    I love American Home Shield. I've had them for a while and I started to go to someone else, then I changed my mind and stayed with them. One time, my oven wouldn't heat from the bottom. They had a repair man come and he was very nice and professional. I highly recommend American Home Shield.

    Our heater just turned off and stopped working. Cool Image came out to the house and they were very polite. I worked with them personally. They didn't have the part on hand and they had to order it. They did their best to get it taken care of and came back the next day. It was fairly quick. It's just that they said we have to always repair the part every year. Other than that, American Home Shield is really easy to use.

    We had a sewage backup in the house and we couldn’t use any of the commodes. The only problem that I had with the entire thing was that the contractor’s ratings were not good. So, I requested American Home Shield that a new contractor be assigned. They told me that there weren't any other contractors that could be assigned to that task and that it was that contractor or no one that day. So, I said that was fine since I had no other choice. Because of that, the original contractors that were assigned came out and it worked fine. They were very good and were here in the afternoon between 12:00 and 4:00 as they indicated. They tried to clean the line from inside but it wasn’t clearable. So, they had to go out and they cleared it to the street.

    The man who came out was on time. He was really nice. He repaired faucet in the bathroom in no time at all. It worked out well. This particular tech first came out here to repair my water heater.     I had an air condition issue. To call AHS, everything was cool. I was told it could be two days before they could reach someone. However, I didn't like that I wound up paying $100 service fee when I had to call and coordinate for the repair company to come out to my house, and they ended up coming out a day earlier. I could have picked up the phone and done that already. AHS should look far beyond when it comes to, "Where's the AC issue?" They could have called and see if they could have gotten an earlier appointment, not tell me "Hey, it could be up to two days." Yet they want a formal payment upfront.

    Other than that, I recommended AHS to my mom. It worked out great for her hot water heater. It has good points. The only bad point is that, even fixing the AC, they don't tell you Freon is $85 a pound and up. So, even though you think you're paying $100, the techs then come out and say, "Your Freon is not covered." But I still walk with worth 400-plus, plus a $100 service fee. So, you still spend 500. It seemed like to call AHS regarding AC was for nothing.

    I've been with Home Shield for 12 years, if not more, and sometimes, I gotta be on them for them to do what they need to do. I have had some experiences that weren't great and I had to constantly call back, but eventually, they got the problem solved. I also don't think it was just them, but connecting and getting parts for certain things that break. On the other hand, there was one experience where they were right on the dot. The repair people came out, they had their masks on, they put their foot coverings on and came in. They assessed the problem and took care of it without a problem. They got the part they needed, and they put it up. It didn't take any time. It was great. They were such gentlemen too. I haven't seen that type of quality in a long time. Even Home Shield, they took my claim and they called me the same day to make the appointment. It all went well, so they're doing better.

    The contractor was very professional. They were very good and detail-oriented. They're still working on the last claim I had, but they've come and fixed everything I've ever needed. Overall, AHS has done a good job. Once you get through and talk to somebody, they're pretty good. But it seems like it's a lot easier online now, other than there is some verbiage that could be added or a comment field on their website. They don't really give you anywhere to put anything like that. It's a bunch of boxes you fill in, and sometimes your thing does not fit in that check box.

    The chain on our garage door had come loose and the technician did a great job of addressing the issue. I thought I was gonna have to replace the unit. But he figured out that there was a worn gear inside the box itself and he got it all done. He was done in about an hour. It was clean and I was very happy. With American Home Shield, the bigger issue was the timing. I had gone through extensive repair and renovation on my kitchen island. The pipes had broken and the leak was causing a lot of damage in the kitchen. So I called the plumber. We had stopped the leak.

    American Home Shield said that because I called the plumber first, they wouldn't cover the plumbing repair. Then they gave me a place to appeal it, and that thing bounced back. So the appeal was not delivered at all. The people on the phone were rather terse. They were just giving me a hard time in that particular situation. I just didn't have the time to call American Home Shield and then get a guy out because it would usually take a couple of days for somebody to come out and service something. So if you got an emergency, you got a problem. I had a couple of other experiences that were fine but this one incident soured me a bit.

    The washing machine was not draining nor cycling and when I submitted a claim to American Home Shield, I was told when to expect the contractor. But they did not meet the expectation. Some of it was not the fault of the contractor because we had a snowstorm but the others were their fault. They told me that they were coming and then, they said that they had something else come up. But they were great, very knowledgeable, professional while they were there and quick on the repair. The repair amplifies my laundry situation because now, my washing machine is on point like it's brand-new. So, it works very efficiently. I would highly recommend AHS to anybody who purchases a home.

    The plumbing repair through American Home Shield went good. The technician was very helpful. He told me exactly what the issue was. The drain pipe is only one inch, and it needs to be two inch.     For a kitchen appliance claim, we waited on a part for well over a month and nobody still knew anything. When I called the appliance company, they would say they were still waiting for the part and that it was on backorder. But AHS replaced it. Then, for our most recent claim, which was for the AC, the first time a tech came out, the guy told me that there was a leak and he fixed it. It cost me $75 plus 500-something dollars for the Freon. 30 days later, it went out again. I don't think the contractor knew what they were doing.

    A guy from RR Jones was then sent out and he needed some kind of part. When the guy brought it out, it wasn't the brand and it made this loud noise when it ran. He explained to me what the issue was. And he was quick, efficient, and prompt. Also, AHS was gonna re-charge me for the Freon but my son-in-law was able to talk to them. They took that off but I had to pay for the part that they replaced.

    With my recent claim, I've been having multiple issues with the same unit and I was extremely frustrated with the process because I didn't understand how five or six different people could come out and not fix the problem that will last for one day, and then the same issue will occur. Clearly, they weren't identifying what the real issue was. But the last time they came out was a good one because whoever they sent out knew what they were doing. I haven't gotten a call from my tenants saying that there's no heat so I'm assuming it's pretty good.

    This last time, I waited almost two weeks for them to give me a callback for an appointment and I didn't understand that. That wasn't always the case. It'd be a day or two in-between, and then they'll call and give me an appointment. With no heat and the same issue, they should be doing that right away. I asked to change the company, but American Home Shield said they couldn't because it was the same problem and the contractor, Liberty, needed to come out and figure out what was going on.

    I had other issues with my rental property and I contacted American Home Shield and they came out to fix the problem, so I highly recommend it, but just be careful with companies that represent them. It's very important to understand that when contracting these people out, they represent American Home Shield's name. If they did a terrible job, then it is reflected on American Home Shield. I have other experiences with American Home Shield in which every time I call, boom, right away, I get a response. My wife is selling her condo so I'm going to buy a year warranty again with them. The prices are reasonable.

    I had one occasion where the technicians dropped the dryer and left. They didn’t install it because it was supposed to be a stackable. I have told two people about it when I ordered it, that the dryer is stackable on top of the washer. The delivery guy was gonna take it out but I asked him where he was going with that? I told him I’ve been waiting a week and a half. He said he couldn't do it. So he dropped it right there. I had to call back, and that was when they made it better for me. They came out two days later and had them install it the proper way.

    American Home Shield is a great company. They've upped their prices now to cover the Freon but some of the vendors that they use are not the brightest. The multiple calls that they have to go back out is very frustrating. My ice maker still doesn't work properly to this day. You get to the point where after somebody has been out there six times, you don't want to deal with it anymore. There are some other companies that American Home Shield contracts with that are not suitable. They come do their quick fix and leave. AHS could probably save some money if they quit trying to Band-Aid it and just replace. I will recommend AHS. Out of all the warranty companies that I deal with, it is the better one. They're frustrating but you have to learn how to deal with the people that you're talking to and get your point across.

    There were several issues with the pool but the tech from Varner Spa & Pool did a great job. The main issue was that the pump would run but it would not pull water. He tried several fixes, gaskets, glue, and everything he thought to get it to pull water and it wouldn’t do it. He came out three times to give a benefit of the doubt but he ended up saying the pump was done and he made the determination that it needs to be replaced. He was upfront and honest. He told me exactly what the issue was and his work was very timely and professionally done. We did the social distance and spoke six foot apart. Also, he cleaned up after himself.

    But I have a claim now that’s kind of sketchy. My dryer is on the fritz and AHS gave me Whirlpool’s number. I stayed on hold for them at least 35 minutes every time I called and when I got ahold of them, they said they never got a dispatch ID or a notification from Home Shield. I called AHS back and a rep tried while I was on hold with her. It was again 35 plus minutes and no contact with Whirlpool. The rep settled my issues and she was very nice, polite, and professional. AHS gave me another contractor and we have a date of the 23rd for a service rep to come out and check my dryer. AHS has been spot on if I have any questions and it's a money-saver.

    I am a divorcee, so I live by myself. I also did not know how to fix anything and I’m on a very limited income. Having a home warranty gives me the satisfaction of knowing if my heat pump or an appliance would go out, I have to pay $100 but, usually, it's fixed. I have an electric, tankless hot water heater and I've had to call about it twice. I've had to call for my stove one time as well. I live 20 minutes south of Richmond, Virginia, near Petersburg, Virginia. I’m right off the interstate, but sometimes it's hard to find contractors that work with American Home Shield. That's the only thing that I have a complaint about. Everything else has been good. When they find a contractor, they're pumped about coming out and that's a plus.

    I was not very impressed with the people that came out and worked on my tankless hot water heater the first time. It was Serenity Plumbing. They halfway did the job and I had trouble with it a month ago. I called American Home Shield and they sent Pond Brothers Contractors out. They're from Waverly, Virginia, which is a 45-minute drive from here. They are amazing. We had had an ice storm, and there was a power surge issue where the fuse protected the hot water heater. All this man had to do was replace the fuse, but he had to find the fuse because it was very tiny. He went above and beyond. From what he told me, it's a family-owned business and they do a bit of everything. He does the electrical part, while his brother does plumbing. They each have their own specialty. I would recommend them anytime.

    I submitted a couple of claims but the representatives were great in those two other two calls. So, everything was fixed. On the other hand, I couldn't understand this recent rep and she didn't know what she was doing. She told me, "Oh, well, they couldn't do that and they couldn't do this." I said, "What are you talking about?" So, I had to call her back twice. But the tech came in a timely manner. He fixed my water pump timer for me. He went way above and beyond. He did it that day. So now, my pool is nice and clean. I would tell others about AHS. I've been trying to get my daughter-in-law to get it.

For the dishwasher, the tech said that he couldn't do one connection to the dishwasher because they weren't allowed to do that. They needed a part. Now I have to wait till they've called me.     As soon as AHS told me who was coming, I called them first thing that morning and the plumbers came really quickly, that very morning. The problem was with some kind of a valve inside the lever that turns the hot and cold on in the shower, so they replaced the valve and fixed it. They were very professional and everything went fine. Other than that, the claims process is crap and you're on hold forever before you finally get to speak to someone. I've used AHS twice and I was frustrated both times. One time, it was almost 20 minutes before I got to speak to someone. But when you finally do get to speak to someone, they're pretty knowledgeable and very helpful. The last person I talked to was a gentleman and he was really good and fast.

    The first time I called in, I got a lady and she was very sweet. She was also very helpful about telling me how the service worked. That claim was for the washing machine that wasn't draining and the guy that came out thought that he was going to need a part, but it ended up that it was the filter that was plugged. He showed me how to clean it because it's an upright and he was very good. He fixed it right away and I was tickled to death. So far, I'm very pleased with how the service works with AHS.     On February 13th, I came home to find my 80-gallon hot water tank had burst at the seam. It was flooding my basement. I shut it off, called American Home Shield and made a claim. It took them until the 21st to get a plumber to my house to evaluate the situation. The first plumber from More Than Plumbing company came out. On that day, they installed a 50-gallon hot water tank. They refused to match an 80-gallon or a similar-sized tank to match capacity and function. They stated that there was an internal policy, which I was not privy to, to say that they would only install up to a 50-gallon hot water tank with a proportioning valve.

    It worked for about a day then shut off. I didn't have hot water. On Thursday the 25th, the same technician came back out to my house and “tuned” the tank and the proportion valve. Again, it worked for about a day. It won't work even till today unless we go down and push the reset button on the tank’s fuse panel. I called American Home Shield again. They sent out a second plumber to evaluate the installation. That plumber looked at it, took a picture of it, didn't touch anything and didn't do anything but hear my story. He told me that it must be a bad tank and that he would report that to American Home Shield. He recommended replacement based on the warranty of the tank.

    I have been in touch with the first plumber and they were waiting for American Home Shield to give them authorization. I checked on my American Home Shield dashboard and it said that I could call the contractor and make arrangements. I took a screenshot of that and sent it to the plumber. They said that they've been in contact with American Home Shield’s sales representative and that they're working on a solution to the problem. That was Friday. I called American Home Shield again this morning and complained. I asked for it to be escalated to a supervisor. I still don't understand why it's taking so long to get fixed. The supervisor, Rose, stated that that first plumbing company is refusing to do the service so they're gonna send out a third plumber. I spoke with her about an hour ago and she'll get back to me within 24 hours from today.

    My family's been without consistent hot water since February 13th. I pay for a contract with them that explicitly states that they can put in whatever brand and model that they want but I will not lose capacity and function. When I asked them about that, they referred me to another section which gives them the power of a god and ignores the other section of the warranty that says I will not lose capacity or function. When I told them that I am losing capacity, they said, “No. The proportion valve gives you more capacity,” which is a lie. It doesn't give more capacity. It just mixes water. It's its whole function. It’s a valve. It's not a reservoir.

    I'm extremely upset with American Home Shield not honoring their warranty, with dragging their feet, with the lack of customer service and with the lack of communication. They're taking every opportunity they can to save a penny versus ensuring that a customer is satisfied with the product that I've purchased for the last three years with them. They're a fraudulent company. They should not be in business. It's been my experience with them on everything that I've called them about. In the past, it took them a month to solve a dishwasher problem. When I asked for a replacement of a Bosch dishwasher, they refused to replace it with a Bosch saying that they don't carry that brand in their replacement inventory. I was forced to take a different brand which I'm not overly happy with. Again, it took them a month to resolve that.

    Somebody needs to hold them accountable. The Better Business Bureau needs to clean them up and get their good ratings and their awards offline and get some truth in advertising. They are absolutely false advertising on the internet. Their customer service is a joke. It's a miracle that when I called them, I can understand them. They're not English speakers so there's always a language barrier. They read from a script. There's no compassion or empathy or sympathy from them. I was told in this process that I could take it or leave it, I should have read the fine print, and I could take the cash-out. The plumbing company that I was working with found one with a three-week lead time that was priced at $4,200 and American Home Shield offered me a cash-out of $537 which is akin to being slapped in the face.

    I have to go buy another one because I have a Jacuzzi tub in my master bath which has been made inoperable and unusable by this decision by them to only replace it with a 50-gallon tank. When you have a 64-gallon Jacuzzi tub and you only have a 50-gallon hot water tank, you can't use it.

    The emergency heat wasn't working. Air Technical came out. They said that it was a very unusual breakage. A coil had broken inside. They went and replaced the coil and had it fixed within the day. They were very polite, courteous, very informative and helpful. I would prefer them being my go-to company, versus the one that AHS usually sends, which is A-USA. They're horrible.

    The AC unit is making a strange noise. Someone told me that it meant that a bearing was about to go out. So the AC guy came and looked at it. But nobody told me that the American Home Shield wouldn't take care of a situation like that. I have to wait for the AC to break down before they will actually do something about it. So they just wasted my time and money. They should have told me about that upfront. I'm very dissatisfied. It's not a good first experience.

    One of the faucets in the shower tub was dripping when it turned off so it wasn't turning off properly. The contractor replaced the cartridge on that and it's turning off fine now. There was also a drip leak from the ceiling above in another part of the room in the basement. They cut the hole open larger and were able to patch and seal where the pipes were leaking. I'm not sure if they have to coordinate getting somebody to fix the patch but overall they did a great job. So far, so good with AHS.

    My AC wasn't cooling. The tech from Total Air Care worked with me and I was able to talk to him on the phone. He was extremely polite and effective. The issue had to do with the electricals.     One of my light fixtures in a room where there were two other light fixtures wasn't working. We thought it was the battery or the light bulbs were out so we replaced those. It still didn't work.     The first claim I did went pretty good. I called American Home Shield and they set it up. I received an appointment from Allcity. The tech came out on time and was very professional. He did something and told me what was wrong and then he had to order a part. But I had to call to follow-up because I noticed that it was going into the third week and I didn't hear anything from the time the tech left and he gave his summary on what was wrong with my washer. Then I found out that the part had already come in that previous week and no one reached out to reschedule an appointment.

    On the second go-around, I called Home Shield. They sent the inquiry to Allcity again and I didn't hear anything about an appointment. So, I followed up and called and left a message. I didn’t hear anything in a couple of days so I called again. Then the rep said that they got my message. It was a little weird 'cause they got my message and they never called me back. But the one good thing that I could say was that the technician knew what he was talking about and he fixed the washing machine. That was why I requested him again. But as far as coordinating and responding, that needs a little bit of work. So American Home Shield was not the issue. I'm satisfied with them. They sent the request out to Allcity and then it was in Allcity's hand to get back to me and set up the schedule.

    When I called, AHS gave me someone out of Bryan the first time, and he came by. He told me that that other part was probably going to go out, and it did two months and 10 days later, which made me call and get another $100 visit. When I called the second time, that company couldn't come until a week later so they found Suncoast, which came out on Thursday. I was just a little frustrated because the microwave wasn't fixed the first time. If the guy knew the part was going to go out, he should have went ahead and fixed it. He told me that the keypad is usually what goes out, which he didn't replace. He got it working the first time.

    What was wrong with the first time was that the microwave was blinking and showing that it did something when I wasn't aware of it. I didn't think that was good. Two months later, it just told me that the keypad shorted, which was diagnosed before and didn't fix. I could have my son pull the microwave out and replace it with a new one for 200. The claim was addressed fine. It's just that it's 10 days before getting any work done after they diagnose. I wound up three weeks without a microwave. But that wasn't Suncoast's fault. On that one appliance, when you figure out that you're paying almost 600 for the service, and then you're waiting three weeks to get a microwave fixed and 200 bucks to call, I can't afford it, that's why I'm not gonna renew. Also, they charge so much when all they're doing is a referral.

    AHS is like a nice safety net especially when you're retired and on a fixed income. There is an assurance that you can get things fixed when you need them. I do my claims over my phone. I try to stay away from the online stuff. I'm older and so sick of everything going through online. You change your password every week. I'm frustrated with it so I would much rather talk to somebody.

    The garage door company was great. They came right out and showed me what needed to be done. They fixed the issue but it was not covered under the policy. I was frustrated with that. I've had a couple things happen recently and AHS has been really good but my complaint is when I talked to the original scheduler, I told her the motor was working. The door wouldn't lift up or down. She should have told me that that wasn't going to be covered. She was polite and helpful but she needs to be clear with what she's reading in front of her. I like transparency and I think that she was looking right at it. I paid the $100 for them to do that. I have two other garage door people I've used before and it would have been so much cheaper. I still recommended this service to my friends but I'm going to be more careful with the person I talk to to make sure that they understand what the problem is.

    There was an issue with the pool filter. The technician was good. The repair work was top-notch and quick. Submitting the claim to American Home Shield was easy, but getting the contractor I wanted to come out was difficult. They kept saying they couldn't find Master Pools in their system, even though they were contractors with them. With my experience with AHS, they always seem to send a contractor who's very far away to come and do the work. I don't really like that because then I gotta wait for somebody who is two hours away to come back again. I'd much rather have local contractors.

    We had a claim for the three sockets that were not working. The claim experience was good. The techs came out and fixed it right away. The stove claim got fixed right away too. They said it’d take two weeks to get the parts but it took them two hours. So, it was a heck of a turnaround time. Then they came back out the same day and fixed it. For the refrigerator claim, the part is gonna take a week, unfortunately. But it's a common problem from what the technician said and it should be a very easy fix once they come back out, which would be this Friday. AHS is a great service. So far, we're around $1,000 net savings.

    During the first inspection, the tech said the appliance issue was not due to wear and tear. I complained and asked for American Home Shield to send another inspector. The second guy came in here, he reported the issue, and it was approved that we will get a replacement. They refunded 712 and I had to put in some money but at least I got a replacement and it's a newer version. Also, American Home Shield is okay for me but they have to get somebody who is good and knows what they're doing when inspecting houses.

    I needed an AC repair. The techs came in, handled the business, and corrected what was broken. They fixed it quickly and they were nice. They were also respectful and professional. I've got another claim right now for a microwave and AHS had somebody come out for that two weeks ago. They're ordering parts and no one has called me so far. I could have gone ahead and bought another microwave if it was going to take this long and if I had known that. Another thing is, AHS would tell you one thing and you would think you'd be covered for something. When my water heater went out, they had someone come out and replace it. But I ended up paying 500 and some dollars for a water heater that could have been $100. So, that killed it for me right there. Everything after that, there always seemed to be a problem.

    The thermostat was broken and when I called the claim in, the rep at American Home Shield said that I would get a call from the person who was going to come out to fix the problem. The guy called the very next day and I scheduled an appointment that was convenient for me. That was when he came and he was there on time. He put a new thermostat in within minutes and was gone.     We submitted a claim for our water heater. It froze and cracked. Our experience with AHS didn't go well this time. First of all, a language barrier is a problem with the customer care advocates on that side of American Home Shield. The second thing is, most of the customer care people are not trained to resolve a problem. They just continually repeat the policy and the procedure. I ended up speaking with somebody in the cancellation department three times because I wasn't getting anywhere with those people. I said, "Forget it. Let's cancel." Even though I've had an account for 13 years.

    Those people were trying to get me to stay so, they resolved the issue. I don't have any problem with the way that the issue was ultimately resolved. American Home Shield isn't going to cover it, which is fine. But the problem was that the original technician that they sent out to assist me, overcharged. When I realized that he was going to overcharge me, I called back to tell American Home Shield.

    I don't know if there's a language barrier or if they're just trained to say this. But they kept reminding me what they cover and what they don't. I told them that I didn't mind paying for whatever isn't covered, but the man was price gouging. The reason I know he was price gouging is because he gave me one quote from the American Home Shield, prospected what I would have to pay out of pocket. Then, when I said, "Hey, this is a lot. I think I'm gonna need my insurance to help me. Can I have a quote without the American Home Shield?" It was way less.

    Then, American Home Shield wouldn't tell me how much they were paying him so I could really have a full picture. I've reported him now with American Plumber Association.     Through all these years I've had American Home Shield, I've never really had a problem until my washing machine broke last year. They couldn't find a part for it. They said the part wasn't being made anymore. Finally, they found the part and that took them three months. It was a big thing. Other than that, American Home Shield usually takes care of stuff right away. We have a claim where the water tank had rusted on the top and it was leaking water from the top. We need a new water heater. A plumber will be coming back out tomorrow. He will be picking up a new water heater, bringing it, and putting it in.

    I have an ongoing claim that's been going on for at least a week now. When I submitted it to AHS, I didn't get an immediate response and they waited almost a week before they could get out. But the techs came and checked the problem. They were very nice and informative. I had to get some other stuff done to dry out where there was water penetration and today, they're supposed to come out and install the water heater with an additional $860 worth of stuff.

    Other than that, one of the people that I talked with in American Home Shield's office was not that pleasant. One of the crew that came out recommended another company that they deal with to do the drying out and they said they would be back after that was done. Then, I got a call from Immediate Response a little later and they asked when I wanted to set up the appointment. I told them it had to wait and the company had not come to check out the moisture problem had been taken care of.

    I also told the rep that if they called the company that did the other stuff, they would tell them when that would be ready and Immediate Response could start. And this person was kind of snippy. He said that he had to call that company, then I had to go back to Immediate Response, et cetera. So, it seemed like I was being put out here. It was not a big deal, but it would have been easy for them to just communicate with the company they recommended to me and find out when they could do the installation. In the end, I called and found out from the other company, then I told Immediate Response and they're coming out today. So, all's well that ends well.

    When the call came in, and I called the company and said, "Hey, what's going on? Are you coming out?" The rep said he was trying to find out what the problem was. When I explained to him what the problem was and what kind of microwave it was, one of them said, "This is a two-man job. It's only one man. We don't have another person.” They had to cancel. I called another company up and told them what it was. They had to reassign the call to another company, which came a couple of days later. That gentleman came in and had the tools that could take the microwave down himself. And then he did the job. He replaced some parts and then that was it.

    The last one that came out was fine. He came for my fridge. That guy was more human. He was good because we talked about the issue. Even though he could not duplicate the problem, but I could tell, "Okay, he understood what was going on. He has seen this before. This is more like my personal tech I called out." But the previous ones never had time to come to me. They are not there when I expect them to. Usually, AHS assigns me a company. I call the company myself. I don't wait because they would call me within 48 hours. I called the company and I found out they don't work on the weekends. Why would AHS assign someone for my fridge, I have medication in there, but they don’t work on a weekend? It was Saturday. I had to wait for him to come in Monday. That didn't make sense to me.

    There are certain things like a fridge which is not something you should say it's not a priority. I have to have medication in there. For example, I just bought a bunch of meat I put in the fridge, and the fridge took a hike. There is smoking, even though it was burning, It could be a surge. I couldn't plug it in again because what if it could catch fire. I called AHS and then told them that, but they told me it's not an emergency. What is considered an emergency? You just spent money on food. AHS will not reimburse my money, but tell me it’s not an emergency. That is something I couldn't understand.

    I was gonna cancel my service because at the end of the day, I can call somebody tomorrow from here and it's gonna cost me the same amount of money I spent a year with AHS to repair the fridge. They are there when I call them, but the technician, I have to wait three days. I've never had service in the same day. But if I was paying my money directly, I will have service on the spot.

    We submitted a claim online for a light fixture outlet that wasn't working. It would turn on but it wouldn't stay on, or sometimes, it wouldn't turn on at all and then it would turn on by itself after the fact. I got a phone call to schedule an appointment with the assigned company. I also got some text messages alerting me that they were coming. The tech did an evaluation and he said he couldn't do anything until they approved it. AHS's website can be a little bit more specific in the options that I could select. I selected “Other” instead of anything more specific ‘cause it didn't offer me the option to select that the outlet was coming in and out. It was just like, “switch outlet.”

    For the most part, it's a good experience with American Home Shield. We've been customers for about 20 years now with two different homes. The process was very simple and very self-explanatory. Whenever I make a claim, I go to their website. It's very easy to navigate. It would be nice to have a comment spot where we can give details to American Home Shield that can be passed on to the service provider.     I put in a request for my garbage disposal and my hot water heater and the tech came out the same day. He tech replaced the garbage disposal and it was fixed. But I still have to follow up regarding my hot water heater because it's not completely fixed. There were two issues with my hot water heater.     My water heater was making a bad noise and I called American Home Shield to put in the claim. I went through the recording and the only thing I didn't like about it was that before you could even talk to them about what was going on, they wanted your money first. But they said that the contractor would get in contact with me probably the next day, which they did. They came out, looked at the water heater and said that the settings on the heater were set way too high. They thought that maybe it was what was causing the noise. So, they turned them down. It did not work so I called back AHS for a recall. They contacted the manufacturer of the water heater because apparently, it's still under warranty because it's only a couple of years old. The manufacturer said that they need to replace the thermostat and heating element but they were to order them. They won't be in until sometime this week.

    The tech’s service was great and he was prompt in calling me. He got here when he said he would be here. He told me when he did this that this does not do the job, then I don’t need to call AHS for a recall. They came to get back in touch and then, he would come back and get with the manufacturer. So, he was very knowledgeable and I was comfortable with him.

    The only thing that AHS does that I don't see eye-to-eye with is they will not replace anything unless they absolutely have to. When we first bought the house and moved in, the dishwasher wasn't working right. The technician had to change the door latch on and to do that, he had to change the whole circuit board which cost twice as much as taking this old piece of junk out and putting in a new dishwasher. But AHS wouldn't do it. Even the guy told me that they wouldn't do it. No matter how old it is and how much it costs to repair it, if it's possible, AHS wants to repair it. It would be better if they would weigh into the factor that the machine is X number of years old and to repair it is gonna cost just as much or more than it will be for them to put a new dishwasher in. They should give the customer a new dishwasher and move on.

    Although we've had a great techs so far, one of the things that was frustrating was one time, a guy came to our house and he brought a plumber to come over. He said, “Well, your PSI and your water pressure is too high.” I get what they're saying, but I don't control that. I bought the house this way. The guy couldn't touch anything per the whatever, but he said, “Oh, but for $1,000, we can fix that.” Of course, he can, for $1,000.

    We've only used American Home Shield a couple of times. We got it as a first-year home warranty when we bought our house and we're probably gonna buy it again. With things like the water pressure though, there should be leniency depending on what they're doing. If they're saying the water pressure is that high, then they need to cover putting in a regulator to that extent. It's like a car warranty. When you have a car warranty and it’s bumper to bumper, they don’t go, “Oh, we don't cover headlights.” Bumper-to-bumper, right?

    It's easy to submit claims but I've had five or six times for a contractor to come fix my heater. It kept breaking down They made it sound like it was hard to get American Home Shield to pay for a new furnace. I'm told from American Home Shield that whatever the contractor recommends is what they go by. But if they see the same issue being called in to get repaired, there should be a limit to how many times they repair something versus replacing it. It cost me close to $700 for the $75 I paid each time.

    During a real freeze, my furnace decided to quit, and it was the second time in the last month or two. I called my furnace man and he came out, wiggled some wires, tightened things up, and it came back on. It worked for about two weeks and it went off again. I called him back out and he said that the problem was an electric switch box, and I needed an electrician to come out. I went back to American Home Shield and they sent Georgia Boy out.     All at once, our plumbing seized up and it put the water out on the floor in the laundry room and nothing would go any place, and the garbage disposal was locked up. The technician came and looked at everything. Instead of just coming in like most plumbers and doing something, he went around and looked at everything and decided what the problem was, and then he started working on that and got it all fixed for us.     When I bought the house, I wasn't sure how old the furnace was. The previous owners hadn't told me and I know that the house was 25 years old. So, maybe the furnace should be looked at.     I got a quick response when I submitted a claim for my microwave. There was a follow-up by text and email and from the contractor as well. The tech came within a few days.     AHS does a good job. My wife usually calls in the service requests to them then they're recorded on a website. We track the progress through the website and they send us texts regarding the status of the service request. Recently, the water dispenser would leak after it dispensed water and the ice maker wasn't working properly. It was only giving crushed ice but not complete ice cubes. I liked the contractor that came. They were very knowledgeable and did an excellent job with the repair. They taught me a lot about the way the appliances work. The only problem with the repair was that it took a long time to get the parts. I understand because of the pandemic, there is a great deal of difficulty getting parts for certain appliances these days but nobody kept me informed that they were still waiting. I had to call three or four times. Other than that, it went pretty smoothly.

    Calling AHS is better when filing a claim. I tried doing it online and it led to miscommunication because the webpage will not allow you to put in your work order unless you put it in more than one time. But unnecessarily charges can occur because you can't say exactly what's wrong without picking out more than one item.

    The electronic repair went well. The electrician was great. It was a difficult job in some way because he had to figure out where the wire was dead and what was cutting the electric off but he was patient. He took his time and checked every socket to find out where the problem was. He kept trying until he figured it out. He had to go into my garage and I have stuff in there but none of that seemed to hinder him from doing his job. The other claim was terrible. A tech came out for the commode that wouldn't flush but didn't do anything he was supposed to. Then he tried to collect money from me to do some work but I knew that was not what I was supposed to do so I called back. Because I wasn’t getting anywhere, I stated that I would cancel the policy that I had. The lady said, “Give us one more chance. We’ll send somebody different from them company out.” They did that and the next repair guy did a little bit better but I'm still waiting to see if the policy is worth keeping.

    The furnace was lighting unreliably. The AC would turn on and the air would start fine, but sometimes it would be warm, then sometimes it would remain cold. So, I called up the people that installed it and they gave me a couple of diagnostics to go through. It looked like it was going to need some sort of repair and one of the components was faulty. So, I scheduled with American Home Shield and the Alpha Heating guys came twice. The first time they were here, they took a look at it, did a bunch of diagnostics on the electrics, and figured out that it was the circuit board that was faulty. That was pretty quick and took 20 minutes or so.

    Then, they ordered that and they told me they'd come back as soon as it was available. They gave me a call when it was available and scheduled a second visit. On the second visit, they came in and installed the part. It was all really painless and quick. The furnace has been working good ever since and the contractor did the job perfectly. They were also very professional and very efficient.

    The only thing is, American Home Shield's website is kind of bare-bones and there's not much information on there. It doesn't tell you about anything that's happened in the past and it doesn't give you any details of what's going on. It also doesn't tell you who you have a service request with or what the phone number is or when they're scheduled to come. Other than that, I've used AHS for about five different service situations over the years and I've never had a reason to be annoyed or dissatisfied. I stuck with them all the time because it's a reasonable price and it has always worked out. It saved me headaches, too.

    I’ve been receiving brochures in the mail about AHS but I constantly kept throwing them away. Then one Saturday morning, I called them and spoke with a gentleman. He was talking about programs and the different options that I had. I told him that I'd call back then I waited and emailed, asked a few friends about it because they had it. They were telling me they had a good experience, so I went ahead and purchased the policy.

    Recently, the air was blowing but the AC on the outside wasn't working and something was smoking. I called AHS to file a claim and the reps I talked to were nice. They answered my question and assured me that that was going to take care of my claim. The tech who came out told me that he was going to take care of it, then a week or so later, he came back out and replaced my AC unit. It's been working perfectly fine since, so I'm pleased about that. All in all, the warranty is very important to have due to my situation and it saved me a lot of money. Plus, they were prompt on doing the process versus me doing it on my own since I have to work. They kept me in contact as well.

    Our tenants have been putting so many requests in for something to be fixed. One time, there was no heat on the downstairs part of the house and it was resolved. We're disappointed with some of the stuff though. Some things have been coming through that American Home Shield won't cover. Twice, we had electrical issues that we had to pay a lot more out of pocket. American Home Shield has taken care of minor things. However, for what we pay every month and what we're getting, we're not too happy with them right now, especially with what happened this last time with a weather issue and we needed help. We had water damage, and our water heater burst. We weren’t covered for that. There was all this other stuff in the house too.

    There are things that we thought were covered with American Home Shield, and they're not. What are we paying off this money for? We've had to end up having to do it ourselves or using some vendors from our property management company. It’s gonna be a lot more out of pocket. We're considering just selling the home because we thought we could do this this way, but it's not working out too well.

    Everyone's been a big fail, across the board, specifically with Whirlpool and predominantly with American Home Shield. It's been just a cluster. The problem was, Whirlpool claims that they never submitted their report. I said, "I met the guy. He came to my house, he looked at my induction range and submitted a report." Then Whirlpool claimed they never received it. So that cost me about a month of back and forth. Every other day, 45 minutes to an hour on the phone. It was a disaster. Then I had to escalate it to the executive levels, where I said, “I'm done with these people.” Finally, they started taking me seriously and looking at it. They couldn't believe how it was mismanaged from the start. I got one of their specialists involved and they've been helping me. I've gotten some progress on items.

    I have two open tickets. With the microwave oven deal, the tech came out fast. He looked into it quickly. He immediately followed up with American Home Shield. They did a great job. They were very transparent. They even called me and said, “We looked at everything. It's a little part that’s busted, but we can't find the part. It's too expensive to fix it. So we're just going to try to replace the unit for you.”

    American Home Shield, in this case, stepped up. Because they said, “We can't fix it. We're gonna buy you a new one.” But the amount of money that they offered me to buy a new one was not sufficient to replace the microwave oven. I'm now waiting on them to get back to me on that topic. But so far, this has been the best case I've had.

    We used another home warranty company before Home Shield. The home warranty was a good deal for us because we had an older house and things were breaking down. However, that home warranty company was awful to deal with. I did a lot of research to find what the best company was. American Home Shield came up as the best and we have been very satisfied with what they've offered.

    When submitting claims, I find it very easy if you're online, but it's not easy at all if you call it in. If you call in, they ask for you to repeat all the information (your name or address, phone number, and email), and then your complaint has to fit in their categories. They're entering it into a computer, so it's almost like the worst of both, rather than the best of both. It takes a whole lot longer. Other than that, the recent repair people who came out were great. They had to order a part and they took care of everything quickly as well. It was excellent.

    Sometimes there are excellent providers in the community that don't work with the home insurance companies. It's something not exclusive to Home Shield, but with all the home warranty companies. That's a problem because you have to have everything approved before the people can work on it. From the work people's perspective, they have to call things in and get it approved. It takes extra time, where they don't get paid for that time.

    If I call American Home Shield for a claim, they have to assign a contractor to come here. Sometimes, it's easier for me to just call my own contractor. It's just weird that I have to go to certain people they assign to me, which is something I don't like. The process just seems to work out now because I moved to a new area so I don't know a lot of people.

    I had the heat pump looked at before the winter started because I knew that both my heat pump and my furnace are older systems. I got my own company that used to service this home from the people that I bought it from. I had them come out and they told me there were all these things that needed to be done to my heat pump. I told them that I couldn't use them and that I had to go through my home warranty.

    American Home Shield sent out a person and the guy went up there, checked it, and said everything was perfect. I had two different opinions on my heat pump. I told the person American Home Shield sent out that I had the previous owner's company come out and they said something was wrong. He blew me off and said nothing was wrong with it.

    Right when it was cold outside, the heat pump broke and I didn't have any heat upstairs. The second time it broke, the thermostat was coming out 61 degrees. I called Home Shield and they set up an appointment. Best Tech contacted me almost immediately to set up an appointment to come out. It was the same day. They looked at the motor and said it was shot. The tech took one look at everything and said my motor froze up. I wasn't getting any heat because it wasn't working. I had to wait for the part and they got it. That took a couple of weeks.

    Best Tech was not the first company that American Home Shield sent out for my heat pump. American Home Shield wouldn't let me just pick my own contractor so I had to pay the money and go back through them again. I love Best Tech but I was just a bit annoyed. If I had to request anybody else, Best Tech would be the ones I would request to have.

    All in all, American HomeShield does get a tech assigned to me right away. I just don't like their process. They have to change it. If asked if I would get another home warranty, most likely because it did come in handy for me. Everything just takes a little bit longer when you go through a home warranty than if you have somebody come in and do the work.

    American Home Shield has taken care of everything and I had to pay the fee, which is a little high. I didn't realize when I got the home warranty that I had to pay a fee every time I called. Other than that, the home warranty really works. You just have to sit around and wait. I'm more concerned when it's cold outside. I can't wait and have the house freezing. There was also the claim with the hot water tank and that took a few weeks for them to get it here. Luckily, I had a second one so I was okay.

    If possible, I would want things to be faster and for me to be able to use my own contractor. But in the case of my heat pump, I would use Best Tech again. I would also use the plumber that came out and did the hot water tank again because I liked them. They were great. Once they got the hot water tank, they came right here and installed it for me.

    I had an issue with a spigot in the bathroom and the repair that the tech did worked. He was a nice guy, too. But usually, the service I got from the techs who come out isn't fine and I've had so many stinky experiences. Many times, I've had to prepay because you're not allowed to schedule online without paying first, but when I've had someone come out, they couldn't fix the problem or they try to upsell me. They'd say they'd come back and fix it for me, but since it was not covered, it'd cost me $300.

    And the last plumber that came didn't even really do anything. He took out a little piece and the spigot worked again. But he gave me a card for his own plumbing company if I ever needed it. So, it’s always an ulterior motive with these folks, which is really frustrating. Also, when I set the appointment, I'd like to be able to describe the problem instead of just checking the box. I've had people come out and tell me that my concern was not covered and I would like to know that before I pay my $75.

    When I put in a call, AHS immediately gave me the number of the contractor. They said to go ahead and contact them. And I did. I set an appointment right away, so that was pretty smooth. The company was great as well. I've had a few other different ones that came out that also worked for American Home Shield and this one seemed a little more thorough. Their name is Redwood Coast and their tech took his time to figured out what was wrong with my plumbing. He even ran a camera down for us and checked it out. Then, we figured out quite a bit, so the service was a good and he fixed the problem. So I would recommend Redwood Coast.

    Other than that, submitting claims with AHS has always been simple. I'm set up online and I have a couple different accounts with them like my home and one of my rentals where I had the most recent service. The plumbing there has been a problem spot in the old city of Eureka and their connections need to be replaced. But trying to get the city or the county to do anything takes a long time. So we've had three different plumbers from American Home Shield come out in the last six months. But as for the ease of using their website, I've already learned completely how to control my account on it. I can go back and look at things there, and I can check if I paid for a service. They have it set up well, so we like it.

    All in all, our experience with AHS depends on who we get. When the plumber gets here and he sees the job, and you're trying to figure out if it's within your policy's sphere or make sure that it's not going above or up to a certain amount, the result just depends on who you get over the phone with American Home Shield when the plumber calls before they start the work. You might get someone who says they're going to have to pay for that. But you can also get a different customer service rep who, for the same thing, tells you something different. I've heard it from different plumbers, too. That's kind of how American Home Shield works, which I totally understand.

    But I still enjoy their service and the warranty really comes in handy when something goes wrong. I've used Home Shield quite a bit and had different experiences. Some were great, some involved things where I got to call them back. But other than that, I would still recommend them to friends and family, especially when you change ownership of a place. It's good to put American Home Shield right in the contract and when you do it that way, you even get a discount. That is the first thing I do, then it's easier to keep the subscription yearly.

    Someone calls you from American Home Shield, which is really cool, and they tell you that your membership needs to be renewed by that time. And usually you can ask and they'll give you a discount because you're continuing customers. My apartment costs only $75 per service call and I added Home Shield to my home after I had a good experience with it. Then, my service calls for my house is $100, so it's a little different.

    American Home Shield took quite a while, but eventually, I got a new microwave. We've been without it since December. A couple of weeks there to the end, there was a bad weather. I was supposed to get it one week, and then they called in with the bad weather. They brought it the next week. And then Riley came in last Friday and installed it in. Everything is working good now. Just from December to the 1st of March was quite a long time without it. But other than that, I'm happy now.

    AHS offered the fall cleaning for winter of the heating unit and I availed of that. When the tech came out, he said that it looked like my motor didn't have a whole lot of life left, but he couldn't do anything about it because that wasn't the intent of that service call. He just told me to observe it. Then, it started making a lot of odd noises and I didn't think it was working correctly. It didn't seem like it was kicking on when it needed to, so I put the call in and he came out. He changed the motor and it's been wonderful ever since.

    I submitted the claim on the computer and I found it a lot easier than trying to talk to a human on the phone. When you call AHS, it’s all automated anyway, so you're talking to a computer on the phone. They said that the tech would call me or they would call to set up a time to come out and address the issue. And the tech who came out was someone who had been out here before to do my air conditioner when we had issues, over the course of years that we've had American Home Shield. He had always been very professional. He came in, did the work, and left. But he was easy to talk to and I felt like I have a rapport with him. Initially, American Home Shield wanted me to use somebody in Mishawaka, Indiana and I wasn't comfortable starting up using a new company I didn't know anything about since I had been using All Seasons for years already. So, I waited until he could come out and do the work.

    So far, American Home Shield is the best warranty company and I’ve never dealt really with any other. But my cousin recently purchased a condo and she was given, as part of the deal, a one-year contract with a different home warranty company. When her washer fuzzed out and the drainage motor died, she told me about her issues and I was telling her about American Home Shield. I also went online to back up my argument with her to see who is rated as number one, and American Home Shield is rated as number one all the way around.

    The AC unit itself was freezing up, building up ice on the outside of it. When I put in a claim for it, American Home Shield set me up with Comfort First within 24 hours. And then, they called and set up an appointment. It took three days before they got out here. They came out here, did the evaluation on it, and realized that it was the control for the defrost panel which caused it not to defrost. They ordered the part. It took two weeks for the part to get in. As soon as it came in, Comfort First called to set up an appointment to come, and they came and installed the part. They installed it on Monday.

    The tech was very professional, courteous, and wore his mask. He gave us a rundown of everything that was going on, what he checked. There are two units on the house. He went ahead and checked the other one, just to see if that one displayed some of the same symptoms that the other one was. That one checked out to be fine. So, he only had to repair that one system. He seemed knowledgeable on the unit. The whole process, from the time that I went online and submitted the work order or the request, everything was handled within a timely manner. Even from American Home Shield contacting Comfort First, and them giving me a call, everything happened quick. A seamless process. And everything worked out perfect.

    With my recent claim, the technician that came was good. He was on time, polite, and he had on his mask. Everything was done in a timely manner. It's just that I called for different services at one time. American Home Shield has a plumbing service and it sucks. But then they're a good service to have if you're a homeowner.

    The service company did a good job of troubleshooting the appliance, getting a part ordered, coming in and accomplishing the task at hand. But American Home Shield is a for-profit company, and they're going to pay as little as they can to those people they contract with, and they're going to maximize their profitability by not taking care of certain things, which they've done in my case.

    The mechanical functional problem of the appliance, which got me to make the phone call, was repaired. But there was a broken handle that the guy reported and was trying to order. It's broken not from abuse but from just wear and tear. American Home Shield called and told me that they were not going to cover that handle. Then the rep went on to read about abuse, but this had nothing to do with abuse. The thing broke and it was not functioning. So American Home Shield is going to only take care of what they believe they're required to take care of. They're not going to go above the call of duty. American Home Shield could have handled that a lot differently from a customer service standpoint. The person who called me wasn't pleasant. I'm sure she has been trained to represent the company and why they're not going to do something.

    American Home Shield has a very tough return on investment to buy because products are now created in a way that they are disposable. If you're paying X dollars a month, you'd be better off just buying a new appliance because of planned obsolescence. Other than that, American Home Shield calls me back and they get the things done.

    I filed a claim with AHS and got a contact, which I called up directly. Then, I got a service date for the same day and the tech came out and resolved the issue. It was relatively quick and easy. So I'm pretty satisfied right now. It’s the first time we had to use AHS and I'm hoping it's like that every time. But the tech didn't seem very confident in what he was doing. He was calling either his manager or somebody just to make sure the steps that were being taken were correct. But our issue turned out to be a relatively easy one, so as far as we know, it's been resolved and I haven't had any other issue yet with the AC service.

    Other than that, the first attempt that I made to file a claim, AHS provided me a plumber. They gave me a phone number for a plumbing company and that number was disconnected. So there was no way for me to get in touch with them. I went back on the line and I cancelled the claim so that I wouldn't get charged. Then I went and hired my own plumber. It was kind of an urgent thing that I needed fixed, so I just left it as is and I did not try to reach out to them at the moment. But it was poor taste that they gave me a plumber that didn't have a working number. And when I tried to look him up online to find a working number or a contact, I saw that that plumber didn't have very good reviews. He had a lot of 1 stars, so I didn't even want to pursue my claim anymore.

    There were some good things that we've experienced, but some unfortunate things. The first time we used American Home Shield, we had some plumbing replaced, and that went super smooth. And then, we had another plumbing situation that didn't go as smooth. It was a poor experience. The holdup was the plumbing contractors dragged their feet and I constantly had to call AHS to have them call the contractors. It was a serious problem. My only bathtub was unusable, and I got two kids for four months. Four months later, I had to pay 400 bucks out of my own pocket and I ended up having to do a three-way call between AHS and the contractors for someone to get it together enough to get someone out here.

    But then, the next claim, we had our fridge fixed, and the dude was out here in a week, that was it, and fixed it. So, it depends on the service. And it matters what contractors AHS has because the game that kept getting played was I would call AHS and they would put all the blame on the contractor. That's fine up until a point. But I pay AHS to be the conduit between me and the contractor.

    If AHS hires a contractor that has a history of not getting back to folks, that's on AHS to make sure they look at that feedback customers are giving and look at switching contractors because it was ridiculous. Right now, we're supposed to have a washer fixed and we put that claim in two months ago and no one has called us or has been out here, so I'm gonna have to call about that one. With the good things that happened, it's worth talking to people, and hopefully, AHS makes some changes or we will look at a new home warranty.

    My boyfriend told me about American Home Shield and suggested it. It’s a good deal. If I have a major appliance breakdown, it saves me from having to buy a new appliance or pay for a service fee. When my freezer wasn't freezing and my fridge wasn't cooling, I called American Home Shield over the phone. I also asked them to give me a bit of time to pay the $100. They said they’d hold it, but they charged my card anyway, which was frustrating. I don’t like being lied to. Other than that, it was fine.     I have an issue with my refrigerator and a contractor is due to come out tomorrow. I had a couple of contractors come out for the same issue. It's not really a problem because American Home Shield is just getting different people to come out to diagnose it for them to push the issue with Samsung. Because from what the last technician told me, the refrigerator is still up under warranty. However, the technician coming on Saturday will be the third technician. The first two that came out told me the exact same thing. The last technician told me that most of the time, with the issue I'm having with my refrigerator, they just replace it. Both the technicians that came out were accommodating to my issues and very informative.

    The electrical repair claim I had was completed. The technician fixed the problem as soon as possible. The part came and it took around 45 minutes to fix it and then he left. I've had other claims in the past and they were good. But this is the second time my refrigerator got changed. My food is getting wasted a lot of times. So that's what I'm asking but the American Home Shield reps say that they are not doing anything for it. I also had plumbing work at the same time but it was not fixed for me. In the kitchen, my water was coming very close and the plumber said that he would call me back. But he left and never called me back. He then closed my account. Other than that, my overall experience with AHS has been good.

    Hoosier Plumbing was absolutely phenomenal. I made a claim, Hoosier called me, scheduled immediately, and came out and did the work. However, they had to cut out drywall to get to my leaky repair, so I have a big hole in my ceiling and it's been a week today since they fixed it. I have yet to have anyone assigned to come back and fix my drywall though. Hoosier doesn't do that and they even told me that. Somebody was going to be assigned for it, but I haven't heard from anybody. I called Home Shield on Wednesday and all the automated thing said was they're looking for somebody.

    American Home Shield's service the latest time was fine. Some of the previous times, I called them out and the technician was supposed to take a look at my air conditioner. He came back in the house after he looked at it, and he said that it was an electrical issue. He ended up leaving. He packed his stuff and he left. I called someone else to repair the electrical issues because I was under the assumption that I needed to and that they wouldn't repair my air conditioner. So I called somebody else, they came out and they repaired the air conditioner.

    About a week later, I got a call from American Home Shield saying that they wanted to schedule for the electrician to come out. I had already paid for somebody else to come out. So, the lady I spoke with said, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience. He should have notified you, but we'll put a credit on your account." I never got the credit. So, I said I wasn't gonna use the service again. Then, my mom called and talked to somebody. I had told her to tell them that I wanted to get the credit back to the account and I wanted to have somebody come out and look at the furnace now. So, the guy did come out. He came very quickly, he did his job and left. The furnace has been working fine.

    We had a jetted tub in the master bathroom that we thought the button that turns it on was not working correctly. I submitted the claim then I received an email stating that a company had been assigned. I waited for 24 hours to give them a chance, but then I reached out to them directly. We weren't there when Walston Mechanical initially came out and said that there was no power to the tub, so they couldn't test anything. Come to find out, the breaker in the panel box was off and the technician just didn't think to turn the panel box back on.

    We adjusted it, we turned the panel box on, I called them back, and then the technician went out. He removed the motor in the jetted tub as it was blown up or wasn't functioning. He called AHS to get a replacement or order a replacement, and so that's where we are at, and we are waiting for the part to be ordered. I was 100% impressed with the ability for them to get out there quickly, their professionalism while they were there, and then the follow-up.

    We've been with American Home Shield for three years and it's in our property at Lake Gaston. Now, we purchased a home here in Norfolk a year ago and there was already another home warranty company servicing this house with the purchase. If I had to choose, it would be American Home Shield tenfold. The experience was so much better with them than the provider that we currently have in Norfolk.

    I had an appliance issue and the claim was handled wonderfully. They came out promptly. The parts are on order and I'm waiting for them to come put them in when they arrive. With the refrigerator stuff, the experience has been amazing, but with my air conditioning stuff, it was not so good. I've had five visits from Total Air Care for my heat this winter. I've had three visits from the air conditioning people since I've been here. So, I've had eight visits in less than two years. They keep telling me they need to put in Freon, they need to do this, they need to do that. The system's 14 years old. They'll recommend replacement, but then when I would call American Home Shield, they would say, “No. You need this, that, and the other,” but they haven't said anything about replacement. I'm caught in the middle.

    The plumbing issue I had was fixed with no problem. I don't have a problem with American Home Shield because when I put in a request and pay my $75, somebody is here usually within 48 hours. If it's an emergency, they're here sooner, but it hasn't been that bad. So, I've been impressed with that but the air conditioner was still leaking. It leaked off and on for almost three weeks before they figured out how to stop the leaking through my ceiling. American Home Shield should replace my heating and air conditioning systems without me having to call every three weeks. Other than that, I'm really satisfied with American Home Shield. I'm not satisfied with the contractor they're using that gives them the information that they're making decisions on.

    Our hot water heater died unexpectedly. I called Home Shield and they assigned us a contractor. They immediately came out. When they came out the first time, they were very professional, listened to the diagnosis that we had, and immediately believed it was a problem. They applied what they thought was going to be the immediate fix the problem, which was replacing a thermocouple. The fix that they initially did, knowing that the entire control board had most likely failed in there, should have worked. That was based on their experience. Before they left, they made sure everything was working. It just so happened that within a matter of hours, the fix that they had applied turned out not to be the solution because the hot water heater itself was bad. We called back later that evening and told them that the hot water heater was out again. On the whole, the contractor came out more than twice.

    We worked with Home Shield to make sure that the right thing was fixed. They ended up replacing the entire hot water heater. We would recommend Home Shield. I really appreciate the fact that they didn't try to make us do a whole bunch of other things before they just said, "Okay, this is the defective thing. Let's get it fixed and replaced.”

    We've been having issues with our heating periodically throughout the past year, and we had just tried to cut it on and it wasn't putting out any heat. It wasn't pushing any air. So we called American Home Shield, and they sent out Honesty Mechanical. The day they came out, they figured out what the issue was, got the parts in the same day, but was unable to get out till the next morning. They installed the part and the heat came back on. It was the inducer motor that needed replaced. This is our first experience with AHS. It was very simple. I didn't have any issues submitting anything. We just called them, explained our situation, and they arranged for a technician to come out and assess it, and then they were able to solve it pretty quickly. It was a really good experience.

    Our range's oven had eight different settings. Only two were working - the broiler and the convection oven. I would push the button and it would just print out "ERR". I changed the thermostat and that didn't work. I called AHS and David from Quality Appliance found that the key panel board was shot. He was polite, knowledgeable, and informative. He talked through what he felt was wrong the first time he was here and he was spot on. He explained what he was going to do.     Our garage door opener was not opening. It was difficult to get a service from AHS because there was no provider around the area that could come out. So, they had to seek out a company from two hours away. The tech who came out was good. He came out and addressed the issue right away. He hooked the garage door up and it was opening all by itself. This gentleman knew it was Home Shield's job, so he really wanted to take that pride and get it done right. Knowing that AHS has contractors like that is reassuring. I also had a pretty easy experience with them, plus they went above and beyond in trying to get the repair done as soon as possible.

    We had Realty Rekey come out for a cylinder lock. They rekeyed all the doors and it was good. However, I have two claims in right now. One for plumbing leaks and another for a furnace. One repair company came yesterday and broke something that I had ordered that I had to return. They haven't gotten back to me yet. They didn't even fix the unit. Today, the plumbing guy came out. He said he was going to call his boss, and just left. He didn't tell me anything.

    I had American Home Shield before from a previous home that I purchased. When we bought a brand new house, it came with it. One time, I called the 800 number when the compressor on my indoor fridge went out. It was easy. The only thing that I didn't like was they gave me a timeframe of the serviceman being there from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening. I wasn't too happy of a nine-hour window. I spent the whole day waiting, not knowing exactly what time or when this guy is gonna come.

    The guy came in at 5:00 in the evening. I sat for nine hours and when the guy came out, he told me the compressor went out and he had to order. I had to wait for another day for him to come and start from 8:00 to 5:00, but this time, he came at 8:00 in the morning, which was good. The guy was very professional. He was in compliance with the COVID criteria of mask inside the owner's property. He also diagnosed the problem correctly and the freezer is working.

    American Home Shield is the best. I have enjoyed dealing with it. The customer service has been good. Even with the contractors that they have come out to my homes, I haven't had any type of complaints. I've always traveled with the military and my best friend was a soldier. She had two houses that she had rented out while we were PCSing. One of the Realtors had told her that having American Home Shield is an easy way of keeping up the maintenance. When we got back and I got my home here, she was like, “Look, you need to call them because stuff is gonna go wrong. You see how things happened at the other house.” When I was able to get everything started, it came in handy. I was like, “Yeah, I'll never go nowhere without it.”

    For a while there, because I had no fixed job, I had stopped using it. It just didn’t seem right. Something had happened, and I was like, “Oh my god, I can’t call them to come out. I have to call a regular person. I got to go and get this company back. I don’t like this.” AHS is so convenient. I have recommended them to a lot of people. It’s a really good company to have, especially if you own your home because things are gonna go wrong, and it’s not always convenient.

    Recently, we had that little cold front that came through. I hadn't used my heater in my house until the heat really dropped down and got really cold. I didn't have to use it for the last season when it got really cold, but this year, I went ahead and did it because it got down in the 20s. I was like, “No, you know what? I need to have them to come out and look at this and make sure everything is okay with it before we just crank it up, since I hadn’t used it in a while.” When I did turn it on, it started making these noises.

    I called and put a work order in. Someone came right out. The two contractors that I talked with, while they were good people, I didn't think they had done a good thorough check for it to have been not used in a while. The boss of that particular company came out. I was surprised. What happened was the motor had burnt out. I was like, “Why they didn't catch that when they came out yesterday?” He went ahead and got the part, came back and fixed it. It’s been heating up the house ever since.

    I put clothes in the dryer to dry and then, I started smelling something and smoke came out. I turned the dryer off. The contractor did a great job and since then, my equipment is working. We're a family of seven so the dryer being fixed helped me a lot to do my laundry while I'm doing my other house chores in my house instead of me going to the Laundromat, so it was very convenient for me. American Home Shield is efficient and very professional. I’ve had them for a year and a half now. Getting a warranty is the best thing to do.     It was a rough start with American Home Shield.. We had maybe three service calls and everybody they sent out just looked at things and said they couldn't do anything. The guy for the toilet claim didn't do anything. We had an electrician to come out and he just stood up there, looked at the box and said, "That's an old box. There's nothing I can do." My lights were blinking and come to find out the wire had burnt at the top of the box. He didn't even look at it. My house could have burned down so I called someone on my own and got the work done even though I keep paying American Home Shield.

    The last time I called, it was for the main drain. I did express my concerns about the people that are being sent out. I asked the rep, "Could you please get somebody who's gonna do a job and not just take my money?" I did express to the gentleman that I talked to that I would cancel my American Home Shield if they don't get somebody out there that is gonna do the job. They got the people to come out and the guy was good. He addressed our concerns and helped. He did what we needed done.

    The work Big Kountry did for me was great. The tech was able to check the spinner, but he wasn't able to look at the washing machine and do a practice run because I had no water. I needed it fixed so when I had water, then I could use it. Sometimes, what it does is it'll still stay on wash, but yet, it's not doing anything so I have to hit the button again and then it starts all over. By then, the soap is already gone, but it hasn't spun. It's only happened on one load, so I'm going to use it for a few more loads and see if that's still an issue. If it is, then I'll give Big Kountry a call.

    However, it took too long to get them out here. But it's not their issue, it’s American Home Shield. I am dissatisfied. Then, the freeze messed that up. So then, when they were rescheduling, it wasn't Johnny-on-the-spot. I had to pitch a fit and called American Home Shield then asked for sales in order to get a live person. Then, they were able to move it up a couple of days. What's so annoying is the warranty I had before was cheaper as well as its copay, but yet, I got better service. I just left them because they always had nobody in our area and they'd tell us to go find someone.

    I thought this would be a better experience. I expect way more, out of paying more, on both ends. I want to look elsewhere because I have a hard time with American Home Shield. I don't appreciate having to pay for my service before I even know what times can be available. I want to know when they are coming before I have to pay for it. So, I'm supposed to pay for it and just wait for a call from someone.

    I heard some good things about American Home Shield and so I switched to them. With my recent claim, I'm still having issues with my appliance that they repaired. The technician that they sent was very bad. He said that I purposely damaged my appliance, which makes absolutely no sense why anybody would do that on purpose.     I was having problems with my heat pump system so we had a tech come out to service it. He diagnosed it as a bad controller board and had to order a part. The tech came back a week later when the part came in, to install it. At the same time, it was found out that my old thermostat was not functioning correctly either and was part of the problem, so it had to be replaced as well. But it's working fine now. We're very happy and satisfied with AHS. I've had them for many years and they provide a very good service and response. It's a very worthwhile service and it has saved me a lot of money.

    The refrigerator stopped cooling and the contractor came in with a controller card and they replaced the controller card. It was working but then things were freezing in the refrigerator. They came back and they fixed that and everything has been fine. One problem I had with AHS was when I had a water leak and they sent somebody out for a water leak but it turned out to be my pool pump so I had to pay a deductible twice. That was the worst part. Other than that, AHS has been pretty good about getting things done.

    I'm glad that I have AHS. They are prompt at getting somebody here and the people that they've had are good. I called for my washer, my dryer and my refrigerator. The contractor came out and there were some parts that needed to be replaced on the washer. They got the parts within two weeks and they came back. The dryer was just a little thing but I got the same guy for the washer and the dryer and he was good.     The furnace gas burner started to act up. AHS scheduled a company to come out called Fast Response. When the tech came out, falsely, he didn't find other things that were wrong. The furnace was leaking and it had yellow stuff on it. It messed up the control panel and it took 15 days for them to even come back with this little part, which they never did. I called back American Home Shield and they referred a second company, Comfort Air. They took care of it. Then, recently, the motor blower went out. They came back out, checked it and they had to wait for a part. They put it on this past Monday. So, everything was good.

    We bought a house and the dryer was making an awful rumbling noise. It seemed like it was falling through the floor. The tech knew exactly what to do. The issue was that the person who was renting the house before we bought it was using a lot of fabric softener which allowed the lint to get sucked to the fan. The lint would stick to the fan instead of getting exhausted out. There was half a pail of lint in there. The tech did a lovely job and was such a nice and polite man. The dryer is quiet as a mouse now.

    There was one thing with AHS that was a bother to me. When I was trying to make appointments on the phone, the recorded message was very hard. The recording gives me numbers and reference numbers very fast. We're old people and we can't write that fast. I had to keep listening to it over and over again to get the right number. Also, the recorded kept asking me to put in my phone number. Every time my number was put in, the recording would say, "That number is not recognizable". After I went through this three times, I put my cell phone number which I never really use and the recording accepted that. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has had a problem. These are two things that would really improve my experience with AHS.

    Other than that, everything is very good. My home warranty gives me comfort knowing that if anything big goes out, the service fee is all it's going to really cost. American Home Shield is a marvelous company. When we move, if we can't transfer it, we'll take it with us then buy the new homeowners AHS so they're covered for a year. It's worth the 600 just to give somebody else peace of mind.

    My tenant had a leak. It doesn't happen immediately. It happens after the water is on for a period of time. When she set up the appointment, the tech came out, she had cut the water on and the leak was not apparent. So, he could not address what he could not see, ergo nothing could be done. She explained the situation to him. He said, "Well, when it happens, give us a call back." She left the water on and the leak returned. She set up another appointment, and they came out, they've seen what the problem was and they corrected it. She was quite happy with the results, and with how well they cooperated with her and the understanding they had. She had called me when he was saying like, "We can't just sit around and wait for a leak to develop." But they did come back out once it became apparent, and they resolved the issue.

    We have a couple of houses attached to American Home Shield. And from time to time, they get them confused. That is most inconvenient because we pay the deductible up front, and then, they don't transfer the deductible to the house that we were making the call for. We have to pay another deductible before they address the issue.

    I had a different home warranty coverage and they were horrible at trying to help me out. Everything was either not covered or something was covered and I still had to pay a lot of money for parts. I saw AHS online and I figured I’d try them out. Recently, I put a claim in for an under-the-sink instant hot water heater that was not working anymore. I was a little disappointed at first because I was scheduled twice for somebody to come out and for those two times, they did not arrive at my house when they said. I called the company and spoke to them asking them why they had not arrived or what was going on. The technician called in sick the first time. The next time, they were running behind and didn’t show at all.

    Finally, they showed up yesterday. They came in, checked the hot water heater out and said it was no good. They have to see about getting a part so it has not been resolved yet. Also, for the copayments, I was paying $75 per time that I had to have a tech come out on the last place. Now, I’m paying $100 with AHS every time.

    American Home Shield is definitely worth having since I've only had to use it twice, but they were for dire needs. One time, my AC went out in the middle of summer and I was able to get that fixed within the next business day. I would tell friends and family, if they are homeowners, to definitely get it because it does work out in the end. It's very easy to submit service requests. I usually go online and follow the steps.     It was very difficult getting ahold of a person with American Home Shield. I would love to see them use a call center in the United States 'cause the persons I spoke with spoke English but did not understand the context of English. They didn't understand that it was a Sunday and I had eight inches of water in part of my basement and the problem could not wait until Tuesday. I finally got ahold of someone and their English was much better. They knew what the basement was so they changed my claim from routine to expedited and got it resolved on a Monday. The tech was at my house waiting for me before I got back from where I was. I've had lots of experiences with American Home Shield and this was the most frustrating. Other than this, they've put in an air conditioner and a water heater for me. They have also fixed part of my garage door. I've been very happy with them.

    With my recent washing machine claim, the guy that came out was excellent. He knew what was going on and he fixed what he needed to fix and I'm happy with it. There was one time I had an issue, and it was a communication problem. The guy that was sent cannot communicate well in English so he was having hard time understanding me and I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with his job performance because I had to borrow him tools from my own toolbox. He didn't come well prepared and he acted like he has no clue. I think he’s new on the job and from my understanding, he was calling somebody to relay the problem and that guy was giving me instructional guidelines.

    This was a scary moment. I'm glad I was paying attention to him because it has to do with gas, and I don’t want to burn me up in this house, so I told him to leave. I called the company to tell them what the situation was and to send somebody to expedite it that knows what he’s going to come and look at. Bad experience and I'm glad they sent me somebody there. Ever since then, when I call, I always specify that I want English speaking person because of communication issues.

    My most recent claim with AHS was my dishwasher and the experience was good. I had an issue with the vendor. First, they ordered the wrong parts, so I had to wait another week. Then, the part came in, but he didn't have the right fitting for the parts. He was going to use the fitting for the old part, but he couldn't get it off. I said, "Go to Home Depot and get it." He was trying to tell me to go to Home Depot and he said, "When you get it, just put it on here." I said, "No, you do it. That way, if the kitchen floods, I can blame you." He said, "Okay, I'll have to order the part and then I'll have to come back." The following week, he had a family emergency. But, the following week after that, he came out and he fixed it in a timely manner and it's working perfectly now. I'm happy with the end result and I'm really not mad at the vendor that much. I get it, stuff happens.

    I was perfectly happy with him overall. He was clean and professional. He was in a uniform. He had all the tools he needed. He also would try to scrape as much stuff off of his boots as possible before he came in, and then he put those booty cover things over his shoes so that he wasn't trekking snow and salt and dirt in the house. I really appreciated that. He had me turn the power off, which I know was for his own safety, but I appreciated that too because I didn't want him getting electrocuted in my house.

    Navigating through the homepage of AHS was super easy. Once you get logged in, there's a huge button right on the main page. You can't miss it. It's right there so that there's not any confusion, which is really good because you're already frustrated because something broke at your house. I'm tech-savvy, but if someone older tried to go on there, they would not have a hard time filing a claim. Soon as you click it, it gives you the full list of stuff that might be broken and you just click on it.

    AHS is a lifesaver. They have already saved me thousands of dollars. At the same time the dishwasher was going on, I noticed I had a wet spot on my ceiling in one of the upstairs bedrooms. So the guy came out to work on my roof and American Home Shield covered that. I don't know how much it cost, but I'm sure it would have been a lot of money. It was the flashing around the chimney that needed to be resealed.

    I had a major gas leak in my basement on Christmas Day 2019. I don't leave it in the house for a couple of months at that point. I smelled it in one spot, but when they went around to check, they found three separate leaks. AHS covered all of that. They had to redo some plumbing to get the gas right. Since they were working on it, they had to bring it up to code, so they had to redo the valves as well. There was even some extra work involved and they covered all of it. They replaced my stove. They also replaced my central air unit. AHS is great. When you're a first-time homeowner, it's already scary when something breaks. You don't feel that initial heart drop when you realize something expensive just broke because you're like, "It's cool. American Home Shield will take care of it."

    When I call American Home Shield and make a claim, they send somebody to take care of business. The contractors are good. I only had one problem where I had to have an electrician out here three times. My breaker would switch off every now and then. About a month ago, it would click off two or three times in one day. We had had that same problem earlier and the same man came out the first and second time. For the third time, I told American Home Shield I didn't want that same company and to send somebody else so they used another company. The man that came was the one that found the problem and fixed it.

    I had a heart attack and when I got home from the hospital, I had no hot water. I called AHS and they called the tech who had come to my house about a year ago and fixed my broken garbage disposal. His name was Rene and he was superb. When he called me on the phone, I asked him if he could you help me because I was still really sick. He said he would come in between his calls, and he did. He was nice and he made me want to cry. He was so thorough and he fixed it for me. He took that weight off my shoulders and I'm so grateful to him. Every little thing right now is major to me and his kindness was unreal.     Please Do NOT signed with this company, they have a very bad claim department and they are working with very bad vendors. AHS will charge you $75 every time you make a claim, will send you a company (in my case an appliance company - AG Appliances) and they will not fix your appliances, you have to wait like 2 weeks for the parts and then they still not fix the problem. If you ask for a second opinion you have to pay another $75. They don't offer you cash outs for your appliances if are discontinue. Very bad company, please don't waste your money on their policies. They will give you the wrong impression that they want to help you, just to pass you to a different person, very unprofessional and very bad customer service.

    Back around August 2020, our dishwasher was leaking. So we reached out to American Home Shield (AHS). I paid for the 1st service request in August 2020, and AHS sent out their 1st technician. The 1st diagnosis was that the motor was broken. After couple weeks, they got the new part and replaced the broken motor. The dishwasher was working. But after another week or so, we noticed that the dishwasher was leaking again. So we requested for a follow up service visit.

    This time, when the service technician came, we turned on the dishwasher and informed him that it takes some time before it starts leaking. The technician was very impatient and was not willing to wait and just ended up with a report saying that the dishwasher is working and that no leakage was found. He claims that we could be filling up the dishwasher with too many dishes that could cause leakages. We didn't contest the reasoning, but it didn't sound right to us.

    We just accepted the fact and hopes that it was just our overloading of the dishwasher that caused the leak. We minimized the load but the dishwasher was leaking again. So in January 2021, we paid for another $125 for another service request to have it fixed. This time AHS sent out a different contractor and their diagnosis was worn/failing seals. So after another week, the technician came and replaced the seals. The dishwasher worked once, but started to leak again. So they sent out the same technician end of January for another diagnosis. This technician says there's nothing more they can do, so I had to talk to AHS. AHS said they needed a 2nd opinion, so in February they sent a new technician from another company.

    The new technician that arrived said the same thing as the 1st technicians. The motor and seals have been replaced and that no further action could be taken to repair this unit. I called AHS, but what they explain to me drastically differs from what the technician told me. They say that the technician report states the dishwasher is leaking due unevenness and that they do not have adequate spacing to make the adjustments. And they request that I need to make room for them to do the adjustments.

    My cabinets expanded due to the 1st leak back in August, which reduced the spacing for the dishwasher. I went ahead and hired a handyman to help me make more space and pulled the dishwasher out so that the AHS contractor had enough room to service the dishwasher and not be confined by space. We called the contractor to notify that they have enough space to work on the dishwasher now. But the contractor said that on the report, it now says that there was no leakage. Both the technician and myself have video proofs of it leaking, I'm baffled with this diagnosis and told them that this is not what your technician told me and that we both took our own photos and video of the leakage. They were then willing to send out the technician again for further diagnosis.

    The same technician came over and even he said he doesn't know why he's being sent out again and that my dishwasher was clearly leaking. He made sure that on the report he listed that is was leaking too. He also claimed that there is nothing else he could do to repair this dishwasher and that it should be replaced. He also tried leveling it and it continued to leak.

    Today (March 4th 2021), AHS sent me an email to ask me to talk to them about this claim. The agent tells me that they will not honor this replacement cuz there is damage to the bracket of the dishwasher. When my handyman took out the dishwasher, we already noticed the bracket damage and the damage was caused when the 1st technician replaced the motor. AHS still denies it and said no further action will be taken.

    I have spent enough time and effort trying to work with AHS to get my dishwasher fixed or replaced under their warranty and it's obvious enough and with evidence, that they are trying all they can to refuse replacement. If has been extremely frustrating to spend all this time and effort to talk to both AHS and their contractor and how their service report could differ from the time of service really baffles me.

    My heating system went out and for the most part, it was a bad experience because that was the second time I had to submit a claim for the same problem. The first one was in December and the second one was in February. I had to pay a deductible both times. There's only a 30-day policy for repairs.     The contractor did a good job. They found a defect in my heating system and it’s something that I’m gonna have to get repaired in the future. Submitting a claim to American Home Shield is easy but it usually takes a while to get a response to get somebody scheduled. Also, there are a lot of things they don’t cover and if they have to do anything invasive with your air conditioning such as getting to the Freon, you have to buy the Freon and it’s expensive. But AHS is a good deal.

    I was with Fidelity for 10 years, and the last couple of years, there were delays and any situation that came up with pretty much they avoided to pay. A few cases, they were okay, but overall, I was dissatisfied. I eventually got to a point that I was fed up. So, I switch all my six properties to American Home Shield. I have them for almost six months now, and with the service calls I had, I'm overall much more happier. It seems to be better.

    The claims submission process is pretty good. One improvement they need to do is on the section where one can change the phone number. After calling a couple of times, I found out that when you open a service call, there is a place where you can change the phone number. For example, I wanted to put my tenant's name and number for each property, but that is not on their website. I think that's good to have. But as far as opening a service call and the feedback as far as the collaboration using text message or email, that's pretty good.

    My water heater had been leaking and I needed somebody to come out to see if it needed to be fixed or replaced, which was why I reached out to American Home Shield. I was a little upset that I had to take out more money than I thought I should have given that I had American Home Shield insurance. So, I had to call the customer service and have them break down to me why I had to pay 300 and something dollars out of pocket, when I thought that I was covered by the replacement of the water heater. But AHS is doing a good job. They are very prompt in referring me out to a contractor if I need services. Any time I had issues, they sent somebody out and the contractor got the job done. So it's not like they sent somebody out and they didn't get the job done, and we had to keep going back and forth. So, the work that has been done for my home has been satisfying.

    We've been with American Home Shield for quite a while then we stopped because we helped a friend. We gave her a chance and we moved to another company, but she left the company after that. Now, we're back with Home Shield again. Recently, there was a problem with the thermostat control. We went online (that was easy), and they responded very quickly. The contractor replaced the thermostat control. That company's 100% excellent. We have liked Home Shield for a long time too. We're happy with the coverage, although they are more expensive than others. The cost goes with the service, but when you are dealing with retirees with their fixed income, then cost is quite touchy.

    We have two different heating units, one upstairs and the other downstairs. A couple of years back, the upstairs one went out. So it was the same issue. So when A-US Air came out, they already knew that it was the same thing and they had the history from the other one. They were able to troubleshoot it a lot quicker, which was nice, because American Home Shield uses them repeatedly. The guy was super respectful and did what he needed to do and got it done. He was very professional. Every time A-US Air came out, they were just super great guys.

    When my breaker was popping, I had a repair guy come here, and he found that one of the light switches had two wires touching inside of it. I asked him how that happens when we don't open them up. He said it must be after pushing them so many times. He moved the wires away from each other, turned the power back on, and it worked.
