American Home Shield has been consistent in helping me keep my home maintenance up to date. Timely articles sent to me via email help me to focus on priority items of keeping my home in good repair as each season passes. I even ordered my air filters for my HVAC system through AHS because the prices and filter quality were so good. When I suspected a problem in my AC system, AHS helped me arrange for a technician to evaluate my problem in less than a day. The technician was on-time and extremely competent. He took time to explain what he was doing and his findings. He wasn't trying to sell me anything; he assured me I had no problem and no further action was required.

I am writing you today to inform you of how dissatisfied I am with the handling of my previous complaint. I am a returning customer but unfortunately I will not be renewing after my policy expires. I had my air conditioning package unit replaced through the warranty program this year. The process started on May 13th 2014. I called the request service number and was assigned Jackson Mechanical as a contractor. After the email was sent out I did some reviewing of the contractor and found multiple complaints for them on creditable websites. I quickly called back and asked to be assigned another contractor, but I was informed that they were the only ones in the area which I found strange considering the population of the Little Rock Metro. I decided to give them a chance and they showed up at the agreed upon time. They quickly dismissed my information about the evaporator leaking for a loose cap and refilled the system and took my $75 dollars and left.
Two weeks later I was back on the phone with AHS explaining that the recharge did not resolve the issue as the unit was not cooling again and the refrigerant had leaked back out. They show up again and attempt to patch the evaporator with a torch; this did not work as well. So they inform me that the parts are going to be ordered and leave. The next month goes by with no Air Conditioning and the Arkansas Summer raging on. The humidity in the house ruins artwork but there is no new information for AHS or Jackson Mechanical.
Five Weeks later I get an email saying that the parts have been ordered and I will hear from Jackson soon. They inform me that the evaporator coil was damaged during shipping and a new one would be ordered. Another week goes by and I get another email from AHS stating once again that the parts had been ordered. Two days later I get another call saying that the evaporator coil was back ordered with no estimated in stock date. On July 1st I get an email from AHS stating that the parts had been ordered to fix the Air Conditioner. They wisely decided to replace the entire unit with a new unit. I was more than exhausted from the waiting and back and forth but was excited to put it behind me.
The new unit shows up and Jackson installed it. System was up and running and everything was great, or so I thought. After returning from my honeymoon, it was now fall, I was prepping from winter. I was outside and noticed the package unit did not have its gas supply line hooked up. The supply line was capped underneath the house and was never run completely. So I placed a call to AHS on October 30th and informed them of my findings. I also called Jackson Mechanical directly and nobody answered or returned my message. The employee from AHS said that he would contact Jackson Mechanical and see what was happening. I didn't hear back from either one and called AHS on the November 3rd to see what was going on. They informed me that they did not receive a call back from Jackson Mechanical and were still waiting. I called back the following day and received the same excuse but was told it had been elevated to the contractor relations department.
Four days later and no communication from either party, I call again on the 10th. This time I asked for AHS to send out another contractor and I would pay the $75 fee to get the heater turned on before the winter weather moved in. AHS told me that they could not send out another contractor until the previous one had contacted them and gave them the reason for not hooking up the gas line. On that day I realized I was not as valuable to you as a paying customer as your shady contractors were. I hired a local contractor to run the gas line from the crawlspace to the Package Unit on November 11th. On November 13th the high temperature in Little Rock was 38 degrees with a low of 27, safe to say that winter weather was arriving and I was still without heat. So the heater is working after I paid the contractor and things are back to normal besides the fact the AHS has not followed up with me about my problem.
Three weeks go by and I am curious as to what happened and I call AHS. They tell me that the contractor finally responded to them and told them that they tried to contact me but I did not answer and my phone was not accepting voicemails. I have Jackson Mechanical's phone number stored and would not have missed it or if I did I would have for sure called them back. Also my phones voicemail was always functioning and never full; I have AT&T phone records to prove it. So in the end you have AHS siding with a shady contractor, leaving a paying customer in the freezing cold, and not informing the customer on anything.
I always had to contact AHS and was never reached out to by either company. I had a bad feeling from the start with Jackson Mechanical and I was not wrong, nor were the countless other reviews from jaded customers. So I hope that if you get anything from this letter is that you should put your customers first and not side with the contractors you hire, but side with the people who pay the premiums. I feel humiliated by AHS for believing they would do the right thing and help their customers out. I feel humiliated for letting my family suffer those freezing nights because a home protection company failed to provide the protection they promised. You should feel ashamed for standing by a contractor that has multiple reports of poor customer service.

Contacted AHS on 11/5 to repair my oven, a technician from Sears came out 11/7 diagnosed the problem and claimed he order the part. He said it would ship to my home. Scheduled my installation appt and left. The following week no part arrived. I called Sears & AHS they said all the techs notes from the visit were lost. They sent the tech out again. He said the part I needed was no longer made and he would have to pull the part and have it refurbished. He pulled the part "hot wired" my cook top so the burners would work and left. 11/25 the part arrived. 11/26 a new tech came out started to installing the part then ask me, "Why did he pull your board? (As if I knew) The problem isn't your board, it's your touch pad," then proceeded to take the part out. He says "Let me send everything out and get the right piece repaired. It will take 10-14 days and just to let you know the oven or cook top won't work while it's disconnected." The day before Thanksgiving mind you. I WAS FURIOUS. I told him I had to cook, just leave it and I would have it repaired correctly after Thanksgiving.
I called Sears to find out how this could have happened naturally. No one knew and honestly I don't think they really cared. 12/3 next appt to come re-pull correct parts for repair. Tech called me on the way to my home. I ask him what was the turn around time. He said around 20 days being that it was two parts being replaced so which possibly meant NO oven for Christmas. I called Sears & AHS and ask what am I suppose to do with no way to cook. For a family of 5 for possible 20 days the answer AHS - "Ma'am that's not our concern." Sears - "We'll give you a $50 gift card after your oven's repaired". The customer service reps were uncaring, impatient and unknowledgeable, just down right useless. I can't tell you the amount of calls I have placed to both of these companies only to get a different answer with each call. I think their tactic is to frustrate you and wear you down so badly until you just give up because that's what I've just done given up. I'll keep my broken oven and they can keep their warranty.
We apologize for the experience you are having with the oven service request. I have reached out to have a case manager follow up with this concern. We would like to make things right, so we will look for a quick resolution.

Our garbage disposal started leaking and when I noticed it, it had flooded out underneath the sink. Submitting a claim to American Home Shield was very easy. Everyone there is always so nice whenever I call. They’re so professional and sweet and caring. The contractor that came in was so nice. He switched out disposals and fixed it in less than 15 minutes. It ha been perfect since the repair, not a problem whatsoever. American Home Shield is so reliable. You can call them anytime and they’re there. And the work gets done perfectly. When my air conditioner had gone out, they were right on it. They put me as an emergency service and had somebody here the next day. I’ve been with them for years and I won’t leave them. They are wonderful.

I wanted to report that I have similar issues with AHS not resolving home maintenance issues in a timely manner in the Tampa FL area. The issue started around prior to the week of Thanksgiving and I had a fridge repair and scheduled a service call with AHS. The technician showed up for repair and promptly charged me for the deductible of $75 dollars. He mentioned that he will come back in day or two to replace the parts. After this, he did not come back to do the repairs and complete the problem.
I had called to reach him number of times with no response. I called AHS and the AHS representative tried to reach him and there was no response. I asked if AHS can send another technician and they said that was not possible and referred me to their "Customer Relations Department". All the while, my rental residence had a broken fridge through the Thanksgiving holidays. This is my tenant so did not want her to be without a fridge during the holidays.
I finally gave up reaching or resolving through AHS and ordered a new fridge. The customer relations called me a few days and said they will resolve this issue by reimbursing me for a portion of the repair cost they would have paid the technician. The issue started around Nov 20th and still not resolved. The Customer Relations Department called me and asked me to email the Lowe's invoice which I did. I had to call the Customer Relationship Department twice to reach the person and now I am trying to resolve this with the AHS Customer Relationship Department.
At the end of the day, it's been days trying to get the appliance fixed and when appliances are broken I do not think customers can wait for days trying to call AHS and their technicians and following up. The reason why people buy AHS insurance is for peace of mind and I do not think it has far from a "peace of mind" experience. In the past, I have used AHS in the Jacksonville area for my residence and it has been a good experience so I am hoping that this is a one of experience. I also hope that in future, I do not have to go and buy a new appliance while waiting for AHS or their technicians to resolve the issue.

We have had American Home Shield for almost 3 years now and had been happy with their service until we had a leak in a few of our sinks. Since then my opinion has completely changed and I will let anyone I come in contact with know not to go with AHS. They first sent out a plumbing company called Bacon Plumbing to the house to fix the leak. When the plumbers got to the house they went and inspected the sinks and determined that one of the sinks needed a new stopper and did not have an answer for the other sinks. They ordered the stopper and returned to fix it. When they did they replaced a "pop-up assembly" with a "strainer", which is typically found in commercial buildings.
I was shocked because we have two sinks side by side and they now had completely different "stoppers", because one is not even a stopper. When I asked why they put that in rather than replace it with a stopper, they said that American Home Shield had denied the repair and that was all that they would cover. I then called AHS to see why this was and they had no record of denying any claim or even having a request. They then called Bacon Plumbing and had them come out to replace the strainer they installed with the proper stopper, which was the right thing. The only problem is that it had now been two weeks and we still had a leak!
We had no answer from Bacon Plumbing aside from they thought it could be high water pressure, but they weren't sure. At this point AHS decided to send out a second company to look at it. When the plumber arrives I told him about the Bacon Plumbing fiasco and the high water hypothesis and he explains that he used to work at Bacon Plumbing and that they are "a bunch of crooks" (no wonder they have 2 stars on yelp). He then checks the sinks and explains that the faucets are broken and the reason we have the leaks, say he'll probably have to special order them and leaves.
A few days later I receive a call explaining that our claim is being denied by AHS due to high water pressure being the cause of the leaks. AHS also mentions that a pressure reading was taken and it read 92 psi. This was shocking and extremely disappointing, as I was present the entire time each of the two companies came to my house and neither of them performed a pressure test. At this point I called my home insurance and asked if they could send a plumbing company out to test the water pressure. American Leak Detection came out and evaluated all of the sinks and performed a water pressure test, which I video taped (photo attached) 50 psi. The conclusion of what was causing the leak: broken faucets.
When I called American Home Shield to explain what had happened and have them come back and replace the faucets, which is the RIGHT THING TO DO, seeing as this is what we have been paying a home warranty for along with the $100 service fee to have someone come out. Their response, "We had two technicians come out and determine the same issue and are denying coverage." My next step is that I will be calling the State Attorney General to discuss the particular facts, State Insurance Agency, and then the BBB. Lastly if they don't take care of what they are contractually obligated to take care of I will see AHS in Small Claims Court.
Seems as if there is some confusion regarding the diagnosis we were given and what was advised to you by the contractors. I would like to have a case manager contact you today regarding this plumbing service request.

Earlier this year, I had problems with our refrigerator, and after many, many service calls, and many heated phone conversations back and forth with AHS, I eventually got them to replace it. (Albeit I paid out of pocket for a better model, it took well over three weeks just to get them to adjust the payout amount to something relatively comparable.) Now, I'm dealing with them over a ceiling fan. An $800 Casablanca ceiling fan. Over a service call that was opened back on June 30th.
The first contractor to come out failed to repair and said they'd schedule a follow up after letting AHS know the status. (Come to find out, they told AHS that the fan blades were broken off, when in fact it is just a loose flywheel.) The same contractor returned. This time saying that the flywheel needed to be replaced and that this would take upwards of 3 weeks for them to acquire the part. Obviously, I'm going to wait for the part to arrive.
Roughly a month later they show up and say they're here to repair the fan, but didn't bring any parts. Instead of being here to repair the fan, they were apparently here to dismantle it and take it back to their shop so that they could finish the repairs. Fine, whatever, I just want it fixed. Three weeks later? Nothing. They show up with my fan in a box and say that repairs are done and they're here to reinstall it! Huzzah!
Fat chance. They've completely removed the flywheel from the ceiling fan now, and it's nowhere to be found. The contractor states that they must have forgotten to put it back on and it's still at the shop. Promises to call back as soon as he gets to the shop to find it. Next day I call and they state that the fan needs a replacement flywheel. Here we are in December. My fan was finally returned to me about 2 weeks ago, still missing the flywheel. I've called into AHS at least twice a week since that time, requesting that they get the flywheel returned to me. I've spoken to Bernice, Kara, Delphine (only names I've written down) and every single time I'm being fed different lines and excuses.
Today though, today was the worst. Delphine calls me and starts with a tone of how she's going to be helpful and instead interrogates me about the fan and the status and what's going on. She immediately states that in none of my previous calls have I ever said that there was a part missing, despite the fact that that has been the whole purpose of my calls! She goes on to say that she'll contact the contractor, and places me on hold then hangs up on me. She calls back and says the contractor has stated that "they have a picture" of the fan with the flywheel still attached. That's all well and good. I have a picture of the fan without the flywheel. Big whoop. By this point, I'm starting to lose my temper as Delphine's tone and attitude throughout the call has been rude, short, and on multiple occasions, she has interrupted me, talked over me, and ignored my queries.
You can either take the $160 payout and get a new fan or there's nothing else you can do. Your fan has a lifetime warranty. Why did you make a ticket with us instead of calling them to get it repaired? It became a mantra that she continued to repeat to me. She refused to let me speak to someone else, and made it very clear that the contractor's word supersedes mine. This is the second time I've had a contractor do absolutely nothing, and in this case, the contractor more than likely removed the flywheel for their own profit.
I'm sick and tired of these 'policies' where AHS basically guarantees that if anything is actually broken, they'll replace it with the absolute cheapest option possible. As well as sending out the cheapest crappiest contractors that they could find. I've had a few contractors that were great, but for anything beyond simple repairs - it's simply not worth it. All they've done is screw me around, make up their own notes, and basically rob me blind.
We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience on these requests. There are other options available as explained by the researcher on this work order. I will have your researcher follow up concerning your issue.

I requested service on my hot water heater and they sent Donnie from K&S Plumbing out immediately to assess the situation. Seems I need a new water heater. Great! I paid my $100 fee and expected things to get done. I now have a bill for $375 plus the $100 I have already paid. I spoke with the water & electric company in the area and went over the very expensive breakdown of prices I was given. They all agreed it was very high. The contract says in #5 Water heaters: Covered - All Components & Parts, including tankless water heaters and circulating pumps, except: NOT COVERED - Auxiliary holding or storage tanks - noise - fuel storage and energy conservation unit.
Total price for me and AHS to cover is approximately $1100! Are you kidding me? This is a 42 gallon water heater. Break down prices should be embarrassing: Drain Pan $125 (cost $20), Expansion Tank $175 (costs tops $50 and doesn't need), Di-electrical nipples $75 (costs about $8 each), Ball Valve $125 (costs about $28), T&P Valve $125 (costs about $15), plus heater disposal $50, water heater $385 (costs probably $298). WOW! Do the math! Look to be about $745 in labor for a 1.5 hour install. You have to be kidding me. I think I should open a plumbing company. Oy Vey! However, luckily the repairman was a perfect gentleman. I would be too if my boss did highway robbery daily. I'm glad this company is from Pelham, AL. Southern AL doesn't need them.
I tried to explain this to 3 different service operators at AHS but they don't seem to care. Just pay your part or cancel. No other companies to give estimates. No paperwork to back up all these new additions. I have a call in to Kim ** at the City of Daphne Building Department about this new code costing $500 in additional work and my attorney at Johnstone Adams to review my AHS Contract regarding their responsibility. Will come back and add the receipt that is supposed to be emailed to me tonight. I paid by check.

I’ve had American Home Shield a little over 2 years. It’s a good program. I initially got the first service plan when I bought my house as I bought an older home and that was one of the selling points. I’ve renewed the plan twice already and I intend on keeping the plan for renewing. The last problem was the water heater was leaking and didn’t have any noticeable issues until we saw a bit of a discoloration on our ceiling because the water heater is in the attic. The ceiling had a little bit of discoloration. We went up to check and there was a leak on the pressure stabilizer. I’ve never had a problem submitting a claim to American Home Shield. I call them up, go online and tell them what’s wrong and they schedule somebody. The service is outstanding. Every time they sent technician out, they’ve gone beyond their way to make me feel I was the most important thing to them. I’ve not have one time that I’ve submitted for repair that they hadn’t been out within 2 days. The contractors were all very good and very knowledgeable. They know exactly what’s wrong. They take the time out to make sure they do the job right. Because of that, I’ve already recommended American Home Shield to several friends.

The kitchen refrigerator was not able to keep things cool. I put in a request for service. The repair company came out, stated it needed coolant. A week or so later, the repairman came back and filled it. A few weeks later the refrigerator started having the same problem and the lights weren't working, so this time I called American Home Shield to put in the repair request. The representative stated that the original company would come back out to look at it. The company came back out. The tech stated that the lines must have a leak. He ordered something to seal the leak and bulbs and fuses.
Before he could come back to fix the leak, the refrigerator leaked all over my kitchen floor and into the basement. I could not get the repair company to come back out, so I called American Home Shield. The rep from AHS finally got the repair company on the phone. The person stated that they had already been out and had ordered sealant. The water must have come from the refrigerator not keeping things cool. They would come back out to seal it when it arrived. When the tech finally showed back up to the house, I explained to him what happened and questioned where the water had come from. After further inspection of the refrigerator, the tech stated that the refrigerator would need parts rebuilt or the refrigerator replaced and he would contact me further.
A week or so later, I receive a call from a new appliance place. The old company transferred our repair request to another company. The new company came out to look at the refrigerator but refused to do any repairs. The new company stated that the old company does this to them frequently. When they cannot fix the refrigerator and they think that the appliance needs to be replaced, they transfer the job to another company. The new company came out last Tuesday, and I am still waiting on a call back from AHS’s specialty team. I have called daily since last Tuesday and was assured last Friday that someone would call me to let me know how to proceed. It is now exactly one week since the new repair company came out. The refrigerator is not keeping anything cold. Unfortunately, the cold that I am feeling is from AHS - They are certainly keeping me out in the cold on the refrigerator repair.

OK let me start by saying I never write reviews (just not my thing), however I am really irritated by American Home Shield's service or lack there of. To start, on 4 December I called and requested service for our water heater which began smoking and melted several wires and the insulation surrounding the water heater. My garage filled with smoke and smelled terrible. I called American Home Shield which ironically I was praising the day before for all the services available.
I called customer service to have a work order submitted and it went fairly smooth. I received a call the very next morning (Friday) from a local contractor to service our water heater. He told us the earliest he could get to us is on Monday. I explained to him that we really needed it sooner. He explained to us that it was not logged as an expedited request and that I needed to call American Home Shield back to get them to expedite it. I called them and they said it was not an emergency and there was nothing they could do.
To give a little more info on my end I have a 3 and 4 year old which not having hot water really gets hard with that alone. Also my aunt passed away and I had an additional 5 people in my home 2 of which were 6 and 3 yr olds. OK so back to the story, so I called the contractor who called me originally and he said that they can in fact log it as an expedited call and that he would call them back personally and get them to do so. He called me back shortly and told me that they logged it as an expedited call and I was relieved. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday all came and went and NO ONE CAME OUT. Not even a phone from American Home Shield.
I called American Home Shield today Tuesday 9 Dec to see what's going on and they informed me that no one else is available in my area to do an expedited request, and I asked the question why didn't someone call me and at least let me know that no one was coming at all to which they said they did not have an answer why! To sum up for they lack of true customer care and service and for making a hard time with the death of a family member that much harder I would not recommend them and have even talked my brother who is purchasing a new home out of going with American Home Shield. Sorry, but you guys missed the mark.
We will work on improving services so that customers can avoid delays such as this. Sorry for the experience you had and we will contact the contractor to ensure they complete the water heater replacement. Please let us know if you need any additional assistance.

Our heating system went down on Nov 18, and we called AHS that same day. Yet 3 weeks later (today is 12/9), AHS STILL has not made a decision for what to fix. The first contractor (COMFORT FIRST HEATING & COOLING INC) came next day, claims a previous AHS contractor did not install the board properly, but never submitted the diagnosis report. The second contractor (CAROLINA AIR HEATING AND COOLING INC) came one week later, said the heat exchanger is broken, but did not submit the diagnosis report for over 1 week and at the end AHS asked the first contractor to come again. The first company came last Thursday 12/4 to take a photo, and THAT'S IT. No diagnosis report submitted within 48 hrs. Nothing.
So after 3 weeks and 20+ phone calls, there is still no resolution for what to do with the heating system. I was told on at least 5 separate occasions that AHS would call me back to follow up, and not even once did this happen. I find it appalling that we can't get an answer for what will be done even after THREE WEEKS, and this is in a home with 2 toddler children and evenings consistently in the 20s to low 30s. At this point, I would have to assume that this is the corporate tactic/strategy for AHS, to keep stalling on fixing the heating system until I have to go out and pay for my own fix, and that AHS would simply claim it's not covered by the warranty at that point.
The customer reps repeatedly claim it's problems with the contractors, but these are AHS approved contractors! At some point AHS has to take responsibility. I find it unacceptable that I am repeatedly lied to by AHS reps, and that there is no mechanism in place to elevate an issue to a manager if a solution is not in place within a week. I also find it amusing that the customer reps claim there is no manager I can speak to.
We would like to make things right Sam, thanks for bringing this to our attention! I would be more than glad to have a case manager follow up with this issue and assist. Someone will contact you today for resolution!

They send people over who are unqualified to do the work and then charge you. Took 4 visits to fix small part on washer. Tried to get my heating fixed, and now I'm getting billed for no service rendered and I am forced to use the same contractor or they charge you again - so now I'm going with my own contractor. If I could do it again I would put the money I used to for American Home Shield away and use that for my repairs. You pay for it in constant hassles with them and lies and incompetence from their vendors.
Sorry for the inconvenience on both service calls. I will have a case manager reach out to you concerning this matter. We would like to make things right Drew!

I recently filed for a claim with American Home Shield for a hot water heater; the copper mine in the wall had leaked. The claims process was fine. I did everything online and it went well. The contractor was very responsive and called me right away. The second issue I had was for the dryer repair. I was expecting a call but I didn't receive anything. I waited actually about a week and a half and made a call to them. Then I scheduled an appointment and called to confirm the appointment that day. They actually didn't show up the day they were supposed to. They showed up a little early. Thankfully I was home but it was kind of a hassle. Everything is fine now so I'm happy. So far the experience has been good. American Home Shield has quick response time. The website is really good, easy to access and put in claims.

Two days before Thanksgiving, our hot water heater started leaking out the bottom onto our pantry floor. We called and requested service and were told a technician would be out the next day to look at it. No one showed up or called. The day after Thanksgiving, we received a message that an appointment should have been scheduled and if it had not then we should call. By the time I received the message it was past business hours and we had to wait until Monday to call back. An appointment was then scheduled for Tuesday.
A technician came out and all he did was write down the information written on the side of the water heater so that a new one could be ordered. We could have given this information over the phone a week earlier. The technician also could not answer a question about why the water heater kept filling up after I drained it the first day it leaked. We have a garden hose hooked up and running through the house through the back door to keep it drained. The technician indicated we would probably have the new water heater installed by the end of the week. Two days later I called to find out when they might be coming out. I was told they were out of water heaters and had back ordered them not expecting any in until the following week.
Today, it has been two weeks since we have had hot water with no expectation to have it replaced soon. This is absolutely not acceptable. I could have bought a water heater at Home Depot and had it installed the next day and it would have been worth it compared with the grief and frustration we have suffered. We are definitely dumping this home warranty as soon as we can after we get our hot water back.
We apologize for the delay Keith. If you would like other options I would be more than happy to have a case manager reach out to you. Holidays can sometimes delay service, but you should not have experienced any delays in your request. If you need assistance please reply back.

I called in May 2014 when my air conditioner was not working properly. As usual, I call AHS, which I have been a customer with for 11 years. They called a contractor that came out to my house and told me it was fine. It was set on 73 degrees and it was 80 degrees inside. I have asthma and need to be in cooler temperatures. I am on oxygen at night and need to stay cool. They cleaned the line from my split system and said it should help. It did not. I called them back and they sent the same contractor and still they stated nothing was wrong. I have been to a great deal of places and they seem to stay cool. I called AHS again and they stated the contractor said nothing was wrong.
I decided to call other contractors. I had three different ones to come to let me know what was wrong. All of them stated that the duct work was loose in different parts of the attic so I was losing cool air in the attic. They all stated that no water should ever be in the emergency pan because it is an emergency pan! I could not take it any longer and when AHS refused to do anything about it, I proceeded to having my system replaced. Once I did, it stayed cool and at the temperature it was on with any deviation. I do not appreciate this type of service. They have been good when I had other issues in the past but when it came to the heating and air, they have not.
I sent AHS pictures of my unit which fell into pieces when brought from the attic because it was rusted out from sitting in water, which it should not have been. I also sent them the bill that I had to replace the unit. All I want was some reimbursement for my expense since they refused to repair the unit. They seem not to care at all. They also refused to pay for any of it. I had to replace the entire split system. Not so happy but staying cool in the summer and warm in the winter! I feel they need to reimburse for part of my system or at least refund what I had to pay for a contractor to come. They will do nothing!

American Home Shield came over and replaced a bunch of stuff. Submitting a claim was not a problem. I've had a lot of work. I've signed multiple contracts with them for multiple homes. There are times when I've not been satisfied, but generally I am satisfied with them. Most of the contractors they have sent have been pretty good. Everything was fine after they came. The only problem we've had is we live in Hawaii and sometimes they are not able to find a person to perform certain work and there's a lot of delay. Our experience with them has been relatively good.

We acquired this warranty when we bought our house. Right after we moved in they tried to send a bill for more money. We were able to get the previous owners to pay it but I don't know why they kept asking for money. A few months later our dishwasher stopped working. I sent in a work order via the Internet. Heard nothing. Call the next day. They said they didn't have a work order because they don't have a vendor in the area so they deleted our work order. Through talking to them, they said they would contact a local vendor and that vendor should contact us. They gave me that vendors phone number and name. I waited two days then contacted the vendor. They said they don't have any work order from American Home Shield for us so they can't do anything. So that means I have to wait on hold again to try to contact American Home Shield so they can BS me again. They only want to take your money. They don't want to help you. I would never recommend or use this company.

I recently filed a claim with American Home Shield for a heating problem and the service guy fixed it. A couple of times AHS has disappointed me but on the other hand they've come through a couple of times. I never had any problem with the service particularly but I got rounded by paying someone out of my pocket instead of using AHS. It happened to me twice and I haven't forgotten about them. First one was when my garbage disposal broke and they replaced it with the biggest piece of crap I've ever seen in my entire life; even the plumber that put it in said it is. So what I did is I took it out and bought something for $100 and put it in myself and I have no further problem. But I don't think that's really fair because I don't think I should have had to go buy a new one. That's actually one of the things that was covered.
The second time is my hot water heater broke a few years back and AHS sent someone down to my house to repair it. He looked at it and then he told me it's going to cost a little over $800 to repair it. The fact is I've got it done for like $275 including the heater. So I wasn't too pleased there and it still stings a little when I think of how they tried to get to me.
On the other hand, I have to say with a grain of salt if they hadn't fixed my heater, it might have cost me a lot more money than it did. Overall, submitting a claim with AHS was easy and I never had any problem at all with their reps. So I have to look at it from both sides but it will be very hard for me to tell someone that AHS is not going to let them down because frankly they do. But on the other hand, they've been pretty good to me as well but I'm not too happy with AHS.
Thank you for sharing the feedback Bob! We appreciate your response to some of the claims filed. We do not order garbage disposals so it is up to the technician to get the customer a great builder standard garbage disposal. As far as water heaters, we rely on the contractor to tell us what they need to replace a covered item and we go by the contract. However, if the items are not needed then we do not require the customer to pay anything additional. That is where the cash in lieu option comes in. We will look into the contractors associated with these service requests who have provided information to us and work on improving our list of providers.

I've been an AHS subscriber since 2008 and up until this week have had excellent service, experienced great customer service and have on many occasions recommended AHS to friends and co-workers. A couple of years back, AHS even replaced entire AC unit after it became unserviceable. This week, I placed a service request because the pilot light on my gas hot water heater would not stay lit. The service technician came out and identified the cause and the parts that would be needed to repair the unit. I was told in a follow up call from the servicing company that same day that it would be 3-5 days before the parts would arrive.
Both the servicing company and AHS told me that AHS does not allow overnight shipping of parts, so now I have to wait at least 3-5 days for the parts to arrive from Whirlpool. While it may not be an emergency according to AHS, it sure is an inconvenience! Like others have mentioned, I asked to speak with a AHS supervisor and was directed to her voicemail. I was assured I'd be called back but as you might have guessed, no call back. After this repair I intend to cancel my subscription to AHS. I figure I can put the $53/mo away in a separate savings account for future repairs that can be done the same day.

I request to speak to a manager and get put on a "wait list" for manager to return my call. Last communication I had with a supervisor, I was advised there is an issue between the Cash Out dept and the Authorization dept. I don't believe it should require me to call 3x per day for 3 weeks to get this issue fixed. All I want to know is "how much AHS will pay towards replacement of the hot water heater?" AHS has asked 4x for the plumber to supply additional information, for which plumber has spent multiple hours ensuring they have the proper information. Plumber has indicated he will NOT continue to provide the same information to AHS as he is not being paid for every consultation he provides. My charge will be $707.00 plus the $75.00 fee. American Home Shield will not pay any of the cost to reconnect a new heater or install a modified vent through the roof. The plumber said it wasn't a code violation so AHS won't pay. They say they will pay for undetectable pre-existing conditions. Don't ever believe that. I feel like I have been scammed. I do not have $707.00 to have this repaired, and the heater is still leaking. I thought I was doing the smart thing by buying this warranty for the last four years.

I contacted AHS to have our dishwasher serviced for an extremely loud noise. Keep in mind the brand is called the Maytag Quiet series. AHS stated the unit would not be covered because there was no failure with the unit, i.e., the unit was still cleaning the dishes. I could not disagree more. The unit arrives from the manufacturer without making the loud noise. The loud noise developed because of a mechanical failure. AHS stated noise is not caused by mechanical failure. I fail to see how a noise would develop without a part failing. Furthermore, the technician stated the motor and pump should be replaced to resolve the noise issue. However, AHS continued to state the noise was not due to these parts failing. The noise is a loud grinding sound that can be heard throughout the entire house and vibrates the counters. I am very displeased in AHS, and would recommend you avoid this company for your home warranty.
The service provided by the company is defined by one word: Scam - A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle. If anyone here has had a similar issue in being denied coverage, please contact me at this email ** . I believe we have enough collective evidence to proceed with a class action lawsuit. AHS may easily dismiss its customers, however it must still answer to government regulation and fair business practices. This is not an overnight remedy, but collectively and patiently we can achieve just compensation from this reprehensible company.

Since I don't have direct access to internet, I clearly told them to send me the hard copy of the contract and warranty related brochure to my billing address in NJ not to the rental property in CA. But nothing happened so far. I made multiple requests by calling the AHS and through emails. One time I was told they sent it out to the address on file but I told them multiple times why can they pay attention. It is an easy and simple request and wondering why they failed? Still no response from them. I do not think they are sincere about the client needs. By comparing to other home warranty company; I always got the hard copy of the policy or contract related material through the USPS. I think it is important to everyone to have a hard copy of contract in hand for reference.

I have been a customer of American Home Shield for many years at different residences. What I find common is that the tech they send out are in generally not concerned about fixing the problem correctly. They don't seem to have the interest, but after several attempts it get done - ok, but not great. My last experience was a replacement of my AC unit. AHS refuses to pay anything towards my cost. My mistake was not contacting AHS before I contracted to replace my AC unit. At the time of the replacement, I did not know my wife had renewed the contract with AHS. She had come down with depression and anxiety a little over a year ago and she didn't know she had renewed the contract. I only found out about our service contract when I received a renewal letter in the mail a few days after the work was completed. According to the contract, they are not required to pay anything towards my AC replacement if I don't contact them first.
I sent them a letter Oct. 18th requesting some reimbursement. In this letter I told them that if they did not provide some reimbursement, do not renew our service contract. I receive their denial reply some time after Nov 22, but was charged a renewal fee on my credit card on Nov 21st. (The date stamp on the envelope from AHS is Nov 20th, but the date on the denial letter is Nov 2nd.) Isn't it convenient for them to wait until they have charged me a renewal fee before I receive the denial letter? I have tried to call AHS to cancel numerous times, but the typical wait time is in excess of 30 minutes to talk to the cancellation department. They do not call back. One other poor experience I had with AHS is when my 2-speed energy efficient pool pump failed. The AHS contractor replaced the pump with a single speed standard efficiency pool pump. Higher operating cost for me, but saving for AHS.

We had problems with our range. It kept going out. We called American Home Shield and requested service. The Sears technician was sent out and he checked our range which is a Kitchen Aid Super BA. The technician said that the power board was bad. In order to fix the power board they would have to take the power board out, send it off and have it built, because they don't make that power board anymore and I asked them what would we use to cook and bake on? We was told that they would have to send it off for repairs and they didn't know what we would do while being repaired because they don't rent anything while the board is out for repairs.
The value of the range is $1350.00 and they told me to repair it would cost $216.51. They told me I could take the $216.51 and put it toward a new stove or let them take the board out to repair it which would take a month. I asked to speak to a supervisor which they said they would call me back in 48 hours but they never did neither have the technician which work for Sears and was paid the $75.00. That sucks!!!!!!!!!!! In theory, the procedure with AHS is amazing. You call them, and they set up a contractor near you to come out and assess the problem. You pay that contractor the initial fee, and everything else is covered. My problem is that if you are in a rural area, they don't check a map. AHS can send a contractor out that is miles away. This sometimes makes it harder for appointment setting. Still, I am a fan of AHS.

We called American Home Shield and that was it -- they got someone, they came out, and I told them the problem. We've had American Home Shield as long as we have because we've been pretty much satisfied. I recommended them to a couple of my neighbors, to a lot of people, a lot of homeowners that have had problems and they didn’t have the coverage. I told them, “Well, then you need to sign up with American Home Shield. I didn’t have any complaints with them at all over the past couple of years.” Usually in the past, there may have been some issues of getting things done but recently since we’ve had to have people to come out with our AC or our hot water heater, etc., we’ve been very satisfied.

My home is 30 years old. I have a mix of copper and PVC plumbing from the previous owners. I have been a customer with AHS for 7 years now. I have had to report plumbing leaks a couple of times in the past and never had a problem until now. I recently found a leaking valve just above my hot water heater that AHS replaced less than two months ago. While inspecting the leak, I noticed another pin hole leak a little further down the same pipe. This pin hole leak is within six inches of where I had another leak repaired in the past. Since this leak was dripping on some boxes we had stored, I put a rubber patch on the leak. I requested a service call from AHS but was unable to get a plumber out to my house for five days due to Thanksgiving.
The plumber showed up today and told my wife that because I had put a patch on the pin hole leak he couldn't repair it. He replaced the valve over the hot water heater (which should have been done when the heater was replaced). This is also the same plumbing company that replaced the hot water heater. I called AHS customer service and got a customer service representative who was not very helpful at all. I am researching different home warranty services now, since my past interactions with AHS have not all been positive and this latest one is just the end of the rope for me. I am not happy at all.
I can have a case manager follow up with this plumbing request Charles! We would like to review the issue and try to resolve the matter. Sorry for the confusion on coverage and the delay in service!

Our high end, high efficiency broiler stopped working and AHS dispatched a technician promptly. However the technician was inexperienced and unable to diagnose the issue. Several unnecessary parts were ordered which were counted towards our limit. Second technician, different company, again misdiagnosed issue - exhausted what was left of limit. Broiler inoperable for two months after multiple complaints that repairs were done incorrectly. Hired independent technician, broiler issue correctly repaired within two days. We had to pay out $800+ out of pocket and AHS says that they did what they were obligated to do and the rest is on us. This is after talking to two different supervisors and multiple customer service representatives. None of their providers provided us with any receipts and when we requested them, neither the technicians or AHS is willing to provide them.

I called customer service in July to cancel my policy. The customer service rep told me it's all taken care of. A month later I received notice that my account is late, it will be sent to collection agency. I called the company. The rep said the service was cancelled, but it was not cancelled at the billing department. She said it's taking care of now. Few weeks later I received another collection notice from collection agency. I called again. The company said we must not sent the notice to the collection department. It's taking care of now. Few weeks later and another few weeks later, now it's December, I continue to receive numerous harassment collection letters from American Home Shield's collection agency. My advice, never use them. They will frustrate you to no end and ruin your credit if you want to cancel your policy with them. At this point I believe they purposely set up this trick, so you can never get out and they use collection agency to threaten you to pay.

I had a problem with the dryer. It stopped heating and was also making a noise. I filed the claim online. They asked a description of what was the problem and a number to reach. I received a call back within a day and the contractor came out within three or four days. The first day, they looked at the problem and they had to get some parts so they ordered that, got that in about two days, and they were back on the third day. After their service, the dryer is good. The heating has certainly gotten fixed. There's still a squeaking noise but I guess that's due to the age of the dryer. It was basically a good service. The cost of fixing it was almost the same as getting a new dryer. I was wondering why American Home Shied did not opt for that.

Hunt trucking called prior to Thanksgiving and said they only delivered on Fridays so I would have to wait another week. I was given a phone number for another company that was to install it when it arrived. The other company called on Monday to advise me that they could not do the job. They said they had been trying to contact AHS. I called AHS afterwards to ascertain when I would have someone to install the unit. Still no answer from AHS. My unit will be here on Friday December 5th. I feel that if a company has as many reviews as this, I can't possibly expect them to do what they say they will do. I'm cooked. AHS is fine for small things that cost about the same as your service call to fix, but once repairs cost more than you paid AHS, service goes away. For right about a month so far I have been trying to get my microwave fixed/replaced. They can't get part so it has to be replaced. The problem comes in that I have high appliances in my home and AHS will only replace with low end products. If you have stainless you are out of luck. My microwave was around $800 new, the current model is also about $800 but I was able to find it on cyber Monday sale for $540 with tax, great, but AHS will only give 367. Now after paying the $75 service call, my replacement cost is 248 out of pocket and that does not count the monthly dues I pay to AHS or my gas and I had to install it myself or pay more out of pocket.
I have been waiting on my washer to be repaired for months now, I don't think it will every get repaired. Problem started with a noise while spinning, turned out to be pennies near the pump. Replaced the pump, great. While now the drain cycle is very loud and about once a week I get an error code that states the drain cycle is taking to long. The water drains but the pump continues to pump air. AHS called this normal because it does still complete the wash.
My AC was replaced and at first I was very happy, until I learned it was replace with a much lower model that burns almost double the power. By the time I figured that out, there was nothing I could do. I had another problem with wet spots near one of my AC vents. Guy came out and told me it was no big deal just a little extra moister in the air today being it looked like it was drying up. Next morning, my ceiling is come down with water from a drain over flow, guess what, now its not covered. I also had problems with techs breaking clips on things during repairs, that is also not covered and a few things now have lose panels and make noise.
AHS is good for simple fixes and if you have low end things in your home, but if you do, why would you spend the money on coverage?
We are thankful for the feedback on your service calls Daniel. Sorry that you were not happy with the options offered when replacing your microwave. If you have an open service request for the washer, I would be more than glad to have someone contact you about that. Also I will forward you complaint regarding the repairs on the air conditioning unit so that the contractor on that service call can be re-evaluated to ensure they are a qualified company to work with. Original Review: Dec. 2, 2014
We reported a water leak on Sunday evening, Nov. 30. Water is running out of outside pipe and appears to be going into the wall. The contractor assigned was 25 miles away. We called the contractor first thing Monday morning to explain the urgency of the situation. The contractor said they only come to our area on Wednesdays and they already have 6 appointments. There was no guarantee they would get to us until the following week. When I explained we had water running out of the pipe, they suggested we call AHS back. I contacted AHS before 9 am and explained the situation. The first representative I talked to was very helpful and appeared to understand the urgency. She indicated she was sending it to dispatch and we should hear from dispatch or a plumber within 4 hours.
When I had not heard anything at 4 pm, I called back. I was once again on hold for about 20 minutes. I talked to another representative who said dispatch was still trying to locate a plumber. She told me to call back if I had not heard anything within 4 hours. I called back at 9 pm and got a recording that the Status Department closed at 7 pm. I called again and got the Service Department. I got the same response. Dispatch had not located a plumber and I could request outside authorization. She said she would transfer me to the Outside Authorization Department. I asked her to be sure they were open, since the status department closed at 7. I was once again put on hold. Another representative finally came on the line and I had to repeat all of the same information for about the 4th time today.
Just after I gave her my phone number, the call was cut off. I thought since I had just given her my number, surely she would call me back. I waited several minutes and had to call back again. One more time, I had to give them all of my information and the representative told me there was no Outside Authorization Department and I had been talking to the Service Department. When I explained one more time what was going on, she asked if I wanted to do an outside authorization. I asked what that entailed. She said I would have to pay upfront. If the plumber agreed to contact AHS for authorization, they would reimburse me, but only the amount they approved.
I admit that I was frustrated and not as polite as I had been on calls 2, 3, or 4. She was not helpful at all. Since it was 9:30 pm, I felt certain I was not going to be reimbursed for a plumber that agreed to come out at this time of night. The water has been running for over 24 hours and I am certain that any damage that could be done is done. I guess I will start this process all over again in the morning. We have been customers for about 15 years. When we lived in a larger city, we had more consistent service. Since living in a smaller town, it has been very sporadic. Sometimes, the service is provided very quickly. Other times, it takes days. We have been told by several contractors they will not contract with AHS because of the difficulty in getting things approved and slow payment. I am researching new home warranty companies this evening.

My heater stopped working and I called American Home Shield (AHS) on Fri 11/21 to setup a service appointment. The heater is something that is clearly covered under my contract with AHS. The contractor Tom from Climate Control Heating & Air LLC called me on Sunday 11/23 and he came out to look at my heater on Mon 11/24. The contractor Tom said the air handler unit had to be replaced and he would have to talk to his representative to get the approvals to do the work. I called Tom on Tues 11/25 to follow up and he said the same thing that he was waiting to talk to his "rep" to figure out what was covered and what I would have to pay out of pocket. I then called AHS on Wed 11/26 to follow up and they stated that they have no record that the contractor even came out to the house to look at the broken heater. The contractor is supposed to file some kind of report once they go out to look at the property. The AHS rep said they would try to contact the contractor to follow up.
On Friday 11/28, I called AHS again and the agent stated that AHS has not heard from the contractor and they would have to talk to the "rep" or the contractor about doing any work before proceeding. I also called the contractor Tom directly on Fri 11/28 to follow up and I left a voicemail - never heard back. It is now Monday 12/1 - I have called AHS twice today. The first time at 1:30PM EST - I spoke to Kevin and he said the contractor told AHS that he would not do the work and AHS would have to get authorization to get another contractor to do the work. Kevin said that someone from the authorization department would call me and if I didn't hear from anyone to call back by 5PM EST.
I called back and 4:50PM EST and explained to the agent Teresa that I have not had heat for over a week and it has 20 degrees outside and more snow is coming and I just needed this to be fixed. The rep was not understanding and actually rude stating that I have to follow the policies of their company about communication and service. When I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager she declined and stated she would follow up with the service department. She then came back and said that the contractor was now approved to do the work and that he would contact me to schedule an appointment. I asked what is the timeline, on when I will hear from the contractor. Teresa said she did not know. Earlier today I was told that the contractor did not want to do the work. Now he wants to do it? What is going on here?
Bottom line I have not had heat since Fri 11/21 - called AHS the same day. Tom from Climate Heating and Air came out to look at it on Mon 11/24, and I have got nothing but the run around from both the contractor and AHS. It is now 12/1 and it has been over a WEEK with no heat, snow on the ground and daytime temps in the 30's and night time into the 20's. I signed a contract and pay good money to AHS for peace of mind. This is extremely disappointing, frustrating and flat out wrong the way I have been treated by this company and the contractor they hired. I will be seeking legal counsel shortly.
Sorry to hear about this experience Jeff. I will have a case manager reach out to you concerning this delay and issue. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Submitting a claim was easy because they always made a fast and efficient way to do it. The contractor gave me a heads up call that he was coming. He arrived and prepared everything but because of the leak, it was so muddy underneath the house and it was so narrow that he thought it would be a good idea to leave it alone for two or three days to let it dry out. On the follow-up, the same guy didn't show up and it took them a few more days to get here, so it was delayed. I was not thrilled that it took a while for them to reschedule with a new person. Having a service with American Home Shield is not worth it anymore. A water heater broke down on a Saturday, they placed an expedited call to their service provider to fix it. It took me placing repeated calls to the service provider and Home Shield to get the two connected, since the service provider claimed they never received a work order. Also, with expedited service, it is going to take them over three days to get the water heater replaced. This is nonsense, since I can walk into Home Depot and they will replace it within the same day. With all the money that I am paying home shield monthly, I could just place an order directly and get better service.
The operator I had to deal with, she was rude and disrespectful when I questioned the turn around time. Advice, save your money and pay a service provider directly, you will get better service. The service providers they send to your home all have questionable reviews.

I have never been so unhappy with a company as I am with AHS. The repair people for both plumbing and HVAC issues are the lowest of the low bidders. When AHS assigns a company to you, check the reviews for them online, and if not good ask for another company. Ask about "Cash in Lieu" if none of the contractors rate well for your area. I ended up having to replace AND PAY FOR my HVAC system after AHS contractor broke it then lied to them. It wasn't until 2 weeks after I cancelled my policy that I had PG&E come out to check my heater that PG&E capped it off as hazardous. I contacted American Home Shield on Monday about a water leak under the slab of my 22 year old house. The earliest the local plumbing company they contract with could be at my house was between 2:00 and 5:00 on Wednesday. At 2:30 on Wednesday, I hadn't heard from the plumber, so I called. I was told they would have to reschedule me for between 10:00 and 1:00 on Friday. Finally, around 11:00 on Friday, a plumber showed up. After tearing out large sections of my wall, scratching his head, and general indecisiveness, the plumber said he would have to come back the next day (Saturday).
The plumber came back Saturday morning, ripped up the carpet in the bedroom closet adjacent to my bathroom, busted a hole in my slab, dug a bunch of dirt out and made a mess in my closet. He then decided that the leaking water line wasn't accessible from the location he was working in and said it was under my bathtub. He called American Home Shield and told them there were two options.
First, he told them, the bathtub could be removed and a direct repair could be made to the leaking line. The second option, he said, was to run a new line from the water meter, under the slab, and tie it into the manifold in the location he'd already exposed. He said that American Home Shield wouldn't even let him fully explain the second option. He told me that they simply said "no way" and put him on hold.
While the plumber was on hold with American Home Shield, they called me and told me that I would have to remove and then replace the bathtub at my own expense. The woman told me that they would not pay for what seems to be the more sensible option: running a new line. I was told that I would have to remove the tub, call them when I had it done, and they would send the same company back to repair the leak.
Five days after I called American Home Shield, the only things that have been done are ripping up my carpet, removing large sections of wall from my bedroom closet, busting a big hole in the floor of my house, making a mess, and charging me American Home Shield's $75 fee. I cannot turn the water on at my house because of the leak under the slab, which means I can't live here. Now I'm being told by American Home Shield that I have to essentially destroy my bathroom myself, at my own expense, so the plumber can come in and make another hole in the floor of my house and maybe find and repair the leak. Once that's done, I have to put my bathroom back together, again at my own expense, and hope for the best.
I called American Home Shield and asked them if they would pay $1000 (the amount they'll pay for a repair of a slab leak anyway) towards the cost of running a new water line, and cash out my contract so I could cover the balance of the cost for it, since I DO NOT plan on renewing it or ever dealing with them again. I was told that they don't cover the cost of running a new water line, even if it is the solution that makes more sense, and they would not cash out my contract.
This is my first (and hopefully my last) experience with American Home Shield. As far as first impressions go, American Home Shield seems to me to be a bunch of crooks who are only interested in collecting the purchase price of the contract and not paying to have a supposedly "covered" claim repaired. I haven't completely ruled out the option of suing them in small claims court.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have a case manager assigned already and they will call to discuss the service request. We're sorry to hear about this experience!

Purchased home with AHS Warranty. I had emergency plumbing problem - sewer backing up into home. AHS couldn't find anyone to come. 5 phone calls & 22 hrs later AHS still searching for plumber - but we can't live in hazardous situation any longer. Requested authorization to call our plumber. There was no consideration of situation we were in. That's how they make their money. No one can wait for emergency repairs, so you pay out of pocket, for peace of mind - which cost AHS nothing.
Our company understands there will be emergency problems and we apologize if you were not offered any options to get a contractor out to the home. I will forward this feedback to the appropriate department so that we can look into this issue. But we will also have a case manager give you a call concerning the delay.

My AC quit running several months ago. I called American Home Shield and explained to them what had happened. They told me that within a few hours I was supposed to get a phone call from the contractor that was gonna come out to find out what the problem was. The claims representative was very cordial and very nice. The contractor was also nice and very informative. He explained to me everything that was going on. Since this has happened before, I kind of had an idea what my problem was, so when he came out, he told me what he was going to do. He put in the new piece that had failed, and once he did that, everything worked fine. The AC has been great after the repair. I've had very good service with American Home Shield. They were very nice, attended to my services almost immediately, so I've got no complaints. I've had good service and I'm very pleased with them. I haven't even considered going with anyone else. We've had quite an excursion, three things happening. Our refrigerator had to be replaced because they couldn't find the parts for it. So we got a new refrigerator. The guys were just awesome, I have no complaints. And then after that, the pump on our well decided it was going to quit, and we got that done. In the meantime, the biggest problem that we had was getting an electrician because our fuse box outdoors, the 200 amp, was gonna blow. The claims representatives were really good. They did what they had to do - no problems whatsoever. After the repair, the well pump and refrigerator were good, but we did have a problem trying to get an electrician because electricians are always booked, but we found one that we got ourselves. Other than that, things went really good. American Home Shield is very, very outstanding.

This was a horrible experience and due to the company that AHS hired to do the work I had to buy a window unit and live in one bedroom during the summer time in South Texas after my A/C stopped working. Twice they came out to "fix it" and twice their attempts failed, but every time they came out they demanded another co-payment, FOR THE SAME REPAIR!!!!!
Each time I had to call AHS and remind them that the warranty stated that the $55 service charge was only to be paid once if the same problem occurred on the same appliance. Then they finally agreed to replace the system but since it was a condo that had been built in 1984 they decided that they would not replace it with a modern, up to date A/C and heater unit so I had to wait over a week while they scoured the country to find the exact same unit that had been installed in '84. Believe it or not they found the very last one in a warehouse somewhere in Dallas and then had to haul it 250 miles to my condo. It took 2 days to install it and each day my home was left a mess with filth and debris everywhere.
Each day the company demanded another $55 for the work, claiming that was what their contract stated and each day I had to call AHS to get it straightened out and complain. Then after a few months the A/C started to blow warm air and I had a local company come out and look at it. They found that the copper pipe that goes to the outside compressor had not been fully soldered so the coolant leaked out. AHS stated that the company that THEY had hired to do the work was no longer contracted with them and that I would have to contact them in order to get the cost of having the pipe junction re-soldered reimbursed to me. This was the worst experience I've ever had with my home and AHS is the absolute worst company ever. I later found out that AHS gets sued quite a bit due to the terrible service and failure to comply with the warranty and contracts they sell to home buyers. Don't EVER use them!
Thank you for sharing your feedback about your service request. We wish that we could have made things right. Sorry for the inconvenience! We will use this feedback to improve our service contractors list to prevent customers from having a contractor that performs work like the one that serviced you. We do not hire contractors, but they do contract with warranty companies for more work in their area. If you have an active contract, I would be glad to have a case manager contact you concerning this matter.

I contacted American Home Shield in October about my heat not working. A month later, and many phone calls, my heat still does not work. They sent out a contractor who misdiagnosed the issue. After which, AHS sent them out 2 more times, each time a failure. The last time the contractor informed me that he will let me know what's next. After not hearing from them, I call American Home Shield to find that they have closed the case prematurely, no one letting me know.
During this process, there has been a gross lack of communication from both the contractors and American Home Shield. The only time I know what's going on or what should be done next is if I pursue it myself, having to call both sides constantly. At most, all American Home Shield has ever done is put things into their "notes" and "send another request to the contractor." There has been no escalated action or urgency on their part. They've refused to switch contractors for me or to put any accountability on the contractor. Finally after demanding to speak to a supervisor, the rep offered to submit my case to the research department where I would be assigned a case manager. I don't have much faith that the case manager will reach out to me or even if it was escalated. Meanwhile, we're approaching December without any heat.
We are glad that you brought this to our attention Tina. I would be more than happy to have our service resolution department reach out to you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to make things right.

My husband submitted the claim and talked to somebody. When the contractor came and he looked at the paper and said that we have a charge of $75 because we have American Home Shield, it worked for us because it would have been $250 if we didn't have them because he had to come back twice. The dishwasher is quiet after the repair. Everybody should have American Home Shield because they basically cover all of your appliances. It's wonderful.

I am writing this review because I am the midst of attempting to work with AHS on a hot water heater ticket we opened on 11/10/14. I have made 8 calls to AHS and still cannot reach someone with authority and common sense. I have made 5 different requests to have an upper management supervisor contact me to discuss my issue/complaint. I made two different calls yesterday and was told there was a 24 to 48 hour call back window for one to call me. Here I am past that time frame and I have still never heard from one. We are in our 7th year of having an AHS warranty and have seen the highs and lows of dealing with them. Most of the issues we have experienced are due to the shoddy/rinky dink contractors they tend to use.
Many of them tell you one thing to your face and then report or tell AHS something different so they can cheat the homeowner. (We have a written document that was accidentally left in our home by one of their contractor's service reps. The document outlined the actions the rep should follow to require the homeowner to incur more of the expenses and to force the homeowner to place more service calls.) Some of the contractors are great but when you get a bad one, like the one who was assigned our hot water heater ticket, you get caught between the contractors lies and the AHS "customer service" reps telling you they must go by what their contractor states. When I read Robert's comments about the $515.00 in code charges he would incur I laughed out loud. That was the same amount that was quoted to me.
I took the parts listed as "code modifications" listed in an AHS letter I received and performed some research. They listed 'T&P as one of those items. That is a temperature and pressure gauge. I found out this was a standard, included feature, on a basic Whirlpool hot water heater I could purchase at Lowe's for $398.00. They also listed a drip pan. Lowe's has them for $22.00 but the contractor told AHS they would have to charge me $85.00. I decided to call the Code Department for the City of McKinney and was able speak to the individual who would come out to inspect the completed work. When I told him about my hot water heaters, their location in the garage, and the specific setup he laughed and stated they had no such code which would require me to have a drip pan. He went on to state the City actually had no "defined code" other than adherence to the manufacturer requirement and industry defined standards.
I ended up providing him with all the parts listed in the letter and he stated all of them were recommendations/requirements of the 2012 IRC, which is the International Residential Code Council's 2012 version of their trade group guidelines. So basically, AHS is standing behind this curtain of code language to not have to pay for having work completed in a prudent and reasonable manner. There is much more to this issue but I am going to stop at this point. I am hoping this review will prompt AHS to have intelligent, intuitive, level headed, rational upper manager call me to get my situation corrected ASAP. I pay for a warranty and expect it will be honored. AHS staff should be reminded the premiums we homeowners pay, support their company and pay for THEIR salaries and benefits. Without us you would not have a job!!!
Hello David, a case manager will contact you to resolve this matter with the hot water heater.

We had 3 repair services come in on different dates which we are still with the last one who is Ramb's Appliance. First of all I cannot believe that a refrigerator is not considered an emergency to have repaired. This is not like my washer or dryer is out and I can do without it for 3 weeks. First person to come in looked at it and did nothing. Second person to come in said it has something to do with the freon leaking as well as the temp control which is what I originally had told AHS because of a gas like smell in our home. Third person came in and fixed the temp control, but still stated that we needed a compressor. Mind you that the compressor and temp control was changed in 2012. Here it is day before Thanksgiving and they will not return until next Wednesday. AHS sucks and I will not renew my contract in the coming year. I'm sure they will be having a good Thanksgiving.

But we do recommend Day's heating and air-conditioning (which was out of Cape City, little further away).” So I said, “Okay.” In the end, I’m very pleased. They were very professional people. They did a really great job. They even found out part of the work was already covered under the warranty of the air-conditioning itself. They went the extra mile for American Home Shield, because we had no idea that part was still under warranty. So it was a very pleasant experience. Very well done.
I highly recommend American Home Shield. It’s a very good company to do business with. We've only had to use them a few times. But it has worked very well having them. We’re an older couple and we’re in a very rural area. When you get someone to come out here, just the service call alone can be very costly. And in most cases, they have to come out at least two times. First time is to assess and the second time to repair if it needs a part. You can really run into a whole bunch of money.

Most recent issue is the kitchen trash disposal and this had happened multiple times and I don't know how it was between American Home Shield and the subcontractor but there are lot of room for improvement for communication and coordination. The contractor just show up without calling the resident. In this case, it was my tenant. Fortunately sometimes, people are there; sometimes they are not which only delays the whole process. On top of that, the first contractor took their own time to show up even and then it took almost 7 days, nothing happened. I called my tenant and said, "What happened?" She said, "Nothing."
It's an electrical machinery but it ended up having that we were sent to a plumber. I called American Home Shield and they gave me the plumber's number. I called the plumber. They had the call last week and then they said they had the wrong phone number and whatever phone number they read to me was wrong, not very close to what my tenant's phone number is, that I originally put in the request. They said, "Okay, now we will call." I was not so happy about this whole situation. It's been almost three or four weeks now. As of now, it still has not been repaired.
I have a mixed experience with American Home Shield. In some other request for my primary home, there were problems again with the contractor, not with the American Home Shield because they took good care of me, they gave me a replacement microwave. So I was happy with that and that's why I continue. But on the other request, I'm not sure because now here my tenant comes into picture and that include some kind of liability issue. If not done in timely manner, I will be in trouble. So then I think I should coordinate it within myself because I have to do it anyways. I have to call AHS anyways and call the contractor and whatnot.

Our warranty was sold to us by our realtor as covering the cost of replacement if any of our main components of our home went bad. This included the water heater. We called to make an appointment because we did not have hot water. The company they sent couldn't make it out for 4 days. Once they arrived the repairman said it was a heating element. 'Fine' I said. Except the heating element was so corroded the repairman had to jar and hit and pry at the water heater for the element to come loose. $75 later and we had hot water....for about 3 days until the water heater started to leak.
After contacting AHS again it took another 4 days for the same guy to come back. This time he says the tank is leaking and AHS won't cover the $515 to "get your system up to code." Funny, except I had contacted another plumber for an estimate for a replacement job out of pocket that was about the same price, INCLUDING THE WATER HEATER AND LABOR. The representative of AHS was quite rude and condescending when I spoke with her. I was informed there is a "cash option" but that it is considerably less than what they would pay to the plumber to replace the unit. After this experience I would not recommend AHS or any other "home warranty" to anyone.

The first one who checked it thought he found it, but he only found one little part that was leaking. There was another one, and he didn't find it. The second one who came was very thorough and actually removed the whole coil, and there he was able to find the other somewhat "hidden" part that was leaking. Both contractors were from the same company and they weren't upset that they had to come out twice. In fact, they were very pleasant about it. Since the repair, my unit has been working just fine.

Almost a month ago, my sink started leaking. I called American Home Shield and made an appointment online. That same day, they emailed me back. The contractors who fixed my sink have been here four or five times and they were great. They came and fixed it, and there has been no problems. I've been with American Home Shield for about three or four years now. I have nothing bad to say about them. If I had, I wouldn't renew the contract.

Seems like my issue is very similar to some of the other complaints. Signed up with AHS, filed a claim for my clothes dryer, took a day off from work to accommodate a very inconvenient service calendar. Technician finally showed up and diagnosed the problem, ordered a part that was delivered the same day, said he would be back to fix and I have not seen him for 6 months. Made numerous phone calls, left messages, spoke to reps but nothing and finally gave up. The only contact I have had with the company is letters requesting payment and collection notices threatening collection enforcement - for what?? Just left a message with a rep today 11/25 asking for a supervisor to once again call me back. She was reluctant to take the message, choosing to focus solely on my bill payment. More worried about getting their fees than actually fulfilling their responsibilities.

We had an electrical problem occur in our kitchen where the GFCI plugs stopped working. To be fair and in full disclosure, we had an outlet *moved* 6 inches (not rewired, not added to, etc), so we assumed this was the problem, although the plugs worked fine for several weeks after the work was completed. The contractor showed up while just my wife was at home, and spent nearly 3 hours poking and prodding, looking at the plugs and checking things. He then announced the problem was the new wiring wasn't up to code and he wasn't responsible for fixing it, as it would require tearing out drywall and replacing wire. My wife let him know that no new wiring had been installed, and he apparently became belligerent when she called him on it, saying things like "What do you want me to do about it?" and "Do you have any suggestions?"
He promptly packed up his tools and left and said AHS would be in touch. 2 weeks later, we had received no notification from AHS. When I called, the rep informed me the decision had been made a week ago to not cover the problem. I asked why, and she said we had non-code work done to our home. I let her know the situation with the contractor, and she asked what I wanted her to do about it (this seems to be a theme). I let her know I'd like to cancel my contract, and I was promptly transferred with a "please hold." The woman I spoke with next likely got hired from the DMV. She was completely devoid of emotion, and stated it was their decision to not cover the work. I asked to cancel my account, and she stated "it will be canceled" and then hung up.
I had an electrician friend come over to take a look at the problem, fearing the worst. He took one look at the plug and said "the wires are crossed." He uncrossed the wires and reset the GCFI, and everything worked. We told him the story and showed him the card that had been left by the contractor. He said he knew the guy, and he was *not* an electrician, but more of a handyman. Frankly, I'm done with AHS. They've done moderately well by us in the past, but recently, their contractors and especially customer service has deteriorated to a completely unacceptable level, and this last encounter was the last straw. I think my account is even still active with them because it was never canceled by the rep.
Brian we are still showing your account to be active. We hate to hear that you wanted to cancel, and apologize that the contract was not cancelled when requested. If you still wish to cancel please reply back and I will have a representative contact you to assist.

We’ve had American Home Shield for years and years and we have been more than satisfied. We’ve had it on several different houses. Right now, we have it on two houses. So overall experience with them over time is great, but right now, it's not good. More than a month ago, we called in our refrigerator’s icemaker because it wasn’t working. And three times, Sears was sent out. They ordered parts, and they ordered parts, and then they came last week and they said there was nothing more that they could do. It’s making ice but sometimes it doesn’t put out the full pieces of ice and it doesn’t put out crushed ice at all. And so I called it in again on Friday and I spoke to someone named Win. I said, “I realized it was Saturday but I wanted to make sure that I called it in.” And she said that she would look into it and get back with me first of the week but I haven’t heard from her.

I didn’t have any difficulty in submitting a claim, I had a quick response and the representative was fine. The work of the contractor was done within reasonable amount of time. He apologized because he had to order a part but that was not a problem for me because the machine is old and the part came within a reasonable amount of time. The performance of the machine is fine after the repair but I just need to get a new washing machine.

I called AHS on Emergency basis for my hot water heater on Nov 20. They never found anyone to come out that or even called me back. I had to call plumber in their network who said he would come out the next day. He came out and determined we needed a new hot water heater. He also let me know that there were $300 in 2 permit fees that were not covered. I am not a novice and knew this could not be accurate. I called the town and was told he only needed one permit to do the work and it was $25. I brought this up to both the contractor who said he did not want to discuss this and an AHS supervisor who told me that is the way it is!!! They are knowingly employing crooks. Furthermore the contractor said if I got the cash and lieu and paid then I would not need to pay the permit fees. Furthermore I was promised by a supervisor on Nov 21 that the cash in lieu Sept. would contact me by the latest Monday Nov 24. I called 3 times with no luck getting a $ amount. This is horrible especially as it is cold and my son is already sick from no hot water.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will have our appropriate department reach out to you concerning the water heater request. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When I explained it to him, he kind of knew what was wrong with it right away. Then he showed me it's the bearings wearing out. I guess some of it was breaking off so he kind of showed me in a paper towel what it looked like and that they had to order the part. They have yet to repair the dryer. The rep called me and set up an appointment. They have to order the part and it will be five to seven days so we've got an appointment up for Thursday. So far, our experience has been great. Well we had another problem so we contacted American Home Shield. We were told they only do it for one year and then drop the coverage. We were never notified about this or told then when we paid the extra to have it covered. If you choose to use them look for every possible loophole that they could possibly find. I believe this company is deceptive and not a reputable company. We tried to rectify it but we could never able to get to a supervisor. Beware!

They didn’t want to take it apart because they said it could cause more trouble and the faucet I have in the kitchen is one that’s hard to replace. They said to just wait and if it starts leaking again to call them back. The only complaint I have is last year when my ceiling fan went out, all they wanted to do was replace it with a cheap fan and I wouldn’t let them do that. It’s a very expensive ceiling fan and they could get parts to fix it which is what I wanted. I had a claim with American Home Shield during the summertime. Submitting the claim wasn’t an issue. It happened fast. They’d gone out that next day to see and evaluate what was wrong. The biggest thing was we waited three days for the parts. They try to wait on the parts they needed. The claims representative was good. We talked about what the issue was and she said that she can help me out and put in a claim and walked me through the whole process. I was happy and the service was excellent.
I had an issue with the contractor. They had to come back because the air conditioner thermostat was set at a certain temperature. They had done wiring upstairs in my attic and had left all the covers of box of the wires open. When we noticed that it started getting cold outside, we turned on the heater and it didn’t come on. They fixed the air conditioner but broke or never realized that the other part was broken. and had to come back. We called the company back and had to resubmit another claim as a follow up to the first claim through American Home Shield because they wouldn’t come back. They said, “Oh, no, you got to go back to American Home Shield, file another claim.” I did that and it went good with American Home Shield. Within a couple of hours, I had an email.
I called the company, made an appointment and said, “Look, now that I have American Home Shield backing me up, can you come to my home and see what I’m talking about so you could see what your folks did at my home?” They went up there, took pictures and said, “We’re sorry for all this.” I had to wait another two days for another part that was broken. Apparently, they didn’t realize that the air conditioner and the heater part broke at the same time. They got the part in and two days later, they got it fixed. Everything got done eventually but if AHS hired quality control with the folks that they’re working with, it would have been a little better.
I had another claim recently. About two weeks ago, the dish washing machine stopped heating up the water. We put in a request, got approved and AHS sent out a team and I had no issues. Again, I had to wait on a part. They had purchased a whole front end on the dishwashing machine where you push the button to start it. It got replaced and the dishwasher is working. Everything is good with American Home Shield. I’m happy with the service provided. I had a separate insurance company where I was paying 600 bucks a year and it was not even close to what you all do for me. I was glad that a friend of mine got me hooked up with them.

There has only been one other time that I've been very disappointed with American Home Shield. I'm not even sure I'm going to even do them again next year. The problem started in June when I called them about my air conditioning unit not cooling down. I ended up having to pay $200 something for freon on the system and called them back the next month because the system was not cooling again. And again, I'm having to pay another service charge again each time I call them when I'm calling for the same problem. I called for the last time. The guy that came out was honest with me and said this problem was here the first time when they came out but no one fixed the problem then. It needs a new coil. I had to pay another $200 something for Freon and a service charge for a problem that should have been fixed in June. I called and talked to them about it but they didn't seem to want to hear me.
They finally came out after two weeks later when I called and said "I'm calling to check up on the status of my order that was supposed to have been done two weeks ago". They finally called me. The guy said, "I'll call you back." He called me back three days later and came out. But if I never called, I don't know if I even would have it installed right now.
The contractor was good and very professional. He spent a lot of time and after it was over, he explained to me everything that was going on. He didn't even take the service charge at that point because he said I needed to call the office and negotiate and talk to them about the service charge. He was very honest with me and he wrote up everything that he needed before he left. He said he was going to call American Home Shield and see if I can get it approved. They would be putting a new coil. If they can't get a new coil, then they'll have to install a whole new system for me.
Over time, they've been absolutely wonderful. Anytime I've had an issue, they sent the order in. The people usually came out in a timely fashion and have always taken care of my needs. There's never been a problem with them. And if there was any extra cost that occurred on the situation, they would let me know that upfront before I even went through with it. They've always have a good track record with me. They've been a good warranty company to have.

I have been calling everyday and finally today they told me that they place an order for the part just today and that is gonna arrive on the 26. I am having family in town and I won't have hot water. I asked if I buy my own water heater if I was gonna get reverse for it, they said no. Now I will have to take my family to hotel because I don't have hot water.. American Home Shield is such a bad company. Their customer service people is so rude and plus they never wanted to transfer me to a supervisor. They said that a supervisor was gonna contact me in 48 hours. Till now nobody has contact me.. Very unhappy with all this..
Thank you Rosa for bringing this to our attention. We would like to make things right. A case manager from our resolution team will be reaching out to you.

Usually American Home Shield has been outstanding but I was not that impressed with the last experience we had. We had some problems with the heating system in the early summer. We needed the heating system at night and it wouldn't come on. So we tried to get it taken care of and AHS sent out a couple different companies to work on it, and neither one of them got it fixed. We just sat on it then for a while because we knew that we didn't need it fixed right away. But, in the late summer, we decided we need to get this taken care of. We don't want the winter to come with no heat. We got somebody else to come out and he fixed it. The thing is I had already paid to the first company $75 for service. We figured, okay, if we paid already and it's not fixed, I shouldn't have to do this again. But it turned out I did have to do it again and had to pay twice. That's our minor complaint. Our major complaint is that AHS didn't send anybody out that knew how to fix it. We ended up going through three companies before getting it finally fixed. This company that they finally sent was great. Now we have a heating system and it works. Other than that, it's always been fine. I've never had any problems until this.

Every time I’ve called American Home Shield, we’ve gotten good service. The most recent claim was the receptacle in the bathroom. It stopped working. We were afraid it was something in the wall. They sent an electrician out but it was our mistake, there was nothing wrong with it. He put a new receptacle and it was fine. He was very knowledgeable. They’ve always been very nice and we’ve always got very fast service. I also made a claim regarding our garbage disposal that quit working. They sent somebody out to put it in. Then the dishwasher started backing up and we had to call them out again. We found out that they had forgotten to take the plug out of the garbage disposal that allows the water to go from the dishwasher down the drain. We had to pay for another visit and I felt we shouldn’t have to pay for that. But that’s the only problem. It’s a very pleasurable experience to have American Home Shield. It has taken a lot of pressure off of worrying about an appliance breaking and having to pay for it.
Hello Mary, Thank you for your positive feedback and for taking the time to share your experience with others. We look forward to assisting you with any future home warranty needs.

Submitting a claim to American Home Shield was easy. I got on the website and didn’t really bother to look up my contract number, just on my address, and then go through the list and go down the list and look for what appliance you’re looking for. I didn’t have much interaction with the contractor that came out because they said this occurred on the 20th and they came out initially on the 22nd. We were in San Francisco as of the 21st, so my sister-in-law was the one here. The unfortunate part is that they discovered they needed to replace the toilet and he was not prepared to do that at that point. So he needed to come back to do that, and she had asked them to do it by Friday because we were coming back Saturday night. He thought it wouldn’t be until Monday but said he’d see what he could do.
Unfortunately, it appears that they called back here later that Wednesday to try and schedule when they would come out again, but my sister-in-law wasn’t home and did not remember how to get to the voice mail here. We got back late Saturday night and on Sunday I had left a voice mail message to see when they could come out and when they didn’t call me back Monday morning I called and they couldn’t come until Wednesday then. It wasn’t exactly their fault because it seems like they had to schedule me too from whatever day you call them for them to come out. It’s unfortunate that Steve did not get the message and call them back and it ended up being quite a while. They did come out yesterday and my sister-in-law dealt with them. But he seemed very nice and very efficient. I would recommend American Home Shield to a friend.

Our service call was placed on October 31 and we are approaching day 21 with no working refrigerator. After the technician visited our home, we immediately authorized repair. With each passing day we are dealing with a non-responsive technician who will neither call us or AHS. Our part was never ordered as assured, and when it was, it is literally sitting on technician's front porch with no interest in completing the project. AHS has done little to abide by their contract and make reasonable accommodations for an error in which they have admitted was an oversight. They said they ordered the part. They did not. They said they would report our vendor to "Vendor Relations". They did not. And yet, here we sit, Thanksgiving days away, and no refrigerator. My next phone call will be an to an attorney.
Caren we would like to have our service resolution team assist you on this service request. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The most recent call I made to American Home Shield was for an air conditioner. The contractor diagnosed the problem and gave me the option whether to repair or replace the unit. They replaced it and everything went well. We had them back two times to get it to work. We needed heat one morning after they replaced it and it had no heat. Another time, it was making a buzzing noise and they came out and repaired it. They were always prompt on their service. I had no complaints. I’m satisfied with what they said they would do.

I'm happy with American Home Shield. They did a good job fixing stuff. We were a little bit surprised that they wanted to fix it versus replace, but it's kind of what they do, pretty much everything, they'll fix it way before they'll change something out even if it's a mess.

What a load of crap. We got our sink backed up. It was way down in line so we needed a plumber. The one who was assigned could not get out to us for 4 days. Too busy he said. We called Home Shield and they said if it becomes a problem they would do an emergency call out. Well they only had this one plumber hooked with company. Home Shield is so cheap on paying the contractors no one wants to sign up with them. So we had no choice but to wait or pay for a real plumber. So, before signing up with this piece of crap company find out how many plumbers, electricians, etc etc they have in your area.
We are sorry to hear that your were not pleased with your most recent request. I would be more than happy to have our service resolution team reach out to you.

My refrigerator quit cooling on November 9, 2014. This was called into American Home Shield. On November 11, 2014 Lott Appliance out of Sumrall came out on a service call. I'm being told the sensor board is out. They picked up the service fee on the same day. The part was not ordered until November 14, 2014. After NUMEROUS calls to American Home Shield and the contractor it is now November 21, 2014 & they have yet to repair the appliance. I'm being told there is nothing they can do other than refer this to someone else. I will be purchasing a refrigerator tonight. I would not recommend American Home Shield or Lott Appliance to anyone!! This is beyond unacceptable.
Hi Sonia, I would like to have a case manager contact you in regards to the delay in getting your refrigerator serviced. Is that okay?
