    The service guy from ARRQ Appliance Services was great. He did a very good job. He's very thorough, cleaned out parts of the dishwasher, and really went above and beyond. Also, he correctly diagnosed what was wrong with our machine. We have had multiple service calls prior to this guy coming. We've been with American Home Shield for 20 years. We’ve been, for the most part, satisfied with the program. We submit claims over the phone, and their representatives do a good job.

    Because of the Sears bankruptcy, they wouldn't cover certain things, so we changed from Sears Services to American Home Shield. AHS does things a little differently than they did, but so far, we're happy with that. We needed to have maintenance on our heating system in our house and there was a deal where it was offered for 75 bucks. We were waiting for that deal, so we requested it online and it was very easy. AHS called back, set us up with a nearby contractor and they called us. We set up an appointment and had the service done. He came on time, and they let us know when he was on his way. He showed us everything he was doing and I was surprised at how thorough he was. He was the best guy we've ever had.

    I have been an advocate for American Home Shield for years. We’ve had their service in our home since we’ve lived here, which is almost going on 21 years. We’ve been off and on because we’ve tried other services and have not been happy with them in the past and have always come back. I’m a marketing agency and whenever I see people asking about home warranty companies, I have been the first one to promote AHS. And I will no longer do that. Their level of service has gone so far downhill, I can’t even believe it. I had a horrible experience.

    The rack of the dishwasher was bad. AHS sent out a new rack, and it was so high up, it had come out with a new rack for it, and glasses couldn’t even fit in there. It was ridiculous and it didn’t wash. It was just a terrible dishwasher. AHS was gonna replace it with the same one again and I said that I would like to try another one even if I have to pay an upcharge for it. They said that I should look for what I want and find something within the same price range. But if not, they’d let me know how much more it would be. They also told me to call them back when I'd find one. I said that I picked out one already but I didn't have it with me at that time as I was in a meeting. I told them that I'd call in the afternoon.

    When I called back, the person I spoke to said that they don’t do that anymore and that I have to speak to a special department that they have just for GE now, and they’re the only ones doing that. So, I called and spoke to this department, and the lady informed me the same thing and that I could take or leave with the one that they all offered. I explained to her why I didn’t wanna do that. I went round and round on the phone and I asked her if I could escalate it to a supervisor. At first, she said that she didn’t have a supervisor that I could talk to. I told her that I could hold for a while. She said that she'll have someone call me back in three to five business days. I told her that I’d really like to talk to somebody sooner than that as my option time frame was coming to an end. I couldn’t wait that long. Then she said, “No one is going to call you back ever. This is your option. You can take it or leave it.” That is inexcusable customer service.

    I asked for the number of the corporate headquarters and she said that she doesn’t even know where they’re located and that the headquarters doesn't give their number. And so I went online, looked it up, and I got a phone number. But when I called there, they just route me back into customer service when they transferred my call. It did me absolutely no good. After dealing with this for about five days, I ended up just placing my complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I felt like there was no other option that I had because no one was listening.

    In the meantime, I had called back and gotten a regular department that normally handles the swap-outs of stuff. However, I had spoken to somebody else who said that I should be able to do what the first person had said where I could swap my dishwasher out. But this other person’s telling me the GE department has this new policy that went into effect on August 9th, which happened to be the same day that I filed this claim with her.

    So, going round and round, wrote the letter to Better Business Bureau, someone responded. They were definitely misguided on what the process was despite my long thing that I had written. Then, I received an email with various options and I just had to pick one. It also said that there was no phone number I could call. So I picked one and it was within the free range. It was fine, I’ve gotten it, and all’s well with the world again. I feel like 20 years of good service certainly outweigh one bad experience. But the bad experience was so bad and it didn’t need to be like that. It caused a ridiculous amount of stress because it went on for weeks. It was one particular employee who treated me that way and that one person left a really bad taste in my mouth. That person is definitely misinformed of how the situation happened.

    My kitchen light was not working, for some reason. Also, there were socket problems and I had other electrical problems in the house. Over a period of time, the wire stuff messes up and it causes to not to be able to use the lights. It’s not wired correctly. I filed a claim with American Home Shield through a service representative who did her thing. She answered everything and got Electrical Service Professionals out here promptly who understood what I needed, told me what the problem was and fixed it very quickly. They were awesome. I had other cases where I had different stuff fixed and AHS was still awesome with me. I really appreciate the service, and as long as they don’t go up on the prices, that’s all I want. They’re doing better.

    We bought a new house and we noticed when we ran the AC upstairs, it wasn’t keeping up. I thought it was low on gas. The contractors that Home Shield sent out took care of the problem the same day, and knock on wood, everything is working fine.

    Darika, a Social Media Specialist for American Home Shield contacted me. She asked me to send her the reimbursement paperwork to her and she would resubmit it to AHS (making this the 3rd time it was sent). I did that and she followed up with emails to me on the status. After another 2 weeks I received the reimbursement check. Darika was critical in getting the money owed me, and I thank her very much. My overall experience with AHS was still poor. AHS gets 2 stars from me now.

    In mid July 2019 my central air conditioning stopped working. Because they have no A/C service contractor near me, I was authorized by AHS to find & pay the contractor myself. As instructed I sent a reimbursement form and copy of the paid invoice to AHS over 2 months ago and have received no reimbursement. I have called AHS several times and get a "we will look into it" response each time. I am also out the "trade service fee" that AHS charged me on the day I called them for service.

    First called on 8/21/19 for dishwasher repair, after paying on my policy for over one year. Complete run-around. 2 repair people came out, both unable to repair, and dishwasher still not working as of 9/30/19, with no service scheduled as of now. I requested a new unit, since they could not fix it, but as of today, still being stonewalled by off-shore call center. You'll never speak to a US rep, until you try to cancel the policy. Over the last 40 days, I spent over 6 hours on the phone on hold, and 45 minutes today alone. Canceling my policy today, and we'll see how this 40 day open order turns out. BEWARE and LOOK ELSEWHERE if you absolutely need to buy a HW.

    I have been a customer of AHS with two houses for a total of approximately 6 years, starting in 2008, and have usually received fair service. However, in line with many reviews on-line I have sadly now experienced their apparent shift in focus to putting more effort into finding reasons to deny a claim than to honour the warranty they have gladly taken money to provide.

    In May 2019 we call for a fault with one of the motors on an above ground spa and paid the $75 for the technician to inspect; we were told it was the pump (this I knew, it was actually the Aux pump as it was making a screeching noise when turned on, using the button marked "Aux" on the control panel) and that it would be replaced under warranty subject to paying $230 for the spa company to drain the spa and refill.

    At the time I intended to call AHS to dispute the $230 as I saw no reason why draining and refilling a spa would be an out of pocket expense to myself - spas contain water, to work on one surely this is a requirement. With summer, we let the issue drop until the spa stopped working in September, upon which we called AHS, paid another $75 for the same company to come and inspect the spa.

    The second inspection diagnosed the Aux pump, the claim was denied as Aux pumps are not covered. Several phone calls later, with days in between waiting for calls back, and they finally offer to send another technician from a different company to inspect, waive the $75 call out fee and reimburse the $75 for the call out in September, progress.

    A call back 3 days later, and a "higher up authority" has deemed they will do no such thing. They will not cover the Aux pump, claim the may fault was not the Aux pump but was the main pump, but will not honour that claim as they have closed it (the main pump ran without issue until the second call out). So current we appear to have a spa with neither the main or Aux pump working, and AHS has exhausted all options and stated there is no option but to pay close to $1000 for the repairs.

    In my opinion, this is nothing short of AHS avoiding any cost, which considering the spa coverage is an additional cost to the main home warranty is beyond reason. Left with no option or assistance from AHS, I have been left with no option but to wait for a call to arrange a buy out of the warranty. So far, we have paid $150 and been told the solution is then to pay another $1000 to repair an item we naively considered to be protected by the warranty we have been paying for.

    I would highly recommend AHS if you like spending hours on the phone, having to wait for calls back that don't come and then being completely at the mercy of their 'diagnosis reports' and what they tell you they say, without having access to them, despite having paid for the diagnosis yourself.... Absolutely not worth the paper it's printed on.

    Submitted a claim on 9/5 for a washing machine repair, got a response within 24 hours from the contractor. They came out and diagnosed the problem and told he would need to order a couple of parts, but was skeptical the washer could be fixed. I followed up with Home Shield on the 13th and was told the parts would arrive by the 16th and sure enough, the technician came out of the 17th to install the two parts. No surprise, the parts didn't fix the problem, and he told us he would order more parts and again expressed skepticism that the washer is repairable.

    Followed up again with Home Shield today, 9/30 and they are still waiting for parts to arrive but couldn't provide an ETA. We are a family of 7 and going almost a month with a washer is a disaster. If I had known it would take a month or longer to have an appliance repaired, I would've never bought the Home Shield plan and purchased a new washer out of pocket. It costs about $48 a week to do our laundry at the washeteria.

    I finally caved in and purchased American Shield after my niece kept bragging how wonderful it is. Well my experience has been the total opposite. Within a week a purchasing it my a/c started leaking water into my home roughly over an inch. In the bucket up to 5. It took AHS 24 hours to get someone out there(I knew this) the contractor just took pictures of the water and unit and said my pipes where clogged and Said needed a plumber and he wouldn’t touch the a/c. Cost $75.00 and nothing done. Next day a plumber came out which cost me an additional 75.00. AHS gave some BS that it’s not their responsibility. The plumber said there is nothing wrong with my plumbing. The leak is coming from the top of the unit.

    I called AHS. They sent out for a second opinion 24 hrs later. It’s now been 5 days. The technician knew exactly what was wrong but before fixing it he needed to write a work order form. His boss told him he could NOT fix it without taking pictures and submitting them first to AHS for their approval. It is Friday morning and as you can all guess they close on weekends and have no one to review the forms. It is now Monday morning, when I called them again they first said they never received the second opinion after which they proceeded to say the review committee will review the report and it will take up to 48 hours. It has now been a full week!!

    This is the worst company. I am within my 30 days to cancel my contract which is what I’ll be doing next and hiring a real a/c company to fix my problem. Save yourself the stress and headache. They make money by denying and fixing only small parts do you have to keep having technicians come out. This actually came out of the mouth of one of their techs.

    ASAP Plumbing Services really went above and beyond what I anticipated. They serviced several things including a toilet issue and a drain issue, and since those all involved the master bathroom, the repair affected us quite significantly. They really did a great job. Their communication was also very good. They’re someone that I’d recommend American Home Shield to retain. Sometimes you get the warranty companies and while we all think they’ll still all be great, they’re not. But in this case, ASAP really was involved and did the right thing versus just whatever. So they deserve some credit.

    I had submitted this claim online and the website was really good. I appreciate the opportunity to select one of the various contractors. Even though the price of the warranty seems to continue to go up due to the prices going up, I would be more likely to renew again because of the service I receive. I’ve even already told multiple people that while it’s not inexpensive, they do follow up and I feel that it’s worth the price paid.

    I would absolutely NOT recommend AHS to anyone. We have been dealing with a claim since 8/19 and currently (9/29) it is still not resolved. We had a leak from and upstairs bathroom. The technician they sent out opened up the ceiling in the room below to try to figure out where the leak was coming from. He could not gain access from this point, so he went back upstairs (where he should have started in the first place) and gained access from the wall behind the shower. He was able to make the necessary repair. When he left he said he would keep the claim 'open' so that they could come back out to repair the drywall.

    When I called AHS to set up this appointment, they said the case was closed and they couldn't do anything.. leaving us with large holes in our drywall in two different locations in the home. We finally got the issue escalated and after days waiting and hours debating on the phone, we were able to have another company assigned to make the repairs. We were told the second company would reach out to us to schedule the repair...

    A week later we still had not heard from them, so we called them directly, They said they didn't have a work order from AHS. I called AHS back and again, after much time wasted on the phone, finally got it sorted out. When the company called back to schedule the repair, they couldn't come out until 4 days later.. at 6pm on Friday the 13th. The guy came out, did about 1/3 of the repair work (which was done improperly-- chipping and flaking off), and said he had to leave and finish another day. His only availability was the NEXT Saturday, the 21st. During the week leading up to the 21st, he called and canceled, saying he could come the NEXT Saturday, the 28th. The morning of the 28th he called and said he couldn't make it.

    At this point, I called AHS back again.. spent over 4 hours on the phone with them trying to figure out how to handle the situation. Each person we spoke with gave us a different answer- none of which made any sense. "There is nothing we can do but reschedule again", "we can close the claim", "you can pay another service fee for a new contractor" and many other responses which sounded as if they were being read off of a script.

    Finally, my husband was able to speak with someone who was slightly helpful, we thought (we later found out was actually just telling us lies to get us off the phone). He said he would send someone out the next morning to make all of the repairs and he specified that the work would be done to get the wall and ceiling back to the original condition. We agreed to this and waited for the worker to come out the next day (today, Sunday the 29th).

    At this point we have wasted many hours on the phone, had two inaccessible rooms in our home for nearly 6 weeks, and have spent our entire weekend sitting at home either waiting for a worker to show up, or being on the phone with AHS. When the worker started to pack up and leave, we asked when he would be coming back to finish the work (sanding and painting) and we were told that he would not be performing those tasks, and we needed to contact AHS. We called back multiple times today, and could not get anyone to give us an answer on when this will be done. Again, we received many different conflicting answers and have no idea what our next step should be. I have reached out multiple times and on many different platforms over the past several weeks, trying to get someone from CS to help, but cannot get a response.

    I don’t like American Home Shield’s representatives. Half of them can’t speak or understand English very well and it’s very annoying because they talk you to death. They say, “Well, Sir, we really appreciate your business today, and we’re so happy that you called. We just want to take the best possible…” I don’t want to hear all that crap. I need them to ask me all the appropriate questions directly and then get off the phone. By the time they’re talking you to death, you get in there and they say, “We need to verify your information.” You say it and they can’t understand you and you repeat it back. This happens all the time.

    My experiences with the plumbing and the air conditioning haven’t been great at all. I was on the fence of whether to even renew with AHS. But because of my experience with the microwave, I thought I'd give them one more chance and that’s it. The contractors that came out from Cooper Appliances were professional in the house. They didn’t scratch anything. They were neat, friendly and did a wonderful job. They’re one of the best contractors that’s been out yet. They had to come one visit then they had to bring two guys back. They had to uninstall the microwave then they had to take it to the shop. They kept it over a week then they had to come back and reinstall it.

    I called in my claim and it was automated. I usually talk to somebody when I’ve had to do it in the past, but this time, it didn’t get that far. It just took care of it, automated, and that was fine. It went good. However, the tech couldn’t seem to figure it out so he wanted to come out and make a whole day thing of it and redo everything up under the ground. And I didn’t know this, but the lady said it wasn’t covered. That’s something that I wasn’t too happy about because that’s one of the reasons I liked AHS' warranty - it’s because it covered electric and everything. And then, all of a sudden, they come up with, “Oh, that’s not covered.” “What are you talking about it’s not covered? If it’s an electric problem and if they have to dig a little bit, that’s still electric.”

    I’d like to check in to that and see if that’s accurate. That really needs to be looked at because that’s false advertisement. I’ve already recommended AHS to many people but that’s one thing that is gonna stop people from wanting to be there because if you tell them that something is covered and then, “Oh, well, sorry. We have to do this? ‘Cause this part is not covered,” people wouldn't go with them.

    American Home Shield's pricing was fair and reasonable. I saw one of the ads on the TV as well, so I decided to check out the company and give them a chance. I normally call them even though there's an online option. Then they immediately put the work order in when I call. Everything is fine. My biggest challenge is when the work order is cut, getting the company to be accommodating to the customer. It seems the customer has to cater to the contracted companies' timeframe. For instance, when it first went out, we were experiencing a heat wave for two weeks straight at 90 degrees to 92 degrees every single day. It was a Friday when it happened and they couldn't come out. They don't do emergencies, even though we were burning up inside of here. They don't work on weekends. So, I was almost to the point to going to get a hotel. It was so ridiculous that I had to wait till Monday.

    And then, that was challenging because I live alone and they want you to stay home for three hours. They would tell you, "Well, I'll be there between 9 and 12. You're not the only customer." A lot of companies do that, but it doesn't cater for the person that lives alone, and I would have to take sick time, which I couldn't. It was a struggle trying to get the company to come out. I explained to one of the representatives, "You should pass it on, that you guys need to look for and add a company in there." Because I see them locally advertised that they have 24/7 service. If I have an emergency at night or somebody, and they have little children in the house Friday night, we can't wait till Monday morning for somebody to come take a look at it. So I have a big issue with that that all the contracted companies are your typical 8 to 4, 9 to 5.

    I've had three service calls about this air condition in the space of three months or less. It was a different company that came twice. For some reason, they thought they found the issue. They replaced some parts, but it wasn't fixed. So a few weeks later, it went back to the same issue. When Automatic Control came out, the guy took his time and actually went through the entire system, hence he found one of the lines had a leak, and that was the problem from the get-go, that the other company couldn't figure out. So I was very pleased with the service and the experience of the technician.

    I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and it wasn’t too bad. I wasn’t sure exactly what to put, but I knew it was electrical, so that was what I put. The contractor came in, and he opened up the light area and checked the light switch. He determined that it was the ballast in the light and proceeded to replace it. When he was screwing it back in, something on the ballast broke or on the light itself. So, he just screwed it in to the light casing and tried to fix it that way. He ended up re-screwing it in another position to get it to stay up there but it works. Other than that, it was a quick and pleasant experience. I also had an issue with my toilet and the guy who came out told me I needed to replace it. So, he was talking like 300 bucks and I could buy a toilet for cheaper than that and put it in myself. So, we just took it off and we got the piece out that was clogging it up, and it didn’t cost us anything but a toilet seal.

    I’m going on my third year with American Home Shield and everything has been pretty good, so far. Also, it's pretty easy to submit claims online. When I had a technician come out for my AC claim, I didn’t have time to get home. He went in the backyard and checked the gauges and told me what happened. I was having some construction done on my house and they were putting up new siding, and they drove a nail through the line that holds all the refrigerant and it leaked out. I had the people that were doing construction go out there and fix it. The technician did everything before I could even get home to be there. He did great and it didn’t cost me anything.     I've had American Home Shield for more than five years and most things are okay. I had Old Republic before and they take longer processing or assigning a request. American Home Shield gets it done, except the last one, but otherwise, very good follow-up until somebody's assigned to that request. Most recently, I created a service request but it was canceled and then I called in. It took almost a week to resolve the problem with the AC and we are in Texas.     I called in on a Monday morning, and by 10:30, I had filed a claim with American Home Shield. Allstate Plumbing was quick to answer my call. They responded and got with me and set up an appointment and came right out. They were on time and fixed the problem and left. They did an excellent job. On the other hand, the contractor for my electrical, At Home Services, was two and three hours late. They said they'd be there at 10:00. They showed up at 1:00. My two grown sons pointed out that the man was drinking on the job. I told that to At Home Services.

    He was nice but he left in the middle of a job and left two of his workers there. The workers even called in and have him come back. He was gonna leave and said it was fixed. I went back in and hit the switch box of the circuit breaker. I told my son to turn on the lamp and it wouldn't turn on! The man said that he'd write up that he's finished and come back. I told him that it was not working and two circuit breakers were totally out. He came back with two of those in, were extremely dusty, and weren't in a case. I don't know if he took them out of another job. So far, they're lasting. I waited a month to finally get it finished. In six to eight months, when the breakers go, the warranty is over, I'm gonna have to start over again, and I was not happy at all with that.

    I had a poor experience with a plumber seven years ago and AHS assigned him to me again. I said, "No, I won't." And they sent another one. I was happy because this is an automated system, and I will have to get a live person to say that I won't take At Home Services again for anything electrical. Overall, American Home Shield seemed to provide me good services.

He was pretty friendly and let me help. He told me what he was doing, and said, "Hey, I need help in order to do that." So, I was there helping him.     It was 91 degrees in my house and my AC wasn't working at all. American Home Shield's claim rep was incredibly professional and personal. Her customer service was so sincere and I really felt that she had compassion for my problems. I'm a baby boomer, and that's important to me. The contractor that came out was amazing too.     My garbage disposal was not functioning. The AHS contractor came out. He was very timely and knowledgeable. He knew what he needed to do. He went in and turned the switch on the bottom of it to reset it, which I was not aware of, and it didn't turn on. Then he took what was like an Allen wrench and put it in it, and moved the blades, then turned it on again, and the blades did move, but then he also noticed there was a leak in the seal. He said that it had to be replaced because we can’t deal when the seal breaks so he looked into making sure it was approved, then went and looked for the new replacement item. Had the item and installed it the same day, and it’s back up and running. It’s been working great so far.

    There was a leak on the below tap when I turn on the shower. So, the technician from The Honest Plumber came out and fixed the tap. I spoke to someone from American Home Shield over the phone when I submitted the claim. I got a call after three or four days, and then the tech came out on Friday, so it was the fifth day, and he was fine. He was helpful. He understood the problem. There was another ticket that I had requested for the dishwasher of the same cause, but I haven't gotten any response back to that. They said they're gonna get back to me. So what they did was, they came and then saw the dishwasher and said that it might need replacement, so they're gonna check the warranty on the dishwasher, but then, they haven't given me any call back. It's been about four days now.

    My sister and my brother-in-law currently have AHS, and they were telling me how good they are in regards to fixing any items that have an issue around the house. And just the safety blanket of knowing that if the item can't be fixed, they replace it ‘cause things always break down.     I wasn't getting a good airflow to the back, two rooms of the house. I called American Home Shield and the rep I spoke with was fine. It took two days for Mills Electric to come out. We were happy with the work done until we had someone come back a couple days later and show us a big gap in the ductwork that he said there was no problem in.

    We were looking at getting other work done. And I had already had TVA come out to do a energy survey, and they had already told us that there was a low flow back there. Then, when he came out, he just said, we just needed a 6-inch duct. But it’s more like a 6-foot duct that was needed. I contacted AHS and I’m assuming they’re still investigating. With it still having a gap there, it’s still doing the same thing. We’re getting low airflow in our two bedrooms. I’m not very satisfied with the quality of providers that we’ve received over the years. We had another electrician come out, and he was fantastic. But now, the lights are kinda flickering, whereas, they were not doing that before, but all the outlets are working.

    Everything went well with the plumber that Home Shield sent out. He installed faucet. The faucets in the two bathrooms didn't work. He fixed those the first time. With the faucet in the kitchen, he wanted to replace it with what I had, but I wanted one that I could spray with and the one I had didn't, so I bought a new one. I bought a Moen and he came and fixed it. He was good. The faucet is working great and I got what I want. I was very pleased with the plumber.

    But when the air conditioning contractor came, I ended up having to pay over $1,200 on that, which surprised me. When I went out at 12 o'clock it was 72 degrees in here and I left it on, like he told me, on order, and then on cool. And when I came home, it was 84 degrees and there was no cold air coming in. It was air, but it wasn't cold. So, I looked it up online to go ahead and figure out what's already in there. I changed it to 74 degrees. I'm hoping that it's gonna work today that when that temperature gets to 74 that it's gonna kick in and get cold air. I've not had any cold air in this place since we moved. And when it gets up to 92 when you come home from work, it's not really good. But so far, I haven't had cold air.

    I call American Home Shield and they’re excellent once you get past the computer. The computer, as most computers do, don’t recognize the difficulty when you try and stipulate what the problem is, and then it comes back and tells you something else. And so, you get frustrated with that. But once you get to a live person, everything works out great. They’ve always been very responsive.

    Central Electric Contractors came out for my ceiling fan in the master bedroom. In the first instance, they did not have a switch. The switch was broken and defective, so they had to order a chain switch. The second time, the gentleman finally put in a switch, but it was only a two-speed switch versus a three-speed. Apparently, the manufacturer sent them the wrong one. The tech said he had to order a three-speed, so he would talk to the office and have them do that. However, I have not heard back from them yet. That was two weeks ago. I just don’t wanna bug them. I’m trying to give them time.

    The guys at AHS's contractor, Bill's Appliance were awesome. Monica and Maureen are fabulous people. I had them install a refrigerator and a double oven and I haven't had any issues with anything since then. I had called them out to test to see whether or not the oven was actually getting to the degree that it had been set and they assured me that it was. All of the resources that American Home Shield has have been outstanding and their process is very simplified.

    The guy from Stilwell Plumbing fixed the sink in the kitchen, so there's no more leak. Also, the hose water valve was blocked, so they changed the valve. The kitchen problem is now fixed. The contractor was very good. The only thing was the time schedule was 12:00 to 2:00, and they arrived late in the scheduled time. Other than that, I recommend American Home Shield. We still have one problem in the second floor bathroom where there seems a burst pipe leak, and the water inside the wall flowed to the roof of the first floor causing damage on the roof of the first floor. I’ve had a guy say that they only cover the pipe in the sink. They asked us to file a claim for this bathroom leakage.

    I have no complaints about how fast Sadler's Air took care of the issue once they got here. But both times they came out, they didn't make it in between the appointment times. They were running behind and I had to call and get an update on that. I would recommend updating on appointment times. It's better than me having to call. Other than that, everything was fine. I've been with AHS for seven years and I keep them because of how efficient they are. If I have any issues, from the start to finish, it's taken care of and the time that it takes them is pretty quick.

    We wanted a home warranty. I looked through the internet a little bit and picked AHS. 75% to 80% of their contractors have been very good and very professional. We don't have any big issues. Sometimes we wondered on a couple if they were as knowledgeable as they should be but haven't had any bad experiences with them. I do the service requests online because it seems to be the fastest and easiest way to get it in there. And then, we wait for them to call us back or text us and schedule the appointment. But AHS could have a little cheaper service call because whether I have something small or big, it's $100.

    Updated on 10/11/2019: So, the company say to call them regarding my experience and review. The kept the review in convenient limbo by writing to me directly by email. When I call the number and extension for "Mariah", I get in a laboured MALE Indian Accent "fourrr treeeeee treeee fourr" " then the computer "Leave a message" BEEEEP. Well as I said Do not use and they are the worst. They know they did wrong by not getting any authorization for the work so now I will have to seek resolution through a "real" agency complaint through the State Attorney Office, and I thinks I will do some Small Claims action against them and the vendor. Stinks, but they have deep pockets and will not even try to resolve. I was told that AHS is one of the worst to pay vendors and they are remarkably "cheap". This is why you get so many sub par contractors. The good ones cannot afford the rates AHS will pay I guess.

    Original review: My air conditioning units are almost 20 years old. Every 6 months there is some form of failure, and usually with my $68 a month premium and $50 per trip deductible they come and fix it. This summer my AC went out again and they sent vendor to look at it. The guy hangs out all day, and in the end when he sums up says the unit is too old, the R21 refrigerant is being phased out this year and it's so old not worth fixing. He said it needed an "?exchanger and a bunch of other parts" and said "I don't even touch stuff this old". He then says "I'm going to get you a new unit" I said "HAHAHA NO WAY AHS NEVER REPLACES ANYTHING - it's repair till doomsday and band aid whenever possible. He says "Well I don't even work on junk this old, it's a dinosaur, I promise i'll get it, and I've got them before to cover t"...so off he goes.....

    Weeks go by - no contact from anyone. I check the web site and it says "Parts ordered". A few days later I call AHS and the phone said I have to call the vendor. Left a couple messages with the local repair. No answer or return call. (Going on 4-5 weeks no AC, South Carolina, Summer.) Call the AHS again and get "Call center" in india or similar and a lady speaking in mediocre english following a strict phone scrip and Cust service flowchart takes my message that:

    1) I want to know WHAT was ordered
    2) What will be fixed

    3) And mostly WHEN

    "Let me call the vendor and check". 20 mins on hold and nothing...She comes on and says "no one answered but we will let you know and call you back". About 10 days later on a Friday I get a call from the vendor wanting to schedule "installation" on Tuesday. I said fine. They come tuesday to replace the exchange unit only. Not the AC - just a major part. Ok I dont care almost 2 months of 100 degree weather with all the issues on my house from the heat and humidity as long as it was fixed I'm good. So they come and took 2 days to install. Also SEVERAL TIMES I asked for a duct work estimate that no one wanted to give or touch. AHS loves for you to hit them with a $50 every issue even if it's semi related. Never got that quote... Anyway, the guy gets done with it and said "Ok how do you want to cover the non covered portion?" I'm like the WHAT? He tells me ....."that'll be $1060.00".

    I CANT GET A TIME WHEN THEY ARE COMING - I CANT FIND OUT SQUAT ABOUT THE "PART" ORDERED AND THEY SHOW UP AND SLAP ME WITH A GRAND? Then the vendor company "LOW COUNTRY HEATING AND AIR" Boss calls and says "AHS is cheap and if you don't pay they guy doesn't get paid on and on - tells me and admits that AHS and him agreed that I have NO ESTIMATE OF FINAL REPAIR and they got no approval from me - NO APPROVAL GIVEN to do it with the price then guilted me into paying him. AHS has had 2 calls to sort this and they have violated the law with no consent from me. As a result I have had a financial strain on me to add it all up and time lost dealing with it.

    No return calls - just placation and patronizing from MR ** and Ms **, aka Jim and Debbie. Yes Im mad. Broken promises and a G bill later nothing.. I'm still going to the attorney general and the rest. I will be taking them to small claims also. I've had it. 2 yrs prior they badly repaired my fridge, came back (for another $50 and it is as bad as ever because THEY DIDN'T CHECK THE FREEZER DOOR HARDWARE and blew me off as usual. As a result I am ordering the parts and fixing it myself because they just cannot be counted on at AHS for more than basic handyman BS or for overcharging with out my permission. Would NOT recommend.

    On 9/1/19, submitted service request for leaking A/C in Oceanside, CA due to a blocked A/C drain pipe. AHS sent 4 different contractors 2 A/C and 2 plumbers. Each contractor said it was not their job. No repair, no replace and no recommendation was ever provided. At least 10 calls to somewhere outside USA to get help, disconnected multiple times, one rep. refused to connect me with escalation team or a supervisor. I was charged at least 3 times $125 service fee the same request. As of 9/29/19, I received no help from AHS and had to hire an outside contractor. They only recourse for some reimbursement and waiving excessive/overcharged service fees per contract. Has been filing complaints with BBB, Dept of Consumer Affairs and Atty. Generals Office. There is no online way to submit complaint or request claim, I have wasted nearly 5 hours on the phone with AHS with no resolution. Only frustration and disappointment.

    My AC wasn’t blowing any cold air and the toilet was leaking. A tech came out for the AC and tried to rip me off by telling me I needed to replace the unit. He was somebody that I contacted because I was desperate at the time. But when I submitted a claim with AHS and they sent out their contractor, it turned out that all that had to be done was to flip the breaker switch. So, I’m glad that this guy came in because it saved me about $6,000.

    The tech who came for the toilet did a good job, too. He had a part replaced which took about a week to order. Then we had a few more days to reschedule for him to come out and put that in because I work in Odessa and I live in Midland, so Friday afternoon is the only day I can have a contractor come because of my job. But that worked out fine. He was in and out within a half an hour or so. Other than that, I submitted my claims online and the process was very easy. And since the repairs, the performances of the AC and toilet have been very reliable.

    The AC unit was not working properly and we weren't getting any cooling in our upstairs unit. I submitted a claim online with AHS and it was very easy. We have an annual service plan on our policy, and Crown Temperature Heating & Cooling came out to service the heater for the winter. After I filed the claim, the rep from Crown told me they would contact me, and they did within a few minutes because the tech was out in the neighborhood already and said he could stop by if that was okay. And I said, “Oh, sorry, I'm babysitting five of my grandkids. I can't up and walkout.” He said, “Okay, no problem.     We tried to change the filter on the refrigerator. It’s at the bottom of the refrigerator, and the filter did not go in. And then all of a sudden, it started to leak. Water was coming out of the filter area. So the refrigerator was pulled out of the wall, and the shut off valve was turned off. But I noticed that water started leaking again. I called American Home Shield, and they scheduled the appliance guy to come and fix the filter area since there was a part that was broken.

    The appliance guy told me to go ahead and call the plumber because they couldn’t fix it until the plumber was called. So, I called American Home Shield, and they said they would get a plumber over. The rep was very efficient, and she called the plumber. He was here within about two hours. So, that was very efficient. I appreciated that a lot because once he fixed that, the leaking stopped. They had to replace the shut off valve for the water.

    Both of the plumbing and appliance contractors were extremely professional and very efficient. I wasn’t happy that I had to wait another day to get the refrigerator fixed because it was sitting in the middle of my kitchen. But the plumber came right away, which I really appreciated. American Home Shield did a good job. I'm happy. As a matter of fact, I just renewed my contract with them.

    My AC has gone out twice. The first time, the issue was the coil upstairs. AHS's contractor, Climate Express came out and had to order a part. It got in pretty quickly and they were on the job the next week. The second time the AC went out, there were some wires outside that were too close to a capacitor and they were getting hot. The tech from Climate Express was really good. He went upstairs first to make sure there was no water in the pan. When he came back down, he went outside and he could hear that the compressor wasn’t running. He recognized the issue right away and lengthened the wires. The AC has been fine ever since. He let me know what he was doing the whole time.

    National Platinum Services came out for the dryer that was not working. It was not heating and it stopped running. The representative when I called the claim in was okay. But I had to call them back and find out when the contractor was coming. They didn't even send an email saying he was coming. But when I called them back, they said that they had a date scheduled. And that date, I wasn't available, so the contractor did make other plans to come another day. He was courteous and did everything on point. American Home Shield has been there when I needed them. Before the dryer got repaired, I had to go to the laundromat twice.

    I’ve spoken to American Home Shield reps on the phone a couple of times. The first time I made a request, the repair people called to let me know that what I was requesting wasn’t covered, but I called AHS and talked to them about it. They were nice and mostly helpful. The first time I tried to submit a claim, I did it over the phone and I was told that I didn’t have coverage on my AC units at all, which I knew was not true. The rep wouldn’t let me talk to somebody else, so I ended up hanging up, then calling back and getting someone else.

    And since then, I just do it online, because I don’t like talking to people. It's great because I work in risk management. I spend all day on the phone at work. My job is to collect on property damage claims for a major truck stop company. So, when people run over our stuff, it’s my job to collect so I spend all day talking to insurance agents on the phone. So if AHS has a way to report something online, I’d do it online.

    For my recent claim, Anthony’s TV & Appliance took a couple of days to come out, but that’s understandable since they’re probably the only appliance repair company that AHS uses in the area. It took the guy about three days to get there, but he fixed the unit quick and easy, and lubricated some wheels and things while was there. He did a great job.

    The blades on the AC unit were not spinning and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield. I called them, paid the $75 service fee and the company that they set up took two days to call to schedule. I didn’t have to follow up on it. Both the interaction and the service that was provided by the contractors were perfect. The technician knew what he was doing and what the problem was right away. He took care of it in less than 20 minutes. Since then, the fuse has been good. I called again after 45 days because the AC was not spinning again and it was the capacitor. It turned out the septic system wasn’t working correctly. It was because it got clogged up with a plastic cover. The toilets are doing fine since the repair.

    I've been with American Home Shield for 14 years now and I’ve had more awful experiences than I’ve had good. It has something to do with the shoddy people that come out. When it comes right down to it, American Home Shield is the one that’s responsible for getting the contracts with these people. In a recent claim for my AC, I probably talked to AHS at least 15 times about the issues. The first company they assigned, Elite Heating and Air, wouldn’t show up or they’d say they’d be anywhere from 10:00 to 2:00. And then they call at 5:00 and say, “Hey, we’re at the house.” What part of 5:00 is anywhere close to between 10:00 and 2:00? There were no updates, no explanation, and they didn’t take the time. Then they said, “I thought everything’s working.” Like, “No, everything is not working.” If I turn it on, it is working technically but it takes 3 minutes to get going.

    The property manager has been dealing with the issue for 3 weeks and Elite wouldn’t get back. So finally, she gave up and gave it to me. When I got involved, it took over two and a half weeks working with the company to get them here. And then they lied too. They said, “Oh, we’ve only been there twice,” which was crap. They’ve been here six times to look at the stuff, and not once did they explain what was going on or why it took 3 minutes to get the AC going. That 3 minutes is important because if it takes that long to get going then it probably needed to be serviced. It wouldn't have been a problem if it worked efficiently. The system is old and needed to be replaced. They just left and said, “Yeah, it wasn’t working.”

    Then, Southern Air Conditioning and Heating was sent and they took the time. They called and met us when they said they were gonna meet us and coordinated like, “Hey, we can’t be there for another 15 minutes.” “No problem.” They kept in touch with us and they squared their way. The day when we got the call that they’re coming, I was at our property manager and they were like, “Hey, don’t worry about it. We’ll adjust as needed if you can’t get there right away.” They were fantastic. They did good and did all the things that they were supposed to do. They talked to the property manager and also explained what was going on with the system where the other company didn’t do it. I would recommend Southern.

    We had an issue with the water heater. There was no hot water coming out. I started noticing about a couple of weeks before that water wasn’t coming out hot anymore. I did a claim online with American Home Shield. I like the online process. If I have additional things, I’ll call them. Sometimes there are some things in there that I need to ask. One of the things I didn’t realize was one of the things that American Home Shield didn’t pay for was the lighting in my refrigerator. I wish I had known that if the lightning doesn’t affect the product in the refrigerator, it’s something that they weren’t gonna pay for. So, there are some things in there that you’d like to know before hand if it’s gonna be covered or not. The AHS contractors have always been really good. They’re very professional and very courteous.     The guy from Mr. Rooter Plumbing was really excellent, helpful and professional. He did what he needed to do. He gave me some tips also if something happens later on, what to do and stuff like that. He was pretty nice, so I really recommend this guy. They gave me a problem the first time, they didn’t do it and I had to call them twice or three times. But whenever they came back, they did a good job.

    I had an air conditioning claim before that and what happened was it had rust on it. I know the air conditioning is working, but it’s not cooling enough. I went upstairs and where the connection is was a little bit kinda weak. The guy who came in said it breaks all the way. American Home Shield charged me 100 bucks but the guy didn’t do anything. I told him that I could’ve gotten somebody to do a free estimate. I called AHS and they said that they'd look into it and they'd call me back. I called back three times and nobody answered so that’s the problem with American Home Shield. I'm paying $60 a month and getting breakage maybe once a year and the customer service doesn’t work with you.

    We are still in the process of figuring out what else we need to do with the HVAC stuff, and the contractor AHS sent, Island Breeze, have been really helpful. They've done pretty good. But we had an issue with the contract renewal with AHS. We were under the impression that when you sign a contract with them, you are in that contract for a year.

    We were about to move back into the house. The time frame when the contract was supposed to be renewed was May. We weren't gonna be in the house until July. And so, we said, "Well, we're not gonna renew it, necessarily." We found out later that it doesn't matter. You can just cancel it whenever you want but it was a huge pain. Have we known that, we would have not wanted to cancel it. It was very poor communication on their end when it came to dealing with that. Our whole thing was canceled. I think part of that was because the person we were talking to didn't understand how the process worked. It essentially caused us to have a one month gap in coverage and then we had to essentially redo the whole thing to get a new plan. But we're fine now. We got it resolved. I continue to recommend AHS to other people.

    American Home Shield has been pretty good. I've been with them for four months and I called them for my second claim when my AC wasn't cooling and it had been two weeks. I made my claim online then I talked to a person about it afterwards. The rep was very good. Home Service Corporation was really quick and was here the next day or the day after that. The technician was excellent. He really knew his stuff. He came out and diagnosed the problem. He then had to come back because he had to schedule it for two to four hours of repair time because he had to go somewhere else. He came back a couple of days later and he fixed the AC. He spent the time and explained what he was doing. There was a frozen valve in there and he had to take that all apart, unseal it, and get it working again.

    Timeframe-wise, it was fine. I know sometimes you can't fix it on your first visit out because you have to go get parts and you have to schedule enough time to do it. This second claim happened because of my first claim with American Home Shield. The first one was a furnace issue and when the guy came out, he saw that there was the issue with the air conditioner so he told me to file another claim with the home warranty company and they'll have to come out and fix that.

    Filing claims with AHS is easier when done online because sometimes the guys I talk to seem like they’re in India or somewhere. However, it seems like the claim gets processed quicker when calling. When the kitchen faucet's spray thing wasn’t spraying, AHS helped to replace the kitchen faucet with a new one. That’s working great. Right now, one of my furnaces needs to be replaced. The contractor said the firebox got a crack in it and it can’t be repaired, so it has to be replaced. They're now waiting for the approval. I am satisfied with American Home Shield's service.

    We had a couple of leaky faucets in the bathroom and I filed the claim with AHS late Sunday night. Then I woke up Monday morning about 3 o’clock to start getting ready for work and when I walked into my bathroom, it was flooded. I ran downstairs and the water had dripped through the ceiling and the light fixtures so my kitchen was also flooded.

    At about 9 o’clock that morning AHS called me and said they were sorry as they didn’t have anybody till Thursday who could handle that kind of problem, but they'd see what they could do. Then they called around diligently worked to see if they could squeeze somebody in. They ended up finding somebody to come out to my house and take care of the problem by about 10 o’clock that morning. So, kudos to them. AHS sent out the techs from Ally Plumbing, Inc. and they were great. The overall work was perfect, too. The tech walked me through everything and showed me what possible causes were. He was also very professional, very versed, and knowledgeable in what he was doing.

    I bought an older home and bought the Home Shield policy to cover anything that came up in the first year. But I found out that it didn't cover an icemaker that was separate from a refrigerator. Then, they were calling and asking me if I wanted to renew in September. During that transitional period, my air conditioner went out. I got somebody to look at it and they told me what was wrong. I asked the person who was selling me the policy if they will cover the air conditioning problem. She said they will send people out and that it'll be covered. So I told her that I'll renew my policy. It was an $8,000 repair and I was getting ready to pay $2,000 for my renewal so it seemed like a good deal.

    As it turned out, the repair was gonna run about $3,000 and it wasn't what I wanted to do with my air conditioner. Of the $3,000 AHS was only gonna pay 600 and I had to pay for all the rest so that wasn't a good deal. What irritated me was when I called back to cancel the policy, I got some girl on there who was not helpful and kept questioning and badgering me about canceling the policy. She wouldn't give up. She was going down her spiel and that irritated me. When I told her I need to cancel it, she said she would have somebody call me back within 24 hours but I never heard from anybody. I called them back and the lady that I talked to the second time was better. But she was trying to ask me why I was canceling and wanted to know what the work was. Although I'm not mad, I felt it was misrepresented to me what the policy covered. Then they couldn't respect me when I wanted to end the policy.

    When we bought our lake house, we put it on American Home Shield. We had an issue with our water heater and submitted a claim for that. Ray Stovall Plumbing was Johnny-on-the-spot with calling me back and they came out. When we left our lake home at 1:00 on a Thursday, they were working. When I went back on Sunday, the door to the attic was not closed. I realized that however they fixed the water heater, I realized that however they did it, there was a valve sticking out so the attic won't close.

    I called Ray Stovall back and I told the rep that was gonna have to be fixed. They’ve billed my credit card $1,300 for the additional and the gentleman was supposed to come the previous Thursday but didn't show. He told me he would be at our lake house at 3:00 and we live far away from where that house is. So, we had to make plans and get someone there. I had a painter there whom I told to stay until the guy from Ray Stovall comes. I told the painter that the guy would be at the property at 3:00. At 4:00 the painter called me and told me that the guy hasn't come and that he needed to get on the road.

    I called Ray Stovall and the guy told me he was still busy on another job. That didn't work out that day. So, when I called and let the people in New Orleans know of the issue, they were very nice an said that they will book an appointment and that the tech would come the following Wednesday to fix issue. Every time this happens, we're driving an hour one way to the lake house and another hour back home. Despite this issue, AHS has always been really good about the service they render and taking care of the problem I have. I've been very pleased with them.

    American Home Shield sent Oak Valley Appliance for my microwave that quit working. There was no power to it, and then the burners on my stove were not working right. They were leaving black soot on our pots. The issue was a fuse was blown in the microwave. And then on the stove, it wasn’t covered under warranty because it was a manufacturer’s thing. It wasn’t set up for propane. So, I paid cash for that.

    I filed the claim for the microwave over the phone, and I had good interaction with the claims representative. It was on a Friday, so the contractor came out the following week. He had to come back out for the microwave. It did the same thing again. He came out and checked it and said it might have been a bad fuse, but he took care of it right away. It’s a little glass fuse. It was working when he left, but all of a sudden, it stopped working again. He made a recommendation just in case, and we’ve done it, and nothing’s happened since then.

    I’ve also used AHS one other time before that, and it was for my dryer, and things were done right. The contractors came out and they had to order the part on my dryer. It was in the morning, so that next day they had the part, and they came out and fixed it. AHS could change their automated system though. You try to put in your thing, and you have to call and call to get a hold of somebody and tell them, “Listen, that wasn’t the only thing I was calling about. I was calling about my burner.” And I had to let them know that there were two things wrong but I couldn’t do it. You can’t do it when you’re doing it on the internet.     I filed a claim online with Home Shield for the dryer. It wasn't starting. Somebody contacted me the next day, and it took a couple of days to get him to come because of my schedule. The contractor was able to come sooner but I wasn’t available. It was a scheduling issue, and I was the problem. But the tech was really great. He came on a Friday and determined that it was the part in the door. When you close the door, that part was making it not start. And he didn’t have the part so he was gonna have to order it. He ordered it and the part was in on Tuesday, but because of me, he wasn’t able to get to me until Thursday. Once he was able to come, he was done with it in about 20 or 30 minutes. I also had another request with Home Shield for rekeying the lock. And every time I had a request with Home Shield, it’s been a great experience.

We were having problems with consistent drying. It would take three or four attempts before the clothes were dry. I submitted a dryer repair claim online. The website is very easy to use. The online site tells you that the contractors will contact you within 24 business hours. And then, from there, they don't give you an expectation of when he'll be able to come out.     Placed work order in June. They keep sending unqualified technicians to fix AC ductwork. Problem was never fixed, nothing has been done (not even a screw touched). Had to spend entire summer in terrible heat. Now AHS keeps sending me a bill for $100 even though they accepted to absorb the fee several times. And still, the problem remains. This is a joke.     Had an American Home Shield contractor come out on 9/18 due to a.c. not cooling. The owner of the a.c. company said we needed a complete new system and that American Home Shield would not pay for it. He then quoted me $9500.00 for a new unit and charged $500.00 to add Freon for the system to get us through through a couple of days. I called American Home Shield on 9/21 and was told the contractor had not sent in the detailed work order required to determine coverage. I told the representative that I had a quote from another company for $7450.00 for the same unit quoted at $9500.00. I received a message from AHS on 9/23 stating they had contacted the contractor that morning to request documentation.

    I called AHS on 9/27 and they still had not received the detailed work order from contractor. I was forced to pay out of pocket for a new unit due to contractor delay in turning in paperwork, which he probably didn't do because he told me AHS was not responsible and he had already quoted me foe a new unit. AHS customer service refuses to discuss a cash reimbursement in this matter which my contract states they have an option to do. The unfortunate thing is we have had AHS since we built our house in 1998. Not good customer service. I give them 1 star on this because it is required.

    What do you call a chaotic, unprofessional disorganization with no customer service abilities of any kind and a poor track record when it comes to providing properly vetted, skilled or simply adequate service professionals? I know them as American Home Shield (AHS). Why do I say this about AHS? My opinion of them has changed drastically over time. When I first entered into contract with AHS, they were relatively good, providing a stream of quality field workers to address a variety of household issues. However, slowly over time, I not only noticed a drop in the quality of these field agents and their respective companies but also a decline in customer service dexterity and outreach from AHS as well.

    I have a growing list of companies that I informed AHS not to send to my home again due to shoddy work, unreliability or just sheer incompetence on their part. It's to the point now where I am wondering if AHS vets these companies at all. Due to my experiences, I am of the opinion that they don't really check. I mean, can anyone with a truck and a tool box be a service provider for AHS, I wonder. When AHS chooses to use subcontractors of this type, that's what they are exposing you to.

    My latest case involves my intermittent refrigerator leak which occurred at unpredictable times over an indeterminate number of days. To reduce the amount of evidentiary wood damage from the leaks, I shut off the water. American Home Shield selected Amtec to handle the evaluation and repair. I explained all of this to the field technician during the visit. The tech replied, "I'm just going to replace everything in the ice-maker." I asked, wouldn't a better approach be to find the cause of the leak? He said, "rather than trying to find out what was wrong, it's easier to replace everything." I then asked, what happens if it starts leaking again? He assured me that it wouldn't.

    Well, a few days later, the refrigerator began leaking and actually damaged my wooden kitchen floor. When I called AHS, the representative informed me that Amtec was going to send a "senior technician who would assess the damage" and respond appropriately. That was the spin, crafted and designed to get me off the phone. The reality was that this so-called "senior tech" turned out to be the same guy who missed the cause of the leak roughly 10 days ago during his first visit. He almost missed it again this time too because he spent about 6 minutes trying to convince me that the fridge was not leaking. Of course, evidence of a leak was on the flooring all around the refrigerator. The tech was about to leave as I was further explaining things to him but then decided to check again finally locating the problem. Of course, it was the refrigerator, duh.

    When I began discussing the floor damage, with this tech, he stated, and these are his own words, "I don't know anything about that, or being a senior technician, I just fix things." Over the last couple years, I can't tell you the number of times I have substandard, penny ante operators stop by here to fix something only to leave me disappointed by some aspect of their visit ranging from an incomplete or botched job to charging a fee when none was warranted. As this relates to or reflects on AHS, I have noticed that even the simple act of trying to reach them by phone can be an exercise in futility. The phone just rings and rings.

    One time, I had to go online to request that service visit. All I can say is that if you are considering AHS, I'd strongly advice against it. In this competitive economy, there are more than a few alternatives. With a little bit of research and due diligence I am sure you can do better than AHS. If you don't you run the risk of being exposed to some substandard subcontractor with the potential to make your situation a whole lot worse than it was before their visit. Take it from someone who's been there. My advice for everyone is to go online, do your research, and take the reviews of such referring organizations into account before signing up and subsequently allowing them to sent some substandard subcontractor into your home who may make matters worse.

    Arctic Air Service and Maintenance was sent by American Home Shield to service the air conditioner that wasn’t working. It was blowing just hot air. The contractor was awesome.     We've been pretty fortunate with Home Shield since we started having them in 2010. They seem to work pretty well for us and they've replaced a lot of things that needed to be replaced. Recently, we had Riverside Heating and Air conditioning and they actually did an okay job. They called and said they would be here a certain time and the technician came within that window. When submitting claims, doing it online is really good. When we call though, we have to wait 20 minutes on the phone. Also, I hope the price can be a little less expensive.     Precision Door Services came out and it seemed to go well at the beginning. The tech looked at it and sized the garage door up. He put some screws in, tightened up the garage door, and it opened and closed pretty good. But a couple of days later, it worked it's way loose or something. It got back to the way it was when I called and it's pushing up the lever there. Some sort of torque being applied that makes it kinda come loose and there's a huge clunk when the door opens. I notified Precision and they said I would have to call the warranty so I did and AHS said to go ahead and make an appointment with Precision. The tech is coming out again. I've been with AHS for almost a year now and I will be renewing with them.

    Our refrigerator stopped cooling and I submitted the claim online to American Home Shield. It took about three days for the first people to come out. One of them said that they suspected that the Freon leaked out of it and they don't do anything with Freon. So, they contacted another company. The next people made an appointment for the following week. In the meantime, we had to buy a lot of ice for the ice chest and borrow a refrigerator. It was a pain in the rear end. Then, the technicians weren’t able to repair it. This was the fifth time that somebody had to come out for that refrigerator. It wasn’t repairable before and it was kind of pieced together. So, I got really frustrated and I replaced all my appliances. I got a refrigerator, a stove, a microwave and a dishwasher. I'm satisfied now that it's finally done, but it was very frustrating. American Home Shield was pretty good but their vendors were a little suspect in the process.

    I had a problem with my AC unit. AHS later sent Cecil and Sons and I was very happy with them. The two vendors that AHS sent prior, one was belligerent, and the other one was trying to charge us for things that weren't necessary. It wasn't the matter of repair, it was more trying to determine what was the issue. This claim has been going on for a month and a half.

    I was not pleased with the way that American Home Shield handled it 'cause I had to write letters, called multiple times just to get them to do something that should have been done initially which was a leak test. When the first vendor came out, we had issues with him. He said it needed to be done and I said if a leak test needed to be done, he had to go back to American Home Shield and ask authorization. He got mad. He said that he didn't have to ask from AHS and that he could do it. We had a verbal altercation so that was the end of that. The claim has been going on for a month and a half now and I'm waiting on a follow-up call from Cecil and Sons regarding an upgrade program from American Home Shield.

    Both my washing machine and dryer had problems that I didn't even know and it had gotten worse. I submitted a claim with American Home Shield and the online process was great and very easy. Everything went smooth and I was so appreciative. The contractor who came out was professional, did excellent service, knew exactly what was needed, and did the job quickly. He has expertise and I was well pleased.

    We had to order a part for the dryer. We were in the process of ordering parts for the washer as well but they did not have the part that we needed for the washing machine as it was discontinued.     Our AC unit needed Freon and because it was an old unit, it was gonna cost us $1,000 to have the Freon replaced. We didn't wanna pay and invest $1,000 in a unit that’s 15 years old, with no guarantee. It could have the same problem in six months, so we wanted to get it replaced. And to replace it, we only wound up with a $500 cash-in-lieu. It was repairable in AHS's eyes but not replaceable. But to us, it really wasn't repairable. We paid $4,000 to have it replaced. So that wasn't a great experience.

    In contrast, we did have a claim for a range and it was a great experience. A couple of the burners on the top were not turning on. The tech came out the same day we submitted the claim. He showed up when he said he was gonna be there. He did the service and followed up with us. The parts weren't available so AHS replaced the whole unit with a comparable unit, and we got a brand new stove. We'd definitely recommend AHS.

    There was water leaking all over the floor at the bottom of the water heater and there was no moisture coming out the pressure valve.     My experience with AHS contractor, Pride A/C & Heating, was extremely positive. The gentleman that came out diagnosed the issue quickly. A board went bad and he did a temporary fix.     There was an issue with the main shutoff valve inside my house. It was leaking when it was on. American Home Shield gave me Hoosier Plumbing Inc. as my contractor and they contacted me that day saying they were gonna come the next day. But because of my availability, they didn't wind up coming until the following Monday. They would've been there sooner though if I had been available. I was at work when they came and I just talked to them on the phone. But my fiancée was there and she didn't say anything about them being rude.     I just moved in June and I’ve been with American Home Shield since then. But then I was with them at my previous address too for four years. They're really fast when you call the number. It is all automated. But you usually have an appointment within a day or two. They just get back to you right away to have your appliance fixed. Appliance Solutions came out last Friday and the tech was super nice. He was in there for about 30 seconds. He said it was the pan underneath the refrigerator that was making the vibrating noise, and he fixed it temporarily. And then on Saturday the fridge was making that noise again, so I contacted them. They're coming out next week. I wasn’t available today when they were in the area. But they were great.

    Dawson Services came out for my recent claim. They have done a couple of calls for me and they're really good. It's just that I don't like the services of American Home Shield now. They’ve vendored it out overseas. It's absolute frustration when calling. Number one, the lines are not really clear. Number two, I’m a little bit hard of hearing and most of them have very thick accents. It takes 15 minutes to get transferred over to the States and talk to someone. I'm totally unsatisfied with dealing with the people overseas because it’s nothing but a nightmare. I realized that all companies are doing it, but customer service is a dead issue with the executives. I’ve never had any trouble before they vendored that out. It’s the outsource that has shot American Home Shield's customer service to hell.

    GE Appliances came out and serviced the washing machine. It was leaking and making very loud noises, and it would not spin. Sometimes, it would not shift gears. I called that claim in to AHS and they were very helpful. It was great. But the timeframe for when we could expect the contractor to come out was somewhat delayed because they were smashed. It was like a week. That aside, the contractor was great. They did what they had to do. They diagnosed the problem, said it completely had to be rebuilt and ordered the parts. Then somebody else came back and rebuilt it. The washing machine has been functioning perfectly after the repair. I'm very pleased with American Home Shield overall.

    There was a problem with my thermostat and because I wasn’t sure if it was a covered benefit, I ended up doing the claim over the phone.     I had a stoppage in my condensation drain on my AC in the house and the water was backing up in the drain area. When I filed the claim online, I had to play a little bit with their website to file my specific need. I just put it on the plumbing or AC since I didn’t know which one will do. The contractor that came was decent and went right into it. I showed him what I needed to have looked at. He explained and gave me some pointers on how to prevent that from happening again like putting bleach in the drain to keep it clean and smooth. With the weather being warm here earlier, the AC unit was running almost 24-7 which caused the problem. It hadn’t been snaked in about three years.     My hot water tank was busted. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield and they sent Greenway out here to evaluate the situation. They told me that they would replace the hot water tank, and that they would do the work, I just needed $1,000 deductible. I'm trying to work on getting the $1,000 deductible now. The water is running down on my outside until I could get the money. It's running from a pipe outside, down the roof and onto the patio, instead of running upstairs.

    This was the second time that I tried to use American Shield. The first time was my air unit had went out. I have not had an air unit this summer. They did send someone out here and it was the same situation as with the hot water heater. I needed the $700 for the antifreeze, and I didn't have it. American Home Shield was very professional with me. They were understanding and they worked quickly. In fact, I made the call one day and the person was here the next day. The contractors that they sent out were professional. But I wish there was a claim that they didn't charge you with a deductible.

    With American Home Shield, I like not getting a giant bill when something breaks. I have a deductible, and I pay the premiums, but it offers some expense stability. So, I like that feature of home warranties in general. I realized quite a few years ago that when we had an appliance replaced, AHS is paying a lot less for those appliances than I was paying. So, it occurred to me that unlike people will say of insurance companies is that I could actually save money, and AHS could actually make some money at the same time because they're paying less for the services since they're bundling volume through the service provider. And especially that I have two homes now with a home warranty. I don’t live in the other home, and I don’t have time to deal with it. So, when something breaks, I have one number to call, they’ll send somebody out and I don’t have to have a guy that does everything or have 10 guys to get everything done.

    So, to me, it offers some measure of convenience, and I feel that I’ve more or less gotten good value out of it over the years especially on our old house where we’re not really looking to upgrade appliances. We’re renting it. I’m not gonna put in something super fancy that orders milk for me from the fridge or whatever when I take it out. I’m not gonna buy any top-end stuff. So, what AHS offers as a basic replacement model is what I would buy. In that case, it works out really well. I just like having some stability, so I don’t get stuck with, “Oh, this broke. Here’s a giant bill.” When we went without a warranty for a while, I’ve had service providers just blatantly try to rip me off, and I didn’t care for that.

    The only thing is it takes a really long time to get ahold of somebody at the claims department, even with a callback. And I told the AHS guy, “So, I signed up for give me a callback when you’re ready to talk so I don’t have to be on hold.” The system called me back right away, and then left me on hold for 40 minutes twice. Someone wasn’t really there to call me back, which is kinda the point of getting a callback.

    I put in the request American Home Shield online and it was easy. However, there needs to be a little bit of a description box. For example, ours was a pool pump but there are several different pumps. It would be very helpful to have a description box in AHS online submittal. Alex Pool Services came out and it went great. There were a couple of claims that I had filed regarding their work and I needed to follow up with AHS on one because AHS denied one claim. They said that there was rodent damage but there was actually none. There was also a bit of a communication issue, but they were right there with evidence that rodents were not the cause of the corrosion. They had a quick follow up and it was all taken care of.

    I had leaky parts in the basement and a bad shutoff valve on one of my water lines. I filed the claim to American Home Shield over the phone and the rep was kinda slow. We had a problem understanding each other. It sounded foreign and seemed to take a lot longer than I thought, but we got through it. Wind Bender Mechanical Services came out. We had them come to our house before for another problem we had a while back. The guy was really nice and knowledgeable. He came in, took pictures of the problem, told me he'd get back with me when they would send in the pictures and make sure everything was authorized so they could send out and get the parts. Then they got back with me to schedule and came in and put the parts in. It's been doing great.

    Whenever it's completed, I realize we had another problem that they could have dealt with. Right by where the guy stopped the leak, the shutoff valve leaks outside a little. I know the outside's not covered, but I can't get to close the shutoff valve inside that shuts off the water to the outside spigot, it still drips a little bit outside. It's too late and I'm not gonna put in another claim for one of them.

    I have an oven that has been in need of repair for over two months. The contracted company came out on three occasions with parts that were ordered and didn't work. He said AHS would contact me for the next step. I have had to contact AHS on each turn and was even hung up upon in the last phone call.     I have had AHS for some time now. Every time I put in a service request it is a battle. I requested service a month ago and still have not gotten anywhere. I was assigned another contractor and the notes say "unable to contact you", well I never got a call or email from the contractor. This is the 3rd time I have requested a repair and 3 times that I just end up canceling my request because they have nobody to come out or it is a huge hassle to get anywhere with these people.     We switched from 2-10 to American Home Shield and we have had nothing but bad experiences with AHS. Last year, it took AHS six months to fix an air conditioning problem because they refused to accept the contractor they chose did not know how to do their jobs. They misdiagnosed the problem several times and finally got the problem fixed after nearly an entire summer of no air conditioning. And we live in GA. It was not comfortable. This year, same issue. The contractor misdiagnosed the problem. Charged us for Freon we did not need in the wrong system. We are currently going through a situation involving a refrigerator. One that is only two years old and one that they themselves installed. Apparently, the lines were not hooked up right which caused a slow leak; of once again, Freon. We will have to pay for that Freon. We are in week two, still no refrigerator.

    The first technician was not certified to do a test, a test they had to call AHS to get permission to perform. It will be a week until the next appointment. Once this problem is solved, I will be ditching AHS and going with another company. They do not do their jobs and any money you pay them means nothing if you have to pay for every little thing the company does to you. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

    I called asking for an address of where I can send a check for a Home Warranty Product. I needed an overnight address because I only have access to FedEx and not to regular mail. I had to speak to several people and was on hold for over 45 minutes and they kept insisting they didn't have an address besides a PO Box. AHS has sent techs to work on it multiple times, and now that the tech has determined that it needs the most expensive part replaced or needs to be replaced entirely, AHS is claiming that the microwave isn't covered. Besides the fact that the entire process has taken WAY too long, my husband has missed time from work to meet with techs and has had to initiate follow up calls. When they all the sudden decided the microwave wasn't covered, did anyone call to update us? NO!! WE HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER A WEEK FROM THE LAST TECH VISIT! My husband called to see what was the hold up and was told they won't be covering it. No supervisor is available to discuss this either. Don't waste your time or money.     We've had our American Home Shield coverage on this particular home since June when we closed. We've used American Home Shield in the past though. Our most recent claim was on the AC. Quality Services came out for it and they were okay. Nothing was poor in regards to the service that we got. When I spoke with one gentleman, he was very abrupt. The second gentleman that came out kind of explained to me what the problem was and told me what he was gonna do, which were fantastic. But, all of a sudden, I get a call saying, "Okay, we're ready to install stuff in your house." I didn't know they were coming out to install things.

    They said they were gonna turn things in and see what was up. Also, they didn't tell me it was gonna cost me $1,200. Nobody told me what it was gonna cost me until I said, "Well, is this gonna cost me anything?" The rep said it's $2,500, and I went, "Time out." The system is technically fine. And in all fairness, they were very prompt, very on top of things, and I didn't have to wait. So in that regard, they were great. Our experience has been pretty much smooth sailing.

    I filed a claim to AHS because the panel on the microwave stopped working, so I was not able to use it. I submitted the claim online and the process was very simple. The contractor that came was efficient. I put the request in on a Friday, he was here on Monday, and it was all five minutes he determined that the part was no longer available, and so he recommended a replacement, not a repair. I ended up calling AHS to get an update on the claim, and we talked through the process and the rep recommended some options. I was also doing my research on the side, and then I was able to quickly pick my option and the process to get the microwave very fast. They sent a whole new microwave and the contractors installed it and that was also a very efficient process.

    It ended up working out, but with American Home Shield and GE, I've had this issue before. I put the claim with American Home Shield, and then I had to wait for GE to call me back. So, GE called me back and then they were like, “Hey, we have somebody coming on on Monday.” There was like some dead space between American Home Shield and GE. So, it's probably more on GE than American Home Shield, but maybe AHS should set some expectations upfront, like, “Someone from GE will be in contact with you.”

    The electrician came and changed the breaker from a 20-amp breaker to a 30, and then, 7-H came out and repaired the dryer, and it has worked perfectly ever since. They did two visits. So, they came out, figured it out what was what and ordered the part. They came back and installed the part. It took a couple days.     Our AC unit was not working. Reep’s Air and Refrigeration came out last year to check it, and added Freon to it. But that didn’t fix the problem. The Freon was leaking out. At that time, we really didn’t have the money to get a new unit and American Home Shield only paid $1,500. I thought they would pay more, but I had to pay out of pocket. Also, we’ve only had the AHS home warranty last year, but the initial monthly cost went up $10 on me.

    We just saved enough and now, we got a new unit. Reep's got it replaced in the first visit. But the rep came back the next day and blew some lines out. He said it was a preventative thing because there were already lines there. He just wanted to make sure there weren’t any trash on anything in the line. With how air conditioner works, it pulls air one way for air and the other way for heat. So, before I can use my heat, they’re gonna have to come back and reverse that. We got a cool house now.

    I typically do claims with American Home Shield online and most of the time, it’s straightforward. It gives me a timeframe of when the contractor is gonna contact me.     American Home Shield has been pretty fair. There were two incidents over all these years. One was the sump pump, and they didn’t replace or fix it because the water from the air conditioner drips in it. And if the water from the air conditioner drips in it then they won’t really service it or won’t change it. And the other incident was the garage door. Boy, oh, boy. They cover one part of it but not the other. But the door can open without the opener. I think what they cover is maybe the door itself, not actually the actual device, or vice versa. I can’t remember now. But I remember I was disappointed in that, but still. Those were the only two. Everything else is just great.

    The gentleman from ATR General that came was polite and knew what he was doing. He tried to fix it first and then he saw that it could not be fixed. I just went and got another one, then he put it in. He’s good and seemed to be a decent guy. I felt comfortable with him in here by myself. Otherwise, some of them I do, some I don’t. But the guy was a very nice young man, very polite and very professional, all about what he was supposed to do. That’s all I asked for.

    The refrigerator wasn’t working and at first, I tried filing a claim online with AHS. But I was not familiar with the online process, so I called them. Then I went back online. They assigned A&R Appliance Repair to my claim and told me that the contractor would be out in five days. Then, we had a first tech who came down and he was a younger guy. Then, the second guy who came out said that he normally is the guy who comes out but he was on vacation at the time. So he was the one who came on the second and third visit. He had to order some more parts because the first tech didn’t and he was really nice. He was also professional and very personable. I liked him and I would call him again.     Rapp’s Heating and AC came out for our plumbing issue. It went perfectly with this claim. The contractor was very professional. Other than putting the little things on their feet like some people do, he came in, I took him to the kitchen, he opened the cabinet, told me what he thought it was, and then, told me that he was gonna run a test and that I could watch the test so I could feel better about it not leaking anymore. He ran the test in front of me then he asked me if I was gonna have the bottom fixed, and I said I was gonna have to. He said it would take a while to dry and that he knows a company that does this, if I wanted his card. I said that would be great.

    I love American Home Shield. I’ve had them for three years. When submitting claims, I prefer to call and actually speak with someone. My interactions with them are always very nice. I’ve never had a person give me an attitude. Even when I called, and I was really upset because something was going on, I’ve never, ever had an issue with them.     We had American Home Shield years ago and then we moved into this house and we also got the warranty. Their people were really nice but we have some issues because United Air Temp didn't find the gas leak. The company that we've been dealing with that installed an air conditioning unit is Snell and they had electronic sniffers. They could still smell the gas and they know where it's coming from. But United couldn't find it. And apparently, the United tech patched up where the leak was with some paste, and Snell told me that it was not a good way to fix it and it is really dangerous. The guy from United seemed like he was a nice guy and he seemed to know what he was talking about. But putting a little bit of soapy water in the valve is a safety issue. We don’t need our house blowing up.

    Snell sent out two technicians to check this out because they also wanna check on their own people to make sure they're not doing anything erroneous. But they said they could smell the gas and the other company couldn't even smell it. Let alone have the electronic gear. The first company couldn't even come out for a day or two, and then another company, we’re waiting for somebody. I'm not thrilled with this because when we come back next Tuesday, we've got company coming in on Thursday. They're staying in the bedroom in our basement, which is where that heating unit is.

    We’ve been in communication with American Home Shield, but it’s just not happening. It’s really cumbersome and there isn't a lot of flexibility. It’s really an inconvenience and having another company, a third company, come out again. And we don’t know who this company is. I was looking at the reviews of this company that’s coming out and they're kinda really mixed. We’d rather go through the company we’re dealing with. They're well-rated and they're stable in our area. Also the fact that they won’t let us just go ahead and do this repair particularly after they provided a visual. And they’ve got a sniffer that lights up when there's gas.

    I had a callback on September 6 for a claim that I filed through American Home Shield and AAA All Brands Appliance came out. The gentleman informed me that there was a leak on the unit outside and he replaced the teeny tiny valve that's probably no bigger than a dime, and he put 3 pounds of Freon in it then said I was fine. I have two units and this and it's the upstairs unit. The same upstairs unit that was not cooling back on September 6 was not cooling again. AAA All Brands came out again because it was within 30 days and the technician informed me that the coil inside the air handler inside the house had three leaks in it. I'm guessing that those three leaks did not happen in 18 days. He was supposedly going to file a report with American Home Shield probably Wednesday because it was 4:30 when he left my house on Wednesday.

    I called American Home Shield today and they informed me that AAA All Brands had not filed the report with them yet and that they would not authorize the repair until they got that report back. I've been trying all day today to contact AAA All Brands. I talked to someone this morning. She said that the dispatch had sent the report. But I said no they did not because I just talked to American Home Shield and they didn't have it. She proceeded to tell me that they will try again later this afternoon. I told her that wasn't acceptable because it's currently 82 degrees in my upstairs in my house. It's been that way all week. At this rate, it's gonna be another week before the part gets ordered and installed.

    American Home Shield still doesn't have the report and I don't know how to get the report to them because I can't get a hold of the company because conveniently, their phones are down now. Needless to say that I'm a little upset is an understatement. I'm pretty sure if he would have checked inside on the 6th, we wouldn't be in this position today. American Home Shield can't help it and I don't have a problem with them because I know that there's a process. They can't do that process if their vendor doesn't give them the stuff that they need to do that process with. I'm a little ticked off at the vendor.

    My husband will be home today from being out of town all week and he won't have it. All of our bedrooms are upstairs. I live in Orlando. It's 80 something. Thankfully, it is cooling down here at night so that the unit isn't running all night long. It's trying to keep up and it does shut off eventually. My husband said we just have the vendor get the part. But I told him that was not the point. They can't get the part because American Home Shield has to order the part. They can't order the part without getting a report from the vendor. I called the number for AAA All Brands and it's rolling to their Coral Springs, Florida office. The girl that answered the phone was nice enough to send an email to the Orlando office to let them know that I needed that report filed in order for them to finish the claim. I'm hoping that her email is getting addressed.

    This is the third time that AAA All Brands had been to my house so they know the deal and they know how it works. But I can't get anywhere because one says they send it and the other one says they don't have it. I can't find out and I'm just at my wit's end for the day. It's rolling into the weekend so nothing can happen this weekend. The claim is still open claim with American Home Shield.

    The icemaker wasn’t making ice. I spoke with representatives at AHS to file a claim and they were horrendous. They were from another country, they didn’t understand and I didn’t like dealing with them. But the contractor who came out was good. He came three times, though it wasn’t his fault. When he came, he had the part that he thought he needed to resolve the problem, but it turned out that the icemaker still wasn’t making ice. So we had to call them again. Things didn't go smoothly, but that was fine and the icemaker has been working since the service.

    We also had an experience with the washer and dryer. The washing machine would stop at increments or seven minutes. But normally, it would stop at 28 minutes. It would get stuck there for 10 or 15 minutes and would just keep going back and forth, but it would not move past that. So, we called someone and he came and said that that was normal. But I didn’t believe that was normal because a 45 minute wash cycle shouldn’t take an hour and a half. Unfortunately, I had to accept that at that time.

    Then a few weeks later, it happened again and he came back. He again said that it was normal for this kind of washing machine. At the time, I had a contact person for a little while. I called them and they sent out an independent person who didn’t know why they were coming out again. And I had the same problem but no one was willing to fix it. They were never gonna order a new motherboard or something because it’s all electronic and computerized But lo and behold, I had to buy a new washer and dryer and AHS only gave me $200. I have no idea how they arrived at that but that’s not my area of expertise and I didn’t know how to argue. But I spent almost 1,600 for a new washer and dryer. Other than that, we had a problem as well with the air conditioning and they didn’t call us back until five days later.

    I've been with American Home Shield for about three months, but I was with their sister company before for 18 years. Before when we had a problem, we never had a problem submitting a claim. We had an appliance issue and that was our recent claim. It went great. Direct Appliance Repair came out, and they were able to resolve the issue. I called and they scheduled an appointment. The tech showed up, he looked at the equipment, found what was wrong with the appliance, and he was able to fix it within less than an hour.

    I went into American Home Shield's customer portal and submitted a service request when the air conditioner stopped working. The contractor called the next day, which was a Saturday. When they came out, they were competent and polite. They were in and out quick. But I had a less than pleasant experience with the last claim that I had. My refrigerator went out and they sent a service technician out relatively quickly, but he determined it was gonna need special-order parts, and it was gonna take several weeks to get the parts and we needed another technician out.

    I went on to the website, and I chatted with somebody about the claim, and asked them if I could just buy new appliance, and then have them reimburse me for whatever they’d pay for repairs. And the person on the chat said that was fine. But when I went and bought the new appliance and submitted it for reimbursement, they denied it because it wasn’t approved. They directed me to whatever their official dispute process was. But they denied it, and I never got any reimbursement for the appliance. But most of the time, American Home Shield was easy to deal with. Everything was fine except for the previous claim.
