A few years ago, I faced an issue with my ice maker, which an appliance repair company, All Brand, handled. Unfortunately, they installed the wrong ice maker, causing ice to scatter throughout the freezer. When they replaced it, the problem persisted. The tech said he wasn’t gonna fix it and was gonna let American Home Shield send somebody else. AHS was responsive, sending another company to address the issue, so someone new is coming today to take a look.
I've been impressed by how American Home Shield manages the claim process; they're efficient, even if I wasn't satisfied with All Brands itself. Despite switching to another home service company for a bit, I found the experience lacking. Hence, I've decided to return to American Home Shield.
Overall, while the situation with All Brand was frustrating, American Home Shield's commitment to resolving issues stands out, reaffirming my decision to return to their service.

I submitted a claim to American Home Shield for the refrigerator and the initial guy was a little flustered. He didn't seem to know what he was doing. I tried to explain to him my problem, but he was focusing on something else, so I just gave up. He was on the phone with somebody else videotaping and they were telling him what he should be doing. He didn't talk to us anymore. He went and sat in his truck for a while and then my husband said he told him that he was ordering parts and he'd be back when the parts came in. That was the last I saw of him.
I told AHS that we needed somebody who knew what they were doing because we didn't feel like we were being heard. So, they sent out somebody else to finish the repair. The guy determined that the parts that were ordered weren't needed. So, he took them with him. Everything is working and he even got the leak fixed. He found out there was a crack in the part, which was why it was leaking. So, he replaced that and we've been happy ever since.
I got another claim that AHS did nothing on. So, I'm not happy with them at all. They sent somebody out for my garage and that person told my husband that we needed new remote controls for it. Then, he told him to call the number on the back of the remote control, and he left and closed the claim. But my garage door still doesn't open. So, I called AHS. I had called the name on the back of the remote control, and they said they could sell us one and they could send somebody out. It would be almost $300 and I said I'm not paying $300. They said they didn’t understand why somebody came out and didn't have remote controls that they could sell us. I called American Home Shield a couple of times and they talked to the contractors and told them what they needed to do. They filled out the wrong form and they were gonna fix it. Still, there was nothing. The lady then said they could give me back $100 of our $125 back. But I still have nothing.

American Home Shield is a very hard company to deal with. I purchased the premiere plan. They will send someone out after paying a deductible to your home. The companies they send lack integrity and often misdiagnosed or underdiagnose the problem in which you have to request a second opinion. If the second opinion is the same they will make you pay another come out fee. I have and technicians come out on my refrigerator 4 or more times before they decided to replace it. They won't cover my AC unit that is leaking at the joints because the technician said it was under warranty with the manufacturer.
It is not under warranty and the manufacturer said even if it is they don't cover labor. If you are working it is hard to take time off for these multiple trips. I imagine all home insurance companies are hard to deal with but I would not recommend I can only speak to American Home Shield and it is been an awful experience. Try a different company.

My drains were frequently clogging, causing water to back up into my living room and garage, rendering my dishwasher and laundry unusable. The initial technician from SWAT Plumbing was disappointing, as he merely showed up with channel locks and claimed someone else would need to address the roof without taking any real action. This left me quite upset and dissatisfied.
However, when the second technician arrived, my experience turned for the better. He was knowledgeable and proactive, using a mixture of lye and other materials to clear the drains. He also provided valuable tips showing me treatments to maintain my system. This second visit significantly improved my situation, but he advised me that if my dishwasher had further issues, I might require a separate appliance specialist, indicating I may need to submit another claim with American Home Shield.
As of now, everything seems to be functioning well, although I haven't tried the dishwasher. My overall experience with American Home Shield ended up being satisfactory because of the second technician. I'd give the service a rating of 4 out of 5 simply due to the initial inconvenience of needing a second visit for a job well done.

We encountered a major drain leak and a minor faucet leak, and Russell Plumbing Company, coordinated by American Home Shield, promptly responded. They assessed the issue on their initial visit, fixed one leak, and then scheduled another visit since the city needed to turn off the water for the main line repairs.
Their timely service was greatly appreciated. Generally, I handle my communication with American Home Shield online, which I find very user-friendly and responsive. My overall impression of American Home Shield would earn them about 4 stars, mainly because although they efficiently completed the repairs, I had to personally contact the contractors to get detailed documentation of the work done, which should have been provided through the app or my account.
Regarding the pricing, it deserves a higher rating. Navigating their online services, making requests, and getting responses is seamless and intuitive.

I had an issue where my clothes were taking too long to dry, and despite having recently checked and cleared the venting system, the dryer was still struggling. When American Home Shield sent a technician from Speedy Air & Heat, I noticed he was more focused on the heating aspect rather than doing a comprehensive inspection for clogs or malfunctions. He mentioned that checking the heat output was standard, but it didn't solve the issue. Unlike the lint cleaning company that had shown a proactive approach, this technician seemed hurried and stated that useful diagnostics like checking the clog sensor weren’t part of his job, which was frustrating. Despite having the platinum plan with American Home Shield, which I thought covered extensive maintenance, the experience left me feeling like the service lacked thoroughness.
The technicians aren't always consistent in their dedication to solutions. While considering a cancellation of my plan, I'm hesitant because of the unintended risk, like needing significant repairs without warranty coverage.

The process of submitting my claim was seamless; I utilized both their online platform and called customer service for support. Communication with the customer service representative was fine, and the technician dispatched to my home was both professional and amiable, resolving the issue swiftly.
While the repair on my refrigerator went smoothly and the appliance has been performing without a hitch, I encountered a minor inconvenience. I was informed I needed to request the invoice from American Home Shield directly, but haven't yet received a response. Overall, while the experience generally met my expectations, this small detail could definitely have been handled better if there was a quicker response regarding the invoice request.

We noticed our air conditioning system wasn't cooling properly. I filed a claim, and American Home Shield coordinated with Shepherd's Heating and Air for the HVAC service. I’ve been a loyal customer of another home warranty company for 18 years, and this shift to American Home Shield was my first.
The main issue was communication. Typically, with my previous company, I would receive a call or text confirming service times. However, with Shepherd's, I only received a text stating they were on their way while I was at work, causing panic as nobody was home. Luckily, one of my daughters rushed home to accommodate them. It took about two weeks for the necessary parts to arrive, a duration that had me somewhat concerned.
Despite this, the service was excellent; once the parts were handled, we found our home comfortably cooled to 66 degrees. Unfortunately, the lack of proactive communication marred the experience. On the day of the parts' expected arrival, I received another vague notice. Attempts to reach them by phone initially went unanswered, but persistence finally allowed me to confirm their visit.
From my husband's research, communication issues seem to be a common complaint with this service provider. While the repair was fine, relying on them felt uneasy due to unpredictable scheduling and lack of transparency. This kind of operation just doesn’t consider that most of us work and can’t wait all day for a service technician.
As someone in real estate, I deal with scheduling and understand the importance. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend Shepherd's due to these concerns. The end results were satisfactory with a working AC, but I would urge improvements in how they relay timing information, to say the least. American Home Shield did not coordinate with them. I made the call the first time that I wasn't told about the schedule and told American Home Shield the situation. They told me they were gonna put in the notes that it was an issue, and I thought it was gonna be resolved. Had I not called the contractor, I don't know what would have happened.

My thermostat wouldn't turn on, and the AC unit stopped communicating with it. After putting in a claim, Brown Air Conditioning sent a technician. Though it took about 5 to 6 days for them to arrive, the technician was prompt and efficient, immediately assessing the issue and identifying that the unit needed freon. He managed to address the problem, and everything has been working cool since then.
However, there's room for improvement, particularly in the response time from placing a service request to when a technician visits. As a realtor, I often hear others' experiences with various home warranties, and I've noticed that other providers like First American are more focused on long-term system care rather than just repairs. This has resulted in me giving American Home Shield a 3 out of 5 rating, considering they primarily seem to address issues with temporary fixes.

American Home Shield sent United Services Appliances Repair to my house multiple times for the same issue with my dryer. It’s been about six visits now, and my dryer still isn’t working. Each visit involved changing parts like the cord and timer, but nothing seems to solve the problem. I was really hoping American Home Shield would replace the dryer by now, but that's yet to happen.
The personnel from United Services has indicated that appliance replacement under my warranty isn't something usually encountered. I’ll likely reach out to American Home Shield again because I'm at a loss for what to do, and they need to figure this out. It’s concerning since I'm paying monthly for the warranty. I've been with American Home Shield for several years, and originally, their service was top-tier. In recent times, though, something seems to have changed for the worse.
I reached out to American Home Shield's customer service, which I’d rate fairly well, around a 4 out of 5, because usually, the representatives are nice. However, it's disappointing because it shouldn’t take so many attempts to fix a single appliance. The online service is decent, especially on my phone, but could be more responsive. I'd rate it a 3 for navigation.

I had several challenges with American Home Shield concerning my air conditioning system. Initially, in late January, my thermostat wouldn't reach the set temperature of 72 degrees and stubbornly stayed at 78. I contacted them to make a service request, but it took unusually long to receive a response. There was a lot of roundabouts as the assigned contractors never followed through. Despite trying to find a repair technician on my own for a couple of weeks, it led nowhere. This carried on until mid-February without resolution.
Eventually, in March, I accepted a tune-up offer, and Advanced Heating and Cooling discovered the issue with my AC unit. Their technician suggested a complete unit replacement, but the cost was staggering—up to $5700—while American Home Shield offered to cover only a fraction ($1200). There were many questions raised about this, especially since earlier quotes were different. The situation delayed further when it turned out that American Home Shield didn’t order the required part, causing a week and a half delay. Advanced Heating ordered and installed the part eventually, and my AC was restored to working order two weeks ago.
Throughout this saga, there seemed to be a disconnect between American Home Shield and Advanced Heating. I’ve only been a customer for a short time, and this was quite disheartening. Earlier in November 2024, similar issues had supposedly been resolved, but come January, the same problems emerged—except they clearly weren't fixed, as the freon had leaked out again.
While my AC is currently working, the path to this resolution has been less than satisfactory.

When I had control board issues with my HVAC system, Simtech HVAC responded promptly. Brian, the technician, assessed the situation and explained what was wrong. He ordered the necessary part the same day and managed to schedule a convenient time for its installation. Post-repair, everything has been functioning perfectly.
I've been with American Home Shield for around a decade, ever since my house was a few years old. It’s definitely been worth having them. The technicians, who've worked on my older appliances, are always professional and informative. Even when parts aren’t readily available, they communicate efficiently, providing timely updates via text and email.
American Home Shield and their vendors always maintain professionalism. The technicians who’ve attended to my house take care to wear shoe covers and introduce themselves in proper attire. The company that was assigned by American Home Shield does not do installations, even though this is a remove-and-replace job for a down draft exhaust fan. It seems like every time American Home Shield would assign a contractor, they would tell them it's a range-over-hood exhaust fan which is not the case. We did that four times until I found somebody that would install it. It had been an issue since COVID. The part was on backorder, and we couldn't get it way back then. Then American Home Shield paid for us to get the part. They gave us a Lowe’s card. We went out and purchased the component, but we couldn't get it installed. Lowe's supposedly had someone that was going to come out and set it up but that didn't happen either. It was a hassle trying to get that down draft exhaust fan installed.
This is the first claim that I've had a problem with American Home Shield. It rubbed me a little wrong, having the same thing over and over again through American Home Shield, supposedly talking to supervisors and the escalations team. Other than this, all the other experiences I've had with them has been pretty positive.

Our water heater was not turning on. I submitted a claim with American Home Shield and their representative was prompt. My phone claim process went well, although I eventually resolved the issue myself before their contractor arrived. When the contractor did come, we just had a brief discussion about preventive measures, so there wasn't much action required from them. Overall, American Home Shield is a solid service so far, though the price of the warranty could be a bit lower.

I had a plumbing issue with my garbage disposal. I made a claim with American Home Shield and although I wasn’t home for the repair, my wife mentioned that the technician they sent out was pleasant, which added a layer of comfort knowing my home was in good hands. When I had some trouble with my plumbing, Brick Street Plumbing was the company American Home Shield assigned to come out and help. The technician needed to adjust the water flow, and once he did, everything was working well.
The technician was great, and I appreciated the quality service. As for the home warranty though, since I haven't used it in a while, I was surprised to see that the fee had gone up from 75 to 100. That's always concerning when it's more than it was and I don’t recall receiving any advance notice about this increase, but that could just be my oversight.
One of my long-standing concerns is the rigidity in changing contractors. I've had previous instances where it seemed like the contractor didn't know what they were doing and I was told that unless they don't fix whatever it is, I don't have the option to change the contractor. Sometimes that's a little disconcerting. American Home Shield only works with certain contractors, but sometimes I see a bad review online and I'd appreciate the flexibility to change contractors.
Overall, I'd rate the warranty a four out of five. Despite some hiccups, they have been responsive and helpful with my issues.

I've always done service requests over the phone, and when I needed assistance with my range, I reached out to American Home Shield. They sent a technician from James Appliances to diagnose the problem and the information was sent back to the home warranty company, which then determined the next steps for me, instructing me on what to do. It was quite straightforward, and the whole issue was resolved a few weeks ago.
The range had to be replaced, and American Home Shield provided me with options. If someone has a newer model, there should be plenty of options, but if they have something older and it's not made any more, then it can be a gift card kind of situation. However, they have to submit the receipt and verify that they purchased what they're supposed to get, and a good bit goes into that. Since the model I had was no longer available, we did a home warranty replacement. I selected a model that was similar to what I had, and they worked directly with James Appliances to ensure everything was taken care of.
Overall, I would rate my experience a solid 4. Their customer service and the quality of service during this instance were commendable. I also found their pricing to be quite reasonable and would give that aspect a 5.

Two weeks ago, I contacted American Home Shield and submitted an online claim for my AC. The experience seemed to be okay, but the contractor that they paired me with was 60 miles away and they never reached out. All I got was an automated system and the interaction was impersonal, just a text with an inconvenient appointment. Attempts to reschedule were frustrating; I ended up speaking with call centers that were out of the country.
So, I had to call American Home Shield and cancel that claim. Then I had to redo it with somebody on there and they paired me with another contractor. This contractor showed up but failed to diagnose my air conditioner problem effectively because he lacked the necessary equipment to find the issue, merely topping it off with Freon without a proper solution. He was from who was from 40 miles away so it was not like he could just turn around and go to the shop. This left me no choice but to find someone else to replace it, incurring more out-of-pocket expenses.
Another instance involved my dryer, which had a squeaky noise. I submitted a service request online only for American Home Shield to assign someone who couldn't accommodate my schedule. The rigid adherence to their guidelines prevented reassignment to another technician, forcing me to compromise in the hope they'd show on Wednesday.
Furthermore, American Home Shield's warranty terms are limited and misleading. I explored options and even my plan's $150,000 air conditioning limit was not truly applicable as they wouldn't replace necessary outdated system parts. Their solution was inadequate, and the contractors seemed unprepared or far from where I reside, further compounding frustrations. Complicating matters, I can't even get a cash payout option to reimburse expenses for prompt repairs via local professionals because they require a diagnosis from their own contractors. This experience has led me to reconsider American Home Shield's value versus self-managing savings for unforeseen home repairs. I sincerely hope American Home Shield evaluates their local contractor networks better to service rural areas more reliably. Until then, I’ll look elsewhere when my contract expires in October.

I faced a bathroom leak at my home and decided to make a claim with American Home Shield, where they connected me with Ostarly Plumbing. I have to say, the plumbers from Ostarly were great—they identified the leak, mitigated it, and fixed everything promptly. I love them. They received the claim on the weekend, probably Saturday or Sunday, and completed their work by Monday, which was impressively fast.
While I'm really pleased with the services Ostarly provided, my experience with American Home Shield itself has been less than stellar. I've been a customer for around three years, and I honestly think they need to do better. When they say something, they need to do it. My washer has been down for six months. First, they told me that it was a pre-existing condition, then they found out that it wasn't and now, I'm still waiting on the part.
Given this, I'd say my overall experience with American Home Shield is below average.

American Home Shield had All South Air Systems come out because my air conditioner wasn't working properly. The technician identified and replaced a faulty capacitor that was preventing the compressor from activating, and everything has been working properly since.
Having had American Home Shield on and off for about three years, I can say that my experience this time was a lot smoother, unlike a previous encounter in 2022 that left me dissatisfied.

I had to call American Home Shield due to a leak in my toilet. The issue required NC Plumbing Pros to come over and lift the toilet to replace the faulty ring. The appointment was made over the weekend, and they managed to schedule a visit for the subsequent Thursday, which felt impressively timely to me.
Throughout the process, everything went smoothly, and I haven’t had any further issues since then. I set up my service request online, and found it really convenient and straightforward, which added to the positive experience.

American Home Shield sent a technician named Dimitri, who was incredibly thorough and professional. Our initial concern was a suspected leak from our washer. Dimitri identified that the real issue was a blockage in the drain, not the washer itself, and even took a video for me to show our plumber.
Not only was he diligent in his work, but he was also respectful in our home, making sure to take off his shoes and being kind to our dogs. We’d actually encountered Dimitri before when he came to fix our dishwasher through a different service. It turns out my mom, based near Firestone, had also recommended him. It's quite a small world when you find service that good twice!
I give American Home Shield a top rating because the prior service we used charged more, didn’t fix the actual problem, and wasn’t nearly as thorough. AHS impressed us with how cost-effective and reliable their service is. Given our positive experience, I'm eager to share this and ensure Dimitri gets due recognition.

My dishwasher wasn't draining and stopped mid-cycle, prompting a claim. The technician from M-Tech Services Inc. arrived late, blaring music, and didn't engage much while inspecting my dishwasher. He seemed uninterested in providing explanations, took some pictures, and concluded it was a motherboard issue, claimed to be outside normal wear and tear. I disagreed, especially since I inherited the appliances with the house, making me question their definition of wear and tear.
The initial service for my refrigerator was much better, with the technician providing detailed feedback and maintaining communication. However, the dishwasher incident soured my perception. When I reached out to customer service about resolving it, I was informed of additional fees if another visit revealed the same issue, making me halt further claims. Each year for the past three, I've faced continuous problems requiring additional Freon, which felt unsustainable. The service technician identified bad coils as the issue, which led to a hefty bill of over $8,000, with me personally covering more than $2,000 of it. Upon contacting American Home Shield over the phone to report the issue, I found the customer service experience to be quite positive. The representative I spoke with was helpful, and the interaction was smooth. However, despite the positive service experience, I feel the overall cost is burdensome. In addition to a monthly payment of nearly $78, I found the $125 technician service fee rather high, especially considering these recurrent issues.
I have the Gold Plan, and I've been disappointed because it doesn’t cover Freon, prompting me to pay hundreds out-of-pocket. It seems necessary to upgrade to a Platinum Plan for such coverage, which is a major decision for me given increasing tariffs that could affect these costs further. If discussing this with a friend, I'd consider recommending American Home Shield with a caveat that one might need their top-tier plan to avoid similar expenses.

A&J Enterprises, American Home Shield's service provider, was outstanding. They came out and did their job quickly and efficiently. However, my ongoing struggles with American Home Shield have been a different story. I've been a customer for five years, consistently paying every month for what turned out to be a broken system. Only recently did American Home Shield take action and finally resolved the issue, replacing the unit after a lengthy wait. The entire ordeal took over two years of reporting it was broken, and even when it happened, the decision was delayed further by two and a half weeks due to internal business decisions.
Financially, things have been frustrating. They raised my monthly bill from $60 to $120, which was concerning, especially after faithfully paying for five years. Conversely, since they ultimately replaced the unit, I’m somewhat satisfied it was finally addressed. But if my monthly payments keep going up, I might have to rethink my relationship with them. They could improve significantly by taking quicker action on such customer concerns instead of resorting to short-term fixes.

It wasn’t until recently that I found myself needing to deal with American Home Shield because of a significant issue with the air conditioning unit at my daughter’s home. Initially, it seemed like the issue was resolved when the first technician suggested it just needed more refrigerant, which we paid $600 to have done. However, only six weeks later, it was evident there was a persistent leak, indicating the initial diagnosis was incorrect. Dealing with the second company was frustrating, as they not only acknowledged the leak but also tried to upsell us on a whole new system, which felt deceitful. This left us having spent a large amount of money without solving the real problem and souring our experience considerably.
Communicating with American Home Shield was incredibly challenging. My interactions with one particular service representative were almost maddening. Despite clear evidence of a persistent leak, she was insistent that there was nothing to be done but refill the refrigerant again. This was frustrating as it had already proven ineffective. However, after a lot of effort and numerous phone calls, I eventually spoke with a gentleman named John who resolved to send out a third contractor at no additional charge. This contractor, Pride, was exceptional—they confirmed the leak and were very thorough in their explanation about why American Home Shield couldn’t cover the repair given the installation may have been faulty, but thanked me for a satisfactory experience in terms of the technician's professional insight.
While the physical issue with the air conditioning unit remains addressed in part to John's diligence and the technician from Pride, my experience with American Home Shield's customer service and the deceptive practices by the previous contractors left a lot to be desired. Despite everything, American Home Shield, in my past experience with other properties, has generally been effective and positive; thus, it returns standing strong as a service I'd recommend, keeping in perspective this particular instance.

American Home Shield is nothing but a legalized scam wrapped in pretty marketing. I signed up expecting coverage for my home systems — you know, what they promise — and within weeks, my HVAC system broke down. Guess what? They refused to cover it. Their excuse? “Pre-existing condition.” Are you kidding me? The unit was working perfectly fine when I signed up, but they pulled out every excuse in the book to deny the claim. Their so-called technician barely looked at it before delivering a canned response designed to protect AHS, not the customer.
This company is built on deception, fine print, and delay tactics. They’ll take your money every month and then do everything possible to get out of paying when something actually goes wrong. It's not a warranty — it’s a membership to getting screwed over when you need help the most. AHS is actively ripping off homeowners by making them think they’re protected. You’re better off burning your money than trusting this company. Their business model is to deny, deflect, and drain your patience until you give up. ⚠️ DO NOT fall for their fake peace of mind. A significant plus was that they allowed me to choose from a range of options they suggested, and I even had the choice to upgrade if I wanted to spend a bit more.
I've been connected with American Home Shield ever since they acquired my previous provider, Landmark and the transition was fairly smooth. Everything was handled online—I found the interface straightforward. Their website made the process of setting up service requests quite effortless.
In terms of cost, I'd give it a 2 out of 5. I find their pricing a bit on the high side. However, the ease of use in handling requests through their online platform has been a pleasant experience.

It wasn’t until recently that I gave American Home Shield a chance. My air conditioner's compressor broke down, causing a lot of noise inside my house. The technician from AC Plus promptly arrived with a new compressor in hand and completed the repair efficiently, within 30 minutes. I appreciated that he took the time to explain the issue; the noise traveling up caused by the broken compressor made a lot more sense after his explanation. He ensured everything was running properly by waiting for the AC to restart, eliminating the noise issue.
The technician was polite and professional, attentively answering my questions and addressing every concern I had.
However, dealing with American Home Shield's automated system left room for improvement. The options listed for reporting the problem were not clear, making it difficult to understand the steps needed without guidance. An explanation of the choices would enhance customer interaction over the phone.
Overall, despite the challenging phone system, my repair experience was smooth, and I'd recommend their service.

This recurring problem could be better managed if the platform allowed for a detailed explanation of issues rather than repeatedly creating new service requests.

A technician arrived within three days and on the first visit, he successfully repaired the oven, but unfortunately, he couldn't fix the refrigerator immediately. However, a replacement has been arranged and is scheduled for this week.

I've been with American Home Shield for more than 20 years ‘cause they're okay. I recently had a claim involving my air conditioning unit. The team from American Air Conditioning came out to replace the compressor in the unit, which took about three days from my initial request. They also came back to refill the unit with Freon. I wasn't here when they came, but they supposedly came back and did it. It seemed to be working okay, but despite their attempt to fix the unit, it malfunctioned again shortly after. They have yet to come back out to address the continuing issue and I am currently in contact with American Home Shield. The repair delay has been frustrating, and it appears the initial job was not sufficient to resolve the problem. I'm not particularly pleased with how this situation has been handled, especially considering my long tenure as a customer. Considering these issues, I would rate my overall experience as a 3.

My experience with AHS wasn't entirely smooth. When I submitted a claim for my AC, I was told via text that someone would reach out soon for scheduling. Despite this, there was a delay, and the technician didn't come until the following Tuesday, a noticeable gap from when the ticket was submitted.
The technician's visit was satisfactory; he was both friendly and professional. But reflecting on American Home Shield's services as a whole, communication is where they need to improve. Accessibility to customer service is quite lacking; when I previously had issues with my refrigerator, it took multiple consultations and part replacements to address the problem. Yet, even recently, a technician’s quick troubleshooting seemed a bit frail.
Moreover, the pricing has become a concern. The monthly rate for the service recently increased by $10, which was an unwelcome surprise. It would be beneficial if they maintained consistent pricing.

I've been an American Home Shield customer for a total seven years or more. It was 2020 when I got the latest policy, and before that, I was in a rental home. Prior to that, I was in a home I owned and I had American Home Shield as well. Initially, I did my research and when I first signed up with them, they were among the top three home warranty companies. Now, they're not. They've got a lot of complaints and I'm done with them.
I had a simple washing machine repair request and the technician that came from A1 Appliance, which is their vendor, seemed fine. He fixed the problem, but in doing so, he created another problem. So, I called American Home Shield and said, "You need to send this guy back out here to fix the problem he created." They wanted me to pay another $100 to open a new case and I said, "No. I'm not gonna do that. He's your guy. He caused the problem. You should send him out here and you should eat it." The technician evidently told American Home Shield he did not want to come back here to fix the problem he created, because he wasn't gonna get paid. That was the second problem that I had, which has caused me to drop the American Home Shield warranty.
I'm in Phoenix, Arizona and last summer, one of my air conditioners went out in the main house and they could not find the right air conditioner that they wanted to replace my broken one with. They didn't even find one. It was eight days later, and I was sitting in a 108-degree temperature. Instead waiting longer, I went out and bought my own air conditioner for less money. So, I just concluded that it's a rip-off. It's a real scam.

When my central AC went out, American Home Shield assigned United Air for the repairs. I've had American Home Shield for about 20 years and at one time, it was good to have. One of my primary concerns with them is their policy of collecting the service fee upfront. On a couple of occasions, they had to return to complete some work, leading to multiple service fee charges. They eventually refunded the extra fees, which provided me some relief but was an inconvenience.
Additionally, I faced issues with the repair services for my washer. The repair technicians struggled with fixing the machine, resulting in multiple visits. Despite these setbacks, my appliances, including the washer and AC, are now functioning correctly.
Overall, while I've experienced some hurdles, American Home Shield has been a valuable service over the years. However, the issues with service fees and sometimes inadequate repairs have been notable challenges.

I called American Home Shield one evening about a furnace issue and the tech McCormick Mechanical contacted me the next morning. He was here at 8:15 that morning and that was impressive because, typically, I end up waiting much longer with other experiences. Initially, he found nothing significantly wrong, although I was concerned about the blower fan's prolonged operation without igniting. When he left, the furnace seemed to ignite properly, and after turning it off and on again, it finally seemed to work as intended.
I've been with American Home Shield for about 10 years, but I'm not thrilled to see their B rating because it indicates a slow complaint resolution process. Compared to other similar companies, their rating isn't as reassuring. Also, while my immediate experience this time was satisfactory, I’ve found the overall customer service challenging. It’s nearly impossible to get a hold of a real person, which might contribute to their rating.

I decided to try American Home Shield based on recommendations, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. I had an issue with my washing machine where water started leaking unexpectedly. They sent a technician from AT Electric who was unprofessional and caused additional damage. He even used a part from my pantry without asking, which was unacceptable because my family highly values our Electrolux products. This was the first time I faced such poor service, and communication from the company has been weak. They repeatedly promised a call from a field supervisor but never followed through. The whole situation has been so frustrating that I don't plan to renew my service, and I'll be sure to inform my friends about this negative experience.

American Home Shield sent a contractor, Anders Air Conditioning, to service my units when I faced an HVAC issue. Both my outside and upstairs units required attention and they ended up replacing both of them. Initially, the contractor replaced the fan and motor in one unit, assuming it to be the main problem. However, upon further inspection, it was clear that my 19-year-old unit needed a total replacement. Although the standard warranty did not cover this replacement under normal wear and tear, I received an excellent deal—about half the cost compared to typical rates. Both American Home Shield and Anders Air Conditioning provided responsive and commendable service, leaving me very satisfied with this experience.
I have been a customer of American Home Shield for several years. After a brief period of switching to another company due to unsatisfactory experiences, I returned to American Home Shield. In total, I've been with them around seven to nine years. The customer service has always been top-notch, whether contacting them via phone or online. While the annual premiums have increased, similar to any insurance policy, I still find the pricing reasonable for the peace of mind that it provides.

My experience with American Home Shield didn't live up to my expectations. My refrigerator stopped cooling properly and began freezing up, so I had to contact them by phone. Although they responded within 24 hours, the overall process has been drawn out to nearly 3.5 months, with my refrigerator still unresolved.
Initially, Sears sent someone out five times, of which three times they actually had parts. The frustration built when no one showed up for my last scheduled appointment, which was then rescheduled a month later. Eventually, I grew weary and decided to cancel the appointment altogether. I'm gonna buy my own refrigerator and cancel American Home Shield.

Unfortunately, my experience with American Home Shield hasn't been great, especially with the customer service and local contractors they choose to partner with. When my dishwasher broke down, Polished Appliance was assigned the task, and things did not go smoothly at all. They came out multiple times over several months, attempting to address the issue with various parts, but nothing worked. At one point, I even had to call an electrician, who confirmed it was not an electrical problem.
Repeatedly dealing with misdiagnoses and ineffective repairs, I reached out to American Home Shield, hoping for a resolution. Sadly, they insisted on sending the same company back out even though I clearly requested a different solution. Eventually, they claimed pest damage was the issue without prior mention, leading to a frustrating dead-end with no effective support from American Home Shield. It took five months of stress, appointments, and wasted time, underlining the disconnect between guarantees made and service delivered.
While I've had a couple of acceptable experiences with other repairs, it seems contingent on the quality of the local service provider. Unfortunately, the communication with American Home Shield often felt distant and unhelpful, compounded by language barriers. As a single mom balancing work as a full-time nurse, the unexpected financial and logistical headache of handling all of this on my behalf was distressing.
Despite receiving my service fee back, the assurance you expect from a home warranty wasn’t there when I most needed it. I had to purchase and install my own new dishwasher as American Home Shield didn’t step up to fulfill their role. This debacle makes it hard to recommend them, and if friends asked for my advice, I would highlight the dependency on the quality of local contractors as crucial to consider.

I do apologize AHS did not meet your expectations. I see the first work order was placed January 26, 2025, and a repair was completed. AHS did not hear from you again until March 21, 2025, so the repair must have worked initially. More repairs were done. AHS did not hear from you again until April 28, 2025. Again, the repair must have worked initially. On April 28, 2025 and on April 29, 2025, two different vendors found a new diagnosis, causing the unit not to work. As you mentioned, that diagnosis was pest damage, and that is not covered by American Home Shield. It is likely the repairs done by American Home Shield were good repairs, but were undermined by the pests, that the techs later became aware of. I am so sorry that happened.

A technician from Comfort First Heating, a person I'd worked with previously, came by for an annual AC service check. This gentleman consistently impresses with his professionalism and knowledge. His ability to complete the task efficiently meant I hardly realized he was there.
To improve our air conditioning system's efficiency, we did purchase an additional part. Everything was addressed in that same visit, which was crucial for us.
My experience navigating their online portal was average—I'd rate it about a 3 out of 5 for ease of use.
In terms of pricing for the part, I found it a bit expensive but can't claim expertise in this area. Nonetheless, my overall experience with this service visit was positive.

I had Advanced Appliance Services come out for a routine seasonal inspection of my air conditioning. During their visit, they detected a part underperforming, and recommended it be changed, which they promptly did during the same visit.
American Home Shield covered the most urgent of their identified recommendations. The setup process was smooth—primarily initiated from reminder emails—and I did have positive experiences setting up appointments both online and through phone calls.
In the past, there was a moment of frustration when a claim for the refrigerator was denied, and I wasn't promptly informed. However, the most recent experience, from setup to service, was seamless. Notably, I had no issues with their website and set everything up comfortably there.
Overall, I'd rate my latest interaction a five-star experience, though when considering the cooler moments in the past, it might hover closer to four. As for their pricing, the co-payments I've encountered are quite reasonable. Given all this, I remain happy with my choice of American Home Shield.

The appliance technician from Paul's Appliances was dispatched for a dishwasher issue, identified the problem, ordered a necessary part, and completed the repair once it arrived. Overall, the customer service was excellent.
However, I did have a hiccup with Paul's Appliances on a previous dishwasher problem about a year and a half ago. They sent the same technician multiple times, but he couldn't resolve the issue. After three unsuccessful attempts, I decided to replace the dishwasher myself. Despite that experience, my overall satisfaction with American Home Shield remains high in the 5 years that I've had them, as they are generally reliable in addressing most issues.

When a problem arose with my refrigerator and dishwasher, American Home Shield sent an Alliance Repair person who misdiagnosed both cases. For instance, he incorrectly assessed the refrigerator issue and ordered parts unnecessarily. It turns out the door just needed adjusting, which I fixed myself. Similarly, the supposed dishwasher malfunction was merely a power connection problem, which he quickly labeled as notably severe, despite spending hardly any time investigating.
Following this, American Home Shield claimed these were pre-existing issues without appropriately proving their stance. The situation was frustrating, especially after paying a service fee of $100 alongside the monthly charge of $30, expecting reliable support. Such an experience made me reconsider my decision to continue with them, as I felt unsupported despite paying for their service.
Overall, my satisfaction with their service is unfortunately at a low point, given these circumstances.

I was dealing with some plumbing issues at home and called American Home Shield for help. Initially, my bathroom's toilet would run sporadically throughout the day and the shower wasn’t draining properly. I contacted American Home Shield and they sent out a plumber from Sundance Services relatively quickly, which was appreciated.
However, the visit turned out to be frustrating. The first plumber started work before I was home and attempted to snake the toilet. To my surprise, the snake came out on my roof through the air vent pipe. When I pointed this out, the plumber realized he wasn't really addressing the toilet issue. He informed me that he couldn't look into the plumbing beyond the specifics listed on the initial ticket with American Home Shield. So, I ended up having to create a new ticket for them to properly assess the whole system.
Another plumber came out later and went under the house, which was part of the request I made in the new ticket. He seemed more thorough and used different methods to identify that a plug caused the shower to pull water from the toilet, leading to running water in the system. Although he fixed the blockage, the toilet issue returned within hours. I called them again, hoping to avoid another $125 service charge since the problem remained unfixed from the first visit. Unfortunately, due to policy technicalities, they insisted I pay because it was a "new ticket," despite it being the same ongoing issue.
Ultimately, I ended up fixing the issue myself with a bit of a flap adjustment. This whole experience left me very dissatisfied with American Home Shield’s handling of the situation. Their policy of needing checks for specific boxes on service requests doesn't account for the complexities of interconnected systems like plumbing. It’s not practical for most customers, like me, who aren’t plumbing-savvy to pinpoint issues with that precision.
The service technician was pleasant to speak with and did what they could, but overall, the process felt inefficient and frustrating. Even though their plan seems attractive and inexpensive initially, their handling of complex problems, particularly ones involving plumbing, was more hassle than I expected. While I’ve had good experiences with appliance repairs before, this plumbing situation was too stressful.
After going through this ordeal, I would rate my experience with American Home Shield poorly when it comes to dealing with plumbing issues, giving them just a 1 star. Their customer service was polite, which I'd rate a 3, but while the financial aspect of the plan seems fair, it doesn’t quite ease the frustration of ineffective service. Due to the problems encountered in resolving my issue, if I had the chance, I would have opted to switch services sooner.

I called Amtec, the company American Home Shield contracted, for a malfunctioning refrigerator. Everything inside had melted, so I unplugged it to prevent mold, especially with the humidity. Unfortunately, they could only send someone on a Friday.
When the technician arrived, he plugged the fridge back in and assumed it was working, saying it would take time to cool. By Monday, it was evident it wasn’t fixed. I was disheartened needing to wait another week due to their lack of immediate slots, being told that the earliest appointment was the following Thursday or Friday.
The technician's return visit revealed it was a timer issue that was resolved then, but I was upset about the unresolved first visit and the delay. Adding to my frustration, American Home Shield was informed the reappointment was at my request, which was incorrect as the initial repair failed.
Despite this hiccup, I’ve generally had a positive experience with American Home Shield over the almost two years I've used them, even recommending them to neighbors with older homes where problems arise more frequently. While this encounter was disappointing, I've experienced good service overall and appreciate American Home Shield’s provision of their services.
Furthermore, navigating their online services for my needs can be smooth, and the costs seem reasonable for the value provided. The overall service merits a high rating.

This is my second year with American Home Shield. I work in real estate and I had another home warranty company for about four years, but I wasn't pleased with their service. I did some research and changed home warranty companies. I have an older house, so it was important that I had a home warranty on it. I do an air conditioner tune-up every year, and recently, I scheduled a preseason check with south placer heating and air through American Home Shield. The appointment process was smooth; they accommodated my preferred date, and their technician was extremely professional.
The technician called when he was 13 minutes away and even texted upon arrival. I was at work and my husband was home. The technician spent about 30-40 minutes on the service and was very polite. I felt comfortable in the house with him, and he was pleasant. I was happy with the tech and the home warranty company. They were really good, and so far, everything functions as it should post-tune-up.
American Home Shield has consistently sent competent technicians, and their claims process has been hassle-free for me. Overall, my experience with them has been excellent, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services.

He discovered it was a Freon problem and effectively remedied the situation by topping it up. Since then, the system has been functioning efficiently, and I'm grateful for the outcome.

American Home Shield contacted me the next day after I lodged my request, which demonstrated prompt service within their 48-hour response window. While I haven’t always had smooth experiences with them in the past and I haven't used them in a while, this interaction has been satisfactory. When I bought my home, I needed to have a year of insurance and ended up with American Home Shield. My experience with them has been quite positive. Whenever I've used their services, they've been very prompt and accommodating. The technicians were professional; they answered all my questions, arrived on time, and addressed the issues expertly.
I usually file claims online, which I find straightforward. I appreciate the professionalism of the contractors, as they consistently did an excellent job with the repairs.
However, while the service aspect is satisfactory, I do have some concerns about the coverage. For example, they don't cover issues like condensation in windows, which I find limiting. Although the service is good, the coverage could be expanded to include more common home issues.
Overall, I would give them a 4 out of 5, indicating I'm generally happy with my experience and would recommend them, but I do see room for improvement in their coverage options.

I encountered an issue with my plumbing, specifically with one faucet that was not delivering hot water. Unsure of whether the problem lay with the water heater or the faucet itself, I submitted a claim with American Home Shield. The experience was smooth, with the claim process proving to be both easy and efficient. Impressively, a technician from Plumbing SDL arrived the very next day.
The technician was prompt, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. They took the time to explain what was going on clearly and ensured I understood everything before fixing the problem. We were able to set it to hotter water. However, I have a child and adjusted the faucet to provide warmer water but not too hot, being considerate of my need for safety. They showed me exactly what was happening. The service was truly excellent, making the entire process seamless.
Presently, everything is working perfectly well, and I am thoroughly satisfied with the resolution. There isn't anything at this moment I think American Home Shield should improve on—it was an all-around great experience. If I were to rate their service, it would definitely be the best it can be. Indoor Quality Heating came an hour after I initially called American Home Shield and they resolved the issue wherein the fan on my AC unit wasn't working properly. I experienced really good customer service.
I've been with American Home Shield for about 1.5 to 2 years now, and while I would definitely refer them to family and friends, there have been some hiccups. Initially, with an unrelated issue, there was a mix-up when they assigned a technician with the wrong expertise due to a language barrier with their representatives. I was having electrical problems and then they sent a plumber or someone else that was left field. Thankfully, this was corrected quickly.
Despite this small setback, I'm still very satisfied with their service. When it comes to pricing, I believe it’s quite reasonable. I normally handle my requests by calling them directly rather than using their online service. Overall, American Home Shield has served me well.

I had an issue with my air conditioning unit, and when Brown Air Conditioning, the contracted service provider, came out, the technician diagnosed the problem and listed necessary repairs amounting to approximately $4,000. Seeking a second opinion independently, I found that the diagnosis and costs aligned with Brown's.
When I inquired about the coverage from American Home Shield, I was surprised to learn they would only cover $500 of the $4,000 repair cost. This left me feeling that the value of their coverage, given the premiums, was questionable. Paying nearly $100 a month for the warranty seems unreasonable if the payout is so minimal on significant repairs. It's almost worth just getting the warranty through the three big things that I have and getting rid of American Home Shield
Regarding Brown's technicians, their service was straightforward. They provided clear quotes, one under American Home Shield's provisions and an alternative for an upgraded repair, which was too much. The service wasn't remarkable, but it wasn't sub-par either—it was merely average.
In conclusion, while the service received from the technicians was adequate, American Home Shield's coverage fell short of my expectations. If the cash-in-lieu payouts remain low, I might consider other options in the future.

I had a recent experience with Limitless Heating and Cooling through an American Home Shield claim, and their team was great. The technician was polite and seemed very knowledgeable. However, having been a customer with American Home Shield for 15 years, I've noticed a decline in their customer service over the years. Initially, their service was commendable, but now it takes them forever to respond to requests. Moreover, the availability of service providers in our area has diminished, which adds to the frustration.
The cost aspect isn’t helping either. Every month, I have to put out more money than I've ever done before because the prices go up and the service call has gone up.

It seems like when I use American Home Shield, it's almost always a couple of days or a couple of trips. When my air conditioning unit stopped working, I worked with them and submitted my claim over the phone with the hopes of a quick resolution, especially since the weather was heating up and a functional AC was urgent. Unfortunately, the process wasn't as swift and took longer than I would have liked.
When the technician finally came to my home, the experience was fine, but I don't think American Home Shield would cough up the money to replace the system even though their entire advertisement campaign is based on, “If we can't fix it, we'll replace it.” In my case, I wish that would have been the case, but throwing anywhere between $800 and $1,000 towards getting the condenser fixed, and a seven-year-old air conditioner didn't seem to be a good idea and I would rather have put that $1,000 or more towards a new unit and that's what I eventually ended up doing.
Reflecting on my time with American Home Shield, I find myself wondering why I continue to pay $75 a month for a service that doesn't fulfill its promises to my satisfaction. I gave them a star rating of 2, as my experience did not match the assurance given by their promotional materials.

Since I'm an American Home Shield customer, I was offered a free HVAC service call to look at my unit, a precursor activity for the summer months. The technician, whose name might have been Brian, performed a routine check-up. He inspected the unit in the attic, went outside and tested the freon, and cleaned the system with a water hose while ensuring everything was satisfactory. He was here for about 20 minutes. Since the weather hasn’t been hot in Memphis yet, I haven’t used the unit, but for now, so far, so good.
I've been with American Home Shield for approximately 5 to 8 years, and I'd rate my overall experience as a 3 out of 5. Regarding their pricing, I also think it's quite competitive, and I'd give it a 4. Overall, while there are areas of improvement, the service has been reliable, and I continue to use it effectively.

When I had an issue, the claims process with American Home Shield began with a phone call to request a service, signaling a relatively straightforward interaction. The technician from Bonvillain Plumbing came out and efficiently replaced the plumbing components of a toilet. While the process can sometimes be a bit of a hassle, in the long run, there's cost savings involved, making it worth the expense.
If someone asked about my experience, I’d mention it's a good deal even with some stress involved. After evaluating my use of their online service platform, I'd give it very high marks; it's user-friendly and responsive. Ultimately, American Home Shield deserves commendation on the price-to-value balance they offer.

We were online and American Home Shield had an offer for an AC tune-up that they come and check it out, make sure everything's okay with it. We took advantage of that offer and submitting the claim was straightforward—we just put in a request online, and they took care of everything including assigning a contractor. The company they dispatched was responsive, reaching out to schedule a convenient time for us.
The technician they sent was fantastic. Not only was he thorough in his inspection, but he also took the time to answer every question we had.
Overall, my experience with American Home Shield was positive. The process was smooth, and their choice of contractors was excellent. I appreciate the seamless experience and have confidence in their service.

I had to call American Home Shield on the weekend of April 16th because my washing machine's drainage caused water to back up into my home, soaking the carpet in my den. I hoped their service would help determine if the cold weather had caused any pipe damage. The plumber from Trophy, assigned by American Home Shield, faced repeated scheduling issues, tying up my entire day. When he arrived, he barely investigated the actual problem I pointed out. Instead, they created a narrative about missing piping connections which seemed improbable given the house’s recent reconstruction due to fire damage. Notably, this rebuild required city inspection and approval, leaving their conclusions without merit.
To my dismay, although they assured me of a follow-up, I received zero communication for over a week. Meanwhile, two invoices of $1,375 and $9,300 appeared in my email. I decided to consult another plumber, who quickly traced the problem to a pinched tube in the washing machine—simple and now resolved. Unfortunately, my issue with American Home Shield goes beyond poor service from Trophy; it’s about their lack of communication. After being left unheard even post-contacting them directly, I canceled my subscription. American Home Shield's failure to update me concerning claims, coupled with contradicting information from Trophy, made the situation quite frustrating and left me very dissatisfied.

I bought my house in 2009. I got American Home Shield in 2010. My recent interaction with them involved a preseason check-up for a tune-up on my air conditioning system, which went smoothly without any need for repairs. Before this, I had a claim regarding my water heater, which required replacement. Although the overall claim process was somewhat lengthy, I believe the delay was more due to the vendor American Home Shield worked with rather than the company itself. Nonetheless, the replacement was eventually completed, and everything has been functioning well since then. Despite the hiccup with the vendor, I found AHS' service to be reliable.

When I filed a claim, there were no local plumbers available, which left me considering the possibility of canceling my policy. American Home Shield eventually found some plumbers in the Toledo area, but because of the delay, it was too late to prevent extended damage. Having leaks in winter was a genuine emergency. This prolonged response worsened the damage to my property, affecting not just my walls but my ceilings and downstairs bathroom too, necessitating significant repairs. When I reached out to cancel, they informed me they had finally contracted plumbers in Toledo and promised to send them without an additional charge. While this resolved the immediate issue, the damage was already extensive, which increased my frustration.
I believe American Home Shield needs better contracting measures to ensure service availability in areas they cover. Although I’ve been with them for quite a few years, I’ve noticed that my monthly cost has doubled, despite not having an excessive number of claims. What irks me is how other companies offer similar services at more competitive rates. With ongoing and avoidable repair costs hanging over me, I’m currently reassessing if I should continue with them.

Early on, I faced an issue with my fridge where a technician from 95 Appliance Services accidentally damaged the door. Although he fixed it temporarily, I'm unsure if the problem is fully resolved. I may need to follow up. My experience with the technicians has been mixed. I had one technician attend to my water heater who attempted to overcharge me. This has made me wary of potential scams. It seems as though companies are trying to exploit the insurance for more money, while technicians also look to benefit, often at the consumer's expense. I initially contacted American Home Shield due to an issue with my air conditioning unit. The procedure required me to pay a $125 fee, which I did, follow up with constant communications because both American Home Shield and the technician hardly ever got back to me with solutions without my intervention. It was expected from them that the report from the technician was to be sent in two days, yet it stretched to a trying week and a half before anything was finally sent.
Throughout the process, almost everyone I contacted at American Home Shield seemed to be reading off rehearsed scripts and offered no genuine assistance. It felt like they merely existed as placeholders in the operation while I navigated this saga on my own. Even reaching a supervisor at the technician’s side proved to be burdensome and only ultimately working towards the send-off of the report.
The frustration was further compounded by my claim being initially deemed covered under the benefits but surprisingly denied upon final review. Particularly annoying was the ordeal circling around the coil—the component on my AC unit that needed replacing. Despite a supposed approval communicated by the technician, I eventually learned it was denied, leaving me high and dry with only wasted days to show for my determination to resolve the issue. Given this entire experience, I am unfortunately ending my tenure with the company. I plan to cancel my services and move on to another provider. This sense of disbelief remains, especially being brushed aside when I needed them to live up to obligations as outlined.

A while ago, I faced issues with my air conditioning unit, for which American Home Shield sent Fast Response Heating and Cooling. Sadly, their service was not honest. They misdiagnosed the problem, implying extensive repairs were required, which would not be covered by the warranty unless carried out by their specified contractors. Wanting clarity, I hired an independent company to reassess the situation. They determined the issue was only a minor leak, which they promptly repaired. This honest company even provided written documentation, contradicting Fast Response’s analysis, which I intend to use in my complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the state attorney general.
I’ve been on a home warranty plan before and hoped this would bring peace of mind, but it's clear that both American Home Shield and their chosen contractor, Fast Response, seem primarily interested in collecting fees rather than providing real solutions. This experience left a bad taste, reminiscent of years ago when I stopped using American Home Shield for similar reasons.
Additionally, navigating their customer service is another ordeal. Communication hurdles arise with representatives based overseas, with whom clear dialogue is challenging, and requests to speak to stateside managers often get ignored or deferred. Reflecting on this experience and based on my brother and neighbors’ opinions, I cannot recommend American Home Shield. I find myself extremely dissatisfied with their services, as they neither keep their promises nor provide the reliable support expected from such a company.

When Joy Plumbing, dispatched by American Home Shield, came to work on my sink, the situation worsened. Initially, the sink was not leaking, but after Joy Plumbing's visit, it started leaking bad enough to require another plumber, which cost money out of pocket. This was the second occasion where something similar happened. The lack of resolution left me quite dissatisfied. While I contacted American Home Shield and expressed my dissatisfaction, figuring out how their services work has been confusing due to conflicting information I received. The whole ordeal has been frustrating, especially considering the time I’ve invested with American Home Shield – over a year now, maybe two or three. Interestingly, their previous service on my dryer went smoothly, which contrasts with my current experience.

HORRIBLE company! We sold a house in October, 2024 & purchased a one-year AHS home warranty for the new owner. I paid the whole annual premium. After closing on the house, I called & asked them to remove my credit card info from their records. Now, 6 months later, they charged my card $125. I called them, & they refuse to correct their error. They will not refund my money. In fact, the Escalation Dept said I'd have to contact the Buyer & get my money from her. SERIOUSLY? Their mistake, but I have to be the one to correct it?? I HATE THIS COMPANY! Please don't waste your money. They're thieves.

My water heater started leaking and although the techs were good and professional, they had to wait for approval from American Home Shield and that took three days. On the paper that the tech left us, all that he wrote was to “Replace the water heater.” So, it was gonna be easy-peasy. But AHS gave me an out-of-pocket cost. I shouldn't have to pay that. I was told all I had to pay was the service fee of $125. After that, the contractor came back with this estimate that I need to pay $1,040. They started coming up with a whole bunch of other stuff that needed to be done. I kept telling them no, but they weren't listening to me. As soon as I put my husband on the phone, the whole dynamics changed. Our conversation was with AHS, and he ended up getting cash in lieu. But we had to add to what they were paying Infinity.
My biggest issue was with the man from Infinity. If he had told us from the beginning and explained things to us, like the wholesale lady did when we bought the water heater, this would’ve gone differently. She took the time to break it all down. She told me the reason I was being charged all those extras was because they’re a company, and their license is on the line. She said that if Infinity didn’t bring things up to code, they could be fined if anything went wrong. But if we did it ourselves, we wouldn’t have to pay all those extra costs. She even said she recommended the expansion tank because if the water heater blew, that would help prevent further damage. She also told us about the other costs.
The man from Infinity could have been more forthcoming to us instead of calling us after they talked to American Home Shield, saying they had approval to cut some of the costs. The rep called again after we’d already bought the water heater. I told her it cost us $300 out of pocket, not including the expansion tank. And she responded that they could charge me $300, and we could take all that stuff back. It ended up taking my husband two or three days, but he finally got it installed the right way.
American Home Shield couldn't tell me anything about the extra cost and just kept telling me about the fake code. This was my first time with them and I wanna cancel it. My husband keeps telling me to give them another chance. But I’ve had the warranty for over two years, and I’ve just been giving them money. I don't have time to give away money. Still, I have to get the HVAC program done. The people that I bought my HVAC system from told me to call AHS, which was how I got mixed up with them. So, I had to call and make a claim to have them come out and look at my HVAC. But the people who put my HVAC in are who I want to come out. I don't want any other company to come out.

My evaporator coil broke down and the technician suggested that I replace the whole unit for $8000 instead of fixing the coil, which he claimed would lead to more inevitable issues soon. Given that information, I reached out to my cousin's recommendation and was informed that I might have a warranty for the coil. Sure enough, when I checked, it was under warranty. I communicated this to Air City, the company American Home Shield works with, requesting that they use my warranty instead of pushing the replacement. Surprisingly, they wanted to charge me a 20% restocking fee for a replacement unit that hadn't even been delivered yet.
Refusing to succumb, I contacted the manufacturer directly and discovered that the coil was still readily available. The rep told me they couldn't find the coil because they didn't make it anymore. She said if they find me one, it's gonna have to be a refurbished one. I said that doesn't make sense. I called them back and told them to bring the air conditioner because none of this works, that they don't have it anymore. So, I ended up calling Lennox myself. There are two stores in Houston and I called both. When somebody answered, I asked about my coil and I was told they had it. I called Air City back to tell them where the coil was available in Houston for them to go get it. The rep said that she had just called them and that was not what they told her.
We got off the phone, but Air City was still trying to sell the air conditioner, so I just put the air conditioner on hold and had Abacus come out. After talking to Abacus, I ended up calling AHS back, finding out that I had to because I didn't want Air City back in my home at all. I was told that because they started the process, they had to complete the process. I said I just don't want them back. I told this story, I don't know how many times, to a representative for American Home Shield. They told me that in order for the contractor to come back, I would have to pay the 100-something-dollar fee again. I asked why I have to pay another fee for someone who tried to sell me an air conditioner that I didn't need. They told me I can take the cash-out plan.
I thought that if I took the cash-out plan, as long as I found something that was under $5,000, I could just submit my receipt and be reimbursed. Only to finally speak to someone to tell me how it worked. I said if I'd had known that, I would have just paid 100 and something dollars again and not be out $1,600. Because I ended up having to pay $3,000 to get my coil fixed, when I could have easily paid the 100 and something dollars again had I known, but nobody explained the process to me.
Throughout this cumbersome process, I felt misguided by the responses I received from the various representatives at American Home Shield. Later engagements clarified that if I chose a 'cash out plan', it wouldn’t cover my full expenditure. Ultimately, I bore an unnecessary $1600 expense, which proper guidance from the start could have prevented. Nonetheless, when I finally spoke to someone knowledgeable in the cash payout department, she clarified everything patiently - it was a lesson in how service training could benefit the team immensely. I've been with American Home Shield for about four years and although I experienced this hiccup, their final assistance proved helpful.

The initial vendor couldn't provide a detailed report on an issue with my washing machine, so a second opinion was sought from PJ Appliance. PJ Appliance's technician was thorough and explained things well, taking about 30 to 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the issue with my washer remains unresolved, and I'm still waiting for a resolution by the 19th of this month.
I've been using American Home Shield for about five years, and overall, I haven't been too thrilled with their service. They promised follow-up calls that never came through, and consistent communication required much persistent effort on my part. This claim started back in March 6th and I got the runaround dealing with AHS the whole time and talking with people. They say they'll call you the next day and they don't. Then you're calling yourself. I'm not too thrilled with them. By the time I have been calling and I was into the next month of waiting for this washing machine, I wanted to speak to a manager. I found it extremely difficult to escalate my concerns, as getting in contact with a manager was particularly challenging. They eventually passed it to their escalation department, but the response didn't meet the standards one might expect for a higher level of support.
Despite PJ Appliance's efficiency, my dissatisfaction with the American Home Shield process remains.

A technician from American Air, which is associated with American Home Shield, implied that for a payment, he could alter his findings to suit what we needed on paper and even suggested purchasing a new unit from his personal side business for a 'deal.' This unprofessional conduct led us to seek a second opinion, switching to a different company.
The second technician from a related company was courteous and seemed competent; however, he neglected to address a straightforward leak, which was quickly identified by a subsequent company visit. It appeared as though the service visits were intended to be recurring for profit rather than resolution.
Fortunately, another technician who was from CamAire addressed our problem. He was thorough, professional, and efficient, clearly explaining the issues and our options. Thanks to him, we managed to finalize decisions smoothly during a home sale transition. Despite this eventual resolution, the service experience was marred by recurring issues with technicians and poor receptivity to feedback from American Home Shield. They continued using subpar contractors without addressing customer feedback, despite years of patronizing the company.
In conclusion, while I had an effective end experience with CamAire, I am disappointed with American Home Shield's overall handling of feedback, particularly in regard to employing competent contractors. This repetitive oversight, while cost-effective for me due to a fixed-deductible setup, is not a sustainable business model and could significantly frustrate other long-time users like myself.

We've been loyal customers of American Home Shield for years, and generally, our experience has been positive. Recently, we encountered an issue with an appliance, a minor one thankfully, since something was simply leaning against the washing machine. The repair itself was straightforward.
The technician arrived way earlier than expected, around 7:20 AM, without proper notice. While I appreciated his efforts, the early timing caught me off guard, as I was still in a deep sleep and missed his text. Plus, there wasn't much verbal communication, possibly due to a language barrier. Nonetheless, he was pleasant enough, even if a bit quiet.
Overall, despite minor communication hiccups, I've stayed with American Home Shield because they’ve consistently respected the bounds of their service. I want to specifically highlight their partnership with Jones as a company; they excel at what they do. I have no significant complaints or suggestions for American Home Shield as a whole and am satisfied enough to rate them highly.

My air conditioner broke down and American Home Shield insisted it needed a complete replacement rather than a repair. However, the replacement cost far exceeded what they were willing to cover. They worked with a single vendor whose quoted price was inflated. They also demanded unnecessary work, like breaking concrete around my pool, to install a new unit. I opted for a $1,200 payout, but replacing the air conditioner was going to cost me $5,000. I found my own vendor to do the job without having to break the concrete, which exposed further inefficiencies in American Home Shield's service.
Furthermore, when a wall-mounted air conditioner in my garage malfunctioned, American Home Shield incorrectly classified it as a window unit and refused coverage. They claimed that window units aren’t covered, ignoring the fact that it was installed in a wall—a distinction that should've mattered. I still believe this unit can be repaired with a new fan motor since the compressor is fine, but they have left me no choice but to turn to outside help.
Due to these poor experiences and unexpected expenses, I decided to cancel my coverage with AHS entirely and look for a different home warranty supplier. As a property owner with rental properties, the reliability and fairness of these services are crucial. Based on my experiences, I would rate American Home Shield at the lowest end, and I am in the process of moving my properties to a more dependable service provider.

My dryer was struggling to dry clothes effectively. It often takes multiple cycles over two days to dry a single load. The first technician, who seemed rushed, conducted a very brief inspection. They only ran the machine for a short time, determined it was producing heat, and therefore concluded there was no problem despite not doing any thorough checks or taking anything apart.
When I brought up that another technician mentioned the heating element was faulty, he dismissed the concern because, in his view, any heat is satisfactory under the American Home Shield policy. This approach starkly contrasted with previous companies that American Home Shield had assigned, who were diligent and detailed in their inspections, always taking their time to investigate thoroughly.
However, I've remained in communication with an American Home Shield supervisor who checks in weekly. Although my initial appointment for a follow-up was missed due to a lack of consideration for my schedule, this supervisor ensures there's constant contact, and she clearly communicates each step we need to take. My garbage disposal stopped working and even started smoking. While placing the claim for that, I also decided to address some additional issues: my front toilet wouldn't stop running, the back toilet was leaning, and the bathroom faucet handles were worn out.
The technician from Texas Plumbing was fantastic. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and did his best to fix all of the issues. For the concerns that couldn't be immediately resolved, he indicated that they would follow up. Overall, he was very professional and approachable.
Since the service, my garbage disposal is working well again, and the running toilet problem has been fixed. I recommend American Home Shield, as having the warranty was very helpful for these types of situations. The quality of the technician who assisted me was such that I'd request him again for future issues. I highly commend the service provided by both American Home Shield and Texas Plumbing.

I had an appliance issue and initially, two different companies were sent out. The first wasn't successful in fixing the problem, but the second one managed to handle it efficiently. When I initially reported the repair issue, I believe I spoke with a representative. It was a bit confusing as I wasn't directly informed by American Home Shield about the change to a different repair company; I only found out via a phone call from the new company that they were assigned to my case.
I haven't faced any more issues since their intervention, which is great. As a long-standing customer for many years, I've found that their service isn't consistently exceptional. If pressed, I’d rate my overall experience at about a 3 out of 5. While I believe customer service could be improved, I acknowledge this is often the case elsewhere too.
Regarding price, I’d also give it about a 4 on a scale. With such long-term patronage, I would have hoped for some price appreciation over the years—especially since we've probably funded the replacement of everything multiple times over.
While I've predominantly interacted through representatives, my husband has used their online services. Personally, I prefer speaking directly to someone.

After a bit of a mix-up with American Home Shield, my experience took an unexpected start when I scheduled a plumbing service with US Plumbing and Rotor. Initially, they were supposed to arrive on the day I received a text message confirmation of a timeframe from 12 pm but it shifted to the next day from 12 to 4 pm. Unfortunately, nobody showed up on the rescheduled day, and that's when I contacted customer service because, according to their online system, the call was marked as complete, even though that wasn't the case.
Fortunately, once I spoke to customer service, they adjusted the claim, and this time the technician came the following day. The service provided was professional, and everything was fixed in less than half an hour. The initial delay was mainly due to a communication mix-up.
I would rate American Home Shield 5 stars. Their customer service handled the situation professionally. A minor suggestion for improvement is to make the customer service number more accessible, as I had to Google it. Nevertheless, they resolved the issue efficiently, and the end service was excellent.

Ever since I bought my property here, I've had American Home Shield and I make the payments to them every month out of my mortgage. But right now, like I was telling several of the people there in American Home Shield, I've had two heart attacks and I've got a heart condition. I just can't take the heat very well. So, I made a claim for the AC and they got the first appraisal. Then they went to a second opinion. But if the second opinion took as long as the first opinion, I wasn't going to wait. So, I went ahead and I told Doshier, the contractor, to get this air conditioner fixed and I'd pay them for it. Then I would talk to American Home Shield about reimbursement. Their techs were nice, friendly, and professional. So far, I have not yet received the reimbursement. American Home Shield said it would take anywhere from 10 to 21 days because it went up to the upper management for approval of the reimbursement.

I was impressed with the service of AHS. Whenever I needed to set up a repair, like when my air conditioning unit needed fixing, I just called them directly. The response time was quick, and Moreno Plumbing and Heating, who they sent, have been professional. They're currently working with American Home Shield to fully resolve the situation, as there was a bit of a debate over the exact solution.
While pricing might not be my favorite part— it would be great if it were less—but I understand they're running a business, not a charity. All in all, I'd give American Home Shield a strong four out of five in terms of overall service and customer experience.

CK Appliance came out to assess the situation when I had an issue with one of my appliances, and initially, they indicated that the problem was resolved because the appliance wasn't exhibiting its previous issue at the time of their visit. However, shortly after they left, the issue resurfaced.

I've had successful experiences with them fixing issues like my hot water heater and AC unit, always receiving timely assistance, sometimes waiting as little as two days. It's reassuring, especially during emergencies, to count on them for prompt service.
Over the years, the contractors sent out have generally been good. However, there was a less than satisfactory experience; one contractor mistakenly installed a sump pump incorrectly. This mistake became apparent during heavy rainfall and was quite a bother for my nerves since the noise was perplexing. It necessitated a corrective service call that cost an additional $100, which, as a retiree on a fixed income, was a frustrating and unnecessary expense. Thankfully, the setup worked well enough to prevent flooding—a relief many didn't have during the rains—but the extra cost was unwelcome.

American Home Shield recently sent out Alliance Overhead Garage Doors to replace the door spring and conduct some basic maintenance. I've been utilizing their services for quite some time across multiple properties, and they have consistently proven to be efficient and dependable. The technician is punctual—although sometimes slightly abrupt when busy—but always goes above and beyond, even providing a new remote free of charge when ours broke.
As for American Home Shield, I’ve been with them for many years; they can be complicated to deal with, especially due to frequent policy changes without prior notice. Nonetheless, holding an existing policy in Hawaii feels invaluable since they continue to cover services under it. Most of the vendors are excellent, but customer service can be challenging due to long hold times and an interface with glitches. The same applies to their online services, which have improved but still face issues. In terms of pricing, the cost is justified. Paying $600 annually, I deem it valuable, especially given that one substantial repair could offset the yearly cost. Despite some frustrations, the coverage they provide has been beneficial in maintaining my properties smoothly.

I've been with American Home Shield since around 2016, initially as part of a requirement when I bought a townhouse. The seller had to keep the service for a year, and I opted to continue with them even after moving to a new place, adding the service there as well. In terms of reliability, they've been consistently good. I've had only one hiccup where they sent an email confirming a service visit, but Fletcher Heating and Air weren’t notified on their end. I called in to submit my claim, and the entire phone interaction was handled well. The representatives were polite and efficient, which set a positive tone for the whole experience.
Initially, I had Happy Hippo come out for the job. Though their visit was primarily for cleaning the unit, they identified that my unit needed freon. They couldn't apply it since that wasn't part of the scheduled service, but they were clear and thorough, cleaning the unit well and even showing me pictures of the dirt before and after. It was a thoroughly professional job.
Later on, when I needed to have the freon added, I made another call to American Home Shield once I had the time, and that process was equally smooth. Both experiences reflected great service.

My experience has been far from satisfactory. Initially, I believed that American Home Shield would provide comprehensive coverage for issues like my HVAC unit. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When my HVAC needed replacement, I discovered that my warranty only partially covered the expenses.
I bought the gold plan, not knowing it wasn't the best option, which led to an out-of-pocket expense of about $3,300. This was out of my budget, especially considering that the total cost of repairs was around $3,600, and the contribution from American Home Shield was just $508, leaving me with a huge gap to cover.
There's a common misconception that home warranties will ensure all repairs are taken care of, but my experience was quite different. Since I joined in October of last year, this was my first repair claim with them, and it was not a good introduction.
Though customer service was polite and satisfactory, and I'd give them a 5 on that front, the overall value and coverage I got were disappointing. Thus, I'd rate American Home Shield a 2 based on my experiences. I certainly didn't get the coverage I assumed I would, which was a letdown.

The Craft ice maker in the bottom of the refrigerator started pouring water into the bottom basket. There were no ice cubes, just water. I submitted a claim with American Home Shield, and the technician from RC appliance came over. I was impressed by his expertise; he quickly identified the problem, ordered the necessary part, and completed the repair in just one quick return visit, taking only around 15 minutes altogether. Now, my refrigerator is making ice again, and everything seems to be functioning well.
While this experience was smooth and efficient, I hope American Home Shield can improve their service regarding air conditioner repairs. During a past summer, I had issues with my air conditioner, and they struggled not finding a technician promptly. That's an issue in Arizona.
Despite that, I’m generally satisfied with my service, especially based on this recent experience.

When a contractor had to service my system, I also got a brand new system from them. They were really good. They told me step-by-step what they were gonna do, and the system right now is working fine. I'm pleased with it. Additionally, when I reached out to American Home Shield, the rep was great. I took him through a lot of questions, and he explained everything to me between getting one unit and the other unit. I would recommend American Home Shield. I've been using them for 10 years now, and they’re good. However, sometimes I have a little problem with the communication. Also, on top of the cost, you have to pay $100 for a service.

I signed up with American Home Shield nearly a decade ago, and I’ve had quite a journey with their services since then. While the claim process can be lengthy at times—like the slow response during my dishwasher repair—it eventually gets done, and it works. I once considered tackling such repairs myself to save time, but knowing I didn't have to was a relief.
In the years I've been with American Home Shield, I’ve particularly relied on them for major repairs. They stepped in when I needed an HVAC unit replacement for my Tennessee home. Though I encounter some variability in the quality of the technicians they contract, when I find good ones, I stick with them directly, bypassing American Home Shield altogether. But overall, especially when it came to selling a home, the warranty was a strong plus.
I’d recommend American Home Shield, noting that it’s important to be proactive about who services your appliances. If they send somebody out you don't like, just send them away then call the next guy. I use their service for both of my homes and believe the coverage serves a valuable purpose.

I was having an issue with my home's heating system. I contacted American Home Shield, and they sent out Crystal Air to take a look. They were very professional and the technician was able to diagnose the issue quickly. He initially thought it might be a complex repair due to the heat pump being in the mountain area, but a simple fuse change had the unit working again.
Thankfully, it's been operating perfectly since that day, although I don't use it frequently as I don't live there full-time. In terms of service, the interaction with American Home Shield was quite straightforward. After I reported the issue, they assigned Crystal Air, who scheduled an appointment within three days. This delay was more on Crystal Air's side rather than American Home Shield.
However, paying a fee upfront and for every service call doesn’t seem cost-effective unless faced with a major issue. In minor circumstances, like a garbage disposal, I find it more economical to handle repairs independently.

I had a positive experience with American Home Shield when I faced an issue with my garage door. The technicians from Flash were responsive, fixed the problem efficiently, and ensured the door was working perfectly. That gave me a good initial impression.
However, my experience with a different claim left much to be desired. I faced challenges when dealing with an issue concerning my cooktop and food fan. The technician assigned to this problem was dismissive and rude, both to our household member and myself. Despite us having manufacturer confirmation of an issue, he refused to listen or provide help. I've reported this to American Home Shield and am still waiting for a follow-up after two weeks.
Overall, while American Home Shield's scheduling process is convenient, this hiccup has been cumbersome. I might reconsider my association with them if similar issues arise without solutions. At this point, I'd rate my experience as average because of the contrasting service quality I've received. If the service on the second issue improves, there’s potential I'll remain with American Home Shield, hoping these issues can be resolved efficiently without further problems.

American Home Shield has consistently supported us for over 20 years. Recently, my experience with them was centered around an issue with my air conditioning unit. I reached out to them online, which is my usual approach, and while I've had a positive history with their online services, this time I couldn't set up the request through their website as it malfunctioned. This was a first for me, as the web platform is typically user-friendly, informational, and convenient, often handling my requests via email or text without direct calls.
A service provider, US Comfort, was dispatched to address the problem with my AC. They efficiently replaced the fan motor of the compressor unit in one visit, impressively carrying the necessary part in their van.
Though the process was smooth overall, I took notice of the recent rise in service fees. I recently dealt with a frustrating experience involving American Home Shield. My garage door spring broke, and I assumed both the springs would be covered under my warranty. However, when the technician arrived, he claimed that only one spring was covered and attempted to charge me an additional $610 for the other spring and some other unnecessary services.
I refused this charge and immediately called American Home Shield. The representative confirmed that both springs should indeed be covered and instructed the technician not to charge any extra fees. Despite this, he insisted on needing payment or wouldn't perform the repairs. Left with no choice, I had to purchase a new set of springs online for $103 and had a friend install them so I could get my car out of the garage.
Finally, I spent over an hour on the phone with American Home Shield, discussing the situation with three different representatives before getting my $125 service fee refunded. This was my first claim in the eight months I have had the warranty, and the experience was hardly pleasant. Reflecting on this, I would rate my experience with American Home Shield as a 2 out of 5.

I'm happy with Compass Plumbing. The technician seemed knowledgeable, reporting that expanding pipes could cause the strange wall noises I've been hearing, even though these noises occur without running hot water.
However, even after this visit, the issue remains unresolved. It's not a easy straight-cut issue. With American Home Shield for quite a while now, I’ve often found myself frustrated. Although I've experienced repairs for leaks, the coverage feels limited, often coming back with "not covered" remarks for other issues. Each service call results in a $100 charge, which aligns with typical plumbing fees.
I'm left feeling that American Home Shield’s coverage might not live up to my expectations despite being with them across multiple properties. I'd rate my experience at around a 2 out of 5 regarding satisfaction mainly because most claims weren't covered.

When it came to my most recent claim to American Home Shield, the process wasn't exactly swift. Filing online, I waited about three days for someone to get scheduled. The technician couldn't make it for a week, and repairs took another week and a half after that. Though it was just a dripping faucet, resulting in unnecessary water waste for almost three weeks, which was annoying.
On the other hand, my previous experience with two fridge issues wasn't smooth at all. I made an online claim -- a mistake as I learned-- for both fridges experiencing gasket troubles. They ended up repairing only one appliance and demanded I pay another $100 co-pay plus another diagnostic for the other. Despite both issues being duly noted by an initial technician, the system insisted on rigid rules instead of flexibility. This created multiple calls with customer service representatives -- most of whom weren't helpful, save one who candidly advised me it was unwise to keep pushing back since the company wasn't likely budge. Though it’s disappointing, they eventually fixed the second fridge after reiterating the diagnostic, but the entire ordeal left a sour taste.
These inconsistencies caused me to rate American Home Shield a 3 out of 5. While they provided repair services as promised, dealing with their bureaucracy often felt like an uphill battle rather than convenient support.

I recently found myself dealing with a rough week where multiple things at my home went haywire simultaneously. My AC stopped working, my water pump gave out, and then my garage door also ran into issues. However, getting approval from them this time turned into a complete headache.
While Integrity Air Conditioning handled the AC repair well, the water pump was another story. The contractors were ready and waiting to handle the repair, but a necessary approval from American Home Shield was pending, leaving me without water for two days. I made numerous attempts to reach their supervisors, but they were unavailable. It felt like my requests fell through the cracks. What was reassuring, though, was the effort the contracting company, H2O, put in. They eventually decided to fix the water issue without an official approval, which was a huge relief. They clearly prioritized not leaving me without essential water over the weekend. H2O communicated with me the whole way through concerning why there was holdup.
Recovering from this, American Home Shield did acknowledge the inconvenience by refunding the service fee, which wasn't my initial motivation for voicing my concerns, but it seemed like they got why I was upset. Although things with my garage and previous air conditioning repairs went smoothly, this experience highlighted communication flaws with American Home Shield, particularly the need for regular updates and perhaps distinguishing cases as emergencies, especially when they involve basic utilities like water. This incident also shed light on why clear, candid dialogues with customer service could prevent future encounters of the same nature for both parties.

I love American Home Shield. I've had them for a few years now, and they've done as expected. They have always been quite responsive to my inquiries. If I submit something online, it gets addressed right away with prompt communication via calls, follow-ups, and even texts. I like that about them.
Like many other services, the primary change over the years has been the pricing, as it tends to increase annually. I’ve experienced no issues with the contractors sent, including for the services for air conditioning and heating. Every year, they offer a complimentary check on either my air conditioning or heating, and if any issues arise, they report back to American Home Shield. I like that they do that. It's a good company. After the report, I receive various options—repair, replacement, or paying a portion if I prefer an upgrade.
For example, my washing machine tub failed, and they offered to replace it at a value I found quite fair. This allowed me to upgrade to a smart machine easily by just paying the difference. The replacement process was seamless, with them handling the removal and installation without any setbacks. It was easy and I really like that about them as well.
Although pricing changes occurred over time, the customer service has remained consistently beneficial whenever I've filed a claim or had concerns.
I fully endorse American Home Shield and believe they do an excellent job. Overall, my interaction with American Home Shield is seamless and efficient, instigating a sense of ease and trust in their services.

There are moments of both satisfaction and frustration with their customer service. Initially, their customer service was commendable. However, nowadays, their handling of claims leaves much to be desired. Some reps are horrible and rude. Also, sometimes, they don't know things. I prefer to talk to somebody in the States. My latest grievance revolves around a leak in my daughter's bathroom. Despite reporting it repeatedly over the past two weeks, no resolution has been provided. Instead, a plumber tried to negotiate a side deal instead of properly addressing the issue. It’s disheartening that after being a loyal customer for so long, this issue remains unresolved.
There's also a significant point of contention with the quality of workers. Some professional visits have been quite disappointing. In fact, I once had to hire a personal contact to ensure efficient repair work. It's distressing to pay regular premiums only to sometimes bear additional expenses due to subpar service. The shifts in customer service, perceived decline in service quality, and cost should improve. Choosing American Home Shield was driven by recommendations, and as someone who recommended them, it’s essential they maintain high standards. The recent experiences haven’t quite lived up to this expectation.

Setting the thermostat to 70 degrees didn't translate to the warmth we needed; 50-degree days indoors hardly felt comfortable, and turning it higher just resulted in a chilly breeze. Although our unit had functioned well since 2014 and hadn't undergone any modifications, the technician said it is the duct size or the unit size. My refrigerator's water dispenser stopped working and I submitted a service request. The response from the technician wasn't ideal. Without inspecting the issue in person, he ordered a part and scheduled a visit. During his attempt to fix the refrigerator, which happened in my absence, he alerted me that the pipes were leaking and insisted I needed a plumber ASAP. This was perplexing as there were no prior leaks.
The plumber I called explained that the damage had been caused by someone forcefully handling the water supply valve, which the technician was supposedly working on. To my dismay, the technician had my father-in-law, who struggles with English, sign a note absolving him of any responsibility. It cost me an unexpected $800 for another plumber to rectify the situation because the water couldn't be turned on till the leak was fixed.
When I contacted American Home Shield about this ordeal, they advised me to reach out to the technician’s company directly. This lack of accountability from them was exasperating, given that they've repeatedly sent out subpar contractors during my tenure as a four-year customer. Paying monthly fees for this service only to handle issues like shoddy workmanship and having to pay out-of-pocket defeats the purpose of having coverage.
The contractors provided by American Home Shield have frequently been less than satisfactory; this incident was just the most impactful and costly example. After this experience, my faith in American Home Shield has considerably waned.

I found the technician to be quite impressive—he was professional, wore shoe covers to keep the house clean, showed me the problem with the low refrigerant, explained the need for the new FDA-approved refrigerant for our older unit, and discussed the costs clearly. This gave me confidence in the process.
The main advantage AHS provides for me is the peace of mind knowing my mom, who lives alone, has a simple way to access local services when something breaks down. My recent experience with American Home Shield's service has been less than satisfactory. I encountered an issue with my garage, which suddenly stopped working, and my remotes were not working. The technician from DGM Contracting struggled to communicate effectively due to language barriers and failed to resolve the issue on the same day. He ordered two remote controls, but it wasn't until two weeks later that they came back. Also, he couldn't program the remote that's in the car. Dealing with American Home Shield's service takes an unnecessarily long time; requesting assistance can mean waiting days for a response, and often requires follow-ups.

American Home Shield's contractor worked on our refrigerator. Initially, it seemed the compressor was the issue, but after two visits, it turned out to be the starter, which was wired incorrectly on the first check. After the second technician fixed it, everything started working fine. I've been with American Home Shield for at least 9 years since we purchased our house, and, overall, I've been pleased with the vendors they send out. They have been efficient, and I've experienced no notable issues with their service. I tell people about AHS all the time.

Whenever I need to file a claim, I usually do it through American Home Shield's app or online platform. It's pretty straightforward, except for my last claim involving the garage door. The online system didn’t have that as an option, so I had to call them. Fortunately, they confirmed my coverage, and the issue was resolved promptly with a service visit. While my overall experience has been smooth, I do feel that the service fee of $120 is a bit steep, especially since my previous policy with another company had a fee of $85. Despite this, I have stuck with American Home Shield because I've faced no issues with their services so far, unlike my past experiences with another warranty company.

The AC unit was not functioning as expected. There was a clogged drain behind the kitchen window that was spilling rusty water onto the deck. It ruined the deck. But American Home Shield's technician took care of it. They quickly identified and fixed the problem. I would recommend American Home Shield based on this interaction.

I've had American Home Shield since 2014. Recently, I experienced an issue with the drain in my half bathroom sink; it started leaking, prompting me to file a claim with their partnered service, Loyalty Home Services, for plumbing repairs. Recently, I experienced an issue with my oven where the heating element and the computer at the top needed attention. The service company 7-H Home Services was dispatched for the repair. They did a good job with the repairs; however, I was curious about why they used technicians from locations so far away, approximately 50 miles from my home. This distance seemed to contribute to a delay, as the parts needed were ordered by American Home Shield, leading to a repair timeline of nearly two weeks. Despite this wait, once everything was in place, the oven now works great. Throughout the experience, my primary concern was the time it took due to logistics, though the repair itself was performed well once the parts were available. If the technicians and parts could be sourced more locally, it might expedite the process significantly.

Currently still trying to resolve part of my house having no electricity. The electrician came out 4/23 and diagnosed the problem. I specifically asked the cause and was told there is no definitive answer but best guess is age of the home, which would be normal age wear and tear. Within 24 hours AHS had denied my claim stating the electrical company says it’s caused be foundation movement. Electrician left me a copy of the diagnostic report which states nothing of the sort. I have had 5 phone calls and 2 app chats with AHS telling me the diagnostic report says foundation so it’s not covered but they cannot provide me a copy of that report. So electrician says they can’t definitively say but AHS can say what they want to deny the claim and then refuse to validate to me who made that determination.
Meanwhile I am on day 18 of part of my house having no power. I can only talk to generic customer service and not the actual claims adjusters, and customer service just keeps reading my policy to me. Had every intention of renewing when my contract was up in two months but this has left a very bitter taste in my mouth as to how they handle claims.

The dishwasher in my home began leaking water on the kitchen floor. The Universal First Appliance team was prompt in diagnosing the issue—an old hose that needed replacement. Impressively, they came back in a few days with the right part and took care of the installation without a hitch.
The technicians who visited our home were very professional and considerate. I was wholly satisfied with the job they did; the dishwasher now works perfectly, with no issues at all.

My central air unit was having issues, so American Home Shield arranged for A.R.T. Heating and Air to come out. They assessed that my unit needed more Freon, so they added some along with a dye kit to detect any potential leaks. They also cleared the line. Since then, my central air has been working well with no further issues. I've been using AHS for over 11 years, and my recent experience reaffirmed why I continue to trust them.
Throughout my experience, I haven't encountered any problems with American Home Shield. Given my satisfaction over the years, I would rate my experience a solid 5, indicating that I would highly recommend them.

An issue arose with the heating system at my home and American Home Shield sent technicians over to inspect the situation. They ultimately determined that while the unit itself was functioning, the problem lay with the duct system, which was deemed insufficient. Unfortunately, they informed me that American Home Shield wouldn't assist with this issue, passing it off as something outside their coverage or responsibility.
Despite not getting the outcome I hoped for, the technicians who visited were courteous and I didn't have any issues with their conduct or service. I think they did their job effectively, even though my problem couldn't be resolved through American Home Shield.
The account is on my daughter and her husband's policy, and we’ve been using American Home Shield for a couple of years now. Personally, I’d rate my experience around a 3 out of 5, acknowledging this mixed experience with them—decent service from the technicians but dissatisfaction with how the coverage issues were addressed.

My experience with AHS has been positive. Filing claims online is very straightforward and user-friendly, making the process easy for me. The contractors they've sent out have been great; in fact, I was so impressed that I ended up hiring one of them from United Air Temp to handle my air conditioning needs. American Home Shield is a scam. Short version: Their contractors made things much worse while "fixing" our original issue and American Home Shield demanded we pay DOUBLE to fix what they messed up. Originally we had a busted water heater and everything else was fine; now we have no running water and American Home Shield won't fix us unless we pay the fee for two new work orders.

The previous homeowner of my home vouched for American Home Shield's services and since my husband isn't handy, I signed up with them. I recently had an issue where my dryer stopped drying and was making noise. I contacted American Home Shield and lodged a claim. The process was straightforward, as I managed to speak directly with a live agent, however, they didn't provide any information about the contractor who would be visiting. Initially, someone from Sears was sent for the inspection, and after diagnosing the problem, they ordered the necessary parts. Soon after, a different technician came to complete the repair. The dryer now works well, though it still makes some noise.
I've been with American Home Shield for 17-18 years, and they've consistently provided good service. Even though it can take a week or more for a service call to be addressed, once they get going, they tend to do a satisfactory job. A recent claim was surprisingly quick, however, which was a pleasant change. But the price hikes are disconcerting. I began with a monthly premium of $50, and now it's $104. I signed my mom up, she had an even higher starting premium, and it's now $175. Additionally, while my mother has benefited with new replacements for irreparable items, I haven't had similar luck. Other than that, American Home Shield sends out professionals who come out and take care of my problems, saving me from headaches. If it wasn't for them, I'd have to be going around calling different places to have different people come and do the things that I need to get done.

Having been with American Home Shield for a couple of years, I've observed some recurring challenges. For instance, every time a contractor is sent out to resolve an issue, there's an attempt to upsell or charge for upgrades. When I had my hot water heater replaced, it turned out that the existing pipes were unexpectedly not covered due to a peculiar reason—they were painted black.
With my sump pump, although both pumps went out, they only replaced one part of the system even though it was interconnected. It was quite frustrating not to have the full setup replaced like it originally was. A similar experience occurred when I had an issue with my electrical meter. The contractor sent by American Home Shield insisted on replacing the entire meter panel, which was unnecessary. Thankfully, another service ultimately identified and efficiently addressed the issue by simply replacing the clips, without any further complications.
These experiences with flawed contractor assignments prompted me to suggest a more customer-involved approach. Perhaps offering a selection of contractors to choose from, allowing consumers to research and make informed decisions based on reviews, would be more effective. The contractors sent by American Home Shield haven't all met my expectations.
Overall, while I appreciate the services provided, the process of assigning contractors and addressing certain components needs refinement. There's room for improvement, particularly in terms of transparency and giving customers a say in choosing who works on their home systems.

This Home Warranty company has been unresponsive to complaints about the professionals with whom they contract. I have had numerous issues with their Electrical and Pool companies and have had to pay out of pocket for these services. At $1,200/year for coverage, it is not economically sound to then also pay out of pocket for Electrical and Pool repair services.

American Home Shield is a limited warranty and not a home owner's insurance company. American Home Shield has contracts with professional, licensed and insured vendors that service your area. Those vendors do have to meet the qualifications of your local, state, and federal government to maintain their license. It is no fault of the vendor when a covered item does not have a diagnosis of normal wear and tear, and the diagnosis causes the item to not meet the guidelines of coverage; or when a covered item is approved for repair or replacement but does have non-covered costs as defined in the contract, for modifications or code upgrades. I have not had a good experience with American Home Shield. I will switch companies as soon as I can. I've not been happy. The fact that I had to go to Home Depot this morning to get patchwork stuff to seal the hole in the wall so that I can pass a home inspection and sell my house is ridiculous. If the valve got turned on to hot water side of the faucet, it would leak water. When I tried to tighten it up a bit, it broke off into the wall. The house was built in 1992 and they used the PVC pipe and it was brittle. I didn't know that turning the handle would snap the pipe like it did.
Leak Seekers came out, repaired the leak, and told me that somebody would get back to me in the next 24 hours regarding the repair of the hole that was cut in the sheetrock to get to the plumbing behind the wall. Nothing has happened. I have a home inspection on the 15th and I don't have time to wait for whatever they're doing or not doing. It has been too long and I can't wait any longer unless somebody can come out today and fix the hole in the wall.
AHS said they have a third-party company. When my heat exchanger went out on my HVAC system, my heat exchanger was still covered under warranty. I said, "When you get the part, it's covered." They tried to upsell me on a whole new system. I said, "I don't need a third party calling me and harassing me about upgrading an HVAC system that's not all that old." They left me almost the whole month of March without any heat as soon as I declined buying the whole system. They made me wait three weeks before they came out and put in the heat exchanger.
They were fast in getting someone out here for the HVAC system. I was happy with that. But when it came to negotiating a new system is when they failed me. I said, "Why would I buy a whole new HVAC system if the coverage itself covers $5,000 on the heating end, $5,000 on the cooling end, and $5,000 on the ductwork? Why would I pay out of pocket to upgrade my system?" They were trying to pull a scam. If I had not thought through what everything covered, I would be taken advantage of.

I submitted a claim through American Home Shield when the gasket seal of my dishwasher went out. The process was seamless—there were no difficulties at all. American Home Shield coordinated with the contractors efficiently. I received updates via text, both from American Home Shield and the contractor, which kept me informed throughout.
When the contractor arrived, the service was commendable. He was knowledgeable and clearly aware of what needed to be done since the necessary part had already arrived in the mail beforehand. Since the repair, everything has been functioning perfectly.
Though I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years, I am considering other options due to the issue of rising rates. At this stage of life, being a 78-year-old senior citizen, it's vital to scrutinize costs carefully. Despite the excellent service, I feel the pricing could be more competitive. They charge a $100 call-out fee on top of a monthly fee that exceeds $100, which is the main downside for me.
For those contemplating American Home Shield, the ease of the claims process is a major perk. The online tools, like their website, work adequately. In terms of coverage, you get exactly what you pay for. Overall, while the service is reliable, the cost remains a significant factor that may need reconsideration for continued patronage.

Updated on 05/13/2025: Can I put a rating of zero. I have been a Customer of American Home Shield for many years. They used to be good. No more. The dragging out of a repair on my AC unit has caused it to fail. The process now renders an endless loop of customer service people whose goal seems to be to get to pay as little as possible while not caring if they break the contract with you to repair your AC or replace it. Run as far away from them. I have never experienced anything like this in my life from a business, blaming their supplied vendor and forcing you to go outside, so they can say they don’t have to honor the contract.
Original Review: This company is horrible now. I have had them for 20 years their service used to be good. No more. Find another company. I have had an A/C problem that has not been fixed for nearly a month due to the vendor not repairing what they initially stated and then delays around their process to approve a part that should have been approved a month ago. No real escalation support and delayed responses to my complaint. I belief they play games so you will fix it by yourself or accept a low cost offer after the long drawn out horrible response thinking you are desperate.

I had an issue with my stovetop downdraft. Originally, I encountered some problems and filed a claim through American Home Shield. The claim submission process was smooth—it was straightforward, and I could easily add the necessary details and information like the contractors' names, address, and phone numbers. The contractor, A and H Services LLC, contacted me minimally, but they came prepared. Once they arrived, their professionalism shone through. They communicated effectively and decided to replace some parts of the stovetop—addressing the issues although not fully resolved yet. They've done a thorough job, as the performance is better now, but there's some work left for completion
At this point, I expect further visits to finish the task they started. While American Home Shield is efficient in sending people for diagnoses quickly, an area for improvement could be the costs involved, although I'm not majorly complaining. If asked by someone close, I'd recommend using their service as it stands out for reliability in dispatching assistance promptly.

We bought this house in July of 2018. The owner bought the first year worth of American Home Shield in order to omit an inspection. That way, we would have that in case anything was needed. We liked it and I've kept it ever since. I've liked its affordability and straightforward use. Submitting a claim is relatively easy. I just have to call in, sometimes needing to navigate an automated system before speaking to a live person. When we needed our air conditioning inspected for summer, I set up the maintenance without any hassle. The contractor was prompt, polite, professional, and worked efficiently.
The service overall has been positive, offering necessary maintenance at a reasonable cost. However, I recall one issue a few years back when I didn't call early enough in the summer. The appointment was delayed for air conditioning repair, prompting me to hire a separate technician. Besides that instance, American Home Shield has delivered good service. I tell friends and family it's a beneficial service if you're a homeowner. Although there was one hiccup, I generally find it worthy, especially when things run smoothly.

American Home Shield has been great and does quick service. Also, the coverage is good. There was a leak from the bathroom upstairs, through the ceiling to downstairs. I asked the plumbers to check. They originally would cut the ceiling to check the pipe above the ceiling, but I said, "Can we try to do something on the water drain in the bathroom first?" The tech said something there was loose. He tried to seal that and see if that fixed it. He said if it was not fixed the next day, to let him know, and he would come back to cut the ceiling to check the pipe inside the ceiling. That sealed the water draining from the bathroom.

When I bought the home, American Home Shield was here. It was already included in the contract from the previous owner. I've had the service for over three years now. Unfortunately, my experiences have been less than ideal. When I submitted a claim for my dishwasher's power source that wouldn't turn on, it took them three months to complete the repair due to the parts not arriving on time. The first technician was uncommunicative, though when a different technician eventually came, things improved slightly.
I've encountered issues with their approach to repairs, beyond just my dishwasher. Specifically, with my HVAC system. Although I've paid upwards of $500 for service calls, a lasting fix remains elusive. It's frustrating having to pay each time they come out, only for them to perform minor adjustments that don't truly solve the problem. Also, as someone on a fixed income, the costs for continual, partial fixes are burdensome.
Overall, I think American Home Shield could improve in sensitivity towards customer concerns and their follow-up on unresolved issues. Although they cover major appliance repairs, they often suggest replacing significant systems, like my HVAC, but won't act until they're entirely unworkable. For those also experiencing such problems, it seems the only resolution may come when one's unit completely fails.

I settled on getting a home warranty from American Home Shield about four years ago. I've generally found their services adequate, but my recent experience was quite frustrating. In late December, I had a heating issue during the winter, which is critical. A service provider originally came out and proposed a solution that required ordering parts. While waiting, there were some weather delays due to snow and fog, which was understandable. However, communication stalled afterward.
I repeatedly reached out to both the provider directly and American Home Shield to schedule a follow-up, and each time, they promised an escalation that didn't result in any action. It took multiple calls until I finally connected with a customer service representative who cared enough to resolve the issue; they eventually sent out a new supplier. The first provider's solution ended up being incorrect, but fortunately, the new supplier fixed it, though it took nearly three months in total to resolve the issue. This prolonged back-and-forth, combined with the runaround from American Home Shield, left me disappointed.
While I've been with American Home Shield for roughly three to four years and have noticed service costs rising over time, this recent ordeal made me rate my experience around a three out of five. Despite these hiccups, I’m hopeful things will be smoother should I need assistance again.

I had an experience with American Home Shield due to an appliance issue. The process took several months because the company they sent initially misdiagnosed the problem multiple times. At first, they thought it was the door, and after a couple of visits, they realized it was the motherboard. Once they correctly identified the issue, they replaced the motherboard, and everything was well again. I had American Home Shield address an issue with my stove. The dial wasn't functioning correctly—it could turn high or low, but the temperature would be erratic. The technician who came out was pretty knowledgeable. Although he initially just performed an inspection and mentioned that parts needed ordering, there was a significant delay due to receiving incorrect parts. This extended the repair process to about four weeks, which I found quite inconvenient.
Ultimately, the stove was fixed, and now everything is working well. My only concern was the time it took for the repairs to be completed due to the part issue. While I don't have any additional comments specifically about American Home Shield, I would rate the service as a 4 out of 5 due to the delay. Nonetheless, my experience was positive overall, and I would continue using their services.

I had a problem with my main drain line. The drain line was clogged, and I initially called American Home Shield to handle the problem. They sent a contractor, Mr. Rooter, but their equipment seemed inadequate, and the issue wasn't properly resolved. They didn't do anything the tech just left it like it was. He said a pressure machine would be needed but that AHS wouldn't cover those. He was also talking about another $450. I wound up needing another company to actually clear the line entirely.
While American Home Shield has been useful, especially if they dispatch the right contractor, there have been shortcomings. In instances like my pool pump failure and sewer backup incidents, I ended up spending on deductibles for issues I believe could have been handled differently or more consistently covered by them. They also didn’t cover a leak deemed within the walls, which seemed odd since the wall is part of the house, in my opinion. While I wouldn’t rate them a five out of five, I can see value in certain circumstances, partly why I keep the coverage and also have another house under their protection. But it’s frustrating to see my costs gradually increasing.

I've been with American Home Shield for about two years, and so far, my experience has been positive. My most recent service request was for a tune-up on my AC before turning it on for the season. They inspected it and informed me that a specific liquid inside the AC, whose name escapes me, was low. The service team promptly addressed this and fixed it. Now, it's running well, though the real test will be during hotter weather.
I usually handle claims by calling their customer service, which I find to be respectful and problem-free. I really like American Home Shield for their responsiveness and haven't encountered any issues thus far with their service.
The pricing seems reasonable, although we didn't delve deeply into specifics during our conversation this time. Overall, I'd rate my experience highly and would recommend them to others.

My latest experience involved a service call for my air conditioning unit, which was making an odd noise. Although, frustratingly, the noise disappeared when the technician arrived, the individual was knowledgeable and courteous throughout the visit. My dishwasher was making a lot of noise and something was clearly malfunctioning. Submitting the claim through their website was quite easy and after doing so, I received a text message with the contractor's name and contact details. Clutch Appliance Repair came out to assess the situation and the tech was knowledgeable and effectively communicated the issues and solutions. They ended up replacing the motor in the dishwasher, along with making some repairs on my microwave and refrigerator's filters, which was a relief.
However, my experience with American Home Shield hasn't been perfect. There was a time when my microwave took over a month and a half to get fixed because they were allegedly waiting on parts. It was frustrating because they initially mentioned they'd replace it if repairs took too long, but they didn't. Also, although the coverage seems decent, it doesn't make sense that they wouldn't fix a leaking valve outside the house, claiming it isn't covered because it's outside. In terms of cost, the service's price has increased significantly, and I’d likely recommend looking elsewhere to friends and family.

It wasn’t until earlier this year that I decided to go with American Home Shield after hearing about their perceived comprehensive coverage. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite meet expectations. When I had an issue with the plumbing, AM Plumbing came out and did a respectable job. But I was left with the entire bill. American Home Shield didn’t cover a thing, even after reaching out to them. The disappointing part was the communication; someone from American Home Shield just conveyed that my particular issue wasn't covered.
I've switched between several companies before due to similar reasons. I remembered years ago, the deductible with them was much more manageable but now, although I pay regularly, believing I’m covered, it feels as though very little actually is. The response when I contacted them about this claim took quite a while – definitely not the next day.
While I acknowledge my monthly payment is fair in theory, the circumstances leave me dissatisfied. Hopefully, during my upcoming HVAC check, I won’t face the same issues. Communication and follow-up are vital, and should my situation improve, I'd certainly reconsider my stance. But as of now, the phrase "we cover everything" feels misleading in my experience.

Sears came out to fix an appliance under my plan with AHS. They got the job done effectively, and everything has been working well since then. I appreciated that they managed to resolve the issue efficiently.

I found myself dealing with my washing machine issues and called in American Home Shield. JB Electric was the initial technician who came by but unfortunately, the fix didn’t quite stop the machine from jumping during cycles. After some time, another technician was sent out, who seemed to understand the issue much better. He ordered and installed better equipment, which improved the situation. Even with just about six articles of clothing, sometimes the machine still jumps, which is something I'm keeping an eye on. I appreciated the second technician's effort; he was thorough and explained everything nicely. American Home Shield and their team did their part by sending someone capable.

My dryer had ceased to function altogether, prompting me to submit a claim through AHS. A technician from Bay to Bay Appliance came to address the problem. I found him to be competent and personable. While the initial visit showed that some parts needed to be ordered, the entire process was finished in a timely manner and met all of my expectations.

My toilet started leaking severely, and I needed it reset. Despite wishing for quicker service, the response time from American Home Shield was around three days, which we eventually found satisfactory.
We've had American Home Shield's coverage at our current home for two years, and we had them before at another residence, so we're familiar with their service quality. Over the years, I've noticed some changes in their policies, but we've consistently received excellent service, which keeps us coming back.
My experiences with their service requests have been diverse, utilizing both online and phone options. This time, however, we opted to call as the toilet leak was quite severe. Overall, I'd describe our experience as very favorable. If asked by friends or family, I'd definitely convey my satisfaction with their service.
In terms of customer service and service quality, they never fail to impress. What we pay seems fair, especially considering the quality and promptness of service. Managing requests online has also been seamless.

We've had American Home Shield for many years and they're fine. When we were having problems with our refrigerator, we did a claim online and it was very easy.
The technician sent by American Home Shield was impressive and we only have praises for him. He was very knowledgeable and timely in terms of making the fixes.

For the most part, I'm okay with American Home Shield, but sometimes, communication could be a little better. I go on to the dashboard to try to figure out what's going on. For instance, my ongoing issue with my refrigerator has been dragging on for 5 or 6 weeks now, without a resolution. This has been frustrating, especially when a service person almost closed the claim on me even though they haven't been able to find what's wrong with my refrigerator. Luckily, a recall was eventually put in place, but communicating effectively with the contracted service people can sometimes be challenging.
On the bright side, American Home Shield has shown openness to resolving issues. Still, I’m hopeful for a resolution without needing to switch service providers. I'm almost at my $2,000 limit, which I understand is all that they'll pay per claim, that I'm just gonna go with it. Hopefully, it'll turn out okay, and if not, I'll speak up.
