    Overall, with Home Shield, we've had really good service and fairly good luck with contractors that have been sent out. We had multiple electrical things like switches, a fan that wasn't working right, and a front light auto timer that had failed, so we just replaced it with a switch. Something got dropped regarding either ordering parts or not getting on the right list. It took quite a long time. But once Kelly Brothers Electric found out about it the second time, it was resolved. We're back up and working, so all is well.

    The only complaint would be that it's very difficult to reach somebody if you call. So, if you have something outside of the selections that are on the website to place an automated call that way, call out like an immediate service, it takes a lot longer to add that information by calling in. If you have a very direct service request that you have that falls into the categories that are provided and you don't need to add anything on to that, an explanation or an additional issue within that, then you're fine on doing it online. Otherwise, you have to call. Both ways you get the service, but one is much awfully quicker and more efficient than the other.

    We had a clog. We have a sink in the garage and The Lindsay Company came out and they did that. We also had a diverter in the bathroom upstairs that wasn't working so they replaced that. I notified American Home Shield about the issues through the website. It was very easy to use. We logged in, we set it up, and then The Lindsay Company was assigned. They texted us that they were assigned and then they called to make an appointment. They gave us a block of like half a day. They were great and they were fast. Everything's been perfect. The repair has been fantastic because we had a big clog. It was leaking in the garage and we couldn't run the water. It's way better now. It's very easy to work with American Home Shield and it's worked out. We have another claim going right now with a fridge. Our freezer broke so they're gonna come replace one of the compressors.

    I file claims with Home Shield online. I like the website. It’s easy to maneuver. Then, they give me the number of the contractor and tell me when they're expected to contact me and if not, to contact them. The contractors always contact me. In all three claims that I've had, the people were professional and accurate with the timeline. I had a dryer claim and True Vine Appliance Repair got the job done. I had to do a follow-up because a light came on but when the tech came back out, he said it was the vent that needed cleaning.

    American Home Shield has helped us over the years and we've found some wonderful people to work with. We always ask for the same garage person 'cause he's a good man and we love him. We trust him in our house. He knows his stuff and his company is really good. When our garage door stopped opening, we called AHS to file the claim. Garage Door Corporation came out and they fixed a spring.

    It was a week of stuff breaking including the garage and the dishwasher. The guy who came in for the dishwasher was great. They had the guy in quickly. He diagnosed it and it was too expensive to fix. So they recommended a new dishwasher, which was fine. We paid extra for an upgrade, the one we wanted. Then I got a call saying that they were gonna have the dishwasher shipped to me. But we didn't know anyone who could put it in. We were actually gonna cancel it and we told them to just send us money for the dishwasher and we'd just go. But they said they couldn't do it.

    The dishwasher was delivered and the person who delivered it was a sweet and great guy. Then we kept calling AHS but we couldn't get a human being. When I got on the phone, I would wait for an hour and a half to two hours. Then when finally someone picked up, they were saying that we would have to talk to a certain department.

    I found this guy to put the dishwasher in. So I wanted to ask AHS to whom I should send the receipt. When I called, there was no one to talk to about the receipt and the disposal of the dishwasher. I tried every phone number I could find on the website. They should make sure that there was someone on the other end and not a computer. It was just so frustrating. My last resort was to post something on their Facebook page.

    American Home Shield is very difficult. We're thinking about changing home warranties because of this fiasco. When things break, we get nervous especially if our refrigerator breaks. We're not gonna have a refrigerator for a month because it'll take over a month for them to get their act together. But the people who come to work on things in our house are wonderful. But the problem is getting ahold of a human being for help and communicating with a human being and not a computer.

    The technician from YAZD was good and they fixed the problem that we had. However, I joined with American Home Shield because I have a rental property. Since we have a tenant, I'd prefer it if American Home Shield had an option that we could fill out the information of the tenant, so the technician can contact the tenant directly, not me. If we will have this option, that will be good. That will be easier for them too. Still, I'm satisfied with their service.

    American Home Shield gives me peace of mind and so far, so good. We have a normal servicer that services our AC unit every year and when he came to do his normal service to turn it on for the summer, it wouldn’t come on. There was an issue and it was diagnosed with having a specific unit that wasn’t working. United Air came out and now, the unit is working fine.

    The claims process was really easy and smooth. I called on not the most convenient of times and AHS got everything set up. The company that they sent to me was in contact with me within minutes. Carolina Air Heating and Cooling came out for an AC issue. The guy found the problem up in the rafters with that system and he replaced the motor. It worked great for about a week or two and then it started getting hot in here. It was blowing air but it wasn't cold. He came back out, did a couple of tests, and filled the refrigerant. It's what I expected with the symptoms and Carolina Air has done a great job.

    The technician from Anytime Lock & Key was wonderful. He rekeyed three locks in this claim. We also had a plumbing leak that we submitted to American Home Shield. We had to pay for the tile on our own but the contractor fixed it. We’re still waiting to hear back about someone coming to replace the sheetrock that was busted. So, we still have a hole in our ceiling from the hole they made for the plumbing leak and we have not heard back. They apparently routed it to the dispatch team, who was supposed to find someone to send out for sheetrock, but they couldn't find anyone and it's been about a week since we last heard anything.

    We also had an air conditioning issue which we paid on our own to replace because the company that AHS sent out was terrible. We wound up going with a company of our own and the Claims Department was to call us back with an amount they were supposed to offer but that never happened and we've called many times. I called back again about the air conditioning and I was figuring out if they were gonna offer us anything or us just totally replacing it instead of keep paying to get it fixed. I still haven't heard anything.

    The pan in the air conditioning unit up in the attic overflowed and water went through the ceiling. James from the contractor, Changing Winds Heating, came out. He was great, personable, knowledgeable, and quick. He cleared the lines and dried everything up. The actual components of the unit itself were not broken but he repaired the issue that was causing the water to remain in the pan.

    The guy from Tom Melton Services was really nice and did a good job. He was in and out. In fact, he went above and beyond because he found a leak that I didn't know was there and he went on and fixed it too. He said he couldn't leave that unfixed. He did more than what I even knew was wrong with what I had. I kept this phone number in my phone directory just in case because if I ever have any plumbing issues, and I have to call American Shield again, I hope they send the same plumber. I'm glad I have American Home Shield because if I would have to pay a plumber, it would have cost me a heck of a lot more.

    For an issue with a clogged toilet, American Home Shield sent us Loyalty Home Services. They came out right away and did a great job. They weren't there very long. They were efficient and clean. If people have an older home, a home warranty is gonna be worth the yearly fee especially if they have old plumbing and old air conditioning units. It'll pay you back if anything major happens and you're gonna be covered. But sometimes I wish American Home Shield would cover more items in the home. Otherwise, it's very smooth, especially with the web interface where you can literally request service in about 30 seconds. You just get on their website and bam, bam, bam. It’s very quick and efficient. Back in the old days to where they are now, American Home Shield has been terrific. They've improved with technology and a lot of stuff. I endorse them.

    There was something wrong with the casing on the motor of my pool pump and ABNation came out a few months ago. They replaced the casing and then, the pipes started leaking. So, they came back and fixed that leak. Recently, they came back because the same pipes were leaking. Right now, that issue has been fixed and ABNation did what they were supposed to do. There was another claim that I had and A.G. Williams came twice. Two weeks ago, I put in another claim for a follow-up for what they were doing and I haven't got a response from that yet. Everything was okay with the contractors. We didn't get it right the first time but they were friendly and fast.

    We weren't getting any cold air coming out of the vents of our AC. My wife submitted the claim online and it was at least a day before we got confirmation that AHS picked it up and got ahold of someone. Then it was another day before Freedom Heating and Cooling came out. They were pretty good and they seemed knowledgeable. I wasn't happy for three days though. It was miserable. But our AC has been fine since the repair. We've been with American Home Shield for 12 years now and they make things easier.

    Phil's Good A/C & Heating has been out three times. Everybody has been really good, but the problem is that my air conditioning hasn't stopped running and my house is 78 degrees. The only reason it’s 78 degrees is ‘cause it has been raining in Houston and it's cooler here in the last couple of days. This has been going on since the middle of May. I live in Houston, Texas and it has been 82 degrees, some days, in our house. Every time we call American Home. Shield, we're on the phone for over an hour waiting to talk to someone, which we expect.

    I called American Home Shield about it and they told me that they were waiting for the report from another contractor and that they would call me back. The tech went around and said that it was blowing 68. I asked him what it was supposed to blow at and hee said that it should be around 58 or 59. So that was 10 degrees off. But AHS closed out this claim after I called them. My last electric bill was $524. And I'm expecting my next electric bill to be probably about that, if not more. So they can't say that the AC is running efficiently if my electric bill is that expensive, and we're keeping it at 76 to 77 degrees.

    AHS was so easy to work with. We had a refrigerator that went out and they were awesome with that. We also had the air conditioning a few years ago go out and they fixed it. That's why we stay with AHS for so long. But this air conditioning thing now isn't getting fixed. This is the first time we've been a little frustrated with the whole process. Their reps and the people that came out were super nice. But when they when they give us answers, it doesn't make sense. They told me that they would give me a call yesterday and no one did.

    The guy from High Priority was very pleasant. He said he didn't have the parts and that he was gonna get the parts. He said that he was going to send pictures of the faucets that we could look which one we wanted. He never sent that, he never contacted us back, and our sink is still leaking all over the floor. We have to put our stuff down to try to chase the water. He said he would be back.

    The plumber was doing a good job at first and then when he came back to put the new one in that they sent out, he found out that it wouldn't work. The threads and everything would not work with the existing faucet. He said that what we have is imported because it's not like the ones in America. So he left. He said that he was gonna try to get the part. But American Home Shield wouldn't pay for the fix and to put the plumbing back in that I had. He said that they want to put something cheap in. The one that we have is not a cheap one. American Home Shield said that if they couldn't fix it, they will replace it. The contractor said that AHS is not gonna pay for that. He said that we could go and buy one and he would come out and put it in and wouldn't charge us anything. I said, "But this isn't the thing. Home Shield is supposed to be replacing my faucet."

    I'm dissatisfied with Home Shield. We called them and the young lady that we spoke with didn't seem to understand what we were saying. We were trying to tell her that the job has not been completed and no one has been back out or tried to contact us. It's been a back and forth thing, and we'd like to get it fixed before more damages are done to our property. The plumbers called us yesterday and we weren't available, so we called them back this morning and found out what the situation is gonna be with this problem that we've got.

    Five Star Plumbing came out and worked on a plumbing issue that I had. The guy who came did a good job as far as wearing a mask and being respectful. He knew his stuff and he cleaned up after himself. But I also had an experience with a plumber from American Home Shield that left grease stains and dirt. One thing that I wish American Home Shield did better is the timeliness of scheduling appointments. This has been the issue in the past. Last summer, my AC went out, and nobody came out for three days. It was 99 degrees every day. And to me, that was a problem. Then you can't call in. When I called for the AC deal where they came out last week, I was on hold for like 40 minutes, and then they hung up on me. So, then I went online and I filed a claim and they said they would be in contact with me. Then that next day, luckily, the AC company had a cancellation. I had called in the morning too and I left a message.

    There's no sense of urgency on American Home Shield. If you're gonna give a customer support number, someone should answer the phone. There are other companies that will say, “There's an extended wait time, so let us call you back.” You're gonna have that option. To be on hold for 40 minutes and then for the call to go dead is unacceptable. When you do a search on the top home warranty companies, American Home Shield comes out second place in almost all of them. So, that had me tempted. I don't wanna go to a different company, but because of the wait time and the lack of customer care or personalization, I’ve considered going to another company.

    American Home Shield was provided to us for the first year. I bought the home and closed on March 13 so I've had them since then. When I submit claims and I get an American speaking person, it’s a cinch and they take care of everything. But if I get someone from a third world country, it can be frustrating. The first time I called about a claim, it took two phone calls until I finally got accomplished because of the language barrier. They had no idea what a dewatering system was. I don't think they understood what I was trying to tell them and I didn’t either. Still, when the water connection from the wall to the tank of the toilet sprung a leak and I had a flood, the contractor replaced it.

    American Home Shield was part of the deal when I bought this house seven years ago. They've helped in with our water heater, AC unit, garage door, annd maybe some minor plumbing things over those seven years. We had an issue with the dishwasher where the hinges didn't work right. It would just fall down when you would open it up. It was an expensive unit. So, the first guy that AHS sent out was in a bad shape. It was like he was gonna die on my kitchen floor with the way he was breathing. And he didn't even fix the hinges but it was better than it was so we just let it go. Then, this other issue happened with our dishwasher. It started in May where the dishwasher wouldn't drain.

    Someone came out and said that I needed a part for the dishwasher and we ordered it. It came and then we had to schedule for someone to come out yet again. They installed the part and they left. We ran it once and the same issue happened. We had to wait again and then they came out and said that it wasn't that part and they wanted to try another part. We ordered that part and it came. Now they're coming tomorrow to put that part in. This has been going on since June.

    The contractors were fine. We had two separate contractors, the first one diagnosed as the drain pump but he clearly misdiagnosed 'cause the second guy came in and installed the drain pump, thinking that it was already diagnosed and probably didn't do any other further troubleshooting but it didn't work. The second guy came out again, then we showed him a video of what was happening, and then he was Googling stuff to figure out what it was. He now thinks it was this other thing, which was delivered. He's gonna install it tomorrow and I'm hopeful that it's gonna work.

    What American Home Shield has done a better job with recently, is that they have self-service on their website. Their customer service has always been somewhat abysmal. The hold times used to be ridiculous. But it improved and it had gotten better. With my water heater claim, it was a fight to get somebody to come out here for the water heater and I had to pay ala carte. But I still recommend a warranty of sorts for the home with friends and family. American Home Shield seems to be okay and it has protected me. If they could work out some of the rough spots, it'd be a lot better for them.

    Trinity came out and checked the air conditioning unit. They were saying that they didn't find anything wrong with it. They told me that I needed an electrician to come out. So he came out and found out what the problem was. There was a shortage in my fuse box that cut my unit off and thee electrician fixed it. I have a house in Georgia that also has American Home Shield. But whoever the company that they had sent out in Georgia had no idea what they were doing. They were able to fix the refrigerator, but they could never fix the stove. It took them about three months to four months. They sent three to four different ones out there every time. It was never the same person. But it's not every time I call AHS that they always have this problem and I've never had a problem with them here in Alabama.

    I have never had a bad experience using a contractor that American Home Shield has provided us and it’s always been in a relatively timely manner. The contractors have always been pretty good. Recently, we had no hot water in our master bathroom shower. The contractor had to come twice. The first time, he came and repaired some things. The next day when my wife went to take a shower, it started out not working so she called them and they came back out. It ended up being a faulty part that we had put on. The showerhead was not allowing the part that he had already replaced to kinda do what it needed to do. He took off the showerhead we had put on, put the original back on and everything went back to working perfectly fine. They were patient and he was consistent with providing a good service two times.

    Having the ability to just call someone to come make a repair or troubleshoot something for my family while I’m away was what interested me in wanting to have a home warranty. I’ve been a customer of American Home Shield going on ten years and every time I’ve had to use them, it’s always been positive. For the most part, the website does everything that I would have wanted it to do but it doesn’t really provide a lot as far as details of what’s actually wrong. They could put a comments block to provide more details of what’s going on.

    The water heater stopped heating. We kept pushing the red button and it would still go bad. Then we called American Home Shield. The tech didn't have to replace the whole heater. He just replaced the elements in the bottom. It worked all right for about a week and then it started breaking again. That was when the tech said that it must be something more than that because everything else was good. So then American Home Shield sent out an electrician and he put in a new breaker and everything is perfect.

    When I called back American Home Shield for the water heater, I had to pay before I could ask for any help. So I paid two extra times the $75. They took off one but then there was one more on there so I had to call my credit card company and tell them that I was disputing it. But the American Home Shield guy would not take it off. I told him I was charged three times and I only had two services. He said that it was not on his bill. But it was on my paperwork. The guy said that he couldn't take it off because the third one was not on his bill. He told me to call my credit card company, so I did. I disputed it and they took it off.

    I go into the computer to submit my claims. But even when I called American Home Shield, they would call back, which I appreciate. I was really panicked with the water heater because I couldn't get anybody to help when I called the second time. That was why I ended up getting charged so much because I couldn't get through to anybody unless I charge. Also, when I called in, I couldn't get anybody because of the COVID. I had to call real early in the morning to get through on the phone. Other than that, I'm really satisfied with American Home Shield.

    AC went out, the company sent out spent less then 10 minutes and told me my compressor was out. I was told I could have a second opinion at no cost If the diagnosis were different. Second company came out told me the compressor was working there was a leak needing repaired. I have two signed and dated receipts with different diagnosis. I have spent 4 hours speaking to different reps and they all told me, "No. They were deemed the same. You have to pay both and use the first company." None of the corporate numbers get you to a rep who can help. I have evidence and reports and the customer service reps that are provided out of country will not help. Ac is still not fixed weeks later and AHS owes me 99$ per agreement for different diagnosis.

    My husband and I own rental property in Texas; one of the properties there is an elderly lady and her sick son. The A/C went out, Texas heat.. triple digits. Service department could not find anyone to go out and that it would be 3 to 4 days before anyone could go out. My husband continued to call; asked for a manager to call us; that was on a Thursday. Today is Monday and we still have not heard from anyone. We were told if it was escalated it would put a four hour window on the request. We did that. Then we were told that since they could not find anyone to go out we could look for our own repair person and call them back. We did only to be hung up on after hours are being on hold.

    The repair person we contacted worked on the unit, got it running enough to keep the tenet comfortable until we could contact AHS. Today the round started all over again. Service person said we could not locate our own repair person; this after days of talking to AHS!!!! We understand people are shorthanded due to COVID-19, but there has to be a better way to get back in touch with people who have assisted you and are familiar with the problem. These people do not care. Today Monday they are saying that they have found someone... this after we have already found someone who has made the visit and know what the problem is... The only way you can get through to AHS is call for new service!!!! Save your time and your money. to

    THIS time it's my a/c again. Last year it took 3 weeks for repair since no technician has authorization to do anything and the company AHS assigns schedules 3 weeks out due to volume (NOT the only a/c company in town and they need to assign more than one). Next was dishwasher and it took almost 2 weeks to repair (same company). Technician had no authority to do repair and then forgot to process the request and as always, after three calls to AHS at 45 min wait time, they resolved it but took technician another week to get here since he needed more parts. THIS time same old song. After AHS recommended a/c service check in March we thought yes to avoid last year issues. 9 July initiated w/o. First avail was 16 July! He showed and said refrigerant is almost empty and suspects a leak but (of course) he has no authorization for a leak test.

    I called Sat since status on AHS online was (technician arrived) and said he was already here! She tried to call company to authorize another company and they're closed she said. I called again THIS Sat and wow, she got someone on the line and they said they promised they'd come Monday. I had a missed call Saturday and it was the company and since they're closed on weekends I called when they opened Monday and they blamed me for not answering the phone, I work! No voice mail etc and soonest is 5-6 days from now and made me feel like they were giving me special service as they're scheduling 3 weeks out. And I have no guarantee the technician will be able to authorize any repair which will make it another 7-10 days for repair.

    I am disgusted and tired of wasting my money and time with AHS. They need better customer contact and timeliness and ability for technicians to authorize repairs vs 'mother may I' for obvious things. 3 weeks from start to finish is unacceptable and they need more than one company in the entire city of Albuquerque for repairs.

    I had a service repair on June 9, 2020. The technician could not do the job because he had to order new 3 parts. We received 2 parts, however we are missing the 3rd part. For the last month I call AHS and Sears everyday and they don't have any schedule for shipping the 3rd part. Each company blames the other part to be responsible. We are in the middle of the summer and I have to throw food on a daily basis. We are very disappointed with the contract we purchased.

    Have been a customer with AHS for the past 10+ years and the quality of service and response has been nothing short of abysmal. Call for service for a leaking dishwasher, technician said it needed parts. Have been waiting for parts for almost 8 weeks and AHS is NOT sure they can get them in by the latest repair date of 7/27.

    Talked with repair dealership and AHS numerous times and told them this has gone on way too long and that I want the dishwasher replaced. AHS told me they would call back and its been 3 weeks and still no return call. Their Customer Service call line, if you can get through at all, usually takes 90+ minutes to get through and this is a short wait period. I will no long deal with this company and have tried to leave a message for them that I WILL NOT renew my service agreement until the dishwasher is repaired. Their only comment is that I owe them $102.00 and does not accept and communications.

    I was in the process of selling the house and naturally, something would start acting up when you'd be getting ready to sell something. The garage door was not opening properly and we had Reliable Garage Doors come out. I told them that I had a deadline because we were closing on the house and I wanted to get that straightened out. So they took care of it. They cleaned the sensors and adjusted the chain. And everything's good.

    I've had American Home Shield since 2011 and the claims submission has improved over the years. It was hard to get ahold of them before. But with the email and all that seems to help things. Once you put a claim in, they assign a person to come out and then they even tell you that the person may be calling you within 24 hours. If not, you can give them a call. I usually did that just because I was working outside the home and had to schedule a time when I could be available when they could be available and that worked out fine. It was easy talking to the contractor because I would explain that I would work out of the house or I'd tell them that I was working until a certain time and we would work it out and everybody was pleasant.

    My Jacuzzi tub does not work. I've filed a claim with Home Shield for it but they have not fixed it. They sent four people out here. The first three had no clue on how to deal with a Jacuzzi tub at all. The fourth guy who came out was an electrician. He was smart enough to figure out how to get access to the motor for the Jacuzzi. He didn't do it because that wasn't his job but he showed me how to get access so that when the next guy would come, I could tell him how to do it. But they closed the claim. So I have a Jacuzzi that doesn't work and they have not fixed it.

    Last week, I sent in another claim for my air conditioner which broke down. AHS sent out a repair guy who said the air conditioner was shot and I needed a new one. But the claim was denied. I had to go buy one and I ended up having to pay $4,000 to the company that American Home Shield sent out and I happened to live near the desert and I needed my AC. The repairman even said that he didn't understand how they declined it. So I'm taking them to Small Claims Court on both issues which are validly covered under the warranty.

    One of my friends suggested that I go with American Home Shield. The home will have ups and downs and something will break so I went with them. The guy who came for the AC looked like he was not experienced and I tried to tell him what the problem was. But he was saying that I had a little less Freon. But it wasn't that. I told him that my AC works then it turns off. When the second guy came, I had the same issue and he changed the capacitor. The AC is working fine now. When I called on Saturday, the technician came on Tuesday. It took an hour and 30 minutes to fix it but the timeframe was okay. I was without an AC but I didn't have any option.     A valve had deteriorated in my shower and after a claim was made for it with American Home Shield, someone from Pacific Drain Services came out. They did the job and they resolved the issue in half an hour. The tech was also wearing a mask. This claim was fine but I had another one a week later that I wasn't very happy about. I had to pay a bunch of extra money.

    This was for my air conditioner. A tech replaced a part then said it needed more Freon or whatever coolant is in there. He said that American Home Shield charged for it and charged me another $80 so I still had to pay $150 just to get my air conditioner looked at. I was told after I paid the $75 originally that American Home Shield takes care of everything so I was a little disappointed where I had to keep paying more money for stuff.

    I was told by my Realtor who bought the home warranty for me that American Home Shield covers everything. It seemed like all I had to do was pay $60, $70 and they would come out and take care of everything. But it's like they don't really take care of everything. They charge a bunch of extra fees in order to take care of things. It's misleading when you think a problem is gonna be taken care of but you end up having to pay much money to do it on top of that. I don't know if I was given wrong information and I probably should have read all the massive paperwork I got about it so that I would have known more. But it seems like they set it up to be one thing but it's not really.

    I called American Home Shield last night about a washing machine that is not working properly. They called MS Appliances and they're gonna call me to schedule. This is the third time they're coming for the same problem but they did good before. First, the guy replaced a latch then he did the same thing where we called him for and he couldn't figure out. Then he came on Monday and found something in the filter. He suggested to clean it up with a special solution that he bought to clean machine inside. Yesterday, we tried to put some clothes to wash and we couldn't open the door and that was the problem before. The contractors are all good. However, they found something was wrong, but it wasn't what was wrong. They did the work, but I'm surprised they can't figure out what's wrong with the machine.

    This was the second time I had the dishwasher fixed. The first time, Pender Enterprises supposedly fixed it and that was the week before Thanksgiving. The same thing was going on then, it was leaking. The guy didn't come back for a couple of weeks and I thought he fixed it. Then a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that water was coming out again on the front and the other side of the wall. Atomic Tech came out and the guy had to pull the dishwasher out and put it on its back or its side. He had to order the new part. When he came back with a new part, a week later or so, he had to pull it out and get it on its side or its back again to replace the part and that took a lot of work.

    The same thing happened with my clothes dryer. Pender Enterprises fixed that too and their guy came back with a reconditioned part. Then it wasn't a couple of months later that it stopped working. Atomic Tech came and fixed the clothes dryer again. They brought a brand new part, not a reconditioned one. So I wouldn't use Pender Enterprises again. The guy was very nice though.

    I had surgery last November 8th and my water heater busted on the 9th. My sister and daughter were here and we couldn't turn it off. I called AHS immediately and their guy just happened to be right in the area. He couldn't do it the next day 'cause that was a Saturday night and then he came on Monday with a brand new water heater. I was really pleased with that. Every time I have called American Home Shield, they've been on top of it immediately so I have no complaints for them at all.

    The initial issue on the air conditioner was it didn't come on. I called the number of AHS and then I put in a service request. The process seemed to be fine. It worked. They said that it had been noted and that I would receive a call from Express air conditioning people that they would contact me and set up a time to come and fix it. The contractors were great.     Our garage door is kind of warped on one side. Like when you're looking outside at the garage door, some of the plastic trim on the door were starting to kind of bend. We were trying to figure out what was going on and the garage door has made some noise in the past and we want to have it checked out.     The guy from MidSouth Electric was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous and the issue with the wiring in the breaker box was resolved. I wasn't there, but he spoke to my husband and explained the issue to him. Overall, I tell all my friends about American Home Shield. I like the service, but at some point, I don't think it's fair that the price goes up every single year. I don't agree with that part at all. There's also no rebate program. For example, if you use it less than five times a year, there should be some kind of rebate you would get back or some kind of savings, whether it's 5% or 10%, on your next premium. I would highly encourage that.

    American Home Shield sent AAA Appliance Doctors for a washing machine issue. It was something with the pump that wasn't pumping out. The tech did a great job. He had to order the part. Unfortunately, because it was so late in the week, he couldn't get it in time and ended up being on Monday, but that was fine. He got it done and all is well.

    I've been very pleased with American Home Shield. The only time it was really aggravating was with the refrigerator. The tech came out to fix it, he fixed part of it and the other party had to order a part. Then they weren't able to come out for like two weeks because there were backlogs. The part came in within a couple of days. It was just hanging out here, but they couldn't get back to me for like two weeks. Then, someone came back. This went on for over a month. The wrong part was ordered because he based it on what was in the system for Sears when there were so many different models. The new guy had to order the part, and it was gonna be another two weeks. It was very aggravating as far as that was concerned, but they got it done and everything's working fine.

    Then with the AC, Billy came out and he added Freon, which cost me $225 along with the $100 service fee. That was fine, but it's still two different temperatures from my big sun porch to the main part of the house for some reason. The biggest complaint is that I'm setting the thermostat on 78 in both places, and it's a very big difference in temperature when you walk from one room to the next. They’re set on the same thermostat and I don't get it. My power bill went from $188 to $400. It didn't make sense. My house seems to be cooling and it's not running all the time. But there's still a difference between the two and the thermostats are within 20 feet of each other diagonally. So, it's very strange.

    American Home Shield's claim process is easy. I have some electrical issue, but to call in right now is kind of crazy. You're on hold forever. But online, you don't get to check all the boxes. I have multiple things, but I don't wanna call for a ballast that is bad in my laundry room and spend $100 on the service fee when I also have two ceiling fans that are problematic. I have a list of electrical issues.

    There needs to be something where you can put in notes or you can be a little bit more specific. Once the contractor calls to schedule the appointment, you can speak to him about there being multiple things, but I don't think they're prepared for that. If it's on the front end, you're able to tell American Home Shield what’s going on and how many different things. It would make it a little bit easier if there was a way to put in a note section. I've recommended American Home Shield to several people over the years. I had it with my old house. There are several people who have bought American Home Shield after I talked to them. I've had no problem recommending even with all the trouble with Sears.

    The AC unit kept trying to run but it would not start and we have a Nest thermostat that was showing that it was trying to cool constantly running but it wouldn't. The temperature in the house was not dropping. Then we got a notice from our power company saying our power usage was way up so that was when we called and made the claim. 5 Star Home came out in about three days and part of that was because of our schedule. They did great and it was about 45 minutes. The guy fixed the unit and the house was cooling.

    The water wasn't coming out in out plumbing. It had a leak in it a then at the bottom, the disposal didn't work. The AHS website was good when I submitted the claim. Then I was told to expect the contractor out in four days. Myers fixed the main part but if I wanted to do anything extra, then that would be on me. As far as the water running and the water hose and the disposal, everything is operational. I just have to replace the kitchen sink because it has a hole in it. But overall, it was a good experience. American Home Shield does quality work.

    I've been very impressed by the service from Home Shield and they’ve been very reliable so far. I submit a claim, they give me a time frame and the date, and normally, the contractor will be out the next day. What they advertise is pretty much what you get when they come in to fix it. A couple of times I have used it, it was very helpful. The tech from Nova HVAC they sent out for my AC claim was very professional. The control switch had worn out so he had to come back a week later and replace it. They scheduled between 8:00 to 12:00 and he showed up between 8:00 and 8:30, which is great timing, and then he was in and out.

    There was some broken pipes that need to be resolved and Sullivan Plumbing did a great job. They were very professional and very nice. They answered all my questions accordingly to the fullest. They were very friendly and courteous. They were knowledgeable and they resolved the issues. The claim took about a week to resolve. Luckily, the residents were self-sufficient and they got by what they needed to do until the issue was rectified. The wait time with American Home Shield sometimes can be out of this world. It would be 30 to 45 minutes or more. But during this pandemic, it's gonna take some time for somebody to get on the phone with everybody else as well.

    When they sent out Billy's AC, I was very dissatisfied and I wish to not do business with them anymore. The issue was that I submitted a ticket to American Home Shield on May 31st. It was a recall and the tech acknowledged that he received it but he overlooked it. I kept going down the list and I kept calling him. I asked him when could he come or at least acknowledge when he could come out here. I worked with him before and he said that since I have AC and a lot of his customers don't, he was gonna take care of them first. I was okay with that because nobody was living in the residence at the time. However, after a month, there was no phone call.

    I had to call American Home Shield three times to call Billy's AC on the phone, but they would never call me back to schedule anything. I was very disappointed in the way that was handled. It was bad business and very unprofessional. I would’ve been more understanding if they have given me a call to say that they received my recall and scheduled something out. But they never called and I was very displeased with that. But any time I talk to somebody, they have an issue, so I highly recommend American Home Shield.

    The first time I called, it was June 29th and the contractor came. He was very responsive. He showed up in less than 12 hours and my issue was resolved. That was when I thought everything was fixed. Last weekend, I started having a problem with the AC. In the middle of the night before Sunday morning, the AC was so loud. We had to shut it down because we were scared it was gonna blow up. In the morning, we turned it back on again. The noise would go down then it would come back again. My neighbor could even hear the noise. The AC shouldn't make that much much noise. I called for the second time but nobody has called. I thought they have 48 hours so I was just gonna wait till the end of the day then I'll call American Home Shield back.     I had a rekey claim with American Home Shield, and there were a few different miscommunication. The first time I scheduled the rekey, the person didn't put it in the system correctly. They put it in for like the day before. So then, we had to reschedule. Then, when it was actually scheduled, they came, they did a great job. They were a little bit late, but that's not a big deal. Then later on after the rekey, we found out that the doorknob pin was gone. So then, the doorknob wasn't staying in place. I contacted them about four times to try to schedule something.

    So then, they came in and we had a couple of one time that they said that they were coming, but then didn't come. They were like, "Oh, there's nothing we can do." I asked how it is gonna be handled. Then, a couple of days went by and they said, "Okay, we can schedule something." They scheduled it but didn't come that day. Then schedule again for yesterday after I pinged them again. They switched out the door, and then it works great now.

    They did get me a new lock without saying, "Well, we don't know what happened. We're not gonna do anything about it." The difficulty is around actually getting that to happen. We were following up for a long time just trying to get in touch with the right people. We couldn't do it online because they automatically charge $75. Even if you click on "this is still an issue," it still charges you $75. So, there are two big actionable items. If there is an issue with something, you could talk to somebody before you're charged for someone to come out. They could also shorten the time windows so it's not like a nine-hour window. A huge time window between 12 and 9 pm was kind of rough. A shorter time frame would be really helpful. I feel like that's very actionable.

    The plumbing contractor had been out for the same problem about four times and it was a leak that was in the ceiling in the kitchen. The last had a second contractor come out after the plumbing repair was effected, and the second contractor didn’t do any drywall repair. And then it leaks again, like, “Oh, God.” One thing that I kinda disagreed with, if one contractor that came out contracted via American Home Shield, the plumber had to cut the ceiling in the overhead. I ended up having to pay a second $75 basic fee to have another contractor repair that. I got it that plumbing guys only do plumbing. They don’t do drywall. But AHS was really helpful in filing claims.

    I had a claim for the icemaker, which Appliance Protection came out for, and I was very happy with their service. But I have three properties with American Home Shield and I have one property where the air condition is not working right now. It took me four days to get an appointment and their contractor came and fixed it but it did not work after a few hours. I've been fighting with them just to come back and fix it. I'm not very happy with that.

    I submit claims with Home Shield online and I usually get an appointment automatically. It's sent by email and text to say the contractor will be coming from this time to this time on this date. I love working through the website. But it would be a very good enhancement to be able to give them feedback about the company that was assigned and in the feedback, give me the opportunity to change contractors if I want to without having to stay on the line because their phone is not being answered. I just submitted a claim for the air condition and I'm not happy with the assigned company's customer service. I have no way of giving feedback that I'm not happy with the way that they are treating me and ask Home Shield to change it so I don't have to wait for four hours on the phone for them.

    We had some bad luck the last two weeks so we had two claims with American Home Shield. One was for the AC and everything went fine with that. It's fixed and up and running. At first we thought the problem had something to do with the thermostat. My husband said, “Oh, we just needed a new thermostat.” So, he got a new thermostat, put it on, and it still didn't work. The problem was actually something disconnected in the mechanism in the main furnace in the garage.

    With American Home Shield, having the claims done online and getting the service out here have been great, but then, getting a hold of somebody in person has been almost impossible. I have a log. One time, I was on hold for an hour trying to get a hold of them. So I'm on the fence. I'm really happy because we got service out here. They fixed the issue, but being able to get a hold of somebody really easily has concerns for me, especially when we had our second claim. Our washing machine melted the belt and it smoked. Getting someone out here was easy. But when the service people leave, then it’s like you're up in the air and you can't get a hold of anybody at all to find out an update on anything. Being able to contact somebody directly to get answers has been very difficult. So I'm not happy with that at all.

    The heating went out on Friday morning and we were 114 degrees in the desert. AHS sent me a telephone number and I called the guy, but he couldn't come out until Tuesday. But then on Monday, he called us and he said he had a cancellation and he was in our area. He asked if it was okay to come and see it then. So I was very pleased with him. Then he went back, ordered the part, and we got it fixed on Tuesday. He was phenomenal. But we were left all weekend. There was nobody that they could send over the weekend. It was pretty awful. We didn't have an AC for four days. They need to have somebody available over the weekend, especially when it’s air conditioning.

    AHS should improve the speed with which they get people out. They use very, very busy companies and sometimes, these busy companies can't come out in time. When you make that call to them, you're gonna wait at least four days before anybody contacts you. I always have the telephone number that they've given me. Sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't. But once I get the people, they're fine and they deal with it. AHS still saves me a lot of money and the warranty is worth it.

    The air conditioning unit quit blowing cold air. All Comfort did an awesome job. The tech was quick to figure out what was the problem and he got it resolved real quick. He was real friendly. It turned out that condensation on the air conditioning unit went into an overflow and that overflow started to fill up. At that level, it will shut it off, so it won't overflow into your house. It turned out that we just needed to clean that out and clean the drain out, and then check out the unit to make sure everything was fine. The tech did all that he could possibly do. He did the job not more than 40 minutes. He was very responsive and very knowledgeable.

    American Home Shield did really good too. It took a little while to get some response in the beginning. I emailed and tried to call. The hardest part was trying to get someone to respond real quick with the claim. When they responded, it took about a day or two for them to assign someone to us. The individual came from about 60 miles away. There is about four air conditioning companies in our community. It would have been quicker if one of them could have been on that list to respond.

    When we purchased the house three years ago, our intention in the beginning was to have the warranty for about a year then we should be able to figure out what the issues were with the home. But we went ahead and kept it just in case, and it paid off. It’s a securing factor knowing that if something does go bad, then there's gonna be some assistance in there.

    I dropped a little bottle as the water was going down into the toilet flush and that clogged it up. The plumber from Waters Edge Plumbing came right out, did what he needed to do, and left. I met him at the door and walked him through the issue. I told him what had happened and that my son had worked on it all day, and that this was to be between him and me and no one else. He had the problem fixed within about 15 minutes.

    We were having a major issue with our air conditioner, and it needed to be replaced. It started running water inside the house. My husband told AHS that I had medical issues and I needed to have someone come out quickly. This was like on a Wednesday and they were not gonna be able to actually come out until next Tuesday. It was the law that if someone was over 65 and had medical issues couldn't get overheated. So he called AHS back and they said that they would try their very best to get by the very next day 'cause we had called in the afternoon. So I just went to a hotel and spent the night there and they all spent the night in the house and it was hot.

    I live here in Phoenix Arizona, had this house built in 2000 and started with the home warranty company at that time within that 20 years we left for a year or so and came back.     Only because of my ConsumerAffairs complaint, was my American Home Shield situation taken care of. Their customer support is so hard to get in contact with that my only remedy was to make the complaint and see if they would contact me. I, without exaggeration, made at least 6 phone calls to try and get compensated for a new refrigerator. I was on hold for two to three hours each time, only to be disconnected each time. I give consumer affairs a 5 star rating and AHS a 3 star and only because I did get paid back for the appliance, Eventually. I was without a refrigerator for about 6 weeks.

    I both love and hate AHS. I can give them a five star rating some times and a zero others. I’ve been a customer for years, many years. I’m not going to get wordy here. But I should because right now I have been on hold with AMERICAN HOME SHIELD for 1 hour and 57 minutes. Took them 2 and a half months to repair my AC a few years ago. I bought a window unit to get by. Most of the time the contractors are pretty good. It’s the HOLD TIME that gets my goat.

    I called them 7 weeks ago to have my refrigerator repaired. I did it online so no phone call necessary. A contractor was here pretty quick and then a week or so later the part came in. All good. It didn’t fix it. That’s ok, stuff happens. Tech came back a day or two later and said he was ordering another part. That’s ok too. So now I'm living in COVID days for about 10 days without a refrigerator. That’s tolerable. So, no word from anybody for another week or so. I can’t get through to AHS because of super excessive hold time. I tried 3 times. Hours on hold. Had to hang up because I have this job thing. I’m starting to get a little PO’d. I called the contractor and he said it was non repairable. But no one ever called to let me know that. I call AHS. I wait on hold for 3 hours....I’m determined now.

    FINALLY....I talk to some sweet girl in the Philippines. BUT....I need to talk to someone in the appliance replacement department! Oh yea, I’ve got this! I just need to hold for a few minutes. I’m gonna make it! I go to lunch with my cell phone stuck in my ear like it has been for the past 3 hours and 15 minutes. I drive to town. I order lunch. I park in the shade to eat. I’ve still got this dang cell phone in my ear! The recording tells me how sorry they are...over and over and over again. I drive the 10 miles Back to my office. By now I’ve been on the phone for almost four hours, but I’m determined. I get out of the car and the call drops.

    I have been defeated but not beat. I get my wife to call the next day. I’ll show them whose boss! I get home that afternoon and she is hot; and not HOT in a good way, she is MAD! At me.... after 3 hours she finally got through and they told her we had been approved for a new fridge. All I had to do was CALL BACK after I bought the new fridge and they would send me a check for up to $2,300. YEA! We won! Or did we? I STILL HAD TO CALL BACK!

    Now remember, I’m on hold with AHS as I write this review and they hung upon me just now (disconnected) after 2 hours and 37 minutes on hold. That’s probably ok because it would have been the wrong department anyway. I just want my check for the replacement of my appliance. I have no recourse but to put my wife back on the phone for the great waiting game. GOD, I hope my marriage can handle it.

    All of this is true except the part about not getting too wordy. I will be glad to write another review if someone from AHS will actually see this, review my case before contacting me, and...just email me...with something that can be done without a phone call! And if you do, please don’t say how sorry y’all are. It’s ok. I just want what you have already approved, my reimbursement for my refrigerator that I went 7 weeks without.

    Two outlets were out in our master bath. The guy from Master Lee's Electrical Services came out and he tested one. He didn't know where it was at. He put in a new outlet and he still couldn't find it. I told him that there was one out on the outside wall so he went out there. There was a GFI out there also. He pulled the box off and there was also a breaker box outside of the house. The outlet was all corroded out there. He said that he was gonna replace the GFI 'cause it could be the culprit too. He then looked at the breakers and saw that there was water getting in there. He couldn't crawl through the attic because it was too tight for him. So he said that they had a little guy that could do it. He put everything back together and nothing worked.

    30 minutes after the guy left the house, I called the manager back and told him that the outlets were working. The light came on and they were working now. But he said that he wasn't gonna close the claim out because he was still concerned as to why the outlet was doing it. He said that there would be a guy coming out, but they couldn't come out there until next week since they were swamped. He would send the same man back because he knew what was going on.

    The same guy came out and he checked the outlets again. Everything was working. He went outside and he wanted to look in the breaker box one more time. So he got in there and he pulled the panel off the front where the breakers were. He started looking at it and said that all the. power was coming in from the alley and was hitting the breaker box. Then it would go to one that was in our garage which had all our breakers for our individual bedrooms and stuff. There was this thing out here too because we didn't have one of those jetted tubs right in the master bath. He said that he was going to separate it because they had put two connections onto one breaker which was not right. He put a new breaker in. So he separated all the breakers and put them on their own individual ground. And we hadn’t had any trouble since.

    Master Lee's Electrical Services did a great job. They didn't have to send somebody over to crawl through the attic. After the guy finally opened up that breaker box out there and looked at it, we saw that it had gotten wet and it was rusting. So, I built a little makeshift plastic container and put it over the top of it. And everything's fine now.

    Both of the ACs were out and the contractor took a week coming out and getting it done. The technician said that on one AC, it was a coil and for the other one, it was a compressor. He changed both and it worked for a day or two and then, it got hot again. He came back out and he did something to the downstairs air conditioner. It's still working not as great but it's cool downstairs. At this very second though, the upstairs air does not work. We still have fans and stuff around the house downstairs and I'm sleeping on the sofa, so I don't have to sleep upstairs and my mom downstairs.

    The technician was denied from coming back out to fix the upstairs air which had something to do with us needing to pay $1,075 for something. They’re saying it's not covered but we need it fixed because it's hot and my mother is 75 and a dialysis patient. They sent it back to authorization again to see if American Home Shield will approve it but we got a letter yesterday saying that it was denied again. It's frustrating because whatever is going on with the air, it now leaks and some of the sheetrock are coming down. We got to pay for that too.

    Texas Plumber was really good and informative. Unfortunately, they couldn't fix the problem. The guy said that the toilet would flush and do everything. But it just wouldn't contain the water in the bowl. The water in the toilet bowl would drop to a very minimum amount. But it was working. They said that it might be a vent that needed to be cleaned and that would have to be done by another company. So, they dropped the claim.

    American Home Shield is really good at getting somebody out here. I just make a phone call to submit a claim. I understand that with the coronavirus and stuff, it takes time and the wait is impossible, but that's okay. I had used them for electrical and for my garage door and that was good. I had to pay the $75 to get the workers out, which was understandable. But now, I'm getting bills from AHS saying that I owe them another 75. I've made multiple calls on it and now they're investigating it and I'm sure it will be resolved. Other than that, I've been very pleased with everything else that American Home Shield has done so far.

    Perfect Temp was sent for our AC unit. The condenser was dirty and their tech cleaned it out pretty thoroughly. Then as far as poor airflow stairs, he said that the nature of the ductwork itself is being too narrow to reach the upper level. That wasn't something that they could take care of in a service call but he did a pretty thorough cleaning and it helped quite a bit. I thought it was a good service call. Pretty simple and straightforward. It's the only time that we've used AHS and it's going well.

They had a fixed date and they took a long time to fix the AC compressor. It took more than a month or so and there was a heatwave of 80 to 85 temperatures.     My neighbor said I may be sorry I went with American Home Shield but I had just called about my washer and although I did have to pay as soon as the repairman came, the service was very quick. I had to wait a few days for the repairman to come. But everything went beautifully and Tarheel Appliance was wonderful. I hadn't used the washer for four days and I explained to the guy what it was doing. But when he went to turn it on, it started right up. So I was out 130 some dollars for the service call but that wasn't his fault and that wasn't Home Shield's fault either. He was great and I was very impressed with the service with Home Shield.

    My neighbor said that maybe the company has changed and I said I would find out. A few weeks ago, I would've highly recommended them but after yesterday and this morning, not so much. I was on the phone all day yesterday, trying to get a hold of them and it was an hour's wait. It was ridiculous and I was very annoyed. They had upped my price for $15 without me knowing and I have it automatically drafted. I even stayed on hold for one hour to see if they would pick up. I thought that an associate had to be available within an hour. I know that because of COVID, everyone is flipping out. But it was an hour's wait and then I got disconnected. All of a sudden, I heard beep, beep, beep.

    There was a feature that said if you would like to be called back, they'll call you back. That's what happened. A guy called me back but then he put me on hold twice. On the second time when he got on, he was just getting ready to tell me why they upped it and then I heard beep, beep, beep. I was cut off one more time. I tried to call him back right away but I was rather disappointed that since we were disconnected, that he himself did not try to call me back. I tried calling again at 7:30 last evening and it was still an hour's wait. I tried to call this morning and it was still an hour's wait. I am dissatisfied. I even googled and the site that I went on said American Home Shield's customer service was not recommended too highly. That was disappointing to hear.

    Initially, the contractor said that it was out of the coolant and so, the first time they came out, they put more coolant in it. Then about a week later, it went out again. So, they came out again. At that point in time, they said that the compressor was shot but they couldn't get an authorization from American Home Shield who had everything they need, from the fact that we need a new compressor. They were telling me they didn't have the initial visit and how much they charged for coolants, which really doesn't matter but that’s something they can figure out after we get this resolved, so I can get an AC. They are supposedly saying that Everyday Heating and Cooling is not submitting things to them, which I know that they are because I've talked to them several times. It's been a month or so that I have been waiting.

    The same issue happened when my water heater busted. I didn't have to wait that long for it however, American Home Shield sent people out who said that they would have to get all the other stuff up to code which was a little bullcrap, because there's no way that the area wasn’t already up to code or else the house wouldn't have been able to be insured. Instead of wanting to pay for my water heater, they were going to charge me double what the water heater was gonna cost. American Home Shield is terrible. I would never recommend it. I've been with them for seven years and I wish I never would have gotten it in the first place. It's a huge ripoff and they're not beneficial at all. I'm paying 60 bucks a month and have just burned that money and thrown it away.

    Dr. Cool came out to fix my air conditioning. It was a good experience. I called American Home Shield to file the claim and I was told to expect the contractors out in the next two days. The repair made things much easier. Since we're using Home Shield, I didn't have to worry about a big bill expense. I knew what I was gonna pay upfront. Home Shield is a good product. It's a good service to have for any homeowner who has appliances because things are gonna break and things are gonna happen in the home. So, knowing that I only had a deductible to pay and I didn't have to worry about the cost was great. American Home Shield’s been around for a long time. I used to have them way back about 20 years ago when I used to live in Bloomington, California and I owned a house. I'd tell others to do it. It's something to look into.

    We had two claims with American Home Shield and the contractors were here at the same time. The track on the trash compactor was broken and it wouldn’t open and close. So the tech from Ramey Appliance replaced the track and it opened. Everything's working great on it. We also had Crown Appliance and they did the instant hot water behind the garbage disposal. Their tech wasn't allowed to remove the garbage disposal to replace the water heater. He said that American Home Shield wouldn't pay for it. So, I had to remove the garbage disposal myself and then reinstall the garbage disposal myself when he was finished. It was a little frustrating that they weren't allowed to do that, but it was easy enough for me to do. Overall, they both did a good job. I like the peace of mind knowing that everything will be taken care of by American Home Shield.

    My air conditioner wasn't doing anything. It wasn't blowing. I said I was gonna have someone come out and look at it. I called AHS. Thermodynamic Technologies came out. It was leaking. He said it was the condensation. He said it was natural. This morning, my temperature was reading 80 degrees. Now, it is 73 degrees upstairs, so it's coming down.

    I called in a claim to AHS. Somehow or another, it got canceled, but I didn't cancel it. Thermodynamics said they didn't cancel it. But, the contractor came out today. He took something off outside. He was upstairs in the attic, 'cause that's the unit that was messed up. He went outside and did some more checks. It was like a small battery box. But why did I pay another $75 for someone to come look at the same part or the same issue? I had tried to explain it to someone on the telephone, and they said they would, but I still got charged. But I was like, whatever I had to do to get my air fixed.

    The contractor that came out was professional, thorough and straight to the point. We had a later appointment, it was supposed to be between 2:30 and 3:30. But when I had spoken with him last week, I said, "My unit's upstairs and it's gonna be in the high 90s.” He was like, "If I get some early, I'll come earlier." He called this morning at 9:30. We were here so we were glad we had him coming.

    We've had two different contractors. The very first one was on our kitchen stove. I wasn't impressed with them because they came out and the tech said, "Well, I gotta go see if we can find the parts for it." Three days went by but I didn't hear anything from anybody. I called Home Shield and they said, "Well, he hasn't even turned anything in to us." It all worked out in the end because as soon as he did his job, then Home Shield was right there to take care of us. The other time, Oaks Heat and Air's tech was wonderful. He was very professional, on time and answered all of our questions.

    Normally, I submit claims online, but I once did it over the phone and it was fantastic. The other night, somebody on my Facebook page said that they had some other one but they had nothing but problems, and asked if anybody knew anybody.     We had a furnace issue and when I submitted the claim, the operator really helped me out. The first time, it only took about 15 minutes. The second time was a lot longer. Then the third time I had to call in, it said that it would be over an hour and they asked if I wanted to have an operator call me when somebody was free so I just opted for that. They called me back in 55 minutes after my first call. I think they were really busy. but they were doing awesomely. The guy from J&J Mechanical came and he was able to figure out it was the blower motor in the furnace. He was really cool.

    I filed a claim and American Home Shield said the contractor had 48 hours but I wanted to make sure it was taken care of. We were going out of town so I didn't wanna wait anymore. I called on the second day to schedule an appointment. Premier Heating Cooling and Refrigeration came out, assessed the situation, and were very informative. They identified that a fuse in the AC had gone out and I needed to replace it. It took them an hour or two to resolve the issue. They didn't have that particular fuse in stock on their van so they had to go out and source it. I've had a home warranty for the last three years and at this point, we're not using it at the same rate which we were and that's the reason I'll cancel it. But American Home Shield was good. I only had the one claim within the one year and I thought they were fine.

    The electricity was not working. The technician had to wait for Pacific Gas to come and shut off the electricity in the house. We waited about three months because of COVID-19. When they fixed the electricity in the living room, the electricity in the kitchen didn't work. When they fixed the electricity in the kitchen, the electricity in the bedroom didn't work. The technician suggested that maybe it was from the breakers. He did change the breakers and it worked perfectly since that day. He was very friendly and professional.     I submit claims with American Home Shield on the phone and the contractors are pretty quick in getting out here. We have three HVAC units and we had a claim for the unit downstairs on our kids' side of the house. Millenial HVAC came out and they were very communicative. I was extremely pleased with them. They worked with it and kinda got it running the first time. But the next day, it quit running. We had them out again and they told us it was probably the compressor but they were not gonna replace it. They told us upfront that they don't get paid very well if it is a compressor and the compressor is gonna cost more than that.

    I was very appreciative of the honesty but we didn't get our equipment fixed. We've never had a problem with American Home Shield in the past. It's been the best insurance we've ever had and we've gotten a lot of good things from them. They've always stood behind what we've had issues with, with the exception of this one. This is the only issue we can't seem to get fixed.

    My dishwasher stopped draining and there was a loud sound that was occurring when I ran it. There wasn't any problem submitting the claim but there seemed to be an issue with American Home Shield's portal. It indicated the company that was going to be doing the work but I didn't hear from them. When I called them, they said that the portal hadn't sent the claim over to them yet. There was a glitch but AHS corrected it. It delayed the initial communication with the technician so the initial trip out was about a week after I placed the claim. The technician came out, assessed it and determined that there was a part that was needed. It was another week and a half before the part came in and they were able to replace it. They handled the claim very well and the dishwasher has been working fine since then. They were professional, timely and communicated well.

    American Home Shield sent Advanced Home Services out for an AC issue. It's like a little cylinder that went bad. They were able to replace it and get it fixed. Also, they had to add a little Freon to my system. They told me everything that they were gonna be doing and told me exactly what it’s gonna be if it was any extra, and what I would have to pay extra. So, I was very pleased with their customer service and how they were very professional in doing their job.

    I've had American Home Shield for over six years now and every time I have put in a claim, it was very easy when I did it online or even if I called them.     We had a problem with the furnace at my rental property so I submitted a claim with AHS. Online at my account at AHS, when I checked, it was completed. So I thought it was fixed. Then a week later, my property management said, “No, it didn't get fixed.” The contractors came in but they didn't fix it. They just opened it and they said the problem was the attic. The contractors didn’t say anything. Luckily, we have two furnaces in that home. I talked to someone at AHS. She said, “No. You should have called our vendor.” But I didn’t have time because it was already one week wasted. So I hired someone. I talked to the manager too. She gave me credit because I had to pay 125 per service call. “Oh, I will waive you next one.” But AHS charged me again, so I had to call the customer service. But that problem was resolved and she was nice. Based on experience with AHS, the vendors have been pretty good, except for that one.

    A-US Air Conditioning did seem to do a pretty good job restoring, repairing and replacing the AC. The unit they put in is nice. It uses R134a. But they didn't finish the job it seemed to me. The fan doesn't blow air through the house. The air conditioning just kind of drifts out of the vents. There's no push behind it. They also said they will install a thermostat and they never did. I've been calling them for two, three weeks now. The guy keeps telling me he'll send somebody over but he never does. I understand some things are beyond American Home Shield's control like the fact that our refrigerant is no longer used. That was one of the reasons why I went with the new air conditioning unit. Every year during the summer for the last three, four years, the air conditioning went out. We hadn't put a refrigerant in and they said there was nothing they could do and they would have to charge a higher price due to the refrigerant used.

    We've been with American Home Shield for 15 years and it's a pretty good deal. I had one problem with it though. When the air conditioning went out last year, I had a spare refrigerator and freezer in my garage, and due to the heat, they failed. They didn't replace or help me with the refrigerator. It was an old refrigerator and I just threw it away.

    My AC stopped working, so R Harris came and helped me fix it. I went online and submitted my claim to American Home Shield. The website is pretty good. The contractor came a couple of days later which is okay. I would have preferred for them to come the next day because under this summer heat, it's hard to stay without an AC. The gentleman who came was very friendly, and he seemed to be knowledgeable and he helped me fix it without any issues.

    Within the first year with American Home Shield, we had two issues happen so far. One of the issues not fixed yet is the water heater. What I realize was that American Home Shield covers the replacement of the water heater. But then, the installer comes with his own list of things. Apart from what American Home Shield is providing money to replace the water heater, they're asking me to pay another $650 for additional work that is not covered by AHS. I have a water heater that is going bad. It needs to be fixed so I just want my replacement of the water heater. I had already paid $100 towards the first service fee.

    It took me a day into the next day to dry clothes where it normally takes two loads for them to dry. I had someone come out. All of a sudden when it was time to wash again the next week, I had the same problem where the drying was taking me all the way into the next day. I called American Home Shield for somebody to come back out. Another guy came out from Sears and now everything is great. He said the dryer needed to be pulled out and set up against the wall because of the core that was connected to go out to where the stuff go out. It should be pulled out but instead, it was crunching it and that’s where all the stuff was staying, which was right in one spot, and that's why the clothes weren't drying. Now, my unit seems to be working again because I just washed again and the clothes dried one time. It was probably about another five minutes on the next dry.

    Submitting claims to American Home Shield is easy. I only had a problem one time where a unit was messed up and we didn't have any heat. A contractor came out and they didn't wanna fix that. I ended up going to somebody else and kept talking to a different supervisor. They finally called me back and said they apologize. They were gonna have it done. Otherwise, I love American Home Shield. I've been referring it to people because I really like it and it's really good. If anything breaks down, I know people will look at it. A bill is paid every month. And if something doesn't break down, you're paying money but you're really not.

    My AC unit had gone out sometime in the middle of the night because it was a little warm when I woke up that Saturday morning. So I called AHS right away and they connected me with the repair people who were able to come out Sunday morning. It was 24 hours from the time I called until the time somebody came out. So that was great.

    I had to call back AHS because it got really hot and to see if somebody could come out on Saturday. They said they had a lot of the repair people don't work on Sunday. They said they could match me with somebody else but that would require them to cancel the work order. So we started another one and they said the worst thing that could happen was that we could get somebody that didn't work until Monday, and then be busy Monday and maybe not have somebody till Tuesday. So I said we would just keep the first work order. It was slightly frustrating but it wasn't a deal breaker. They didn't do anything wrong. But the repair guy that came out was really great. He worked on it for 30 minutes and fixed it. It’s been working great ever since.

    Overall, it was really easy to submit my claims. It only took me a couple minutes. I tried to do it on the website and there was a little glitch. Every time I tried to click on a button and the site timed out. But my internet was spotty at the time and I was having trouble with my router, so it could have been that. So I had to call in, but as soon as I called in, it was very quick.

You use it 'cause you drive your vehicle every day. So I'll see how it goes this year because I have only used them once. I submitted the claim online and the process was fine. Then the plumber from A & S Plumbing was very knowledgeable in everything that he did. The issue I was was a basic thing and he was in and out. He did recommend that I should get a new hot water heater but I was curious about why that wouldn't be covered. I thought it was covered if it was to be recommended that it'd be replaced.     Airmax had to come back twice for my air conditioner. In doing so, the tech fixed the fan on my unit. After he fixed it, it was freezing. So I had to call back in and ask them to come back. A different tech came out and I ended up having to buy Freon. As far as the service with the air conditioning unit, I had no problem with American Home Shield. But I had a problem with them with my refrigerator. I had no problem with the refrigerator people but my problem was the follow up back American Home Shield. I was very disappointed in that because it took me a long time.

    The part on my refrigerator was discontinued. So I had to wait for them to get back to me to tell me what I was supposed to do. That took a few days, which was not explained to me. When they got back to me, they sent me a link that would allow me to pick another refrigerator. That link did not work. So I went back and forth and back and forth trying to get into that link. I had to continue to call American Home Shield. Upon calling American Home Shield, I got put on hold. I got put on hold for two hours and that was very discouraging. When they finally answered me, they gave me to another department, which put me on hold for another two hours. So I was outdone.

    I kept sending back emails trying to get them to correct the link so they sent me the link again. I started with them during the middle of the week and ended up three days later and then over to Monday to get an answer. I got on the phone at 8:00 in the morning and I tried to hold on. Fortunately, a young lady by the name of Shamika picked up. She was super patient and very, very nice. But originally, the gentleman left me a detailed information on my email and just the link on the email didn't work. For some reason, when Shamika checked it out, that link had been disconnected. It kept giving me, “Sorry this is an error.” The refrigerator people did their part but American Home Shield dropped the ball. Had it not been for Shamika, I wouldn't have continued with American Shield at all.

    In the one year I was with AHS, I had two claims. The first one was my refrigerator and the contractor came out and realized that it needed a fan. But they did not have that on the truck because it was a special fan. So within three days, they ordered the fan, it came in and they called me to say the fan came in. Then they came and installed it and my refrigerator is perfect. I did another claim when AC was dripping water. Total Air Care came out and they did whatever they had to do. The tech assessed what the problem was, went back to his van, got his tools, came back and did what he had to do. In 15 minutes, he was done. The leak stopped and my AC has been working ever since.     We have tried to get our refrigerator repaired through this home warranty company for over 2 weeks. The first contractor came out and said he needed to order a part. He never came back. When we called, AHS said they no longer worked with that contractor and would send a new company out. They never came, and did not return 4 phone calls to set an appointment. We called AHS, waited forever for an agent, who apologized and said she would assign the job to another contractor. Never heard another word. There is no place on their website to contact customer service except to call. I have been on hold for 42 minutes as of right now, still cannot get through their customer service line. We have had excellent service from AHS in the past, but something has changed. Now, I would recommend you look elsewhere for your warranty.

    My microwave is covered by a American Home Shield warranty. It's broken. Here is the experience I have had trying to get it repaired. American Home Shield has assigned three vendors thus far. The work order was first assigned to Appliance 911, when I contacted them they told me they did not have enough technicians to remove the appliance and see what parts were needed. So I went back to American Home Shield. The second vendor assigned was Pinnacle Appliance Repair, they replaced parts, but found that this did not fix the problem and left. I called American Home Shield and they stated a new dispatch had to be created to send Pinnacle back to get an estimate for replacement. Pinnacle did not respond, so I called and found that American Home Shield had reassigned the work to Sears.

    Upon contacting Sears they had absolutely no idea what I was referring to and told me I needed to contact American Home Shield. I went back to American Home Shield and they said they would again schedule Sears. The Sears appointment is now scheduled for July 30, 2020. I have not had a functioning microwave for two months. At best, if Sears makes the repairs two weeks from now, on July 30, I will not have had a microwave for two and a half months. I think American Home Shield thinks I will eventually just buy a new microwave and they won't ever have to pay for the repair.

    I had American Home Shield at another home and then I transferred it to this home four years ago. I'm kind of disappointed in them compared to how they used to be years ago. I noticed that they've changed a lot. I'm really not pleased with them ‘cause I had an issue last year with my air conditioner and nobody could find anything. I knew something was going on ‘cause my air wasn’t getting cool and then it just started working. I got the runaround like crazy.

    I had two or three vendors to come out here. AHS was not communicating with vendors that was why some of the vendors failed because they didn't give all the information that the vendors needed. There was one vendor they sent out that never handle the issue they said it was so then they had to assign it to somebody else. AHS needs to be specific in what the issues are before they even send the vendors out and wasting everybody’s time. They've changed their coverage too because we now have to pay for refrigerants and that type of thing. But luckily, I haven't had any major issues or other things that I actually have to keep calling them out here to do.

    Recently, my house wasn't getting cool. I noticed that one of the hose that was connected to the system outside was frozen. When I had spoken to the lady, she told me to make sure to turn the thermostat and stuff off. I did that and it thawed out. When the guy came, he changed the filter, checked the system outside, and he said he didn't see any leak. I noticed that it froze again a week or so ago. I turned it off, just let it thawed out for a day, and turned it back on. I'm not sure what causes the hose to freeze. I would think it was a leak, but the guy said he didn't find any of that.

    The pilot wouldn’t stay lit on the water heater, and apparently the sensor was out. We had to call American Home Shield then somebody from there called Mr. Rooter. Mr. Rooter had to replace the sensor and then they also had to glue the main plate that was in there. Then they ended up having to replace the actual burning burner plate too ‘cause it was bad. Mr. Rooter did a pretty good job with it. Everything has been great and I don't have women complaining about no hot water.

    Seabolt’s Heating and Cooling is always nice to work with. He always answers the phone when I call to ask questions. He's really good about coming out if there's a problem, like when they installed the AC unit, it didn't work and he called to follow up and check. I said it did not work so then he came back. We all stayed far away from each other and then they didn't wear masks, but I didn't feel like they had done anything bad.

    However, I'm not particularly happy with American Home Shield right now. It's been three months and we're still waiting on a microwave. The waiting time depends on the appliance. 40% of the time, it's like that, but 60% of the time, it's excellent and fast. The people who are installing it said that it's American Home Shield but American Home Shield said that it's the people who are installing it. So we're still fighting this battle, but in general, American Home Shield is good.

The only thing is they couldn't fix it so I have submitted a receipt of a new microwave that I installed myself. I got an email a few days later after I submitted the receipt, and American Home Shield is cutting a check over for the amount that they had approved for the replacement. It takes a few days but I don't know if it was sent out yet. I called and I was on the phone for about two hours waiting to talk to somebody but it's different now because of this whole COVID. Worst case scenario, if it’s over a week, then I'll call back.

    We live in an older home and things happen. My husband doesn't know electrical stuff and anything like that. So, it's nice to know that we can call American Home Shield. One of the things our garage door needed wasn't covered, but it is what it is. Also, I had to have my cooktop replaced and the contractor came out and ordered it. When they got here, they said it was not gonna fit because there was this piece of wood in here. That needed to be cut out and the contractor doesn't do any of the carpentry work. So, I had to find somebody to do that. Then, I was supposed to call them back to have them hook it up but my neighbor who happened to be in town said he could do it. If you have somebody that can do it, that’s great but that's not any fault of theirs.

    We had an electrical issue and when the electrician got here, he got on the ladder and all he had to do was flip the switch. Our cleaning people were here and he asked if they cleaned the fans. I said yes and he said that they hit the switch. This was an $800 fan and we thought maybe it was bad but he said that it’s a good fan. The service cost us 75 bucks and it was dumb on our part, but he was very nice and friendly. I wish that AHS wouldn't go up every year but that's business. We recommended them and our neighbors next door signed up for a plan.

    I just had another claim two weeks before. And as soon as that company heard about my issue, they contacted me. On the other hand, InterTech put the warranty contract on the back burner because I had to call them to see when I could get on the schedule. Last year, I had an issue and it took them forever to resolve it. So, I'm not really keen on them as a company. But the individual that they sent was delightful.     A problem that I used to have with American Home Shield is that whenever their contractors would show up, they would need my $75 upfront before they even walk through my door. A lot of them would show up, get the $75 and act like they were checking stuff then leave. For the most part, those contractors were a bunch of crooks. I called a complained about them some time back. Now, AHS charges it to my credit card and they don't let their contractor pick up the money like they used to. I like their current policy to collect the service fee after the job is completed.

    Submitting claims to AHS has been easy. They let me know who they will be sending out. Most recently, my rental house's AC unit wasn't cooling the house. I sent a claim to AHS and their contractor Sub Temp Air Conditioning and Heating came for service. The tech looked at my system and said that if it's over 100 degrees outside, my unit would only run at 80% capacity. So, I could only cool the house 20 to 25 degrees lower than what the temperature outside is. I've had American Home Shield forever. I get insurance for everything and we have five or six accounts with them. I even got my mom, my mother-in-law and several of my friends on it. I've had a pretty good experience with the company and so I continue using their service.

    I've been having trouble with the dryer and I already had American Home Shield come out several times with that. The guy from Sears did the work and then it did the same thing. He changed the same part and another one. The last issue was that it sounded there were shoes in the dryer, like a big noise. I thought it was the bearings and then I had three different things wrong with it. I called AHS and it took forever for me to get them. Sometimes I wait on hold for an hour on the phone. I talked to different reps. I had to keep calling back. They told me when the appointment would be but it never was.

    I did without the dryer for two months. I hung stuff outside. I also had to go to the washateria during that time. The same thing with my washer. I had to go to the washateria in December. I have five people in the household and it cost a fortune to wash for that long. Now, the little guy from Legendary Service who came did excellent work. He was sweet, organized, and very helpful. He worked on my washer but it was my dryer that was replaced. It took a while to get it but I then I did.

    Then it was a month exactly on the 25th that it was delivered and it went out. It's still under warranty. I called American Home Shield to tell them that and the guy said that I gotta pay $100 service fee. I told him that it was 30 days that day that I got it and I won't pay that amount. I called back and got another representative and he said to call Whirlpool and I shouldn't have to pay anything so I did. They're gonna come out next week to fix it. I don't know what's wrong. The light comes on in the dryer but every dial I put it on doesn't work. It's just blank.

    AHS is a good company. You pay $200 and then they come out but it takes forever to get them there. You're gonna be stuck without things for a long time. I had a hot water tank that they replaced but I stayed without water for over 14 days. I had to wash my dishes with a hose outside. I also had to go to people's houses to bathe.

    The contractor came out and they said that they had to recontact Home Shield to see what needs to be done with my bathroom fan. I'm still waiting on someone to recontact me to find out exactly what's gonna happen. The contractor stated that the one that was installed wasn't supposed to be in the bathroom. He had to get confirmation to find out if they were gonna replace it or what was gonna happen with my request. I was never recontacted and it's been at least a few months. This is the first time with this contractor and I've never had this issue before with Home Shield. Most of the contractors have always been pretty good and responsive in getting things fixed.

    We got latched on American Home Shield when we bought the house. I would've preferred to choose my own but in a situation like warranties, you never actually wanna use them. So, I'm glad they weren't terrible. I called them up on a whim as I was personally exploring options to fix the thing myself and then, at the back of my mind, I remembered that this was free. The worst that could happen was that AHS was gonna give me some runaround. The interactions with them were short and sweet. I told them I had a problem with my system and they said they were sending a guy.

    The contractor communicated a lot and worked around our schedule. They were quick. It was one of those deals where it was an insurance-handled situation and I didn't even know who was going to be sent out but as soon as they got on the call, they were on the ball. So, customer service-wise, they were top-notch. There was a young girl that was in charge of the desk and she was my main contact for every call. They couldn't get me a service for weeks out, which makes sense because of the heat but I got a call one evening saying that their lead tech finished up early on a job and was able to let me in. So, it was within days instead of weeks, with the heat coming and all that.

    They came out and took a survey of what was going on. They ended up fixing the problem within a few minutes, which was shocking. But even with that, they went through a preliminary check and gave me my money's worth. They went through and discovered a couple of things that could be fixed. They suggested a couple of filter alterations that I could do. They didn't necessarily say that I had to get my service through them to have the filter changed but with all the expenses going on, I went with them and they scheduled another service. A couple of days later, the guy came out and made some modifications on the device. He put a new filter in and since then, it has worked better than it ever has.

    I had a service request with American Home Shield that I did online. I had no problem with the service request, although they need to provide an option where you can type in the problem as opposed to selecting from their own little menu that they provide, which is kinda limited. The gentleman from the company that came out was very professional. He did what he said he was gonna do. He looked at the system and told me what was wrong. He put a new capacitor in, wherein I've had another company come out and say that I needed Freon. He said my Freon levels were fine. He turned it on, and it cooled the room like it's supposed to.

    In the last year, I've used about five American Home Shield contractors, and each one has come out and done the job. I've had no problem with any of them. One thing that has stuck in my closet is when I had a service call and the contractor came out and said, “Mr. **, what you’re asking for is not warrantied so we can't do any work.” And I wasn't refunded my funds that are required to have a technician come out. He came out, didn't do any work because it wasn't covered, but still, American Home Shield charged me for it. Also, this may be to no fault of their own and it may be due to the COVID situation, but when I tried to reach them via phone, I have been on hold for as long as an hour. If you're trying to discuss payment, they pick right up. But if you’re trying to discuss a problem that you're having, then, you tend to be on hold for quite a long time.

    My initial service call was a horrible experience. I was on hold for three hours and I literally stayed on hold because my AC went out. AHS could not get me connected with anyone. Once I got a chance to speak to the representative, they referred my claim out. Also, the individuals did not get back with me until three weeks later.

    Then, whenever I started my dishwasher or whenever I had a large amount of water draining at one time or whenever I ran my garbage disposal, there was a large puddle of water under my kitchen sink. I called American Home Shield and I went through a series of prompts, but I ended up speaking with a live person. The representative was very helpful, prompt, and professional. I appreciated him.     I had an AC problem then I filed the claim online. Using the AHS website was easy and having someone to come out to our home was fairly quick. It took longer for them to come to fix it than to assess it. I might have called them on a Wednesday and they came Friday. I needed a whole new AC unit and my house wiring was older than the new AC unit so I had to pay for the wiring. When AHS called to tell me that everything was covered except for the updating of the wiring, the lady told me that it was gonna be 200. But when the guy was done, it was 350. I was a little bit shocked there. I tried to call somebody and see if that was something that AHS knew about or was that supposed to happen, but they told me I was gonna be on hold for an hour and 15 minutes. That was not good. I just paid the 350.

    The contractors that came out were good. They got here on time and they fixed my air conditioner. We've had three issues. It was a switch, the capacitor and then our damper motor had to be replaced. We're still waiting for the motor for the damper, but it's because of all the shipping is behind these days. I like that I can do most things online with AHS. It's just that if I have a big problem that I need help with, it's hard to get anybody on the phone. Also, the plumbers take too long to get here. But I like American Home Shield.

    The spring on the motor part broke and the garage door was half up and half down. The garage door had to be manually put down until the guy from Hometown Garage Doors came. We don't have a lot of garage door opener repair people around here and he came from Oklahoma City. He called me the day before to ask me a good time to come and then, whenever he asked me what it was doing and I told him, he said that he knew exactly what he needed to bring with him. He said he would need to run by the shop and get that. So, when he came down the next day, he said that it was exactly what I described to him and he fixed it. I was impressed with him.

    I like that whenever something breaks down, I can call American Home Shield and in a matter of a few minutes, I usually have it saying that they've already assigned the contractor. The garage door didn't break until 6 o'clock in the evening so the next morning, he contacted me and now, it's fine. I counted the other day that we've had six claims and I have been an advocate to other people about AHS. I had a friend who got back from vacation and in just a few hours, they noticed that the freezer went out. Luckily for her, it was under the manufacturer warranty but there were several of them saying that if it happened to them, it would be horrible. I said that it’s the one thing I like about American Home Shield. You call them and they'll come take care of it and fix it.

    Everything has been great. A friend of mine that I had told about American Home Shield was telling me that he had looked it up and on the heating and air conditioning unit, he said that AHS doesn't replace it if they can't fix it. And I said that I’m pretty sure it does. He said that he’ll look into that because he was thinking that that would definitely be worth it if your heating and air unit ever went out. He said that they'll just pay up to $1,500 on it and I told him that there are different deductibles. But I haven't called to check. He just told me that the other day.

    We purchased AHS last year. We have a brand new house, but it's already five years old so the original warranty had expired.     Dempsey Oil's service was excellent. They have two professionals that I've worked with and both of them were stellar. The only issue I really had was there were two calls for the same item and it wasn't a call that I've made. It was a second call that AHS had put in the database with a different tagline. It’s furnace and it’s boiler and they made a second item for boiler. They wanted to charge me another $125 ‘cause it looked like I had a third call at the time. I explained to them that there was no other call and they were good about fixing it.

    We have no issues with submitting claims with AHS. Our recent claim regarding our plumbing went well too. However, we have an outstanding issue right now on an HVAC system and they’ve used at least the same contractor the last two times. It's still outstanding, which is annoying, so not great there. Also, there's some turnaround time metrics that they're looking at. So this most recent situation, which happened yesterday, this is for a second home, but we won't be there until August 1st. The rep told us we need to cancel the request and then re-request it a couple of days in advance. My response to her was, “Last time, when you scheduled with them, it took several days.” They weren't available within two days. So that was concerning. They're not the best in terms of their customer service.

    T & J Investments did a good service. But I was very disappointed with Jaeger Electric. I had a ceiling fan that had been installed. The first day that the contractor had installed it, it was working. But for some reason, after it got turned off, it stopped working. I was not able to get it working with the remote and it wasn't working through the switch. When I first called American Home Shield, they sent out a guy with Jaeger Electric. He came in and gave me 10 minute max. He looked at the fan, took it down, and took my sensor out and my remote. He told me he would need to contact American Home Shield and get an approval for the replacement of the fan and that they would be in touch. But he was in a hurry.

    Then I got an email from American Home Shield that the job had been completed. I called and complained. This guy didn't even give me the time of day to figure out what the heck was going on. So then they called T & J and the guy immediately knew what the problem was with the fan. He installed a new switch and my fan is working like a charm.

    I’ve had American Home Shield's service many years back. Now that I have American Home Shield again, I don't know where they're picking up these people to do their repairs and to fulfill customer needs. I had a great job done for the garbage disposal and the ceiling fan was also a great job after I complained. I had a claim for my washing machine and I paid American Home Shield around the middle of June and I got a call from Appliance Repair Experts. They came out on the 26th of June and the guy looked at my washing machine. He completely messed up the setting on it. He kept turning it off, turning it on, opening up the lid, and it's one of those that has all electrical up on top. I told him exactly what was wrong with it. I told him to let the cycle run so that he could see and hear what was going on with my washing machine.

    The guy convinced himself that it was best for him to wait. But he knew nothing about what the hell was going on. He said he was gonna get back to American Home Shield about ordering parts. The washing machine needed a new transmission. He told me it would be five to seven days before they call us and come back. He said he would make another appointment to service our washing machine again. I was okay with that.

    I waited 10 days but I didn't get a call from anybody. I called the company and they were closed until the 20th for COVID. Then I got the email from American Home Shield saying my work order was complete. I was on the phone yesterday for an hour and a half waiting for some agent at American Home Shield to answer the call. I didn't wanna hang up because I knew I wouldn't be able to get them again. I called the appliance repair people before I made the phone call to American Home Shield and they said they requested approval for the parts. They said the parts were backordered and American Home Shield closed out my order.

    When I finally got ahold of American Home Shield yesterday, I had such a bad connection, but the rep said they would call Appliance Repair Experts. He put me on hold for about 10 minutes. He came back on the phone and said, "I've opened up a new order. I've opened up your order for your washing machine to be repaired. They will be calling you." But how much longer am I gonna have to wait? I have received lousy, lousy, lousy service from American Home Shield. I am disappointed with how they treat their customers and the lack of concern about their customer needs.

    We're going through a hard time right now. But there's gotta be a way that American Home Shield can verbally follow up with their paying customers to find out has their service been done. Everything is done by phone and I understand a lot of people are working from home. But they're being paid for a service that they're not providing in a due diligent time. It is horrible.

    My dishwasher wasn't emptying and after I called American Home Shield, they assigned someone to me. The assigned contractor called me within 24 hours, and said they would be here the following day. She was here at 8 o'clock that morning and she was very good. She took care of the issue and I have not had a problem with the dishwasher since she came. However, some of the contractors are not good and they don't solve the problem. I have to recall them and the problem is American Home Shield will send them back every time. I then tell them to send me a new contractor since I don't want that contractor and so far, I have not had a problem with American Home Shield.

    I had company and they said that it was hot in my house. So, I said that I would check and make sure nothing was wrong. I called American Home Shield to have somebody come look at my AC and make sure that it was working correctly. The contractor didn’t find anything wrong with the AC and it's doing what it's supposed to do. The guy just said that Texas heat is hot and he explained to me that my air conditioner is made to only get 20 degrees cooler than it is from the outside. The other thing he said is that my unit is kinda small for my house. Before the AC. I had a claim for garbage disposal. It wasn't working so I called AHS and the technician ended up replacing it. I've had a few claims with AHS and I haven't had any issues with any of them.

    My daughter filled out a claim form online and submitted it to American Home Shield regarding our refrigerator issue. Somebody from there responded and they sent Omega Force Appliance Repair out to fix the issue. So far, she has had no trouble when she submitted her claim when her refrigerator, ice dispenser and water dispenser stopped working. We've been very satisfied with their warranty on the house we own together. AHS has a very good warranty. It has come in handy and given us comfort.     Knock Out Pools originally came out to replace my pump seal. Then I called the tech back three days later 'cause it was producing chlorine at 100% and I couldn't drop it down to 60% like it was supposed to do. The technician came out and tried to do it, and it wouldn't do it either. So, he said that the circuit board was bad and he had to order one. He also said that he had to get approval from American Home Shield. The technician has been out here several times. He's patient and really friendly. We've had American Home Shield ever since we moved in a little over four years ago and so far, I'm very pleased with them.

    For electrical claims, I have no problems with American Home Shield. For the appliances, I'm thinking of not renewing my warranty with them and then I will go to another warranty company. I don't know what they cover as far as the appliances. I read a lot of negative feedback about American Home Shield. And I have a very bad experience with American Home Shield's coverage. I am blind with my coverage because when I bought the house, it was my agent who bought it for me and then everything is not covered.

    I had a heart attack calling everybody because I had a gas leak. The first company who was contracted with American Home Shield wanted me to wait for like more than a week to fix it. They came back and forth. They didn't have anything on their hands to replace it right away or to check it right away. It was about the safety of the house. What if there was burning? I was very frustrated. My house was smelling. I was not able to shower. I was not able to cook. I was living in the house with a gas leak.

    The company that they sent checked and there was a gas leak. They did not fix it because they didn't have the materials to fix it. It was Thursday. Then they didn't have anybody in the weekend. So I had to wait on Monday. I was begging the resolution team because this is a health safety issue. It's fixed now but that was after almost two weeks. I had to go to my neighbor to take a shower. I never cooked. I went outside with my son to eat. It was really a nightmare. The contractor didn't return my calls. I kept calling them hundred times.

    I have had American Home Shield for a year. I had received it originally through the purchase of my house. I had negotiated for this because of the AC looking aged. It also looked damaged on the corners from the previous owner's pets. I had illustrated my concern with american home shield when getting my warranty. That there was previous damage from the owner before. However they responded no concern here. You are still covered. I went on with my enjoyment of my new house my wife and me in joy. A few months ago my ac went out. I called, paid the 75 just for the man to replace a fuse and leave. Unfortunately, I wasn't home as I would have had a issue because fuses are a preventive from shorting the whole system. Something had to of caused the issue. However, it was working. Wife was happy so I was happy.

    9 days ago my ac went again. I pay the 75. 5 days later someone comes out and states it is the condenser fan. The next day I get emailed that they are getting a second opinion. That person comes stating that the coils are exposed because of the previous damage, that by replacing the condenser fan it still won't be a efficient unit. Furthermore, asking for a replacement of the unit. I get then a email the next day saying there are limitations to my plan and need to call. I call and they tell me they will not cover the unit because of the coil damage. That is insane, the damage to the ac is the reason I got the warranty originally. I stated this to them when I bought the house. They were fully aware of this and still said I was covered. Just to wait until the day it fails to use that as the excuse as the reason they won't approve the replacement.

    Do not trust these people. They are dark and shady. Customer service is downright despicable. They made me wait 5 days in 90 + degree heat with a wife, baby, and disabled child that is just downright heartless. I have never felt so cheated by a company. Please listen to me and don't go down the same road I did. Now I have no ac and my family is suffering.

    I filed a claim with American Home Shield (AHS) on June 21, 2020. I had a leaking water heater and my tenant called a plumber who came out and said that the water regulator was bad and needed to be replaced. The water regulator was making the water pressure too high in the house which was causing the leak on the water heater. I told my tenant that I would call my home warranty. I filed a claim and the next day a plumber came out. I called that plumber and told him what the previous plumber had said. He inspected the issues and agreed with the first plumber. He told me that he would have to call my home warranty for approval.

    Later that day I received a call from AHS letting me know that my claim had been denied. They told me that high water pressure was not covered. I told the rep that I had reviewed my contract and that it specifically stated water regulators. I told the rep that water regulators regulate the pressure of the water. He said he would have to call the technician (plumber) for more information. FOUR weeks later, here I am...calling every other day, waiting up to an hour and a half to speak to a AHS rep who keep telling me that my claim has been denied. After arguing with them and asking them to read ALL the notes they tell me they haven't been able to get a hold of the plumber and that they've left him messages. They tell me that they'll send a message to contract relations about this plumber and that they've escalated my claim. This, I have learned, means absolutely NOTHING!

    The water heater continues to leak causing secondary damage. I've tried communicating with them via instant messenger and get the exact same response. "I've left the technician a message, have sent our contract relations a message and we'll get back to you within 24-48 hours." I feel as if I'm at their mercy. I've already paid my service call fee of $100 and my monthly installment payment and they really don't care. Today I waited 1.5 hours and spoke to "John." He put me on hold and then the line mysteriously disconnected. I called back and spoke to "Elijah" who put me on hold and came back and said that she had spoken to the technician who said he couldn't talk to her right now and hung up on her. She said she would call him again later.

    Today I had to hire a plumber who came out and replaced the regulator and fixed the water heater. I had no choice...IT'S BEEN FOUR WEEKS!!!! I told Elijah that I needed to hire a plumber and she advised against it saying that they wouldn't cover it if it's through an unapproved vendor. I asked her how long should I wait for AHS to do something? Another month? Two months? How long? She apologized and said her hands were tied. In addition to this post, I am contacting the California Department of Insurance (CDI)---I happen to be a fraud investigator for the CDI, the Department of Real Estate to file an advisory on home warranty plans and other social media platforms. THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST!!!!

    We filed a claim on our leaking water heater with AHS. They sent out their plumber. The technician agreed the WH needed to be replaced but then proceeded to write up the diagnosis as water damage caused by a leaking roof. We have lived in our home 15 years and have never had a roof leak. AHS immediately denied the claim. The authorizations dept individual I spoke with refused to allow a second opinion from an independent licensed plumber that I agreed to pay for.

    I ended up hiring a qualified plumber who replaced my WH at my expense. He was shocked when I told him the previous plumber’s diagnosis of the cause of the WH failure. He said there was absolutely no evidence of a leak. He even wrote it in his repair report. The plumber that replaced the water heater provided pictures to prove there was no leak in addition to his report indicating such. I am not asking for something I am not entitled to, only something that I have paid for and am owed under the terms of my contract. It is impossible to speak with someone at American Home Shield unless you have hours to spend on the phone, most of the time only to be transferred to another department to again wait.

    It's an ok company for servicing your systems and appliances. They are really shady when it comes to replacing an item. You will get the run around for weeks if you get any customer service at all. They will fix an item 5 to 6 times a year. I have had my washer and dryer fixed at least 5 times combined paying $75 dollar service charge each time. Finally after 3 return calls on my washer I overhear the Tech who put the agent on speaker so I could hear, attempted to be coerced into fixing the washer while he is clearly telling her the washer needs to be replaced. That was a week and a half ago. Minus a few service charges and paid membership for 13 years. 13 years! They should be giving me 3 washers.

    It’s been 3 months and our dishwasher is still not fixed. Contractor is also puzzled by AHS response recently as they are not responding to them as well. If you try to contact AHS the average waiting time is 3-4 hrs and you have to just hung up. I am not sure what is going on with the company.

    7/9/202 I put in for a service call for my AC, and I actually called them. Agent was nice and I had my appointment with a contractor. He was nice and said it was my cooling coil, he would talk to the AHS, order the part in which he did and call me to replace the coil and it would be done by Wednesday or Thursday the next week. It's been 114-115 out here and I am older with a person that does chemo. I have called so many times, put on hold, hung up on, told misinformation, still waiting for a supervisor to call me. 8 days and nothing yet, last night I reached out again and talked to ALVIN and she promised me she would call me this morning NOTHING.

    The AC contractor told me Monday when I called him that the REP. said it was too soon because my policy kicked in almost 2 weeks ago, this confused me. When I called him again he repeated the same thing and said they denied my claim. He has the part but authorization isn't doing anything and it's so hot in my house. Getting ready to cancel this policy. AHS said it a pre-existing condition but hasn't contacted me at all. Poor service. Run.

    Please read reviews before going with this company. We have had a malfunctioning dishwasher (leak/ won't turn on) for 70 business days. Before you purchase AHS be sure to try their "live chat" button on their website, which they claim works but is actually just an icon without a hyperlink. Also, please try calling their service line for existing claims to see how long you will wait (1 hr min each time for me), as well as how poor the connection is between you and the service rep. If you get hung up on after asking them for their name or for a supervisor, don't be surprised, that has happened at least 4 times for me.

    Some other important things to note- they don't have an email address, so if you want to document your communication or send this written information, that won't be an option. They will close claims that shouldn't be closed, without speaking with you. They will promise to return your call, but they won't. And when they finally say that you will be connected to a supervisor, what they actually mean is that they will place on hold long enough for you to give up, and will then transfer you to another operator who will then place you on another hold which will connect you to the Parts Department.

    Aside from poor or lack of communication, they will make false claims- like that you have to wait for "SR Tech" to look at your appliance since the previous tech couldn't fix it. Then, after waiting an extra week for the more knowledgeable person to be available, they will send the same individual who was unable to fix it in the first place. It is almost funny how bad our experience has been. I wish I could say this was something we experienced only once with them, but it has been our entire experience (10 phone calls, 3 service home visits).

    AHS has sent a subcontractor out 4 times now without resolution. What will it take to get the appliance replaced. They ask for type appliance, brand type and model number yet they sent a unqualified tech with a 4 hour window. There is no way to contact AHS for problems outside the 1 hour wait on their various 800 numbers. I have asked for a callback on their online request form but no response. They are quick to pass you off to a tech or the contractor who has no authorization. I am very very frustrated to be without a fridge after changing 3 parts and 4 visits in July 100 degrees in northern California. Get it right ASAP AHS. Ps. you have my contact info.

    This is the 2nd time I've contacted AHS to fix an issue and been told by the contractor that the service "is not covered". They basically charge a service fee to have someone come out to your home to give a quote that would be free if you just contacted the company directly. For this particular service, I called because I get no airflow at all in one of the bedrooms in my home (purchased last September). No one contacted me to set up the appointment. A message was left on my phone late at night that someone would be out the next day but the time wasn't good for me, I couldn't be home due to work. I called first thing the next morning and had to leave a message, no one called back. The technician called about 30 mins prior to my appointment time to say he was on the way and I told him I couldn't be home and that I tried to reschedule with his office but no one answered or returned my call.

    I finally reached someone late in the afternoon to be told that they don't set appointments, they route and you just have to make due with their time. They couldn't reset the appointment on the phone but told me they would attempt to schedule on a Friday (the only day I can reliably be home all day). They never contacted me to reset the appointment, but I got a text message on Friday (today) to say someone was headed to my house. Luckily I was home.

    The tech (who was pretty nice while he was here) showed up and looked at my ductwork only to, as always, say the fix wasn't covered and the whole ducting system needed to be replaced because it wasn't installed properly when the house was built, nothing could be done to fix the airflow problems but he could email me a quote for the work later tonight. The guy was nice, but I wonder about whether or not he was being truthful because this seems to be the response of any contractor who comes out to look at any system.

    I called AHS to try to find out what exactly is covered because every time I use them I pay for someone to tell me they have to quote work not covered by the warranty and after holding for over an hour some person in whatever country reads off of a piece of paper and says "I'm sorry" to every question asked, then they read me the contract that I'm looking at and which says nowhere that the issue isn't covered. They claim they'll have a supervisor contact me but since no one has ever contacted me if I have an issue I am not holding my breath.

    There is no good way to contact them on the website. The fees are exponential for nothing but to get a quote because it seems nothing at all is actually covered. Terrible customer service. Totally not worth the money. They don't actually cover anything at all. They use no-name companies with terrible reviews to do work. DO NOT BUY A HOME WARRANTY FROM THESE PEOPLE!! RUN RUN AWAY!!

    I put in a claim on 23 June 20 about my A/C not working/cooling. The first company could not get to us soon enough so I called back to get someone else. They gave me another company who came out and said the the unit had to be replaced. No longer parts available to fix the unit. I never received a status report from AHS so I called only to be on hold for over an hour each time. Finally I was told that the company never put in his report, so the agent call and emailed the company and then closed out the order. They put in another work order so that someone else could come out and the company told us that AHS had sent them out for a second opinion. I checked for the status of this company and then called, now we were told that they were trying to find replacement parts.

    We are still waiting as of the 23rd of June. Each time I call I get a different answer about the status of getting the system fixed. I call everday 5am in the morning till late at night still waiting over an hour and getting different answers but no resolve. One time I was able to talk to the resolution team and spoke with an agent name Tammy, she was very rude and nasty. When I explained to her that we had been without air since the 23rd of June she told me that I don't need to tell her how hot it is because where she lives is also a hot state. "RUDE". She has air and we haven't had air since the 23rd of June. She told me that she was the approving person and once they find the part then she will have it go to purchasing for the AC company to fix it. She also told me that I would have to pay almost $900.00 out of pocket for the modification and freon, so that when they find the coils it can be altered to fix my unit.

    That's not what the contract states, I have reported this and have asked for the calls to be escalated to a supervisor and have been told that there is no one available. Today is the 17th of July and still my claim status in the computer is as follows: (Authorization under review). I received no updates, no calls and every time I call no one seems to be able to help. This makes no sense, the temps in GA have been in the high 80-to 90 plus. They have not offered any resolve at all.     Stacy called me and made sure my issue was addressed and he listened to me. Whoever he is, he needs a raise. I don’t like what I experienced but I’m going to change my rating specifically because of Stacy. I have ran into so many roadblocks with American Home Shield like a 3 hour wait time. Stacy took care of the problem, he took ownership for the company, but more importantly he made sure he was empathetic and understood my experience. He took me from being very upset with American Home Shield to being happy that this person called me addressed the issues. Now things have been resolved and I thank them. I will continue to use AHS for my multiple properties.

    I submitted a service request regarding my Washer on June 18th and still on July 17th I do not have my issue resolved. I called back into Home Shield after the initial contractor assigned called me to advise that my initial week long wait would b e extended another week due to their workload. I was assigned another contractor who made an appointment but called to say my appt would be delayed due to technician needing to take Covid test to which I understood and waiting for someone else to be available. Technician came out approximately 6 July and advised after his visit that he needed to come back with another technician to breakdown as he needed assistance. I then received a call. The plan was changed and they would be pick my washer up a couple of days later. My washer was then picked up on Friday.

    On Wednesday of the next week I called to see when the job would be finished and was advised that American Home Shield was contacted and the washer needed to be replaced as they could not fix. I have been on hold for 3 hours to speak with a representative on several occasions and just gave up. I was not given the option for a callback within the department that I need to speak with which is the Appliance Purchasing Replacement. 1800-326-6710. I am currently on hold for the Purchasing Department as I write this review. I have been a faithful customer for many years, but I have no choice but to write this review in an attempt to resolve my issue. I have 3 properties covered with American Home Shield and normally do not have an issue, but this one appears to be bigger than me. American Home Shield please assist me in resolving my issue. I have been going to the laundromat for a month. This is unacceptable.

    I had a leak in my air conditioning. American Home Shield was not answering the phone so I had to file a claim online. They were very efficient with their chat. I had immediate assistance and they scheduled an appointment. The first time the technician from United Air Temp came here, he did nothing and I got really upset. He said he didn't have the tools and that it should be with a plumber. I told him I didn't know any of that and that the problem is in my AC and they were the ones sent by my insurance. I told him to take care of it.

    One of the pipes was leaking and he was insisting there was no leak, which was a little annoying. My hands would go through the pipes and they would come wet but he said his fingers were always dry. It was confusing. Then, he just tightened the pipe. He said something was loose and that was the problem. But an hour after he left, it started leaking again and I had to call them back. I asked them to not send that technician but they said it had to be the same technician and if things don't work out, they would send another one. But he came in and he already knew what the problem was. He said he had more tools and he changed the pipe. He changed the thing that connects the pipes and he took care of everything. Everything is functioning but there is a little spot that is wet and has a lot of green from the water.

    I have had a contract with AHS for 4 years. I now want to cancel my contract. I have called 4 times. The first time I called was in May (hold time 45 min) and the “retention” rep said I had to call back one day before the contract ended to cancel. So I called yesterday (hold time 50 min) and the response was “the department is not available” to cancel my contract. I was told I would receive a phone call at 5:30p today to finish the cancelation. No phone call. I tried calling and was on hold for an hour. My husband called again and was told AGAIN (after hold time of 45 min) that the department wasn’t available that could cancel my account. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and any further charges to my credit card will be reported as fraudulent. There is literally no other way to cancel your contract than by calling. The run-around is purely to get you to give up and allow the payments to continue. This is unethical and entrapment.

He put in Freon into our unit and he said he thought it was leaking. He tightened it up but three weeks later, the air conditioner is not working again. We currently have another claim pending with them that we opened up for the same issue. Regardless, my wife was very impressed with the repairman who came out from Cross Country.

    There were a few times when we would set the AC unit to come on, let's say, at 70 degrees and it wouldn't click on for maybe two hours. One time, my wife and I left to go do something. By the time we came back, it still hadn't come on although eventually, it did. The contractor showed up on time, came in, checked the AC and did the work they needed to do on the inside. They cleaned out a clogged drain. We had someone come out a few days after them and inspect our roof. Our insurance company mentioned that the covering of the AC unit that protects the machinery and such needed to be replaced. The contractor should've seen that and maybe done that work as well, even though we called because the interior was not cooling.

    The service with American Home Shield has been decent. In the past, we had some problems and we've noticed that some changes have been made. We had some issues in 2016 and 2017. One was with an electrical company that came out with the ceiling fan. When the guy finished, we had a cord that when you pull to turn on the fan, it would be broken off. They had to go up there and replace it. Once the guy replaced it and put in a new cord, we had a ticking noise with the ceiling fan. We said that we had just bought the ceiling fan not long ago and it didn't make any noise. They said that over time, they start making those noises. It didn’t happen and the guy went out and said that he had done all that he could. At that time, we had written a check. While I was waiting for him to come give me the bill so I can give him the check, he just drove off then complained and said we didn't pay. American Home Shield went on his side.

    We also called another company to fix something with an old refrigerator and they made some comments to my wife while I was at work. The guy was putting his body on the table and shoving it. My wife told him that if he breaks the table, he was gonna buy it. It’s a Havertys table and he didn't wanna pay for it. That made him mad, so he started threatening my wife and he drove off. My wife called me at work and tell me that the guy was very aggressive. Now, we don't allow anyone in the house with my wife by herself because of the way he spoke to her and American Home Shield still charged us.

    The contract has had a pause in it. We changed and went to Sears for a moment because of what happened. We went back to American Home Shield for the cost but there were times where it seemed like some of the contractors were not rated the highest. The only reason we haven't replaced AHS is because we had illness in our family and we started doing other things. But since then, the policy has changed whereas we pay American Home Shield and American Home Shield pays the company. So, we haven't called American Home Shield for much.

    The motherboard on our dryer had an issue. I called AHS and got an automated and asked me what appliance, and then it sent me the notification of who they were turning me over to. Then when the company called to make the appointment, the rep had asked some questions. They sent out a repair person to do the evaluation. We troubleshot so we pretty much knew what it was. They didn't have the part so they scheduled to come back. The technician came back the next day and fixed it.

    There was a part that was broken inside the heater. It had something to do with the heating thermostat or mechanism in there 'cause the heater wouldn't come up to speed. I just called American Home Shield and they put me in touch with the vendor. Once they scheduled the repair with the Maui Pool Service, they took over. Maui diagnosed the problem but they didn't have this part on their truck, so they ordered it. It took them about a week to get that and then they came out and fixed it. They just popped it right in and it took them less than 10 minutes and everything worked fine after that.

    When Myers came out, they couldn't do the job. They told me what was wrong with the unit that I had. American Home Shield had to get somebody else to do the job, but I've always used Myers. I have no problem with them. An electrician from another company came out and he fixed the problem. It was the air conditioner. What happened was I had another company to put that box in, and they didn't tie in all those screws down inside of that box. One of those connectors had popped off, and the electrician put the connector back on there and cleaned all those wires up. He was here for about 30 minutes to one hour. It wasn't that long. When he got here he jumped right on and took care it. I've had American Home Shield for years and if it wasn't any good, I wouldn't have it that long. I see other people have had problems, but I haven't had any. Every time I call, they handle my calls and they get someone to me promptly.

    The AC system had turned off completely. A & R Complete Service came out and reset something up in the attic on it, and it worked. Then it got really hot here and the AC wasn't performing. So they came out and they said the system froze up because there wasn't enough Freon in it. We had to shut the system off for a day. They came back out and topped off the Freon. They diagnosed everything quickly and they knew what they were doing. They went through the line and he checked the whole system the second time around to make sure everything was working right. Submitting a claim with American Home Shield has been difficult because many of the people are not in the office, so you're waiting for phones to be transferred to people out of their homes, and a lot of disconnect calls.

    Lafayette Refrigeration came and serviced my stove. The tech could not find the model number of the stove. So, he deemed it unrepairable. There were several things that were going wrong with it. He also serviced my refrigerator. It was leaking from the top and there was water at the bottom of it. The seal around the top of the freezer was not working well. Both the stove and refrigerator got taken care of to be replaced.

    I've had American Home Shield for quite a while. But the thing that bothered me the most was having to wait so long to talk to a representative. I didn’t wanna do it online 'cause I knew I needed to hear a person talking to me and I follow through with that person. I went through a series of prompts when I called the claim in and it took two hours. I was on hold waiting to talk to someone at American Home Shield. The other time before that was like an hour and a half. It really annoyed me that it took so long each time I’d call to try and get service with American Home Shield. I understand that with the COVID, things are different and it's a hassle. There are people calling in and you gotta wait your turn. Two hours is a long time. But as a whole, I've been pleased with American Home Shield.

    Back in November, the washing machine went out and they serviced it several times. The last guy who came was telling me the things that were wrong. So, he put it in his statement and then I called American Home Shield and it was replaced. The unfortunate thing was when I came home from work that day, the guys were out there with the washing machine and they had it turned upside down. It was a front-load. I ordered the base to go under ‘cause that was what I had even though American Home Shield would not replace the base. I purchased the base and they had it turned upside down. Then they came and put the other one out, and put that one in.

    I went down that night to wash, put a load of clothes in, and that machine literally danced across that concrete floor that it was on. I tried it the next day and I called American Home Shield. That was a little annoying because they were telling me that I needed to call the company that delivered the washing machine. But I told them that they would be paying for this since they sent these guys to my house with the machine. After a few weeks, we finally got it straight and they did replace the washing machine with the same model. So, I have been satisfied with American Home Shield.

    I've had really good service with American Home Shield and I've already renewed my contract for next year. Draingo came out for my claim and the tech brought the part, replaced it and fixed it in one trip. I had another claim for my hot water heater. The contractor had to order a unit and they were able to get one through Home Depot. It took an extra day but they came out quickly. They were very professional and they took care of the problem. A few months later, I had a similar problem with the new hot water heater and they came right back out. The issue was with a pop-off valve. The tech fixed it immediately and it was good to go. So I had really good results with them.

    Most of the time, I do my claims online. It's easier and I can just set it up. American Home Shield has responded back pretty quickly and easily. When the garbage disposal went out, I did the claim online that night and I had a response back. The contractor contacted me quickly to get the appointment set up the next day. Then they got somebody out.

    The submission and payment process with American Home Shield have all been fine although sometimes, when I put in a request, there's not always an option to put in more detail. So, when the plumber or the contractor does call, I have to either repeat or they are looking for more information. There should be an opportunity to put that in the request form beforehand or ahead of time. But everybody has been very respectful and helpful. Sometimes, I don't always love paying $75 every time somebody comes up but I know that’s way better than what it could be. I received some help fixing a couple of toilets and the one thing that I didn't receive much help on was installing a water filter but that might not be in the scope of what's covered. So, the contractor gave me some advice and said that they could come back if I needed help but I wasn't given much of a direction on that one and I had to get some outside help.

    My experience with Home Shield has been good. I went through their website to make a claim for an air conditioner that wasn't working. Their site was fine but it would be better if they could make an app for that. All Air Heating & Air Conditioning was the contractor and there was kind of a wide range there for when I could expect them. There wasn't a really good window as far as when that would come. Home Shield just gave a number to call the contractor myself to find out when.

    I sent the claim Saturday and the contractor came out Monday night. It was 48 hours which is an exception. I had a contractor come out for another issue two months prior and that took about a week. But for this AC one, it was good. The same can be said about Air Heating & Air Conditioning. Since their visit, everything has been working normally. It was over 100 degrees out so the repair helped a lot.

    We had no air conditioning, so I went online and submitted a claim to American Home Shield. They sent out contractor A. Contractor A came out and erroneously claimed that the condenser was dead and needed to be replaced and that the reason that the condenser had died was that it was a replacement condenser, not the original one. When it had been installed, they only secured it with two of the four bolts at the base. I don't know anything about air conditioning, but I'm a research scientist and I fiddle around with a lot of fancy equipment, and that was an absurd contention. So, with some difficulty, I managed by getting in touch with people in American Home Shield's corporate office to have them send out someone for a second opinion, which was Excellence Air.

    Excellence Air came out and said that the condenser was okay. They replaced a fan and one or two other little parts, and the air conditioning worked. Then 28 days later, again, there was no air. Fortunately it was within that 30-day time span and Excellence Air came out a second time. Now, the condenser was dead. So, they replaced the condenser along with a couple of other parts, and everything so far, and hopefully, will continue hunky dory. My experience with Excellence Air was fabulous. The owner, who's the only person I've ever met, was the person who came out both times, and he is absolutely fabulous. He explains things clearly, and does the work in a very time-efficient fashion, and I couldn't be happier.

    My tenant called me to tell me that the garbage disposal was not working. Then I called AHS and scheduled an appointment. Once I made the call to AHS, they gave me the number to the company. When I made the request, I gave them the tenant's number. My tenant said it's fine now. She said that the garbage disposal is working well. However, it was so hard for me to go through AHS. Another thing, if AHS is taking a monthly fee off my account, then I have to go through to talk to somebody, but it took me at least three days before I was able to talk to someone. One time I was on the phone for 45 minutes, I had to hang up. They now blame it on the Corona. They have a shortage of staff.
