I just started with American Home Shield about a month ago, and it was nice to be able to call somebody to take care of what had to be taken care of. The icebox warped the floor so I called them and they got right to it. I had somebody at my house within a couple of hours. The guy knew what to do as soon as he walked in the door. It seemed like he had seen stuff like this before. I watched him work and I can do it myself next time. The icebox has been doing excellent since the repair. I just have to check with them, because I already gave the $100 upfront on a credit card, but then I got a notice on the telephone that I still owe them. Other than that, it was a great experience.

IRH Plumbing came out recently for the water heater which rotted. I had called American Home Shield, spoke with a rep and it was good. They didn't call back quite as soon because it was a weekend, but the contractor that came was very professional. From the time I filed the claim, it was very quick. I had hot water again by Tuesday night, and it's good to have a shower again.

For two years that I've been with AHS, any claims that I’ve submitted to them has been very easy to deal with. AHS is very responsive, so I really appreciate it. Their website was very easy to navigate. I recently went online to file a claim for my garbage disposal. When I turned it on, it made a lot of noise and when I looked in there, I pulled a piece out of the blade, so I figured it was broken. The contractor that was sent out was awesome. He explained everything that he was doing and he talked to me about the new garbage disposal that he was putting in. He was very friendly and informative. He got everything completed within 24 hours and the new garbage disposal is working great.

We had a rainstorm that happened last week, and the temperatures dropped really fast overnight, so we put on our heat. We thought the heat had been done, but what had happened was our gas line had been shut off because they were doing road work in our area. I thought we had turned it back on, but we had not. We called American Home Shield because we thought something was up with our unit. Also, I got an email from AHS about the $75 tune-up to get ready for winter. I called other places prior and they were more expensive. So we called AHS and within 30 minutes, they had it scheduled. And then the gentleman from Myers came out, and he saw that it would run, but there was no gas going to it. So, it was just air coming out. It was just a $75 tune-up that we had. I was very pleased with them.

The AC wouldn’t come on at all and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield for that a while back. The contractor got there and asked a few questions, then he got down to where the heat pump was and went right to the problem. He was done in a short amount of time and I was happy with the service.

We’ve been having a problem for a long time and we just didn’t realize to what extent. We thought something was wrong with the toilet and all the fittings, but it ended up being my floor was uneven. Had I not had the contractor come out, I would have never known that. So, he was able to fix our problems and he said we shouldn’t have anymore. He was very professional and knowledgeable. It was great. I’ve only had to use American Home Shield twice, when I first moved in, and then 10 years later. So far, I’m very happy with them. They are on the spot. When I have a question, I can call and ask them. I’ve called and asked them on other things just to verify my coverage and I don’t have any problems with them. I plan on staying with them.

So far, the American Home Shield website has been pretty easy to deal with and I've been pleasantly surprised. It gives you the contact and the phone number almost right away. I had an old pipe underneath my kitchen sink that recently had to be replaced. The guy from Greenway came out, realized what he needed, and he and his boss came back two days later, spent a couple of hours and replaced it. I can finally use my dishwasher and don’t have to wash dishes by hand.

My experience with AHS is good. When I needed something, I could schedule anything online without calling them. And, that’s the easy part. Our recent claim was for a washer. We saw the water was dripping from the front door. So, we thought it might be some leak. I went online and submitted the claim request to AHS. I got an email from AHS. And, the service company was going to contact me. But I called them because I needed the service, so I could get an escalated request. The contractor came here the second day. He gave the next day appointment itself because they have the slots available. So, it was done very quickly. But it was not a leak, but it was something we had to with the place. It was a very minor thing. So, he explained how things work. It was very good.
I have two properties. For both properties, the contract is with American Home Shield. I have one comment though because there is a standard $100 service fee we had to pay. The contractor just came there and he showed that I didn’t do that cleaning. Apart from my monthly fee, if I am scheduling a service, that $100 I thought is a bit expensive. I compared it with other industries and different companies, when they offer the same service, they don’t do the $100 deductibles. If it is a major repair, I can understand. But for such kind of things, I think that $100 is expensive. I was talking to my friends and they said, “Oh, man. There are some other companies.” And they said they don’t pay any deductible for anything. They just come and do the service, and they just go.

American Home Shield's online process is quick and easy, though I wish that they would give an option to select the company that it gets assigned to. For example, I had to open two different claims related to our refrigerator and I got assigned to two different companies each time, and I just wanted to stick with the company that had come out the first time since they were familiar with our location. I had to call and see if I could get it reassigned.
We've had work on our refrigerator, our dishwasher and our HVAC. I've had good experience where I hang up the phone or submit the online request and within an hour, I have somebody calling to get something on the schedule. The very first time, we had an issue with the HVAC and I felt like I played phone tag and could not even get a hold of anyone for two weeks. It was ridiculous. I left messages and had zero luck. It was an outside unit before, and now we have a leak from our upstairs unit. The claim is still pending and I'm waiting on a part to be installed. They called to schedule the install, but I was expecting a call from a doctor and it came in while I was on the phone with them, and it's on me now to get back in touch with them.

The contractor was supposed to put in a heater that was the same BTU as the original but they put in one that was too big for the existing pipes. More BTU would have more output and realizing that early on would've been very helpful. The heater wasn't tremendously larger but they are very sensitive and if there's not an adequate flow of gases for safety reasons, then it doesn't turn on.
The heater wouldn't work when they put it in, and one of the technicians saw a part that he didn't think worked, so he replaced the part. Then, he noticed that the heater was not working and he decided that it was because they needed a three-inch pipe. The two-inch pipes weren't wide enough, circumference-wise, to take away the gases as they're supposed to. I had to get my carpenter and somebody should have paid to have him open up the ceiling so that the contractor could accommodate the new pipes, which took a couple of visits. The new pipes are in, the heater works, and now I'm waiting for my carpenter to come and put in all the ceiling pieces back together.

Two months ago, Home Shield sent Sears Home Services for my washer. They kept saying they had to order a part and it took over two weeks to get it fixed. They changed the motherboard and now it’s doing the same thing again. They needed to come back back out for the service again so I gotta file another claim. On the other hand, On Time Plumbing & Heating came for backup plumbing and they did good. My wife said it went great. I filed the claim on a Tuesday or Wednesday and the technician showed up on Friday. He took care of everything in one day and everything still works.

Whenever we went to turn the heater on, you could hear it would start its sequence, but then it would just shut off. And then it was doing some other weird things with the thermostat. Submitting the claim to American Home Shield went very easy with no problems at all. So I was very happy with that. Grady’s came out and checked the heater. The tech said there was some part in the attic that was bad. He also changed the thermostat in the hallway because he said if you bumped it, the battery would lose power. So, they went ahead and changed the thermostat and that other piece up there. They got it done just in time for the major cold spell that we had the very next day. It worked out very well.
The technician was great. His name was William, and he explained everything. They had to get the part from Webster, which is about 20 miles from here. They had someone over there already, so they picked the part up and brought it back. He did another heater check, and then they came back with the part and installed it. American Home Shield does an excellent job. They stand behind what they sold us as far as a warranty. They get someone out here within 24 hours to check it out and try to get it taken care of. So, I’m very pleased with it. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I sell real estate so I sell a home warranty with every house. Now, when I sell home warranties, AHS is all I sell. If a friend would ask about AHS, I'd give them AHS's number for them to call and get one.

Our toilet kept running and running. Submitting claims to AHS has been so simple but then we don't get to talk to a live person. It's a little impersonal. Still, their process is quick. They give me the name and the number of the contractor who will be coming out. For my toilet claim, they sent Loyalty Home Services out to do service. Their techs were wonderful. I would like to know if I could request a certain plumber or electrician to come out via AHS. I’ve been with American Home Shield for 20 years and it’s okay but I don’t like the cost. It’s high at 75 bucks every visit and now, the monthlies are way up there at 55 bucks a month. We went out and bought a washer-dryer set to get a new one in the house. AHS replaced it once and the new one would break down every two weeks. It had always worked but you had to fight it to make it work, which was not the way it was supposed to be done. Our washing machine was suffering bad and we had the contractor out three times but AHS wouldn't upgrade it because they thought they could make it work. They kept fixing it as well as billing it. They finally gave us a stipend for the washing machine, so we got a little bit for that but they said the dryer was working good enough and they didn’t do anything for it.

AAA All Brands Appliance was dispatched out for the AC, which wasn’t coming on. It was working on the thermostat, but the vent outside wasn’t coming on to click it. I did the claim online and I liked that I didn’t have to sit on the phone and call somebody at that moment to ask for service. American Home Shield told me that I should hear something within 24 hours, and the first contractor called within 30 minutes and we scheduled the appointment. However, they didn’t work on my type of unit so I had to wait for another person to come, which was a little bit annoying. Before they call me to schedule, they should know which unit I have. I had to wait another couple of days to get someone else to come.
The second person AHS sent over was horrible. They kept contacting through text and I kept wanting to talk to someone. I would send out texts wanting to talk to a live person and I wouldn’t get that. They were way too busy for what I needed. And they gave me a huge eight-hour window. But the third company that came was great. The tech called me and then we were able to set it up. I would still recommend AHS to friends.
Hi Jenny,

I don't have any problems with American Home Shield, but canceled from my service because I bought the house and replaced all the appliances in the house. The only thing that were old were the air conditioning systems and both systems were replaced with some help from American Home Shield. And then I had this leak in the sink. I called AHS for 75 bucks to come out and fix that, and I said, "Why am I paying $500 a year when I'm under manufacturer's warranty for everything?" I have some good contractors now, thus the AC contractor I'll follow up with and have them do my tune-ups and everything, and then I've got a plumber now that I can call directly. So, I've got local folks I can rely on that know my house.
But I like the fact that AHS sends out for things like 75 bucks for tune-ups or 75 bucks program to clean out the dryer vent, although the dryer vent guy, I jumped on that and he said, "Well, it bends through the roof, we can't do it if it bends through the roof," and I said, "Oh, you should have said that in your thing." So, that was useless to me, but it was fine. It served its purpose for when I bought the house. It gave me that year of getting one air conditioner one.
And then the other air conditioner was a little bit challenging in the fact that when you do an AC system, they say, "Well, here's what we'll pay. Oh, by the way, but to bring everything up to code, that's gonna be two grand out of pocket for you, or three grand out of pocket for you." So I got $1,000 off, and then this last one, they wanna replace the whole system, and only the furnace was bad, so I ended up getting the cash for 750 bucks. I spent 6,500 to do the whole system, and I got 750 back from American Home Shield, and they could have done it all anyway. They were gonna say, "By the time you bring it up to code, it's gonna be two grand out of your pocket." So, I'm like, "I'm in for two, I might as well be in for 6,500, give me 750, and then we'll call it quits."
If you have a brand new house that you just bought and everything is new and you have the manufacturer's warranty I don't think the warranty adds a lot of value. But if you're buying an old house, it has some things that are over 10 years old for that first year while you figure it out, I'd buy it, or I'd definitely let the seller buy it for me.
Shannon.

Everything has been pretty efficient when I submit a claim to Home Shield. It's very nice to do claims online. I find it easy because I’m a truck driver and I have tenanted houses. So it gives me the ability to set it up without even picking the phone up or speaking to anyone. And then I can just phone or text my tenant so that they can make the necessary appointment, and it leaves me out of the loop. But you can also call and they will send you a notification of the contractor’s name and number so that you could set an appointment. It works pretty well. And then once they contractor is done, Home Shield asks for a survey on how their service contractor behaved and whether they were prompt and finished the job. So, they’re doing very well.
Most of the time that I had plumbing issues, Home Shield sends Reliable to me, who are very prompt and pretty good at what they do. They're doing several jobs for us. They’ve done the air conditioning, old plumbing issues, and clogged drains. They’ve also replaced a couple of water heaters. They normally get to the job pretty quickly, and they sort it out first-time fix. Always been taking care of their appointments. I’m pretty happy with them. They do a pretty god job. They have to liaise with my tenant to get access and they seem to be a pretty well-established company. I’m pretty happy with American Home Shield because I built four properties, and they look after all of them. They fix anything from a ceiling fan, to a refrigerator, to a blocked drain, to plumbing issues.
I’ve only had one callback to a job on a washing machine, which the contractor came and said that we needed a new one. The parts were too expensive to repair it. So, on one of my properties, Home Shield provided an air conditioning unit at no charge to me. They also provided a washing machine at a discounted price. And you get the chance to pick it. You get their discounts that they have and they will deliver it.
American Home Shield is pretty good from my point of view because if they can’t fix it, they replace it. It’s pretty good value for money. Also, if the problem was not fixed, you can call them within the guarantee period, and then they’ll send the contractor out again if there’s anything else. So, I’ve had pretty good experiences with them. I’ve been with them for quite a number of years, and I’ve not had any problems with American Home Shield or any of the contractors that they’ve sent out. They seem to be pretty responsive, and they generally will fix most thing first time.

I do my claims with AHS online because it's faster and easier than over the phone. I had an intermittent issue with the heater on my pool, and it acted okay when the contractor AHS sent was there. He cleaned it up and then left, and it was working. He did what he was supposed to do. But a few days later the heater stopped working. I’m trying to figure out what makes it work and not work, and get the contractor out again. I’m gonna see what American Home Shield will do. If they will call him out again and squeeze me for another 75 bucks.
Good afternoon Alfred,
Thank you for your feedback, I apologize that the heater has stopped working. You do have a 60 day recall period under your AHS warranty. I have submitted a recall to Brent's Pool Repair and there will not be another $75 service fee due for them to go back out to your home. Have an awesome day!

I prefer to do my claims online with AHS. It’s a pretty easy website. And the contractors, so far, have been fine. But when we had an issue with the pool equipment we had a ridiculous Chinese fire drill of getting people out here. The first electrician that was sent out to do it didn’t due his due diligence and check everything. It was really inconvenient and right during the height of swimming season. And in Texas, it’s really hard to keep your pool clear if you’re not circulating. We went through that for at least a month until finally they sent a different guy out with the electrician who said, “Mmm, it’s the panel, and somebody didn’t check this.” The guy was able to fix it and we went on from there.
And to be fair with any home warranty you have to have the right expectation. Most people have problem with expectation. I know that my husband does. You could still end up with a pretty sizeable bill that you have to pay, like we did with our air conditioner. But they are gonna fix it until it explodes, or disintegrates, or they can no longer have parts ordered for it and fixed. Despite different stream of visits, if it’s all on one service call, you’re only gonna pay the one time fee. Just like with our pool, we paid the one time when they came out with the electrical and that was all covered. But if you’re talking about getting it fixed down the road, three months or whatever something breaks, you’re gonna pay another $75.
Obviously, that’s how they make their money and I get that. But it’s frustrating when you expect more coverage than you’re getting. It’s a problem with expectation and results. But we’ve been really happy with a couple of things. With our pool for instance, aside for that one initial problem, we’ve been pretty happy with how it works. The pool claim has been pretty straightforward.
The air conditioner is always an issue. It’s like, “Oh, yeah, we’ll come out. All of this is covered, but you need eight units of Freon. Well, that’s gonna be $600, because we only cover $10 of each unit.” At one point, we had a $1,500 bill when it came to our air conditioner and it was because of the things that were not fixable or were not covered. So, was it a lot less than if we had hired somebody on our own? Yes, it was. You just kinda have to be able to balance your expectations with the reality of what you’re really getting, and that it is a better deal if you use it. Like we’ve got a 23-year-old house and we bought it last year, and it’s got older -- the air conditioner is definitely older and all that kind of stuff, and we’ve been able to get it fixed every time. But nine times out of ten, when we’ve called, there has been a larger charge for us besides the $75 visit fee.
It was really funny because as we moved into this house and had our first disappointment, they ran a thing on the news. And it was like, “Holy cow, that’s exactly what happened to us.” And that’s what it boils down to is that it’s all expectation and what is actually covered. People think that it covers everything and all I’ll ever have to pay is $75, and that is just not true. And so knowing what I know, I have a very low expectation. I expect it to get fixed, but I don’t expect my air conditioner to get replaced anymore.

I recently needed the lid to my washer replaced as the plastic pieces were breaking off. I made the claim through American Home Shield and they assigned River City to come out. I talked to an actual person both at the warranty and at River City, and River City contacted me within 15 minutes. It was a simple fix. The tech just needed to order the part and come in and install it. He was in and out in 10 minutes. I had the same issue about three months ago, and I had to call again and repay a service fee for the exact same issue and the exact same repair. Essentially, I had to pay for it two different times within a three or four month period. I was just outside of the warranty window, and it was a brand-new washer lid that was replaced. It was an easy experience and the issue got fixed, but I was disappointed with having to pay for the same thing within a matter of four months.

My furnace would click on and click off. When it makes the connection, it would blow cold air for hours. When my husband called AHS, they made him pay the $106 copay. They sent All Temperature Heating & Cooling who was trying to come right away but couldn't 'cause of our work schedules. All Temperature was very prompt and called me when their tech was on his way.
When their tech came, the problem didn't happen. We turned the heat up and the furnace came on. It was a million degrees in the house and everybody was happy. He also cleaned some of my stuff and checked the thermostat to make sure that it was working. He explained what everything was and he was very friendly, helpful and professional. He stayed for half an hour and told me that I'm under a 60-day warranty and that if the problem happens again, I should call AHS and they would send the claim back to them. Within 2 days, we had the same problem. I told the techs from All Temperature that I would video the issue with my phone. Now, they're coming back on Thursday as it is the only day I could be home for a few hours from work.

We had a garbage disposal issue, which turned out to be something extremely minor. It just had something in the garbage disposal making a noise. That was fixed. We have never owned a house like this before, and we upgraded about 300% when we bought this house from the house we lived in for 25 years. And she wanted a professional to look at it. We had American Home Shield, so we called them. They came out.
We also had an issue with the pipes and they changed some of the valves out. They put what's known as an expansion tank on the hot water heater, which was kind of upsetting because that wasn't covered under American Home Shield. We had to pay for that. But the garbage disposal thing was paid for. We had an air conditioner problem as well, and we used American Home Shield for that too. Submitting claims with AHS is the normal internet stuff, and I'm pretty much internet illiterate. It takes me a little bit, but other than that, we're good. I've spoken with the contractors on the phone. They seemed like good old boys and normal everyday people. AHS did their job. They didn't do me wrong anywhere.

American Home Shield sent out Donnie’s Electric, Plumbing, and Heating & Air and their tech did the garbage disposal. The tech had a flat tire on his truck and he got here on the flat. He was a really nice young man who was very polite, efficient, and clean. He did a wonderful job and everything went great. A new garbage disposal had to be put in. The tech got under the cabinet because the whole bottom of my little garbage disposal was leaking around all the screws. He got all the mess cleaned up, got it out and put the new one in. It’s working like a charm. I've been with AHS for nine years and I will definitely renew with them next year. By then, I'll pay the 75 instead of the 100. I love it.

I submitted my claim online on a Sunday and I was surprised that I got a call within the next hour from American Home Shield as quickly as I did the filing. K & S Plumbing Services also called right away and the guy came like he said he was, actually coming a little bit before he was supposed to arrive. He was very thorough, listened to everything that I had to say, and then checked everything. There was a clogged drain and he stayed there long enough until he found it. He was able to finish everything on that day and he was even nice enough to say that if it occurred again within 30 days then I could give them a call back and they will come back out. But I've never had a problem since then. So, if I had any other issues and had to use them again, I would particularly ask for him. That claim experience went great and I was very pleased.

I've been with American Home Shield for three months. Their reps were really easy to talk to, but the people that they use are not very reliable. They try to upsell stuff when they come out. When I had a problem with the garage doors, they tried to sell me new springs. They came out to fix the motor, but it was never fixed. I tried to call them to get it back and I just ended up buying new garage door openers and installing them myself. Even though I had them come out to try to take care of the problem, it just wasn’t worth the hassle. The plumbing issue I had filed was my second claim with AHS and their contractor didn’t show up so I ended up cancelling the service with them, and I’m waiting for the refund check to come in.

The motherboard of our furnace broke. I went online and there was an email that said on September 19th, the job was completed. But DMC never came until September 27th to diagnose the problem and said it needed a part. It was very frustrating. I deserved a callback. I called everyday from the 14th until the day that they did finally arrive. I was told by a rep from a call center to speak with Denise. Denise never called back. I emailed them also, never got a return email, no response or whatever. While I was on the line with American Home Shield, two other girls also called DMC. But they never called them back, Denise didn’t answer their call either.
Finally, I got a call from the service repair guy, and he said, “Are you available today?” I said, “Yes.” And they went and they did it. AHS works out pretty well. I’m pretty confident with them, but this is the second time it’s happened with DMC. The other time, it was in the summer last year with the air conditioning, and it was another problem with Denise. So, if I have a furnace problem again, I will have to somehow ask American Home Shield not to send them out again. I won’t deal with them again. American Home Shield should come down on them and get them to either provide that service or drop them.

I have two claims with American Home Shield. The most recent one was for my sink which had fallen off the granite. I spoke to a person and she was great but it was hard for me to understand her. I couldn't explain to her what was wrong with the sink. And I think that was a reason why we got the wrong person out. The contractor was a plumber and he wasn't able to fix the problem and then he left. He wasn't even here for five minutes. He just walked into the kitchen, looked at the issue and said he would make a report back to American Home Shield and somebody was gonna call me. But nobody else came out and the problem is still not fixed.
I haven't been able to wash dishes all week, and that's pretty difficult. We need somebody out here to fix it as soon as possible. The other claim was for the refrigerator. Its latch is broken so it doesn't shut properly. It just keeps popping open. The contractor addressed it and he ordered the part, but he hasn't come back to fix it yet. I'm totally stressed with how these claims are right now but my experience with American Home Shield is definitely a 5-star for everything.

It was time to clean the drain of the AC so the water can flow and drain out of the drain pan. It was filling up the drain pan, and the drain pan was overflowing, so the water was coming out of the AC. Originally, when the first company was supposed to come, they were supposed to clean out the junk in there so the flow can go back. The company sent some guy out there, and he didn't even attempt to go out. He just automatically went into saying that he needed to order a secondary or emergency piece that was gonna cost $800. It was a horrible experience.
I called American Home Shield and I explained to the rep the issue I was having. He rectified it by sending another company out to see if I would get the same response or the same diagnosis than the other one. When he sent Phil's Good out, they identified it. So, I appreciate that he sent someone else because I could have been stuck with $800 bill. He went above and beyond for me. He listened and understood what I was trying to explain.
When Phil's Good came out, the tech said that the first guy didn't clean out the tube right. We were missing a piece as far as installation. So, it went back to further than the request I was actually going for. He identified my main problem was I was missing a piece which was preventing the flow of the water out of the AC. So, they fixed it, and it wasn’t the $800 piece that the first company was telling me I needed to get. Phil’s Good did amazing. The tech explained why I was having these issue because I’ve called about the same issue once a year for the last two or three years, and everyone just told me the piece that I needed to buy, which fluctuates as far as the price between 600 and $1,000, but nobody was actually fixing the issue other than Phil's Good.
The only issue that I had was with American Home Shield's after hours. When it’s the out-of-the-country people over there that takes the call after hours, they are not trying to listen. They just kept saying, “Well, we’ll have somebody call back.” And I waited for two days but I never received a call. I had called back and gotten the other guy that I spoke to. When I actually had someone on the phone from the after hour people, they put me on hold for two hours. One person hung up, and I had to call back. But other than that, American Home Shield did great.

There was something wrong with the air conditioning, which was due to the heater and the first time I called to submit a claim, American Home Shield said they didn’t cover that. That didn’t seem right so I called back again and asked to speak to a supervisor, and they said it was covered. When the contractor came, there were certain parts that AHS didn’t cover so we had to pay out of pocket because we didn’t have time to wait a week for them to get parts. They fixed it, then we paid them for the part instead of waiting for AHS to approve anything. They wouldn't have approved it anyway. They don’t approve very many things.
I got AHS in case something happens and for something major like a washing machine and a dryer. I’ve been with AHS for about a year and I’ve only called a couple of times. They should be more elaborate on their contracts. The garage door springs broke and AHS didn’t cover springs so I had to pay for the guy to come out, and then I had to pay on top of that to get my springs replaced.

My AC wasn’t cooling so Flowertown Heating & Air was assigned by Home Shield to come out. However, they could not come out in the time that we needed them to and they were delayed. I had two sick animals—my cat that was about to die and our dog that has heartworms and can barely breathe—and it was hot in the house. Our cat had been to the hospital and on the IVs twice right before that, so it was a critical time for our AC to go out. So, Home Shield told us we could go and purchase an AC unit for that area that they were staying in and that they would refund us up to $125 for it. We then got one of those portable units that was able to keep them comfortable and keep our dog breathing the way that he should until the company could come and get our AC cooling again. Then, I received a refund from Home Shield for that.
The technicians from Flowertown eventually came out and they were great. We found out that the AC was low on Freon, so they gave us the Freon that we needed. And it was low a little bit more, so I had to pay more. All in all, American Home Shield is always really good at getting someone over to take care of whatever problems we have.

It was like 75 degrees, but we could tell with 98 degrees, it was gonna be bad the next day. Advanced Heating & Air Conditioning got right on it and came out. It was just a capacitor which was a small piece to fix, and the tech replaced it because it rusted out. Everything was fine and he was a very nice gentleman. We even gave them the code to our garage door, so we didn't have to be there. He said, "You can go on back to work if you're comfortable." I said, "Sure. I have no reason to doubt you." They're from New Albany, which is only about 12 miles away. They've been to our house a couple times for the air conditioner.

However, we're still having issue with the refrigerator and that has been going on for two months now. It's a very old refrigerator and it keeps freezing inside both the refrigerator and the freezer. It's leaking and freezing, which is weird. And we've had four different contractors who tried to figure it out. I had American Home Shield when I had my first home many years ago and I wanted to get it on this house. Now, we've been with them for two years and everything that we've had has gone well. When the contractors came out to replace the washer and the faucet, they missed one, but I had a few that I didn't have scheduled anyway, so I just need to have them come back out and do those. I just have to have time. Also, when our AC was not blowing any cold air at all, I reached out. Since A-US Air Conditioning came before, this was their second visit out for the same issue. I had no problem with any of the technicians, but I was really taken by the rude and curtness of the conversation with the gentleman who called me back.
As I was revisiting with him what was shared with us, he was just trying to hold my feet to the fire that he was certainly the man of knowledge and I didn't understand why all of that was necessary. He said that I kept talking over him and I explained that I was talking over him because what he was saying didn't make sense and I was confused why he was having this hard, fast rule about what transpired when he wasn't here. All I was saying to him was what was shared with me and it was not plausible that he could tell me anything that occurred.
I said, "Let's just agree to disagree and then why don't we just disconnect the call" and he was doing it again, so I told him to have a nice day and hung up the phone then I sent a message to the guy who initially came and left us his contact information. I told him I'm not sure what's going on or why this guy called with such rudeness. I was flabbergasted that we had to have a negative conversation about an air conditioner. He had something to do on the company's side, but he told me not to worry and said the company will assign someone, so we didn't worry about it.
The gentleman is going to see if the part can be found and if it will fix the unit, versus doing the upgrade, which will require a litany of things, and our out-of-pocket will be $1,800. Since I work in insurance and I understand how these things work, I reached out to American Home Shield and asked how paying for the repairs would work as it relates to our warranty or would we be on any violation. We were told we would have to show proof that we paid a licensed person to do the repair work and then all would be well. All in all, American Home Shield is good to have. There are some little nuances, but in the grand scheme of things, it's been a great experience.

It took time for AHS to ship it in but he fixed the problem. So, the experience was good. So far, everything is working good. We’re happy with AHS.

The guy from CNJ Services was one fantastic dude. He was very quick and got right down to the problem. I had a clogged-up sink for a month and a half and kept trying to run snakes. I kept using stuff and it would break it up, and it would go down for a day and a half, and then it would start backing up again. The snakes that they had on it went down through and cleared up the mess. And that was the first time I’ve had a plumber here since I purchased this place in 1987. He was in and out here in 20 minutes. I was very impressed. I haven’t had any problems with this since that guy was out here. I was also very impressed by how quickly American Home Shield got somebody out here. I’m extremely happy.

We had a service call for our central air. It started out with AHS sending out BPM. A gentleman from there came out. He checked the outside unit and he said the motor went bad. That was what needed to be replaced. He was supposed to come back the next day but he ended up not coming back until Monday or Tuesday the following week. He replaced the motor out there. The thing is he didn’t even bother checking anything when he was first here like the inside unit upstairs in the attic. He did just the one with the motor. We also didn’t see him use anything to test the unit to confirm whatever was wrong.
Even after replacing the motor of the outside unit, it still wouldn’t work so he then went upstairs into the attic and checked the unit up there. He came back down and he showed my husband a picture of a motor. The squirrel cage on the motor was completely black and coated with mold. I don’t know where he got that picture from because my husband went up and looked at it but he didn’t see any mold the way that the picture showed. The tech said he would have to get in touch with AHS because he didn’t know if it was covered or not so he could replace that.
It took us calling back into American Home Shield to find out what was going on. We went for two weeks without the central air. The hardest part of Texas is in the summer. It was pretty ridiculous. When AHS said the unit was not covered because of the mold, I got that. That was part of the contract. But we didn't like BPM at all and their tech's diagnosis so we wanted a second opinion. AHS sent out All Pro. Their tech went up and looked at the unit. He said our motor just went bad and he replaced it. It took a while for them to get the new motor in but everything has worked great since. From the time the problem happened to the time it was actually fixed, it took two weeks. And I don’t blame AHS for that. I blame BPM and the rip-off tech though.
We purchased our home in February and American Home Shield was recommended. Everything was great with them although we had to call back in to find out what the status was. There was also the fact that we were gonna have to pay for the second motor upstairs. To me, that communication should’ve been forthcoming from AHS. We should not have had to call in and find out.

In that type of situation, you need somebody immediately.

Outside unit evacuated all freon. Had to take all day off work to accommodate repair. Finally arrived after 8pm. Tech stated that he could solder repair and put all new freon at approximately $500 out of pocket, as AHS only covers $10 per pound of freon and we needed 9 pounds, Tech stated that unit needed replacing as it was only a question of when, not if, this would happen again.
After many calls with a call center who had no understanding of the issue and kept repeating a script that did not apply to our situation, was told that they would not replace unit and if it failed again would not guarantee that it would be replaced, but rather would keep charging us to refill with freon, as it is a cheaper repair for AHS, but not the homeowner. Got independent evaluations from FOUR companies and all said the unit was not advisable to repair. Paid $800 for a home warranty that is basically useless. Very disappointed.

After many calls and most of my day on HOLD I was told they do not have any contractors available and that I am being place in "QUEUE" the weekend or on emergency basis. They offered an outside vendor authorization.
I did this with my daughters home warranty in August of this year with this American Home Warranty and have been trying to get my $3000 since (3 Months) back so I declined the outside authorization. American Home Warranty has terrible communications. No one calls you back and you spend hours on hold trying to get answers!!! I submitted a claim to AHS because I had a light that would not work. When I turn it on, sometimes it would smoke. The fan part has a separate light switch and it worked, but not the light itself. The contractor that came was very nice. He told me that he saw the trouble immediately when he took the plate off, so he replaced it and that was it. It didn’t take long at all.
I've been with AHS for two years now. The first time they fixed my toilet, it still runs and they’ve come out three times since then. There were two young men that came and they changed something in the tank itself. And then the last time, their supervisor came and he was very rough, not very nice. He told me that was what it was supposed to do. It was supposed to fill back up. I also thought my washer and dryer were on the AHS plan, but when the washing machine leaked, I learned that my washing machine wasn’t on there. I was a little disappointed.

There was water in the floor base. I noticed that it was nowhere near my tub. I also noticed that my bathroom door was starting to swell, and it does not close at all anymore. AHS sent IRH Plumbing and it was determined that the valves in my shower were leaking. Apparently, this has been happening all year. So I can just imagine what kind of damage is behind that wall now.
I live in a condo and the building has this plumber that we normally go to because they know the building better than any other random plumber. So I called them and they told me what was the issue and the price. And I remembered I had this Home Shield and I wondered if this was covered. So I called AHS and the rep let me know that it was covered.
Their contractor was very professional. He was a really nice guy. The only thing that was not good was he didn’t know our building that well, because he is a new plumber that has never worked in our building. I didn’t know where to turn the valve off so we tried to figure it out together. It was unfortunate that he did not know our building so it was a little harder on him. And that was why I was asking the representative at Home Shield if we could pick up our own vendor. I guess not. But overall the experience with that plumber was really, really great. I even got better water pressure.

We had American Home Shield previously but currently, we have two homes under them. I usually do the claims on the phone and for the most part, that works fairly good. They would call and sometimes, I would get one of the schedulers who wouldn’t give me the number of the contractor. So, when Family called us, it was good. Previously, when I called and had a problem with an AC and they assigned it to somebody else, they didn’t call me. So, I never knew when they were coming or what their schedule was or how long it was gonna be. So, it was kinda a little bit hit-and-miss on the people answering the phone with regards to how responsive they are.
We had an AC problem and when I put in a claim to American Home Shield, it was on a Saturday and the contractor called us within a couple hours. They said they would see us on Monday and try to come earlier. Then, they texted us on Monday and said they were gonna be here in 45 minutes. The technician came and he was very professional. I had a leak in the condenser pan of my AC. Due to the heat, the pipe had broken off and it leaked into our ceiling. Usually, AHS, fights back on everything. They always tell me nothing's covered or my place is not up to code. So, I end up paying out of pocket more than I care to. I submitted a claim for the AC issue I was having and this time, I was 100% satisfied.
Last year though, my coil went out and I had it replaced. I paid nearly $1000 for the Freon, and that coil broke this year. It’s under warranty, but they want me to pay for the Freon again, which is another $1000 out of my pocket. I would think that something that’s being replaced under a warranty should also cover the Freon as well. People who have older homes will be hit with a lot of upcharges because their houses would not be up to current code standards. They would have to pay the fees and those are not covered by American Home Shield.

I’ve always been very pleased with American Home Shield's service. Usually, I get an appointment within 24 hours, so it was a little bit of a surprise that their contractor, Whirlpool, took about three days before they let me know when they were coming. Other than that, they did what they were supposed to do. The repairman came and looked at it, then he came back with the parts. He was here for about 30 minutes, and he was gone, and it was working like a charm. He was nice, but I just have a problem with people who don’t put things back. He left the lid down on the washing machine, which I never do. I always put it up, so it’ll dry. He also left with the light on in the laundry room. And then, I have a bar stool in there because I’m 83 and a little bit shaky sometimes, and he left it out in the kitchen.
I can move those things, so it wasn’t a big deal, but it’s just little stuff that irritates me because I’m pretty much of a perfectionist. I’m not criticizing him necessarily, but that’s one of the things that I think they ought to do. Still, I am delighted that I have the warranty. I’m now a widow and my husband was my repairman, so there’s not much an 83-year-old woman with arthritis can do for herself. I really like American Home Shield and I’ve recommended it to a couple of people.

We weren’t satisfied when Appliance Superheroes went out. The contractor finished part of the job with our dishwasher but didn’t complete it. He told me he was gonna order parts and he never got back with me. Two weeks went by and we called AHS for it to be resolved. The contractor didn’t answer my calls and he didn’t answer AHS's calls either. So, AHS had to finally turn it over to contractor relations, and then he called AHS and said, “Well, it wasn’t my fault. It’s the customer’s fault. He has bad cabinets.” AHS didn’t know whether to believe me or the contractor because he was saying a different story than what he told me, that he was gonna order parts. So, AHS got a second person in for what they call a second opinion. Valley Pro Appliance came in and fixed the problem right away.
What happened was the door on the dishwasher has pulleys on it on the underneath, so those had to be replaced and the first contractor did that. He fixed that part on the door. But to do that, he had to pull it out from the cabinet. So, when he put it back in, he didn’t level it correctly, so the door wouldn’t close. And that was what the problem was. So, Valley Pro Appliance came in, he said he practically diagnosed it over the phone. And then he came out and leveled it up, and it has worked perfectly ever since. I don’t like being misled and AHS is in the dark too. So, the first contractor is not being fair to AHS and to me, the customer. So, I would put a red flag there. The second guy that came out even said that he’s had to go behind the first contractor before and clean a problem.
So far, I’m satisfied with the result and that they allowed a second opinion, which saved me. But I don’t think a simple repair that ended up taking almost three weeks is reasonable. As a customer, I'm frustrated because I’m just seeing the dishwasher sitting here week after week. American Home Shield could improve on their communication because they were totally relying on me to contact them when I was told to wait for the part.

I've had AHS coverage for three years now. Generally, my tenants would inform my property manager or me of any issue and then I'd submit the claim to AHS. Usually it’s easy to get stuff done but their claims process was a little unusual this last time when my tenant said that the water wouldn’t drain out from the washer. It was a little bizarre because the contractor that AHS sent out, Shenandoah Appliance Plumbing and Electric, had called me and told me it needed to be replaced. I called to find out from AHS what was going on and they said they were gonna repair it, which was fine with me if they felt it could be repaired. Then I asked them when was that gonna take place because we weren’t aware that was going on and they said the part has been ordered.
I asked AHS what part was it and the rep said she has to check and she'd call me back. They checked with Shenandoah and when I called back, they said, “No, it’s being replaced.” It was just a little bizarre how things were handled this time because that didn’t make any sense to me. In the long run, it did get replaced, and my tenants just informed me it was just installed, Friday. AHS should get their facts straight before they get back to the policy holder. I want to take out another policy for a home that I live in here in Colorado Springs that I wanna put my stuff under, but I’m not going to do it just yet. I gotta take a look at my finances and then I’ll give them a call. For the most part, I’m happy with the service that I get from AHS, and hopefully I don’t have to use it that much. That was why I want to pick out something for my house here as well.

The service from American Home Shield is generally really prompt and it saves us a lot of money. Paying a monthly premium is cheaper than replacing a $3,000 furnace. I've been with them for about 30 years and we’ve had two furnace replacements ‘cause we own two properties, a water heater replacement, and fairly regular routine appliance services, and we’ve always been satisfied. When I submit claims over the phone, I’m certain that the claim has been accepted and handled. Sometimes, online requests don’t get handled properly. But you get faster, more prompt and better responses when you actually talk to a real person. A couple of weeks ago, I had Optimum Appliance come out and they were very good. They showed up when they said they would, and the guy promptly was done with both appliances in under an hour.

I've been with American Home Shield for eight years now and I kept them because of the ease and cost of their service. Whenever I have claims, I find their online process to work a little faster than over the phone. Also, I don’t have to wait online where I have to wait for a customer service agent when I’m calling in. Recently, I submitted a claim and they sent out J & K HVAC. They are the only ones I would request and they’ve given me great service over the five different times I’ve had to call. I’ve tried other ones and they do not match the quality of J & K's service.
Other than that, AHS should be more responsive to specific use of individual companies that have come well-rated. They should also be more leery of those companies with whom they contract just to provide the service without investigating the company and their quality of service. That’s because a company that they sent out before came out, looked at the AC, and said that it was not an American Home Shield issue. But I also happen to be an engineer and used to do HVAC when I was in the military as well. So, I understand what the rules are and the legalities of it. So, when I read through the contract, plus I know the equipment and the conditions, it was evident to me that it was and AHS issue. But they sent out a young tech who didn't know his proverbial donkey from the proverbial hole in the ground.
But then, J & K came out, told me what it was, what they had to do, and that they could have it done in this amount of time. That’s the kind of person you would want to have working on your vehicle or working on your home or handling your case in court. Somebody who knows what they’re doing and has the confidence and the knowledge to do so. That’s what Home Shield’s missing. I do not feel they do sufficient investigation into their companies with whom they contract. They just simply contract.

My initial experience started out to be a very bad experience with American Home Shield. I was out of AC for 14 days before they could get it resolved. And in that, we're talking about summer heat of 105 degrees every day in the month of August. And every time I called, the generic answer I got was it was their procedure, it was their policy, and they couldn’t do anything. Unfortunately, I live in a city that gets very hot and it’s hot up until now even if we’re in the month of October. So, right off the bat, the very first experience was one of my worst experience ever dealing with any home warranty company.
But recently, when my garage door was not working, I called American Home Shield's 1-800 number and opened a claim. Then, I was contacted by the contractor, Valor Garage Doors and a tech came out. He was excellent, prompt, and very thorough. He reset the whole system, gave new garage door openers and synced them. I had American Home Shield before about a year ago and had terminated it thinking I wouldn’t need it. Then as soon as I decided that, something broke so I wound up reinstating it. My washing machine had stopped spinning recently so I wasn’t able to use it. Greenway came out, ordered parts and repaired it. They were very professional and on time. They fixed the machine and did everything they said they would do.

My brother and sister-in-law recommended Home Shield, and I gave them a try so we've been with them for about 3 years now. We’ve only had to use them twice so far and in both times, we were very happy with the service. I submitted the first claim over the phone and then the last one was done online. Either way was okay, but it was easier for me to submit online because I was at work when I did it and I didn't have to wait or get put on hold. Miller's Repair was the contractor for the second claim and the guy who came was there when he said he was gonna be there. He inspected, did what he was gonna do, and answered all my questions. He was efficient too.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. We are happy to know that the online service has been beneficial to you Ruby. Have an amazing week.

I submitted a claim online to AHS because I was having some electrical issues with my dishwasher outlets, and it wasn't working. The process was very easy. However, when I had a problem earlier when I bought my house, they weren't able to fix the problem. I had some issue with ductwork in my dryers and that wasn't covered. So that was irritating. But for this particular issue, JK Plumbing and Heating was able to come in and get that all fixed up. They were also professional and friendly, and everything went very smoothly.

495 Garage Door's service was wonderful. The technician came on time, he did the service, looked at the garage door opener, and looked at the garage door. He did a great job. He was outstanding, and the door is fixed. Initially, it wasn’t coming up, so I called American Home Shield and talked to a person. She was fine. Everything with my experience went great this time. I’ve had bad experiences before. The contractor that came to my door seemed drunk. So, I didn’t let him in my door. And I called back and I had cancelled it. When he called me the first time, he sounded okay, but when he called back to say he was on his way, something didn’t sound right. And then when he came to the door, I said, “You can’t come in.” I’m single. I’m only by myself. So, I can’t take a risk.

The pipes right behind the hot water heater had busted. It had a leak. The contractor sent by AHS was very informative. He was able to easily find the location of the leak, quickly shut off the water, get it done, and move on. After he had left, the pipe right above it broke and I had to call back. They were able to dispatch a new plumber about three hours later and they didn’t have a problem with it. So far, I have no leaks and everything is good. I love American Home Shield and I know I’m going to renew May of next year. I would be proud to recommend them and I already did. My friend is going to get the information from me and she’s gonna sign up.

I’ve been with American Home Shield for five years and I've been completely happy with their service. I usually do my claims online and depending on the time I submit it, I would usually hear from somebody the next day. We had an ice maker that just stopped working and the people who did it were great. When they had to get a new one, the guys who delivered it, hauled the old one and installed it were good. Plumbing companies have always been good and we've had pool repairs too. One time, there was an air conditioner repair that kinda went a little haywire but it was remedied and fixed.
Before I would set things up online, I would always call in because sometimes, I would have questions that I would want to talk to somebody about. Now, for the most part, I just set everything up online and there's never an issue that way but when you need to call to double-check on something, the wait times can be long and a bit ridiculous. At 9 o'clock in the evening, I've been on the phone waiting for at least an hour. Still, I've always been pleased. We haven't had anything that they said wasn't covered so far. Everything has always been handled and I've been happy.

Stay away from these horrible people. First time filing a claim and its an extremely excruciatingly painful experience. First of all, their customer service is in Philippines, and clearly the people they hire have not been trained on anything. It is transparent that they are reading a script and do not offer any help or thought into your issue.
I had a gas leak and the gas company shut off the gas. Gas company said call a professional and they will be able to determine where the leak is. I called AHS, and they send out a Plumbers Inc. The guy from Pumbers Inc. had no clue what he was doing. He wanted to upset me a valve and claimed that the valve was missing on my home. Mind you, I live in a new community and none of my neighbors or anyone in my community has the valve he's ref to. So obviously I said no. He said without that he couldn't test. When I told him I know he's lying because it makes no sense, he said "I can test but I don't want to make my life harder than it is". Clearly, that was the end of the conversation and I sent him away.
Then I called AHS back and asked if I could use my own Plumber. The rep said yes, as long as they are on their approved list. And that AHS will dispute the call with the previous Plumber, and if the second Plumber's diagnosis is different then I would not be charged twice. I then found a Plumbing company based on recommendations. I spoke to them, got a good feeling and when I called AHS, the rep was unbelievable incapable of understanding the situation. She said I would have to pay 2nd time as well regardless of the dispute. After I told her all of this in detail, she said "I've not scheduled a call with another one of of Plumbing companies."
She did not understand one bit of the situation and my request and made things even more difficult and muddier. I demanded to speak to her superior and she said "that is not possible because I cannot transfer a call, but you can call back and maybe you will get a supervisor".... WTH???? UNBELIEVABLE. How is this worth even having as a home warranty company? So PLEASE save your time and your sanity. Pay a bit more and go with a company that does business only in USA. I hope this review helps other homeowners and keeps them away from these horrible people / scammers.
Good afternoon Stephan,

Updated on 10/23/2019: I had written an earlier review on AHS mentioning my poor experience with them. I got a response on my review on this site, from AHS that they'll contact me back. Never happened, nobody called. And all I can do on this website is to send them a private message regarding that. The first time I called them, they told me that the indoor panel was not covered. The second time after the service technician came home and said it's not the indoor but the out panel which is at fault, they said although that's is covered but it's not. So I raised another request, another technician came home, who gave a totally different diagnosis that said basically all the panels are fine but the electrical wiring is at fault, then AHS said although pool electrical is covered but it is not. Totally frustrated and cancelling my coverage after suffering for several years.
Original Review: AHS is a waste of money. All the folks giving 5-stars are either exceptions or just fraudulent reviews.
- I had a water leak from a faucet. They said it's not covered because the faucet is working fine, its connection with counter top is at fault and thats not covered.
- My swimming pool equipment stopped working, because of a fault with the control panel. First AHS said the indoor control panel is not covered. So I got the technician nevertheless, and he said the indoor panel is working fine, the outdoor panel is not. Then AHS said even though the outside panel is not working fully, the switches to turn on the pump work, so they won't cover it
I have a few more examples like this, where I have spent many hours with them on calls. If you read the fine print - Everything which is covered in the contract is NOT actually covered. There is an exception list NOT mentioned in the contract "Section E" which basically says what is covered and what is not. They dont cover electronics, these days everything is electronic, home appliances, a/c, pool, garage doors, etc, and you are at their mercy, most probably they'll tell you because the fault is electronic in nature, it's not covered. Basically they'll find a way of not fixing any of the expensive stuff, so in the end you'll realize, you were far better off without this warranty.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. I will follow up with you as soon as possible in an effort to assist with unresolved issues. Thanks for your patience.

Updated on 11/14/2019: After almost THREE MONTHS, I am STILL waiting for my tub motor to be repaired! I have spoken to numerous customer service people, and they keep telling me "AHS has 48 hours to respond to your complaint." It has been WAAAAY OVER 48 HOURS and STILL no repair to my tub motor. I received a phone call from the last plumbing company to set up an appointment to come out. THEY don't even know WHY AHS is sending them out AGAIN, when their technician said he "cannot repair the motor".
I don't know WHAT MORE AHS wants me to do! They are supposed to REPLACE the appliance if it cannot be repaired. Their commercial says "No matter HOW OLD the appliance is" they will repair/replace it! I have read several BAD reviews of AHS, and now I am beginning to understand WHY!!! I feel that AHS is in BREACH OF CONTRACT, because they have not repaired my tub motor OR replaced the tub! I wish SOMEONE could help me with this ongoing issue!!!
Original Review: The plumbing company came out to look at our therapy tub. First guy took all the information, but I was told he lost his cell phone and they had to send someone else to get the motor information. Now we've been told that they cannot get the motor. AHS is going to send ANOTHER plumbing company to try to fix the motor. I called AHS as a potential customer and was told if they couldn't fix the appliance on the FIRST attempt, they would replace it. Why do I have to take MORE time away from work to meet with ANOTHER vendor??? How many vendors before they replace the tub??? This has been ongoing for over two months!

Our sink was clogged up. Submitting a claim to AHS was very easy and the contractor they sent, Air Pro Master, had techs that were very good people. They knew what they were doing. However, for air conditioning and water heaters, I think I pay AHS enough money that I almost pay for a brand new water heater myself. After coming down to it, I could probably get a cheaper water heater by going through Home Depot or Lowe's or Sam's Club compared to what AHS charges us for service calls.
One time, I had a big problem with the air conditioner. It went out. When it went out, their techs said that there's a piece that wasn't automated. The techs have been out at my place how many times and they never mentioned that piece before. All of a sudden, because AHS has to replace a whole air conditioner, they say that a certain piece caused it to go out so they won't cover it. If anybody asks me about a home warranty, I would not tell them, "Go to Home Shield,".
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. I will follow up with you as soon as possible in an effort to assist with unresolved issues. I just sent you an email. Thanks for your patience.

The plumber AHS sent did not do a very good job. When the issue started, I told them that I needed an HVAC person, somebody who could fix heating. The guy they sent replaced the hot water tank, but he didn't know how to check and see if it was working properly in conjunction with the furnace. That was when he informed me he was not an HVAC man. I don't know if AHS didn't order an HVAC man to come out or if they ordered an HVAC man and he said that he was. All I know is that they needed to get somebody else to come in here and fix the problem. A second person came and was able to find the problem. Because of the new hot water tank, the lines had to be bled into the furnace. They knew how to do that and got the furnace working properly. All in all, AHS did a good job of getting the issue resolved.

American Home Shield is a great service to have, especially when buying a used home. Something always pops up and they have been great for getting things fixed. I usually submit a claim through the website and navigating through the site is straightforward. There might be a little more options or place to describe everything, but there was a place to list the information that we need to request. My original claim was for a pipe that was leaking, and the contractor came in and replaced the corroded part with a new pipe. It was great service and we were even asked to add an extra shut-off valve right by where he was replacing the pipe, so we could just shut off water to the entire house and not have an issue if that incident ever happened again. So, everything has been great. Also, we’ve had good interactions with everyone that has come out.

A couple of my buddies that already had accounts with American Home Shield recommended it and I've been with them for six months now. I went online and filed a claim for a stove and a refrigerator on our back porch. Their claims process was easy. They got to me straight away, gave me a claim number and told me who was gonna call me. 3 Boys Appliance Repair called, came out and fixed the stove quickly. And then, they had to order parts for our refrigerator that was not freezing. Within two weeks they didn’t call us back. I tried to reach out to them and left about five messages trying to figure out why they hadn’t called back. When I finally got a hold of them, they said that AHS denied the claim on the refrigerator for some reason and that they were supposed to call me and tell me that it was denied. And then they just hung up.
I’ve been busy. I've been traveling all over the place and being as it is, a back porch fridge, it’s not essential. So, I haven’t reached out to AHS. The AHS part in everything went great. The American Home Shield people sets the appointment up, and then they would reach out to us about the timing of the appointment. And then the contractors would show up on the time and day that they scheduled with us. Day’s Appliance Repair had to come out the first time to look at all the appliances with the exception of the refrigerator. Upon further notice, I thought the refrigerator was included, but it wasn’t on the ticket. So, I asked them to reopen the ticket to relook at the refrigerator, and the rep did a good job. He was prompt and provided the report within a day.
One of the appliances such as the dishwasher had a repair, and we declined the repair in lieu of us going ahead and buying a new appliance to match the other ones. But on the other one, the repairs were significant to the point where American Home Shield provided us with options for replacement or cash. In that situation, we chose the new replacement, with the exception of the range. They offered just $400 cash for that item, and we used that towards a new appliance. The only hiccup that we ran into was that since I had aluminum wiring in the house, they couldn’t do the full install of the microwave oven wall unit out of insurance’s sake. But they delivered and took out the old, so it all worked out.

While Lone Star was fine, Home Shield needs to pick up on their customer service. They put us on hold forever, like 45 minutes or an hour, so I made the vendor do it. The tech from Runyon Appliance, AHSs' contractor was very pleasant. He wasn't too chatty, came in and did what he needed to do. He asked us a couple of questions about what was going on. It can take a while to get to contractors and I don't like that I can’t have a preferred repair person. One time, I called a company for an AC issue and the tech said that the coil on my air conditioner is going and that needed to be replaced. I told them I had a home warranty and they asked who my home warranty was. When I told them it was AHS, they said they were one of AHSs' listed companies so I called them to come. I've had that air conditioner repaired every time I turned it on in the spring. It wasn't getting fixed. The company that came initially is Total Air Care and they were awful. AHS should not book Total Air for me again.
Previously, AHS wasn't doing maintenance as they had already dropped that from their services. More recently, they added it backed on and I scheduled maintenance. Air Design AC & Heating, AHSs' contractor took two days to get my appointment confirmed. They came out within that week, looked at my furnace and they changed the filters. They charged me $75 per furnace which I thought was a little expensive. Still, other than that, my experience was fine.

American Home Shield sent Proven Professional Construction to fix the hole in the wall that was made when the shower of my boys were fixed. It was a two-part claim. One claim led to another claim. It took almost a month. I had to call and initiate things to get rolling again. We’re very disappointed because they came out and fixed the toilet, and then they said they had to order a part for the shower. And then about three weeks later, I called and the part hadn’t come in. So finally, the part came in, and they got somebody out the next week, and then I had to call back to see regarding the replacement part, but it wasn’t a replacement part that came in. They had replaced the whole thing. So, I had to do their job basically.
I apologize for the inconvenience Denetra. I've emailed you as I would like to make sure your claim is resolved. My name is Stacy and I look forward to assisting you.

Two of the burners of our stove weren’t working. We called American Home Shield and we had a guy come out. He looked at it, told us what we needed and ordered the part. Three days later, he was back and he fixed it, and that took care of it. It was a very simple and easy process. It would have been less expensive to buy a new stove ‘cause you can get them fairly cheaply, but with the process, it was well worth the money that we pay to have that peace of mind knowing if something goes wrong, that it’s just a phone call away. We can get it taken care of without having to worry about upsetting our budget.

I went to go flush the half-bathroom toilet and I could feel a loud vibration and a loud noise coming from our well pump, which was very abnormal. I made a service request online and it was easy. The contractors gave me a date they were coming out and they kept me updated the whole time, including how they had to turn the paperwork to American Home Shield. They fixed the issue and the pump has been great since. I was quite pleased at how fast things took place and I've already mentioned AHS to my mom.

Submitting claims with AHS is really easy. My work schedule is really crazy so the ability to do that online is beneficial for me. I had a claim for my microwave and everything was great. It took a little while because the previous microwave was old and they tried to find a piece to fix it but they were not able to get one. But then, the process of getting a new microwave and making sure it fits was great. The contractor just texted me and we worked out a time, and then they came here to put it in.

The claims process of American Home Shield has always been challenging. Sometimes they are not sending out quality people so you have to be your own advocate to get the right person out there to evaluate your appliance, and Gilmore's is a great resource. They do a great job. The guy has lots of integrity, lots of knowledge and it's a good company to work with. I would definitely put him as one of the preferred folks.
We had five service calls on our refrigerator. The first couple of people came out and did stuff but never fixed it. Then they sent out this other guy from Asher Appliances and he was a total joke. He was there and within 24 hours, the appliance failed again. AHS was about to send out a fourth person from a different company. I called the company and they said that they don't repair appliances. They just come out and diagnose the problem. When we called AHS back, they were sending back the guy from Asher. I said, "No. He's not coming back to my house." I asked AHS why they are not sending Gilmore's Appliance who was here in April of 2019 and fixed the appliance since they're familiar with it. Finally, after advocating, they did end up sending Gilmore's out.
Gilmore's Appliance said the unit was not repairable. We got another ref and AHS said reimbursement check would only take five to seven days. But it has been three weeks now and we're still waiting. It has been painful to call their regular customer service because we never penetrate to the person. They were just reading a script. It's very frustrating as a customer, especially for us, in this case where we had multiple service calls for the same appliance. But the last time, when I got through to the person responsible for letting me know the next step, she was really helpful. AHS has to do some more training and make sure that their people are reading the notes and know what's going on.

The guy that came up that day was very nice, polite and efficient.
I was skeptical with American Home Shield before. I just read a lot about it, and then years ago, we had friends in our neighborhood that were a part of it and believed in it, and I went with it. At first, I was only gonna get the major stuff, and then they gave me a special for one year, and then now, I think I'll continue it after the one year for the appliances.

We recently noticed that the AC wasn't cooling as usual, and the unit was just running and running and running. It got to a point where it wouldn't even cool the house anymore. That was when I called American Home Shield to see if they could come check it out. First Choice was good, but there was a company that American Home Shield had sent before that said they'd filled it up with Freon. Came to find out, it wasn't even filled up correctly. They were trying to sell me a brand new system, and I was like, "Wait a minute. Do I need a brand new system?" I had to follow up again with American Home Shield, and they sent First Choice. That was when Rene the owner said, "You don't need a new AC unit. It just needs to be repaired." Overall there have been little issues here and there but nothing that required extra attention.

I've had AHS insurance since I've heard of them back in 2002, I have used them ever since. The plan has saved me in numerous ways! I highly recommend AHS to everyone I know that has a home. They are much better than any other service provider out on the market. My first home I had an issue with my furnace, they sent someone to come in and fix it, the repairman had to return numerous times, yet he finally got the job done. The repairs were all covered outside of my service fee. My current home I've had a large number of things go wrong in my home.
(#1) The dishwasher, which came with the house, was leaking all over the floor. (It needed the switch that tells the machine to stop bringing in the water replaced.) It was replaced yet when I called AHS to let them know that the machine wouldn't clean the dishes -the repairman said that I had hard water and that there wasn't anything that could be done, (when I have city water which is not hard), so I had to end up purchasing a new dishwasher myself years later (when I could afford it).
(#2) The dryer, which came with my house, was making beeping noises constantly, the repairman said that I needed a new dryer panel (he said that is practically like replacing the entire machine - he ordered it and when it came in he installed it - works great now).
(#3) A ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms stopped working (fan worked but not the light) - the repairman said that he needed to replace it - so it was replaced.
(#4) The refrigerator that came with the house stopped cooling off the refrigerator, freezer worked though. The repairman said that he needed to order a part, and then I was informed that the part is no longer made so we were to get a new refrigerator instead - it was replaced with similar.
(5) The new ceiling fan (item #3 above) broke down - the fan stopped working this time yet the light worked - was replaced yet again.
(6) At the same time as item #5 was being replaced I also had a kitchen ceiling fan that went out fan didn't work yet light did. This one was also replaced - for both the repairman just suggested that I go out on HomeDepot.com and pick out a ceiling fan I liked that was under $120 and let him know which ones I wanted - he went and purchased them and replaced them both at the same time.
(7) We found a crack in our sewer pipe right where it met with the cement, AHS covered the pipe, yet wouldn't cover the cement tear out and replacement, nor to have the hot water heater disconnected and reconnected so that the repairmen could obtain access to the pipe. I had to pay $1890 to have that all done, where AHS did cover the pipe replacement itself only. The servicemen did an awesome job, and were quick to set up the service day/time, yet the fact that I needed to come up with that much money when I thought AHS covered the entire problem was a shock to me. Now don't get me wrong. I love AHS as you can see they have done a lot for my family over time, yet I was disappointed as I had to borrow the funds from a relative, to cover the expenses that AHS wouldn't cover.
(8) Main floor toilet was leaking, and lower level shower had a slow leak, I was able to have these also fixed on the same ticket as the sewer pipe issue. In fact the sewer pipe issue confirmed to me that I've had a leak in my toilet on my main floor (where others just kept telling me that it was just air in the line), both issues were repaired without any additional cost to me.
Something to understand which I just recently found out is that if there is a plumbing issue or an electrical issue where the issue is not easily accessible they do not cover the parts where things are in the walls or in the cement (in my case). This was news to me where I didn't understand that before. I know AHS is awesome, and that they are much better than other companies out there and I will still continue to recommend them to others as without them I'd be in more distress without having money. I'm just a single parent with a chronically ill child and I'm always broke because of her medical expenses, and such that home expenses are out of my range of cost. So American Home Shield (AHS) to the rescue!

I initially placed the call to American Home Shield for service for my AC unit. The service guy that came out was nice enough, but he didn't do anything on the first visit. I was very specific in letting him know that the large unit was not working. And he said that he did something to the small unit, but nothing to the large unit. But he never, ever went in the attic to look at the unit and service it at all. He only went outside. And the large unit is the unit that cools the upper level, which is what was out and I explained that to him. He said that I would have to call AHS back and let them know that it was not repaired. About three hours later, I called AHS, spoke to the young lady in the office and explained to her what happened. She said that she would reopen the ticket and send the man back out. The man came back out and took my unit out from upstairs. I was without air for approximately two weeks.
Finally, he came back and brought the unit back in, and it was fine. And then, I got an email from AHS saying that I owed 75 additional dollars. I told them that that was incorrect. That I paid the first time but the order was not fulfilled. And the young lady told me that she was gonna keep the ticket open for me just in case it didn't work, and she did. So, there was not supposed to be an additional charge. It was a crazy experience and I was livid. I even called AHS, told them that I needed somebody else to come out. It was my first experience with them and it was just very bad. I wasn’t pleased at all. The vendors were one thing, but the AHS service itself was horrible.

The freezer wasn't cooling on the refrigerator. I thought it was just the control board issue. I submitted a claim to AHS but I wasn’t very happy with the first contractor that they sent out. The guy asked some questions about how long I've had my insurance, which wasn’t appropriate. That was none of his business. And then, he just looked at the ref and said he'd just call me because he needed parts. And he just walked out. When he came back, I wasn’t there. I had a friend come over to meet him and same thing happened. My friend said he just walked in, hardly said anything and put the parts in. And then, he called me but I couldn’t answer, so he text me and said that he doesn’t work on replacing compressors, because the control board he put in was not the only issue. I said, “Okay. So, what was the purpose of you coming out if you don’t work on compressors?” He said, “Refrigerator that doesn’t cool down.”
I called AHS and they sent out another crew who was very professional and neat. He came in, looked at the thing and explained to me everything that was wrong. He said that for the cost of repairs, parts, he couldn't replace it. He said to make other means of having my stuff cool because the repair might be a little while. But the response from AHS was quick. And even the report that they submit to AHS, it was very good. Also, the AHS claims reps I've talked to have been good. Sometimes, I have to hold on, but that’s understandable. They're busy and I'm a patient guy, so it's okay. I will tell my friend who do a rent to own house to get with AHS and get insurance with them.

A friend told me she had American Home Shield, and after reading the reviews, I got the warranty. A guy assisted me at that time, and he explained the process to me. The only thing was that I may have misunderstood it when he said that they suggest to hold off if something breaks down, and then call in all at once to save money, which I did. My refrigerator had broken, then my washing machine, and then my air conditioner. I called them for three things thinking I would have to pay $100, but their rep said that it doesn't work like that. She said it was per technician, like the air condition person can't fix my appliances and the appliance person can't do the electrical work. So then I told her to just send out the air conditioner contractor. That was a disappointment because it wasn't explained to me correctly, but other than that, the gentleman was super nice.
The tech then gave me a time frame and then he called about an hour before he got here. He was here on time and he introduced himself. He had his badge on, with his picture on it. That was confirmed online in the email I was sent which had a picture of who was coming out to me. I walked him out to the unit in the backyard and then he walked me through what he was doing. When he found out what was going wrong, he explained to me what it was and what it does for the unit. And then it took him 10 minutes to fix it. He was great.

Rush Heating and Cooling contacted me within 24 hours and they came out to do a furnace tune-up before the season. Overall, I’ve had a great experience with AHS.

AHS' reps are polite but I just don't believe them after a while. I submitted a claim for my dryer and they sent Hers & His Plumbing. The tech was nice but it was $75 to take a little wrench and turn my disposal. It didn't matter whether it was all rusted out and ready to fall apart. I have not heard from them and my dryer is still broken. I can't wait until they ask me if I wanna renew. 600 bucks for nothing.

We've been with AHS for over 16 years and I like the fact that I can call them today and by tomorrow, there’s somebody in the house. They also have come up with absolutely everything they said they would. They haven’t had any delays and I haven’t had any problems whatsoever. We had a great experience with the last claim we submitted to them. Wayne Hyde Plumbing came in immediately, like early the next day, and within three days, the whole thing was completely done. The contractors kept in touch. The parts took a couple of days to come in, and they kept in touch every day, letting us know that they were tracking the progress of the arrival.
Thanks for being at least a 16 year customer Eli. We really appreciate you taking time to share your AHS experience. It's comforting to know that the warranty is beneficial to you. Have an amazing week.

When our AC unit was leaking with Freon, I told American Home Shield what the problem was and gave them the account number. A man from MJS Mechanical Services came by that day to find out exactly what was wrong with the unit. The next day, he was back out to repair it. He did a good job, picked up after himself and left things clean. Everything was great. We've had an American Home Shield for 20 years and we’re happy with them.

My faucet broke as the knob on it stopped controlling the faucet so the water was running into my tub. It happened Sunday morning and I filed the claim at American Home Shield that morning. I appreciated the timeliness and promptness of their emergency response. The tech from High Priority Plumbing and Services came out the same Sunday ‘cause it was an emergency. It would have ruined something if it had kept running at that rate. He put a new washer and stem in the tub which took him an hour, and it has been doing great ever since. Everything was excellent and on point.

In my routine maintenance that was done, not by Home Shield, but another company, I was told I needed to get a new heater, and that they had to shut my heater down and put a tag on it because the carbon monoxide level was over the legal limit. They also said the heat exchanger was cracked and my flame was not working right. I then called American Home Shield and they sent out a company, and that company said everything was fine, there was no crack, my carbon monoxide was not over the legal limit and it was not true that my flame was not working right. The contractor was fantastic 'cause he explained everything. There were a couple times where they sent out a really bad plumbing company who knew and did nothing. I had taken a day off work, and it was a big waste. I ended up just going to the plumbing company that I know, that was reliable. I’m happy now.

Our dishwasher just stopped working. None of the buttons were responding. And our washing machine, you can push the button to lock it but wouldn't unlock. It's like a child lock. It was just stuck and then the washing machine wouldn't power on. We had dishwasher and washing machine issues which happened within a week, so I called AHS about both items. The rep I spoke with was great.
The guy from Appliance Protection who came out was fantastic. I wasn't home, but I had a kid who was home, and she told me how great he was and made sure if they were to actually give him a review, she would highly recommend them. The contractor was very informative and attentive. My kids were there and were curious and had a lot of questions. And he took time to explain what he was doing and he didn't mind that. He called me at work to explain to me as well what happened and what he saw. He made it clear to me that because it was a button that has to do with locking the machine, it may or may not be covered because it was not a function button. But he said that he would disarm it, at least. He could take the panel off, disarm the button, and then it wouldn't pose an issue. He did that versus just not addressing it at all when he didn't really have to address it.
Almost two weeks ago, the same issue came up with the buttons of the dishwasher. I unloaded it and loaded it back up and pushed power, and nothing was happening on it. So, I called AHS, and they said, "It's still the same claim. There wouldn't be another fee paid." So, I talked to the same appliance people and the gentleman said that oftentimes, if the part that he replaced fails again, then he could replace a part. He said, "Instead of me coming to your house and looking into it, I'll go ahead and order it, and then I'll come with the part to fix it." So, I'm now waiting for him to come back with the part. However, I haven't heard back yet to see if the part is in. I've just called them early last week but I'll have to follow up and see where it is now. We've been washing just by hand now so I miss having a dishwasher for sure.

AT Appliances came out and fixed my refrigerator. And then the dishwasher. The contractor came out and he checked the dishwasher over and replaced the upper sprayer on the top. And then everything seemed to work. Except when the first time I used the dishwasher, it leaked. Then underneath my sink was full of water, and it was leaking out the bottom. Because the dishwasher also had a leak somewhere else and the guy didn’t find it on the first visit, so when he put the new blade in, the sprayer created more pressure and it somehow made a hole in the hose to the garbage disposal. That’s what caused the leak. So I ended up with a new motor for the dishwasher and a new garbage disposal. I really liked the guy they sent. He explained what he was doing as he moved along, and he seemed like he had a world of experience with appliances. And when he had to come back because I had a leak, it bothered him that he didn’t see that before.

American Home Shield's website was okay, except that I wasn't so good about knowing what the issue was. I didn't know if it was the filter and the website wouldn't let you check more than one thing. When the contractor called, I said that I wasn't sure if it was the filter or another piece of the equipment. I didn't want him to come out and say that I checked the filter, but the issue wasn't the filter, it was the motor. He had to come out and look at it. I wasn't home and I let him in the backyard. He called me and said that it was the filter and the thing that held it in place needed to be replaced. It had a top and a bottom and he was able to replace just half of it. I recently had a plumber and he was good too.

So, I wasn’t really satisfied with what they told me because I called on a Thursday and the person didn’t come until that Monday. I just didn’t like their response time. I was expecting a sooner response time. Other than that, I was satisfied with Accu-Plumb. There was a claim that I had an issue with. We have had American Home Shield for 1 year. At first I was very happy with the company, but recently I’ve had to deal with their customer service and to say the least, it’s nonexistent. My AC compressor went out 10 months ago and AHS sent a company to repair it. 10 months later, the same part has gone out. AHS wants us to pay another service fee, along with paying for Freon at $90 per pound, and they are sending a refurbished part from some company out of Tennessee called ARCO who’s parts keep failing.
My AC takes 11 pounds of Freon, so they want us to keep paying for Freon, service calls and go through the inconvenience of being without air. When you call to talk with someone, they never let you talk to a manger, it’s just people in other countries acting like they want to help. I’ve been hung up on 3 times. AHS doesn’t know what’s going on in their customer service department or in the authorization department and neither does the AC company. Pathetic!!!
I can understand your frustration Chelsea. I certainly apologize for the inconvenience. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you as I will be assisting with a resolution. I look forward to speaking with you.

Updated on 10/20/2019: Potential/Existing Customers: Be Aware AHS is doing everything to not deliver what it's promised. My A/C is leaking and a vendor did an inspection. It determined that the internal coils need to be fixed and AHS is supposed to pay for it by contract. However, AHS falsifies that it's the underground broken line. The truth is the underground line if perfectly fine AND the same vendor said so. This proves that AHS is nothing but a crook, a fraud, and a scam. I will do everything to let the state attorney's office and BBB know about its practice to stop it. One of the social media specialists responded to my earlier complaints. However, she is not your advocate or try to solve AHS' problems. Therefore, the best option is to publicize your bad experience with AHS and let their potential customers be aware of what they get into before they sign up for the warranty service.
Original Review: We reported an AC problem 2 weeks ago and still not fixed yet. So far AHS used all kinds of tactics for delay and not paying for fixing. I have been a loyal customer for >6 years and rarely use the service, simply want to have a peace of mind. Unfortunately AHS has a different agenda. I hope a manager from AHS would contact me ASAP to work out a solution. Otherwise, AHS gives me no options but publish my true experience on every popular site and let its potential warranty buyers know what AHS is truly up to. Also, the experience will be reported to FTC, State Attorney's office, BBB, etc if no response.
Good Morning Yi,

I notified this company that my a/c was out on Sunday, they sent a company who essentially put a bandaid on my system on Monday. I called them Monday night to tell them the a/c was still not working. They advised there was nothing they could do until they received some paperwork from the a/c company. Apparently it takes 2 days for this to happen. They called me this morning (Wednesday) and said I was all set. I have been trying to reach someone at the a/c business with no success. I am unable to reach anyone at AHS to find another company to do the work. It seems to me that they deliberately do NOT provide a contact for a supervisor for a reason, but I cannot imagine what that reason would be. Before you sign on with this company, do a test run to see how successful you are with reaching anyone who would be able to assist you with a problem. I'm willing to bet you'll run as fast and far from this business as you can. I know I will.

I waited but no call received so I called on 10/16/19 and spoke to Chris. He stated that a call from cash-out department left a message. He gave me their number.
I called and Mike stated AHS will give an estimated figure, but when I asked for this in writing, I was told no. He said to email or fax in my receipts for a new heater and installation fee. I asked him why he could not email me and he stated they cannot email outside of the company. No Guaranty!! AHS makes you do an action that they are not willing to do. The absolute worst service of any warranty company out there. If you live in rural America it will take weeks before you see a service tech. You can't use the one in town if you have one, because they most likely are not in "their" system and if they do approve them the next time they will make you jump through all kinds of hoops to use them again. They contract out their customer service to a foreign country so you get to speak to someone who does not fully understand English. I'm sorry but that takes at least an hour to get your request understood by them. If you like to be frustrated, disappointed, and speak to someone for hours who doesn't really understand what you need, then pick this company and they will not disappoint you. Otherwise avoid American Home Shield at all cost. I tried to cancel with them and I was told I would have to wait 24 hours for them to call me. I can't wait for that conversation!!!!

I called American Home Shield regarding my ceiling fan, and then I had some electrical GFCIs and outlets that were not working. And when the tech came to the house, he said my ceiling fan wasn't on the order. What's happening a lot lately is I'm calling AHS and I tell them what's wrong, and when the techs get here, they don't have it on their work order. And it's very disturbing because now, when I do a work order, it's getting messed up and I make the AHS representatives repeat themselves because everybody's writing down the wrong stuff.
Submitting claims is another problem because a lot of times, it's the automated system, and then if I had two ceiling fans, it doesn't let me do that. So then, I'll have to call back. The people that I speak to in the Philippines always get things wrong every single time. I don't know if it's the language barrier, but they keep doing it. I kept saying, "Ceiling fans," and the Filipino tech's saying, "Oh, exhaust fan?" It's frustrating for me because I'm just calling up to get service. I don't wanna sit on the phone for an hour, and I don't want the techs to come to my house and have the wrong information when they walk in the door. It's not fair to me.
The contractor from Zen Appliance who came out was nice and polite, but I called AHS and asked why he was doing electricity. I was calling them up and I wanted them to talk to him. And then, when I can't get him on the phone, they said, "Yes, the exhaust fan is on the work order." I told him I never said it was the exhaust fan. And the worker at AHS was like, "Yes, I hear you. I hear you wanted your exhaust fan looked at." Then he said, "Okay, I'll look at the ceiling fan as long as you make another work order." I then said, "No, I'm not doing that. I'm not paying another $75 when you're standing in my house and they've all got it wrong. It's not fair to me." The Zen person came out to my house twice and he was very professional. He was really super excellent. And the man from the City Electrical was great. It's not his fault they're asking him to add something because he just wants to get paid, so I understand that.
I apologize for the inconvenience Tammy as I can understand your frustration. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you in an effort to make sure your claim is resolved.

He said to call American Home Shield and tell them it was not his problem. But I got a new guy and he was wonderful. That set me back for a month though and American Home Shield keeps trying to bill me for the $75 that I had already paid. They're not gonna get that again and they should quit billing me for it. But recently, American Home Shield sent Gulfside Plumbing out for a garbage disposal claim and it worked out great.
