My dishwasher was leaking and when the tech came, we thought the issue was the seal. So when the seal came in, he replaced it but the dishwasher was still leaking. That was when they determined that we needed the door and American Home Shield said that they would just replace the dishwasher. But Bragg's was wonderful. The tech tried his best. I called American Home Shield's 800 number and then they sent me an email saying that I could either pick one of the options or I could get a reimbursement. The first one that they told me was ADA. The rep told me to make sure that I measure it to make sure it fits because if they send me one and it doesn't fit, then they're liable. I called them back because that ADA thing didn't sound right to me and it's been an ordeal calling that number. You stay on hold for four hours to talk to those people.
The lady that answered the phone said that they shouldn't have recommended the ADA. She told me that it shouldn't have been suggested to me and she was gonna send me another email and I could have another first option. I got the email and it said that they would reimburse me up to 600 and some dollars. I was okay with that but I was still afraid that if I picked something and they delivered it that it was on me. So American Home Shield is replacing the dishwasher. We're just waiting for the dishwasher to come in from Best Buy.
I emailed the receipt to them on the 14th. I called them yesterday and I stayed on hold for another three and a half hours just to see if they could tell me if they received it. The rep said they were working on stuff that they got on the 8th. SO who knows what happened to the thing I mailed. I'm not even worried about that. But I'm in limbo waiting.
When I have to call in for service, I do it all online which is nice and easy. But this whole getting the unit replaced has been very discouraging because I can't get anybody to talk to me. They should put it in my account that the document or the email has been received and then indicate the date that I should be getting the reimbursement. That way, it would alleviate us having to call back and talk to somebody.
The bad thing was that put it on my credit card and they've already billed me. My credit card bill was due at the end of July, so I had to pay for it already. Luckily I had the money to pay it. I'm blessed that I was able to do that. But if it was a different situation and if I would have known that it was gonna take this long, I probably would have went with the zero percent financing for a couple months. I've also had bad luck with Best Buy. Best Buy keeps calling me and saying, “Okay, let's make your thing we suggested.” But as soon as we hang up, they send me an email back saying that there was another delay and that I had to call back. Luckily I don't have four-hour wait time with Best Buy. But the whole experience has been pretty rough.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. I apologize for the inconvenience we've caused you. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you as I would like to speak to you more about your claim.

I had a claim on the refrigerator. I was unable to change the water filter. It just would not come out. My husband and I couldn't get it out. Rather than taking a risk of really doing more damage than good, we just went ahead and made the claim with AHS. I went online and said, “I've got a claim, I've got a problem.” It didn't give me a choice. It just said, “Not making ice, not cooling.” The choices that it gave me, none of them applied, so I hit “Other”. As always, I got a call in the next 24 hours. They scheduled and CK Appliance came out. He was here when he said he would be. It was the same gentleman that fixed the refrigerator previously. He was on time, polite and courteous. He was also personable and was very professional. He put little thingies on his shoes and had a mask on.
He showed me how to fix the water filter. He said the water filter that was in there looked like it had a fault on it. He said, “This may be why it was hanging up in the filter housing. So, that could be why you were having such a hard time getting it out.” He took the whole housing out to get the filter out, which I couldn't have done. I don’t like the fact that I had to make a claim just to change my water filter, but I was in a spot where I didn't know what else to do.

The drain pipe got clogged with debris so water was backing up on it. I had to turn off the AC because of that. I sent in a claim online and the contractor came out the next day. They unclogged it and made sure everything was nice and fine. It was flawless.

All About Air was contacted by AHS because we were in the middle of a heatwave at the time and the people who AHS normally would have reached out to weren't available. The company came out, went on the roof and looked at the unit. There were two gentlemen and they were very professional. They did what they said they were going to do. I joked with them that I might get an entire air conditioning unit out of this claim and they laughed and said that it was probably something really simple, which it was. They said that the air conditioner was not working at all and it had something to do with some kind of a compressor that would cause the unit to stop working. They went and got the part, came back, installed it and everything worked. Overall, American Home Shield has been good. I needed an air conditioner in a city where it would get triple digits and the repair greatly helped.

The AC unit inside the home was leaking down in the basement. I logged online and submitted a claim. The website was easy enough to use. Then, I was given 24 hours to expect Knight Heating & Air Conditioning. They were very good in answering every question I had. But I'm not entirely sure the situation has been completely fixed. A week after the repair, there was still a little bit of leakage and I kind of fixed it on my own but I'm a little worried that it's gonna come back.

My range is a Whirlpool. It has an electronic board where you click to start the oven. That pad had malfunctioned so it was blank. I could click and hear the clicks, but there was no light. That was my only issue I’ve had in the house. As soon as I emailed that there was an issue, Home Shield immediately assigned my contractor. That was great compared to other companies that I hear people complain that you have to follow up for weeks to get somebody to come in to meet with. I took the plan with the high deductible, which was 125. That’s the only money I paid to Home Shield. And then, the guy came and fixed the issue.
It was delayed for a few days because I forgot to update my profile. I had an old phone number on my profile. CD’s Appliances had a number which was not working. That was the only delay. Eventually, I ended up calling them and we got my issue resolved. The guy said, “You need to replace that part.” He came and replaced it. I'm able to use my oven again. I'm happy.
Thanks for letting us know everything worked out great for you. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Enjoy your day.

The refrigerator wasn't cooling and American Home Sheild made an appointment. Maughanster Appliance Repair called me right away the next day. They're awesome. They were and very professional. They did a great job and I'd highly recommend them to anyone. They've helped me with all my appliances and they've been fantastic. Everything's been functioning fine.
American Home Shield went above and beyond the call of duty and I had told everybody about it. They would have the techs to us in about 10 days. They replaced my dishwasher and my microwave, and the only problem I had was the two-hour wait on the phone which might be due to COVID. Somebody would call me and then they'd give me my choices. Then I had to call back and tell them my choice. But my husband waited for two hours, and I waited for two hours and 15 minutes. Now we’re up for renewal and I plan on renewing, but I'm leery about the wait time because I don't have two hours of my day to sit there and wait on the phone. Other than that, they gave us our options and they gave us time to think about it and then they called us back to ask what we had decided about. We took the cash because we thought we'd just do it ourselves.

We had a heating problem and we had water coming from out from underneath. We thought we had some type of a leak and that turned out to be condensation. So, that was no big deal. Then we had a refrigerator issue where the icemaker quit working. I wrote a note on that one because I was really unhappy. The guy that AHS sent out just said that they have a lot of problems with the ice maker on that gallery series and that there was not really a whole much he could help me with there. I paid him 75, then he left and a neighbor ended up coming over and fixed it for us.
All in all, some of the service guys were awesome and they were really there to fix the appliance and do the job. Then some of them were just disappointing, especially the refrigerator one. Then, we have to pay in advance to assure their payment. But I would like to see the problem taken care of before they get paid. Also, we've never had older homes before and we've always had brand new homes, so we've never had the experience of needing service. But now, our second home is 20 years old and I don't have a plan on that right now. If I have a problem, I pay for somebody to come out and I haven't really spent what I spend for American Home Shield every year. But I'm scared to death not to have the policy on the other home because we didn't build it and we bought it used. Other than that, we used AHS a lot and they're doing the best they can do.

They took them out because somebody else had to do it and the person that came was gonna come and fix it was so busy he couldn't. They called me and said that they wouldn't be there till a certain time and I was in the process of selling my house so I ended up having to get someone else to come in and repair it.

The inspector found that the hot water heater was leaking. AHS sent Colorado First Plumbing and Sewer. When they checked it, they found that I needed a whole new one. I was very happy with the plumbing people. I wasn't happy with American Home Shield. I had no idea I had to pay $1,035 and Home Shield only paid 580 so I cancelled their service. People should know ahead of time that what Home Shield does is when something happens, they say that it's wear and tear that's why the customer has to pay for everything. But there's nothing like that in their contract when purchasing.

I've got AHS for three properties. There were a few things wrong with the AC at one property in Stoney Glen that were a little more technical. I got the notification from the tenant at four o'clock pm on a Friday. Then I got a prompt response and scheduled everything with the tenant. Even on a Sunday evening, they were even discussing with me exactly what time they were gonna be there on Monday, which was the next business day. They had good communication as well. I got a copy of the work that was performed when they were finished. The only thing was that when I was logging on from PC, there was an issue with getting the claim submitted. That was alleviated when I went through my phone and was able to finally get it submitted that way. I've been happy. It's money well spent. On the service that I have needed, it's actually exceeded my expectations. Overall, I recommend AHS actively to anybody. Even in a brand new home, stuff breaks down.

American Home Shield has a lot of stuff they don't tell me. When they advertise, they tell me that if they can't fix my issue, they'll replace what needs to be replaced. They don't say that if I don't come under a particular type, I may have to go out of pocket for some things. A lot of people ask me about them and I tell them that things become an issue with AHS if they have to replace something. There are too many hidden little fees when it's time for them to do that. There was a time when I had to get a central air unit in my house and AHS was only gonna cover a small fee of that. That whole system cost me $4,800 and they told me that they were only gonna go up to $500.
There's so much going on now to be out selling somebody a product that isn't 100%. A friend of mine has Home Shield and she needed a hot water tank. AHS claimed her unit was old and wasn't up to code. So, they were only going to pay so much. Most recently, I had a leaky faucet and Home Shield sent Plumb Genius. The tech replaced the faucet and had to tighten up some of the knobs. However, he labeled them wrong. The one on the hot one should have been on the cold one. Still, I called Plumb Genius back and the tech took care of it.

United Air Temp was excellent. They were very professional and polite. The shower was leaking through the ceiling from the second floor down to the first floor, and they found out that the trap of the gasket was leaking causing water to damage the ceiling. They cut the portion of the ceiling out and fixed the gasket in there. It took them about five days to do the fix. When they found out what the problem was, they had to order the part and wait for the part to come in. When the part came in, they came right out and put it in.
I've been with American Home Shield for a few years now and I've never had an issue with them. Everything's been done properly and they let me know in advance what’s going on. They've always been fair with me. If I could get to a person quicker, that would be a lot awesome. Sometimes I want to get to an agent sooner, but you gotta go through so many different avenues and channels in order to get to somebody.

I had an AC claim with Home Shield. There was a piece that had to be replaced and the guy from Efficient Air Systems fixed it very quickly. He seemed to know exactly what he needed to do and he didn't even have to come inside the house. He just had to have access to the machine outside and it was a pretty seamless and fast process. What hasn't been consistent with Home Shield is when there were situations that they couldn't repair and they did not replace, which I thought is what having them is for. There was an HVAC issue one time that I had and they told me that they couldn't do anything about it because the piece had been breaking. And they couldn’t replace it. I ended up having to buy a brand new HVAC, which I didn’t think I’d have to do if they were servicing this. I don’t feel like there’s a real clear understanding on what this service is supposed to do in every situation and I don’t think it’s completely cut and dry.

I got American Home Shield when I bought my house. So far, so good. I did a claim with them online for my air conditioner and their website seemed intuitive enough for me. I filled out the time and I got a follow-up. It was a text message or an email that came the next morning so I was okay with that. Someone from Third Generation Plumbing came to work on my unit. There was flooding. Upstairs, where the handler is, was where the water wasn't draining out so it started going into my walls. The contractor was very good and I liked them. I've decided to go with American Home Shield because my daughter had acquired their services and I liked the way that they operated. However, they haven't finished doing my job. If you are gonna talk to someone, you’d spend an hour trying to get to an agent that is a little bit hard to understand at times. You ask for a supervisor and you can never get a supervisor. They have a way of deviating a person so he doesn't talk to a supervisor. If you call a person back on the same issue, for example a plumber, and they come and fix one problem, they don't look at another one that you have even though you specified that you not only have a stoppage but you also have a toilet that doesn't work. After the plumber comes into my house for the third time, he finally gets one thing fixed and I wanted the second thing fixed. The job is done partially.
I had to call three times to have American Home Shield send another plumber. As soon as the other plumber came, he knew what he needed and said he was gonna order it and it'd be here in 3 days. This other plumber, I would classify as A+. The other plumber, I can give him a D. That is one of the reasons that Hectors Air Conditioning has been good. The guy is the best air conditioning man that I’ve encountered in my life. He's a very professional man and I like his services. But we got a problem with the ductwork. In talking to three different persons, and last night, the fourth person, she finally told me that the ductwork is not covered. In speaking to the first two agents, they said they would find another contractor to come and work on my ductwork which is part of the air conditioning system of a rental house that I have. After an hour of talking, she finally said they were gonna review it.
Being that I’m getting up in age, paying $50 a month for warranty on certain items in the home was worth it. But American Home Shield is not getting the right people and they’re not taking care of the customers promptly. Right now, I say, “Well, let it work. Let it burn up. I don’t care.” They’re gonna have to replace this because they just serviced it not even three weeks ago. I am trying to get on a side that I have my renter comfortable, that the air conditioning is shutting off the way it’s supposed to, and that the whole central air and heat unit is working properly.

When he got back, he brought the part but he realized that he didn't have this other part and he thought that they would not be able to get it since it was no longer available.
The piece that the technician said that was not replaceable was the piece on the outside of the freezer door where you'd do the water and the ice to come through in your cup when you push those buttons. That was wide open, so it was causing my whole freezer to mess up. There was nothing else he could do because it was broken. They told me to reach back out and let American Home Shield know that that's what it was and I did. They got the okay from American Shield to replace the faucet. The contractor was very nice. Our first claim before was about a different plumbing issue. The plumber came and did absolutely nothing. I complained about it to AHS and then I got to thinking and investigated and saw that they would send somebody else at no charge to fix it.
I called them back and they sent the exact same plumbing company, Flow Masters. The guy looked at it and said it was easy to fix and he did it. The shower faucets installed backwards and again, it's a Delta. He made some adjustments and it's also working fine. I'm new to Home Shield. I've been with them for less than a month. And just as coincidence would have it, two weeks after we purchased our home warranty, the motor on one of our air conditioning units went out. I anticipated a bit of a hassle just because it was such a new contract. I'm certain there are plenty of people who, something breaks, and then they try to reverse engineer it. They would say, “We'll just deal with the broken whatever for a couple of weeks, and then we'll call a service thing.” I anticipated some friction, but there wasn't.
It was easy to request service and to make an appointment, and the communication was transparent. All Tech was not early but they gave a two-hour repair window and they were here at the very beginning of it. The tech sent us a text message when he was on his way. He diagnosed the problem quickly. He had all the parts that he needed on his truck. He had the AC fixed within an hour, and that was it. It was fantastic. It was seamless and painless. My wife works for a large real estate office. They deal with various home warranty providers and Home Shield always bubbles to the top as the premier provider. They're more expensive, but we just bought a home and that's why we went with them.

Two different techs came for my AC. The first one took a long time. They came out and they didn't really look at the right part. Circa Mechanical came out in maybe a week after I called in the claim and looked at the AC unit. Their guy came out quickly and right off the bat, he noticed that there was something wrong with either the battery or the compressor. He went ahead and changed it right then and there. Since then, everything has been working fine so far. I like everything about this tech. I would definitely recommend his company again.
The only thing is you can't say more than one problem using the online claim submission of American Home Shield. I thought there were multiple issues but when I went online to do the claim, I was only able to input the first one. They won’t allow me to do two. It took a week for the tech to come out. He looked at it and I guess the claim got denied. I ended up calling. The person I talked to was saying, “No, no, no." I talked to a manager and they understood what I was saying. Our kitchen sink had a leak and our upstairs toilet had an issue. I went online and got the customer service number of American Home Shield. Their reps were great over the phone. I told the one I spoke to about the sink and the toilet and she said it would not be a problem to submit both issues under one claim since they were both plumbing issues. Their contractor Honesty Mechanical came to service my claim but then the plumber got the wrong information on why he was going to my place. AHS didn't mention anything to him about the toilet needing to be looked at and he wasn't prepared for that. He ended up not being able to do anything about that.
I had to go to Lowe's and learn how to fix my own toilet. I spent even more money than what we gave Home Shield to fix my own toilet. It was cheaper for me to try to figure it out and go through Lowe's than paying another $100 to have somebody come out from AHS then possibly paying out of pocket. Other than this communication issue, AHS has been good for us overall.

The compressor on the air conditioner was not working and the contractor, World Class AC, replaced it. Then, there was an issue after they replaced it, so the guy came back out and fixed that problem. I also had a plumbing issue in the laundry room and American Home Shield had someone come out and fix the valve, which was fine as well. Submitting a claim to AHS was easy because I had other questions about other things and I was able to call them quickly and get it resolved. They are the only company that I've been dealing with that answered me in a timely manner, returned my call and there was a human that I spoke to. So, AHS has been very good. It was also quick both times that I did it and everything so far has been very smooth.

I have a neighbor that uses American Home Shield and I have another girlfriend that uses them. I had been using Choice for about five years, and I know that I'm getting ready to rent out my house. So, I thought I might need all the support I can get. The extra couldn't hurt. So, I got American Home Shield. I like the guy from ATR General Services as a technician. He went above and beyond even to show me what he's done.
I wasn't too thrilled about the way American Home Shield all have it set up in that. When I went online to file a request, I was unfamiliar with the whole, “Okay. We will take the money before the technician ever gets there.” Most people would prefer to pay when they see the person that's gonna do the work. There should be some way of, “Okay, I'm satisfied. It looks good, everything. Let's pay.” I went along with it, but I have to say I was not familiar with that. I was not happy at that point. It was a week before he could be scheduled to be here. So, I thought, “I'm gonna just discontinue this.” But once he got here, he was so thorough and so informative. He saved the day. You could tell he was so humble. He didn't have a clue what frame of mind I was in. He was just doing his job. I was very pleased.

Someone from Benett's came out, leaned the washing machine over, looked at the bottom and said it needed a hose. We had the washing machine for about six years and he told me that the hose was cut in half. He also said he had to order the part through Home Shield and I never heard that before. He said he'd get back with me another day, and he left. That's the part I didn't like. Why couldn't he go get the part and come back? They got part stores all over the place. I've been doing service calls all my life and I can go buy a part, come back and fix it. They did that with my air conditioning. They sent the technician out here the next day. He came out, replaced my fan and checked it. He was then out of here and it was running again.
Come to the washing machine, I don't wanna see these people two or three times at my house. The COVID is going on right now and I don't know what that boy's carrying around. It was also like my $125 was sitting in limbo. I could have paid a bootleg mechanic to come and fix my washing machine if I gotta go two weeks without it working. I'm about good and pissed because that boy should have been able to come out here, look at the unit and go get the part and come back. It ain't like rocket science to a washing machine. I'm confused.
I've already waited a week to get my washing machine fixed and he told me what was wrong with it, but he didn't do the repair then. He was good, but the protocol that he had to follow was bad. Now I gotta be inconvenienced again and wait around and see how long it's gonna take him and when he's gonna come. I ain't working right now, and I don't have time to sit around. I'm trying to hustle during a pandemic. As long as it took for an appliance to be repaired, that was ridiculous. I also don't want any more bad experiences.

A friend has the same service and I signed up in May. When my air conditioning unit needed to be charged, I called and the tech who came was friendly and thorough. It also didn't take him long to do his job and so far, things are working okay. This is the claim that did everything that needed to be done. I've had another claim with them for my dryer. It was smoking and the inside, this little thing that turns your clothes, that was not turning. They came out and they repaired it, but now it's making a knocking noise. I hadn't had time enough to do a claim or I didn't know if I need to do a claim or call the man back, so I just had it. Overall though, I'm very pleased that I was told about this service. American Home Shield is doing what they said that they would do and I've already started recommending people.

There was a leak in my roof and there were brown spots forming in my living room ceiling. Those spots were getting bigger so I know there was some type of leak in the attic. I filed the claim with them, came by and American Home Shield's tech from Universal Plumbing came by. He found that there was some problem with my air conditioning which was too backed up. He had to clear the pipes. It took him an hour or so then he said everything should be good to go. Since then, I haven't had any more leaks. He did a great job. Being with American Home Shield these past years has been great. I get affordable prices plus they've been really good with getting me in touch with who I need to fix any problems I have.

American Home Shield needs to be careful who they're sending out. They have to be reputable and they have to make sure that they're good quality. Sometimes the service people that they send out are questionable. A lot of times they'll just clean something up or put a band-aid on some of the problems versus changing out the parts. That irritates me in some ways. But for the most part, they've fixed pretty much everything I've asked except for the electrical.
American Home Shield had electrical people come out in the house I just bought and I paid $75. Then the guy said that it was all outdated and that it would cost probably 1,500 past the amount that I paid. When he looked at the other electrical stuff that we showed him, he just said that it was probably beyond what they could do and then he left. So I paid $75 and the guy didn't do anything other than telling me it was gonna cost me 1,500 more. They also didn't cover something at the other house that I had. But we had other stuff that people came out and they fixed and it was fine.

The light to the ceiling just stopped coming on. It was not working. I submitted a claim through American Home Shield's website. I didn't have any issues submitting my work order. So, I was fine with it. When I submitted the claim, they sent me an email and a text also. Something popped up on the screen, and then I received a text message on who was coming out and the timeframe for them to be contacting me. Moen Electric went on and contacted me that Monday. They were great. Everything is working perfectly, too. They replaced that whole light switch box thing, and I haven't had any issues.
I don't know people in this area to come and do repairs, and so I feel like it's great that I have protection with American Home Shield. I had American Home Shield on my first property in my early 20s. I just was looking at the reviews. This is my fourth property and my fourth time having American Home Shield. We just moved into a new house and we were rekeying it. We reached out to American Home Shield online. A man from Dan's Pro-Lock came out for the rekey. He was good and I didn't have a problem. It was great. The only thing is I'd like to see a more user-friendly website for American Home Shield. It was shocking. It was not easy to get in and to navigate. It worked eventually but the website could be improved. It should be a little bit more user-friendly. Both my husband and I are not technophobes. We get the text messages but if you go online, we can't track.
The other issue that we had was since we moved into a new house, we tried to schedule a plumber to come out and they said we couldn't do it until we paid for something else. When you're having an emergency or whatever the case may be, you're gonna need more than one person at a time. We had to make a phone call to the person who sold us the policy for them to make sure we could do more than one ticket at a time.

So they ordered the part. I called last week to check the status of the order. Everything is working now. I already recommended AHS to two people already. I was telling them I heard about it. I was saying, "Y'all should try it because we're all women and we don't know how to fix things." It's a backup plan. It might be the simplest thing, but we don't know how to fix. I started having pool issues. I had a leak and the pump system wasn't functioning the way it should have been functioning. There was a valve that broke off as well. I did what I could and I couldn't. I didn't know enough about it to be able to fix it, so I called the claim in to American Home Shield and I got a notification that a technician has been assigned to me. Green Valley contacted me the next day and they gave me a date of when they were gonna go.
The technician was very professional and I asked if he could call me at least half an hour before he showed up to the house, which he did. I went to the house and the guy showed up. He went in there and asked me what was going on. I showed him, he analyzed it, did everything he was supposed to and came to the conclusion that there was some stuff that needed to be repaired. He got everything done and everything's working great now. As of yesterday last night, everything was functioning correctly in the way it should be so I got no complaints at this moment.
I had AHS once and then, it expired. So, I got a notice and I had to call and renew it. Just recently, it happened again where I was notified that I was lost as a customer. I wish they would have notified me that my contract was coming up on expiration and if I wanted to renew it as opposed to say that they’ve lost me as a customer. My A/C unit stopped cooling on June 5, 2020. It is July 26, 2020 and it is still not repaired. I submitted my service request and an A/C repair technician came out that same day. His appt time was between 4-6pm but the tech didn't show until 8:15pm and was gone by 8:40pm saying my unit was not pulling full voltage from both sides of the compressor and I needed an electrician to come repair, then an A/C tech would come back out after that if needed. That following Monday an electrician came out. Replaced a couple breakers in my breaker box then tried "one more thing". When he had me turn my heat/AC panel on in my hallway he went outside to see if he could tell what it was doing.
Before he made it to the A/C unit outside there was a loud "BOOM" from outside and all my lights inside flickered several times. The electrician yelled "oh no" from outside, came running back into my house, pointed down the hallway and said "go turn that off, go turn that off!" as he ran to turn the breakers back off. As he walked back through my house to go back out to my unit he laughed and said "Well you may get an entirely new unit out of this, I think I just blew yours up." He left after that. Two days later, the A/C tech came back out again and diagnosed that my compressor needed to be replaced because it had blown up. I received a call on Monday, June 15, 2020 saying the purchase of my new compressor was approved by AHS and the part would be ordered that day.
I was also told it would be sent directly to the A/C contractor and that they should receive it within 3-5 business days. Now remember, that was on June 15th. The A/C contracting company didn't receive my compressor until July 7th and set up an appointment with me to come out and replace it on July 9, 2020. His appt was for between noon and 2pm on July 9th but he didn't arrive until a few minutes after 5pm. He worked until after 8pm then came inside and said "There is an issue but it will be easier to explain if I show you." When I walked out there he showed me that AHS had ordered and sent the A/C contractor the wrong compressor. The compressor that goes with my A/C unit has 2 housings, one on each side, that the wiring goes into. The new compressor they sent only had 1.
The A/C tech did not notice this problem until he had already removed my old damaged compressor and installed and was hooking up the new one AHS sent them. Since it was almost 8:30pm that Thursday night, he said he was just going to leave the new, incorrect compressor hooked up and take my old damaged compressor with him. It is now July 26, 2020 and as of last Tuesday, July 21st, when I spoke with the most recent AHS customer service rep, he was submitting an email to the AHS Escalation Team to research what was going on because my second replacement compressor still had not even been ordered yet in the 11 days since being notified they had sent the wrong compressor.
The AHS customer service department rep told me that their "AHS customer service department" are unable to reach the "AHS purchasing department" by phone. I have requested the last 6 times I have spoken with an AHS customer service rep that I want a supervisor or manager to call me right away. Every one of them has told me they will place the request to have their supervisor call me the next day but I have yet to hear from anyone. I have placed multiple calls throughout this ordeal, waiting on hold for over 35 minutes to over an hour practically every time waiting for someone just to answer the phone.
Every time I call, I speak to a different person of course, and every time I have to explain the entire situation from beginning to end because apparently the notes on my account are not accurate. I am told different information from one call to the next. I have been told every thing from my account has been assigned to a different contractor altogether or just flat out cancelled even though I am STILL sitting here waiting for my repairs to be completed. This has been going on for almost 2 months now and I am still no closer to having my A/C unit repaired than I was when it stopped cooling on June 5th.
Also, on top of having a huge expense to replace all the Freon in my A/C unit because when the electrician blew up my compressor it contaminated the Freon that was in it, I also have the expense of having to board my dog somewhere else for all this time because it has been too hot in my house for her to be here. She is 12 1/2 years old and can't handle this kind of heat. I think AHS needs to consider reimbursing me the total expense of the Freon, not just the $10/pound they currently pay, because of how long their incompetence has drawn this fiasco out. This has all been extremely frustrating and completely disappointing.
I have talked up having this home warranty plan for my home to all my family, friends and co-workers because I thought I was doing a responsible thing having this protection for my home thinking this was a reputable and reliable company looking out for their clients' interests. I did my research and thought I had chosen the best company for the job. Apparently I was wrong. I wonder how much longer this is going to go on before my A/C unit is actually repaired.

1st Choice Appliance came out and fixed the freezer and the dishwasher. I told the tech that the washer wasn't finishing its cycle. They told me that they would fix this and if there was any issues, I could call them back. I've talked to the lady four times and every time she said that she sometimes forget to tell her boss that he needs to come back out there and take a look at it. So I’m still waiting to hear back from them and my claim has been open for about two months.
This is the second time that I've gotten this washer fixed. The first time, the people never even ordered the part and I waited three months. So American Home Shield gave me the $75 back for it. But when they finally came out and supposedly fixed it, it never fixed the problem. I had to send a new order out for it. So it's kind of a pain in the rear end. For me to get off work, go home and wait for somebody that doesn't know what's going on to take care of something that I probably could have paid for myself, that's when it gets frustrating.
The first claim that I had with American Home Shield was when my oven went out and I got the whole oven replaced. It was fantastic. But that's been the only contractor that came in, did exactly what he was supposed to do and leave. I never saw him again. That was the guy that came in and took a look at it. Whenever he installed it, it wouldn't fit exactly how he wanted it to. So he left it there and I had to finish the project. I have American Home Shield because I made sure that when I bought the house, the guy that was selling it to me gave me two years worth of some sort of warranty because I didn't trust him. That was a good reason for me to do it because I've had a lot of issues so far.
It’s nice to know that there's something there to help. But it depends on which transaction. Depending on who I get ahold of, sometimes it's great service and sometimes it's terrible service. Sometimes it feels like it's a company, or people that I have coming out here, come in their regular vehicle and there's no name on them. They come in regular clothing and it seems like it's kind of shady.
Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. I apologize for the inconvenience we've caused you. My name is Stacy and I've emailed you as I would like to speak to you more about your claim.

We moved into this house and my five-year-old washing machine started making the biggest noise. We couldn't even shut the door and not hear it. It was awful. When it got to the rinse part, it would make such a loud knocking sound that it knocks it off and puts it back on wash. We had Hopwood Electric come out and then order something to fix it. Then the technician came back out and put that part in but it didn't do a bit of good one way or the other. So all that time we were taking our laundry out to do all of our wash by the week. So we waited again. They told us they could not fix it and after that, I even paid a Maytag guy to come out here to verify it. He said he could put in a new transmission but it would cost us. We were standing there looking at a brand new machine that still has the stickers on the top of it.
Then we called Lowe's, went out there and bought a brand new washer exactly like my five-year-old Maytag. That's what American Home Shield covered. We're on our second brand new washer. It's exactly same brand from the same place we bought it from the very beginning, and whether we're washing or not, it's sitting over there clicking like it's a time bomb.
Everybody who has come out here and tried to fix it has sworn that it was not electrical and they've tried everything. We ran an extension cord and put it in to different plugs around the house and it did not make a bit of difference. They put in a new breaker box and we switched but that didn't make one bit of difference either. They didn't think it would but I insisted they go ahead and try it. One of the men who came out put a level on it. They also got down on the floor and looked behind it. We've tried everything with three different washers.
We finally just gave up. We're brand new homeowners in a three-year-old house. That shouldn't have given us any trouble. We felt like it was something electrical but they never would admit it. But the guys were nice so I wouldn't blame them. I wouldn't even question their expertise or competency. I just don't think they could figure it out and all they needed to do was say we had to get a new washer. So we did. I didn't want to. But I had other things to worry about than going over to Lowe's and trying to dillydally with all of that. Luckily, we had a good salesman and he found the exact washer. I took the picture and the serial number with me on my phone. I had all the credentials and the washer was replaced. But it's still the original problem. It's horrible.
Another thing is that American Home Shield was very hard to get a hold of at first. It's unimaginable how long I would hold waiting to talk to somebody. I finally got somebody to suggest that I get up at 7:30 in the morning and be the first caller and I might have a little bit of luck. We set an alarm and I got up at that time and called them but they had already been open for an hour because they were in New York and I'm in Texas so I missed the time. So the next morning, I realized I had to get up even earlier. So we set our alarm by Eastern Standard Time and I got up that morning and I got through pretty quickly. So besides the long wait trying to get through to them, they did a fine job.

I hope those people don't think I just got this policy and I’m just breaking everything now because nothing was broken before. Recently, I got mad and broke my toilet. The piece inside the tank just wouldn't work right. I moved it too hard and it broke. The tech from G&G Construction came out and put the whole new insides in. The tech did a hell of a job and did it in half an hour. The toilet is like turbo flush now. I love Home Shield.

We've had American Home Shield for about 20 years and they've always been good to us. We've always enjoyed their quick service. When I call, it's always within a couple of minutes, someone would usually call us back, or no longer than a half hour or so. I don't know what we’d do without them. It’s so expensive if we call anybody now. Hospitality Heating and Air Conditioning came out for our AC recently. My husband dealt with them when they came. He went out with them and they fixed everything right away and it only took a couple of seconds.

So far, this warranty has been money well-spent. When we couldn't turn our water heater back on because the pilot went out, I used the online system to file a request. It was easy to use and I didn't have any trouble. We were matched up within 24 hours and then I was able to contact the plumber and he came out here later that day. Unfortunately, he needed to go buy a part, so he had to come back the next day, but all in all, it was taken care of quickly and effectively. I was really happy with it. Now, we have hot water and that's a huge deal for us.

The AC wasn't pumping out the air fast enough. The house was at 75 and it wouldn't get cooler. We had fluids in it for that to operate right. I went online to file the claim and the technician from Quality Climate Heating called me the next day. Then he came out later in the week. He was apologetic ‘cause they got there three hours late. It was nighttime. But he said there was nothing wrong with it so he gave us tips on what to do if I change the filters to a thinner filter. We paid the deductible. This is our first house and it's our first claim. Ironically, it was the same time for our renewal so we were debating back and forth if we renew it. We still ended renewing it again for a year.
Thank you for sharing your recent experiences with us. We are happy that we were able to get the issue resolved for you and we look forward to our continued business together. Have a great day.

American Team came out for our AC and we love them. We've had them multiple times for different calls and they were always great. The person who scheduled the service was very, very professional. She was very, very nice and very good. We love Gus, who is one of their senior people. We usually will wait for him if he was not available. But he wasn't available today because he got hurt so they sent someone else. The person came out and he quickly diagnosed the problem. The condensation motor had shut off and they replaced the condensation pump. It took him 30 minutes and he fixed it. American Team was on time and professional. Gus is extremely knowledgeable about AC. We’ve used him for every issue that anybody's had with AC. He is really good. I'm a Realtor and when I sell a house and I want to suggest a warranty, I always tell them how good American Home Shield has been to us and taking care of all the problems.
American Home Shield has been very good. I had problems sometimes with the people who answers the phone. But this time, when I called to make the appointment, I requested for American Team. The person told me that it was not possible. I replied that I know it was possible and that I can make a request if they're available and they're in the area. The rep said that I couldn't. I told him that I wanna speak to his supervisor. Then he went away for a couple minutes, came back, and said, "Okay. Fine." Because I know how to do it and what to say. I know the program and the contract.

The dishwasher wasn't cleaning. I'll put the dishes in and they come out the same way. I did a claim to American Home Shield over the phone. The claims representative seemed to be knowledgeable and helpful. I was told the contractor was supposed to get back with me within 24 to 48 hours, and Hotshot did. They were fine but the issue wasn't resolved. They came in and they put another motor in and some seals around the door to stop the leaking, but my dishes still aren't getting cleaned. They completed the job in the sense that they did what they said they were gonna do, but what they said they were gonna do didn't resolve the problem. I called Hotshot. They said I had to call American Home Shield and get another ticket open. After being on hold for about an hour and 10 minutes, I just let it go.
I'm not satisfied because the problem isn't resolved. I would still recommend American Home Shield because I looked around, and they were the only one that offered a warranty for computers. That was one thing that I thought was an advantage and the good service that they offer because nobody else seemed wanted to offer that. I've been a customer with American Home Shield off and on ever since I've had my house. It's over a 10-year period on and off. I used to be in real estate and I know how valuable the home warranty is. Home Shield was the one that I always recommended to my clients, and I had never had a problem with them. And my clients had never reported to me that they had a problem with them either.

He diagnosed the problem fairly quickly then ordered parts. As soon as they got parts in, he called and said he was in town. He would be there in 10 minutes. He got the oven fixed quickly. It was great.
Right now, the appliance is good so far. I imagine it'll be fine for a while. It was an excellent experience. That was the first claim we made and hopefully, we won't have any others. I've been a part of American Home Shield ever since I bought this house in 2001 and it has been without a break this whole time. My Realtor suggested that I get the coverage and I have been okay with it. I've had some issues where at the time, I wouldn’t have been able to take care of as easily as I did with American Home Shield and with just having to pay the fee that I had to pay. That makes a big difference. If something happens to your refrigerator, hot water heater, or big items that are not within your budget at the time, you have the opportunity to have it fixed for $40. A person comes out, checks it out, and go from there.
My refrigerator stopped working. The motor wasn’t coming on and it wasn't freezing, so everything in there was thawing out and the ice in there was melting. After calling American Home Shield, they gave me the name and the phone number of Jay’s Appliance and Repair. I knew Jay’s from a couple of years ago when he was out on a call. They came out about a week ago. Since Jay's repair this time, the refrigerator has been okay. Everything has been all right. The repair took the anxiety away and relieved a lot of tension within myself of not wanting to lose my food and stuff because my refrigerator was freezing and it was gonna stay frozen.
The tech was pleasant. When he was here, I was set up in my dining area and was just being present in case he needed me for anything. We remembered each other. He had been out here before with my old refrigerator that I had serviced on about four times. American Home Shield had sent someone out and finally about the fourth time for the same refrigerator and the same problem, Jay’s suggested to American Home Shield that I get a different refrigerator. They sent the refrigerator out. As a matter of fact, it’s the same refrigerator that I have now.

AHS then sent Relaxed Heating and Air. Out of the three techs I had, the one from there was the only one who went to the roof. We have two central units and the blower on one of them stopped working. We called the number that we had on our paperwork from when we bought the house and American Home Shield did the processing from there. They said they were gonna get ahold of their contractor and forward the request to them. At the time that we had called and started to let them know that we needed something serviced, we didn't get a timeframe. A day or two later, we ended up getting a call from the contractor.
A tech with Climate Experts came out and had looked at the central unit. While he was testing it, the transformer went bad. It was going bad anyway and I had noticed that it was smoking a little bit so I disconnected the power. He said that he was able to rewire the board and everything to get the fan motor working and replaced a few components.
He was great. I'm an industrial technician, so I was trying to help him figure out what was wrong with the unit and was working with him. He was very knowledgeable. He said that the smart valve on my heater has gone bad and that's what was causing my short-circuiting in my electrical system for the fan. He told me he could wire around that. Since it's hot, we're not gonna use the heater but he said we're gonna need to replace the furnace come time to use the heater and replace the central unit.
He said that we would be fine right now waiting until it would be time to need the heater and then we would need to call back again and have them try and set something up to get the furnace replaced. He also told us what kind of financial impact we could expect from our part like fees and charges for what the warranty wouldn't cover. Now, we can at least prepare for that.
Experience-wise, it was really easy. And it really wasn't slow. It would've been cool if we'd have at least gotten some kinda notice that it may be a day or two before the contractor called us. But from that point of us filing the claim, we really didn't have a lot more contact with American Home Shield until after the tech had come and I had my ratings and review email that I got for him for how the service call went. Our warranty would expire at the end of the year and we're planning on signing a new contract to extend the warranty.

Everything went very good with Whirlpool. It seemed to be a quite a simple fix so it was resolved easily. It was something that I probably could have done myself if I had just taken the time to look into it. I have an ongoing issue with the refrigerator though. My policy with American Home Shield allows for the unit to be replaced if it's felt to be unfixable. I called in about this refrigerator issue back in March and we're almost in August and it's still not fixed. This is my main refrigerator in the kitchen and they've been using the same contractor every time. Every time the contractor comes back, they say that they’ve figured out what it is. They replace it and it doesn't work. So then they come back and say that they will try another thing and order another part. That comes in, they replace it and it doesn't work. It's going on for months and months. I keep saying that maybe they should just call it at this point.
This last time, I called American Home Shield and I said that it has been going on too long. I need to have it replaced. They said that they would put it in another recall work order and have the contractor come back to reassess. If they feel like it can't be done, then it can't be done. So I did that. Immediately, the contractor ordered another part and so they're coming next week to install this new part. I've told the contractor and American Home Shield multiple times that they can try replacing every single piece in the unit just to try. American Home Shield says that there's nothing they can do. I called the contractor and they said that if there’s another part they can try, they're gonna try it.
The contractor thinks they can do it but they have been unsuccessful every single time they've come, which is nine times now. The only good part is that every time they come back, it's been under a recall work order which means I don't have to pay the deductible every time. I've only paid once but at the same time, it's still a long time. It's not necessarily American Home Shield’s fault. They have their own procedures and their procedure dictates that they can't replace something unless they hear from the contractor that it needs to be replaced. So, the onus is on the contractor though I've had extreme frustration dealing with both AHS and the contractor trying to get this issue resolved.

I go online and submit request where I need a plumber or there's something wrong with the fridge or the stove. Then they'll submit something on their end and someone will call me. The contractor will come out and I'd pay my deductible. They come in and fix it. I haven't had a problem with American Home Shield in six years. I'm satisfied with them. When I had a leak somewhere in the bottom of the fridge, Legacy handled my claim real well. They had to come out a couple times because they couldn't fix it. So American Home Shield is taking care of us right now.

My garbage disposal froze up and I couldn't get it to come on. It sounded like it was grinding and clicking but it wasn't working. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield and their tech from Infinity Plumbing showed up. He checked out my disposal and he had to use a tool that goes underneath to reset the blades. He showed me what to do if the problem happens next time. I've been with Home Shield for 20 years now and I've called them out for appliances, my AC, heating and plumbing. They've even fixed my ice maker in my refrigerator freezer a few times already. They've also fixed washers and dryers for me. Their warranty is a very good investment.

So far, there have been two issues and one was the electrical component. The guy came out and was very professional and nice. We had a Generac generator installed and because the dryer pulls so much more power than your normal outlets in the house, they had to put some kind of a transmitter on the wall that would help communicate there. If we were to lose complete power and the generator would kick in, there would be some kind of a delay to allow that power for the dryer to come into effect.
Unfortunately, the issue wasn't anything that happened in the house. It's actually a Generac component that went bad. But luckily, the guy was able to come in and say that he could bypass the whole little Generac component and that way, he could get us our dryer. The only gotcha is gonna be when we do lose power someday and the generator kicks in, we're not gonna be able to use our dryer because this component is no longer connected. But we had it done because the whole house was powered through the Generac and if we were to lose power, having a dryer is probably the least of our worries.
The other claim was for the air conditioner and it is a fairly unit. At this point, there's still a component that's not functioning properly in the AC but it's not essential for here in Florida. I guess it's primarily used for when temperatures are extremely cold. The technician said that it's not necessary and we can always order the parts. So he got our air conditioner running. He was able to change the little capacitor for the air conditioner and then somehow rewire it so that it would work and then we're all in good shape.
Knowing that something is still not working the way it's supposed to is a little bit concerning but he explained it to me and he's the expert so he must know how these things work. So if we don't have to replace that particular part then cool. I'm happy and I'm fine with it. He was a really nice gentleman. He was very kind and professional. He took care of business and since then, the air conditioner has been working perfectly fine.
As far as American Home Shield is concerned, it has worked as advertised. We made the claim through the online feature and within 24 hours, we were notified. The biggest thing that I'm really happy with right now is the communication. Both issues were taken care of expeditiously and we're able to get on to the website easily or on the answering service easily. If the company continues that, that would help a lot for us, the customers. The claims process is an easy step-by-step process that has worked so far for those two issues we've had. We've just had to pay the $100 and then whatever repair was done was covered. So those two claims have been pretty easy so far from a repair standpoint.
Thanks for sharing that feedback. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

I don't know why Home Shield couldn't just replace the washing machine because I can't keep paying that $83. Can’t they just give me another washing machine? I don’t need a washing machine that has 955 different things that it can do. I just wanna get my clothes washed and cleaned, and when it spins, does it all the way.

Something is pending and I’m very much dissatisfied with that. My refrigerator has been going back and forth since the beginning of June. There were four different contractors that came out to try to repair the refrigerator. I'm now being told that the refrigerator cannot be repaired because of whatever issues that they were having. After adding the part to the refrigerator, Home Shield realized that it will be a problem again. So, the end result was we had a new refrigerator. I’m waiting now to get a new refrigerator.
I sat on the phone for three hours to be able to speak with someone. The person that I've spoken was very well-versed and communicated with me, so I was satisfied with her. Customer service is always on point. It's just the being able to reach someone is very difficult. I made an attempt to reach someone again today to let them know which refrigerator I'm interested in getting, and probably I'll be on the phone for another three hours. I'll wait again until Monday.
I did receive a number from the tech that was here last, which when I call that, I’m able to leave my phone number and then someone calls me back throughout the day. And maybe three or more hours later, but at least someone calls back. But with their department that I need to get in contact with, me leaving a number for someone to call back is not an option. I’m able to talk to Home Shield because I've been working from home because of circumstance with the corona. But that's not something that I would normally be able to do. I had the phone on hold, and when the person came on, it was three hours and 15 minutes later. She apologized. When you're trying to get the service for the first time then a chat pops up. But I would need to log into the account to be sure. Based on the email, it indicates that you will need to call that number, and it's on Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Another thing was, the faucet moved from one side to the other. It was very urgent because it was something that is used quite often. I called and I spoke with a lady who mentioned I should expect someone to come out within 24 to 48 hours. The person who called me was within the same day, if not the next day. It was a quick turnaround. The faucet needed to be tightened, but after the tech from High Priority came out and attempted to tighten it, it didn't work. He had to replace the faucet. In addition, there was a leak on the one sink. It was a stopper that needed to be repaired, and everything was completed on that day. I was extremely happy about that. It was a big help.

C & C Appliance Repair is still working on the issue. The first person that worked on it didn't have the parts so we had to wait on that. It's been going on longer than two months. We've heard nothing. My husband called in to see what was going on, and found out that individual had COVID so he was being isolated. Then they sent out another person. He had to do a reassessment because information was not shared across people. Now, he ordered the parts. He is coming back tomorrow to fix the problem.
American Home Shield is okay. It's just the wait time when they sub the work out to somebody. We’re in the midst of a pandemic, so I understand the wait may be a little bit longer. But it'd be good to have communication. Because we're not getting the communication timely. We're having to call and check in on that individual. So it makes it seem like our case is not a high priority for this subcontractor.

For my first time using American Home Shield, the process seemed fine and it was smooth. It was all online which was super easy. American Home Shield texted me and told me the company that was gonna come to do the job but I hadn’t heard back from them. It had been 24, 48 hours and I decided to just call and make the appointment. But they said they were not doing my service. They don’t do garbage disposals. They were trying to get ahold of American Home Shield to let them know.
Thank goodness I took the extra step and called. I know the process for me to even get them to call me back was like me needing to leave a message or ask them to call me. It was because they couldn't give me anything to call them back, so I was so glad. I was like, “Okay, great, ‘cause now I’m gonna handle this and I don’t have to keep waiting even longer.” American Home Shield had to find a new company. They gave me Pipe Down Services and someone came out after three or four days. He changed out my garbage disposal right then and told me to run my water as soon as he was done. He was great.

My husband said Home Shield was too good to be true. I gave it a call and it was pretty accurate of what they say on the commercials on the website. I was getting ready to just burn the AC. I was just so tired of it. We couldn’t narrow down the problem. We had to go down the list of what the A-US tech thought it was. The first was the compressor and then we got that fixed. And then, the motor fan outside kept messing up. The tech thought maybe it was a thermostat, so we changed that. Still not working, so it ended up being the fan motor. Once we got it fixed up, it has been good. We just had some 116 days and it was working. It kept its cool. A-US was very good and very knowledgeable.
Since I'm a first-time homebuyer, I've never had Home Shield before. This is a first time and it has been actually wonderful. My husband likes it. He said it was a good experience. I made a claim online one time. I know Home Shield is not supposed to charge for the same issue, which is the AC, and I got charged, but it was because instead of calling, I did it online and it's an automatic draft. That was the only issue. It's still the AC. It's not anything new. I shouldn't be charged for it. But Home Shield quickly explained to me that it was because I used the automated choice. So the next time, if it's the same issue, call instead of using the internet. Home Shield does what they say they're there for.

I didn't know I had a deductible to pay to have services come out. I thought I pay the insurance and if something went wrong, they'd fix it. They had charged me money for something that caused them about 40 bucks between the capacitor and 15 minutes it took the guy to fix it and put the new capacitor in. The repair’s been great for our recent claim. The house was on sale and somebody came here to put our water faucet back when we moved back in, and they shut off the pipe. Just when we were trying to wash clothes, the water started getting cold. I said, “The water heater’s going out.” So I called American Home Shield and it was just the water shut-off valve. I spent $75 for them put a valve back on. The contractors were very thorough, professional and courteous. Overall, when the people come out, it’s great. Since we're little people on totem pole, because we’re American Home Shield, we get it at a discount. But it takes forever for them to come out sometimes. Last time, I had my air conditioning compressor pop out and it was in the middle of summer last year. I had to wait for the part and it was crazy. If I was a regular customer, I’d be first in line.
The reason why they came in earlier than I requested with my recent claim, was there was a cancellation on an appointment. They were supposed to come in on Thursday, but they came on Tuesday, which was great, but I understand that's part of this whole thing. If they ask me if that could be improved on, it’ll be great. That's the only complaint I have for American Home Shield. I've been working with them for a while and I gotta renew it after September. I would recommend AHS ‘cause they have a great price.

My AC wasn't working, and I called American Home Shield. The only beef I had is how long it took them to get out to my house. I filed the claim on a Tuesday and the contractor didn't get out until Friday. AHS set me up with one company that was supposed to come out, and that company called me the next day to make an appointment and told me they couldn't be out until Friday. They understood that was a long time, so they suggested I call the warranty company back, which I did. The other company that AHS hooked me up with was the same. Friday was the earliest they could get somebody out there. But when the contractors came out, they took care of the issue. It's one of my rental houses. Luckily, it wasn't anything big. It was just the thermostat was bad. They changed that thermostat out and got the system running the same day they were there, so that was good.
As far as the company themselves who came out to do the work when they were there to do the work, I would give them a very high rating. I would give the warranty company a horrible rating. I’ve had a warranty with them for over 15 years with that property. My air conditioner is the original air conditioner from when the house was built in ‘85. They've been out there about four different times to work on the air conditioner and it seems like every time they come out, it's usually a couple days before they can get someone to come out. When they do come out, I had to wait almost two weeks for a part to come in. One time, it was over two weeks that I had to wait for a part to come in. It seems ridiculous to me. I’m not happy with that warranty company but there's not a whole lot of warranty companies to choose from.
I have no qualms with Arctic Air, the contractor that came out this time. In the past, AHS had sent other companies out to do the air conditioner work, and most of those companies will put a sticker on my unit with their name and their company name and phone number. I should call my renter and have him take a picture of my unit, but I've written in marker not to use that contractor anymore. I wrote it in black magic marker. That was kinda their advertising for us to call them back. I don't have a problem with them putting a sticker on my unit. The problem was it was horrible customer service. They never stayed in contact with me to keep me abreast of what was going on with my part. I had to call the warranty company in order to get them to respond after two weeks and then they're like, “Oh, yeah. We got the part now so we’ll be out there tomorrow.”

I called the morning before the vendor shows up to ask what steps do I need to take. After a hour and a half a representative tells me to call a different number. I wait for two hours only to be told I need to have the vendor call the authorization approval number. By now the has done the diagnosis and left as we has already waited 2 hours for this auth. The contractor for my water heater did a wonderful job and they were very responsive. It got serviced the same day. Their responsiveness and service made the contractor great. The gentleman that they sent over was excellent. My water heater was old, so they replaced it. I had a claim for my air conditioner and the contractor scheduled me for Monday because they had to order it. But they found a slot in Saturday and they replaced it on that day. But I've had situations with American Home Shield that nobody came.
About a year and a half ago, I had to call the Arizona Regional Manager for American Home Shield because I have a daughter that was disabled and my air conditioner went out, and the contractor came and fixed it. But they kept charging me $75 for something that never got fixed. We had to pay $75 three times, plus whatever expense I had to pay to get it fixed. I was so upset. So there were some situations that they were not the best person to talk to. But because of the rep, we were able to get somebody outside of American Home Shield to come and fix my air conditioner. It took over a week. My air conditioner went out yesterday and I'm waiting for somebody to be here around noon. I gotta give the tech at least 24 hours.

My family has been dealing with AHS for over 30 years. The customer service has deteriorated completely. The contractors they deal with are unprofessional and seem to dislike working with AHS clients. Today AHS took the $75 service fee from my 96-year-old mother and their hand-picked contractor provided no service for her leaking air conditioning unit. First, the contractor claimed that when he knocked on the door, no one answered. This was untrue. Secondly, he refused to go up on the roof and examine the air conditioning unit, claiming that a ladder had to be affixed. This has never been an issue before, and futhermore, is not allowed by their homeowners association. When my family tried to follow up and reach AHS by phone to find out why, (there is no other way to register a concern), there is over hour of waiting time to speak to someone. This is unacceptable service and a very unkind way to treat an elderly person.

Part of American Home Shield's program is if they can't fix something, they would replace it. They're very good about it. But the term "replace what you have" isn't quite true. They'll replace you with something of similar quality but not a similar fit and finish. If you have a roughly high-quality Maytag dishwasher like ours that failed a number of years ago, they would be willing replace it with a similar quality dishwasher. But they had, which seems to be typical for them, exactly one choice. You could have it and you could have it in white. They didn't seem to care that your entire kitchen was stainless or something else.
It was no better quality. The standard finish is white, stainless or black and all they had was white. We wanted stainless because everything else like our stove and refrigerator was stainless. We didn't want this white blob in the middle of our kitchen. We ended up taking their check which was for a couple of hundred dollars and we bought a unit which ended up being $600 or $700. The money they gave us was what they would have paid for the unit but it wasn’t what its retail was by quite a bit. They said that if we wanted to buy something else, they would just give us a check and we can do that. But they kind of force you into that option by not giving you something that actually replaces what you had like if it was black or stainless or something common. They don't have a similar choice. You can get a similar quality but it was just whatever they happened to have in stock.
We paid the additional out-of-pocket and we got what we wanted. It cost us about another $500 over what they were willing to give us. That was kind of tacky. They say we could take the money then upgrade it any way we wanted. But we didn't want it upgraded. We just wanted to replace the unit that we had. It didn't have to even be the same brand but the same quality and finish. That's been my only complaint with them. We also had another claim where American Home Shield had A-1 Overhead Door Co come out. Our door wasn't working and wouldn't go up and down. The tech assessed the situation, figured out what was wrong, and fixed it. He was professional, friendly, and competent. Just what we wanted.

The AC wasn't running. It wasn’t cooling. When Southern Air came, they were flippant, nonchalant, and not caring. The tech pumped $400 worth of Freon and then left. Two days later, the AC stopped running. And then, they came back and said, “Well, we fixed it. Too bad.” That’s why I cancelled my account with Home Shield.
The issue was a reversing valve. The unit is underneath the house. The tech told me he didn’t want to go under the house so we never really identified the problem. I ended up spending six hours on the phone with Home Shield and I'm not very happy. I was really angry. It was close to 100 degrees that weekend and I live with my mom. And then the way Home Shield addressed that too, with not getting a technician out that weekend, was really bad too. They wanted to know my mom’s personal health history, which is none of their business. It’s a violation of HIPAA. The whole experience was awful. I'm reporting everybody to the Better Business Bureau.

The air conditioner was leaking in the attic and water came through the ceiling. I called American Home Shield and they told me who the contractor was and that they will be calling to set up an appointment. E & A Mechanical sent someone out to look at it and determined that nothing was under warranty. The guy came and he looked at it and he said it was clogged, but he couldn't clear the drain because he didn't have room to get in there to do it and that this was an appointment to see what was wrong and take pictures, and to see if it was under warranty, and that they'd have to schedule another appointment to come out and fix the problem. Then I got a call from American Home Shield that said that my problem has been resolved and that the contractor said they cleared the line and none of the stuff was under warranty.
The answering machine recorded the lady that left me a message and said, "Your claim has been resolved. The contractor completed the work." I called them back and finally got someone on the phone and they said that was not what they said. I said that it was and I have the voice recording if they wanna hear it. Then the rep said the person should've never said that. They claimed that it was just a big misunderstanding. I told them that the tech never cleared the line. He couldn't even test to see if the line was really clogged. The machine was too tight and he didn't wanna blow the water. He didn't have space to blow the water out to the drain and he didn't want to blow it into the box, so he was gonna have to come back.
I got a second opinion from another air conditioning guy that came out and he determined the same issue. But he said he couldn't do anything because he was only a second opinion. He was only allowed to take pictures and give an opinion on what it was, but he couldn't do any work. American Home Shield doesn't allow them to do any work. They just come out and document what they see and if it's the same or a different situation. Then American Home Shield called me and said that the second company said the same thing. They said it was not a claim and asked me if I would like for one of them to come out. I told them no and that I called a different air conditioning company that came out and fixed it in about 20 minutes.
I had American Home Shield 10 years ago when I bought my old house and we had something similar happen. It was the furnace and they wouldn't cover it. They said it was not a warranty issue. So my experience with them has not been great. But I've heard mixed reviews too. So I'm gonna keep them for a little bit just to make sure.

With AHS, I've been on hold multiple times, but I always hold until somebody answers. We've had our oven, dryer and microwave go out in the past. When I was talking to AHS about my dryer, I told them "I bet you guys are glad you don't cover plumbing". The rep then told me that my policy covers that. Most recently, my high-rise toilet wouldn't flush. I called in the issue to American Home Shield. AHS sent Mounts Plumbing and Construction and they replaced my toilet with one that is down load. I will need to replace this myself later on but still it works. I don't have to walk 100 feet to the bathroom anymore which is very good for someone old like me.

Two companies came out on my recent claim with American Home Shield. The first company put a hole on the wall inside the house where the gutters go down into the ground. They stuck a rod down in there and they tried it for a few minutes. They didn't make any progress, so they gave up there. They came inside the house and went down through the main pipe. They had to call another company, so they came out. The guy from the second company came out and he went down through there and he worked and worked and showed effort. The first time he went down, he couldn't get it. He said something was stopping it. He went to the truck and got another piece and put it on the end of that rod and he was able to get through. So, he solved my problem.

Certified Heating & Cooling had always come down and checked my air over the past several years. A lot of times when I call Home Shield, I try to request them. But come find out, Jody Millard is the same as Certified. Maybe they changed names but they have always been professional. They have always come right out and took care of my problem. I just prefer them to come out because they know about my air conditioner. They have come out several times. A lot of times, people don't want anybody. When I found that Jody Millard was the same as Certified, I was comfortable with that.
Recently, the AC wasn't cooling in the main unit on the outside. It wasn't turning. When Jody Millar went in, something had bent. It wasn't making a connection. They replaced it. But it took them a little while this time and it was simply because it was so hot, there was a lot of people that air had gone out, so I understood that. But they gave me a schedule of from 3:00 to 7:00 and they were out here prior to 3 o'clock, so they didn't wait until 7:00. They have always been very good, very professional and tell me exactly what's wrong, fix it in, and what to do. The two guys that came out always come together. They are very professional and very friendly. I love them.

It took all seven working days before he even came in. The ice maker has been working ever since.
The only downside with American Home Shield is that it takes much longer than if you called somebody else. It's not the quickest service. But once something gets fixed, it gets fixed. He was excellent. But sometime this week, I was reaching underneath the sink to get something and noticed that everything under the sink was soaked with water. There was water leaking there. The technicians were on time, really professional, and they answered all of our questions. I was without garbage disposal for about four days. But everything's working great now. It was a painless process and I didn't think it was gonna be that easy.

Submitting a claim is quick and easy. I just pay for it and American Home Shield schedules it. That has been good. American Home Shield is also doing a good job as far as making sure that we get our repair people out quickly. The only thing I wish they would do a little bit better is really get on top of those companies that keep coming out for the same problem. For the refrigerator claim that I did, the company came out four times and it was the same problem over and over again.
We had been told that if they came out on the third time, they should have just replaced the refrigerator but they didn't. I still have the same unit and this time, it's cooling but it's overcooling. We now have a leak inside the door icemaker that is freezing up everything, staying open and dropping ice at random. On the other hand, when Elite Heating & Air Conditioning came out, they did a good job. The technician knew what he was doing and he finished it off really quickly. He told us what was going on and off he went.

I had some electrical work that needed to be done and Electrical Service Professionals did a great job. There were two guys and they were very friendly. Some of the switches in my house weren't wired correctly and they fixed everything quick and fast. I bought the house in April and I’ve had American Home Shield since then but I've had other experiences with them. Every time somebody comes out, somebody has to come behind them and re-fix it. The HVAC guy was nice but he didn't know exactly what to do. He came out on a Friday and then on Saturday, it was hot in my basement. They came out a second time but they didn't fix it. On the third time, the boss came out and fixed it, which was good and it was no big deal. If you don't know, then you don't know. I don't have a problem with that as long as the issue gets fixed.
With my plumbing, it was terrible. I was overseas and I just got home June 19th of last year. So, my mother was here when she scheduled the first plumbing appointment. They came out and then the problem was still existing, so they had to come out again for the same toilet issue. They fixed that and then, I discovered a leak from the Whirlpool to my master bedroom. They came out and they were supposed to fix the toilet again because I told them that when I flush it, I have to do it twice. The guy was working on the Whirlpool tub at the time and he was working on that for about two hours. I asked him about the toilet after he finished and he said that there was nothing he could do about it. He told me how he used the bathroom. He said that he would always flush while he was using it and then flush again at the end.
I take showers mostly but I told my mother to take a bath in the Whirlpool just to see if the problem was fixed. So, she took a bath and I went downstairs in my basement, and there was water leaking on my floor. The reps had already cut a hole in my ceiling to look for the problem and then they said he fixed the problem. He then came and put the drywall back in the ceiling. Now, it's leaking again. I just moved in so I didn't have any furniture there but my 82-inch screen TV just came in today and that's it's going on the wall where that leak is coming from. So, I have to delay my installation on my TV until they get this plumbing issue fixed.
I asked American Home Shield to outsource it to another company because I didn't wanna deal with these same guys that keep coming in my house. They said that it will delay the situation so I said it was alright. Somebody's supposed to come again tomorrow and we'll see how that goes. Hopefully, they'll get it fixed and don't have to cut my ceiling again. It is American Home Shield’s fault because they are outsourcing contracts to the cheapest bidders.

Cross Country did really well especially under the circumstances and kind of getting into American Home Shield. There was an issue with the internal pieces and Cross Country was saying that the outside unit was probably gonna go out. Sure enough, it did. Understandably, American Home Shield didn't want to pay for it until it totally went out so Cross Country had to make two different trips. We were without really good air conditioning for about 10 days one time, and about another 10 days another time.
We had a policy with American Home Shield when we lived in Abilene so we probably had one about 12 years. We use them so often that they called us high risk because when you look at what we've paid in versus what they've had to pay out for claims, they lost money on us. Ours is a little bit higher than the others. But now, at this house, a lot of our pieces have been replaced. We may look at others that are a little bit cheaper. I live in a small town so it'd be nice if American Home Shield could respond a lot faster to some of the claims. There are times that they can't find anyone in the area so we have to go find someone. It would also be nice if they expand their network of providers.

We also had them previously at a house we owned before for quite a few years. It was really easy doing my claim online. But I had an issue where I ended up having to call American Home Shield and get the initial company assigned to us switched to Cutting Edge. It was because I couldn't get in contact with the people that American Home Shield initially picked. A company not contacting you is probably not a good thing. But I can understand the circumstances. It's COVID. People are working from home and there are not that many people to work.
In order for me to call American Home Shield and speak to a live agent, I stayed on hold for an hour. It was a lot. I was at work. Luckily, we didn't have anything to do and I put them on speakerphone. American Home Shield changed the contractor to the Cutting Edge people and they were awesome. They came out to fix our air conditioning. I would recommend them 100%. Their tech was very respectful and I liked his manners. Manners are very important to me. When I make claims to American Home Shield, I go through the automated system but sometimes, I speak to a representative. Both would give me a name and a phone number. For the electrician, I talked to someone and I was given the name of the company. They said that I could give them a call if I wanted to but they would respond to me within the proper time. So. I just gave them a call and they set it up for me.
DT Electric came out because I had some problems with my electric system. This was the first time I've seen electricians at AHS but they seemed very efficient and they took care of the problem. The switch was kicking on and off. They changed the plug in the bedroom and that right there was supposed to take care of the problem on that side of the house. Normally, when they come out, they would check everything to make sure everything is right but I said that I didn’t have any problems on the other side of the house there so, they didn't.
I had a plumber come in and after he put the garbage disposal in and flipped the switch in the breaker, he said that I have an electrical problem. I said that I would call the electrician back since I still got a warranty there. So the electrician came back out, looked at it and he said that it was not an electrical problem but a plumbing problem. I asked if I have to call the plumber back and he said he would take care of it because it was just a simple wire that needs to be moved off the other wire. So, that's what he did and he knocked it out. It was a done deal. He was fantastic, in and out quick, and was very efficient. So, I will use them all the time. There was no problem at all.
I don’t understand the plumber though because he had worked here before under American Home Shield and he seemed very efficient. On that day, he came to repair the handle on the faucet. He said it was loose and he tightened it up. But every three to four days, I have to re-tighten it. My wife is saying that it wasn’t right but I gotta live with it. I'll just tighten up every three days or so.

They didn't have any in stock. It was a matter of a few days until they ordered it. They put that solution which was supposed to be a sealant leak, some kind of special solution they had that if it's leaking a little bit to seal it up. I've used some in cars before and it seemed to still be working good, so it must have solved the problem. The technician was knowledgeable, nice, and polite. I think he was either owner or a high up in the company with the way he talked. He knew what he was talking about. If it starts leaking again, he said to give them a call and they'll come back and check where it was leaking before. Then if it's still like that, they're gonna have to replace it. But he very seriously doesn't think it's gonna leak anymore.

It was a couple of days that I hadn't heard anything back from Home Shield. I called them to get some information on where were we at, what I needed to get done, and when we were gonna get it put in. That took a little bit. The kid I spoke to on that particular day had said that the information was mailed to me but I couldn't get it emailed to me.
After we got that cleared, he said that I could contact Phil's Good and they gave me the information. We talked about it and scheduled a day for them to come out and fix it. I have a couple of issues with American Home Shield. One, I went into a contract situation with them initially for a certain amount, and somewhere along the way later, they changed the monthly payments without my knowledge. I found out after the fact. Two, they changed the initial contract I went into and wrote me a new contract with a new account for whatever reason. They didn't explain that to me. Three, they have sent people out here, but I haven’t been very pleased with them. I've had issues with the companies that American Home Shield have sent out here in the past, and I have reported that to them about how non-professional they seemed to be.
The last time I had some complaints to American Home Shield, it was like talking to the wall. I didn’t have anyone to mediate the conversation to the point that it was me against them. I don't know who and where American Home Shield gets these small companies from, but the contractors seem to be low-end individuals. Their margin of operation is not as large as the established companies as well. They're mom-and-pop type of units and I have no problem with small contractors. However, I have a problem with contractors who do not respect the household and not only that, dispatched work instead of following through to make sure everything is functioning properly.
These small companies that they send out are not very responsive as far as doing a follow-up and completing the work. Either they come out and leave a mess and they won't clean up behind them or they are slow in responding. One time, my air condition unit wasn't coming on. It wasn't blowing cold air in any form or fashion and SBS found out that the fan had become entangled on a wire. It shut the system down. When SBS repaired that, they went upstairs to check the unit to see if it was working. It was, but they failed to notice and inform me that there was a leak coming from that unit. Since there was a leak, after a couple days, we noticed that the pan in which the unit was supposed to drip into overflowed.
In doing so, the water saturated the floor as well as the bedroom walls upstairs. Upon which, I called the company a couple of times to come back out to look at the damage that was done, but I never got a callback. The SBS guy who came out and did the repair was nice and he was very cordial. The company as a whole though did not respond to my request for them to come back out and check the unit again. SBS never came back. Since the pan was dripping and the water damage was great, I had to follow another avenue as far as getting the problem resolved. I had to file a claim to get my bedroom repaired.
American Home Shield had a water restoration company come out. They dried out the attic, the bedroom and the carpet and they've torn out the sheetrock and the walls that were damaged. The sheetrock around the closet area was damaged and the closet door had to be removed too. The whole ceiling in the bedroom had to come out as well. It cost me $2,800 for water restoration and then it cost me another $3,000 for the wall, the sheetrock and everything else that was damaged. Also, before the water restoration people could complete their work, I had to have our AC man come out here to remove and replace the air conditioning unit, which was another $1,000. This was done so that the water restoration people could tear the saturated floor out and put a new floor down.
That AC person put the air condition back in place last Thursday. Today, I have an appointment with another restoration company to put that sheetrock and paint and ceiling fan back. We’re waiting for the restoration people to come out here to finish off the work that was caused by that leak that was not repaired. So, what recourse do I have about American Home Shield since the representative that they sent out did not respond back to my request to come out here? I’m getting the bills now, so I’m waiting to get all of it before I contact American Home Shield. I have taken pictures of the damage and everything that has gone into this process, but I was so frustrated to the point that I had to have something down right then, and I couldn’t figure out what to do.

City First Electric was very helpful when they were came out the first time. But the second time, they didn't know what the problem was and they didn't really diagnose it nor do anything. The issue was with the electrical sub-panel on the side of our house. We have a pool and that sub-panel is for our pool filter and pool heater. It also controls the yard lights and the pool’s lights. It even has something to do with the sprinkler system.
We have a panel inside the house that we can turn the pool filter on with. But now that won't work unless we do it manually. There must be some kind of a short or something inside that sub panel because now it's to the point where we have to turn everything off and when we want the sprinklers or the filter to come on, we have to manually turn them on. We were hoping that the technician could tell us if it was something that could be fixed of if it was covered, but he just said that he didn't really know and left.
We had someone come out for our air conditioner and for the pump for our spa. But they didn't fix anything. They said that it was something else so we just hired somebody and had somebody to come do it. Out of all the times that we've called American Home Shield, they've fixed something twice. I'm a mortgage lender and I’ve got clients that buy houses all the time, but I don't recommend American Home Shield to them at all.
The reps from American Home Shield are always nice enough when you call them, but the contractors that they send out are companies that don’t have a lot of business. The very first time I ever had to call was for our garage door and the guy that came out looked at it and said that it seemed to be fine to him so he just sprayed a little oil over it. But he also said that I was going to need something else in the future. So he gave me his personal cell phone number and told me that he could do that on the side for me and he would give me a better price if I was to come to his company. They almost deny everything that they come out for but then they want you to do something on the side with them.

The first guy that came out for our AC was on January 27th. He got here well after the four-hour window that they give you. So I ended up sitting around waiting for him. He got here, he's a young kid by himself, hooked up all his things to it, said, "No, you're not low on Freon or anything. Your compressor's stuck. I can put a hard start on it which was a little contraption you put on to give it more voltage to the compressor." He then turned it on and we held our hand up to the vent, and it started to blow. He left and 10 minutes later, it wasn't doing anything.
So then, we called back, "Hey, that didn't do anything." Then, the contractors didn't come out the next day. The next guy came out on June 30th and then he hooked his stuff up, and soon he said, "No, the first guy that came out diagnosed it wrong." The first guy added what they called 420. It needed 410A. He went up in the attic and said it needed a new evaporator coil. He left.
Then, American Home Shield sent a different company out here. The guy went up in the attic but wasn't here very long. He said, "Yeah, needs a coil." It was like he was with climate control. This was on July 14th. He added 410A, a little bit and he said he'd write it up and see what the warranty company would say. A couple of days later, an expert from Louisiana showed up, and nobody told him anything. He was like brand-new and I told him the story. He went up in the attic for a while, and he finally got up there with his torch. He said he plugged the leak in some valve, but it didn't do any good.
Then, another guy came out. The last guy that came here was really good. First of all, he had to correct everything that the previous guy did. There's a cover that goes over the unit upstairs, which keeps the air blowing into the vents and that was completely hanging off. The screws were broken and all the air from the AC was blowing in the attic. So this guy patched all this up and I helped him up in the attic 'cause he had to tape everything. He set all his things up on the machine and he was doing the right kind of pressure.
I was hoping he'd come back 'cause I was monitoring what it was doing overnight. It was a weekend, so I called him on a Monday and he said, "Oh no, I quit." The last guy that was here that was good, but he quit. So I've gone with somebody else to fix it. Three of the contractors said it needed a coil, but nobody ever ordered it. Everybody that showed up was brand-new.

Submitting claims to AHS has been very convenient. I usually go online, submit a new request, and they respond right back. They recently sent 1st Choice Contracting out for a plumbing issue. She was a very nice lady but then I ended up having to put in a service call for the HVAC in which I had to pay a second fee. The HVAC guy came the next week and fixed it. I'm a divorced woman living alone so I don't have very much mechanical mind and every time something breaks, it's been very helpful to have this coverage.

My dishwasher wouldn't drain and after a claim submission, George from Accord Appliance came out. He was really good and professional. He looked at the dishwasher. He also tried to see if there was a block in the washing machine. He said it sounded like a motor was going out. He had one so he changed it. But we found out that it wasn't the motor. The tech then thought there was a block in the hoses and he had to order a new one. But it turned out it wasn’t the hose. Finally, he was able to really find the issue and he explained this to us. He was able to fix it.
I've got a couple of things so far with American Home Shield. A contractor came out and fixed my heater when it went out. They were quick. I was with another home warranty company before and they were terrible. That was why we had to switch to American Home Shield. So far, customer service is prompt and quick. The service is great. I thought my recent claim was handled fine. However, when the vendor came out, I had and still have a leak in the commode area of my master bedroom. When the tech looked at it, he didn't do anything. He said he couldn't remove the carpet and they were restricted from doing that. At this point, I was okay with them pulling up the carpet to repair the appliance. I would’ve gotten the carpet stitched back down or intact on my own without holding them in any obligation. But I heard what he said and I did follow up with them.
I like American Home Shield and they do a very good job. I appreciated them responding and saying that they didn't do anything. They did refund my initial upfront deposit, which started off many years ago. It started from $35 and it’s now up to $100. I dropped them before and I’ve gone with another group for one year, but I came right back to them. I highly recommend American Home Shield. They hold the consumer in check by making sure that we can show records that our particular appliances are being looked at and are adjusted an annual basis or whenever the last time we had a problem. So my track record is good with them. I haven't needed them a whole lot, but I'm satisfied with what they've done and that’s why I'm still with them.

ARO did a good job. The claim was for a broken handle on my dishwasher and they were able to successfully resolve it. It was pretty timely and they were good with the updates so I was happy with that. Sometimes some of the people American Home Shield contracts with aren't as good, but this one was. We started our policy in August 1st of last year and we did renew for this next year ‘cause they did a good job and were fair in what they had to provide us throughout the year. Filing a claim is pretty easy. They give you a lot of ways to do that.
There is an existing repair request I have out there that's under some sort of review process. It's been three weeks since the tech came out here and assessed it. I'm a little dissatisfied with that. I called yesterday to get a checkup on it, and there was an hour long wait to talk to someone just to see what the status of an existing claim is and to get more information on it. Overall, I've had a good experience, but this latest one with why there's a three-week delay on getting approval for a part that needs repaired on our oven is unknown to me at this time. That’s probably a bit of a downside for us, but hopefully I'll be able to connect with someone to figure out what the holdup is there.
There was one thing I had earlier in the year where they had a hard time finding someone who would fix the issue. They would not authorize it. I’d contacted another company who said that they knew what was wrong and could fix it, but American Home Shield was saying they had to go through all of their vendors before they could allow me to use them. I hired them so I ended up just canceling the claim and paid them myself to fix this since I had like four other different contractors come out who were unable to fix the issue. I just gave up after that. Despite those two not so great experiences, American Home Shield is probably one of the better companies out there who do provide home warranty services. With any of the other things I had, it has been good with them so far. The fact that if the same thing breaks within a 60 or 90-day period that they will send someone back out without an additional charge is nice as well.
Thanks for letting us know how everything is going so far. Taking care of our customers is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with your experience up to this point. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Take Care.

The contractors that came out recently for our claim did a really good job. The lady came out and took the part out, and then the guy came back out and put it back in. They were waiting for me. We found some damage once they removed the part, but I had to get something fixed before they could come back out. But as soon as I got it repaired, they came right back the next day. It was very timely.
I've had AHS for almost 18 years and I haven't had any problems. They’ve been great. They've also been prompt regarding sending contractors out. If their contractor couldn’t fix it, someone else would. The prices have gone up a little bit, but they haven't been too bad. I have heard horror stories, but I have not experienced anything. So, I’m pleased. I've referred them to other family members.

Some printed circuit board had to be changed and he had some minor issue going through it. He told me he had to talk to somebody. Still, the job was done and the icemaker started working, so overall, I'm happy with whatever he did.

I do my claims online with American Home Shield. The website is fine and it works fast. I made a claim for a refrigerator repair and SNL Appliance Repair came out in three or four days. The tech was good and so far, my refrigerator is still working. The only thing is there is still a lot of lag time in making a claim by the time you get something fixed. But that's not necessarily American Home Shield's fault. A lot of it is parts availability and they can't do anything about that.

My husband was in the military so we had been in a lot of houses over the years. We purchased this one a year and a half ago and spot-on, did great. American Home Shield was part of the purchase where the sellers would pay for the first year, which ended in December. We picked it up and have had it since January 2020. We had two claims and for the air conditioner, we called AHS because we felt like the house was not keeping up with the cool air. So the technician came right in. It needed a little bit more Freon but to keep in mind as well with the heat that we have out there, he checked everything and cleaned out one of the drain lines, which also helped, so it's working much better now. The way they handled it was outstanding.
On the other hand, it has been a nightmare on the electric. The guy from the company they sent out was a joke. He was telling us how we needed to rip the wall out and he wanted to cut a hole through the wall with the cabinet. It's a $375,000 house, which, in the area we live in, is good. I told him that it passed inspection and they never had any problems with it before. It was simply the switch that you go to turn on for your garbage disposal that went dead. So, it's not anything major. Rather than get a plumber out to do the garbage disposal, we have to make sure that it's not the electrical line because that was bizarre that it would go out like that. So, the guy spent an hour here doing everything ridiculous. He said how he was gonna have to get up with somebody else in the company to talk with them about it. I said that there was not gonna be a hole in my wall.
We had a flickering kitchen light and when he went to fix it, he said he didn’t have time for that because he got two other calls that night. So, it left us with a bad taste in our mouth. That was on a Thursday so we waited for the next week for somebody else to call us from his company. They never did so we let a week go by and we called American Home Shield. The rep apologized profusely and she said that if she could keep me on hold, she was gonna call that company. She did and she said that the company was gonna send somebody else out.
Another week goes by and there was nobody. So I called American Home Shield again. It was quite a wait to have to get through to them so that was a little bit problematic to me to put in for a service call. It then went back and forth. Three and a half weeks later, somebody else was given to us only to have that bad company call the next day and tell us that they were told they have to come and fix it. I told American Home Shield I didn't want them at my house because he came back and lied to them. He said that there was a nail or screw that went through the line. I said there's no way to even hang anything and there was nothing that went through it. On the paperwork he gave us, it never even said that. So, we were bothered by that and there was some company that came out and did it. The guy said that there was nothing wrong with this line at all.
To put it in a nutshell, it's a little bit difficult getting up with American Home Shield and after this ordeal, I talked with my husband. I said I would prefer to cancel it because I wanna be able to call who I wanna call for a contractor because this is not something we wanna go through. Also, we had AHS on an automatic draft for them to take out payments and when we had to pay $75 for the electrician and then $75 for the heating and air guy to come out, they drafted that but somehow, that knocked us off the automatic draft where we were paying our payment every month on that. So, they're sending me all these late notices and since I'm on an automatic draft, I was questioning why it wasn't taken out. So, I’m done.

American Home Shield's contractor, Sun Heating and Air came out for my AC unit. The tech who came was an older gentleman who was very professional. He told me the issue was wear and tear on my compressor motor. Even when it was raining, he was out working and got the job done. He finished in under an hour. My AC has been working great since then.
However, the level of service of AHS depends on whether or not we get somebody who speaks English. A lot of times, we get people who don't understand what we're trying to say. We've been very dissatisfied with the plumbing service that we got through AHS, Down the Drain Plumbing. They've sent the same people out multiple times and they could never get it right. The techs from there just come out, look around, say everything is fine then leave. We've had six different service calls for them to come out and it's been terrible. We finally managed to get someone different to come out but this issue has been going on for about six months. All of our clothes in the basement are ruined and there is black mold buildup from all the moisture.

I would give Altstadt Plumbing Service an A-plus. They've come out before, and I requested them because I like them so well. That's the only plumber in town in Home Shield that I really like. They're easy to work with and talk to on the phone. They come through with everything they say they would do and they handle the whole thing very well. They fill us in on knowledge, tells us what they're doing, and they get the job done. There were drain stoppages in the house. The drains wouldn't drain out to the sewer. The main problem turned out to be the bathroom sink and the clog had gotten so bad there. Once Altstadt cleared that one out, everything was fine.
When I would call in, Home Shield automatically assigned me this really bad plumber in Illinois, and the house was in Indiana. That has happened twice and I've had to call back. I hardly get the actual person I want to service. The last time when I had this most recent call, I said, “Can you designate Altstadt as my preferred plumber?” Because then the next time I call in, if I had a problem, it would automatically assign them to my case. I'll find out next time I need a plumber. Hopefully, it won't be for a while though. Other than that, I've had several claims with Home Shield and I've been pleased every time. They've done a good job for me.

There was a problem with the damper of my refrigerator. The door didn't open. I did a claim for that and American Home Shield's online option was okay. Trying to get through on the phone is a little ridiculous because nobody ever answers and you’re waiting and waiting. For this claim, I got an email saying I would be contacted. But I didn't wait and I called. I was without a refrigerator for many weeks. Being diabetic, I'm supposed to have healthy things and not eat bread and stuff. But because of the COVID, the service company only had one person that worked with cooling. They were backed up.
I called and demanded that American Home Shield find me somebody sooner. But it still took the tech forever. The tech was lovely and very nice. He informed me. But when I asked if he had the needed parts, he didn't and they had to order the parts. If they were going to come here and do a refrigerator, they should have had the majority of the parts needed for cooling. I then had to wait another two weeks. I'm not very happy with the response.
American Home Shield's response time is okay. But when they don't have enough people in their group to come out and help you, it’s very frustrating. Being without a refrigerator is a big deal and I would consider it an emergency. You can't have dairy or anything. Also, I am without a refrigerator for weeks and I'm paying. On top of that I have to pay another $125 just for someone to come out. It's a bunch of crap.
As far as dealing with American Home Shield, it wasn't their rep's fault. I spoke to her numerous times. She was trying to help me as much as she could to try to find someone. American Home Shield is not at fault too but they should have more people and find more people to get to customers sooner, even if they have to go a little further to find them, especially when it’s an emergency.

This is where the problems began. Through the whole process we have been in contact with Sun Coast. AHS orders their own parts after the service request has been approved. 4 days later, after we had to call AHS because nothing was happening and Sun Coast could not get through to them, it took AHS another day to approve and order parts.
2 days later the compressor shows up to Sun coast ordered by AHS. Problem again, no fan. Sun Coast calls, we call again, we requested escalation. They could not give us any information. Another day passes, same thing, ask for a manager or supervisor...nothing. Today July 23rd, same thing, and we were told the part should of arrived on the 21st of July. AHS doesn't know why or where the fan is. They can't tell us when our AC might be fixed. They can't tell us when a part will arrive. They can't tell us what might of happened to the part they ordered, but they cannot see where it could of went. We are now on day 9 of no A/C. Here's a breakdown of the air temps....not real feel but air temps since the 14th... 93 deg...93 deg...97 deg...88 deg...90 deg...90 deg...86...86...88 and today 93.
We have a child in the house, 3 pets and my wife is working from home. There is a pandemic going on and now a tropical storm in the gulf and not once have we been told anything about any resolvment of issues. Not once has a manager or supervisor called us back. Not once have we been told at the very least a time frame. NOTHING.
On top of that per our contract we must pay for the freon to be reinstalled. 595.00 worth of R22 freon. After all this I believe this fee should be waived due to the incompetence of AHS in resolving this issue and the compounding cost of electricity we are running with the temps the way they are for refrigerators, fans etc. We have not even been able to cook a meal inside on the stove because of the high temps. We have asked for escalation and nothing has happened.

In truth, they cover almost nothing. They charge you $75 BEFORE the contractor tells you, guess what, your problem isn't covered by American Home Shield. Then, when you try to get a refund for your $75, there is almost no way to contact AHS and get a live person to help you-- everything is set up to submit service requests only. I have been on hold for over an hour trying to get my refund. They should NOT be permitted to charge you before the contractor visit. We have had two repairs done since we purchased our home a year ago, both contractors AHS referred were sketchy and I felt uncomfortable with them, plus there were add-on costs for the repairs, one was over $200. You are much better off finding a vetted repair person over a service like Yelp.

I called them in June because my AC was not working. It wasn't cooling. They came out and they said that I was low on Freon. They checked the system in the attic and they said it was okay. It was just the Freon and something else he said. But, he fixed it and it worked for a little while and then it went out again. I called American Home Shield. They also did another service request for Advanced Comfort to come out.
Advanced Comfort came out and they said that the first technician misdiagnosed my problem, that there was a leak in my coil system in my attic and that they would be ordering a part. It would take about five days for it to come in. I asked them if they could expedite the order because I'm a dialysis patient and I take my dialysis at home. They apologized and they said that they'd see what they could do, but they couldn't guarantee anything.
I called American Home Shield and I explained the situation with them, that I was a dialysis patient and that I really needed to be in my home. I couldn't incur a lot of expenses at a hotel trying to make an accommodation. I was out of my home from last Tuesday until yesterday, waiting for this part. I asked him if my service request could be expedited, if I could be placed at the top of the list, and they said that the earliest that they can get to me is on Monday, which was this past Monday. They said that they understood, but that there was nothing that they can do. I said, “Are you going to reimburse me for my expenses out of my out of my home?” They said no. They said they couldn't do that, then that the earliest that they can get to me was Monday not unless somebody canceled Friday.
I asked to speak Gus. The person on the phone said that Gus was not available, that he was out on a service call. They tried to call them and he didn't call back. I said, “Can you please leave Gus a message to ask him to call me back?” I called back in about an hour with my dad on the phone and my dad talked to Gus and explained the situation, that I was on dialysis and that I needed to be in my home. If they could expedite my service call. Gus said that he would see what he can do, but he couldn't guarantee anything.
I was out of my home until yesterday. The guys came and repaired the AC. I thanked them. I said, “I appreciate your effort.” I said, “I don't agree with how your company handled my service request, but I like them, but not Advanced Comfort.” They knew that I had a medical emergency with my dialysis and they treated me just like any other customer even though this was a repeat. I was upset because if my problem was correctly diagnosed in June, I wouldn't have been so displaced.
We do apologize that your a/c issue was not properly handled. We would love to assist more in this matter to come to a resolution. My name is Robert and I will be assisting you further.

Emerald Pools was fabulous. They came out in a timely manner. They took care of business. The gentleman that was here fixing my pool pump was super kind. I would totally have them come out again if needed. This claim with American Home Shield went way smoother than my claim with the AC. My claim for the rekey was pretty smooth, but the one with the air conditioner was not great. It wasn't American Home Shield's fault necessarily, but the company that they chose. It was not a good company at all. I didn't realize I could choose a company, so I did more review work on when I chose Emerald Pools.
With COVID going on, the gentleman from the company who came out to look at the AC didn't have a mask. He didn't have anything covering his shoes. We have two hatches that go up into my attic where the air conditioning units are, and I live in Las Vegas, so we had some issues with the AC cooling. He peaked up there and said, "There's not a safe way for me to get to it." I said, "Aren't there two by fours up there?" He said, "Well, yeah, but we're not allowed to walk on the two-by-fours." I said, "Well, what are you supposed to walk on? I mean, that is the roof structure." He ended up coming down and taking a picture of something. It was where one of the AC ducts connected to the actual HVAC unit. He ended up getting up there because he had a picture with him. I asked how did he take the picture if he didn't get up into the attic. He said, "Well actually, all of this is installed all improperly."
I told him, "Well, this house was built in the 80s. I'm sure that it's probably HVACs and AC ducts that had rules that were back in the 80s." He said, "Well, everything was just installed improperly." I said, "Okay, well, I don't see how we're gonna get any further than where we are now. So you are more than welcome to just leave." He denied my claim. I called the 800 number for American Home Shield and they said, "Well, we can't send anybody else out there unless you pay another $75." I said, "I'm not paying another $75. I mean, the gentleman said he couldn't get up there, and then he did get up there, and then he's telling me that everything was installed improperly. I don't trust his judgment and neither should you."
His whole denial was that he couldn't get up into the attic because there wasn't a safe way to get up there, but he told the company that he denied the claim because of something else. It was not good. I had to call my real estate agent, but he got me to a different young lady in a different office, and she was able to help me get a different technician out here and not pay another $75. He went up there just fine. He went up in both hatches. He said, "Here's exactly what's going on." I said, "Do you believe that anything up there was installed incorrectly?" He said, "No, no, no. This is just how they did it back in the 80s." He was a super great guy.
With the amount of time I spent on the phone with American Home Shield's 800 number, it was about a little over three hours in total. It was an hour and a half wait and discussion, and then the next day, it was an hour and a half wait and discussion. That was really a huge headache. I'm thankful that my agent sent me over to somebody else. What I needed was very simple. I just wanted a second opinion. I just wanted a more reputable company to come out and take a look at it because I just did not trust this one guy's judgment.

Our AC went out so I filed the claim online and AHS scheduled a technician within 48 hours. Everyday Heating and Cooling came out and they had to fix both my units. One was just a capacitor and that was fixed the same day. They ordered a part on the other one and that took probably a month. Waiting was the worst part, but that's nobody's fault. They ended up replacing a compressor and they were pretty good about it. Having American Home Shield saved my butt. I like it. Otherwise, we’d probably still be saving to get stuff fixed. A part of the reason we decided to buy a warranty again was because our AC unit's 2004 when they were put so they're getting bad. The last three years, I've had to have it worked on. This year, I was done with it.
Thanks for sharing that feedback. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

The fridge stopped working and the thermostat wasn't cooling. We lost a bunch of food and then I reached out to American Home Shield. They got with Callahan and it took quite a while. It took at least a month or so to get it fixed. Callahan is a neighbor of mine and he lives in the same community. So most of the people go to him for their appliance issues. I happen to have American Home Shield and then he also works with American Home Shield. What I felt was maybe there should have been an option where you can pick and choose your provider by yourself on the website. With the whole coronavirus situation, we were on the call with these agents for sometimes 12 hours, 13 hours and I will just leave the phone there like that.
I tried thinking it might be low volume at night time, but the same thing. It just goes to some other country. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you get somebody on shore, here in the US. That's when you get most of the things done, in US. But, it was frustrating as it is. Not just that, there's no backup or response back. I call somebody to check my AC and to see why it wa's not cooling properly. That person came in and wrote me a quote for the $100 and left. I was like, "I call you to see if there is anything wrong." All he said was the thermostat was in the wrong place.
I said, "The thermostat has been there for the last six years now. Why would it suddenly impact me now?" So I called American Home Shield and they said, "Okay, so don't worry, we're not gonna charge you another $125, you're gonna have a follow-up visit.” But then nothing. Nobody called back to me. That has been my challenge. Right now, I believe my contract also has expired with American Home Shield and I don't even know if I want to extend with them or not.
They have a chat option and the chat option would come in and go as well. They were overwhelmed with the chat windows so they just took out the option. They were added periodically and whenever they would like to add it, the support has not been so great. I get it that it’s coronavirus. But unfortunately, it has been bad support that we got from American Home Shield, which is why I'm really not thinking of renewing my contract with them. I've been there for five years now. But this time around, it's so bad.

The fan up in the attic had some water in it and I wanted to make sure everything was on the up and up. A technician from Quantum Mechanics came and he was professional. He answered some of the questions I had for him too. He said the water was due to condensation and he told me how to remedy everything in order to stop that from happening. At one time, I thought it was clogged, and he said that it was, but somehow it unclogged itself. Apart from that, my experience with American Home Shield lately has been poor. Another claim never got finished, and they've given me nothing but excuses and different answers. Some of the people I've talked to with them were absolutely rude and tried to put words in my mouth. I was raised that if you have nothing nice to say, it's better you don't say anything and I don't have anything nice to say right now.

I had a leakage in my sink and submitted the claim online. Everything was easy on the website. They told me to expect the contractor within 24 hours and they were in time to the timeframe they gave me. The contractor was good overall. They fixed everything right. Before they came in, I had to manually put a bucket and drop rags and take the water out. I've been checking to see if there's any leakage but everything's good. AHS was fast and responsive.

The refrigerator was leaking water all over the floor. I submitted a claim through the American Home Shield website. The website was good. It was very easy to use. The contractors came out, looked at it, ordered a part and then came back and installed the part. They were very friendly and responsive. I was impressed with them. Now, the refrigerator is working fine. It's definitely not leaking anymore and we have ice again. We've been with AHS for a number of years and they've always been very responsive and has paid out on the claims, so it's been outstanding. I would recommend AHS to my friends, that would save them money.

American Home Shield sent Stepan's A/C & Heating. I like them. They were terrific. They came out right away. As soon as we asked for help, they called us and said, "We're coming," within one day. Then they came out and fixed the issue. They had to order a part, the part came in, then they came back and fixed it. Then it went out again. So I just called them up. I said, "Look, your guy just fixed it but it's not working." So they came back out and they found that some wires had come loose. They fixed it again on their own and it's been fine.
However, American Home Shield has let me down. My washing machine that wouldn't agitate. Sometimes it would go a minute or so and then it would stop. The washing machine wasn't agitating. So I called up and they sent somebody out from Active Appliance. The first guy came out, he looked at it and said, "You're right, the washing machine is not working properly. It doesn't agitate. We'll order a part. We'll come back and fix it as soon as the part comes in." That was on April the 2nd. Two months later, I waited and I figured because of the coronavirus, maybe there was some problem. I called up Active Appliance and I said, "Where have you been?" Then I called up American Home Shield and right away they said they'll be right out the next day. They said they had the part.
What happened was the first guy from Active Appliance said that the transmission was in really bad shape. It was slipping and that's why it wouldn't agitate properly. But they would order the new transmission and they'd come out and fix it. Two months later, they hadn't come out. Finally, they came out. There were three guys, and I asked them, "Did you bring the part?" "Yes, we brought the part." They went and fooled around in the back of the thing and came out after about 30 minutes. The guy that came out to fix it said, "The part doesn't fit and there's rat infestation." Now, there was nobody else that ever said rat infestation until they came out and said that.
So then American Home Shield declined my orders. But I then said I disagree and I asked for a second opinion. I said, "I'll pay for the second opinion." They got Magic Appliance and Magic Appliance came out and they said, "There's no rat infestation, the washing machine doesn't work properly because of the transmission." They said that they would notify American Home Shield and they did. Then American Home Shield told Magic Appliance, "We're not gonna fix it because it still works." In their eyes, it still works and until it totally shuts down, they're not gonna fix it. I called up and talked to like three people and they all sympathize with me. I said, "Look, if my heater doesn't work, everything goes on but it doesn't heat. Well, my washing machine, everything works but it doesn't wash."
They didn't buy it. The guy from Magic Appliance called up and talked to four people. They told them, "No, that's the way it is. We're not gonna honor it until it breaks down totally." But he told them that it was really not working properly. I called up American Home Shield again, and they said they'll look into it. The guy from Magic Appliance called me back and said he talked to somebody at American Home Shield and now there's no record of all of these things. They were totally missing. I'm very frustrated and I'm gonna cancel my contract.

There was a leak in the roof. It was leaking to my living room from our ceiling. When I initially called to file a claim, I explained to their rep the situation. I noted that it was an AC unit since that was the only thing up in my attic. The process was pretty good but their rep gave me some wrong information. But besides that, it was okay. It took a day for Legum's Heating & Cooling to come out. Their tech went up there to check the AC unit and he couldn't find anything. There was this opening by one of the pipes up there and he said that it was probably it. So it wasn't the AC unit. I lost $100 because they didn't fix anything and I still had to get it fixed myself. They should have refunded half the money back.
I had to file another claim and their rep told me that it was covered. Then when I contacted them back, another lady told me that it wasn't covered. My understanding was that they were gonna contact somebody and send somebody out. So I was waiting and a couple of days passed and I called to find out what was going on. I found out that it wasn't covered and nobody had contacted me or said anything about it. It was cumbersome.

I called American Home Shield when I filed claims for the refrigerator and the air conditioner. My only problem was it took me so long to get in touch with somebody. I'd be on hold for 50 minutes. When I made the claim for the refrigerator, sometimes I was on hold for two hours one day. After I made the claim, the contractor came out, checked the refrigerator, said they couldn't fix it, and they will now get me a new one. I waited for a couple of days and nobody called me so I called AHS. I stayed on the phone for about 45 minutes and then they had to switch me over to somebody else.
When they switched me over to the people that handle replacing the refrigerator, I stayed on the phone so long, 'til the recording came on saying that I've been on hold for too long and it hung up. Then I called back again the next day. I stayed on the phone for an hour and a half. I left my phone on speaker while I was looking at the TV. It took an hour and a half before somebody finally came through to talk to. This is my first time using them but the hold time was the only problem.
The contractor came out for the refrigerator. It was in the garage and they went in there. They looked at it and said they couldn't fix it so they had to get a new one. They sent me a website to look at. I put it up on my phone and looked at it while I was talking to the guy. They only had two or three that I can pick from that wouldn't cost me any money. I chose one and it took me a week or so before the refrigerator finally came. Then when I filed the claim for the air conditioner, it only took three days for the contractor to come out. He fixed it and left.
AHS solved my problem on both times but the replacement part was a lot harder than the guy that came out and fixed the air conditioning. Overall, I would recommend them if the people are willing to stay on the phone for two hours to get to talk to somebody. If the people ain't willing to do that, then they might not wanna deal with AHS.

So far, things have been good with American Home Shield. Other than the wait time on the phone, everything has been okay and their warranty has been dependable. Recently, I submitted a couple of claims and AHS sent B & M Appliance for my washer and dryer issue. The techs were fine but they had to come multiple times. Eventually, the washer and dryer was replaced and that went well. I also had a claim for my air conditioner and the techs sent by AHS came two or three times. They repaired my unit but then it took them three appointments to do that. Still, everything has been working well so far.

I’ve been with American Home Shield for eight years and we've had some hit-or-miss when filing claims. Sometimes, they get techs who come out and diagnose the problem and then they have to come out a week later to repair it. We had an issue with the sink where one plumber showed up, didn't have any tools, used my garden hose to try to fix the sink, and then on the invoice said that it was an excessive backup. So, we had to pay out of pocket for somebody to hydro jet the thing.
This house was built in the 70s and I don't put anything down the drain. I put everything in the trash can. So, that was unfortunate, having to eat that when we had their service for a number of years. But we had an electrician who was awful and we called American Home Shield, and they helped with that one. Also, we've always been happy with Bay Appliances who usually does a good job. When the showerhead wasn't working, All & All Plumbing fixed it very quickly. They were great.

The contractors came out for our AC unit. However, it still wasn't working after a while. We ended up having to change the filters in it to have to work. But it was still the same for over a week. He said that it was fine. He was like, "Everything should be working. I did this and that." We believed him and nothing. It just started working fine five days ago.
When I submitted a claim online to AHS, I didn't like it at all. I kept on having to get out of it, refreshing and refreshing, 'cause it wouldn't give me the option that I needed and it just wasn't easy. But as soon as I call and make a claim, they send somebody out either that same day or the next day. So that, I have been very satisfied with it.
