I submitted a claim with American Home Shield for some plumbing work for a leak in the shower. Their website was very good and the process I had to follow was very convenient. Plus, I'm extremely satisfied with my interactions with the plumber. They had to go there four times in order to get the job done because we had to do some work prior to them finishing the job, but they were very patient and cooperative. So far, all my experiences with AHS is superb and I would highly recommend them to anybody.

I had a clogged showerhead and a dripping faucet in the master. The kitchen faucet too was kinda clogged so I went to American Home Shield’s website to file a claim. It was good navigating through their website and when I put in a claim, I get an email right back. But it was frustrating trying to talk to a live person. There are some things that are not on their website to ask, like about a claim. Also, where do I click for a clogged showerhead on their website? There’s nothing there. Every time I try and call to ask questions I get disconnected. They need to answer the phone. People are on hold for 45 minutes. One time, it was two hours, and the lady said, “Hello?” And it was a question about my air conditioning and then she hung up on me.

I had a claim for a microwave put in but AHS would not replace it. They replaced the parts but the control panel was not fixed. The parts came in six weeks and the microwave worked but now, the control panel is acting up. It just shuts itself down and I can see it soon that it is not gonna work. I had to call AHS and they said that I had to redo a claim. So, I went online and tried to do something. It says there to let them know for any problem but there was nothing and it just brings me to pay the 100 bucks for the guy to come out. I did not want to do it at that time. I was on the phone in 15 minutes and they kept asking me every single time.

But when I filed the claim for the shower on a Saturday, a contractor came in contact with me that Monday. They fixed it and since it was a simple thing, there were no parts to order. He unclogged the showerhead and put a seal in the master. He also put a seal in the dripping faucet and unclogged the kitchen faucet. I was very happy with the contractors and their company.

I had a very bad experience with American Home Shield. A pipe in the house burst and so I called them and submitted a claim. I asked them if they could expedite the repair, and they did. They sent a guy from iPlumb in the evening who tore up our ceiling and told us that they don't cover burst pipes. I asked him what I should do and he told me that he could fix the problem for me at a decent amount. I was desperate then because we hadn't had water all day as I turned it off and it was the weekend the next day, so I told him to fix the problem.

The next day I called American Home Shield and they told me that they would note everything down and then they would call me back. They didn't. I called them and they told me that they would look into the issue. I told the rep that that was not the answer I was waiting for and that it took so long and nobody answered me. I asked what the information was, what I could do and if they could reimburse me the money. The rep told me that what happened wasn't covered because that was what iPlumb told them. I asked for a supervisor but the supervisor told me the same thing. She also told me that my house is very old when it's not. It's only 13 years old and I bought it new.

This is very wrong. American Home Shield should reimburse me because it was an emergency and I was desperate. It wasn't something that can wait like a washing machine, where they could tell me I would have to wait for four days and it's gonna be okay. It was a burst pipe, water burst and there was no hot water in the house. American Home Shield should have considered it that way. All my relatives have an American Home Shield warranty and they will know what happened.

Our new refrigerator kept tripping the breaker every so many minutes, so we needed American Home Shield to have someone come out and take a look at it. Filing a claim with them was super easy and definitely very simple. Within the next half hour, the contractor called me and the service was easy to schedule. Two guys came out. One of them was helping and the other guy was performing the work. They were very easy to talk to. They explained everything well. I asked them questions and they were responsive and looked me in the eye. They were able to fix it very quickly.

My hot water heater tripped. I called American Home Shield for a claim and they sent someone out on the very same day. I could not stay home if the heater wasn’t gonna be repaired immediately. The fact that someone could come out the exact same day that I made the claim and fix it very quickly meant that I did not have to be inconvenienced by moving myself and my child anywhere else. The claims representative I talked over the phone to was very professional and courteous. I tried to get the repair added to another claim that I had coming for the same day, but they couldn’t do it because it was an appliance claim.

So then I got a phone call from the plumbing company. I was still at work when I made the claim and they called me almost immediately after I put in the claim. He offered to meet me at my house when I got off because he would be in the area. He was very timely and professional when he got there and he answered all of my questions. On top of doing the actual repair, he showed me where the thermostat was and told me other things that I could do because my hot water temperature was low and that was what tripped it. He told me a bunch of stuff about how he was repairing it and what I needed to do next time, so I could do it myself if I did not want to make a call.

I had purchased a condo with a washer and dryer. It was working at one point, then the whole thing was shaking and I couldn’t use it. I went through the whole claim process and a woman named Holly handled the claim. It took a little while, but everything went smoothly and there was no problem. American Home Shield sent somebody who determined that the bearing couldn’t be used. It would cost more to repair it than to replace it. I had to go out and get a new washer and I paid for it with my credit card. It took a couple of weeks and American Home Shield sent me a check. AHS took care of everything in a timely manner and everything was processed. They were very professional, and the problem was solved quickly and I was reimbursed quickly. As far as the purchase, I did that on my own but they recommended the washer and I got the one that they recommended. Everything went smoothly and I would recommend them.

Having American Home Shield is a great idea because as a woman, I don’t know how to fix stuff. There are some men who are very handy, like my dad. But he passed away and so after that, I signed up for American Home Shield. For someone who doesn’t know much about home maintenance, the warranty is really beneficial. In requesting for service, submitting claims online is easier because if you're on the phone, sometimes you're put on hold and you gotta wait. Most recently, American Home Shield sent a guy from Premier Appliance. I thought my washing machine was broken but he looked at it and figured out that it wasn’t actually broken. He was able to tell me what the problem really was and was very professional. I'm sure if my washing machine had really been broken, he would have also fixed it very well.

Other than him, the technicians that American Home Shield has sent out have been great too. The guy who came out to inspect my heating system before was great. He did a good job. Then the guy who came out to put a new capacitor on my heat pump was good too. He recommended a service that I did pay for then he went ahead and did it that day, which was great. My air conditioner was back up and running. So I'm really happy with American Home Shield.

There was a problem with my toilet and so I submitted a claim to American Home Shield. When I called the first time, I had no problem. They sent RK out. There were two toilets, and they had to replace a faucet on my sink in the kitchen. They took care of that and it was fine. They also took care of the toilet that was in my master bathroom. But the problem was when they came the first time for the toilet that's used for the rest of the house, they thought it was fixed. They left and that same day, I called them back saying the same thing is happening.

They said I have to recall so I called AHS. They gave me a recall and sent RK back out again. RK redid the same thing. They changed the little gasket on the bottom of the tank and they said everything was fine. Well, no less than six hours later, I called them again and they said they don't know how they can fix it. I told them that I have been with American Home Shield for 14 years and I've never had a problem with it before. They got to either repair it or take the inside of the tank out and replace the parts.

So, I did another recall. They came back out again and did the exact same thing. The fellow who was here last Friday seemed to be the one who knew about Kohler toilets. What he found was inside the actual unit that goes down to close off the water, there was some kind of a washer. It was a Styrofoam or a cotton washer that had dislodged. He thought that fixed it but an hour and a half later, I called the company and told them that that washer may be what the problem was, and if it's not there, it's going to be a problem.

They said they haven't heard back from American Home Shield. I called them on Monday, Tuesday, and on Wednesday. And the guy told me that on Friday, it seems that American Home Shield told them that they have to reassign it to get a second opinion. So now, AHS is sending out another plumbing company called Supreme and hopefully, when they come out, they'll fix it.

I just had to do an air condition and a water heater put in, and AHS didn't pay for the whole thing, but I only paid for part of it, and I've never had a problem. But I called the Kohler about this toilet and they said this is what they call phantom flushing. I explained everything to the engineer on the phone and he said the problem was if the fitting that goes down to close off the water isn't there, it will seep through.

He asked me if I can get any food coloring and put a couple of drops in the tank. He also told me to turn the water off to the tank, stir it around and see if in my bowl, the color is appearing. That's exactly what happened. And he said the problem was the seal was not sealing properly. I asked what the remedy is and he said the only remedy is to have the techs take out that whole piece. Water in Tucson is very expensive. It's costing me and I tried to explain that to RK. But they said they can't do anything about it and can't figure out what the problem was.

My contract says if they can't fix my toilet, they got to replace it. It's not a lot of money. But this was three days and four hours that I have to wait for them to come. And another four hours for the other company to come. I'm retired and it's still quite an inconvenience. Nevertheless, every time I've called, all the girls that I dealt with were very nice. AHS has been very nice as well.

When we had a problem with the heating unit, I submitted a claim to American Home Shield online. It was super easy to navigate through the website. A technician came out here within 24 hours. He tried to assess what was going on. He walked through several steps, asked some questions, and looked at the thermostat. It was the first time we’ve utilized AHS and it gave us two things. First is peace of mind and the second is not having the hassle of trying to find a contractor. When I made a request, they did all the searching for you. I would tell someone to give AHS a try.

My heat wasn’t working and when I submitted my claim with American Home Shield online, I was asked what kind of heating unit I had. There was not a part on the computer that specified the heat so I posted the air conditioner. Also, there was no feedback to know that they got the claim. Being that it wasn’t clear, I called on the phone to make sure they knew what I needed and I got excellent customer service.

The tech came and went up in the attic. He found out that I had gotten three new thermostats and the guy who connected them didn’t do it right. The tech completed the repair on the same day and he also checked everything in the attic to make sure everything was working properly. The heater has been working well since and I’m able to sleep and be warm.

I contacted AHS in early January because my fridge was not keeping its temperature. I was sent a provider called Preferred AC and Appliance who diagnosed the issue and said we needed a new control board and temp sensors. After waiting for the parts to be delivered for 3 weeks because that is the soonest AHS suppliers could get it to the repair shop the tech showed up to install things yesterday. Prior to his arrival, the fridge couldn't keep temp or make ice, but at least I was able to get filtered water out of it.

After the tech "installed the fix", I now find that water won't dispense out of the fridge and pointed this out to him. He suggested it was an issue with the filter and that maybe now we needed a new ice making unit. Well, I spend $50 on an new filter, even though the one that was in there was 2 weeks old and what do you know it didn't work, but he was long gone of course. Now 24 hours later of course, the fridge temperature issue isn't fixed and now the one thing that was working now also doesn't work so the issue is actually worse. I called AHS and asked that a new company be sent out to review the issue since I didn't think that their original provider had diagnosed the issue properly and had actually made the situation worse. I was told by a supervisor that they could have a recall with Preferred with no additional cost and that they would send a lead tech or I could have a new company come out for an additional $75 service fee.

So now I've got to wait for this recall for a company that AHS hired who has horrible local reviews on Yelp (40 reviews - 30 are 1 star) or pay more money because the company AHS assigned couldn't do the job in the first place. Meanwhile, my family with two small children does not have a fridge and now doesn't have our usual family source of water available for over a month. Also in trying to follow up on this issue over the last month my wife and I have spend all in probably 5 hours on the phone with AHS on hold, or waiting for supervisors, or getting "disconnected with no call back" or just not being updated when updates were promised. Why am I paying AHS $55 per month again...?

Our Maytag washer wasn't spinning the water out of the clothes. I submitted an online claim with American Home Shield and they sent a technician out. The tech texted me to let me know that he was on his way and he then showed up on time. He did what he had to do and he sent the report over to American Home Shield. He did great. However, I've called American Home Shield twice and I'm a little upset that I haven’t gotten a callback from them. The last time, they just told me that I have to wait and that maybe, by the end of the week, someone would call me. I told them that we didn't have a washing machine but they told me that that was the way the process works. It's hard to depend on that if it's gonna take that long. If I have coverage, they should be able to get me back running and going. I would not recommend American Home Shield and I'm looking to see if I can find another company.

When the defrosted board went out on our HVAC unit, I filed an online claim and American Home Shield called me. They asked what was going on and I told them we’ve got a problem. The compressor and the fan on the compressor unit weren't coming on, so the heat we were getting was just the emergency backup. It wasn’t heating the house, so we had to rely on the wood-burning stove to heat the house.

The contractor who was sent out took a look at the unit and told me what it needed. It’s an old unit, so they had to get the replacement part from the manufacturer. When they got the part, the tech came back and put it in. The contractor was very friendly and polite. They always put on their little booties before they came into the house. Plus, they called me to let me know in advance when they were coming out. Once they got the unit fixed, it was able to heat the house up to keep the household warm. Overall, I had a very good experience with American Home Shield.

Whenever I submit claims to American Home Shield, it's good 99% of the time. We had a plumbing issue which was not covered, and that was a big chunk of change. But other than that, they’ve been good. Their service is excellent and they’re usually right on it. If I submit my claim online, they’ll send a notice through text and email within minutes saying that they’ve assigned a contractor to call me within 24 hours to set stuff up. I find their site very easy to use as well.

The majority of my interactions with the contractors have been very good. The technicians are very friendly and knowledgeable. When one of the bearings and one of the rollers of my dryer were shut, the contractor All in One Appliance Repair replaced those pieces. The guy disassembled the dryer and fixed it in less than an hour. Then we’ve had an experience with one plumbing company that I basically gave 0 rating. The guy was rude and he did not fix the problem initially. He ended up having to come out the second time and he wasn’t happy to come back. Hopefully, American Home Shield won’t be using them anymore. I’m very pleased with American Home Shield and I prefer them over the other company that we had before. I’d rather crank out the monthly charge instead of having to fork out a whole lot of money to get something fixed. It’s much more economical having them in the long term.

My stove would not ignite and we had an outlet that wasn’t working. At first, we thought it was the stove. And then when we discovered the outlet wasn’t working. We knew we had an electrical issue. I submitted a claim with American Home Shield online and it's very simple. I tried calling before and it was a nightmare. You’re on hold for at least 30 minutes. My average hold is an hour. The contractor came in and my mom was home that day. He came in and had it figured out within a few minutes and got it taken care of. My mom said he was a very nice person. He did a great job. Everything’s working fine.

We’ve also had a few issues with our massive, commercial Viking refrigerator. This last issue, they’re still working on it. It took a while to get the part, which is fine. But when it was gonna take a while, I got a phone call from American Home Shield offering me $300 to buy me out of my $12,000 refrigerator because the part was gonna take a while. That's comical. Why would I take $300 for a $12,000 refrigerator? The young lady who called was very nice. I know she was doing her job. But, seriously, who would take that deal? The guy came out and said the part that was sent was broken, and then he tried to pull the refrigerator out and he hurt himself. I called his company today to finally get them. They need two people to come out to pull the refrigerator away from the wall.

The other issue is with the payment. There always seems to be an issue. I don’t wanna pay for it until the service is done. But it seems to always get messed up, and then I have to call and be on the phone for an hour. And when I talked to somebody, unfortunately, it sounds like they’re not from here, and it’s very difficult to talk to somebody about payment issues.

We have a furnace that is about 20 years old. It was installed by an outfit called ASI, they're a big heating and air conditioning outfit in San Diego. We have it inspected every year and this year, when they came out during the inspection, they took some photographs inside the furnace. They said that the heat exchanger was badly corroded and that it was subject to cracking, and they couldn't predict when. Therefore, they were recommending that the furnace be replaced.

The furnace functions, but we're both in our mid-70s, and we have this picture painted by ASI, of the threat of carbon monoxide being exposed into our vent. It doesn't smell, you can't tell that it's there. We've got some carbon monoxide detectors that are plugged into locations around the house but we are afraid to use the furnace. So, we haven't used it since and we made the claim under American Home Shield. My reasoning was that the furnace is rendered dysfunctional by virtue of the fact that we're fearful to use it, don't wanna die in our sleep from carbon monoxide poisoning.

AHS diligently sent out a nice guy and he put this camera into the furnace and he didn't seem to be able to see the corrosion that the ASI guy showed. I gave him the photos that the ASI guy had given us. I don't know whether we were being hustled for a new furnace by ASI or not. But I have no reason to believe that ASI was being fraudulent in the photos that they shared with us. I stood with them, they took the photos and then texted the photos to me on my phone number. The guy that AHS sent was really very candid. When he stuck his camera in, I stood there right with him. We looked and he didn't seem to be able to find the location of the corrosion that the ASI guy had measured and had seen, he didn't seem to be able to duplicate the photos. But he took what photos he could base on where he thought the heat exchanger was inside and said that he'd report to AHS.

I've been a lawyer for over 40 years and I've done insurance defense work for auto policies and homeowner's policies. It seems to me that if American Home Shield writes the policy, it doesn't consider this kind of a scenario wherein if there's a crack caused by the corrosion, through which carbon monoxide is arguably coming into the house at some level. AHS does not cover something that is not dysfunctional. Then even though the furnace actually runs, the burner runs, the fan runs, the blower runs, I think AHS has a problem on their hands in terms of their coverage. They could get themselves in some trouble in terms of insurance bad faith. It's something that they need to consider.

AHS has been great on the other claims that we've handled though. We pay our premiums dutifully and we had the coverage for quite a while and they've done right. AHS is pretty good as far as this claim is concerned. It's been easy working with them but we did have a situation where American Home Shield assigned an independent contractor to come out and take a look at the furnace. And it rained a little bit and the guy basically blew us off after an attempt to have them visit the house. That was a terrible experience. Then said he had problems getting a hold of us. That was very dissatisfying. But then American Home Shield picked somebody else to come out and take the place of this first guy they selected and he was dynamite.

Thus far, I've put in three calls with American Home Shield. The first one I put in, they didn't pay for because the part wasn't covered. Some time thereafter, I made a second call for my refrigerator. They had A and E Appliance Repair do the job and they had to order parts. When the parts came so did another tech but the parts they ordered, I didn't need. The second tech took an hour and saw what I needed. The right parts got delivered to my house and he came back two weeks later. He was very knowledgeable and just did what he had to do. Now, my refrigerator is going again.

I had no water in my house from yesterday morning as my well pump was broken. The company that signed up with them was two hours away and they called me saying that they would be out the day after I made this review between 10:00 in the morning and 8:00 at night. I asked AHS to get somebody closer to my area. I told them that they gave me an out of network approval the last time around. However, the rep I got this time wasn't as cooperative so I told her that I had no water in my house. She said that their contractors would be here and they texted me every inch of the way. Communication was open and now I have water. I recommend AHS.

We had a leak where the Freon is put in. It’s almost like a bicycle tire except that little valve in the center in the stem, where it was leaking at. 18 months ago, we had Johnson Controls. They came out here, said there was a leak, and they replaced the whole line. But apparently, it wasn’t the line. Instead, it was that little bit piece. We wound up paying a bunch of money to get that done but it was not fixed. So, this time, somebody came out and fixed it.

Whenever I submit a claim through American Home Shield, it has been easy. I do it online most of the time but I also do it on the phone every once in a while. My interaction with their reps was fine. The only time we’ve called in was because something that we thought was covered but they said it wasn’t, and when they needed more information.

Most of the contractors they sent out did a very good job. Every once in a while, there has been some that we’ve semi-complained about. One of them was Johnson Controls. When they came out and work on our system, it took me four months of bugging them before they finally sent me an itemized bill. I wasn’t very happy because normally, whenever you have an air conditioner, you meet a problem. And if there is a leak, sometimes, they’re gonna replace the line. They’ll suck out all the Freon that’s in there, and they’ll put it in a holding tank. And then, once it gets fixed, they’ll put it back in and then refill with everything else.

If I have a 10-pound system, and they’re able to take 4 pounds out. They’ll put that 4 pounds back in, then I’ll pay for 6 more. But these people didn’t. They said they didn’t save any of it so we had to pay for 10 pounds. It was roughly $110 a pound and it gets to be expensive. But then, we found out later, they said they put R22 in there. They rolled the lid of the air conditioning system, but they put 407C in there, which is a new stuff. It’s only $70 a pound, but we paid for $110 a pound so we were ripped off at roughly 300 bucks.

We called American Home Shield when they authorized the replacement of the air handler in the attic. The other company charged us $150 to remove the old one, which I paid because that’s not normal charge. But two and a half years later, I was up in the attic doing something, and I’ve noticed there was something behind the air handler. It was the old one. They didn’t take it out. I called American Home Shield about it, and they said that the company’s no longer in business. Other than that, I'm happy with American Home Shield. I’ve heard from the last couple of contractors that they are one of the better companies to have for a home warranty.

We had an issue with the furnace as it would not turn on and ignite so I went online and put in the work order to American Home Shield. Everyone at the customer service did really well. Airtemp came immediately and fixed the problem. It was a very good experience. However, the first service that we put in was when the dishwasher broke and was not draining properly. I tried to get in touch with someone because that service was absolutely horrendous and I wasn't able to. It went on for almost three weeks because the first technician who came over evaluated that there were several things wrong and they had to order parts. So, he ended up ordering six parts that came to the house over a period of two weeks. Then, the same technician came back and said that the right part was not ordered and we had to wait another week for it.

At that point, I complained directly to the service provider telling them how was it possible that a dishwasher would take over three weeks to get resolved. They said that they would send over their specialist. When the specialist came, he just used one of the seven parts that they ordered to fix it and got it done in less than a half hour. I wanted to express to American Home Shield that I don’t know how much they are paying them, but they came out three times to fix and ordered several parts that they didn’t even use.

I paid the service fee once, which was fine, but the reason why I called American Home Shield and left a message for someone to call me was that I didn’t want American Home Shield to get abused by their service reps. I hope they didn’t charge AHS for all of the parts ordered. Also, I wasn’t too happy with the fact that I had to wait almost three weeks, through the holiday season, to get my dishwasher fixed because they were sending out the wrong person for a simple part that only took a half hour.

When I get the customer's satisfaction, it's really geared towards pressing it to say how satisfied I am. It was not so easy to navigate if you were dissatisfied or that you felt that American Home Shield was being taken advantage, which in this particular case, it was both me and American Home Shield that was taken advantage in the situation. They should have a little bit more flexibility on that. Nonetheless, everything about their customer service has been fine.

It's a rental for us, so they worked with the tenants to arrange a good time and then diagnosed what was wrong with it. It was the control panel and they ordered the part and arranged another time to come out and fix it. But it took a little bit of time. It took over two weeks from the time they left the house initially to order the part and then get back to them. Other than that, everything was fine.

Our first claim with our furnace was really challenging. It took multiple visits from people and we paid for them to look at our furnace when we knew it had a problem. They said there wasn’t anything wrong with it, so then we had to pay the fee again. The guys who came out weren’t very good. They didn’t even bring tools. The companies where they came from didn’t seem as reputable and experienced around here. But ultimately, the issue got resolved. A motor recently needed to be replaced and I had a good experience with American Home Shield on this claim. The company ordered the part and the tech came about a week and a half later and replaced the motor. He did a great job and everything is working great.

I was very displeased with Selina, AHS's rep. She was a **. I did not understand her and I kept telling her to speak slower, but she would not listen to me. I have two different houses, and she put two different things. I have a swimming pool in my other home, and I told her that I had new machinery with the swimming people and that I had leaks somewhere. Then she wrote that I had leaks in the machinery, which was totally not what I said. So, she wrote everything wrong there. I have two central air conditioners, one on the ground and one on the roof, but she said that I only have one central heating unit and that it is only downstairs and it wasn’t working. However, that was not what I said. The one downstairs was working but it was not working correctly, while the one upstairs wasn't working.

Everything was rough and I get upset every time I think about her. She talked over me again and again. The next day, however, I got a different lady who was just the cutest person in the world. No problem there. But then I called to correct and to report the other things, and when I called back again and to have them come out for the second story central unit, I got Selina again. After I waited for 30 minutes to get somebody, she got on the phone and started talking. I said she needed to speak slower, but she kept going.

Finally, I asked her to transfer me to a different customer service representative. She said, "One moment please." Then she hung up on me. I've been with American Home Shield for six months now and that is poor customer service. The contractors that have come out were excellent though. My refrigerator's icemaker was broken, and the contractor ordered everything new in there including a new gasket for the freezer. Another representative that I dealt with was excellent as well. Although my service is not yet complete, American Home Shield has done what they said they will do.

The heat in my home wouldn’t blow any warm air. Initially, I made an appointment with American Home Shield through the internet. I had a magnet with my claim number on my refrigerator, so it was just a matter of putting in the number and explaining what was going on with my faulty appliance. I did this prior to business hours at around 6:00 in the morning and around 7:30, I got a call. A company contacted me but that company couldn’t handle the claim because they didn’t deal with water-sourced heat pumps.

I spoke with American Home Shield when I was waiting to be scheduled with a second company. I got a live person on the line and that was a couple of days later. The second guy from Genesis was great because he had a very small bag with him that had his tools. I didn’t know if he was gonna be able to fix it with just that but all he needed was a screwdriver in his hands and he was able to fix everything. So, I was impressed. American Home Shield is a good investment because had I just called the number on the side of the machine for service, then I probably would have paid a lot more than $75 to get assistance.

The last claim we had with American Home Shield was our washing machine which wasn't cycling right. It would slide in to rinse and when it did that, it would go back to wash again and it wouldn't spin right. We called American Home Shield and I didn't have any problem with them, other than they kept sending the same guy out to fix the machine. I don't think he knew what he was doing. He didn't say the washer couldn't be fixed. He changed out a part in the control dial, then he wound up and changed out the motor. It never got fixed.

The last guy sent out tried to pull up and see what had been done to the washer, but he couldn't find anything on it. He wound up telling AHS, "The only thing I can do to possibly fix it is to go in and rebuild everything. You'll probably spent $1,000 trying to get this washing machine fixed. There's no guarantee that it will work then." So, AHS finally gave up on the idea of fixing it and they had us go to their website and pick out a washer. It didn't take very long to send the guy out, but it took over a month for us to wind up finally getting a new washing machine. The experience with American Home Shield was worse this time than it has ever been. Nonetheless, I'm satisfied. Our air conditioner is a 1993 model train, but it works well. I had it serviced and AHS did excellent on it.

He fixed the relay switch and it was crazy because it was the same thing that we had fixed a year ago. So before I even reached out to AHS, I called the contractor first to tell them that and to ask if there was any coverage on the repair.

But their rep said that I had to resubmit a claim through your Home Shield again and go through that directly. I didn't like that because I'd be paying out of my pocket every time the techs would come out and do it. And I personally know that to fix that would cost less than my deductible. But I didn't wanna take a chance on that because if I didn't know what was going on with the tank, then I'd add up a service call and I'd have to pay that service call. And later I'd fin myself turning around and using the contractor that Home Shield provided. So, I'd take the chance on the scene. Other than that, everything has been working perfectly since the repair and now we don't have to go out and switch on the hot water tank to get our water for showers. So, it saves up about 40 minutes a day.

Some of my experiences with American Home Shield are great and some are not. My concern is that I come out with the benefit of having an insurance for my home and because there are some things that you can do on your own. But so far, all the technicians and the people that I’ve dealt with have turned out to be really positive. I had issues with my washing dryer, my dishwasher and my microwave. I called AHS and the reps were helpful, kind and knowledgeable. The techs repaired it all for one service call fee, and I was happy with that. They made me feel special because of the things that they told me and the things that they helped me through. If I had called a regular service person, I wouldn’t have accomplished as much as I did.

However, the most negative experience I had was with the heating service people when they came out to deal with the furnace. Those people were greedy and gave me a big deal on how much it will cost and it was almost $6,000. They also misinformed me, made me cry and upset me to the point that I didn’t wanna deal with them anymore. Also, they put me in charge with somebody that was going to lend me the money, so I would have to take a second mortgage on my home to get my furnace fixed. I’m a single woman and I’m on a fixed income. I didn’t wanna do that.

The things on the list were some overcharges for Freon and things that I really didn’t have to have repaired. And so at the end of the day, I talked to my brother and because we come from a home repair background service, he told me that I could get somebody to handle those things and I didn’t have to have this and that. I ended up getting a private contractor who was knowledgeable in the field of heat and air. AHS sent me a check of $700 some and I paid the rest and the man charged me $1,700. He came out and repaired the heat and did some things, and I didn’t have to have all the stuff that they did. But it just seemed to me that they were trying to sell me a new unit when at that time I really couldn’t afford a new unit.

But then when I called AHS they brought to my attention that it seems like I was doing insurance fraud. I don’t understand why would I pay $59 a month and then get treated with so much dishonesty because the Freon in the heating unit was $149 per pound and the unit clearly say this is a 5-pound unit. They charged me on the bill for 8 pounds of Freon. The rep gave me a certificate for the next service call, which was when Potate’s came in.

I wasn’t going to deal with it anymore but the rep made me realize that I hadn’t been into it for two or three months. Even so, Potate’s came in and did above and beyond. They were really nice people and I was so pleased with how they handled things because they weren’t dishonest. Even though it took a long time to get it done, I was patient and they were too. Everybody was happy.

They got back to me within a very short period of time and told me who they were gonna send out and that they would be contacting me. Then this company called in that afternoon and set up an appointment for the following day. They got out as quickly as they could, but just before they arrived, the heater was back on and I couldn't believe it. The repairman checked everything, went up into the attic and cleaned everything in case dust or dirt was causing a misreading on the system, but he couldn't find anything specifically. Then he left me his direct line in case that it continued or if it starts doing it again so that we can get the appointment set up quickly. The repair service that AHS recommended was excellent.

The issue was taken care of realistically by AHS. They stepped up, and they took care of it quickly and efficiently. Even though it turned out to be nothing, I couldn't ask for a better service. It was fast and excellent, and everything has been working like a charm since the service call. When you submit a claim online, there's always that question at the back of your mind, "Has somebody seen it? Did it send into the right spot? Did it get kicked out?" AHS, however, didn't leave me hanging, wondering if somebody got my email or any of this stuff. Instead, they let me know quickly, and that is all I could ask for.

The drum was hitting and it was stiff, too. And the guy that came out said that he had to order the rollers, which I was sure was a $30 part. Then American Home Shield called me a couple days later saying that they couldn't get the parts, so they were just gonna get me a whole brand new dryer. I had to like convince them that I did not want a new dryer and that they should just get the rollers. The guy that came out wrote down the serial numbers and I gave it to the American Home Shield lady over the phone. Then the guy came out again and put the rollers on. So I was trying to save them money but they were trying to buy me a brand new dryer for a $30 part. So, they're almost too helpful.

They were personable and easy to work with, and I felt like they took good care of us. The HVAC has been performing great since the repair. The day-to-day operations in our home became a lot more comfortable and hopefully, we will save a lot of energy because the thing was just running and running and blowing out cool air.

But when I checked to see it, I was asked to do it online. The technician who came was excellent. He had a very good personality and I was very impressed with his professionalism and attitude. We had a water leak coming from the top of the inside of the refrigerator, just below where the freezer wire was. We looked at it, went online and somebody said that the freezer probably had too much product in it and that sometimes it might thaw a little bit. We decided to go that route and we took everything out. We thought it worked but two days ago, it started to leak again. At this point, we had a full refrigerator and freezer. The last time I did a claim to American Home Shield, one of the reps mentioned that I could also do the claims online. I recently changed my credit card and I saw the area. I went online and did the request fast. I got a reply within a couple minutes, as far as who’s coming out, which was awesome.

The contractors came out two days later and did a great job. The technician did a fantastic job. He was very professional and courteous. Since they came out, the refrigerator has been running well and the gentleman told us to keep it as long as we can. Apparently, the new ones are having the same problems. As they get older, stuff starts to get stuck and the air vent is more difficult to try and clean out. Overall, I now no longer have to worry about the water leak going down to my food. So, it makes it a lot easier. Having a warranty is quite valuable especially because I’m living in a house that’s 28 plus years old. Most of the equipment are about five years old, so to pay only $49 a month is well worth it.

What happened to me was that I found out when I talked to the actual plumbers that what they were gonna come out for and do wasn't covered under American Home Shield's warranty. AHS didn't tell me that. They have already charged my credit card but I cancelled the service. I called AHS and spent 45 minutes on the phone with somebody who was completely incompetent so I just wrote an email saying that I had a terrible experience on the phone and that there was no reason for them to not credit me since I didn't use the plumbers. But I am yet to see the $75 credit. AHS is still my home warranty provider for the next six months but I am not thrilled with them. Their customer service should be more empowered to help customers.

Having a home warranty is valuable especially for someone who's a first-time homeowner. It is really helpful to have somebody else to come out and fix the issue. Recently, my heating unit wasn’t working. It was 14 degrees here and was lower due to the wind. It was the worst day for my heat to break. I called to submit my claim to American Home Shield. I waited on hold for 30 minutes to get a person on the phone but after I was about to hang up, I got somebody and she was very helpful. It was a very quick interaction and it was good. I told her it was an emergency because I thought my pipes would probably freeze. She said that the guy was on his way. I left work and then I got a message from the contractor saying that they were gonna contact me. I ended up calling him directly and he said he would be at my house within an hour.

The contractor who came was very friendly. He was here for less than 30 minutes and he got the heater working. I told him what was going on, and then he asked me about the thermostat and if I had changed the battery, which I hadn’t. He then asked to see the heating system in the basement, I showed that to him, and then he told me that the pilot light was out, and it was the only problem. He showed me how to reset it myself. He told me I should schedule a service with whatever company I needed to. He wasn’t able to do a full service on it because it's a three-hour project and that wasn’t part of the appointment that I have. He suggested that that I change the battery on the thermostat. It worked the rest of that day, then I woke up the next day and it was off again. Since the contractor told me how to reset it, I did it, got batteries and that fixed the problem.

We have been with AHS for more than fifteen years. Over that time we have had numerous service experiences. For the most part they have been positive and we have referred friends and relatives to AHS. However, we have noticed over the past few years that the service providers they send out are not as professional or experienced as in the past. We have also noticed that AHS’s customer service is declining. It’s very difficult, if not impossible, to talk with someone who speaks the English language with proficiency.

My latest request was for service on my Electrolux dryer. I put in a request for service on January 20th. On January 24th a service provider sent out a technician. He arrived in a personal vehicle and he had nothing on him to identify that he worked for the company. I was a bit leery about letting him in, but because there were a number of family members in the house, I let him in. He looked at the machine (by that, I mean he turned it on and off), made his diagnoses, and said they would need to order a part and that someone would call to let me know when it came in. It was not until February 4th that someone was again sent out. This person also came in his personal vehicle and had nothing on to identify himself as working for a company. He came in and did nothing except to say that he disagreed with the first guy's diagnosis and that another part would need to be ordered.

On February 7th, I tried calling the company several times to see what was going on but the phone was never answered. I left messages but no one returned my calls. I then called AHS for the second time. That was a waste of about 40 minutes of my time. I explained what was going on. I requested another provider but was informed that I would be charged another service fee if another company was sent out. It was very hard to interpret what the person was saying and I asked to speak with a supervisor. That person was also very hard to understand. He was able to contact the service provider and he told me they would be calling to schedule yet another service call.

The next day the first guy came back out with the part the second guy said it needed. He put the part in and it did not fix the problem. I told him the other technician (and I use that term lightly) did not put in the other part that had been ordered. He said he would have to call it in and see if he could locate the part that had been ordered on January 25th and was supposed to be put in on February 4th. So it has now been 19 days since I put in the request for service and it is still not fixed. My view of AHS has declined greatly and primarily because of their lack of good customer service.

It has been a nightmare from the start. I was sent a company (Grade A plumbing) that misdiagnosed my water heater problem then tried to say I was going to need to cut into my detached garage drywall to rectify. The very same day they installed the water heater I had no hot water after having some lukewarm water to begin with, and the company turned off my gas logs without letting me know. (In the winter).

AHS at least sent out another company to fixed the issue after I was not comfortable with the first one who did not install water heater properly. After that the pilot light kept going out on the water heater and I had to call to see what the issue was. The install company comes back out and said he is temporarily fixing the issue but will order new part to fix the issue. That was over 3 weeks ago. Called the install company (no response), manufacturer and AHS and still no replacement despite AHS assuring me it will be here in 1-2 business this past Monday 2/4/19.

As of this writing still no part to fix my problem. I have had no less than 5 appointments with plumbers since this started, which makes me have to take off work each time. Not to mention all the minutes on hold on the telephone. What should have been an easy install has turned into a series of bad experiences. I thought having a home warranty would make it easier to take care of my home.

I purchased the Seller Coverage Option as part of the Home Protection Plan with American Home Shield through Coldwell Banker. I was fully aware of what was covered when I placed my call to American Home Shield for electrical work. American Home Shield's preferred company for the work was Stilwell Plumbing/Mechanical. This company did arrive to assess the work that was requested. The technician that arrived was on time, very courteous and seemed knowledgeable yet when he reviewed the work needed with he he told me he could only do the job if I paid him an additional $300. I refused to pay and even made a note on the invoice that the items requested for repair were covered under the warranty.

I placed a call to Stilwell and was told someone would return my call. After waiting a day and a half I called back to American Home Shield. I do have to say I spoke to a very kind employee at American Home Shield who was able to tell me that American Home Shield did get a reply from Stilwell stating that they had completed all the work and American Home Shield paid Stilwell their $200 fee. So Stilwell did absolutely nothing to take care of the electrical needs at the home, tried to charge me $300 to do the work and then got paid $200 by American Home Shield for "completing" the work. As far as I know, American Home Shield is still using Stilwell Plumbing/Mechanical. This does not speak well of the type of care homeowners should receive from a Home Warranty Company.

When I finally reached them on January 2nd, I was told someone would be out to take care of the problem that day and that he would call me to schedule. Their repairman called me and asked about the problem, I tried to explain the issue. He said it sounded like a problem with the pump and that he would order the part. I called a week later to obtain an update. Apparently the part was sent to the wrong location. He said he would let me know when it came in. When I reached out to the company a few days later, they said he would be back in touch.

He called me the following day and scheduled a time to come out and provided me with a two hour window of time. He never showed up and I had to call to follow up to see what was going on. When we spoke we agreed on another date and he provided me with a two hour window. He didn't show up. The third time we scheduled, he said he would show up at 9:00am. He showed up at 10:00am. He made the repair and left. The following day I ran the dishwasher and the it still had the same problem. I reached out to the company and they said that they would send him out again. He was scheduled to return the following day between 4:00 and 6:00. He didn't show!

I called his employer - the mail box was full, so I sent her a text. After a very rude exchange, I told her not to have anyone come out to fix the problem and that I would contact American Home Shield to be reassigned. I called AHS the following day but since it was a Saturday, nobody could assist me. They said that to be reassigned, I would need to pay for the service call again but if I were to call back the following Monday, they might be able to help. I called back on the Monday and after being on hold for 40 mins, I spoke with someone who was unable to help. She had me speak to someone else, who said that they could provide me with another contractor. A new company was assigned. I called them three times during the week and they did not return my call.

I called AHS again on the following Monday to let them know that I had not had any success reaching the new contractor. They called him and he called me back within a few hours. We scheduled a time for him to come out and he showed up. He took a look at the dishwasher and decided on the parts that needed to be ordered. He said he had to go through AHS to order the parts and that he would do so. When I didn't hear from him for a week, I called and his voicemail was full. I called two more times and then sent a text and I didn't hear back from him. On Monday, I called again and he said he would follow up with AHS to see the status of the parts. He said he would call me back with an update.

Today, Thursday, I still haven't heard from him. I left him a message earlier today before reaching out to AHS again. I was informed by AHS that no parts were ordered for the repair. I asked to speak to someone who might be able to assist me as I really would like to get my dishwasher fixed. I spent an hour on hold only to be told that they would try to call the contractor again. I asked not to be put on hold for a long time but after another 50 mins I was told that they couldn't reach anyone and that they would call me tomorrow. I am furious! This has been a huge waste of my time. It has been over six weeks since I placed the initial service request and nothing has been accomplished.

Recently, there was a company that American Home Shield sent out by the name of Shorty's Plumbing and they looked at the plumbing issues that I have. I had to replace my hot water heater and my commode had to be resealed and my faucet sink was still leaking. Sean came out and I told him that the city came out and told me I had to raise my hot water heater off the ground 18 inches. He said that it would be $450 and that we had to replace the hot water heater. That would be out of my money. He said that was modifications.

We moved in to my house to look at the kitchen faucet and I told him it was leaking there and we had to replace that. He said he was not going to give me a $299 faucet and he was only gonna make $50. I stopped him right there and said, "So basically, I'm sorry, what you're not gonna do is you're not going to put a sink in and only make $50, correct?" He said that there was a $140 upgrade fee but I told him my policy says that it would be replaced. Again, he kept going on and on, so I had to stop talking with him to go outside in my own yard and call American Home Shield.

There's also a bathroom issue. They changed the one in the bathrooms and he went to my master bath. He said something was broken, but he never took the toilet off to inspect it. So, I had to keep calling back and forth to American Home Shield. This gentleman came out here to tell me about the upgrades and there are no upgrades. Also, he told the company that I was asking for modifications. I was only doing what the city told me I had to do. They told me there'd be a $450 increase because I was asking for modifications. So, that's why I was not doing it.

I didn't feel comfortable with that plumbing company coming out again. American Home Shield called somebody to come and look at it again to make sure what the problem was. I had a second opinion and a guy came out and took care of my master bath. He did an outstanding job. When I called them to see when they were coming back out, I talked to a gentleman and he was supposed to call me back. I got off of work to wait for their phone call so I could take care of the problem at home. But he didn't call back so, I'm disappointed.

Also, a guy from American Home Shield said the only thing they could do was to send the first company back out. So, what they're doing is forcing a company on me that I told them is trying to scam the customer. Then, he said all they could do is cash me out. I don’t wanna be cashed out. I want my problem fixed. I pay the money every month. I don’t want to call them about it and have to pay a bunch of money to ask somebody to look at it again. All I'm asking for them to do is to honor my contract. I'm not a plumber so, I'm asking the experts to come out here and to evaluate my issues.

Before the plumbing issues, I was very happy with American Home Shield. Every time I had asked them to come out, they had. I've had situations in my house that they've taken care of for me and my family. We had an issue in the garage and James J. Floor came out and their guy took care of it. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. He knew everything and it didn’t take him long to do the job. I was very, very pleased with them. We pay an amount of money for the insurance and I'm fine with that. My family's comfortable and if something happens, we have insurance for the situation. I'm happy with the company, but I'm not happy with the plumbing situation.

We have been with American Home Shield since October 2016. Thus far, it has been easier for us to submit our claims online. We've had Action Appliance out a couple of times for the dryer and for the washer and dishwasher as well. We usually get a call that the tech is gonna come out, then he would come and take a look at what we have going on. We explain the problem to him and he would research it. He would take the machine apart and determine what the issue is. He then lets us know what the plan of action is at that point. One time, he was able to make the fix because he had the part, but the other two times, he did not have the parts and he had to order them, so he put everything back together and ordered the parts. Then, he came back with the parts to complete the repairs.

He had two open tickets -- one for the washer and one for the dishwasher -- and he combined the two of them. The dishwasher parts took a little longer to get in, but he came back once he had all the parts which took about a week. He explained to us that the part for the dishwasher could take a little while because it was an older unit. He said it may take a week or a week and a half to get the part in before he would come back and do it. The washer, on the other hand, was still functioning, so it was okay that he didn't have the part in as long as it still functions for us. We didn't have an issue with that as far as his time of service. He was very clear and he explained what he was doing. We were pleased with the service and there was no issue with that.

One issue we had was the folks that they sent out when we had our furnace looked at around the holidays. We understand that it gets busy during the holidays or there are fewer people, but they sent somebody from the Detroit area, so it took a while. Also, the techs didn't seem to be as professional as the other folks that we've dealt with and we were a little disappointed. Still, we've been satisfied with our experience with American Home Shield as far as them addressing our service calls is concerned.

When our refrigerator went out, we lived out of a cooler, so we needed it turned around right away. We called American Home Shield and they sent out The Fridge Guy. I dealt with a few guys that were sent out before and some of the experiences were dreadful to the point where I had to call back. Normally, the contractors had to order parts and the situation stretches out for about two weeks, which is horrible. On the other hand, The Fridge Guy was top-notch and one of Home Shield's better guys. The tech was able to fix everything the same day on the spot and it wasn’t just a fuse blown or a simple switch. He had to replace the compressor. He had the parts in stock on his truck all ready to do it.

We had a disposal that needed to have work done on it. The gentleman from Mr. Rooter Plumbing looked at it and said, "Do you realize the disposal you have has a 12-year warranty on it? This is a top-of-the-line disposal. InSinkErator ought to be replacing this." He also said, "American Home Shield will only replace horsepower to horsepower. They will not replace the quality that you have with what you have." I was very appreciative of the fact that he was willing to tell me that, and he went to the second and third step. He said, "Let me look at the serial number." He called InSinkErator right there, told them about the serial number and they agreed with him that it had a 12-year warranty. I paid 100 bucks for him not to do anything, but he gave me some great advice and saved me a lot of money in terms of what the disposal was. I'm getting the disposal replaced for free with one exactly like it.

I also appreciated the fact that he didn't just come in and tear out an incredibly wonderful disposal and replace it with something that was not up to standard and leave. He was very helpful and honest with me. We had called the guy who initially put the disposal in, and he came out and said, "It's out of warranty. I will replace it for $220 plus $50 to install it." He didn't even realize that the thing could be replaced. Overall the house is 15 years old, so having AHS is a great value.

Filing a claim online with American Home Shield for a slow draining bathtub worked pretty well. I clicked “plumbing” and “stoppage” and all the terms to put the issue in and when I got called from dispatch, they were great to give me the correct term. They were very courteous and quick to book an appointment. I wasn’t here when the tech came but my wife said he was great and friendly. He was ahead of his own schedule so he was able to stop here earlier than he had planned. That allowed, if my wife had any plans, to not have to feel like waiting for him which was a plus. He got done quickly with the fix and since then, it has definitely made showers more enjoyable. We don’t have to worry about thinking if the tub has completely drained yet, so we can be quicker out of the bathroom.

I have a gas-fired boiler that heats our house, and one of the pipes above it was leaking. On the American Home Shield automated system, I chose the leaking pipe and a plumber came. The plumber said that it was not a plumbing issue, but an HVAC issue. Then the plumber put it in as expedited since we were having negative temperatures. My heater was working, but I was worried that it may not keep working or that something bad could happen.

I went back to work and then I got a call that the HVAC guy was gonna come. Later on that same day, I came back to meet the HVAC guy. But then he came and said that it was a plumbing issue. I told him that the plumber was here and he said that it was an HVAC issue because of the leak. So he took pictures and then he said that a plumber could’ve fixed it. I told him that the plumber didn’t fix it, then he said that he had to go back and report it. Then he left and didn’t give me paperwork. I heard from nobody. I called AHS and their call center was horrible because it was very hard to understand the people. The girl rep said that they would call me back, but they didn't call.

The next day, I called and asked them what was going on. This took me three days. So I could go online to my account and see that it was in some kind of a review or authorization. There were many hours that I lost from work and it was a total of four hours on the phone. There was the frustration of not understanding until someone finally told me that it's a law where I could demand to speak to someone that I could actually understand. It's only fair that I should be able to understand the person I'm speaking to.

These call center people told me that their system said that it was not normal wear and tear. Finally, I managed to get a number of their home office. Every time I called in there, I was on hold and get hung up on. I finally got a very nice lady, and I could understand her. She said that she was gonna look into it and get live information. They ended up sending back the original HVAC guy, and finally, he fixed it in 20 minutes.

I had opted for the option of paying after the work was completed because I preferred waiting until it gets fixed. But I saw that AHS charged me before the work was completed. I asked AHS why they did that, and they answered that the service call happened and people came to my house. I told them that they did come to my house but they didn’t fix the problem. Is that how it works? They show up, don’t fix the problem, and I still get charged. I'm gonna cancel my contract if that's what happens. I'm okay that it was charged because the issue got fixed, but I'll put in a complaint if they charged me twice. The HVAC guy came here twice, but he should've fixed it on the first time he came.

Other than that, everything has been working fine since the repair. It was a small piece of copper pipe they had to put in, and that was it. I understand the plumber's concern in not wanting to deal with it because it was HVAC. But for the HVAC guy, he just didn’t wanna do it that day. I had AHS do things before, and I haven't had an issue. But that one bad experience cost back and forth from work not once, not twice, but three times.

It was the inner workings of the actual water heater. At first, he checked to see if it was just the temperature that needed to be adjusted but once he realized that something was wrong inside, he repaired it and it didn’t take long. He assessed the problem, took care of it and the best part about it was that it worked. You pay for warranty programs and you never use it. The fact that I was able to engage the product, make a call, get good service, good turnaround and only had to pay $75 was huge for me. I’ve already recommended these AHS guys.

I submitted a claim to American Home Shield over the phone because it's the only way that kind of tell them it's an emergency. The reps were very helpful. I was stressed out and I was a little irritated because sometimes repairs need to be made after hours. I ended up having to pay an extra $75 to the person actually coming to fix it, because Home Shield doesn't cover emergency or after hour charges. But the rep was really nice and explained it to me.

The contractor got out here and they couldn't fix it then but they fixed it enough that I was able to have heat until they can get the parts in and then they fixed it permanently. Now, I have heat, so I'm pretty happy with that. I've recommended American Home Shield. Home warranties help cover the cost for repairs, so there's not so much upfront cost. You have to pay for the home warranty, but at the time when you're really stressed, you just have to make sure you have $75.

You can call and submit a claim, no problem, but that doesn't mean you're gonna get somebody out to look at your issue. It's a pain to get somebody unless you're calling at 2:00 in the morning or some off-time on a Sunday. Your normal wait time would be from 20 minutes to an hour. If you don't have that time, you can leave a message on there for them to call you back. I laid the phone down and just left them on speaker phone. They called back last year, but this last time they didn't. I called the first time and AHS was supposed to call me back within a day or two. I waited two weeks, and I called them back finally. Then the first company never called me back so I called AHS back and they sent another company, which was very good. They just made repairs. Having American Home Shield was worth it.

I asked if somebody can come out quicker and so they set the appointment for the next day, which was really awesome.

The tech who came out was polite and considerate. When he took apart the unit, he was good. He knew exactly what was wrong and repaired it super quick. I was so impressed by that. But when he pulled the lid off of the outside unit and disconnected the wires, he was a little bit rough. He just lifted it and then yanked it out to loosen the wires instead of loosening those out of a hole. He also stepped on a plant and kind of freaked out. I also wanted him to check the duct work and a couple of vents because the airflow seemed a little bit restricted. But I didn’t wanna pressure him for the time since that wasn’t on the work order. Even so, his work was impeccable. After the repair, everything has been working perfectly. I can barely hear the fan motor running.

Submitting a claim online to American Home Shield was simple. I put in a ticket and a contractor arrived at my house the next business day. He was supposed to be there between 12:00 and 4:00 but he showed up at 4:30 which was fine. He looked at the system of my furnace and changed the fuse. He didn’t test it so, while he was there, I turned the system off to see if it would come back on. He assured me that there was a delay in my system. Then, he asked me to sign the paperwork and left. However, the system never came back on. So, that night, I put in a ticket for him to come back out. He couldn’t make it that business day on their side so they came out on a Saturday, which was outside of their normal business hour. He showed up, looked at my system again and said that we need a heating kit. He said that it will be a special order and I told him it was okay. Come Monday, I received another phone call from the contractor and they told me that my heating kit was in.

He showed up on Tuesday and tried to change it but he realized that he had the wrong heating kit. So, he asked if he could take my heating kit with him. I agreed and then, the next business day, I got a call from American Home Shield to say that there was water damage on my heating kit. They still have my heating kit and they still haven’t returned it. I called an AHS representative and I was told that she was gonna escalate it. Then yesterday, I spoke with the rep and she asked if they could bring my heating kit right then and there. But it was 2 o’clock in the afternoon and I’m at work. I told her they would have to come after 5:00 but I was told that she has to put on a schedule and let me know. I’ve already taken off three days of work to resolve it with these people and I haven’t heard from them since. It is funny that when the contractor took my heating kit, he never mentioned anything about water damage. After they all went home, I inspected my closet where my furnace is and I didn’t see any water damage in the ceiling. I am without heat for over a week and I just want my heating kit back.

I sent the machine's make and model and what was wrong and I received a confirmation of an assigned technician through email and phone number.

AHS gave us Gen Tech, a company which they said specialized in our type of washing machine and that we would probably be satisfied with. It took two days longer to schedule an appointment because of that, but it was worth the wait. When I called them to confirm setting up an appointment, they indicated that they were aware of my claim, so I guess they got emails from AHS too. We talked, and they set the time to send technicians over. The techs came in and they figured out the issue quickly. They had to get parts so we had to wait for that. But they had the parts shipped by express so they could get them quickly. The next day, they came back and fixed the machine. They were very good and courteous and they knew exactly what to do.

I submitted a claim to AHS because when we used the heat, the fan outside would turn off. The contractor that American Home Shield sent reset it, so it came back on and we thought it was fixed. About an hour after the contractor left, it turned off again, so he came back out and determined that there was a part that he needed to replace. Then we noticed that it was happening also with the AC, in the meantime, while we were waiting for the part. When he came out today to do the repair, I told him that the AC was doing the same thing and now, he determined that it's the compressor as well that is turning it off. He didn't recognize the other issue because we were only dealing with the heat at the time as it was cold but the communication with him was good.

AHS only paid $10 a pound for the Freon and we had to pay the additional $50 a pound, so we paid about 440 bucks. The contractor said that he would have to do it again for the compressor and that he wants to do it all at one time. The service hasn't been completed yet but other than that, we're very happy that we have a warranty. Having it is very valuable. For the price, American Home Shield definitely covers a lot of stuff. This is our first time using a warranty and we're definitely going to keep one from now on.

Hoping this can be fixed simply. Found my Noritz water heater was leaking Jan 30. Made a service request and had a competent technician visit the house the next day. He spent some time on the phone with Noritz Tech Support and determined that a replacement Noritz NR-98 SV was called for. Key was this Noritz unit has the same GPM capacity and uses the existing piping.

Somehow the installer and AHS procurement offices decided to order a Rinnai VN4IN water heater (less capacity) that could not be installed with existing piping. Installer quoted me over $1,000 to re-pipe for the install. The Houston plumbing distributor where the Rinnai is to be sourced also has 3 of the Noritz NR-98 SV. Price difference is less than $100 (to me). Hoping we can get this resolved and change equipment to Noritz - so I don't have to waste $1000 on unneeded re-piping. Will update once this claim is resolved. Hope AHS does the right thing.

I recently researched home warranty companies in order to purchase new coverage for our home. I meticulously researched prices, coverage and consumer reviews and decided that American Home Shield was the best option for the money. I paid the full annual contract price online of $823.88 in December of 2018 and looked forward to coverage beginning in 30 days. It is February 2019 and I just received an unexpected bill for $57.67. It says "Past Due Notice".

I contacted the company and, after explaining that I had paid the quoted contract price in full two months ago, they told me that I had to pay this extra for "taxes". This is NOT the contract price I paid for. It may seem like a small amount but when you invest a large sum like this upfront and are told it is the Annual Price paid in full, it is deceptive to later bill your client for additional fees. These fees could be anything. They can call it taxes but I have never purchased something and been billed for taxes 2 months later. It significantly affects my trust in this company from the very start of our relationship. It also affects a person's ability to make an informed decision regarding the price you are paying for these warranties company to company.

I just suggest you beware of additional fees and costs they will bill you when considering using this company. Additionally, they refused to make it right when I asked them to either waive the fee or reduce my contract price so that I did not have to pay this extra fee. They declined to work with me. I also want to make clear that we have not filed a service request. I'm glad we have not needed to use it yet because the recent Past Due Notice indicates that since we are "past due" we could experience a "lapse in coverage". I paid the "fee" today and will be very interested to see how this company handles a service request if we should have an issue.

They stated they had to give the plumber 24 hours to respond. After a week of silence I called AHS back and they informed me A-American was the only plumber in Charleston they have under contract and they would find a Independent to come out and offer a second opinion.

2 weeks passed and no contact from AHS. I called again and was informed that my case had been reviewed and closed based on the information submitted originally by A-American. Bottom line is they have only A-American Plumbing under contract and have no other options. I have used AHS in the past and was pleased with their service. They have done a 180 to the south.

On Feb. 2, 2019, our heater stopped working, I called AHS to have a Heating and Air Service Contractor come to fix the problem. In the past we always asked for Ample air to come out because they were very reliable and knew their business. Unfortunately they don’t service our area any longer so the customer Service Rep helped me with locate another contractor close to where we live and had good reviews. Derek ** of ASCENT MECHANICAL, came out, he was a very professional young man, knew his job and fixed the problem. My husband and I were very impressed with him. There are not many contractors out there that know what they're doing when it comes to heating and air. I highly recommend Derek **, if you live the the Inland Empire area.

My refrigerator was not making ice and because it wasn't really serious, A & L Appliance came out two weeks after I filed the claim with American Home Shield. Besides, when I had called, the gal was very efficient. There was water dripping out from underneath at that time and she asked if I could pull the refrigerator out and turn off that little tap behind it. She said that would top the leak until they could get here. But she also said told me to let her know if it does not work and they would call back if they could come on an emergency call. But we did exactly as she told us to and all was good. We were able to turn the tap off and wait for them to come.

A & L came out twice although the technician thought he had it the first time. There was just a pipe that wasn’t a good one so he replaced it. But I enjoyed working with him. He was a very nice person – very personable, attentive and friendly. He was efficient and knowledgeable too. Everything works fine now. The refrigerator is an older machine. We’re lucky it’s still working. So far, my experience with American Home Shield has been good as well.

But I don't like the company they sent the third time, the people that came and that tried to report people. The guy said that I had to change the whole thing and it would cost me $7,500. But I called Roto-Rooter and they did it for $200. I've been with AHS for three years now, and every claim, I had the same issue. They won't honor the claim. They said it's not covered, and they won’t do any job. They said it's outside the property. I'm very dissatisfied with AHS and I don't recommend them anymore to anybody. As soon as the term is over, I will switch to a different company.

It’s a lot easier for me to submit a claim online than over the phone. We just go online, submit a claim, and then we get a call. The tech from Abbott that was sent out was good, and he did the job quickly and easily. He fixed our broken thermostat perfectly and now everything works fine. It used to be that we had to manually adjust the thermostat when it got cold or hot or turn it on or off. Now, we have it set, and it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. We've had American Home Shield for about four years, and, so far, it has been very positive. It’s been very simple and easy to use.

The microwave wouldn’t work. I was cooking and had vegetables in it. The vegetables got cooked, but when I reached in to take them out, they were not cold but they weren’t as hot as they usually are. I started to reset a few more minutes on the microwave and it was completely dead. I submitted a claim with American Home Shield over the phone and the rep that I spoke to was great. AHS sent out the contractor, Josh’s Appliance Repair. The technician that came out was very nice, but he wasn’t able to fix the microwave because the parts have to be ordered and so I’m waiting. It may take 10 days to two weeks to get the parts.

When we first moved in, we had to get the door locks repaired. But the next day when we got our security system, AHS put new locks on the doors and didn’t charge us anything at all, so they intended to do that. They changed the locks and made them all the same where the same key will open the front door and the back door. That was what we wanted done so we wouldn’t have so many keys. Both of our experiences with AHS have been good and I’m looking forward to working with them. Our first year on the warranty was paid for already by the mortgage company when we got our loan, then I’m gonna continue it afterwards.

We’ve had American Home Shield for 20 months now and the best part about it is the ease of being able to request stuff online, as opposed to waiting through a prompt system or a live agent. It's nice to talk to somebody but at the same time, if I just need to tell them that “My furnace is busted. Come by whenever you want to,” and then they automatically send the ticket out.

Recently, the oven wasn’t heating properly so I filed a claim for it online. The contractor called and asked when he could come out. I told him, "This afternoon." And they're like, "That'd be great. We have a guy in the area." They came out, called before he showed up, rang the doorbell, handed us his business card before he entered. My wife and I felt comfortable. We invited him in, showed him where the appliance was and he got to work. Then, while he was in the house, he tried to find the part, told us where the part was. He wrote a ticket and was out the door and told us that they’ll call us as soon as they get the part. His forecast would be 2 weeks before they get the part. Four days later, he called me back and said, "Hey, I'm in the area. Can I stop by and install the part?" And I said, "Yeah. Come on down." It took him 15mins to work on it and so far, the oven is working.

American Home Shield’s website was good and easy enough. It didn’t take much time so, I liked that. I got a contractor over within a day or two and I’m very satisfied. The contractor came to fix four different problems at first. It was two toilets that were moving, one faucet that was leaking and then the shower bowl. On the first call, they were able to take care of all the toilets and they attempted to fix the faucet. They also installed a new bowl but it wasn't working properly. So, they came in a second time, attempted to fix the leak again and it didn't work. They realized that the faucet had a defective valve so they had to come back and exchanged the valve. They came back a third time and were able to fix the valves but I still have the leak on the sink faucet.

AHS should be more proactive about replacing old stuff. They tried way too many times to fix things. Also, when they send people over and over to fix the same thing, they have to realize that we are working people. So, I'm asking for time off from work every single time somebody has to come and fix something. I know how much it cost to send a technician out and if they would replace things instead, it would be more cost-effective for them and for the customer. Nevertheless, having a warranty is very valuable. I have had it for almost eight years and it's worth it. People should go for it.

My water heater wasn't getting hot anymore and I had to press reset in order to refill it everyday. I called American Home Shield to submit a claim and they sent a repair company out. The guy came last Wednesday and he said the problem was with the heating element. He changed it and told me to wait an hour so I could refill and heat up. However, everyday since then, I still have to go out and press the reset button for the unit to refill and heat up again. I called American Home Shield and I wasn't pleased with what happened.

The company that came out diagnosed the situation without coming back out so American Home Shield called back and told me what they said that they needed to order another hot water heater. That was fine but then, they started telling me all these extra charges that I would have to pay for that wasn’t included such as a $50 fee, a $200 fee and extra parts. My water heater was replaced two years ago and I don’t remember having to pay anything out of pocket then, other than the service charge.

Also, my oven got damaged before due to lights. AHS didn’t cover that part and so I still have to buy a new stove. Then, when I had to get my AC fixed, I ended up having to pay the Freon fee, which was expensive, since they don't cover that. Even though I’m paying for the insurance, I still have to pay some high expenses out of pocket. So I'm not too happy with the way my experience with American Home Shield is working out. The only issue I have right now is when I turn the thermostat up to 2 degrees, the icon starts blinking. That means the heat strips are on. Besides that, the heat pump seems to be working okay. They changed the compressor and the readings are good. Right now, I'm happy with it and I really like the company.

But I wasn't happy with the ones who came out before. That was AJS. They didn't spend any time and just all at once, they tried to send me a 4,500 unit. I didn't appreciate that. They didn't try to fix the thing but Myers came out, troubleshot it and did a good job. Also, I had a little communication problem with AHS. They said they were gonna cancel AJS and then send out Myers. But then, I got a call from AJS and they said they were coming out. But then we rescheduled and Myers came back out so everything was fine. I'm thankful that the heat pump got repaired.

We also had a refrigerator. On the left side of the fridge, it would freeze everything, and on the right side, it was normal. The techs came out and replaced some circuit boards and it didn't solve the problem. They told me I had a choice to either go to select a refrigerator online or go to Lowe's and pick one out. So I went to Lowe's and they replaced the refrigerator. Everything worked good and I was really happy with that. Overall, American Home Shield has been good. I filed a claim on a microwave oven that stopped working and immediately filed a claim with AHS. They assured me that someone would be out to my house in a couple of days. They sent a technician from Sears in about three days, however, the tech looked at the brand of microwave and told me and AHS that he did not work on that brand of microwave and he left! Still no working microwave! Later AHS sent in a new request for a local tech to schedule an appointment to come to our house. We waited several days and no show.

I called AHS again and was told who was suppose to be coming to my house and they gave me the name and phone number of the tech that would be coming. I called the tech to set up the appointment and was told by the tech that the microwave job was too small and I should just go and buy me a new one. I explained to him that I had coverage through AHS and the microwave was suppose to be covered! I called AHS to tell them what he said and they refuse to hear it and kept calling the tech anyway and still no show.

Later, the tech called me and said he didn't know if he was covered to work on AHS product which by then I am aggravated and wanted to be assigned a new tech because of his bad attitude! AHS did not want to hear it and insisted that I would have to use him. No way was I allowing this tech in my home with this terrible attitude! I canceled the insurance with AHS and now they are claiming that I owe them a 100.00 for services that I did not get! This is the worst warranty ever. I purchased a home in Arizona last April, almost 10 months ago. A month later the refrigerator was leaking water into the freezer. The refrigerator was still working so not an emergency. Thank goodness! I was "on hold" for 1.5 hours! The website would not allow me to submit the claim for some silly reason.

About 6 months later the same problem arose. This time the repair person complained that the plumber before him installed the part incorrectly. As he was taking out the "improper part" there was an electrical arc and 3-4 components in the refrigerator were fried. The company who American Home Shield (AHS) sent out did not fix "self-contained" parts. So the refrigerator is NOT working, there is a sick 2 year old in the home, without refrigeration for any milk or food.... food in the refrigerator is going to spoil. This was Thursday. The company AHS assigned did not have any availability until Monday. Had to go buy a small refrigerator to keep going. Runyan Appliance did come out on Monday and told us it would cost about $1,000 to repair the 16 year old refrigerator. BUT the parts were not available and would take about 2 weeks! Because the refrigerator was still "repairable" AHS won't replace it.

It has already been a week... so we will have been without a refrigerator for THREE WEEKS!! I do not find that acceptable. There has to be emergency repair people on call, AND there has to be some economically sound alternative rather than spending $1,000 on a refrigerator which has needed several other repairs already.

Well, this is 9 month later, the job is not done and no follow up from either the AHS or the contractor. I keep calling them every 2 weeks and get the same answer - the part is backordered. This is total BS as we cannot cook on the stove as the smoke alarm keeps going off when we have a bit of steam coming out. Well, now the steam is coming out of my ears based on their awful service. What they need to do is to replace the whole damn fan instead of just one part if the inventory is a problem. That is why it is called "Insurance". But they are trying to save every penny. I cannot understand how this company has any good reviews.

One time, we could not use any of the buttons in our microwave and we couldn’t turn it on. I went online to file a claim with American Home Shield and A&D was able to get to us quickly. The technician was very nice, but they had to order a part and that took about a week. Now the microwave is perfect.

We paid the deductible and the contractors came out in a couple of days and they fixed it. It was a pretty positive experience with the contractors. Everything's good and perfect since the contractors left. I'm pretty much recommending AHS to everybody.

I’ve always been very satisfied with American Home Shield. Everybody that I've dealt with from those that they have dispatched, even for plumbing or HVAC, has provided prompt service. They've been excellent. American Home Shield's website is very user-friendly too. I filed a claim online for a leaking toilet and on the same day, I got an email that Chesapeake Plumbing would contact me regarding the service. On the following day, I got a call from them to do the schedule and everything worked out okay afterwards. The technician showed me which part was the issue and he replaced it. Inside the water tank behind the toilet, there's a part that lifts to get the water down. Then there's a round part that clogs the hole at the bottom. But when it gets old, it curves around the outside and that was why the water leaked through. Water just kept running into the toilet. But the water has stopped running and now, I’m saving a lot on the water bill.

American Home Shield has totally ripped us off. We had a terrible experience with our pool system. We had the pool people come and they did a major fix. It should have been covered, but they didn’t do that. After that, we had a claim with the dishwasher. The dishwasher drawer just would flop down and not stay open or it would slam down. So they came, ordered the parts and they replaced them. They said, “Well, that’s just where it's gonna be.” So of course, we paid the $75 fee. Then I kept telling them about the dishwasher and they keep trying to come here. We moved to Hoover, Indiana. They would show up at our door and they knew we were in Indiana. So it went beyond the time limit and they wouldn’t do anything unless we would pay again. It was horrible from American Home Shield. So we called out a private individual, Mr. Appliance, that came and fixed it.

Recently, American Home Shield sent Bexar Appliance Repair to fix the icemaker on the refrigerator. They were wonderful. They were knowledgeable and helpful. They fixed the problem. We will continue to use them for our regular needs and they will be the ones we’ll call. We had a good experience with the fridge. But overall, we’ve had a bad experience with AHS.

American Home Shield sent AC Wizard for my heating issue and the two guys that came out were really great. They were friendly and they fixed everything. They also explained things, answered my questions and made sure that I understood them. When I contacted AHS for service, I didn’t know what the issue was. It just didn’t seem like my heat was working. It would run a while, kick off, but only for about a minute and then it was kicking back on. The guys took the broken thermostat. You could touch it and the temperature would shoot up so it really wasn’t measuring it very well. And so they changed out the thermostat to the one that was correct. I had another thermostat and they replaced it for me. They also explained the issue of the older plate and that the warranty doesn’t cover going up in the condo ceiling and tearing open stuff like that.

It was my first time to make a claim and it was very easy. I did it online and they were really prompt with the whole process and being able to get the repair guys out. There was a notification that said they received the claim and that they would be contacting me within 24 hours, and they did. I felt like I was informed through the whole process, which was good, and I didn’t feel like I was waiting around. AHS also gave me options as to the companies that they would send out, which was great, and I was provided with great service. I would recommend AHS.

We’ve had American Home Shield since we purchased the house in late June of last year. My experience has been very good and I’m very pleased with the service. I usually submit my claims online and it usually takes a contractor anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to contact me once I submit my claim. Doing it online gives me a hard copy, and I can see it in solid and I can write down and record everything.

We have a Samsung French Door refrigerator and there is a little plastic flap that blocks the area between the two doors when you close them to keep the refrigerator cold on the inside. The spring in the little flap suddenly broke. It wouldn’t flip back so when you close the door, the flap would get caught between the doors. We couldn’t get the doors closed and keep the coolant in the refrigerator. We called for the repairman to come out and look at it, and they called us and showed up on time. The tech said he couldn’t change the spring and he had to get a hold of the unit, so he ordered a new unit and put it in. Now, when we close our refrigerator door, the spring causes the flap to flip back into the correct position, and the door closes and it seals. It was a lot of work for a simple appliance, but everything was perfect.

AHS has always been very dependable and the people that have shown up have been very professional. They fix things very quickly, efficiently and easily. We intend to renew our subscription as long as the price doesn’t go up too much. It's nice to know that we are protected. If anything goes wrong, all I got to do is go to the computer, punch in some numbers and somebody comes.

I purchased my home in June of last year and it came with a home warranty from American Home Shield. There was a time when my furnace was making a lot of noise, and it didn't sound like it was running right. Submitting a claim to AHS was pretty easy. I called AHS to take a look at the furnace and went through the initial email that they sent me. It told me exactly what I needed to do to submit a claim. I had to put in like a credit card number for the deductible, and I could have it charged at the time that you request an appointment, or whenever the technician comes to see me. It was very efficient and simple.

I received a text from AHS saying the contractor is gonna be from A-1, and then it was followed by a text from the technician himself, just keeping me up-to-date with when he was going to be at the house. He came to the house right when they said they would. He's very polite and asked where everything was at. It was a nice experience. He found some sort of issue with the furnace but he said it was more expensive to replace that part than it was to actually get a new furnace. So, he put the recommendation in. Shortly after that, he said it was approved and he scheduled a time for a new furnace to be installed. If I were to purchase a home again in the future and the seller offered a warranty through American Home Shield, it would be a selling point for me. I was a little apprehensive at first as I am not familiar with the warranty. But with this first experience I've had, that apprehension was put at ease.

In all of the cases, the quality of work and professionalism of the technicians who were out had been outstanding. The doorbell man did a really nice job when our doorbell did not work consistently. He checked the doorbell inside, the doorbell outside and the transformer downsize. Then, he took everything apart and recommended a basic doorbell that was very reasonable without any bells and whistles. He was a one-man show and when he got to work, it was tough for him to keep up with his cellphone. But, he called me back every day and even though it was colder than hell here, it was snowing and that it was tough to get around, all of the communication had been excellent.

We also had a plumber who came in to check out the shower because the shower unit had been leaking and it got into the Sheetrock. He got behind it and determined that there was no longer a leak. The current shower head in there is fine but we have to replace some of the Sheetrock that’s right underneath the shower. We had a leaky garbage disposal and Quandt Plumbing, the company that American Home Shield sent, was very prompt in response on a very nasty, cold day, and took care of the problem for us. That was an excellent experience. The only disappointment I had was when our furnace was failing back in November and we couldn't get a response in a very timely manner. It was that time of the year when temperatures were dropping and AHS had a lot of calls. They don’t have enough companies that were contracted to do work for them in the area of heating or cooling. They were just swamped. AHS should have a timely response when you wake up at your house and it's 56 degrees.

We eventually had to go out of network to get service and the service provided was outstanding. They were the same company that originally installed the furnace 20 years ago. There is a delay though in American Home Shield fulfilling their obligation to that company. I had followed up many times, trying to find out if the company got paid and I don't know if they did. When I log into American Home Shield, I can see the account as far as what claims have been opened and satisfied and which ones remain open. The last time I logged in, the claim from the furnace back in November was still open but I understand that AHS needed some paperwork from the furnace company.

Also, AHS should have the staffing to handle a lot of inbound calls when the weather goes bad. If you get on there and try to make a call to their 800 number, you can be on eternal hold and it's annoying when you're trying to make the claim during your business day. It’s time away from your duties. During the last process though, I found out that they have an option where I can schedule a callback, which worked really well. I can either submit the claim online which is not a big deal, especially if it's something not urgent. If it's something in need of immediate attention, then I like having that callback feature. Kudos to AHS for setting that up.

Michaels Electric, one of American Home Shield’s contractors, was absolutely outstanding. They resolved a problem with my quiet vent system. There were a couple of things that went wrong with it but the guys from Michaels Electric stayed with the problem and got it fixed. I was very impressed with their service and the speed of resolution. Anything from Michaels Corporation regardless of the industry has always been top professional and I have nothing bad to say about any of the contractors that AHS has employed. I just wished they had more heating and air conditioning people at the time we initially called for that problem back in November. Other than that, we're sticking with American Home Shield. I would recommend them to any homeowner because it has been that useful to us in the past. We've had this service in South Carolina and we were happy to sign up with them again in Wisconsin. The service is too valued.

It would say which days a technician is available but the schedule is not an exact time. You can select either morning, mid-day or afternoon. It’s easy to submit a claim. But after you submit it, when you come back a few days later to check what time it was that you scheduled the service for, you can't pull any of that information. You can see that you’ve submitted the claim but you can’t see any of the details of it. That part was a little frustrating. Nonetheless, we've been happy with American Home Shield. Having a warranty is very valuable and although I've had them in the past, this is my first year to do American Home Shield and the coverage is much better. I haven't had any issues so far. It has covered everything that I’ve made a claim on and the repairs have been made.

American Home Shield has sent Sears for a few claims and Sears has been wonderful. I've been happy with their service. They don’t mind explaining what they are looking at and when they’ve finished troubleshooting, they would tell you what parts they have to order. The most recent claim was with our washing machine and the previous one was for a faulty ice maker in our refrigerator. We could not use the washing machine until it was repaired. But since Sears has made the repairs, we haven't had any problems. Those experiences were great.

In November 2018, our upstairs AC unit was no longer cooling. I submitted a claim to AHS and an HVAC technician was assigned promptly. I was charged a $75 service fee for the visit. The technician diagnosed an evaporator coil leak and recommended a replacement. However, he continued to discuss the costs and escalated the price of non-covered items to roughly $1500. $600 of this was the cost of the refrigerant ($80/lb, consistent with AHS documentation) and the rest was associated with "code compliance" issues he said had to be addressed. He proceeded to offer up the option of replacing the entire system, which he "quoted" to be about the same price as the repair (further research proved this to be an impossible price for this size unit).

AHS contacted us with the official estimates and I asked how long before I needed to make a decision. I was told to take my time and contact them whenever I was ready. As it was winter, the AC was a low priority. We evaluated the options (including getting quotes from other contractors to repair/replace the system) and contacted AHS again in January 2019. At that point, I was told that it had been longer than 60 days and so I needed to start the entire process over, including the $75 service fee. I scheduled the appointment. The new contractor (different from first) came to diagnose the system and, despite some discrepancies in the findings, diagnosed the same evaporator coil leak.

Without further discussion, the technician left and we were later contacted by AHS. The subsequent estimate was $2383 of non-covered costs ($80/lb refrigerant consistent with AHS documentation... although a different quantify of refrigerant in this estimate plus non-covered "code compliance" issues). This is on top of the covered repair. I had received a quote from an independent contractor at this stage and it was $2600 for the entire job to replace the coil without a need for any of the "code compliance" work.

We had decided to replace the system regardless (15 years old), so I requested a cash-in-lieu offer from American Home Shield per their contract language. The offer that was brought back was for $166 for the complete evaporator coil replacement (compared to $2600 estimate from independent contractor). This is small fraction of the cost even assuming a massive (50%+) discount for a negotiated rate with their contractors. The cost to AHS of the refrigerant alone would have been $90 per their own documentation (covering $10/lb, 9 lb). That means the cost of the coil replacement (material and labor) would be $76. I pressed the agent on the phone and was finally informed that the cost is really $366, but I was being deducted $210 for labor to date.

This labor to date was a 45 minute visit to diagnose the issue, for which I had already paid $75. Had I elected to continue with the coil replacement, this would have been 100% covered by AHS. I cannot find anything in the contract language identifying the need to pay this labor to date cost if you choose the cash-in-lieu option. The estimate for the repair did not include this cost in any way. When I pressed for an avenue to appeal that amount, I was told that there is nothing that can be done to change the offer. With warmer weather approaching here in Texas, I had to press on with the system replacement and was left with no choice but to accept that offer.

AHS is extremely dishonest in its practices. They engage in contracts with service providers to encourage the repair contractors to pass on false charges to the consumer in order to cover their losses on the "warranty" repair. These false charges are put forth to the consumer as required to continue coverage of the system (failure to complete "code compliance" work will void warranty). When asked for details of the code requirements with a reference to the code, I was simply given the list of work items again.

Between the two contractors that came out, the list of "code compliance" issues wasn't even the same. Then, when asked to pay out in lieu of the repair, they quote the nonsensical "contract" price as what they owe. Given the 2 service fees that I paid for the contractor visits (one just to tell me what I already knew), I net $16 toward my costs to replace the entire system out of pocket. I've never been a fan of home warranties, but this experience has proven to me how big of a scam they really are. Anything beyond a small appliance repair or piping plug, it isn't even worth it to call them.

Updated on 07/01/2019: I have 2 accounts with AHS, one a rental property and the second my home. Earlier this year I reported a refrigerator repair at my rental unit. After two months of no resolution and numerous calls to AHS they still expected me to wait for another appliance repair company to service the appliance. At that time I filed a Consumer Affairs report against AHS. AHS's complaint department contacted me right away and resolved the issue within a matter of a week.

Now my home refrigerator stopped working and once again I am running into the same problems. A service technician has been to my house 3 times in a month and still cannot fix the appliance. I have been out of a refrigerator for 5 weeks and being told by AHS I must wait longer. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! AHS has VERY poor customer service. They have on numerous occasions hung up the phone on me when I have asked to speak to a supervisor. Anyone looking for a home warranty company needs to think twice before signing up with American Home Shield.

Original Review: I have been a long time customer of AHS Warranty and have not had a problem until my recent issue. My refrigerator stopped cooling. I placed the service request the 4th of the month, it's now the 5th of the following month and I still have no working refrigerator. Repair service has been out 3 times and keep replacing parts but to no avail. I have called both the warranty co and repair service co for 2 days and have gotten nowhere. I'm told they are still trying to find parts. I feel as a customer I am not being heard. It has been 3 hours today I have been on the phone and I continue to be disconnected every time I call AHS. I have complained and all I'm told they will report the issue. There appears to be no way to resolve any issues with this company. They do not value their customers and feel it's acceptable that the customer can live without a refrigerator for over a month with no resolution in sight.

Updated on 02/12/2019: So, the Ms. ** from AHS calls me and pretends to care. She says that she will review my situation and see how they can help to make it right. Then creates a hypothetical explanation that simply doesn't work. THEY LOST MY PART and now my stove is rendered inoperable. But, I am responsible for the costs to replace it. After "looking into it," Ms. ** comes back with the brilliant advice that I file suit against the repair company that was doing the work. Not the company that they recommended to repair the part and subsequently lost it. Nope not them, sue the repair company.

Again, even if this was the recourse, shouldn't they be the ones taking care of this. Isn't AHS supposed to make home ownership easier? Aren't they supposed to be the customer's advocate in taking care of situations like this? I guess not. We haven't had an operating stove since before Thanksgiving. AHS solution is for me to sue a service company that acted on their behalf and wait how ever long that process takes to get a new stove. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO PEOPLE TAKING OWNERSHIP FOR THEIR ERRORS AND THEN DOING THE RIGHT THING TO FIX IT?!

Original Review: Our control board on our range went out the week of Thanksgiving. Called AHS and they sent someone right out. Great. Said it needed to be rebuilt. Great. Part comes in January. OK. Tech opens box and part isn't there. WHAT? Call service company and they tell me AHS closed the service call and should've called me to let me know they're going to replace it. OK. I call AHS. They tell me yes, replacement because they lost the part. Offered my $3,000 for my $10,000 stove. Nope. AHS Options tells me to call Customer Service dept and they can authorize more to replace it, since they LOST my part.

Mind you, I only asked them to go up to $5,000 to get me a new stove. Called today and spent over an hour on the phone. First told NO, $3,000 is the limit, then told maybe Options can help you. (Even though Options said Service could.) Ask me to hold and then hang up on me. SO DONE! This is absurd. How can they lose a part, and hold the customer accountable for their error? Contract or no, what happened to doing the right thing??

The technician who came out was professional and I like him. He replaced a part. And then, the gas valve messed up so he had to come back another day to have that one replaced also. There was a little bit of delay because he thought the part won't ignite, but then it ended up the gas valve was broken. I had to call back to the company to verify and make sure it was covered. And then it had to wait to locate where the part was, so he could pick it up. I didn’t have enough time to wait, so I had to reschedule another day. But it's good and I'm happy with the service.

I pay American Home Shield the monthly fee and then I pay $75 when a person comes out. When submitting a claim, I call or go online and put in what I need to be looked at. This time, I called AHS for my furnace. I didn’t have any heat and it was freezing as hell. The contractor came and looked at the unit. It needed a part and they ordered it. Then they came the next week and put it in.

One time, my refrigerator wasn’t keeping cold, so a tech came and I asked him what was going on. He said it was done and that it had to be replaced, and the way he put it to me was that I had to come out of pocket and just buy another refrigerator. So that was what we did. But I was very upset because I thought that the appliance was gonna be fixed. Also, the guy that was sent had an attitude, and I could lean almost towards being prejudiced.

Then on my next claim, I was told that the sump pump needed to be fixed, but it would cost me $700 because they would replace the pump as it was not up to code. I pulled the contract out because I wanted to see about the sump pump. Then I realized after reading that they should have replaced the refrigerator, and they didn’t. The contract said that if they didn’t fix it, they were to replace it, but when I called to complain, the only thing that the AHS rep did was apologize. Now, when I go into my account online, they don’t even have it listed in there about the refrigerator. They have it listed like I had something done to my AC, which at the time, I didn’t. I was thinking about canceling AHS. To me, as long as the claim is something small, AHS will honor the warranty. But if it’s something bigger, they find ways to try to get out of it. I'm not satisfied with AHS and the warranty is not even worth it to me anymore.

The furnace would come on but not all the time. Most of the day, it wasn’t on and we had to turn it off and on to get it to go. It was failing and made a click sound over and over. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and navigating the website was super easy. We were told that it was the ignition nozzle which was burnt out and when the contractor came in, he said it was hot. So, he switched that out and then, it clicked on. It has been running ever since and everything has been performing perfectly. He was nice and even asked if I wanted to learn how to change stuff in the furnace. He even replaced our thermostat because it was old and had Mercury. He did it free of charge. He had an extra one and he put in on there for us. It was a great interaction.

I was skeptical at first in getting a warranty but it’s super valuable. It made us feel a lot less stressed and it was an easy $75 deposit. If you wanna have less pain and frustration in just dealing with who you would call and what you would do when there’s an issue, American Home Shield is the best way. It makes budgeting a lot easier because you’re not worried about giving several hundred dollars on stuff.

Our furnace had stopped functioning so, I went online to file a claim to American Home Shield and in 20 minutes, I got a call from the company that was gonna come out and take a look at it. Then, another 10 minutes after that and I got a call from them to set up the appointment. Piggybacking both of those things was American Home Shield sending me a text message to let me know that these things were going to happen. And so they called to set the appointment.

The guy came out and in that process of the guy getting ready to come out for the appointment, I got a text message from American Home Shield saying that the guy was on his way. I could track him and they gave me a map of where he was at and where he was going to, which was our house. Then, he arrived and diagnosed the problem and then left and ordered the part. The same thing happened when they got that part in. I got a text message, got the part, and the electrical company called us and said they were gonna come out and install it. We got that notice again from American Home Shield and tracking his progress as he left to come to see us. And when he was here, he got it all taken care of and there was not a problem. It went really well.

I’m an agent for Farmers Insurance and whenever I’m talking to a client about their home coverage and about appliances and things and they say they got an older home, I always talk to them about getting a warranty on everything and always, the only company that I ever mention is American Home Shield. I might go on a to a little bit detail on my experiences with them which has always been excellent. In fact, I took out a second policy because I’ve got a mobile home that my sister lives in. I thought I probably need to get something for her because she sure can’t afford to replace the things that would break. So, I took out a policy for her and on December, her heater went down on her and American Home Shield came out and replaced the motor. I definitely recommend them.

When I made the claim online, AHS said, "This company will be calling you." The next day the contractors called me around 10 o'clock Eastern Time. They said they would be out there the following day. They wanted everything done online, like doing the appointments online as well, but by the time they get to it, a day has gone by. So I always call and once I got in, it is not usually too bad and a contractor would be out the very next day. However, this time, it did not happen. I do not know what companies they use and almost every time they come out, they tell me that they don’t have the part on their truck or they have to order it. There have been cases where it’s been a week or two. With me, I had a second refrigerator at one point because it took almost two weeks to get a part. Even the technician said they should’ve replaced the refrigerator because it was $700 in repairs.

On the other hand, when my microwave went out, they told me to go out and get a new microwave. It has been good and bad. Also, I do not like that AHS changed their policy. They used to replace a unit if it went out but now, they put a limit of $3,000 which does not do anything for a unit. Their service fee has gone way up as well. It used to be $50 but it is $80 now plus the monthly cost. But the contractor, Comfort First, came right out for my heater claim and the guy had the part on the truck. He replaced the motherboard on the air holder and it is working fine now.

I had a heating issue, for which I submitted a claim online, and then someone from the heating company called me within a couple of hours. The contractors that came out were very professional. If they were on the rug, they wore shoe covers, which was great, and the tech explained what he did. It was a very positive experience. And the heating has been working great since.

I've also had claims for my fridge and microwave and the AHS contractors came out, which was great. For the refrigerator, a company came out and fixed it but a month later, it broke again. So we had to do another claim and then a different company came out and did the microwave at the same time. It just took a little longer before the second company could come out. I wish they had just called me to set up an appointment instead of texting back and forth for two days. Other than that, everything with AHS has been quick, simple and satisfactory. I share with people that I’ve had a great experience and being a realtor, I’ve been sending AHS to my clients to use as well.

He had to order a part and when they called, he said it would take a week and he would call when it comes in. Then, they called and said that it should be in tomorrow and that they would call to set up an appointment date. Tomorrow came and Saturday, Monday and Tuesday but there was no call. We didn’t hear from them. We called them earlier to find out if the part came and it was true. I called back on Tuesday and told them that they need to call me. I gave them till Wednesday and if I don’t hear from them, I’m gonna call American Home Shield. I told them to communicate with me. If they couldn't come today, I could be patient but I need to know what the status was.

The technician called and even came early for the appointment. He was a good repair person but he needs to communicate a little bit better. He told me to keep an eye on the icemaker. He replaced one part and he said that often fixes it. There is another part that could potentially have to be replaced but they don't replace that until they find out if this fix worked. We're getting ice right now and the ice maker seems to be working so hopefully that will do the trick. I love having AHS. It's nice to know that I've got that deductible amount because I would probably grumble and live without an icemaker in the days gone by because I don't know what it'll cost to fix it. I have recommended them so I'm very satisfied with them. We've had a few claims throughout time and I've never had any problems with them.

I had an issue with my washer and dryer. I called in a claim with American Home Shield and they sent out a guy from Fort Bend Appliance. I called on Tuesday to see about them coming Friday since I get off early on Fridays but the guy was in the area that Tuesday and he met me when I got off of work. I didn’t have to wait three days. He came in and got my washer and dryer taken care of. He was good.

My washer would not spin, so he lifted it up. He said there was something caught off in there from a quilt I had done that busted and all that fiber came out into it. He cleaned all of that really good and got it going back. He said it’s an older washer but it was still in pretty good condition. Since then, it has been doing its job. As for my dryer, I had to spin it three times for it to get hot. But he went in and cleaned up whatever that thing is in the back and said that it was in good condition. I needed to replace that too, but it would be fine with or without it. In fact, it’s cold sometimes in the garage and that heat won’t bother it until the summer. Then, we’ll get one of those things that go behind it. So, we’re good to go.

About a month ago, I also called them for some plumbing issue and they fixed that, too. So, I’m pretty good with Home Shield. They have been very helpful to me and I’ve recommended them to people. One time, I needed a locksmith but they don’t do that. Still, they gave me information to get a locksmith. I have AHS for about three years now. Initially, I got them when I went to Germany and a friend of mine told me that I should have American Home Shield. She said that they're gonna help me with my water heater, so when I got back in the States, I got the warranty. And it has been a plus for me. I try not to call in unless I really need the service. I’m not one of those people that abuse it.

American Home Shield has been good at getting somebody out and doing what I needed to do. They have been good at setting my claims up and it happens quickly. When my 28-year-old microwave sparked and was not working, a guy came out and I was told that the microwave was not worth repairing. But when they called me, I was working so I didn't take the call. It took me three days of calling to finally get somebody to get to the next stage. I was on hold for a half hour on those three times which was not fun. I didn't have that kind of time available. Also, they didn't call me back a second time on follow-up. They just left me a message that they were going to replace it and for me to call. I went online to figure out how to do it and I sent them everything but I haven't had the chance to try to find out if I sent it right.

I had the option of purchasing a new microwave myself. I also told them to replace the stove too since we were also having a problem with it. I just couldn't be bothered trying to wait and see and spend the money for them to repair. If they thought the stove could be repaired, then it wasn't gonna match what I had. So I ended up replacing the stove at the same time on my own because I didn't wanna have somebody come back out. Right now, I would like to know where the status is on what I submitted. The process for getting reimbursed is hard. I faxed over what they told me to on the receipt and all the information. It said that if I don't receive my check in 10 to 14 days, I’d have to call back. I don't have the time to sit on the phone to call them back and I have not looked today yet to see if I've got any confirmation.

American Home Shield had been usually good in coming if it was a repair but my biggest problem was the replacement. And the other time, I ran into an issue when we had a problem with one of the toilets backing up. The plumber said that the policy is that they won't try and clear a pipe if there's a septic, unless the septic has been cleared of the problem. I have a septic coverage but under the septic wasn't covered so I had to hire somebody. I had to pay for the septic to be checked, which had only been cleaned to make sure it wasn't in the septic before they would come back out again. It took a lot of time. It was backing up and they charged me twice, but then credited me. Other than that, I've had AHS several times for different things and I haven't had any real issues with them.

The contractor that American Home Shield chose was gonna come right away but it wasn’t an emergency and we were having other issues because of the weather. I told them they didn’t have to come out right away. So, they came within five days.

When the contractor arrived though, he said he had to come back because he was not equipped to do what he needed to do. So then he came back the next day and said that it was not wired properly originally. I told him that I doubted it because it has been happening for the last couple of years. He then said that it should not happen again, but, of course, it did happen again, so he came back. He replaced a valve when he was here previously and when he came back, he said he now has to replace another valve. He was gonna call me to set that up. Overall, though, American Home Shield is good.

When I flushed the toilet in the big bathroom, the tank wouldn't flow back up and the sink was stuck up. I submitted a claim over the telephone, but I wasn't too pleased with the service I had with the contractor American Home Shield sent. The tech came out and did the toilet within five minutes but he had to go out and buy the parts for the sink, but the store didn't have it. He had it in the office, so he told me to allow him back the next morning to fix the sink. But after 12:30, he was no show. I called the company and they said he was not gonna make it that day. I was very disappointed.

Today is Friday and I already have people coming to my house Saturday. I called and complained. I was begging the rep and said that I had company arriving here by noon tomorrow and I really need to have the sink fixed. She made a call somewhere, worked things out and sent somebody else. Another tech came because the first tech had taken another job. If you've taken up a job, then make sure somebody else is gonna take care of my job and finish up.

I live in the Midwest and we were expecting horrible cold temps and I had no heat. So when our furnace went out, we submitted a claim online and because it was on a Saturday and we couldn't get anyone out here or even be contacted until Monday, we also left a message to have someone call us back. They called us back in 45 minutes and they found someone to come out and we had someone out there in a couple of hours that afternoon.

I don’t have an issue setting things up online, but usually, when you call a home warranty company, it's usually something happening right now in real time. It's not something that always has the option of waiting for 48 hours before they can get a vendor to contact you. It would make it so much more convenient, if there was some kind of a line or if you could actually speak with someone instead of getting the recording that says, "Your whole time will exceed 45 minutes." And in instances like ours, you don’t want to wait an hour or two, you need somebody now.

On the other hand, hey covered everything and we’re happy with our experience. The contractor AHS sent out was very nice. We had a part that went out and they couldn't get the part until Monday. Then when they tried to get the part, no one had it in town and they had to order it. So, we were without heat except for a couple of space heaters for five days before they ever got back out here. When they went to put the part in, something else had broken. Luckily for us, it was a part that they were able to get, so they went to get it, came back and we've been fine ever since.

Been an AHS customer about three years and it’s a good service to have but recently I had a new hot water tank installed because the old one went bad and this hasn’t even been a year yet and this new hot water heater has stopped working. I went online to set up an appointment for someone to come out on a Saturday and they got back with me on Monday and told me they’ll be out on Friday to fix it. I called the 1-800 number to see if another company can come out but I was on hold for a long time and couldn’t wait any longer because I had to go to work. When I called about a previous issue before I was on hold for about three hours and I just couldn’t wait that long this time. The wait time is very poor when you call in and something should be done to fix this.

AHS will rip you off and leave you hanging. See the other recent reviews! It's all TRUE and exactly what I'm going through! Stay away. Submitted service request 1/3/2019 for washer & dryer. Service tech has been out 3x. 2x time, dryer that was having issues, but still working now does not work at all. Back again today with more parts. Still couldn't fix it. Washer parts apparently never coming in. The repairman said it's not even worth it to fix it. It's basically rebuilding the entire washer and with his labor it's way over what the washer is even worth. I have called AHS at least 20 times. Hold times are ridiculously long. I've called Customer Service, Authorizations & Parts depts. I've only had 1 person who was helpful - Sylvester **. Other than that, I've been disconnected at least 5 times, with no call back (they have my acct up, so they have my number).

Transferred to inoperable numbers, or like right this moment, told that he would contact the Parts Dept for me and to hold. I've been waiting for 45 mins waiting for him to return. Apparently, that's not going to happen. He obviously didn't want to deal with me, so I've been abandoned. I've wasted time on the phone. I've taken time off for service calls and now spent $60 at a laundromat. I demanded my service fee back, was told they would only give me half, and now when I log in, it's showing the full service fee as past due! They do not care about you. Reps could care less because there isn't accountability. If you call back, you get a different person, so oh well. I made the mistake of paying the year up front. Now that they have my money, it is obviously screw you. No way to talk to a complaint dept. My next step is to file a complaint with the BBB and share on any social media platform I can.

He didn't explain more than that and said my coverage would be unchanged so I said okay. Later when I needed service, I was charged because item wasn't covered. News to us because rep never told us we had been switch to "Pick Ten' nor, did he tell me what ten were now covered! Waited for hours to speak with retention only to be told sup would call me within 24-48 hours. I called back sup less than two minutes after they called but they/Tammy was out of office and she never called me back and now her voice mail is full! What a scam! Save your money and don't use this service! Just awful and the service companies they use are not vetted! Very very very bad product.

Updated on 05/20/2019: I have had an issue for over 6 months with my heating unit. AHS sent a tech out, the first tech stated there was an issue w/ the compressor, it shorted out and that I needed a new unit. AHS stated they would not pay for the unit because it was not normal wear and tear. I insisted they send another tech out for another diagnostic, they second tech came out and basically said the same thing but that it was just an old system and it was basic wear and tear. AHS only approved this company to replace the compressor. This company told me that AHS does not pay for FREON and I would have to pay $1300 for the freon fill. I agreed because I wanted my unit to work.

Long story short, that was not the solution, they then came back and said that it was the condenser backed up and the entire unit needed to be replaced and they still wanted their $1300 for fixing something that does not work. I have reached out to several reps to try to just get the payout and have someone else come and fix it but I was told the payout was only $150. I am furious. I need someone to reach out to me ASAP.

Original Review: I was advised by my realtor to get AHS. They did not repair my heating unit, saying that it was not normal wear and tear and that there was a electrical issue that caused my compressor to go out. The first company made this observation but the second company gave me totally different information. Customer service was no help, barely can understand. AHS guarantees that someone will be out within 24 hours and I had to wait over 7 days for an answer. Oh by the way, they gave me an answer via Facebook messenger and said call customer service if I had any other questions.

We have had the same issue with our faucet/dishwasher for a while and they can't get it right. The companies they contract with suck. I tried calling AHS and kept getting hung up on, there is no real way to contact them. I'm very disappointed. Find another company.

I wanted to make sure it wasn’t pulling more current that it’s supposed to because the electric bill was a little higher, and there wasn’t any reason for it to be. I submitted a claim to AHS online and the process was very easy. They were quick to respond. The contractor they sent was excellent. He checked my heating system up well. Four years ago, I had a couple of bad experiences with their contractor. It took them too long to respond. I’m sure they knew what they were doing, just getting them there to do it was the problem. Other than that, it’s good to have American Home Shield and I don’t worry as much.

The under the sink plumbing was leaking consistently and there was like a screwcap on it that no matter what I did, just kept coming loose. It was flooding the cabinets. So, I called it in to American Home Shield and spoke to a great and incredibly prompt rep. They sent somebody out and the guy did a great job and fixed it. He also was able to take it apart and kind of redesign it because he noticed that the way that it originally was put in was incorrect. He changed the location of it.

We shouldn’t have any problems with it from this point on because he did deconstruct it and then put it back together. But he said to get back in touch with them if we had any other issues and they would make sure that they would come back. He was professional and knowledgeable. It was all good. But there was one time when American Home Shield was supposed to give me a refund check for $75 for services that weren’t performed. I really had some difficulty getting in touch with anybody and I still haven’t received the check back. Other than that, I would recommend American Home Shield. It’s a great value.

When we didn't have any heat and needed to make a claim to American Home Shield, all I did was make a phone call. The reps I worked with were helpful. It was the second time that we’ve had something done and since I called early, it was just an automated system but it was cut through. The people they sent out from Affordable Heating & Air were very helpful. I had no complaints. The first time that we had an issue, they were sent out at 10:30 at night and on a Sunday, they came out right away. They were able to fix the issue but something else happened so I called them again directly and the next thing I know, they were out of our door. They were very fast and effective. Since the repair of our appliance, everything is so much better. We’ve had some very cold spells so we’ve had to have the heat going high lately, and it works great.

The water wasn't hot in the shower. I called AHS to submit a claim. The technician came out and helped me figure out that the water heater was working perfectly, but it was just the shower nozzle part that needed something done on the inside to it. He told me that I had to make another appointment to have it fixed. But since my husband is so good at fixing things, he fixed it. So, the technician diagnosed the problem and it was a very nice experience with him. I was very happy. I recommended AHS to a coworker of mine yesterday.

All three of the toilets in our house weren’t flushing properly, so I submitted a claim with American Home Shield online and it was easy. Their website was pretty straightforward. The contractors gave me a call before they showed up so that I would be at the house. They came and explained everything, like what they were doing. They replaced the items and fixed the toilets so that they would start working again. Everything is fine now. I have been with American Home Shield since I bought my house on January 11th. A representative called me a couple of days ago and said that she was part of the welcoming committee. I have the essentials, but if I would suggest American Home Shield to somebody else, I would tell them to get the complete package.
