We had a Samsung stove that has gone out for the third time. It had a couple of minor things and then it kept getting an error code that required you to unplug the unit from the wall or cut off the circuit breaker and cut it back on. When the repairman came out and looked at it and checked the error code, Samsung apparently no longer made the part that needed to be replaced on the stove. So, it was at that point that it kicked in to replace it. I emailed the claim with an attachment and the check arrived yesterday. I also called for appointment clarification and the interaction with the rep went smoothly. I also had a dryer that we’ve had a couple of repairs on it. On one, the technician had to order a part and come back. On the second one, the technician was able to repair it on the spot. He had the part on the truck. My experience with AHS has been great and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

If I call in a request with AHS, it seems like it’s always a week or so for anybody to come out. My pet peeve is for instance if I had a leak or a clogged up drain, they come out a week later. I gotta fix that. I couldn’t wash clothes, wash dishes or use the sink. The tech that came out was really nice and professional about his business, but it looked like he was just trying to do the least he could to fix the problem. When the washing machine guy came out, as soon as he hooked it up again, it did the same thing. And the plumber came back out again and he ran a snake down the drain, and he said it was fixed again. When the washing machine guy came back out again, it still wasn’t fixed. The third time he came out, he finally put a snake into the external cleanout system and that fixed the problem. If he had did that the first time he came out, he wouldn’t have to come back.

When I told AHS about the leak under the sink a different tech came out and he was really nice and professional, and fixed the problem right on the spot. Now, the electrician, I have a overhead porcelain light fixture in the ceiling, you pull a chain, an on-off switch. When he came out the first time he said he had to order parts. And then when he came back out he had a little screw-in socket. It worked, but I was expecting to fix the whole fixture up there, put a new fixture in or whatever it took. I went down to Walmart or somewhere and bought that part probably for less than $5 and did it myself, but because it was electrical, I didn’t wanna take any chances with it. I don’t know what he charged AHS for that, but I hope he didn’t charge them over $5 for that part.

AHS was a great warranty when I had it in another house so, I called AHS and got it when I built a new house. I’ve had it for close to a year now and the experience has been great so far. The washer wasn’t working and called it in to American Home Shield. I did it online on my phone and it was easy. I was given some dates and times, and I picked the time and date that I wanted. The contractor came within a short period of time. I was given 8:00 in the morning to 12:00, and he was there by 8:00 AM. It was great. He called me as soon as he got there and let me know exactly what he was doing. Once he figured out the problem, he let me know what it was, and then he told me what he was gonna have to do. As soon as it was completed, he let me know that he tested it. He was in and out of there in less than an hour and a half. I can do the laundry now and it’s nice to have the washer working.

Previously, I had a different company come out to do the vent cleaning. They went up in the attic. They went through my unit and it had massive leaking and mold. They wanted to send an HVAC guy in, and that’s when I called American Home Shield. Submitting my claim to AHS was very easy. I was very pleased with American Home Shield and Island Breeze HVAC.

Their tech Nix, went above and beyond because they had overbooked him. Island Breeze had already called me saying he wasn’t gonna be able to come out the day that was scheduled but he'd come out first thing the next day. Still, the tech said that he wasn't gonna get home till late anyway and asked if we could let him see what we needed. That was really nice. When he came and took a look up in the attic, he took pictures and invited me to come up. It was dry as a bone. I was very pleased with his professionalism.

The drain pipes underneath a couple of sinks had leaks. J&M repaired them very quickly and friendly. I had a sump pump that went bad, and American Home Shield replaced it through a differenet plumber. I paid my $75 that I had for occurrence, and everything went fine from there. AHS customer service has been fine, very friendly, and quick to react both times I had to call. One was way after hours, and they still were able to react.

I had a claim on a garbage disposal that was malfunctioning. There was no power to it. I would flip the switch and I would just hear a buzzing noise. So, I had gone underneath the disposal and put an Allen wrench in and was able to turn the blade. But it still wasn’t functioning so I knew there was nothing stuck in there because the blade would turn. When the first contractor that AHS sent came out, he was only at the house for a few minutes and said that there was nothing he could do. My wife was here and just after having seen it for a couple minutes, he left and said, “I don’t know if American Home Shield is going to pay this claim or not.” Sure enough, we got denial of the claim based on two things. One, the fact that the contractor said the blade wasn’t turning when, in fact, it was turning. And secondly, he said that there was a foreign object lodged in the disposal, which there was none.

Had I been home, I would’ve explained that to the guy that these weren’t the issues. It’s easier for them to be in the house for two minutes and just collect the $75 deductible, the service fee that we pay. He doesn’t care if the claim is covered or not. I had a different contractor out here at the house for a different issue and I explained the two things that were quoted by the first contractor that caused the claim to be denied. He looked at the disposal and said, “No, the blade is turning,” and confirmed what I already knew. And he looked in the disposal and said, “There’s no foreign object in here.”

So, I called American Home Shield back and explained it to them, and they said they’d have to send somebody out for a second opinion, which was Bear Plumbing. So, Bear Plumbing came out and when he flipped the switch, there was no power to the disposal at all. Bear Plumbing said that the reset button under has been broken, and they surmised that the first contractor had broken it. The contractor said, “So, therefore, I cannot verify anything here because I can’t press this reset switch.”

This was a week ago, Monday, and American Home Shield still has not gotten back to me on the second opinion, as to whether or not the claim is going to be denied or accepted, based on Bear Plumbing’s review. I emailed Bear Plumbing on Saturday and they said, “Well, we turned in our report to American Home Shield half an hour after we left the house last Monday. They should have it.” So, I put a second call in to American Home Shield this morning inquiring about the status of Bear Plumbing’s reports, and they said that they still had not yet received it. I found myself in a situation where it’s likely that I could pay two $75 service fees and still have the claim denied because the first contractor misdiagnosed the claim and then broke the switch, which disallowed the second contractor to do his inspection on it, so it’s, overall, been a very bad experience.

I have two houses and I have American Home Shield warranties with both houses, and I’m considering not renewing with them because of the bad experience I’ve had on this. I would not recommend them to other people and I would recommend to American Home Shield that they’d be more selective in their contractors. And then, there’s the disconnect somewhere with American Home Shield and their contractors, since it has taken a week now to get this second opinion in, and I still don’t have it. American Home Shield has to fix that communication gap somehow.

Once we went through the process and once we learned the part was no longer available, American Home Shield acted in a very reasonable time and they didn’t fight with me at all for the replacement. I had to wait on hold for a long time though when I called for the initial service request but other than that, the contractors that they’ve sent have been really good. They called and said when they’d be here and they showed up at the time they said they would be. They completed the installation and they cleaned up the oven and their work area. They performed the service very well and we were very pleased.

My toilet doesn't flush well at least once per week so I scheduled a service call with AHS. When the plumber came the toilet flushed well so he "wasn't able to do anything due to it was working at that moment - and no problem was found". I called AHS who confirmed that there was nothing they could do - they said they had to be able to verify the problem. I asked to speak to a supervisor to contest the decision and was transferred to "John". I explained again the situation that it was unrealistic to plan for them to 'see' the problem happening and I requested they at least come out and snake the line.

John gave the ok for this. He told me he'd place the work order to state for the plumber to come back and even if he could not verify the stoppage AHS would cover snaking the line and this would be covered under the $75 service fee I already paid. When I called the plumber to set up the appointment he said "John" gave me incorrect information. I called AHS back and they confirmed that there is nothing they can/will do. I asked to speak to someone else to contest this decision and was on hold for nearly an hour and never got through to anyone. It seems very unfair for me to pay $75 for AHS to do nothing at all to resolve this issue. I'm ready to cancel my contract.

I opened the claim, paid $100. The AZ Remodelling and Plumbing company did not show-up for the 2 appointments. I had to wait each time for 5 hours in an empty condo for the plumber. I called AHS 3 times. Talked to SV June. AHS changed the contractor to Hers and His Plumbing. They visited the condo and said that they need to replace the valve. They did not come tor replacement. I've called AHS again. They set another appointment. The plumber said that the valve should be replaced. They did not fix it again.

After weeks I had to call them again and sked when they will replace the valve. This time they said that American Home Shield rejected the claim and if I want to fix it I had to pay $185 out of my pocket. I am already paying my monthly fee for my 2 houses. And paid $100 for the claim. Now I hear that I have to solve the problem by my own. And pay additional costs... All the stages of this leaking problem is very sad. Sad that a company whom name starts with American is behaving like that. I will cancel my agreement but AHS had a very bad reputaion.

We requested service twice for a washing machine and once for a water heater. We were never contacted for service even though we emailed the given service provider so that we would have a record. The third time we selected the option for us to pay the service provider but AHS took the payment anyway. We decided to not renew the contract however after a call from AHS, in which we were promised a refund of the prepayment and that we could obtain service from a reliable provider if needed, we continued our agreement. It is now almost two months later and still, following a phone call in which we were told a reimbursement request had been submitted on March 24, there has been no refund. All in all a very unsatisfactory situation. My experience leads me to believe AHS does not value their customers.

I have a home warranty through American Home Shield (AHS). On March 31 I arranged a service visit for a clogged floor drain, a covered service under the contract, through AHS. They arranged for a contractor, to come to fix the clog. The company technician properly diagnosed that the drain was clogged and attempted to clear the clog through the floor drain. He could not clear it and left.

We later received a notification from AHS that the contractor said we needed clean outs installed to clear the clog and installation of such was not covered. We, in fact, already have two clean outs installed, one inside and one out, but the contractor did not take the time to find and use them. Since AHS said we were not covered and we needed working drains we got another company to clear them. We requested a refund of our service call fee, $75, and AHS refused (2 ½ hours of phone wait time) even though we believe the work performed was clearly negligent since the contractor did not take the time to find the clean outs, and mistakenly told AHS that we did not have the required clean outs.

I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but this was THE WORST customer experience of any product or service I have EVER had. I had a recent saga with AHS for a leaking water heater, which you would want to replace immediately because it causes you not to have hot water in the house... I discovered the issue on a Saturday and immediately put in the request online. First off, they assigned a plumbing service that wasn't open on the weekends. Fine, I had to wait until Monday to get someone to look at it. The plumbing service called me on Monday saying they couldn't schedule the service until Wednesday. Luckily, they had a last-minute cancellation on Tuesday, so I rushed back from work to wait for the technician.

When the technician came, they immediately saw that the water heater needed to be replaced. After explaining the process, he left after 5 minutes. I was thinking, ok great, at least AHS will cover the replacement. I get a call from AHS later that day. The customer service agent started off by saying the replacement and repair is covered. I was thinking, awesome! Then he goes, but there are some exceptions for the service that won't be covered. He starts listing out specific line items (mumbo jumbo for anyone who's not AHS) and amounts for each. Of course this is where the plumbing service will charge extra to try to recoup some additional revenue (which AHS has pressured them to keep under $250 per service). And guess what... It amounts to a whopping $705.

My blood starts boiling, since when the sales rep sold me service, they paint this rosy picture that every item in the contract will be covered. What they don't tell you is that the service providers will find additional services to charge you which they charge at exorbitant amounts. I tell him I'll think about it. Later that day, I'm doing some more research on their website, and look at the page for water heater coverage (https://www.ahs.com/home-warranty/systems/water-heater/water-heater-coverage/). In a bit of misleading marketing (bordering on FALSE ADVERTISING), under BASIC WATER HEATER COVERAGE they say Permit and Code Upgrades are covered up to $250. Of course BASIC WATER HEATER COVERAGE isn't really basic, since my contract didn't have Permit and Code Updates covered...

AND by the way to go through this process, I was on the phone for about 2 hours, with 1.5 hours of those on hold... They finally offer a cashout option, which I know isn't going to be very much, but I decide to find out how much. They said the team will call me back. 2 days later, they finally do. The amount they're able to give is a measly $588. So I say, "I'm going to reject this offer and go with getting the service."

ANOTHER 2 days later, they haven't called me back yet, and by then I've given up getting the water heater fixed that week. But I want to call in to make sure the case is being processed. After being on hold FOR ANOTHER 40 minutes, the customer service agent tells me they never captured my rejection of the cashout option and to proceed with the service request. I was FURIOUS. Not only do they make you pay out of pocket for things that you had thought was covered. Even processing the case THROUGH AHS they try to delay as much as possible. Needless to say, if you're in the market for home insurance, I would stay away from AHS. I would also be careful of any home insurance company and what they promise you when you sign up for the service vs. when you actually need them.

We have been with AHS for over 3 years, but this may be my last. The contract fee has gone up each and every year during that time, but service has gotten worse. We had a leak in the toilet upstairs which cause damage to the ceiling downstairs. AHS refused to fix that because it is secondary damage. The technician even refused to put sealant around the toilet because it isn’t covered by AHS. We were surprised because AHS had previously told us the leak is covered if wet when the technician gets there. Anyway, that was a lost battle.

On Saturday, April 27th, we came home to find our water heater was leaking. We called AHS to have someone sent right away as it was an emergency. The first rep first concern was to collect the service of $75. She told us the company was going to contact us. We waited for about 30 minutes, then called back. This time, the rep was more helpful. She was able to have AHS agree to send a contractor the following day. After two calls, AHS dispatched a plumbing company on Sunday the 28th that reported we needed a replacement water heater and reported the significant damage all that water leaking had caused. On Sunday, we received a call from AHS informing us that we have a $597 bill to pay for them to replace the water heater.

On Monday, April 29Th, we called AHS to understand what the $597 represent. We had to try several times to even reach someone. The rep wasn’t helpful. Furthermore, when we requested to speak to a service manager, we were told nothing further would be done by a manager. I insisted and was put on hold for at least 30 minutes before someone claiming to be the manager came to the phone. They advised me AHS would not help with the damage caused by the leak as those are secondary damage not covered by our contract.

Now for the water heater, the plumbing company is charging me $597 for an “in-kind” replacement. This fee is supposed to be for uncovered modifications. AHS informed me that the plumber word is final. So, AHS is saying we have only two options and 10 to 14 business days to respond: 1. Pay their contractor the $597 and they install the water heater or 2. Take the cash out of $400 and we are on our own. I checked the price of our heater and it costs more than $600 (the model has been discontinued and the corresponding replacement is $644.95), so they are not even willing to cover the cost of the actual water heater.

Here are the links: https://www.bradfordwhite.com/documentation **. We offered for them to buy the water heater, send it to us and we will hire our own plumber which they flatly refused. We asked the manager which modifications were needed since it is an “in-kind” replacement but received no answer only that the contractor has the final say. We are just flabbergasted by the fact that they will not even pay out enough to buy a water heater basically cornering us to have it their way. AHS is supposed to have their customers interests at heart but in this case, we seriously have doubts.

I called American Home Shield back and they said that the contractor said it works. I said, "Yeah, he says it works. But he also says it's a wrong size for my pool. Therefore, it doesn't work." I was on the phone with the rep for an hour and I got nowhere. One of the main issues is the language barrier. I had a hard time understanding the person that I talked to and she was not understanding me at all. I finally convinced them to allow me to get a second opinion. So, somebody else is gonna come out, but she told me that if the person who comes out has the same finding, then they are gonna charge me the service fee of $100 again, and I am not happy with it right now.

I called on a Friday morning, and they made an appointment for me that day. The appointment was for the following Monday. The gentleman told me it was the condenser that was bad, and he replaced it. He was there 20 minutes and everything was back up and running again. He was able to do that all in one day. The contractor was great --- I guess that it was a family-owned business beause the gentleman who came was actually the son of the lady who made the appointment. My son referred AHS to me. I try to do my claims online but for the past couple of times it wouldn't allow me to, so I would have to call. And there was also a long wait, like for 20 minutes, for someone to answer. But the claim reps of AHS were helpful. They said someone will reach out to me within 24 hours. My refrigerator was forming ice behind the fan, and the temperature wasn't possibly cooling the food like it did because the fan wasn't working due to the ice.

The contractor tried to repair the refrigerator. It was working fine after he left. And then the following day, I noticed the ice. The contractor replaced another part of the freezer, and freezer is making ice, so I have to call them back. The fridge is also making that can noise again, so I don't know what's going on. The copay is also a little high, but they couldn't fix my washer. But they gave me a replacement cost in order to purchase a new one, which is great.

I figured that something is always gonna go wrong, so I might as well get my things covered. I’m satisfied with American Home Shield, but I had a previous experience going through them on an issue and nobody got back with me. I didn't like that because I called, then one person said he was gonna email me some information and get back with me, and they didn’t. I called again and told the person after a week that nobody got back with me, and still nobody did. It was my air conditioning and heating unit, so I went out and purchased another one.

The most recent claim was I had a leak in my bathroom and it was leaking somewhere in my kitchen as well. I told American Home Shield that I needed a plumber to come out, and they told me that within 24 hours, someone would be contacting me and they did. The first one that came out checked everything because my faucet was also dripping. He corrected that problem, but he checked the leak that was happening in the bathroom. He would need to get somebody else to come out because he needed to change the whole faucet and clean the other end, so he said he couldn’t do it. He needed to contact AHS to be able to get somebody else to come out. He’s working on it now though.

I kept looking at the advertisement for AHS on TV. And looking at how appliances go out so fast, I just wanted to make sure we were covered because who has $1,100 just sitting around just waiting for an appliance to break down. It's almost like having a car and your extended warranty, it covers stuff wherein if you don't have the money, you have the warranty and it pays for it.

I've been with AHS for three months now and my experience with them has been absolutely wonderful. The hot water heater was dripping so I submitted a claim. I called Monday, and they were gonna send somebody out on Wednesday, and then they called me back and let me know that they had an appointment open within 15 minutes after I get off the phone with them. So I went ahead and took that appointment.

The technicians were both very professional young guys. They shook our hand and let us know what the problem was, and they were getting on the solution right then and there. They saw the dripping and they knew that it was already gone. So they went ahead and called AHS and let them know what the problem was, and they got everything going. They're gonna have to replace it. They just got to do some modifications and it's gonna cost me out of my pocket. But it's okay. I'm very satisfied with AHS. I talked to my sisters and my daughter to have it. I've also talked to my boss and all of them are getting it because it is a lifesaver.

I submitted a claim with American Home Shield originally for pre-summer AC maintenance, and I did it through their website. And that process was easy. Everything was led up to where it brought attention to what I wanted to select, and then it had the easy access for the request repairs or request services. It had it already highlighted in red to where it stood out. From the site, it didn’t really give a time of when the contractor would come out. It just notified us of a time that the contractor will contact us. And then, once the contractor contacted us within that time, it was when we expected them to come out.

My experience with the contractor was good. When they called, they had availability that same day. So, the time that they came out was more at the convenience of me. They had a quick turnaround service. Also, the service was really good. They ended up not being able to do the tune-up bill, but the contractor informed me of an actual issue with the AC unit that we had, and then also let me know that potentially, there would be an extra charge through Home Shield since the actual issue was found. So, he made me aware of what to expect. I was pleased with it.

He made sure I understood anything that they needed to advice. He didn’t do the preventative maintenance because there was an underlying present issue there. He said he was gonna put in the order for the part for it. Right now, we're waiting on a response from them once they get that part in to schedule the actual repair for the unit. All in all, I recommend American Home Shield to everybody. Now, seeing how much repairs could cost, having the warranty is worth it. We've had a good experience so far. I have no complaints and there had been a quick turnaround for everything.

Updated on 05/04/2019: Here are pictures of my AC unit that the contracted American Home Sheild World Class AC Inc. said is repairable even though two attempts were made and I still have been without AC here in Florida 9 days and counting. I have spoken to various supervisors and have wasted a lot of my time trying to get this resolved. The bottom of my unit, as you can see is rusted out and crumbling. Yet they are going to try (key phrase here) to repair it. Long hold times when calling only to be told that the escalation dept. is busy and can't take my call and I cannot hold for them and that I need to call back. Their initial diagnosis, which took World Class AC Inc. 2 days to even send the info to AHS was up to 3 months for them to repair it.

I would recommend thinking twice before signing up with AHS. We are stuck with their slow boat to China services because their home warranty came with the house that we purchased. Actions speak louder than words, and action is not in their vocabulary or in their customer service agents' scripts that they read from when you call them. Buyer beware with this company, which makes me wonder how they get any good reviews.

Original Review: I set up a service appointment cause my AC unit was not working. After leaving several voicemail with their contracted vendor, a technician was sent to my house. He told me that the parts needed to fix my AC could take up to 3 months to arrive. Are you kidding me? I live in FL. What kind of a racket is this. No reputable AC company would take that long to get a part. The tech also lied and said that they were not the company that serviced my unit back in Oct. After calling AHS and waiting 30 mins for a customer service agent, I told him to stop reading his "script" and get me a supervisor.

I was transferred to their "resolution dept". She assured me that she would call me today because the company that serviced my unit had not yet submitted their diagnostic report. Very frustrating waste of my time with phone reps that are difficult to understand due to a language barrier. The "resolution dept" agent was very nice as it was not a happy call, but I will see if they wind up fixing my AC in a timely manner. My next step is the Better Business Bureau.

We just decided we were gonna pay for the repair and use our own company, or we were just gonna pay that same company that came out ourselves. Then, we switched to AHS and I'm really glad we did. They cover a wide range of things and we have five refrigerators and three ovens, so we appreciate that. With the old company we were with, we were limited to two garage doors and one refrigerator. Aside from that, American Home Shield has always been quick to respond to our needs. Their policy is a little bit more expensive, about 50% more than the one we had before, but you never know what's gonna break, what's gonna need repair, or what's gonna need to be replaced.

Recently, there was an issue with the pump of my pool. We submitted a claim with AHS online and it's a very convenient way of doing it. It takes me days to sit in front of the computer, pull up my policy number, and submit something, but once I try to do it, it really just takes minutes. But we've gone out of our way to make a phone call to AHS and request GN Pool Services. They’ve been great. They come quickly and do the job completely. We've been really happy with them. I went to put something in the oven, and the oven just went out. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield for it, and a gentleman was sent out initially to fix the stove. We tried to work together to see if we could get the parts and fix the oven. We both relentlessly tried to find the serial number, calling each other back and forth. But that model had been here for a while, and we couldn't find the serial number. So AHS decided that they would get me another stove or range. I called AHS again and they were right on it. Now everything is great and working fine. The range looks good and comparable to my other one, and I like it. I had a great experience with American Home Shield, and I would definitely recommend them to anybody who owns a home.

I was having water pressure pump issues and the contractors were fine. They were professional and they answered questions. The work got done by the second contractor that American Home Shield sent out. Apparently, the first one doesn’t work on the electrical systems for the pump, and the second one is specifically for that type of work. They did a fine job too. The pump is now working the way it's supposed to.

The online process for submitting claims is also fairly simple. But trying to get ahold of someone is damn near impossible. It's not a very good option. On top of that, American Home Shield should learn how to read their own contract. They like to argue over semantics with regards to wording in their stuff so that they don’t have to cover anything. So instead of helping the consumers, they take our money and then try to fight us with regards to not paying for or covering what they should be covering. They live off the words "nothing else for the well pump". But they cover major electrical systems and both of these pieces I had were major electrical systems in my opinion.

American Home Shield needs to fix their contracts so it specifically says what they don’t cover and not live behind small ambiguous words. I would also make sure that a person considering an American Home Shield policy would read their contract and then get specifics from American Home Shield. They say they cover the well pump but they don't cover parts. So what parts aren't covered? Specifically ask about that and then choose wisely when you're choosing them.

Recently, we had a hot water heater leak and I filed a claim online for it to American Home Shield. It was very easy and the tech was at our place within 15 minutes of getting the order. He was very professional and very quick. In less than half an hour, he was done and had the leak repaired. However, AHS had a promotion for the tune-up which I wanted to take advantage of, and it was only $75. So, I did that, and I called. However, we had an issue that had to be repaired, which I was told they couldn’t do it while the techs doing the tune-up were here.

I was told that I would have to call American Home Shield back and have a new work order issued. I would have to pay another $75 fee for the guy to come back out to make the repair, which is not good. I don’t need to pay somebody $75 to tell me my unit’s good. I’ll just wait till it breaks down. There is no incentive for doing the prevention. So, I learned from that and from now on, I just won’t do anything.

I submitted a plumbing claim over the phone with American Home Shield but it turned out not to be a plumbing issue. The technician said the issue has to be the dishwasher because it cycles except the last cycle. American Home Shield's customer service was based on what they were taught, and I realized part of it is my fault because when I was going through the same exact customer service, I should’ve asked to go over their head because I’ve been going through the same thing since June. I knew I had this ticket problem and I’ve asked them to have it taken care of. And they took up all my Saturdays. Since June, a lot of Saturdays is the availability of the technicians to come.

So, when it was obvious that they couldn’t figure out how to fix it, they still kept saying the technician had to write it down, and no one wanted to admit that they were wrong. So, I should’ve just went over the person that’s on the phone ask for the supervisor, so I could just get into it taken care of more quickly. So, I’m still waiting. I still haven’t gotten the final reports from anybody.

After a customer had called so many times, I suggest that American Home Shield's reps take it up with their supervisor and not all policy should be written in stone without understanding some issues. If somebody is still complaining about the same issue, then they need to think outside the box. And if they noticed the case isn’t closed out within a certain amount of time, they should contact the customer or they should be supplying the documentation to make sure that all of that had been taken care of.

I used another warranty service when I lived out of state at one time and I've only come back to AHS. I'm in a very rural area now, in a small town, so there are not any contractors in my area. They have to be called in from far away and I don't know if there is any way AHS can get contractors that are closest to me to make it easier for me and the contractor themselves because some of them have to drive for an hour. Recently, I had a plumbing issue and I submitted a claim for that, but it was quite difficult. The valve for my shower was bad. The contractor, Access Plumbing, tried to replace the handle but that didn't work, then they replaced the valve. They did a great job. I recommend AHS all the time.

I got American Home Shield when we moved. We put an AHS warranty on the house we sold and asked for an AHS warranty on the house that we bought. I wasn’t aware that there was a co-pay though. Until I called the first time, I didn’t know I had to pay anything. The rep said that the claim would cost me a $75 co-pay. The co-pay thing was probably hidden in the fine print somewhere. I don't know if it's necessary. I was also surprised because it was $75 the first time, and then it was $80 and some odd cents when the dryer broke down. I was given different rates between the two service calls. They also say that if they can't fix something, they will replace it. I don't know how that end of their program works though and I like all my facts in front of me. They should put the details in a pamphlet.

The first time I called American Home Shield, I called for a water leak. When I called them, I didn’t know what my policy number was and I got to talk to a person at that point. The plumbing company came out a day later. It took the tech 20 minutes to fix the problem. I also called AHS for my dyer. I'm an older person and when I call, I would like to talk to a person. But when I put my policy number in, it just went through a computer system that said I would be contacted by a company that they contract with. I got a call within the next day.

The tech came out the next day because I was off. The dryer's motor would run but the drum wouldn’t spin. He just added a new belt on the washer and replaced the switch. He did a really good job. With both claims, I was contacted by the company. They made the appointment and then showed up. The work was done on time and they did a good job. I would recommend AHS. It has been a good service so far and I haven't had anything that they couldn’t fix.

The most recent claim that I asked was for the annual checkup for my HVAC unit. I went online, logged on to my account and requested it there. I use the American Home Shield website most of the time and it's very simple. The only time I've called is if I wasn't quite sure if something was covered or not. What has happened very consistently is I normally get a text right away and an email saying that I'll be contacted soon. I typically get that call around 8 o’clock in the evening, within about 24 to 36 hours.

I've had a variety of different people come to my house and I've had great interactions with them. I've had a microwave repair, a toilet fixed, the HVAC and the ceiling fans. Each one of them has been really nice and very professional. I also had a heating thing up in my attic where my entire unit went out because of a fuse. They came out and fixed it, and then within 10 days, it happened again. The tech came back out and fixed it again very quickly. Everything else has been working great. As a first-time homeowner, if anything major goes wrong in my house appliance-wise, not having to stress about spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on something and knowing that it's just a flat-rate to have somebody come out and fix the problem is worth every penny of the peace of mind for it. It's been a great experience and so long as I can afford it, I anticipate keeping American Home Shield's coverage.

One weekend, I noticed that the air was running constantly and it was humid in the house. Then we noticed that the unit outside was not running, so we turned it off. I went online and put in the service request with American Home Shield. But contractors only call you on the weekday or business day. Fortunately, it wasn’t that hot outside. We opened the window and used the fan. Then Advanced Heating called me on Monday and set up an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. The tech came earlier than the time they told me, but that was fine since my mother was here. Otherwise, that wouldn’t have been fine because I wasn’t gonna be here until they said they were gonna be here. But he had the issue fixed really quickly and stayed around a bit to make sure it was running properly, and then he left.

Our house was built in ’84 and I’m sure the air conditioner unit is that old. When it’s really hot, it doesn’t run as well as it should run. I have to put it on 65 to keep it 70 degrees in here. To me, that means it doesn’t work and it should be fixed or replaced, or whatever needs to be done. But I was told that it’s old and so, that’s all it’s gonna do. Also, AHS tells me they only replace the unit whenever the technician says it needs to be replaced, and the technician says AHS won’t let them replace it.

I’ve also had a lot of plumbing issues, like a leaky faucet kind of thing and my master bathtub. I had to call AHS four times to have the faucet fixed, and I had to pay $75 every time the contractor came out. Finally, AHS decided to replace the faucet, but the technician would not take the tile off the wall to replace the faucet. The contractor told me I had to take the whole cabinet and sink out of our other bathroom to get to that tub in the master bathroom, which was ridiculous. It turned out, and they said, that the reason they would make us do that is because AHS won’t pay them to retile my bathroom after they take some out. After that, I was ready to cancel my AHS warranty. They paid me to buy a new faucet, but the new faucet is still sitting in there and my tub is still leaking. And this was in the fall.

If I had someone else come and tear out the tile, the plumbers would come and replace that faucet. But that’s gonna cost me thousands of dollars, and that's not what AHS advertised. On the radio, they’re saying, “We replace your AC unit and all of these things or whatever,” which they did replace a dishwasher for us once. I have two houses that I have the AHS warranty on, and I’m thinking of just cancelling them both because with the money I spend on it in a year’s time, I could just pay for the repairs that we have since AHS won’t fix our problem as much as I want them to.

And that was a few days past the 60 days. So, we waited again for another repairman to come out. He came out and he said it was another part. He ordered it, it took about two weeks, and he came back out last week. When he was here, he turned it on and the water came, the whole nine yards. We have a rental at Reagan Drive and on February 22nd, we put in a claim for an appliance there. American Home Shield assigned it to Total Air Care and Total Air Care sent out people who were not capable of fixing the unit. It was a mess. It got to the point where one of the technicians was looking at YouTube to try to fix the unit and he cut a bunch of wires. It was awful. We were in Israel and had to call just about every day.

Total Air Care sent a part but said it wasn’t the right part. Finally, I talked with somebody at Total Air Care who said they would send out a senior technician. They sent out someone who did know what he was doing. He was wonderful and had the unit fixed within an hour. He fixed it last week, May the 2nd. It was cooling when he left. He said that we had 30 days and to call if we noticed anything not going on. The tenant called us and said that they had the unit set at 70 and it would not get below 75. We placed another call to try to get Total Air Care to come back out and see what was going on. It has been a nightmare and we're now in the middle of May.

American Home Shield was not the problem though. It was the person that they contracted with. Total Air Care was incompetent and it's very hard for them to get decent people to come out. They have a hard time keeping them. I understand that’s how it is with the economy and a lot of people have that same problem in their industry. But you can't have just one person who knows what they're doing that covers two states. That’s impossible. The only other frustrating part was we had to call the American Home Shield call center just about every day trying to follow up. It would help if we could speak to someone who speaks English. We had a hard time communicating with several people.

We spoke with American Home Shield and finally got to a supervisor. They expedited everything. They told us to go out and get a portable unit to put in the window ‘til the unit could be fixed. They did everything they could do. Once we got the supervisor, he was great. But it had not been an easy experience. We've had American Home Shield for probably about 20 years with various rental properties, so we definitely believe in them. They're a good company but this last experience was not good. My husband is a very patient man, but he lost his patience. He was like, “This has been going on for over two months.” This has been our only horrible experience with AHS.

    Original Review: April 29, 2019

My 19-year old dryer has been giving me problems. Sometimes, it goes on when I go to sleep at night and then when I wake up in the morning, it is still going. It is dangerous. Now, over a weekend, it did not work at all. I kept playing with it until it finally worked but I still do not feel safe using it. I made a claim to American Home Shield and they are still going back and forth about replacing something. The first contractor sent did absolutely nothing. All he did was unscrew something, looked in there, and screwed it back and said that the unit is working. I told him that for him to really see what I was telling them, they need to spend the night here. Over that weekend, it did it again. I went to sleep and I woke up and my dryer was on all night.

I called American Home Shield back and I asked them to not send the previous technician. But, the following Friday, the same technician came again. I ran him away and told him that I asked AHS to send a different technician. The company told AHS that they are not gonna come out. AHS did not send anybody. Then, they got Sears involved. Sears came out last week and they said that they’re gonna replace the dryer because inside, the dryer is peeling. Although, I do not think that was the whole issue. Something in the wires was not right for the unit to not work when it doesn’t wanna work and for it to keep going when it wants to go. I’m really nervous about using this and I don’t know what to do. It was frustrating to me that American Home Shield won’t replace it already. I have been dealing with this for four weeks.

I’m really concerned about this because they are thinking about putting a new drum in there which I don’t think is the problem. It’s just that the drum is peeling. Someone is supposed to come tomorrow to put a drum in it. They have to look and see and I explained to them that it did not work. They are not here when things are happening and they will just keep deeming it as working. But this morning, I spoke to a representative from American Home Shield and I told him that I’m willing to go half and half with the unit. There is a dryer connected to my washing machine. American Home Shield can replace the dryer part and I will replace the washing machine because I’m not gonna have a 19-year old washing machine have them unscrew the dryer off and put a new dryer on top of an old washing machine. It does not make sense.

I just feel like somebody needs to replace the unit. They can put a brand new drum if they like, but I’m going to be afraid to use it. We’ll have to fix this problem by replacing the problem. Also, it did not make any sense to keep having the technicians come out and it didn’t work. It’s now up to the point where it is not working when it doesn’t wanna work and that is not good.

I was so happy with how AHS treated me last winter that I signed up again. I’ve been buying and selling houses for years and AHS is worth it. When the AC’s fan wouldn't turn off, I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield. It was on a Saturday. It took two or three days for the contractor to come but they might have gotten here sooner if I said that I had a problem. I knew I was having trouble with the air conditioner but I requested for seasonal maintenance and it ended up being two different calls. The air conditioner has been fixed. It’s a little bit loud but it’s quieting down. The contractors did a good job.

The gals who call to make the appointments are nice. Most companies say that they would be there between 8:00 and 12:00, and they show up at 11:59. But the people that AHS sends out are always within the 30 minutes at the earliest time they give you. Also, everybody who comes out are very professional. However, I live by myself and it’s very concerning that I have all those different people coming to my house. Last year when my furnace went out, I had four different fellows come in four different days and it was very troublesome. Nevertheless, they were all wonderful.

When my water heater failed, all the floors had to come off and that included my laundry room. My washer, dryer, and all my furniture were taken into storage. When they were brought back and the washing machine was hooked up, I couldn't get hot water. That was when I called in and made a claim with American Home Shield. I've had other claims and have not been pleased, but the rep that I spoke to for this claim was outstanding.

All In One was assigned to me and I was told that I'd be contacted within 24 to 48 hours. I got a call within three hours and we talked about what my situation was. The tech told me that washing machines of my brand and type, usually, a problem was with a valve. He went to the parts store then called me back and said they had the part. He came over that day and ended up not needing the part. He took the washing machine all apart, found the problem, fixed it and told me to give him a call if I had any additional problems. He was very good and his service was excellent. He was timely, courteous and knowledgeable.

I would strongly recommend All In One. I had a really good experience and was very pleased with the contractor. I have mixed feelings about AHS though. I've used them three times -- twice I've had really good experiences, and once I had a horrible experience. I did not get good service and was very unhappy. I would've recommended that my friend not use AHS. This experience was a really positive one though and brought trust back.

I called the 800 number and they set the service up for me and took the payment from my account. The contractor that came over was a very polite person. He took his shoes off when he came into my house. He was also very good and prompt. He checked the AC out and told me that there was no problem and to call if I had any more problems. AG Appliance Repair was quite excellent in handling my services. One of my drains backed up so the technician had to snake it and that didn’t take him long. He told me what the problem was then he went up there and took care of it right away. It went very well and I was very satisfied with the service he gave me. Also, it was over the phone that I submitted that claim to American Home Shield and that experience is getting better. At one time, I was thinking about leaving them because I was getting a runaround and I’ve been with them for quite a while now, at least four years. A friend of mine first recommended them and when I called them, I liked what they were saying so I went with them.

American Home Shield deducts directly from my account. Then if they tell me I owe, I would send them their money. But there was this bill of $70 that I had paid a couple of months back and yet they kept sending me emails saying I owed. The bill had already been paid because I sent the check in and they cashed it. I didn't owe and I was trying to explain that to them but they didn't seem to understand. Then finally, it stopped and I’m so happy that it did. I dealt with that for about three months. But as long as their people understand what I'm trying to tell them, I don't have a problem with American Home Shield. If I owe a bill and I paid the bill, please take it off of my account.

I had a plumbing issue where Kimco came out. I took a shower one day and blistering hot water coming out. It was no big deal. My wife and I like it really hot. But it was odd. It normally is not that hot. Then the next day, there was no hot water. So I went to go check the water to see if maybe it was leaking. There was water in the drip pan and a little bit of rust on the bottom of the water heater. Then I opened up the little thing where you adjust the temperature at. I happened to push the reset button and it clicked back on. I assumed that it was something that I better have checked out. It may be due to corrosion in the water heater because where we live at in Burke, they use well water. It’s like water from Wichita, which is a bigger city, and it just corrodes a lot of the stuff around there.

Filing the claim with American Home Shield was really simple. I was rather surprised. I just went online and filled out what it asked for. I did that on Saturday and the technician came out Monday morning. In fact, it was the owner of Kimco that came out and did the service. Apparently, the guys who came out the day before weren’t working out for him so he came out himself, and he did an excellent job. It was easy pulling a replacement.

But I don't consider them late by any means or anything like that. We had to juggle around some schedules. The contractor was topnotch. He was thorough, polite and kind.

He explained to me what it was, and it can be fixed but it would not be worth all the work. The previous owners took some wiring out of the wall where the sockets were plugged into. They cut them. And so, for us to find out where that is, we’d have to kinda tear apart the wall. I don't believe that would be covered and it would not be worth it. On my sheet it says what’s covered and it says “Foundation and cracks.” But when I tried to go online to submit that, I couldn't find a spot for it. I couldn't click it. And then, when I called the representative she also could not find it. I had to pull up my contract and read it verbatim. That was more difficult than it needed to be because that is in my contract. I realized that that’s not something people do a lot.

The tech was professional and on time. As a matter of fact, I was a little late myself and he called and said that he would wait for me. He was here and took care of business. In the first service call, he cleared the unit and neither of us noticed that a worn gasket was among the debris that he pulled out of there that was blocking it. So, the unit started leaking later. In the second service call, the tech came out and found out that there was a crack in the system and he replaced the unit. Initially, I called Total Air Care to clean my air conditioner for the maintenance because AHS used them and I was pleased with the service that I got. The air conditioner needed a part and the man fixed it. He was very nice and told me exactly what was wrong with it. He showed me that another company put a used part on it but charged for a new one. That was why the unit went out. He said he hated to charge me again but it was needed. He showed me the box where the new part came out of and I was very impressed.

When it was time to have my air conditioner cleaned again and see if anything needed fixing, I called them again. I watched the guy that was here because one time, I got stuck when they didn't clean the drip line. They got out here and it clogged up. I had water running in my house at the time and that cost me $300 to repair. The guy from Total Air said that they only have a 30-day guarantee. I told him that they cleaned it at the end of the summer but he said that I should have checked it. But I told him that turning on the air conditioner on November didn't make a lot of sense. Still, he said there was nothing they could do.

AHS needs to get rid of Total Air Care immediately. They don't even have an office or people here in Augusta, just trucks and bodies. Also, they'd tell you they'd be coming, then they'd say they came but they didn't. And people were sitting here waiting for them looking out the window but they never came. And this happened three times. The gate was locked but they could knock on the door. So Total Air Care is just the pits and I had a horrible time with them.

Other than that, I submitted another claim with AHS because my toilet was leaking. A contractor put in a faucet and the home water valve blew because he didn't put the correct valves back on. I was told that AHS changed their policy where you pay $100 upfront now and I don't like that because if somebody comes out and does a crappy job, then I'm out $100. I was also told on the phone that AHS would be using Hardy Plumbing here in Augusta for my claim. When I called the tech, Eric, he said he needed to get AHS to give him a call and tell him it was emergency and he would come out. AHS did and he came out at 10 o'clock at night on a Saturday. He put the right valves on, then he turned the water back on for me just as nice as it could be.

He not only found that problem, but he found another problem and he fixed that as well. I watched him and he showed me the other piece in there that was broken. He said that was why my toilet kept on running and he put a new one in. So, I was very pleased and I was glad that I didn't have to call him back. Eric was very professional and he had the best attitude. The toilet has been performing excellently since the repair, too.

My house is about five years old and there was no P-trap put in when the house was built for the water from the air conditioner to pump the water out of the house. The condensation caused leaking in the house. So, we had to have somebody come out and repair that. My husband called American Home Shield. The contractor that came was professional and timely. They showed up when they said they'd be here. He knew what he was doing. But they didn't cover the installation of the P-trap. They, nonetheless, diagnosed what was wrong with it. And then we had to hire them, separate, to come back and put in the P-trap into the closet which is in the middle of the house. When it leaked, it leaked down 'cause it sits upon a pedestal in the closet, and it leaked underneath into the cement floor. When I was changing the filter and found it leaking. I didn't know with the filter, but it was completely soaked -- no wonder my allergies were killing me.

The repair done seems to be going the job. I've had American Home Shield forever. And when we bought this house, the previous owner had given us another year free in our homeowners, which we were gonna transfer from our other house anyway. But, we got a free thing, and then when that free subscription went out, we just renewed it and put it back into our name. We've never really had a problem except for when we called a couple of times. The person we were talking couldn't be understood very well 'cause they were broken English. And they couldn't understand us. We had a little bit of a language barrier there. But other than that, I've not had any complaints about American Home Shield.

I have been with American Home Shield coming up on 4 years now. I have paid my monthly fees on time and have paid in excess of $2,000 if you include the premiums alone. My first use of their service was on pipe leaks in the house. I paid my $100 deductible and Total Plumbing sent a contractor in a few days to assist me. Within 5 minutes and without even looking at the problem, he advised me the basket strainers are not covered under my contract (I have read the contract and knew he was lying) but if I paid him directly he would fix them. I called him out and contacted AHS who confirmed they did cover the repairs and he advised he needed to come back to fix as he didn't have the parts to fix them. He later returned to fix the leaks after a few more days. Needless to say I will not be using that contractor again hoping the next time I needed my home warranty they would send someone honest.

HEATING AND AIR BEWARE!!! The first time I contacted AHS about my heat and air system issues I paid my 100$ deductible and the contractor came out within a few days. He advised my unit (16 years old at the time) was low on Freon. He filled it back up and I was charged an additional $400 as AHS didn't cover the Freon (another loop hole in the contract). Almost 1 year later on 04/10/2019, my AC unit was back on the fritz and was not working. I filed the claim on 4/11/19 and was told BJ's heating and cooling would be handling the claim. I called them and they wouldn't give me the time of day over the phone and advised they would get to me when they could. I asked AHS for a new contractor and they assigned ALL HOURS MECHANICAL out of Petersburg VA. The earliest this company could come out was on 4/15/2019.

Ethan, the owner of the company, came to my house on the 15th and told me my system was 17 years old and needed to be replaced. He advised it should cost anywhere between 1500-2000 OUT OF POCKET on top of my warranty for "non covered modifications". I found this odd as this was the entire reason I bought the warranty for when my heating and air unit went out. Ethan advised he would get back with me that evening or early on the 16th with the full quote. HE DID NEITHER and it took multiple calls to AHS just to get him to give them the quote so I would have an idea of what I would be paying.

I called ALL HOURS MECHANICAL every day that week to get an update as I didn't know how much it was going to be or when if ever I would have my unit replaced. I received a phone call back from AHS on 04/19/2019 advising they would be replacing my unit but I would have to pay the contractor an additional $1,690.00 in non covered modifications. The modifications they were referring to were: 2 TON SAFETY SWITCH 375 AIR HANDLER UNIT, ELECTRICAL MODIFICATION 250, DUCTWORK 800, ELECTRICAL 150 OUTSIDE MOD, DRAIN PAN 115.

Mind you my house requires a 2.5 ton unit and this was not even for the correct size unit. I called Ethan as I felt these numbers were very high after speaking to another contractor. He advised me If I didn't like them to go with someone else. I then asked him if he could get the correct size unit 2.5 ton quote to which he told me that would just be a headache to go through AHS on. I asked him to please just get me the quote ASAP so we could get on with the work as my family with young children has been dealing with 80+degree days with no AC for over a week now. He told me he would let me know that afternoon on 04/18/2019.

By 4/20/2019 I still hadn't received a call and I contacted AHS asking if they had the updated quote. They advised Ethan has not contacted them or notified them of the requested larger unit size. I told them at that point I was tired of the runaround and wanted to hire my own contractor. They advised I could get "cash in lieu" but would need to get it approved for what they were going to pay ALL HOURS MECHANICAL.

Days later it was approved in the amount of $1,855.00 but they would not pay me until AFTER I paid my own contractor up front. On 4/27/2019 I had my unit replaced by a reputable contractor Trevor **. I was then told the 800 dollar duct work modification was false as my ductwork was in perfect condition, The 375 dollar safety switch mod was less than 30$ and clearly I needed to reevaluate my relationship with AHS and the shadey contractors they do business with. I will update this review if AHS follows through with reimbursing me with the 1,855.00 which Ironically is what I have already paid them in premiums in my contract. LOOK BEFORE YOU BUY!

I used to say that I would recommend American Home Shield highly. However, we're still in a standstill. I've had two claims, the first one being for a new dryer and it has been going on for almost a year now. I contacted the sales department several times but then I have to wait 25 to 30 minutes to get somebody to talk to me. I just can't do that during a work time. But then, I did it in my vacation time and I was able to contact after I waited for half an hour. Somebody came on and at least she gave me a figure of the amount they were gonna give me. It was $788 and so I then said that I have a Bosch dryer. I checked to find out what such things cost 'cause I bought mine brand new and the one I had couldn't be fixed. The rep then said that AHS does not actually provide the same brand as the one I have.

However, there is a reason that I bought the Bosch dryer and it's where I have to put it that made the difference. So, the rep said she's sorry and that was the amount. She gave it to me and told me to check it out. So, we went to best buy and of course, the dryer had to be ordered. I told the rep at BestBuy what AHS had given us and asked if this is exactly like the dryer that I have so I can put it in the sport I need it in. The rep showed it to me and told me that the cost of the dryer he was showing is $600 something but then it has to be vented. I said, "I can't".

BestBuy has a GE that's exactly in the same spot I have but then it's an updated model. The rep told me that was the model that would work in GE. Furthermore, it was exactly the same price as the Bosch so I said okay an that I will go back to them. However, I have not been able to contact anybody because I cannot wait that long for somebody to get on the phone. Additionally, AHS is not open on weekends. I have to wait for a vacation time when they're open, and I can wait until I can talk to somebody.

That was six days away and I said I could not, I have a four-year-old boy who was not gonna do well in the heat, and my wife has asthma. The customer service lady named Lynn was amazing. She had me on hold for 45 minutes, and she reached out to everyone she could get ahold of.

They finally got a company that would come the next day and get out there. Initially, I was kind of upset with them, but then Lynn, the customer service lady went over far beyond she needed to. And we got the service request. That next morning, I called them and said we could be at the house at this time and they were there at that time. Initially, they were unsure if they have all the parts. So, they had to call the warehouse. They asked if they could go drive to the warehouse, pick the parts up and come back. They picked the parts up. They came back and fixed the problem.

They told me everything I asked. They explained every detail to me, even if they had to replace the piece and what Home Shield would cover and what they wouldn't, the problems with the older systems versus the new when it comes to fixing parts and all that. We talked about the R22 gas versus the A10 gas that is now used. So, it was very thorough. I have nothing but positive to say because the HVAC people. Everybody, from Home Shield to Romano's HVAC, were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would strongly recommend them to anybody. That was a great experience compared to how it started when we first bought the house. We've been with American Home Shield for a week now, but we were second day into owning a home and normally, you have to wait about 30 days as the gestation period. But AHS waived it and that's not very common when people are talking about contracts.

One time, AHS had somebody out to repair our dishwasher and it still doesn't quite clean the dishes. The dishwasher needed a motor to be replaced which they did but ever since they repaired it, my wife has complained that the dishwasher hasn't been cleaning the dishes.

She showed me some utensils that she just got out of the dishwasher and they still had a lot of scuff and stains on them. We aren't completely satisfied with the result of the repair. Still, something went in my air conditioner recently and shorted it out. Those folks that worked on the AC unit did a great job. I continue to have AHS's contract because things break and I have to have them repaired. AHS has always had competent repair people.

Making claims online at American Home Shield is convenient. Recently the AC wasn’t working, but it ended up being a thermostat programming issue. The contractor was pretty good due to their level of professionalism, courtesy, kindness and knowledge. However, they sent one guy out to look at the system prior, and that guy didn’t know what was going on. He literally was on the phone talking to somebody about what his readings were doing. He was clueless. I was trying to get a tune-up on the system and I thought something just needed to be cleaned up, and he couldn’t do that. So, he left and I had to do a work order, and that’s when the last guy came. He figured it out quickly and then he went to the thermostat, and within five minutes, he fixed it.

My children highly recommended getting a home warranty and I finally relented. I have AHS for about one year now and recently, I submitted a claim with them on the phone because I had a blocked drain pan. It leaked and there was so much water. I received very timely service and my experience was great overall. I got a text message saying that South Belt AC was assigned to me and that they would give me a call within 24 hours, and they did. Then, the tech told me what time to be possibly expecting him first thing in the morning. And he was definitely here between the hours that he had stated. He unblocked the primary and secondary drains and worked on the Nest thermostat which had a wire that was shorting. Everything has been working perfectly since then.

He checked out the system and everything was working okay, but he mentioned that the filters needed to be changed so I went out and I purchased filters. The filters have performed a lot better since I changed them. There was something else that I wanted done that I was charged for, but the contractor never showed up. I called AHS and it was like they didn’t know what I was talking about. I recently had an issue with the stove-top range. The burners stopped working in the oven. I only had one burner that was working and the oven was burning everything even on one, so I couldn't use it. I couldn't bake or make anything with it. I submitted a claim with American Home Shield and I spoke to a person. It was an easy process and they were able to help me. The contractor that came out explained what he thought was going on and he also explained that he may not be able to fix it because of the parts. Either they didn't have the part or the part would’ve been much more than a new appliance. He said AHS would give back refunds and tell us how to proceed. AHS would let us know if they were gonna order a part or if we had to get a new range.

They decided that they would give me a new range, but the problem with that was although they had many selections, they didn’t have the size and everything that I needed to fit the spot I had. I needed a 20-inch, but they mostly had 30s and up, so I was able to at least go to Home Depot and order a 20-inch. I have the new stove in place now and AHS is supposed to be reimbursing me for that and they said it would take around 14 days. So far, I've been very pleased with AHS.

When I realized that I didn't have any hot water, I signed onto American Home Shield and put in that I needed someone to look at my water heater. AHS sent out a person that does AC and hot water heaters. However, the tech from there said he didn't work on my kind of water heater. He said that I needed a plumber. So, he transferred the ticket and Dave & Sons Plumbing came out that same day.

Previously, my maintenance person was there, and I told him I was having issues with my water heater. He went onto the patio and to the breaker box and told me the breaker tripped. I told him that I was still gonna get the plumber to look at the water heater since the plumber was already scheduled to come out. The maintenance person asked me to have the plumber check my elements to make sure that they are not going bad. When the plumber came out, he asked if the problem was my elements and whether or not they would be intermittent instead of just going straight cold.

He put the ticket in and told me that it would be open for 60 days after that. That Thursday, I didn’t have any hot water again. My friend, who is an electrician, came over and he met the plumber on Friday. Between the two of them, they got my hot water working. Since then, the heater has been excellent and I've had no problems with it. Overall, I had a pleasant experience with AHS. The plumber they sent answered all of my questions. I asked him how big my tank was and how much it would cost if I had to replace it. I also asked him how long tanks usually last. The entire time, he was a nice person and didn't seem annoyed.

Instead of replacing it in the first place they kept putting a bandaide on it and as a result I would have to come out of pocket with hundreds of dollars each time for "freon" or something else. They finally replaced it last year 6/18 which I had to spend $800 (not covered expenses). There are ALWAYS NOT COVERED EXPENSES!!!! Now it's 4/19 and once again the air is not working.

Now I understand that it is not necessarily AHS but the company who may have messed up this time but it is AHS' contractor and therefore AHS's responsibility to get the situation fixed. However, this is not happening. I've have called 4 times and can never get a supervisor or resolution. Also, the repair company that replaced the air conditioner phone doesn't work when I or AHS attempts to reach them. UNACCEPTABLE. To correct this, I contacted AHS to reopen the service, AHS said they couldn't because contractor informed I didn't show up and now AHS needs to investigate... I think this is unacceptable because AHS was part and is informed with their own notes of who didn't show up, and should have the request open and send another contractor to fix my water pipe (ruptured). I really do not think this is a way to treat a customer and it shows how insurance companies, these days, only have call centers where the recordings and proof only lays on their side. I bought the house new 11 years ago and I never had the air conditioner serviced before. When I turned to American Home Shield to have it tuned up, I thought it was a good idea because it was 11 years old. I submitted the claim over the phone and a tech from A-US Air Conditioning of Texas came out. He said that the motor's bearings were bad and needed to be replaced. He also said that it was leaking oil.

AHS said that the technicians got until Monday to turn in the report and they were supposed to get back to me within 24 hours but they never called me back. I had to call Home Shield back and set up for somebody to come out here and do the repair. A guy from A-TX Express was sent out here to do the repairs and he was professional like the first tech who came out. He was scheduled to come between 1:00 and 5:00 and he arrived at about 3:30. He checked everything then said that there was nothing wrong with the air conditioner. The freon was also good and I didn't have to take care of that. In fact, all he got was that the unit was blowing cold, which it was. He replaced a 45 microfarad capacitor to the compressor as well as a 7.5 microfarad capacitor for the blower. He said they were a little old but they were fine still.

He also said that this was the third time that he came behind those other guys and this is the third time whatever they said was wrong with it wasn't necessarily the case. So that was not on AHS and from what he told me, I would never call A-US Air Conditioning back because they would charge me for things that's not wrong with the system. I don't want Home Shield to pay for things that don't need to be done either. That's not fair to them and the customers.

Other than that, I talked to some people about American Home Shield and they said that they had a couple of problems at home. They said AHS charged them $100 twice to fix two different appliances in one visit. But I have also heard a lot of good stuff about American Home Shield. I used to be with some other company and I dropped them a long time ago because they sent these contractors here that couldn't fix things. I had a washing machine and the springs were rusted on the top. They couldn't fix it and they still charged me $75. But with American Home Shield, if they can't fix it, they're gonna replace it.

And when he got here, he checked out my equipment, and noted that the setpoint and the actuals weren't right on the thermostat. So, he installed a new one for me. I've filed a total of four claims to American Home Shield since I moved in in December. They are fine, but the only problem I had was whenever their contractor came out to work on my washer. It took them about a week and a half to get it done because they had to order parts. It didn't seem like they were real well-equipped to do the job whenever they came the first time. But, I bore with them. They told me what the timeline would be to get the part in and get it installed. And I was okay with that.

I've also noticed that the way that they bill you for it is you pay $75 upfront, and that takes care of the fees that the provider would charge. When I set it up, I set it up to where I gave them my credit card number. They send you a bill or they call you. But, how I pay is a little confusing to me. I would prefer that they have a card on file for me. All the charges would go to that card. But that didn't happen at least twice. The first couple of times I did business with them, I had to send them a check, so I did. They should make it clear how the customer pays. Is it off the card they have on record, or through an invoice sent to me.

The AC's evaporation core was broken, so River City Heating and Air had to replace it. When I submitted the claim to American Home Shield, it was easy doing it online. Then the contractor contacted me. Those guys were very professional when they come out. They did a great quality of work. The only thing that I would like is just the turnaround time would be quicker -- I submitted the claim on the 24th of April and River City Heating came out on that Friday, the 26th. They called me the next day, so it took about two days for them to come out. And then, once they came out, they go back and submit information to American Shield of what was wrong. And then, someone from American Shield called me just to confirm that they received the information from River City.

The best thing is that they need to tell you the process. They did not tell me that I needed to call River City to let them know that I have spoken to American Shield. So, I just sat around until about Wednesday, and no one had called me back. I called back to American Shield and then a representative told me that, “Oh, yeah. You’re supposed to call the heating and air conditioning company and let them know that you’ve already spoken with us. You agreed that you will pay your part of the refrigerant.” And I said, “Well, why didn’t your rep tell me that on Monday when I spoke with him that I needed to call them?” Still, I will recommend them to a friend.

Being alone with the contractor makes my wife a little nervous but the air conditioner guy that American Home Shield sent was very professional, very nice and thorough with everything he did. The only thing that we didn’t like was that he didn’t wear shoe covers. I think everybody that comes in should do that. But nonetheless, the air conditioning works great now. He changed a capacitor and the air conditioning is perfect now.

We have two air conditioning units though, and I figured since he was here, he could just fix those. When I made the call, I mentioned that but he only repaired one. But he said since there were two units, I had to make two separate claims, which I was unaware of. So that was the only thing that was kind of disappointing. But it's fine right now and I'll call whenever we're ready. They were pretty fast about coming out. I filed this claim over the phone and that was perfect. I had no problems and no issues. I have also given American Home Shield's number and their name to multiple friends, who are currently using them.

I wanted preventative maintenance on my two air conditioners. I called in to American Home Shield and told them that I had two outside units. They said that was okay and that I was gonna be responsible for $75, which I understood was a service call payment fee. I strictly asked the rep if that was for both units and she said yes. She also told me that within 24 hours I'd have somebody call me and everything that she said would happen did happen. The man from Pure Air HVAC called me and scheduled the repair in four days. It happened within a short period of time and I was happy about that. When he came out, he checked both units and my experience him was great. But then, he called me to say that I still owed $75. They were telling him that the work he did should be for two charges and he wanted to get paid for both. But I told him that American Home Shield told me the fee I paid was for both units and I expected him to check two units.

So I wanna know what's going on and who'd be paying the other $75. I wanna make sure that that man gets paid because somebody made a mistake. But it’s not his fault or my fault and that's what I’ve been waiting to hear a phone call from American Home Shield on. Somebody told me that they would call me back and follow through but nobody has.

There was a drip in the faucet in the tub. I called Home Shield and they took my $100 out of my bank account. Then they said that the tech from Red Dragon Plumbing was gonna contact me and he did. At the time that he was coming out, it was late in the afternoon and I told him to do it another day because the traffic was so bad and I had to leave. He was fine with that and he came out the next day. He was very professional and he took care of the job. He was cool and I like him. I will also use him again. Since the repair, I've turned on the faucet a couple of times to clean it and it's been working fine

I filed another claim with AHS where they took my $100 and I got the worst service in America. This time, the electrician from McClerklin's came out and said he was gonna be at a certain time, but he was there 45 minutes later. And when he did, he stayed on the phone with some woman which was unprofessional. Then when he saw the other man that was living in the house I was living in, I could see that his nose got turned up, which was sad. But I was willing to make sure he made some money that day.

He said that the problem could be the panel box. But it was in the sunroom which is heated and it's temperature is controlled. The county looks at it as part of the house but he said that he couldn't do anything because it was not a part of the house. I also needed a fuse and a breaker for the panel box but he didn't even do that. He just left and said he couldn't do the job. A rep called out after that and I told him what happened but they never did anything about it. So I am teed to be teed about it. But despite that, I'd still recommend AHS to others. I have no problem with them because it's hard to tell if the contractor they send out will represent well.

American Home Shield decided to cancel my contract and keep charging. When I called, they said that I didn’t have coverage and that they saw how I had elapsed so, they couldn’t cover anything that was broken in the meantime. I had to fight for weeks and it was very frustrating. I didn’t think it was wise for me to just cancel so, I had to stick with them but now, I've sold the house. It was a horrible situation. I started the claim with a phone call and the rep was so nasty and rude that I asked to speak to his manager. He said he had several phone calls documented and that there was nobody above him. It was shocking and I started to do research on that home warranty. I found out that this was not unusual. I told them that if I were elderly and couldn’t stand up for myself, I would be out all this money and they would be laughing all the way.

The contractors gave me feedback that AHS was very hard to deal with. I can understand that it’s their business model and that they can only look at what is specific and what’s covered in the contract and do no more. In the past, I had leaks in several of the systems in my pool and if I don’t list each and every system from the pool pump, the pool filter, the pool booster pump and the general drains, they would only pick one leak and fix that one. I would have to pay another copay. I would also have somebody come out and fix the next one. So, they don’t fix the problem before it becomes worse.

AHS is better than they were. The situation with my refrigerator worked in their favor and it went against me because I've had it for 22 years since we owned the house. So, 10 years ago was when they canceled the contract and started a whole new number in which most of the systems weren’t covered, without telling me. I had no recourse. They told me that I could always cancel but it wasn’t what it was about. I assumed that my appliances and my systems were covered and I was not gonna cancel and start over with them. I don’t know how many different supervisors and managers I had to talk to but it ended up with a call from somebody that had the clout and made it right.

I understand now that I can’t count on AHS. Still, I was able to find a couple of good contractors through them, so it hasn’t been a total bad experience. If it hadn’t been for American Home Shield, I wouldn’t have known about the pool people who are doing my general maintenance. They are a decent company. When my husband passed away, rather than being wide open for all kinds of contractors to come in and as they can overbid and take advantage of me, not knowing what was going on, I felt that the oversight by AHS was working for me and helped me to save some money. The way that home warranties work is an advantage, especially for older people but they have to really read the fine print and not have their expectations too high.

I was having issues with my air conditioner that went out. I called the issue in to AHS and the tech from Alejo Electric came by. Initially, I thought that there was an issue with the electrical breaker that was connected to the air conditioner. But then the tech he verified that there was on issue with the breaker, and that we were controlling it with the wrong switch. He checked everything over and made sure that it wasn’t what we thought it was.

The first time this happened, I ended up paying 170 something dollars for the air conditioning company then to come out and check everything. That time, I was kinda surprised that I had to pay it when I’m paying American Home Shield for this. Back then, I never talked to them about it and I let it go. This time around, they wanted to charge me again for the service fee of the company. This time it was $75 and I had to pay that to get the claim going. That seemed high to me. Also, the gentleman I spoke to from AHS had broken English and he was hard to understand. He couldn’t really explain to me why I was paying to have the technician come out.

Nevertheless, Coaches, their air conditioning company has been great. They’ve reached out and on a couple of different occasions they called to see how things were doing. They wanted to see if I had talked to AHS and to see what was gonna happen. They have been very nice and easy to talk to. They explained everything to me and tried to help me along the way. Overall, everything has been fine with AHS thus far.

AHS sent Ion Electric and they replaced the breaker fuse on the inside of the breaker box to my heating and air unit. The service with them was really good. They got it repaired quickly. The tech was very professional, nice and courteous. He had the part with him and did his job. and he left. But when it comes to heating and air situations, when it’s warmer, I don't think that they are timely in getting things like that repaired. And I feel like those are situations that possibly should be taken care of a lot quicker.

I had another repair earlier where they had Mills Electric came out and it was a repair that wasn’t gonna be covered because they were picking the wire in to the outside of the breaker box, coming into the breaker box. I guess the wiring from the outside coming into the breaker box is not covered. Mills Electric was trying to charge me an outrageous amount to do a repair that I had somebody else come out to do for almost half the price paying them. I didn't feel good about that at all because I paid $500, and I’m thinking “What would I need American Home Shield for if I still have to pay that amount of money to have a repair?”

Mills Electric, when they came out for the same repair, were gonna charge me $900 and I thought that was odd. American Home Shield didn't cover any of it. If I can get a technician out for cheaper than what I’m paying, like if I’m paying $100 per service call for someone to come out, and I pay the $62 a month, and then, I have to pay them a repair too, to me, I don’t know if it’s worth it. But the technician from Mills Electric was really good.

We called AHS and they said that they are gonna send an email to Precision Door. Apparently, I don't know if they sent an email. I’ve used American Home Shield for plumbing in the past and for the most part, they were positive experiences. Recently, I had a blockage somewhere in my main sewer line that was affecting the main sewer outlet. I used Pace Plumbing before with American Home Shield and outside of them for some repairs, so I wanted them on the case again. They're really good people.

I asked AHS if Pace was still on their roll and they said yes so I asked them to use that contractor if they could. My interaction with their reps at the time was good though sometimes, it's difficult for me to understand their representative, unless I go through the computer. But with the computer, I didn’t have that option of picking a service or a company that's in their list. And when I call and get routed to a call center, sometimes there’s a disconnect in the language barrier, so being on the phone sometimes is a little difficult. But the representatives themselves handled everything greatly and got the job done.

After calling AHS, I got a message from the contractor within 24 hours and they set something up for the next day. They came out pretty quickly. Also, the owner was the one that made a lot of the calls and he was very knowledgeable. Then he came out when he said he was gonna be there and his office called ahead of time saying he was en route. It gave me time to get home from work. When he got there, he did everything and performed the job excellently. He was honest as well and didn’t try to sell me a service that I didn’t need. He did what needed to be done and was upfront with me. Aside from that, he explained to me what caused the blockage. I live in an older home, so it was something that I deal with but I couldn’t handle it with the equipment I had.

The dishwasher still was not working. I called AHS and they sent the same contractor out. Again, he didn't have the part and he left. He came back 10 days later with a part (now if you're keeping track, this is FOUR days I had to take time off of work to accommodate their contractor). He installed the part and AGAIN the dishwasher was not working properly (not heating up or getting soap rinsed off dishes).

So I called AHS (AGAIN) and they tried to send the SAME contractor back. After arguing with them for 20 minutes, they agreed to send a different contractor who never showed up as I took DAY FIVE off from work. I called again and asked them how many times a contractor had to fail to fix an appliance before they bought a new one and despite their contractor having been here and looking at the machine FOUR times they claimed to have no information on what the problem with it was! All told, in terms of money paid to them and time lost from work waiting for their incompetent contractors, it would have been FAR, FAR cheaper for me to never have had a home warranty and just bought a new dishwasher when this one broke down. He explained to me how to use the appliance ‘cause I had no idea what I was doing. But I can’t understand why American Home Shield taxed me to have the services and then if I file a claim, they would charge me tax to have the service as well. That’s overkill.

Previously, AHS had our fridge fixed and they did a good job on that. More recently, our washing machine was leaking and so my wife set up a claim online with American Home Shield. We got someone scheduled to come in four or five days but then when the techs came out, they couldn't find where the machine was leaking from. The same guy came back and upon looking at it, said that there was nothing he could do. Thereafter, AHS hired Pinnacle to come out and look at it.

First, they said that we could see the water stain on the tiles and then a little bit on the tram board which is kinda moldy. The tech said that the leak is coming from my wall. If the leak was coming from my wall, it would be coming out constantly. So I said "No". They then said that we were overfilling the washing machine. So, we started doing medium-sized loads to make sure we're not doing that. That seemed to help. We called American Home Shield and they said they have to wait for the report. It has been a week and a half and we haven't even heard anything.

The contractor came out in the morning from 8 to 10 AM. He called me before arriving and informed me that he was on the way, arriving in about 10 minutes. When he arrived, he rung the bell and identified himself as the contractor to repair the power. I showed him what was the failure. He noticed what was the problem, and then he started the investigation and then repaired it. It has been working perfectly since. I am highly satisfied with American Home Shield. In case of any problem, I don't need to go to the yellow pages or go to the internet to look for a contractor. They find someone available and they contract it directly.

For instance, when the city upgrades what it requires when replacing things, like the AC. We had to pay out quite a bit to upgrade according to what the city requires because AHS did not cover that. On the other hand, working with their reps most of their techs have been good. We’ve had one company that we had a problem with. There was a plumbing issue and the technician said that we had put on a part that caught and then we put it on too tight, which caused the bowl to crack and then the bowl was not cracked. So, when we disputed that finding, they sent out another repairman who confirmed that we haven’t done anything wrong. Despite all that, I would recommend American Home Shield.

Pennington Plumbing came in recently to fix the faucet leak that we had. A couple of days after, it started leaking again and even worse than it used to. Today I gave them a call and they said they'll try to get someone to call me back and get someone scheduled for this leak. In a situation like that, if I have a business, I would try to fix it as soon as possible. So, I don't know if I'm gonna hear from them today. We had a bad experience with them one previous time, and I called American Home Shield and asked to re-assign it to someone else. It was re-assigned, and then those people did a perfect job. But now, I'm getting in a problem with this particular company again. I thought my default would be to switch to someone else, but it didn't happen.

I always make claims online and it's very simple, and I always get great experience with American Home Shield. This time, I checked the pipe leak and when they called, I explained to them that it's not technically a pipe leak but a faucet leak. Pennington contacted me the next day, and that's what the expectation was. But then, they scheduled next week. I usually hope it would become sooner, but then it was okay, but then they came last Monday.

The person came on time and he got to spend a lot of time because at the same time, a pool guy was doing some maintenance on the pool. He had to switch the water off, so the person waited and then he worked. The person spent almost two hours, but everything appeared great. It's just the result that's not great. It was a good effort, but the result is not satisfactory for me. I'm waiting for them to call and schedule, but if they don't call today, I don't have any other choice but call American Home Shield and try to assign someone who can come tomorrow or Wednesday because that's what happened the last time.

I had a water heater claim with American Home Shield before. When the fella came in to replace the water heater since ours was leaking, he was working on something that had loosened up behind the wall and had to cut through the drywall. So, the second claim was in regards to the need to get behind the wall by the first plumber. They came in and replaced a little piece of the drywall and finished it off.

American Home Shield's claim process was very easy and their response time was excellent. I got a very quick response back with who was going to do the work. Both the contractors called within the same day and told me when I could expect them. A young fella from Supreme Plumbing came out and did an inspection, and then came back the next day and did the work ‘cause they had to call the claim in to AHS. He was very knowledgeable, and polite, and knew what he was doing. The second time out, he was a little short on tools because there was a unforeseen issue. I’m a car guy, so I had tools that he was able to utilize. Supreme Plumbing was very good as far as cleaning up afterwards too. I'm usually on hold for a long time if I called American Home Shield's number, so I just submit my claims online. I called last year on July 1st, and the air conditioner issue didn't get fixed until July 26. I kept calling American Home Shield and they said the contractor would be out in a day or two. It was a bad experience. I had to buy two little indoor units with little holes that stick to the window, because it took them four weeks to get a contractor out. So, that cost me around 700 dollars but American Home Shield only paid me 150 bucks. The contractor fixed the blower but they cracked a drain line so it leaked in my ceiling. I had to pay for that because I didn't call American Home Shield thinking that the contractor would gonna tear up more. These people cost me a fortune.

Recently, American Home Shield sent out On the Horizon for my air conditioner claim. The first time they came out, the tech said he put sealants in. I had to spend $390 for this. But it only lasted two weeks and it is leaking again. I called American Home Shield about this and the rep said he filled it and it was okay. The contractor was trying to charge me a service fee again so I tried to talk to the supervisor, and then American Home Shield called back and told me that I don't have to pay a service charge. I need the people in San Angelo to do it, because when they did it, they fixed it. They were very good and very quick.

I prefer to talk to them because they just will send some random person to your house to fix appliances. I liked the contractor they sent. The gentleman, Sammy, that came out to my house, I personally asked for him to keep coming back to my house. One, I can understand him. Two is, he's very knowledgeable about my appliances.

I had him come and fix my washer at one time. When washing clothes, it gets off kilter. One side is too heavy for the load of clothes and I had to go in there and rebalance them. He showed me how to rebalance the whole washing machine once taking that load out. He said that I just pull it towards me and it kinda throws everything back where it goes. I didn't know that information. He's very helpful and informative when he comes to fix my appliances and he's the one I always request for. It's just that I'm not really happy with AHS. NOTE: I WOULD RATE ZERO/NEGATIVE STAR IF I COULD, BUT I'M FORCED TO PROVIDE AT LEAST ONE STAR. Unfortunately, as a consumer you are left with no recourse once they have your checking or credit card information. There is a reason the company requires this when you submit a request for service, even if you select to pay after the service is complete. I did just that (selected the option to pay once service was complete) and the service provider was a no show. But that didn't matter... AHS charged for it (a service that needed occurred).

When I received my statement and noticed the charge it took me over an hour on the phone multiple times to get someone from AHS to agree to credit my account (they sent the request to an alternate service provider but I told them I wanted the credit on my account and would pay for the service once is occurred). They agreed they would do that. But they lied.... Instead they never credited me back for the original charge (for the service that didn't occur) and still charged me a second time once the service actually did happen. After spending another hour on the phone trying to resolve the matter with no success, I disputed the charge with my bank. But the outcome of that was that AHS claimed that I was contractually obligated to pay it so my bank was unable to assist me.

I have again contacted AHS and spoke to two separate people today...neither of which would help me and so I cancelled my contract. I'm sure this isn't the end of it as I can only imagine the penalties that they will find a way to charge me for cancelling in the middle of the contract term. Keep in mind..the service provider was a no show... I understand I would be responsible for paying the service fee if they arrived and I was not home, but that was not the case. This is blatant theft.

We are going on our 3rd repair visit for this item. We have been without a microwave for 2 months now. we have a large party coming on the 4th of May and will probably not have this appliance available. The company handling the repair has been an issue on other repairs. I think that it's the repair company that is the issue. But they seem to want to blame the warranty company.

I called AHS for a problem with my dryer; they sent someone out, told me they wouldn't fix it, and charged me $100 for the service. I then hired a local handyman who fixed the issue for $35. AHS charged me three times more to *not* fix the problem than someone else charged me to fix it.
