I had two repairs within the month with different things, and Nate came out both times. He was really good, quick, professional and timely getting there. I didn’t have to wait. Submitting claims is pretty easy. I usually just call in and have it scheduled. So far I’ve only had two separate contractors with AHS and both were great.

I wasn’t getting a lot of hot water. It was barely tepid. I have a hot water heater from the outside and it was locked. When the guy from Water & Drain Works came, I unlocked and opened it, and we realized it was set on vacation mode. I’ve never even opened that the whole time I live here. I didn’t know that was a possibility. The guy took a picture of it and showed that it was set to vacation mode and changed it to hot. After he left, it worked. When I bought the house, we never got it changed over to be turned on. He said that it would heat the water a little bit on vacation mode, so that was why I got some hot water, but it ran out really quickly and it never got really hot.
When I submitted the claim, the process was easy. I just went on to American Home Shield and put in my request for a service, and the contractor came the next day. He said he’d be here between noon and 1:00. He pulled up at exactly noon and was gone by 12:05. He was fast and efficient. He was polite and very professional. He didn’t tell me I was dumb. I felt like I was dumb but now that I know where to look, I would be better. Overall, I've enjoyed having American Home Shield. They get right back to you. I have not had to wait days, and I haven’t had to pay extra.

I feel pretty good about AHS. I filed a claim for our AC and they sent United Air. They came after a day of submitting the claim and replaced the compressor on the unit.
We are happy that we were able to get the issue resolved for you. Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us regarding your AC request. Your malfunction will always be our priority. We look forward to our continued business together. Take Care.

My mother suggested that I get American Home Shield. The AC was blowing nothing out. I called and spoke to a live person. It went okay, but it’s disturbing because this was the second time I had to call them about my AC unit. I called last year and I thought they should’ve had a copy of my first call. The first time, antifreeze was put in the AC. I had to pay an additional 175 plus 100. This time, K&J Mechanical came out and their tech was very professional. But I had to pay 270 plus 100. I’m not saving anything, so I’m not understanding why I should still keep American Home Shield. It doesn’t benefit me. I’m not satisfied with American Home Shield. I’m looking to go somewhere else.
Floranna,

South Placer Heating and Air came to repair the swamp cooler that they had already been out here two times before to do. The second time they came out, the swamp cooler flooded because the guy who came the first time adjusted something and that wasn’t the problem. The second guy came out and the roof was too weak. He was afraid to go up there, so he left. We had to put a new roof on the house then I called them, and they came out and fixed it. All in all, I love American Home Shield. They are so good. I even got my daughter to use them when she bought a house. They’re even good for if you rent, but all of your appliances are your own. They come out and fix everything. They’re really awesome. I go out on Yelp and I give a shout out to all the people that come out here to work too.

My recent claim with AHS went well and excellent. My air conditioner wasn't keeping up with the heat. When the technician arrived, it was very professional. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it. It's working really good now. Last year, I had the AC guy come out and look at it. He couldn't really find anything wrong with it, so this year, they did. Everything is really good with my experience with AHS.

I had an issue with my air conditioner. A contractor came out and I told them that it was a high-velocity air conditioning unit. Once the tech found that out, he said he couldn't work on that. It is a high-velocity system which is a little bit different from a typical split air system. He would have to call somebody else from their company and that I was supposed to get another call. This happened to have been a holiday weekend and I got the call on Tuesday. But I didn't realize that the first tech was going to have to get a different company completely.
The company was Advanced Air and their tech came out. It was no fuss, no muss, and he did the job. He was probably just a little bit smarter because he told me that if it was something that he had to go up into the attic area for and work on the unit itself, he probably would not be able to do it. But he checked to see what the problem was. It was something that he could do from outside. He found that problem, took care of it, and was done. That was kind of smart on his part to at least spend the five minutes to see if the problem was something that he could do from outside. He was very good. Everything's working. So far so good.
If you are expecting some kind of a big problem or a big bill that could happen, American Home Shield kind of gives you a little bit of feeling that you can turn to somebody and some things are covered. There is also the convenience of it. I have a claim, they send out somebody and I don’t have to chase somebody around myself.
But on the other hand like on the air conditioning part, I'm not completely happy with what I'm paying because this is the first time I've had a claim with American Home Shield. I didn't realize and I maybe didn't look at all the fine print because there's quite a bit, but they're only covering $10 per pound of the coolant. That might not sound all that bad until you realize that the actual coolant is $50 a pound. If it ranged from $11 to $20, that wouldn't be so bad. But when you find out that the cost is $50 and they're covering $10, it's not so good. It's only 20% of the cost.
I paid $100 for a visit that basically annuls the cost that I would pay them for the visit, which he told me it would probably be about $120. I only saved $10 from that. Essentially, it saved me a little bit of money, but not a whole hell of a lot. I'm still assessing that at the moment whether I want to just self-underwrite everything and not worry about it.

I went online to do both claims to American Home Shield for my two AC units. I can do the website no matter what time of day or night and I don’t have to wait until it’s business hours, so I like that. As soon as you put in the claim, you get an email from them saying that they’ve assigned it. It was to Sevier Climate Control and they told me to expect the call from them within a certain amount of time.
I put in the last claim on Saturday night and I didn't get a call until Monday. The technicians were extremely professional and timely. When they called, they said they would be here at whatever day between such and such. And they came at that time. They called before they came and said they were on the way. They also texted before they came. They both came out on the same day. Both AC units were not cooling and when the diagnosis was made, one of them needed a compressor and the other one needed something else. The technicians handled the business and fixed the problem.

AHS is good. But now, with all this going on, everyone's a little understaffed. It's just a long wait time right now and that's a little frustrating. The contractors came out to replace a faucet but it's still not done.

Submitting claims on the phone is an easy way to do it. That way, you can wait, if you need to, and talk to somebody in person rather than dealing with it on the internet. The last contractor who came was helpful. He inspected it and confirmed that it was working. He even took time to ask me if there were any other concerns that I might have in the house and inspected even my wiring and plumbing downstairs.

I've been with Home Shield on and off. I was with them for about 10 years and then they left me. Then they called me back after about three years. I came back with them and I had been happy. They're an all right company. I was trying to put two orders in so I could save on deductible. But the guy said the refrigerator is a separate claim from the air conditioner in the house. I had to wait for him to get the order in and he said he had to go. I got upset about that. AHS outsources and it's hard to talk to a foreigner. And because of what's going on, everybody is working from home. But I know they're trying to do their best.
I had to calm down and let him tell me exactly what was going on. He explained me the policy. I asked why I had to spend $200. I said I can spend $100. He told me it's because they're different technicians. I told him that both Air Doctor and Honest Appliance are for air conditioners. But he said the one coming out for the air conditioner is for air duct and the one coming out for the refrigerator is for the appliance and he doesn't do aircon. I said okay and we got it done. They sent out Air Doctor and the tech was excellent. I'm waiting on the part for that though. Honest Appliance also came out for the refrigerator and they did an excellent job.

When putting in a request with AHS, it can be very difficult to get in at times. But since they added the automation, I can state my claim to the computer and they'll set up a date. They can upgrade the quality of the contractors though especially in reference to appearances. A contractor came out to service and clean our AC and he was scrawny looking. Then when I had them for the plumbing, the contractor sucked. I got one of those new-type faucets and the plumber couldn't put it back together. Their plumbing leaves a lot to be desired. My son-in-law came over and he tinkered it and got it working right. They need to get better vendors and they need to work on their appearances. I was scared to leave them alone.
We do apologize that you have experienced such a hassle with your service requests. It is not our intent to cause such an inconvenience. We are working diligently to improve the overall customer experience and we look forward to our continued business together. Have a great day.

AHS is good and I’ve always been happy with them. They get people out right away. Recently, my AC wasn’t cooling and was dripping from the roof. The first guy came out, fixed the problem with the cooling, but he could not fix the drip. Another guy came out and said it was too big of a job so Right Tech came out. The first time, they flushed it out but it didn't work. They came out again and replaced some parts up there and fixed it. Then it started that the AC wasn’t cooling again. This last company just came out and the tech had to replace something inside the AC. It’s working great now, and they all did a phenomenal job.

I called this in to American Home Shield and someone from Master Pro came out. He was professional and very quick. But the first time he came out, he needed a piece of equipment. Proven Professional Construction Service came out a few times. They were nice people. I first called in the claim for my kitchen faucet and my toilet, and the gentleman told me, “If there's anything else you need to add, call us back before they come out.” I called back because my younger son said the toilet in the front foyer was difficult to flush. I called back and I added that, and then shortly thereafter, I added a claim for exterior hose bibb because it was just spitting water everywhere.
Proven Professional came out and did the diagnosis of the one in the kitchen. They diagnosed the toilet and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. So, then they came back out later. I ordered a faucet through Moen because it was under warranty, and they sent me a new faucet. They came out, installed the new faucet, and I got them to look at the toilet again, and they shorten the chain on the toilet. But they wouldn’t look at the hose bibb. They said it wasn’t on my order and the other toilet wasn’t on my order, but it was supposed to be.
I ended up calling back, got ahold to a supervisor that re-setup the claim again, and that way, added the hose bibb and the other toilet on the order. They came back out and repaired the hose bibb. I haven’t checked it because it's been raining so much and it finally stopped and I've been so busy, but they repaired the outside hose bibb.
They did do a little more work on my faucet because when they installed the inside faucet it was dripping. I had contacted Moen because that’s who provided me with the faucet, and they had sent me another brand-new one. Proven Professional came back out. because I had called them immediately after they left and said it was leaking, they came back out and they fixed it, added the little pieces that Moen had sent. They fixed everything they were supposed to.
I’m not as excited as I would have loved to be because of the faucet. They told me this is normal, but I don’t understand how it can be. When you pull down on the faucet, the sprayer itself doesn’t go back up into the faucet like it should.. The people from Moen said it’s where the weight is placed. I’ve learned to cope with it because I just don’t mess with it anymore.
My concern was more with the people that I dealt in AHS because I had called on specific times the gentleman seemed to have forgotten what they needed to fix. I'm trying to get that bill corrected because you can see on the paperwork that he had put it in for it to be part of the original one. For some reason, they tried to charge me.
I got an email that said I needed to pay another $80.06 for a trip fee. I’ve already paid what they told me I was supposed to pay. I have an electrician coming out today. I’m beginning to wonder if a lot of this could be happening because of all this raining we’ve had. There should be better communication. I had to call multiple times to get things done on my hose bib. If I was going to refer AHS, I would say they don’t communicate as quickly as I would like. I think, it is a failure especially when you have a plumbing or electrical problem.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. I apologize for the inconvenience we've caused you. If your issue is unresolved, please contact us for assistance. We look forward to handling your future AHS needs. Have an amazing week.

I submitted a claim online to AHS for an AC that was not cooling. Their website is very user-friendly. They gave me a time frame as to when to expect the contractor. They said the contractor would call me in about 24 hours so they could commit, which they did. Then they scheduled me for like three days out. When they showed up, they were friendly and introduced themselves. So, it was great. They came to do a diagnosis. The next thing would be for them to come out to make the actual repair. I got a call from AHS, but I missed it. So, I’d have to call them back to okay a time for the contractors to come back and make the repair. AHS is something great to have in case you have constantly unexpected repairs. I had them for four years at first. But I didn't have them for about a year and just got it back. I was used to having stuff protected and after looking at other ones once I left them the first time, AHS was the better one compared to all the rest.

Westside was very kind to work me in on a Friday when they were very busy because otherwise, I would have gone without air conditioning all weekend. I needed Freon, so the technician added Freon, and everything was going great. I got up Saturday morning and thought I’d check the unit. I went outside, and the entire Freon line was iced over. So, I turned off the unit and let that defrost, and it took several hours, and then I was able to turn the air conditioner back on again. That was what I did all weekend long.
We had already made an appointment on Friday for them to come back on Tuesday because Monday was Memorial Day and a holiday. But unfortunately, on Tuesday, my phone had frozen, so I had turned it off. They called to say they were coming, and the technician came and knocked on my door, but because I’m in a different room with doors closed, I didn’t hear. I missed them but that was okay because I did call them back on Tuesday when I realized my cellphone was off, and they came out Wednesday after that.
What that technician discovered was that when they add Freon, it’s like adding air to a tire. There’s like a valve thing that’s got a pin in the middle of it, and it had gotten stuck. So, it was leaking Freon. He fixed that and added more Freon, topped it off, and everything has been fine since then. It was a bit of an adventure and a challenge, but I’m so grateful to them that on Friday, they did come out before a holiday weekend and worked me in. I’m 63 and diabetic with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and I was just concerned about my health living three days without air conditioning. But it worked out really well.
I had American Home Shield for years and then I dropped them. I just reinstated them about a year ago. I live in an older house and as a single woman, I can’t repair things myself. So, I realized I really needed to get American Home Shield again. I would recommend them to people but I would make the time to investigate other home warranty companies and see if they offer a better deal than American Home Shield. I’ve seen television advertisements about other companies, and they mentioned repairing computers. American Home Shield doesn’t cover that.

The thermostat and my pump were going bad. So, the technician from May Heating & Air replaced the pump, the thermostat, and he recharged my unit. The experience was pretty good. This was my first time submitting a claim with American Home Shield and I had to call in 'cause I wasn't able to do it online. It wasn't the easiest process. I had to wait quite a while. I was also under the impression that if I'd make a claim, I could make it do multiple things. My incinerator was also bad, so I was trying to get my incinerator. But, I was told that they wouldn't take care of the incinerator. I had a fan that was bad and I gotta pay an additional $100 just to replace those fans. I don't understand how it would be $100 to get somebody to come out and fix a motor that would probably cost $20.
I expected a little bit more. AHS told tell me that they'd fix all appliances but they didn't tell me that it'd cost me $100 for each one. When I signed up for this service, the person that recommended it said that when she made a claim, they came and fixed multiple things. So, I was wondering why I wasn't given the same treatment that she advertised to me. But they were able to fix something that probably would've cost a lot of money.

My best friend and her stepmother are both real estate agents. They both highly recommended AHS. Since my best friend’s mother-in-law is highly seasoned and sells multi-million and billion-dollar properties on the west side of the Florida coast, the fact that she recommended AHS is the most driving point. Plus, there are so many items that are being covered that I felt like it was wise. Even though it’s kinda pricey, it’s a good insurance. As soon as I renewed it, the AC thing came up.
I hired an AC company, which was very well-established in our area. They do the bi-annual maintenance on our AC and I trust them. They did a very lengthy diagnostic on one of our AC systems. It took them about four hours to figure out that the issue was something in the handler. They said it would cost about $2,200 to fix. I told them I was not gonna pay for that when I have a home warranty.
Eric came out the following day and had the benefit of having a diagnostic just laid out before him. He zoomed in on that straight away. It was confirmed because he also got the codes. There was an error code reading on our thermostat and he looked that up. I could tell that he was very seasoned and it was something very quick for him to say, “Yup, this is it. I need to order the parts and as soon as I get it, I will call you to set up an appointment.” The part didn’t come in until late Friday and by then, it was too late. Eric couldn't come until Monday. Thankfully we have our other AC unit which was able to cool off our side of the house evenly. Overall, he was good, helpful, professional, and friendly, but no-nonsense. He answered a couple of my questions and wasn’t curt or abrasive. I’ve had AHS since we bought the house on April 29th of last year and decided to renew. I've had good service so far.

I went online, put in a request and someone responded in four hours. So I had an appointment putting it the same day. The contractors came out the next day. And then they came back the next day and completed the job. The air conditioner wasn’t cooling. And we had the same issue the prior year with the same unit, and so we had somebody come out last year. And he ran a dye test and put some stop-leak stuff in it, which I didn't agree with because I think if there's a leak, you need to fix it. But he did what he did and he said that’s what my coverage got me. It stayed cool until it got hot again.
As soon as we had an 85-degree day, the temperature started going up, and so I called again. The tech came out. He saw the notes that the guy left on the AC unit and then said that it was the connections to the capacitor. I replaced my own capacitors before in my house in Atlanta and I know how to do it. Typically, when the capacitor goes out, the unit stops running but my unit was running. The tech reconnected the wire then. He said, “Your refrigerant was just a little bit low, not much, but nothing to worry about.” And he said that fixed the problem. He was a super nice guy, seemed to know what he was talking about, but I don’t really know if we fixed the problem. The AC is functioning fine.
When we bought the house, the warranty came with it. We had an issue right away and we couldn't get anybody to respond for our heater in the wintertime. We just got passed around. I was on hold for two and a half hours and I was super frustrated. I ended up talking to a supervisor with American Home Shield who promised the world but never called me back. And the number that he gave me to reach him on was disconnected.
It was a weird experience, so I called my Realtor and I told her what was going on, that the warranty isn't really gonna do anything. A week went by, and then somebody from Home Shield called me. And I told him the story, and there were a lot of issues. Finally, somebody came out, and then he said he fixed it, but he didn't. And then he came back out another day and then said he found the problem and fixed the heat. After that, every time I went to file a claim and needed something, the folks that have come out have been great and the service has been great.

I had American Home Shield years ago when I owned my other house. I came back on board with them about 2 years ago. Everyone has been very nice and accommodating. The only difficulty that I had was getting through because of being on hold for 2 hours at one point. That happened more than once before the ordeal was done but I survived it. That’s the way it is no matter where you call these days, so I’m not complaining against American Home Shield specifically. I do recognize that all of this being on hold was unexpectedly, unnecessarily long, and it’s all due to everybody being trapped. Everybody’s using the phones for everything these days.
My dryer wouldn’t dry, and my washer wouldn’t empty. American Home Shield sent out Always There Appliance and the tech was very knowledgeable and polite. He arrived right on time and explained everything to me. He was able to fix the dryer but he was unable to fix the washer. He made me a nice list of everything that needed to be done and said that it would be turned back over to American Home Shield, and they would determine whether or not they were going to pay for the parts or replace the equipment. It was left there for a couple of days and I didn’t hear back. I kept trying to call and could not get through on the phone. Ultimately, I contacted the Always There people and asked if the tech had turned in the paperwork. They assured me that he had.
Every time I tried to call American Home Shield, it would refer me back to the online issue. I went online and there was absolutely nothing pending for me. I was really shook up, and I tried to make it happen. In the process, I inadvertently started a new claim. Instantly, I was terrified because it automatically wanted another $125 from me, which it never did actually take.
Finally, I was able to get through and spoke to a really nice lady. She was so helpful and explained virtually everything to me, and indicated that I did, in fact, need to replace the washer. American Home Shield would reimburse me X number of dollars. I went to Lowe’s, which was the closest place to me that carried what I wanted. I have ordered both a new washer and a new dryer. I am now waiting for reimbursement for that and delivery of my new washer and dryer, which won’t happen till next week. I hope everything hurries up and goes along smoothly.

I just went online and their website was user-friendly. Somebody called me that day and set the appointment for Air Pro Master to come out for the next morning.
Everything was in my garage so the contractors didn’t have to come in. They just opened the garage door, checked the water heater and it took them about two minutes to figure out it wasn’t firing. They knew exactly what it needed. And then the pressure regulator was in the garage too, so they checked that as well. I had to call them separately because it was two different items. But we kinda found out about the second item from the first item too. They were very friendly, and everything’s working fine now. It was nice to have hot water again. I like AHS, and I’d recommend them. I had Old Republic and one of those other companies but AHS is better. I had some problems with the other company. When they did repairs they generally give me lower quality replacement items instead of the same quality.

Our air conditioner always worked beautifully, and all of a sudden, it stopped working, right when we really needed it. We were without any AC for two days. What I also noticed about the air conditioner is even though it worked, it made a lot of noise outside. I called AHS on the phone for the claim and spoke to a live person. They gave me the contractor's name and said that they should be contacting me.
All Air Services called and said that they would be able to come on Thursday. They told me they would come between 10 and 1 o'clock, but if they were able to, they would come on Wednesday. That was my scheduled time but because they were very busy, they came out Thursday. My husband worked with them. He said the breaker needed to be reset. Our AC system came right back on and it's been working fine. Overall, I haven't had any problem with American Home Shield. Something's broken and they will send somebody out, and the provider would come and do whatever they have to do.

My filter was leaking. I had a valve that was broken as well as a valve that was broken on the filter. ABNation came out and took care of it. I’ve had American Home Shield for 14 years and they’re easy to deal with. But they won’t replace things until they’re broken and dead, which is almost too late at that point. Instead of having an emergency, they did more preventative stuff.

Express Heating & Air Conditioning Service came out the very first time to determine if I had a problem with my AC unit. Something came and my box burned out. They told me that I needed a replacement of some type of a box. So, after they came and determined that, they told me they were gonna order the part and they'd be back with it.
I submitted the claim online and the AHS website was pretty good. But I don’t normally go through the internet. I wanna verbally speak to somebody just so I know who’s coming out. But I couldn’t get through calling. It just was ringing. It was the weekend and I gotta do something because it was hot. Then when I submitted the claim, all it did was told me that somebody would be contacting me and it showed me the name of who would contact me but it worked.
The actual contractors were excellent. From the time of telling me what was wrong, I got a call back from the company telling me my part was in and someone would be coming out. They also did everything they needed to do. When they ordered the part, it took three days or so. It was hot but they worked something for me to bypass while I was in that time frame where I could be a little cooler. He also explained that the electric bill might be up a little bit more, but it would ease me for the time period until the part would come in. I was very satisfied. When the guy came back with the part, they put the part in and they answered all of my questions. It went excellent and I would recommend them to anybody. I’m enjoying my air now.

My freezer stopped working all of a sudden. I don’t know what happened. Richard's Appliance Repair came out and tried to repair it and the tech put in a new control panel. But that wasn’t the issue. So, I have to call Home Shield again and open up another request to have the contractor come back out again. This is my second time to use them. The first time, it wasn’t good at all.
Some of Home Shield's reps don’t listen. I had an issue where when you turned on my hot water, you would smell gas, but it was only the water upstairs. However, Home Shield's rep sent out a chimney person which was the wrong person. I needed an HVAC person. When I called back to let them know I still had the same problem, they tried to make me pay another $75. Why should I have to pay another $75 when their rep sent out the wrong person? So, right now, I’m torn between staying with them or going with BGE Home.

Everything went fine with an online claim I made with American Home Shield. The tech who came touched the dishwasher and it came on. I don't know if it was just malfunctioning. But with my refrigerator, some kind of a line was frozen up and he did whatever he needed to do and he got it to work. It was like the drain pipe was frozen up and he took care of it. Everything's been working fine. The tech was very nice, fast, and good. I would recommend him to anybody.
The only thing is right now, I've tried to call and couldn't get an answer. I was held for about 25 minutes. My deep freezer went out. I couldn't find where it was on my appliance plan and I looked back through my warranty and everything and it says that the freezer was not covered. I needed to ask a question about it. Refrigerators are covered but the paperwork says, "Not covered, free-standing freezer, multimedia centers, and wine chillers." That may be some things that American Home Shield just doesn't cover. Otherwise, I have no qualms with American Home Shield.

After I signed up with American Home Shield, they told me that I had to wait 30 days before I can file a claim. Then when I first dealt with them, I had an electrical issue. But I don't know who those people were that they sent to my house. They came out, opened my breaker box, left my breaker box open and left wires out then they didn't come back to my house until like two weeks later. They were supposed to come out but then they said the guy had a car issue. I asked if there was anyone else that they could send out and they said no. But the lights on one side of my house were still out. So I called American Shield. I told them it was unacceptable and I asked if there was someone else they could send out. But the lady I was speaking with looked like she didn't have any concern. It was the same with with the electric company. They weren’t trying to do anything.
Basically, I had to sit and wait for two weeks without the lights. By the time they came out, my husband had already replaced whatever the thing was in the breaker box. Then the contractor came out and said, “Oh, well, it’s fixed.” That right there pissed me off on both parties. Without my electricity, I can’t see and function correctly in the home. But other than that, like with Coastal Appliances, I haven't had any problems. They acted promptly. When I reached out to American Home Shield, Costal came out and assessed my refrigerator. They told me everything that needed to be done. They said they were gonna order the parts and they’ll get back with me once the parts come back in, which they did.
They came back out a week or so later, installed the part and told me that if the refrigerator was still not working properly, to give them a call. The tech said that the refrigerator had to go through so many cycles. So I waited for a couple of days because the light never came on. I also have two ice makers and only one of the ice makers, the one that's on the bottom freezer, was operating. My water dispenser and the top icemaker weren't working. The light in the refrigerator never did come on either.
So I called Coastal back. That's what they instructed me to do but once I called them back, they told me to call American Home Shield to put in the order with American Home Shield. I did that and I followed the prompts on American Home Shield, and everything worked out smoothly. Coastal came back out yesterday to see what the problem is. My brother was there so they told my brother that they needed to order some more parts. I guess that the part that they ordered that was supposed to fix the issue didn’t fix the issue.

In fact, I even shut the water off and turned it back on. They said, "Good. No leaks." They were very professional. They wore and told me exactly what they were doing and what they had to do. When they saw the part, they had to go get it. They told me instead of just leaving. It all worked out and it didn't take very long either. The repair is running good. I just put in another claim for a different leak, our washer and dryer on the second level. I wish I would have known at the same time, but AHS is having Leo's Sewer come out on Sunday.

I had no trouble getting through to a live person and she was able to clarify the plan to me better. I'm on a fixed income now and having this coverage helps me sleep better at night.

I switched to another company from AHS 'cause of the price. I'm having trouble canceling the coverage right now because every time I call, the system says the reps are busy because of the coronavirus. One problem I had with them was when our heater went out during the winter. That was an emergency situation and it took a couple of days to get anybody out. Still, I have had nothing wrong with AHS. Most recently Medallion Plumbing came as AHS's contractor for our problem with our toilet. We had an excellent experience with them. The techs fixed our problem in short order and did a very good job.

Don't waste your time on American Home Shield. The concept is good, but it leaves a lot to be desired. Long phone wait times. The only thing that can be done online is to order service, everything else requires a call to customer service. In the past 3 weeks I have called them 9 times, but was only able to speak to a representative 3 of those time (the other calls were disconnected by them on what sounded like a line transfer). My wait times, with the same loop of annoying muzak, were a minimum of 41 min and up to 62 minutes. The customer service reps were busy reading their preprinted response cards and did not seem to understand the issue. (The issue was that they were unable to locate a service provider in 3 weeks time and would reimburse my fee and then reassign my case so that it would "meet their guarantee of 48hrs for assignment".)
After 3 weeks without a refrigerator and being told they "understand the importance of having a refrigerator, please let me expedite this for you" and still not having any service. At this point I decided to cancel AHS and just do my own. It took 2 days and multiple phone calls to cancel. I told them the reason why, they read another printed script about the value of having AHS, I restated that I wanted to cancel my entire contract, they continued to read the script, and it continued this was for 20 minutes. When I was finally told that they would cancel it & refund my money, it was not the correct prorate and didn't include the monies I already paid for a non-existent service call. That was fixed, but only because I inquired.
Ultimately, I called a few local appliance repair shops & was told that they will not work with AHS because they have been difficult to work with & have too much criteria to meet/paperwork to do/hoops to jump through for payment and it's wasted, non-productive time that they could spend actually working. Not having a fridge & trying to feed a large family for 3 weeks has been difficult, but it's a walk in the park compared to dealing with AHS. It is definitely not worth the headache. Don't waste your money or your time.

Submitting the claim was very simple. However, the date that I was given was not the date that the contractor had come out. So once that time frame passed, I called Bennett's and they gave me a different date. They didn’t have plans on even coming out the date that I was originally given. I came home that Saturday and felt the heat. There was no air. I called Sunday morning about in between cooking breakfast. I was given a date on Monday. Bennett's didn’t come out Monday. They came out there Tuesday.
The contractor was only one person and he was very professional. Everything has been performing just fine. I am a Realtor so I have been recommending Home Shield to some of my buyers. However, do your own research about it because I don’t want to recommend it to anybody else. I really pushed to have American Home Shield when I bought my home and when I got that first year, I liked the way they dealt with me. It was easy to call and talk to someone about my issue. But I had to wait longer since this COVID thing and the wait was unreal. One day, I waited almost two hours just to get ahold of somebody on the phone. But they were obviously busy so I was trying to be patient because I have dealings with a lot of companies I have to wait a long time with. Other than that, the people that they've sent out had been knowledgeable. It's just unfortunate that appliances break.
Recently, I had an issue with the refrigerator which had been a consistent one and we couldn't seem to get it fixed. Then, the round thing that's on the front of the washing machine needed to be dealt with. I submitted my claims with AHS then Mr. Appliance of East Texas called me within a day or so to set up the appointment. They were very fast about it and we just had to coordinate our schedules so that they could come out here. They came to check out both issues and they did a great job. They were knowledgeable and I appreciated the safety that they took because of the COVID thing. They always came in with masks plus they had their shoe coverings and gloves.
Compared to them, the other repairmen that I've had since AHS has had our contract need to take better notes. I had an issue because of this refrigerator and was told on the first three visits by the contractor that came to deal with it that they had put the notes in there about what they were doing as well as the parts. But it didn't seem that way. It seemed like Sears didn't pass their notes onto AHS. They submitted the request out, then Sears had come and done the service. But there was a lack of information coming back to AHS telling them what had been done and what was the result. So, that needs to be dealt with a little better. I'm also hoping that my rates aren't gonna go up because last month, I saw a little bit of an increase. But I thought it was because of a service call as they charge you for the service calls. Other than that, AHS has answered my needs and so far, I'm happy with them.

I had a claim with AHS that I wasn’t satisfied with. I had a dishwasher that had its door fall off. One side of it came off. The repairman came and got back to me. He listed the parts that were gonna be needed and I was told that it was physical damage and that it wouldn't be covered. I don’t know what physical damage meant if the door fell off. We didn’t pull it off. I wasn’t satisfied, but AHS has to deal with the rules.
Then my most recent claim was for when the stove wasn’t working properly. My wife complained that she couldn’t control the electric stove when she was trying to cook. There was no control over the two front burners and they would stay on high all the time. It was like that for a few weeks and I said that we needed to have it looked at so, I made a claim with AHS. It was a straightforward experience. Instead of doing it online, I called because I had some coupons that I needed to do. A man called a day later and he came in a couple of days. He looked at the stove, tested it, ordered some parts, came back in a week, and installed them. He was very polite and efficient. He was in and out very quickly. I was very satisfied.

More recently, I submitted an AC claim and their air conditioning guy from Millennial HVAC was out in the next day or two. The tech was great. We’ve had great experiences so far with American Home Shield. When the air conditioning unit outside the house would turn on, it would make this really loud embarrassing noise, like you could hear it from a couple of houses away. It was constantly running, like it would turn on and run for a good 30 minutes, then it would shut off for 10 minutes and be on again. It was like that all day and it’s not like I had the thermostat set super low. We have it set on 70 degrees, and it’s 85 degrees here. It was having trouble running and it was the bearings on the motor that were clearly going out on the AC. Platinum Heating & Air repaired it the same day and it’s working great. My upstairs AC was not cooling enough and even though if you set around 70 or 73, it was never trying to cool it to that level. It was always hot. I submitted a service request through American Home Shield online. I received the first appointment call and then the Comfort First technician came and diagnosed it. They looked at my Freon and the pressure was very low, so they said it was initially leaking somewhere. But the basic leak test did not tell where the leak was. Then they found out the evaporator coil was leaking and that was when they recommended to change the evaporator coil. Since it was within warranty, they ended up getting me a new evaporator coil from the manufacturer. I also receive follow-up calls, which was good.
American Home Shield's website is pretty decent. But when you narrow into your selection of what service, sometimes, there is more question that pops out than what it is on the drag down menu. That's when it becomes really challenging to pick the right one. With my AC claim, I requested some documents because if it fails again in a year or two and I'm not in contact with the Comfort First anymore, how do I make sure I process it the right way. But American Home Shield doesn't have proper documentation. I ended up taking a picture of the tag from the hardware itself and keeping a record for myself. I don't have any visibility of what the claim the contractor have submitted to American Home Shield.
So far, American Home Shield has been good. But the monthly premium is still a little high and sometimes, I need to be on top of the service calls and the follow-up calls. I had a different issue before with American Shield for my electrical claim and they sent me a technician that didn't have a clue what he was doing. I wished they sent a better technician. I needed to do a follow-up call a couple of times and then the third time was the charm and I got a better electrician who kind of very quickly fixed the problem. Within half an hour, he fixed the problem. So the challenge was finding the right technician and the right partner to work with.

He was very courteous, quick, and efficient. He left then came back with a tank a couple of days later and did the job. He got it up to code. I was here the whole day he was here. I didn’t even hear a bump and he was only a wall behind me. He was very quiet and I was impressed. My dad is a retired plumber so I’ve seen a lot of water heater jobs because I used to help him when the hot water heater is out. I know good plumbing when I see it and he did a good job. The permit people came out yesterday to inspect it and said it was perfect. It worked out well.
We’ve owned numerous houses and we’ve had American Home Shield with most of our homes. We've had the warranty a while. It’s easy. No matter what breaks that’s on my plan, it’s only $75 out of my pocket. But in this case, I paid for an upgraded water heater. That was my decision though, not theirs. I just like that all I have to do is go to the American Home Shield website and make the claim or give them a phone call, and they do everything else. I’ve never really had any challenges. They even paid the guy to fix something that wasn’t covered. It looked like it was covered initially then when they discovered what was wrong, it was actually something that I did wrong.

This is the second time around that I've had American Home Shield. It’s easy when you put in a claim with them and they follow up on it right away. I made a claim when I had water coming from the bathroom and I didn’t know where it was coming from. Rapp’s Heating and AC came out and they did some checking. They found out that it was from the water heater so they filled up and fixed that. I also had some faucets in the bathroom that I needed fixing. But they said they didn’t do that because they said the stem has been missing. Otherwise, they did okay.
In the first claim that I had with American Home Shield, it was good because it was by another company and I enjoyed it. I had a better experience with them than I did with Rapp’s. American Home Shield itself is good although I wasn’t completely satisfied because of some of those things. But I would recommend it. But maybe the person who has the warranty should know what’s covered. I had a plumbing issue and if they let me know that they didn’t do certain things, then I wouldn’t be expecting them to do that.

We never do the thing online when we need someone to come out. My husband does that and he goes on the phone, talks to somebody from American Home Shield. And for some weird reason, here, I had a phone call with someone and it wasn't very nice. And nobody ever called me back to follow up on it either. But other than that, the guy that came our for the icemaker was excellent. He really did a good job.
Sally,

Our air conditioner is in our attic. It has a tray that collects water if there’s a drain up there, and water drains down that. It clogged, so the automatic shutoff cut the air conditioner off, but we didn't realize that. I called in my claim with Home Shield. The contractor, True Air Solutions, was great. He had a mask on. We distanced ourselves. We didn’t get up in each other’s face and we did what we could. Everything was wonderful. All the other contractors have been great. When you called them out, they came right out and did everything. However, I’ve been calling two or three times a week ever since then to try to get this gentleman that works for Georgia Boy that does their appliances to come back to see what is wrong with my dishwasher and if it can be repaired. It has just been a constant, “We’re coming,” “I’m coming tomorrow.” And then, tomorrow comes, he doesn't come. He doesn't call.
My dishwasher stopped working. It wasn’t cleaning the dishes. The water didn’t get hot and didn't dry my dishes anymore. So, we called and made a claim on April 15th. Home Shield gave me a referral to a company called Georgia Boy Electric. It took a while for them to get the repairman out. Maybe two weeks. And then, it took them two or three more weeks to come back with the part to fix what the tech thought was wrong with the dishwasher. He came and fixed something in the heat control module. It was late in the day, so we ran my dishwasher that evening with my dishes and let him know the next day if it was fixed. I ran the dishes, but it was the same thing. The dishes were still dirty, the water was cold, the heat never came on, the dishes were still soaking wet. So, nothing got repaired.
I only called Home Shield Tuesday to tell them what was going on because I wasn’t sure what to do. I have never had a problem before with anybody. This is the third time we’ve had somebody with an issue. And we just can’t get anybody to respond from this particular company, but they told me they would have to recall to have that company, let them know they need to come back out, wouldn’t charge me the 75 fee because it was never fixed. So, I did that Tuesday.
I just spoke to the man who owns the the electrical part of the company this morning, and told him. Between my husband and I, we probably talked to them 20 times or more about trying to get this gentleman that he hired. It has been that long that we've been trying to get this gentleman who keeps calling. We have to call him usually to try to set up a time, and then, he doesn't come and he doesn’t call. And then, I’ll wait a day and give him a chance, and they would call again. It has just been constant between me and my husband trying to get someone to come repair it. The owner hired this gentleman to do the appliance part of his business, and he has started not to do what he normally did what he started there. That’s what the owner told me this morning.
He asked if my dishwasher had even been fixed. I guess they don't talk to each other, or he would have known. I told him no and said, “You should find something from American Home Shield because I got an email yesterday after speaking with them Tuesday, and they had to do a recall. But you should have another number.” He looked at his computer and he found it. He told me to call him back if I didn't hear anything from his appliance repairman in a day or two. If you go to make an appointment with me, I stay home and wait for you, and you don't call me or say you’re not coming, it’s just frustrating. That has happened about 8 or 10 times.
The guy told me, “Y’all have been the nicest customers. If you were my electrical customers, they would have already chewed my head off.” And I said, “Well, I’m trying to work with you. And it’s not that, it’s just that I can wash my dishes by hand. I grew up doing that. It’s just the idea of you just not following through, and eventually, it’s gonna reflect on your company, possibly.” I don't want to do that. So, I’m waiting right now to see. I’m giving a day or two to see if I even hear from the other that was an actual repairman if he’s going to come and see what he can do about my dishwasher. My dishwasher is not that old. It’s only about three years old.
We could have had that thing replaced, but we’ll have to see if the gentleman can repair it first. I told the owner this morning that Home Shield said if they can’t fix it this time, they either need to say they can’t fix it or it can’t be fixed and get a new dishwasher, or they would have to get another contractor to possibly come try to fix my dishwasher. He’s in limbo on that one. Hopefully, that gets resolved at some point.

The warranty was bought by the seller when we bought the house and in my case, it's very important to have it. A guy from Kyle's Plumbing got our plumbing issue fixed and then he was on his way. He was very professional and he knew what he was doing. We had another contractor out here today as well. We had no air conditioning and when I made the request over the phone, it was all done electronically. The guy who came in was great too. He was having a little bit of trouble finding the problem, then he realized the thermostat went bad and he changed it out.

I sent in a claim and everything was pretty simple with the process. It was very clear. Royal Flush came out and they replaced the spinner. AHS is very quick in responding and they are very accurate. So overall, it’s been great. I prefer submitting claims online because it's easier and I'm able to input the details. It’s hard to explain over the phone sometimes. So I figured email would be a lot clearer and more understandable.
Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

American Home Shield does a great job responding and getting things handled. When the stove wasn't working I filed the claim online. AHS called and had somebody come out and look. When they went to pick it up, they turned it on the corner and ripped my kitchen floor. The guy said he couldn't fix the stove, so then they had somebody else. I walked through it with a lady and I ordered a stove. They called and said they would have it delivered on a certain day between a certain amount of time. They ended up not installing it and then we had it installed ourselves. Overall I'm happy I have an oven that works but I'm really upset about my floor because my floor is from the entrance foyer to the kitchen, to the dining room. It's all one piece.

I had a toilet that was running and leaking around the base one time. I used American Home Shield's website and went forward with submitting a claim. Their site is great and it's a lot faster to request service through there than on the phone. Their system doesn't ask a lot of questions but I was able to say that I had a leak and that my issue involved a toilet. Home Shield assigned Lancaster Plumbing to service my claim and their system said that I would hear from Lancaster within 24 hours. In 4 hours, I heard from them and they schedule with me for the next day.
I was very happy with the service provided by Lancaster. The techs they sent were very professional and personable people. It was a family business and the dad who owns the company was on the phone with Home Shield while his son was getting the work done. While the plumbers were at my place, we found that we had another issue associated with my second bathroom. The tech was checking the outside of my house and found that there was a cracked sewer main pipe. Instead of that being something that could be added on to the service, I ended up having to make a second request with AHS. That was complicated 'cause it meant a second fee.
The techs ended up not having to come out a second time but I still got charged. Plus, AHS declined the service and I had to pay out-of-pocket for it. There was an assumption that the problem was caused by soil disruption or some sort of settling to the house. Additionally, I haven't seen the second fee come back into my account which is a little disheartening. Still, the issue was probably me being a new client and not knowing their system. Since the plumbers came, I've had no problems at all with my leaking toilet. Thus far, I've been satisfied with AHS.

The AC system wasn’t cooling and I sent a service request to AHS. A tech from Rush Heating and Cooling came out and he changed a part inside. AHS has been very reliable but at the time, I was put on hold for an hour. Still, I would let that pass because I know that we're in peculiar times and I understand that it was because of COVID-19. And before that, any time I called for service, I've never had any reason to complain.
Other than that, when my dishwasher went bad, AHS sent in someone. He came to check and a part of it was discontinued. AHS said that they'd offer me a new one, but they offered me a GE. Everything in my house is Bosch and JennAir, so I wanted another Bosch. They told me that if I went to the store and got a new one, they would make a check out. They already told me how much they were gonna give me, but what I wanted was way more expensive than that. I went to a store and bought it. Then, I called AHS and the guy I spoke to didn't say anything. He just said that the instruction was in the email and I didn't have to call. I want to believe that was because of the COVID-19 stuff because I’ve never had that experience with them before. So, I sent him the email as well as the photocopy of the receipt and I hope to hear from AHS soon.

We submitted a claim for the refrigerator about the same time we did for our HVAC. When I submitted the claim, it asked what kind of refrigerator it was. I put LG. I even put the model number. So, the guy that Home Shield sent out showed up at the house, walked in and looked at the fridge and said, “Yeah, I can’t do anything with this.” I asked why and he said, “You need a certified LG technician for this.” It was literally an absolute waste of time. I don’t know why Home Shield would send that guy down. I guess he called Home Shield and they sent an LG. But in the meantime, we were out a fridge for two weeks. On the other hand, Best HVAC was really good. I like them.

The washing machine was vibrating, and it wouldn't turn off. I had to unplug it. If I plug it back in, it would start up on its own. The fellow that AHS sent came and checked it and he had to order parts. He knew what the parts were. It was a control panel in the Maytag washing machine that had gone bad. It took about two weeks for the part to come in. He came out again and fixed it. It didn't take him long. It's been running good ever since. I'm waiting on a repair now on my stove. They've already given me the name of the company. So, I'm waiting for this company to call me. With this virus going around, things are a little slow. The claims process of AHS is easy. All you gotta do is have the credit card or bank account, and you just pay that one-time fee of $100. AHS does a good job and they do what they say they're gonna do. Everything has been smooth. We had a pipe under the sink that broke in half. The website was good, although I would have appreciated if it was more detailed on what exactly was covered because when I submitted my claim for a plumbing, it just said, “Plumbing.” So, I thought that was regarding anything with plumbing. But when the contractor came out, they said, “Oh, well. This pipe broke because of a pre-existing condition,” which we haven’t been aware of from previous owners. So, it ended up not being covered.
I get that insurance covers some things and doesn’t cover others, but I didn’t feel it was clarified well enough when I went and tried to figure out if it was going to be covered before I went through the process. They said that if it had been part of the drain pipes coming from the faucet or if it had been part of the disposal, it would have probably been covered. But it was the one coming out of the wall. It wasn’t covered because of that, but it wasn’t very clear. It was disappointing to find out. We’ve had one guy come in and give us a quote, and then remembered that we had the Home Shield. So, we thought, “Oh, excited.” It’s a lot. We didn’t understand what was going on, so some of that is on us and not Home Shield’s fault.
But what I really appreciated was that the service was very good. I appreciated that even though Home Shield ended up not covering it, they sent us a contractor who was excellent and we used them to get the work done instead of some of the other people that we called in. Even in the future, if I have something that’s not covered, I may contact Home Shield to find out which contractors they use because they pick reliable, trustworthy, good contractors. I really liked the plumbing guys that Home Shield sent out. They were great, did a really good job, and seemed very honest. The service was very quick. I will probably use the contractor in the future if we had any other plumbing issues.

All Home Appliances has been pretty good. The main issue we had was about getting the parts. The last claim that we had was for the dishwasher. The contractors kept coming out, and it’d be another part the next time. They fixed the part they found bad, and they found something else wrong. It was just frustrating how long it took the part to get in and them to get out. And then they finally said it wasn’t gonna be able to be fixed.
American Home Shield has been good, except my wife had to stay on the phone when she’d call them for three to four hours before she could talk to somebody. It was very frustrating for her. And one other thing that we were quite frustrated with is what we do if an appliance needs replacing. We just get a check from them and we go buy the stuff ourselves. This time, we decided to go through American Home Shield since we think it might be easier just to go through that way. When we ordered a dishwasher, nobody let us know it was on backorder. My wife called back in and found that out. The guy said they would just send a check. If we had known that it was in backorder she would have picked another one, or we’d have dealt with it the way we finally did deal with it last weekend.

I called a plumber and he said that pump and labor costs $300 + $175= $475. I told American Home Shield that their cash out option does not cover the cost, but that is all they would offer. Once the parts were received the contractor came back out and repaired the dryer. The part for the washer was replaced but did not correct the problem. I called the warranty company, they contacted the contractor, the contractor called me and stated he didn't know what else to do and that he would call the warranty company to see what they wanted to do. She returned to our phone call and stated she would have to send an email to get approval for the second opinion and it would take a day or two. Today is exactly a week since I spoke with her and I have heard nothing from anyone. I called AHS, sat on hold for 36 minutes, Seev came on the line and I explained the situation. Seev put me on hold to pull up my contract and 30 seconds into my holding I hear a click then a dial tone. I'm not one to post reviews but I I felt it necessary to share how shameless American Home Shield is. AHS refuses to replace my HVAC although AHS has failed for the last three years to make successful repairs. The HVAC either leaks water which has caused substantial damage to my home, leaks on the outside forcing us to replace freon three times within a 10 months period costing almost $1,000 out-of-pocket (which AHS will not cover), and when it's not leaking water or freon, the HVAC does not properly cool. American Home Shield's position which it has represented several times to me is that as long as the motor is running, whether the HVAC cools the home or not, the HVAC is not broken. An HVAC that leaks water when it runs, leaks freon, and does not properly cool the home in which AHS has failed to successfully repair for the last three years, is not an operational HVAC and does not perform according to its function and purpose.
Every year, AHS basically waits us out battling with us for three months during the heatwave with delays and denials until the weather cools down. Three years, numerous appointments and phone calls with multiple HVAC contractors, numerous phone calls and escalations to American Home Shield and the result is damage to my home and no resolution. If there was an option for no stars, I would give them 0 stars. They operate in bad faith and take advantage of homeowners, when we rely on home warranties to assist with repairs and replacement os such things, or else what is the point of getting a home warranty.

I've had an account with AHS for 7 years on a rental property. They do not have the ability to schedule cancelation of the contract so you have to do it on the day you want to terminate. They are impossible to reach and you spend literally hours on hold waiting to speak to a customer service rep since they do not have this capability for you to do it online. Then they charge you a termination fee. When you do finally speak to the representative, they only are interested in trying to get you to continue or renew the contract. I think this is unscrupulous and they are using COVID 19 as an excuse to limit access to their service reps.
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service & I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for sharing your feedback. Have a great week.

My dryer stopped drying and it did the same thing earlier in the year. AHS had a different company come out. I thought that if the dryer broke down and they sent the same person out for the same thing, then I didn't have to pay the $100. I asked the girl about it and she said something about it being within the six-month time. I used to live at a different address, I had AHS about nine years and I never knew that. When they came out and fixed my stuff before, they never charged me again for the same thing. Their claims experience was great, which was why I went back with you guys.

I went online and submitted a claim to AHS. The website was very user-friendly. I got an email when they assigned a contractor to come out and service the issue and in less than a 24-hour time frame after I got the email, I was contacted by the service provider, to put up an appointment. We had some issues with our main breaker in our house. The lights were flickering and pulsing. We heard an arc sound in the utility panel, so we had to turn everything down, our AC, and everything that ran on 220 or 240 volts in our house but not actually function. Our house is on a well pump so we had no water and no AC. So first, AHS sent one company out but they didn't have the parts to fix the issue. They couldn't find the breakers.
So then, they referred another company to AHS called Ohio Electrical Services. They came out and diagnosed the problem, found that the main breaker was the issue, and there was another breaker along with that that was bad for the AC unit as well. He started by tapping on some of the breakers and we heard them arcing, the main breaker as well because the main box has some issues as well from the breaker arcing. It burned up a little bit. But he was able to find the right part and fix both of those breakers.
The contractors did a really good job. The first company that came out did at least help in getting a new company out to fix the problem. The second contractors did a phenomenal job. The technician seemed to be very knowledgeable. Since they've been out, we've had no issues. Our experience with AHS has been great. We're fortunate to have a home warranty because of the issues that we had.

The American Home Shield website was good. I used it when I made a claim for my unit. I understood the website and it wasn’t hard to figure out, which I appreciated because I was already frustrated then. I bought my house and it's a year old but I needed a fix for my furnace. I put the work order in and it said pending. I then checked the website again and it said scheduled. A guy then called me and asked if he could come on a certain day.
The tech from Floyd Services was nice and professional. He told me what he needed and asked me, “Where is this at? Where is that at?” The tech did what he needed to do and told me that I needed the part. That was a Thursday or Friday. He said they would have the part the latest on Wednesday. When he got the part, he called, came, put it in, and it’s been good to go ever since.
I was scared over my appliances. I’m in Texas and it gets pretty hot. It was an emergency in my eyes and the tech was very prompt. It wasn’t like I had to wait weeks. It was not like he had to come back out then I wait a week and he came back out. The whole situation lasted about a week, which I was thankful for. I’m very satisfied.

I filed my original claim with AHS about three weeks ago. The dryer guy came back on Monday and let them know an electrician was needed. For some reason, the electrical plug shorted and it ruined the plug to the dryer. The dryer guy ordered the plug and the electrician has to come out to change the outfit. Around Wednesday, the electrician called me and scheduled for Monday, then he called back and said they needed to come Tuesday. I’m still without a dryer. But usually, it’s a lot faster.
One of the things they need to consider, especially for small towns like in Alabama, is that they need to know where you live as opposed to the vendor they're sending. I live in Decatur, and usually, the vendors are coming from Huntsville or Birmingham, which is anywhere from 40 to an hour and 15 minutes away. AHS could use more local vendors that are closer to your home and you may be more familiar with their quality of work. Even though AHS responds quickly, the vendors don’t and that has been consistent throughout the 15 years we've been with them. AHS covers most of the things you usually have issues with, like plumbing, electric, and appliances. We also have a pool. We’re getting ready to add another property to our AHS account.

We purchased a house from someone else and we were just changing the locks. Some of the keys didn’t work. The JB Lock and Key tech was here for two hours but there was one doorknob that he wasn’t able to change because it was old. We had to get a new doorknob and he left us instructions on how to make sure that the keys we already have will work with the new lock we have to buy.
We also filed a claim for our air conditioner. The contractors communicated and were very efficient, very professional and nice. They got it all fixed in a couple of hours. And the City of Wichita had to come out and inspect it when it was done, and they said it was fine. We have been satisfied with our American Home Shield experience. And this might just be the nature of the game, but what I have found to be fairly frustrating is the uncertainty of what’s going to be covered and what isn’t. Like we’ll have someone come out and look at something and still pay the $75 for it. Then it’s not covered so it feels kind of like we just wasted $75.

When I made my first claim with American Home Shield, it was for the heating but when the company that they sent out came and left, I had no AC. It has been an ongoing problem because of the initial claim. Whatever they did, they messed up. One minute I might have heat and the next minute, I might have air but I never had both at the same time. Normally, I'm not here and somebody might be here with the other company, but I was home when the contractor came. He felt like the house was cool so I did some explaining to him and he said that he understood but he was gonna check it out anyway. So, he did and spent some time here. I haven't had a problem since he left and because of the repair, the house is livable. Without it, I don't think we would be able to stay here.
I called in the initial claim where I made my payment but after that, I always spoke to an operator because it was an ongoing problem. I’ve only had good experiences with the reps over the phone. If they couldn’t fix the problem, they would send it to somewhere else and tell me they would get back with me or I would get a call from somebody. So, I have no problems with them.

I had a Sears protection plan for my stuff and somebody recommended American Home Shield instead of Sears and I decided to cover the whole house instead of just the appliances. Tempal came out recently for an AC repair and the gentleman was very professional and honest. I am a mechanical engineer and I knew what the problem was, and he didn’t lie. He did exactly what he needed to do so I was impressed. This was my first experience with American Home Shield. I was upset thinking it was gonna be a lot of hassle, but not at all. He came in, did a great service, and so far, I’m very happy.

Sub Temp came out to see if I had a leak. It did not appear that I had a leak. The unit was low on Freon by just a small bit. The tech serviced it and he was very kind, very prompt, on time, and super good at educating. He was very thorough, showed me the meters and the gauges, and put just a little bit of Freon in, and it has made my unit a lot better. It was a good experience with them.
I called American Home Shield over the phone to submit my claim, and they were gonna have a gentleman come out who never showed up. So, I waited. I called back, spoke to another lady and I said, “You know, it's hot out here. It's 104. I can't have my air at 80 something. I have animals, etcetera.” I still had to wait two weeks and I was unhappy about the wait. I also didn’t like the way the second customer service person answered when I told her the vendor never showed up. She said, “Well, I've gotta put it in for dispatch.” I said, “Well, can I not call my own person because your person didn’t show up?” She said it needed to go through their system.
Then she kinda argued with me saying, “Well, if you have a family and you just bought this house, this could have been a previous thing.” I said, “No, ma’am. This wasn’t preexisting. This house was serviced back in April with no issues that I was told by the owner.” I have contacted that person. I also said, “Freon leaks happen all the time and it just could be my luck. At the end of the day, I don't know if there's a leak or not, I can just tell you it's not cooling appropriately. Then the unit was only a year and a half old.” She kinda went back and forth with me. I just finally said, “If you'll just send somebody out here to look at it, then we can kinda go from there.” So, she did, and Sub Temp came out.
My biggest complaint is that it took almost three weeks to get somebody out to my facility. With the air conditioning and the air about 103 degrees, that was a really long wait time. And I think before they get out to the facility, they shouldn’t decide that it's a pre-existing condition. I shouldn’t have had to have argued with their rep over that. That was disappointing.

I had a leak in my half bath, and Rapp's Heating & A/C came out and discovered that it was my toilet that was leaking under the tile. Their tech took the commode up, put a new rubber seal down and replaced the toilet.
For the most part, it's been smooth with AHS and I've been pleased with them. They respond to the request quickly, which I appreciate. My only concern was the AC. They did not approve doing what was necessary for the AC unit. I explained to them, “I've been in this house 15 years, so anything I call you for is gonna be old.” But the rep showed me the information on the plan where they would handle the inside, but they wouldn’t handle the outside or vice versa. Also, the last time they came out, I wish they let me know ahead of time what they would not take care of. If I put in a request and it's something that they know that they're not gonna cover, then they should let me know that before sending a repair person out.

If you have a disability, there’s nothing better than this warranty.
When I bought the house last year, before closing, the seller had to buy the buyer a home warranty. So, they went with American Home Shield. The year was up and the price was too high. I wasn’t going to renew, and then I called them and then they caught me a little bit of a break, and then I renewed. It wasn’t a big discount, but I told them I was military and disabled. The rep I spoke with knocked money off. Submitting a claim is so damn easy. I did the microwave thing online. With the air conditioning, I have called because I was in a panic. I personally have had one policy for a few years, but we, as an organization, are going on our second renewal with American Home Shield. I manage 10 accounts and filing claims, for the most part, has been pretty good. When I call, the reps are usually very friendly, but they cannot solve the problem, and that’s the issue. I feel like the customer service is just directing me on what I can do on the website. There's no additional assistance other than that.
When I called them about the appliance or when I have a question about why I’m getting different amounts billed for my premiums, I got through to somebody in the regular customer service, and he'd always say that I have to call this number. However, I can never get through when I get directed to a different number. They’ve been friendly. They're just not helpful. American Home Shield should at least have the customer service people more access to other resources that if they can’t help, then they should have some type of direct line where they can find out and then call that department directly or whatever they need to do.
Recently, I’m not having a good experience. We have a washer that couldn't be repaired and it’s been going on now a couple of weeks. We’re supposed to get a replacement but I have not heard anything. I’ve tried to call the number. I’ve been on hold for about three hours total in different times that I’ve tried and held and I’m not getting through to anybody for a replacement.
The other issue is that there is one AHS contractor who I do not like and I’ve asked for them to be taken off, but they continue to send them. I have to keep calling and saying that I don’t want them to come out. Hopefully, somebody can address that. Overall, the service of American Home Shield itself is very helpful. It’s very effective in maintaining a budget that you can manage when you have major things that go out. They’ve been really good as far as having the services that you need to be able to save money.

I'm used to putting the request in on the internet. I was inside sales for many years so I was used to the phone aspect of it, and you could never get through them. Now, I called about some billing or something and I got through. I'm also going to call them because I have a claim in right now. My air conditioner is not cooling. I put the request in at 4:00 in the morning via email because I couldn’t sleep. It was too hot. I had to call the company they assigned and they said, “Yes, we have it. We'll give you a call back when we know when they're gonna be available.” I've waited long enough, so I'm going to call All Fix.
Somebody else had Home Shield and their hot water tank went. Home Shield decided to put in a water tank that was offered by the company that serviced the hot water tank. They came in and said, “Oh, we gotta replace it.” So, she called Home Shield and they said, “Okay, we’ll put this one in.” Well, in a year and a half, it was gone. It didn’t work. She tried to go back to Home Shield and they didn’t know anything about it. They probably put in a contractor’s water tank. That’s the cheapest thing they can get in. They will replace it, but there’s a particular value set on the item. And whoever I called said, “No, I can’t tell you that ’cause I don’t know that.” And I said, “Well, can I call anybody, somewhere else in the company?” “No, we don’t tell people that.” That sounded funny to me.
I used the hot water tank because I looked at my contract and I could not see, “Well, up to $600 or up to $1,000.” I couldn’t have figured that out. We also asked verbally, but they couldn’t tell me. I had questions about something about the area I’m in and some things else, but I still couldn’t get an answer on the monetary value. Also, Home Shield should lower their prices.
The last time All Fix Service was out, we had a surge in power that took out our trip switches in the kitchen and then you push them back in. We called the neighbors and they were having the same trouble. So, we called Duke and Duke told me to call an electrician, which was incorrect because later on in the day, we found out that one of Duke’s work parties was doing something that was causing it. So, that’s originally what All Fix came out for, but the tech checked those and they were all right. But I have one outside that he checked, and that wasn’t working, so he installed a new trip switch. I’ve used them before and I’m quite happy with them.

When I call AHS, getting a hold of someone takes forever. Other than that though, I've been okay with them. Most recently, they sent Certified Comfort Heating & AC out to service my claim and they did a good job. I'm pleased.

I went and I read some of the ratings for home warranties and ended up with American Home Shield. It was pretty good when I made a claim with them. Within 24 hours, First Call Heating And Air Conditioning called to set up an appointment. But my wait time was a week which I thought was a long time. This was from start to finish. The service was really good though.

I submitted a claim to American Home Shield over the phone for an AC issue and they sent Comfort First Heating & Cooling to handle the claim. The techs were very quick and professional. They were thorough and they cleaned up after themselves. I would like AHS to pay more towards the Freon cost but that's no big deal.

The AC wasn't cooling as it should so Element came out. The issue ended up being the AC needing refrigerant. The unit was also frozen so they had to unfreeze it. Before they left, they said it was gonna continue dripping. Sure enough, it continued dripping but it didn't stop and it was actually quite a bit. I called American Home Shield back and the contractor came back out. They drained the pipe because they were saying that, chances are, the reason it was still leaking was because the pipe was backed up. But after they left, it continued dripping for the whole time and a lot too. So I called again and they ended up having to cut part of the drain. They were saying that, chances are, there was a lot of buildup in there so they needed to cut the drain. So they did and I guess replaced it and now, the AC is working fine.
We’ve been with American Home Shield on and off since 2009 because we haven’t lived here the whole time. So as soon as we came back to the house, we went ahead and signed back on. The claim was handled perfectly on their side. The issue wasn't really on American Home Shield's part. It was really on the company. I kinda wish the AC people would've done it differently. Normally, when I've had AC people come out, they do a whole servicing. They fix whatever the issue is and then they do the servicing of cleaning it out. I feel like that would've been one less time that they would've had to come out if they had just done that from the beginning. But they were good at addressing the issue and having people come back out here really quickly.

Updated on 06/05/2020: Follow up to my previous review on May 27th. Our AC is still not repaired. It has now been 13 days. The contractor finally came out on day 6, needed to order parts and said he would be back by mid-week to fix it. The parts took 3 days to be approved 2 days to ship and now apparently arrived yesterday, but still no appointment scheduled to install them. Today is Friday, so that means that it will be Monday AT THE EARLIEST, and since there's been no activity, I doubt that will happen. If it is done Monday that will be 16 days without AC. It is 86 degrees in my house currently and on Monday it is supposed to be in the 90's here. All that's happened so far is I'm $100 poorer and have a very hot house. A local contractor could have fixed this in 48 hrs. I've already told my realtor to never use this company for any future sales, just a total disaster.
Original: Our A/C went out and after submitting a claim online like they recommended, they assigned a contractor that could not work on geothermal cooling systems. That was 4 days ago and we have not heard a peep from anyone at AHS since. I've spent 6 hours on hold with their terrible phone system and was told that our claim was in queue 2 days ago and to expect an appointment within hours. Still nothing. Meanwhile my house is 82 degrees and there's no end in sight. If I had just called a local contractor I'm sure this would have been fixed already. Total scam of a company.

I have been a customer for approximately 3 years. When I initially called to inquire about the service plans I was told that they basically covered everything in the home including plumbing. I also got my son to enroll in a plan thinking that we would save money just in case we had future maintenance issues. My 1st call was a broken pipe in the wall, I was told they would repair the pipe but none of the expense of getting to it (the pipe was located between 2 vanities) or to repair the damage to the walls or vanities once the pipe was fixed.
When I had called inquire about the plan I specifically asked about slab leaks and was told they were even covered. The few repairs that we have called in have mostly been quick repairs which seem to go a little smoother. We had an A/C issue that wasn't covered, The HVAC tech wanted to charge 3 times more to fix the problem. My washer quit working and was reported over a week ago. The tech came out the following day and called AHS. I have called everyday asking for an update. After holding for over an hour each time I was told it was waiting for authorization and they would be calling me.
After 4 days, I asked for a supervisor and was told the tech never called in the parts, I told her that the parts were called the day of the repair. She said they weren't. I was allowed to try to call the tech but he didnt answer, she refused to make any future attempts. She said they would wait 3 more days for the tech to call in or send a new tech. I was assured that she would follow up and call back which didn't happen. The call took over 4 hours and I was disconnected twice. I called the tech again. He was able to get a hold of AHS and they found the information that was submitted the day he came out. It has been over a week since I reported the washer and nothing has been done.
I called today and was on hold again for over an hour. Customer service finally answers and says their system is down and cant look up the repair. You would think they would mention that while you are on hold that long. I was assured that I would get a return call and once again I didn't. I called back tonight and was on hold over 3 hours. I was told they found the Tech information but don't expect a call for at least another week. It will be over 2 weeks for them just to assess the washer and let me know what they want to do with it. I asked if she felt that it was good customer service. She says she sees this type of work orders all of the time and it is standard. I have repeatedly explained to them that I would rather them try to repair it since it is a front load machine with a pedestal and they don't make that color. The contract says parts are covered. I pay my monthly fee and service fee that just went up again. They don't seem to care.

I had American Home Shield before and have been on and off with them for quite a while. The AC was running a long time. The fan started making a weird noise. I knew something was wrong, so I opened the AC up, and the cooling coil inside the furnace was all frozed up. Extreme LLC came out and recharged the system, but their tech said there was a leak in the coil and it was gonna have to be replaced. Everything’s working right, but there’s still a leak. The tech said he was gonna put in an estimate to AHS and go from there. With AHS, I like the peace of mind that if something goes terribly wrong, hopefully, I’ll be covered.

Last year, we had someone come out and fill the AC with Freon. We paid the $400 plus the service fee. Then again, this year, the AC stopped working. The technician who came out was super nice guy, awesome and very professional. He said that there was a leak but he couldn't find it. But then it seemed that what he told us was not the same thing that he told American Home Shield.
AHS only pays a certain amount for Freon. Then the technician charged us $375 and then we paid $100 for him to come out, and then they charged our account another 56.99 for the extra Freon. I asked him at what point would American Home Shield replace thee AC 'cause it was getting ridiculous. He said our coils were rusted and he showed us that. He also said that our unit was extremely old and would need to be replaced and that we needed to start looking into doing that but American Home Shield would never replace it. They would just continue to send a technician out and fill it with Freon and we'd pay for it. It didn't really make any sense ‘cause that was one of the reasons why we paid for AHS. But he insisted and said that he had worked with them and they would just keep replacing the parts and would not ever replace it.
The technician sent my husband a text after he left telling us a new unit would cost us about $4,000 and a phone number to call back. I called and spoke to another guy and it was very hard to understand him too. I explained to him what the technician had told us. I actually read the technician's text to him. He then put me on hold. Then he said that he called the person from TC and the person said they never told us that and that out unit didn't need to be replaced. But he gave me a different number to call if I would want to buy a new unit. I didn't call the number because I was a little frustrated.
Fortunately, we had to get our refrigerator and we had to have them come out and check it out. That technician said that they'd have to order a new door for it. It was our icemaker that wasn't working. Then American Home Shield said that they'd just replace it and they gave us much we can order off online which was wonderful. But I had to see a refrigerator to make sure it would gonna work in our area and I also would like to see what I was buying. But it was a great experience there. I just don’t understand what they're covering and what they're not covering when it comes to the HVAC.

The lines itself where the restroom sits were clogged. I don't know what exactly the tech did, but he went in there and fixed it. It looked like he knew what he was doing. It didn't took him too much time to figure it out. He fixed the whole thing that was having issues with. He didn't take that much time, and I was satisfied.

It takes a lot to get a claim filed with Home Shield. It is difficult at times to have things taken care of. They would replace home appliances and they would save you in the long run that way, but there have been hours of phone time and phone calls that I’ve had to spend in trying to get claims taken care of and replaced. Also, their billing department really needs to have someone go through and give them some assistance because I was billed for the same service fee multiple times even though it’s been paid. I had to call back and try to get that corrected. After telling them multiple times, it took a couple of months to get it handled.
It takes a lot of effort but it's good. We had a refrigerator issue where the refrigerator had broken twice and they replaced it. Instead of me having to spend $3,000 to replace my refrigerator, they covered it. Also, I had a claim that AnyTime came out for. The issue that the tech corrected the first time they came out started working but another portion of the air conditioner or something to that effect went out. They had to come back out but they did really well. The unit is working well now and their service was good and super friendly and all of that.

I had an air conditioning problem and I submitted the claim to American Home Shield. This was the first time I used AHS. I got it when my nephew told me about it because he has it. I had to pay $100 initially and that would cover anything that had to do with the air conditioning. They will send a company out to take care of the problem.A company came out and the gentleman told me that it could be done but it was gonna take a lot of work. He stayed here for 20 minutes but he was on the phone the whole time.
About an hour after the gentleman left, AHS called and told me that I would have to have a plumber here. They would have to tear out the wall in order to get the coil out to clean it. I told the rep that was not right. I've had the coil cleaned before and they didn't have to go through all of that. Plus, I didn't appreciate the man not speaking to me, with me being the homeowner. She said that they had been having problems with some of the contractors. The customers were getting very angry so, they chose to have the contractors when they come out and come back and let AHS know what’s going on and what the recommendations are and they will call the homeowner. So, that's what they did.
I told her that I was very upset because I felt like I gave them $100 and she was telling me that I was gonna have to pay some extra money to have it fixed. The lady was very nice and she said that they normally charge another fee to have someone else to come out but she was gonna waive it and have somebody come out and check. And she did. Within 30 minutes, someone called me from South Cooling and said that they would be out there the next day.
The man was having problems at the previous home where he was at and he was running late. So when the AHS rep called, I said that I called South on what time the rep was gonna come because it was gonna start getting dark and I didn't know how long it was gonna take. The man got here about 2 o'clock and about 15 minutes later, another one came from South Cooling. So there were two of them that were here. They worked tirelessly in there and got the coil out. They didn't have to tear any walls and they didn't have any plumber here. They worked together, cleaned it and they took preparations of the acid. My air condition is running fine and I will recommend them to anybody. The gentlemen who were here spoke to me, told me what was going on and what they were doing. They were great and my house is cool. I will not recommend the first company at all to anybody.
I'm a breast cancer survivor and I cannot afford to be hot. That was one of the main things the doctor told me. I’ll start hyperventilating and get sick. So, I need to have my air conditioner. It's been raining lately here in Miami and I cut the air conditioning off, open up the windows and let the fresh air come in. Then at night, I turn it back on. The same night, I slept so good. It was a bad experience the first time with American Home Shield but once I understood and my nephew understood, we were good. I was gonna call them again for some other things. If I can get everything fixed by them, I'll get it fixed.

Since we’re all home now, we can’t go anywhere. We’re all eating at home and we have a lot of dishes to wash. One time, my dishwasher wasn’t washing the dishes, so we thought there was something wrong with it. I try to do everything online as much as possible and for me, it was really easy to submit the claim online. Everything went perfect too. It was absolutely as smooth as it could go. The tech who came was very polite and professional. He had a mask on and he knew what he was doing. He also helped me. He sent me the electronic manual for my dishwasher because I couldn’t find it. He was great.
He helped me get new racks as well. My racks were all rusted out and when it rinsed the dishes off, it was very bad. It was a health hazard. In fact, that was one of the things that I was worried about. He was explaining to me that that was really bad for us to have all of that because all of the chemicals and the rust were going onto our dishes because of the hot water. He got approval through Home Shield, and then he did the ordering. They came to my house assembled, and all my husband and I had to do was pop them in. It was beautiful, and it was the best service I ever got. I didn’t have to do anything.
Apart from the initial problem, we had a second call. The dishwasher wasn’t drying the dishes, so they sent the same guy out. He came back and he explained to me a couple of different things. We’re doing exactly what he said to do and now, my dishwasher is working fine. All in all, Home Shield is very affordable, and my only complaint about them is that something has to physically break before they’ll come out, which is counterproductive. Otherwise, anytime I’ve had something break down, they’ve always been out. They’ve repaired it and I’ve never had a problem with them ever.
Regina,
I am glad to hear all of your experiences have been pleasant. We look forward to a strong business relationship with you.

I called American Home Shield and I got called by the Organization Department the next day and the service was scheduled for about two days later. The contractor showed up when they said they were gonna show up. It was impressive. Then they took the deductible right out of my checking account. The tech came, figured out what was wrong, and changed a part that needed to be changed. He told me that the Freon was low. I didn’t even know the air conditioner took Freon. So I filled that up and it was $80 a gallon. AHS paid $10 a gallon and I paid the balance. He did a great job. Now, the air conditioner kicks on when I turn the air and I was very pleased with whoever came out. Three or four days later after the tech left, it was really warm and the air conditioner worked even better than it did before. So me and my wife were happy.

I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield and they said that the contractor would contact me. The website was not very user-friendly. I had problems with the microwave and the oven, which was a stovetop type of deal, and it wasn’t on there. When the guy showed up, he said he was gonna work on the cooktop and I told him it’s the oven. He said he didn’t feel confident working on an oven but he would fix my microwave and let AHS get someone else. When the second guy came out, he automatically said that he was gonna replace the mainboard. A couple of weeks went by. He came and put in the mainboard but the oven was still doing the same thing. He said I was good to go and he left. He said that what happened was I got the preheat light and the oven power light wrong. So, when it came up to temperature, a power light would go off. My wife asked if the oven was shutting off and I said no.
The technician came back out and I told him that the oven is still not fixed. It’s still making this crazy beeping noise. He asked if he could come back to my house at 10 o’clock the next day. He came to my house and about an hour and a half later, he said he got it fixed. He turned it on and there was no beeping noise. Everything's good. I told him I was gonna try it. He left at 5 o'clock. A couple of hours later, my wife came home, and I went and cooked something on the stovetop. I went to use the timer and there was no audio at all. So, his fix was to get into the main settings and shut the audio alarm.
I called AHS. You gotta call the 800 number and you're on hold forever so I went to their Twitter page and started harassing them there. They started sending me instant messages on Twitter that they would send someone else out. I was just kinda putting that guy on blast. I couldn't believe someone would be so dishonest. On Twitter, AHS said that they didn’t consider beeping a problem. The guy submitted a report and it said that all the functions worked but in bake, we would get those beeping. I said that the beeping happens on any mode and not just bake. I asked if the guy put in the report that it shuts off, and you have to go over and turn it off and turn it back on, trying to reset it. AHS was kind of silent for a while. Then, the lady got back to me today.
This was all on Twitter and no one was getting phone calls. She was saying that the guy was supposed to submit a report. I said that they told me three days ago that he has already submitted a report. And now, she was telling me that he should submit a report. They don’t understand that I get these guys' phone numbers and keep them. So, if there's something wrong, I call those guys right back. I texted the guy and asked if he already submitted a report. He said he has not submitted anything. I'm still trying to get my oven fixed and I’m on the third guy on it now. I haven't heard from anybody so right now, my experience with American Home Shield is not a very good one.

They did very well for the most part, but I had a company that was gonna come out to fix the garage door but they didn't because it was outside of their district. I called and told them that their company tried to come to my house but they really should've been going to my son's house. They said that I gave the wrong address online but I couldn't remember doing anything like that online.
When I called American Home Shield, the operator thing came on and asked what I was calling for and they wanted me to make the payment. I did that and then I pushed the button to get to the live person to make sure that they'd have the right area. When the live person came on, I told him the address and I also advised to have my son's phone number for when they'd get ready to come. They kept my $100 and then they said that they would not be coming because they were not in their jurisdiction.

I’ve had fairly decent luck with American Home Shield's contractors. But they are a little bit on the lowest bidder side so some of the contractors that we’ve had, especially plumbers, had been not the greatest. The best thing we could probably do is be able to have a list of people that we’ve used that we like that American Home Shield has contracted with, but I know that’s not how that works. Chasteen Plumbing was a good one though. We had an issue on our side with not being able to shut off the water because the city did something wrong and they came back out and fixed it. I was without a washer for four months. I’ve had to use AHS thrice this year and so far the contractors they've sent out were awesome. Doing my claims also has been fairly easy. But on their website where it says, “Other,” it doesn’t give you a space to explain what the other issue is. Also I would like to know, because it doesn’t tell me in the contract, if I have to make two separate appointments or just a single one like when I have to call them because my refrigerator is making some odd noise and also when at the same time the pilot has gone out on my range. That is confusing to me.

I'm very satisfied with American Home Shield. They're very accommodating and prompt in service. Everyone who had answered the phone were very nice to me. The guy from Desert Cooling was knowledgeable and prompt as well. He was very timely in coming and he knew what he was doing. I was with him in the garage while he was fixing my unit and he was explaining to me what else to do to prevent further problems. It was really nice.

AHS set me up with an appointment with GE when the ice and the water wasn't working in the door of the refrigerator. Then GE called me. They told me the day and the time was anywhere from 8:00 to 5:00. Gary came out and was here early. He did a good job. All in all, it was an easy experience. I just called AHS and they got the contractor out here.

The contractor who came was friendly and was able to repair the dryer on the same day he came. The issue was something in the drum. It was making a terrible noise and when you turned it on, you knew right away that it wasn’t working. We called AHS and now, it's working well enough for me to forget that it was broken. I like having coverage, which keeps unexpected expenses from popping up. Overall, I’ve been more satisfied than dissatisfied with AHS.

I like AHS's reliable service and the biggest thing is the peace of mind of knowing that we are protected if something large ended up breaking in our house. I filed a claim when there was no power to a couple of rooms in my house. The breaker was not tripped from what I could see, and I wasn’t able to restore power. The contractor was able to identify what the issue was and repaired everything on the same day in a pretty reasonable amount of time.

AHS is a good company but some of the people that came out here were not good. Despite that, having the warranty helps out a lot because if we didn't have it, we would end up spending more money. Recently, I had a problem with the air conditioner and the tech they sent out was really good. He called before he came, said he was on his way, and that he was five minutes away. And he was very friendly when he got here. He had his mask on and he came here ready to work. He also explained everything he was doing and told us what we may need to do in the future.

My AC went out. I called in because we have a child with medical needs. I talked to Paul and had the best customer service I could have ever asked for. I’ve actually got him twice now because our heat went out in the winter time and I talked to him then and he went above and beyond. He expedited this recent claim. They got it in. The place that they assigned it to originally ended up being booked up for over two weeks, and they couldn't take me. I had to call someone else.
I called back and I got a female this time and she went above and beyond. They had Fast Response by the next day. Fast Response contacted us and they were here by evening time. Chris the supervisor fixed the AC within 20 minutes. He already knew what was wrong with it. The battery is bad and he told us that he'd get it up and running. He was amazing so it couldn’t have been any better experience. AHS is absolutely incredible. We’re happy and we’re good. We’ve already spoken with our neighbors and they’ve already started to look into it.

The pump stopped working and Watertight replaced it. Everything’s fine. We were able to enjoy the pool last night. American Home Shield has been very prompt. They get contractors assigned immediately and follow through his repairs. We have AHS just about a year now. We had it previously in a previous home, and then we bought a new home and it came with a different warranty company. We were not happy with it and we switched back to AHS. They have been very responsive meeting our claims and getting things repaired for us. They’ve done an excellent job.

Most of my experiences with AHS were very rough and took many calls. One time, the washing machine was broken for six weeks and we didn't have my claim resolved before I sold the house, so I just threw it in the junk and I never got reimbursed for it. The problem was, AHS was sending one vendor out who said it was broken and needed to be replaced. Then, they sent another vendor out that said they had to order a part for it. But when the part came in, it still didn't work. And that was where we ended it because they wouldn't fix it or replace it after I sold the house.
But the last claim I had where Cullier Refrigeration came out was near perfect and it was the smoothest operation I've had with them. The claim was for the broken fan on the air conditioning system and the people who came out fixed it. AHS should make every experience like that. Usually, it takes two or three trips with two different companies to have a service completed and the process is crazy. AHS doesn't believe the first report, so they need to have a second report. I wouldn't recommend them to a friend but all the companies are like that. I had other ones before and every one of them was the same way. They fight every claim. And usually, I can outlast AHS. But on the washing machine, which was only a year old at the time, I got tired of dealing with them. I've been all the way up to their supervisor, then to the manager. And they were all the same. They all drank the same Kool-Aid and the same words came out of all their mouths.

AHS's contractor Passion Service Pro LLC came to do a repair on my dryer which was making an infernal racket. They gave me a window when they were coming and they came out in that window. The tech did a fine job. He found the issue and fixed it. He was courteous and he cleaned up after himself. Since then, the dryer has been working great. If I need to do another claim, it'll be probably just as seamless as this one was. AHS is very quick and efficient.

The contractors that have been sent to me by American Home Shield over the six or seven years that I have been with them have been great. We call in when we have claims and their reps and contractors respond to me within a day or two. I get an appointment for their tech to come out and they usually take care of my problem. Most recently, the tech who came from MS Services to service my AC was my kind of technician. He was a young guy but he knew what he was doing. He completed the job. I'm gonna stick with AHS as my home warranty provider. I would recommend them to anybody who could afford to get them.

The AC stopped working. I tried calling AHS to make a claim and it was saying I had to use the website, so that was what I did. The process was pretty easy and AHS sent me a confirmation e-mail. I called the contractor right away because I didn't know if they were gonna call or if I had to call because AHS just gave me their number and said that they'd contact me. I called to see if they could come earlier than I scheduled the appointment. But it turned out that American Home Shield scheduled my appointment as they told me that they had my appointment scheduled for the same exact day stated in the email I got from AHS.
Aside from that, the contractor did a really good job. It was an unfortunate situation that happened at that time because everybody's AC breaks down right when we get a heat wave. So, I wanted them to come out sooner and faster because it was so hot in the house. But they couldn't and they came out Thursday like they said they would. I had to wait a few days but I also understood that it had been a busy time for them, so I tried to not get mad about it. Also, they got the AC repaired and having it on helps. My husband works from home right now because of COVID, so he had to be inside the house. And it got us 95 degrees inside the house when it was 105 outside. I also have dogs, so not having AC in the house made it really difficult for all of them. Thankfully, I had to go to work but they had to stay at home and deal with it.

I had an AC issue and I submitted a claim online to American Home Shield. Everything was streamlined and moved well. The contractor determined that the AC unit was out of Freon and that it needed to be refilled. It was completely empty, so we were a little concerned that there might be a leak. But they checked for leaks and didn’t find one. With the unit being completely out of Freon, we were a little skeptical if it was sure that there was no leak. They told me that if there ended up being a leak and the Freon that they replaced it with ended up leaking out, I could follow back up with American Home Shield and I should be able to be taken care of under the warranty. So, as long as that’s true, and their work is warrantied like they said it would be for so many days, then I’m okay. They did a good job.

But the plumbing aspect was done quickly and efficiently. I have AHS in the Outer Banks in North Carolina and the service contacts respond pretty quickly, as Macmahon Plumbing did. I’ve had American Home Shield for years and years. I’ve always been afraid of the big expense of having to replace a $4,000 air conditioner. But the money I’ve spent on American Home Shield could have bought three air conditioners and three washers and dryers. It’s not all that impressive. It’s just puts you in a bind whenever you actually really have to pay for the big expensive stuff.
They’re not real quick to replace a whole unit. It takes a long time. They’ll replace all the parts before the whole unit, which is more expensive than actually replacing a whole compressor, central air, or washer and dryer, rather than just do a blower motor. Anytime you replace a motor, you’ve replaced the whole thing. It’s just as cheap so it doesn’t make any sense to me. My motor was intermittently turning on and off and Douglas Mechanical replaced a capacitor. The tech was great. The motor stopped working between 12:00 and 4:00 in the morning. He got out here and it was working again. But they got screwed on the fact that if they come out and don’t do nothing, they got 90 days that they’re responsible for. And if it goes out, they gotta come back out again. Plus, who knows what their boss does to them for not doing a thorough job.
If you have an intermittent problem, you may not be able to figure it out right away. I ended up having to go without an air conditioner twice. The other thing that goes wrong there is if they have to order a part, I’m without the air conditioner till they get the part. If it’s a big part, they gotta order it. They usually don’t have them in stock, and they gotta run through American Home Shield, and it’s gotta go through all the approval process. It’s a long, drawn-out pain in the butt when I could run out and go and buy a new washer or dryer that day and be good as gold. With the air conditioner system, either the outside compressor or the inside coil unit, those would take several days or at least three to five days to get replaced either way you go.

I thought I had a leak in the drain in the tub, but it was the stop coming out of the tub that had a leak in it. The guy from Plumbing Enterprises put a new seal both on the drain and then on the stop. It’s been dry ever since. I didn’t have any difficulty with the person that came. Initially, we thought he had it fixed when he fixed the drain, and then it leaked again. When I called back to report that, their first reaction was, “Well, you didn’t list the drain plug as being the problem, you just said it was leaking. So, that would be a new report.” That was a little surprise. But the plumber himself did fine. I got back to him through his phone, and he came back out the next day and fixed it properly. I’m okay with my American Home Shield policy. I'd tell others to buy a house with this policy.

They replaced the capacitor and completed the repair within 45 minutes. It’s been awesome. I’ve got cold air and I couldn’t ask for more. I highly recommend AHS. The Lindsay Company was fantastic. I had a claim in for another issue that they were supposed to come out the following day for and then all of a sudden, I had a sewage backup which was an emergency. I called and asked them if this could be added to the claim and get someone for the day and they were there in an hour and was able to get it unclogged. With the urgency behind it and responsiveness, they did a good job.
Submitting a claim with American Home Shield has been pretty straightforward. I tried doing it on my phone at first and something was happening where I couldn’t submit it. After posting this review, I again contacted AHS and suggested a resolution to my claims, which they agreed to and have subsequently resolved my claims. I would put 5 stars but I’m surprised to have to have had to make such an effort to get my claims resolved when they could have very easily been addressed at the time they were submitted. It appears they are interested in their customer ratings and made efforts to improve.

This company makes it a regular practice to deny claims and uses dishonest contractors who give false information to them, to base their denials. I have placed three claims in the last year that have not been resolved. One was denied for no reason - the tech came, I paid my fee and I never heard from them again. I had to call AHS to find out it was "denied" and no reason was given.
I had them come for a pool pump that went out. They only replaced it with a rebuilt one with a three month warranty. It started making a loud noise so I called and paid another fee, only to be told that "it was noisy but wasn't broken, so they could do nothing". Now my washer started making a loud noise - since I knew they wouldn't fix it just for that, I waited till it actually stopped working. Placed a claim, paid the fee - the tech asked me "if I had been washing blankets" which I said no, only clothes. He reported that I had "misused the appliance by overloading" and also made several other false statements about the condition of my machine - the claim was denied. (He lied to AHS.)
Truly, my premium would have been better spent just paying legitimate techs to actually fix my items, not pay fees just to be denied coverage. I feel they are dishonest and are not providing the service the policy is supposed to cover. They find any excuse they can (and not legitimate ones) to deny fixing things. I suggest people save their money and just hire good repair companies and save the aggravation. I am very dissatisfied as a customer.
We would love to hear more about your experience in an effort to resolve your issue. A social media rep will follow up with you soon.

Please note that this review is about the companies that they have allowed to work for them not American Home Shield themselves. Just the selection process they use to vet the technicians. We rent our home since we were new to the area. In the first 6 months, the dishwasher started acting up. Called the landlord and we went through this process with American Home Shield. So far, so good and easy enough.
Then the technicians started showing up. I cannot remember the name off the top of my head but they were out of Tracy, CA. 3 different technicians looked at our unit. They all had different ideas or theories. Parts were ordered and they would block out another 4 hour window that they would be at our home. This means time off of work so we can be present for the technician. Then, "they ordered the wrong parts". Who? Why? I let YOU into my home. YOU were the one that was supposed to remedy my situation. Long story short is they ended up replacing the unit after 4 weeks!
Now, my wife and I chalked this up to a random circumstance and went on with life. Then the garage door stopped working. We knew what to do now, contact American Home Shield! So we did this and when the technician showed up (another 4 hour window) he identified that the motor was shot. Weird that that is the cause when it runs in hand from the buttons smoothly but hey, I am not the technician so okay. Then they came back again (another 4 hour window) and tried to replace a part but "they ordered the wrong part" was passed along again. WHO?!? You came here and inspected the unit.
So this time, I am writing a review to see how substandard companies can get into alignment with a warranty company so easily when the service they provide is poor. The technician this time told my wife, "I feel horrible so I will take the head back to my shop and get you back running no later than Monday". Weird that all of the appointments are on Thursdays... Anyhow, Monday came and went and the office contacted us Tuesday to say they needed another 4 hour window on Friday. Ok, not the best but 10am-2pm on a Friday is not the worst thing to ruin our plans. Except they never arrived. No call - No show.
We left at 3pm irritated but feeling pretty good about being able to get out of the house during a pandemic that some of the restrictions were just lifting. The technician had the nerve to call my wife (she did not answer) when he got to our house at 3:25pm (per camera footage). They left a note on the door. Now I am a fairly reasonable person to a point so I called the technician myself on Tuesday (day after Memorial Day) to get to the bottom of this. The guy actually told me that we were not home when he came to fix the unit on Friday. Hmmm...REALLY, you were not here during the window! Then he went on to tell me that they had to order another part and we would be up and running by Thursday or Friday. Hmmm.....then why were you even at my home on Friday?!?
Oh wait, I get to miss ANOTHER 4 hours of work to be home for you to prove your unprofessionalism AGAIN! YAY ME! Since this is still the Tuesday, I cannot finish my review just yet but rest assured that Ace's Garage Repair & Installation out of Hayward, CA will never EVER get even 1 cent from me. There are far too many more reputable companies that have pulled stunts like these on homeowners. I feel for anyone else who has them dispatched to their homes just because of a reputable company like American Home Shield giving them false validation.
I apologize for the inconvenience. My name is Stacy & I've just sent you an email to obtain more information about your experience & assist with unresolved issues. I look forward to speaking with you.

We recently purchased a home that came with an AHS warranty. When the plumbing on our well (the only source of water for the property) sprung a leak it represented an emergency. We needed a repair, and we needed it pronto. Couldn't seem to get that through to the representative with the AHS offshore call center. He continued to put us off and indicate that he needed several days to process the request and when I told him that I didn't have several days that didn't seem to make any difference.
Finally, when I threatened a lawsuit, he grudgingly put in an "emergency request". He said that if he could not find a contractor in my area on their approved list within 4 hours that I could find my own provider and they would pay the bill. AHS did not come up with a contractor by the following day and when I contacted them to determine how the contractor that I had located could bill them for their services he presented me with a huge list of information and certifications that my provider would need to give AHS before they could begin work. Impossible to do with any urgency.
I ended up just paying the provider out of my own pocket. This was a true emergency and it would have taken another couple of days for my contractor to assemble the necessary compliance documents and another couple of days for AHS to approve or deny. I didn't have that kind of time available. I even went to the trouble of contacting the local AHS rep who deals with the real estate community and she was even less help that the offshore call center.
I've dealt with AHS before, many years ago and it's evident that they haven't changed. It's pretty clear to me that the goal of AHS is to provide some sense of security to a home buyer without actually providing them with anything tangible in the way of insurance. It appeared that their focus was limited to finding ways to make the process more difficult and time consuming rather than assisting me with a critical claim...and this time it worked for them.
An AHS home warranty is, in my opinion, worthless. When an insurance provider does everything they can possibly do to make the process challenging and to avoid paying out on a policy then I'm forced to conclude that their goal is to collect premiums and not pay out on coverage. Again, not different from my prior experience a number of years ago when I finally got my claim covered when I told them I would sue them in small claims court. I'm not sure if all the providers in the business are similar but AHS is the only one I have experience with. I'd suggest if your realtor suggests that a home warranty be part of your purchase contract that you insist on a different provider. Disappointing. Worthless. A sham designed to collect premiums and fail to pay on claims.
I apologize for the inconvenience we might have caused. Please provide your property address in a private message and I will follow up with you.

VERY SKETCHY! When AHS appointed HVAC tech did the evaluation, the leak was not found, trying to tell me that the R22 was low. When mentioned that the leak was the source of the low R22, he did find the leak!! AHS approved the repair work the next day which was a Friday. AHS tried to reach the HVAC vendor on Friday with no answer so the repair was not scheduled. AHS vendor does not work on weekends so we will have to go without AC until at least Tuesday, a week from the time of the AC repair was called in. This AHS vendor cannot schedule the repair until the following Tuesday. So we will now have to wait 2 full weeks to get a repair complete.
I do not know any professional reliable HVAC company that does not work on weekends, does not have parts available and wants the money before the service is complete. AHS will not send another HVAC for a second opinion, citing that we can take the $585 then hire our own technician. So much for qualified vendors AHS says they hire. When you try to get to a human, AHS does not have anyone available. This is NOT a customer-focused company!!!

It was expensive. I didn't know that the insurance didn't pay for the Freon. We paid 195, and then he said that the air conditioner needed to be painted because it was kind of rusted. But that was gonna be more money out of our pocket.
My husband and I are on a fixed income and everything is so expensive. I thought all of that, the insurance would cover it. But obviously, it doesn't. But the tech from Northwind was very, very professional. He said, “I’m sorry that you didn't know that you had to pay for the Freon.” And he goes, “But that's what it costs, and you're gonna have to pay it out of your pocket.” And I go, “Well, it's not you that's charging us, it's the company that doesn't cover that.” But he was very, very good, and he explained everything really well. I would recommend AHS to a friend, but I wish they would cover more stuff than what we have because that Freon is too much.

When I first filed the claim and called American Home Shield, I had already been made aware of exactly what the problem was because I had had other plumbers look at it. So I was very descriptive with the warranty company as to exactly what the part was. I told them that I didn't wanna go through the expense and the delay in getting it fixed if it's not gonna be covered. So the girl on the phone did research on this. She kept me on hold for seven minutes. Then she came back and said that she had gone on the internet, that she had seen exactly the part that I was talking about and that yes, it was covered. So I went ahead and paid the $75 for the person to come out.
I said to her, "Okay, so nobody's gonna tell me anything different, right?" I didn't want her telling me it's covered and after it's all done, to have the company come back to me and say it's not covered. But essentially, that is what happened. I'm out $75, in my mind, for nothing. The first company came out and the technician looked at it. He took a little bit of time looking at it too. It was an upstairs shower that was leaking downstairs so he looked at both locations. He gave me a sentence and a half at the end and then walked out. He said he would submit his findings to see if it's covered and that was all he said to me during the entire time he was in the house. He didn't tell me what was wrong. I would've appreciated more interaction and more information. He wasn't very personable. I had greeted him at the door and he said hello but that was about it.
I waited a day or so and called American Home Shield but I really had a hard time understanding the person on the phone. She didn't speak English very well. Basically, she was saying that they had no record of the repair or the consultation. Then all she could say was that we had to wait for the report. I asked if she could call me then so that I would not be on the phone for 30 to 40 minutes on hold before they answered but she said they couldn't do that. So I said I'd like to make a formal complaint and that was when she hung up on me mid-sentence.
I waited two days and called back. They still had no record. It was getting ridiculous. It had been three days. But that particular person was very helpful and personable. She had good customer service skills. She said to me, "Oh, let me get your number and I will call you back." That was wonderful. But I waited three days and that lady never did call me back. When American Home Shield finally called back, they said the part was not covered. I told them how the first person I talked to said that that was covered and they said they could send out a second opinion.
Dockside came out a couple of days later. The gentleman looked at the issue and hardly took any time at all. He really quickly said the piece wasn't covered. But this gentleman was very descriptive and personable. He told me exactly what was going on and gave me way more information than the first gentleman. He told me the issue was the drain basket and that it is really common in showers. Because he has been working with the company for a while at another location, I believed him. So I called up the warranty company and said I understood it wasn't covered. But again, they told me the report hadn't been filed yet to give me a yes or no. It was just a couple hours later and they said we had to wait for the report next. A day or so after, the warranty company did contact me and said that unfortunately, the repair was not covered.
I called a couple of other plumbers but Dockside was the cheapest as far as the repair. As a matter of fact, he just left this morning after repairing it. My first impression with the Dockside technician though is that he wasn't taking any COVID precaution. He didn't wear a mask. This morning, he didn't wear a mask either. I'm not exactly okay with that but he seemed like a nice guy and I let him in my house. I've had other contractors come in over the last couple of weeks and one out of the four did not have any PPE on either. But that's kind of our society. Some people are taking it seriously. Others aren't. Had I said something to the Dockside technician, I imagine he probably would have. But I didn't give him a hard time about it.
I'm now into my second year with American Home Shield. The first year was a purchase by the seller so the warranty came with the house. Then I just let it roll over into the second year and I continued with them. But after this experience, I think I won't renew again next time. I'll try and find someone else. I was also a little perturbed that when they renewed, they raised the price without saying anything even though I hadn't filed any claims. I did call them to ask about it and the person on the phone was just like, "It is what it is." You would normally at least expect, "Oh, I'm so sorry, sir," and, "This is why..." But she was like, "Yeah, they have the right to raise it." I said I might cancel and she said, "Well, you can do that." There was no quality customer service training behind it.
I apologize for the inconvenience. My name is Stacy & I've just sent you an email to obtain more information about your experience & assist with unresolved issues. I look forward to speaking with you.

We had Sears Home Warranty earlier. Now we really like American Home Shield better. Recently, the tech from Jim Hubbard Electrical came and fixed a light ballast, one of our kitchen lights. We also had claims on the dishwasher and oven and both went fine.

The guy from Optimum Appliance Repair came to look at what was wrong with my dryer and to order a replacement part. His work was very good, and he's coming back out when the part comes in. He was very professional and very polite. It was very easy to submit the claim to American Home Shield. They’ve been very prompt. I also had a claim that I did with a plumber, and I had to have him come back that same day because something wasn’t totally fixed, but he came right back out and took care of it.

The air conditioner unit wasn’t working and I opened the order online with American Shield. It was straightforward enough to open the claim because you have whatever is covered by your policy. You can open that type of service request for that specific thing and I don’t have to do anything else with that website. The two orders that we opened were exactly the same order for the same problem, just almost a year apart. It was some kinda electronics unit that burned out. Right away, we were told that we were gonna be contacted by a person from the contracting company. Those people texted right away and said that due to COVID, it was gonna probably delay their response. But they gave the times when they could come out and that if it works for me, I should let them know. I told them that it wasn’t gonna work for me with the times they offered. So, a couple days later, they sent me another text saying that they could come out these other times.
I told them what would work and they were on time to come in and do their work. It was the same guy that, the year before, came out and did the work. I wanted to ask him what the actual issue was because it wasn’t explained to me. But it looked like he had to replace the thing that controls the power to the unit. Last time, there was a coil that burned out in it and he showed me that. This time, he didn't say anything but it looked like he replaced it again. He also checked the level of the Freon in the unit and said that I needed some Freon as well. So, he topped it off for us and he did the same thing last time. He did his thing and gave me the receipt for the work completed, which didn't clearly specify what was done. But I didn't care as long as it was working.
I wasn’t inconvenienced in any way, so it didn't affect my operations. It was the first time it got hot here in the area, so it wasn’t terrible but with air conditioner during hot times, it’s important to get it done as soon as possible. We ended up waiting four days for scheduling the appropriate time slot but we dealt with the heat just fine for the few days. If it was in the middle of summer, it probably would be unacceptable to wait that long for another time slot. The whole service was positive and I’m happy that we got it as part of our purchase of this property. It’s definitely a useful policy to have, because as much as you check the property before buying, you don’t know all the little issues.

My AC wasn't cooling our house down one time. We could hear it cutting on then shutting off in the middle of the day usually when it was warm. It would also cut on at night. We submitted a claim to American Home Shield and they sent out ATR Heating and Cooling. The tech from there was very polite and repaired our AC that day. Currently, it's still not cooling our house down but it seems to be doing a little better. Being with AHS has been a good experience so far.

I submitted a claim to American Home Shield online and picked the option to tell them I had issues with a leaking upstairs toilet. The leak went through the floor and warped the ceiling below. I indicated that there was water damage too. There was a hole where the water dripped through. Their contractor Air Pro Master came out to service my claim. I was hoping they would fix the drywall damage but the techs tried to tell me that would be handled by my insurance company. Instead, I ended up doing that myself. I went to Lowe's cut up the drywall and patched it myself. I was disappointed that the ceiling damage wasn't covered as part of my warranty service. Even so, the toilet has been working well and the work Air Pro Master did was great.
Christopher,
Thanks for letting us know everything worked out great for you. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

My dishwasher wasn’t draining and it didn’t complete any of the cycles. I put in my service order and the next day, I had a schedule, which was only four days out because of the holiday. It was very good. It was easy and fast, so I like that. It’s really easy to submit a claim because it’s all online. I just put in a claim and then whoever they contact contacts me to set up an appointment. I’ve had one issue where the people they had picked were bad and they had to pick someone else. But other than that, every time I’ve had to use AHS, they’ve been really helpful.
They bought a whole microwave for me one time because they couldn’t fix the existing one. It’s kinda like insurance. It’s like you pay a whole lot more than you actually get out. But the service is always excellent, and if something breaks, it’s better than having to go out and buy yourself a new one. They either try to fix it or they will replace it for you. I like that part.

There was a leakage in the refrigerator and the ice dispenser didn’t work, and my tenant made the call to American Home Shield. When I signed up for American Home Shield, I added in the name to be on the authorized person to call American Home Shield. But I told my tenant to let me know when they call the warranty company. So that’s what my tenant did for the refrigerator repair. Initially, I looked at a few companies but American Home Shield was referred through a friend of mine. He said it’s pretty convenient and he had less headaches. He would call them up and they would send somebody. I was told that American Home Shield was pretty reputable and that they provide good service. So I tried it out and it's pretty good.

The electric company had came out to do an audit on the equipment and they said the sump pump was behaving erratically and using high amount of current. Kress came out to check that out and they said the sump pump was bad and they replaced it. Everything is working great now. I was very pleased with my experience.
Don,
