The claim for the water heater ended up being fine. We got a new water heater and we're all set up. For the other claim, a contractor came and fixed the garage door that wasn't opening and closing correctly. It worked for about a minute after they left then it started having problems again. We called them out again and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. We're almost thinking that we have to call another garage person, not one through American Home Shield.
In the past years, American Home Shield has replaced appliances for us and I don't have any problems. Some of the home warranty companies are looking for a way to wiggle out of paying for something but I don't find that American Home Shield does that. However, there have been a few companies that they've connected with, like this garage door company, that haven't been able to quite fix the problem. This isn’t on American Home Shield, but I have a refrigerator that is a mystery to every warranty company over the years. It leaks a little puddle of water periodically on the floor and nobody can figure out why. But it's been other home warranty companies that I've been with before American Home Shield also, so I keep paying a $75 deal every year.

I've had American Home Shield several times for different houses. I've tried to use them before and the claims have been denied for menial reasons, which is kind of ridiculous. But I understand that when a claim is made, claims reps and whoever else is involved have to follow the verbiage. The thing that's lacking is notification to customers of what is actually covered and not covered. When you go into the policy and try to understand that, if you don't know how to read a policy, you don't understand what's going on. The doc pages are too hard for the normal person to understand. One would think that this should be covered and he'd go ahead and pay the money upfront before even talking to anybody. Then somebody would come out and say that it's not covered. That's wrong.
Paying for the service upfront is a practice that needs to be changed. If a company comes out and finds something that's a cause of our own doing, and even if they fix it, we should owe the service fee, period. Also, when customers don't understand the verbiage, AHS shouldn't be charging them to tell them what the policy is. There should be somebody that goes through that policy with them so that that person doesn't pay 100 bucks for no reason and waste two weeks waiting for somebody to come out. I'm a claims adjuster and being in the insurance field, that's my job. As far as this type of insurance, I don't know if that's a requirement. The way their internal policy is written and how they do claims are wrong.
Recently, the AC stopped working for no reason. It's a newer unit, so it was odd. The young fellow that came to look at it was here for quite a long time. He did his due diligence and he found it was just a little bitty $10 switch. He didn't have it so he had to rig my unit so that it would work. The company ordered a part and scheduled it to be put in. I waited about a week or so. I got a call from them, told me that the part came in, but it was damaged. It's 95 degrees outside and my AC is not fixed. I'd like it to get resolved. The company that they hired has been keeping me informed, so that's good news.

Submitting claims is a little tedious but it was never like this. With COVID and everything, maybe things have changed. When we first bought the house, it was during COVID but the response was a lot quicker and they were upfront with everything. Now, it's gotten really delayed. For instance, with our dryer claim, the parts were like a week to 10 days to get in. Also, they shipped them without having our name on some of the parts and they got shipped somewhere else. Then, when the guy came out to fix it, he couldn't do much with the dryer but he got it working for a little bit.
We called American Home Shield to try to expedite the parts because they shipped them incorrectly and they wouldn't do that. My wife had to call several times and they promised that they would call her back and they never did. But the parts arrived and I think they're scheduled to come out tomorrow. Other than that, American Home Shield has a good contractor database. Everyone that has come out, whether it's for air conditioning, the washer, or the dryer, has been phenomenal.

The motor in the AC has died and needed to be replaced. I had to wait a week for the tech from Bast Heating & Cooling to check on it and regrettably, that part wasn't covered under the warranty. But the guy gave me a good price on it and was able to send one of his guys back that very same day to come and fix the unit. I was pleased with the results and their service.

Technicians came on Friday before Memorial Day weekend. Our air had been out maybe a week and a half because we had to get an appointment. Once they came and fixed it, it was good for three or four hours then it went out. We had to wait another week and didn’t get a tech back out until after Memorial Day so it was a rough holiday weekend with no AC in our house. We couldn't call until Tuesday because it was a holiday and we got an appointment for Friday. We're okay now and the AC has been working fine. American Home Shield seems to be a great service. They do what they can do. You only pay 100 bucks to get your AC fixed. We started with American Home Shield and paid 36.99 a month. But it's 52.99 a month now.

It's been very easy for me to get a reservation or put in a request online through my American Home Shield login. I made the request this morning for the downstairs unit and within a matter of seconds, I already had someone put to that case. The quality and the service have been very good. The contractors ask me the questions as to what seems to be the issue, and I tell them. They seem to go out and fix it. They let us know what the issue is and tell us to let them know if we have any other questions or if there are any other issues that come up.
I've had the upstairs unit serviced twice. I was having the same issue both times. The first time, the thermostat was saying that it was on but it wasn't signaling the downstairs unit to turn on. The first guy fixed that so the connection was better but it wasn't cooling down. A second guy came out and looked at it. He did something different. He put some sort of machine to it to tell him what was wrong with it. The first guy did not do that. Something had blown and the second guy was able to fix it. He told us that we needed to make sure that we were updating our filters so it didn't blow. Since he came, the upstairs unit has been working great. It takes no time to get the upstairs cooled up.

Our salt cell stopped working so he had to come in and put a salt cell in. He showed up in the front door, knocked, said he would look at it. He came back and said, "Your salt cell is toast," ordered another one. He thought it would take much longer than it did, came in a week later, he had it installed within moments and was out again, so it was perfect.
We had a dryer that went out and it was misdiagnosed multiple times. Two months without a dryer. Luckily, we had a condo at the time, so we were going to our condo. And then the other thing was the same thing with the dishwasher. It's almost like a game, like who can outlast each other. That to me is problematic. In their business model at some point, if you get tired enough of waiting, you're just gonna buy it yourself, not knowing what is going to happen. But I'm a patient guy, so I waited out. I've had other family members that use American Home Shield have had similar experiences, and oddly enough, it was a dishwasher. They had to wait it out for three months. Some different things like the AC, they're prompt. But when it comes to things that you don't have to have like a dishwasher, it seems like it's a foot-dragging to see who can outlast each other.
If you got multiple furnaces on your pool, they don't cover that. So you need to be careful about what you read. It was told to us that all equipment was covered. All in all, I'm not leaving AHS. They do a good job. I'd tell people to jump on them as quick as they can. It's a good safety net with something like your AC breaks and you don't have $3,000 to fix it, they can come in and fix it and you only have to pay the co-pay.

American Home Shield did really well with my claim. My pool needed a part on the filter. The techs replaced it, cleaned everything up, and set new grids inside. But, I'm not getting any satisfaction whatsoever with another claim through my friend that I'm handling. My friend's dishwasher died and she called it in to AHS and paid the money. The techs came out and said they needed to order parts. That was in February and we still don't have a dishwasher. It's been the same thing over and over again with customer service. I wait it up but it never gets resolved. There’s a policy that if they don't have our stuff in within 20 days, we get a new item. At this point we're entitled to a comparable dishwasher. AHS should be reaching out to me to resolve this, not me reaching out. It shouldn't take three months to resolve the simple issue of replacing a dishwasher.
We do appreciate you sharing your feedback and providing your experience thus far. We do apologize for the delay in the repairs and would be more than happy to assist with a resolution. My name is Robert and I will be assisting you further.

I bought a home in December and purchased American Home Shield. Six months later my ac froze over so I called them. I paid 100.00 and they dispatched a technician. The technician said the coils need to be cleaned. American Home Shield denied my claim because they said, "the repair is not due to normal wear and tear". I find this to be crazy as they pay for freon and other maintenance issues. From their response I am guessing they would prefer to pay for new coils rather than maintaining the existing coils. I am not sure...but I am not happy with American Home Shield.

I'm going to end my contract with American Home Shield this year. I am not pleased with their service at all. I called them for an air conditioner fix. The first tech that came out appeared very unskilled. The majority of the time when someone comes out, they knock on the door when they're coming in and out and things like that. But there was no communication to me. Then, he told me that the unit needed Freon and that it was $115 per pound and I needed to pay him $315. But he later said I needed four pounds because he had put the nitroglycerin to test the leak and he needed to refill the whole thing. I told him that seemed expensive and he said he needed me to hurry up because he was busy and he had other clients he needed to see. I told him he could go ahead and leave because that's expensive to me and when I googled how much it costs for Freon, the most that cost them is $80.
I called and I left a complaint. This was Saturday, before the three-day weekend. I anticipated that it would be Tuesday before I heard anything from AHS. I called them on Tuesday morning and the young lady who answered the phone said that the contractor had not given them any of the details. They could not get the claim put back in the queue for a second opinion until they knew what the first issue was. I proceeded to explain to them that I had a 75-year-old mother living with me. I'm in Texas and it's a little warm. I said I will just pay another $75. It didn't matter to me. She told me to call back that afternoon. She said she would reach out to the contractor to see if they have given AHS what they need to put the claim back in the queue for a second opinion.
I called back that afternoon and they still didn't have anything. The rep said I had to wait till the following day because there was nothing they could do until they got what the issue was from the original contractor. I waited until the next day and I called them. I called three times that Wednesday. Finally, that Thursday, they said that what they heard was I refused to pay for the Freon. I let them know that it wasn't just a refusal to pay for the Freon. One minute the guy told me that I needed three pounds, then he said I needed four pounds. $500 just seems excessive.
The rep said she would see if a team of people at AHS will agree to allow me to have a second opinion and have someone else come out. I asked her to kindly write that I don't care about paying another $75. I'm not going to pay the first contractor. His story was too flimsy, he did not leave me an invoice, and he was very rude to tell me I needed to hurry up because he had other clients that he needed to proceed to see.
I asked to speak to a supervisor but she said there was no supervisor available. I told her I was frustrated. I had made seven calls, I pay a monthly fee, I had already paid $75 once, and it has been over a week and I still have no air conditioning in my home. I was rude to her and I apologized but I had no place of escalation. It was so frustrating trying to make sure that my mom was cared for. Finally, they told me that a second opinion had been approved for me.
They sent out Tanner and he was a godsend. At that point, I was in tears trying to explain to him. I didn't know what I was talking about. I didn't have an invoice and I didn't have anything from American Home Shield that could help him in his diagnosis of my air conditioning system. When he was testing the system, he did not know that nitroglycerin had been put in the system. And that was a very key thing for him to know so that his testing of the system was accurate. I showed him the notes that I saw from American Home Shield and what the first tech said.
Then, he went back and he said that the items of concern I expressed to him did not appear to be wrong. And that it doesn't look like I need the Freon like that either. He said that he would fix what he could and that I have 60 days from that day. If what he's done is not accurate, he said to tell American Home Shield to send him back out so that he can fix it. He fixed the issue he saw and I haven't had any problems since then.
But I'm not going to continue my service with American Home Shield. If this is how they treat people when they're at a time of need, that's horrible. I should not have had to make seven calls and I expressed to them that I had an elderly person in my home and they could have been more concerned. Also, if a contractor that they have sent out was not a positive experience, that could be investigated.

My refrigerator stopped working as well as my freezer. Neither one would get cold. I told American Home Shield that about that and they scheduled Atomic Tech to come out. They came, were friendly, and kept their mask on when they were in my house, which I appreciated. They kept up with me with a text message. They said to give the refrigerator a few days to see if it would cool down. They needed to replace some kind of temperature sensor. They did that but it didn't work. Atomic Tech came back again. They said that the compressor was bad and that they would have to talk to American Home Shield to see if they wanted to repair it. About a week later, I got an email from American Home Shield saying they were not going to repair the refrigerator and they were gonna set me up for a new one. But the only refrigerator they had available that would have been free wasn't available so I opted to get a more expensive refrigerator.
I told American Home Shield which one I wanted. The whole ordeal took a month. They could have been faster. That aside, the new refrigerator is working. Immediately after that, I got an email saying that American Home Shield was increasing my monthly payment. That was less than ideal. I've been paying this for years and all of a sudden when I have a claim, I have to pay more. But it was okay.

When my AC kicked on, it was making noise in the unit itself. The tech looked at it and said all it needed was a small part. However, it still didn't work. He did some more research and came back out and said there was a loose wire on the inside of the furnace unit that connected the furnace to the AC. It didn't take him five minutes after he found it.

With my recent claim with AHS, the leaking stopped which is good. What could have done better was if the tech could have done it the same day ’cause he had to come back the next day. We provided him what was going on and what the issue was. From what I understood, once I gave the signs and symptoms, they would come prepared with what they need. I was assuming they were gonna fix it the same day. But that left us a night without water ’cause he had to turn off the water source. But they were professional and very communicative. They also didn’t leave a mess. AHS has been professional too. But when you try to file a claim online with AHS, it doesn’t seem very specific. Things like the categories when you make a claim are pretty general. They should make their online claim more user-friendly.

It’s fairly easy submitting a claim to AHS and the only hesitation we have sometimes is the technical company to come out and address the issue depending on scheduling. But we don't typically have too many problems as far as having someone come out and repair the problem. We've not had more than two issues in the time we've had AHS, with having the issues addressed in a timely fashion and professional method. Their coverage and price are reasonable. Pay the service charge and just wait for a phone call.

A couple of years ago. I wanted to cancel my $100 payment to American Home Shield and I was put on hold from 45 minutes to an hour. Nobody ever picked up. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and I ended up hanging up. My wife who used to work in customer service told me that's what they do. They put customers on hold until they wear them out.
Also, AHS also doesn't necessarily cover everything. They have quite a few loopholes on what they won't cover. For instance, they'll cover the lifting machine of the garage door but they won't cover the spring. Also, if the dishwasher would go out, they would cover it unless it had rust. They get customers on those little things. If I would spend $6,000 on a brand-new washer and dryer and that went out, they would get me a fair market value one that's not the same washer and dryer. But the guy who came out for my garage door wasn't the most helpful. But, I have the number of the tech from Prayco Plumbing and he's the one I'll always call if there's something. I've been impressed with that.

I needed a service for active water in the sink. I've tried every product and I didn't know where to go into the plumbing, instead of getting on the roof. AHS sent out a tech and he snaked it. He did a good job and he was the best plumber I've ever seen. He was personable, knowledgeable and quick. He listened to me, too. He could cut me off a half dozen times, but he didn't. And he explained that he really couldn't get up on those tracks on the road. He said they were not allowed to do that and it made sense. It didn't get closer to the problem anyway. I thought about snaking it there and I would have broken the pipe.
Aside from that, we've got a new dishwasher and a new garbage disposal courtesy of American Home Shield. Plus, one other drain problem was solved. The benefits of having AHS are immeasurable. You're paying your money right along and it's just such a peace of mind, but whenever you have a problem, you lay out that 75 and it's handled. I love their commercials, too.

A home warranty company is a single roof under which they've got experts from so many skills. It will be a very big advantage for us to go through such a program because we don't have to keep checking who is good and what are their credentials. It's all properly vetted by American Home Shield and that's the reason why we chose them. I recently had a smoke detector issue and a technician checked the problem and replaced it.

T & J Investment came out for an electrical issue and they ordered a part. They were supposed to come back but they did not show up. Then, they rescheduled for 7th July without notifying us. We've been without usage of the microwave for a month. Yesterday, I tried to get in contact with a T & J representative and came to no resolution. I just have to wait until 7th July.
But AHS backs up what they say. I had a hot water tank go down and they replaced it. The only thing that I had to come out of pocket was about $200 compared to paying $2,000 for a new one. We've had other home warranties before and we never got the service AHS provides. I recommended two of my friends and they're satisfied with it as well.

I like AHS's cost. But your air conditioning goes out and they only pay for three pounds of Freon. I had an AC problem and they ended up charging me an exorbitant amount of money for Freon. Also, there were times where it's taken forever to get through to them and then you got transferred from one department to the next.
Then, one time, I had an issue with the refrigerator and one person came out twice and didn't fix it. Then they had to get another person from another company to come out and he couldn't fix it. The contractors should be able to come out and fix an issue the first time and not have to keep coming out over and over again. But I like that they try, where they would get different people involved. And I like having the company because it secures my peace of mind. If they weren't around, we wouldn't have a company that could at least try and help us once in a while, even though we may have to climb the ladder sometimes to get additional help.

I'm pleased with American Home Shield in some aspects, and some, I’m not. I had a service call put out in January regarding a microwave and this was the second or third time that it was the same issue with it. We paid the service fee. The contractor came out and fixed it. Within 60 days, the microwave stopped working again. I called and spoke to a representative at that time who was in the Philippines and explained the situation. He told me he would waive the service fee because it was within a short period of time. About a week later, I never received a call. AHS told me that the rep couldn't have said that. He wasn't authorized to do it. I explained that it was done. They were sorry for the inconvenience and that they would contact the person who did the repair and they would determine if it needed a replacement.
It went all the way up through escalation. I spent over six hours on hold on the phone to deal with the woman in the Philippines. She promised me she would call me the very next day. She never did. Two days later, I received an email from this woman in the Philippines who indicated to me that there's nothing that could be done. They could not reach out or receive the service report from the original contractor. So, therefore, I would have to pay the service fee again. I told her that she said she would call me back, she would resolve the issue, and that she would listen to the recorded call and hear that the man made an inference that I didn't have to pay the service fee again since I had just done that. She said she couldn't help me and that was it. I could not get any assistance from anyone in the US. I'm spending all this time emailing and corresponding. Nonetheless, the microwave still has not been fixed.
Then I had a problem with my air conditioning, so I called Home Shield and paid the $75 fee. I had this nice company come out called Doctor Cool. Within less than 24 hours, I received a call at 7:30 in the morning saying he could be out within four hours. The guy came and spent a lot of time looking at the unit. He told me that after evaluation and checking temperatures, he realized that it was a Freon issue, which was not covered by Home Shield. I spent another 600 and plus dollars to resolve that. The air condition has been working great. I've had no problem with this company. They were very professional and reputable.
But Home Shield's call center is horrible. They don't listen. They talk over me. Nothing that they say can be trustworthy because I'm waiting to hear back from them and they tell me that they're looking into one thing. By the time I finally got back to the lady, she never even addressed that issue. I would like a number from somebody I could speak to in the US so I could get my issues addressed. Also, my service requirement went up. From $50 a month, now I'm paying $53 a month and I'm never late on paying it.

I have six policies with AHS and their claims process is okay. I don't have to look for a technician. Before I had AHS, I was always searching for a technician who is doing a good job, on time and reasonable. Now, I don't have to worry about it anymore. If something happens, I just put in the work order and somebody will be out. I'm satisfied with the technicians but it would be nice if I didn't always have a different one when I have issues, especially in the same area like with plumbing. I have a lot of issues with plumbing and always getting a different plumber is difficult when you're trying to communicate because you have to explain to people over what you're doing. Also, I had an AC unit serviced and I had to pay for freon. That wasn't covered with the service. Another thing is their customer service providers are in another country. There were some noises going on with our air conditioner. It was cutting on and off. We called American Home Shield for service. This was the third time I used the warranty and customer service answered fairly quickly. They gave me the information that I needed and the follow-up was excellent. When I called back because I hadn't heard from them, it turned out they had called my home number. I was looking for them to call me back on my cell. Once we determined that, they sent me an email.
Technicians were out in record time so I was extremely grateful since the heat was picking up nicely. The service was very professional and the problem was very expeditiously taken care of. I was pleased that they had masks on and they wanted to know if they needed to remove their shoes. The tech had someone with him shadowing him. They explained everything such as whatever issue they found. I was very extremely satisfied because the tech explained what needed to be done before doing it. He got in and got out in record time. It’ll be nice if American Home Shield's website had general questions, like what do you do if you're missing power or if an outlet doesn't work, they could provide little tips and tricks for that. For my recent claim, I didn't have power to my outlet on one side of the house and I didn't know I had two GFIs. I knew I had one, but it was located in the basement. And I wouldn't have thought to look down there to find it and just press the button. In the end, pushing the GFI button solved majority of my problems.
It also seemed like two of my switches had a short in it and the service guy said it just got wore out. So I paid $100 service fee for something that could have cost me 10 bucks for two switches, and him telling me about the other GFI. But he was nice about it and there was nothing he could do. If it was worse, I would have felt better about the whole deal, but I'm glad it worked. Other than that, the service guy that came out was timely, nice, and really informative. It's just that my issue was fairly simple.

The microwave was not working. If you had a glass of cold water and you put it in there for two minutes, when you took it out, it was still cold. I called the American Home Shield number, picked the menu that best suit me and told them the problem. I got a message saying who American Home Shield was sending out. That company called and told me when they were coming. Luckily, they were able to come on Memorial Day and I was here then. The tech called me up but I missed his call and I called him back. He said he was still coming. He came out to me quick and was very professional. He tested the microwave. He put water in there, waited two minutes and confirmed it was not working. I had given him the serial number and the model number so he had all the parts he thought he might need for it. They were the ones that he needed and he replaced them. Now it works. There was also a follow-up from both American Home Shield and the company that came out.
Right after we had that bad winter freeze, my air conditioner went out. I paid $100 for the person to come out and look at it. After they did that, they told me what they could do. I bought a new unit and financed it. The policy said that American Home Shield would pay up to $1,500 but they didn’t pay a penny. I called the company up and asked if American Home Shield gave a $1,500 discount. They said no. I called American Home Shield and they couldn't give me anything. It was almost like, “Legally, we can't tell you what we do.” I feel that I was taken advantage of $1,500.
The only reason I bought that plan was for an air conditioner. It was almost like they knew what they were doing going in. They were gonna do it. I was thinking I won't have to worry about the air conditioner 20 years. It seems like if it's a small appliance, they're ready to hop on that pretty quick. But if it's something bigger, it seems as if they just do what they wanna do. They’re gonna protect themselves. The only thing that would make me feel better is if American Home Shield was to send me a $1,500 check.

But then, I called American Home Shield back to express concern, and I finally heard from somebody from Mike's Clean Air later that night and they were out around midday the next day. The technicians were very nice. They told me everything they were doing. One of the technicians told me that there was a leak in it. So they fixed something and it was supposed to stop the leaking. He said the antifreeze was a little low, so he put a little of it after he fixed the leak. Everything went well.
I've had an experience with American Home Shield where I did have to say, "Okay, I've been a little patient. It's been four attempts. And this is the fourth one, your policy says three. Let's make sure that we're going to uphold that either you can, or you can't fix it and if you can't, you replace it." So they did go ahead and replaced that item. I've had a whole host of things go wrong recently. One was my washing machine. It was imbalanced so the cycle was shutting down. On 5/19, my service provider was All Valley Appliance Heating & AC. When their guy came out, he told me what the problem was and what was covered. He said, “This is normal wear and tear, nothing unusual. We'll order the parts.” I then got a call from American Home Shield and they said it was not covered and gave me the reasons why. That was unacceptable and I wanted another group. They then assigned the service provider Foster's Appliances. And they were excellent.
The tech had outstanding communication. The window for when he was gonna be here was shorter than usual. It wasn't six hours. He said exactly what was going on, what he found, and what he was gonna do. He told me he needed to order parts, which was gonna take time. The tech said exactly what the first guy said then added that it could be covered under my warranty. They would have to verify with a call. The tech showed up again when he said he was gonna show up. I'm fine with the fact that the unit got repaired.
My frustration with American Home Shield is I don't really understand what's gonna be included and not included every time I make a service call. You have your contract and there's verbiage in there. When a technician comes out, he'll tell you what's wrong and you wait for them to tell you that it's not included in the coverage. I would recommend American Home Shield if someone has newer equipment. The odds of it getting covered are higher than if you have much older equipment.

The company called me and let me know what date I’d be available. The service techs put on the shoe sock to keep them from dirtying up the area. Everything was done professionally. I was very satisfied and happy with the way they provided the service.

Every time I have a call, everything went well. When I call Home Shield and make my complaint, they'll say someone is gonna contact me, and normally, whoever's going to do the work does contact me. I have no complaints with the people that they send out to go do the job. Home Shield also followed up and kept us in contact when a part didn't come in and when it came in, they would give us a time that they were going to fix it.

I'm satisfied with American Home Shield. Every time I've called, my issues have been resolved. When I call back, they answer my questions. They tell me where everything's at, even when the vendor themselves don't answer calls or reply. My concerns are listened to. I've had a bad experience with one of the service providers and I called back and asked, "Can we please not work with them again on my house?” They said they'd make a note of that.
I recently had a plumbing issue and submitted the claim on a weekend. By Monday, a contractor had called me and already set up an appointment. They worked really fast and they took care of the problem in one visit. I would continue my contract with American Home Shield and recommend them to others, especially for homes that may have been out there for a decade or two, when things start to break a little bit.

The warranty is a little pricey, but at least I know that if something happens, they would take care of me. We use it almost yearly on the air conditioner. AHS has been really good about that. Also, they've fixed my furnace a couple of times and the hot water heater too. Scott Heating and Air recently came out for the AC and the guy was very professional. He asked us if we wanted him to wear a mask and we've been fully vaccinated so we said no. He did the work and it took 30 minutes at the most. Also, he told us what we could do to get the situation remedied ourselves but I don't want to play with the power that he said to unplug, then do something, and plug it back in. As long as I have somebody that can come out, I'm gonna continue to use them.

Ally Plumbing came out and fixed a pipe that had a hole in it. That was all great. I have another claim for my faucet and bathtub that are leaking. The valve under the sink where you turn the hot water and cold water on and off is leaking so it is damaging my vanity. I've been trying to get AHS to assign somebody to the claim and they did. Three different times, they assigned the same person and it was NW Sundance Services. They never came out nor did they call back.
All the reviews I've read on Yelp, Google, and everywhere about NW Sundance Services say that they suck. They can get out here in a month and I can't wait that long. It’s crazy. I started a service claim almost two weeks ago. I’ve called about 10 times to try to get somebody to come out here. I'm about to cancel my AHS because I'm sick and tired of trying to get somebody else out here. I'm getting fed up with AHS and the runaround. Every time I call, they say, “Sorry. I will make sure to put that in your file.” But they never do and I get reassigned to the same exact company.
NW Sundance Services supposedly tried calling me but I've not gotten a call or a message from them. I'm frustrated. It’s getting ridiculous because AHS took $100 from me for this service claim and it's still just sitting there pending for no reason because nobody's gonna come fix the problem. I requested Ally Plumbing but AHS said they can't request vendors anymore. I tried calling AHS earlier and they said their computers were updating. They told me to call in an hour or two.

He advised me of everything he was gonna be doing and he did it. It was super quick. It was a pump issue and he replaced the pump. He cleaned up after himself and I was happy with the service. I've been pretty pleased with American Home Shield. Recently, a contractor helped out with a couple of issues. They fixed the sprayer in my kitchen area and the pullout thing in the master bathroom. In the guest bathroom, the toilet wasn't flushing properly and they fixed that too. They also told me there are some other areas that I need to fix. The tech was nice. I had wanted him to wear a mask and he did.
My oven was rather old and the heating element wasn't working properly. One of the things that I do like about American Home Shield is that if they're not able to fix it, then you get a replacement. They'll tell you you have to pick a certain brand according to what's in their inventory. I had to pick an oven that would fit. Because my home was built in the 1950s, the ovens were smaller then. I had to do a little bit of work myself to make it fit but it worked out. Another thing I do like about them is that no matter how old the appliance is, you can still have warranties for it. For people that have an older home like myself, American Home Shield is a great thing in case something breaks down. You have that safety net. The only thing is the price.

However, when I first got American Home Shield, it was $40 for them to come out, but now, it's 75. But they include more coverage now.

She got American Home Shield's office involved and it finally got taken care of. But we were very happy with the last guy that did come out. He replaced the seal around the refrigerator. He had to order the part which took two weeks but he was quick and nice. American Home Shield had a special for an AC service. It was an AC check-up for $79. I booked that, and then never heard anything back. A week later, I booked it again, and then the same thing. Nothing happened. Those transactions got cancelled. I didn't get anything back regarding any cancelation. So, I assumed that that special wasn't going on even though there was a flyer on the website. After that, I just booked for a service to have my AC unit checked up, and that was when I got an appointment set for that. So, I was disappointed about that. Finally, after that third time, everything got checked up.
One thing, too, that was a little concerning was the technician. He was late. We didn't mind him being late, but there was no phone call or any text saying that he would be late. The time set for the technician to come by the house was from 2:00 to 5:00. And it was 5:20 when I called Rose Heating & Air and they said this would be his last stop and he was heading my way. My wife was at home waiting between 2:00 and 5:00, the whole time, for the technician to show up, and she was disappointed. She said, “If I knew he was gonna be late, I probably could have done something else, or got a couple of errands done back home.” But the technician was very knowledgeable. He said he has been doing it for 30 years. He knew exactly what was wrong. He did a good job on the repair and everything went well. He was friendly.

They just came out, fixed it and left. AHS has given me a sense of not being nervous over things breaking anymore because I am on a fixed budget. I only get social security. The technician that they sent out was very friendly. However, that was the end of the good part. The issue was not resolved and nobody seemed to really care that it wasn't resolved. They told us that we could get a second opinion. But if they agreed with the first, then it would cost us $100. So I'm still without an over the sink light and several plugs, an outdoor light, and some security cameras. At this point in time, if I were to have to look up some type of service, as far as some type of Home Shield type thing, I would look for another company. The guy did everything. The next night, it’s gone again. Then the house was hot again. This time, it was the motor. We kept hearing that squeaking noise. It won't go and the house was in the 90s. It was like killing us. It was going on and on. The young man even showed me. He said, “Look, you got enough Freon. I think it's that one wire that was there.” First, they thought it was the capacitor. Then it worked for about two days. Then I had to call back again. In the end, it was the motor.
The techs who came were excellent. They really research everything. I did appreciate that they found out what the problem was. I went away to Ohio, and my husband said the house was hot again. So that was when I called Home Shield from Ohio. The AAction people couldn’t come until after the holiday. We suffered for two to three days again. I came from Ohio and the house was so damn hot. I've heard various stories about some of the warranties so I was glad that that was able to get a replacement and AHS lived up to their word. I told AHS when I first got them that I didn't want any surprises and that I was depending on them because their warranty is expensive. I paid my $100 deductible but in order to expedite the water heater, I had to pay an extra 132 which did not make me happy. But, I would have paid 500 to get hot water.
Rather than letting the vendor order the needed part, AHS has to order it, notify the vendor and then the vendor picks it up. Lowe's was out of water heaters and they were backordered. We had to boil water for seven days. I called AHS and they said they were doing the best they can. American Plumbing said they had a unit at a local appliance store nearby so they asked that store to set aside one.

I had a issue a few years ago where American Home Shield didn't help me and I ended up dropping the service then I came back. They could ask more questions about simple things instead of just taking $100 and have somebody come out to do something so simple. There have been a couple of times where I have put in a claim, one was for the garage then the other one was for electrical and I paid $100 both times. The technician came out, pushed the button and everything got restored. It was a tripped wire. I was out $200 and in two minutes, the technician fixed the issue and was gone. American Home Shield could also have helpful tips section to help people troubleshoot some issues they may have instead of submitting a claim. The contractor wasn't able to come out for a full six days. I called on a Monday and they couldn't come out until a Saturday or it might have even been longer than that. That would have been concerning and when I called, I had to do it through an automated service. I wasn't able to go into detail. I was okay with that because there wasn't anything wrong with the air and I just scheduled a tune-up. But you would think that somebody would have wanted to gather more information because had that been an emergency or a 911 situation, if I didn't have air, I didn't have an opportunity to talk to anybody. Maybe I would have been able to push through to go get a person live. I didn't have to do that so I didn't but I was a little taken aback by that.
Everything is going automated and I know that we're having an issue with not having enough help, work and employees so that was probably an easy way to schedule. That was fine for something like taking a proactive appointment but if I had been reacting to an emergency or something in my home, I probably would have been a little irritated by not having a live person.
But the contractor was on time. He pulled up to the minute at the scheduled time and he let me know he was in route and if I wasn't there. He also made a phone call and I got a text. I may even gotten an email. It was beautiful communication. He came and he did what he had to do and told me that he had to order the part. But I haven't heard back about the part that he ordered or when he will be back. He told me that it would be a couple of days but that was Saturday and now it's Friday. So, I'm not quite finished with that job. They have some additional work that they're still doing. I shouldn't be in a situation where I need to call to find out where we are if it's been six days. So, I’m dissatisfied.

Then I recently had them come in to do a check-up on both of the air conditioning units we have and they did well on those. One of the fellows thought that there was maybe a leak. So he put a leak tester on it and then another guy came back in a couple days to see whether they were leaking or not, and they were not. So they did a good job. They’re pretty old units, so I was real happy that we're still in business for the summer.
I have two contracts with American Home Shield, one in Pennsylvania and one in Florida. They do a remarkable job. When something goes wrong in the house, like a washing machine or a refrigerator, American Home Shield has two or three different companies that come out to make sure that it's not working before they can give you the money for the appliance, half of it. You got to pay the other half. If your appliance doesn't work anymore and if they're going to get you another one, you have to go out there and get it yourself. They tell you how much they're going to give you. You go and purchase it then send your invoice and email them back but they don't follow up on it. You have to stay up on them in order for them to do what they need to do.
They have improved as far as when you need work done but the part when they have to refund you the money, that's the problem that I have, and I think other people have too. I had to buy a new washing machine and it took me from December 'til April for them to refund my money for it. You have to email them all this stuff two, three times and keep calling. But for the refrigerator, that wasn't too bad.

The only thing is it would feel good sometimes just to talk to a person once I initiate a claim. Initially, you talk to a person. Everything else is then handled through a text message. In this busy world, we don’t always think to constantly keep checking our text messages. Other than that, I would recommend American Home Shield due to the timely response and getting the problem resolved.
Irvin,
That's exactly what we like to hear. We are happy to know that AHS is beneficial to you. Thanks for sharing your warranty experience. Have great week.

I called in a claim about a water leak in my house. United Air Temp was assigned the claim. When they called me, they told me they will come out three days later. I explained that it was water leaking in my home and they said it was not deemed a priority ticket. I called American Home Shield back and said, “I don't know where the water is. I don't know where all it is exposed to, where the water is infiltrating in my home. I need someone to come out,” and was told it was not an emergency. I was extremely disappointed in that service.
By the time I finally got someone on the phone that could assist me and was willing to assist me and let me know that they could send someone out, the next day, I had already found my own vendor. I canceled the ticket and I paid out of my pocket. There had been other times where we have had poor service. But in the course of the time that we've been with AHS, the majority of our interactions have been positive.
Are you still in need of assistance?

American Home Shield has been awesome and I appreciate them. When things have broken down, they have been able to help us fix them even when they're minor or even major problems. It's very advantageous. They are really good about getting our needs to the correct people and they're very good about fixing things. It was our washer, our outlet and one other thing, and it was all very well done and timely. No one made or left a mess. Everyone cleaned up after themselves. Many of them also wore booties and if they didn't wear a mask, they informed me they were fully vaccinated. I'm very satisfied with my experience. I have recommended them to both my sister and my brother. We're both new homeowners.

The techs took care of the problem but the way they went about it leaves a lot to be desired. American Home Shield pays them so much money to do the repair, and Big Orange attacks on a lot of other stuff that's not covered. They kept saying that by codes, I have to have this and that, which was almost $700 worth of extra stuff. And I was stuck, because I had no hot water. They put in a 29-gallon tank and the receipt said 30-gallon tank. And that’s a big difference. I spoke to another plumber who doesn't work with American Home Shield and he said that all techs do that and it’s because they don't get paid enough from American Home Shield to do these repairs. Big Orange took a long time, too. It took me a week to get a hot water heater put in and they kept blaming American Home Shield, that they couldn't get the approval right away.
Other than that, usually American Home Shield is pretty good. You put a claim in, they assign a technician for it, and they follow up with it. But if they're covering the repair, they should cover the whole repair. If you had to replace something that, now, is out of code and has to be updated, then they should pay for that. But they don't. They have a big clause in there that says they don't pay for any upgrades. I had one other problem about four years ago with a washing machine and they finally took care of that. The technician that they sent out here didn't want to do the repair and AHS bought me a new washing machine.
Reviewed June 12, 2021
The techs who came identified what the issue was. They repaired the broken door lock on the washing machine, and removed the piece that had spun into the machine. It broke off and it went inside. They opened up, took that off, repaired it, put on new latch and then they advised me about the dryer and what it needed was to have the vent cleaned.
Sometimes, doing a service request to American Home Shield is easy. Sometimes, it's not so easy. I prefer to call because then I can explain what the issue is rather than trying to write it. So far, they've sent really good contractors who take care of the work. Sometimes the out of pocket cost is a bit high. Somebody came and they inspected our AC, and then they said what was needed. But then when we gotta pay 3,000 out of pocket, it's heavy to just take that on. We had to let that one sit for the moment until we can figure that out.
Patrecia,

The air conditioning guy was looking for the leak. He didn't find the leak for the freon but he was a very conscientious guy. He tried to do everything he could. He pumped in about seven pounds of freon and American Home Shield doesn't pay for it but $10. I'm trying to protect myself against something hitting me catastrophically. It's an air conditioning issue and American Home Shield got a restriction on the biggest cost of it all, other than the entire unit being replaced. I had to pay $75 to American Home Shield and $595 to the guy. It was unexpected $670 that I ended up paying to get my air conditioner back running again. I wasn’t real happy about that. American Home Shield is behind the times on that because freon has gone up so much. They use another antifreeze and it's $80 a pound.
I've had other claims in the past for other things and overall, I've been pretty happy about American Home Shield because I still have it. Otherwise, I wouldn't be paying. I pay about $1,500 per year for it. I expect that when time goes by and I need them, that they're available to me. For the most part, they are but there are a few little kinks in there that kind of drives me crazy sometimes.

The thermostat wasn't reflecting the temperature in the house. If we set it at 72, it would get no lower than 79. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield on a Thursday and it was assigned on Friday. I waited to see if the company was going to call me and after I didn't hear anything in the afternoon, I called the company. The rep said they didn’t have any appointments until Tuesday. It wasn't too terribly hot over the weekend, so it wasn't a big deal. I've never had an emergency situation but I don't know what would have happened if it had been 105 degrees and we had no AC on a Friday. For the most part, it went smoothly and the contractor fixed the AC. It seems to be working now. There were two gentlemen and one came in the house and went up in the attic to figure out what was going on. It was very informative, and they gave me some things that I probably should do. So, that was nice.
I would expect though that once the company gets the information from AHS saying they have a service call, the company should reach out to the customer versus the customer reaching out to the company. Also, AHS should have clearer terms as far as what’s covered. They will only cover a certain amount for Freon but you don’t know how much you need. It says it covers up to $10 per pound but if you have an older AC system, then the Freon is more expensive. People who have older homes may not have $20,000 to upgrade their system. So, they have the old system and it's working fine but low on Freon. They got to come out of $1,000 just to put Freon in it. At that point, AHS is only going to cover $100 of that $1,000. So, I might as well pay for it myself. Still, I’ve gotten decent service from AHS.

My recent claim was for the air conditioner that stopped working. A tech came on Saturday, pointed what was wrong right away and fixed it within half an hour. He was awesome. He explained things and gave me some hints. American Home Shield eases your mind. If something goes bad, instead of paying thousands of dollars for somebody, you just pay a deductible. I can go to sleep every night knowing if I break something major, I can call them and it will be fixed the same day or maybe the next day. I don't have to go get a loan to fix the house. However, an emergency number will be awesome. I live in the desert so if the air goes out here, it is a big deal. American Home Shield should have an urgent option for their customers.

As far as American Home Shield, they could answer the phone faster. I've been on hold for three hours from 3:30 till 6:30 one Friday night. That was ridiculous. I have to call them again because I'm moving, and so I need to make sure that I have to get the policy at the new place started, and this one at the current place canceled. I have to have hours set aside to be on the phone to call them. So, I'm not real happy about that.

One of my recent claims to American Home Shield was an easy piece of work because the oven had completely failed, so tee tech just needed to come in and confirm it. It couldn't be fixed. So, that was wonderful. AHS had to make it official. We talked over the phone. I knew the oven was broken, but we needed a professional to confirm that. He was fine. Also, the garage door people were great. They did a wonderful job and they were very personable.
I'm ready to scream with my oven though, and that isn't their contractors. It's HSA. This has been going on for like a month since Baldwin visited. I accepted their offer for their oven that they wanted me to take, and then they lost my acceptance. They finally got the thing here. It was delivered, but the guy who delivered it can't install it. So, I called them back and said, "That was just a delivery person. They are not installers." We went round and round for hours on the phone. Then they said, "All right. We're gonna assign Baldwin." So, he called me, and we talked. He said, "I can't do that work for you. They have to assign somebody else. That's not something in my wheelhouse." So, then we were on the phone again for another hour yesterday, and they said someone would call me back. No one has.
My oven’s sitting on the floor, and they won't install it. Then they're arguing that my home needs modification, it's my house that’s a problem. It's not a modification. The wires are sticking out of the wall. You hook the wires to the oven, you put it together and shove it in the wall but you need an electrician to do that or someone who's licensed as an installer. A regular person can't do that. It won't be code. So, they think I need special permission or it is my fault that I have a normal house. This is out of my pocket. They haven't even come to a conclusion yet. Every time we talk to somebody, it's like we're starting over. Nobody takes notes or they don't understand the notes they have.
If you wanna do something online as far as claims, it's fine. If you wanna communicate with them, it’s possible. You put it in. You're hoping that it works, but it doesn't always. My claim was put in for an oven. It was needing to be replaced, and they didn't process it. After two weeks, I called and said, “What's the deal?” They said, “Oh, it's still sitting in pending.” They had done nothing. The woman online was nice. She helped me pick an oven out that matched. Within 24 hours, I looked at what she sent me and accepted. Then again, it's been delay after delay. Overall, having American Home Shield is worth it, but it’s such a hassle. You’d think you could just turn it in and you'd be done, but it's hours and hours on the phone and weeks and weeks of delays. So, it's not transparent. It's awful.

My thermostat was really messed up because it's really old. It didn't cut off. Whenever it was working, you could have it on auto, have it on the set temperature, and it will still keep running that was why I had to turn it off by the breaker box. I called American Home Shield for it and it was wonderful with the contractor, Comfort First Heating & Cooling. They got in contact with me within a shorter period of time. They worked with me with my work schedule. One thing I liked about them too was they always updated me about what was going on. They did the thermostat and it did work for a day. But the same problem occurred where the outside or the inside wasn't coming on so they came back out and fixed it quickly.
American Home Shield is worth it for me and I will highly recommend them. It's affordable. My monthly payment is not that much and my deductible is wonderful. Me being a single mom of now six, I always don't have that expense, like with my AC. That would have probably cost a whole lot more money than I would be able to afford.

The AC started acting up on a Friday. We could hear the motor running but then it would stop. One day, I went up there and checked. I noticed the fan was not turning. I came back inside and told my wife. She said to turn it off so we did. I didn't want anything to happen like smoking. My wife looked it up on the phone. She said that was one sign of a bad motor or a connector. There were two other items that could possibly go wrong to cause that. It did say to get a long screwdriver and try to push it to get it started. I did that and it did start. But it did the same thing two hours later. We left it unplugged. It was a weekend so I didn't want to bother anybody.
The last claim that I had concerning the AC, American Home Shield offered that I should buy a window unit and they would refund me the money on that. I did and we held on to that window unit. We have it in the garage. This time, I did the same thing. I put it on the window. That kept us going until Monday came around. I reported the incident and the contractor called me back. The schedule was very good, except that I found out that you can call anytime. But what saved us is that we have a small window unit that we had previously gotten from American Home Shield. The first year we moved in here, the blower inside the house went out. I called the same person and unfortunately, she was on vacation so she couldn't help me. I told her that was fine and I would wait. Then I called the same number that I had previously called. They answered and helped me right away.

The overall claim process was pretty good. Once, I got a lazy technician who didn’t want to do the work. There was another one who didn't fix the faucet the way it should have been fixed. The faucet wasn’t long enough, so he didn’t replace it with the exact part that would have fit like it should have, which he should have came back to do. But when I called and asked for another person, AHS sent the same person out. Then they finally sent a different person and that person did the same thing. So it wasn’t satisfactory for me. The faucet is working okay. But if it ever breaks, I'll have water everywhere. There’s a gap in between where the tub ends and the faucet begins. It's about one inch that’s filled in with silicone.

There was a little L-shaped valve that comes out and it was right next to the front door of the house, and it was dripping. It wasn't flowing. So we had to put a little bucket there to capture water. This pressure regulator was not doing the regulation the way it was supposed to. When the contractor put the gauge up against there, it was 110 PSI. The normal here in California is about 60. So this thing was way high. The valve needed to be replaced because it wasn't doing its job about controlling the pressure. They replaced it and they did a great job.
After they left, I went outside and was kind of looking around and they left two of their tools there and one of their coffee mugs. So I called them back up and I told them about it. I also said that the pressure doesn't seem to be right in the home. So then they said they would be out at a certain time and date. Then they came out and got their tools and adjusted the pressure up to 80. It works fine now. They did everything that I expected them to do. They were upfront and honest. They wanted to impart what was going on and what was causing what. So they spent some time to educate me about what was happening so that I understood.
When I had a problem with a leak, the tech had to come in. We're on a flat slab here and to get in there, you got to do a little jackhammer thing. It wound up where American Home Shield paid $1,000 towards the work and I was left with a bill of 2,000 because they didn't cover the whole thing. Also, instead of the vendor telling you, “Oh, we've called we've contacted American Home Shield, and they say that they'll only pay for a certain amount, and then you are responsible for the rest. Do you still want us to do the job,” American Home Shield should contact the customer and say, “All right. We have contacted the vendor. This is how we've assessed it. This is what it's going to cost. This is what we will pay for and this would be a bill that you have that you would have to pay direct to the vendor."
I would much rather hear it from an agent at Home Shield than from the vendor. Then I know that I can trust whatever that assessment, how is it made, and was it provided to Home Shield. It would have also made me feel a lot more comfortable. But overall, I've been very happy with Home Shield. I still am and I will still be a customer.

We did a claim to American Home Shield for the toilet. The plumbing fixture was not attached on one side to the floor. Before he came, if we would get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, it was a little less worrisome. Now, there's no more rocking broncos.

I like American Home Shield but sometimes I have issues with the contractors. One was the electric company and the other was the garage door company. The two companies were blaming each other. One company would say, “No, this is correct.” and the other guy would say, "No, it's not correct." It was not a good experience. But the second guy was excellent. He explained everything and told me what the issue was. And he provided me his business card so the garage door company and he could talk to each other if the latter said they don't agree. However, I'm in the middle and I told them to call AHS and figure it out. Normally, they would resolve the issue but they went back and forth four times. It was annoying. AHS needs to be talking directly to their contractors, not to me. They should figure it out on their end.
Thank you for sharing your recent experiences with us. We are happy that we were able to get the issue resolved for you and we look forward to our continued business together. Have a great day.

One issue is it takes the contractors a substantial amount of time to be able to get authorization on a part. I called two weeks ago in regards to my washer and the contractor is waiting on authorization from American Home Shield to get a belt. It's only a $40 belt. But until they get the authorization, they cannot complete the repair. I'm having a pool party to celebrate Father's Day and I need my washer so that when people get out of the pool, I can put the items into the washer. It was the same thing with my refrigerator, It took the contractor three weeks to repair that because of the authorization and it was during the Christmas holiday. I didn't have a cold refrigerator.
Another issue is when I talk to the customer service representative, I can't understand them because they're all foreign. Also, when they put this ticket request in, it's always inaccurate. I always have to call back and follow up. I don't like the overall services. And they send you the wrong contractors. One time, I specified to the customer service representative I have well and septic. I spent $75 for a technician to come out and they said they don't work on well and septic. Why would they not research the correct company that services what I have? I will not be using AHS next year.

American Home Shield does great service. I recently submitted an online claim for my AC and they came out on the weekend and made time to help us get comfortable. That was an awesome thing.

My water heater was leaking. American Home Shield had one person slated to service the water heater and check it out. But as I did some research on the company that was coming, they had a lot of bad reviews on Better Business Bureau. So I reached back out to American Home Shield and they recommended another company. That company had come out before for my air conditioner and they were amazing. So they came back out again this time and they were amazing too. The guys were very nice. They replaced the water heater. I did have to come out of pocket for about 300 dollars, but the company that they sent was very good. American Home Shield handled the claim quickly. But they should try to look into the contractors that they have right now and make sure that they are all up to standard.

American Home Shield warranty is a bad idea. They only collect your money but no services. If anything is broken they patch it, and charge you 75 dollars plus every month services. (Everything temporarily and cheap material). Customer service sucks. Especially after COVID they trying to get more suckers. Please be aware.
We really appreciate you taking time to share your warranty experience. We do apologize that this request has caused you to cancel your warranty. Your feedback is important and we look forward to your possible joining the AHS team in the future. Have a great day!

Slow service, it may take weeks to get one service request solved. Read the contract! The people they send you to are not quality companies. No email to customer service and 30 min wait times for a phone call. If you have 2 plumbing issues, you have to order them separately and pay $100 for each service charge. Also they choose providers who are often times rude and very slow on service, right now I'm waiting for 2.5 weeks to get a garbage disposal installed and they already billed me the $100 for the visit.
Thank you for reaching out to us to provide your feedback and experience. We appreciate you being a valued customer of American Home Shield. We do apologize for the delay in communication in resolving your issue. We would love to speak with you more to discuss this matter. My name is Robert and I will be assisting you further.

Absolute nightmare of an experience. It is downright impressive how a subsidiary of a publicly traded company can be so incompetent in the one thing they are supposed to do – cover the repair or replacement of something that went wrong. In my case, the thing that went wrong was the AC unit just as summer is starting to get hot.
After they sent a tech out to examine the unit, a complete replacement was recommended, to which AHS agreed to. After this, you would think it would be as simple as ordering the unit and scheduling the install, but of course not. They apparently have various departments and levels of approval, they might as well be a government agency with the amount of bureaucracy, even the DMV is more efficient than this. After it was determined that the unit would be replaced, the automated system kept on saying "equipment on order" for almost two weeks straight. I was on the phone with them every single day and as of this review nothing has been resolved.
They keep bouncing back to the technician, saying the tech is responsible for ordering the unit. It was then determined that it wasn't the tech, it was actually AHS's responsibility. The order was recreated and even though supposedly AHS ordered the unit, they cannot locate any tracking info or other status as to where the parts are or how long it will take. After calling over and over, another representative from their Facebook page then said it's the technician's responsibility for ordering the parts! And so the circle continues. They offered a $100 reimbursement for a window AC unit as a result of this inconvenience which is not only a joke but downright insulting. Many times the reps say they need more time to research the issue and will call you back but surprise, surprise, they don't actually call back. If you are a current customer, pray that nothing breaks down because AHS is downright unreliable.
