I’ve been with American Home Shield for five years and I've been completely happy with their service. I usually do my claims online and depending on the time I submit it, I would usually hear from somebody the next day. We had an ice maker that just stopped working and the people who did it were great. When they had to get a new one, the guys who delivered it, hauled the old one and installed it were good. Plumbing companies have always been good and we've had pool repairs too. One time, there was an air conditioner repair that kinda went a little haywire but it was remedied and fixed.
Before I would set things up online, I would always call in because sometimes, I would have questions that I would want to talk to somebody about. Now, for the most part, I just set everything up online and there's never an issue that way but when you need to call to double-check on something, the wait times can be long and a bit ridiculous. At 9 o'clock in the evening, I've been on the phone waiting for at least an hour. Still, I've always been pleased. We haven't had anything that they said wasn't covered so far. Everything has always been handled and I've been happy.
Catherine,
Thanks for letting us know everything worked out great for you. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

My brother and sister-in-law recommended Home Shield, and I gave them a try so we've been with them for about 3 years now. We’ve only had to use them twice so far and in both times, we were very happy with the service. I submitted the first claim over the phone and then the last one was done online. Either way was okay, but it was easier for me to submit online because I was at work when I did it and I didn't have to wait or get put on hold. Miller's Repair was the contractor for the second claim and the guy who came was there when he said he was gonna be there. He inspected, did what he was gonna do, and answered all my questions. He was efficient too.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. We are happy to know that the online service has been beneficial to you Ruby. Have an amazing week.

I had American Home Shield many years ago with my first home. When I got a brochure in the mail, it got me to sign up with them again. So far, I've been with American Home Shield for just a few months. The latest technician that came out was outstanding. He was friendly, efficient and professional. He was a bit behind schedule, but he made sure to call me and let me know, and everything was great. AHS's quality of service was good. I would’ve liked the turnaround time to be a little sooner, like 24 hrs, but I was able to live with the problem that I had. It wasn’t a big deal.

495 Garage Door's service was wonderful. The technician came on time, he did the service, looked at the garage door opener, and looked at the garage door. He did a great job. He was outstanding, and the door is fixed. Initially, it wasn’t coming up, so I called American Home Shield and talked to a person. She was fine. Everything with my experience went great this time. I’ve had bad experiences before. The contractor that came to my door seemed drunk. So, I didn’t let him in my door. And I called back and I had cancelled it. When he called me the first time, he sounded okay, but when he called back to say he was on his way, something didn’t sound right. And then when he came to the door, I said, “You can’t come in.” I’m single. I’m only by myself. So, I can’t take a risk.
Hi Deirdre,
I am pleased to hear about your most recent experience to have the garage door repaired. I hope you continue to enjoy your AHS warranty!

Stay away from these horrible people. First time filing a claim and its an extremely excruciatingly painful experience. First of all, their customer service is in Philippines, and clearly the people they hire have not been trained on anything. It is transparent that they are reading a script and do not offer any help or thought into your issue.
I had a gas leak and the gas company shut off the gas. Gas company said call a professional and they will be able to determine where the leak is. I called AHS, and they send out a Plumbers Inc. The guy from Pumbers Inc. had no clue what he was doing. He wanted to upset me a valve and claimed that the valve was missing on my home. Mind you, I live in a new community and none of my neighbors or anyone in my community has the valve he's ref to. So obviously I said no. He said without that he couldn't test. When I told him I know he's lying because it makes no sense, he said "I can test but I don't want to make my life harder than it is". Clearly, that was the end of the conversation and I sent him away.
Then I called AHS back and asked if I could use my own Plumber. The rep said yes, as long as they are on their approved list. And that AHS will dispute the call with the previous Plumber, and if the second Plumber's diagnosis is different then I would not be charged twice. I then found a Plumbing company based on recommendations. I spoke to them, got a good feeling and when I called AHS, the rep was unbelievable incapable of understanding the situation. She said I would have to pay 2nd time as well regardless of the dispute. After I told her all of this in detail, she said "I've not scheduled a call with another one of of Plumbing companies."
She did not understand one bit of the situation and my request and made things even more difficult and muddier. I demanded to speak to her superior and she said "that is not possible because I cannot transfer a call, but you can call back and maybe you will get a supervisor".... WTH???? UNBELIEVABLE. How is this worth even having as a home warranty company? So PLEASE save your time and your sanity. Pay a bit more and go with a company that does business only in USA. I hope this review helps other homeowners and keeps them away from these horrible people / scammers.
Good afternoon Stephan,
Thank you for speaking with me today. I regret that a resolution could not be discussed. I do thank you for accepting my call. Have an awesome day!

Updated on 10/23/2019: I had written an earlier review on AHS mentioning my poor experience with them. I got a response on my review on this site, from AHS that they'll contact me back. Never happened, nobody called. And all I can do on this website is to send them a private message regarding that. The first time I called them, they told me that the indoor panel was not covered. The second time after the service technician came home and said it's not the indoor but the out panel which is at fault, they said although that's is covered but it's not. So I raised another request, another technician came home, who gave a totally different diagnosis that said basically all the panels are fine but the electrical wiring is at fault, then AHS said although pool electrical is covered but it is not. Totally frustrated and cancelling my coverage after suffering for several years.
Original Review: AHS is a waste of money. All the folks giving 5-stars are either exceptions or just fraudulent reviews.
- I had a water leak from a faucet. They said it's not covered because the faucet is working fine, its connection with counter top is at fault and thats not covered.
- My swimming pool equipment stopped working, because of a fault with the control panel. First AHS said the indoor control panel is not covered. So I got the technician nevertheless, and he said the indoor panel is working fine, the outdoor panel is not. Then AHS said even though the outside panel is not working fully, the switches to turn on the pump work, so they won't cover it
I have a few more examples like this, where I have spent many hours with them on calls. If you read the fine print - Everything which is covered in the contract is NOT actually covered. There is an exception list NOT mentioned in the contract "Section E" which basically says what is covered and what is not. They dont cover electronics, these days everything is electronic, home appliances, a/c, pool, garage doors, etc, and you are at their mercy, most probably they'll tell you because the fault is electronic in nature, it's not covered. Basically they'll find a way of not fixing any of the expensive stuff, so in the end you'll realize, you were far better off without this warranty.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. I will follow up with you as soon as possible in an effort to assist with unresolved issues. Thanks for your patience.

Updated on 11/14/2019: After almost THREE MONTHS, I am STILL waiting for my tub motor to be repaired! I have spoken to numerous customer service people, and they keep telling me "AHS has 48 hours to respond to your complaint." It has been WAAAAY OVER 48 HOURS and STILL no repair to my tub motor. I received a phone call from the last plumbing company to set up an appointment to come out. THEY don't even know WHY AHS is sending them out AGAIN, when their technician said he "cannot repair the motor".
I don't know WHAT MORE AHS wants me to do! They are supposed to REPLACE the appliance if it cannot be repaired. Their commercial says "No matter HOW OLD the appliance is" they will repair/replace it! I have read several BAD reviews of AHS, and now I am beginning to understand WHY!!! I feel that AHS is in BREACH OF CONTRACT, because they have not repaired my tub motor OR replaced the tub! I wish SOMEONE could help me with this ongoing issue!!!
Original Review: The plumbing company came out to look at our therapy tub. First guy took all the information, but I was told he lost his cell phone and they had to send someone else to get the motor information. Now we've been told that they cannot get the motor. AHS is going to send ANOTHER plumbing company to try to fix the motor. I called AHS as a potential customer and was told if they couldn't fix the appliance on the FIRST attempt, they would replace it. Why do I have to take MORE time away from work to meet with ANOTHER vendor??? How many vendors before they replace the tub??? This has been ongoing for over two months!
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. I will follow up with you as soon as possible in an effort to assist with unresolved issues. Thanks for your patience.

Next week I called, same answer but I insisted to look into further- was informed that - "yes report is there and we are waiting for authorization depart." Called in another week- was told no report from tech?? Started the same cycle and was told the same answer. Still waiting and sick of this company. All the reviews I see- I can bet are from the company itself. Do not sign up with this company please.

The plumber AHS sent did not do a very good job. When the issue started, I told them that I needed an HVAC person, somebody who could fix heating. The guy they sent replaced the hot water tank, but he didn't know how to check and see if it was working properly in conjunction with the furnace. That was when he informed me he was not an HVAC man. I don't know if AHS didn't order an HVAC man to come out or if they ordered an HVAC man and he said that he was. All I know is that they needed to get somebody else to come in here and fix the problem. A second person came and was able to find the problem. Because of the new hot water tank, the lines had to be bled into the furnace. They knew how to do that and got the furnace working properly. All in all, AHS did a good job of getting the issue resolved.

ASAP Plumbing Services of San Antonio were here two different times. There was a leak in the kitchen sink, not on the garbage disposal side, but on the other side underneath in the drain area. I called American Home Shield and spoke to an actual rep like I always do. She was fine. And I always verify my contract, and I check with the rep to see if it’s something that’s covered. They tell me to expect out the contractors within 48 hours. But I’m proactive. Within 30 minutes, I call the contracted company, and I make sure I’m on the books if it’s something that I need taken care of quickly. I requested ASAP again. They did a pretty good job and they came promptly. It was the next day. Since then, it seems not leaking at all under the sink where the pipe was.

American Home Shield is a great service to have, especially when buying a used home. Something always pops up and they have been great for getting things fixed. I usually submit a claim through the website and navigating through the site is straightforward. There might be a little more options or place to describe everything, but there was a place to list the information that we need to request. My original claim was for a pipe that was leaking, and the contractor came in and replaced the corroded part with a new pipe. It was great service and we were even asked to add an extra shut-off valve right by where he was replacing the pipe, so we could just shut off water to the entire house and not have an issue if that incident ever happened again. So, everything has been great. Also, we’ve had good interactions with everyone that has come out.

I had a claim for a plumbing stoppage on the commode and Lone Star Water was sent out. They tried to flush it out but it didn't work. We have to find the roots and it isn't covered so it's on us now. While Lone Star was fine, Home Shield needs to pick up on their customer service. They put us on hold forever, like 45 minutes or an hour, so I made the vendor do it. Home Shield bought a lot of the home warranties, so now they're just one company, and trying to get a hold of them is ridiculous. Their protocol is becoming lax.

Our sink was clogged up. Submitting a claim to AHS was very easy and the contractor they sent, Air Pro Master, had techs that were very good people. They knew what they were doing. However, for air conditioning and water heaters, I think I pay AHS enough money that I almost pay for a brand new water heater myself. After coming down to it, I could probably get a cheaper water heater by going through Home Depot or Lowe's or Sam's Club compared to what AHS charges us for service calls.
One time, I had a big problem with the air conditioner. It went out. When it went out, their techs said that there's a piece that wasn't automated. The techs have been out at my place how many times and they never mentioned that piece before. All of a sudden, because AHS has to replace a whole air conditioner, they say that a certain piece caused it to go out so they won't cover it. If anybody asks me about a home warranty, I would not tell them, "Go to Home Shield,".
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. I will follow up with you as soon as possible in an effort to assist with unresolved issues. I just sent you an email. Thanks for your patience.

A couple of my buddies that already had accounts with American Home Shield recommended it and I've been with them for six months now. I went online and filed a claim for a stove and a refrigerator on our back porch. Their claims process was easy. They got to me straight away, gave me a claim number and told me who was gonna call me. 3 Boys Appliance Repair called, came out and fixed the stove quickly. And then, they had to order parts for our refrigerator that was not freezing. Within two weeks they didn’t call us back. I tried to reach out to them and left about five messages trying to figure out why they hadn’t called back. When I finally got a hold of them, they said that AHS denied the claim on the refrigerator for some reason and that they were supposed to call me and tell me that it was denied. And then they just hung up.
I’ve been busy. I've been traveling all over the place and being as it is, a back porch fridge, it’s not essential. So, I haven’t reached out to AHS. The AHS part in everything went great. As far as 3 Boys, initially, everything was good but their responsiveness was not good. I looked on some reviews on them and they didn’t have really good reviews.

The American Home Shield people sets the appointment up, and then they would reach out to us about the timing of the appointment. And then the contractors would show up on the time and day that they scheduled with us. Day’s Appliance Repair had to come out the first time to look at all the appliances with the exception of the refrigerator. Upon further notice, I thought the refrigerator was included, but it wasn’t on the ticket. So, I asked them to reopen the ticket to relook at the refrigerator, and the rep did a good job. He was prompt and provided the report within a day.
One of the appliances such as the dishwasher had a repair, and we declined the repair in lieu of us going ahead and buying a new appliance to match the other ones. But on the other one, the repairs were significant to the point where American Home Shield provided us with options for replacement or cash. In that situation, we chose the new replacement, with the exception of the range. They offered just $400 cash for that item, and we used that towards a new appliance. The only hiccup that we ran into was that since I had aluminum wiring in the house, they couldn’t do the full install of the microwave oven wall unit out of insurance’s sake. But they delivered and took out the old, so it all worked out.
Good afternoon John,

The garbage disposal was making a noise, but it wasn't turning. I filed a claim online with AHS and it was very easy to navigate. A technician from Infinity Plumbing came out after two days. The timeframe was alright for most things. It was not super important, but it was framed for what I was calling about. And when the tech came it only took five minutes to fix the problem. Apparently, there's a little switch in the garbage disposal that can sometimes be knocked around. He reached his hand in, poked around for like a few seconds and then did that and then turned on the garbage disposal, and it worked.

Sometimes, submitting claims to AHS can be difficult and I wait. Other times, I immediately get a text telling me that my claim has gone through and which contractor AHS is sending my claim to. It can take a while to get to contractors and I don't like that I can’t have a preferred repair person. One time, I called a company for an AC issue and the tech said that the coil on my air conditioner is going and that needed to be replaced. I told them I had a home warranty and they asked who my home warranty was. When I told them it was AHS, they said they were one of AHSs' listed companies so I called them to come. I've had that air conditioner repaired every time I turned it on in the spring. It wasn't getting fixed. The company that came initially is Total Air Care and they were awful. AHS should not book Total Air for me again.
Previously, AHS wasn't doing maintenance as they had already dropped that from their services. More recently, they added it backed on and I scheduled maintenance. Air Design AC & Heating, AHSs' contractor took two days to get my appointment confirmed. They came out within that week, looked at my furnace and they changed the filters. They charged me $75 per furnace which I thought was a little expensive. Still, other than that, my experience was fine.

The tech from Runyon Appliance, AHSs' contractor was very pleasant. He wasn't too chatty, came in and did what he needed to do. He asked us a couple of questions about what was going on. Also, before he pushed the refrigerator back, he asked if I wanna get back there and clean it. That area wasn't dirty but it was very dusty as all areas under refrigerators are. He gave me that opportunity and waited patiently while I vacuumed everything up. That was great.

The claims process of American Home Shield has always been challenging. Sometimes they are not sending out quality people so you have to be your own advocate to get the right person out there to evaluate your appliance, and Gilmore's is a great resource. They do a great job. The guy has lots of integrity, lots of knowledge and it's a good company to work with. I would definitely put him as one of the preferred folks.
We had five service calls on our refrigerator. The first couple of people came out and did stuff but never fixed it. Then they sent out this other guy from Asher Appliances and he was a total joke. He was there and within 24 hours, the appliance failed again. AHS was about to send out a fourth person from a different company. I called the company and they said that they don't repair appliances. They just come out and diagnose the problem. When we called AHS back, they were sending back the guy from Asher. I said, "No. He's not coming back to my house." I asked AHS why they are not sending Gilmore's Appliance who was here in April of 2019 and fixed the appliance since they're familiar with it. Finally, after advocating, they did end up sending Gilmore's out.
Gilmore's Appliance said the unit was not repairable. We got another ref and AHS said reimbursement check would only take five to seven days. But it has been three weeks now and we're still waiting. It has been painful to call their regular customer service because we never penetrate to the person. They were just reading a script. It's very frustrating as a customer, especially for us, in this case where we had multiple service calls for the same appliance. But the last time, when I got through to the person responsible for letting me know the next step, she was really helpful. AHS has to do some more training and make sure that their people are reading the notes and know what's going on.
Hi Debra,

We recently noticed that the AC wasn't cooling as usual, and the unit was just running and running and running. It got to a point where it wouldn't even cool the house anymore. That was when I called American Home Shield to see if they could come check it out. First Choice was good, but there was a company that American Home Shield had sent before that said they'd filled it up with Freon. Came to find out, it wasn't even filled up correctly. They were trying to sell me a brand new system, and I was like, "Wait a minute. Do I need a brand new system?" I had to follow up again with American Home Shield, and they sent First Choice. That was when Rene the owner said, "You don't need a new AC unit. It just needs to be repaired." Overall there have been little issues here and there but nothing that required extra attention.

Submitting claims with AHS is really easy. My work schedule is really crazy so the ability to do that online is beneficial for me. I had a claim for my microwave and everything was great. It took a little while because the previous microwave was old and they tried to find a piece to fix it but they were not able to get one. But then, the process of getting a new microwave and making sure it fits was great. The contractor just texted me and we worked out a time, and then they came here to put it in.

The real estate agent gave me a year of coverage with another company and before that coverage was up, I went with American Home Shield. They offered more coverage for less money per month and I’ve been with them for a little over a year now. There were a couple of times when I submitted a claim and then I realized that if I had looked up the issue a little bit longer, I could’ve solved it myself. When I cancelled the claims, there were no issues and I was not charged. So, their customer service was good.
I had an issue with my AC. The condenser was making a lot of noise and it's an old unit. The noise finally stopped since the technician checked the Freon level and found that it was half a pound low. I’ve had other people tell me that the contractors that AHS sends out are bad. People keep on telling me that once I need to submit a claim for a system like an AC unit, AHS will throw out all kinds of reasons to not provide coverage but I haven’t encountered that and so, I’m not too worried about it.

The guy that came up that day was very nice, polite and efficient.
I was skeptical with American Home Shield before. I just read a lot about it, and then years ago, we had friends in our neighborhood that were a part of it and believed in it, and I went with it. At first, I was only gonna get the major stuff, and then they gave me a special for one year, and then now, I think I'll continue it after the one year for the appliances.

Two of the burners of our stove weren’t working. We called American Home Shield and we had a guy come out. He looked at it, told us what we needed and ordered the part. Three days later, he was back and he fixed it, and that took care of it. It was a very simple and easy process. It would have been less expensive to buy a new stove ‘cause you can get them fairly cheaply, but with the process, it was well worth the money that we pay to have that peace of mind knowing if something goes wrong, that it’s just a phone call away. We can get it taken care of without having to worry about upsetting our budget.

American Home Shield sent Proven Professional Construction to fix the hole in the wall that was made when the shower of my boys were fixed. It was a two-part claim. One claim led to another claim. It took almost a month. I had to call and initiate things to get rolling again. We’re very disappointed because they came out and fixed the toilet, and then they said they had to order a part for the shower. And then about three weeks later, I called and the part hadn’t come in. So finally, the part came in, and they got somebody out the next week, and then I had to call back to see regarding the replacement part, but it wasn’t a replacement part that came in. They had replaced the whole thing. So, I had to do their job basically.

I've had AHS insurance since I've heard of them back in 2002, I have used them ever since. The plan has saved me in numerous ways! I highly recommend AHS to everyone I know that has a home. They are much better than any other service provider out on the market. My first home I had an issue with my furnace, they sent someone to come in and fix it, the repairman had to return numerous times, yet he finally got the job done. The repairs were all covered outside of my service fee. My current home I've had a large number of things go wrong in my home.
(#1) The dishwasher, which came with the house, was leaking all over the floor. (It needed the switch that tells the machine to stop bringing in the water replaced.) It was replaced yet when I called AHS to let them know that the machine wouldn't clean the dishes -the repairman said that I had hard water and that there wasn't anything that could be done, (when I have city water which is not hard), so I had to end up purchasing a new dishwasher myself years later (when I could afford it).
(#2) The dryer, which came with my house, was making beeping noises constantly, the repairman said that I needed a new dryer panel (he said that is practically like replacing the entire machine - he ordered it and when it came in he installed it - works great now).
(#3) A ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms stopped working (fan worked but not the light) - the repairman said that he needed to replace it - so it was replaced.
(#4) The refrigerator that came with the house stopped cooling off the refrigerator, freezer worked though. The repairman said that he needed to order a part, and then I was informed that the part is no longer made so we were to get a new refrigerator instead - it was replaced with similar.
(5) The new ceiling fan (item #3 above) broke down - the fan stopped working this time yet the light worked - was replaced yet again.
(6) At the same time as item #5 was being replaced I also had a kitchen ceiling fan that went out fan didn't work yet light did. This one was also replaced - for both the repairman just suggested that I go out on HomeDepot.com and pick out a ceiling fan I liked that was under $120 and let him know which ones I wanted - he went and purchased them and replaced them both at the same time.
(7) We found a crack in our sewer pipe right where it met with the cement, AHS covered the pipe, yet wouldn't cover the cement tear out and replacement, nor to have the hot water heater disconnected and reconnected so that the repairmen could obtain access to the pipe. I had to pay $1890 to have that all done, where AHS did cover the pipe replacement itself only. The servicemen did an awesome job, and were quick to set up the service day/time, yet the fact that I needed to come up with that much money when I thought AHS covered the entire problem was a shock to me. Now don't get me wrong. I love AHS as you can see they have done a lot for my family over time, yet I was disappointed as I had to borrow the funds from a relative, to cover the expenses that AHS wouldn't cover.
(8) Main floor toilet was leaking, and lower level shower had a slow leak, I was able to have these also fixed on the same ticket as the sewer pipe issue. In fact the sewer pipe issue confirmed to me that I've had a leak in my toilet on my main floor (where others just kept telling me that it was just air in the line), both issues were repaired without any additional cost to me.
Something to understand which I just recently found out is that if there is a plumbing issue or an electrical issue where the issue is not easily accessible they do not cover the parts where things are in the walls or in the cement (in my case). This was news to me where I didn't understand that before. I know AHS is awesome, and that they are much better than other companies out there and I will still continue to recommend them to others as without them I'd be in more distress without having money. I'm just a single parent with a chronically ill child and I'm always broke because of her medical expenses, and such that home expenses are out of my range of cost. So American Home Shield (AHS) to the rescue!

A friend told me she had American Home Shield, and after reading the reviews, I got the warranty. A guy assisted me at that time, and he explained the process to me. The only thing was that I may have misunderstood it when he said that they suggest to hold off if something breaks down, and then call in all at once to save money, which I did. My refrigerator had broken, then my washing machine, and then my air conditioner. I called them for three things thinking I would have to pay $100, but their rep said that it doesn't work like that. She said it was per technician, like the air condition person can't fix my appliances and the appliance person can't do the electrical work. So then I told her to just send out the air conditioner contractor. That was a disappointment because it wasn't explained to me correctly, but other than that, the gentleman was super nice.
The tech then gave me a time frame and then he called about an hour before he got here. He was here on time and he introduced himself. He had his badge on, with his picture on it. That was confirmed online in the email I was sent which had a picture of who was coming out to me. I walked him out to the unit in the backyard and then he walked me through what he was doing. When he found out what was going wrong, he explained to me what it was and what it does for the unit. And then it took him 10 minutes to fix it. He was great.

That's when I said "forget it" and decided that I was not gonna deal with them anymore.
Another time, I had a contractor out for air conditioning. That guy came out and wanted to mock me. I needed Freon at the time and he wanted to charge me almost $900 for it. I called AHS for another company and it only cost me $400 to fill my older system with Freon. Despite these issues, overall I've had success with AHS when I call them for repairs. I initially placed the call to American Home Shield for service for my AC unit. The service guy that came out was nice enough, but he didn't do anything on the first visit. I was very specific in letting him know that the large unit was not working. And he said that he did something to the small unit, but nothing to the large unit. But he never, ever went in the attic to look at the unit and service it at all. He only went outside. And the large unit is the unit that cools the upper level, which is what was out and I explained that to him. He said that I would have to call AHS back and let them know that it was not repaired. About three hours later, I called AHS, spoke to the young lady in the office and explained to her what happened. She said that she would reopen the ticket and send the man back out. The man came back out and took my unit out from upstairs. I was without air for approximately two weeks.
Finally, he came back and brought the unit back in, and it was fine. And then, I got an email from AHS saying that I owed 75 additional dollars. I told them that that was incorrect. That I paid the first time but the order was not fulfilled. And the young lady told me that she was gonna keep the ticket open for me just in case it didn't work, and she did. So, there was not supposed to be an additional charge. It was a crazy experience and I was livid. I even called AHS, told them that I needed somebody else to come out. The freezer wasn't cooling on the refrigerator. I thought it was just the control board issue. I submitted a claim to AHS but I wasn’t very happy with the first contractor that they sent out. The guy asked some questions about how long I've had my insurance, which wasn’t appropriate. That was none of his business. And then, he just looked at the ref and said he'd just call me because he needed parts. And he just walked out. When he came back, I wasn’t there. I had a friend come over to meet him and same thing happened. My friend said he just walked in, hardly said anything and put the parts in. And then, he called me but I couldn’t answer, so he text me and said that he doesn’t work on replacing compressors, because the control board he put in was not the only issue. I said, “Okay. So, what was the purpose of you coming out if you don’t work on compressors?” He said, “Refrigerator that doesn’t cool down.”
I called AHS and they sent out another crew who was very professional and neat. He came in, looked at the thing and explained to me everything that was wrong. He said that for the cost of repairs, parts, he couldn't replace it. He said to make other means of having my stuff cool because the repair might be a little while. But the response from AHS was quick. And even the report that they submit to AHS, it was very good. Also, the AHS claims reps I've talked to have been good. Sometimes, I have to hold on, but that’s understandable. They're busy and I'm a patient guy, so it's okay. It was just stuck and then the washing machine wouldn't power on. We had dishwasher and washing machine issues which happened within a week, so I called AHS about both items. The rep I spoke with was great.
The guy from Appliance Protection who came out was fantastic. I wasn't home, but I had a kid who was home, and she told me how great he was and made sure if they were to actually give him a review, she would highly recommend them. The contractor was very informative and attentive. My kids were there and were curious and had a lot of questions. And he took time to explain what he was doing and he didn't mind that. He called me at work to explain to me as well what happened and what he saw. He made it clear to me that because it was a button that has to do with locking the machine, it may or may not be covered because it was not a function button. But he said that he would disarm it, at least. He could take the panel off, disarm the button, and then it wouldn't pose an issue. He did that versus just not addressing it at all when he didn't really have to address it.
Almost two weeks ago, the same issue came up with the buttons of the dishwasher. I unloaded it and loaded it back up and pushed power, and nothing was happening on it. So, I called AHS, and they said, "It's still the same claim. There wouldn't be another fee paid." So, I talked to the same appliance people and the gentleman said that oftentimes, if the part that he replaced fails again, then he could replace a part. He said, "Instead of me coming to your house and looking into it, I'll go ahead and order it, and then I'll come with the part to fix it." So, I'm now waiting for him to come back with the part. However, I haven't heard back yet to see if the part is in. I've just called them early last week but I'll have to follow up and see where it is now. We've been washing just by hand now so I miss having a dishwasher for sure.

My faucet broke as the knob on it stopped controlling the faucet so the water was running into my tub. It happened Sunday morning and I filed the claim at American Home Shield that morning. I appreciated the timeliness and promptness of their emergency response. The tech from High Priority Plumbing and Services came out the same Sunday ‘cause it was an emergency. It would have ruined something if it had kept running at that rate. He put a new washer and stem in the tub which took him an hour, and it has been doing great ever since. Everything was excellent and on point.

American Home Shield sent Accu-Plumb for my hot water heater. It wasn’t’ working. They came out and repaired it. I called the home warranty company and they submitted the claim to them. I spoke with a person and I got an estimation as to when to expect the contractors out. It was on a weekend and they said they had like a 24-hour. So, I wasn’t really satisfied with what they told me because I called on a Thursday and the person didn’t come until that Monday. I just didn’t like their response time. I was expecting a sooner response time. Other than that, I was satisfied with Accu-Plumb. There was a claim that I had an issue with. American Home Shield gave me one time, and then when I got in contact with the vendor, they said they couldn’t meet that time. It seemed like they need to have a better coordination on what time they’re gonna come.

AT Appliances came out and fixed my refrigerator. And then the dishwasher. The contractor came out and he checked the dishwasher over and replaced the upper sprayer on the top. And then everything seemed to work. Except when the first time I used the dishwasher, it leaked. Then underneath my sink was full of water, and it was leaking out the bottom. Because the dishwasher also had a leak somewhere else and the guy didn’t find it on the first visit, so when he put the new blade in, the sprayer created more pressure and it somehow made a hole in the hose to the garbage disposal. That’s what caused the leak. So I ended up with a new motor for the dishwasher and a new garbage disposal. I really liked the guy they sent. He explained what he was doing as he moved along, and he seemed like he had a world of experience with appliances. And when he had to come back because I had a leak, it bothered him that he didn’t see that before.

In my routine maintenance that was done, not by Home Shield, but another company, I was told I needed to get a new heater, and that they had to shut my heater down and put a tag on it because the carbon monoxide level was over the legal limit. They also said the heat exchanger was cracked and my flame was not working right. I then called American Home Shield and they sent out a company, and that company said everything was fine, there was no crack, my carbon monoxide was not over the legal limit and it was not true that my flame was not working right. The contractor was fantastic 'cause he explained everything. There were a couple times where they sent out a really bad plumbing company who knew and did nothing. I had taken a day off work, and it was a big waste. I ended up just going to the plumbing company that I know, that was reliable. I’m happy now.

I didn't want him to come out and say that I checked the filter, but the issue wasn't the filter, it was the motor. He had to come out and look at it. I wasn't home and I let him in the backyard. We have had American Home Shield for 1 year. At first I was very happy with the company, but recently I’ve had to deal with their customer service and to say the least, it’s nonexistent. My AC compressor went out 10 months ago and AHS sent a company to repair it. 10 months later, the same part has gone out. AHS wants us to pay another service fee, along with paying for Freon at $90 per pound, and they are sending a refurbished part from some company out of Tennessee called ARCO who’s parts keep failing.
My AC takes 11 pounds of Freon, so they want us to keep paying for Freon, service calls and go through the inconvenience of being without air. When you call to talk with someone, they never let you talk to a manger, it’s just people in other countries acting like they want to help. I’ve been hung up on 3 times. AHS doesn’t know what’s going on in their customer service department or in the authorization department and neither does the AC company. Pathetic!!!

Updated on 10/20/2019: Potential/Existing Customers: Be Aware AHS is doing everything to not deliver what it's promised. My A/C is leaking and a vendor did an inspection. It determined that the internal coils need to be fixed and AHS is supposed to pay for it by contract. However, AHS falsifies that it's the underground broken line. The truth is the underground line if perfectly fine AND the same vendor said so. This proves that AHS is nothing but a crook, a fraud, and a scam. I will do everything to let the state attorney's office and BBB know about its practice to stop it. One of the social media specialists responded to my earlier complaints. However, she is not your advocate or try to solve AHS' problems. Therefore, the best option is to publicize your bad experience with AHS and let their potential customers be aware of what they get into before they sign up for the warranty service.
Original Review: We reported an AC problem 2 weeks ago and still not fixed yet. So far AHS used all kinds of tactics for delay and not paying for fixing. I have been a loyal customer for >6 years and rarely use the service, simply want to have a peace of mind. Unfortunately AHS has a different agenda. I hope a manager from AHS would contact me ASAP to work out a solution. Otherwise, AHS gives me no options but publish my true experience on every popular site and let its potential warranty buyers know what AHS is truly up to. Also, the experience will be reported to FTC, State Attorney's office, BBB, etc if no response.
Good Morning Yi,

They called me this morning (Wednesday) and said I was all set. I have been trying to reach someone at the a/c business with no success. I am unable to reach anyone at AHS to find another company to do the work. It seems to me that they deliberately do NOT provide a contact for a supervisor for a reason, but I cannot imagine what that reason would be. Before you sign on with this company, do a test run to see how successful you are with reaching anyone who would be able to assist you with a problem. I'm willing to bet you'll run as fast and far from this business as you can. I know I will.

I waited but no call received so I called on 10/16/19 and spoke to Chris. He stated that a call from cash-out department left a message. He gave me their number.
I called and Mike stated AHS will give an estimated figure, but when I asked for this in writing, I was told no. He said to email or fax in my receipts for a new heater and installation fee. I asked him why he could not email me and he stated they cannot email outside of the company. No Guaranty!! AHS makes you do an action that they are not willing to do. The absolute worst service of any warranty company out there. If you live in rural America it will take weeks before you see a service tech. You can't use the one in town if you have one, because they most likely are not in "their" system and if they do approve them the next time they will make you jump through all kinds of hoops to use them again. They contract out their customer service to a foreign country so you get to speak to someone who does not fully understand English. I'm sorry but that takes at least an hour to get your request understood by them. If you like to be frustrated, disappointed, and speak to someone for hours who doesn't really understand what you need, then pick this company and they will not disappoint you. Otherwise avoid American Home Shield at all cost. I tried to cancel with them and I was told I would have to wait 24 hours for them to call me. I can't wait for that conversation!!!!

I called American Home Shield regarding my ceiling fan, and then I had some electrical GFCIs and outlets that were not working. And when the tech came to the house, he said my ceiling fan wasn't on the order. What's happening a lot lately is I'm calling AHS and I tell them what's wrong, and when the techs get here, they don't have it on their work order. And it's very disturbing because now, when I do a work order, it's getting messed up and I make the AHS representatives repeat themselves because everybody's writing down the wrong stuff.
Submitting claims is another problem because a lot of times, it's the automated system, and then if I had two ceiling fans, it doesn't let me do that. So then, I'll have to call back. The people that I speak to in the Philippines always get things wrong every single time. I don't know if it's the language barrier, but they keep doing it. I kept saying, "Ceiling fans," and the Filipino tech's saying, "Oh, exhaust fan?" It's frustrating for me because I'm just calling up to get service. I don't wanna sit on the phone for an hour, and I don't want the techs to come to my house and have the wrong information when they walk in the door. It's not fair to me.
The contractor from Zen Appliance who came out was nice and polite, but I called AHS and asked why he was doing electricity. I was calling them up and I wanted them to talk to him. And then, when I can't get him on the phone, they said, "Yes, the exhaust fan is on the work order." I told him I never said it was the exhaust fan. And the worker at AHS was like, "Yes, I hear you. I hear you wanted your exhaust fan looked at." Then he said, "Okay, I'll look at the ceiling fan as long as you make another work order." I then said, "No, I'm not doing that. I'm not paying another $75 when you're standing in my house and they've all got it wrong. It's not fair to me." The Zen person came out to my house twice and he was very professional. He was really super excellent. And the man from the City Electrical was great. It's not his fault they're asking him to add something because he just wants to get paid, so I understand that.
I apologize for the inconvenience Tammy as I can understand your frustration. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you in an effort to make sure your claim is resolved.

Big-ticket items aren't really covered by American Home Shield. A lot of reputable companies won't work with insurance companies like American Home Shield 'cause they don't pay enough. American Home Shield couldn't find contractors with two of the jobs because contractors won't work with them especially in the area where we live. The contractors got enough business where they're getting paid and reimbursed for full service. The rates were kinda negotiated. So, I had to go out and find my own contractor at one point. The job was about $5,000 to replace out a compressed air system and AHS reimbursed me about $1,100.
It's sort of mathematical for me trying to figure out what the real true value of the policy is at this point, knowing that if anything goes wrong, we only get reimbursed from a deductible based on the appliances that we have in our home. If you got any kind of decent appliances, then you're covered for the absolute basics, like $200 for a washing machine that could cost $800.

That set me back for a month though and American Home Shield keeps trying to bill me for the $75 that I had already paid. They're not gonna get that again and they should quit billing me for it. But recently, American Home Shield sent Gulfside Plumbing out for a garbage disposal claim and it worked out great.

We had a plugged-up sewer line in the middle of the house. We called American Home Shield and spoke to a representative. They called with the referral to Heros Plumbing. We then called them to set up an appointment. The tech was a good guy. He was in and out of there in less than an hour. I'd use him again. But we didn't determine what plugged up the sewer line and if the sewer line was broken because they didn't go under the house and look at it. He just ran a snake through it and cleared it. He said if he had to run a camera down there, it was an extra charge.
We’re still waiting for a check for $1,249 on an air conditioning claim and a furnace claim. It's been over four to six weeks and American Home Shield keeps saying it's in process. We had to submit the bill at least two times and the invoice, and we still have not received the check. We have been going back and forth in person on the telephone with the supervisor to process the claim, from the beginning. And it’s been a hassle. It may be over two months to try to settle this bill with American Home Shield. I paid the air conditioning and the furnace company on this. I don’t mind waiting a while. It says 20 to 30 days to get a check. But after 30 days, that’s way too long for an insurance claim to be paid.
I’ve been a builder for 65 years and also spent 12 years in the real estate business. When I was in the real estate business, American Home Shield was one of the ones that I referred to my buyers and sellers. I thought American Home Shield was the top one out of the three. My choice for my personal use was American Home Shield, so we have it on our rental policy and home policy here. They are getting 1,300 to 1,400 a year of premiums from us. But if they don’t send us the check pretty soon, I won’t renew the policy in January.
Another thing is that when we call in to report a problem, the phone calls are from the Philippines or some foreign country, and we have a very difficult time understanding their English. American Home Shield needs to have better speaking English people or quit putting it out to foreign countries, where we have to sit and listen on a speakerphone. And sometimes it takes 15 or 20 minutes to get our message through and to listen to what they have to say.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service. I will follow up with you as soon as possible in an effort to assist with unresolved issues. Thanks for your patience.

The refrigerator stopped working and I did the online submission for the claim. American Home Shield was very responsive and I got a call from a technician. It was diagnosed right away and it just needed a part. They did a nice job and they were professional and knowledgeable. There was a different technician who came out to do the install than the one who came out to diagnose it. It wasn’t that big of a deal for me to explain what he was looking for and what he was there to fix but having the same technician throughout might be helpful.

Vortex Construction came out and fixed my AC that had a leak. I've had AHS for 2 years now and submitting a claim is fairly easy. I prefer to call it in and the customer service is good and they’re usually quick with their response time. But when I call after hours, sometimes it seems like they have people from foreign countries and it’s difficult to understand them. Other than that, the contractors I’ve had have been good so far and I haven’t had any issues with them.

We submitted a claim to American Home Shield for a washer issue and they sent All City Appliance to do service. However, the tech had to come back because he couldn't fix anything until the plumbing is fixed. He called to check up on us yesterday which I thought was really cool. He told me to let him know if the job is done before the 31st so that he could make arrangements to come before that. There was water coming from under one of the basement walls of my house that is about 100 years old. Initially, we thought that our freezer was leaking and maybe the ice there has melted. We realized it wasn't that. We had no idea that one of the original pipes between one of our walls had split.
More recently, a plumber from Live Green was sent. They were really helpful and I thank them because the first plumbing company that was sent said they were coming but never showed up. They took the job and didn't complete it. I called a few times, they didn't answer the phone. The plumber from Live Green was very polite and informative. He did a good job and he explained to me what they needed to do. He is coming back today to finish the plumbing job.

When SDL Plumbing first came out, it was just to fix the kitchen faucet that was leaking. We had to do a return visit because it didn’t get fixed all the way. But they did it. They were always professional, and they showed up when they needed to, and they did eventually resolved the problem. They were very good. The first gentleman who came out just didn’t have the experience on the brand of faucet that we had, and so he installed the part wrongly. And so, the second one came out and he knew what he was doing and fixed it quickly. Both of them were courteous.
I submitted this particular claim online. American Home Shield's website is pretty good. They were very considerate when I called back and they got somebody out right away. The only frustrations I've had in the past is sometimes, it will list similar addresses or it will list previous contract years, and every year, you have a new contract number, and I would just like to see the most updated one. Also, when you have to call American Home Shield's general customer service number, there can be a wait to get ahold of an actual rep. When they're really busy, it could be 10 or 15 minutes. And I've had service guys come out and then get on the line to get something authorized or approved by them, and they’ve been on hold for 20 minutes. And then, sometimes on the busy times of day, they don’t have enough agents available to get to all the calls.

Things have been fine now and A-American was good, but we've got some very questionable people and companies the times before. Home Shield should do a little bit more research in who they're getting to do the work because it seems that they're just going with the very cheapest person. And, I, being the customer, am the one who has to deal with those type of people. Their communication is one of the biggest things that's most upsetting.

AHS assigned me two contractors. One of them came out and the other reported to AHS as if he came out but he never did. He lied. I had two claims. Everything went okay with the one for the washer and it is now installed. For the one for the stove, I placed the initial claim for it over six months ago and there were no parts for the techs to repair it. I had to get a new one. When AHS sent me my options, they sent me a bunch of options for a gas-powered unit but for an electrical connection, there was only one option and it was not the right size nor fit.
When Erica from Hometown Appliance came, I asked her to help me figure out the right size of the unit. She was the best tech I've ever dealt with. We went online and we found a General Electric model that she said would fit. I ordered it and had to pay an extra 200 and something. When Hometown came again to install the stove, they said that the way the old stove was attached to the counter was beyond their scope. So, I needed to contact AHS who would assign a handyman to remove my old stove before the new one came in. With AHS, it's hit-and-miss. Sometimes service is great such as when my washer was fixed easy-peasy. Now, I still have the new stove sitting in my kitchen in a huge box and I don't know what I'm going to do. I had to pay extra $300 for this appliance, which I don’t even know will fit and I can’t get it installed.
Hi Hila,

When I called American Home Shield to place the order to ask if the service was covered and to get that set up, the rep was very good. She was very pleasant and very thorough. And then the contractor did a fantastic job.
When I have called on American Home Shield, they were great. But I had a situation that happened with one of the representatives that I called. I was ready to cut them loose because of that conversation with her. When I set up the appointment, I was under the impression that the time frame I had, I would have someone that was gonna be available. However, when I called Morris Plumbing, I found out that there was a different time frame. Nobody was gonna be there for that time frame, so it was not good.
The person that I got at American Home Shield was the worst. I called to let her know that we weren't gonna have anyone and if there was something else we can do. She said, “No. It says you have to be available when somebody comes out.” I tried to explain to her that the time frame was not gonna let me be there. I asked her again if there was something else we can do, and she just said no. She kept going on, and she talked to me like, “I don’t care.” It was like they can't bend and they can't help me out. I’m a Christian and she had me a step away from cursing. I really was so upset with her. And I told her to take my credit card and my name out their list. She really needs to learn how to talk to people.

We needed to have a dishwasher repaired and we ended up having to replace it. The AHS rep I spoke with has been very good. The contractor that was sent out was fine. They needed a part, which the contractor ordered. However, I did not get a call back telling me that it needed to be replaced. A week later, I called AHS and placed the order. I got a new GE dishwasher. The company that brought the dishwasher was supposed to do the install and take the old one. However, they just came in, dropped the box, and said it's too big to go in the opening of the old dishwasher. They didn't even open the box and just left it in the middle of my kitchen and left. They told me to call AHS. And I did, and I let them know I was unhappy. They said that I okayed it when they ordered it, so the size that we got was the right size. And then my son opened the box and it was so. My son installed it, and it fits beautifully.
So, they technically should've sent somebody back out, but by that time, I was a little frustrated and not in the mood to wait for an installer. Maybe it's in the corner and the people who delivered it didn't think it was gonna be easy to access it. And to take the old one out, they had to adjust the legs a little bit to take it out because it has adjustable feet on it. It took my son about eight hours to do it. He's mechanical, but he has never done that. He got it installed and we haven't had any issues. It's been a month and the old dishwasher is still sitting in my kitchen. AHS said that I was allowed up to $45 to have it taken away so I don't feel like that was AHS's fault. I just didn't wanna have to pay the $45 and then submit the bill. I'm actually getting ready to do some repairs on the house and I'm gonna have a dumpster. So, I'm just gonna throw it in the dumpster.
I've had a home warranty for 14 years on this house. The original person I bought it from had supplied a warranty, and I kept that for 12 years. And I had a friend who told me that there was another one that was better and that I should switch. And I've now gotten rid of him too. Because the one I had was really good. And then, because I was so unhappy with them, I started to research, and that's when I chose to go with American Home Shield.

I requested a service call for my tenants who have a 3 year old child last Thursday, Oct 10th. The service provider called to inform me that ahs had the wrong address and they would not be able to come out until I had called them to correct it which I did immediately. I called him back and they stated they could not come until the next Day, Oct 11th. The service provider showed up on Oct 11th and stated he needed cut off a piece of the unit and then weld it back together (Basically to modify the unit) and the cost would be over $1k to repair. My tenant nor I have those funds so we refused the work.
I contacted AHS and requested that someone else be sent. I did not buy the agreement to have my unit modified. I was told the work orders had not been yet received and they would have to see them before anything further could be done. I advised them of the child living in the home and that I was dissatisfied with the service. I requested a call from a manager and was told one would call me back in an hour and was then transferred to the escalation department. I was told the same thing. Nothing could be done until the work orders were received.
The contractor was called and they stated they would get them by the evening. I requested that if a contractor who worked on Saturday could be found to please send them as soon as the work orders were received. No manager called and nothing happened over the weekend. My tenant called Monday at 5:00 to see what was happening with the repair? I again contacted Ahs to be told that the work orders had not been received and that they called the contractor and they said they would forward them. I explained my call on Friday and that someone should have followed up during the day to ensure they were received. The call was disconnected.
I received a call back and was transferred again to the escalation dept. only to have the same information repeated. I requested to speak with a manager. I was asked why? I explained I was not happy with ahs's service and wanted to bring the situation to the attention of a manager. I was disconnected once again and was called back. I explained that I no longer wanted to have the same information repeated and would no longer discuss the situation with someone other than a manager. The a/c has now been out for 5 days without a repair.
On Tuesday, October 15th, I once again called to see what the status of the repair was. I was told they were still waiting for the contractor to send the work orders. I then requested that my contract be cancelled due to ahs' extremely poor service. The a/c has been out for 6 days and nothing had been done. I was transferred to an internal department who requested the caller inform the customer that their call would be returned as they could not take a call for 10 minutes. I will try again to call tomorrow but only to cancel their services. There is no regard for the health of the 3 year old child who has been without a/c for 6 days nor is there any regard to correct their failure to follow up. I would not waste my time or money dealing with this company and will request my premiums be returned.
I can understand your frustration Debra as I know the importance of resolving an a/c issue, especially when tenants are involved. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you in an effort to resolve your claim. I look forward to assisting you.

I decided to cancel, spent 15 minutes with Ronnie (nice American name but English was so bad I could barely understand him) listening to reasons why I should stay. When I couldn't take it anymore and told him for the 4th time I'd like to just cancel my policy, he transferred me to Consumer Sales Dept, who tried to get me to not cancel AGAIN, before canceling my policy, and then charging me $108 to cancel. I cannot recommend avoiding this company enough. Unless you enjoy playing phone tag, waiting forever, and not having things repaired. We had our washer repaired. Took way too long. The company they sent to repair it misdiagnosed the problem requiring them to come out again. Finally fixed it. Our dishwasher door had something break on the day we moved into our house in June. We asked for a second opinion (it was the same company as our washer and knew they were awful). We received it and were told it was clearly a manufacturer issue and would be fixed by the technician. We called weeks later since we never heard back. We’re told they never heard from that technician and were unable to contact them. We didn’t hear from the company again until our realtor got involved, so they sent out a different technician from another company. Now they are saying the frame is bent (maybe because they door has been broken for months and was never repaired?) and it is not covered since the frame was bent by force.
Now knowing the dishwasher is not repairable we were told it is not covered. Fed up I decided we will cancel and find a different company, or just go without. Well guess what, when you try to cancel they charge you an administrative fee for cancelling! The man who has been in contact with me since our realtor got involved has been very nice, but a nice guy can’t make up for poor customer service by the company and a horrible company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I had a great experience with American Home Shield. My most recent claim was for the heat pump. My thermostat wasn't working right on it. I spoke to an excellent representative. Comfort King was the one that I asked for because they're the only one that I know who knows how to work on heat pumps correctly. Over the last 15 years since I've had American Home Shield, everyone has disconnected it, made it backwards, and nothing worked right.

Discovered refrigerator/freezer is not cooling and food has thawed out in both. Contacted AHS via the online portal to file a request. Still have not been contacted by repair technician. The claim remains open with no repair date in sight. Now they want me to do their job and find my own technician that they are paid to find. This is our second encounter with AHS this year. The first was for a failed Central Air conditioning unit that failed again with no response from AHS. We had to find our own HVAC repair company to make the system limp along for a week until the unit could be replaced. No refund of fees from AHS for this repair. Horrible Customer Service!
Good Morning Scott,
Thank you for partnering with me to reach a resolution on this matter. It was my pleasure assisting you and thank you for being the best part of American Home Shield!

5) I CALLED AHS to cancel within my 30 day money back guarantee because AHS was not able to provide the service that they claim to provide. 6) When I called, the customer service rep said if I sent the receipts that they could reimburse that way, they said it would take 2-3 weeks. 7) I told them it would take me out of my 30 day money back guarantee window and the rep said it would get extended. 8) AHS denied my CLAIM, I Cancelled my insurance. 9) I am out of pocket over $1000, and NOW because of your horrible service, horrible customer service EVERY STEP of the WAY, you now want me to pay an ADMIN FEE. 10) Let's add that EVERY single customer service rep was rude and condescending, some lied about what I was suppose to get, most didn't even care about the service I was trying obtain. YOU CAN NOT CLAIM IT IS IN THE CONTRACT IF YOU PROVIDE HORRIBLE, NEGLIGENT AND POTENTIALLY FRAUDULENT SERVICE.

I’m very satisfied with American Home Shield. Submitting claims is very easy. I just click on whatever I have to have fixed, and it tells me to pay and then gives me the company. It’s pretty fast, unless the contractors have to order a part. I can also ask the company that AHS selects what they’re gonna do. However, the tech they sent out recently for the air conditioner was very non-social. I couldn't ask him anything.

American Home Shield gives us some peace of mind that we won't have any crazy high bills to get things repaired. We've been with them for about a year and a half and I submit claims by phone because I forget that I can do it online. We've had one contractor out twice and they've been very good. They went beyond my expectations. The first time, there was a part in our air conditioner that caused the fan not to work and they were gonna have to order the part. But they did something so the fan ran all the time and it wouldn't shut off until they could come back with the part and fix it properly. Then the second time, we had to go up on the roof to get to the air conditioning unit. They spent some extra time and found out how to get up there, even though it wasn't easy and simple to do. Then they were able to make the repair.

I tried Consumers Energy and then DTE, but American Home Shield has more coverage so that attracted me to switch to them. Calling them is a pain and it takes forever. I initially tried to reach them through the phone as I did not know that I can schedule something on the website. But when I tried scheduling through the website, it worked well. So now, I usually schedule repair on their website. Then in terms of service, one comment I have is that there are small things which cost $50 or $60 if I ever have to hire somebody and those things are a little bit of expensive because out-of-the-pocket expenses are really high. If they would consider lowering certain out-of-pocket cost to a certain limit, then that would be great.
In a recent claim that I submitted, which was for the wall freezing in the upper portion of the refrigerator, Home Shield sent out Americare Appliance Repair. The guy who came was really professional and thorough in what he was doing. He made sure that the problem is just not isolated and not causing something else. Then, the way the guy explained the issue was that once the refrigerator gets a certain temperature, then it automatically shuts off something. But the sensor and the blower that sucks the cooling from the bottom was broken. He had to replace them and he called us back as soon as the parts were available, and then he came back and did the repair. He improved my whole refrigerator inside and made sure it’s all working. So, overall, I really had a good experience with that claim.

A1 Quality, the company AHS sent was good. They were professional and quick. But they came out once and then I thought everything was underway. I called back two weeks later and there was a lack of communication between A1 and AHS. However, A1 had everything ready to go in when they came back. I even called them to make sure they had all the measurements before they showed up because it was a very tight space. They had everything lined up to go when they got here, which was good because a lot of people don't take that extra step. It took about three weeks longer than I anticipated, but it got done before it started snowing.

Submitting claims online with American Home Shield is really easy, but the system defaults to the closest company that’s near your home. When the pipe burst open in my bedroom, the contractor said it was due to neglect and it was not a warranty issue. He flat out refused to do the work and left. He called AHS and told them that the case was closed. I didn't know and when I called AHS and they said that the case was closed. I said, “What are you talking about? I have water leaking all over my bedroom floor.” I have a boiler heater and unfortunately, boiler heaters can be a super-nightmare.
Whenever I put an online claim for the boiler, it defaults to that rude person. I have to call AHS and wait 45 minutes for somebody to answer to say that I don't want that company. I wish that when you go online, you could have a choice. Sometimes, I get frustrated when I’m waiting on hold. Then, my issue starts bubbling and boiling. And by the time I get a service person, I go “Aaargh!”
Otherwise, if I just need somebody to come over to fix something, I’ve pretty much lucked out with everybody I’ve had over at my house. When I had an electric issue, Ryco was able to fit me in the next day, which was really cool. The guy that came was very nice, professional, and did the job quickly. One of the electrical outlets wasn’t working. One of the wires was disconnected. He fixed that. The pull chains were broken from the ceiling fan and he fixed that. He also checked out the light switch. I was very impressed and would have them again. All in all, I’m happy with AHS. I’m in the process of buying another home and I’m asking for the people I’m buying it from to get a plan with AHS.

And now, my next appointment isn’t until November because it works around their new schedule. Since they're not so busy now, they're not taking later hours for people that work and for single moms that are teachers. Then, I've got this stupid microwave thing. They wanna replace it with a crummy microwave. I am so done and I really got robbed. As soon as I'm done with my year, I'm going to go back to some other company, because I was happy with the company I had before. AHS was cheaper so I switched. But you get what you pay for, and that was exactly what the air conditioner people said. They told me that American Home Shield would never replace my air conditioners. They both need to be replaced and I need to have a whole one now.

We've been with American Home Shield since the 90's and we're happy with them. We called them to file a claim when my husband and my son noticed that the dryer door was not shutting anymore and the latch needed to be repaired or replaced. American Home Shield told us LA Appliance would come out. The guy from LA Appliance was wonderful. Johnny was his name, and he's been out here a few times.
When Johnny came out here, the dryer was not heating up well either. So he did everything he needed to do. He cleaned it out for us and it was wonderful. Then he said that the door wasn't latching anymore and they need to do a new latch. We told him that we ordered a new latch because my husband and my son were gonna do that originally. So Johnny put in the part and he said that his company will just reimburse us for the part. He even wrote on the paperwork that customer provided the necessary part for the latch. He also said that he would write this on the bill. But we didn't hear anything back.
Johnny had to come back and redo the stove again because the same thing happened to the igniter switch. So when he came back, I told him that we never got reimbursed for that part. I called the gal that runs their office, Madison, and she told me that I went behind the scenes and I did it not to follow correct procedure. She said she would need to ask the manager about it, and she said she'd call me back. She called me back and she said they were not gonna reimburse me for the part because American Home Shield has to reimburse for the part. She gave me a number to call American Home Shield. I called and I spoke to a gal, and she gave me a reference call for that, and then I got hung up on. When I called back, I talked to Wendy and then told her all about it. She told me that LA Appliance did not follow correct protocol, and they should've had their tech call and say that the customer already has the part.
I called Madison back after I got the reference number from Wendy, and I talked to her on 12:20 on 10/4. I told her that Wendy said they didn't do what they were supposed to do. She then said it was up to her then to figure out what to do. I even asked to speak to her manager and she said nobody was there but her. I asked for the owner's number and she said he was hardly ever there. So she kept avoiding the issue. I told her that all I want is to be reimbursed for the part and that we would even be satisfied if they just replaced the part. But she kinda had an attitude and I told her that I like LA Appliance because they do a good job. Johnny is the one that lives in this area and they send him out here to do this stuff, and he's very thorough, but I would hate to see a blackball mark over $16.07. Then Madison told me that she was gonna go ahead and she would get back to you on Tuesday. But she never called me back.
I called again and I talked to Charmaine and I told her what had happened. She said Madison was aware that I was on the phone, but she was on another call, and that she would call me back and let me know. I told Charmaine that I gave Madison three weeks to call me and she never called me back. So Charmaine apologized that she didn't call me back, and she said she'll have her call me. But there's still no call back.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience Laurie. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you as I would like to look into your reimbursement. I look forward to assisting you.

We had an electrical issue in the house. There was a short in the line somewhere that suddenly developed. I called it in to Home Shield, and their representatives were good. We went through three different contractors from three different companies. The first one did a little bit of troubleshooting, and they ran out of time. He just came out for 20 minutes and said he couldn't do anything and he left. Home Shield set up another contractor. He came out, looked at it, and knew what he needed. He didn't want to do the job, though. He said that he would need to call Home Shield back and waste more time with another person. And he gave them a story that the wiring was underneath the foundation, but it wasn't. He couldn't do anything about it. Then the third contractor from LA General Contractor that came in had to come back three different times. But this guy was really good and he fixed the issue after three visits.
The overall process take about a month and a half from the day I called to the day it was finished. It took someone that was gonna be meticulous to kinda dive into it, go circuit by circuit in the house and troubleshoot the issue. Everything's fine now. The guy that they sent out was grand and excellent. I would highly recommend him.
At first, the communication was out there. They were really good about calling me back and texting when they're supposed to be there. After the first couple visits, I had to call them and find out what was going on. It kinda dropped off towards the end and I kinda had to do some callbacks to find out when people were supposed to be there or not. But overall, everything went okay.

When I had a heating issue, the first people that American Home Shield sent was Temperature Pros. When the guys showed up, they didn’t have any equipment or bag of tools. They came down below the house, opened up the furnace, looked at it, and put the furnace front back on. I explained the situation and he asked if he could check out the thermostat. I told him that I had had an original thermostat and that myself and a neighbor replaced it thinking that that might’ve been the problem. The exact same issue had happened the second time with the new thermostat so it probably wasn’t that. The guy said that if it was not the thermostat, then he didn't need to go inside. Then he left and said he’d be back with whatever it was gonna take to fix it. He was never very specific.
The whole time that he was here, he was going on and on about his boss hating the customers and the whole deal with AHS. His boss thought he’d be making money with AHS, but it turned out that they had replaced a whole bunch of units and now had to wait because it was like an insurance company. You apply and then wait for the reimbursements. I’m the customer and I should never hear that kind of stuff. Their customer service sucked. The Temperature Pros people sent back two guys when I called them up a month and a half later, but nobody came back after the first guy said that he’d be back with all the bells and whistles that he would need to fix it. The two guys gave me this big runaround. Same thing- they didn’t bring any tools and didn’t check any circuits.
The new people who got sent, the Lam-Air folks, were fantastic. And the lady on the phone was wonderful. The guy shows up with a bag of tricks and when he went down to the furnace, I told him exactly the same thing that I told the first guy from the other company. He had all the meters and all the tools that he needed. He even already had a switch and changed the switch right then and there. He also checked every circuit to make sure all the circuits were working. In 20 minutes, he was done and the thing was working like a charm. When I had a broken washing machine, the guy who came out took a look at everything and realized what was wrong. He had the part shipped here to my house and I called him when it arrived. He came right back and stuck it in there and it worked like a charm. I would always rate AHS top-of-the-line.

Our appliance claim with AHS didn’t go very well at all. The gentleman that first came out for the washing machine didn’t check it at all. He just listened to me tell him what it was doing and then he said, “Oh, yeah. I know what it is.” He ordered that part, came back in and it still didn’t work. So he said, "I know what it is now.” He said he talked to the Samsung people and they told him something else. He ordered that part and it still didn’t work. For the dryer, the tech that came in took it apart. He said that since it all was just the bearings, he fixed them a bit and it would be fine. However, it started doing its issue again the next day.
The tech came back in and he couldn’t even run it. So, he came out again and he has been out here five times and so far, he has not gotten anything fixed yet. After that, I waited another week for them to come back to me and tell me what they were gonna do and they never called me back with anything. I found out that I had bought the extra protection through Lowe’s. So, Lowe’s has already been out here one time to fix the dryer. They had the part for it and fixed it. As for the washing machine, we'd possibly be getting another one because there were a bunch of stuff with it that the guy didn’t even check out. I shouldn't have paid the $200 because I didn’t get any service out of both of those calls. The technicians that came out were fine but looking back, they didn’t know what they were doing.

The stuff in our house are fairly new, so we’ve only had to use AHS a couple of times. But for the most part, it’s usually pretty easy to request a service. We do it online and since I work on a computer, I usually use electronics for a lot of things and it’s easier to pull up their form with my phone and submit the service. Most of the issues we’ve had were on plumbing or appliances, and they always picked a really good company to come out and fix that.
For our latest claim, the lady that calls and schedules all the appointments at Hot Plumbing was super helpful and a pleasure to work with. And all the people that came out to do the actual work were really nice and professional. But for the last situation that we had for our dishwasher, the techs came out and looked at it, but the parts couldn’t be ordered. So, American Home Shield decided that they were going to replace the dishwasher. But it seemed to have taken a while for them to contact me about it and I didn't like that. Plus, they closed our ticket before letting us know that they were going to replace it. So, that caused some confusion when I checked the status online and saw that it was closed but I hadn’t heard anything back and I knew my dishwasher wasn’t fixed.

American Home Shield's customer service is hit or miss. You can get somebody who’s really helpful and wants to help you, and you can also get somebody who’s a total jerk. As somebody who has 25 years in customer service, I get that everybody has rough days. But some days, I’m just like, “I’m gonna hang up on you and call back, because I know I’ll get somebody else ‘cause you’re just annoying me.” ‘I had that experience once and I had to escalate the call to a supervisor to get something done. Other than that, I’ve had to put a few claims in and they’ve been pretty cut-and-dry. The company does what they need to do, I pay the company and everything goes smoothly.
Recently my garage door wasn’t working so I had to make a claim. I did it online because American Home Shield required that I submit everything online. With the other claims I’ve had to submit, I tried to call and they always referred me to go online, which is annoying because for health reasons, one of the claims needed to be done right away and it wasn’t. So, it pissed me off. Other than that, their website was user-friendly as it could be. I’ve navigated other websites that are worse.
The contractor who came out was helpful, friendly and kind. He was also honest. He gave us some information about how the garage door might need to be replaced but that we're better off waiting till it literally does not work anymore. He was like, “This is an old garage door opener, but if it was my house, I’d run it into the ground because they don’t make them like these anymore.” He could have sold me something, but he didn’t and I appreciated that. When I filed the claim over the phone, the American Home Shield rep asked me what the problem was. She offered to see if there was anything else going on and that’s when I remembered I had another issue with the plumbing. They pretty much worked both through those two together with the plumbing versus just waiting. She said I had to make sure that I address everything all at once, so they can just provide it to the company. It was good. Immediate Response Plumbing came out and they were great and really fast. When the guy first came in, he introduced himself and then he asked me what problem I was having. Then he went just straight to work, figured out the problem, and fixed it right away.

Submitting my claim for a rekey to AHS was extremely easy. I used the website and the process was just a button that said "Rekey". It was very clear. I paid the $75 then they scheduled a contracted locksmith to come out within a week. The service covered six locks. I had to pay for two more, but it was very clear within the scope of the contract that it only covered the six. The locksmith who was sent worked very efficiently and told me what he needed. I showed him the doors and he did everything within an hour and a half. He was very courteous and I had a good experience with AHS and him. It was better than I remember a home warranty being.

My experience was not good because I couldn’t get anyone out to service the units. When I kept calling American Home Shield, every single person that I spoke to would put me on hold for a minimum of 20, 25 minutes. They would do nothing but read scripts over and over. They couldn’t answer questions for me. There was one particular time where I just said, “Let me speak with a supervisor.” And they told me there’s no point in me speaking to a supervisor because, "They’re gonna tell you the same thing I’m telling you". My renter end up sitting in the house for a week without AC in 100 degrees in Atlanta ‘cause AHS couldn’t get anybody out there to fix the unit. It was very bad. I was paying every month and I couldn’t seem to get anybody to make things happen.
On top of that, Bestway damaged my unit and no one, myself nor American Home Shield, could get in contact with them to fix the unit for about a week until I had one of my friends get in his car and go find them. We had to drive up to a house to find them, but I had to do that on my end after a week because I couldn’t get American Home Shield to help me out. From the time we first filed a claim, Bestway came out to the property. They filled the unit up with a chemical that was not Freon, because when they put the chemical in, the unit still wasn’t working.
American Home Shield then turned around and called another company to come out. That company said, “We’re not servicing your unit because whoever serviced it prior to us put the wrong thing in. They put nitrogen in your unit, so your unit will not run. You need to call back the other company to get them to fix this.” But I knew that. I found that out from my renter. I never heard it from Bestway nor did I hear from American Home Shield. At that point, I called American Home Shield saying, “You gotta get Bestway back out there to fix it. You guys should’ve known this. You guys should’ve prepared to get this done.” Again, that was when I got through the holding process. There were times I would call them, and I would literally put the phone down and go back to work because I knew they’d put me on hold for an extremely long time. This happened for a couple of days.
After a week, Bestway came back out. They took the old unit away and put a new unit in. I made sure the unit was working, and I said, “I’m done with you guys.” When they first came out, I was told that I was going to have to pay $125 for them to do something. And I said, “Can someone explain to me what I’m paying the 125 for because I have a contract that says all this stuff is covered?” And they just kept giving me the runaround. I’ve already cancelled American Home Shield.
I certainly hate to hear that we did not provide the expected service. You have had several issue with us here at AHS & I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for sharing your feedback as we hope to improve processes for a better customer experience. Have a great week.

The door of the microwave was broken in several places and part of it was barely hanging on by a thin hair, making it unable to use. I submitted an online request to American Home Shield and their website was easy to use. Their rep said that they would be contacting me to schedule an appointment. And the very next day, the contractor already came like they said. The contractor was very polite and very professional. He was great. All of them has been. I just had a refrigerator issue that wasn't handled very well. But for this particular claim, everything has been performing 100% since the contractor came out.

My refrigerator stopped cooling and Cal Valley Appliance Repair came out again for the third time today. At this point, it's still not cool. But the technician said that I should give it 24 hours just like the previous times. Hopefully, at some point in the next 20 hours, it would start cooling. Still, I've been without a refrigerator for about two months now, and the timeframe has been the only issue that I have.
I didn't have a problem with the contractor and I don't know whether it's the refrigerator and they're just not really familiar with it. I also understand that there are some issues with the LG model, and that was shared with me by the contractor. I'm assuming that they did everything that they could. It just has not been successful. In this last, after they replaced the compressor, they said that something with the computer software was not communicating, and that took a while.
I had surgery in the midst of the waiting for that part to come in, so I was incapacitated for a couple of weeks. Once I was able to be up and mobile again, I began to call and inquire about the status because no one had called me to come and replace whatever the computer incompatibility was. And when I finally called and then began to be very frustrated in my call, they told me that the order for the part had just been placed that day. I was not happy about that and I'm not sure where the disconnect happened with that.
During the call, I told them that I was not trying to be difficult but I don't know whom the fault lies with. I just knew that I've been without a refrigerator for 2 months. And I still don't have one today. I've been paying for a service every month. Plus, I had to pay $100 for them to even come out and start the claim back in September. And now we're going into November and I still don't have a refrigerator. To me, that's not acceptable.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience Monica. I apologize for the way we handled your refrigerator claim. My name is Stacy and I've emailed to make sure your claim is resolved.

I received a policy from American Home Shield when I purchased my home. I did not use it much that first year and decided to extend the contract. This year I have had to make multiple claims related to major appliances, including my washer and most recently my refrigerator. The experience with AHS itself has been a disaster in trying to get my refrigerator fixed. The contractors they have assigned are rude and dismissive and done poor work. After 2 months of my refrigerator operating at almost 60 degrees, the issues have still not been resolved.
AHS keeps sending me back to the same contractor, on whom I have made a formal complaint. They told me they would "cash out" my claim so I could use a repair company of my own choosing, but insisted that I use the same contractor that I complained about to assess the amount for the cash out. That contractor then cancelled the appointment. The communication on status has been very poor. I do not recommend AHS and do not plan on renewing my contract this year.
Good Morning Dawn,

If I could give less than a 1 star rating I would. Back in mid July/2019 I called AHS to come out and fix my Maytag washing machine. Unable to fix it that day, the service Tech advised me he needle to order parts. After a few weeks go by I had to call and find out when is the part being delivered so the Tech can come out and fix my washer. AHS advised me the part was still not in and I had to wait. After many promises not being kept and after many follow up calls from me, the Machine is still not fixed.
Today is October 14th 2019 and the technician finally came out to the house again. After trying to fix the machine they realized they needed an additional part. I was advised it could take up to a couple more weeks for the part to arrive. I called AHS AGAIN and was told they are having system problems and they will have to call me back. I have never received a call back from AHS. I have never been updated from either AHS or the appliance vendor. And I still don't have a working washing machine. I am extremely unsatisfied and am going to cancel my insurance with American Home Shield and go to their competitor.

I bought a home in May and it came with AHS as a warranty. A couple months later, my freezer broke. First, they set me up with someone who didn't work on my freezer brand. Then it took 9 days to get the proper person out. Five weeks later, it's broken again and they're charging me another $75 service fee. (If the issue arises again after 30 days, you basically start over). When I asked to have this waived (clearly the issue is that it wasn't properly fixed the first time) the customer service rep just kept robotically reading from a script over and over. A terrible experience.

I like submitting my claims with American Home Shield on the phone. The customer service has been very good. But AHS needs to be more upfront in the overall information and put their exceptions to what activity is taking place on one of the first pages instead of at the back of the contract. When I had the water heater replaced because it was leaking, the cost was almost as much as what I was paying AHS in a year. They were paying for the water heater with all the add-ons, but I didn't read that in the contract.
However, I've had excellent service from the techs. All of them were very polite and informative. And overall, people have been very pleasant and professional. I had a contractor group that I was not pleased with. The people were good, but the work was not up to quality. When I lost a compressor coil on my unit upstairs in the attic, the two guys who came were very nice. They put the compressor coil in but piped something backward. I had to get a second group who redid the piping in short order so I was very pleased with their service.

The plumber had mentioned that the toilet that was placed there before was a slow-flow toilet. So that’s where the problems continue to happen. He just unplugged it, told me that and then left. He temporarily fixed it but not permanently. So it plugged up again. That’s why I submitted another ticket. It looks like the same vendor was supposed to come out. The toilet is flowing again but if anyone goes number two, we have a problem. I’m looking forward to the point where the issue doesn’t happen again.
The issue with the washer is the same thing. It happened three times then I had to pay for a plumber outside because American Home Shield couldn’t fix what was going on because it was not in the guidelines. If you look at that history, this can happen again. The vendor from AHS fixes the issue the first time then we won’t have the problem. But sometimes, when you put a temporary band-aid, although it’s good for six months, it’s still not fixed. Then the person who's paying the bills is getting upset because it’s another thing – the washer, the toilet, the washer, the toilet. It’s a tag team between the washer and the toilet.
I’m just funneling money when I could’ve paid for a plumber to fix the issue, not temporarily band-aid fix it. I’m paying monthly and per appointment. So if they're not fixing the problem, the warranty is not a good investment. The grace period is two to three months. But if it happens again then I have to pay again. It’s not right. It’s a manipulative vice.
One of the vendors that came to do the washer was so manipulative too. Basically, he was gonna charge me for work that the warranty didn’t cover. I told him to call AHS to make sure it was part of guidelines. Then I waited and waited. I asked him if he called and he said he was gonna. But when I called AHS, that vendor did not call and wanted to pocket the money. I had to get another vendor who could do it because I didn’t trust that vendor anymore. I like to go by guidelines and what is right. So when I’m calling AHS over and over and over for the same type of work then, of course, I’m not happy.
But the administrative part of AHS is good. I get a response and I get a vendor coming. I originally filed the toilet claim online and the initiation is quick but the process is slow. One time, I had to wait for a stopped up toilet for a week and I said I couldn't do that. I’ve got a mother that’s in hospice care, a special needs son and only one bathroom. So at one point in time, we were using my mother's portable toilet because I couldn’t get the vendor in. And that’s inhumane, especially nowadays.
I apologize for the delay in servicing your toilet Anna. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you as I will be following up until the issue is resolved. I look forward to assisting you.

Our electric bill doubled and then doubled again. We didn’t know at the time there was a problem with the AC, but we checked everything else. APS, our electric company, was coaching us through some things to check. After we checked the water heater and turned it off, we didn’t see a significant change. I was sitting at my kitchen table and happened to notice warm air was coming out of my vent. So, we went up and turned the unit completely off and there was still air blowing out. We knew then that the fan was staying on. We thought that was the major problem, which was when Efficient Air came out. The circuit board had fried and the fan switch was stuck on. Then, the heater strips were malfunctioning and causing our electric bills to go through the roof. So, the technician came out and disabled those heater strips and immediately, our electric bill dropped back down to where it was supposed to be.
We saw that it started July 28 and APS saw that the event happened between 5:00 and 6:00 PM, and then our usage went up from 1 to 2 kilowatts an hour to 12 kilowatts an hour. The technician said that those heater strips are for cold places in the country to keep the unit itself from freezing, so we don’t need them but because we have an all-in-one unit, they’re part of it. So, disabling it wasn’t gonna do any damage. Normally, unless they’re malfunctioning, they don’t make that big of a difference, but ours was malfunctioning, which was probably what also fried that motherboard, besides the fact that it was ancient.
The first group of guys who came out were so nice and they even asked for a broom to clean up after themselves. They explained everything, took pictures and showed it to me. I felt very comfortable with having them in my home and the work that they were doing. They were great. They were different from the guy who came out to replace the motherboard.

My real estate agent picked American Home Shield, but I was gonna pick them anyway because my sister bought a house about two years ago and they’ve been very happy with them. If they needed something fixed or something repaired, it was not a big deal. The deductible isn’t ridiculous, and it’s affordable. I recently needed my locks changed and the tech from Lang's Lock was here on time. The first time he did the locks, they weren’t working right, so he made me get all-new keys. To make sure that I knew that the ones that were destroyed did work but not well, he destroyed them in front of me so that I knew nobody else had keys. That was pretty cool. I called and asked how much the service was because I didn’t know about the lock change, and it was much cheaper to pay than to go to the store and buy a bunch of locks and keys.
