My AC/furnace completely lost power about two weeks ago. I called American Home Shield and the contractor came out and fixed something but the issue happened again for several days recently. So, the contractor came out again, and it was great service. The tech was here on time, and he was very friendly. He replaced the control board and then left. He did a good job. It is working great since he left.

After making an online service request, which was very easy, an AHS contractor was out within 24 hours for our air conditioner that was not cooling anything down. Kemph Heating and Air Conditioning was our designated contractor for the claim and they were over the top. I didn't have any high expectations just because in my past experience, people who do HVAC work were just always so busy. We’ve had some bad experiences with others. But Kemph came out quickly. They were friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and got the task done. If everybody worked that well, the world would be a better place. They were incredible. Our air conditioner is stellar and working fine.

American Home Shield is pretty good. I've used them several times and each time, I had no problem. I do my claims by phone because sometimes I like to ask questions. I like to talk to a live person just in case I have a question. When I did, their reps answered them. It's been an easy process. AHS would have somebody out in a day or two. My experience so far has been pretty good. When we were having a leak on the bottom of our air conditioning unit, AHS sent out South Cooling. They came out and said it was the pipes that were leaking so they put some new pipes in and sealed it. It was like good as new. Mostly everybody who AHS sent out has been professional. They come out, tell me what they're going to do, and do what they need to do. They then sign off on the work order that they have and give me a receipt.

The faucet in the shower broke and submitting the claim online was extremely easy. The representatives were nice and they were professional when they arrived at my house. I have no complaints. This was the third claim I’ve made with American Home Shield. The only good experience I’ve had with the contractors was for my washer repair. Billy’s came out and did the repair. They didn't try to say they needed to modify this or that. My air handler was a totally different experience. I ended up going out on my own and getting another company to replace it at a more costly repair. It was the same thing for my shower.

My house is 14 years old and it isn’t a very old house. The companies are always saying they have to modify the hot and cold water. That’s just an assumption. They told me that it was $400 out of my pocket. I called and got the cash offer, which was $140. It cost $100 for the part, just to replace the faucet because I’ve already priced the part and I already had an estimate before they came out. That total estimate wasn’t even $400 for the repair. Some of the contractors know the contract language and they know what American Home Shield will reimburse them, so they come up with these modifications to carve out a payment that the customer has to pay, which is unnecessary. If it was a 30-year-old house, a modification would need to be done. Also, another plumbing service that came out told me that a modification does not have to be done. AHS contractors are taking advantage of the customer.

When I moved in, the outlets were working fine. And in one of them in my master bedroom, I had to keep resetting that little push button on the bathroom outlet. I did that for a while and it was working. And then, it got to where that didn't work. So, I thought I needed the outlet replaced altogether. So, I called American Home Shield and set up an appointment for that, and they sent someone out from an adjacent town. He fixed the outlet and didn't take too long. Submitting my claim with American Home Shield was easy. The particular electrician who came was very kind and caring. Before I took out the Home Shield, I had an electrical outlet installed in my front porch, which I did privately and that electrician was very rude and condescending. I would never ever use the services again. And I was almost a little bit paranoid. But this person sent by AHS was very polite and very professional. My experience for my claim was very well taken care of.

My most recent claim with American Home Shield was very good. The first time, I did it through the phone. It was quick. But the second time, I did it online and it worked very well. Once I submitted online, after a few hours, I got the appointment for the technician. It was for the next day, so everything was really quick. Both of the times, the claims were for our AC. I got the same contractor and the same technician. He fixed the problem and my experience was positive. I like it a lot and I’m happy.

The AC/heating unit broke down. AHS had to get the folks to come out and work on it then, they had to order some parts. It took a little bit long for them to get the parts and that was two weeks ago when the unit broke. They said they would have the parts and be back last week. When we called them, they said they didn't have the parts in. But when the person called me back, we were told that they did have the parts. It was just that they hadn't called me yet. I can understand that things get mixed up but when you're without air, it kinda puts you on a bind for two weeks. At any rate, the guy came back out and fixed it. The unit is working well now and everything is good. Hopefully, it will still be because I know it's gonna be extremely hot this weekend.

We've also had a couple different companies come out. One company had two guys come out and they were here for two different days. The first day they were supposed to be here in the early afternoon and it was 6:00 when they came. Then, they said they couldn't fix the problem which was in the upstairs air unit. So, they had to come back and they said they'd be back the next day. They said that they needed to cut something but since they went up in our attic, I had a friend of mine come over here to double-check and he said that they didn't need to cut anything.

When the techs came back at night again, it was a real inconvenience because they didn't tell me the correct times they were coming. They said they'd be here before 4:00 and it was 6:30 when they arrived. It messed me up because I had to take off work to be here and wait for them, so I spent a whole afternoon off where I could've been at work. I talked to them and told them about what my friend said and they said that the only way they could replace something was to cut part of my beams up in my attic, and they did. They did a temp fix which I don't think was the right thing to do because that might have messed up the structural integrity for the upstairs. But I did stress to whomever I talked to when I recently needed somebody out that I didn't want those people coming back. They had a plain van and they didn't introduce themselves. They didn't have IDs either and I didn't like them from the get-go.

But this other outfit that AHS sent out, they have been coming from Carthage and they've sent three different guys out who have all been very informative. They put little things on their feet when they came in and they've been very nice. They also explained everything in detail, unlike those two guys that worked with that other company. They've been really good and I've really been pleased with them. I know it took them a little while to get the part in for my last claim, but I understood because they didn't keep those certain parts in stock and it wasn't one that you could use on various units. It had to be a name brand because of that type of unit. Our unit is a Trane and it had to be a Trane part, so they had to special order it.

Other than that, we've been happy with the service. The delay on the parts was not AHS' fault and they were sticking by what they were gonna do. They were getting people here and would contact them. They may have fell short with the first people that they sent out here but you're always gonna have someone out there who isn't gonna be as good as others. We've also had to use the warranty not long after we bought the house.and it has really helped us. It has saved us some money as well and I'm praying that nothing else will happen. But we feel safe that the warranty is there to help us if we need it. As a matter of fact, we referred my sister to AHS and she just got a thing through them.

American Home Shield has not been sending the right people out here to do the job right. I had an issue with my refrigerator and I called them. The contractor came out three times. Every time they left, they said it has been fixed. We have a ministry and we use this freezer in the garage because we feed the hungry. So, we keep it for the meat and when Thanksgiving comes around, we use that to feed the homeless. When the contractor came out the first time, the guy left and he said it was freezing. So, they turned the freezer on and put everything back in it. Two weeks later, we opened the freezer and all of the stuff was thawed out. So, I called the contractor back out. They said it needed a compressor. They came out and put that. When I asked if it was already okay, they said everything was freezing.

Before yesterday, the contractor came out. I opened the door and everything has defrosted. I told my wife that the contractor told me they fixed it but it wasn't and so, we lost a whole lot of more food in it. I had to clean it back out. I told AHS that I didn't want this contractor to come out any more because they don't do that good a job but they sent them back out again. AHS sent someone out yesterday and it's supposed to be fixed. He said he couldn’t guarantee it because it's an old freezer. If they couldn’t guarantee and they couldn’t fix it, they should let me know whether it needs to be replaced. I keep on spending money by replacing the food that I keep losing. I told my wife that we're gonna have to check every day and make sure it's still freezing because they told us that last time.

American Home Shield referred me to a plumber who came out to my house. There were two toilets and two bathtubs on the ticket. With the two toilets, the plumber said he fixed them. And he couldn’t fix one of the bathtubs because it wasn’t covered. I called back two days later because one of the toilets wasn’t fixed. And he had told me he replaced the guts on those toilets. The point is when you have a toilet that’s running all day right after the plumber’s there, you call the plumber back and say, “Hey, whatever you did didn’t fix the problem. I don’t need to be charged another hundred-dollar service fee. The person's response to me when I called them back two days later was, “Well the plumber that was already at your house is fired. He no longer works here. And we’ll have to get somebody else to come back out.”

She set another appointment. I took another day off work. But nobody showed up and I couldn’t get anybody on the phone. And then when I finally got somebody on the phone the next day, she told me that she’d send somebody back out on the next Friday, which, again, never happened. So for two times, I sat home and took a day off work. I work an hour away from my house so I can’t just take a four-hour window and hop in whenever I want to work.

Not only were they unprofessional and didn’t fix the issue, they set appointments and never showed up, and do not even create any resolution to the problem. And then I had the owner calling me and texting me back and forth and saying, “Well you could have just told me.” And then he wanted to tell me through the text message that whatever the problem is, it’s not covered. He wanted to diagnose it through a text message. I just stopped. Now I know why this plumbing company has an F rating. And I’m trying to figure out why my warranty company that I pay would have me work with a plumber that has an F rating and all these complaints.

When I warned American Home Shield, they said that the only plumber that they’re gonna be able to send back to my house is the idiot that didn’t do the job the first time that I can’t get anywhere with. So at that point, it feels like AHS have half-** contracts with half-** plumbers that rely on those half-** contracts. So they don’t care. I paid AHS to make my life easier, not make it harder. They had absolutely no suggestions or a fix of any kind. When I called them and told them what I was going through with the plumbers, sorry was all they got for me. If that’s what they have then I don’t need it. I’ll go find my own damn plumbers. I’ll go find my own contractors. So now that I’ve actually used the warranty, it sucks!

American Home Shield is great and the plan is wonderful. I thank God for them because we wouldn't have been able to afford some of the repairs that we've had over the years. So, they have truly been a blessing. I've been with American Home Shield for 16 years and I tell everybody about them. I recently made a claim for my refrigerator, dishwasher, and dryer. Sears came out and they did a great job. It took three weeks to finish because I live in the middle of nowhere, so they only service here once a week.

They had to order a part for my dishwasher, and the gentleman had fixed my refrigerator, but when he left I had a hose blow on it, so I ended up having to call. When they came back out, they had the part for my dishwasher and dryer, and then he had to do what he could to my refrigerator and order a part for it. We had to wait another week for the refrigerator. But it wasn't a problem. I was pleased with everything all-around. Everything was taken care of.

My interactions with American Home Shield's vendors have been straightforward. I asked if they could have their people call before they get there and they always did. So all of them seem to be accommodating. I've had American Home Shield for a couple of years and I'd recommend them. I have it on auto-pay each month and the renewal will be almost transparent. I wouldn't see it because unless we say stop, they're gonna keep going.

My most recent claim was a continuing repair on a washing machine and dryer. That was a couple of days ago and that was the third visit because the contractor had to order parts. But we got the same guy each time so I didn't have to explain everything all over again and Ulysses, the fellow from Accord Appliance, was really straightforward. He was a great tech – very polite and professional young man. They were able to repair the dryer and see the fault. Since the last repair, the dryer has been drying as expected and the washer seems to no longer have a missing feature on it after the circuit boards were replaced. I also had an inspection of the refrigerator and they've asked us to take a step and call them back if the issue if still present.

The claims submission process with American Home Shield was pretty simple. My wife put in the claim online and then we were supposed to receive a call from the first contractor's support person. But the lady wasn’t responsive and we ended up having to call her. A few days before the first person came out, we had some storms and the lady was saying that our water heater issue was caused by the storm. But how could all this corrosion be caused over a weekend? So we got a second opinion. The guy came out today and said that was silly. So this second guy was awesome. I knew American Home Shield contracts out some of the services and other than my entire family taking cold showers or just putting deodorant on since last Saturday, it’s been a good experience.

The only negative has been that although the contractors' support folks were responsive when we called them, they were not proactive. We ended up having to call the second plumber as well. But that aside, he was very professional and personable. He opened a couple of things up but he didn’t really make a mess. Then he said we would need a new water heater but he's gonna go make some phone calls and get back with us.

Nobody wants to go into a new home having to need their warranty this soon. We’ve only been in this house for almost three months but we were thankful that, since the issue was the air conditioner, American Home Shield was really fast in getting somebody out there to help. Our only complaint is that they had a couple of our information wrong and that almost cost us the warranty. Somehow, they had the wrong domain in our email and then the wrong street name for our address. But they figured out that they were mistaken and they corrected it so we’re good now.

We were given a timeframe for the service and the contractor from Cabot Mechanical was great. He answered all of our questions and he was quick. He even gave my husband a couple of tips to things that he could do on his own so that we wouldn’t have to pay him to do it. He was very helpful. He found the leak, fixed it and refilled the Freon. The AC was working for about a week or two but then it started getting warm again. But they’re coming out today to look at it again. They called yesterday and told us that they would be some time between 1:00 and 3:00 today.

I've been with American Home Shield for two years and their reps have always been very good. I called them when I was in need of a drain cleaning service as my sewer was clogged. The people that work for American Home Shield are always very helpful and they seem to be very efficient. They seem to keep good records too and they’re fairly prompt.

Both technicians who came did fairly well. The sewer line seems to be totally cleaned out and fixed. We also had a line running from the kitchen drain that was being slow but it wasn’t totally clogged up. I had it done before so I know when it slows down and is about to be clogged. While the technicians were here, they did both of the lines. But the kitchen sink one is starting to slow down again. It’s not been very long since the technicians were here so maybe they didn’t get quite everything. Those were two separate lines. One guy did the kitchen sink line and a different guy did the main sewer line. I’m thinking about making a follow-up call. They may have gotten it partly undone which then makes the water go faster. But there’s something else there. When we had it done in the past, it went over a year before it slowed down. But this time, it's 10 days later or two weeks later. That’s not so great.

I’ve also had some other technicians that AHS sent out that I wasn’t happy with. I had trouble when I had issues with the air conditioning. AHS sent somebody that I had to call in about repeatedly. They were a no-show three times. I had to keep saying I was done with them and I needed a new person. Finally, AHS gave me somebody else. They came an hour later and were wonderful.

American Home Shield has done a good job for us. The only disappointment I had with them was that our contract entitled us to a rekey, but when we called in to get that done, they didn’t have a locksmith in our area. They said that that was just a problem with the State of Illinois because the State of Illinois required all of these things in order to be licensed and American Home Shield wasn't able to get anybody that was licensed to come out. They told me that they had been working on it long-range for our town. That was disappointing. Everything else has been really wonderful, though.

I like to submit claims to AHS online. But sometimes, I have to get someone on the phone because I don't have the ability online to be specific about certain things. Also, my experiences when speaking to their reps have been mixed. Sometimes, their reps are great and other times, they struggle a little bit. Still, most of their contractors have been courteous, polite and professional. Most of the time, they're on time and I would have no problem.

However, a contractor has been to my house three times because he can't fix my dishwasher. Now, they have my dishwasher at their shop. AHS tells me that if their contractor can't fix it, they would replace it so I want to see how long they would let this issue going on. A month is long enough to go without a dishwasher and after three service calls, their contractor can't fix mine. While AHS sends a text or an email with a survey about their service, that's impersonal. They could make return calls to improve their service. That way, they can get more details and it's gonna seem like they care more that my problem is solved.

We were trying to sell the house, and the buyer got it inspected. They said that the air conditioner unit was low on Freon, and there were a lot of issues with the unit. We contacted AHS and Comfort Heating and Air came around. The rep patched us through where we needed, and helped us out. The technician came out there and went through the history of the unit. He even was able to reference the house years back. We found that the person who the buyer brought didn't do a good inspection.

The tech walked us through the whole system inspection and said, “Listen. They didn't do an inspection because if they would have done an inspection, this was what they would have found.” They would have found that the system actually has good Freon, not the Freon that they told that the system was supposed to have. So, it was as good thing because we were able to save about $10,000. We are glad that we have the service that we have with AHS and we recommended them.

I submit claims to American Home Shield over the phone and sometimes, it takes forever. When my air went out, I drove from my house all the way to work, which takes me 15 minutes, and I was on hold. Then, finally, when I got through to them, it was a long time before they could get somebody out because it was summer out here. They didn't have somebody out to come for another 10 days. I had to call someone else and I had to go to a hotel until I got somebody out there. I live in Vegas and we have 24-hour emergency service out here. I don't understand why American Home Shield does not have that with their service. They would get more people buying it if they had that because that’s the biggest thing that you don't wanna go out.

I’m satisfied with my experience with American Home Shield and they could fix my air conditioner all they want. My unit is 22 years old and I don’t think they’ll find parts. Someone told me that AHS is bad when it comes to replacing it. I’ve been with them for 20 years and my air conditioner is 22 years old. I’m not quitting now. I also had a leaking pipe which runs up from the return from the dishwasher, but the contractor fixed it right away.

They sent Myers Comfort Specialists to do maintenance service on my air conditioning unit. They sent me an email saying they were going to provide the service if I wanted it and also told me about the cost, and I responded to it. The contractor was very professional and friendly. He checked everything over. He cleaned out the unit, checked the coils and the filter. The only thing he didn’t do, because he said it didn’t cover, was a leak check, but I wasn’t really concerned with that.

The dishwasher started leaking into the floor and the cooktop stopped working properly. Then one of the ovens stopped working properly and there was a problem with the burner, one was with the strikers and the other one was with a gasket. I submitted a claim online with AHS and my experience was good. Each one of those things was remedied quickly. David from Chaney Appliance Repair came out and he did multiple repairs all on one claim. So far, everything's working fine and I haven't had any issues since. He was amazing and very professional. I would recommend him.

Right now, I have another claim because I have a spa heater that is now not working or leaking. They assigned it immediately but the contractor, AAA Pool Service, didn't answer for three days. I finally got him on the phone and he informed me that he didn't work on spa heaters and I needed to find a different vendor. I called American Home Shield, stayed on the phone with the lady, and she was very good about trying to track it down and said she would let me know if they could find a vendor or if I needed to have a outside authorization.

Until now, I have not heard back on that and that’s been since Friday. As a matter of fact, I called American Home Shield this morning to try to find out what was going on. But I had to get off the phone real quick, so I didn't get a chance to wait to see what is the deal and what am I gonna need to do to get this done before it turns into a cesspool that has to be completely redone. If this gets remedied quickly and efficiently, that would be great. But it hasn’t been quick and I’m still waiting on an answer.

We've used American Home Shield for several years, and the service has been generally acceptable. However, they dispatched an HVAC contractor on 5/9/19 to deal with an error message that was appearing on our thermostat, and we were told that our compressor was "fried" and needed to be replaced. I asked the technician if the new compressor would be an OEM compressor (Carrier) and was assured that was the case.

Accordingly, I wrote on the service ticket that an "OEM compressor" would be used before signing it. The next morning, at 6:30 a.m., the owner of the service company called to say that he was not coming back because his technician had been disrespected. Whatever, I called American Home Shield who sent out a new HVAC contractor, who found nothing wrong with the compressor, adding that it "had been disabled". He turned it back on, and it's been working perfectly ever since. A message to American Home Shield: this is FRAUD. Even though your likely response will be apologetic and a recital of how you have high service standards, the ONLY ACCEPTABLE RESPONSE from you is removal of the fraudulent contractor from your system.

They keep you on hold for long periods of time 30 mins or more. They then are rude if you have questions. Then when they send someone out it cost you another $75 and 2 out of 3 times gave me a reason they could or would not cover the cost so then would have to pay $100s more out of pocket. Then I had to call 3 different times to try and get my service with them canceled but just keep getting put on hold, as of now still work on canceling AHS. I have had several plumbing claims with American Home Shield and one of them was a broken faucet. The contractor came out and replaced the faucet. After he left, when my wife was using it that night, it started the banging. So, we called back the next day and the contractor came back out. When he put the faucet in, he might’ve damaged something, but they took care of it.

The second one turned out to be the tankless water heater. It would stop, and he said the problem was that it needed a good cleaning, and it’s a descaling. I understand that I have to pay for that because AHS don’t do maintenance so, I didn’t file it. I wanted to do it but the guy said that AHS probably won’t do it since that’s maintenance. I was pretty upset with AHS for a good while and I was thinking about getting rid of them. Right now, a sewage line broke and I’m having the entire bottom floor in my house replaced because of that. So, AHS should be handling that but their people said that they don’t do that. It’s disappointing.

I have done both phone and online when filing a claim but most of the time, it’s online. It’s simple but it doesn’t allow you to elaborate anything. It will say you have a plumbing problem and then it has a list of the areas, which doesn’t say much. I used to have a different company and I liked it because they had a little area where you could say something and you could explain things. Sometimes, it’s nice to give some people heads up. Otherwise, everything has been fine. The people who came out were nice but I had such a sour experience when I was going through this. The contractors had to come out three times. I didn’t mind people coming out and doing more things, but it bothered me that I had to pay $100 every time they came out.

They charged me $75 and they sent a plumber out who didn't know his head from the pipes that he was needing to look at. He said that he was gonna have to get into the walls and I'm a single homeowner, so I had to wait until my schedule freed up so I could be at home for that, which took forever. Finally, I submitted again for another $75 and got somebody who knew what they were doing. This time, AHS sent out a tech from Fabio Plumbing. We used them before, had them come out for other things, and they've been really excellent. It was a couple of weeks before we got the approval for the replacement then we got the new hot water tank. Since then, the water heater has been working amazingly.

When the time comes for the renewal of my contract with AHS, I would renew with them. They are a pretty decent company though they can't always control the people they send out if they're good or not. With the first person that they sent out for my water heater claim, I wrote a little bit of feedback and didn't hear back. Nor did I hear anybody saying that they'd give me my $75 back and it would have been nice if they had gone out of their way about that.

I’ve got a recent claim with American Home Shield for the garage door opener and they’re working through that right now. It’s standard stuff. I filed the claim online and the process is quite easy. But their website asked for the model number per se and if there was a way to actually post the picture, that would be better. Sometimes the model number is not very fairly visible and you don’t know which one’s the model number or the serial number. And sometimes it’s just better to post a picture and the contractor could then pull that up and tell the client about the problem.

They could also provide a little bit of explanation about the issue when their representative is trying to set up the first appointment. I found that it’s better to let them know what I think is the problem and if they had the pictures in front of them at that point, they’ll know if they could order that part or if that part’s gonna take a week to order. Because what’s happening is they come out to take a look at the thing and that's an issue with people like me who have a day job and have to go out. They give you a four-hour window but they call you 30 minutes in advance.

For this claim, I got a window open and I got there, then they came out and told me what they needed to do. But that was what I told their rep and I even offered to put up the pictures. He, however, said that they got parts on the truck. Still, when they first came out, they said they didn't have the part. If the system allowed them to do that a little better, it would help reduce their overhead just coming in, looking at it, ordering the part, then coming out and trying to fix it again. This will reduce their trips out in half if they knew what they were doing.

On my first ever service call which was in our different home, the contractors came out four times to fix the issue because it was an older refrigerator and every time, they went through the steps. But it took me four times to come out of my work and be there for about half an hour. And I don’t think any of the contractor right off the street would have done any better just because they would have to go through the same steps.

Other than that, the price should be kept constant by AHS. I like the peace of mind aspect of it if I know what my fixed cost is gonna be. Now, I have to tend minor stuff here and there, and they’ve all been fixable so I haven't had the problem of something not being covered. But I have heard stories from others. Besides that, the contractors are very nice and very professional. They came out and they said they were gonna order the part. Three days later, we set up the appointment from the original day as they said that the parts should be in and they should come out. The morning after, they called me and said the part was not there yet. So, we rescheduled it. Today, they’re gonna come out again from Tuesday. But they haven’t called me yet, so I’m assuming everything is still okay.

I have had other companies over the years and they tried not to pay. It was a huge hassle and I had to take two of them to court. This is the first and best company to respond to my needs and do what they say in the contract.

I would recommend AHS. I had them before and I've had them again for about 2 years now. The experience with them was great, but the experience with the vendor was okay. I had a clog and a leak in my master bathroom. When I filed the claim, it was a very seamless, easy, and quick interaction with the claims rep. The contractor was fine but the issue didn't get resolved. He came out to service it and the clog was fixed, but my shower is still leaking. At first, I called Rg Plumbing & Rooter back because they told me I had 60 days, and the rep told me I had to call American Home Shield, so I did. I thought they were supposed to reach back to me for an appointment and they never have.

We had a Home Shield warranty with our old house for quite a few years. When we bought a condo, we were offered a one-year warranty with Home Shield and we took it. Recently, I called in a claim and their rep took care of everything. I hate doing stuff online and I hate cellphones. I like talking to people and making sure things are straight and everybody understands everything. AHS got my claim all set up and as soon as we did that, the locksmith company that they used called me right away. We got the day that we wanted set up, then they came and took care of the problem. They changed the cylinders and it went well. I also hired a painter and I’d never hire him again. He was awful. Then, I had some carpet put in and I was just coming back from meeting with the people there about some problems we were having that they gotta get straightened out. Other than that, everything has been good with AHS.

There’s another part that we are waiting on and as soon as he gets the part, he will call and make sure I have an appointment as fast as I can, so he can fix my refrigerator. I also had an incident two years. I was waiting on them to do the part. They never did it, and I had a lot of things going on, and I didn’t follow up on it. But in the end, I was very pleased because they did come in and fix everything. And they waived the payment for me for waiting so long.

The AC was blowing out hot air and when I submitted the claim, I couldn’t understand the gal at first. So, I had to have her spell everything out for me. When the contractor that American Home Shield sent got here, they looked at the problem. It looked like there was a wire that was vibrating and it lost the plastic coating of the wire, which made a pinhole in one of the lines that holds the Freon. It leaked it all out because of the vibration or the rubbing of this wire.

I wasn’t very happy that I had to pay $700 out of pocket. I had to call in again a second time to talk to them about that and see if they were going to cover it but they didn’t. The issue with the AC was a complete accident and nobody messed with it. It was something that mechanically failed, and it caused a leak. It's not something that I wanted them to add more nor was it low. This was something that happened over time and the unit broke. I thought about the purpose of having the insurance if I'm gonna have to pay out of pocket. All that the technician did was put a little bit of soldering on the pinhole, and that was it. I would have rather paid for that out of pocket on my own than have to pay $700 for the Freon.

Updated on 07/06/2019: I have used AHS for the past 11 years and was a happy customer but recently something has changed in how the company is managed & operates. You will spend endless hours on the phone trying to arrange appointments for service. Each service visit the cheapest possible option will be done leading to many visits for one issue to be resolved. You will talk to the overseas call center agents who are very sweet but don't have the clearance to make decisions, there's never a Supervisor to talk to & there's no chance of speaking to anybody in the USA. This is how pure frustration is caused for the customer & your time is wasted, many hours not just minutes.

I had a big water leak that classified needing an urgent response. AHS seems to be in cahoots with the companies they use. The job will get fixed but AHS will pay a tiny tiny portion and you will be left to pay the rest but this will not be explained until after the work is done. Which is very deceiving and leaves you feeling stupid that you could be manipulated so badly. Fortunately I had read lots of recent reviews about AHS and they explained a similar story to mine so I was ready. AHS offered to cover $130 of the $7800 work needed. I did not use AHS for my leak, I used an independent local company who were excellent and everything was repaired & put back to perfect condition for $5200 and it only took 3 days.

I have since cancelled both my AHS warranties. A month later I am still waiting for the refund check which takes 14-21 days to receive. So you guessed it, I just got off the phone with the overseas call center to see what the problem is. I also got an email saying I could be sent to collections if my fee for a cancelled policy isn't paid... The farce continues. Find a different home warranty company for your sanity.

Original Review: There was a leak through the kitchen ceiling and the one that American Home Shield assigned was Live Green. The plumber came out and he was a very nice guy. He thought it could be the toilet seal, the wax ring, so he replaced that. Sadly, that wasn't the cause because then the leak got progressively worse. So we arranged another appointment. But somehow, that appointment didn’t get written down and the technician never showed up. So then we had to wait another four days for another appointment.

We got confirmation and I called the same day. I asked if they were coming between 3:00 and 6:00, and they said yes. But they showed up at 7:15. Thankfully, I was still there. Again, the plumber was very nice and he knew what he was doing. But he said he was restricted by American Home Shield on how much drywall he could take down to actually access and find the leak. So he took down a head-sized area so he could see inside the walls and above the ceiling. But even when he cut a seam open, it was sudden and it soaked through. So we bagged all those pieces up and he found the leak. He took pictures and said he had to send his report to American Home Shield then they would contact me and tell me what they're gonna do. I asked how long that would take and he said it was usually 28 to 48 hours. But he told me that he was putting a rush on the job because it needs to get fixed.

These are old properties in DC and I think they're in very good condition. When I've had plumbing work done before, the other plumbers did certain sections but left other sections that were still the old pipes. So what the technician told me was that once you break the pressure in a galvanized pipe, the rest of the pipes need to be replaced. He told me that it can be repaired but I would never get that full pressure back. So I cannot have a fast running shower or a faucet. And that make complete sense. I've googled galvanized pipes and it does say they're not used anymore. They're very old and they corrode from the inside out.

So he gave three quotes. He said to use flex pipe would be $5,600, to use CPVC pipe would be $6,400, and to use copper piping would be $7,500. Then after that, my contract states that American Home Shield would bring somebody in to replace the drywall up to a rough state. Rough to me means they would do the seams and the first coat of mudding. But obviously, they're not gonna paint it or maybe they would put the first coat of KILZ paint on. By that point, it would be absolutely fine. I would be able to get somebody in to do that. The other part is that the plumber said they wanna take care of the plumbing situation. But I don't know if American Home Shield covers opening the drywall.

Now, I've been waiting 24 hours. That was yesterday afternoon at about 4 o'clock so if American Home Shield has not called by this afternoon at 4 o'clock, they will be over the 48 hours' timeframe. Also, that's without putting a rush on it. I called three times yesterday and I'm tired of talking to the Philippines. Obviously, it's a call center that's there. I had more time talking to the Philippines than I've talked to any of my family in the past month. They sympathize with me and if they were in my position, they would do exactly the same thing. But I don't wanna hear the script that they're reading. It's not their fault though. It's just saving money. Some of them have got a heavy accent and I don't understand everything they're saying or the terminology they use. And I want somebody to get on. That's why I use American Home Shield.

The technicians and the company that American Home Shield is using have been great. But their hands are tied until they hear from American Home Shield. So who keeps dropping the ball? I've called the plumbing company back and they had heard back from American Home Shield twice. American Home Shield have got the quotes and the prices, and supposedly, American Home Shield is still reviewing the situation, obviously because there are large amounts of money. But every time I call them, all I get is somebody in the Philippines, saying that somebody would call me back within 48 hours with the case.

On top of that, we've had to cancel our vacation. We were leaving today to go to Egypt for 12 days so we lost all the money on that as well because this is going on. That's what the life of a homeowner is. But this is not the customer service I expected. What's that quote that they always say? "American Home Shield will be there." That's what you hear when you call that phone line. But I'm devastated. I've been with American Home Shield on different properties for over 18 years and I barely call them. I don't call them over a loose screw. I'm pretty educated in knowing when things are major and when they're not. But they're just great when they're taking your money.

After this experience, they will lose my business forever. I will be changing to Old Republic. I was googling to see what other people had said and so many people's reports in Washington, DC are just horrific. When I read it, I thought it's not gonna happen and that they're just bad reports. But now, I'm actually living it. All those reports are pretty accurate.

It was a little difficult to get technicians. The first time I quit having American Home Shield was due to the delay in the response. It took one case months to get something done. But now, this is a little different. As a matter fact, I asked two of my friends over the past weekend and they know American Home Shield is worth having for a long time.

I didn’t have an issue with my first experience. This one was pretty smooth and quick. I usually file claims on the phone but I did this time online and in the same time, they gave me who our technicians were gonna be and when they were coming. I think this was something new. Then the technician from Advance Heating & Cooling was here the next day. He had the part on his truck and he fixed the unit in the first time he came out.

I’ve been getting some emails from American Home Shield. I checked the other day, and I’m paid up for my membership and also for the two visits by their representatives. So, I don’t know why I keep getting emails. We had two claims at the same time, one was for the oven and the other one was for the garbage disposal. The garbage disposal was fixed and American Home Shield replaced the unit. Their customer service is very reasonable and good under the circumstances. But we’re not happy that the oven couldn’t be fixed. Apparently, no one can fix it.

We had two different people come from the same company, and neither of them were able to do anything other than tell us to use a product to clean the oven. We ordered the product that they recommended and we have it. But it is a self-cleaning oven, so it kinda defeats the purpose. We’ve had the oven for five years. Before, we used to run the cycle, and we would get that little ash at the bottom. We sweep it out and we were fine. Now, the cycle gets the oven hot, but when it is finished, it isn’t cleaned, and there’s no ash behind. So, we have to go in with a product and manually clean the oven.

I've been with American Home Shield for about two months now and I made my very first claim with them due to my AC. It wasn't cooling the house when we turned it on. AHS sent BPM out of Lubbock, which is about an hour from here. They came out and evaluated it. They looked to see what was gonna be needed and let me know the pluses and minuses. They were gonna have to change the compressor, which would also require them to refill with Freon. AHS only covers about $10 a pound, so it was gonna end up costing me about 1,400 bucks.

Danny, the technician, went out of his way and fixed everything. He did very well. He was very cordial and explained things as he went. He found some leaks in the internal unit in the house and they replaced that unit. It took about five days, but it was fine because it didn't interfere with us at all since the days got normal and not really hot. Everything has been perfect since. I'm happy with American Home Shield. I advise homeowners to get a warranty and I would recommend AHS.

I called American Home Shield but the claim was neglected for a month and a half prior and the last rep that I talked to was the most helpful because. They had a company come out from Slidell, Louisiana. They came, looked at my oven, and they ordered the part. After that, they never called me. We don’t know what happened, but they never answered me or American Home Shield for one month. So, I was not cooking for my four kids for one month with the oven. We were wasting money eating out, and I’m not the type of mom to even feed my kids fast food on a Friday.

Things happen and take time, but the claim was just neglected until I called again and asked American Home Shield to change the person that came out and looked at it. So, they did and then the people that did install it were amazing. They were very nice, very efficient, and they cared about their business because they got the job done. Everything is perfect. I like the oven. We paid for an upcharge because I did not like the black-and-white that came, and it's fine. Everything worked out in the end. I’m totally satisfied. Customer service is spotty, I've have the warranty for 6 years. I was repeatedly sent the same shady person out to fix my heat after indicating that me and 3 other people with AHS have had issues with repairs from that person. Instead of sending a different company out we were left to freeze and AHS continue to get schemed out of money for repairs that were not complete and parts that were never ordered.

Also, it's easy to put in a work order online but if you have to call AHS to find out about the status of the work order you can easily be waiting on hold for 30 mins to a hour. Recently I had to call about a billing issue and there was absolutely no wait time to talk to someone. Given my experiences it's difficult to recommend them to others knowing I've had trouble with getting repairs myself although I have had some positive experiences that have saved me a ton of money.

I was initially recommended them by my grandparents who had 2 furnaces, a stove and a washer replaced but they also went thru the same trouble with the one-man run company not repairing their heat. With every poor experience I've faced I've attempted to get a manager involved or someone that could resolve the issue more efficiently and have not been successful. Their customer service itself is so poor that it is a major dealbreaker for me.

We have Four burner Gas Stove top by NXR. In December 2017 I called our home warranty and reported that the lighter makes continuous clicking noise. They had a repair company call to make a home visit. As soon as I told them we have an NXR they said they don’t repair them. I found the entire experience a major waste of time plus it was the busy holiday season. I followed up in January 2018 and they had another contractor come. This guy never called in advance. Showed up, heard the problem, used a paper towel to supposedly dry the burner. We knew he had no idea what to do so we accepted his simple and stupid solution but I did call AHS to report him.

I called AHS as the problem was now becoming super annoying and we had to endure listening to the clicking lighter noise while cooking. I called AHS again early April this year. They were going to send me the first contractor who didn't service NXR then they suggested the second company which showed up but didn’t know what to do.

Long story short that day I called AHS three times and each time was on the phone for about 45 mins. AHS overseas operators read your questions and comments. They are like robots. Finally I convinced a supervisor that none of the repair companies could fix NXR and I would appreciate they first call the company and check before handing up with me. The repairman came a few days later and I knew he has no idea what to do but I was wishful and hoping he can do something to our fairly new and heavy duty stove top that I loved. He said we needed parts.

20 days later on April 29th, 2019 the repairman showed up to the house and pulled the stove forward and proceeded to replace the part only to find out it was for a 6 burner stove top and ours was 4 burner. Again both my husband and I knew he doesn’t know what he is doing. I called AHS to see if this time they can expedite the part delivery since the repairman faulted them for the wrong part. I had asked the repairman to leave the stove as was so we can clean the sides and we will slide it back in.

Once I took care of the cleaning, I proceeded to check the clicking and found out the flame for the lighter was gone! Called the repairman and he said he can’t come until the following day! I told him I won’t be available for few weeks due to back surgery and that it has only been half hour since he had left but he could careless.

Called AHS to discover how useless they are. Everyone talks like a robot, repeats their answers and can’t really resolve anything. In reading my policy, any damage a repairman causes while visiting my house is my responsibility so I requested to see some credentials for the people AHS sends to my house and I am yet to receive it. I called them again yesterday and they show a part being ordered...I reminded them that berthed repairman is allowed back to my house I will need to see some credentials. He said he will have someone call me! AHS takes money from people like me and then just acts like a reveal agency. My experience has been very negative.

I did a claim with American Home Shield to get my two air conditioners checked before the summer. The experience was okay and smooth, and my interaction with the contractor was fine as well. The only issue that I had with both of them was that with the one for my personal home, it took them 30 days to come do the AC check. And then for my rental property, I had to call them four times for them to set up an appointment because the company only do AC checks one day a week. Other than that, the air conditioners both worked fine after that.

The only question that I have is that when you call the 1-800 number, or even do it online, why can’t you pick your own company you wanna go with, or give you like two or three choices to pick your own company? American Home Shield automatically gives you a company that’s in your area, even though I knew American Home Shield has several different companies that they work with. It’d be great if they give me those companies, and I can choose which one I wanna deal with.

We were having some problems with a washer. The techs from the first company AHS, sent out, Gulf Appliance, looked at the range and determined that the problem we were having required a part. They ordered it and several weeks later, we were told that the part was not available, so AHS wanted to replace the range. They sent C&R Service solutions and they installed the replacement range for us. On top of that, we were also having problems with a washer. They found some loose bolts and tightened those down. The techs who have come to the house have all been good. They did their job and were courteous. However, AHS raised our monthly premium at the end of the year but they didn't do anything to notify us. While they may have buried that notification in some other announcement, that didn't seem really straightforward to me.

It took a couple of weeks before we found what the real issue was -- I guess that was the process they had to go through. Then, when they found the issue, they couldn't reform it because they said, "You live in a condo," and they don't work on that particular issue in condos. So my issue is still not resolved and American Home Shield has to do it through another contractor. It was American Home Shield who would do their part, which would be pay a portion of the cost for the refrigerant. But we can't get to that until the problem is fixed where the leak is. This contractor said they don't repair, they don't do those kinds of repair on condo. So it wasn't American Home Shield. Everything could've been resolved had the contractor been able to complete the work. AHS has just been fair. They are quick to respond, they called me and they talked the issue over with me. I appreciated that.

I signed up for this $75 AC tune-up special and submitted a claim for the service with American Home Shield. I waited a couple days before the guy from the first company, Ice Cube Air, finally came out. I was waiting from 4:00 to 6:00 on a Tuesday and he came out there at 6:30. Then, the AC’s on the roof and he said he didn't go on roofs. So, he left. AHS got another company to come out a couple of days later and their guy went on the roof. He said that the AC needed a control panel which was a $2,000-job and put the work order in. Then I got a confirmation date and they were coming back that Monday. But no one called or showed up. I called them and somehow they lost the work order.

I’m a realtor, so I live on reviews just to see what’s going on out there. When I went online and did some research, both of the companies that American Home Shield sent out have the worst reviews I’ve ever read. So, I was furious with American Home Shield. Why does my home warranty company work with the two worst-reviewed air conditioning companies on this? Later, AHS sent out a third company, A & R. When the guy was on the roof, he did the whole unit and he said everything was completely fine. There was a wire that was disconnected in the thermostat and it got fixed. But there was never a major issue. However, the first two companies were ready to do thousands of dollars’ worth of work. Still, I’m sure American Home Shield’s gonna use them again.

I’ve also read a bunch of reviews and everybody complained about American Home Shield about the companies they worked with. When I read the reviews at Yelp, I was devastated and almost thought about getting a different home warranty because of that situation. They should be sending one tech out who breaks down the problem, analyzes it, and gets it fixed. They don’t need to send out three companies. Also, AHS shouldn't use those first two companies they sent out here and they shouldn't send out a company that doesn’t go on roofs when you have an AC on the roof. All in all, I was pissed off with that experience. I wish that it didn’t take two weeks and three companies. I had to take off two days of work for it, too. But I’m happy now. That was the first claim I’ve had, so I hope it gets better.

We've had two claims with American Home Shield when we bought the house. One was for the dishwasher. According to the nice service guy, the motor just quit working. He didn’t have a motor on him, but he came out, kept his appointment, looked the dishwasher all over, determined what was wrong and ordered the part. Then he called me up, asked if the part arrived here and set up an appointment. Then, he came out and put the part in. The dishwasher has been all right since. When we were having trouble with one of the burners on the stove, the issue turned out to be that the knob on the front of the stove was cracked on the inside. Parts were ordered and the guy who came over put them on and made sure everything was right. I'm pleased. I've told people about AHS. And if AHS gives us a good deal when our time is up, we'd probably redo the contract because filing claims was simple and easy. And we appreciate it.

The first contractor misfiled the claim as it ended up being marked as complete when they had never even worked on the job. Once I had time, I called AHS and requested a second contractor be sent out. But then, they requested some ridiculous service and AHS denied the claim to which I agree. Thereafter, a third contractor came and completed the job in about 30 to 45 minutes which was great. The first guy said he was gonna have to tear through a wall which I was okay with, but he had to file the paperwork for it. That was a mistake on his part. AHS did exactly what they should have done.

Myers had gone above and beyond. They allowed me to text them after they initially replaced the pipes the first time. They've been really good to work with and really responsive to the needs that we had. However, the pipes were making a god-awful noise even after it was replaced the first time. It sounded like there was a leak or the PRV that was put on it may have been bad. The guy explained that every once in a while, you can get a bad PRV valve. When he changed that PRV valve out today, it totally remedied the sound that was coming through the pipes. The guys with Myers are beyond stellar in their customer service and their work.

To get the holes fixed, we filed a claim with American Home Shield and it was super easy. I used the chat function on the website and I was done in about three minutes. All Fix came out the next day. The contractor who came out was a good dude. He was prompt and called me before he came. He was messing with drywall and there was dust but he cleaned it all up.

We usually pay AHS for the entire year, but for the first few years, we always had an issue where we waited too long before we paid and would have to call AHS because our contract would lapse on the first of the year. Then, something would go wrong with the house and we would fight and tell them we've already paid for the contract. We got it now though. We generally call them on the 15th of December, renew the contract and pay for it. Then, I call again New Year’s week to ask if everything is good. This last year, they told me it was good. I wish there was an easier way to just tell them that I’m gonna renew for a year, pay it for a year and be done with it, with no lapses.

My water heater wasn't working. I tried to light the heater, but I couldn't do it so I called American Home Shield. They scheduled the appointment and the reps were quite professional. I called on Monday and the contractors came out on Wednesday. We've had some high winds and the wind somehow got into my water heater and blew the thing out so they lit it themselves. And then I asked them to show me what I was doing wrong when I tried to light it. They took the time to show me, so in case it went out again, I could do it. They were helpful.

Everything was smooth. There wasn't any problems at all from the time I called to the time that they gave me the number of the contractor. I was just disappointed that it took them so long, but I'm assuming because we had some very high winds so I probably wasn't the only one that needed service. They did say 24 to 48 so they did comply within that time frame. I've had American Home Shield probably at every home that I've owned. I've been here for 12 years. I was in Florida and I had American Home Shield. There's always problems with housing and the expense could be enormous and overall I like having that extra protection that AHS gives.

Submitting a claim through American Home Shield is a pain in the neck. First of all, they make you wait so long on the phone. And then, they literally repeat everything you say, which I understand they're confirming the information, but I think they're scripted. It sounds very mechanical. I'm frustrated. I'm trying to get my thing fixed, and I'm wasting 30 minutes at work just getting through to them to get some information. Their processing of concerns doesn’t seem like they're very on top of it. They're taking their time. And I understand they have to be thorough, but there's gotta be a balance to that.

I was initially very unhappy with the appliance warranty coverage. Basically, contractor one came out three times, and after the third time, they fixed it, and it worked for a day. I called and talked to the contractor’s customer service manager, and he literally said they couldn't fix our thing and he would call back to the home insurance plan, and they would find me somebody else to fix the dryer. My frustration was it had taken them three times to come out. It was a waste of time. They were bad and I was tempted to cancel American Home Shield. The first contractor was terrible.

Now, on the other side, I was brought by the coverage to contact Zen Appliance, 180-degree turnaround. A gentleman came out in 15 minutes and had the problem diagnosed. He showed me the part and said he had to order it. It was a good service and I liked the guy. The guy ordered the part, had the part, came in very punctual, and got it done. We finally had it fixed in 20 minutes. So, the guy totally was in my house probably for about 30 minutes diagnosing and fixing the problem. Contractor two was excellent.

Submitting the claim online was extremely easy. It’s just some of the options weren’t clear. There’s like a dropdown box where you can identify kinda what the problem is, but the options are very limited. But it was a must information apparently for the plumber to be able to assess whatever the problem was.

My AC was blowing hot air and I made the claim online to American Home Shield. The last time I tried to call them, I was on hold for 45 minutes before I even got ahold of anyone in customer service, so that’s something that they really need to get control over. I like doing it online, but sometimes, I would like to speak to a person. Also, it aggravates me even more if I’m calling to speak to you and trying to explain to you a service and then, you don’t understand what I’m saying and I don’t understand what you’re saying.

Doing it online is easy so I might as well do that. However, when I submitted my claim, although there was a box for the AC, there was nowhere to explain what was wrong with it. So, I had to call Service Mechanical in the morning to explain to them what the service call was about and what was wrong. So, if AHS can add something in there where you can explain what is wrong with the unit, that would be great. Nevertheless, the technician fixed it right away. I was impressed that he had the condenser and the fan on the van. I love the technicians. They were the ones who put in the air conditioner six years ago, and they also came out and did my plumbing. That’s the preferred company I like.

The check valve was out and the spa was draining down. AHS had done this job before so we fortunately knew exactly what it was. But at the same time, the pump would not turn off. The pump issue which ended up being the relay, was going on before the check valve. But then, it became urgent whenever the spa was draining and the pump wouldn’t shut off, because we were gonna ruin our pump if the pump won’t turn off and there was no water. I called them about it and said that the spa was draining again and they said that that sounded like the check valve but they didn’t know for sure. We have a regular service that comes and cleans our pool, and they confirmed that.

And then there was one other issue. The pressure thing that tells you the pressure on the pool, that was stuck as well. Usually, the contractors of American Home Shield are pretty good about setting my expectation, and they’re usually pretty quick. They were very helpful, very knowledgeable, and really set me at ease. I’ve been happy with them so far. For the most part, they’ve covered most of our claims. We’ve been satisfied from that front.

If you have a home that’s 10 to 15 years old, that’s when things kinda wear down and issues occur and our AHS warranty has definitely been good. When we had the service before this one, they wasted so much of our money. We paid them six times to come out and things weren’t covered. We probably spent about $5,000 on an air conditioning unit that we ended up throwing away six months later and spending $8,000 on another one. On the other hand, AHS covered our air conditioning unit eight years ago and that is the number one reason why we went with them even though we just wasted a bunch of money on an AC unit right before we got them again. I had remembered that experience and that made me feel at ease that they would cover more things down the road.

We filed a claim for it to American Home Shield online. However, claims with them can take too long to get processed so if I have an emergency, I would need to call. During a call, if I get somebody within the United States, customer service is good. If I get somebody to whom the call is outsourced to, they have no idea what I'm talking about and give me the runaround. Also, some of the contractors they sent are really good while others are really bad.

A contractor from Adam's Electric came out and he went through the wiring and did what he needed to do. Even so, there aren't a lot of contractors for the large area where I live. When I call AHS I have to wait very long on the phone for 45 to 50 minutes most of the time. That’s a little frustrating. You reach to the point where you don’t even wanna call them because you have to wait so long. But once you speak to them, the claims reps were very nice. The young ladies who answer the phone are pretty knowledgeable. You can ask what company you want to come. If the company is on their list, they’ll oblige. And then, you have to wait for them to send the parts to the company. That takes a while, like two to three days. But with the heating system it took three days or more because they had sent the wrong parts.

My heating system is like from the 1960’s, and all winter, we've really been freezing, and the bills were $600 a month. I called American Home Shield and Carrano came over. They were excellent. They replaced the whole system and I put a heat pump in. The salesperson who came over for the contract is a typical salesperson. He's a fast-talker, but he was easy to deal with. And I was gonna go with them because they seemed reasonable. They were meeting my goals.

However, the contractor said I would have to pay for the air conditioning and the heat pump because American Home Shield wouldn’t consider that broken although the heat pump was essential to the heating system. That way, you don’t have to rely on the electric strip that’s in the heating system. AHS didn’t mention that if you have older equipment, you may have to contribute more money towards repairing it. Even though I paid my $649 for the year, I still had to contribute another $525 to repair the system. But I went through it with the rep and he was nice. He gave me a discount. The technicians were also wonderful and respectful of the home. They knew what they were doing and very respectful.

This would be my second year with AHS. I've also used them for my microwave. My microwave was turning off so I needed a whole new power put in and they put the whole new door on with the power. And at the same time, at the same day the tech was coming over, the knob on the stove wouldn’t shut off the range. The range just kept burning and he took care of it. I paid that on my own. Mr. Appliance called American Home Shield and told them that they should pay for it, that the technician took care of the knob immediately because he was there already, and American Home Shield took over the payment. Mr. Appliance refunded my money immediately and is a good company.

So I called American Home Shield back today, and I was on the phone forever. And then they told me to call the appliance store, GE. So I called them to see about ordering the oven. And then, GE said they don't handle Haier even though it is a GE product, so the person I spoke with gave me the number to Haier. I called Haier to see about the process of ordering the oven, and I was told I have to go back through the customer service some kinda way. And it's like, "What a freaking crazy loop." I had to go back to where I started. And then, I was on hold forever. Needless to say, I had to get to work, so I can't just sit there on and on.

GE gave me a price of about 500 and some dollars for what they would pay to replace my oven. You can't get an oven for that. But Haier is a GE product, and the retail price is actually a little bit lower than the retail price of the oven they gave me. I looked up the retail price for the oven they gave me. But I'm just stuck in limbo to where I could get a half a day to get back on the phone and start calling again. And in the meantime, I have to eat out because I can't broil anything. I can't recommend anybody to American Home Shield. But I still hope they can correct it where I can have some time to get everything fixed.

There was an issue with the dishwasher and the garbage disposal. I went on the website of AHS, entered in my information, then clicked the item needed. It was super simple. The contractor that came out, Ken's Appliance, claimed that they were ordering parts for my dishwasher but they never gave me any type of ETA and I haven’t heard from them in four to five days. So right now, my dishwasher is still broken. And I probably won’t hear from them unless I call them. They never follow up then I have to call them normally and there's a long wait. This is the second time that they've come out here. The last time they were here, it was for the washing machine. They had really poor attitude and had a tone where they were blaming me for the damage type of thing. I have also rated them fairly low on American Home Shield’s website.

So my experience with AHS has been a hit or miss, depending on who they send out. As for the garbage disposal, the tech that came out was super professional and did good work. They put a new one on but there was a cable on the garbage disposal that needed to be replaced and the company was worried that AHS wouldn’t authorize it because it was a "modification.” But since it was an original cable on the garbage disposal, AHS went ahead and approved it. It was probably because of my record with American Home Shield. I don’t abuse the claim system and I’ve been with them for a while, so they took care of me on that end.

Other than that, I’ve been getting called by other warranty companies and the one thing they have over American Home Shield is the smaller deductible. Right now, American Home Shield charges $100 for each service call up and everybody that talked to me charges either 60 to 75, so maybe they’re trying to undercut American Home Shield.

All American Services fixed my AC problem. But the next day, it went right back off. The upstairs is still working, but the downstairs is no longer working anymore. So, I don’t know if I would have to talk to American Home Shield or call the contractor. Nevertheless, sending a claim online was really simple, and the contractor came in about a day or two. The contractor was great. He was very professional about the situation. And even when there was a second air conditioner that needed to be fixed, he read me the rundown on how to get that added on, and he went ahead on and fixed it without any problems. AHS is a really good company.

So on April 22nd AHS was called about my refrigerator and freezer which are two separate units. I informed AHS that these were two units and yet they were still classified as one but because the lady had a language barrier between her and I the ticket was never submitted correctly. When the service provider showed up he looked at both units and said he will be ordering parts for them. The next week April 30th I was informed Sears would be coming out for my units via email. Come to find out the original service center didn't work on my units and I was passed off and wasn't notified of this.

When Sears arrived at my home on May 3rd guess what? They only had one work order and could not fix my freezer and didn't have any parts to fix my refrigerator. AHS was notified about this on May 3rd and the representative had a language barrier as well and could not locate a supervisor because it was Friday. So on Monday May 6th a call was placed to AHS again to try and make sure that I had two work order for my appliances. Nope. Wasn't done but they would do a add on free of charge. Well guess what? It's May 8th and still never heard from AHS or the service provider.

So I contact them and the work orders were still wrong. They said this time they will be good and my units will be fixed. Lol we will see. You pay for a service for a company to fix your appliances and they tell you to find a local service tech to look at your units and AHS will reimburse me. Y'all can't even get a work order right. How are you going to write me a check to pay me back and didn't I already pay y'all to do this?

I called American Home Shield to have a clothes vent checked. They said that I need the dryer checked first. The tech came out and checked and cleaned the dryer and found that the vent is plugged. He was to forward the order to American Home Shield. After not hearing anything for a couple of days I called them to find out the status. After being on the phone for over an hour they said that a company would call me in 24 hours to set an appointment. Then next day I called to find out what's going on and was then told that my contract didn't cover vent cleaning. This has been going on for over a week and now I have to get my own person to fix my problem. Also I was charged $100.00 for a service call on a dryer that had no problem. Very poor service.

I've used AHS for years but this round I had a terrible experience. They definitely do not cover AC repairs. If your AC needs repair, you will have to pay a ton of money because they cover a minimum amount for the repair/exchange of a compressor. The company they sent wanted to charge me $1400 to do this repair aside from what they were getting from the AHS (a measly $491)! Finally I opted for getting the cash and buying a new AC system rather than paying so much money for the replacement of a compressor! Just know that if you need AC work, AHS sucks!

The vendor's diagnosis is a new system was needed. The information the vendor submitted to AHS does not match the diagnosis given to me. The vendor is representing AHS so their diagnosis should represent the AHS guidelines. Since their diagnosis to me was a new system is required, that's what I'm expecting. I spoke with Tanya at AHS and I told her what my invoice from the vendor said and she said, "It doesn't matter what your information says". Wow, the customer's comments don't matter?!? Very disappointing in how I'm being treated. The vendor selected is not representing AHS very well and AHS isn't taking care of the customer.

I made a claim for my dishwasher. When I tried to run a load of dishes, I pushed the door shut, but it wouldn’t close. It popped back open. I tried it several times and I didn’t understand what the problem was. So, I thought it was a broken latch. I then contacted American Home shield online. The contractor came out, and he saw that there was a piece that hangs from the top rack, that when it pushes into the back, it allows this thing to close. And he needed a new piece because mine was broken. So, he got it, took him a couple of days, and he came out and fixed it. He did a great job.

I also had an electrician come quite a while ago. I’ve had this guy from another company three times. He had always been awesome. He was very sharp and courteous, and he was easy to get along with. I’m very happy with people that they've sent out. The issue always, however, is: is it worth having American Home Shield given the amount of money I have to pay per year? In this case, I’ve had this appliance guy come out three times. So, even though I paid 75 bucks a shot, I probably recouped the amount of the cost having AHS. If I didn’t use them at all, it would be a bad investment. But if it gets really bad and something goes completely, then it’s worth it. Overall, my appliances are going fine now.

We contacted AHS again because the air conditioner compressor that sits outside decided it wanted to let go. They let us know of a contractor here in Topeka named H.D. It took at least 10 days to keep calling American Shield and we were getting several people. I’ve talked to five different people because most of them had no clue. And even though I would read them the reference number, my address, and my name, it was almost like I was starting a new claim every time, even though it wasn’t.

On top of that, most of them hardly spoke English. But they’re located in Memphis and it wasn’t like I was calling Indonesia or I was talking to India. When I'd ask to talk to their supervisor. I’d be on hold for 25 minutes and they would hang up. So, I was not impressed. Finally, when I got ahold of this person named Sheila, we got it all straightened out and the air conditioner was ordered today. Still, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. But I believe that currently we’re on the right track and they slated to have the new unit installed this Friday.

It totally broke down and Sears came out. At first, they didn’t show up the day that they were supposed to and then, they did show up, but they said that they needed to order a part and I would have it within a week.

This was right before Thanksgiving and they didn't show up again. The rep at American Home Shield told me to buy a new microwave. While I thought it was very good, I was very upset with Sears, especially since about three weeks later just before Christmas, they called and said that the part was in. I told them that they were a day late. Then, my daughter reminded me that we have an issue. I thought our dryer was breaking down and I called American Home Shield and they sent out Sears again.

I complained about them sending out Sears, but this time, they sent out a very good guy. He was very pleasant and showed up on time. It turned out my dryer's outside part had become clogged because of laundry lint. He cleaned that out for me and fixed my problem. I've been very pleased with American Home Shield so far. They're responsive. It's ridiculous to be paying $75 a month to continue with them but I'm thinking about doing it. Everything went very well. There were two contractors. The first one came out and tried to fix it. And again, he was very professional, efficient and he went right to work. He found one electronic problem and he replaced that, but it still wouldn’t work. When he checked the other motors and stuff in it, he said that both of the motors were burnt. So he told me I needed a new dishwasher. He listened to me when I was telling him about what happened.

AHS replaced the dishwasher and I didn’t know how to put the rinse agent in there because it wasn’t clear in the instructions on how to operate the machine. I also had not used one like that. The rep walked me through it. She answered all of my questions. All the stuff being just online, it doesn’t work for me because I can’t see very well, so I need good light and big, bold font, even on my phone. I can read it better when I got the newer phone, but even that is a couple of years old. I read what’s on paper and it’s much clearer for my vision. So I asked her if I could get something in print and she mailed it to me and I’ve gotten that since then. So now, I’ve got my owner’s manual in print. That was handled very well.

I like submitting claims over the phone a lot better. That way, American Home Shield would know exactly what I'm talking about. Most recently, I filed a claim for the oven and my problem was with Sears getting someone out there. It took more than a month for somebody to come out to my home. First, it was a schedule where that was their time slot. So I said I would make myself available. But on that Saturday that the technician was supposed to come out, the weather was bad. So we got a call saying he had an emergency and he couldn't come out. So we had to reschedule but instead of them rescheduling, we had to call them back and it took another two weeks for someone to come out.

When the gentleman came out, I didn’t have a problem with him. He was real good. But it was another week before the part came in and right now, the part is still sitting on the floor in my house. He told me that because he ordered the part and it was coming here, it was gonna be another two weeks before he could come back and put it in. But he also explained to me that it's a piece that I can plug myself. He said that I had to cut the power off and I said okay. And all in all, I still think the warranty is a good service.

I was very satisfied with American Home Shield. We had a small fire at our home. A part of the cooktop ignited and damaged it. The cooktop people came out and determined that it was damaged beyond control, so they’re replacing it. And just last night, I ordered another cooktop. AHS was really great. They gave me different options and I went with what they suggested and it seemed to fit. The reps I've spoken with were good. I had some issues in the past. There was a delay in the follow-up. So, when we made a determination that it was something that needed to be replaced, it took about two weeks when we were able to reach a live person. So, that was a little delay in that. But other than that, the customer service is adequate. They are friendly, professional, helpful.

My refrigerator hadn't been working for quite a while and it stopped cooling completely. The freezer wasn't freezing and it got worse and worse. I submitted the claim over the phone and the rep tried to get the technician out. I called her again on a Saturday evening and she checked it directly with the technician, but he never got it. Nothing happened until Wednesday so I had to put whatever I had into a cooler. Before the tech from All Home Appliance & Repair came, he called and said he'd be out within 30 minutes. When he was here, he told me that the problem was the solenoid to the motor. Then he said, "I hope I have one in the truck." He went out to the truck, he had one, and he put it in. He did a good job replacing the solenoid on the motor and the refrigerator really works excellently now. I now have a refrigerator that if I put ice cream in the freezer, it freezes. I'm thrilled. I'm also very satisfied with American Home Shield.

We’ve had a few small claims and the experience has been good. I typically file these claims online with American Home Shield and usually, the turnaround time is quick. Navigating their website is relatively easy and convenient. The technicians that they’ve sent have all been great. Most recently, a service for a washer and dryer was initially contracted through an appliance repair company but they were unable to come out. So, it was switched to Master Appliance and although the switch was a little time-consuming, they were prompt and they were quick to reply to get the appointment set up. The tech was professional and he was able to diagnose the issue. All in all, I’ve been really happy with American Home Shield.

American Home Shield contractor Absolute Comfort Air Conditioning & Heating did wrong diagnosis of my AC unit as bad compressor and I'm responsible for $1,120.00 to add 16 lbs of refrigerant. I call AHS and got permission for second opinion. The area licenced technician came & diagnosis as worn out contactor & need little refrigerant, and the COMPRESSOR is good. I immediately call AHS and informed that their contractor Absolute Comfort Air Conditioning diagnosis was wrong and than got approval for repair and AHS also confirmed for reimbursement.

When repair bill was submitted to AHS and after several emails exchange, AHS denied the reimbursement saying I did not replaced the compressor as diagnosed by their contractor Absolute Comfort Air Conditioning. I also offered American Home Shield to come and check the AC unit has good compressor. Only answer was why I did not change the compressor. So weird that AHS hiding the fault of their contractor Absolute Comfort Air Conditioning and wants us to pay for the good compressor. I'm very very dissatisfied and rank ZERO/ZERO to both American Home Shield and Absolute Comfort Air Conditioning.

Updated on 05/09/2019: NOT RESOLVED. 2 days later is exactly what I'm talking about. We received a text for the Tech stating he is on the way. The Tech's company call us to get credit card info because we are liable for $99 and all parts cost. Our response was this service call was through AHS and we have already paid $100. They responded that this appointments was made incorrectly and they would not be coming, even though they were minutes away. Looking at my phone right now, I have spent the last 14 minutes with AHS, mostly on hold. AHS made the appointment for me while I was on hold. I do not know who scheduled this appointment incorrectly. I was just told by AHS that they wish to make a 3rd appointment with this company!!!! Are you kidding me.

I asked for another service company and was told by AHS that AHS only change company if unable to fix my product. I'm told to rearrange my schedule again for a company who has not shown up 2x. NO ** way. Currently I'm at 26 minutes on hold waiting. You see, when I asked to speak to a manger, I received the go to response. "My manager is in a meeting right now and I will have them call you back in 1 hour." I explained that I was told this 3 days ago when this company did not show up the 1st time. Furthermore, no one call me back and I had to call AHS to get this 2nd appointment which ended in another no show. So, currently I have been on the phone for 34 minutes, mostly on hold, waiting to resolve 1 issue. This entire process started APRIL 30th.

Today is May 9th. After 37 minutes, mostly on hold, a manager finally got onto the phone. He is currently looking into finding a different service provider. My phone is showing I've been on the it for 55 minutes, mostly on hold. This is exactly why I titled my review, "How much is your time worth?" I have now been on hold, from the manager, for over 20 minutes without checking on me or giving me an update. Finished the call at 69m:17s. The manager, Jay **, said that there is only 1 company which can service me and I have to take a 3rd appointment with this company. He offered to reimburse my $100 service fee because of all the inconvenience. It's was a nice gesture. Given my now 5 or 6 call on this 1 claim, seems pretty empty. HOW MUCH IS YOUR TIME WORTH?

I did fold laundry and load the dishwasher. Getting pretty good and knowing how these calls are going to go. Following the original review on May 7th, I received an email from Stacy Williams at AHS. Stating AHS was concerned about my negative review and would like to contact me about resolving "customer complaints." I responded with my contact info within an 1 hour of receiving this email. A day and a half later, NO CALL.

Original Review: I have been a client of AHS for 4 years now. We have had 4 claims with them. First was the refrigerator which is still not fixed. 4 or more techs came out to fix it and could not figure out what was wrong with the water dispenser. 2nd was the double oven. The light was not coming on when you opened the door. The tech came to fix it and shorted the circuit board. After 2 months without an oven and many different techs trying to fix it, AHS cut us a check. 3rd was the washer. Was giving us a "LE" code. This was the best experience because the tech was very knowledge, which has been rare for our experiences.

Finally and currently our dishwasher was been turning off during washing. We shall see. Each one of these claims take multiple calls and many hours on the phone. When I state multiple call, I talking 4+ (except the washer). You will spend hours on the phone extremely frustrated at communication issues. Within my current claim, I had to explain the difference between a washer and dishwasher. I have been told "O-M-G" when trying to explain that the assigned tech does not service KitchenAid. I have waited on hold for over 37 minutes. I know this because I was texting my wife at the time. There has been a few 10 minute holds also.

I was guaranteed a manager call back within 1 hour which did not happen for over 24 hours. I ended up calling back. Currently, after the 1st tech canceled on the day of service, a 2nd appointment was made without my authorization which will not work. You need to determine what your time is worth when purchasing this warranty. I am a stay at home dad with a child that takes 2 hour naps. So I expect every phone call to take most of that time. We bought AHS because I have 2 1979 AC units which are covered. Once they blow up, I will never purchase again.

I took advantage of the $75 AC check, which seemed like a great deal. The rep came out and it was fine, other than the fact that he removed the filter and left it lying in the basement floor, which irritated my husband. Later, we had a question about the check and called the 800 number. The first woman raised her voice at me and then disconnected the call after saying she was transferring the call to her supervisor. The second woman managed to actually put me on hold... until I gave up 26 minutes later. On my third call, at which time I was livid, I managed to speak to a supervisor. He apologized for the abysmal customer service and said he would make sure the fee for the service was refunded, all I needed to do was call back the following day during normal business hours, and speak to someone in the department that handles the AC checks; he said he had noted in my file that he promised the refund and that I would have no problem.

However, when I spoke to yet another rep the next day, she said I would now need to speak to someone above her, in the authorization department, BUT that she foresaw no issue with the refund; I was told I would be contacted later that day by the person with whom I needed to speak. That was seven days ago, and I have received no such call. So, I called them about an hour ago, and was told that they were not going to issue the promised refund due to the fact that the technician had been to my house.

When I pointed out that I had at no point denied the fact that the man had been out, that the refund I was promised was due to God-awful customer relations, he cut me off and basically said there was nothing he could do. When I asked for his supervisor, I was informed that he was, very conveniently, in a "closed-door meeting" from which he could not be disturbed.

I've been paying these people $60 a month for the past 2 years to have them not only yell at me, hang up on me, and put me on hold for half an hour because they didn't want to deal with me, but also to have people in positions of some power in their chain of command blatantly lie to me. I would be better off panhandling in an intersection to pay for home appliance repair than continuing to send these people money.

I had a problem with my heat/air unit. Scheduled a repair via the online service. Waited for the contractor to call to schedule the repair. After calling them & then waiting 2 days for them to call back with a time for repair they told me it would be 3 more days before they could come out. This happened to me the last time I needed repairs. In the heat of the South, waiting that long is unbearable (too hot). Decided to just go ahead & hire someone outside of the AHS contractor. Someone is coming out within the next 4 hours. AHS needs to check out their contractors to make sure they have enough technicians & also get more contractors to choose from. I'm considering cancelling my contract. Paying $80.00 +/- per month & then comparing the bill I pay myself with a good company, the repair comes to a lot less than the $1,000.00 per year I pay to AHS. I'm disgusted with AHS!

I had an issue with my dryer which was not drying and I submitted a claim with American Home Shield to get that appliance fixed. The service appointment was booked for the week with the contractor, A-Aall Services. I asked for a specific technician since we had an issue with the dryer previously and he repaired it. So, I wanted him back just in case the problem was something else that we had to deal with. We've had an experience where our washer was replaced and I was concerned because we got the washer and the dryer at the same time, so we might have to get the dryer replaced too. It took the technician a few days to come out, then he was able to diagnose the problem and fix the dryer. He took the time to utilize his skills, so that was pretty cool and we really appreciate the effort.

I've been dealing with AHS for four years now. I had another home warranty provider for many years. But we had another rental property and so I tried having AHS on one home because we were balancing the cost for two properties and they had a better price range structure. It was not a good experience the first time around with AHS and it was a little rocky at the start. The people at AHS weren't as professional then and if I called them for service before, it would take hours to get someone on the phone. But the company has made some adjustments. So far, it has been good with AHS and I would recommend them.

When my air conditioner was not cooling, American Home Shield sent R Harris A/C & Heating out. The tech checked everything first and he asked if I had any maintenance done. He discovered initially that the AC was a bit overcharged. He said that there was too much pressure so we lowered the pressure by a pound. He was able to fix it and it worked for about 24 hours. Then, it stopped cooling again. He came back out and discovered that it was not only the problem. There was also another issue with the fan motor wherein it had gone out so he replaced the fan motor. I had Larry on both times and he was fantastic. I was very impressed with R Harris.

Both of the claims were filed over the phone. It was both very easy to do and it was responded very well. Although the first claim was frustrating. I called at 10:00 at night and the rep said that it would be 24 to 48 hours for somebody to call me with a schedule. To me, it was gonna put us into Friday. I told them it was not right. If it was two days to schedule me and then they schedule me two more days out, it goes through the week which was five or six days without an air conditioner. Then, he said that it will be within 24 hours. I was scheduled at 9:00 and R Harris contacted me and came out the next day. I was impressed with the response time of R Harris on both claims and how quickly they got the job done.

Since the second repair, the air conditioner is performing great. It made it much more comfortable to sleep. We have two units. The downstairs unit was working while the upstairs unit wasn’t. So, once the upstairs unit worked, it was great. I have had a fantastic experience with American Home Shield so far. I used to have a warranty previously with Choice but they did not handle a couple of issues very well. Also, the contractors that they sent over did not speak highly of them. There were some things that I thought should’ve been covered but they weren’t. So, I asked a couple of the contractors which warranty company they like working with the best and every one of them said American Home Shield, so I moved over to AHS and have been protected since January.

My AC unit and heat went out, and had to be replaced. I submitted a claim online and AHS was pretty quick. Someone got back to me in a reasonable time, but they didn’t come out in the same week because of my work schedule. When the guy came the first time, what I really liked about him was he was super knowledgeable. He helped me understand why it broke down, and he asked me other probing questions like how my electricity bill has been. I said it was crazy because I had a $600 bill one month in the house. I really love that he gave the education behind it.

The company that replaced the air conditioner actually came out and seen my system the year before, and it had a Freon leak. I had to pay out-of-pocket to get it recharged and I asked the guy then should I have to recharge my unit every year. He said, “No.” I submitted something then, but I just didn’t press the issue, but I told them then that something was wrong last year, but it wasn’t fixed. And so then, it just progressively got worse, and then, the air and heat was messed up.

After they left the first time, they had to get all the quotes and figure out what the out-of-pocket was because for sure I knew it wasn’t gonna be 100%. However, I felt like I had to keep calling. I had to call American Home Shield a couple of times to find out where my claim was for them to tell me how much it was so that I could get it fixed. But everything ended up getting taken care of. They were there all day from 10:30 to 7:00. And then, towards the end of the evening, they still ended up having to leave and go get another part because they have installed everything but the air wasn’t kicking high voltage. But everything is fine now. Also the contractors kept taking off their shoes in the house and I was like, “You really don’t have to do that.” They were super respectful. Other than the noise, because they had to do that, I could barely tell they were there because they were like the nicest people ever.

However, I recently closed my debit card, so I had to update my monthly recurring billing through a new card. And I don't know if it's the time of the month, but one time, it might have been my fault that the payment didn’t go through, but every time I call, it doesn’t debit from my account for four or five days. The payment didn’t process, so I thought I needed to do it again. They charged me twice but they had to refund me for it.

The only other thing that I would have liked was the explanation. They left me a long voicemail about why the out-of-pocket was however much it was. They didn’t tell me anything because I don’t really know all the things that they were saying were or were not covered. So, that piece was a little bit hazy, but not enough to where I'm like, “I wanna switch companies.” I still feel like it was reasonable being that I got the whole system replaced. The website also wasn’t super user-friendly. It was like having you wanna leave a review. There was just too many options instead of me just being able to fill out, “Hey, these are all the things that worked well.” But service-wise, for the most part, their service was good and timely.

I called AHS and told them it wasn’t broken before and the guys have left. They were gonna leave without even trying the shower after they were supposed to fix the nozzle. I had to force them to try it. The two workers were very disrespectful. AHS gave me a number to call and the name of a woman. I called her and she said she would look into it. I told her the whole story and she asked the company if they would come back out to look at the damage, and they said no. I told her that I have my own plumber that I use for things that are not covered under the insurance and given that she said she believed in what I was telling her, she asked me if I could have the plumber come out and give an estimate. So, I did. The woman very good at returning phone calls all the way up to that point.

I had my plumber come out and we left her a message but I never heard from her again. I left four or five messages, no return call, never called Frank, the plumber. It has been more than eight months. She originally said AHS would pay for it but I didn’t get paid for the repair. I’ve given up after a year. The estimate was for $700, which is not worth my time and stress. I still haven't fixed it because it’s in the guest room. When I’m gonna get it fixed, I’ll get my plumber to do it. Recently, the contractor from American Home Shield fixed the pool and that was good. The guy was nice and he was on time. He was also friendly and knew what he was doing. I was very happy. Normally, AHS is good but the other claim was frustrating. I wish there was something I could do to make AHS somehow responsible or at least stand up to what happened.

The outlets in the kitchen weren’t working, so I submitted a claim online and it was easy. Turner Electrical & Lighting came out a couple of days -- it was fast. The contractor said it was just the ground-fault circuit interrupter, and he reset it. He also said there’s power on the outlets, but then when we started trying to use them, it flipped the circuit every time. So, it looked like he was finished in one day, but it turns out not. I’ve reported it as not fixed online, and American Home Shield got right back to me. They’re supposed to come out on Thursday.

The tech came in and fixed it but while I was waiting for the parts to come in, the refrigerator started to make a knocking sound. AHS gave me a hard time about the knocking sound and it would have been two appointments with two charges, but the contractor said they would just send a tech out to fix the icemaker and then take it from there. The quality of service that I received from the technician was excellent. The icemaker has been completely repaired and since then, the performance has been excellent.

It was very easy to file a claim to American Home Shield online for the water heater. The contractor called and we set up an appointment. I'm on the second floor of a condominium and all of a sudden, the water heater went and I was lopping up water. I texted the contractor because I had his cell number. He called me and was over here within an hour. He was at another call, and they came in and drained the water heater. And got it down so that there would be no more water coming out and took care of everything very professionally. He was really good. I also had a claim with my furnace last Spring and the gentleman that was sent over fixed it that day, and he was very good as well.

American Home Shield's customer service sucks. When I called, I got into a loop. At the time, I needed to talk to somebody because while I am computer literate, but I don’t have the patience to go through the computer and figure it out. I just wanna pick the phone and call. So, I pressed 0, and they hung up on me. Then, I pressed another and and I had to sit through and listen to the whole menu. It takes too long for me. I want somebody to pick up the phone, I would tell them the problem and they would send someone out. Still, I submitted a claim for my icemaker and the part was replaced. All I had to do was turn the icemaker back on. Instead, I waited until my husband came on to turn it on. But when he did, it didn't dispense ice. Despite this issue, their tech is coming back tomorrow to take a look at it again.

Our water was very smelly and discolored. I called American Home Shield to file a claim and I had a good interaction with the claims representatives. They said they would send somebody out. There had been some confusion though, and in their defense, this was kind of a glitch. The original payment was shorted and I think that that added some complications into what was going on. But everything went fine. Initially, they called the company. The company, however, kept delaying the appointment. They kept saying they had emergencies and they couldn’t come. We got three calls to delay it. On the last one, my husband said, “No, we're not delaying it anymore.”

Also, there was a lapse of time because of this payment that was shorted by $45. And I was told that it was paid. Finally, we figured out that it wasn’t. And so, I paid it yesterday, so it should be fine. Other than that, the service and the interaction I had with the contractor that was sent out by AHS was excellent. He knew his business, he got right to it, and explained what was going on. He couldn’t fix the issue. He said something needed to be replaced. So, we're still waiting for a replacement.

Sometimes, the right hand at Home Shield doesn’t necessarily know what the left hand is doing. It seems like there's some communication breakdown. One of the things that was very negative was talking to customer service. It was one of these third-party foreign type things and the people was part of what contributed to the breakdown in communication. We spent 15 minutes trying to verify because I said the account was in Paul and Shirley ** name, and this is an example of one obstacle, and they didn’t have that. It was in Paul’s name only. The rep couldn’t make the connection between Paul and Shirley **, and just Paul **.

It was a matter of people not understanding how things work. Another incident was about the rep saying, "Montgo Mary, Texas," and I said, “No, it's not in Montgo Mary. It's in Conroe.” He said he had it in Montgo Mary and I said, “Well, it's Montgomery, one word, Montgomery. Will you spell it for me?” And he finally spelled it and I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about.

We started having a leak last week and I made a claim online for the water leak on the pipes. My experience as far as filing a claim with American Home Shield was easy. Initially, I thought the leak was coming from the wall, so AHS assigned a company. It was called GG Construction and that company was great. The person was very responsive. He called me on Sunday and he showed up that day. They sent a technician on Monday and the technician checked it all on time in the morning. He said it was a slab leak and that it was not something that they could do.

After that, they made the arrangements themselves with American Home Shield to have somebody else that is specialized in slab leak to come. Two days after that, somebody else came and he spent around 15 minutes. He said it was a slab leak and he said somebody else was gonna come and check it out. The next day, somebody else from that company came. I wasn’t there, but I talked to him on the phone and he checked it. He said it was a slab leak, which we already knew at that point. He gave me two options. He said that because it was behind the cabinets and the kitchen, either we get the hammer or sledgehammer the concrete and get to the leak, or we can reroute it.

When he made the report, he only made one option available to American Home Shield. Somebody from American Home Shield called and said, “This is what he’s saying as far as you need to remove the cabinets and the countertops and all that.” I said, “If you guys give me something in writing.” After that, I’ve been trying to contact the plumber who came. He gave me two options, but he only gave one option to American Home Shield. When I was on the phone with him, I told him, “Did you identify which pipe is the one that is leaking? And what is it serving?” That was part of the diagnostic, but he didn’t know that. The other thing was the minimum that he could have done was he could have capped the areas that were leaking. Right now, we gotta close and open the water. Every time we open up the water to take a shower, it starts leaking, so it goes into the house. He could have done that.

I tried to get a hold of him, but we couldn’t. I called American Home Shield and I talked to a gentleman. However, I didn’t really like his approach. Another hour or so, I called back and I talked to a lady. She was so nice and went out of her way. She called the plumbing company, although I called around 20 past 5:00. This issue has been going on and as of today, we don’t have a resolution. I asked the gentleman from American Home Shield if he could give me a copy of his report, so we would know what the diagnostic was. We can’t really rely on somebody coming and telling us to dig everything and break everything and wonder, “Are there easier ways to do the job?” The tech diagnosed as having half an inch pipe leaking, but what I see is it is not that one. It is a different pipe that is leaking, and that is where we are. Nonetheless, I’ve had other issues and American Home Shield has been good.

The first man that American Home Shield sent couldn’t find anything wrong with it because when he came out, it worked right. It never had before, for a couple of months, but it worked right. He told me I was basically making it up and I was very frustrated about it. I told them to either get it fixed or cancel my policy because I didn’t need someone coming to my home after I waited for half a day and telling me that I’m kind of off the wall. If I can’t get it fixed, what am I paying for? After he left, the washing machine didn’t work again.

I called AHS again and a second man came out the very next morning. He heard the grinding noise and was able to discover what was wrong with it. They’ve ordered a part but they’ve not called back. Although my washing machine seems to be having a hard time getting fixed, everybody at AHS has been very good. I’d recommend them. In fact, I’ve already recommended them to a lot of other people. So far, they’re doing fine. They just have to bring my part.

I’ve been with American Home Shield going on 4 years now, and haven’t had an issue with them... Until now. Last month I contacted AHS for a leaking pipe and a foul smell emanating from my basement. The plumber sent out by AHS and repaired the bathroom line cleared out the stoppage from the main pipe. He stated the smell would go away.

I gave it about a week, and noticed the smell would come and go. A week and a half later, I noticed water soaking the floor in my basement once again and contacted AHS, who sent the same plumber back out. The main line that exits the water to the sewer was still stopped up, with a leak now coming down the kitchen pipe. He stated he needed to replace a piece of the pipe and would cost me $350. I was hesitant but agreed. Upon agreement to this price, he went to Home Depot to pick the piece needed.

While he was out, AHS informed me that I’m addition to the $350 charge, I would have to pay another AHS fee of $125 because this was considered a new claim, even though the stoppage issue wasn’t corrected in my initial visit! The AHS operator falsely claimed I waited 3 weeks in between visits, which was a complete lie! She would not authorize the plumber to come back from Home Depot to fix my issue until I agreed to give her my debit card info!

I gave my info to the operator but informed her I need to speak to a supervisor and she stated one would contact me. I have yet to hear from one. I’m really upset the way this was handled as I stated earlier I have never had an issue with this company. I pay my monthly fee on time, and yet I feel as if I’ve been scammed. I no longer recommend this company and am currently shopping for a new home warranty company who deserves my business.

Additionally, I am being charged an additional $510 for "modification." Rehash, a monthly service fee of $90 plus a service fee of $100 and a "modification" fee of $510; and to add salt to the wound 2 weeks and 4 days later no one in the company can tell me when this water heater is able to be installed. A standard 40 gallon power-vented water heater. ALL AROUND POOR SERVICE...NOT WORTH THE INVESTMENT.

About two weeks ago, I had someone come out because my refrigerator went out. I had to express the fact that it was something that was in dire need, so I wouldn’t lose my food. The AHS reps were able to get JB Appliances because they’re nearby and could come immediately. However, no one had reached out to me for 48 hours. I’m not sure if AHS processed the claim because I haven’t received an email or a text message as I normally would, letting me know that someone is on the way. Of course, I lost all of my food. I reached out to AHS and spoke with a customer service agent who told me that my claim was being sent over to a different department that replaces items. They transferred me over there and I stayed on the phone for 45 minutes before someone actually came to the line.

When someone came to the line, basically, it was a brush off. Of course, I got upset because I’ve lost all of my food and it’s now Friday and they were telling me that I would have to wait for two business days to hear back from the contractor when the customer service agent already told me that they already claimed it out. I asked to speak with a manager, because at this point, I’ve lost everything. There was no sense of urgency and I got upset. I was the one who reached out to them to ask them where we are now in this process. The wait time took another 45 minutes and the call ended up lasting almost two hours. The rep never got a manager on the phone. She finally took ownership and said, “I went to the department that it goes to, and they said that they’re not backed up.” But initially she told me, “Oh, it takes them two to three days because they’re so busy,” and that they’re not gonna get to me.

Finally, the rep got up, placed me on hold, spoke with someone in the department. She called me back and let me know that my claim has been processed and that she was sending me an email. She sent me an email saying what my refrigerator was worth and that I could either pick from the options that they provided or I can hit the link saying, “I didn’t like either of them.” If I selected one, it would take an additional 14 business days for me to get it. So, I took the option to just go purchase my own refrigerator because I needed one, and then I just emailed them the invoice.

If I didn’t demand that AHS put my situation as urgent, it wouldn’t have gotten done. I basically lost almost $200+ worth of food, which I had to go back and replace after I went out shopping for a new refrigerator, in which I had to spend my own money. Not everyone has $2,000 to go and try to find a refrigerator to replace the one that they have, try to get it delivered, and so forth. I purchased a brand-new one because you couldn’t purchase a used or a refurbished one. I had to charge $2,000 on my credit card for the refrigerator, which now, I still can’t get until it comes in because Sears is the only appliance company in Illinois that still sells brand-new appliances, and I still won’t have my refrigerator until the 18th. So, me and my family have been eating out and it is costing me even more money.

Overall, it was a terrible experience. And the fact that just two days ago, I had to call American Home Shield back because I’m cleaning and my washer, which is also a Kenmore that does the steam, for whatever reason I heard a pop, and my entire lid was shattered. I put in a claim for it but I never received anything. So, now, I have to follow up again to make sure that the claim has even been created because the normal process hasn’t been done like AHS normally does. In the past, AHS service has been good. But recently, the customer service has been extremely terrible. The lack of urgency that they give to their customers has not been great.

I had a problem with the garbage disposal and had it replaced. It was a great experience when I submitted a claim for that with American Home Shield. They did a great job with that claim. Everybody was very nice and professional. The contractor knew what he was doing, and the repair was done fast. It has only been in a week since the repair and we shouldn’t have any problem yet with the garbage disposal. I'm very happy with the way AHS handles our problem when we have one. I'm also very happy with the people they sent out. I recommend AHS.

When they did my preseason checkup, the contractor American Home Shield sent out discovered a problem with my fan. Then they called AHS, explained the problem, and they got it approved. I talked to the people there, and they had my credit card on file. So, I paid the service fee, and then he proceeded to fix the problem. They got it done in one day. The contractor was very professional and courteous. And they had their uniform. You could see who they were right away. I was real happy with them. AHS makes me feel safe. They make me feel like they know what they're doing. The whole process has been made easier. There was a time last year when we did it, and I paid them, and then there was a big problem getting American Home Shield to recognize that. But now, they do it right over the phone, and my American Home Shield gets their payment right away.

I had a water leak in the base of the water heater and I called American Home Shield over the phone to submit a claim. But at first, they thought I was submitting a claim was for my AC and they sent an AC technician out. I told them that they had the wrong one and that it should be for my water heater in the attic. So they got the right contractor.

Prior to that, I was also experiencing problems with my contract number. They said that my contract had expired and I couldn’t figure out why. They had called and told me that my contract was coming to an end, and when they asked if I wanted to renew it, I said yes. They kept going up every year on me though. But I’ve always renewed the contract over the phone and they had taken a draft out of my account every month. The rep even said okay and I had received a new contract in the mail, which stated a contract number. I also looked in my bank account where they had already drafted the $69 out for that month. Then I got a little angry because the rep was asking for proof. Why would I lie about something like that when I have it in black and white on my phone? It was right there and it had American Home Shield’s name on it.

So I had to get in contact with a supervisor which took forever and a day. Then come to find out, she was telling me the same thing. I told her that I was looking at the contract right in front of my face. It has my address and all the information on it, and it is good until 2020. Then I gave her my address and after she started typing on the information, she found the problem. They had sent me a new contract with the old contract number on it. Why couldn’t they see that though? Why did it take so long, with them knowing that they had taken that money out? But after we got that problem taken care of, they moved forward with getting the water heater replaced. And if I ever have any other kind of plumbing issues, I would really love to have that contractor, McLean Plumbing, to come back out.

McLean Plumbing had called and told me that they were gonna be out in between 1 o’clock and 4 o’clock, and they gave me a call about 15 minutes out from arriving at my house. The technician was very friendly and professional. He took his time explaining things to me and I like that. Once they verified that there was a leak, they said that they were gonna get in contact with AHS to make sure that they will pay for the water heater. The technician also said that I needed an expansion tank. I didn’t have that much knowledge on what an expansion tank was so he explained it to me. Then I called his office and they explained it to me as well. They also told me to go on YouTube to get a better understanding of, and I did. Since the repair, things have been outstanding. I’ve been checking the unit periodically to make sure that everything is okay and everything is great.

I'm new to American Home Shield and it has been a good experience so far. I did some research and read that they were the largest and most reputable. Being the largest, where they can afford to stay afloat with operations, was important and what I was looking for. With AHS, I have peace of mind. I also like that they work with local contractors and are able to get contractors out quickly. When I submitted a claim to AHS to unclog a drain via their mobile website, it took 30 seconds and it was extremely easy. At that time, I was told when to expect contact from someone to arrange a time to come out. They said it could take up to 24, but we heard from someone within an hour. My tenant said everything went great and was quick. The contractor was very accommodating, nice, and there has been no occurrence of the issue. I would definitely recommend AHS.

My water pump was not working. I didn’t have any water. I had to make a couple of phone calls through American Home Shield. The communication was not all there and there was so much confusion. In order for me to get the stuff done, I had to call back maybe three times. The first rep didn’t really know what to do. She said it will take six hours for the request to be granted. And I said, “Do you understand that I do not have water? You know how important it is to have water. I have to flush my toilet. I have no water in the sink.” I also then had to miss two days of work with no pay because I didn’t have any water. They didn’t install it until Tuesday.

The contractors from Abbey Water Well Service, on the other hand, were great. They were professional and knowledgeable, and they did the best that they could to get me back up and running. They had to change the part, so they couldn’t do anything until the next day because they had to get the part. They had to replace the pump itself, and they had to change all the piping, too. Waiting was the hard part. And for me to be persistent, I have to be the one to call, which I didn’t like. Why do I have to be the one to call? I'm the customer.

They probably need to be a little bit more efficient, maybe with the time management. They can speed it up depending on the case. I know it's case-by-case. This is actually my second thing with them. The first one was my microwave oven, but, I also had to be persistent. I had to be the one calling. They should be on top of things and tell me what was going on because they make sure that they take their money every month and I paid. So, when I need it, I want it to be available.

Although I created the wrong service ticket, once I contacted them about the mistake I made, it was remedied the next day. And once I got the correct ticket, I had a contractor out here.

It was BestWay Mechanical and the technician was Jason. They sent me an email with a picture of him. That was helpful so I knew who was gonna be showing up to the house. I knew who to expect. The evaporator fan of my refrigerator broke. It was making horrible, shrill, loud noises and never would stop. I could hear it through the whole house even at night. I was afraid to even turn it off. It was a grinding, rattling — and when it would shut down when it came to a certain temperature and start back up, it sounded like the gears were grinding and it was gonna explode. It was uncomfortable. We had to put up with that for about a week. I called American Home Shield and they sent a guy out. My refrigerator is a bottom freezer and the tech had to get down on the floor. He was a big guy and it was hard on him. He was there for a little while and the refrigerator stopped making the noise temporarily. He left and it started again within a short period of time.

We went to the third person from the same agency. He came in and was really friendly and talkative. He seemed to be doing stuff and plugged and unplugged the refrigerator four or five times to show me it was fixed. However, it wasn't long until the problem started again. I called American Home Shield and told them they needed to do something because I was unplugging my refrigerator at night and I had to put some bags of ice in there too. AHS called back and said they were gonna try another company. That guy came in and he disassembled the whole thing. He put it out and I could see the fan which was broken. My fridge is an expensive, older model and it's heavy duty. I really didn't wanna have to get a new one. Obviously, the first couple of techs didn’t know what they were doing. Still, he fixed it and it has been performing wonderfully since. It's cooling.

This is my second year with them and my experiences with them were effective. My most recent claim had to do with a disruption in plumbing in my bathroom, and Findlay Plumbing came out and fixed the problem. They were professional, they listened to me, they paid attention to what I was telling them, and they accomplished their task. The previous toilet had a seal around it of caulking, which Findlay neglected to reapply. Other than that, it's working fine. I haven't had an issue since they've been out.

One was when they came out but just threw parts and stuff, which was not great. I’ve got to go to the laundromat again this week to do laundry and I’m not happy about that. And when they replaced my hot water tank, which was terrible because I paid almost $700 out of my pocket. They need to look at the way that their policies are written and inform their customer on their portion because it’s not right to be surprised since you got a home warranty and then you pay out of pocket. That's not good.

American Home Shield provides excellent service and they’re reliable. Plus, the rep that we always have is always awesome and pleasant. He always confuses my daughter with me, too. I would also tell others to get AHS because when you submit the ticket with them, within 48 hours, somebody’s at your house. We had some other contract with one other person, but I didn’t care for them too much because it took two to three weeks to get a repair. So, American Home Shield is top-of-the-line for me.

Recently, we had an issue at home where when we were using an appliance, the power would trip the breaker and the doorbell. We submitted a claim online with AHS and it was easy to do. It took not even three clicks and we were done. They assigned H&C Electric, LLC to our claim and the representative from H&C called us on the same day. Then I got the email support as well as the text message to let me know the tech was on the way. When the tech was 20 minutes out, he called us. He even called again when he was outside just to say he was outside. He was amazing. We had him before and he was always good. He was in and out real quick and at the time, we didn’t wanna waste too much time because we had somewhere to go.

He had to replace the doorbell completely. But on the resetting of the breaker, the ampage with the equipment that we use in the home wasn’t enough for the wattage. It was only 20 amp but we were over that with the use of the machine. My husband’s a chef, so his equipment used 15 by itself, not including the other appliances that were used during the time that would cause the breaker to throw. We have a second side that was not connected with that one main breaker, so we just had to shift some stuff around and put them towards the other outlet so it would be compatible. And everything has been working perfectly since then.

We had AHS at two homes and at one home, they did a great job. The contractor tuned up the air conditioner. The second time he came and cleaned it, but he saw that the coils of one of the air conditioners needed to be cleaned. His name is Justin and he has been very nice. I was very pleased with him. He cleaned around the air conditioner and did a great job.

Now, we’ve had a plumbing issue previously and we let it sit because we had two different people come and had to pay twice. Both of them have a different idea, so now, we gotta get a third opinion or figure out something else because one guy said we might have a broken pipe underneath the whole house, and that’s very expensive and AHS doesn’t cover that. So we’re stuck in limbo. I wasn’t so sure about those both people that we used. The second one was okay. They were good. But the first one, I wasn’t pleased. But that was the only bad experience I’ve had. AHS had someone come out and fix our pool and they’ve done a good job every time. We’re pretty happy with everything else. When the pump broke the other day AHS had someone come out and fix that really quick. They've been good about coming out quickly.

    Original Review: May 5, 2019

I live in New England, where the winters are cold and heat is a necessity lest you want freezing children and burst water pipes. A few months ago I had an issue where the blower on my furnace stopped working and thanks to American Home Shield ("AHS") it only got worse from there. Thinking the warranty would provide me some benefit I called the service line at which point I was told that someone would either come out the following day otherwise it would be approximately three days...THREE DAYS! I called the service company to gauge whether or not the next day was feasible and they told me in all candor that they would not be able to make it out any earlier than three days from that point. I was stunned, to bridge 3 days without heat during the middle of the winter is not possible with modern plumbing.

As I spent my afternoon calling back and forth between the service company and AHS one thing became clear, nothing was getting fixed anytime soon. Instead I was forced to call a local service company which came out THAT AFTERNOON and fixed my problem. Of course AHS being the scam artists they are refuse to pay for any "out of service network repairs". I was really disappointed that I had thrown money down the toilet on AHS. They really are just interested in collecting your premiums and avoiding giving you anything in return. They even have a comical $100 service fee just to get someone to come out for a service call...do yourself a favor and save your money.

I can honestly say I feel that my premiums were a complete waste and that AHS in no way was interested in assisting me during the periods I needed them. I actually had another, unrelated issue with my HVAC which arose today and I will NOT be calling AHS this time. Why? Because I know all they want is to scam me out of a $100 on a service fee when to date I've given the company a few hundred dollars of premium and collected absolutely nothing. Best advice I can give you is to avoid AHS like the plague, because they are that bad.

The AC unit had a part that went bad and a Freon leak, and I submitted a claim over the internet to American Home Shield. It was a Sunday and the first available appointment was Thursday, on the 25th. However, I didn’t end up having the contractor come out to service because they guaranteed to come out from 12 to 4. At two o’clock, I haven’t heard anything and usually, I would have. So, I called them and they said that my appointment wasn’t until the following Thursday, which was on the 2nd. I told them that it’s on the 25th and the woman at Comfort First was extremely rude. I immediately called AHS, told them what was going on and they immediately remedied the situation. They had a secondary contractor there that evening and said their apologies about the poor service of the first contractor who was already outside their guidelines. They were supposed to make an appointment within 48 hours, and then service within 48 hours.

The second contractor was CT Mechanical and Clinton, the technician, was fantastic. He came back the next day because he had to get the part. He went and picked up the part and put in Freon that was more cost-effective than the traditional Freon since everything leaked out. He was extremely helpful. We have had no issues since he repaired it. Once I was able to provide AHS the issue with the first contractor, they were quick to resolve it and immediately, put me in contact with someone that resolved the issue and made me whole, so I felt fine with it. I’ve had them for at least 10 years and I’m getting ready to renew for another year, so putting-kinda-your-money-where-your-mouth-is type of thing is important.

The guy from Sun Bright Pool Services handled my issue quite well. It was a leak in one of my valves, and he repaired it and corrected the problem. And everything’s been working since. I filed the claim for it with American Home Shield online. The process was simple. Also, the turnaround time was quick. The only thing is you can never reach anybody from American Home Shield. I’ve waited a half an hour, and nobody responds. So, I’ve given up and I don’t call any more.

He was pretty good. The AC is working good so far. American Home Shield had pretty good customer service. It was a great experience overall.

Our dishwasher wasn’t draining and the contractor that American Home Shield sent out were on time and very, very nice. The plumber that came by never opened the gateway from the pipe to the food processor. So, that was just the problem. He decided to take the cap off and it was an easy fix. I've been very pleased.

The heating element on microwave was broken and so I filed a claim with American Home Shield. I did it over the phone and the customer service was great. Everything was great. The guy who came out was knowledgeable, did what he had to do, and fixed everything really fast and was out. His name was Sergei. He was polite and he didn’t make a mess of things. So, he was good, too. My microwave has been great since the repair. It’s like new.

I’m a new policyholder and for my first claim, my garbage disposal had rusted and was leaking from the bottom. I called American Home Shield then they contacted me with the name of the contractor. He called and came out the next day. I was impressed he didn’t try to oversell me anything, which a lot of them do. He was polite, professional and answered questions I had. I was just very, very pleased.

Sears came out when I called to submit a claim to American Home Shield for my refrigerator. I did it over the phone because we were having a hard time finding somebody. There were a couple of people who were out of town and AHS really worked on to make sure they got me someone right away. It was awesome. Then, the contractor found out that it was the main board so they had to order the board which took five days. Once the board came in, I called them and they came out within two days. They did good and the refrigerator has been working fine since the repair.

It took a couple of days for the contractor to come out after I filed a claim with AHS, which was very reasonable. There were two people and they immediately identified themselves. They were friendly, and were able to go right in and immediately see the problem. They also fixed the issue really quickly, in the same day. They had to replace a couple parts and told me exactly what they were.

My ice maker broke. It was the original, and it stopped working. I called American Home Shield for that, and they sent out the local refrigeration service who were there the next day. It was amazing. When the contractor made the appointment, they said, “We’ll be there tomorrow at 8:30,” and they were there at 8:20. He knew exactly what the problem was. The ice maker froze out the line and the gears were shut. He pulled it out and replaced it, and he was on his way within 10 minutes. The contractor was very good, and since the repair, my ice maker has been working great. I would recommend American Home Shield.
