    American Home Shield's website was straightforward and my experience submitting a claim to them online for our AC was fine. An AC guy from Service Contractors of Texas came out to look at AC and determine what was causing the drips and the blockage. He very quickly figured out what was going on and solved the problem. He cleaned out the AC drip and the main excess water line as the secondary one was dripping. He showed me how he cleaned out with compressed air and checked the rest of the unit to make sure it was blowing properly. He was in and out in about 20 minutes. Since the repair, the AC has been working fine.

    The air conditioning was not cooling the house so I submitted a request to have it fixed. Somebody came out and it was an easy fix. He had all the parts. He fixed it and he went on his merry way. The guy was awesome and it was a great experience. When filing a claim, I really like speaking to people in America better than people in India 'cause I can understand them better. It's nothing against the people in India, it's just difficult to understand them and there's a cultural difference also. It's more robotic responses from the people in India than it is from the people in America who sympathize a little bit more.

    I just bought a house. I turned the light bulb over the sink and I heard a pop. Then it tripped the circuit. It turned out that it was just the bulb. And apparently, it was in there a long time. The contractor that AHS sent was great, but I was a little annoyed because I tried to turn the circuit on and off myself. It would've saved me $75 to come out just to change a bulb. But I never had a problem whenever I've called AHS for a claim. This is the second time. And I have to make another one because the garbage disposal doesn't even turn on. And I'm trying to see 'cause I don't wanna keep paying $75 for something as minute as like what happened with the light. I'm trying to figure out how am I gonna do this.

And my appointment with the contractor was the following day between 2:00 and 6:00. The contractor explained everything to me, and they're very thorough and fixed the issue right away.     The American Home Shield rep who helped me set everything up was very helpful. The dryer would not charge and The Repair Clinic was sent out. The contractor came out twice. The second time was shorter than the first time. The dryer wouldn’t work, but for each time that he was here, the dryer would work. I believe the problem is in the door because it had happened twice since his last time here and I would open the door and put a little more force on it, which I shouldn’t have to do. He was thinking it could have been a timing issue. And he said he was going to have American Home Shield check their records to see if they had any problems similar to mine. But I'll get back to him because he told me which number to call.

    I had a washer problem and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield over the phone. The contractor was out in a couple of days. Sometimes, they're not, but he was really good and he was a nice guy. He fixed it right away and he showed me what to avoid, so that it won't happen. It was shaking really hard and it was because I've got sheets in there and they were wrapped around it. When I put too much in it, it goes to one side and it starts rocking. So, he did a test run and showed me how to avoid it. Everything's working really good and I'm pretty happy with AHS although I'd like them to be cheaper.

    American Home Shield is very professional and I would recommend the company. When the AC was not working, filing the claim was an easy experience. I just called in and told them what was going on. They set me up with R&K Heating & Cooling and they contacted me the next day. Then the technician came out and checked out the AC then he told me what was wrong with it and he fixed it. We had it fixed within an hour which was good.

    I did some research a number of years ago and I wanted to find out who the most reliable and reputable companies were. Over and over, I heard American Home Shield was one of the best so I went with them. Recently, a handle broke off in my faucet in the kids’ bathroom and it was the spot behind the wall. I couldn’t get to it and I didn’t have the tools to reach, so I called AHS. The contractor was out within a couple of days and fixed it within half an hour. I pointed him to it and he said it would be easy. He made me feel comfortable and he knew what he was doing. He did a great job. AHS has always been very responsive and easy to use although I'd like the people that they assign to come out a little bit sooner than two days which seems to be a normal turnaround. Other than that, the experience has been excellent.

    I had roughly six repair orders done to our microwave and out of those, the last time, AHS finally warrantied it out because it almost caught fire. I have a house, children, a wife. As we were leaving out the door, the microwave turns on and just starts smoking. If we weren’t home, we would’ve come back to nothing because the technicians that they’ve brought in were irresponsible with dealing with this. I called it in and AHS had to send somebody out to double-check what I was saying. The guy looked at it and only took him five seconds and said that it was not fixable at all.

    It took two months for AHS to handle the situation. It’s a very long time with no microwave with children in the house. They were kind enough, but in due process, I almost lost a house, or worse, it could’ve been my children ‘cause this could happen at night time – over a microwave. It would be better if AHS can change some things and realize some of their vendors or people don’t know what they’re doing.

    I went online and did a claim for an air conditioning unit. An AHS representative booked a contractor to meet with me. That was an easy process. The contractor was pretty good. The only problem I had was the fact that I never got a response from the first contractor AHS booked me with within 48 hours of booking an appointment. I had to find a different company. Other than that, everything was repaired and taken care of. My AC has been working great.

    I have American Home Shield on my beach house and on rental property because they are so great. My tenant had a lot of issues and we had claims for plumbing, washer, and dryer, and AHS has been wonderful to deal with. They have been prompt. When my tenant had water coming through the ceiling and they got somebody out there the same day. I went with another company on my primary residence because that's what the Realtor had paid to give me as far as the warranty, but if I had to do it over again, I'd go back to AHS. So when this has to be renewed, I will not be renewing with the competitor. I'll be renewing with AHS.

    I always get though the line when I call to submit a claim. It has been quick and then the emails come through. American Home Shield has very good contractors. When I tell them that I would like to use this specific guy because he has been out to the house before, they always let me use that person. So that's an added benefit to having AHS as opposed to one of the competitors. On multiple occasions, I've told my mom and dad that they should put AHS on their home.

    I filed a claim for a fan system to blow the cool air from the air conditioning unit through the ductwork into the house. I didn’t specifically know which service to request on that one ‘cause it’s also tied into the heating so I called it in to American Home Shield. The contractor was great and did good service. He showed up on time and was cool with me just standing there watching him. I like American Home Shield's whole service. They benefit me a lot. The only thing was it was a little confusing trying to get the point across for this particular issue, but it was because it was a fan that has two different services and I didn't want to go through two different technicians.

    Our air conditioning had an issue one time and I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield. Though their process was pretty self-explanatory, there was a small glitch in the whole thing. There was nobody to service my area, which is very rural, so service took about seven days. AHS ended up calling Aire Serv in Waynesville, but getting to my location still was about a 30-minute commute for them.

    Aire Serv was amazing. I take care of my mother who is disabled and on oxygen. I told AHS about that and they got a hold of Aire Serv who then had a gentleman come finish the job and get my AC working that day once they were contacted. It was 6:30 when he got to my house and he stayed and made sure that everything was fixed. Everything has been good since the repair.

    I’ve been with American Home Shield for 21 years now. We get along together. I had an issue with my washer and when I did a claim with them over the phone, their rep's response was great. I had a little problem with service but I don’t think that was American Home Shield’s fault. It was mostly Sears. At first, there was a problem of them getting together with me to set up a date for them to come out here. They just texted me, or told me when they would be here. They were not giving respect to me whether or not I will be home or if I had something to do. We got that squared away, though. Somebody was just too lazy to do their job right over at Sears’ end. And after that, we were okay. Everything is great since the repair. They want to put in more money into it so I had to replace it. And I went and bought a new one, and then I sent in my receipt to Home Shield. Yesterday, I got my new washer. So everybody’s happy.

    I've already recommended AHS to people. One time, my kitchen sink was clogged and there was a leak. I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and the contractor whom they sent, South Tampa Pool and Spa came out. The techs who came in were very professional. They were late 15 minutes after the beginning allotted time but still they said they were gonna come in. They resolved the issue and were in and out three hours later. I haven't had any issues with the sink since.

    AHS is always great. We’ve had to use them a few times and their customer service and promptness are always awesome. Recently, they sent out Barlow Plumbing Service and they tried fixing the unit. They thought they fixed it but the issue came back and they tried to fix it again. They got with the manufacturer over and over again, then they got to a certain point that it was more economical to replace the unit, which again, they diagnosed for a while trying to fix it for us. Then they got it filed and the replacement unit is gonna be coming this Tuesday. In the mean time, we have a house full of seven, we’ve got 75 gallons, and everybody’s gonna use it sparingly. We gotta use this until Tuesday. All in all I’m a big advocate of AHS and I’ve tried to share them as well. I get that nothing’s perfect, but they do everything they can to get the contractors here. So, I can’t praise them enough.

    I initially submitted a service request because I thought there was a problem with my dishwasher. But on the evening before the dishwasher repair person was supposed to come over, I noticed that the leak was coming from the garbage disposal. I sent a video and a picture of it to the email that was confirmed. When the repair person came, I was told that they don’t deal with that issue so I had to have it dealt with separately. I contacted American Home Shield via phone directly. Customer service was perfectly nice and very helpful. Somebody was sent out for the garbage disposal and he was fantastic. Everything was tidy and orderly. The garbage disposal seems to be working perfectly now.

    The technician from ATR General Services was really knowledgeable, and the service worked out. We had some AC issue and he had to come back a second time, but the technician, George, was excellent. We really like American Home Shield. But we had an issue that was outstanding. It had nothing with ATR though, but we were having some problems with our washing machine, and American Home Shield kinda kept giving us the runaround. They kept wanting the same guy to come out to try to fix it. And he told American Home Shield that it's better to replace it. There's still slight problems there too. So, the guy recommended that it to be replaced. And American Home Shield kept telling him, "Get more parts. Do this, do that." And I think they wasted more money and more time getting him to come back out and putting parts in on a washing machine that needed to be replaced.

    American Home Shield does not want to replace things. Other than that, I like the ease of being able to call them. We're satisfied, but we didn't appreciate how that situation was handled. With the coverage that they presently have, American Home Shield is better than most. They cover things that other companies may not cover, and that makes them stand out amongst the competitors. And they don't play a lot of games too.

    CD's Appliances came out and replaced a motor on my refrigerator, the icemaker, then they did replace the switch on my cooktop and some handle on my refrigerator.     I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and said that there was a problem with my air conditioner. They contacted me saying that they would have somebody come out to look at it. A day later or so, we got a phone call from Adam's Air from Amarillo. They set up a time to come and take a look at the air conditioner. They determined that the issue was probably the contactor. However, my system is extremely old and the tech thought he wouldn't be able to replace the contactor. So, they went back and tried to find a part. However, they couldn't find one and so the tech talked to a supervisor and said that they needed to put a new contactor in my AC. A different technician came out the next day and replaced the contactor and since then the system has been up and running.

    We made an air conditioner claim with American Home Shield and we spoke to good reps. But the issue is not fixed all the way. The water’s still leaking. The contractors came twice, and the ones who came were both good. They said they fixed the problem but again, when my husband was up there, there is still water dripping. It’s not supposed to be dripping. They said the pipes needed to be flushed. They flushed it but the first guy didn’t flush it all the way so the second guy came and he flushed it. We don’t know what the issue is because it’s still not working. My husband is gonna call them today.

    I opened the oven up and the handle broke, and so the front of the oven came away from the inside of it. So, it was like two pieces. I went online to American Home Shield's website and filed a claim. The website was really easy to use. They sent GE Appliances and I got to pick when they were gonna come, and I was really surprised at how quickly they could come out here. They had to order the part so the contractor had to come back, but that was completely fine. I didn’t expect him to have all the parts that he needed because he needed to see what was wrong with it first. He was great.

    The oven is good as new after the repair. And my experience was very convenient and timely. A lot of times when you submit things for insurance like that, you’re like, “Oh, this is gonna take forever.” Who knows how long the oven is gonna be out. But it was really quick, and the technician was a really nice man. And I liked that I didn’t have to call anybody or fill out any paperwork. The form online was really easy to fill out, and I got to pick when they came and the time windows were reasonable.

    I like American Home Shield. The most recent claim we had with them was with our air conditioner. It was not working well. The company that was scheduled to come out didn't come out in the timeframe provided, but they did come out the same day. They didn't make it within their timeframe because they were coming from quite afar so we completely understand. They fixed our air conditioner which is on our roof.     Everything that is inside our house is covered. I’ve called American Home Shield three or four times now for different things. We’ve actually called them for the AC three times. Twice, it basically stopped pushing any cold air. The third time was for a drip underneath. We heard a dripping sound coming from underneath the air conditioning unit in the house and Kane Heating & Air Conditioning came out. They realized that the tube was clogged and they were able to fix that. There was another time when our dishwasher and refrigerator stopped running as well. So the coverage has been good. It’s covered pretty much anything we've needed. I didn’t even know something like the smoke detectors are covered. I’ve also recommended them to several friends.

    If I’m around the computer, I like to file the claim on there. It is usually quicker unless there’s something detailed that I can’t answer online then I’ll have to make a phone call. The contractors have all been very good and courteous as well. They usually give us a call in the morning and let us know about what time they should be coming around. If for some reason our schedule doesn’t fit to that time, they try to work it around our schedule.

    I’ve been calling for several issues and every time that I get American Home Shield's services, they’re fine. We left home because we went out of town, and everything was fine as it is my habit of checking everything before I leave. When I came back, there were a couple of lights in the master bedroom restroom that were off. I tried to do whatever I could, but I didn't want to touch anything that I am not familiar with.     I have paid this company for 6 years and they refuse to reassign a vendor to my case of fixing a simple dishwasher. 3 times out and this vendor never has parts (actually found out they have to come and then call for approval to fix) even on recall to previous fix. Then You can NEVER get a supervisor to speak to and GOOD LUCK contacting corporate, which they pridefully tell you to do, knowing there is no way in doing so. Save your money and time! 0 stars is too many for them! Alison #** hung up on me when I insisted on waiting for a supervisor to "free up" from other calls. Joan #** refused to allow me to speak to her supervisor Kim. Hours on hold same song and dance script hoping you just go away. This call is going on 1 hour 25 minutes. Writing while on hold AGAIN!

    Geo said magic number of vendor visits is 3-5, Joan #** first said it was after "Senior Tech" of company comes out then changed to "escalation division" decides, then none can make the call when to change the vendor out. What vendor doesn't have a simple fuse for a dishwasher repair, on a recall, for a Maytag? Answer... The Vendor AHS insists on sending me multiple times with no working dishwasher after 2 weeks.

    We first called about a broken dishwasher in May 2019, Now it's August 2019 and I still don't have an installed and working dishwasher. I have had to spend a combined 4 plus hours on the phone, mostly on HOLD to get anywhere with this company. I believe they serve you so badly that you finally get tired of calling and fix the issues yourself! I asked to speak with a Supervisor, and was put on hold for 25 minutes only to have the woman come back and say the supervisor is still tied up. I waited for the supervisor and she ended up to be just as careless and inept as the service rep. Contractors had to come to my house 7 times already, and my dishwasher is still not installed and working. I would never have signed up for this had I known how truly poor the service is.

    NOW I’m trying to notify them online that GE fixed the new replacement machine (which was DOA), but they don’t install. I need the other contractor to come back out to finish installing the washer. However, in order to leave a message/email they charge you another $75! These are really bad people. If you can, stay away from this company!!!

    Mariah from American Home Shield called me quickly to address my concerns. She also helped to get a second opinion. The bottom line is even though in my situation, American Home Shield did not cover as much of the cost that I would have liked, they still have better negotiated rates. So if I would have used a company as a regular retail customer without having a warranty company, I would have paid over $2200. It's very frustrating to come off of $1300, so I couldn't have imagined having to come up with even more money. So I recant my one star review and have updated it to a 4 star. I'm still not pleased having to pay so much out of pocket, but I am pleased with the customer service and the attention that was given to try to resolve my issue.

    I have been a customer for over a year and this has not proven to be beneficial. I thought it would have been considering that people price gouge all the time and I got the warranty to protect myself from that. So since I've had them, they have come out four times. I have paid 100 to get a light bulb replaced in my fridge, shower/sink unclogged (sink still clogged by the way) (this same visit I asked for the toilet to be looked at and since it magically flushed correctly... No attention was given to it... And I still have problems with it now), they clipped and reattached a wire to the sensor in the garage and now they came out because my AC isn't working properly only to tell me that they only cover about $400 of the cost leaving me with $1300 of the cost. Companies like these are rip offs. I literally should have just put the money that I pay them to the side (I've paid in over $1000 so far) and applied it to all of my home repairs. Hindsight is definitely 20/20.

    Unbelievable! It’s summertime in Florida, so of course, my AC went out on Saturday, July 13, 2019. I called my home warranty company, American Home Shield (AHS), on Monday, July 15, and told them I needed someone to come out and fix my AC. They couldn’t get anyone out until Wednesday, July 17. The service technician came out and said he fixed it. He didn’t. The AC went out again right after he left. I called AHS again and they said they could get someone out again on Friday, July 19. So another technician came out on Friday and diagnosed a compressor problem. He said he would not be able to order a new compressor until Monday, July 22, since it’s late Friday afternoon.

    Today is Friday, August 3—three weeks since my AC went out. Three weeks of sitting in sweltering Florida heat while this home warranty company comes up with every excuse under the sun as to why they can’t/won’t do their job. I have spent countless hours calling them, holding, listening to their excuses, asking for a supervisor or manager (who is NEVER available), asking for a supervisor or manager to call me back (which they NEVER have), and expressing my sheer exasperation over the lack of communication and customer support. I’ve been to the hospital due to heart problems that are exacerbated by the heat. (At least I got to stay in an air-conditioned hospital one night!)

    Bottom line…AHS just doesn’t care. They don’t even care if I die in this heat, which I very well might. They’ll tell you anything just to get you to go away and leave them alone. Today’s excuse, believe it or not, is that they only have two suppliers for my compressor, and both of them are out of stock. Seriously??? All of the AC suppliers are out of stock in the hot summer months? And they’ve been out of stock for the last three weeks? Do they really think I’m buying that??? My parents’ AC went out in their home, and they had a new one installed the very next day. It CAN be done! But not by AHS!

    By the way, I had a voicemail from someone named James (no last name) on Monday, July 29. Here is what he said: “Good afternoon. This message is for Cameron **. Hello, my name is James, and I’m calling from American Home Shield. Thank you for taking my phone call. As always, it may be monitored or recorded for quality. I just wanted to call and apologize. I was just on the phone with Kristen. She was the young lady over in the office at Beaches Air Conditioning and Heating.

    Folks, we have obviously dropped the ball on this one. It has taken far longer to get the equipment ordered than it really should have. It has only just come to my attention just a few moments ago. I have gone ahead and I have placed the order for the new compressor that is needed, and I have expedited that. We’re going to try to get that into the hands of the technicians just ASAP—as quickly as possible. They, in turn, as soon as they have it, will be calling you and then scheduling the installation to take place.

    Just to make you aware, I’m going to go ahead and cover the cost of the new compressor and all of the labor to install that, and per contract section E1, I am going to also covering for up to $10 per pound for coolant. In this case, we will be going back in with seven pounds of coolant. But the not covered portion of the coolant—that portion that is your share—is gonna come to $560.00, I’m afraid. I’m sorry, I wasn’t able to cover for more of that. If you have any questions or any concerns of any sort, please, as always, feel free to call us here at authorizations at 877-489-8320. Thank you so very much. Bye-bye now.”

    Now, that was a very nice, very apologetic voicemail, and I thought it meant that finally someone at AHS cared, and that I would be getting some service. Nope! A whole week has gone by with STILL no service and guess what? No one at AHS knows who James is. Nice! The contract precludes filing a lawsuit against the company, and requires arbitration, which is cost-prohibitive. So this company knows they can act any way they wish, and there is absolutely nothing the consumer can do about it.

    Be smart and consider any other home warranty company before you waste your money with AHS. It’s very obvious they don’t care AT ALL about their customers. All they want is your money. Then, when you need them most…too bad! Is this company not regulated or licensed by anybody? Do they really get to treat their customers like this with absolutely no accountability? Complaints will be filed with the Better Business Bureau and my congressman, to start. I will get someone to pay attention!

    I called on June 28, 2019 to get repair on my A/C because it is not working properly. They set me up with fast response cooling. Fast responsed never showed for their scheduled time. I called them and they said they were running late. Showed 2 hrs later and said they didn't have part for repairs. Waited 3 wks in 95 degree weather before fast response called Sunday night for a Monday repair time. Said I couldn't do that at late notice. Told they would call me with another time. A week went by and no call. I finally called and set up for Saturday. Was told I would get a call on Friday for my appt time on Saturday. No call. Call AHS and all they call do is put me on hold and tell me to continue to wait. It has been over a month a nothing. Asked to speak to someone beyond a manager and told by Aki #** that there is no one else to talk to about my service. This is the worst company I have EVER dealt with. Please be aware before using them.

    I usually call American Home Shield's 1-800 number whenever I submit a claim. The claims process is really bad. The representatives are not very much trained. There is always a 30 to 40 minutes hold time, which is really long, and they are not familiar with the stuff. If you're submitting multiple orders and when the orders go to the company, they are always missing something. They forget to add it and I don't know where the communication issue or error is. We then have to call American Home Shield back and do the whole process again. I wish I can record all these calls if there is someone I can just play those recordings to. American Home Shield used to be very good. They are growing but their customer service is not quite there yet. It wasn't like that before. I had American Home Shield since 2008. They used to have a very smooth process.

    I called American Home Shield when our garage door was not opening and remotes were not working. The manual thing was not working at all either. I'm dealing with three issues right now at the same time. I just got fed up. This is an electrical issue. Instead of going back to American Home Shield, I'm gonna add the same thing under this electrical issue and be done with it. I was so tired of calling almost every day.

    I had a leak coming into our bathroom through the ceiling from the second floor. We were afraid that we had pipes leaking behind the shower. We submitted a claim to American Home Shield over the phone. I'm particularly happy with how much faster AHS' reps answer the phone. Two or three years ago, I would be on hold for more than an hour when I need to call them.

    The problem were were having was occurring over a weekend. On Saturday night, I wanted to see if AHS could get someone on Sunday. I stopped in the middle of that call and called a local plumber and got the answering machine. And so, I went online and submitted the request there. Their website gave me a set of options to push companies to me. There were choices of three or four different service providers, an option which I don't remember seeing before.     We had two different claims on two different air conditioning units. But the American Home Shield online portal somehow got confused. One of them said it was completed and the other one wasn’t. Of the two, I wasn’t happy with one service but with the one with United Air Temp, I was very happy with everything. In fact, my preference would be for us to only be assigned United. The issue then was that when it got very hot, the AC tended to shut down. I went on to American Home Shield's online portal and said our air conditioner was turning off. I just clicked the choices for HVAC, for central air and then “a new claim”. Navigating through the website is easy.

    A young man named Miles came out. He's been to our house before and he was absolutely on time. The first time he got out here was at 10:00 PM and that was because it was the earliest he could possibly be here on his schedule, which is exactly what we expected. They told us that they could either show up at any possible time on one day or they could give us a fixed time a day or two later, and I told them to come whenever they could on the early day. Miles showed up when he showed up, which was absolutely fine, and it was a terrific interaction. Miles explained exactly what he was gonna do and what the options were. My experience on this specific transaction was very good.

    There was a squirrel fan in the dryer that failed and that wasn't performing because the part that holds the squirrel fan to the motor was broken. So, the dryer wasn't spinning. I’ve had American Home Shield for years and they respond but you have to be careful to read the reviews about the companies that are sent. Sometimes, it says, "Don't let this guy in your door." So, that makes you wanna ask for a different company.

    The guy who came from Express Appliance Repair knew what he was doing. He came out, looked at the problem and then came back with the part and fixed it. He was efficient and there were no problems with him at all. Since then, life is happy. I've recommended American Home Shield to my daughter and other people that I know. It’s something that you need to get especially if you're buying a house and they don't include it as part of the sale. If it’s a used or an older house, then that covers the appliances.

    My air conditioner was broken. I called it in to AHS and they made an appointment. Then they had someone call me and when the tech came out, he took care of it. He was very good, very courteous and he knew what he was doing. At first, he tried something and it didn’t work, then he had to come back in a couple of days. But he found out there was a different problem with the AC and that was why he had to do what he did. In the end, he fixed it and so far, the AC's performance has been good.

    I don’t understand how the claim works. I thought when we bought the deal, it would pay most of it. We had a claim for our air-conditioning and American Home Shield paid $1,000 but we had to pay $1,250 out-of-pocket. We don’t know if AHS just pays so much and then the air-conditioning company can charge whatever they want and we have to pay the difference. That’s the only thing we’re not pleased with. We don’t know if we’re gonna renew with American Home Shield because of that. We were out more money and we have the insurance.

    My experience started with a first service provider coming out to check my garbage disposal. It was just making a noise and not turning on. But garbage disposals have an Allen key that you can turn on the bottom and a button that you can press to reset. There are simple fixes that most people don’t know but I knew that and the service provider came in with his Allen key, thinking he was gonna make $75 just turning this Allen key, getting it unjammed and walk away. Well, no. That didn’t happen. He went back and called his boss and said there may be a wire in there. I was standing right there the whole time watching him. He said it was not gonna be covered because it’s an obstruction. Then he said he had to go and he couldn't wait for me to call American Home Shield. I told him I would call American Home Shield and talk to them then he left.

    However, he had disconnected my garbage disposal from the dishwasher drain and left it disconnected. That night, I went to turn on my dishwasher and flooded my kitchen. I tried to call the company several times and tell them what the guy did and that my kitchen flooded but they never even returned the call. I called American Home Shield and said that there was no way the guy could have seen a wire and that he didn’t show me any proof that there was an obstruction. I asked for a second opinion and American Home Shield said that they would send out a second opinion but if the contractor finds an obstruction, it would not be covered. But at that point, I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my garbage disposal.

    American Home Shield sent out another company and it was a great company. Their office was very nice. They called me to make the appointment and were very professional. The guy came out and he knew what he was doing. He didn’t come out with his Allen key. He came out right away to look at what was wrong and he showed me what was wrong. Apparently, a screw had fallen in there and was jammed in the blade. You could see it from the top. He showed me a picture of it. He said American Home Shield was not gonna cover it because it was an obstruction. It was not wear and tear. So my issue with American Home Shield is what normal wear and tear is on a garbage disposal when the only thing that breaks them is when things fall in them.

    American Home Shield was all about asking me to pay $75 to the first guy and saying that if the second guy finds it’s not covered, I would have to pay to the second guy too. I called them back after the second guy came and I told them I was not paying $75 to both companies. The first guy came out, did nothing, decided that there was a wire when there never was a wire, left my pipe disconnected, flooded my kitchen and never even called me. I was not paying them the $75. But I told American Home Shield that I would happily pay the second company and they said they would waive the first fee. So I ended up paying $75 to find out there’s a screw in the dishwasher. I was able to get it out myself and never had to replace my garbage disposal or pay for anyone else to do any more repairs because I knew what was wrong with it.

    The end result here is this. American Home Shield used crappy service providers that have zero customer service. They sent the good people second, not the first time. Then they didn't cover anything. At this point, I’ve been with them for 20 years, at least and I’ve been using the warranty on my homes all along. At this point, I’m ready to cancel all my contracts. Folks can get a handyman or anyone else out to do the work for less than the service fee and less than the hassle.

    I usually call American Home Shield when submitting claims and it has been difficult once I get through to the right people because some of them are very hard to understand and I get cut off. We had an AC issue and AHS gave me a phone number of the first people that they recommended to me. The people didn't call me the next day. When I called, the phone kept ringing and ringing, and then it said, “Try to call later,” so I could never get through to them.

    It was over 100 degrees, it was hot, so I called AHS back. It took me like three times, and I asked for a supervisor and then I finally got a young man also who had some accent. I talked to him on what was going on and said that I’d prefer to have somebody else because I couldn’t even get through to the contractor. He tried to call the contractor and nobody answered the phones so he then gave me the last ones that came out. They were very nice, courteous, polite, and worked me between other clients so I could get my air back on. They came out whenever they told me they were gonna be there. I liked them.

    We had a problem with our Samsung clothes washer. It kept malfunctioning. So we called American Home Shield, and someone came out and probably fixed the problem. But it broke again the next day. So he came out again a few days later, and he determined that it has to do something with the computer system so he has, apparently, ordered a part, and now we’re waiting to see whether or not the part is available, or if he has to go ahead and work out a replacement because the washer’s 10 years old. So it’s not yet resolved and I still don’t have a washer. But they have been responsive and they seem to be working in the right direction.

    I did one claim with American Home Shield online and another one over the phone. I had a very frustrating experience with the woman I talked with because she couldn’t understand me. I had my policy sitting in front of me and she told me that I didn’t have coverage for my dishwasher when I was looking right at it and seeing that I did have coverage. My experience with her was very negative. I couldn’t understand her because of her thick accent.

    There were two guys who came out. One came to look at the dishwasher and another took a look at the ceiling fan. The guy that came to look at the dishwasher seemed to do a good job. The dishwasher is no longer plugged, although I haven’t run it yet because I’ve just had one catastrophe after another over here. I’m just getting ready to run it to know if it drains properly. But he was very courteous and he left me his card and said, “If there are any problems, let me know.” I liked him. The claim I did over the phone, the guy came over and looked at it and he goes, “Yeah, we’re gonna have to cover that. We cover that,” but I’ve never heard back from him, and it hasn’t been fixed. So, I’m really not very happy. I would really appreciate if someone would follow up with me on the second claim.

    I've had American Home Shield since ’99. We have an issue with a contractor that they kept sending to my house Advance Appliances, so I just told them, “Just do me a favour. Don’t never send them to my house no more.” But every time I try to book it online, a lot of times, it’d be Advance Appliance, so I had to sit on the whole call. So this time, I just called to eliminate all that. The lady said, “Okay, we got it set up. They’ll be calling you.” They never called, so I looked it up. I pulled up my account online, and it’s saying that they're waiting on me to call the contractor. But I never had to do that for 40 years. That me pissed off. So I called, set up the appointment with the lady, and everything was cool.

    Then the guy called me that morning and gave me a 2-hour window. It was 10:00 to 12:00 and they never showed up. He called me 9:30 and told me, “We’re running a little late.” 12:30 I did not hear anything. So I made a call and the guy answered the phone and it was like he was mad at me. I said, “Sir, I’m just trying to call for a follow-up. Y’all called me this morning, but I ain’t heard nothing.” He said, “Well, I told you. We was gonna be getting somebody out there, and the first job ran a little longer.” I said, “Well, you ain’t gotta get rude. I’m the customer. I’m just calling to ask you.” That pissed him off even further.

    He said, “Well, if you want to, you can just call them back and tell them to get you somebody else.” So I got a lot of issues. I knew that was gonna go real ugly, so I just hung up. I called AHS back, and they gave me another contractor. That other contractor called me to say, “We had a cancellation. Can we come on now?” I said, “Let’s do it.” They came, the guy went and got a part, fixed it, and was gone. I’m very satisfied.

    My AC just quit working. It was blowing but the fan in the condenser unit wasn’t turning in the unit itself. And Weatherwise was sent by American Home Shield and the contractor did something and it's going now. My experience was awesome. The contractor came out the very next day. I called Weatherwise the next morning myself because American Home Shield said I could call them, and the contractor said if he had time he’d get out here. He did and when he was here, he said he didn't even need to go in the house. I was at work and it was really convenient because my daughter knew the person who was working on it. So far, so good.

    I'd prefer Weatherwise any time I call now. There was Network Plumbing & Heating that American Home Shield used too that I really liked. In fact, I even hired them to come and do maintenance on my AC and my furnace every year because I trust them. I've had people come in and tell me, “Oh, this is wrong, that is wrong,” and then I called American Home Shield and they sent somebody out for free, and it was Network Plumbing and Heating who said, “There's nothing wrong with this.” I need to find companies I can trust.

    Our air-conditioning system seemed not to be cooling as well as it had been through last summer when it started to heat up in May. I filed a claim with American Home Shield and they let me know that I will hear from the contractor within 24 hours. Air Zone called and they worked around my work schedule. It was pretty quick. It happened within four to six hours. We had an appointment, but they called a day early and said they had an unexpected opening. They accommodated me picking up my daughter from day care and met me at the house after 5PM. They jumped into diagnosing what was going on. They checked the system and ran through everything. It turned out they needed to add some Freon to the system. It was like 33% low of what it should have been at. They were in and out of there in about two hours.

    Everything has been working fine and the issue with the cooling has improved. The repair got our cooling system working again and the house to a more comfortable temperature when we needed it. So far, it’s been very easy with American Home Shield. I called for a couple of plumbing issues as well, and it's always timely and pretty simple. I have no complaints. Whenever they send me a contractor, I do a bunch of research and, definitely, I’ve had some anxiety before some of the contractors have shown up. I don’t know if the people writing those reviews are just really picky, or maybe they don’t communicate what their problem is very well, but I have not had any experiences like what I’ve read some people have online. Everything’s been great and I would definitely recommend American Home Shield.

    When I couldn't get water to the refrigerator, I submitted a claim online and it was much better than trying to wait for a person. I had control and it's easier when I can do it at my own convenience. I felt good about it. AM PM Plumbing, the contractor that came out, was very good. And CRC looked at it, figured out that was what it was, and left. They were here maybe five minutes and then they said they had to order a part. The contractor was very polite and professional. They came back the following week. It took them 20 minutes to put it back in, and they were done, and it's been working great since.

    I had a leak in my water heater so I called AHS and the rep told me that a contractor was gonna call me. I called on a Friday and expected not to hear from the contractor probably till Monday, and he showed up about 4:00 in a Saturday afternoon. After he was here and I went upstairs, there was notification on my email. I hadn't looked at the email because they said the contractor would call me. That was what I was waiting on. I don’t know when I got those emails, but there was one there telling me that he was gonna show up. And that did not give me a time.

    The contractor was telling me that the pressure valve is there in case something happens with the city line and the pressure builds up. He was pleasant and all that, but he was telling us that when the county or city works on the water, it gets surge and this and that. I told him, “We’ve been here for 33 years and we have never had that problem.” The only time we ever had a problem with the water heater is when it's broken. I have two elements. It’s a 50-gallon. He checked the top element and that was dry, so that solidified what he thought was correct. And I showed him the water in the back where it gravitated to. He said, “That’ll clear up,” only it didn't. So, he vacuumed the pan out and I still have water all over the back behind the heater and the washer.

    Nevertheless, I bought off on what he said, but my wife didn't. He left and it was still leaking and was pretty bad. It’s about half-an-inch-thick water. Because the thing sits on my garage and it’s between my washer and dryer I wasn’t 100% sure that maybe it was the washer. So, Saturday, we pulled the washer out and there were no leaks with the washer, and it was coming from the pan from the water heater.

    First, I tried to call the contractor. Nobody answered the phone. I called back to Home Shield, and he looked at what was done. He said, “They've completed that service.” I said, “They can say what they want to, but I still have a water leak in my water heater.” And the rep said, “Are you disputing that?” I said, “Yeah. I still got a leak in my water heater, still, now.” He said, “Let me get you a second opinion.” And they sent out somebody else. That guy, Joe, came out here Monday morning. That was as soon as they could get me in.

    I told him what the first contractor told me, and he checked the PVC pipe from the release valve. That was bone-dry. What he had pointed out was if our heater gets above 120, it’ll release the water to take the pressure off. He said, “The street valve is in line.” He pointed to a brass fitting. “And so, that’s your street pressure, water coming from the street, that that stops that, and that has to be on there.” So, the person that AHS sent out first didn't know what he was talking about. After looking at it he pulled the washer out, which the other guy never did. And he said, “Yeah, you got a problem.” And he went to the bottom element and pulled the face off of it, and it was wet as a devil. So, he said, “You got a busted tank.”

    After that Joe wrote up to AHS that I need a new tank. And we probably won’t get the tank till either Wednesday or Thursday, but if it comes in Friday, we won’t be able to put it in till Monday. But I said, “Fine.” About two hours later, someone from American Home Shield called me, told me they had got his report and that they were replacing the tank. The only thing they said that was all me with it was the pan. We need to replace the pan also. And they said, “That’s $35 and we don’t cover pans.” I don’t have a problem with that. I’m happy now. AHS listened to me when I called them back and said I needed someone else to come out here. They sent me somebody and they sent someone who’s been doing it for 13 years and knew what he was looking for.

    And I didn't dislike Thomas, the first contractor. I just realized that he had made a bad diagnosis. It’s just like doctors. Sometimes you get a good one, and sometimes you get one not so good. And I can’t fault American Home Shield. They told me it’s completed. You have to suck it up. Another story and I would've probably been cancelling. But American Home Shield worked with me when I asked for a second opinion, because I told them, “You’ll just send that same company back out.” And the rep said, “No. I wanna give you a completely separate company.” That was his idea. Not mine. And so, I’m happy with American Home Shield.

    Our upstairs air conditioner wasn’t working, and New Phase Comfort and Heating found the problem with the unit. They fixed it and recharged it. They called me, scheduled a time, they were here when they said they would be, and they found the problem and fixed it. They showed up on time, too. I had one thing that I was gonna call about. They charged me to refill the Freon. I know that’s not covered under the warranty. So, I paid that when they did it. But then, I got an email saying that the first $90 was covered by warranty, and I paid the whole thing to them. So, I wanted to see if that was reimbursable.

    The first time I submitted a claim to American Home Shield for my refrigerator, my experience was not that great. It took almost eight days to get something done. When the tech from Mississippi finally showed up, he got the refrigerator back on very quickly. That was rough and I almost pulled the plug on the claim because it was so complicated. AHS would activate people and then whenever those people would call me, they would tell me that they don't work on a particular model.

    There was a contractor in Covington who said that my location was outside their jurisdiction. My location is in a little community called Sun, which is in St. Tammany Parish, but unfortunately, our mailing address is Bogalusa. The person whom I was speaking to then told me where the line was and it was two miles down the road. That was a little disheartening. Another time, their contractor Barber's Hardware and Repair declined the refrigerator repair I requested because they didn’t know how to do that particular type. AHS has contractors under certain restrictions and their payment is all set up. With the refrigerator claim, I could've called somebody and had them out the next day.

    AHS should have a bigger pool of contractors and more of them in my area. They should also have a list of everything I have. So, when I make a call, their reps can determine that my refrigerator is a Frigidaire and ask their contractor whether or not they worked on that. By doing that, the contractor can decline right then and avoid wasting a bunch of time.

    More recently, my AC was low on Freon and had quit cooling. Barber's seems to be American Home Shield's go-to person. Their tech came out with the owner of the business to do the service call and he went above and beyond the call of duty. Barber’s pulled the reins back on my first experience and performed really well. Their tech was very professional, personable and friendly.

    I needed a rekey and I contacted AHS on the phone. I got great results from talking with their rep and a tech from Zippy Locks was sent out the next day. He was excellent and very professional. He knew exactly what he was doing and he did it in a timely manner. I also felt like I could trust him in my home. Other than that, I had a plumber out as well and I need to call him back. The toilet is still doing the same thing and I don't think he ran the lines to get the clog. He said that I had 60 days and that was just last week. It's not their fault though.     American Home Shield was fine in sending out someone to initially check the air conditioning unit, and then they turned me over to a vendor who came out and did an estimate. At that point in time, I sought out other estimates of other vendors separate from American Home Shield. I started looking at quotes from other people. The contractor that American Home Shield assigned to me seemed to be the highest of all the quotes that I got. I'm in a multi-story building, and they told me that a crane was needed and that would be my cost built into their full cost. But they were the only vendor that said they required a crane. So I ended up not using the vendor that American Home Shield offered.

    I got a brand-new complete HVAC system, but American Home Shield did not give me the full $1,500 policy coverage for a HVAC, and that is very not good. The refrigerant was different with the new unit than the old one, so the heat unit did not correspond with a new condenser that was gonna be up on the roof. They didn't match. But I was never reimbursed for the heat situation, only for the condenser.

    I like submitting my claims to American Home Shield over the phone. I like to hear the other person’s voice, and noticing my concerns, and taking my needs in consideration. I know online is easier, but I like the phone calls. I had a technician come and look at the trash compactor when it had a really, really bad odor. I also noticed that it was making a stuttering sound when I pushed it to get it going. It was like it wouldn’t spin around. The tech said everything was fine. The odor is gone now, but I don’t use it anymore because I’m afraid that it will get stuck. The tech was very knowledgeable. I asked other questions, and he didn't seem like trying to rush and get out here. He actually explained to me what I can do when a certain case happens.     The contractor for the garage doors got there within a few days. They were great. The problem was not completely solved because it wasn’t something that was covered by American Home Shield, but they were able to come out and take a look. They advised me what it would be if we wanted to get it fixed. The garage door experience was totally fine. We had another claim for our instant hot water that was broken and the contractor was able to eventually come out. They assessed that it needed to be replaced, and the guy went out to the property yesterday and replaced it.

    The experience of setting up that service call was a little bit frustrating because I spent quite a while on the phone. I wound up calling in because it would not allow me to submit that request online. I sat on the phone with a rep for quite a while before she was able to resolve the situation. She was telling me that that was not covered under our plan even though I was looking at the contract and telling her exactly what page it said that it was covered. She said, “No, I’m sorry. Even though you’re looking at that right now, that is not your plan.” I basically had to fight quite a bit on that for her to even look into it further to see that it was actually covered under our contract. Had it been an older person or somebody that wasn’t as literate as I was, they could have been taken advantage of and just having to do it themselves even though it was actually paid for under the contract.

    My refrigerator freezer was melting and freezing had I had to increase the temperature to the highest point to get it to freeze at the right level. The first tech whom AHS sent undid the back of the refrigerator and said that the issue was a refrigerant leak. He then said he couldn't fix the problem and that somebody else needed to be called from Sears. The tech from Sears came out and said that the problem had nothing to do with the refrigerant. Instead, there was a seal issue in the freezer and that the thermostat needed to be replaced.

    The first tech lied to my face and I didn't appreciate that because he didn't know what he was talking about nor do I understand why he came out to my place at all. Also, when the second guy came out, he didn't know what the first guy said, so he wasn't even looking for a refrigerant leak. Now, I'm not buying a lot of food because I'm afraid I'm gonna end up having a problem.

    I called American Home Shield around three years ago, and it delved on the vendor that they sent out. They were gouging not only American Home Shield, but they were gouging me. They didn't do the best they could and they didn't do anything. I got a little elevated. So when I called in for my AC this time, I made it clear to American Home Shield that I wanted somebody that was gonna come out and wasn’t gonna be like that. The person from American Home Shield heard me and sent me out a real good company, and a good guy.

    The AC started making noise and then it stopped altogether. The technician was real knowledgeable. He asked me where my filter was, and when we pulled that thing down, we saw all that dust in that raggedy filter. So that was one thing. And then we went to the back and he gave me some tidbits about the unit, which was good. He told me that the folks from some of the companies are working on commission so they gotta try to sell something. So it made sense why the dude before was gonna charge me all that for Freon, which I did not need. I've had American Home Shield for almost 20 years and I've submitted claims for the washing machine, the dryer and then the air conditioner. I’m a person that doesn’t use it unless I really, really, really need to. But American Home Shield has been good money.

    I made a claim for my microwave and the online process was significantly easier than calling in. After the tech got here, we found out that the control board went out. All the buttons and lights worked, but it wouldn’t kick on and start heating. The tech cleaned up after himself and did a good job. Unfortunately, it took quite a long time to get the control board in. The timetables on some of these claims are a bit excessive. This claim took almost two months, and with my air conditioner before that, it took over a month. Still, I plan on recommending AHS to the next homebuyer.

    I have used this company for two years and reluctantly signed up for the second year this March. Being an experienced Realtor, I know how this game works for all such companies: contract with mediocre local vendors who do poor work and need to come back twice for double fees of 75.00 and when something truly goes wrong and replacement is needed it is in "process: in our case for 28 days without a washer. Cancellation took me to Indonesia 3x with no help and scripting, then by accident I pressed the wrong button on the main line and got US offices. They will not refund the remaining policy for 8 months and want to charge me 70.00 to cancel! Unbelievably poor service on all fronts. Stay away.

    The customer service and the customer service of the companies that services AHS is horrible. When you have an issue you will be on hold forever and seems like they just read from a script and never answer your questions. I have had 4 services calls which two different technicians that didn't show, don't follow up and don’t know how to fix your issue. Then when you call AHS their only answer is, “We will set up another appointment with another service provider.” Going on 4 weeks with our air condition and $300+ out of pocket. I also am a realtor and I will going forward recommend my clients to put the $35.00 in a savings account versus paying the monthly fees, service charge and the items they don't cover. Might as well save your money yourself and pay when something breaks and save your sanity. Not worth the time and money you have to spend with these guys.

    I have personally seen companies not honoring contract in other countries but this has been my first experience in US which is my home for the last decade or so. AHS need to do a bit more to understand the definition of customer service. I happened to take the 3X3 Combo plan on Jun 03rd and in a month had an issue with my A/C Cooling. Thankfully AHS send a contractor within a day or so, which gave me a good impression of their service. What happened after that, altered my impression from a company like AHS. The Contractor: AC Wizard comes & without doing a proper test fills 3 pounds of Freon telling that it is very during Summer (AHS takes $100 Service which is as per contract, so no issues).

    2 weeks later A/C in the same state and this time he does Nitrogen test (Does it Free as it was related to the same Service, so was happy about it) and detects leak in my Evaporator coil. He informs that they will replace the Evaporator coil in 3 days. 4 days later when I do not get call from the Contractor or AHS, I call up AHS Customer Support and get the information that Evaporator coil is not covered in Contract (do keep in mind that there is no mention of coil being excluded in the Contract ) and tells a Contract clause which does not make sense to anyone who understands English. I felt sorry for the Customer Support lady who was still very composed even though I asked her all this. The next statement from the Customer Support was that Technician put information that the Evaporator Coil was leaking (Water) and it was NORMAL WEAR & TEAR.

    My House was constructed in 2015 Oct. Considering that I have no idea on Evaporator coil, I did a quick good search and see that it is clearly mentioned that Coils will stay for 10-15 yrs. The Customer Support Executive informs me that I have to pay $1500 out of my pocket and when I raised concern, gave the suggestion to go for Cash-In-Lieu option informing that it would be better option for me and that it will result in my total Out of Pocket being less than $1500 (this did not make sense to me but I just listened). She advised to call Customer support the next day (i.e. today) and then have them route the call to Cash-In-Lieu Dept. Keeping with her advice, I called up Customer Support and they tell me that Cash-In-Lieu will call me and that I do not need to call. They informed that it will take another 48 hrs. to 72 hrs. for Cash-In-Lieu to call me.

    Meanwhile I get a call from AC Wizard Office Manager, Dallas to check if I am proceeding with the Evaporator Coil changing and she discouraged me from Cash-In-Lieu telling that if I go for it, I may get only about $300-400 and that my Out of Pocket will go up from $1500 to $2300. Everyone in this equation knows that my Evaporator Coil is under Manufacturer warranty, which makes it more concerning & for a normal person like me it looks nothing but a Ripoff. Now I am into my 3rd week after first reporting the A/C Cooling issue and with 2 small kids, I do not have an option to wait any longer. So I am forced to go to another A/C Contractor to get it fixed by paying upfront not knowing whether I will get anything from AHS or not. But do understand not many would be able to take such a step easily.

    You made me lose confidence in AHS and in turn lost a person who could have been a loyal customer contributing to your growth by promoting it to friends. My general advise to those reading this and who can afford fixes < $10000 it is not worth going for Home Warranty and have a terrifying experience later when a claim arises. I learned from my mistake. Hope you do not make that mistake. Please take the criticism constructively to be better than others in your field!!

    My AC stopped working in the middle of summer in Arizona. I put in a service request online. When the service tech arrived, 2 days later and 3 hours later, he said he was not licensed to work on my ac because it was a condo complex with 4 units in one building. He needs to be commercial licensed. I called AHS and they said they would put in a new request with a commercially licensed tech. Next day, there is no service request logged. I called and went through it all again... Next day, no service request logged. It had been canceled because the tech did not have a ladder tall enough. No one contacted me to let me know this.

    The customer service is lousy. I requested a manager several times, with no answer. The system to place a service request is inadequate. They should have know to Send a commercially licensed tech. The customer service reps sound like they are in another country. How can a company called AMERICAN Home Shield outsource to another country. The whole experience has been extremely frustrating and I'm not likely to renew...they don't seem to be interested in helping me at all. I should at least get my fee back. I was on hold so long waiting for an answer about refunding my fee, that I hung up. Every time I've called, I've been put on hold for long periods of time. I'm done.

    American Home Shield was recommended to us and we wish we had done more research. Recently our hot water heater had to be replaced. We went through the process of calling American Home Shield and they informed us that we could either use one of the companies that they contract or we could find someone ourselves and they would reimburse us no more than $397.50. THIS IS A TRICK! Since we decided to find a company on our own to replace our hot water heater, we are now having to fight to be reimbursed. They have rejected our invoice of $900 and their reasoning is because the person we hired is not with a company. He is licensed/register plumber that is a one-man shop and doesn't have a fancy name to put on their invoice. DO NOT GET AMERICAN HOME SHIELD FOR YOUR HOME WARRANTY!! THEIR SERVICE IS INEFFICIENT!!!!

    BEWARE! If you are buying a home, never buy the extended warranty!!! We got AHS aka American Home Shield. Yes, they will send someone to look at the item, however when/if parts arrive they are not obligated to come out right away and fix it. This isn't the first time that happened to us. First dishwasher, we ended up buying new after 2 weeks and now waiting for them. Faucet, it had arrived here, we had to call someone else and pay out of pocket to install.

    Furnace, diagnosed, never came back to fix. AHS you will be on the phone forever and getting nowhere! Washing machine had been broken for 3 weeks now, technician got the part 10 days ago and I still have no appointment. I'll just go ahead and buy a new one at this point. I had spent about 11 hours in phone calls so far. I'm done! DO NOT purchase home warranty for appliances, not worth the trouble, there is no real saving, and at the end of the day, you'll still have an old, might be fixed appliance.

    To submit my claims, I call American Home Shield and they’ve got an automated system where I can tell them exactly what’s wrong. And at that point, they send me either a text or a callback saying that so and so will be dispatched to make this repair. And I pay them $75 copay and then the contractors come out. The AHS reps tell me within 24 to 48 hours that I’ll be contacted by a specific contractor. And then usually within 24 hours, I hear from the contractor about what day or time they will be out. Recently, 1 Call Contractors came out to repair a couple of light switches in the house. They were on time, made quick repairs, and were in and out, and I’ve been happy with the service. My experience was satisfactory.

My pool heater was not working and True Blue came out to diagnose it and see what the issue was. The interaction with them was very good but it took them a bit longer to fix it because of the parts. That pool heater has not been updated in a while and they took care of ordering the parts. Everything has been good since then.     I requested four services altogether online from American Home Shield including plumbing, running toilets and a leaking garbage disposal. Navigating their website was easy but then there is a limit of four on the number of requests I can make for a single service. Also, there aren't enough options to describe what my problem actually is. When the technician from Allstate Plumbing called, I had to let them know what the problem and describe it to them rather than the American Home Shield website.

    Allstate's techs did a very good job. They were very professional on the way they handled things. I was requesting them if they could do the job a little sooner, and they did. However, once they completed the job, they had to clean where the water is and where the water has gone right under the sink. I had to explicitly ask them to do that. If they could have done that all by themselves, then it would have been good. Despite that, I'm satisfied and happy with American Home Shield.

    American Home Shield sent out Appliance Connection after I called AHS about my dishwasher that wasn't working. It wouldn't come on. I was told when the contractor would come out. When they came, they tried to repair the dishwasher but they couldn't. Because of this, I was given a brand new dishwasher. They picked out a Maytag unit that was comparable to what I had which was a $900 unit. It took three weeks for the new appliance to get here but that was fine. The contractor was excellent.     We always submit claims online to American Home Shield. That’s really the easiest thing for us. The contractors that came out were wonderful and easy to get in contact with. They were good about telling us what was going on. Recently, whenever we set our washing machine to cold water, hot water would come out. At first, the gentleman that came over to fix it thought that there was some problem with the thing that determines whether it should pump out cold or hot water so he got one of those and came back and installed it but it had the same problem.     Initially, I had some problems with American Home Shield, but with the latest call, they handled it very nicely. I did it over the phone and they scheduled someone to come out quickly. They seemed very good. I filed a claim for my dryer. The heating element went out, and then there was a really bad squeak when it dries. So, the contractors were able to fix the heating element the first time, and then they had to order a part for the second. I'm waiting for them now. I'd recommend them.

    I had the the house rekeyed through American Home Shield. The guy they sent was a nice guy. He called me by phone. He was not sure and he called American Home Shield, and they said they were gonna cover it. He was all smiles when he came and he did the locks out. He took care of it and they're all done. There was some stickiness on one of the doors but when he was done, not only were the locks rekeyed, but everything just works smoother and better.

    However, sometimes there's confusion between the vendors and the companies in what American Home Shield covers. But I just shrug my shoulders, talk to them and figure it out. What makes American Home Shield is I don't pay them any more money when their contractors come. If it's covered, it's covered. If it's not, it's not. I did have an earlier claim on the garage. Some things aren't covered and I thought I'd check the file to see. I had to do something and it came out of pocket but I didn't get too upset on that one because well, some things aren't covered.

I had a death in the family and he had to reschedule with me several times because I didn't know what was going on.     I was supposed to hear from BestWay Mechanical last week because when the guy came in to check, he needed to come back another time to repair the issue but I haven’t received a call. We thought it was the water heater, but we're glad it wasn't because we got it with American Home Shield just a few years ago. There was condensation coming from the AC unit, and the really awesome staff person, Mike, came by and then checked to see why it was still leaking after we were sure it was good to go. He saw that a part of it was frozen. So, it would be best to turn it off temporarily for that to melt. That was the cause of the issue and he said that the best way was to come back in again to go ahead and repair that issue. Since it has been a little while, I probably need to call him myself. I was gonna call AHS or the contractor as well so they can come back out and get that situated.

    I appreciate AHS. They are all very helpful and always very willing to help. Even when some of the times, I had issues with getting in touch with their repair company, they were able to step in and make the calls themselves. So, that was helpful and very good extra effort on their end. They always get the job done and if it takes a little longer, they call or make sure that it still gets done, which is the best anyone can really ask.

    I had water on the floor in the bathroom. I went over the phone to file a service request with American Home Shield. It’s never easy to do that. They could always make sure that I can talk to somebody in the United States. I can’t understand them at all. Also, for many of the things that I have problems with, they use Sears, and they are awful. They never get the job done. And they can’t schedule it at a time frame that really works for me. They are extremely uncooperative, too. And I was told one of the last times that there wasn’t anybody other than Sears that would work on my refrigerator, which it still has some problems. But I told them I didn’t want Sears, and they said if I didn’t use Sears and they didn’t have somebody else, then they wouldn’t service me.

    I had a claim where Krall Plumbing came out and that one seemed to work fine. The contractor was an older man and abrupt, but he got the job done. Still, I’m not really happy with the way American Home Shield has treated me. It has been a hassle. I have been disappointed. I’ve been with them for quite some time, and I have had better service until we ended up with the last few years with Sears. And it has been a nightmare.

    The air conditioner was having problems. The guy that came out was nice and fixed it except it would still randomly have the problem. The lady in the office of the contractor company called me and was trying to schedule an appointment on a Thursday. I was off on Friday by chance. I told her that it was okay if the tech couldn't come on a Friday. She wanted to schedule the next Monday. I said that I have to go back to work and that I work out of town. I asked to do it on the 29th and she couldn't. She had the whole week ago with the schedule. She was super rude the whole time. In the end, I told her that my schedule doesn’t fit theirs. I asked her name and why she was so rude. She said a bad word and hang up on me. I didn’t know if she was having a bad day or what, but I thought that was a little bit extreme.

    I called American Home Shield and told them to make sure to mark on that contractor never to send to my house again and to find somebody else. At first, they said that it's their contractor for years. I told them if that's the only one they can use, I’m gonna cancel and get another home warranty that can use somebody else, and they figured it out. Everything was good with AHS as well as with the people at my house. Everybody was friendly.

    There was a leak underneath the bathroom and I called American Home Shield. It was on a Friday and there was a text message from Neely’s, the contractor, that they would come on Monday. The guy was great, very nice and professional. He said it was something that was loose upstairs in the bathtub that caused the leak to come through. It was a repair that he fixed, and it solved the problem. He did a great job and he figured it out quickly. I recommend AHS all the time and I tell everybody about them. I’ve been with them 15 years minus 2 months. I’ve tried somebody else and they weren’t good, so I came back. American Home Shield is the best warranty out there.

    Our AC unit on the second floor stopped working. American Home Shield sent Extreme Heating & Air and the fix was made. The tech was very patient, explained to me what the issue was, and he replaced the part. We had someone else come out who services our unit, and they said that it was the blower. But the tech said that it was not the blower. It was a small part. Right now, everything is working good.

    I called American Home Shield for my AC and got a representative. They set everything up, gave me a work order number and we went from there. I requested who I wanted for the repair because I had a problem with the other contractor they have that didn’t come out. They had to work on getting me the one that I requested that had come out before. They got the contractor to come out and he did a good job. He repaired everything while he was here when he said he would be here.

    The one before the last work order, there were two different contractors. We have two AC units, one upstairs and one downstairs. One contractor was supposed to do the air duct upstairs ‘cause there was no air coming out and the other contractor was supposed to repair the AC system downstairs. But what happened was the contractor that was supposed to come for the AC unit downstairs never called back and never showed up.

    When the contractor for the air duct came, he said since he was here, he would call and have them give him the work order and he would take everything. So, one contractor did another contractor’s repair work. He came back this last time, but when he did his return, he found that there was a leak so I had to pay for the Freon even though it was leaking and that was to keep it until they could order the parts. He just came this last time, replaced the parts and put the Freon in. Overall, American Home Shield is responsive and they did a nice job.

    VIP came out for the washer. On the day I called in for service, I had washed all the clothes. It was in the last load of clothes washing but for some reason, it started putting codes on the display. It had never done that. It was a locked position and it wouldn't unlock the door. I had a hard time but I finally worked the right system to get the door unlocked. I even tried to run the washer again to drain some of the water that was in there because I have a front loader and I had that option on the display as well. But then I went ahead and called American Home Shield. Because my daughter had some surgery and is here for a few weeks, I had to get whatever problems that might be taken care of done. I didn't wanna have to have to run out and do my laundry at some laundromat.

    The claims process was easy and simple, and thank goodness, they were able to get the part. They were saying they may have to replace the washer but I didn’t want that because I like my washer. My washer and dryer are a matching set. VIP had to wait for the part to come in but they did the repair as quickly as they could and the technician who did the installation also cleaned up his area. He did a very good job.

    American Home Shield sent out Westaire for my air conditioner. Their guy diagnosed the issue and had to come out two times. The first time he came out, he said the AC needed Freon so he put Freon in. It worked for about three weeks. But all of a sudden, the AC started throwing hot air again and the motor started making a loud fuzzy noise. I called American Home Shield and they assigned another company, A&E. I thought that wasn't right because the first company that came out should be the one responsible for it. I called American Home Shield and they said I was right about that.

    But A&E still came. They diagnosed the AC and replaced the motor. It has been a couple of weeks and the AC has been working fine. I then got a notice that I was gonna be billed for another $100 for the service charge. I called American Home Shield and talked with them. After some long discussions, they decided that they were correct with what they told me before that the service charge of $100 should have been covered under the first visit.

    I've had other claims with American Home Shield. There were some times that they were good and there were some times when it was a real fight to get them to do the service. But it's not American Home Shield’s problem. It’s the vendors that they ship these things out to. There was one company that would never return my call. I called American Home Shield and they tried contracting them. I was on hold. When the rep came back on, she said the vendor wouldn't answer her call either. We ended up transferring the service request to another vendor. Other than that, I’ve recommended American Home Shield to friends. I talked about the good experiences and I told them about the bad ones too.

    If I have a heating and air conditioning problem and I submit a claim with AHS, I'd prefer Quality Air HVAC Trust because they have been here on more than one occasion to handle my furnace and air conditioning situation. I became aware of them. Recently, I had a landscaper landscape my hedges and he clipped my Freon line to my compressor outside. It was 90 something degrees outside and this landscaper through his insurance, brought out his guy to work on the AC. But what he tried to do didn't work. In fact, I had about four people come out and try to fix the AC issue before I decided to call American Home Shield.

    They sent me Quality Air and their techs identified the problem. They solved it and and I was satisfied. The service was very professional and whenever they said they were gonna be here, they've been here. They're also very clean and they come out in their uniforms. They even put their booties on their shoes before they come into my house.

    Normally, I call AHS to put in claims and when I call, their system is automated. I would love to be able to request the company that I want. When I'm doing the automated thing on the phone, their system would say "Hold on and we'll see when we can get you scheduled." The system would come back telling me who the servicing company would be, give their phone number and tell me that the company would contact me. Right now, there is no place where I can request which company I want which I would love to be able to do.

    One time, I had an issue with the commode in my master bath. I called AHS on a Friday and Drain Go of Alabama was here by Monday morning, right when they said they would be. Their techs introduced themselves to me which was nice. They diagnosed the problem immediately and had the parts they needed to replace those inside my tank and fixed my commode. During that time, they were showing me everything. Thereafter, they made sure that it worked correctly and were out. They weren't even here for 30 minutes and they were great. Now it's been operating perfectly. More recently, my water tank blew up and Drain Go also came and replaced it.

    When the pool was first opened, the heater wasn't working and then, all of a sudden, the motor on the pool started making a lot of noise. We looked at it and couldn't find a reason for it.     My AC wasn't getting cold. I like to call and talk to a real person, so I called AHS and filed a claim. The contractors they sent out fixed it but it took a couple of trips as there was more than one problem. So after they fixed it the first time, something else went wrong on the unit and they fixed it again. There were long delays, too and it was over 100 degrees and there was no cooling. Plus, it happened on a Friday and they were closed on the weekends so, I had to wait three days. And the technicians were really busy, so I had to tough it out through some hot days.

    My air conditioner wasn’t blowing air at all and when I submitted a claim with AHS, it went perfectly fine. I did it online and the process was pretty simple, quick and very comprehensive. The website was straightforward, too. The technicians found out there was a variable speed motor that had gone out and there was a part that they needed to get for me. It took a bit longer to get because we didn’t have that part in-state, so the technicians had to wait for the part to arrive. But other than that, it was flawless.     It’s pretty easy to make a claim with American Home Shield. But I think because of the time of year that we’re at, with a lot of heat going on, there are a lot of appliances that are not working so it took the contractor a while to get out when the refrigerator quit running. American Home Shield got somebody out within three days which was good but he was unable to repair it. It was gonna need a new compressor so he went back and told whoever that someone else needed to come out. That took several weeks. From the time that we made the claim to the time that we actually got it fixed, it was a total of five weeks. We lost $400 worth of food.

    But both of the technicians that came out were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. We made a claim on an air conditioner compressor problem not too long ago, and then this claim came along. There was never a hint of a problem with the fact that we were putting in too many claims and I found that good. By far, even with the waiting period, our experience with American Home Shield beats the overall expense of trying to take care of these things on your own.

    The problem was finally resolved after more than five weeks. The original contractor was replaced by Proficient Appliance who too needed more than one visit to properly diagnose the problem. After replacing the rails and a faulty switch the door now closes properly. I am not too happy with the call center services but the consumer affairs representative was helpful and professional.

    I have a Whirlpool refrigerator with French doors that had problem with freezer door not closing properly. Requested a service with American Home Shield and they sent SOS Services to fix the issue on July 16, 2019. Keith from SOS Services diagnosed the problem to being a defective door and gasket. He told me that a new door needed to be ordered to fix the problem. It has been two weeks and I have called customer service five times and each time they tell me that the part order has not yet been authorized by the purchasing department but would not tell me the reason. They would not give the contact information for the authorization department nor would they give me contact information of someone in AHS who could explain why there is a hold up. I have no idea when the parts will be ordered and when my refrigerator will be fixed. Frustrated and angry.

    If you have run of the mill problems, they are fine, as long as you do not have to call or have any kind of problem. I have geothermal heating/cooling and they have no clue what to do. They don't even have a selection for it. Every time I place a service request, their contractor comes and says they don't service it. Then it is a fight to get them to cover the contractor that is certified to do it. This latest service need they said from the start there was no one to service it and I could proceed with my own contractor. Then 2 days later they assigned someone anyway, AFTER I had service and paid for a part replacement. It is 100 degrees right now, I could not make my family and animals wait.

    So, I called and talked to another rep to whom I explained the issue. She said the first person told me the wrong thing, NOT my problem. I was told I needed to be transferred to "escalation". I was on hold for over a half hour!!!! Now it is being referred to a supervisor for investigation and if the first rep confirms my story, I might get reimbursed.

    The overall worst part is that AHS's customer service is outside the US I am in no way prejudice, but it is obvious that English is their second language which causes miscommunication. Calling them is an exercise in slow talking and patience. I am so unhappy with their phone customer service that I am going to change companies once the current issue is resolved.

    Moved into the house a few months ago and the appliance insurance was required by the lender. I had no objections. Early in July the circulation fan for the upstairs unit failed so I contacted AHS. The technician responded 1 week after the service request was submitted and after inspecting the unit told me that he needed to go and get the part. That was 2 weeks ago. So as of this upcoming Monday it will have been 3 weeks since I reported the outage and the unit still has not been repaired. Since I have never had appliance insurance before I'm quite new to the service. IS THIS WAIT TIME NORMAL?

    Simple: Requested service from AHS for A/C issue. They selected service TECH and charged me for service call and evaluation. TECH never followed up with them, or with me. I spent 2 weeks (TWO WEEKS) waiting in the SOUTHERN HEAT and decided to finally replace the unit. I followed up with AHS who said they would make a payment in lieu for the service that could have/should have been done; however, they needed the paperwork from their selected technician to determine the amount. TO BE FAIR: THEY HAD DONE SO THE PREVIOUS YEAR WITH MY SECOND A/C UNIT.

    Now, months later, and several calls and hours on the phone - they still don't have the report from the service tech that THEY SELECTED. Accordingly, they claim not to know how much to compensate. Two days ago, I called and they agreed that since no report had been filed, they would have to estimate a payment in lieu amount and call back in 48 hours. I did so today, and AGAIN - I get the answer that we are waiting on the report from the service TECH! This is a SCAM to see who can wait out the other. Disgusting. If all calls are really recorded, as they say on the many I have been on, they would do well to listen and learn how NOT to provide support. Really, a shame.

    Our AC stopped working in 100 degree Missouri weather. They couldn’t get someone out for 4 days. I asked them to look for someone sooner, so they cancelled the appt I had and after 5 hrs of looking, it was now out to 6 days. The person on the phone blamed me because I had asked for a closer date. Then they offered to have me find my own contractor. Come to find out they have a terrible reputation of not paying claims and leaving contractors on hold they wouldn’t do business with them. I paid out of pocket, got it fixed same day, and cancelled my contract with AHS. Unless you have a problem that can wait several days, this doesn’t work, they won’t call anyone outside who they contract with and that appears to be only a handful in our area.

    Our air conditioning had gone out, and I requested service on that. I did my claim with American Home Shield over the phone. Initially, it was an automated request. And then I had a chance to speak with a representative once I did not get a response from the initial company that they recommended. And so, that was a good interaction. They were able to identify someone, an alternative, and that was who came out.

    When the contractor came out, I shared with him what the issue was. He went out and started doing his work. We didn’t have a whole lot of interaction other than that, until he was done. And then he provided an overview of what he did, and he was able to resolve the issue. I was very pleased with not only him contacting me, letting me know that he was in route, when he was expected to come, but also what repairs he had to do, and making some other suggestions as well to get it resolved. The AC has been good and it’s working really well. In fact, it's better than it was before.

    I submit my claims online and that process with American Home Shield has been super simple. They get back to me the same day once I submit a claim. Recently, I've had claims with American Home Shield. With the dishwasher, everything went perfectly. With the Icemaker, everything went perfectly as well. I'm having a little trouble with my washing machine the other day. It started making a weird sound and started leaking everywhere. And it was the day before I left for vacation. I'm down here in Panama City. And it was supposed to be Monday, and they called and I never could get to my phone, and so, I missed the 10-minute window. And so, they rescheduled for today. I got my roommate there, and he leaves for work at 1:30 and they just called me and told me that there's something wrong with the van, he's running behind, but he will be there.     I had a leaking water heater so I went online on Thursday and made a service request with American Home Shield. The process is simple and you are walked through it. Their contractor, Kintex Plumbing, called me that day and told me they'd have to meet me on Friday to look at it. Their guy came out the next day and looked at the water heater. He diagnosed the issue, said he had to call American Home Shield for approval then he called me back to tell me that the request to put in a new water heater was approved. They would get the new one and they would be able to install it three days later. The plumber was Ike and he was a tremendous guy who did a really nice job. I’ve had American Home Shield for years. When we lived up north, I had it and just carried it forward when I moved down here. I always recommend them.

    There was a leak in the freezer of the refrigerator. I filed a service request and American Home Shield assigned somebody to come but that organization never called me or showed up. AHS told me the name of the place so I googled and called them. They said that they canceled 'cause they didn't service my city. I had to call back to AHS again and they assigned me somebody new. And then, the contractor called me back, came and fixed the freezer. My freezer has been working fine since.

    I put in a service request with American Home Shield for my AC, and Air Patrol came out. I have two units. One is not working, and one is not blowing cold air. So, they came and they fixed both the issues. Once they fixed it, there was a water leakage from one of the AC unit. So, they came back in and they fixed it. But I had the damage on my ceiling. I called them, they came, and they fixed that. That was a positive experience, but I also had very bad experience with American Home Shield. I made several calls, and I talked to the leadership, and I don't see any change. Most of the time, they will come and do something and say, "It is not covered." And I need to pay $75. And then, it takes 30 minutes to get somebody in the phone line, and they won't respond properly on the phone. But the latest time, when I called them, I was able to get somebody quickly.

    We had a problem with the air conditioner. It was running but no cold air was coming out. We did a claim with American Home Shield through a computer on the phone. We called on a Friday. So because of the weekend, A1 Mitchell’s Heating and Cooling didn’t get out until the following Monday. American Home Shield gave us A1 Mitchell and we called that same Friday to see if they could come out over the weekend, but they were already booked.

    When they came out, they had to come back in four days after they injected it to see where it was leaking. And then when they came back out, then they realized which parts were needed to be replaced. So they had to order the part and it was on back-order. They came back out a week later. Then when they put the new part in, something else went on it. So they had to order those parts and come back. So it was about three weeks before they got it running, but now it runs great. Other than this one time where it took that long to get all the parts, we’ve always had the contractors to come out. They either fixed the issue the same day or within a couple of days. If we get another house, we’re gonna definitely keep going with American Home Shield.

    Everything in the garage is connected to one GFI outlet. The thing shorted out and our freezer went out. We thought it might have been the freezer, but it wasn’t because when I plugged it in to some place in the house, the freezer worked. I called American Home Shield and told them I needed to have somebody come out because it was an emergency. This was on a Friday and they said somebody would be out there next week. But I couldn't wait until then. We had hundreds of dollars of food in the freezer. I was disappointed with American Home Shield. I haven’t had any problem with them in the past, but I was dissatisfied in this particular instance. I didn’t know if it was the freezer or not. They said that the outside freezers aren't covered under the contract. But I need to have somebody to come out and fix it.

    I got the name of the guy that was supposed to come. I called him and he said he would be right out in half an hour. The nice part was it was the day after the 4th of July and they were closed, but a guy came out anyway because he was worried about our freezer. We could lose all the food there. It turned out it was not the freezer but the GFI outlet so he replaced the outlet in the garage. It took him probably about 10 seconds.

I filed the claim online late on a Thursday evening, and the contractor didn’t contact us until Monday to make the appointment.     I just moved into the house and I needed rekeying. I submitted a claim with AHS then R&R Rekey & Locksmithing came out. They were great but some of the locks were not rekeyed because they weren’t rekeyable. So, I ended up paying more than I thought I would pay. I thought I was gonna pay $75 to have everything rekeyed but since there were some that were not rekeyable, the work that was done on them was not covered. It seemed to me like that should have been covered, but apparently, it wasn’t. Other than that, the locksmith company came ahead, did all the locks, and they were amazing. In fact, their tech had to come up with a couple of innovative solutions and he worked with his distributor or somebody at his company to get some additional parts for me. And he definitely went the extra mile.

    Aside from that claim, I’ve also used my AHS warranty a couple of times. I had a wobbly toilet where there was a disintegrating wax ring, so they had a plumber come out and take care of that. Then I had a garbage disposal issue and I also used the warranty on that. I also used AHS when I had a house in Dallas and I was happy with them. Whenever I have a claim, the techs get out either the same day or next day, and the problems get taken care of. So, I’m gonna continue after the first year. I feel good having a home warranty, too.

    My AC unit went out right in the middle of a heat wave. So, we put in a claim with American Home Shield, and it was Affordable AC Company who came out. And the guy weighted my situation and determined that it was the blower motor issue inside the AC unit. So, they ordered the control board that controls motors. And when they got that, they brought it back out to install it. But when they did, it wasn’t blowing like it should, and it was not even close to what it used to. So, it took them a week and a half to figure that out. And this is like 15 days at this point in the heat wave that we were going through because we had to also put in a new work order when they had that issue to get them back out here to figure out what was going on.

    So, they had called the manufacturer and figured it out. He told me that it was kind of an ordeal with them and the manufacturer, trying to figure out exactly what was going on because the manufacturer said, “No, we programmed that for that unit.” And then, he said, “Well, it’s not working.” So, then, he asked the manufacturer some questions. And it was determined in conclusion that what had happened, he came back out to fix it. And it was determined that the previous folks that installed this unit had reversed the wheelhouse in there on the motor. And it was not done by specification. They also had installed some other part that’s not a certified Trane part as well, which was odd.

    The guy from Affordable AC brought the blower motor in the cage and all the parts to fix it to see if that was it. Sure enough, it was. And he resolved it and got it going. And I’ve never heard that machine or the AC unit blow as hard as it does now. So, it’s a lot better. I’m hoping that it helps with my electricity bill that I’ve been having to deal with for the last 15 years.

    The service worked out for us. The part of the process in dealing with that particular issue worked as best as it probably could have worked. It’s just AC’s in demand, especially in the middle of heat waves, and everybody's busy trying to fix other AC units. Those guys were working from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Every time he came here during the evenings, he was having to go to another call after me. And that was gonna take him until about 10:00 PM to fix those issues. So, it is part of the deal. But I’m very pleased with the outcome in my situation. For what they had to encounter, the unknown, someone actually installing the unit incorrectly, to begin with, and then fixing that was awesome to me. It’s how it worked out, so I would give that company a 10.

    And as far as working with the claim with American Home Shield, it was spot on. I really loved that tracker. That helped me stay calm because I was actually going, “Where the hell is this dude?” It was like 110 degrees. I had to go out and buy a window AC unit to help with that. But we at least survived it. It was not the worst case scenario I’ve heard from other friends. So, it all went well. I have recommended American Home Shield to a bunch of people.

    When I call American Home Shield, their reps are so respective. They treat me like I'm their only customer. One afternoon, I submitted a claim to American Home Shield for a water heater issue. AHS head to get someone and they found Pruitt's Plumbing. They were around in 24 hours but then their tech had to drive up from Lake Havasu which was ways away. Still, they had the issue fixed within half an hour.

    That Friday, we had called for the plumber but then we found out that my electrical was messed up going into the water heater and it burnt out a thing in my panel outside. The plumber from Pruitt's called and arranged for an electrician to come out. He was was here within an hour and a half and they had that problem resolved too. The following Monday, they came back at 7 in the morning to replace the box outside. The company AHS got is really good. It was truly amazing how quickly everything got done. Overall, I had an awesome experience with AHS. They have taken care of me every time I've used them.

    United Air Temp came out to do my annual furnace cleaning, duct and air-conditioning check and the technician said that one of the capacitors was gone in my unit so he needed to replace it. They were already out here for maintenance and he said that if I call American Home Shield right then, I could tell them that he was already on-site, and he could go ahead and do the work. Since then, everything has been working perfectly. When I called in, the representative from American Home Shield was very helpful and prompt. She got me hooked up and talked to the technician to get the contract, the invoice, and stuff sent. So, everything went smoothly. The contractor was very thorough and I’ve used them for the last six years. It was a wonderful experience with AHS and I recommend them all the time.

    I flipped the air conditioner on one night and when I went down the basement on the next night, it was full of water. I called American Home Shield and filed a claim. The contractor came out and it was a line that was plugged up. So, the guy shot some air through there and unplugged it. The experience has been great with the contractors. You don’t have to wait and they’re usually here within a day or two. Also, their professionalism, level of knowledge and friendliness were good.

    My air conditioner wasn’t cooling and I went online to submit a claim with AHS. It was very easy and on the same day, I got a notice from the company that they assigned to my claim. They tried to set up an appointment for the next day and our interactions were very good. The contractors who came out were awesome, too and the unit has been working great since the repair.
