One of our air conditioning units had just stopped working. We know nothing about air conditioning so we called in on the American Home Shield number. The contractor came out the next day. We've had air conditioning problems in the past and he has been here before. He was courteous and professional. And the AC is now working as it’s supposed to work. We're happy and we're gonna renew AHS next year. We'd tell friends to get AHS, especially if they have an older house.

When I went to turn the water hose on, the pipe was cracked because it got real cold. So I called and put the claim in to American Home Shield. I got a text back saying whose company was gonna fix it and the time and date when to expect them. It was on a Saturday and they came out on Monday when it was convenient for me since it was a holiday and I had the day-off.
The contractor was good, diagnosed the problem, took care of everything and replaced the valve. After I filled out the paperwork, he went back and checked because according to him, sometimes, even after he has checked everything, there may be still a leak so he wanted to make sure before he left. He did a good job and everything is working fine. I also had a problem when the heating went out. It was a unit in the attic and they sent someone out. He diagnosed the problem and made the repair on the wire and it was good. I was still with another company when I signed up with AHS last October. I got rid of that company and I haven't had any problems.

Our air conditioner was not working, so American Home Shield sent someone out. The contractor came quickly and it turned out that the compressor was broken. They got the part pretty quickly and fixed it. The air conditioner is working well now. Also around the same time, the pool filter was broken and it was the same thing. The AHS response was all fairly quick. In fact, a lot quicker than I expected it to be.
The contractors that AHS sent were very nice and helpful. They answered all of our questions and even certain questions that weren’t relevant to the specific part. They also showed us how to use it and told us what the problem was. They were also very professional. It has been about a week now that everything was fixed and everything has been working really well. I would definitely recommend American Home Shield. They were on the case very quickly, got the contractors out, and everything was scheduled very seamlessly.
It means the world that you would take time share your AHS experience Ashley. We value you feedback and look forward to servicing your warranty needs. Thanks for choosing AHS. Have a great week.

I had water coming out of my faucet that wouldn’t stop. I called American Home Shield directly and the reps were great. My experience when submitting the claim was great as well. The contractor who was sent was very nice and customer friendly. He fixed the issue and since the repair, the faucet has been 100% better. I’m sure my water bill would drop. I’ve referred people to AHS before and I'd tell my friends that’s the place to go to. I love American Home Shield.

Our water heater wasn't keeping the water as hot as it should so American Home Shield sent someone out and took a look at it. And the heater is getting old but it's not ready to be replaced yet so we're just waiting for it to die. I called AHS, instead of submitting the claim online, because there's this one company that I didn't want AHS to give me. I told them I wouldn't use that person again and they said that was fine. The rep that I spoke with was really nice and she set up and took care of everything. She did a good job. And then, I got the company that I wanted, which I had worked with once before. The tech said all the parts were working so there was really nothing to repair. It's just not working like it should and it's probably gonna go out the next year, too. Overall, the experience was really easy and simple. AHS does a really good job and they're responsive. And almost always, I've really enjoyed working with the contractors they have sent.

My washer would not empty. I called American Home Shield on the phone and told the reps that I needed to make a claim. I’ve been satisfied with how the reps and I interacted. They were good, answered the questions, and told me upfront how much it was gonna cost. They kept me well-informed on what I needed and what I needed to take care of. Then, one contractor came out and he did very well. I was very pleased with him as he took the time to explain to me what was wrong and fixed it. And if I had that problem again, he told me what to look for and where to look, and that was a big thing to me. I was also having a few issues with the dryer and he showed me what to do to fix that. And because there was some noise coming from my icebox, he checked the refrigerator as well so everything was perfect on it. So far, everything has been fine and good since the contractor came.
I’ve been satisfied with American Home Shield and I’ve told people that they need to use AHS. The only thing that concerns me is the price. AHS keeps climbing up on it and it’s a lot higher every time they come. So, it’s a big deal to me. Otherwise, all the guys I’ve ever had come out and look at anything have been superb except for one contractor. It was the one that put my new water heater in because the other one caught on fire. They hooked up the things wrong. I told American Home Shield and they had them fix it but I ended up having to fix it.
The techs were very snotty and not good guys at all. They left tools and everything else just lying around and shoved things back without cleaning out the area. I told them that it needs to be cleaned up before they put the heater because I was afraid of my water heater not being level. But they told me that if I needed it cleaned, I should clean it myself. I said that they were the ones working on my product but they wouldn’t do it. So, I grabbed my broom and cleaned it up myself before they left, so that the water heater and everything would sit right. I wasn’t satisfied with them in any way and I told them they could never come back to my house.

I was having trouble with my kitchen drain, where the garbage disposal was backing up into the other sink rather than going down the drain. The contractor put in a new drain and a new drain pipe underneath and that solved the problem. I’ve used different plumbers, a heating guy and a water heater thing. And all three times, the people that came out were very professional and nice. It took a little while to fix the 19-year-old heater as they had to order a part but they got it done. My contract is up in June and I plan to renew it.

After the repair everything has been working fine. We've had a home warranty in the past though and we had an AC go out. They were the only ones that worked on it and we had problems with them replacing it. We weren't happy in the past, so we were leery about this time. But this time, it was just the garbage disposal so it was fine.

I've submitted a claim for a hot water heater when I first bought my house, and then over the years, and it's been like every couple of years, the AC unit. They're coming out today to do my AC. Submitting a claim over the phone has always been good. They’ve always been polite and helpful. The techs who were sent over were professional as well. After the repairs, the AC has been doing good. When I spoke with American Home Shield's reps in past phone calls, they were very professional. And they dispatch a contractor within 24 hours. But then, it depends on the contractor as well. My wife called to submit a claim for our AC that wasn’t working. The contractor who came asked what was it doing before and then he troubleshot whatever was going on. Our AC has been great since then. Having our warranty is very valuable. It gives me peace of mind that if something was to happen, I have somebody's support. I have recommended AHS. The following is a review I left for one of your vendors in the Tampa Bay area. When I called AHS asking about my options to select somebody else I was told that I couldn't because they had already order a part. My option was to pay another fee to get a different vendor out there. I was a little outraged since "I thought" my contract included that the problem would be fixed. My problem isn't fixed and the vendor they are using refuses to scheduling as I need. I am not asking for something completely off base. I am not asking for them to fix my dishwasher at 8 PM at night. I am only asking for a 3-5 window or Saturday. So American Home Shield, how are you going to remedy this?
If I could, I would give a zero along with American Home Shield for contracting with this unprofessional bumbling example of a company. When they first came out to diagnose my issue it was on Saturday. Unfortunately they carry dishwasher drain pumps for probably the most bought dishwasher branch in the world (Whirlpool). No problem. Not really a big deal. They had to order the part and come back out to install.
A few days later I get a call that they needed to schedule to come back out. Now they never answer the phone when you call back. You always have to leave a message and they call you leave a message, you call them leave a message. You get the picture. So once you finally get them on the phone I attempted to schedule the repair. I asked for a Saturday service or an appointment after 3 PM. She laughed and so no way am I am getting a Saturday. I asked why because you initially came out on a Saturday. She said that was fluke and doesn't normally happen. I am ok with that I guess as long as we can schedule during the week convenient for me. Well there really isn't any convenience for the customer. You either take their appointments. The young lady on the phone will laugh at you and say, "That's not going to happen." I only asked that my appointment be after 3 PM. I could be 3 PM on the nose. I didn't care.
I work far from my house and travel sometimes. My wife is a teacher. Neither one of us can take three hours off in the middle of the day. I then asked, "Can we schedule after Memorial day." School is out and the time window issue during the day becomes a mute point. She laughed again at me and said, "No way. We can't schedule." So buyer beware. Don't use them. Whoever owns this company should really look at who he/she is hiring in their office and review their schedule practices. Looking at these reviews I would say your staff is costing you business.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. A social media specialist will follow up with you as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

So I always make a phone call. Recently, I had a claim for my water heater. They couldn't fix it until they do some kind of modification and you have to have a permission for that. I had to make payments for this and for that and it was expensive. Other than that, the contractors they sent out were very good, especially the last guy who did the water heater. He was helpful.

The blower works but there is no heat in the house at all. So when I called American Home Shield to submit a claim, the technician said it was the wiring. However, when he came out and inspected it, he said it was the control board. It was not getting the temperature and it had to be replaced. The technician was very courteous and professional and explained to me what he was doing. I was concerned because we had one cold week and this happened right when it was cold. So, he instructed me to shut it off because I was not sure that I was getting any heat out of it. He told me to keep it off because I'm gonna burn out the motor and we will have to go get that part as well. They called the next morning and told me they were able to find the part in Fort Worth. They came back the next day after and installed it. I was pleased with the service that I have mentioned to two people how they were able to get the part and come back the next day to fix it.

The AC stopped working so I called American Home Shield and they sent a technician who got it going. They found out there was a relay that went bad. And then two weeks later, it was going but it wasn’t cooling. So I called them again and they sent the same company who recharged my unit with three pounds of Freon and it has been working ever since. I submit a claim either online or by phone and within the next 24 or 48 hours, I get a contractor coming in, and then they take care of the problem. But sometimes it takes about anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes before I get somebody on the line when I call. Other than that, my wife and I are very satisfied with the response.
They send contractors from the local area and give us a four-hour window. Then, they call 30 minutes before they arrive to make sure I am available at home. It’s a good relationship between me and AHS and the contractors. American Home Shield is great and it’s the best thing we ever got for our household. I submitted a claim recently to American Home Shield online for a garbage disposal and an oven. And everything has been fine since the repair. My husband also put in a claim for a microwave because the microwave was making a funny noise. It was quite loud when it was cooking the food. The repairman who came out and did the oven looked at the microwave. He said when it’s an insurance company, they can’t really do repairs on it if it’s not actually non-working, which I thought was odd. If they were already here, it made sense financially not to have a whole other claim for something if he prevented it from breaking. The contractors did a good job but they don’t work on things because they’re noisy. They work on them if they’re actually broke. That aside, I would recommend American Home Shield. I’m satisfied with what they did. It was very quick getting the scheduling done and having someone out.

I have had two claims with American Home Shield and the first one was absolutely wonderful with Precision Garage Door. They were wonderful. Everything was not only on point but professional, and they got it all done and went beyond. However, my second experience had been less than acceptable. I've had someone from East Electronics come out to see about my Bosch downdraft, my vent on my cooktop. He told me that my cooktop had no electricity and that I needed an electrician. I said that it was connected and was in the same outlet. I had electricity and I just cooked on it. He said that I had to have a match to start the fire. I said no and that I had an automatic ignition. It comes on as soon as I turn on the pilot. The man, however, did not seem to understand what I was saying and I hardly could understand what he was saying too.
I was totally in awe of how he stood in front of me and told me something that was totally erroneous. I told him that he was from East Coast Electronics and he was there to fix it. I also asked why someone else had to come. He said that mine was a different work order and that someone needed to do the wiring, then he left. I called him and told him that I was really confused because my stove was working. He said that he just ordered parts for my stove. I asked him how he ordered the parts if he hasn’t seen the downdraft. He said that he already ordered the parts. So, I called American Home Shield and I relayed to them what happened, and they very quickly said that they will contact the contractor and see what was going on. They wanted something in writing that that was what happened and what the result was.
That was over a week ago that he was supposed to have that in, but it still hasn’t come in until yesterday. I spoke to several people and I've been on the phone at least five times. And each time, I had to hold on over half an hour. But that was okay because someone eventually answered. One time, American Home Shield called me back and asked if I would like them to call me back. The wait was over 29 minutes. I said sure and left my name and number, and they, sure enough, called me back. I am not at all dissatisfied with American Home Shield but with the last contractor that came here. It's been almost two weeks. I still don't have the issues that I called to be repaired fixed. American Home Shield has given me good talk, but I haven't seen the walk with this one.

A coil was defective in one of my three AC units and the first company that came out and did the assessment said that the coil needed to be replaced. In the meantime, while that was going on, I was told that they would contact me when they would come in to put in the new coil. I was told that it was due to lack of maintenance and that American Home Shield was not responsible for the coil. So, I requested a second company to come for a second opinion and the company found the coil defective not due to lack of maintenance but it was leaking oil. I submitted the claim again to AHS and I was told that I had to pay over a $1,000 because the insurance doesn't cover certain parts of the coil. So, I’m over a $1,000 here but I need to pay to have the coil removed.
I was already a member of American Home Shield before hurricane Katrina happened in 2005. After the hurricane, I lost everything. I stopped my policy until I rebuilt my home and then I acquired the policy again. Recently, they made me mad that they weren't going to pay me for the coil so I wanted to discontinue the service. But I called the next day and told them I was only acting out of anger and they reinstated the policy. I've been with American Home Shield for a total of over 15 years but I'm very dissatisfied with them. Every year I call for this AC to be fixed and the contractors come and fix this very same AC only to find out that the whole time it was the coil that was bad. American Home Shield tells me the problem was due to lack of maintenance but it was them who was lacking because they've been doing the maintenance. It wasn't right for them to treat me like that after all this time that I've been with them.

The shower wasn’t able to go from tub to shower. It was moving, but it wasn’t plugging. I logged on and I filed two claims to American Home Shield. For the first one, I called and discovered that I wasn’t fully-covered for my claim so I upped my plan to suit what I needed done. The first guy I spoke to was really helpful. And he had a calm and inviting voice that was like warmed-over leather. He was really smooth with the way he was delivering the information and he made me feel really good about the whole process. And then the second time, the AHS reps told me how to file a claim online to make it more convenient. It was really easy online. I went on there, clicked the place that said, “Plumbing issue” and then pulled it up. I got a call from the plumbing company and we set up a time. I told them that I wasn’t gonna be here but my wife was. They came, took a look at the problem with the shower, and waited for the parts to come in.
The wait was like a couple of weeks. But it’s insurance, and it usually takes longer than what they anticipate. So I called the contractor and they said the parts should be in by Thursday and they'd call me and set up a time right after that. And then they actually called me back the next day and they said the earliest that they could come was the day after that. But it was a little bit funny because they called back after that and told my wife that their guy would be able to come on a Monday instead, which was fine. But then, he ended up showing up that Friday. And that was perfect. He installed the shower and now it’s working like a charm.

We've been with American Home Shield for about nine months. We had a lot of appliances that were coming out from underneath the original warranties and I had been talking to people who were in a similar situation, and AHS was recommended by somebody that I worked with who had had good success with the program. My wife filed a claim when our freezer drawer was slightly off the track. I looked at it myself but was unable to get it off the track, and my theory was that something had broken. The technician that came fixed it very quickly for us and showed us how the thing went back in. There was really no repair. It was just an explanation to us as to what we had to do if the thing came off the track again and it was really simple. He was only there for a few minutes and we were very satisfied with the service. American Home Shield was very reliable and efficient.

My air conditioner had a coil leak and I submitted the claim with American Home Shield online. They don’t have the best subcontractors, so I picked one that I wanted and that was who they sent over. The subcontractor they sent over earlier never showed up, so I ended up having to go with a different one that they have. I have had good luck and bad luck with American Home Shield, but anything that deals with an air conditioner normally isn’t a good thing because they just keep repairing them and I end up eventually buying a new one because they don’t pay for the Freon. I end up paying $1000 every time somebody has to come out and drain the Freon no matter what the issue is. All they do is keep putting patches on it. The air conditioner is a waste of money to have them come out. Once the air conditioner gets to be a certain age, it’s not worth it and I might as well buy a new one because I just keep calling them out every time.
I normally make a claim for small things online and through that, the contractors show up and do it. But for big things like the air conditioner, which is always a problem, I normally talk to a customer rep. My interactions with American Home Shield have been fine. If I have an issue with my furnace, they would send out the same people, so I have no issues with them at all. My interactions with the AC subcontractors haven’t been good, but the last AC subcontractor was fine. I would tell my friends that getting American Home Shield depends on how old their house is. If it’s a new house under warranty, I wouldn’t do it, but if it’s a house that’s out of warranty, then I’d pick and choose the appliances that I wanna have covered, which is a good thing if they can pick and choose what they wanna have covered.
Hello, Mr. Dennis. I definitely understand what you are stating about your A/C repairs. You should speak with a rep to make sure the work order is getting the proper treatment, especially if it is your only unit and you need service quickly. Thank you for letting us know about your experiences.

Plus, he did the job in 10 minutes. He came in with this machine, took off the top of the stopper, went in there, pulled out some junk and said that I'm good to go. I see them advertised all the time and I appreciate that the homeowners get a chance to find out about them since when I bought my home, I had no clue about getting protection on the home. I have used to recommend American Home Shield to all my friends with a brand new house. I tell them to get a home warranty and use American Home Shield before their house gets 10 years old. However, this time with our ongoing claim, I wouldn't do so. I called American Home Shield and reported that the washing machine would not wring out the water. Bennett Heat Air & Electric came out and they tried to fix the unit. They decided to replace the washing machine, but when it arrived, it didn’t have the pedestal so my wife refused it. The pedestal is used to put the unit at the right height for one to load the washing machine. They don't have the matching pedestal and the old one is not gonna go on there. So, they took the washing machine back.
Right now, we can’t even get in touch with anybody. While the American Home Shield reps were very patient to deal with, our call always goes to the answering service. My wife leaves messages and tells them to call her back at a particular contact number because either I was busy or working. One time she called them then they called in less than 20 minutes, but they called my number and I was asleep that time. I’ve been without a washing machine now for over a month. My wife is going through shoulder therapy and I have to go to the washeteria to wash clothes. So, I’m very dissatisfied.

My only beef with American Home Shield is that it's really hard to get through. Yesterday, I tried to call for an air conditioner problem but I couldn’t get a hold of anybody. You can file the claim online but I don’t do that very well. I haven't even got a computer. But for the rest of it, American Home Shield has been more than good. When I submitted a claim a while back for my toilet and a couple of plumbing issues, the rep was real nice and pleasant. She basically asked me what the problem was.
I misdiagnosed the issue though. I'm disabled and I couldn’t see. The contractor shined a light and showed me a hairline crack. Then he filled the tank up with water and water started coming out of the crack. I didn’t even see that and he said it was just because I didn’t have a good enough light. He was real friendly. When he came back out, he brought another guy to help him and they were real professional. They took care of my issues. They had to replace the tank but because you can’t just buy a tank, they had to replace the whole thing. It’s brand new and it works perfect now.

I had a problem with my garbage disposal and there was a leak from it under the sink. So I called American Home Shield and they sent a fellow out. There was very little interaction with the technician. He came in and looked under the sink there and found that there was a crack in the garbage disposal. He guessed that it came from something going into the garbage disposal that was not supposed to be there. American Home Shield then denied my claim. I wasn’t too happy with it since they didn’t cover the crack. I would tell my friends to choose wisely because the only time American Home Shield would cover an appliance like that is if they wore out because of age. And most appliances aren’t just gonna wear out. Also, if there was an accident or in a situation where we had no idea that something would’ve gone down the garbage disposal, the only thing we had to go on is the plumber’s assumption on what the problem was.

Once they put the compressor in, I paid for the freon. Two weeks later, I called again and told them that there was an issue with the compressor. They came back and told me that it was the fan motor and not the compressor. Now, they came back and told me that it was something else. I paid for a fee and they said it was the fan motor. They wrote it up that it could be an electrical issue.
Then, American Home Shield said that they were not responsible and that they were not gonna pay for it. They then sent out another person as a complimentary. When they found out that it was the compressor, the same issue I have been dealing with, they were not gonna pay for the compressor again. I usually call in and talk to someone to submit my claims to AHS. Then I get a call from whoever it is that’s gonna come out and they’re there when they say they are. Their reps are very accurate in what they do and they’re to the point to get the information they need. My garage door opener had a problem and it has been the second time that AHS has sent a contractor to come out on it, but it’s been a year in between. The contractor that came recently was great. He tried to explain to me what was happening with it. One of the chain ribbons in it binds sometimes.
Since the repair, my garage door opener works fine. My son also has American Home Shield, which is under my name, in his house and he just had a refrigerator repaired. It has been working fine, too. They were done approximately at the same time. However, I’ve had trouble with one electrical company. It was their attitude in the house. They dragged stuff across my carpet and it was like, “We’re just here to do this as quick as we can.” I've told AHS I wouldn’t work with them anymore.
Another thing is that AHS's bill changes by a dollar every once in a while. I have it taken directly from my account and it makes it a little difficult sometimes. I’ve got to wait and see what was actually charged on it. It was never more than a dollar but it could be either an increase or a decrease. Other than that, American Home Shield has always been really good. They are very professional. My claims are usually taken care of on the first trip. If not, they’re back within a short time.

I’ve submitted claims to American Home Shield online and on the phone. I’m an old guy and I like talking to a representative on the phone telling them what’s going on. Both are easy but online is quicker and it’s what I have done more than the other. The reps are confident and if there was a situation with a vendor, I call them and ask them what’s going on. An example is when I had a GE Microwave oven and the GE guy did not send the report back to AHS. When I called them, they told me to either call GE or they can reach out to them. We both tried and so it’s gone well for us and we’ve been pleased so far. When the press cycle in my washing machine didn’t work, American Home Shield replaced the whole unit. I also have a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator and the icemaker was broken and they repaired that. They were very helpful.
The contractors are good and it’s minimal contact. They wanna know where the problem is and I point them in the right direction. They’re independent people and don’t need my help. I don’t have to stay there and all the time, my wife will just be here. I have a high-efficiency furnace and I had a problem with it last year. It was the control module on the furnace and they said it was more expensive to replace that than to replace the unit. So they just replaced the unit and those guys cleaned up and were in and out. They went ahead at it and did their job. They put on dust booties when they were in the house. They were good people and they respect your property. Since the repair, everything has been working well. Today, they’re supposed to come and replaced my waste stack. I have a bunch of leaks. It’s a black plastic which is illegal to use now and it’s not code.
The experience has been very positive and I have peace-of-mind having that insurance. If we sell the house, our real estate agent said that if we give a home insurance free for a year to the buyer, it sells faster and better. For $500, I think it was. I don’t think we have a problem showing our house but that was just a nice thing to know. Also, I’m getting older and I’ve got back problems. I used to be a fixer guy and I could get in there, spoil all around and replace the drum on the dryer and all of that motor. But I’m 62 this year and I’ve got 16 screws on my back so I can’t be doing that anymore. I need to be able to have to rely on other people now which is kind of sad but it is what it is. So, I’m totally satisfied and couldn’t live without it.

That’s kinda excessive when you got a situation where you’re dumping that much water. I had to shut the water off to the house because we didn’t know the cause.
I called American Home Shield back and told them that the people that they referred could only come out until Wednesday and asked them if they could refer someone else. The person that took this phone call told me that they needed to verify first that that was in fact what the contractor told us. She didn’t give me the second referral until I’d waited on hold for her to make some other phone call. So that part wasn’t cool. She did refer me to someone that told me they couldn’t come out until Wednesday as well. So I called American Home Shield again and told them to cancel all of it. After that I was able to pay them through my American Express card, which was an improvement, since last time I had to use them I had to wait 20 minutes on the line. Then, within two hours, I had a response from Mike from Water Control Plumbing. They were able to schedule me the very next morning and I liked that. I had an appointment at that time but I canceled it because was a high priority for me to get that because I don’t have a backup generator for the salt pump.
The service people were here and they arrived a few minutes earlier and gave me a call. Most of the other vendors that AHS have sent in the past have done that part already but I especially give Water Control Plumbing high marks for the timeliness. Then, the young man who came was courteous. He listened to what my concern was. He went down and I usually follow repairpeople down when I had something done with American Home Shield and he seemed knowledgeable about he was doing. He had found the source of the problem and he explained to me what it was and that it was a thing that happens rarely. But he told me that something from the outside sewerage system had come in and blocked something and kept the flow from going out.
He also explained to me about the cellar that I had rigged down and he could see all my sump pump piping going up and down. He said that it was one of the very best lines out there so I had a very good sump pump. So in essence, the contractor's timeliness was superb, he listened to me and what my concern was, and he was able to answer my questions that I had regarding prevention and my concerns. I felt relieved and reassured. I was extremely pleased. All of the people that they have sent to my home through these past few years have been responsive to my concerns and professional and respectful. I feel as though I’m a valued customer. But one thing I told them afterwards when I spoke with the dispatcher was to make sure that their people wear an ID. In my community, we need to make sure that they have that ID around their necks.

But I didn't notice it so much from the heater because it wouldn't get that cold but when the cold air stopped blowing, I noticed that right away. My wife filed a claim by telephone and the process was easy. Contractors usually respond within 24 hours because they depend on what time we call it in, but it's during normal business hours. Many times, we get the contractor call that same day to set up an appointment and it's usually the next day or depending on how the contractors schedule it. It's never an unreasonable amount.
The AC repairman that came out was absolutely fine. He was very friendly, professional, knew exactly what he was doing and he resolved the issue efficiently. He had to come back though because there was a part that he didn't have and he had to order it from the shop and it took him a couple of days. Other than that, everything's fine. We moved into our house and rapidly discovered that the refrigerator was not cooling. Then, we called American Home Shield. When I called, everybody I talked to was very polite. However, helpfulness was another issue. One of the biggest frustrations I had was that I could never get through to the department I needed to get to because the line was out of order. One time, I called and I was trying to get through to the parts ordering department. I tried for three days and each time the line was out of order.
On the third day, I called the main number and their reps told me that they had no idea that the department line was out of order and that they would get someone to get the telephone service in there. Still, that only meant that after two and a half days, I couldn't have been the only person trying to get through to that department. It seemed a little odd that they didn't know that one of their department lines wasn't functioning. The week after, I still wasn't able to get through on a Monday. I got through the Tuesday thereafter and after that it was spotty.
However, when I finally got through to someone, it was okay. The contractor they sent was wonderful. We replaced the compressor twice. We replaced the coil once. We replaced the fluid twice. We replaced the thermostat. And then there wasn’t anything else to replace. So, after that, then it was the question of deciding what to do. But the whole process took either six or seven weeks. He did everything he could do in a timely fashion until he was completely helpless. There was nothing else he could do to make the refrigerator hold the temperature. That repair person is now one of my best friends.
Finally, AHS did what they said they were going to do. I was supposed to get a cash-in-lieu check which I haven't received yet. Nevertheless, AHS processed my request and told me that they could see on their computer what had happened. No one ever told me that I wasn't telling the truth or that they were not going to help me. Still, it took an extended period of time before I was offered cash-in-lieu. They eventually told me that I had to buy a new refrigerator, send a copy of the receipt to Carroll, Iowa with my AHS number on it. That was two weeks ago and I still don't have the check.

The air conditioning wasn’t cooling and I didn’t have heat the whole winter because it would get to a certain temperature and it would never push the heat out. It would just heat up the furnace then it would shut off. And the cooling was just blowing out hot air. When my wife submitted the claim online, they called back and everything went great and there were no problems. The contractor knew so many people from where he originally came from that I knew. So, we kept chatting for a minute and then I let him go take care of his job but he was very courteous and he was a gentleman and so, the interaction was very good. Everything went smoothly the same day. He had the parts that I needed then he put the Freon in it and then he was gone. The repair work took less than an hour and then he had some paperwork to do. It’s working super since then and my wife said it is too cold for her now.
One of their competitors tried to sign me up with them but I’ve had an experience with American Home Shield. I first moved to this house where I am now in 2001 and that’s how long I've been with AHS. I called in and put in the number and then AHS said somebody from Blatz will call me. So then they called and set up the appointment. My heater wasn't really broken. It just had an issue with a noise that it would make every time it turned off, and the guy just told me what was wrong. I didn't really have the contractor fix it because I had just moved in and I have many boxes in the way. We would have to move all the boxes for him to be able to put this piece of metal across the venting so it would be like an expander contract. Every time it turned off, it was a "zoom!" It was like settling or moving from the change in air pressure or something and the guy knew what it was right away. He did a good job.

I was born, raised and lived all my working life in Philadelphia. We moved to Colorado but we’ve had American Home Shield in Philly. We’ve dealt with them there and we dealt with them here and we are completely satisfied. As a matter of fact, I told my sister-in-law how great we think the warranty is and they sold the home and they’ve given the people who're buying it American Home Shield as a housewarming gift because they’re friends of theirs.
We had a water heater that stopped heating and we called American Home Shield. The claim process was no problem and we have never had any problems with American Home Shield. The rep I spoke to was very pleasant, understanding, efficient and polite. She understood our problems and she dealt with it very quickly. When I called them for having them to come back out again, it was done immediately. However, they sent out this company called Aurora State Plumbing which was the worst because we’re still having problems. The guy couldn’t fix the water heater so they had to replace it and they had to replace what they called the expansion tank. The tank leaked so the guy came back out instead of taking the expansion tank off, cleaning off the connections and rewrapping it with Teflon tapes. He put wrenches on it and tightened it up. It’s still leaking so he has to come back out today and try to fix it.
I’m not a plumber but I work on cars. I know once you had a leak and you have Teflon tape and you keep tightening it up, it’s not gonna work. You gotta take it off, clean up the ridge and rewrap it with more tape. But you don’t tell a plumber his business if you’re not a plumber so, I didn’t say anything and it’s not dripping as bad. My problem is I called Aurora State Plumbing and what I don’t understand is why I had to go back through American Home Shield for them to tell them to come back out again. That’s a step, that to me, is unnecessary. Just send him back because it’s a leak, it’s not a major problem.
American Home Shield helped us with a water heater here and back in Philly. They also helped us with our central air. It would be foolish to own a home and not have it, especially today and the rising cost of everything. The warranty is a fantastic thing to have and it’s a fantastic company. From the advertisement, they do what they say they do. It’s not like you call and you got to wait weeks to hear back about when you’re gonna get the service person out. They get back to you in a very timely manner which is great. I’d recommend it to anybody thinking about getting a home warranty company. Don’t think about any other company, get American Home Shield.

I got a contract the beginning of April so I had my mom move in to my rental property and I wanted to get the American Home Shield to cover anything in case anything happens while she's in it. I signed up back in March and then it came into effect in April. Lo and behold, the water heater leaked and when I submitted a claim to AHS, it was easy. I logged in to my account, I clicked a few buttons, then I hit submit and it was submitted. As soon as I hit submit, I got a response saying who the contractor was and then the phone number to call. So I called him about five minutes later and he already saw my claim pop up and I was able to get it set up. They sent someone out the very next day to look at it and then determined that the hot water heater needed to be replaced. Two days later, they replaced it, so it was very fast. Since then, everything’s perfect. The contractor was very accommodating and nice so that was helpful.

So far, AHS has been great. There was a leak in our guest room ceiling and I submitted the claim over the phone, and they were able to help me. Other than the wait time being a little long, the experience was fine. But still, it was better than the previous time. During our last incident, I was on the phone waiting for a rep for over an hour. This time the hold time was just 15 minutes. AHS dispatched someone to see if there was a problem with the heater or air conditioner on that floor closing it. The contractor said that there appeared to be a slight clog in one of the heater pipes. He cleaned it out and said, “See what happens from this point if you still have a leak or not.” Another time we had a problem with a bad plumber and as soon as I called AHS back, they referred our claim to a different plumber and rectified the problem. Moreover, they made the appointment in 24 hours.

We put in a claim with American Home Shield back in December on the AC unit as it wasn't cooling. We submitted the claim in the computer which was okay but I'd rather speak to somebody. We live in Enid, Oklahoma but AHS was sending us people from Kansas. We called the contractor and they told us that the only time they could get out here was a Tuesday. It was already Wednesday when we called them so we were gonna have to wait a week for them to fix our AC. So, we called AHS and they sent us a guy from Oklahoma City which was an hour and 45 minutes away. We called AHS and complained about that but they said that was all I had. The technician said that the AC was just low in Freon. He put Freon in the system and said it should be good. Also, he said the valves were leaking so he replaced the valves.
Four months later, April, we tried to use the air conditioning unit again and it was not cooling so then we called in another claim. We called AHS to make the appointment and talk to somebody and requested a local. They sent us somebody within 20 minutes from here which was awesome. The guy said that the A-frame cooling unit was leaking so they replaced the unit. I had a great interaction with the recent contractor, and the AC is working great now. It’s nice and has cold air. I would suggest AHS that they go back to where they originally did things and how I was to pick from several companies to come out and fix the claim. When we first started with AHS, we had four options to choose from. And if my friends would ask, I’d tell them to call in for their claims instead of using AHS' automated system.

One Sunday, our water heater broke so we didn’t have any hot water. We opened the closet that houses the water heater and there was water on the floor. I called the American Home Shield and I was very satisfied with them because they took the claim immediately and got the water heater fixed in a timely manner. Submitting the claim was very easy too. I just called them up and told them what happened. They called me after I submitted it and told me what was going on, and who they would send out. Then once they got an estimate from the plumbing company they called me also to give me the information.
Also, the contractors were nice when they first came out to look at the issue. They explained in detail what needed to be done and why. And then I had to wait for a couple of days for them to get the part needed and that was uncomfortable because I was without hot water for a few days. But they came out when they received the part, a couple of days later, and then fixed the issue. Things have been doing wonderful since and I’m very happy because I have hot water. So, I'd tell anyone to definitely try American Home Shield. It’s worth it.

There was a clogged toilet in our tenant-occupied property so we called American Home Shield immediately to submit a claim. AHS personnel were good and I had no problem with them but I had a previous experience with one of their contractors that was horrible. I had a problem with the control valve on the shower and the contractor was difficult to work with. They shouldn't be on the contractors list. But they took care of the problems so I didn't feel like AHS dropped the ball. And then, a couple of months later, I had the clogged toilet. And we didn't wanna use Cirigliano Plumbing because they were horrible. Usually, service people don't give you a half-hour or 20 minutes heads up and I had to have somebody present on site. But when Cirigliano knocked on the door, it was a four-hour window. It was a joke.
The guy from Cirigliano came out there and I told him what the problem was. I knew exactly what it was and I could give him the part number. I'm fixing stuff myself but the reason I didn't was because the place I buy them from were out of them. AHS refunded my $75 trade fee and then they asked, "What do we owe you for that repair?" It dawned on me and I found what I needed. The part was 12 bucks and they sent me a check for that, which was very nice. I'm a real estate broker and I sell this product. I've used another product, but I like the warranty that AHS sells. They were fair. With the companies that I had experienced with, it was okay to get somebody out there within 48 hours. But the problem was a clogged toilet and Cirigliano couldn't get to it for two days when other guys go out there the same day.
AHS wanted me to change contractors and find somebody else. I asked AHS if they can give me a half-hour notice and he said yes because they had a software program and they plug me into this program and it will automatically call me. And it did. So, it was a good experience with AHS but the contractors might be a little busy. I like AHS for the service that they provide for the price that I pay but they should take a better look at the contractors. What I really think about is the experience that my clients have when I recommend AHS for a home warranty. I can appreciate AHS, but then I might not know who they're really getting in bed with when they get these contractors on board in different areas.

I filed an air-conditioning claim online regarding the ductwork and the air not flowing into all the rooms. American Home Shield's website was fairly easy to navigate. When the first person came out and tried to diagnose the problem, he did not go up the ceiling and he was saying that the reason that one of the rooms wasn’t getting any air was because it was the furthest away. I didn’t understand this in the beginning since there were other rooms that were the same distance away. He then went away.
Then AHS sent two guys out to do the ductwork and they climbed in the ceiling. There was some ductwork that they agreed that needed to be done. They found that the ductwork into the room that we were complaining about somehow became disconnected from the main ductwork. So, the first guy, while he was very nice, had a preconceived idea of what the problem was and really was not listening to me. The two younger guys who came, on the other hand, were really great workers. They did a great job. We are pleased with what happened in the end. I would recommend AHS.

I had an issue with the air conditioner and A-US Air Conditioning of Texas came out and said to either replace it or the thermostat. There tends to be a fault sometimes with the Nest thermostat where it’ll automatically switch from going hot to cold. It’ll do the opposite. I called the claim in to American Home Shield and the claims reps were very good. The contractor was very professional, quick and thorough. He checked the thermostat first, and then he went out and checked the AC and the fluids in there. So far so good. All we did was reset the thermostat and the contractor told me to have a new thermostat replaced, but I haven’t done that yet. AHS will replace a Honeywell but they won’t replace a more expensive thermostat. I wish they would replace the Nest that I already had in there instead of just doing a remedy. My shower tub and my sink were backing up so I just needed for someone to rod it all the way through so I can get a good flow going on. I notified American Home Shield and with just a few clicks it was set up easily. The website was super straightforward. They called that same day that I submitted it. I might have submitted it like in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning, I got a call and then it just depended on my availability.
The contractor was friendly, professional, on time, explained what he was doing and kept me up-to-date. And he actually finished pretty quickly so not even a bother as far as being in the house. I've done a few claims so far and it has always been easy to make the claim and get a call really quickly. And everybody they've sent out has been knowledgeable. I'm super happy with the service so far.
When I had an issue with the furnace they came out. My contractor walked me through like it was already beyond repair so they actually replaced it and I paid the difference of whatever it was. But then after about a week or so, the new one started shutting off on me kinda similar to the other one. So they came right back out. Again they came out right away. It was under warranty so I didn’t even have to pay for them to come back. But it was kind of a problem with the way it was installed -- a new unit being hooked up to the old system, with old pipes and whatnot. So again the contractor walked me through it, explained and fixed it and I haven't had any issue since.

My AC wasn't cooling. It turned out that the coil was bad and that it had a hole in it, and all the freon was gone, too. The contractor they sent was very polite and did his job. However, they did not provide a comparable unit this time around. Years ago they replaced my washing machine which was a top of the line Kenmore unit with a beautiful one which had the same features and everything and I was satisfied. So I was a bit shocked when this claim came along. I was disappointed and I thought of cancelling the service because I put a lot of money into it and when I had a big claim they did not come through. Another complaint that I have is that AHS only provided one year warranty on it which I did not feel was sufficient. So, I went with the 10-year warranty which was twice as expensive, and I have to turn around and do the same thing again next year and that did not make sense.
I understand your concerns with the most recent repairs that were completed on your air conditioner system. I would be glad to discuss the noncovered cost associated with the new evaporator coil.

As a matter of fact, I recommended him to one of my co-workers. The local people who came out here were pretty good as well.
The reps have also been very nice and easy to talk to. It's been good interactions when we talk to each other. I like for people to be straightforward with me and they have been that. Then, whenever my ex-mother-in-law who's Taiwanese has a problem in Virginia, she'd call me and I'd call American Home Shield for her because it's very hard to understand her. It would be like a three-way type of call and the reps would let me talk on her behalf.
Throughout the 20 years that I've been with American Home Shield, I never had a complaint about them. I've always promoted them to people too. Although I'd tell them it's a great insurance, they're worried about the price. So, I assured them that if something breaks, it pays for itself. I hope American Home Shield would just keep doing the good job that they've been doing.

We submitted a claim with American Home Shield as we were not able to get hot water in the bathtub in the master bath and there was a slow drip leak on the overflow on the water heater. My husband called American Home Shield and the reps were really good. They scheduled the appointment to be on a Tuesday. We called on Friday or Saturday and they ended up coming on Monday.
Since the heater was repaired, it has been great. The people before us bought a new faucet for the hot water in the bathtub and there was some sort of safety that was on the faucets. The faucet can only turn so far to make the hot water come. The contractor could’ve suggested that over the phone based on what we told them was happening because we had hot water everywhere but that one faucet and they came out to turn the screw it themselves.

We’ll submit it again.” I waited and about two days ago I called again. I called American Home Shield this time because no one has contacted me. They had me on hold for about 15 minutes and then they got on and had this whole story about the fact that the contractor had not submitted the information until x date.
AHS had parts coming in on another date and this is how they set it up. The contractor can decide when they come out. I had two items and two sets of parts that came in on different days. So even though the contractors could’ve come out and fixed one of my appliances weeks ago, because the other item just arrived last weekend, the contractor has the ability to just wait and consolidate and come out when they want. I still haven’t had anybody call me and I just had a conversation with AHS on Monday.
No one has called even if it’s just to update people to say “We actually have the parts but the contractor has made the determination to not come out until May whatever." And as far as the microwave is concerned, AHS said the contractor is not responsible for that. I have to call AHS's parts department and I was on hold for half an hour and no answer. It was like a continuous loop. And I haven’t had an opportunity to call them back again. What’s the point of getting the warranty if it takes two months to fix the microwave or the stove, or the water dispenser. They have the parts at least for the two items and now I’m just waiting. I don’t know if it’s the contractor's or AHS’s fault, or both. But in the midst of everything, I'm paying on a monthly basis to have this coverage but I'm not getting the benefit of it.
I’ve only been covered about two months and this is the first time I submitted a claim. With AHS, it doesn’t really matter. It’s not like you have to be covered for a year before you get any type of service and I was quite pleased with that. But there has been nothing since then and I’m not pleased. So far, we’ve been working with two burners out of four burners we got on the stove. It’s getting to the point now wherein if it’s not fixed by mid-May, that would prompt me to do a Consumer Affairs type report. But right now, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. A social media specialist will follow up with you as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

We were having a problem with backup in the bathroom and I called American Home Shield either Friday night or Saturday morning. The claim was taken care of very quickly, but they didn’t tell the contractor Wolfe Plumbing that it was an emergency and that I was handicapped so couldn’t go upstairs to use the upstairs bathroom. It was a miscommunication between American Home Shield and Wolfe Plumbing. They got here on Monday and the guy from Wolfe apologized immensely. He said he was so sorry and that he didn’t know it was an emergency.
The plumbers thought they had cleared the problem and then they came back. It ended up being the septic tank. Wolfe Plumbing was great but the guy from the septic tank company that they sent out said he can’t find the septic tank. The guy started then said he was so exhausted, so my son told him to get out of the way and he did it. It was my son who found the septic tank. The guy pumped it, but he left without filling the hole and so my son had to fill the holes. Yet that wasn’t American Home Shield’s fault.
Everything has been fine and working great since the repair. We just bought the house almost two years ago and we had talked about having somebody to come out to check the septic right after we moved in the house because we didn’t know how long it had been here. And then all these happened and I’m glad we have American Home Shield now. American Home Shield is a good company to have. Unfortunately, I just canceled my contract with them yesterday because my son’s gonna be in the residence and I’m moving out.

When our furnace was making noise, I went online and filed a claim with American Home Shield and the process was okay. There was a scheduled time for the contractor to come, which was a period of time in the afternoon and he did not come. And he was supposed to have been here by 4 o'clock, and at 4 o'clock, he called and said he was running late, and he would be here by 8 o'clock pm. So, I was disappointed that he waited so late to tell me that he was gonna be late. He should have told me sooner. And I waited and waited but he did show up several hours later and worked on the furnace. My husband said our furnace is making a new noise now, but we haven't submitted another claim.
Also, I had an ice maker that had problems and I had to call back that guy at least three times. I had to make a phone call to American Shield because I couldn't go online and do it. And each time, I had to wait a solid hour on the line, which is my biggest frustration with American Home Shield. With my furnace, I need to get the guy back out here without being charged another $100. I have to call American Home Shield and get them to set up a call back without charge. And I have to stay on hold for an hour, before someone can help me, and that is horrendous. And I've had to do that a few times.
Hi, Dawn. We know that the hold time has been a big issue in the past year. Huge strides are being made to make sure our call centers are fully staffed to answer those calls in a short period of time. Please let us know if we need to send a tech back out to your home.

I have waited 3+ weeks to be reimbursed for the $400+ dollars I had to pay out of pocket to my plumbing company. American Home Shield took a week plus to NOT put me in contact to one of their contractors. Every time I called they informed me that it usually takes between 24-48 hrs to be matched with a contractor... after it had already been a week. They finally offered to authorize me to use my own contractor and be reimbursed by them. So I got my plumber over to do the work and they have been unable to settle the reimbursement OR give me ANY kind of communication.
I have called them every few days and I am always told I will be called back in 24-48 hrs. I have yet to receive one phone call or email from them regarding my case. I have spoke with the general line, the authorization center, as well as the online chat with no luck. Today I called and asked to speak with a supervisor... and guess what?! They can call me back in 24-48 hrs!! What a waste of time and money! DO NOT BUY!!

We have been customers with American Home Shield since August of 2017. At first when we made a claim they were very responsive. That changed in 2018. First we had a problem with our dryer. We filed a claim like we always do, online. We were assigned to a company to fix the dryer. After hearing nothing from them, I tried to call them only to learn they had a voicemail that was not set up. The following day I called again. The person answering the phone did to identify themselves and I was unsure if I had reached the company. When I finally got someone on the phone who did know what was going on, they told me they had a procedure scheduled and would not be available for yet another day.
After this I called American Home Shield back and told them I needed a company who would be able to get out to our house. They called another company and assured us that they would be at our house on the next day. We cancelled plans for the next day and waited for them to arrive. An hour after they were supposed to arrive we got a call saying that there had been confusion and that they would not be able to come until after the weekend. I called AHS and their answer was to pay for the service calls... after the weekend. At that point we took care of the problem by calling someone ourselves.
Now our hot water heater is out and once again AHS is unable to get someone out here until after the weekend. I was told that being without hot water wasn't an emergency to the company. Well, I called a local plumber who came out and fixed the problem. Funny that I could find someone but this large company could not. Maybe they need to contract with more available contractors. I was called once by a supervisor, I returned the call but was never contacted again. I have had problems with AHS returning phone calls. If this service continues, I will not be using AHS after our contract runs out.

American Home Shield used to be a good home warranty service. In the last 3-4 years it has become a service that is not worth the price. The last two service calls we had thru AHS, the contractor came out, looked at the covered unit or appliance for 5 minutes, and said they could not fix it. First one was a leaky dishwasher (which was actually REPLACED by AHS about 8 years ago!), which they said was improperly installed. Second was a leaking garbage disposal, which the contractor came out TWICE and did nothing... After the request to AHS clearly spelled out a garbage disposal problem. How hard is it for them to put one in the truck on the first call?

I called AHS 2 weeks after not hearing from anyone, I was told a part has been ordered. I told them that is not the recommendation I received. They tell me the part needed is on back order and they do not have control over that. Poor customer service. Meanwhile they collected $100 deductible way back in January. They do not have ETA as to when part will come in. It's been 4 months. Work is not done.

AHS new policy is to make you pay the $75 before the contractor even comes to the house. Due to phone issues, we never got the message the contractor was on his way, and was not able to get there in time, and they took the $75 without stepping in the house. So, we tried to reschedule, and we are unable to unless we pay ANOTHER $75. Called AHS to see if they could just open a new request and they said no without another $75.
When you place a request, they do not even ask when it would be convenient for you, they just make it and think you will be there. I had to call to cancel and make an appointment when I could get off of work, and they scheduled it at 10-2pm! How is that convenient for anyone that works? But that was the closest time that would fit my schedule. So my dishwasher is still not fixed.
Another time the AHS contractor was to fix a fan, but looked at it and the remote, and stated it is not a warranty issue, it is the wrong remote, and that is why it didn't work, and left, again with the $75. I got another contractor out there from AHS, and they fixed it without a problem. The good contractor said that it was confusing because the fan name, and the remote name was different because it was bought out and that was why the names didn't match.
So, if they are going to have sketchy contractors that do not want to fix warranty clients, they just take the $75 and leave and give any excuse they want. Easy money for 10 min of work! It was nice back even a year ago because I didn't have to pay the $75 until the issue was actually fixed, not just relying on the contractor to just take the money and leave. Last time I paid AHS to get my dishwasher fixed, it was just broken glass that previous owner had left in the bottom of the dishwasher, and he told me to go buy some dishwasher cleanser (he didn't even provide it for me, and do it while he was there). Yes it fixed the problem, but he got $75 dollars for that. Now, AHS wants me to pay $150 for something that might be that quick and easy? Yes, I'm very dissatisfied.
I understand your frustration with the new policy that requires American Home Shield to collect the service fee before the issue is diagnosed. I would be glad to speak with you and discuss a resolution to the most recent service fees.

I've left 3 messages with the contractor and he won't return my call. I paid the deductible of $109 and all I have to show for it is a broken washing machine. Maybe it's not American Home Sheild's fault but they could at least answer the phone or provide an e-mail address so I could notify them and maybe get this rectified. I'm hoping that by writing this review they will make an effort to contact me.
I understand your concerns about the delay in service you have experienced to have your washing machine repaired. The service fee is due at the initial point of service in order to diagnose the problem. I would be glad to speak with you and help resolve the ongoing issue.

We have a Wolf range that has an oven and a cooktop together. It has a convection and a regular oven and the oven just stopped working on both sides. My husband called American Home Shield to file a claim. The process was very easy and within two days, a contractor was sent out. They called very quickly and made the appointment. They were here on time and did a good job.
We were without an oven for a few days because the contractor had to call Wolf to get the part but we expected it. The oven and the cooktop were apart and they were on the floor of the garage. The contractor called us as soon as the part came in. They came back out, put the oven and cooktop together and the ovens worked just fine. Unfortunately, because it was old, there were some seals that were really dry because it was such high heat. When they put it back together again, we didn’t know that those seals weren’t sealing anymore. So, the gas was coming out from the burners, in places that the flame was coming out, from places that the flame was not supposed to come out of. We called the contractor and they said, “Call American Home Shield and set it up for a new call in case we need to get new pieces. Otherwise, we're coming out to check it out.”
So, the contractor came out and took the top part apart which wasn’t part of the original problem. They ordered the part and the part came right in. AHS paid them and it worked very well. When the contractor was here, he turned the range on and off but we weren’t expecting that there was anything wrong with the top because that hadn’t been part of the problem but it was clear once he took it apart that they had just disintegrated. Nevertheless, it has been a wonderful experience. American Home Shield is really good.
Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience Anne. We really appreciate you being apart of the AHS family. Have an amazing week.

Instead of going to the manufacturer warranty, using American Home Shield is the best avenue to leverage. I've never had any issues with scheduling online, the vendors, the relationships and the timely response. Everything's been perfect and positive.
This year, I already did 3 claims and the last one was for an ice maker. The parts within the freezer on the ice maker was rusty. Submitting a claim online was very easy and American Home Shield reached out within 12 hours from the on-time of the claim. The contractor kept me up to date when the part was ordered and then basically scheduled the appointment within 48 hours after receiving the part. He was very professional, polite, and courteous. It was a small job so he was only here for about 25 minutes. He completed the warranty work and the ice maker is now functioning as expected.

The plumbers were responsive but it bothered me that they charged me extra. They had to adapt the water heater that they put in to the plumbing of the water heater that they took out. So, they charged me for actually doing their job. The plumbers wanted to get a credit card upfront and I said “No.” I told them that they had to perform first. AHS should tighten up on their contractors. They should regulate the financial arrangements that the contractors provide. They’re handing the work to the contractors and have influenced that type of situation. The incidental cost charged by a supplier should not exceed the amount of the deductible paid by the customer.
Also before this, I had a refrigerator that went out that AHS chose to either replace or give me money. When I got the fridge, I sent them the receipt. When I put the AC on cool, it’s not cooling and it would still be blowing hot air. They changed the valve on the unit outside and that would have worked. The valve wasn't checking over. The first part that they ordered was the wrong one. After they got the second part, that's what fixed it. It didn’t take them long to get the job done. It was 45 minutes at the most from the time he got here until he left. Since then, the AC has been working great. It’s a good selling feature ‘cause I know I bought the house with it and I kept the program going. It gives you peace of mind and it’s good to have while you have your house.

My washing machine was making a horrible noise. The technician sent by AHS came out in two days and they were great. They analyzed the situation, gave me a brief rundown of what was going on and told me the bearings were bad. They also told me that it would probably be cheaper to replace the washing machine but it depended on what AHS wanted to do. And to their surprise, AHS wanted to fix it, which resulted in a week delay in getting all the parts in. Then they came out and they had to completely disassemble the washing machine, replace the drum and all the bearings and then put the washing machine back, which was about a 5-hour process. It would have been cheaper for AHS to replace the washing machine, but our washing machine is working so I have no complaints. I’ve already recommended AHS to all my friends.

We had an AC claim less than two days ago and that was completed and done. The contractor came in within a couple of days and got everything handled. I also had a plumbing issue and the experience was great as well. However, when I submit a claim, the options aren't specific enough. So, when I submitted my claim for the washer or dryer, I couldn't specify that the problem was the hot side of the washing machine because there was no way to put that into the actual request.
Given the options, I just put there a pipe leaking and then I needed my faucet fixed. So the technician got there and said that as far as he could see, I was only into the faucet as that was all that was listed in the claim, and so he wouldn't be able to touch the washing machine. So, the contractor had to come back out the second time, but it's the same thing. It was corrected without an issue and I didn't have to pay an extra deductible. They came out two or three times after to get the job done. But since the repair, everything has been working great. I'd probably renew with American Home Shield. It's been worth it for me.

He looked at the dryer and he said that he didn't have the part and that he'll get back to me in a little bit. He left and he tracked down a co-worker who happened to have the part in his truck. A couple of hours later, he came back and put the part in. Everything has been fine since the repair. Our other home was with another warranty company and we would switch over to American Home Shield as soon as our contract was over because we really like their performance.

I had a plumbing problem in my bathroom. I called American Home Shield and I said I needed a plumber, and I had excellent communication with their rep. The contractor came over and fixed my bathroom. It went wonderfully and they were very professional. The bathroom has been fine since the repair except that it seemed like when he left, my kitchen sink got clogged so I was a little concerned.
I have also called American Home Shield to have an air conditioning representative come out to review my docks and clean everything up. I didn't realize that it's not part of the coverage and no one bothered mentioning it. American Home Shield should have disclosed that while I was on the phone despite the fact that it is in my contract. I made an appointment, I told their rep what I needed, but she didn't disclose that. As a result, I had someone come to my house and I spent $150 for absolutely no service at all. So I asked AHS to close my account. I would not recommend them to a friend. Make sure you know what you're signing up for and make it clear what you need. Read the contract carefully because they don't give you any leeway.

I've had two different situations going on, one being the leak underneath my sink in my kitchen. I spoke with someone from AHS, and though I wanted to speak to a supervisor, I found it difficult for that to happen. They said they needed to get some information and I gave them that. Once I got through to somebody, she said that it's their policy to resend the same plumber out to the job, which was fine. I wanted to request a different tech, but the one that came was very professional.
My biggest concern with American Home Shield is with the two people that have helped me with my washer and dryer in the plumbing situation. I've had to have them come out more than one time since the issue wasn't resolved the first time they came out. And so, I kept having to pay extra fees. I paid American Home Shield a lot of money for the techs to come out and have the thing fixed. When I had to call somebody to come back out again, it was a bit much. The plumbers just came back out last night, and they're coming back out this morning. I'm waiting on them to come now for a different part.
Having a warranty has been beneficial, but I didn't realize when I got AHS that I was gonna have the $75 co-pay every time. I just moved into a new place and I feel like multiple things are happening at one time. And so every time, I'm having to keep paying a $75. Also, every time I try to call and ask somebody an explanation for what it's for, they have a very hard time looking it up in the computer and finding that information. So they can't tell me what my service was.

I bought the house at the end of March. We moved in and none of the ceiling fans or the lights upstairs worked. Submitting the claim to American Home Shield went well but getting my issue fixed was different. We've had two different people out and it's still not resolved. The company that first came out really didn't seem to give any two cents about anything. The electrician pretty much did nothing and he wasn't here very long. They said they were gonna cut into the walls and start in my master bedroom. I'm like, "So you're pretty much gonna start in my master bedroom and cut until you find where the issue is? No. This doesn't make sense."
I called AHS and I let them know that I need a second opinion. I was not just gonna have somebody cut into my walls when he was here for only 20 minutes. They sent out a second contractor and this guy was here for a few hours. He took down all my fixtures and the ceiling fan stuff. He was using something on the wall to try to find the electrical stuff between the walls. He found the spot and told me he was gonna cut between two of the bedroom walls and I said, "Okay." But he said it had to go through AHS first to get approved to see if anything was covered. And he said, "I don't believe that they cover for us to re-patch the holes or paint the walls. I think you're gonna have to cover that." I said that was no problem and that I understood. Then, he said that somebody will contact me in the next 48 hours to let me know from American Home Shield but nothing ever happened.
AHS didn't care and I'm not happy so I didn't even call back. I paid out of my pocket for a second opinion, so that shows that I'm willing to pay the money because I paid another $75 on top of what I already paid. And it's not about the money. I just want the problem resolved. But I don't feel that I should have to contact them. It was AHS that's supposed to be contacting me to let me know what now is gonna be the next step. I did my part.
Hi Nicole,
I understand your concerns with the work that needed to be done to repair your ceiling fans. Also, I would be glad to speak with you and reimburse the service fee.

We had heating and air and plumbing issues and filed a claim with American Home Shield. We had a home inspection done by the Buyers’ Inspection Group in Greenville to make sure there weren’t any major problems with the home. We had that report made available to interested parties including the people that have a contract about the house. But they also got their own inspector and their own inspector was the one who supposedly found a slight leak under the sink so they said that they want to have it fixed. Caroline, our real estate agent was the one who has handled all of this for us but I was there to let the guy from Rapp's in the house, cut the alarm off and show him where the supposed leak was.
The contractor looked under the kitchen sink and cut on the water, so that water was flowing into both drains of the two sinks there and he kept the water running. And then he went under the house that’s a fairly tall crawl space and asked me to tap so he’d be sure to get to the right place. But then he didn’t have any trouble getting to the right place anyway because it was obvious where it was. He said he couldn't find any leak. There was no dampness and the ground was dry. So I figured this sort of thing happens sometimes and we were surprised that there was nothing that he could find to fix. We got a report from Rapp's and if some leak shows up again, they can come back out there within 60 days and the situation would be the same.
It was disappointing that whatever the inspector sent by Buyers’ Inspection Group saw couldn’t be repaired because we couldn’t find any problem. But the experience with all the people was wonderful. They were very prompt and very courteous. The part that we were puzzled with doesn’t have anything to do with American Home Shield or with Rapp's. And I know the realtors like to work with American Home Shield so that’s good.

This is the 3rd time we have had to use this warranty on our AC. We live in the desert, and in the summer it is incredibly hot. We turned on our request for service on 4/19/2018. It is now 5/3/2018 and the company, Anthem, that the AHS gave us as a servicer has just told us the part was ordered today and it is 7 to 10 business day to get the part... It will end up taking us a month to get this fixed and we are still out the AC for another 2 weeks. The forecast here is 106 on Sunday and have no idea how to live with no AC. AHS is not helping at all with this. I am very unhappy, again, at this point. Not the first time unfortunately.
I understand your concerns about the delay in service that you have experienced to have your air conditioner unit repaired. I would like to speak with you and assist with getting the repairs completed soon.

I had a water leak in my AC and the techs were really good and very knowledgeable because it's not a normal type of air conditioner. Instead of having the air over the condenser, it's water, so a pump pumps water to the air conditioner and then, it pumps out. Where the water pumps out was leaking, and they fixed that problem. And then, it started freezing up and needed some coolant, so they came right back up and fixed it, and it has been great.
I called the claim in with American Home Shield. I normally would have done it online but I had several issues. I had some electrical issues as well and they had assigned me a company. When I hung up the phone with the lady, who was fantastic, I called the company and the guy that answered the phone said that they normally get back within 24-hours. So, I waited seven days but never heard anything. I logged on and it said that they made multiple attempts. But they never called so I sent the guy an email and gave him all of my information and they said that they left me messages. When I called back to get a different electrician to come out, I said that they’re more than welcome to listen to my voicemails because there was none on here. He responded back and he wanted my address and phone number. I gave it to him but never heard from him again.
There was another one that they called and it was called Dynamic. Those guys said they would be here between 8:00 and 12:00, and 10 minutes until 8:00, they called to see if we were up. I said I've been up since 5:00 and he said that they were in our driveway. They had all the issues fixed. There were also some that weren't covered in the contract and they pointed it out to me. I said that when I’m ready to spend $800 or $900 to get all the other stuff, I'll be calling them because they were very knowledgeable. The AC has been working fine so far.
I'm constantly coming across other little issues that pop up and in fact, I wasn't gonna keep the warranty because it came with the house when I bought it. I wasn't gonna keep it for the fact that my ice maker didn't work, so I called them and the guy said that the reason my ice maker wasn't working was that the water was turned off. He turned the water back on and there was a piece that he had to replace. I gave him the $75 and he went on about his business. I got up the next day and my kitchen was flooded and I was wondering where the water was coming from. I’m a disabled vet and I had to get down under the sink and turn it off. If he turned the water on, he should have checked to make sure that it wasn't turned off for a reason. I had to pay another $75 to have a plumber come and put a new line in.
When American Home Shield called to talk to me about renewing my policy, I told them I had no intentions of doing that because I paid another $75 on a project that should have been fixed in the first place. And now, I'm gonna have to spend another $200-$300 to fix all the cabinets, so I wasn’t really happy about it. But American Home Shield gave me a month free and partial month to keep the policy, so that reimbursed me the $75. The only thing I have to do is pay to put new cabinets in or the insides of new cabinets. I will now keep the policy. I didn't use it much because I was so upset, but I have called them this time and I have been happy.

Every time I have to take off for someone to come out, I'm losing a half day's pay. I could've simply bought a new unit. Also, the duct for my air conditioning sweats when it's running and it drips. The tech said that he couldn't cut into my wall to get at the duct work and he recommended to have an installation company come in and blow installation, but AHS was not gonna pay for that. I had my wife call American Home Shield about our air-conditioner. My wife deals with the submissions of the claim but I have a little gripe or beef. A while back, I had a phone call and the woman said I needed to renew my insurance that time. I said I didn’t really need it and she explained what the insurance covered. I had a plumbing issue in a wall and it's usually accessible right through under the kitchen sink. But a plumber came out and told me that he couldn't do anything with it. It was either we're going to have to tear the outside wall of our household or remove our counter top or cabinets. What kind of crap is that? If the plumber can't come out and fix it without me having to remove a whole wall or vinyl siding or removing my counter top and cabinets just so he can get to it, then I don’t really think it makes sense for me having the warranty. And I paid for it every month.
So, that's something that maybe needs to be brought up in the future when American Home Shield will have their meetings. If they're not going to cover the damage and the people are going to pay for it, then why even pay for the warranty? And I told this to the man on the phone and I apologized at the time for being really angry. I felt bad about it after I got through hanging up because the rep had no idea what's going on anyway and they were just doing a follow-up. Meanwhile, because I threw a big old hissy fit, I had no paperwork to sign for me to know what American Home Shield actually covers. I could have done the plumbing repair by myself but I was working long hours and didn’t have time to do it and it was leaking down the side of my wall and in my house every time we used the sink. It looked very simple but eventually, the plumber didn’t want the job.
That incident needs to be said out loud or needs to be in writing and when people purchase American Home Shield, they need to have all the facts because it's a waste of American Home Shield's time and it's a waste of my time. But as far as our last recent visit from the AC contractor, that man was very respectable and very professional. He came out and did his job and it was over with. As far as the last experience, I would recommend something like that to one of my friends. But the first experience, as far as plumbing goes, no.

I just purchased my house and there was a slight crack that came up on a piece of the pool equipment. So, I made the claim to American Home Shield. The representatives organized it and they ended up emailing me or texting me the contact of who would be calling me. I worked with whoever they were contracted with directly from there. The claim was authorized so quickly and the technician was out within a few days. He was able to replace the part that needed to be replaced and have it installed quickly. The repair was fine. So far, the pool equipment is working. It was a very good experience.

The baseboard on both sides of the wall starting from my laundry room going to the other side to where the entryway is, was pulling away from the wall. The house has the red and blue hoses that run through the house for plumbing and it looked like it had to do with moisture or water leak as it was right there at the control panel where all of the plumbing was.
I did a claim with American Home Shield online and it was pretty quick. The website was easy to navigate. Although the first time I submitted the request, it didn't really go through 'cause I was waiting for a few days to get a call back and I didn't get one, the second time that I submitted it, it went through just fine. The contractor was good and honest. I was told that he would call whenever he was en route and about 15 or 20 minutes away, he did. He looked at the concern but he said that there was nothing with the plumbing that was causing me issues, so I don't know why my wall is doing that.

My overall experience with American Home Shield has been mixed. I was very happy with our Sub-Zero refrigerator, but I had a couple of instances with our air conditioning were I was very unhappy. We moved into a home that was redone 20 years ago with a lot of luxury items. It has a Sub-Zero refrigerator that's been problematic and has been worked on many times and was worked on most recently by the guy AHS hired. I've submitted claims both online and over the phone. In this instance, it was online and it was painless. It worked that I was happy. The telephone people are nice but sometimes it was hard for us to get through on the phone.
AHS sent a good contractor who knew the product. But in the past, AHS had sometimes sent out contractors who didn't know the luxury item. It's a crazy expensive Sub-Zero refrigerator and so, they vastly improved the people they're sending out. He fixed one broken problem but there was another, so he has to come back out a second time. But they were very responsive and good about that.

I had a plumbing issue and I never had a problem submitting a claim to AHS. It always works well and they have fast service. A line stopped up and the contractor they sent got it undone. It took him a while to figure it out, but he was an awesome person and he did a good job. I was outside with him the whole time and he was just a very nice person, a good Christian guy. He also seemed to really know what he was doing. I would use him for anything. I always tell people if they’re looking for something, I like American Home Shield. I’ve always had good experience with them.

Having an American Home Shield warranty on my property is nice. I went online and submitted my claim on an ice maker, and the website was fine. It took two days to get a technician out, and he was great, helpful and understood what the problem was quickly. But, the repair hasn’t been done yet. We’ve been trying to get a hold of the company and they haven’t gotten the part in and it’s been about a month now.

There was an electronic board that went out in the control unit of our furnace. The furnace wouldn’t ignite. When we’d have it come on it was quick. It was like it would try to ignite and the thing would shut it down immediately. I called AHS and they sent a contractor to come fix it. The tech went and got another board for it from the dealership here in Tulsa. The furnace was still under warranty, so the only cost was the $75 I had to pay to AHS. The furnace works great now. AHS was very nice, professional and did a good job. They were very responsive and I would recommend using AHS especially in this day and age when you don’t know what you’re getting. We were very pleased.
Hi Art,
We are glad the technician was able to diagnose the issue and replace the electronic board within 24 hours. We aim to provide you with the best customer service and contractors that can exceed yo9ur expectations. Also, we hope that you continue to have a good experience!

We live in a neighborhood wherein because of the old piping, it gets a little stoppage through there from time to time. We had a stoppage back in October and PC Plumbing stopped it in 20 minutes, which was really fast. The guy was wonderful, pleasant and didn't make excuses. Then when I called AHS again, a different plumber came out. He was from City Plumbing and I didn't think he really wanted to work. He didn't want to look and had an excuse for all areas. He couldn't even go through because his equipment was too big. He quoted me $950, which wasn’t gonna be covered, and he told me that it was not his fault, but AHS'. So I said “I’ve never had any problems with American Shield before," then asked him to just do what he had to do.
I then called AHS and they were wonderful and responded very quickly. I asked for the plumber that I got back in October and he came out. He went right through the one area that he explained where they went through last time, unclogged the stoppage immediately and then it was fine. Overall, AHS has been wonderful. In fact, I've recommended them to a friend.
Charla,
We would like to thank you for the feedback and recommendations to American Home Shield. We are glad that the last plumber was able to come out and quickly diagnose the issue. We hope that you continue to have a good experience!

The heat pump on my air conditioner wasn't working right. The first time around, the first guy American Home Shield sent out did not install one of the items properly. And the Freon leaked out, which I had paid over $650 and have it repaired. I got to talk to the first guy they sent a little because he came back three times. He told me he was a handyman for 15 years now. But evidently, he did not know how to install the item properly. The technician had to come back and another gentleman came in. He knew what he was doing and did it properly. He had to go in and put in two things, a new switch and a new expansion switch so that it would turn off and work properly. It's been working fine since that particular time and they didn't charge me the second time.
Now, I had a water heater replaced and the people that did that came out and did the job. However, they did not have an electrical person come out to do the electrical hookup so the person that did it didn't do it properly. I had them to come out and redo that. I lost a box that I had on it that turned the electrical switch on and off, so I didn't have the electricity running on the water heater 24 hours. They had to take that off to put in the line properly 'cause they did finally send an electrician out to redo it. And then, it was okay and the permit that they pulled and everything were okay on it so that finally got done.
But the water heater they put in doesn't make a lot of hot water and it's good for two showers. I have a jacuzzi tub and I could fill it up, but it runs out of hot water before it fills up. It's a regular size tub too so I don't know if there's something wrong with the water heater they put in or the jacuzzi's just too small, but it looked like it was the same size as the other one. But the water heater's functional and I guess that's the way it is when it comes to changing water heaters. These were the only two bad incidences I've had with AHS. But they've been out here for my refrigerator and there was no problem. And any time I've called, I've really not had any problems except when I ended up to call back for the water heater people to come out 'cause they kept putting me off to come out. But it got done. It just took a long time to get them done properly and I just got to be aggressive to get the people out here to do the job and to do it right.

My washing machine was leaking and so I called American Home Shield. Whenever I've had interactions with a couple of service reps, it has always been good. I called one day within the week and the tech came mid-day. The tech who came was pleasant and he did what he needed to do. He wasn't in depth. He was nice enough and not trying to be funny, though there may have been a language barrier there slightly. Nevertheless, after the repair, I've had no more issue and everything is going well. If I didn't have American Home Shield, I would have had to pay the bulk of the part that had to be fixed. So it has been very helpful in saving money.

In January, my hot water tank went out so I called AHS and it took the contractor, Northwest Sundance out of Portland, Oregon, till February to get out here to look at it. They fixed it and they charged me $175 for a permit that was $50, and I never got the permit. The contractor brought the water heater. It did not have any stickers on it or registration. It looks like it was a reject. So, I kept calling because they said, “Oh, all that stuffed in the truck.” So I called the next day and their rep said, “Oh, we will send it out.” Well, this was February 8th and I’ve got it all written down. And for the next eight weeks, I called. “Oh, we’ll get it out to you. It’s in your file.” And then I called back and she said, “Well, I don’t know who told you that. I think you misunderstood.” I said, “Then let’s get it out there.”
Finally, two months later, I called and left a message because they wouldn’t even return my calls. I said, “I’m going to the Better Business Bureau.” Well sure enough, the very next morning at 8:30, they had someone pick up a permit and pay for it in the Camas and bring it out. I said, “You didn’t have this. What was Camas’ fault?” “The system was down.” I said, “For eight weeks?” So anyway, I went down and ordered the inspection because I knew they weren’t gonna do that either and the guy comes right out and says the system even got a pass. They use their own type of exhaust. They have dryer exhaust on this and the inside of another type of exhaust, he said, “It didn’t even pass. It’s a hazard. I hope you have a carbon monoxide detector.”
My husband know all this. And so, they sent a guy out to fix it from the same place and he said, “I don’t even know Camas Code.” I said, “Fine. Let me get the inspector out here and he can tell you.” And the Camas inspector came right out and told him exactly what he needed to do and he said, “It’s finished. It’s done. You call me and I’ll be out to inspect it.” The first time they came out, they sent a guy and the other guy didn’t show up. He hung around for an hour or two. I asked and he said, “We’ll all come back when he’s here.” They were here all day till 9 o’clock at night. Then the other guy left.
My experience has been horrible. Their office lied to me. The contractor did get it fixed and the inspector came right out. The inspector in Camas were great to work with and it did pass after they redid that. It was for another four hours or so. AHS couldn’t believe it and they said, “We’ll put this on the files.” I’m a real estate broker and I called my salesman from AHS and let him know too and said, “Yes, we’ve had a lot of complaints about that company.”
I’m thinking why are you still using them? It was the most frustrating thing I’ve ever gone through and usually, American Home Shield is so good, but it was horrible especially when I had written notes on everything they said and they said, “Oh, you must misunderstood.” I said, “You had that permit before you started the job, which is when you should’ve got it.” “Oh, yes. It’s in your file.” And Camas told me they never even came in until two months after it was installed to even pick it up and that’s because I threatened them with the Better Business Bureau
When I call AHS for something, I’d be on the phone sometimes for an hour on hold. But it has gotten better and my inspector and everybody tells me that they are the best company that they’ve had to deal with. Some of the others must be awful. But, if you get a contractor like Northwest Sundance and I’ve recommended that company to them, they’re gonna look at me and say, “Boy, why did you do this? Why did you tell us to get American Home Shield and this is what we had to put up with?”

My hot water heater built up too much pressure and was spraying water everywhere and about to explode when I cut my water main and contact AHS. I pay for the highest level of warranty. They reached out to a plumbing company that took hours to call me back and when they did, they never showed up AT ALL. When I called AHS to get help they put me on a 45 minute hold while they tried to contact the company. When I expressed the need to get a new plumbing company they said it would delay my service even longer, after I took a day off work all while explaining that I don't have water in my house at all and I have water damage and someone needs to come quickly. The service rep was super unhelpful and borderline rude. Unbelievable to me how this company is even in business.
I understand your concerns about the delay in service you encountered to have your hot water heater repaired. I would be glad to speak with you and help resolve the claim with your only water source.

I been paying for almost 2 years now and when my laundry room bathroom and kitchen sink backed up I called American Home Shield. It took 2 days to get someone out. I wasn't too happy. I took the day off from work to wait for them and when he arrived he said that he only had one item on his list and that was the sink. I said, "No. It's two items the sink and toilet." He then made some phone calls and 30 min later he said that they will send out another technician tomorrow. I said, "What are you talking about? I took today off just for you to tell me you can't do it?"
At this point I was furious so I called AHS and they told me they are looking for someone else and would have to send out another technician to do the work because the last one didn't have the equipment. I get paid almost 300 dollars a day from work and now I have to take another day off which will cost me 600. I could of just hired someone to do the damn work. So the new technician I got online and 3 wayed AHS because they said the work order they got was only for the kitchen sink. I think I'm down with American Home Shield and I should sue for lost wages. SMH. They got a broken process and need to address it asap. What a waste of money.
I understand your concerns about the loss of wages you have encountered and the delay in service to have your toilet and kitchen sink repaired. I would be glad to speak with you and help get the issues resolved.

About an hour later, I got a confirmation and the next day, I had a phone call from the repair service. It was very easy and quick. However, the contractor had to come out about four times. The first guy didn't diagnose the issue correctly. The part that he ordered was wrong, and then when the other guy came to bring the part, that guy realized it was another part. And then, when the other guy put that part on, it was something else. So I had three parts ordered for my washer. But they completed the order and I've been using my washer for two weeks now.
