    I've had some good and bad experiences with different service providers that AHS has sent to my home. I had issues with the demeanor of one of the techs, his refusal to wear a mask, and his inability to solve my problem. I've been having problems with my dishwasher for several months and my experience after submitting my claim went up and down. AHS has to replace the dishwasher but they haven't yet.

    We had a claim to American Home Shield for the icemaker. Submitting that claim was excellent. The repair people did come a few times because they had to order the parts but at the end, we were very happy. It took time to get the part, but they did follow up. They stayed on top of it, and then they fixed it. They were very good and very professional. We also had a small issue with the microwave, and the service on that was done very nicely too. We were very impressed with American Home Shield, and we recommended at least half a dozen people to join.

    All Temp Heating & AC did a great job and they were fast. We really appreciated that they had it fixed on the same day I put in the request because it was really cold. The heater has been working great since then. Two years ago, our dishwasher was replaced by American Home Shield. It's supposed to be a brand new replacement from them but it has broken three times on different parts. Other than that, my experience with AHS has been great. They respond fast and it's easy to put in a request. They have improved for online service. Before, we had to pay the technician ourselves and some of them charge taxes. They get the service fee directly online so I don't have to pay the technician.

    Getting through to AHS has not been terribly The faucet in my guest bathroom was dripping and the tech who came cracked the wall in the shower. He pissed me off that way but he did what he was supposed to do. I was a little upset after he left and after I left a review but he was fine.

    I had a terrible call with American Home Shield because I was quite ticked off. I asked to talk to a supervisor and the last person I talked to said, “Well, it doesn't work this way.” I've been without heat for 10 days now. I am so unhappy. The initial call was on the 19th. Koning Mechanical came out and replaced the thermal coupler. The unit ran and then there was a problem immediately. There was still something not right with the unit. I called the technician that was out here to talk to him almost within a few hours and then I called American Home Shield. They said, “Well, we have to wait till the paper comes in. And we really can't do anything right now.” So still, that was a problem.

    I kept calling and calling the next day and the gentleman from Koning that did the initial work sent me a text saying he was on vacation for Thanksgiving for next week. American Home Shield needed to get a new company to come out. I had to make a couple of calls and then they finally called another company called Climate Masters to come out. The guy came out on the 21st and he looked it over. He told me they had to clean the baffles and he would try to be back before the day before Christmas. I didn't have any heat and he said he just had to wait to hear back from American Home Shield. The next day I called him, and he said he hadn't heard anything. I called American Home Shield, and they said they haven't had his report back, so they couldn't okay anything.

    I said, “Okay” and the next day went by. I called again. I said, “What the heck is going on?” The lady named Diane said, “Well, the problem is they have to get authorization now because they're replacing the unit.” I said, “Well, the guy said he had to just clean the baffles out. It would take about three hours.” She said, “Well, no. They just gonna replace it and they need authorization.” I said, “Oh jeez. Okay.” I knew I was not gonna have no heat for Christmas. Another day went and I knew it was Christmas. I was not gonna be crazy about that. I have a very large house and I have eight heaters running right now. I called today to say, “What's going on?” and the person I talked to said they were waiting for the report.

    I've called so many times, and every time, they were waiting for the report. Now, I called them and went crazy. She told me the same thing the person told me the day before, “We're going to escalate this. I’m escalating it, we're going to find out what's going on. And we're going to get this taken care of.” In the meantime, all of this on Christmas at 3 o'clock in the morning, one of the radiators out in the hallway that goes upstairs froze and cracked. Water was going everywhere, flooding the house and raining on the wall. I called and they still had no answer for me. I don't know anything and that's the point.

    American Home Shield has been fine in the six years I've been with them. But, submitting claims takes too long due to service processing. Other than that, speaking with customer service has been good and the repair work the tech from United Air Temp did was excellent. AHS's techs need to fix things on the first run though.

    American Home Shield first issued my claim to a company that was an hour and a half away from me. Then, instead of just transferring me to a new company, I had to have a new work order put in, which was another delay and another charge. I had to wait another 48 hours for the work order to go through and for another company to be assigned. And I'm still waiting for the refund of the first service fee. But the contractor who came out has been wonderful. The gentleman from Air & Water Solutions came in a timely manner and assessed the problem. The service is not complete because they had to order the unit, which will arrive for pick-up on the 31st of December.

    Also, I asked AHS originally if they could do Air & Water Solutions because they have been to my house before, but AHS would not do that because that company was not "in the queue." They have an order of who they contact so that the same person doesn't get contacted all the time. However, it needs to be addressed that AHS can't just assign some company that is an hour and a half away because they're next in the queue.

    Water was leaking down into my kitchen. The tech opened up the wall around the sprinkler where the water was coming into the kitchen then opened the wall behind the washing machine, which is upstairs, and he fixed the plumbing. But now, I have a hole in my kitchen and a hole behind the washing machine. He said that I would get a call from somebody to repair that but I would have to paint it myself. That happened before Christmas.

    The vendor that AHS used was Premier Plumbing and they screwed up. I had a plumbing leak in my bathroom upstairs. They installed a faucet that doesn't even match the one I have. There's a stopper thing that goes behind the faucet and you can just pull the thing all the way out. It doesn't even stop anything. The guy had to push holes in it because he said it came from the factory with dirt in it, which was a lie because they probably used something that they have from somebody else's house. When I turned the water on to the right, the water that trickled out was cold. They have come in here and screw things up. But I don't even want Premier Plumbing coming back into my house ever again.

    AHS was recommended to me. I had Sears and another company before. AHS has been the worst company that I've ever dealt with. If I call them and I have two or three claims on one call, one of the claims is dropped off. And when I had somebody come and fix my stove, he ordered the wrong part. He tried to fix the stove using that wrong part and gas was leaking in my house. Techs had to come back because of that. It took months to fix that.

    I'm also still waiting for parts for my refrigerator and freezer. That was a totally separate call. I'm waiting for the hose for my dishwasher too but I have already gotten a survey to close the ticket so I don't know if the claim is closed or open. I called a lady and asked her if it was listed in there that they still had something that they needed to fix. She said she was gonna call me back but she never did. I'm assuming that we're still waiting on the part because the guy said the part was on backorder.

    When we need American Home Shield, they're there. When filing a claim, it's pretty easy if we have our American Home Shield number, but if we don't have it handy, then it could be a little cumbersome to find it and get going. Pro-Tec came out a couple weeks prior because the toilet overflowed in our home. There wasn't anything they had to do at that point because the guy couldn't come up with the root cause of why the toilet overflowed. They were such great and nice guys, conversational-wise, to work with.

    Recently, there was a blockage in a pipe that caused the airway to suck water from the dishwasher through the plumbing system from the garbage disposal. It was kinda cumbersome because, at first, we thought it was something wrong with the dishwasher but weren't sure as water was just sitting in there. I didn't wanna flood in here because the water was coming out of the dishwasher. That was what I was most concerned with because I couldn't mess up my hardwood floors. But then we noticed the garbage disposal wasn't turning or working at all.

    When we tried to explain what the issue was initially and to request Pro-Tec Plumbing to come out just for their customer service and rapport being out here the first time, there was a little bit of a language barrier to understand exactly what was going on and why we wanted Pro-Tec. Trying to explain that was difficult. American Home Shield wanted to send Sears out to fix the dishwasher and we kept saying that we think the dishwasher works, but it's more so the garbage disposal and the pool through the pipes. After 30 minutes of talking, the girl said to get Pro-Tec out.

    When the guy from Pro-Tec Plumbing came, the first thing he did was to take out some type of ventilation thing that sucks the water through the pipes. It was totally clogged and nasty and stuff. Once he mitigated that, he was able to understand that when he turned on the dishwasher, the garbage disposal was not cooling and functioning as it should. It ended up replacing that garbage disposal as well. Once he was able to do that, the functionality of the pool through the pipes ended up working in the kitchen sink.

    I had a plumbing claim earlier this year that I found out some things were not covered. When I bought the plan, they said my septic was covered for pumping and then, they tried to tell me that wasn't covered because it was outside the home. I understand the septic cannot be in your home. It's too big. I was trying to talk to AHS. It was very difficult to try to get them to understand what was going on. In my most recent claim, a part on my pool pump broke and submitting a claim to American Home Shield was quick but I had an issue with that. The rep made it sound like everything was covered and then, you find out after the fact it's not. It was a simple part but that's what I've been getting a lot of lately.

    I did a claim for two faucets. One was in the bathroom and the other was in the kitchen. The repair guy who came was nice and pleasant. He did an excellent job when he came out and replaced the one in the kitchen. In the bathroom though, there are two faucets and the one that's broken doesn't match the other one. When he went to the bathroom, he said, "Yeah, that's broken." Unfortunately, he couldn't find one that matches, so what he had to do was go out and buy two of them. In order to match the faucets, I've got to pay $165 for the repair guy to change the other one after I already paid the 75. I didn't think that's fair and that made me not very happy.

    This happened a couple of days before New Year's. The repair guy asked me when he could come back over, and I was going to call to ask American Home Shield what they were going to do about it before I answered him. I'm a real estate broker and I own two companies with 30 agents. It's important for me to know some of the procedures and what they're going to do.

    My heating claim to American Home Shield went through when I called. Right away, they asked me all information and it went fast. After I submitted my claim, the technicians called me right away. They were brilliant. They asked me what the problem was and then from there, they took over. I noticed they were very professional and know what they're doing.     What I thought was a leak turned out to be a small puncture in the sink and it's a stainless steel sink. All I did was I filled the sink up when we had first got here to soak some dishes, and it seemed fine. Then a couple of days later, I did the same thing, and then I woke up in the morning, and the sink was empty and the floor was a little bit wet. I looked under the sink. I came to find out it's a pinhole in the stainless steel sink, which my brain would have told me, "They sell that stuff that fixes gas tanks and stuff and it's a quick fix." But what happened was I said, "Let me use my insurance because that's what it's there for." So, I called American Home Shield. It did cost me 75 bucks. 1st American Plumbing came out. What I really appreciated about the service was the speed at which they acted. They came within a day or two. The guy came in with a flashlight in his forehead, and he quickly identified the problem. Everything was professional.

    The guy said the water leak was in the shower and for me not to use my shower. I hadn't used that shower since they left here which is going on 3 weeks now but I still got a leak. There's still water standing in my floor so it's a pipe somewhere leaking and I guess they didn't want to find it so they just said it was the shower that was leaking. When they come to your house and they see a woman, they think the woman doesn't know. My floor costs $2,000 and it's messed up 'cause they didn't fix the problem at all. The guy told me he never experienced anything like this. Why did he come out if he ain't a licensed plumber?

    We got to a claim representative and I told her that I felt like it was a water leak. Now, I got to find me a plumber and do it all over. I got to still pay another $100 fee in order to get somebody out here. American Home Shield should send somebody out here and get my bathroom together. Why am I paying them and they can't fix the problem? I'm very unhappy with them.

    If anything breaks, all I have to do is go online and just put in what's going on. Usually, the turnaround time is very quick. Recently, the microwave was out. Unitech Appliance had to come out twice. The first time only lasted for a day and then they had to order me a part. The part came in about three days. It was a very fast turnaround. The same guy came back out. He was very professional, explained what he was doing, and explained what we need to look for in case that happens again. He replaced it and it took him less than 10 minutes.

    There was an issue with our air conditioning system. The thermostat, apparently, wasn't talking to the air conditioner, so, it wasn't connected to it properly. We have one of the Nest systems and the tech that AHS sent out was able to figure out the problem with the heater and the sensor that was stuck. So, he quickly repaired it and was on his way. He was able to do it on the same day and everything worked out fine. All in all, American Home Shield's claims process was very good.

    I had Old Republic for over 20 years but I decided to change providers because I'm putting the property into a renter status and I wanted to make sure the appliances and all of that stuff were taken care of. A friend of mine has American Home Shield and she was adamant that they were good so I decided to switch. My first experience with calling AHS was for a plumbing claim and trying to get someone to come to my home was horrible. It took three different times for their person to come and then I had to ask for a second sub to come to my home. One of the claims I have right now is a pipe leak and the plumber who came out said he doesn't see a leak, although we see all the water, so there was nothing he could do. He told me I have 30 days to call him back if I see the leak. I'm just gonna pay a plumber to change the whole pipe. AHS has poor subcontractors.

    American Home Shield has quality service and I'm glad I have it. They always respond in a timely manner for any of the needs that we've had over the last few years. They have really good access too. They get really busy because of our 2020 environment but they are always available. Sometimes it takes a little while to get in, but many times, it's within a few minutes. I usually use my online account if I need services sometime. The only thing that I've noticed is that there's quite a bit of downtime. For example, when you get an appliance repair approved, to get reimbursed, that seems to be a little bit slower than the rest of their implementation. That's probably because of the number of claims they get. I'm still waiting for a check for a replacement stove on a rental property. I just put a new stove in too.

    I have talked to my friends that have income properties and told them that for single houses, American Home Shield is a really good asset to have to back up. With houses getting old, your infrastructure and your heating systems start wearing out. They're not designed to last nowadays. I tell all my friends that they're missing the boat unless they get American Home Shield. The price is so reasonable. It's worth its weight in gold.

    I'm not happy with the new system. When you put in your claim or you try to get your approval number, it should be easier. Filing a claim has gotten more difficult than it was at first. We used to just make a phone call. This last time, I tried to make a phone call and it said to do it online. I tried to do it online and nothing worked right. Finally, I called the billing department because I figured if there's one thing they're going to answer about, it's their money. I did get a live person who then helped.

    I'm disgruntled about this new way of getting Attwoods out here. I called them myself and I don't remember doing that before. I got the number over the phone and made the appointment myself. In the past, AHS made the appointment and Attwoods called us. But the technicians from Attwoods are fine. They've been here about four times and they're always pleasant and professional. They're usually on time and they seem to know what they're doing.

    AHS has provided good service. Recently, there was no power to the thermostat so Carolina Air Heating and Cooling came out and the guy said he reset the breaker. He was great. He was very professional, got the job done and didn't waste any time. However, there were different timelines before he showed up. When I submitted for it, they said it would be soon then I eventually got assigned a company. When they knew what my appointment was, they called me and talked to me about it.

    The air was blowing out cold then the furnace went completely off. I submitted a claim with AHS and when the tech they sent out checked the thermostat, there was a piece that was bent. He quickly unbent it, fixed the piece, and placed it back up there. He told me what to do operationally, including when changing the batteries, and he did really well. On the same week, I also used AHS when we had a water leak. The techs had to come and cap off the pipes. All in all, my experience with AHS has been pretty swift. But they don't have any emergency services and I really don't like that. If I were to call another plumber, they can come ASAP if you make a call to their emergency line. With the situation of the water leaking, I had to call the fire department because I live in a rural area. And they had to come and shut off the water until the person got there the next day. But I didn't have to wait two or three days.

    Other than that, my very first experience with AHS was not as fun. It had something to do with the washer and dryer and they sent out a tech who said it was an electricity issue. But when I bought this house, I knew for a fact that the guy that did the inspection said that there was nothing wrong with anything electrical in this house. AHS then sent out an electrician and he said that the problem was not the electricity, it was the washer and dryer. So, AHS sent the tech back out and he confirmed that. He then had to wait for parts and that was not fun for me because I didn't have a dryer for two and a half weeks. But for the most part, my experience with AHS was good.

    Going through all the telephone prompts before you get to talk to a real person rather than a computer is absolutely awful, especially if you use a plural. Two of my toilets are out and the computer simply said toilet. When the repair people eventually called to make an appointment, I said there are two toilets that are leaking at the same time, and they said, "We've only got a work order for one."

    I had to call back, start back over, and then explain that I asked for two toilets. It took almost half an hour and over two days to say the right word to a real human being because it would only compute as one toilet. I had to do a separate work order. Once the people came out to fix them, everything was fine. Now, one of the toilets is working fine, while the other one seems to be leaking a little and they said they were going to come back out.

    All in all, American Home Shield should get their computer fixed and have people on the other end that can speak English. Everybody has been very nice and respectful, but when people can't speak English well, they try and overtalk you from a script rather than listening to what you have to say. When you call Verizon or somebody else to get some help, you go through maddening prompts before you ever get to talk to a human being. That's where we are with Home Shield as well.

    The AC wasn't heating and the thing was just running constantly. The service guy from Best HVAC took the thermostat thing apart. There was a problem with that and there was also a problem with the filters in there that were too heavy. He got it all taken care of. He knew what he was doing and it seems to be running really well now. He was very professional and very careful about everything. AHS is very responsive and I've been really pleased.     When the Sears repairman came out, he found out that he couldn’t fix the ice maker. There was a valve that was short. He tried to call to see if he could get the part but he couldn't, so he said they would have to call me back to see if they could order from another distributor. Within three days, I got an email from American Home Shield, stating that they were going to replace the refrigerator, instead of trying to fix it because they couldn't find the part. They looked up the same kind of refrigerator I had, a Whirlpool with the same options on it. It was black, stainless steel. They also told me that if I didn't want that one, they would give me $2,173 on a card, and I could go to Lowe's and buy it with that card. Or else, I could buy it outright, send them the paperwork, and they would pay me the difference up to that amount.

    They were giving me a very, very fair deal. So, my wife and I took the black stainless steel, and they said within two or three days, it'll be shipped to me. I'm looking to get it next week. The whole process with their associates was really outstanding. American Home Shield tried to do this claim with Whirlpool company instead of Sears. But Whirlpool did not do the job that they were supposed to do. You couldn’t get them on the phone to set up appointments at times that someone came out. I'd be on the phone with them 30 or 40 minutes. Whirlpool Corporation was really slow on the job. So American Home Shield should drop Whirlpool and go with Sears.

There’s one contractor I really like to have. Bill is the owner and he’s great. Some of them have been good to me but they didn’t wanna come that early. With the last claim, the contractor wanted for me to wait after Thanksgiving which was about two weeks. I called back and the rep got me somebody right away.

    Perfect Temp HVAC came to work on my heating. They were really good. They were one of the better contractors I've had from American Home Shield. I've had this insurance on two different properties over the course of the last four years. Submitting claims is easy. It probably is easier if I use the website. But I do use the phone when I get past the annoying music that's on there that’s always too loud. I like the new voiceover they've got on the automated system. It seems much better.

    The tech was really great. He took a lot of responsibility, was really clean, punctual and courteous. He was the owner of the company and they always take more responsibility. As far as American Home Shield, there were some things that have happened that I'm not happy about. There's been an exclusion of sump pump and ejector pump coverage.     I was heating my pool and everything was fine, and then the pump on the pool stopped working. When the service person came, he checked the pump and opened it up and said that it was getting electricity, and that it seemed to be fine. Nothing was burnt out and it didn't need to be replaced. He went further and helped me to understand that somehow the automatic system stopped working, and I needed to reset it. I didn't know how to do that. So he instructed me who to call for that. He didn't have to do much work. It was just that I didn't understand my own system. But he was extremely helpful and kind of tutored me in different parts of the system. So I was able to get it all working that day, and it's been working fine. The service person was very professional and friendly.     Our experience with AHS was surprisingly easy and it was effortless on our part. The gentleman that they sent explained what he did and American Home Shield itself was very responsive. They didn't give me the runaround and it was not like pulling teeth trying to get them to do the job. I had an issue with American Home Shield in the past but this time, they were perfect. I would tell others that the warranty gives you peace of mind and that they should get it if they can afford it. If they have an older home, I'd recommend getting it. Even if you have a new home you should get it as well because new homes don't last as long as the old. They just don't build them like they used to. This is my mom's house and it was built in 1971, that's why I got the warranty for it. But I have the warranty at my house, too and it was built in 2005.

    My heating system wasn't coming on and American Home Shield sent someone out here right before Christmas. The young man said that he had to get a part and that took about another week for them to come back out. He came first and assessed that it wasn't working. When the part came in, he came and put it in. It ran for a couple of days then it wasn't blowing any heat. By the time he came back out, we kept switching from automatic to online, and it had come on. When he came in, he did whatever and it wound up working. However, I'm getting a couple of days of heat then it goes out. It goes to a blower that's giving cool air but it's not giving hot air. He said that it has to roll over.

    I was asking American Home Shield that I needed to have another person come in to give a second opinion even if I had to pay another fee because it's not working. He initially said, "We want to want to send them out one more time." I said, "If you're going to send them out another time, maybe you need to send somebody who's really experienced." I need for it work. This is just the beginning of the winter. I live in New Orleans and we've been having flip flops. Now, the heat's been coming on, but we left it on and it just kept going. When you put it on automatic, it just goes off. I don't know if it's gonna come back on or not.

    They have been very courteous but this would be the third time or so coming back. The young man has been doing refrigeration about five years and my system is older than five years. I need to know whether or not it's something he's missing with that particular system. I need to have somebody figure out what's going on as I can't imagine myself getting sick because it's cold in my house and I could have done something about it.

    I've been with American Home Shield for a long time. At one time, I had three accounts with them. What American Home Shield does that I don't like is they do me by email but they don't give me any hard copies. They'd say that the work was done successfully. I like hard copies but everybody has gone to the computer system and I'm not excited about the computer or emails. Also, a lot of companies that they use seem to be mom-and-pop businesses.

With this situation, we called on a Wednesday or Thursday and the person they found couldn't come until Monday.     Submitting a claim to American Home Shield is easy. I did my second claim and this time, I did it online. Unfortunately, I had to call the tech back because there was a leak afterwards. That didn't go as well as the first time. The first time, it seemed very well. The tech was a very professional looking kid, but the second time around didn't go really well because he wanted to try to blame the leak on me. I kind of shut him down pretty quick. But that really upset me. I said, “If it was already there, it would have been wet when you were working on it.” I would not use them again. I would not let Home Shield send them out again. It was not a very professional place.

    As far as the way Home Shield does things, they do it very well. In fact, the first time that I did call them, it was because the air conditioner went out and it was 113. They were very good about getting someone out here the very next day. It was late that day but they were out here first thing in the morning. I really appreciated that. I did have to do a little finagling because they told me, “Oh, it could be 24 hours,” and I said, “I can't do 24 hours in this weather. I'm alone and I’m elderly.” They were good about at least getting on that when I did explain my circumstances.

    I had another company before American Home Shield that I didn't care for so I switched. Filing a claim is normally pretty simple. But this house is a fairly older home and I've had a couple of claims that were more complicated to get taken care of, like a plumbing claim that's been going on for three weeks now and is still not taken care of. Also, they don't follow up very well when they haven't decided on the resolution of a problem. It seems like when there's something that requires much labor, the process is difficult.

    Other than that, we had a claim for the stove and they were awesome. Also, the oven door locked and we couldn't get it to unlock. Someone from Sears was sent out right away. The issue was the arm latch thing and he disconnected it so we could still use the oven during the holidays because they had to order a part. Then, they came out as soon as the parts came in and they did the installation. It works perfect now.

    We were not getting air to the back portion of our house. I had Comfort Heating and A/C come out and look at our ductwork to see if there was a way to get air to the back of the house. I filed service on American Home Shield’s website. Then they chose Comfort. They reached out to me to get the service scheduled. They gave me some options on when, and then they called me 15 minutes before. I met them here, and then they looked at it. They told me what was wrong. They didn't do anything to the ductwork. It was their opinion that due to the state of the actual ductwork, they couldn't do anything. It would need to be replaced.

    As of this point, that’s the solution but the problem has not been resolved. I've had some good luck with my issues. They fixed my AC issues every time. This last claim, I was a little bit unhappy about it since it wasn't covered for some reason, and I didn't know if there was a dispute process. The person on the phone said there was not. But overall, I've had pretty good experiences.

    I had some problems with heating and air as well as plumbing in the past. On the heating and air side, it took quite a while for service people to be available to come out. That was when it was an urgent issue. There was an instance where it was in the middle of winter and the heat had gone out. I went three or four days with no heat and was waiting for the first available appointment. It was the same on the air conditioning system when it went out. I went three or four days without air conditioning before the first available appointment was available. On the plumbing, I had a circumstance where service people came out and indicated that they repaired the issue but it was not repaired. I had to make a follow-up appointment to have them come out and fix it correctly.

    American Home Shield is very good for non-emergent types of issues. But for emergent issues, it needs work. For preventive maintenance, they sent someone out to make sure my system was working well. That visit went well.

    When I tried to run my dishwasher, the water wasn't going all the way out. It was just sitting there. I tried to submit a claim online but the next available appointment was the next day and I couldn't do that because my hours are crazy at work. I wanted a Saturday appointment so I called American Home Shield and scheduled it. The tech came and he was really nice. He provided really good customer service and H=he was very useful in telling me what to do and look at. While he was doing the repair, he was telling me so I could figure it out.

    There was nothing really wrong with my dishwasher. The hose that connects it to the sink was clogged and all I had to do was unscrew it and put a snake in it. I paid a $100 service fee for nothing because it was something I could do myself but I would rather know the problem than not know. The tech helped me see what the problem was and what I could do to make sure it doesn't happen. Using Home Shield has been a really great experience so far.

    I’m still having problems with my claim on my toilet because American Home Shield won’t pay for this to be fixed. They weren't able to cover saying it was something broken on the inside, and they're not going to cover it. So now, I'm having to pour water down my toilet. I'm very upset about that. I'll get me another warranty place that will cover stuff like that as soon as I find one. I can’t pay for something that’s not covered. Right now, I don't know how I'm gonna get my toilet fixed. I'm dissatisfied. I don't see why they couldn't put a whole new unit in it just like they did the other toilet. They put a whole new unit in one toilet. In the other toilet, they wouldn't do it because it was cracked on the inside. It was a different type of unit, but still, it was still broken inside. The tech broke two units to put one in the other bathroom, and they did not want to pay for it, which I think was very unfair.

    American Home Shield's reps were very polite. The one whom I spoke with said that the contractor should be reaching out to me very soon and that I should call her if they don't call me. Stellar Plumbing came the same day. They were very prompt. Usually, a lot of companies tell me 24 or 48 hours. It was during the holiday season and the tech said he wanted to come and make sure all of his clients were taken care of before the holidays. The techs came and stopped my main line between my kitchen and my bathroom. Everybody had masks on and they were very professional. They told me to call them if I had any more problems.

    We had a leaking water pump in our washer and the guy from Rogue Valley found it right away on Monday. He said he would get the part by Friday and he actually got it earlier. He had it Wednesday ‘cause he came and fixed it on Thursday in the morning. He was awesome, super on time, super professional, super clean and he wore a mask. It was a very nice experience. They're really old washers, so we just keep doing repairs to them. And they seem to be champions. So, everything's going well.

    American Home Shield has a good group of contractors that come out to us. We always recommend it to our friends, especially if they're buying a home for the first time. It has been very beneficial to us. But this summer was a little bit tougher. We had some other claims that we tried to file on another home we owned.     We had a plumbing repair for the kitchen sink, and that was good. But the prior one I have, I don't feel comfortable with it. We have an AC unit problem. American Home Shield sent out a technician and he provided the bill to fix the air conditioning unit. I requested for second opinion, but they did not pay for me. I paid the $100 deductible from my pocket. The bill he provided was $2,000 to fix the air conditioning unit. I was not comfortable with that, and I called my own technician. He fixed it for around the $300. It was $165 for the capacitor and $140 for Freon. So, there was a lot of difference. It is a $1,600 of difference. I was not comfortable with American Home Shield's response for that call. I thought of changing to something else other than American Home Shield.

    I put the claim through their website. The process was very easy and the response was very good. But the problem is the terms and conditions between American Home Shield and the contractors who are coming in. Some of the contractors that are coming in are not doing a good job. But with the sink leakage, they were good.

    When we moved in the house, all the drains were really slow on draining. So I cleaned them all out. I got a bunch of stuff out of the drains, and they started flowing better. But the next thing we know, our toilets were backing up, and then all of a sudden our bathtub was backing up too. So we called the septic company and they said the septic tank hasn't been emptied in years. So we had them and see and clean it out.

    Everything was going really good for about two weeks. Then our toilets were backing up again and they were not flushing. I had sewer water and food coming out of my bathtub. The whole house is smelling right before Christmas. We called the plumber because the septic was looking fine. He cleared the clogged line. When he unclogged it, my husband was standing in front of the septic and it made this big whooshing noise. Then all of a sudden he said a whole bunch of crap started coming out and then everything unclogged. It was a mess. The entrance where the plumber goes in and snakes it is not on the outside of the house. It's in the garage so I had ** water all over there. But they cleaned it out. The plumber said, “Ma'am, I'm sorry, but it's gonna be a mess. I don't know why this outlet is out here. It should be outside.” It was three days before Christmas and I did several days bleaching a garage concrete floor.

    When I did the claim to American Home Shield, I had a little bit of difficulty because it kept saying my account wasn't active. So I had to wait and get somebody on the phone. Then they told me it was active. I got an email confirming it's active, but when I put my account number, it says, "This account is not active." So the automated system is having some issues. Other than that, once I get a person on the phone, I have no issue. Everything was good.

    The power keeps on going off in certain rooms. When I requested for service to American Home Shield, there was a description that said, “What was going on?” I said that the power, when we first moved in here, went off about two weeks after that. Then after that, it happened maybe once every two weeks. Now, it started to happen pretty much every day. That was what I put. First City Electric came out and they explained everything to us, and they were very good.

    American Home Shield is the one that sometimes I have an issue with. With my air conditioning, I put a claim in that it wasn't cooling. It just was running and was not cooling. I put a claim in and then every time you go into American Home Shield, you have to pay $75. I did that and then they came out and then they told me that I needed to pay $384 because it needed Freon and something else. I tried to call American Home Shield and they were saying that everything needs to get authorized. The tech tried to call American Home Shield. It was a hold for 20 minutes to get authorization. I was really kind of bothered because he said that they never have had to do that.

    I do my claim to AHS online. It's easy. I had a claim on the refrigerator, and the technician who came was fantastic. The only thing is there seems to be a bit of a disconnect in-between what I'm being told as the customer and what is being conveyed to the service provider. Whenever I enter a claim, I'm told that, “Hey, this service provider will get in touch with you. If you don't hear from them, please call them at this number to schedule an appointment.” What happened in the two times that we've used the service is I got a call and they said, “Hey, this is so-and-so from HBC. We're going to be on our way to take care..” That was great. It's an immediate response, but it's different than scheduling an appointment.

    If I get into a situation where I'm like, “Well, I'm not at home, I can't do it,” I don't want to have the service people feel put out. It's not a complaint because it's worked out really to our favor. It's just an observation that in the future, it might be a problem for them if they're kind of anticipating that they're just going to be able to respond right away. Overall, AHS has been fantastic. We were very satisfied.

    American Home Shield has always responded quickly to every request I've made and everything has always been covered as promised. It's also very easy and user-friendly if you use the web to submit a claim. I had one very recently about the washing machine. It was a waste of $125 co-pay but if it had something wrong with it, it would have been fixed in the end. Then the other one was the dishwasher.     Having a warranty through AHS has its ups and downs. When I had my water heater fixed, I went somewhere else because it was way too expensive. But I had a good experience with my air conditioner, my dishwasher, and my washing machine. They fixed the air conditioner and dishwasher and replaced the washing machine with no problem.

    My main gripe is that it's hard to get ahold of somebody sometimes. Also, it wasn't clear to me which number I should call to submit claims. I was dialing the wrong number and I had trouble getting through. And they kept telling me that they couldn't take my call. Then, I called another number and I got right through. It was not a real person but I found that the number worked and I got an appointment quickly. The claim was for my dryer and the service guy showed up on time and was really nice. He wore his mask and he got the job done.

    We had a big ice storm so a lot of people lost power here. When the power came back on, the heating unit wasn't right. It was like a bunch of condensation had built up in it and it needed to be drained. The tech was great. He fixed it which is a big relief. When you initiate a claim with AHS, there's a dropdown menu and you have all of these different things that could not be working. However, they let you select just one. It would be good if there's a way to indicate that it’s more than one of those things in the dropdown menu. Usually, I select Other but there's nothing where you can explain what Other means.

    Everything is going very well with American Home Shield. I contact them and they send somebody to take care of the problem. That's what I have the policy for and they do what they say they're going to do. Recently, I had a loose pipe connection underneath my house in the crawlspace. The company they called said they weren't going to be out there for 10 days. I told them that was not going to be a good idea since I had no water. They moved it around and that company sent someone in two days instead of 10 days. I still had to wrestle with the water problem but it was better than wrestling with it for a week. The guy did a good job. He told us exactly what was wrong, took pictures and showed us the before and after pictures. He tightened up some other pipes and made sure that they were okay. That was the second time I've had them out. I had an issue last year and they came out and took care of that. I've had good response from them and the guys seem to know what they're doing.     The problem was the shower faucet. When you turned it all the way to the left to get hot water, it quit. The plumber said something about it being heavily calcified so he had to replace a part. My husband's faucet was basically the same thing and he was able to fix that. We're happy. He's new though. We never had them do plumbing for us.     I had people over for dinner and the oven didn't seem it was cooking correctly. Things weren't getting done like they normally would. I put my oven thermometer in there, and it measured 50 degrees under where it should have been. I have the double oven. The top one registered fine. The bottom one registered 50 degrees under. That's why I called to find out if that could be corrected.

    The initial call from the renter was that the AC unit was triggering the breaker box to turn off and it would happen throughout the day. It was the heat or air condition. We opened up a service ticket. American Home Shield immediately opened up the claim and routed us to the correct vendor. An electrical repairman came out, looked at the breaker box and looked at the AC unit and determined that something was malfunctioning with the fuses. He replaced two 50-amp fuses and said he thought the issues might be solved but he needed an AC repairman to come out.

    The AC repairman came and looked at it. He said that the fuses needed to be larger, meaning, it had to be 60-amp versus the 50-amp that was there. My construction manager on site asked if he would switch them out and he said that it had to be an electrician to do that. Then that was where I dropped the ball. I didn't follow back up and I thought someone was gonna do that like they did the first time. So, it still remains open to where I need to get those from the 50 amp fuse to a 60 amp fuse. The technician was professional. Just a confusion on which one would actually pop the fuse out and pop another fuse in. Overall, American Home Shield is definitely a beneficial service and everyone should have it.

    I like American Home Shield. Recently, Magic Appliance came out for my refrigerator. They were unable to do anything for me because the door was under recall. The technician was very personable and apologetic that he couldn't do anything for me. I had to go through Viking and I still don't have a refrigerator to date which has been an issue with Viking.

    Magic Appliance also came out for the stove. They were personable and were able to fix it. What I had an issue with was when I used the automated service initially to set it up for billing. I had it attached to my checking account then I got a notice after I thought that I paid it that it was delinquent. I called and asked how could it be delinquent. It said it was taking out of my checking, and it didn't, evidently. Unless you talk to a person live, you can't take care of the issue then. It’s like double work so I don't like that aspect. I would like to talk to a person but when things occur, you sometimes can’t and that becomes an issue. I don’t know if it’s resourced out of the US because that becomes an issue sometimes too.

    The washing machine wasn't spinning. It filled up with water then it wouldn't do anything after that. I went online and submitted a claim with AHS. I've used their website before and I didn't have a problem. Then, I got a email that said who the contractor was and that they would be notifying me to set up an appointment. Then, the tech called me and said he would be there. He was great and he was there when he said he was going to be there. It took him 10 minutes to fix the washing machine and it has been working perfectly since the repair. It helped me immensely as I had a lot of laundry to do.     I'm not very happy with my experience with American Home Shield. This is the second person who came. The first guy came in and he said that it was not working. They had to send somebody else to look at it. They sent Sears because the refrigerator that I have is a Kenmore. Mostly, Sears deals with these situations. The guy came in, he looked at it and diagnosed it. He said it was not repairable. He said he sent in a report for American Home Shield to replace it.

    I was waiting for somebody to call me, email me and say something. Nobody ever called and said anything until I called in this morning. I spoke to a lady. It took me an hour until I got an answer. I was on the phone for 45 minutes to an hour to get an answer from her. She said that Home shield doesn't have any report that says what the guy said. She told me, "Let them send us a report." I tried to get in touch with Sears and Sears called. I talked to them for maybe half an hour until I got something out of them. But they said, "We don't have any reports." I tried to get the name of the person. They don't have the name of the person, but he works for them. I said, "Don't you guys ever get reports from them?" They said, "We have a work order. That's about it. But we didn't have any reports it was completed, not completed or anything that goes through the Home Shield."

    I didn't get anything out of it. I wasn't happy. I was really frustrated. I was really upset and angry about it. The guy told me he sent in a report for Home Shield. She said, "I'm gonna send you another guy to diagnose." I said, "No, don't send me anybody." Because of the Coronavirus out there, I don't want to get too many people in my house. It's not very safe. I don't want to get the third person just trying to figure out what's wrong with the refrigerator. And the refrigerator is not working. I lost a lot of food.

    I will talk with Sears. I'm supposed to get back to them, but I never did. I'm really pissed off about it. I've been paying money to AHS left and right. They took the $125. They've taken $50 from me every month. It is just a waste of money and time dealing with this company. I'm dissatisfied. I don't recommend anybody for this company. I have a few people of my family I'm gonna call up and make them cancel. I had them once here for my heat and air conditioner. My heat was down also. They said there was nothing wrong with it. It was working fine, they said, but it was not. It cost me $10,000. I had to change the whole unit.

    AHS had two different companies assess the washer. The first company said it couldn't be repaired, but the second company said it could be. It took over a month for me to get a working washing machine, which was unacceptable. I wound up going to the laundromat three different occasions. But the contractor was fine. I've had problems with other appliances over the years, and AHS took care of them. So I stayed with them. But there used to be an easier way to get somebody on the phone and to hear what you had to say. If you were not happy, somebody would at least call you back. But that was not what was happening this time.

    Lake Anna Doors did the garage door. It's okay but there's a little squeaky noise. I asked the guy to try to fix it but he said no, they could not do much more about it. But they are excellent and I did provide a present for them. American Home Shield is good. The only thing is they do not respond to the call and sometimes they are asking me to have my payment twice. There were also some issues with my credit card and they are not functioning very well in terms of communicating with the customer. They need to communicate with the customer properly and to make sure that communication is not by so many people. That is confusing.

    The tech fixed the immediate problem. He glued the joint back together. He said, "It's just a temporary fix. I have to get back with American Home Shield and tell them what I'm going to need to do." I said, "Okay, that's fine." Four weeks have gone by but I haven't heard anything since. After I have called them three times and emailed them, I never heard anything back. I called AHS last week and the rep said she would give me a call since it was a day before Christmas Eve. She said it would take a day or two. We gave the contractor that came out here 24 hours to respond. I said, "He won't respond to me. So I don't know what's going on." And she shows that it was still open. On the other hand, I did an online for TNT Appliance. They were wonderful. The tech came out here, was very thorough and nice, and it took about an hour.     I'm getting so sick and tired of calling American Home Shield and getting somebody halfway around the world that doesn't know a thing about what I'm talking about. You call them and schedule something and then you try to call back and say the plumber has told me that I've got to have somebody go up on the roof and check out the vent. But these people might be able to speak English, but they sure couldn't understand a word that I was saying. I pay too much money a month for this.     We were having a problem in the shower. The one shower only got cold water and the other shower only got hot water. My claim to American Home Shield for it went very well. We're not done yet because when they fixed the one shower, they had a faulty part. So, they've had to order a new part. The poor guy has been here three times already.     In the four years that I've been with American Home Shield, they fixed some things. I'm satisfied with everything except for the AC repair. They want to put in replacements that are not of the same quality. If I’ve got a Trane, they want to put some aftermarket stuff in there. That needs to be improved. That was even from a technician. AHS does good work. But on stuff that is expensive, they don't want to replace it with the same type of equipment. If I'm paying my bill, they should replace it with the same thing.

    Sometime in the past, they say AHS did excellent stuff on everything except for the AC. I had trouble with it and techs had to come over here and look at the AC and decide what was wrong. It would take them two or three days to get the part. One time, they brought over the part but it was broken. It took two more days without an AC in Florida and it was 80 something degrees in the house. I had a little bunny and had three fans on him but he could not still survive. I won’t forget that. That aside, everything else is fantastic. For my plumbing claim, that went great. T5he tech got it all fixed and he even fixed a little extra problem. He just needed to tighten another one of my faucets. He was very kind.

    The guy who was sent out by American Home Shield for the locks was very nice. He showed up right on time. I showed him the house and where the trouble areas were, and also the different locks that needed to be replaced. It turned out I needed an extra lock. He even said, “That's not a problem. I'll try to take care of it for you.” He showed me that there were some serious issues with the locks. There were two different keys that could be used to open the same lock, and the front door was not secure. He showed me how he was able to just kind of pop it with this little thing he had, and I almost fainted. I was floored. I almost died. He said, “No, no. I'm gonna replace it.” He thoroughly went through every single lock. I even showed him one that was particularly scary, which is in the back part of the house. He was like, “Oh, I can see why you're concerned about this.” He showed me really quick how it could be popped.

    He went ahead and replaced each and every one. We had a whole bag full of keys for the whole house. Also, the master bedroom had a lock that closed from the outside. It was really weird. It scared the heck out of me. I asked him, “Have you ever seen this before?” He says it could be that they had this rented out, which was not disclosed when we bought the house.

    He had to replace a total of seven. I ended up paying for a couple of them because it exceeded the total that were covered. But I told them I'm gonna have to do it because I can't leave this like this. He was showing me some other stuff too, like on the sliding doors and, “You need to replace this. And this is how you anchor that.” He went around and showed me a general guide.

    When he was done, he gave us the keys. He was there for a good while. It was kind of cool that he gave me these keys that are like vintage keys. I guess they were used in hotels back in the day or in the 60s. It's pretty cool because it goes with the house. It totally goes with the style. It's Hollywood regency style house. I asked him, “Did you do that on purpose?” He said, “No, these are just really sturdy keys. They’ll last forever, and hard to lose because they have a rectangular top part area that you can actually put the address on there." I was very appreciative for the thoroughness and the thoughtfulness shown by the service agent who came out.

    The appliance guys were called in on the 5th but they didn't come out till the 10th. I called them three times since and they still haven’t been back out, and they haven’t returned my calls. My appliance is still haven’t been done. We live in a smaller town and AHS has limited resources for people here, so it's always a problem. They should get more than one contractor, and get more than one plumber especially. It's been frustrating dealing with AHS. Too many phone calls and too many people who don't speak English. It's hard to understand them. They're trying to read scripts, which I can tell. When you say that you want a supervisor, you wait for 30 more minutes but I can tell it's not a supervisor.

    My heater would just hum and it wouldn't turn on. In the past, I've had a lot of trouble with American Home Shield. But this particular time, I was able to get through in about five minutes, which made me happy. I had a credit with them for my service fee because I was going to cancel last year, and the retention department gave me $150 credit toward future expenses that I might have with them for the service fee that I have to pay each time. When they wanted to collect the money, I said I've got a credit. After about a five-minute wait, the person I was talking to found the credit and gave that to me. So that was good. Then Generations Heating and Air did a wonderful job.

    In the past, I've waited up to an hour on hold with American Home Shield. When I had a claim for my water heater, it took almost a month before I was able to get it working. They had to go through some kind of a review process to make sure they were going to repair the water heater. That was a real hassle. I was ready to cancel American Home Shield. But the last time was a very good one.

    There was a broken pipe in our bathtub, so there was a leak. We submitted a claim with AHS and they attended to us really quickly. They called us but unfortunately, I was at work.     When AT Appliance came to look at the stove, it was just one man. But he did a great job. He did everything exactly and he was very professional. He checked it out. He found out the part that was broken. He put in an order and apparently, it's too old and they don't make that part anymore. So I got the call that I was getting a new stove. But I don't know what kind or color I'm getting. I don't even know if I'm really getting it because I didn't have any confirmation when I spent hours on the phone yesterday.

    My stove has not been repaired as of yet and it's delayed. I haven't been able to contact anyone. I called the appliance place, and they led me back to American Home Shield. But American Home Shield said that I have to talk to the appliance place. They've been bouncing me back and forth, and back and forth. Hanging on the phone for several hours and then it hangs up. I was crying because I was so frustrated bouncing back and forth, and nobody giving me any answers and any responsibility for why my stove isn't here or am I really going to get one. The one lady told me my contract wasn't even started yet. I was getting pretty frustrated because when my stove broke, my son said he would give me a stove for Christmas. So I called and I was going to cancel the order, but then the person said that they got an email that morning telling them that they were approving a new stove for me. But after that, I never heard from them.

    I'm in a condo community and my heating unit’s outside. It was freezing and I could see ice on the inside and the outside of it. So, I called American Home Shield and they sent a tech out. He said that there was something going on with the defrosting part of it and he would have to order that part. Then, he came back in a timely manner. I was very satisfied with the amount of time that it took from the delivery of the part to the time it was placed and I had a very good experience with United Air Temp on that repair. Since then, everything has worked perfectly.

    With American Home Shield, I’ve had good and bad experiences, but the good outweigh the bad. They sent a tech out last summer for my AC and he was from Chesapeake. He said he checked it but I didn't go outside to follow him up. He said he was going to have to refill it with Freon, but it costs $400 something and AHS pays back $10 only per pound. And the rest of it was charged to the owner. So long story short, the unit worked for about two weeks or so, then I was having the same problem. It was freezing up behind the filter inside and I knew that if that happened, that meant that the Freon was completely out. So, I called them back and I told them that the guy said that he checked whatever it was and that he filled it with Freon. But I told them I was having the same problem now that I was having before.

    This was in the middle of the summer and I had to write a letter to Chesapeake with a copy to American Home Shield stating my problem. I told them that if they did not come back and repair it without a cause, I was going to contact my lawyer. I sent a copy to my lawyer as well. A couple of days later, the lady from Chesapeake called and told me they were sending someone out to fix the unit. When they did, there were three things that it needed and I asked why they didn't check those before they filled it with Freon. They should have known I was going to have the same problem if these were the reasons that I was having the problem in the beginning. So, they repaired it and the unit did well for the rest of the summer. But I don't know what's going to happen next summer and I was very unhappy about Chesapeake as well as with the person they sent out.

    I pay American Home Shield $63 a month and they take it directly from my checking account. So, I shouldn't have to go through all of that to get what I was paying for. Also, when I called American Home Shield and told them what had happened, they told me that was between me and the company that did the work. They're out of it once they assign you to somebody but they need to stand behind it until the work is completely finished and the customer is completely satisfied.

    The ice machine was not working consistently and I had a big leak underneath. The repair company first had a call via a cell phone and a video call, so that was fantastic. No one had to come out here to my house and they got it done quickly. So I'm in love with the whole video call. After that, they took care of my problem. The techs were clean, courteous, and sterile. I cannot be happier with both American Home Shield and the company that fixed my problems.

    American Home Shield makes the claims process really easy. I just have my credit card setup and then they bill me 75 bucks for the call. Then, in the call, they alert me when I have an upcoming payment coming. I could do it monthly or for the entire year. So everything is online. They're very fast and good. But some things are out of their control. I had one guy come here and collect his 75 bucks, but he didn't do anything and then shoved the claim back to American Home Shield. So they had to find someone else to do it, but without that initial $75 fee. So American Home Shield needs to kind of go through and assess their people and get rid of the chumps. During the first year that we had American Home Shield, our air conditioning went out. It would have been $1300 just for the parts. So for me, I have peace of mind knowing I have someone come up for 75 bucks and have problems taken care of.

    Submitting claims to Home Shield has been really easy. The only thing we've been concerned about is that we would like service the next day and sometimes, it takes two days. The techs that come have been really professional. We're senior citizens and we wanna talk to anybody that comes in. They aren't really chatty but that's okay since they're here to do a job. They are very knowledgeable and reliable. If I was here by myself, I would have felt very safe. We had dealt with COVID and so everyone was very protected.

    I loved the communication. Affordable Heat and Air texted us to say they're on the way. AHS's contractors have been really prompt with the timing. Sometimes the window they give is a little bit wide, like sometimes they say they'll be here between 10:00 and 3:00. If I'm gonna be home anyway, that's not a big deal. But, if I was trying to meet them that instant that's a wide window and I would like for it to be a little smaller.

    I emailed Affordable that we thought our issue might be the thermostat. So, the tech had one in his truck which was great. He was in and out in 35 minutes and our problem was resolved. It was like "Yay we have heat.". We're getting ready to call AHS again because our garage door stopped working and our hot water heater is not heating. It would be nice if I could turn in the requests for these things at the same time but I understand there is a different technician for everything. If there was someone who could do both jobs, that would be awesome.

But when the K & S Plumbing came, it was actually outside the house, so that wasn't covered under the warranty, so they just left. But, I had a claim last year and it was fine. AHS is a good company.     It was easy to submit the claim for electrical and everybody did a good job. The techs came out and had it fixed in a couple of days. I also tried to do another claim for plumbing a little bit later. I wasn’t too happy about that because American Home Shield charged me the copay before they even sent anybody out. It was gonna be five days for them to send somebody out for a leaky kitchen sink but we got to wash our dishes. So I ended up canceling and just having a friend come over to help me fix it. I'm gonna have to call them back because I don't remember if they've given me my refund for my copay. Other than that, they seemed to be helpful.

    Murphy's Home Services came, got everything fixed and they did a good job. They came out for a leak on the dishwasher, and the maintenance guys troubleshot it and found out it was the seal. They ordered the seal in and replaced it, tested it, and then reassembled all the bottom kickplate and made sure everything works fine with no leaks. The tech was friendly and professional. He did not wear a mask, but he kept distance from everything. He didn't require me to be in the room with him. Once it was done, we cleaned everything up. As far as him not wearing a mask, that was our choice. He did ask if he wanted us to. They gave us the option. Everything was very smooth and seamless as far as it seemed. It was pretty straightforward. This was a really good experience.

    This is Christmas morning 2020 and we are darn near frozen. We have been without a upstairs working furnace since 12/07/2020 and today is 12/25/2020. This morning in Memphis the temperature is 24 degrees. Needless to say our bedrooms are upstairs. Customer service is a joke. Doing this whole process I’ve repeatedly asked for a Supervisor without success. The first company dispatched was in and out in seconds Telling us the problem could cause us to die in the night! Next question, “Do you need our salesman to call?”

    I immediately called AHS and was told I could have a second opinion. I agreed. The next company's Tech was thorough enough to explain the problem. When leaving our home the tech told us he would submit his report which would then be sent to AHS. It was downhill from there. I waited a couple of days (having not heard anything) I called AHS. The first Customer Service said, "We haven’t received report from second opinion company." Well that could be true! So I gave it a few more days and was told the same exact thing! Okkkk (On a side note I reported each time, I was working from home and my office was upstairs and I was cold)!

    Around the fourth call after being told the same lie about the other company, I asked for a Supervisor. The CS person continued to talk as if not hearing me. I again asked for a Supervisor I was told that he(CS) would have to contact his Field Manager to report trying to call company to find out why they’re not responding to their repeated attempts to get a diagnosis on our furnace. All of this before I could speak to a Supervisor.

    In a final attempt to speak to anyone I called this second opinion company myself. Surprise surprise I was told they submitted their report the following day 12/8. Armed with this information I called AHS again. This time after reporting what I was told from second opinion company miraculously a report with our diagnosis was found. We were then told that all repairs and furnace was covered to be replaced but that we had $1,300.00 worth of code violations that we would have to pay before furnace replacement could began. This last bit of information floored me. When did a inspector come to our home to find these violations and who were we paying the money to. CS said to AHS. Again I called the second opinion company inquiring about the code violations. I was told there were no code violations but there were modifications that would have to be made to install new furnace.

    Maybe AHS should hire this person in a couple of calls I knew more than I found out in about 6 calls in all to AHS. Well called AHS again and was told our case read that the first company that came to our home was being dispatched this past Friday to our home if we agreed to the 1,300.00 but you already have them dispatched I asked. Besides I would rather have the second company to perform the work. I have not heard another word from AHS.

    At this point I am still freezing, have not heard from AHS. After the holidays I do plan to cancel this contract which by the way I’ve had since 1998. Service in those days was ok which went to mediocre and now is downright awful. I also intend to write a strongly worded review to the BBB but from what I see it would be one of many. At least have CS techs read your file and give the same information. Each one I spoke with had a different story or should I say lie. I reached out to other companies after repeating the diagnosis I was given. Was told all work could be completed for less than 1,300.00. Completely frustrated and cold.

    I called the one number when I filed the claim. First, American Home Shield had trouble finding somebody that would come to Winfield. Finally, they turned it over to somebody. They contacted me, and then they contacted Everyday Heating and Cooling. The guy that came out was so nice, patient, and explained everything that he did. He had to come back because the heat worked fine, and then it quit working. When he took the board off, he had to order a new circuit board. The first one came in and the manufacturer hadn't soldered all the pieces on it, so they were loose. He had to order another one when he took the old one off. He showed me on the board what he thought was the problem. Now, I have heat.

    The tech from Beyer Appliance came out and took care of the dryer. It was just a control thing that was locked. I never locked it. It got child lock. He showed me how to unlock it if it ever got back to that functions. Then he fixed my refrigerator out in the garage. It was a switch. I was very pleased with the service. I'm also pleased thus far with American Home Shield. I just bought this house last summer and it had a warranty through Fidelity. I had to use them on a couple items. They were pretty prompt, and as far as their method of the payments, they didn't charge my account the service call until that service was done. Whereas American Home Shield bills within 48 hours, and I get it's because of COVID, but it just seems scheduling is now blamed on COVID. That's a little irritating knowing that you're paying out and you haven't got it done yet.

    I had a problem with the garbage disposal and there was a leak. So, I talked to the American Home Shield rep and Gaithersburg Plumbing was assigned. Once AHS gave them the contract, they called me in less than 24 hours and then scheduled an appointment based on my availability and the tech’s availability. The tech came and got the garbage disposal fixed. It's running well so, I don't have any complaint with respect to their work activity for the timeline or the professionalism.

    Some of the contractors on different other assignments were not as effective as Gaithersburg Plumbing though. I had a service request on an appliance. It was almost two months back when I had that request and it has not been fixed yet. The repair guys ordered the parts and the parts arrived a week back and I haven't gotten a response from them yet. I was waiting and maybe it’s the holiday season why they have not responded yet. AHS could follow up directly with the contractor and then try to see how they're following with the customer. I'm talking about in general and not this particular case. The overall experience does not fall on American Home Shield and their capabilities. It also trickles down to the contractors they have and their manpower.

Sometimes the contractors that they send out don't call and they don't do the work and I'd like to see them have more reliable contractors.     We've had a number of issues with this particular heat pump. It was frosting up, not defrosting and then we had low coolant one time. But about two weeks ago, the unit would frost up completely. I would do the recommended defrosting manually by pouring cold water on it. The techs came out and checked it. It was going through the defrost cycles but it was not doing anything. So they found that there was a bad control board on the unit and they ordered a part. A week later, they came out and fixed it. So everything seems to be well now.

    The claims process seems to be very easy but you don't really have the opportunity to explain to a technician what your issues are. That can avoid a service call if it is something that can be verbally taken care of. But still, coming out and checking the unit out and seeing if it's okay or not is probably the best thing to do instead of trying to talk a band-aid on an issue. So what they have now is pretty streamlined and efficient.

    I live with my boyfriend and he built this house, and everything in it is 20 years old. We could come up with a $100 copay, which was a lot easier than coming up with a new appliance if it could be fixed. I read the reviews, which made me decide on AHS and the person I spoke with helped me through it. She was awesome to do that with. It was a very easy experience and she was very forthcoming with information that I had questions about. My boyfriend was not on board for the warranty at all. But I've had to use American Home Shield when the heat pump wouldn’t come on and the service tech was awesome. He explained what was going on and since the repair, everything has been great.     I had a preliminary conversation in order to understand how the company is working. They said that I cannot open a request for specific services. When I did a claim the first time, I preferred to call in order to learn more and the lady said that I could open a request in order to get the electrical outlet and the garage door fixed. She said, “It’s the same service, it’s the same provider. So no problem. We can open one request, and they will go there and then fixed them all.” But then nothing happened. I didn't get any reply. They said that in 24 hours to 48 I would get someone call me back. But no one contacted me.

    After five days, I contacted American Home Shield and they said, “It’s because the two services are not going for one provider. Each provider is gonna charge you the $75. And there's two providers instead of one. And this time they’ll go only for one supplier.” I told to stay with one provider and fix the garage. So they opened that one and I finally got a response and the confirmation for the garage door repair. But it was confusing for me as a first time customer. It is difficult to understand something that was not explained. But the provider at the end did a good job. American Home Shield should at least have an introduction called how the warranty works. They should state that for every category service, it will require a specific supplier. They should also state what the customer can expect from that 24 hour to 48 hours and how they are gonna be contacted by the supplier.

    A guy came out on the 14th. He was supposed to get back with me within 24 to 48 hours, but he didn't. So, I tried to call Home Shield and they said that they don't know anything. And they can't transfer me to a supervisor to find anything out because of the way they're working. So, another guy came out, because the guy that came out originally is moving, and he found out that the wires are burned up. There was some kind of power surge that burned up the wires. He came out Saturday at 8:30 in the morning, and he would get back to me on Monday.

    I've been calling American Home Shield every day since. Nobody knows anything. Nobody could tell me anything. I've already paid. It's not that difficult. Nobody would give me any answers, and it's so frustrating. Nobody would call me back either, and that is what gets to me. Why does it take 14 days for an approval? That's why I have the warranty. They know what is wrong, approve it, and let's get the wires replaced. It is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. This is the biggest waste of money of anything I have ever done.

    The people that I have spoken to are very kind. The first guy was rude from the first minute we got on the phone. But they are only doing their job. I know they can't transfer me if they were told they couldn't. I understand that's their job. But it has been the worst experience ever. I'm so beyond blown away by the process that nobody would give me a process.

    The repair guy did a great job. It took a week for J&A to get the part and then they were out here. The repair guy's professionalism was fantastic. I don't think he knew the condensation pipe that comes out of the furnace was knocked loose though. The pipe seems to be in the way and I'm sure he had disconnected that by accident. J&A took care of it and sent the cleaning crew out. They handled it very well. I highly recommend them.

    On a different note, getting someone here that's in close proximity at times is hard to do. American Home Shield's list of contractors that they work with may be in Indiana, PA, and I live 75 miles away. That's an issue with me. Other than that, this last situation with the furnace, they were in South Park. That's very close, and that was fine, but I had to wait on the part when I could've had it the next day from another contractor.

    I can't choose the people that are sent out. Also, if someone that has the part that can be here sooner for the furnace doesn't work with American Home Shield, I can't use them. I have to wait until someone that works with them gets the part. It's through no fault of anyone except the way American Home Shield operates. I would love to be able to say, "Look, there's a guy that I know that can do this. Why can't he do it?" Some of these home warranties cover whoever you choose, and I don't understand why American Home Shield doesn't.

    We just had our HVAC serviced for the year. We had two HVACs that were done, the preseason servicing, and it went good. The guy came. He had is PPE equipment on and he did what he said he was going to do. He looked. He went upstairs. He did everything. It made me comfortable with what he was doing, that he knew what he was doing, and he did the services. I went to American Home Shield's website to do the claim. I have done other services through there and sometimes, you can't get what you want. Right now, I need to do a service for my plumbing and it's difficult to find out what is actually being covered.

    The Island Breeze company came in and they did a great job. The previous company that I had come in to do my garage door did not call, and the guy came in, no PPE on, and the services, I found out it wasn't covered. So I ended up paying the money upfront to American Home Shield and kinda had to pay for the services to repair my garage door opener. I wouldn't have done that if they had called me and told me that it wasn't covered. American Home Shield is overrated.

One contractor was for the dryer in one property and they tore it apart, came back the same day, and put a part in.     I have something wrong with the washer. The tech came and changed something, and then, it's still not working. So, he had to order a part and I'm waiting for it to come in. I guess it's because of the holidays that it's taking time to get the part. Also, I had a plumbing issue back in March. American Home Shield fixed it, but then my insurance had to get involved. There was $20,000 worth of damage, but they fixed the plumbing right then. However, I'd like them to answer phone calls a bit more because what happened to me recently which upset me was I made an appointment for the exhaust on my microwave. And when they sent somebody out, they sent somebody out for the exhaust part and not the microwave part. Then, I called and one of the ladies there hired another company to come out because I had that $100 deposit.

    And then, the other company texted me and said they don't work in our area. So, I had to call again. The next rep that answered said they couldn't do that. They would have to wait to refund me my 100, which they would but it took a lot of time. And then, they asked me to put another 100 to hire somebody else, and I said I couldn't until I got my 100 back. That took a good three weeks. And then, when I got my 100 back, I had a different issue. So, I never even got my microwave fixed. It's all the back and forth.

    I was very pleased with my recent claim. The tech from Hopwood Electric was really professional and courteous. I really wasn't that close to him because I couldn't be around electricity, but it wasn't a problem for him to solve the situation. Everything is working the way it was prior to it messing up.     I have a faucet in the kitchen and it pulls out and sprays. The hose got a leak in it and the tech came but the hose they brought didn't fit. It wouldn't allow the faucet part to go back into the cradle. So, they had to go back and reorder another hose. The repair guys explained what happened, showed me what the problem was and explained for fixes. Submitting the first claim to American Home Shield was okay but the second claim got a little dicey. They said they sent an email that we never got. But that day, they sent emails and we got them right away. So, we're not sure what happened to that first email. But overall, the experience has been great. The contractors I've come across with have been friendly and professional so the claim with the faucet was just a little hinky thing.

There was a part that needed to be ordered and it took a while to get in. That was kind of troublesome. But as far as the tech's work, the refrigerator is working better than it did when we moved in.     We had a faucet that was leaking in the shower. It's an old faucet and the guy couldn't find a replacement part for it and then I left town for six weeks. When I came back, I called the repair company to have that taken care of and they said I had to go through American Home Shield. The first three calls I made to American Home Shield, I got the exact same answer. “Someone will call you tomorrow. We're looking into it and we will call you tomorrow.” Then I found out that the plumber did not file the report he needed to file. I had to go to the sales associate for Coldwell Banker in Jupiter, Florida, and then he hooked me up with Michelle. She facilitated getting the report and getting the repair company to come out and do the work, but it took a long time.

    In other situations, American Home Shield got the job done without a hitch. I've had claims have been before and when it works, it works fine. When there are problems though, it doesn't seem like they have somebody who can make a decision. Whoever answers the phone reads the script, gets you off the phone, and then nothing happens. From that point of view, when I called and got ahold of somebody, every person who said they would call back did not. I work for Coldwell Banker. It's really frustrating when I'm out there as a real estate broker having people buy this, but for myself, I have this frustration.

    We had an electric issue and Dahan Electric came in. American Home Shield seems to like to deal with two electric companies here and Dahan is not one of them, but they were the ones who came. It was an emergency and they came right out and took care of everything. It was phenomenal and they gave great service. They also get good reviews, so I'm not sure why American Home Shield goes to two of the ones that seem to not be that great. Other than that, the couple of times that I've used American Home Shield have not been the easiest scenarios. I'd call and make the claim, and the two times I've used them, there have been electrical emergencies. I had to call back and I had to call the vendor then we tried to work something out, but the service didn't happen right away. It'd would be about the same problem and that would take up to three calls before things were clear and they got done.

    American Home Shield worked through a property manager of ours. So it would be nice if they had an option to indicate if you were the occupant or if you were the owner-landlord of the property to help facilitate when things do go wrong. The contract is always confusing. The contract is in my name and I put down the property manager as the contact so they’ll contact her. But often, the communications go both ways or I don't find something out or the property manager doesn't find something out. It makes coordinating an appointment tough.

    We've had a few claims over the years. We had other issues when we were out of the country for a couple of years where it didn't work so well with the communications because of that. But this recent one for one of our rental properties is probably the smoothest and best of them. The disposal was leaking and the tenant put a bucket underneath. The tenant contacted the property manager. I was also contacted that an appointment was going to be set. I forwarded that to the property manager. But then I got contacted by the Prestige and asked them to contact the property manager, which they did, and everything ended up working great.

    An appointment was set and Prestige came out. I was in town and only about two miles from the property so I went and met Prestige. The plumber came in, determined the disposal needed to be replaced, contacted American Home Shield right then who agreed to replace it. So within 30 minutes of the plumber showing up, he was able to put in a new unit and was gone. So it was flawless. But that generally has not been the case.

    Right before that garbage disposal claim, a refrigerator in another property went up. The tenant said they weren't going to be home so the property manager was going to be going over when they got the 30-minute alert. But the company was about four hours late to the site. So I had to be calling American Home Shield to figure out if they were coming that day and then I found out that they just left. I was in communication with the property manager who had not heard anything.

    The repair person had told the tenant that it was not covered and it was about a $600 repair. The property manager told them not to fix it and that was how the case was closed. So of course, I contacted American Home Shield told them that they were supposed to repair or replace it. So they sent another technician out and ended up giving me a large credit to Home Depot to buy a new refrigerator because it couldn't be repaired. So it worked out but we had to intercede and do some work on that one. Other than that, American Home Shield has improved greatly over the few years that we've had them with this communication issue.

    Top Notch Plumbing came out for the faucet on the sink and I’ve had to order some parts for it. That has been almost a week ago so I'm waiting to hear from them to see if the parts are in and when they are going to come out and complete the job. Also, I've had Joy Plumbing twice, and the service guys don't have a bedside manner. The guy that was here knew what he was doing, but then the bedside manner was not as good. But I would like to hear from them because this sink is in my main master bathroom, and I have not been able to use it. The guy said it would take about five days for the part to come in, so five days are up. Also, my furnace is a zoned furnace. And everybody can't work on the zoned furnace. Some of the service people that came out don't know how to work on the zoned furnaces, so I have to get somebody else. But the last group that came, Bennett Air, was good. They know exactly what they're doing.

    I pay the premium in full and I got four notices that I have a balance of $50. I've called two or three times to get it straightened out. But I keep getting the notices. The people that I spoke with indicate that they are taking care of it. I don't know if it was a promotion, but I don't owe them $50. But it still comes up on the account because the last time I called for service, the person indicated that I had a balance of $50. I got one notice at my home in Chicago for that policy. And then I got the notice here in Maryland for the same thing. And each time, I called American Home Shield to let them know that I don't owe them anything.

    Other than that, I've had service with American Home Shield for four years and I’ve been pleased with them. I got them on my home here in Maryland and also in Chicago. And I put my son on American Home Shield for a year. You call Home Shield, then Home Shield gets right on it and assigns a service group to your home. You hear from them and that's it.

    I was happy you do get a text and get it right away, and the name of the contractor. It's just that I had one claim last year with my toilet, and that had to be fixed. Some of the stuff in the toilet were not working properly, and it was running. I turned the water off. American Home Shield is great. They respond right away. But the contractors don't always respond right away. It has been at least two days. And the other contractors that came, it was three days.

    The other claim was two pipes in my bathroom. It was the shower in the bathroom, and the bathtub in the family bathroom in the hallway. The garbage disposal was also a problem. The tech came out here. He told me because the leak had occurred over a period of time, that it was nothing that American Home Shield could cover. I read through the contract, so I saw that. And I also knew the insurance company would not cover it because of the period of time that it was occurring. I got to take care of myself. I understood. The guy that was here was good. He walked through stuff, explained things to me, and why it works, showed it to me, took the pictures that he needed to take.

    I will recommend the young man to a friend. He was great on explanation, especially when you have to turn down a customer, which he did professionally. He just didn’t turn down the coverage that was not there for me. He also explained the reason why, and he went through that. He explained it well, and he explained why it happened the way that it did with the period of time, and what happens when it's continuous. You're not able to get to it or you don't see it, and what happened in my case.

    The only thing I did not understand was getting an invoice at zero but getting charged on my card. I just happened to be balancing my checkbook, and I looked, and there the charge was. I had no idea what it was about. I went back to the email that he sent me because I read the email right after he left, so he sent it right away. And then it has zeros on it. But I go to balance the checkbook a day later, and there the charge is with no explanation. I still haven't got anything with that. The $100, I know that gets charged right away so that you can assign a contractor. That I understand, I just didn't understand getting charged the $54.

    One of the heaters wasn't working. The experience submitting the claim was fine. The first time the contractor came, they fixed it. It was working. And then, I had to call them back and they had to send another technician out the next day. Because they fixed it around 2:00, and then at 5 o'clock in the morning, when I woke up, the heater stopped working again. I called them and I told them that it stopped working again. They put me on the schedule and then, they came back. A different technician came and fixed it. They came back and made it right. They didn't make me wait and say, “Well, we have to put you on another day.” They came back the same day I called them and said, “Yeah, you fixed it. But it stopped working.” That was good.

    The guy from ABK Lock came out for our rekeying claim. He was on time, did the work in a timely manner, and was professional. He wore a mask and some booties. He sanitized and kept his distance. He did a great job and I was satisfied with the work that he did. The quality of service is better with American Home Shield, except for one recent dispute I've had with them and it still hasn't been resolved yet. I sold the house and I told them that the new house I was going to, they are purchasing another American Home Shield plan for me. I needed to cancel the one that I currently have with them 'cause it was supposed to go till April. They were okay with that and they said because I have another contract with them on the new property, they would not charge me a cancellation fee. That sounded great.

    However, what happened was that I was charged on December 10th for a whole month. So, me being charged that time carries coverage all the way through January 10th. If I cancelled it on December 11th, I needed that month back. If they wanna pardon me for one day because I cancelled that one day after I was charged, that's fine. But I basically paid for a whole month for one day of coverage for a house I didn't even own anymore. I asked if I could get a refund for that month that they charged me for and they said no because I wasn't charged a cancellation fee for the previous contract. I told them that they said the cancellation fee was waived because I have a new contract. I had to provide a new contract number and everything like that so there was back and forth.

    They said eventually that they couldn't issue a refund. I asked if we could escalate this to management. They agreed and said that someone would reach out to me. They never did. That's my only concern. I understand they wanna charge me for that day because I didn't cancel it before, but I should receive some type of prorated amount for the month that I paid for when I needed to cancel it.

    It's easy submitting the claims online and the repair people were on time and very polite. We had two problems, which were a garbage disposal and a faucet issue. They didn't have a faucet with them when they came and did the garbage disposal, so they came back a second time. Everything has been great since.

    We go online when we have a claim to submit with AHS and their website is easy to use. We recently used them for an AC issue and the tech who came out changed out a switch then got it back running. It was quick and easy. He was really cool and he explained things to us. All in all, I haven't had any problems so far with AHS and the warranty is worth it. You don't have to pay very much, and they come out and fix the appliance or replace it. We highly recommend them.

    My claim was for my garbage disposal. I had a leak in the bathtub, and my commode in the bathroom downstairs was not working. Brick Street Plumbing said they would report back to American Home Shield. But as of yet, no one has contacted me. Because the tech said that everything needed to be replaced except for the shower thing that you turn the water on. That is the only one that was fixed. Other than that, when I submitted my claim to American Home Shield the young man that took my information was very polite.

    The first visit was a nice guy. He did what he thought was right and it just didn't hold up. The second guy took it deeper and realized that this system was getting pretty old and needed to be replaced. But he fixed it and he made it go. As long as it's going, I’m happy. The biggest problem is the time it takes in a situation that may not be life threatening, but very uncomfortable. If you have an HVAC problem, you ought to get that stuff fixed within a day, 24 hours, not three days. Then you have to do it again. I was regulating the circuit breaker just to try to make things happen and it was annoying. The second guy was top shelf and I would use him to replace my unit if it got to that point. I'm satisfied overall.

    Champco Appliance Repair is awesome. My oven was burning things and something wasn't plugged in right. It took them less than 24 hours to call me and make the appointment, and the guy fixed it. He was there maybe 15 minutes. It was a good experience. They've been to the house before too. However, AHS doesn't always get 4-star repair people. I usually don't have a problem but they could not have 2-star appliance repairmen who on more than one of their reviews said as soon as they got paid for the job, they never saw those people again. It’s Appliance Superheroes in Clovis and they've done two jobs at my house. I couldn't get one of them shifted to Champco because they said he already put in that he had finished the service. But he didn't. He came, said, “You need a wheel and a gasket,” but never came back so I still have no dishwasher.

    The contractor that was sent for the plumbing claim was great. They took care of it right away. Now I have an open claim for a dryer. The tech that came out said that the board in the dryer needed to be replaced. However, they don't make that part anymore. But Sears had been searching for it in the last six weeks. American Home Shield is really good for sorts of service calls like plumbers and electricians. But for something like an appliance replacement, I am really pretty disappointed.

    Cities Appliance came and fixed our built-in combination microwave. The door on it wasn't closing properly and they had to replace a part and readjust a little item. Submitting claims to AHS works out fine for me. I call them on the phone and sometimes there is a lengthy wait. There was one time where the contractor never reached out to us and AHS found someone else who did call and we had the problem solved. You should probably get Home Shield. I've heard of other warranty companies like Center Point and how their coverage kind of sucks.

    AHS has competitive coverage but it's difficult to speak to a representative. The hold times are terrible. Recently, we had a call in but we decided to cancel it and fix it ourselves. It was about 35 minutes on hold. That's happened multiple times to me whenever I've had to call in and talk to somebody. But the website is very easy to use. I did a claim for the garbage disposal that was leaking at the bottom and I got the auto email saying that it's been allocated and I could contact them to set up an appointment or they'd contact me when I hadn't proactively called them once I got the notification with who it was assigned to. This time, the service was very prompt. They got out there much quicker than I expected. We've had them out a few times for different things over the last couple years and they remembered coming out here before. They got everything done. Unfortunately, they didn't test out the water and there was hardly any water pressure at all. I ended up having to take apart a faucet and get it to flow again.

    I submitted a claim with AHS on the New Year. It went through the automated system and it automatically kicked out. The company has really bad reviews after I went and looked. They were closed the day our furnace went out and we didn't have heat. So I had to go in. I found Arts Heating and Cooling. Then I had to call back and speak to an AHS rep to get it switched to have him come out. The guy from AHS that I talked to was good. He understood the issue. He was like, “Just protocol. I have to call first. If I can't get ahold of anybody, then we can switch it.” So he called and then he called Arts and then got ahold of them right away. It wasn't too big of an issue. It just took a little bit of time to get everything done.

    The tech that came was great and very personable. He was able to articulate the issue and what the solution was. He walked me through what it was, if it happened again, how to deal with it at home rather than calling American Home Shield right away. Everything's been working great since the repair. I would definitely use him again.

    I've liked American Home Shield's service so far. I'm happy with them and plan to continue with them. Recently, I put in two claims at the same time and it was a good experience. One claim was for electric and the other one was for the dishwasher. For the electric issue, we have two outlets in one of the rooms then all of a sudden, none of them was working and the light fixture wasn't working either. But apparently it was due to loose wiring. It was a holiday weekend and the tech came pretty quickly. The time that it took for the repair was not that long either. He was also thorough, nice and friendly, too. Everything's been fine since the repair, but my other claim for the dishwasher wasn't completed. They needed to order a part because the door latch was broken. So I'm still waiting for them to call me back with that.
