My refrigerator wasn’t cooling properly ever since I got it. It was a new purchase a little over a year ago and it was giving me problems the whole time. I called American Home Shield to submit a claim and their rep on the phone and the contractor they sent out were both good. The contractors came in and did it and everything was fine. I would recommend American Home Shield.

Our last and only claim ever with American Home Shield was a huge disaster and is continuing to be. We had a faucet that cracked and needed to be replaced, so I called American Home Shield. They had somebody come out and before he did, he told me how it worked. But my daughter went and bought a faucet that they liked, and he said that he could replace the faucet using theirs or he could go buy it himself and then we pay him back.
And so, he called American Home Shield and they told him that they had allowed a certain amount of money for the replacement of it. He told us that he could use ours and that AHS had put it in their notes. He was saving himself time from having to go get it and money out of his pocket to begin with. He told me that if he bought it, he'd be charged extra because he had to use a credit card that they charged a surcharge on. So, he talked us into using the one that we had bought, which was fine. We didn't know any different.
So, he put it in. He was there less than 45 minutes then he heft. The place is in Lubbock, which is a couple of hours away. So, our daughter had to get off work, come home and be there with him, which was fine. He replaced it and said that they were allowing us $130 for the replacement, and that they would be mailing us a check. When we called American Home Shield, they said that that was wrong. He was not supposed to use ours. With lots of back and forth with them, they agreed with my husband to the $130 because that's what they had said they would do. They said that they would take off the $75 that we owed and send us a check for $55.
Over the last month, we've gotten a couple of bills from them that we're delinquent in our $75. I told my husband and gave him the copy of the bill, and he threw it in the trash because he said, "I talked to them. They're taking care of it. It's fine." But I found it and I put it back in his face. He called AHS and whoever he talked to said, "If that's what we agreed to, that's what we're going to do." They said that we had to have the receipt for the faucet to send to them before they were going to send us any money. And my daughter, which we found out yesterday when we went down there, didn't keep the receipt. When my husband talked to them the other day, they said that they would send to us an email address to send the receipt, and I haven't gotten a thing. So, I don't believe that the $75 has been taken off. Our coverage is up April 28th, and I will not renew with them.
I would be glad to speak with you in regard to the service fee overcharge and delay in service to receive a reimbursement I would be glad to follow up with you to resolve both issues.

I had a dishwasher, and a refrigerator and ice maker fixed. The repairs went well. The repairman was knowledgeable, nice and cordial. I was aware that the refrigerant is not covered by the warranty. They covered the biggest part which was the coil but it was a surprise to me that they didn’t cover the other parts including the belt. I’ve had two service calls in the last 60 days and I paid $75 for each appointment and I’m going to have what they quoted me as non-covered items for $800 in order to do the repair. I could check and see in the warranty what’s covered and what’s not but I haven’t really had a chance to do that yet. But my experience was good.
The whole purpose of the warranty is to be able to reduce the cost of wear and tear in the home. At this point, I’m okay and happy with American Home Shield. However, once I figured out how much I’ve spent on a monthly basis in my current non-covered items, in my monthly fees and the actual appointment fees, I’ll get an idea if it makes sense for me to just self-insure or not. Because when you start spending a thousand or $2000 even with the warranty, then you may just want to take the chances based upon how old your house is. So as far as the appliance, that whole call went well and now, I’m just dealing with the HVAC request that's still in process.

The kitchen sink was stopped up so I requested assistance online from American Home Shield and everything went well. I received an email about who the technician would be. But it was a Saturday so I had to wait until Monday for them to come out. It sucked but it wasn't an emergency so that was within reason. The guy came on time and was very professional. He knew what he was doing and got right to it. He cleaned the sink out and gave me some tips on how to prevent the issue. He did a good job. I've had American Home Shield for many years, not just for this house but also the other house, and I recommend them always. I already bought AHS for my daughter’s new house and I've told people all the time not to go to other companies.

My washing machine wasn't working. I called to submit a claim to American Home Shield. I spoke with their representative who wanted to know what was broke and what exactly was the problem. Then, they had someone call me. I waited and I didn't get any phone calls, so I had to call. They had trouble finding someone in this area and finally got Sears to do it because there was not a whole lot in this area that would work on that certain type of washing machine. First, it was one contractor who came and he was very polite and very good. And then, he brought a person that they were training but he helped carry.
They took the machine apart and put a big thing in it. They even took stuff outside because I have a small lounge room. Also, they took the clutch outside, so they wouldn't make a mess. And the clutch had to be replaced. They had to order the part which is what they usually say. And then they came back and fixed it when the part came in. It took them a while to put the clutch in because they had to take the whole inner part of the drum out to get to the clutch. It was a big job. The only problem though was that it took a bit longer and I had to wait a lot longer than normal because there was some kind of mix up.
The washing machine went out in December and it didn't get fixed until January. And I had to call and re-order the service. Other than that, everything was fine. The guys were clean and efficient. The washing machine is working fine. Now, I have a problem with my icemaker and refrigerator. So, I'm hoping that I don't have the same delay that I had with my washing machine when I decide to call and get the appliances worked on. I would recommend AHS. I was with Home Shield for years before when we had a rental and it saved us a lot of money.

I had an issue with my stove and the first contractor that AHS sent out said that everything needed to be changed. But AHS decided that he didn't know what he was talking about, so they sent another one out. The second guy who came looked very nice and like an expert but I was not happy with him. The first time he came he said, "These are the parts I want." Then he came back and installed them. However, I told him a day after that that the unit was still not repaired. He came out three more times to try and figure out what the problem was and three more times to install things. The problem was his priority was to keep the cost down.
Thankfully, the stove works now, though it took four months or so to have it fixed. With a professional repairman, this issue could have been resolved in one appointment. Also, I was with a different warranty company before and with them, if an appliance had one or two problematic issues, they would have changed the whole unit. AHS could be more generous instead of keeping the cost as low as possible because in the end, it'd cost them more to send a contractor out six times than replace the whole unit the first time he comes out.
I understand your concerns with the delay in service that was experienced to have your stove repaired and the overall customer service experience. I am glad to hear that everything works now. I would be glad to speak with you and address the issues that have occurred.

We have had American Home Shield for years -- we learned about them when we bought our first house. They are good and reliable, and we have been happy with our experience. Recently, we had a plumbing issue and so we submitted a claim over the phone. We had some stopped-up sink and their technicians came and cleared that out. We liked them a lot, and they resolved the problem.

I called American Home Shield on a weekend and the message said that the wait time was higher than normal. I sat on hold for a while and then I decided to go online. But I found that it was absolutely useless because all it did was put somebody in the queue for some time at some point when someone eventually comes into the office on Monday. It was ridiculous since the current claim is a leaking pipe inside my walls. Waiting for someone to come around on a Monday when I found it on a Saturday wasn’t going to be the best way. I then got an automatic email from the system saying who’s been assigned to my claim. I called the company and was told that they couldn't work on it because the claim was not in their system. It was not showing as an emergency because I entered it online. And even though I entered it online, there's no option to say it's an emergency.
I then spent six hours, every hour, calling the other company and then calling back trying to get through American Home Shield. I was trying to get them to upgrade it to an emergency and also tried to get the guy who was on call for the service to come out. I finally got a call at 9:45 that Sunday evening from a technician in Maryland where I live to come out after I started the whole process at 3 o’clock. Unfortunately, I was able to diagnose that it’s something that would require banging through walls and getting through the plumbing, and the bathroom’s right next to my kids. I got three young kids, so I told them not come out. At that point, he wasn’t going to get to my house until 11 so we had to reschedule with that company.
My issue is not so much negative with American Home Shield, other than their inability to provide data online whether or not something is an emergency or not. And I would think that one would understand that when you request a plumbing service and identify that it’s a leaking pipe that theoretically should be considered an emergency. Common sense doesn’t work with the people answering the phones at American Home Shield. They want to make sure that they do as little as they needed to make sure that their claims are not covered. And my issue has been more with the supplier that they provided me. They are absolutely horrific and non-responsive.
Other than that, I had a water heater that made loud, clicking noise and was not heating enough. They did their job there, but they made no difference other than what I paid them to do. Overall, I would not recommend AHS. Every time I've called them about things in the past, they tried to figure out a way to get out of any claim possible that I begin to question if it's really worth having it if there’s no resulting benefit. After all, it would have cost me less to call the plumber myself and have them fix my water heater than having me go through American Home Shield.
I understand your issues with the hold time and inability to be updated online about your service requests. I would be glad to speak with you and address your experience to have the leaks repaired.

I called American Home Shield to submit a claim for the garage door. My car was in the garage and I wished I had other means to get it open but it would not operate. It was a Friday night and I was on the phone for a long time. They kept giving me this crap about the high volume of calls. I was calling at 3:00 o'clock in the morning, I doubt they had a high volume. And that really ticked me off. Moreover, I never got a hold of a live person until Monday. Then the first person I spoke with ticked me off too. She said that I had to give her my credit card. I said that I was not giving her my credit card and that it was not in my agreement when I first signed up. She said that I was not going get the service then and she hung up on me.
But the second person I spoke to was very nice, professional and courteous. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but she asked to let her explain everything first. She told me what I had to do and that she would take care of the claim for me and have somebody out here. The contractor came and took care of everything. I called up American Home Shield to find out where to send the $100. The lady I spoke with said that she needed my name and phone. I said that all I wanted to know was where to send the money, but she would not tell me. I asked if she could think a little bit out of the box. All the information was up to date and I just talked to their people the other day. She said that she couldn't think out of the box and she asked if I was going to take care of her if she got fired. I asked her again to give me the address, but she would not do that. I finally let her go and I went online to look.
Up until that situation, it was okay with AHS. A couple of years ago, the heater wouldn't work. I called and said I needed heat and that my wife was very ill and we have flu in. They said that they understood and they would have somebody. They had someone call 7:00 o'clock in the morning. But I'm ready to leave AHS. My warranty ends April 17th and I have someone lined up. I'd recommend getting somebody else.
I understand your concerns with your most recent work order to have your garage door repaired and the delay in service due to the malfunction occurring on a weekend. I would be glad to speak with you in regard to your experience.

I've used American Home Shield before and it has been okay. It's just that anytime I had to call them, it was over a two-hour wait on hold. Our dishwasher broke and they sent someone out who came quickly. The contractor, Appliance Time, was awesome and after three weeks, I called back the people that came. It turned out AHS was giving me a new dishwasher but their reps didn’t call me. That was great but Appliance Time couldn't do it until AHS has gotten hold of me. So, the lady at Appliance Time called AHS for me because she knows I have two kids and there were all these things going on. Appliance Time was amazing because as soon as AHS gave me a go ahead, the contractor came for me to replace it. But American Home Shield was awful and it was a horrible experience. It took six to seven weeks for them to get me a new dishwasher.

So my convection oven stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I called and made a claim. They sent out a service repair company to fix it, who said I needed a motherboard that he would order the part and call me when he can install it. That was on Wednesday March 7th. So I never got a call. So I call the service center today March 13th to ask when are they going to fix my oven. They told me to call my warranty company because they want to replace it. No one got in contact with me to tell me this was going on.
So I called the warranty company after waiting an hour on the phone. They said they will have to research it and get back with me in 48 hours. So this is week 2 without an oven with 4 kids in the house. This is very poor customer service with no regard to the customer. I still don't know what's going on. This makes no sense at all but in the meantime they did draft my $100.00 deductible while I wait to see what's going on.???? If I didn't call myself they were never going to call me to tell me anything was going on. Just not what I expect from a company like this.

It’s sad a customer of my tenure with AHS has to wait, argue and dispute a concern that continues to go UNRESOLVED for over 3 months. I called in a service ticket back in December of 2017 for my Washer, as of today 03/12/2018 I am still without the use of my Washer. Service appointments have been made, parts have been ordered/reordered new and refurbished, service contractors have documented several times a new Washer replacement is needed, AHS agents denying my many requests to speak with a Manager, Parts Department unable to locate/verify where the part(s) were sent, AHS agents not knowing what to say or do therefore promising me someone would contact me regarding the new Washer replacement… which you can clearly gather hasn’t happened!!
This is a formal complaint against AHS for the above mentioned reasons. AHS has provided a dis-service and a lack proper resolution. I demand AHS contacts me immediately, notifying me my new Washer replacement was ordered as well as providing the delivery date. I also demand a refund for the additional premium I paid in good faith when adding the Washer and Dryer to my existing coverage.

My experience with American Home Shield has been excellent. The recent claim I had was for the washer-dryer, which I submitted online. AHS’ website was easy to navigate. The dryer was not working and AHS sent out a contractor within 24 hours. For the first-time service, I texted the technician and he came and fixed the dryer. It's very important to have a warranty on a property because, in some way, it's very difficult to find the people to repair. I recommend AHS to friends asking and will tell them that they will want AHS. It's very helpful and very useful for the appliances of the world.
Good afternoon, Moondeep. We are so glad to know that your appliances were serviced quickly and effectively.

It's extremely important to have a warranty on a property as it makes life easier. I've had American Home Shield for quite a while and I’ve had nothing but great experience in the past. However, I was totally disgusted because we needed some hot water heater. I made the claim to AHS on the phone and I had to wait over an hour to get through. Also, it took three days for the first repair people to come. When the guy came out he said, "We're not able to fix it because it doesn't meet the standard." The guy didn't know what he was doing. Then I had to follow up because we didn't know if they were going to replace the heater or not. Then I had to call again. The reps were very helpful even though it took them a while to get to the phone. Then they sent the guy out immediately.
When the guy came out the second time, he told us that they couldn’t do it because the unit was too small based on the capacity of the house. The thing was, it’s a big house but there were only two of us in there. And there was only one shower being used at the time. When the hot water heater was installed, it met their requirements but I guess the requirements have been changed or updated since then so they said it didn't qualify. It took two weeks to get it resolved. And it was during the winter which was very cold so I was extremely upset with the whole transaction. The company was horrible and I told AHS that that provider needs to be removed.
I understand your concerns with the delay in service you experienced for two different techs to repair your hot water heater. I would be glad to speak with you and resolve your experience.

I have a claim with American Home Shield right now and I am hoping that they are going to come out soon. I have had a couple of plumbing problems. All the pipes were draining very slowly and it had been ongoing but I just had not made the claim right away. When I first moved in, I made a claim and the plumber snaked some of them out. Then they came out and did a couple more. Now, we have a leak from one of the pipes. The process of submitting a claim could not be easier. I go online, pick my issues, I get an immediate email, and the next business day, AHS calls me or whoever the contractor is going to come.
The contractors have always been very friendly. The first time AHS sent somebody out, it was a different plumbing company and he was okay. He didn’t speak great English. Since then, AHS went with a different plumbing company and the people that came with that company were really wonderful. The contractors didn’t leave until I was satisfied that the water was slowing. The seal was broken in pieces and he said that it wasn’t safe because the seal keeps the carbon monoxide coming in. So I had to go without a heater for a couple more days while they ordered the part. My AHS rep was very professional when I called for the repair of my washing machine that was blocked and it didn't take very long. The following day, a contractor came but he had the wrong parts. We had some issues with the air-conditioning and if AHS would have been willing to use high-quality parts to begin with, we would have had a better outcome overall. So, it wasn't a completely seamless thing. The air conditioner was an older unit and it took a long time to get fixed. We had problems and I must have had someone come out fix it seven times. But eventually, it got fixed. With the heat, me being disabled and my wife having diabetes, I was hoping that would have gotten the process done with the air conditioner a lot sooner. But it took over a month to get that squared away.
The other things that I had done, I had a good experience with. I had an electrical issue and they got it resolved. I also had a refrigerator that got fixed. Also, the reps when I called were very courteous and they were knowledgeable. They were as helpful as they could be but they didn't have time to get anything done. Our microwave wasn't working and it would not heat anything up. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and navigating through it was pretty good. The contractor took a week to get here. I was without a microwave for six weeks. But when the technician arrived our interaction was okay. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly and let me know that he felt certain that the microwave was not going to be repaired and that it would be a replacement. He told me we would have to go through the process and we did. I find the process of trying to get a hold of someone at American Home Shield to be wildly frustrating. I spent days on hold with them, over the course of my time with them, especially with the microwave.
One time I called and the hold time was greater than three hours. When we had an air conditioner issue with them six months ago, I had a hold time of six hours and that was unacceptable. I understand they're trying to streamline the claims process and I do that always online. This is only when I'm calling when I have an issue or a question, like when the gentleman left with the microwave he didn't leave me with any sense of what I needed to do, the next step was and the timeline. So I was trying to call somebody to get a sense of that and I was on hold for three hours. And recently, I was on hold for two hours and then the phone line hung up on me. It happened on at least three occasions.
We've had the same warranty since we moved in almost 6 years ago. This is the first year we will not be renewing our warranty because I feel like there's been a precipitous decline in customer service and the quality of the contractors that get sent out to the home. The air conditioner contractor that came out to my home broke my disappearing stair wheel and then blamed it on me. We couldn't get anybody from American Home Shield and nobody from the contractor's company that came out would call my husband back. It was a terrible experience.

Our furnace quit working and I called up American Home Shield. I didn't have my account number but they looked it up. I told them what was going on and who I wanted to come out because we had the same person last year when we had a problem with the furnace. So they set it up and the contractor called to tell me that he will be here the next day. The technician was very professional and he wore booties in the house. He fixed the furnace right away and he was great. We've used American Home Shield about four times since we've had them and we like them. They're worth the money.

I've used American Home Shield once, and they’re very good. The smoke alarm in the house went off, so I had the contractors come out and check it, and it didn’t go off for them. Then they told me to give them a call if I have a problem within six months. About a week went by, and the smoke alarm went off again. I got a call from them, they came out again and replaced the smoke alarm. It was excellent service.

My American Home Shield experience has been excellent so far. I have them ever since I purchased my house so it's been a great deal for me. Recently, I contacted them regarding a garbage disposal that wasn’t working at all. I have submitted the claim a few times. The first company came out two or three times. And all they did was insert a tool and unclog whatever they thought was the problem. Then as soon as they would leave, it would stop working the day after. So I knew there was more of a problem than just that because that was something that I was doing myself.
So the last time I called AHS, I told them not to send back the same company because they haven't done anything the last three times. The last company came out and I explained to them exactly what was going on. They agreed that the garbage disposal required replacement so they did that. They did a great job. So far, everything has been good since the replacement. I highly recommend American Home Shield. With them, it's always been a courteous and prompt service.

The first one that came out to look at the air condition did a great job. They were very professional and did the work. The air condition started to work immediately after they finished the work. Then I also filed a claim regarding our ductwork and AHS sent someone to look at it. The contractor came out, went up in the attic, looked at it, and came back. He found some leaks and he said something about it not being cost-efficient to do the cleaning. I asked them to send me a quote as to how much it would cost. They said AHS would probably not cover it and didn’t really do anything. That was about two weeks ago.

Three months ago the individual that American Home Shield sent to fix the pipe that was leaking had cut a hole in my ceiling. He called it in so that somebody can come out and fix the ceiling. Each time I call AHS says that they have to contact the company that created the hole and get measurements from them. I told them that I can measure it for them but they said no and that they have to get it from the person that made the hole. They said that each time that they’ve tried to call nobody has called them back and that they would call me back as soon as they heard. I’ve waited a week and then I called back and I’ve waited another couple weeks and I’ve called back. I have to call back again for about the fifth time. There’s a big square in my ceiling that still hasn’t been repaired.
Up until this point though AHS has been great. Registering and creating a work order on their website has been fine and the people that have responded to actually do the work has been fine. They’ve come out, been very friendly and done the work. I’ve had great experiences. However, when there is something out of the ordinary that AHS has to deal with there’s no real follow through with recontacting me and making sure that this is happening.

American Home Shield has sent service people out to do what needed to be done to repair things and I've been happy with that. They had a problem with my heating issue one time and that was taken care of. They also took care of the microwave issue we've had. This time we have a $3,000 LG refrigerator-freezer combination that we purchased last year and just before the warranty expired, the refrigerator stopped working and would not freeze. We wound up having to take all our meat and other stuff out. We lost a good portion of that because we didn't have another refrigerator at the time.
We initially went to Lowe's and they had a 30-day warranty on new products. We didn't get the extended warranty through them because we've never had a problem with a refrigerator. They sent people to repair it, changed parts out and conferred back and forth with LG. Then I was told that LG was no longer going to pay for the service cost. The first charge was $200 and I paid that, but the refrigerator wasn't still fixed. So I contacted Home Shield because that's what they're for.
The people from Home Shield are easy to get ahold of and they keep their appointment. The contractors came out right away in a week or two at the most. They were also are easy to work with. However, although the techs who were sent to work on the refrigerator have been working hard and spent hours on it, they couldn't get it fixed. Apparently, they went through the same system the people went before. The last time the guy was out, he came out to see if the fix he had done before was going to allow the refrigerant to go from the top of the refrigerator. And by now, the box up top is cool but we can't use it because there's no freezer working. We can't put or store any meat in it and the ice maker doesn’t work. It's so frustrating as we've been dealing with this for seven months.
The techs are doing the best they can, but one of them told me that they're limited by what they can do because it's a sealed system and they have to get approval to go into the system to see whatever the next step is. So I'm waiting now for them to come out and to tell me what's going to happen next. I'm glad that Home Shield is around.

We had several appliances that needed attention. The microwave was skipping out like a crazy thing. It works some of the time and made crazy noises the rest of the time. It seemed unsafe. We called American Home Shield and it got resolved. And, we figured, since they were coming out, we'd have them go and take a look at the dishwasher that doesn’t clean dishes and the ice maker that doesn’t make ice. At the end of all of that, it was all fixed and we’re very happy.
But any phone dealings with AHS require that you just quit your job and make a career out of being on hold. It’s not the phone people’s fault though. It’s a staffing issue and a huge frustration. I know that you can see a lot of this online, but often times, there are things that need to be discussed that can’t be addressed online so I’m generally a phone call person. I’m very unhappy with what it takes to reach somebody by phone. Other than that, I’m very pleased with the service. The technician was excellent and the work got done. Moreover, he was a good communicator. AHS is a smart service to take advantage of.

It was very easy when I filed a claim for our Jacuzzi tub on the AHS site. Twice before that claim, we had contractors come out for the dishwasher and the garbage disposal and I had great interactions with them. I really felt comfortable with them. But the claim for the tub, I never saw the contractor. I was just told I would get a phone call 30 minutes before they came but I never got one. When he came, we had painters at the house and they were the ones who showed the contractor the tub. He then told a painter I needed to order a part and that he would contact me when the part came in. Our painter relayed that to me.
That particular claim has still not been fixed. Other than that, everything has been great. AHS has been very easy to deal with. Every time I call, I talk to somebody very quickly and they’ve always helped me. I really appreciate how easy it is to talk to them when I need something. It has also been very easy to submit a request online. The only thing is I still have not heard back from that company telling me that they've got the part and that they're coming to put it in. And that’s been probably four weeks. Also, I tried to go in the AHS site to change the phone number and the email to mine, but I could not figure out a way to do that. But I think it's because we put the warranty contract in my husband's name.

However, when my heat went out, it was great and we received good service. The contractors came right out. My stepdaughter was in the house and we missed an appointment because she didn’t open the door, so the company came back out again and they were great. We were more satisfied than that. It takes a day or two at the most for someone to reach me. Recently, we've been having problems with the dishwasher. It had the error code that says E3. And so, someone came out and replaced some kind of heating element. But that didn't work, so they came out again and replaced a control panel. Now, it's doing it again. When I file a claim, I appreciate the automated response, entering an order, and getting a text. Their response time has also been quick and the initial call has always been very prompt. I used to be with another company where sometimes I have to call and nag.
Recently, I submitted a claim for my washing machine. Its float valve, which is connected to a small electrical transmitter, failed, causing the machine to send a false signal that it had already spun and drained water even though water was still built up in the bottom of the washing machine. The contractor was able to replace that so the cycle would continue and the machine could properly spin and drain. It took him two times to get it right but he got it fixed and it's working great now.
I also submitted a claim for the vent hood over the kitchen stove. One of the lights wasn’t working on it anymore. The light bulb has a resistor somewhere and the contractor they sent had difficulty accessing it to determine the problem. But once he did, he diagnosed that the problem was with some sort of a capacitor up in the neck of the system. He needs a part to fix it but he said it would be better to replace the whole unit because he couldn’t find the manufacturer of the model. This issue has been lingering for three months now and hopefully we’ll come to a resolution. I keep calling and the guy came back out and said that they’re still looking for the part and they’re not having much success with it.

Our water heater had problems where there were periods of time where there was no hot water or we would have hot water for as long as we took time to wash the dishes, and that was it. So we had to wait to shower in between. I submitted the claim online via the AHS portal and it was pretty easy navigating through it. Two contractors had to come so, the claim took longer. It was three weeks since I initiated the claim.
My husband liked the first contractor. He was very knowledgeable and explained to us that the water heater was gone and needed to be replaced. He advised my husband that somebody would call to schedule an appointment. I got phone calls, but I didn't know they were from a different company. There was some confusion with that. We're still having issues with the water heater and somebody would be coming today between 10:00 to 12:00.
But I would have liked to receive a call from AHS to let us know that the previous contractor that came to view our water heater was not going to fix it. I felt clueless as to what was going on. I had to personally call in and find out what happened. Other than that, it is very valuable that we have a home warranty. We are paying more upfront, but when something breaks, it's less out of pocket from we normally would have to pay. Besides that little bump on the road, which is something that can be fixed, we like AHS. It was our first time buying a house so, expense wise, the home warranty is reliable. I and my husband are considering if we can extend the contract before it expires.

So, I called them back to American Home Shield and asked AHS to have it reassigned back out to another company. I lost a day going through that process. The contractor sent by AHS was fantastic. The furnace is outstanding since it was repaired. The contractor also noticed another issue with the vent for fresh air being blocked off by the previous owner and explained how it was not good for the quality of the air in the house. I have a claim for my microwave with American Home Shield that has been going on since November. It spins and since November, we’ve been ordering parts and the contractors replaced various parts on the microwave for four months and they spent more time troubleshooting it to try to figure out what was wrong with it, but it still doesn’t work. Also, part of the convection oven stopped working and it didn’t spin. My oven and my microwave were out of commission through all of the holidays and the oven is finally fixed after two and a half months.
I submitted the claim over the phone and American Home Shield is a pain in the neck to call. Every time I call, even if I was calling them back for the fourth time, I have to go through my name, address, telephone number, email ID, etc. every single time. The people are very nice most of the time but the communication between them and their vendors is not very great. The vendors would come out but the problem wasn’t fixed and I wouldn't hear anything. After ten days, I called American Home Shield. And then, they called the vendor who then called and came back out with a part. It took months to fix a problem so my experience with AHS right now is not that great. I'm not very impressed with them.
American Home Shield's processes seem to have open loops if everything does not go as planned so they’ll be sitting there waiting with no feedback. I’ve been a customer of American Home Shield for 17 years. And in the beginning, they were wonderful and I have been a good advocate and had recommended them to lots of people. But they’ve gone downhill and it has been horrible to try to get ahold of them by phone. Sometimes I have to wait over an hour. I've been angry enough to wait over an hour because I've been out of service since Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year and I didn’t have an oven or a microwave, and I have not been satisfied at all.
I would like to thank you for your patronage to AHS for over the past 17 years. I understand that you have two ongoing appliance claims and I would be glad to speak with you and get them resolved.

When I submitted a claim for the washing machine to American Home Shield, I was surprised that it went so well over the phone. The person who came out was good. He was from Williams Appliance Repair and he already came out before because we had one of American Home Shield's contractors didn’t do anything. Our top load machine had a lid, and the lid was supposed to stay up and it’s always supposed to stay up until you pull it down because it was very heavy and it could break your fingers if you hit on them. All the previous contractor did was pull the machine out a little bit from the wall and then told me that it was working okay now. I told him that it was not the way it's supposed to be.
I called again back the contractor and he said that it was a maintenance problem. But everything with the washing machine is a maintenance problem when you get right down to it. It's used and my wife doesn’t use it any more than anybody else does. It was just the two of us. So I called American Home Shield and talked to some department that was looking into it. I told them I didn't want the same company and guy again because he didn’t do anything and he acted as though it was just a routine call for him to get his contractor’s fee and that was the end of it.
Then the next thing I knew, Michelle from Williams Appliance called and told me they can be out Friday if that was okay with me. She was very good and quick. Then David came out, and my wife told him that the machine goes so far and it won’t turn on anymore. David came back after doing another job and he told us what we should be doing. They were very good and they followed through. The machine was about 14 years old so it's not a new machine. So far, we haven't had any problems with it since the repair.
But the biggest problem I had with American Home Shield over the four years was the contractors. They have some good ones and some that aren’t so good. We had a light fixture in the kitchen. It was a fan with lights under it, and one of the lights was out. We would get a bulb back in there for a few minutes but then it would go out again. So we called American Home Shield and they sent a guy out. He looked at it and told me that I have to get a whole new fan and he can't do a whole one like that. So we looked around but couldn’t find anything that was as nice as the one we had, so we didn’t do anything. Then we had another time that we had the same issue and they came out and said the same thing.
Meanwhile, A fella from across the street is an ex-contractor and he was doing some work on his house. My wife told me to ask him if his electrician was there since we’d like to just ask him a question. The ex-contractor came over and looked at the fan. He said it will take 10 minutes to fix it. He then told me that once his guy gets done, he will tell him to come across the street. He did come over and truly, it was about 10 minutes and $5.
We had to pay the contractor sent out by American Home Shield, which was fine, but I can’t believe that these guys wanted me to get a whole new fan for $400 and the guy sent by the fella across the street fixed the issue. I told American Home that sometimes the guys they sent either didn’t want to do the work or something else was there. They asked how much they charged me and I said $80. Then they sent me a check for $80. We also had these couple of calls for the swimming pool. One of the motors went out and the people came out and said they were going to pay for a used machine. They added that if I wanted a new one, I can pay them another $100 and they will put a brand-new one in. So I did that and it worked out alright.

On New Year’s Eve, I ran into a problem when my furnace went out. It was 30 degrees in my house and I had company. And the concern I had with American Home Shield was that there was no way to speak to a live human being directly to get help especially when it was the holiday time. I called the actual phone number and I was on hold for an hour and 15 minutes. It said somebody will get to me but there was high volume. Then, somebody picked up the phone and then hung up. I didn’t know exactly what to do so I ended up having to call a company and it cost me $6,000 to repair my furnace. I tried calling AHS again to see if I can get through and find a different way to do the problem versus paying out six grand.
The second time I called was the customer service number and I also tried every phone number I could find. The same problem happened and I was too tired to do it. I even told the service guy that I should go to my home warranty and he asked me if I wanted to hold everything. But it was freezing in my house and I didn’t have a choice. It was an ordeal and I didn’t even know if I would be able to put in a claim to get reimbursed some of that. I can't fault AHS for everything but they need to have a customer service line where I can speak to somebody instead of being rerouted back to the internet every single time.
Also, I’ve had two service calls on my refrigerator and AHS can't do anything without paying $75 upfront. One of the blades of the ice maker broke, so on the first service call, I asked to check everything but the technician basically walked in the door, took the serial number, walked back out and then sent me the part. He was a nice man but I paid $75 for him to do that. Then the computer part and the damper went out which is what my recent call was. I had requested service for electricity from American Home Shield and when I went to the website, they billed me $75 in order to get that service. I scheduled with an electric company but it was gonna take about two weeks and in the interim, we figured out the issue. I didn’t need the service anymore so I canceled the appointment with the provider. But for some reason, there was a miscommunication in that the provider said that somebody came out to my house.
In addition to that, when I try to contact American Home Shield, I can't get a hold of them sometimes. It takes a long time for them to answer on the customer service line. When I was trying to contact them back in December, I had to hang up at one point because I was on hold for almost 40 minutes. That has happened on a couple of occasions too. I called the corporate office number but they just said to try back, that they understand and that they had gotten those complaints before. I tried calling again and I was on hold for a long time. Eventually, I was able to speak to someone. But there was a lot of frustration in that.
We also recently used American Home Shield for another issue. My pool pump died and they replaced it for free. But the platform that the pump was on was not up to code and they fixed that as well, for which I had to pay an extra amount and it was expensive. But it needed to be done for the pump to work correctly and they were transparent about what it would cost me. Everything worked out fine and overall, the things that they’ve covered are certainly worthwhile to consider having coverage on. But because the customer service is lacking and I’m still waiting to hear on one issue, I’m gonna consider looking at other home insurance providers when I go to renew.

I've had two claims with American Home Shield in the last two months. I submitted one online and the other on the phone. Their website wasn't hard to navigate and their claims reps were good. They got a contractor to me in a day and a half and everything's fine.

I've always gotten prompt service from American Home Shield with no issues. When I told them my heat wasn’t working, they sent somebody out within a very reasonable amount of time. The first contractor that came out was very nice but they didn’t work on my particular unit so I had to contact American Home Shield again. They called around and found someone in my area who services that unit. A wire was placed too close to something and that was causing it to short out so the technician had to move a wire. He said that he sees that a lot and it's not uncommon. Apparently, he is a guru with that system so he knew what he was looking for and fixed it within 30 minutes.

I’ve had my ups and downs with American Home Shield, but this last contractor for my recent claim was the best I’ve had. I had an electrical outlet and a light fixture that were not working properly. I submitted my claim online with American Home Shield and the process was really good and pretty easy. They have an app and I tried to download it. It seemed like it was an employee app or it’s not them but the app wasn’t that great. But I wanted to find and use it so I did. Then, the contractor called me the next day which was surprising, because normally they don’t come over the next day. But he said that he got an appointment that cancelled and he was in my neighborhood. I was able to get off of work and head over there, then he fixed everything. I’m hiring him again to do my whole electric system for my basement.
Hi, Blake. We are so pleased to hear that you were so impressed with the electrician that we dispatched to your home. Thank you for letting us know about your service experience.

American Home Shield has a nice UI and UX as far as submitting requests online. But it's very difficult to get a hold of anybody. They don't pick up the phone and their customer service is poor. I’ve also consistently updated my profile online to remove my phone number from my account entirely and to add my wife's phone number. I'm not the one who coordinates any work that needs to be done and my number is nowhere on my profile but they consistently provide my phone number to the vendors that they dispatch. And then, it's hit or miss when it comes to their vendors.
One time last year, we had an issue with our master bathroom sink and the guy who came out said that he couldn’t fix it and that we needed an entirely new sink. I had to go and find out what the make and the model is to see if we can get a sink. Then I reached out to him but he never reached back out to me. So I called that vendor and they didn't have any documentation of that technician's findings. They sent a new technician out and it turned out that I didn't need a whole new sink. They just needed to make a very minor repair. But outside of that, all my other experiences with American Home Shield have been positive.

I've been with American Home Shield since December. My problem with my HVAC unit started a couple of months ago and I filed a claim online with AHS. The contractor, Shingle Springs Heating & Air, has come out a couple of times and they’ve been super good each time. The repair has made my heater a lot better. The customer service of AHS was really great and I’ve had a great experience both times. So, hopefully, if I get to use AHS again, they will continue the same way. I would tell my friends the great experiences I've had with AHS and I would recommend them to anybody.

I got leaky pipes in my kitchen and I called American Home Shield to file a claim. They took care of it and then I made my payment over the phone. Within 24 hours, they got somebody out here and the guy was awesome. The first time that they came out, they couldn’t fix the part. They said that whoever put together the pieces used some odd parts so they had to get something out to take out that parts and they rescheduled an appointment with me. They came back within a week and a half with parts that they needed to do the job. They've put it back in and got it going. The guys that they sent out were very knowledgeable and cordial.

I'm glad we have American Home Shield. We had a leak from a bathroom toilet. We submitted the claim online and it was a seamless process. We had one person come out, take a look and determine what the issue was. He was very professional and nice. And once they took the information back to American Home Shield, they decided that they would replace the toilet. And it's now working fine. The other person that came out from the company was also professional and pleasant to deal with.

American Home Shield sent people out to fix my dishwasher and we're in our fourth week ordering more parts because they would not order a new dishwasher. Instead, they have spent hundreds of dollars on parts. Every time it comes due, they find another part that doesn't work and now we're waiting for another part. I filed my claim initially online and it was easy but now I do it through the appliance center. The appliance person is great, but American Home Shield sucks. They should be proactive and save money by replacing things instead of ordering hundreds of dollars in parts.

I want to compliment American Home Shield on the person who they sent out for my dryer. I like his mannerisms and I was so happy to see someone who was so professional. My dryer had some limps in it and I had gotten it real hot, and I was afraid to use it. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with it. I also asked the young man for a card and then I recommended his company to my neighbor a week later.
Before that, I have had some issues with American Home Shield and there were 3 times I wasn’t too pleased. When my water heater went out, I have to be without it for over a week before a contractor even came out. I was very frustrated with them because it seemed like it wasn’t such a big deal to them, but it really was to me because we have no hot water to bath. Then, there was another occasion where I went ahead and paid for whatever needed to be repaired because I didn’t like the waiting. We call American Home Shield, then they call someone and then I have to wait for that someone to call me. That can be up to three days before they get to me and I don’t like that process. Also, one of my dearest friends who has a big business up in Kansas, has a townhouse, and a home in San Antonio, also canceled the contract with American Home Shield last year because of the waiting. They’re not fast enough with their service.
Still, I have to keep American Home Shield's service because my husband and I are both senior citizens and we live on our pensions, and I don’t have a lot of money if some big appliance goes out. Having American Home Shield is necessary because there are so many appliances in a home that can go wrong. There's a $60 monthly fee but the warranty covers everything. I would recommend them but they need to have better customer service.

I had a hard time with some of the people sent out by American Home Shield. While there had been some contractors who were really nice and very pleasant, for the most part, the guys that were coming out weren’t courteous to people and their needs. One time, they sent out a plumber who never finished my sink. He even argued with replacing a faucet on the side of my house and said it wasn’t under the contract. Then, when he called American Home Shield, he found out that it was under my contract because it was part of the slab of my house. He was rude and obnoxious, too. I also had someone come and pull my dishwasher out to repair it. He ripped my linoleum and I have to get that fixed.
I filed another claim for my stove and the person from Sears that was sent out said that there was a problem with the control panel. But he put the wrong control panel in so, the front burner on my stove is still not fixed right. I called the him back to tell him that my oven was still not working. He asked me to call American Home Shield and see if I needed a new work order. AHS then gave me a new work order with a new person and that person tried to replace the same parts that the previous tech had just replaced. But the wiring in the back of the stove melted. My two older boys were here when the gentleman came out and looked at the oven. He took the back-panel wall and showed them where the wires were burnt. So, now, I don’t know what they’re going to do about the stove.
AHS gave me a discount on one month's payment since the repair is taking time, but I've been buying takeout food for my family when this was going on and that is costing me more money than if I paid somebody outright to fix it. AHS gave me the same discount when there was one group they sent out of Kinston that had my microwave for two months. They claimed they were waiting for parts but I wound up calling American Home Shield back to get it straightened out. Similarly, when I filed a claim for my washer, it took a while before they got the parts to fix it. So, I had to do the laundry at the laundromat for a month. But the person they sent out to fix my washer and dryer was the sweetest gentleman. He had it fixed in no time and I had no headaches with him.
Recently, I had an AC claim and four different people kept telling me there was nothing wrong with the system, that it was something I was doing. My son had been trying to tell them that the drain pan was rusting out but they did nothing. The last technician that AHS sent took some time to figure out what was causing the problem. In the meantime, it damaged my ceiling in my smallest bedroom in the house and I was told that American Home Shield doesn't cover the damages. The tech got to repair the AC, though, and it's okay now. All in all, if someone would ask me about American Home Shield, I'd tell them that they need to make sure that AHS sends somebody reputable out. They should also call them back within days because otherwise, stuff wouldn't get done.
I would be glad to speak with you and resolve the issues you have experienced to have your stove repaired and address the issues that occurred with your AC system.

If you don’t, fine.” I wasn’t too pleased with that and I almost canceled. The recent one has been good. An appliance service came out and fixed the dishwasher. The guy did a good job, he was quick and did what he was supposed to do. We called and he came. He called me a couple of times to make sure I was there. In fact, he called me early. I'm happy with American Home Shield. Submitting a claim with them is easy and their contractors are very friendly. They came out a couple of times for my dishwasher that had some issues--it wasn't cutting on once you close the door, the little door that pops out in the soap dispenser wasn't working, and it was leaking. They had a guy come out and on the third service call, the dishwasher got fixed. Then recently, a guy came out for my pool pump and it was a quick fix. He replaced the pump and we were back in action in less than 30 minutes. A couple of their contractors have also been in my house more than once. I work for the largest Chevrolet dealer in the South East of Florida, so I run across these guys sometimes when they bring their vehicles in for service and some of them remember me.
I recommend AHS to all my friends. I tell them how easy and affordable it is, and they should all get it. However, AHS should extend referral fees to their customers. If the customers refer somebody, we should get $25 or have that off the bill. I have referred a friend who now has it, even though she didn't get all the stuff that she should. Being a single mom and struggling, she only got a partial program because the deductible was too much. And I told her she just really needed it. Sure enough, she had an appliance go out and she didn't have coverage. I told her that if she had that covered, she would just pay $75 and they would come out to fix it. And when they couldn't fix it, they would replace it with a new one which exactly what they did to my refrigerator. Its parts were too old and they couldn't fix it, so I got a brand new one.

So it depends on who you get assigned to in order to have any type of work done.
Having American Home Shield is a worthwhile thing. But if you want something done immediately, it’s not going to happen. You have to get pre-approval on all warranty services. I called American Home Shield for my plumbing claim. The contractor gave me an appointment for the week. It almost took one week because that was a holiday time probably or three to four days. It did because I could not use my kitchen sink. But when he came, he was on time, was very helpful, and he fixed it. He did a wonderful job. Whenever AHS said they're going to come, they came and they did a good job.

I bought a house that's 30-something years old, and I've been here since July. I noticed a water stain on the ceiling of the garage where the bathtub was, so I called American Home Shield to have someone come and check it out. Their response has been good as far as when I book and they respond quickly. The people that they have sent out have been good people that have been nice to work with. The technician wanted to come back and reevaluate in two months after I've used the tub a whole lot because it's a tub I rarely use. The situation now is it didn’t seem to be wet. We didn't want to rip out the whole garage ceiling until we were sure it was an ongoing problem. It's still hanging in the balance.
When I had some electrical issues, the electrical part that I needed to be done wasn't covered, so that wasn't too great. I've also called AHS three times about a dishwasher that I have issues with. There's still an odor in it that's not resolved and I'm not sure where that's coming from. AHS is not perfect but it's good to have a warranty and I'm thankful I have it.

Our dishwasher broke and I submitted the claim online to AHS. Their website was very user-friendly and good. The technician took less than a week to come and when he came, I had a very good interaction with him. He was very thorough and knew what he was doing. There was some part of the thing underneath that he had to fix. He got the part in and it was another week before he came back to fix the dishwasher. There wasn't any more leak since then. Having a warranty is very valuable because instead of having to spend hundreds of dollars on a new machine or even getting someone out there, it's a flat rate. And everything seems to be included as long as it's something that we didn't cause.

We had a great experience on our most recent claim with American Home Shield, as always. We had a furnace issue and I called on a Sunday, just expecting to make an appointment during the weekend. A young man called me an hour later and said he was in Aurora and that he can be here in an hour. So he came out. I told him what the problem was and then he changed one fan. It seemed to take care of it for a few days and then the noise came back. He came right back out as soon as I called them. One of his associates did and then changed the motor. It has been fine since. The furnace seems to be running better and it doesn’t make the noises that it was making.
American Home Shield is great and opening the claim was wonderful. I just had to make the full payment. There was a little misunderstanding about how the payments were to be made. I ended up having to pay off the remainder which I did and then I could make the claim. I was a little confused about the payment procedure. But other than that, it’s always a good experience. Every time we call them, it’s stellar. We tell friends that the AHS warranty is a great product. It’s really worth the investment and takes the stress out of wondering if something in the house is going to break. If it does, we’re well covered. AHS should market the elderly folks a little bit more.
Hi, Alan. We agree, our service is great! So happy that you think enough of us to tell your loved ones.

I’ve been having problems for a long time. And last year when I was out of town, I called American Home Shield and we never got through to them. It was a horrible experience. And I ended up having to call my own vendor and they wouldn’t reimburse me so I was really mad. The next time something happens, I’ll definitely call American Home Shield so If I have to have something replaced, I’m getting what I pay for this insurance.
I did not have a good experience last year but I had a very good one this year so I’m very pleased. I like the contractor a lot. He was very efficient, professional and honest. He did a few adjustments and so far, so good. He told me something that I felt was valid about my unit, not meaning to be totally replaced for a while. And I like to hear that because we’re coming from the other perspectives. You have the person and showing it, telling you it’ll last longer than you think where the person is trying to sell you a new one. And I was happy with it. If anyone asks me, I would tell them that when I called American Home Shield, they got back to me pretty quick. They got someone who really seemed knowledgeable for me. And I felt that they were very honest and I wasn’t about to get rip off.

I filed a claim with American Home Shield last night for my heater that was not working in my HVAC unit. It was just making a bunch of noise like something was torn apart or rattled. It was still heating but the blower wasn't blowing the heat throughout the house. The contractor that they sent was pleasant and he did what he had to do. Anytime I needed to call him and check on the fan, he would pick up the phone and he didn't dodge my calls. He was helpful when he was here. He did a temporary fix where he had to put a fan, which is working now and he is supposed to come back and finish installing the new fan which was ordered. I just spoke with him yesterday and he said it will be here Tuesday or Wednesday.
The only problem I have with AHS is I very seldom get the same repair person. I'm outside the city limits and AHS normally dispatches people from Shreveport and Monroe when there are people that can do some of the work from the city of Minden. They should use the local person that way I don't have to wait. It's not a big wait but if they use the local person they would be here the same date as opposed to scheduling out two or three days. Also, people are not familiar with the area so most of the time I had to really tell them how to get here.
Sometimes when the plumbing guy comes out and if I didn’t specifically have on request exactly what's wrong, he’d tell me in a minute that he can't do anything because it's not on the sheet. For example, if I say my pipes are leaking and they get out here and the faucet needs to be changed out. Now I may have gone and bought the faucet knowing it needs to be changed out. But if that's not part of the original plan they won't do anything about that. Still, if anybody is getting service, I would recommend AHS to them. But what I would truly recommend is that you set aside a certain amount of money per month just in case something goes wrong that way you can take care of it yourself. Because every time I had someone come out, it was $75 and this year I have done that twice, so that is $150. If I set $75 aside a quarter, that's 300 that probably knocks out whatever I needed to be done.

Submitting a claim with American Home Shield is straightforward and easy to do. You can do it over the internet, but if you want to wait for someone to answer the phone, you might fall asleep. I’ve been with AHS for a long time and I’ve never had a problem, until these last two claims which have been terrible. When I had no water in the bathroom, the plumber they sent out didn’t feel that the washer and his time were as important to his customer as his schedule was to others. And then the recent one had to do with the washing machine. I talked to AHS about it and they were in the process of either finding parts or making a decision as to whether they want to fix it or replace it. Unfortunately, the information that they gave me was not very satisfying because I had been without a washing machine for a week. My washing machine needed attention big time.
AHS had fixed one of the main issues of not getting through the phone because I didn’t have any problem getting through them when I called. But, ever since I got charged the $75 upfront on my credit card, I hadn't got any good service. Before, they did super, but they didn't seem to be motivated to produce a quality service and they were not administering their contractors enough. And this seemed to be a rather immediate change. The contractors that came didn't seem to have any sense of urgency. I had two professionals out here and neither one of them could complete the job the same day.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. A social media specialist will follow up with you as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

When I contacted the contractor on a Monday, they weren't going to be able to get to my house until Thursday. I complained about that, and they said they would put the service call on hold and I could call the warranty company and see if they can assign it to somebody else. I did that but AHS could not assign it to somebody else. I assumed the contractors then would be out there on Thursday, but they had the call on hold and they couldn’t come out. Somehow, two charges for $75 got posted to my credit card account and I had a tough time getting the credit on that, but eventually, AHS credited me back.
Submitting my claims online to AHS was easy. The furnace people that were out had come out one other time for my air conditioner, and they were very good. But they had sent the dumbest people in the world to my house for other things. For my air conditioning problem, they had somebody that was an hour away, to come out five different times and they could never figure it out. When I complained loudly enough, the job was assigned to another contractor who came out and fixed it right away. They got the wrong size tank, and it was bending the pipes that led to my water meter. When they installed the tank, they rerouted the piping to where when I had another plumber come in a month later to do something different. He called his buddy to look at this, and he just left. They charged me 25 bucks to correct it. I don’t think American Home Shield has the top-of-the-line contractors to come out and fix these things.

We bought our house a few months ago and the realtor bought a one-year AHS warranty for us. We didn't read the actual policy at the time but we were told that it covers everything. However, the first thing we called them out for was for our well which wasn't working right. We found out that they don't cover anything in it so we had to pay for all of that out of pocket. We also didn't know about the service fee until that time. Then, I called for the hot tub and still none of that was covered. So there was a bit of misrepresentation on the realtor's part. We should have read what the policy covers and what it doesn't.
But having AHS' policy is a money saver and I'm glad we have it. We had our ice maker replaced and the contractor they sent was professional, friendly, timely, and did a great job. It was a great experience. We've also had them send someone out for our furnace which kept tripping and it was also a good experience. Other guys would troubleshoot and try to figure it out, but he just walked in and knew what to do. I explained to him the problem and he fixed it in a day. The performance of the heater was good since the repair. I would refer AHS to my friends.

I submitted a claim to American Home Shield by phone for my GE washer. The interaction with the rep was very good and within 24 hours, a technician was sent out. He was professional. He looked at my washer and said it probably needed to be repaired or replaced. When my new washer was delivered, the second contractor removed the old washer and connected and put in the new washer. It was done in a hurry, but everything has been okay. We have used the washer twice already and it's doing fine. American Home Shield's service was good.

We called American Home Shield and they responded immediately. And for the first time the contractor came out, it was for the icemaker. It worked for a little while and then it clipped. So we called them back and again, they responded immediately and came right out. Since the second time, the icemaker has been working good. Everything went very well and I can’t complain about the service at all.

My refrigerator broke so I called American Home Shield on the phone. The company is excellent but the wait is unbelievable. Sometimes I am on hold for an hour. My phones would lose their battery power because I'm on hold for so long and that's frustrating. But once you get someone, they answer your questions and are very helpful. It was wonderful once I got connected and a contractor got to my place in five hours. He was excellent and he answered my question. He came in with the equipment and a computer. He diagnosed what was wrong and he needed a new compressor. He then went to his computer and attempted to locate a compressor. It was a Whirlpool refrigerator but it was old. It took him less than five minutes to get an answer that that part had gone out of circulation two years ago so he was unable to repair my refrigerator.
I had to call AHS back and I was again on hold for an hour. It was for their buyout process and that turned out to be a little disappointing. They give you a refrigerator comparable to your old one. When I bought my refrigerator in the 80s, it was $2,200. But AHS only gave me $1,500 and some change so I had to pay out of pocket another $600 to upgrade it. I had a three-door refrigerator before and I wanted the specific one that I'd seen at Costco. I wanted to go to stainless steel. My other one was not stainless steel. But AHS wouldn't go a penny above and they wanted to give me a Kenmore. I didn't want any Kenmore appliances in my kitchen.
I purchased the house in 1980 and some of the things are kind of old and some of the things are newer. I'm old and a widow. I don't know how guys can fix things so I have to call and get help. And having AHS is good. They've had to come four times. The takeaway with my old refrigerator was the people said they couldn't guarantee not damaging something while taking it out of the house. It turned out that one guy was new and had only been with the company for a week. He damaged the kitchen counter and was in a lot of trouble. I was insulted by the guy because he wanted me to sign the form that he wouldn't be responsible for any damage. I refused and said that he had to be responsible for the damage because there was no reason to damage anything. He ripped the paper out of my hand and after that, they walked away.
I had to start getting through on the phone process again and waited until 9 o'clock at night. Some other people from the company came because they had to come at the end of their route. I spent a lot of time being on hold waiting for a repairman to come and then they had to deliver the refrigerator. My refrigerator has an ice maker and a water dispenser and delivery people refused to hook it up to the water connection because it was copper and they were not allowed to touch copper. They said the code is a local zoning. But when I called the community, there was no such building code ordinance against using copper tubing for a water hook up for the refrigerator.
Hi, Susan. Thank you for hanging in there with us. We have made huge strides in hiring and hope that your hold time moving forward is minimal.

We’ve had a policy with American Home Shield for about 10 years and this is the second home we’ve had and used them. They provide the value I'm expecting and I find their pricing reasonable, considering what they cover. It's a good insurance policy and they are reliable to deal with. We've needed somebody come in nine times and they have been very good. The last contractor I had, Lam-Air, was a local company. I noticed the electricity consumption jumped and there was a problem with the heat pump. I went online to submit a claim and the process has been good. They repaired the heat pump the same day and they had to come out one more time just to check on some things. I found their people very personable, very knowledgeable, very willing to share ideas on other things I could do to reduce my energy consumption. The heat pump has been working fine and I highly recommend them.

American Home Shield has always followed through with what they said they were going to do. They have been absolutely phenomenal. When my stove went out, I filed the claim to American Home Shield over the phone and the reps were great. The technicians who came out were good. They looked at the stove and determined that it needed to be fixed. AHS said they needed more information which I gave them. And then, they sent me an email telling me the stoves I could pick from and the one that they recommend. I took the one they recommended, which they then ordered and installed.
I've recommended AHS to several friends and the company has gotten several referrals off of me. I would tell my friends the experiences I went through with AHS. With the AHS insurance, the $75 plus the annual fee or monthly payment would already have your problem taken care of. And if AHS could fix it, they would. And if not, they would replace it with something that's comparable to what's on the market today. AHS will send you recommendations as well. Getting an insurance is the best thing to do.

American Home Shield is an absolutely horrible company and I would never recommend them. They wouldn’t pay for things they said they were going to pay for and they're just a scam. Every time I call them, I'd get put on hold for an hour. Then, when I had a claim for my GE appliance and it had to be replaced, they only gave me half the amount of money that it was worth. They also said that said they couldn't get the parts to fix it but the parts came to my house. Because I got such bad service, I wanted to find out how much I could get back on my contract and cancel it. Somebody was supposed to call me a month ago about that but nobody bothered to. A few years ago I made a claim for our HVAC system. They came and changed the inside portion of the unit. With time I had to call them again for the same issue and they responded to me saying they do not insure botched jobs, I explained to them that it was done by someone they sent to which they responded saying they were not responsible because they had no record of the job and that on top of that the company that did the job no longer existed. They didn't help me and I had to absorb all the costs for all the damages and work that was not done or done incorrectly.
Now they are doing the same thing to me with our washer. In December they came out for a loud noise that was happening during the spin cycle they replaced the motor and transmission of the washer, I called them back the next day because it was still making that noise and now it was also leaking, they came me another appointment and the technician never called or showed up (THIS HAPPENED TWICE), and when he did he said he could come around 8pm or later so I had to reschedule on the third appointment. A different guy came and all he did was turn on the washer and record the sound and tub movement and said it was the drive rod. After that appointment no one called or came so I spent around a month calling almost daily they could never give me an answer because they couldn't get a hold of the technician because they have no report or record from that company.
At this point I am very frustrated so I asked if another company could come, many calls later and two months later they sent out another company. When he came he asked for an overview of what had happened. I told him everything from before along with the fact that the washer was not leveling, he asked if someone had opened that washer up I told him yes he said that issue was that they never fully adjusted the washer correctly, the leak has damaged the stator, motor, suspension rods, along with the bearings he asked if I still used the washer I said yes because I was told I could he told me to stop using it because if it gave up on me it would flood my house. Now American Home Shield say as they can't replace it because it is my fault that I overloaded it, so if they think it is my fault then why did they replace the motor and transmission the 1st time.

I have AHS on 2 properties. Both properties have had plumbing issues. The plumbers they scheduled are both low rating companies. First one came for a leaking shower, told my tenant that the shower is leaking behind the marble panel through the floor and causing the water leak in the room below. They told her we needed a whole new shower enclosure. ($2800 dollars, not covered by the warranty.)
I went over and opened up the ceiling and ran the water. Clearly it was leaking from the drain as it began to drip down the pipe that showed water stains. Called them back to the job, finally they admitted it was a $35 gasket that went bad. When I called them on their BS claim that it was the faulty shower he said,\ "Well it's complicated, we're dealing with insurance". Second house different plumber, came out and noted the water heater was busted and needed to be replaced. Then proceeded to make claim that I had to have $454 worth of additional modification made to install the water heater. I cashed out on the repair to have it installed by a reputable plumber. For $800. What a rip off. Don't use them. Problem is they're all a bunch of scumbags.

When I called AHS and told them to send someone out to fix the issues they advised I had a guarantee for (90 days), and if it broke down they would fix it for free. The problem is that it's a vacation home and I knew I wouldn't be there for the next 90 days. Tough Luck! Recently I attempted to call AHS to speak to someone on the Corp Exec Staff. The phone number is 901-537-8000. When I pushed O for the operator I was told none was available. My Phone is **. I am very disappointed with AHS. When you call it's the luck of the draw! I've had to file two claims with American Home Shield as we were having problems with our water heater. I've submitted both claims online and the experience was great. When I try to call them, however, it's horrible. I was on hold for an hour and a half or more. We've had some issues with the first claim so my husband tried to call a couple of times as well and he was on hold for over an hour. Then on the last claim, we were told that the water heater needed to be cleaned. So, we've had it cleaned. But we're still having a little bit of problem with it.
The contractors were professional and seemed to know what they were talking about. However, we're not very happy with Home Shield. On the first claim, the person that came out asked me to pay them the service fee. So, I paid them the service fee. But now we're still fighting with Home Shield the vantage because they're trying to charge us the service fee even though we've already paid it. We try to get in touch with someone to work things out. And then they keep telling us, "Okay. We'll check into it. We'll call you back." And they've never done that.
I understand your concerns with the service you have received for the past two claims as well as the service fee that was paid directly to the technician. I would be glad to speak with you and resolve the service fee issue.

He came in and fixed the issue, and he told me what he did after he did it. The heater has been fine but two teams had to come in for the repair. First was on the 4th of February. And then, when it got cold, I put the heater on and I had the same problems so I had to call in. I had to pay the co-pay again and they fixed it. The first group really tried. They thought they had fixed the heater but they didn't spend enough time testing it. They put a new compressor in but they didn't fix the panel. The second group was very good and they fixed the panel on the compressor, which was the problem.
Overall, I had to wait a while for AHS to have my heater fixed which made my electric bill very high. It was very expensive but it was okay. I'm dissatisfied with AHS but I just signed the new contract. Apparently, I'm on an old contract where I had to pay so much. My kitchen sink was leaking up underneath so the contractor that was sent out by AHS tightened up the faucet underneath and solved that problem. However, the actual faucet lever was a one-handle so it was hard to turn off and get it to stop leaking. It had to be pushed down and turned kind of funky. The contractor tried to tighten that. However, he said that American Home Shield would not replace it because I could get it to turned off, and I was like “Okay, but I have to do 20 different steps to get it to turn off." That was not very pleasing to me because I didn't think it was going to stop working.
I also had one contractor come out when the screws of my bathtub drain stopper wrested out and fell out. He told me that there was no way to fix it unless I took the entire bathtub out. He also told me to let him know when I was ready to remodel. But I said, “I’ll never let you know anything because I won’t be calling you ever again.” I’ve tossed around canceling my policy. My parents had one too and I’ve told them to cancel theirs as well. I thought that if AHS was willing to do that to me, then what else would they be willing to do to my elderly parents? I have been with American Home Shield for six years now and I definitely see a decline in their customer service and their contractor’s quality. If it’s something easy and cheap for them to fix or complete, they’d do it.

The microwave had a motherboard issue and the tech recommended that the unit be replaced.
On the other hand, the dishwasher was throwing a code and the tech said that there was something electronically wrong with it. It has a green light to let you know that it has finished its cycle and if everything is okay, it will have a solid green light. But if there's an error, it flashes the green light so many times. The tech said if it flashes the green light again, we need to count how many times it flashes and then he can look up the code and find out exactly what the issue is. Overall, American Home Shield did good. They were very professional and whenever they've told us people would be out here, people have come right out and were even a little early. While the cost is fair, it just sucks if it's something simple and you pay $75 dollars and nothing was broken. Like when my AC went out and the guy said the batteries in the thermostat was switching it off. I paid 75 for that when it was really just the batteries. I had no water pressure in one sink and the contractor said it was the way that it was set up and there’s an aerator in it which I had no clue. He didn’t recommend a different aerator and said that it’s the way it’s going to be, but it’s never been that way before.
There was no pressure at all and there was nothing to be done about it because of the way that it was set up and because of the aerator. He checked the other ones and they were fine. And then he said that the one on the tub was broken but was not covered so I went out and he showed me what to do and what to buy. I just felt discouraged because he was here for 10 minutes and it was $75. I’m on a limited income and that’s a lot of money. But the company was excellent and they were very courteous. The contractor was very professional and very informative. He gave me information that I would not have known what to do. He went out of his way and he was a very nice man.
He found a faucet that was leaking outside because he went all over and he thought that it was on the hose. So, the next morning, I went out and it was still leaking so then I called. He came back on his own time because it wasn’t covered by the company and he put in a part all on his own time and didn’t charge me for it. He felt really bad coming in and charging me $75. They really understood.
I had a very good experience and I’m very happy with the company and how professional they were. I just wish people would take the time to explain to make sure that a claim is covered before someone is sent out. It can be expensive but it works out well all the way around. I would highly recommend American Home Shield. The gentleman they sent was very professional and empathetic and I had recommended the company to a lot of people that I’ve seen in the neighborhood looking for a plumber.

I'm very happy with American Home Shield. My washer got stuck and wouldn’t turn on so I called American Home Shield and they sent me a tech right away the next week. The tech was from Russia and he was awesome. He told me that he needed to order a part and that the part was going to be here on Saturday. Everything was on time. He scheduled his visit from 8 to 12 and he showed up at 8:30. He did everything professionally, got it done, tested it and went away. Everything is perfect since the repair. The only thing I'm not happy with is the monthly payment. It's ridiculous. I don’t mind the deductible when something is broken in my house, but $47 is a lot of money.
I've been with American Home Shield for a long time, and the representatives are so sweet every time I call and they don't put me on hold. They set appointments for me and they want to make sure that the contractors arrive on time. They follow up with me and call me back as well as tell that the driver is on the way. I was with Sears for so long but I never got that service from Sears. American Home Shield is the best insurance company and I also begged my sisters to go with them.

The ice maker in my freezer wasn’t working and the freezer wasn’t cold enough to keep food frozen. My dryer wasn’t working as well. I went online to American Home Shield's website to submit a ticket for those things and then they sent me an email. The claims process was fine but I had an issue with my washer and dryer. And I have a combo unit so if one thing is wrong, something else goes wrong with it, and there was no way the website could display an issue with a combo unit. So, there was no way for me to do a narrative to explain the situation and I had to wait until the AHS rep calls to ask the other issue on there. I put a ticket back in August and the company they sent came out September. The contractor was able to fix the freezer issue after coming out three times with ordering parts, ordering the wrong parts, and sending out somebody else.
And between September and December, the contractor came out four to five times for my dryer to figure out that they couldn't fix it and that I needed a new unit. That was by far the worst situation to go through. I wasn’t able to wash and dry my clothes until January when they replaced the unit. And then with that, I had to call one company to deliver and once they delivered, I had to set up another appointment with another company to set it up. So, that's three different companies I've dealt with American Home Shield and to me, if someone's delivering something, they should be able to hook it up. I wouldn't recommend American Home Shield because being a homeowner, I hate coming out of the pocket to have to fix things with things being as expensive as it is. The overall experience with AHS was shady.
Hi, Carrita. My apologies for the amount of time that it took for us to make the replacement decision. I can only imagine how frustrating that was. We will have a Social Media Specialist contact you directly.

In August, I had Sears here to replace the drum of my washing machine because the drum was broken. Since Sears replaced it in August, I’ve had issues all the time. It’s squeaking, it’s shaking, it’s molding and it’s catching all of my laundries in between the drum and the seal. AHS sent a new company out. The tech told me he thought it was the shocks and the rubber band that goes around the drum. He told me that he would order parts and get back to me. He was very nice, but this was a month ago so I don’t know what happened. I called AHS back this week and the woman said she called them and left a message. Then I still heard nothing. I called back today and the woman said that they didn’t order parts.
I go online to submit my claim if the call wait is long, but if it’s short, then I’ll just wait for somebody. But when there’s obviously a problem, I always speak to somebody. A few months ago, we could never get through to them and we would wait hours upon hours on the phone. However, it seems they fixed that problem. I feel that it's better now. If I call now, it’s usually a couple of minutes wait. It’s nice that if something does break, you know you can get somebody on the phone and get somebody there the next day. I guess my only concern is that you can’t pick who is coming to your house. Like this last issue, it’s taking a month to remedy the situation and that’s not good.
We’ve been with them long enough that we’ve had some good and some bad experiences with some contractors. It would be nice if after we’ve had a good contractor come, we could say that that contractor should be called next. Overall, the biggest issue lately is sometimes, the problems aren’t getting fixed by staff that we’d like.

Our refrigerator shorted out so I called American Home Shield to put in a claim. The guy who came to check it out was really good. It took him a few days, however. He tried to order the wiring harness for that refrigerator but it was holding up. He couldn’t get it. So he came back and tried to hardwire it. That didn’t work either and he was afraid it would be a fire hazard. So he put in a request for a new one. AHS wanted a second opinion so we went another week waiting for a second opinion. But since we live in the middle of nowhere, they could not get anybody to come out for a second opinion. They finally decided to give us a new one. We were without almost a month but the new unit we got is working great.
We would not go without American Home Shield. And I was talking to my brother about it this weekend and he was really interested in taking it up. Other people we have talked to were also impressed because we only pay $100. We are really satisfied with American Home Shield, and we will definitely keep it. We are so impressed with it that we have actually seen one for cars. I actually called them and talked to them about putting it on our motorcycle, and we are hoping it works the same way.

My townhome was built in ’94 and I’ve done a lot of repairs and replacements of the major systems, the roof, the air conditioning, and the heating. I was expressing a concern about my appliances that are now 12 years old and my friend highly recommended American Home Shield. So I checked them out and picked up a policy. Recently, my gas stove and oven stopped working. When I turned the temperature on, nothing happened. I called American Home Shield and waited for about 15 minutes to get a hold of someone. I went through a lot of loops before I got to talk to somebody and I didn’t like their whole process of filing the claim. It was a little challenging to do it online and even more challenging on the phone.
I had two phone calls about my contract that were such a turnoff and the person I talked to on the phone the first time was so snippy that I thought I was going to find another home warranty company. But the guy that came out to fix the stove was wonderful and excellent. Plus, the oven has been working perfectly since the repair. I also had a plumber come out through them a year ago and they did a good job contracting with a professional organization that did the work. So the way they talk to people on the phone isn’t really great but the bottom line is whoever’s coming out is going to do a confident job. Now, I’m going to be selling my home and I’m going to call American Home Shield and find out about offering an extended warranty on the house for the buyer to make it more appealing.

Our most recent claim was about the problems with my air conditioner. We went online to submit it and American Home Shield’s website was good. It was for a replacement of the fan and an odor that we smelled. I made the claim for the fan at 2AM and the contractor showed up at 10AM. The contractor was knowledgeable and he made sure he was taking care of everything and he did well. He showed me what the problem was, why, and then he went ahead and fixed it. He also walked me through what he did, and he made me feel comfortable, too. When the contractor first came out, he completed it. The second guy who came out went ahead and replaced our temperature gauge, changing it from the regular mercury filled to a digital, and the air conditioner has been working great since then.
We appreciate American Home Shield. The most important thing I could do is to have a warranty on my property because I’m able to be relieved of it. If I have a problem, I can go and get help with and be comfortable with who's coming out. We're looking forward to where they would have to come out and see about our connection for our AC unit.
Hello, Irving. We truly appreciate you for taking the time out of your day to advise us about your service experience. I love it when everything goes as smoothly as we intend it to.

American Home Shield's service has been good. It's not hard to file a claim but they like me to go online. I don't do online but if I don't go online, sometimes the wait is long. And trying to get through their customer service has been a little hectic. They need to have another call center with some more people. But other than that, I did a claim once online and it was okay. All the contractors we've had have been excellent. And the time it takes to have a contractor at home varies. Everything seemed to happen towards the weekend, like on a Friday, and it was not bad. Except if it happened on a Thursday, we won’t get anyone until Tuesday. We filed a claim for the washing machine. And I had to call AHS two weeks after because it was still doing some of the same things. I also had a garbage disposal problem. They'd been able to fix the issues that I've had.

My stove made a loud noise, popped and tripped the breaker. It was put back on but only the stove top worked, the oven part didn’t. I called in the claim to AHS which was fine but I had to go online because I had to change credit cards out. The contractor was there in the timeframe that he said he was going to be there. He was cordial, got the job done and my stove has been up. Everything’s still working.

I had two separate plumbing claims about four weeks apart due to some leaks with a pipe. These were small leaks, but one caused some damage underneath since it had been going on for a long time. The contractor that American Home Shield sent out was good. It was a company called Durango and they came two different times and fixed it both times. We were really pleased and we would use them again.
It’s easy to submit a claim with AHS online but on the phone, it’s always a long wait to get anybody. This recent claim was a different leak and of course, I couldn't call anyone at AHS, so the company thought they were coming to redo what they had originally done since it was within a certain amount of time from the last repair. So when they came out, the contractor submitted it as a new claim. Overall, American Home Shield is a good insurance and they have good service providers, just don’t expect to talk to anybody.

AHS is very valuable to me. When I have a claim, I just call them and they send somebody out. If there’s a problem, they resend the person out until it’s fixed. It’s sweatless. Right now, I have a pending claim with them for a plumbing issue. The dishwasher does not go completely out and there is a horrible smell. Their man has to come back out and look at it again.

My dryer wouldn’t start back in December. American Home Shield took two weeks to send somebody out. They fixed it but it broke again this week. When I called American Home Shield, they said the 30-day warranty for that was gone so I had to pay another $75 to have a new service ticket. I wasn’t happy about that. I had to use the dryer next door at my parents’ house. But the length of the time it took them to fix it was 30 minutes and they put a new belt on it. I thought it was good as new. Then, it broke again Tuesday night and I called American Home Shield. They gave me a different company this time and they'll get out here about Monday.
That company called me the next day and said that American Home Shield sent a ticket but didn’t tell them what was broken. I told them it was the dryer. Then they asked how old it was and I told them. They said that could be a problem because it's about 10 years old and sometimes it's hard to find parts for. If that was the truth then they will be out here Monday and tell me they’ll have to order the parts, then I’ll be without a dryer for another week at least. I’ve been with American Home Shield for a good 15 years paying $40 a month and I’m a little disappointed. I forward so much money into it that I could have bought 20 dryers by now.
I’ve used it for four claims at the most and I’m contemplating of getting rid of it because I haven’t used it that much. But as soon as I get rid of it and something major will happen, I’ll be screwed so I sure wish it didn’t take so long to get somebody to fix things. Two weeks is too long. I get it that they can’t come right away, but they should be able to look at the available companies. Tell me who can get out here the quickest and then let me select them. If I don’t want that company, then I’ll use somebody else. But instead, it was "Who do you want to use and then I’ll tell you if they’re available or when they come out." That’s kind of tough. If I could do it on my own and find somebody else that was willing to use American Home Shield, instead of having to go through the contract, I’d probably would have it fixed by now.

When we had a leaky pipe issue and an issue with our sump pump, I went to the American Home Shield website and registered. They picked up my claim and showed me our warranty then I made my claims right through it. I got an email that night saying that someone will contact me within 24 hours. I got a call from the plumber the next morning and he was very nice and professional. He did the work right away and took care of the problem within 45 minutes. Everything is working well and I haven’t had any issue since. Having AHS is nice as a fail-safe because even if our house is newer and was supposed to be a little bit constructionally sound, I still have some issues. I'd tell a friend of mine that AHS is definitely worth it and it is a peace of mind to have. It has kept some of the cost down for replacing things that went wrong within the first year.

With American Home Shield it appears that everything is a matter of policy and following procedures regardless of the customer’s needs. We had to secure power to our hot water heater and drain the water out of it and then we turned in a service call with AHS. When I had not heard from anyone I called the contract company only to find out they were located two counties and two hours away. I was told by the contractor it would be two days before anyone could get to us. When I called AHS back and explained the situation to them and asked why they couldn't get a contractor in my area they were not concerned.
Everything was within “guidelines” and they would not make any attempt to locate a service contractor in my local area. I live in a county of over 780,000 and AHS has no one that they have a service contract with. That's false and they should be ashamed of their lack of customer service and inability to use reason over policy. This is an active service call.

Had American Home Shield for a few months, It’s a scheme to make money off of homeowners that are trying to save their hard earned money. Please do not waste your time or money as I have. I waited 45 minutes each time I call them to follow up my request! I’ve had the worst experience. On three different occasions the company double charged me before repairs are complete and marks them as complete. Meaning I have to pay both fees (with what has been false promise of reimbursement) to get them to come out and do the work. "They don't cover anything", they don't working honesty! I am sorry I ever signed up with that company and I would never refer them to anyone. American Home Shield is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

I contacted AHS regarding being charged $125 for a service tech from Service Mechanical to come back to my home because they failed to pull a permit with the City of Newport News and arrange an inspection of the install of the new Gas Pack and the hot water heater. I felt that I should not have to pay for a $125 service call fee for something their technician failed to do! Now they are trying to say I owe $250! I have not used their service and do not wish to do business with them anymore. There is no place in their (AHS) website that allows a customer to cancel a contract or dispute anything. When you call to speak to customer service agent I am on hold for over 20 minutes before I can speak to someone! I want the money returned to my account and my account closed!
The $125 that was deducted in November needs to be placed back in my account. I spoke with their representative in January and was told I would be refunded and I have not been refunded as of the writing of this complaint! Poor customer service and shoddy contractors. Their website is full of dead links. If you click on "Contact Us" there is no listing of a corporate address or corporate email. There is no link any place on the website to cancel the contract. If you click on "Chat" link it takes you nowhere. AHS's website is a joke. They give customers a run around both online and on the phone!

"When a part of a microwave oven is cracked or damaged, radiation can potentially leak out." “Microwave radiation can leak through the door and be harmful to your health." These quotes I have taken from several websites. I have attached photos of the crack in the door. By not replacing the microwave, American Home Shield is putting my family and I at risk of microwave radiation which is harmful to one’s health. American Home Shield had to send somebody else to work on my refrigerator and I'm still waiting for them to come back out and put the parts on it. So far, I only had one trouble with one contractor and I told AHS that I didn’t want to deal with that company. So now I’m not having problems anymore, especially in getting stuff done.
