I’m a Realtor and I’ve heard some good things about American Home Shield over the years. I've been with them for eight months and there was no problem when I filed a claim with them. My case was assigned to Southwinds Electric and their guy came out the next day. He was was professional and fixed the problem quickly. That went well.

I had a very good experience with SJ Garage Door. They did what they're supposed to do and did a great job on it. It was the first time I ever had to call in and AHS explained to me exactly what I had to do and who was gonna come out. I got AHS because some of my friends had them. They said they had really good success with them, I'm very satisfied with them.

I have been with AHS for three years now and I have two accounts with them. They do a good job that's why I signed up with them. Recently, the garage door remote wasn’t operating properly. I called AHS because I never use the online situation with them. They usually email me back. Now, they call me and give the information over the phone, which is sometimes cumbersome ‘cause I’m busy and working my own job. I like the email system thing, but the repair is being made and they’re doing it within a reasonable amount of time, so no complaints. Ace’s Garage came out and did a good job. The guy, Ahman, was very knowledgeable and executed the request expeditiously and completely. He made some adjustments and got the system going. All parties were pleased.
Good afternoon Sherri,

Four years ago, the house was completely renovated and we have new electrical and plumbing. So, it's in good shape but still, it's 106 years old. Also, we're retired and we can't afford any major repairs, so we thought American Home Shield would soften the effect of any problems we might have. This policy is about a month. We had it previously and that expired but we renewed. When we had problems with both garage doors, I mentioned that when I called AHS but somehow that didn't get translated to the guy who came out. It was a little bit of a surprise to him but he was very courteous and happy to deal with both problems. One of them turned out to be a loose wire up in the rafters and the other one was a programming problem. Everything was fixed and it was not an easy solution, but the guy found it and I was 100% satisfied.
Good afternoon Kent,
Thanks for letting us know everything worked out great for you. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

Because it was my first time, I submitted the claim over the phone. I tried to do it online and it was too complicated. I’m very tech savvy. It’s just that Home Shield didn’t have the right points for that thing. It was too broad. And because it was my first time, I didn’t really know what I was doing. But following what was on the internet to try to do it, it wasn’t answering my question on what needed to be done.
It was 30 degrees in my house and I had just had surgery. The guy said he was coming the next day, he but never showed up. The second day, the K&W tech said, “I’ll be there after 6:00.” And then he didn’t come, so then the third day, I was like, “Look, you told me you were coming the same day. And now, we’re two days past that day.” And he was like, “My mistake — I thought you were somebody else.” I said, “Dude, be professional.” He ended up coming out on the fourth day and he came early in the morning. I had to call American Shield four times before, then they had to call him. He came, fixed it, but as soon as he left, it went right back out. It took him another day and a half to come back.
And then when he came back, he was still trying to troubleshoot. I had a zoning system in my house but the other thermostat was disconnected. He connected it back because it wasn’t like that. I didn’t have that problem last year when it was removed. But he ended up connecting the other thermostat. He was very unsatisfactory and was not being truthful as far as him coming over. And the fact that it was 30 degrees during that time, it was just not acceptable so I eventually got somebody else to come back out.
He replaced something in there and the pilot was staying lit. Then I kept noticing that the heat wouldn’t even come on. It’s set to 75 degrees but it’s 69 degrees in my house. Why is the heat not coming on? And so, I thought it was the thermostat. I kept asking him, and then he was like, “I’ll come over.” And then he just stopped responding.
I called Home Shield back and they tried to reach out to him, but he didn’t respond so they sent somebody else out. When that guy came out, he was like, “Look, your thermostat downstairs was fighting with your thermostat upstairs and that’s why the heat was not coming on when it was supposed to.” And then he realized that somebody connected the thermostat that's downstairs, so he told me just to keep that on off. He did something else in the attic. He said what he did, but he did something else and got the heat working again, and then he told me about the thermostat downstairs. And now, the thermostat is working fine. The issue has been resolved since the second guy came.

AHS's claim process has been easy. When the contractor came for my AC unit, he got right to the problem and fixed it within an hour, which was very good. I also felt very comfortable having him in my home. He represented the company. He had a name tag and showed me the company name. I've had AHS for at least 10 years and I've been happy with them. As a single older lady, I'm not able to take care of things myself. When things go wrong, I need to have some kind of protection and to have somebody to come and check on it for me.

For my plumbing issue, Kelly Plumbing came out and did the work. They realized they needed a part so they went and got it. I knew they were coming back quickly because they left their tools here. When they came back, they took care of the issue. I’m very happy with American Home Shield. I’ve had them for at least the last four houses. I kept them for the ease of doing business with them and their quickness. When you put a warranty claim in, you could set your clock to it. You get a phone call or a text message from the repair people before 24 hours and you set up a time.

I've been with American Home Shield for more than six years. Their service is good sometimes, but they are working with a horrible company for fixing the stuff. It was the company that came over for my air conditioner. They sent a man that was totally crazy and racist. He came to my house without permission and he didn't ask me what happened. After checking, he was gone on the roof and he said that there was no problem. But my heater is not working. I told him that it could be the thermostat, but he didn't do anything and he left us with the same problem. And I paid $75. He said if there is a problem, call the warranty company.
I'm a disabled person and I really need to be in a heater place, not cold place. So I called AHS and they said, "You need to pay another $75 for another company to come in and check the heater." I told them that the problem is the same. I don't wanna pay another $75 because I'm disabled, I don't have that much money. And the rep said, "It's okay. We will call the same company to come and check again." I told them that I don't want the same person because he was screaming at me. I had a small puppy that I was holding then, and I hugged her when he came in. But he said that my dog bit him. I looked at him and said that I was holding my dog. How can she bit him? I told them that I don't want to pay money to somebody and then not do anything and scream at me. They said, "Okay, we will contact the same company but we'll not send the same technician, we'll have them send another technician." I said, "Okay, that's good."
10 days after, when the company called me to make the appointment, I told them, "Please do not send the same person that came here last time." They said, "Okay, we are not sending the same person." But the same person came in. It was a cold and rainy afternoon so he has a hoodie on and I cannot recognize the face. I opened the door, he removed the scarf, and it was the same person. Again, without permission, he came in with his dirty shoes and went inside my room. I looked at him and said, "Why did you come my house without permission. And I told your company not to send you." And he was screaming at me again and got close the thermostat. He took off the thermostat from the wall and said screaming, "Okay, I will change this one and please do not bother me and do not call me again."
I told him it was not appropriate to scream at me in my home. And he came towards me and I told him, "Do not come close to me. If you come, you must go out from my house. If you're not going out and you keep screaming at me, I will call 911 because I feel uncomfortable." He went out screaming and said, "Oh, do not bother me. Do not call me." And I told him, "I have a camera inside and outside my house. If you come back and speak again with your loud voice, I'll call 911." Then he left. I was crying and shaking when I called the company. I asked them why they sent the same person when I told them in the morning not to send him. They said, "We don't have anybody else." And that he was the only one available. I said, "Just him? So 10 days I was living in the cold place. You could've told me, 'We don't have anybody available. How about tomorrow?' If something happened to me, what are you guys gonna do?" And they just hung up.
I called them again and asked why they hang up on me. I think they called AHS because they were afraid as I've been screaming and I told them I would call 911 because I have a camera recording everything. They told me to call AHS. I did and I told them everything. They said, "We are so sorry. We called another company to come in for the second opinion." So the next day, another company came in. The tech asked permission to come in, asked what the problem was and he listened. He checked the thermostat and he said it wasn't that. He then went in to the roof and after half an hour, he came back and said, "I found the problem and I fixed it." My heater is now working. I'm really mad about the very first company. But the guy from the second company was really good. I'm happy with him.

The guy from Cactus Garage Doors wasn’t very talkative, but he did a good job. He changed the wheel and the garage door started opening. I also asked him to check this thing that you click on your garage inside on the wall to open up the garage door. He said, “There's nothing wrong with that. I already fixed what was wrong.” And every time I press it now, every once in a while, it sticks. I kinda go hunting around. I wanna get somebody out to recheck that. I also had a guy from another company come out and he fixed my kitchen light switch. He was a very nice man. I've had American Home Shield for years. It pays for itself. If something goes wrong, I can call them up and I have to pay the $75 copay, and they fix what has to be done.

I submit claims with American Home Shield online. It seems to work. But I’ve also called. World Class AC came out when I had an issue with my air conditioner not working. They came out within a couple of days. It was within reasonable amount of time. And the contractor did a great job. Everything’s working since then. But we did call them. We have him coming back tomorrow. He fixed the system and the fan wasn’t blowing well. And it’s been that way. We’ve only moved into the house a few months ago and the air-conditioning was never really working well. He got it going and it’s blowing very well. But now, it seemed to be getting dirt, dust, particles, and stuff coming out of the duct work whenever it starts flowing. So I think the duct work might be falling apart.
I struggle with AHS in the fact that I pay $75 every time a person comes out. And there was one situation where I asked the person, “Is this gonna be covered? I don’t wanna waste $75 if it’s not covered.” “Oh, it’s electrical. It’d be covered.” He couldn’t get my credit card fast now to charge the $75. And when the electrician guy came out, he said, “This isn’t gonna be covered. It’s not gonna be covered.” I said, “I asked the guy and he said, ‘It's electrical. It would be covered.’ If the guy said, ‘No, it wouldn’t be covered,’ I wouldn’t have wasted the $75.” I was a little perturbed about that. I actually called up and complained and they said, “Oh, well, we’ll put the complaint through or whatever.” I never heard anything back about it.
Also, I had a water heater leak. The guy came out and instead of it being free, it was gonna be $500. And that was because he had to add a little more plumbing and had to put something else in. I’m like, “No. I don’t even want you to do it. I’ll do it.” So I sent him on his way. And I paid AHS their $75, and I didn’t have him do it. I’m a reasonably handy person. I can do some things myself. But everyone has their limitations and air-conditioning isn’t one of my thing. So I don’t mind having an air-conditioning guy come and pay him. This is the second time that we had the air-conditioning problem. We bought the house originally in April, but we didn’t really move in until end of September. And when we first moved in in April, the air-conditioning died. I called AHS and they came out. And it was some sort of a broken wire situation there.
The air-conditioning worked poorly all summer though. The house wasn’t super cold. And I just thought it was an older, lousy air-conditioning unit. Finally, the thing stopped working completely. We had a bit of a heat spell in November, and the AC flat-out wasn’t coming on. It would try to turn on, but the inside blower thing wouldn’t work. So then that’s when we called AHS again. They sent a different company this time and he found all kinds of things wrong with it that probably were there when the first guy came, but he didn’t figure it out. And so, I’m much happier with the second guy. He got it running so well that the thing blows nice, cold, and strong.

I have an HVAC out and they sent two separate companies out to fix. Both companies were incompetent and did nothing. So they said for me to find someone to fix. I did then they said it was too expensive. Now 5 months into this ordeal I do not know what to do. I’ve called at least 50 times since September. Still no heat. I will never buy a warranty from them again. Ken **, Greenwood MS.

I called American Home Shield when I had an electrical issue. I plugged in an air conditioner into the wall and it shorted out my electricity. Half of my house didn’t have electricity. I had someone come out, and they charged me the deductible but they never fixed the problem. I called them, and I never got a response back. I’m dissatisfied about that. The guy who came out wanted to charge $1,800 to fix the problem, and I was not happy with that at all.
I spoke to numerous people at American Home Shield, and at the beginning, they didn’t even tell that it was denied. All they said was it was in the process. And then weeks down the road, I found out from someone that it wasn’t covered on my contract, which I didn’t understand why, if it was all part of the whole thing. I started going through the fine print of the policy itself and then I found some part where it said that they might not do power surges. But that was not what I was told when I first got the policy. So I was very disappointed.
I also called American Home Shield when I needed rekeying, and I had some reservations about calling the locksmith out. But the locksmith was great. He did a good job, and he did it pretty fast. But the electrical claim was never fixed and I never got calls back. They didn’t even follow up by calling me back. I went the entire summer without having power in half of my house, which meant I didn’t have an air conditioner in there. So it was not a good feeling. I ended up having to contract somebody else to fix it. So I’m not so sure that I would renew with them. I'm thinking about switching to a different company when the policy is over.
I apologize for the inconvenience. My name is Stacy & I've just sent you an email to obtain more information about your experience & assist with unresolved issues. I look forward to speaking with you.

Horrible service and lack of competency. I originally submitted my work order for an electrical issue with my garage light in October 2019. The contractor provided me detailed notes as to when they submitted the diagnosis to AHS in October, November, and December 2019. Yet, every time I call AHS no one has any notes and they blame the contractor for not submitting the diagnosis. The light needs to be converted because the part is no longer available and it seems AHS gives you the run around to avoid paying to fix the issue. I recently submitted another order because my AC stopped working. Same thing. I have had to call every day this week and they say the AC company did not submit the diagnosis.
I made them call the AC repair company right then to obtain the diagnosis and a part is needed. No one knows when the part will come in to fix my AC. It’s been over a week now since I submitted this request. I live in Florida and you can’t leave your home without circulating air. I asked to speak to a supervisor yesterday, the guy from a very obvious foreign country put me on hold for over 30 minutes to come back and say his supervisor is “very busy” and can’t talk to me. This company is a waste of time and money.

The claim with Home Shield for the dishwasher was fine. I know I’m dealing with an insurance company and they’re notoriously backward and slow. The tech had to come out here, evaluate it, report it, and wait for them to come back and say, “Okay. It’s all right to do.” It slows everything up. The guy was very nice. He explained that he had to wait for his approval. Then, he came out and took care of the issue and everything was fine. But if we have something that we really need to take care of, something that is really broken, then we have to wait through that process. It takes a lot of time and it's very awkward. The time lapse between start to finish is crap and ridiculous. They could speed up the time between notification and completion.
Also, they’re using offshore people and they only take messages. We had one instance with the heating system. The guy came out and evaluated it and said, “Okay. I gotta go through that process.” They asked for a second opinion and I got another call unbeknownst to me from another guy and said he was coming out to work on my problem. I asked who he was and he had to explain it. And he said he was coming out to check my ductwork and I said there was no problem with my ductwork. That wasn’t the issue at all. They’re using offshore people that are not well-trained because that’s not what they can do. They can’t go offshore and train these people. They have to ask somebody else to try and train them and they’re very untrained. That bothers me a lot. They should get their act together. It costs money.
Then, when they fixed the heating and air system, they were only paying $10 on adding Freon. Freon has come a long way through the EPA and it’s at approximately $80 to $100 per gallon and they were giving 10. When I raised such a stink with them about the heating and air system, switching contractors on me, the time it was taking, and the weather’s getting cold and I have no heat, they agreed. They said they would take care of everything. I was out there when they were adding Freon. The system takes eight gallons and they added five. Home Shield paid for it.
Another issue is that we have a claim for a clothes washer. You close the door, you hit on, you hear a snap, and it locks the door. It just sits there. 20 seconds later, you hear a snap and the door opens. It comes up, door unlocked, you wait another 20 seconds and it snaps again, door locked. It goes through the process. To me, that means there’s something wrong. If you let it go, it’s not gonna heal itself. Home Shield charged our card for the $75 required and we haven’t heard a word from them. That’s another thing they need to straighten out. They shouldn’t charge my credit card until that person comes on the property. Don’t charge my credit card and sit on it.
I complained to our Realtor who bought us the policy. I called my Realtor and told him he needs to be looking at somebody else. I’ve pointed out a lot of things but they won’t come to us and say, “Well, let’s sit down. Come on, drive into Vancouver, where we have an office there,” or, “We’ll sit down with your company rep and tell us how we can better improve and we’ll take it to heart and do it."
Richard,
I apologize that your experience with us was not satisfactory. Thank you for speaking with me in an attempt to reach a resolution.

Rapid Appliance Care came out for my refrigerator. I also have a claim for my oven and it’s still pending. I've been trying to find an oven. They quoted me a price and I have to be in that range. I found one, but it’s always higher than what AHS quoted me that I can use. I don’t know what else to do. I can’t cook for over a year on my oven. So, it’s kinda hard. My claim has been out there going on two years.
Since I had my house, I've been with American Home Shield. I moved in my house in ’05. It’s pretty decent. For the oven part of it, I guess they want me to do the legwork and it’s hard for me to do it. I’m off on Wednesdays, and that’s the only day I try to go into the stores. I feel like they know what I need with my oven concern and they can go out and get that themselves instead of me doing the legwork. I have to measure it, then if I make the wrong measurement, then I'm responsible for paying it. So, I gotta be really careful about that as well. The contractors are fine. Everything gets done when they come out, but then when they have to go on top of the roof, you got to pay more money for some crazy reason. I understand that’s what they gotta do. Homeowner warranty does not cover the one on top of the roof if there's a stoppage.

Unfortunately, we've had to use American Home Shield a lot. The first time I submitted a claim, it was a nightmare. I probably called off-hours. American Home Shield outsourced everything to India, so the plumber they called couldn’t understand them and hung up on them. I called them the next day and the plumber said they didn't get that ‘cause he couldn’t understand what they were saying. It was not good. The front-end process is a little sticky ‘cause of how they outsourced their customer service. But after that, everything went fine. I called at regular hours and every subsequent claim went fine. AHS have sent good people out here. They really are straight up, and I've been impressed with everyone that has come in the door. Secure Home Locksmith & Safety came out and did what they were supposed to do and they were good.
Good afternoon Walter,
Thanks for letting us know everything worked out great for you. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

I'm a widow and my mother who lives with me is a widow too. There are some things that we can't do and fix ourselves. I tried to fix the garage door myself and most springs had messed up so there was nothing I could do. Home Shield sent Flash Garage Door Services and they did a wonderful job. The tech was here on time. He called to let me know he was coming and he got here in plenty of time. He worked really fast and it didn't take him long to fix it.
The other time, my oven went kapooey. It locked on itself when I was cooking cornbread for Thanksgiving a couple years ago and it wouldn't turn off. It went to the clean cycle so it ruined my oven. I have a son and son-in-law that come by and do some stuff but this I knew they couldn't do so I went ahead and called Home Shield. They replaced it with one just like it so that was good. They took it right out of my checking account and it worked out real well.

AHS provides a security blanket for me and my family if something could go wrong with the house. I’ve had minor things with the dishwasher, the dryer and air conditioners. I had a major thing where my entire heater had to be replaced. And so, it’s peace of mind for me. Recently, my dryer wasn't working. I had a heating element that went out. I submitted a claim online to AHS and the website was fairly intuitive. Everything worked well once I made my claim and they told me who my contractor was gonna be. My problems had been after that.
The response time of Hinco, the contractor, was poor, and so I had to turn around and call American Home Shield back. And then, after I called them back, I got a follow-up telephone call from Hinco in a matter of moments. They said they could come out tomorrow. I said, "Tomorrow doesn't work for me. It needs to be the following week." They asked me if I had a preferred date. I said I didn't. I was gonna be on vacation both of those days. They said they'd call me back on Monday. But they never called me back.
I called them again and I left a message and then they turned around and called me, and then it happened. But it took from the time of my response to them until I ended getting an appointment was excessive. It was well over a week. But the guy that they sent out was absolutely great. He told me everything that was going on and what he thought the problem was. He thought he was gonna be able to fix it in just a few minutes and he did.

This is my second year with American Home Shield and I like it. It's very easy. There's a lot of the online availability to file a claim and get that started, and have the contractors text me and say, “We have something open on Thursday, does that work for you?” So, it’s convenient. RM Appliance Masters recently came out and they were great. I had no problems with them. They were very considerate and they communicated very well, what time they were gonna be there. And while they were at the home repairing the refrigerator and trying to repair the countertop ice maker, they were very encouraging with my kids, which were asking questions. Strangers need to make themselves at home, which was totally appropriate. We really liked him. We’ll keep using them specifically if the next thing happens.

I had my air conditioning system installed in May of 2016 and it’s been nothing but a nightmare after the first year or so. I got American Home Shield for a couple of years now, and I’m so glad that I do. When they installed the AC unit, they put a Wi-Fi thermostat with it. In December of last year, the Wi-Fi kept going out. It wouldn’t stay connected. Ultimately, it turned out that the Wi-Fi thermostat had blown a fuse. Ace Heating & Cooling came out and fixed that. Then, it still kept whacking out so they kept coming out, which all originated with the Wi-Fi thermostat, which has been replaced by the thermostat company. Then, apparently, this thermostat blew out a transformer and they fixed that as well. They said it should be good to go now. They traced all the wiring so I’ve been very pleased with Ace. They're not my AC company, but I recommend them to other people.
In general, I’m very pleased that I have American Home Shield because I’d be still sitting at a sauna house, freezing at night. I had only one hiccup with them. I just wanted to change the day my bill was due, and I had to go back and forth with them for a couple of months over that. I almost quit them and went to another company but I thought that it was a stupid reason to leave. When on a limited budget, you need to know when you can pay them when and I wanted that bill to be in at a certain time and not at the time that they had it coming in to automatically take it out of my checking account. But that was more of bookkeeping, clerical issue rather than a service issue. I imagine that this is probably standard with warranty companies. But I finally got what I needed from them.
When Ace came out the first time with an apparently blown fuse, not knowing that it was gonna whack out again ‘cause it blew another fuse too, that was another thing it did. Until the thing was actually closed to satisfaction, it has a 60-day timeframe under which if the same thing keeps happening or anything related to it, they still come out until it is repaired or replaced. I was very happy with that as well ‘cause they’ve been out four times on this one thing and I wasn’t paying my $100 deductible every time.

We’ve lost our air conditioner in the summer and now we’ve lost our heater in the winter, yet American Home Shield is just putting parts in it. I was under the impression that if something went bad, they would replace it, but that hasn’t happened. I don’t want to go through this again in the summer or next winter. This is not necessarily what we planned on when we paid almost $1,000 for the year of it. I had to take my mom to a hotel in the summer. And then this winter, we had to sleep with space heaters going, which I know was not safe and I don’t think that was good. If we go through the summer and the sucker goes out, I'm gonna be very disappointed. Also, it took the contractor a week to get the heater part in, and we didn’t like that. Other than that, they came right out and put it in. We only had to spend one night in a hotel in the summer, and we were able to scrape up some heaters for this last deal and we stayed in our home. That wasn’t too bad.

They broke a piece and I heard them yelling from one ceiling to the other saying that it’s gonna be a trip to Lowe’s, so they were great. I actually regretted that I didn’t get a business card from them ‘cause the two gentlemen were very commendable. I would absolutely call them again. Overall, a very good experience. Our toilet in the master bathroom was leaking and it wouldn't stop. There was a part in there that wouldn't rise back up. It wouldn't refill in the tank at all. The water just kept it running and running. It was horrible. I filed a claim and American Home Shield sent A&B out. They were excellent. The service guy was prompt and very professional. He fixed the problem 100%. He replaced some parts. He didn't leave until he was 100% sure everything was going good. He also fixed something on the sink too because the water kept dripping.
We've only been with American Home Shield for not even a full year, and they've been prompt and right on top of it. We had a warranty originally when we bought this house, and we had a really bad experience. We shied away from all home warranties. And then one day, we heard from our neighbors that they had some problems with their place. They've been there a long time and they went with American Home Shield, and they said it was really good. They've had no problems. So, we went there too, and we've had no problems.

The first contractor who came regarding my heating said something was wired incorrectly and attached something, but then Bauer sent their people out and said the air wasn't responding like it should. Comfort came out again and the second guy replaced the board and the sensors. He got it taken care of but I would have thought that was taken care on the first round. The last guy was great and the first one was very nice though. Also, it was within seven days so I didn't have to pay another fee.
When the compressor acted up in July, instead of fixing the leak in the compressor, they just put in stuff, which didn't fix the problem. They just band-aid it. And I was told that that was what they were told to do by AHS, which was not really impressive. We've been with AHS for forever. Things were covered, but every time we renew, all of a sudden, certain things were removed, like the garage door. When we first got them, they fixed anything that was wrong. The last time they came out, it cost me $300. When we moved to the new townhome, I'm not certain we're gonna even take a contract out with American Home Shield.

American Home Shield sent out Bell Cow and we ended up putting in a new heat pump. They gave us wonderful service. Not only were they professional, but they answered all questions. Any concerns that I had, they took time to answer that before they did whatever they needed to do. When they came into the actual house to install a new register for us to regulate the heat, they did a really good job with explaining that to me. And they actually had me do a demonstration that I could follow through. We have a second heat pump upstairs and if it would ever go back out again, I'm hoping that American Home Shield would send Bell Cow back again.

It took AJ Appliance Repair a couple days to come out, but it was fine. The person that they sent out was very good in figuring out what was wrong with the oven. So, that was the only problem. They weren’t able to fix the problem, so I had no oven. And they knew I needed it before and they promised they were gonna do it before, but then I went home. I just had to cut my turkey up in two pieces and did it in a toaster oven.
Also, American Home Shield needs to keep their appointment as promised. My appointment was cancelled when it shouldn't have been cancelled. It was moved, and then they couldn't get someone out until after the holidays when they said they were gonna get someone else during the holidays. But it’s really easy to get things done with American Home Shield, whom I've been with for over 10 years, and I like it. Submitting a claim is also very simple. I just call. They come out and they fix it. I pay $75. And then if I have to pay for parts, I just pay for parts. Otherwise, they cover everything.

Blue Water Plumbing is amazing. I’ve recommended them to other people. The contractor was prompt, courteous, and had great communication. He even followed up afterward to make sure everything was okay. He was fabulous. He communicated a great time for the appointment. He showed up when he was supposed to. He did the job efficiently. He was clean and couldn’t have been better. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.
It was my second claim, and I’ve had another company here since which has been a horrible experience. Somebody needs to put them out of business because they are truly horrible. AHS hasn’t been able to get any resolution with my dryer. It broke down on January 2nd. I called them. They had somebody come out on the 3rd. They needed to order a part, which is understandable, even though I had given them the code, which if you look on the manual says what part it needs. They ordered the part. Someone finally came back yesterday to finish the repair. It was 4 o’clock in the afternoon after I’ve waited on the window of 8:00 to 5:00.
There was no communication as far as the window. I get that every job can take longer here and there, but the morning of, they ought to be able to give you some kind of an idea. Additionally, they had ordered the wrong part. The girl got on the phone with her manager, Rochelle. Rochelle said she was gonna source the part locally, and they would definitely be back today to finish the repair. But today, I found out that they don’t plan on coming back until Friday. I haven’t been able to use my dryer since January 2nd.
They tell you they’re gonna do something, and then they don’t do it, and they order parts and the wrong parts arrive. You ask for a supervisor and you can’t get one. I’ve tried to reach Rochelle, and they tell me that she doesn’t exist. She existed yesterday when my tech called her. So, I’m sure she does exist. They say there’s nothing they can do. There really ought to be something they can do because at this point, my renewal for American Home Shield’s the end of this month, and I really don’t know if I’m gonna renew or not. I've missed countless hours of work. I’ve tried to contact AHS and I’ve gotten nowhere. It was like, “We’ve done everything we can do.” I said, "Well, you haven’t done everything you can do because I don’t have a dryer." It’s not acceptable. Also, AHS doesn’t give you an option. They just say, “We’re sending somebody out.” They don’t say you can have A, B, and C.

I've got a house in Washington State, and there's a problem with the heat not coming on. This company I bought the unit from put it in. But now they don't have the part for their own equipment. There's no way I would ever have them come back. They're flying by the seat of their pants. But AHS sent a guy and it took him an hour and a half to diagnose. Then he said he's gonna come back in tomorrow to order the part. AHS has been great so far. I'm gonna keep them forever.

I've been without a freezer for over three weeks now. The contractor is due to come out not until February 2nd, so that'll be at least a month. So I'm not pleased. I have an LG freezer and it's a one unit compressor. The first people that Home Shield sent out said they don't work on LGs. The only person that works on LGs in our area is Sears. We've had Sears come out through Home Shield in the years past and they have very poor service, and they take forever. The same thing happened again with this claim. They set a date, but the man never showed up. But the tech did call and said that it was too late at that time and he would set it for another week. I told him that we've already been out of a freezer for two weeks now. He said that they lost 25 guys and that all he can do is next week. He asked us what we needed. We said the compressor for the LG freezer, and he said that he has one on his truck.
The tech showed up at the appointment the next week and said that somebody must've used the compressor and now, he doesn't have one. He said he had to order it and set an appointment for February 2nd. So that'll be a month I've been without a freezer. He ordered the compressor yesterday, and it arrived to our house by UPS. This is a typical experience with Sears. Home Shield usually takes care of my problem. It's when they have to subsidize it to somebody else is the problem.
Home Shield should send out somebody besides Sears. They can also process the claim in a timely manner. I don't think somebody should go without their appliance for a whole family for a month. The tech called Home Shield and he said this appliance has already been worked on before and asked if they would like to replace the appliance instead of waiting the next two weeks. And Home Shield took the cheaper option, so they told the tech to order the part. When somebody is going without an appliance for that long or you can't get a part, replacing it should be the right option to do the customer right.
I apologize for the inconvenience. My name is Stacy and I will contact you to make sure your issue is resolved.

We got a bunch of old appliances and we didn't really want to worry about having to replace something very expensive on the spot. I did a research online and AHS seemed like a good business, so we decided to work with them. We have them for three years now and recently, we submitted a claim when the furnace wasn't turning on. The blower was running but there was no heat coming out of it. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota and that wasn't an option, so I went through the website of AHS and made a ticket. It was a good website and they contacted me when they found somebody to do the work. It was really quick. Then, a tech from Majestic Custom Heating and Air Conditioning came out. He was great, very friendly, and knew what he was doing. It turned out that the pilot igniter had gone bad and it's a little piece that essentially tells whether or not the heat is on. He came in and fixed it very quickly.

The downstairs bathroom was flooding as there was a clog in the line somewhere in our septic system. We needed assistance so I called American Home Shield and they found 2 different people that were local. One company wasn’t gonna be able to come out until the following day but we needed to have it done that day. We wouldn’t have been able to use any of our water 'cause each time we turn on the faucet, it flooded. It came back to our downstairs bathroom. So, I called back Home Shield and they found another company, Proline, who were able to come out that late evening. We had no issues with the contractors and they stayed in contact with us. They let us know what time they were gonna be here approximately and they were here within about 15 minutes of when they said they were gonna be. They cleared the line and that was a good experience.
American Home Shield covered the initial cleanout of the septic system, but it cost $100 for the contractors to come out and clear the lines. Then, we had to have the septic pumped, which we had to pay for $500. It was because there is a riser that goes up and it wasn’t high enough. The previous owners had buried it and we weren’t able to find it. If we had known where that was, then we could’ve unclogged it ourselves. So, it cost us a few hundred dollars for that riser to be extended up, and they also put an alarm. In the end, while we were able to use our septic system, it cost us $1,000 in addition to fix the problem.
American Home Shield did what they said they were gonna do and they followed through. They took care of what immediately needed to be done, and it just happened to be that there was another problem and another problem. All of that has been resolved, but unfortunately, American Shield didn’t cover the whole thing and carried only the immediate problem. Still, the problem was resolved that day, which was great. A major issue was taken care of in a timely manner.

This is the second time we got a problem with our air conditioner. The first time the guy AHS sent didn’t show up until 3 o’clock in the morning. But this guy from Total Air Care was really good, very professional and responds in a timely manner. He recommended some stuff and it fixed the problem. It just seems that everything breaks on the weekend or on a holiday, so it's hard to get responses.
We also have another ongoing issue with plumbing that happened on December 23rd. The plumber came out and then we haven’t heard from him. And the job is not finished. So that’s a little frustrating. We just moved into a 12-year old house that is starting to fall apart. AHS hasn't been quick with their responses as we would appreciate or that we would like. We had a heating and cooling system go down one time and when it couldn't be fixed, they replaced it. They also gave us the option to upgrade, which we did. I would have been saddled with almost $15,000 worth of repairs. Instead, my out-of-pocket was $2,500 and that's only because I decided to upgrade the system at the time.

I thought I also had roof protection and found that I don’t. But I was pleased with the way the whole thing went when I made a claim and one thing I appreciated was not having to go through a bottle of phone menus. I was given a person, which was huge. I’m so fed up with menus although I understand the need for them. Also, I appreciate how quick the response was. The plumber said he would be here the next morning. I don’t know if it was an agreement that they have with AHS or if it was just the way this company does business. Either way, the plumbing company was fantastic. But it turned out to be the furnace, so the furnace company came out and took care of it. It was all very quick and well-done.

I just take time off for work and wait. He texted me, and I told him to ring the bell and he followed the instructions. He diagnosed the issue and fixed it. It's a really, really good company. I got their card for some other things too, whenever I need some kind of a little issue with my plumbing. I was really very satisfied.
I like American Home Shield because they have more than one third party. They've been working with different people. We were losing our hot water in our hot water heater. We couldn’t take two showers or a shower back-to-back. We couldn’t wash clothes at the same time with the shower. It came to the point where we couldn’t function very well. We messed with it for a couple of weeks, and we tried to say, “Don’t try to wash at the same time.” But it just kept getting worse and we realized that something was really wrong.
My experience with American Home Shield was very good. The process through the website was user-friendly. We just didn’t know who we'd get to come take a look at it, but the ones who came were extremely professional. The guy from R & H Plumbing Service knew what he was doing, diagnosed it very quickly, and then gave us the options of what we could possibly do. They ended up replacing it and then we added another thing that he had to call and get that approved. It was a regular 40-gallon tank, and half of it was gone and the other half was on its way out. So, he was able to add something that would make it the same as if the tank was a little beyond 40 and would actually hold more. We were very happy with that process. It cost us more to do the additional thing, but it was well worth it because we now have a better situation.
The contractor did it fast. He came about 11 o’clock and he was out about 3:00, then it was done. He saw what kind it was and then called for whoever it was to bring the heater out. He was unhooking everything while the other guy was on his way and he drove up. And by the time he drove up, he had the other one unhooked, ready to go out, and they rolled the other one in and he started hooking it up. He was there three to four hours. We were very pleased with the entire process. It worked very well. We had AHS when we bought our home down there and then we decided we would extend it because it was a bit of an older home and everything looked like it was gonna be fine, but we ended up using AHS a couple of times since we’ve been there. The process has been good and the people that they have sent have been quality people, very professional and have done very good work.

I went online to American Home Shield and requested someone to come out and take a look at our furnace because it wasn't turning on. No heat was blowing in the house. The company that came out said it was fine and there was nothing wrong with it. They left after briefly looking at it for 15 minutes but it still wasn't on. After that, I called AHS instead of doing it online. The rep said that she would have 7 Cities contact me within 24 hours. When I had an email with 7 Cities' information on it, I contacted them and asked if they were sending anyone out to take a look at the furnace. I got same-day services when I called. They came and they found that I needed to have it turned off because it could've blown. It was some problem on our side. They had to repair some rusted pipes down in the furnace and they also needed to order parts for that.
The first company didn’t go in to look at it like 7 Cities did. They didn’t actually take the panels apart and look all the way in there. 7 Cities actually looked all through the pipes. They have replaced it for me and since they fixed it, everything's been great. During that break in between the first company and 7 Cities, I had to use plug-in heaters. But now, it's perfect and I don't have to use any additional heating in the house.
The first company was very dissatisfying and I had to pay the consultant for 15 minutes of their time to tell me everything's fine. But we're very satisfied with our experience the second time around. I had to pay the fee the second time but it was worth it. The tech actually walked me through, showed me what was wrong and had me look at the pipes with him.

And because my microwave is over the top of my stove, it's encased between my two cabinets, so I had to have somebody to come out and remove it. And they sent another technician out, TJ, to do the repairs after I've done that. The part from the first technician that came out was already ordered so he didn't need to order it. American Home Shield assigned my plumbing claim to a provider. But it was over a holiday weekend and I kept getting a recorded message. So, I had to push back a bit and make a couple of calls with American Home Shield to get them to reassign my claim to United Air Temp who have done quite a bit of work in my place previously. I was familiar with them and they came out right away. They fixed it, so their work was great. American Home Shield is resistant sometimes to being flexible but I was going out of town at the time and I had to get it fixed before I went out of town.
I’ve also had a water heater die on me and that was replaced. AHS contributed a nominal amount for that. Then I had to replace my AC unit, which they didn’t contribute anything towards. Their policies are pretty stringent and they find a way to not cover the bigger expenses or anything of significance. But they’re fine for the one-off minor plumbing issues and electrical. I would love to see them cover more significant breakages and issues, not just the smaller items. AHS has a good online interface, too. I’m able to ask for service online without having to necessarily talk to a representative and most of the time, that’s sufficient. Plus, most of the providers that they work for, including the electricians and plumbers, provide good quality work. I’ve worked with a few of them in particular and have been really happy. So, their service is relatively responsive.
Other than that, I’ve been a customer of AHS for some years now. They’ve raised my annual fee a couple of times and I would like to see my annual cost with them to stay the same over the next few years, rather than increasing annually. And right now, I’m paying $68 a month which is relatively affordable for the overall service that they provide and the savings. Also, their service fee has gone up to $75 and maybe that’s what they could get the providers to agree to because most plumbers won’t come out for anything less than 100 or 150. So, there's still savings there.

A realtor recommendation led us to sign up with AHS and we have them for 15 years now. I would recommend them. Recently, we had an issue in an upstairs bathroom where the hot water in the shower didn’t work. We submitted a claim with AHS and they told us to expect a tech within 24 to 48 hours. Then, someone from Sirius Plumbing and Air Conditioning came out and fixed the problem. We’ve also had good experiences with the contractors that AHS sent out so far and we were very satisfied with their work.
Good Morning Susan,

A friend of mine at work uses American Home Shield. He told me that he was very pleased with how quickly they attended to his needs so he went with them. And I said, “I’ll try them too.” And I've been with them since before Christmas. I filed a claim to them and the experience was great. The tech from World Class AC that came out was wonderful and punctual. We spoke and I told him my work schedule, and he was right there. He was super fast. He pinpointed the problem immediately and fixed it in record time. I’m very happy.

When we turned the heat on, there was some noise. Apparently, the motor had gone bad. The folks AHS out was absolutely fantastic. They were probably the best subcontractor out there since I’ve had my contract with AHS. They did a wonderful job, which hasn’t always been the case. I’m still working on some things with the dishwasher. I’ve also been dealing with them on my AC unit for about a year or so. I’ve had several folks who’ve come out a number of times.
The first one who came out said it needed some fluid put in it. They put fluid in it and then three months later, the fluid went out. The same company came back out and took the coil back to their company, sorted it together and brought it back. The contract says repair or replace and they did that, but it didn’t work. It was still leaking. I had to call out another contractor and pay an additional $75, which AHD charged. Another guy came out and finally said the coil needed to be replaced. I called AHS back and said that the coil needed to be replaced. I asked them how they wanna work with that and how much they are giving us to replace the coil.
AHS told me that they were only gonna give $200 towards the coil, which costs more than that. I don’t know why I should have to pay $600 for the coil. It should be on the warranty. They told me that that was what they can get it for. They’re not the ones who are buying and if they wanna buy and give it to me, that’s great. I’ll pay them the $200.
Other than that, AHS has been okay for the most part since I’ve had them. And for the most part, I’m satisfied with them, which is why I stay with them. But there should be a standard across the board. If they send a contractor out to my house and he identifies the part that needs to be replaced, then you shouldn’t be giving me a portion to replace it. If I’ve gotta go out now and buy a coil for my AC and it costs me more than what you are willing to give me, something is wrong with that. My contract said, “Replace and repair.” If a subcontractor comes to my house and the item needs to replace, they should say so and not prolong the situation. Also, I’ve had a number of contractors tell me that when they recommend something to be replaced, they get graded differently.
Good morning Bert,
Your concerns re understood regarding your most recent AHS service request to have the air conditioner repaired. I would be glad to speak with you and assist to get the issue resolved.

A couple of weeks back, I had a prior issue with the heater, and a guy came and changed the switch on it. But after that, the furnace was making a lot of sound. I was still seeing this noise after the last claim on it, so I submitted another claim online to American Home Shield and they said there was another follow-up person because it was within the 30 days. Today, a technician came and he said there was some block in the water pipe that was going to the sump. So, that was making the noise. He cleaned it up and he fixed it. The tech who came was good.

One time, I wasn't getting any air or heat. The system kept shutting off and I couldn't get it on again. Periodically it would run for an hour or so and that was it. I paid three times for AHS' contractor to come out. Finally, I had techs who showed me how to work my system. They went on the roof and told me that there were two capacitors that needed replacing. They changed those and my system has worked ever since.
Last December, our washer was not spinning and draining properly. I put three towels in the washer and it ran through. It spun and everything was fine. If I put a heavier thing, it leaves water in the articles. When I run it, the washer keeps saying "Sensing, sensing, sensing" and it stays at 21 minutes. I called American Home Shield for a claim and the guy who came the first time said that he needed to change the pump. I waited two or three weeks and he came back and put the pump in. He ran the washer supposedly that time but it was empty and I don't know how one would run an empty washer to drain. He also said he was not gonna take a picture of the situation because AHS wouldn't approve.
The second time he came out, the washer was not working again. He ran the washer empty again and showed me a picture that had all kinds of stuff in it. He said the drain was clogged with all those things and with coins. He neither showed me the stuff nor the coins and did not carry anything out of the house other than the tool kit that he brought in.
I asked the tech how the items got through the tiny holes in the washer and he told me that there were two tubs there. I asked how the items got into the second tub and he couldn't explain that. Also, the 6-inch-wide rubber tubing around that seals the tub and the doorknob is always full of water. The washer on the hand only has a little bit of water. The tech said that was normal. I told him that I've had one of these washers for 10 years before I moved and it worked perfectly. Never was there any water in the rubber gasket.
Supposedly, he changed the pump and all the hoses around the machine before but when he came out the second time, he said it was still clogged. I have never missed one article of clothing. I haven't put anything heavy in the washer. I never put money in my pocket. So, I don’t know how those items got in there. The tech showed the picture to his company who then sent it to AHS. I heard from no one for two weeks. I called AHS a couple of times and yesterday they told me that the repair wasn't authorized because the problem was not caused by normal wear and tear. So now, I'm paying another $75 in order to get someone else come out to look at my washer and it's still not fixed.
I also told the rep that I was paying over $1000 and my contract just renewed on the 28th of December last year. I told him I wanna cancel it 'cause it's not worth the piece of paper it's written on. The rep said that he was sorry to hear that and that they would send another person out. My daughter has this warranty too and I’m gonna have her cancel it ‘cause she had the same problem.

American Home Shield came with the house when I bought it. I've been with them for a year and a half, and I found that they are pretty excellent. I contact them via phone when I have a claim although I prefer doing the online process. I also haven’t had any problem with any of the technicians who have come out. They have all done the prescribed work and have gone beyond the expectations to see that I was satisfied with the work. When I had an issue with my AC, they sent out Affordable Comfort. Original Review: Jan. 9, 2020
On 12/30/2019, I created an online service request with American Home Shield after several failed attempts to get through to them by phone. The request was due to my hot water heater leaking. I finally got a chance to speak to rep, and told the rep that this was an emergency and could a my request be expedited. The rep told me that I had to wait for the contractor to respond before anything could be done. I contacted the contractor myself that morning and let them know that my water was leaking into my garage and was told by the contractor that the earliest that they could respond would be January 4th. I called AHS back and told them this and they said that nothing could be done until the contractor rejects the work order or 48 hours passes.
I let the rep from AHS know that this was an emergency and that damage was being caused in my garage from the leaking water and asked if he could please contact another contractor that could respond immediately, or allow me to get my own contractor that could respond immediately The rep said that would require authorization, but first, he would need check contractors in the area and call me back, but I never received a call back. I called back AGAIN and explained the same problem to another rep, he said that he would transfer me to dispatch so that they could assist me with finding a contractor in the area and instead transferring me, he disconnected the phone call.
I waited until the next morning, contacted American Home shield again On 12/31/2019 and attempted to get someone out to fix the issue. I also asked the rep that since since there was water damage, and since I had no hot water, could I contact someone on my own and the rep said that was a last resort after all options had been exhausted. I kept getting the run around, was put on hold, never received a call back from AHS regarding my service request and every time that I would call back and ask for a manager or supervisor, I would placed on hold and told that there were no managers or supervisors available. I have small children and had no hot water or running for two days, so I was forced to get my own contractor.
I contacted AHS again and explained my dilemma and was told to submit invoices and receipts to two different addresses and I am being told that they are refusing to reimburse me. What other options did I have? I paid for a home warranty service, made a service request, waited, and waited, and waited, was hung up on, wasn’t called back, and ultimately didn’t receive the service from AHS that I am paying for. It seemed like Everyone that I spoke with was more in a hurry to get me off the phone and didn’t really want to address my problem. This is a horrible way to treat people that are not paying you for a service.
Good Morning,
Thank you for partnering with me to reach a resolution on this matter. It was my pleasure assisting you and thank you for being the best part of American Home Shield!

So, we called American Home Shield and went through them. We’ve had very good luck with the contractors so far and they're very good. We’d recommend American Home Shield. It's very valuable having it when you move into a home. The house is pre-owned and you're not sure of the condition of everything. We had a couple of home warranty choices, and the Realtor that we were working with recommended AHS.

I had American Home Shield for a property that I had before. I was familiar with them and I didn’t know any of the competitors like I do today, so I went with them. I had two toilets that were running, and I had a sink that the pipe probably must have been too short and it’s dripping. The contractor came in and he put a new pipe on, which worked. There was more dripping from the garbage disposal and then, he also changed the entire little flapper piece in the toilets. Every time you flush it, the water would build up and then rise to the seat out. He fixed everything to work 100%.
At the time when I made the request for a plumber, I also made a request for an electrician, which was when things started to go bad. I was gonna give them a call from work because they sent me their findings and I’m not happy with it at all. I was ready to cancel the $100 deductible until they resolve the issues and someone was supposed to get back to me. I still haven’t heard from them. It’s clear to me that as long as the issue is simple, you get good service but when it’s a little bit complicated, nobody wants to explain anything to you. So, I’m not happy with them right now. I’ve been waiting for almost a month now and I’m on the verge of canceling.

The sellers put American Home Shield on the sale of the house when we purchased it back in September of ‘19. After my fiance’s daughter and future son-in-law moved in and used the shower, that was when they realized that the drain itself was leaking. I called American Home Shield and they got a hold of Eagle Plumbing and Heating and within 45 minutes, Eagle got a hold of me. Tim from Eagle was very pleasant. He said he couldn’t get out there the following day, but he came out two days later. He was there when he said he’d be. And when he was within a mile of the house, he texted saying, “I’ll be there,” in whatever time he was gonna be. I thought we had the problem resolved and unfortunately, it wasn’t as easy a fix as he thought. So, we had to call AHS back and he came back a second time and got it completely rectified. He was phenomenal.
American Home Shield is very easy as far as contact goes. Obviously, it saves us a ton of money, as far as any upcoming repairs that may be needed. So we are really happy with how that all worked out. As a matter of fact, my fiance and I, we’ve already decided that when the original warranty expires, we’re gonna look into having it renewed because we are renting out the other side.

My heating claim with American Home Shield went fine. Amazing Comfort came out and took care of what the issues were and got it resolved pretty quickly. I was dealing with an elderly tenant. It was really cold and she had no heat. It was really critical that we got somebody to her as quickly as possible. While I understand that AHS or the companies that are working with them have a process, it took some time to be able to connect with somebody that could get to her when I had an individual that could have gotten to her within an hour.
I had requested permission to be able to contact that particular company because I would let them know I have somebody that I do trust and that I would like them to get out there and get this taken care of. And that was flat out denied. In the midst of the "season," it can be quite busy, so I certainly understand that. And I did do my own follow up on the company that we ended up using. He did okay, but that company did not have the greatest reviews out there. So, I was kinda nervous as to how the situation would go and what would happen.

We had problems that started out with the water heater then the stove went out. We then had to call a plumber and they replaced the plumbing. We still had problems because the plumbing had to be replaced by the city on the other side. And then we still had problems with the heater so American Home Shield sent out Rise Heating and Air and they fixed it. They replaced one part and it was $650. Everything is great with the furnace now.
But we have a problem with AHS. We bought our house a year ago in November and I asked if American Home Shield's service could be provided. I was told yes and about a week before I was going to renew, AHS called me saying if I renewed then, they were gonna give me a special rate. They were gonna charge me half one month and give it to me for free the following month. I would not have to pay again until January. On the 31st of December, I called and they said I was not gonna be charged until January. But that money came out that night. I called AHS. I really thought that the plumber that fixed all the pipes the first time would have been paid for, but no. That was $1,500. They told me it was where the pipes were like tied in to the city. My insurance through Farmers wouldn’t pay for it either.

I run my own business and I want people I do business with to run their businesses in the same proficient and honest manner that I do. The previous company I was with didn't do that. My wife and I had been in the real estate business years ago and we've always recommended American Home Shield to the buyers because we knew how good they were. So, it was one of those things we did in the past, and when it came time to us to get one, that was what we did.
The contractors were very friendly, courteous and efficient. The guy that runs Bennett Appliance has been out here once before with a different company but he told me that he was now associated with AHS and his own business. He did an excellent job. He told me exactly what was wrong and fixed it in about two minutes. He also gave me his card and told me to call him back if I needed him, and I said I would. The guys from the air conditioning place told me that I didn't have a problem and explained to me why I thought I did and what was wrong. When they’re honest, that makes a difference because there are people who would tell you that they need to replace this and that and that they need to do things. Neither of the two contractors did that. They told me exactly what was wrong and fixed the problem, which I appreciate.

BestWay Mechanical came out to fix the leak of a water line. When they came in the first time and checked it they said it wasn’t leaking, but I knew it was leaking. They came on a Monday and 10 minutes they were gone. The floor was too warm and that concrete wasn't supposed to be like that. Concrete is real cold. When I felt the inside of the little pantry in the bathroom it was warm in there, too. So I had to go outside where the walls were, behind the hot water heater, and that wall between the stand-up shower. And when the hot water heater is in it, it went from there to back inside, and that wall on the outside of the garage was warm, too. So I was thinking the leak got to be behind the wall and the water heater and the tub.
Two week had gone. I kept feeling the floor getting warmer and warmer. That was when I seen it through the wall. It started seeping through the wall. So I had to call back. They sent the guy in again and said the pipe was leaking up from under the slab. The damage is done now. And they ain't letting me know anything. I don’t know if they're gonna fix it or what. AHS said they were gonna get back with me, but they never did. So on that part I’m kind of dissatisfied with. The only thing I can do is call. But they don’t speak to me, or try and do something else. I've been with AHS for two months, and I wouldn't even put no claim at all. I like American Home Shield for sending the service guy here. But they're not handling it to the best way they know how.
Good morning Tony,

The guy from Hero’s Plumbing Services was very professional and extremely friendly. It was almost like having someone you’ve known for a very long time in your home, not a stranger. The seal on the toilet was leaking so he went and redid the seal and a few other things so that that would not happen again. He walked us through the whole thing. He knew exactly what to do. He got it done then left. We couldn't have been any more happier. We've had AHS for more than a year and we continue to keep it because it’s a lot cheaper if something happens to your home to pay the service fee than to have to pay the whole shebang.
Good afternoon Mrs. Jarvinen,

I requested a service to American Home Shield for our water heater and the guy from BestWay Mechanical Inc. came out. He got here about 9:00 and explained to us what the problem was. Some of the heating cords in the water heater need to be replaced and he replaced them. He was here between 30 minutes to an hour at the most and then he was gone. That claim went great and he did good. He was very professional and very informative. He answered all my questions.
We had another issue with my refrigerator and I know it's not AHS's fault. It's the people who came out and serviced us. The problem was, the contractor gave me a thing between 8:00 and 12:00, which was too wide to ask somebody to stay and wait in the house, and he didn't get here ‘til after 5:00. That was a whole day. He did call me though and he did it twice. He called me when he was two hours out and told me he was going to one and I was the second in line after that. And then he called me and told me he was at the last one and that I will be next.
If I'm the last one on the list, they could've called me and say, "I'm gonna call you when I'm two hours out to let you know I'm in your area or I'm on my way to your house." The contractor was very professional though and very informative. But I could have done something and been back in that same time frame, but I didn't. I just sat here and waited. That was the only thing I had a problem with. Other than that, I'm happy with American Home Shield. They are a very good company and they've always given me good service for the last 13 years.

Home Shield is worth the money. We had a dishwasher that kept blinking out of nowhere and that was all it was doing. I got online and submitted a claim. The online portion to submit a claim is so easy that I was done in under five minutes and had a phone call within the next two hours. The contractor asked for my availability. We planned out a time and he showed up. He said it was the console on the dishwasher and that he was gonna order the part. He came back out when he got the part and he put the part in. Then, he said he did a cycle and that everything was running. But two days later, my wife said it wasn't drying. The heat was coming on but it wasn't drying the right way. I texted the tech and told him about the issue. He came out again for us. He said he would take a look at it before we call Home Shield again. He was really easy to work with.

American Home Shield sent Wright Appliance to repair my dishwasher that didn’t work. The claim was a process because it was about a week before they came out. And then they ordered parts and had to get those approved, and then it was about another five days before they came back. Then that didn’t really fix the problem, so I had to call in, and they made a new claim. About four days later, the guy came back out, ordered more parts, had to get those approved, and we waited another four days for him to come back and put the parts in. So, all total, we had about three weeks in there. But at the end, happily, my dishwasher works. Wright is a good outfit. The people that came out are great. I wish we could have it a little more expedient, but I understand, everybody’s got issues and there’s only so many people to take care.
I just wish AHS would quit raising their parts I have to pay in every year and what I have to pay the people that come out. But they have been great. I’ve been with you them for many years. I am kinda looking around, though, because I think their stuff is getting pretty competitive as far as prices are concerned. Still, I am very pleased. Right now, it’s economic.

I would like to be able to reference some of the people that American Home Shield contracts with to come versus other ones who have come in the past. The website doesn’t give me an option to do that. That is the biggest thing that I hate about the website. A lot of times in the past, what I found myself doing was just waiting on the line trying to get through to somebody because I didn’t want the website to just pick somebody. I wanted to be able to talk to somebody and say, “I had this company come out before. I like them,” or, “I don’t like this other company. Don’t ever send them back again.”
Discount Contractors came out recently for the garbage disposal as water was pouring out of the bottom of it. When the tech looked at it, he said, “This looks like the original garbage disposal from the home. I’m surprised it lasted that long." He put a new one in there. I've had them work a couple of times, and they’re really good. They come in and they identify the problem right away, they repair it and they’re out.

Before my husband passed away, he wanted me to get American Home Shield. We knew he was going to pass and we wanted to make sure that everything is taken care of and I wouldn’t get stuck if anything broke. I would be covered and I could take care of things. We have had them for almost three years and we had had to use them for the first time. So far, so good and it worked exactly the way they said it was gonna work.
HD Service Company was sent out and when he arrived at our home, he got me on the phone and I talked to him. He was very knowledgeable about what was going on and my mom said he was very nice. He went down where the issue was and made sure everything is fine before signing off. He figured out that the water flow wasn’t working properly and got it fixed. He also said that if I have any problems, we had 30 days. If I find anything else, I can call him back with no other charge. We’ve had no issues since he had been here as everything has been working great.

One day last year, I noticed the garage door wasn’t opening fully. The controller was working, but the door was going up only a little bit and then coming down because it was not able to fully open. I called American Home Shield because I have the home warranty and they sent AC Overhead Garage Door. When they came and they checked, they said that the warranty doesn’t cover it. They are very much well versed on what is covered and what is not covered. It says that the garage door opener is covered in my contract, but if one goes into the details, the spring is not covered. And the problem was with the spring. It lost the tension so the spring was not able to roll up. So, even though I had paid AHS yearly once, I still I had to pay the contractor out of pocket, which is how they make money. Yet the guy was very professional and he knew exactly what he was supposed to do.
I’m in Southern California and I’m close to Los Angeles, and the guys who are sent for any kind of electric problems come very quickly. They set up time within 24 hours and as soon as I submit the claim. But it’s not a claim and it’s not just a service ticket, because I end up paying every time. But overall, American Home Shield is good.

We started out a little rocky with the claim with American Home Shield. The first provider came out and refused to do the work and then lied on their report about why they were refusing it, which made it seem like it was my fault. They were going to make me pay for somebody to come out for a second opinion. When I tried to deal with that, it took several tries to get to somebody at American Home Shield who would help me. But eventually, I got approved for a second opinion. ACLV was the second provider that came out to look at the issue and they were great. They did a lot of crawling around in my attic. It was not the easiest job, but they were able to get it done exactly how they said they would, in the amount of time and for the money that I had to do it out of pocket for. It was on target, so I was very pleased with their half of it.
However, there needs to be a better system for accountability for the providers that they do business with. I understand that all I can do as a consumer is file a complaint with American Home Shield, and then after a certain amount of complaints, they re-evaluate their relationship with that particular provider. It needs to be a little bit more transparent than that because they caused me to not have heat for two weeks in the middle of winter. So, it was a much bigger problem than just putting in a complaint and adding to an unknown list of complaints that they may have already received about that company and then not getting any follow-up about what actually happened with it.
The other trouble is you can't speak to the same person ever again at AHS, which is not surprising. They use call centers in the Philippines. There needs to be a better system when you have a major issue for it to escalate and perhaps speak to somebody in a supervisory position that is able to be contacted repeatedly, directly. I feel like the whole thing was me being bounced around the Philippines. It wasted two weeks for absolutely no reason at all. Overall though, I'm still on the satisfied end of things because we've had several claims, mostly with small stuff. That was the only major repair that we've had. Everything has been done really well. I'm happy with the furnace that was installed. It's a good service and it's worthwhile, especially in an older home like what we have.
Collin,
Thank you for sharing your recent experiences with us. We look forward to our continued business together. Have a great day.

I called American Home Shield to come check on a plumbing issue that I have with my toilet and a sink. So I paid $100 and the company came out. But the guy said he only had a service order for the toilet. He didn't have anything for the sink so he couldn't work on it. That was the first mistake American Home Shield did. So I called back and the AHS rep said sorry that the other representative hadn't put the sink on there but that they were gonna have to charge me another $100 to send another representative to come out. I paid $100 again but this time, my water heater was leaking and there was this pressure valve situation. If I was gonna pay $100, I might as well have the contractor make sure that everything was on point.
American Home Shield sent this other company to come out and the technician was great. The technician advised me that the water heater is damaged due to old age. It was like 2007. He said the water pressure valve had to be changed and I should be good after that. Then he said the reason the sink was not working was because the water pressure was too high. He said the company might not cover it because of the water pressure. I said it was no problem and I would pay to get the sink fixed myself. So they left.
American Home Shield called me and said that they were gonna fix the water pressure valve but they were not gonna fix my water heater. I thought water heaters were included in my contract though. They said yes but it looked like the reason that the water heater was damaged was because of high water pressure. I asked where they were getting this information from. I called the technician and told him what American Home Shield had said – that in the report, he stated that the water heater was damaged due to high water pressure. But he said he never said that and that the pressure had nothing to do with my water heater.
So then I was confused. He was saying one thing and American Home Shield was saying another thing. Then he said, “Listen, I’m gonna be honest with you. It’s not me. It’s actually my boss.” In fact, when I called to find out what was going on, the owner's wife had tried to sell me on the water heater. She said my water heater was damaged and that it was not gonna be covered. She said they could come out here and it was gonna cost me $1500. She told me I would need to fix it right away. I was confused then. What was the difference between me paying and the insurance paying?
The technician told me that American Home Shield pays them like a bare minimum at parts and labor. They don’t really make that much money. Since the owner, Alex, is not actually doing the work himself and he has to hire a technician to come out, they would normally split whatever the work would be. I was a little bit upset. My hot water was barely running and I have two kids in my house. I went downstairs to look at the water pressure to see what exactly it was that they were talking about and on the water heater itself, it says the maximum pressure is 150. The day that the technician came out, the water pressure was like 90 to 100. So it had nothing to do with the water pressure.
I tried to explain that to American Home Shield but they said it was whatever the technician said. They wanted the technician to actually call them. So I asked the guy if there was any way that he could call American Home Shield directly. He was yes but that if he called them directly, they were not gonna give him the work and that they would send the work to the company but that Alex wouldn't wanna do the work. I asked why and the technician said it was just not enough money. I even talked to Alex and I told him I didn't understand. It was work for him and for his employee. I asked why he was saying what he said about the water pressure. He said the technician doesn't know. But how could the technician not know? I asked why he would send the technician to my house if he doesn't know. It has been really difficult with this company and I’ve been through so much with them.
I wanted the technician to do my work. He had been very honest with me and I trusted him. I would rather give him the work myself and have American Home Shield pay him directly instead of the company. But he said it was gonna be very difficult for that to happen, that it was gonna be a problem and that he would rather not. The technician also said he would have called American Home Shield for me but Alex had told him not to call. I told American Home Shield I could call the technician on three-way. But they said the technician would have to call and they would have to send an email. It was protocol.
American Home Shield offered to have someone else come out and see what they say, and if they say something different then AHS could definitely replace the water heater. So this new company came out and said the issue is due to old age. They said exactly the same thing that the other technician had said. Okay, great. Finally, AHS is gonna fix this water heater, right? Well now, American Home Shield is saying they are approving the work order but that the technician is saying I would need $750 in upgrades. Honestly, I got a quote to replace the water heater and it was $500. So if I have insurance and the insurance is paying for the water heater and the technician's work, why is it costing me $750 more? It’s unfair. I feel like the companies don’t wanna do the work because American Home Shield is not paying enough then they would add on these extra things that the insurance doesn't cover so they can make extra money.
There’s no way with these people. It's like you're paying insurance for no reason and then you're paying all these deductibles. I had already paid two deductibles for the same work order. The warranty is like a scam. I’ve been through so much with American Home Shield and these people that they hire. I don’t think it’s real warranty. It’s just more of promoting people’s businesses and giving them a little bit of work. Then obviously, they make a commission off of each client that they send.
Yesterday, I was on the phone with American Home Shield for almost an hour and the guy said they were gonna have to escalate the case and that he would give me a call back in a couple hours. I never got a call back from anybody. My water heater is still damaged and the water pressure valve is still damaged. American Home Shield doesn’t call the new company either. The company said that they're gonna replace the water heater but they're waiting on American Home Shield to give them the okay. Even if they fix the water heater, I still have to pay like $750 out of my pocket though.
I apologize for the inconvenience. My name is Stacy & I've just sent you an email to obtain more information about your experience & assist with unresolved issues. I look forward to speaking with you.

I've had Home Shield for at least 3 years and I've kept them as it's easy going with them. When I called American Home Shield, they sent a GE man out. He said that it was the motor, so they replaced the motor. A week later, it was the same problem. The same outfit came out saying that it had to be the agitator. He replaced it, but it was again the same problem. I called again, and GE came out again. They said, “Well, we gotta replace the hangers,” so they replaced all the hangers. For about a month, it was okay, and then it started all over again. So, I called American Home Shield for the fourth time. I told them I didn’t want the GE people out here even though it is a GE product. So, they sent Tarheel out here. The tech came out, looked at it, found the problem, and we haven’t had a problem since. He from did an excellent job. So, I'm very happy with them.
Overall, I’m not displeased with American Home Shield. They’ve done a great job for me. I got a new refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washer and a dryer, and a fan. And they repaired my microwave and even put a new water heater in. But the GE people in Charlotte doesn’t know how to diagnose a problem. When they sent the non-GE people here, the problems get solved. I'm happy with AHS, and, generally, they’ve been outstanding. But this washer issue was pain for quite some time. So, instead of an A, they get a A minus.

I've used American Home Shield since 2016 on our Dallas house. Now, we just bought a house and since we moved in, they've always been very responsive. I submitted a claim because the air conditioner would never blow any cool air, and US Air came out. We've used them in Dallas as well, and they've always been really good. They said it was a Freon leak so they put Freon in it. It only worked for a couple of days so we called them back out and they found another Freon leak and they put Freon in. They also found some kind of valve thing that was wrong so the guy replaced that.
I always submit my claims online and I just got online to submit a leaky faucet request. However, half of my contract service things are grayed out and I didn't understand why. I think there's something wrong with their website right now, but the technology usually works great. And even if I have trouble with getting a callback, if I call American Home Shield's toll-free number, they always handle it. So anytime there has been a problem, it's not like you're left hanging there. They're right on top of it. I called American Home Shield at the end of August 2019 because our refrigerator was no longer cooling. For the next 4 months our refrigerator was in and out of the shop 3 separate time and returned to us, only to fail again and again. AHS continues to encourage us that they would take care of us and replace the refrigerator if it continues to fail. This morning we received our second opinion and the repairmen advised us and AHS that we needed a replacement. I was so relieved that the insanity would finally end. And what does AHS do? They IGNORE the second opinion and instead call around for another company to come out and verify yet again after almost 5 months that this refrigerator cannot be fixed. Absolute insanity.
Meanwhile, my 6 children have all experienced dehydration here and there because there are no cold drinks in the kitchen (who wants to drink warm Florida tap water). I have struggled with various alternative ways to keep enough cold drinks coming throughout the day, but it is exhausting! This is pathetic AHS. I am such an idiot for continuing to pay you a monthly premium when you are not taking care of this issue in a timely manner. And I think 5 months is more than generous for a timely manner with regards to this daily necessity. We have been overly patient with you and you have not served us well. How dare you take our money and treat us this way. Furious.
Good Morning Michelle,
I apologize that your experience with AHS was not satisfactory. I will follow up with you as soon as possible in an effort to assist you with your unresolved matters regarding this request. Thanks for your patience.

American Home Shield sent out Advanced Services for my refrigerator. The technician was nice and he seemed fine to me. There was something that had to be replaced in my refrigerator and a lot of money was needed to do so. It needed a new compressor and American Home Shield said it wasn't worth it. There was none available as that compressor was not made anymore. I had to go out and buy a new refrigerator. When I got the new one, they took the old one. The new refrigerator cost me over $3,000 and AHS is supposed to be giving me 2,580.
It was the end of October when I bought the new refrigerator and I've been waiting for a long time. My son faxed or emailed them the bill and stuff. That was December 4th. I then called to see what was going on and they said they didn't get anything. Meanwhile, when my son did the email, they said it was received. Now, he did it again this past Saturday and it said it was received. It's absolutely ridiculous how long I've been waiting to get my money back. Overall, I was satisfied with the contractor but I'm not too thrilled with American Home Shield.
Good Morning Joan,
Thank you for partnering with me to reach a resolution on this matter. It was my pleasure assisting you and thank you for being the best part of American Home Shield!

The technician that AHS sent for our recent claim was very good. He took care of my problem and made me happy. And as far as American Home Shield goes, I’m happy with the service. The only thing is it’s costing me a lot of money to have it. It costs me $56 a month. When I started with them, I was paying 45. They jacked me up $10 a month. My wife and I are 75 years old and we can’t do a lot of things that younger people wanna attempt to try. And as far as knowing people to do certain things for you, we don’t have that, so we have to rely on outside help, some professionals like the heating or air conditioning or the plumbing. So, this is why even though it’s costing money, it’s an insurance policy that we have something to go to. If I have a problem, I know within a couple days, it’s gonna be resolved. Their service is good and I’m not disappointed. And the contractors that they sent were all good.

I have two properties with American Home Shield and we go online when submitting claims. The website is user-friendly. One of the things I don’t like about it is that you don’t get to choose a vendor. It just kind of tells you who you’re gonna use. I had a claim where King Electric Contracting came out to our home. We were having our lights kinda flicker every once in a while, just every so often, so we wanted to be sure that all of the electrical with regards to the switches for the first floor were working correctly. They made one repair and then had to come back out for a second repair. It was a little bit of a hassle. The technician ended up just taking off the light switches and making sure all the connections were stable. It’s been good since then.

I used to be with Choice Warranty and I had so much trouble with them, so I got rid of them. American Home Shield came with no problem. They solved my problem without any hesitation, and I'm glad that I changed over to them. They acted very fast, which to me is very important. I had a plumbing issue right before Christmas eve and I had a problem with the toilet. American Home Shield put in a call with one company and that company couldn't come until a week after. So, they put in another call with another company which showed up with no problem at all. The company came and replaced the seal in no time.
Great Salpi! That's exactly what we like to hear. We appreciate you taking time to share your AHS experience. Have an amazing weekend.

My claim with American Home Shield where Mason Mechanical came out went very well. I'm sort of new to having heat pump and electric heat so I've had some concerns considering it was getting to be winter here. The gentleman who came out was extremely polite and very knowledgeable. I'm partly an engineer, and so I understood what he was talking about. He was very good. And they're just 30 miles away so I know if I have a problem, I can get help right away.
I went online and scheduled the appointment. And then, I got a text message back that Mason was the contractor and if I wanted to call them, I could. One of the things about American Home Shield's website, they say, "What is your nature of your problem?" They really don't give you any space to really describe it. They give you a contractor who then wouldn't know if what was wrong with my system was normal or not normal or an emergency or not. I was in technology all my life. The ability to describe what the problem is online might be more helpful to whoever they assign it to as opposed to just saying, "I have a problem with my heating system." I can't remember exactly what the interface was but it didn't leave much room to say, "This is what my concern is." But the whole process worked. They got me through to a contractor right away so I was very happy.
My need turned out to be satisfied more by education than anything else. And that was worth the $75 to me. I didn't mind that at all. When I called them up, I spoke with two representatives before the technician came out. They were both women, and they were both knowledgeable. After I described to them what was going on, within two hours, somebody was here. I got the impression from them that my concern was not an emergency but they just said, "Okay, we'll schedule it for today." And they did. I bought this townhouse in January of 2019, so I've had AHS for a year now. It was part of the package when I bought the house. And so, I renewed it. My major concern is the heating system because it's 15 years old so if it fails, I'd like to have some insurance on it.

The claim submission process is very easy as I use the website and it’s convenient. I've had American Home Shield warranty for 5 years now and it's good. In my last claim, the customer service was excellent and the Excellence Air technician they sent to my house was very good as well. It was not a real problem because of the air conditioner. It was just how the builder designed the house. So, the tech let me know how I need to set up the temperature and also explained why the upstairs temperature is lower sometimes.
Good afternoon Hai,

There were a couple of outlets in my dining room that were not working. And the sconces have been going on and off. They make the breaker trip. The contractor from TWC reset the breaker. He said that it may be that if I plug in the vacuum cleaner at the same time as I have lights on in there, that could be too much. Since then, I’m doing fine on those. There was an outlet in the living room that was not working. He said that it didn’t have wiring there. We went down to the basement to see, and the basement ceiling has been finished off, and he said it would be really difficult to try to figure out where that was so that he could run more wire. So, we just kind of left that. The light fixture over my kitchenette table had been working, and then when I went to change the bulb, which was about the third time I’ve changed the bulb, it didn’t work. And so, he did something to that and it is now working.
The contractor was really good. He said to keep an eye on it, and if it happens again, he said it’s a good thing that the breaker is tripping. He wasn’t sure exactly why it was tripping. But he did check. The other two outlets that were not working were because they’re on that same thing with the sconces. Everything else was fine. And hopefully, when my light over the table that's got a bulb in it now goes out, I hope that I don’t have a problem when I put in a new bulb.
I’ve told both of my neighbors that I have American Home Shield, and that it’s worked out really well. I did have one thing with the boiler. I’ve got a boiler system that Airmax fixed, and the only issue that I had with American Home Shield on that is it took a long time. At first, they put me with a company that did not work on steam heat boilers. The prompt that I had said gas. And it is powered by gas, but when it goes through the system, it converts the stuff to steam to go through some radiators. So, that kinda slowed things down. Then, the Airmax guy was able to come like December 30th. That was like five days after because I had called right after Christmas. When it was the wrong people trying to get me with an appointment, a new person had to be found, and AHS found Airmax.
He was able to come on December 30th, but because of the paperwork then it was the 1st of Jan. I finally got a call in the morning of the 3rd.It took a special technician to replace the pump, and he didn’t have any availability until the 9th. So, I was without heat downstairs for about 12 days. I had my dad who was staying with me over the holidays, and he’s 90 years old. Upstairs, I have a regular forced air heating and cooling system, but not on the first floor. And so, he pretty much had to stay upstairs the whole time. I just brought our meals up to us, and we ate in my upstairs TV room. And I had to do that for 12 days. It was too cold for him to be downstairs. One pump was working, and so that gave me a little tiny bit of heat downstairs, but it was like 60. The good thing was that the weather was cooperating pretty much. In Ohio, it was like 50s, which was pretty good. Otherwise, my house was pretty well-insulated.
There are two companies that I usually use for some things. John’s Plumbing does my annual inspection, and if I have any plumbing work that I thought wouldn’t be a claim under American Home Shield, they’ve done that. I had faucet handles installed after I had the sinks re-glazed. And that wouldn’t have been warrantied, but I was asking them about American Home Shield. The other is Herald’s Appliances. Neither one of them was very interested in working with AHS. It had something to do when they would be paid. Normally, if I have somebody that’s not under a warranty, they get paid immediately through me. If AHS could find somebody else that could be on their list for doing steam heat boilers, that would be great. Other than that, everybody’s been super professional when they come. So, I like that.

Everything has been super good with American Home Shield and we're happy with everything except for Keith, whom they sent out for a leak in a pipe. He said that AHS wanted all pipes replaced and it was gonna be $2,000. He said we should either pay him $1,000 now and then $1,000 later. We gave him a check and we signed the contract. But AHS, as well as the police, couldn't find him. The contract had his address in Jefferson City and the police went out there twice. Nobody lives there. The police in our county have looked. Every time he was supposed to be out here in the morning. I would call and he would be in Sevierville. So, we tried getting in touch in Sevierville. AHS hired him and we trusted him because they sent him.
AHS took out 200 and paid him for what he said he bought to fix it, and he took that also out of the $1,000. He took the $75. He charged AHS hypothetically $50 for a thing and he had everything listed that he had paid for what AHS had ordered. I'm dissatisfied with that, and it has taken a few calls to get that last thing fixed. AHS should know who they're sending, do a background to find out if they are legal, honest and trustworthy. The man who came out here for the garbage disposal had it fixed and there wasn't anything wrong with it. Whoever put it in, wired it wrong. All he had to do was rewire it, and it works fine. Also, when we had a plumbing issue, it went fine but American Home Shield took out $100 three times and they haven’t called back.

When my garbage disposal was making a terrible, grinding noise, I submitted a claim for it. I got an email back saying who the contractor would be and when they would call. The contractor did a good job. They were very efficient and very polite. There was a screw in the garbage disposal and they just took it out.

My husband called American Home Shield back and said, “That’s not gonna work because in a week, the pipe could bust and the whole water heater… No, you can’t let it go for a week. Can you send someone?” So, they sent out someone from R-Mech within a couple of days. He was very nice and he fixed it. He did a good job. With AHS, there have been some issues in my house which I've called them for and their reps told me that the issue isn't covered. Their warranty is nice for my appliances but when I had what looked like a leak in my ceiling AHS told me that was not covered I was dumbfounded. This has now happened twice between the two houses that I've had.
More recently, I had a showerhead that was leaking one time and I submitted a claim to AHS. They sent Springdale Plumbing who then called me to set up an appointment. They were on time and I liked them. The techs told me how they fixed my issue and what parts they used. They gave me their card to call them if I had any issues and left. Now, my showerhead is perfect and is no longer leaking.

Our toilet was clogged. The first company that American Home Shield sent out did absolutely nothing. He never came in our home and he never touched a toilet. He went in the street and out back where the hole is for. He put a snake in it, and he said he only had so many foot snake. He was told exactly where the pipe goes on the floor, and the man said that he gotta go back and get some more equipment. We asked him if he wanna try to flush that down our toilet instead of out in the street, and he said he gotta get other equipment. He said he would be coming back, but he never did. We called the company and asked when he was coming back. They said he was out here and he marked on the paper that he fixed it. He also said that this is an apartment complex, but we live in a one story townhouse. He ripped us bad and he ripped off American Home Shield too.
The second company that sent out was Water Wise. The gentleman came out, he listened, and he flushed. He was so professional. He took his time and he got the job done. He also took the cleanout off of our tub and ran it down, and knocked some hair loose under the tub that connected to the toilet area. He cleaned all that out. Now, when we run the water in here, it's going out like nobody’s business. I was so happy, and I tipped him 20 bucks. He worked so hard, and he closed the claim. American Home Shield should use this young fellow and Water Wise. They should get rid of the other company. I don’t even want the other company out here. They should put Water Wise on my contract. That’s who I want every time.

American Home Shield has a good website. If you’re familiar with your appliances in the home, the website is very user-friendly. You just go in and hit the dropdown and what appliances you have. It’s much better than what it used to be. So, it’s easy to go through and have it processed now. Once you put your issue in, usually within a few hours or maybe even the next day, they let you know which company is gonna come out. And then they’ll also let you know that the company’s gonna contact you within 24 hours. I had a problem with my dryer so I went online, and American Home Shield dispatched the next available person on the list of whomever they have contract with.
Shenandoah Appliance Plumbing and Electric contacted me over the telephone to let me know that they had received the service order. They also let me know that if it was something that could be repaired, that they may have to order the part and come back in a few days. And then, they let me know the scheduled appointment time. It’s usually a four-hour window. But they gave a 30-minute heads-up call to let me know that they were en route. When they were finally here, they advised me what they found wrong. The circuit board was broken and non-repairable, so they sent their recommendation in to American Home Shield. They also indicated it would be a few days before I was to hear back from American Home Shield. It did take American Home Shield about 3 days to let me know what their recommendation was for the repair of the appliance, and they wound up replacing the dryer.
I've been protected by American Home Shield since 2006. At that time, there weren’t very many providers available. Yet, so far, I’ve never had any problems with them. They’ve always been very quick to send someone out to the home within a day or two. If I have something goes wrong over the weekend, they usually try to have someone contact me first thing Monday morning. So, American Home Shield is a great company.
That's exactly what we like to hear Paula. Thanks for sharing your AHS experience. We look forward to handling your home warranty needs. Have an amazing weekend.

I had an air conditioning trouble in July and I went 23 days without air conditioning. I moved in the house 5 years ago, so I had no idea how old the air conditioner was, but they ran the serial number and found out it was 18 years old. AHS didn’t wanna replace the unit and just wanted to replace the compressor. And the air conditioning guy said, “If they had replaced the whole, you would’ve at least had a warranty, and it would’ve been about the same cost.”
Then, the knob of the water faucet in my bathtub I had upstairs broke and I could not shut off the water. The way they handled that whole thing ended up costing me a lot of money. The contractor that was sent out took a few days to actually get the faucet replaced. And because they had to splice in the new knob to the old pipe, they charged me an extra amount, which was crappy. They had to cut out a big area to get to the pipes. They tore out the wall and the tiles, and I had to get all that replaced. That’s one other thing that cost me more for that repair ‘cause they don’t do anything on putting the tiles back up. Also, my old knob was chrome but the new one they put on was plastic. They put a new stout and new shower head, but the whole thing is all plastic so I would see how long they would last.
The only thing that was done that I’ve been very pleased with was the clog in my drain that got resolved within an hour. Lubbock A-1 Plumbing came out after I called it in and they unclogged the drain. That was really good. I've been a customer of American Home Shield for 3 and a half years and it was only this summer when I had my first claim. Still, I’m not really happy with AHS right now. I also have to pay $100 service fee every time they come out. So, I’ve already been talking to some of my neighbors and I’ve gotten some names of another home warranty company that seems very reliable that I may change over to.
Your AHS feedback is more than appreciated and I hope you continue to enjoy!

Every time I use AHS, I'm fine. I've been with them for about 20 years and they've replaced the air conditioner and the hot water heater. Their contractor came in and did what they had to do to take care of the problem. For my refrigerator claim, AHS sent Lucas Appliance. The contractors were very courteous and cleaned up behind themselves. However, the repair lasted for about a week. After that, the freezer started freezing up on the coils again. They came back, figured out that the parts were manufactured upside-down and turned it around. They also had to buy another part. The other part froze up and when that happened, not only did the freezer stop, but the refrigerator side also did. They also repaired the ice maker. But for some reason, it won't stop making ice. I'll observe it today and tomorrow and see if it functions correctly. If it doesn't, then I'm gonna make a call.
I certainly hate to hear that we did not provide the expected service. You have had issues with us here at AHS & I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for sharing your feedback as we hope to improve processes for a better customer experience. Have a great week.

The main line was still filling up the hot water thing, but there was no hot water. And when you turn on all the faucets in the house, the hot water side, we wouldn’t get any water. So, all that water was just running underneath the house. My daughter and her husband, and our granddaughter were here. So, nobody could take a bath until that was fixed.
Crouch Plumbing came out and we didn’t know it had been leaking until we heard it. He replaced a piece of pipe. It’s a plastic pipe like they do on these new homes. And he had to crawl all the way from one side to the other side of the house, towards our hot water. It was on the hot water line, not on the main line. When he crawled out, he told me what it was, but he said he didn’t have the right size pipe to fix it, and he was gonna go back to Crouch and get the pipe. He also said that he couldn’t do anything until AHS approved what he was gonna do. He was gone 30 minutes. I told my wife, “It’s gonna be dark, he won’t come back.” But he came and fixed it and we were able to get hot water back up before it got dark. We’ve always used Crouch and it was a real good service.

If I call in a claim, it takes too long and I’m on hold for about 30 minutes. Submitting online is a little bit quicker. In a recent claim, Kelly Brother’s came out to install my fixture on the same day and so I like them. But I’m still dealing with my claim for the washer that started in December. American Home Shield sent out Texas Plumbing last week but there still has been no resolve on the hot water situation. They don’t know what’s going on and it’s obvious they couldn’t do it.
I have had coverage with American Home Shield going on 9 years now and the service could always be better. It used to be $65 but I'm also noticing that everything is going up including the service fee. I don't like that I pay people, then do not get any resolve. But I like to pay $100 when it’s said and done. I understand how they gotta operate in order to get someone out there and pay for it, but I don’t understand how it’s going up.

He said that it was no problem and that he would be arrive after lunch since he had another appointment. When he came, he had fixed it and he was very gracious. It was perfect and we were very pleased.
We also have had problems with our refrigerator. The icemaker wasn't working and then we found water under the refrigerator. Even the defrost wasn't working properly. But we've more or less taken care of that. The appliances seemed to have some age on them, being at least 10 years, and we found a deal for where we're getting all of our appliances changed out. So, everything else seems good. We have no complaints at all but are appreciative of AHS.

My experience with Home Shield was not that good. It was my first time in the years that I was with the service that I called to do a claim. The door handle on my microwave was hanging. So, I called and I said, “Well, I need somebody to come in and fix this door.” The guy from JEA’s Appliance came and he said, “Well, you know, we cannot fix this door. I’m gonna report that they need to change the whole microwave because we cannot fix this door.” The next thing I know, Home Shield called me and said they’re not gonna change it because it had to be broken or fall off the door. I told them I don't wanna wait for that because it’s not safe. Somebody can get their hand on that handle and break it, and then there's gonna be an accident. They said, “Well, there’s nothing we can do.” I said, “Oh, okay.” So, we hang up.
Somebody called me later and said they could do something else. They could send another guy from another company. And by then, I was very upset because I couldn't believe what they told me. And I said, “I will explain to you guys that I don’t wanna wait for somebody to get the door in their hands and broken because if an accident happen, I have to sue you guys. I don’t wanna wait for that.” The same person told me, “There’s nothing we can do. The only thing we can do is offer you that another guy come and then let’s see what the other one say.” I said, “Well, what about he come out with the same thing?” He said, “Well, we’re still gonna wait that the door fell or broken.” I told him it’s a waste of time then and I asked him to cancel my policy. And that’s what happened.
I paid $75 for the guy to come and check, and they covered the $75 before the guy came, and it’s still my money is not refundable. I asked them if it’s not fixable and they did not do anything, why are they gonna keep my money. And they said, “Because that’s the policy.” I’m very unhappy with Home Shield because I've paid more than three years and a half and then when I called for a simple change, maybe a $200 microwave, they gave me hard time. I’m very disappointed. So, I talked to a co-worker and she has another insurance. I’m not working right now, but when I go back, she’s supposed to give me the phone number. I’m gonna get another insurance. My home is not that old, so I don’t need a lot of stuff. But just to be safe, I want to be covered by Home Shield. But I couldn’t believe the way they responded.

There was something stuck up in one of the washer's compartments, that was clogging and it wasn’t letting anything drain. I filed a service request online. I’m usually doing it from work, and it’s a lot easier. After I initially submitted, it was two days later at 8:30 in the morning that a tech came. He took apart what was clogged, and replaced the piece with a new piece that’s more recent so it won’t happen again and then explained what was wrong, what my daughter had put in there that shouldn’t have been put in there and how we can wash smaller things.
He was only out here for about 20 minutes to half an hour. That was very quick. The tech was very nice and a very patient guy. I didn't feel stupid asking him stuff. Everything’s great. My mom has a load of clothes in it now, and we haven’t had any problems with it. This is the first home that I’ve owned and American Home Shield was the best choice that I made because it takes the worry out if something goes wrong. I've been with AHS for 12 years and when I don't like something, they take care of it. So for example if the contractor comes and he does a terrible job, and obviously doesn’t wanna be here and talks down to me, I give AHS a call and let them know we don’t want those guys in our house anymore and if AHS can put them on the do-not list. And AHS always does. If I call and say, “Hey, they’re on the do-not list.” AHS would always say, “Okay. We’ll get another one.” So I like that about AHS, and I like that it’s quick.
It’s always the same in terms of AHS getting it right. So it’s not like, “Oh, gosh. They got it wrong. They charged my card and we told you guys that we canceled the appointment.” If we canceled the appointment, we don’t have to check our bank account and say, “Oh, they charged us." They are always willing to work with us. Even though the price went up drastically and doubled we still saved. My husband was with the plumber the entire time. He unclogged the plumbing, did a good job and left. He didn’t chastise, while some contractors need to chastise you.

After I filed a claim for my refrigerator, the contractor came out really quickly. He was very professional and I liked him a lot. He decided that it couldn't be repaired and had it replaced with a new one. And I was able to get the new refrigerator in about two days, which wasn't long at all. My husband was there to receive the refrigerator and I was at work. He signed for it, and I read something which didn't sound very nice on one of the papers that the contractor left with us. It said something about not doing something extra and that I needed to sign for everything, which I didn't understand that. When I tried to call AHS, all I got was the automatic system. Other than that, my experience with them has been good.

The ice maker was broken on the refrigerator and Buster’s Appliance fixed it. The technicians were excellent. They had to come back after ordering a part, but it did not take very long. It was just about three or four days. It was a very good experience. Everything is doing fine with American Home Shield. I've been with them since September and I've been really pleased.

I had an appliance issue and everything went okay with my claim on it. I thought my dryer was broken because it's not drying, but the contractor from Surfside said it wasn't. But he did fine with the washing machine, and he was very nice and very helpful. I've had Home Shield for years, and they've changed a lot of their policies from good to bad. I'm not planning on renewing next year.
Home Shield should not outsource to people that can't understand English. They were foreign. I speak another language, so it's not that I am prejudiced. Home Shield had some kind of a special about cleaning out the dryer vents. They couldn't understand English, they kept cancelling appointments, and I never had the vents cleaned out. I don't like the outsourcing at all and the policy where I can't pay the people that come in. When I called, they said I could still give the money to the technician. When I tried to give it to Surfside, they would not take it and said, "We can't take it." American Home Shield said I could do it, so I have a way to check now.
I paid Home Shield, but I don't like to pay by credit card. There's no way I could pay it. I liked it when they had the option. Now, I did have a thing where I paid these people when they said I didn't. But I had the cancellation tracked, so it was not a problem for me. But I really like paying the $75 to the technician. Another thing is, when I was up for renewal, people called me and they offered me some kind of a program. Nobody really cares anymore whether you renew or not. I guess they spent all their money on TV ads now, so they don't need to worry about the customers.
I apologize for the inconvenience we have caused you Joann. My name is Stacy & I will contact you to make sure your issue is resolved.

The pool pump was broken and water was squirting out all over the place, and all the water was draining out of the pool and the spa. It was a big deal so we had to turn everything off. I filed a claim to American Home Shield and they sent out Brent’s Pool Repair. They took care of everything and everything worked out great. They had to replace a filter thing and the actual pool pump too, because that was what was doing the horrible sound, which sounded like a nuclear explosion. They came two days in a row because the big giant blow-up happened after the first day, and then the water was squirting all over the second day. They had a total of two visits, and they repaired it beautifully. American Home Shield has been great for me. Every time I’ve needed them, they've sent good people. That was why we pay them and like them.

Making claims with American Home Shield is pretty easy, but sometimes, they generalize the problem. When I say, “Hey, I have this problem,” they don’t give the full information to the people they send out. It’s hard to communicate with them on the phone because it’s a call center overseas. They don’t seem to understand what I’m saying a lot of the times. When you call in an issue, the people receiving the call should really understand what it is. And if it’s not covered, they should tell you right then instead of making you pay $75, then somebody comes out and just leave and don’t do anything.
One of the plumbing companies is not allowed in my house anymore, because he came in, saw the problem and went to his truck. Said he’d be right back and never came back, then wrote a false report with American Home Shield. Today, I’m waiting on another plumber to come out, and hopefully this one doesn’t run out the door. But Hopwood was great. They came here, we told them what the problem was and within a few minutes, they fixed the issue.

I joined American Home Shield around October 2019, and we have submitted three claims. It took me a minute to figure it out that I needed to do it seemingly online. And once I figured it out, it was easy to do. It was a little bit confusing, however, when we had to call their contractor back for our toilet. The guy from Lone Star said that if we would have any problem, the repair is guaranteed for two months. He said I could call them back but make sure to do it before the two months is up, otherwise, I would have to pay again. And I had to call them back because I was still having problems. It was over the holiday, and when I finally got a hold of them, they told me I had to go back to American Home Shield. I tried to do it on the computer but you couldn’t find there like if the contractor had come already and you’re in the report. So then, I just read between the lines to find a number to call. So, that was not real easy, but I did it.
The same guy was sent out and he said maybe he missed what he needed to do the first time because his foot was bothering him. But he was really nice, and the toilet is fixed now. He showed it to me and what he did was an easy fix. It would be nice, though, if they can make it one call and it’s fixed. On our first claim, the contractor brought out a garbage disposal that wasn’t the correct size, so we had to wait a couple of days. If they think that they’re gonna have to replace the garbage disposal, it might be helpful to ask what kind I have so that they would have it when they come. The only person who didn’t have to come back was the guy who did the electrical when there was something wrong with our dryer. He fixed it with no problem.
We do apologize it may have been a tough time with the online feature, however we are pleased to know your issue was handled. Thank you for sharing your experience and providing feedback. We take pride in knowing our consumers were handled. Thank you.

American Home Shield is really a nice company. They always do everything quickly. When I call, they always take my request really quickly too. The process of submitting a claim with them is good. They sent Big Al's recently and everything went okay with the claim. However, AHS has to send some plumber. They're supposed to fix the water by the sink because every time I turn on the garbage disposal, the water goes on the other sink. It wasn’t like that before. When I used the garbage disposal, the water would go in the dishwasher. A tech came to fix the hose and he was a really nice guy. I think he can fix the issue, but he said he cannot and my insurance has to send somebody else. He said he's gonna send the request to AHS, but it’s been a week and I've never heard from anybody from them. We already paid the $100 fee so we don’t have to pay again because it’s supposed to be a follow-up.

My first repair with AHS was for the microwave oven, which was not very favorable. After I placed the call, I had to wait to make an appointment for the vendor to come in another week. Then they had to come out, take the microwave apart and order the parts. Then another week went by. It took close to three weeks before they had everything finished. I wrote online that I didn't see any reason why the parts couldn't be FedExed. The vendor told me that AHS wouldn't pay.
However, the call I made for the plumbing worked out very well. When I submitted the claim, AHS gave me the time frame when the contractor would call. Aladdin's Plumbing came out and they were professional and answered all my questions. There was a leak in the back of the toilet and the tech had to replace a pipe and a valve. He had the parts on the truck so there was not a problem.

We fought it and they sent a second guy from another company at not charge who said nothing like the first one yet home shield continued to say the original issue was the issue. Very dissatisfied with the communication on the claim. Chat tech was kind and authorized a refund of the money spent on these false claims. The company feels like a scammer.

For seven months that I've been American Home Shield, the contractors that they've sent out were not all satisfactory. Sometimes, you don't get the right contractor or the right skill set. To be honest, the pool timer issue cost me two claims and it shouldn't have been. The first time I called in five months ago, I told the guy the pool timer keeps changing the time. And he insisted, "Oh, no, no. There is nothing wrong with it." And he did whatever he did to get the air out of the system, which is not a big deal. I could've done that myself. And then, I just left it the way it is. When I submitted a request this time, I was hoping I won't get Competition Pools again, and I got Alex Pool Services, which was better. I was happy it's at least a different person. He called me the very next morning and we agreed on the time, which was the following day, and he was here on time. He replaced the pool timer and it's working now. He's good and I'm satisfied.

The claim for my heater went really well. The thermostat of the upstairs one wasn't kicking the system on. When the tech came, he couldn't find anything wrong with it but he thought I was eligible to get a new thermostat through PG&E for free. He had the guy come over and put in two new thermostats and two new blowers for my furnace, and one other deal.
When one of my water heaters blew up and had to be fixed, it wasn't long after that the other one went out. When I put a claim in, I put it in for two water heaters. But the tech said that he wasn't told that the claim was for two so he could only look at one that day. I had to call in to put an appointment in for the second one and I had to pay that $75 twice.

The way the system is now, if you don’t buy something from a particular dealer or company, they won’t service it. With a warranty, I don’t have to worry about that. My washer made all kinds of noises when it brought in water and when I called AHS and spoke to someone, I was very pleased. The technician from Apex explained everything and showed me the part that was messed up as well. However, I asked the company for a copy of what was charged, how long it took, what was replaced and I have yet to receive it. I didn’t sign anything and nothing was left with me. The other companies I've dealt with left me with something.
Still, I've had AHS for five years and I’m very pleased with the service. There’s never an issue and I know they don’t want anything negative on their records, so they’re going to do their job versus me calling American Home Shield having a complaint. That's a plus for me. When we got confused with the time they told to come and do the service, I called the company. I told them what’s what and the rep said they're gonna take care of it.

The upstairs bathroom toilet wasn't filling up so I filed a claim to American Home Shield. The tech from Kenbridge Plumbing and Drain Cleaning Co that came out was on time and was very professional. He told my husband what he did and everything is performing fine now. That experience was great! But there have been bad experiences that I've had since we've had the plan. We've had to replace the whole new air conditioner because they said that certain parts were not covered. They had one person come out and said the parts were covered, then they had someone else come out and said the parts were not covered.
Generally, American Home Shield's service is great. If you're having some small problems like garbage disposal or toilets not working, they're fine. But anything big, they're not okay. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I don't even go through them. I go ahead and call somebody out and ask them to go ahead. It's because when I paid them $100 to come out and fix, I know that it's not gonna be covered. They'd find a way not to cover it. I'm still waiting for American Home Shield right now to reimburse me for fixing an air conditioner for the parts that they said they would pay. That was almost two years ago. Their customer service basically said to me that they don't handle that. They said they'd get it to a supervisor, but the supervisor never called back. You couldn't be mad at the customer service rep because they were just doing what they were told to do.
It has been about two years since we got an air conditioning. We had one of the units that went out and they covered that. There were parts that we even called an independent person out there. They called American Home Shield and told them exactly what was going on and AHS would say they'd come in. We sent the bill in where they were supposed to cover the part, but we never heard from them. We never received a check or reimbursement. There was even a time that we did have a toilet that didn't work in the bathroom. There was something that went on with it. AHS said that because something happened, we were responsible for it. And so, I have replaced that whole new toilet in the bathroom, and my home is only four years old. The paperwork is vague. It's not something that is on there that says it's not covered and instead of fighting with American Home Shield, we just went ahead and paid for the toilet to be replaced.

I go online and request service on AHS's website which is very good to me in terms of user-friendliness. AHS usually tells me who the contractor is gonna be and that contractor would then contact me within 24 hours of me submitting my request. Sometimes, they contact me on the same day I filed the claim. The techs have always been professional and make sure the work is done the way it's supposed to. Also, I have 30 days to call them back for the same issue at no extra cost.
I had a spa issue one time and AHS sent MJMM to handle the claim and they were very good. They had me send a picture of the equipment so that they could see what kind of equipment I had before coming out. They did that so that they could try to come out with the proper replacement part. However, there was so many pieces to my equipment that they decided to come out in person and check it out. I needed a new motor and they replaced what I had. Things have been absolutely perfect since then. With AHS, everything in my contract is always adhered to.

I just purchased a home and I've had American Home Shield for a month now. They have a recognizable name which everybody has heard of, but, more importantly, their coverage is phenomenal compared to a couple of different providers I looked at. I don’t have issues with submitting a claim but I had issues with getting it enacted. It took a long time for me to get the policy activated, at least two weeks after I closed on the house. I couldn’t access stuff and it was a long time enough that I started **. But it was fine once they fixed it. Everybody was nice and helpful.
Aim High came out for an electric issue and everything was fixed. I was happy with it. I even got his card to do some rewiring work that’s not a warranty issue. I would recommend the guy. I also had someone come out because the garage door openers don’t work. The guy was accusatory and said, “Oh, I find it interesting that you just got this warranty, and all of a sudden, both of your garage door openers don’t work.” I said, “Dude, I just closed on the house. I bought this policy because of the coverage. What do you think a freaking policy is for?” But it’s just a bender. And he never fixed them. He was supposed to go and get some little part that would fix them and put it in but he never did. He filed some weird report like I’m scamming the company. It was very weird but I wasn’t worried about it. So, the garage door opener was not fixed and I had to deal with that again.
Even though I've been critical about one contractor, every party that goes out to a house is a different person. It was the guy's fault and not American Home Shield’s fault. While there was a glitch in getting my policy set up, I’d still buy the policy over any other. Other than that, I have no issues with American Home Shield and I would recommend them too.

I’ve been with American Home Shield for 10 years and with one exception, they’ve always had very courteous and professional people whose interest was fixing the problem that I called them for. They asked if I had any other thing in their practice area that I wanted them to look at when they were here and they tried to do as much as they could. They also answered questions and made suggestions to how to prevent this from happening again. Their system is prompt on getting the recommended service tech to come out, plus it gives me an option and contact information if I need to talk to them and explain what’s going on. With this one, they gave me the plumber, whom I called them and told them what the problem was and what brand of faucet I had so that they could bring the parts that might be needed for that faucet. It saves a lot of multiple trips when I can do that.
The plumber from Plumb & Order didn't have to remove the cultured marble surround that goes around my Whirlpool bathtub although I thought he was gonna have to. I have no idea how he was able to do it but he completed the repair and removed the blockage from one of the waterlines that froze the valves. I couldn’t turn the hot water on, and I didn't wanna take a cold water Whirlpool bath. The tub had not been used in probably 15 years and so, after he got it where it ran some water out, a bunch of crud came out. But he did a great job and I was very pleased with him.

It was right at the holiday season, so it took a few days for the company to come out. Still, the guy came in and did what he was supposed to do. On the way out, when he got through with the first trip, he said he had to order a part for the icemaker. I said okay. After that, he said when he would be back and that took a little time. He did come back when he said though. Now, everything is good.

When you push on the button on the little control panel of the microwave, it fell back into the microwave. It just pushed back like it was out of its bracket. I submitted a claim online and the website was easy to navigate. They told me who the contractor was and said he would contact me that day. The tech from Better Baker Appliance Repair did a great job. He was fast, splendid and he knew what he was doing. He had called me and asked me what was going on with the microwave. And he ordered the part before he even make the trip. He had the pieces. Evidently, this happens a lot when somebody happens to push the button a bit too hard. It has a little really small clips holding the panel in place and they break real easy.
I've been with American Home Shield since we bought the house back in 2017. I just knew about them. I heard about them. I have some friends that did use them and said they were good. My experience was fine. As soon as the tech got the part in, he called me to set up an appointment, he came in and he fixed it. He was in and out in no time.
