    I'm very happy with the AC repair. American Home Shield's contractors were very professional. They immediately went upstairs and worked on the unit, and before I knew it, it was fixed. The last time I repaired another unit, it cost several hundred dollars. So, the value from American Home Shield to me having to pay for it is definitely a huge improvement. They also respond fairly quickly, and I'm very pleased with that.

    AHS is the first warranty I had ever had and used. I’ve had it for probably 20 years and every time I’ve had a claim, it had been handled efficiently for the most part. When the entire mainline plumbing was blocked up, the contractor they sent did a wonderful job. I was scheduled rapidly and shortly after he arrived, the issue was solved. I was very pleased.

    We have a washing machine which is pretty new. One time it worked and then the next time, it didn't. The issue came up on a weekend and I called Home Shield and left a message. They got back with me immediately and the company who they were referring me to got back with me the next morning. The contractor came out almost immediately. He got the washing machine working but not fixed. Then they ordered a new part. He came back a week later to put in the new part and it worked perfectly since.

    The whole experience was very positive. Home Shield was given to me as part of buying the house. I've had it numerous times but I've never used it. If my whole furnace blew out, I would've done it. But I decided, it's 100 bucks for a service call and that's the minimum. Then I saw their bill. It was about 375 excluding the first service call so I paid 50 bucks. I was pretty happy.

    I have my house now for a year and since then, it has American Home Shield in it. When my heater or the air wasn’t blowing heat, I called this in and the representative I spoke with was very professional. I was given a timeline when the contractor was coming and gonna be here, which was very helpful. The technician who came was very informative and educated about the air system. He resolved the issue that I wanted him to resolve, so it went well. He changed model. Everything has been working very fine since then.

    The dishwasher had not been functioning fully, and then it was not pumping out entirely so the water was still sitting in the base of it. The young man that was here went about his business, and he fixed it. He was very polite. He talked with us and gave us some hints on what we might do in the future. So he did very well. I’ve appreciated having AHS in my life. I’ve had a couple of issues that came up over the time that I’ve been here, and they have responded very quickly. One had to do with an electrical issue, and another time, there was a garage door issue. The providers of service would not have been known to me, but they were always very competent people.

    American Home Shield has been real convenient for us and they get everything done for us. I submit my claims over the phone, which works for me. I like to talk to somebody. ‘Cause sometimes I’d rather speak to them as opposed to trying to type it in the computer for some of the issues that we had and it’s better that way. I had a claim where DMB Plumbing was sent out and they they had to come back for a second one because of the location of the items that they had to fix and to try to get the parts. They were great and did good service for us.

    The heating of my central air and heat stopped working and I claimed through the American Home Shield company. I used their website and the process went well. The site is user-friendly and I'm pleased with it. After hitting the different icons of what my issue is, if it's a new or an old claim, it immediately responds by saying that it's been accepted. Then, I get an email saying that it's been responded to. Within just a few minutes, I got an email or text that says that the contractor is gonna contact me within 24 hours. They sent J & J Mechanical and they were responsive and considerate. They've done well so far and since they're not completed yet, they're coming back to finish up the job.

    After changing from what I had, American Home Shield has been my warranty for at least 2 years now. My experience with them had been good and I haven’t had any problems, so I renewed. In my last claim, I had a plumbing issue and Drain Go came out. It went very well. They did it and did it fast, which was important ‘cause I didn’t have any hot water. They were also nice guys and they cleaned up after themselves.

    When we bought our house, American Home Shield was a rollover warranty. We were grandfathered into a specific one, and then we continued to update it because we used it and it was effective. We’ve had it for three years. We had issues with the refrigerator around the electrical and some leaking as well. I did the claim online and I was told that I would receive a call or receive an update within 24 hours. The contractor, Express Appliance Services, was very professional and nice. They had to come out a few different times and order some parts as they reviewed it but they were helpful, very positive and great to work with. They even took the time to explain to me what the issues were. The experience wasn’t too bad. It took a little longer but that was just part of it. It was over the holidays, so it wasn’t terrible.

    We have 2 thermostats in the house so we have kind of a dual zone and it’s electronic. When we would adjust the heat downstairs, no matter what we did to the heat upstairs, the damper was stuck wide open. All of the heat was blowing into the FROG. It’d be like 85 degrees in the FROG and 67 degrees downstairs. We called American Home Shield, and they sent Comfort First out to see us. They came and diagnosed what was wrong with the unit, which was what we suspected. They said it was probably gonna be something that was gonna be covered but they had to order a part. Then they called us and said the part was in and asked when did we wanna schedule the work. I set it up for the next day. They came out that day and got up in the attic. It was the electronic damper, so they replaced that.

    American Home Shield has been awesome and the two guys that came out to the house were incredible. They noticed some other things too. We have a Nest thermostat and when we reset the system, they don’t automatically go to what unit we have. We have to change the Wi-Fi over for the new Wi-Fi that we got. The two thermostats were set for a non-heat pump system. They showed me how to change it too and make sure that it’s a heat pump system. They gave us so much information on how the thermostats and zones work. As far as heating and cooling companies go, at least those two guys that came out to work on our house, they were some of the best guys that I’ve had to deal with.

    I was with another company and I didn't like the way they covered the situation. They wanted to send me a check and I had to pay for something. I got a good word from someone who works in the business that American Home Shield is good to their customers and good to pay without trying to avoid it. So I canceled with the other company and went with American Home Shield. I've been with American Home Shield for a couple of years.

    I've had a couple of troubles with the air conditioner. But they came right out and it was two different guys that worked on it. The first one did a good job. Then the other one came out and he was trying to fix it. He said the compressor went out so they ordered me a new one and put it in. Since then, it's been working great. I like the services from Home Shield. It just seems a little bit expensive unless something big happens. Paying them $50 something a month is quite a bit of money every year but one bad thing that happens can use up every bit of that and this air conditioner issue out here may have done it. A compressor is really expensive.

    My daughter's air conditioner also went out. I told her that she needed a protection for refrigerator, freezer, air conditioning system and other appliances she has. If she could get a contract like that with AHS, she wouldn't have a big huge payment all at once and pay it out as she goes. Then maybe she'll never use it but if she does, it's there.

    The first claim that I had with AHS was for the doorbell, and that was not fixed properly. When the guy left, the doorbell was hanging. It had not been properly secured to the wall. But I ended up just going and buying a Wi-Fi doorbell and took care of it myself. But submitting a claim to AHS is easy. The reps are all very professional, and they take care of the problem. The contractors that came for my hot water recently were professional. They came and did what they said they would do and did it.

    When my dryer quit heating, I called American Home Shield and Affordable Appliance came out. I was very pleased with the individual who came out. Sometimes the claims take a little too damn long but this one was actually very prompt. He had to order parts, which took around four days. But it was a dryer. It wasn't critical. We can always do a laundromat. If it had been the home furnace, that might've been an issue. This morning, it was five degrees outside where I'm at. Sometimes, it takes some days to get parts and it's kinda hard to live that long. American Home Shield needs to prioritize some items when they affect people in a big way like that.

    I have an account with American Home Shield for a couple of years now and I recommend them all the time. I go online when submitting claims and I didn’t have any problem with it. Most of the contractors are pretty good. They had one that I wasn’t all that impressed with. But AHS is fine. When there was a leak in the sink there at the house, Long Lane Home Services came out and they fixed it. They replaced the faucet and lines.

    I had an outlet that kept blowing that my freezer was on. Submitting the claim to American Home Shield was very easy and their customer service was very good. The tech from Specialty Services came out and replaced the outlet. He also told me that the issue is probably because I have the garage and both bathrooms on the same circuit. I wish, however, that AHS had better phone service or better lines. I need to work with them on replacing my microwave and it would be nice if I didn’t have to find out who would know about that -- it would be like their department would be listed on their website. Anybody considering a home warranty product should know the pricing options because I did not realize until this year how many different options there were. So, they should make a point of not taking the first option and work with the rep to find the best one.

    I bought my home up here in 2016 and I’ve had AHS since I bought the home. I had bought a new refrigerator from Sears and within a couple of months, the compressor went out and someone came to fix it. Then, it broke again and another guy came out. He fixed it and it’s been working since. I also had a claim for my washer that quit working. They came and did some troubleshooting to see if they could fix it but it couldn’t be fixed and the part no longer existed. American Home Shield contacted me about a washer replacement and the rep was very knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. The whole experience was very positive and good.

    Their customer service is very helpful and knowledgeable. But I live in the Hill Country of Texas and it takes some time to get people out here. My air conditioning went out a couple of summers ago and they came out for that but that took a week. And July with no air conditioning was pretty miserable. If Home Shield has more people in this area or place to really expedite to get people out here sooner, that would really be great.

    I had a drain that was severely backing up from my washer and was filling my floor through the floor drain with water. Discount Contractors came out and they cleared the drain. I was satisfied. I submitted the claim online, and I was disappointed in that experience because when you submit your claim online, immediately, something pops up in the form of a video or suggestion, as far as you as the homeowner, to try to fix it yourself. I did not like that because if I could fix it myself, I would not have been submitting the claim to American Home Shield.

    Nevertheless, the problem was very well-managed. The contractor let me know when they were coming, when they were on their way, and when they were 10 minutes away in. And they arrived and they were very respectful, professional and cordial. They took their shoes off at the door, too. Since they have been out, the drain is still clear, and I can wash clothes. Everything has been working pretty good. I appreciate that technician because I had two experiences. The first guy with the company was in a rush, and he told me had a bad back and that I had to move the washing machine away from the wall. So, I started moving things and he grabbed the washer and broke the foot on the washing machine. And then he said he had fixed the problem, but the problem was not fixed.

    That was why the second crew had to come out, and I was very satisfied with what the guys did when they came back out. They have what they needed, they were well-organized, and they communicated well. One of the most important things to me is when a homeowner has a problem and somebody comes to fix it, the homeowner knows their appliance, sometimes, better than the person who is going to fix it. So they can give a description of the symptoms of what they see because the problem may show up in one spot. They were willing to listen at my explanation and they had patience, and I appreciated that.

    Several of my claims with AHS have been very disappointing, but the rekeying was fantastic. So far, that's my best experience with them. One time, B-Dependable Plumbing was sent to my home. I paid them a $75 service fee and the man told me that the project that I had wasn’t covered. He recommended something to fix the problem, which I didn’t find to be very reasonable. I thought he was just trying to get more money out of me.

    Then, I had another plumber come. He replaced a cartridge in a bathtub faucet, which he did really well. Then he looked at my kitchen faucet, which was so hard to turn, there was obviously something wrong with it. But he told me that that was normal. I’ve been around for quite a long time now and I’ve never seen a faucet that was that stiff to turn. Within the last couple of days, he was back out to my house. I didn’t have to pay a second charge because the same faucet had a problem. He came and had to replace an O-ring in it. I’m finding that when I call the agent sometimes has a little trouble understanding and communicating. And the people that are sent out act like it’s a bother, and they don’t wanna cover it.

    I've got two policies with American Home Shield now. I've had one for about three years and the other one is just about a year old. I do have one other warranty that I use on a different house and it seems to offer similar coverage at a lower price. There hasn't been anything major, but I've been reasonably happy with the service from Home Shield. They seem to have decent technicians that come out whenever anything has been wrong. I had a guy from Northwest Sundance who did a really good job. He was in and out in just a couple of hours and fixed three different problems while I was here.

    I usually submit claims over the phone. I wanna make sure that the particular problem is something that's gonna be covered before I pay the $100 fee. So I usually go over that with somebody on the phone first. I did one just a few days ago. I've got a dryer that's about ready to give up the ghost. It's still working but it's making some terrible noise. I was told that if I had paid the $100, they would've just come out and said that it was still drying clothes, so until it would stop completely they wouldn't do anything.

    My daughter is in Texas and she told me about American Home Shield. She said that she really liked the service, I got them, and so have I. I call and tell them I need something or that something's not working, and they get a hold of the right company and then they come out and make the appointment for me. Day's Appliance is very nice and I've had one young man twice. He was too sweet and how he explained things to me was really great. He explained why it was not working right, why this happened, and he showed me how it's been leaking.     We thought that we only had a problem with the air conditioning not cooling, but the issue that the tech found would have also affected our heat. Once the weather cooled down, we would've not had heat. So he found the problem quickly which helped us to avoid making a secondary call for heating issues. Everything was very professional.

    We've had American Home Shield since October of 2017. So far, the expense of the items that we would have had to pay out of pocket is not very attractive when you think of major appliances or household things. So the monthly fee is satisfactory. We have had very good success. We’ve not been dissatisfied with any of our claims. It’s been very convenient. Everything has been quick.     My washing machine broke 3 weeks ago. I called AHS and before I could even talk to anyone, they wanted my deductible. I paid it and started the process for repair. It took 3 days until he could come. The person they sent stated it needed to be replaced. However he "forgot" to upload his report so I had to wait an additional 6 days until he uploaded. It then took 3 days to hear from their purchasing department so I could select my new washing machine. The company they contracted with couldn't deliver it for 9 more days. They arrived today and stated they could not install it because the valves were bad and that the original repairman should have noticed and reported it.

    I called AHS and explained this to them and was hung up on the first time. I called back again and was told I needed to start a new work order, pay another deductible, and then they would send someone to see if it really did need replacing. I told them never mind, I'd pay for a plumber on my own and that once my washing machine was delivered, I would be canceling their service. Throughout this process I have spoke to them via chat or phone 6 times. They were always polite, apologetic but never actually helped. I've paid over $1250 (monthly payments and deductible) and waited almost 3 weeks and I still don't have a new washing machine.

    I called American Home Shield to verify if the issue I was having with my cooktop was a covered repair. After the agent confirmed it was, I set up the appointment for the technician to come out to service my appliance. The repair ended up being denied and I wasted the $75 service call fee. I called back to AHS and was unable to get past the customer service department. I was told the decision was final and the agents would not let me speak to a manager or anyone else in authority. I have never dealt with a more terrible company. I will not be renewing this service. Buyer beware!

    I've had the warranty for about 7 months now, have made 4 service calls. Each time they come out, they are horrible to schedule with, and they send repair people who are not thorough and just want to high ball you. With each time, AHS somehow finds a loophole to tell me that I'm not covered, but of course I'm more than welcome to pay for the repairs myself after I've wasted $75 for a service call for them to help me with nothing. This is what they do, they will try every single excuse they can to avoid having to actually fix anything. When I call customer service, the customer service reps are unhelpful and they keep you on a loop reading off their script while avoiding answering any of the questions I am asking. I have not had ONE SINGLE TIME where they have helped me or where I was satisfied with my service. They are a complete ripoff, and I would recommend that anyone who is considering working with them to reconsider their options.

    We placed a dishwasher claim on 12/17. Today is 1/23 and I still do not have a working dishwasher. Every time I call AHS it’s like starting over....the notes of previous calls are not always entered. I have asked multiple times to speak to a manager and get nowhere. Was told I can either talk to the resolution team who is not a manager or request a manager call back which could take 48 hours but not both. What kind of customer experience is that?! They state they work in a timely manner but over 30 days with no resolution in sight for a dishwasher is not timely. AHS says they will call back with status updates and no one calls back. Very disappointed in AHS!

    On several occasions, my experience with front line customer service representatives has been as frustrating as any customer service contact I have ever had. Most representatives barely speak and comprehend English. They do not know how to listen and are consistently talking over you. It seems that they are reading scripted responses that are supposed to be the best fit for each question I ask. When in fact they are not answering my question at all. When I try to correct them, they continue to speak over me and read their scripted questions.

    It is obvious the representatives are young and very inexperienced when it comes to communication skills. Then there are the times my calls are answered in a call center in the Philippines. There are several different numbers you can call to reach customer service, just don’t ask anyone in the Philippines if they know the number for a call center in the U.S. All of my phone experiences have been far from resembling anything remotely professional, let alone a natural conversation.

    I had an electric switch that wasn’t working properly. The guy took that off and there was a loose wire inside there, and he replaced that. Then the ceiling fan downstairs in the family room had a burned-out modular. Also, the motor was blown up with the one upstairs. He fixed everything and he was trying to get me a new ceiling fan for upstairs in the dining room. But then he called a couple of days later and told me that AHS didn't cover it.

    I feel pretty good about American Home Shield with all of the experiences I’ve had with them through the 15 years. There were some things that I didn’t agree upon like when they replaced the air conditioner outside which was not big enough for this house when it went out. It looked just like the one I had, so it didn’t cool the house off like it was supposed to. My upstairs stays very hot. Downstairs is cold ‘cause the basement part is sort of on the underground. Even the contractor told me that. That was why my electricity bill was so high because in the summertime when it was really hot, it constantly run and it didn’t cut itself off like it was supposed to. That was just been a little nuisance for me. But I haven’t had any problems with the contractors that came out and do the work.

    A technician came out on the 9th for the washing machine and at this point, the issue is a month old and still isn’t resolved. I’m still waiting on a part. I called a couple of weeks ago and AHS was supposed to get ahold of Sears, but I never heard back from them. I called Sears and heard that the part was on backorder and it could take another 21 business days. You’re talking about a washing machine and it’s kind of important to get it done.

    When my garbage disposal was leaking, the tech from Plumbers Inc. was supposed to be here between 8:00 and 12:00. I had things I needed to do. But there was an update that it would be between 9:00 and 10:00, and then between 10:00 and 11:00. Finally, he got here at around 1:30. He called when he was on his way though. He was very courteous, assessed the issue quickly, and determined that a new garbage disposal was needed. He had one on his truck and he installed it. Everything was done efficiently and in a timely manner.

    My daughter and my son-in-law have had AHS for a couple of years and said that they haven't had any issues. AHS have replaced or fixed everything that went wrong. She told me I need to get something because something's gonna break down one day so I did. And it turned out that AHS as well as the contractor they sent, Mr. Appliance of East Texas, were great. I didn't have any problems. They came out within four days for the refrigerator. The tech looked at it and thought he could probably fix this and that and left. And then about 48 hours later he called and said no, that it wasn't fixable and that they'd send me a deal saying what they thought the refrigerator was worth and their recommendation. But if I wanted anything else, AHS could pay for an upgrade.

    After we did all that, it was a week later and we just then got our refrigerator -- no taxes and no delivery charge. We went with their recommendation and it didn't cost us not one penny. We got a side-by-side, stainless steel with the ice on the outside and it's kinda like the one we had, and for free. They've been exactly what was said, just really, really good. I was shocked.

    I've been with Home Shield for about nine years and they have treated me good. I can't find anyone else to do the work, the quality and the customer service like that. I did have a little argument with them but then we cleared it out. I usually pay $75 for the service call and they never charged taxes for it.     AHS communication and turnaround were decent. I was told a rep would contact me within 24 hours. Then a contractor called and he'd be out. Two different techs came out for my dishwasher. The first one came out, assessed the situation and ordered the part. However, he didn't order all the parts, so it took a long time to get my dishwasher fixed. Then the person who came out with the ordered part was able to jerry-rig stuff and make it happen. He was awesome.

    Then there was a problem in the toilet's tank. There was a weird device in there that had a broken wire. The plumber came out and replaced it with something more basic. I think the $75 charge is a lot. For the couple little, teeny things I’ve had fixed, I could’ve purchased the item and fixed them myself for the $75. But I’m glad that I purchased AHS.

    I lost the hot water heater and American Home Shield got Van Allen out here. They did an excellent job and they handled the claim very well. I’ve never had any difficulty in submitting claims. All you do is you either call them up or you can contact them online. Then AHS contacts you and tells you which contractor is going to get ahold of you, or you can call the contractor and everything is good to go. In 24 hours the contractor will contact you -- I’ve never had anybody that took longer than 24 hours to do that. I’ve had a couple of experiences with this warranty company and everything has always gone well.

    I noticed that on the outside unit, it was nothing but ice, solid ice. I called it in and it was fine when I spoke with the AHS representative. I kinda figured the contractor would be busy, with the Christmas holiday in, so it took them a couple of days to get there. They had to order a part. The defrost board burned up and apparently, that was a pretty normal thing as far as I’ve researched. But since then, the part that they came to fix was perfectly fine. That part was corrected. They figured out pretty quickly what the problem was and they fixed it. It was a couple of days longer than I wanted it to be but that’s life.

    The other part is something that AHS was not gonna fix because it was pre-existing. It was wired incorrectly and basically, what was going on is that someone had it to where my emergency heat was pretty much always on. It’s a small house. It doesn’t matter. I got a buddy of mine who does HVAC and he’s rewiring the whole thing. It’s being taken care of. It was a decent experience with AHS. They covered what I needed to be covered.

    Capital Control Systems came out to our home. The last time, it was for heating and it was a mistake on our part.     My AHS claim for a plumbing issue went great. The guy from Red Dragon Plumbing came out, fixed the plumbing issue and was on his way in less than an hour, and I was able to go back to work. It got to the point to where it was getting tired, but somebody stuck with it and just did what he had to do. He kept a professional head, even though it was getting annoying. I would recommend them to anybody. He gave me some knowledge how to go around it if I run into that situation again. But overall, it was a great experience. I like that I don't have to call and wait and hit different numbers, so submitting claims online is preferred. It may not be for the older crowd because they like to talk to people. But if it's something as simple as what it is, you just file and pay your $75, have the people come, fix the problem and keep it moving. It saves a lot of time.

    We were having intermittent issues with the furnace not turning on when you adjust the temperature. When it's turned to where the heat should just come on automatically, it wouldn’t. So, sometimes you have to just turn it off and turn it on again. It wasn't doing that while the technician from R Harris A/C & Heating was here to check it. So, we weren’t exactly able to diagnose what it was. The technician said it was possible the circuit board could be starting to go out. He was informational and told us just to keep an eye on it and if we needed him out again, that he would look at it further. We liked him. We had a great time with R Harris A/C & Heating. Since the repair, I think it’s mostly coming on automatically but it’s not acting up very much.

    This is my fourth year with American Home Shield, since 2016. Everything went fine with the online transaction. My husband just went online and requested the AC guy. It was easy. AHS was expensive and I wasn't gonna renew. But since I'm a Realtor for Coldwell Banker who sponsors American Shield, I was given a discount, so I kept American Home Shield.

    Our first request was with a company called Plumb Genius and I would not recommend them. It seemed like the contractor didn't wanna be at our house to address the issue. He was very short. He was looking for a plumbing cleanout in our backyard, for example, and he just kicked around some dirt with his foot then he said he couldn't find it and that he couldn't do his job. He went back to his truck and closed out the ticket before we even had a chance to talk about it or to look further for the plumbing cleanout.

    By the time he had come back inside, he said he had already closed it out and that we would have to get someone else to do this job or he could install what we needed for an extra $1,000. I reported that to American Home Shield and they got a second – On Time Plumbing. They were responsive and very professional. They actually listened and worked with me, and we found the issue. We found the plumbing cleanout in our backyard together and they were able to address the issue right then and there. It's just that one contractor I wouldn't recommend – Plumb Genius. But American Home Shield overall has been real good. Submitting a claim is fairly straightforward. You do it online. They have a app and you just click through some options and tell them what's going on. Generally, within 24 to 48 hours, someone is able to be at your door.

    We’ve had American Home Shield for over 20 years in all of our properties. Before they even start talking to you, they want a credit card or debit card to charge your payment before someone comes out. We had an AC issue and Kasinger Mechanical couldn't find anything wrong with it. We didn’t know what happened. We tried for two days to make it work but wouldn’t do anything. The guy who came out went upstairs and had my husband turn it on downstairs. We paid 82.50 for nothing.

    We set up a call. After we paid before Kasinger came out, AHS sent us a bill. This is the second time this year that I’ve gotten a bill and something I already paid for and had to call and be on the phone with them forever for them to realize that I paid it. It happened the same thing with my washer. When the washer guy came out, he also looked at the dishwasher. He called after he got back to the office saying that he forgot to collect the money from me. I said that I already prepaid it. He said that people don't do that. I told him that the payment has already gone through immediately as soon as I gave my number to American Home Shield. They charged it. In the end, AHS said to get copies and send the files to them. I told them that I wouldn't do that and it was on my Discover card. Also, I cannot stand if they outsource people that I can hardly understand them especially when trying to explain to them exactly what's going on.

    However, I like the thought of if something goes wrong, especially air conditioner and heater, I’m pretty much assured that they're going to do what they need to do to get it working. In the last two years, every time it comes up for renewal in June or July, we always thought of going to do this because they take out a lot, close to 1,200 a year or about almost $100 a month. Also, we usually ask for the same people ‘cause we live in a rural area so we know who’s reputable and who’s not. They're pretty good to work with, but sometimes you have to push the fact. Although we’ve had things broke that could not be fixed and so they replaced them, which is a great thing. It certainly isn't as good a company as it used to be.

    I did a claim with American Home Shield when the thermostat on the heater was bad and shorted the wiring out. I just logged on online and had the claim submitted within five minutes. It was easy. The contractor called me within 10 minutes and told me they had an appointment within the hour. They came right out and replaced the wiring and the thermostat. And it was excellent. With American Home Shield, I have peace of mind knowing that I don’t have to worry about stuff.     After filing my plumbing claim with AHS, someone came out really quickly. However, right now I have an issue with the furnace and there's a person who is not taking care of it. I've called two weeks ago and they're still not doing it. I have to pay out of pocket and I have no choice now. The tenant went to complain to the management company that he was getting sick and went to the ER because the heater was not working. The management then told me that this has become a legal issue.

    The repair guy ordered a part and has it. He keeps scheduling with the tenant and doesn't show up for over two weeks now. And when I called AHS, they said, "I'm so sorry. We'll talk to them." They keep calling the guy who says that he'd be there tomorrow. They know he is giving them a runaround. But they're not doing anything about it. I've been calling and calling and I don't know what else to do. And it seems like my call is routed to someone overseas and they don't understand.

    I got American Home Shield in July of 2018 when we bought the house. The Realtor paid for it the first year and I extended it the second year. There were two problems.     The oven thermostat or the sensor kept running up. It would be cold then it would be hot, then it would be cold then it would be hot again. Fidelity Appliances Service came out and they were fabulous. The tech knew right away what the problem was. He had the parts and he fixed the oven in less than an hour.     There was water dripping from the air conditioner vents in the middle of the winter, so I called American Home Warranty. The claims representative I dealt with was okay. She told me who would be coming and then the contractor called me. My husband said the contractor was great. He went up there and looked at everything. He really liked him. We, however, still have a problem because it dripped the other day. My daughter was sitting on the couch and she said something just dripped on her. I said, “You’ve got to be kidding me. Why is there water coming from the air condition ducts in the ceiling in the dead of winter?”

    Also, my first issue with their contractor was the hot water heater that broke during the first week we moved into this house. The guy said we needed this and that and it went close to over 1,500. I said that he had to be kidding me. He said it needed new piping and I felt that should have been covered. So, I did not have him do it and had a contractor outside come. Then there was another issue with my bathroom faucet and I told them I didn’t want that same plumber out. AHS said they couldn’t guarantee it. There was another issue with a gas heater out on the back porch as it was not working, and they said that wasn’t covered.

    When the freezer had frost all over it and the refrigerator section had water on the shelves, I filed the claim online. When the website says refrigerator, it says something stupid, like it's working and it's not. I had to do "other" because I couldn't list what was wrong with the refrigerator. You only get an option and don't get to comment. I'd like to see the website improved so that a comment section is available so you can say what the issue is so that the contractor doesn't show up blind. Also, I have two accounts with AHS and every time I try to go in, I have to figure out which address I'm at.

    When the contractor, Ron, called me to set up the appointment, I told him the issue. He is great. He's been assigned to me before and he has been very helpful. He texts me to let me know when he's going to be there, or when he had a result. I was trying to meet him and he called me and waited for me to arrive. It took him two seconds to figure out what we had to do. He told me that somebody probably had left the freezer open at one time, which allowed it all to start freezing up. He told me I had to unplug it for 24 hours and plug it back in so it could self-defrost itself and it'd be fine.

    The technician who came out was quite knowledgeable and courteous. He was on time as well. When he opened the electrical portion of the washing machine, the sensor that’s in there had come loose. And so, it wasn’t able to sense that the machine was full at whatever point. He just stuck it back in. In the middle of the sensor, there’s a rubber hose and he put it back in and explained to me how it worked.

    I’ve had American Home Shield for years and I’m satisfied with them. Most of the time I call in and the customer service is quite knowledgeable at what I’m asking instead of me trying to find it in my little sheet. They let me know whether it’s covered or not, which is important. And the service cost is great. I’ve seen some that were quite higher than what American Home Shield charges.

    Where do I start? I called on Jan 15th to inquire about the service. I decided to give it a try. I was told I would get charged my monthly due a month from that day. They then charged me 680. I called about that and it took them for ever to figure it out. They then said they would refund me and it will go back to normal. I log into my online account and then it said I was past due. I called again (4th) time and was told it just needed time to adjust. They promised it would be fine. I logged in the next day and it then said pending.

    I called again to ask them if I was going to get charged. They said, no. It was only pending for February. Well guess what? I was charged. Called again and I was put on hold for 30 min so I hung up, called back (at this point frustrated) and the next rep hung up on me. After my 5th call in one day I finally got a hold of a team lead who helped me cancel and refund. I can only imagine the headache when putting in for a service. By far the worst customer service experience ever, and I work in the CS industry! I’m glad to be done with this and I never even got really started. I would never recommend this company!     Been with American Home Shield for 2-3 years, have had a few things repairing without issue until we had to have our water heater replaced. Then the problems started. AHShield haggled a contractor that didn't know our my city's local codes. The contractor wanted to add insignificant upgrades that are NOT need for the repair to be done. I checked with local city codes and we are total up to code.

    Wanted to add expansion chamber. NOT need. We have a pop off valve. Wanted to add bracing that we already have. NOT needed. Want to add plumbing and additional labor that was not needed to the sum of $800 additional dollars???? NOT needed. I talked to some at corporate office and they would NOT do the repairs unless I agreed to additional increase. I told them the additions are NOT needed based on local codes of my city. They AMHShield refused to do repairs unless I agreed to additional cost. I told them that I might have a issue with mold if they do not fix, they didn't care. I told them to just repair water heater ONLY! No additional items. They refused. The contractor was 1.5hrs away and out of my area? They refused.

    I pay my deductibles and all are on time, I begged with contact through AMHShield and they flat out refused me. Told me they would do a pay out. Ok fine, but I'd have to have a license contractor install and send them the invoice, are you serious???? Then they would reimburse me. So now I am contacting the BBB and the Dept of insurance. This is totally absurd, just want water heater replaced ONLY, BUT THEY REFUSE. Why pay for a service only to find out additional needed "upgrades" parent covered, Do NOT USE the company.     Had AHS warranty from 2005-2020 on a residence in NC that had become a rental home after we moved to the West Coast in 2006. Nothing but deflection from these guys on any issues we had with HVAC or otherwise. Pay attention to the details on what is covered because unless specifically listed, they don't care. Also, when issues arise, expect that they will send someone out who ensures no claims come against AHS. That was our experience when our AC quit and AHS found every reason they could to not cover anything to help. Isn't the point of home warranty to help when disaster strikes? The cherry on top is the $50 fee they hit us with when we sold the house and wanted to cancel our coverage. I suppose being a customer for 15 years means nothing. I wouldn't choose this business again, and I would suggest others consider another home warranty solution.

    Requested service for a shower valve 12/29/19. AHS sent out a repair company who couldn't do the repair. They then sent it to another repair company who said they could repair it but needed to order parts and they should have them within a week. That was on 1/6/20. After repeated calls to the plumber, that were not returned, and to AHS, I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told me that they contacted the plumber and parts would arrive by 1/22/20. Talked to the plumber and they said they told AHS the parts would be in by 1/27/20. Called to speak to an AHS supervisor and the person said "AGAIN?" and hung up on me. Now been without a shower for nearly a month. Won't be renewing a home warranty with AHS again.

    We contacted Home Shield a week and half before Thanksgiving 2019. Our stove completely stopped working. They sent out an electrician who determined it was not electrical issues. The whole unit would need to be replaced. They refused to replace the stove/oven and said they could fix it. Meanwhile I did not have a stove/oven for Thanksgiving nor Christmas. It is now the end of January 2020 and I still do not have a fully functional stove/oven. I am very frustrated with this company and will never recommend them to anyone.

I claim to A H Shield and then Provider change version telling that they fix it in the first visit and then this is another different service to collect. The necessary service always was to replace Cartridges in two faucets and they NEVER DID. The provider told A H shield that the second "new service" will be replacing a handle broken, but it is not true because it doesn't cause leak and besides it is very cheap and very easy to replace it, only one screw that was made by us in 5 minutes and it is already done. It doesn't need to be repaired.

    SUMMARY: The problem was ALWAYS TO replace cartridges in two faucets. NOT DONE YET. Provider justifying TO intent collect a second payment for replacing a handle that it is not necessary and it is already done by us. Customer service receive my claims -Hortensia and Janet- were very rude. Didn't understand anything and not help to solve the problem that remains UNSOLVED. I am thinking to cancel contract with A H Shield and solve directly the problem with a technician contacted directly by myself. Repeat the service was extremely bad, bad, bad. Julio ** Ph **.

    We have had a contract with AHS for more than three years with ZERO service requests until today (but continuing to pay higher premiums). Our gas furnace that heats most of the house is not working at all; it’s 35 degrees outside and 60 degrees right now in the house. AHS’s idea of an acceptable response to an urgent issue is sending someone within 24 hours. We are scheduled for tomorrow. Seriously. I would NOT recommend using this company.

    When purchasing my home we requested that the sellers buy the home warranty plan from American Home Shield. The sellers paid $600 and I’m sorry we required this of them. A total waste of money. Two months after moving in a tankless water heater stopped working and another caused a rupture in the plumbing. It took multiple visits by rude service people hired by AHS to decide that the water heaters had a pre-existing condition and the repair wasn’t covered. What’s worse, the plumbers who spent so much time in my home would not return to do the repairs/replacement even at my own cost, and after they said they would. They didn’t show up after several attempts. They wasted almost two months during which I did not have hot water. I had to find my own plumber who got everyone efficiently. What a waste of time and money dealing with AHS.

    Ever since we moved in, the sink had been backing up constantly. American Home Shield's contractor had been through a couple of times to snake it but he ended up doing like a hot water blast and getting a whole bunch of grease and gunk to come through. It was like candle wax, paraffin and baking grease. He said it's possible that someone, the previous owners, deliberately poured it down there spitefully. It seemed intentional. But it has been fine since the repair. The contractors were great.

    I'm very disappointed with my service with American Homes Shield. My heat went out 1/8/20. I called and request service. It's 1/23/20 and no results. My home feels like a deep freezer. I spoke with a representative the first day I called. She informed me that if they couldn't get a technician to come out, I could find my own. Needless to say, I did. The company notify AHS, they had nothing on file of what the lady told me. They finally got in touch with a technician that's 3 and a half hours away from me. I've been calling like clockwork. One representative told me she's looking at the weather in my area and it's not that cold. The nerve of her. I'm so disgusted. The weather here is 27 degrees tonight. I'm so over AHS.     The service is great. Both American Home Shield and their techs are easy to get along with. We use American Home Shield on some of our rental properties too. We're in a good service area because there's a lot of work and a lot of technicians. We had a real pinch back in December when we had a bad clog. My daughter and I were trying to clean that thing out and we tried for two days. On the third day, I made a phone call to them and they had to find somebody else because the person that they preferred was booked up so bad and they couldn't get to me Monday. But then Long Lane came that same day, and we spent some time together now. This wasn't a simple clog. It was messing up a lot of stuff. The tech pulled the toilet and he got the clog out from main so that was really good. He was a real good guy. He knew what he was doing. He's been doing it for a long time.

    American Home Shield sent someone out right away from Plumbers Inc. and the repairman was wonderful. We told him what the problem was then he went to the kitchen sink and he knew right what it was. He went back out to his truck and got the tools and came back in and showed us what was wrong, how the dishwasher, when it emptied, it came out through the air gap instead of draining into the sink. He fixed that immediately, didn’t take him any time at all, and that was really great. He knew exactly what he’d been doing. I was very pleased with the company that AHS picked out this time.

    Now we're having a problem again with something under the sink. We're trying to determine if the leak is coming from the pipes but it looks like it’s in the grout. The grout is old now, it’s pulling away from the wall and it’s drying out and cracking so we put a pan under the sink and it catches the water. We discussed this with the guy. He said to make sure we get a good grout man that works with granite because I have granite on the countertop and right behind the faucet. All that time that the water was draining incorrectly out of the dishwasher and going behind the faucet, it was probably eating the grout away. I need to find a man then I’ll be able to determine whether I need some more help on the piping underneath. I’ve hesitated to call American Home Shield back because I don’t think they fix the pipes underneath when there’s a problem with it. But I should probably call them up again just in case the grouting doesn’t get the job done.

    I had a bad experience a couple of years ago with another plumbing company, but American Home took care of it. They located another plumber to come back and fix the hot water heater that the first company forgot to connect but yet wouldn't come back the next day. They were a bad company. I was glad AHS got rid of them.

    I haven’t quite decided if I should renew my policy in March, but I thought this experience was a good time to happen so I could know before I renew. I was so pleased with the staff and the quick response, and I was very happy with American Shield responding immediately and answered the phone. I didn’t have to wait two hours anymore. I felt that they made a huge improvement in that. I hope it happens like that next time. I had a property manager trying to manage the call for me and I felt bad for them because at least I had a speaker phone and I was able to go about my business and wait a couple of hours for AHS to answer, but it was absolutely horrendous before. I’ve been with AHS for about four years now. I have just hung in there because I’m on a fixed income and I don’t know how to fix anything. They’re maybe the best of all the other home protection services.

    One side of the house had no power and we couldn't figure out what it was. We tried an outlet, there were several outlets out. The first guy from McMillan Construction came out. My renter was there and he told the renter that it was beyond him and that he'd have to make an appointment with the owner or someone else who had more expertise in that matter. So, we made an appointment for the next couple of days. Two guys came out and they did a wonderful job. They had a tracer and they found out what the issue was. One of the outlets between the refrigerator and the microwave had melted and it caused the rest of them to go out. So, they changed everything. My renter was very happy.

    I was ecstatic because a lot of times with American Home Shield, they would fix things but they would want extra cash. I had a condenser go out of my own air conditioner and they fixed it, but I had to pay them $1,500, supposedly 500 for a permit that they never got, and different things to upgrade the system. It was in the middle of summer and it was like 110 here. At least I got somebody that will fix it. So I went ahead and paid the extra money. That has happened to me a few times, but all in all, I've gotten the problem resolved. Home Shield should have a handle on these extra charges. Other than that, it's all done in the computer now, so they're pretty responsive.

    We had two plumbing services come out. The first person just came and ripped off some sealant which made it worse. He said that there was nothing wrong with it and left. The second guy was very thorough. He was looking everywhere for the leaking and did a great job. Now, we’re having massive amounts of rain that are coming through the pipes. He fixed what he could see and they were wonderful.

    I’ve had American Home Shield for many years at our old house and our new house. For a while, I was dealing and getting calls from India and it was very poor communication. It’s very frustrating when you’re trying to communicate with somebody that does not speak English very well. Then they get upset with you when you ask to speak with someone who I can understand because sometimes it’s hard for me to hear on the phone. But I got somebody from America that could understand my concerns. He addressed my issues and he was very good.

    American Home Shield is a good company. If you have someone that comes out and not satisfied with, they’ll make sure that they send someone that does the job right. The ease of the claim process is really good. But if it's on a weekend or an emergency, you really can't get service. But as far as them following up and all that, they do a really good job.

    The guy from Rap's Heating & AC came out on time, and everything was good with my claim. I just had to call them back something simple. When he changed one of the things that were leaking, I couldn't get the knob in my shower to turn. I couldn't get it hot and I had to take a shower. But that was a simple fix and he was very nice and professional. He gave me a heads-up on the timeframe. He told me to call back if my shower continues to drip because I had like a 30 or 60-day from what he did to it. He was very honest. He said, "I'm not sure if this is gonna fix it or if there may be more work that will need to be involved with it." He told me to kinda keep an eye on it and get back to him even within that timeframe. He said it might need something more expensive. It's still dripping occasionally, so I'm trying to keep an eye on it.

    Now, the second time he come back out was just to do a little adjustment with the handle so I could get it to turn farther so the water would get hotter for a shower. I've had American Home Shield maybe two years. I changed from the other company that initially came with the house. I kept them for a while and then had some issues when they came out to do some work. One was in the hot summer on an air conditioner. It was gonna be over a week and a half before they even would send anybody. We didn't have any air and so, I called my cousin to come put a little Freon in it so we could have a little bit of cool air. But because he done that, they wouldn't even service it and charged me the fee just to come out.

    On the first time I've ever used them, I was pleased with the guy that they sent out, but they keep going up on it. It started out about in the $40, and now I'm up to like 60-something, close to 70, and I do an automatic draft. And that was the first time I had ever used it in these two years, and I'm like, "So why you all keep going up? I mean, I'm not even using it." And so, I'm looking around and see if I see any that has the same coverage. I can't keep paying it and it keep going up. If I were using it, it would be different.

    When submitting claims, it's easier to call. The rep I spoke with when I did the claim was nice and helpful. We talked about the cost outside of what I needed them to come for. I had two faucets, a toilet, and a shower leak, and that was why she thought maybe it was a plumbing. I said, "Am I gonna be charged for each item that he has to look at?" And she said I would not. She actually waived my $100 fee because I was fussing about them going up on the rates.

    I'm very pleased with my recent claim with AHS. It was wonderful. The guy notified me ahead of time that he was on his way and he arrived on time. He explained that the toilet was plugged with toilet tissue and other things down there and that I would be charged a fee of $175. He said that he had to let me know about that in advance. Then he did the snake and the toilet was cleared. I didn't have to pay anything extra as well. He was very professional and I really appreciated him.

    I've been with AHS for a little over a year. You can call them and they will answer. I wasn't as happy with my microwave claim. It went out and I had to wait a long time. That process was quite different than what I had imagined. But as a whole, I'm pleased with AHS. I will end up spending more money going outside if I didn't have a home warranty.

    We lost heat on the first floor that came out of the heat pump. The guy from E&J Heating and Cooling came out and he was very professional and excellent. However he couldn't fix that. Terminix was under the house prior to that and they had wrecked some ducts under there and they didn't tell anybody. So, Terminix came out and fixed it afterwards.     After submitting a claim to American Home Shield, it takes them either that day or the next day for a contractor to come out. I submitted one online, where Pride AC and Heating came out to work on a heating unit. They repaired it in November, and then the issue came back up again in December. I had them come out and they came back out, and then it still was not fixed. So, they had to come back out a week later. But each and every time, they had been extremely nice. The people at that particular heating and air conditioning company that you guys used were so great. They worked with me knowing that it was with a tenant. I ask them to go through her to set the appointments and they always did that. Then they always sent me the information along with her.     In my recent claim regarding HTG, Rosenthal Heating and AC was sent. I liked the way they stayed in communication. They sent me an email and they also sent me a text. Then, the guy called when he was on his way. When he showed up, he was really good and polite. He tested everything and said that he needed to order parts. He came back two days later and installed it.

    However, I’m very frustrated with American Home Shield because they usually send out piece of crap companies. I’ve already cancelled before and then they talked with me. I said that I'd give them one more shot but if they kept sending all these crappy contractors that don’t wanna do anything, I’m gonna yank all my five properties insured from them. I don’t understand why every year, I have to tell them which contractors to put on my “do not call” list. It’s like they change the contract number every year and I gotta start over from scratch. Then, they'd send the crappy ones again if I'd go on the automated. I gotta spend time going on the phone just so I don’t get stuck with the crappy one.

    American Home Shield also charges us right away. Then, if that contractor didn’t show up, AHS would send somebody else out, and AHS would charge again. I was charged three times before I actually got one contractor out to look at one of my rentals. It took me a year and a half to get it all reimbursed and it was a hassle trying to get reimbursed. It’s supposed to be one fee, not each time they come out. It’s ridiculous how they do things. It used to be where I could just click on it to have it paid when they show up.

    Last year, I finally insured my own home. They double-did one of my other addresses. By the time that they got the address all screwed up, four months went by. My house policy is gonna be renewed shortly and I lost four months’ worth because I can't put a claim in as it doesn’t have my address. I’ve been having nothing but problems and it’s like their service has gone downhill from when I first got it. Also, how come they don’t have where you can send an email to somebody to contact them? On their website, it’s gotten for the contact. But then, when you try to get it, they just give the phone number right where you get stuck back to square one.

    The contractors sent by AHS have all been good and I really haven’t had any issues about the quality of their work except for one time when I had an issue with a ceiling fan. AHS' website specifically said that ceiling fans are covered so I paid the $125 fee to have them come out here. The technician came out and said that American Home Shield doesn’t cover electrical which I thought was a bit misleading. I contacted American Home Shield and said that I want my $125 service fee back. If I would've known, I would never have scheduled the appointment. That took three months of back and forth, but they eventually provided me with a refund of that service fee. They should expressly state that they don’t cover electrical on their website so that people wouldn’t pay the money and have the technicians come out.

    My heat went out and I could smell something. It was the section that was inside the house. I have a split system and it was the heat pump. It was the first problem I’ve had and American Home Shield took care of it, and it couldn’t have gone better. Honesty Mechanical was sent out and everything went very well. When the tech came, he quickly diagnosed the problem and found the trouble almost immediately. He had to get a new fan motor for the unit but he didn’t have one available so he had to get one and come back, but did a very nice job. Everything works perfectly now and I really appreciate it. Also, communication through the process was very good and couldn’t have been better. Having American Home Shield, I like the feeling that when I have a problem, it would be taken care of. And that means a good bit to me, especially at my age.

    Having American Home Shield, I like being able to just call and at least get a response for anything that's internally wrong with the house. It's a disappointment, however, that they don't cover anything outside the house. I have some electrical issues, like a plug on the outside of the wall and a floodlight that don't work, and I am a little annoyed that they don't cover that. I figured, if it's part of the home, it should be covered. Also, around three years ago, I had a heating problem and American Home Shield refused to replace the Nest thermostat. That's why I was pleasantly surprised that, on our most recent heating claim, they replaced the thermostat with a Nest one.

    Honesty Mechanical came out for the claim and they were on time. They said it would be anywhere from 8:00 to noon, and the tech gave me a call 30 minutes before their arrival. They had to crawl underneath the house to diagnose the problem, and then they ordered the new thermostat. When they got it, they called and said they would be out anywhere from noon to 6:00, and gave me a half an hour warning. They then replaced the thermostat, and everything was fine.

    We had heating problems after a power outage and American Home Shield worked really good getting somebody out to my house. The guy that came was fantastic, and fixed it right away. It was that cold and I warmed up very fast. It wasn’t the same day that he fixed it only because of the weather that was going on and really bad accidents, so he wasn’t able to make it up here the same day. But I totally understood, and I okayed it. He did make it up as fast as he could providing that he did everything he could to get here when he could, but issues happened. I love American Home Shield.     The reps at American Home Shield answered right away when I called in for a claim. The garbage disposal was jammed and there was a leak underneath the sink, and submitting the claim was a pretty simple process. They take your credit card number, tell you who the contractor is and give you the phone number just in case, but the contractor calls you. If they don’t call you right away, you have the phone number to call them, but they did call right away, so it wasn’t a problem. In fact, the tech got me right away. The initial call was right before Christmas and it was kind of a busy time of the year, but he came out right away. He even called and said he was running a little early, which is a nice thing. So, I’m very happy with them. To me, to get people that are on time, fix the problem and are nice are my three important criteria, and they checked all those boxes. I have no complaints.

    Klostermann Electric came out for outlets that weren't working and the stove that had an issue. When I called the appliance company, they said it could be an electrical issue, so I had Klostermann Electric look at that. The issues are all fixed now and the outlets and stove still work.     The only thing with AHS is that every time I called, they switched me to one thing to another, and they just kept disconnecting me, and I could never get through. I've called three times and it happened every time. It was very frustrating. They should get people on the phone that know what they're doing. But the contractors they sent were good. We had a guy come out and deal with our garbage disposal. My mom really liked him. The guy with the washing machine was nice as well. He had to order a part. Then he got the part and installed it in less than an hour, and he was out of here.

    The hot water heater was kaput. American Home Shield handled it fantastically because it only cost me $300 as opposed to 1,500 or $2,000. The plumber that they have on contract is fantastic, and I just called them for non-warranty issue today because I thought it was so good. He got me in the next day, and he came out and he saw it, and then he had to order the part. He didn’t even do any work on the hot water heater. He said, “No, it’s definitely broken. There's water leaking at the bottom of it.” And it took him about two days to get the part in and he came back and put it in. It took him an hour maybe to take it out and replace it.

    The claim submission process with AHS was very easy. With AHS, you pay a little bit more, but it’s been a lot better than a lot of home warranties. I've had them for about two years now, and my only complaint is that when the plumber called me to tell me what was and wasn’t covered. AHS is supposed to reach out and tell me what my coverage is. The plumber ended up telling me what he could do and how much it was gonna cost, which was fine. AHS never reached out. They didn’t even leave a message. I didn’t even have any missed calls.

    When we had a leak coming from our garbage disposal, we needed to have it assessed. I called AHS on a weekend and I was told when to expect a phone call from the contractor, but not when to expect them. I was told to give them one or two business days once Monday hits. The guy was very early. He walked me through what he was looking at and what went wrong. He then ran to Lowe’s, picked the garbage disposal up and came back to put it in.     A couple of weeks ago I filed a plumbing claim. When I turned the water tap on, the water came out underneath the sink. But when I turned the water tap off, the water leakage stopped. I waited for the contractor for a week. Then when he came, he took a look, and he said the whole thing was broken and needed to be replaced. My deductible was 75. Then, he said he was gonna call AHS. Later, he told me that I have to pay out of my own pocket. I asked if we were talking about 100 and he said that he didn't know yet. He also said that he had to talk to AHS again, but he needed my consent first. I said if it was 100, I think it was reasonable. He came back quickly and when he showed up, he already had the equipment ready. He fixed the faucet and tested it. And it was around 80. I also file a claim for a rekey and it was a very good experience as well.

    The microwave wouldn’t turn on. The tech came out and he checked it. He was very professional and very clean. He found out that there was a fuse that had blown and that was what was causing it. He went several times to make sure there wasn’t something else wrong because that seemed so simple. But that fuse, it was in there, had blown, and that’s what needed to be replaced. And I haven’t had any problems with this since then. He was good. We've had Home Shield since 2005 and we continue to renew with them because it works. There was a couple of times that we needed them back-to-back two or three times. So it pays for itself. I didn’t have any problem with most of Home Shield's vendors. They’re usually very aware of what you need as far as time is concerned.

    I've had American Home Shield for about seven years. Every time I contact them, I've never had any problems. They use good folks to work for them. When I had an appliance issue, Express Appliance Service came out. That claim went great. It was easy to set up an appointment with them.     I started a service work order on 2 appliances approx 1 month ago. A American Home Shield - AHS CSR/Associate created a work order for my dryer and did what they call an add on for the refrigerator (both on one work order - they have to do a second appliance as a add on I was told by the AHS Associate). The contractor/vendor: Prudent Mechanical has yet to complete the work order.

    They have either not shown for their scheduled appointment(s), shown 4 to 5 hours outside of their scheduled appt time, had to reschedule due to it being outside the original scheduled appt., shown without tools to do their initial diagnosis, ordered the wrong part when it needed a different part to fix the problem, the service tech argued with the homeowner as to not having the complete work order dispatch information (i.e., only had the dispatch for the dryer and not the refrigerator), would not call their office to follow up on complete work order dispatch and would not look at the add on refrigerator (not limited to this).

    On a repeat service call from Prudent Mechanical, the service tech again argued with homeowner as to the add on refrigerator and would not diagnosis the problem, he simply took cell pictures of the model and water lying on floor and stated this was a maintenance problem. Have made several calls to vendor/contractor secretary Sonja. She never has any info and never seems to knows anything. I have left messages for owner Akin, who will not return calls either . Dates can be provided if needed. As far a American Home Shield, I have called them on 1/6,1/10, 1/14, 1/16, 1/20, 1/21 and 1/22/2020 (I am sure I missed a date or 2). Spoken to numerous AHS Associates trying to come to some resolution in this matter and have gotten nowhere. I always get a different AHS Associate and a different story with unhelpful advice.

    It is very frustrating having to repeated the story every time and no one seems to be able to assist you. On almost all those dates the AHS Associate would reach out to the vendor/contract secretary Sonja, to be told she could not assist them but would get info and call them back (which she did not) or the AMS Associate got the vendor/contractors vm and had to leave a message for a call back (which they never got).

    My phone conversation 1/16 with a AHS Associate in detailed the diagnosis they were given for the refrigerator was, it was a maintenance issue. The AHS Associate said this was an unacceptable diagnosis for AHS so the AHS Associate was requesting a formal diagnosis from the vendor/contractor and that I should call back in two days to see if AHS ever got that from the vendor/contractor. I was also advised and if the vendor/contractor had not responded at that time AHS would send my case to their Contract Relations department for possible escalation and I could request a new vendor/contractor and a new work order could be set up.

    I actually waited until 1/20 to give additional time for AHS to follow up on this. When I called AHS on 1/20 I was told I had to personally request this be sent to Contract Relations and their was nothing the AHS Associate could do at that time to escalate the process. The AHS Associate sent an email to Contract Relations and said I should hear something in 24 hours and that there was nothing they could do for me. I did not receive a call back in 24 hours. I have been told up to this point there were no other departments or management personnel I could speak to or email.

    When I called on 1/21 I again was told it was in Contract Relations and their was nothing they could do and that I needed to be patient. Then when I stood my ground, I was advised at this time they do have supervisors. So I requested a called back from a supervisor (of course I did not get one) and I was told they would send a follow up email to the Contract Relations to see if they would escalate this. I called back again today 1/22 to be told I still can not request a different vendor/contractor to be assigned but they would again follow up with the original vendor/contractor for more info...

    "PLEASE" HELP! How much more patient can I be! I am paying for a warranty which I have had going on the second year and this is the first time I have attempted to use it to no avail. My kitchen wood floor is being ruined by the water leaking from the refrigerator which I am going to hold both AHS and the vendor/contractual responsible and I am paying an unnecessary expense to use a laundry mat to dry my close because the original part ordered was wrong. To date I have no appointments set up to complete the work on the dryer and refrigerator by the vendor/contractor. Also, there is a lot more information that goes along with this issue I have not provided that can be supplied if needed.

    Mid January, Friday 10, called AHS. Mechanic was sent to look at it. He came out on Monday the thirteenth replaced the blower motor. Furnace started making loud noises that fill the house. Call AHS again on January 15th. AHS said that the repair guy said the furnace was in good condition but could use a cleaning. We called our mechanic who came out on Thursday January 16th and he gave a thorough cleaning and informed us that it need a inductor motor replace. Friday the 17th the unit quit working, so called AHS and informed them it had quit. They told us that they would notify the mechanic they sent out originally. Saturday AHS called and said the mechanic would be out on Monday January 20th.

    January 20th AHS mechanic came in the afternoon. Fiddled with furnace. Said we need a part. He started the furnace. It worked until just after he left. As he was leaving he told me he had put in a parts order to AHS. Today is Wednesday January 22. I have called AHS 4 times for a update on the part. This morning I called AHS and was told that they just received the order for the part and have yet to order it. Was also informed that it would take up to 7 days for the part.

    They offered 120.00 for a hotel room for a night. Then offered to reimburse for the purchase of two space heaters. So I did a check on the repair guy AHS sent to my home Amazing Comfort LLC in Hampton VA. I looked up the name of the company through DPOR the governing licensing board in Virginia. I did not see any license for Amazing Comfort. I also checked Google for Amazing Comfort. The only reference on Google for this company (Amazing Comfort), is a bad review on the BBB website. So what any intelligent person would assume is " Who are these repair people AHS is sending to my home, and why are they not vetted better?

    Wednesday January 22nd. It has been 12 days since AHS sent out Amazing Comfort LLC to repair the furnace and now say that it will be up to (maybe?) another 7 days for the part to arrive. Today I called the repairman who had cleaned the furnace and asked if he could take a look at the furnace. He sent out a repair guy in less than 2 hours had the replacement part installed and furnace working. Thank you AC PLUS!!! I am a licensed real estate agent and in meetings we sometimes have AHS representatives come in and explain how beneficial it is for our home sellers and buyers to buy AHS products. I know next time an AHS salesperson comes to sell us I will be relating this ordeal with all those present.

    I heard about Home Shield from a family member and then I got involved in it. They've been very responsive and they've done everything to my expectations. I've also recommended it to a lot of my friends. I've used them twice in the last three years and recently, I've had a claim for my stove. It is a gas stove but in order to turn on the oven, I have to press the button. But the electronic portion of it was out and none of the clocks work. So my top burners would work but my oven wouldn't.

    I called American Shield and their reps were awesome. They sent Coastline Appliance and they were very friendly and nice.     When someone call in with a heat issue, people should should try to listen and be more pleasant. Whoever I was speaking to on the phone, from the first company, was very rude from the first phone call when she told me someone was gonna come out. When the guy came out, he said that I needed a part. He fixed the unit to where it would come on. He put the part on there that he had but before he could come back out, about a week later, the unit went out again. All this was in December. I called again and spoke to the lady of the first company. She scheduled me with almost two weeks’ wait for a senior tech to come back out.

    I called back in to Home Shield and I explained everything to her. I have nothing against American Home Shield. It’s the contractors that they deal with. American Home Shield needs to pick and choose what contractors they're gonna deal with, and listen to the consumers when they complain. The next day, the next company came out and that experience was very nice. The guy tried to rig the unit up again so we could have heat. But two parts were supposed to be put on at the same time. What he did didn’t work but I couldn’t get mad at him because he let me know what was going on. When the part came in, he came right back and put it on. He was very nice. When I called on the weekend though, one of Home Shield's representatives was very rude too so I waited until a Monday and called back.

    My drain line was leaking and still is leaking, but the plumbers said the issue was that the line was backed up. But then if the line is backed up, it’s gonna come out somewhere. But it’s still leaking. I didn’t call back American Home Shield because I don’t have the $75 to do another home visit. But I want them to replace the drain line that’s still leaking. So the issue is not resolved. This is my first claim and submitting the claim online was fairly easy. When the plumbers came out, they said they drained the line from outside of the house. But I don’t think it was because of the line was backed up. Every time I’ve used that washing machine and it goes to drain or spin, the water comes out behind the wall. I shoulda been more assertive to replace that drain line.

    If I try to do my claims online and need for the contractor to come back for a repeat, I’ll be charged another fee. So I have to call in so that if they need to dispatch within that warranty period, they will dispatch the same company and not try to charge me another dispatch fee. Recently my dryer wasn't heating and they sent A-Town within 24 hours. The contractor was knowledgeable and really seem like he knew what he was doing. So, I’m comfortable with that. The first day after the repair the dryer seem to work, but then when I washed and dried three days later it didn’t seem like it was drying because it took two cycles. But I wanna do it again just in case I had too many clothes or whatever elements may have impacted that.

    This is my second contract with AHS. I've been off and on with them for probably 10 years. Initially I had been frustrated with AHS but was just too lazy to go look for another company. First, my oven had been repaired by another contractor and then it didn’t work anymore. But that company, A-Town and the professionalism of the young lady that called me to schedule the appointment, the timeliness and the way they did exactly what they said, changed my perception. I said, “Okay, they have good contractors now.”

    The heat pump on warmer than normal days showed that it was running in auxiliary heat for a couple of hours. I field a claim online with American Home Shield. I like the website. And they gave us a 9:00 to 12:00 time frame for the contractors to come out. I was getting ready to contact them back because the heat pump is still doing it, but they said nothing is wrong and I’ve never seen a heat pump do that. It does it every now and then. But on cold days, it doesn’t even do it. So, that’s really weird. I’ve had AHS since September of ‘18 and my experience with them has always been great.

    I put a request in to American Home Shield for my bathroom toilet and they sent a plumber who was ill out. He couldn't do the service needed. He was friendly though and said that there was nobody else. He was calling his supervisor who was not answering his phone and said that there was no one else that he could call. I told him that if he was sick, he needed to go home.

    When I called AHS back, they couldn't accommodate me. So, I called a plumber and went out of pocket some $270 dollars. I went back to AHS asking them to reimburse me since they did not honor our agreement. They told me they had mailed me a check, but I never got that. It wasn't until Consumer Affairs got involved that they finally sent me the money. I have a lot of gripe with AHS but when I weigh it out, I'm better with them than without them. Still, I don't like that if I have an issue with them, I just go back and forth and they transfer me around. There's no one person I can talk to in order to resolve it.

    Bencraft Mechanical Services came out for our AC unit. They showed up within an hour of me submitting the claim. And so they were very expeditious in getting it all fixed, and it was fixed probably within three hours. One of the motors had burned up, so they had to remove and replace it.     The heating was making noise and there was no hot air, so I submitted a claim over the phone and the representative was wonderful. In a day or so, someone was scheduled to come out. The contractor Comfort First Heating was on time and they were professional. They did whatever was required. But then, some parts had to be ordered. It was around Thanksgiving and the tech said, “We'll do as soon as we can.” And they actually did before I even expected. I had some issue in the summertime with my air condition as well. I didn't know if it was normal procedure or what was going on, but it was really hot on those days and it took 2 weeks to get a part. A couple of times, they said, “I need different part, this part, that part.” I didn’t understand all those things, but it took a while. Other than that, everything is fine now.

    I had a recent claim that I submitted to AHS for my dryer in the building that I own. AHS sent Redeemed Heating & Cooling whom they have been sending since I've owned my building. I prefer them as they are an excellent company. I use their services personally for my house. They're very honest people and are good at what they do. For this claim, they tried to find the heating element for my dryer but could not. They turned the search for a replacement over to American Home Shield and they couldn't find one either so AHS is replacing the unit. However, their site doesn't let me select that my unit is the stackable washer-dryer type. It's confusing as the site only lets me select one or the other. AHS can't just replace one.

    I was with AHS years ago and then we didn’t renew for a while. We signed up again in September or August because they’re really responsive. When you call, they answer right away and they get somebody out here really quickly. I remember that from last time. I had a claim and they called me 10 minutes after I reported it.     The furnace was squealing when the fan would first start up. The online process of submitting and initiating the claim was awesome and super easy.     We’ve had several things that we’ve had repaired or replaced over the years and we’ve had a couple of experiences that weren’t so good either with the timing or the representative. Our claim for the pool component is probably the best experience as far as AHS quickly taking care of it. I filed the claim for the blower motor online and someone from ABNation came out very quickly. It was within two days at the most and the guy was very good. Everything works fine now. AHS made some major changes along the line somewhere and it certainly worked. The representative excellent and the response time and communication were much better.

    I had water running out from the bottom of the water heater unit. I called American Home Shield and they sent out Wright Way Plumbing. The guy that came out was very nice and he did a great job. The water heater itself was functioning correctly, but the problem was a pin-prick in the type of piping that was used to install it. With that little pin prick, it was spraying out water. The tech replaced all that piping so that I won’t have that problem in the future. I’m very satisfied with that experience. I would strongly recommend the professional job that they do. I would have them come back again. They were great.

    The dishwasher's panel where you put the soap in was broken. So, that had to be replaced. I called American Home Shield and the representatives were really good. They sent me an email that said who the contractor would be. It was during the holiday, so it took a couple weeks for the part to come in. But the contractors were efficient and called and said the part was in. They came in and installed it within a couple days. The dishwasher has been fine since then. I’m really pleased with American Home Shield. I was with another company and I was not pleased with them at all. A friend of mine told me about American Home Shield that she has and she was pleased with them.

    Clear South Water Solutions came out to replace the garbage disposal that stopped working completely. I called American Home Shield's customer service number and the live person I spoke to told me to expect the contractors out in 3 days from when I filed the claim. The reps are very good and they got into communication with the Clear Water company. Now, the garbage disposal is working fine and we are using it. Overall, American Home Shield's service was good and I had no issues. They had quick follow-up with the service and got it done on time.

    I had a hot water heater that needed to be replaced and the whole process went tremendously. Everything went really good with the claims rep that I talked to. The tech came out the next day to diagnose it and they had it fixed within a couple of days. It could’ve been fixed a day or so earlier, but I was not available. So the extra delay was not their fault. The tech was very knowledgeable and professional. He also cleaned up. It was one of my better experiences with Home Shield. We've had them for about 30 years through multiple houses. We used it a lot in the first few years, but I haven't had to use it too much in the last few years. It’s insurance, so we just kept it.

    I’ve had American Home Shield for six months now. We didn’t even know about them until my daughter told us about how they take care of her home. My experience with them has been perfect, so far. Every time I call, I wasn’t even put on hold. They took care of me right away. When the motor on our pool went out, Golden West came out originally, but it was as if they didn’t wanna catch the issue at all. I got a little upset with them, so I called American Home Shield back. They sent me All Solutions and they had it done within a few days. They replaced the motor to my pool. I’d love to have them back anytime.

    In December I reported my burner knobs had broken off. Been living with one working burner. A contractor came to my home. Told American Shield part of the issue is cleaning needs to be done under the burners. He also stated broken knobs need to be replaced, which he took photos of (I have them in hand). Never heard from him again. American Shield called him & he stated they are ordered; still never heard from him. A new rep. from American Shield stated the cleaning is not covered. I said I do not believe that is an issue for the burners not working. It is broken knobs. They sent a 2nd opinion. They are now refusing to even replace the broken knobs even though it was approved on the 1st opinion. The 2nd opinion stated I do not have them, when in fact he actually handed me one of them, which I put in the drawer with the others. Only solution on their part is to prove I have the knobs by sending out a third contractor.

    I asked if I could send them a photo, NOPE! I work & this will be the 3rd time I have to stay home for another opinion. In other words, a month ago the knobs were covered, now they are not, due to the fact the 2nd opinion stated I don't have them, which of course I do. I can't wait to see what the 3rd opinion brings around, while I sit here with one working burner.

    When I submitted the claim to American Home Shield, they responded that day. Then, Appliance Wizard was quick to come out to check my oven and dryer. The guy was great and he was able to get my dryer fixed. The oven, however, needs to be replaced. AHS responded quickly to get it replaced, but the problem with them is that they have more questions like the color and the measurements, so trying to get a hold of a person by phone was not possible. When I got through, the girl told me when would be the best time to call, like when they first open or when they first close. And I haven't called them back. Overall, we have called AHS out several times and they have been really great. If you don’t have to have things replaced and you just need to get them fixed, they are wonderful.

    I had a dryer claim with American Home Shield and it was fine. The contractor came out and changed a part. He was professional, courteous, and it didn't take him very long to get the dryer working. The dryer wasn't working at all and they got it going. So, it went well. I also had a water heater claim, and the vendor had to come out twice because they got the heat going, but then the fan wouldn't turn off. They had to come back and make an adjustment on the gauge, so that it would shut off automatically.

    I would recommend them giving me options on what they would cover and what they won't. I had an issue where the contractor came out and they gave me a quote to replace it and I had to spend a couple of thousand dollars out of pocket. I'm like, "Wait a second. I thought I had insurance." They said the insurance only covers X amount. What AHS should have done is give me options and said, "Look, the insurance covers this and this is what we could fix or replace. If you want a complete haul over, then you have to come out of pocket."

    I just said, "Just pay me out what it is and then I'll source out a vendor and get it fixed myself." And it took forever, but I finally got a check and I used that money to call someone on my own to come out and replace it at a reasonable price where I wasn't coming out of pocket much. But I was disappointed on that first quote when they came out. On that particular case, the experience was not good. I was upset. It was the first order that I placed, and I was very disappointed. I was ready to cancel my membership and move on just because I was so disappointed. But after that, I've had them come out for a couple of other things, and things have gone better.

    I've had AHS for a couple of years and everything I have had done had been done well and in a timely fashion. When my water heater was leaking, AHS sent out J H Gordon Plumbing. They came out on a Friday and it took them until Monday to get a new one. I think they had to wait until they got one in to do something. Then, they come back that Monday and did it.

    Dempsey Oil came out for a plumbing issue. The sink was leaking in the kitchen and then in the bathroom, the faucet in the tub was leaking. They fixed the leak under the sink but there’s still one side and it’s still leaking. The faucet is not working at all. My wife was taking a shower and when she turned it on the other day, the whole thing came out. So I called Dempsey but they told me that I have to call American Shield so they can issue the ticket for Dempsey.

    The first time I called American Home Shield was for an outside light and they told me the guy was gonna come. They charged $100 and the guy came but he said he couldn’t do it. He said that it was outside wiring and that it was not covered. I hope American Home Shield can improve that, like let us know before if somebody comes. We had another claim for the refrigeration and that was fixed. That was good. The technician came so many times then finally, American Home Shield sent the Sears repair company and they fixed it. The technician was good. He was professional and did a good job. Overall, I’m very satisfied.

    Everything was perfect with my claim regarding an electric issue. The contractor knew exactly what was wrong and they just attacked it, fixed it. In 10 minutes, it was done. I was very satisfied. I had American Home Shield since 2006 and they’re the best so far that I know. I never had any problem with American Home Shield. If there is something, they quickly correct it. Submitting a claim is fine too. At first, when you submit a claim, they did not required payment upfront. You pay it after the work was done, and then they changed to paying upfront, which is no problem anyway.

    Climate Masters came out for a heating issue. They told me that it’s a two-tier system and the way it works is that, if it goes under 30 something degrees, you have to put it on emergency and then the heat will come on upstairs. They made sure this is gonna work and they left. But we’re still having the same cold air coming out under 30 degrees, so they really didn’t fix it.

    American Home Shield's claims process is great, but you still have to pay $75 for them to come out, which was interesting. I paid $75 and they still didn’t get it properly diagnosed. Their contractors have to at least diagnose and fix the issue. Right now, I’m out of $75 and it’s still cold. So, I’m gonna call them again this week and get somebody else to come out.

    Submitting claims online to AHS is easy. With my last claim, I put the request in on Christmas Eve and when I got a phone call the day after Christmas, AHS' contractors could not be at my place until the next Monday. I called AHS and told them that was unacceptable and that I needed someone. They called me back within an hour and a half and told me that they sent Neely Brothers to service my claim. The tech found my issue, fixed it and was out in a timely manner. During the repair, he put out his drop cloth and cleaned everything up.

    I've only had one bad experience with American Home Shield and that was when I was trying to explain to an operator what the previous tech had explained to me. She tried to discount me like I didn't know what I was talking about. When I started giving her more information, she goes, "But what are you asking me questions for because you already know the answers?" I told her the man gave me bits and pieces of information which was what I was giving her. I was asking her questions because I needed the rest of the information. And she just continued to be rude. I said, "You know, you just have a nice day," and I hung up on her. After every claim, AHS always sends a survey about the company that came, the contractor that come out, as well as the operator. I filled that out. Other than her, everybody else has been good.

    It's easier to call in to submit claims with American Home Shield. I've had pretty good assistance with their reps. I've had a few that left a little to be desired but two can't mess up the whole thing that we have with the service. I had a dishwasher claim where they sent Affordable Appliance Repair out. The service guy was really good. He worked on it because it was going into the holiday. And he came on a Wednesday, and he had the parts in probably Saturday. He came and repaired it. So far, the dishwasher is working really good because he repaired the pieces. He didn't replace a lot of the hardware. It was the inside that was messed up. He had a kit that he had gotten and instead of trying to repair what was broken, he got the kit to repair it.

    My husband said sometimes, the response time is a little slow. Last summer, we had an issue with our air conditioner a couple times. It was the second time that they had replaced the inside of the air conditioner. It's a five-ton unit. With this latest company that we had though, they worked diligently to get it fixed because we had to move out of the house because it was so hot. So it was an inconvenience for us to stay on a hotel. We were in a hotel for about a week. As a matter of fact, my kids had all came in and that was really hot here. We all had to leave.

    My kids said, "We'll stay on a hotel with you tonight, but you know, tomorrow, we're gonna get on the road and go back home." So it was pretty disappointing that we didn't have our family outing like we usually do. One other situation was with our dryer. We had a job on the dryer and the guy came and looked at it and he said that it was non-serviceable. I was pretty disappointed about that because I had to buy another dryer. He said I can't say that it was a fault of the dryer. It burned like it did.

    Price Right Plumbing came out for a stopped-up sink. We thought it was the garbage disposal. They came out and said they couldn’t do anything because there was no cleanout. They said on their ticket they have to get on the roof to get into that vent and come down that cleanout. And since American Home Shield does not pay for the roof cleanout, I called Home Advisor and got hooked up with Russell’s. Russell’s came out today, and Lo and behold there is a cleanout under my sink and there is no roof vent. So Price Right lied to me all the way around. I had put out $75 for their service and didn’t event get it right. And then, I had to go and pay this other company all of this money to get this thing corrected.

    There was also a time I told AHS specifically that there was a pump problem with our heating system. But they sent somebody that did not work on pumps. And we had to pay $75 to them before they sent this person out. They should not have sent that person out. AHS is not doing their job as far as I'm concerned. They don’t check the companies that they’re hiring.

    The last time AHS sent somebody out to do something and they said it wasn’t covered and wouldn’t give me my money back. But I've had AHS three years ago since we bought the house and for the most part I have been satisfied. But for them not to take care of me as a customer the way I think they should and these couple of different instances, they put sour grapes in my mouth and I am going to cut them off. I’ll keep my $67 a month that I'm paying them and save that to put towards these big bills like I just had today.

    We’ve been with American Home Shield for a number of years and our experience has always been satisfactory. They’ve always done what they said they would do. They always repair or replace something. AHS seems to have pride in their work and tried to do everything well. And their technicians are all very qualified. Our recent claim with AHS was a microwave. I called AHS and the rep was excellent and did the job very well. The contractors came out and checked it and said the door handle was off and it wouldn’t turn on the inside. They decided to replace it with a new one. We opted to use the microwave that they suggested. It had to be ordered and it took a little longer than it normally does, but it was during the Thanksgiving holiday, and I know all that mounts up and just adds time. But, everything was satisfactory.

    Having the warranty with AHS is a no brainer. If anything breaks in the house, we just pay our $75 deductible and it’s covered. My most recent claim was for my wall furnace. Navigating through American Home Shield's website was simple. I chose what item needed to be fixed and the website went straight to it. Then, the claim was submitted and I got an email of what company’s coming out and on what day. Loyal Hands Appliances' tech was great. He waited for me to get home and explained what was going on. When he fixed it the first time, it was working fine. But after a while, it wasn’t turning on. That’s when I made a second claim to have them come back out.     I usually submit claims to AHS by phone and I love my experience. Their reps are very nice and this is a big difference from my previous warranty company. They don't give me problems with appointments. If an appointment doesn't work, they work with me and they get someone right away. They contact me and then they follow up. The contractors they send are professional but then one left a mess and the other lefts the lights on and the door open up in the attic. Still, the appliance guys are really good and they're efficient. The parts that they ordered came at the time that they mentioned. Everything worked out and I'm pleased with the overall service.

    After the tech came out, my heater is still not working the best now. It seems like my heater still shuts off and then it starts shooting out cold air. The gentleman asked me to change the filters. The filters were changed, and it's still shutting off. So I'm a little disappointed with that. I plan on calling Home Shield today because I'm almost ready to switch. This is the second time that I've had a bad incident. But it is not Home Shield's fault. It's the people that they have working for them. You have to blame the contractor that comes out because they're not initially even diagnosing the problem.

They then sent A-1 Quality Care, LLC Reno to service the claim I filed and they came between 4:00 and 6:00 PM that same day.     We called about our dishwasher and everything was fine from the phone call, from originally calling AHS to them setting it up. I called that morning and it might’ve been within two hours when the contractor called. I figured he was going to make an appointment, but he asked if someone would be home. He said he had our address and he would be on his way. He came in, put the paper slippers over his feet and cleaned. He was a very nice man. Our dishwasher was repaired within three hours of my initial call. I was shocked. I had one issue a few years ago with the microwave and that shouldn’t have taken that long but it took a while because it needed a motherboard. The motherboard was damaged in shipping, so that took three weeks to repair. Outside of that, AHS has been fine.

    The motor in my furnace went bad. I called AHS because that was my only heat source and I asked them to expedite it. It took them two days to get the part. Once Johnson HVAC got it, they came then took the old one out and put the new one in. The guy was very professional. I called American Home Shield and usually, it’s all been HVAC situation. They’ve gotten either Johnson or one other company to come out and they fix everything right on the spot. If there was something that they couldn’t fix on the spot, they'd order the part. Then once it comes in, they fix it. It’s been a good experience.

    I heard about American Home Shield and the good things about them that was why I chose them. There was one instance where they had to replace the water heater but they took a long time. It took more than 10 days to repair it, but they didn't have the part. They had to get the part. That was one bad experience. But so far, they have been good including the representative I spoke with when I called the claim in.

    The furnace wasn't working and that was one of the coldest couple days of the year. Home Shield sent Reliant. They got out there pretty quick and got it fixed. It was the fourth time this year it has been repaired. The tech tried to fix the part the first three times and then ended up having to just replace it. Once he replaced it, we haven't had any problems. I appreciate the ease of this claim. I got online, filed the claim, and it was really pretty quick and easy to deal with.

    American Home Shield is our first warranty, so we’ve gotten stuck with them, and we've had them for quite a few years now. I put in a request online and then they sent me an email with all the information as to when to expect the contractors out. Aqua Plus came out to service the request for my equipment because the filter was not working. They took a look at the equipment, and said they need to be replaced, and they said they have to get back to Home Shield and also talk to their supervisors. Once it was approved, which was the same day, they went and brought the equipment and replaced it with a new filter and a new housing. They were prompt and very professional. And everything is functioning very well now.

    American Home Shield was part of the agreement when we bought our house. We were given some options, and then I went online and picked it out. There were several issues we had with the air conditioning system, and American Home Shield had sent several different contractors over since June. Each of the contractors fixed something but then they left other things that weren’t fixed.

    At the beginning, they were also tying to scam us. The guy came to the house and he was telling my wife, “You have to replace the whole system, and if you go through American Home Shield, it will take about 10 days for us to get in here and fix this.”And this was July in Houston when it is hot and noisy. He gave a quote of 12,000 to 14,000, and he said that if we go with him and buy a new system, then they could have somebody here on Monday morning. It was like strong-arming us. I said that I would pass, but he was trying to pressure my wife to do that and it disappointed me. And then finally another company came in and replaced the control board and the contractor wired it wrong so we ended up with a real mess. Overall, the contractors that have been out were nice, but not good and technical.

    Then Three Brothers came in and fixed everything. They fixed even the other previous issues the other contractors had done. They did a great job. It took them less than two hours to get everything sorted. They were very professional, and very serious about getting to work and doing it. They didn’t want to sit around and just chit chat. They also kept me informed of everything. Their communication skills were very good.

    The highlight of using AHS is the ease of use. Using them has also saved us quite a bit of money. What they should do to improve, however, is to send an alert to the contractor that they should call the homeowner or they should set the appointment up for them because all AHS is doing is saying, “Okay, here’s the contractor, here’s the phone number”. It is like they leave it to the homeowner. Then I got to explain everything to the contractor and then they ask me questions. If I really knew the right answer, I would just fix it myself.

    One night, my daughter Olivia was smelling something burning, so they turned off the furnace and she gave us a call. A claim was filed to American Home Shield and I was there when the tech from JE Johnson came out. That experience was wonderful. Apparently, the air wasn't going through and the blower was overheating. He did a very thorough check and he checked for carbon monoxide. And he came to the conclusion that the heating ducts needed to be really cleaned out because it's an older condo and the buildup in the filter was what they were smelling. So, we went ahead that day and made an appointment to have all the ducts cleaned out, and it has been fine ever since. So far, American Home Shield's service has been good. They've been quick on calling back and they've sent out some nice people.

    We had a couple issues at the same time. The drain under the house was clogged up, and then we had a small gas leak that was probably been there for a while. We just noticed it when the door got shut, and it started to build up. I did everything online, and submitted the claims on Monday afternoon. I got a call that night, and had it scheduled and ready to be fixed the next morning. So it was really incredible. The guys that did the work were quick and kind of explained to me what they were doing and what had to be done. They were in and out in for an hour and a half or less. The tech explained what he did in both instances. When he was done with the gas leak, he brought me down and showed me what he replaced. We actually talked about how he was gonna do it beforehand to make sure it was okay.

    Suretec Appliance Repair came for my washer and dryer. The washer was not going through all of its cycles. So, Cedric from Suretec went through it. He said that it needed a special part which he didn’t have at the time. He was gonna try to get it. And then, he looked at the dryer. It was not drying the clothes. He found that problem too. The only delay was to get the parts. But when he got the part, he came down. We’re really pleased with him. Both my washer and dryer are working okay.

    I went online and I put the claim in to AHS. At first for the washer and then for the dryer, and everything seemed to be okay. I paid $100 service fee, and that worked out all right. Even though our machines are not the modern ones, Cedric went to find the part to fix it. He was very good, professional and very nice. He came a little farther. We live in Hammond. He lives in Slidell which is about 40 minutes away. He went really out of his way and we do appreciate that.
