The ceiling fan in my master bedroom had a smell. The one in my guest bedroom was not working at all. The service person that came corrected the problem on both fans.

The last claim I submitted with American Home Shield was for a garbage disposal not working. The experience, as far as the interactions with their reps, has been fine but it's always that I have to wait before I get any kind of service. But when the contractor finally arrived, they did great. Overall, it's good.

Machine was not cleaning. Upon examination, it was full of crud! After 2 hours of me scrubbing all the parts and the tech putting them back into the machine, we were very pleased. It seemed to be putting out lots of water. However, something is still not right with the lower spray arm, as a central piece/part now is moving around loosely and it still misses cleaning some of the upper dishes. Will have to get them back.

After several delays in getting my washer checked (all due to the snowy weather and my busy schedule), the technician who was sent to my home was extremely thorough and took the time to explain his findings and next steps. He went the extra step to request looking for parts for a washer that had to be at least 25 years old! When the decision was made that my washer had to be replaced, the experience was smooth and efficient just like my home visit had been. Ordering the new machine and the installation process were all top notch and I was met by pleasant and professional people along the entire journey.
I would recommend AHS and their affiliates to anyone and everyone... I have been since day 1 and won't stop anytime soon! Thank you all for such a fantastic customer service experience at every step. It is priceless in a time and age when companies and their employees seem to have lost that crucial skill to work with the customer and provide great service.

Dishwasher failed. Serviceman came out immediately and evaluated the situation. Motherboard failed and could not be replaced. Process to find a new unit went extremely well and everyone involved from the service person. Service company to Home Shield were outstanding in their efforts to correct our problem. The caring action and resolution was handle very professionally. More importantly, everyone demonstrated a real caring and interest in the process to get us up back up and running with minimal disruption. GREAT JOB!

My clothes dryer went out on me and when I called American Home Shield they sent a repairman out the next day and the dryer couldn't be fixed so American Home Shield paid for me another dryer. I was very pleased with my service. Thank you American Home Shield.

The service company I asked for (who had been there before) came the next day. He adjusted the door temporarily until he could order a part. When it arrived, he came right out and did the repairs. Wonderful service.

Two of our three air conditioners failed last Monday (4/28/14). We call AHS the same day and was told we would have a technician from ALL BRANDS assess the problem with the a/c. A person by the name of HORATIO came to my house the following day and visually inspected one of the a/c. He said I needed a new condenser coil which would have to be ordered and would be available and installed in two days. After repeated calls to HORATIO and ALL BRANDS, all of which were not returned, I contacted AHS and spoke to CHRISTOPER ** who represented himself as a supervisor. He made several false promises and said my a/c would be fixed on Friday morning (5/2/14). As expected, I never heard from ** again despite numerous calls and messages.
I spoke to another representative at AHS with an extremely condescending attitude. I cancelled my account at 3 o'clock this afternoon. HORRIBLE COMPANY, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, COMPLETE RIPOFF and a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. Final note: I was told that ** is not a supervisor. More lies.

HVAC not working. New thermostat installed. Technician stated no power to unit and recommended electrician be called. Electrician said circuit breaker was off. No repair needed. Electrician came prior to scheduled appointment so was not home to determine if further repair was required.

I was having a problem with the furnace not staying on to heat the house. It would come on for a few minutes, if that, and then shut down. The house temperature got as low as 50 degrees. The furnace repairman was able to determine the issue very quickly and clean the part that was causing the problem. The heat came on and stayed on. Problem solved. And stayed solved. No new parts needed and the service call price was it.

I called to get a work order and the person was very efficient and gave me the work order and I was able to get the company that I normally deal with who is affiliated with American Home Shield. They came out and fixed the problem. The few times I've used American Home Shield over the years, my experience has been good and satisfactory.

My last 2 service calls have been handled with courtesy and ease. Our built in microwave microwaved its last meals back in the fall and we opted to upgrade and purchase the new one on our own. The whole process and refund went very smoothly. Recently my oven was on the fritz and that process has went very well also. I have told and recommended an AHS plan to several people because we have been very pleased with it.

My washing machine recently flooded and when I called AHS they immediately sent a serviceman. He was available in a very short time. After checking the machine I was told they would try to find the replacement part at once. AHS notified me the part was no longer available so they would replace my washer with a new one. After I furnished them info about my old machine AHS sent info on a replacement which was an upgrade.
Since that machine wasn't as needed I was advised to select and they would try to get the one I wanted. They had the machine I selected delivered, installed and hauled the old machine away. The entire experience with AHS was super. Every person was very helpful, polite and professional. I AM PROUD I HAD CHOSEN TO BE A MEMBER OF AMERICAN HOME SHIELD AND WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHER POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS.

My light bill was high and I did not know why so I called for service. So you all sent a service repair man. Within 20 min after he arrived he knew what the problem was. No problem since.

I had a leak in the bathroom that required some wall repair afterward. Everything completed satisfactorily but it was behind the toilet and I had to be on the phone for 40 minutes to get you to remove and replace the toilet even though the repair was impossible without doing so. The wait time on the phone with your representatives is very often very long. I am happy with the repair of our dishwasher, though, good follow through. Overall, we are happy with your service, second time we have had over the years.

We reported that our electric clothes dryer was not drying clothing fully at the end of a drying cycle. The technician was thorough in checking out the dryer and found the discharge chute was clogged with damp lint. After removing the clump of damp lint he engaged the dryer through a partial drying cycle and judged it to be working properly. Since that technician's visit my wife told me that the dryer is still not getting the clothes completely dry after each cycle. We will be making another report in the near future. We have not been home long enough to request a repair tech to come out for a visit. The technician was very nice and caring about our problem with the electric dryer. There might be something not working properly with the electric heating elements. I will let the tech make that judgment call.

As new homeowner, I was not very familiar with the insurance. Kim ** account manager was helpful. The customer service was efficient and helpful as well. Though, Economy rooter contractor, I will not recommend! They do not return phone calls, very inconsistent. They asked if I am going to pay the $75.00 before he start working on my toilet bowl. He did not fix it. I asked if the toilet bowl has a crack. He said, "No. Did somebody try to fix it?" I said, "Yes." He said he cannot do anything with it because the insurance will not pay it. I said, "Ok, fix it today and will pay you." He said, "I do have time now. I will give my business. You can call today and schedule it."
I have the feeling that he does NOT want the insurance be involved with the transaction. I believe he can charge more if I deal with him directly. I decided not going to work with them anymore. Now, toilet bowl is not fixed. I would like you to help me to find me a new contractor to work with. I am willing to pay some money just to fix it. Overall, I am happy with you as insurance but you have to be picky on your contractors. Please contact me at **. Thank you.

I discovered that water was coming from under my sink. I called American Home Shield to place a request for service. The technician came out a few days later and within a couple of hours, the problem was identified and fixed. He was pleasant, efficient and cleaned up after he was done. Thank you for everything.

My washing machine was leaking a little bit of water, and it ended up being the pump on it. I went online and filed a claim. It was fairly easy to do and I really liked the contractor sent out by AHS this time. The appliance is working good. My biggest complaint with them is their response to emergency situation... Because you are paying for the service so it seems to me if your heat or A/C went out on a weekend or a toilet clogged up, that it should not be that you have to wait. I think they let the contractors have an X amount of hours to respond to you. Like last year, I had a lot of trouble with my A/C. The actual company that was contacted to come out took 2 or 3 days.

WJA Construction was sent to fix my leaking toilet. He changed the needed item to address that issue, and I mentioned another issue I was having with my other toilet. He just without my asking went ahead and addressed that issue as well. I really appreciated that and it was totally unexpected. That is what I call good customer service!!!!! Thanks, AHS!!!

I called in with a dishwasher problem and Home Shield got me a great service man. He discovered the problem and order parts and fixed it better than new. And also told us to use a certain dishwasher soap. I was very satisfied with the outcome.

I have had American Home Shield for about 1-1/2 years. I have used them twice and both times the technicians who were sent were very professional, prompt and courteous. I knew the name of the company they were sending. I received better service when I made my request online versus by phone. The phone access did not work for me as they did not send anyone and I had to go online a few days later to request service.

Our range needed some repair work. We called AHS, a technician was sent. The parts were not available. To our surprise AHS ordered a brand new range and we only had to pay a small charge to upgrade which saved us hundreds. AWESOME! I would definitely recommend AHS to all my family and friends. I finally got my refrigerator repaired yesterday after being without it for 6 of the last 7 weeks. For a 21-year old refrigerator, I think it is ridiculous that AHS chose to put hundreds of dollars of repairs into it instead of replacing it. Even now, the temp in the fridge went up for a short time again last night and it was making a small noise this morning. I will monitor it, but have little confidence that I will not continue to have problems.

My compressor failed in March and was scheduled to be replaced by a local vendor/contractor. AHS was to ship the compressor and did not do so in a timely manner. The compressor was shipped a week after I was specifically called and told it was shipped. After numerous phone calls to the local vendor/contractor and to AHS, the situation was finally rectified to my satisfaction.

In January 2014, we had severe cold and had pipes freeze in our hot water heat system. We were out of town but contacted AHS for a contractor who did come out after some confusion as to the number of a cell phone we gave for contact. Sure enough - he came out and the pipes were frozen. We did know we had a couple of malfunctioning zones prior to the freeze but the service man told our house-sitter that the pipes were frozen - the boiler was working satisfactorily. In March, we contacted AHS to have a boiler repair. We got the same repairman who really went through the boiler and replaced parts in the zones. All appears to be working well now. We really did like the repairman and he did a very thorough check on the second visit.

I have had AHS for many years and have only had to use the services a few times. I always call in and have had the best customer service experience each time I call. Only one time I called and the man I spoke with was rude and not at all pleasant. But the last person who handled my claim was so very sweet and took care of all my questions and concerns. I have told many about the great way I am treated and now several of my fellow employees have AHS. And several of my personal friends have gone to AHS. My one friend jokes with me and says I should be a spokesperson for AHS. Hahaha. But thank you for the continued good service.

Could you, would you please inform your contractors to stick to the primary job upon arrival instead of trying to influence you to accept another job which they inform you is related to the original job? In other words, quit trying to "hustle" the customer into something that is not needed, such as WATER DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE WATER LEAK.

I purchased an older home in August of 2012 and purchased a home warranty from American Home Shield. I have had heating unit problems requiring a new unit, gas line leaks and water leaks. Each time I contacted AHS and informed them of my problem, they scheduled an appointment to have needed repairs performed. All repairs were done in a timely manner by the contractors they scheduled. AHS stands behind their contract and the work that is performed. They are a Great Company and I will continue to renew my contract with them for my third time this August.

I've had American Home Shield on my residence for over 20 years and each year when I renew my contract, I wonder if it's needed. I'm so appreciative that I've renewed my contract each year, as it's offered me peace of mind; American Home Shield has repaired my major appliances, replaced my hot water heater a couple times over the years, countless ceiling fans, light switches and one year they replaced one of my air conditioning units. Very thankful for the contractor partners they work with as well.

My 6-year-old refrigerator quit working - AHS sent a repairman - it couldn't be fixed as a closed unit - AHS replaced it - with a comparable unit - only this time a Maytag (I had a Samsung). Very pleased with the outcome - this all takes awhile - about 3 weeks from my first call to new refrigerator being installed. I have other calls for plumbing repairs and have been very happy with the service.

We had to have the service company out twice to fix the problem. The tech requested we call immediately when the problem occurred and when I called on Friday and Saturday morning - I couldn't get service until Monday. The AHS rep was not helpful when I called and I was put off by her attitude. It turned out to be the evaporator motor that was getting stuck and the freezer would warm up. The part was replaced and hopefully the problem resolved. The serviceman said that it would be helpful to get to the problem while it was happening and not after the motor started up again. I tried to explain it to your AHS rep but she wouldn't listen.

A few weeks ago, I returned home from work and my house felt very cold. My furnace was blowing only cold air. I checked the thermostat and discovered I could not even turn off the blower. Definitely time to call AHS. They called and told me the name of the contractor coming out the next day. Everything went according to schedule, and soon my furnace was repaired. AHS has never let me down and I have always been very happy with their choice of contractors. AHS has made my life much easier!

The most honest and genuine repairs were made. Showed me what is wrong and answered all of my questions. I had some very shady companies come before McGovern Mechanical. They actually made up defects so that they could submit an astronomical work order. McGovern Mechanical....the best. Ask for Brian or Michael!

This is the second time we have been enrolled in AHS! I am totally sold on this company. This time my front loader washer was leaking soap and we didn't know why. Now I have always known I need to buy HE soap for the washer and always have... until recently! We got an appointment within a day and the technician put it through all the tests BEFORE he saw that I did not buy the HE on my last grocery trip! I was very glad it wasn't something more serious! I will never be without AHS again.

The power was out in my master bedroom and bath. I called Custom Home Electric as they are the company recommended for my area. They charged me $75.00 service fee. The service person was nice and professional; however he really did not know what the problem was. He reset the breaker switch. I asked him if he would replace the batteries in my smoke alarms, which he did... He charged me an additional $16.00 for batteries. A week later the same problem recurred. After being charged nearly $100.00 for new batteries, I opted to contact another company. I felt he should have replaced the batteries for free. Really feel abused by this service provider. I would never recommend them.

One of the reasons I have American Home Shield is that I hate plumbing. But another, very important, reason is that the service providers have always been professional, courteous and conscientious. The water faucet had literally broken. I had shut off the water, but had no idea how to get to the shower assembly without bashing out all the ceramic tile. The plumber fixed the problem, and without wanton destruction!!!! Well worth the cost per month, and the "call out" fee. (Also, his pants went all the way to his waist, whew!)

My air conditioner and heat stopped working the one week in AL where I needed them both! I called and someone was sent out a couple days later. The motor was shot that ran both units so after ordering the part, he came back three days later and installed it and now it's fine!

I was having problems with my dishwasher not cleaning the dishes well. The technician checked it out and also tested my water which revealed that my water softener was not doing its job. Another tech came out and checked out my water softener and made some adjustments. Now both appliances are working properly. Both techs made helpful suggestions to keep those appliances working well. I was very pleased.

In general, the companies that have provided service for my two homes have done an excellent job. However, there have been some experiences when the Service Company was very unprofessional and not customer oriented. When this has occurred, the service needed was finally achieved but I had to request that I never have that company service my needs in the future.

I have two policies with AHS; one on Miami, the other in Jacksonville. I have nothing but praise with their service. Their response to service requests and professionalism is superb. I've used them 5 times and each was a good experience with the problem fixed within two to three days and worse, needed to order a part, one week. No issue with items under warranty and the only out of pocket, for actual repairs, was the co-payment. Items fixed - refrigerator, two separate AC problems, one plumbing, and one electrical. Excellent!

In August I submitted a work order. You sent an electrician (Moore Electric) and Mr. Moore said he could not fix it because he could not locate a replacement fan due to the age of the fan. I have contacted AHS several times and although each customer service person assures me it will be resolved, no one ever gets back to me and it is still not resolved. They say Mr. Moore does not respond to their contacts. He is probably out of business?!? I am actually angry at this point. Because the fan is broken, squirrels came in through it in the winter and caused damage in the attic and ceiling. I paid $350 to get them removed and a screen put over the fan opening to keep them out. Then rain came in through the broken fan and caused ceiling damage which I cannot afford to get fixed. AHS had better get the fan fixed or cash it out ASAP!!

We have a geothermal heat pump that was leaking water. A previous leak was fixed in early April; this is a leak in a new place in the same piece of pipe. Customer service was great, but the online service form did not allow me to instruct AHS that this is a repeat visit for the same device with a similar problem in a different place. If I had not thought to call Customer Service to make sure they were aware that this was a repeat call, it would not have been booked that way and probably delayed the whole process and cost me money. In addition to that, the technician that came in (Martin's Mechanical - who were GREAT!) asked permission to replace the whole pipe, but was told to repair the leaks (there were two in the same pipe, which was corroded).
I called Customer Service (again) and asked if the homeowner could request the whole pipe to be replaced (it was only about 18 inches long). I was informed that Customer Service and the Adjusters were on different systems and they were not aware of any requests from the technician. While the Customer Service person was helpful, professional and courteous, it is apparent that the two departments need to be integrated more tightly. My wife and I love the service we are getting from AHS and their contractors, but it seems that I need to contact Customer Service when I book a request. Partly because we have some unusual appliances (e.g. the geothermal unit), and partly because I am not convinced that the web entry captures the whole story, except for the more simple ones.

Overall our experience has been pleasant, but on two occasions we needed repairs the service people that were sent out had no clue what they were doing about the repair, and on one other occasion the service guy never even showed up. The worst thing I can say about Home Shield - they send out the cheapest service people they can find, and the customer ends up paying for that!

I was having problems with my washer and dryer. The washer was not wringing the water out of the clothes in the rinse cycle. The dryer needed a belt and bearing. Home Shield sent out Sears repair service. Both are working like new. Thank you so much.

We were putting in new flooring. Refrigerator had to be moved in order to put flooring under it. When workers moved it back in place and plugged it back in, it started smoking. So I called AHS. I was called the next morning and repairman came later. He knew exactly what was wrong and was able to fix in about 30 minutes. I was so relieved, did not want to lose anymore food. We had gone without power for three days about a month before due to bad weather. I was pleased at how the situation was remedied.

We have used American Home Shield on three homes including our current one. In all three homes we have had covered appliances or equipment fail and AHS has always come through for us. While costs for insuring the home equipment has gone up, it is still affordable--roughly $50/month and that's equivalent to a couple of evening meals out so not a real penalty to have the protection.

American Home Shield not only responds to my calls for help when an appliance or other covered part of my house breaks, they also are good to send reminders to have checks run on the heating and air conditioning so that they are kept in good working order. Prompt response to my phone call. Was here approximately Apr 7 to fix a leak in my tenant's refrigerator. A week later it was again leaking. Called; they came immediately; no additional charge. Same service man, liked him very much. He was from Whim's.

It is my experience that American Home Shield is an extremely valuable service to have when you buy your first home. The sellers purchased the first year of service for me and I have renewed it for a second year. In today's day and age, you can not rely upon the word of a seller regarding appliances when you buy your home and it is certainly in your best interest to protect yourself. In my case, my inspector was unable to check the air conditioner due to the temperature outside. So AHS was there for me when the weather turned warm and I needed to use my A/C. Also since I bought an older home, it had old appliances so the chances of them needing attention were high. Several months into home ownership, my 14-year old hot water heater went out and AHS was there for me again.
American Home Shield is very easy to use. You just go online and submit a request and they find the qualified company to come to the home to take care of the situation. Both times I have used them, they have selected companies that are listed with the BBB and had good ratings. I appreciate the fact they send reliable, qualified, and knowledgeable technicians to assist me in each situation. Now you may end up disputing the work of company, that will happen in life. In my case, the dispute was easy to settle and AHS was able to assist with the recall request and the handling of further repairs when disputing the claims of a plumber. I have friends who have other home appliance insurances and they have to work quite hard to get a repair done, that is not the case with AHS. AHS just makes life easy and provides a peace of mind that you will be able to have a repair made even when funds are slim.

I had just moved into a rental property that I owned. All the drains were sluggish and were making gurgling sounds. I submitted a claim and it seemed like minutes before I was being contacted by a plumber. I met him at the house as soon as I left school for the day. He asked me some questions and got right on the job. Within minutes, all drains were free and I was a very happy consumer. Thanks AHS for services well provided.

Repair man came out, worked on dryer. Did not explain if he was ordering parts. Received email from AHS saying parts were on order and we would be contacted by repair contractor when the parts arrived to set up appointment. Have tried to contact the contractor with no luck. I have generally been very pleased with all the services we have received from AHS, but feel that the lack of service we received from the plumber sent on 3/30 when our basement flooded was a direct result of the same sump pump failing and re-flooding our newly partially restored basement exactly 30 days later.

The repair of my refrigerator or should I say the non-repair of my refrigerator. Back in Nov, my compressor went out 5 days. They it up and running again. Way too many days to be without a refrigerator. In Feb. the compressor goes out again. 5 or 6 days later, the refrigerator is up and running. On 04/09/14 the fridge is out again. It took 2 1/2 weeks this time to be repaired. That lasted 1 day. They were back again on 04/22/14. So far so good. Unhappy customer.

Submitted an on-line request to have the a/c system checked before summer temps hit. A/C tech showed up on-time, smiling & professionally dressed. Our systems checked out fine, but while the tech was in the attic, he noticed our hot water heater was leaking. Now, he could have dismissed it as not his job to say anything, but because he said something, he saved us potentially thousands of dollars in costly repairs. WOW! What service! We have been issues with our air and heat handlers since moving into the house we bought just over two years ago and we are so grateful for getting AHS warranty and renewing same each year. I could not be happier with this policy and the service it has provided me. I needed a leak fixed on my bath fixture. Within hours a prominent plumber (in business for over 30 years, family owned) made my appointment. Plumber arrived before time scheduled. He was kind, clean, gave me helpful hints and even performed a minor repair on my toilet, which he called in to you to obtain permission from you. I felt so strongly about his service. Most people put off annoying home repairs because it takes up so much time. First, you have to find someone responsible and equitable to do the repairs. Next, you need to get a quote as to how much these repairs will cost. Finally, you have to take a day off of work to wait around for a repairman to make his call. American Home Shield makes those steps for you. They have already found qualified people. The cost is a flat fee and they give you a time window of when the repairs will be done. And they follow up to make sure you are satisfied!

I had my Maytag washer for 20 years and I had a problem with it not wanting to agitate, so I called and set up an appointment for repair. When the repairman got here, he told me that he put a new belt on it. Was ready to go, he stayed here while I started my load. Then when it was to agitate, it made the awful noise again and then he told me that it would cost more to repair this old machine than to get a new one. He told me what I needed to do to get my replacement washer with American Home Shield and Wow it was just as easy as he told me - no hassle. It was not long and I had a new Maytag all paid for. This is a great home protection for your major products. I have already had 3 friends sign up over the years just listening to me brag about how good they are. I recommend them highly.

My hot water heater was leaking. I spoke with the plumber on the phone and explained the problem. When a tank leaks, it is surely in need of replacement. The plumber arrived at my home on Friday morning April 18th and said, "Yes it's Leaking. I have to get approval from AHS to replace it." Then he said that he would not be able to replace it until Tuesday. In the meantime during the night the tank burst. I could not arrange for an emergency replacement through AHS or the plumber. I was forced to make other arrangements.

Our garage door opener suddenly stopped lifting one day so I called AHS. I was contacted by a repair company very quickly. The gentleman that came to my house was very friendly, enthusiastic, and professional. It was deemed my opener was very old and parts were no longer made for it so AHS replaced my opener with a brand new one. We are very happy with AHS and believe it is a great investment for any homeowner.

We are extremely happy with the coverage/service, with the exception of two issues - even if we know the solution due to previous visits, we have to wait for a serviceman to again evaluate the same problem and then we have to wait for the solution. The other is what we've experienced - a serviceman is coming next week for the fourth time in a few months for the same dishwasher; motherboards have been replaced. I believe the appliance should be replaced, however, we have been advised it can only be replaced if one visit exceeds the cost of the appliance. I believe the total number of calls within a specific period should be considered for replacement; AHS has spent more on fixing this specific appliance than it would cost to replace it.

Regardless of the complaint or associate I get to handle my complaint, they have always been very professional and get my issues handled as soon as possible. I have never had to wait a prolonged period time for any of them. I wasn't sure if my ice maker was broken or if something was just jammed. The repairman came right on time and told me the ice maker had to be replaced. He called American Home Shield to make sure the ice maker was completely covered and told me it was. I only paid my copay and that was it. We've subscribed to AHS service for app. 10 years. The service has been fair, prompt, reasonable and pleasant. We've had a number of things repaired or replaced over the years. I have had to use this service several times since we purchased our home in 10/1/2013. The air con had trouble several times and you were prompt in getting service out to my home. Then I had an issue with the dishwasher, you send the repair persons out and well it took them a month and 4 times to come out but finally got it up and running, and the funny thing is the parts they ordered and I had to wait on, well they did not use any of them. They left them here. I do wish that Sears would get some better professionals to work for them. But as far as American Home Shield, Love the service and would recommend it to others.

After I had been told by a company referred to me by Home Depot that said they would check out our system at a reduced price, they told me my unit was in bad shape and that the compressor would need replacing, etc. I called AHS and Xtreme Air, Inc. came out and tested everything and said all's well for now and no need to do anything drastic. Doesn't mean I won't need additional service, but they said everything checked out ok. I trust your referrals.

Microwave door would not open and American Home Shield quickly scheduled repair. Repair company came out, diagnosed problems, ordered part and had them delivered directly to our house and came back and completed repair in same day. I have use AHS twice in one year. The first time was my kitchen sink. Because I called on the weekend they were not able to send a technician out until Monday. I had to call someone else because I was having out of town guest. To my surprise AHS reimbursed me the total out of pocket cost. The second time was within the past 90 days. My heater motor was making a loud noise. I called them. A tech came out the next day, advised me he was ordering a new motor and it was installed within the week. My cost was my co-pay. My home is only 4 years old and who would think anything would break down. I am extremely happy with AHS and tell all my friends that are home owners it is a real peace of mind to have it.

I requested service. It took Two weeks to get the pool guy to answer my call. When he did he said he was on a roof in Montecito at "a really nice house with an amazing view." He said he couldn't help me right then and he would call me back later that afternoon. A week later I called him back and had to remind him who I was. He finally came out and diagnosed my pool issues. I paid him my $75 then got an email from AHS saying they were closing my claim because the plumber never submitted anything requesting authorization.
I filed a complaint which prompted the plumber Tom to submit for authorization. Yesterday I called and let him know I have another pool company waiting on him to get my pump replaced. He said, "I have your new pump on my truck and I will be there today or tomorrow at the latest". That would be 4/30/14 or 5/1/14. It is now 9 PM on 5/1/14 and he has again been a no show. I have been generally impressed with American Home Shield. Not so much right now. I asked to fire this non-impressive contractor but was told by AHS I was stuck with him. Not impressed!

Up to now your service has been great. But I called for service on my heating and air which is a water to air system. You informed me that the well motor would not be covered. This well motor is a vital part of the system and it will not work without it. It is part of the heating and air system and you would not cover same. It makes no sense to me. I called today to cancel American Home Shield. AHS will only replace my sump pump with additional costs. Why are there always other costs when you pay $57.73 per month and a $75 service charge fee. I got nothing at all because they said my pipe to the pump needed replacement...an additional $450. This is appalling and I am awaiting a callback from your cancellation department.

My AC went out - both the blower motor and the compressor. The situation was resolved once parts were received to my complete satisfaction. The work was done over the course of 2 repair visits because of the 2 different parts received and the repairmen were very professional and worked in a very diligent manner.

In the past month, I have had three items to need repair - My heat pump, refrigerator and a ceiling fan. Two of the three have been repaired so far and both contractors did an excellent job. When I contacted customer service each time they were very helpful and got my service set as soon as possible. I have been very pleased with my service. I had a multiplicity of problems with my previous home shield provider who I was with for over two years and never submitted a claim. When I needed repair work on a couple of item in my home, all I received from them was reasons why they could not honor the repair request. I discontinued with my contract with them and call American Home Shield and entered a contract agreement with them and filed a claim concerning my A/C Unit of which they sent a repairman out who repaired my Unit at no charge to me. I had only been with American Home Shield for about three months and had to file a claim. They didn't question it, and had my A/ C working again in a matter of about two days. I highly recommend this service company.

I must say that I am very displeased with AHS. As a paying customer, I believe that I am wasting time with such a policy. I have over the past two years had 6 visits from technicians to fix washer and dryer. I recently asked, "At what point will this machine be replaced?" The answer was, "When we get word from the senior technician." The said technician has stated that AHS would never replace same. With my AC unit the persons said the new Freon or whatever is costly and AHS covers $5 and the customer $60-$65. Likewise the statement was "AHS would never replace your AC." I am dissatisfied with AHS and would never have friends or families buy such a policy.

Just as things were starting to heat up in Florida this spring, the air conditioner decided to take some time off. I made a late-night call to AHS, spoke to a live person at an hour that I didn't think I'd be able to reach anyone, received a call from the service provider first thing in the morning, and had the AC repaired before noon. I bragged about the service so much at work that day that my supervisor now has AHS coverage too!

Pumbline Plumbing came to my home and they thought they had taken care of my problem and the next day I learned the motor had not been fixed. They came back a second time and said I needed a new motor. It has been several weeks and they have not come back. I've called them and I've called you several times, and to date nothing has happened. I'm very disappointed.

My unit would not cool at start of summer operation. Called AHS. Next day contractor came over, fixed what they thought was problem but unfortunate that was not the only problem. To make a long story short, contractor had to come 3 times and never did AHS back away from what should be considered great customer service and relieved my anxiety, thinking I was not going to be understood what was going on with my Central Unit. Thanks AHS for standing behind your customer commitment!!!

We have had an American Home Shield warranty for the past 9 years on two different homes. Our warranty was for a house in AL for 5 years and then for 4 years on a house in Texas. I would say I have had to call and schedule a repair maybe 5 or 6 times throughout all those years and I have always been pleased with not only the work done but the people who have come out to fix my issues. The very last time I used my warranty it was during the closing of a house we were selling. We had issues with the air conditioning units. Since I was out of state my realtor called a local company to find out what was wrong.
They came out and said I had to replace both units for a price of roughly $5000.00. I told my realtor I needed to call AHS and use my warranty. The repair man AHS gave me to service the unit told me that the one unit was working perfectly fine but the other did need some repairs. I paid my fee for the service and saved myself from being ripped off by a local repair company. With AHS I have always felt confident I was being treated fairly and whatever the cost may be it is worth it for the peace of mind.

I have been a customer for many moons now. On my first request for service it was a bumpy road. Then I had a costly repair and it seemed to be going like the first repair. I finally spoke with upper mgnt about my concerns. Not to a deaf ear was I heard. I believe I have been treated very fairly and although from time to time you get inferior customer service, you're now hiring people who are compassionate to a homeowner who is dealing with serious repair needs. Now I hear true concern in making sure the customer is happy and understands the process.
Customer service is everything today and your company is reaching the bar with customer satisfaction. I ask for a job as a field director for my state. I have referred so many friends and business acquaintances to your company. There are no incentives. I am a great business woman who thinks outside the box. Your company should hire me. On 4/11/14 you dispatched ac vendor to our home. He installed coolant which we paid for per our contract. We have been on the phone for 50 minutes to re-call to you and have them come back out. Finally hung-up? We have a contract with AHS for many years and have never waited on the phone for so long. We have put in a call to Crystal Air, Inc and left a message for them to return our call asap to resolve issue. We're unsure if AHS needed to be contacted first.

We had a GE refrigerator that broke down back in February 2014. We had a technician come out and do a diagnosis, said the little drain in the back was iced up. He flushed it with hot water and left us thinking we were good for a long while. Well, the fridge died again a week and a half later and then again another couple weeks after that. Each time NOTHING was done other than being flushed with hit water. Each time we lost about $150 in freshly bought groceries. When we asked about the fridge being replaced, since they couldn't fix it, we got a bunch of "well, we would have to send a senior technician out..." Wait, you didn't think to do that after THE SECOND TIME??? The whole reason we had this policy was the peace of mind that if anything happened, we had this as a back up. I got a new fridge now, that we bought ourselves, because I have a family of four, can't afford to eat out for a week each time, because that's how long it would take a technician to come out, and can't afford to throw my groceries in the trash each time. I will save my money, and maybe find some other policy, but I will not be renewing with you.

Receiving a replacement gas furnace was not difficult, although we were told we would receive a Carrier unit and didn't realize until it was installed that we had been sent the low end product line Payne unit. Our real problem was with the shoddy and unprofessional installation work of the contractor and the lack of interest and care that AHS exhibited in finding a remedy for us. As a result, we not only won't renew our contract with AHS at expiration, it's highly unlikely that we'll submit additional claims should anything in our home break down. The workmanship on everything we've had repaired or placed has been without exception unsatisfactory.

Two of the stove burners on my 7 year old cooktop would not work and the glass top was cracked when I raised the top to check the burners. AHS replaced the stove with a selection of my choice. AHS even found the stove at a reduced price due to their volume buying. They placed the order, arranged for the delivery, installation and even the old stove being hauled away. The whole process only took 4 days. The only cost to me was the $75 deductible. I have used AHS service twice with two different appliances and have been very pleased. I have recommended AHS to several friends.

I had an outdoor a/c unit that needed repair. The technician was prompt and very courteous. In repairing my first a/c unit, he noticed a previously unknown problem with my other a/c unit. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had both units repaired very quickly. Thanks to his attention to detail, he saved me an extra service charge and has me forever sold on renewing my AHS membership.

I would never buy another home without AHS. The company is awesome. They are friendly, and the service I have received is the best. I cannot say enough about them. I am satisfied with their contractors. I would not use another company. I am loyal to AHS.

The ice maker in my 10 yr. old refrigerator needed to be replaced. The professional way my situation was handled was very reassuring. I always recommend AHS to friends and family. I can't understand why everyone doesn't have coverage.

Just appreciate how quickly someone was sent to check out the furnace. With the cold weather we had I was afraid it would take a while. Due to a cancellation, they called back and had everything fixed in less than 2 hours.

This was a re-call. The air-con had been out a few weeks earlier and replaced condenser on the inside unit. The next time we went to use the air-con, it would not cool. I called American Shield and they lined me up with a new appointment immediately. The repairman came out and discovered another condenser on the outside unit was out. He replaced it at no extra fee. The repairman was friendly and efficient.

I have a problem with my AC and AHS sent out a repair person 3 days ago. I was dissatisfied with the service the tech provided and spoke to AHS. The person I spoke to was very understanding and immediately set me up for a second opinion at no charge to me. It was determined that the first diagnosis was incorrect and the actual problem has been identified. AHS has approved for the work to begin and my AC will be back up and running soon. The level of customer service, caring and kindness I received today is remarkable. I have used AHS for years and they have always been good to me. I have never encountered an issue until this incident and it was taken care of immediately. I will continue to recommend AHS to every home owner I know.

We've been loyal customers for years. Last year we had tried 6 months to get dryer repaired. Company kept no showing after they took initial payment. Then got electrician who left with live wires and used my toothbrush. Yes, we complained. The electrician was known by one of the repairman who was honest as he has very bad reputation. Most problems with Sears subcontractor, A & E. One man urinated all over my bathroom, literally, not missed toilet but peed on sink and tub. They said I had to have him back again. My dryer was scratched up and never came back for mechanical repairs. Washer took 5 months to get repaired, then they dropped us. Seriously?
I paid my monthly fee every month for 5 years. We had one bad year with many repairs, but please note that we were supposed to have moved out of this house but as we were moving our new home burned down. We weren't supposed to be here. We lost our new home then things started breaking here left and right. After their electrician came, used my toothbrush, didn't have his own tools, after that everything started breaking then they didn't renew us with 2 weeks’ notice. Not happy about the fact that we had a bad year to begin with to say the least, then they drop us. Dryer repair never done.

We have had AHS on our appliances in our home we owned in WA state and now in AZ. It gives us a peace of mind that when we have a problem with an appliance, that it is not going to cost us a fortune to repair it or have it replaced. We have had AHS for well over 15 years and have been very happy with it.

Installation never happened. The company I was referred to couldn't find the request. After finally them finding the request, I was asked to send pics of cabinets and new microwave. I sent requested pics. Then was told they were running behind so scheduling hasn't happened. They finally called after a week after talking to them but being a school teacher during state testing I could not answer phone. When I called back they were closed til Tuesday (4/29). Not dealing with trying to get them out here. Because I was told the first visit would be just to look at everything to see how long it would take. I've hired someone else to put in tomorrow. Pretty disappointed that part of the fee charged was installation and removal fee. When I'm the one who is paying for that now. Even after paying for an upgrade fee to get what I wanted.

Hero's employee arrived at designated time, neat, friendly and ready to work. He quickly found the cause of our problem and fixed it. The drywall man arrived in a timely manner and repaired the dry wall. We were totally satisfied with both repairmen.

I feel "We'll Fix it" was trying to pad their bill making false claims. My water heater never leaked, they claimed it was. Their representative was very rude to my wife. She did not want him back in our home. Now to the lousy service from American Home Shield. Since We'll Fix It padded their bill I replaced the water heater myself. The first AHS rep advised he was sending me a check for the 125.00 and other monies totaling approx 430.00. I get an email from Ms. **. I replied to that email but never got any type of call or email back. So the department that handles the refund claimed called and emailed I never got an e mail.
When I called to that dept I spoke with Mike and he said I would not get any refund unless I had a licensed contractor fix the water heater. Well I had already bought and replaced the water heater myself since the first rep said, "Go ahead, we will credit the monies back to you." At first Mike said I was SOL but he agreed to the 430.00 refund if I faxed the receipts which I have without a call back. I use to swear by AHS even when they messed up my billing last year but I am now telling everyone to find another home warranty company.

The technician was very prompt and courteous. He explained what he anticipated the problem was and the additional cost to rectify it... I was stunned. I think it is very unfair for AHS to add the cost of the Freon to the initial service call. What has changed to make the consumer responsible for this additional cost?? In years past, this was not so; therefore I don't think it is fair now. You went up on the initial service charge, that should be ample enough to cover all costs, especially since you pay on this every month and use it once or twice in 2-3 years. Just my thought.. why pay for the Freon??

I have been an AHS customer for several years. During this time we have had several breakdowns in the house. From water heaters, to garbage disposal, dishwasher etc. Every time I have called AHS for service, I have always been greeted by very friendly and helpful representatives. I have always received very prompt service. I have highly recommended AHS to numerous friends and many have called and signed with AHS. Great service, great people.

We think Home Shield is a great company. It is the company that sent to fix the microwave seemed to be unsure of themselves of what to do. First they order one part and that does not work so they have to order the whole control panel. He should have known this in the beginning instead of letting us wait so long for it to be fixed.

On or about April 1st, just prior to leaving for vacation, I turned on the AC and got nothing but warm air. I called AHS just prior to our return and requested Piedmont Mechanical to repair the unit. Piedmont Mechanical replaced the coil on my unit in Aug 2012. We got home Sunday and the Technician was at my house the next morning. He arrived as scheduled, quickly diagnosed the problem (compressor fan was not working) jumped the fan, checked the freon level and the capacitor and declared the system operational all within 1 hour. I paid my $75.00 and he was on his way. You can't ask for anything better.

I have been enrolled with AHS for about five years. Their representatives have always been very professional with me on any call I make to them. The fact that I can address three issues on one ticket is excellent. If I have a complaint on a vendor, they are the ones to address the issue. I just recently added another household under my account. The fact they now cover fixtures is WONDERFUL!!! I recommend their services to anyone who needs coverage.

I find American Home Shield a coverage every homeowner should invest in. I have been a member for 8 years and have used them many times. We only had a problem with one of their contracts. And the problem was corrected. They make it easy when you need repairs with their online service as well as telephone service. When you have a replacement you are given options as to your replacement.

Clogged kitchen sink and garbage disposal - My service was very timely and was conducted by an excellent plumbing company. When the job was complete, I was able to use the sink and disposal without a problem. Thanks to AHS was using the best, certified and license businesses.

We have had an AHS Contract for quite some time and so far we have been impressed with their responsiveness to broken systems (HVAC; Microwave Oven; Garbage Disposal; Plumbing issues; etc.) and they were taken care of quickly. AHS also offered several preventive maintenance opportunities on our HVAC systems and we took advantage of those offers as well. We have recommended AHS to several our friends and relatives to date and will continue to do so as long as they continue to produce the results shown as noted.

Overall I have been extremely satisfied with AHS. I have renewed my coverage each year for 12 years. With the exception of Sear's and one HVAC repair person, all service personnel have been competent, professional and quick to respond to my covered systems and equipment. The premiums continue to rise as everything has. However, if you have just two repairs or one major repair and the coverage pays for itself. I'm quite pleased with the coverage.

We have been dealing with broken central air for about a month now. The original contractor that was sent out has been back no less than 5 times in the past month (3 of those times, there was no call ahead of time-even though we were told we would receive a call 30 minutes out to make sure we were home-luckily, someone just happened to be home 2 of those times). After being told it would take 4-5 days for the part to be ordered, it took 2 1/2 weeks for the part to be installed... as the contractor sent to us is from another town an hour away and he had to wait until he was going to be "in the area" to finish the job. (Not sure why they wouldn't have sent someone local... there are plenty of AC people in this town). All of this on top of the fact that we had to replace 3 lbs of freon at $50/lb. for a total of $225 for the initial visit. It's been cooler since the repairs were made, so we haven't run the AC yet and aren't sure the repairs really worked. The guy said, "You've really got a dinosaur there... it should just be replaced, but they won't let us do that if it still runs at all." Guess we'll see.

I am almost through my 1st year with AHS and am happy with my investment with them. My new (to me) home has had some issues and every single issue has been covered. I just renewed my warranty and even took additional coverage (just in case).....must mean they're doing something right.

Getting AHS was the best decision that I have made as a home owner. They are always very quick getting back to me when I submit a service request. It is such a relief that any repair costs me only $75. They have a repair person to my home much quicker than I was ever able to get one before I had AHS. I have stopped worrying about anything breaking at my house. Such a stress reliever.
