Our air conditioner was leaking water. I submitted a claim online and the website was fine. We were then to be contacted within 24 hours. Fick's Mechanical was our assigned contractor and they did a great job. It turned out that there wasn't actually a hole in the pipe. There was a tank that had broken up so the water was backing up. They drained it. Everything has been fine since then. Now, I can operate my air conditioning unit without having water leak out. Overall, it's been a good experience.
I am happy that you were happy with your experience. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

Everything went well with our recent experience. I needed an electrician. I made my request to American Home Shield and they scheduled a person to come in tomorrow to take care of it for me. It was very smooth. Everything is working great as well and I haven't had any problem with any of the contractors over the years. They all have been great. I like the quality of the professionals that come out. I also like the timeliness, the scheduling and the problem resolution.

I had a plumbing issue where All Clear Plumbing came out and they did a great job. They were punctual and pretty easy to work with. They did everything they said they'd do from scheduling the appointment, contacting them, to the actual technician coming out and doing whatever he was required to do. The guy called briefly to let me know he was on his way and every aspect of the service went fine. They also wore face covering and each time a representative came, they were completely following all safety precautionary measures. They were also very respectful in terms of walking in with the carpet because they had portable disposable booties.
While they were performing the repairs, they explained why they were doing what they were doing in terms of how to solve the problem and how it was caused. So I couldn't have asked for any more than that. One of the items was the diverter and I got a lesson on it. I did a little research on it myself to try to figure out what was going on and they confirmed everything. Over time, hard deposits could get in there and it'll affect the way that you pull that little lever up to go from tub, water to shower overhead, which was where the main issue was. So, they went in, tried to clean it around, and replaced it because it had been there for quite some time. Everything's operational now and working smoothly. I'm more than satisfied with my experience. I also like dthat they were able to get into a time when I was most available, so those things worked out well.
I feel pretty comfortable with my AHS warranty. You pay your monthly premiums, then you pay your fee as required once they arrive and do their work. But also, there are a couple of things that I like about it. If I'm moving, I'm able to transfer that to the new owner, which I'll talk to him about later today when I meet him in closing. A person told me to do that I would need to have just his email address and name, so that was fine. Another aspect that I thought was very reasonable was when I made the order, I told them I had two different issues. But there were three issues and I forgot to mention the third issue that I needed them to check. And in that area, I called back realizing I had made a mistake, and I was very candid and honest about it. The lady I spoke to said that she was glad I called before the techs got here because if it wasn't on the ticket, then I'd have to call back.
So that helped my satisfaction with the overall process right there. They were very considerate and very understanding in all aspects of it. She just added it to the ticket and when the techs got here, they had two on their ticket but it was an easy fix. When I told the technician about the third issue, he turned around and contacted the company. Then the company said that they just forgot to put it on there but confirmed that I had three. So it got settled very quickly with a small phone call. So I was impressed with all aspects of this operation.
Our main objective is to provide exceptional service and a quick resolution to all of your home warranty needs. Your feedback regarding your recent experiences with us is greatly appreciated. We look forward to servicing you in the future as needed. Take Care.

We had a claim for the piping for the heater. We submitted it through the online, and then we received notification that a certain repair company would be calling us, which they did. They set up an appointment with us and then they came out. They didn’t have the parts on hand so they left and ordered those, then they came back and fixed the thing. We've been very pleased with American Home Shield.

The AC wasn't blowing cold and its repair was handled great. The first time the guy came out, he did an okay job. They couldn’t do it because they don't repair Mitsubishi Electric. So they recommended somebody for us that they knew. Then the second company that came out cleaned it up and took care of everything that the first company put on and charged. The second company just checked it all out and looked at it, and everybody was good. The AC is working great now. Having a warranty is a great idea and it's the best thing to get. The claim submission with American Home Shield was simple and easy.

The air conditioner was not running. Doing the claim to American Home Shield was easy. You just do online request. The contractor was very good and very professional. They repaired one thing, and it ended up not lasting another day, and then they repaired a second thing. And now, it's fine. They had to replace two pieces - the contact switch and the fan motor. American Home Shield did a great job.

We've had several problems with plumbing in our house. We've had plumbing companies that American Home Shield suggested to us and they have been awesome. When things didn't work out the first time they came, we called them back. They came back and we didn't get another charge. We had to call them back a third time for the same problem and the plumber from that company said that he had asked a master plumber about the problem we were having. He told us that we had too much pressure in our water system and this was causing the leak in our bathroom.
The plumber went above and beyond to have us call the city to see if we could get help from them. He also gave us the number of his company so we could talk to them about it. While we have not fixed the problem yet, we have identified the problem. American Home Shield has been great in terms of making sure we get a contractor quickly. We've also had a dryer company come out through them because our dryer was installed improperly. The tech sent went above and beyond as well. So far, we're happy with our AHS coverage.

American Home Shield has been a great program. I'm so happy that I was told about it and that I have it as part of the home purchase. It's really been incredibly helpful to me because there are a number of things that have happened. A pilot light went out, some bearing coupler had to be replaced and the rekeying service was also very helpful. I've had three uses of American Home Shield and found them to be very responsive. I've done claims both ways, online and calling in, but I find it easy to do online. Recently, A-1 Quality Care did a fantastic job on the AC unit. The filter on it was a little clogged and a little dirty. The guy opened it up and cleaned it. There was also a connection that he replaced and following that, it's been working like a champ.

The guy from Plumbers, Inc. came out and checked the AC. He checked what mostly goes out first and that was it. It was the fan motor. He left and came back in a week ‘cause he had to order a part. We happened to be home when he was here. He went out there, put it on, and it immediately came on. We were happy campers. He didn't waste any time. I signed the paper, got the receipt, and he left. He did a really good job.
I loved his professionalism 'cause he didn't come here to talk and hang out. I even offered him to come in 'cause it was hot outside. He said, "No, I'm good." I said, "You don’t want any water?" He said, "No, I'm good." He came and he did what he had to do. He wasn't here 15 minutes. If we ever needed somebody else to come, I would love for him to come again 'cause he just got right to the point and got it done. That's what I want. When I call out for somebody on my home warranty, I want them to come and deal with the problem and go. I don't want them to come and be lollygagging.
We had to call American Home Shield out for something else a couple months ago. When we first moved in, something was going on with one of the bathtubs. The water flow wasn't going. Their contractor came right in there, fixed it and was gone. American Home Shield has been very good. I don't like bouncing around all over the place trying to do something. If I find something that works, I'll stick with that. I don't wanna go here or there and shop around. If this works, I'm cool staying right here. American Home Shield is working so why go any further?

Sigmond Plumbing showed up. Two guys came, and they worked on both bathrooms. Everything was fixed very quickly. There was no mess, no fuss, and they wore masks and little slippers on their shoes. I submitted the claim to American Home Shield and it might have been like two days later that they came out. I was satisfied with the timeframe. Having American Home Shield has been very beneficial. I've tried other companies and they were not good at all. But with American Home Shield, as soon as you submit the claim, it seems like that day, the company that's gonna come out comes out and schedules the appointment. So, it's been good as long as you submit your claim online. I had to call because when I renewed, I got like two credits to use for the co-pay. The only way you could use those was to call. So, it would be nice if there was a way that you could actually submit a number or something online versus waiting an hour on the phone.

All Comfort came in a week earlier and they had to replace a couple of parts on the air conditioner, and they got it working. Three days later, both the unit in the house and outside were both working but there was no air coming out. So, we called them back. They came in and said that it was because it needed Freon, which was a little weird because they were here a week before and the Freon was just fine. They said that one of the hoses was leaking but it wasn't leaking the week before.
We asked the guys if it was possible that they could’ve loosened it. He said no. They added the Freon and we ended up paying for it but it got back to working just fine. It took a week before the AC went bad again but they got it working this time. So hopefully, we won't have any more issues, at least for a while. American Home Shield was very helpful. When the company could be here was out of their control but they got us set up and they got everything done in taking care of us as soon as it was possible.

I call my claims in to American Home Shield and they’re normally busy, so they’ll call me back. The technician from Kenbridge Plumbing & Drain came out and they initially worked out okay. However, I had to call them back a couple of times because they were more concerned with making sure that they were going to get the approval by AHS whatever the problem was. So, sometimes the contractor is more concerned with making sure they get paid than identifying the problem. I had four toilets and they replaced a couple of things in each toilet. All have been working fine but I had to call back twice on two of them. It left a bad taste in my mouth where they said that they don't fix noise. So, I said that we have to know where the noise was and if I knew where it was, I would do it myself.
When I called American Home Shield back, I said I flushed the toilet and they should listen to this and tell me if this was fixed or not. This was why I initially called them out. So, the contractor finally came back. They finally repaired that one but I had to call them back for another one because it was still running. So, this particular call took me too many times to get it working. Having to call back and having to look at it the second and third time was time-consuming. If the problem did not exist when they were here, then they wouldn't identify anything at that point or couldn't fix anything.

I was having a leaking faucet that I've tried to repair somewhat on my own and just wasn't working so American Home Shield sent Kintex Plumbing out. The gentleman was great. He came in and fixed it. The experience was very painless. I've used American Home Shield for several different things - some on appliances that I have and some home repairs like plumbing. I also had an electrical repair that had to be done. Every time, they've sent a reliable, knowledgeable, worthy person to my home. They came in and did the thing. Some of the work I had done was done prior to COVID. During COVID time, they came in with masks and coverings so that they didn't bring things in. The plumber wore booties on their feet and everybody did the distance thing.
The first time, it was a little cumbersome and I don't know if that was the fact that I didn't know what I was doing. I do get a representative and tell them what my issue is and what has to be done. They put it in and the next thing I know, I get a phone call from whatever company they are going to send to me. But after that, the other one was a little bit more complicated. That was with my GE appliances only because I had two appliances and it was the two didn't get written up. One I had done online, the other one I spoke to a representative with. Make sure if you got two things that have to be done, tell them about the two things type of deal. Other than that, I haven't come into an issue with anything. So far, for everything that I’ve called them about, their contractors have come in and American Home Shield has been great with whomever they would send in to do the work.
I definitely would recommend American Home Shield. I have recommended them to other people that I know. I had found out about them through my daughter who lives in another state. When she bought her home, they gave her American Home Shield for anything that could possibly go wrong. Her air conditioning system went out. She paid her fee and got a whole new air conditioning system for $100. My air conditioning system went out just before I got American Home Shield and it cost me $5,000 to replace my air conditioning system. I wish I had had this service 30 days earlier but I procrastinated. American Home Shield is great for the amount of money I pay every month for the service which is $35. To have somebody come in, a plumber or an electrician, when you have appliances go and you have a warranty, you can't go wrong with that. Before you even make the phone call, you know what you're going to pay.

I had a computer that I had just moved back in my home office. I plugged it in and then the next couple of days, it died. I took it in to get checked and they said that it shorted. So, I had to buy a new one. I thought maybe the computer was bad. Later, I went to plug something into another plug, same room, next wall. As I went to plug it in, I saw sparks come out. But I also noticed there was a flickering in one of the light in the kitchen. I got nervous. I thought maybe there was a short in the line, and thinking that I didn't want my house to burn down, that was why I wanted to get electrical out here.
I went online and asked Home Shield for an electrician. It seemed fairly easy. That was my very first experience with a home warranty claim. Lite It Up Electric's tech was very nice and courteous. He wore his mask and was very polite and professional. I liked him. He came in, checked everything, then said, “It's just the fixture. It’s just you may just need to get another fixture.” He said, sometimes it will do that. Maybe condensation outside, but he didn't seem to think it was a problem. I'm not an electrician, so I wasn't 100% convinced. I will just keep an eye on it. He could be right. I just don't want this house to burn down.
Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. We are happy that we were able to get the issue resolved for you. Our goal is to pair you with the best contractor that knowledgeable and able to explain what is going on. We look forward to our continued business together. Have a good day.

I've been in my house for about six years. The person that I bought my house from, which is the second owner, had in the deal American Home Shield. I went ahead and took it over and kept it in my name. I have been with it since I got this house and I renew it every year as I should and keep it moving. They had Draingo of Alabama come out for a plumbing issue I had. Everything went great. This was the second time I've worked with them.
The guy that always came out was very professional. He didn't sugarcoat anything and told me, "Okay. Here's the problem. Here's what you have to pay out of pocket." He was very thorough in all he did. He always let me be aware of what he was doing before he went ahead and did what he had to do. That was every time he came. And with the pandemic, Draingo had given me questionnaires before and when they are calling me to let me know that they were 15 minutes away. They reminded me of everything. They had gloves and whatever they put on their feet.
There were little small knickknacks from time to time with American Home Shield. There was something that they wouldn't cover because they had to put a whole other stopper in my bathroom bathtub. Other than that, all is well. They are here and I'm not interfering. they can go through the run. they can swipe the 150 so they can go ahead and do what they need to do so I can get another drain or plug in the bathtub.

Before, we turned the AC on and it wasn't cooling. The fan inside would blow, but it would blow warm air or just room temperature air. The guy from Myers Comfort Specialists said that when he came and checked it out, the fan motor was burned out. So, he replaced the fan motor, and it started cooling again. But it seems like it's louder than what it was originally. When the fan kicks on, it's a little louder. I could hear it from outside in my bedroom. But other than that, it's cooling. The tech did what he was supposed to do. He was nice and professional. He had on a mask. He stayed outside mostly.
Mostly, Home Shield has been doing pretty good with their service.

There was one gentleman and he did a fine job. However, I feel that American Home Shield is more conservative and willing to do the minimum to get it going which is not in the best interest of the homeowner. They were willing to replace a coil that was apparently leaking at some point. However, it was a freon-based unit so it was older. It would've been in their best interest probably to go a little more. What complicated the whole situation was I was selling the home. I had the policy for about a year and it was discovered that there was a leak. The person that was buying the home opted to take the credit versus getting that particular component replaced. They didn't wanna put a bandaid on it. It was a freon unit so their intent was to overhaul the whole thing. It's much more expensive and there was never anything filed or carried through.
I didn't have all my information so I did have to call. Their wait times are ridiculous. It's well over an hour, sometimes two hours. I've called several times a day and even in the morning, it's long. Doing it online is very quick. Automatically, everything's kinda triggered. But I needed to speak to somebody because they kept on billing me every time the guy would come out. He came out three times and they're technically not supposed to bill you each time for the same issue. I had to call and have them credit it back. They did, no problem, but it was one of those things where it's kind of annoying. You can't do it online.
American Home Shield is doing what they do. They do add peace of mind but you don't really get the comprehensive support you would want. When the guy first went out there, the drip pan had water in it. He said it was clogged. He unclogged it and that was it. But it shouldn't really be filling up. It should not be condensing that much for it to fill up. It really shouldn't be wet. That's a backup for the whole thing so it does not overflow or leak. So it stopped there. It's leaking. It's clogged, unclog it, they are paid, everybody goes home. Then I'm like, "Okay, well, that's a problem, because now, it's frozen." That's why it was turned off and it was running and it froze. Then it turned itself off, it thawed out and filled up. They didn't go to the next level. They didn't check anything or do any kind of diagnostic on it.
They do the simplest, cheapest, most economical thing to do, and that's where it's kinda concerning because then they have to come out again. I don't know if I'd use American Home Shield again because it's kind of irrelevant. It was a rental property for me so it was some kind of overwatching. If I was in my home, some things are easily managed through my own maintenance that I do. But for somebody else renting your home, they're not as maybe diligent or as careful or concerned about the home. If something were to happen, I could have somebody immediately respond.

AHS will force one contractor, initially, and I hear a lot of people complain that they can't choose their own service provider. Maybe people don't know about this, but they can click on it, look really close to it, there's a little down arrow, and it'll give up to the first five. When calling, it rolls and cycles. Sometimes you can never get through for hours, and other times you can get through. There are problems with some calls that comes up. But then AHS, overall, is really good at addressing the stuff.
I had a problem with clarity on a contract once that was definitely ambiguous in their favor. They mean one thing and it's not written the way that they mean it and it's more on technical things. I had a specific issue with hose bibs and I knew it was faucet hose bibbs. There are hose bibbs that are in a house and there are also outside of the house. If you have an internal laundry with a laundry basin there, that could be considered a hose bibb, if it screws on. But I had external hose bibs, which I thought all day long would be covered. They came back with some galvanized something on the report, internal, external and it was definitely not written up that way in the coverage. It was something that they meant to not cover.
Bottom line, the contract says hose bibbs are covered. Then they were saying that the galvanized ones are not. I asked them why they didn't write it in the coverage. They were saying those were excluded. But that doesn't make me stop doing business with AHS because every company has a little shortfall here and there. I just moved on to the next one. They credited back the service fee, in any case. Recently, the contractor, Air Squad, has always been fantastic. They're completely dependable, trustworthy, and get the job done fast. They're flexible with scheduling. If I can always choose them on the list, which I always dig down to try to do, I have been selecting them for the past half a dozen calls.
For those considering a home warranty for the first time, read the contract and check their pricing out. AHS runs a lot of specials and probably one of the most competitive out there with their yearly or monthly rate. Also, they recently had a good string of service providers. People just gotta sign up with one and there are no guarantees. I look after a handful of properties, so we fluctuate between a few. I've been out of AHS years and then we went back to them because the other companies started to fail. I'm not gonna say that wouldn't happen again here. But for now, I'm happy with what's going on.
Sometimes they get bad strings of contractors, and the pricing just doesn't equate out, and the contractors just can't get the jobs done, so you just have no choice. The contractors flip back and forth too. I have a little blacklist of contractors that I won't go near no matter where they come up. Hopefully, I recognize them. Sometimes I'm in a rush. But there's a couple that I'll do anything in the world to avoid them. Then I've had guys cancel fairly recently on multiple properties because they were on a dead-end with non-coverage on things that were absolutely easy to be covered. I just close my eyes and I don't try to fix what's not broken and AHS has been really good lately. Maybe I've been getting lucky. I recommend them all the time to anyone I talk to.

I'm a Realtor and I've been using American Home Shield for at least 35 years. We are pretty active in the North Dallas area. We put a seller's coverage on every listing that we have. We let them know that the buyer may make another choice, but in the meantime, we want them to be covered. I also have about 14 rentals that I have American Home Shield on so I have a pretty good feel for the kind of service that they give. I have certain people that are preferred vendors but I can't always get them. Sometimes I have to call at five o'clock in the morning because my special ones, I've already blocked out for that day. But we can work with the system.
Recently, the AC blew up and it had to be replaced. The time frame on how long that took was very quick. It was even over a Saturday. They came out, assessed it, and ordered the part. I have another air conditioning upstairs so we did just fine for about three or four days. All of it was very timely. I give A-US Air Conditioning of Texas a 10 on the scale from 1 to 5. There’s also one technician that is absolutely wonderful. He is very knowledgeable, very kind and very much a gentleman. His name is Greg and he is a member of the AC Wizard’s AC team.

Submitting claims to American Home Shield has been easy. I can go online to submit if I can't get through on the phone. Last year, we had an issue with our refrigerator and we had to wait a bit because a part had to be ordered. It came and everything was taken care of. It was all still very efficient. Recently, the faucet of one shaft in my bathroom wouldn't turn off. It was stripped. This happened late in the day so we had to turn off the water from the street. I submitted a claim to American Home Shield and the serviceperson they chose sent a text that night and asked if we knew the make of the faucet. He asked if we could take a picture of it. I did that and sent it to him. He came the following morning and knew exactly what to do. In 15 minutes, he was done. AHS has been excellent and professional.

GE Appliances came out for two different appliances. The first one, there was nothing wrong with the appliance, it was something that we had done, so no issues. The second one, we have water in our refrigerator. When you press the water, the water was leaking down the bottom. The pipe down the bottom was cracked so they had to replace the pipe. The service of American Home Shield is okay. They get things fixed. Sometimes, I don't hear from anybody for a while but eventually, they get stuff done. I like that they also let me pick what appliances that I wanted to cover under my warranty.

Then my heater wasn't coming on and they sent the same guys who did it. They checked it out and couldn't figure it out. So I'm waiting. They got a technician on his way right now.

I had some AC issues and Home Shield took care of it. The contractor came out and added very expensive refrigerant but Home Shield only covers $10 per pound and after the $10, it was $70 a pound. I had to pay for eight pounds of that, plus the truck roll fee. Then, they had to run some dye in there to see where the leak was and come back. It didn't take that long for that to leak back out. The guys came back out and they replaced the coil. It was $1,500 for that part but it was covered under Home Shield. That one has been working since.
Then, my other one went out but that was just the capacitor so I had the truck roll fee on that. They came out and it took five minutes. They replaced the capacitor and they were ready to go. But there was an online aspect about getting the truck rolls out here and I couldn't get in on the second one. They probably need to fix something there because the password reset wasn't very quick. But the call center took care of me.

The fan stopped working outside on the AC unit, so it was not blowing cold air. That happened on a Sunday, then we turned off the AC and we made the claim with AHS on Sunday afternoon. Then, by that Sunday evening, we had an appointment already set for Monday. And on Monday, the tech came out and was very professional. We liked him a lot. He went out, looked inside, went up to the attic, then went outside and came back. We offered him water because it was hot outside, but he said no and that he had water. He also wore a mask and was a very nice guy. Then he said that he fixed X, Y, Z and that we were good to go. And everything's been working perfectly since then. We actually had to increase our thermostat because the AC is working better now. Ever since he came out, we have not put it under 75.

Home Shield's website is pretty easy to use. It was pretty easy and straightforward to submit the claim. Once I submitted the claim, the job was assigned to company within 24 hours. Then the company contacted me the next day. The tech came out and did the job. He was very curious and he knew exactly what the issue was. He had the part on hand and he fixed it within 30 minutes. He gave me instructions as to what to watch out for for the next 24 or 48 hours and the AC is still working just fine.
I had issues with the vendors with the second claim that I reported to Home Shield. It was for the washing machine and supposedly the contractor received the part that I needed to change but they never showed up, and then said they never received the part. It was a lot of back and forth with the company because they kept telling that I had to wait. Until finally, about two weeks later when they escalated the issue, they finally told me that I didn't have to wait and that I could go the route of buying a new machine and Home Shield would just pay the difference. So that issue was a little more cumbersome than I expected to try to solve an issue. But other than that, everything has been good so far.

Our dishwasher was starting while the door was open. It was not draining and there was water in the overflow basin in the bottom. Submitting a claim through the AHS website worked fine. I was informed via email and text message that a contractor would be assigned and would be contacting me for follow-up. The company contacted me promptly the following day and they came out the day after that and resolved the problem very well. They restored service to the dishwasher which was a happy thing. We have a fairly old house. So about two-thirds of the claims that we submit with AHS get processed right away and we get good contractors assigned and get the service restored right away. Our dryer has a gas leak and we are trying to get it replaced. First, I submitted a repair ticket which was pretty seamless and AHS sent someone out on same day. That person from the contracted company said it was a pretty old dryer and they probably didn't make the parts anymore, so they would probably be replacing it. He said he would be sending that on to the company. I then didn't hear anything from them.
They apparently sent my husband an email. His email was the one in the system, even though I requested it through my email, which was also in the system. It went to my husband's junk mail and he didn't see it. They offered us a cash amount for that dryer, but it was significantly less than the market price of the dryer. We could buy the model that they would buy for us if they would do it for us. I called them and sat on hold for three hours to talk to someone. They re-sent the email to my email, but it did not contain a link to actually accept or deny the proposal for the cash amount.
AHS told me on the phone that I could reply to that email and tell them that I would like to decline the cash amount and have do the replacement as promised. I replied to it and that was coming up on two weeks ago. I haven't heard back from them. I've been avoiding calling them because it would be another two-hour wait on the phone. Also, they're only open during business hours and I have a job. So it's probably been about a month without a dryer now.
AHS is trying to lowball it. A part of their strategy is to just not respond to stuff in the hopes that we'll take the lower amount because that $500 or so for dryer, they told me which model they would buy. At Home Depot, it's 720, and I know that it costs them about 500 to order the model, but then they have to do install and all this stuff. So it's cheaper for them to pay out the dollar amount, but it's much less than like what anyone can buy any model like that for in the open market. So I'm pretty frustrated. No one has contacted me yet after this. We're contemplating taking the cash, but I really wanna negotiate to get close to what it actually costs in the market. So I'm standing firm and we're air drying all our clothes right now. I couldn't imagine what that situation would look like if it was a fridge or a heater or something that was really necessary and you'd just end up taking the cash for less than what the product actually would cost you.
We had a couple of minor repairs and everything was totally fine and very easy. When you just have a repair, I've had no complaints. We had an electrician come out and do a couple of things really easily. We had someone check our washer 'cause it was doing some wobbly stuff that ended up being nothing, but it was very quick and easy. So that process is very user-friendly and seamless. You can do it all online and you don't have to talk to anybody on the phone. But the process once it moves into replacement has been nothing but pain.
Good evening Elizabeth,
I apologize that your experience with AHS was not satisfactory. I have sent an email to you hoping to engage more toward a resolution for your issue. Please respond to that email for further assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.

When doing claims with American Home Shield, I just put a request in online. And before I finish, it shows me who they're gonna send out. Then they give like two additional companies I can choose from. It's a lot to pay $75 every time somebody comes out and you pay monthly, and then you may not necessarily use the service. So American Home Shield sent another company out. We just wanted them to completely resolve the issue. American Home Shield is, by far, one of the better companies that we've looked at. It's a simple process for submitting claims and some of the companies that they have offered are great. But some of the companies weren't really helpful. It's kind of like luck of the draw. AHS should be able to vet them. But if there was a way for the consumer to choose which contractor they wanted to work with from a list of contractors, that would be a better way of going about it instead of just assigning the closest or nearest person that would pick up the job.

Doing it online is also much better than calling in a service because I can't stand talking to people that don't even speak English. They don't understand you and I waited an hour to hour and a half. It's terrible customer service.
There are also a lot of people that need to go. Express Appliance needs to be taken off American Home Shield's list. They're a nightmare. They say they work on high-end stuff like Sub-Zero but they don't. They're online watching YouTube videos. One time, they took my refrigerator apart. The door wouldn't close. I had to tape it shut. I lost all my food. It was disastrous and they never called back. American Home Shield could never get ahold of them. They were leaving them messages but American Home Shield has these foreigners that say they left a message and they'd call me back but they didn't. American Home Shield signed up with Porch to do dryer vent cleaning. I thought I'd get my dryer vent cleaned for $80. We purchased a new home and as part of that contract, the washer and dryer were left behind at the request of the seller. Upon moving in, we discovered initially that the dryer was not heating and identified that it was a gas dryer. We turned on the gas and that helped the heating portion of it. But we noticed after it sat for 30 minutes unused that there was a smell of natural gas. It wasn't overwhelming but it was noticeable. We turned off the gas then contacted American Home Shield, which was also part of the home purchase.
Initially, they had given us Sears as the repair company but it was going to be several weeks out before they would be able to assist us. American Home Shield engaged Assurance, which was the next option. But Assurance did not have schedules that showed to American Home Shield so they said that Assurance would have to contact me. Assurance contacted me the next day and scheduled a visit two or three days later. That all worked out very well. Overall, that process was pretty smooth.
The repair person that showed up was the owner/operator of Assurance. He was very professional and was able to diagnose what he believed to be like a stuck valve for one of the gas lines and said that it wasn't a major ordeal but that was where the gas smell was coming from. He replaced that valve then advised us that if we continued to have any issues, we were to contact American Home Shield and they would get him back out.
There were some issues getting initially set up with American Home Shield but they weren't necessarily at fault. It seemed to be the fault of my closing attorney who submitted a paper check for payment on behalf of the seller for the purchase of the one year of the home warranty. That just recently was resolved. But for the first week, American Home Shield was showing a past due balance to me although it was not something that I was responsible for paying. That was preventing us from submitting a claim through the website.
When I made an initial phone call to American Home Shield, it also prevented a claim to be filed. I explained to them the scenario that we were the buyers in this case and that it was something that was part of the closing agreement. They redirected me back to my closing attorney and so we went that route. A real estate agent seemed to have contact with some type of local or district manager here for American Home Shield and got in contact with her. She then, in turn, talked to dispatch and said, "Call this owner. We will run the call. Here's their scenario." American Home Shield ended up calling me to set up the initial schedule and they were very polite. It was a little frustrating though.

I bought a condo in August. When the house was inspected, the garbage disposal worked. It was probably the original garbage disposal that came in my 45-year-old building. They expressed that my kitchen sink wasn't draining and they bumped me up to get me seen faster.
Someone from Intertech Maintenance Group came. He checked everything first and it turned out that the motor in the garbage disposal burned out. That was pretty straightforward. The tech had a spare garbage disposal in his truck. There was no, "I have to order a part," and all of that mess. He walked out to his truck, came back in with one, and he made sure that I had the little key that allows to kind of manually clear the garbage disposal. He was able to replace the garbage disposal in about an hour and 10 minutes. He did a pretty good job of making sure that everything was cleaned up after he left.
I've lived in the area before. If it was a straight-up upgrade to plumbing, I probably would have gone with a different plumber. The tech wasn't quite as personable as the people who kind of have to sell you on getting a product. But it was good as far as did it work, does it leak, was it done in a reasonable period of time. He also checked the whole unit inside the house to make sure there wasn’t anything wrong with it. My AC has been working perfectly ever since.

The AC was freezing up because there was a problem with the filters. It was a new property for me and the AC had double filters and it was working too hard. I had to use American Home Shield right away on this AC deal and it worked great. The tech from AAA All Brands Appliance explained to me what was wrong. It turned out to be a minor thing and he took care of it. He showed me how to avoid it from happening again. He also wore a mask and we were outdoors most of the time, so it wasn't difficult to take precautions. The AC is working fine now.

Price Right came out to evaluate the problem. Before they came, they told me that they were gonna be able to break the wall to actually look. When they got here, they told me that they were unable to do it. I had to turn around and reschedule another appointment with Price Right. They came back later on that day, and then the guy told me that he was gonna call me back in two days. I called back American Home Shield to complain, but they brushed me off. That was when JR Plumbing came. JR Plumbing came on a Thursday and they had to get their approval. Then they were here Saturday and they fixed the problem for me. It was only with Price Right Plumbing & Drain that I had an issue with. Everything went smoothly when talking with American Home Shield and JR Plumbing.

I'm thinking of leaving Home Shield. I pay them about $85 per month and I'm not satisfied with their service. I've been with them for many years. When I move, I keep their service and transfer their service to the existing house. This becomes worse and worse. I have two refrigerators in the house. How could one be covered and another is not? I checked the contract and it says all the refrigerators in the house are covered. I should expect better services.
Also, they should carefully check their provider. I am fully satisfied with the plumber from All Hours Emergency. He came out and quickly installed a new faucet. But not all contractors are satisfactory. I went online to file a refrigerator claim because it's very difficult to reach them by phone. I paid $75 in advance and they sent me a confirmation who my provider would be and to call them if they don't call me within 48 hours. The guys who came out fixed the switch but not the cooling and freezing problem. They told me it was a gap in the door and they have to buy something to fill it. They left my house and they promised to return in several days and fix it but nobody returned. The second issue wasn't resolved although I paid in advance.

Supervisor call back 2 hours. No call back. Called Wednesday. Hold 30 minutes. Same program. Call back 20 minutes. No call. Thursday called again. Put on hold. Register for auto call back from agent. Half hour later same routine. Passed to sales dept. Why?? Told saw I was billed twice but could do anything. Talk to billing. Asked to talk supervisor. Put on hold. Finally after another 30 minutes I finished my lunch. On hold and had to leave. Still no resolution. I can’t believe that all their reviews are 4 and 5 star reviews. No service company can get that many good reviews without any low ones. They must filter these out. Will be surprised If this gets posted. Would love to hear from their upper management. A week later, we called back and they gave us somebody else to come in for our air conditioner. From then on, we had no more problem. It went good at the end. This time, we had a leak in the hot water tank and JR Plumbing came out to service it. They were very good. The guy had to remove the tank and then put a new one in. He did it quickly and he was friendly as well. After he was all done, my son went in and looked at it, and he thought it was leaking. So the guy came back and showed him that there was nothing wrong.

The AC broke down. I called AHS and they dispatched a heating and air conditioning company on their vendor listing which was was an hour away from Montgomery. Unfortunately, we did not get a loaner unit through them and that was when the heat was 102 around here in Alabama. So, if we wouldn't have gotten a window unit from a different source, it would've been quite uncomfortable and our critters wouldn't have survived in the house. The techs came out within three to four business days, but when the heat index is 102, that was not too quick. Other than that, there was a part that was needed, so to the initial three days, another three to four days tacked on until the part came in. But after the repair, the AC has been working good and up to par.
We also had some plumbing issues previously where we didn't have an issue with AHS. But they should have a more friendlier customer service department, instead of just having one 800 number and you're on hold or you take a number or they call you back. It is very rare that you actually get to speak to somebody in person.

The guy that A to Z Electric sent out didn't understand why the breakers were bad, and he decided to have someone come look at my dishwasher, even though the breakers were beeping six times, and online that showed that the breaker was bad. I tried to explain to him and I said, "Well, I know why this is not working. The breaker keeps tripping because it's bad." It was kind of a mess. The guy that was sent out looked at the dishwasher, and everything was fine. So they put it back on to A to Z to come back out and check the breakers again. Another guy from A to Z came out and he said, "Oh, yeah. These breakers are bad." So he changed the breakers out with temporary breakers.
I needed to get the breakers replaced because they're a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. I have the new breakers in my possession. There are temporary breakers in the system in the box. My dishwasher is working, but I am supposed to have these special breakers in there per code. So, someone needs to come back and correct it. Now, I'm trying to call A to Z to come back out and put in the permanent breakers, but I'm having a hard time getting ahold of them. As far as American Home Shield, it's been fine. Initially when we bought the house, the realtor recommended the company. I had it for a year and then I let it lapsed because I didn't think I would need it. Then I got a deal to rejoin. I understand that with COVID thing might be a little up in the air with trying to get in touch with a representative. I've been on the phone for close to two hours waiting to speak to someone. It was about me just needing to find out what was going on with the problem because I hadn't heard anything. But as for the service that they provide, I'm quite happy with that. The customer service lady with the air conditioning company would call and give me updates on what they were doing. She also said that as soon as they got the part or hear back from AHS, they would set up a time to come out. That's what I liked about the air conditioning people.
The first repair company that came wasn't all that helpful. But the second contractor that AHS sent out, I was very happy with what they did for both the air conditioning and the refrigerator. The technicians were both really helpful, friendly, courteous, and punctual. I was able to give to them any feedback about what was actually going on with the product. They wanted to make sure that I was happy with the result on both issues. They didn't just fix the issue and then left. They made sure that it was running properly and that everything was okay with it. With the air conditioning, the technician found some issues that were going on with it. Since he has resolved that, I find that the air conditioner is performing a lot better with the refrigerator.

I had a really bad experience with our plumbing issue before. I tried to have AHS get involved and they told me that it was my responsibility. I felt like if they were choosing the person that I had to do the services with, and something goes wrong, then they should resolve that matter because they made the contract to have services with those people, and I don't. There are a lot of vendors locally who are locally known, and most of the vendors they send are not locally known. This company for the plumbing came all the way from Pennsylvania to do the service and I live in Washington, DC. It is a metropolitan area surrounded by metropolitan areas so AHS doesn't have to get someone from there to do the work. When this company came, they did not do a good job and it took them several visits, about six months, to get that job resolved.
With the air conditioning, what happened was that the first vendor that was sent out was Cecil & Sons. First off, they did not respond in a timely manner to my request. Then they came two or three times, and they were never able to correct the problem. I called AHS to see if I could have someone come out and resolve the matter and they would reimburse me. They told me no and that they would have to send someone else and they sent Tru Tech. We've had Tru Tech before do a heating issue a couple of years ago so we are familiar with them. They came out one time, and within the hour or so, the guy was able to troubleshoot the problem and correct it and we've not had a problem since. They did an excellent job and performed their services professionally.
Then I realized that AHS charged me twice for this one job. I called and asked to speak to the supervisor and the person said that he couldn't put me through to the supervisor, but the supervisor would call me back. Well, that supervisor never did. But I noticed yesterday that I got a refund for one of those services. I have recommended AHS to my parents and they're even older than we are although I have a problem on their behalf. But as far as general service, AHS responds in a reasonable time. Sometimes the customer service is good and sometimes it's not.

There was no issue whatsoever and they handled it perfectly. They got J & A out, who fixed our problem in 15 minutes. They were wonderful.
We have two homes and we have AHS on both homes. Submitting a claim is very simple. But when you put in a request, it's the first person that pops up they send it to instead of being able to request the same company to come back. If it’s via the same company, they'll know your home so they know the issues versus when you call in a claim. There's no place to request a certain provider. They just put it out and whoever claims it first gets it. But now I've learned that I can request it if I have found someone like J & A Plumbing, who does my electrical, plumbing and HVAC, and I found them through AHS.

The gentleman installed a new box and everything seemed to be fine. We've used American Home Shield them for more than 20 years. We've probably only had one or two instances where we weren't pleased but for the most part, they have been very good. Our AC wasn't cooling as well as it should have been. It was 82 in the house and it was unpleasant. It was also making noise. The tech was out there in the pouring rain working on the air conditioner. He had his mask on and all the COVID precautions. He was really great and did a good job. I really liked that guy and he was just really sweet. The AC has been great since.
We've had American Home Shield for five months and we will not have them for very much longer. I'm currently in the middle of the worst battle of my life with these people. Two weeks after the air conditioner, the washing machine quit. So we called AHS and went through the whole procedures and paid the $100. They had the guy come out and look and looked at it for 20 seconds. He said that the issue was the pump. They ordered it and they had it shipped to my house, so I thought that it was convenient. That was a Wednesday and the pump arrived on a Saturday. The guy couldn’t get back until the next Wednesday.
The guy replaced the pump and turned it on. It still didn’t work. He then decided that it was the motherboard. He ordered the part on a Wednesday. It got here on Saturday. He came back on Wednesday and replaced the motherboard. That didn’t work. So he decided that maybe it was the pump. He just replaced the wrong pump the first time. So then it would be another week. My washing machine broke on August 5th. We still have no washer. We have five children and it’s a very unpleasant situation. This was fine for the first couple of weeks. I thought I’ll just do it old school and wash them in the bathtub and that it’ll be a good learning experience for everybody. But then it got really old. So my friends would pick up laundry for me and take it to their house. I'm about to have to go to the laundromat today because we're leaving for vacation in a week.
The guy from company that AHS sent was nice enough but not as competent as I would have liked. He has been here five times now. Every time he came, he would just leave the water sitting in the washing machine because it was not draining there. I would have to drain it manually into the trash can and dump it in the yard. Then, he would leave the boxes from the part in my laundry room. The parts he took off the washing machine, he would just leave in the laundry room. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with them so I just throw those away and need to pick it up next time.
It took them seven days every single time for the guy to get here and replace whatever they've ordered until the last time. I was pretty fed up at that point. Then, they started to cancel appointments and reschedule without letting me know. This just dragged on and on. Finally, the same guy showed up again and replaced the same stinky pump he had already replaced three times. He turned it on and said that it was working and that he ran a few things to drain it. But he was not even here long enough to do that. He told me to run a cycle with a tub clean and he left. I was super excited to have my washer back. I ran a tub clean and halfway through, it made the same noise. The water wouldn't drain and it got the same error on the screen. So it was not at all fixed.
The company has already billed American Home Shield for it so the company won't come back out and fix it. I keep calling the appliance company and American Home Shield. They all will say that a supervisor will call me back. This has been probably four times that we've been promised a call back and they’ve never called. Those people are just insufferable. They have a script that they have to read and I'm sure they can't deviate from it. It's really frustrating on my end.
One guy called me back from the cancellation department. He said that it sounded terrible and that he was sorry. He said that they were gonna see if they could get us a new washing machine. Then he said that I would hear directly back from him, but of course, I didn't hear anything back. So, I called them againd and they said that they couldn't verify all this stuff and they'd still need to talk to the appliance company.
I called the appliance company and the appliance company didn't know what AHS was talking about. They said that they talk to AHS every day and send them all the information they need and that AHS was crazy. So I called American Home Shield, and their rep said that they could open up a new ticket for this and have the guy come back out here, but I would have to pay another $100. I literally almost cried. All American Home Shield said was they could only go with the diagnostics of the technician. When the technician left here, he said that it was working. So because of that, we’re back at square one. I didn't wanna pay the extra $100. So now I’m waiting for a supervisor to call me back again, which I know they won’t. I will go out of my way from now on to dissuade anybody from ever even thinking about American Home Shield.
Good afternoon Amanda,

I find submitting claims with Home Shield to be a little bit difficult - calling the place, getting the service person to call, and then they gotta call you back and they make an appointment. It's like four layers. It should be streamlined somehow where we wouldn't have to be on hold first with the insurance company, on hold with the appliance company, and then on hold when they call you back to find out when they're coming. And the contractors do their job but they're very myopic. If they're here to fix a dishwasher, they look at the dishwasher. You can't ask them to peek into the stove. That's just the way they operate. But they do what they're supposed to do. They come out, they check it, and then they take pictures or whatever, and they make a claim.
Also, people have to know more and be very aware of deductibles. I've dealt with different insurance companies and that's not something they advertise on their ads. A warranty always costs money. It's not a free Band-Aid for everything and it doesn't protect you for everything. I have a $100 deductible and I always have to pay the first hundred. It's a good deal if it's a big fix and you only have to pay 100.

The contractor came and replaced the garbage disposal. They had to replace something in the bathroom sink and cleaned everything up. Everything seems to be fine now.
American Home Shield has at least stepped it up the last few times because the first two experiences that we had were not so great. The contractors didn't follow up on what they said they were gonna follow up on. We had a leak so they cut a hole in the ceiling and said that American Home Shield would come and patch that up. When I called American Home Shield, they said, "No. We don't do that. You need to find someone else to do it." I had to hire a separate contractor that my realtor recommended. The plumbing guy said it was the AC. The AC guy came and he stopped the air conditioner from leaking but he was kinda rude. I wouldn't use either one of those companies again. They were misleading and didn't finish the job. Though I'm not really using it, American Home Shield comes in handy when you need it. The policy is $80 a month and when we do have a big repair, I don't really have to pay for it 'cause it's already included.

I was very impressed. He had a mask on and I asked him if I should wear one. He said no but I wore one. We've been with American Home Shield for over four years and we're gonna stick with them. I noticed though that on top of the $37 per month that I pay, they take out the 125 service fee before the service was even done. It was a little bit upsetting but that's the only negative. But Sears has been really difficult to get ahold of. When the contractor came out, the tech rang our nonfunctioning doorbell and was just going to leave. Luckily, I walked to the front of the house and had seen him there. I was not thrilled with that.
Then, they were waiting on parts but for some reason, they canceled the service call because they said they couldn't get ahold of me. With all of the robocalls and everything, I typically don't answer my phone so if they were trying to set up an appointment, I would expect that they would leave a message but they didn't. They just canceled our claim, which was frustrating. I didn't want to lose my temper so I had my husband call and figure out what was going on and he wasn't exactly sure either. I paid them online, they got the guy out here and he fixed it and it went well. Using Home Shield is a good concept and it's worked for us. They're a very efficient company and they're pretty fair.

My most recent claim with AHS was an air conditioner claim. The fan wouldn't stay on. I file the claim through the mobile app and then I got a notification that we would get someone assigned to us within 24 hours. That was a Saturday night and we heard from the contractor first thing Monday morning. The guy came out the next day and he was super friendly and really great. Everything was fixed while they were here. He had the part in his vehicle. We had two more claims with AHS before this. One with our washing machine and then another for an AC problem. Those were fine as well.

The gentleman who came out for the garage door was very professional. He determined what the problem was and fixed it right away. He had a mask on too. The claims process is usually automated every time I call. They have my card on file and would automatically charge me. I had an issue one time where something was going on with my refrigerator. I called AHS and the gentleman who came wanted me to sign this three-page release form from him. I've never had that before and I asked him what he was doing and what he meant to do. He said he needed me to sign it.
American Home Shield never asked me to do anything like it before and I asked him what I was releasing him from. He said it was from their company. They didn't want me holding anything against them if they couldn't fix it or if they couldn't do it. I said that I was not comfortable. I didn't know what it was and I told him that I would like him to leave my house. He asked if I would sign it and I said no. I didn't even know what his deal was. I just wanted him to look at my refrigerator but he was handing me a release form releasing their company from whatever it is, before they even look and see what's wrong with my refrigerator. It irritated me because I had to pay the hundred dollar fee because he did come out to the house. That bothered me but I just let it go. It was strange.
AHS should send somebody else or do something. That would be nice. They used to charge you your fee once the contractor has done the work. I got an email or I got a call to make sure everything was all good, and then they would charge you. But now, as soon as you ask for the service, they take the fee and there's nothing you can do about it. I haven't had an issue except for that one time a while back. I want to know a company that comes to my house. I have a Sub-Zero refrigerator and there is a Hornet in Houston. It’s who they've always sent before because I've had a couple of icemakers over the years. But this time, they found somebody new that does Sub-Zeros and they sent them and I don't like them. AHS should send out who I normally know that does this.
Still, American Home Shield has been great. Every time I have an issue, I get it resolved and it's fixed and taken care of. It makes me happy about that. I hear people saying negative comments sometimes but I haven't had any problems. I’ve had AHS between the 5 and 10-year mark. It has been very beneficial and I've even told my daughter. She and her husband are about to buy a new home and I told them that they need to call up and get a home warranty. It’s worth its weight in gold. They take care of you. Especially since they're young and new about getting a home and they're scared. AHS is a relief because you never know when something's gonna break. It could be something costly or something inexpensive. It all averages out over time, but it's worth it.
Good afternoon Tracy,

The air conditioner was not getting as cold as it needed to. I went online and submitted a claim with Home Shield. I've used their website before and it's incredibly intuitive and easy. I submitted my request on a Friday afternoon and Home Shield told me that I would hear from someone within 24 hours. The contractor called me first thing on Monday, which was fine. I didn't expect someone to call me on Saturday.
The issue was that the little seeds that came off from cottonwood trees got stuck to the back of my air conditioner. We had to rinse that off and the AC started working great all over again. I felt silly because not only did I know about this because they've explained it to me before, it's been in my newsletters from Home Shield. But Connett Services was great. And I was so thankful because it was a very simple problem and easy to fix. Overall, it was a really good experience. I've been a customer of Home Shield for seven years because we have had so many good experiences and the security that they provide is worth every penny. It's worth more to me than what I pay. It's convenient, fast, and reliable.

I made a claim with American Home Shield to fix my air conditioning outside unit. In the state of Georgia, all of the heating and air companies that American Home Shield has on their website, if you go in and submit a claim online, you get assigned to the lowest bidder. So for example, when I went in online and put in I needed help for my air conditioner on Friday night, they assigned the order to a company that was over three hours away from my home. I looked up the name of the company on the Better Business Bureau and it never passed the Better Business Bureau inspection. They had horrible reviews as well. So I called back into the 800 number and I had to argue with them and say that I'm not gonna wait for someone who comes from three hours away to my home and they never called back anyway. I had to cancel that service request to get my $125 refunded.
The person on the phone said that they do this all the time and gave me the name of another company. We went to three companies until they finally found one which was within an hour of my home. That company came out and did a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I love American Home Shield because it always seems to have a good outcome. It's just a painful process trying to use it. I have the wherewithal to know how to ask and so I'm glad for that, but the process seems crazy.

The oven quit working. It wouldn't heat up. It would barely get warm. We called the Home Shield and they sent the contractor out to repair it for us. He knew exactly what was wrong with it after his inspection. He repaired it and it works great. When I called Home Shield, I didn't have any difficulty getting through. You just have to call them and then they have a contractor get ahold of us to set a date for them to come in. My wife is home right now, so I had no problem with being able to schedule at the time. I was very satisfied with them and the outcome was good. But I would tell people that there are deductibles, which I didn't know there was in the beginning. It's $75 and for what was done, it's a little high for a deductible. But it was still cheaper than me having to pay somebody to come out and do it. Other than that, everything was really good.

It lingered for about two weeks and before calling American Home Shield, I did a thorough investigation to make sure there was nothing rotten or nothing around of that nature there, and everything was perfectly clean. It happened once before, so I decided that since it had been going on there for about two weeks, I would submit a claim with AHS. Then mysteriously, the smell disappeared on the day that the gentleman arrived. We both did a very thorough inspection on everything to try to determine what the heck was going on. And the strange thing was, the smell never ever came back since. So we were both just scratching our heads. Appliance Express came for an issue with our refrigerator and everything went really well. They responded and came earlier than what was expected. We were called to let us know when a technician was on his way. He was professional and he fixed the issue. He also had a mask, gloves, and boot covers on. With regard to the refrigerator, he told us what we had to try as preventative measures. I have a refrigerator that I've placed a work order for since early June and as of today, it has not been repaired yet. So I am without a refrigerator for almost four months. Active Appliances was assigned to me. they showed up within a few days of the request. They sent us a technician who didn't speak English. So, he kept translating whatever he was saying on his iPhone. He kept saying that there was nothing wrong with my refrigerator and wanted to leave. I have a tenant in that place and I can't leave him without a refrigerator. So, I have to provide another refrigerator for the tenant.
We kept insisting that there was something wrong with the refrigerator. The ice cream melts and the milk and everything are spoiling. Then after insisting for so long, the technician had the machine and he said that it was fluctuating and that it wasn't normal. He said that they would have to come back again. So it was another wait time for them to show up. Luckily, they sent someone else who spoke English and apparently they said that there were some parts needed to be repaired.
When the company showed up and they said that it was not the right part and they needed another part. So, they'd go back. Another month would go by to get a part, to get an authorization, and what have you. And whenever they come in, it would be a different part at that time. I’m done with this company. This was the worst experience I had. Basically, they pulled also a part out of the refrigerator. The control board supposedly needs to be repaired. I don't know what the status and whenever I call them, I am on hold for hours and hours and nobody answers the phone. When I reached out to American Home Shield, their representative would put me on hold to call the company to get a status. It was the same thing. They'd come back and say that they couldn’t get ahold of someone.
Overall, AHS wasn't too bad but the contractors that they contract with are terrible. Their ethics and their competency are awful. So far, I’ve been dealing with two supervisors. Every time that I call, they say to call them back and try to reach that person who was already working on the issue for me, they'd say that they couldn't get ahold of that person. So they'd have to send me another supervisor to call me who was gonna have to start all over again. It’s so unorganized.

I'm happy with AHS. I have the French door refrigerator with an icemaker and recently, the icemaker stopped functioning. The guy from GE, who was local here in our county, came and replaced it. And he was fine. He wore his mask, socially distanced, and did the job. Aside from that, the claims process was simple. But it took 10 days for service. You can live without ice and I wasn't worried at all about the 10 days since a buddy of mine had a portable icemaker that he loaned me for 10 days. And even if I didn't, the icemaker was not a big deal. But if it were the refrigerator that stopped, you can't live 10 days without a refrigerator.
So in the future, if a needed appliance or the furnace breaks, I would anticipate significantly better speed than 10 days. Other than that, the insurance is worth it. You pay 800 bucks for your car insurance and hope you never have to use it. So this is about 800 bucks a year to have and it's good. It makes you feel better that stuff will get fixed for 125 bucks.

We've had AHS since we purchased this house in 2013 and it's a whole lot better than it used to be. In the past, there was some issue about payment and they thought I hadn't paid something so I couldn't do anything online because it had my account frozen. I had to call every time, whether I wanted to or not. And having them call me or getting ahold of them when I had a problem wasn't the best. But it's easier now. I'm able to do it online and I've learned to call the contractors and make an appointment myself instead of waiting for them.
Sometimes I get some stinky, creepy, weird people and that doesn't really feel good. AHS always has problems finding good plumbers and we get that problem when they send these contractors to us. They don't fix the problem or they just put a band-aid on it that doesn't last very long or they complain about everything. When we get a new one, they're all excited and they get burnt out on their calls. They sometimes vent their frustrations about contracting with AHS. But the air conditioner contractors respond right away. They call and they're fast, professional, and knowledgeable. One nice thing is it feels like there's an actual professional who takes pride in what they do when they are in your house. I have three AC units and one unit was low on coolant. Then, the second unit stopped not too long afterwards. A-US Air Conditioning of Texas fixed it and it's working now.

With the AHS reps you deal with, their English sometimes gets in the way. They overcharged me a couple of times and I had to go back and correct that. Also, some of the technicians are lazy and they only do what they have to do. Then this particular technician tried to steer me to the one that he deals with so he could get a kickback to fix the hole. I own four houses in the same neighborhood. Two of them are occupied by family members, one's a rental, and one that I own. My house had an air conditioner guy come out. I was hearing some really loud cranking noise that sounded like a tank outside our door and I was afraid that my air conditioner was gonna blow up or catch fire. Also, I live in Arizona and I can't afford to be without air conditioning here. This is 115, 120-degree temperatures. Both my wife and I are seniors, so we were quite concerned about it.
I have a company that I use that comes out twice a year to update and clean my units. When I first had the noise, I called them because they respond within hours. I asked them to come and take a look. They came out and they looked at it. But they were not hearing anything and unless they could hear what my problem was, they couldn't diagnose it or fix the unit. At that point, I filed something with AHS and they sent out Armer Corp. He pretty much said the same thing except he found that the voltage was low. He changed the voltage regulator and the system is running well. I don't have that cranking noise anymore so that's a good thing. The tech also told me to keep an eye on it.

He was a great safety-wise and being personal and nice to us ‘cause we're older people. He was very professional. In the spring, we're going to call him to have the furnace and the air conditioning cleaned ‘cause we really liked them. American Home Shield did a good job of choosing the person and the company they had to send to us.
We left Blue Ribbon because we didn't like them. My daughter said we should go with American Home Shield. We did and they have been fabulous so far. I've already talked to my other daughter and told her to buy it because it's so good. It was so professionally done. Compared to Blue Ribbon, it was amazing. We're gonna carry them forever. When we move to Florida, we're gonna take them with us.

If your appliance needs to be replaced they will not cover even half of what it cost to replace and they do not give you a comparable model if you don't take the cash. They have fine print to help them rip you off. I wish I would have just kept the payment in an account and then I would of had more than enough to replace my appliance and pay for the repairs. This is the biggest waste of money ever! Do not fall for it!!!

We had a big storm and the switch in the garage maybe went off. I didn't realize that until the refrigerator broke. The guy from Jseizeme Appliance came and he restarted and connected it. Also, the sensor in the oven is getting old, so sometimes it turns off. I gave him the manual, but he couldn't see the model because he saw all this stuff and he said that you cannot see the model number. He said there was nothing he could've done.
I was disappointed because I feel like I wasted $75. On top of that, American Home Shield owes $75 credit because before that, Sears called three weeks ago, but they thought that it was an oven in the wall. I said, "No, it's a range." They said, "We need to cancel this order because we don't do that." whatever. So, they canceled the order. So, when I called AHS, I told the lady that I am still waiting for my $75 credit because Sears never came. I also asked if she can use the $75, and she said, "No, we have to charge you another $75." They charged me $75 twice. One has to be credited and that is why I'm so frustrated and really upset because every time I call the company, it takes like almost an hour for somebody to answer the phone call. I'm working at home. I don't have an hour to call. Maybe they want people to hang up and they don't want to put any claim on them. It's totally unacceptable.

I called the number according to our contract. When they said it was gonna be 40 to 50 minutes but I could leave my phone number and they’d call me back, that's what I did. Somebody called me back and set up the appointment. The guy came. In fact, he called me and asked, “Do you mind if I come a little early?” He came, rekeyed, and off he went. He did a good job. He knew what he was doing. He was very fast, very proficient, and very professional. However, if you want to stay on the line and wait, that's a long wait. When I did call the last time, the wait there was gonna be over an hour. But that's pretty normal in this day and age with all the craziness going on. Again, I left the number and they called me back but I found out it wasn't covered by American Home Shield.

He was only there for 20 minutes and we were confused on why we still had to pay $75. He didn't do anything. He just gave us some options on what to do. 'Cause this is gonna have to get a lot of stuff repaired as far as add another duct in a room and so on. Still, the guy was cool and knowledgeable. He told us what he thought and I have to give him A plus for the customer service.

We were trying to track down a smell, and they came back a third time because we couldn't find it. They replaced the wax ring again. Doing the claim to American Home Shield was very easy because they have an online. You can call in as well, and that was as easy. I prefer to do it online. Every time I called American Home Shield, they stated that it was a 42-minute hold time. I've had two claims recently back-to-back for warranty use. I understood that due to the current situation of the pandemic but I was not about to hold the phone for 42 minutes. Other than that, the contractors that AHS sent out were really good. They had to use my tub to drain the hot water heater and the tub was filthy. But when I went back in to check the tub, the guy cleaned it out so that was beautiful. They ended up installing a new one 'cause mine could not be repaired. So it's even better now and everything is normal. It was a good experience but I had to pay a little bit more than what I was expected to pay because there were some clauses and addendums in the contract that I wasn't aware of. So I might start doing a little research to see what else is out there in terms of the home warranty.

Submitting a claim online to American Home Shield for my microwave issue was easy. There is a period though in the process where I sit in limbo waiting to be contacted by their third party contractor. Still, the process is straightforward. AHS sent out two techs and both of them were good. They did their jobs well and worked quickly. But then, the recommended replacement unit was on backorder. The techs ended up choosing a different microwave which was just as nice and replaced my microwave with that. The rep who helped me fix that snafu did great. She was understanding of the situation.

My ice maker was not working and my water has stopped working too. I submitted the claim on a Thursday and the tech came the following Thursday. I was satisfied with the timeframe. The tech replaced the pipe that make the water come through. It had a leak in there and then we had the ice tray replaced. They had to send us an ice tray because he didn't have one on hand. But it went fine. It was a good experience. I like AHS. I've used it quite a few times. It's working out well for me. My AC not cooling well and when I submitted a claim with AHS, Express Comfort came out first. They diagnosed that there was a leak and said they needed to replace the evaporator coil. They also said that they may needed to do modifications to the unit to the tune of about $1,100. I asked for a second opinion and Epic Air came out. They said that it was low on Freon and that it was a possible leak. So they put the Freon in with leak sealant and that worked. The AC is cooling now and we’re doing well. Epic was great and professional. Their tech was upfront, explained everything, and very transparent. But Express, not so much. Their techs were not professional and while the person in their office was polite, courteous and professional, I felt like they had some dishonest or shady business practices. And that was the thing that didn't sit well with me in dealing with Express.
All in all, Epic saved the day because they came in and they fixed the AC. So, ultimately, I was satisfied. As for AHS, there was a lot of confusion with them. I had to follow up with them because they kept sending my claim over to Express. They would communicate one thing with me, then the contractor would communicate with them, and it would be a totally different story. They would not follow up with me either and I don't know whose responsibility it was, the contractor or American Home Shield. Time would pass, days would pass, and I would reach out to them again only to find that something happened but nobody bothered to make me aware of it. So I had to reach out to them a couple of times to keep the ball rolling.

I used the website of American Home Shield to submit a claim. It was user-friendly and easy to navigate. Once I received an email notification from AHS that a contractor was assigned, I contacted the plumber directly to schedule an appointment. The contractors were responsive and professional. We haven't encountered any further issues. Hot water seems to be working. Overall, my experience with AHS was positive. However, I felt like I had to be more proactive in obtaining information and the status of my claim. A little bit more reaching out from customer service or any of the representatives or the contractors would be helpful to know what is occurring with the current claim.

American Home Shield has been absolutely great to me every time I'm calling. They’re very considerate and they provided me with very swift answers. I'm very happy with their company. One time, a technician from Affordable Leak Detection came out to my house about four times because the problem wasn’t solved from the beginning. I'm not a very much technically inclined person but my understanding was that the issue was the condensation pipes. In my garage, there was a little leak at the very end of the pipe where it goes directly to the sewage lines and the technician fixed the leak.
He went to my attic and fixed the connections over there where all the condensation part started to go down. He placed also new joints on at least a couple places and he wrapped all the condensation pipes in a special material to prevent them from collecting water from the humidity. He said it will help to prevent the water to get on the pipes itself from the outside where it can stop the drip.
The technician was a very nice and knowledgeable person and the reason he came several times was because he didn't want to do something where he just guessed. He needed to see what was going on with his own eyes. He fixed one joint and he said, “Let's wait a week and see how it goes.” The next week, he called, came and noticed that there was something else that needed to be fixed in that very same area (condensation type things in my attic). Eventually, he fixed everything. Since then, I checked at least once (because it’s hard for me to go to attic) and everything works fine.

Max Cool Air Conditioning came and fixed my air conditioner, but I wasn't too happy about them. They were giving me quotes on new air conditioners and they were telling me $7,500. I’ve looked into that and they're only about 3,500 'cause my home is only 800 square feet. It's a small home. Anyway, I have read online too that apparently, they're good at telling people 7,500 across the board to anyone. I figured if I needed them again, and I call American Home Shield, they're overpricing. The other thing with them is they told me that if it went out again, not to call American Home Shield, but to call them directly. I would call American Home Shield though.
One more thing is that I got a text message wanting me to rate Max and the guy wanted me to rate them right then and there. He then wanted to take a picture of it that it was successful, so that way, he knew exactly what I was saying. I was not happy with them as far as that and I wouldn't want that Max again if I had an air conditioning problem. Apart from that, I've never had a problem with American Home Shield. I've had them for over 10 years for different places we've lived and it's been great. They've always taken care of any problem I've had and that's why I keep them.

The appliance is only two years old. It’s an LG. But by pulling the knob off to clean it, the inside mechanism broke in half. I would have replaced it but I couldn't get it out. And then, when the tech came over, there was a lot more to it. It only took him a short while. He was very good, kind and considerate. Applifix handled the claim with expertise so I was very pleased with that.
I was always with OneGuard Home Warranties, which American Home Shield bought. My daughter-in-law has American Home Shield. I switched over to them because she said, “Oh, you gotta try this.” I said, “Okay.” My house has been totally remodeled so every room has been touched. And since I'm a Realtor, I believe in having home warranties. Every one of my sales, I gave to OneGuard. But at $75, Home Shield is more expensive annually than OneGuard. Their fees seem to be more expensive than OneGuard so I may go back to OneGuard. For a bit more, I wanted to see how they were compared to OneGuard. But right now, the claim was handled very quickly and very nicely.
The only problem I have is it takes forever for anybody to respond. I did not have that problem with OneGuard. But still, the service that Home Shield gave after the claim was filed was terrific. But getting in touch with people, they should hire more staff to give better service that way. I would be embarrassed if I have to refer them and they don't get contact right away.
Thanks for providing your feedback. We are working around the clock to manage the call volume better and we thank you for you patience during the process.

One thing that we really, really appreciated was that the gentleman who came out immediately went outside, looked upstairs, came back and said he fixed it. Our AC unit is quite old but he said it was a simple fix. He also said that he knew we're gonna have to replace it at some time soon but if he could buy us a year, he knew that was important to us especially with COVID and everything going on right now. We spent two nights in a motel because of this.
TJ from Arnon Rooter was out here the next morning and he ran a camera down. He thought at first I had tree roots and there were no tree roots. He came out and did the Roto-Rooter thing, the snake from the main system, and two days later, I was doing laundry and there was water coming up in the tub downstairs. He came back out and did the little snake in the standpipe next to the washer. Now everything's fine. He was very competent and he did everything he could do. Also, he was honest with me about what was going on.
AHS has been good to us. The price keeps going up but that's pretty normal. My husband is simply not capable of doing anything to help anymore and everybody has been real good to work around my husband and all of his appliances. The claims process is easy. You can go online and click whichever repair you need. Hurliman Heating & AC came out, and the guy looked at it and said he didn't see anything, but he would certainly service it. He cleaned it and went outside and cleaned the big thing outside, he cleaned the coil downstairs in the heating thing downstairs, and he said that as far as he could see, the problem was it was dirty and it wasn’t unable to keep up.
It worked fine for a couple of days and then it started doing the same thing again. That was when I called back again, and the guy came out and he looked. The first guy came out and said, "Oh, you got too much of Freon in your air conditioning unit. That's just why it's not working." So, he took some Freon out and he left. The next day, I called back and said, "This idiot that came out yesterday took Freon out. It's still not working. What a surprise." He put some back in and then he left. That wasn't the problem. The third guy came out and said, "I don't see any problem, wrong with it." I said, "Really? Walk in the house. It's 85 degrees. You don't see anything wrong with it?" And he left.
When I called Home Shield back, I said, "I want a different company out here. I don't want those people ever step foot in my house again." "Well, we're gonna have to charge you an extra service call." I said, "No. You won't. I won't pay another $125 when this problem hasn't been fixed." "Well, okay. We'll waive that fee." But that was the only problem I ever had with Home Shield. I've had good luck with them.

The bathroom tub and sink were slow draining and then there was a problem with the shower. I sent a request over the internet and they said someone would reach out within a couple of days. The guys that came here were great. They were in and out in no time. They knew what they were doing. It wasn't a major issue, so they were able to resolve it in a timely manner. Everything's still working fine.
Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. We are happy that we were able to get the issue resolved for you. Our goal is to pair you with the best contractor that knowledgeable and able to explain what is going on. We look forward to our continued business together. Have a good day.

There was a noise coming from my swamp cooler. It sounded like something came loose and was touching the fan but when the technician came out, what he found was a paper bag. Somehow, it got in there and he removed it. He wasn't here that long. He was in and out, and he was very friendly and nice. American Home Shield is good although sometimes, they don't get back to you as soon as they can.

We called American Home Shield for a garbage disposal issue. Water was backing up into the sink. We were given a three-hour window for All Points Plumbing to come out. My husband was very impressed with the service guy and the service provided. He was very knowledgeable and he took the time to explain things to my husband. The issue was because of the water disposal. Everything is working fine now.

The AC just stopped working after maintenance. I did a claim to American Home Shield through the online form, and a technician was scheduled the next day. It was pretty quick. United Air Temp of Georgia came out and everything went well. The AC worked for that day, and then the next day, it stopped working so I had to redo the claim again. The tech was sent out again within a couple of days, and it's worked since. The tech was on time. He was professional and a pretty nice guy. Having American Home Shield, it's hassle free if something goes wrong.

I contacted American Home Shield about my water heater issue and then they assigned a contractor to fix it and provided me the contractor's information. They contacted the company that was gonna fix it and the company contacted me within 48 hours to make an appointment. They were able to fix the problem and we're happy with it. It was excellent customer service from Home Shield.

I called Home Shield and they gave me the contractor's number, then I called them and made an appointment. It happened on the weekend. So on Saturday, they couldn't do anything. The unit still worked, but it just blew light cold air. Also, the temperature went up to 82 in the house, which was still not bad for 102 outside. But it was warm, so we had to turn to fans. But everything was great. Good process. And Monday morning, the contractor showed up.
When the gentleman called me, he said, "Turn the unit off" and I didn't understand. It was my bad. I had to go to work. So, my daughter stayed. She had to turn everything off and the tech had to come back again. But what happened was, apparently, the unit got frozen. And because of that, that was what the malfunction was. The gentleman turned the unit off, and with a heat that day, which was about 102, it melted everything. He did a test. He put some more Freon and he reset the whole thing. It now works perfectly. It was a total difference. Plus, whatever the tech did with the Freon and reset the whole system, the unit works like a new one. It's cold and it blows strongly. I'm happy with AHS.

My husband does claims with American Home Shield both online and by phone then we follow up. We had a claim for our dryer and a contractor was assigned to us. They called us and we told them that the dyer was not heating. They asked for the model number of the dryer and they ordered the part that they thought was needed. When the tech came out, he brought the right part, which is an igniter. He popped it in and it worked right away. Everything was great. But we felt like we got the runaround with the repair company. It took us three or four weeks. My husband had to make numerous calls until we finally nailed them down.
The problem was not with American Home Shield but with the contractor's customer service. My husband called and they haven't heard anything and they haven't been able to get the part. The rep was gonna call and check with the provider to see when they would anticipate having the part back in stock. But she never called back so my husband called and got the very same wording the second time. By then, my husband was getting pretty ticked. He let American Home Shield know what was going on and they called and talked with the contractor. After that, the contractor got back with us and said they were able to order the part and they were gonna set up a date to come out.
For another claim regarding our dishwasher, we had Sears as our contractor and they were amazing. Their tech came out, looked at the unit, and told us he couldn't do a replacement. We called American Home Shield and they said Sears had ordered the part even though the guy already said the dishwasher couldn't be repaired. American Home Shield said they could replace the unit. They followed up and we got a new dishwasher.
Aside from this house, we had American Home Shield in Iowa. Since we did the home warranty, we've had numerous things repaired and replaced. If something goes and it's due to normal wear and tear, they take care of it. If you wanna upgrade, you can pay the difference in the fees. I wanted a better and nicer dishwasher, which was a Whirlpool, so I had to pay the difference between what they were gonna give us and that. We've also gotten a washer replaced twice and the furnace underneath the house replaced. They paid part of that because part of it was due to faulty installation. It was 50% or 80% of it. We paid 800. The only thing about American Home Shield is sometimes when you call, you have to hold on the line forever to get somebody. But you can always place your order online too. We're just old and we like to talk to people.

We had our pool pump replaced thru American Home Shield. It was later in the day that we made the appointment. American Home Shield set up the appointment, the service company called the next day and set up their appointment, and their service people were out the following day. They’ve already been out to repair it twice. This time, they offered us to pay the difference ‘cause our deductible had already gone up to replace it with a more electric efficient pump instead of attempting to rebuild it again for a third time. We had a good experience but the cost with American Home Shield is going up.
I am happy that you were happy with your experience. Although we hope there are no issues with anything in the home in the future, we are here to service you anytime you need us. Thanks for continuing your business with us. Take care!

A guy who works for GE named Danny came out the first time. My dryer was making a weird noise and he fixed it. Second time I called, he came out to fix my refrigerator because the water wasn't coming out. I loved Danny. He was really sweet and very informative. He was real quick and the refrigerator was working. He put in a new filter. Then he took the face off of the water and ice maker and he installed a new electrical thing. I watched him put that in and take the old one out. Then he gave me another one and then two or three more filters. I paid for that with a credit card because he sold me at a cheaper price. I could get more, so I did.
The last time that I called American Home Shield, the rep was weird. The water doesn't work again. He talked to me and he said they would have somebody come out. I told him that I was told that I wouldn't be charged another $100 for the same project. He said, "You're right. You won't." Then he told me he was gonna have to call GE and then call me back. So we ended our discussion and I waited for him to call but he never called back.

I had First American at one time but I had to let them go. I tried American Home Shield on a whim and I'm very pleased so far. It’s going great. The claim process is fine. They call me in a day and make appointments. The only one where I had to wait was the plumber because he said he was backed up and I didn't wanna call and get somebody else. I was satisfied with him though.
When I had All City Plumbing as a contractor for my tenant's apartment, everything was fine. The tech was very pleasant. My only problem is they don't supply receipts. I require receipts because I turn those in to my insurance. The tech told me he had to get it from American Home Shield because I paid them. But I forgot to call because two people came out. American Home Shield should supply the receipts when a job is completed. I keep a book too. I shouldn’t have any call them back to get those.

The hot water heater was leaking from the top and Home Shield sent a tech out to fix the leak. Then, water was gushing out from the right and the valve didn't work so I went to shut it off from the street. I called again and they made a mistake and sent an air condition guy instead about a week and a half ago. The guy saw it was gushing out from the meter on the street. They didn't close that right either. He cut the pipe that goes into the hot water boiler to not waste a lot of water. Then, Home Choice came in and they saw that somebody worked on it. The tech didn't wanna touch it and he went away. I got somebody else for 50 bucks to connect the boiler. But Home Shield is great. When I speak to them, they're very nice.

American Home Shield doesn't answer the phone in a timely manner. There was probably a 10-minute hold time six months to a year ago and it's definitely much worse right now. I've been on hold for an hour before and they've said it's because of COVID. I'm trying to put it through the online method instead of calling in. But for the most part, their customer service ends up being fine. You just have to go slow enough for the people who are out of the country, so they can understand you. There's a little bit of a language barrier but it's not terrible. Other than that, they're choosing good contractors and the work is getting done in a timely manner. I have about five contracts with them and I still tell people that it's still a good service to have.

The most recent claim we had with AHS was for plumbing. Initially, I submitted it online but we had a couple of plumbing issues and I wanted to put multiple claims under it. I wanted to ensure that they were all documented. There were limitations online so I called. Calling tends to be very frustrating. You can be on hold for an hour or more and then, there's the language barrier you have to try to overcome. Sometimes I don't know the accent. Also, you can't get in touch with the contractor. They receive the work order and if you wanna add to that work order, you have to go through Home Shield, which is cool but kind of redundant. Then, Home Shield can't put in the add-on until they contact the contractor. It has happened where the contractor came and they claimed they never knew of an add-on to the work order. I find there's always an issue with the communication between Home Shield and the contractor.
For this most recent work order, I had to call three times to ensure that they were able to contact the contractor to add that additional item in that work order. The first two times, they said they weren't able to get in touch with the contractor. I was adamant because I know how this process works. They said they would contact me to let me know that it's been added on and twice, I never heard anything. But the repair has been done.
In the contracting business, sometimes you'd get contractors that would say they would be out Monday and you wait till Monday and they wouldn't show up. I don't have that issue going through Home Shield but I wouldn't recommend it to someone for their own home. Once the contractors come out, items get repaired and that's the most important thing but it can be very stressful getting to that point with Home Shield.

When I bought my house, the company I bought it from gave me one year of American Home Shield and I continued that. I feel good about it. The claim process is okay. One of the features that I really like about submitting the claim with American Home Shield is if it's gonna be a long wait, they let you leave your number and they will call you back when they are available. You don't have stay on the phone for an hour.
The Service People have been out for a few different plumbing issues and they always fix them really well. I like them a lot. I live in a manufactured house that's 14-feet wide and 80-feet long. Most contractors will not get underneath my house to fix the plumbing. But The Service People will do that and they always fix issues promptly and efficiently like when I had a plumbing part that broke underneath the home and it needed to be replaced. They had to go buy some parts. Home Depot is the only place that carries parts for the plumbing I have in this house. The techs came right back and resolved the issue on the same day. They do that every time. I'm very happy with them.

But the guy from A-US that came out was really good. I really liked his work. He was very good and professional. He checked everything and he was great. When you file a claim AHS, you have to talk to a machine that doesn't understand. I don't like that. I filed a claim for a plumber and the machine couldn't answer what I was saying. So it just reported a leak, and my issue wasn't just a leak. So when the guys came out, they said that the problem was way more than they thought so they had to go back. That has been about two weeks and I still haven't had a result from that. So it could've been easier for me and easier for them if I explained the issue to a live person.

American Home Shield assigned Loyalty Home Services for a claim I had. They called me to let me know that they had gotten the request for the repair and that somebody would be out at a certain time. Somebody would call to let me know that they were on the way and everything was followed through. A gentleman then came out. I had problems with my outside faucets as both of them were leaking. The tech repaired them and was done within 30 to 40 minutes. He was very informative, friendly, and professional. The service was very good.
A more recent claim I had was regarding my garbage disposal. It was running but it was leaking from the bottom. I had the disposal replaced two or three years ago, and it wasn't rusted. Pruitt was my contractor for this. I placed the request online, received a call from Pruitt, and they told me the time they'd be out was between 10:00 and 2:00. They came out sometime after 12:00. I got the call and they were in the area. I watched for them and I had my mask ready. They were coming into the home. Before they even get out of their car, they had their mask on.
They announced themselves and I greeted them at the door before they even rang the doorbell. I told them what the problem was and they said they would take a look at it. There were two techs and one was an apprentice. They were very professional and informative. One tech turned the water on and saw that it was dripping from the bottom. They looked at the model and said they were gonna have to upgrade me because they didn't have the particular model I had with them. They gave me a 1.0 motor. They had no problems installing it and the job took about 20 to 25 minutes. Everything was done.
All in all, the services I've been receiving from American Shield have been fine. The plumbing was pretty good. But I had an issue when I had my air conditioner taken care of last summer. It wasn't to the point where it would shut down though. It just took a little bit of time to get the part. But I wish the price of American Home Shield would go down. I'm on work furlough and I've been looking at a few things that I'm gonna cut back on. American Home Shield is one of the things on my list because I'm having a little bit of a hard time paying my bills right now.
