    My AC unit was blowing hot air and I found out about it at night so I made the claim online in the wee hours of the morning. I didn't realize that the response would be so quick. The people came by at 9:00 later that morning. They did call several times but I missed the calls because I was asleep. It was Saturday when they came out and the technician was pleasant in his demeanor. He was respectful of the home and he explained really well when he spoke. He explained what was happening and how he was gonna rectify the problem, and he rectified the problem.

    I didn't realize, though, when I made my payment that my savings couldn't be accessed. But American Home Shield sent out notices and I was able to make the transfer to get the thing paid, which was good for me because it was hassle-free. So I appreciate that. The process of submitting the claim was very easy as well. My confidence in using technology is not as high but I do what I have to do. I didn't have my number on hand but I was able to access it another way so it was easy and user-friendly. The experience with American Home Shield was awesome overall. I was very pleased.

    We had an air conditioner shut down. We submitted our claim to AHS over the phone. The representatives were fine. We had no problem. They were able to get the contractors out the next day. The contractor walked us through what had happened. He came in, he put booties on, he went outside, he checked everything out, went upstairs, where the air conditioning unit was. And he was very polite and well groomed too. He also called us, and we had a blow-by-blow where he was. He said, "I'll be there in approximately 45 minutes." He emailed us. And then, it was about 30 minutes later he was there. So, he told us what part of the area he was in. He wasn't in Dayton at the time. And we had no problems at all.

    The washing machine broke and filing the claim for it was outstanding. Dealing with the guy and having the repair gone so quickly were great. I was very, very pleased. He made my washer work great so I have no complaints with that. The claim previous to the GE claim was a leaking pipe in my wall. We were losing 10,000 gallons a month out of the pipe coming from the hot water heater. I went through 3 different plumbers that came out here and not one of them could do the work because they didn’t have the right detector to find out where the pipe was leaking.

    American Home Shield sent out this company called Fly Plumbing Contractors and they were like, “Oh, yeah. We can do this. No problem. In fact, we think the leak’s right here.” But I don’t think those people were qualified to do that job.They dug 9 holes in my kitchen and dining room’s hardwood floors. They took down two walls, the drywall and destroyed my cabinet and under the kitchen sink where they cut a hole. They bent the plumbing under there, so now, I don’t have any water pressure. They just left everything after they found and fixed the pipe leak. I have a billion pictures to prove what they did. I have giant trash bags filled with foundation and gravel in them all over the house. There’s so much dust in here that we had to actually leave for a while ‘cause it’s unbreathable. Plus, my husband has had cancer and right during all this stuff, his cancer came back.

    Be careful who you let American Home Shield send to your house. I wish I would’ve investigated the plumbers that they sent here, and I would’ve never allowed this to happen. But the biggest thing is I kept calling their associates and the people that I talked to to set these things up. I don’t think they were listening. They did not understand the problem. They kept sending different plumbers out here that didn’t do excavating. The ones they sent just used a jackhammer on my entire house. It’s destroyed. We both have gotten hurt by falling into the holes and there’s gravel everywhere. It’s horrible. That was 3 months ago, and it’s just today that I finally was able to get some contractors in to repair all of this damage that I have.

    When you do need to talk to somebody live from American Home Shield, the wait time can be pretty lengthy. I tried to call in and talk with a rep, and I was on hold for close to 30 minutes before I got somebody. Still, the policy is pretty robust and it covers everything we need it to. So far, we’ve had two contractors that have come out, one for a washing machine repair and one for the air conditioner. The one for the AC was fantastic and professional. The one with the washing machine, I wasn’t super impressed. He tried to jerry-rig it the first time and that didn't hold, so they had to come out a second time. It didn't cost us any extra, but it was an inconvenience in terms of time. The air conditioner recently wasn’t blowing cold air, and Cote's Mechanical came out and changed the blower motor. I did that claim online because it happened in the middle of the night, and I was able to get on early in the morning and get that started before they got busy.

    American Home Shield sent a contractor who found out that I had galvanized pipes. They should have stopped, called their office, and then talked to me before they went any further. But what happened was they cut my galvanized pipe, jeopardizing all of my plumbing in my mobile home. So basically, they came back and said, “We’ll waive the $700 fee for the hot water heater, but it’s gonna take you $6,000 to redo your plumbing now.” I live in a mobile home, so the pipe is up in a cabinet. They jeopardized my flooring by cutting so many holes in the flooring on top of cutting the pipe.

    But American Shield came forth and did the right thing. They got another company out here that did an incredible job. I didn't end up even paying the full $700, and I’m very happy with Alvarez Plumbing. In fact, I look forward to using them again. I was very surprised because it went three weeks without a hot water heater and I had gotten to the point where I had given up. But, no, they did come forth, and I highly respect American Shield for that.

    But it will be nice if I can speak with people that speak English and speak to a supervisor when I ask for one. I never could get any further than the people answering the phone and a lot of them were hard to even understand. But other than that, I’m happy with what my results ended up being. I have a beautiful hot water heater. Alvarez Plumbing fixed the floor and the pipe. They informed me that I do need to redo my pipes, but I didn't have to do it just to get my hot water heater installed. So, it worked out. After all the phone calls it was a good thing. I was reading a lot of the reviews, and there's a lot of plumbing companies and stuff out there that are not doing what's good for American Home Shield, and they need to know that. I’m sure it’s gotta be difficult for them to try to find a reputable company. But Alvarez Plumbing, I would, by far, refer them to anyone.

    Generally, I’ve been happy with American Home Shield. I just had a problem with the plumbing and they sent somebody right away. However, I’ve been having trouble with my air conditioner. It needs a new coil. I’ve had American Home Shield call out for the last couple of years, and each time, all of the Freon would drain out of the air conditioner and they kept patching up the coil. Finally, when a repairman came, he said, “Can’t keep patching it. It needs a new coil.” He said he put in for American Home Shield to arrange to get the new coil and that was in April. The temperature’s been over 90 degrees every day here in Florida. I’m in my 80s and I’m suffering from the heat. I keep staying with other people. I keep trying to stay out, in stores, just to keep cool. It’s a crazy way for me to be.

    I keep calling American Home Shield and asking them when it’s gonna be done, and nobody calls back. Then they started saying something about disputing about the coil, and I said, “Well, you’re supposed to replace or repair. What am I paying for? You’re violating the contract.” They said someone will get back to me, and nobody ever gets back. People say, “Don’t ever go with them again,” and I say, “Except for this case, they’ve been wonderful.” Just for this particular case, I'm dissatisfied. My next step is just to call a lawyer and have a lawyer take care of it ‘cause I’m too old to fight. I'm not gonna call American Home Shield anymore. If they don’t resolve it, I’m going to have to get a lawyer and have a new air conditioner put in. There's some kind of a law about air conditioning and repairs and stuff for the elderly. The ads say if they can’t repair it, they replace it. But they're not repairing it. They're gonna need to do something for me.

    When I pressed the button inside the garage, it wouldn't open. And it wouldn't even click to come up, so it was completely dead. I went online and got a service appointment through AHS and the folks came out. The appointment date was the week before July 4th. The contractor told me he had to order a logic board, but I never heard from him again. And then, I called Home Shield, and they got them on the phone and they said that they were waiting on the order to come in.

    Then, when I called AHS a couple of days ago the lady said that they had released the man that came out to mine, but he hadn't ordered the part. So I asked what has been going on. Since a week before July I haven't been able to use my garage. So, it's been a menace. When I get home at night, I have to get out of the car in the yard and fumble my way into the house. The person is supposed to come today. He was supposed to come between 11:30 and 3:00. I'm not satisfied with the company that AHS contracted with, and that's a representation of them. And so, right now, I'm thinking next year when I get ready to renew, I might wanna rethink this. The other thing is that I live in Tallahassee, and these people may be coming from Tampa. I wish we had somebody local.

    We weren’t getting air like we normally do. It didn't seem like the AC unit was cooling off. American Home Shield offered to send someone out. It was a special deal to clean the air conditioner. We decided to do that ‘cause we were having trouble. When the guy form Prime Air came out, he did spend quite a bit of time taking it apart, cleaning it, and doing everything. But still, it didn’t really do anything. It just couldn't solve how things were. He had come back and said a part or the whole thing needed to be replaced. American Home Shield doesn’t get the air conditioner that we had before so they had to put a different one in.

    The building inspectors showed up at our house one day. They said the air conditioner is gonna have to be moved because it was a much bigger unit. The size itself is a lot bigger than what we had there. It’s also high and the guy said it’s too close to the bottom of the stairs. They’re also saying it won’t get enough air and it'll raise our electric bill but we haven’t noticed that. My husband was a fire marshal for years and an inspector for all kinds of things like that. He said it’s doing a good job. He is very knowledgeable in this area and he thinks it’s still fine where it is, and I do too. But the city where we live makes other demands so Prime Air may have to come back out and move it to where the city says they want it moved. Overall, American Home Shield is very professional and is always on-time. We’re real happy with them.

    Airboss came out last month and they checked my air condition. The guy checked on the outside because it was frosting up on the outside, and one guy came on the inside. And then, he pulled the filter out and said, “This is the problem. You need to change your filter more often.” I usually change it out once a month, but I have let it ride to two months this time around, and that was causing my problem. As a matter of fact, they came out twice, because I was concerned about something else, and the guy told me that the best thing to do was get a cleaner and to clean my coils. He explained to me how to do it, which I did. And everything’s ran fine after that. They were nice as well.

    Recently, Total Air Care came out to look at my duct system, and after they came out one time, they never came back. Now, I just talked to a rep of AHS yesterday and I don’t think he was very knowledgeable about what was going on. He kept telling me the policy of if they come out and did do a diagnostic. I was explaining to the AHS rep that I want my money back because the guy had explained to me that they were coming back out here to tell me what area I need cut out, so they could get to it, but the guy never got back in touch with me. And I called them at least six times. One time, I got in touch with them and the guy said they'd make arrangements, but nothing happened.

    So, I called AHS back, and they said they'd get in touch with them. They got in touch with them, but still, nothing happened. So, I called AHS back, because what I did, I went up there myself and I’ve seen where it had the leak at. Then I got some Flex Tape, I taped it up and that did the problem. The same thing he was gonna do. He was gonna cut into my drywall to tape that little area up. And I got up there with a ladder and did it without cutting anything out. They could’ve fixed the problem the first day. They didn’t even take time. He took a little ladder, looked up there two seconds, and then he came back down, and then he wrote up something. And then, he told me he'd come back, he'd get in touch with me, and they'd be back out here.

    My experience submitting my claims with American Home Shield has always been excellent. Sometimes, I do it online and sometimes, I do it over the phone. Online, the process is very easy. And when I call, the interaction with the claims representatives is second to none. The level of services are excellent. Every time I talk to somebody, I am given an expectation on time as to when to expect the contractors out. It's normally within 24 to 48 hours.

    My most recent claim was for the air compressor that went out again. The contractor knocked on the door, identified himself, and let us know what he was here for. He’s cordial, professional, and he ran a really good service. I really like him. My experience exceeded all the expectations that I had. I've been an AHS customer for over 15 years. And they are second to none. I’ve always loved the service and the peace of mind of having the service. Knowing if anything goes wrong, I just call the number and AHS would send somebody out.

    We had a couple of issues with the sink. The actual sink faucet was not working properly. It broke off. The garbage disposal was not working too and we had a tub that was filling with water but it wasn't draining. I was able to do all of that under one claim with American Home Shield. I called on a Sunday and the contractor came out on Tuesday. It took them less than an hour to get it all taken care of. They were wonderful and very professional. They immediately looked at the problem. They gave me options and let me be a part of what I needed to do and also gave me information about how I can remedy things in the future.

    American Home Shield replaced our furnace in January of 2018 with a company called Sundance. Then in about March of 2019, our furnace died. So, we called American Home Shield again and they sent out the same company, Sundance. Sundance came on three different occasions to check things out, order a part, come back, etcetera. They said they were done after two visits, yet we didn’t have any heat. It was only cold air. So, on their third time, the guy came out and said it was all done. However, we were still using our furnace a little and it was making a sound I could hear up in my house. It’s below us and I knew it wasn’t right.

    So, I reached out again to American Home Shield after a few months and I told them that I had no confidence in this Sundance because the furnace was making a noise and I wanted somebody else to come out here. Sundance was horrible. Thankfully, AHS sent out a very good company, Anctil Heating and Cooling. I’m a Realtor, so I know all these companies and I really like Anctil. So, Anctil came out and discovered that the installation had not been correct in the first place. A condensate pipeline did not have the proper grade, so fluid was coming back down into our furnace. That was the sound I kept hearing and had we not gotten a decent HVAC company like Anctil out, it would have ruined a brand-new furnace. Anyhow, Anctil fixed it and I have total confidence that it was done right.

    Other than that, the AHS online ordering service has not been easy for me. It’s cumbersome and sometimes, I just hit a dead-end with it. The instructions should be really clear on there, but it’s not and I can’t figure it out. They need to make how to order a service the front and center of the website because it’s not intuitive. And I’m not a total techie, but I typically know what I’m doing on the computer and I spend way too much time trying to figure out where to go when I order service online with AHS. So, I call them for my claims. But on that last one, I reached out to my AHS rep and explained it all to them, so they initiated that for me.

    Despite that, I still recommend AHS often but I tell the truth and say that with AHS, you're not gonna get the best contractors necessarily because the best ones don't have to work with warranty companies. Also, there are often issues that we have to kinda revisit, which has happened many times, and the responsiveness of AHS has really been good. It’s just that once they send somebody out, it often takes more visits than you wish. And repairs always take longer than if I was calling up a contractor on my own. But then again, it’s the cost of a service call, so that’s the price I pay. All in all, AHS offers a good insurance policy and if something goes out on you, it’s worth the extra trouble that you have to go through with a home warranty company because it ends up being taken care of for just a copay.

    American Home Shield is a good company. I've been with them for several years and I haven't switched because of the reliability and the service that they provide. I've had a lot of other friends that have had other home warranty companies, and they've always had some kind of a nightmare story. I have not had that with American Home Shield. Filing a claim has always been simple. American Home Shield has always put in the claim and identified the company within pretty much less than an hour, and they provide me the information to the company. If I wasn't able to call the company, the company does call me within the 24-hour allocated timeframe. I usually call them, and I always get an appointment faster that way.

    The technician from Complete Pro was really good. The AC unit was not draining properly and he had to come out, blow out and maintain the AC unit. He had to re-tighten a drainage component that was not installed correctly. He was on top of it. He identified a couple of connectors that were burnt out due to age, and he replaced everything. The AC unit came back on. Within about a 24-hour period, the AC unit started faulting again and we called American Home Shield again for a repeat visit. When the tech from that AC unit company came out, he identified that the condenser unit had also failed, so he replaced it, and we have not had any issues so far.

    I had a claim where American Home Shield sent us an appliance company, Vector Appliance. They were awesome. They responded really quickly and sent out the guy to check the appliance. He fixed it on the spot. He knew what was wrong and was able to repair it. He had the parts with him. He did his job and I was satisfied. He was really fast. However, the people from Fidelity Appliances who American Home Shield sent out just came and looked at my refrigerator and left. They didn’t do anything. They came in their own personal vehicle. It didn’t look like a company vehicle at all. I was told that they were supposed to call me ahead of time to let me know that they were on their way, but they just showed up at my door.

    There was language barrier, too. They just came, pulled my refrigerator forward and looked at it. I don't know what they did behind there and I was trying to tell them what the whole purpose of us calling was. But they were diagnosing their own problem. I told them that was not what we called for. They said, “Oh, we'll just submit this to your home warranty company and they'll call you with their decision." They were out in less than five minutes. And I've read really bad reviews about this company. I've read a lot of people who have American Home Shield where American Home Shield sent out this company and they received the same experience I received.

    We keep spending a lot of money to have our warranty in place so they can assist us with things that are wrong in our home and I'm surprised that American Home Shield still uses them. Fidelity Appliances has an F grade with the Better Business Bureau. We tried to switch appliance vendors but American Home Shield told us that that was the only appliance vendor in Las Vegas that could come to my house which was a lie. It was a terrible experience. I did let American Home Shield know about it and they said they appreciate me telling them, like just don’t let whoever know what I know about it. Also, when submitting claims, I prefer to speak to a live person who knows how to speak English clearly. I've had several calls where the language barrier was so hard to understand.

    AHS had Central Virginia Heating and Air Conditioning come out every time. Recently my AC stopped working. My initial diagnosis seemed to be that it was the exterior fan on the AC unit. And that was the case. So, they came over, popped in a new fan, and everything was working. They checked, made sure everything was good to go, and that was it. It was pretty straightforward.

    And before that claim I had a HVAC guy who was already at the house because I submitted a spring saving cleaning thing. He said I needed to submit a ticket for him to repair an issue that he found. And so, while he was standing there, I pulled out my phone, submitted a new ticket and he received it within 15 minutes or so after I submitted it on the computer. That made it really easy. I’ve been very happy with the service and the interface was sufficient. I didn’t have any issues navigating. The warranty program of AHS seemed pretty hassle-free. I really like how the most recent claim that I put in didn’t require another amount being paid because it was correlated to the last one that I submitted. I really appreciated that.

    We had to make a claim that had to do with the water valve under our sink. My wife did everything claim-wise with American Home Shield. She was very impressed with the gentleman from High Priority Plumbing & Service that came and did the work. He was the only plumber that we had that she was very pleased with. She said he was very helpful and courteous. He was very good and he went the extra mile. Since the repair, everything has been working very well.     Since July the 4th, my freezer has not been working. American Home Shield got a guy out. He said it needed a new compressor. The home warranty said because the refrigerator was less than two years old, they’d have to send someone from LG out. So, they mailed the compressor and sent it to my house. It sat there for three weeks. The guy came out yesterday and said, “Oh, they sent the wrong compressor. We’ll have to send another one.” And the dryer’s out and the control board, and they can’t come back until August the 2nd. This is really hard for me because I’m presently working in another city right now. So, I will never buy an LG refrigerator again. And I only got that one because the other LG went out, and the warranty company had to replace it with that one.

    I call American Home Shield to submit my claims. I like to call a person. Their representatives are good. I’ve had good luck with them. They tell me the contractors will call me within 24 hours. And then the contractor’s the one who sets up the appointment. The contractors kinda seem like they don’t know what to do because it’s protected under home warranty. Yesterday, I wanted to speak to someone from LG and the guy would not connect me with anyone. He said he couldn’t. I’m in Kansas City, and I had my daughter and a friend over there trying to get it fixed, and he was of no use. I still haven’t heard from anybody in LG. And it’s not the home warranty company's fault. The refrigerator’s less than two years old, so they have to deal with LG. The home warranty company couldn’t touch it because LG had to touch it. I’m really unhappy with LG company

    American Home Shield is timely and sends out good professionals to help correct situations that arise in the home. Certified Heating & Air recently came out for an air conditioner not keeping up. It was a cooler day, so the guy didn’t really find anything that he could change at that point. He did go over the different tests that he ran with me, and just said that he wasn’t seeing anything. He did recommend a few things and kinda helped us with a little bit of cleaning of the outside unit so the air conditioner has been better. It’s still not keeping up exactly, but it’s not as bad as it was.

    I’ve always had great experiences with Certified Heating & Air so I really liked the guy coming out and dealing with him. The only thing is it might be nice to be able to choose a contractor. We’ve had a bad experience with one in the past. Maybe, if you could make sure that you don’t get the same one, or if you’ve had a good experience with one in the past, you could choose that same one again. Or there could be at least a list of contractors that American Home Shield normally uses for a particular issue where you could put them in the order that you would like and American Home Shield could try to assign them that way.

    My air wasn’t working for three days, over the weekend. I called AHS Monday and they were able to send someone out on a Tuesday. I had to call to do a follow up, and only because that company uses text messaging system, and I didn’t receive the text. But when the technician visited my home, he was prompt. He called me and was there when he said he would be there. The technician was extremely nice and knowledgeable. He explained in detail what was going on with my system, what he would be doing, what he did, and recommended things that I should do just as far as the upkeep over the next year.

    He didn’t expect for me to have any more issues ever. He asked me what I preferred as far as the service that he was providing. So he was very thorough. I liked him a lot.     We were very much pleased with the attitude and knowledge of the tech that came out for our air conditioner. He spent a lot of time trying to figure out the reason. The controller was broken and he replaced it with a new one.     It's very difficult to file a claim online. The computer website wouldn’t load properly. I had a previous claim that I did not get service on that I was charged for that I then had to pay for then wait to be refunded. I ended up having to call and talk to somebody and it was crazy. The company that the claim was sent to didn’t have my right phone number so they were trying to call me and I was trying to call them. They weren’t able to get in touch with me so they then put in a cancellation of the claim. When they did that, I was charged but it didn’t go through on my credit card and I didn’t know I was being charged ‘cause nobody had shown up. When I then called to make a new claim, they said that I had a past due amount so I had to pay. The refund came back and it didn’t take too long for that but I still had to pay for that before I could put in a new claim. The reps were very kind and professional but it was just the hassle of trying to get it all straight.

    On that service call, I had my stovetop, my range, and my dishwasher. My dishwasher needed to be replaced and I ordered the dishwasher that I wanted. I live in a remote area and the company wouldn’t do installation so I had to cancel that one and order another one. They should be delivering my dishwasher today or tomorrow and American Home Shield is covering it.

    AHS had someone come out to work on the electric water heater that was leaking water from it. I went on the American Home Shield website and just filled out a ticket. It was quick and easy. I got a confirmation that the ticket had been placed. And then, as soon as they assigned a company, I got a follow up email that said they would be coming out. The gal that called was pretty good and easy to work with.

    I was really impressed with the contractors because they were there about 10 minutes early, which with contractors is almost never the case. So, I appreciated that. And they got the work done really quickly. They had prepared me for the possibility of an all day thing, but they were able to get everything done in a few hours, which was great.     As a condition of my home purchase the previous owner got a 1-year warranty from these people. On May 23rd I called and reported that my air conditioning is out. They hired a repair company that came twice, and broke it further. Then they sent another company that came and didn't fix it, and came back telling me they needed parts. Now it is mid-July and I still do not have air conditioning, and this is Florida. This warranty company is an disreputable money-grabber that hires sub-standard contractors and hopes to cash in while its customers get screwed. HIRE YOUR OWN CONTRACTOR or FIX IT YOURSELF.

    It's been over a month that our fridge had not been cooling properly and makes no ice. One part was replaced, 3 repair companies have given different diagnosis, 5 service calls and still not working! It's unacceptable to have a warranty and not have Refrigerator repaired or replace over 30 days! This becomes a health issue for me and my husband who is a diabetic. His medication requires refrigeration! This company has representatives who are based in the Philippines and it's difficult to communicate effectively.     I signed up a contract with American Home Shield (AHS) to provide home warranty service for a rental property in Sacramento, California. I chose the Combo Plan. I paid $39.95 per month and $100 flat fee per service request for covered items. I submitted a request to repair air-conditioning on 5/30/2019. I was charged $100 per contract for the out-of-pocket cost for this repair on 6/1/2019, and I was informed separately on the same day that Allright Mechanical would be the one coming to repair. On 6/4/2019 a technician from Allright Mechanical came to diagnose the problem, and I didn’t receive any communication initiated by either AHS or Allright Mechanical until three weeks later on 6/25/2019.

    A heat wave hit the west coast during those three weeks, and the house was unbearably hot. The tenant gave me ultimatum to get the air-conditioning fixed. I called AHS more than a dozen times checking the status of my repair request, and the answers that I received were either (a) waiting for the authorization department, or (b) waiting for Allright Mechanical to submit the diagnosis report (but Allright Mechanical claimed that they had filed the report four times).

    Without any commitment from AHS, I had no choice but hiring an air-conditioning technician by myself to get it repaired on 6/19/2019. I was charged $353, which includes $53 for a replacement part and 3 hours of labor (including 2-hour travel time since he lives at Ripon, California, 60 miles away), for a total of $353. We worked together before, and I know he is honest. That’s why I am willing to pay for his travel to get this repair done correctly.

    AHS finally contacted me on 6/25/2019, 26 days after the initial service request was filed, and told me that I have to agree paying for routine maintenance first (which is not covered by the contract) before they can authorize the repair work (which is covered by the contract), and the cost of routine maintenance work is $1,050! The $1,050 is for the maintenance of blower motor assembly and the evaporator coil. The problem is: after reviewing the scope of work performed, it’s obvious that none of the routine maintenance work prescribed by AHS was performed by the technician that I hired to restore the air-conditioning service! In summary, here are the reasons that I give AHS a low rating:

    (1) Misleading advertisement - “When a covered item breaks down, American Home Shield is here.” This is the slogan of an advertisement of AHS official website. It implies providing a prompt and timely service to their customers. However, leaving the client more than 26 days without air-conditioning service in the middle of hot summer is definitely not acceptable to anybody and contradictory to their advertisement. “We assign a pro.” is the slogan of another advertisement of AHS official website. Their unprofessional service has been described above and will be summarized below.

    (2) Unprofessional services - None of the routine maintenance work prescribed by AHS was performed to restore the air-conditioning service. Therefore, I have to wonder if the $1,050 expensive, yet unnecessary, routine maintenance work prescribed by AHS is intentionally naive or unprofessional at the least.

    When I had a plumbing problem last March, I submitted a claim to AHS and I was disappointed with the contractor that came out at that time. I had ended up getting another plumber through AHS to come out and correct the situation. Recently, I had a flood in my kitchen and I had to stay in a hotel. And my air conditioning went out and the same contractors that I had a problem with previously told me that they would be here between 12:00 and 3:00.

    I checked out of my hotel and I got here to my apartment about 2:00, and there was a note that the repairman had been out at 11:20. And that I had to wait until Monday before they came out. They also claimed that the appointment was between 11:00 and 3:00, but I had an email that said between 12:00 and 3:00. So, I was quite upset about that. But the repairman came out. He was great and he did a great job. As far as American Home Shield, they’ve been fine. I’ve had problems with the company that came out to service my appliances. I’ve been with American Home Shield for a long time. They don’t seem to cover a lot of things, but I’ve had it so long, I won’t discontinue it.

    When our fluorescent lights weren’t coming on, my wife submitted a claim and the process wasn’t hard. The contractor got out for the service quickly, but they didn’t fix anything. They’re very poor. They came back and said they think our problem may be that we needed new lights. If they came out there and checked it, it would be a relief to find out what the problem was, whether it was the lights or not. They also said they fixed one and one came on intermittently, then the other one didn’t come on at all. So, I went out and bought two sets of $6 fluorescent lights and they worked perfectly.

    It turned out that the problem was I needed new fluorescent light bulbs and if I knew that, I wouldn’t have even called. My wife called and complained, but I don’t think she heard anything back from anybody. I can’t blame American Home Shield for any of the process they did. It was whoever they recommend me to, but I’m not sure they should have these guys on people they should recommend anymore.

    American Home Shield reps are always really good when I submit claims over the phone. I had an issue with the toilet sounding like it would be blown up when the water came back on after being cut off because of the new houses they've been building down the road. A tech from K & S Plumbing came out and he said it was the trash in the lines that was doing that when they started the water back up outside. He fixed it and the toilet is working perfectly now.     My dryer was not working as it should have. There were still some things that were never addressed when it was serviced almost a year ago. So I called American Home Shield about it since I don't think that my dryer was completely fixed. They agreed to dispatch again. They sent me out a new repairperson and did not charge me for the repair. So this was a follow-up service and it was ultimately resolved. The contractor did a pretty good job. But what I love to have for it is a little more proactive on the front end. Sometimes, if you have a repair, American Home Shield would send you out a repair person, and that’s kinda where they conclude their work. They may converse with that person. They may agree to some repairs, but I don't think they follow-up terribly well sometimes.

    The dryer situation took over a year to get resolved. And it has been resolved, but it took a lot of things on my end to contact American Home Shield. I had to remind them of this open item, and keep them focused on getting something fixed. So, even if I brought it to their attention and I would ask for a response, I would never get a response. I would have to follow up again after so many months.

    I had a shower that had a loose compression fitting. It was leaking water which would then drip onto my bedroom ceiling on the first floor. I submitted a claim online for a repair to American Home Shield and they contacted Red Hawk. Their customer service was awesome. They put my information and followed up with me. Within 24 hours, Red Hawk contacted me. The tech tightened the compression fitting and told me how to monitor it to tighten it in the future. I'm glad I have AHS. They provide a much-needed service.

    I had an issue with a dripping fan in the furnace so the air conditioner was freezing up. It wasn't blowing any air.     Our air conditioner wasn't blowing cold air and it was late at night when I submitted the claim online to American Home Shield. I got a text right after that and then, I called the company early the next morning. They called me back quickly once I left a message. The contractors were out that afternoon. There was a gentleman and he had a trainee with him. They were both very friendly and hospitable. They even changed the air filter for me and got the parts switched out and everything in about 45 minutes. The experience with AHS was great. We only used our warranty once, so we probably didn't get the full money out of it but when we did use it, it came in handy.

    I went under one claim with American Home Shield, and I did it online. Their online process was easy. The contractor, Southeast Appliance, was within the area, so it took them 24 hours to come out. The contractor was working on a dishwasher and a washing machine. He had fixed the washing machine the same day he came out. He had the part we needed on the truck. But for the part for the dishwasher, he ordered it and he came back. He was just here today, and they sent him the wrong part. So he has to reorder it. And he said it'd be a day or two, and he'd call us and come back. He was excellent and it was a really good service.

    I had a plumbing issue and the tech was great. I also had a claim for my washer and dishwasher. With my dishwasher, the contractor just had to replace a keypad, but when they did that, now my dishwasher leaks. It didn’t leak before or else I would’ve included that as part of the problem. I called and the guy couldn’t talk so I texted him the problem. I asked for someone to come and check out my dishwasher when they’re back up here. He just asked if it was recall and he hasn’t been very responsive. The tech fixed my washer though, and so far, it’s been good.

    My AC went out in my upstairs unit, and it was hot. It took a few days for the service provider to come out but I’m sure he was busy. And they charged the system. Within two to three weeks, it was not cooling again. They determined the evaporator coil needed to be replaced. That was what they did, and I’m cool again.     Submitting a claim with American Home Shield is very easy to do. The website is very intuitive and I’m very impressed with it. I’m more impressed with the service, though. It's very quick. I've used it twice already. I used it once for the free AC maintenance and I was pleased with that because they sent people that were certified and had really good ratings.

    I also used it when the washer was not functioning properly. I have a front loader washer which would shut off and unlock after spinning twice when we start it. I put in the claim and American Home Shield sent someone from GE Appliances. The gentleman was very professional, very courteous, and was here on time. He diagnosed the issue right away. The hiccup was that when the locks for the washer was ordered, it didn’t have my unit number. That delayed the delivery until we were able to track it down.     I made an online claim for the dryer and the only issue that I had, which I called in and American Home Shield took care of right away, was the original person that they assigned to me didn’t call me. I started calling the second day and he wasn’t answering. I realized that that person lives down the block from me and I know exactly what house they work out of, and there’s nothing but issues with that company.     My ceiling fans quit working so I called AHS to file a claim and the contractor came the following day. They did good work. I was impressed by their professionalism. They came on time and got the work done quickly. The first day they inspected the ceiling fans, and then ordered new ones, and then came back the following week and installed them. The ceiling fans are working great.

    It's just that sometimes the customer service people don’t really listen to me when I'm scheduling stuff. I had scheduled for someone to come out and check my refrigerator ice maker, and they never put it on the list. And then they wanted me to be available at a time that I had to work when I was trying to schedule everything on my days off. I’m an OPS employee, so if I don’t work, I don’t get paid.     My most recent claim was regarding a cut-off valve change for a laundry and washer, and under the sink kitchen. The contractor was pretty good. I wanted updated items so I had to pay extra, but they were very friendly and did a great job. American Home Shield was helpful, though initially, they made a mistake. There were two items and by mistake, they issued only one order which created a mess. I had to call them four or five times and every time, there was a different representative. I had to keep explaining my situation again and again. Finally, they were able to resolve it. Also, they issued the second work order to a different company. I again had to call them to make sure it went to the same company because that way, I could get both things done at the same time. Overall they tried their best, but the representatives still need some training in order to make sure they understand the situation quickly.

    When we had some very warm days here in Arizona, I noticed that I wasn’t getting any cool air out of the air conditioner. I filed a claim with American Home Shield on the phone and that was pretty easy. The first person who arrived was, I believe, the owner of Jungle Cat Heating and Cooling. He made a quick analysis and basically told me the primary thing that was wrong at that time. From the standpoint, I was very pleased. They even wanted to come the following day but I asked them to wait until the day after. So it was two days before they came out. Although I'm very pleased with what Jungle Cat has done for me so far, I'm not entirely pleased at the moment. I'm not convinced that my air conditioning system is quite working the way it should be. I have hesitated to call them again simply because it’s difficult to describe the problem that I'm experiencing.

    I sort of gave them clues while the team was here replacing the condenser. But I got the impression that they were treating me like an old man who’s seeing things. I’m afraid that the problem that I think I'm seeing now may have led to burning out the compressor, which was previously the problem that was dealt with. So I'm not wanting to ignore it but I'm hesitating to call the same company again. I've dealt with another HVAC company in the past and I've developed a pretty good rapport with them. I'm thinking of just giving them a call, try to explain the problem that I think I'm seeing and have them tell me if I'm seeing things or not. Every time I call American Home Shield, it’s another $100 and then I have to wait and possibly deal with a new organization that has no background with me and no reason to trust what I'm saying.

    I had plumbing work done on a boiler and when the plumber came to turn the power off, he said that there were two switches that were not clamped and that they had to be clamped because it was dangerous. So I called for A&S Electric to inspect the box that I had. The electrician came and apparently, some work had been done here at the house and they had broken it but didn't tell me.

    A&S Electric came and took pictures then they told me that they were gonna file to see if they could replace. I was surprised. I thought they were just gonna replace those two. They were like two big switches. But now, I know that they have to change the whole box because the clamps are kinda attached to the boxes. You can’t replace a little piece of it. They said they have to replace the whole box and that’s what happened. The inspector had to check the box before they approved the work and then they approved it after it was done. So all that happened and that was good for me as a homeowner. Everything is perfectly fine now.

    I was having issues with my air conditioning unit and I called American Home Shield. The contractor had to put a pound of Freon in. But the next month, the blower motor went out. And then they had to put another half a pound in the same unit the next month. I wasn’t happy with the guys that American Home Shield sent out to my house.     Everything was great for the claim about the locks. It took the contractor like 3 days to come out to work on my keys. He was super helpful. He even told us about a lock that's in the back that we'll have to change in the future, and it just wasn't as sturdy. He also helped us with our T code and how to use it. He went over and beyond for us and that experience with American Home Shield was amazing. But we are right now trying to get somebody to come out for our water heater and that hasn't been the best part. We aren't really having a whole lot of people calling us back or getting back to us in a timely manner. The first experience was great but the second one is a little tougher for us. They said they're gonna call us and they haven't. My husband had to call again, then they said they're calling back.     I filed a claim with AHS for the garage door. Teddy's been out twice. He's very nice and professional. He seems to take care of it, and then it just starts right back up again. And it's never done that before. The garage door quit working, and he came out and fixed it. And then after he fixed it, it would start making this loud banging noise just as it was closing. So, I called, and he came out a second time and adjusted it. And it seemed to be working fine. And then, a day after he left, it started making that same banging noise again. The problem hasn't been solved.

    When I originally submitted my claim, I called AHS. And their rep was fine. The first time, we've had to wait five days which was a bit of an inconvenience because we had to operate the door manually. But I just assumed that there was a big demand for the services. The technician has not been able to solve the problem yet, but the process seems to be working very well. When I call, they schedule the service and somebody comes out.

    I've been with American Home Shield on and off. Before, it was about three years in a row, and then I shut down, then again joined them. It’s been a good experience, but this time, I got stuck. We’re still working on my refrigerator. The contractor came and said it's not repairable because it’s old and the part is not available. This refrigerator is $9,000 plus tax and installation, and AHS approved me only 2,900. I talked to the representative and they said that's their limit, so I don’t know what to do. I’ve been trying to shop around. I googled it and I went to a couple of stores, but none of the brands have my size of the fridge that is less than 9,000. I can live with any brand, but I cannot afford another 6,000 to put in. Still, American Home Shield is great.

    I’m very dissatisfied with American Home Shield. I am still having an issue with the air conditioning. What’s taking so long is they sent out repair people that don’t have any idea what they’re doing. The switch blew and the air conditioning guy said, “Oh, this is an electrical issue. You need an electrician. You need to call American Home Shield and tell them that I said it’s a problem with the electrical.” So I called American Home Shield. They said to let them talk to the contractor. They talked to the contractor and he said, “It’s an electrical issue. There’s nothing wrong the air conditioner. It’s fine.”

    American Home Shield sent out an electrician and the electrician went, “What’s this guy talking about? It’s not an electrical issue, it’s the compressor.” So, they sent out another air conditioning guy ‘cause I wouldn’t let them send out the first one. I wanted someone new. The new guy said, “Oh. This has a heat pump, and it’s probably the compressor but I don’t work with heat pumps. You’re gonna have to get a Lennox certified dealer in here.”

    The Lennox certified dealer who's the 4th guy now came in and said, “Oh, this is shorted. I can’t tell what caused it, but it might be from a power surge.” So, they declined my thing saying it was from a power surge. I said, “He didn’t say it was from a power surge. He says he couldn’t determine. It might be.” So, I talked to the contractor on the phone. He said, “I never said that.” I said, “Well, that’s what they’re saying you said.” They talked to him on the phone, and they came back and said, “No, he confirmed it.” I said, “I want a three-way with this contractor,” and they said they don’t do that. I said, “Well, someone needs to because this is not what he told me.” So, they called him back and he said, “Yeah, I did tell them that there isn’t any way I could be certain what it was.”

    They said they needed it to be certain in order to complete the claim. They sent out a 5th person for a consult to see what the issue was. The 5th person said, “What are these people talking about? This is age-related. You need a new compressor. It’s normal wear and tear.” So now, I’m waiting since Saturday morning and I just got a call yesterday saying, “Oh, we got your claim through and we’re gonna process it. We’re ordering a new compressor but we don’t know when it’ll be in.” So right now, I've been experiencing over 90-degree weather in Chicago for two weeks with no air conditioning, and I still don’t have it fixed.

    American Home Shield needs to really follow up a little better with who they're hiring so that their customers aren’t sitting like this without air. I'm 60 years old and I do have a heart condition. This is not very pleasing. And now, on top of all this, I have to pay $450 because I have to have the Freon refilled and they don’t cover that. American Home Shield should eat some of that cost for the aggravation they put me through. I’ve had American Home Shield for over 10 years and I have never had this issue in the past. They’ve always been wonderful on everything. However, I've been waiting over two weeks to have 5 people in my house to tell me at the end, this should’ve been covered on the first day, and I shouldn’t have been going through all this stress.

    My home warranty with AHS expires in 2020 and I will not be renewing it. AHS customer service reps need training. The A/C in my home went out at 3:44 AM in the morning, I placed a service request online at 4:00 AM and was assigned a service company for repair. I tried all day to contact the service provider to set up an appointment, I was unable to get anyone on the phone or leave a voice message because the company mailbox was full. I live in Texas and by 4:00 pm the inside temperature in my home was already at 90 degrees. I was trying desperately to keep not only myself cool but a small puppy.

    I called AHS to get another provider and the customer service rep would not listen to anything I had to say. All Ms ** would tell me was that the service provider had 24 hrs to respond to me and that I should read my contract because that is what my contract says. Ms ** refused to transfer my call to a manager or supervisor and placed me on hold for 25 minutes just to come back and disconnect me because I did not hang up without speaking to someone other than her. This is not good business! This is not how paying customers should be treated!

    Buyer beware with this company. My first and only claim with this company was when my AC went out at the beginning of the summer. The "vendor" they sent out did not do much of anything except stand in my backyard and talk on the phone. I was informed his "diagnosis" of the problem would have to be filed with AHS and then they would determine if it was a covered service. They came out on a Friday, and I still had not heard anything by Tuesday. I tried multiple times to reach this "vendor" (an AC service company I had never heard of) by phone and by e-mail without success. I finally heard back from AHS that the AC compressor was broken due to hail damage and they would not cover it. This did not sound right to me.

    I reached out to my homeowners insurance. They sent a claims agent out to evaluate. He found hail damage to my roof that I didn't know I had, but said there was no way the compressor was damaged by hail. I contacted an AC service company I have used in the past and trust. They were able to come the next day to look at the unit. The compressor quit working because the AC unit was old, but it was not from hail damage. At this point, I had been 12 days without AC so I had them replace the unit (summer in Kansas is not a good time to be without AC!). This whole ordeal made me think maybe there was some kind of financial advantage for the "vendor" to report a diagnosis that AHS would not cover. Needless to say, I cancelled my warranty with AHS.

    Really bad service. 8 mos ago, our boiler was serviced. Now it has died. After waiting 3 days, the wrong tech was sent. We have not had hot water in 3 days! I was on hold for over 1:15 & now must wait 1 more day.

    The repairman came to fix dishwasher and had to order a part which meant he took the back off and looked inside. He came back to put the part in along with another repair person then said motor went out on the dishwasher and it had some debris. He showed me the plastic pieces. He also said the way the dishwasher is made it shouldn't get any kind of small plastic pieces falling into the motor. Told me he'd have to call the warranty company and I kind of figured they may not cover that. But he went and told the warranty company it was from a bug infestation. So if you've been in a house five years but it was built in 77 I'm sure there is a dead bug somewhere so AHS probably gets out of PAYING claims because of that. I guess it makes the repair contractors feel good to make customer feel bad/don't warranty. The repair people are there for the warranty company and not the customer. Read your contract!

    My valve broke on my shower in a house that is 20 years old. I submitted a claim, took 3 days to get an appointment. Plumber inspected and reported that the valve was not normal wear and tear. AHS declined my claim without notification. I called customer service twice and was denied an opportunity to talk to a supervisor. Customer service rep instructed me to pay for a 2nd opinion. Each time I request any type of service from AHS all I get is a technician that is trying not to do the work or accomplish the repairs outside the warranty contract which is always excessive charges. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE AHS.

    Updated on 07/11/2019: So after 60 days of having no air I am told by the vendor that I had a leak in the access line and it's not covered by American Home Shield!!! After 7 visits this is what they come up with! I call and get a 2nd opinion and the new person says that it is the FREAKING HEAT PUMP that is broken and it IS covered by American Home Shield!!!! To say that I am furious would be saying it lightly. At this point we have come out of pocket $1000 for misc parts and they still can't get it right! When you call "customer service" they say whatever is needed to get you off the phone and are not helpful at all. If I were you I would think twice before paying money monthly to a company that cares nothing about your account! DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH AMERICAN HOME SHIELD!!!! BE WARNED.

    I usually never write negative reviews. I signed up for a one year contract with American Home Shield on August 2018. I called them twice for services where each time they charged me $100 on top of my monthly payment, which I agreed to. First, they came to fix my microwave. It has been acting up since then but randomly. Second, they came a few months ago to check my furnace and told me they would get back to me to inform me if they could fix it or not. I never heard back from them. Not an email, not a phone call! And now when I call them about the status of my furnace claim they say that it has been closed.

    Last week I received an email asking me to renew my yearly contract. I called them to make sure that they would not renew it. On top of that they say that I might be charged a cancellation fee! Since when do we get a cancellation fee when we decide not to renew? I told them I would keep my contract until August 25 (expiration date of contract) but I did not want to renew. I am not even sure they are going to process my request. The phone conversation with the customer agent was not clear. Again she stated that I "might" get a cancellation fee. I repeated multiple times that I was not cancelling. I just did not want to renew! I asked her to send me an email in that regard and her reply was that they could not send emails! I guess we are getting to a dead end... I will call again. And will chargeback or contact the BBB if I have to. I dislike doing this but services rendered were poor..

    To Whom it may concern, Being a member of American Home Shield for over a decade, I never had any major issues with my appliances and related systems. Unfortunately, this summer after roughly 14 years of being member I had to utilize my membership as my AC Unit has went out in this Alabama summer heat... Here is my current experience. I purposely tracked and logged all my dates and phone calls along with ID #'s from said employees to give the most accurate and factual review as possible.

    On June 20, 2019 I called AHS and provided my membership details and advised the customer service representative I needed a request for service. Before I was able to give my personal information, I was told that I would be put on a brief hold from a foreigner who spoke inaudible English with lukewarm care about my current situation. After being placed on hold for roughly 20 minutes the representative advised me that AHS would be in touch with me shortly and will schedule a contractor to visit my place of residence to remedy the situation. On June 24, 2019 the contractor arrived and stated that the blades on the AC Unit had run their course, and needed to be replaced. He rebooted the system after replacing the blade fans, and the system began to run... 20 minutes passed and the system failed again. That same day a call was placed, which follows the same sketchy English and extended holds on the phone.

    The service representative advised me that a contractor would be out to the house again this time expedited, because we are going on a week without having air... June 26, 2019, the contractor stated that the wiring had gone bad over the years of the appliance. He replaced the wires and attempted to restart the system. After a few tries it turned and he left accordingly. Before the sun had set that day, the system failed once again. At this point we have already paid $75.00 for the service request and I personally took off of work twice in order to meet the window of when the contractor was supposed to arrive.

    Of course we called again (dealing with the piss-poor customer service and the representative stated that he could not do anything being located in the Philippines this time) and now had to let AHS personally that we felt that the entire AC Unit needed to be replaced, which is supposedly covered in our Contract (section F.1), and they concurred. Don’t ask me why the contractor did not write it in their disposition… The contractor arrives again on June 28, 2019, and states that the compressor is out and must be replaced. The contractor then says he doesn’t have the part and will contact AHS in order to obtain it. In a period of roughly two weeks, along with my mom, and brother, I all called AHS periodically every day. The holds turned into hour long holds, with the staple statement of “We’re experiencing a high volume of calls, I’ll put you on a hold” by someone not located in the continental US.

    We had no way to get in touch with a supervisor, no email address to contact, and not one bit of help from customer service. We finally received a call from AHS which excited and shocked us, only to find out that the part and labor for the situation was deemed not covered by our contract hidden in a clause that is a blanket to protect AHS from having to pay for the expenses for a total of $750.00. It is currently July 9, 2019, and we received a message from the contractor that AHS has finally processed the order for the part and they will arrive July 12, 2019 between 8-12 and will not fix the unit until the $750.00 is paid in full. My mom has had to move out of the house due to the extreme heat in the house, and my brother and I have spent $250.00 for AC wall units along with an extra $100.00 with our own personal contractor to get a second diagnosis on our unit, who stated a full replacement would be needed.

    This “review”, as mentioned in the title is written with little to no emotion. I’ll allow the reader to form their own opinion of American Home Shield at their leisure and discretion. All that I have said is factual and well documented. I just hope this doesn’t get filtered or discarded so others have the opportunity to be forewarned. If I save one person from dealing with AHS then I have done my job at this point. AHS is a disgrace from top to bottom and the treatment my family has received is inhumane to say the least. Deceitful business practices, incompetent and improperly trained employees, and horrible customer service... Please save yourself the trouble and hassle and go with State Farm or AllState, or any other home insurer to be honest. The money that you’re “saving” with AHS is not worth it even if it was doubled. I could go on, but God forbid anyone else have to go through what we have. Respectfully, KDB

    We contacted AHS regarding a leak in our wall (turned out to be slab leak) but one one would come for a week! We finally got someone on our own. Then we called about our dryer and the contractor they assigned (AG Appliance Repair) couldn't come for a week. We scheduled our appointment for 12 to 4 pm (4 hour window) but the repairman showed up at 8 am and complained that no one was home! AG called the next day and wanted us to wait another week to come out.

    When I called customer service I got hung up on twice and the third person I talked to could barely speak English. She couldn't understand my complaint and kept trying to schedule the same contractor saying they were the only one in Orange County CA. When the CS person finally agreed to assign a different contractor she wanted to charge me for the 1st visit, that never happened, and for the new contractor to be sent. I canceled my request and had to find a contractor at my own expense. So the question is... what am I paying AHS for?

    I placed a service call for water dripping from A/C vent. Took a few days, but service provider came. Charged me for Freon (which I understand is not part of service warranty), and said repair made. Very next day, still dripping water on my furniture. I put in another service request. After several days of no contact (service provider never answered phone after many attempts), called AHS. Was told that they would make direct contact with provider or change provider.     Last May, it was 118 degrees and my air conditioner stopped working. I could not get through to AHS on the phone. I had company at my home on and had no other place to stay. (AHS does not send workers out on the weekend or on the same day of your request for service.) I could not wait until Monday to have my Air Conditioner fixed, so I had it fixed. It cost me over $2000.00 to get the compressor fixed and I spent months trying to get AHS to reimburse me. I spent hours on the phone with representatives and supervisors and they stated that they have a policy that you cannot get another service person to fix something. What would you do? It was a life or death situation. After months of calling and letter writing AHS finally reimbursed me for only 1/3 of the total cost. The sad thing is they don’t have an emergency number when the issue comes up close to a weekend.

    A few weeks ago I had a plumber at my home installing a sink and he just happened to take a look at my water heater. Unfortunately, it was leaking in many places, an emergency in process. I ended up having him replace it to avoid a catastrophe. Once again, I called AHS and they said they won’t reimburse me based on their policies. I asked if I could send the receipt to a manager and needed to call several times before I was given the email address. I haven’t heard back yet.

    I called American Home Shield to have our AC problem fixed. Their rep said they'd get right on it then I got a notice via email that Rose Heating & Air Conditioning Service was coming down from way up north. But they serve Napa and it was taken care of. It was a real hot spell here, so they had to go outside the city limit to find somebody. The tech who came out was very professional. He went right to the source and confirmed that it was a blower fan rather than the Freon or whatever they used to cool. So, he went up into the attic then had some test equipment and confirmed that it was the capacitor that was faulty. And he had the capacitor in his truck. He put it in and it worked fine. All in all, AHS took care of everything and it was a very good experience. There was no hassle and I was completely satisfied.

    The last claim with American Home Shield is for the plumbing and that worked out pretty good for me. The contractor was great. When I first filed the claim, they called me the next day. The day after that, they came out so everything was real quick. The tech they sent out, David, was a real professional. He took care of all my needs. They did both bathrooms 'cause I was having problems with both toilets. There are no issues so far so that's good. He told me I had 60 days. If the same thing went wrong, they would come back out.     Our recent claim experience with American Home Shield was amazing. As a precaution, we already had someone come out when I thought the AC wasn’t working perfectly and got that all taken care of. Within the next couple of months, it had the issues that were discovered. The tech was amazing and very professional. He found the issue immediately. He knew exactly was he was looking for. He was very communicative with me, let me know the ETA, and gave me an opportunity to get home from work which is a 45-minute drive. He had a cancelled appointment and we were able to do it earlier, but he gave me such notice that I could get there. It was as smooth as it could possibly be and it was different within five minutes after he left.

    They are a company that American Home Shield should stick with because the communication is really great. They confirmed the appointment and the tech took the time to go ahead and text me and let me know he was en route. I don’t even think that this was a work phone. It might have even been a personal one. They are a good company and American Home Shield should be pleased that they've selected such a great third-party to handle their warranties.

    My husband did the claim from Saudi Arabia. That’s how easy it was. I'm doing all of this by myself until he can move back here, and it's a big deal when I'm working 12 hours a day and need to do something. For American Home Shield and their third-party to be that communicative and for the third party to allow me that latitude for getting there in 45 minutes mean the world to me. We were taken care of and it's important to me when people truly takes care of you.

    My husband does all these things. For him to not be here and to manage this from another company, and for it to be this easy and to work out this well is amazing. I'm in the service industry and ours don’t usually go this well or I hear all the negatives. And it truly, truly was seamless, flawless, perfect. Our house is 3 years old, and American Home Shield did come with the purchase of the home in December. We will renew and will let everyone know who we did it through and to make sure that everyone uses American Home Shield because the 2 times we've needed them, it was flawless. I appreciate the service so much.

Their representative was fine, but it was just that they had to schedule two times to come out and I had to leave from work twice. The contractor didn't bring the parts.     My fridge was leaking water and I didn't know where it was coming from. I’d come home and there’d be like pools of water on my floor. It was going on for about a couple of weeks before I made a claim because the first time it happened, I thought it might have been a spill or something and it didn't really happen too much again. Then we went on vacation and when we came back, there was water everywhere. My step-dad had come and looked, and it looked like the water drainage was overflowing. He wasn’t sure what was going on so I called American Home Shield.

    The contractor was very nice. He told me he had never seen that happen before, so he took pictures, sent them to his boss, and talked to his boss to find out what the issue was. It took him probably a half hour or so to repair it. My fridge was 11 years old. From being back against the wall and everything from dirt, dust, and buildup, the compressor wasn’t able to work like it was supposed to. It has to evaporate the water. He basically just wiped it down, cleaned it off, and I haven’t had any issues.

    Our air conditioning unit outside stopped working. It's an old air conditioner and it's a Concord. We submitted a claim with AHS and when the contractor came out, they replaced the fuse and got it running again. But on the next day, it died again. They came back out and said there was no fixing it, so they replaced it. I enjoyed the service and the guys that came out here did a good job. However, I've been told that if you set your air at 71, it stays 71. But when it’s extremely hot, it still doesn't seem to be able to keep up. Right now, it says 74 and it’s set on 71. It’ll probably go up to 75 then after the sun goes down, it’ll drop right back down to 71 where I have it set. I don't know if that’s normal or not because I’m not an AC guy but even a couple of AC people that I know say that when it’s that hot, no air conditioner is going to keep up completely.

    One of the techs also checked the Freon and he came back out again after they put the new unit in. Apparently, the guy who put it in quit, so he came out and he turned the air handler up to high. It was set low before he came and he said I'd be good then. Other than that, as far as having American Home Shield is concerned, I had a good experience. Although I find it difficult sometimes to understand who I’m talking to and I’m not a prejudice person at all. But I don't have a problem with anyone from anywhere and all in all, I was really pleased and I’m gonna renew my contract with AHS.

    Our sink was stopped up really bad. American Home Shield sent out Matt's Plumbing within a day after I submitted the claim online. This turnaround time is pretty rare, and that was wonderful. The plumber solved the problem without going overboard with it. Because sometimes the contractor would come out and say they would need to replace things, but the plumber was not that way at all. He took care of the problem and was very professional. Matt's Plumbing was an all around great company in general.

    The AC was blowing but it wasn't getting cool. I filed a claim with American Home Shield online and ACE Heating & Cooling came out in three days. The guy that came out was awesome. He was very thorough and he explained everything. Then, when he said he didn't have the part, he didn't say, "Hey, I'm gonna come back in a couple of days." He said, "If they get that part in the shop today, I'm coming back today to get the air running." And he did just that. Everything has been fine since. I love the idea of American Home Shield.     So far, the people that came out through American Home Shield have done really good work. All Brand Appliance Repair came out for my stove that wasn’t heating up. Filing the claim with American Home Shield was very easy. I called it in and the guy that did the work was outstanding. All Brand came within about a week, and the contractor made sure the work was done right. He did the stove, and then he also did the dryer that went on a blank. It wouldn’t work and he fixed it, and it runs perfectly.

    I talked to an American Shield rep about my AC issues and at that time, United Air Temp Inc. couldn't get to us until the next week. I told her that I needed someone before then if possible. I have an infant. It was the weekend and it was supposed to be over 90 degrees. The rep was kind enough to refer me to the Bennett company. She told me to call them and find out when they could come out. I called and the receptionist there asked how many units I had to which I answered I had three. She said she didn't consider that as an emergency and she was not going to send anyone out until sometime next week. She said that if she had known that was the situation, she wouldn't have accepted American Home Shield's request.

    According to her, my situation was not an emergency because some people don’t have air. That was even before I could say, “You don’t even know my circumstances. You don’t know if I’m a tenant. You don’t know if I just have access to this area where the unit is broken.” She just shut me out and was very abrasive. I thanked her and said I would be notifying American Home Shield about how our conversation went and anybody else that I could talk to. She said goodbye and just hang up.

    I went online and put that information. I called American Home Shield back and asked that I get United Air Temp Inc back because it looked like I was not gonna be able to get anyone out on the weekend, which was a Friday. That’s when United Air came out. They came out that morning and they were very professional. They were timely, understood the problem, addressed the problem, and answered any questions. The tech was very patient. Everything got taken care of and so far, the unit has been good.

    I would not recommend Bennett. The company itself may have been good but their receptionist was so nasty. She shut me down. I couldn’t believe she would talk to a customer like that without even knowing the circumstances or giving me a chance. I would like American Home Shield to make some type of recommendation. If they could put that in the record, I’d appreciate that.

    My most recent claim experience with American Home Shield was great. It was easy to get a hold of them. They called me back. I was happy with the contractors. They stayed in touch with me and fixed my problem. My air conditioning was, at times, cutting on and cutting off. They told me and showed me what the problem was when they fixed it. It was a bad emergency cut off switch. My AC has been performing great since the repair. No problem at all even with the 100-degree temperatures we've had. I've had absolutely no problem with American Home Shield since my wife and I started using them. This will be the second full year. So, we'll be starting our third year with them in December.

    This last time that we had to call American Home Shield, the experience was fine. The guy from Carolina Appliance did fix the stove within a couple of days. It was just one burner on the stove that needed to be fixed. But back in October, after the hurricane, we had all kinds of problems and it wasn't because of the hurricane. Our refrigerator was not working and our water heater was busted. It happened on a Friday and my husband called. We never had any service ‘til the following Thursday and their answer was it was not listed as an emergency. The guy from Carolina Appliance came out on a Wednesday. He couldn't fix it 'cause he had to go get something so it never got fixed ‘til Friday. The guy with the water heater came out on Thursday, came back with the water heater on Friday, but he came back with the wrong one. It was a nightmare and I wouldn't recommend American Home Shield.

    They advertise on TV that people came the same day for the woman saying her refrigerator went out and for the other lady saying the hot water went out. The woman with the refrigerator said she got $150 check for the food that was destroyed in the fridge. I was never repaid and no one even offered to do that. When they say that you call and they come within 24 hours, that's a load. We never even heard back from anybody after we called on Friday until like Tuesday. And we had the phone number of the person from Carolina Appliance. We kept calling and calling and calling. Nobody answered. There was no answering machine, no nothing. He did fix my stove. He had to go get a part but he came back the next day. He called the day after we called American Home Shield. But nobody's ever called the same day. It just doesn't happen.

    I’m hoping that nothing else goes wrong. Our person that does the maintenance on our air conditioner and heating system said that we've got the builder's special in here and we've been here 12 years. He said a lot of people in this neighborhood have already had theirs replaced. We know that that's going. We're gonna need a whole new system because this system is not in business anymore, and I am afraid to use American Home Shield for that.

    My VAC went down and I called American Home Shield. They were nice, but I’m gonna leave them and go with another company. It takes days for somebody to come out. They finally brought somebody out and the guy said, “I don’t work on a split. You’re gonna have to call somebody else.” So, I called back and I told AHS, and they said, “We’ll try to get somebody right out.” The next person came out and said the same thing. That was four days without the air conditioner. I got another company come Friday and the tech opened up the AC, and he said, “This isn’t even split. It’s just an old unit that looks like a split. They didn’t even open it up and look.” So, I had to go five days without an air conditioner. Twice, AHS should've sent somebody out that did that.

    I had a claim a couple of weeks ago for my dryer and that was taken care of, but when my air-con was leaking, American Home Shield got somebody to come in and his performance wasn’t very good. He said the thing was not seated correctly and on reporting of an incorrect fault, AHS decided they weren’t going to pay it. Their support was appalling. I got somebody else in, it cost $125 to clean the AC and that was it. I’ll be terminating my contract with AHS.

    My experience with American Home Shield has always been pleasant and very professional. They're also quick to respond so it's always been good. I filed a claim online for my refrigerator and I prefer that method to calling because American Home Shield responds right away with an email that says what company will be calling me to set up an appointment. But when I've dealt with their representatives, they've always been good as well. They're very helpful.     I called in a claim around the 4th of July and it took longer than I hoped. It took me forever to get wherever I was trying to get when I made the phone call. And you just have to keep trying. But it is what it is. We had a different warranty company on a different house that we own in another state where we used to live, and American Home Shield is so much better than the other one. The contractor told me ahead of time when they would be here, and they came exactly when they said they would. I would’ve liked it if they could’ve come sooner, but they couldn’t. But they did a real good job and they were real nice folks. It was hard to call American Home Shield and they should make it easier to go through the recording thing. But they did a good job and I'm very pleased.

    The dishwasher was clogged. Golden Appliance Repair came out in a day and that one went well. The contractor was personable, got to the job, fixed it right away, and pretty much went straight to the point. Everything is working fine now. Submitting claims online to AHS is just simple, like straight to the point. But I’ve had some issues before where sometimes I just need to talk to a representative before filing a claim. I’ve called a couple of times and I’ve gotten people in a foreign country. And they had put me on hold twice and disconnected the call. Not with this particular claim, but I’ve had a not so good experience with American Home Shield. And I’ve had AHS in three different properties and there's been a bad experience.

    We couldn't turn off the hot water and it just kept running. I called that in to American Home Shield and they called a company. They told me it would cost $850 out of my pocket to fix the issue.     American Home Shield is okay. But there was a time when my microwave stopped working. When the technician came, he said that he needed to order a spare part. That took some time until I followed up in like a month. They said the spare part was still not available. It took us three months waiting for the spare part. I kept on calling but nobody was telling me that the spare part was taking time.

    It's hard when you don’t have a microwave. I had to buy a smaller one and we used that temporarily. American Home Shield couldn't come up with the spare part and nobody could tell me why it took that long to let me know that the spare part was not available although I keep on calling. I ended up buying another microwave that would fit our cabinet. I was asked to pay something but how could I pay something if nothing was even done?

    For our most recent claim, our AC suddenly stopped getting cold. I called American Home Shield and they sent out Austin Heating and Air. The gentleman who came was punctual and professional. He explained what happened and also gave some tips about how to take care of the AC. For now, our AC is doing fine. No problem so far.

    Your call center is TERRIBLE. And RUDE. How can I get someone in America to call me back for a simple add on to my current work order. I have WASTED an hour of my day fighting with people who don't understand a word coming out my mouth. It's VERY FRUSTRATING. This is the second time I had to deal with them. Both times TERRIBLE.

    We got this home warranty when purchasing our house. After over 2 years for about $34/mo plus service charges of $75 per visit, it was a total waste of money. Long wait times for over the phone customer service. We had a plumbing issue "fixed" twice by two different services providers and still had to hire outside their network to get it fixed properly. Every service provider they assigned us had poor customer reviews and we were afraid to use them especially since the plumbing was not fixed correctly. We requested HVAC service, and upon reviewing the company they were going to send out, we decided to cancel it.

    When cancelling our contract on June 7th, 2019 they still charged for the entire month of June and did not give us a partial reimbursement, then I was contacted by email July 8th saying our payment was past due, even though I canceled! So I contacted them again, and they charged a cancellation fee of $5.44. I asked if they can waive it since we had such poor service and still got charged for the entire month of June, but they still wanted their fee. The VERY LEAST they could have done after such terrible service was to waive that tiny fee. Would never recommend this company. They do not value their customers.

    First AHS sent a company to repair my HVAC. The company told me on 3 separate occasions that they were coming to my home, so I lost 3 days of work. I contacted AHS. They did nothing, so I cancelled my policy - this was January 2019. In March 2019, I get a call that my account is past due. I tell them I cancelled my policy. They say they are notating the account. July 2, 2019 I get a letter from them that they are cancelling my policy and referring my account to collections. I call and they tell me I owe them January to July. I explain to the person on the phone the situation.

    After 45 minutes of research she tells me there is nothing she can do. I ask for manager. She says manager will tell me same thing. I insist. She says she will refer me to escalation department. I am put on hold for 27 minutes. She comes back to tell me she is still trying to reach the escalation department and hangs up on me. I call back and ask to be transferred to escalation department. After explaining the situation to the person on the phone, they put me on hold and then come back and hang up. I will NEVER do business with them again. I signed up today with another provider.

    First, they only send out the bottom of the barrel repair people. When you look up the people they send out you see 1/5 wish I could rate 0/5 reviews. The people they send out are truly horrible! Second, there is almost no way to talk to anyone live. Most times the phones are not answered. If you do get someone live they can not speak English. Everything is all done through a website that more times than not is malfunctioning. Third, you have no control over who they send you. I asked them not to send a specific company and I was told, "Too bad. So sad. That is who we send."

    Fourth, we canceled our contract after being with the company for many many many years when putting up with their bad service and horrific website and bad companies got to be too much and they had the nerve to charge us $65 for canceling the contract. Just this weekend we had to refix a faucet that we paid a $65 co-pay to a company to fix early this year. Also, We told them to cancel the company they wanted to send us to repair our fridge because we did not want to deal with that company and they charged us $65 co-pay and the company never even showed up!! Avoid this company like the plague.

    I’ve had AHS for several years. Really haven’t had the need to engage them for work orders. As of July 2019 I had to engage them three times in four months due to my ac unit not working properly. They were called March, May, and again in July. The same issue report each time and the same company sent to complete the repairs. Each time I was charged for a service call and as if today, it’s the same issue before. If the issue can’t be fixed, shouldn’t the unit be replaced. I’m now on hold with customer service for more than one is assisting.

    I have had American Hom Shield Warranty for about 16 months and this is the second time I've submitted a service request. It is the middle of the summer and my a/c unit went out. I requested service early in the morning on July 5th. I'm aware this was a Friday after the 4th of July but it is the middle of the summer and my children are dying from the heat. I finally received a call from technician/vendor on Sunday saying they will be out on Monday morning. Monday morning; they cancel due to the weather and will re-schedule.

    What does the weather have to do with repairing my a/c unit??? Please tell me? So I called American Home Shield requesting a new vendor/technician. They will not accommodate saying the vendors have 48 business hours to make the first contact. These are life and death situations when you do not have ventilation in your home so 24 - 48 hours wait is entirely unacceptable. And a company that cannot handle exceptions to the rules or escalation points is not worth the trouble. I tried to cancel the contract and they claim I'd have to pay fees rather than receive a refund.

    I do not recommend this company. They are not there for you when you need them and that is the whole point of a home warranty. In fact, I'm of the opinion that you should not use home warranty plans at all. They are useless and try to use the cheapest parts and labor possible. Entirely not worth your money. I'm stuck in a catch twenty-two at this point as I prefer to cancel and call my own technician but I am not OK with having to pay additional fees to cancel this absolutely horrible warranty plan. Please do yourself a favor and just say no to American Home Shield Home Warranty plans.

    I purchased this agreement 3 years ago to cover my parents house in Annandale, VA. My parents are aging and found it difficult to keep up on repairs as before. The experience we had with this company and the contractors supporting Annandale are horrible and non professional or even knowledgeable in repairing washer and dryers, ranges or A/C was severely lacking and all the cases the contractor was never able to find a and in the case of the AC repair they made it worse. We had to call contractors we knew and trusted outside of the program.

    We finally had enough and cancelled the contract. No apologies just a “ok let’s cancel”. On top of that we we received two emails threatening going to collections for a 3 dollar admin fee to cancel. When I called customer support on why we were being charged this fee I got a Customer Service rep who proceeded to read a paragraph from the agreement that justified why they could charge an admin fee. Don’t go anywhere near this company if you want a good customer focused company.

    Absolutely horrible for AC repair in Nebraska. Have been paying on a contract for over a year, FIRST service call I place, for an AC, had to be authorized for an outside contractor, that I had to call and set up an appointment myself. I do not recommend!!!!

    On May 22nd, 2019 I scheduled a service call with AHS for my Free Standing Ice Maker. First, they assigned a Technician, which, after I called to set the appointment told me that they did not service Freestanding Ice Makers. I called AHS and told them and they assigned a new company, which, effectively, scheduled a service call for Memorial Day - May 27th, 2019. The technician came and looked at the ice maker and first stated that he would need to order some parts in an effort to fix the ice maker and later stated that it was leaking Freon and that he would not order the parts, since AHS´ policy with Freon leaks is to report it and then they would send another company to verify the original diagnosis and then determine necessary repairs. To this date and after 7 calls into AHS on the matter, in theory, the original technician "has not" provided a diagnosis, so AHS cannot assess what's necessary.

    Each call made, the call center told me that AHS was working on the matter and that it had been escalated accordingly and that within 24 hrs I would get a call from AHS. After each call and certainly more than 24 hrs later, no call was received from AHS and I had to call, go through the same explanation again, spend more than 40 minutes on the phone and no resolution. On the latest call, the Rep told me that we would have to wait and I told him that more than 1.5 months after placing the original order, I´m still waiting on their selected contractor to complete their work and that I would have to wait, unless I wanted to pay for another service call, to which I responded "absolutely not, because I´m not responsible for their contractor´s mistakes and that I do not pay or select their contractors, I pay them to get this resolved". I need to get this resolved and to date, all I´ve heard from AHS are excuses and no effort on their end to work on a resolution.

    I submitted a request for service, paid for the service call and a technician came out two days later. In the five minutes he spent at my home, he removed an inspection cover, jumped a wire tot the main board, then reinstalled the inspection cover. He said there were Non-OEM Parts installed and he would need approval before he could begin repairs. I was told AHS would contact me with-in two days. I called AHS two days later and was told my claim was being reviewed and I would be contacted once a determination was made. Another two days went by and again I contacted AHS. They told me my appliance was not covered because there were wires cut and that is not covered. Six days without a refrigerator and not so much as a callback.

    I immediately called a local appliance repair and they came out the same day. They diagnosed the problem as being a blown fuse. After agreeing to pay $250 they had my fridge working within 20 minutes. There were no cut wires and all the parts were factory parts. I received a letter two weeks later stating that my refrig would no longer be covered under my warranty plan, until needed repairs were made. There is no appeals process and you can't get through to anybody but an answering service which is reading from a script. Thoroughly dissatisfied. Save your money. This service is a total scam.

    My garbage disposal had a crack in it and it was leaking underneath the sink. Total Plumbing was sent by American Home Shield. They were in and out with the removal and new installation in like 15 minutes. They worked very well, too. Everything's perfectly fine now. I expected the claims process to be a lot more lengthy than it was. Also, I can do the claim online, but I felt more comfortable doing it on the phone.

    I submitted a claim to AHS for a GE refrigerator. The freezer part was not freezing and it was barely cool on the bottom. It wasn’t staying cold, and I was losing my food. Appliance 911 came and it was perfect service. That was a good experience for me. It took a day or two and they were here. And that was unusual ‘cause I can’t say the same on other circumstances. The time before that with another contractor, something happened and it was some kind of emergency and things do happen. So, we were delayed for three days. I just wish all of them were like Appliance 911. I would recommend AHS anytime. I just wish if something else happens, they would just still keep the same company.

    The air conditioner wasn’t kicking out any cold air and I called American Home Shield on the phone. The young gentleman from First Choice Heating & Air came out on time and he was very polite and genuine. He checked everything out and it needed more Freon so, he filled it up and it has been working fine. He was a very nice young man and he did the work within 15 minutes and left. So, it was a very good experience. AHS has been very prompt. The plunger system in the guest bathroom went out on Sunday and so, I called and set up an appointment again. A different young man came out this morning, showed up on time and it took him 15 minutes to replace the plunger system. He was very much a gentleman and he was very cordial. So far, I've been very pleased with AHS. I have four decades of insurance experience and so I'm very much familiar with the claims process. It's a lot easier now than it used to be.

    Generally, I've had a great experience with American Home Shield. However, I had an issue with the plumber who came out the last couple of times. I had a faucet and the valve was stuck. Moreover, the crystal handle on it broke because the valve was so hard to pull out. I called American Home Shield but then the plumber they assigned never got back to me. They said that the claim was denied because the faucet was taken apart and there were parts missing. None of that was true. Though the faucet was actually taken apart, the screw, cap, and the broken handle were still there. It would have taken me less than a minute to put it back on. I ended up having someone else replace the faucet since the process took a couple of weeks. It was the faucet in the master bathroom, and we needed to use it. It just took forever to hear back and then when we did, it wasn’t good news, so we just went ahead and got it done.

    The same plumber came out on my next call to American Home Shield. As my skinny little nine-year-old son was turning off his shower that has one of the pull-out handles, the handle broke. That was the original handle in the house when we moved in and we've been at this location for 23 years. When I called that plumber yesterday, their rep said that American Home Shield denied the claim because they said that the handle was abused. Now, I could abuse something, my wife might even be able to, but I pretty much doubt my nine-year-old kid taking a shower is gonna abuse the handle.

    I have since talked to the owner of Rapp Plumbing because I'm so unhappy with them and I wanted to make sure they never send their tech Joseph out to my house again as he was responsible for AHS' denial of my claim. Now, I have a different plumber coming out to do work because it didn't work out with American Home Shield initially. I got a request in and they're sending someone else out to do some work for me tomorrow to get everything good.

    Recently, I talked to reps from American Home Shield and had a bit of difficulty understanding them trying to tell me about why they weren’t gonna replace the faucet. It was a matter of being able to understand broken English. I did not even get that info from them and instead got it from the plumber when I called them. Still, AHS has been great overall and they haven't denied any of my claims in the past.

    In the few times that I’ve had claims open, American Home Shield has always been very responsive and it's been a pleasurable experience. We recently had a pool pump that wasn’t functioning properly and Silver Valley Pool and Spa had to come out. It turned out that the pump itself wasn’t damaged. It just had an inactive use. The tech was able to prime the pump and get it working, which I thought was great and it saved me a few thousand dollars. I was extremely happy with that. The work was excellent and I would definitely look to have them come out again if we have any issues in the future.

    Overall, my experience with American Home Shield has been good. I haven't had any issues as far as claims being denied directly. We just had one instance where it was denied last year, but it was more of my fault that I delayed in getting the bill submitted and they declined to pay that. The only issue that I have is that the contractors that are selected within American Home Shield's network are typically not from the town I'm from, so they have to drive two and a half hours in order to service us, which is not a good thing especially if they're not able to repair.

    The contractors within their network are the ones that are typically just looking to get started as a new contractor instead of an existing contractor, so they're able to accept the lower rate to pay. Also, it is never the same contractor with American Home Shield. There were a lot of contractors that had been part of the American Home Shield list in the past, but they have declined to work with them going forward for whatever reason.

    When my air conditioner wasn't blowing out cold air, I submitted a claim but having the contractor out took longer than normal because of the logistics of those contractors that typically need to drive over two hours. They're not gonna drive two hours for one customer, so they will try to schedule multiple customers in that area on a given day. In doing so, it could be a week or two weeks before it's looked at. It took about a week for the contractor to come out, but they were able to repair it the same day. It was very unusual and I was surprised by that because I thought they would get out here, diagnose it, then they would have to order a part, and wait for it to come in. But the air conditioner is working good ever since the repair.

    The icemaker on my refrigerator wasn’t working. The fellow came out and he was very good. He told me I needed a new icemaker and he ordered a new one. They sent it to them from the Sub-Zero company. He came out with it but it didn't fit so he had to send it back. They sent him another one, and that one didn't fit either. My husband drinks a lot of water with ice in it. My dog likes ice cubes and he was missing it ‘cause he kept going over by the refrigerator and he just sits there. Finally, the third time was a charm. They sent him another new icemaker. He brought it out in a box, opened it, and thank god that one fit. And it does seem to be working okay.

    We’ve used this company, All American Appliance, before. The technician that comes out, Mark, was trained. On the Sub-Zero refrigerator, he told us the exact year of our particular machine. He really knows how to fix it. We had a few people come out from American Home Shield. They suggested those companies, and they didn't know how. They would tell us, “Well, your insurance company doesn't cover it, and it’s gonna be thousands of dollars.” I said, “But how do you know? You didn't even call American Home Shield. You just walked into my house.” As soon as they found out it was a Sub-Zero, everything changed. They wanted to change all kinds of parts and do all kinds of things.

    We found Mark and he did a second opinion a few years ago for us. And the first fella said, “Well, you’re gonna need thousands of dollars’ worth of work, and I have to change all these parts and your insurance doesn't cover it and everything.” Mark came out and he said he was really familiar with the refrigerator. He looked in there and said all I needed was a new timer” It’s like a $30 part which for a Sub-Zero refrigerator is really cheap. He ordered the new timer for the freezer part, put it in, and it worked like a charm.

    I hope that All American Appliance stay with American Home Shield because if there’s a problem with my refrigerator, I don't want anyone just coming out. As soon as they see it’s a Sub-Zero, even though it’s an older one, they just go nuts and just tell me I need thousands of dollars and insurance doesn't cover it, even though they’ve never even called American Home Shield. They just walk in the door. But All American Appliance is very good. I’ve asked them if they do plumbing but unfortunately, they don't. Some of the plumbers that have come into our house have been awful. I am hoping to find an honest plumber. When contractors tell you all kinds of crazy things and that they're not covered, that’s when it gets to be really strange. But All American Appliance doesn't do that, especially this technician, Mark. I wish all appliance people were like them though some of the other people have been good too.

    American Home Shield is a very good company. It’s not their fault when some of these technicians come out and they're not too great like some of the plumbers that we’ve had. They always send out someone right away. It’s just that some of them say it’s not covered so they can charge you which my husband says is a bait-and-switch system.

However, from last year when it came to air conditioning, it was not timely and there were a lot of loopholes that we had to go through.     Everybody who helped me set up my claim was wonderful. My air conditioning wasn't working and I contacted American over the phone. Metropolitan Heating & Air came out that same week, very soon after I called. They had made the arrangements and the guy who came out was beyond efficient. He was young and super sharp. We were pleased. He figured out the issue within his first five minutes then he was certain that he would be able to find the part, and he did. He called me within two days, saying he got the part. Then he asked whether I was home and if he could come by and do it then. It was amazing. He got the air conditioning done and working before it got hot. It's running like a charm now. It's absolutely perfect.

    That same week, I recommended American Home Shield to my mother-in-law. She was asking me about it and I told her how pleased that I was. I encouraged her to look for them on the internet and gave her the 800 number. The guy from Metropolitan also came out for one other issue, for our furnace. We've had several other companies look at it but again, he was able to identify the issue within five minutes and fix it. He was amazing from beginning to end.

    I filed a claim with American Home Shield when my thermostat was not working. I did it online. So the claim was very quick. Also, the response was very quick. But the time for the first visit took one week. It is summer, so it is okay. But if it is winter in Minnesota, that would have been a challenge. The guys who came were professional and decent people. There were three issues. One was the furnace, and the furnace guy wanted me to set up a call with an electrician. And the electrician came very quickly. It took a long time to get the issue fixed, but the people are good and the experience was good as well.

    We had a power surge at the house during a storm, and our dishwasher's control unit got basically fried. So, the repair guy that AHS sent came in, and he determined that it needed a new board and set off to order it. And two weeks later or so, it came in. He came in and installed it. There were no issues. He was really good. Everything is still working just fine.

    I just bought a house and I was having it re-keyed. Originally, I called AHS to file a claim but I went online to follow up when nothing was happening. At first, they assigned one guy but he could not seem to make it out. Once they kinda figured out that he wasn’t showing up, they already charged me then they gave me another contractor who showed up right away and did a really good job. He was very helpful, too. There were a couple of deadbolts that he couldn’t get unstuck, so he went the extra mile. I said I’d buy new ones and he said he’d come back, then he came back and put new ones in because he couldn’t get the old ones to work. So, that was awesome because I really wanted to get that taken care of. So far, everything has been working excellently since the repair.

    I've been with AHS for a month now and I liked my experience with the re-key thing. There were some glitches, but it all came out good in the end. I also thought that that was a really good benefit. I've heard that sometimes it takes a while for things to happen or to get repaired with AHS but we’ll wait and see. Hopefully, I won’t need much attention.

    A compressor sensor stopped working and the air conditioner was blowing hot air. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and the contractor came out the day after. He did a good job and got it repaired the same day. He was special and the interaction with him was excellent. Since the repair, everything is functioning as designed.     My air conditioner was a mess. It sounded loud and it wasn't heating. I called AHS online and their rep tried to connect me to the girl that would handle my claim. The line was busy, but she did the best she could. Thereafter, the first tech came out but then he just looked at the problem and left. The second tech came out afterward, explained things and fixed everything. After the repair, the air conditioner is still loud. Still, the second tech said that was the way it was supposed to be and that the part they put in would make it sound louder.

    I’ve had to call American Home Shield on various different products, and they’ve been nothing but great. We would highly recommend. All Appliance Parts had to come out for my claim on an ice maker on a Whirlpool refrigerator. I did the claim online and American Home Shield's process was easy. We had five contractors altogether. They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the refrigerator and why the ice makers wouldn’t work. Home Shield sent a different company. Finally, Home Shield sent a guy who knew right away that the problem with the ice maker was that the water lines were freezing up. So, now, we have paperwork and Home Shield replaced the refrigerator. I paid $200 more in what they were giving to get a little bit better model. They didn’t have anything that I wanted. So, I did a cash-out option and I’m just waiting for a check now.

    I call American Home Shield over the phone, and they take my claim immediately. I had a couple of issues that started at the same time, so I’m grateful I have them. When my stove was not working, they decided on a new unit and I got it. Also, I had an issue going on with my bathroom and a part was needed, so that was ordered, and the techs are coming tomorrow to fix the problem. I have an issue with my garage door too.     I did an AC claim with American Home Shield. At first, it was blowing air, but the air wasn’t as cold as it should’ve been in my upstairs unit. And then, it started making a really loud noise, so we shut it off and set up the appointment. The weird part about it was the air started not getting cool, so we put in a claim. And then, later on that evening, it felt cool again. So, I cancelled the first request. Then, a day later, it came back again, so I filed another request. I did the first claim over the phone. The other one was online. I’m glad AHS has other options than knowing your contract number because usually, I’m not sitting in front of my contract to know the number. So, once I realized there was a workaround online to not have to necessarily know your contract number, then that’s an easier way for me to do it.

    The guy that came out was really good. But I don't think he was proactive as much as he could have been. I spent nine years in the HVAC business, so I kind of know some of the stuff. But I knew at least part of the problem was up in my attic, and my wife, because of my knee, doesn't allow me to go in the attic anymore. So, I couldn’t really go out and look at it myself. So, when the guy came, I said, “So, it first started blowing air that wasn’t cold, and then, it started making a noise like a freight train up there.” And I figured either of these could be in the blower or the whole blower assembly. Something was going on with it. So, it was out of whack. I thought running it more was only going to make it worse, and that was why we shut it off. And so, we just put fans. You can take a fan and pull air from the downstairs and blow it upstairs. We did that to get by until we could get the guy to come out.

    The guy was able to fix everything but I kinda had to coach him a little bit. He came and he fixed the blower and he replaced the motor and the squirrel-cage. He came down out of the attic and he put a hand in front of the vent, and it was kinda cool but not very cool. All the ducts are up in that hot attic, so I know it takes a little while to blow the hot air out. But I told him I was glad that he took care of the noise problem. It sounds really normal again. I also asked him if he should put his gauges on the outside unit just to make sure that we were getting enough cool. So, he went out and he put the gauges on it. And sure enough, we had a leak in the Schrader valve on the outside unit, and we had lost four pounds of Freon.

    He explained quickly what the charge for Freon is and what American Home Shield covered. And I said, “I understand that, so, just go ahead and change the valve, put the Freon in it, and I’ll pay the difference to you guys.” So, that was what we did, and it’s been working great ever since. He was very accommodating. He just wasn't really super proactive. I don't think he was necessarily as thorough as he could’ve been and had I not been there, it wouldn’t have gotten fixed completely. But his demeanor was really good. It was like 120 degrees up in that attic and he didn't have a complaint. He didn't wanna take anything from us. He was telling us he had to go do exactly the same thing on his next call. And I said, “You need some water. You need to get hydrated.” So, I gave him some water.

    He was a really nice guy and the overall experience was really good. He was on time. When he told us something, he was exactly where he needed to be, and he called us ahead of time to let us know he was on his way. I managed techs for seven out of the nine years I was in HVAC, and I think their company has a good procedure in place on how they do things. And he seemed to follow it. It’s just that he wasn’t very instinctive. I think he just thought, “Okay, now it doesn't make that noise, so I’m good.” But in essence, I know my technicians would have never left the facility without putting their gauges on it to make sure it was working properly. Still, I wasn’t dissatisfied at all.

    I am trying to get a compressor put into my air conditioner. First, Freedom Heating & Cooling came out and told me that I need a new compressor, that I needed 12 pounds of Freon at $100, so it's $1,200, and I would need modifications at $600. So a total of $1,800. Then, American Home Shield contacted me and said I needed 9 pounds of Freon. So right there, there was a red flag that Freedom Heating & Cooling is trying to charge me $300 for extra Freon. I sought American Home Shield to allow me to pay them another $75 to have another person come out and give me a second opinion. They told me upfront that if the second opinion is the same as the first, I have to use the first. I said I understand that.

    DCS Solutions came out and they said I need a compressor but I do not need the modifications which Freedom Heating & Cooling is charging me $600 for. So to me, Freedom Heating & Cooling was charging me for 300 more dollars of Freon and they got called out on it. And then, they were gonna charge me $600 for modifications that are not needed. So Freedom Heating & Cooling gave me a bid at $1,460 and DCS Solutions gave me a bid of $540. So it's 900 more dollars. I have 30 phone calls logged in to American Home Shield, and they said, "No, we know that it came back a different amount, but you still have to go with the first vendor." I said that it doesn't make sense. They know they're cheating me out of $900.

    So I haven't had air condition for six weeks. I've got pictures of my four Siberian husky dogs who are breathing heavy. I've got pictures of my thermostat showing 84 degrees in the house. I have to wet the dogs down. I turned them in to the BBB last Tuesday and said I just want DCS Solutions to be able to fix the air conditioner. And they have not approved it. I tried to send two certified letters to the president as well. That's what I've been going through for six weeks. I just think it's wrong that they want me to use a company that they know is charging me 900 more dollars.

    I've been a member of AHS for 10 years. And I have two houses that I have insurance with them. They're both their vendors. It's not like I was asking to use an outside vendor. DCS Solutions is their vendor as well. And I understand, if they have a commitment to that first company, and it came back the same. But it didn't come back the same.

    It has been an ongoing event with our air conditioning and that’s good that we had coverage with American Home Shield. My wife made a call to submit the claim and there’s always a lag time between the point of contact and a provider that we wished there was more of a response. The initial call went out to Advantage Refrigeration. A technician by the name of Mike came out and looked at it. It's an old unit and we were hoping that they would look at it and it was not worth the repair. But they repaired it. It took them a while to come back out after they evaluated to get it fixed because they had to order a part. It’s a busy time of year. I just have to say it’s not a fault of their professionalism and their service. The part took a while and then they came back out and serviced it with Freon. It seemed the part worked well.

    The second call was the end of May where the air conditioning went out again. American Home Shield made contact with Advantage and they called us back that very first day and had us on schedule the next day. Mike came out again and took care of the problem. It took him all but 10 minutes to troubleshoot, isolate, and replace the item that was malfunctioning. The unit is working fine since. The service, especially with American Shield coordinating it with the provider, was done great. Now, the air conditioning’s running. Even though it’s 17 years old, it’s still going. We’re happy it’s running at this time of year in Florida. I hope to continue the service after next year.

    My A/C unit went out 7/3. When I called AHS they said the earliest appointment was 7/9. I have called daily since the 3rd trying to get an appointment that is sooner as it is 90+ degrees in my house. Every time I call I get horrible customer service that cannot do anything to help me get a sooner appointment. One of the agents even offered me an appointment on 7/11 even though I have an appointment on 7/9. When I try to escalate to a manager or their escalation department they say there is no one there or the department is closed or they are busy. The funny thing is a neighbor's A/C went out of Saturday and they had a technician come out the same day because they did not have to go through a home warranty. Save your money and time and do not bother to get a warranty.

    I have been a member of American Home Shield for three years and always considered them to be the best investment I made after buying my home. But last April 8th, I called about my A/C which wasn't cooling. AHS sent out Houston Air Comfort to work on the unit. After 8 visits, faulty parts, and multiple mistakes from multiple technicians (while upcharging an additional $300), the A/C still is not working properly! When the A/C was "supposed" to be fixed, repairman Ken left my house without ever knocking to let me know. I went outside to find my A/C unit standing open, along with my breaker box. He hadn't even bothered to put all the screws back. He also left a Swisher Sweets cigar butt and cigar wrapper on the ground by the A/C.

    All that would be almost acceptable, if it were fixed. But it wasn't! I called on May 30th to try and get some help. AHS said the A/C company would be notified, but Houston Air Comfort never contacted me. When I was finally able to book an appointment through AHS, the technician NEVER SHOWED UP (in a 5-hour window!). And nobody called to let me know why. I tried calling "American" Home Shield multiple times to get help, but I was always connected with a site overseas whose only answer was to set up an appointment. I said this was pointless since the company did not show up even when they booked a visit. The supervisor "Rex" overseas told me that was my only option -- to wait for the appointment more than a week away. Then she cut me off with "Goodbye!!" (Click).

    So this time, I called Houston Air Comfort the day before to confirm my July 3rd appointment. I received email and text confirmations from them. I waited for that appointment window (1 to 6 pm) last Wednesday, July 3rd. But as I suspected, it was all a futile attempt. They didn't show up at all for the second time!! (June 21 & July 3) This is a service company?!

    I wake up every morning sweating, come home to an 80+ degree house and, for some reason, my electric bill is much higher than it's ever been. I have since gone online to Yelp and seen that Houston Air Comfort are infamous for this type of behavior. Review after review describes their upselling tactics, missing appointments, multiple technicians all saying different things EXCEPT all suggest paying them for expensive repairs. Why would AHS use this poorly reviewed (2 stars) company?!

    I want to reiterate that I have ALWAYS had wonderful service from AHS... until now. I just want AHS to send out someone else to fix my A/C. 3 months is WAY too long to go on without it! And I suggest they scratch Houston Air Comfort from their vendor list, as they are the worst service company I have ever dealt with in nearly 50 years on the Earth. --Scott **. Houston, Texas.

    We purchased this house on May 14th of this year and we've had American Home Shield since. They have been on top of the claims that we had put in and we’ve had a pleasant experience thus far. Our most recent claim was an electrical one for our microwave and our range oven. A couple of fans were not working. Submitting the claim was simply easy. As soon as we submitted the claim, American Home Shield emailed us with the service partner that was coming out to service the appliances. They responded in a very timely manner.

    The first time that the technician came, he told us what was wrong. He ordered parts and gave us an approximate date when he would return. He came as stated on the date. The parts were here.     Everything was perfect in my last claim with AHS. They did good job, so I gave a referral to my brother. Maybe he already signed for it, so I'm expecting to get $25. When I have a claim, I submit it online then the contractor texts me. I like that. I also recommended AHS to my neighbors who were talking on nextdoor.com. They talked about what service they should get then somebody mentioned American Home Shield and I told them I'm very happy with the service.

    I even compared AHS with the other warranty companies and I said that this company is good because they don't care with who or what. I have two air conditioning units and they're covering both. That's very excellent. I hear some people around me say that they got good response from AHS, too. They've been happy as well with American Home Shield. I see a lot of bad reviews online but my personal opinion is good because they're doing the repairs for us on rainy days. The one thing I'm hoping is not to go over $75 for the service fee. The last time they came over, the service was $75 worth and I've saved for it. So the warranty was helpful, but it was a small thing. They didn't have to fix much and therefore didn't have to replace anything.

    We had two different calls, so we were serviced by two different companies. For the first one, the technician showed up with greasy hands, commonly known as mechanic hands, and he left the dishwasher a mess, with grease spots all over, and then he even used my bathroom and dried his greasy hands on my white towel. He never even acknowledged that or apologized then. It was an awful experience and the issue wasn't resolved, so we decided not to continue working with the first company. The second company showed up, did the work within two working days, and we were very pleased with them. They’re excellent.

    7-H Home Services came out to repair issues with the refrigerator. The ice maker had stopped working and the freezer part was icing over. I filed the claim through the computer and I was told to expect the contractor to come out in a couple of days. 7-H Home Services solved the issue with the icing over on the freezer. It is still doing that but we haven’t called them back yet. We didn’t know if it was leftover ice in the fridge but then it’s growing more on some of the new stuff we've put on there. Nonetheless, the experience was good and in general, I've had positive experiences with American Home Shield.

    Our air conditioner was not working and it was the worst at this time of year, especially in Arizona. I submitted a claim online and it was super easy. Someone called the next day, and I was very surprised that I would highly recommend JJ’s Fire & Ice. I kept apologizing and appreciating the tech that he was out there on a Sunday, and he was very polite and nice. He wanted us to be comfortable. I got very lucky. He fixed the motor on the condenser and waited around for a bit to make sure everything was cooling down, then he noticed that there was some condensation building up on the copper pipe. He said that that wasn’t the only issue, so he went in the attic and found another issue up there. It’s hot down here now but after the repair, the AC is keeping up. If every call is that easy, we will keep American Home Shield.

    We called American Home Shield and told them we were having cooling problems with the air conditioning unit. I didn't go up there in the attic to observe that, I saw the outside line coming out of the house and the unit. I saw that it iced up, and from prior experience, I knew you had to turn the unit off. And we did that, and a couple of days later, I turned the unit off and let it stay off. And then, when we turned it back on, it cooled for about half a day, and then it stopped cooling. And that was when we made the call.

    The technician and the owner of Grady's Air Conditioning came out and identified the issue. The owner came because he was following up with his employee. And once it was identified, the owner explained what we needed to do. He identified it was the icing of the evaporator coil up in the attic. And he said they would come back and make the repair, because they couldn't do anything while it was still frozen. He gave us some instruction on what to do to get through the weekend, and we were not at the house for several days. And then, from Friday to Sunday, we were at a reunion, and when we got home on Sunday, what I was instructed to do was to run the unit for a couple of hours and turn it off and just leave it alone. So, that was what we did until the technician came out on Monday and he did his inspections and his testing and found that there was a leak on the unit upstairs.

    He made the repair that he could make, and put enough Freon in that unit to allow it to start cooling and working again. And that was done, and right now, it's cooling like it's supposed to and there's no issue. The repair worked. However, he said he couldn't guarantee how long it would stay that way. I was pleased with the work. I was home when the technician came out on that Monday, and he was very efficient. He explained the process that he was using to identify the problem. He knew from the icing of the upstairs, with his experience, what he thought the issues may be. So, having been a former refinery worker, some of what he was telling me, and as he was going about his business, indicated to me that he was knowledgeable and very experienced and professional in doing the work. I was very satisfied with the experience.

    The water heater was leaking and we needed it to be replaced. American Home Shield sent out a tech to look at it and diagnose it, and then he submitted the paperwork. The only thing I wasn’t too keen on was how long it took for them to actually replace the water heater. The contractor came back when everything was delivered for them to do the work. I thought I had a window between 9:00 and 11:00, but they showed up at 9:00 and they were done by 11:00. But it was disappointing that I had to pay money out of pocket for connecting it to the existing piping, which I thought was a little pricey. It was about $400 to connect four pipes and the exhaust fan. That just seemed a lot.

    I usually submit my claims online to American Home Shield. I'm fine with opening tickets and putting the comments in there. If it gets into more detail, then I will call in and discuss it with a representative from American Home Shield. I’m still dealing with one other ticket for an air conditioning issue, which they gave me out of band to leverage someone, and then they provided them information. We’re just waiting on verification of next steps. The person I talked to previously at American Home Shield did a great job helping me. She went back, got re-approval to have someone else look at it because I had multiple vendors come out and tell me it's right-sized, whereas one sales guy came out and said needed to be replaced. So I’m gonna listen to the guys who do the work and maintain the systems, who know the systems on a daily basis, versus the sales guy. So, at this point, American Home Shield did a great job.

    I enjoy American Home Shield and when I have claims, I mostly submit them online because it's easier to get onto the website. But computers sometimes don’t allow us to input notes and that’s the only thing I don’t like about going online. So sometimes, if the issue was a little bit more complicated that I need AHS to be aware of, I’d pick up the phone and speak to an actual person so they can put the notes in there for the technician that’s gonna come out.

    Recently, we had an issue with our pool and when we submitted a claim, the first company that came out lied to us. They said that we had animals that had eaten away certain things and that was why stuff wasn’t working. I also don’t like contractors that come out and give different information. While the tech was here, he told me that a transformer was out but he reported something completely different to AHS. So, I had a second opinion come out and this time, AHS sent Serene Pool LLC. Their tech looked at the situation and said that he didn't know why the other guy would tell me that. He said that the issue was in the wiring that’s under the ground. He was great and thorough with everything. He was honest as well with what the issue was and it was the same thing he told AHS.

    Other than that, when I renewed my contract, I was informed that AHS couldn’t renew the same contract. I told them that I only spent $2,000 total and asked why I could not renew. In the end, I was forced to go with a higher contract and that was the thing that angered me. But overall, I love American Home Shield. I just don’t like the fact that they penalized me for something that wasn’t actually happening and I don’t know why I couldn’t go back with the same contract I had.

    Haskins Heating came out for an unusual sound coming from the AC unit. At first, American Home Shield did not want to make the call but I expressed that there was something wrong. I wanted to get it taken care of before something more drastic took place. Within a day, they had Haskins Heating out. I went ahead and had the unit serviced while the technician was here, and I picked up the cost for that. I wanted to make sure that for several months, that sound that I heard was not something that was breaking apart. It took a while to explain and get approval for them to come out but everything turned out fine. They were extremely courteous and efficient. I'm very pleased with them.

    I have the warranty for peace of mind and it’s pretty affordable. It doesn’t cost me much of anything per month. I've used it several times throughout the four years that I've owned the home and every time I've used it, I've gotten the problem fixed. American Home Shield sends out somebody who is real professional and they work extremely diligently to get the problem resolved as quickly as they possibly could. I haven’t had a single issue with them at all so I've been overly satisfied.

    My refrigerator issues started on a Friday, and I had to wait over the weekend. The refrigerator was out for four days. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield but I couldn't get anybody in, and a few people cancelled the set appointments. So I didn't get the service in a timely manner. I have elderly parents in the home, and I have medicine in the refrigerator. There were also food that I had to disregard. I was near having to go into coolers. It was so bad. I had to run next door to borrow from my neighbor quick medicine in their refrigerator.

    I have an air conditioner with three digits going on that I couldn't get anybody out there. I realize it was bad timing and I should’ve probably asked about it before the summer. But having it be such a high-level concern, I thought American Home Shield would've expedited a lot faster. They should have more working people in the area rather than just depending on one or two people in our city limit. I was kind of shocked over all of that. I expected a lot more.

    I was real upset that they didn't have this extra expediting. They have sent the claim out to Philippines, and I was upset with the guy. I asked him why he couldn't just give me somebody that was in the next town. And he said that he was in the Philippines. I was kinda thrown off by them having to expedite everything to another country to take a note. They were only taking calls and then get back to the database, and then back to American Home Shield to let them know what they were doing, and then expediting from there. So, everybody just went home for the weekend. But I didn't feel that they were putting out for the consumer. Once it was the weekend, everybody just shut their doors and left us playing phone tag. I was arguing with people who had no control over it.

    The first guy from Mr. Appliance that came out for the refrigerator didn't even give me any work order. I kept waiting and waiting for him to come back, and it’s been about two months now. I don’t know if I should’ve expected that work order he never gave me. So far, the refrigerator is working, but there were some parts that were supposed to be delivered that haven't been yet. I notified American Home Shield about but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

    When I had an air conditioner issue, Air-One Mechanical came out and they did a very good job, except that the motor is vibrating so bad that it’s making extra noise. So, I called them again yesterday, and I'm waiting for people to return the messages. Overall, American Home Shield's warranty itself is good. It is convenient and wonderful. But I wish that they would give more of the help that is needed, like put out more clientele that could offer their business to us. When I hear the word "expedited", I expect this to be done within right now like it’s an emergency. I work in the medical field, and I’m used to being hands-on. And when people ask me something, I’m right to it, so I’m not used to being treated this way when that’s how I work.
