When the guys sent by American Home Shield came the first time to fix my AC problem, they told me that if I had any problems within 60 days, they would come out, service the problem and I wouldn't have to pay any fee. They fixed the problem when they came the first time, and it was before it got cold. Then it started getting cold and I was putting up with it for a while, then eventually I decided to turn the heater on. When I turned the heater on for the first time in the beginning of winter, it was doing the same thing. This was within that 60-day period, so I called it in and I told American Home Shield that it was the same problem. The AHS rep said that it was for the AC when I called in the first time, and this time it was for the heater and that was a different thing. I said, “Yeah, but it’s doing the same exact thing as it was doing when I called it in when it was the AC problem.”

The tech guy came back out and he was excellent. He remembered exactly what the issue was the last time. The thermostat was the one that was causing the problem. So, he replaced the thermostat and he checked both the AC and the heater and then it worked fine. But I felt like the AHS wanted to just bill me for the service without even considering that I explained to her that I was within the 60-day window. I knew that it was the same problem ‘cause I was there with the guy when he first came and started doing the testing, and I saw what he had done. The representative was just doing her job but I felt like there wasn’t so much concern about my heater getting fixed, but she was more concerned about the billing.

Before this claim, my septic system backed up in my house and I paid the 125. When I first started with American Home Shield, I specifically remember the rep telling me that the covers on my septic tank was good for only one use. I ended up paying for the work that the guys did on my septic tank. They didn’t replace the tank itself but the drain lines had to be redone again. But the septic tank was full and they only let out enough of the stuff that was in the tank just so they could do their work. They even told me that I needed to have it emptied.

When I told the AHS rep that I needed to have it emptied, she said that the insurance doesn’t cover someone coming out to empty out the tank. Waste started backing up back into my house and that was a cause that would cover it, but the representative that I talked to made it seem like they would do nothing at all based on that. It was rude, the way the representative was trying to explain it to me. She did not help me and it was my worst experience with AHS. Overall I’m satisfied because it was good enough to have someone come out. I don’t know of any other company that does this type of work, but I would change based on that experience with my septic tank. I know it would be years before something like that might happen again, but I wouldn’t want to be on American Home Shield if it came to that.

In mid-December, the washer was filling up with water and then not draining. After a week or so of thinking that it was just an issue with the water, I submitted a claim to American Home Shield at night and set up the visit of the technician over the internet. This was the first time that I accessed the system and I tried to look for the categories that this service would fall under. In the beginning, I could not find the categories that applied to the appliances, then I logged out and when I logged in again, the categories were there.

The scheduling of the service was fairly easy and pretty good, and there was no issue at all with the service. The next morning, I got a call from the contractor that was assigned to the claim to finalize the time and the date that they were going to come and send the technician. I had to change the time a couple of times because something came up and my wife was not going to be at home so I had to call them back and they were flexible and changed it right away. Then the contractor came and looked at the whole thing. The technician then left a little explanation of what happened to my wife and got a signature from us to make sure that he showed up and fixed the appliance. Maybe AHS could have emailed or called us afterwards to check if our problem had been fixed. But then, if I had any problem, I would've given a call right away to AHS. Everything else was simple and straightforward.

I have had the same appliance repair request for 3 weeks. I keep calling and calling because they keep assigning me the same contractor who admittedly can't repair the name brand machine. It must be done by someone else. Not only that, the work order keeps canceling. I speak with people whose vernacular is so strong that I can't understand it. It eventually comes out like this... "what be your contract number?" "is dat all?" Come on!

We have had nothing but problems since day one with AHS. First, it is nearly impossible to get through to them, leaving you on an endless loop between their inferior website and customer no-service phone system. I have grown accustomed to being on the phone 2 hours a day (no exaggeration either) between AHS and their inept contractor. We have been without AC for a month because their contractors took it apart and literally left it in pieces in my garage and driveway. We have had 7 appointments, twice they showed up 6 hours before their scheduled time, they didn't show up at all once and didn't have the correct parts on the other appointments. This vendor changed one appointment without informing us on another occasion and became argumentative with us over it. Neither AHS nor their vendor call us, any contact is initiated by us.

Now, since they cannot fulfill their obligation, AHS has offered to "cash out" with us, which means they are washing their hands of us by offering to pay us $1,000 to put towards a $2,500 job. I am absolutely astonished that anyone can stay in business treating their customers in the manner these companies do. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away as you can!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with American Home Shield. The water tank ended up having a hole on the top of it and water was coming out. Filing the claim was very simple. I did it over the internet on a website and then I had someone call me in less than 24 hours. The contractors AHS sent have been to our house three other times prior so it was good. Everything was awesome. Everything is back to normal and I'm so glad that we have American Home Shield. I've told friends about AHS and three of them already use it.

    Reviewed April 12, 2018

I’ve been with American Home Shield for 12 years. I’ve had them out four times this year already and it was all good. However, this last time, it was not like they’re listening. What happened was that I had my whole kitchen remodeled. So I thought for sure that they would see that the faucet itself has frozen up by hard water. Meaning, it was pinched up, calcified and fossilized. It used to be a $200 moving faucet where I can move the head from sink to sink. Well, now it’s petrified like a trunk that wouldn’t move. So in October, it started moving the whole thing.

A guy said that it was because the silicone was loose underneath it, which makes sense because they used silicone so it won’t leak underneath there. But probably some bolts had rusted out. The point was that my faucet was still working. It wasn’t that big of a gap and there was no leakage. I called the first group out and the guys seemed nice enough. They worked on some toilets and other faucets that just needed their handles straightened on them, so they didn’t look all askew. I told them that the faucet was not moving from sink to sink.

I thought it was perfectly understood that that calcification was the main problem. However, the guy who came out went home and he sat on it for a month. He did not turn in the issue to AHS. I called twice and it took an hour in November and December to get a hold of somebody. With me urging and calling his office, I told him to turn in the report and I was confident he was going to say that my faucet was calcified or fossilized. The main thing was that the faucet wasn’t moving where it was supposed to be moving. However, the guy didn’t mention that. So the woman from AHS who I spoke to on the phone asked me if I wanted somebody else to come out and give me a second opinion. I agreed since I had all the confidence in the world.

AHS sent out Roto-Rooter. I’ve had Roto-Rooter before and they’ve done a good job. Their guy came here and he was prompt. That is the only thing good I can say about it. He told me that he's the faucet man and that he's the expert. He was super confident. The gist of it is that he thought he could save me and AHS money. So he went over there with his wrenches. He said that the faucet was calcified, petrified and was not moving. He also said that he could fix the problem, and so he started greasing it up and then he put his wrench on it, metal on metal. I asked him not to scratch my faucet and that I have rubber for him. But then he said that he doesn't need it. He used the wrench to loosen it up and I was very surprised. He was holding the piece in his hand and then he said that he broke my faucet. It was in two pieces.

I could use the dishwasher. There’s no water leaking because I haven’t turned the faucet on. But I have the dishwasher that I can turn the water underneath it and it will turn on. I’m very careful when I do that. But in one minute, I came holding those two pieces in his hand. He said it was not his fault and that it was going to break anyway. I told him the faucet was working, and he said that someone has forced it. I then told him that I have arthritis, I’m 53 and that I can’t force anything. I also said that he was the one who put wrenches on it, greased it up thinking he could save us money. Maybe he should have used the solvent.

Nevertheless, I’ve been without a faucet since the 18th and I’ve had to use the bathroom sink to bring water into the kitchen and sink. But I live alone, so it’s not like I cook every day. But he changed his mind even though he has said he broke it and I sympathized with him. I said that it’s still broken and I’ve never put a wrench to it.

He told me to see a little knot and that if he would write them in, AHS would cover it. But they’re not going to cover it because the knot has been cinched off. I was looking at it and said that somebody put wrenches to it. It tore at the very knot or these little things that make it rotate. It was seared off. It was broken. He tried but this was wear and tear and that was what I read on the warranty. The base of the faucet was loose, but it was never been about the base. But still, he didn’t do it. He went back, waited three weeks with me calling AHS begging to call them at Roto-Rooter, and talked to the office manager.

They didn’t mention that the faucet was fossilized. They only looked at the base of the faucet. I have the pictures and the faucet. I also have a witness and I told AHS that I know these are women who answered the phone. I wasn’t rude because I’ve been with them all 12 years. I’ve had two houses with them and now back down to one. But the thing is, the woman kept saying that it was finalized. So I asked to speak to her supervisor but she said that the supervisor was busy. And so I told her to please have the supervisor call me.

Right now, I’m dissatisfied with my experience with AHS. This faucet thing is a frozen faucet. That’s all it is. AHS cares, although some of the comments I read about them were awful. I haven’t been contacted by mediation or a supervisor and that’s not good. Overall, American Home Shield has been good. But I hope they rectify my situation because I’d be so disappointed.

The ice maker of our refrigerator wasn’t working. My wife tried calling American Home Shield to submit a claim for this issue, but the wait time was really long, so then she went online to submit it. The contractor that came out is a really good guy and he was super. He didn’t have the parts with him to fix the ice maker, but he's coming back some time this week to finish the job.

Our overall experience with American Home Shield has been really good. I've been pleasantly surprised, especially with our ability to just go online and schedule a service. We've now done this twice and it was super easy to do, and that part really helps. Then the people at American Home Shield call us within 24 hours and we also get a phone call from whoever is going to come out. I would tell a friend to go with American Home Shield. Our warranty with this company is only for a year, but we would renew it as it seems to make good sense.

I definitely recommend American Home Shield. It’s very easy to use them. You just have to call in your repair and then someone calls you within 24 hours and comes out whenever they set the appointment with you. We had several outlets that weren’t working properly. There was no electricity going to some of them. And when you plug into certain outlets, they caused the lights in the living room and the dining room to all turn off. So there was a short in there somewhere. Half of our living room worked and half didn’t so we couldn’t turn the lights or the TV on. And then our dining room was completely out of power.

I submitted the claim online. Then I got a message saying the contracting company would contact me within 24 hours. But I was off the next day, so I reached out to them myself to see when they could come out and they were there the next day. The techs were very nice and helpful. They told me what was going on and they were able to fix all the problems. They did a good job and everything is working good now. My experience with American Home Shield and with the electrical company were both very positive.

I had a leak in my kitchen faucet so I called American Home Shield and the plumber came out. I asked the plumber if I could still keep the old faucet, and he told me that I couldn't and that I was going to need a new one. I already bought a new one, and he installed it and he told me that American Home Shield will probably reimburse me for the value of the faucet I had if it falls within their range. It was $150, so I called American Home Shield and told them about it and they said they would contact the plumbing service that came out here and find out from the plumber what he thought and get back with me. But they haven't and that was at the end of November.

I called three times on November from the initial time that the plumber came out here and he told me to contact American Home Shield because he didn’t know what happened. And each time I called, American Home Shield said, “Well, we'll contact the plumbing service and get a report from them,” and call me back. Two weeks ago I called and told them that no one called me yet. And American Home Shield said they were still waiting for the plumbing company to call them back. So I told them that I'll wait another couple of weeks.

I called back American Home Shield in December and the lady told me that they will contact the plumbing company again. I haven't called them back again, but I'm not going to keep calling back. I'm just not going to renew with American Home Shield when my contract is up in May. I'm very dissatisfied with them. The service has been usually good as far as them sending somebody out here to take care of the problem, but it seems if you're talking getting reimbursed for something, it's not like they want to jump right on it and solve the problem or let you know whether they're going to reimburse your or not.

The bathtub in our upstairs bathroom was leaking through the kitchen wall down into the kitchen. We only noticed the leaking when the girls would take a bath. When the water was sitting in the tub, it would leak. But if they would take a shower, it wouldn't leak, so we're trying not to use it for baths. We had someone come out in December from American Home Shield. He did something and he said it was fixed. He put water in it, let it sit for a bit and had a cup of coffee with me. It didn't leak, so we thought it was fixed. The girls took a bath again last week and we resubmitted the claim but AHS sent out a different company the second time and the guy cut the wall in the kitchen and then he saw where it was actually leaking.

I submitted all my claims online and their process was super easy, I love it. I could click back and see that in December I had submitted the claim and the guy came out and fixed it. And then there's a little tab that says "still not fixed". So, I just click that and then it resubmitted the claim again without the $75 fee because I had already paid that. The contractors were excellent. I was also happy with the guy that came in December. They give me the window, they came on time and did the job.

The girls took a bath last night and it didn't leak. Now we have a hole in our ceiling, which sucks, but my dad can fix that so that's not a big deal. Having AHS is definitely worth it. We actually just re-upped for our second year. We bought our house in June last year with the option to re-up and keep the warranty, so we did that because if you had a plumber come out and fix that, it would cost way more than $75. And they did the rekey when we first moved in, which was super nice. They did all the doors for $75 and all the same locks and keys which is huge, so it was nice.

I had a claim with American Home Shield that I canceled because it would take them a week to dispatch somebody to fix our refrigerator. And being without a refrigerator for a week is a bit complicated. But before that, I made a claim for the pool heater that wasn't working. I called AHS to dispatch somebody and two guys came shortly after the call. They looked at it and they said it was not repairable because there were several problems such as the pilot light tubing being broken but it wasn’t.

I requested a second opinion and it turned that there was a loose wire that was in the wrong place. He pulled it out where the other guys connected it to and then put it on another pin and all of a sudden, it worked. He was here for five minutes. And then, I got a notice that I owed the contractor $75 for the second call. I called them back and told them from what I understood, if their diagnosis was wrong, I wouldn’t owe another $75 because it was the same service call. Then, I called American Home Shield. First, there was a young lady who said she couldn’t do anything and recommended that I call back another day. After that, I talked to a gentleman who understood what the problem was and gave me credit for the second $75.

We also had problems with the air conditioning one time and it took them a long time to come out in the summer. On the other hand, I had a pool pump problem and a gentleman came within hours after the service call. So the quality of work varies from the contractor that AHS uses. On that note, I would tell others to shop around since AHS is not the cheapest and not the best. But if the wait time wouldn’t be as long as it was in some cases, they'd be better.

My last claim with American Home Shield was for a clog in the sink. If you deal with them online they are good and efficient. Online is perfect because once you registered a claim, they hook you up with a contractor, who then calls you within 24 hours, sometimes 12 hours, and they show up on time and everything's okay. They come in, look at the problem and fix it. It took half an hour and it was done. And if it needs follow up, they will have to contact American Home Shield.

The only problem we always have with them is if you have any issues with them and you wanna talk to an AHS customer representative over the phone for certain follow-up matters, it's really difficult or sometimes it takes them one to one hour and a half to respond. They probably have a volume of customers. Also, when they call you sometimes for any estimate, they don't give you a number that you can vision the individual. They just say you call this number, and then you have to trace that person who actually left me a message. And if they need any certain approvals, then they have to wait for American Home Shield to call back or to respond on the phone. But despite that, I'm happy with them.

I had a new roof put on our house. When they put the roof on, one of the nails on the roof punctured the line from the AC unit to the condenser unit in the house. The roofer was responsible for fixing it and they had to come back to do it. American Home Shield checked things out and it was quick response. The contractor found the issue and then was able to provide me with the information. He was a good guy. The only thing that was unfortunate was he didn’t have the right equipment the first time so he had to come back a second time with some kind of equipment to find where the depressurization was happening. He knew that the unit didn’t have any pressure on it or have any Freon but he didn’t have whatever gear he needed to find where the leak was. He came on a Friday but then couldn’t come back until like Monday or Tuesday the next week. It was a few days before he can come back.

We were fortunate that the weather was very cool so we didn’t have to use the air conditioning much. It was just a day or two where it was uncomfortable. But not too bad. If you have a home where you want to have some certainty on repair times and support, Home Shield is a very good option. We’ve had them for other things and it’s all been good. From promotions to all the claims that we had over the last year and a half, they’ve been really good for most of them.

They needed a piece and they were trying to get it, but since the microwave was so old, it was not made anymore. While I don't have a microwave, a friend brought over hers. AHS gave me a new one but the technicians haven't installed it yet and it's sitting on the floor in a box. The time on when they're going to come out is taking a while because the folks who do the install just come at a certain time so I had to take off work. They didn't exactly say what day they'll come yet but once the person comes to cut my kitchen tile down, then I will call them back. But when I call, I'm just on the phone for a long time and the wait time is an hour. Other than that, American Home Shield and their services have been good to have.

I had a clogged drain pipe in the bathroom. I submitted a claim to AHS over the phone and their contractor unclogged it. My son comes to the house and so I introduced him to the guy. The guy asked him if he had his cellphone on him and my son said yes. And so the guy said, "I'm gonna send you a message. Let me know when you get it." So he did. And my son let him know up "Here, I got this message." He took the phone and where it was with the survey of what we thought he had done. He filled it up. First off, I was the customer and he didn't even ask me. I think he thought I was too old and dumb. Second of all he answered his own survey and that was dishonest.

If I ever have the need to have plumbing I would tell AHS I do not want it with that company. But since they unclogged the drain it has been fine. The only other thing is I had an issue with one of the toilets that kept running. And so the gentleman came out and said he thought he had fixed it. It still continued to run. And so he said he would have to get authorization for him to do whatever something about the pressure was too high or something. And I had to pay another $75.

I was really disappointed. My husband has always fixed anything that happens around the house but he has been diagnosed with dementia and he can't do that stuff anymore and my son's busy and that was why I got the insurance. I almost quit it because of that other $75. And the fact is I pay for three policies. We have a rent house, our home and my son manages the rent house. So I bought a policy for his home also. It's not as if we're just a little fly-by-night. I know the scheme of things but still we had three policies with them.

I called American Home Shield and the wait was so long, so I just hung up and got online. Then somebody came to take a look at it, and he said that it needed a new part and then he left. So we assumed we needed a new part. But we got an email from American Home Shield and it said that we were supposed to fill a survey of the experience we had with the microwave, and then it was still being evaluated for whether it could be fixed or not. American Home Shield could be a little clearer on what's happening with our submission.

The contractor the company sent out did something which made it a bit better. The hot water was running okay, and then it just got worse. When I called back, the company said I had waited too long and it was too late. That was money I gave away. So, I told American Home Shield not to send the same people back out to me. When the second people came, they mentioned that I had a lifetime warranty on my faucet which I didn't know since the first company didn't tell me about it. They gave me the number to call. When the new faucet came, I called them back out and it's working now. Additionally, when I call American Home Shield to submit a claim, I have to wait too long for somebody to come to the phone. I've waited an hour and sometimes, the phone would go out while I was waiting.

I had some good and bad experiences with American Home Shield. I started with them 10 years ago and I’ve used them a lot because I have a very large home, which is about 4500 square foot. But I’ve had issues with them. And my biggest complaint that I’ve shared with the supervisors multiple times is that the waiting time for the consumer and the company is ridiculous. I’m still with AHS but I hate calling them. I had a timer on my phone and I literally had to wait over 2 hours and 20 minutes to talk to a representative, which was frustrating. They keep giving me this mouth service that they’re training and hiring.

I had an electrician that they had sent out in the past to look at some faulty outlets and switches. That contractor spent over two hours pulling plates, looking at wires, taking pictures, and documenting. But apparently, their bid came in a little high, and so, AHS sent out another company. The other company that came next wasn’t here for more than 20 minutes. They never took notes, never pulled a plate, and then they told AHS that I needed three switches and a couple of outlets. Then, AHS said that they would use that company. I had the right to refuse and so I told AHS that I would just take cash and pay the rest, which was a lot out of my pocket. I knew I was going to end up paying big time. But then, I felt safe with my family that all of it was taken care of.

The dispatch people did switch boarding. Sometimes, after two hours, they’ll drop me off, or I’ll be in the middle of a conversation explaining my situation of what repair I needed, and they’ll drop me, and then I have to start all over again. I have had several companies that AHS sent out through the years. As a firefighter, I become aggressive. Although I’m very polite, I don’t take no for an answer. I hooked my son-in-law, Doug, up with them. He’s a doctor and he’s more compassionate and more soft-spoken. And he dropped them the first time. He had to wait on the phone over an hour and had issues with them. He went with another company, and he told me that there are other companies out there that are good and cheaper. AHS is not cheap and I expected the best of the best from them.

My wife and I had used AHS quite a bit in 2017, and it had been a damn battle. There was a company that I had to fight with to get them out here, and then AHS had sent them out here. Sears came out and said that my door boot was bad, as well as the washing machine and my thermostat. Also, I can literally fry an egg on the top of my dryer, and that was a fire hazard. And so, Sears reported to AHS, and then AHS sent another company out here probably because of the cost. The next company was great. Our clothes were coming out stinky since that boot was holding all that water, and Rob, the technician who came out here, was very professional and he fixed the thermostat. However, this was the third time AHS has had to have a technician work on the washer/dryer.

When the ice maker on our refrigerator went out, AHS sent multiple people out to try to fix it and a couple other companies were duplicates, wherein the technicians tried to figure out why the ice maker wasn’t making ice. They finally told me that the cost of the four technicians that AHS had sent out could’ve bought me a new refrigerator. And then finally, AHS told me how much they were going to give me, which was a joke. They told me to buy a new refrigerator because none of the technicians could figure out the ice maker.

I realized by reading the contract that AHS looks at years, and wear and tear. And then they figure out a dollar figure. But I have learned from talking to supervisors and people at AHS that they lowball everything. By the time we ended up buying a similar refrigerator that had a working ice maker, we put out almost $1000 out of our pocket. So, that was really lowballing. Obviously, we needed a refrigerator and we were appreciative that we got something back from AHS. But the fees have gone up each time a technician came out. It was not like what it used to be.

I bought the best of the best warranty and I’m paying the premium. And I can’t see buying part of AHS if I need something else fixed. With the AC, AHS found that it was still under warranty. So, the company that AHS contracted has been waiting for this part. And now, we’re going on over three months. I’ve been out of the country for 21 days, got back and called them. They said that the part was in the warehouse and that they’ve been calling us to pick it up. Also, they said that they were going to need a dry day to do the job. And so we put a day on the calendar.

I’m very experienced with AHS and one of the supervisors told me that she was working with a new person. And I even heard her tell that person to document what’s going on. Come to find out that the person didn’t document the conversation and that became a month-long battle with AHS to get the job done. There were so many people that work there and my mistake was that I didn’t write that person’s name down, and I should’ve because I was so frustrated at that time. And because of that, AHS kept giving me the runaround.

Also, my hardwood floors are imported from Canada. They’re all from old growth trees and we don’t even let the grandkids in here with their shoes on. And I have to very seldom ask the contractors to have footies. They have them in their back pocket. They slip them on and they come in. Over the years, I kept a lot of technicians but there was one technician who said no. I was sitting there, reading the newspaper when that technician pulled up. I could tell just by the way he got out of his truck that he didn’t want to be here. He didn’t want to put his footies on. I asked him if he has footies and he said that if I was going to make him go back out and get them, then he’ll have to put them on. He was a jerk, and I let AHS know that. I told them that I’m not using that company and wouldn’t let that technician in my house. AHS needs to wake up.

My heating units weren’t working and even though I could hear it, there was no warm air coming out of the vents. Someone got to me once I submitted the claim to American Home Shield. It only took them 24 hours initially. And then it took a couple of days for the contractor to diagnose the problem, go and get the part. During that, I stayed in a hotel for work. The contractor was fine. They went to work once they got the parts. They got it fixed and took three days for the home to warm up even though I have the part. When I got back here it was 65 degrees. It’s a big house and it took several days for it to warm up. Everything went very well as far as them diagnosing and knowing what they needed.

Their expenses are minimal and they are responsive. They got great vendors and I feel that the vendors themselves feel the service that they provide are important to the consumers. Overall, I think AHS made us a dream and I connected three other people to them. I told them that it made sense economically. Things in the homes are going to go out. And they're going to be paying $4,000 because people tell you that you need to replace the unit through them but most of the time, they just need to be serviced. My daughter was told she had to pay about $6,000 for one of her units and when I told her about AHS, she went to them then they fixed it and she paid $75.

I called American Home Shield for three things. One was for my AC, and the AC guy came and changed something. The AC has been working fine since then. And then I called for my electricity. I was having some power outage on some of the outlets, and the electricity guy came in and took a look at that. He was very cordial and did what he needed to do. I paid the $75, but he didn’t do any repairs and just told me that I didn’t need to worry about it. Then the third thing that I had called for, which they did not come and fix and I still need a refund for, is my garbage disposal. I paid for it, but the service wasn’t rendered, and they haven't given me my money back yet.

The process of submitting claims online is very easy and very good. Everything is flawless there, but the phone system is horrendous. It takes 45 minutes just for someone to come on the phone and talk to you. It’s a long wait. But once you've gotten on the phone with someone, they generally try to help you out, and they're very nice on the phone and they try to give you options.

American Home Shield provides a very good service when they give customers options to select a few items that the customer that will be using. But they probably can do better by having somebody answering the phone a little bit quicker than 45 minutes. Most people don’t have 45 minutes. Even though I placed my order online, I needed to talk to them sometimes. For my garbage disposal, the person told me that I called in on a Wednesday. I processed the thing on a Wednesday. They wouldn't be able to come out until the next Wednesday. It's my garbage disposal and I had to wait for seven days, so I finally canceled it out and tried to fix it myself, which I ended up doing. They would need to have more than one vendor that is able to meet things that are kind of critical for a client to be taken care of. Other than that, I've already referred them to four other people. We are sales agents as well, so I also use them for my clients.

Our most recent claim with American Home Shield was about our clothes dryer. The dryer mechanism wasn’t turning around so we called and submitted a claim online. It was easy. They responded to the claim within a day and then they were out within a day. It took a couple of days to get parts, but it was what we expected. A guy came out the next day and saw that the belt had broken. He ordered the part and then came back five days later when the part was in and replaced it and everything was fine. It was a simple fix and the dryer is the same as it was before. The guy just had to replace the belt.

The claim prior to that, the washer had a leak. And it was the same thing - the guy needed the part, came out, and my wife said he knew what he was doing and got the part and fixed it. I have promoted AHS a few times. Last night I was talking to one of my neighbors about American Home Shield and what I did and how pleased we were because she just spent 15 grand on air conditioners.

We have a hot water baseboard heater throughout the house and one of the radiators upstairs was not putting out any heat. The first contractor that American Home Shield sent was terrible. He never contacted me and it took me about 10 days to get him to return my calls or my emails. He made multiple commitments to show up and do the work but never did. Finally after about two weeks, I was told to go back to American Home Shield and get somebody else assigned to the ticket. I would get rid of that first contractor.

American Home Shield assigned the claim to another contractor and W.L. Brady reached out to me within an hour of me getting off the phone with American Home Shield. They scheduled a service visit for two days later and showed up on time. They fixed the problem and radiator is working fine now. When it was broken, it was a huge inconvenience because while we had no heat in a bathroom upstairs, one of the pipes broke. We've lived in this house for years, and we've never had a pipe freeze so that was something.

But my wait times when I call in to speak to customer service vary from one hour to two and a half hours and I don't know what American Home Shield needs to do, whether it's as simple as hiring and training some more people. But other than that, I like the service and the ability to know I'm protected on the cost of repairs for things around the house. I'm satisfied with them and I would recommend them to a friend.

The security company I use for my house had wired the thermostat wrong and the guy figured that out then he fixed the stuff up and wired the thermostat correctly.

American Home Shield has been great. I called the office, made an appointment for service for our AC and heat, and it was within one day of service to being corrected and if there were any problems after that to be extended out to be fixed. Ricky, the service tech that keeps coming out here, got right on it and the problem was fixed. We want to keep him as our service tech. He's very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He knows his job and he's been doing it right the first time, unless another problem arises. He doesn't need to be released from the his company at all. He needs a pay raise or promotion. He's one of the best that the company got. Other than that, the service with AHS is outstanding. Check out American Home Shield first before you check out anybody else.

I went online to file a claim for a problem I was having with my heating. That whole process was really easy. I was also able to talk with their customer service and they were polite, understanding, professional and willing to help. Then the contractor did really well because he gave me an advance call and let me know he was on his way so I didn't have to spend the whole day twirling my thumb so that was really helpful. He was very nice and professional. He had to come back because he had to order a part this last time but it was still fine. AHS did a good job. They even did a follow-up call to make sure.

They were very good and they got right to it. Somebody called me within that day. In fact, they were faster than I can have them come because I had just broken my arm. And when the contractor came in, he took care of everything and he was very polite. Since the repair, everything was fine. My husband double checked it again this past weekend and it was good. Overall, I would recommend American Home Shield. I’m a realtor and I’m very careful who I recommend. I would like to start by saying that my husband and I have been customers for a very long time and that we also have a rental property with AHS. We called in a claim on our refrigerator the very beginning of March. AHS sent out two companies both of which stated they couldn't fix it. So AHS sent out a third company Intertech on the 21st of March. It took this company an entire week to turn in the summary to AHS. The 21st was a Wednesday they didn't turn in the summary until the following Wed! Then we were told that it would take 3-5 days to get the part.

On the 3rd of April my husband called AHS, they placed a call to the company and the company "claims" that the part was damaged and they had to send it back. On April 6th a guy contacted my husband and reached out to Intertech again. At this point Intertech states the part will be in no later than Monday which was the 9th. It is now the 11th. The refrigerator has completely gone out. We are having to spend money that we do not have on eating out, because we can't buy groceries. The entire situation has left a very bad taste in our mouth. Not to mention I called and requested to speak to a supervisor also on the 6th and to this date no one has attempted to contact me.

I called back on yesterday April 10th and was on the line a total of 2 hrs JUST TRYING TO GET A SUPERVISOR!!! I was transferred around 3 times. The 3rd person took my information and claimed once again that I would get a call from the person that handles the account with Intertech. That was now 24hrs ago... no call. Now the time frame with Intertech has turned into next Monday. No one is considering the fact that at this point we do not have a refrigerator. If this is how you treat loyal customers that has told every homeowner that they know about getting the insurance with you guys, I'd hate to see how you treat your enemies. At this point we are just waiting on this nightmare to end and for our contract to be up. AHS contracts this company out not us, and they aren't taking responsibility. At this point the refrigerator should have been replaced. I have never encountered such bad service with a company. Giving 1 star was being generous.

Go with a different warranty service and save yourself headaches. My first service requested to fix my HVAC ended with my HVAC being worse off and having to pay out of pocket to fix what their contractors screwed up. After speaking with AHS they transferred the work order to a different contractor who scheduled the wrong appointment time after speaking with me. As we sat around the house waiting for the second contractor to show up within their 4 hour window we noticed the contractors phone number didn't work and we couldn't get an update.

Upon contacting AHS multiple times over a 2 week period it became apparent they use the cheapest unreliable contractors in the hopes of saving money. Try asking AHS for a supervisor or someone else that can help and you will receive 1 of 2 responses, "They are all in a meeting today," "They are unavailable at the moment," followed by "I will request that they give you a call." They will not call and they will blame their phone system on dropping calls when you push to have someone actually help make sure your work order gets completed correctly. There are plenty of home warranty companies out there and I wish I had never switched to AHS. If you use AHS pray you get a competent contractor to fix your issue but it doesn't seem worth the risk when you can pay the same amount for a different warranty company.

We (and the contractor) have been waiting for refrigerator parts for over a month... and most recent call to AHS customer service yielded the following comments from the representative: "We can not tell you anything about the status of your non-delivered parts. We will only talk to the contractor". "We will not give you the phone number of our parts department". "Only the contractor can contact the parts department to get a package tracking number." "There is no supervisor currently available"

According to the contractor; no tracking number has been made available after repeated inquiries. Additionally, he has been given various delivery dates of which none have been met. Even today, AHS claimed the part had been reordered (today)... and will take another two weeks to be delivered. With the exception of China... mail never takes 8 days to get to our home. BTW, we were charged and had to pay our portion of AHS's bill immediately. We've made five calls to AHS on this matter. Overall, their customer service is not helpful, and their ability to honor the terms of our warranty... at best is questionable. I would NOT recommend this company.

I called AHS for service because my dishwasher was leaking. The tech came out and told me the unit was installed incorrectly and the unit was leaking because it was uneven. He had not even turned on the unit or accessed the bottom of the unit yet. He stated "That's not covered" (AHS is supposed to cover incorrect installations). He pointed out the height adjustment pegs needs to be adjusted and made me adjust them because he said "That's not covered."

I ask him to at least turn on the unit and test it. He turns the unit on and the unit starts to fill and leak. He notices that the unit is not draining. He has no Shop-Vac to collect the water or any tools to diagnose the issue. He states the unit must be removed to be diagnosed. He looks under the unit and sees a waterline that goes through the bottom of the unit. He then says he can't remove the unit because of the water line "That's not covered". He tells me I must contact AHS to contact a plumber to remove the water line to get access to remove the dishwasher.

I call AHS and they transfer the service call to a plumber. They say I can contact the plumber directly to set up the appointment. I call the plumber and before he even goes out to the property he tells me over the phone "That's not covered." I call back AHS and they tell me a tech cannot say what is and is not covered. I explain my worries that the plumber will ultimately give a report saying the item is not covered and that I would like a different plumber. AHS refuses and 4 days later sends the plumber out. The plumber is there for only a few minutes and calls AHS to say "That's not covered". AHS calls me and tells me "That's not covered".

First they say it's not covered because there is nothing wrong with the plumbing line and I need to refer to my contract. I 3-way call with the dishwasher repair and AHS. Desk clerk at appliance repair states that there is an access issue. I ask the appliance repair representative if it is customary for a dishwasher to be installed with a water line running through it. He says no. I ask if it was incorrectly installed and he states that the waterline was incorrectly installed. AHS responds that even though the waterline is incorrectly installed they will not remove it because the waterline is functioning properly.

AHS states that incorrectly installed items are only replaced if they fail. They state the dishwasher was incorrectly installed, the waterline was. The two items were installed at the same time, but AHS classifies the water line as a separate system. I read my full contract and the contract states that for appliances "AHS will pay up to three thousand dollars ($3,000) per Covered Item malfunction for access, diagnosis, and repair/replacement of any covered Appliance." AHS then states that the waterline that prevents access to remove the dishwasher is not the same kind of access that is covered. They cannot define what "Access" to an appliance is.

AHS then states that a different section of the contract states that AHS is not liable for "Providing or closing access to covered items or costs of construction, carpentry, or other modifications necessary to remove, relocate, or install equipment.” AHS fails to mention that this section of the contract is preceded by the statement "Except as otherwise specified in this contract, AHS is not responsible or liable for."

The appliance section of the contract specifies that access is covered, therefore the section of the contract that AHS quoted for the denial does not pertain to appliances because the appliance section [otherwise specifies] that access is covered. I was then transferred between departments for over an hour and will now have to file an arbitration claim. AHS is like many other scrupulous insurance providers that love collecting premiums, but will fight tooth and nail to pay out their contractual obligation on a claim.

I don’t like the way it’s going down. But, they’ll give me $750 off of $1,600 double oven. I’ll get the oven and pay for it, I’ll send them a receipt, and they’ll send me a check back. Also, my wife had been calling them and they always didn’t get back with her. It kind of aggravated me, but there were six different things that they completed. They fixed my washing machine that went out, and all I paid was $75. The representative did a good job, too. She was always in contact back and forth with what was working and I told her the contractor came out about five times on a dishwasher. I’d tell my friends that having American Home Shield is a great deal.

Upon telling the company that I did not want either company with such a rating coming to my home, I was told those were the companies I could choose from. This is the third time over the past year that the company has used inferior service providers. AHS takes your money without providing the services the company has promised. Warranty cancelled. I had a flood under the sink and there was a leaky hose, I guess from the faucet. American Home Shield's contractor put in a new hose and then I was okay for a couple of weeks. I had to have the whole cabinet replaced underneath and after that, the faucet started falling apart. AHS sent somebody out and an older gentleman looked at it for about two minutes and decided that I needed a new faucet that had a lifetime guarantee. My faucet was a GROHE and it was expensive, I paid $500 for it. However, he didn’t bother to do anything and he couldn't get the screw out to get into the faucet. He just said, "Oh, you need a new faucet."

So, I dealt with GROHE which took two weeks to get an answer. I called and text them again and again and finally, they said it was not broken. I sent some pictures and what the technician said and GROHE said, "All they need to do is drill it out." After GROHE gave me that answer, I was really angry. I called AHS again and said, "This is what GROHE said. Send me somebody that knows what they’re doing or isn't lazy." Whoever came out this last time on the faucet was wonderful. He took the time to do it right and drilled it out and it's fine now.

Furthermore, before Thanksgiving, my dishwasher quit working. I called AHS and they said, "Oh, I know what it is. Vikings are known for that." I said, "Okay." And then they let me know that they had to order a part and that it would arrive a few days or a week later. We thought the part was ordered and then, I went three weeks without my dishwasher because they screwed up. They thought they had ordered it but they didn’t so I was washing dishes in the bathroom for a total of three weeks. Then the contractor came out and said, "Oops, this isn't the part." That was two weeks and then it was another week because they figured out that it wasn’t the same problem and they had to order another part. I just called yesterday and it's not working again. But I'm not paying for it because this is ridiculous.

I had to wait three weeks for the dishwasher and the worst part of the whole thing is how long I have to wait to actually talk to somebody on the phone. Every time I call, it's a half an hour wait, which is ridiculous. And it's costing them money because it's an 800 number. They need to do something about that call center. It's very aggravating to have to wait half an hour on hold. I'd like to charge them for my time.

Overall, AHS has been good about fixing whatever once we get the right person and the right order. And some of the guys that came out were very nice. But I'm debating whether I want this service or not. It's the first time I've ever done the home warranty. They should send people that know what they are doing with some of these high-end appliances.

The unit is working wonderfully now. So even if things aren’t going exactly the way that you'd like them to on a claim, they have a process for working through it to try and make sure that the initial person gave a correct assessment.

For people who don’t have significant funds set aside to do repairs, having a home warranty would help them offset those costs. I would encourage them to research their options. I preferred a supervisor but that didn't happen. The dispenser kept freezing every two to four months and if it was over three months then I'd have to pay for the service cost fee. So I had asked them to suspend the service cost fee. Instead of doing the Band-Aid fix that they had been doing, find the final fix.

There were also some issues with the customer service rep at AHS. He was being argumentative and not really helpful. That person can't make certain decisions or just keep wanting to pass me back on to the technician. Also, they were supposed to contact me back which they did not. The service technician that came out ended up having this additional little heater part that went in and hopefully it has finally fixed the problem. The contractor was wonderful. I will report to a friend that it covers really well and it’s worth the monthly charge that I pay.

My experience with American Home Shield was good, aside from the plumber that they sent us from On Time Plumbing who was not very good at all. He had to relieve a clog in the main line coming from the upstairs and when he did that, the water sprayed all over my room downstairs. Then he said that it was not his job to clean it up. There's a plug downstairs in the main line coming from upstairs and apparently, somebody in the past before we bought the house epoxied that shut. So according to him, their policy is that since somebody epoxied that shut, they’re not liable for any mess or damage that may happen to my house while they’re fixing my stuff. What kind of policy is that? If you come here to fix it, then you’ll find a way to fix it without me having to worry about some liability that you don’t wanna cover in your insurance.

I’m an electrician and I've been doing this for 20 years so I know exactly how a service call is supposed to go. You’re supposed to bring your own tools and fulfill the job on your own to the customer’s satisfaction. But he didn’t have tarps or his own Shop-Vac either. My wife let him use my Shop-Vac and it just seemed like he was very unprepared. Plus he was asking my wife to help him do his job and my wife was too nice. “Can you please go get me some soap and water?” That was the kind of crap that he was saying. That was not good at all.

Also, the only reason he went and got stuff to clean the mess was because I made it very clear that I was unhappy. Then he turned around and said, “We get a text message that we got a service call.” Then he went, “If you can leave positive remarks on the text message that would help me out a lot.” Why would I leave anything positive about that? I got to pay $75 for the dude to come out and we did half the job for him.

I was not pleased with that experience and if American Home Shield sends me that plumber, I’ll turn him around. I will not suggest On Time Plumbing to anybody either. I even told a couple of my buddies at work about it. They’re electricians too and they found it backwards. That aside, American Home Shield has been very helpful and responsive to us. This is our first house and this was our first claim. And I would highly suggest American Home Shield when buying a home, to have an extended warranty especially on a used home.

I filed three claims with AHS separately for my mother and we had three different people come out and fix them. I called American Home Shield. Their reps were great. The one complaint that I have was it would take 30 to 40 minutes before anyone answered the phone. They answer and they say, "Okay, we've got your phone call. Please hold." So they did recognize that I was on the phone but it did take that long and it was very annoying. It would never work for my mother if she was going to do it by herself.

My sister was the one who recommended the American Home Shield to me and to my mother. My sister used it and she said that the best thing to do is to go online. That's the way they scheduled how they do the work that you need. But I don’t use the computer very well because of a brain injury and my mother certainly doesn’t. She's 91.

But everything's worked completely and my mother was very happy. My sister said that our mother's house is going to be 18 years old so she is going to need the policy. It turned out that she did need it and that's how my sister convinced her to do the business. The guys who came out were so polite to me and to my mother. They were quick. They were just your perfect employee. They tried to explain to my mother what was wrong and so if it ever went wrong again, maybe she could fix it herself. They were just really super people. They just need to get the wait time improved because not everybody in the world has a computer and is able to use it.

One of the claims was for our bathrooms, the water was not clearing. The contractor came and fixed that. Another claim was for the refrigerator and sink plus the ice was not falling correctly so I had to buy ice every week. Another contractor came out and fixed that. And then the light behind where the dishes are done, that was not showing and so the contractor came out and fixed the light. All contractors did an excellent job. They were all very professional and very nice. I loved them. Everything was great.

And so, we did take care of those and they were $100 for each person that came out. One person was here for only 15 minutes because it was something stupid that I should have been able to figure out. But the other two I couldn't but they showed me and they were here for 45 minutes so it wasn’t a huge thing but it still cost $100 each but I'm not complaining at all. I felt that was a very affordable and it was a great deal. But my mother does not want to continue with the business. She doesn’t think that she needs to spend $100 a month just in case something happens and my sister and I have tried to talk to her. However, there's no convincing her so we canceled the business.

When I had an electrical problem, I went online and logged in with my sign in and then indicated to American Home Shield what the problem was. The faceplate was smoking. I later received a phone call from the electrical company and they assigned a person and a time. The electrician then came as scheduled and my wife was there to receive him. When I got there, he was just finishing up. He did a good job and was able to quickly fix it. It is now functioning as it should.

Other than that, the upstairs toilet was flooding over whenever it was used. I scheduled some plumbers to come out. The first time, they did a no call-no show, so I called them up and asked what happened. They scheduled for the next day to come back in. They showed up and somewhat fixed it, left, and then it overflowed again the following day. So I called them out to schedule a follow-up visit. For the follow-up visit, again no call-no show. I called them back to reschedule for the next day. They showed up and then finally it was resolved. That one was not so good.

My husband and I are on a limited income since we're on social security, and the amount that we pay a month to AHS doesn't impact us in any way because what they've saved us through the years has been overwhelming. Filing a claim with them is also easy; I just normally go online. When I filed a claim for the dishwasher that had the soap dispenser that wouldn't open, they got someone out within a day. The contractor who came explained everything and told me he was going to order the parts, but it would take so many days to get it. I then had to explain that to my husband that it's a business stage. But, the issue was resolved and everything's working now. I've recommended American Home Shield to somebody last year.

I called and told AHS we had a plumbing leak. We've had three different contractors come out for the same issue. The first one was horrible, but the second two were both good. The first one, they came in and looked at it and it didn't seem like they wanted to do anything with it or the job. Then they called and we got one part of the repair approved and they never called back to schedule and do the work. And another part was disapproved and we had to have another contractor come out for a second opinion. He fixed it right on the spot without any problems and it was 100% approved. However, we're still waiting for the first repair that was approved to be done. It has taken a couple of weeks. It is crazy when you're out of water for a couple of days. We're supposed to hear the day after tomorrow what AHS is going to do. The third contractor that came out said they thought it would all be approved but they have to wait and get through from AHS.

It seems like every time I call American Home Shield, it's a fight to get them to do what they're supposed to do. Although, this last time when we were out of water, they sent people out here quickly. However, in July, we were without an air conditioner for 10 days. It was the hottest summer on record where our air conditioner went out. I had a three-month-old and a 73-year-old in the house and AHS wouldn't do anything. We had to report that to the Texas State Attorney General's office just to get the work done. We filed against AHS for disreputable trade practice.

I had a claim for the garbage disposal and the gentleman from Third Generation Plumbing & Mechanical came in but the visit took two minutes. He didn't diagnose the problem. He just said something was stuck in there. He didn't even look and I was very upset. American Home Shield said we needed a second opinion but this has happened to me before with American Home Shield and the people they use.

With a lot of the techs, all they want to do is collect the service call fee. That's why they come in but they just check the issue and say something needs to be replaced. Then they go in, do the report and make it seem like it's the consumer's issue because they don't want to replace the part. So I went on my own and hired my own contractor. They said the garbage disposal was no good and I paid $300 out of my pocket to replace it. I called to see if American Home Shield would be able to reimburse me but they said no. So I'm upset with that situation. Plus when you call them, you're on hold for 30 minutes. Then you talk to the rep and the rep has no customer service background. It's just cutthroat, "Here it is. No, we're not fixing it." It's crazy. It's unbelievable. You pay $500 a year for the warranty and when you need them, it's cutthroat black and white. If that's how it's going to be, there's no point in having a warranty.

And then I called it in and made sure I submitted everything, but I didn't hear back from anyone. But they eventually put it through. The contractors that came out were great. The part that they had wasn’t the exact one but they ordered it, came back a few days later and installed it. Everything is working fine and there has been no issue after that. Because of the repairman’s great performance, I renewed my policy again and it's well worth to have. I was very satisfied with my experience with AHS and I would recommend it. If friends have issues and they need a good company to have insurance, they need to get covered by American Home Shield. It's like a peace of mind to have. There was a leak in the tub through the faucet. I had the first plumber come out but he couldn’t fix it. So he called American Home Shield and gave my claim to another plumber. That plumber came out and had to order a cartridge. I had to wait about three days which wasn’t a big deal because I had to order it. But then, they found out that the cartridge wasn’t an issue. That they had to go inside the wall to put in a new handle. American Home Shield called and told me that they can take care of the hardware and the technician but they couldn’t take care of the modification which I already knew because it says in the contract.

So, it was going to be $325 and I didn’t know if I had it at the time. The representative from AHS said that I could search for a new technician if I wanted to. I realized then that these guys were honest with me. In fact, I didn’t look for them. American Home Shield found them for me. Eventually, we came up with the money and they fixed the issue. They were really quick.

I then called American Home Shield because the plumber said that AHS has their own people that can come in and patch up the sheetrock. When I called them, the representative said they cover it too and proceeded to call the technicians. So she called the technicians and they got the measurement. The AHS representative then made another call to tell me that they made an appointment with another person in my area. That person gave me a call back within that day to set up an appointment to fix the sheetrock for me. Other than the issue with their wait times - I called them three times, American Home Shield is wonderful and I was happy. Besides, they have an option to go online to do your own claim.

I often called in my claims with American Home Shield. We have been having issues with our refrigerator and microwave back and forth since May, and I'm still to place the order for a replacement microwave through them. AA Dependable was the most recent contractor that we used that has fixed the problem and they have been good. The refrigerator has been working very well since then. I've dealt with them before this particular issue, but the one that they had before that, they were not good communication-wise and responsiveness-wise. And I finally told AHS, "I have had enough of that particular company. Can you please send for another company? I've been going through this since before the summer and it is taking way too long to get this resolved."

And it took about two or three weeks to get it resolved with AA Dependable. We took that long because it wasn't AHS' fault. I messaged them through Twitter. We now have two houses. For as long as I've owned that house, which is since back in 2002, we have had American Home Shield as our company. And for now, to be having to go through this back and forth and the haggling just to get an issue resolved, I have an issue with that. It was summer and the company was not forthcoming with whatever was going on. For example, we called them one day and they said, "Okay. We have a technician coming. The technician said he'd come in to fix the microwave." He got to the house, and then said "Oh, no. It's the refrigerator. But I don't have the parts for the refrigerator. I have to come back."

By that time, I've lost it. I said, "This is unacceptable. You guys are switching appointments without even consulting us until it's too late. You say you're coming, you don't come. When you come, you come to say to fix one thing, and you're fixing the other." But since we have the new company, it's been fine. And after that, we got the dryer fixed and it was done within a week. So my experiences have been pretty good overall, but that particular issue with our refrigerator was like a sore thumb. That just stuck out.

Our ice machine in our refrigerator wasn’t working properly and it took a week from our first call to American Home Shield until they repaired it. The technician was here this morning and he fixed the ice machine, but soon after he left, another problem developed in the water line. We have water until just about two hours ago and then it quit. He didn’t say that we have a part that he ordered for the water, but they’ll be back.

We’ve been very pleased with all the repairs that have been made. But the man who delivered our dryer last year kind of insinuated that we owed them money and I said we didn't. It was an American Home Shield claim and we paid American Home Shield, so that was little unnerving. But other than that, we haven’t had any problems with the contractors that have been sent out.

We've been with American Home Shield for about three years now and we've been very happy with them. We keep having problems but I wouldn’t think of changing because we have a good company. We have been pleased with the service that we’ve gotten. One friend, in particular, had American Home Shield for a while and she canceled because she thought she was paying too much a month. So, I tried to explain to her that American Home Shield is like an insurance policy. And it’s a good feeling to know that if something goes wrong, we pick up the phone and make a call and an issue is repaired within a week. I have recommended American Home Shield to several friends and I will again if somebody asked me about it.

AHS was precise, courteous and acted fast. I had a plumber the next day. The contractor that was sent out was nice and friendly. Luckily, he had in his truck what he needed. So it was good. Everything has been fine since the repair and there are no leaks.

I've shared the information with a lot of different people that I felt needed American Home Shield as well, telling them it was easier because we’ll never know when something's going to go wrong, and that things always go wrong at the wrong time. But I knew that the guy wouldn't because they were closed at the time that I made the claim, so it didn't bother me. Also, he came out the first day that he was there and it was fine. My dryer still doesn't work quite right but I don't think it has anything to do with his repair. I think it's just because it's starting to get older and that's what happens with older machines. And it has been running fine. We had to use AHS for our refrigerator, too, and they are great and super nice. The guy was just a young kid but he was very knowledgeable and he went way above and beyond.

We had a claim for our water heater as well and for that, we had never used AHS before. They told us that they couldn't find someone in our area and we had to find somebody. I was really irritated by that because the reason we do this is that we don't have a $1,000 upfront to put on a water heater but they wanted us to pay it upfront and then they would reimburse us. After I explained that to the lady, she was able to find somebody. But I kind of had to fight for it which was not really what I was expecting. But since then, we haven't had an issue. Even though I've had the frustrating experience that one time, overall, I've had good experiences with them. I always tell everybody about American Home Shield, especially because we live in an area where there are tons of old homes where you need to have them. For some reason, the plumbers opened so many different holes and took down the cabinet in the laundry room. They fixed the leak and after two weeks, the painter came. He patched the drywall inside of the laundry room and told us that only the laundry room was covered and the holes in the garage were not. I think the plumber didn't report all the holes and only reported the holes in the laundry room. We called AHS again and luckily, they covered it.

The painter came three days after. He patched the hole and put on the primer, but not the paint. Last Saturday, my husband put the paint over it. Also, the cabinet was not reinstalled. It's still in the garage because my husband cannot install the cabinet by himself. We're not satisfied with AHS at this moment. They needed to take care of the plumbing issue really quickly because we cannot use water and the garage was wet. However, they always take so long. In addition, when the plumber or painter came, they always said, "This is not covered. They do not cover that." So we didn't have a good experience.

A couple of weeks ago the garage door opener went out in the morning so I called and did the claim and within 30 minutes the garage door opener company, Flash Garage Door, called me and set the appointment up for later that day. The tech who came was very professional. He had been out here a few weeks before that. He was here whenever the problem happened. He said that I needed a new opener. This was on a Friday and he had set up to come back. He came back on Tuesday and replaced the opener. I was very satisfied with the service.

I had a sewer stoppage and I called American Home Shield and it was going to be 24 business hours before they would even call me back so I just had to cancel it. That’s the only thing I don’t like about the plumbing thing. They should have some sort of emergency with the plumbing because I couldn’t go 24 business hours. With a dishwasher or even the air, you can make do, but you cannot make do if your plumbing is stopped up especially over a weekend. I've called somebody else myself and paid for it because I didn’t feel like I had an option. But the AHS reps have always been courteous and helpful. I would recommend AHS. I was talking to a friend yesterday and I told her that I've had it ever since we bought our house which is almost four years and I've renewed it every year because I like having it and I've had really good service.

The tech came out and he was here less than a minute and he told me what the issue was. He said I had a piece of paper in the fan which was making the noise. He took it out and it was done. They told us that we can go to the web, but we like to talk to a live person. They don't have enough people to handle the call because an hour and a half is usually the norm that we just sit. They play great music, but I do not want to listen to that for an hour. That is not acceptable and they need to hire more people. The contractors have all been good so far. He came very quickly, did the job and was professional. I heard the washing machine come on and very quickly, the spin cycle. He replaced the circuit board or the switch and he said that he brought that with him, so he came prepared. He fixed it on the first shot and it works fine now.

I have been a loyal customer of American Home Shield for a number of years. Several weeks ago I was doing some home remodeling, re-tiling a bathroom floor, and moved the toilet out-of-the-way. Afterwards I noticed the toilet flange had rusted and deteriorated and it had to be replaced. Since I have coverage I contacted American Home Shield to have a plumber come in for repairs. The plumber was dispatched, and in a matter of three minutes said he could not do repairs because the sub floor needed to be repaired first. He immediately left.

I contacted another plumber for a second opinion on the problem. He informed me of a part that I could purchase at the hardware store that would resolve the issue. I purchased the part, a flange extension, and after the tile work was finished I put the flange extension in and reinstalled the toilet myself. I contacted American Home Shield to ask them if they would consider reimbursing me the $75 service call fee since it was a local contractor and he literally was there for three minutes and stated he could not do the repair. I understand sometimes the customer service representative does not have authorization for refunds.

I asked to speak with a customer service supervisor and was denied numerous times. I was told that since I moved the toilet myself I broke the toilet and negated the warranty. I tried explaining several times the toilet was okay and it was the flange on the pipe (plumbing that was covered) that was the culprit and not the toilet. It seems to me that if there is a complaint from a customer and it cannot be resolved by the usual methods then speaking with the customer service supervisor would be warranted.

The representative made it clear that the supervisor did not wish to speak with me. I originally wanted to leave a review on the American Home Shield website after I was unable to speak with the supervisor and there was no contact information to email anyone or leave a number to have somebody contact me. Therefore I am placing this on the Consumer Affairs site to let others know of the problems and difficulties I have encountered with this company.

We made a claim with American Home Shield for the AC. My father read the instructions and there were three fuse boxes. He didn’t know that there were three. He checked two of them and the third one just needed to be reset. A technician came out, and if I or my father had known that there was a third box, we wouldn't have called them. It would have saved me $70. I was there when my father called on the initial claim and it went all right, but he's ready to cancel his service. AHS only pays for $10 worth of Freon and that really upset him. If Freon went up, we're still paying the insurance. He said the insurance ought to cover the cost of the Freon and $10 of Freon is less than a pound.

On the other hand, the technician was fine. He told me it was $100 a pound and that AHS would only cover $10. I'm glad I didn’t need any Freon. However, I'm dissatisfied with AHS right now because my air conditioner is as old as this house and so I'm going to have some problems with it sooner or later. I took the insurance years ago because of the air conditioner. But still, we've had icemaker problems too and the experiences for those claims were great. When I first got AHS, they didn’t cover icemakers. But four years later, icemakers began to get covered, and that's when mine went out.

I've had the American Home Shield warranty on more than one home that I've had and I always feel like they pull a bait and switch. I had a hot water tank in my last home and it failed. It was a catastrophic failure. It says in their warranty that they'll replace it with a similar type of tank but they did not honor that because the size was a little bit bigger. It wasn’t the standard size which was a 50-gallon tank and which for the size of the home, wasn’t sufficient. It needed to be 65 or 75. That was also the working condition given by the plumber that American Home Shield contracted out. But AHS said, “No, we're not going to do that. You can do a 50-gallon tank and just turn up the temperature above 130 degrees Fahrenheit."

Anybody who's ever read anything about a hot heater tank knows that it's never supposed to go above 120 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not safe especially for someone like myself who have young children in the home because if you jack up the heat on it, that should be sufficient for your home. The plumber was honest with me and told me that what American Home Shield was doing was unsafe, unethical, and frankly, illegal and he strongly recommended to them not to do that, but that was all they were going to honor. I appreciated his honesty in dealing with me but they still wouldn’t budge. They gave me a partial credit and only paid a portion of it.

Also, I had a specialized refrigerator in my last home because my home was a custom-home and they were like, “We can't find anybody to come out to service your refrigerator. You can find somebody and then we'll authorize it." They put the onus on me to find somebody to come out and service it. They wouldn’t even bother to try and find somebody. I lived in a place called Bellingham, Washington and the closest person I could find was near Seattle which was an hour and a half away.

Then, I had some issues on the faucets and they only covered a partial credit for it even though they said they were going to cover it. I've also had two plumbing issues in this house that I live in now because it's an older home and that’s part of the reason why I continue to maintain my warranty with them even though I don’t like them. There was an issue with the toilet leaking and they came out and the one guy took apart one of my toilets and he left without fixing it. So, it was leaking but whatever he had done to it to not put it back together, it made it inoperable until he came back the next day. Their fixes are kind of iffy depending on who they have. The people seemed pleasant enough that they bring out but I can't speak to their competency.

I had some issues with a plumber here in my existing home who came out and fixed some stuff recently. It worked the second he left, but then when I did it the next time, it wasn’t working. And I spent 55 minutes on hold trying to get a hold of somebody. They hung up on me and then, I called back and at the 52-minute mark, again, they hung up on me.

In an email that I got from American Home Shield, it said, “If you have issues with the work that we just provided, contact the company directly." I called the company that came out directly and they were like, “No, I'm sorry. You have to speak to them directly.” They were able to provide me with a back number to call. I called on a Monday for service and American Home Shield said, “The soonest we can get somebody out to your house is Friday.” I was expecting not to have a kitchen sink to be able to use from Tuesday until Friday and they don’t see that as an issue at all.

I called back this company directly and I said, “They told me that you can't come out ‘til Friday. I don’t understand since you were able to come out within 24 hours to fix the problem the first time.” And they said, “No. American Home Shield is incorrect. They just scheduled it for you for Friday, they didn’t contact us directly, they just put it on their calendar and they didn’t try and get it scheduled immediately and we'll be out there tomorrow.” The company was out here Tuesday which was great. I thought, “Fantastic. Maybe they’ve changed because I've moved state."

Any time you have to try and contact them over the phone, you spend at least an hour on hold trying to get somebody on the phone. It's a huge time-waster. I honestly believe that they do that so people will give up and not call them because it has always happened to me whenever I have to call them. I absolutely despise AHS because they take your money and even if it's in writing, they don’t honor it. Pretty much every experience I've ever had with them has been a major headache.

I had some issues with the water flow. I submitted a claim online and it seemed to work fine. The timeframe for American Home Shield to get back with me was good. I was with one of the other main competitors of American Home Shield for years and I had something that happened where I had to go out of the network because I had a garage door that literally would not close and it was stuck half-open. I was able to get a service three days earlier than they could get me one here locally. They just refused to pay the claim so I was done with them.

With American Home Shield, they sent a plumber out and he did a fine job. He checked all the various things that I had for what turned out to be a water heater problem. A PVC pipe inside the heater had actually disintegrated to the point where they were clogging up the lines and he discovered that and got it fixed. It was a surprise to me. I didn’t realize that that was a contributing issue. He was excellent. After the repair, everything was like it should be. American Home Shield is not the cheapest in town but they purport to do what I needed to be done.

Our Jenn-Air trash compactor locked up and quit running. When the tech that AHS sent came out, he ordered a part and put it on. Then the trash compactor started clicking when it was going up and down. We called back and a different guy came out. He took it apart more and put some grease on it. But he never eliminated the click. He warned us that American Home Shield usually doesn’t cover noises and told me when he left here that he was going to turn in parts to replace certain things on there. He thought it would eliminate the clicking and that it’d run smoother. It was vibrating and looked like an old washing machine. However, he never got back with me on that.

The first couple of days, it was just a slight click. About a week into it, it got louder. Then finally, it broke again and we could hear something breaking in there. We called AHS and they sent the tech out again. He was going to check prices and replace a certain thing in there. He was going to get it authorized to order it and replace it if he could. Then he got it put back together and it is working now, but it's still clicking. When he left, he said he was going to check with his buddy to see if he knows why it’s still doing what it’s doing. The tech has been here for other products and he has been fine. We just have a little bit of trouble now and I don’t think he’s as knowledgeable about a trash compactor as he needs to be. There are not many of them out here anymore.

All in all, my claim for the trash compactor has not been 100% resolved and I don't want to sneak out until this thing is fixed right. But this is the only thing I can remember that AHS hasn’t solved on the first service since they were able to get 99% of the stuff in my house fixed. I'd tell friends that if they didn’t have a lot of cash on hand, AHS would be good. We’re retired and we can do it. It’s easier and convenient for us to pay the $100 and get the issue solved.

The heater would not start. I called American Home Shield to submit the claim and I told the rep the problem I was having with the heating. She said the service was going to call me to make an appointment. The claims reps were very good and really helpful. The contractor called to make an appointment and they were here on time. The tech had to change the starter and he fixed the heater, and I was a very happy camper. He did an excellent job and the heater’s working perfectly right now. My experience with that heating claim was really great.

But I have a little complaint with the previous service that I had. I ended up with no electricity in a part of my house, so I called the service and the guy came, checked, and he fixed the issue in one of the outlets on the wall. He left a mess in there but I said that I'd clean it up myself. But when I went to bed, I noticed that the ceiling fan in my bedroom was turned on and I could not turn it off. So, I called the company and they said that they were going to send the service guy back to fix it. He came two days after. It was winter and it was really cold in December. I told him that he left me for two days with the ceiling fan going on on top of my bed and I had to put three blankets on my bed because it was freezing.

The service guy said that the fan wasn't working and had to be changed. My fan cost $500 and it wasn’t a cheap fan. I've been living in the house for two years and that fan never had a problem. I told him that the problem was with the controller that has a little box inside. I had a problem with another fan and all the techs did to repair it was to change the little box inside. He didn't like that and what he did was cut the cable. He only had to to change the box or install it the right way.

When the service guy left the ceiling fan going on, it might have busted, and now the fan is not working and it's only the light that’s working. Although the fan didn't need to be fixed right away during winter, when summer comes I’ll be needing it because it's on top of my bed. I mainly use the fan because it's cheaper and I don't need that much air conditioning in my house. I'm going to have to call the service to come and fix the fan, and I'm going to have to pay another $75. But I don't want that service guy in here because he is not clean. He should not get upset because I told him that I didn't want to change the fan, which was working, and he only had to change the box. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with American Home Shield. I recommended them to a friend a few years ago and he's using them too.

Normally when filing the claims, the tenants will send an email to me, then they will file the claim and I'll reimburse them the $75. So far, my experience with American Home Shield works well and I have not received any complaints from the tenants.

The first time was when he looked at it and the second time was when he fixed it. He was great. He told me what was wrong with the washer and dryer and he did everything he was supposed to do. So far, everything has been taken care of. It was a great service.

My washing machine was making an incredibly loud noise in the spin cycle. I submitted a claim online and the website was easy to navigate. When I've called in, their reps were very good as well. The contractor came to look at the washing machine and determined that they would have to replace some big parts in there so they took the washer with them and said it would be ready in a week. They were about to bring it back when they discovered the drum was actually cracked also so they said they needed another four or five days to get that done. They fixed it all, brought it back and reinstalled it. They have worked clean and been on time. The home warranty with American Home Shield is a good value and a good thing to do.

The contractor they sent out was a nice guy. His name was Jason and he's very knowledgeable on the issue at hand. He came out the first time to see what the issue was, and then he came in a couple of days after for a machine part that he needed in order to resolve the blockage. It was all quick and he made us very comfortable with the whole thing. The issue has been resolved and we haven't had any issues so far. It's been a good experience through the times we've needed American Home Shield.

I called American Home Shield to check out something that occurred when Priority One, the company that does the heat pump check twice a year, found two capacitors low in the two-heat pump. I filed the claim last week and I'm waiting for the problem to be taken care of. The technician that took care of checking out the heat pump wrote up a detailed report of what was needed. And I don’t know whether he was going to submit that to American Home Shield but I told American Home Shield what was on the sheet. American Home Shield referred me to Priority One and they were supposed to call me but they haven't yet.

I've had the same technician pretty much all the time from Priority One and that has helped because that particular technician got to know my house and my units a little bit better. So far so good with Priority One. With American Home Shield, I like that they're usually responsive. This past time was an exception though. Since I have heat and so forth, it's apparently not an emergency. Also, sometimes I can call them if I'm not sure whether something is covered on my contract. If it's not, then I can do something else or use something else. Overall, they've sent out good technicians and within a reasonable period of time. I feel good that I can count on them not giving me a tough time or having trouble getting them there and following through.

I see mixed reviews online but for us, we've never had an issue with American Home Shield. We've enjoyed our time with them. We're considering renewing with them but the only thing is the annual price. We wish it was cheaper for what we're getting. And then, the renewal rate at this point is also much higher than what we originally signed up for. We were unfortunate that we needed to use it on our first year.

My water had a rough color. I submitted a claim with American Home Shield for that plumbing issue to get a technician to come out and that was very easy. I just logged on the computer and requested assistance, and then someone called me to set a service up. The reps that I have talked with have been very nice. Likewise, it felt very nice when the contractor came out. He was friendly and my dog didn't bother him. The technician said that I needed a new water heater.

But amazingly enough, even though I have this coverage, I still would have to come out of pocket for about $800 for that. I've been waiting for a phone call from American Home Shield because I said I couldn't afford to pay the $800 and they said that I could get the money that they would've paid the contractor to see if I could do this more cheaply, but they never called me back with that information. If it was clear that American Home Shield's warranty doesn't really cover much, people wouldn't pay for it.

We had a problem with our washer in January and before the AHS contractor came to fix that, a belt broke on the dryer. So the contractor came and they put a temporary belt on and they ordered some parts for the washer. They came back and they were supposed to put the final or the actual original belt on to the dryer and rebuild the transmission on the washer. However, we found out that they never replaced the belt because it broke again.

Also, they never repaired the spin cycle of the washer because it wasn’t taking enough water out. We had to take some of our clothes to my sister-in-law’s to wash or dry until they redid the repairs. They came back and corrected all these several weeks ago. They have gotten the correct belt for the dryer ordered and they rebuilt whatever part of the washer was supposed to be done originally. They did it correctly and everything has been okay since then. The communications to American Home Shield and to the local company that they worked with were all good. We’re happy with everything, so far.

A few months ago, I started noticing the basement being damp in areas where I could see black mold build up on pieces of wood. The shower in there is leaking, too. I called American Home Shield, I told them the problem, and they said that they’d send somebody out. Then a plumbing company called and I explained the problem to them. They said that it sounded like it may be a foundation issue and that they didn’t handle that. He said he'd speak to his supervisor and call me back but nobody called me back. So I called AHS again, explained the exact same thing, and they sent another plumber out.

I explained the same things with the next company and their man was here for 30 seconds. He said that they didn’t cover those sort of issues and I got charged $75 anyway. But I clearly explained to AHS exactly what the issue was and for them to send out a company that had nothing to do with that particular issue and still charge me was absolutely lunatic. It was a complete waste of my $75. So, my basement is still leaking and I still can’t use my basement shower. I have seven people in my home sharing one bathroom shower upstairs and if I go to use my basement shower, water leaks into my laundry area. Then when it rains, half the basement completely gets soaked. It’s probably a foundation issue which happened three times already and AHS doesn’t cover that.

I also had a claim for my heater when it wasn’t working. That was covered and the tech they sent out said that they could get it temporarily working but that there was a crack in the heat exchange. They said that it would take two weeks to order the part then they took months to respond and I had to call back. But when the contractor came back out, he told me that there was nothing wrong with the heater and I was good to go. So my experience with AHS has been an awful. Majority of the issues that are going to go along with a new home are probably not going to be covered and it’s kind of a roll of a dice if it’s covered or not.

My washing machine was not working. I spoke with an American Home Shield representative over the phone and he was very nice. He sent somebody to fix it and they could not fix it in the long run. So, AHS gave me the money for it and I purchased one from Home Depot which was a little more expensive. Then, I sent them the paperwork and the check came in the mail. I'm still paying the extra but it's okay. I picked a better a machine. Also, it took a while but that was partly my fault because I come in and out of town and I've been traveling a lot lately. But other than that, AHS took care of it and I was very thankful for their work.

I have had AHS for about a year and I bought it for another property of mine as well. I've had a very good experience with them. They do what they say they're going to do. I've dealt with other companies that I've really had a horrible experience with. Some of these other companies say they're going to do stuff but there's always some darn issue with whatever it is. I appreciate the fact that AHS is not making excuses and sending somebody 17 times.

There is a time delay though where, unlike other companies, when you call to say there's an issue, AHS has to come to look at it. Then, they have to see if they could possibly order a part, then they have to call to see if it's okay. But I had a really good result this time. They showed up, they called and did it right all the time. Also, sometimes the contractors have been a little later to come than they said but it has been fine. They called before they came which I appreciate. I like having that 30-minute window because then I can rush home and run errands close by.

I tried to talk my mom into getting AHS. My mom has one more year with another company and after she's done with them, she's going to go with AHS. I'm retired now and AHS is a huge thing when something happens. I've also recommended this company to a few different people. AHS is the home warranty company that actually gets the job done and doesn't lie that it will take some time. But if you have the time and you can take off from work, it's worth it to have this company.

I have been with American Home Shield for two years and for the most part, everything has been going well except for a couple of things. They proposed a new price for my second year and it was very much higher than what the previous year was. So I negotiated a different rate and it took forever for them to put it in their system because I kept getting these I’ve not paid in full responses back from American Home Shield. When I call them, they tell me that it’s paid in full. Then I would get another call months later saying that I’m not paid in full. I had to spend a lot of time on the phone which was very frustrating. It took about five calls over about five months to get that cleared up.

I got the first invoice then everything else was just over the phone. I told them to give me an invoice so we have a paper trail of what they were charging and what I’m paying for. But they said that they're not going to send me another invoice. So it was a little on the sly and I was just taking their word for it. I don’t know if what I’m paying for will show up and be paid in full. It would have been much better if they would have just followed up with a couple of paperwork.

Also, my water heater needed replacement and the repair folks that American Home Shield sent on site looked for ways to add to their bill. I had two of my water heaters replaced, one on one month then the other one went out about a month later. The last time, they said that there were some rust around the valve and that they were recommending that the valve be replaced. I looked at the valve and I did not see any rust around it. But I had them replace it because my feeling was that American Home Shield would somehow try to get out of making future repairs if that wasn’t repaired. It looked like a valve that was about 10 years old. I felt like they were just trying to upsell and they got me because they were there under the warranty.

Every time I called for American Home Shield's services it was right on. All the technicians that have come to my house have been responsible. They had done their job. Plus they had done the house clean depending what they did. It's a very good service. Recently I called the 1-800 number to submit my claim for my garbage disposal. AHS has a voicemail that takes all the information in. Then when you call there's an email to certify my appointment. The technician AHS sent, Michael, came here and replaced one of the switches that I have that connects to the garbage disposal. He was early but he waited until 8:00 anyways to do his job. He was very efficient. I'm the kind of person that like to see what they do. I was asking him questions about the job that he was performing and he was very willing to explain to me what I was looking at and what he was doing. He was perfect.

You need to have the home warranty because appliances go bad and when they go bad, you don’t have to worry about it if you have it. Most of my friends don’t have the program that I have. They have been changing their appliances. I told them one of my experiences that I have with my microwave that has an oven. The handle from the microwave came off so I called American Home Shield. The technician came over and he said, “We cannot repair this one. We're just going to give you a new microwave.” It didn’t cost me a penny and that microwave was about 16 years old. AHS has been servicing my refrigerator and my air conditioner. If I'm living here 20 years those appliances are going to go bad at some point. Like with my washer and dryer, when I have a problem, I call them and they come out and fix it. They’ve been working for me 20 years and I still have my washer and dryer. American Home Shield fixed it all.

You just try and try and all you get are recordings.

Nevertheless, this last group that worked on the furnace was outstanding and I would recommend them to anybody. They were very professional, outstanding and prompt. Moreover, they were willing to teach me about the system and took all the time they needed. John, the owner, would call when he was leaving and say that he'd be here in 15 minutes. I haven't had that kind of customer service from a vendor in a long time. Usually, contractors give a four-hour window but not them. If they said they were going to be there at 8:00, they'd be there. A lot of people work and if they take off work for a four-hour window, then the contractor doesn't show up, it’s difficult. I’ve had to use AHS three different times. It appeared to be coming from my grand bedroom, and so I had them change out the cartridge of the Moen faucet, thinking that would fix it. However, I had to call them back out because it was leaking again. It was leaking in the area where my washer and tub were and they had to fix that. They cut in from the ceiling again but AHS didn’t cover the work they had to do, so I had to pay the contractor $250 to go up in the ceiling and fix that leak. Then another company had to come out and close it up.

It was my first time using American Home Shield's service and I ended up paying $350 to get the leak fixed, which was a bit expensive. It was also a lot of wasted time. When you have somebody cut a hole open and they don’t come back out and fix it, and you have to wait until somebody else makes an appointment to come out, there are liability issues. I'm sure there's a reasoning why they do that, but it's not good for the customer. Also, I told American Home Shield to tell the other company that there were two holes, but they didn't. He's a very personable guy and knew what he was doing. He said that the issue just didn't make sense and that the refrigerator shouldn’t do that. He had to call Samsung and get a new catalog. He put a new thing in and it still dripped. When we came in during the morning, there was water all over the floor. The guy said he had the manual for the 16 model and ours was a 17, so they didn’t match up.

The washing machine made so much noise that even the neighbors across the street could hear it. The contractors said that it was the part on the bottom that was causing it to make so much noise. They had some rubberized screws and it went from 100 loud noise to 50 and it has been better than it was. But we still don't like it. It's 25 years old and it just rolled over and died, but they couldn’t get the parts to fix it. They really should have replaced it with something a little higher, a mid-grade washer instead of the bottom grade one. But overall, we're very satisfied with American Home Shield.

A week went by, we heard nothing. Called AHS and one person told us they ordered the parts but had no idea when we could expect to receive a resolution. She transferred us to the appliance replacement dept who said no, they won't repair but will replace the washer. We have a matching set so of course we wanted to make sure it would be replaced with the same model. They can't promise that, but would call us back in 24-48 hours with more info.

Another week went by, no call. I call in, sit on hold for 45 minutes, and am told our replacement needs manager review, and they'll call back in 24-48 hours. I said, "That's unacceptable, it's already been 2 weeks." She says, "Sorry. That's the best I can do." Another week goes by, no call. I call in AGAIN and this time told that I can't even speak with that dept because they're busy and someone will call me back in 24 hours. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A MONTH OF NO WASHING MACHINE! It was really easy. I got a call within a half an hour and the contractor was out within an hour. He was good and very professional. It seemed like he knew what he was doing and went right to the task and did it. Everything ran very smoothly. I tell my friends that we’ve got this home warranty from American Home Shield and it worked out great for us. Whenever we need anything, we call them, they come out and take a look at it.

The icemaker was not working so we called American Home Shield to get it repaired. This was the third time we called on this ice machine. The contractor that came out fixed it and it worked for a while. I’m not sure what’s going on but this is the third time we had an issue with the icemaker. The last time that we called, it was making noise for a few days so we turned it off so we didn’t have to listen to it. When the repair guy came out, the ice maker wasn’t making the noise. So, he took some pictures of it and sent it to AHS but I haven't heard anything so I'm just trying to give it some time and do what I have to.

I originally filed the claim online as it seemed to be the easiest way. And then, I saw who AHS dispatched the work order to so I called and they sent someone else out. I've always had good customer service from AHS. If I need something, they look at my contract. And if I don’t have a number, they would just come back. Their response was good which makes me feel like I would treat my customers.

AHS usually use professional contractors. The last contractor who came out was good and he explained what was wrong with the ice machine. But he couldn't do anything as it wasn’t making the noise but he looked at the pictures that he took. He explained to me the corrosion, and why it was corroding but they're always courteous. I've had other things besides the icemaker repaired from AHS and it has always been good to have it repaired. Everybody's happy. I've been pleased with AHS and I have referred them to a few of my friends. I told them that if they want good coverage on insurance repairs on some of their appliances and other things in their house, they should get a home warranty. There were a couple that I've used before and AHS covers more and they pay out more.

The faucet for the hot water could not be turned off. I could hear some water running upstairs because ours is the real open concept thing. I tried to turn it off and then I finally went down to my husband and told him that I couldn't get the faucet upstairs. And so we stacked books on top of the faucet to keep it from doing any damage. Because of being a hot water I knew that if I cut off the water to the house then it would keep running and it would burn up the water heater.

So that's what we did and then I placed the call to American Home Shield. It was about 10:00 or 11:00 that night. They sent after hours plumbing out. It was great that they could come out and at least get us tapped off in that area because of the electric bill and the water. The two people who came for the repair was very polite and very professional. They called 15 minutes before they got here. They came the next day at around 6:00. They capped it off and then they came back the next at about 3:00. It was when they had already gotten the part which was something with the stem. It's now fixed. It was really impressive. American Home Shield definitely have the A team coming on that deal.

We've had the same problem happen about once a year and the other people who were sent out got the correct part. The problem was they were a getting a part that would work but not the correct part, and I was really pleased with that. The guy that came out most recently got the correct part, and they were able to get the furnace fixed so that it probably will last more than a year. The contractor was very good, and I'm very impressed that they finally did what somebody should have done about three times ago. With American Home Shield, you can call them or submit the claim online. So it's convenient if you're busy to go ahead and submit the claim at any time, day or night. And they respond within a few hours, even when I did it at night. One time, my AC unit wasn't blowing cool air and the gas came up and the fan blade had broken. I contacted American Home Shield and then the people called me to schedule when to meet the AC guy. They sent me a text and an email saying they were on their way and they called me also. The guy was nice and on time. I told him what was wrong and then I showed him where my AC unit was. I live in the condo so he had to go in the rooms.

He saw the broken fan blade and fixed it to see if they could get another fan blade, which they did. He told me about the average time AHS would get back with the other part was two to three days. My AC unit was from the 1960's and the bracket of the motor fell off. What he did was he went to a motor place, welded the bracket on and put the fan blade on it. When he came back, it was like new. It worked. It was a great experience. He had also shown me how to put my unit on fan to keep the air circulating even though it's off. It was to keep me cool and comfortable until he came back. It always felt cooler and when he got back, I said I wish I had been doing that all along.

My recent claim was for my dryer as it was making a loud noise. I called AHS when I filed the claim. I'm 86 and my husband's 89, and I prefer not to do things online. It was just a day when we had someone come and look at the problem. When the contractor came out, he was so knowledgeable and nice. He said it was metal on metal and he even showed me where it was. He ordered the part and a week later, he called to say that the part was in. He came back, put the part in and fixed it. I was without a dryer for a week, but that was all right. I've been using the dryer ever since and everything is topnotch. He also told me that I was lucky to have an old Maytag because the ones that they are making now aren't worth the material that they're made on.

Our most recent claim with American Home Shield was for the air conditioner. A part juggled loose and was hitting the fan, so when I turn the AC unit on, all I got was this really loud clanking. The whole neighborhood heard it, so it was unusable. I've got very good feelings about American Home Shield. They've been really great since I've lived in this house. This is my second call for them since I moved in in January, and I find that when I go in and set up for what I need, within 24 hours I have a contractor calling me to set up the appointment. He was here, not the next day but the following day, and that's on both calls.

The gentleman came in, he told me who he was at the door, he showed me his badge, we talked about what the problem was, we went out to the air conditioner, and we can remotely control the unit by using our phones. So, we turned the AC on while he was there and he looked inside it, and he said he knew exactly what was wrong. He had the air conditioner up and running in half an hour and I paid no additional cost besides the co-payment to American Home Shield.

The two gentlemen that came for both this visit and the last visit were both very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and they both took time to explain things to me, so I understood what was going on. And being somebody who's not mechanically inclined, I felt that was a wonderful thing. It was a fantastic experience for both items. We'll make sure we have enough money when renewal comes that we can renew our warranty with American Home Shield because I think it's a great service.

I had American Home Shield to come out and look at the plumbing in my shower at my kids' bathroom. The handle had broken on it and it was already difficult to turn even before that. When I submitted the claim, I did it on their website and it was easy. I did it with one hand just on my phone. I filed the claim and put in the description of what was needed to be done. The contractor contacted us within 24-48 hours to let me know that they received the claim from American Home Shield and they scheduled the visit. I tried to send out some photos so he could pick up on the brand before getting here. But he could not really tell from the picture.

Their service technician came in, looked at it and saw what the problem was right away. He ran up to the local Home Depot and came right back and fixed it. He worked on the mechanism internally and changed the handle. I had another technician looked at that and told me that I was going to have to cut a hole through my closet wall. He said the whole mechanism of the shower was ruined and the backside of the shower runs into my master bedroom closet.

When the service technician sent by American Home Shield fixed it without doing that, I asked if my whole mechanism was ruined and he said that it was not, which means that the other people were just trying to get over on me and charge me for an additional thing that I didn't really need. I like the fact that the service technician was honest and he knows he had a reputation to uphold, putting themselves in with American Home Shield. He was also informative and quick.

It was a seamless process and everything is great now. For a week we all had to use my shower in the master bedroom. Now, allowing two fully operational bathrooms made it a little easier. This was my first experience with American Home Shield and it was awesome. The guys that they partnered with were great as well. I'm glad I selected them for the warranty and I'd recommend them to anybody that would ask.

AHS is a very valuable service. I learned about it because I was in the military upstate and I was renting someone else’s home that had this. The person was actually deployed and they wanted to make sure that the tenant had responsive service and an operable house. I used it for about two years when I was at D.C. and then I came to understand the value of it.

When my garbage disposal has failed, I went online to submit a claim and it was pretty easy. The tech was responsive, very interactive and communicative, and we had a nice conversation. He also did exactly what he said. The garbage disposal has been running perfectly since then. Having a home warranty is very valuable. A lot of stuff goes wrong and I don’t have time to try to find a specialist for everything. And at least over time, you will save a lot of money.

American Home Shield drags its heels a little bit and they’re slow. There was water in the bathroom and the floor smelled really bad. My wife called in and American Home Shield got the job done but it took a little longer than it should. During that time, we had people doing some work in the living room so we were okay with the delay. We also have more than one bathroom to use. But if it was the only bathroom in the house, then we would have been really upset with that. Maybe they were looking for the best price in the marketplace and if that was the case, I'm okay with that. But if that was not the case, they need to go a little faster with their work because we pay our bills to them on time. They should fix the problem and fix it on time.

On the other hand, Foster Plumbing did a fantastic job. They made sure that everything was done correctly and before they even started, they wanted to know if we were going to leave the carpeting and if we were going to put a new one in. Of course, the carpet was all smelly and we were going to put tile in the bathroom. In order to put the toilet in, that had to be done first. So we hired somebody to buy the tile and put it in. We paid for that ourselves and that was done. Then Foster came in and showed us exactly what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. After they were done, they went over their work. They brought us in and showed us exactly what they did, little by little. Then they asked us if we had any questions and if we were happy with everything we saw.

I filed the claim online with American Home Shield and their website navigation was easy to use. The technician came and fixed the problem. My interaction with the technician for that claim was easy.

But for the previous claim, it was a little difficult. The issue then was plumbing-related. The water wasn't running right. We only got the hot water, but the cold water barely come out. But the technician said that he couldn't fix the problem and that it was not a plumbing issue. But I still ended up getting charged for that claim. So, I was thinking about terminating my account with American Home Shield. I contacted them, but they couldn't fix my plumbing problem and I still have it. My experience with American Home Shield was not good. It's a good program but the people that they send sometimes can't resolve the problem.

One big issue is that the people they send can only come on Monday to Friday. I'm working on Monday to Friday and it's hard for me to take days off from work. But they can't send anyone to come on Saturday. The last time, the people that they sent told me that they'd come on certain days. So I took the day off of work, but then the guy still couldn't come, so I wasted one day off from my work. I can tell friends to try American Home Shield, but there's no guarantee they can fix the problem, and then they have to take days off of work. I know a Sunday is not possible as people need to go to church. But if American Home Shield can have someone come out at least on Saturday, that would be helpful, but it's just not possible.

I told them to go find the part which was out there and that I'd rather wait two or three weeks for them to find the part than for me to have to take their little copay and spend another $1,500 on a decent oven myself. I'm in waiting mode now and as of yesterday, their rep told me it could be three to five weeks for the part and I didn’t appreciate the customer service person I spoke to yesterday. He was their emotionless robot.

When I asked if there was any way to expedite my claim because I’m a business owner and I have customers, and how I could get more details, he replied that there were no more details and they could not expedite. Then, when I told him their other rep told me that the part would be ordered today and if I could get confirmation on that, he said they didn't provide confirmation. So, it was some bad service. My experience with American Home Shield has all been positive except for this issue with my oven. I've been getting the runaround and maybe the person I spoke to yesterday simply isn't empowered to do anything other than what's on a script, but if I treated my customers that way, I'd be out of business.

Also, AHS was very inflexible in terms of who they contract with. When I had the garbage disposal issue, AHS told me they only had one contractor in my area that could come out next Monday between 3:00 and 5:00. It's a small town and there are a lot of plumbers. AHS might want to broaden their horizons and not have me wait a week. Fortunately, I work from home and I work whenever I want, but for the average person who's got a job or got to get the kids somewhere, that type of limitation is very unfriendly.

If a friend is considering American Home Shield, I'd tell them not to rule it out but compare other home warranty companies. And if they can get at least two or three to talk to them, they should find out the available contractors in their area, dig into the contract, and see what the reality is when something happens such as getting offered $350 to replace a $2,000 oven.

I called to submit a claim for my AC and the rep automatically told me that I needed to pay $106. The contractor then came out. He told me that my AC unit isn't being made anymore and that I have to get a new one. He also said that I needed to come up with $3,000 before they could even get started on the AC because I needed a new one. Since the guy left, I haven't heard back from them and I'm still waiting. I got AHS to help me with my appliances but they're not really helping me because I'm still paying for the whole thing. I could've paid my part and they could've paid a bit more than what they were going to pay to help me out a little bit, considering they are AHS.

The first experience we had with AHS was the contractor was not too good at fixing products. Then, the washing machine that they gave us, we're still having issues out of it. It doesn't twirl up like it should. This is the thing with home warranty people and it's insane. We pay the warranty to take care of our home and that's all we expect. We expect the best experience out of the ones they send. It's always a stipulation that, "We don't do this or we don't call that." It's all about who you get as an agent or a customer service person. Anybody don't treat you the same.

We use a home warranty, but I don't have to have a home warranty. I got electricians and plumbers, people who build houses that I know that I've contacted. But I use AHS because they're very convenient. I can get them when I need them. But other than that, it's too early to say how they are going to treat me now because I have a problem now that the guy has to come back on the same thing. The tech that they sent to fix our sink and our toilet was good. He's great and I told him that I would like to have him anytime that we have an issue. However, the sink is not yet fixed completely. He came around, he fixed one thing. But they didn't check the rest of it because the faucet is going bad.

I had two toilets that were dripping. The one toilet was not flushing properly. Every couple of days I had to use the plunger. Then I had a kitchen leak and the cutoff valve was leaking. I filed a claim online with AHS and the process was not that easy. They cannot list all the things that are required so you have to call back in again and tell them exactly what needs to be done.

It took 2 days for them to send a technician and it didn’t go well. After like three minutes I just told him to leave because there were like five things to do on the list and he wasn’t too happy with that. The way I noticed how American Home Shield works, the technicians are going to come over here, spend 15, 20 minutes and then leave. Then I had my faucet hooked up and I told him, “Can you unscrew that faucet and see that it's dripping?” He did that and then he hooked it on again. I had my kitchen remodeled. While they were putting new faucets on, the water was shut off for half a day until they got it fixed up. I couldn’t cut it off. Then he refused to fix it.

Then I told him, “The commode is not flushing properly. It must be a blockage or something,” and he said, “No. You guys are using the wrong toilet tissue.” I said, “I've been in the house for 15 years using the exact same thing. There's something else wrong it.” He said, “No. There's nothing wrong.” He said, “I'm not even sure why you guys sent me over here.” Then I just asked him to leave.

I made like five calls about that to AHS but they kept on telling me a supervisor’s going to call me back. Nobody has called back. I called the plumbing company. They came out. As soon as the technician left, I called the company and tried to explain to them what happened and they wouldn’t listen to me. She said, “My technician was right. You were wrong.” Then they just hung up the phone. Others who have come out just want to keep it bare minimum and just get out the door. But some of them have come back and took care of the issues completely.

I couldn't cook for over a week because I thought my oven was messed up. I also had a dryer that was moved and I thought the movers messed it up because it wouldn't come on so, I put it out, got it hold off and got another dryer. Whenever that dryer wouldn't come on and the oven wouldn't come on, I called AHS. The guy that came out looked at it and said it's not the oven nor the dryer. It's the breaker. It would be on the Entergy company so, I called Entergy and they came out. I have sort of electrical problems going on with my house. My power surges and my lights are flickering. We had one breaker that kept dripping and it's not what I want to deal with right in the hallway.

I shouldn't have to keep paying $75 service fee and not getting stuff done. The contractor even told me that they have two hours to spend at my house and that's they're supposed to spend out there until they can find something else wrong. And then, it can be requested to have more time to cover the pay. From what I'm hearing, their hands are tied for how long they have to spend out at my house. That's not fair. To me, that's crap. Not everything is going to be a quick fix. I'm about to pay my third service fee of $75 so, that's $225 I'm about to pay and my issue is still not resolved. If there's something wrong, I want it fixed. On the other hand, the contractors have been super nice. I just bought the house and I've been in it for 60 days. I should be able to feel comfortable in my house. It's just very frustrating and I'm disappointed with American Home Shield.

I went and looked at my pool and it was starting to fill up with sand. And when I researched the problem, it was an extensive one in my filter where it busted on the inside and it was letting the sand go back into the water. I had pool coverage with my warranty so I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and I set it up for them to fix it. Dealing with the reps was very nice. I had to use them a few months ago for our air conditioner. Both of my units were getting a little issue so I wanted them checked which the repairman did. I didn't realize that you had to pay two separate service calls if you have two units in your house so they called me and I paid them over the phone. Then, they advised the repairman to do both units. It was a pleasant interaction and the techs have all been great.

The pool people were very professional and nice but it took a while for the parts to come in and they didn't really update me so I had to call them a couple of times to find out what was going on with the repair and when they were going to come. After the repair, everything has been working like it should. Also, I live about 20 minutes from my house and whenever they come to repair, I would just leave work. While working at home, I would need them there and then they will repair whatever and then I'll just drive back to work. It’s worth it and I would be renewing my contract when it’s up next month.

Ridiculous! Eight trips to fix my refrigerator... are you guys insane? I have never been treated with such disregard. My time is just as important as yours, but apparently you all do not agree. The past two months dealing with AHS has been nothing less than painful. I have had to dump and restock my refrigerator numerous times because the company you originally sent out to do the repair was unsuccessful! That company (...) was sent to my house FIVE TIMES! That is absurd! It wasn't until after I lost my cool with you guys did you finally send a knowledgeable company out (Gulf Coast Service Center).

I am a working mother of two very active boys. I do not have the time to sit and wait for technicians to come every darn week. I do not have the money to weekly dump and restock my refrigerator; because it didn't get fixed correctly. I do not have the patience to wait 10-20 minutes every time I call for you all to pick up the phone. I am truly appalled by the way AHS handled this situation. You did not care about my time. You did not care about the inconvenience it was for me and my family. You did not care about the money I was wasting on buying new, fresh food. All you cared about was saving your own dime, but certainly not your reputation.

Would you be okay with not having a consistently working refrigerator? Would you like to spend countless hours dealing with getting it repaired? Would you be okay with paying monthly to a home warranty company that's slogan is "if we can't fix it... we'll replace it... after 2 months and 8+visits"? Me neither! I am thankful for AHS finally sending a knowledgeable technician, Travis, from Gulf Coast Service. Although, had you sent him out to begin with; I wouldn't be writing such a horrible review.

Also... I believe that the 1st company you sent out should be checked into by AHS. I'm not sure if all the work that was supposedly being done, and all the parts that were supposedly being replaced were in fact done/replaced. So hopefully my refrigerator continues to work, and hopefully I do not need AHS "assistance" anytime in the near future. I sincerely hope this review is read thoroughly by someone who has the authority to make some changes; or I might need to make some myself. Your very disappointed and annoyed customer, Kim.

The hot water heater busted. It was leaking big time and there was no way of repairing it. I submitted the claim with American Home Shield online and then on the phone. They sent out a contractor almost the next day, but it couldn't be fixed until AHS replaced the whole unit. The thing I didn't like about it was that I was told by the contractor that AHS wouldn't cover for a similar thing, but one that has less BTUs. And when I said, "Okay. Then, go ahead and get me one that's similar and I'll pay the difference," I got called by AHS later to say that, "That's not true. We'll give you one of the same." And I said, "Okay." When I said, "Okay. Then, don't do what the contractor said that he was going to do the upgrade just to the same one that you guys will be giving me," they said they'll call the contractor to confirm but they never did.

The contractor called me back and said that, no, they were never going to call and do I still want to keep the appointment and do I still want to upgrade. So, I called AHS and they told me that, no, they only have one that has less BTUs. I thought they were going to give me equal, but they didn't. So, I went ahead and did the upgrade and paid the extra $110 more for the upgrade. But there are a lot of hidden fees because they don't cover a lot of things. The hidden fees weren't inclusive. I was thinking that it was just going to cost me $100 for the contractor to come out and then they're going to fix them all. So I was sure that if I didn't have American Home Shield, it would probably cost me $1,500 or so. They should be upfront and say that, "We'll cover this much, but there will be hidden fees that you have to pay the contractor." I ended up paying $510 out of this whole thing because they don't cover for earthquake straps and the gas tank on top.

I had two claims to American Home Shield. One was for a refrigerator and one was for a light switch. Both claims were filed online and the technicians were out the next day in both cases and they were neither very communicative. Since I’ve been using the wrong light bulb, I found out that my light switch could only accommodate incandescent bulbs, and I had no idea of any of that. If I hadn’t asked questions, I wouldn’t have found out what was wrong. I asked the guy, “What’s causing it to act like a strobe light?” And he said that I can’t use fluorescent lights with the dimmer switch as it was not set to work with fluorescents. I asked him, “What about halogen?” to which he said that it also was not set for that. I told him I wanted to start using energy efficient lights.

He was already there with the part and had almost finished putting it in, and he said that energy efficient lights cost a lot more but I might have paid the extra. The guy was knowledgeable once I asked him, but I would have done it differently if I had known all the information. On the other hand, the refrigerator guy was better. Since the repair, everything is fine. I love having a warranty on a property and I recommend American Home Shield to everybody. It’s just peace of mind knowing that I can have someone come and look at what’s wrong with my system and they’re not going to charge me an arm and a leg. The contractors may have an incentive to do that and get more out of American Home Shield, but it’s the peace of mind knowing that I have a flat cost if I need to change out an appliance.

I usually have to wait till they call back, like if I call five times, I'll probably get an answer once. We had a plumber and a drywall person, and my husband was there for that appointment. The drywall person was awesome and fast. The plumber had to come out twice because initially, he thought the leak was from the roof but it was actually a pipe. And then, he had to come out twice for the bathroom and twice for the dishwasher. I had to call back and make a new call for the half bathroom because when he came out the previous times, I showed it to him but I didn't have an actual call-in for it.

If I didn't have a little bit of knowledge or background, it would have been easy for me to just put in a call and for them to come out and say, "Oh, it's not this," but it really is. But everyone was really nice. It's good to have American Home Shield as a warranty company, but I'd advise others to have a thorough conversation with whatever vendor about the source of the problem.

He looked at it and said that it was going to cost quite a bit of money to fix. He didn’t think he'd get the parts because I pretty much had to have a whole new washer. It took them four days before they figured out what they were going to do. I was without a washer the whole time and it was expensive going to the laundromat. They couldn’t repair the washer and they're supposed to be delivering a new one on Monday. I got a front load to see if it would work better than the top load.

The other claim I had was for my AC that went out on Sunday. AHS said it would be a week before they could send a technician out. I told them to forget it and that I had to get somebody else because my mom, who is in her 70’s, lives with me and I can't have no air conditioner for a week in Texas. Finally, I called and AHS got somebody to come on Thursday. AHS did what they said they would, but they were a bit slow.

We had a good experience with American Home Shield. When I called them, not only was the stove acting up but the microwave was acting up as well and they were both Whirlpool and I wanted to see if they could combine the visit with one repair center. One of the burners on the stove was not working and also there was an issue with the controls where you would put it on rapid bake or rapid preheat, and once it gets the temperature, it's supposed to cycle over to bake and sometimes it would cycle over and sometimes it would get stuck and stay in scrolling mode and it wouldn’t flip over.

Within a week, someone from Ashman Appliance Service came in and he was able to fix the microwave first. Then, he looked at the burner and determined that the burner was bad. He also ordered a motherboard for the stove and told me that when the burner gets bad, it shorts out the switch. So he also ordered a switch and he came back only to find out that they had sent him the wrong burner. So he reordered that again but in the meantime, he put in the motherboard and the switch and then he came back another time and put on the burner and that looked okay. Right afterward, we noticed that another burner adjacent to it now had come dislodged from him working on the unit.

I called American Home Shield again and they reopened the case. Then, Ashman Appliance promptly called and I was able to communicate with them through sharing a photograph through our smartphones showing them what was going on. The technician asked me to send him a picture of the serial model of the stove and that he would reorder that burner. He then came and installed it. So after six visits, we're now in good working order. A lot of it was beyond their control and it wasn't their fault.

Additionally, the Ashman’s always call in advance and let you know when they were going to be there and they were always there on time. It just took an extended period to get things situated. But they were always very pleasant. Other than that, the call center of American Home Shield puts you on an extended wait if you're needing to call in. At the same time, I've learned and tried to schedule things and do stuff online if it were possible. Still, I am happy with American Home Shield and there wasn’t anything they could have done to help minimize the visits. It was kind of a comedy of circumstances. I've had American Home Shield for five years and there had been times when I would like to have a little bit faster service, but I've always found that they've been fair and reasonable. I've recommended them to several of my colleague in the office.
