For my recent claim with AHS, the heat wasn't turning on. When someone came out to my house, it was over a week. It was not a good experience. But it was on the end of May Heating and Air though. It wasn't on the end of American Home Shield. They were able to get me up and going. What they said was that they called me and no one answered. But I was sitting here. I was at the house. They were saying that two different people called me, but I did not receive a phone call. By the time I called in, because no one had made it here during that window, they were saying they would have to reschedule me. They said that since a holiday was coming up, it would be the next week before someone could come out. It was the first time something like this had happened to them.
But I would recommend AHS, because of the ease of being able to book the appointment. It'll tell you they've received your request. It tells you it has been assigned. Then it'll tell you it's in progress. You don't have to get on the phone and you don't have to wonder where you are in the process of it and when they get ready to debit your account for the 125. The communication is what I like the best. I had another company in between and it was horrible. And it had to do with the communication.

My most recent claim with AHS was very good. The techs came out to fix the microwave. But within a week or so, it just died. I called back, so they rescheduled. When the guy was gonna come originally, he slid off the road. It was a horrible weather day, which I understood. So he couldn't come until after Thanksgiving. But a different man came, and both guys were very good.
It turned out that it had not been plugged in tight enough and the plug had come loose. And that was why the microwave had died. But he stuck with it until he figured it out. He had to pull it out and plug it into a different plug. I was impressed with, he came when he said he was gonna be there. He gave me a call when he was on his way. It was timely. He was also courteous, nice and efficient.

I like the app of AHS. I like going online and making my claim. The tech who came out from Extreme Heating and Air was absolutely amazing. His name was Luke. He came on time, right before I went to work. He was very polite, clean, and went on up. He was very kind and he told me that he left it on 70. I said, "Is it okay?" He said, "Yes, ma'am. Everything is looking good." He got his tools and he came back in. He was excellent. The furnace was not working. I heard a rumbling noise. My children came home for Thanksgiving and it was cold up there. It wouldn't heat. He said some part and he wrote it down. But he said it should be working fine after that.
The tech who came out for my water heater was extremely nice too. Also, for my garage door opener, something was going on with it and I had an independent company come out. They were gonna charge me an arm and a leg. I forgot I had AHS. I said, "Let me call American Home Shield." The technician who came out for that was absolutely amazing, too. He looked at it and said, "Ma'am, it just needs this part." I had a great experience.

One of the gentlemen was supposed to come out and fix our radiant heat. But he couldn't fix the radiant heat. He just dropped it. He never did anything. We paid $125 for nothing on that. My second service call was when One Stop Service came out for plumbing. We had to fix our master bathroom toilet. The gentleman spent five hours taking it all apart and said he had never worked on a toilet like that. He left and he never came back.
We hired TLC, a local firm here in Albuquerque. They came out and they said, “This whole thing is just a part.” They gave us some choices. They said, “Let's take the toilet out and put another one in.” We bought a new toilet for 1,000 bucks. Now I can't think of a reason why I even would use American Home Shield. So far, the two servicemen who have come out haven't been able to fix anything.

The contractor was supposed to replace a valve on the water heater but they didn’t. The guy couldn't get it off. They said they can’t do anything about it. But when we had to have our furnace fixed, the guy did a good job with that. American Home Shield’s techs have been okay. It depends on what it is. What I’ve had done has always been well-covered.

My brother referred me to American Home Shield and I’ve been with them for a year and we've been satisfied. The sink in the kitchen was leaking from the bottom and the repair guy took it out, put some silicone on it, and put it back on. The service was good. I called, AHS scheduled the repair and the repair guy came in the next couple of days. Plus, he came on time.

We've been pleased with American Home Shield every time we've used them. Our thermostat went out about a week ago, and it was out for a few days. And then someone came over a few days ago and repaired it. It took two days from the time that we called American Home Shield to the time somebody came out. The gentleman that came out here has been out here before. We had an issue a year ago with the same thermostat. The gentleman is wonderful. So, we really like him.

I've had American Home Shield for years and I've always been satisfied. They were timely and professional. They sent out Steinberg recently. I had a pipe outside that was leaking for a hose and the tech disconnected it. I also had a faucet that was dripping and he took care of that. He looked at something else that I thought I had a problem with, but he said it was something coming in from the outside. He was nice, but he took a big piece of copper pipe and he had it out on my front step and he was taking it. He didn't ask me and I said, "Oh." If I do decide to re-hook it up, I'll need that pipe. He had talked me into coming back in the spring and just doing that hose off my kitchen sink, which I think is better. I said I would do that. So, then I said, "All right, you can take that piece of pipe." It's just he should have asked me first.

There were three items that we put in the claim but the repairman couldn't resolve any one of them. The first thing was the drain was a little jammed. He came and broke that thing. Then he went back and said we needed to install a new drain thing. On the second one, he said we needed two spouts in the bathroom. On the third one which was the garbage disposal, he said it's broken because the metal part of the disposal broke and that metal went to the garbage disposal and broke it further. He said he was going to put the request for the authorization.
American Home Shield said that the metal was put up from outside but the metal was a part of the head of the disposal itself that grinds the food. The claim was denied totally. The other things can wait, but I can't function in the kitchen without the garbage disposal. It's already been eight weeks and I've made 30 calls. Every time I called over, they escalated it. The plumber is saying that he already called American Home Shield six times and explained the issue, that it was a part of the thing itself and was not something that I did. But American Home Shield is not even listening to their contractors. They are also not very flexible.
I have multiple properties with American Home Shield and it's very difficult to schedule with them. It takes weeks. One time, the refrigerator was not even attended but they closed the claim. I had to fight a lot to get the refrigerator fixed. At another house, they kept coming for a refrigerator. We did at least 10 calls and same parts were replaced but it was never fixed. Finally, I went in and bought a new refrigerator. I also had a problem with the AC unit that never got resolved for months.
I'd like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. I apologize for the difficulties you've experiencing and would like to discuss this more. Feel free to email me at consumeraffairs@ahs.com.

I like having American Home Shield ‘cause it's secure. I've had them for several years and the coverage pays for itself. I live in an older home and it helps me a lot. It's a cushion between repairs and having to file a claim with my homeowners insurance. Recently, a technician fixed the leak I had with my toilet. However, the roofing company that came didn't do much. For the fee that I pay every month and for the amount that I had to do for copay, it wasn't enough.
It was the first time that I had somebody that didn't do what they said they were gonna do. I could have crawled on the roof and cleared off leaves. All the gentleman did was tell me about his experience and that he had been doing it for a really long time. But he didn't say anything about what needed to be done to the roof. He just told me there was nothing there. But it was still leaking and we had to do something different. I went to the escalation department and they refunded the $100 back. If I ever had to call about my roof, I don't wanna ever see those people again.

We've been with American Home Shield for 15 years. Once a year, they'll send out a thing to renew. It's $100 a month, but it's worth having. They used to cover more though. Also, the cost from the freon is ridiculous. It was 600 bucks on my recent claim. I know what it costs to buy it if I went to the store myself. Every time there's ever a problem, for whatever reason, that's always the hugest cost out there. American Home Shield needs to control that with anybody that they hire because that can go as high as $100 a pound and they only cover $10 on the plan I'm with. Covering $10 for freon is ridiculous in this day and age.
Recently, Comfort Cooling came out. The repairman, Sam, kept his word and was punctual. He communicated if he was running late. He was very thorough, broke down the charges and explained things on a basic level where I could explain it to the wife. However, my complaint with American Home Shield is they didn't have a breakdown of what the charges were for. It can't just say $600 and not show what it's going to. But the rest of it seems to be okay. It's pretty easy to maneuver and go around.

American Home Shield works. I've been a long time customer of theirs and I've gotten their contractors to show up here and have had my issues resolved. But my issue is the overall process is a little slow. It takes a long time for their contractors to get in the house. When you file a claim, you'll get a robotic response that tells you it's gonna be two or three days to get the provider to contact you. The process, even though it seems to be mostly automated, has a lot of time built in to it.
With appliances where you're dealing with plumbers and electricians who have incredibly busy schedules, I understand that they're not just gonna drop everything and go to your house because American Home Shield is paying them. But the process could be streamlined. For example, American Home Shield confirmed that I had an appointment, but it wasn't the day that I had the appointment. There's a little bit of a disconnect between the service provider's and American Home Shield's information.
On my most recent claim, the water break happened on a Monday before Thanksgiving so I knew there were going to be issues about getting somebody there. On two different occasions, I needed to follow up with the contractor and in both cases, miraculously, the phone was answered immediately, which is not at all common with service providers. They managed expectations about when they could get there. Unfortunately, it was about 10 days, but they told me it was gonna take that. Then they showed up on the day that they said they would, which is in my experience, great.
What tends to happen is that initial appointment gets bumped. It becomes a day or two days later. In this case, they also asked for pictures and when they showed up on that day, they knew exactly what they were going to do. I'd filed a claim on my air conditioner and on my microwave. What happens often is the technician will show up, look at the problem, say a part is needed then go away for another two weeks. In comparison, this was the best experience I've ever had with American Home Shield. It sucked to wait 10 days but at least, like other incidents, it didn't drag out to multiple appointments.

My dishwasher would not drain, and my washer was slamming back and forth. The service tech who came out was great. He was able to fix the washer and American Home Shield is having to replace my dishwasher because they can't get the parts. They sent an email with a link to where I could choose what I wanted. I could have chosen an e-card and taken it to Lowe's, but I decided to pick out of there and didn't care what it would look like as long as it would work. That's supposed to be done within a couple of weeks. My experience with American Home Shield was a breeze, and my daughter is gonna sign up for them too.

During Thanksgiving when we were cooking, the oven went out and stopped working. We couldn't even do the meal. We submitted a claim with AHS and a guy came out. His name was Steven and he was really good. He was very helpful, he listened, he answered questions, and he was very professional. I've had AHS for some years now and I like that they send someone to come and do my stuff. And when you put in your order, they need to contact something. The only thing is that they choose who comes. Sometimes I look online and see better review for a company and I would rather go with that company. But AHS would send someone else and you can't choose the company that they send out.

My furnace wasn't turning on. I went on the AHS website, clicked through some prompts, and entered my information. The process was easy. They contacted me a day later, then a guy came out and looked at the furnace. He evaluated the situation, then he told me what the problem was, that he would submit it to American Home Shield, and they would decide if they would repair or replace it. The next day, I got a text that said they would replace it. Then, they scheduled the replacement and I had to wait four days because it was over the weekend.
Also, I was called by the company, Hansen Mechanical, and they told me that I owed them a significant amount of money because certain aspects of the repair were not going to be covered by my warranty and that I had to pay them immediately the entire amount or they couldn't schedule the repair. So, that was very upsetting. But then the guy came out and he started replacing it. Then for whatever reason, something happened and he left. Two other guys came and they were the ones who finished the install. My house is warm now.
I've been with AHS for over 10 years because I'm a single person. I know that repairs could be pretty costly and I wanted some kind of protection against that. Although this time I found out that they changed the way they do their plans and I ended up having to fork out a significant amount of money for this repair unexpectedly. Also, the service call fees are twice what they were when I first got my coverage. So, that's not great. Aside from that, their customer service is frustrating because it is all out of the country and you're dealing with people who don't have English as a first language. Plus, they can't answer questions with careful thought and they are only allowed to read scripts.
We appreciate your business and value your feedback. If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know.

The tech came over and saw the leak. But he didn't check anything out. He just said that it was going to have to be replaced right off the bat. My water heater and generator are hooked up pretty much together. And they are too close. So, he added some additional stuff that I don't think is necessary and it brought the bill to $1,700. With American Home Shield covering most of it, it shouldn't have came up to $1,700. I wanted to buy out and AHS gave me almost 300 some dollars. They suck too. So, I'm looking for a different home warranty because that was a slap in the face to me and I didn't appreciate 300 some dollars for a water heater. It's ridiculous, what they cover, and I’ve been with American Home Shield for a long time. I'm going through other contractors right now and I'm going to get my water heater repaired myself.

We've had the service with AHS for so many years and it's been good. I like it because I don't have to go and try and find somebody to come in and do repairs. I can just call American Home Shield, and hopefully, it's right. But there were times when there were incidents happened and we paid into it. And when something is broken in our home, we expect them to come out and fix it. Sometimes the claims process with AHS is easy. But I had a big problem in the summer when we first started with the units because the person Is poke with on the phone put the wrong information in. So, that was a drawn-out process and stressful process. I put in the claim in the beginning of May and the techs initially came out in May, but they did not finish that job until August.
I had another problem with them when they repaired my washer. The guy came out and he broke the tray. I called back and AHS wanted me to pay for another fee. I didn't think that was right, so I never got it fixed. But I wish I had because the water drips out on the floor when you pull the tray out. Aside from that, a lot of times now, it's aggravating when you're speaking to someone at AHS and they don't understand what you're saying and you don't understand what they're saying because they weren't taught to speak English and I was not taught to speak their language.
Other than that, we had our heat and air units done in the summer and I really thought that when the techs put new units outside, both the heat and air both would work. So far, the heat and air unit upstairs worked, but when I turned the heat on downstairs, it would not work. The techs came out and I had to pay $100, which I didn't think was right because if one worked, the other one should have been working as well. The techs came out that Wednesday before Thanksgiving and they said that where they get their parts from, the store closed earlier that day. So, they were going to come back and they came back this past Monday. All in all, I would tell my friends that they need to purchase the warranty because when something breaks, sometimes people may not be able to afford to pay the full price to get a water heater or a dishwasher replaced. But usually, they can come up with $100. So, it's a great service to have.

He put the panel back and told me if it ever happened again, that there was a switch in the hallway in my house and if we hit that switch, it should fire back up. My hot water heater was leaking. It was a very old unit, about 20 years old, and Hers & His Plumbing said that, internally, it was busted and that they needed to completely replace the unit. American Home Shield was able to do that in a timely manner. We had asked Hers & His what the out-of-pocket typically is and it would have been 2,500. But our out-of-pocket expenses ended up being only 500. We saved about two grand and American Home Shield didn't give us any pushback. I called them for service recently when the keypad on my garage door wasn't opening. They took my information then said Lake Anna would contact me. That company contacted me and we scheduled the appointment.
It was a great customer experience. The gentleman was very kind and went out of his way. He did all his troubleshooting and explained everything to me. He said the keypad needed to be replaced but he didn't have one on hand. He drove to Lowe's to get one and did the repair the same day so I wouldn't have to be inconvenienced with another visit by them. He also left their sticker for their service right on my garage thing so if I ever need them again, I can call American Home Shield and remember who the vendor is. The only thing was I had to go online to look for the 800 number when I filed the claim.

The contractors I've been getting the last year are better than what they used to be and are easier to work with.

American Home Shield has always been great to respond quickly and their online service is very easy to maneuver. I've had them since 2020, and I have found out that we are eligible for a military discount. I've also told plenty of my friends that they're great and encouraged them to participate. Recently, Kentucky Climate Control came out for my furnace that went out. It was a burned out wire which they got fixed in no time.

When the T-stop was leaking and would not close, I reported it through the 1800 number and that process was easy. A plumber came in and did the repair quickly. He replaced the valve that failed. It was a valve that was necessary for installation of a new dishwasher and I could not get the dishwasher installed until this valve was replaced. He took care of it.
I have had some challenges in the past when I've had calls about issues with my air conditioning system, and it seemed it always happened when I really needed the air conditioning system. We were down without air conditioning for five days waiting for a repair to get done. I also have some things that are not covered under American Home Shield. I've got a salt water pool with a salt water chlorinator, and I was told that that salt water chlorinator is not covered.

Submitting a claim was easy. I went online, filled out the info, then the service tech texted me and showed up the next day. I have had American Home Shield for a really long time and have never had any issues with them. However, we've had an issue with one contractor, and ironically, that was Sears, a major one. The others have been amazing and had good communication. They show up and do the work. They've been really great.
One time, we had some service we had to pay out of pocket for. We submitted it for reimbursement, and it took a little while and some back and forth communication, but it worked out. American Home Shield paid us. Overall, we've had really good experiences with them. Their customer service is great, and I've done well with the online platform.

The heat was intermittent. It would come on, but it would not come on every time. So, ServiceOne Air came out to diagnose that. I went into American Home Shield's website to file the claim, and they had a filled-out forms. The site was very easy to use. They told me who was gonna come out. They had updates on when they were gonna arrive. So, that was quite helpful. The techs were very nice and knowledgeable. So, I appreciated their help. Initially, they went up and did some inspections, and they thought it was the back pressure issue. So, they worked on that. American Home Shield is a good program. They provide a lot of information. I really haven't had any problems with them. Every time I've needed to use them, they've worked fine. They've always solved my problems quickly. They're easy and convenient to use. When my ceiling had a leak, I contacted American Home Shield and with that particular service order, they told me that it was on me because I didn't do the pre-season free checkup for that year. What had happened was the drip pan had spilled over and caused the leak. The only other claim that I can remember having before that was I had problems with my water. So, they sent out someone, but I didn't have any problems with that.
Overall, I'm not gonna say American Home Shield is great. It's okay. I have ran into some problems with some of the items that was covered under the contract as far as them going back and forth with me, and having it escalated. I didn't understand when they say, "Okay, this is covered," but they might come back and say, "Okay, this part is covered, but this particular job is not covered for the part." It's a hit or miss. The only reason I continue the warranty is because I did try to do a little window shopping and, just based on a lot of people feedback from some of the other warranties, it seems like American Home Shield was better than some of the other ones out there.
I have had a refrigerator replaced. When I moved into my home and purchased my home, one of the closing things on the table was for the previous seller to purchase a contract for the appliances because they were old. They didn't want me to inherit any problems with those appliances moving into the home. That was the main reason for American Home Shield. So, I decided to keep it. They did replace my refrigerator because they couldn't get the part. It was an older model refrigerator. And then, it was the same with the dishwasher. When I moved in, it wasn't working, and then American Home Shield did replace that as well.

I didn’t have a good experience which caused me to wanna leave American Home Shield. I stressed to them when I placed the call that we had a stoppage, but the stoppage also turned into a leak in the pipe. We weren't able to use our toilets. This is during Thanksgiving. We have four bathrooms. We couldn’t flush the toilets. We couldn't use the water. The guy told me then this will be considered as an emergency and it will be expedited. I put that call in on Saturday. Nobody got assigned until a day or two later. That was unacceptable.
And then when the plumber got here, they said they do emergency calls. So, they had me thinking that they were working all day and night to try to find somebody, but the people that came out said that they do emergency calls and they weren't notified. So, to me, it felt like there was no urgency. Then you're talking to a bunch of different foreigners and they are giving you information. This person say one thing. This person say another thing.
When I finally got assigned to a plumber, the lady tells me that it was just a normal ticket put in. It wasn't expedited. But the whole time, I was told that it was an emergency ticket and that it was expedited. So, she told me to contact American Home Shield back again, let them know that if they don't switch it over, then they gotta take me off the schedule.
When I called, the lady said, “Oh, well, it doesn't show that it's expedited on this.” And I'm like, “Ma'am, I've been told from the beginning that it was an emergency and it would be expedited. Now, you're telling me something different, and now you're telling me you have to get it approved.” So, I was so irritated at this point because I don't know if they don't have enough vendors anymore. I don't know what's going on. I've been with them for years, and I don't recall having this much issues with American Home Shield since the last two years. Their service has not been great.
I don't know if they just hiring people overseas, barely speaking English. They're not giving you accurate information. It’s not being noted in their account. So, if you talk to one person, they say this. Another person could say, "This wasn't said." It's just horrible. It's horrible. I had them for past two years, but then I dropped them once because of this issue. And then I said, “Let me give them a try again.” Now, I'm having this issue again. I'm shopping for new places because I'm like, “This can't be.” If you pay every month, and then the price went up for the service call, but the level of service is not going up, that's the problem.
I hate to hear your experience has caused some frustration. I would love to assist with unresolved claims and concerns. Please reach out to us at consumeraffairs@ahs.com so we can discuss further.

American Home Shield is a good company but you have to stay on top of stuff. They are only as good as the people they subcontract. The people are fine, but the communication falls short for me. Sears never came out. AHS showed on the website that I had an appointment with Sears on November 29th. Not only did that never occur, but it was never scheduled that way. Sears texted me it would be on December 2, and that it would be between 8:00 and 5:00. That appointment never happened on the Friday and on Tuesday. I canceled it because I couldn't sit here from 8:00 to 5:00. Majestic Appliance came out yesterday to put in a new icemaker and the day before to do the analysis and determination of what needed to be done.
When I spoke to people at Majestic, they were very nice and helpful. The technician who came here to figure it out and the second time yesterday to put it in was a nice guy. But getting in touch with Majestic is harder than getting in touch with the President of the United States. The people were great when I could reach them. However, they do not answer the phone during the day. They would ask me to leave a message. Also, my technician arrived an hour late yesterday on a four-hour window. 1:00 to 5:00, he arrived at 6:00. No one from Majestic called me to inform me he was running late and/or coming or not.
I called Majestic four times. I couldn't get a person. I called AHS. They put me on hold. Majestic picked up for them and said the tech was in traffic. He would be here. Somebody should have called me. A four-hour window is reasonable, but when I call at 4:30 to try to find out what was going on and I couldn't reach anyone, and I have to call AHS and be on hold for 10 minutes there to do that, the whole process as far as communicating is not working as well as it should.

I have the contractor come out in the spring and in the winter to do a tune-up or an inspection of my heating and air conditioning system. Price A/C & Heating came out about four weeks ago to do the furnace and they noticed that there were some issues with my system. So, I called American Home Shield and went over the issues. 75% were covered under my warranty and I paid for the issues that weren't covered and had the contractor come back out. There is good communication with the techs that AHS sends out as to when they're gonna get there and they show up when they say they’re gonna show up. They're courteous and let me know what's going on. So, it's been good. The biggest issue I have with a lot of companies is sometimes, it's impossible to speak to a human being. You have to do everything online. But typically, when I call to speak to someone, I don't get put on hold for an hour.

There's a Facebook page in town of homeowners and somebody said they needed a home warranty service. Everyone said that American Home Shield is the best. So, I started looking for information. I’m happy with the coverage I have with them. I had a leak in my faucet and the repair guys replaced the hose which had gone bad. They walked me through the whole process and said they had a hose in their truck. They got it and fixed the hose and showed me when it was done, that there was no issue. And they fixed the leak. They were friendly and very pleasant to work with. I enjoyed having them do the work.
In this case, submitting the claim through American Home Shield’s website was fine. It asked what the problem was. But sometimes with other claims, the options I’m given don’t capture what the problem is and there’s no option to put it in. It'd be nice to have a chance to expand on something. But AHS is quick. I put in an order and within 15 minutes, I got a call from the contractor.

My blower unit wasn't blowing air. I did the claim online and the website was good. It was easy to use, quick and easy. Within five minutes, I did the claim. The contractor came out and fixed it. They did what they were supposed to do. They were very professional. They were upfront. They told me exactly what they were looking for and what they found. They told me they weren't sure if they had the part readily available and if they did, they would be back that afternoon. If not, the latest would be at the next day. They came back within two hours with the part and completed it. Everything is perfect.
Their service is top-notch. I had a problem. I was dreading to call but I called and actually, they responded to me within 24 hours. I missed the call because we had a late night and I slept in late. The guy said he rang the doorbell and knocked. Nobody was here. But they still came back within two days. What I like most about American Home Shield's service is that in 24 hours, you can put in a claim. You don't have to worry about paying a big out-of-pocket expense if you didn't have it. It's a lot easier to pay a little bit every month for the insurance rather than have a balloon payment when something happens. Also, the reps were very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend them. But I hope they can keep the service fee down because that can be a distraction for a lot of people.

The stove’s pilot light went out and I called it in over the phone. On the second visit, the contractor came out and although the situation was funny, it worked out fine. I told him the stove wasn’t broken, but he kept saying he sold stoves and this and that as if I was just trying to get a new stove. I said I loved old things and antiques, and as long as the stove cooks, I was fine with it. I will repaint it if needed but it didn’t have a handle, which the kids had been complaining about, saying they couldn’t open it. The contractor asked if I had the handle but I didn’t know where it was at the time. I told the kids to just use the mittens.
When my daughter was home by herself and tried to use the oven, smoke started pouring out. She panicked and said it was a lot of smoke. I assumed it was likely grease buildup since the stove had been sitting broken for a while. But I didn’t want to mess with gas or electrical issues so the contractor came and checked it out. The stove was old and the contractor confirmed that the smoke was from the grease and gas. Since then, they've been cooking on the stove. I’ve had the contractor before for a refrigerator issue, and it was bad. I ended up losing food. Somebody else came out and said I needed a new refrigerator, and he gave me another one. I got the cheapest one. It wasn’t a big-name brand. But that first contractor was strict when it comes to deciding if you need a new product.
My aunt told us about American Home Shield and I've even referred some people and loved getting the referral things once they got it. My mom had a broken washer and dryer and American Home Shield replaced it. And I got it. It was a struggle for me. Paying that bill is like paying car insurance but it's important. AHS has helped me so much. I've had been in my house with no heat as well as no air and I've had electrical stuff. When my ceiling was caving in water and I had plumbing issues, AHS was there for me. I hope it doesn't change because some new stuff is coming in my email. Sometimes people change things so you can lose the services. If AHS could keep it the way that it is, it's fine.
I like most that everything in my home is covered. I wish though that AHS had services on the weekends because my heater broke and I gotta sit in the cold for a day or so. Another thing is the water heater. Like now, we got cold water for a week. I hope the price doesn't keep going up either because my dad is 75 years old and he's complaining now. I was really happy that he wasn't there for very long. He didn't have to take everything apart. The furnace is keeping my house so nice and warm.

A tech came out for my light fixture in the basement. When you walk into the basement, it's not getting electric. So, he checked all the outlet to see why it was not getting power to the actual switch for the light. He said that in the wall that was causing it not to get electric. But I don't want my walls torn up right now, so I'm just gonna live with it. But the tech was very thorough and answered all my questions. He was good.

5 Star came out for a broken spring on the garage door. I went on American Home Shield's website through my accounts and requested service on the afternoon of Thanksgiving. Within a matter of 20 minutes, I had an appointment scheduled for Monday morning for them to come out and repair the garage door. American Home Shield has a really easy type in, drop-down form. We've had positive experiences so far and I would recommend them.

The customer service reps at American Home Shield are very good. They're using people from the Philippines and then afterward, they asked, "Did you understand the person?" As an American, I can hire somebody who understands English. But when I speak to them, I don't understand them. So they've realized that now because they asked that specific question, "Did you understand what they were saying?" When I don't understand, I hang up and call again. So they're aware of hiring people who are proficient in English without being able to actually interview them and hear their English. So I was very impressed with that.

The contractor came and messed my shower. The water started coming out by the floor. They wouldn't come back and fix it. The tech wouldn't even talk. I told him it sounded like something was leaked under the house. And my shower in my bathroom in my little den thing wasn't draining. The day they came, they put some black thing in there. The tech told me it would be fine. They would come back when it dried up and check up under the house and see about the leak. He did my little bathtub thing and pumped in it.
Later on that night, we were getting ready to get in the shower to take a shower, and we turned it on. All the water pushed up out the floor. But the tech wanted to talk and put something on a paper that he gave American Home Shield, talking about some dirt. Whatever happened with that shower that made that water push out, he did it. He put that thing in there. But he hasn't been back since. AHS gave me the runaround. I got tired of expressing myself about it. The tech tried to talk smart to me and my momma.

The garbage disposal was leaking. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield on the computer. Their website was easy to use, simple, and to the point. I was told what time and day the contractor would come. I was really pleased with Waldorf Plumbing. The service was excellent. The tech was on time. He was clean and very pleasant. He replaced the garbage disposal. Overall, I like the service with American Home Shield because I can go on the computer and get the service, and get what needs to be done. The only thing is American Home Shield needs to go down on the monthly price. Every year, they go up $10. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with it.

It's easy to file the claims and American Home Shield does a good job of tracking that the deductible and whatever the difference is are paid. There was a leak with the main that we noticed and we called and got someone to come out. They ended up fixing the leak. However, they couldn't turn the water back on. They made us call the city first thing in the morning to shut the water off. They said, "Okay. Call us and we'll come by after you confirm the water's shut off." We called them and they told us over the phone that they would be able to turn the water on. They were able to stop the leak, but they couldn't turn the water on.
Once they fixed the leak, they said, "We don't have the right tool." I said, "What are we supposed to do?" They said, "You have to call another plumber." We had to call another plumber and pay him $700 to turn our water back on because they didn't have the proper tool. We were a little pissed off. We had to go a full day without water and wait and call someone else to get them to turn it on. I'm not happy with it.
American Home Shield has been very nice and professional. They responded. They connected us quickly. It was the group of folks they connected us with that weren't upfront about what they could have done. We would have gone a different route if we knew they wouldn't be able to get our water on. We just assumed that was something they should know.

We had a problem with our microwave. The door was broken and the ice maker wouldn't produce ice. I did a claim through American Home Shield's app. The app was good. Kasanet came out. They texted me saying that they would be coming during a particular time. I asked if we could reschedule. They said they can only do the morning. So, I took off from work to meet them and they didn't show up. I texted them saying, "Where are you?" They said, "Oh, we're running behind. It'll be another two hours." I was like, "I have to be at work. And you told me a time frame, I was here, you guys weren't."
I felt like they cost me a lot of money at work. They finally came in the afternoon when my wife could be here. They did their thing and took a look at it and diagnosed it. They went down and took a look at the microwave and took measurements. They also took a look at the ice maker and looked at serial numbers. The microwave could not be fixed. So, it got submitted for a replacement. That replacement came in and has been installed by a different provider.
In the meantime, they were supposed to get a part. I can see in the system that the part was delivered to them, but they still have not fixed it. I've contacted them repeatedly and I've contacted American Home Shield asking for help on this. Right now, I don't know what to do. It's not being repaired. While American Home Shield overall has been positive, dealing with Kasanet has been extremely negative. I have recommended AHS to friends. However, I tell them that sometimes the providers can be hit or miss.

Somebody was just out to look at our dryer again. A couple of months ago, my wife told me that the dryer wasn't drying the clothes. The guy came out and said that he thought the vent may have been clogged and that we needed to get it unclogged. And if it wasn't that, it was probably the thermostat. So, we paid a company to come out and clean out the stuff. The vent got cleaned out and it still wasn't drying. So, we had them come back out. The guy supposedly, from what my wife said, replaced the thermostat. And just the other day she told me that she was running the clothes four times to get them to dry but it was still not working. When I called American Home Shield, they said it had been too long since the last time they were out. It was more than 30 days. So, we had to pay for a new visit. I paid that and the guy came out. He looked at it and said he didn't think there was anything wrong with it. He didn't know what to do with it.
So far, the service with AHS has been spotty. Sometimes you have to call the vendor and tell them, "Hey, look, you got an order from American Home Shield. I need you to get out here and get this done." But when you do that, it's like, "Well, the first opening we have is in two weeks." AHS doesn't pay a lot of money, and the companies that they contract with are in the game to make money. So, when they're getting contractors, they're getting people that are starting business or don't have much business and they think American Home Shield warranty is gonna be good for them. When it's not, it's not. It just doesn't work great.
All the people that you're talking to when you make the call want to do is get the service fee. It's like they don't even care about what your problem is. It's like, "Well, before we go any further, we have to get your service fee." It's like, "I haven't even explained what the problem is yet." So, it's not customer-oriented. And most of the people that you're talking to at American Home Shield sound like a third-party vendor over in Malaysia. It's all foreign people who don't understand much English.
In some of the more rural areas, there's nobody to service things. And if they have somebody come, they're coming from a distance. So, they tend to put your appointment farther out. We've had situations where we have not had somebody come out. One of them was for the plumber the first time. I called the company that was recommended because I hadn't heard from them, and they said, "Well, we don't service your area." I called Home Shield and complained about it and they got somebody else. We had to wait two weeks and when your water is not working, that's not a good thing. There was a company that came out that was part of the contract, and they were really good. A shower wasn't working the way it was supposed to, and the tech fixed it.

A master bedroom furnace did not come on and it wasn't heating. So, I called American Home Shield and we paid the service fee and Royal Flush came out here and looked at it. The service was completed, and the furnace came back on. They changed one of the components so that it could start heating up again. Everything is going well. The techs were very cordial. This is not the first time I had the company out. They had replaced two of our ACs. So, I had requested them. The other ones that were sent to repair were not very good. AHS has also been very nice because I called them back and said that one of the other contractors they sent for my AC was not very professional because they didn't know what they were doing.
I've got nothing but good things to say about Royal Flush and AHS. There were out-of-pocket expenses for me, but that's understandable. Any time it comes to money, I like to save as much as I can but their price is okay. There can be some improvement in their software. When you have multiple units like the furnace, you can't specify which furnace and how many services you need on it. We have three. So, when and if another one fails, I will have to call because it would say, "The furnace is under warranty, call the Royal Flush," but it's not under warranty because it's a separate furnace. Other than that, I've referred multiple people with no expectation of any incentive from AHS. There are four of my friends who are already customers of AHS. I told them, "Call them when you have a problem and explain what the situation is. You can actually do that online. And so far, I've not had any challenges with AHS."

It's very easy to submit a work request with American Home Shield. That process is streamlined. I did the online request on a Friday. The contractor was there on Monday. It was very quick. While I've been very happy with Expert Pools, sometimes the service providers, when we need them, are not available to come quickly. For example, if our AC went out in the summer, it might take four or five days to get a technician, which is not acceptable. If we had a plumbing stoppage, which happens at our old house, it may take two days to get a plumber to us. That also is not acceptable because it's a stoppage. We can't run water. Also, some of the service providers are not of the quality and caliber I would hope for. They are not super responsive. But Expert Pools is an outlier. They are exceptional.

He saw there was a body joint that the machine had at the back and there was a tiny gap and it was spilling out water from there little by little. There was no communication between me and the appliance company. I reached out to American Home Shield to see if they can step in. They weren't able to contact the company as well. I assumed that American Home Shield failed only because they merely did what I did, which was really try to find a phone number and email to no success. They just kept telling me that they were gonna escalate it. It escalated it. I was gonna receive a return call. I only received one saying that they had no luck, and that they were still working on it.
The company then scheduled an appointment. I got a text alert saying they were coming out the next day. There was no call, just a text. The company did show up the very next day. They made the repairs, but there was a break in communication. American Home Shield didn't tell me anything. I don't think they knew the company came out. The company never really gave a reason as to why they didn't answer the phone, or let me know where the part was, or how long it was gonna take to finish the job. They did come out and fixed the appliance. I've had good experiences with American Home Shield. I've had several plans with them. I've had numerous homes. I think companies like that should be shut down after what I read on yelp on companies they sent to client houses. My experience with American Home Shield was terrible. My oven broke so I decide to use my warranty trough AHS. They send me MS APPLIANCE SERVICE, the technician come, did estimate and left. After his visit I received mail from AHS - only few things are covered by insurance, but not all of the problem, due to fake report from technician "Dimitri". He said my glass door was cracked due to my bad handling. There was no cracked at all, I made a pictures and resend them all to insurance, who ignored my mails for few weeks.
I called the service guy, without success to reach him. Even when I and my husband left him couple voice messages. They never call us back, they never answered their phone. I decided I will call directly AHS and if they can deal with that technician since there was the one who choice him and send him to my house. I was patiently waited over 2weeks for any kind of respond.
I decided to google the company they send to my house. And I discover shocking review on Yelp, how the company is not even licensed, how AHS hire this kind of company for purpose of denial of coverage. I could not even read anymore. I was keep calling AHS twice a week to try move forward. After almost a month I receive phone call back, then they will send me another technician for no aditional cost. Oh Great! Let me google them as well, so I will know this company is legit.
"Ukon appliances repair".. wow another bad company with over 300 shocking bad reviews, mention AHS company recommend them to their clients. This is not ok, people paying their money to be covered to "spam companies" who just collecting the payments, but they have 0 interest to help their clients and keep their words!! I request refund and cancelation. They refund me only partial what I paid for warranty, but they didn't refund me the deductible what I paid for estimate for unlicensed spam company!
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'd like to apologize for not meeting your expectations. Please know that our team will be using your feedback to prevent this from happening again in the future.

If you're looking for a company that promises to cover everything up until the moment you purchase the policy, and nothing the moment after you purchase the policy, this is the company for you! I even had the good sense to buy up on the warranty period and throw in a few additional covered items as well! Move in to house day 1: Walk into kitchen, water dripping from ceiling onto kitchen island. Big bummer, but, NO PROBLEM - I've got coverage!
Plumber shows up. Shows me where it's leaking. Photos attached. The leak is above the tile on a deck mount jacuzzi tub. Great. I know the source of the leak. We tested the drain, found no leaks. I'm happy. I had a problem, but it's fixable. But my plumber got his tools robbed that day, so he had almost no tools with him. And then he tells me that the leak is also 'probably' somewhere below the tile and the tile would have to be ripped out to verify. And he can't do that. He can only do the plumbing. Ok, still, no problem. If it takes a little longer, I can wait. I'm going to live here a long time and I want it done right.
Day 3: American Home Shield tells me it's not covered because the leak is below the tile and they won't cover anything behind an unexposed surface. I lost my temper. Day 3 or 4 (the days start to blur here): I cooled off. I explained to American Home Shield that the actual location of the leak is above the exposed surface. Just as the plumber showed me. I sent pictures as they requested. I hear back from them that it still isn't going to be covered. Even though I sent pictures showing that it was an exposed surface where there was a leak. But, nope. Not covered. "The determination has already been made." Day 4: It's Thanksgiving day. I decided not to let this upset me. Just move on, pay what you shouldn't have to pay. Fix what you shouldn't have to fix. And reflect on all the times I let other people down and be grateful for all the good people, opportunities and things I've been blessed with.
Day 7: Called local handyman. He was delightful. He opened up the faucet, saw the two dried out o-rings and confidently said "that's your problem right there. This is easy to fix. Those washers are only a few bucks." He fixed in in about 4 minutes. No leaks. But I told him: "Listen, I had a professional plumber come out here. These guys were recommended by American Home Shield who insures thousands of homes throughout the country. Their plumber said it's also leaking below the tile. I can't run this tub unless we do what they say." So he chisels out one tile, videos the plumbing underneath. No leaks. I go to the tub and look for myself. I didn't believe him. I looked myself, ran the water for a long time. No leaks. But I've got mortar dust throughout the whole bathroom and bedroom and I've got a 12" x 12" hole in my tub wall that also needs to be fixed now.
Day 9: I hear from American Home Shield. I explain everything. I tell them that they should reimburse me for the local handyman and to replace the tile. Nope. Not covered. I ask to speak with a supervisor. Nope. The determination has been documented and made. I asked 2 or 3 times to speak with a supervisor. Nope. No can do.
Long post. Sorry. But I don't think anyone should waste the money on these guys. It's a bill of goods. It's false peace of mind. This is a typical insurance company that knows it's cheaper to reject claims and fight a few people than to pay all the claims they should pay. Their brochure is very misleading. You have to read what is covered and what is not covered very carefully. Read it a few times and let it sink in. It's subtly sneaky language. It doesn't cover anything that is not "exposed." Think about that for a minute.. About 99% of your electrical, plumbing and infrastructure is behind walls, cabinets, tile. All the things you are worried about - all the things that you want covered - all the things that your home inspection could not see, that you want to cover with this insurance - they are not covered.
And, just to rub your nose in it, faucets that are exposed - that should be covered according to the sneaky agreement - Well, sorry buddy. Those aren't covered either. As I was told about three times: "The determination has already been made." You'll spend a ton less money and headache if you just find a local handyman. Keep it in the community instead of giving it to a big, greedy corporation that kicks you when you're down.
I understand your frustration and appreciate your feedback. Please feel free to contact us at consumeraffairs@ahs.com so we can talk more about your experience.

A spring went on my garage door, so I filed a thing with AHS to have the techs come out. They came and fixed this spring. Then, three weeks later and the day before Thanksgiving, I noticed that it wasn't closing all the way. So there was a gap at the top and the bottom. I waited until Monday because of the holiday then I called AHS. They said that it was outside of the 30 days by two days, so they didn't make me pay the service fee again and the techs were going to come back out. And the girl called me to schedule it. But my husband happened to fix. So, I told the girl that we didn't need it and she said to go on and cancel it so that the techs would get the notification that the appointment was canceled. So yesterday, I canceled it.
I decided to get AHS because our home is older and you never know what could happen. I've had the warranty for at least three years and we've used it a couple of times. But I thought that we had coverage on our air conditioner and we ended up financing the whole air conditioner. We got $1,000 off but I didn't realize that the warranty wasn't going to help us very much in that case. Other than that, it has worked out good on some things. But to anyone considering getting the warranty, they should look into what the coverage is before they sign up.

The dryer did not dry all the way and made this loud squealing noise. Once the repairman opened it up, he found that there was a wheel system that made the drum roll and that little apparatus with the wheel on it gave out. We would either get it fixed right then and there or it would be eventually a catastrophic failure. He had what he needed to fix it. We also had our washer replaced. However, the first couple of times when we had a similar problem with the dryer, the guy didn't wanna do anything with it. But overall, it has been a good experience with American Home Shield. We haven't had to wait as long as a week, but it all depends on what they have on their schedule.

I file claims online and AHS's website is pretty user-friendly. My most recent service request was good. My refrigerator stopped cooling and I put in the claim yesterday. The technician came today and he has to order the parts. Before that, I had a claim for my dryer and the person they sent out was good but my dryer still isn't working up to par. I don't think it was the right door because it's still not closing all the way. AHS has been pretty good with me but the few times that I called in, the person didn't really seem that knowledgeable. She just kept repeating what I was saying. I don't know if she understood it or what. She didn't really speak English very well.

American Home Shield gets things done as quickly as possible. Sometimes I would have to wait. The longest I waited one time for plumbing was about five days because it was winter and everybody was booked. But most of the time, things have been taken care of expeditiously. It's usually two to three days. The only thing that I don't like about it is I never get to talk to a person if I had a question. It was always just the computer.
I got a new furnace, a new air conditioner, two new water heaters, a new dryer, a new stove, a new refrigerator, a new dishwasher, and all my fans have been fixed. I've had multiple plumbing issues. I couldn't be happier. A-1 Haney came out to my house because they had to put a new waterline to a new dishwasher that was installed. I've had them at my house times in the last 10 years and they have always been on time, very professional, and got the job done. I know at least three of my clients that have American Home Shield now.

I've been a customer of American Home Shield for years now. I have multiple properties and the problem I've seen, they have used a lot of people overseas and that makes it a little bit difficult sometimes to communicate with them. I noticed that they'd just be reading off of the script instead of understanding what the situation is. However, the contractors provided very good communication and they came within a couple of days. They replaced the water heater and fixed the issue that there was at the house.
But, some contractors that American Home Shield has been getting recently, have been lacking as far as attention to the client. I don't know if it's because the parts are taking forever to get here. But recently, it's been taking longer than usual on some of the requests. I had a claim for the AC unit. I wasn't even notified that they opted to replace the air handler unit completely because they couldn't find the panel board or the panel board was taking too long to get here. It just got fixed yesterday and I submitted the request on the 25th of October.

I signed up with American Home Shield believing my appliances would be covered as promised. I filed a claim just 30 days after starting the policy and was charged a $100 service fee. When the technician came out, he informed me that while my appliance had been discontinued, it could be replaced if the warranty company found the required items.
Instead, I received an email denying the claim due to a “preexisting condition” and was asked to provide proof that the item was functioning before the warranty started—a completely unreasonable request. The technician even mentioned this was a common issue with this type of appliance and hinted the company might not cover it due to my policy being new. American Home Shield misrepresented their coverage and wasted my time and money. I regret trusting them and would not recommend this company to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and avoid AHS at all costs.

American Home Shield is a great resource to have because the normal home warranties that we pay through insurance companies don't cover appliances. Appliances are not cheap. The service clause for appliances is also not cheap and trying to get a service person out to come look at an appliance that has broken down is a process on its own. American Home Shield helps people cut out the part of having to wait on the phone or wait for the service provider to call back. It automatically sends the message to the service provider. I love American Home Shield. Every claim I've done with them has been quick and timely. They're on top of getting our repairs done. On the other hand, I had two different claims where Sears came out and if I had to rate them, it would be at a 1.
I had a claim for my refrigerator that was squirting out the top of it and the inside of the refrigerator was freezing my food instead of just keeping it cold. That was the first claim. The second claim was for my washing machine. It was making a rattling noise, and then the tub stopped spinning altogether. I went on the website for American Home Shield and submitted what was wrong. The claims process was very easy but for me to get the service done, it was a headache. Sears gave me a time frame of 8:00 to 5:00, and I'm a teacher. I need a smaller time frame. For both repairs, Sears didn't come until 2:00, 3:00, or 4:00 and I had taken a whole day off work to sit at my house and wait for them. It was four days that I had to do.
The initial one for the refrigerator, luckily, my dad was in town and he hung out at my house until the guy came. The Sears guy didn't come until after lunchtime. When the guy had to come back and do the replacement part, he didn't come until 4:00, so I had taken off a whole day at work for nothing. With the washing machine, I realized that Sears gives an update of when they're coming, so I told my boss that I would be leaving to go to my house as soon as I get updated the guy's on his way. I had to get coverage for my class for me to be there and I kind of got in trouble at work because the guy came around 2:00 then. When he came back to replace the part, he didn't come until after 3:00, but according to what Sears told me, he was supposed to be there at 8:00 that morning.
I had to take two days off for times that I could've just left early from work. Originally, Sears will say 8:00 to 5:00, then they'll send a message the day of and say, "Estimated arrival will be 10:15," so then, I was thinking they were gonna be there at 10:15. Aside from that, the refrigerator guy came in, did his business and left. He didn't really talk. The washing machine guy did the same thing. He came in and did his business. However, he made me mad because when he drained the washing machine, it drained all over my floor, and then he just left his paper towels sitting on my floor for me to clean up. My floor was still soaking wet as well, so I still had to go back and clean up after him. If someone's coming in to repair my house, they should be responsible to clean up their mess.
We're thrilled to hear that you were satisfied with our services. Your feedback is appreciated, and we look forward to helping you again.

I am very dissatisfied with American Home Shield. Stay away from it. They will just take you for your money. My son got them. He went on and on about how great the were. He said, "You really need to do it." Because we're not young anymore. I said, "Okay. I'll check into it." He gave me the number. I called. The gentleman on the phone raved about, "We can save you so much money. We can save you so much money. If you have a roof leak, we'll come in and we'll fix your roof. If we can't fix your roof, then we get it repaired. All it cost is just your deductible." We would just have to pay $125. "We'll repair your roof leaks. We'll repair the appliances. If we can't fix it, we'll get you one equal value." I said, "Okay. That sounds great."
We have used AHS four times. They did great on the washer and dryer. They also did good on the stove. The motherboard had went out on it. The gentleman that came was very helpful. He said, "Samsung, these type of models, the motherboard goes out quite often." We've already had it replaced and it's going back out. He said that is just one of the flaws. Also, a contractor came and fixed my washing machine. It was fantastic.
We started getting leaks in the roof. We've had some bad storms with high winds and heavy rains. We got six to eight inches of rain in a short period of time. We have an A-frame house. AHS said that they would repair leaks. Home Pro people got ahold of us and said that they would be out. At 7:00 that afternoon, I rushed home from work and waited. At 8 o'clock, I called. I got ahold of nobody. The tech texted me back, "Sorry. I was on a job. I can come over now." It was dark. He said, "I can come by in the morning." "Yeah. Just come by in the morning."
They were here for not even three minutes. We have a pitched roof. He said, "It's running down from the pitched roof and it's settling. And you have missing shingles." The missing shingles have nothing to do with where the leak is. That's on the other side of the house. They did nothing. They never reported the leak to AHS. I didn't hear anything back for a while. I called AHS and they said they haven't got anything back from the contractor. So, AHS called them and they sent the report. AHS turned around and denied it.
AHS sent another person out because I was pissed. They sent another company out to look at the leak. The tech said it was due to wear and tear. I understand. It's an older home. We've had the roof repaired and redone twice since we moved in the 15 years. The gentleman said, "I can put a Band-Aid on it, but it's not gonna fix it. And it's gonna be about $3,000 to get it fixed.” When I got AHS, they told me that they would repair the roof leaks. All it would cost me was the deductible. The rep said I would save thousands of dollars. We got a letter yesterday saying that AHS denied the claim because it exceeds the $1,000 roof coverage. They didn't even do the $1,000 worth of work.

I had a bad experience with a previous warranty company and I ended my warranty with them and went to American Home Shield. Shortly after, I realized that my air conditioner was old and when spring came along, I made the decision to not even report it to them. I just bought a new one because that was the only fair thing to do.
A local company from Omaha came and installed it and the first thing they did was look at the furnace. They told me that I should immediately have the gas turned off and that it was inoperable. So, I called AHS to look at it. When the tech that they sent came, he looked at it and said there was nothing wrong with the machine. It was working fine when he arrived and he made it appear that it wasn't, and then restored it. And it's been working fine ever since then. I appreciated this company out of Red Oak and AHS that it worked out that way. Apparently, the other air conditioning company was trying to defraud me into buying a new furnace. They made me sign this document showing that the thing was inoperative, and acknowledging how critical it was.
I was very pleased with American Home Shield and the response I got from them. I was delighted that I was not gonna have to buy a new furnace and I certainly didn't have any intention of ever putting the responsibility on them either. But I got a letter from Front Door and it made me feel a little uneasy. It stated that my recent service request was denied. It was like they were accusing me of trying to defraud AHS. And that is not the case. Maybe I'm being over-reactive, but it offended me. If I was gonna defraud AHS, I would have done something with that air conditioner earlier. I've lived in this house for 21 years and it was an old machine when I moved in here. So I didn't want it repaired. At this point, I wanted a new one, so I bought one, which was how I ended up with this other company that tried to get me to buy a furnace.
My dishwasher quit on me too in the past few weeks. And like the air conditioner, I was not willing to have that one repaired. I never liked that particular machine even though I bought it myself about 15 years ago. So I bought a new dishwasher and it's sitting here in my kitchen. I did not and am not going to request any help from AHS in buying it but I need somebody to install it. I’m wondering if there is a way that they can refer someone to me or someone that I can call to get this installed.
We appreciate your feedback and hope you continue to enjoy American Home Shield!

I'm in love with American Home Shield. I was so happy with my most recent service request to them. I gave the guy who came a hug because he fixed my washer and dryer. He was from Americare Appliance Repair. He was very respectful. He was mindful of my hardwood floors. He put little booty things on his feet. He had one of the parts on his truck and he didn't have the other part that I needed. So, he called some company who happened to have it. He picked up the part because he said he didn't want me to wait an extra day. He asked if I minded if he would go and get it and come back. I told him, "No, I really appreciate that."
He fixed both of my washer and dryer because both of them were down. The dryer wasn't getting hot. As for the washer, you would turn the button and pull it, and it wouldn't work. The guy got both of them working. He let the dryer run to make sure that the dryer was getting hot. I am grateful because I really couldn't afford a new washer and a dryer at the same time. I was praying that it could be fixed. The tech took it upon himself to call and see if the company had the part. I said, "Boy, not too many people do that." He checked everything and made sure everything was working perfectly before he left.
I'm so happy to be a customer of American Home Shield. I'm so happy that they're a company that stands by their word. So far, I only had to use them twice. I had a plumbing issue, too. The people that came to do the work were nice. They were courteous. So, I am very impressed, and that's one of the bills that I make sure gets paid automatically out of my check. I passed the word on to my daughter and a couple of other friends.

The tech from A Fix Service called and let me know that he was on his way. He was nice and showed up on time. He tried to fix the washer but it didn't work. He said that it wasn't balanced. I told him that sometimes, my dryer doesn't work. The first load dries but when I put another load in it, it won't dry. So, he said it might be the thermometer. He doesn't see that it is but they're gonna try if that will fix it. He showed me the piece that he was talking about and explained everything.
The tech seemed authentic and was trying to do the best job possible. He told me to call him if I have any more problems. I did and they came right away. I still have to get my washer fixed. The ice maker was not producing ice and the tech from NPM Heating came and attempted to do what he needed to do. The young man was professional but he wasn’t clean. He had to take the icemaker out the door and didn't wash his hands. He didn't have on gloves and when he put it back in, it had black marks all over. It was gross. The ice maker is not working. The part was ordered but it came in broken. So, it was reordered. The young man came and delivered the part and I called about four days later because it still wasn't producing any ice. He said that because of the type of refrigerator that it is, he had to order a door. Then, I received a call from someone from American Home Shield saying that the door would take 8 weeks for delivery. The highest number was up to 25 weeks to get the part in.
The gentleman asked if I still wanna proceed or if I wanna cash out the amount for the ice maker, get another one and have it installed. And I told him that I'll wait. So, I don't expect it to be fixed until February. I always recommend AHS to friends. But more times than not, I have an issue every time I have to use the service. The consistency with the third-party vendor needs to be better because I've never heard of NPM Heating and Cooling. There used to be a time when AHS would send out Superior Heating and Cooling, well-known vendors in the area. In the last couple of times, it's been mom and pop shop business.
The ticket before the current one was for a free furnace inspection. A vendor came out, another mom-and-pop shop, and the young man went downstairs and did the inspection. I sat down there with him for a minute and then left. When he came back upstairs to give me his report, his findings were amazing, especially because he referred back to the notes from the prior year. He proceeded to tell me that my furnace was rusting and that it had sitting water in it. Apparently, it's been happening for at least a couple of years.
The young man showed pictures and, in the pictures, there was no standing water. There was some rust. He just pulled up a report from last year and it didn't show anything. He tried to tell me that some unit was going out, that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. And once again, he referred to a prior report which mentioned none of that. And I brought all of that to his attention. Then he proceeded to tell me that my outside air conditioning unit was "sinking" in the ground and needed to be replaced. He asked me when I had the unit serviced last. I said that it was last year, just like the furnace. And nobody mentioned anything about my unit sinking to the ground.
The young man pulled up a picture of my outside unit and proceeded to point around the base of the unit. He pointed out that it was sinking and I just looked at him and said that it’s grass from when I get my grass cut. And if he looks further, he can see the black platform that it's on. He just closed the picture up and didn't say anything else about it.
I've always pushed AHS overall as a company. I've had services from them for over 20 years on all of my properties. So I've always used it. It's just the vendors that they're using now are doubtful. I’m wondering why it is taking four months to get a refrigerator door, and it's a Whirlpool, and why someone is coming in to inspect my furnace and telling me about my air conditioning unit outside. Also, I wish the price would stop going up. I have the platinum. If you don't use it for a period of time, six months or a year, it shouldn't increase every year. Because my service call is $125. So, that's something on top of what I pay 145 a month for the actual service. But I like having AHS so I'll pay whatever I have to pay. I wouldn't have started at $140 something a month for something I can't tangibly touch.

Stay away from AHS. They would con you. I know people that got services completed by them, but it has been a months drawn-out processes. If you can go months without your working air conditioning or refrigerator, maybe you would get something from them. Otherwise, they would just try to take your money and not provide you the service you're paying for. Dun-Rite Appliance came out. The tech looked at the fridge. He determined what was broken. He said, "I'm gonna order parts. And they should arrive by Monday” which was four days after the initial visit. I said, "Okay." Monday happened. The parts never came. I called Dun-Rite Appliance five times throughout the course of that week. Never heard back from them. I also called the insurance company, but I got nowhere with them. No one could give me an answer.
Two weeks went by. And on a random Tuesday, this guy from Dun-Rite Appliance showed up at my house. It was election day. Without prescheduling an appointment, he just showed up, with no parts, and he asked, "Where are the parts?" I said, "I don't have the parts. I called you multiple times and told you I don't have the parts. They never came." He said, "Oh, okay." He left, said he would call me back. He never did. It was another week of me calling Dun-Rite Appliances, calling the insurance company, being told 10 different things by every person I spoke to.
I got an email from the insurance company, "We've completed your service. Please evaluate how we did." I said, "You did nothing." Every time I spoke to somebody at either company, nobody could give me an answer. They just kept telling me, "We're gonna replace your fridge." The next person spoke to said, "No. We're not replacing your fridge. That's not happening. We're waiting for parts, but we haven't ordered them yet."
After like weeks of this and never getting resolution, at least, a month went by, and I couldn't get a clear answer from anyone, I tried to cancel my American Home Shield policy. Every time I called to cancel it, they would hang up the phone on me. I must have tried to call and cancel six times. I had my husband try and call and cancel. We freaked out and they canceled once I told them that I would dispute all of the charges on my credit card.

I had an issue with American Home Shield regarding a service provider they sent to my home. He was very racist and asked me for more money after I paid my initial to AHS. After that was done, he told me he couldn't do the work. He was fixing my kitchen faucet and it wasn't fixable. He did not have a faucet in his truck to fit my sink so he would have to come back. I had a MOEN faucet and he said it probably would be best to get my own faucet. He would come back and put it in but it'll be a service fee of $97. I already paid $100 for my service call and I pay every month a hundred dollars to American Home Shield. When he first told me I was gonna have to pay money when he came back, I told two of those customer service reps about it. They told me to call them if he asks me for money. And I did.
The service provider was visibly upset because I told him I needed to call AHS because he asked about the $97. He got on the phone and said his rep for American Home Shield told him that I had to pay. He got on the phone with American Home Shield as well. I had a different guy on the phone and the service provider explained to him that his rep from AHS said that I have to pay and doesn’t have to bill them directly for it. So, he was telling them that they don’t have to pay but they have to tell me that I have to pay. The guy was telling me no initially and then after he talked to the service provider, he said I had to pay him the $97 for him to put the faucet in. I said okay but that was not what I was told so I would need a call back from a supervisor. He said, “Fine, ma’am.” He no longer knows my name.
I told the service provider I was going upstairs to get my purse. He said I was supposed to pay before he came. I said that nobody sent me anything to pay anything and he replied that his representative should have sent me a link to pay before he came here. I said again that nobody sent me anything, which was true, and went to go upstairs. He was walking towards the front door and I asked if he was gonna put the faucet in. He just looked at me. He was gonna say I have to set up another appointment for him to come out and I said he could do it and I would pay the fee. He looked at me. I asked if he didn’t wanna do the work. He proceeded to walk out the door.
During that service call, it was my faucet that broke and my stovetop. AHS was much nicer with the stovetop but they took my faucet off the account as covered. They did a cashout, which was $300 for me to pay for someone to put it in. So, I paid the money to have the faucet installed and sent AHS pictures of the old faucet broken up in a box and a picture of the new faucet. I had to find a person to put in the stovetop, which was Grant Appliances. They put in my stovetop, even though I didn't purchase it from them.
Prism, the person that AHS sent out to service my stovetop saw that the valve was broken. At that time they did not do installations and they recommended that the stovetop be replaced because they couldn't find a replacement valve for the stovetop. So, I informed AHS about it and that I would need another service provider that does installations dispatch. But they didn't have anyone for me. So, I had to find my own person. One guy wanted almost $700 to put it in. But Grant did it for almost $400.
I've had AHS for a long time and I’m not happy that they changed the way they're doing things. I've had them since I had my first house in Illinois and now, I have a home in Kenosha for 27 years. So, I was surprised to get that type of treatment. The faucet guy was mad. He was yelling and screaming. My husband and my son happened to be coming over to visit and had dropped something off. My son was leaving and he turned around and walked back. He looked at him and asked me if everything was okay. I said yes and then, he looked at him for a minute and stood there. He put his fist up to do a fist pump and then the guy finally did the fist pump and left. But my husband had come and walked through as well because that guy was rude. I don't want him back at my house. It was like American Home Shield was trying to force me to accept him back in my home. That experience was horrible.

My garden faucet outside was leaking and the contractor came out and attempted to fix it. When they took off the anti-siphon valve, they stripped the threads on the faucet unbeknownst to them. When I went to hook the hose back up, it wouldn't go back on. So, I called up the company and they sent someone right out. They rethreaded it and everything is fine now. But I had a bad experience with my air conditioning. I went online and requested the service. AHS replied quickly, within 24 hours. Then, they sent a tech out. He inadvertently shorted more stuff out. It was my blower fan for my air conditioning. The tech said he could get a blower motor and be back probably the next day. I never heard from him, so I called them and they said the blower is unavailable in the state. It may take two weeks to get it.
I did some research and that blower is made 45 minutes from my house. The contractor never got back to me. So, I ended up paying $1,000 out of my pocket to get it fixed because my house is 90-something degrees. I called American Home Shield and I couldn't talk to a manager. So, that's a negative for them. All the rep would do is read off their checklist. I didn't need to hear the answers from the checklist. I needed somebody out here to fix this and take care of the problem. American Home Shield’s philosophy is that once they hook you up with a contractor, it's between you and the contractor and not AHS. That company didn't call me for four weeks and said they could set up a work order. But not anymore. I paid my $100 deductible to American Home Shield. We got nothing for it except the tech blew up my motor or shorted some stuff out in my system that I had to pay another guy to come out. And the guy got the motor the next day.
I don't know if that particular contractor only dealt with certain vendors. But when they said there wasn't one available in Florida, they lied to me. I was not happy. The blower motor is $800 by itself and I helped the tech from the other company troubleshoot the electrical issue because I have an electrical background. He didn't charge me to troubleshoot but it still cost me plus the deductible to American Home Shield. But other than that, it's been fine. I probably had six claims with them.

With AHS, you get a free service for your heat in the winter and your air conditioner in the summer. I did that recently and the guy wo came out was great. He said everything looks good. But American Home Shield's deductibles have got higher, which is ridiculous. And sometimes, they take forever to do a claim. I've had American Home Shield for years and sometimes, you fight to cover things even though they're covered. So we've had good times and bad times with them.
Every couple of years, I had my house inspected and on top of the water heater, the pipes all rusted out. I had two people come see it and they said it was the people that did it at the time. So I called American Home Shield because they were the ones who did the work and they said they weren't responsible for any of it. I had to keep fighting them back because the whole thing needed to be replaced. And they fought me on it. Then finally, they covered it. But it took four months because the company that did it went out of business. I had other plumbers come out and they said they used the wrong piping. It was supposed to be a wider pipe. One of the hardest things with American Home Shield is getting a supervisor, because nobody wants to talk to you. They always give you an excuse and say that no one's available. They would also say they'll call you back, then they never call you back.
Sincerely,
Mariah

I am extremely happy with American Home Shield. But I have a little problem with my fan and them finding someone who can fix it. I turned in the claim about two weeks ago and one person came out, but they could not do anything about it. Now, American Home Shield has gone to somebody else that's local, Soroth Electronics, which is what I want anyway. They are coming out Monday to look at the fan.
We are retired and AHS helps us because we don't have the money to put out for a major appliance. I like to have them because they repair or replace things. We pay so much money a month plus $100 when a technician drives up to look at a problem, then they order the parts, and they come out and put it in. They do not charge us but one time for a tech to pull up in our driveway and I like that.
They just replaced a refrigerator for us and it was much better than what came with the house. But because of a little thing like the icemaker wouldn't work and they couldn't find a part for it, they replaced it with a refrigerator and we didn't have to put out any more money after that. They also replaced a dishwasher for us. The techs were coming back three times for the same parts because they could fix those parts. I trust AHS a lot. I can afford them and they give us quality products. If we wanted to upgrade, they also have that option as well. And they have very good techs that come from where we are. So, we get to know them and we get to look forward to seeing them because they always fix whatever our problem is. I feel very safe with their people, that they're going to get the product, and they're going to help us in any way that they can.

Rooter King was the worst service I ever experienced at my house. They lied. They said a lot of things, so I didn't like them coming out here. They came and got paid extra to come out here on an emergency visit. I had a plumbing problem. With that being said, the guy came out. He didn't know where the water was coming from. It was coming from under the ground. Then he said that he didn't know where it was and he would have to call another crew, which he did. He sent out a crew for restoration. I'm thinking, “How can the restoration man find it? They're restoration. And he is a plumber.” So, it was ugly.
And then all of a sudden, the restoration people are here. They're more or less interested in telling me about the fact that we have asbestos. They were doing everything, and then they told me that they were gonna have to come in here in my dining room and break it all open. Then they went in there and talked to my dad. After they looked at the property, they went in there. And they kept saying, "The water line was this, that, and the other." My daddy built our house. He said, “I built the house, so I know where the water lines are.”
So, they went back and told American Home Shield that we would not allow them in the property. If I didn't allow them in the property, how is it that they were able to send the restoration people? So, that was a loss for us behind Roto-Rooter. I did have to use my insurance and use a licensed plumber who works with a friend of mine and their general contractors. That man came. And we're out of like $4,000 behind Rooter King, their lies, and American Home Shield going on the fact of what they said.
So, then I asked them if I could use my own plumber. They said if they were not contracted by American Home Shield, then they were unable to do it. So, giving Rooter King a terrible thing is what I wanna do. The next thing happened in here. Our water heater was going out. I asked for Rooter King never to come back to my house because of the previous situation. AHS sent Rooter King back out here, and the man looked at me and my dad and said, “Yes. You need a new water heater. This, that, and the third.” He went back to the office and put in there that the water heater was just fine due to the previous thing that had happened with us.
So, then I called Home Shield, and I said, “Can I get a second opinion?” At this time, because we didn't use Rooter King—my daddy told them to get out the house and never come back—that they wanted to sabotage something. So, when they sent the second people out here, they automatically saw what was going on. I have a new water heater because of them.Rooter King does do stuff. But I don't believe that they do stuff correctly.

I wasn't satisfied with American Home Shield until I finally got my issue resolved the other day, but it took three weeks to get approval for replacing my water heater. And because it took that long, I went another route and paid for it myself. I tried to convince them that it was covered under my contract, and it fell on deaf ears. Almost three weeks later, they finally said that they reversed their decision. They did reimburse me for part of the expense, only about half of the expense that I made on my own, and gave me a cash in lieu, but it was very disturbing that it took three weeks for a water heater.
Lately, I've been doing my claims online, but I’ve done the call. Their website is good. It's easier to do a service request. The only time I really need to talk to somebody is if there are more than one item in a repair category. If I have two or three plumbing issues, I wanna make sure that they're only gonna charge me for one service call. I always wanna talk to somebody to confirm that, because when you try and do multiple items in one category, it doesn't allow you to do that on the website. Therefore, if I were to make another service call and add the other one, then it would be two different service calls. So, they need to do something about their website where you can input more than one plumbing repair, for example, in that category. That's when I call because I want somebody to document it and I want them to email me that there's only one service call.

We went online to submit the claim to American Home Shield and it was easy and straightforward. Where necessary, you pay the fee and the next step is to arrange for the service window. We haven't had any particularly negative experiences with waiting for the contractor to come in to do the work. Dealing with them has been excellent. We got our furnace repaired in our most recent claim. We had a problem with the fumes escaping from the furnace and when he came, he did the adjustments. He replaced the nozzle and after his departure, everything went well.

Prior to taking the house, somebody called American Home Shield for the dishwasher and the contractor came out and looked at it. Some decision was made on it that I wasn't aware of. But when we came in and saw the dishwasher, we knew it had to go. We've been trying to reach out to American Home Shield, asking for somebody to come and rectify the whole issue. We were told somebody has to decide if it's obsolete. We have eyes. We can see that's obsolete. But they have to decide if it's obsolete and nobody has come to do that.
The only thing that has happened so far is a whole lot of boxes. When I asked the TechPro agent at the time, “Are you guys gonna be sterilizing, using particular type of chemicals or whatever you're gonna use to make the dishwasher not toxic to my family anymore? Is it that you're just gonna fix it and leave us to put our plates that we're gonna be eating from in such a toxic machine or will you guys be bringing it to a human level where human beings can actually interact with it before you leave?” They told me, “No,” point blank. It was not their job. My thing was give me a cashout and have us figure out how to get a different dishwasher. But it's something American Home Shield doesn't feel like they're leaning towards doing. It's been a week, going into a month or more, and I've got no response back.
I've called American Home Shield multiple times and the agents have called. They haven't gotten through to anybody. They have left emails and messages. Nobody has gotten back to us. I have all of these boxes at my house. The dishwasher is still not in use. It's getting even more moldy and toxic for the home. It needs to go. We just need some solution to this at this point. This particular last instance have really left me a very uncomfortable space. But overall, my experience with American Home Shield has been fine.

I had an issue with my garbage disposal leaking water all underneath my cabinet. I called American Home Shield and they had a plumber out within a couple of days. I just kept a large bowl under there, and the tech completely replaced the garbage disposal, which was probably more than 10 years old. I paid my fee for that. He diagnosed it first. He ran a couple of tests to see if it even was the disposal or a leak from somewhere else. Then he showed me the garbage disposal box that it came in. I got a picture of the box so that I could look it up online. I wanted to know exactly what kind of garbage disposal I had. So, I asked him if I could get a picture of the box that it came in. He let me take a picture of the box. Now, there's no more leaking.
I also had a claim for my refrigerator I had come home and there was water on the floor and I thought, "Well, a couple of ice cubes dropped out." That's happened before. I dried it up and then the next day, there was water on the floor. I opened the freezer and started looking around. I saw that there was a bunch of water in the very bottom. I pulled the bottom tray out and there was water sitting. I could see where it was overflowing out and coming through the door, and then a part of it was frozen. I called American Home Shield, and they had signed that to Sears. I didn't really care for Sears. It was an 8 AM to 5 PM window. So, I scheduled that on a day that I worked from home, which turned out to be a very good thing, because they canceled on me the first time. They didn't cancel until 4:15. I got the text that they had to reschedule it. All I could think was, "I'm so glad I didn't use a vacation day for this. I would have sat here all day."
So, I scheduled it for another day that I work from home. Then this very nice gentleman came and pull my refrigerator out, showed me exactly what it was, and this little thing that was plugged up in the back. I thought I'd need a whole new fridge. He took this part out and he said, "Sometimes this gets clogged with dust or pet hair and it just needs to be rinsed out and cleaned out in the sink." He showed me exactly where it was because I was making a mental note, "Next time I can do this myself." He showed me step by step, "This is exactly what it is. You don't need a new refrigerator. This happens. It's nothing you did. It could happen again in a couple of years. It could happen again next week. You just never know with these things." He was the nicest man.
He even gave me time when he pulled the refrigerator out. I was mortified by the dust that was back there. He let me grab my Shop-Vac. I said, "Man, I'm so sorry. Before you push this back, can I vacuum back here? I'm a clean freak and I never pull my refrigerator out.” He sat there and watch me Shop-Vac all back behind the refrigerator, and then he wheeled it back for me. That took him though about 40 minutes, but I got that repaired too. I was pleased with both. I just didn't care that they had canceled it the first time on such late notice, but it all worked out after that.
We appreciate your business and value your feedback. If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know.

I had a home warranty before that I wasn't happy with and I researched American Home Shield's service. I liked the reviews and I got them in September. I had a service that was done a second time because the technician the first time didn't do it correctly and I had the same problem. But because I was 10 days outside of the 30-day warranty, there was no recourse. I had to open a new claim altogether, even though I hadn't been using my heat at all. I didn't know that it wasn't fixed. So, I was unhappy and very dissatisfied with my most recent experience. It was the same issue, related to my heat and I didn’t have to use it until recently so AHS could have offered some type of grace period or at least a reduction in the cost of that payment. They gave me zero options. It was a five-minute phone call. I was happy that they were available to talk to me at 3:00 in the morning, which was when I noticed the issue. But the answer was just a flat-out no.
Nobody was going to even look into it or even ask the supervisor to see if there was anything they could do. AJS didn't even attempt to try to make it right. But they sent out a different company and it was good. It was fast since it was something simple that the first technician should have done. I also had a claim on a water heater and it had to be replaced. The AHS rep said I may have to pay an extra $210 in charges, which was fine. I contacted the company and they told me it was gonna be $75 and I said okay. But once they found out that there was a max of $210, they automatically charged me that fee and wouldn't take any less than that. So, I felt a little bit uncomfortable with that. But I paid for it.
The online process is very easy. The only downfall was when I had to deal with my water heater. I had to call the company that they dispatched several times. They were supposed to get with me in 24 hours and I gave them three days. Every single time something had to happen, I had to reach out to them. They seemed very disorganized. But that was not American Home Shield's fault. Everything is automated through the website and is very clear and easy.

American Home Shield is a great company. They did a great job. I had been with them before and I was in another state. I was in Memphis, Tennessee and it was good there. The fan in the master bedroom made a noise. The other one in the guest bedroom made noises too like it rubbed up against the metal part of the fan. The tech told me that AHS wouldn't allow them to change out the fans unless they quit. The tech came in and played with the fans for a few minutes and told me, "That's all I can do," and packed up and left.
The fan in the bedroom got a small chain on it and the tech played with that. It now goes 100 miles an hour instead of 30. I also had a washer and a dryer. The guy came out here and spent two hours trying to straighten them out. But when the guy from the electric came in, he said, "They don't change these out unless they quit altogether." I said, "Okay." AHS got somebody out here as soon as possible. I talked my sister into getting AHS.

I'm disappointed in American Home Shield. Because I thought that they would pay half or something for me. I've been with them for 15 years. In a company like this, the longer we would be in, the more they should be able to put up for our appliance. I pay 70 something dollars a month to them. I saw somebody that came in August, and they got a new stove, washer and dryer, but they haven't put anything in. That isn't right. When people get stuff, I'm happy for them. However, I thought that when our appliances went bad and they couldn't fix it, they would get me a new appliance. I've been wrong all these years. They need to take care of their old customers first because we're the ones who allow them to get this far by being in the company.
I'm not that happy with AHS because I had to get a new boiler. That was $5,800. They paid 1,300 on it. They put the 200 to it that I had paid for the people to come to my house. So, I had to pay the 4,200 on it. The next week, my water heater went. I had to get a water heater. AHS tried to tell me that they paid on the water heater. But by the time they finished adding up different stuff, I had to pay 600 something dollars to get a new water heater. They told me they paid for the water heater and labor. I don't see it that way. I felt like I paid for my own water heater. Also, sometimes I feel like they could get a contractor to me quicker. It worked out this time. But sometimes I would have to wait a long time for somebody to come, even when I said it was an emergency. I'm ready to get away from AHS. I'm trying to find somebody else to go to.

It's good.” After three weeks, it stopped again. The gentleman came and fixed it. He said, “We're done.” It did not work again. It was the same issue. He came again. He said, “We need to make an order for four parts.” He made the order. I asked, “When is the order coming?” He said it would take two weeks. I said, “Come on, man. I'm not gonna wait two weeks.” He came after a month.
When he did the service, I said, “Okay. Thank you. But you're late.” All that time, we took all clothes to the laundromat. We spent much money. After he fixed it, everything was made good. However, I smelled smoke from the washer and dryer. And the dryer didn't work. It took three turns, but the clothes were still wet. The technician said, “We made everything good. We don't have to do anything more.” I said, “No. We still smell smoke. I'm scared. Maybe something is damaged at home.”
I called AHS. They said, “We're gonna make a second opinion.” The tech did not come. He said he needed some part. The last technician came but he was not experienced. He was not professional. When he tried to fix the washer, the water went to the floor. He made damage on the ceiling. American-style houses are all old wood. I called many times and said, “Forget it about washer and dryer. I will buy a new one." I already bought. I'm not gonna wait until AHS would send me a professional tech. The tech gave me more trouble.

Burleson Services came out recently for a fall check-up. I wasn't sure if I was gonna have to pay for it or not. I chatted with an individual from American Home Shield and he was very helpful. He said I got one free a year. He asked, “Would you like me to schedule that for you?” I said, “Sure.” The tech from Burleson was awesome. He checked my thermostat first, and then he came and checked the unit in the garage. I stood out there with him. He explained stuff to me. He asked me how old the unit was, and I said, “I don't know. I've only lived here for less than a year.” He said a major piece looks almost brand new. He said, "If it goes bad, it's pretty pricey." But he checked and he said, “Everything looks good.” I had already ordered filters. He changed that for me.
I did ask him a question, too, because I had to have an actual service call. It was around April when my AC just quit, and it was because the drain pipe was full. That was a different company, but they were excellent too. In my previous home, I used to always try to put vinegar or bleach down my drain thing to keep it open, but I couldn't find the one on this new house. I asked the tech about it. He said, “Oh, it's right here. It's behind this pipe here.” He showed me how you take off the top, and he suggested using vinegar. He said vinegar was better than bleach. So, he was very helpful, very professional, and very courteous. I've been pleased.
This is the third call I've made to American Home Shield. That was part of why I decided to renew with the company. I really like the convenience of the service, particularly since I'm new to the area and don't know who to call. I've been very pleased with the folks that have come out. The only thing that was negative was that just right after I had sent my check to renew, I got a call from someone identifying themselves with American Home Shield. I told them I had already renewed, and they were trying to encourage me to cancel my check and they said they could offer it to me cheaper if I did something with them. After they said that, I thought it might have been a scam. It made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't like it.

And when I purchased the service with American Home Shield, they told me that was one of their services that they do. So, instead of using one of the usual companies that I use, I said, “Okay. Well, then I'll use theirs.” I used theirs, scheduled it, and the guy came out and did nothing. I told him that our furnace was like 24 years old. He opened the furnace. My husband had bought new furnace filters. He put a new furnace filter in. He had me cut the furnace on because it wasn't on. Now, my husband's like, “It ain't cold enough to be cutting on no heat." So, I went upstairs and cut the thermostat on so it would fire up. I went downstairs.
I said, “Well, I will tell you, one of the issues that we have had numerous times is the igniter goes out in the middle of the winter. And BTE, ‘cause we had the service plan, will come out and service it and give us a new igniter. But sometimes it would take a couple days because they had to order that igniter. So, we would go without heat.” He wasn't even at my house 15 minutes. He was like, “Oh, you’re all set.” I was like, “You didn't even open the furnace up. What did you do?” “Well, I tested for the carbon monoxide. And you don't have that. And you're all good.” Usually, when the other companies are here, those guys are at my house for almost an hour. They go in and take the furnace apart. One time, there was something in it broken. They noticed it. They fixed it, gave me pictures and a report. This guy didn't do any of that.
So, I'm like, “I just need to call back one of my other companies ‘cause I don't really trust what he did.” I did call American Home Shield and complained. I called the company and left a message. I was complaining to a friend who said, “Oh my God. We used them too. And that same company came out. They're horrible.” I was like, “Oh, then I'm done with it.” I didn’t even further with the complaint because I’d never even heard of this company. There's no website. I don't even know how AHS found these people. The guy was terrible, and it was the same tech that came to their house for their AC.
I'm gonna cancel American Home Shield because their people did nothing. I had just got the service. I signed up in September and I said, “Well, I usually have my furnace inspected, ” and that was one of the things the rep was saying that they do and it's $100. It's a little cheaper than Great Dane or Randazzo’s. The rep also said, "But you have to wait 30 days until your plan is in full effect. And then you can call us back before this date." As far as customer service, I called both times to make the recent work order and for the complaint. Without being disgruntled about the complaint, the people were very nice and they assisted me as best they could. The price isn't terrible, too.

For my recent claim with AHS, they needed to replace the faucet on the kitchen sink. It didn't shut off properly and was leaking. When I submitted the claim online, they emailed the details about the contractor and that they would contact me. The techs were professional and friendly. They explained clearly the problem and what they were going to do about it and then they did it. I've been with AHS for 17 years now. There are three why reasons I keep AHS. One is when I wasn't home, my wife could call one company when something went wrong with the house. She didn't have to shop around for contractors. Second, they always sent licensed tradesmen who were competent. And three, they were always quick and responsive. AHS, so far, has kept me quite satisfied. I'll stay with them until and unless there is a big problem.

I'm not good with these things, but he was very informative. We recently turned on the heat and I still hear a noise. I was gonna reach out to American Home Shield and see if they could send the contractor back out and see why it still makes a noise.

I had a claim to American Home Shield about two weeks ago with the air conditioning service and that was just in and out and that was fine. The vendor was fine. I had a claim before that that I disputed. It was for a blocked drain under the sink and they denied the claim based on the fact that there was no access to the cleanout drain. I had my own plumber come after that. He found it. He had to look a little bit, and then fixed it. That was due to lack of diligence of the original vendor. I paid for it, plus the $100 service call that was denied. I've got no update if a request was ever made from my rep, Nancy.

I’ve used AHS for more than five years since I moved to my house. The first two years, it was exceptional. Whenever I called, they immediately connected with their service contractor and they provided the required service. I don't need to call many times because if I call one time, they will make an appointment with their proper contractors. They would call me and I would make our appointment time to come to my place. Then, they would fix it. It was excellent. So, I was satisfied. But this year, even if I request the service, I have to wait a couple of weeks. After that, I would call but they couldn't find any contractors.
There was a leak in the restroom roof in September and I requested the service. Cox's Plumbing fixed not just the leaking problem but also the valve because it is not a combination of hot and cold water. Even if he said he fixed it, it was only for turning on and off. It’s impossible to control the hot or cold water. So, the repair guy said he should completely replace the valve. But the problem is that when he replaced the shower booth, it was impossible to break apart. He had to cut through the back of the shower booth, which connects to the bedroom since the shower booth and bedroom are back-to-back. Now, there’s a big hole that’s almost 20 inches by 20 inches in the bedroom wall. In general, after they make a big hole, they should do a follow-up service. But he just blocked the plastic board temporarily.
I called American Home Shield and one of the agents said that they do not provide any follow-up service to block the hole. I waited a couple of weeks and finally, someone came and blocked that hole. But it was a rough patch so a second service is needed. I waited but nobody called. One month later, I called American Home Shield, and they said it was too late because the request was already past one month, so that issue was already complete and closed. So, I can't get any further services. This is weird because I waited for almost two months and then, they said it was impossible. So, right now, I am seriously thinking about changing to other warranty companies because their service is getting worse. I can't have any more patience with the service. Even if I reached out five times and waited for their service personnel and subcontractors, it didn’t move.
I called AHS many times, and almost every day, and it’s the same. Nothing is changing. I contacted the other plumbers and asked and they answered immediately. But I called the AHS representative and I was told that they left the message to the service contractors and that’s it. It’s been two weeks and it’s still the same situation and I don’t understand. The contractor did not answer my call and I even left a message a couple of times because AHS needs the information from them, but they didn’t call even American Home Shield back. So, I asked the representative from AHS and they could not get any information from that service contractor. AHS’s services must change and upgrade. Otherwise, they're going to lose a lot of customers.
I hate to hear your experience has caused some frustration. I would love to assist with unresolved claims and concerns. Please reach out to us at consumeraffairs@ahs.com so we can discuss further.

A1 Phoenix Plumbing came out for a clogged pipe. It took a long time to get ahold of them and to get somebody in the house. We were playing phone tag for several days before getting in touch with somebody and it was another few days after that before somebody came out. Then, the basic service that they offered didn't work so they had to come back with more tools in a follow-up. They had to remove the toilet and run a snake and a scope. Most home warranties are a pain in the neck to deal with and American Home Shield is no different but they're one of the better companies to deal with. I realize the value or non-value either way. It's there to cover bigger expenses if I have a big item that breaks or needs some attention. But we've probably spent more money in the 20 years on the warranty than we've ever realized in saving. Also, I could never talk to an individual on the phone. I do everything through the computer or the automated service, which is terrible. I hate it.

US Comfort did a fantastic job. The air conditioner was not working at all. The way I understand is I have to have a furnace and an air conditioner that are compatible. So, I had to replace my furnace, too. It started out with some company who was wanting me to send $10,000, which I'm assuming are associated with American Home Shield. I wasn't comfortable with that. Then they brought it down to something like 8,000 and I said, "That's wonderful, but I don't intend to send that money to someone I don't even know who they are." As it turned out, we went from the premium unit to a lesser unit and we got it down to around 6,000. Joe at US Comfort said, "You can pay us." So, I was thrilled because that other did not seem logical to me. There are so many scams and everything going on right now. So, US Comfort went above and beyond to get this taken care of for me and I appreciate that.
In the beginning, I thought my experience with American Home Shield was a farce. I thought, "That's a lot of money. How would I ever recoup all that money?" It became obvious in a hurry when I bought this older home because of all the issues that kept cropping up. So I would recommend it now, especially if you buy an older home. The people that I converse with American Home Shield are very difficult to understand, but that's the only thing.

I was having an issue with my washing machine that wasn't progressing through the wash cycle. I did an online claim to American Home Shield. The information I received when I went online said that someone will contact me within 24 hours. I was contacted by Universal 1 on a Friday afternoon. I was informed that they received my information from American Home Shield and someone would call me on Monday to schedule service. I didn't receive a call on Monday. I called them on Tuesday and they told me that appointments were scheduled based on location, and my location's scheduled days were Tuesday and Wednesday. So, it was already the end of Tuesday. So, they told me someone will call me by the end of business Wednesday, and that did not happen again.
I had to contact American Home Shield to let them know that I was having issues getting an appointment. And at that time, I wanted to switch to a different contractor, not Universal 1. I was told that American Home Shield reached out to Universal 1 and then someone called me on Thursday, October 31st, to come to my home on November 1st. A technician did show up on November 1st. He looked at the issue. He told me they needed to order a part. It would go to them, and then they would call me once the part came in to schedule the repair.

The last one that came here was a very nice gentleman. He's an HVAC guy and he knew exactly what he was talking about. As soon as he got here, he got the problem on the nose, and not even 20 minutes later, the problem was fixed. Now, the unit is better than normal. AHS has been good and when I file a claim, usually someone is able to come within a week. Some of who they contract with have been good as well, but some have been very kind of not so detailed in the work that they do. One time, the glass on my stove shattered, so they sent someone out to come and fix it. The person pretty much just put some kind of oven tape on the sides of the oven instead of really sealing it and making sure that it was enclosed. It looks pretty sloppy with silver tape on the side and I let AHS know about it but nothing came of it.
AHS also sent out a tech a couple of times for the water heater. They had to change the template and there were issues with that. It seemed like that person who came out a few times didn't really know what they were doing with that, so it kept going out even though they replaced the part. Then it was found out that there was something in how the heater was installed that was making that error happen. So they had to come and fix that.
Recently, the washer I had went out, so the techs came and they had to replace it with a new one. The new one that they replaced it with was not comparable to the one that I had, but I didn't want to pay any additional fees for that, so I accepted what they provided. Aside from that, AHS won't repair your toilet if it's having a problem with flushing with a loud noise. However, if it was leaking, they would fix it. But if it's flushing with a loud noise, that indicates that there's a problem somewhere, so that should be fixed too.

I'm generally happy with American Home Shield. Recently, I had an annual check where a tech from Royal Flush came out. It went well but the young fellow put his foot through my ceiling and damaged the drywall. I tried reaching his company but the manager was not being responsive and not helping me fix my roof with a giant hole in it. So, I online chatted with American Home Shield and asked who do I speak to about the damage to my house. They told me to talk to the service company, so basically, American Home Shield wanted nothing to do with it. It's troubling to know that if you have a problem with the service reps they send out, they don't support you at all.
So, American Home Shield and the manager of Royal Flush did nothing other than delay then ultimately tell me that their guy couldn't come, so I should try to deal with the technician. It was about five to six days of I wasn't even sure anyone was going to fix my roof and I thought I had to spend 1,000 bucks on my own just to fix it. At the end of the day, I'm satisfied with how it all turned out. The young worker took it upon himself to make sure I was happy. He got someone out here and he paid for the repair. It looks great and I'd use the young lad again, but I was pretty disenfranchised with the management abandoning their worker like that.

When the spa was not working, Upland Pool came out to service the pool equipment. They did a fine job. However, I'm not impressed with American Home Shield because of another incident I had with them. Last year, I needed my septic tank worked on. I didn't have coverage from American Home Shield and they said I could get coverage for my septic tank so I did and paid more to get that coverage. The coverage stated on the contract that I have a one-time dumping of my septic tank. I was told last year at this time by a septic tank professional that it needed to be dumped in October so I called American Home Shield in November this month.
The guy I talked to on the phone said, "I have to check your contract to make sure this is covered. Can you hold?" He put me on hold then came back and he said, "Yes. This is a covered item. How do we collect the $100 service fee? We can put it on your card that we have on file." I told him that was fine. The next time I spoke to someone, the contractor called me and asked what was going on. I explained to them what was going on but they never came out. I talked to American Home Shield and they said they had received a service request from whoever it was they were sending and they were gonna send them out. They called me and asked me what was going on. The next time I spoke to American Home Shield, they told me it wasn't a covered item, and I am disputing it now.
American Home Shield said that the company came out but I have them on my recorded phone saying that they never came out here. They were insisting that they did, but my husband and I were here all day and nobody was here that day. I told them I wanted my $100 back because they're not providing me any service at all. But they wouldn't give me my $100 back. They gave me a coverage for a septic tank but they say they can't work on it because they can't dig up the septic tank. I don't know if they know anything about septic tanks, but septic tanks are always outside in the dirt. I'd tell others not to get American Home Shield.

He asked me not to flush it for a couple of days so that it was sealed correctly.
When I went back down to flush it two days later, the initial flush, the water didn't go out of the bowl at all. Then I was like, “Well, that was odd.” My husband wasn't here. Then I went back and I did it again, but I held the handle, and then it flushed. That was odd. So, I did it a third time and it went to the bottom and it started gurgling up. Then there was a knocking in the shower. So, I phoned that back in. The people that were in the bathroom up here, they changed the valve in it. But a day later, it's still running.
I was told that the kitchen sink was still under warranty. I needed to contact Delta on that for them to send me a new cartridge. I was gonna get charged for putting that cartridge in. My husband's bathroom is 100% disabled. It had a dual flush. It was still running after they put the valve in, he said the toilet needed to be replaced. When he came back, it was a standard toilet and it had a handle flush.
I called American Home Shield again and they tried to explain to me that they don't have to put back the same manufacturer. I told them, “I'm not asking.” So, we went back and forth. The rep started to read me the policy. When she read the policy to me, it said that it needed to have the same functions. So, I said, “Well, my husband is 100% disabled and he has to have the dual flush.” We went back and forth with that for about four days and then they agreed that they would replace it with a dual flash with the same capacity. I took pictures and even asked them, “Do you want me to send you pictures? I'm not asking for the same company. All I want is the same function. The same function, same capacity.”
I had a hair appointment on Thursday when they came to replace the toilet. The toilet was a dual flush, but it's a smaller toilet. When I got home, my husband said, “This toilet’s small.” He's at 6’2” and 240 pounds. He's 100% disabled and it's too small for him. So I phoned them. When the tech came back, I said, “The toilet in the basement does not flush.” Then he said that it needed to be snaked. He said that probably what happened was when it was not flushing and they changed whatever the flap is in the sump pump, there may be still some clog in the toilet from when it was when the sump pump was broken or needed to be fixed. Then he said that it needed to be snaked. I said, “What do you do to snake it?” He said they would take the toilet off and then snake it. I was okay with that.
When I phoned back American Home Shield, they told me there was a note in there and that they closed it out. So when they came back to change the toilet that did not have the dual flush, my husband asked the tech about that. But he said he didn't say that. So, I called American Home Shield again and said, “The technician that was here says that he did not say that.” But that was what was in the note. I told them, “Okay. So, what I'm gonna say to you is when the guy came and told me that they would need to snake it, he told me they were a small business and they did not do that.” I asked the rep if he was gonna make the arrangements for somebody to clean it and to snake it out and he said that they would make that arrangement.
When I phoned American Home Shield yesterday and shared all that information, everybody was understanding. But the sticky point from them with me has been they don't have to replace it with the same company or a manufacturer. I told that I was not asking you for that. The policy says that it had the same function. So now, in my husband's bathroom, the toilet has a dual flush, but it's a smaller toilet, which is not comfortable for him. So, the part on the basement that needs to be snaked, they are supposed to send a second opinion, of which if that person is in agreement with the first person, then I will need to pay another $100 service fee. I put in the claim on November 4th, and here it is, the 22nd, and the toilet still is not working. It’s cost me $1,525 at this point for at least one of the bathrooms, which was a primary bathroom that was not flushing at all.

Submitting a claim with AHS was very easy. I did it online and paid for it. I had a little bit of trouble getting ahold of the company that was gonna do it. We were playing phone tag. But once I got ahold of them and they set up an appointment, they were out there when they said they were gonna be and did a really good job. Very polite worker. It was just one gentleman. He told me that it's an old unit, but he said everything is working well. He saw some wires that the sun had made the plastic coating brittle and he fixed those. He said it should work good for the winter. So far, I've had a good experience with American Home Shield.

The worst warranty service I have ever had. I have a case open since September for a fridge. Parts have been delivered and their third party keeps not showing on schedule appointment. They keep pushing one more week. American Home Shield will expect you to call 3rd party and own the issue. AHS is the biggest scam. This is my first claim since I have had warranty and with the money I paid in warranty, I could have got a brand new fridge and left with some more money on top.

They never provided any communication confirming my policy, yet they continued to charge me monthly. It took me several hours to identify the business responsible for the charges. When I called to inquire, they claimed that I had an active plan and informed me that I would have to pay a cancellation fee if I wanted to cancel.

I had one of those air conditioner tune-ups because of the way my account is set up. I do it twice a year. Elements came out and the next day, I had no hot water. It was only in the kitchen and I couldn't figure it out. American Home Shield responded but not in a great way because there are no such things as coincidences. As far as I was concerned, it just didn't seem right. They said I’ve got to call Elements. And I said I would. I called Elements and they immediately sent somebody out to me on the same day. When I explained the situation, the guy said it was weird so he checked. He said that he didn't go out to the heater when he came and just stayed inside with my air conditioner. All he did was a tune up so he turned the water on and checked it. There was no hot water and he said I was gonna have to get a plumbing service or get in touch with American Home Shield to have it fixed because it was only in the kitchen.
At that point, I needed to call American Home Shield back and make another appointment to take a look at the kitchen but I got busy with business and I could not call. But within three days, all of a sudden, I had hot water in the kitchen. It was the weirdest thing. It just came on. So, there wasn't any claim. It wasn't the guy’s fault and he was a nice man. AHS is a good service. They cover everything.

For my recent claim with AHS, our automatic icemaker stopped working. An Elite Appliance technician came out and identified that there was a valve that needed to be replaced. He went back, ordered a valve, came back, installed it, and it worked for a few days, but it failed. They were gonna come back and look at it again. They did not come back because I asked for a new date. There was no negotiation with me and they just set it up for yesterday for the return visit and I had to get family to the airport. I'm waiting for them to reschedule to come back and do a second repair on that ice maker.
They don't carry the parts with them. I have to send in the model number and all that stuff. This has happened before on this icemaker and a different company came out and had the icemaker already there in their truck and replaced it right there. It was irritating I had to wait for two weeks after their initial visit for them to get parts and come back. It would be nice if they would be ready to do some on-phone diagnostics with the contractors and come with the parts so I don't have to wait. But I like that they'll come in and take care of it.

For my recent claim with AHS, I had a stoppage in one of the bathrooms. The tub was the main stoppage. The techs came in and were very professional. They were in and out, in 30 - 45 minutes. They also told me what the issue was and helped prevent it from happening again. Everything was also very clean when they left. I had a garage door claim too. I had a spring that broke and the guy came out. I was gonna get both of the springs replaced, but they wouldn't replace both because only one was broken. But I figured if one broke, it was just a matter of time before the other one broke. I didn't wanna have to pay another deductible and have another service call. I would like for AHS to change the policy or even think about changing that policy to get both springs replaced.

SG Heating communicated, and they were fast and efficient. The ice maker still didn't work, but it didn't have anything to do with them. The tech came back out, put a new ice maker in, and it still didn't work. So, he thought it was in the wiring of the fridge. He put in my paperwork to get a new refrigerator. I had a water heater that started leaking and I made a claim through American Home Shield’s website. Colorado Plumbing and Heating was dispatched that day but it turned into a fiasco to get it fixed. The end result was I didn't use the technician that AHS sent because they were engaged in price gouging. They gave me the option to send somebody else out to do a second opinion but I'd have to pay for that one. And if the second opinion was the same, I'd have to use the initial contractor who I didn't wanna use. So, I just took the cash-in-lieu option. I still had to pay about $1,100 out of pocket.
The experience has been good overall. I've had other dispatches and times to use American Home Shield, where I haven't had any issues and I've been very happy with it. This claim exposed a flaw with the company that I didn't realize was there before. I still think AHS is very competitive compared to some of the other companies or competitors that they have. But it has sort of tempered my expectations.

Not all of Home Shield's service people are good, but most of them are. When I get one who didn't resolve a problem, I call and tell Home Shield. It is good that they cover a lot of things, but it would be great to be able to talk to a real person on the phone. Also, a lot of times for replacement value, you get something of very low quality that may not be exactly what you had. So, you've gotta pay the difference. Other than that, Home Shield is worth looking into.

American Home Shield is a good way to protect your home whenever repairs are needed. They're very reliable. If I needed some fixes made, they respond very quickly. My refrigerator and freezer wouldn't get cold. American Home Shield was very helpful. The technician got the thing fixed. There were two technicians that came before him who couldn't fix the problem. But the guy from California was the one who was able to fix the problem. There was a part that he changed and the part was something that required some technical knowledge, which the other two technicians were not qualified to do. It's working now.

I've kept American Home Shield for the appliances. I had issues with the dishwasher and the fridge. That stuff have been good. The stove temperature wasn't working, and it went great. I made the claim. The contractor happened to be in the area, so they fixed it in less than two hours of me making the claim. However, any time I try to get my AC serviced, it has been a disaster. Every person AHS referred either couldn't work on it or would come out and do something fraudulent. I paid out-of-pocket last time because the last people lied. I have a Carrier, which is a bit higher-end unit, and I find every time I dealt with the AC people through AHS, it has been a scam.
The last person actively tried to scam me, and AHS doesn't seem to care about the AC. The guy came out, diagnosed the issue, said, “No problem with the air conditioner.” In the middle of summer. Said, “I'll fix it.” AHS would assign somebody to work on my AC, and I would tell AHS, “It's a Carrier. Make sure you can only assign someone who can work on Carrier. Please don't auto-assign this ticket. It's gonna be an issue.” They say they would do that, but they wouldn't. They don't have any automated way to fix that, so they would just assign eight people in a row until I get to somebody that could actually work on it. It's a terrible experience. Every time they assigned a ticket for my AC, I would have to call AHS back and say “They said they can't work on it.” And they keep going down the list. That is why I wouldn't recommend AHS.
I'd like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. AHS apologizes for not meeting your expectations. If your concerns regarding your claim is unresolved, please send your contact information to consumeraffairs@ahs.com and I'll be back in touch with you soon.

First experience after having bought an older home. Heating tune up for $100 as a perk sounded great. They sent me a list of items that would be done for this 'tune up'. Tech contacted me promptly and got to my house at the end of his day at 6PM 'on the way home'. He was nice and all, but this 'tune up' lasted all of 4 minutes, wife and I timed it. Looking at their site and the email they sent it is very deceptive to give a list of items that include checking the thermostat and cleaning the burners, which I know he did not do. I quote from their site 'this thorough tune-up will be performed by a qualified technician who will: ...(list of 9 items to be done)'.
I called to file a complaint on the phone and in the end was told that there was nothing I can do, they had spoken to the tech and he said all was good when he looked at it so nothing to be done. My furnace is over 18 years old, nothing to be done? You looked at it for FOUR minutes. So I'm out $100 and have second thoughts about getting this policy to begin with or filing anything with them after reading other reviews.
