American Home Shield is good. I was with them for about four years and then they dropped me because they had to fix two air conditioning units. Then they started begging me to come back, so I did. Now it's much better than before and they have been very responsive. When we had the air conditioning problems before, we stayed for 12 days without air conditioning in July because they could not get the units fast enough and no contractors wanted to work for them because they didn't pay them enough. This time, when we have problems and there is no contractor available, they let me use my own contractor. I experienced that with the plumber. One time, I brought my own because they could not get any plumber fast enough for us and we had a water leak. Then the second time, it was AHS who found a plumber.
Thanks for sharing that feedback. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

After my poor first experience of a sketchy contractor asking inappropriate questions to a female and waiting 2 weeks for a new contractor to be assigned to fix my refrigerator, I was very hesitant to put in a new request for some plumbing issues. They send out the sketchy cheaper contractors first until they don’t call back, or come back to fix the problem.
But for my new request- The plumbing guy got to my house. Told him the issues I’ve been having (toilet clogs multiple times per day and a plunger won’t unclog it- takes multiple buckets of hot water poured down). He went to the bathroom, turned on the sink and shower then started flushing the toilet. Was told, "Sorry can’t get that issue to happen so I can’t touch it." Shut off the water and walked out. Next issue was when my dishwasher or the right side of the kitchen sink would drain, the left side of the sink would fill up with water. He never tested that out said he trusted me and then proceeded to snake my kitchen drain, filled my sink with water a few times and left. Never even addressed the leaking shower drain into my basement.
What he said makes me nervous for the furnace people coming on Tuesday. The furnace gives off a kerosene gas smell couple of times per week and gets really hot, but I can’t make it happen on demand. Mind you I was having the issue when I put in my request, but the contractor (from an hour away) couldn’t come for a week. $150 down the drain I could have put towards a local company to actually fix the issues.

We went online and ordered a repair on a washing machine. A week later a serviceman came and declared it a total loss. Never got a call back from AHS as to what they were going to do. Called and selected the option to have them call me back due to them being very busy. Never called back. Called again days later and stayed on hold for an hour until I had to go. Two days later called again and waited 3 hours (yes three hours) to talk to someone. Took the option to buy our own due to the one they wanted to get us had really bad reviews and instead to be reimbursed for an amount we really didn't think was fair. We went and purchased a new unit and they told us we would have to call back again in order to get reimbursed. An hour later and I am still on hold. I feel like they are really trying to discourage you from using their service after paying for it. Even the representative said the wait time was horrible.

I am still AHS customer but want to share my experience in few occasions. Recent I had problem with my A/C. Raised a request and the contractor came and went back like, "I need to get approval from AHS to replace coil/Freon Gas etc etc." Next day I got the quite like I need to pay $1400 out of pocket after AHS. I told them to cash in option and I was told they will call me in 48 hours. No response so called after 48 Hours. I was told no estimated date when then process my request. This is again just to tell me how much they will pay so that I can engage outside contractor. I was put on hold on phone for 45 mins to talk to supervisor. After that someone came in and disconnected the phone. This is so bad customer service.

Called for a service call a month ago to look at our oven. A technician came out right away and said that the control board was fried. I was then told that the board was no longer available so a replacement would be needed. The contractor said he couldn’t do anything till they heard from AHS. After two weeks of every morning waiting on hold from an hour and up to three hours, getting hung up on, getting the run around, passing the buck we still don’t have an oven.

I called. Place a service request for my refrigerator. They immediately took my deductible out of my account. It took a week for a service man to come. Said I needed a part. Part was ordered, but this model is no longer made. I received a call from AHS late at night about getting a new refrigerator, but when I called back put on hold for HOURS only to be on and phone call drops. Call DOZENS AND DOZENS of times sent over to supposedly who I need to talk only to be put on HOLD again for hours!! I am so frustrated and I need a refrigerator. I have to go out to eat and with the virus this is not a good time to be without refrigerator. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND AHS TO ANYONE. NEVER!!

AHS contracts with 1-star reviewed companies and does not hold them accountable. 6/6/2020 placed service request for non working AC unit. AHS provided contractor did not call to schedule appointment. They just showed up 3 days later. On 6/10/2020 AHS called authorizing AC unit replacement. The AHS provided contractor claimed it would take 5-7 days to get the new unit from AHS. It is now 7/10/202 and the contractor will not answer phone or return calls. YELP reviews for this contractor all 1-star document the same issue. Assigned by AHS then disappear.
Contacted AHS on 6/17/2020 to explain the issue with contractor and they refused to switch contractors but offered a cash out at about 20% of actual replacement cost. I refused that offer. They put in a call back for the original contractor. Again no contact from that contractor. Now today 7/10/2020 I am being told by the AHS customer service representative that they have to get authorization from someone to switch contractors but it will take 24-48 hours. So basically even the people who work for AHS cannot readily contact anyone at AHS or get timely resolution.

Original Review: July 10, 2020
I'm highly disappointed with American Home Shield. In May of 2020, my AC went out. It took a week for an AHS contractor to come out & they couldn't even complete the work. They had to be sure the work needed to be done was covered by AHS. It took 2 weeks, now into the 2nd week of June, before an AHS representative called to inform me of the approval for the needed repairs. I questioned some of the work as I felt my ac unit was leaking. AHS told me because the contractor did not indicate a leak search needed to be completed that would not be included. They told me I could have another company come out if I felt I needed a 2nd opinion & AHS would reimburse me the cost of the diagnosis exam. I got a 2nd opinion & as I suspected, the outdoor unit is leaking oil!
When I called AHS to inform them of the 2nd opinion, there was a 1.5h wait time to speak with a representative! When I tried to use the online live chat, the first link I found was for AHS contractors only. Next, I filed another service request and unlike usual, the website automatically defaulted to have me call their contractor instead of AHS reaching out to them. An online live chat opened and claimed it would take 13m for a representative to reach out but more than 30m later, still no one. It took me 4 days to contact the contractor and their representative told me that AHS has yet to send them updated information regarding service needs at my residence. When I explained to her what happened, she said that she would contact AHS regarding my case. She was also unable to speak with a representative and left a message. I still have yet to hear from anyone.
This is the 3rd year in a row my ac unit has needed repairs. I've had at least 3 different contractors out who have all said my unit needs replacement. Temperatures are in the 90s both inside and outside my home. It's stifling making it difficult to breathe. In the midst of a global pandemic, where there is literally no place safer to be than your own home, I can't live in mine. As a registered nurse I know more than anyone the impact COVID has had on our communities but that is no excuse to not respond. I'm simply asking for them to do what it states in their policy they are going to do & what I was verbally told they would do. I intend to leave reviews until I get a response.

I will forever inform others of the horrible experience I've had with American Home Shield. The only things they are good at is wasting your time and taking your money. "We repair or replace your covered home system or appliance" right? WRONG. My AC recently started having issues and so I requested service through my American Home Shield account...that was my first mistake.
American Home Shield sent out a technician to diagnose the issue. He showed up and determined the issue was the circuit board. He came back a week later and replaced the circuit board. The AC still would not put out cold air so he decided it needed freon. He came back a week later and added freon...it still would not work properly so he finally decided the entire AC unit needed to be replaced. Great, I thought, they'll replace my unit...nope. Without notifying me of any of this, American Home Shield denied the technician's request to replace the unit and it wasn't until I emailed the technician that I found this out. That is when the phone calls to American Home Shield started.
If you are still reading this please hear me when I say DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING AMERICAN HOME SHIELD!!! You will have to wait an hour before actually talking to someone and when you do, they are of zero help. They will either "transfer" you (aka put you on hold for another hour before dropping your call) or tell you that someone will call you back. In one week I made over 10 calls and spent at least 14 hours on the phone and never received any callback. Their service department has got to be the absolute worst. They make it impossible to connect you with the right person and nobody can give you a solid answer, just excuses for not doing their job. Needless to say I gave up on American Home Shield and ended up finding my own contractor to replace my AC. I will never use American Home Shield again and hope others don't as well.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service & I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for sharing your feedback. Have a great week.

Our Realtor suggested American Home Shield during our process of buying. I just moved into this house a little over a year ago. They assigned Advanced Comfort Solutions for a service request we made. The first guy came out, assessed the problem and wanted to replace a king valve on there because the unit wasn't heating properly upstairs. His name was Nash and he was really good, professional, and very friendly. When they got back to the office, he called me and said that it was decided that they were gonna use a sealant.
They came back out the following day and put the sealant on. Five minutes after he left, the unit was working fine but all of a sudden, it started making a ringing noise and motor went out completely. I tried to reach out to them and got ahold of their dispatch guy. He was sorry this happened and they would have to send someone else back out.
At the end of the day, it ended up being a fan motor. They replaced the fan motor on it and the unit has been running fine. I was pleased with the service and I can appreciate that. I know that with the situation going on right now and everything in our culture, everybody's at home so they're running their air 100 miles an hour all the time, especially in the south where it's hot all the time. There are gonna be more units going out. The contractor got to me as fast as they could. It wasn't an issue because I don't have anybody who lives upstairs in our house so we were okay. But I was pleased with the way they responded. They communicated back to me when they could and couldn't be there.
But there was a claim with our microwave where I had some real issues with the microwave people because it had been about two or three different people to put on different parts. This part kept blowing and another part didn't work. I get how the homeowner's insurance and warranties work and I totally understand they are not just gonna replace something right away. But in this case with the microwave, I did the research on it. What American Home Shield paid to have somebody come out three times and what I paid in this coming out for my service fee, it cost more than what the microwave's worth if I bought it brand new.
With that business model, I don't understand how that works. They kept a bandaid on it and not just replace it after the people said the thing was not good anymore. Finally, when the last guy came out, he said, "I recommend that we replace this unit because it's crazy. We don't need to keep replacing parts. This is gonna keep going. The microwave's shot. We need a new one and you probably paid already, everybody put together, 3 or $400." I said it was more than that. When it was all said and done, I questioned why American Home Shield didn't just say, "Let's just cut our losses here and get it." They finally replaced it but the service calls coming out for three different times were just a hassle. I'm fortunate because I work out of my house.

American Home Shield was recommended to us by my realtor who has AHS for her home. She told me nothing but great things about Home Shield so I went with them too. My washer and dryer wasn't turning on for me one day so I gave AHS a call and told them my issue. They got someone out to address it the next day. The tech who came serviced the unit. Afterwards, he called and followed up to make sure that I had the part that was needed for my dryer. The service was really quick.
We love to hear when we have provided fast and professional service to our customers. Please continue to share your experiences with us and we will continue to strive to meet your needs.

There was a weird smell coming from our ductwork and the air wasn't coming out very fast. So, we shut down our system and filed a claim online to American Home Shield. Their website was easy to use. If I have trouble, AHS gives me a 1-800 number to call. However, it takes forever for someone to answer the phone. It would take the better part of three hours to get a hold of somebody. Sometimes, their system gives me an option of AHS calling me back but often they don't. Plus, when they've called me back, they have disconnected me a couple of times. Still, when I get through, their customer service is amazing.
For my recent claim, their contractor Platinum Heating and Air came out to do service. They were amazing - from Jessica who works at their office to the techs who came to our house. The techs had to order a part and without air conditioning, it was not pleasant to live in our house at all for a week in 100 plus degree days waiting for that part to come in. We got through it though and they were very concerned about us being comfortable. Platinum made sure we had clear lines of communication with them. They fixed our issue and things have been perfect since then. I'd recommend anybody looking for a home warranty to give AHS a call and see what this company can do for them.

I had a backup in the plumbing. I had to have J Walton Plumbing come out to figure out what happened and help me fix it. They took a look and suspected that it was clogged. We have an ADU that my mom stays in. They snaked that line then snaked the line in the house as well just to make sure that everything was clear and that seemed to have taken care of the problem.
However, I don't know if the clog was the issue or if it's something else that's causing a clog. We've had one person come out before and it was from a different company. The two guys that J Walton sent out were more thorough which I appreciated because I want to get to the root of the problem. They really tried to do that and they were really friendly. Unfortunately, this seems to be an ongoing problem. Thankfully, American Home Shield is sending somebody else out to take a look at it as well. But I don't think that it had anything to do with something more that they could have done. It's definitely not anything I blame them for. We actually renewed the policy again because it was sort of nice having that peace of mind. They're better on situations that are non-urgent. They have some opportunities on situations that are more urgent in terms of their response time, but we've been pretty happy overall.

Hospitality Heating and Air was a triple A vendor, so they were helpful and on the mark. They had a little delay though. The appointment time got delayed two days because they had an employee who didn't show up for work. They also had a little bit of trouble getting the unit, an electrical problem, but they got it figured out and the unit is working now. I give them an A-minus. Also, submitting service requests is easy. You just call American Home Shield and they have an automated line. Apart from that, you should know your contract to know what's covered and what's not.

We had a problem in our bathroom and that's why I had somebody call us from American Home Shield. They sent out NW Sundance and they came in as scheduled on the day and time of the appointment. They fixed it and it was done pretty promptly. American Home Shield is very good about customer experience and they’re prompt on the promised terms and conditions. They're pretty good.
The one thing that I did have some difficulty with was getting clarification on some of the rate differences that I had on a contract. I don't think they have a good way to respond to that. I called them because they insisted that what they were charging was correct. I pointed out what the contract said and the rep had to speak with a supervisor. But the supervisor never came back and I lost track. So from a claim submission process perspective, they're pretty good. The process is always simple. When I have a problem, I call them and they refer the claim. Actually, I also used the online system and I was able to get it done pretty easily. But if you have any other inquiry, their support systems need some little bit of upgrade.

Both the valves in the toilet when we flushed them, one kept running and would not fill up and the other one just wouldn't fill up. The contractor was there no more than 10 minutes, had it fixed and was out the door. They were on time. They were very good, too. The only thing is I, being old, don't like talking to a machine. I told the machine that I had two different toilets but when they issued the first order, it was only for the guest bathroom. When I talked to A-American, they said they couldn't do anything about the second one unless I'd call American Home Shield right back and got an add-on. That was a hassle. When I called right back to get an add-on, I talked to a machine and held on and held on. I finally got a person that I could talk to and told him that I already had the service call and what the number was. Other than that, the claim was handled pretty quickly and everything is good.

We have two air conditioners – one for upstairs and one for downstairs – and the upstairs one quit working. It was just putting out hot air. So Flushers Refrigeration came out and checked it out, They determined it needed an expansion valve, which they had to order. Then they came back and replaced it. They did a good job. I was happy with them. But getting a claim set up is sometimes a challenge. I'm not real good at the computer so it takes me a while to try and set up a claim online. So I usually try to do it with a real person but that's really difficult to do because most of their people are over in the Philippines or someplace and I can't understand their English that well. But other than that, the service works well. I even recommend American Home Shield to everybody. It's a good way to go to protect yourself at your home.
Thanks for reaching out to provide that feedback. I am glad the contractors followed through with the appointment that was set but happier for you that your issue has been resolved. We are here for you if you need us in the future. Take Care.

We've had American Home Shield now for a couple of years. When we first got it, everything to do with it was awful. First of all, we live in the country. It's hard to find people to come in and fix things but then the problem that I was having was even putting in the claim. When you call in a claim, it would send you to a call center that was in the Philippines and you could tell that the people that you were talking to barely had a grasp of English. I got to the point that I would normally put the claims in online and sometimes, it was a hit and miss whether or not you'd even get a callback or anything from them. My advice would be to use an American or at least an English-based call system.
If you look online at some of the comments on their ads that pop up on Facebook, everybody says exactly the same thing. It's horrible and this absolutely needs to be addressed. It's bad enough when you're in a stressful situation. My hot water heater went out and my ceiling was about to cave in from the water. I was about to have to shut off water to my home for how ever many days and there's no good water access where I live. I call to get help and the person on the other end of the phone has no grasp of what it is that I was trying to tell them or the magnitude of it. Because they don't understand English, there's no sense of urgency on their part. However, in the last seven months, things seemed to have gotten a little better.
This last time, there was an issue because the online deal was down. I couldn't file an online claim, so I ended up calling and talking to somebody and we didn't have any problems with that this time. This experience was very good. For the first time ever, it was an American that answered the phone, which was quite nice for a change. We also ended up having to have our hot water heater replaced. It just burst.

The contractor from Cecil and Sons communicated well. He was here during the time that he said he was gonna be here. I had no issues, and the AC is working now. It was working before, but it wasn't pumping cold air. I just thought I was just hot and the heat was rising to the top of the house because I was always upstairs. Then I realized the basement was still a little warmer, so something was really wrong. It was after two weeks when I noticed it, and that was the time when I put the claim in to American Home Shield. I put the claim in at night and that morning, they scheduled me an appointment for two days after.
It was really smooth-sailing. There were no complications. I wasn't confused about anything. The service was awesome and it was really quick. I thought it was gonna take longer because a lot of people must've experienced AC issues, but the contractor was fast. The online site with American Home Shield was even better. I didn't have to speak to anyone or stay on hold, so it was good process.

I've been with American Home Shield for at least 3 years and they have 2 of my houses. I am very very unhappy with them. It only takes one time to find out if you have been treated right, fairly or not, and I have experienced several problems. I had a contractor come over here to check something. The person come in and was very nice. We thought we were in good hands. He had our front door open for about 45 minutes and we never heard from him. He never said bye. He never told us what the problem was. I tried to call the office and when they finally answered, they said the person has been with them for a few months. They apologized on his behalf.
I had a plumbing problem and American Home Shield sent somebody here. The first person they sent just put that I had a problem in my kitchen ceiling. He came in, took a screwdriver, put a hole in there then dumped the water that was in the ceiling. He didn't check anything. He didn't have a machine to check any water leak. He said it was not a plumbing problem. He thought it was a flood problem. He called his friend from a company that I don't even know. His friend came and checked everything. This one at least came up with a machine.
American Home Shield decided if it was not a plumbing problem, they were gonna send the AC person to check it so they did. The AC guy came in and said my AC was working perfectly well and full of freon. He also said it must be plumbing. So, we called American Home Shield to send a different plumber. They sent Georgia Plumbing to find out what the problem was. Georgia Plumbing was the only one that came here that decided to do something and find out what the problem was. They fixed the problem.
But for the time being, United Air Temp messed up something. They sent somebody else to come in and check the AC on the 1st. When the person came in, he found it was the compressor. He was really polite and professional. He got an appointment for his director to come in and double-check it because that's how American Home Shield works. They want a second opinion. I waited again on the next day. On the 2nd, they gave me an appointment with the director. He didn't make it until 4:00. I stayed here all day, and he called me later on to tell me he was gonna be in in 45 minutes. 45 minutes passed and he called me that he would be late.
When he came, he told me it was the compressor. I asked, "Now that you know exactly what it is, how long is it going to take for you to report it to American Home Shield?" He said he'd do it right away. He was supposed to call American Home Shield on the 2nd and report it to them. Friday, Saturday, Sunday came and I didn't hear anything from American Home Shield. I called American Home Shield Sunday afternoon to find out what was going on. When I call American Home Shield, I have to wait for 45 minutes to an hour every time which is disgusting. When I finally spoke to somebody from American Home Shield, they told me that they sent somebody else to check it on the 2nd, but they never heard from them. They were still waiting on the report and there was nothing that they could do without receiving a report from the person.
On Monday morning, the guy from United Air Temp called me and asked if I heard from American Home Shield. I asked him how could I hear from American Home Shield when he never reported to them what was going on. He said he tried to call them but couldn't get in touch with them. He said it was gonna take about 7 to 10 business day before he could get the compressor. I told him, "I don't think you should order the compressor until I speak to the insurance company for them to give the choice of what I wanna do. Do I wanna fix it or do I want to replace it?" He said, "No, don't worry about that. That's the way we do it. We always order the compressor because we know it takes so long. If you don't need it, we can always cancel it."
I wish that American Home Shield would talk to me to find out what I wanted to do. But he started telling me something else. I told him I didn't want to hear anything from him because everything he told me was a lie and I didn't even want him to come back and work for me anymore. I called American Home Shield and asked them to send me somebody else so they sent me Action Air. Action Air came here and found out it was the compressor. The guy said he was gonna call American Home Shield from my driveway to let them know what my problem was. I didn't hear anything for that day. The next day I called American Home Shield and they told me that they never heard from the person. They were still waiting on the report.
American Home Shield is a business and we are the client. I don't care how successful they are right now, but if we're not happy, most likely they will lose customers. I myself gave American Home Shield 5 of my friends - one of them has 3 houses, and the rest of them have 2 houses. When I got them, I never had any problem and I never had anything break. I went by thinking that they're okay. But because of the way they treated me, I now feel bad giving my friend to them. People have to be heartless to treat people the way they treat me. The day I told my friend what happened to me, I know they're not gonna use American Home Shield anymore more. I want American Home Shield to try their best to fix what's wrong. There is a problem between the contractor that work for American Home Shield and American Home Shield themselves. They are supposed to work to satisfy their client, but they don't.

We paid $125 to have them come and that's what they thought that it was worth. I'm going to call Home Shield and I'm sure they're gonna work it out for us. We’ve had the warranty with American Home Shield for four years and it’s working out good for us. It’s probably a break-even for us at this point with that few years we haven’t done anything with them and then a couple of small jobs here and there. It’s the second time we’ve had Certified Heating & Air come out for totally opposite issues. They were great and perfect. They were exactly what they said they were. If they said they were gonna be there between 10:00 and 12:00, they were there. They would say what it was gonna take to repair and that was what it took to repair. They were in and out quick, which is all you could want from a service place.

Recently, our pool pump wasn't working. The contractor came out and it was the motor that needed to be replaced, but he didn't have it on his truck. He came back out a second time with the part and was able to get it running. We are now able to enjoy our pool. When we filed the claim, we got an automatic text message giving us the window and the contractor himself called to verify that window. He also called the day of to tell us he was on his way so we've got quite a bit of notification from him. We were pleased with that person but I haven't enjoyed American Home Shield. There are a lot of coverage issues and that's been frustrating. Sometimes you assume you have a warranty that'll cover something and that's not the case.

I'm satisfied with American Home Shield. My claim submitted is not a problem. The contractors are the problem. Every time I contacted American Home Shield, they would respond right back to me and contact the contractor. Two of the contractors have been problems. I got one now. He was supposed to be changing the light fixtures, and he brought a substandard light fixture out here about a week ago. I told him, "You know, you can't see." He had a one bulb light fixture and mine had a three bulb. So I called him again Friday and he told me, "I can put a better bulb in there and it will give you more light. I'll be there Saturday morning." I stayed here all day long Saturday. That guy has not shown up.
Normally, every time the contractors complete the job, American Home Shield will send me a survey and it'll ask me if the contractor completed the job and I've done that each time. But I've not received one on this particular issue on replacing the fan. It's been so long since they contracted with him. They contracted with him two months ago, and he just put the fan in last week. But American Home Shield has been great.

The handle was broken on my dishwasher. A filter also needed to be replaced on my refrigerator. The water was coming out very cloudy and we didn't know what was going on. I called American Home Shield. Then I received a call from who was going to be coming out and told me the time of arrival. We had the Appliance Guys come out and they took care of everything. Some parts had to be ordered. Then they followed up with another call to advise that the parts were in and that they would be out at a specific date and time of my preference. They came and fixed everything up and tested it.
The deductible for me is $100. I had been burned a couple of times where I got both a refrigerator and a dishwasher was happening and no one ever told me that I could do just $100 if they were similar appliances. AHS should at least let the consumer know that they have that option 'cause sometimes some of the same similarities of systems break down at the same time. I've called into the call center and they don't tell you that unless you ask them. They should also add that option to the automation system because sometimes, people wanna do their requests online through the automated system.
American Home Shield was tremendous. My wife and I are very pleased and we love American Home Shield, so we will be renewing again. We used to have them for at least five years but economic situations happened and we needed to be able to let go. But we've been dealing with American Home Shield for quite some time and every experience has been top-notch. The customer service is very friendly and easy to work with. I submitted a claim 'cause the AC was working intermittently. The AHS website was really easy to navigate The options were all there and it prompted for all the info that was needed. Ace Heating & Cooling came out and they were amazing. We had to shift the scheduling because we weren't gonna be able to be there when we originally scheduled it for. And they were super friendly and they didn't make me feel bad about changing it at all. They were also extremely prompt in arriving when they said they would.
The issue was intermittent which made it hard to discover, but the technician took the time to find it. Even though the AC wasn't having the issue when he showed up to look, he didn't stop there. He went ahead and troubleshot some things and found the source of the issue. So I was super happy. Having no AC in Florida is not ideal. Annd the repaid made our lives much more comfortable. When I moved in, I found that one of my sinks had a leak underneath it. Then the other one, I was going to wash my face and the drain shattered almost. Since they were both plumbing issues, I decided to give American Home Shield a call. The claim was denied at first and it took me a very long time to get in touch with someone. In the same timeframe, they were experiencing severe IT issue. They were down for a week or so. Between that and the timing issue for my part, it took me a very long time to get that fixed. I was able to resolve the issue with my drains though. The contractor from Ostarly Plumbing was great. He came in and did the job quickly. I felt comfortable with him here and everything went well.
American Home Shield sent the final note of the customer service representative in the email to Ostarly and they forwarded that to me. It just said that that was denied. I'm the type of person that likes to have a reason why it's denied. I'm not satisfied with just the denial. I wish that they would go into a little bit more detail when they deny something.
Every time I've tried calling to get more information, it did end up in a 45-minute wait to talk to someone. It is an ordeal to call. I do plan on using the online tool but this situation was unique. When I first was introduced to the home warranty set up, the lady that I spoke with recommended calling if you have 2 issues with one trade. I would be charged the two $100 for two sinks if I would do it online versus calling where I would be charged one deductible. Being able to put in more than one claim online and not be charged twice would definitely help. It's seldom that that happens but when it does, it would still be nice to do that online 'cause I'd definitely take advantage of all those tools.
Thank you for sharing your recent experiences with us. We are working diligently to improve the overall customer experience and we look forward to our continued business together. Have a great day.

When it was time for me to renew, and since I had been with American Home Shield, I went with them. One time, our toilet wasn't functioning. I made a service order online and the website was okay. It said they would contact with me in a couple of days. After that, the contractor came out and at first, they said it wasn't covered. They then came back about an hour later and said it was. During that time, I didn't have a refrigerator or freezer working. Nobody would do anything about it.
More recently, Sears was sent by AHS for a washer issue of mine. We were getting black spots all over our clothes. The tech from there did a fantastic job and he knew what he was doing. The person who came out and worked on my dishwasher had been out here before, before I got connected with American Home Shield. He was good and he knew what he was doing. He fixed my dishwasher and it's working just fine.
The other guy who worked on my refrigerator seemed to be okay and he didn’t have to order any parts. It's a refrigerator that has an icemaker on it and about once a month, like clockwork, it would leak on the floor. The man who came out said that there was a line stopped up somewhere and I assumed that he unstopped it and cleaned it out but the problem has come back. Home Shield was great, but the company itself, Ice Cube Air, was awful. My AC was working. But then, it had not been working for four days. An hour or two later, not only did the AC stop, but then the thermostat, because it's attached to the whole HVAC unit, had completely shut down so I couldn't get any air in the house. That was really weird because the contractor was only here for a few minutes. They said that everything was fine, that they put Freon in it and that they would do it at no charge. I said, “Okay. But what's wrong with it?” They basically just said that it needed to be cleaned and that everything would be fine.
They had to come out twice. The first time they came out, the company didn't tell me that I needed to shut off my AC. The technician came four and a half hours late. And then, he said, “I can't service your unit, because it's got ice on it and you need to let it thaw for 24 hours. I'll call dispatch and I'll let them know. I will let them know that I needed to come back first thing tomorrow morning,” because it was hot. The next morning, I called Ice Cube Air to find out what time the guy would come and they told me not until tomorrow. I said, “Oh, great. Thanks for telling me.”
The next day, the two guys came. They did some stuff outside. When they left, the AC was working, but then a couple hours later, it shut down. I have an Ecobee thermostat system. Maybe something happened with that. I was trying to figure it out. In the meantime, I decided to do some reviews on that company because I wanted to see what other people had to say. 90% of all of the reviews were negative. I figured, those people suck. They don't know what they're doing.
I called Home Shield on Saturday, and I said, “Listen. I really need to have my unit reserviced. But I don't want you to send that same company.” I explained to them what happened, and I said, “And based on all the reviews, it wasn't just one, it wasn't two. There were a lot of people saying that they're bad. You guys might wanna know that before you decide to send them out anywhere else.” They said, “Well, if you go with someone else, you're gonna have to pay the $75 again,” which I didn't like, but I needed AC. I said, “Okay, but this time, I want you guys to send me like a 5-star rated company. I don't want any craziness.” The next company they sent out was excellent. They called me on a Sunday, and then they came out on a Monday. They fixed the AC. And then something else happened and they sent their most senior tech out the next time, and it has been blowing ever since. Also, there was no awkwardness.
That company, Ice Cube Air, is the worst of the worst. One of the technicians asked me out on a date at the end of the thing, which was strange. I was very uncomfortable. It was just me and my two kids when the guy said, “I don't know what your living situation is, but I would certainly love to take you out.” Maybe he broke the AC because he wanted to come back. But I couldn't prove that. But other than that, I have a really good policy. It covers just about everything. All I wanted to do was make sure that all of my appliances and electronics are covered, and Home Shield was able to do that. Also, I had another issue with my refrigerator and Home Shield sent the person out right away. They even gave me a little stipend to buy a mini-fridge to keep my things cool. They just need to check out their contractors.

We have a sink in our bathroom in the basement and a sink where we do the dishes. One day, I went downstairs and the sink there was backed up. Apparently, they're on the same line. I ran the sink again to make sure that was causing the problem and it was. There was a blockage in our line and I ended up calling American Home Shield to go and get a plumber to come out. Submitting the claim was pretty easy. I did it at 3:00 in the morning and the tech called me within fifteen minutes. That was kind of nice. And when he came out, he fixed it within five minutes. But for the claim that I had before that, the guy couldn't come out for three days.
Other than that, I've used AHS twice and the techs fixed both issues. Whenever I have a claim, I always look up on Google to see who the contractors are and what they're sending out. Usually, they’re not the most expensive people, but they get the job and sometimes that can be concerning depending on what system they're going to work on. The experience also depends on who AHS sends out. This last guy was a little abrasive though I didn't have any issues with what he said. But some of the stuff he was saying could easily offend someone. For instance, he talked mad things on real estate agents and my uncle's one. So he just needed to watch his mouth.
Other than that, I pay the basic coverage and it covers most of the major appliances. Also, I have a water heater that'll be 30 years old next year and we'll see if AHS ends up replacing it. That’s the main reason why I'm keeping the warranty because I'm waiting for that to go out and if it does go out, I'm hoping they’ll be able to replace it for me.

American Home Shield is nice and they do send people out. I like that they provide opportunities to cover pretty much anything in the house. It's the extended option of making sure everything's covered. The vendors have been good. For the plumbing issue, it was fixed. The only thing I have a concern with American Home Shield is if we have an issue, there's always an exception. It was another electric company that came out. The chain broke and the little dots came out. My mother's 82 years old and she isn't pulling on it in a huge way. They said it was excessive force on pulling it, so they were not gonna cover it. They nitpick on the small things, and they make it really hard to get things fixed when it should just be simply covered.
The company gave me a quote and said, "For $300, we'll fix it all, but we can't fix it under this." It doesn't make sense to me. I'm not using American Home Shield to make more money. I'm using American Home Shield because I pay 75 bucks for one contract and 60 for another and if something breaks and it's in the thing to be covered, I want it fixed. But there's some reason why they couldn't fix it when in reality, they should just fix it and it's not like it's a lot of money to fix it.
American Home Shield is probably great for things that are large that cost a lot of money such an air conditioner or a heater or an appliance that goes out. Even that though, I've now been without my dryer for 3 weeks because the belt was bad. They had to order the belt. Then they couldn't schedule the repair until they get the belt in. But they do as little as possible instead of just fixing the problem. It will probably save everybody a lot of money if they just fix the problem, and they'd have better customers. It's very agitating. I depend on them to fix my problems that they say they have it covered, but they always have an excuse. Unless it's a big thing that has to be replaced, it's usually a problem to get it done. But it's worth it because you wanna make sure your large appliances are covered.
When I had an issue with the guy with the fan thing to do the second opinion, it took 3 days for them to call me back. The manager called me back. He said he would put it in the note. I waited but nobody called. I called them and they said there were no notes that a manager said they were gonna do it so they couldn't do it. But they were very nice and did do it without the manager's notes. But it shouldn't be that complicated.

I've been a Home Shield member for 26 years. I was renting and under the homeowner's contract. And when I bought my home, I continued with Home Shield. General Electric was for the washer. They came and do what they were supposed to do. However, Home Shield's phone lines are terrible. They need to revamp the phone lines because you can be on hold all day long. And then when they're off duty, the recording comes on and tells you their work hours. But I went through another number to get to where I'm supposed to be, to talk about the washer. And to me, the young man did not explain it thoroughly.
He gave me a model number and how much Home Shield would pay up to. And anything beyond that, I have to pay. I understand that. But I asked which option is better because I don't know. He said he can't tell me so I just chose buying the washer and submitting for reimbursement. But to me, it sounds like the first option is probably better. He was talking too fast and at this point, I was frustrated because of those stupid phone lines. I actually like Home Shield, other than getting to speak with a human being is terrible.

Every summer, I ask Mr. Jimmy to do our AC, but this time, American Home Shield sent out a different company and the guy wanted to try to charge me several hundred dollars to put a fluid in. He wanted me to pay him upfront for it and he hasn't even identified what the issue was or been able to tell me whether or not that was going to solve my issue. I told him no. After a back and forth with American Home Shield, they finally sent Mr. Jimmy out. He said that there was a leak but I also needed a new condenser. He came out, repaired the unit and it worked. I had to wait a few days for the part and then there had been another issue.
American Home Shield wanted to send back the other person and I told them absolutely not. Mr. Jimmy didn’t come back out because he goes to visit his mother once a year and this was the time he also went to go visit his mother. It was a really hot day and we ended up suffering through it, but when he came back, he fixed my unit. Recently, the air stopped again and when my son heard it, he thought it was an earthquake because his bed is right below the air conditioning unit. The blades inside the fan broke off and they were clanging against the housing.
The unit was not working. It was summertime and when I called Mr. Jimmy, I checked to see with him if he was visiting his mom because I didn't want things happening like last time. He said that this year, he wasn’t gonna visit his mom because of the coronavirus. He then came out, fixed the unit and I haven’t had any complaints. Mr. Jimmy has been been very responsive and professional. He is able to identify the issue and get back to me very quickly as well.
I have two properties. One in South Carolina and the other one in Georgia. I usually call American Home Shield and it takes me around the world and back again through automated pressing zeros and pressing zeros. I eventually get someone, but I feel like I could pull my hair out with American Home Shield in Georgia. I'm really disappointed with them and I'm ready to go to Choice or somebody else because it's horrible. If I do an order in Charleston, it's only $75. In Atlanta, it's $100 and when the service people come out, they're either gonna rip you off or they're going to lie to you to your face.
It's gonna take me at least three service calls on the average to fix something as well. Although they have fixed my daughter's air conditioner in the property in Atlanta, there's a washing machine there and I've had Home Shield send out five technicians for it. It's now after two years and it’s still not fixed. My daughter comes over here to wash, but I'm so mad about the money and I'm so determined to make American Home Shield pay for it. That's $500 that I've spent when I could have added another $300 to it and just bought her another unit. Also, I live 30 minutes from her and with the COVID-19, I have to go up by her area to buy it. I can't even buy it from where I am.
Here’s another example of American Home Shield. I have a Samsung washer and dryer that was not turning anymore. Instead of replacing it, they were determined to fix it. They rebuilt the drum and this took me six months. It was ridiculous. When they sent me the new drum, it got delivered to my house and I didn't open it 'cause what was I gonna do with it? I put it in my office and I left it there till they were ready to schedule someone. When American Home Shield sent someone out, they then said, “Oh, this is what I have to do? Put this drum in?" One person has to hold the drum and the other person has to do whatever is required. The guy said he couldn't do it by himself and we had to reschedule until one other person could come out.
When people then came to put the drum in, they found it was dented. They had to order a new drum and reschedule again. The new drum came out and once again, I had to wait for them to get two people together. Mind you, when I issued the complaint, the installer said there were 20 homes in my subdivision that had the same exact issue. Once I started doing more research, I realized that there were a bunch of lawsuits against Samsung for the very issue. Anyway, the unit was fixed. That was three years ago, and I haven't had an issue since.

I have had American Home Shield for over three years. I only had two claims so far. The first claim, I had a couple of challenges but it was because of having someone coming into the house. Due to the pandemic, there were a couple of challenges. On the other hand, the second claim was very successful. I had an issue with an attic fan a couple weeks ago and the claim was handled well. The company came the next day and they replaced it.

We were having troubles with the garage door opener because we've had troubles in the past with the control board. We called in the claim and then I gave the contractor a timeframe that I would be there but they weren't able to be there quite before I had to leave. I had advised them ahead of time in making the appointment that I had to leave at a certain time. They thought they could be there, but they weren't able to. They left a note that they have been there. So I had to make another appointment. When they came out again, it was good. It's all been working fine.

AHS was recommended by a friend and they have good ratings. When I submit a claim, I do it by phone. The service has been very helpful but I had to wait a long time to get to somebody. But then the person was willing to do the recall for the air and then I put it in a different claim, and he was able to do both at the same time. So I didn't have to call back a second time. The experience with the recent claim was good as well.

There was a part that he had to get and he came back the next day and put it in.

The entire way that my claim with American Home Shield was handled other than the fact that the service man from Boa came out and fixed the problem was completely insulting to me. The company accused me of using the service just to change a light bulb that was burned out. But the light bulb got burned out after I had already swapped it and the socket did require repair. I had got this message after I reviewed everything to call this number, and it was a bunch of foreign agents telling me over and over, "You're stupid. You don't call for a ** light bulb." They are disgusting if they're gonna insult people and claim that they're just using it to change a light bulb.
I have four inset light bulbs in the ceiling in my bathroom. No matter how I twisted one, it would flicker. And I even swapped out the bulbs, which is what the electrician did later and it still wouldn't work. So clearly, it was the socket. So, I did that myself. I tested it myself because I know how to change a light bulb. It did flicker, both the one in there and the one that I swapped. So, the one that was originally in there was maybe on the way out. So, the electrician spent 15 minutes and he said, "You know what, I swapped out your light and it didn't work, but then the part of the metal was bent inside the socket, I had to bend it to make contact properly. So, I did have to adjust the light socket. Now it works. And oh, by the way, the other light bulb is now burned out."
The electrician did his job and told me the truth, which is the socket was bent. Then I got an email from AHS saying, "Call this 1-800 number. There's a problem with your claim." And then these foreign people are telling me, "Burned out light bulbs aren't covered blah, blah, blah." First of all, it was piss-poor communication because it made it sound like the whole claim was denied. It made it sound like the claim wasn't covered, which isn't true. They did cover it. The man did work on the socket. He fixed it. But it made it sound like I was trying to grift on them all to get a bulb, but I went and bought it myself. I had no problem with that. But it was a terrible experience. I'm very dissatisfied. I was insulted about the whole process. American Home Shield sucks.

Our recent claim with AHS was for the dripping faucet that we had in the bathroom. The person that came was very professional. It went really well. They had to order a part ’cause I have old plumbing. The hot water faucet when you turn it over torques, it's stripped the backing. So we ordered the part and we were just waiting for it to come in. Then it did show up and then I had to reach out again ‘cause my other toilet in the other side of the house, there was a leak happening under the base. The same plumber came and he repaired that and replaced the ring. Then I showed him the parts and he was more of, “You just hold on to those parts. If the faucet doesn't work again, then we can schedule someone to come out.”
Unfortunately, I’ve had to use our warranty several times. The claim submission process of AHS wasn't difficult though. The folks that I've talked to have been very responsive. I go more online to do things, and then if there was something in the claim that didn't fall within it, then I would get a call back from American Home Shield that explained the process.
I had a water main break, but it was in my lawn. It was a slow drip. I wanted a water feature, but I had rabbits kinda hanging out like, “What is this?” ‘Cause it’s this 1961 house and then I was like, I don't have a swamp or wetlands. Realizing that the city is not responsible for it, and it didn't fall under American Home Shield’s coverage because it's not in my house, it was in the lawn. But through that process, I was able to get a plumber to come in. That part was good. It was just more of why I would think that that would’ve covered it. They explained to me, “No, it's really the house, not necessarily the plumbing coming into the house.” It was just weird, but at least it was something where I didn't have to pay for the high plumber fees for someone to come out and investigate.
For new homeowners, the contract is a lot of stuff to read. As we navigate through it, it will be more helpful if they have a newsletter that goes out, if there are gonna be changes. But AHS has been helpful ‘cause I haven't had to hunt around for contractors. That’ll be my big push to someone that's vetted. The contractors I've had, have been mostly plumbing and heating folks, and that's been a positive. Especially because plumbers in here, it's really hard and it’s very expensive.

It has been 17 days since then and we cannot get ahold of anyone at the dryer company or at home shield. Home shield customer service has said for 6 days now that their managers are in meetings and will call us back the next day, but we never get a phone call. I have been a customer of American Home Shield for many years. While we have had some decent experiences I need to share two of the worst. A few years back, our heating unit went out in the middle of winter. We had just had a baby and we were without heat in Wisconsin for several months. They offered to buy us a portable heater. Luckily, our house has a pellet stove so we were able to stay fairly warm but it took MONTHS and a lot of complaining and phone time to get them to follow through with what is stated in the contract! I thought this might be a one time occurrence... Boy was I wrong.
Now, it is our A/C unit. We are currently in one of the longest heat waves here in Wisconsin. We have two small children and an elderly dog that is really suffering from the heat. We have had to stay at friends and families houses as it is just unbearable. We requested service on June 24 and had a contractor immediately assigned. He came quickly and recommended to AHS that the unit needed to be replaced. AHS contacted them and said no - just to patch the issue. I then contacted AHS to argue with their decision and she said she would set-up an appointment for a second opinion. That was June 30.
Since then I have spent multiple hours on the phone (3 times Ive been on hold at least 2 hours) with several different "reps", sent messages on Facebook, and have been promised a call back with in 24 hours. Not one single returned phone call. I have tried explaining that there are not a lot of contractors in our area that work with AHS (wonder why...) and that is why they may be experiencing issues finding a second opinion. But no one is listening or doing anything about it. I even had one rep tell me that they don't even have air conditioning in their country, downplaying my concern. I was really upset with her attitude and lack of compassion. I have held up my end of the contract by paying my month bill. It is now time for AHS to do the same. I am beyond disheartened by this company, their lack of follow through, and down right terrible business practices. I would not recommend this company or any of its subsidiaries to ANYONE!

I hung up because I had other things I needed to do. I emailed and never got a response. Currently we need our dishwasher replaced and our A/C is not working. They are replacing the dishwasher but are unable to find someone in this area to install it. When we find someone we are submit an estimate of cost before they can deliver. Again, communication is my concern. We submitted a request for the A/C and two days later it has still not been sent out for a company to come out. In the past we have had a great experience with this company. Everyone they have sent out has been great. We have an elderly person of 82 in our home and I am very concerned about how long it is going to take to get the A/C repaired.

I put in a service request to AHS for pool heater, pool filter and pool plumbing repair. It was one contractor that was assigned to perform all repairs and my $100.00 service fee was paid. They sent an electrical company to perform the work. He was able to fix the valve on the heater. Eventually, after 1 1/2 months and many phone calls he was able to replace the pool filter. But... he never addressed the issue with the pool plumbing that had an air leak that caused air to be injected into the pool thru the jets. He in fact made the pool plumbing worse. He did not properly install the filter to the existing PVC piping. The new filter was appx 5-6 inches taller than the old one and he just lifted the existing plumbing AND the pool motor off the cement pad they are supposed to be resting on. He shoved a piece of plastic under the appx 10 pound motor to "support" it.
Since the plumbing is no longer supported and adjusted to fit the new filter, the entire PVC pool plumbing shakes and vibrates when the motor is running. I had to put a couple of bricks under some of the PVC pipes to try and stabilize it. The filter is not level nor is the motor or plumbing. A proper install would have required the plumbing to be refitted and adjusted to the height of the new filter. It is all very unstable and unsafe. I contacted AHS and instead of sending out a plumber or someone with experience with pool plumbing, they sent out another electrician!
Well, he reported back to AHS that it is mechanically sound. AHS declined my repair to fix the pool plumbing that the first contractor #1-did not address and #2- made much worse by not properly installing the pool filter...Plus they want to charge me another 100.00 service charge for the electrician that came out and said it was fine. (when I was told there was to be no charge) Why are they sending an electrician to do plumbing? He knew nothing about plumbing.
On AHS web page they state that they use licensed contractors. No licensed plumbing contractor would ever do what that first electrician did when he installed my pool filter. No licensed plumber would have said that the plumbing was "mechanically sound". If someone has a plumbing problem, AHS should sent a licensed plumber. I'm a licensed registered nurse.... that does not make me licensed or qualified to do accounting, or plumbing or roofing or brain surgery. My license is specific to the job I am qualified and licensed to do.
Do not send an electrician to do something that a licensed plumber is qualified and supposed to do. It is usually an hour wait to talk to someone on the phone at AHS. They do not call you back or follow thru with answers. I've called at least 10 times. Shame on them for taking advantage of their customers that pay them every month. Shame on them for not sending qualified, licensed contractors to perform work up to industry standards.
Bette,

I had a problem with my toilet and it was handled very professionally. High Priority Plumbing was on time and they resolved the issue. I had another claim with American Home Shield. It seemed like all of my toilets were starting to break down at once. Initially, I was a little concerned because I was told by one of the technicians that the repair had to be completely broken before they would replace or repair it. I was like, "Well, I'm paying you a fee each month and your technician is telling me that it's tearing up, but it hasn't completely torn up." They can't do anything until it's completely torn up. So, I asked them for my $100 fee to have High Priority to come out, and they did reimburse me.
Since that time, I've used them again, and they've lived up to what they said they would. I took it up the ladder to their complaint area, and they reimbursed me my $100 fee to have High Priority come out. But they told me on a going-forward basis that if I hear noises, that's not a part of the claim. So, they need to re-look at that. If I'm paying my 49.99 a month and I'm paying $100 claim for them to come out here, I don't expect them to come out and tell me, "Well, I see it's tearing up, but I can't do anything until it's completely torn up." That makes no sense to me.

There was water under my floor. I had to pay for somebody to come and help soak this water up. I got a carpet man that soaked it up. He told me my water heater was busted. I called American Home Shield and they said I had to go to this plumbing thing. When I called them, they were talking about $550. When Prime Plumbing Services was gonna come out, I had already bought a water heater. They were gonna come out a week later and I had already went out seven days without water. I told American Home Shield, “Could I just basically buy my own water heater and get somebody else to do it?” They said I could.
I called them and told them that I went to Home Depot. I bought the part. I called another gas company out to make sure that it was my water heater. They verified it was my water heater that went out. So then, I called them back while I had a lot of gas right here, and then I told them the part was wrong. So then I got another gas to see if they can put the part on. They said the part was bad. So then I called Home Depot and told them with the water heater I bought, I was still not getting hot water. They told me the part was bad, so then I called my home warranty and then they gave me Rain's number. Rain told me that I had to order this part. Then they were gonna take a week. I told them I couldn’t keep going like this with no water.
Finally, they overnighted it. Then the part was no good. I called a plumber again and I said, “Okay. Let me call another gas person” because I told him I had smelled some leak then I started smelling a leak. I called another gas. I called Rain back and they tried to tell him this and that. This man told them, “I’ve been doing this for five years. That part is bad” because he could not light it. I called Home Depot and told them all the problems I was having, so Home Depot told me to bring the water heater back. I had to call a plumber here again to uninstall it and then take it to Home Depot to reinstall it. I had to get up every day and drive 30 miles one way just to take a shower. It’s too hot to go without taking a shower. I went through a lot. AHS told me they couldn’t reimburse me for the water heater because it wasn’t in the contract. I still had to pay 550, but I didn’t want to wait so they didn’t want to reimburse me the whole 550. $150 is the max they’ll do.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service & I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for sharing your feedback. Have a great week.

We called Home Shield and processed our claim online, and then the contractor came out and did the work like we always do. The website was all right. There's not enough choices for you to describe what's going wrong with the problem though. It just says, "Washing machine, working, not working," something. Of course, there's no way to describe that the things connected at the wall were broken and different things like that. You just have to put something generic, and then when the contractor comes about the problem, they don't have with them what they need because they didn't know what was wrong to begin with. And then, they have to come back.
I've submitted a claim online and I've done another on the phone. I know everybody's busy, but you would be on the phone about an hour and a half waiting for somebody to pick up. Extremely long. I've not been happy with Home Shield at all. They say the contractor would come out in 24 hours. I personally made a claim on a washing machine last Thursday. Finally, someone came Tuesday, he said he had to order parts, and because of the COVID and all that, it may be 10 to 15 days. So that's nearly three weeks turnaround somebody fixing the problem that you call in for, and I'm not happy at all with the whole thing.
Water's Edge Plumbing put new connections, and we already had the hoses on the hot and cold water for the washing machine. The hoses had corroded on there, and when they tried to take them off, it broke off the water connections. The tech did a good job. The washing machine is working well now. They fixed it. However, they're not good workers at all.
Our claim on our washing machine, they've already fixed it three times. I told Home Shield, "Don't send them again." And the rep said, after being on the phone almost an hour to talk to somebody about I didn't want them to come again, that's the only vendor they have in our area. I said, "As big a town as Midland and Odessa is, y'all have nobody but this company?" And she replied, "No, ma'am, we don't." I said, "Y'all need to get some more vendors. Y'all need to get better choices. These people don't answer your calls." She told me to try to call them and see if I can set up appointments. But I've left messages Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday. They would not call me back. I've told Home Shield to not send that contractor for our house again, and yet signed us up for them again.
Are you still in need of assistance?

I call American Home Shield and tell them what's wrong and they send someone out. The only problem I have is I usually have to wait an hour to get them to answer. Once I'm able to get through, it's fine. They give me their number and I give them my number, then I get a call usually the day after. One time, they had Advanced Home & Commercial Services come for the air conditioning. With my oven, it took 12 times for someone to come out until they finally said I needed a new unit. The last person that came out made it worse. Before, we could open the door, it wasn't making noises and we could use the ovens.
The only thing that we couldn't do was clean them, but now, we can't even use it. It's making a buzzing sound and we can't open the bottom oven. It is a big pain. I called American Home Shield and told them about it, but they said they weren't sending anyone back because I was getting a new oven. However, they don't know that the company said it would take five weeks. They can't come out until August the 10th to install it. It's a very long time, but I already paid for it. They had to order the new unit and I had to pay for it for them to do that. Apart from that, American Home Shield has been fine.

Recently, my AC was blowing hot air and the fan wasn't moving on the outside of the unit. I spoke to them on Saturday and scheduled the appointment for Monday. They called me at 8 AM Monday morning to confirm and they kind of acted like I didn't have an appointment. They said, "Okay, we're gonna schedule you for today." I said I already had an appointment scheduled for some time today on Saturday. They put me on hold. They called me back and said I had between 10:00 and 2:00. 1:30 comes around and there was nobody. I called them and they said they were working on it. 3 o’clock rolls around and there was nothing. I called back and at 4:15 and they told me that they wouldn't get anybody out that day.
I reached out to Jen who is my sales rep. Any time I have an issue, I'm a brat and I call her. She works her magic and makes it all happen for me. She got on right on top of it. Within 30 minutes, they called me back and they had somebody else. His name was Jeremy. He came out and he was amazing. He fixed me up and was quick and efficient. He was safe with all of the PPE equipment. I have already referred him out to one of my clients. I told him I will save his number and I will be calling him anytime I have a client who has an AC issue. I was definitely satisfied with the experience.

We've been having the worst time with American Home Shield. We are senior citizens and we have been suffering for weeks in this heat but no one has helped us. I’ve been with American Home Shield since 2005 but I'm ready to call Channel 10 On Your Side now. I've been sweating since June. We don't have any air here.
Brandon, the young guy from Air Max, came out on the 24th. He said there was a slow leak and I said I know. It has been leaking since 2009. I own a duplex – 2030 and 2028 – and he put two pounds of R-22 Freon in both units. But initially, he wouldn’t even do anything until I gave my credit card. He said he would have to take my credit card before he would start working. I knew he was gonna need Freon but he didn't have any equipment. I asked what he was charging me for. When I gave my credit card, he wrote down $230 on my credit card. So my invoice for the 24th says that I was charged with two pounds of R-22.
He was gonna have his manager come back the next day and when Robert came out, he said that I need a new compressor. He said that he was gonna sit in his car and call American Home Shield right then so that I can get a new compressor. He also put some Freon in 2030. But then Air Max said they're not coming back out anymore. I asked why not and they said it was because they had gotten a call from somebody. I asked who called. We didn't call. They were told by somebody that Air Fast had worked on my AC last. I asked when Air Fast was coming and Air Max said they had already called American Home Shield and that they were going to transfer it back to Air Fast.
Also, when Brandon came out on the 24th, he had put down, "Slow charger. Slow leaks. R-22. Unit price 150. Amount 230. Total amount service 230." But when Robert came, he crossed that off. I also told Robert that I had given Brandon my credit card and he said, "You did?" I showed it to him and I looked at my checking account. It said pending so I told Robert I didn't know why Brandon did that. He said he didn't know either but that he was gonna make a note. Brandon also wrote on my invoice that if I have any issues about the leak, they would not charge me if the work is done within 80 days. It was signed by Robert, the owner.
I talked to American Home Shield nine times. I also have a total of 34 invoices and notes referring to my air condition at 2028 and 2030 with American Home Shield. They’re all for the same issue – a slow leak. Every time they come out here, they charge us for Freon. American Home Shield has been doing it since 2009. I googled it and it says Freon lasts for a lifetime. You don’t have to be buying it every year. I told the contractor that I had googled it but he said he told American Home Shield and they were told to put a Band-Aid on it. I even lost a tenant because of American Home Shield. It took them three months to fix the tenant's air. They refused to fix it and then they sent me an apology letter saying they were sorry and that they did see that it was in contract. The tenant didn't pay rent for three months because she had no air.
I got a call this morning from American Home Shield and I was on hold for 45 minutes. My cell phone says, "American Home Shield, one hour and 34 seconds." The lady told me that Air Fast cannot come back to my home unless I agree to pay $117 and some Freon. She said that they got a work order from Air Fast and that they cannot find the parts that’s needed for my air conditioning. I asked what they're gonna do in the meantime and she said they were gonna do research. I asked if she wasn't going to call me and she said no but she was gonna let me know that I would need $170 to pay for some Freon so when American Home Shield finds the part or when the contractor comes back out, I won't pay $117. So I called Air Fast myself and spoke to Jeremy. I asked what the problem was and he said their phones had been down for three days. I said, "You don't have an email? You'll don’t have a cell phone?”
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. I apologize for the inconvenience we've caused you. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you as I would like to speak to you more about your claim.

When the tech came out, he said that I needed a new ice cube maker. So, he put a new one in. But it’s still not working, so he's coming out again tomorrow and I hope that this time, they can figure out why it’s not working. I'd like to have some ice with my water. Other than that, Quality Services was wonderful and awesome. I was also satisfied with American Home Shield. They were very friendly and professional. As long as I'm breathing, I'm always gonna have AHS on my house. I love the warranty and I'd tell others to get it as well.

I recommended some people to American Home Shield and the good thing is that you appreciate the business and for their professionalism. I haven't had a problem, not one time. Every time I've called to set up appointment, they were there. One time, the air conditioner unit stopped blowing and when I spoke with someone to set up an appointment to have someone come look at it, the whole process went well. Even the contractors that came out, they were a great help. They ran everything to test the unit and everything came back okay. They explained everything to me and they looked at the thermostat and said that that was the problem. They changed that and now, I have air, so I'm happy.

I haven't had problems with American Hone Shield since I've lived in Florida. But We had a couple of questionable issues at the house we had up in Maryland that we thought should have been covered but weren't but it wasn't anything major. The air conditioner was working but there was a lot of water dripping from a drainage pipe and all around the unit. Apparently, the drainage pipe was clogged and not draining appropriately causing that excess backup of water. The first company, Comfort Air, came in and didn't fully diagnose it. They drilled it and rigged it. Whatever they did didn't work and the air conditioner stopped working within 24 hours. I was dissatisfied with them and I will never use them ever again. They were horrible.
American Team came out and they did a good job. They were knowledgeable and I got no problem with them. They diagnosed the issue and fixed it. They had the parts on the truck. I also showed them what the first company did and they cleaned up the first company's mess and fixed that as well. Everything is functioning now. Whenever I call American Home Shield for that air conditioner, I will always ask for American Team. If they send me the other company, I will refuse.
I wouldn't recommend Comfort Air to anybody but I would highly recommend American Team. As far as American Home Shield go, I've had them for many years and I've used them for many repairs. Some of which they came in was an easy fix and some where things had to be replaced. I have no problem with American Home Shield. They do a great job and I'm very glad I have them. They have saved me a lot of money over the years. I love them and I will always request for them. My biggest issue was with some of the people that they sent that aren't grade A. Some of the contractors that they use are not top-notch.

I called in a claim for my sink and disposal leak through American Home Shield's automated system. Shortly thereafter, I got an email saying that Moreno Plumbing had been selected to handle my claim. The techs wound up replacing our garbage disposal's trash compactor as there was a gap that was causing the leak. Now we can use our sink again. For the most part, we've had a good working relationship with Home Shield. I understand there are fewer and fewer things that are covered so there are times when I'm thinking I'm gonna pay 75 bucks and I paid several hundred dollars out-of-pocket because something wasn't covered. So, I've been sadly disappointed a couple of times. But any time that their contractors have come out, they have done a great job with whoever has been assigned.

We recently bought a house with a pool and we noticed a leak near the pump. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and that was really fast. The issue is when I need to call customer service as I'm on hold for a while with them. When I speak to somebody though, they have been very helpful and do everything they can to get my issue resolved. For my pool claim, they sent S & G Pools and Spas to do service. Everything was covered.
We've had four or five issues already and every one has been resolved with AHS's service provider. A previous air conditioner problem we had took two visits to figure out and for our pool situation, we needed AHS's contractor to come out again. Still, the pool people were phenomenal. We were also having some trouble with our pool chemicals and they helped us sort them out on the spot. The guy from S & G who was also servicing another pool in the neighborhood came by the next day to check on us at no charge. They went above and beyond.

I couldn't open the garage door from the opener that's on the wall. The remote openers wouldn't do it. Sometimes it'd go halfway up and then stop, then it would go halfway up again and stop. Sometimes it would take me a while before I could get it to go all the way up. It had been going on for a while, so I said something was wrong here. I called AHS to submit a claim. The rep did a good job and took care of what I needed to be taken care of. They got back with me pretty quickly via text message on who was gonna be coming out and their phone numbers and scheduling the appointment. They did pretty well. The contractors did a good job too. They called and they gave me a window as to when to expect them. I have two cars. He made sure that everything was working, and it was working from the cars, the wall and the remote. The repair made it more superior and it made it much easier to exit and come back to the house.

I don't know where I would be without them. We've been here close to two years now and I've had my AC go out three separate times. My well went out, and I had my dishwasher go out too. It went out twice and American Home Shield handled all those situations perfectly. They're spot on with what they do. When we call, within that evening or the next day, we'll get a callback from American Home Shield saying that they've got somebody on the way. The first time my AC went out, the guy put Freon in and the second time, they had to replace the control board in the unit upstairs. On the third time, they wound up finding the leak, fixing it and putting more Freon in. It's $75 each week, and that ain't bad at all. When my well wasn't working, they had McCrary Pump & Electric come out here. It was the control box that’s in here at the well and the guy wound up doing something and he got it back working.

They were nice and professional but I told them, "If this will cause fire, I will hold you liable and responsible because I told you exactly what the fire department told me." I am also holding American Home Shield responsible if something happens. I don't have peace of mind yet and I'm a little bit concerned because if the fire department tells you to do one thing, you're supposed to go with it. I pay for a service and that's supposed to be it. I don't want to have liabilities. But now the system is working so I'm happy.

Air Dynasty was fine. It was American Home Shield that wouldn't cover anything. The AC wasn't cooling and when Air Dynasty came out, they went up in the attic and said they needed to replace everything. But they said they could add refrigerant although American Home Shield won't cover it unless they replace everything. Then American Home Shield said they're not responsible for the replacing. So my out of expense would be $1380 to fix the AC plus the $100 that I sent to them. I ended up paying $480 for the refrigerant that will last through the summer and I'll fix it later. American Home Shield is a joke. I would certainly avoid those guys.
I just had the coverage for one year to try it out and when it expired, I did not renew. I had another air conditioning unit go out and the guy said it was being covered. But they were using refurbished parts at Wharton and they said it would be two weeks before the part would come in. I live in Houston so the middle of summer is hot and I wouldn't have air until the refurbished part comes in. I ended up paying out of my own pocket, calling the company back and having them put the new unit in. So I think American Home Shield is an absolute fraud. You pay them $100 and they send somebody out but it's some sort of racket because then the contractors write the reports up and then American Home Shield denies them. They don't replace anything.
I also had a water heater that went out in the fall. American Home Shield sent somebody out and said it has to be replaced. The lady from American Home Shield called and said she would tell me what they do have and then I can fix the water heater myself and they would reimburse me. So I went and did it. But then they denied my claim saying that the water heater had water damage so it wasn't their responsibility. Go figure.

For some reason, AHS had me under a Realtor so it was difficult to figure out how to submit my claim request or order request online. But once I was able to figure that out, it was pretty seamless. The Gibson Air Conditioning contractor was great. They showed up earlier than when they said they would. The guy gave great customer service and he listened to my concerns. I liked him. He was able to pinpoint the issue of just replacing a capacitor and he gave my AC a look over and said that they were great machines. The technician came and changed the pump for the water to go out because my washer was not doing the cycle. Then he just turned it on and said it was fine. He didn't stay to see. I put just a towel to check it and it didn't go through. So I turned it off and turned it on again. It worked for one wash or two washes and then it stopped working again and it said the same signal. So I called Big Country Appliance right away and I asked if the technician could come back because my appointment was originally in the afternoon and he came at 8:00 in the morning. But they said he couldn't come back because he was finished. It took another four days and then he came.
When the technician came back, he checked the washer and said the issue was the tub. So they asked for that piece and then they told me to call them after two weeks because they never call me back. He said that there were no parts for my machine and that they couldn't repair it. Then somebody from American Home Shield called me and told me to buy a new washer and just send the receipts and that I would get reimbursed. I've already sent everything on email but I haven't received any response.
I didn't want to keep on going to the washers because of the COVID. That was a risk. So I wanted a washer right away. But it took almost four weeks. Initially, I did the claim on the 28th and American Home Shield didn't have anything until the 10th of July. I had to wait another four days for the guy to come back and then it was another two weeks before American Home Shield told me that I could get a new washer. I don't know if they have customers ahead of me, which I am not gonna gripe about ‘cause everybody needs their stuff fixed. But it just takes longer than I would expect. Then if they have to order a part, it's another week or two. However, when these contractors come, they were really proficient in getting the job done. The service call here didn't get finished until a month later although I was okay with it because the guy that came out explained to me. He had to order a part and then he said he'd be back in the next week. When that time came, they called a day or two ahead and said they hadn't received the part. They kept me in the loop. There were also other people that I told AHS not to send ever to my house.

The first time Brick Street Plumbing came out, the guy looked at the leak and said that the faucet needed to be changed. The garbage disposal apparently was leaking and that needed to be changed too. He said, "AHS won’t approve your brand so we're gonna get the simple brand there is." I said, "That's fine. Whatever AHS allows, just get that and fix the problem." It had caused so much leak that we had additional damages to take care of, and I wanted to get that damage out. He said he was coming back so I didn't look for any sheet that said what he did. I thought once he completed the job, he would give me that.
He came back after the weekend and installed the faucet and fixed the garbage disposal. But there were three other toilets that were leaking. He went upstairs and said it was just a change of flap. He installed three new flaps. He never came to sign any sheet. The other guy had come in for a small problem with the refrigerator but he had me sign off on his work. This guy just left. I called their office and complained that he wasn't following the protocols. He didn't have any mask on and hadn't signed any afterwork or showed me whether the thing now works.
All the toilets were not even working. He said that he fixed it but nothing was fixed. The leak stopped, but it had a new problem. It wouldn't even flush, like it was locked. There was no water coming out. Essentially, three of those toilets can't be used. There was one half-bath toilet that everybody had to use. Then the faucet that he had installed wasn't getting hot water. Only one-sided cold water was working. I had to tell the first plumbing guy to come back in again. After a couple of days, they sent a new technician who was very professional. He had his mask on and fixed everything that the guy had left undone. He fixed the toilets again. He fixed the faucet again, and now it started to work as intended. It was not a great experience with Brick Street, but ultimately, the second technician who came out really did good and completed it.
AHS has been pretty responsive. When I have issues, I just go online, pay my $100 copay and put what problems I have. Then the contractor calls me and they schedule a time for fixing it. I had an older program and missed the update of the program. I had an issue and the issue wasn't covered under the program that I had for years, but it was covered under the new program. I had to go through some rigmarole to get that fixed. They finally did adjust it though it took a while. I was okay and didn't wanna go through trying to change it. If I have an issue with one of the vendors, they'll either send someone else out or try to work with me to fix it. At another time, a guy came and tried to repair my dishwasher and he wasn't able to fix it. It wasn't his fault though. It was an old dishwasher and it took him a while to notify AHS that I needed a new dishwasher. As soon as they found out I needed a new one, they had a replacement out here.
It’s super important to have a home warranty because if I had to do the repairs that I had AHS do, I wouldn't have been able to do them. Whenever I call in to the support center though, it’s a long wait. If they had an app, that would be better. If they have an option where we can cancel online, that would be better as well instead of having to wait for somebody to cancel a dispatch request. There were a couple of times where I needed to cancel, but I had to call them and cancel and the whole time was too long. Still, it's better to pay AHS that little fee to have whatever I needed done, and it's not multiple fees. When I had my dishwasher done, I had my dryer done too because it just so happened to break around the same time. It was just one fee, so it’s worth having.

The plumbing people American Home Shield has on their list are not very good. They need to look more into who they contract with as far as plumbers go ‘cause I have not had good experience in the last week. They can’t just hire some random people to put on their taskforce. They went ahead and assigned me a plumber so that was who I had to wait for to call, which I don’t feel like that should have been a thing. They should’ve given me a list of a few that I could review myself. If you have a leak in your house and you need a plumber, you can’t wait 24 hours for somebody to get ahold of you. The last time when I filed a claim, I ended up calling my own people because the last 2 people that I tried to use through American Home Shield were not very good at all. I spent $100 for no reason because they misdiagnosed what was wrong and I ended up spending my own money on something different.
I’ve had both services before and if it was about the house and appliances, I would tell everybody to do American Home Shield. I had claims for home appliances and the process was super easy, super quick, and awesome. But with the experience I’ve had with the plumbing and the water lines, absolutely not. I would tell them to just cover the appliances with American Home Shield.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. My name is Stacy and I have just sent you an email as I would like to contact you in an effort to assist with a resolution.

Since I bought the house in November, I've had American Home Shield. It was pretty simple when I made a claim with them. I spoke with a very good representative. They sent John Hudgins Plumbing out. I ended up having some really weird heating issues where the heat was inconsistent and the contractor had to check it. They said there was an issue with the water heater. It was leaking. From the time I made the claim until everything was fixed, about a week passed. I was pretty pleased with how everything turned out. American Home Shield and the water heater company were quick. American Home Shield was able to answer all my questions and any concerns that I had so they were pretty good.

Blizzard Air worked on the air conditioner. They were very good. I got a text message or an email acknowledging the call. Then I got a phone call telling me when they would be here. A really nice and very knowledgeable technician came out and he was very punctual. He was well groomed, answered any questions we had really well, gave us some information, and did his work. I even asked the gentleman some questions about regular maintenance thing on the air conditioner which he was very knowledgeable about. I also got his card so that in the future if I have air conditioning problems, I would really recommend that I asked for them specifically, if possible. We were very happy with him. Blizzard is of the best contractors that's ever come out to the house and we've had American Home Shield for years. I tried to have three claims be open but only one of them was allowed. For one of them, I had to find my own vendor and I'm still having a hard time. The pool company that came out, J&J Pools, tried to rip American Home Shield off. The technician came out, walked up to the spa side and said, "Yup. Outside spa. Can't do it. We don't work on those." But I had sent pictures of the spa motors, inside and outside, to their company. I asked the technician why he came if he wouldn't work and he said he couldn't get the $100 any other way. It was ridiculous but it's even more amazing that the guy could be so stupid to tell me that. I don't like fraud. Not that it was gonna cost me any more money but it really pisses me off. I spent time on the phone with the owner of J&J and told them about it, and they apologized.
Then after almost two hours of waiting, I spoke to American Home Shield. They sent somebody else out and when the guy came out, there was no problem. I bought the house in November and because of COVID, we hadn't been here. When we came here, the house had been sitting for so long that a lot of the things weren't working well. I wasn't familiar with the aboveground spa so the technician showed me something and we paid the $75. Then I got bills from American Home Shield that they wanted 75 additional for the second call to come out when it was a recall. But it was resolved.
There's also a problem with Allstate Plumbing. The plumbing thing was just fixed a few days ago and the call was probably more than a month old. I can hardly wait to see what my water bill's gonna be like on the month of my shower leaking. A young kid initially came out and he seemed very nice and professional. He changed a valve but maybe 40 minutes after he left, when the pipes filled with water, it leaked again. He came back and changed parts again but it leaked again. Then when it leaked, it went down through my ceiling down to my downstairs right below the shower. He told me it was gonna cost me 400 and something dollars because they have to come break the shower apart. I was not sure why he was breaking it apart but I told him he can access it through the drywall. He said if that was the case, it would only be $200.
I asked what he was gonna do and he said he was gonna change the valve. But I told them not to change the valve. It's a brand new valve. He had changed it two weeks prior. He said he was told it needed to be changed. I said his guy was not giving him good information. As for the amount they needed out of my pocket, the reason was that American Home Shield rejected any future claims on this because they said it exceeded the limit.
There's a serious problem here. As it turned out, they sent their supervisor, Roberto, out with new fixtures, handles and faucets for the shower. But they sent him with the wrong kind. But it took him less than five minutes to solve the problem. He said the kid that came out put the valve in cockeyed and when he tightened it, it straightened itself out and destroyed the rubber washer. That's why it was continually leaking. But why did it leak through the floor? The guy on the phone said it couldn't be related. But the house has been sitting here and it had never leaked through my ceiling until their guy left. I had a bubble and the water burst all over the floor.
The guy said that the kid didn't know what he was doing. You're was supposed to do something called burp the line and let the water out of the faucet so that when you take the valve out of the shower, water doesn't continually come back up. So once he had the valve out, all the water in the pipes leaked through the floor, through the drywall and down to my downstairs. All the kid had to do was turn the water faucet on in the sinks in the same bathroom and it wouldn't have done that. So Roberto was gonna go give the kid a lesson when he got back to the office and they're supposedly sending somebody out to repair the drywall damage, paint and fix the faucets with no additional parts without me paying $400 and without them billing American Home Shield another $200.
Roberto from Allstate Plumbing is top-shelf. He fixed the problem. But they sent the kid out three prior times – two times to make installations and there was nothing left for him to replace. There's a cartridge and there's a valve. Those are all there is. So when that didn't work, he must have realized that he did something wrong. He's spent to try to delay it or diffuse it. Roberto was sent up to change the fixtures but the handles don't cause leaks and they didn't need to be replaced. They weren't replaced and the problem is now finally gone after a month.
So unless we're vigilant as consumers, companies are gonna take advantage of people like this – not only the homeowners but also American Home Shield. This was a tiny drip in the shower, initially. It was worse after the kid came. That's why I tried to complain but I couldn't get anybody to talk to and when I got somebody, I explained and they said they would call me back but they never did. I was very dissatisfied because of that.
I've used American Home Shield and HSA. I guess they’re the same now but for a very long time and I don't know if this is COVID but no one answers the phone. It's taken two hours at times to get through and it doesn't matter what options you press. I tried to get really creative to see if I can get the wrong department to respond to me. That didn't work. I wrote emails to the privacy department. Nobody responded. I got a survey and I asked for them to contact me three weeks ago. I got an email saying that I'll be contacted but nobody did.

Our washer and dryer started acting up and I called American Home Shield. I told them what was going on and within a day or so, they had an appointment with Tompkins. Tompkins came out and looked at it and there was gonna be quite a bit to repair. So, AHS offered me 400 and some dollars for the washer. I told the rep that I wanted to repair it. There was no argument at all. The contractor came in and repaired it. They replaced pretty much everything on it. At the same time that they were here for that, they looked at my dryer and it just needed some minor repairs. About two weeks after I was done, I had to call them again to have them come out and check the dryer. They had to replace some stuff on the dryer bearings. I was charged a fee of $80 and Tompkins was right out here right quick. We were only down for a day or two. Not only was American Home Shield excellent, so was Tompkins Appliance.
I’ve been with American Home Shield for five years and this was the very first time I used it. It was awesome how they handled my claim. My father-in-law had this for many years when they first came out and back then, if they couldn't fix it, they would replace it. I had some issues come up since then but I'm not feeling well so I'm just kinda waiting until I'm feeling a little better. I need to call them on the garage doors I have. I'm not sure what kind of problems people are having but these were expensive machines. We paid about $3,300 for them and I have them fixed by AHS.

We requested plumbing services for our home about a month ago. A plumbing company was sent out to look at the issues (2 leaking outdoor faucets, 1 broken bathtub knob in guest bath, and leak coming from master bath into kitchen). The plumber proceeded to tell me that he was unable to fix anything and actually made the guest bath worse by completely breaking the knob off and cut two holes in our kitchen ceiling to tell us that our master bath drain was leaking but he didn't know how to fix it. He told us that he needed to contact AHS to see what was able to be covered/fixed, which we have never had this happen before.
The plumber has always come out, fixed the issue and done! The plumbing company forgot to submit the info to AHS for multiple days then marked the request as complete. We have been on the phone with AHS more than a dozen times and all they keep telling us is an email has been sent to contractor relations. We have been told 3x now that a supervisor will call us within 24 hours. No one has called. I am very unhappy with how things have gone with American Home Shield and am ready to cancel my policy and go with another company.

I have used AHS for other properties but never have I had the complete misfortune to experience the lack of just basic Customer Service I continue to receive under my current home warranty contract. I am beyond frustrated trying to directly contact someone who could even pretend to care if my air conditioning repairs are resolved. I have been completely without any air conditioning for the past 5-1/2 days. It has been 97-99 deg in Houston on the coolest day and I was informed by your Customer Service rep that “AHS does not consider it a health emergency unless temperatures EXCEED 120degrees”!?! I only received this much information because I took initiative to make EIGHT phone calls to try and get status for my service repair request.
Each time I’ve called, I am forced to remain on HOLD no less than 40-45minutes before a person ever picks up. To add insult to injury, reps place me on hold to check status after taking all my account/contact info, only to disconnect the call and NEVER considerate enough to call me back so I’m forced to start this frustrating process over again. I’ve paid this contract for 2 years and never needed to use service until now. May as well not have contract since I’m unable to get any service!

After spending at least two hours on hold back and forth I called for a service call in the morning and didn't have any problems. I was contacted by the plumber immediately and received a work order from the company. The plumber said they were told to fix only one faucet and I had requested that 2 faucets would be fixed. She said contact the company which I did. After more than 30 minutes on hold I got a customer service person and after being on hold several more times I was told that this service was not covered. I read the contract to her and said under the plumbing headline I did not see where this service was not covered. After several more holds she read another section of the contract that said it was not covered even though the faucet is attached to the house it is not considered a household repair.
What a colossal wasted of time. I have not abused this service in the past and was quite disappointed in their response. I am going to pay for the work out of my own pocket. What is the point of having American Home Shield if it does not certain services due to some wording in the contract or a loophole such as if the faucet was inside it would be covered. Perhaps people should not tell the whole truth when requesting a service or have an attorney read the contract.

Updated on 07/10/2020: They send out contractors that do everything they can not to replace an item. We had initial Company come out that said our air conditioning unit was crushed prior to that a contractor did come out to stop the leak from our ceiling from the air furnace and said that the coils were collapsing on each other from the air conditioner and that’s what’s causing Bennette the issue with the air-conditioning unit. Air conditioner is 32 years old.
We had a second HVAC company come out that we paid for, gave them no information but they reported it was normal wear and tear as well. Now American Home Shield sent out a second opinion and I said the same thing that the first person said that the Coils have been damaged not that it’s 32 years old and it’s normal wear and tear but that is how American Home Shield will get away not paying for the air-conditioning unit. It’s interesting that two people non-biased came up with the same information but those working for the company did not. I would go with either first American home warranty Company or a different home warranty company because this is just out of hand that they go to this extreme to keep from repairing appliances.
Original Review: No matter what time of the day or night I call I am placed on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes. Once the call is answered then I can speak with our agents outside of the United States primarily in the Philippines. One incident that I’m dealing with right now is for a leaking air furnace that is leaking because the air conditioning unit is faulty. It is causing thousands of dollars worth of damage and I cannot get through to anyone to help me rectify the situation. Another incident involved my electrical. American Home Shield is aware that the company made notes if they had to come out and change light switches and a circuit breaker but they never returned and I can’t get anyone to fix this problem. Now they want me to pay another service for you to get them to come back out.

We had American Home Shield previously at our old house and it was okay, not great but okay. Our realtors bought us a year of home warranty through them for our new house. We recently had an issue with our septic tank having a clog and backing into our toilets and bathtubs. This issue happened on a Sunday afternoon at like 4 and after my husband tried to fix it for like an hour with no luck, we decided to put in a request for service hoping to get it resolved the next day. Until it was resolved we were not able to flush toilets, run water, or take a shower.
I called at 8am the next morning to the contractor assigned who told me that they couldn't come until Wednesday afternoon. I tried calling American Home Shield and said it was over an hour wait without the ability to leave a number and get a call back. I decided to find my own person to come out that day and pay out of pocket to do the work since I wanted to be able to flush toilets and shower over the next two days. I called American Home Shield again to try to inform them to give me a refund for my service fee since I was not using their contractor. Again it said it would be an hour wait and after being on hold for about 25 minutes, I gave up and tried to reach out to them via Facebook messenger and Twitter. By Wednesday, I had not received any response from them, so I called again to get another hour wait time and waited on hold for the full hour to talk to a person.
After telling them the situation and they verified that a contractor did not come out, they agreed to provide a refund for the service fee. Fast forward a week later and just now they are getting back to me on messenger and Twitter. I have also not received the refund to my account yet. I would never choose them to be our home warranty company again and in a couple months when our contract is up with them, we will absolutely not be renewing. I would not recommend them to anyone!

I would give AHS now instead of 1 star, I would give them 3 stars. Within a day or two after writing my bad review, an American Home Shield Consumer Affairs representative named Kim really came through for me. She read through my problems I had with my water heater replacement, was very apologetic and asked for a copy of my invoice of the work completed even though I was never able to get approval to complete the work. Kim was very quick to respond and even got approval to get some of the money back of the replacement cost. Now it was about half of what the repair had cost but considering I thought I would be out everything this was a nice solution and I accepted the offer.

First time I had to use them on the house I live in they completely failed me. Every time you call, be prepared to be on hold for at least 40 minutes or longer. None of their contractors would come out to my house to fix my water heater and valves. AHS gave me permission to get an outside contractor on my own. Well here's the catch, the plumber has to call an authorization number to get approval to do the work and you CANNOT REACH ANYONE AT THE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. Plumber that came out and agreed to call was on hold for 2 HOURS exactly before the call dropped.
When I called AHS customer service for desperate help (ON HOLD FOR 45 MIN) they said there was nothing they could do and the plumber will just have to keep trying that number and maybe calling at another time will be better. NO PLUMBER WILL STAY ON HOLD FOR HOURS FOR ONE JOB!!! So I had 2 choices. Pay for a new water heater and valves out of pocket or no water/water leaking all over the garage due to busted water heater and shut off valves that finally failed.
Complete waste of money having this home warranty that I pay for monthly as they will not help you and now I'm out an extra $2,800 because I COULDN'T REACH ANYONE FOR AUTHORIZATION!!! DO NOT USE THIS WARRANTY COMPANY!! I'm calling to cancel today. I'd bet money I'll be on hold for over an hour this time, they won't give me my service fee $$ back even though they did nothing for me, and they will charge me $$ to cancel. This has been a money scam. The people running this company should be ashamed of themselves! I'm not surprised that several plumbing companies I called to do the work refused to be involved with a home warranty company even if I was the one paying them.

I had positive experience with AHS with smaller appliances like a microwave or stove range. Unfortunately, when the water heater leaked and needed replacement the experience turned to be extremely hard. AHS couldn't assign a plumber for a week - so we had no other way but to try and hire our own. Here the experience became even harder. Their process requires a lot of contact with the customer service and authorization desk to get approvals - unfortunately the only way to contact them is by phone with ridiculous wait times - close to an hour. Sometimes when I call early in the morning the system offers to call me back, but even then the agents sometime drop the call without calling back, and most of the times I need to just hold the line.
I've spent more than a dozen hours already on the phone with them over the last weeks, and my contractor just gave up on them, so I am starting the process afresh. I have my job to do - but I am wasting a lot of time waiting on the phone. We haven't had hot water in weeks. Hard not to come to the conclusion that AHS makes the process intentionally hard for costlier appliances to wear the customers down. Will be looking for another home warranty company unless AHS customer services substantially improves - that's their only product and unfortunately it's nearly unusable when I need it most.

I had to get a microwave repaired under warranty and the technician confirmed that it is something that cannot be repaired, and hence will need a replacement. They gave me a choice of model and told me to call a number and tell them when I have done measurements and made sure that the model they offered will fit in the place. Well that's it, I am one phone for a total of 3+ hours now waiting for their "busy" customer service agent to answer the call. And there is no option to setup a call back or even say I accepted their offer by emailing or even an automated website. This is the absolute worse I have seen with any customer service call. I would recommend staying away from this warranty company for just this reason alone.

I had some outlets in my living room and in my dining room area that had lost power. Alsup Electric came out and the technician fixed it. All of the outlets worked. He did a awesome job. But there was another company that came out to work on the dishwasher and initially, we asked them to come to look at the refrigerator and the dishwasher at the same time. But they only looked at the dishwasher. Then they came out a second time when we told them that the dishes were still not clean. The same person came out and inspected, and he did not look at the refrigerator again. He said that was not part of his scope but on paper, it said the refrigerator was.
So the refrigerator claim is still outstanding, even though we've paid the price to have someone come out and even though the claim has been on there twice. American Home Shield said the company would do it but the company told me that apparently, they do not do that. So there's some disconnect with who American Home Shield is hiring to do maintenance work. If the company puts it on their website that they do that kind of work but when they bring someone out, they don't do it, that's something that American Home has to revisit. For the dishwasher, the technician said that they needed to order a couple of parts in order to make it work. So we've been waiting to hear back from American Home to see when the company is gonna come back to do that or if and when the correct part has been bought. We understand it takes time for parts to come but we haven't heard anything.

Do NOT buy American Home Shield - COMPLETE RIP-OFF!! My AC unit went out a month ago. When I called in they did send a contractor 2 days later. The contractor determined a new unit was needed because the broken part was no longer available. For the next month, I spent at least 10 hours on hold/talking to AHS reps whom all promised to escalate my issue. Each call, AHS blamed the contractor for not giving all the info needed for a replacement unit. Meanwhile the contractor was blaming AHS saying they can’t wait for an hour on hold to give them the needed info. The contractor actually gave me their AHS special “pre-authorization” ID# and I called AHS and impersonated the contractor. I passed along the info AHS said they needed to the contractor a week ago and nothing...
So then three days ago I called to cancel with AHS. They put me to a “recovery specialist” whom promised she would escalate and even get their field acct manager involved. Of course no promised call back has occurred. So now I’m going thru Home Depot and canceling AHS. BBB you need to investigate AHS for fraud. I am betting any positive reviews on here are fake as well. People do NOT buy with AHS. You are better off saving the $50 premium and having your own rainy day fund.

All of the furnaces weren't lighting at all. So we had the appliance company, 3 Boys, come out and they did a great job. They were very professional. They took the stove apart and looked at it. Then they determined that it was an electrical problem. They submitted it back to American Home Shield and then AHS sent an electrical company out by the name of All Safe. They tested one of the outlets near the stove and the electrician said that the neutral on the power outlet was loose so he ended up tightening it and it solved the problem. So, 3 Boys didn't have to come back out. Everything is back to normal and I can now light my stove. I've been with Home Shield for a couple of months and I'm satisfied with what has been able to be covered so far. It also has been easy and convenient.

While I initially had a hard time doing a claim through American Home Shield as I just opened up my account, my rep was able to put in a claim for me immediately when I called her. From there, I was able to schedule when their tech from Dan's Pro-Lock would come by. The tech was on time, professional and informative. I had other questions about smart locks and he was able to answer them or give me his opinion. He was able to do a rekey for me and did a safety walkthrough about how we could improve our locks on a couple of different doors. It was a good experience.

A friend of mine who had some stuff go in their house tried American Home Shield just because they didn't see what the harm was and it was an affordable price. So, he figured better safe than sorry. One day, his air conditioning unit went down and it started a whole domino effect of other systems that went down in his house. So, he placed the call and next thing you know, a day and a half later, several different vehicles pulled up with different work people, and they got to work. They fixed them up in no time. His deductible from all the different services was only $500 but the work came out to several thousands. That paid for itself for all the time he has been on it. So, I tried AHS.
I had AHS going out of sight, out of mind. When I look at my bank account to withdraw, it's so nominal that you don't notice it. When my water heater gave out due to an electrical outlet, I had a domino effect myself here. I went into the basement to put something in my deep freezer and I smelled the odor. So, I opened my deep freezer and the power was out. The deep freezer was defrosted and all the meat was spoiling in there. I checked my circuit breakers and every time I tried to flip it, it would flip back. Nothing I would do would correct the issue.
I started searching the basement and my water heater was out as well. I couldn't figure it out and I was not gonna stay here and rack my brain and maybe get shocked. So, I did my claims on the app. A day later, I received the confirmation through a phone call and about another half a day later, I got two work people coming in and fixing my stuff. The tech came and repaired my outlet, which I could have done myself, but I didn't know. It's better safe than sorry. When the contractor came, they changed out my water heater. I only had to pay a separate fee. My pipes were not up to code and that was not covered by the insurance. Altogether, I spent maybe $430, but I've probably got about two grand in work. So, I’m keeping AHS.
My TV went out and I thought this was the same program for everything but when I checked my insurance policy, it was just for the home items. The TV was a whole different company plan which I don't subscribe to. But I appreciate the service through AHS as well as the quick responses and the personnel that come out. Both gentlemen were very professional. They came with masks and gloves and called ahead of time. They also texted ahead of time with pictures of who they are. You would not be scared of these guys because they would tell you upfront when they were coming and what they were gonna do. Then, they would tell you step-by-step everything what was going on. This way, you could feel comfortable.
The guys were great. They came in and did their job. The guy was apologizing while telling me he had to stick me with another $200. But he said that he was gonna try go into the company first to see if they could charge some insurance. Unfortunately, it wasn't covered but at least, he made the effort. Those were for electrical and plumbing so, I can imagine that the rest of these type of services that are in the policy will be just as good. I don't know how AHS is screening their contractors but way to go. I back this company 100%. American Home Shield did their thing as promised. I thought it had many hidden agendas or hidden fees. So, I was expecting to be hit with all kind of stuff. But they were truly face value and as stated. So, I appreciate it.

My hot water heater broke and I went online to submit a claim to American Home Shield. It was convenient and they said the contractor would call in 24 to 48 hours, which they did. Or we could call them. Interacting with Infinity Plumbing was great. I called them to ask when they would show up and if they had any availability earlier than what they initially gave me. They said they did, so it worked out wonderful. They showed up on time, and was very courteous in giving me updates on what they were doing and when they were finished. Before they got here, I didn’t have any hot water. So, when they came and fixed it, then I had hot water and it affected my day-to-day great after they fixed it. It helped because I got hot water. I love American Home Shield. They have one of the best home warranty coverages around. I moved from one home warranty to another one just because of their outstanding coverage. So, I enjoy it.

Our house wasn't new and American Home Shield came with it to cover the appliances and stuff. It's definitely worth to have it in the long run if you have issues. It's easy to submit the claims online, but it's not updated after that. If I go log in now, it still shows some claims that are open that are really close. Also, there are zero follow-ups from them.
I had an issue with my doorbell where it would just ring randomly. Then I had the issue with the wiring to the TV in the attic was plugged into my light, and then the third thing was my floodlights. When Elite Electric came the first time they said that the floodlights weren't covered 'cause there was power. Then the technician said he would get back to me about the attic wiring for the TV. But I haven't heard anything back from that.
The electrician changed the doorbell and then it was still doing it. So, I called back to American Home Shield and did a recall. They changed the chime. The guy said that if it didn't fix it, then they would need to come back and then replace some kind of wire. And lo and behold, at six o'clock this morning, my doorbell rang out of the blue. Elite Electric was good. They called and gave me a four-hour window between 8:00 to 12:00 and hey came at 10:30. But they haven't fixed the issue yet.
Thanks for letting us know how everything is going so far. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with your experience up to this point. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Take Care.

I would definitely recommend American Home Shield and so far everything's been easy. I got to talk to live person over the phone when I made a claim for our pool and they were nice. Splash Pool then came out super fast (within a day or two) to see if we had holes in our DE filters and I love them. On our closing, we had this voucher that we had to pick for a pool company and we picked Baker's Pools, but I never want to work with them ever. As soon as they're done with the money that we have over there, we will be using Splash Pool for anything else we need for our pool. They were really knowledgeable and they helped us with some things too. The repair made my life easier.

The contractors that came out for our plumbing issue fixed the problem. They were in and out in a reasonable time. They called right away once I sent the service order in and it was pretty seamless. So I had no problems with it. AHS reacted very quickly and I'm really happy with it. When submitting a claim with AHS, sometimes it's quicker to submit online. But I personally like to talk to a human. But sometimes I have to wait for the callback and sometimes that does take a little longer to get someone, plus you have certain hours that you could only call in where online you could do it any time. However, when you're online, you can’t ask any questions. So I don't particularly like going online to do it. If it's a straight and easy thing, that might work. But a lot of times I have questions. So I do wanna deal with a human.

They were very knowledgeable and they went through and troubleshoot the thing very quickly. We were very happy with them. We've had Home Shield for several years and the service has been good. Every once in a while, we have a problem and they come out and take care of it and we go on living. Sending in the claim is very easy. Just make a phone call and they set it up with their contractors to come out and take care of it. It charges $125 and they cover the rest.

The AC would turn off when the fan motor got overheated and the technician checked it. He said that the fan motor wasn’t that bad. It turned out that the capacitor was blown out. Everything is good with American Home Shield but I've been shopping around. I don't know if paying 600 a year is worth it or not and I would recommend people to shop around for other types of insurance.

I bought my house in '16 and I had American Home Shield at the time of purchase. I still have it and as a matter of fact I told my mother she should get the one I have and I would give her the number to call 'cause I have no problems. Recently, I had a problem with my dryer. The light was on but it wasn't turning. After I submitted my payment, they sent me an email that said what day the contractor was coming between such and such time. He came and did his job. He explained to me what happened and fixed my dryer. He also explained to me how I should follow up. He was polite and well-mannered. I had no problems. The repair helped me out a lot 'cause I had to go to the laundromat.
Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. We are happy that we were able to get the issue resolved for you. Our goal is to pair you with the best contractor that is knowledgeable and able to explain what is going on. We look forward to our continued business together. Have a good day.

The Southway guy that came out was good. He fixed the dishwasher and then he tested the disposal. He was very knowledgeable, very professional, very nice and sociable. The dishwasher was not draining and so, he got it to drain. He tested several times. He even had me to test it before he left. I had no problems with him. It was the second person that came out for the Drain Go which was the biggest problem I had.
They gave me a window. They said they were gonna come between 2:00 and 5:00 on a Wednesday. They called me and said they had an opening and that they might be early. But, I couldn’t do it early. 2:00 to 5:00 came and they never came and they never called. I called Drain Go and I was like, “No one showed up, what's going on?” The rep said, "He must’ve gotten busy. Can he come after this time?” I said, “No. I have something planned. You've already wasted five hours of my time. Nobody has called and verified.”
I was like, “We can reschedule. If you reschedule me on Friday, can I be the first one? Since you've already wasted five hours of my time.” She was like, “That's not how it works.” I said, “All right, you’re being very unprofessional, but go ahead and put me down.” So I went on and did what I had to do after that Wednesday, then after that 2:00 to 5:00 window, I got an alert. Drain Go was at my door.
I said, “Oh, okay.” The part that really bothered me on it was I had already told her I already had something to do. Then, two gentlemen came that day and barely spoke. They didn't even call before they came. They just showed up. I don’t even think they spoke to me. They never said anything about what was going on, but I was in the kitchen watching them. I noticed they went out to the car and got a box. They came back in and switched them out. But they never said, "Definitely not working. We're gonna go ahead and switch them out." When they finished what they were doing, they said, "Do you had to email," and they turned pulling their phone. Unlike the Southway guy, who tested the appliance and even told me to come test it myself, I didn’t see them test it.
The first time I called in to get the situation fixed, I waited for about an hour. I had to hang up from a service call and I called back like if I wanted to purchase American Home Shield and they picked up the phone immediately. That was how I got through. So when the issue was coming about with the Drain Go thing, I called back, the same thing. I stayed on the phone for 45 minutes. I was just on hold. I got off the phone. This time I masked my number. I called back like I was buying, an insurance client and the same thing happened again. I've called in twice and couldn't get a response on a request line to get something fixed, but when I turn around and call as a potential customer, they answer immediately.

I've been with American Home Shield for a few years now. Submitting claims has been super easy and I love their online interface. So far, some of their contractors have been just okay. When we moved in, we discovered a leak in our master bedroom. The plumber who was sent said it was not a covered item. However, he only told us that after he sawed a hole through our drywall. He already had access to the issue but then he wanted additional access. Fortunately, AHS sent out someone to fix our drywall.
Another time, a tech came and he felt like a slimy salesperson. He recharged our air conditioner with Freon but then tried to sell us a $12,000 air conditioner set. He also told me that while he could recharge my unit with Freon, it's just gonna leak out again. We opted for the recharge and the air conditioner has been fine since. So, that was kinda aggravating. Most recently though, Complete Garage Door Services came out for our claim and I was super happy with their service. They got everything done on the first visit.
Thanks for letting us know everything worked out great for you. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

The contractor was very cooperative and he made sure to go one step further to solve the problem. He was very good. Our AC turned out to have two issues but the main issue for not cooling was the lack of Freon. At the same time, there was a shortage issue that he followed up. He found out that the power in the AC and in some parts of the house were disconnecting. The circuit breaker was shutting off so he told me that there was also an electrical problem that I needed to take care of. I called American Home Shield for the service and because of COVID, you have to wait a long time to speak with someone live. After the wait, I placed the request on the automated service on the phone.
I have two properties and the service went to the wrong property, which is the oldest property in their system and it was supposed to be for the second property. Luckily, that property is very close to my residential house so, I met the guy. He told me that the house didn't call for a service so, I figured out what happened. I went back to the next street and I told him that this service was supposed to be for the other house. It was very hot and I had new people that moved in just a day before and there were so many kids. I just wanted this problem to be solved as soon as possible so, I told the person to head to the second property so I could call back American Home Shield and put the service on the other one.
It took me over a half hour to reach someone from AHS and meanwhile, the guy went there. But he had to wait for confirmation from them. I spoke with someone and that person was good. He canceled that one, put the new service and took care of the refund. The refund was a little bit different though. I had $75 for the first, which was taken out and then refunded back. I could not understand why the second one was $100 but it's okay. I got my service taken care of and I paid the guy because the Freon was not covered. I paid him separately and everything was done. This tis was the second time it happened that it went to the wrong place. It happened two years ago with a similar issue.
Thanks for sharing that feedback. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

I knew something was wrong because the AC is pumping out air but it's not a lot and it's not very cool. That's when I first submitted a claim online. I like the website. It's very user-friendly. I've requested two or three things online now. It told me I would get a confirmation email within 24 hours that a contractor had been assigned. I got my email and my text for the confirmation within 30 minutes of me submitting the claim online, which was awesome. And then, I got the call from the contractor on the next business day because I submitted it on a weekend online and then I got the call on Monday.
Greenway did a good job. Normally, when the contractor gives you such a big time slot, you expect them to show up right at the end, but they showed up early which was cool. I let the tech in to the backyard, he looked at the air conditioning unit and there was water in it and he had to drain the water out. Also, he said something was wrong with the fan. He got it taken care of and handled quick. The repair helped a lot because we weren't having a lot of cooling on my house considering it was 85 degrees. Now, I'm at a much better, cooler temperature. My dogs are a lot happier. Things have been a lot better.
I recommend Home Shield to everyone who buys a house. When I'm at work or when I have a friend who's interested in buying a house, I tell them to make sure that they get a home warranty and I specifically tell them to get Home Shield. Since I've moved in, I've had my heater go out and my AC and dishwasher needed to be fixed. I can't imagine the cost I would have had if I didn't have a home warranty company and I'm very thankful that I have Home Shield. They are always on top of it and are so responsive.

When our air conditioner went out, the temperature was in the triple digits here. It affected our day-to-day greatly and American Home Shield expedited the claim for me. When the cooling unit was turned on, the thermostat would go blank. So the unit would be on for a couple of minutes then it would go off and we’d notice that the house wasn’t cooling. I submitted the claim over the phone and had a good interaction with their rep. The young lady told me the contractor, E & E Heating and Cooling, would be out within a couple of hours.
Eugenio was very professional and he informed my brother what he had to do to get it fixed. Everything is fine as of now. The warranty is a great investment. My parents introduced me to American Home Shield and I've had only one issue with them before so it's been a great experience thus far. It will be something that others should look into. In fact, I have referred some people to purchase home to purchase American Home Shield.
