I had a plumbing issue and American Home Shield sent A & M Plumbing. They took care of everything, and I haven't had any issues since then. They were here for about an hour and a half. It took a little while for them to resolve the issue because they had to redo the whole thing. They were friendly and good, too. I love having the home warranty. It is definitely great.

Our dishwasher wasn’t pumping any water. The tech had to replace the motor on it. He had to order the part, and he came back and put the part in. He was great, very knowledgeable, courteous and very prompt. He did a great job.

Ambient Air was very informative. First, they let me know what was wrong with my AC system. Second, they told me what I needed to have corrected and that they would get back with Home Shield to see how they needed to proceed. They said Home Shield will contact me and that's exactly what happened. When Ambient Air got an okay to do the repair, they came out in a timely manner. They did an excellent job and my air is now working. This is my first call with Home Shield and so far, I'm very pleased with them. They followed the contract and I would not have known what companies to contact, yet they did that for me.
They selected an exceptionally good group of people handle my issue as well. I would definitely recommend my family members and friends. For me to recommend them to anyone that I'm connected to, that means I think highly of the company. From my experience, I feel comfortable knowing that if I have any problem with anything that I got covered, it would be well taken care of. Especially during these times, I need to know that I have some type of warranty or someone I can call directly that would take care of my issues without me having to go and try to find reputable persons.

We moved in, and we immediately had an issue a few days later. We went online to submit a sink stoppage claim and it was easy. The claim went well too. The contractor communicated really well. There was a lot of text message updates saying when they were on their way, so we had a heads up when they’d arrive. The guy arrived right at the beginning of the time window we were given and he was great. He was professional. He took care of the issue and addressed it. Overall, the experience was seamless from the user end.

At first, with all these problems I had going on, I wasn't sure about getting an appointment with American Home Shield but their service was fantastic. I went online and I got a message back and said to call. Then I tried calling that number, but they ended up calling me and I had gotten an appointment for the next day. It was really quick getting a response back. The technician was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I was very pleased with getting this washer fixed and it was a simple fix that he knew. I also had one other previous call with an electrician and I had no problem with them too.

American Home Shield has been great. There have been a couple of things they fixed for me. When a plumbing on the filter leading to the backwash broke down and the PVC pipes were broken, I called them. I started out with the automated system but I ended up speaking to a representative. They said that the contractor they selected would contact me with the time that they could be here and that’s exactly what happened. The tech that came, Jason, was outstanding. At another time, the dishwasher needed a control board and American Home Shield recommended a contractor. They came out and they were outstanding too.

After paying to repair my air conditioner, I decided I needed to get a home warranty. I remembered I had been getting emails from American Home Shield that I didn't pay attention to. I went with them and one time, I put in a claim for another air conditioning issue. AHS had their contractor reach out to me and I dealt with their tech from there. They worked as fast as they good. With all the stuff going on, the mail has slowed down and the tech was appreciative that I was understanding that it was not his fault that he can’t get the compressor needed.

Herbert Plumbing's contractor replaced the water heater. I put in the claim at Thursday and then he replaced it Monday, because there was a weekend in there. He was great. Everything was good. Our only issue with this claim was there was a bigger fee than we expected. In the past, every time we got something fixed, we just paid our deductible. But this time, maybe because of the age of our water heater or something, we ended up having to pay an additional $600 out of pocket. So, the contractor didn't say what Home Shield covered and what his fees were. We've been paying for this service that we think is going to cover a repair and then the contractor came and it was, "Well, we don't cover your repair." That was disappointing because we've been paying Home Shield for five years now. We tried calling them but unfortunately, you get some call center and it's really difficult to understand them.

I submitted a claim online to AHS because the hot water heater went out. The website was fine. Then I got an email and someone called me. Everybody was great. The contractors came out and checked the issue. The other guy came out the next day and installed the hot water heater. So far, so good.

I have rental houses. Stuff would break and it would be a pain to get contractors. My real estate agent who also had rental properties told me it's easier to have a warranty for a lot of the smaller problems. I got AHS and one time, I had some issues with a couple of switches for lights as well as a couple of outlets that weren't working right. I went online and submitted a claim to American Home Shield. Their contractor from Hopwood Electric, LLC came and he was really good. I've been happy with my AHS warranty.

Submitting a claim for a plumbing issue to American Home Shield was very easy. I called and their rep started sending me notifications on who they picked to do the job. Circle Mechanical handled my claim very professionally. The worker who came out gave me a notification when he was heading my way. He was prompt and did a great job. Each claim has a deductible of $75 with AHS which is a great price for what people get. I was very satisfied with their service and I have already paid for an additional year with them.

I love Home Shield. Recently, an issue came up with my dryer. I filed a claim online and it was very easy. A tech from United Services was here the next day and he fixed it in 10 minutes.

I submitted a claim to AHS because the outside unit wasn’t coming on and I could hear the blower running in the inside. So, when the technician checked it out, he said it was a contactor that he had to replace. It didn't take long to do it. The reps of AHS were very fantastic, considering everything that we’re going through in our country. I was very impressed. Everything happened so quickly.

I did a bunch of searches and talked to different people that had home warranty companies. Home Shield did pretty good. I’ve been fairly impressed and pleased with their timeliness when I had to call. They’re quick to respond. The latest contractor that came out was for my AC. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was quick to get things done and answered any questions I had just because I haven’t done a whole lot with this type of stuff. We’ve been through some things that happened where I couldn’t pay a bill and they were very kind to let me pay it later without hurting me too much so it has been really neat. They’ve been really helpful folks.

I’ve used Flash Garage Door Services through American Home Shield on two different properties. They were pretty prompt and real courteous. And they fixed the problem on both of them. For my last claim, the actual shaft that drives the chain had broke and I requested for a service online. The website of AHS was plenty user-friendly and within about 30 minutes, I had a text telling me the techs would be out the next day. They were great and the guys that came were professional. They got in there, did their work, and left.

I called Home Shield because there was so much wrong with the house when I first moved in. The contractor did not show up when they were supposed to, which was the 9th. But they called and asked to send a message to reschedule it for the 17th and they came. They said they couldn’t fix the stove. Then, I called and put the claim in for Home Shield to come out to check out the dishwasher because the water was running out. The plumber that they initially sent said it wasn’t the sink or the garbage disposal and that it was the dishwasher. When the tech came, he said it was not the dishwasher, it was the garbage disposal. He showed me where it was. They responded promptly and they proved it wasn’t the dishwasher. The tech looked at the refrigerator while he was here and said there was nothing wrong with it. He said I had an overflow where the ice is, which wasn’t coming out.
Also, I called in for the washer and dryer and I’m not satisfied with that claim. There was something wrong with the balance of it. The GE tech they sent out told me there was nothing wrong with the washing machine and I just had to make sure the load was balanced, that way it would stay stable when it's washing. I have never in my life heard of anything like that before and there is no reason for this washing machine to walk from the back wall to the front wall. Home Shield needs to reassess who they do business with. But I was quite happy with the GE tech that was sent out regarding the electrical part in the circuit breaker box. He identified what the problem was, verified that the wire had melted, checked the breaker, assessed the whole situation and quickly fixed it.

Our ice maker quit working. My husband called American Home Shield and their contractor, The Fridge Guy, came out and looked at it. The tech figured out what the issue was. He ordered the part and came at the time he said he would. He was pleasant too. This claim was very well executed by AHS.

The temperature of the front left burner would go up and stay up no matter what setting it was on. I then went online and had to find my account number -- everything was smooth. And then I had somebody calling me and we set up a date for Sears of Kansas City to come out and take a look at what was going on. After that, they ordered the part. When it got here, someone else came back and put it in. We didn’t have to call anymore or do any more paperwork. It was one email and it was very simple. It has been working fine now after they put the part in. I’ve been living here for about 13 years and some of my appliances are old, like my washer and dryer is at least 13 years old. They are still functioning fine, but we said, “We might as well protect them if we can,” so we got American Home Shield.

Compared to the warranty I had, Home Shield appeared like they covered more and they cost less. One thing I'm very dissatisfied with them is that I put a work order for my furnace in November of 2019 and I don’t think they covered what they should have. One of the companies that they sent out here, Southern HVAC, did a preventive maintenance check. They kinda found some issues, but they said they couldn’t submit that to the home warranty because it was just preventive maintenance. I had to pay another service call fee and the people never came back out. But then they submitted to the warranty company. They said the whole furnace needed to be replaced and my wife and I had to pay about $1,200 out-of-pocket. Home Shield said we can do a cashout and they said that they would pay up to 400 and some dollars to get somebody else doing it. But if I’m already paying $1,200 for fittings and extension, then that’s not doing me any good.
We would have to see about how we can come up with that kinda money to get the furnace replaced because the gas company came by and said that the furnace is not safe to use because it could let out carbon monoxide and that’s deadly. Also, they said if the gentleman just came out, they should have sucked all that extra debris and there's a switch that has to be cut off for the furnace to cut on or it won’t turn on. There were all these things that the contractor didn’t do. I talked to two reps at American Home Shield and they said that it had been 60 days and the claim had expired. We gotta pay another service call fee just to get them to come back out. But with the dryer claim I had, Green's Appliance set an appointment the very next day. They fixed the issue, which was a timer switch and they did a great job.

The people that answered the phones on the call center are very difficult to understand and they seem to repeat a lot of the same thing. Still, when they sent out Professional Plumbing Services, they were on time and everything is well. Having a home warranty is an absolute requirement and I've had American Home Shield for 10 years.

I like the fast service if I needed to get something done. And when I call, the contractor usually scheduled it pretty quick. For our recent claim, the plumber came out after only a couple of days which was not bad, considering everything that's going on. I love Home Shield. However, I’d like to speak to someone that speaks English. They connected to a call center, which I understand, people have to work. But sometimes, the translation gets a little lost. But otherwise, it has been okay. The toilet sounded like it was running all the time or flushing by itself. And apparently, there was a leak somewhere that Circa Mechanical had to fix. It sounded like it was pretty involved when the guy was in there. He did a lot of work and got it all done in one day. He was very friendly.

A friend of mine recommended Home Shield. I had some questions about the first contractor, but the second fellow came out and immediately told us that on the previous visit, the tech discovered that the refrigerator was defective but he didn’t say anything to me. So when I called back and got the second tech, he said he noticed in the notes that the refrigerator was defective and that he would send in to the company and let them know that the refrigerator needed to be replaced. I replaced it last month.

I called American Home Shield and I spoke to someone. I let them know exactly what was going on with the switches and how many I had that were not working. I had a switch that wouldn’t turn on and there was another one, one of those bypass type switches, that was not working at all. It went out and was bad. The rep sent me the information on the contracting company, Hopwood Electrical. She told me who was gonna come then she emailed it to me as well.
The tech came out and I showed him the switches then he went and fixed whatever needed to be fixed. Afterwards, he asked me to make sure if everything was okay and if I needed anything else. He was perfectly fine and really professional. He came in and he knew exactly what to do. I didn't have a problem with the electrical company. That was wonderful. But I've had two companies come out here. The other one was for appliances and I had an issue with them. Home Shield told me that I had to find an electrical person to deal with the problem I was having with my oven. But I couldn’t get in contact with them.
Nonetheless, I love American Home Shield. The only thing I have an issue with is when it comes time for renewal. I know I’m busy and when it comes time for renewal, I forget to call them. It happens every year. I’m also not so much familiar with their services. So I would like to have someone call me before renewal to give some tips. If there’s a next step available where something else could be given to me, to see if there’s something else I need that can be covered, I would like to know. I wish that they could really explain some of the things more. That aside, my experience is good. I have very good rapport with them.

The contractor came out for a refrigerator issue, and then they came out for my home heating system about a week later. They fixed both issues. With the refrigerator, one of the blowers was bad and they had to order the part. Then my heater was blowing cold air and they said the pilot light went out and there was some tube that they had to clean and resand because it got corrosion on it. They did a fast job. They were here, they got it done and they were out the door. They were professional and courteous. I couldn't have been more happier.

I love American Home Shield. The service is so convenient and efficient. It’s great. I had Jones Family Appliance come out once to take a look at my washer which wasn’t spinning and they also came out to take a look at my fridge which was not cold anymore. I filed my claim online and the techs came out in less than 24 hours afterwards. They were very pleasant, very nice and personable. They got the job done very quickly as well. It was really a positive experience. I’ll be happy to work with them in the future.

We've had Home Shield for at least seven years and they've been very good to us. We had a water spot in our ceiling in the kitchen once and we figured it was coming from the upstairs bathroom. I made a request online and that was super easy and simple. Five days later, a very nice guy came and went up there with me to help me try to diagnose the problem. It was great. Since Home Shield doesn't fix the drywall and I wanted to minimize cutting a giant hole in my wall, I told him I didn't want to cut into the walls and things. He gave me some advice on what we could do to see if it was a real problem or not, like putting more caulk around the tubs and different cracks. He pointed out a number of different cracks, so we did that. He also told me that it's under a 60-day warranty, so if it doesn't work, then he would come back again. Now, we're just waiting to see if that takes care of it.

I called the claim in to American Home Shield, but the contractor took a while ‘cause Sears was supposed to contact me. I then called back to get in contact with Sears, and then they put me in contact with All Brand Appliances. They came to my house and fixed my ice maker. It's working now and I'm very satisfied with AHS.

My condenser was freezing over. So, I cleaned it myself, and then it froze over again, so that's when I put in a claim to American Home Shield. Hedberg came in and said the system was working well. It was a little low on Freon, so they put a little bit of Freon in it. They said that was gonna be no cost. Everything else looks fine, the condenser coil just needs a deep cleaning and that is not covered. It would have to be out of pocket. The deep cleaning would consist of cutting it out and power washing it. It's a whole process. They said that's the only thing they could think it could be because all the numbers are running well. But ever since they came by and they put the Freon, the AC has been working amazing. It's running better than it was before.
American Home Shield did great. I actually have a situation right now. I also had another ticket in for Best Tex Plumbing. They put in the approval for a toilet. My toilet is literally off the floor, broken, all from the bottom out. So, they were trying to see if they can get the approval expedited. That's what I'm just waiting on now because I had a whole bunch of water all over the floor, which has been cleaned up but I got a hole in the ground because the toilet's destroyed.

My claim with American Home Shield went pretty smoothly. I just purchased the new appliance right through them, so I didn't have to have anything upfront. The contractors they sent out were very friendly. I did my claim online. It was very speedy. On the most recent one I did, the contractor was here the same day I put the claim in. The whole Corona thing was going on, so maybe they weren’t busy, but it worked so good for me. Also, they protected themselves as well as us very well.

When my water heater was leaking, I did the claim, as I typically do, online. It was pretty simple – just a couple clicks and that’s it. The contractor would notify me. First Response was also able to come out relatively quickly as contractors usually do. This guy was excellent too. He identified the problem and told me what he thought needed to be done and that he would take care of things on his end. So I was very impressed. I was very satisfied and would highly recommend American Home Shield to anybody. I got the warranty because we had just bought our home and it was an older home. Plus I had never owned a home before. But having to rent homes, I know that things go wrong. I wanted the peace of mind because I know I can’t afford all the new appliances.

I submitted a claim to AHS and they told me they would have their contractor out within a day. AM PM Plumbing came out and they were on time. They were very professional and they fixed the leak in my plumbing. Things have been fine since then.

Our AC had a problem. It was a Sunday and we needed somebody right away. We had an air conditioning company come out, one of the biggest ones here, and our bill was estimated to be $22,000. I told them that was ridiculous, so they dropped the price down to $17,000. I still told them it was ridiculous, then they took down another few hundred dollars.
So, I called American Home Shield and told them that we needed somebody out. And they got somebody out from A-US Air Conditioning of Texas the following day. When their tech came in, it turned out that I didn’t need the entire system replaced. All I needed was a fan and the gentleman that handled it was in and out. Since we didn’t want to be within six feet of each other because of the virus, he stayed outside completely and did everything in the garage, up in the attic, and six feet away. He also asked me to set our thermostat on this and that, then he knocked on the door a couple more times and told me what to do with the thermostat. I couldn’t be happier with the service and he was as first class as you can get. Not only was he efficient and did it like he was supposed to, but he was also a clean and nice guy.

AHS has been very good for me. For my recent appliance claim, their contractor, Sharper Service Solutions, was absolutely outstanding. It was unfortunate that they found three problems. Still, AHS was very simple about getting it all done. I also have AHS's warranty at my beach house in Grapeview. There, it's a little tougher to work with the warranty 'cause there aren't a lot of service providers. Anything AHS can improve there would make it easier for me to contact third-party providers and get them paid. I've had AHS for almost two years now for my beach house and for five months for my primary residence. I'm considering buying their warranty for all my rentals. I'm a happy customer.

My AC wasn't turning on one time. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield and their guy from Total Air Care came and did a good job. It turned out that a line was clogged. There was something that would come up and when the water hits that, it stops the AC. He cleaned up after himself and made sure that things were the way they were when he got to my location. I've been with AHS for a couple of years now. I had an occasion when I had a problem with two of my ACs which I fixed on my own before their guy had a chance to come over. I had no problems getting my money refunded. I'm quite pleased with this warranty.

Our AC unit was running constantly whether it was the heat or the cooling system, especially when it would get warm outside. Now, spring is starting down here in Georgia. The AC would get down to 74 even. We didn’t have it super high and 10 minutes later, it’d be running again. I made a claim with AHS and they sent out AAction Air. When they first came out to kinda check out the condenser outside, I wasn’t sure if it was an issue there or a short in the system. They went and looked at the Freon and found a giant leak. They told that the system was just eating the Freon and it was losing it like crazy. They took care of all that. They were awesome. I got a call from AHS saying that they've decided that the system that’s up in the attic needed to be replaced so they replaced that.
We did AHS during closing and it was at the end of August when my coverage started. We had a good experience with a couple of calls that we’ve had to make. I made one for pests, one for the AC and for something else. Everything’s been great so far. The techs were always on time and they always called when they were on their way. They were very professional and very easy to work with. We’re pretty sure we’re gonna go ahead and renew with AHS when it’s time for us to talk about it. As long as things look good, we’re gonna probably plan on renewing the home warranty for another year or so at least.

I had a couple of service calls during my first year with American Home Shield. The very first service call was extremely frustrating because it was clearly a breach of contract. I work with construction law a lot. The contract states it covers all defects and labor. There was poor labor or installation on the water heater and they would cover the cost to replace the water heater but it was just the water heater itself. They would not cover the cost for the shoddy labor. On top of that, the plumber that American Shield used was price gouging substantially. He was changing maybe 15 feet of PVC and he wanted to charge over $2,000 for that. The materials alone were $30. Being in construction and knowing what things cost, I was furious. I just fixed it all myself.
AHS could’ve been honest. The sole purpose of the lady on the call was just to argue and was trying to create a gray area. But the contract was black and white. Had I wanted to take that to a legal approach, AHS would've lost completely. That’s not how you take care of customers. If it’s clear-cut like that, you need to do the right thing and take care of your customers.
But the following couple of service calls to AHS were proper. It was worth the peace of mind in case the HVAC system broke down. I gave AHS one more year to see how they would do. So far, I’ve been happy with them. I used them for a spa claim and they had Expert Pools come out. They were absolutely awesome. I got text messages on the way before and after from an arrival standpoint. The tech fixed the problem very rapidly so it was one of the best service calls I’ve ever experienced.

A part of my hot water heater went out so I called American Home Shield to submit a claim. The contractors came and fixed that. And then, we called them again 'cause I have a gas leak, but then they said that they weren't servicing Victoria anymore. So now, we're currently trying to find someone to come fix that. The contractors that came were great. My problem is with AHS. I can't get anything done. Every time I call them, it's like I'm having to find my own company right now. They send me 15 companies that they don't deal with. I'm like, I pay $77 a month for American Home Shield, and I'm still having to try to find someone to come out and fix my gas leak. Also, they were telling me that I was gonna have to pay for it upfront and never gonna pay me back. I told them, "Nope, I'm not doing that either because that's why I pay my $75 fee that I've already paid them." I'm not very happy with AHS at the moment.

I got a warranty from AHS because somebody I knew had used AHS for years and were happy with them. The vendor that came for our recent claim was great, professional and clean. He told me what he would do if he couldn’t fix it right on the spot. He told me about how many days to expect and came back right when he said and took care of it.

My recent claim with AHS regarding our plumbing went great. The issue was the water heater. I called one day and the contractors came out the next day and replaced it the next day. It was all done within a couple of days. They were very quick. Our coverage with AHS is good. It would have been nice if they covered the permits that needed to be pulled, though. But they're pretty responsive and they called to follow up and make sure that I got the service, so I appreciated that.

When my disposal was not grinding at all, filing the claim for it was extremely easy. I put the claim in around 9:30 and I instantly got an email stating that AHS had received my claim and then within five minutes, they told me who the company that was gonna be contacting me was. That company called me at 10:54 AM and said that they could have somebody here between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. I looked at the clock and said that 11:00 AM was in six minutes. I was told that they have a contractor out in the field and their appointment just got canceled. The contractor was here by 12:30 and was done by before 1:00.
I felt really good making the first call to AHS because I was so educated before I even signed up with them. I called them when I was shopping and the person on the line was so informative that it made the decision really easy. The rep went through all the different scenarios and what he recommended as our plan. I've recommended AHS to another person who was looking for a home warranty company. I said that I just had my first experience with them and it was unbelievable.

Home Shield has always been right on top of it and I have service with them a couple of days usually after I’ve requested a claim. We had a bedroom light that was flashing. It would be on for a little while, and then it would almost strobe. It was annoying. Ragan and Molinet Electrical had to come twice. The tech did what he thought it was the first time and then the problem came back that evening. They were back a couple of days later and we’ve had no other problems since then in our home. The tech said he did everything he could. If that didn’t fix the problem, then he would have to go into the wall, and we hoped not to have to do that, but he seemed to have fixed it. He was great. He was very personable and professional. He explained everything to me, told me what he was going to do, and what he did. I was very happy with him. I’ve always been really happy with Home Shield.

The latch on the dishwasher was broken. I tried to fix it, but it was obvious it was broken. When we called American Home Shield it turned out that was the correct evaluation. The process was pretty smooth. The contractor called us about when they were coming out and narrowed the time down from 8:00 to 5:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon. The guy got here a couple of minutes late, but he figured out what was wrong, ordered the parts, scheduled another appointment. We got the parts on Thursday night, and I called Friday so they showed up Saturday. The guy replaced the door gasket. It took him probably less than 30 seconds to put the part in. It was fixed. He did it flawlessly.

My furnace wasn’t working. Submitting the claim with American Home Shield was pretty easy once I figured out how to do it online. I’m starting to do my claims online. In the past, when I did one before, I did it on the phone. But this time, I was able to do it online, and it worked out fine. C and R Repair came out three times but they were always out the next business day. They were great. I was very pleased with the techs and their professionalism. I highly recommend them. Since the repairs, I now have heat. It’s wonderful. We’re really happy with AHS because this would’ve been about a $900 repair. And I got peace of mind knowing that it’s there and I can call them and they take care of everything.

None of the outlets were working outside and that was when the technician came in. It was pretty easy to submit the claim with AHS. But the categorization of the issues is limited. It would’ve been better where I could put a little bit of explanation of what the issue was. Other than that, the technician from Ryco Electric came within 48 hours and they fixed the issue right away. The gentleman fixed one breaker and the other two were not fully functional, but he said he couldn't replace per the guidelines because he was able to get the power in it even though the reset switch didn't work. Prior to that, he was able to replace for the breaker. Overall, American Home Shield is a good program.

Updated on 04/16/2020: I was denied my claim on my ceiling fan because I didn't properly install it (4yrs of continuous payments), I could not speak to anybody, finally I decided to let the world know, and left an honest review. I was contacted by Kim (American Homes rep). I replied and never heard from her, I decided it's time to cancel, after 4 Yrs they are now trying to bill me for early cancelation, the person on the phone said, because my account is drafted every month, that every February my contract is renewed, never heard of this madness,, please America, this is not a good company. #stayaway
Original review: I (family) have been with the company around 4yrs straight, due to my traveling, I felt comfortable if anything broke, I can get repairs in a timely manner. This came to a screaming halt, 2 ceiling fans broke, and they denied the claim on one because, it was said I didn't install it properly, I couldn't believe what was being told to me, I cannot speak to an American, customer complaints have to be mailed in. I get American Home Shield. They get your money and deny, just didn't think it would happen for a 300.00 fan. I am not complaining just warning everyone from my lodge, military veterans, to anyone with breath in their lungs. Stay away!!! Stay away from this company. It's not for Americans, their customer reps are all from the Philippines and half of them you will not understand, today is Saturday 04 April 20, I will warn people to stay away, starting now.

I've had two experiences with American Home Shield. The first one was good, but he still has not been able to do anything to the washer, and he's replaced parts. And I was so unimpressed I wouldn't want him to come back again if I can. He was from Appliance Doctor. He never called me, I had to call him. My washer sounds like it's going to break every time I run it and I still have to put buckets of water in my washer. It's horrible. He said he fixed it and then, we had to go out of town because of a sick parent so he just dropped the ball for another month. It's still working but my husband can't sleep because it is too loud so I can't run the wash.
My life has been so busy with everything going on and we had to go to town. But I sent him emails, pictures, a video of the washer when he said it was fixed the first time. He said he'll have another part but somebody told me they're not gonna replace it if it's just making noise. But the issue with the water still doesn't work. It fills it low and I have to put three or four buckets of water in it to make sure it doesn't break or sound worse. If my washer was broke, I would probably want to cancel it because I would have to go pay for a washer. I can't wait for three months. On the other hand the gentleman that came out and diagnosed the dishwasher was awesome. He would text so I know exactly when he's coming. He came and he was professional. He said it takes a week for a part. I knew what was going on unlike with the other guy. MC2 Appliance was good.

I’m a Realtor and I advise my clients to get a warranty ‘cause there are hidden factors of the home that even with an inspector, they may not uncover. I’ve used American Home Shield in my past. This time, I've had them from July when I bought my condo. It’s my third time to use them and it’s been very successful. I submitted a claim online and AHS made it clear when to expect the contractors. It was within 24 hours of working day. It was a Saturday and I figured out I wouldn’t hear anything till Monday. SWAT Plumbing contacted me at a reasonable time, and they did great. They came Monday. There was a leakage in my pipe in the tub and they did a perfect job.

The people who American Home Shield has working for them aren’t working out. Honesty Mechanical came out for our AC unit, but they haven’t been back to fix it. I asked on Thursday, and the tech said he would have turn it over to the install people. Then on Friday, I called. I was just trying to find out when I can expect him to come, and the person was already gone for the day. And then on Saturday, I called American Home Shield, and the rep called them. She told me the same thing. “They were gone for the day, but they should do it within 48 hours.” Today, I called and the first time I called, the tech was at lunch. Then the second time I called, he was on another line. So, I still haven’t been able to find out what’s going on.
American Home Shield told me everything that they could. Honesty Mechanical hasn’t done what they’re supposed to do. They could at least told me, “This is the way it works. We have to get approval from our boss. And then when we get approval from our boss, we have to do A, B, and C” to give me an indication of when. To me, it’s like they’re jumping around the bush and right now, I’m very dissatisfied with Honesty Mechanical.
Every time I’ve called American Home Shield, their rep said, “I’m gonna call them right now,” she put me on hold, and she came back with the same information that I had. Now, I didn’t tell her what they told me. She came back with the same information, and she told me, “If in 48 hours, they don’t get back to you, call me.” I thought, “Okay, they should get back to me Monday.” I didn’t hear anything. I didn’t call them. I am gonna call American Home Shield tomorrow instead of calling Honesty Mechanical because I don’t know what they’re doing.
We also had another service call about something where Rapp’s told me that I have to pay $1,046 out-of-pocket. I also found out they were the same as Honesty Mechanical. I called American Home Shield and I told the rep, “Well, look, you told us it was only gonna be 9 something, and that was if they needed all the parts.” So, she said, “That’s what it is.” She called the company back. She also said, “You only pay 9 something, whatever, and if they give you another problem, you call me back.” She was really good.

We’ve had American Home Shield since we moved here, which is about six years. I like that it gives someone else a responsibility other than me to find a contractor to come out here at this point. The only problem that I have with them is it always seems to take longer because they pull someone from out of San Antonio, and sometimes they only come here so many days a week. I wish that they would use more local instead of always resourcing from San Antonio. They would be faster. There are a number of different companies between the plumbing, heating and cooling, that we've had as well as the repairmen. You would think they would use more resources. But when I had a leak in a pipe and cold water for the kitchen sink, the technicians were very good. They got it done and they stuck with it, even though it was not wanting to cooperate.

American Home Shield's claims process is pretty easy. You call them and they hook you right up. My icemaker wasn't working and the ADA Repair tech told me that it was a jammed up full of ice. He got it out and it started working again. He also told me if it quit working to call him back.

One of my lines from the pump that pumps my sewer out to the drainage field broke. My wife called in a claim to American Home Shield and their contractor, Aseptic, came out to do the repair. The tech went through and explained what he thought may have happened. This was our first time ever on a septic tank and he gave me a quick rundown of how the system works. He told me that a pipeline broke and the floater had a small hole in it. Those had to be replaced. I've also submitted claims to AHS for kitchen appliances in the past and while those claims took a little while, it was good. I'm glad AHS gets in there and my issues get resolved. It puts my mind at ease.

Every year, we have multiple things go out that Home Shield has come out and fixed. Most of the time, their service is prompt, unless whoever they send out is swamped, which is understandable. We have a pool and it would be nice if there are more offers on the pool. But other than that, I've never had a problem getting through to have anybody come out to work on anything in our house. And so far, everybody has been very well and everything has been fixed.

We have been with American Home Shield since we bought our house in 2001. We like the ability to have the knowledge that somebody can come out and fix any problem we might have with our major appliance. We have had several things dealt with. Most recently, we had an issue with the refrigerator, and they were able to get someone to come out fairly quickly to deal with that. There was an issue, however, for a while with a particular company that apparently was low-bidding their services. They had come out to our house on a couple occasions and made the problem worse for that particular company. We kept requesting someone else other than that, and that was the company that kept popping up first. But, we were able to get that dealt with -- we have not had that issue in a while.

American Home Shield has been good so far. Recently we had the hot water heaters go out and the first company they sent out could not work on them and it took them another two days to get somebody else here. The next company was outstanding. The water heater’s good ever since.

American Home Shield has been great. We’ve been impressed with how quickly they assigned technicians or vendors to come and it’s been a good service. The system automatically puts you to their automated service request though. If you have a question about service, it’s very challenging to figure out how to speak with someone. That’s why we do everything online. It's more convenient. We recently had a plumbing issue and the guy came out in 24 hours. He was professional. He completed the work quickly and efficiently too. Now, they are all working well.

Recently, one of the burners wasn't working. The ignition was broken somehow. American Home Shield sent GE Appliances and they fixed it. The guy was very knowledgeable. However, when I called AHS for service last month about the faucet, they sent some guy who was not professional. He said that it was a cosmetic issue, but it wasn't, so they sent another guy. He said that it was broken and took close to 10 days for that thing to get fixed. AHS should need to vet their contractor before they send them to their customer. Other than that, I had no issues from a coverage perspective, but at the same time, it's a brand new account. I need to wait with the whole judgement wise. So far, I'm pretty happy with their service, especially the last one.

We were trying to hook up my washer and dryer. We had the install company come out and the hot water valve was C-shut so we couldn’t open it so I used the AHS website and filled out the claim saying that we had a plumbing problem, and we had gotten in contact with someone pretty easily. AM/PM plumbing was very good. They came out and did their job and they did it professionally and very efficiently.

The air conditioner wasn’t working so I called American Home Shield. They were nice people. Now we got air. It’s hot enough. BW was good compared to the previous one because for my garage door opener I ended up having to pay out of pocket for it. When the first guy that came, he said was something was broken. The second one they sent said it was a door then it stopped working. I had to come bring another person out and get a whole new one installed. I was out of $300, plus out of pocket, another 300, to get a new one installed. I had to argue with them just to get them to send somebody out the second time.

I’ve got one outstanding repair with AHS that I need to settle on, but my most recent experience was good. My Appliance Repair came on a Tuesday. The guy knocked off a Nest thermostat cap. It was expensive and we were worried about that a while, but we found it. He was very thorough and diligent in looking at the problem that we didn’t settle. Our ice maker wasn’t working and we needed to get a new refrigerator as a result. I was pleased that someone with AHS followed up about the refrigerator and the process of replacing it the next day. By and large, my experience with them has been positive. Sometimes, there is a little bit of a communication gap, but they follow up in a timely manner and use good vendors. Although not all vendors are created equal, if it’s a problem that’s easily identifiable, AHS can get the right person on it and get it taken care of.

When we bought this house, the sellers included a one year warranty with American Home Shield and we kept it because we had used it a couple of times and we were satisfied. We’ve been with them since 2015. When the thermostat of the heater kept shutting off, I went to the website of AHS to schedule an appointment. The contractor was great. We've used them before through AHS and we even use them for our regular servicing. We had a problem a couple of years ago and that was the company that AHS recommended.

I prefer to call and talk to folks, but I had a problem when I spoke with the representative the first time after the first repair request I made. DeWitt’s Appliance Repair was supposed to come for my AC, but they couldn’t get to me until Monday and that request was cancelled. I called American Home Shield afterhours, and the lady told me to contact the contractor. I explained that I am a diabetic and we could not be in heat that long. I asked if there was any way the contractor could come that Thursday. She said she could get them to me that Friday if I called back then and have them expedite the request. I called back in to have that request expedited, and I had to go to four different representatives because they refused to expedite it.
They would have to cancel the current request. I received all kind of spiels and I was really ticked off with them to the point where I was on the verge of cancelling American Home Shield. I finally got somebody on the line who called to see if they could get somebody out to me that day. They ended up contacting The Matts Company who was able to get to me that Friday. They came out three times in two weeks. The first time they came out, on the 27th, the guy repaired something in the attic. It worked for the weekend and the unit went to doing exactly what it was doing again.
The senior guy came back last Tuesday, and he did a lot of work. He stayed here for an hour and a half. He did some stuff in the attic and something to the outside unit. He told us that the unit was leaking Freon, and that we were gonna be running out soon. We paid to have him recharge the unit, and that worked for a day then I called again and he came out yesterday. He said that they've done any and everything. They've patched up everything they could patch up as much as they could. The AC has to be replaced. There was nothing else he could do to it, but he did something to it yesterday and said that hopefully, it will get us by until our claim is processed. I love Mr. ** from the last company to death. Our freezer wasn’t freezing too hard, our refrigerator wasn’t cooling at all, and we couldn’t get any ice from the ice maker. James Appliance Repair came out. He was a very nice and decent man, very friendly, and professional. He got right on the job and didn’t take him long to diagnose it. He ordered a couple of parts and once parts came in, he called us up. He kept us informed. We were real impressed with how he handled it. He did the job very well. We didn’t lose any food.

We've got a Frigidaire that came with the house, and it was making this god-awful noise. I called the American Home Shield 1-800 number and told them what was going on. Later that afternoon, I got a phone call that said who was being dispatched, so it was super easy. Both Home Shield and the appliance repair place touched base and said what time they'll come. The repairman called when he was 15 minutes away too, so it was great. Initially, he came out last week to inspect the refrigerator. He then figured out what the problem was and ordered the parts.
He came in Tuesday of this week and replaced everything. He was such a nice man. He was so wonderful and very personable as well as respectful. He came in and went straight to work. I had a great experience with him and so far, everything's been good. We just moved into this house about two years ago. The first year, we were under the builder's warranty, and then we got the Home Shield for the second year. This is the second time we've had to use it and as far as value goes and responsiveness, I've been very pleased.

Everything was fine with our recent claim with AHS regarding our AC unit. The contractor was quick. He was polite. He came out, did the job and explained to me what was going on and it’s fixed. We’ve had issues in the past with AHS sometimes, but for the most part, in the last few times, it worked really nice.

With American Home Shield, it takes so long to get an appliance repaired. For some things, I can wait out for a month but then for other things, I can't. I had a washer go out some time ago and it took them forever to repair it. I ended up having to go buy one. Finally, their guy came out and fixed my washer so I now have an extra washing machine in my laundry room. The issue is the way their system is set up. I have to tell Home Shield then they would order and send parts. By the time all that happens, two weeks would have passed. Other than this issue though, I'm happy with all the stuff they have done.
I had a string of issues this year. I've had four claims that I submitted to them within a 30-day period for a microwave, a dryer, a dishwasher, and a heating unit. Gleaning Hands Appliance Repair came out for my dryer. Now, my dryer is working after their tech put a belt on it. I have an issue with it though because the unit has a new seal kit put on as it's not completely in line. So, it makes a little racket. Still, it gets me by and I'm good. The tech called me today saying that the parts needed were in and that he got an appointment set up for Tuesday.

Previously, I was with Choice Home Warranty and their reps told me they covered everything. I got their flyer online and when I started to read the fine print, I found that they cover hardly anything. I then looked to American Home Shield and started reading their fine print. I was pretty impressed 'cause they covered a lot more. I went with AHS and recently, I had a leak in my toilet and the woman who took my call for AHS was great. The contractor they sent, Econo-Rooter, was an incredible place to deal with. Their tech was a great man and did a great job. I would recommend this contractor to anybody.

There was a leaking garbage disposal under my kitchen sink. I went online to American Home Shield, signed into my account and put in the claim. They gave me a guarantee that I would get contacted by the assigned technician company and within 24 hours, AJ Bono Plumbing called. They came out quickly, made sure no one in our house was sick and tried to keep their distance. Since they've been out, the garbage disposal has been working fine. My mother-in-law, mother out of state and father in California have AHS. This is a highly recommended home warranty.

I was referred by a friend to AHS and I was glad that I was. Last time the water wasn’t coming in our washing machine, and the technician was excellent. I’m very satisfied with AHS. I call them early and they're receptive and they let me know that I have a technician that’s coming, and if I choose to call them, I can and they’ll call me. Sometimes it may take a little time and it would tell you how long, but once I get with them, they’ll immediately tell me that I have a technician that if I choose, I can call them myself, but they tell me they have me connected with a technician. So sometimes it depends. It may take a little while but like I said, I’m very satisfied and it’s worth the wait.

Previously, I had a refrigerator problem. I went almost eight weeks without it working and I lost so much food. AHS ended up sending two different contractors which I thought was totally unnecessary. It was like a terrorist act against me and I really suffered through that. The rep I spoke to said that A-1 Appliance was coming but they didn't come. They then sent another company, Rapid Appliance and it took them a couple of days to get a part.
More recently, it wasn't getting cold at my place. When I first called in a claim for my AC system to American Home Shield the lady whom I spoke to acted like she didn't understand what I was saying and it was very frustrating. I kept asking her because I liked to speak with the same people 'cause I don't want different folks in my house. There was a language barrier and I had to call back twice. I called the day before their contractor came and got nowhere. The next morning, I had to call again because it was 90 degrees in my house and I have cakes here. It was too hot to have cakes and I didn't have anywhere to store them. That time, AHS was able to help me. In less than 24 hours, Comfort Heating & AC Inc. came to do service. Everything was done excellently.

I've been with AHS since 2009 and I like that if I have a problem, I can call them and not worry about finding my own contractor, and knowing who’s good and who’s not. They're good. However, there’s something that’s changed with the way that they bill credit cards that I’m running into some trouble ‘cause I pay with prepaid cards. And the last two times I’ve had contractors out when I tried to pay it, it doesn't go through. So, something’s changed because I can use those cards in other places. But I’ve never had trouble with the contractors that have been sent. Recently, I had a plumbing claim. I made the phone call around 11:30. By 12:30, the contractors were here.

AHS's contractors have been good, but there are not many contractors that work with AHS to choose from. And I eliminated one or two that I didn't like from my dashboard. However, the contractors usually call me within 24 hours. Although it depends on the schedule, they usually come within the next day as long as they’re not swamped. When United Air Temp came out for an air conditioner, they replaced a relay switch twice.

A couple of months ago, a guy from Big Orange Plumbing came and fixed our garbage disposal. But it was not properly adjusted then it started swiveling around and was leaking. I submitted a claim with AHS and they sent out another tech from Big Orange Plumbing. He was a very good technician and a very nice guy. But I hope that it doesn’t start leaking again because if they did a good job the first time, I didn’t have to call AHS again.

I had a leak in my kitchen faucet one weekend and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield online. Their contractor, All-City Plumbing came the next business day and the tech was very mannerly. AHS wound up replacing the whole thing and things have been fine since. I've been recommending this warranty to my other friends.

Hers and His Plumbing came to replace the cartridge in my shower faucet. That was the first time I used Home Shield and I was a little discouraged at first because the plumbing company that they referred scheduled several days out when I had a leaky shower and I was wasting water, and then they cancelled. I understand things happen in life, but they cancelled and had to wait an additional four more days. And then this caused me concerns.
I typically do my research and I actually work for a School District Maintenance Department so I’m very familiar with working with technicians. I did an online search and found out the company has some really bad reviews, so I was really worried. But the technician that came out was very professional and I was perfectly happy with his service.

AHS has always taken care of me. They replaced the refrigerator and they fixed my wash and dryer, my stove and a couple of leaks. When I had a plumbing issue, the tech was very professional, very accurate and very knowledgeable. I really liked the guy. He was all about the homeowner and making sure everything was correct. The only negative thing about them was when they replaced my air conditioning unit last year, the Freon and the copper lines that go from your furnace to your air conditioning unit outside should've been covered under the policy because that's part of the unit. But they don't cover that.

My claim with AHS went really smoothly. I called them when my water heater went out and was leaking. They told me who they were gonna dispatch. I called Integrity before they got the order and it went really smoothly. They were very helpful and accommodating. They were out the next morning at 8:00 AM and we had hot water by 2:00 in the afternoon. I was really impressed with them. I’ve dealt with about five other plumbers since I’ve lived in this house and I will call Integrity for personal stuff because they did so well.
Our house had some very high-end appliances with it and we chose AHS. They replace like-for-like and the deductible was manageable. The cost was a little bit higher, but I was able to get better coverage, and overall, they were the best choice on the market. I’ve had some really bad experiences with other home warranty companies to the point where I won’t even recommend them. I only recommend AHS.

American Home Shield has an excellent company that's doing the work. We've had to make two calls and the vendors were all very professional. They did what they had to do and they got the problem resolved. Everything is good at this point. If American Home Shield stays the course, they're gonna go a long way. May Heating & Air was one of the vendors and the technician's demeanor and professionalism made the experience excellent. He knew exactly what he was doing when he asked me what the problem was and I told him, he went right to it and he fixed the problem immediately.

Submitting my claim with AHS was easy. I put the claim in on Thursday night, and the guy was here on Monday. He came to check out our water heater for the pool that didn’t work. He was not very interested in telling me what was going on. He was more interested in sending his report. But with the whole COVID thing right now, you have to keep distances so the interaction was even more limited than it would have been normally. He sent the report to AHS. AHS then told me that they would not cover it and the contractor never followed up.

We've had AHS for a couple of years and I called them out one time when I needed my furnace to be cleaned. But they said they didn't do maintenance. They only did repairs. I also called in a service request for a refrigerator that wasn't freezing. MS Appliance Service came out and they were good. The unit was at my brother-in-law's house. My brother-in-law said that the tech looked at the refrigerator, put a part in it, and it worked. This was done on the same day. Everything went well.

When we had two broken compressors, I did the calling and setting up the appointment and my husband did the rest. He told me that the guy was professional, kept his distance for the COVID-19 and did what he had to do. Having a home warranty is very important and I have it now on my rental property. And when I bought a new home, I put a new contract with them. Sometimes, I have to be on the call for 40 minutes to get through and it’s really a hassle. I’m not an internet person because I spend most of my day at work on the internet and I don’t wanna do it when I come home at night because of the pain on my butt. But now, AHS put in an automated system, which works a little bit better.

It's been easy to submit claims to AHS. Their customer service team has been good and they've been proactive. I had a capacitor that was about to fail, so it’s causing the air conditioning system to work extra hard. It resulted in the premature failure of the capacitor, so they changed out the capacitor. The technician was outstanding. He was super knowledgeable. He wasn’t just trying to sell me additional services, but he talked to me at length about stuff beyond the scope of the work to improve my air conditioning unit. I’ve worked with a lot of tradesmen and he is in some of the best I’ve ever worked with.

When I submit claims, I do it online and it's easy enough. When my microwave had no power and stopped working, I submitted a claim which was done in less than a couple minutes so it was perfect. It took three days for the contractors to come but part of it was because of the whole Coronavirus scare. They were told that they had to wait and they were considered essential, but then they were out the same time that they should have been. The tech took the microwave back to his shop and fixed it. When he brought it back, a fuse wiggled loose so he fixed that on the spot.

American Home Shield is great. One of my coworkers who is an older guy had them for many years. When I bought my house, he told me to get them. It was a good recommendation because I haven’t had any problems. I’d recommend it to other people too. Submitting a claim is easy. They sent out Stateline Construction for a claim I had and it took them three days to come out. I had to get some plumbing fixed so they had to repair a hole in the ceiling. They were good.

BW Air & Heat has been the best AC company AHS sent. The tech replaced something in the AC then he followed up and saw one other thing and fixed it. The tech was respectful, very nice and informative and showed me what was wrong, what was missing. He did a good job.

Myron Wilson was very courteous and professional. He came when he said he was gonna come and gave me a follow-up call. I emailed Home Shield and told them that I wanted the option of them purchasing the washing machine and to let me know everything once they were ready to come to the house. We had been waiting for 11 days for that and I had been calling. It didn’t get to the first department I was at. But a lady named Ms. Renée called me today and I told her we’ll just do the other option of buying and being reimbursed since the first option was taking so long. And I hate going to the laundromat. This is not the time to be in a laundromat with this COVID. She was very professional because she told me everything that would be needed in order for the reimbursement.

A breaker wasn’t working. That particular breaker had my washer on it, our den, laundry room, and sunroom so we couldn't use a good portion of the house. I had to call in to file the claim because after I did all of the fill out online and paid my payment, when I pushed submit, it said, “Technical difficulties. Try again.” Every time I clicked submit, the same thing came up. It never let me get past to the very end, confirmed thing. I submitted it Monday night then I got the confirmation in the morning that said we had a contractor assigned and that I could call them. I contacted Circle S Electric Tuesday afternoon and they had somebody out on Wednesday morning to fix it.
They were super easy to deal with and the guy who came was really nice. It’s me and my three children at home and there’s nowhere else we’re allowed to go. I couldn’t even say that I’ll take the kids to the park because the parks are all closed so he made sure that he kept six feet from us at all times. That was really courteous. He also answered all our questions and fixed it just the first time. Overall, American Home Shield is great and it’s always been easy, that’s why we signed back up after our first year ‘cause I don’t wanna ever have to figure any of that out myself.

My daughter uses American Home Shield. When I moved back into my house, I went with them. I’ve only had two claims and they were both seamless. We reported the claim, and this last one, they called me within 30 minutes. The first one was not so fast, but this one was incredible. The repair guy was here the next day.

There was water underneath the air conditioning unit. It wasn't cutting off. I called American Home Shield and they sent Advantage Refrigeration & Air. The tech came the next day and did a great job. So far, so good. We had AHS before we moved to this home, but we didn't have to use it. This is the second home we've had it with.

My air conditioner went down and the pump was leaking. Home Shield sent a guy out there. I paid him the $75 first to check the thing out. Then they decided they wanted to replace the whole thing and everything in it. So another guy came out and told us what they will do. But I said no and all I wanted was my air conditioner fixed. It's well-run. So they went back and they said I had to pay $125 so I did. But they never did any work around here.
So I called the main company up and complained to them about them doing the job. The first guy didn't really know what he was doing. He tore my machine apart and left it. He didn't put it back together. So I put it back together myself. I called AHS again and I said, “Well, what would you do if I did it myself?” They said they'll pay me what I will pay the tech. I haven't received a check nor a call from them. I'm just waiting for it. I will quit American Home Shield and won't keep them because they lied to me about what they would do.

The garbage disposal was leaking and I made a claim online to American Home Shield. The website worked great and I was told that I should expect a call from the contractor. Then, it gave me a timeframe. The repairman who came and did our stuff was fine. It was fast, quick and the problem was fixed right away. The only thing I have an issue with is that I have an account set up through my email, but I continue to still get emails saying that I should come back to American Home Shield. I’m already signed up and I’ve already been back with them for a long time.

I have had American Home Shield for three years and some of the advertisements on TV indicate that you can get something fixed on a weekend and the people who are contracted here in the Phoenix area don’t work on weekends. I’m sure in some places that might be workable, but we’ve never been able to have anything done on a weekend. Of course, nothing by Friday afternoon and everybody knows that. My recommendation would be for American Home Shield to take that out of their ads. On a different note, I had a leaky garbage disposal and a gentleman came in early, fixed it and hooked it. Now, it's working fine.

My Realtor recommended American Home Shield, and my experience has been great. Luckily, I haven’t had to use it often but with the two times that I did, they were quick to send someone out and the issue was resolved. They did what they needed to do. I’m renting my house out. The tenant that’s renting the house filed a claim and he let me know that Lexus Plumbing came out and they fixed the issue.

My washing machine would not run if I run short loads in it. It makes all kinds of noises. It wasn't working right and that was why I turned a claim in to American Home Shield. Coastline Appliance Service was very good. I've dealt with their guy before and he's very good, very altruistic, goes through everything on the machine, and checks all the codes out. He does a very good job. He's one of the best guys I’ve dealt with over the years. He knows his washing machines and appliances and he goes right through them. In fact, he came out and fixed my ice maker. It never worked for about two years and he came out and fixed it right away.
The machine is still not working on short loads. He couldn't get the tub off out of the machine. He couldn't undo it because it wouldn't come off at all. He kinda figured that when he started working on it. After he got the part in and came out to the house and touring to the washing machine, he knew he couldn't get it off. It just collapses. It won't go through the cycles and so, we've been working at the Washateria for about two weeks and we're waiting on the washing machine to come in.
My family friend referred me to American Home Shield and I've been satisfied with them ever since. I have to pay $106. They don't rush me about it. They get it whenever they get it. And as far as the quality of service, everybody they've sent out has been very good. The only thing I'm worried about this time is it's taken me so long to get my washing machine in. It was supposed to come in on the 6th, and now, they kicked it back to the 13th. But overall, American Home Shield has never denied me service. I file my claim, the contractors come right out and do it.

Our interactions with American Home Shield have always good. They sent out Wester Electrical for an electrical issue we had. My spouse scheduled it and dealt with them. They repaired the item that was faulty and we've had no issues. My daughter, whose room the concern is in that it works fine. But I have a concern with American Home Shield regarding when one item has multiple things wrong with it, for example a garbage disposal is leaking with the sink. Being that it's all part of the sink, I'm wondering why it can't be lumped into one service call because it's the same type of service via plumber. There are other issues too like electrical when it's a physical thing. When they are the exact same item types or service type like a plumber or electrician, why can't the things that are similar or in the same system be counted as one item instead of two?
In our case, we had to do the sink separately from the garbage disposal. I'm sure it's to maximize the amount of the deductibles so it doesn't get too expensive for the company but when they are really the exact same system, then it should be one service call because it's gonna be the same type of person coming out. It's a time management thing instead of having two different work orders for the same system.

Updated on 04/09/2020: They sent Sears out to check on the fridge. This is now the 8th time a tech has been to my house. He was not wearing a mask. He showed up 2 hours late, missing a 4-hour time window. He showed up at 7 pm interrupting dinner and stayed til 8:30 pm. Our dinner got cold. He turned the cooling function off on the fridge. I did not realize this until the next morning when the fridge was warm and the food in the freezer was defrosted.
Ultimately AHS finally said they would replace the unit. I was finally relieved. But wait it’s not over. They sent an option for replacement, but the option did not have any of the features our refrigerator had, such has pandora, touchscreen, etc. They said they would not replace those options on the fridge because those features do not matter. Even though we use them everyday. So if we want those features we already have we will have to pay an additional amount around $1000. They didn’t even give me a cash lieu option for the entire policy. They gave us $2400 to replace a $3200 refrigerator. This company is a scam and horrible to work with. Please stay away. This is the first review I have ever done on consumer affairs, that is how dissatisfied with the company I am.
Original Review: We received a 1-year home warranty when we purchased our home. After several months of living there the refrigerator stopped working properly. I figured I would try the warranty. Everything seemed to be going well. They assigned a contractor to look at it. He looked at it. Ordered parts, and I thought this would be the end of it. All in all the contractor has been to my house 7 or more times in the mater of 2 months to "fix the fridge." All costing me time away from work. With how many hours of work I have missed dealing with this fridge I could have just purchased a brand new one.
Last time he was out he said they had replaced everything they could, and I believe him. He said, "AHS will replace your fridge, because there is nothing else we can do." What does AHS do. They schedule another contractor to come look at the fridge. They have already been to my house countless times during the pandemic. All I want is a fridge that works and no more random people coming in and out of my house. I have spent countless Hours in chats and on the Phone with customer service and have been told I will get a call back 3 times, I never got a call back. The company is dishonest and not worth your time and money. In the long run, with how long the process takes it will most likely cost you money and time.

I have American Home Shield in two locations. I have had it in Florida for two years and they’ve come several times to fix my refrigerator. One time was in 2019 in December then they came again and this last visit, the man seemed to know more on what he was doing. It took a lot of visits, but I’m happy he came and I'm happy he fixed the refrigerator, especially before the holidays. It’s a difficult thing for me and overall, I’m quite satisfied. I also had visits for my dishwasher, which they couldn’t find anything wrong with it, but I think it was a water pressure problem. They worked on that.
I have American Home Shield in New Jersey too, and it’s been very good for us. We don’t need it often, but when we need it, they have people come. I really like that they're not coming to sell me a new appliance. They're coming to fix it. They’re not going to string me along to do unnecessary things and that’s why I like American Home Shield more than anything. I’m very happy with the service and I’m happy with all the vendors who came. The guys were nice and it was good. Keep up the good work.

I had a service call with A-US Air Conditioning of Texas and it went fine. I submitted the request online, and the tech called a day or two before to arrange the time. He then showed up in the timeslot he recommended. He showed me how to work my thermostat, checked the coolant in the system, and checked the filter as well. He replaced the batteries in the thermostat, so that was very positive. He, however, did not have a new filter, so I needed to get one.

When I had a leak in the bathroom, I called the AHS toll free number thingy on my warranty and contacted them. I was told to expect the contractor within a day or two. I was pretty satisfied with the interaction and service provided by the contractor. He knew what he was doing and kinda showed me some things in case something were to happen. He was definitely helpful.

American Home Shield is well-worth the money. My my brother-in-law told me about it and we've had it since December. We made a request to have the refrigerator repaired and Mr. Appliance came out after three days. They repaired one thing, then one other module went out. They repaired that, and another module went out again. We’ve had a couple of technicians come, but we’ve been satisfied with whoever was sent out.

I submitted a claim to American Home Shield and Anytime Air Conditioning came to my home the next day to look at my air conditioner that had gone out. The tech was professional and very informative. The unit that I have is old and the tech said that it was damaged. AHS only covers wear-and-tear though and so I had to pay for the service myself. Still, I like my AHS warranty.

I like American Home Shield. I can go and get coverage online. I can also put in the work order online, and it's actually quicker to do that than to call in. I don’t have to wait. I could also get a work order number there right away. With our recent claim, our particular model of icemaker has two motors, one for the flap on the door, and one for the actual grinder. We had a motor replaced last year for the door. Now, it's the grinder that's broken. When the guy from Austin Appliance first came out, he assessed what the problem was. He didn’t have the part so he had to order it. Then he came back less than a week later and was here for probably less than 20 minutes to put the part in. He was friendly, on time, very professional, and did a great job.

The motor in the heating unit was on all the time. I thought it was connected to the thermostat because it was low and I changed the batteries but it still indicated low. I went online to make a request and the gentlemen from Active Air Heating & Cooling came in and checked the motor. They told me what was wrong with it and fixed it. They were really courteous and polite. They said somehow, the unit was stuck, but it got going again. I had some batteries they put in the thermostat and everything seems to be working okay now. They did a good job and I was satisfied. Try American Home Shield.

For the most part, AHS has been good for us. Two years ago, I had a problem. Also, when I first started, I'd be on the phone waiting. Now, I don't wait forever to call them. It's easier to go online, submit a claim and then AHS calls me. When my water heater broke during Christmas time, the guy sent by AHS came and a lot of things weren't up to code. So, he had to fix things which ended up costing me more than I expected. Still, he had to do what he did.
Most recently, I sent an email to AHS on a Monday and Mr. Higginbottom's from Higginbottom's Heat & AC Services called me that afternoon. He came on Tuesday and fixed my issue. That was great. This is the only contractor I want to come out. One time before, somebody came without even a ladder. Then that contractor told me that he didn't want the job. Things have gotten a lot better since I started with AHS. They got their act together.

We are new owners who were not able to live in the home for another six weeks. We were living in Minnesota in our apartment before we moved to Texas. The home was to be empty and we decided, as our Realtor supported our decision, that we should have the locks changed. And the rekeying was included in our American Home Shield contract. I talked to them and I could not understand the gentleman really well. But other than that, it went well. We needed one of our sons who lives in the immediate area to meet ReKey Xpress to do the rekeying. Our son asked for our wishes for the three locks into the home to be the same lock and four keys, because that’s what the rekeying would cover. The tech thought that would be easy to do. Things have been functioning well. We were happy that the home warranty company listed on the contract was American Home Shield because we've had them and were happy with them.

Super Appliance Man came out for my heating and it went really well. The heat went out and there was a part that we had to reorder and install. They were super helpful but there was a residual issue that occurred afterwards. The floors started warping and I had a contractor come out to assess the floors. He speculates that the moisture is coming from the HVAC unit. I contacted Super Appliance Man again and they were more than willing to help out. They said to contact AHS and they'd go through the warranty company. Then they sent somebody out to diagnose it this morning. Hopefully, they're gonna come back out to fix the issue.

The tech from AirMax did a good job. He was socially distant and he wore gloves. He was good mannered. We're very happy with American Home Shield as long as they don't raise the price on us again. They could also have some sort of bulk buying. Our range is approaching the end of its useful life. We have one burner that's out, and I don't think we want to call them out here for 100 bucks for one burner. One thing I have not seen is a discount on preventative calls like at the beginning of the season, a tuneup for the AC in particular. A discount on a tune-up would be great. The discounts replacing the equipment would be great as well.

When my daughters were baking cookies the oven handle broke off and it almost started a fire because they could turn off the oven, but they couldn't open the door because it was so hot. The glass popped out. It was kind of a disaster. I called AHS up and I said could they send somebody to fix my oven, and they did. The A GO Home Appliance Repair tech was very nice. He reoriented the two handles on the oven and it's been working okay.
I was a little worried and I was a little bit skeptical at first because most of the time when something like this happens, I can fix it myself. It's just that I am freakishly busy these days. It was upsetting to have to pay the 75 bucks on top of the annual fee, but what are you gonna do? It's probably cheaper overall than if you have to get somebody in and usually, time is a problem. AHS does a good job. Every contractor has been really excellent.

Jay's AC Heat & Air was wonderful. We were assigned somebody in Orlando, but we never got a response, so I called them. When I called, the girl from Quick Air said they didn't have anybody. The owner is licensed to work on it, but they didn't have any workers that could come out. I called AHS again and I was reassigned to Jay's, and he was at our house within 20 minutes. He was very clean and personable. He got everything done, and our air conditioner is working beautifully now.

I was having my air conditioning serviced for the year and the service people from Jon Wayne Air Conditioning found a leak in the hot water heater. It was also not up to code. It was eight years old and it needed to be completely redone. Doing a claim with American Home Shield was easy. Immediate Response Plumbing & Rooting came out that week, and then I decided to hold off on it. Then I called them back and had them come out.
On the initial experience with Jon Wayne Air Conditioning, I was very disturbed because that cost me $900 because they thought there was a gas leak. And it was not a gas leak. They had to pressurize the house, and that was how they found the water heater was leaking and was rusty on the top. I said, "I don't care if the house burns down, turn the heat back on." Jon Wayne couldn't do it. They said it's a fire hazard. They said, "Now, if you turn it on when we leave, that's one thing. But we can't turn it on. We're not electricians." So I was very disturbed with them but not with Immediate Response. They were very nice and very helpful.

Everything went well. From the time I submitted the request, it was a very quick turnaround to let me know who was gonna come out to see us. And then I heard from the service company the next morning and set up the time, and it was quick and easy. Our clothes washer would not cycle through the cycles. It would wash and run through them and then wouldn’t forward through that. Lake Area Appliance had to come out and take a look at that. They were able to make the fix. The tech diagnosed it in the first two minutes and knew exactly how to fix it. He was in and out in 20 minutes. So, overall, it was a good expense.

My microwave was possessed. We would put something in the microwave and close the door, and all of a sudden, it would start without even having to push any buttons then it would stop. We would key in the time, it would start, then it would pause, and then it would cut out or we could put something in and it would run fine. We would then take the item out and close the door, and it would start again. It was really weird. We did a request online then a calendar was brought up with the available days, and I got to choose which day I wanted that was available. The vendor came out and fixed the problem. There was a short circuit somewhere with the latches from the door to the thing, and he replaced those. Now, it's working great. All in all, we've been protected with American Home Shield since 2010 and any time I had an issue, they were able to take care of it. We're very satisfied.

One time, my sump pump was not working. I called AHS and their contractor, Super Rooter Plumbing and Sewer came to handle my claim. They replaced the motor in my sump pump. I've never had a sump pump before and I didn't know if it was supposed to continually go. So, I called to ask them if they could check it again. The same tech who came before, Martin, returned and explained to me that it's supposed to continue to run and that everything is fine. He showed me how to look down to see that when water would come up to a certain level, the sump pump would start. I felt much better about that. He had explained that to me the first time but then I had so much going on that I didn't understand. Super Rooter did excellent service. This has been the third time they did plumbing work for me and I really think highly of the company.
Previously, I had a problem with one company sent by AHS and I asked them not to refer that company again. That’s when they started referring Super Rooter. AHS was excellent. They listened to my complaint, and they rectified it. I'm glad I got into their coverage. It cuts down a lot of red tape and I feel comfortable with it. I've recommended it to my sister and she has signed up with AHS. I plan on telling my other sister also.

We’ve got American Home Shield on seven houses and we’ve had them for three maybe turning four years. We’ve got some rentals so right now, we like the warranty a lot just because of the rentals. Some of the things that we thought would be covered with the warranty aren't, like with the air conditioners. But it’s gonna come down soon to what needs to be replaced. I know with American Home Shield, they redo everything until it’s not good. Some things need to be not repaired, but replaced.
Because with the houses that we have, like if they have small children, I don’t want them to be penalized and have to wait to get a new AC when they have small children. We can’t say, “We want a new one.” Also, on some of the houses, we’ve had trouble with air conditioning stuff and others with the vendors that come out. They do a yucky job and we’ve told AHS that we wouldn’t take them back. But they had to come back, so we had to wait until they did it bad again.
But everything went very well with Bella Heat & Air. They were a great company and the guy was very knowledgeable. When we turned the AC on the day they came, it did really well. The first company that AHS sent out, it’s the same air conditioning unit but they came out three or four times. But with Bella, everything was great.

Since getting American Home Shield in August of 2018, it has been very easy for me to put in claims. I do it over the phone and Home Shield has somebody contact me in 24 hours or less. Their process is fairly straightforward. However, like most companies, they have people in foreign countries who are kinda hard to understand though they speak pretty good English. Currently, I find it easier to go online and submit my claim. Still, the techs they have sent have been good. I recently had a contractor come out for my air conditioner.

We've had American Home Shield for 13 years and they're always prompt. We had a contractor that we didn't care for though. He got the job done, but he was slow. For the most part, it's all been good. The last one we just had for the dishwasher was good. He was nice too. We do claims online and it's a lot quicker. When the appointment is made and they assigned to it, the person who's going to be doing it calls you and lets you know when they're gonna be there. However, I had an 8:00 to 5:00 window on this one and it would be a whole lot better if they were able to give a three-hour window instead of an eight-hour window. Still, he came in the middle of the morning, which was fine. All in all, I'm perfectly satisfied.

They took care of me quickly and the contractor was very good and knowledgeable. American Home Shield sent Advanced Heating & Air Conditioning for an AC issue recently. The only problem was that they came a couple of days later. If it would have been an emergency, it would have been a problem. But since it wasn't huge, we got it taken care of before it got to the point where it was hot out. They checked our air conditioner. The guy almost instantly knew what it was and changed the thermostat out. When we bought our home in December, within a couple of days, the toilet was stopping up and overflowing all into the bathtub. That was our first call with AHS which was an emergency and they came right out and handled that the same day. I think it just depends on what's going on if it's an emergency, as far as what needs to be looked at. But both times, they've been pretty good and they've taken care of the things. We're actually considering keeping it for a little longer than a year.

We've had them over for 12 years and ever since we called them, we're always glad we have the service. I always tell people about it, especially when I tell homeowners that let me know that they had an issue. I always explain to them that the service is excellent. You don't have to worry about your appliances or the money in your pocket because American Home Shield will send people out, then they will fix the problem. It tells you exactly if you need new appliances too.
Recently, two companies came out. The first company's service wasn't good. When the person came out, they never took care of the matter, and everything went back to normal before we called them. We didn't get heat then and we asked for another request. The second people that came out was under American Shield and they were excellent. I'm glad they came. The guy called me and said he had to get a part. He was all business and when he was back, I was surprised. Still, he took care of the issue.

We had a dishwasher and a washing machine that broke a week in between each other. Submitting claims for them to American Home Shield online was very easy. I did that from my phone and had an appointment scheduled within an hour. AHS sent All Fixed Appliance Repair out and the tech who came was very responsive. If I had to pay for his service myself, I’d pay for him as well. However, we went for three weeks without a washing machine because we had to order parts three times. Every time the tech would go to fix it, he finds something new that is broken and we would have to wait another week for parts. I'd like to see that process sped up a bit. Still, I'm satisfied with my experience.

The two faucets were not working and everything was backed up. I submitted a claim with AHS and I did it online. The process was much easier that way and they sent out a tech from Drain Go. He was good and kinda knowledgeable in what he was supposed to be doing. He got the faucets working well but I’m still having a little problem with the drainage and the septic system kinda backs up a little bit every once in a while. Other than that, I have AHS for three months now and I have pretty good coverage with them.

We’ve bought and sold five or six houses over the past 20 years. American Home Shield was provided by the seller for our house and it was for a 12-month period. It was easy making a claim to them. I filed one for our AC and we were given Total Air Care as the contractor. It was probably not even necessary for me to call but I just wanted to make sure since I’ve only lived here for two months and I was concerned about the noise from the AC unit. I wanted to make sure it wouldn't start a fire.
It took like four days in terms of response time which if I had been living in Cincinnati and it was zero out, I would have been concerned. But since the temperature wasn’t an issue here, I didn't wanna turn the air conditioner on until the tech came back out with a heat pump. It was fine. The tech had a very thorough explanation for me and had some expertise from his experiences so that really helped.

My mom uses AHS and she’d been pushing it off on me for years, so I finally gave in and got them. And considering the fact that everything in my house is breaking, I love everything just fine. Recently, there was an issue with my AC and I submitted a claim online on Saturday. Then, Rescue Your Air's tech came out by Monday and he was great. He was professional and he called me before he got here. I thought I was gonna have to replace my air conditioning but he was able to fix it, almost like he jump-started it, and it took him about an hour to get everything fixed with no problems. My house is freezing cold now. I have AHS since January and this is my second claim with them. So far, the people that came out were awesome and I'd recommend them to anybody.

The 13-year-old water heater kinda was not working very well. It stopped producing hot water. The plumber came out once and replaced some valve. It worked for a day, and then it stopped working after that. So, he came out again, replaced a different valve this time which was last valve that can be replaced. So far, it's going okay, but he's telling us that if it doesn't work and the water goes again, it still likely won't be covered because the water heater itself is not leaking. That's a little frustrating.
I called American Home Shield while the plumber was there on his second visit. The lady on the phone told me that they would have to wait and see what the report for the second visit would show first. So, if the guy would say that the heater was non-repairable then potentially, we could review it for coverage to replace it even if it was not leaking. The plumber that came out said that if that was what AHS was telling us, we might wanna get a second opinion if it wouldn't work again. So, that's what we'll probably do next time. Other than that, getting the service scheduled and getting the issue looked was pretty easy.

The tech from Gary’s Appliance Services who came out and looked at the appliances had Clorox wipes and was being very safe considering the circumstances. Also, he offered a lot of good information and was very quick. It was very good. I looked at the cost of what it would have been to repair the parts that he did and it was way more than what I paid for the visit. So, the warranty was well worth it.

Beyer Appliance Service came out for our appliance issue. As far as the contractor goes, they were good at keeping me informed when they were gonna be here. The young man that was out here did a very good job. He was really friendly and very knowledgeable. He showed me what the issue was and why it had happened and what the repair that needed to be done, what actually the retrofit was that they needed to do to correct it. He was very polite, on time and stayed in communication with me the whole time. They let me know when he was coming back out. He was also wearing gloves and had his protection stuff. The aspect of being socially distant was definitely there. It was a good experience.

I've had American Home Shield for about a year when my home warranty ran out from the builder. Submitting a claim to them was easy. Accord Appliance came out after a few days. They fixed my washing machine. The tech was very professional. He worked fast and seemed to know what he was doing. He said he was ordering a part, and that he will be back when the part came in.

We've had Home Shield for about three years and everything has been fixed at a reasonable price. Recently, our air conditioner was not cooling. There was an issue on a coupler that was leaking Freon. The tech repaired it that day and it's been perfect since.

The backside of the house had no electricity. The bedroom, part of the bathroom, part of the pantry and then the kitchen area, the lights were just blinking on and off, and then all of a sudden we had no electricity. Moen Electric came and determined that it was a bad breaker and replaced the breaker. So far, no issues. They were very professional, very friendly and did maintain that social distance. They were also on time and let us know when they would be arriving. We've been with AHS for 12 years now and they have always helped us out, except for once when we had some AC issues. But overall, we've had good technicians come out.

The house seller gave us some warranty options and we chose. We saw what was covered with American Home Shield and compared it to a few other companies, and I liked the website. It was very good compared to other ones and what was covered was good also. But when the first contractor came out for our fridge, I wasn't here and they were not very patient. They were calling me and I was calling back my wife to say that the guy was out there and to go check him out. Really, the guy was here waiting for like two minutes and then he said he wasn't going to wait anymore and that he would leave. I told him I was at work and to let me call my wife.
The fridge wasn't working and was just making noise. So we had disconnected it and the tech said it should be connected for at least 48 hours before he could check it out. So he just left and didn't do anything, and that was a GE representative. Then the next available appointment was a week and a half after, in which time we could not live without a fridge. Everyone was out there buying stuff for Coronavirus and we didn't have anything. So then I contacted American Home Shield and the guy was able to arrange another local Texas company that could come over and look at it, and they did.
The other company came over and fixed the fridge temporarily. It was leaking something and he didn't know what it was but the fridge was working for a while and then we bought a replacement. We asked for a gift card and then we went and saw something to buy. The second technician was very good and communicative. He did his best with what he did.

I’m in an older home. It’s 15 years old and my house started falling apart. Sometime in October, I started having problems with the electrical, plumbing, and other little things that could be solved. I called in my claims with AHS and they had someone from Indonesia or China. They had no other answer to my questions and I couldn’t speak to someone over them. And my people are foreigners too with different accents, so I could tolerate it. But at that point, it was not an accent thing. It was a communication problem.
I also had an issue with American Home Shield when they'd keep bringing out the same people for the same issue and it was not working. They're supposed to go ahead and replace an appliance if it’s not working. For instance, it took four times for somebody to come out to fix my stove. And it’s acting up right now but I'm kinda over calling them. Then, my dishwasher was supposed to be replaced. But it’s been two weeks since they delivered this dishwasher and nobody has come to install it. When I called AHS, I kept asking them where the person was and they were still not able to give me an answer. I know the Coronavirus is here but they'd tell me so and so, and that the contractor would come out, but no one shows up. No one calls me either.
I also had an electrical problem and the subcontractor came in my house, but he only fixed one problem. I dealt with a death in January and I wasn’t here at the time, but I had someone else here. And the problems weren't totally fixed. My ex-husband and I used to be general contractors for Home Depot and I’d never seen anyone like that. But the last company that came in was a different electrician and he fixed the problems right away. Still, it shouldn’t take two or three attempts for somebody to come and do something that simple. After my contract is over, I'm thinking of going with another home contracting company to insure the items in my home. It was referred to me and they're pretty good from my understanding from other teachers.

I just moved to this place and have been under AHS for less than a year. I made a service request online for an overall maintenance and they sent out Relaxed Heating and Air. They gave me the information on when to expect them. The company was pretty good. The AC has been functioning well but I haven't used it as we’re still having cold weather.

Recently, Innovative Plumbing Solutions, a contractor of AHS, came out to service my plumbing claim. Their tech got the job done quickly. He was talkative and uplifting. Before he came though, I was not happy with the plumber AHS sent. He just walked in and looked at things. He told me that his company doesn't do this and that. He was not helpful at all.

We had a leak that dripped from our bathtub upstairs into our kitchen down below. It happened a couple of months ago and we stopped using the tub. So, we had the contractors from AHS come out and they ripped up our ceiling to check, but then we couldn’t get it to leak again. While they were here, they looked at it and we tried everything to get it to leak, we couldn’t. They said to just let them know when it does and they would come back. Then a few weeks later, my daughter was taking a bath and it was leaking again, so we had them come back. And it was a gasket that he replaced to fix that. I liked the plumbing guys that came out. They were very professional and courteous.

When we bought the house, there were a few outlets that didn’t work. Also, my floodlights outside didn’t work. I filed a claim with AHS and it took a couple of days for someone to come out. MRP Electric fixed all the issues and changed a bunch of broken outlets.

When you have an emergency, AHS is right on top of it and I appreciate that. They sent out somebody for my claim and that person told AHS what I needed to be done. Then AHS sent out a second person, which was Southeast Texas. Southeast Texas did a great job and explained to me what needed to be done and what my part of the pay would be. I was okay with that and said that I needed them to fix the problem because I couldn't use the bathroom. Every time water is run, it runs down my cabinets.

My recent claim with AHS was great. It was quick and easy. The plumber called within a few hours to set up an appointment. A guy came out and fixed it and done. I've been with AHS for 10 years now and most of the time, it's great. The positive experiences have far outnumbered the negative experiences. However, it’d be nice to pay less. It’s gone up about 70 bucks a month now. Within the last couple of years, the co-pay, went from 60 to 75.

We had a leaky faucet in our kitchen sink. Blue Star Plumbing came out. The guy, Chris, couldn’t have been better. He looked at the sink and they decided they could replace it for us. Then we had to pay for part of that, which was fine. He did a wonderful job with that. And then we had a faucet in the backyard that was broken and he repaired that and did it very easily. He couldn’t have been nicer, more helpful, and more efficient. So, we were very pleased. Home Shield was really good with me. They called me to check in. I had to cancel the appointment twice because of complications with what’s going on right now and they were very helpful in rescheduling. They made it really easy. I enjoyed the whole experience.

The technician was very knowledgeable and professional. I was very happy he was able to fix my dryer that day. I like American Home Shield and I’ve had them for 18 years because this is my second home I put under them. When I first started this, I paid a $35 fee and it went up to 59, then 75 and now they’re charging me $81 for the service call. They added tax to it and I have a problem with that. But my monthly payment is right at $70. I have recommended them to a friend before but when they started adding tax to my service call, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t like that. That wasn’t what I signed up for.

My dishwasher started leaking water. We couldn’t use it because of the hose. There would be water all on the floor so I had to call the fire department to help me get it turned off. There were gallons of water coming out. Initially the tech gave me a window of 10:00 to 4:00 but I said I will be home 2:00 so he had to put me towards the end of the schedule. He called around 3:00 and came out. He brought out the dishwasher and replaced the hose and put it in the right socket. Within the reasonable amount of time, it was done. It’s working great now

I like American Home Shield. I've been with them for maybe six years now and it's really good. The claim for the air conditioner was a little bit difficult but at that time, everything was breaking. As for the rest, everything was really good. One time, this little machine for the pool was making too much noise. I called Watertight Pool & Spa and the tech came and did the repair because the machine is outside the house. Then he said everything was good and he left. Now the machine is not making any noise.

We had two HVAC units that weren't working. One wouldn't turn on at all and the other wasn't cooling. While it is difficult to submit claims to AHS in other times, it was easy in this case. They sent Express Comfort who did a fantastic job. They were there when they said they would be and called us when they were coming in. They got our problem taken care of.
Having AHS is the first time we've ever had a home warranty. It has been a mixed bag and there were some things that we thought for sure would be covered but then they were not. There were also times when there were two issues going on and they would make us have two separate calls instead of letting one guy come out and fix both things. So, we gotta wait for somebody twice. There have been some things that were more of a pain in the neck than they should have to be. Still, having Express Comfort for this claim was a great experience.

Within a short period of time of making the request for the service, the vendor contacted me and set up the appointment. A-US Air Conditioning showed up on time and were professional. They were here maybe about 45 minutes, but I could see where they were going and all that, so I knew that they were checking the right things. They knew what they were doing and they showed me some things I needed to know and made some recommendations for some DIY kind of things I could do like replace the air conditioning filter. My breaker kept tripping and certain parts of the house weren’t getting electricity. We were assigned to Sunbelt Electric and they came out the following business day. The tech made me feel very comfortable with him being in my home. He was also cautious to not let the dogs out, which was important, and he seemed very knowledgeable. He resolved all issues and we haven’t had any issues since he left. This time, I feel good with AHS. My last interaction with them was negative.

I made a request online to have my air conditioner looked at and to see why it wasn’t functioning properly. It was raining, so it took two days for the contractor to come out. He talked to me about my filters in my system, and what I needed to do in the summer heat. It was really good. He was very detailed too. I used the AC the day before he came then we turned it on after he checked it. I haven’t used it though because today, it’s freezing outside. Still, Home Shield is good and I don't have any complaints.

I've been with Home Shield a couple of times. When I first bought my home, I was with them for over a year, and then I signed back up with them. So, I've been with them for a little while. Whenever I used them, it was on time and everything went pretty fast. Also, the companies that they chose to service me were good companies so I would always use them. The contractor that came for the AC was on time. They communicated with what the issue was, which was very minor. They were in and out within about 10, 15 minutes, but they communicated the whole time and was very friendly.

If you want the cheapest contractors, get an AHS warranty. I requested a service, waited for a contractor( electrician) to call, when he did he said he would check my policy and get back with me. When he did call back, he told me what he would do and what he would not do. I felt like I was a burden to him even though he was going to get paid. In the end he asked if I still wanted him to do it and I made him happy by saying NO. I then called and cancelled the request. The customer service rep said we can do it with another contractor so I agreed. They assigned the same one for a 2nd time.
I called and cancelled and they ASSURED me that they had other contractors, I agreed and yes, they gave me the same guy for a 3rd time. I gave up and I have zero faith in AHS. I assume that all of the other electricians, you know the ones that pop up when you google electricians in the area were too expensive and why I keep getting the same guy? If you want reputable contractors, I hate to say it but do not use AHS.

My wife and I started a claim for water flooding our kitchen floor. A plumber/contractor showed up the next day, was able to turn off just the faucet. Said the leak was in the hose and parts would have to be ordered. After being bounced between plumber's and AHS for several days, I called this morning and Chole answered. Again we explained the problem. This I explained I had purchased a new faucet and we only need installation. Chole reviewed the information with her supervisor and then explained that I should get an installation price from the Plumbers Inc. or another plumber as this would not be cover by AHS. She also said since I would be paying for the faucet and installation she would reverse the paid fees. Chole W is one of the most caring and professional person at AHS.

Our toilet was wobbling really, really bad and a bolt was broken on it. It was very easy submitting claims with AHS. The only thing I’m bummed about is two years in a row now, I tried to get extra insurance on the appliance and they keep saying that I have to wait until I renew and I don’t remember when I renewed half of the time. So, a month goes past it and I need to wait for another year. I think they should allow people that already have the insurance to add insurance and just go by the same insurance with the three-month wait period before they could use it. Other than that it’s worth the money.

I bought the home in mid-June, and I bought a one-year contract with AHS, and I got a renewal notice. In my younger days, I had an insurance license, so I understood that insurance companies are there to make money for them, not you. They're banking on their premiums distributed over a million customers is going to pan out and make them money so the chances of you breaking even are very, very slim. But AHS has been hugely responsive and so I’m pretty sure I’m going to renew my policy, which is a surprise to me because I have never, ever gotten a supplemental insurance on a product. But I will with them.
When I lost water to my home I called up American Shield and within 10 minutes, Jones Pool called me back very quickly. They were out there the same day, and they inspected some of the electrical components in the well house. One of them was faulty and they replaced it. The system worked great. I was from Southern California originally so I’m not familiar with well systems. The tech went down to the well with me. He showed me how it works. He inspected the equipment that’s in there. He made one minor suggestion but what was impressive was he wanted to make sure I knew what the various electrical components did and how the system worked. He was very professional. He just didn’t repair the work. He made sure I understood what was being done. Everything is working fine. If I need any more work, they’ll definitely be the company I call.
I’ve used AHS twice so far. And both times, they were very responsive. The only suggestion I would have is the call center. It's not really the issue of it being out of the country but it’s on another continent, which means the people are not familiar with some of the local companies. Being out in more of a rural area, I’m learning that there are some companies, that do a really good job, have a history of a good job, and other companies, you really don't wanna call upon. When I called the call center, I asked who is on their service list they have no concept of who is one the service list. I can’t identify a company I’d like to use that is on their service list.
From that point, it goes to an automated system that apparently picks some company on their list, and they call you back directly so I never hear back from American Shield. After I called I didn't know who they were going to assign. The next call I got is from the company they’ve assigned. Both times I used them, the companies were very good but it would sure be nice if we're able to call American Shield and ask for a particular company but that’s not possible. Other than that, the service has been good.

The contractors that AHS sent for our garbage disposal came out. They spotted the problem and got it fixed in nothing flat. They were really good. I was very happy with them. We don’t have difficulty when submitting claims to AHS. We just call and tell them our problem and they send the people out, and it’s worked out really well. They have a pretty good program.

Sears came out for my dishwasher. The technician did really well. He looked at it and said they were not gonna be able to order it. They would have to replace it. And they came up with a number but I didn't buy it through that, I got another one. And we put it in last night. However, AHS didn't do so well on the hot water heater claim. That's been the one since August. I have two hot water heaters. The propane went out and it's been a fiasco to get it changed out. But I'm gonna go ahead and take what they offer, add money to it, buy one and ask about labor.

I made a request over the phone and it was easy and quick. True Master had two people out, and during the Covid virus, my wife immediately said we would only let one in the house. They obliged, and it worked out fine. My furnace was not working correctly, but now it's perfect.

I have been with American Home Shield for a year and the very first time I used it, I was devastated. It was not a good experience, so I was not sure if I was going to keep the service or not. It was an emergency and no one was working with me. Every time I called somebody, it was not helpful for me, and it did not get it repaired or fixed for at least two weeks. My heater went out, and they needed some kind of board. And this was when it was like in the 40s, so it was cold. The process was like almost a month to a month and a half because we also had the holidays in there with Thanksgiving. I had people over and we were all freezing. But, eventually, they got it fixed.
My experience regarding my plumbing issue, however, was the complete opposite. They have been helpful and they contacted me right away. Alvarez Plumbing came out right away, too. It was an emergency and my house had gotten flooded. The first guy who came out was okay. He did not show me what he did, but that was why it was my fault for not having him show me what he did. He then recommended someone who was able to come in and dry it all up and restore. I didn’t feel alone with it, and AHS was communicating with me. Someone was looking at it, and they had to put the water on. That was where we found out that there was still a leak. It was in a different place and it was through the piping.
And so, the second guy came out, and he said he fixed it. He called me and said, “Okay, this is what I did, and this is what was happening.” So, I appreciated that. He was very friendly and helpful, and so I had a much better experience the second time. I was totally satisfied with the service I got. I was flooded and It was a bad situation, and I was going on a cruise that day. But these guys came in, and I felt like they took care of business. Since that day, I have been telling friends and family, “You need to get this insurance.”

When I first got started with AHS, there was an issue with my account balance and I had to call customer service to get my claim submitted. However, when the oven wasn’t working, I was able to enter online and it worked just fine. The contractor for the GE Appliances was great. The oven wasn’t working. He told us what the problem was and ordered the part. He came back a week later when the part was here and installed it.
Before the tornado that happened here in Nashville. I tried to call about the locksmith issue, but I never could get through. I kinda understood that everybody’s phone lines were slammed during that time so it wasn’t AHS fault. The locksmith came out and said that they couldn’t fix the locks because they were old. He told us that it’d be better for us to buy locks and he would come back and install them. Then we never heard back from him. But he called about a week later and told my husband that he was sick. We said, “Okay.” We've been in the house already, so my husband installed the locks himself. The locksmith then called last week and said he was coming out to install. My husband told him that it was already done and not to worry about it.

I had an appliance issue and GE Appliances came out. The tech had the part on him and he took about 10 minutes tops to replace the part. I was very satisfied with them.

I called AHS for a plumbing claim. However, the wait time to speak to a live person was 20 minutes. I've been with them for about six years now and in prior years, the wait time was an hour. Still, their contractor Discount Contractors LLC came to service my request and the tech they sent was excellent. He was courteous and polite. He did an extremely good job.

My hot water heater was not heating the water, so it didn’t work and it wouldn’t turn on. The contractor was scheduled at 9 o'clock and they were there at 8:30. They went down and looked at it, opened it up and told me what was going on. They said they could fix it, clean it and adjust it. It was clogged and after about an hour, the technician turned it on and told me to give it about 15 minutes and I should have hot water. A half-hour later, I turned the faucet on and the water was nice and hot. He cleaned up everything and it has not been a problem since. I’m happy. It works and I have hot showers again.
We just bought the house and the previous residents had American Home Shield and we took over. We’ve had it since the 28th of February and I never expected to use it but the first time I did, it was well worth it. I'll recommend them to anybody. If I never use them again and keep paying the yearly fee, it was worth the price for that one time. They give you the options, especially if you have a new house or if you got older appliances, this is the way to go, especially with the way the economy is. Every nickel counts. It’s like car insurance. You hope you never have to use it, but if you did, you don't pay for it when you need it. One time is all it takes, so I’m sold on it. I’m trusting for life with these people.

When I lived in Nevada, I had American Home Shield in my own home before, so I knew how they were. When I moved into my mobile home, they gave me different insurance. When that expired, I went back to American Home Shield. I like their quality of service, the response time, and the price. Everything is just perfect. Recently I had a backed-up sink and some other stuff that was wrong with my sink in my kitchen. Plymar Plumbing came out and took care of everything immediately. The service and the technician were great. I love them.

I called American Home Shield when we had a toilet that was leaking from the bottom. They gave me the phone number and they said it was all arranged. They handled it all. The contractor company, Aladdin, was good. They were out when they said they would be. Everything with AHS seemed to go perfectly. The only thing negative is the price of the warranty but that’s is worth it when we have something major go out. Overall the experience was smooth and quick. I am satisfied.

My heat wasn't turning on one time and I made a call to submit a claim to American Home Shield. Submitting claims is more difficult on their website. It's not very good. I'm pretty computer savvy and I wasn't able to do it. Still, submitting on the phone has been easy. Their contractor, A & R Complete Service came for my heating claim and the techs provided good service.

Our claim with AHS is still an ongoing issue. I had a toilet that was running and we had to call them up several times to get it correct. And then, they put a new pressure valve on our toilet system and that created some knocking in the pipes, and they’re still knocking. They put the pressure control on which is not what we really signed up for. But the contractors said they found that we needed to replace that. I’ve been trying to get guts put in one of the toilets. They kept putting flappers but no guts, and they still haven’t replaced the guts. And we’ve been calling back several times ‘cause it continues to run and my water bill is $400. And it continues to flip off and on, and they said, “You need the flappers.”
We went through three rounds of that because it kept turning off and on. And I was like, “Why don’t you guys just replace the guts?” And the guy came a couple of days ago. I thought he was gonna replace the guts the other day. He said, “We’ll do that, ma’am.” But they still haven’t replaced the guts. I don’t know how expensive that can be to replace the inside mechanism ‘cause that is what shuts it off and on. So, it’s still shutting off and on, just not as often as it was.
And then, we have this problem now with the pipe shaking whenever the washing machine comes on or we’re in the kitchen turning the kitchen faucet on. We have all this rattling going on since they replaced the valve which was not what we asked to be replaced. So now, they said we need a $400 part on, which is not covered, to stop some air pressure control valve or something that they said they’re putting on where the washing machine is hooked up. He said, now when they build homes, it’s required for them to put this air pressure unit on. He was telling us we had to pay $450 to get that on to stop this rattling noise, which is no guarantee but he said that should stop it.
But the reps of American Home Shield have been very courteous. They’ve been doing a good job handling it. My husband requested to get another company to come out but they said we had to stick with them because we started out with them. It’s very frustrating to have to repeat and still don’t get the results. I’ve been a long-time customer with American Home Shield and I pay my monthly fees on time. And when I call them for service, I would like to get it and I’d like to get the problem resolved. American Home Shield is a good company overall. But I feel they need to get upgraded on some of these companies or change out some of these companies and find better companies to service their customers.

It seems like every time the weather breaks, I always have to get my air conditioner serviced for some reason. I spent thousands of dollars just to get some repair done last year. I had to refill 10 gallons of coolant and the lady that I talked to said it was a compressor. AHS only paid for $10 per gallon when it could cost $50 to $60 per gallon. This time, I spent about 12 or 1300. The new contractor who came out was saying that it was a leak. It seems like every time a new contractor comes, they tell me something different.
Then I asked AHS to look up my service orders. The last two requests have been over $1000. I explained to them about getting a switch put on my AC. The rep said that I had a compressor, and this wasn’t a compressor, but she understood me saying I might have gotten a switch. She explained to me with this new inquiry, a switch was needed to bring it up to code. Something didn't feel right and so I asked her to look at my past ticket. I wanted to make sure that I would not be spending another money for something that had already been done. But she couldn’t answer that. She said she couldn’t look past last year and I explained to her I had an AC problem for the past four years. So, it was not the best experience in terms of my AC.
Two years ago, we used to pay for our service fee when the contractors came out. Now, we pay ahead of time so when they come, they already have been paid. I had this one experience where the contractors told me they would call me 30 minutes before they arrived. They didn’t do that so it took me 15 minutes to get to them and they had left before I got to the house. I contacted American Home Shield and told them what happened. They said they came and I wasn’t there so they would have to charge me another $100 fee. That was one of my first worst experiences besides the AC. There’s a lack of communication with some of the contractors that come out.

We just moved in our home. We don’t have access to hooking up an account with AHS online, so we just called customer service and requested the re-key service on the phone. They gave me the name of the company and they told me to give them a call if I didn't hear back in a couple of hours. I called and the recording said that they weren’t doing anything until May because of this coronavirus. But AHS found somebody in Nevada and they were able to come out the next day.

American Home Shield offered a buyout and said the part was going to take 7 to 10 days to order. It was for the microwave. In this day and time, my kids live through the microwave, so I told them $140 isn't going to replace my microwave, especially since it's the over the range type with the light, the fan and whatnot. I said "I'll just wait until the part comes." A day later, the appliance company called me and said that the part was ready and they would like to come install it. Right now, no one is busy about anything, so they came out the next day and installed it.
All in all, the claim was really slow at the beginning, and it wasn’t anything that they did. It was more of American Home Shield. I wonder why they were trying to offer me a buyout. I thought it was odd, but outside of that, the gentleman that came and installed it was a super nice guy. He was really professional. It was a good company and we're content. The microwave works fine and my kids are alive.

The outside air conditioning unit had stopped working. Apparently, the compressor went bad and the technician from A-US Air Conditioning of Texas replaced it. I did the claim online. He came up the very next day and he was very professional. He was in and out and had it fixed in about 30 minutes. With AHS, if a warrantied appliance breaks, that’s covered basically. Replacing an air conditioner is $7,000 to $8,000. I’m completely happy with the whole experience from start to finish.

I've had American Home Shield for a long time (years) and they get the stuff done. It just takes a long time. Also, from what I understand, they go with the less expensive companies to send out like everybody else. Two summers ago, I was without an AC for 17 days when it was 100 degrees out. I understand the season. It’s hot. When I call to put in a request though, the money's out of my account before I even hang up and it takes them days, sometimes weeks, to come out and check out the problem. I'm not very satisfied in that, but what can I do.
Recently, my AC went out again and A-US Air Conditioning said it was the compressor. They came out again and installed all that. They also put a can of Freon and left. My thermostat wasn’t working, so they had to come back out. The guy did something else and said the problem was the panel up here. It then seemed to be cooling off when he left, but my AC is not like before. At 73, my AC was freezing in here. I understand I have an old unit, but right now, it barely cools the house even though it's at 71. With everything that’s going on, I didn’t want more people coming and going into my house and I figured I need to let go. I have my grandkids, I have a nine-month old baby and I had different techs come in. I know these guys visit several homes, so I don't want to push the issue right now.

All-Star came out and they fixed my garage door opener. But there were some problems wasn’t initially fixed. At first, there was some issues about my coverage with American Home Shield. There was a miscommunication, but they completely handled it. I called them on Friday and when I called back Saturday, they said that the tech was gonna be reaching out, which he did. So they had got in contact with the guy that came and he reached out that early Monday morning. He was very professional. He did what he had to do. I thought he would have to come back, but he had all the parts with him and he fixed my garage door.

Submitting my claim on the AHS website was pretty simple, quick and easy. Downstairs, we thought we had a leak in our bathtub. We couldn’t use it because we noticed that the water would accumulate outside the bathtub from the wall. We knew that we had a leak somewhere in the wall, but it only happened when we used the bathtub. Also, on the bathtub upstairs, the stem was leaking from the faucet. After submitting the claim, I got the email saying that it was scheduled, but I figured it would be delayed because of the whole situation with the virus. It took the contractor about five days to come out.

Everything went fine when Dave and Sons Plumbing came out for our claim. I had two toilets that one had to be repaired. And two sinks had problems, one was fixed but the other one wasn’t fixed because they say it wasn’t broken enough to fix. But the toilet was fixed and the sink fixed. And the two toilets and the two sinks were checked, to make sure they were working properly. The technician that came was very professional. He was friendly, too.

I had a refrigerator problem that Home Shield did a terrible job with. It went on and on. But with my air conditioner claim, they did better. Lane Services came out within six hours after I submitted a claim. I liked the rep that came out and he fixed my air conditioner that day. I'm still contemplating dumping Home Shield when my contract is up in July and go to some other vendor.

The drain pipe that was headed towards the sewer wasn't hooked up, and then it wasn't properly installed. I did a claim with American Home Shield and it was handled good. D&S Plumbing came out and then they had to come back and do a drain drum for the washing machine. The tech did great.

We couldn’t get our pool heater to come on. We were doing something wrong, so the guy from Pool and Spa Maintenance showed us what we were doing. He put a new face panel on the heater. It’s older and we were not able to read the controls any longer. He also checked an outlet for us and showed us how to use that. So, he was wonderful. After I submitted my claim to American Home Shield, he came out right away the next day. Everything’s been great.
