I like doing my claims over the phone so I could tell AHS exactly what's going on, and the interaction I've had with them has been very good. Their contractors have been very good as well, but we had one company that we didn't care for, which we have told AHS about. All in all, we're very satisfied with AHS.

The tech from Appliance Repair came out twice. First time he came out, he was supposed to service my dishwasher but he thought the machine was under warranty for a recall. But it was only the ones with the ceramics and not stainless steel. Mine is stainless steel. I called American Home Shield and set up another appointment. The tech came back and fixed everything he thought he couldn't fix because it was under warranty. He just didn't know there were two separate types of dishwasher. He put in a new heating element and a new control panel and it works fine now. The service was great. He came in and repaired it so fast, it didn't disrupt anything. Having a home warranty is very valuable. Over the course of 12 or 13 years that I've been with AHS, we've had a few things that went out such as water heater, air conditioning and a whole bunch of different things. And so far, I've been very satisfied with AHS. It's a good company.

American Home Shield sent Runyon Appliance out for the oven. It was a good experience. The contractor was here for less than an hour. I did the claim via the internet, and it was easy. I've been with AHS for couple of months, but I’ve had them in the past as well. When you have to call, it’s off shored in the Philippines, and you go through an enormous amount of prompting to get to a live human. You wait, then you get somebody on, and then they re-ask you, “What is the service address? What is your policy number? Who am I speaking with? What is your phone number? What is your email address?” That’s the only thing. It’s a ridiculous amount of questions.

It's tough to get through to anybody at AHS. Still, when I get through to their reps, they have been good. However, some are better than others. Some say they'll do things which they do and others don't follow through the way they should. Also, I've had problems when I've had to call over and over again. Those times, AHS had given me credits to not quit on them but then using those credits was next to impossible. I would call and the reps would tell me everything was fine but then I wouldn't get to use my credits. I kept getting billed. I've used up the credits now but still, that was a big concern. So, I prefer to do things online.
Recently, I submitted a claim to AHS and they sent Hy-Tech Electric Inc to do service. Their tech came out quickly. The issue was an easy fix for him and it didn't take him long. He told us to call him if there were any problems, and there weren’t. Everything has been fine since the repair. Despite the issues I've had, I have always recommended American Home Shield to people.

We had the number to call that says for rekey from the Home Shield kit, and that’s where I turned in and got the number to call. They connected me with The Flying Locksmiths and the man called and scheduled a visit. He came out 2 days later and installed all the new locks. He is a very nice and pleasant young man. He was very professional and polite as well. He did a really good job. So far, we haven’t had anything else go wrong but we’re glad to have the policy. We are also very pleased with American Home Shield.

American Home Shield always has a recording which asks if something is broken and they give you the person who's gonna come, and either they call me or I call, which I usually do because if I got a problem, I want it to get here ASAP. It’s never the same day. Also, I like talking to a person. Sometimes, I speak with someone but if it’s the same thing every time I call and I talk to somebody different each time, I get frustrated and I just say okay.
The switch on the wall wasn’t working and the contractor, City First Electric came out. Most of the contractors who came were good but I didn’t care for the one who came yesterday for the garage. It seemed like they were in a hurry. The technician said something was loose and I assumed he tightened it. When he was there, I opened and closed the garage door and did it again, and it worked. But when my granddaughter came home, she said she couldn’t get it up. So, I said that the technician fixed it and I went out there. The garage door would go a little bit, and then it would fall down like a brick. The technician came back today and the garage door is now working.
When things go wrong, the warranty cost me less for the contractor to come than if I had to get a person on my own. An electrician would’ve probably cost more than my fee of 75, which makes it most valuable. But the only thing I don’t like about AHS is that every year, they go up on my contract. When I started out with them, I was only paying $45 for my fee, and my yearly thing was 400. So, my monthly that I pay them goes up each year too.

I went online and said I have a trouble with the water heater. We had seen a lot of yellow in the water so something was probably wrong with either the water heater or the pipes. Navigating through the site went pretty smooth. But I wish in this case for the water heater there was a little tab that said corroding. But I think that’s only for old water heaters. Chris, from Power Plus, checked it out and said it was kinda cracked. It was also corroding. There was a little leak, and it was leaking rust so he said, “Okay, we should probably change it.” Chris was great. Overall, it’s been great. Our house isn’t exactly that old, so I wasn’t expecting to have to do any kind of claims at all. But I'm really really glad we have American Home Shield because we surprisingly needed it far more than expected. AHS is very worth it. It’s a very good service.

We had an issue with our oven one time. I submitted a claim online to AHS and went through a quick and easy process. The contractor they sent was very attentive and made us feel pretty good. He took care of everything pretty quickly. Since the repair, the oven has been performing pretty well. Home Shield has been very good to me.

American Home Shield sent Legum’s Heating and Cooling and they did a great job. They were really friendly, very professional and very informative. The tech explained what happened and what he was replacing. We haven't really had any problems with AHS and the service providers that have been coming to our house.

I had a claim for the outside fan on the AC unit and that was repaired expeditiously. The Intrastate Energy Controls replaced the motor on the fan and they did an excellent job. In fact, they found the other problem which was a separate item, which I had to call in again. A different company came out and repaired a leak by the plenum box with the ductwork and they seemed to do a good job. The issue was the contractor before that caused the ductwork leak. They didn’t do it properly.
I’ve submitted claims both online and through phone, and for me, it’s easier to use the automated voicemail than to get on the computer and do it. So, a lot of times, I just do it through the automated voicemail. The reps I've talked to were helpful. It’s a little frustrating though because you have to put in a lot of information to get to them, and then they tend to ask you the same information again. They confirm your address, phone number and contract when they already knew who I am because I’m in the system. So, the process is a little bothersome. But generally, it gets done. It gets in the queue and I get called back quickly.
The last two contractors have been good. But there was a period where it was extremely rocky, where the AC contractors were not very good. I’ve got a stack of papers, a quarter-inch thick on the AC stuff. And a lot of times, I had to call back to try to fix a problem that wasn’t fixed properly the first time. But it has been better in the last year. They change contractors occasionally and it seems like the problem. They’ve improved.

The rep I spoke with was fine, however, I wasn’t aware and I was surprised that there was a $75 fee every time I talked to them. That could be my fault ‘cause we just moved and things were hectic. I was given something about the policy, but I didn't have time to go over it. So, to do a better job, there should be an email or something that says, “Here’s the basics.” That would have been very helpful. Another thing was on the impression that there was a free change-the-lock service in the beginning. Maybe it was free, but I had to pay the $75. No matter what I do, I pay the $75 and that, to me, is not free. But again, it was worth $75 and it wasn’t an issue. I told my wife, “I don't think I’ll ever call them again. I’ll just call a service company, especially if I don't think it’s a big deal.” Still, just clearer communication would be helpful.
I had a dryer issue and I happened to mention I thought it might be the vents. I was told, “Sir, we don’t cover vent issues.” And I didn't know that. So, it was a vent issue and I had to pay twice. That was okay because I didn't know the rules. So, I was satisfied. Also, the contractors that have been out were good, came when they said, and did the work.

I've been with them for several years now and they take care of problems when we have problems. And I don’t have to find a contractor. The contractor they sent answered my questions, was prompt and knowledgeable.

The website is easy to use and normally, I just go on it and input my claim. I had regular winterization done and I also had a claim for one of my AC units, which was acting crazy. American Home Shield sent Comfort First Heating & Cooling and they were good. The gentleman who came by was helpful and he answered my questions. He did a good job on what I perceived as going through the machines and doing his tests, so I didn’t have a problem. I'm satisfied with the service and overall, the AHS guys are very friendly and easy to work with.

The washing machine quit. We got ahold of Home Shield and told them what the deal was, then Quality Appliance came out and recommended replacing the unit because it wasn’t worth fixing. Home Shield allowed us $667 for another washing machine because I did not like the one they wanted to replace it with and that was their only washer they were gonna replace it with. We got the washer in but it took Home Shield almost four weeks to send us a check. But Home Shield improved in our last claim because they had a local contractor come and fix it. The time before, the contractor came out of Durango or Bayfield. They should continue to use local, and get rid of that automated computer talking thing to where you can talk to real people.

I enjoy that I get on American Home Shield, log in and I do claims online. It’s worked out really well. First Choice Appliance came out recently and the tech did a great job. There was some sort of capacitor out in my refrigerator and he was very professional. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

The digital board on my washing machine wasn't working and the machine itself wasn't doing anything. Making arrangements for my claim with AHS was easy. GE Appliances came to my place in a couple of days. Since my issue was with a GE product, I asked for GE and AHS sent me a GE contractor. So far, their contractors have been great. They had one work on my microwave and my dishwasher too.

I filed a claim to have a seasonal maintenance and inspection done on my PSC and the online process was straightforward. Climate Express was the company assigned right after that and they were able to accommodate our schedule. They showed up on time and didn't take long to look through everything. There were no issues noted, and they were in and out. So, everything went well.

American Home Shield sent out Martin's Appliance for my most recent claim and everything went well. This is the second time I've dealt with the contractor, and he has always been super professional. The dryer knob was pushed in, so he had to replace the whole board. Then recently, I had another claim where a company came and poked a hole in the wall. American Shield sent somebody to just fix the hole but the guy wasn't supposed to paint over it.

My only gripe with any of these companies is that they all do the same thing. They send somebody, they have to look around, and then they have to leave, and then they come back in a week. I had a dishwasher problem where they came back, they had the wrong part. That went on to the point, but I lucked out and they gave me another dishwasher. But it's like I pay for it with my patience and time.
I had a broken belt on a dryer, called the guy, I said it's a broken belt on a dryer. I'm in the 70's and I know what a broken belt on the dryer does. But they can't do anything. They have to come out, look at it and say that it's a broken belt on a dryer, and I told them that already. If they could've brought a couple of belts with them, it would've been a done deal. It took basically a month. And then when the contractor put the belt in, it broke again. When I called up and said that there was smoke, they said, "Really?" I wasn't that dumb. It made a noise, broke, and smoke. They put the belt on backwards. It's the reason I got rid of the other warranty company I had.
American Home Shield is what I have now. I like that I can submit claims online as it's easier. I can put it in myself and I don't have to worry about being on hold. The air conditioning claim with them was so wonderful. The guy who came out from Union Express was fabulous, direct, to the point, professional, and courteous. He was right on the mark, told us that the unit was good, fixed the problem, left no mess. It was in-out and pleasant.

I spoke with a very nice and professional representative at American Home Shield when I submitted a claim for our furnace. We got a resolution within 48 hours, but 24 hours would’ve been better. The contractor was nice. They gave me a call ahead of time to let me know they were on the way, which was nice, too. That way, I could arrange things with my job. The technician was on time, seemed to be knowledgeable, and he was able to fix the issue in a relatively quick amount of time. Ever since he came by and fixed what he needed to, everything has been fine.

There was one issue with the dryer, then there was also an issue with the washer. These claims happened in two separate instances but within a short period of time. The contractor did both. Everything was fine. Furthermore, when I submitted the claims online, the process was simple and straightforward.

American Home Shield is awesome. They really did a great job for us. I like submitting claims on the phone because I don’t have to type. We’re in a little town called Brookings, Oregon, and we have not had anything except excellent responses and people showing up. They're professional, on time, and effective. They know their business.

The Carolina Air Heating & Cooling tech did a really good job. He was on time and got to the bottom of things, and it was real worth having them to come out. So far, we’ve had three claims with AHS. Two of them were preventive wherein we had pre-season checks and the other was an actual repair. With the repair, the contractor didn’t get to us as quickly as we thought. We certainly would have liked it if they had gotten there quicker than they did. We were down about 48 hours and it was in the middle of the heat wave when it was getting to be a 100 every day. So, it was bad for those couple of days.
If you’re down, you’re down. And with the air conditioning and heat, that matters. With some things such as dishwasher, you can wash the dishes by hand. There are things that you can do with most stuff. But when it comes to heating and air, getting somebody there on a timely basis when you’re completely down would be appreciated. The contractor's timeliness on that one was not fabulous, but they did a great job when they got there and it has worked ever since.

There was something wrong with electrical box and it was really easy to submit a claim. I just did it online and AHS sent a contractor who was very informative and really nice. They got it all settled. Everything's great now.

A-US Air Conditioning of Texas came out recently for a preseason checkup, and the process was very quick and easy. I just told them that I needed to see if there are any issues with the AC, and they scheduled a person to come out. The tech was very professional and timely. He checked everything and let us know of any additional issues outside the heating unit, and what they recommended was very helpful.
I submitted two claims at American Home Shield the same day, another one for the GE dishwasher. That was not so good, but we ended up figuring it out. Before the techs came out, I decided to check myself to see if something was clogged that was causing the dishwasher to not drain. Before the guy even started to look at it, he said, “Doing that voids the warranty." It wasn't like I took a bunch of parts off of it. I just had to take the actual filter grate off, which I just screwed right back in without any issues. The guy was almost hesitant on even trying to look at it further because he said that that would have been voided.
One of the guys that was with the main technician started looking underneath the sink, and he saw that it was a new garbage disposal that I had put in. They said that if I didn’t remove the cap that was within there for the dishwasher, then that was why it wasn’t draining. So, after they left, I was able to unplug the dishwasher and then find that cap to remove. Since then, it’s been fixed. It was just a little annoying with the guy that said he didn’t even wanna bother looking at it ‘cause the warranty’s voided.

There was a blockage in the ejector pump that we have, moving water from our basement to the main line. I noticed it when the alarm went off. Home Shield sent out Drain Masters and they were very friendly. They were able to find the problem right away, and they knew exactly what it was. They were able to get it fixed before the level got high enough to get water in the house. They got it quickly and they were on their way. They cleaned it quite a bit. We haven’t had any problems since.
On the other hand, we had two issues with our HVAC system and Home Shield said neither of those would be covered. I paid the $89 deductible on both of those issues, and then I paid 89 on the ejector pump. So in the grand scheme of things, if I were to have to pay for the deductible each time and the cost of the warranty, we wouldn’t be that far ahead. And now, if Home Shield covered those, then that might be something. We would probably just pay out-of-pocket if and when the need arises for it. If it were something that I was gonna get into myself, I’d probably read through the contract. Since it was just given to us, I didn’t know that. Knowing upfront before Home Shield sends someone out if the problem was covered or not would be good. I’m gonna save myself that $90 each time if it wasn’t a covered issue.

We’ve had American Home Shield for about three years and we're very happy with them. This is the fourth time we’ve used them. The contractors weren’t able to fix the washer. The parts were no longer available and they had to replace the washer.

Mack Plumbing was recently sent by American Home Shield for the garbage disposal, which wouldn't turn on. I made the claim online and they were able to come out in out day. The tech fixed it in about two minutes, and he was great.

I had a leak in the ceiling on the first floor of my house. I did a claim online with American Home Shield. Their website was fast, good, and easy to use. The contractors were really good. They called me almost immediately. As soon as I put in the website that I wanted a service, I received a call from the office. That was really good, and they came the same day. The leak has been fixed, then without me knowing, American Home Shield contacted some other company to close the ceiling. They had to do a hole but they called, and they did something. They already closed the ceiling. I'm very glad.

I had problems with my dishwasher and fridge, and American Home Shield sent a very professional appliance expert to fix both. When I called to file the claim, I tried to explain the whole situation to the representative, and during the time I talked to her, she wasn’t trying to figure out what was the problem. She just tried to somehow click on something on her computer that was more close to what I was trying to achieve. But there is no option that tailor to my problem. So, she got frustrated and she hung up on me. I had to call a second time and talk to another representative.
The second representative explained to me that they don’t have an option that’s close to my situation, and that what they can do is they can send the expert to fix my fridge and the dishwasher. And if they need a claim and need to approve to get the parts, the expert will do all the job. I told them I don’t wanna wait and I wanna solve the problem as quickly as possible. I compromised with their option and just went with it, and the end result is pretty good. The professional person that they hired to fix my stuff was very, very good. He fixed my problem, no question asked, and did whatever the parts replaced needed. He didn’t give me a hard time. He didn’t let me wait another one, two or three days. He got it done. So, I’m very happy with it. It was excellent.
American Home Shield has done a outstandingly great job to help me. I’m moving to my new home and there are a lot of moving issue, like the fridge and the dishwasher didn’t work. But at the end, they really tried their best to send me the profession person to help me out and fix the problem. And even though every single time, I have to pay the $89 fee, the speed that they can schedule me for some expert to come is very impressive. One way that American Home Shield can improve is if they could send the expert over and they could analyze the problem, and then charge the $89. Because for the end user like us, we don’t know if we paid the $89 and that professional person will be able to fix everything. I was a little concerned where that $89 goes to if they cannot fix my stuff. But every single time I deal with American Home Shield, I get a pretty good quality people to come to fix my stuff. So, it’s good.

When I filed a claim for a stove issue, AHS's claims process went great from start to finish. Sears came out and the tech checked everything. He said it was the two ovens with the range and he said the lock was broken. He tried to find a replacement part but the range was older. If they could not find that part, American Home Shield would be in contact with me to get a new range ordered. They did and I ordered the range through them.

Taking AHS' offer for a check-up for my furnace for the winter was easy. I heard from their contractor within two days. That time, I was not available and he was not available. A mutual time was in about a week but that was convenient. When he came, he said very little. He went and did his job. He was very professional and checked everything thoroughly. He said everything was fine and then had me sign that I had received the service.

I had an issue with my water heater and I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield. Using their site is easy. Sometimes, things don't apply but that's not a huge deal. For my heater claim, they sent a tech who was professional and very communicative with everything that was going on. We eventually got the problem solved and the water heater has been excellent since the repair.

We had an electric claim with Home Shield which turned out to be an issue with the breaker. The techs were really quick and finished the repair in 15 minutes. They were great. We've put in claims with AHS several times and we've always been very pleased. It's a very simple process. I have also recommended them to many friends.

It's been over five years that I've had American Home Shield, and they walk the talk. So, whatever they tell you they do, they do it. My garbage disposal wasn’t working, so I called them, and Prime Plumbing Services came out. They solved the problem right away. I think there was something stuck in there and they took it out.

I don't like not being able to have the techs that I want to come out with AHS. If I've had a tech that I used before and I really like them, I should be able to use their service because I have a relationship with those people. But then, using my home warranty wouldn't allow me to do that. Also, if I have two units, if we were to have both serviced, it would be two service calls. I don't like that. Our house is pretty new and we've used things a couple of times. One time, I had the bulb go out in my microwave. I can't change it on my own and I have to have a tech do it. The bulb wasn't under warranty so I had to pay for it.
More recently, United Air Temp Heating & Air Conditioning came out for AHS to service our claim for our AC unit. The tech was really kind and answered questions that I had. He went around and he looked at everything for me to make sure the unit was cleaned out and what all needed to be done. He replaced whatever part needed to be replaced and just did his job.

American Home Shield sent me an email and said, "Fall is coming. You got to check your heater. It's worth it." I just bought the home so I replied and said to come check it out. They replied to me within a couple of hours and set an appointment. The guy came out two days later. He inspected the heater and said everything was fine. I'd tell others who ask that I'd get AHS. Being that the house is new to me, having it is very valuable. And if I find an issue, I would call them.

When I renewed the warranty for the year with American Home Shield, they said they offered the routine maintenance on the air conditioner. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have thought of it. The process was very seamless and I'm impressed with them. AHS is a good company. It's very transparent. Their website is very easy to use and it's really clear. It defaults to a vendor but then you can click a dropdown menu and choose another vendor if you want. I've only had the contractors come out twice and whoever was assigned, the vendor who came was very professional, had the marked truck or vehicle and wore the shirt with the emblem or logo on it, which seemed very professional.

The washing machine was leaking inside and the leak started coming out of the bottom. It stopped working completely and then, the dryer was making a noise. I contacted American Home Shield and they got somebody scheduled to get out here. The guy who worked on it was good and it turned out they had to replace some kind of hose inside. He was very professional. When he got ready to go, he told me to give him a call if I had any more problems with it and that I could call him directly.
After he left, when it was washing, it was kind of out of balance and so, I called. He said he would get right back over here and balance it, but my grandson happened to show up and he did it. So, I called the guy back and told him he didn’t have to come. I told him my grandson just had to adjust the stand on the bottom but he said he would come right out and get it fixed. AHS has been great. I just had a plumbing issue that came up over the weekend, and they scheduled somebody to come out first thing Monday morning. I had to call them twice and both times, they responded very quickly to the issues. So, I would recommend AHS to anybody.

American Air fixed my AC problem and the tech was excellent. He had to reset something out in the unit itself. I'm glad they were the company sent this year and not the one they sent last year. That time, I was in the heat of summer and spent 2 weeks without my air. Supposedly, the tech couldn't get the new thermostat for 10 days and I kept getting the runaround from them. They kept saying, "It's on order. It's on order." And that I was first on the list when it comes in. I was, "Yeah, right." Then, they finally installed after a month. So when I called this year and put the order, I prayed it wasn't the same company. I even called them to get some information to see if the AC might still be under warranty and they said, "Oh, we don't know. We don't keep records back that far." In spite of that, everything worked out great this time. And AHS has been great too.

I submitted a claim over the phone with American Home Shield. They gave me a direct number. Passion Service Pro came out pretty fast. It was the next week after I did the claim. Then when they came out to diagnose the issue, it was the following Monday when they came out to fix it once the part came in. It wasn’t too long. The technicians were pleasant. One came out to diagnose and then the other one came with the part to fix it. They were both professional. Everything is working fine now. AHS is good. Everything was to my satisfaction. The time was pretty good, too.

I’ve been with American Home Shield for under a year and I’ve made two claims. I had a check-up for my furnace and I submitted the claim online, which I prefer over calling. The contractor was scheduled within a few days and when he came, he found some replaceable air filters and replaced my air filter while he was working on it. He was efficient and it took him half an hour.

J & J Mechanical came a few days after I filed a claim to AHS about an air conditioner issue. They were very good. However, there was a bit of miscommunication. We ended up working with them, but not through AHS. They said that they didn't wanna submit the claim to AHS, but they would replace our unit. We needed it to be fixed, so that's how we dealt with them. We've sorted it out with them and they have completed my claim. We ended up just eating the cost ourselves. We've had other repairs that have been done on the house by different contractors and all the times that we've been contracted with American Home Shield has been fine.

I like the peace of mind and convenience of having American Home Shield. This is my second residence with them. However, in relation to our furnace repair, more communication would be helpful, as to what's covered and what’s not covered or is it going to be replaced. Then on my microwave claim, the contractor didn’t have the right part when he came out initially, even though he knew what microwave I had. That was inconvenient. We had to reschedule another day, which means I have to take another day off from work or schedule around it. Other than that, he was super polite, and everything else was great.

Our hot water heater was not working. I submitted a claim online and AHS's website was very easy to navigate. However, I had an error message and I called. The contractor had an opening so they were able to come out that day and fix the problem. The contractor that came out was great. My wife met him at the house and the experience was all good. Since then, the hot water heater is functioning the way it's supposed to. We would have been taking cold showers and laundry, but we didn't because it was fixed in a few hours.

Our most recent claim with American Home Shield was with the central air conditioning. The outside unit was shutting off and apparently, there were a few things wrong with the air conditioning unit. The coils were completely rusted out and leaking Freon. And then there was also some other thing that had to be replaced. I went through the phone to report the issue, and there was an automated process that found me as a customer and my address. It gave me options on what to select as my issue. It was very automated. So, the only time I’ve spoken to someone has been regarding a bill. Otherwise, it was a phone automation that seemed to work fine.
If I’m calling American Home Shield about my bill, the reps are terrible, and it seems to be because the services must be offshored to another country. I have a very difficult time with the people answering the call as far as them really understanding what I’m asking about. So, whatever type of calls are going to that group are not very satisfactory.
The contractor that came out from Grady’s Air Conditioning & Heating Services was very informative. While he was in the attic, he took pictures of what he was going to be telling me and he came down and showed me the pictures. I have plenty of questions because I’m becoming an air conditioning expert now, and not because I want to but I just have continuous issues here. And he took his time and patience to make sure I understood what was going on. He had to come three times. The first time, he came to evaluate it, but there was no time in the day to do what needed to be done, and he had to order the equipment. Then the second time, they came to install all of it. And then as soon as it was installed, the very next day, the same thing was happening with the outside unit turning off. So, he had to come out again.
I should be pretty annoyed by that, but he made it not so bad because he was professional. But apparently, the guys that installed the new equipment didn’t blow out the drain pipe like they should have. And so, the same thing was happening again because they had skipped that one step. But I like Grady’s, and everything’s fine now.
After all those incidents, I had to take off of work four solid days because the customer is on the company’s schedule, not vice versa. And so, all they could do is tell you they’ll be here in a range of five hours. I work from Houston, so if they call me at 8 o’clock and tell me they’re gonna be here at noon, I can’t hardly drive to Houston and then drive back home. It’s an hour to and an hour back. So, it would be pointless for me to try to go to work and then turn around and come back home. But the inability to be able to really have a scheduled appointment versus this range, it cost me a lot of money. It cost me a lot of PTO and it shouldn’t be like that. They called in advance and said they were coming. But that’s gotta be a big problem for a lot of people. And luckily, I won’t get fired in my position from missing work for four days, but a lot of people would. They would just have to suffer with whatever the problem is.

There are long wait times to get to somebody when we call, sometimes for an hour. But once we get past the phone call wait time and eventually talk to somebody, it pays off to just stay patient. We had issues with our oven-microwave combo and a cooktop where the burners on the cooktop kept sparking when we tried to light them. It would not stop even after the flame was ignited. Also, the microwave went out. After my wife submitted the claim online, we got someone in less than a week. The All Brands Appliance technicians were great and the last one that installed the cooktop was awesome. He had to come back the next day after since he had to get some extra parts to install the downdraft on the cooktop. The claim has been completed and everything is great and working 100%.

We’ve had our air condition/heating unit replaced last summer, and the heater wasn’t working. The claims process was simple. I went online and answered some questions. Within an hour, the refrigeration people called. It was so fast. I couldn’t be happier. They came out and they were excellent. It was just the gas thing needing to be turned on. American Home Shield was very professional and quick. I’m so glad we switched to them. I'm totally satisfied.

A while back, I had a gentleman come out and look at the air conditioner, and I was told that it wasn't covered. In order to fix the problem with the air conditioner, they quoted $1,800 and it wasn't covered by the warranty. The gentleman that came out said that they poked a hole in the line from the siding. So, therefore, it wasn't wear and tear. Then I asked another gentleman if he could look at it and he said he didn't see anything that was busted or any line that was damaged from the siding, so he recommended that I get a second opinion.
The first time that I filed a claim, I spoke to an individual. But when I was having a problem with the heater, I went online. I felt I would get helped quicker. Submitting online was short, quick, to the point and I would do it again. All Appliance Service came out for my heater the same day I submitted the claim and the tech told me what he thought it was. He said, "I'm gonna show you how to get through until Monday 'cause I squeezed you in today. That way, you can still use the heater. And then, Monday, I'll come back and clean the coils, but at least you'll be able to use the heater until then." Now, everything seems to be running smoothly.

AHS advertised a winter special for furnaces. We had our furnace cleaned and checked out before winter through them and that went great. I scheduled service through the internet and AHS emailed me an appointment. The techs from the contractor who was sent, Eagle Air, were nice. They ran a check on my furnace, heated it up and turned it back on.

Submitting claims is super easy and a seamless process. We just go online, fill in the information for the claim, and make our deductible payment. Within normally a couple of hours, we get a notice of who the contractor is that's coming out, and then the contractor calls to schedule the time with us. We like all the contractors that had come out to do the maintenance on the house as well.
We are in the process of selling our home and our washer had an issue with the lid and it was also off balance. We called American Home Shield and they had Reliable Property Solutions come out to take care of fixing our washer lid and setting the washer back in balance. At that time, we had 3 different things that we needed done and the contractors were rather quick so we had it all done within the week. We've been with American Home Shield for about 9 years and we've been so satisfied. Surprisingly, everything went so well that we don't have anything. They are a really good company to work with. So when we decide to buy another house, we're gonna look at going back and trying to do a home warranty through them again.

I like submitting claims with Home Shield online. It's very easy. I don't have to think about it all the time. Just, "Oh, I need to do this," then I go on and do it. And then I get a text message and then a phone call. Our claim on our AC unit went well. Within 24 hours, Three Brothers A/C - Heating came and resolved the issue straightaway. My husband was home then, but I had talked with the contractor before and we've always had good interactions.

I like everything about American Home Shield, so I've kept them so long. The customer service is great. I call to submit claims since speaking with a representative is more personal with me. I had tried email and sometimes that doesn’t work right as I can’t word it like I want. Sometimes I have to stay on the phone and wait, wait, wait, but that’s okay. At least they get the job done. Then when the service technicians come out, they are really good and I'm impressed with their knowledge. They explain to me what they're doing as well. I would leave them alone but they would come in and tell me what they're doing, and that pleases me ‘cause I have no idea what they're doing.
Carter’s Air Conditioning Service came out for the air conditioner and the guy was thorough with everything. He has been out here before and I enjoyed him so much. He left me alone and I left him alone. Then there's only one contractor that I have had that I did not like, but it may had just been me or the time of day that he was out here so that’s okay. I just take a lot of things into consideration that it could be my fault.
I brag so much on Facebook about American Home Shield. I tell about how good and how fast they have someone out here. In fact, one night, I was talking to a cousin and she said that she wanted something done to her garage door right at that time. I told her to call American Home Shield, and she said, “Oh my gosh, I forgot I had it.” So, I’m glad I reached out to her. It is amazing.

A skylight was out. It was some lighting in my kitchen. I went online and requested AHS for someone to come out to look at the electric work and they gave me the name of the company and the phone number to contact. Unfortunately, according to the electrician from Turner Electrical & Lighting that came out, that was not covered. I was disappointed to know that, so I was still on my own. I paid $100 and it just took less than five minutes for him to say that it was not covered. But he was fine. He did his job.

I was told some false information by our home inspector about our thermostat. Foxcroft came out and said that our home inspector had no idea what he was talking about, and changed the switch and it worked. The guy was professional. They said it would take 24 hours, but I had called because I have two small kids and we had no heat, and it was below 40 degrees. They came out that evening, so it took about 12 hours. I did the claim online at American Home Shield and it was pretty easy.

Our dishwasher no longer worked. I called AHS about it and their customer service was okay. The claim process was fine and they assigned Sears to us. Their tech was really nice and he came out three days later. Our dishwasher was unfixable so we got a new one.

My furnace was out and when I submitted a claim with AHS, the techs came out quickly. Aside from that, AHS also sent out contractors who replaced the compressor on my air conditioner that's outside and I was happy with that. But when my dryer wasn’t heating up, the contractors would come out every two weeks and I kept telling them that it was not drying. They replaced this part and that part, then somebody else came and they also sent out a senior technician. It was a mess and they came out at least seven times before AHS decided to go ahead and give me a voucher or let me get another dryer.
I eventually got a new dryer, but the experience was unreal. I was taking my time off of work then when these people come out, they give you a four-hour window of time, so here I was taking four hours repeatedly which was ridiculous. Other than that, I've been with AHS since 2009 and I never looked at anybody else. But you'll have a hard time getting out of the contract with them. I knew my contract started up again in August and sometime in May I'm gonna start looking for somebody else.

The other home warranty we had was crappy. We had to almost have a fight with them to get something done and we wound up even paying money three different times on a stove, on a microwave, and on a washer. It also said under that warranty that if it couldn't be fixed, they would replace it with a comparable model, but they didn’t even wanna do that. So I started looking for a different warranty service and the folks at American Home Shield that I talked to seemed so much more pleasant and willing to provide us with the coverage we needed. We filled out all the stuff and told them what we needed. We’ve been with them ever since.
Every claim we’ve submitted to AHS has been over the phone and that process is easier for me. We’ve had three different issues since we’ve had them and they’ve been right on the spot and take care of them with no questions asked. The contractors have been pretty good. The Action Plumbing, when they installed our water heater, made a couple of mistakes. But the damage was so extensive from our previous water heater that the bottom had blown out. The new water heater had to be removed because all our tiles needed to be removed. Then the contractors that rebuilt our house reinstalled the water heater and made the correction on it. So now, the overflow valve dumps into our crawl space beneath the house instead of where the line runs in. Other than that, everything has been just fine. American Home Shield has been above and beyond.

My washer at my rental wasn't working right one time. I submitted a claim to AHS and their reps were very quick and up-to-date. AAA Appliance went to service the claim. I submitted a claim about a dishwasher and the way that AHS processed everything was very nice and quick. But the replacement items are not up-to-standard and I feel forced to get an upgrade to match what I have, instead of getting a replacement. But the replacement items are not up-to-standard and none of their options will allow a wood panel to be attached, which is what I have. I don't wanna put the stainless steel on white wood. The only thing I can do is to pay $320 to pick the next one item that is available for a wood panel installation which is one thing that I'm really annoyed about. It's my first time putting in a claim and I have a mixed feeling about it.
I'm impressed with their prompt response to my questions but my least favorite is calling and waiting on the phone for a long time just to get somebody to talk to. The online process is perfect though and I like it. They also offered to inspect the furnaces before winter and I took advantage of it. The service guy checked all three furnaces and everything was up-to-date.

When I submit a claim to American Home Shield, the service is very good. There was one time particularly when the company came out and the technician didn't have that much of a knowledge. But then when I put in a request, American Home Shield sent out another technician without any charge, and they took care of the problem. I used to have American Home Shield about three years go, but I was having a lot of issues back then. So I went with another company, and I realized that I was better off with American Home Shield, so I came back with them. And ever since I signed back with them, they have really improved a lot. When I put a service request in, they contact me right away and give me appointment within one or two days.

KingFred Companies looked at the garage door, and they fixed it really quickly. It was something simple. They were the same ones that worked on the ceiling fan on our porch, too. AHS' contractor, A-1 Quality Care came out to the house for an air conditioner issue. The air conditioner was still working and the techs told me that the issue was the thermostat but it wasn't. It actually another issue. The first tech was really nice but then the second one was really rude so I had to take him out of my house. He gave me attitude. I contacted another company and the tech who came from there was really nice. He tried really hard. My the AC condenses water that has to go down a pipe that goes all the way to my sink. That pipe was clogged. The AC has a sensor and if it detects water trying to go up fast, the AC would stop working. The water was stuck because of dirt in the pipe and I fixed that issue myself.
I have three properties and I used to have AHS on all of them. Recently, the warranty on one of my properties expired. I got a call from a rep and he gave me a special discount to renew my insurance with AHS on the property. I didn't have any card to pay at that time so I told him to call me at the end of that day. He never called me again. Still, AHS has been okay overall. I just go to my computer and it has been really easy to submit claims.

The sewer lines were leaking into the basement. I had the bathroom partially fixed a couple years ago and the sewer lines upstairs were replaced but they didn’t go down to the basement and replace those lines. It wasn’t part of the deal but now, it has been replaced. The contractors were great and I wouldn’t hesitate to use American Home Shield.

There were some receptacles that weren’t working on the outside of the house, and then there was a switch that wasn’t responding to the on and off on the inside. Electrical Service Professionals came out and there were no problems at all. Both the contractors were very professional and efficient. They asked me if I had any questions or concerns. They were neat and they were outta there in lickety-split. I did the claim online at American Home Shield which was much easier.

We bought a used house that has a lot of furnaces, air conditioners, and other things. I thought to give American Home Shield a shot and see if it'll protect us from having any financial hardships. The only thing I don't like is that I need to look back and make sure I know everything that's covered. They should send a reminder email saying what's covered. That's where people get into the most trouble with these companies. They think the company has something covered, it breaks, the company doesn't cover it, and they get mad at the company. AHS can help themselves just by being over communicative on what customers are covered for.
I called my first claim in, but I've done it online since then. I like how easy it is and how text automated it is. You know when people are coming out and you know when the claim is in. It takes two seconds to submit the claim and the people call right after they get the thing. And in terms of the contractors coming out, they've all been on it.

The washer wasn't cycling recently and within a couple of days, On Time Plumbing was able to come out. They took care of everything, and it was beautiful. American Home Shield is professional and I would keep them. They're courteous, they're funny and they're quick.

The first time we had American Home Shield, it was chosen by our Realtor when we bought a new house. And we were happy with the service that we got. So when we moved, we bought it again on the new house. When we moved again, we bought it again. And then this time, we did the same thing because we had good experiences. I've always did my claims over the phone previously. But this last time, I did it online, and it was much easier.
In the past in Florida, we had an issue with a contractor. But that wasn't American Home Shield's fault. It was the contractor's fault. They tore something up and didn't wanna fix it, but they did end up fixing what they broke. But the contractor that came out for the oven have been great. They've called me in advance, and they've been very accommodating with the time. It's Wright Appliance and they had to reschedule when they got the parts in. They called me immediately and let me know that my technician had been injured and was gonna be out for a couple of days, so they were sending somebody else at a different time, and they did a great job. American Home Shield has a great contractor here in the area and they really wanna do a good job. So they're doing it right.

I’ve been with American Home Shield for eight months and I’ve had claims for the washer and the oven. I went online and did the sign-up process. Then, I clicked on request service. They let me know the company that I would be working with, and that company gave me a call. The washer, which was repaired first, was not going through the rinse cycle, and the part was ordered in a timely manner and the washer was repaired very quickly. The convection oven stopped operating totally and something happened to one of the fans, which was repaired in a very timely manner. I’m not having any problem out of either one of them and I am satisfied with the work.

Schubert's Appliance and Repair sent wonderful guys. I filed a claim to American Home Shield for my washing machine that was not functioning. And then, I misunderstood the American Home Shield representative. I thought they were telling me that I had to get a new washing machine. But then, I understood that that one could be fixed. And Schubert's Appliance had gone ahead and ordered the parts, which I'm glad they did because when I talked to them, and I talked to American Home Shield again, I understood that I didn't have to buy a new washing machine.
At the time, my husband was going through a lot of illness. And so, I needed the washing machine really ASAP and couldn't quite get there. The gentleman that could fix it called me back and I was wondering, "Well, do you need the parts? Are you gonna fix it, or are you gonna get a new washing machine?" He said the part just came in. I thought it was wonderful because I really needed that washing machine fixed and ready to go due to the health issues that we were having at home. So, he came out, and they had to replace the drum, and I saw that the drum was broken at the back. It just cracked. And he was sharp and on the button. He got the parts, and it was fixed before you could say diddly squat. It works perfectly since then. It's like a new washing machine.

I needed a gas line replaced on the furnace. I filed a claim to American Home Shield on a Friday and the contractor came out on a Monday. He was on time, very professional and knowledgeable. He wasn’t able to fix it though. It wasn’t something that was covered under the warranty. He told us it would cost us $300 to fix it. At this point, we’re just gonna wait to get it fixed. He said it wasn’t an emergency situation. I've had other claims with AHS and those went very good.

Our garbage disposal was inoperative and would not drain because there was some clogging. Home Shield had a decent enough online claim process. But there was something about the form that could have been a little easier. It was something towards the end of being able to get more specifics like the comment section. There was something formulated that I thought could have been a little more intuitive. Otherwise, the process was fine.
Home Shield sent out Wind Bender Mechanical Services for this claim. It took a little bit longer for them to reach out then it was gonna be several days out before they were able to make it. It was not an emergency but there was a very dire need on the drain issue. They were able to expedite and push up the appointment. A technician came the next day. They also texted and called when their technician was within half an hour out. The tech was able to diagnose the problem and it turned out that there was a piece of glass that was jamming the grinders. That was what caused everything to shut down and was causing our sink not to drain stuff. The tech got that fixed.

American Home Shield is fine as far as submitting a claim. The people that I've talked to on the phone are nice. Recently the sink wouldn’t drain, and the guys from Wyatt Brothers came out with their snake. They got it to drain, and then a couple of weeks went by and we started having the same issue. So, I called again, the same guy came out and they got it. They ran their snake down there and got it drained, but he led me to believe that maybe their tool wasn’t big enough and that American Home Shield would have to get another plumber. Nonetheless, I liked him. He was talkative and was not just a stick-in-the-mud. He did what he could do to help me with my problem and then told me he wasn’t sure if he really fixed the problem.

I had a plumbing issue claim with AHS and it went fine. The hot water heater was 16 or 17 years old and it developed a very slow leak. It was sitting on a pan, so it drained. I filed the claim online and the process was simple. Summit Plumbing came out and our interaction was fine. I liked the people. They installed the hot water heater and it makes hot water now. That's all anyone can ask for.

Their website was easy to use when I put a claim for my heat and AC unit that was out. It said that within 24 hours, a contractor will come and that was met. The contractor did the job that I needed done. Everything is fine now.

The toilet kept running, the shower head was all messed up and one of the faucets kept dripping. All American Plumbing and Rooter, the contractor, came out and fixed everything I needed them to. Everything was excellent.

I've had problems with some of AHS' other contractors that have been in the house. They had one that came to the house to fix something very simple but broke a very expensive appliance. I was told they could not fix it. American Home Shield was of no help too. They just said they could not warranty what their contractors did in our home. They were the ones that hired them and sent them out. They told me I had to go to the actual contractor that came out but that contractor would not take my calls. I had to go through filing a small claims court and everything against this contractor and got nowhere.
I reached out to American Home Shield further down the road and had to go to higher-up management in order to get this item fixed, which they did. It was a big deal ordeal and took a long time to get it done. I was very upset with American Home Shield because they blew me off. I was told from upper management they no longer use that contractor. When I tried to have them served when I was filing a small claims court claim, which American Home Shield was the one that gave me their address, they could not be served because they were no longer there. The contractor kinda disappeared. But with my claim where GE Appliances came, it went very well. They were able to fix the issue. Everything went very smoothly. The rep was good when I called the claim in.

My washing machine was not working. It would turn on but it would not get through the cycle. I quit calling the rep because I was on hold for 60 or 70-minute, which was too frustrating. So, I went online and within 24 hours, I had a response. I was ready to change policies dealing with the representative, but I am so much happier doing it online. I've been an American Home Shield customer for 10 years and I've had claims from the past dealing with the representative that went on for 6 or 8 weeks. But since I've started doing it online, it was all resolved within weeks.
The contractor came out a couple of days later and he was very nice and very knowledgeable. The washing machine is working now. I don't have to go to a Laundromat. I hope AHS could improve their hold time. They need more customer service reps to answer the phone because not everybody has access to computers. I've had bad experiences but the last two claims I've done online has been so much easier.

The stove went out on my rental property in San Antonio and Gen Tech Appliances Repair came out. I had everything going through my tenant for them to communicate in time but I still got emails that were telling me when they were coming out. The only issue was they didn’t have the parts in stock and they had to order it. It took about 3 weeks for them to get the parts but when they came back out, the oven seems steady and functions like a brand new stove. I love American Home Shield. I’ve used it multiple times and have been satisfied with it. I would recommend them as well.

We had an issue with our dryer that wasn't heating. We called American Home Shield and they located a service provider and sent TBL Appliance Services to us within a couple of hours. Since then, the dryer has been working well. I'd definitely recommend others to AHS especially if they have some older appliances in their home which are in between the factory warranty and the appliance being half in age.

I got AHS since I bought my home four years ago. I used them a few times here and there, and the response I got from them was amazing. Everything went really, really great during my last claim. I do my claims online because it's easier. I placed it in the morning last Wednesday, and they had given me an appointment for Friday. But then, given the weather conditions and the fact that I have a young daughter the technician called me and said, “I know you have a daughter. I cannot let you have cold water only and the low temperature.” He went above and beyond. He came, diagnosed really quick and fixed it even quicker. Everything is working great.

American Home Shield sent someone out not long after I submitted my claim online. The tech came out and knew my oven wasn't fixable. Its bottom was on fire and it burned up. I was told I had to get a new one. After I got the new oven, I sent AHS the receipt. I called yesterday and got approved and I should get my check within 10 to 14 days. All in all, I did fine with them.

The gas valve on my furnace quit working. I filed a claim online late Friday night. Given the weekend, it was first thing Monday morning when they called me. Someone from De Hart Plumbing and Heating came and they were phenomenal. The contractor was there a good hour. On Friday, I was having the furnace checked to get ready for the season, and the contractor was there for 45 minutes. And that was when he discovered what the problem was because the furnace wasn’t kicking on like it was supposed to. It took a week and a half to get the new furnace in, and then they were there the better part of the day. The furnace works wonderful. It’s nice to have it, especially since it got cold. I highly recommend AHS. I am so thankful that I looked into it and got it when I did.

The center rail in our refrigerator quit working because our refrigerator wouldn't close. American Home Shield sent Jones Family Appliance Repair, and my experience went fine. It was pretty straightforward. They came out and acknowledged that it was the center rail that was bad, said they would order another one and left, and about a week later, they came back and put the new one in. They fixed it in like 30 seconds. It took about a week, which wasn't excellent. However, I understand that they gotta order the part. They can't have every part for everything. I'm certainly not upset but it would have been nice had it been one day.

All-American Services of Georgia did an excellent service for our furnace that wasn’t working. The tech came out, had to get a part to do a replacement, and came back out the next day. Since the repair, the furnace has been fine. American Home Shield's service is usually good too. There have been a couple of times that it seems that it took an excessive amount of time to get someone to come out. But that could just be whatever’s going on at the time. Still, this last one was super and I didn't expect that it was quick.

I filed a claim for my washer that was not washing. The first contractor that American Home Shield sent was absolutely awful, but Able Appliance was great and American Home Shield has been easy to use. When the tech from Able Appliance came in, he got the problem taken of right away. He was great but the washer wound up being replaced.

What a difference a good contractor makes. American Home Shield dispatched Michael from Airmax heating and cooling to diagnose the problem. He was professional and ordered the part. Trish from the office was professional and patient every time I called to check status. She scheduled a tech for the fix in less than a week. Tyler the tech came to fix the furnace. On October 16, 2019, I placed a service request for my gas furnace. It was making a very loud airplane noise when turned on. On Friday October 18th, Fast Response Heating and Cooling tech arrived. He said the Inducer Motor was shot as he called it. He advised he'd be ordering the part and advised I could pay him $120 outside of the $100 service call I'd paid to speed up the process. I refused since this is not American Shield's process. Fast Response advised if I did not pay I could be waiting over a month. This entire exchange was strange to me so I logged in to my account and found my service request had been closed out instead of the part being ordered.
American Shield told me they would not replace the part because according to Fast Response the part had not failed yet so they do not consider the furnace to be malfunctioning according to the contract. The furnace is so loud you'd have to cover your ears and they consider that normal. I sent them a video. Fast Response said it's AHS refusing the repair as they told them the barrings in the inducer motor is going bad and the unit is failing. When I asked where in the contract it states it's not covered they could not point me to it. I have called over 4 times. The reps advised they will escalate and call me back, but no one does. They kept blaming each other and AHS offers me a second opinion that I must pay for as if that would change the diagnosis.
Well the unit has now failed to put out heat and I have escalated via computer, phone and email to executive at AHS with no response from anyone at American Home Shield. I have called Fast Response who advised they'd call me back to schedule an appointment. It's been two days with no call back from Fast Response either. I call and get voicemail as no one is answering the phones and it's getting cold outside. I'd suggest anyone run from this company.
The contractors they send to your home have a high rate of complaints with the BBB. Take a look at Fast Response Heating and Cooling. The BBB put out an alert on them saying "BBB files indicate this business has a pattern of complaints from consumers alleging: failure to provide or complete repair services, failure to honor warranties, and unsatisfactory customer service. BBB wrote to the business on September 9, 2019 requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving."
American Home Shield hires these kind of contractors for a reason. It keeps them from honoring their contract with us. You can't appeal to their sense of ethics and fair business practice. This company plays the game of big business wins and customers lose after taking your money for years while tripping you up on words, strong arming you into taking less and frustrating you into giving up! Peace of mind is definitely NOT what they are selling!! They make you feel like you're dealing with the enemy and he has everyone on his side so you're going to lose before you start playing his game and he will punish you for daring to complain about fair play...RUN!!

Flash Garage Door Service came out and did a great job. There really wasn’t much wrong except for the switch that allows the garage door to open and close. They replaced that and they were wonderful. But when I had people come out for the refrigerator, it took three people to come out and fix it. The man who came the third time fixed it really well though. It was some sort of design issue with Samsung. I went online and found how to solve it. Then I sent the technician to the internet and he figured it out.
I also had a microwave that was supposed to be replaced by American Home Shield and since I have relatively new appliances and they all match, I wanted to make sure that they were a GE profile. A woman from Home Shield sent me the email and the pictures and asked what size the frame needed to be. Evidently, the frame was important. You need to know how big the whole is so that you can put it around the new microwave. I had a contractor measure it and I sent it to her but she never did anything about it.
American Home Shield sent me some stocks of what could actually be used but I never heard another word. I've emailed and I’ve tried to contact several times by phone but I’m very busy and American Home Shield takes forever. You could be on hold for hours. I held several times for 45 minutes to an hour for somebody to talk to me. But there’s just so much going on that I finally just got tired of dealing with it. However, I really would like to figure out how to resolve this microwave thing. I don’t know what I should do, whether I should have somebody come out again, condemn it and start the process all over or if I should just give up. It’s going on almost a year now and I keep using a microwave that I had in my garage as a backup microwave. I use it as my primary microwave but it doesn’t really work in my kitchen. But because my husband’s passed away and it’s just me, I can get by without this.
I’ve been a realtor for years and I still recommend my people to American Home Shield better than Old Republic or some of the others but they do need to work on their customer service. They have gotten real overwhelming with using people out of the United States that are difficult to talk to and difficult to get information from. Their biggest flaw is they have too many people and not enough people dealing with those people. It’s very complicated.

American Home Shield is easy to work with. They’re professional and they have their people out on time. Their contractors are also professional and courteous. I find a lot of value in having the warranty. I don’t have to go through the internet trying to find somebody. Then if somebody comes out and fixes something and it’s still not fixed, I could still follow up and they’ll send them out again because I have a 60-day follow up where you don’t have to pay the fee again. Yesterday, I had people here for a follow up on my washing machine and they were going to order more parts because it’s still making a noise. It was a good experience.

I call in to submit my claims to American Home Shield. And it's the easiest, but it’s turning out to be the biggest pain. I have a hard time understanding half the people that answer the phone. And it’s hard for me to get across what I’m trying to portray as well. Also, I’m not totally happy about my first claim and all the gray area writing on what these contractors can and can’t do. We’ve only been with AHS since the summer. The first time we had a leak coming from our second story going into our basement, and the way that my contract apparently is written, the plumber was not allowed to pull down any duct work to do what he needed to do. So, I had to pay an extra $130 for him to do that.
I wasn’t exactly happy about that because it was my impression when my wife and I signed up that we had the $75 to have them come and look at it, and it was either gonna be fixed or replaced. And there was no mention about potentially having additional expenses to come out of pocket. With the first claim, the contractor came and looked at it, and I’m assuming they got back a hold of AHS and said what needed to be done, and then they called me back and said, “Well, the way your contract is written, we’re not allowed to pull the duct work down. We can, but American Home Shield is not gonna cover it.”
With my most recent claim on our hot water tank that stopped working, it was the same guy that came back and did the work. And he even said that that is something that they have noticed with American Home Shield because it wasn’t the first time that he essentially had to charge someone to do something that wasn’t covered in the contract. It seemed like there’s a lot of gray area. I get that they can’t put every little thing in the pamphlet initially when you’re looking at it. But when we signed up we said, “Okay, well, worst case scenario each incident, we’re only gonna be out $75.” There’s a lot of he said, she said. But the contractor said that our contract stated that they are not allowed to move any duct work to do any repairs. To a certain point, we know what’s covered. We just don’t know what’s not covered.

I filed a claim with American Home Shield for a Samsung ice maker which was really a Samsung issue. It was a horrible ice maker which Samsung is being sued for. Sears was the one who was doing all the repair. They were on time and cooperative. Now, they have replaced the entire mechanism including the brain. And hopefully, that'll work.

Mid South Appliance Repair went out to service our refrigerator that wasn't cooling properly. The tech said the issue was the dampener, it was a custom part for the brand and model that we have, which he had to order and replace. Once he replaced it, the ref started cooling properly again. His work was great. He was professional, courteous and timely. The ref is still working, so he did a good job.

I had a burner that was coming on and going on high on its own and I called American Home Shield. I went online and I was able to schedule an appointment for almost immediately. I submitted it Sunday afternoon and the contractor was here on Monday morning by 8:30. The technician was very professional, nice and knowledgeable. He made a call to AHS to see if they wanted to cover it or not and they did, so he ordered the parts. He’s coming back next Monday to replace switches in the panel.
I had claims this year for the stove, oven, microwave and washing machine. I wish AHS had an area where you could say what the actual issue was because I know there have been times in the past where if the repair person had known that, they might have brought the easy fix with them and not have to come back. When my father had a Sears home maintenance contract, we always talked to a person or even online, there was a spot to say what the problem was. So, a lot of times, the repairman would call before he left, in case he needed to pick up parts before he headed our way.

Our dryer was making a very loud banging noise. And then the soap section of the washing machine where I would put the detergent, wasn't rinsing correctly. I submitted a claim with AHS and did it online because it was much more convenient. They sent a technician and he made adjustments that he needed to make, and then he suggested that I also use a dishwasher cleaner. Everything went fine for my claim.

The heat wouldn’t come on when we turned it on. I called American Home Shield to file a claim. They were excellent. The contractor from A-US Air was very professional and very nice. We had a leak from the upstairs bathroom that came down over right at our kitchen sink. I made a claim for it online and this time, it worked out fine. A lot of times, it takes a while. We called Friday and a contractor was out Monday. Fortunately, it wasn’t a really bad leak. In the past, when we had something that really needed to be taken care of much quicker, that didn't always work out so well.
The plumber that came out said to give it 30 days to make sure that what he did took care of the leak. He resolved the problem and the only thing we got left is a little hole in the drywall where he was checking up to see what the problem was. I thought I read somewhere that American Home Shield would have somebody to come out eventually to fix that. You get the warranty company takes care of it. That’s a follow-up but obviously, it isn’t.
We’ve been with American Home Shield for at least 15 years since we came up here. Nobody really has a perfect record and once you’re with somebody, you kinda stay with them. I think most people buy a warranty for the possibility of when an appliance can’t be fixed and it has to be replaced. But we haven’t really tested them on the replacement part when an appliance actually goes bad. If it’s an emergency type of thing, though, American Home Shield should be pretty much almost try to get somebody out here right away.

The furnace wouldn’t turn on. It wouldn’t ignite. I called American Home Shield and they sent out Myers to analyze it. They figured out that the part that they needed was so expensive. They just replaced the furnace. They were very good, very professional, prompt, and thorough.

To submit a claim for my leaking bathtub, I called American Home Shield and got a recording. It said I would get contacted within the next 24 hours, but I called the contractor at 6 o'clock in the morning when I knew they opened up. They scheduled and came out the next day. I asked the lady if they could come out after 3 o'clock. They were on time and called before they came out. I was at work and I said that I'd be home in five minutes. By the time I came home, they were here and did what they needed to do.
I have an older home and asked for somebody out who knows how to fix older plumbing. The younger people don't know how to do older home plumbing. Somebody with experience with older homes was sent and he brought somebody else with him so that he can train them on how to do it. They did an awesome job. Having AHS is convenient and easy for me because I don't make a lot of money. I don't always have money to pay for something that's expensive to fix and it's easier for me to borrow $75 than $300. I always recommend AHS. I've been them for some years now and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

We had a lot of rain in Illinois, and all the streets was flooded. I called in with American Home Shield for our sump pump. The claims rep told me that they were gonna give the contractor 24 hours to contact me, and if they haven’t contacted me, then she would give me the approval to get an outside vendor. And that’s what happened. This particular person that I spoke to in the beginning over the phone did call me back and gave me the authorization to use an outside vendor.
Everything is working properly since the contractor did the service. The only thing is I haven’t gotten reimbursed. I had to pay out my pocket by me choosing an individual contractor. Someone was supposed to call me back on Friday, but he never called. I had to spend $700, and AHS told me I would get reimbursed within 14 to 21 days, and it’s been well over that. The information was faxed over on the 1st of October. But now, it’s the 29th. I don’t think that’s fair to me.
When I called them, they told me that they were still working on the date of September 9th. I called back 13 days after October 1st, and the representative was telling me that they were still working on the September 9th. It seems like it’s gonna be three months before I get my money back. Roger called me back once, and then I talked to another girl. I kept asking for a supervisor because once they told me they were still on September 9th, I was a little discouraged. I told her that I needed to speak to somebody who could tell me what’s going on. But she told me to rescind it. Why would I rescind it? I got a confirmation on my phone that they received it. That means I’m stuck waiting another 14 to 21 days, and with a duplicate claim.
I had another claim and a plumber come out and replace my hot water tank in January. I would have to run my water and run my water until it got hot. It only got hot in one bathroom when you turn it on. When the plumber came to look at my sump pump, I told him what was going on with the hot water tank and asked him if he could look at it. He looked right up, and he said that the company left our circulation valve turned off. All he did was turn it back on for me, and it was working right away in every faucet in my house. I told the company about it when I spoke to them the last time, and there was nothing they could do about it.
I’ve been with American Home Shield almost 20 years for several different properties, and I’m just about to find a new service company because I’m very disappointed. I’ve never had these problems with them in the past. I’ve chosen outside vendors, I faxed it to them, and within 10 days or 12 days, I have my refund back.

I recommend AHS. Sometime before, I called AHS and then called them back because I didn't need service. They didn't give me any problems and canceled the service call. I wasn't charged for it and that experience went great. More recently, there was water in my utility room. I called the maintenance people for the condo and the tech who came told me that my issue was my hot water tank that was rusting out and leaking. He told me that I was probably gonna have to replace it.
I then filed a claim to American Home Shield and they sent D & P Plumbing. The plumber checked the hot water tank and said there was nothing wrong with it and that it was working perfectly. He found the clog down in the drain that’s in the utility room and cleaned all of that out. I was perfectly satisfied with him. He was very professional and had a uniform on. He also had shoe covers that techs put on when they walk in people's houses. He explained to me what he was doing and my problem was taken care of.

In the past, submitting my claim online didn't work very well. But this time when one of our master bedroom bathroom was leaking, I called American Home Shield and they responded very well. Everything went very well. I’m very satisfied with them. The plumber was an awesome guy. He was very professional, very knowledgeable, and very tactful. I was also nice to him because he had a young boy with him. He was training him. He was so nice doing the job and with the way he was teaching the young man. He did a lot of things. Several times, he went to his car and came back. But I didn't doubt him. I just had faith in him. But since the repair, the toilet is making some kind of noise, and when we sit on it, it's not stable. So if the noise continues, I’m gonna call them back.

There were leaks in the toilet and in the sink. When I submitted the claim online, AHS was incredibly supportive and responsive. They told me immediately the contractor that was gonna be contacting me to schedule the visit and they gave me a phone number, so that if they didn’t contact me in 24 hours, I could contact them. They also sent me an email about that so I have both an email and I have a text message as soon as I file the thing online. And then the guy contacted me and we worked out how to do that. I have my payment information already on the website and it immediately pays the $75 so that I can leave the door unlocked, and let the guy go in. I don’t have to be there. They contact me if they have questions. The process is painless.
We’ve been an AHS home warranty customer since 2002. Every house we’ve ever had since that time had AHS, and it’s been tremendous. We’re very, very satisfied customers. We bought a house in Arkansas that we recently sold last month, and transferred the warranty from us to them. The monthly price went up, and it was legit because we had been in the house so long that every kitchen appliance cratered and needed to be replaced. And we had them replace it. We replaced the refrigerator and the range top and the double oven and the dishwasher. I was a little disappointed that the icemaker wasn’t covered, but that’s because icemakers are terrible and it’s a ** ton of money if they did that, so I get it. But they replaced everything. Over the course of two years, we replaced a furnace, two air conditioners, and all of our appliances. So, after that, the price went up from $81 to $108. But I’m good with that. It’s been marvelous.

Our heater system went out before and we had to pay out of pocket for that, which could’ve been avoided had we had a home warranty. So, I've been with American Home Shield for six years now. Usually, the AHS contractor looks at the problem and tells you what's wrong with it. Sometimes they go back to the truck to get a part and when they're done, they show you that it’s working. So when the tech from All City Appliance Repair came out, he looked at my stove and asked what was wrong. I left them alone to do what it was that they needed to do. And when he finished, he showed me what was wrong and that the unit was working. When my dryer went out, we got it working but the washing machine went out too. So, when we had one fixing, we should’ve had the contractor take a look at both so that they'd know what happened.
When submitting a claim, I like talking to a person. And every time I call, the AHS reps have been very pleasant. They’d say somebody will give me a call within 24 hours, and if I didn’t hear back, I'd let them know. One time, I gave them my number and they said that my number has changed and the rep gave me the new number. So far, the experience has been good.

World Class AC came out recently to work on my air conditioner, which was constantly running but wasn't cooling. I did the claim online and the website was easy to navigate. I asked for them to contact me via text, so they texted me at 8:14 AM the next morning. It was Tuesday morning and they couldn’t get somebody out until Thursday. So, it was almost three days before they got out and I had to go almost three days without air in Florida. It seemed like it was an excessive timeframe for somebody to come out because of the hot weather. But the contractors were fabulous. They came out, they were very clean and they didn’t wanna trek through the house. I live in attached housing units in my community, and they were great about walking around to the back to get to the units. They were also prompt in fixing the AC and getting it to work properly.
It's been a little bit hotter than normal and I've only been living in Florida a little over a year, so I've been asking my neighbors if it's normal for the unit to be kicking on this much. Jim from World Class said there's 60 days on this claim to call to get them to come back so I don’t have to repay my deductible, so he told me to watch the AC. It seems to be working fine. Everything has been fabulous overall. I've had to put a couple of minor claims with American Home Shield and everything has been really good.

I've only been with American Home Shield for three days. On our first night in the house, the air conditioner was out. I called it in to AHS. At the beginning, the service wasn’t that good because they weren’t gonna service it. They said I had 48 hours for them to respond and up to 48 hours for them to schedule service. The girl from the call center was from Iowa and she went and looked at the temperature up on the internet and said it wasn’t gonna be that hot this weekend, even though we’re just moving in and trying to get everything settled. We have doors open and people in and out of the house.
She was gonna wait ’til the following Monday, which would’ve been yesterday, to get us air conditioning. I told her it was not acceptable. We’re in Florida and it’s humid down here. So after a call or two, they expedited it. And then the girl, Tanya, called us back and she started out a little argumentative about it and was saying that we really didn’t need it. Since we were never given a contract by AHS, I had to go on the internet and find the number to call.
So, all of that said, I pleaded with her and said, “It’s our second night in the house, we have this contract. If this is the service we’re gonna get out of it, I’m gonna call the Realtor and get our $500 back from the seller.” She gave us two numbers but she didn’t have any promises. The guy that went out just took the order out the goodness of his heart. He came over and fixed the AC, which took him about three minutes. I knew what the issue was, but I didn’t know how to fix. If I fixed it, I didn’t know if that would void anything with warranty. Obviously, not, because they didn’t inspect anything before they took on the policy. And while you’re sticking your screw driver in a car that’s under warranty, you don’t wanna void the warranty up. So, if I would let the cards fall how they were looking that they were gonna fall, it would’ve been a bad experience. But my persistence made it a better experience.
The fact that somebody was looking it up on the internet, see what the temperature is gonna be, to see if it was okay for us to live in Florida without air conditioning for a couple days, that was insulting. As a matter of fact, I invited the girl and said, “I don’t know where you live.” And she said, “We’re in Iowa.” I said, “I invite you to come down to Florida and go a couple of days without air conditioning, even though it is November down here.” AHS should improve on their response time.

Recently, we filed a claim for our air conditioning with American Home Shield on a Friday and All Star Conditioning, the contractors, came out until the next Monday afternoon. AHS' reps were a little hard to understand what the process was. But once I got them started, they seemed to do okay with one exception. They need better communication. They didn't get the problem resolved and had to order a part. We waited almost three weeks before we got the part in, then got it replaced. The AC still had some more issues because everything wasn’t done properly. Brought another technician out. He recharged the air conditioning, but that still didn’t do it, and had to bring him out a third time. After three and a half weeks, it was finally resolved and is 98 degrees better. And right now, it's doing okay because the unit's cooled off.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. I will follow up with you as soon as possible in an effort to assist with unresolved issues. I just sent you an email. Thanks for your patience.

We were having issues with our garbage disposal. I submitted a claim online to AHS for it and I found their website very easy to use. I also like the website a lot. They were also pretty good about communicating. They sent an email, and then I got a follow-up text too. It was a great experience with the contractor as well. The person who came to the house was very knowledgeable. He was able to resolve the issue very quickly. I had another question about another appliance in my house and he provided me some information on that as well. I haven't had any issues since then.

Recently, I have an icemaker that’s broken and American Home Shield has given me the choice of replacement which won't match or a cash-in-lieu which doesn’t cover my appliance. So, I'm trying to figure out what to do. I haven’t used American Home Shield in probably 15 years, so I gave them another try because I was switching over from First American when my service contract is up on November 2nd. This refrigerator thing was kind of determining if I was gonna re-up or just go with another company because I feel like I'm gonna be forced to go buy a refrigerator for 13 something, which isn’t gonna be matching my appliances. It's like a bad option. I'm gonna have to go spend more money to get what I should just have replaced.
I have been on the phone for hours with them, and the people in the Philippines are horrific. I don’t even waste their time with the hours I have spent on the phone with them. I finally figured out a workaround, which is when I call, I just say sales department about 15,000 times until they send me to somebody in America. And then, I explain to them how I know I'm rerouting myself to sales. Sometimes they're mad because I've done it, and sometimes they're helpful. And that’s the only reason I even have an option right now for a replacement or a cash-in-lieu because I went through sales in America.
I had a claim before and one of the guys that American Home Shield sent out here was so creepy that I insisted they never send him back, and then they refused to send anybody else. I live by myself in the country, and the guy was just a total creep, and I was freaked out. Some people are helpful, but overall, it's not been good.

The website of American Home Shield was easy to use when I put a claim in regarding my furnace that didn't heat. The contractor went to our home. The furnace looked like it worked but after about a week, it had a problem again. The contractor took about a half an hour to fix it. The furnace is doing great now.

I had a claim regarding my PSC. I filed it to AHS online and the process was good and easy. Air Majesty came out to check on the heating system to make sure it was working for the winter. I had a few issues, but nothing that would keep it from functioning, and I live in an area that doesn’t get very cold usually so I’m gonna let it go for a while.

I’m very dissatisfied with American Home Shield. I was considering renewing, and I talked to an individual and we came up with a solution that fit my budget. I have toddlers, so I walked away for a second and came back to my phone. I got someone else and they said that it was a typo, that there was no way they would honor that price. He was very adamant that nobody was going to help me. It really irritated me ‘cause I had been talking on the phone on and off for several hours and then was told that it was a typo. I understand typos, but you can’t make a typo when you’re talking about money.
My last claim with ARO Appliance is still going. They had to come back out ‘cause they didn’t solve the problem, and now I’m waiting on a part. They came out for the initial evaluation on the 30th, the day before my warranty expired. I put the claim in on Saturday and they came out on Wednesday. I'm very happy with their communication and professionalism, but my husband is very unsatisfied with their ability to solve the problem. We also had a problem with our dishwasher at the beginning of the year, and it took them three times coming out to actually fix the dishwasher.

My refrigerator is going to be the death of me. We’ve had three different companies come out and look at it. With the first company, Premier Appliances, the guy who came out did not speak English. Because he was too short, he stepped on my bottom drawer to look into the top of the refrigerator and it busted the bottom drawer. He said he was gonna order a part then he would come back. And he did. They sent another person out to look at the icemaker, and he said he fixed it. It only worked for about a month.
About a month later, the indoor water dispenser started to leak from the bottom of the refrigerator. We had a huge puddle coming out of the bottom of the refrigerator. I called American Home Shield again. I told them I do not want Premier Appliances coming out and I didn’t wanna work with them anymore. They were just very rude and it was not good. This next one, AG Appliances, came out. The guy came, looked at it, and said that he didn’t need a part. It was just the hose in the back that came undone. He said he fixed it and left.
It was only a couple weeks ago. Now, it’s doing the exact same thing. The water dispenser is not working, and it’s leaking out the bottom again. When AG called me and asked me if they could come out, the rep said she would talk to them and see if the tech had to order a part. And that’s where I’m at. They’re supposed to come out tomorrow again. They have been doing a band aid fix. They fix it for half a second and it works, and then it does the same thing over and over again. With American Home Shield directly, it’s been perfect. It’s just we keep having different people come out to look at our appliances.

I've been with American Home Shield for 30 years or so and they have been on the ball about getting somebody out here to take care of things. I submit claims on the phone but it has gotten a little harder than it was in the past. Now, there is more questionnaire stuff than talking to a human. But the people we've had have been pretty good about appointments and doing the job when they're here. One contractor called the next day and set up an appointment for 4 o'clock. He called at about 1 o'clock and said he was running early and he wanted to know if he could get in. He showed up and was really professional. The issue was a diaphragm. I knew a little bit about that stuff and was talking to him about it. He explained it and it was to my satisfaction.

There were some leaking pipes in the basement. AJ Plumbing Services came out and took care of that. I had an issue with the water heater, too. I don’t know if they fixed it or not but I was happy with everything that they did do. They did an awesome job. They were great. I did the claim online with American Home Shield, and everything was fine. I'm pretty happy with AHS, so far.

The claim for my spa was a little complicated and I didn't know if they were gonna cover it, which was why I called it in. But most of the time, I submit claims online. I'm very happy with the contractor American Home Shield sent. The first time the tech came, there was a lot of work that he had to do. Part of the glue may not have sealed good enough and the spa was leaking. He couldn't test it at that time because the glue on the sections had to harden. He said not to turn it on for about three hours. When he came back, he said that it was part of the housing that was bad. He thought the glue in the new seal was gonna seal it but it didn't work that way. Overall, everything was good.

When the AC stopped working, I tried to submit the claim online like I did for another claim. But doing it online wasn't working so I ended up calling. A contractor was sent out to assess the problem and they fixed it, and it was all good. Now, the AC has been working great and the day-to-day operations in my home are running smoothly. My dishwasher had been leaking and flooding. The contractors had it fixed. Then, I had to call them again ‘cause the dishes weren’t getting clean. They replaced the brim and now, it’s working just fine. Originally, I called in for the claim for my dishwasher and the contractor got here fairly quickly. The second time, I did it online and got something like somebody would be contacting me but I got nothing. When I called, they said there was no claim in the system, so that didn’t work. So I stopped trying to do the claim online ‘cause that didn’t work for me. The phone call seemed to be a little bit better.
It took five times for the contractors to come out to get the dishwasher completely fixed. We went from one provider to another and had to go to the actual rep to finally get a new person out to get it fixed. Nevertheless, the contractors from Appliance Wizards were great. They have great response time and took their time to listen. The people answering their phone were great on scheduling as well. I like them all there.
It cost me $75 and three months to get my dishwasher fixed. It can be a little time consuming not knowing who you’re dealing with and their credentials ‘cause AHS picks the provider for you. I only got to know just before they came to my home. But having American Home Shield's useful and overall, I'm satisfied with them.

The refrigerator was making a loud, lawnmower-like sound so we had to turn it off. We put a claim in with American Home Shield on a weekend, and the contractor came out in a day. The tech was just a young kid but he was really good. He took it apart and it was leaking water. It was freezing and the fan was hitting the ice at the back of the refrigerator. He fixed it and everything is looking fine.

My washing machine was leaking, for which American Home Shield sent out a great company. The tech was really courteous and professional. They got the problem resolved quickly after they got the parts. Everything has been excellent since, and I could sleep with my washing machine running now.

There were things in our plumbing that weren't working and after we put in a request, the contractor reached out to us the next day. The technicians had to order a new faucet and had to come back after a week. But they got everything fixed and everything had been good since. We also had a claim for some appliance issues and it was excellent.

For my most recent claim, the first business American Home Shield called to come out to us couldn’t make it in the time frame we wanted. AHS set up somebody else to come out. And it was really quick, easy, and not painful at all. The new contractor came out in about six hours. He was very informative and explained things to me. I don’t know anything about home maintenance and I understood what happened completely. He was also very quick and efficient.

I called up the AHS number for a service request and talked to somebody, and they said that somebody would get back to me within 24 hours. Within about five hours, the latest company got back to me and made arrangements to come out in the next few days, and they did so. They came out and identified the problem, said they would be out in a few days once the parts came in. The guy ordered the parts right then and there, so that sped up operations. Then I got a call that the parts were in, and let me know when the company could come, and so we took care of that. They fixed the appliance and we're back to normal. It's better than before and less noisy.
It's what we should expect to have a great service, but we don't always get nowadays. I've had some people come out for different things, and at one time, things were worse than before. So, I'm very happy with the people and the process. I like the idea that these guys have been vetted by the AHS. They came out and took care of business.

The ice maker stopped working and I submitted a claim online with Home Shield. The tech took a look at it and said it needed to be replaced. So he went and replaced it, and still didn't work. So he came back and said, that it was not level, therefore, it was not gonna do what it was supposed to do. So he leveled it and that made matters worse. And then he said that they need to order two valves and replace the valves. So they're coming out again on Friday to continue to fix the problem. It's a little bit of a hassle, but it'll get fixed.

I'm very satisfied with American Home Shield. There was water filling up the AC's drip pan. The drainage was clogged and because the system is in my attic, I didn't wanna mess with it and I gave the professionals a call. The technician who came was professional and did a great job. Also, I noticed the outside unit starting to ice up a little bit last winter, but I was told that the temperature outside was too high. The average temperature during the day should be around 50 degrees before it could be checked. Other than that, the immediate issue at the time was resolved.

I've had American Home Shield in Florida for 18 years and I was very pleased with them, and when I bought the cabin in North Carolina, it came with AHS. There was a leak in the washing machine, and the contractor came and fixed that. He had to search for it because it was hard to find but he did a good job. He cleaned up after himself and he was very nice and professional. Everything was good.

I called AHS when my AC was blowing hot air. Their representative was good. After two days, the contractor came and replaced some wires to the compressor. It took him an hour to repair.

It was super easy navigating through American Home Shield's website. I submitted a claim through it, and the contractor told me a tech could come later that night, but I didn’t want anybody to come until the following Monday. A tech from Pop-A-Lock then came out and replaced all of the locks on my house. She seemed really nice, professional and friendly, and she got the job done quickly. Overall, I'm happy with AHS. It does seem like with any warranty company -- it's not a replacement company. So they're gonna try to do the least possible when they can. They just want to fix what's broken, if it's possible. They’ll have to stay in business. I understand that. But I wish that they were a little bit more upfront on pricing because I think that’s better for the consumer. They should have everything laid out in bullet statements like what if our air conditioner breaks down and they have to replace this and this.. Because there are hidden fees. And when the switch motor was broken and intermittent they were gonna wait this third time to actually replace it. I’m sure if it would break within the 60-day period for the recall they would replace it.
But for this particular situation when they redid a door and the switch came back on, they did great. They actually came back out even though I hadn’t done the recall. I switched from American Home Shield before because that other company sold me on their pricing which was a little less, but that company did some lying to me, like, “Oh, you can do multiple fixes with one fee. If you have two or three things broke, you can just pay the one $50, and we're gonna let you fix.” I was with that other company way too long. I should have seen the writing on the wall, but I guess I didn’t wanna think about it. But now that I'm back with American Home Shield I see that they aren’t really comparable.

Since January, American Home Shield has been sending and re-sending folks to fix our leak, but they could never pinpoint the problem. But they'd do a few things, which would help for a few days. Finally, a company that was able to find the problem came and they were able to fix it. You could see that they had a lot of plumbing experience. Some of the technicians AHS sent were not that great. Although their behavior was good, they were not experienced and knowledgeable. It would be nice if AHS had contractors who are more experienced.

Blue Collar Plumbing, the provider AHS sent for my hot water heater, was excellent. They were calling me before I finished with the automatic voice system to put in the claim. The techs got out right away and put in a new fitting. The place where the hose goes in at the top of the hot water heater on the hot water side had eroded over time. He explained that to me and swapped the fitting out. Blue Collar's techs were wonderful. Thus far, I've had two claims through AHS and both have gone really well. I'd recommend this company.

Chesapeake Appliance, AHS' contractor has been out to my place a couple of times already. The last time they came, the tech said everything was fixed. He showed me the parts he took out and said that I may still get the error code on my washing machine I used to get initially but that was because the computer is trying to reset. He asked me to give him a 5-star rating. Since he was a nice guy, I gave him one. However, when I went to use the washing machine the next day, it had the same problems that it had before he came out. I kept calling and trying to get him to come back. Chesapeake Appliance is supposed to come back again tomorrow.
The claim for my furnace is another story. It hasn't been dealt with yet. The computer board of my Carrier furnace had some glitch and AHS had to order another part. I made the request on the 17th of October and to this day, I haven't gotten any word on where the order stands. First, I was told that the part was being ordered the next day.
But the other day, after calling like the fourth or fifth time, I was told one time that the part was in, and I should be getting a call. When I called another time, I’m told the part isn’t in yet. I have no heat in my house and it’s cold. The tech, Roland, old me on Sunday he would call me back on Monday, but I haven’t heard from him. Meanwhile, I’m really ticked off because I was with Sears before and with them, I pay the $100 copay when the technician comes to my house. With American Home Shield, as soon as I make a service call, I have to pay $100. So, they have me for $200 now and I haven't gotten either of my requests completed.

American Home Shield outsourcing customer service to Philippines, no one knows what they are doing. It's been 4weeks contractor came and check on the furnace. Have-not heard from the DMC DI DOLCE MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS or AHS. Spoke to at least 7 diffrent customer service representatives at AHS. Whenever call their answer is, "We will get back to you in 24 to 48 hours." Haven't heard from them yet. Very unprofessional service.

It's been a bit over 3 weeks now and we finally will have a resolution. During that time, I had to continue calling for updates and I was told 2 different stories about what is going on by customer service. I was told they were waiting for report to replace the whole system and also told that they ordered the part to fix the furnace. The repair company came out twice for measurement. There was another incident where I called customer service and was told that my claim was denied and they did not provide any details about why and I waited a while to talk to someone else and eventually the call disconnected. The repair company that came out then explained that part of the claim was denied and part was covered. Eventually they did cover some of the costs. There are lots of fine print in the policies so it is very likely many things are not covered. The process of getting things repaired takes a long time. The process is not very transparent either.

Our furnace has stopped working and we called american home shield. It's been 2 weeks and it still has not been fixed and it is getting cold. After the service visit, it took the company 4 business days to write up a report. I called American Home Shield everyday only to be told to call back the next day for updates. Finally after 4 business days the report was complete, but I was only notified because I had been calling them every day. During one of these calls, I was told once the report was submitted it would take 2-3 days before they can come to fix the furnace, but that was not the case. I was told they got the report but they needed to research if they can order the part which would take 48 hrs.
48 hours later, I haven't heard anything so I called back and was told they ordered the part. When I asked them how long it would take, they told me they didn't know. Each time I called, they asked me for the whole story again. They have an online portal but it doesn't show any details of the progress. The process is so long and not very transparent.

Purchased this warranty when I bought my new home. Our ac has quit working because it is blowing the fuse inside the furnace. Set up a service online and took 5 days to get a date scheduled. Then another 2 for the tech to arrive. The tech was at my home for about 15 minutes. Said I had a short in the wire going from the furnace to the ac condenser. He said he didn't think this wire was covered under the warranty and left a quote of 500.00 to do the repair. I contacted AHS and asked about this coverage. They said they had to wait for the paperwork from the tech. 3 days later they contact me to say that because it is inside the wall they don't cover gaining access to the wire to see if it would be covered under the warranty. If I would be willing to remove part of the wall so they could see the wire to determine if it would be covered then they would come back out. So I wonder what is covered under this warranty since it says electrical is covered.
I forgot to mention that before the tech left my home he left he removed all the padding around the wires on the outside of my home so now I have exposed hanging wires that they don't want to warranty. I will not recommend this warranty to anybody as it seems they have to many loop holes to get out of covering items. Very upset and disappointed with this as I live in Arizona and you need AC. Thank goodness it's late in the year and the temp isn't 115 outside. Thanks for taking my $75.00 for a service call and fixing nothing but leaving it worst than before you arrived.

American Home Shield is great. When I submitted the claim for the garbage disposal that burned, someone called me. I submitted the claim at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and the technician came out at 10 o'clock the next morning. He was fabulous and knew what he was doing. He got the job done.

I've been going back and forth with American Home Shield for my AC. The central air went out and the tech that came out didn't seem enthusiastic. I know him from before and he was great two years ago. But recently, he was in a hurry. He did what he did at my house, and he said he gotta go and see what happens for a couple of days. And we’ve been going at it like this for over a month.
American Home Shield was good in the beginning. Now, they’re all giving me the runaround. I told them to send me somebody else, and they said that I asked for him so I'm stuck with him and to give him a few more days. So I gave him a couple of days, and he called and said give him a week. It’s been about three days now, so I gotta give him four more days. I don’t know why American Home Shield won’t send somebody else. They’ve been awesome in the past three years. But this time, they dropped the ball. So right now, I would not recommend them.

The refrigerator was freezing in the middle part, and the ice maker was bad. I made the payment online, and then the contractor called me right away and made appointment and asked me what was wrong. They ordered the parts and they came back. They fixed all the issues on the day that they came by for the appointment. It was really good. American Home Shield impressed me. I’ve been a Home Shield customer for 35 years. I used to be Realtor so I always recommended American Home Shield to my customers who bought it. When we had a claim with our air conditioner, the company that was sent fixed the problem but didn’t do a very thorough job. And then we had another problem with our air conditioner but nothing could be done with that because the air conditioner had mold. I’m about ready to have Home Shield fix my oven so we’ll see how that goes. Previously, our toilet went crazy and was overflowing under the floor really fast. All Points Plumbing was sent and they were great. They were good communicators. They ran a bit late because we’re living at the outskirts of town, but they were nice and they fixed the problem. They didn’t have to replace any parts. They just knew toilets well enough to figure it out. They made some adjustments and did something with one pipe.

I chose American Home Shield because of reviews and from my experience with them, they were actually pretty good. I initially filed a claim online and I guess when I did that, American Home Shield assigned me a contractor. But when I read the reviews, I wasn’t really sure about it because he had a lot of negative reviews. I requested to have that changed so I had to call the operator and she was actually very helpful. She made all the changes and advised me to do this and that. American Home Shield sent Jaeger Electric and the technician was excellent. He kept us informed about everything. He called and let us know when he was in town and how much time he had left before he came in. Then he caught everything that was wrong and fixed it.

My dryer wasn’t spinning or heating and the contractor that AHS sent out was nice. I was surprised. It took a couple of days before he could come out, which should be expected, but once he came out, he was able to easily identify what the issue was and resolved it right away. He had to clean out all that dirty lint from inside the machine. It was a great experience.

The blower motor of the AC stopped working upstairs so I submitted a claim to AHS. It was an easy process and it didn't take very long to get a contractor out. The contractors were also able to fix the issue immediately. I’m pretty happy with AHS. The contractors they have are very good and actually much better than I expect. I did a little research on the internet and they seemed to have the best value and the best remarks and feedback. I got their warranty and I saw an email about the rekeying service. Before I could set it up online, I was contacted to go over my plan and to see if I wanted to make any adjustments, which I did. And then at that time, I went in and scheduled the rekey. The service from the representative was all very professional and courteous. The call was very beneficial also because I clarified some of the unique items in my home and chose to cover at least one of them. Other than the amount of email or the contact I'm getting is a bit excessive, having the warranty is a good value. We were thinking about doing a second year, and so we did that.

When I came back from holiday, one of my ACs was out and I had some interesting discussions with the contractors who came out about what they did provide. They are all good communicators and have good English. One guy, in particular, was very helpful in terms of explaining the process. I've got three AC units and asked if they could check all of it while they were here. He said that they could do it, but I can't warranty because they came out for one.
I get online to submit claims and once you log in, the AHS website is fairly straightforward. It asks you what service you want and then away you go. Typically, they'll get back to you within a 24 to 48-hour timeframe. They're good about signing that stuff out and getting people. A good feature to put online would be being able to specify that I wanted a provider again. All in all, AHS has been okay.

We had two issues for which my husband went online and submitted claims to American Home Shield. We had an issue with our dryer as the latch wouldn't recognize the door being closed. The other issue was with our AC that was running rough. AHS scheduled a contractor for my dryer to come out the morning after my husband submitted the claim. The contractor who came was friendly and he did his job quickly. He kept to himself but that was okay as it didn't bother me any. When he spoke to me, he was kind and polite. He managed to fix the problem that same day he came.
The contractor for the AC called me the morning after the claim was submitted and came quickly within a day or two of the call and they are doing their job now. The guy who came to fix the AC said it would be a matter of time before it crashes out on us because of the age of the unit. We've enjoyed our experience so far with AHS. We’ve had to make a few claims and each time we’ve been satisfied with how quickly the response was, and how quickly things were resolved.

Home Shield is the best company I ever dealt with. I have them for 22 years. I have peace of mind on it. Every time they come and I call them, they fix my problems. Once in a while, I found one of those service people that are not so helpful, but overall, 99% were great. Sometimes when the homes are kinda a little old, the service people come and charge you for extra things just to put it up to code. But people should understand that you cannot put a new unit in an old unit. You have to pay something extra.
Recently, I have a new air conditioning placed, a new pool pump, and a new filter pump. The garage door opener broke this year. My washing machine broke, too. I pay a little bit, but I sleep well. And when people come to fix your things at the house, they fix what you need to be fixed, and they don’t tell you they need this and that. I trust them, and I always have very good people. And I would recommend it to friends. Home Shield should keep up the good work. I would like to continue to renew my membership.

The reps are always really nice whenever I call. There was a recall on my ice makers and Richard, the tech who came out within a couple of days, was always super nice too. He had to order the computer part that had to be replaced this time. That took maybe a week, but he did not take very long at all when he did the repair. I was surprised and the ice makers are awesome now. American Home Shield has done what they're supposed to.

AHS have sent out Service Specialty for the stove. The tech was excellent. He’s very knowledgeable and professional, and he explained everything in detail. Days later, he even texted a couple of times to check and make sure everything is working, or if I had any more questions. However, the claim I just did was a bit of a process. The heater broke on the weekend and AHS authorized us to use somebody. I found one and only after the repair did they tell me that they don't use American Home Shield. I'm a bit frustrated because I'm the customer and I'm mediating between two companies and I don’t think that’s really my place. But it wasn’t American Home Shield’s problem, it was the repair person. Everyone has been really nice but AHS could improve on their cost. I have to pay them and pay another $75 for the service call before they send anybody.

The garbage disposal wouldn't make any sound at all. It wouldn't come on or do anything. I called AHS and they said they'll dispatch a contractor out in a day or so, which was quick. JET Plumbing came out did a good job. They were professional, courteous and they seemed to know what they were doing. I would recommend AHS. They are good.

American Home Shield has been very good to me. They’ve always sent good people out here. I had friends that say American Home Shield is the worst thing, but I've been very happy with it. If you live in the middle of Egypt, it might be a little hard to get a good service person. But if you live in Dallas County, there's plenty of good service people in the area. I just wish American Home Shield would take a little senior citizen discount out of me. I'm 68 years old and they keep going up. Amazon is starting to put out a pretty good deal and it makes me wanna change because I live on Social Security.
I took out the American Home Shield warranty in 2013 and all these years, I had my washer all redone, my dryer worked on once, my air condition once, and then the heater a couple of times. So, it has been wonderful. The most recent one was for my air conditioning unit and I love the technician that they sent out. Alvin is very kind, professional yet a friendly man, and made me feel very comfortable to have him in my home, in and out. I like Gen. Air. In fact, I put in a second thing and they were gonna send someone else, but I called Gen. Air to ask if they do it, and they do, and so I asked for Alvin.

The hot water heater was leaking under the pressure relief valve for a week. I wanted to see if it would fix, and then it just kept leaking so I filed a claim online and waited for a day. And then I called and everything got scheduled and a guy came out. The reps I spoke with were fine. The contractor that came out was very helpful and very fast. He had a lot of knowledge and gave me some tips to avoid in the future. Since the repair, everything has been working fine. I had to install an expansion tank and the contractor walked me through the process and guided me on what tools to buy. I was able to do that myself , and ever since I added an expansion tank, I've had no issues since.

The heating coil at the bottom of the oven was split in half. The AHS representative I spoke to was honest and he said he didn’t know if the warranty covered it. I told him that I had read the book and it was covered, but for him to go ahead and double-check. But he put my call in any way. It took a couple of days for the contractors to come out. These guys had come through before on another claim that I had done, so I knew who they were. It was awesome. It took them 10 minutes to get the oven running. And the oven has been outstanding and my wife's happy, so I'm good. We've had American Home Shield for only about five months.

I filed an online claim to American Home Shield for some leakage in pipes. I put it in on Thursday and the contractor came in on Monday. I had a very good interaction with him. He looked very experienced. He immediately identified the problem and he fixed it in 30 minutes. He was the best. I’m happy that he got assigned to me and everything is perfect now.

The gentleman from Plumbers, Inc. came out because our front bathroom shower was still dripping. This was the third time they came out. He said that if it continued to drip, we push the little button down and that should release all the water in the pipe. I told my mom that and my mom pushed it down. The other day when I was sitting there going to the bathroom, I noticed that it was pushed, but water was still dripping out. So then, we called them up and told them it was still having that problem ‘cause the guy said to call them back if we still have the problem and they would come out and change something.
He did change it out and that got fixed. When they originally came out, we could not use the master bathroom shower. We thought it was a turn knob and it wasn’t. It was the pull-out for the water to come out. The technician showed us that it works but you just have to stand in front of it and pull it out. My parents are elderly, so they tried it for one night and it was difficult for them to pull it up. They don’t have the strength to do it. So, yesterday, when the technician was there fixing the front bathroom shower, my mom told him that it was hard to pull it out and if he could fix it. For some reason or another, they said that no water comes out from the master bathroom shower. My father is handicapped and he cannot get into the bathtub, which is the other shower in the front restroom.
I called yesterday and they made it sound like they’d be dispatched today, and then when I called them today and I told them that my dad was handicapped and what had happened, they said that no schedule was made. I'm pretty upset and I had to call their office back and the girl told me that the soonest would be tomorrow, and I said my parents would have to go without a shower for two days now. I said I wanna talk to a manager but I'm waiting for the manager to call me back. I don’t understand why we should be penalized for something that the technician either turned off or there's something to it, to wait another day. But the contractor was very efficient and professional. And AHS has been fine.

For my most recent claim, the plumber found a penny that was caught into the garbage disposal and couldn't get out, and he fixed it. Everything was great. But when I call up AHS and have something that needs to done, I still have to pay a $75 house service fee. If you have a home warranty and you're paying x amount of money a month, why do you have to pay a service fee? I've had four or five claims this year and I've paid $75 four or five times, so I'm reluctant to renew next year.

Our AC was intermittently tripping a circuit and that would shut off the entire air conditioning unit, so it would go on and off. My claim for it with American Home Shield was fantastic. The crew from Royal Flush AC and Heating they had to come out to work on it was fantastic. It was a little father and son duo. I liked it. American Home Shield has been great. The value per dollar is there. They did a fantastic job.

My hot water didn’t work in the kitchen and I didn’t know if it was something with the line, or if it was something with the faucet being plugged. It was also weird because I had hot water working everywhere else in the house, but just not in the kitchen. So, I called and made the claim, and Carl’s Plumbing Services came out. As the guy was discovering to find the problem, he was doing some shut-offs, and he was cranking on the pipe to take off the shut-off valve, ‘cause it was old and it needed to be replaced. Because if one shuts it off or turns it on, it would obviously leak. He tried to take it off and it wasn’t a screw-on in one. It was welded on. So when he was cranking on it, he must have busted it or whatnot, and made it leak.
Anyway, he ended up finding the problem and he fixed the hot water problem. Then he had to relieve some pressure in the basement, and I told him, “You know, I wouldn’t turn on any old stuff that I have down there, except for the shut-off by the hot water heater or the main shut-off, ‘cause I don’t know if it’ll leak or not.” But he went and turned on the laundry faucet sink to relieve the hot water, and then shut it off, and it wouldn’t shut off. So, it was leaking but then he put a cap on it and it stopped leaking.
After he fixed everything, he turned all the water on. But after he left, I noticed under the sink that it was dripping water from where he cranked on the shut-off valve. Then I went in the basement, and where he put the little cap to cover up the seal, it made it spray out of the actual handle and started leaking out of the handle from being plugged up on the other side. So, he probably made an honest mistake but still, he has to pay a little more attention to detail.
I called the plumber back and tried to call Carl’s back, but I couldn’t get a hold of them as it was past business hours. So I dealt back with Home Shield and they told me that they would be sending Carl's back out and they would contact me. Carl's did contact me, came back out, and fixed the issue. But a different plumber came out and he seemed more knowledgeable than the first guy. He fixed the leak under the sink and then he informed me that in order for him to replace the faucets out in the basement, he’d have to do some additional plumbing, and those weren’t covered through Home Shield. He said Home Shield doesn’t do the actual piping, so I’d have to pay him to do the piping for the basement. So far, I've had American Home Shield for about two months and this claim is my first. Everything that I’ve dealt with through them was excellent. I told them about my issues and they took care of everything very well.

I wasn't getting any heat out of the system. I called AHS and submitted my claim, and Clovis Heating & Cooling came out in a couple of days. Not only were they here on time, they were about 10 minutes early which is extremely rare for people. They were very courteous, timely and neat. Everything about them was great. It was an outstanding experience. I had an experience with Standlee from Visalia wherein they were not only six hours or eight hours late, they did not come at all and they did not even call to say they were not coming. AHS should never send a repair person from 60 miles away to do a repair because they have a great problem of getting here when they say they're gonna come.

The dryer's heating element stopped working, and then cold water was coming out of a refrigerator. I filed a claim with Home Shield on their website, which I liked. It's user-friendly. It lists who's gonna get the call, and that I would get a phone call in the next 48 hours. Advanced Appliance was great. The dryer is perfect, and having it fixed made our lives a whole lot easier. Home Shield is a good thing to have.

Perry Mechanical diagnosed what the problem was and submitted the report to American Home Shield. I’m doing a cashback type of deal right now so I can replace the whole system. AHS is reimbursing me for one the main component of the outside unit of the AC. It was a part that was gonna cost $450, but they were gonna have to take all the refrigerant out and put new refrigerant in, which was gonna cost me $800. So, I just cashed that part out and put it towards a new AC system. The techs had to come out here twice, but they were really good people.

A pulley was bad in my dryer. It sounded like a fan belt going screeching. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield, and within five hours, I had a contractor assigned. They called me within two days, and then they came out and fixed it. I'm totally satisfied. The tech was very courteous and timely. I’ve had numerous calls in the last few years and they pretty much used the same guy so he is familiar with my house. He knows me. He’s done my dishwasher, my washing machine and my dryer.
We've had American Home Shield for about eight years and the rate on the service call went up to $100. For the dryer, the part might've been $10 or $20 because it was just the pulley or a wheel that goes on to a shaft. So if I hadn't gone through American Home Shield, I would have to paid the guy less than $100 to come out and fix it. My wife told me to drop Home Shield and just put some money in savings every month so that covered emergency. But if the air conditioner goes out, a new compressor costs $3,000. So we're sticking with American Home Shield. It’s that peace of mind that if something goes wrong, I know it’s gonna be taken care of. I don’t have to worry about dipping into our savings.

We had a claim for the hot water tank and All American Plumbing & Rooter came out and took care of everything in about 30 minutes. There were 2 of them and they just had to replace the thermostat. They were very nice and professional as well. We've had our policy since August and the claim submission process has been fairly easy and I have gotten a quick response.

Recently our furnace wasn't working and I did the claim online as I prefer using the website. The contractor was very quick, professional and on time. The claim was on a Friday, and they came out Monday morning and they were able to get the part. Then he was able to come back out and put it on Wednesday. My water heater was leaking bad so we went online to file a clam, but I had some questions, so I called over the phone. I had to call to get an expectation as to when the contractors would be out, because I had a bad experience before with that expectation, and the AHS rep answered my questions. The contractor was nice and, since he was here, everything has been pretty decent. My pipes were rattling but I haven’t really heard them since. However, I wasn’t very happy that they didn't leave any paperwork. That’s very odd. I had to get an email, and the email was very generic. Also, I ended up paying a lot more than the warranty even covered. It obviously saved me some but I still paid a good chunk out of pocket. I don't find any value in the warranty and I’ve been considering canceling just because of the amount that I had to pay out of pocket.

I called American Home Shield when we needed a furnace repair and the representative that I talked to was very nice. The guy from Cozy came out and he was fantastic. He knew exactly what he was doing. He also knew exactly what our problem was. He fixed the problem. He was explaining it and how it went. And he cleaned the furnace out. He brushed it up and vacuumed it out. He was a great communicator. He was very happy and upbeat. You could tell he enjoyed what he did. He loved his job, and he was a very personable person.

The house had a number of electrical issues. My wife called AHS and the contractor called me within a couple of days. By that time, they already booked us the week before. So they came out on the 1st and it was the only day that would work for us reasonably. They worked around our schedule and it wasn’t an emergency. The electricians came out four days after the initial call to AHS and they took care of all the issues. They were very quick and at the time, I was in the process of putting my 18-months-old granddaughter down for a nap and they were exceptionally courteous to that respect. Everything has been working satisfactorily since the repair and we are glad that we got the policy when we bought the house.

We had a leak in the main shut off valve and the website made everything easy when I submitted a claim to American Home Shield. Appointments were always set up within 24 hours and the longest we had to wait was 48 hours for somebody to come out. We had a total of three claims and in this one, the experience was good but in another plumbing issue, the contractors weren’t professional and they didn’t have all the tools necessary and stuff to do the job. I ended up talking to somebody and letting them know about the situation so that, hopefully, it wouldn’t happen again to somebody else. Still, AHS is good about covering everything and getting everything set up.

But prior to this claim, I had several ones that were not good like when they sent somebody who was not qualified to fix and didn't really wanna fix something just to collect the $99 I pay them.

The furnace would start up and then stop quickly, or it wouldn’t kick on. This has happened before so we were kinda familiar with it and it had something to do with the sensor so, we called it in to American Home Shield. The technician came out the next day, showed me what was going on, remedied it and we got heat. Overall, the interactions with the contractors have been good. They usually come out quickly and I haven’t had an issue with the technicians.
I bought this house in ’98 and AHS was free to me for the first year. Since I'm single and I don’t have a man with a toolkit, it was important to maintain it thereafter. So, I kept the policy and ’99 would’ve been the year I started paying for it. It would be nice if there wasn’t a $75 deductible but it’s peace of mind for me. Some people would say that it’s probably a waste of money but it’s nice knowing that I just make one phone call and they send somebody out. I’ve used them for my furnace, central air, an electrical problem and a garbage disposal.

The contractor called the same day and was out the next day or two. He was very kind and friendly, and he got it all done. He did a good job. Overall, the process was really easy. When the cold weather came in last weekend, we turned the heater on and smelled gas. We called the gas company over and they told us that three burners were burning, but the other three weren't and were shooting the gas. Submitting the claim for it through American Home Shield's website was very easy. They reacted to our need speedily and didn't give us any trouble. They just got to the source. The contractor they sent was professional and did their job speedily. We haven't turned the heater back on because we hadn't needed it, but the tech said it was repaired. Having AHS is very valuable and I plan on continuing the warranty. I would highly recommend them.

We had water leaking out of the seams of our water heater so we had water damage. I called that claim in with American Home Shield. It was a weekend and it was a new house so I didn't have internet yet. AHS assigned my claim to Plumbing Pro Services. The assignment took place within a few minutes. Two or three hours later, the company then came out. It was a pretty quick turnaround. They put a plan in place and had the issue fixed. It was really nice because they took the stress of all of it from us. It was a great company to work with.
They more or less drained the water heater so we didn't have any more leaking. They took care of it because there was already water damage on the walls. They had to order a whole new water heater and we just had to kinda not use hot water while they got a new tank in. The next day, the tech had a new water heater ordered for us and he came back. Everything has been great. I was very impressed with how quick AHS was and they picked a company that was close to us. It was really nice and it was a good experience.

I was having issues with my freezer. I submitted a claim to AHS over the phone and the rep I spoke with was good. In three days, Magic Appliance came out. They were good. They cared. The garage door was not functioning. I think it had something to do with the electrical part of it. I called it in and the process was smooth. The window was 12:00 to 2:00, and KTM Door Control was literally right there at 12 o'clock. They fixed the door and handled what I needed done. Everything went well. The technician was very professional, quick and informative.

The icemaker was torn up and it had leaked, and I couldn't shut the refrigerator door unless I started chipping the ice away. I did the claim online on a weekend, so it took a while. It might have been that Monday before there was a response that somebody would be scheduled. The tech made two trips. The first trip, he came out and basically just figured out what was wrong. He got it diagnosed really quickly and cut the water off so it would stop leaking. He then told me that it might be a week or two before he gets back because he had to order the part and there was some manufacturing change with the replacement part. He communicated very well. It was almost two weeks that he came back and put in the new icemaker. And there was one other little part where the ice and the water came out that was warped that he also replaced that for me.

When we bought our house, the inspector said that the air vent, heat, and AC were running well. That was before the cold snap took hold. In the cold snap, we turned the heat on and it wouldn't fire up. The igniter would come on then it would go off. I called American Home Shield and the contractor's tech couldn't get out here until the next day or in two days. We understood that there was scheduling, but my wife said that we were gonna have to go through the day in the cold. We slept in the cold for one night. But the tech from Airmax was good and we had no problems.

I submitted a claim online with AHS and the process was fine. The contractor who came out was great as well. They were also very prompt and polite. All in all, everything had gone very smoothly

I've been with American Home Shield since 2008, and it's been convenient to keep around. I make claims primarily online as it's faster, easier and you get a response back quicker. And I'm more of a computer-savvy type person. With the exception of one experience, all the other contractors have been great. We had one that was kinda shady, but the very last one was good. The service fee creeps up once so often, but other than that, they seem pretty responsive and quick.

Extreme Heating & Air took care of my AC unit. The unit was low in Freon, so they added a couple of pounds. They also came early and were in and out. They took about 20 minutes and everything was fast. I've had my policy for a year and a half, and I probably would be renewing.
