All American Plumbing had come to repair and replace the hot water heater. They came the next day after I filed a claim to American Home Shield. They came quickly. On some cases, AHS could do a better job of listening to the technicians about what needs to be done with the problem.

I like having a peace of mind with Home Shield. When my dishwasher wasn't starting, I put in a claim and Able Appliance came. The tech was informative and he fixed the problem real fast. Everything has been working fine since.

Our latest claim with AHS went really well. The contractors were really good. They came out right away and fixed the dryer. It was checking the vent system. They didn’t do anything with the dryer, but they did let me know what needed to be done. And then I hired somebody to do it privately and it’s fixed.

I like old, tried and true companies. American Home Shield was the first home warranty to come out for appliances and I like them. They are prompt. You call them about the problem and you get somebody out to correct it in no time. Recently, I made a heating claim and the man couldn’t get to me for a day. It was cold, so I had to leave home. When he finally got out here, it didn’t take him but a few minutes to assess the problem and correct it.

Our heat went out when it was 32 degrees outside. We called AHS on a Friday and Cool Factory contacted us immediately and came to our house the next day - on Saturday!! The problem was diagnosed and a new furnace was ordered and replaced in a matter of days. I would recommend Cool Factory in a heartbeat!!! Excellent service from both AHS and Cool Factory!

The first tech who came was absolutely useless. The flushing mechanism went out on both Johns in my apartment. He took a couple of pictures and left. When the second guy came out, he did the job in 20 minutes and was gone. It was terrific. After AHS got rid of the first contractor, everything was perfect and I was very pleased. I used to use a different company, but they went out of business. I picked up AHS to handle situations exactly like this.

We used Reliable Plumbing about a week and a half ago in reference to a leak, and they came out two days later after we made the request to American Home Shield. It wasn’t an emergency. I had called up in the evening and I made the request, but the following morning, I made a call to Reliable to make sure that they got the email from Home Shield. They said they did and I explained to them what the problem was. The service was very good. The lead plumber was very professional. He did have some problems trying to stop the leak after he had repaired it in reference to the soldering. For some reason, he couldn’t get it to stop, but he was able to do it.
Once he had found the leak, we discovered another leak further down the copper pipe. I kind of recommended to him, “Why not just put down one piece all the way down to the next to next elbow,” which he did. We had to cut out three more sections of the sheetrock to get down the other elbow. And once he did that, he put a flex pipe instead of a copper pipe, and he connected it, and after he connected it, there were no further leaks.
I've been protected with Home Shield for several years. I thought I'd just add a second insurance for my home because a lot of times, your regular home insurance won't cover the small things unless it's a really big issue. And usually, when I have something like this, my deductible is usually too high, but it wouldn’t cover some of the things that I've used Home Shield for. I've always had been very happy with the work done through Home Shield. They’ve always been very prompt in finding me a contractor, and certainly, I've never had any problems.

I spoke with someone from AHS on the phone to have the furnace fixed and their rep was very good. Air Squad was here and then the furnace wasn’t fixed, so they came back. I was in Florida for the second time they came and my granddaughter dealt with them. She said that the technician was very polite and very professional. It's all good now since the repair. I’ve been totally satisfied with American Home Shield.

I submitted a claim to AHS because the fan in the freezer was hitting the side of the little enclosure. It was going click, click, click. Submitting the claim was easy. They said that a person would come and he fixed it. He left. It was all good. And it’s not going click, click, click anymore.

Somebody told me years ago that AHS is the best insurance provider for day-to-day stuff. I've been with AHS for 5 years and have several accounts with them. They sent a tech from All Desert Appliance for a recent claim and he did a great job and was a nice guy.

B & K Plumbing did a great job. My hot water heater wasn’t heating the same way. We were having problems with the water. B & K came out to take a look and see what was going on. They just turned up the temperature. The tech totally inspected it to make sure everything was working like it was supposed to be. And I suspect that what happened was our dial might have gotten bumped a little bit through some storage moving stuff around. The tech was great, very helpful, and kinda showed me how it all worked. AHS is reliable and the contractors have all been really professional. I had American Home Shield in South Florida and it was not a good experience. Here in Illinois, AHS and the folks that they have sent out have been really good.

I had a claim with American Home Shield for my garbage disposal. It wasn't turning on. Mr. Rooter Plumbing came out and did a good job. I've had a lot of bad calls though with AHS. I have two houses and my house down in Kingsville, the air conditioner is still not fixed and I've been waiting for my tenants to have air conditioning down there. It's been about three weeks now. I got a bunch of out of pocket expenses, so I'm talking to the technician and trying to get them paid so they could do it but it just doesn't seem like I'm getting a schedule this week. Also, my gas line was a big problem last year and I was out of pocket over a lot of money. But as a homeowner with a couple houses, you think that you buy warranties for worry-free but it seems like they're big out of pocket expenses either way so I'm really at the point of probably buying new appliances for how much I'm spending on these repairs.

We had a malfunctioning smoke detector and the local fire department told us to first have the wiring checked before we replaced the smoke detector. So we called American Home Shield and they sent a tech out to check it. We were told that someone would call us that day to set up a time to come out. The contractors were awesome. We had already bought two smoke detectors because we figured they were gonna have to be replaced anyway. The technician checked the wiring, both upstairs and downstairs, and then he installed both the smoke detectors and made sure that they were communicating with each other and that they were working. Since then, it has not been going off at 3 o'clock in the morning, so it's been working well. We were very satisfied.

I submitted a claim online to AHS and the website was good. They did a good job with that. The claim was for the condenser outside on the heat pump which was not running. The window was from 4:00 to 6:00, and the contractor showed up around 6:00 and gave me a little bit of warning when they were on their way. Brent came from Sherwood and he looked around at a couple of things and researched the light that was flashing on the motherboard, and he told me to go inside and cycle the circuit breakers for the system outside, which I did. And then, the motherboard showed that it was working properly, and the fan came on.
They did real well. I ended up feeling like we treated the symptom and not the cause though. The cause of it was a high-pressure lockout, but when I reset the circuit breaker, everything was okay, but who knows how long that’s gonna last. But he did a good job. When he explained, he said that, “You can't troubleshoot something when the system is okay right now. Your motherboard is probably getting a little wonky, but other than that, that’s what we can do.” And I understand that. I'm a little disappointed, but not at the technician. I think there was some way to figure out what caused the problem in the first place. But the guy was able to come out that evening, which they bent over backward to make sure they could come out ‘cause we were traveling the next day. So, they moved heaven and earth for us.

I've been with American Home Shield for about four years, and I like being able to request the services online because it's much faster than going through the phone where you have to wait. When I file a claim, I get a phone call within the next 24 hours, and it's usually 48 hours that they get somebody out here. We have no issues with the contractors that showed up. They're great. The guy from United Appliance who came was definitely thorough. He came in, explained everything he was doing, and kinda showed me a few things about the washer I didn't know. He was definitely one of the best contractors that I've had come out. AHS does a pretty good job. That's the reason why we go with them. They're kind of the more well-known company, and we really haven't had any issues with them. Their price point is pretty good and overall, we're happy with them.

I had Choice Warranty and Stanley and they’re a bunch of baloney. I also had American Home Shield a while back and I went back to them. I didn’t have any problems. I filed a claim for my washing machine over the phone and they sent out Applifix Heating and Appliance. I’ll use that gentleman anytime and I’ll recommend him. He’s the best. He knew exactly what was going on, he checked the whole thing before he left, and he said he wasn't gonna leave until I was happy. If I ever have any appliance service, something wrong with my other appliances, I want him back because that gentleman knows his stuff.

I have three properties that they are covering. I spoke with them once when somebody slipped up to get a repair and I later found out that that was not how it works, and that I have to call them and they use their people instead of me using my people and being reimbursed for it. But I kind of understand them wanting to use contractors that they have screened and have agreements with.

I was having a garage sale and it was dark in my garage. Also, the door was making so much noise and it was waking up my neighbors. I needed that door fixed. American Home Shield got on it right away. The guy from JKH Door Service came out sooner than I thought and he was very efficient. He fixed two things that I had wrong with my garage door and helped me to determine what kind of lights I needed for my garage. Those were all very quickly done and he was very personable. Everything has been wonderful. I wouldn’t be without American Home Shield for anything.

My son-in-law told me that he used AHS and I decided to use them as well. So far, I've had some furnace problems and a hot water tank problem, which in the wintertime is pretty bad. When I called them, they've done well. Then they got somebody and got them right out here. My wife and I are both senior citizens and we can't go without heat too long. I was pleased with them. But when I had something wrong with my furnace, I thought the repair should've been covered but they said because it was an exhaust fan, it wasn't covered. It cost me $900 which was so unexpected, right at Christmas time.
I was also disappointed when my garage door broke and after the tech came out, I found out that the only thing the warranty covers on my garage door is the motor. My rails weren't and that service cost me another 700. So, I had two unexpected bills there that I thought I had coverage on, but I didn't. And I got the plus package. Other than that, I've been pleased with all of the contractors who've been out here. They told me about what time they would call and they did that.

The guy from AT Appliances has been here before. He worked on my dishwasher and put a lot of effort into it. He exactly rebuilt the whole dishwasher from scratch. This time, my claim on the dryer turned out well. It works now and I hope it lasts. He was gonna investigate the push-button to see if he could fix it but he never got back to me with that. I also asked American Home Shield to do my lights, but they don’t replace bulbs. I was charged $100 for that and I was hoping that money would be returned. But overall, my experience with American Home Shield was excellent. They are a little bit expensive but I appreciate it. It covers a lot of things. It's nice to be able to have insurance for my appliances and the things around my house.

With AHS, I don’t have to worry about something breaking. When the water heater was leaking, RDN Plumbing replaced it. But after they left, it was still leaking so they had to replace the thing that looked like a little propane tank. And now, it’s not leaking anymore. Moreover, the technicians were very nice. We moved here a year ago in February. The people I bought the house from paid for the first year and I renewed it on my own and increased the coverage. Then I got rid of another policy that I had bought.

Everything went well with my recent claim to AHS regarding our heating. The contractors were available to me within a business day and they came out and they serviced the furnace. They let me know what were the issues and they fixed them. And then when I had a problem after the initial visit from them, they came back out and they fixed that problem, which was really some cardboard being stuck in between the floor. It was shaking. So, they came out and took care of the issue after the fact when I called back. I’ve also been treated well by American Home Shield and they get to the bottom of the issues that I have and take care of them. There’s no reason to go somewhere else.

We wanted a home warranty and AHS was the one with the best reviews. It’s been less than a year that we've been with them. My spouse called in a claim to them when there was a weird noise coming from our refrigerator. AHS sent out MMAB Appliance and they were fine. Our refrigerator has been good since and there have been no problems.

On the home inspection that we had, they said that our unit wasn’t cooling. I did a claim to AHS via cellphone. They sent Crispy out and our face-to-face interaction was good.

My son-in-law and daughter had been using American Home Shield and they've been happy with them so I got it since October. The claims have been so-so. They have been very good about getting somebody out but they just weren't able to fix the problem. Every other time, the guy ordered the part immediately and I got an email immediately that the part was ordered. I never have gotten a text or email that this part has even been ordered. So, right off the bat, I'm kinda thinking this isn't going the way it usually does.
This didn't really go through American Home Shield because it had to do with Express Appliance who handles the service deal. It wasn't the $100 payment for the guy to come out for all of that. It was still under the same thing that had to do with the ice maker. They finally got the thing fixed but when the guy put the freezer back together, the plastic door broke. I didn't see it 'til the next day and I’ve complained about that and I'm not feeling good about it. I don't think they are gonna fix that but I'm giving them a few more days. They've been very good about following through, getting people out here, and getting the parts and doing it.

Something broke into pieces inside the garbage disposal. I filed a claim with AHS and they sent out somebody from Home Choice Services. They were there two days after I called and the tech fixed it in less than an hour.

I tried to open the garage door and it would raise 2 feet then just come right back down. I submitted a service request through the American Home Shield website then I received an email that said I would be contacted within 24 hours. The contractor called me later on that same day and their service was outstanding. The technician showed up and 30 minutes later, he was complete with the repair. He discovered what the issue was immediately and I was very pleased. Everything has been functioning great since, too. As for AHS, they have been professional and they've given me a quick response whenever I have a claim. For every ticket I submitted in the past, there's hardly any delay in getting the company to contact me and get the problem repaired as soon as possible.

I had American Home Shield a couple of years ago. Something happened, I quit, but I had them again since August this time. All Hours Emergency Plumbers came for the garbage disposal. It wasn’t humming and just stopped working. It wasn’t doing anything. I didn’t have a problem submitting the claim online. The contractors came out two days later. They called the next day, scheduled an appointment, and came right out. All Hours Emergency Plumbers were professional, and the garbage disposal has been good since they came.

I got a good recommendation from somebody to use American Home Shield. When the door handle came off of our refrigerator, I didn’t know how to put it back on. So, I went online and put in the claim. They assigned me a provider and they called, and then they came out the next day. The guy knew exactly what to do and he fixed the problem right away. Everything’s fine now.

One issue was the cartridge valves on the handles for the shower. The other one was the sump pump. It was not functioning at all. Central Ohio Home Maintenance came in, fixed the issues in 30 minutes, and left. They were friendly, professional, and point on.

Our microwave over the stove was not working properly. I filed online first with AHS and then made a phone call and they said someone would contact me within 24 hours, and someone did. The contractor was professional and did what he had to do. Everything went as well as could be expected and was done in a timely manner.

I’ve been protected with American Home Shield for a number of years since I bought my home. My experience has been great. They sent Budget for the furnace that wasn’t staying lit. It wasn’t continuing to blow the hot air. I went through the AHS site to file the claim and it did everything I needed. They assigned the contractor and the contractor contacted me. They were amazing because they did same-day service. They rerouted somebody the same day that I filed the claim. The tech simply cleaned the sensor. There's a sensor on the back of it, that if it’s dirty, it's saying that there's a problem. Everything has been operating brilliantly, unfortunately, AHS paid the $100 service call and all he did was come out and scratch the sensor clean.

AHS has been quick, prompt and transparent. With them, there are no gatches and no “Oh, that’s not in the contract.” Things are pretty black and white, and simple. When I have a claim, I submit it online and I’ve not had an issue so far. It’s been easy setting appointments and everything is done via text message and emails. Aside from that, all the contractors that have come out have been phenomenal. There had been issues on that side, but every contractor has fulfilled what they came out to do. I've had some people work on my fridge, on my dryer, and on my plumbing several times. And if the problem was not fixed the first time or if it was not fixed fully the first time, then it was a quick call back or a quick resubmission through American Home Shield. Then they came out and addressed what we didn’t see the first time. All the companies I’ve used have been very easy to communicate with, too

I had a leaky faucet handle, I had a trap under a sink that was leaking, and I had cracks in the toilet. I filed a claim and American Home Shield gave me a time as to when to expect the contractors. Adam's was good. He pretty much put in new things. He put in a new sink trap and they replaced the toilet. My claim was all handled wonderfully.

Our heat pump died and the outside fan wasn't turning at all whenever our system would come on, whether it be for cold or hot air. I went online and submitted a claim to American Home Shield and found their site easy to use. We were given a window between 11:00 and 2:00 to expect Myers Comfort Specialist of Montgomery to come out and service the claim. Their tech was early and he was efficient. My system started working right away. Now it's functioning like it's supposed to. I've been with AHS for four years now and keep them has been a good idea because of the weather at my location. Other people better sign up with them.

I submitted a request on a property that I own where I met the electrician from On Call Electric and the tenant of the property. There were three things that I reported. One, the utility light in the basement did not work. Second, there was sparking in the outlets inside the upstairs bathroom and in the hallway. Third, there was an outlet that was not functioning in the master bedroom.
The electrician needed time to get the authorization from AHS. I left them to go to another appointment and then he ran out of time that day but let me know that he received the authorization. I set up the time with him where he came to the house the next day to complete the work and at that time, he met with the tenant. He was a very nice, soft-spoken man and I was very pleased with the service. The only thing that I thought was different was I had to be asked if he has a business card and he said no, but I could take a picture of his van so I did. I’m a Realtor so I always need good contractors. Overall, AHS did a great job.

The contractors that AHS sent did an excellent job. They came out for the compressor of the refrigerator which was making too much noise. And then after that, they said they had to order a part or I could get another choice, to cash out. But somehow, they ordered the part, brought the compressor and fixed everything and it looks good now. There's no more problem. Everything's working okay now. It was also a great service from the American Home Shield.

When I light the heater's pilot, the flame goes out when I switch the unit on. The contractor came out the next morning and replaced the coupler.

American Home Shield's contractors for plumbing and air conditioners are horrible for my area so I call them and tell them which companies I don't want. I've tried to find another warranty because everything is being denied and you gotta fight with them on everything. But recently they sent Texas Plumbing Pros and they replaced my water heater. They understood what I needed and didn't start trying to upcharge everything like all the other plumbers do in the area.

I had a power outage very recently. The breaker wouldn't stay on and it turned off because of overload but I couldn't get it to go back on again. I emailed AHS and they charged $75. H&C Electric came out to fix it and the tech had to take the breaker box and do something with it. They were incredible. The tech was professional and very courteous. He knew his job and he got it done in record time. It was a very good service and everything has been good since they came out. I would have him again.
I have had American Home Shield for over 20 years and I’m very happy that I’ve had them because there’s always something going wrong when you have an older house. It’s nice to feel that I can call them and I can get some help. I have looked at other providers because, as the time goes by, the rates go up. But I want to stay with American Home Shield because they’re always very prompt with anything that I ask them.

The toilet was working but it was leaking from the base. I called and went through the automated system to order the service from American Home Shield. It always takes a little bit of time because you have to wait for the prompt but it works because I'm usually driving and I have the Bluetooth on when I do it. The contractors solved the issue and I was pleased.

We're very happy with Home Shield. They seem to have a better plan and more to offer compared to other companies. Also, they have what we were looking for. Any time we've used them, they just took care of everything. It was a no-brainer for us. Then the contractors who have been coming out are very quick to respond. We had a tech come out for our icemaker and he was so nice and very professional. He checked it out, went and got the part, came right back and fixed it. It was same day service and it was very good.

American Home Shield is not efficient. I have placed an order on their website and called about my A/C needing repair. It has been 5 months and still no progress. I get calls from the contracted company regularly. They stay in contact better than AHS.

I'm a Realtor and I've had American Home Shield for every house that I've had. We moved here from Austin, Texas and we had the warranty on our house there for five years. We had the air conditioner fixed probably 10 times. We bought another house in October of 2018 and we've had AHS on this since then. We've had a pipe leak and the washer-dryer fixed on this particular house. Our front-loading washer started walking on its own. I noticed that it was kinda shifting to one side so I called it in. I was told that one of the struts was out. The tech said that he would get the part in a couple of days and for me to not do laundry until then. I was like, "Are you serious?" He got me the part the next day instead and installed it. My washer has been working great.
One thing that we had an issue with with AHS was we had to trust the appliance person on what was covered and what was not covered. With our air conditioner, we had to pay quite a bit of money because they said we had a coil out on it. But we didn't know. They just said this wasn't covered. It was like, "Is there somebody we can call to confirm this or are you just trying to get money out of us for this air conditioner?" They didn't have a list of what was not covered. They just say, "This isn't covered. Give me $1,800." And was weird. But that was the only time and I think that AHS has improved this. I'm sure there is an itemized list but I don't know how to find it.
That aside, AHS is a great service. I recommend a home warranty to all my clients. I tell them that I have one and I always talk about my experiences with AHS. Being a real estate agent, we have a lot of clouts. Some agents say they've never heard anybody needing a warranty and that it's not a deal. I hear that all the time here in Washington but never in Texas because it was built into the contracts for new buyers. I always sing their praises. Warranties have been so helpful to so many of my clients and for me too.

I requested AHS for a service on my hot water heater and the tech from Plumb Genius was out the next day. He worked on it and everything's been fine since then. So far, I've been an AHS customer for a year now and my experience with them has been good as well.

All-American Plumbing people were first-rate. They not only were knowledgeable and efficient, they wore uniforms. They were very pleasant. It’s head and shoulders the best vendor we’ve had out here in some time. However, it’s extremely difficult to get through to Home Shield, which I'm sure is partially by design. We have a major problem that is associated with a water leak in our Sub-Zero refrigerator. Water leaks from apparently what is supposed to be a drain line at the back of the thing accumulates at the bottom of the fridge and freezes. And eventually, you can’t close the vegetable drawer and you have to turn it off and go in, use a hairdryer and melt the ice, and there it goes.
We had more than three calls from the same folks about that and they tried to repair that with a variety of different ways, but nothing worked. Last fall, they finally gave up and said that the contractor was going to recommend to Home Shield that the refrigerator would be replaced. But then, nothing happened. So then, I called several times and talked to Judy at one time, and half a dozen other people, and was told that there was some glitch in my contract coverage. The contract was good through November 29th, 2019 and the problem began in May of 2019. So, I don't see where there was a glitch in it. The contract is extended from 11-29-19 to 11-29-20 so I’ve had constant coverage.
I’ve been a member for several years and they were not going to replace the refrigerator. Yet the service people told me that they had recommended this some time before October. So, the refrigerator continues to leak. It doesn't do any good to pay $100 and have a service guy out here because they do exactly what we do, which is to melt the ice, get the ice out of there, and start all over again. Every four weeks, I have to take the vegetable drawer out and melt a big block of ice down there and get it out, and then go back to refrigerating.
I’ve spoken with folks at Home Shield's phone line twice and they said there was no supervisor. I couldn’t escalate it anymore. This has just been a constant problem. I have not been able to get anywhere. In fact, I looked up the home address of Home Shield, which is in Memphis, Tennessee, to try to get in touch with somebody out there that actually would deal with this because the folks at their phone line take orders for appliance repair but they're not equipped to deal with anything that goes any further than that. Apparently, there’s nobody on-site to deal with it.
One of the difficulties is that when you call these people, it can be up to 45 minutes on hold before you have somebody on the phone. So, if you're busy, it’s specifically designed to keep you from harassing them or bothering them. So, in the event that if you do finally get to someone on the phone line, and then, they look on the computer screen and they say, “Well, we can’t do anything about that,” or “We’re not gonna do anything about it, or “Your contract doesn't cover that,” which is baloney because my contract covered everything.
You are supposed to get a webchat, but that has been very unrewarding so far. It has all been, “You’ll need to talk to somebody else or something like that.” I recognize that this kind of company is dealing with people who are upset because there’s something wrong with their house, and they may not like the vendors and so forth, so there are probably a lot of dissatisfied, complaining people out there in the world, and Home Shield is not going to make it easy for these dissatisfied, complaining people to get ahold of somebody and continue to complain. But there ought to be something on that exceptional website they got about how to escalate something off the chain if you can’t get things worked out with the folks at the end of the phone
You talk to the people who are in the Philippines in their call center and they try to be pleasant. They got a script that they read from so they were trying to be pleasant. But there’s nothing that they can or will do about this. In fact, the last two service visits for the refrigerator were from the people I spoke with. That’s all they could do - to get another service call. The last time the guy showed up and he said, “I’m not even gonna look at your refrigerator. I’ve been here three or four times. I know what’s wrong with it. We’ve already requested that they replace it. There’s no reason for me to do anything.” That has been an issue since last August or September.
Except for this refrigerator thing, my experience has worked out fine. American Home Shield’s service has been reasonably efficient and pretty good, and we’ve been satisfied with most of the vendors. I’ve been using the internet where you tell people you have a problem and you want something fixed. That seems to work okay, but this one issue as far as my refrigerator is concerned has really been very unsatisfactory because there has been no way to deal with this effectively. It’s a dichotomy thing.

The Repair Shack has been here about eight times. We have two ovens and one oven broke about four times, and then the other oven, they can’t replace it. They couldn’t find the parts needed to fix it. So, we’re working with American Home Shield to try and get the replacement of the oven. They recommended one which is a convection. The Repair Shack fixed our refrigerator. A couple things went wrong with it, so they had to wait for parts. They fixed it kind of incrementally. The Repair Shack was very helpful and very quick. AHS has been great. We appreciate having it and all the repairs they’ve done. Everything’s good.

We had American Home Shield on a previous house a few years back and we have them now on our house. We just closed on it just two weeks ago. We had a leak on our water heater and we made a claim with AHS. It was really easy to do online. They were able to get a contractor out pretty quickly. It was J & K Plumbing and their guy was here in 50 minutes. He fixed the problem and it was quick and easy. Everything went really well.

We had an Amana dryer that wasn't working and we submitted a claim to AHS. They sent JR Appliance to do service. Both the first and second technician who came from there were very professional and courteous. The first guy said that he had to get a kit for it. JR came back and the second guy repaired my dryer. It worked for a day but then it stopped again. I called JR yesterday and left a message but I haven't heard anything from them yet. Still, AHS seems to be on top of things.

Our garage door mechanism quit working. It wasn’t opening and the gears wouldn’t pull the door up. We originally called a local garage door person and we were just gonna have it fixed, but nobody would ever get back with us. So then, I said, “You know, we have this home warranty. I wonder if it’s under the home warranty.” We looked it up and it said it was. We called American Home Shield and within a day, people were corresponding with us. It was very good. They assigned American Door Masters for this claim and they were really good. We were very impressed with them. They responded and kept in touch with us. They were really on it.

The AC was not working and it happened the Friday, we put in the claim, and the contractor didn’t come out until the Monday. And then they came out the wrong time. When the tech came in, he said that he was trying to do the AC leak. He said that AHS only pays for a certain percentage for the refrigerant so we had to pay 400 for it. They told us if anything happened within 30 days, we’d have to call them back. We don’t have to go through the claim because they are responsible for it if anything happened within the 30 days. We had to call them back because the leak wasn’t the main problem. When he came, we couldn’t get to turn on the unit because the screen for the thermostat had blanked out. He replaced the thermostat.
The last time when we called them back, the guy said that he detected a leak under the house. He kept going into his van to make a phone call. So when he came out and he told me that the guy said that he filled it all the way up, but he is detecting that it’s a little bit low, which I didn’t understand all of that. So the guy checked something and then he went into the van again and then he come back for the machine, on the lines under the house and said he detects a leak, which from since then, it was still chill around here so we didn’t get to put on the cooling system as much. But we put on the cooling system Sunday and it was working. It was blowing cold air to me, so I don’t understand what’s going on with them. But for some reason, it’s not heating the house like when we first got here after that incident happened.

My downstairs heater didn't turn on anymore but Fahrenheit HVAC put a new board in it. It fixed the problem. I'm still dealing with a claim though. It's kind of a pain in the neck. I have two hot water heaters, and in the claim, the second hot water heater never even got looked at. It's also leaking. And now, it's like pulling teeth to get somebody out to fix my hot water heater. AHS said they have reached out to the vendor as well but I'm getting really frustrated with it.
AHS is really easy to get a hold of, but the vendor that they chose won't return any of my phone calls. The first vendor was City Plumbing and then they switched out the hot water heater. The second one is Pipeline Plumbing, and this guy won't answer the phone or call me back. He had an appointment and then he marked down that I wasn't home which I was, and it really made me mad. Then he marked down that he was unable to reach me. I answer my phone every time it rings. So far, everything's been good with them. They seem to be above the board but it's this other company that's frustrating.

American Home Shield sent someone from Shapiro Appliance who fixed everything. I sent a message to the lady who helped me, Portia. She reached out and helped me get another company that could take care of the problem sooner, which I really appreciated. I told her everything was closed. I had a sheet that somehow got stuck under the agitator in the washing machine and it broke. The tech had to take it out and take it apart and put it back together again. I couldn't do that. He was great, very patient talking to me and very professional.
My only issue with your company is my premium went up substantially from like 800 to 1,023. And they said, “Too bad.” I can’t even count how many years I've had AHS. We had it a lot of years in my other house and I like the convenience that they pick the contractors, that I don’t have to deal with contractors. You send me somebody, and if I don’t like them or I don’t like the work they do, I call and you’ll send somebody else out.

The hot water heater had some sediment in it. I called and Sigmond Plumbing came out two hours later. They drained the sediment and heater is now working fine. But I've had Home Shield for five years and thus far, nothing I’ve called them about has been covered. I’ve never really had to do anything but pay them $100 to make a recommendation of who to call. Whatever it was the contractors were fixing wasn’t covered by Home Shield and we’ve paid for the repair to the company. It’s not what I expect.

American Home Shield was the top of my Google search and I've had them for a couple of months now. I called in a claim and their process was easy and straightforward. I have a plumbing stoppage and I just called them yesterday on that. They had the plumber call me and the earliest they could come out is in a week. I'm kind of fighting with them right now about a more reasonable timeframe to get someone to clear a plumbing stoppage right now. This was a bit frustrating. They're supposed to call me back. I'm sort of in limbo right now. Other than the timeliness of vendors for service, my experience was okay.

It’s impossible to get somebody on the phone from American Home Shield. It takes a long time to wait for a rep and sometimes, you get disconnected and then you have to start all over again. It's a nightmare. It’s not the way you would wanna treat your customers. You have to do everything over the computer. If you don’t have access to the computer right away, you're screwed.
The heater was no longer heating up the room and it's a fairly new unit, so it had to be repaired. We have been satisfied with Fayette Heating so far. We had another company before that came out for a different issue and we were not that satisfied with them. They did the basics of what had to be done and maybe that’s how you were supposed to do things but I pay a deductible of $125 before anybody even comes out at this point. So, it's frustrating when AHS sends people who just do the bare minimum and the company only covers the bare minimum as well of what needs to happen.
People should keep shopping around if they’re considering a home warranty. I've had other home warranties and AHS is my second one. I've been with the first one for many years and that turned out to be a complete nightmare. You can put what you pay every month on your membership to the side and save that up. There's a lot of money that you're putting out. If you don’t have any issues in your house, it's just lost money.

I've had American Home Shield ever since I moved to Arizona. I was with them on and off for 15 years. There were a couple of years that I didn't own a home. But every time I own one, I use them. I'd tell neighbors to get the home warranty. American Home Shield is perfect and I love them. I called them when my unit was running continuously with no heat. They were fabulous. It was freezing cold around here and they had somebody out right away to fix my unit for me. Their contractors were wonderful too. They were really nice. When they left the place, everything was exactly like they found it.

American Home Shield is good. They are very quick and it's easy for me to set up an appointment verbally or through the internet. I’m a interpreter so I help not only myself but many other Vietnamese people as well for communication. AHS always works well. They do appliances and they do water. I have a lot of Vietnamese people I recommended AHS to and they all signed up because I told them that they are the best. They know my name and my account. I know all the procedures and how that works. I’ve been with American Home Shield for a long time and everything is good.
When they sent out Dan’s Pro-Lock, the guy from there was really good and very professional. Time-wise, they were perfect. They called me the day before and 30 minutes before they came. Everything was very nice. They showed me a little bit more of what I needed. The guy was an experienced locksmith and was a very nice guy.

My dryer didn’t start. It had power and the LED is on, but when I press the button to start, it didn’t. I did an online claim to American Home Shield, and they sent At Home Services within 24 hours. The technician was really good. He was open to help. It seems that he got experience. He fixed it really quickly, and also, he gave me advice as well on how to avoid the same thing from happening. So, that was good. With AHS, I like being able to open this ticket and have service done in my house in a quick timeframe without thinking on higher cost.

We had a bathroom sink that wouldn't drain. We submitted a claim for it on Friday morning to AHS and their contractor, Patriot, was gonna try to come out that afternoon. However, it didn't work in our schedule to get somebody there. On Saturday morning, I found out my water heater was leaking and so I called to see if I needed to put in another service request. Patriot knocked out both issues on Monday morning. It was a weekend of having a leaking water heater, but in the end, it was okay. We've had a few issues with our house and AHS has been great to work with. We've gotten our money's worth out of the warranty. Usually, we get a contractor within a day or two and they get the situation knocked out. This warranty has been a lifesaver.

American Home Shield sent Allstate Plumbing Colorado to fix the water heater in the basement. The water heater was flooding. They checked. There was one pipe that was busted. The guy was very good and professional. He came in and he knew exactly what the problem was. He got measurement, got the parts, and got it fixed. Initially, I went to American Home Shield's website and then tried to put up my claim. It appeared to me that the nature of the repair was not mentioned in their website. So, I chose the closest appliances that I had, and it turned out that it was something different. They chose something like a heating and cooling company. And then I tried to call this heating and cooling company for the whole of Sunday. I left several messages too, and the company never came in.
I thought I better talk to somebody on 800 on a personal basis too. So, I called American Home Shield and they immediately figured out what the problem was, and then they suggested Allstate Plumbing to me. That was Sunday night. The next morning, they called me and they set up an appointment. The guy came in before the appointment. So, it worked out really well. I’m fully satisfied with American Home Shield. As for the contract they gave me, I chose a plan to pay $100. So, they just deducted $100 after the repair, and everything worked out very good.

Home Shield provides service and good people. I usually call when I have a claim and they're quick. The process is pretty good. They send a vendor out within a day or two and I've been satisfied with their work. I've been with Home Shield for about three years and it's been an overall good experience.

I’ve been under American Home Shield’s program for a few years now. I have 12 items that are set up under the program. It’s nice that you can call and they can come out right away to resolve the problem. The filter was leaking every time the ice maker came on and the technician that AHS sent was stating that the ice maker needs to be changed out every six months. He was very good, sufficient and quick-moving. He took care of the problem and told me about it. He showed me how to take it out and how to insert the filter for when the six months are up.
The technician left me with the old filter so I could have the box and told me exactly where to go if I need to get another one should this problem arise again but he also said that if I can stay with the six months and changing it, I’ll be fine. I can turn my ice maker on now. I had it off for a couple of years and I ended up buying some ice trays because I was trying to wait to make sure no other appliances were acting up. It’s kinda bad when you call for just one item but it’s been nothing else.

American Home Shield has been wonderful to us the entire 14 years we’ve had them. We’ve never had any problems with them. Recently, we submitted a claim for our garbage disposal. It was a wonderful experience with the contractor. The garbage disposal has been fine since then.

AHS does what they say they’d do. Usually, if I file claims online, I get immediate results. AHS even replaced our whole furnace without any problems. And each time I’ve asked for a technician, that technician has come out. When they sent Pyk Appliance to work on my refrigerator, Pyk reached out to me on the same day.

When I push the button, the garage door only goes up about 4 inches and then stops. Either it goes back down or just stays where it was. It wouldn't open or close any more than that. I got stuck in my garage and I had to manually open it in the morning. Submitting the claim to American Home Shield was straightforward. I like having the option to choose my contractor. All these happened on a Thursday and I put in the request on a Friday. I didn't know how fast somebody would be able to come out and see me so it was nice to try and find a contractor that would have a time that would fit my schedule because some of the ones that were provided weren't open on Saturday. But it was easy getting the guy out there.
As soon as I put in the request, that company was calling me in 20 minutes saying they could be out there within the hour. Then, American Home Shield was sending me emails and letting me know that the contractor was on the way. There was full communication from beginning to end and with as much other stuff I'm dealing with right now, that it was like that was such a breeze to deal with. I'm very thankful I went ahead and bought the more expensive policy because everything was covered with the garage door. Everything but the door and the track was covered, so the guy was able to mess with the spring. It's great.

On this house, we've had American Home Shield for 12 years. I’m always ready to quit but then I rethink it and we stay on. I like the warranty for ordinary things like the refrigerator and the stove. But if the claim is for a high-ticket item, the company tends to say they can repair it and then we end up taking cash in lieu of it and buy a whole new system. The guy from AT Appliances was excellent though. The temperature was out of whack in the refrigerator. We opened it up and it was too warm. So then I called American Home Shield and they sent him out. He temporarily fixed it, ordered the part and then came back and installed it. It was very good. Getting the part took a day. It was overnight.

The garbage disposal stopped working and Lake Plumbing came out. The tech was great. He came out for a few minutes and he didn't have a garbage disposal to give me that day. He had to order one and as soon as that came in stock, he came out and, in less than 10 minutes, he was done.

American Home Shield has been great and I've been with them for nine years now. When I call them to submit a claim, the reps are always very courteous and helpful. The contractors are very good too. Everybody who had come in had been very nice and trustworthy. I used to get someone right away, and everything had been taken care of in a matter of time. So, I'm pleased with that.

I had an issue with the ice bin. Te icemaker wasn't making ice because the bin was filled. I didn’t know how to get the ice bin out and to reset the filter. The tech from Service Connection gave me a tutorial on how to do that. When you make the call, it’s $100 and it cost me $100 for nothing major. But the young man was very knowledgeable and he took care of everything right on the spot. The service was wonderful.

I had no heat and I originally submitted the claim online and that it was either the heat pump or the furnace. I also called in the morning to clarify that I didn’t have three days to wait for it to be shipped around to contractors at the beach and they would choose not to come. I specifically requested the Clean Air folks that had been here before ‘cause they operate on the east side of town. The same gentleman who fixed the heat pump came out and determined that it was the blower on my furnace and replaced it. It’s now running 100% the time and I’ve got heat. Even though I had to make another call for clarification, everybody was on top of it and I got the assistance that I needed. The appropriate vendor was contacted, it was scheduled, and the technician arrived in a timely manner and fixed the problem. It went smoothly overall.

The pump seal was leaking. There was water underneath the pump. The other thing that was happening was that the filter was draining. It was suctioning back into the pool. So I replaced the gasket myself on the pump basket. But it was still losing suction. I noticed that there was some water everyday out there. So I figured it was a little bit more than I could handle. I sent in a claim and I got J & J Pool, but I couldn’t replicate the problem at that time and I didn’t know what was going on why the filter was suctioning back to the pool. So I cancelled that service and I got refunded the $100. I called Hayward Pump and tried to ask them about the filter and they said I had a leak. So when I went back out there, I saw where the leak was. I went back online again and I was assigned Alchemist Pool.
The tech did everything the first time through. I was there with him because I like to watch so I can do it myself. He took out the parts, put on the new gaskets, and put it back in. It went back in the first time, and he was very efficient. I’m having a problem with the limit switch, and I gotta figure that one out right now. But he said he couldn’t look at it because it’s electrical. He could only work on the mechanical part and that I would have to enter another service order for an electrical problem.
When I bought the house in 2013, there was already a contract open on it with American Home Shield. So I just took it over. I don’t have to pay for the big repair items. But I don’t like the fact that the price went up to $73. It kinda took a big jump, but then again, I don’t get hit with a big repair bill. When I had my refrigerator worked on, at least somebody came out, fixed it, and it was done. I’ve actually thought about cancelling and looking for somebody else, but so far, they’ve been responsive and it’s been very easy.

The compressor of the refrigerator broke so my husband called AHS to submit a claim. The contractor that came out was awesome. Their service was excellent. Unfortunately, it takes forever to get the parts from LG. So, we were without a refrigerator for two weeks. But once the part came in, American Home Shield called right away that they had the part and then they scheduled the repairman, which was the same guy, to come back the next day and he fixed it. It was a great experience. Other than when a bad company came out to fix our furnace, we’ve been happy so far with AHS.

The tech who came for my refrigerator was absolutely on time. He came up and I showed him what was wrong. Then he did his own investigation. The sensors that when you keep the refrigerator door open too long had broken off and the gaskets were worn. He reordered new ones and told me that when he got them, he would be back. A few days later, he called, said he had them, asked for an appointment, came over, and put them on. He also replaced the gaskets.

Sneed Electrical worked on my dryer in the past week. When I filed a claim for it, I was told to go to the website and select the date. The next available date was about five days later. The tech who came was professional, answered questions and did as expected. We had to have a part ordered, so they did. I called them and they said it would be a couple more days before they could come back and put the part back in, which wasn’t too long. If something else came up, it would be fine for them to come back and work on it. I also filed a claim for leaking sinks. Submitting it online was fairly easy and pretty straightforward.

We've had American Shield for five years and we’re happy. Even though we’ve had some problems, they’re right on it in getting me hooked up with whoever I needed to be hooked up with. The contractors are professional, especially the last guy. He let us know he was coming, and he came. He checked out our dryer and knew what the problem was. He had the part on hand and fixed it within 20 minutes too.

AHS put my coverage in fine print and I could hardly read it. A lot of the stuff I thought was covered, wasn't covered. I had a garage door spring break but then my AHS warranty doesn't cover it. It just covers the motor. Another day, I had a garbage disposal go bade and they said they didn't cover that either. Still, their contractors have been really nice. I've been with AHS over a year now and putting in claims to them has been pretty simple.

The furnace was not turning up even though the thermostat would show 70. I called the 24-hour number Saturday morning to see if AHS could get somebody in. They gave me a notice that they were gonna charge me $100 for each call. They charged my bank account then I automatically got a text message that Sierra Mechanical would be coming in. The tech came in later that afternoon and got it done. He knew what the problem was and he also knew what he was doing. The sensor that communicates with the thermostat was dirty and all he did was clean it. It took him about 10 minutes then everything started working. I thought he could even replace a sensor, but he said AHS doesn't allow that unless the sensor is really broken or cracked, and that wasn’t the case.
I’ve called in 3 times for my icemaker. The contractor comes in and changes the icemaker. It works for just a little bit, then that’s that. Now, I turn the icemaker off for about 3 days then turn it back on, and it will just make a tray of ice one time, and that’s it. I didn't know that I have 50 days to call for the same issue. I thought every call was gonna be $100, so I just let it be. But this time that I called this, I wanna make sure that they really take everything apart and try to figure it out because I’m getting tired of calling in so many times.

The tech who came was very professional and helpful. There was a leak under the kitchen sink, right where the joints meet. Also where the dishwasher drained into the drainage system, there was a bad connection right there.

My fiancé and I both quickly came to the point where we DESPISED calling American Home Shield after less than 3 months of having them. American Home Shield hired a contractor to replace our hot water heater. Contractor chosen for us by AHS. This contractor spoke very poorly of American Home Shield and first asked to reschedule our appointment and then showed up 3 hours late. After he already rescheduled one other time before. Did a poor job of connecting piping (pic attached).
Reported issue FOUR TIMES to AHS over a month and a half period. Was PROMISED a call back from every representative I spoke to. Not a single call back was received. Called to cancel 2/28/2020 after only starting service 12/02/2019 because of the incredibly POOR SERVICE received from American Home Shield. American Home Shield FAILED in staying true to their promise of taking care of their customer and calling me back. Asked the amount of refund I should be expecting for the 21 months of service I did not use prior to cancellation. Representative informed me that there would be no refund. NO REFUND!! Then she stopped and saw that I had a two year contract. I asked her why anybody would choose to cancel a contract without receiving a refund and she could not answer that question. Said she would check on my account further and call me back.
Called back 30 minutes later to inform me that she cancelled my contract. I would not be receiving a refund and could not reverse her action. I DID NOT ASK TO HAVE MY CONTRACT CANCELLED WITHOUT A REFUND. No one would. My only other option is to speak to sales and PAY for another contract. Shortly thereafter my fiancé received an email stating we now owe a cancellation of $95 to AHS. I could not speak to a manager. And she could not reverse her action even though that was not performed per my request. Most all operators are oversees and have a hard time of understanding the issue or reading notes in the system. Cancellation fee when you cancel and no refund; even after only using 21 months of a 24 month contract.

The water heater wasn’t working and I submitted a claim over the phone. Budget AC Heating did a good job on it. Their technician is good. They came back and finished and now we got hot water again. I've had American Home Shield for three years and this is only the second time I've called them. Both times, my problems were taken care of.

I submitted a plumbing claim online and, unfortunately, it took me calling American Home Shield a couple of times to figure out where the claim was. Their parts department wasn’t responding to them, so we were without a water heater for about two extra days. I waited a day, started to call them, and then the next day, they had something for us. The guy was straightforward and he did not waste any time. He said what they were looking at, what it was going to require, and that I needed new pipes. The plumbers they sent on both occasions were great. We also did a rekey and that was great too. The guy came in, was here for two hours, and gave some good recommendations.

The claims submission process with American Home Shield is not hard. But it all depends on who they send out. Some people are good and some people are bad. It also depends on what the issue is, if it's plumbing or electrical. The people who came out for my water heater, from the Best Care Home Services, were fine. Our water heater leaked and they came out and looked at it. The guy had to submit something to American Home Shield and they said he could replace the part. It had to be ordered but neither of them ordered it. When I finally called, I asked what was going on and Best Care said there was a mix-up. They thought AHS was ordering and AHS thought they were ordering it. So we had no hot water for three weeks, basically from the time the call was put in. Then you get your, "Oh, we're sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry." It doesn't help.
A year and a half ago, I had an issue with the heating system. The contractor put the furnace in but they were terrible. Their workmanship sucked. It was a furnace air conditioning unit. It's all outside and they had to rip the old one out but when they finished, it looked like crap. It didn't look anything like what they took out. I hope the people AHS hires can be improved.
On top of that, every time somebody comes out, they always have to make adjustments or modifications. They never just replace something. I know American Home Shield can't see what the person is saying but there hasn't been a time when I've used them on that house in Tennessee that there hasn't been a modification that needed to be made. I know that's what the contractors do to pad their stuff because they're only gonna get so much from American Home Shield. The contractor would say how much the water heater would cost and the labor they put in but then they would always say it's no good, that they have to replace all this and put new ductwork in. Give me a break. No, they don't. That's a bunch of crap.

Appliance Company came out to install an over-the-range microwave. People came out and the guy said the old one couldn’t be fixed. I did my claim with American Home Shield over the phone. And the first time, they referred me to an appliance company, but they couldn’t get here for a week. So, we killed that one and AHS gave me another one that came the next day. AHS sent the new microwave to my home and once it was here, I met a plumber to get it installed. He knew what he was doing. He was good. I renewed my AHS policy several years ago. I like them.

The guy who came out was really young but I could see that he was experienced. The first time he came, he really couldn't do too much 'cause the problem I had wasn't showing up. I had to call him back again because we didn't get anything accomplished. They didn't charge me for that particular call but he came back for the same thing. I would have liked for someone else in the business to come out and confirm that. But that young man was very helpful. That's the first time I've ever had a claim with Home Shield in years and the cost is too high. For $80 a month and then you gotta pay $75 for them to come out, that's pretty steep.

Requesting service has been really easy with American Home Shield. I normally do that online and everything gets done in a timely manner. Also, I’ve called a few times just to get clarity on what is and what isn’t covered and it has been easier and faster doing things online. I love AHS's app. It is well automated and I don't have to speak to anybody. You go online, talk it through and afterwards, people call you to schedule the appointment. And you get text messages. When I had a bad oven, AHS sent Rob's Appliance. They were brilliant, very helpful and got everything done. Moreover, the guy was fantastic. They took one day to figure out what the problem was. Then they then had to order the part because it was a special order part. All in, it took a total of three days to get the repair done.

I had two back-to-back claims with American Home Shield. The one for the AC went well. It was the motor in the AC and Three Brothers A/C & Heating did a good job. Then for the water heater claim, the company that AHS sent out had to get a regulator thing and the place that they normally buy it from didn’t have one. The company was helpful, but their owner wanted more money and he said that he would do it for $140. They had other vendors where they could buy it from, but it was a little more expensive. In order for them to do it that weekend, they had to get the part from the more expensive place or I had to wait four days without hot water. If it was available in places, they should buy it. So instead of $100, I paid $240 which was the cost for them to get the part. AHS needs to have more options, especially for something like that when it’s cold outside and you have people coming in town to the weekend.

I had a leaking bathroom pipe and my shut-off valves to the water weren’t working. Also, I had to change the showerheads. It's always good whenever I called Home Shield. They have good customer service reps and you just tell them what you need and they just send somebody out. Also, they always send me an email and tell me how far the contractor is out, how close he is to my house, if he's gonna be there in five minutes or whatever, and so does Rick, the plumber from Tavor, who always called me, too. I had them before and I wish every time I called in about plumbing, I get the same person.
If you have a 10 o’clock appointment, usually, people would either show up at 10:00 or a little after. He's always early because he came out and checked what needed to be done the next day after I talked to Home Shield. And then he saw what had to be done, and he just told me, “Okay. When I am gonna submit, whatever it is, and Home Shield will say it's okay to go on and do it, and I'll get all my stuff.”
He then called me when it was all done, and he said he would be out on Wednesday, told me the time, then he was here at least 15, 20 minutes early, or maybe earlier, and he went on and fix the showerhead because the condo didn’t turn the water off until 10 o’clock. He did other stuff he had to do that did really need the water shut off. So, about 10 minutes to 10:00 I called the home office down the hill from me, then they sent someone up and he went downstairs with him, and the guy showed him how to turn the water on and off. That way, after he finished the work, he could check it and make sure it was working. So, everything worked out fine. I have no more leaks and if I had to turn my water off, I don’t have to worry about having to call the condo office and have them send a plumber over to do it. All my shut-off valves are working.

The contractor was very prompt and courteous. They had to order a part for the heater and they thought it was gonna take a week, but it just took two days to come in. After they replaced it, the heater went out again that evening. So my wife called the company and the guy said it was just a fluke. It was the igniter that went out, and he replaced it. He came out in five minutes after my wife called and replaced the igniter. So it was really good service. American Home Shield was easy to talk to. I was satisfied. It was a good experience.

The people who came out to fix our dryer were very good. I was very pleased. The first time the guy came out, he had the dryer running and doing well. But when we tested it, we only tested it in the normal cycle since we figured the sensors were burned out. He checked the sensors and replaced them, and the dryer worked fine. But then it just stopped working. So I sent another report. We thought the repairman probably should've replaced another part. He came back out and the element was gone. He replaced the other element and again, it worked for about a day and a half. We ran several loads but then my wife needed to do a light load and as soon as she switched it over, the system burned out.
When I told the repairman, he said “Aha. So you've been paying attention." I try to pay attention. Electronics are tricky and you really have to pay attention to them. I'm retired military and I'm used to electronics. But not many people would be really paying that much attention to it. The repairman checked the dryer and sure enough, the part was gone. The dryer apparently had a problem with its circuit board. But they were not able to get a new panel for it so they said they would have to replace the dryer. Then since our washer is the same brand anyway and just as old, we decided that we would spend the extra money ourselves and replace both washer and dryer so that they would look alike. It’d be more pleasing to look at.
We've been with American Home Shield for a little longer than a year now. We decided we were just gonna have to do American Home Shield after the compressor of our refrigerator went. We had it replaced and the compressor was within the 10-year warranty so that was taken care of but we still had to pay about $400 for the service fee and the maintenance people to repair it. But normally, it would have been a 1,000-dollar job. The compressor itself was a 500 to 600-dollar item. When we got the home, the neighbors said we ought to just go ahead and do American Home Shield. One of them said they had shopped around and settled for American Home Shield. This is the first time we’ve actually had to use them and we're quite happy with them.
The only problem I had with submitting a claim online was that the first time I went on there, I also had a dishwasher that needed to have some repair but I had to file a separate repair order for that. I guessed that was normal but on the third time, I was told I should be able to submit more than one on a work order. When I clicked the button for that, everything else was locked out though. I could not submit anything else.
Aside from that, there was only one thing that blew me a little bit. Once I was told American Home Shield was gonna replace the dryer, I got an email that said they had closed out the account and I had a form asking me to rate the maintenance people. It said, “Hey, your thing is fixed. How about rating me on the work that I did?” I went, “Whoa! What is this?” I totally missed a step and I called the guy that did the work and he explained.
The maintenance man should have a box that they can check, saying, “Closing out the account. American Home Shield will contact you for further service or replacement.” If it said that when that email came to me, I would know then that I would grade the maintenance person on the work they did and American Home Shield would contact me. The maintenance person should have a box that something is marked "fixed" or "not reparable". American Home Shield's system needs to do something to let us know that they would close out that account but they are still going to continue working with us to replace the item. It would give the customer a little bit more ease instead of thinking American Home Shield was leaving the customer hanging with a broken piece of equipment. It's just a glitch in the system that can be fixed if somebody paid attention to it.
Nobody from American Home Shield followed up with me right away either. About a day and a half after I had spoken to my maintenance guy, then American Home Shield did contact, which my man had already said they would do. But the minute they closed that account, the email was here right away and I was sitting there saying it was not fixed. I could’ve called American Home Shield to find out what was going on but it was actually easier when I called the maintenance guy's number. It’s a lot harder sometimes getting ahold of a person at a bigger company. If I call their number, sometimes I get voicemail. I had also established rapport with my maintenance man.
Still, I was very satisfied. As far as when American Home Shield did contact me, everything has been fantastic. I was given all the options of what I could do. They could do the replacement or I could do the replacement and send them the data. At this point, we've already purchased a washer and dryer but we aren’t quite happy with it. It’s bigger than what we need and it doesn’t fit right in our space. But we have 30 days to exchange it so we’re gonna be contacting the dealership and have them get a smaller one. Once we have that, we would have the proper numbers and we will submit that number to American Home Shield.

We had the refrigerator and the stovetop fixed. The contractors came on time and did a good job of repairing both within the hour. The workman's name is Roger and his assistant is Collin. The refrigerator would stop working and Roger found out that there was some kind of shortage on the outlet behind the refrigerator. I also kept burning my food. So he first thought it was a fuse on the stovetop and then he realized that what was actually wrong was the knobs were not placed properly. Roger was very professional and he did a good job. They were good. I need to call them back to ask them about my ice maker because it is making so much noise.

The dishwasher had a bad motor and I called American Home Shield. They gave me Central Appliance and the technician came when he said he was gonna come. He inspected my dishwasher, told me what was wrong with it and said that it was gonna be a few weeks. Then, he came back and fixed it. He was a complete gentleman and he did a great job. Everything worked fine. If something breaks, I’d like to keep in touch with him. I’ve been with AHS since December and I had an issue with my plumber the first time. The plumber they sent sucked but AHS did the right thing and it all worked out. I have no complaints. I hope nothing breaks and I don't have to use them but if it does, I know they are gonna be right there. So, I’m happy with what I have.

The microwave wasn’t working. The light was going on and off. We called American Home Shield and they helped us schedule something. They went ahead and looked for someone. Then they found someone but was far away, so they found somebody close by. This person stayed with us on the phone for about 10 minutes and they did a good job. When they went in, they fixed the light and told us how to use the microwave appropriately. The microwave is in mint condition right now.

I had no heat and my unit would try to start up but it could not ignite. So, you could hear it trying to start up and it would blow for a little bit, but it would never catch on and blow warm air. I called AHS, got a case number, then the technician came out. But the problem was, the heating system would come on during the day and would not come on at night. That was the hard part because people don't work at night. You have to be able to replicate the problem and if someone were to come out during the day, the heat would be working.
So, I had to kind of explain that in a lot of detail and a lot of urgency to the people who were to come out. And I didn't realize this at first. After a few calls and not having to cancel finally, I figured out what was going on and I was able to contact somebody. I had them come out really early first thing and Staunton River was able to do that. They were great. Everybody was also so helpful at AHS. I called them a number of times and had to cancel. Then, one lady kept helping me try to look up other people who might be able to help though she didn't have to do that. So, that's hard to find these days and I appreciate it.

When the first technician came out, there was a problem and I asked for a second opinion. AHS didn’t even hesitate to have someone else come out and give me a second opinion on what was going on. The second appliance people determined that my dishwasher could not be fixed after they tried a couple of things on it. AHS did not hesitate to get me a replacement and took care of the problem. They did a wonderful job.

I had a heating issue where the motor wasn't working properly and the Right Tech people that American Home Shield sent out were good and professional. They did exactly what we wanted and everything was taken care of. Then, once they left, something wasn’t working properly, so my wife called them back and they came right back within the same hour or so. I sell homes in real estate, so I always tell people to get home warranty. I then thought that we might as well get one in case something comes up -- we got it this year. It is a good warranty to have and we are probably going to stick with it.

The dishwasher was leaking and the service man that came out was absolutely marvelous. In fact, he showed up at the end of the day when he should’ve been on his way home to enjoy his evening with his family. We actually had the appointment for the next day but he came by to do our job because he had the parts on his truck and he didn’t want to wait ’til the next. He had been here before when he took that part, then figured it out what parts he needed, and he ordered the parts. We didn’t have to do a thing. They were delivered to our house and then he came and installed it. He was a very, very likable guy, and we enjoyed having him around.
They replaced all the whole innards of the door. So we have virtually a brand new door, and it works like a champ. I have put American Home Shield on every house that I have owned in the last 30 years I’ve ever bought a house. When I was in the real estate business years ago, every time I sold somebody a house, I put a year’s worth of American Home Shield on the house so they’d never have a problem.

I bought two new contracts and Home Shield was supposed to take the money out on the 23rd. But I called before then and I said I didn't want them to start the warranty until April 3rd. The guy told me he had done everything and that no money would be taken out until then. But on the 25th, they took out the money from my account, $90 for the two warranties. Other than that, I called in a claim for the furnace and FJ Murphy & Sons came out. They were very nice. They put in a new furnace and everything was alright.

Submitting my claim to AHS was very easy. I just completed the online log-in and stated the problem. Then they were able to send the company out and the follow up was the same process. Whirlpool Georgia was very good, professional, very nice and courteous. They were out of the Covington area and came in at the very top of the window time. The dryer was not heating properly and it was also not coming on at all, but they fixed both. They were also very great at giving extra knowledge about the product, services, and extra tips on how to maintain it.

Bobby's Pool and Spa came out and replaced my pump on my pool. I submitted that claim on a Tuesday and he came out on Friday, because of the weather. His work was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and he explained a lot of things to me. And he told me what I need to do to keep my pool running the way it’s supposed to be.

The tech who came for our dryer was very efficient, professional, clean, and tackled the job perfectly. Moreover, he brought parts with him and fixed the dryer his first time out. Once, we had an issue with my daughter and had a horrible provider. It was a nightmare with Comfort Heating. We had to have another outfit come in and repair the damage that Comfort Heating did. They claimed that it was nothing related, but it was. They just wouldn’t stand behind their work. The contractor who came out to correct it was phenomenal.

I had an old furnace about 30 years old in here and the pilot light wouldn’t stay lit. I submitted the claim to American Home Shield and they sent someone out to inspect it. The man checked my furnace out and he went back and told me that it has got serious problems with it, and it’s too old to try to get parts for it. So, they recommended changing the furnace. It was upgraded to the later model furnace. Budget did a good job and they were excellent. The furnace works fine and I’m nice and warm. It made me more comfortable. I didn’t have heat in the wintertime here, so I needed a furnace. I’m satisfied with AHS so far and I’ve had no problems.

A rep called me and she told me about how fast they get service techs out and the number of techs that they have under contract with them. So I decided to give them a try. I had a claim for my water heater and it went great. Georgia Peters came out the same day that I made the request. They diagnosed the problem and then contacted American Home Shield again. They authorized replacing the water heater because of the damage and the age of the water heater that was in. They told me they would be here the next day at 8:00. They actually came early and they were extremely professional. They did a great job.

We've been off and on with Home Shield for a very long time. This particular policy was given to us by the previous owner for a year. They added it to the sale of the home as an extra benefit. Our icemaker was freezing up on us. I called Home Shield and they sent out their best person. I got to speak to a live agent. I’d rather deal with a person versus hitting one, hitting two, hitting three. So, it worked out beautifully. Then the normal turnaround time is five to seven days max. The contractors were very respectful and they honored my request. It was a very pleasant experience. Everything is back to normal. I would highly recommend Home Shield.

Filing claims with AHS is definitely an easy process and I usually get a contractor in 24 hours or less. So far, I've been happy with the contractors I've gotten. AHS handled some air conditioner repair work and a little bit of electrical that had to be done. They also handled a rusted out 4-inch metal pipe that was leaking some water when the toilet flushed. I'm really happy with my AHS experience.

Our air conditioner went out. A little lizard got up in the system and fried some wires. The lizard probably got electrocuted. I submitted a claim online to AHS and the technician came out that very day. However, he said that, because of the cost that he would need to get approval to proceed. So, he came back another day to complete the job. But thank goodness, we had a cool wave, so we didn't need air conditioning. The technician was excellent. We’re very happy to have AHS. I like the peace of mind it brings.

The garage door wasn't opening on my rental property. I filed a service request with AHS and they sent out Professional Door Fixers to repair it. I normally call the warranty company when I need a service and so far, the reps I talked to as well as the contractors they sent out were professional.

The customer service reps of AHS are very good and very helpful. I've had no major issues with AHS, just a couple little hiccups in the road, but they’re pretty good. Recently, Rocket Repair came to fix my oven. The technician came out within 24 hours after I submitted the claim and he was very nice and very knowledgeable.

We've used the warranty at least once a year. At one point, I was debating on whether to continue the contract and now, I'm glad I did. As a matter of fact, I even upgraded to more coverage. It's the one that covers just about everything. I've used the warranty several times this year and I've been pleased with it. It has definitely paid for itself this year. We had to have the icemaker in the refrigerator worked on. We also had the hot water heater elements replaced and the gentleman who came out was great. He took care of the problem and was very professional. I file claims over the phone because I usually have questions, and it wasn't long at all before he came out. He was pretty prompt. It's usually within a few days or maybe, at the longest, a week.

I’m very satisfied with American Home Shield. Moonstar came out for a GE refrigerator and a GE dishwasher. The latter wasn’t working, and the former had an issue with the water dispenser. Submitting the claim over the phone went pretty good. The tech was professional and did the job properly. The dishwasher was not done the first day, though. It was behind some tool kit, so the tech had to remove it. I think there’s some issue and I don’t know why. He probably did not have the right tools the first day.

The warranty is great. It covers a lot of things. But the deductible was high. It’s $100 every time you make a service call. But that’s the only thing that’s a problem for me. The monthly premium is reasonable and when I have claims, I like to submit them online. It’s easier. It’s something I automatically do. For my furnace issue, the guy from J & S came out the same day. He was very pleasant and professional. He had to come out twice though. The first time, he thought it was one part and he replaced it. But then the furnace started doing the same thing it was doing that made me call in the first place. So I called him and the same day, he came back out. He said it was another part and since then, the furnace has been working fine.

I believe this is our second year with American Home Shield. I renewed with them once. Aside from overall ratings, choosing them had a lot to do with waiting at 30 to 90 days when I signed up. Also, our old home warranty went out of business and they never told anyone. If something goes wrong, I wanna make sure I have coverage, so I was in a scurry to find one. I found AHS and I seem to be very happy with it, so far. When we have an issue, it’s easy because I can get online and request the service. AHS usually gets back with me bright and early the next day. I have a lot of people say that they like AHS and I’ve referred a lot of people to them, too.

The dryer was having a loud noise and I didn't wanna keep messing it up so I stopped using it. I called Home Shield and made a claim. My wife was home when the tech came and she said he was in and out in under an hour, explained everything very clearly and was very professional. He did a great job. I liked Home Shield's process. It was very quick and streamlined. The contractor was the quickest out of any company I've ever used. They were fast to call and get text updates. It worked seamlessly so I was very impressed.

My tub was leaking. I called AHS to submit a claim, paid my fee, they then notified me that I’d be contacted by an approved vendor, the approved vendor then called me the day later and scheduled the appointment, and they came out. The technician that came out was responsive, timely and super nice. My experience was fine. I thought it was odd that I had to pay before I was even told who my contractor was, so I could research them and make sure they were reputable. But it all worked out in the end.

I was having a problem with the filter going down all the way on the dryer. Sears sent a tech who was very professional, very kind, and attentive. He repaired my appliance the same day. I got the appointment with American Home Shield. It was in 48 hours, and the tech came on time. I was very satisfied with the whole process.

I called AHS and was gonna do a claim but told the girl to hold off because we were gonna try a couple more things and that I would call back. But she went ahead and submitted it. Thankfully, I got it the next morning after we had tried what we did and I went ahead and did the claim online. So they had to cancel. AHS sent someone out the same day and he was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He had taken care of everything. I was really impressed with the timeliness and he was friendly. Everything was good, except for one thing. He inadvertently did not knock the plug out for the drain for the dishwasher so I thought my dishwasher was messing up.
I called the next day and thought maybe that was what it was. They ended up coming back out very quickly and cut that plug out so my dishwasher would drain. The purpose of me getting the warranty is because it gives me the opportunity to make one phone call and somebody else would take care of everything else instead of having to search around looking for a repair guy. AHS has been a great company. I was very impressed.

DNB Plumbing fixed the problem that I had. They were on time and professional. I've been with American Home Shield for a couple of years, and I like their good support. I don’t like that something is not covered in the policy though. It’s the fine print. Last month, I requested for electric support because it said the ceiling fans were covered, but when I called them, they said it’s not the paddle fan. It’s the ceiling fan for the heater. That was a waste of my time. So, they need to be clear on their wordage of what they cover and not cover. But their service is good when I speak to them.

I never noticed, but the circulation fan on my refrigerator is continuously running. I made a claim online and the tech was in and out. He was personable and professional too. Apparently, the fan is supposed to do that. All in all, Home Shield's price is fair, and the coverage is what I needed. With some of the other plans, we didn't have that amount of flexibility as far as what I wanted or did not want covered.

Having an AHS coverage makes it easy to access and file a claim. In my latest claim, I submitted it over the phone and the representative I spoke with was great. The dryer wasn't heating and then the washer wasn't cycling, and the ZTG Appliance technician came out. He had to leave and get a part but he came right back and fixed on that same day.

We had an issue with the heat which is restarting once the temperature setting was reached. The technician came the next day and solved the problem. Filing a claim with AHS is usually good. However, this is the second claim of a heating issue but a different appliance. Our first claim hasn't been resolved and it's been going on since October. The techs did come out and inspected it but did nothing else after that. I was assuming they were waiting on parts to come in and give us a date for service but that never happened.
I called Home Shield for updates and they also called the contractor. The contractor said they were gonna call me the next day and I've been waiting. They ignore us and there's still no heat in our main room. It's warming up now but we went through the whole winter without heat. Also, we have a newborn so it made it even depressing. I would like it if we can switch the company that handles the issue. If the company that just came can handle this issue, then that would be awesome.

Our upstairs unit was not cooling or heating. We will set the temperature on the thermometer and it wouldn't catch up. I went on the AHS website to file a claim. Their website is pretty solid. The website did tell me that it was assigned to a technician and to expect a call in x amount of days. It was pretty accurate. The guy from All Week was very knowledgeable. The communication could be better because I asked him a few times if he had an idea when the part was gonna be in. I was assuming because he was doing his work and out and about, so he didn't reply to messages as promptly as I would've liked. But overall, it was a great experience. He was professional. We had to replace the coil and we haven't had any issues since he's been out. The unit has been cooling. The experience was very clear. It was an easy and straightforward process.

We were watching TV on a Thursday night and the heater was going. All of a sudden, we heard clicking noises like something was stuck or had fallen off and was going around with the fan. The heater would do that every time it would come on and off. We called AHS because that sounded terrible. We had the tech from AHS's contractor, Applied Air, come out twice for that. They couldn't get out that night the issue started and I was afraid we were gonna have no heat. Their tech came the next day and they were on the spot. The first time he came out, he couldn't find anything wrong with it even though it was making a clicking noise the night before. What had fallen apart may have settled because it wouldn't make a noise while the fan was running anymore. He took the whole thing apart and could find nothing loose or anything that was falling into the fan when it was running.
So, he replaced what he thought was the problem. But then, we had to call him back out because it was still making a noise. The heating unit would do that sometimes when it would turn on but mostly when it would shut off. He was very nice about it and was very willing to come back. He ended up replacing the fan the second time around and we haven't heard the noise since then.
This incident happened during one of the coldest nights we've had this year. There was fear that we would have no heat and couldn't get anybody to come out. The girl whom I talked to at AHS tried calling to see if she could get somebody to come but then nobody would come that night. Another concern was that my pipes were gonna freeze. I asked her if AHS would cover my pipes because they couldn't get anybody out and she said "No".
For 12 years now, we've had American Home Shield and I keep renewing it every year for peace of mind that I won't have to put a whole lot of money when something breaks down. I spend a pretty penny on it every year. We have used the warranty off and on throughout the years. Our hot water tank went out last year and what I don't like about AHS though is that while I have is a high-end hot water tank and a high-end furnace, they won't replace it with what's there. Instead, they replace it with what they wanna replace it with. So, I had to fight with them last year to get an upgraded hot water tank that wasn’t what I had but still better than what they wanted to put in. I went almost three weeks without a hot water tank while we bickered about this.
With AHS, we are not able to get what we have and in a timely manner. Still, their contractors with whom we've worked with are always pleasant to work with. One time, we had an off-brand plumber who came out for our sump pump and they had to come back two or three times until I finally decided they're not getting it. Since then though, we've had decent contractors. We had B&K Plumbing for a while and now we have Kwik Serv. They have been very accommodating. They have done extra stuff for us too since they have been in our house already. I have considered looking into some of the other warranty providers. We had one for my mom’s house when she purchased it a little over a year ago and what she had was horrible. I kept saying to her that I don't have those kinds of problems with my home warranty.

The furnace was not responding to the thermostat and I submitted a claim for it online. The AHS website has always been very accessible. I’ve used that whenever we’ve needed any kind of assistance. All you have to do is put in AHS and it comes up, and our information is there, and it just asks you what you need. We’ve had it for years and I haven't had any difficulties with it. They tell you who is going to contact you and they do. They also let you know who to expect. They text a picture of the service person. I was contacted within hours. It always works that way.
A-1 Quality was totally professional and the service was excellent. Their technician wasn’t in the home very long. It was a relay with the furnace on the roof. He just told us to let him know if there was any other problem. But I haven’t had to call him, so it has been fine. Overall, American Home Shield is reliable. If you have a problem, they just take care of it. I’ve recommended them to other people on more than one occasion.

My plumbing claim went extraordinarily well. I couldn’t be more pleased with it. It took me calling and scheduling and I kinda had to keep on them a little bit. Then, they finally got a tech out to the house. The tech from Parrish Plumbing looked at it and diagnosed the problem. He came out at noon and when I got home at 5:00, everything was already done. They pumped out my septic system and I couldn’t be happier with them with how quickly it got handled.

When I called AHS, Sunbelt Electric came out, fixed my issue and charged my credit card. This was the second time I’ve had them come out for something and so far, they've been really great. They are pleasant, accommodating, and seemed to fix things easily. I couldn’t ask for anything else.

One time, when my furnace went out, AHS saved me a heck of a lot of money. I got a brand-new furnace that’s about $3,500 and back then, my warranty fee was only 45. Recently, I had a claim for my dryer where they sent out a tech from Allstar Appliance. But I kinda wasted money because the line that runs toward the air duct going out that caused the problem was in the house. I thought I snaked it good because I pulled the thing all the way through, but there still was a blockage and that was causing the dryer not to heat properly. So, he told me that I gotta still snake it down, which I did, and that was it.
So, he really didn't do anything and said that he was not allowed to touch anything in the house. But he was friendly and he stuck around while I cleaned it out. He also made sure I cleaned it out the proper way. I thought you could snake it by hand, but he told me to put it on a drill, which I did. So, I got educated a little bit by him.
Other than that, I’m looking at selling the house next year when I retire and move out of state. And I plan on buying a year's worth of American Home Shield for the new people. That was what they did to me when I bought the house, which is good. We're doing a lot of work right now. This house is dated because it was built in the 80s, so we're getting it up to modern. I’ve done the floors and windows, kitchen, and new vanities. I'm also painting the inside and outside. But in case there was anything I missed, at least I know that American Home Shield will cover it if it’s in the house.

In the 15 to 20 years I've been with American Home Shield, they've been very dependable and we've used their warranty on just about everything we have in our home. About a month ago, we had a claim for our dryer as there was an issue with some sort of switch. AHS' contractor, Appliance Repair Time came for service and what was needed was on the tech's truck. The repair went well and now we're all back to normal.
Everything breaks down eventually. Still, AHS takes care of things and they have researched their vendors very well. All of their techs that have come over the years explain what they're doing. They show the part and what they’re gonna replace. They are nice people and they do a good job. Sometimes they can't fix the issue and they have to replace my unit. AHS has done that in the past and their policy has reliability. I have a $75 deductible and they take care of the rest. I'm in the insurance business with Farmers and we recommend people to get AHS' warranty when we write a home loan.

Water wasn't filling up in the washing machine. I called it in, and AHS referred me a technician. When he came out, he took care of it for me. He gave me some advice on what I had to do. I had a thing in on where you put your holes in the tub. I got a digital washer and I had it lying on the floor. He said I needed to pick it up and put it over in the tub for it to fill up and that's what I did.
I've had AHS for about 5 years and I like it when their contractors come and do what they are gonna do with the appliance or whatever it is that needs to be worked timely. The only thing I dislike about AHS is when they raise the amount that they say they're gonna take out without letting me know. If I wanna keep it when they raise it, let me make that choice myself.

The people we bought the house from put AHS on when we bought the house. So we stayed with it and we've been very satisfied with it. The contractors have been really good. We did find one contractor that I thought the world of, but he got here when we needed somebody that we thought the world of it. We found out it was not so good, but other than that, no harm was done. Submitting the claim over the phone is kinda tedious, but when I do online, it's gonna be just as bad. I'm so computer illiterate. But everything that we've had to have done has been done in a timely fashion. The only thing is that sometimes getting parts from there to here takes a long time. But it's like water that will not boil when on there if you're watching it.

I've been with Home Shield for 10 years. I'm satisfied with the call and the service. They cover everything in my house. The only thing that it doesn't cover is the spring in the garage door, but besides that, it covers everything. My recent claim went perfectly. The tech from Access Appliance Repair did his analysis and review and fixed the issue very quickly. It was very fast - within 30 or 40 minutes - but he looked like he really knew. I'm very satisfied with that timeframe.

American Home Shield is wonderful and that is why I signed up some more with them. When I was having a heating issue, their vendor Ashley Air came out the same day. They were awesome and as a matter of fact, I signed up with them to do my regular maintenance. That’s how happy I am with them. My heating has been excellent since their repair.

Instead of going online which is the quickest way to do things, I prefer calling AHS and it's hell to get through to them. It can take maybe 15 minutes or so before somebody comes on the line. Then, in one or 2 days generally, they get somebody out to my home. Out of all the times, there's only been one that I was displeased with since they didn't fix a washer properly. A-US Air Conditioning of Texas was sent out for the heater that sounded like it would kick on or starting to kick on but then it would just fizzle out or drop and die out. Overall, I'm pleased with the contractors or techs.

I like that AHS saves me money when I have a repair. I’ve had two different experiences with Myers Comfort. The first contractor was an older gentleman and the second person was a young guy, but they were from the same company. When the first person came out to deal with the disposal, it was an excellent experience. He replaced everything. They were very friendly and absolutely wonderful. And they fixed all kinds of stuff.
But before that, I had a couple of faucets that were leaking. The person who came out was awful. We had a scheduled time, but I had told him over and over that I could not be there at a specific time because I had to pick up my child from school. He either ran early or late and came right when I told him I had to go pick up my child. He pulled in my driveway and blocked me in. I told him that I had to pick up my child from school. He was very rude. He said that he was busy and that the only other thing he had was across town and won’t be able to come back that day.
He told me that he was gonna leave and not come back if I left to go get my child from school. I ended up calling a friend and getting my friend to go pick up my child from school. And he went inside his car with the door closed and smoked, then he tracked cigarette smoke all in my house. We all had asthma. The customer service was very poor, but he resolved the issue in 10 minutes.

The heat pump needed a repair. I went online to submit a claim with AHS and someone from Changing Winds Heating came out after a couple of days. The tech repaired it right there on the spot, so everything is going good.

My plumbing issue recently was when I would flush the toilet, the water wouldn’t stop running. I called American Home Shield and requested service at my home. The rep I spoke with was very helpful. The rep gave me the name of the company and the phone number. They would get in touch with the company, and the company will call me and schedule the date. The contractor that came out did what he was supposed to do. I was very pleased with his timing. And before he fixed it, he explained to me the problem and what it needed. He replaced it and everything’s operating fine. I was very satisfied. I’ve been with AHS for a few years and I've been very pleased.

Sometimes the reps of AHS could be a little confused, but they were helpful when I let them know what the issue was. And then the contractors call and let me know when they're coming, and I also get an email. Recently the sink and the faucet were leaking. I couldn’t get them regulated so I called AHS and spoke to someone. They sent Grade A Plumbing and the young man let me know that I would be needing a water heater. He was very helpful. He went above and beyond. I was very satisfied with the young man. He was very prompt and didn’t mind looking at anything that I have. In fact, I already recommended them to my friends. I would love to get them back again.

The mechanism that opens and shuts our garage door would open and close partway. It got to a point to where we couldn't even park in the garage because it wouldn't open itself. We'd have to manually open it. The service guy from Arizona Native Garage Doors tried to put a new circuit board and he said it immediately nearly fried it. So he took it out and said the whole thing had to be replaced because it was ruined. He was great and really informational. They had to send someone back a couple of days later to install. He was in and out in probably 10 minutes. He pulled that thing off, put the new one in and installed the new opener to the wall and showed me that it was working. It was really quick and easy. Everything works great now.
This is the third time we've had to do a claim with American Home Shield. We've had them for the last year or two, and it has been really easy to file a claim online. And then, somebody contacts me the next day within 24 hours, and then they were out like the following day. It was really quick. It was a really fast process.

We're going on the second year with American Home Shield and I’ve been very satisfied with their service. They’re very efficient, and they get in there as soon as they possibly can. They’ve been out a couple of times. I usually try to do everything on the phone, but this time, I scheduled the service online. It was very easy. The seal around the door of our Frigidaire dishwasher and the spring to the door were broken. I made the appointment, but it was my husband who was there through the whole thing. He said the tech was very cordial and efficient. The job didn’t take him long and he was out. He ordered the parts, then he came back two days later and put them in with no problem. My husband was very happy with them.

I have a chandelier-type thing hanging from the ceiling and the box apparently broke. So the thing kinda dropped down. The wires were the only thing kinda holding it up. The contractor had to come in and cut the chandelier down, and pulled that old box out and put a new one up, and stick everything back up in there. It was very quick. The guy knew what he was doing and it took him 30 minutes tops to do it.
Submitting a claim is a piece of cake. I do everything online. I go online and click on the submit services request or service ticket, kinda click on a generic issue of what it is and it’s instantaneous. I get a text message saying who my contractor is and then they typically call me if not that day, the next day. So it’s very easy. I had to use AHS about six times over the years and I’ve never once had any issue with anybody that they’ve ever sent out. They’ve all been professional. They came out when they said they were gonna come. It’s been really simple every time. But if I had to nitpick, there was one time I did have a question about my AC and I wasn’t sure whenever I submitted the ticket if what I was submitting was gonna be one or two charges because I have two units. So I called to try to get someone and it took me like 40 minutes to finally get ahold of someone. You’re gonna get put on hold if you wanna speak to someone directly with AHS.

I went to the AHS website to submit a claim. The website is user-friendly, now that I’ve been on it. I can expect contractors out usually within a day or two during the workweek. Somebody had unwired the doorbells and one thing needed a battery. I just typed in what was wrong, they contacted Platinum Heating & Air, made an appointment to come out, and the tech replaced the old doorbell thing that was inside the house.
The only thing is I have to find a 12-volt battery. I looked at the store yesterday and I can’t find one, but that would fix the remote for the backdoor. But while the tech was here, he put in batteries for the actual unit that goes inside the house. The tech came a little late, though. The time period that he gave me overlapped with somebody delivering something. But he was friendly, very thorough, and he showed me how to open everything so I won’t break anything. He showed me how to open up the back of the remote and what to do. He also showed me what kind of the batteries to put in it and replaced the batteries that I had on hand, that size. He put a new doorbell thing outside with a light in it too, so that’s nice. Now I have a working front and back doorbell.

A couple of parts in our sink weren't working. I submitted a claim with AHS and so far, their website has worked fine for me. We'd get an email that said the contractor had been contacted and they'd call us. It would always be clear and I would not be sitting around waiting. For this recent claim, the contractor was NW Sundance Services and the person they sent out was great. He fixed the problem and that was what I wanted. They were also quick, efficient, and flexible. The company seemed to be good and reliable, too. I was really happy and since then, everything's been performing perfectly. All in all, my experience with AHS has been great. They do the work for me that I need to do to find someone reliable, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. And that's the part that I don't wanna do.

So far, I haven’t had any issues with American Home Shield. We've had the warranty for about six years and we’ve had three things worked on, and everything has been good. When I have a claim, I have to call in then at that time, I give them payment. You can probably do it both online and over the phone but I’m the old-fashioned way. I like to talk to someone. They sent out DNS Plumbing once and the company was very good. It also wasn’t very long at all before somebody came out. It was a few days and also, as soon as I had submitted the claim, I got a text message that I would be getting a call. So Home Shield was very good at responding to the order being put in.

American Home Shield was convenient at the time I chose them. I've used them two or three times and I've been happy with it. National Platinum Service recently came out and they were excellent. The ones that came before were among the best, but National Platinum Service did a good job. The tech figured out the problem with the icemaker. There was also a problem with the washer and the dryer. They were all minimal but they took care of that, too. One of them was like a timing issue. They were not major issues, but they were professional. They took care of three problems at the same time.

The first year after we bought our house, the refrigerator went out and was deemed unfixable. I filed a claim and AHS replaced our refrigerator. Then there was a lid that broke on our clothes washer. They shipped the new lid five times to replace it but the lid kept breaking in the mail. So, they replaced our clothes washer. Then recently, an issue came up with the AC and they sent Big Air. I wasn't home when they came but my wife was and she told me that the contractor was respectful. He initially came, diagnosed what it was and then said he had to order the part. He came back a couple of hours later that same day and put the part in. Since then, our AC has been working. Overall, AHS has saved us a lot of money. I'm very happy and it's more than made its money.

I love American Home Shield and they give me peace of mind. I submit my claims online as it is much easier and recently, I filed one for my dishwasher and dryer. They assigned Prestige Appliance Repair to come out and the tech was here four days after I made the claim. I've had him service my appliances before and for this claim, he fixed the problem. My interaction with him was good and since the repair, the appliances have been working fabulously.

Submitting a claim with AHS on the internet was easier than talking. Also, contractors usually call me before they come. When I had a toilet that was leaking, Steven A. Mills Plumbing came out on time and did a good job. They had to replace the big ring that goes between the toilet and the pipe under the toilet.

The heater was not working and Air Climate Solutions came out. It turned out the thermostat was bad so the tech replaced that and now it’s working again. He did really well. We've had Home Shield for five years and they've come out and usually do what we need to have done.

A tech from GE Appliance came out right when he said he would. He called and he was where he said he was. He asked what the problem was, knew it right away and took care of it immediately. The belt had come off because the particular style of washer tub has a gap between the tub and the frame. Stuff had fallen down between that little crack there. He took the top off, took the stuff out, put the belt back on and he was on his way. He was here for 15 minutes. By that time he already was done talking to us about the problem and how we could possibly fix it ourselves if that happened again. We've had AHS for two years and I like the security that someone can come out and fix our appliances and we don't have to worry about it.

I've been with AHS since I moved into this house and the people and the technicians usually respond real quick. I was real leery about it in the beginning when I first got it. But I've never had a problem and that's why I've kept it. I submit claims online and it's very easy. Also, the contractors have all been real good. Coastal Pool Repair came out and looked at the motor for the vacuum pump for the pool that had locked up. The tech repaired it and had it up and running in 45 minutes. He was a real nice guy, very friendly, and explained what was going on. It was the second time he'd been out here. I had an electrical problem with the pool last summer and he came out, looked at it, and had it up and running.

Do not use this company for homeowner's insurance. Expect excessive hold times connected to offshore agents and a network the worst service providers in the country that overcharge or don't show up for a service call. It is a complete waste of money. Everyone at the company I've interacted with was unprofessional and service pricing is significantly higher than market prices. This company is a fraud and should be out of business.

Being a single person, I don’t have anybody to change some stuff for me. I can rely on American Shield and they've never failed me yet. They are very good. I tell my friends to work on trying to get it and they ask what they need to go through to get American Shield. One time, I had a leak in my bathroom and water was backing up under the commode. I plunged it and by the time the plumber got here, it had started then. AHS set my appointment from anywhere between 12:00 and 5:00, but he came before that time and he said it needed to be plunged out from the outside to keep the flow through it. He had to unstop the drain so it could drain through. The plumber was lovely and he was very professional as well as on time.

Federal Electric fixed two ceiling fans. They came out in only a few days after I was on the phone with Home Shield. The tech was very friendly and answered any questions I had. The fans are now working.

I called Home Shield to file a claim and I wasn't happy with the call at all. It's really tough getting through AHS, getting someone that I can understand on the phone and getting to the right person after being transferred. I called a couple of times but essentially, I never got to where I wanted to be and I couldn't file a complaint about it. So, I ended up having to pay the service fee of $100 and pay for the plumber $315 to unclog the toilet.
Though the initial call was fine, the follow-up call stating that they wouldn't cover the claim was very frustrating. No foreign objects could be put down the toilet. The tenants used Cottonelle Wipes, which are flushable as stated on the pack. It wasn't a foreign object but AHS denied covering the said claim. There were also a couple of things they wouldn't cover like my water heater claim. They had to replace the water heater but they had to add an extension tank to it 'cause it was an older tank. I had to pay $900 right away.
The technicians seemed good but I had a really bad problem with a technician, who is based out of Philadelphia, last year. They were the worst and they were like a scam. They had many complaints online about them not doing the work, not following through and not showing up on their appointments. It was a horrible nightmare with them. I filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau. I called AHS back and told them about it. I begged them to get me a second opinion to prove that there was an issue and that everything that the technician were stating was false. AHS sent out another guy who got me a whole new washer.
I have two warranties with AHS and I spend a lot of money on them. I've been thinking about looking into other warranty companies because of the hassle when I call AHS. A lot of times, I can't understand what the reps are saying. The customer service and the hold time is ridiculous so I don't like to file on the phone. It takes a while. Sometimes, I get a call from the tenant and I have to call while I'm driving. I can't go online, which I understand is faster, but it's a process.

I had a really bad experience with a contractor that came for my dryer. They said it needed a part and never kept in touch. Days went by and I'm still waiting on it. I would call and the receptionist who was over the line was a little rude. I had a really bad experience with them and I hope that they don't come and work on anything that we have done in our home. Still, American Home Shield reached out and talked with them. A couple of times that I complained and I called American Home Shield, then the next time when I spoke with the lady, she had a different attitude towards me and handled the situation. American Shield really stepped up to the plate and helped my problem. I've been dealing with them for many years and they do their job very well. I've been really pleased and I'm sticking with them.

We had lots of vapor-locked air in the pipes of our boiler and they thought they got it fixed the first time. But one zone still didn’t work. Cozy Comfort had to come out the next day and got it fixed. They were really good about scheduling it right away and getting right back out because it was quite chilly. It’s the first time I've had a boiler in my house, but I understand that it’s difficult to bleed air out of them. He explained to me that sometimes, it takes a few times to get it. They put four-hour slots because boilers are kinda hard to work on.
It was a learning process for me as well as far as how boiler work goes. I’d obviously like to get it fixed on the first shot, but it was completely reasonable to have to come back. We have family members that have AHS. We had also used another service before and weren’t super-happy with some of the contractors that were sent out to our house. We decided to try a new service and we got AHS when we bought our house for a year from our Realtor and we decided to just continue it.

We've been with AHS for a gazillion years from way back when it was like $45 for a year or something, for a service call. More recently, the East Indian lady that first took our call with AHS was having trouble understanding us since she wrote down that we were having an issue with the kitchen faucet. We called the contractor for AHS, Rooter Express the minute we had a phone number and set up an appointment for the next day. We had to tell the tech that the problem was with our kitchen drain, not our faucet. Still, it was all done promptly. The tech came out and was very efficient. He solved our problem and we are very happy.

We had a porch light that was out and we had a light in the kitchen, like a chandelier, that was not working. And then, the light on the garage door opener was not working too. The person from Ragan & Molinet who came out to fix it was fantastic. He fixed the porch light very quickly. In the kitchen, we did not realize that when the power goes off and when it comes back on, sometimes you have to pull the chain a couple of times to get all four of the lights to come on. It was something that nobody had ever told us and he showed us that. He also did some adjustments out in the garage with the light there. I had been in the technical field most of my life and I was impressed with his skill and knowledge. He also had a young apprentice with him and they did a great job. I would recommend them to anybody.
The only thing that we ran into was that the spring of the garage door was broken and that was not a part of American Home Shield's contract -- they take care of the garage door opener, but they do not take care of any of the mechanisms. It would be good if they did. We had a plumbing issue too, and they used Budget, which was out from St. Peters. Our icemaker had gone out on the refrigerator a couple of times as well, and the people who came out where very knowledgeable. They replaced the icemaker twice in the last six or seven years.
AHS has been a good investment for us. We have been with them for about nine years, and the people that they have sent here to work for them have been great. We have not had anybody come out to repair anything for us who had not been knowledgeable and had not done a good job. There were a couple of times that we did not get a phone call as quickly as we thought we would from the company, but I understood that. So, it may take a day or two before they call us to set up the appointment, but we have not had anything that had been an emergency. If we would have had, they would have expedited it for us. Overall, I would definitely recommend this home warranty company.

The heater was running but producing cold air. It wasn't warming up upstairs enough though it was constantly running. The problem started in the middle of the night and we submitted a claim online with AHS in the morning. The process was great and they sent out from AMP Mechanical HVAC. They have been here three times because they've done our air conditioner a couple of times. They were great and I really liked that company.

I call in to submit a claim as I’m a hands-on person and customer service is usually very good. They’re quick and I'm very happy. I've had the service since 2012 for this house, and probably 5 years before that on another house. The only difficulty with me is the company that comes. We had one before that couldn’t do anything for me. They stayed 15 minutes then left. Recently, my toilets and shower drains were clogged and they sent Robertson Plumbing out. I’ve had them in the past and they came back out and did it lickety-split.

I have four policies with Home Shield. In general, I feel okay, but when I needed them the most, they were not there for me. I had a sudden burst in a pipe in the kitchen that cost me the entire kitchen. I had to take care of it on a Sunday. It was an emergency. I could not wait to call them and have them assign someone, because it was a mess all over. After I fixed everything a few months later, I submitted to Home Shield the plumber’s receipt which I paid on the same day. They said they weren't gonna honor my claim because I should have called them first.
Even if I called them on that Sunday, I don’t think they're gonna have somebody there right away, knowing the volume that they work with and it’s a Sunday. Even if they did, I had to contain the damage because every moment, it gives me more damage issues. There was no time to call them just to let them know. And they're not gonna send anybody right away anyway. I was very disappointed after having four properties with them since at least 1994. But with another plumbing issue I had, Plymwr Plumbing came out the following day after I submitted the claim.
We do apologize that the plumbing issue was not handled in a timely manner. We understand that time is of the essence due to damages can occur. We will take into consideration this matter. The furnace would not stay on and this was the first time I ever had a claim with American Home Shield. I did it over the phone and it took about a week and a half for the contractor to come. But it was a scheduling issue on my part. The guy was very professional and he was quick.

I had a heating claim with AHS and everything went well. Three Brothers came and they said that there was no real problem. They just needed to tie the pipes back to secure them to the ceiling and to the side of the wall. The cords that were holding them up had loosened up, so they put new straps on and stapled them back to the wall. They checked the upstairs AC as well. They didn't find anything other than three minutes to tie that up. I was very comfortable with them. They were very professional, very courteous, and very quick. I asked them to look through the second part, which was on a third floor scale up in an attic. They were there between 20 and 30 minutes.
Because I didn't know the magnitude of the problem, I called American Home Shield. If I had a person who could've just gone up and looked at it, they could've tacked that back up. If I had know that's all it was, I would've tacked it back up. I was afraid that the cylinders or the tubes had dropped away from the vents, and that was why I needed a professional. Three Brothers assured me that it was still flowing through the vents and it was just the cords having broken loose half a period of time.
I've had American Home Shield since I bought my home in 2007. It went along with buying into a new home in the community in a city that I'm not familiar with, and knowing that I would be one of two people living there who really didn't have the connections. I had my own set of people when I lived outside of Texas. I had my own plumber and carpenter I worked for. The school district then had a neighbor who was a contractor who had all of these people available to me. But here, I didn't have that, so American Home Shield seemed to be my best choice because they had everything on one roof.
It's a little expensive though. When we first started, it wasn't $75 a call-out. Sometimes, like this recent claim, it could've been done for about $5 or $10 or 10 minutes and a nail. Other than that, I would rate American Home Shield very highly at this point. I've had a few other situations where I've had to complain, but it wasn't American Home Shield, it was the actual contractor.

My claim with AHS went really well. It was quick, fairly painless to set up, and easy. It was even set up in advance of our contract actually being activated. I didn’t realize that at the time. We signed it and got an acknowledgement of it, but it hadn’t been activated because they hadn’t gotten the funds from the closing. But they sent the tech out and he fixed our electrical problem. He was very professional and was in and out within about 30 minutes. He knew what he was doing. He knew what he was looking for, found it fairly quickly and took care of it quickly, and we’ve been fine since.

Somebody came to drywall my wall because the faucet in my bathtub was leaking. They replaced that and they left a hole in my wall. And Vaughn McAllister was the contractor that came to patch the hole. Submitting claims with American Home Shield has been pretty good. I just submitted my claim, they had somebody come and look at the work, they ordered the part that I needed for this latest experience, and then they came and installed it.
Overall, the contractors that AHS sends out have been great. The plumbers were excellent. They did a fantastic job. They were very thorough and they’re experienced. I had one contractor come before to look at the stove and they told me that they were gonna order a part and then they were gonna fix the stove. That was over a year ago. They never came back. But this latest experience was definitely pleasant.

We’re in the process of looking to sell the home. And the unit on the property is an older unit, so we were having it inspected to make sure that there wasn't anything wrong with it, that it still functions properly. I’ve had AHS on that home for about six months. I had AHS on my own personal home longer than that as well. This was the first time that I’ve submitted a claim with AHS and it was really easy. It wasn’t a really long wait period compared to other call centers or trying to get into any customer service representatives. They were really nice. They put in the work order to have both the accounts linked online for me, as well as setting up the service for the technician to come out and inspect it. They did everything that they could to help me to make sure that I was taken care of from beginning to end. The contractor came out the next day. There weren’t any issues with the unit. He confirmed that everything was working and in order. It was just an older unit.

When I signed up with AHS, I specifically told them that it was a three-family home. They quoted me a certain price, but when I had someone come out, that technician reported back to AHS. He said that it was a three-family home and AHS wanted to cut my services. I said that they need to check their tapes because I clearly said that it was a three-family home and that whatever price they quoted me was what I was gonna continue to pay. Also, you can’t really understand their customer service reps. They have people in other countries doing it and there's a communication barrier. However, one of them was good. She did everything over the phone and was very cordial.
As soon as I submitted my heating claim, I contacted Liberty because my tenant didn’t have heat. I asked when they could come out and they were able to come out the next day. I also told them to have the tech call me 30 minutes before he comes. But he didn't. The tenant said the tech was okay. He checked out the heater and found out that the issue was a motor. I also called the Liberty people to make sure that the tech was out there. They said that the guy was there, but had to run out to get a piece and that everything would be all right.

When All Hours Emergency Plumber came out a couple of days after I submitted the claim to Home Shield, the main leak was in the faucet. It was really leaking around that so that's what the tech and I both thought was the problem. When that was replaced, it wasn't leaking up there by the faucet at all. But then, I washed some clothes and I noticed another leak. I thought maybe it was no big deal. I washed some more clothes and it flooded in there. So, it's a big leak. I thought this leak had to come from the faucet but apparently, it was just starting out and you couldn't see it that well until it's just gushing through. They're coming back for a re-call. The tech was great, very professional, and efficient. He knew what he was doing and he showed me what he was doing. But I'm not real happy with the people who came out for the air conditioning. I just hope I don't get them again. Other than that, I feel pretty good about Home Shield.

I've had AHS since 2013 and I've been pleased with them. I continue to renew with them because of their excellent service and they keep the service fee to a minimum. Every time I've called, they’ve been on top of everything. I've also had good experience with their vendors too. Recently, my garage door wasn’t opening. The technician came out, he checked my clicker and the actual motor itself. And he found out it was the clicker. He got it working very quickly and was very efficient. He took care of it the same day and made sure that everything else was working properly. He was on time, very professional and very knowledgeable.

Good Guys was very efficient, very knowledgeable on what was going on, very polite, courteous to my concern, and they showed me what was going on with the appliance after they finished it. Some of the companies that American Home Shield uses need some improvement. I had one prior to Good Guys that I wasn't pleased with. It was Tiger Plumbing. When the plumber came out, he wasn't friendly and then he diagnosed the wrong thing. As a matter of fact, he cut a hole in my wall. He told me that I had a stoppage in my tub. I had kept calling him on the phone and my 90 days lapsed. He never returned my calls.
After my 90 days lapsed, I had to pay another $75. The company sent me somebody else instead of him. So, when they sent me Tiger Plumbing, the guy looked at the situation and it was something totally different. My toilet was leaking that was why the water was on the floor. So, I was out $150 because of the misdiagnosis from the first plumber. I've had American Home Shield for over 30 years. Because I put all this money and time in it, I just stuck with it. But I haven't had any issues with submitting a claim.

I was having issues with being able to smell exhaust in my house. I called in a claim with AHS and the first people that they sent out came over on a weekend. He did mainly plumbing, so he knew nothing about my heater. He said most people around here had boilers and there were waters involved, but mine is a forced air. He recommended Comfort Air Mechanical, which was the company that worked on my heater years ago. When AHS sent out Comfort Air, the guy that came over knew what he was doing. He was able to fix the issue but they had to wait for approval from American Home Shield for a switchboard that was inside the heater in my house. They got that pretty fast but it took quite a while for American Home to approve the service for the motor for the exhaust fan up on my roof that is connected to the heater. When the contractor finally got the approval, the tech came over right away and fixed it. And now, it works good, so I'm happy with it.
So far, I have AHS on my home for about two years now. I also have an apartment on my property that we built for my mother years ago. It's like a guesthouse now and I also have that included on my policy in case anything goes up there. That's a major thing because I'm a widow and on a fixed income. I can afford to pay the little bit for the insurance once a month, but if I were to have a big repair bill for something, it would be very hard on me financially. So, I am happy with AHS.

The broiler was broken and I submitted a claim for it over the phone. It was very quick and efficient. The AHS rep was great and I was told to expect a contractor out between noon and 4:00. The guy from Sears came out and he was very prompt. He fixed it right away and left. Everything is good. I've had American Home Shield for a few years and it's wonderful. I'd tell my friends and family to get it.

I called my claim in and they took care of it. The contractor came when they said they would and they did what they said. It was like talking to your old buddy. They went out their way to get it done. They didn't have the parts for the dryer so the tech went all the way back to his shop and found the part out of another dryer to put it on there. It works perfectly. It could not have went any better.

Sometimes I like American Home Shield but sometimes I don't. We've been with them for 15 years. But sometimes, I feel that they should take care of certain things and they don't. Also, some contractors are good and some of them are not so good. But I would tell American Home Shield to send somebody else. The last one we had was fine though.

Aloha Pacific came out for a pump that needed to be replaced. The contractor was diligent in being here. We've used them before with the two claims that we've put in with AHS, and he's very good. The quality of work appears to be excellent. I've been a loyal AHS customer for years and I'm gonna continue to do so. The service is excellent. The people are wonderful.

Our water heater wasn’t working properly and I called American Home Shield on Wednesday. The technician came on Thursday, and he was great, nice and friendly. He made an effort to get the job done and did it on the same day. I had no problem with him at all. This is our second year with AHS and I’m very satisfied with them.

My propane hot water heater had some type of a valve that wouldn’t ignite. I called American Home Shield first and York Mechanical Services came out. They replaced the hot water heater and they were excellent. Since they’ve been out, everything has been great. I've been with AHS since 2011 and I would recommend them and the warranty on a home. It’s good value.

I got Home Shield right after I bought my home. I've had them for three years, going on four. The last visit I had was for my dryer. Sometimes I would submit claims online when I'm driving because that's when I have peace of mind. So, most of the time, I called in and got somebody help me through it. Holiday Business Group came out the next day. It was real quick. It wasn't more than two days because I had to wash clothes. And then, the tech was real nice. I felt like when he left, he was a friend. I'm washing clothes now. I love Home Shield. When I hear about people talking about they got stuck on a part, I would be like, "Y'all gonna get American Home Shield."

We bought a used home here in Vegas and our realtor recommended American Home Shield. I was very impressed with my claim where Integrity Appliance Repair out, and I'm glad I have my warranty on the house. The splash shield exhaust system of the stove did not function at all. It is the only exhaust system we have in the house and it works, but it is not as efficient as you would think for an updraft exhaust system because it is a squirrel cage type. The contractor came out, found the problem, and replaced the part. It was perfect. He was professional. In submitting the claim, I took my warranty information out and called the number on the warranty paperwork. The representative I dealt with was excellent. The whole process, from the time I called to the time that the technician showed up to the time of completion, took a week. Everything has been functioning very well since then.

The dryer had stopped so I went online and followed the direction for claims with AHS. Technicians came two days later and they were professional and they figured out what was wrong with it before they even dug into it. The dryer's doing good ever since.

My dryer was making a terrible noise and there was a lot of friction. I phoned American Home Shield about it and they sent Active Appliance Service. The contractor replaced the belt and a little wheel. It was paid for and then he left the receipt. They said that it will be good for my grandchildren now. When I make a complaint, AHS will get another vendor out there and they will fix it. I've had vendors who come and try to cheat you, but not these guys. I've been with this warranty company for more than five years and I pay my monthly. Having AHS is worth it. If something were to breakdown, at least they would come. We like it because of our air conditioning, washer, and dryer. We also used to have a garage. The water heater was a good experience. Even though they prorated it, we ended up getting money for it, so we could give it towards the new one because it eventually died out.
