    Home Shield sent someone out from Ohohna for the AC. The pipe at the top over my window is leaking water. The tech came out last Friday and cleaned up a trap down at the bottom. I thought that would solve the problem and he said that the leaking should stop but it hasn't stopped. I waited a week and it’s dripping just as bad as when he came out. I can't get in touch with them. I left a text and called them a few times but there was no answer. I need somebody to come out here, go up in the attic, and see what's going on because it’s ruining my house. I got rust all along the side of my siding. I've called Home Shield about it and I left my phone number for them to call me back. Also, they came and sent a guy out to put a new unit in my toilet and it only lasted about a year. It’s not flushing right. I might have to have them come back out and put another one in. That should have lasted for years. It’s not working that good.

    I’ve had American Home Shield for almost a year and for the most part, submitting a claim is easy. But the service depends on the provider. Sometimes, it's smooth, quick and easy and sometimes not so much. I once had a problem with a washing machine that wasn't working and the provider that AHS found was unable to fix it. They kept saying they would come back and then never ended up fixing it. I ended up buying a new one because I didn't wanna deal with it. On the other hand, when the garbage disposal wasn't working and was leaking, the rep from Advanced Home Services came in right away and switched it out for a new one. That worked well.

    I have American Home Shield on my home and I got it for another, so I have two policies. My brother has it for a home as well and over the years, we appreciate it. There was a time when my air conditioning went out and when I got TJ Morgan, they called me the next day. I didn't have to call back and say I hadn't heard from them. They called that afternoon and said they'd be there the next morning. They also called when it was 30 minutes out and said they were on their way and then I let them in. The guy came in and he had to put something in there and now, it's working. Everything's good. It was prompt service and I appreciated that. That makes a difference when it's so hot.

    The submission process is much better now as well. It used to be a while and you couldn't communicate when you're trying to get somebody or leave a message, but from the last experience, I'm a-okay. The callback is an improvement from the times I've had before. Sometimes with your air conditioner, they're gonna call you and you'd be waiting. This particular one though, they were good. I got a quicker response to get somebody to provide the service. However, my brother had an air condition problem too and if I had to rate the experience he had, I wouldn't say the same thing. Still, the one American Home Shield gave me was excellent.

    South Valley Appliance Repair was very prompt. The evening before I put in the request, the next day they called me. They asked me the health questions and they told me their procedure as far as them wearing masks and gloves. And then, they set up an appointment for that Friday. The young man that came out was very professional and cordial. He told me that they needed to order a part and that I should hear from them within a week. Before the week was over, I got a call from them. The same young man came out. I asked him to go through the back door because the washer dryer was there, and he didn't have any problems doing that. He wore a mask. He did the job. I've been using my dryer ever since.

    I purchased the home last year, and I thought I had another service issue this week, and it said that my policy expired. I had paid the original one, and then a month later, Home Shield said, “Hey, do you want to pay next year's? It'll be this same price.” There was a confusion and it showed me that I had been expired. But I didn't understand that since I had just used the service. I called and it got cleared up this morning. The reps were very nice and very professional. I like Home Shield.

    We had a refrigerator that was leaking. It turned out to be not a plumbing issue but it was an appliance issue. The contractor examined it thoroughly and did a good job of identifying the problem. So we're waiting for the appliance person to repair it. He has to come back with somebody else because it's a two-man job. The refrigerator is really large. It takes more than one person to get in there.

    The disposal unit in the sink was having a problem and I told AHS about it. They said that they would send out a representative to verify it. When J&K Plumbing came out, they said that it was best to replace the unit rather than take it all apart and try to put in a new gasket. The contractor was very knowledgeable and was probably one of the better servicemen I had. We got the service without a lot of hassle. I'm very satisfied.

    I had an issue with the garbage disposal and I went online to request service from American Home Shield. They emailed me who was gonna contact me to set up an appointment or I could call the company. The technician arrived in a timely manner. They told me to expect him between 1:00 and 5:00. I got an email that he was leaving wherever he was and when he was on the way to my house. He was supposed to arrive around 2:58 and he was here at that time. He did what he was supposed to do.

    A friend that I have in California was talking about American Home Shield and why she went with them. My appliances were getting of age and I didn't like going through the company where I purchased my appliances. Their warranties were individually for each item and it was getting rather expensive. So, I went with AHS where I could cover everything in my home and pay a flat rate for the warranty and monthly. I had been with AHS for 15 years and I had been able to manage that way rather than trying to find a plumber or appliance worker to work on my appliance since you're not sure if they are gonna do a good job.

    But sometimes, you have to wait a little longer than anticipated so I was looking for Peak Home Performance to tell me that it would be couple of days before they could get to me or something of that nature. I was surprised that they were able to come the same day. So that was right down my alley and I was very pleased with that. When I can get service the same day, that's what you're looking for. Because you can't force certain things. In the winter months, companies get booked up with the furnaces. A couple of times, I had to end up going with someone else. Whoever AHS contracted with couldn't come out that day. When your furnace goes out, you gotta come up with another plan on heating your house. Certain things can't wait that long. But I've been satisfied with AHS.

    I had no hot water so I filed a claim with AHS. The guy from 822 Plumbing lit the furnace and then left. But that wasn't the problem because the next day, it was out again. I called AHS back and told them the tech didn't check the unit or anything and I wanted to know exactly what's going on with it. They sent the same guy back out and he replaced a part on it. It's been okay ever since. But it took me a whole day to call them back to let them know the tank went out again. Every time I called, I got that their system was updating and it would hang up. But other than that, I'm pretty satisfied. Submitting claims with AHS is pretty easy and the times that I have called, I haven't had a problem with them.

    The garbage disposal was not operating and then there was a leak in the bathtub. I went online and filed a claim with Home Shield there. The website was pretty simple. Then, I got a text that someone should contact me within 24 hours. Hardy Plumbing was fine when they came out. They fixed the problem and everything has been functioning fine. Home Shield has been a good advantage for what I've had to deal with so far. It is easy when it comes to repairing. I put a claim in and then Home Shield sends the contractor. If I did it, I would have to go out and figure out who I should call.

    We've had multiple claims with our HVAC system and it has always been South Placer Heating and Air except for one time. We’ve had a good experience with South Placer. They always came out and diagnosed it and usually were able to correct it that same day. When Our thermostat was out and they came and replaced it. The technician noticed that it still didn't turn on, so he went up to the furnace and did some stuff up there. It took a few minutes and then it turned on.

    AHS doesn't offer to cover Freon. When ours went out, it was a pretty expensive cost. That's one thing that they can change because some of the competitors offer it in their plan. But overall, I have had a good experience and that's why I've decided to renew with them. During all this crazy pandemic stuff, it was hard for a little while to get someone on the phone and submit a claim. But when I established an account and figured out how to submit a claim online, it was a much easier process.

    My refrigerator quit working and my dishwasher wasn't draining. American Home Shield sent out Martin's Appliance Repair. For the dishwasher, the service guy showed me how to get it to drain. It was still holding a lot of water in the bottom. When that happens, he showed me how to get that to drain properly. It was just a matter of him showing me how to get that backed up water to come out. So now I know what to do. But he said he couldn't fix the refrigerator because something inside of it was broken. I've still not got it resolved. I'm waiting for a check to go get another refrigerator. I also had another claim with American Home Shield where something went out on my heater back in the winter. That went great. The contractor got it fixed right away. That day they were out here, it was freezing but they came out and fixed it.

    The guy came in the beginning part of what time they said they were gonna be here and found out what the problem was. He was very pleasant. He had to order the part so we had to wait a few weeks but that's not their fault. I understand it takes a while sometimes to order a part. When the part came, he came and put it in. It took him 5 or 10 minutes and he was done. He made sure it worked. This year is the first time we needed anybody and it was all taken care of by American Home Shield.

    The AC wasn't cooling and the fan wasn't working. I called AHS around noon and they said they were going try to expedite my claim. They also told me that they would give me a window of four hours as they were trying to find somebody. It was getting really hot in here because we have 100-degree days and the heat kept going up. So, I called them again and I was on the phone for two hours trying to find out if they'd actually found somebody. It was getting close to 5:00 and they told me that I could look for my own person. But I told them that I was not doing that here at 5 o'clock in the evening.

    So, they found somebody from Air Dynasty that could come the next morning and they gave me a window of 8:00 to 12:00. Then, I heard from Air Dynasty and the guy called right at 8:00. So, he was here in 30 to 45 minutes and it was taken care of within an hour and 15 minutes. So, I was really happy with it in that respect. But I didn't really like the waiting around to try and find out something for four hours. It was 85 in here and getting extremely warm. That was the only thing because I really thought that that was enough time to find somebody. But we could fight the heat for a night and it was fixed promptly.

    Other than that, with AHS, you pay 70 bucks a month then you pay 75 bucks for a service call. And right now, that's kinda high under the circumstances with all the stuff that's going on. I was going to look into switching to somebody to see if there was a cheaper monthly rate but I was talking to a friend and she said that hers kept going up. Also, we had a problem one time with someone that AHS used to fix our dishwasher. These people were ridiculous in trying to get a hold of them and they wouldn't call us back. I had them put on our account that we would never use those people. But since then, because we also had a washer issue, they came out and fixed it promptly.

    The capacitor that runs the motor on our AC went out. I filed a claim with AHS and Always Heating & Cooling came out. The tech had to replace the capacitor and he had one with him when he came out. He was able to complete the repair that same day. The unit is working a little bit better than it did. I could tell it was making like a very strenuous, hard to run noise and now, it's running smoothly.

    I've had AHS for a year and a half. They might have been who I have when I first bought the home, which is going on three years. I like that they have prompt responses to my inquiries. They send service people out right away and the service people that come have been very helpful and competent. I've been very satisfied with the work that has been done. I have older appliances, so I'm trying to keep them going as long as I can.

    I called the phone number on our AHS paperwork and let them know we were ready to use their service. Pop-A-Lock, the contractor, was expected to come out in a couple of days. They were on time and were professional. They took great pride in their work and did some detail work on the locks to make sure they worked smoothly. They did all the stuff and it was an overall good job. This helps with security since we have a new home and we are certain that nobody has the keys that we have.

    The guy came and he had to go get some parts. He was pretty quick. He was in and out of there and everything was fixed. He had to replace the water shut-off and the bolts that hooked the tank to the seat ‘cause it was leaking out of there and the master bedroom faucet for the bathtub water to come out. It’s always been a good experience with American Home Shield. I've had to call them out one other time for plumbing issues as well, and it was good. Filing the claim was super easy and quick too. They've always been very friendly on the phone.

    My AC wasn't working and it blew part of my electric out. I put in my repair request and American Home Shield was right on top of it. All Comfort Specialists was assigned to me and they were very friendly. When the tech came out the first time, he got my electric working right away. He worked on the AC and told me what was wrong. They would get the part in and they would be back out. They were back within three days with the part and got the AC fixed. They went above what they needed to do. I was very happy. Everybody was friendly and everything happened really fast. It was the wrong time of the year for my AC to go out because everybody was out. I had to wait a week for everything to get done but I understood.

    The first time we had an issue with the AC, it was a part had gone bad and there was a hole in the hose so there was no Freon. The second time was something with the blower. It wasn't going all the way through. I put in a request with Home Shield and they responded within 15 minutes. Rush Heating and Cooling came out and they fixed that. They got down to the problem quick and they were very nice and professional. I love Home Shield.

    The first time I did something online with Home Shield, I couldn't get it to work. I had to call in and it took me an hour on hold before I got somebody. Any time I call in, the hold time is extremely long. It's kinda ridiculous. Other than that, Home Shield has always been great. I just recommended them the other day to my son. We had an issue with the air conditioner and it was hot in my side of the house. It took a little bit longer to find something but I understand with the COVID and stuff. It’s summer. It was something easily worked through.

    They had Absolute Refrigeration Air Conditioning for an AC issue. I had them out twice for two different units. For the first unit, they came out right on time. They were super friendly and helpful. They got the unit fixed. On the second unit, I called them back and said it was a mini split. But that was not relayed to the guy technician coming out. He came out and said it needed Freon on a Monday. It ended up being Friday before the guy got there. He still fixed it though. He was super helpful and friendly.

    Our faucet was no longer fully working. The guy from Bay Breeze Plumbing came out, was able to diagnose the problem and got a new faucet. We also had an issue with another faucet down in a shower and he was able to fix that as well. American Home Shield worked out perfectly with us. We have them on a second home and it was three or four days before they could get out there, but that was the right timing for us ‘cause that was when we needed it. They're usually pretty quick and we haven't had any problems. We did have to wait a week to get the new things in though. You have to wait on the contractor to put the claim in and once it got approved, they had to order the parts. So it took about a week before we could get the problem resolved once the guy had come out initially.

    For my recent claim with AHS, the air condition fan burnt out and the contractors replaced it. They came back the next day. It was pretty quick. The contractors were very friendly, very professional and very informative. It’s working great now. I'm just waiting for my other claim to get finished. I have a washer that’s been out for six weeks now. They ordered parts and got the parts in, put them in but then the washer’s still broken.

    The contractors were supposed to contact AHS to replace it because it's not fixable. It's just taking so long. It should be quicker than six weeks. I got six kids in the house and we're having to go spend $200 a week on laundry. We filed the claim the same day the washer broke and the rep was rude to a point. The washer had water still in it and he was like, “It’s not my job to clean that water. Y’all need to take care of that.” All the other things that we've had with AHS, all the kitchen appliances that went out, the contractors came in within a few days and fixed them all. It was quick. Everything else has been good. The guys were also respectful. Just this one thing.

    Everything went well with Water and Drainworks. The claim was submitted late in the week and it was early the next week that the guy came. We had a weekend stuck in there but it was not something that was critical. He arrived when he was supposed to and was wearing his PPE like we were hoping he would. He came in and identified what was wrong. He had the part on hand and fixed the issue.

    We've had two claims with American Home Shield and both of them have gone well. However, I would have probably liked a little more clarification on what was covered and what wasn't. The claim process is a little unfair right now. I blame it firstly on the Coronavirus and, apparently, the call centers, are not in the United States. If I had been able to do it online or through the telephone by using the quick trip through, it probably would’ve gone really well. I had questions about the coverage and that meant that I had to wait for somebody to talk. The hold time was outrageous. On one of them I waited an hour and a half and when you're using your cell phone, it's draining the heck out of your batteries. That's the only complaint I have. Once they came on, we got things resolved quickly.

    When submitting a claim, you'd go online and do it and then you'd have the option of calling directly to whoever they sent it to. We contacted HVAC Repairs and everything went fine. But a couple of years ago, we went without air conditioning for two weeks ‘cause a part had to be ordered. The reason it took so long was that American Home Shield did not expedite the order because that would have cost more money on their part. So we didn't enjoy the benefits of air conditioning for an extended period of time.

    The AHS website is good and it's easy to submit stuff. They were pretty quick and I got text messages, so it was intuitive. We had Water’s Edge come out for a plumbing issue and for the garbage disposal. The plumber replaced the garbage disposal within an hour and then he fixed the plumbing leak. Everything works now. A lot of people don't realize how to utilize the warranty. I didn't know that you can file multiple claims for certain stuff on one deductible. Also, some stuff you wouldn't think was in their warranty is under warranty.

    My washing machine had a cracked door. It was just an exterior cracked door. Then it leaked with the detergent and it had this odor smell. The technician looked at what was wrong with it and looked to order parts. The parts weren't available and American Home Shield would just replaced the whole washer. They sent me a link of how to order the washer and I just literally clicked to order the washer that I wanted. It didn't cost me a dime other than the home warranty and the deductible. And the washer arrived today.

    I submitted a claim on the website of AHS and it was quick and efficient. It said they would contact me within 24 hours after submission. My experience with the contractors that came was good. He did a great job. There were no real problems that were presented. He did everything perfectly. As far as fixing the problem, it worked. When he first looked at it, he told me what was wrong with it and that he would have to order the part. Because of the situation, what's going on with COVID, it may take the part a little longer to come in than normal and so that was expected. But even then, it only took two weeks for the plug to come in. I did a follow-up with him to see where we were at with the part, and it just so happened that that day, the part came in. He said that he would come out the next day to install apart and once he did, everything worked great.

    This is not my first time with American Home Shield. In my previous home, I was with AHS for about four years. Then because I moved and I was getting the house built, I stopped and I told the wife, “We need to get back on this program. It’s a good program.” So we started back and just as we started back, the dishwasher went out. It was right on time. It worked out great. AHS did me justice and I will recommend it.

    The AC went out so I called American Home Shield. They got Bencraft Mechanical to come out and the guy said he couldn't find the leak. He put some refrigerant and charged for that. He also put some dye in the refrigerant so that we could figure out if there was a leak and he said to call back. By the time he left, we had cold air and everything was going. But a couple of months went by and I had the same problem.

    I called Home Shield and they got this other company called World Class AC to come out. The contractor opened up the unit, pulled the coil out, and saw that all the dye that Bencraft Mechanical put into the lines had come out on the coil. World Class AC went ahead and replaced that and I paid for refrigerant again. Then, a couple of months later, I had the same problem so I called Home Shield and they sent out Bencraft Mechanical again but I was a little leery. The same guy came out and then discovers that now the entire outdoor unit is gone. They replaced that and I paid for refrigerant again. The unit is now working. The tech from Bencraft got through things as far as checking stuff and he was a little more knowledgeable. But what Bencraft could have done better is go through each component within the system.

    American Home Shield has been great for me. They’ve done a lot of great work as far as getting contractors out. But in Florida, when the contractors come out, that doesn't mean they're going to do the job. I've learned that. You stand in the corner with a fistful of $100 bills and they just drive right by you. There’s a lot of work out here that needs to be done and contractors are iffy at best. Other than that, Home Shield is a really good company. I'm really satisfied. Especially during the pandemic, they've saved my butt. They've been able to provide a service that has allowed me to continue making a hospitable home in spite of all of the hardships because of the pandemic. I'm very thankful for that.

    In 2015, I called a technician to repair the AC. The unit was not working because it had a big huge leak outside on the coils. The technician that was sent repaired it and didn’t check anything else. And ever since, I got Freon on my unit back then, and that was it. Recently, AC was getting worse and worse. It has been overworking and not having sufficient cooling. It was pushing all the temperatures in the house down every single time when there is hot weather. I have a friend who works for an AC company and I told him to give it a look. He found out that the levels of pressure of Freon was low and was not expected. Then, when he checked the Freon, it went down, so he started looking for a leak, but there wasn't. Somehow, the Freon was just going down and down not knowing why.

    I called American Home Shield. Air Systems USA came over and they realized that one of the valves was bad because they ran a test. One of the technicians said that the valve was going to some sort of level up the pressure when the Freon gets out. Also, the unit didn’t have a bi-directional filter drier so he installed it. Since this unit is old, it's probably not well care about the pressure and all this stuff.

    Air Systems USA seemed to be knowledgeable about what they did. They tackled the correct way for the issue. They had a good approach on how to fix it and they responded quickly for this request. They only took two days to come back with the repair and they got it done. Five minutes after they finished, they started to initialize the unit back online. It took only five minutes to start cooling off really well. Now the AC seems to be okay. I don't feel that the unit is overworking like before.

    The AC unit was running constantly and it wasn't achieving the temperature that we had it set at. So, I placed a call to American Home Shield. The temperature outside was in the high 90s, so I know it was hard to get to that temperature because the house itself was hot. At the very least, it might have needed some Freon because it was blowing cool, but not really cold.

    It's impossible to talk to someone at American Home Shield though. I placed the service call online and they assigned a vendor that I didn’t want. I always want Bennett to come to the house because they're the best. There's nowhere online where you could make comments or request a certain vendor. Then I called and I was on hold for like 45 minutes. I gave up. Then I called the next morning and I was on hold for like 25 minutes. I finally got to talk to someone, and it was back and forth. They finally signed Bennett and off we went.

    Every time I tried to talk to someone, I wait on the phone for hours. It's disgusting. Once you get a hold of them, it's okay. But you would think there'd be a place on their website where you can make a comment of some sort that you’re requesting such and such vendor due to past experience. Other than that, when the vendor comes out, they solve the problem. It’s a shame that it was impossible to talk to someone, but I would recommend them still.

    The past experiences we had with Home Shield were good but this last one was not good. We had to wait for two weeks to get someone into the house and fix the AC and it was so hot. No one raised the ticket as a priority. The first person who came found that the fan is faulty and he replaced that. Then, he found that it was one and a half pound low on refrigerant and he filled that up. But the house was not cooling up. A week later, the guy from Air Max came and found it was around one pound low on refrigerant. The AC is working now, but we are not sure. Maybe Home Shield should use someone like Air Max. They can come and recheck whether the Freon is lower than the current condition.

    My compressor went out. I had to stay in a hotel from the 10th of July until the 29th of July out of pocket. The company came out on Monday and sent American Home Shield the information. They had to order the part but if the company tells them that's what the situation is, the company probably could have gotten the part a lot sooner. It took them five to seven days to get the part, and by then, the company was behind. I had to wait again another week for them to get someone out to install it. They don't assist you as far as your inconvenience of staying. They only pay $10 on the freon.

    I'm not working because of COVID, so I had to get the money together to pay for the hotel and I had to pay $900 out of pocket for freon and whatever else they had to do. I'm not really satisfied. I had to argue with them because the company that came out is the company that I have come out every year to service my unit. They service it in the fall and in the summer. They've been doing it for the last four years. Once you build a rapport with a company and you're comfortable with them, you want that company to be the people that come out to your home because you kind of trust them and you know them. When I called, they didn't wanna send the company out. I had to demand.

    The company that they wanted to send had very bad reviews with the Better Business Bureau. My daughter and two of my friends had dealt with this company so I knew the history. I had to get really down and ugly. They told me I have to take who they send. The guy told me, "We can send whoever we want to your house. We have the right to do that." I said, "No, you can't make me let someone in my home. You have no right. You may be able to bully someone else into doing that, but you're not gonna be able to bully me. At this point, we have nothing else to discuss. I wanna talk to a supervisor." He hung up in my face. I had to call back again and be on hold again for over an hour to get someone to get the right company out. That was the main thing that I feel is wrong. I pay $70 every month and that's the first time they've had to pay for anything in my home.

    During that whole situation, it was a very expensive experience for someone who's not working and my kids had to get the money together to help me. It was horrible. Now, I've got a plumbing issue. They don't want to send the company that I used for my plumbing. They kept telling me they're not on their list. I've called the company and they said they're taking service orders from American Home Shield. I'm gonna try to call again today, be on hold again for over an hour, and try to get them to send the company that I want.

    I understand that they have different companies, but if you dealt with a company and this company is someone that they use, then let the customers request, unless that company is no longer a part of their contract. They make the whole experience very horrifying. I've been with them since 2003 and I've probably had four claims at the most since. It's never a pleasant situation when you're calling in to make a service request. I tell them they need to go to the Better Business Bureau and look at the reviews of the companies that they're trying to send out. Their customer service agents are also very rude. I work in customer service and how they talk to you is not how they should talk to a customer.

    I have two friends that use Home Shield, which is why I switched to them. Also, the company that we used before was terrible. The customer service was great, but the service providers that this other company had were terrible. I could never reach the service providers once they came out and looked at the issue so I could never get them back out to finish fixing it. So, I would just lose my deductible. They were stealing money from me and not fixing my problem. I wanted to see if Home Shield's service providers will do a better job and not just take my money.

    My husband was here when Chesapeake Appliance Repair came out. From what he told me, they let us know when they were coming. They tried to call me. They sent a text message and my husband said the guy came in. He talked to my husband briefly, then unplugged the microwave and tested it a couple of times. Then he told my husband something has gone bad and that we just need to get a new microwave. And that was it. Thank you for the visit. That was fine. However, I still haven't heard from Home Shield about getting a new microwave. The job is not completed until I get a new one.

    I tried calling customer service last Friday and I waited an hour. I called again on Tuesday and I got in touch with someone in customer service and they said they had put in that we needed the microwave. I was glad to hear that part. And then, they switched me over to the department that does the appliances. I waited for 45 minutes. I hung up when my phone hit an hour because I've been on hold for a long time. I decided to let somebody call me and see how it works. But when I talk to somebody, they were very helpful. It was several hours later when someone reached out to me, but I was glad somebody did contact me. So far, reaching a person to talk to and how I can resolve my problem to give me a microwave has just been the frustrating part.

    It was hot in the house. I checked the temperature of the thermostat and it was about 91 degrees. So that prompted me to call American Home Shield. They sent their first contractor out. Whatever he did in the backyard, he never set foot in the house and then he indicated something was going on with the unit outside and he fixed it. But after about a couple of hours, the house never cooled down.

    The next day, I called American Home Shield again. They indicated they would escalate it back to that same contractor and have a senior technician come out to look at it again. That senior technician came out and pretty much kinda did the same thing the first one did. He came in and just put his hand up to the vent. Then he went outside, said something about the unit again, and that the house should be cooling down shortly. Once again, that same night, the house never cooled down. That was when it kinda got to 92 degrees in the house. I called American Home Shield back and I expressed my frustration. They indicated that they would turn it over to another contractor and Southern Comfort came out.

    The technician was sweet. He came in, he kind of diagnosed what he thought the problem was. He did indicate to me that the insulation was kinda low in the attic but should not have been the cause of the air conditioner not cooling and for it to be 90-plus degrees in the house. He went outside and he indicated that it was low on Freon so he put that in there, came back in, and checked filters. He said that it should be cooling and he apologized for the inconvenience. But it was still not cooling.

    I called Southern Comfort back before calling American Home Shield. I spoke with a representative and she indicated that I had to go back to American Home Shield in order for them to do another service request submitted and for them to come back out. When I called American Home Shield, I was on hold for at least an hour. But I stayed on the phone and finally got through to a rep. The rep indicated that they would send another service request out. The person came out and he fixed it. We have air now. It took four visits for them to fix the problem but Southern Comfort was great.

    Both my AC units were blowing warm air and Eagle Heating and Air fixed both. They were very knowledgeable and the office coordinator called me and let me know specifically my window for my appointment. She followed up with a text three days prior to the service call to narrow down the time frame, which I like. Tyler, the technician, knew right away that the initial problem was my breaker. I must’ve had bad weather and it tripped the breaker box. So, they had to reset the breaker and the downstairs unit started working. They put some Freon in as well. But the very next day, the second unit went back to blowing warm air. They said I needed a new compressor and they were going to seek American Home Shield’s approval before replacing it. So, I'm assuming that once they get the part, they're coming back out.

    My AC didn't work, so I called AHS and Seabreez A/C & Heating came out. They looked at the attic and the problem wasn't with my air conditioning, it was the duct. There was something wrong with it, but they said it wasn't normal wear and tear. It was from an animal damage. So, I paid for the repair on my own because they weren't covering it. In general, I'm very happy with AHS because I have called many times for something broken in my home and they’ve been able to repair it. They did it in a timely manner, too. But maybe they should have better coverage as far as repairs in your home.

    I'm happy we have coverage and I usually submit claims online by logging into the account. One time, I submitted a claim and Island Breeze HVAC came in as soon as the next available opportunity was there. The first time, it was the next day, which was very fast. On the second call, it was as soon as the hurricane was over, so it was reasonably fast as well. After they did the initial repairs, the unit stopped working again. I'm not sure if it was related to the first issue, but on the second call, they came in and resolved the issue. They were excellent and it went well.

    Absolutely horrible warranty company. I can't even say customer services. Going on 2 weeks with a broken appliance and having to start the whole process again. Each representative tells lies and does not know the process of any sorts. American Home Shield reviews that are ever positive are paid reviews. They are a scam and fraud at best. My problem is still not fixed and requires every time to talk over 1 hour wait to talk to someone. I have been hung up on, no escalation, no resolution in sight. They have made error after error and no idea what to do. They lie and continue to lie.

    Each time I call, I have to wait on hold for over an hour to talk to someone. My washer broke 2 weeks ago. After 2 service technicians told AHS that my washer was broke, I was finally sent to the product replacement department. I have been on hold for over 2 hours. Do not purchase this warranty if you value your time.

    A/c unit just stop working. Call American Home Shield (that took 2-3 hours on hold on the phone) to send some to fix it. Before they ask what was the issuse they ask for a service fee and they still could not produce as promised. They could not find anyone, then they finally give me the go ahead to get a outside contractor. They give the outside contractor a push around and long call waiting for approval, after 2 days the contractor no longer wanted to do the job. After 5 days without a/c in my home and kids crying and sleeping in discomfort I had to pay for a new unit to be replace out of pocket. When you think they have you covered they really don't. Horrible service. Never would I recommend them.

    Where should I start. Today is 08/04/2020 and I opened a repair claim with American Home Shield 11/22/2019 and still not has been fixed. I have been trying to call the Purchasing department from last 3 days and haven't got any luck with it. Yesterday I was on the hold for 3 hours 54 Min and today I am on the phone over 4 Hours and haven't got chance to speak with anyone yet. After 7 month with 3 different contractors (through by AHS) then finally they decide to replace our Monogram Range Hood with GE. First the Hood came damaged, and Delivery company reorder 2nd time and when delivery driver came to deliver I checked the unit. It was used (someone used it returned it, All greasy hand and tool marks was visible) and damaged again.

    At the end I just took the loss of Cash Value Price and went through with local appliance company to buy the Range Hood. Never Never get AHS. I canceled my contract with them right on the spot when I spoke with them last time. Not worth of dealing 7 months to get one thing get fixed. One more thing, they hire the local contractors, If they damage something else while working, AHS will be NOT take any responsibility for the damage.

    We have been loyal customers of American Home Shield for over 20 years. We have even given annual AHS home warranty subscriptions to buyers of our homes to give them some peace of mind with their new home ownership. Today, however, I am writing to describe the lack of service we have received since July 1st of this year. I placed a service call on our Bosch wall oven in the middle of June of this year. The first company AHS sent out (TN Appliance Exchange) told us they could not service the Bosch oven. I requested service a second time and this company (C & D Appliance Service) identified the parts that would be required to fix the issue. This company searched for several days and could not find the required parts. I guess our Bosch model was too old to still have parts available.

    Since then I have tried multiple times to reach AHS. Finally, on July 20th, I was able to reach someone in customer service that told me AHS could not locate the parts either, and our oven qualified for a replacement. Customer Service told me that the GE model we would like was recorded in the database, and that I would be receiving an email from the Appliance Purchase Department to discuss the replacement.

    As of today, no one from AHS has contacted me. Prior to today, I have spent over 13 hours on hold for both customer service and the Appliance Purchase Department. Today, I was on hold for the Appliance Purchase for over 5 hours without anyone answering. In my career as an IT analyst, my hourly rate averages $150/hour. It is unacceptable to expect me to spend my time trying to get AHS to honor their contract with us. We have been customers of AHS (again for over 20 years) and paid our premiums on time. I think it is fair to expect you to honor your side.

    If I do not hear from AHS within 24 hours from today, including providing a date that our oven will be replaced, I am going to do several things:
    1 - Contact the Better Business Bureau of middle Tennessee, describing the AHS service we have received.
    2 - Contact as many local Nashville TV stations and consumer advocate groups as I can, describing the AHS service we have received.

    3 – Post a review of the service we have received from AHS on as many social media options as I can find.

    Prior to this, we have been pleased with the service AHS has provided. However, we have heard a number of rumors recently that your service level has been significantly declining, and I have to believe we are seeing it also. The ball is in your court.

    PLEASE NEVER USE AMERICAN HOME SHIELD as your home warranty company. I have been using them, and paying them, for 9 years since I bought my home. Currently my oven in the stove would turn itself ON by itself. The heat ranged from low heat to about 350 degrees in my opinion. To get it turned OFF we had to constantly JIGGLE the oven thermostat over and over, day by day as often as needed.

    I contacted AHS and they ordered a visit by ACCORD APPLIANCE Co in my area. Peter the rep came out in April and said it looks like it needs a new thermostat. He said he'd order it and it will take a week; nothing happened in a week or thereafter. I called ACCORD and they said they had NOTHING in their files to order a new thermostat! I explained previous visit by Peter and they then RESENT Peter to my house, now for SECOND visit. AGAIN he said it was a 'Gas Valve Issue' and he would order the part. I told him the gal at office said that HE was to have ordered it, not them. He said, in total sincerity, that HE would order it. I gave him another week. NOTHING. I called the ACCORD and they said they show that nothing is broken?? I asked to speak with their manager, and gal said it's not their issue and to contact AHS directly.

    I called the customer service number for AHS and it rang and rang and rang. I again called day after and day after that. NO RESPONSE. I called and finally got a machine that says 'leave a message and an AHS rep will call me back'. I did. NOTHING. I called back and the machine said if I wanted to wait it could be up to an hour to hold. I did. NOTHING. I held on phone for 90 minutes. NO ONE came on the phone. I went into FACEBOOK AHS site and write a basic HELP message to have someone call me re c.s. I went into AHS direct site and write multiple times to please have SOMEONE call me re customer service.

    I called an appliance parts store to see what would be needed for us to get the parts. He quoted me a price about $300 for parts and installation, but said it was DANGEROUS for the oven to keep going on and off by itself. AGAIN I called Accord and told them the above. They said sorry they were not concerned. I tried again multiple times to call AHS and STILL NO RESPONSE to a HUMAN to talk with me.

    I am frustrated and at wit's end. We are seniors in our 70's and this is causing my blood pressure to rise. WHY am I paying for this company. The stove is COVERED under the contract. I am hurt, mad and upset. Treated this badly by MY home warranty company is unacceptable. I just wanted to share my story... Please please do NOT buy their warranty.     Updated on 08/19/2020: The second company came back and said the same thing - the ball valves are seized and may need to be replaced. They also wrote in there that they suggested to be modified because of the way that it's coming out of the home makes it very difficult to work on, which is true. When they wrote that to AHS, they also included in there that the end of the line is connected to my sprinklers. AHS came back and said, "Nope, it's your sprinklers that have a problem. We're not covering it."

    I don't quite know where to go from there. I'm pretty dissatisfied with the service. I had another claim initially when I first got the home back in April. The plumber that came out fixed it. It's from Plumbers, Inc. and I was excited to see the name again 'cause I know they're professional, quick, and good. He fixed the problem, but he told us beforehand when he first came over, "That's not exactly how it was written up in your request. It just said leak. So I don't necessarily have to follow through with this AHS request. Just for future reference, make sure you put XYZ in the request. I could refuse service right now, even though it's a 20-minute fix, and I understand your problem."

    I feel like that same kind of thing is what I already knew coming into this. I was very careful of my verbiage and I knew exactly what was gonna happen which is gonna be like a struggle to get it fixed for them to pay for it. But it felt like it was a deceit, which I didn't expect. It may be an exterior of the home but it's still connected to the main water line, which is the house's line and it's not because I want to water my garden. I, in fact, want to stop the water from leaking altogether out of my house. I don't want my sprinkler system to work. I wanna be able to shut the water off, and that’s the difference.

    I explained it to all three parties and they didn't address the problem. The assessment on AHS’ part was almost like they were seeking out a way not to fix it. Both of the plumbers that came out said the same thing. It has nothing to do the sprinkler system. It's the ball valve and I asked both of them to please include that in the write up and I was very specific ‘cause I knew that this was gonna be a battle because of my first experience with the "verbiage" around that. I'm just gonna cut the lines off and cap them, like I don't need them. I've just have come to the point of just stopping the water flow altogether. What I don't wanna do is spend more of my money fixing a problem that I honestly feel like on principle, this would be a fight. I feel very disgusted by AHS over this. It didn't feel fair and I'm a little ticked off that I've spent $150 now on plumbers that came in and said the same thing. I'm also paying an extra $200 a month right now on water leakage.

    Original Review: I have 2 broken ball valves coming directly out of my home that are faulty and create a water breakage. They connect the copper pipe in the home and under the cement behind my home. I cannot shut off the water coming out of the home because the ball valves (two of them) have failed. I read the American Home Shield contract and paid $75 for a plumbing company to quote us. American Home Shield assigned Plumber's Inc.

    On 31 July a friendly and competent technician looked at the issue and spoke with us for 30 minutes. He agreed that it would be covered by American Home Shield as it was an issue with the ball valves attached by both ends to the home's copper pipes creating a water breakage and NOT a sprinkler issue (sprinkler issues are not covered under Home Warranty). Upon his departure the technician gave me a copy of the quote purchase order # ** and it states: 1. 3/4 ball valve. Both left (half shut off) and right side (completely seized shut, free spinning valve handle).

    I got an email from American Home Shield on 4 August saying that my Home Warranty does not cover my sprinkler system and that my request has been denied. I called them immediately and explained that it is a failed ball valve in the home's copper pipe creating a water breakage. It is not a failed sprinkler system I am trying to repair. Plumber's Inc did not include the TWO failed ball valves in their assessment of my home issue to AHS, instead they wrote to AHS that my sprinkler system would not shut off. This is a flagrant disregard of the issue and only speaks to the symptom which Plumber's Inc knows would not be covered by AHS. I believe the intent is for Plumber's Inc to collect money from American Home Shield and myself after I am unable to get coverage from warranty.

    I am greatly disappointed and upset after reading the above reviews because AHS has obviously had multiple negative experience with Plumber's Inc and they still assigned them to my home. Secondly, I am disappointed with Plumber's Inc for quoting the issue in person as a water breakage issue and 2 faulty ball valves and then "failing to include them" in the official quote to AHS and just saying that it is a sprinkler system issue. EVEN THOUGH I have a copy of the quote from Plumber's Inc stating that it is a water breakage due to two faulty ball valves.

    Since Plumber's Inc failed to correctly report the problem to AHS, now I have to schedule and wait on a 2nd opinion. This is unsatisfactory as this water breakage is continuing to cost me money on my monthly water bill. The water department has also noticed the increase in water usage and called me twice and left notes to notify that there is a water breakage in my home and my numbers are much higher than normal.

    Summary: AHS put my family's health at risk by delaying the repair of my AC. It has been over 7 weeks, and I still don't know when it will be repaired. They bring you in with false advertisements of peace of mind when in fact their actions will drive the most sane person insane. We had to deal with it being 90+ degrees inside our house for weeks with one family member immunocompromised and another in her last weeks of pregnancy. They also didn't take appropriate precautions during the Covid-19 pandemic and put our family at unnecessary risk. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE AHS!

    Overview: I purchased an AHS warranty after advertisements about peace of mind for systems in my home. Given uncertainties with Covid, I thought it was worth the premium price for this supposed peace of mind. Instead I have now gone over 7 weeks without Air Conditioning because AHS can't get their act together and is extending things out in hopes that I break down. I have spent 30+ hours on hold or on the phone with them without response. They have sent multiple contractors to my home (some of whom didn't even service my Air Conditioner), and then they made me get my own contractor only to then deny their quote. If you want anxiety, heatstroke, and potentially a heart attack - go with AHS. If you don't want high blood pressure, anxiety, or your physical/mental health at risk - go with another company.

    Situation: My high velocity air conditioning unit stopped work towards the end of June. I did the basic troubleshooting steps they recommend to avoid the $125 service fee. They didn't work. I filed a claim with AHS. Almost 5 days later they finally sent a tech out. Please note - it was 90+ degrees INSIDE THE HOUSE! On top of that, we had a family member who was pregnant at the time. Can you imagine being weeks away from delivery and having no reprieve from the heat? I hope you never have to.

    When the tech came, they overrode the wiring to get the unit to start and fried the base of my thermostat - read the first technician BROKE MY THERMOSTAT! In addition, the first technician also destroyed my garden by stepping on my plants and just throwing the AC cover on top of the plants. When I brought it to the company's attention they then said they weren't going to service the AC. Read: the first company did further damage to the unit and my house and when I raised the concern they said that I was being unreasonable. It also took them 3 visits to try and "diagnose" the issue. Instead of doing that, they just made matters worse. By jerry-rigging the system, I can't even turn it on now or risk that the unit falls through my attic! Where before at least I had a fan going.

    The second contractor comes and doesn't service units after waiting almost a week to get on their schedule and double checking that they do. Their excuse - O well so and so has only been here a month. After the second contractor didn't service the unit they said they couldn't find another contractor and they suggested I get my own. I did. He came the next day.

    My contractor submitted a quote and diagnoses. They asked him to break down the quote. He said he couldn't do that right that minute because he was driving. The agent instead of accurately writing things down said my contractor REFUSED to give the information. THAT was 100% a lie! On top of that, then my contractor spent 4 days trying to get them the breakdown. THEY NEVER CALLED HIM BACK. I HAD TO CALL THEM AND GET FOLKS ON THE LINE - a process that took HOURS.

    Once they got the break down they insisted on a second opinion. READ: In order to further delay having to pay for the repair the made yet another contractor come into my home. At this point we have a newborn who has yet to be vaccinated. Given all of the Covid risk I asked if that was really necessary. They said yes. So I had to choose between exposing my family to covid or having them die from heat exhaustion.

    Almost 2 weeks after the second opinion, AHS is further delaying by not letting their tech order the part. If my tech would have done it, it could have been done last week. If their tech would have done it, it could have been done a few days ago. At this point we are on week 7 and no estimate and nobody can tell anyone anything.

    Throughout this process I have also tried to have things escalated and for a supervisor to call me back - none of that has happened. When a supervisor call (they call it a research) is placed they say someone will call you back in 24-48 hours. It has been almost 2 weeks since the last research was placed. The reps just say anything to you to free up their phone lines.

    DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT use AHS. It isn't worth the headache. Anything small they will replace, but honestly that is just the cost of your premium. Anything bigger they will drag it out and drive you insane. The inside of my house is physically damaged as well from this. If you didn't get the message DO NOT DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT use AHS.

    My garbage disposal was broken. Northwest Sundance Services came out and were great. They scheduled easily. The guy was here before I anticipated and it took 20 minutes of the time. He just switched it out and was in and out. This is the first time that I've used American Home Shield since I purchased my condo. It’s pretty easy and having it is highly important. I'm a single woman and so if anything happens, I'm gonna probably need help.

    The only thing that I thought was weird was the fact that I pay for the deductible before I even have any idea when the contractors would come, which because of it being a garbage disposal, I could have done it myself or I could’ve had my uncle do it if it was gonna take a long time. Because of COVID, I was a little concerned on how long it was gonna take and I was gonna be without a sink. Maybe they should give the option of time to know when I might be able to get a time slot in, which I guess I understand 'cause they contracted out to a different company. But even if there was a time frame, they should have someone out within three days. But it ended up being fine. Now, on something that's much bigger, I would definitely have to wait it out.

    I have contacted billing and customer service several times regarding this matter. I checked today and they billed me a second time for the same services. I'm tired of calling and holding on forever and then when I think the problem is solved I have to reach back to them to get it taken care of. I spoke with a representative the other day we were disconnected and she had solved the problem. So, I didn't bother to call back because I would get another person involved in this long drawn out situation. I checked my credit card today and of course someone didn't read of her notes and here I see another charged. Here it is 11:19 at night I'm trying to in contact with them because I received an alert my account have another 75.00 charged. Please get it together. This isn't the first time we had this happen. I hate that I have to leave a charge card on my account with them.

    Been With this company for 6 years. On July 1, 2020 my oven was not working. I called for service repair request. After been on hold for 4 hours. My appointment was set for July 9, 2020. The repair company came out to service the oven. I was informed that my oven needed to be replaced. That the parts are no longer available.

    On July 20, 2020 I was told someone from the warranty department would be in touch with me to replace my oven. I have called for two weeks straight no answer. Been on hold for hours then I get someone who do not speak English and they transfer me to another line to set on hold for another 3 hours to be hang up on. It is now August 3, 2020. Still no oven. I have small children. I can not afford to eat out for every meal. I pay $100 for every service call. Plus $65 a month for this service. I need someone from the corporate office to call me or refund my money back. Unacceptable service. Will not recommend to anyone.

    The company sent us a check for the costs of repair of our refrigerator in lieu actual repair since we had to replace it. They also returned our initial service fee. This shouldn't have taken 3 months to resolve. It took submitting a bad review to get a reasonable response from the company. It could have been resolved over a month ago by the customer service reps we were talking to. Too long on hold for customer service, service companies that wouldn't service our appliance, and too long getting a resolution.

    Refrigerator quit cooling. Fixed, failed a week later. Poor contractor customer service. Last technician said not repairable. After two months of hassle, now AHS wont pay anything to replace or fix. Was told that at least they would send the amount they would have spent on parts and labor but now nothing. Poor customer service. Told they would call back with updates. Nope!

    Avoid at all costs. Save your money and just find quality repair companies. Long hold times. Hard to understand or communicate with call takers. Thought initially that they would do well but now I am so disgusted that I even took a chance on them. I feel totally ripped off. They have done everything possible to avoid paying out. Run, don't walk away from this company. It is a waste of money. A monthly fee, a service call fee, then item not fixed, and then now willing to pay out or they drag it out to where you just give up. We've lost food twice, hours of time on hold or trying to get answers. Weeks without a working refrigerator in Arizona, in the summer. Really? Done, done, done....

    A friend of mine that I work with was telling me that she was having issues with something in her house and she was telling me she had a home warranty. I thought that you only had a year when you purchase your home and she was telling me no. So, I went online and American Home Shield had the best price and I liked their overall rating. There were a lot of other companies out there but it was the one that I felt comfortable with.

    The circuit board went out on the microwave and I went online to let American Home Shield know. The website was very easy to maneuver through. I had no issues and I was able to get everything in there. They sent me a text and an email within minutes of me filing the claim to let me know what company would be contacting us. Then, once we had the appointment scheduled, we received another email and text saying what time the person was gonna be out there between. It was the same type of texting and email notice with the follow-up as far as the repair.

    G & L Appliance came out. They tested it and replaced the board. Since then, the microwave is working fine and it’s going well. We have a 37-year-old son who works all kinds of off-the-wall schedule, so having the microwave working is something that's very important. The technician was very knowledgeable, helpful and nice. I was discussing with him that I had gone online and found out about it. Someone had said that it was easy to do but I didn't feel comfortable doing it. He explained to us that if any issue like this does come up, to not try to fix it because if we do, the home warranty company will not fix it because we've technically voided the warranty. We always kept our metal rack in our microwave and he says that this is something that shouldn't be done because metal and microwaves don't match. He suggested that we take it out and not leave it in there.

    The contractors were very professional and they don't talk down to you. They talk to you and explain things. If you ask them a question, they have no hesitation about answering you. The technician was even laughing and telling us a story about someone who had caught their stove on fire. Somebody cooked grease in an oven. It splattered and burnt the whole stove up. He explained to us different situations in which they would and they wouldn't be covered.

    It seemed you could feel that there was air coming through the vent but it wasn't cold. So J&J Mechanical came out the first time. They thought it was just the Freon and they filled that up, and then the following day, it went back out again and then they came back out. They realized that something on the fan was broken. So they went ahead and got that fixed for me and it seems to be working and in order at this time. The people from J&J Mechanical were very personable, respectful and polite. With American Home Shield, I like not having to have to worry if something very expensive’s happening with some piece of equipment, and just having to pay the $100.     I've had American Home Shield for close to 30 years. I have them for four years at this location because we've only lived here for four years but in our previous location, I was a longtime user of their service. Submitting a claim generally isn't an issue. It's just sometimes getting the issue taken care of is the problem. My biggest problem has been with the air conditioning because they sent a company out and they were nothing but shysters, and they didn't do anything. And because American Home Shield had already dispatched them once, they had to dispatch them again to see if they could fix the problem. The people refused to come out, and they did not communicate with me nor with American Home Shield. This has been going on for weeks now. But that's not American Home Shield’s fault necessarily.

    My biggest problem with American Home Shield right now is the wait time to get through to a human being. Sometimes, I'm on hold for an hour or more. Once, I’ve done an hour and nine minutes just to speak to somebody. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with COVID and they're running a skeleton crew, but it's extremely frustrating, especially when the work isn't getting done.

    Some people came out most recently to work on the refrigerator. I had a puddle of water that would show up on the right side of the refrigerator periodically. Finally I just called. I opened the refrigerator one day, and what I call the lunchmeat drawer just fell to the shelf below it. I thought the technician was gonna put in a request for American Home Shield to deny it or accept it, but he didn't. When I called to check on it, they said that I had to make that request, which I did do this morning. I think that technician was just misinformed. I don't feel like I can really nail American Home Shield. They don't know that some of their contractors suck unless we tell them they do.

    I had a fire in the kitchen and I couldn't get it to go out. I called the fire department and they came out. They told me there was a short in the element in the oven, so I called American Home Shield because my warranty covers all my appliances. I held on for 50 minutes on the phone and I was not happy. But once I got to somebody and got over my anger, everything was good. The rep I spoke to was nice, then they contacted the contractor and sent me an email telling me when the techs would be there. And they gave me the number to the company in case the company did not get back with me. But the company did immediately and we had an appointment set up by Thursday for Tuesday.

    The techs who came out were from C & D Appliance Service and they were good. I liked them. I was also glad that AHS didn't send Greenway as I hate them. Other than that, the service from C & D made everything get back to normal. Before that, the fire department shut the power off and I could not use my stove. I wasn't sure if I could use the burners, so I did not operate anything until it got fixed.

    AHS was gifted to me by the owner of the house that I'm now selling and so I continued and I liked their service. The house inspector found that issue with the hot water heater. There was a water line that needed to be replaced and recirculation in the line. The contractor that AHS sent did an excellent job. It's been functioning the time that I was there ‘cause I've left the house. What I don't like with AHS is when I call now, their call center is in another country and I find that difficult to deal with. There's a language barrier. But it makes sense to have that warranty. You never know when something happens with plumbing or electrical. You can tailor your package based on what you can afford and I like that. I am satisfied and I always recommend them.

    American Home Shield's techs came a couple of times for our stove. He determined we needed a new one and said that he was gonna get me a new stove. But then Home Shield didn't replace what we had and they never contacted me about my stove. The three guys they sent who were working on the stove never got things right. So, we dropped AHS and took a backup. More recently, we weren't getting any cool air. I submitted a claim to Home Shield and they sent Stout Heating and Cooling. Things went fine and the owner who was also the tech came out. He did what he had to do. He cleaned out something and put more Freon in the unit. I was very pleased with his work.

    Our air conditioner stopped working about 10 o'clock one night. We called American Home Shield the following morning and they scheduled with an HVAC company. When we checked with the HVAC company Wednesday morning, they could not get a serviceman out to the house until Friday which was unacceptable. We had company staying with us and it was 90-plus degree weather. I have cancer and I can't be easily moved to another location.

    My wife called American Home Shield back and told them that was not gonna to be acceptable. We needed to see if we could find another HVAC company. The girl that she spoke to there was as helpful as she could be in getting the expedited service. They then assigned it to another one that we’re a little more familiar with, and they couldn't schedule it until Thursday. My wife talked directly with the actual company that sent the technician out and they were extremely cooperative and found a way to get someone to us. They said if they got a cancellation, they'd have somebody out as soon as possible. They sent somebody that morning. On Wednesday, the service tech was here and fixed the problem that had stopped the air conditioner. He took information for another issue that he found in the process and they just came back earlier today and finished that installation. The AC is all fixed and it has been working since that week ago when they came.

    Lone Star Water Services came and they were fast. They got done everything they need to get done. I've had American Home Shield for about 15 years and I stayed with them because things are expensive and their process is easy. Something would break at 2 o'clock in the morning and I just go in my computer and type it up. Somebody calls me the next day and I spend $75 as my copay. Most of the time that's all it's gonna take. They give me peace of mind. We've recommended them to my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and several people. When people say it's expensive, I tell them to think about it. They spend $200 a month insurance on a $20,000 car but they've got a $200,000 house. Why would they not spend $75, $85, $95 a month for insurance for that?

    Home Shield's website could be better. If there's an issue, I'd like to be able to give a little explanation as to what's going on. It prepares people for when they come out and they won't have to be surprised. Also, I'd like somebody to answer the phone. It takes a long time for someone to pick up. I would have to wait for like half an hour. They do call a call center in another country and it has frustrated me. I had to elevate it to someone who is a management person who can understand me a little bit better.

    Other than that, I'm satisfied with them. I had a leak underneath my sink and one of the hoses was leaking. I filed a claim and Roman's Rooter came out. The tech was good. At first, he couldn't find it and then he had to come back, which is cool. He came back in time and I'm happy with that plumber. I'm glad I have Home Shield.     The claims part is fine, it's just that I feel sometimes the wait is way too long to get ahold of someone. That's the only part that I struggle with. I know there is the online option, but sometimes if we have to let them know, like if there is something specific going on about the repair, we cannot just generically select it from the website. AHS needs to let the contractors know a little bit more about the repair. I prefer to call them sometimes, and the wait time is just way too much sometimes as well. Otherwise, the service is pretty good. Once they are online, I don't have any issues with them addressing it.

    From the repairs to the parts division, sometimes if the repair has to go once scheduled, and if there are some parts that need to be ordered, as a property manager, we cannot reach them directly. It's only the reps at American Home Shield who are allowed to get in touch with them directly. Ffor me, to go through them and then get the message across to them, the whole process is very long. It gets very aggravating.

    We were getting a tune-up on the AC and we went through American Home Shield. The technician did a good job but the cleaning didn't meet standards. He sprayed the AC but when I looked down in it, I still saw debris. We have been associated with AHS for 15 years and if we have a difficulty with a person or a company that comes out, we call them, report it and corrective action is taken. They send someone out and if it's a contractor that do not meet the requirement and we call them, they call the contractor and they also send someone else out, if it's someone that we're not pleased with.

    AHS gives us an opportunity to choose the contractors that are willing to work with us but they could improve on the time that it takes for you to get a call in. When we do it on the phone, whenever we get through, it takes 24 hours for them to get a contractor out. But because of coronavirus, the timeline that you spend on trying to request a service contract could be shortened. We love what AHS does because we stay with them and I would recommend them to my four sons who are all homeowners. When we go through a claim, we haven't had to have an item replaced. It's time that they can do service on it and fix the problem.

    I had two people coming in for a claim I had with American Home Shield. The first contractor who showed up looked at the heater and immediately assumed that the furnace had been broken for a long time. I contested the contractor’s decision. A second one came in and he was surprised that the first contractor wanted to replace the whole unit, which I never asked for. I just wanted the thing to be fixed. The second guys took care of it and did a great job. They replaced a motor and a switch. It was fixed the same day. I don’t know why the first contractor wanted to replace the whole unit when it was something easy to repair. My AC is working great now and I was very happy with what they did.

    The insurance company was very helpful although, in the beginning, they just went by what the first contractor was saying. They tried to deny the claim until I put a little more pressure on them saying that was not the case. The first contractor put in that the unit was very old like my unit had been broken for a long time. But that was not the case at all. They just wanted to put a whole new unit in.

    I tried to call to put in my claim but it wouldn't let me put in an option and it kinda just pushed me to the website. So I went to the website and did it through there. It took about a week and a half for the contractor to come out the first time. Then they came back out within three or four days. The Freon was low and there was a leak in the coil of my air conditioning unit. So they came back and replaced the whole unit and filled it up with Freon and I had to pay for some of the Freon.     Henry, the technician, came out and determined that it was a circuit board that needed to be replaced. I had done a little bit of investigating myself and so, I came to the same conclusion before he did when he came out. He ordered the part and he said it was gonna take a week. I have a tenant in this house and to my delight, the contractor got the part the next day. The boss and Ace, the technician, came out. The boss said that there was a missing piece. I said that Henry took it. He was supposed to order another part. In addition to the board, there was a tensioner on the belt and he said that Henry never told him that. So, he Jerry-rigged something up and it didn't quite work. It's making a noise and it still hasn't been fixed. So, I called them back and told them. I said that he needs the original part. He said he was looking for it and he would bring it back.

    The boss had a little mess-up with Henry not bringing him the part that needed to be reordered. He got the circuit board much quicker than I thought but the missing part still is missing. He appears to be responsive although it's been a couple of weeks. If that part had been there, then it would've been done. But it works. When we first got an American Home Shield referral, we got two and we picked the one that had good ratings. The first one they gave us had Yelp ratings of 1 or 2. They always seem to get the crappy people the first shot or if there's only one that they offer, then they're the terrible ones because I have some bad experiences on another one. Ace had a 5 rating and lots of people, and the other one had a 1 or a 2 and a lot of people didn't like them. So, we took Ace.

    I'm still fighting with American Home Shield, who had one of those 1 rated companies. This is for a kitchen stove that had a vent problem at a different house. It took about three weeks to get a part and the contractor was very slow. We had a renter in that house too and they came two days before the renter was to come in in April, and found out that the part they ordered wasn't the problem at all. Then, the two repair guys said that it was a very old unit and there were no parts, so it was gonna have to be condemned. So they would go back to American Home Shield and tell them to condemn it. The guy asked if we wanted them to just to leave the thing out since we were getting a new one. I said "Sure." So, they didn't put it back in. It was partially disassembled on the counter.

    I waited for three days but I couldn’t wait any longer. I had to go buy one and put it in. I'll just do the cashout. I waited for the call from the people who approves that and offers a cash buyout. The renter was coming in two days and needs a stove. About a week later, I got a note that I have been scheduled for a new repair person to come out. It was a little late for that. The thing has been disassembled and probably has been thrown away. The part that wasn't gonna work or at least they said was obsolete had no replacement parts. So, I said that it has already been removed and I just want the cashout price. I may have been stonewalled probably by the COVID but they had the inability to close the deal on anything. They said that the repair hasn't been closed. They need to send somebody out to look at it. I said that it’s not there and there's nothing to see. It has been replaced. Their contractor told me it was irreparable.

    AHS said that they couldn’t turn me over to the cashout department until somebody weighs in on this thing. I asked who has to weigh in and the rep said it was the field service manager. So I had about three calls into them and everybody promised to take care of it and call the next day. They didn't call back. There were some notes in the system that the field service manager was contemplating it but it was a complete breakdown in contractor quality control.

    AHS gets the crappiest contractors and stick them out, unless they give you a choice, in which case, sometimes you get good ones, if you can choose. But then, they stick you with one and they have you come out and you got no alternative but to go and pay another $75 to $125, depending what your deposit is, to get a second opinion. Only when a second opinion is acceptable do you get to discount the first service call. So, it's a cluster. Other things have been very happy but that stove has been a disaster.

    I'd like to see some resolution on a March issue where one part of the service guy said that when they called the Thermador, there were no more parts. But then, the owner of that contracting shop sends it off to somebody else. I didn't order a second opinion because I took their word. They're the experts. So now, I'm in limbo with $2,000 out of pocket and getting screwed by them. For an air conditioning replacement, they came out and gave me a quote. I liked it to go to cash-out. It took a little time to get it but that seemed to be smooth.

    The biggest flaw of AHS is in their quality of contractors. They don't vet these guys with real world. They should pull up a Yelp and when you get a bunch of 1's in terms of ratings, that ought to have their radar pinging loudly that these guys are gonna be problems. When they're 4 or 5's, they're probably not gonna have problems. So their vetting process for contractors is hit or miss, at least in Houston. Maybe it's better in other places.

    All Air Heating and Air Conditioning have gone to our house. It's the third service that they've done to our house for our HVAC system. They're wonderful, professional, courteous and on time. Also, the customer representative from American Home Shield was Grace. She's on-point. I had to give her a call just to advise her at the time, and she gave me the notice of when the HVAC tech would be showing up to the house. So, everything was prompt and professional.

    Most recently, we had a frosted AC air line on the Freon system. The gentleman went in. The first thing that I did not check and he checked was the furnace filter, and the issue was the furnace filter. He repaired it in less than 35 minutes because he was also doing the HVAC test of pressure to see if there was any leakage of the AC, Freon, back pressure and the in and outlet. He did that as well just to see if there was any significant change on the AC line. If there was, then, we had a leak. But there wasn't.

    American Home Shield is great. We are on our second year with the insurance. We used to have Liberty Insurance when we barely moved into the house but when we purchased Home Shield, it's been wonderful. The only thing is the price difference. I'm paying less, but I'm paying more in the trade call fee. The trade call service request is a little bit high. It's only for people who are using them more that the cost would be more efficient to them if they're using it throughout the whole year. Other than that, I love the quality. They are prompt. There are no issues as far as getting appointments situated to have a tech or technicians come to our house. The HVAC tech shows promptness, courteousness and attentiveness to the customer. American Home Shield has been recommended to my parents, a couple of my neighbors, and also a coworker of mine.

    My son has American Home Shield, and he told me we ought to sign up for it. Now, we've had them three months. One time, my dryer was making a screaming noise and the oven didn't work. I turned the claim in through the computer on Monday, and Star Services said they'd be out here on Friday. When the guy first came to troubleshoot, I wasn't impressed with him.     My recent claim experience with AHS went very well with the gentleman that came out to fix the dryer. I couldn't get the dryer to heat. He said it was not broken. It was the utility panel where you have all controls that turn the power off and onto your house. He said I needed to have that replaced. He went in behind it and did something, and it's perfect.

    I had a water heater issue and that had been resolved. I went without the water heater for a couple of weeks because maybe a communication thing or a timeline that was involved with the different processes that occur. I try to keep in mind that the COVID is going on and they are probably inundated. I'm very patient, but there comes a time sometimes where it's like, “Okay, what's going on?” It was a couple of weeks process and I was getting a little frustrated because I have a disabled family member that came home. I was trying to make sure I had hot water for the family member. But at the end of it, as long as everything worked out, I'm happy.

    When I first called and I asked, “Do I need to call it for each item?” They said, “No, you could give us a list.” I also had to call in for the garage door. I forgot about that garage door light. I have one company coming out doing stuff, which is fine. Sometimes it just takes time. So, slowly but surely everything has been taken care of. I would recommend them. Everybody in my family had wonderful experiences with AHS, so it's just my situation. I can't be mad. Sometimes stuff happens. It’s still a great warranty company, to be able to come out and fix some of the things that have been broken.

    I have a problem with washer and dryer. The Home Shield rep said that’s on the new company they sent, but he would have to get some approval for a new part because it is broken, both washer and dryer. I'm waiting for that. I tried calling today, but it was 45 minutes waiting and nothing. It's very hard to get ahold of Home Shield. Waiting for 45 minutes and then getting disconnected is very annoying. Who has time for 45 minutes to wait?

    Aside from that, Home Shield chose bad companies before. The guy came in and looked at my washer. He said everything was fine but the water doesn't drain. I kept telling him the problem. He saw the problem and said it's normal. That’s not normal. The water is supposed to be drained. My clothes should not be wet. I wanted to file a complaint about that company because they were so bad. I told Home Shield to send me another company here because the guy didn't know what he was doing with my washer. He kept fooling with the washer and it kept showing DC on it. It’s not finishing and everything is filled with water. And then, he took the dryer apart and didn't fix it either. He left it exactly the way it was.

    Another time, Home Shield sent me someone for the dishwasher. Wasn't very good. But it's not Home Shield's fault. They just hire a company, and then the company comes here and sees. Another problem was the light problem. The company came in but they came back and fixed it, which is good. So, it just depends. The company that Home Shield uses could improve. If they followed up with those people that actually do their job, it will be more guaranteed that they will do the job right. Besides that, everything is good.

    We had a clogged drain, so Harvey's Plumbing & Drain came out. There was a plumber and there was them. We had a clogged drain and so then they were able to get it unclogged. They were pretty efficient and did a good job. The contractors, overall, with American Home Shield were pretty good. I had one I had to complain about a while back and they revoked the agreement they had with him. He didn't seem to want the job. He didn't wear a mask when he came. This was back in April. The attitude plus without the mask, it just didn't seem like I wanted that person. So AHS found me somebody else. I'm very satisfied with American Home Shield. We had another home warranty company and so we went back to them. They had provided good service on a couple issues. But they said $800 for a year and American Home Shield said $600 for a year.

    American Home Shield's service has been absolutely wonderful. I like their response and how quick it is getting someone out as well as the quality of people that come out to service. The online app is great too. They send emails for follow up saying that you were scheduled and your work was completed so you know when something's closed. And when I had the issue with the air conditioning and needed someone to come back out, it was very quick. I'm very satisfied.

    The air conditioner was leaking water a lot of water. I submitted a claim online and they said the contractor would come out in the next 24 to 48 hours. It did happen that way. The tech came and he fixed the tubing. It was good. The contractor was great and so nice. The tech wanted to come inside but we weren't comfortable with the whole COVID-19. He was very respectful.     I had a tub leak and plumbing issues with the shower as well as the kitchen faucet sink. I called American Home Shield, then they called and told me the name of the contractor that was coming.     We have been with American Home Shield off and on since 2011. The only time we haven't been is when we moved into a new house and we had a builder's warranty. It was for a short period of time and they only had a $700 limit to replace the hot water heater, which is not significant. I stayed with AHS because their coverages are good.     My broil in my oven was not working and my washing machine was dripping water when it was not in use. All the buttons kept jumping and syncing. The young man from Appliance Plus was wonderful. He was patient and very nice. He took care of me beautifully. He was with a mask. One appliance took him a little bit longer to get the part, but he was really a pleasure to have. Thumbs up.     American Home Shield has responded really quickly. I'm really happy with the process. J-Tech Mechanical did great. I got a call pretty quickly after the work order was submitted. They scheduled and then did a follow up right before the individual was to show up. I've had it for about two years and my son has had it for seven years. He has really gotten good service out of a couple of different homes he has owned. But Home Shield does not offer preventive maintenance programs for HVAC systems. They should make a contractual arrangement with the service companies around the area for such programs. Last year, I put it in a claim for our swimming pool pump and I immediately got a call from an individual that was handling swimming pool equipment. He talked to me for a minute and he said that the underwater light wasn't part of the program. But they immediately reimbursed the $100 hold on the submittal work order.

    I like American Home Shield's website. It works good and that's all I ever use. I filed a claim and they said I could follow up or I could just call. I called Douglas Mechanical and the people were real nice. They gave me a time. In fact, they installed the air conditioning unit on the Fourth of July holiday which I thought was pretty cool. The sales guy was real good. He walked me through it. It wasn’t that old of a furnace to replace it so I was kind of questioning the replacement. But the guy went through and explained about not being able to get parts because of the Coronavirus and I might have to wait 30 days. It was 100 degrees here that day and I said I didn’t want to wait that long. I upgraded from what the warranty would replace so I want a better unit to match the units I have. He was fair with me.

    The 2 guys who came here were good too. They didn’t speak in English but that’s fine. They were real neat, very polite, and didn’t leave a mess. They followed up here earlier this week. They came back and inspected the unit they put in to make sure everything was good. They did the annual maintenance. I am very satisfied and I like American Home Shield. They've fixed a number of things. I've had them since I bought the house in ‘18 and I had them before on another property that I bought. I just renewed. In fact, I upgraded it. I went to a higher level plan. I've got to claim in now for a washing machine. Sometimes you gotta wait a little bit, but that's okay.

    I had an appointment for Master Pro Repair to come out but I did not get a confirmation that they would come so I called them. I could not get any information and eventually, they did not come. So, I called Home Shield again and told them. They made another appointment but the same thing happened again. I'm having an issue with my icemaker which is now going on three weeks and it still is not repaired. I'm also having a problem with my freezer. The guy told me that they go hand in hand but didn't do anything about it because maybe that was a second repair. And then, I do understand that we're in a pandemic and people are working from home and we're under extenuating circumstances, but to get to anybody, I'm not pleased at all.

    It takes Home Shield an awfully long time to get business taken care of. It's not a right-away process. I call my claims in and it usually takes over an hour or two to get through. And then, once the date has been made by Home Shield, I don't know who will get back with me to let me know that it has been made and when they are coming. Home Shield could be a more responsive. Also, on their website, I don't see a place where I can communicate with them the problems I'm having, and that's why I had to do it by phone. I would like something that allows me to get ahold of somebody online and a place where you can write your concerns.

    I've just had Home Shield for about a year and on the recommendations of my daughter. She has had them forever and she always bragged about how good they are. My husband and I are getting older and we can't do as much as we're able to do in the past. I got the basic package. Our heat exchanger is on the roof of the garage. Our split system is outside. There is a hose that runs from the heat exchanger to the split system that drains the water out. However, it wasn't draining the water outside. We have a big puddle out there and diverting to my plants wasn't draining it. It goes through the house. It clogged up with gunk. I filed the claim on the internet. I thought it was going nowhere. Next day, Home Shield sent me a note and said Integrity would contact me, which they did. They also gave me Integrity's phone number.

    I was amazed that I got a technician out here the next day. I called Integrity when Home Shield gave me the number. I said, "You guys are in Fort Myers, I'm all the way in Venice." The lady was very nice. She said, "We have service techs up and down the coast, so you're fine." It was a great experience. They took care of me real quick.

    The tech came when he said he was coming. He called me and said they will be here the next day. In Florida, that's never the case. Down here, it's do it at your own time. The tech put a vacuum cleaner on the heat exchanger, sealed it and got the stuff out real quick and it quit leaking in our garage. He fixed it in 15 minutes. He said my unit was in good shape. He was very professional and quick. My husband made the remark, "Oh my God, something so easy." But now we know. Home Shield came through.

    LA Standard HVAC did a great job. They explained to me what the issue was, and what stuff is covered by the warranty and what isn't. They figured it out pretty quickly. Less than 15 minutes. The things I thought that were covered weren't. That's fine. The problem had to do with installing one of those smart thermostats. That's not part of the coverage so I paid separately for that. The tech put in the thermostat. Everything works. I received prompt service from Home Shield. They kept me up to date, the contractor showed up on time. Everything is great. So far, I'm happy.

    The tech explained everything that was taking place. He called me down to show me what the issue was and what needed to be replaced. He gave me two different options of how it could be fixed. Fortunately, the one that was preferred is how it was done because we had a choice of it that if he couldn't fix it in the house, he'd pull it out to bring it to the factory and we'd go seven days without AC. We were very happy that he was able to get the part and fix it on site within an hour. Everything went very well.

    American Home Shield's service was awesome. It was pretty quick. I submitted the request online on a Sunday night. I was called the same day and scheduled for the following day. It was very efficient. My husband and I agree this is the best money spent all year long. We signed up for it in June, and it went into effect early June to early July. Prior to that, we would just fix things as things came up but with COVID-19 happening and money being a little tight, it made sense to get all of our appliances covered under one umbrella.

    I love American Home Shield. They're excellent and I'm very happy with them. Recently, I had an issue with one of my AC units where the fan wasn't working. I called a claim in with AHS and they sent out South Belt A/C and Heating. The tech fixed it then he left. I also had an issue with the other AC unit where it stopped working and it was not cold enough. I thought the problem was the Freon but when the technician came, he said that it was the compressor and that they were willing to fix it. But I decided to replace the unit. They took care of it and I send the receipt to AHS.

    I have two AC units and one of them was not blowing cold air. It was set at 80 and it was 87. And in Arizona, that's not a good thing. So, I shut the air conditioner off because it does the bedrooms, then we closed all the bedroom doors and we just slept in the other half of the house that night. I contacted American Home Shield online and they set up an appointment for me the next day. The gentleman called me that night and said he could be here between 12:00 and 3:00. He showed up at 12:45 then he told me to go in and turn the air conditioner on and set it to 68. When I turned the air conditioner on and set it to 68, it blew cold air. At that point, he hadn't looked at anything yet.

    He then proceeded to say that there are three different things that could cause that and he checked all three of them on the unit. It's a split unit, half outside, half inside. Everything he said would be on the outside and he said that all of that checked fine. He also said that if the problem happened again, he wanted me to come out to the unit and check certain things right there. He showed me exactly what to check and said that it could just be an intermittent failure that hadn't gone all the way yet. He said that if this line didn't cool, that means it was broken and to call him. He told me that if this thing ain't working, I should call American Home Shield and they'd send him back out. He was a very nice gentleman and he did a very good job. I was very happy. The AC worked since then, too.

    Other than that, I found out after purchasing the warranty that if something breaks, AHS doesn't put in new units, they put in rebuilt units. I was unaware of that because it's buried in the small print and I don't know if that would have stopped me from getting the policy. But I didn't find out until I had to use the policy on my pool pump. The techs came out and said they'd put in a rebuilt unit. They also said that that was all that AHS would pay for. I dumped the pool insurance as a result of that because it was $200 a year and all it basically covers is the pool pump. A brand new pool pump is $400, so it wasn't worth me spending $200 a year to get a rebuilt pool pump.

    Despite that, I'm gonna keep getting AHS because ultimately, these air conditioners are gonna break. They were here when I moved into the house and I don't know how old they are. And I'm 70 years old. Sometime in the next 10 years, they'll break and I won't even care if they put in a rebuilt unit because I won't be here more than another 10 years.

    American Home Shield sent Affordable Appliance Repair for an appliance issue. I called the contractor up before I submitted a claim. My glass-top on my stove cracked. Before I did anything, I called him up to see if it was repairable or whatever the case will be. He wanted a picture of the model number, so I took some pictures and I sent it to him and then he said they probably wouldn't be covered because it was not broken over the burner. It was more or less to the side of it. He was gonna look up the part and he was gonna let me know how much it cost and I’d probably have to pay it myself.

    So, I went to same website. I put in my model number for my stove, and I seen a counter top that was gonna cost like $374. I thought, “Okay, if that cost that much, I don't know how much it's gonna cost for labor or shipping, or whatever. I might as well just go buy a new stove.” I tried calling the contractor back on Saturday, and I couldn't get a hold of him and he said he was gonna call me back today. But on Saturday, we bought a brand new stove. I didn't know he was trying to submit a claim without me submitting a claim to AHS before.

    I got American Home Shield since I got my house back in '97, and I've been happy with the people that come out to me. I kinda got used to the people and I’ve put in on my profile to only call certain people when things happen. There was a plumber and he was really rude and nasty when he calls, so I told AHS, “I don’t want him no more in my house. I was using Value Rooter. They were pretty good but I heard they're out of business now. They did a job for me and I want to question them about it and I tried calling and the number is no longer in service. It was a plumbing issue on a sewer line outside of my house so it wasn't being covered.

    I'm really satisfied with AHS. Whenever I talk to any family members of mine when they have an issue, I say, “Look, you see, get a home warranty like this for your house, for your appliances and plumbing and electrical." I like AHS. It would be good if they give me a lower price for my rates. They went up. I was happy with the 59. It’s kinda sliding up. Also, it’s no longer $75 for a service call. He charged me 80 something dollars. It was used to be a flat rate. Now they’re charging me more. I had them for years. They don’t give me any credit for being a loyal customer. Other than that, every time we had an issue, we call it in and the contractor calls us right back and it's been taken care of. It’s easy.

    We had a clog in the sink in the bathroom and the bathtub. It was on Saturday that I submitted the claim and someone from American Home Shield gave me a call telling me that I was supposed to call the contractor directly and set up an appointment. I called them on Monday and they came the day after so it was quick. I was satisfied. The person came in and pulled out like bunch of hairs out of the pipe and that was it.     The toilets were not flushing. We had leaks on the faucets. I submitted the claim with Home Shield on the phone. They then said that the person will contact me when they get a chance to contact, and they did. Neal's Plumbing came out. The tech checked out all of the toilets. I liked the way that Neal just came in and told me what was wrong. I said, “Okay,” then he went and fixed it. He had to fix the guest toilet because it was off-balanced and he put it back on balance, and it stopped the leak. He changed its guts, and then he also changed the guts on the upstairs toilet. He just went around and fixed all of them. I like Neal. He takes care of business. Every time he came there, he seemed like a plumber that knows what he was doing, other than that one guy they sent out with a plunger. Neal put everything back to normal.

    We bought our first house and some of the appliances are quite old. We wanted to have that protection for at least the first year of moving in so that if we did have a big expense, we would be covered. We decided to get a warranty and we’ve had American Home Shield since February. Our fridge was squeaking and it sounded like a dog toy. It had been doing that for a couple of months and then, it got a little bit worse. So, we figured it would be better to have it checked out and make sure that nothing was wrong before anything happens. I submitted a claim and the website was easy to navigate. So, it was good. They said that someone from Omega would contact us within 24 to 48 hours and that they would do the scheduling.

    Omega was great and the technician was very prompt. He said that the squeaking noise was a fan on the back of the refrigerator that was starting to go out, so whenever it would kick on to try and cool the fridge back down, it would start to make that squeaking noise as it ramped up. He fixed the fan and we have not had a single squeak. It's wonderful. It's a lot less annoying to live with a quiet fridge than it is with a squeaking fridge and it eased our minds that our fridge wasn't going to die at a moment's notice.

    My husband and I were married and moved in here 18 years ago. The house came with the warranty and we kept it going. Within the first couple years, AHS replaced our hot water heater, our inside air handler, our outside air handler, and garbage disposal. It could have really cost us a lot of money if we were doing unplanned repairs. Instead, it was just the deductibles that we had to meet. We had an issue with the air conditioning unit and the contractor was absolutely really wonderful. They were very professional. They didn't have the part the first day but they kept us informed as to what was going on. The biggest thing was it was 100 degrees and they got the air conditioning unit fixed very, very quickly.

    I'm asthmatic and I have Lyme disease and sometimes AHS doesn't seem to make things a priority that should be a priority. Somebody who have their air conditioning working ineffectively is a lot different than someone with respiratory issues who doesn't have any working. I know they're supposed to take care of things as first come, first served. But sometimes, there should be a little bit of prioritization.

    A few years back, they were going to replace our dryer with a bare-bones dryer. I told them that that was not what I wanted. I've been living with a 30-year-old dryer and I wanted some with all the bells and whistles. But AHS didn't told me upfront that if I wanna upgrade, then I had to take a cash settlement from them and add our money to it to put a new one in. So we have done that with the dryer and the refrigerator too. But I wish they would have been more upfront about that.

    Initially, my Nest thermostat and my AC was acting up. It was making weird noises and my thermostat just kept shutting off. It said there was no power. Repair people came out and they said that the battery on the thermostat was bad. They went up in the attic and found that the condenser and the fuse were bad. They replaced that and the unit ran well. But two days after that, it was still running but there was no air coming out of the vents. I thought maybe it was just the frozen condenser. I turned it off for three hours then I went back and it turned on for about five minutes. Air was coming out but it stopped again. No air was coming out of the vents.

    I initially put another work order online through American Home Shield saying that it was the same issue. It was like 9:30 at night. Vail Heating & Cooling came out yesterday and they got up in the attic. They said that the motor or something was not running and that the bearings were bad. My master bedroom was 89 degrees for the last two days because the unit was not on at all.

    I hate anybody going in the attic because it's Arizona, it's really hot. But the Vail people didn't hesitate. Their guy was up there for 30 minutes. He then came down and said he needed to go buy a part. He had to drive to a store to get it. He came back, went back up in the attic, and spend another 20 minutes up there. He put the part in there and the unit came on then he left. They had another guy come out yesterday and they ordered a little bit. They called me this morning and said the piece they got in was a generic one. I have a Carrier AC unit and they can't use the generic part. They had to get the Carrier part. They then said they would come out this afternoon to fix it.

    When I bought my new house, American Home Shield was offered to me during the closing and I got them. I rented my other house out which I had American Home Shield too. They have been great. I've had a few work orders here and there and all pretty much minor stuff. The only issue I had was the fact that I had a leak in my Freon on an AC unit two years ago and I had to pay $47 a pound. That was like 15 pounds so $900 out of pocket. I went three days without AC and it was like 110. But I was happy to pay the money as long as the unit worked.

    American Home sends a different company every time I file a claim. When my AC was blowing hot air, the technician that came was good. He explained to me that I just needed to purchase three gallons of refrigerant because there was no refrigerant that was why it wasn't cooling. The AC is fine for now. But he told me that there was a bunch of stuff wrong with the AC. He saw that my coils were really dirty and then he recommended that I needed to buy some kind of kit for it that would make the AC unit last longer. He also said that I'd need to hire someone to do it probably before next summer. But because we were at the end of summer, he said not to bother with it. Those are not covered by the warranty and I'd have to pay out of pocket.

    The sump pump wasn't turning off. There was an issue with the float, and so it effectively would just constantly run even if there wasn't water in the drain itself. So, we would have to unplug it to get it to stop running and then plug it in if we wanted it to run. I logged in to American Home Shield and filed the claim there. Their website was good. It was really easy to use and submit the claim. It told me to expect a contractor within a certain time frame.

    Chicago Skyline came out and they were great. They called me the day before to let me know when they were available. Then the day they came, they called to see if they could come even earlier, which worked for us. They were really responsive. When the tech came, he was respectful of putting on a mask to come inside. So, it was great. The float handle was obstructed, and so he had to cut the PVC and rotate it so the handle could drop into the well. It's been functioning great since he fixed it. It's one less thing we have to worry about.

    I filed an AC claim with Home Shield and the phone call back was within a couple of hours. Then, Controlled Comfort came out the following day. It's pretty hot around here in the desert and that was a pretty quick response with everybody having problems. Also, the technician was great. We weren't able to really find out what the problem was with the AC. It shut down for a number of hours the day before he came out and he couldn't duplicate the conditions but he serviced it while I was here. Controlled Comfort was good and the AC seems to be working fine now.

    The air conditioner broke last Monday night. I called AHS on Tuesday and the techs from American Air Conditioning & Heating came on the same day to check it. They came back on Wednesday to take the broken part out and they're supposed to be here today between 8:00 and 11:00 to fix it. This is my 11th day without air conditioning in Texas and I called the contractor twice to follow up. We had to stay at the hotel for five days and I'm surprised they're not here yet. They said between 8:00 and 11:00 but my house is already 88 degrees downstairs, and they have to go in the attic. Other than that, I'm a single parent who's not very handy with my home items and I've had AHS for a long time. Things have worked out pretty well with them, so I reinvest every July.

    The air conditioner didn't work, then I went online and submitted a claim with AHS. I always forget the password, so I went around the passwords. But I was still able to get the order. Still, I always have a problem or have a question to get them on the phone and I'd be waiting two hours on the phone. But at the time, I was working because it was midnight and I knew that the AC was broken and I wanted to go first. I still got the service three days after, though. When the people from Integrity Air Conditioning called, I told them I have a sick husband and that we couldn't have no air conditioning for a long time. But they couldn't come and the earliest was three days because they were booked up. I understood that because it's like having one doctor in the whole area. They were also very nice and they changed the parts on the AC.

    Everything has been functioning very well since the repair and the tech even went to check the system of condenser in the attic, which was very hot. I'm in Florida and this happened during the hot days, so I didn't expect that. But he checked out everything and it was perfect. And this little part is breaking from time to time, but not every year, just every few years. I always have AHS sending me people here if I have a problem with the air conditioner and in my 11 years of being here, I had them out only three times.

    All in all, I'm satisfied with AHS. Every year, they're doing an automatic fee renew, which is good. Their price is also in our budget, so that's why we're using them. But I have to talk to them about the renewal because I was promised a lot of stuff in the contract and this is very hard on us because it is very hard to get to them. Good service is not only good internet and website, but also to have somebody on the other line.

    I called in a repair. Then we got it fixed on our own regarding a leak. It was fixed in an hour. I called and canceled the repairman. I was still billed a hundred dollars and no one ad I do mean no one will come to the phone to get my money back. Do not use these guys, They are terrible. I have called 7 times. Always a recording saying the hold is an hour. I have written two snail mailed letters. No one calls back. DO NOT USE THEM> THEY ARE BAD. They owe me money and will not refund the money.     Updated on 08/05/2020: Effectively blocks communications by placing customers on hold interminable hold. Allegedly approved replacement, no way to contact to continue remedy. EFFECTIVELY BREACH OF CONTRACT. Does not return calls, has no means of voice mail or other customary practices of communication. Online account shows complaint closed out but that's misleading. Filed complaint with BBB and contacting state attorney generals.

    Original Review: (1) No power to cooktop. Appliance repair tech could not replace circuit breaker, which I had reported as the problem. Electrician required. AHS verbal was another fee required to get electrician. Finally had replaced at my own expense. Subsequently found a referral at no fee had been entered into the AHS records. But after 5 days, we could use the cooktop, no thanks to AHS.
    (2) Dryer required multiple cycles to dry clothes. AHS recorded 7/13. Heating element replaced, finally, on 7/31.

    (3) Washer requires spider gear/drive. I suspected that on 7/13, confirmed when tech first visited on 7/14. Not fixed. AHS status online: “Appointment Set.” Beyond that, AHS informs the customer of the name and phone number of the local contractor...

    AHS apparently has NO MEANS TO UPDATE STATUS online. Phone call “hold” time in excess of 90 minutes. If call back option is selected, well, I received two callbacks of three. BUT NO STATUS. Instead of leading, AHS passes the buck to the local contractor. The AHS agents have been unable to provide status other than “appointment set” and I have provided status to the agents.

    Most recently, I was asked by an AHS agent if the cooktop had been fixed or if I had contacted the designated repair contractor? Folks, the process is broken and so is my washer. Response times are excessive, wait times on hold are ridiculous, and IMHO this company has failed to provide responsive performance or communications. Why, on the website or by phone, should I be told to contact the contractor when the decision process rests with AHS? After all, my contract is with AHS. I would certainly not want to be a contractor for AHS and be harassed for status! Of course, not all reviews are published and are subject to a “Moderation Team”. I doubt anything critical ever makes the published reviews. It will be interesting to see what AHS tells the BBB.

    Updated on 08/03/2020: I purchased two home warranties on two homes and paid on them for seven months. I gave the company my VISA for them to auto charge my card each month. They charged for one, but not for the other. Each month, I would receive phone calls from their agents leaving messages that my account was in arrears. I would call them, stay on the phone for at least 45min, waiting for an agent to speak to me. I would explain that they had my VISA card, were charging me for one home and needed to do the same for the other. They would promise that the issue was cleared, only to again have agents call me stating that I was in arrears. Again, I would call and spend a minimum of two hours trying to get this straightened out.

    One month, they sent me to COLLECTIONS. My credit score is 800-excellent. I had to call that company, then the American Shield to get this cleared up. Again they promised to clear it up. ...and DID NOT. I have spent a minimum of 25 hours talking to agents, waiting to talk to agents, and was told I could not speak to a SUPERVISOR! All of this has Stressed me out and finally decided to cancel both contracts. After spending 2 1/2 hours on the phone with them again, THEY ONLY CANCELLED ONE CONTRACT, necessitating that I waste more time getting the two contracts cancelled.

    On top of this, they charged me an ADMINISTRATIVE FEE OF $25.26 for not being timely on my payment they said!! They have horrible customer service. Their agents are outsourced, they're inefficient and irresponsible. The last time I spoke to one of their agents, he said he would call me between 12-1pm the following day to ensure that my account was closed. He called me at 7pm.

    Original Review: I signed up for American Home Shield in Dec, 2019, when I purchased a home. In Jan 2020, I decided to add my rental property to my American Home Shield account as well, as I had been insured through a different company. I've had nothing but problems with them. My credit card was on file for the company to charge me through my bank's auto pay. I was told that I needed to keep them on two contracts, meaning that there would be two different payments to which I agreed. Every month, they fail to charge me for the rental property. I receive phone calls asking that I call the main number which I do. I speak to an AHS agent who assures me that they will correct the problem.

    Every month, it's happened again. One month, they sent me to collections. I had to call the collection dept myself and then AHS to clarify this. I have an excellent credit score of 800 and don't want any blemishes on my score. Each time I call AHS, I'm on the phone for hours, waiting to be connected, then more time talking to someone whom, most of the time, I don't understand their English as they have stated they're working from East Asia.

    Today, I called again, was placed on hold, and when they finally answered, I was disconnected and the agent never called me again. Three days ago, I called one of the telephone numbers on their letter heads, and a man answered saying that they had prizes for AHS customers of $100 for being customers, no obligation. They indicated I needed to pay $2.99 and within 5-7 days I would be receiving a visa card with $97.01 under no obligation.

    They would not assist me with my concern on the payments until I settled this giving them all my personal info and visa info as well. I did, and was I stupid for falling for this! As soon as they took all my info, they hung up on me. I called another number to AHS to report this, waited for an hour, spoke for a few seconds to the agent, and the call was dropped. He never called me back. Now, I'm back again at this, attempting to cancel my accounts. I DON'T WISH to do business WITH such an IRRESPONSIBLE COMPANY. WITH all that has happened, I imagine that if I did need SERVICE, it would also be an ASTRONOMICAL PROBLEM!!!

    We have been customer past 13 years for 2 location but never been that bad of your services. It is just a broken oven and since begin of June we try fix. Service is a disaster and you offer new one. We choice something from stock of Whirlpool but we can’t get item. Every time 7-10 days delivery. Now 31st July and finally no news and no oven. Total my calls waiting time is 16 hours. Today’s call after 4 hours waiting someone answered and immediately hung up the phone. I cannot bear with your service and making me stupid anymore. I am going to complain BBB and call the department of insurance and compliant of your act of customers. New people don’t believe them. They are not the same company like 10-13 years ago. They changed with super bad quality of customer service.

    I have an open claim (on 7/6/20) with AHS on an oven which they now can't fix. They were supposed to contact me with a resolution. They never did. I go to there web site and the say the claim is "closed"---which it isn't!! So I call them on TH 7/30. I'm told I have an hour+ wait. I forget it and try FR 7/31. Same story. This time I wait 64 minutes for a person to respond. They can't help. They transfer me to the RESOLUTIONS DEPT. I'm on hold there 2.5 HOURS and they never did answer. I call back again today 8/3 and they tell again I have an hour+ wait. This is totally insane. They blame COVID. Baloney!! Hire more people or do whatever to service clients. I have been with AHS for over 20 years--I'm finding something else. My advice to you: go elsewhere if you want service!

Robert Scott in the Consumer Affairs department (Consumer Affairs ) not only got back to me quickly and often, but followed up and helped drive the several issues to closure. He was responsive and professional and the only reason I am not cancelling my AHS subscription. Thank you Robert!

    I still would like the senior management team up to the CEO to know that the hold times and follow through with your "standard" processes which most people have to go through is unacceptable and the fact that you haven't addressed it yet is disgraceful.

    American Home Shield. I have 3 service requests (Refrigerator, Dryer, Hot Tub) that have been open for over 3 weeks with absolutely terrible service. I have literally been on hold for over 9 hours in the last week (calling again this morning and it says 'the wait time is over an hour'), I have not gotten responses nor email follow up. I have been an AHS customer for 15+ years and this is the worst experience I have ever had and plan to move my business to First American Home Warranty. I strongly recommend dumping AHS until their customer service improves. I have been without a working refrigerator and dryer and AHS is slow playing me to avoid making good on their contract. I am going to the Better Business Bureau next. AHS- What is wrong with your leadership that you could let this happen. Read more of the comments on Facebook from your really unhappy customers. Your service is terrible and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

    On July 22, 2020, I made a service request for the HOYT ENERGY MASTER water heater, Model N50HM SIN50, in my rental property located in Rancho Cucamonga, California, and paid a $75.00 Trade Service Call Fee. There was a lack of sufficient hot water; the water kept turning cold before my tenants were through with showering or doing the dishes or laundry. The water heater was the original with the house, which was built by Lewis Homes of California in January 1986. On July 22, 2020, at 1:13 PM, American Home Shield sent me an e-mail that Plumbers, Inc. had been assigned as my service contractor. On July 22, 2020, at 2:31 PM, American Home Shield sent me an e-mail that my appointment with Plumbers, Inc. had been scheduled for July 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.

    On July 22, 2020, at 6:25 PM, I called American Home Shield and spoke with “Larry" regarding Plumbers, Inc., which has a Better Business Bureau rating of “F, seven (7) customer reviews from April 14, 2020 thorough July 3, 2020, all associated with American Home Shield and all negative, and was unable to evaluate my water heater until Tuesday, July 28, 2020, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. I requested that another plumbing contractor be assigned. On July 23, 2020, at 6:15 AM, American Home Shield sent me an e-mail that Mc Pherson Bros Plumbing had been assigned as my service contractor.

    On July 23, 2020, at 9:15 AM, Michael Mc Pherson of Mc Pherson Bros Plumbing tore the water heater insulation blanket off, and evaluated the water heater. There was a lack of hot water, and the shower tub temperature was 91 degrees. He informed me that he would be recommending to American Home Shield that it be replaced under the ShieldPlus Real Estate Home Service Plan. On July 23, 2020, at 11:16 PM, American Home Shield sent me an e-mail that “Our records indicate your service order is complete."

    On July 25, 2020, my tenants had no hot water. The pilot on the water heater was lit, but the burner would not come on. I called Mc Pherson Bros Plumbing and left a message on their answering machine at 11:15 AM. I placed a service request with American Home Shield online at 11:16 AM and spoke with “Graham” of American Home Shield at 11:19 AM, who called Mc Pherson Bros Plumbing and also left a message. Graham informed me that another service provider could not be assigned. I subsequently spoke with “Leo” of American Home Shield, who told me that Mc Pherson Bros Plumbing would be returning on July 29, 2020, and when I requested another service contractor be assigned prior to that date she tried reaching Plymwr Plumbing in Riverside, California without success.

    On July 27, 2020, at 10:18 AM, Michael Mc Pherson of Mc Pherson Bros Plumbing called me and indicated that he had informed American Home Shield, on Saturday, July 25, 2020, that he would be unable to come to my house until later in the week of July 27, 2020. Mr. Mc Pherson said that American Home Shield told him that it would be assigning another service contractor. On July 27, 2020, at 4:47 PM, “Myeisha” of American Home Shield called and informed me that Plymwr Plumbing had been assigned and would be contacting me in 24 to 48 business hours to schedule service.

    Plymwr Plumbing never contacted me. American Home Shield, in a pandemic, cannot reasonably expect me to expect my tenants to go without hot water indefinitely. I had the water heater replaced on the afternoon of July 29, 2020 by an independent service contractor, paid the contractor directly, and submitted proof of payment to American Home Shield for reimbursement. If American Home Shield does not reimburse me as requested, I will proceed with the dispute remedy.

    Submitting claims online works, but sometimes you don't know. Like this last one, I didn't know if it was plumbing or air conditioning that's why I had to call. Then when calling American Home Shield, I waited on line for 40 minutes and then it said the line does not work and to call back. With my most recent claim, Clovis Heating and Cooling got here early and they saw that there was a lot of water pooling in our ceiling. They cleaned it up and then fixed the air conditioner. They took care of the problem. It's just that they didn't wear masks.

    The door wouldn’t open up all the way because the spring was broken. We filed a service request with AHS and they sent Precision Door out. They had to replace the spring, but AHS said that the spring was not covered by the warranty and we're not happy about. We ended up letting Precision Door replace everything that was needed and we paid them 1,100 because we bought the lifetime warranty from them. The techs were very good and tried to explain what needed to be done, and we agreed to go ahead and put a new one. The door works good now and it’s even more quiet and smoother. But since we bought the whole thing, we still were charged $75 for them to come here even if the guy who did the service told us that they were going to waive the $75. Also, we're not good with computers and we can't go online whenever we have a concern with AHS, but it's also hard to get a hold of them on the phone.

    I've called many times to American Home Shield for different things. One time, I called for a plumber and the job was done quickly. It took four days because of the pandemic, but normally, the contractors respond very quickly. My house is in California City so it's a long drive, but even though my house is really far, I usually have a good experience with them. American Home Shield made my life so easy. When I've called on the phone, they've always been very nice and very helpful. Their system is also easy to use and I'd rather go there than wait on the phone. All we do is enter the work order and it clearly sets instructions on either the vendor's gonna call us or we call the vendor.

    I've always had a good experience with the vendors and with the way things are handled. However, some of the vendors don't give a follow-up call after they're done with the work. Considering that my house is a vacation home and I have someone else there right now, sometimes I don't know whether or not the issue was fixed, what the issue was or why it got broken. I gave American Home Shield that feedback, and now, the vendors are calling me after or before the work is done to let me know what needs to be done.

    When I bought this policy from Home Shield, the lady said if something does not work, they would fix it and if it's not fixable, they would replace it. After five weeks, our dryer didn't work good and I called them. They sent me Chesapeake Appliance Repair and they disappeared for a couple of weeks. They never contacted us and we left a message. We called back Home Shield a few times and we finaIly got news about the claim. But I’m not happy with the service and I'm very disappointed at the company Home Shield hired.     We really appreciated the help of MSC. He was a very good contractor. As matter of fact I would recommend him. They were a second choice in terms of a second opinion and the company before MSC, to my opinion, were fraudulent. This house is 21 years old. The toilet was original, and it's also 21 years old. The tank itself, according to what the MSC contractor was telling us was that it was put on too tight. So what happened was over time, it caused the tank to fray. It was so tight, and over time, it cracked. The plumber before him that came out claimed that it wasn't a situation that was warranted. So he then gave my husband an estimate of what it would cost him to replace it. We already knew the situation because when the toilet popped and there was the spew from the tank, we knew over time it was an issue. That couldn't be helped. It was old.

    We kinda stopped using American Home Shield in the beginning. We had them before and I canceled the contract with them probably two years in because it turned out almost every person that was sent out would not be just a deductible situation, but it would turn out to be something much more than that. Then we got them again and this is on the second time around. Things are better but every so often you get someone like the first plumber that came out that give you this outrageous $200 and some estimate for my husband to buy the parts and he puts it in, or if he bring the parts with him and put it in, it’s $400 and some.

    So, I knew then it was something not right. The house is some years old. Well, it was original. The second plumber comes out, and it turns out that this first plumber has a reputation that's not good and it's evident why. The second one was great. He came in, saw the problem and he put in his report, and it was repaired. The first plumber didn't even put a report in. He didn't even come back to tell us that he had spoken with American Home Shield to give them a report because he hadn’t given them one. I found that out by having to call back because he never got back with us. All he did was give us a huge estimate and leave.

    We've had American Home Shield for a while and I enjoy the experience they give me. They're on top of everything. Every now and then, if there's something wrong, they get to the point right away. The next day or sometimes even the same day, the contractor calls me and makes the appointment. I love Triple S Plumbing. They did a great job and they are the best contractor I've had. I've had two or three others in the past and they were okay but not like Triple S was. Triple S is professional. The rep showed me and told me exactly what was going on. Before he left, he made sure everything was working.

    The sink in the bathroom was clogged up and the rep had to go underneath. He told me that he pulled out a bunch of hair and then, the sink was actually with the bathtub near the bathroom, it was clogged up so he had to snake it. He said he went 25 feet down below. The garbage disposal was not working as well and he tried to fix it but he couldn't. So, he ordered a new one. The faucet in the kitchen is still leaking and he told me to give him a call back if it didn't fix the problem. They'll see if they can order a new faucet. Other than that, everything's working great.

    I had a faucet in my kitchen that was not working. The gentleman came out and he found out that it was a Delta faucet and it had lifetime warranty on it. So he took it apart and cleaned the base of it out and it started working again. He gave me the information on how to order the spray thing on the side because it was leaking at the top. He said AHS didn't cover the spray handle. He did an excellent job. He knew what he was doing and he was there in a timely manner. My faucet is working like it's supposed to work now.

    The first time Blizzard Air came out, the air conditioner wasn’t working. It was low on Freon and had a leak. I had that taken care of before my homeowner’s warranty kicked in. So, I was kinda surprised at that. I had somebody come out twice before to fix it and put Freon. The last time Blizzard Air came out, they fixed the capacitor and the time before that, they sent someone to clean the vent or something that had to have a special guy come and clean it. The guy who repaired it did what he could. It's a three-ton unit and it's 1,350 square feet, which should take care of up to 1500 square feet, but it's not keeping the 77 in here now. By the time the afternoon rolls by, it's close to 80 in here, if not 80. Then overnight, as the air cools, it gets a little better. There isn't anything they can do because it's working.

    The guy that comes out for Blizzard Air was very disrespectful to my niece who is the one who is usually here when he comes out. He was dismissive and rude. But when I come out a little, he's a little nicer explaining and I appreciated it. He was the one who suggested that American Home Shield has an upgrade type policy. This is the first time I've ever had a home warranty. So, I was a little ignorant even though I tried to read and be educated on it. So at first, I was upset because they were gonna charge me. It cost me quite a bit the first time they came out because of all the Freon, except for the first $10. But next time, I'll be more educated and I’ll know more. I'm doing some remodeling on the house so I had insulation in the attic and that still isn't helping enough. The lady that I bought it from said that when she remodeled the house when she had it, it had good insulation in the wall. So, that's the next thing I can do.

    We had a previous warranty company before that I had a bad experience. We swapped over to AHS. My sister uses the company which is how we heard about them. The experience has been great. We've gotten our things resolved in a timely manner. I haven't had any issues with billing and I can get this stuff online. I had a leak and they had a plumber sent out. He came in and repaired the leak. He also took some pictures of everything and then sent it back to the warranty company. Then they scheduled an appointment with the Quality Construction people to fill in the holes that were created in the ceiling to repair the plumbing. The guy came in and was here for about 45 minutes, did a fast job, cleaned everything up and left. I only wish that AHS has a mobile app. Their online experience on the phone is a little cumbersome.

    The AC wasn't cooling and the provider came and diagnosed and assessed it. It went well. They were able to make a fix. However, it was temporary because the same problem occurred. So they're coming back out tomorrow. Overall, I've been pleased with American Home Shield. It's very convenient, especially having the internet access. We submit the claim and then we usually get pretty good response. But because of COVID-19, it's taking longer for people to come out because providers are pretty busy.

    The tech from Element came on time on Saturday, but he didn't have the Freon for the unit. So he said that he was going to return on Monday. Then he was checking and he went to the attic and found something else. He said that he was going to come today in the morning but he didn't show up. So I called him and he said that he's going to come on Wednesday. I'm not too happy. He was very polite, but he didn't have any Freon or the computer. He may not have the computer but he could go and take it from somewhere. On the other hand, American Home Shield is very good. I am very happy with them. This is the third time that I reported the air conditioner, and they came and fixed my washer, which was a very good one. Their claim process is very good.

    The kitchen sink was clogged. Everything went really well when the technician that AHS sent got there. It was a hard job and he did a really good job. He was very proficient and very professional. For this call, the experience was excellent. He was good at what he was doing and it was great. The one for the smoke detectors, we had three people come out and they didn't do a good job. The alarms would go off at 3 o'clock in the morning and we would wait. Sometimes it would last for an hour and sometimes it'd break for 15 minutes and then go again. They couldn't fix it and they had to call an electrician, and he came and fixed everything. It was really bad.

    The pool filter was going on and off and J&L Pool came out and installed a refurbished motor. It's working fine. My pool guy said we should’ve gotten a motor that’s more up-to-date but Home Shield would only replace it for what it was so I'm not sure it's such a good deal for us for what we pay. We pay Home Shield around 900 a year because we have a pool and we have paid more in premium than we've ever used it. We’ve used it once to replace a microwave, once for a part of an air conditioning unit, and then this pool motor. Their service is okay but it's very expensive.

    I like my experience working with American Home Shield. The men from Redeemed Heating & Air were quite professional. I'm always on edge being that I'm by myself now but they made me feel very comfortable. I learned a couple of things about my thermostat that I didn't know existed and we found out the reason why the thing was going offline on occasion. That was fixed.

    They checked the air intake and the filters were fine. I told them I change them every six months. They went out and worked on the air conditioner at that time. They found that the air conditioner was low on fluid that was why it was cutting out with the hot and cold and running all day. I've been here four years and it's never been serviced. They serviced it. They were very good. I've not had a problem with anybody that American Home Shield have sent. They've been prompt and professional. They get the job done right. The electrician that I called for had told me that he lives very close to here so if I need something, he'll be coming out the first thing in the morning being I'm five minutes away from him.

    When the AC was not working, I just signed in on my phone, then clicked a couple of times and submitting the claim was done We had the initial contractor, which was Sirius Plumbing & Air Conditioning, and then they had to order the part, but it took a week and a half from the beginning to the very end, which was really good. The tech was professional. He gave us all our options, not just the repair, and was transparent about everything. He just wasn't out to make money like most of them do. I appreciated that.     My air conditioner wasn't working properly. Family Heating & Cooling was assigned by Home Shield to come out and it took them three days to get here but besides that, it was great. They said the AC needed a Freon recharge but it was so little, they didn't charge me for the actual Freon. Also, they said it's got a small leak but they can't find it. It's so minute of a leak that they're not detecting it. Hopefully, they can find it so I don't have this problem every year.

    We had American Home Shield a year for when we bought the house and it expired on the 25th of July. Before that, our microwave quit working, and Partshub handled the claim fine. They were out promptly, told me that it wasn't gonna be able to be repaired and I'm assuming they sent the report to American Home Shield. I've not heard from American Home Shield, so I called this morning and they were supposed to call me back. I left my number for them to call me back, but I have not heard from them and I don't have any clue when I'm supposed to get my microwave replaced.     American Home Shield sent Service Contractors of Texas in Dallas out for my AC issue. When they came the first time, I asked the tech if what he did was gonna fix my issue. He said "yeah" but then a week later, the unit broke down again and he had to fix a different part. AHS should get repairs done quicker. With my AC issue, the repair was done within four days which wasn't too bad. But then, I had one weekend before when I had to leave my house 'cause their techs couldn't repair my problem.     I call Home Shield and within 24 hours they return with the service man calling for an appointment and that was it. Then they check up the appointment and come out. Recently, my ice maker went out. Because of the Coronavirus, it took a week to get the contractor here. But that was the ice maker so I wasn't too concerned that I used a couple of bags of ice. I understand with the Coronavirus and Home Shield getting calls on air conditioning is more important. It was a Thursday that I called and then Runyon Appliance Repair took a week from Thursday. But the tech was there on time when he was supposed to and I have no problem to wait for that type of thing. If it was my air conditioner then I would want them to be out today. I'm in Arizona.

    I have one complaint. I've been with Home Shield for two years and I have been asking for a booklet on what’s covered and what’s not. They keep telling me they would send one out but they never have. I called three times on a booklet. I want a booklet to know what my benefits are covered. Every member of their company should have a booklet sent out on what their benefits are, what is covered and so forth. Other than that, the tech was a very nice gentleman and he did a great job. He had to change out the computer board on the ice maker and did everything he was supposed to do. I'm very happy with him.

    Chris, the plumber from A&B, had to come out multiple times to address the issue. He got the parts, the parts didn't fit, he had to come back and it took a little longer but he completed the job the way it’s supposed to be, and other things that were associated with plumbing in the house. The repair took about a week. I was fine with it because I was in the process of fixing other things within the house. It was not in emergency per se, because nobody was living in the house for that seven days.     My kitchen refrigerator and my dryer weren't working. American Home Shield emailed the claim to the Express Appliance and the company called me on the same day about when the technician gonna come. The technician did a good job. The refrigerator right now is working but the dryer is not working that much. The tech checked the dryer and he said it was heating up. But it's still not drying. Last year, I called for my dryer too. Then after a couple of months, the same problem came back again. But the tech immediately fixed my refrigerator when he came so I still would prefer to take Express Appliance.

    I only did a claim once and it was streamlined. The electrical in the kitchen and the fans wouldn't work. American Home Shield had somebody who was texting me before I got off the phone. We scheduled for two weeks and they took care of it. When it came to my fans, I know AHS has a certain allotted amount to purchase something. I just think that if I have the allotted part and if I'm getting it done over anyway, why can't I pay the additional to get a better product that I want? I’ll also pay for my own upgrade. If they have something that costs 100 bucks, then that's all they can do, but I want something that's $250. They still won’t put it in, but I can put my own 150 and pay for it. Other than that, I’m staying with them.

    There was a bunch of stuff broken inside the interior part of the split AC unit. The fan relay and some other electronics for the fan weren't working. Cool Experts corrected that. But it still wasn't cooling to what I would consider appropriate in Texas. So they came back and found that the previous servicer had overfilled the coolant which damaged the compressor. So they fixed the coolant charge and replaced the compressor. Now, things appear to be fine. The claims process is fine and the online stuff is pretty good. The only problem is there's no way to escalate something online like for air conditioning which is pretty crucial in Texas. You have to call and wait on the phone. I don't have time to be sitting on the phone so that's really a huge problem for me. Cool Experts was able to solve the problem, but AC repair in the summer here in Texas was quite an affair.

    I was having a leakage from the hot water valve in the laundry room and my waterline was leaking in the back of the refrigerator. My assigned contractor was Water Control Plumbing and their tech resolved the problem. It went well. I thought it was the pipe but it turned out that the person from the previous company that came out for my laundry room didn't tighten up a screw all the way up from the main hot water valve. That was why there was leaking. All that really needed to be done was for the screw to be tightened up. In the end, I paid for something that the previous water company did. I told American Home Shield that I wasted another $125 for Water Control to come out but they didn't say or do anything about it.

    It is very hard to get in touch with American Shield. I spend a whole day, sometimes two days, to get in contact with them because they'll have me on hold for over an hour. After I've waited for an hour and a half going on two hours, the phone would just completely cut off. They’re very discouraging. I then start back over from scratch again. I call and stay on hold for another hour. It's a mess.

    I've had plenty of issues with American Home Shield. I'm in one right now. I called them for my stove. They couldn't repair the stove so they gave me money for it. It turned out I'm not having good services with them. I bought a new stove and I called American Home Shield asking them if they come out to hook the stove up. They said no and that the contract doesn't cover that. Another thing is I had to purchase the stove with my own money. They said they would reimburse me but it would take up to 21 days. I have to wait to get reimbursed $2,800 when I spent 3,000 and some odd dollars out of my pocket. I'm in a bind right now. As soon as I can get another, I'm gonna try someone else.

    I’ve been with AHS for 15 years and it's hard to get a person to talk to sometimes. Also, they’re getting expensive. The initial call is now over $100. It used to be much more reasonable. The garbage disposal wasn't working and the rep from Mr. Plumber was very nice. He took care of what needed to be done within an hour because I told him and he listened to me. He ordered a new garbage disposal. It's not worth to repair those things. They're so cheap. It took him a few minutes to install it when it got here. If I have more work for him, I would call him and hire him again. I had a microwave incident also and it was declared unable to be fixed. American Home Shield agreed to replace it and we just never did. A couple of years have gone by, which is a wonder that repair is so good.

    American Home Shield is saving face from last year with the air conditioning going out and the service. The guy who came kinda walked in, went outside, and said that the air conditioning unit needed to be cleaned up. We knew that was not it 'cause the people already did that. He wouldn't go upstairs to look at the unit that leaked and said he would be back the next day. He never came back. It just got worse. We finally called somebody else ourselves and we paid for the whole thing. It was not fun. American Home Shield didn't reimburse us with that.

    Then my first negative experience was our faucet sink was leaking and we called someone in. Home Shield called back and said they wouldn't cover anything because someone intentionally broke the faucet which just totally pissed me off because who would go around and break their faucet? We just moved in which maybe it was already broken and covered it up. It wasn't a nice conversation with the guy and I didn't want him calling my house again either. Other than that, I've had other plumbers out there and I had one who I absolutely loved and adored. That was Daniel. I would give him any day of the week. If I have to go out and get one on my own, it would be that particular company person.

    Recently, the hot water tank was leaking and the tech from High Priority Plumbing came out. When he came to the door, he stood back. He didn't even come up the stairs. He walked in the door and went back down to the driveway so he kept social distance. He was very cordial, nice, friendly, and seemed as if he knew what he was talking about. We got a new hot water heater. Now I had to get an extended one because the policy doesn't cover a whole lot. I was counting my dollars this year to see if it's gonna add up in not renewing. I was hesitating on renewing because the air conditioning is a lingering issue with me.

    The pipe in our basement was leaking. After submitting our service request, Home Shield sent out Dawson Services. They responded to our service request pretty quickly. Once the guy arrived at our house, it took him about an hour or two hours to finish the service. He did very well. He cleaned and put the pipe in. He also cleaned up the unit outside of the house. We are very happy with his service.

    I only wish Home Shield could have replaced our unit outside because it’s very old. I set the temperature inside the house to be like 70 but even when the AC is on, the temperature inside the house will not reach 70. It’s fine if I set the temperature to 75. Other than that, their service is good. Once I submit a request, they always reply to me within one day. My friend told me there are some other home warranty companies that are even better. But I am happy with Home Shield.

    When I bought the house, the owner had American Home Shield. I knew it would be beneficial with me having it, because I know if something breaks, it’d cost me a penny if I don't have some warranty. Recently, I have a unit on the wall and there's a wick that goes into a pan at the bottom of the water heater to stop the flow of the water if it starts to overflow. The contractor came out and he changed the batteries. He told me a few things and he let me ask him questions. Everything's functioning okay right now. I submitted that claim online and the website was good. It didn't take me long. One time, I had a question about it, but then I went ahead and I selected the right one for the hot water heater. But there was something else I was looking at. Other than that, it was easy.

    The contractors called me the next morning ‘cause that was 11:00 o'clock at night to tell me that they'd come to take a look at what was going on. They were gonna come out on Monday. But then I asked, “I gotta wait till Monday?” The rep said, “I’ll try to fit you in the schedule this morning,” which they did and which I appreciated. It was the second time, cause the same thing happened to me before. It happened on a Friday night, and I couldn't get any service till Monday and all the contractor did when he came out was push a button. When stuff happens on the weekend, that means you gotta wait a whole weekend in order to get it done. Also, $75 to come to change the battery or come push a button, it's expensive. But other than that, what they did was fine. I've never had anything major. So, if you don't have to pay a big deal, that always helps.

    I had some kind of leak. I called in for the contractor to come out. I just gave my name, and then Home Shield just said they would send out somebody and I would get a phone call. They emailed that I would get a call within 24 hours. Alta Vista Plumbing came out and the tech had his mask on, and he was polite. He checked a plumbing leak and something else. The repair kept everything going okay. It was nice to get it taken care of and to know that you can budget $75 for the co-pay, and then I wouldn't have to worry that I had to come up with the money if it was something that was bigger. I always recommend Home Shield. Several people have got it since I recommended them. All my kids have them.

    I had a claim for an AC issue and it was handled fine. American Home Shield definitely helps on a lot of stuff. The washer goes out and within a week's time, I've got somebody out there getting it fixed. That’s something when you’ve got five people in the house. You can't do without a warranty. However, when I have a major issue, it seems like it cost me a lot of money when I’m paying every month for the policy.

    American Home Shield messed up one time when I had a hot water heater come out. They dropped the bucket on me. They didn't handle it right. The hot water heater was only two or three years old. It still had a warranty on it. But American Home Shield was gonna buy me a new hot water heater and it was gonna cost me $800 to have the plumbing company put the new hot water heater in. It cost me $135 to replace the hot water heater and my brother and a neighbor put it in for me. I'm not giving $800 for somebody to put a hot water heater in. I never was able to talk to American Home Shield to tell them what was going on. It's aggravating but I guess that's the way these companies are run.

    I was recommended by a friend to American Home Shield. I recently had a claim and it went well. Sierra Mechanical Service came out. I was able to call and get in contact with somebody. They answered the phone when I needed them. They were able to answer my questions. When the guy came out, he was very professional, wore a mask, and was very intelligent as far as knowing what was wrong with how to fix it and how to keep it running like brand new. I would recommend him to anybody. On the first service call I had with American Home Shield, there was a little issue but it was more so the company not being able to get in contact with the first people. When the tech came out, he was cool. I was having an issue with my washer, and they fixed it. Everything is good.

    The first claim we had with Home Shield back in May was for a washing machine. General Electric told us that they wouldn't be getting the parts until July 27th. My husband was trying to call Home Shield to find out if it could be hurried up a little bit. He was on the phone at least 45 minutes every time we tried calling them. The parts arrived earlier and they were delivered to our house. Someone came that day, July 8th, and fixed it but General Electric was really bad. They left huge boxes on my porch. The guy said he was gonna pick it up within five days but it took at least three weeks. It took my husband threatening them with a lawsuit to come and pick up the boxes. It was a terrible experience.

    Then, two weeks before our warranty went up, we had a problem with the garbage disposal. My husband called Home Shield and put in a claim and they sent H & K Plumbing right out. They had to order a new disposal but they got that within a week. Also, my husband said the person couldn't have been any nicer. Home Shield did great with this claim. I wasn’t even gonna call them about it. I was gonna see if we could take the $75 that we pay anyway and buy a new one and put it in ourselves. We decided to call at the last minute and we were very happy with that transaction.

    The AC was not working so we went online to American Home Shield and then I got a text shortly thereafter that said that the claim was received. The next day, I got another text from Next Generation that they received my claim and they let me know when they could come out. They checked my outside AC unit and the capacitor was out. They replaced the capacitor and got the fan going. But about a day later, the AC stopped working again. I called them back out there a week later and they came out and tested the motor and submitted the claim with American Home Shield for permission to replace the motor. They got the approval four days later and they came out and replaced the motor.

    The guy that came out was very friendly and he seemed to know what he was talking about. Both times were pretty quick in getting the task completed. He did what he was supposed to do. I would've liked him to have fixed the fan on the initial visit. But he advised that he had to submit that if this didn't work nd if the fan didn't end up working, then they would see how it would go from there. But he was good. I'm happy with what they have done. We're in Texas and it's hot as hell. So the repair helped out quite a bit.

    The compressor went out and it took two weeks to get it fixed, which was what the contractor, All Comfort Specialist, said it would take. I was trying to push it because we have a cancer patient. They did everything they could to expedite it. But after it was installed, it went out about a day later. I appreciate American Home Shield because not only did they contact me after hours, they gave me a phone number to follow up. I left a phone number and a message, and they called me immediately the next morning. I've been working with a guy named Daniel at that location, who was super-duper concerned. The comfort he gave us and the speed was remarkable. It hasn't even been a week. He gave me a call this morning and told me that he found a compressor for me in Tulsa that he was gonna go by today and put in. It hasn't even been a week. So, they're on top of it. It was excellent service.

    When I told them the emergency of the situation, American Home Shield themselves and All Comfort made me feel like it was one of their family members. American Home Shield responded. Our call dropped and they called back. AHS feels your pain when you're going through something. They showed their concern and they got the fastest company. They know they couldn't do anything as quick. A compressor is something you can't find overnight. They had done everything to me that would make a customer feel 100% satisfied. Everything was remarkable. I have no concern they could do better than what they've already done but they should keep on doing what they're doing.

    We used to have a different company which we had for a year. When it was just about a year, I contacted them and told them we hadn't received a renewal notice. They said they were not renewing us because I guess we had a couple of claims and they decided they didn't want us anymore. I waited a couple of years and I thought we really needed to have a home warranty because we have an older house. I got in touch with American Home Shield, and we've been very happy with them. We've had their contractors out a couple of times for things that the other company denied. American Home Shield fixed it and there were no problems.

    Recently, we had a problem with some of our pool equipment. American Home Shield sent out somebody to work on the pool pump and the guy discovered that it was some sort of an electrical problem so it got transferred over to the electric company. They came out and did a great job. They got it going right away. The guy was pleasant and on time. But this morning, I went outside and realized that it's doing the same thing again so I've got to get them back.

    I've had an American Home Shield contract for about 2 years now and at this point I'm very satisfied. More recently, I'm having fewer uncovered repairs and I feel that the vendors have gotten better over time. For example, I had a plumber who came in about 2 years ago right when I started my contract and they were very unprofessional and unfocused. They were fooling around on the job and didn't fix my problem. They just recommended that I replace my toilet. Later on, I had a separate vendor to address the same problem. He was very professional and efficient.

    I usually submit my claims online and that's relatively easy. I've taken advantage of the request reservice option before because there's a 60-day period where you can have the vendor come back out for free. But that is more difficult to access through the online portal. You have to manually either call them or call the vendor to request that. I wish that was a little bit more automatic. When I had some repairs that were not covered under the contract, American Home Shield said it would be evaluated and sent the letter, whereas it would have been a little bit better for them to communicate more directly and more promptly for repairs that are not covered under the contract. Also, if they provided more vendors that had weekend hours, it would be a lot easier for people who work. I find it very difficult to schedule appointments on weekdays because I work very long hours.

    The freezer was leaking and there was a clog. Then, the microwave was beyond repair. I called AHS to submit a claim and every time I tried reaching them, they'd give me the two-hour hold time every day. I just played around with it. I tried to call earlier, then I tried to call later. Eventually, Appliance Care came out, but the repairman wouldn't answer any of my questions. He told me that they weren't going to be repairing the microwave and that started me down the road on the phone with AHS, trying to get in touch with the supervisor. It was well over a month situation and they ended up approving the replacement.

    Other than that, the contractor who came out was cool and he was just doing his job. He was courteous, too. But I felt that if I call to make a complaint, AHS would say that somebody would be back within 24 or 48 hours. But I don't think the vendors are given that same strict period. Two weeks passed by and the vendor hadn't put in what they were going to do to rectify my situation. I tried following up with AHS and I talked to them several times. I specifically requested to talk with a supervisor but up to this point, I still have not. With any insurance, you just hope you don't need it and I didn't mind paying the premium. But at those times where I needed it, I felt like I was little let down and I ended up canceling my account based on that experience.

    Berry Electrical Contracting is really responsive and they have great resolution. If something’s not right, they immediately take care of it. They're very reliable and they have a lot of good systems. When you set up your appointment with them, they text you and they give you ETA and stuff. Outside of even what American Home Shield does. I love their work. I even hire them outside of things that fall under service contract. I've only ever had one bad experience with Home Shield and it was pretty easy. I called them and I asked them to please block the contractor off of my list. Then, whenever I have a contractor that I really like, I usually request the same contractors because I like the fact that they've been to my house before.
