This whole experience was a complete nightmare. We moved into our new home with the assurance from our realtor that AHS would cover any unforeseen complications. The very first day we started the AC unit we were dismayed to learn that it didn't operate at all. We called AHS and they scheduled one of their contractors to come look at it later in the week. The HVAC guy arrived several days later and told us that the unit was beyond repair and that the whole system needed to be replaced.

Several sweltering days and nights later we heard back from AHS. They refused to cover the whole replacement cost but offered to repair the unit. Given the age of the system this seemed like an exercise in futility. It had leaked all the Freon somewhere and it wasn't ever determined where plus it was past its life expectancy. In the end AHS did agree to pay $800 towards a replacement unit leaving us with the remainder of the bill.

At this point we were two weeks into living here and it's heating up every day. By mid afternoon the house gets pretty warm and really doesn't cool off until midnight. We're hot and miserable and now we're scrambling to find a way to finance this additional cost. Desperate to fix the problem we went ahead with the replacement option and had to get yet another loan to cover this unexpected expense. The warranty was a joke! We were left to fix this ourselves while the seller and realtors took off with their money. Very disappointing to say the least.

Please stay away from this company. First on the list, they say they will give you $40.00 referral fee. THEY DO NOT. They owe myself and a friend a total of three referral fees. Second. I cancelled my contract over the phone three months ago. Incredibly they had no record of this. I called several times and got told they would cancel the outstanding amount. INSTEAD they took me to collections!!!! When I called them about this and tried to speak to a manager I was put on hold, no manager came on the line, I even stayed on hold deliberately for as long as I could, a total of 24 minutes. Also as an after note, when we did need to use their services the technicians they sent always tried to up sell, once stating we needed a new AC unit when the one we had was only two years old. Again PLEASE stay away.

We had a leak in our kitchen from our upstairs bathroom and after I made a claim online to American Home Shield, the contractor came out. He did a great job. He was incredibly polite and he was very knowledgeable about what was going on. He figured it out and explained it to us. He found that it was not an actual problem that they could fix and I had to have it fixed a different way. So far, everything has been wonderful with AHS.

When we purchased our home we the sellers included AHS home warranty. They worked ok when our garbage disposal went out (although we had to demand in-kind replacement and not a cheaper version). But last year when our AC went out, in the middle of the summer in Louisiana it took 3 weeks for them to approve the repairs. A year later and the same people (the replaced compressor was done incorrectly so it’s shot again) and guess what, it’s been 2 weeks and still no fix. Every time we call AHS they tell us it will be another 24-48 hrs before someone will reach out to us, but no one has called yet. We just keep calling every 2 days. We will NEVER get them again.

The contractor that American Home Shield sent was really nice. My washer was messed up and my dryer wasn’t heating, and he was able to fix the issues. He had to order a part but it wasn't long until he fixed everything. It was less than a week. He told me to give him a callback if I had any more issues. Submitting the claim was easy too. I just went online and did it, and I had to pay the service charge upfront.

Usually, American Home Shield has been good. Most of the time, their techs come out and do excellently. However, for my recent claim for my rental property's air system, they weren't. I got a tune-up and the techs said the air conditioner is on its way out. I put a claim in to AHS. However, AHS's reps sounded like they were from Taiwan and the person whom I was speaking with couldn't understand what I needed to get done. I wanted to speak to a supervisor maybe to expedite the situation, but she couldn’t figure it out. I needed the AC fixed asap and she couldn't understand that. She wanted other information which didn't make any difference. So, I ended up canceling it and paying for it myself.

The person who came out for the air conditioner was fine. However, AHS sends people to look at the units and those people always say that they can't fix the issue or they can only fix it if the unit is gonna die. I don't understand why customers have to wait until the unit is completely broken. I've never had a problem with AHS before and I have had many properties with them. Still, this has been a frustrating experience for me because I can't afford to have my unit down for summertime when that’s where I make my money.

I had a bunch of outlets that weren’t working and the contractor fixed them all, but the fuse kept popping in the box. He did a great job, but if I plugged anything into a couple of the outlets, it would pop. I wasn’t able to use the outlets, so I asked for a return visit. He moved a couple of things off that circuit to another circuit, and it has been fixed ever since. I like the contractor and the person who came out. He knew what he was doing, and when he came back the second time, he made everything right. Overall, I would definitely recommend American Home Shield to other people. I’ve been very satisfied with the service.

American Home Shield has a preferred list for you. We went with their contractors who had the best reviews. When our air conditioner was not operating correctly, their contractor scheduled us in as soon as he could which was fairly quick. They found problems with the AC and some parts needed to be replaced. They had to schedule in another time to come back and replace the parts. We replaced the parts. We paid for a check-up then a tune-up. The AC has been very good since the repair.

I saw some frost on the outside of my unit, and so I called American Home Shield. But previous to that, I had the VIP service come, and they said everything was checked out. I hadn't even turned on the system yet because it still was not warm enough to even doing it. And they said everything was in working order. Then as soon as I turned it on when it was sunny outside, it stopped. I went outside. I saw the unit and it has frost on it. I called Greenway, and they said they couldn't get to it until the day they came. When they came, they realized what it was. They put more Freon which cost me a great deal of money, and they didn't say it wasn't covered. They said anything could have happened since the VIP checked it out. It was very upsetting to me. And I told them I needed to speak to a supervisor because they had someone come out and tell me everything is okay. And then when I turned it on, it was not.

The contractor fixed it. He said, "Oh, okay. I see what it is. We're gonna put Freon and two pounds of Freon," and he charged me that money. He said AHS would only charge $210 for it. Last summer, it took all summer until September for them to get this air conditioner running correctly. And I stuck with all summer because they never could get it fixed. And then they finally figured out what it was. They fixed it, but it was September. I won't have that same issue as last year because everything in here should be running. The compressor has been replaced. Everything is ready to go. And then I have this situation. All I saw that he did was put in two pounds of Freon. Then I called them and said, "Listen, I don't think that I should have to pay for the Freon. I had all paid last summer and didn't use it." And they said I had to pay $210. And they're charging me a $100 for the service cost, as supposed to it being a recall.

Home Shield was fine. What they charge is up to Greenway. And Greenway told me that's their charge. And they were not going to change that, give a discount or anything else because that's what it is to them. And I couldn't understand why I couldn't have gotten at least some kind of discount between AHS and Greenway being since I'm on a fixed income. I would recommend Home Shield. The company is good to me. I'm not upset with Home Shield and I'm not trying to ding Greenway. It's just that they're saying because equipment can break down at any moment, they couldn't give me a discount. But as far as them fixing it or coming out, they were excellent.

I put in a request online when I had a plumbing issue. The process was quick, easy, and very convenient. Then I had a short and sweet follow up from the American Home Shield rep. It was to the point. American Home Shield got a technician out within a few days based on their schedule. So it worked out pretty well. The repair was excellent.

There was a hiccup on my last claim. I had to cancel the claim through American Home Shield. I reached out to corporate, and they called me. I never got told about my appointment until the technician called me to say he was on his way. I usually get an email from American Home Shield stating that, "This company has contacted, and they'll reach out to you in the next 24 hours," but I never got any of that. I didn't even know there was an appointment set yet, and I had to cancel it anyway the day before.

I had an over the stove microwave which was quite old. The contractor American Home Shield assigned was gonna come out and they didn't but when they did, they said it was working. I told them the tenant who just left and the tenant I just put in there said it wasn't. It works initially for the first couple of minutes, but then it doesn't continue. They argued with me about that and then, they went out again and said it works. This went on and on. I ended up having to buy a tabletop microwave for them because it got to be such a long, drawn out affair. Then, they finally made the determination after I got Rick, my representative, involved. They made the decision to replace it and that turned into a whole thing about the warehouse and they didn't have it. It finally got taken care of a couple of weeks ago. And this started on February.

I have all three of my houses with AHS, two of them are rentals, and I always use AHS. I've had other experiences with them like with a garage door spring that popped. The guy came right out and fixed them and he was great. So, I was so flabbergasted by this experience with the microwave. It really ticked me off that they wouldn't take my word for it, after all, I have a history with them. I'm not some sort of person out of the woodwork. Also, the communication was terrible. Trying to get through on the telephone to them was a nightmare because it took 20, 30 minutes. They have that recording about how important my call is and I was thinking, "Well, if it's that important, get some more people to answer your damn phone." But it's all taken care of now and they're very patient. Maybe that was the worst that would ever happen.

American Home Shield has been very fair and I'm very pleased with their warranty situation. I called them when my hot water heater was having issues. The water was like room temperature water. I was told I would hear from a contractor within 48 hours. But the first company that they sent to us never called. I reported that to American Home Shield. The first company called and said they would be here the next day but they never showed up. I called American Home Shield in the morning of the fourth day and they had someone out here about two hours later. AHS' part that was in their control was done very well.

The second contractor was great. He was a great communicator and he let me know that something happened personally. His mom came down to stay with him and her dog got hit, so he had to take his mom to the vet. He was gonna be a little bit late after he got the part. He let me know that he was on his way and took care of the issue.

We just moved into this house. We moved from an apartment where all three of us could take a shower. Nobody ran out of hot water. But we were running out of hot water here. It's probably due to a different size tank and a different brand. The technician turned the water temperature up and the temperature increased. I didn't realize that it would be something that simple.

It wasn't even an hour before we got a text from the people who have been assigned to our ticket. That was impressive. We set it up very quickly. American Home Shield has been really responsive when it comes to repairs. We’ve had some negative experience with them where we’ve had to replace appliances. Their process was so long and it took way too long to get through it. But people that come out are all knowledgeable and do a good job of assessing the situation and getting it fixed as quickly as possible. We’ve been with American Home Shield for a long time. We had them in Austin, Ohio and we moved to Oklahoma and a one year contract came with the purchase of the house. I moved in the house and had all utilities turned on and the water heater didn't work. I called AHS and they said they didn't have me in the system, we talked to several agents. My realtor even called with my receipt and confirmation number showing I paid for protection. AHS would not help me, after four days of no shower I called a plumber and fixed the water heater, cost me $1200 when I should have been protected.

This is poor service on their part but I needed to be clean and they refused to pay me back. Warning to others how I was treated here! I now have water pipes leaking from my pool and had to call them again. This time I was in the system so have been waiting for a tech to show up now for two weeks so not very fast service here. This service if you can call it a service is a huge misrepresentation of what is covered if not completely false advertising. The brochure says the heating system is covered but when I called about my chimney I learned that is not part of the heating system. The brochure says the septic system is covered. When I had a problem with my septic I learned only one a specific part of the septic system was covered.

At this point I am considering legal action for the misrepresentation of this coverage. I will not only never recommend American Home Shield (AHS) to others. I will adamantly campaign against others purchasing this so called coverage. It is a huge waste of money. I would compare it to a warranty on a vehicle that in the fine print stated the warranty only covers issues that happen on the second Tuesday of months on a lunar eclipses. Absolutely the worst thing I have ever purchased. Not to mention when you call you never get a person who speaks English.

My elderly parents had a problem with their air conditioner unit in Shreveport, Louisiana. American Home Shield sent a technician to their home. He told them the coils on their unit needed to be replaced and that there was no Freon in their unit. They were told it would cost $1700 to repair. They decided to get a second opinion and were told there was nothing wrong with the coils and that the unit had plenty of Freon. American Home Shield uses companies so desperate for business that they think nothing of defrauding even senior adults. My husband and I had the same type experience in another state. Do not use these scammers.

My HVAC has been broken for three weeks with the issue still unresolved. The first servicer AHS had sent out to diagnose the problem was there for no more than 5 minutes and simply said to put in more Freon, told me that I would have to pay $225 to pump it back up on the spot as AHS would only cover $10/lb of refrigerant while I paid the rest... How could I know it wouldn't leak? Refrigerant is not supposed to leak. It should never have to be recharged. If it does, there is a leak somewhere in the system. He did not diagnose anything further to look into why or where there was a leak. His solution was to simply add in more refrigerant.

I requested a second servicer who then recommended the whole unit be replaced. I was pleased to hear this as our unit is 15 years of age at least, perhaps older, and he told us it was so old that he couldn't even find parts to it anymore to fix it if he wanted to. Despite this recommendation from the second servicer, it has been a week since AHS got the "report" that they have claimed hasn't arrived to them yet. Yet our servicer told us they sent it to them at least 5 times already.

I requested the matter be promoted to a supervisor, and he has been nothing but useless in pushing the resolution along. I have been told I would be called back three times on a given following day, and all three times I was not contacted. I have had to contact them over and over...and over again...and yet, I still do not have my HVAC system fixed or a new one installed. Imagine three weeks in the summer heat in your house with no A/C. AHS doesn't care about you or your satisfaction - all they care about is your money and trying to fix things the cheapest way possible without doing what is the right thing to do for the customer.

I even had an electrical issue a few months ago that just turned out to be an issue with the local power company getting the electricity to the house, but I thought I may have had house wiring problems...I called AHS the day I noticed these electrical issues, and I was told that a servicer would call me the next day to set up an appointment to check it out. No one ever called.

I was charged the $75 service call fee, and I never received any service. Not even poor service. My contractor did not even call me...I had to call three separate times later to AHS to explain to them that no one called or showed up, and I had to call three separate times to get them to refund my $75 they charged me up-front for having done nothing in the first place. I will never be using AHS in the future. I have had nothing but a host of headaches, problems, and unresolved issues with them that I have personally had to fix on my own accord. Don't fall for their customer service bit that they put on. It's one giant scam.

We had an issue with our condensation pump. It was burned out so it was shutting off electrical to the air conditioning unit. I always submit a claim with America Home Shield online and it's good. They assign you someone fairly quickly. They assign the time too. I was gonna be out of town so I had called them to let them know about that. The vendor that AHS assigned my case to worked with me on the out-of-town time. Their technician came while I was out of town and fixed the problem.

I had interactions with the individual that was on the way to fix the unit and there was a slight mix-up on the time. I was down in Florida and I received a phone call saying that he was gonna be about an hour out. I called him back and told him how to get in the house, what to look for, and what was going on. He took it from there. It was very good how he handled the situation. He was quick to follow up, called me back, said the unit was working, there were no issues, described exactly what he had done, and let himself out. The unit has been working great and there have been no problems.

It's a new season and it'shot outside but my air conditioning unit was not cooling. There was a main electrical contact that kicks on and that made the compressor kick on. It was faulty. I tried to file a claim with American Home Shield online but it would not submit, so I picked up the phone and I called the toll free number. I then asked for a specific contractor. I was given a timeframe between 10:00 and 2:00. The technician was right there by 10:20. The one who came was the same gentleman who came out last time and he remembered me.

One of the reasons why I asked for him was because he was very good about explaining what he was doing. I'm a bit mechanical. And because of that, I wanted to make sure that they were doing their job. He would explain things very well to the point where I could have left him here at the house. He showed me the part that he replaced and why it had gone bad. Unfortunately, he had to do the repair in the middle of the rainy season. I had a large patio umbrella that we put out for him to stand under to keep him dry. He lifted it off of my patio, put it there and put it back.

The contractor worked on my AC last year and I assumed that it was having the same problem but it was a different one. Their guy still fixed the problem. The company truly deserves a very good recommendation. They did a great job. The guy was very professional. He had unclean shoes and he wouldn’t even come in the house without putting the little slippers on. I told him he had not even been in the dirt so he could just have his regular shoes on. But he said it was policy. He was very polite, friendly and informative.

My AC has been perfect. I am certainly cool all the time. There are no worries in my household whether or not I would have to come home to sleep in the heat. It's supposed to be about 95 today and very muggy. American Home Shield has provided excellent service and professionalism. I'm hoping that if I ever have any other problems, I can continue to ask for the contractor I used and AHS would keep them as a vendor.

I had a water pipe that bust in the wall upstairs and I needed somebody immediately to fix it ‘cause I had just spent a lot on repairs. The person that came out could not fulfill the obligation as I would've had to wait three to five more days, which would’ve been a issue. I called AHS and told them, “Never mind, I found somebody that could come out and do it that day.” They would not even talk to me about reimbursement. Any other time I’ve called, people come out a few days later or within 24 hours, and they've fixed everything that I've asked them or had issues with.

My Air conditioner needed more Freon because it leaked. It was our upstairs air conditioning. Luckily, it was early enough in the spring and we had some cold nights so we opened the windows. I called AHS about it and they were pretty good. They said a contractor would contact me but in the long run, I contacted the contractor which was not a problem. They were very quick to fit me in their schedule. They got here in time before it started to get hot. The first technician came within 24 hours of talking to them.

One of the guys who came seemed kinda young but he seemed nice. There's just a difference in younger people and older people. Otherwise, they seemed like they knew what they were doing and were very respectful of the cleanliness of the house. They were not traipsing through where our area was any more than they needed to and it was very good. They more or less completed the task. They told me that that they put in Freon that had some kind of sealant to help with the leak. So far, The AC has been perfectly fine.

We were very satisfied. We got help with our problem right away. The one thing that was harder was because it was with the warranty, the technicians had to come in two steps. They had to come and find the problem then I had to call and have them come back to fix the problem. If I were paying out of my pocket, they would've fixed it right there. But I understand now that you can’t just have people do whatever they want with the warranty.

He told me a drain was clogged and he charged me $240 to unclog it. Though AHS's contractors are all right, I think I was overcharged. They explained the fix to me but then they blew air into a drain pipe for $250. I could have done that if I had known to do it. It's ridiculous. Also, AHS gave $10 for Freon but then my Freon was worth $140. Since the repair, I haven't seen water from the AC. Still, there was a lot of misconception on what is covered and what is not covered.

I switched to American Home Shield because they gave us more coverage for less cost per annum. So, even though the co-pay is a little bit more with American Home Shield, it is well worth it because I paid a $50 co-pay with the other company, but my microwave and washer and dryer weren’t covered. Also, it is wonderful that I'm able to submit the claim online without having to call or wait on the line. It is pretty seamless and the third party will call within 24 to 48 hours to schedule a time for the service.

I recently had a leak on the bathtub, and the contractor that American Home Shield sent out was wonderful. When the tech came in originally, he thought he was gonna have to cut through the tile which would not have been covered under my policy. I explained to him that it was an expense that I was not expecting and then he really went out of his way and found another way to go through the wall. He also told me that under my warranty, American Home Shield would even bring somebody to patch up the wall at no extra cost to me. I was really, really appreciative because it was gonna be really expensive.

When he was about to cut through the wall, he told me that technically he was not supposed to do this, but because he had the necessary equipment, he would take care of it instead of me having to bring someone else to do it and for him to come back. He was a very, very kind person and really went out of his way to try to make sure that the issue was resolved at little cost to me and at little inconvenience to me as possible. I was happy with how concerned he was when he saw that I was stressed out about the added cost. I was amazed by him. He did an amazing job and really helped me out.

The leak was in my kids' bathroom so they are happy now to have the use of their bathroom back. The faucet was leaking 24/7 so our water bill gone up exponentially. So now I'm happy I don’t have all the wasted added expenses of having water leakage. I’m really glad that the tech sorted it out because there was no telling it was a defective valve. So, there’s no telling if maybe down the line, it might have just exploded or let two of the pipes exploding and it would cost even more damage to the property. So, I'm grateful to have it fixed.

I always pay my co-pay fee online. When I did an online order to have some work done on my dryer, they charged me the fee but I ended up not needing that service and I canceled it. They told me they were gonna refund me the fee but I haven't seen it come across. That’s the only issue that I have with them. I wasn’t sure on how long that normally takes, but it’s been a while. But overall, I'm so happy that I made the decision to purchase American Home Shield. I love American Home Shield. I recommend it to anyone that is a homeowner because it really does take the guesswork out of those unexpected repairs. You always feel protected. For the most part, a couple of the contractors that American Home Shield has sent have been pretty knowledgeable. When the ball valves were not working properly for the pool plumbing, it took the contractor about 3 days to get scheduled out. There were 2 separate issues and we had to deal with 2 different contractors. The first contractor fixed one issue completely. There were three pipes that have ball valves and he wanted to argue with my wife that all three were working. She had to show him that they weren’t. He only replaced one ball valve at that time.

We did a recall for him to come out and do it again because the ball valves couldn’t be turned without extreme force. I could not budge them at all. He came out and it was like I was the wimp. He was able to get them to move because he was that much stronger in built. He said because he could move them, they were operational. But they still couldn't function ‘cause we still couldn’t move them. That’s when we requested that another company come out and look at the situation. The second company came out and attested that they weren’t operating the way they were supposed to be so they replaced the other two valves.

    Original Review: May 19, 2019

I've had several versions of AHS coverage plans over 2 homes. I say, with zero reservation, that this product is more headache than it is worth (and that includes a *free* plan that came with the purchase of my new home).

    1) Availability of Contractors/Service Professionals - If you're ready to wait up to a week to have a refrigerator serviced, then get ready to spend thousands replacing food. AHS doesn't care about this fact. If they wanted a true consumer product, they'd work with you to match a service professional that has availability related to the urgency of the situation (This has happened 2x now - once with a furnace in the middle of winter and once with a refrigerator).

    2) Selection of Contractors - The business model they choose attracts less than professional service professionals. Three times in my experience, a service company is chosen that is located NOWHERE near where I live and when the technician arrives, they cannot fix anything in the first visit or on that first day. I will balance this by saying that, for whatever reason, when it comes to plumbing related service requests, I always did get solid contractors who did what was needed to be done onsite. NEVER for an appliance or a home system.

    3) Policy - The diagnosis always puts the burden on the contract holder. In my most recent example, a wire came loose on a refrigerator in the ice machine and got wrapped around the ice crusher. AHS claimed that this was my fault and would not cover it. I had no way to know that a wire came loose. I had no way to know that it would get wrapped around the ice auger. I had no way to know it would break. But when I needed them most, AHS failed to answer the call again. I waited 5 days for a technician's first available appointment. He then waited 1 full day to submit his diagnosis (Day 6 without keeping food from spoiling). On day 8, two full days later and WITH NO communication from AHS, my claim was denied. I was told I could get a second opinion with another $75 service fee and no guarantee the decision would change.

    4) Communication - It is clear to me that AHS and OTHER home warranty companies (could be the same with different brand names in different markets, who knows...?) use the SAME customer service and therefore customer service does NOT care if an AHS customer is satisfied. Because they're contractors working on behalf of AHS, you get zero call backs, zero emails. I always have to call back in days after I was supposed to receive a communication. In those interactions, 9 times out of 10, I have to re-explain the issue from scratch.

I will never renew this product and am considering my legal options for my most recent negative event.

I had Cowtown Pools out last year and they were good. Knock Out Pools was really good this year too, so I had good experiences with them. Earlier on, with Home Shield, we had somebody come out for AC issues and it was kinda the whole process of using the warranty company, where they wanna try to do things before they replaced parts, which I get that it is part of the process. It took a while, but eventually the issue was resolved, and the AC is still working great to this day. Submitting claims is usually really, really easy. I just log on and hit a couple of buttons and somebody calls me, so it is pretty simple. I’ve heard horror stories from other warranty companies, but I haven’t had anything bad with Home Shield. The claims process at American Home Shield is a little bit difficult because they need two opinions before they can make a move on whatever it is that you have going on. And that may take another 24 to 48 hours, or a little longer, depending on the contractor's schedule. When I had a claim with the microwave, this one company came out and they couldn't find the door to go on it. But then I had to wait until another company came out and they couldn't find the door. Then they just replaced it. But I had already looked for the door myself with the company that made the microwave, and they said that they didn't have any replacement part for the door. It takes a little longer to get the claim finalized, but it works out eventually, and the contractors have been pretty good. I've had pretty good experience with American Home Shield, and if I had to recommend anybody to the company, I would.

American Home Shield have some great contractors. I called and submitted my claims for the washing machine and refrigerator. Both of the contractors were able to fix the problem. One claim was a bit of a hassle because the tech came back four different times, but he was great the whole time, and everything worked out really well. I also submitted a claim for the garage door and it took two and a half weeks to get fixed. But it wasn’t a big deal. The snow is gone, so I was okay with it. All of them work perfectly now.

I have recommended American Home Shield to everybody, because I had them at my first house, and now, at my second house. I’ve been a customer of American Home Shield for under six years, and they have always been absolutely amazing to work with. If something was rejected, it was a legitimate rejection. They have been wonderful.

I made a plumbing claim with American Home Shield for an injector pump. I do my claims online and the process is easy, but the site doesn’t have the ability to add additional claim for similar type of things. So, if I had two faucets that had a problem, it wouldn’t allow me to put in that there were two. It would just let me check a faucet, and then when the contractor shows up, they’d say, “Well, it’s not on the order.” So, AHS could add that option. Also, I generally have felt the quality of people that have been sent out haven’t been great. So, if I have a bigger project, sometimes I had taken care of it myself versus calling. The contractor that was sent for the injector pump was fine. He wasn’t able to get it fixed, but we actually are selling our home on Monday. So, we’re not gonna use AHS anymore.

When we first moved into our home, our air conditioner wasn’t working right from the get-go. We ended up with American Home Shield through our title company. It was who they suggested, so we just followed their lead and what they said was best for us. And so, I called and I told the warranty company about what was going on with our air conditioner, and they scheduled an appointment to send somebody out.

They sent Texas Best Heating & Air out. I wasn’t home when they came to fix it. My parents were at our house watching our kids for us while my husband and I were out. My dad said the guy was really friendly, really nice, and was quick and efficient, and our air conditioner is working fine now. Apparently, the motor was broken.

It was my wife that mostly interacted with them. She told me that the guy who came was very personable and informative. He walked her through everything. I’m satisfied with American Home Shield. My experience has been very good. I filed a claim over the phone to get my A/C fixed, and it was simple for me. I like to talk to somebody because I can write names down and everything like that anytime we get our call. The contractor from Thermodynamic came on that Monday. I called them Saturday. And then it rained on Sunday all day. I called my insurance company and they put all this equipment in to dry that area out and cut my carpet up. Then he came Tuesday because he had to see what was going on. And then he had to bring what he needed to put up there. And that was when he found out that the switch like AB was to C. It should have been to B.

Apparently, when the gentleman replaced the air unit outside, he found the issue and I had to call the other warranty people that we had and find out what company came to install that air handler. So when the water filled up, it should automatically cut off, but it didn’t cut off. When they put it in, they didn’t have the wires connected properly. So that caused a leak in my home in the ceiling, and carpet, and everything. So I had Thermodynamic write a letter indicating what he found, and I had to give that to my insurance company. Nothing with the A/C is leaking. I’m just waiting for a contractor to come in and do what he needs to do to repair everything that needs to be put back. I like American Home Shield, and I like Thermodynamic. Next time I have a problem with my A/C, I want him to come back because he knows what he’s doing.

I was having an issue with the microwave wherein it stopped working. There was also an issue with one of the burners on my stove that wouldn't change settings. You turn it on and it just had one setting. It goes straight to high no matter what you set the dial to and it would never cut off. It came a little inconvenient. I made a claim with American Home Shield and did it online. It was pretty easy. It had a list of things with the sublist. There was also a part where you could describe exactly what was happening. Once you did that, you pay your $100 fee and hit submit. I got a call from the company that was selected within the next 30 minutes.

The time the contractor came out depended on my schedule. They came out the next Friday because I was out of town. They asked me what was best for me which I thought was pretty great. I told them I would be flying in Thursday night and asked if Friday morning was okay which it was. They gave me a time range of 8:00 to 12:00 and the technician showed up at 8:10. He took about 20 minutes to diagnose the problem and explained that to me which was great. He told me the parts that he needed. He asked me if I ever dealt with Samsung, which is what my microwave is as well as my washer and dryer. It takes three weeks and sometimes a month for parts. I was okay with that.

But by chance, they got the parts in that next week. As soon as the parts came in, he gave me a call and wanted to find out what my schedule was because he already knew that I work out of town. I told him I was gonna be back Friday. He showed up Friday morning again to complete the job and he was done within 10 minutes. And two weeks, you don't get that anywhere, especially with the previous company that I was with. I'm pretty happy with what Home Shield did. Everything is working. It looks normal from when we first had it. I saved a lot of money instead of having to go out and buying something new.

A couple of weeks ago, I had a problem with my toilet and the contractor who took care of it was good. He was very professional. He also gave me a break and I paid him a discounted price to remove the toilet and see where the connecting plumbing was so he can put his scope down there. He had to come back and it was a couple of days, but I understood he was busy. However, he couldn’t take care of it that day because he had to get prior approval from American Home Shield and I’m not happy with them.

American Home Shield gave me the runaround and I asked to talk to a supervisor. It took four days for one to call me back and they found a way to escape by saying they don’t provide access to the problem, that if the contractor required something else, they were not paying for it. To get access, I had to pay my own $375 and I was upset with that. What am I having them for if they can’t approve the guy who looked at our toilet so he can use a scope and see if there was any problem? I’ve been a customer for five years. I’ve called three or four times and every first of the month, they yank my premium, $62 for five years. That’s a lot of money I’ve put in to that place.

In December, my oven broke. I called Home Shield and they sent out Accord Appliance. Accord Appliance came out several times. Each time, they brought a refurbished thing to replace my oven with. So, then they'd take it back, and couple weeks later, they'd come out again. One time, they put it in. It still didn’t work. They came at least the fourth time at that point. All of a sudden, like a week later, the oven started working. So, I called and told them that. It only worked for about a week and then I called them back and told them it wasn’t working again. Finally, the last thing they did was ordered a brand-new part and tried to put it in, and it didn’t work. I should’ve called Home Shield sooner. But I finally called them, told them about it, and they sent out another company who looked at it. Two weeks later, they were back putting the brand-new one in and it works. I went without an oven for four months.

I have had this type of experience with Accord Appliance before, so Home Shield might want to not give me Accord Appliance anymore when I call. They did not answer their phone ever. And the receptionist couldn't care less. The guy that works for Accord Appliance tried so hard to make that oven work, and it just wasn’t working.

Other than that, the contractors were all very nice. And Home Shield seemed to get the people out here. They make an appointment a whole week later and then they come out. And they were just gonna tell you, “This is what's wrong with it. We have to order the parts,” so it’ll be another two weeks. They could speed that up. I know Amazon can get parts to me the next day when I order them, so I don’t know why it takes the other places two weeks to get a part.

I needed an electrician to come out and do some work on my house. The gentleman came out but he wasn't able to fix my problem. I'm having trouble with my floodlight outside. It wouldn't light up at all. The tech never even got up there to look at the outlet, which I thought was strange. He just told me to get bulbs and that American Home Shield doesn't cover bulbs, which I understand. I got some bulbs and put them in. And now, the light fixture in the house, the button that I push to turn the floodlight on and off, it stays on constantly. So I have to shut the circuit breaker off to shut the floodlights off. But they are lighting up. It is so weird.

I had to call the tech to come back because he didn't put the panel back. He left all the wires and the electrical panel in the garage. He just forgot about it. He did come right back and put that on. It seemed like his mind was somewhere else, and he just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. I wasn't impressed with this contractor.

American Home Shield has been very easy to work with. I've had other people that they hired that have been fabulous. One of the outlets with the pendant light couldn't be fixed. So the tech said that he was going to send American Home Shield some information on the cost of a pendant light because it has to be replaced. He told me if I got a new pendant light, he would put it in and he wouldn't charge me for it.

We are currently dealing with our heat pump that went out. It has been not near as easy a process as a couple of minor problems that we had before. The claims that we had for the dishwasher and the sump pump went very well. But it has been much more of a struggle with the heat pump. American Home Shield sent out one company that said the heat pump was no longer viable, so it needed to be replaced.

They sent out a second company for a second opinion who also said it needed to be replaced. We went through a couple of weeks of back and forth with them. We supposedly were all approved with the second company for the heat pump, and then we waited, and they were supposed to call us. They never called us. It was about seven or eight days in a row that we called American Home Shield. They said they were almost there and that they would get back with us and give us all of the breakdowns and everything on what our portion of the cost were. But nobody ever called. The last time that we got a hold of them, they told us that they were gonna send out another company.

When the third company came out, the guy told us that they were gonna repair it. So he looked at it, did not come prepared to even test the system and said that they were gonna replace one of the parts then go from there. American Home Shield told us that that was what they were gonna do and that we were going to be responsible to pay $1,000 for Freon to charge the system. We weren't just having a charge to increase the capacity of the system. They were going to just repair it. Our concern was the guy had not tested the rest of the system and we're gonna pay $1,000 to put this Freon in, and then they're gonna try to make it work and if it leaks somewhere else, then we're gonna start messing around with it every couple of weeks. Somebody was gonna have to come out and start fixing it again.

We finally convinced American Home Shield that we needed to have a new system. They offered us cash-in-lieu of that we could have our own contractor go ahead and do it. The cash-in-lieu that they offered us is $2,500. And the nearest cost that we could come up with from a local person was $5,500. They told us that they would replace the system, but we still had to pay $3,600, which is the cost with their company. We chose to do the cash-in-lieu of and go with the company that was local and less expensive than their company.

Two of the contractors were pretty poor. They did not come prepared and they had no flashlights to even look at things. The third one that came out supposed to have some sort of gas to inject into the system so that they could check for leaks, but he didn't have it. He told us that his buddy had borrowed the canister a week ago. He didn't have the gas with him to check the system and then he determined that it could be repaired without even checking it out. But the person from the second company was very knowledgeable. He went through everything with us, and he was good. We appreciated all of his input. He came out twice to answer questions and to relook at things. But they were coming from almost 50 miles away. Unfortunately, his cost to repair the system included additional labor because they had to travel so far.

It's been a long process and we've been without any kind of heat or air conditioning for almost two months now. The other little things were fine, but when it comes to something major, we will probably go ahead and cancel our policy with American Home Shield after this is done. I don't see a huge advantage to having this home warranty which we were really disappointed. We knew it was an older system and that was the main reason that we had a home warranty in the house. So now, I have to be dealing with this. This has not been our ideal outcome.

I asked if I could speak to someone who speaks English and after they talked a bit, I asked if I could talk to their supervisor. The rep then told me that the supervisor was with another customer and that they could help me. However, they couldn't understand what I was saying. I tried explaining to them and finally, they got it.

The techs who came made sure everything was clean. They stayed again so they could find out the problem but then they couldn't fix it. They said they had to rewire as the hot and the cold air was coming out of it. They told me they were gonna come back and then American Home Shield would call me and leave me a text that the contractors were coming back. They came back on schedule like they promised. Since the repair, the AC has been well. I thought one time that I felt the heat coming out. But then I’ve been watching it closely and I haven't had that again.

The repair has made day-to-day life better. It was hot and miserable where I was. The highest temperature during the weekend is 101. I have asthma, so when the weather’s that hot, I really can’t go outside ‘cause it just feels like I can’t breathe. So, that’s why I have to make sure my air was right. I’ve been very happy with American Home Shield. I am a real estate agent and I refer this home warranty company. I have it on my own personal home and I put it on all my clients’ homes. I had my parents have it on five of their properties. But they were a complete nightmare to deal with for this particular claim with my wine cooler. I kept telling them, “Can you please tell the company you’re sending over that brand of what they’re there to repair so we can make sure they can repair it.” It was a nightmare, but everything’s fine now.

Apparently, the compressor on the wine cooler is out, and so they’re repairing that. It’s still not fixed. But the issue was just a communication breakdown. I couldn’t get anybody to understand what I needed, and I don’t have a lot of time to sit at home for six hours for their window of when they’re gonna send somebody over. It was a long process just to get somebody out there. And so, I was just trying to explain to them we need to mainstream this because this is a problem when I’m trying to refer them out. I have clients that work out of the home. If they’re gonna stay at home and wait for a repairman, that repairman needs to be prepared.

It took two weeks to get somebody that was qualified out to the home. And they were amazing, and they’re coming back because they had to order the part. The other issue was like when I was calling, the AHS reps didn’t speak very good English, and so, there was a huge communication breakdown there. And so, when I asked to speak to a manager in charge, the person I was speaking to did not let me speak to anybody above him. And I wasn’t complaining about him, I just needed to speak to somebody that I could speak to and we could communicate and understand each other, and he did not wanna transfer me. So, that ended up being an hour and a half conversation because he kept saying, “I can take care of you. I can take care of you.”

I’ve had American Home Shield for four years on my home, and I don’t make a lot of claims. It’s just a safety net for me to make me feel comfortable knowing that I have something in case something major breaks, and I have my clients choose the same company. I tell them always to renew. I would still recommend American Home Shield.

A couple weeks went by and I called to check the status of the check. The representative told me that the check would be on its way to my new address. Great. Weeks went by again and still no check. I called in again and a rep told me that the check has been issued and it’s on its way, that it just takes 14-21 business days. Okay sounds good.

Weeks went by again and I called to check in on the status. This rep told me that they actually credited the refund back to the credit card a month and a half ago. The credit card used to purchase the plan was not my credit card, which is why I requested the check when I cancelled the plan in the first place. I cannot go to the agent, who’s credit card it is, that purchased the plan. I spoke with a supervisor on the situation and she was very rude, cut me off when I was speaking, and hung up on me when I asked her to go ahead and speak. Why did two reps tell me the check was on its way when really they refunded the credit card that was not mine? Bad customer service, would not recommend dealing with.

For all looking for a good warranty company. I would caution you on American Home Shield. We've been working on having our Central AC fixed for close to a month. The repair teams x 2 sent out have been unable to fix, even after replacing the compressor and fan. The second company came today, was here less than 30 minutes, had the unit running, left and the unit panel went down again. When you call the company you're can plan on spending 15 to 25 minutes on the phone, usually with a representative I suspect is in another part of the world. I have a difficult time understanding them, and it's like I'm speaking to a robot. I've asked to speak with the Supervisor more than once only to be told I was not able to at that time. Horrible service, service technicians unable to fix systems, and a nightmare for the family and pets. Think twice before selecting AHS.

I had another home warranty company before and they were terrible. They told me they covered everything but they didn’t cover everything. I had a water heater crack but they didn’t cover water tanks and water heaters. I had a garage door spring that broke when I was with my old company and they didn’t cover garage springs, but American Home Shield told me they did but, in fact, they don’t. So, that was kinda shady. Their salespeople sometimes tell you how rosy everything is and then, when you get down to it, sometimes they’re not as rosy as they make it out to be. That’s one “buyer beware” things. But American Home Shield has been pretty reasonable.

My recent deal with the garbage disposal was really simple, and I was impressed. Although the contractor didn't show up on the first day that they were supposed to because their van broke down. It was a pretty ratty van, but the guy did the job. He showed up right on time the next day, put in a new disposal and left. It took him 10 minutes to fix it and he charged me nothing. So, that was good.

I’ve called them for a couple of different things and it seemed like I was speaking with someone overseas. Sometimes, they seem to have some difficulty understanding me, and they never seem to get my address correct even though I tried to correct them on that. So, there's some translation issues there, but they were able to contact people in my area in order to help me get some service providers. I've been very pleased with the technicians that AHS has sent. The person who installed the ventilation under the house left a piece of insulation on the ground and I thought it had come detached. The contractor that AHS sent checked it and was able to make sure that there were no holes, everything was secure and that the ventilation system leads directly to the vents of the house. He was able to reassure me that everything was fine.

They were great. They answered every question, were honest about the assessment of things and didn't try to upsell me on things that I didn't need. The AC is working great and milling away. I’ve recommended American Home Shield to a couple of friends.

He found that there was something wedged in it, and he removed it. He was very professional, prompt and timely. Another time, the contractor had to come back three times to fully set up. They installed a water heater and that was the last big claim that we had since our water heater broke. He fixed something, then it failed and they installed the new water heater. Then the water didn’t heat up and they had to come back again. Now it’s working.

Galloway Appliance, the contractor that American Home Shield sent out for the appliance, was the best company I ever dealt with. However, it was kind of a bad experience with the plumbing company. The plumbing clogged up and the contractor came out. He tried to clear it but he couldn’t. When he was finally able to clear it, a tiny root came out and he took a picture of that. Then, the plumbing clogged back up again a day and a half later. I called and AHS sent him back out, which made me leave work early to meet him there in the two-hour window. As soon as the company got there, they called AHS and said that there was a root. AHS said they didn’t cover that if there was a root and that the plumbing company couldn't do anything. They told the plumbing guys to leave, and the guys did. They could have given me a bill. I didn’t care about going through American Home Shield if they don't cover it but they didn't do that.

I understand why AHS didn't cover it but how they went about it left my family in a bad situation. They left my family without a toilet and everything else to use. It was not a hundred percent their fault but part of it is the way they handled it. I cleared it myself and I didn't find a single root. AHS had nothing but excuses to give me. It was the worst service I ever had in my entire life, and I'll never use them for plumbing again. It’s not even a year that I have been with AHS and probably when my contract's up or when I feel like I'm done paying them, I'll leave them too.

After some examination, I discovered that there was some blockages in the cooling coil and a melted condensation tray that was causing the leak off the cooling coil. So, I contacted American Home Shield and they hooked us up with York mechanical. And they ended up looking it over and deciding it needed a new coil. We also paid them to replace the condenser outside. They were very professional, very timely, and showed up when they said they would.

The process of submitting claims has been easy thus far. As far as when we call in, they usually respond right away with a call or email. And I’ve really got no complaints. We had a previous issue with our refrigerator, and they helped us get that resolved. It had been kind of a mess because the seal on the refrigerator wouldn’t set right. And the folks that they recommended for us came out several times until they got it fixed. It took a while to get things resolved, but they stuck with it and got it resolved. And the whole time, everybody was courteous and helpful. The first guy that they sent out was super nice. He was a young kid, and he just wasn’t getting the job done. And finally, a more senior tech or maybe he was an owner, came out and was able to resolve the problem. So far, we’ve been pleased with American Home Shield. We looked at a number of different plans, and this one seemed to be the best in comparison.

So, they helped me choose and install the right air conditioner, which was very good. The person was very knowledgeable. We submitted a claim with American Home Shield for our dishwasher, and we were contacted first by a person from Sears Appliance, and he said he was the one assigned to us. So, I went over everything with him and he said, “We don’t handle that brand.” And so, he turned it down and somebody said that the other outfit, Optimum Appliance, would be contacting me, and they did right away. The gentleman that came out was somebody that had done something for the dishwasher before. He did a great job. The rack that we had for getting dishes in and out of the dishwasher came off the track. I couldn’t get it back on the track. I tried and couldn’t get it fixed. The gentleman got everything fixed, and it turned out to be a loose screw on one of the racks that runs in and out of the dishwasher.

Our dishwasher has been performing perfectly since he’s been out. Every day we use dishes and every day we put them in the dishwasher, and we turn it on, but we gotta have the dirty dishes sink in the dishwasher. So, having it repaired had a big effect. I'd recommend American Home Shield. Working with them was excellent. I called right away, I got connected and put in a claim for the fix, and I was contacted right away by somebody. Having American Home Shield is an excellent way to make sure that appliances are working every day, and you don’t have to go and try to find a repairman or repair stuff left and right. There’s a lot of ease connected with it. And they take care of an issue right away and get right to the job, and the problem gets fixed.

I needed to have an attic fan repaired and submitting a claim over the phone with AHS was draining. It was not easy because I had to keep calling and wait for a long time. I was stuck at the airport for six hours and four of the six hours, I was on the phone with American Home Shield. Then, when I tried to get a second opinion and tried to get reimbursement, they didn’t receive my invoice and I had to keep tracking. Other than that, the tech they sent out from Wirenut was good and he fixed up the fan. And usually, contractors don’t like to do repairs in the afternoon. They wanna do it in the morning because it will go hot. But he decided he could still do it, so he came and diagnosed it. Then he went to his truck, reviewed a part, and put it back in. Since the repair, the fan has been working.

Unfortunately, this is the only good thing done through AHS. The other contractor I had for a claim on my AC didn’t do a good job. The electrician came in saying he could help with the problem but when he showed up, he just changed one freaking plug and left trash. When I called him back another time, he said that there was nothing he could do and he refused to come back. He said he couldn't reach the line. So I spent $100 just for an adaptor and I’m not gonna use them again. I also have AHS for my rental property and it’s so hard to call for claims with the tenants there. Eventually, we gave up with the repair. The company was not sure if they were gonna have an appointment after 4:00 but the tenant could get home before 4:00. So, they stayed home and took time off, but the techs didn’t show up. I'm quite pissed off about that.

Overall, my experience with AHS depends on the contractor they send out. They call out different contractors for different issues and some are good while some are not. And working with the company takes a lot of energy but if you are persistent enough, you can get the result you want. I have also referred AHS to others and I told them about my determination on how to deal with the company because a lot of times, people just end it there with a bad note.

He couldn't figure out what it was and he said because it wasn’t making a noise, he didn’t know what I was talking about. He couldn't find out what was wrong with it so he did not do anything with the stove. Right now, the stove is working fine.

The microwave was never fixed either. It's old and he told me that he was gonna try to find a part for it. I never heard anything back. The person who came out did not offer any evening hours. They also did not offer any weekend hours which meant that I had to take off from work for the person to come out. I would have preferred a company that did weekend hours or evening hours so I won't have to take off work. Nevertheless, having the warranty is great. It's valuable to have it. You don’t have to pay a large sum of money when something breaks. I would tell others to get American Home Shield. I had HomeServe before Home Shield and when my air conditioning unit broke, HomeServe would not replace it. They offered to fix it and if they couldn't fix it, I was on my own. We’ve reported a number of items to American Home Shield and Express Appliance Services initially came out. There was water dripping on the refrigerator. They said I had to defrost it and they were right about that. For the the ice maker, they said it needed a filter, but they looked at it very fast. And for burner, they admitted that it wasn’t turning on properly but they didn’t need any part for it. They said they were gonna send their guy but they never did.

Then we had a problem with our washer and dryer. We called American Home Shield on that and I also mentioned that Express never fixed the burner. American Home Shield looked it up, and told me that the claim was closed out. In their description, they said that Express saw it wasn’t turning on well, but they still closed it out. American Home Shield put on the washer and dryer with Express. When I got back to Express to try to schedule, they only had something like two weeks later. They were gonna do all five items much later and I was upset to wait so long. I went back to American Home Shield and told them I didn’t wanna do Express. The supervisor from American Home Shield said they were gonna give me someone else that day on the washer and dryer. I was also told they couldn't do anything about the one that Express already came for. So Richards came and that’s the one I’m really upset with.

Express then came to follow up for the burner and they sent the real technician, Martin. The first time they came, they sent someone else who was not really the technician. Martin looked back at the icebox which still wasn’t working properly. He gave more suggestions. He looked at the burner and we went over it again and again. He said it didn’t need any new parts and it turned on. We tested it again and again and it worked.

I wish I would’ve had the washer and dryer with Express instead of Richards because they have been horrible. We’re a family of six without a washing machine and a dryer. Richards came the first day, but they said there was something wrong with the dryer and the washer. They had to order parts. They took forever and ever, and they never got back to us. We had to keep chasing after them and they never gave a clear answer.

Finally, I called American Home Shield and complained about it. A manager from American Home was supposed to call me back within 48 hours, but he never did. Richards finally came back three weeks after they initially came. They said they still couldn’t fix it and they were gonna write a report. The manager from American Home Shield said they're waiting for the report so they can't tell me anything. I haven’t heard from Richards since then, and it’s been a week and a half or so since they were here the second time. We have to go pay a lot of money for the laundromat. My wife is like, “Why don’t we just buy new machines? What are we paying American Home for? It’s horrible. We can’t get our washer and dryer fixed and it takes forever.”

But American Home is excellent for us. If a toilet leaks, they come right away for that. During the second year of our policy five years ago, the air conditioner was broken and they got it right away. We got a new air conditioner. That in itself was a couple of thousand dollars. But we pay a very high premium and for the washer and dryer, it’s a disaster.

It’s hard to get anyone from American Home Shield on the phone. A lot of times you have to wait a long time to even get someone. Once you get someone, they have a foreign accent. It’s very hard to understand them. You also can’t get to a manager. They have a new thing they’ve made now where instead of a manager, they give you a supervisor who doesn’t have any more authority. That supervisor can’t do anything that they have to get the manager, but the manager will have to call you back. So I did the online chat and the guy was very nice. He said they were gonna document all those, then the manager would be able to see it. He documented a long discussion, but I haven’t heard from the manager about it.

Some contractors are very good but some are not. Once you’re stuck with a bad contractor, once they order parts, you cannot get away from them and they can victimize you. The contractors have to be more closely screened and supervised. American Home Shield has to find better contractors. Get them to come quickly and get them to finish the job quickly ‘cause what these contractors do is they come but they don’t really do anything. They grab the job, then they say they have to come back subsequently. Someone in the air conditioning business also told me that he never does any work for American Home Shield 'cause American Home Shield waits 30 days to pay them. So, we might be getting weaker contractors and they are not in a rush to finish it because they’re not getting paid anyway for 30 days. Some things have been horrible but overall, we’re satisfied with American Home Shield.

The hot water heater went out. The tank just did not work. I filed the claim and AHS has fairly simple steps. The plumbing contractor is great but there was an upcharge on the replumbing that wasn't covered so that was a bit frustrating. I called because I didn't understand why I was being charged extra by the plumber and it came to the "It is what is" situation. They explained it, but I still don't understand. When you repair something, it has to be up to code. But I'm assuming that they have good lawyers who write these things that they're not gonna cover a certain portion. It is in the contract so there's not much to say about it. When you buy something, you oughta read it all.

The guy who fixed the stove was fine. The first time he came out, he spent a minute looking at it and said, "I gotta order parts. I'll call you when I get them." He walked out with no explanation or anything. When he came back to repair it, he had a trainee with him which is fine. Everybody gotta learn fast. But his attitude towards his trainee wasn't that good, so I just left him alone with it. My wife said, "He's just a jerk. He can't help it." But they fixed the issue. So far, the quality of the repairs has been very good. The only dissatisfaction I had was that one portion that wasn't covered. I understand their deductibles and all that. I still got the policy, so I'll keep it.

I'm 52 years old, going on 53. The first time I ever bought a car as an adult at 21 was the first time I had experience with warranties. I found out one thing at a very young age. A warranty is only as good as the bad man you sell it to. So I have a very dim view of warranties. My wife conned me into getting American Home Shield less than six years ago and I kept it for about three months. The whole time, it was a waste of time and money and I cancelled. But she went back and got it on her own a while back.

When we first called in, it was on Tuesday and the woman said the contractor would come out here within 24 to 48 hours. Donna told them I had a very severe heart condition. AC is very important around here. They said they would put in an expedited order and have someone call us within four hours. On Wednesday, I got a text from somebody saying they would be with us within 24 business hours. But the way I read that text, it was gonna be some time Monday before they would come. Also, I only had one text but I'm 52 and I don't do text. Donna said that we should call again so we did. We got a lady on the phone and I asked her upfront to get me a manager because I was very unhappy. I told her that she was just an employee and she was doing as instructed but that she had never dealt with people like me.

After that, I was on a call from a woman in Rockville and I know exactly where that is. That automatically perked my ears because that’s not in our backyard. That's probably a good three hours from us. The lady was very nice but I told her there had been a misunderstanding. We're in Clyde, North Carolina, not Rockville, South Carolina. But she said they've got technicians all out in our area and that they leave out from their house so I said okay. They sent us a guy and I can't complain. They guy got the thing going. He was super nice and friendly too. I couldn't ask for better service. It was a little slow the first round getting somebody out here. But the second company did what they say they would do. They were good people.

Our landlord had American Home Shield before us for five years and then, we've been paying on it for almost a little over two years. So, we've had it for about seven years. Both times that I had to submit a claim since we've been paying for it, it was super easy. I called and stated the information. Then, after the initial call, we didn't have to deal with American Home Shield or anyone, other than the person calling to tell us they were coming to work on or replace the appliance. The contractors have all been good and the last one with the washer went over and beyond. The washer would fill up with water, but it would not spin or drain. We worked with it for quite a while, where you could move it just a little bit and we would finally get it to spin but then, it got to where it would not at all and so, AHS sent Sears out.

The contractor came in and he thought he got the old washer fixed and he left. He'd been gone 10 minutes when we realized that the washer was still doing what it was doing before. So, I called him and he turned around and came back. He was here for another hour trying to make sure that we got the problem fixed. He called and talked to AHS and Sears, and made sure that got it completely taken of before he left. He replaced everything on the washer that was replaceable with the exception of one thing that they don't make anymore and so, he thought for sure it was fixed. He came in, he checked it again and they decided that it was just not gonna be fixable, at least, not for less than it would have been to replace the washer.

American Home Shield always followed through with what they said they would do. However, it takes forever for someone to come out. We were without a washer for two weeks before somebody came to look at it and then, another two weeks before he came and found out that we would have to have the washer replaced. Then, it was probably a week before the other washer was able to be delivered. So, it was a little over a month that we were without a washer. It wouldn't have been if he could've have replaced it the first time he was here but they were trying to fix the one we had instead of replacing it from the beginning. Other than that, they did not charge us extra money and they did not give us any trouble with any of those things that we called about. They have fixed other things in our home such as our stove, our fan in the bathroom and our hot water heater. I would recommend American Home Shield.

When I first moved in, I submitted a claim to American Home Shield for rekeying the doors and recently, the refrigerator was leaking water. I submitted a claim online and the website was wonderful. I heard that it took so long to get through on the phone but they said that I just needed to file my claim with my credit card number for the deductible. Within 24 to 48 hours, the contractor, Ace, got in touch with me. It was on a weekend, so it was that Monday. Both the rekeyer and Ace were great. I've read Ace has horrible reviews online but I had no problem at all.

The technician from Ace said that the gaskets around the refrigerator weren't sealing tight which was why I was getting a lot of leaking and condensation in the refrigerator section. A refrigerator came but it didn’t work so, a GE repairman was sent out. The refrigerator was damaged and not repairable. GE wanted me to go through the warranty company but I said no. It was nice that AHS went on a conference call with GE and me, and GE said that AHS bought from them. I've had no problems so far with the warranty company at all. I need a new refrigerator so I'm getting another one. It'll be five to seven days but it is through GE.

My air conditioning unit was heating instead of cooling and during the winter, it was not heating. It was odd. The techs keep telling me that the unit needs to be replaced, but they don't say that to American Home Shield when they call. They just keep coming back. Last winter, because the techs kept coming but the unit never would work, I ended up running my fireplace and turning the heater off.

Recently, I submitted another claim for my air conditioning unit. I did it online which was easy to do and my interactions with the reps of AHS was also good like it always has. But I'm not overly fond of the people who came out, GSSN. They ended up adding three pounds of refrigerant one time at $125 a pound and when somebody else came right behind them, he said it was overcharged, so he took three pounds back out. And for this last visit, GSSN charged me again for four pounds. So, every time that GSSN comes out, there's gonna be something that I have to pay for above and beyond the warranty. But for this last claim, the unit started working, so I was surprised. Still, I have to wait and see what happens when winter comes again.

The whole experience wasn’t very polite and very helpful. But in terms of the guy coming out and doing what he was supposed to do, it was okay. It took him about 10 days to get the part. When he got the part, he came back, fixed it, and I paid him a little over $1000, and that was it. There are other companies that I’ve used in the past, and I’m going back to the previous company that I used at the end of this term simply because the other company is easier to deal with. They answer the phone, they're polite and I get to talk to an American.

We created a claim over a month ago for our AC. After finally getting a contractor out, AHS required a part that would have to be ordered from one specific place that would take 5-7 business days to arrive. Well we’re at 14 days and still no part, per the contractor. Also, there is no shipping info available so we don’t know where it is nor when it might arrive. After speaking with AHS over half a dozen times and trying the online chat for over an hour and speaking with a supervisor, they can provide no help. Just wait until the part shows up. Meanwhile it’s over 84 degrees in my house. No customer care, no help, no service. And even though they are supposedly based in Memphis, all customer service is outsourced so you can’t speak with anyone with the power to do anything. I am seriously considering legal action.

AHS advised me over the phone that my spa pump was indeed covered prior to me filing a claim, and then sent a contractor to my home. Being said, I pursued my claim under that notion. After sending a pool contractor to my home, they in turn advised me that it's not covered, and charge $125.00 without fixing one thing. My dispute is, I would have never spent the money to have had them out to my home if I had initially known it wasn't covered. I asked if pump was covered, the operator stated it was covered, when it was in fact not covered. Instead, they sent someone out, wasted my time, their time, declined my claim under a false pretense, and took my money. I’ve been paying them for years.

I don't feel AHS was, or is being transparent when it pertains to this matter. Moreover, I don't feel it's within their right to take my money under these circumstances. This company doesn’t look out for their customer once they have their money. This is bad business from how I see it. Needless to say, I canceled my contract.

There is a issue with our dryer for last 4 months and it's not working properly and we filed a claim with AHS and they sent their technicians from Anytime appliances 3 times already. And every time they visit they are not able to fix the issue and suggested for replacement. As per their protocol they need to have one more opinion from different vendor (A plus installation) for replacement, and they also came and checked and suggested for replacement.

We have made around 50 calls already and every time we speak to different agents we need to explain them the whole situation and they don't have any answer for that. They just keep telling we need to wait for the notes from the vendor. It'd been 20 days already and they are still awaiting that which usually takes only 24 hrs and they don't take any action for that. It feels they don't care about their customers. They just need money. There is no point signing contract with them as they can't take care of the issue and get our dryer replaced. VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE!!!

Our claim for our dishwasher was denied due to 'excessive amount of grease' according to the letter sent by American Home Shield. We also received a phone call which didn't provide any information. The most important point was that they didn't let us know that we were entitled to a 2nd opinion. I only learnt about this when I called another appliance company and the person informed me about that option.

So when I called AHS for a 2nd opinion, they told me that it has passed 7 days and so I couldn't get one anymore. Why didn't AHS customer service informed me about that option. When I asked the customer service over the phone to send me an email, the person said he couldn't do it. In addition, the pumping department also came out and checked a sink drain that didn't drain well and said that was not covered either due to no accessible ground?? Basically all the claims were denied. I really have no idea on why we purchased a AHS insurance when it routinely denies all the claims. This happens in April 2019, so just last month.

I have never had a negative experience since this event. In fact I have been a client for several years and when my mom passed I moved her house to AHS because of the awesome service. We had the well pump go out. We had no water to the house. We called and were told I had to give them 4 hours to find a contractor before I could call a local contractor to pull the pump. I waited the 4 hours and called back, waiting another 45 minutes on hold to be told that the previous rep had not put in the emergency note. She then tried to connect me with an HVAC system provider. I had to explain it was a well pump, not AC. We were then told we were authorized to bring someone in since they did not have a contracted vendor. We got the work done and then were told that we did not have authorization and would not get paid.

Several months later we finally got authorized for payment. The check was issued 4/24. We started calling about a week later because our mail was getting stolen (reported to the police). We wanted them to check to see if the check was cashed and if not stop pay and overnight us a replacement. Calling EVERY day we still don't have an answer. We were counting on this check for our upcoming vacation on the 22nd. We paid close to $4,000 for the well pump replacement and our refund is $1575. Every rep said they do not have a phone number for accounting. Being in business for over 45 years, I have never experienced such lack of customer service. I rarely file a claim. Up to now, I would have referred AHS to everyone, not so sure now. After over 4 months, I just want this resolved.

My most recent claim with AHS was my refrigerator, the freezer and the icemaker. My refrigerator wasn’t keeping cool. My freezer was freezing up. The icemaker was one big block of ice 'cause it was leaking. The submitting of the claim wasn't such an issue. It's getting the next day to have whoever they have call me 'cause when I put in a claim, I want somebody to call me first thing in the morning. But I wanted to get this service as quickly as possible so I made the call. The contractor said the motherboard was fried, that the fan had ice that was coming from the freezer that was stuck on the coils which was making the motor not work right. For some reason, it was like one big block of ice that I can go in there and ship it out. And the technicians repaired all of it.

The contractors that AHS sent have been very friendly. I've had air conditioning issues, microwave issue and the refrigerator issue and every one of their contractors have been very nice. They even took stuff down so they wouldn't damage any of the things on my stove when they did the microwave and they were very efficient. Never had anybody come back to repair whether the refrigerator, the microwave or the air conditioner. The only thing that I was a little disappointed in was that they didn’t cover our pool heater. They said they would cover a heater but they don’t cover a heat pump yet they cover a heat pump for the air conditioner. That didn’t make any sense to me. But other than that, they were pretty good. I would recommend AHS. We already renewed twice with them.

American Home Shield is pretty good value for when you get into a house, and it's definitely worth having. I generally make claims online and the website is easy to navigate. The only thing I don't care about it now is that they bill you automatically as soon as you put the claim in. This last time, they wouldn't have had the guy come right out if I talked to him on the phone first. But outside of that, I've had a pretty good experience with it. I've gotten people out here in one to four days to take care of the problem.

I had one problem with a water pipe that was stuck up in the house, and I thought it was clogged in the pipes of the washer and dryer. The guy sent by American Home Shield came out here and said he shouldn't fix it because it's a different problem than what he was called out for to do, and he had to run the snake through the road to the drain. He told me they'd charge me another $120 to put in a trap to clean out the pipes for the washer and dryer. But I haven't had any problem ever since. They wouldn't be companies that I'd normally call, but they do an adequate job once they get out here for what the problem is.

However, it wasn’t closing back up. The repair person that American Home Shield sent replaced the pop off valve once and then it didn’t work. So, we had to manually cut off the water heater off until they got here. It was terrible heating water in the pot to take a bath or to wash dishes. The problem was initially, the water line had a hole in it and water was coming through that. That got fixed. The next thing was this pop off valve. So, we had about six or seven visits and we had the same repair person each time. It’s been repaired and it's been working correctly, but it makes you a little bit fearful if you were to leave home for a couple of days or so.

With American Home Shield, it's so nice to be able to go online and call one person instead of having to call several companies to see if you can get the best deal. You know what you're gonna be charged for it. It's such a relief to have that service and know you can count on it 24 hours a day. I submitted a claim for my water heater and the service was quick and efficient. What was interesting was the water heater ended up having a leak. And that required a different work order. So, when I submitted that work order, not only did they have the plumber that had come to fix the leak, but within 24 hours, they had a guy calling me to fix the sheetrock that the plumber had done.

They were so efficient and they thought of something before I had even thought of something. And that's quite rare in the home repair world. I'm a fairly new customer to American Home Shield. So, to see that quality and level of the response to my needs were remarkable. I was a little disappointed that what we called for was for the temperature which was really dumb. It ended up being that we just needed to turn up the water heater. But it is a 20-year-old water heater. So, I thought something was wrong. And then, I had to pay for the second service call for them to fix the leaky pipe because the plumber said, "Well, that's not part of the service call." But it was still cheaper to pay the service fee twice than it would have been to pay for the plumber to come to fix the leaking valve. It was all good when it was all said and done. I had already have recommended American Home Shield.

We had our ac checked through AHS to see if it's good once it's summer. They said it was gonna be this rate, but if you got two separate units, it was actually double, which was fine. I understand, but I wish they would have said that before. But they were nice. They said, "Your AC is fine," which most people who have come out say, "Well, you need this, "You need that," and "It's gonna cost you this." That guy was at least like "Looks good to me," which is pretty rare. I appreciate AHS.

I've lived here six years and probably each year, I've had to do Freon at the beginning of each summer, same scenario. The units are getting older and American Home Shield continues to band-aid the situation and not do full repair or replacement. They’re just going to just keep re-dispatching and continue to add Freon when there’s a deeper problem below the surface. I prefer to submit my claims online and outside of the AC, I've had several done this year. The AC is my biggest problem and everything else has been more than satisfied.

I called in a claim when I had a lot of electrical outages in my outlets and wall outlets. The claims process was easy. The only thing is some of the American Home Shield representatives' English is not always that good. Sometimes, I also have to wait on hold for four minutes. Sometimes, they put me on hold for a while because they have to try to find somebody to service me. Most of their contractors had been pretty good, except for the one that’s coming out again today for something different.

I had an AC unit that went out last Saturday and I requested somebody to come out as soon as they could. But with American Home Shield, they said they couldn’t get anybody out for several days. I told them that wasn’t acceptable because I had two grandkids and both of them use inhalers. They do a lot of coughing if there is not enough air in the house and it's extremely hot. AHS found me a third contractor. When the third contractor came out a few days ago, they said they’d have to replace something. They warned me that it might take several days before they would receive the part. But the part was in stock so they were sending somebody back out yesterday.

I was given a window between 12:00 and 4:00. They called me around 3 o’clock but the person never showed up. I never got a phone call, a text message, or an email. I had to call them back around 5 o’clock and I also emailed and texted them. This is the first time such a thing happened. I’ve had American Home Shield since I moved into my house in 1997. I don't always use them all the time but I make my monthly payments. Now, I keep hearing there are other companies out there that are better than American Home Shield.

We had our locks rekeyed through American Home Shield. We submitted the claim online and their website was super easy to use. They assigned Black Lock to us and the tech who came out was great. They said that he could come within a couple of days and he did. Our locks were unexpectedly old and they don’t make them anymore, so he went out of his way and found these special keys that he didn’t need to rekey them. Then, he had to come back for a second visit to complete it. So, we were really happy that he was able to help us with that because we thought we were going to have to replace all of the locks in our entire house rather than just have them rekeyed. He was a personable guy.and everything has been good since then.

When I turned on my central AC for the first time, it would blow on but it wouldn't come on at all on automatic. And in either way, it wasn't cooling. It was just blowing hot air. I submitted a claim with AHS on the phone and got hold of somebody very quickly. I was really surprised. I called and left a message, then they called me back within an hour and had somebody out here the next morning. They sent out Reep's Air & Refrigeration and the technician was wonderful. He said it needed a new thermostat and he put in a new one. He also checked the Freon and fixed the unit. It took him 30 minutes to do everything and he was polite, well groomed, and seemed to know what he was doing. I had a great experience.

I have AHS for three years now and this is the first time I've had to use the warranty. But it's nice to know that when it's there, it works. I'm also not easily impressed, but my experience with them was very nice. Initially, the reason I came with American Home Shield was because I had a problem with my former warranty company. I couldn't reach them and when I finally got them on the line, they would never return my phone calls. It was for a claim on my refrigerator and I had to have fixed. It happened four days before the holidays and finally, about two weeks later, they called me back. But by then, I already paid for my own refrigerator repairs then I changed companies. So, I was really pleased when this happened with AHS. I was anticipating a problem and there was none.

He was able to detect the issue immediately and he also looked at the hardware of the garage opener. He then put in a new one and made sure it was working properly before he left. I had to get off work early to be there for the technician but the repair definitely helped in making sure that my car is inside the carport and safe at night. I can also have the garage door locked. Anytime I have an issue, I can either very easily get it resolved by booking online or calling the automated system. Or if I had a question about coverage, there’s a human I could talk to. I might’ve called three or four times in the last five months, so it’s been good. Their customer service reps have also been great and the techs they sent out have been fabulous, which is hard because I have a plumber that I like. But when we go through the service, we have to use who they send, so I’ve been really pleased and I appreciate the professional service from them. When you have a problem, American Home Shield charges $100 just sending somebody to look. 8 out of 10 times, they just get $100 from you and say that the issue is not related to them and you have to take care of it yourself. They’re just finding a way to deny you, and they don’t tell you when you call them that they charge you $100 ahead. I was charged $100 for the garage door and the contractor said that I have to pay him $400 for him to personally fix it. So, I got somebody else who charged me $80 and fixed the problem. I called AHS for the garage door. First of all, it was unethical from them that if this job is not related, they charge me. Second, the subcontractors are crooks and they purposely deny you to get the private job from you. They should at least return my $100.

AHS has sent a few people. I had a downdraft oven which was broken and they sent an installer who spent 30 seconds and then told me that I have to change it, and then left. I paid $100 for that and when AHS took a look, they said they didn’t cover that brand. They came up with some other brand that did not fit the hole that I have. The whole thing cost me, if I wanted to buy from the brand that needs to be replaced, $2,500. So, they went to the cheaper brand that was not a fit to my system, and including the drawers and installer, they gave me $1,200 and said they wanna have proof for that. I went out of pocket and paid the one that I know fits there. I also paid privately an installer. So, I haven’t gotten one penny back from AHS and they charged me $100 to tell me all this nonsense. I am very dissatisfied.

My experience with American Home Shield wasn't bad but the company that came out here didn't do too well. The heater in my pool went out so we couldn't use the jacuzzi. It was too cold. I waited until the next day and called American Home Shield. They had United Contractors Incorporated but they couldn't come out for a week. When they came out, the guy went back there then he said everything was okay. So we tried the pool again but the water didn't get warm. The heater still didn't work. So I called again and the same company came out. But of course, I had to wait for six days for them because they got the thing about my claim from American Home Shield on Monday morning and it took them a couple of days to get here. They had a guy come out and he said everything was fixed.

Then on Monday, my wife and I were sitting here in our backyard and the pool was on. I went out and stuck my foot in the pool and it was about 99 degrees. Whenever the filter would come on, the heater would go on. So for the last four days, the heater had run for eight hours a day. So my gas bill is gonna be outrageous. The last guy that was here did something. I told the lady at United Contractors that I would be calling them again when I get my gas bill. She said they would take care of it. But if that hadn't worked I would have talked to somebody else in that company.

They also called me yesterday, wanting to set up a date for the guy to come out because the part was in. They had to order a part and the rep said they would have everything done the next Thursday. But I said no, that this was a mistake and that they had been playing around for a long time. So this guy came out this morning, went back there and said the last technician had left the on button on the inside of the little box on the electrical panel. He told me it's gonna work now. It's on a standby so whenever I turn it on, it would come on. When I turn it off, it would turn off. But I haven't really tried it yet.

This company sent three different technicians out here. The first one came out and didn't do any good. The second one came out and didn't do any good because he had to order a part. Then a week and a half later, I called them because it still wasn't working and they sent the same guy out. He said he put the part in and everything was fine. But then the guy came out today and he says it's fixed. That aside, I've never had a problem with American Home Shield or the people they've sent out until now. We've been in this house for almost 16 years and we had American Home Shield prior to coming here. So we've had it for almost 20 years now.

The heater in my pool went out one other time and when the contractor came out, the guy had to redo the interior of the heater. Out of curiosity, I asked what it would cost me and he said $2,300. At that time, $60 was all I paid. It has gone up to $75 but I understand that. We also had a clogged toilet once and we couldn't get it to work. We had to call American Home Shield and they sent us a plumber. He went in the bathroom and flushed the toilet then he came out and said it was okay. It had been filled up with toilet paper down in the line somewhere and all we did was wait three days so it disintegrated in the water. When he flushed it, it just went down. American Home Shield has been fine. I got my money's worth.

I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield when the AC unit kept tripping the breaker. Initially, Interstate Energy wanted to come out on the same day that I put in the request. But I wasn’t available on the timeframe that they were allotting me, and there wasn’t anybody home. That was on a Friday and the next available day I had was the weekend. They don't contract out on the weekend so the next available time was Monday after 3 o’clock.

The tech was here in less than an hour. He was thorough, explained what the problem was, and fixed it. It was working fine when he left and the next day, but then we had another issue. Around 3:00 on Wednesday morning of the same week, it did the same thing where it stopped cooling. I went outside and noticed that it had tripped the breaker again. So I called American Home Shield at 7:00 in the morning, and they sent Interstate Energy back out. But again, they couldn't come until later in the afternoon. When they came, they said there was a new motor in the unit, and that the breaker had to be replaced in the outside breaker box. So they had to send out an electrician, which then didn't happen until the following day. The electrician came and the AC has been fine since then.

Our house came with its own insurance vendor but I didn't wanna renew with them. My coworker told me that I should swith to American Home Shield, so that's what I did. But my experience with them wasn't good. My slab leak recently and I saw water coming up from the floor, so I called American Home Shield on a Monday and the plumber came out on Wednesday. The plumber said he couldn't do anything. It looked like a slab leak and he needed to send over their specialist. I called the guy there and he came out on Thursday. And within 10 minutes, he confirmed it was a slab leak. He told me that there were two options, and how much it was gonna cost me, and that there was a cap. I called my insurance as well because he said they might have to cut through my floor. He said my home insurance should cover the other portion.

I contacted the actual home insurance that came with the house when I purchased it, and the rep sent someone out. I’ve been calling American Home Shield back and forth to see what was gonna happen. My insurance sent someone to do the repair and they still haven’t reached us. I was told by some of their reps that it was with the authorization department. I called two days later and someone said that the plumbers haven’t submitted their diagnostics. But this was already three weeks after the plumber came out.

We were shutting down the water because I didn't want any damage to my house. We were only turning it on for about an hour a day and I was living off of buckets. American Home Shield is amazing for when an appliance is out. But if it is something a little bit serious, I would not go through them. They did not help me. I went somewhere else to get the work done. After I got it done, someone from American Home Shield reached out to me and told me that they finally received the diagnostics. I told the rep that there was a big difference between the plumber that they sent and the plumber that I paid to come to my house.

American Home Shield sent out Casey Plumbers and the plumber was there for 10 minutes. The testing that he did for the slab leak was different. He took out his little headphone thing, only walked into one of the bathrooms, and he told me that the leak was in the bathroom. But the plumber that I paid said the leak was actually running under one of the bedrooms. The pipe was there, but the leak itself was not in the bathroom. And Casey was talking about breaking into it. He told me they were gonna make a hole to reroute it in the entry hall. But my plumber said he didn't understand why they would have done that rerouting that way since the pipes were actually in the bathroom.

When I was calling to find the status of my claim number, I kept on getting different responses. Another thing is that they are outsourcing to somewhere in India because all the representatives that I spoke to have an Indian accent. There's a language barrier and you can tell they're reading off a script. It is very frustrating for me.

Henson Heating and Air Conditioning came out the other day and I thought they were gonna be servicing, but they did more like a mini-service because they just said American Home Shield doesn’t cover routine maintenance. So, I ended up paying $75, and they just checked to see if everything was okay. And then, they sent me a bill that if I wanted to have a complete service, it would be 150 bucks.

I called American Home Shield to file the claim and gave them my credit card. The claims representatives were very nice. They unfortunately really didn’t explain the whole details of what I would be getting. I thought it would be like a total service job and I wouldn’t have to be worrying about doing other things. But according to the guy that came out, it's workable and if I wanted a real tune-up, it would cost 150 bucks on top of my 75. So, I was disappointed. I probably won't use them again. I feel like I wasted $500 and some for getting them. I ended up not getting everything done and it's workable, I can use the product, which is my air conditioning system, but it still needs to have a true tune-up done. It was more of like a mini-claim. They sprayed it off with water. They dusted it. They checked to see if there was enough coolant in it.

Other than that, the contractor was very nice, although when he got here, he automatically slapped the sticker on my unit as if now he owns it because that is gonna stay. He didn’t ask me if I wanted it on there. He just put it on there. So, it's one of the things that’s going to be coming off my unit because I won't be calling him back.

It isn’t difficult to set up a claim or to have somebody come down here. There was an episode where I was told that my outlets would be replaced because they were damaged. I put tape on each one that had to be replaced because they weren’t working properly but the contractor that came never said that they were only going to replace five. So, I paid $75 to have the plates put on, which I could have done because I've been putting plates on for years.

The inside unit was what was damaged and I wanted them replaced because I have to use a machine at night. The plug was not working. So, that didn’t do me any good. I called back more than once and AHS said they would reach out to them, but they couldn’t get a hold of them. That was in two separate phone calls. Nobody ever reached out to me as far as sending them back or anybody else back. So, that was never resolved.

Another incident was last year when my smoke alarms weren’t working and they were going off by themselves in the middle of the night. I have insomnia, so waking up at 3:00 in the morning, I wasn’t getting any sleep at all. When the contractor came down here, the guy said that one of them or a couple of them weren’t working. So, he was going to come in and get them replaced. Then, I got a call from AHS and said that it was working. So, there was a conflict of verbiage there and that was a waste of my $75. AHS sent somebody else down and they said that there wasn’t anything wrong with them but I wound up paying anyway. So far, that issue has never been resolved. When there's smoke in the kitchen or anything it is supposed to alert you, they still don’t go off. These two incidents were very important and it was part of the contract that they were supposed to replace those, so I'm not satisfied with that.

I had an issue with the boiler and I didn’t have heat. I filed a claim with AHS online and it was super easy. Then, the technician came, checked a few different things, found out that that wasn’t it, went to the next step and found out that I needed a new pump. So, we called American Home Shield to make sure it was covered and they ended up approving it. The tech fixed the issue and he was great. He kept me informed on everything he was doing and checking. He was also telling me how things work.

Then, I ran out to do an errand and when I came back, he was getting ready to leave. So, he just updated me that everything was all set and when I went down to the basement, the basement was cleaner than when he went down there. All in all, the company that AHS sent out was unbelievable and since the repair, the boiler has been working great. I’m so happy I purchased the warranty and I’ve told friends about it. I just bought the house and you never know what you’re buying, so it was really good to have the extra coverage.

American Home Shield's website was great. As soon as I ordered the service, I had confirmation and someone contacted me. But I was given 24 to 48 hours to expect the contractor to come out and they didn't show up. It was about four days before someone came out. The second contractor was Bear Plumbing and Rooter, and they were actually really professional. They turned up the next day, within 24 hours. But I was really unhappy with the job they did. They put the rooter through, put it down for about one minute and said it was blocked. Then they said that because of the blockage, the drain has to be dug up and replaced to try and find out where the block is.

They said it was gonna be a lot of money and it was not covered by the warranty. So they left. They quoted something like $8,000 to get it fixed. But it was wrong. After they left, I got someone local and they came with exactly the same thing. They put it down and within five minutes, they’ve cleared the blockage. And I had to pay that out-of-pocket.

I had a bad compressor in my air conditioner, and it had to be replaced. American Home Shield requested a new compressor, and Piedmont came in and replaced it. So, everything went smoothly. We started off kinda bumpy with the contractor because they didn’t have any available date, and I had absolutely no air in the house. But everything got resolved.

I did the claim over the phone. Initially, the customer service at American Home Shield was great. I don’t know who dropped the ball here, but when I called and I spoke to the lady about scheduling the time for Piedmont to come out, she told me she called Piedmont and they were gonna call me back. But when I called Piedmont, they seemed to indicate that nobody had called them. So, I’m not sure if they’re getting too many calls that they didn’t know who had called. But it all worked out at the end. And American Home Shield was responsive.

He was the owner of the servicing company and that morning, I got a call from his office telling me that they would be out early since they knew I had to leave for my doctor's appointment. I didn’t have to wait all day on the repair or worry that I couldn't get home in time. The tech was very kind. He took a lot of time and got the work done. Everything was perfect after he left. It wasn't fixed so, we were gonna reach back out to him and let him know. Although I’ve had some challenges, the whole experience recently with Mates Electric was very positive. In the past, I had some problems with the company called Sundance. They were sloppy and did not come when they said they were going to or they were three weeks out and couldn’t come. So, in general, it was a negative experience and then, they didn’t fix what they were supposed to fix. So, if there was one contractor I’d recommend to replace, it would be them.

Our water pressure is basically down to zero in our master shower, but in our other five bathrooms, it's totally fine. He said that there was nothing that he could do. That, to me, does not sound like a professional outcome. I paid $75 to have that opinion laid on me. I'm not plumber, but I'm certain that something can be done whether it's ripping out all the plumbing and starting over. Now they're saying that they have to have his final report, which I guess, that plumber is not sending in so that they can have a second opinion done. So, I'm sitting here waiting for him to do that. This has been going on for a week and a half now.

I had an issue with my ceiling fan. I submitted a claim to AHS and then, they sent someone out within 24-hour timeframe to fix it. The guy that came out originally was supposed to get there between 9:00 and 11:00, and it was 11:00, I came here so I called him. I said, "it's 11:00 and you're not here." He said he was on his way. I said, "A phone call would've been nice. I shouldn't have been calling you." So, I put a little comment thing when I messaged them.

Then, the same person came back the second time, but he got there earlier the second time. As far as his work, he was great. He explained everything when he got there. I have wood in my house and I asked him to put the little booties on that I have on my front door, and he put them on, no complaints. So, everything was great. I called AHS a few times to upgrade 'cause first I just had them on one of my properties and then, I called them to add it to another of my properties. And I also called in to change my card information and do a few other things, and it was pretty good customer service. I highly recommend them to a friend.

My problem with that is I had to pay him $399. The garage door opener is working fine now. But I wasn't expecting to have to pay that much. At the moment, it stops. There's a ceiling with the poor person on the phone who has zero empowerment to do anything. When I really have a problem, they're useless. We've had a heat pump issue that had been persisting and we had second opinions. The individual contractors were okay but what I find very frustrating with American Home Shield is their lack of response when I escalate an issue, particularly if I ask to speak to a manager on the front line. I get zero response. When you press them, they'll say, "Well, I don't know if they're available, but I'll let them know," and I never get a response. So, I'm not happy with that aspect.

Our water heater was leaking and we couldn't use it, so I had to file a claim with AHS. I called them and they put me in touch with the vendor. The rep I talked to was very good. But AHS sends part of their work to other countries, so there are communication issues. You have to keep saying things over and over and they don't seem to understand what you're asking for when you get someone who speaks another language. It becomes frustrating. But other than that, our issues were resolved.

Our microwave also had issues which had been going on for a while, then it just stopped working correctly. I submitted a claim with AHS for that and everything was resolved in a pretty quick manner. There was the matter of getting the part but in a week and a half at the latest, the repair was completed. That claim was handled very efficiently. We also filed a claim for our refrigerator. We had an issue with it and we eventually wound up getting a new one. But we had to keep calling AHS because it just kept having issues. Since the replacement, everything has been fine and there has been no more issues.

Other than that, I've referred people to American Home Shield though I don't know if they had gotten it. But whenever a friend of mine or someone tells me that they're going to get a house, I always tell them that they should get a warranty and that they should get American Home Shield. We initially got AHS when we purchased our home in 2004. Unfortunately, in 2009, we had a house fire, so we had to cancel the warranty because our house had to be rebuilt. But in 2011, we came back home, so we got it back again in 2012. Since we've been with them this last time, we've submitted between six and 10 claims, and out of that, only three were bad experiences.

I’ve got a stovetop that’s only a few years old and I’m missing a burner. There was nothing that we did. It’s worked perfectly, but all of a sudden it wouldn’t light. We tried to light it manually and it didn’t work that way either. So we called AHS and this man came and said it was because there was an igniter missing. But he had to take off the burner to put the igniter on. He tried to do it and gouged out a little bit of the enamel on the stovetop. And then he said he didn't have the right tool and he would be back in a while.

He came back a week later and worked on it for another hour. We ended up having to empty out an entire drawer underneath the stove with all our pots and pans in it so he could get underneath it if he needed to. He played with the stovetop but couldn’t do anything to fix it. He said he’d get back to us because he couldn’t take off the burner to replace the igniter.

He said he would have somebody call us, which nobody ever did. So, when we didn’t hear from anyone, my husband started calling B & M and nobody has ever called us back. And he figured, he didn’t wanna be unfair to them. He’d wait until tomorrow and give them a chance to call today. They don’t answer their phones I need my stove. I have four different burners and this is the largest of them and the one I would use most often. I pay 800 and some odd dollars a year for American Home Shield. If that isn’t gonna work for me, then I need to not do it anymore.

We’ve had American Home Shield since 2004 when we moved to South Carolina. We had it in our old house, we’ve had it in this house, and they have been nothing but fabulous. And now for a week and a half we’re just sitting here with a broken stovetop. But in general, I am very pleased with American Home Shield. I’ve always been satisfied with what they did. Some of their contractors take forever and aren’t always the most competent, but in the end, everything always gets done. It’s just that you have to wait for it.

I would not be without American Home Shield because it’s a lifesaver. You can have an emergency anytime in your home and a lot of people don’t have that type of money sitting around. Repairs are very expensive and if you don’t have coverage like that, getting the plumbers or the electricians to come out and do work for you is even more costly. I’m really pleased with American Home Shield and it's more affordable for me to do it this way. The warranty is all the way around perfect for the homeowner to have. Before I bought this home, I didn’t really think about home warranty. But this home came with home warranty and I’ve been on that ever since. It worked out perfectly for me. When my children bought houses, I told them about it so they have it as well.

I had a home inspection done and they found the leak in the water heater. I called American Home Shield to file the claim and the reps were very good. I had dealt with them before and they did everything I asked them to do. I’m actually gonna be selling this home and I wanted to move that warranty with me to my new home. I had no problem with that either.

Two people from M & E Plumbing Services came out and they were courteous and very knowledgeable. They did their job and they did it rather well. It didn’t take them a long time to do it. It has a leak but the pan wasn’t wet. It didn’t have any water in it. The water heater works and I have good hot water. In fact, I didn’t know there was a leak until the home inspection was done. So the technicians really had to look at it and find out where the leak was coming from. They found it and fixed it. They had to replace a pipe fitting in there.

Aside from the water heater, the toilet upstairs also kept flushing by itself so the technician fixed that as well. There was something wrong with the valve and they replaced that. So it’s working now. The one downstairs wants to flush by itself now too. So it should have been added to the ticket. If it isn't one thing, it’s another one. But I didn’t have that problem then. I had the problem as soon as they left. So that’s over $75 that I would have to pay. Nonetheless, the service M & E provided was good and professional.

We had some slow drain and AHS had it fixed. The process was relatively straightforward. They did a good job, said it was controlled and kept us informed. But we had a second call. It was for a built-in microwave and that was really a hassle. We ended up going out and getting one, and they were supposed to reimburse us. We’re satisfied with the amount. We paid $75 for the appointment. But the process took eight weeks because they said they needed three or four weeks to issue the check. And it took them about 10 days to decide they weren’t gonna fix it. So, we were without the microwave for almost a month and we decided just to go ahead and get one.

It took a few days for them to come out, which is understandable. But we weren’t notified after that, that they were going to give us an offer. Then I had to call back several times to get that in the works. Also the company that came out said that they would call us, but they didn’t. It just got dropped. So, I gave them about a week to get back to me. There was the weekend in between.

So, the concern is, we had company coming which arrived yesterday. It would’ve taken them 10 days to get the new microwave to us and then we’d have to make an appointment to have it installed. So, to be without a working microwave when you have company and you’re used to one, I think that that process was way too delayed. They had told us that day and given us our options. But I was on the phone, one time, I was on for about an hour with them and that was about the third or fourth call. They were helpful in making us the offer, but it didn’t come till almost a month after we reported the microwave wasn’t working at all. So the appliance repair, with A Plus Appliance, was not handled well. I had furnished them pictures of the microwave, but they couldn’t find the model number. So, I understand that they couldn’t repair. It was an older microwave.

If it was the refrigerator and it took that long, we would not have survived. And that’s why I’m not renewing American Home Shield. Some things were good, but we’re not interested in the delay. If something isn’t working and can’t be fixed, we don’t want to wait till they make a decision after the first repair. But for people who don’t wanna manage the money end of it or like that structure, AHS is probably okay.

It was definitely easy to file a claim over the phone. It was for the heating and air conditioning. The only complaint I have about it is I had a programmable thermostat, a rather expensive one, and what they replaced it with was a basic thermostat. Then American Home Shield said that I was basically stuck with what they gave me, which was kind of unfortunate because I just renewed my service. If I had realized that it was like that, I wouldn’t have renewed it. I would’ve gone with someone else. It would seem to me that, if you’re warranting something, the warranty would replace it with what you had, not with something less than what you have. But that aside, the contractor and the service were fine.

The service at the end, where American Home Shield sent someone out, was not charged though because they'd had a technician there less than a week earlier. But I keep getting emails from them telling me I owe you money when I don’t owe them money. I contacted them twice and they told me that that was correct. That was supposedly removed and yet I’m still getting emails telling me that I’m seven days past due.

We had an issue with our AC and we filed a claim with American Home Shield. They found out that a part had to be replaced. So, it took some time but, eventually, they got it fixed. So, we are okay with their service. At first, we were assigned to one contractor who didn’t do their work. They set an appointment but they didn’t show up. And then, we called them back and nobody picked up the phone. I complained about that and then, AHS assigned another contractor for us, and that later one is much better than the previous one and they finished their job. So, we’re happy about that contractor. They scheduled the work, showed up on time and gave us information. Although they charged us some extra fee which should have been covered by the policy, which we understand, and it was okay. At least they got the work done. But I think if AHS could, they shouldn't qualify unqualified contractors from their list to make their customer more happy.

    Original Review: May 15, 2019

I thought when I purchased the AHS special service for my AC it would have been the same pre-season service that all AC companies provide. Unfortunately it does not. Yes, I should have read the email of what was excluded, but I took the title at face value. The title should have read LIMITED Pre-season Tune-up. They charge $75.00 and for a few dollars more I could have received a complete pre-season tune-up by going to any area AC company. The most important item missing from the AHS special is that the lines are not flushed. So now a week later I’m paying another $100 to get this work done since my AC has stopped working.

Before, when I submitted a claim for my dryer, I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to do what they were supposed to do, and in the end, Home Shield didn’t do that. The first person they assigned the claim to said they couldn’t come out for two weeks. The second person came out the same week and said it needed a part, and then I never heard anything for several weeks after several phone calls and hours on the phone. They weren’t able to get the part, and they said they could just pay me the cost of what the parts and the repair would be. They said they’d send me $100 for that.

In the meantime, I called the repair company, got the numbers of the parts, and fixed the dryer myself. I still wanted them to refund the $100 for calling the repair service but never fixed my dryer as well as get the $100 back for the parts. They kept giving me the runaround and never responded to any of my phone calls. I might be on hold for an hour before I talked to somebody who ended up hanging up on me. So, I was pissed. I had them reported at the Better Business Bureau and they were hippity hoppity on it. They gave me the refund on my credit for the service call and sent me the check.

On the other hand, the reps were great this time around. My oven was out and the gentleman who came to fix it was kind enough to note the other appliances that weren’t working, like my microwave and my dishwasher. He could tell the make and model numbers of everything and said he would help me look for parts. I called over the phone to add the other appliances to the original claim. Even though they were not able to find the parts, both the microwave and the dishwasher were replaced.

I’ve had American Home Shield out for numerous things and each time, the experience has been good. The contractors they send out are really good. A contractor is a contractor. You can’t assume that all their personalities are gonna be good but their work ethic is good. So that’s a big plus.

Universal 1 Repair did great service for the gas oven. It wasn’t igniting and I submitted a claim for it online, which was very easy. The contractor sent out one person and he looked at it. Then they had to order everything and a second person came out. The gas oven is performing fine now but it took two people two times to come out. One person told me that it was a gas issue and to call UGI which is our gas company. So I did but when the gas company came out, they said I have adequate gas supply. Then the second person who came out said they needed to send a third person out. I didn’t have an oven for almost a month but they did not stop trying to figure it out.

They were very prompt in sending out Advanced Home Services and their tech was very nice. AHS covered everything but he wasn’t able to do anything. He said it was an old unit and it was gonna make noise. But then I had someone else come out and paid the fee out of pocket. He did some things up there to help lessen the noise. The fridge was not working and two of the gas burners were not lighting up when turning on the gas. The dishwasher was not properly cleaning the dishes and there was also some issue with the microwave. The fan goes on like turning and the panel never turns off. We have to unplug the microwave and that's how it will turn off the fan. I filed a claim and the guy who came to repair repaired the fridge. He said that he had to order parts for the burners because he had to replace all four burners. That is now fixed. He replaced the touch panel for the microwave. He also replaced the plate. The microwave seems to be working right now. For the dishwasher, he did not see any problem in that when he ran it. But we see that sometimes, the soap is left on the dishes. It's not always working properly. Also, I had to come home multiple times because all the parts were not ordered in time. The claim was not done in one go.

With my most recent claim, I wanted my AC checked up for the season and I submitted a claim with AHS online. I did that on a Saturday then on Monday, I heard from the company they assigned to us. The techs were great and they gave me a time frame. I'm kinda in the middle of nowhere, but they were able to give me a window of when they would come then they showed up during that time and gave me a call before they came out. It was just an annual maintenance on the air conditioner unit and so far, the work is holding up.

I was satisfied with my experience but the contractor that AHS sent out came from Mesa, which is 40 miles away from me. And I prefer to use someone in Maricopa, where I live, because there are plenty of AC people here. I’d like them to use more local vendors or suppliers. Other than that, AHS reps have treated me well in the past. The company that they were going to send out didn’t show up, so I called back and got a different company.

I submit my claims with American Home Shield online, and I think if you have multiple things happening, you shouldn’t have to submit several different claims. For example, I had an issue with my dishwasher and my garbage disposal. The site should let you relate claims, so therefore only one company has to come out versus having four companies come out. The contractor who came out for my dishwasher was great. He did what he was supposed to do and he was very courteous. I would use him again.

The guy that did my garbage disposal came in here and he told me, “Oh, yeah, this isn’t covered.” He explained what happened and said that the little wheels in the bottom weren’t working, so therefore he’d have to get it fixed. But then he submitted something completely different to AHS who then won’t even accept the claim. Why would he tell two different things? And that’s not fair to me. While he was nice and friendly, on time, and amenable to my scheduling, he came in my house, charged me $100, and told American Home Shield something completely different to what he told me, and now I have to go pay another contractor to come in $100. It will not be through American Home Shield because now I’m mad. And there’s no point in going back and arguing with them because they’re gonna say, “Well, we’ll just send him back out again.” I don’t have time to get off work 100 times.

We also had issues with the dryer. The guy who came out misdiagnosed it. He said there was nothing wrong with it. And he’s like, “You just unplug and plug it back in.” For the 10 seconds he was here, it was working. And then right after he left, I came to find out, once you run it and it gets warm, it would blow out. I had to pay another $100 for another guy to come out. I’m not gonna donate my life savings to American Home Shield when I can just go and pay $100 for a guy to come out and fix it, which I’m doing. I’ve paid AHS $600 a year, plus I had to pay another $100 for the dishwasher guy to come out, a different $100 for the garbage disposal guy to come out, and the garbage disposal guy won’t even fix it. The dishwasher was repaired through AHS before, which is dumb too. It doesn’t make sense. It’s just a waste of money.

The original contractor that AHS sent out was horrible. He said there were certain things wrong and had parts ordered. When the parts came in, my husband left three messages for him. They never returned his call. I called American Home Shield six different times, spoke with supervisors who assured me they would call me back by the end of the day or by the end of the following day. But they did not return my calls, refused to send a different contractor out because they had already paid this contractor and paid for the part. I said, "Not my problem. He's obviously not returning your calls. He's not returning my calls. You need to send someone else out." That's when I called the Florida Consumer commissioner.

At that point, I called American Home Shield back and got a very kind and wonderful person who sent Cooper Appliance out. Cooper Appliance was great. I still had an issue with the dryer. What's ironic is that I am gonna need to call American Home Shield again because the washing machine is really what our issue is because it's not spinning the laundry dry enough. So, we can go through the normal cycle in the dryer, and it's still very, very damp. And so, we just thought to throw another spin cycle on the washer and then it worked just fine.

I had another experience with American Home Shield. Our air conditioner died. Friday, 5 o'clock I called them. I live in Florida. It's pretty warm here. They don't expedite service unless it's at least a 106 degrees. The contractor they work with is two hours away from us. So, we went without air conditioning all through the weekend. I spoke with their contractor, Integrity Air Monday morning. The earliest appointment they had for us was Wednesday.

Fortunately, they had a cancellation and they did wind up coming out Monday. However, if there was a part that we needed to fix the air conditioner, American Home Shield orders it, has it shipped to Integrity Air, and then they schedule to come out and fix it again. So, essentially, we've got this home warranty that if there was a part needed for our air conditioner, we would have been without air for at least a week. They do not have a good network of contractors, and they do not expedite anything. If you got a problem with your appliances, good luck getting it fixed in less than a week.

I have a rental property and my tenant told me that there was something wrong with the air conditioner. I called AHS and had an appointment set up. After the techs came out, my tenant told me there was really nothing wrong, that they just needed to adjust something, and everything was fine. But while I was overseas, I got an email saying that the techs were gonna be out on Saturday. Then, I got a couple more emails and one of them said something about having to pay for Freon if it was over $10 or 10 pounds, but nobody has really explained anything to me. Still, I'm satisfied with AHS. I've had them for a long time and they're pretty good about sending people out when they're supposed to and they do a job. When I have a claim, I usually give the contractors my tenant's phone number and have them deal with them. And if there was a problem, my tenant would’ve let me know.

The single-car garage door wasn’t working. So I went to the home warranty website online and it worked well. The contractor replaced the sensors. That took two times. The first time they came out and it did not work. So I had to resubmit and it still was not working because it was an intermittent failure. When they came out the second time, they replaced the sensors and now, it’s working. I'm well-satisfied. There was good communication and they provided good service. I would recommend AHS.

I put in a claim for an air conditioning and heating unit with AHS. The service I received was good. In fact, it came out according to the deal. The other people who did the installation did a good job as well. Since then, everything’s working like it should and I was very happy with my experience. They did what they said they were gonna do and everybody was nice and easy to work with.

I contacted AHS for a service request. I had two lines to clean out and one line leak that needed to be repaired. I made the service request, AHS deducted the fee and said an authorized contractor will be contacting me within 24 hours. That was on a Friday, so I waited all weekend, knowing I probably would not be getting a call on Sunday. Monday am rolled around and no call came from American Plumbing Solutions, LLC. So I called them, hoping this was just me being a impatient consumer, who paid for a service in full so I can just play the wait game. I see how you make your money AHS. After 3 phone calls I finally spoke to a live human, who BTW acted like she could care less about my service call and why I was calling. After explaining to American Plumbing Solutions that they had been selected as the service provider for this, they had no knowledge of my issues, only had a work order number, with two lines to be cleaned and one line that leaked.

Now here is where I fault you AHS, why can't you just pick up the phone and contact American Plumbing Solutions and tell them what the service call is for, in depth. Not just a work order? Also, educate your service provider on proper communication to the homeowner. Pick up the phone and call to find out just what the problem is so you can prep your staff to have the proper equipment and materials to perform the job contracted to do. Simple plan you would think. I have since reviewed BBB and other sites and this service provider, American Plumbing Solutions has over 8 registered complaints against them as well as several from Yelp. You might want to take them off of your preferred list.

American Plumbing Solutions, this is for you, if you really don't want to provide your services to AHS, do us consumers a favor and just back out. If you are so damn busy you can't call me back nor stay on a job to complete it don't do it. I realize you don't make any money on this type of service call, really, then why do it, chase more profitable work. After paying for a service and you don't get what is expected you tend to be a bit pissed and not willing to work it out. Also, you might want to put company markings on your vans, but maybe that is indicative of your service, you don't want anyone to know who you are and you aren't to proud of who you are! Come on man, be a real business and plumbing solutions business or get out of it.

AHS has been really easy to work with and submitting claims with them has been very easy. The online part is very well user-friendly. It's real good but if I have an issue, I call them. Recently, I found nine quarts of water in my exchange tube or the air return tube. When the condensation fills up, there's a drain from the bottom of the AC that drains out into outside. Apparently, it was clogged. The AC guy unclogged it and everything's good. I've been keeping an eye on it. Plus, he suggested to put some solution down there every month to keep it clean and free cause we have a lot of bugs and geckos. I periodically check it to make sure there's no water where I put the solution in and make sure there's water on the outside tube. So, that means it's doing good.

The AC guy was amazing. He went above and beyond what he was supposed to do. He kinda explained to me my systems. So, I thought it was very nice. That's why you build word with people around here. They care about what you have so when you have an issue, they want you to call them back. They want your business. And he's definitely earned my business. He helped me understand what I have and what I need to do.

On the refrigerator one, there were two different guys. The first one who came out found something that has to do with the wiring that they rigged in a different way. So he ordered the part. The second one came and fixed it, and it still did the same thing. They said there's a 90-day or a 60-day warranty, and if something continues to happen, they can come out for nothing. But I don't know about the refrigerator. I'm still getting that popping noise whenever I shut the door. It's like the compressor is popping, but they assured me that there's nothing wrong with the compressor. They really didn't fix what I called them originally for. They found a different problem and fixed that, but not what I called for. I'm thinking of calling somebody else, not them, because neither one of them could understand what was going on. They also tried to charge me $50 to clean my coils and I don't have coils in there.
