    When we had a plumbing issue with the dishwasher, I filed a claim with American Home Shield online and it went pretty easy. At first, AHS sent a guy from Sears for the dishwasher and he was nice. He checked and he said the work was more for a plumber, not an appliance issue. So the next time, AHS sent a plumber and he fixed it. AHS just charged one fee.

    We were having issues with our dryer and there was a gigantic noise. I called American Home Shield and customer service was very nice over the phone. They were very generous with their time in helping me figure things out because it was the first time I've ever used the warranty. A guy from Appliance Solutions came and fixed our appliance. He was knowledgeable and knew exactly what the issue was just by me describing it. He verified when he went in and checked it. He had the part in his van. Everything went really well. It was really easy. I'm very happy and satisfied.

    I had a problem with my dryer, and R & R came out, replaced something and my dryer worked like it used to. I put it on casual and in the beginning, it would dry the clothes and then it didn't, so I called back within the 60 days. I learned that lesson when a fix didn't work and I didn't call back in time. Anyway, the guy came out, ordered a part, and came back. He said it’s the same one he put in before and his supervisor said he can’t put it in. I didn't understand because I was thinking he would put something different in that would work better. I've filed quite a few claims and this is the only one I’m not happy with. I would have American Home Shield for two years at the end of this year too.

    The air conditioner wasn’t running. I called American Home Shield to submit a claim and paid the $75 fee. Then all the rest of the parts and everything they had to do to fix it was covered. It took two days for the tech from Ultimate Plumbing, Heating & AC to come out, which wasn't long, and they were good. It's all working great since the repair and I have no issues. I also have no complaints with American Home Shield and I would recommend it.

    Our air conditioner broke on Wednesday and we were told a technician couldn’t come out till Friday. We have been sleeping and living in 85 degree weather for two days at this point so yes I’m already a little ticked but I let it go. Well Friday comes and the technician was supposed to be here between 10-2.... He didn’t show up till 4pm. Then is here for a matter of 3 seconds and tells us it’s a bad compressor and couldn’t be fixed for another week!!!!

    So I call American Home shield and I’ve never experienced such terrible service in my life. I can barely understand what the service rep is saying, he just keeps telling me that he’s going to send an “urgent” email and that they’ll get back to him within 24-48 hrs!!!!! I then proceed to ask him if they can at least put us up in a hotel room so we’re not staying in a house with no air for a week. Basically tells me no and then I ask to speak to a supervisor. PUTS ME ON HOLD FOR 40 MINS. Then tells me that all the supervisors are busy and that he will send the email and they’ll get back to me and I said this is unacceptable and I demanded to speak to a supervisor this minute and so magically one becomes “available”.

    Well they transfer me over and then it disconnects me (they probably hung up bc they don’t want to deal with me). We now are having to pay out of pocket because they refuse to help us out and get us a new air conditioner within a timely manner. THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE. DO NOT BUY THIS HOME WARRANTY.

    We have been customers of American Home Shield for both our homes for about 4 or 5 years now. My dishwasher broke on the 1st of July and I got a mechanic to come take a look by the end of the week. He said there are parts for the 15 year old dishwasher to be ordered and he left. The mechanic's company never called me to set up an appointment for about two weeks after that. So I called back. They said they haven't gotten the parts and they will call back ...I called up the next week hoping that they got the parts...but no. So approximately by the end of July I called up AHS hoping they would give me better answers. They told me that the vendor ordered wrong parts and they would need to order a board and that board is on backorder. This story went on for another two weeks. So by this time we were in Mid August. Almost month and half.

    So when I called AHS again they told me that the mechanic ordered the wrong part and they are waiting on the part. On pressing more one of the rep's told me that AHS has to approve the part that they ordered and they are waiting on that. Every phone call of late has been no less that 45 min with them. I tried to get the supervisor after the third series of the storyline started (they ordered the wrong part one) but the supervisor would not come on the phone. Finally called them up today, again, been on the phone, hold, transferred (almost an hour) and today I was told they will send the part to the vendor by 30th of Aug. So two months.... that’s the turnaround time. Very disappointing.

    Our air conditioner went on the fritz. AC repair person said it was fine, returned home to soaring internal temps with a 90 year old inside. I did what the Home Shield site stated, restarted the breaker and the compressor’s Freon escaped into atmosphere. Had to move family to motel for a week. Now with replacement parts that are, IMO, dubious, the failure of compressor reoccurred less than 12 days later and am I supposed to just “eat” the situation? This isn’t the way to treat your customers! This is an example of poor quality control at the very best, of can be said about this.

    When things are going good, no need to contact them. Its when things are broken and need attention our expectation was simple timely and appropriate repair. Many of the contractors were not good and appeared second rate. We had to request 2nd opinion many times with different diagnosis. Then when asked for the report nothing given. They always were giving excuses on why it is not covered. I was patient as I am not good with repairs, but that last service took 6 calls, second opinions (at charge) and no proper feed back.

    Each time I call I can expect to be on hold a minimum of 30min and one time was on hold for 1hr and 40min talked with supervisor and they promised follow up in 24-4hrs - 8 days later nothing. We couldn't handle the poor service any longer. It is much cheaper to pay a contractor directly after calculating the monthly fee, then the $75 deductible each time. I think it is best to simply place the monthly $85 in a savings fund for repairs and I will easily come out ahead. FYI - for cancelling the service it took me more than hour also.

    Contractor came out fairly quickly. Scheduled an appointment for the next day and no showed. Then calls to tells us it'll be a week before he can install AC because he is waiting on parts? Makes no sense. We live between 3 major cities in the US. Between Houston San Antonio and Austin - someone has an AC that works for our home. Then called AHS for some help and no one knows where the parts are or is even showing they were ever ordered in the system. We're going on day 3 of having heat stress. It's 103 degrees with a 3 year old and 6 year old that has had open heart surgery. No one has any information to tell us about when we're getting our AC installed. Pure incompetency on all levels. I cannot believe the customer service department can't communicate with their own authorization department to let the homeowners know something.

    There was a time when our air conditioning went out and we submitted a claim online to American Home Shield. Their website is very easy to navigate. Their contractor gave me a call but then they got backed up that day because of the rain. Still, they called to let me know everything the entire time.     Kelly’s Appliance Services came out for the clothes washer that was not working. The service technician said the bearings were no longer at their best. When the service technician came out right away, that was smooth. But the delivery could have been better. They came out the first time and they went as far as having a washing machine on the ground ready to be put in my house, but they decided to just take it back when they saw that I had a different dryer. The professionalism could have been a little better just because we had to reschedule twice. And the second time, I almost felt like they were running behind and they just kinda gave me an excuse saying my washer was broken and they needed to order me a new one. But overall, American Home Shield got the job done so that’s all that matters.

    I spoke to a representative when I filed a claim and it was good. American Home Shield had Air First Mechanical come out, but since the unit was frozen, they could not complete it all at once.     The compressor went out on my AC and A-US Air Conditioning of Texas came out to replace the compressor and some hose. I submitted the claim online and then they called to set up an appointment. American Home Shield's website was easy to maneuver. Since that was on a Friday, they weren’t able to come out until that Monday. But, the contractors were very nice and they explained everything they needed to do. They were courteous and friendly, and they did a good job. Everything has been going well and I’ve had a satisfying experience. The customer service was great. The contractor came out in a timely manner considering the weekend issue. I would recommend AHS.

    Air Pro Master did everything fine. They came out and fixed my plumbing issue. The faucets were all leaking in a couple of the sinks, a bathtub and a shower.     I file my claims with American Home Shield online and the online process is easy to navigate. Then, on average, a contractor comes out in one to three days depending on schedules and things of that nature. This year, I've done two claims - one was for the air conditioning and the other was for plumbing and both of them were just fine. For the HVAC situation, it was Freon and it was something that AHS doesn't cover so I had to pay the deductible fee plus $325. Overall, though, I would recommend AHS and I have.

    I was having problems with the refrigerator, specifically, the icemaker. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield online and the process was very easy. It took the contractor a day to contact me and a couple of days after that, they came out for the initial inspection. It was a good amount of time in terms of getting back to me and scheduling it. They worked around my schedule very, very well. Also, the team that came out did amazing. They were very prompt and very nice. They had to order a part and it took them four more days to call me to reschedule a follow-up. Then, they came back and the icemaker has been working perfectly since.

    I went online and did a claim with American Home Shield. Our AC was turning on and it was blowing, but it wasn’t blowing cold air. The AHS website was okay. The problem was they couldn’t send anybody out for a week. We are in a really hot area so I had to call a couple of times and I talked to somebody else to see if I could get somebody sooner. I have a baby so I was really trying to get it fixed because it gets over 100 degrees up here. It was miserable. AHS ended up sending a different company out since the first company couldn’t come sooner.

    Someone from Tempest HVAC came in two days. They initially wanted me to wait the beginning to the end of the week. But I talked to my Realtor and my Realtor expedited it. She called somebody. All of a sudden, we had the AC at our door the next day. The tech was really good. He advised me of the cost before he started working. He explained everything and he said he replaced the capacitor. Everything has been working perfectly.

    We had an issue in our condo in Las Vegas, and I was able to go online, and I entered a request. It was super easy. And there was a repair person who contacted me within an hour. And they scheduled to come out the next day and did what they had to do. It was so smooth. I’ve been a customer of American Home Shield for about nine years.     I am very disappointed and displeased with American Home Shield's service. I requested Service on June 4, 2019. Someone came out on June 12, 2019 for service on the AC unit. Today is August 22, 2019 and the unit has not been repaired or replaced. I have called several times to speak with someone concerning this matter with no return phone calls. I am at a point that I am seriously thinking of cancelling my policies. An entire summer without AC!! This is not fair. If I wasn't paying my payments they would be calling me every day. I will also be doing a review on the Better Business Bureau.

    I have had AHS for years and have been very pleased with them in the past. However, that recently changed. I live in Las Vegas and our air conditioning broke. I called and made a service request. AHS sent out a contractor quickly. However, after the contractor diagnosed the problem and informed AHS of such, AHS failed to respond to the contractor to authorize a repair that is clearly covered under my contract. In the meantime, I had been calling and speaking with AHS regarding why it had been over a week and my a/c had not been fixed. AHS kept blaming the contractor. On 3 occasions I requested that a supervisor return my call. I never received a call. I still am without air and have not had resolution of my problem.     I have been an American Home Shield customer for almost 8 years. I recently moved and had to cancel the policy on my old home. However, I immediately opened a policy at my new address. I understand, there is a cancellation fee but being a loyal customer for nearly a decade should count for something. I made three attempts to talk to a supervisor about possibly waiving the fee. Each time the customer service representative was rude and told me a supervisor was not available. I was eventually told a supervisor would call me back by the end of the day.

    Almost a week has gone by and not one word from AHS. I refuse to pay the equivalent of two months premium, simply because I’ve moved. AHS has proven they do not value customer loyalty. I will not continue to spend my hard earned dollar with such a company especially when their competitors offer plans that are comparable, have a cheaper premium, and have better consumer reviews. I will be canceling my new policy today.

    I have been trying to get a claim process for over a year. Second air conditioner went out and for each one I had to wait a week to get a service person out to assess. Then they said it would take another two weeks to get parts in and come out and make the repair. Simply not acceptable in the middle of summer in Phoenix. Had to do cash in lieu of repair because there’s no way to be without an air conditioning unit for weeks at a time during the summer. They paid the first one but the second they kept saying they would send a payment and never did. Finally a year later they said they needed a receipt. They never said once they needed a receipt nor did they require a receipt for the first unit. Total scam. I will never, never buy their services again.

    This warranty company is a scam. Their customer service line is terrible and they do not solve any problems, just continue to repeat the same answer. They lied about replacing my 20+ year old AC claiming it "works" every time it had a Freon leak. $50-70 a month fee plus $75 service charge per call. Save your money.

    I'm going to be very pragmatic on my comment. My AC got broken and I called AHS. I paid the service fee of 100. Contractor came and said that I needed Freon. AHS only covered 10 dollars per pound. I had to pay 75 dollars per every pound used. Contractor put 2 pounds so I ended up paying 150, plus the service fee of 100. My AC still didn't work. Therefore, I called again AHS. They sent the same contractor who now found out that I had a leakage and that the whole fix, after deducting what AHS covered, would cost me 1800 dollars. Amount which would come out of my pocket. I was also given option 2, to replace whole unit for 6000 dollars at my expense. AHS would cover 600 or 700 of such repair.

    I decided to call another contractor, who fixed my AC FOR 200. I felt ripped off. I cancelled my service because I paid for this service supposedly when things like this happen. I never called them and I paid always on time. My major upset came a week after I cancelled, for AHS is charging me 36 dollars cancellation fee. It's not that much money, but honestly I don't think it is correct to charge me since they didn't fix my AC. Horrible experience.

    I've now tried 3 times and waited 20+ days to have my a/c serviced and now found out they have increased my monthly rate by 30% but online they show my old rate. Every time you call in expect 30-60 minutes of hold time and talk to someone offshore. Stay away and look elsewhere!!!

    My air conditioner was not blowing cold air. There was a capacitor that was fried. A few days after I made a claim with American Home Shield, a contractor came out. They were good and they took care of everything on the same day. This is the third time I've used this contractor - one time through the warranty and one time independently. They are probably the best service provider I've had through American Home Shield.

    American Home Shield's service itself is fine, but it really depends on the service provider who is actually coming over. The inability to choose or see reviews is my biggest complaint about it. I've had some really bad service providers. I've had the misfortune of having to use my home warranty seven times this year because I have a new property and a lot of things have been failing on it. The HVAC contractor was really good. There was an appliance repair person from Sears who was really good too. But everyone else was kinda lousy.

    My air conditioner stopped producing cold air. And the people that American Home Shield chose to come and help me were very responsive. They came out within an hour after I filed a claim. It was really pretty good. The service guy found some bad wiring and he fixed it, and the air conditioner’s been working great ever since. The way I submit a claim with AHS depends on the level of seriousness. If it’s something that is not too urgent, I could do it online. And if it’s something that’s urgent, I’ll call American Home Shield and do it on the phone. Their reps are very helpful usually. I’ve never had a problem. I recommend American Home Shield highly.     I've had several subcontractors for American Home Shield in the last year. Changing Winds was sent and James, who was a one-man operation, came out. And he replaced our condensation pump after it stopped working. The line was clogged, the tray's filled with water, and then broke through the ceiling into the living room. I actually called American Home Shield to say, "You can send that guy to my house any time." He was spectacular. And that's the third different sub we had to come and try to fix this problem over the last two and half years, and he was the only one who figured it out and got it done. And he was here for so long. He worked so hard, kept trying things to figure it out, and if that didn't work, he’d say, "Well, let's try this."

    I called American Home Shield to submit my claim and I said, "Hey, I am a customer for American Home Shield. Can you please send me someone to fix the condensation pump in an HVAC unit." And then they assigned me to Changing Winds, and that was how it happened and how it always happen. I was so impressed with James that I went out of my way to call American Home Shield. They listened. They've sent me some subs in the past that were not great, and this guy was beyond great. James and Changing Winds is 100% a 5.

    I would highly recommend American Home Shield, and I’ve had no problems with it since I’ve been in my home for a month and a half. And sadly, I’ve used them more than I needed to use them since I’ve been in the home. But they’ve been great. I’ve had two AC units installed, and some electrician work as well. And I’ve done both online, in the app, and over the phone. They give me a notice as when to expect the contractors. I had an air conditioning condenser that went out, and I called in the claim with AHS. I used the 1-800 number. The contractor from Mel’s Preventive Maintenance came out and replaced it.     It used to be easy to file a claim with American Home Shield, but it’s hard to get in contact with them now, unless you call late at night or early in the morning. During the day, it’s 45 minutes to an hour of waiting for someone to pick up. Still, I never had a problem. They always say that the contractor will contact you within 24 hours and normally, it’s quicker than that. When the temperature with my freezer was not the same, the contractor fixed it right away. It was a fan motor, so he installed that and so far, so good.

    I filed my claim with AHS yesterday at 1 o’clock, and the contractors are coming out tomorrow. Initially Express Heating went out to do my ac and they're all good. The contractor was very nice. He took his time and tried to be as thorough as he could. But this follow-up is of the same issue. Initially my ac was fixed. The air conditioning came back on.     American Home Shield did everything they said they were gonna do. I did a claim with them when our pipe overflowed. When I turned the water on, it overflowed and flooded in the bottom of the sink. The pipe needed to be cleaned out. When I did the claim online and put in my name, it autopopulated my old address and I didn’t catch that. Other than that mistake, the process was fine.     I had an 80 gallon water heater that was piped into my geothermal. It went out and I submitted a job request. AHS wanted to replace it with a 50 gallon instead of the 80. I needed the same water heater so I was told I could pay and have the 80 installed and receive a pay out for what they would cover. I went ahead and had it done. My first call to AHS the associate took my info and said I would receive an offer via email within 7 business days. Weeks later call #2. I call as they haven't got back with me. AHS associate said they were just waiting on me to send an invoice (which was never communicated). I hung up and emailed said invoice.

    Weeks later again (today) I call and an associate tells me they will not be processing a cash out. I laugh and get transferred to someone else. The Lady tells me I can't be paid because I had them do the work already!?!? I said excuse me. The story changed a few times and she said I should not have had the work done before I received a payout option. I was never told this til just now months later. lol. Apparently you are not supposed to have the AHS contractor they send out do the work if you want them to give you a payout. It was really exhausting listening to the explanations. The water heater and installation cost me over 2k.

    Her bottom line was that I will not be paid because I had the contractor they sent out do the installation. Clearly this is a company out to make money on hoping people forget and give up on claims. I will be handing it over to my attorney tomorrow so now they can pay the invoice plus attorney fees. Highly recommend against this company. Clearly after the bottom dollar and not there for the customers best interest.

    The spring on my garage door broke, and a car was stuck in the garage. I contacted American Home Shield, and the garage door repair company phoned me shortly thereafter (much to my relief). The communication was excellent and they did the repair by early afternoon. When the door contractor called me he told me they always repair both springs if they can, and he gave me favorable pricing to do so as it would save money in the long run. Everything was done quickly and effectively and for a lot less money than I would have paid without the warranty. I am very pleased!

    I've been an American Home Shield member for years, and will be in the future because they do a great job. My home warranty has been so worth the price, and their customer service is top notch. The only issue has been with some of the repair companies that they contract with. Through the years I've had maybe 2 bad experiences with repair companies being flaky and/or not completing things in a timely manner. Both times I contacted American Home Shield customer service, and they were awesome.     Only choosing 1 star because 0 wasn't able to be chosen. AC Issue began on 6/7, was completely patient understanding it would take time to get out and get resolved. While waiting, 2nd zone went out, leaving without any zones working in the dead of summer. Initially after placing call for 2nd zone, was told it would be 3 weeks to get done. Called AHS at which point I talked to the only positive on this voyage - she teamed the work with the same company that was coming to fix the first unit. Hurray, right? 2nd unit had to have fan replacement - so parts took weeks to get in and then return visit was scheduled, so continued running one unit the entire time. Finally the 2nd unit got fixed - but at the same time the first went down again.

    Chalked it up to bad luck; however this is where it gets worse. I logged ANOTHER ticket - still same 10 days prior to visit - and then...when they came there was an issue so they put nitrogen in to check pressure on a return visit. Paperwork was mishandled and didn't receive any return calls, so called back 10 days later and sat on/off hold for 3 hours only to find they would email the authorization department. I said I needed confirmation and was told ALL they could do was send an email. Obviously frustrated, hung up and waited for the results of that magical email to authorization. Another week passes - no calls. I call AHS back up and get fed the same answers at which point I told them it was unacceptable and I needed to be copied on the email to authorization; to which I was told they couldn't do that.

    As it turns out, after sitting on hold requesting to talk to someone higher up there was a dropped ball and the 'authorization' I was waiting for couldn't be found in their system - obviously would have been great to know that a week prior. Thankful I was finally talking to someone who actually understood the situation - I asked what do we need to do; at which point I was told they needed authorization from me on coolant. I let her know I would have paid that the same day of the original visit and had offered to, but said ok and we could continue. Got the call from local company, paid the coolant charge, and the best they could do was Wednesday (today August 21st) from Friday. Whatever right - as long as it's finally fixed.

    Tech comes out and the coolant wasn't the only issue - more parts are needed. We're now 2.5 months from initial call. I'm out ~$2k between coolant fees and trip charges (on top of the annual fee) and absolutely nothing is resolved. Downstairs is at its coolest at 90, upstairs drops into the low 80's at night. I obviously voiced my frustration on the phone and have gotten 0 commitment to request for resolution this week. You can find a better warranty company - I promise you that. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere, this isn't it.

    I've had AHS warranty for several years and has been a decent experience. This last time though really upset me. In June of this year (2019), my heat pump went out and they contacted the local heat and air company. Service call was performed of which I paid for. It was determined that I needed a new compressor that AHS would pay for and install. I was good with that except for the fact they will only pay for $10 per pound of freon. Well, it takes about 10 pounds of freon and the heat and air company charges $120 per pound (A Huge Ripoff!!). They won't budge on their price. Since I am in the process of selling my home, I was in no hurry to get this repaired (house was empty). I asked the heat and air company to hold the ticket open until I found a buyer, said he would.

    After approximately 10 weeks (70 days) they close the ticket. I called to give them the go ahead to fix my unit and was told since it had been over 60 days, they would have to charge me another service fee! Asked to speak to a supervisor and was told he or she was busy and that they would tell me the same thing, "after 60 days a new service call has to be initiated". I could understand if it was for another broken item but, this was for the same issue. I feel like they won't budge on anything to make the customer happy. I have had their warranty for several years and a have more than paid for all of this in monthly charges!

    I’m a real estate agent and I buy for my buyers American Home Shield warranties. I have a to-go person there and when we had a heat pump that was leaking, I contacted him. He did the arrangement and it was smooth and perfect. Because of the second damages on the floor, I got an expedite work order. The first company tried to get me over but it did not work.     This company does not provide the services it promises and is fraudulent. On 7/31/19, my husband and I put in a ticket, because our AC was not working. On 8/2/19, a contractor came to the house, and admitted there was a problem with the inside unit, but he refused to work, when he saw the cover on the outside unit was cracked. He left. I called AHS immediately, and they marked the case as urgent. I shared that I had brain surgery in May and my dog is epileptic, and we could not do without the air in the heat and humidity of Chicago. I never heard back from them on 8/3/19. On 8/5/19, I called again, and I was promised a phone call back that same day. That did not happen. I called on 8/7/19, cancelled our warranty for the next year and requested the $75 service fee be refunded. The woman asked, if they could get someone out to fix our AC, if I would consider staying with AHS - that should have happened anyways.

    I was promised a phone call back from a supervisor, but that it would come on 8/8/19, and he would be able to reissue the $75. That never happened. I called on 8/19/19, and I was finally told in 5-7 business days, we should get the $75 refunded, and they would look into why the AC was not fixed. I said they should pay towards what we had to pay to have a completely different company fix the air, because they were not responding, fixing the problem or holding up their end of the contract. The woman said that would not happen. She promised to call me on 8/20/19 with an update, and that also has not happened.

    We should never have had to go with another company to have our AC fixed given that we have paid our monthly payments to have AHS since August 2016, and we paid our $75 dollar service fee. They have given us nothing but run around and we still don't have the $75 refunded. This is fraud, and our entire contract should be reimbursed or money paid towards, what we had to pay out of pocket to go with a different company. This all happened in 90 degree weather plus humidity, and they did not even give a damn and still do not.

    I've had AHS for several years now, and this is the second time I've used them for my new (YEP, NEW / three-year-old) AC system, and they've been great! The blower motor became frozen and needed to be replaced, on a weekend. I had two different companies come out to diagnose it, and they both gave the same conclusion; however, their fees for a weekend replacement were exorbitant! The part was still under warranty, but the labor, nope! I figured I could ride it out for a day or two and then deal with it on Monday.

    I submitted my request for service via AHS website and heard from the AC repair company rather quickly. They were able to have a technician come to my home that afternoon, and the work was completed in less than an hour. The scheduler in the AC company's office was great and the tech was excellent; I cannot recommend them highly enough. I own an older mobile home and love the feeling of security I have w/ AHS. I hope I never have to use my plan, but I'm so glad it's there when I do need it! I imagine I've saved several hundred dollars over the three years I've had AHS and I plan on remaining a loyal and happy AHS member!

    I recently signed in for the home warranty with this company. Their customer service representatives are RUDE & Unprofessional. DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY. My water heater got leaks and When I called this guys, they charged me 100$ for a plumber visit and then he identified that we need to replace the water heater. After that they made us wait more than a week with no response. When we called them to check none of the representatives responded with correct information. They told all false information. When we asked to transfer to the supervisor they were disconnecting the call. We were struggling to fix the leaking water heater and we told we want cancel the contract because of their unprofessional response. They told that they won't refund us full. They will deduct 100$ from us. They are horrible. I am planning to sue them.

    Our air conditioning unit went out and American Home Shield got a person who came in and fixed it. But the AC went out again. I looked online and AHS had assigned the same person to do it again. But the person never received the notification. I had him come out anyway, on my own, because I needed the AC right then. It was my birthday and it was 104 degrees out. And then we saw that American Home Shield had switched my service request to another vendor. I just canceled that and paid for the service myself. But I was okay with it because I wanted it. It was an emergency because I didn't wanna sit in 104-degree weather after my birthday. The electronic service is wonderful although in terms of doing things online, there was a glitch there.

The guy came to check my air conditioning because it wasn’t cooling the upstairs. He made sure that it was not an issue with the air conditioning unit itself.     There was a leak under our kitchen fridge and it was creating water hazard in the kitchen. I submitted a claim for it online -- as I always do things with American Home Shield. It was so much easier. Allen Appliance Services, the contractor, took two or three days to come out, but I wasn’t concerned. It was not an emergency. They were excellent, and they knew what was going on and what the fix was going to be -- it’s a very popular model of the fridge. Then, they were very detailed into what was going to happen and I followed their instructions. Everything worked out fine when they finally got the part in, which took another week. Their service and the copay, however, can get cheaper.

    For my first claim, I submitted it over the phone. Then the second one, when the contractor had to come back out, I did it online -- sometimes, the option that I’m looking for, may not be there, though. The problem I had with my air conditioner was that it was leaking and that wasn’t an option that I could select. So, I called it in.     We've had our home warranty with American Home Shield since we moved in the house in 2012. We usually call in our claims and sometimes, we get a recording but if I talk to somebody and I have any questions or anything, they are very helpful.     A Wisdom Electric came out for the electrical conduit to my air conditioning unit but because of my interaction with the contractor and the situation, I have considered going back to Fidelity National Home Warranty. That’s the company that I had prior to American Home Shield. I went with American Home Shield because you’re not locked in to a contract and it was cheaper. But the contractor from A Wisdom Electric wasn't the most professional person. We went up on the roof to look at my air conditioning unit is and he insisted that the problem was caused by somebody actually pulling my conduit out instead of acknowledging that this was a problem. But I didn't feel like somebody had maliciously stepped on the conduit to pull the wires out.

    Another thing is that I paid the $100 fee to have somebody come out but because the contractor didn't get American Home Shield to correct the problem, I ended up having to pay another $110 out of pocket to get somebody to come and fix it. And this contractor couldn't understand why the other electrician said that the issue was caused by somebody pulling the conduit out. So my experience was very frustrating. The fact that the claim was denied because the contractor reported that it wasn’t a wear-and-tear situation and that somebody had actually done this was also very disconcerting. I was not pleased at all.

    I also can never figure out how to submit claims online. I tried but that did not work out for me. I actually called for this claim and submitting it was pretty easy. However, it was very difficult understanding the person that I was speaking to and trying to explain my problem to. I felt like I got the runaround. It took a couple of people for me to finally get through to explain what it was that was the problem.

    Our built-in microwave stopped working and we filed a claim with American Home Shield to get a technician to come see it. I usually submit claims online and the online system seems fine. The tech then came out, took a look at the microwave, and realized there was a fuse that had to be ordered and replaced. He ordered it and the part arrived a couple of days later. But to get a tech to come back out took some time. We had to wait about a week and I had to call AHS and have someone reach out to me to schedule a time.     Filed my service request on 08/14/2019 for broken air conditioner. Contractor promptly came on 15th morning and diagnosed the problem. Today is 08/20/2019 4PM. Still no resolution. It's Arizona with current temperatures in 110-114F range. AHS authorization department is still sitting on it. Every call to customer service is routed to an agent who can barely put together a sentence of English. One agent will say the request is approved, I will then call contractor who will say it's not approved. I will then call AHS again and they will say it is indeed not approved but they are waiting for authorization department and I am not allowed to talk to that department.

    Had American Home Shield on 2 homes I owned. I sold one and tried to have it cancel multiple times over a 9 month period and the only way if finally canceled was by canceling my credit card. Second, I tried to use my warranty on another home to fix my AC. I was told it was going to take 3 weeks, so I canceled this the following week (again, the only way to get it canceled was to cancel the payment on my credit card). So for the first house, they owed me a credit which I never received. Now they are calling me daily to get payment on the dwelling I still own, I explained to them I would be happy to continue the service if they apply the credit they owe me for the one they collected for 9 months that I didn't own. Then they say they will connect me to the next level of customer service, I tell them the situation and then they say, "I'm going to put you on a brief hold to review your notes" and then I get disconnected. This has happened over 10 times.

    I needed to have my air conditioner repaired. I paid my $100 service call fee and then am now getting hit with $325 in extra charges. They are supposed to cover $10 per pound of refrigerant but covered $0 and they are charging $125 because the coil inside the air conditioner isn’t out in the open. When I signed up they told me all labor was covered. There was just some things like refrigerant that was not covered. I wish I had never went with this company. I will be looking for much better coverage in the future.

    My AC went out on a Sunday evening. Put in service request first thing Monday morning and service was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. I asked AHS if I could use different company or expedite service call and was told the temp of the house had to be at least 105 degrees in order to make a scheduling change. Didn't matter that I have two younger daughters and a small dog that would have to endure house temperatures in the mid-90s. The following day my service request was mysteriously cancelled in their system and AHS couldn't tell me why it happened. They were going to have to reschedule service which would mean a longer amount of time without AC in my home. The customer service is poor at best and the concern for the people they serve seems almost non-existent. In the future if I buy a home I will be asking for a home warranty through a different company.

    On July 23rd I notice my HVAC unit was leaking and causing water damage to my property. I contacted American Home Shield and an AC tech was sent over. AC tech told my tenants that if it leaks again I should call a plumber. Of course it leaked again! On August 13th I called American Home Shield again. They put me in touch with Flow Right Plumbing. The first day, Flow Right didn't show up at all. The second day they didn't come at all. By the third day, I received a call from my neighbor saying that they had a notice on their door from Flow Right Plumbing with my name on it. Idiots went to the wrong house.

    I called American Home Shield and told them I was not happy with Flow Right Plumbing and that I wanted a different company. American Home Shield proceeds to tell me that Flow Right has to complete the job and that in the notes, they (Flow Right) reported that they came to my house twice with no response. I quickly disputed their claim and said they never showed and in fact went to the wrong address even though the correct address is on all documentation. After being on hold forever, authorization was given to seek another plumbing coming. The American Home Shield representative said someone from the new plumbing company would call me within 4 hours. I never received that phone call.

    The next day I called American Home Shield again and they tell me that they do not have any plumbing companies available in my area and that I could pay for it myself and send them the bill. Of course this pissed me off because if I had the upfront money to pay for a plumber, I wouldn't need American Home Shield. After several minutes of me arguing with them about their poor service, I was placed on hold again while the representative looked for a plumber.

    Eventually the representative returned to the phone with an alternative plumbing company but said they were closed for the day and gave me two telephone numbers, to call them myself in the morning and make arrangements! Are you kidding me? So basically I have to pay American Home Shield to google a plumber so that I can call and make the arrangements. Oh thank you American Home Shield for allowing me to pay YOU, to do it myself! My ceiling has been leaking since July 23rd. The water damage is getting worst every day. It has been 7 days between August 13th when I first requested a plumber and today. Still no plumber. In fact, there's not even a plumbing company assigned. I am canceling both of my American Home Shield contracts and checking out another company like American Residential Warranty.

    Decent service if you never experience a problem, but I have spent multiple hours (over 5 separate phone calls) with customer service, hearing the same prompts repeated to me over and over again, refusing to let me speak with a supervisor with no resolution of the problem. What is the problem I am trying to resolve? Over a month ago I requested service for my water heater. The technician they sent out arrived an hour late and HIGH (very strong smell of ** on him). He was extremely unprofessional, and all he did to attempt to repair the water heater was drain it and refill it (which I had done by myself), and then submit a request for replacing the water heater.

    I never heard anything back about replacing the water heater so I called AHS for an update. They could not check with their own replacement approvals department to see if it had been approved, but said that it could take up to another week to process. I am now 1.5 months out from the original request for service, and am on my 5th call with customer service, having them. At this point, I have wasted so many hours on this that I just asked if they could refund the dispatch fee and I'll handle it myself. Of course, they can't do that either. Needless to say, I will not be renewing my home warranty with American Home Shield.

    I contacted AHS and requested a service to fix my AC. They assigned me a contractor who is supposed to contact me in 24 hours. I was never contacted till I called them after 2 days and I was told that they are fully booked for 2 weeks and should ask AHS to assign a different contractor! I called AHS and they said they need to contact the original contractor and confirm it. AHS that I should call them back till get the first contractor online and find another one!!! I spent 2 X 30 minutes online and still is not res albeit that I had already paid $75! Why should I waste my time and chase AHS and subcontractor? What is the purpose of having AHS?

The vendor who responded was rude and did not fix the problem. I contacted AHS and was told the repair was not covered because the issue was not “normal wear and tear”. I pointed out the language in the contract that provides coverage in addition to normal wear and tear, including improper repairs. The AHS representative refused to acknowledge this. After speaking to several other AHS employees, I finally spoke to an employee who acknowledged the additional coverage but stated it do not apply in my situation because the improper repair was not to a covered item, even the item is clearly covered in the contract.

    AHS refused to follow their own contract and thereby violated the provisions of our agreement. Therefore, I contacted my credit card company to dispute the service fee and blocked AHS from charging to my card. I also contacted AHS to cancel. AHS told my wife their “system was down” and were unable to process the cancellation. Don’t use AHS. Set aside the $ you would spend on AHS in the bank and don’t touch it until you have household equipment that breaks. You can then decide what gets covered, not AHS.

    American Home Shield sent a contractor who came out a few times. My dishwasher leaked, they fixed the leak, then there was a different leak and they fixed it. There were different leaks fixed like three times. And then, a couple of days later, there was a leak, and we were all dumbfounded because they changed pretty much everything and it's a very basic dishwasher. So I had requested them to come back out, and that was when American Home Shield sent a different company out. And I wasn't able to stay home. My wife was there and I'm the one who's followed through with everything that's been done from the beginning. So, the guy checked everything, looked at everything around the dishwasher, and there were no leaks. It's just periodic when it leaks. So, at that point, I just threw my hands up and said, "All right. Well, it hasn't leaked again yet." And it's going on a week and a half now, so hopefully it doesn't happen again.

    The problem is when it leaks, it leaves water on the floor, and then it's so slippery. The kids are running or my wife. They might slip and fall. And for six months, we had a towel down there soaking it up and it doesn't look right. It's crazy because it's a pretty basic washer. I know so well the guy that was coming out before to fix it and replace the leaks in the first place, and he's helped us with other appliances. He gives great service. Everyone's awesome, too.

    90% of the time, I'm the one that loads the dishwasher and we use the same soap. And even the guy just checked the soap, we even put a double soap just to see if it's just lathering so much that it's seeping through somewhere. It was not the case. The soaps that we use don't even have much suds at all. So when the new guy came out, because when we had few dishes in there at one point, he said, "Well, you don't have enough dirt or there's not enough in there." It was like he gave some excuse.

    I'm just thinking, "Oh, forget it. Come on, buddy, It shouldn't leak any way no matter what unless you put a ton of soap." With the clothes washer, if there's too much soap, it's gonna overflow somewhere. But the funny thing is there's never been soapy water on the floor. It's fresh water. We're just keeping our fingers crossed hoping it works. When the owner of the company came the latest time, the dishwasher wasn't leaking, and he kept trying forever. After 20 minutes trying stuff, finally, there was a leak. And then, he saw where it was coming from and he sent this other guy to change out the parts. But this last guy, he's a really old guy and he barely moved. He gave it a good shot and I'm sure he's very experienced, but he just couldn't get it to leak. It's so frustrating, because if it leaks again after two weeks or so, it's another $75.

    At that point, we'll just figure it out and probably have to get it changed out. We love that dishwasher, so not trying to finagle anything. If anything, we'd wait till closer time to sell the house and put something new in, but we just don't want it to leak. Since the latest guy had been out, we haven't had the leak yet. But that one leak after the previous repair just really screwed my head up. Nothing's changed since then and so far, we're doing okay.

    There was a time when I was having issues with my microwave. I called American Home Shield and asked if they could send a technician out to check my fuse box. Initially, I thought the problem was a fuse or a short. AHS sent the contractor they reached out to and their tech came out. He was at my place the next day and he was a super nice guy and he looked at everything. He even went outside. After which, he told me that the problem was not from there and said that he would look at some other things.

    Splash Pool Care came out to service my request and did a great job. It was very simple to submit my claim online with American Home Shield. They said the contractor would call within 24 to 48 hours and they did. Then the contractor was out within a day or two after that. We just had to schedule a time that worked for both of us. He was very prompt and personable, and he was in and out in two hours. It was awesome. But the pool motor that was replaced is kinda acting up now. It's making this weird noise.     We had an air conditioning problem where our condenser went out. It stopped working three weeks prior to me reaching out to American Home Shield, and a technician came out and fixed it. It broke again a week later, and it took about another week to get it fixed. Since they replaced the condenser, it's been working perfectly. It would've been nice if initially they would've fixed it correctly instead of it blowing up and being without air conditioning in Texas for two weeks. But once they figured out the real problem and it did blow up, then they fixed it just fine.

    With the type of the condenser that we have, they said it uses refrigerant and will be illegal in 2020. So, American Home Shield was great. They called and lined out all the things that would be out of pocket and all the things they were covering. But I asked them, "Well, what if we wanted to upgrade to one that would not be illegal in four months?" And they didn't understand the question. I had to go to that person's manager, and then that person's manager said, "Actually, this isn't our department. Someone from a different department will call you back to talk about it." And no one ever called me back.

    That wasn't ideal. We just moved forward because it was over 100 degrees and we needed it fixed. So, if it breaks in January, we're still under home warranty, and it's illegal. No one will fix it. So we'll have to replace it again. So, it's kind of in their best interest. But no one ever called me back to explain. If it's a few thousand dollars out of pocket, and they're gonna pay for a percentage of it, or however it works, whatever the details are, I wanted to know. We'll keep renewing the home warranty, so when it does break next time, it could be in January and it could be 10 years from now, and they'll have to replace it again.

    My claim with the air conditioning went really well. American Home Shield was really prompt and got everything done and got us the loan so we can pay it out with no interest. I usually try to submit everything online. The only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't have everything that could go wrong. But my AC issue was more generic, which was good. You could just put air conditioning, you didn't have to be so specific. Some of those like on the plumbing needs to know the specific issue. The last thing I did was the plumbing. We called. It really didn't have a good category, so I just had to pick leak.

    The contractors sent by American Home Shield were really professional and really good. The AC has been good since the repair. I probably need to call them back out. It seems loud to me. So, I don't now if something is shaken loose or what, but I would like to call them back about that. Also, with a purchase, they gave us 10 years where they come out and service the machine and check out the air conditioner.

    I was very pleased with my first repair request. We submitted the claim online through the American Home Shield dashboard and it was very easy. The contractors were also on time and very professional. It was great service. On another experience I'm working on right now though, the experience has been terrible. We've been without a refrigerator since August 4th and the parts did not get ordered in time until I followed up five times. I finally found out that the parts were never ordered until last week. I called today and parts are still on order. They said it would be another five to seven days at least. American Home Shield is saying it was with the contractor, and the contractor says it was American Home Shield. I don’t know who to believe.

    There was no follow up or follow through on the refrigerator repair on either American Home Shield or the contractor. If I didn’t call last week, I still wouldn’t hear from them and they still wouldn’t have the parts on order because I forced them to do something, threatening them with a bad review on every social media out there. At the moment, I would not offer them up to my worst enemy. It's hard to deal without a refrigerator, so thank goodness we have another one in the garage or we would have had to buy one.

    I've had AHS for a long time. Sometimes, I have some mishaps in the billing. My payments are sometimes late because I'm on disability.     We've had the same problem every year for five years and it seemed like every year, we're constantly recharging the AC and it always has a leak, and it's annoying. There's a leak, and all they do is they keep putting Band-Aids on it. They just tell us it's low on refrigerant. And then, we ended up having to call them at least once or twice a year. American Home Shield won't pay to find the leak. It's cheaper for them to just have us do the refrigerant, but not for me.

    We also had an issue with the hot water heater. We had to call the guy out like three times, but that was within the 90 days and they were able to fix it. It still breaks, but the technician told us how to reset it. And now, my wife just goes up there and resets it. It lasts for a month and a half, and then she has to go up there and reset it.

    Our microwave had some moisture getting into it which shorted out the keypad. We submitted a claim online to American Home Shield. Their contractor called and scheduled but it took them a week to 10 days before they came out. The first time the tech came, he replaced the keypad and the issue happened again. He came out again and found out where the moisture was coming from and fixed that. Now, we're letting the microwave dry out and see if it'll work properly on its own. Thus far, trying to get AHS on the phone has been horrible. Every time I call, it's either 30 or 45 minutes trying to get an operator.

    I would recommend American Home Shield. I have not had any bad experiences with it. Recently, I called them for my air conditioner that had stopped cooling. They sent somebody out here and the person came right on. He was one of the better contractors that I have dealt with. He was very polite. He was very professional and he seemed to know what he was doing. He went right out there and got it fixed. He came back to the door and told me what it was. I signed the bill and he left. I got cool air and that's all you care with this 100-degree weather.

    When we first got started with American Home Shield, I had some issue. I have had two things tear up in like a month or so and I had to pay the co-payment each time. I was not happy about that. But now, I told that young man that was out here the last time and he said if it happens within 90 days or something, I don't have to pay a co-payment again. That's better. I used to pay every time I called American Home Shield and it was a little bit expensive.

    My air conditioner stopped cooling and I submitted a claim for its repair on the American Home Shield app. Doing that was very easy and I was told that their contractor should contact me within 24 to 48 hours. Though the AC would work while their techs from Total Air Care, two hours later, the AC would stop working. They had to come back out three different times and the longest it would take for them to get back was a week. A different technician came each time too and each tech had set it to something different. Total Air Car added freon and replaced the fan motor. Even so, I ended up having to replace the inner breaker. The AC has been working since then.

    The fan of our air conditioner outside unit wasn't spinning, so the house was hot. I went online and submitted a claim to American Home Shield. It was pretty easy and simple to do. Then the contractor called me that night to set up an appointment, and they came out on Thursday, but they were coming from Jacksonville, which is about two hours from us. But they were very nice. They diagnosed the problem, then made sure there wasn't anything else wrong, and replaced the part. Everything has been great.     Our air conditioner was not working. What we would do was to go out and reset it. When you reset it, the fan was having a hard time getting off dead-center. A starter capacitor had gone non-capacitated. We’ve used Trinity Heating forever. We’ve lived in the house for about 20 years, and we’ve used them since we’ve been there. We did not realize we could use American Home Shield to pay for them coming out, so we were stunned, amazed, and chagrined because we didn’t know about it 20 years ago. It was kind of like a win-win for us.

    Where we live in Alabama, it is considered the non-populated part of the state. So the problem we’ve had in the past was finding people to take the job. A water heater went out and we had a plumber guy who came and said he’d be there as soon as he got off his other job. He had a day job, and this was a part-time thing for him. So, finding people who would take American Home Shield is, in my neck of the woods, thin. But now with Trinity, our air-conditioning guy is good. Everything has been taken care of. They came out and fixed it, and then AHS took care of it.

    My recent claim went with American Home Shield went very well. The blower fan wasn’t kicking on so it wasn’t cooling the house. They found out that it was worn and old. It was 30 years old. The temperatures were 116 degrees with high humidity and they solved it within two business days. They replaced it very quickly. American Home Shield didn't give us any kind of nonsense about not kicking it back ‘cause it is wear and tear. It was fixed and it was during the hottest time we have lived out here so I was pleased with it. Prior to this claim, American Home Shield was also on my previous claims for the air conditioner, the hot water heater and some minor plumbing stuff. I’m very pleased with the service.

    The air conditioner didn't work and was creating noise. We submitted a claim on the phone with AHS and their rep was very kind and polite. They sent out a tech from Island Breeze HVAC and he recognized the problem. He told me that he fixed it up and the service was good. The AC's performance has also been good since the repair.

    American Home Shield sent All Hours Emergency Plumbing for the garbage disposal that was leaking. I called AHS and submitted the claim. The first people that came out tried to rip me off. The contractor said he found something in there and AHS wouldn’t cover it, but he would put it in for a certain amount of money. So, I told him to hit the road. In my eyes, he wasn’t going by protocol and he wasn’t trustworthy to me. I called AHS back again, and they sent somebody else out and he repaired it. He said, “It’s shut from just typical wear and tear.” The other guy said he found something in there like a resealable plastic bag and if that hits the garbage disposal, it would disintegrate. He tried to say that bounced around in there and caused holes.

    We’ve had AHS for a number of years. Everything has always been top-shelf business. My experience was great. We’ve had air conditioning problems, and a contractor came out and fixed it. This issue with the garbage disposal, a very polite contractor came out and explained everything, and did the job. He cleaned up, left the house the way it looked, and he rolled.

    I called American Home Shield to submit a claim for the microwave and the rep gave me the number for Whirlpool. I was told they would be out the next day but I never heard from Whirlpool. So, I called them and it turned out fine. When the guy came out, he called me 30 minutes in advance and asked if I was gonna be home, and he was here exactly on time. He was out to my house two times and the first time, he diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts. A couple of days later, he came and installed them. He was very professional, courteous and very knowledgeable at what he did. He was also super nice, friendly and awesome. It was a good experience.

    I purchased my new home on one July 2019. I noticed the refrigerator was not getting very cold. I made a service request on 3 July 2019. I am still waiting for the completion of my refrigerator being serviced seven weeks later. I have called over a half a dozen times only to not understand the representative, to be placed on hold (one time for over an hour) by a service technician that identified herself as Nan. I am constantly refused when I asked to speak with a supervisor that or I’m placed on hold and eventually hung up on. Or all of a sudden they don’t understand my English. I have been told my service request is in queue, to contact them back in 24 to 48 hours. Guest what happens in 48 hours - absolutely nothing, “But ma’am it’s still in queue. Someone will contact you within 24 to 48 hours.”

    I made this call on 3 July 2019. Today’s date is 19 August 2019 and the same problem still exists. All brand appliances never came back. They stayed it because American Home Shield never pay them and American Home Shield home I have a contract with his ** to send another service provider to rectify the situation. I even asked for for refund so I can go to another company because $700 for a year is a lot of money to not be serviced at all. Again nothing. I would rather slit my wrist and bleed out than to ever deal with this company again.

    Requested an air conditioner repair on Saturday, August 17th. Happy to say the contractor was able to fit us in on Monday afternoon. Contractor came and found that a fan motor needed to be ordered. After speaking to the associate at the contractor's office that completes the order, we are informed that it will take 3-5 business days to get part in and that they will call and schedule repair once part is received.

    This is the second time this summer they have serviced the same unit. First time we were without air conditioning for 5 days. This time we have already been without for three days and are told that it will possibly take another week to repair. We were also told the first time that if it was above 95 degrees that they could expedite and put in an emergency call, but at that time it was upper 80’s. This time I call and tell them that the heat index is 97 degrees so I would like my part expedited so that it could be fixed as quickly as possible. I was told that the policy is now that it has to be 105 degrees or higher and that they can not expedite the part.

    After speaking to the associate and the supervisor that I waited for 45 minutes to talk to, I was told that the wouldn’t expedite the part and that if I wasn’t going to listen to her she was going to end the call. She promptly hung up on me. I was upset and extremely frustrated. Couldn’t find an area on their site on which to register a complaint. I was on the phone for an hour and twenty minutes only to be told they would not follow what I was told previously by one of their associates. I am extremely unhappy with the service I experienced today.

    My AC compressor went out and was diagnosed in about 5 min. They took 3 days to begin the process (which didn't begin until I called) then another day to order the part. Then they said it would be another 3-4 days to receive it and make an appointment to install. I've had to stay at a hotel and they still cannot give me a date to get it fixed. It's summer..you'd think they'd put a rush on the part! Seems like they're dragging their feet...on top of that I have to pay out of pocket $500 for the Freon because they only cover $10.

    In July my air conditioner needed serviced. AHS could not find a repair company to come out so they authorized us to find our own technician and they would reimburse us. It took us many calls to find a technician because apparently AHS is horrible to work with and AC companies don't want to deal with their nonsense. We eventually found a company to help. I have been trying to get the reimbursement paid since July 15, calling AHS 1-2 times per week. Each time a rep tells me "we don't have your paperwork", I resubmit it, they confirm receipt & say the bill will be paid. I call back to follow up & they tell me "we don't have your paperwork". I resubmit it. They confirm receipt & say it will be paid. And this goes on over & over & over. This has been going on for weeks - it's truly ridiculous. I repeated these steps again today for the 6-7 time. I'm guessing I'll never see this money. BUYER BEWARE.

    In May, I had issues with my central AC. Called and scheduled for a repair. Paid fee and it took 3 weeks for the company to come out. AHS could NOT find anyone else to do it and just ask that I wait. This is in over 90 degrees weather as well. AC tech comes out, can't diagnose and leaves saying someone else will come. I called to find out when and was told I need to do another request for service due to AHS policy! Called AHS and they "processed" my request as if this was normal even after I explained what happened. SAME tech came and said, “Oh okay we will replace a part.” He replaced it. Still have issues. Called again. Sent SAME tech. (No one else is available.) Replaced something else. 5th time, we are now in late July and still not fixed. Tech states he tried everything and will have to replace. Another 3 weeks go by and today finally a person comes out. Was told it would be $3000 for installation costs to replace only the inside unit.

    Could not tell me why it was so much and blamed AHS for not covering anything. Called AHS and was on hold for over 2 hours and no one could tell me why there was $3000 of uncovered charges. Spoke with 4 people each stating they will "escalate" my call. Finally said they will email a "department" to call me within 48 hours. Meanwhile, I called 3 local companies and all quoted $4000 and under for a complete system with installation for inside AND outside. I am in disbelief how shoddy AHS has gotten. I have had them for over 6 years and used them once 2 years ago for a minor kitchen repair satisfactorily. This is unacceptable.

    Cannot speak to anyone in the US. Called for service on 8/8, someone came out 8/9 said I needed a coil. As of 8/19 AHS claims they have not received any info. Each time I call AHS I am told they would follow up and call me back. Still no call backs.

    In my opinion AHS should check the background and credentials for some of their CONTRACTORS to ensure that customers are getting the very best experience possible that's met with a certain amount of professionalism. One of the CONTRACTOR in question is AARON'S PLUMBING, HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING. This establishment is not good for your brand and lacks the basic necessities of being a good company such as quality work and being responsive to your customer base. The one other thing I will say is if I have another PLUMBING issue and this company is all you can provide I will discontinue your services.

    American Home Shield Home Warranty review. I've been trying to get my a/c condenser/coil repaired for over 11 weeks. The temperature has been in the high 90's with a heat index well over 100 degrees. My family and I have been suffering and overwhelmed by the heat. American Home Shield and the service contractors have shown little or no sympathy and compassion when it comes to getting my a/c up running and cooling. Two different service contractors have been out with no success in fixing the problem. Each contractor has replaced parts costing me nearly $1000 in uncovered costs. Yet still, my unit is inoperable.

    The contractors are not taking the responsibility and are blaming the other. One also tried to contribute the cause of the malfunctioning on other parts not directly related to the problem without fixing the problem itself. Sounds pretty much like the auto repair shop technique which tries to get you to buy into other repairs out of pocket. Once again I'm scheduled for another service visit making this 11 weeks and counting since notifying AHS. AHS and the contractors aren't the bit concerned about how long my family has been suffering. I've repeatedly asked AHS and the contractors if they can prioritize my appointment since I've been out a/c for so long. Neither has shown compassion or concern by suggesting that their schedules are full. My question to them was, "who on that schedule has been without air conditioning for over 60 days"? I'm totally disappointed with AHS and the contractors that were sent out.

    I need AHS to stop sending contractors out that are contradicting the other. Most of all I need AHS to APPROVE replacing the air handler unit and stop playing games. My family deserves better treatment from a home warranty company that proclaims to be one of the best in the industry. Prove it!!! Get me some air conditioning NOW! This will be 12 weeks or more and counting that I have been without air conditioning. Why is it so difficult to express next day order the part and prioritize my repair schedule. This is not the level of service I expected from a highly rated warranty company and their contractors.

    Now I’m in the waiting stages again. The Contractual relations department received a second opinion for the 3rd contractor and has been given me the runaround because they haven’t made a decision to repair or replace my air handler. The second opinion contractor is the 3rd contractor sent out to my home. The 3rd contractor agreed with the 2nd contractor stating that my unit was damaged by the 1st contractor. The 1st contractor pleaded innocent and created a diagnosis that would get them off the hook for making the repairs. But I have 2 contractors standing by their diagnosis. They are totally in agreement that the air handler needs to be replaced. AHS, we’re literally suffering trying to live in a hot house. Many of our days are spent by relatives to get some kind of relief and comfort. Totally Disappointed, H. ** Louisiana.

    I made the mistake of signing up after reading all the bad reviews, only because I had them before and they had been a good co. My hot water heater went out and a plumber responded. The hot water heater and service was supposed to be fully covered and per the contract it was supposed to be replaced by the same size. I was told by the company that the fee was going to be over $600 plus the $125 service fee and that was for a 55 gal. tank. My tank was an 80 gal. They said that the extra fees were because they had to fit the new pipes on the tank, which they did with flex piping which was actually easier than using copper. After repeated calls to AHS I was told that I would receive a check for $249 for the difference in tank size but I would have to pay the fee to the plumber if I wanted the tank installed.

    I agreed, because I had been without hot water for 5 days, even though they were giving half the difference of what an 80 gal. tank cost and the plumber was charging me just as much as a quote I had received by an outside plumber. After not receiving the check for a month. I called back and was told that I would not receive a check because the work was done. When I said that I wanted to cancel she said that I would have to be transferred and I was put on hold for a couple minutes and then hung up on, this happened twice. I made the mistake of not listening to the reviews and I'm only writing this to hopefully help others to not make the same mistake.

    Currently, I have two separate policies with American Home Shield. In the beginning, navigating their website was a bit complicated as not both of the policies were accessible online. Now it's fine. Previously, I filed a claim with American Home Shield for my AC unit and I really liked the air conditioner guy they sent. The AC has been working fine since then. More recently, I have one claim filed to American Home Shield for a stovetop that needed to be repaired and a washing machine that is being replaced. For that claim, I had to pay one deductible. With the appliance people however, I tend to have to call them and follow up. Still, they did a fine job.

    Appliance Professionals came out to service our refrigerator. We had a very loud noise coming from it that was persistent. It was on and off. It would kinda calm down for maybe a split-second and be noisy right back up. I did the claim on a Sunday and Appliance Professionals contacted us on Monday. They were very expedient when they contacted us back. They were very professional too. They were on-time, prompt and courteous. They evaluated our refrigerator and said the issue was secondary to probably the compressor starting to fail. They gave an estimate of what they thought the amount was gonna be to fix that. They contacted American Home Shield back and told us that it was gonna be up to American Home Shield, whether or not American Home Shield would replace, or whether or not American Home Shield would choose to fix it.

    American Home Shield opted to replace the refrigerator but it took a little while. I ended up calling back in at some point to kind of clarify that. They asked the exact dimensions of the refrigerator and the model number. They calculated and gave us a quote for an estimate of either cash payout or a model that they felt would be a good one. It was an outstanding experience and I’d absolutely recommend American Home Shield.

    K & J Mechanical came out for the AC and they did an awesome job. I submitted my claim with American Home Shield via phone. The contractor came out and they discovered that the switch up in the condenser had gone bad. It worked for a little bit and then it went out again so I called and they came back out within a nice time frame. The screws had come loose so they just put in new screws, and everything was good.

    I called American Home Shield and told them what was going on. I had two issues at the time, one was for an outlet that was not working and the other was for some water leak which I initially thought was coming from the tub. But it turned out to be from the AC and when the water stopped leaking, I had to call and cancel that claim. And AHS refunded me my deductible. They did a really good job and I appreciate that.

    Their claims process was very easy and you don’t have to go back and forth. It's just a one-time call and AHS takes care of it. For my other claim, the contractors came within a day and fixed the issue. They were very good as well. I directed them to the issue and they went over all the outlets I have in the house. So, it was not like they just did whatever was out. They checked everything, made sure everything was working before they left, and they left their phone numbers and told me to call them if there was any other issue as far as the outlet was concerned.

    S.A.P. Home Repairs Services came out for my toilet, and they did a fine job. It’s just that we have to replace the toilet. So, I was gonna call American Home Shield today to make sure I knew what that was because I have a leak and I need that toilet replaced quickly. I know that I can submit claims with American Home Shield online, but I’ve been calling to set stuff up. I'll go through about four levels of the IVR, and then I usually get a rep. The representatives are always super cool, really personable, take their time, patient, and they’ll listen. You can tell they’re actively listening, and I get to know the person well enough to know their name, and I feel like I’m important. So far, all the contractors I’ve called have been really good. If anybody else I knew was buying a home or thinking about American Home Shield, I would definitely urge them to get a coverage.

    Our air went out on a Friday night. The fan worked, and I tried to re-cycle it. I went out to the breaker. I did everything I know but we had no idea what the problem was. I got out the warranty and I called. It took an hour and a half to get anybody to answer. It was Friday night and I called back on Saturday. We were going through a real good heat wave out there. While I was on the phone, the guy was very nice and said, “Let me try to find somebody. Bear with me, I’m on number three.” Then he said, “Okay, I found him. They will either call you. Here’s their number.” I was relieved. The guy from Orangutan Home Services came out at 5 o’clock on a Saturday. I was starting to get nervous but he showed up. He went up on the roof and said it was my compressor. He gave me the amount for the Freon. There was a $10 credit which was nothing ‘cause Freon’s expensive.

    He said, “Well, you probably won’t hear anything till Monday.” So on Monday, I got on the phone and I did get a call. We got another call and another issue, and the rep said she located the part. Earlier in the day with Orangutan, they had no idea. They said, “You know what, we have to go with what they say. They’ll tell us where to pick up the part.”

    I was told that they were told that the estimated completion date of the job was August 12th. We’re 77 years old and it was 110 degrees outside. I said that was ridiculous and they said they were expediting it. The first customer service person said to call them back Thursday so that was three more days. My wife said I was too nice to that guy. So, I called back, and I got a really helpful guy. He said, “Listen, let me check everything out. Do me a favor, give the parts people till tomorrow morning,” which I did. We were sleeping in front of fans. As it turns out, at that point, Orangutan said American Home Shield gave them authorization. They called back and scheduled us for 11:00 to 3:00 on Wednesday. The guy came out and did a great job.

    In looking back, American Home Shield came through although along the way, it was a little dicey like always with warranty. But only because I know how stuff worked and I said to the first guy, “Can I speak to a supervisor?” He said I was just gonna be wasting my time and that he could help as much as them but he wasn’t as helpful. With the second customer service person, I’ve learned it’s the luck of the draw when you talk to customer service with anything so it turned out, realistically, okay. And the guy was happy with the unit. It’s a Rheem unit and he put in an LG compressor. The good thing is he said there’s a ratio between incoming and outgoing air. He said, “You’re a 24, and the minimum is like 20. But 24 is excellent.” What it’s telling me is that the unit is working well.

    We initially had a regular check with the air conditioning unit. The claim was submitted over the phone and the representatives we spoke to were cooperative. The contractor came out and checked it. They said everything was fine and they left. About a week later, the air conditioning unit went off and we had to submit a whole new claim. The second guy came out and got the unit back and working. Then the air conditioning unit started to have a water leak in the ceiling and it messed up all the floors which have not been repaired. We called back and the third guy came out then and called in the problem. It got clogged up. He said that the first who came should’ve caught that. We suspect that the first guy just did a routine check, he didn't do a very thorough one and that had caused the problem. The third guy got some equipment and fixed it. It’s been working fine ever since then.

    However, the damage that the leakage caused has not been done and American Home Shield knew that it happened. We had to get our insurance but we don’t if it's gonna be enough to cover all of the damages. Overall, American Home Shield was good up to that point. We don’t know how thorough they were with the company that they sent out, but they got someone out on time they said they would.

    Before we moved, my fiancée used American Home Shield in Biloxi and she had really good experiences there. The house came with some other different warranty company. We called them once and they were pretty terrible so when the time came to renew, we actually swapped back to American Home Shield again. And we never go with anybody else. American Home Shield is perfect. We had a problem with a pool pump and they sent someone to come out the same day within a few hours. It was really nice.     Whatever problems we had, AHS solved them. When we were in the process of selling our house and the problem with our garage door came up in the process of looking at the house.     The outside unit of the HVAC would work intermittently. There was like a conductor so when the AC itself turns on, you hear it kinda clicks on. This conductor completes the circuit, and that’s when the outside fan turns on and blows the cold air inside. This conductor thing wasn’t always completing the circuit so sometimes, it would run and it would stop. Then I’d have to go outside and hit the machine or actually open it up and hit the conductor so it would contact the other nodes so the nodes would be in contact.

    I called American Home Shield this time to make sure that they didn’t send Cool Factory out ‘cause I didn’t want them coming back to my house. They came out a few times and they were garbage. The guy from NOVA, Jorge, came out and he was great. It was actually working and I explained it to him. He opened up my machine, started messing with it, and he kind of tapped that conductor and it shut off like it shouldn’t have. And he said, “Yeah, that’s the problem.” The experience with NOVA was good. Jorge was able to diagnose the issue the first time. He understood that he didn’t have the correct part. He went and ordered the part then he came back out in like two business days and fixed it. That was a fantastic turnaround.

    When technicians come out, you want them to know what they’re doing. And Jorge clearly knew what he was doing. There's a big difference between NOVA and Cool Factory. My AC unit was running even though I had been experiencing issues. I explained what was going on and he took the time to try to figure out what I was telling him. My AC was always working intermittently and every time Cool Factory came out and if my AC was running at the time, regardless of how much I would explain to them, they’d say, “Well, it’s working now. You gotta call us back when it’s broken.” So, I was actually scheduling for them to come out hoping that my AC would not work when they showed up. With NOVA, their professionalism was fantastic. The expertise of their technician was fantastic, and they diagnosed my problem and fixed it. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

    I have American Home Shield covering my rental property and the air conditioning unit went out there. It was just a simple switch that went out and the contractor came out to fix that so that was good. Recently, Clovis Heating and Cooling went through my air conditioner. It is old so nothing was changed. A week after they came out, it finally gave out. The only problem was that they were gonna charge me $1,200 for Freon because they had to replace the system and didn't cover Freon. I wasn't gonna waste money on taking a chance on it going back out again just because they replaced the part. So, I just went ahead and bought a brand new air conditioning unit outright and I didn't go through them. It cost me almost $4,000.

    The whole reason I got American Home Shield was I knew the air conditioner was probably gonna go out this summer, but I still ended up having to pay for it myself. I guess the way it works is the unit has to be completely dead. They'll keep refixing parts until it finally dies. If they would have paid for the Freon, I would have been okay, but they did not. I don't know if American Home Shield is worth it or not anymore. I'm debating on keeping them or not.

    The online claims process with American Home Shield was a good one and it was very smooth. However, AHS kept on using the same plumbing company. It was a horrible experience. The first plumber that came out always came up with extra charges that were unnecessary. I had no choice but to pay them since they’ve already gone out to the home. It’s always like that and I have different coworkers too to whom I’ve recommended American Home Shield, and it’s the same thing with the same company. AHS sent the company to me again and before they went to my home, I called AHS and made sure that they gave me somebody else. The recent claim was great and I would recommend AHS.     I have two claims I submitted and they're both similar. My AC was running hot downstairs, and I had already paid for someone to come out and work on it, but they were unable to work on it. I then called American Home Shield and said, "Hey, guys, maybe y'all have better luck." They went to their process on trying to fix it. And through that, they were very slow in fixing the problem. I requested an outside contractor, which I was granted. They came out, they assessed the situation, then, American Home Shield didn't believe them, so they sent out someone else. With the third person that came out and serviced it, it was the same thing. So, they went ahead and ordered a replacement condenser and coil. I was supposed to have landed at the contractors today to get installed, but he won't return my phone calls.

    I'm being told that he is taking a four-day vacation before he installs it, which is a problem because during this process, my other AC unit also went out. I have someone come out to evaluate it and try to get it working. They did that, and then, it has been blowing hot and cold intermittently. And so, my wife opened another claim on that unit as well because it just seems to be working half the time. I've called them but it goes to voicemail. My wife has called them and he'd take her calls sometimes. The equipment was ordered by American Home Shield back on 8/13 and that was a over two weeks ago.

    We then called American Home Shield saying, "Hey, our guy is supposed to be on vacation. He's not gonna install our unit. We need someone else that can do it. I don't care who you pick but pick someone else." They said they couldn't do that as he was already contracted to do the job, and that the equipment had already been assigned to him. Yesterday, my wife was on hold for 45 minutes, yelling at them to get a manager, and we never get in contact with a supervisor. I live in South Texas and it was 110 degrees heat index yesterday. My wife and my three-year-old had spent the last week and a half with my in-laws in Corpus Christi, which has been an hour and a half away from where I work. We are still waiting.

    My most recent claim was for my washing machine wherein the actual drumhead detached itself and it would've cost more to repair it than to replace it. I processed it online and it was very easy. The contractor already knew what was wrong with it, and we told him the noise it was making. We told him that we thought the drum had detached itself ‘cause it was making all kinds of noise and leaking water, and what we told him was correct. He diagnosed it and let us know that he would submit it in. However, my air conditioner started leaking for the same thing that American Home Shield was supposed to have fixed a year ago, and I ended up having to pay another $75.     I had set the oven to do a self-cleaning for three hours, and when two hours were up, and F9 error code popped up. I looked at that online and it said it was a problem with the locking process. It stayed locked for the cycle for another hour, and then it unlocked. Unfortunately, because it was so hot and I did it late at night, I had to stay up that whole time because I didn’t know if it was gonna go for 12 hours at over 550 degrees. The guy sent by American Home Shield came out and replaced the locking mechanism itself. He couldn't stay there to monitor it, so that night, I did another three-hour cleaning. It went two hours, went F9, then it started beeping. It didn’t beep the first time.

    The guy came back out and inspected the wires, and then realized it was the control panel. He ordered the part, which can be in on Monday and they’re gonna be out Tuesday to fix it. He was very professional and courteous. While he was there, we talked about other appliances and he was a very knowledgeable guy. It was an excellent experience, not only with LA Appliance but the website for American Home shield to report a problem. Because the oven wasn't fixed, I went back online and it gave the option to say, “It’s not fixed,” get immediate response and have the vendor calling. It’s been a very reputable and easy-to-use website. I’m very happy with American Home Shield.

    After waiting over two months for them to address my issue and also having to wait numerous hours on hold just to be disconnected, also the contractor assigned to me (RX ELECTRONICS) worse company ever, I had to threaten to cancel my account with them to help me and they finally gave me another contractor that in only one visit fixed my issue. I didn't like the fact after seen how many times I was being rescheduled by RX ELECTRONICS giving me excuses for their irresponsibility American Home Shield insisted in staying with same contractor.     The air conditioner fan blade broke and I called it in. American Home Shield's reps were perfect. They told me it would take two to four days for a contractor to come out. And then, I called back at four days and they said there would be another couple of days, and then it took two weeks. So, it was really not good. My brother-in-law said, “Those motors only cost $40. Why don’t you just put a new motor on?” It’s about $20 to ship in the blade. I don’t understand why they didn’t just put a new motor in. But maybe my brother-in-law was just mistaken about the $40. But they fixed it. Everything is working fine now. It was a 90 degree heat and the repair took longer. So, it was a little tough, but we survived. American Home Shield is doing great.

My claim was filed immediately, and within 24 hours I had already an appointment set up. The person who came in was very customer service-oriented and he had very good knowledge and experience.     American Home Shield is very helpful we're satisfied with them. We call them when we have claims and speak with a live person. So far, we've had no problems with anyone. When we had multiple claims at once, R&S Home Maintenance was sent out to fix our microwave, washer, dryer, and refrigerator. They thought they fixed it all. But the microwave and the washer went back out. R&S came and checked that. They had to order parts for the washer. As for the microwave, we're going to get a brand new one because they can't come up with a part anymore. In less than a week, the dryer went back out. It took R&S days to look at it. Now, they have to order parts for the dryer.

    I have two accounts with American Home Shield and I had two issues two weeks apart. One of the accounts is for a rental property I have and there, the air conditioner stopped working. I couldn't get anybody out 'til the next day. It was a really hot day, and I was hoping we can get somebody out earlier or the same day, just because I had renters there who were not very happy.     At my own house, I started getting backups from the main drain in our lower level which is our furnace room. The drains were coming back up and water was coming back up also through the downstairs shower drain. It was starting to flood. I submitted a claim for that issue online to American Home Shield and found their process pretty easy. The techs from D2 plumbing was out by the next day. They were great and found that the issue was a bad ejector pump. They replaced that, and I haven't had a problem since. I recommend AHS all the time.

    If you know how to use computers, it’s easy to navigate the website when filing a claim. I submitted one online late one night, and by 9 the next morning, I had a call and a service technician.     We were having some trouble with the lights in the house. The bathroom went out a couple of times and then there were times when the entire house would go down just for a second, then come back, and five minutes later, the same thing would happen. But it was localized into our house. It wasn’t a neighborhood problem. The contractor called the next day after submitting the claim and scheduled an appointment for three days later. One gentleman came and he answered all our questions. I was concerned about the fire hazard stuff and I asked him to test some of the outlets in the house. He walked around and tested as many as he could see that weren’t covered by furniture and he schooled us a little bit about how it works with the main button that is pushed to reset. It’s like the central hub. Everything worked correctly and we haven’t had any trouble since that day.

    We also had some plumbing situation and a different contractor came out for that last week. We had an exterminator out and he did an inspection underneath the house and he said that we had two leaks in the bathroom so we called American Home Shield to schedule an appointment and the plumber came out. He figured out that it wasn’t really even a leak. It was just that the bathtub faucet needed caulking around it so the water was leaking through there. He was here for about an hour and a half or so while he was testing everything. Everything went fine with that too.

Initially, American Home Shield wanted to send another company, and it was super hot, but I looked at the company that they were gonna send online and they had horrible reviews.     My refrigerator was stopped up really bad and I didn't know how to fix it. I called American Home Shield and the claims rep that I filed the claim through was awesome. I did speak to someone a few weeks prior to that and they did not give me any good information at all that's why I had to call back about two weeks later. I called on a Thursday or Friday, and the technician was there that Monday. He fixed it for me and it took him maybe about 30 minutes. He told me that something was stopped up in the freezer and it wasn't allowing the freezer to drain properly. The freezer has been perfect since the repair.

    American Home Shield has been very helpful to us. The guy that they sent out for our plumbing claim was very knowledgeable. We had a slow water flow issue, and he walked me around and showed me what the issues were. He explained how I could fix it myself going forward. So he wasn’t afraid to talk to me about that and point out what was causing the slow water flow. He was very open and honest. It a was really good experience.

    Submitting the claim has been easy. I sometimes do it over the phone since it is easier to describe what is happening. I encountered an issue with our oven claim a while ago. We have a wall oven and it could not be fixed after the technician came. They told me that the part was no longer in-stock. So it was recommended that we take the door off, take the hinges off, and then it could be repaired. But it would take 10 weeks to see if American Home Shield could find a replacement for it. If they couldn’t, then we get a $150 credit towards the oven. We were a little upset with that because it would only be $150 even though it is a $3,000 unit. We managed to get through that, and it was the only hiccup that we had.

    BW Air & Heat was sent by American Home Shield for our outside unit. We were very pleased with how quickly somebody did come out especially in this heat. They had to replace something that had to do with the fan. I did the claim on the phone, and BW came out the next day. It was really quick. They fixed it that same day, too. My husband stayed out there with the tech, watched him, and he was very satisfied with the work.

    I got something in the mail the other day for the new contract and as of right now, I'm gonna go ahead and continue with American Home Shield.     I put in the claim because of my washing machine and I did it on the phone. The claims rep was good. It’s just that we have such a long hold time and I don’t like that. I’ve even been on hold for 45 minutes, which is ridiculous. People are busy. American Home Shield needs to do better with the hold time. Just hire more people. When the repair guy came out, he said the washing machine needed to be replaced. American Home Shield said I would have to pay for it and then send the receipt in.     We called in a problem with our refrigerator on 8/1/2019, a tech came to our home to look at the refrigerator on 8/7/2019 and gave us the following options: (1) have the refrigerator replaced (2) have the parts ordered for this older refrigerator which would basically rebuild it (non-energy saving). On Friday, 8/9 I checked online, the service request is in authorization review. Today, I called to ask what was delaying the repair or replacement, the representative told me they needed to call the contractor to verify the parts that needed to be ordered, AHS informed me that they would make the determination.

    My question to AHS, is why are you calling today? If I wouldn't have called, my service request would still be waiting for AHS to call the contractor to order the parts or work with AHS to identify a replacement. To make things worse, the AHS representative asks me to call AHS back on Monday so they can call the contractor. I said, why do you need me on this call, you already mentioned that AHS would be making the decision... We don't care, we just want our refrigerator replaced or fixed! The response was, "OK, we will call you on Monday, may we have your phone number.. information that is on my contract, profile and provided when you call in.... This is TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!

    I recently signed up for Home Warranty service with AHS and was disappointed with their service and ultimately cancelled my account after my first incident and claim with them. We had a pipe burst in our basement that was flooding water on a Saturday night. After calling AHS they said they'd get a tech to call me back that night for emergency service. I never got a call and finally got through to the plumber AHS lined up on Monday morning. I was able to get my own plumber to come out Saturday night to address the issue. AHS still charged me the $100 fee and wouldn't reimburse me for the $300 I spent on my plumber because I didn't go through the proper process. I've had much better luck with other Home Warranty services. I could not recommend American Home Shield to anyone.

    I scheduled to request service for my A/C unit on a Saturday. I knew something was wrong with my A/C unit by the sound it was now making. I have had many different things replaced on my A/C unit before thru the American Home Shield warranty company. Most recent was the Compressor within 2 years, and other items prior to that such as the capacitor, contractor, coil, drip pan.

    When the technician came out on Wednesday, his diagnoses was compressor is going out. I questioned him as, "Are you sure it's not a bearing or something on the fan unit? I had the similar noise before and that was the repair." He said no, his tests show that low voltage or draw from the compressor is showing it's going to fail. I told him that the compressor was just changed less than two years ago and that it seems funny that my original compressor lasted 17 years and the new one installed 2 years ago is going out. He said that your warranty company (American Home Shield) is not going to have us fix it until it is no longer working. His wording on the paperwork says "Compressor is making a lot of noise due to the compressor valve air going out making compressor pull amps but still working hard/will submit to Home warranty if they want to do anything." "Compressor on way out soon but don't know when".

    My wife has medical problems and does not do well in the heat. It has been over 110 degrees lately here in AZ where we live. I don't want to wait for a complete breakdown and then have to wait for the American Home Shield warranty to schedule someone again to come out. We then will have to wait for another diagnosis and then for the American Home Shield Warranty Company to order the part and wait to be scheduled for the repair.

    This same thing happened to me before and it was about a week and 1/2 process to finally get it fixed. If there is a problem and they know it, why isn't the corrective action taken before a complete breakdown? Why am I getting charged the call out fee for nothing that was done? This is like you running over a nail and your tire pressure is going down because your car tells you that you have low pressure but the company tells you to just add air until it blows. This isn't right. Robert

    I have been a customer for almost 8 years. American Home Shield doesn't care about your issue. I've called several times to address my plumbing issue and every time they send the worst company in town it takes them days to get to you. Last time they sent a plumber who was at least 70 and could climb under the house and then he says, "I can't work in water" and we had to go 3 weeks with no water. The plumber was out less than a month ago and I wake up this morning to water spuing everywhere.

    Oh and less than a year ago AHS made me pay $491 for the Water heater. I call today and they start with their crap you'll have to contact the company where my heater came from. No help. Just a bunch of yadda yadda yadda. They really don't care. I would recommend anyone use American Home Shield. Their contractors are awful. You'd be better off going to HomeAdvisor and hiring your own reputable professional and cut out AHS all together. Awful customer support.

    I called American Home Shield for a microwave that would not heat up. The technician was here to change out the electrode which was what was causing the microwave not to heat but he couldn't find that model anymore because it was old so he had to replace the whole microwave.     Austin Heating and Air came out and they fixed the problem. It was some fuse. He switched it out for another one. He was good.
