My heating unit was turning on but not putting out warm air. I called AHS on a Friday to submit a claim and their rep told me that it would be on Monday or Tuesday or the next week when their contractor, Air Squad Heating & Air Conditioning would call. The rep also told me that I could call Air Squad if I wanted to. As soon as she got off the phone though, Air Squad called me and they did great. Everything has been fine since they came.

I couldn’t get my water heater to work. I did a claim with American Home Shield online. I had a leak in the wall, too. MSE Plumbing said that they were booked solid for seven days, but they said I could call American Home Shield and tell them it was an emergency to get it moved up to two days. I contacted American Home Shield a second time and had them turn it into an emergency request. A contractor was dispatched in two days, but they didn’t do anything with the leak because they said it had to be visible. The only thing they really repaired was the water heater. But the contractor was on his game. He was really nice and he explained everything.

The contractor called and said they wouldn’t be out until Monday, but I pleaded, and the owner of the company called me and they sent someone that lives 45 minutes away. He drove all the way here on a Saturday, took care of my problem, and he was awesome about it. My fee was waived too, because I was out of work because of the virus. Home Shield is always quick about getting stuff fixed and this will be our second year with them.

When I needed to have my heater fixed, I requested for service online and it was super simple. I called on Wednesday and the tech came out on Saturday. He was top-notch and the unit is working great now. I've heard horror stories about American Home Shield, but so far, I have not had a single problem. I'm coming up on the first year, so I'm going to be renewing shortly.

I have a track of lights as well as outlets which were not working. I submitted a claim and AHS's contractor, R & R Electrical Allstar called ahead of time and did a preliminary diagnostic. They scheduled me for the next day and let me know that someone would be coming out. Their tech came to find what was causing the issues. Everything went well with this claim. AHS sends out qualified guys who are very friendly.

The pool pump was not working properly. Varner Spa & Pool came out . The tech told me the booster pump is going out but it wasn't covered under the warranty until it was more broken. He said that I would have to basically call back when the pump breaks more, which doesn't make very much sense to me. He repaired the sand filter, which was one of the problems that we called about and the booster pump which is making a really loud noise. He explained it to me that he doesn't want to take advantage of AHS by saying that it's broken but he said in the same token he wants to do right by me. And he told me the company will call me and follow up.
I really enjoyed that tech. He was super nice guy and did great work. However the issue of the pump is back. I'm running it at night and it's real noisy— enough that I'm concerned about my neighbors complaining and noisy enough that I have to close my windows because I can hear it. AHS was supposed to call me and follow up with me and I've been waiting for two weeks for it.

The stove knob started smoking and after I submitted the claim to American Home Shield, it took a couple of weeks for the contractor to be sent out. The technician came and looked at the stove knob. Then, he came back with the part. Since then, everything has been working great. I also had a claim for a washing machine and that went good.

We had a slight water leak on one of my water heaters and we had a toilet that was running all the time. We called it in to American Home Shield and we were told that a contractor would be out within 24 hours. They came as said and they were great. Since then, everything has been perfect.

I've been with Home Shield for over a year. I joined up under my neighbor. They were supposed to send me a $50 card, but they never sent that for me and my neighbor. We had called before and reported it and they promised they will send it, but they never did. When the furnace wouldn’t come on, I called it in and Home Shield gave me a expectation of from the time I called to 48 hours. And then, Air First Mechanical called me and said he would be here between 11:00 and 3:00, but he was right here at 11 o’clock.
I couldn’t believe it. That was the first time somebody was able to show up at 11:00. I never had that experience before where somebody automatically showed up right on time. So, I didn’t have to wait all day and I really appreciated that, too. Also, it was excellent service. He went in, diagnosed the problem really fast. He didn’t have the piece with him. He had to leave for about an hour and he came right back and put it in, and I haven’t had a problem since. The young man did a fantastic job.

We just bought the house and American Home Shield is what was offered to us when we bought it. I didn’t wanna have any surprises, but I’ve already shelled out 400 bucks. I’ve made four claims with American Home Shield and it’s just an on-going thing. I’m using my homeowner’s insurance to take care of the house right now. I call to submit my claim to AHS. It goes through a series of prompts and then to a representative. I get an email from the contractor that they’ve been contracted.
A+ Plumbing, Heating, & Cooling was out the weekend of 26th. They’re a good group of guys. I’ve got multiple plumbing issues but they got everything fixed for us to at least use the bathrooms. The last one was the septic was coming back into our house. The one particular tech that’s went here, Joe, is a really good plumber. He’s helped us in the past and he’s always taking care of anything that we needed to get done.

I started my protection with AHS at the beginning of the year. I had to go and renovate the place after my last tenant, so I figured I wasn't going to chance having problems in the future. As a matter of fact, I have two properties and I insured them both. I investigated pretty thoroughly and the providers were all about the same price. But the ratings for American Home Shield were so much higher than the other places. So many people were satisfied with the availability of service people. If there was a claim, it was taken care of properly and quickly. They seemed like a lot better company, which was why I went with them.
When the dishwasher wouldn't drain, I filed the claim online since I was in Pennsylvania and the property was in Florida. I asked pertinent questions to make sure that whoever was going out there knew exactly what the problem was. Sometimes, there are problems and people just go, "This doesn't work. I don't know what's wrong with it." But I knew that it wasn't draining, so it probably needed a pump or a screen with the drainage. The website was to the point and right after I submitted the claim, I got a confirmation email, which said to expect the contractor within two days. My tenant said that the contractor was very professional and made sure that he left the area clean. He fixed the dishwasher very quickly. They were satisfied so, I'm satisfied.

Our realtor suggested American Home Shield, and the guys from Favre's Pump and Well Service were great. I sent everything in through the website, which was definitely easy to use, and I also called the contact number to touch base with them, making sure that they have my number. The contractor contacted me as to when they were going to be here. They were very prompt and super nice. They were also friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly and suggest, "These are all your options." They didn't try to sell us on one thing. Overall, everything went really well.

It was easy to file a claim when the water heater was leaking. I just called Home Shield and they had Dean’s Plumbing & Heating give me a call and set the appointment. Then they were here. We had to get a permit to replace the water heater and they got the permit. They did the work and after that, an inspector came out and inspected it. So the experience was really simple. Dean's was great and the water heater has been perfect since.
Home Shield is great and I tell all my friends that they should get it. As a matter of fact, I just sold one of my houses and the people that bought it got the Home Shield. I think it’s great. I’ve had really a good experience with them when I first got the house in Bishop. I was out of town for about two months because I was at a horse show but my housekeeper came in and took care of my plants. When she walked through, the whole house was flooded. The valve for the water going into the icemaker had broken. I’ve only owned the house for two years so it was all brand-new stuff and Home Shield covered. They had to replace all the laminate flooring almost through the entire house, although this is a small house. But there were no problems at all. So I really have great feelings for them.

Our most recent claim with AHS went well but it took forever to get through to them and I find that to be the issue all the time. And when you finally get them, sometimes, the phone will hang up and they don't call back. Then you're on the phone for hours again, trying to get someone else. Other than that, I didn't have a problem with the contractor. We caught the leak at the very beginning, which was what saved everything. He said he didn't see any water damage as it relates to the water going through the wall, into the living room. But he said to let them know if we smell something funny.

With AHS there’s peace of mind and you have the ability to get your issue repaired without paying the whole amount. They sent out Tompkins for a microwave display. Everything went fast and efficiently. They needed to replace a motherboard and they were very good in their service. The tech was very knowledgeable. He had to wait for a part for about four days, which was not too long.

When it came to putting the claim on the website, I couldn’t explain that most of my toilets were stopped up as well as my bathtub. The whole system was backed up and there wasn’t a good way to word that. I wasn’t able to get everything I needed into that claim. Still, DNR Services came out, fixed my plumbing, and it was done. They did great. It was something I could’ve done myself, but I needed plumber strength. I learned that buying a big snake at the store, no matter how much it costs, is not as good as a plumber. They can get a huge snake with a machine that forces it through all the clog. It’s the first time I’ve had to use American Home Shield and that was easy-peasy, so I was shocked that it went so smoothly.

When my air conditioning wasn’t cooling, it took the guy about two days to come out, which wasn't as long as it usually takes. He was really nice and didn’t come in the house too much. But when he did, he was extremely professional. The air conditioning is working well now and freezing me out most of the time. But when I had trouble with my water heater, when I had trouble with my dishwasher, and the last time I had trouble with my air conditioner, it took them a long time. Overall, I’ve been pretty satisfied with AHS so far and I’ve been happy with the services.

My garage door opener would not open up and I was locked outside my home. I had no place to go and I was trapped in my car. A friend of mine recommended a locksmith, so I paid a locksmith to break in the side door on the garage. But I've had the garage door opener fixed several times through the home warranty with AHS, so I was disappointed that I was trapped out again.
Then, I contracted with AHS online to file a claim and their website was user-friendly. I'm older, so for me to understand how to do the online thing, it was easy enough. Then, I was happy that it was followed up by a phone call because I didn't know if I had done it correctly or not. So, I got an actual person to call to say that it was being honored and someone would be out to help me. Then they sent out a tech from Installation Service Inc.. I had used them before, so when AHS suggested them, I was okay with it. But I had mixed feelings because they were the ones who worked on it before and I was wondering if the garage door opener will break down again and I will be stranded again. But I was able to get a new one this time and it eased my fear. I've also used the home warranty before for different things and I was extremely disappointed. But this time around, I was extremely happy.

My thermostat was losing charge and the AC unit was kicking off in order to charge the unit. So, Airtronics had to install a separate charging wire from my AC unit down to the thermostat so that it was not kicking off, and they did that. Submitting a claim with American Home Shield is very easy. I've been a customer with them since I owned the home back in 2011. Other than raising my service call fee, everything's been fine. It's provided enough return to justify the cost every year I had. I have a pool. So every year, my pool motor, pool pump motor and cleaning pump motor go out. So the cost of replacing those motors alone is enough to pay for the service. If you have a pool, it's 100% worth it. If it's not, it's sort of hit or miss.

When we bought our house, the previous owner bought the AHS policy and we kept it that first year. They do everything well. I like that I can just go to the computer, tell them what I need and they will schedule an appointment. Generally, the response is so quick that by the time I walk out of the office into the living room, I've got a text saying the contractor will be contacting me for an appointment. Then, a few minutes later, I get another text which is a confirmation of my appointment.
The Sears techs are very professional. They make the appointment and everybody gives me a four-hour period. But they were very good at notifying us when they were on the way. They got here and fixed our problem in a relatively short amount of time. He also asked if we had any questions or if we needed anything else and he was out of here.

AHS came as a one-year gift when I bought my pre-owned home. When the first year was up, I renewed it. We’re in a small town, but there are local plumbers and appliance dealers somewhat near. However, instead of finding someone locally, AHS seemed to be sending contractors from San Antonio, a bigger town 30 miles away. I'm very pleased with the contractors though.

The contractors that came to fix our AC were very professional. With all this stuff going on with the Coronavirus, they didn’t even have to come inside our home. They did everything through the garage. They just let my husband know when they needed the AC turned on. I also had another claim for my stove and that one went fine too. The contractors fixed my oven. I also had one for my microwave and that was fixed as well. The only thing was that the amount had increased and I didn’t realize that it did. But I’m happy with AHS.

We've had Home Shield since we bought the house so it has been about a year and a few months. We just did the renewal. We wanted peace of mind, knowing that we have somebody to call if something does break down. My husband and I have a busy schedule so trying to find people to repair the sink is time-consuming. It would be good to just be able to go to one service and then they all recommend and just send somebody out to us. Lane Service was really good. The tech was very professional. He made phone calls before he arrived. He did a good job. Everything went really well. We have AC again.

GE Appliances came out for my washer and they were quick. They always call us ahead of time and say that they are gonna be here in 15 minutes. They also inform us if they are delayed because of what has been going on right now. Moreover, they always ask questions before they enter my home for precaution for the Coronavirus that we are facing right now.

Our recent claim with AHS was for the refrigerator. The guy came out. He looked at it. He said he had to order a part, and he called us that following Wednesday and we got it scheduled on Friday of that week. They ordered the part and then they came to install it and repair it. They were great. I had no problem with them. It was super easy submitting that claim to AHS. I chose to do it via phone, and within an hour, I had gotten a call from June Appliance. I had switched from a prior home warranty company that had let me sit for two and a half weeks before repairing my fridge. And that’s the reason I went to American Home Shield and I’ve been satisfied with them ever since.

I had OneGuard and I switched over in January. Recently, I called in a service request because we weren’t getting cold air. Anders Air Conditioning came out and diagnosed it. They found out that the compressor was shorted and the outside blower wasn’t turning on, so they had to order parts. They waited until they got the part in and rescheduled the installation procedure.

When our air conditioning was not cooling, I made a request online and the technician came out in two days. The unit was repaired while he was here. He had the part in his truck and did it really quick. It worked and it was great. He was very kind and super informative too.

My daughters both have older homes and getting a warranty was a good idea. We’ve had pretty good luck with American Home Shield. I’m on the account for both my daughters' and my house. When the air conditioner was, my daughter set the claim up online. Then they called to tell me the appointment and I referred them to her phone number. Doctor Cool fixed it.

Having Home Shield is worth it. The contractors have been really nice and I haven't had any issues with them. When our dryer was shutting off, we filed a claim and it was a very simple process.

Oak Valley Appliance keep finding problems with the refrigerator, so they had to order a door. As of a couple of days ago, it’s a similar problem in the door. So, they’re working very hard at it, but we still don’t have a refrigerator producing ice cubes. They’re doing a good job. We had two claims with American Home Shield. One was for the refrigerator in the past, which never got to working. And then we called them up because the washing machine quit working. So, when they were out, we said, “You know, you never got that icemaker working.” They said they’ll take care of that. So, as far as the washing machine, it was the most recent one and it was fixed. I’m a real estate broker. I’ve been giving my clients AHS coverage for years and I finally got it for myself this year. I just decided I would try it because my client seem to be happy with it. The coverage has been fine.

I've used Home Shield's website a couple of times now. It took a little getting used to, but I'm good with it now. I filed a claim for my air conditioner and they said to expect the contractors within 24 hours but it was probably within ten hours. They sent Union Services Air Conditioning out and they were very professional and courteous.

I don't have any difficulty in submitting claims. The only thing is that nobody comes right out. Sometimes, it's at least two days' wait. But this time, it wasn’t as hot. It had actually gotten a little cool here so I just had the fan going. Last year, when I called, it was probably two days' wait and it was really hot. But the contractor provided good service. The tech wasn’t here long either. He immediately saw what the problem was and got it taken care of.
This time, the air conditioner wasn’t shutting off. It was just running and it wasn’t cooling as it should’ve been. So I knew something was wrong with it because I usually have it set on automatic and it wasn’t cutting off like it should have. I called on a Thursday and the tech from Climate King didn’t come until the following Tuesday. I don't know if there’s anything American Home Shield can do about that and if not, then everything else is okay. I also saw an increase in the amount of what I pay every month because when I started paying, I was paying $49 and now, I pay right at 56. So I’m not sure what happened that it went up. I’m sure they sent something but sometimes, I don't read my stuff. With my plan, I have to pay $100 when I call them.

The service was excellent when I spoke with AHS to file an AC claim. The technician who came in was pretty respectful of this whole Coronavirus thing. He did his job and did it efficiently and quickly. The motor was out and he did what he needed to do. I felt good about American Home Shield because it would've been pretty expensive to fix that thing. It served its purpose.

NW Sundance Services came out for a plumbing issue and the tech did a good job. He was very professional when he came in and he checked over everything very thoroughly. He was really good in his diagnosis of things. He even noted that I have some other safety issue and that I should call an electrician to fix. There was an outlet right underneath my sink and if it came into contact with water, it wouldn't be a good thing. So I felt that he was very good. He went over and beyond. The only thing is that he didn't have a mask on. That would have improved that visit – to have some protective gear on, when they do come up to your door, even if it’s homemade.
I put in a claim for an electrician to come out for those safety issues that the plumber told me about. Last week when I called, we had set up a time but the tech had to change the time because he said the job would involve more time. So I said sure. But when that day came, he said that he was sick so they had to change it again to today at 10:30. Then at 10:30, he didn't show up and there was no call. However, between then and when he decided to show up, my doctor asked me to go in for a COVID-19 test. If the vendor would have called, I would have said to stop it. But at around 11:30, he just showed up.
I told him I couldn't open the door for him. I had had a COVID-19 test and the doctor has quarantined me until I get the results back. Plus the tech was really late and there had been no communication. I wanted to figure out a way to tell American Home Shield, who has already charged me $75 for a visit, to have a really delayed visit but I prefer just to reverse my charges.
I had only one other experience where I was extremely dissatisfied. Well, there was another one but we got that settled. I had someone come out and look at my furnace and when the guy came, he literally looked at it and said it seemed fine, got in his truck and left. So I sent in a complaint but the complaint was closed and nothing ever happened. I never got any money back. I ended up calling AAA Service outside of Home Shield and had them come out, give me a whole assessment and do an inspection. Long story short, I had to end up paying $1,000 for the parts that I needed for my furnace, to keep it going. That should have been looked into because my furnace is 23 years old. I've also had some good experience with American Home Shield but I've had some things where it was kinda long and drawn out to reach a deal with them as well.

When I call American Home Shield outside the regular 7:00 to 3:00 timeframe and it goes to the call center, it’s a little frustrating sometimes because it’s almost like they just want to pass you on to someone else and not really listen to the issues you have. But the initial call which started up a recent claim was seamless. I was a little hesitant with everything else going on right now but the contractor was prompt as far as scheduling and coming out as well as assessing what the issues were.

Something was wrong with my fluorescent lighting so I called the claim in and they scheduled the service within a day or so. The contractor explained to me that even though the center part of it had broken out, we could still use it. So the tech replaced my bulbs and everything is working since. The tech was timely and he was a good guy. I've had Home Shield for about four years now and everything has been done just fine. I had another company before and their prices were going up. But with Home Shield, they're more reasonable.

AHS has been fairly responsive when I've had an issue. I feel like sometimes the contractors could come faster than they do, but I don't know if American Home Shield has control over their schedules. They don't have people coming out on the weekends, but that'd be great if they could do that as well. But as far as my recent claim, the contractors were fine. Everything was done.

Submitting a claim to AHS was really easy. I appreciated it. I was able to do it all online. It was pretty simple. I received a message right away. As soon as I submitted the claim, they asked if it was okay to send a text, I said yes. I was having some water. It looked like it was leaking down the wall. I was really pleased with the service provided by the contractors. They were very prompt and professional. I'm ecstatic. It was really great experience with AHS and better than expected.

My claim for the heat that wasn't working went great. The tech came a little early, which is good to me, and he was really quick. The unit was working as soon as he left. Though AHS could lower the prices, they're unlike my other company whose contractor would come then tell me they couldn't fix the problem or tell me what it is but I still have to pay to get somebody else to fix it. With AHS, I'm paying for something and when the contractors come, they either fix the problem or replace the unit as good.

There was a time when I had an issue with AHS. I was paying directly to AHS and their contractor claimed that they came to my house. But then, they never did. Still, that was straightened out and AHS didn't charge me. I had to wait almost five months though before they claimed a buyout. So, it was hard for me. Recently, GM Appliance Service, AHS's contractor serviced my claim for an appliance issue. The tech needed a part and he told me which part that was. He ordered it and then came back to put it in. Everything has been working since then.

Our air conditioning unit was not kicking on in one of our units. Epic Mechanical came and checked in, and apparently some switch got switched off somehow. The tech was very pleasant and very efficient, and came in, discovered the situation, fixed it. Everything seemed to work pretty well after that. We were impressed because in the past, we've had some experiences where somebody would come out, and you could tell they were looking for ways to find more work but this guy didn't try to sell us a new unit. Two of our three units were brand-new and that third one, he said, is still working fine. We've had American Home Shield for probably 20 years. We stick with them because they have been reliable and had taken good care of us.

So far, everything has been coming up pretty well with AHS. I'm very satisfied with the contractor's service. He was very professional and a very nice man. I had a backflush on the kitchen sink and everything was taken care of the same day. He opened up one of the pipes that were coming out through the wall, re-piped it with the snake and fixed the issue. I'm very happy.

Our microwave was not heating and it was a few days when we noticed it. There was popcorn and I thought maybe there was something wrong with the popcorn bag. But then we realized it was not heating properly. My husband submitted a claim with American Home Shield, as he usually does it, and it was pretty easy. Our assigned vendor then was A P2 Tech Services.
We've had the home warranty for so long and I haven’t had a bad experience. With American Home Shield, it’s pretty easy and simple. We just call them and get it done. But there was one time where someone came out and fixed something for me and I don’t know if they turned something off. The contractor did something where I had to call them back out again because it switched something and it wasn’t heating. They had to come back and fix it and it was just the switch that they had.

I had Choice Home Warranty before and switched to AHS, but the copayment is a bit high at $100 per service. But the electrician they sent did a good job and fixed my issue. Before the service, I also called other electricians, but that simple thing could not be fixed.

My parents had American Home Shield and when we bought a house in Florida, we also got them. We had a lot of success in Florida and we were happy with their service. Then, we bought a brand new house up here and after about 10 years, we thought it was time to get American Home Shield again. Recently, we had an issue with our washing machine and they sent out a tech from Sears. He was awesome. We’re in the middle of this COVID thing and and I couldn’t believe people were coming out. And when he came over, he kept his distance and had it fixed within 20 minutes. I couldn’t believe it. I thought they were gonna be ordering a motor and we were gonna wait a week, then they'd be back after that. That’s the way it usually goes and I was anticipating all that. But he fixed it with no surprises and it was running within an hour after he left.

A friend mentioned American Home Shield and we looked at it and decided it was a pretty good deal. We’ve been with the company for 20 years. We filed a claim for our washer. It was not spinning very fast and it was making a lot of noise, and so the clothes were not dry. We did the claim online. The website was very easy to use. They said the contractor would contact us within one to two business days. The contractor was early. He’s been out at our house before repairing things, and he’s always very professional, very prompt and courteous. They were unable to get the parts, so they cashed it out.
Everything was fine once we finally found out that they were going to replace the item. I talked to American Home Shield the night that he came out, and talked to someone who said they were shipping the parts, but the contractor had already told me that they couldn’t get the parts. The person that I spoke with at American Home Shield was kind of not very professional, but then I got another lady who was very professional and got me in touch with the correct department, and they handled it very promptly.

They’ve been able to fix what we’ve asked them to come out and look at. When we initially set the account up, it was under my phone number and we’ve been trying for years to switch it to my husband’s phone number but it hasn’t worked. That’s a small thing though.

If I had any trouble with American Home Shield, I went straight to them. I don't dillydally around. If I had trouble with the contractors that they sent out, I got ahold of American Home Shield and I discussed it with them. I had a couple of issues on the heating and air conditioning side but those have all been resolved. So far, everything's fine. When the soap dispenser of my dishwasher would not work, I called American Home Shield's office to make the claim and Better Western Appliance was assigned to me.

The ice maker was not working properly. When I turn it off, it's still running and just freezes everything up in the back. National Platinum Service came out and mainly found out what the problem was, it was unplugged in the back of the refrigerator, a hose was loose or it wasn't connected properly, and that caused it to freeze. They had the part and fixed it right away. Now the refrigerator's running smoothly as it could be.
American Home Shield is doing a pretty good job when they do it. They've already been specific saying what they do. I had some water in the pipe once before that I used them. But the water went into the walls. The guy explained to me that it was an issue with going through the walls of the house. It was like the outside faucet and they couldn't repair that. I was kinda disappointed but I could understand what the contractor was saying. They would have to cut down my wall, go in there, and change out a little pipe, which is underground. That went far beyond what they were capable of doing.
But on the same token, though, I figured out I was paying for American Shield, they should fix it. I had two faucets on each side of the house and the remedy was I had to set one faucet completely down. I got to order an extra long hose to water the grass. I couldn't do it on either side of the house like the house was built for. That was my only complaint. Everything else that I asked them to do in the past, as well up-to-date, they did an excellent job. They were very professional, courteous, very helpful and knowledgeable.

Our upstairs air conditioner wasn’t working correctly. I called AHS and did the automated thing. I did that on a Sunday night then the people from Total Comfort called me the next day to schedule a time. The techs were very nice and gave us lots of options. They also helped us make decisions about what we needed to do and they were great. I would recommend them. And so far, everything’s worked like clockwork with AHS. We have them for 15 years now and we got great service, so we just kept renewing. Plus, the warranty has been very valuable to us. We’ve had a couple of issues and some of them would have been pretty expensive to handle without insurance. So, we’re glad that we had it.

The kitchen sink's faucet was one of those that has a stretch mechanism in it where you can pull and apparently, the thing that you pull fell, jammed up in there, and then the faucet fell off. I filed a claim online. Home Shield's website is very user-friendly. The tech from High Priority Plumbing took a few minutes to figure it out and he said that it sometimes happens with that type of faucet. He was very friendly. He had covers for his shoes and we maintained that six feet. I didn’t get in his way and he was done in minutes. I didn’t have to have to buy a new faucet. I’m happy with American Home Shield.

I had the Home Shield warranty with my previous residence. When we bought this house, that was the company that we chose to use for this residence as well. If you have an emergency, you could have something like emergency technicians. Everything is great. For an electrical issue I had, Flash Garage Door Service was sent out. It was a little motor issue so their tech was able to replace it. It took him about three minutes. He knocked it out and he took off. It worked out perfectly.

But for our recent claim, it took a couple of days for the plumber from Acrown Plumbing to come out. He repaired a leak around the drain in my kitchen sink and he was very good. Factory Warranty Services was awesome. They ordered the part and they did it in one install, one repair job. They were in and they were out. They were polite, professional, quick, and they kept me posted the whole time when they ordered the part for the appliance. It was the best repair job I’ve ever had on anything. Having a home warranty is important and AHS always seems to be able to find somebody for a repair job. I don’t have them very often, but when I need them, I need them.

American Home Shield is much better than anything we've had. We had been with another warranty company for almost eight months but they were the worst and then we ended up changing to Home Shield and they fixed the issue right away. First of all, the response time was great. In the past, we've made a couple of claims and it was four or five days before we got a technician out. It was terrible. But we didn’t wanna cancel the warranty because we don’t wanna be without any kind of home warranty so we figured it's better than nothing. But we always planned to go to Home Shield. It was just a matter when we would do it.
The problem was that the AC wasn’t responding for some reason. We would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it back on. The issue ended being the control board so that’s what Lane Services fixed. Home Shield picked pretty reputable companies and local companies too. The other vendor from the other warranty company was like a Podunk. It was like a 1% kind of contractor who was terrible. He was shady. Even though it was a local company, they were trying to do some weird some deals with us. Lane Services, on the other hand, was great. They came out the next day after we made the claim. So Home Shield is pretty good on vendors.

The compressor on my heat pump was locked and it was not doing anything. I called American Home Shield and their techs from Billy’s AC Service came out the next day. The techs were great and everything went fine. I’ve had American Home Shield since 2006 and they take care of almost everything. I’d recommend them to anybody.

People considering a home warranty program should make sure to do research for their home and understand what they need. They need to know what needs to be covered and what is covered. I haven't had any issues with American Home Shield. The AC's condensation drain was clogged and Efficiency Experts cleaned it out. Overall, AHS has been pretty helpful for me.

The capacitor of the AC needed to be replaced. There was a wire that was bad going into the capacitor. I submitted the claim online and it took me five minutes to do that. American Home Shield emailed me quickly and they told me who was going to be contacting me. A-US Air Conditioning of Texas contacted me within an hour and scheduled the appointment. They then came out and they did everything on the first visit. Previously, I had Old Republic and they ended up not wanting to renew me. So, I went with AHS -- it was a familiar name and I had heard of them before. I became a proponent of it because it saved me a lot of times on minor little issues. I have always kept one now ever since we moved to this residence we are at now. Overall, I was pleased with American Home Shield.

For my recent claim to American Home Shield, things were pretty efficient. I filled up a form online and their contractor, AZ Remodeling & Plumbing Inc. Fort Lauderdale was out within 24 hours to assess the situation. There were a couple of different things that they looked at. The primary issue was a shower faucet that wasn't working correctly. AZ Remodeling came, assessed my problem and told me they were ordering parts for it. They will follow up once those parts come in.
Thus far, I've found AHS's portal to be easy to use. I've used it twice now and I'm able to quickly request service. However, I wish that the portal gave other options or an option to put additional comments in. Right now, I only get to pick certain services and sometimes, what I get to pick from is not an exact fit for what I need. Still, their contractor AZ was professional and they did their job efficiently.

AHS comes when I call and the service is great. When the pipes under the sink were leaking and a contractor came out the first time, he changed the pipe for hot water instead of the cold water. When it leaked again, the second people who came did a great job. My son bought a house last year and I told him to get AHS. It’s easier to pay monthly instead of waiting for something drastic to happen and then they'd need to come out a couple of $100.

My appliances were all new and they were all breaking. So, I got American Home Shield and I’ve been with them for less than six months. When a horrible sound was coming from my dryer, I made a claim online. I was told at the time of the claim when to expect the contractor and he came in a couple of days. He did a great job. He knew exactly what to do and he fixed it.

The washing machine would not spin out the clothes. It washed but then everything was still soggy wet. I'm in South Dakota and my husband is in South Carolina where the home is. So, he submitted the claim and AHS sent out a tech from Star Services LLC. But he couldn’t fix it. He tried to order a motherboard and wasn’t able to, so they said they were going to replace it.All in all, AHS was excellent.

I’m a homeowner, but I don’t know if something breaks down and I’m not really handy. It’s always nice to know that I can call AHS and just for a minimum of $75, they can come out and take care of the situation. I like the convenience and support. However, there are some hits and misses with the contractors. But I don’t think that it's AHS' fault. For example, I just had a contractor come out and look at my AC. But they didn’t do what they were supposed to. And the only reason I said this ‘cause my AC broke down.
It happened to be over the weekend and unfortunately with American Home Shield, you have to submit the request, and it takes time and it can take up to a week. So, I had to contact another AC vendor and pay out of my own pocket. And when they came out they were like, “Whoever came out to service your AC last time did a horrible job.” And the way they explained it to me was like, “Your AC runs on a D battery. And what they did, they put two AAs just to get it going, but it’s not the same power, that’s why it broke down.”
And sure enough, after that, I’ve never had issues with my AC. But I had to pay out of my own pocket. And because I contacted an outside vendor, American Home Shield didn’t reimburse me. It’s so difficult to get reimbursed. But last week, I had issues with my dryer, the gentleman came in and had to order the parts, and within two days, it was done. So, it’s really hit and miss.

I’m happy with the service that AHS provides. When I had a leak in the kitchen faucet, the contractor took it apart, straightened it up and fixed it. Now it works fine. If you’re buying an older home with issues that you may or may not know about, having an AHS warranty is a great idea.

We had a couple of hot spells in Texas and when we finally turned the AC on, it wasn’t cooling at all. I called American Home Shield and told them what was going on. They said they would send somebody right out. The contractor, CityLine Air Conditioning, text-messaged and sent a picture of the individual that I was to expect and what time he’d be here. The guy who showed up was very professional and straight to the point. I've been with American Home Shield for about a year now. I chose to go with them after I googled them. They were the number one choice on the website I went to.

I like AHS's service. They have some friendly people and I like talking with them. Every time I've called them, they've had a good attitude about the things that we were doing. Last September, I had some work done on my air conditioner and I had to pay almost $700 to get it working. And from September until it got cold, the air conditioner worked fine. Then, all of a sudden, when I tried to turn it on because it was a little warm, the fan wouldn’t come on. I had just spent all this money and I was just so upset at first. But then the lady on the other end was so helpful with me. And when the contractor got here and turned it on, my fan came on. If you want a home warranty, AHS is the best way to go.

Our one experience with Home Shield has been good. Our board went out in our sensor unit. I filed a claim online and they called me. The contractor was here on time and he said the insurance would cover the board. He suggested that we get a new unit but if that didn't work, then they were gonna go get the part. He was trying to sell the unit before fixing it but then we didn't qualify for whatever financing they had. He didn't have a choice and he knew he had to fix it. Then he said he didn't have the part on the truck and he had to go order it. He was gone for 15 minutes and brought the part back to fix it.

I have a claim going on right now with my microwave. The guy had to come and he ordered a part. When he got in here to put it in, he didn’t fix it, so he had to order another part. The parts are like $450 and I’m wondering if he would not have repaired it if it weren’t for the warranty, but would have suggested replacement. But I’m assuming that American Home Shield says, “Repair it if you can.” The technician is guided more by what American Home Shield requires of him. But I haven’t had any trouble getting people out here. They’ve been out here pretty quick, especially considering with the virus. If there was someone who lived alone or someone who wasn’t handy and able to do those things, American Home Shield is great.

My light fixture went out and so I submitted the claim for it over the phone. The guy from Queen Electric came out the next day to fix the issue. He was so professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He was respectful of my home and he wore his mask. Since the repair was made, the light switch has been working fine. I highly recommend the contractor. I get some contractors into my home, but I’ve never had that level of professionalism. I was very surprised. American Home Shield should keep them around. I’ve been a customer of this home warranty company for five years now, and it is a waste of time and money because this is the third time I’ve used it. But, I’d love to be safe than sorry.

One colleague at work recommended American Home Shield. I also saw a number of positive reviews online, just looking around. The claim experiences as well as the contractors that they sent have been really good. The contractor showed up five minutes after putting my claim and fixed them as fast and left.

Our washing machine went out. I called the people with American Home Shield and they sent us a Sears guy look at it. He was here for an hour and a half. It was about irreparable and it burned up the circuit board. Somebody else came the next day and they didn't know what to do. He made a call and then he left. We got a phone call a few days after that saying that they were going to replace the washing machine. They were the one selecting the unit, and it was supposed to be delivered on March 12th. Since our washing machine has been out, our clothes have been getting awfully scarce. If it ever gets here and gets hooked up, I will be satisfied. We've had AHS since last summer, and my wife's son recommended it when we went to see him in California. He had had problems with something, and AHS replaced it right away. It also did not cost him anything.

When it comes to small stuff, American Home Shield has been good at fixing it. One time, my blade was stuck and the guy took an Allen wrench and he twisted it a couple of times. There was a hole at the bottom and it was a very simple fix. It's something I could have done, but it's okay. At another time, I had a 30-year-old AC and American Home Shield wanted to fix it rather than replace it. That was crazy. There are times when it’ll be best to replace a unit if it’s a super old item rather than repair it. Still, I’m coming up to almost four years with them and in the past, we didn’t have a choice on the contractors. I didn’t like that at all. They did a change where now I'm able to have some options on the contractors and that was a big deal. That was really good that they did that.

Home Shield is timely and pretty efficient. We had an issue one time where I didn't understand how to give feedback and I felt we've paid too much to have servicers come and were unable to fix our problem. We had a dishwasher issue and I paid $100 for them to come out and weren't able to fix it. They told us it was an electrical problem. So then, we had an electrician come out, paid $100, and he was not able to fix our problem. The dishwasher was still not working and the electrical part is still not working, and we paid $200 so that woke me up to realize if something didn't work, maybe I had to go back and say it was not fixed so we don't have to keep paying that $100 for them to work on the same issue. You could end up paying $300, $400 for different people to come out to try to fix the same problem. That was my small issue. Other than that, everything is great. We'll keep Home Shield for as long as we can.

For my plumbing claim, there was a flange at the base of the toilet that had to be replaced. The toilet also had to be installed. The person who came out said it was gonna be about four hours, but he wasn’t the one who did it. I didn't trust in what he was saying so he gave me someone else. They came out and were very professional. I was really happy and surprised when they were all done in an hour and a half.

My Realtor mentioned that American Home Shield is good, so I went with them and when there was a little leaking, we put in a request online. It was straightforward. The contractor then came out, fixed the leak in 30 minutes and it was good. It was, overall, an easy process.

My air conditioner stopped cooling and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield. We called and they put our claim in. We paid then paid our 75 bucks. Everything was great except that we submitted a claim on a Friday and no one got back to us until Monday. Still, their contractor Air Doctor AC & Heating came out the following Monday. My wife said that the guy who came was nice and knowledgable. He had the part needed in his truck and he fixed our problem in an hour. He did it all correctly.

I had no hot water one time and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield. A-English Plumbing came and diagnosed my water heater as faulty. They ordered a water heater and it came the next day at noontime. A-English came again and installed it. Working with AHS was hassle-free. I was curious cause they used the contractor that was kinda far away. Even so, I didn't have to go over lots of paperwork and their contractor informed me about what was going on.

I submitted a claim online to AHS because the hot water heater went out. The website was fine. Then I got an email and someone called me. Everybody was great. The contractors came out and checked the issue. The other guy came out the next day and installed the hot water heater. So far, so good.

So, when the technician checked it out, he said it was a contactor that he had to replace. It didn't take long to do it. We first heard about the warranty type of service through our title company and they said that we could do some research. My wife did the research and chose American Home Shield. We made a service request for a rekey and they sent out Dan’s Pro-Lock. In less than a week, someone from there came and he was really nice and very professional. He did an amazing job. That was our first claim. I’ve tried to do another claim with American Home Shield for underground sprinklers but apparently, my contract doesn’t cover that.

Submitting claims to AHS has been very easy. I call in and tell them the problem I have. They take my payment over the phone and their contractor typically calls back within the day to schedule an appointment. I've been with AHS for at least 5 years and their maintenance people have been fine. I wasn't happy with their plumbing company though when they tried to fix my sink. It seemed like they just did a pass-up job and didn't really fix the problem. Most recently, Stuart's Appliance was sent out for my dryer that wasn't heating. They diagnosed my problem to be a bad timer and they replaced that. I have told lots of people about Home Shield. I like this company.

We had a plumbing claim and everything went fine. The tech got here before I did and he had to wait a few minutes. He was on time, prompt, right on the job and courteous. He wore his mask and gloves and stayed a distance. He did a great job. He explained everything about my plumbing 'cause I wanted to know. He had to repair my faucet so he let me know how much it would cost if I didn't go with what they offered. And so, I went with the standard. Every time a tech comes out, that's $100 but I don't have any complaint with that as long as everything is fixed.

Everything was great with my recent claim with AHS. It was fast and the contractors came and fixed it right away. They came the next day after I made the call. They came on a Friday and they told me they were gonna come back on Monday because they found out what the problem was and would replace the pump. They came on Monday and replaced it. Everything works fine with AHS. I don’t have many claims, but every time something happened, I didn’t have any issues. There was a time with the air condition, they came and did something. And they thought it was with a pump. And everything has been working fine so far.

I called Home Shield for appointments and they did a good job. Downs Plumbing Came out the same day because they had a cancellation and the tech got things done quickly, and then there was no problem after that. It went fine. Sometimes, Home Shield should try to get somebody out in the same day or within a day or two. But other than that, they’ve done a good job.

Ambient Air was very informative. First, they let me know what was wrong with my AC system. Second, they told me what I needed to have corrected and that they would get back with Home Shield to see how they needed to proceed. They said Home Shield will contact me and that's exactly what happened. When Ambient Air got an okay to do the repair, they came out in a timely manner. They did an excellent job and my air is now working. This is my first call with Home Shield and so far, I'm very pleased with them. They followed the contract and I would not have known what companies to contact, yet they did that for me.
They selected an exceptionally good group of people handle my issue as well. I would definitely recommend my family members and friends. For me to recommend them to anyone that I'm connected to, that means I think highly of the company. From my experience, I feel comfortable knowing that if I have any problem with anything that I got covered, it would be well taken care of. Especially during these times, I need to know that I have some type of warranty or someone I can call directly that would take care of my issues without me having to go and try to find reputable persons.

Our dishwasher wasn’t pumping any water. The tech had to replace the motor on it. He had to order the part, and he came back and put the part in. He was great, very knowledgeable, courteous and very prompt. He did a great job.

Herbert Plumbing's contractor replaced the water heater. I put in the claim at Thursday and then he replaced it Monday, because there was a weekend in there. He was great. Everything was good. Our only issue with this claim was there was a bigger fee than we expected. In the past, every time we got something fixed, we just paid our deductible. But this time, maybe because of the age of our water heater or something, we ended up having to pay an additional $600 out of pocket. So, the contractor didn't say what Home Shield covered and what his fees were. We've been paying for this service that we think is going to cover a repair and then the contractor came and it was, "Well, we don't cover your repair." That was disappointing because we've been paying Home Shield for five years now. We tried calling them but unfortunately, you get some call center and it's really difficult to understand them.

We moved in, and we immediately had an issue a few days later. We went online to submit a sink stoppage claim and it was easy. The claim went well too. The contractor communicated really well. There was a lot of text message updates saying when they were on their way, so we had a heads up when they’d arrive. The guy arrived right at the beginning of the time window we were given and he was great. He was professional. He took care of the issue and addressed it. Overall, the experience was seamless from the user end.

At first, with all these problems I had going on, I wasn't sure about getting an appointment with American Home Shield but their service was fantastic. I went online and I got a message back and said to call. Then I tried calling that number, but they ended up calling me and I had gotten an appointment for the next day. It was really quick getting a response back. The technician was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I was very pleased with getting this washer fixed and it was a simple fix that he knew. The tech who was sent by AHS from Southern Comfort HVAC Inc. was courteous and professional. He came out, stated his business name and pulled up in a legit truck. He went upstairs into the attic and checked the system there. He also checked the system outside and told me what the issue was. He then told me he would get with AHS. According to the tech, my issue is the compressor in my unit. However, he didn't tell me whether or not there is an actual leak in my system.
AHS said that my unit is repairable. I told them that regardless of whether or not it's repairable, it's still an inefficient style of an HVAC unit with an inefficient compressor. They then told me that it would be $85 per pound of Freon after the discount they give me. So, that would come up to $700 on my end just to fill it up. I told them that is ridiculous. I then got a call back from AHS saying that they would pay $543 to have my compressor replaced and have Southern Comfort put in a new compressor in but I would have to pay for the Freon.

I have rental houses. Stuff would break and it would be a pain to get contractors. My real estate agent who also had rental properties told me it's easier to have a warranty for a lot of the smaller problems. I got AHS and one time, I had some issues with a couple of switches for lights as well as a couple of outlets that weren't working right. I went online and submitted a claim to American Home Shield. Their contractor from Hopwood Electric, LLC came and he was really good. I've been happy with my AHS warranty.

The first plumber that came in for my claim seemed like he didn’t pay attention to my concerns. I know my house and the sink always drains really fast. And I know he put his snake down, the water started going, but I knew it was going not like the way I’ve seen it before. I told him, maybe, he needed to go a little bit farther. “No," he said. “It’s is fine. It’s draining.” I didn’t say anything anymore. Three weeks went by and it got clogged again. Whatever was in there, it was still there because it was clogged again. The same company sent another plumber, and this one, he really did a good job because I noticed the drain was working like it did before the stoppage. And so far, that has been working fine.
I had another claim, with my refrigerator, something was wrong with the filter. I called AHS and then they sent this company, California Appliances Repair. The guy that came in looked like he did not know how to fix the problem with the refrigerator ‘cause I saw he was mad. His face was like really upset ‘cause he could not figure it out why my filter was not working. I was trying to talk to him and he was like angry, and the way he walked in the house and the way he left, not even giving me what was going on with the refrigerator. He told me that there was a part that he need to order, the filter.
Now, I called American Home Shield and I told them I didn’t feel comfortable with this guy. And I could say he did not know about this refrigerator. I asked if they could send somebody out. He said, “No. You have to have the same company.” And so, after the first time the guy came back again and he was stressed so that he was having a hard time trying to fix the issue. And he didn’t change the filter, but he moved some wires like he was looking on the top. And then, he opened the refrigerator. I helped in taking everything out from the refrigerator ‘cause he needed to open the back of the refrigerator. And then, I saw he was very angry. He didn’t know what customer service was because he didn't talk to me to communicate the concerns.
He opened the doors and with his drill. I saw him so mad for whatever and I went in my room. I just left him alone in the kitchen. He kept on working and then I heard this huge like, “BAM!” I came out. He looked like he already finished fixing the inside of the refrigerator, the top two doors. And then, I saw he had two knee pads on his knees and the bottom was already closed, he said he was done. I didn’t say anything. I thought he was going out the door. At the time, he just got his tools and walked out the door, just like that. And then, I told him outside, “Am I supposed to sign a paper?” And that was when he got this paper, and he put notes on the paper what he had done, reset control board, wire about connector. And then, when I went and I looked, there were scratches in my refrigerator from the drill that he was going in and out on the plastic, and then, two dents on the bottom of the freezer that close the door.
And then, I called AHS and the person that I talked to on the phone told me that they could not do anything about it and that I will have to call the company. She wouldn’t even bother to say, “Let me call them up and see what happens, if they get from there right away.” If they know how to value me, call the California Appliances Repair. I was so frustrated with this contractor, so frustrated with American Home Shield, the way they respond to me on this issue. I wouldn’t recommend AHS. I’m very disappointed.

After paying to repair my air conditioner, I decided I needed to get a home warranty. I remembered I had been getting emails from American Home Shield that I didn't pay attention to. I went with them and one time, I put in a claim for another air conditioning issue. AHS had their contractor reach out to me and I dealt with their tech from there. They worked as fast as they good. With all the stuff going on, the mail has slowed down and the tech was appreciative that I was understanding that it was not his fault that he can’t get the compressor needed.

I had a plumbing issue and American Home Shield sent A & M Plumbing. They took care of everything, and I haven't had any issues since then. They were here for about an hour and a half. It took a little while for them to resolve the issue because they had to redo the whole thing. They were friendly and good, too. I love having the home warranty. It is definitely great.

American Home Shield has been great. There have been a couple of things they fixed for me. When a plumbing on the filter leading to the backwash broke down and the PVC pipes were broken, I called them. I started out with the automated system but I ended up speaking to a representative. They said that the contractor they selected would contact me with the time that they could be here and that’s exactly what happened. The tech that came, Jason, was outstanding. At another time, the dishwasher needed a control board and American Home Shield recommended a contractor. They came out and they were outstanding too.

We had a one-year plan with AHS then it lapsed sometime in the fall and I wasn't aware of that. We really had a good experience and we thought we'd go ahead and do it again. Recently, my air conditioner wasn't cooling right. Perry Mechanical LLC came out, diagnosed it, and found that the freon was low and there was a bad capacitor. The guy didn't have the capacitor on his truck. He put two tons of freon in the air conditioner and charged me 200 some bucks. I paid for that and he left. He came back about five days later and put the capacitor on. He checked the charge and it seemed to be still holding and not leaking at this time. He was a nice guy and professional. Also, the company did a good job of explaining what was wrong. They also explained why I had to pay a couple of hundred dollars based on the AHS policy. They showed up on time as well. I would have them come back and service my air conditioner again.

A guy from Watertight Pool & Spa came out. He thought he figured out what was wrong pretty quickly. But he had to get another parts, so it had to be the next day. We're in a different time right now so I understood that. And then, he came back, put it all together, and then from that, he found another issue which he wouldn’t have found until he did the first issue. It didn’t work. So, he changed one thing that had to be changed, and then whenever he went to start it, it wouldn’t start. And then, he was able to come back later that day and fixed it. He didn’t put a Band-Aid on it, and then he had to come back later like he said. There were two things that had to be changed but he didn’t know about the second. I haven’t had any issues since so he did good. I just called and talked to Home Shield yesterday. I'm starting my third year.

I got a warranty from AHS because somebody I knew had used AHS for years and were happy with them. The vendor that came for our recent claim was great, professional and clean. He told me what he would do if he couldn’t fix it right on the spot. He told me about how many days to expect and came back right when he said and took care of it.

My condenser was freezing over. So, I cleaned it myself, and then it froze over again, so that's when I put in a claim to American Home Shield. Hedberg came in and said the system was working well. It was a little low on Freon, so they put a little bit of Freon in it. They said that was gonna be no cost. Everything else looks fine, the condenser coil just needs a deep cleaning and that is not covered. It would have to be out of pocket. The deep cleaning would consist of cutting it out and power washing it. It's a whole process. They said that's the only thing they could think it could be because all the numbers are running well. But ever since they came by and they put the Freon, the AC has been working amazing. It's running better than it was before.
American Home Shield did great. I actually have a situation right now. I also had another ticket in for Best Tex Plumbing. They put in the approval for a toilet. My toilet is literally off the floor, broken, all from the bottom out. So, they were trying to see if they can get the approval expedited. That's what I'm just waiting on now because I had a whole bunch of water all over the floor, which has been cleaned up but I got a hole in the ground because the toilet's destroyed.

I had a couple of service calls during my first year with American Home Shield. The very first service call was extremely frustrating because it was clearly a breach of contract. I work with construction law a lot. The contract states it covers all defects and labor. There was poor labor or installation on the water heater and they would cover the cost to replace the water heater but it was just the water heater itself. They would not cover the cost for the shoddy labor. On top of that, the plumber that American Shield used was price gouging substantially. He was changing maybe 15 feet of PVC and he wanted to charge over $2,000 for that. The materials alone were $30. Being in construction and knowing what things cost, I was furious. I just fixed it all myself.
AHS could’ve been honest. The sole purpose of the lady on the call was just to argue and was trying to create a gray area. But the contract was black and white. Had I wanted to take that to a legal approach, AHS would've lost completely. That’s not how you take care of customers. If it’s clear-cut like that, you need to do the right thing and take care of your customers.
But the following couple of service calls to AHS were proper. It was worth the peace of mind in case the HVAC system broke down. I gave AHS one more year to see how they would do. So far, I’ve been happy with them. I used them for a spa claim and they had Expert Pools come out. They were absolutely awesome. I got text messages on the way before and after from an arrival standpoint. The tech fixed the problem very rapidly so it was one of the best service calls I’ve ever experienced.

I did a bunch of searches and talked to different people that had home warranty companies. Home Shield did pretty good. I’ve been fairly impressed and pleased with their timeliness when I had to call. They’re quick to respond. The latest contractor that came out was for my AC. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was quick to get things done and answered any questions I had just because I haven’t done a whole lot with this type of stuff. We’ve been through some things that happened where I couldn’t pay a bill and they were very kind to let me pay it later without hurting me too much so it has been really neat. They’ve been really helpful folks.

My recent claim with AHS regarding our plumbing went great. The issue was the water heater. I called one day and the contractors came out the next day and replaced it the next day. It was all done within a couple of days. They were very quick. Our coverage with AHS is good. It would have been nice if they covered the permits that needed to be pulled, though. But they're pretty responsive and they called to follow up and make sure that I got the service, so I appreciated that.

I submitted a claim to AHS and they told me they would have their contractor out within a day. AM PM Plumbing came out and they were on time. They were very professional and they fixed the leak in my plumbing. Things have been fine since then.

Compared to the warranty I had, Home Shield appeared like they covered more and they cost less. One thing I'm very dissatisfied with them is that I put a work order for my furnace in November of 2019 and I don’t think they covered what they should have. One of the companies that they sent out here, Southern HVAC, did a preventive maintenance check. They kinda found some issues, but they said they couldn’t submit that to the home warranty because it was just preventive maintenance. I had to pay another service call fee and the people never came back out. But then they submitted to the warranty company. They said the whole furnace needed to be replaced and my wife and I had to pay about $1,200 out-of-pocket. Home Shield said we can do a cashout and they said that they would pay up to 400 and some dollars to get somebody else doing it. But if I’m already paying $1,200 for fittings and extension, then that’s not doing me any good.
We would have to see about how we can come up with that kinda money to get the furnace replaced because the gas company came by and said that the furnace is not safe to use because it could let out carbon monoxide and that’s deadly. Also, they said if the gentleman just came out, they should have sucked all that extra debris and there's a switch that has to be cut off for the furnace to cut on or it won’t turn on. There were all these things that the contractor didn’t do. I talked to two reps at American Home Shield and they said that it had been 60 days and the claim had expired. We gotta pay another service call fee just to get them to come back out. But with the dryer claim I had, Green's Appliance set an appointment the very next day. They fixed the issue, which was a timer switch and they did a great job.

Home Shield has always been right on top of it and I have service with them a couple of days usually after I’ve requested a claim. We had a bedroom light that was flashing. It would be on for a little while, and then it would almost strobe. It was annoying. Ragan and Molinet Electrical had to come twice. The tech did what he thought it was the first time and then the problem came back that evening. They were back a couple of days later and we’ve had no other problems since then in our home. The tech said he did everything he could. If that didn’t fix the problem, then he would have to go into the wall, and we hoped not to have to do that, but he seemed to have fixed it. He was great. He was very personable and professional. He explained everything to me, told me what he was going to do, and what he did. I was very happy with him. I’ve always been really happy with Home Shield.

The temperature of the front left burner would go up and stay up no matter what setting it was on. I then went online and had to find my account number -- everything was smooth. And then I had somebody calling me and we set up a date for Sears of Kansas City to come out and take a look at what was going on. After that, they ordered the part. When it got here, someone else came back and put it in. We didn’t have to call anymore or do any more paperwork. It was one email and it was very simple. It has been working fine now after they put the part in. I’ve been living here for about 13 years and some of my appliances are old, like my washer and dryer is at least 13 years old. They are still functioning fine, but we said, “We might as well protect them if we can,” so we got American Home Shield.

The people that answered the phones on the call center are very difficult to understand and they seem to repeat a lot of the same thing. Still, when they sent out Professional Plumbing Services, they were on time and everything is well. Having a home warranty is an absolute requirement and I've had American Home Shield for 10 years.

We've had Home Shield for at least seven years and they've been very good to us. We had a water spot in our ceiling in the kitchen once and we figured it was coming from the upstairs bathroom. I made a request online and that was super easy and simple. Five days later, a very nice guy came and went up there with me to help me try to diagnose the problem. It was great. Since Home Shield doesn't fix the drywall and I wanted to minimize cutting a giant hole in my wall, I told him I didn't want to cut into the walls and things. He gave me some advice on what we could do to see if it was a real problem or not, like putting more caulk around the tubs and different cracks. He pointed out a number of different cracks, so we did that. He also told me that it's under a 60-day warranty, so if it doesn't work, then he would come back again. Now, we're just waiting to see if that takes care of it.

The latch on the dishwasher was broken. I tried to fix it, but it was obvious it was broken. When we called American Home Shield it turned out that was the correct evaluation. The process was pretty smooth. The contractor called us about when they were coming out and narrowed the time down from 8:00 to 5:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon. The guy got here a couple of minutes late, but he figured out what was wrong, ordered the parts, scheduled another appointment. We got the parts on Thursday night, and I called Friday so they showed up Saturday. The guy replaced the door gasket. It took him probably less than 30 seconds to put the part in. It was fixed. He did it flawlessly.

Our ice maker quit working. My husband called American Home Shield and their contractor, The Fridge Guy, came out and looked at it. The tech figured out what the issue was. He ordered the part and came at the time he said he would. He was pleasant too. This claim was very well executed by AHS.

I like the fast service if I needed to get something done. And when I call, the contractor usually scheduled it pretty quick. For our recent claim, the plumber came out after only a couple of days which was not bad, considering everything that's going on. I love Home Shield. However, I’d like to speak to someone that speaks English. They connected to a call center, which I understand, people have to work. But sometimes, the translation gets a little lost. But otherwise, it has been okay. The toilet sounded like it was running all the time or flushing by itself. And apparently, there was a leak somewhere that Circa Mechanical had to fix. It sounded like it was pretty involved when the guy was in there. He did a lot of work and got it all done in one day. He was very friendly.

Our AC had a problem. It was a Sunday and we needed somebody right away. We had an air conditioning company come out, one of the biggest ones here, and our bill was estimated to be $22,000. I told them that was ridiculous, so they dropped the price down to $17,000. I still told them it was ridiculous, then they took down another few hundred dollars.
So, I called American Home Shield and told them that we needed somebody out. And they got somebody out from A-US Air Conditioning of Texas the following day. When their tech came in, it turned out that I didn’t need the entire system replaced. All I needed was a fan and the gentleman that handled it was in and out. Since we didn’t want to be within six feet of each other because of the virus, he stayed outside completely and did everything in the garage, up in the attic, and six feet away. He also asked me to set our thermostat on this and that, then he knocked on the door a couple more times and told me what to do with the thermostat. I couldn’t be happier with the service and he was as first class as you can get. Not only was he efficient and did it like he was supposed to, but he was also a clean and nice guy.

A friend of mine recommended Home Shield. I had some questions about the first contractor, but the second fellow came out and immediately told us that on the previous visit, the tech discovered that the refrigerator was defective but he didn’t say anything to me. So when I called back and got the second tech, he said he noticed in the notes that the refrigerator was defective and that he would send in to the company and let them know that the refrigerator needed to be replaced. I replaced it last month.

I called American Home Shield and I spoke to someone. I let them know exactly what was going on with the switches and how many I had that were not working. I had a switch that wouldn’t turn on and there was another one, one of those bypass type switches, that was not working at all. It went out and was bad. The rep sent me the information on the contracting company, Hopwood Electrical. She told me who was gonna come then she emailed it to me as well.
The tech came out and I showed him the switches then he went and fixed whatever needed to be fixed. Afterwards, he asked me to make sure if everything was okay and if I needed anything else. He was perfectly fine and really professional. He came in and he knew exactly what to do. I didn't have a problem with the electrical company. That was wonderful. But I've had two companies come out here. The other one was for appliances and I had an issue with them. Home Shield told me that I had to find an electrical person to deal with the problem I was having with my oven. But I couldn’t get in contact with them.
Nonetheless, I love American Home Shield. The only thing I have an issue with is when it comes time for renewal. I know I’m busy and when it comes time for renewal, I forget to call them. It happens every year. I’m also not so much familiar with their services. So I would like to have someone call me before renewal to give some tips. If there’s a next step available where something else could be given to me, to see if there’s something else I need that can be covered, I would like to know. I wish that they could really explain some of the things more. That aside, my experience is good. I have very good rapport with them.

I called Home Shield because there was so much wrong with the house when I first moved in. The contractor did not show up when they were supposed to, which was the 9th. But they called and asked to send a message to reschedule it for the 17th and they came. They said they couldn’t fix the stove. Then, I called and put the claim in for Home Shield to come out to check out the dishwasher because the water was running out. The plumber that they initially sent said it wasn’t the sink or the garbage disposal and that it was the dishwasher. When the tech came, he said it was not the dishwasher, it was the garbage disposal. He showed me where it was. They responded promptly and they proved it wasn’t the dishwasher. The tech looked at the refrigerator while he was here and said there was nothing wrong with it. He said I had an overflow where the ice is, which wasn’t coming out.
Also, I called in for the washer and dryer and I’m not satisfied with that claim. There was something wrong with the balance of it. The GE tech they sent out told me there was nothing wrong with the washing machine and I just had to make sure the load was balanced, that way it would stay stable when it's washing. I have never in my life heard of anything like that before and there is no reason for this washing machine to walk from the back wall to the front wall. Home Shield needs to reassess who they do business with. But I was quite happy with the GE tech that was sent out regarding the electrical part in the circuit breaker box. He identified what the problem was, verified that the wire had melted, checked the breaker, assessed the whole situation and quickly fixed it.

Our AC unit was running constantly whether it was the heat or the cooling system, especially when it would get warm outside. Now, spring is starting down here in Georgia. The AC would get down to 74 even. We didn’t have it super high and 10 minutes later, it’d be running again. I made a claim with AHS and they sent out AAction Air. When they first came out to kinda check out the condenser outside, I wasn’t sure if it was an issue there or a short in the system. They went and looked at the Freon and found a giant leak. They told that the system was just eating the Freon and it was losing it like crazy. They took care of all that. They were awesome. I got a call from AHS saying that they've decided that the system that’s up in the attic needed to be replaced so they replaced that.
We did AHS during closing and it was at the end of August when my coverage started. We had a good experience with a couple of calls that we’ve had to make. I made one for pests, one for the AC and for something else. Everything’s been great so far. The techs were always on time and they always called when they were on their way. They were very professional and very easy to work with. We’re pretty sure we’re gonna go ahead and renew with AHS when it’s time for us to talk about it. As long as things look good, we’re gonna probably plan on renewing the home warranty for another year or so at least.

I then called back to get in contact with Sears, and then they put me in contact with All Brand Appliances. They came to my house and fixed my ice maker. It's working now and I'm very satisfied with AHS.

AHS has been very good for me. For my recent appliance claim, their contractor, Sharper Service Solutions, was absolutely outstanding. It was unfortunate that they found three problems. Still, AHS was very simple about getting it all done. I also have AHS's warranty at my beach house in Grapeview. There, it's a little tougher to work with the warranty 'cause there aren't a lot of service providers. Anything AHS can improve there would make it easier for me to contact third-party providers and get them paid. I've had AHS for almost two years now for my beach house and for five months for my primary residence. I'm considering buying their warranty for all my rentals. I'm a happy customer.

When my water heater was leaking, I did the claim, as I typically do, online. It was pretty simple – just a couple clicks and that’s it. The contractor would notify me. First Response was also able to come out relatively quickly as contractors usually do. This guy was excellent too. He identified the problem and told me what he thought needed to be done and that he would take care of things on his end. So I was very impressed. I was very satisfied and would highly recommend American Home Shield to anybody. I got the warranty because we had just bought our home and it was an older home. Plus I had never owned a home before. But having to rent homes, I know that things go wrong. I wanted the peace of mind because I know I can’t afford all the new appliances.

My furnace wasn’t working. Submitting the claim with American Home Shield was pretty easy once I figured out how to do it online. I’m starting to do my claims online. In the past, when I did one before, I did it on the phone. But this time, I was able to do it online, and it worked out fine. C and R Repair came out three times but they were always out the next business day. They were great. I was very pleased with the techs and their professionalism. I highly recommend them. Since the repairs, I now have heat. It’s wonderful. We’re really happy with AHS because this would’ve been about a $900 repair. And I got peace of mind knowing that it’s there and I can call them and they take care of everything.

A part of my hot water heater went out so I called American Home Shield to submit a claim. The contractors came and fixed that. And then, we called them again 'cause I have a gas leak, but then they said that they weren't servicing Victoria anymore. So now, we're currently trying to find someone to come fix that. The contractors that came were great. My problem is with AHS. I can't get anything done. Every time I call them, it's like I'm having to find my own company right now. They send me 15 companies that they don't deal with. I'm like, I pay $77 a month for American Home Shield, and I'm still having to try to find someone to come out and fix my gas leak. Also, they were telling me that I was gonna have to pay for it upfront and never gonna pay me back. I told them, "Nope, I'm not doing that either because that's why I pay my $75 fee that I've already paid them." I'm not very happy with AHS at the moment.

None of the outlets were working outside and that was when the technician came in. It was pretty easy to submit the claim with AHS. But the categorization of the issues is limited. It would’ve been better where I could put a little bit of explanation of what the issue was. Other than that, the technician from Ryco Electric came within 48 hours and they fixed the issue right away. The gentleman fixed one breaker and the other two were not fully functional, but he said he couldn't replace per the guidelines because he was able to get the power in it even though the reset switch didn't work. Prior to that, he was able to replace for the breaker. Overall, American Home Shield is a good program.

My claim with American Home Shield went pretty smoothly. I just purchased the new appliance right through them, so I didn't have to have anything upfront. The contractors they sent out were very friendly. I did my claim online. It was very speedy. On the most recent one I did, the contractor was here the same day I put the claim in. The whole Corona thing was going on, so maybe they weren’t busy, but it worked so good for me. Also, they protected themselves as well as us very well.

When my disposal was not grinding at all, filing the claim for it was extremely easy. I put the claim in around 9:30 and I instantly got an email stating that AHS had received my claim and then within five minutes, they told me who the company that was gonna be contacting me was. That company called me at 10:54 AM and said that they could have somebody here between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. I looked at the clock and said that 11:00 AM was in six minutes. I was told that they have a contractor out in the field and their appointment just got canceled. The contractor was here by 12:30 and was done by before 1:00.
I felt really good making the first call to AHS because I was so educated before I even signed up with them. I called them when I was shopping and the person on the line was so informative that it made the decision really easy. The rep went through all the different scenarios and what he recommended as our plan. I've recommended AHS to another person who was looking for a home warranty company. I said that I just had my first experience with them and it was unbelievable.

I’ve used Flash Garage Door Services through American Home Shield on two different properties. They were pretty prompt and real courteous. And they fixed the problem on both of them. For my last claim, the actual shaft that drives the chain had broke and I requested for a service online. The website of AHS was plenty user-friendly and within about 30 minutes, I had a text telling me the techs would be out the next day. They were great and the guys that came were professional. They got in there, did their work, and left.

My AC wasn't turning on one time. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield and their guy from Total Air Care came and did a good job. It turned out that a line was clogged. There was something that would come up and when the water hits that, it stops the AC. He cleaned up after himself and made sure that things were the way they were when he got to my location. I've been with AHS for a couple of years now. I had an occasion when I had a problem with two of my ACs which I fixed on my own before their guy had a chance to come over. I had no problems getting my money refunded. I'm quite pleased with this warranty.

The contractor came out for a refrigerator issue, and then they came out for my home heating system about a week later. They fixed both issues. With the refrigerator, one of the blowers was bad and they had to order the part. Then my heater was blowing cold air and they said the pilot light went out and there was some tube that they had to clean and resand because it got corrosion on it. They did a fast job. They were here, they got it done and they were out the door. They were professional and courteous. I couldn't have been more happier.

Updated on 04/16/2020: I was denied my claim on my ceiling fan because I didn't properly install it (4yrs of continuous payments), I could not speak to anybody, finally I decided to let the world know, and left an honest review. I was contacted by Kim (American Homes rep). I replied and never heard from her, I decided it's time to cancel, after 4 Yrs they are now trying to bill me for early cancelation, the person on the phone said, because my account is drafted every month, that every February my contract is renewed, never heard of this madness,, please America, this is not a good company. #stayaway
Original review: I (family) have been with the company around 4yrs straight, due to my traveling, I felt comfortable if anything broke, I can get repairs in a timely manner. This came to a screaming halt, 2 ceiling fans broke, and they denied the claim on one because, it was said I didn't install it properly, I couldn't believe what was being told to me, I cannot speak to an American, customer complaints have to be mailed in. I get American Home Shield. They get your money and deny, just didn't think it would happen for a 300.00 fan. I am not complaining just warning everyone from my lodge, military veterans, to anyone with breath in their lungs. Stay away!!! Stay away from this company. It's not for Americans, their customer reps are all from the Philippines and half of them you will not understand, today is Saturday 04 April 20, I will warn people to stay away, starting now.

I've had two experiences with American Home Shield. The first one was good, but he still has not been able to do anything to the washer, and he's replaced parts. And I was so unimpressed I wouldn't want him to come back again if I can. He was from Appliance Doctor. He never called me, I had to call him. My washer sounds like it's going to break every time I run it and I still have to put buckets of water in my washer. It's horrible. He said he fixed it and then, we had to go out of town because of a sick parent so he just dropped the ball for another month. It's still working but my husband can't sleep because it is too loud so I can't run the wash.
My life has been so busy with everything going on and we had to go to town. But I sent him emails, pictures, a video of the washer when he said it was fixed the first time. He said he'll have another part but somebody told me they're not gonna replace it if it's just making noise. But the issue with the water still doesn't work. It fills it low and I have to put three or four buckets of water in it to make sure it doesn't break or sound worse. If my washer was broke, I would probably want to cancel it because I would have to go pay for a washer. I can't wait for three months. On the other hand the gentleman that came out and diagnosed the dishwasher was awesome. He would text so I know exactly when he's coming. He came and he was professional. He said it takes a week for a part. I knew what was going on unlike with the other guy. MC2 Appliance was good.

Recently, one of the burners wasn't working. The ignition was broken somehow. American Home Shield sent GE Appliances and they fixed it. The guy was very knowledgeable. However, when I called AHS for service last month about the faucet, they sent some guy who was not professional. He said that it was a cosmetic issue, but it wasn't, so they sent another guy. He said that it was broken and took close to 10 days for that thing to get fixed. AHS should need to vet their contractor before they send them to their customer. Other than that, I had no issues from a coverage perspective, but at the same time, it's a brand new account. I need to wait with the whole judgement wise. So far, I'm pretty happy with their service, especially the last one.

I’ve got one outstanding repair with AHS that I need to settle on, but my most recent experience was good. My Appliance Repair came on a Tuesday. The guy knocked off a Nest thermostat cap. It was expensive and we were worried about that a while, but we found it. He was very thorough and diligent in looking at the problem that we didn’t settle. Our ice maker wasn’t working and we needed to get a new refrigerator as a result. I was pleased that someone with AHS followed up about the refrigerator and the process of replacing it the next day. By and large, my experience with them has been positive. Sometimes, there is a little bit of a communication gap, but they follow up in a timely manner and use good vendors. Although not all vendors are created equal, if it’s a problem that’s easily identifiable, AHS can get the right person on it and get it taken care of.

Our freezer wasn’t freezing too hard, our refrigerator wasn’t cooling at all, and we couldn’t get any ice from the ice maker. James Appliance Repair came out. He was a very nice and decent man, very friendly, and professional. He got right on the job and didn’t take him long to diagnose it. He ordered a couple of parts and once parts came in, he called us up. He kept us informed. We were real impressed with how he handled it. He did the job very well. We didn’t lose any food.

I was referred by a friend to AHS and I was glad that I was. Last time the water wasn’t coming in our washing machine, and the technician was excellent. I’m very satisfied with AHS. I call them early and they're receptive and they let me know that I have a technician that’s coming, and if I choose to call them, I can and they’ll call me. Sometimes it may take a little time and it would tell you how long, but once I get with them, they’ll immediately tell me that I have a technician that if I choose, I can call them myself, but they tell me they have me connected with a technician. So sometimes it depends. It may take a little while but like I said, I’m very satisfied and it’s worth the wait.

American Home Shield has been good so far. Recently we had the hot water heaters go out and the first company they sent out could not work on them and it took them another two days to get somebody else here. The next company was outstanding. The water heater’s good ever since.

American Home Shield has been great. We’ve been impressed with how quickly they assigned technicians or vendors to come and it’s been a good service. The system automatically puts you to their automated service request though. If you have a question about service, it’s very challenging to figure out how to speak with someone. That’s why we do everything online. It's more convenient. We recently had a plumbing issue and the guy came out in 24 hours. He was professional. He completed the work quickly and efficiently too. Now, they are all working well.

Every year, we have multiple things go out that Home Shield has come out and fixed. Most of the time, their service is prompt, unless whoever they send out is swamped, which is understandable. We have a pool and it would be nice if there are more offers on the pool. But other than that, I've never had a problem getting through to have anybody come out to work on anything in our house. And so far, everybody has been very well and everything has been fixed.

Everything was fine with our recent claim with AHS regarding our AC unit. The contractor was quick. He was polite. He came out, did the job and explained to me what was going on and it’s fixed. We’ve had issues in the past with AHS sometimes, but for the most part, in the last few times, it worked really nice.

Previously, I was with Choice Home Warranty and their reps told me they covered everything. I got their flyer online and when I started to read the fine print, I found that they cover hardly anything. I then looked to American Home Shield and started reading their fine print. I was pretty impressed 'cause they covered a lot more. I went with AHS and recently, I had a leak in my toilet and the woman who took my call for AHS was great. The contractor they sent, Econo-Rooter, was an incredible place to deal with. Their tech was a great man and did a great job. I would recommend this contractor to anybody.

The people who American Home Shield has working for them aren’t working out. Honesty Mechanical came out for our AC unit, but they haven’t been back to fix it. I asked on Thursday, and the tech said he would have turn it over to the install people. Then on Friday, I called. I was just trying to find out when I can expect him to come, and the person was already gone for the day. And then on Saturday, I called American Home Shield, and the rep called them. She told me the same thing. “They were gone for the day, but they should do it within 48 hours.” Today, I called and the first time I called, the tech was at lunch. Then the second time I called, he was on another line. So, I still haven’t been able to find out what’s going on.
American Home Shield told me everything that they could. Honesty Mechanical hasn’t done what they’re supposed to do. They could at least told me, “This is the way it works. We have to get approval from our boss. And then when we get approval from our boss, we have to do A, B, and C” to give me an indication of when. To me, it’s like they’re jumping around the bush and right now, I’m very dissatisfied with Honesty Mechanical.
Every time I’ve called American Home Shield, their rep said, “I’m gonna call them right now,” she put me on hold, and she came back with the same information that I had. Now, I didn’t tell her what they told me. She came back with the same information, and she told me, “If in 48 hours, they don’t get back to you, call me.” I thought, “Okay, they should get back to me Monday.” I didn’t hear anything. I didn’t call them. I am gonna call American Home Shield tomorrow instead of calling Honesty Mechanical because I don’t know what they’re doing.
We also had another service call about something where Rapp’s told me that I have to pay $1,046 out-of-pocket. I also found out they were the same as Honesty Mechanical. I called American Home Shield and I told the rep, “Well, look, you told us it was only gonna be 9 something, and that was if they needed all the parts.” So, she said, “That’s what it is.” She called the company back. She also said, “You only pay 9 something, whatever, and if they give you another problem, you call me back.” She was really good.

We were trying to hook up my washer and dryer. We had the install company come out and the hot water valve was C-shut so we couldn’t open it so I used the AHS website and filled out the claim saying that we had a plumbing problem, and we had gotten in contact with someone pretty easily. AM/PM plumbing was very good. They came out and did their job and they did it professionally and very efficiently.

With American Home Shield, it takes so long to get an appliance repaired. For some things, I can wait out for a month but then for other things, I can't. I had a washer go out some time ago and it took them forever to repair it. I ended up having to go buy one. Finally, their guy came out and fixed my washer so I now have an extra washing machine in my laundry room. The issue is the way their system is set up. I have to tell Home Shield then they would order and send parts. By the time all that happens, two weeks would have passed. Other than this issue though, I'm happy with all the stuff they have done.
I had a string of issues this year. I've had four claims that I submitted to them within a 30-day period for a microwave, a dryer, a dishwasher, and a heating unit. Gleaning Hands Appliance Repair came out for my dryer. Now, my dryer is working after their tech put a belt on it. I have an issue with it though because the unit has a new seal kit put on as it's not completely in line. So, it makes a little racket. Still, it gets me by and I'm good. The tech called me today saying that the parts needed were in and that he got an appointment set up for Tuesday.

We’ve had American Home Shield since we moved here, which is about six years. I like that it gives someone else a responsibility other than me to find a contractor to come out here at this point. The only problem that I have with them is it always seems to take longer because they pull someone from out of San Antonio, and sometimes they only come here so many days a week. I wish that they would use more local instead of always resourcing from San Antonio. They would be faster. There are a number of different companies between the plumbing, heating and cooling, that we've had as well as the repairmen. You would think they would use more resources. But when I had a leak in a pipe and cold water for the kitchen sink, the technicians were very good. They got it done and they stuck with it, even though it was not wanting to cooperate.

I prefer to call and talk to folks, but I had a problem when I spoke with the representative the first time after the first repair request I made. DeWitt’s Appliance Repair was supposed to come for my AC, but they couldn’t get to me until Monday and that request was cancelled. I called American Home Shield afterhours, and the lady told me to contact the contractor. I explained that I am a diabetic and we could not be in heat that long. I asked if there was any way the contractor could come that Thursday. She said she could get them to me that Friday if I called back then and have them expedite the request. I called back in to have that request expedited, and I had to go to four different representatives because they refused to expedite it.
They would have to cancel the current request. I received all kind of spiels and I was really ticked off with them to the point where I was on the verge of cancelling American Home Shield. I finally got somebody on the line who called to see if they could get somebody out to me that day. They ended up contacting The Matts Company who was able to get to me that Friday. They came out three times in two weeks. The first time they came out, on the 27th, the guy repaired something in the attic. It worked for the weekend and the unit went to doing exactly what it was doing again.
The senior guy came back last Tuesday, and he did a lot of work. He stayed here for an hour and a half. He did some stuff in the attic and something to the outside unit. He told us that the unit was leaking Freon, and that we were gonna be running out soon. We paid to have him recharge the unit, and that worked for a day then I called again and he came out yesterday. He said that they've done any and everything. They've patched up everything they could patch up as much as they could. The AC has to be replaced. There was nothing else he could do to it, but he did something to it yesterday and said that hopefully, it will get us by until our claim is processed. I love Mr. ** from the last company to death. He’s a people person and he’s really nice. My husband likes him too.

American Home Shield's claims process is pretty easy. You call them and they hook you right up. My icemaker wasn't working and the ADA Repair tech told me that it was a jammed up full of ice. He got it out and it started working again. He also told me if it quit working to call him back.

We have been with American Home Shield since we bought our house in 2001. We like the ability to have the knowledge that somebody can come out and fix any problem we might have with our major appliance. We have had several things dealt with. Most recently, we had an issue with the refrigerator, and they were able to get someone to come out fairly quickly to deal with that. There was an issue, however, for a while with a particular company that apparently was low-bidding their services. They had come out to our house on a couple occasions and made the problem worse for that particular company. We kept requesting someone else other than that, and that was the company that kept popping up first. But, we were able to get that dealt with -- we have not had that issue in a while.

When we bought this house, the sellers included a one year warranty with American Home Shield and we kept it because we had used it a couple of times and we were satisfied. We’ve been with them since 2015. When the thermostat of the heater kept shutting off, I went to the website of AHS to schedule an appointment. The contractor was great. We've used them before through AHS and we even use them for our regular servicing. We had a problem a couple of years ago and that was the company that AHS recommended.

One of my lines from the pump that pumps my sewer out to the drainage field broke. My wife called in a claim to American Home Shield and their contractor, Aseptic, came out to do the repair. The tech went through and explained what he thought may have happened. This was our first time ever on a septic tank and he gave me a quick rundown of how the system works. He told me that a pipeline broke and the floater had a small hole in it. Those had to be replaced. I've also submitted claims to AHS for kitchen appliances in the past and while those claims took a little while, it was good. I'm glad AHS gets in there and my issues get resolved. It puts my mind at ease.

The air conditioner wasn’t working so I called American Home Shield. They were nice people. Now we got air. It’s hot enough. BW was good compared to the previous one because for my garage door opener I ended up having to pay out of pocket for it. When the first guy that came, he said was something was broken. The second one they sent said it was a door then it stopped working. I had to come bring another person out and get a whole new one installed. I was out of $300, plus out of pocket, another 300, to get a new one installed. I had to argue with them just to get them to send somebody out the second time.

There was a leaking garbage disposal under my kitchen sink. I went online to American Home Shield, signed into my account and put in the claim. They gave me a guarantee that I would get contacted by the assigned technician company and within 24 hours, AJ Bono Plumbing called. They came out quickly, made sure no one in our house was sick and tried to keep their distance. Since they've been out, the garbage disposal has been working fine. My mother-in-law, mother out of state and father in California have AHS. This is a highly recommended home warranty.

I’m a Realtor and I advise my clients to get a warranty ‘cause there are hidden factors of the home that even with an inspector, they may not uncover. I’ve used American Home Shield in my past. This time, I've had them from July when I bought my condo. It’s my third time to use them and it’s been very successful. I submitted a claim online and AHS made it clear when to expect the contractors. It was within 24 hours of working day. It was a Saturday and I figured out I wouldn’t hear anything till Monday. SWAT Plumbing contacted me at a reasonable time, and they did great. They came Monday. There was a leakage in my pipe in the tub and they did a perfect job.

Previously, I had a refrigerator problem. I went almost eight weeks without it working and I lost so much food. AHS ended up sending two different contractors which I thought was totally unnecessary. It was like a terrorist act against me and I really suffered through that. The rep I spoke to said that A-1 Appliance was coming but they didn't come. They then sent another company, Rapid Appliance and it took them a couple of days to get a part.
More recently, it wasn't getting cold at my place. When I first called in a claim for my AC system to American Home Shield the lady whom I spoke to acted like she didn't understand what I was saying and it was very frustrating. I kept asking her because I liked to speak with the same people 'cause I don't want different folks in my house. There was a language barrier and I had to call back twice. I called the day before their contractor came and got nowhere. The next morning, I had to call again because it was 90 degrees in my house and I have cakes here. It was too hot to have cakes and I didn't have anywhere to store them. That time, AHS was able to help me. In less than 24 hours, Comfort Heating & AC Inc. came to do service. Everything was done excellently.

We've got a Frigidaire that came with the house, and it was making this god-awful noise. I called the American Home Shield 1-800 number and told them what was going on. Later that afternoon, I got a phone call that said who was being dispatched, so it was super easy. Both Home Shield and the appliance repair place touched base and said what time they'll come. The repairman called when he was 15 minutes away too, so it was great. Initially, he came out last week to inspect the refrigerator. He then figured out what the problem was and ordered the parts.
He came in Tuesday of this week and replaced everything. He was such a nice man. He was so wonderful and very personable as well as respectful. He came in and went straight to work. I had a great experience with him and so far, everything's been good. We just moved into this house about two years ago. The first year, we were under the builder's warranty, and then we got the Home Shield for the second year. This is the second time we've had to use it and as far as value goes and responsiveness, I've been very pleased.

AHS has always taken care of me. They replaced the refrigerator and they fixed my wash and dryer, my stove and a couple of leaks. When I had a plumbing issue, the tech was very professional, very accurate and very knowledgeable. I really liked the guy. He was all about the homeowner and making sure everything was correct. The only negative thing about them was when they replaced my air conditioning unit last year, the Freon and the copper lines that go from your furnace to your air conditioning unit outside should've been covered under the policy because that's part of the unit. But they don't cover that.

My air conditioner went down and the pump was leaking. Home Shield sent a guy out there. I paid him the $75 first to check the thing out. Then they decided they wanted to replace the whole thing and everything in it. So another guy came out and told us what they will do. But I said no and all I wanted was my air conditioner fixed. It's well-run. So they went back and they said I had to pay $125 so I did. But they never did any work around here.
So I called the main company up and complained to them about them doing the job. The first guy didn't really know what he was doing. He tore my machine apart and left it. He didn't put it back together. So I put it back together myself. I called AHS again and I said, “Well, what would you do if I did it myself?” They said they'll pay me what I will pay the tech. I haven't received a check nor a call from them. I'm just waiting for it. I will quit American Home Shield and won't keep them because they lied to me about what they would do.

I emailed Home Shield and told them that I wanted the option of them purchasing the washing machine and to let me know everything once they were ready to come to the house. We had been waiting for 11 days for that and I had been calling. It didn’t get to the first department I was at. But a lady named Ms. Renée called me today and I told her we’ll just do the other option of buying and being reimbursed since the first option was taking so long. And I hate going to the laundromat. This is not the time to be in a laundromat with this COVID. She was very professional because she told me everything that would be needed in order for the reimbursement.

My claim with AHS went really smoothly. I called them when my water heater went out and was leaking. They told me who they were gonna dispatch. I called Integrity before they got the order and it went really smoothly. They were very helpful and accommodating. They were out the next morning at 8:00 AM and we had hot water by 2:00 in the afternoon. I was really impressed with them. I’ve dealt with about five other plumbers since I’ve lived in this house and I will call Integrity for personal stuff because they did so well.
Our house had some very high-end appliances with it and we chose AHS. They replace like-for-like and the deductible was manageable. The cost was a little bit higher, but I was able to get better coverage, and overall, they were the best choice on the market. I’ve had some really bad experiences with other home warranty companies to the point where I won’t even recommend them. I only recommend AHS.

It's been easy to submit claims to AHS. Their customer service team has been good and they've been proactive. I had a capacitor that was about to fail, so it’s causing the air conditioning system to work extra hard. It resulted in the premature failure of the capacitor, so they changed out the capacitor. The technician was outstanding. He was super knowledgeable. He wasn’t just trying to sell me additional services, but he talked to me at length about stuff beyond the scope of the work to improve my air conditioning unit. Hers and His Plumbing came to replace the cartridge in my shower faucet. That was the first time I used Home Shield and I was a little discouraged at first because the plumbing company that they referred scheduled several days out when I had a leaky shower and I was wasting water, and then they cancelled. I understand things happen in life, but they cancelled and had to wait an additional four more days. And then this caused me concerns.
I typically do my research and I actually work for a School District Maintenance Department so I’m very familiar with working with technicians. I did an online search and found out the company has some really bad reviews, so I was really worried. But the technician that came out was very professional and I was perfectly happy with his service.

When I submit claims, I do it online and it's easy enough. When my microwave had no power and stopped working, I submitted a claim which was done in less than a couple minutes so it was perfect. It took three days for the contractors to come but part of it was because of the whole Coronavirus scare. They were told that they had to wait and they were considered essential, but then they were out the same time that they should have been. The tech took the microwave back to his shop and fixed it. When he brought it back, a fuse wiggled loose so he fixed that on the spot.

I've been with AHS since 2009 and I like that if I have a problem, I can call them and not worry about finding my own contractor, and knowing who’s good and who’s not. They're good. However, there’s something that’s changed with the way that they bill credit cards that I’m running into some trouble ‘cause I pay with prepaid cards. And the last two times I’ve had contractors out when I tried to pay it, it doesn't go through. So, something’s changed because I can use those cards in other places. But I’ve never had trouble with the contractors that have been sent. Recently, I had a plumbing claim. I made the phone call around 11:30. By 12:30, the contractors were here.

A couple of months ago, a guy from Big Orange Plumbing came and fixed our garbage disposal. But it was not properly adjusted then it started swiveling around and was leaking. I submitted a claim with AHS and they sent out another tech from Big Orange Plumbing. He was a very good technician and a very nice guy. But I hope that it doesn’t start leaking again because if they did a good job the first time, I didn’t have to call AHS again.

My washing machine would not run if I run short loads in it. It makes all kinds of noises. It wasn't working right and that was why I turned a claim in to American Home Shield. Coastline Appliance Service was very good. I've dealt with their guy before and he's very good, very altruistic, goes through everything on the machine, and checks all the codes out. He does a very good job. He's one of the best guys I’ve dealt with over the years. He knows his washing machines and appliances and he goes right through them. In fact, he came out and fixed my ice maker. It never worked for about two years and he came out and fixed it right away.
The machine is still not working on short loads. He couldn't get the tub off out of the machine. He couldn't undo it because it wouldn't come off at all. He kinda figured that when he started working on it. After he got the part in and came out to the house and touring to the washing machine, he knew he couldn't get it off. It just collapses. It won't go through the cycles and so, we've been working at the Washateria for about two weeks and we're waiting on the washing machine to come in.
My family friend referred me to American Home Shield and I've been satisfied with them ever since. I have to pay $106. They don't rush me about it. They get it whenever they get it. And as far as the quality of service, everybody they've sent out has been very good. The only thing I'm worried about this time is it's taken me so long to get my washing machine in. It was supposed to come in on the 6th, and now, they kicked it back to the 13th. But overall, American Home Shield has never denied me service. I file my claim, the contractors come right out and do it.

Our interactions with American Home Shield have always good. They sent out Wester Electrical for an electrical issue we had. My spouse scheduled it and dealt with them. They repaired the item that was faulty and we've had no issues. My daughter, whose room the concern is in that it works fine. But I have a concern with American Home Shield regarding when one item has multiple things wrong with it, for example a garbage disposal is leaking with the sink. Being that it's all part of the sink, I'm wondering why it can't be lumped into one service call because it's the same type of service via plumber. There are other issues too like electrical when it's a physical thing. When they are the exact same item types or service type like a plumber or electrician, why can't the things that are similar or in the same system be counted as one item instead of two?
In our case, we had to do the sink separately from the garbage disposal. I'm sure it's to maximize the amount of the deductibles so it doesn't get too expensive for the company but when they are really the exact same system, then it should be one service call because it's gonna be the same type of person coming out. It's a time management thing instead of having two different work orders for the same system.

When we had two broken compressors, I did the calling and setting up the appointment and my husband did the rest. He told me that the guy was professional, kept his distance for the COVID-19 and did what he had to do. Having a home warranty is very important and I have it now on my rental property. And when I bought a new home, I put a new contract with them. Sometimes, I have to be on the call for 40 minutes to get through and it’s really a hassle. I’m not an internet person because I spend most of my day at work on the internet and I don’t wanna do it when I come home at night because of the pain on my butt. But now, AHS put in an automated system, which works a little bit better.

Submitting my claim with AHS was easy. I put the claim in on Thursday night, and the guy was here on Monday. He came to check out our water heater for the pool that didn’t work. He was not very interested in telling me what was going on. He was more interested in sending his report. But with the whole COVID thing right now, you have to keep distances so the interaction was even more limited than it would have been normally. He sent the report to AHS. AHS then told me that they would not cover it and the contractor never followed up.
We do apologize for the the inconvenience pertaining to the pool heater. It is not our intent to cause such a hassle. We would be more than happy to speak with you pertaining to this. My name is Robert and I will be assisting you further.

There was water underneath the air conditioning unit. It wasn't cutting off. I called American Home Shield and they sent Advantage Refrigeration & Air. The tech came the next day and did a great job. So far, so good. We had AHS before we moved to this home, but we didn't have to use it. This is the second home we've had it with.

AHS's contractors have been good, but there are not many contractors that work with AHS to choose from. And I eliminated one or two that I didn't like from my dashboard. However, the contractors usually call me within 24 hours. Although it depends on the schedule, they usually come within the next day as long as they’re not swamped. When United Air Temp came out for an air conditioner, they replaced a relay switch twice.

We've had AHS for a couple of years and I called them out one time when I needed my furnace to be cleaned. But they said they didn't do maintenance. They only did repairs. I also called in a service request for a refrigerator that wasn't freezing. MS Appliance Service came out and they were good. The unit was at my brother-in-law's house. My brother-in-law said that the tech looked at the refrigerator, put a part in it, and it worked. This was done on the same day. Everything went well.

My daughter uses American Home Shield. When I moved back into my house, I went with them. I’ve only had two claims and they were both seamless. We reported the claim, and this last one, they called me within 30 minutes. The first one was not so fast, but this one was incredible. The repair guy was here the next day.

My Realtor recommended American Home Shield, and my experience has been great. Luckily, I haven’t had to use it often but with the two times that I did, they were quick to send someone out and the issue was resolved. They did what they needed to do. I’m renting my house out. The tenant that’s renting the house filed a claim and he let me know that Lexus Plumbing came out and they fixed the issue.

There was a plumbing leak under my kitchen sink. I filed a claim with AHS and the process was easy. Then the contractor came out quickly and they resolved the issue. I would recommend American Home Shield.

American Home Shield is great. One of my coworkers who is an older guy had them for many years. When I bought my house, he told me to get them. It was a good recommendation because I haven’t had any problems. I’d recommend it to other people too. Submitting a claim is easy. They sent out Stateline Construction for a claim I had and it took them three days to come out. I had to get some plumbing fixed so they had to repair a hole in the ceiling. They were good.

I had a leak in my kitchen faucet one weekend and I submitted a claim to American Home Shield online. Their contractor, All-City Plumbing came the next business day and the tech was very mannerly. AHS wound up replacing the whole thing and things have been fine since. I've been recommending this warranty to my other friends.

A breaker wasn’t working. That particular breaker had my washer on it, our den, laundry room, and sunroom so we couldn't use a good portion of the house. I had to call in to file the claim because after I did all of the fill out online and paid my payment, when I pushed submit, it said, “Technical difficulties. Try again.” Every time I clicked submit, the same thing came up. It never let me get past to the very end, confirmed thing. I submitted it Monday night then I got the confirmation in the morning that said we had a contractor assigned and that I could call them. I contacted Circle S Electric Tuesday afternoon and they had somebody out on Wednesday morning to fix it.
They were super easy to deal with and the guy who came was really nice. It’s me and my three children at home and there’s nowhere else we’re allowed to go. I couldn’t even say that I’ll take the kids to the park because the parks are all closed so he made sure that he kept six feet from us at all times. That was really courteous. He also answered all our questions and fixed it just the first time. Overall, American Home Shield is great and it’s always been easy, that’s why we signed back up after our first year ‘cause I don’t wanna ever have to figure any of that out myself.

BW Air & Heat has been the best AC company AHS sent. The tech replaced something in the AC then he followed up and saw one other thing and fixed it. The tech was respectful, very nice and informative and showed me what was wrong, what was missing. He did a good job.

I have had American Home Shield for three years and some of the advertisements on TV indicate that you can get something fixed on a weekend and the people who are contracted here in the Phoenix area don’t work on weekends. I’m sure in some places that might be workable, but we’ve never been able to have anything done on a weekend. Of course, nothing by Friday afternoon and everybody knows that. My recommendation would be for American Home Shield to take that out of their ads. On a different note, I had a leaky garbage disposal and a gentleman came in early, fixed it and hooked it. Now, it's working fine.

I had Austin Heating and Air come out and they explained me what was the problem in a few words. It was pretty good and quick. So far, AHS is good. But the cost for the visit could be less.

American Home Shield has an excellent company that's doing the work. We've had to make two calls and the vendors were all very professional. They did what they had to do and they got the problem resolved. Everything is good at this point. If American Home Shield stays the course, they're gonna go a long way. May Heating & Air was one of the vendors and the technician's demeanor and professionalism made the experience excellent. He knew exactly what he was doing when he asked me what the problem was and I told him, he went right to it and he fixed the problem immediately.

The garbage disposal was leaking and I made a claim online to American Home Shield. The website worked great and I was told that I should expect a call from the contractor. Then, it gave me a timeframe. The repairman who came and did our stuff was fine. It was fast, quick and the problem was fixed right away. The only thing I have an issue with is that I have an account set up through my email, but I continue to still get emails saying that I should come back to American Home Shield. I’m already signed up and I’ve already been back with them for a long time.
