I had an upstairs leak and Advanced Home Services was the original ones that came out. They were out within an hour and their list of services was extensive. They had all the other services I needed out that night. The process was lengthy only because of the type of leak and the damage that was done, but I called with this other plumbing issue, and I said, "Advanced Home is the only one that is able to come out." They were quick, efficient, and handled everything. It was no talking back, no upsell, no nothing. They just went to it and got the work done. They are the only ones I'm allowing back in my house. Hopefully, I don't have any more plumbing issues, but if I do, I know who I'm going to be requesting.
American Home Shield's service has been wonderful. They had everything that we needed as homeowners to get going. It's just one call and then whoever they send out is able to come out and get the job done. It was quick, easy, seamless, and painless. Also, people can do service requests online, but I don't. I just call them, talk to a person and have them do it for me. It's easier.

American Home Shield makes it easy to have a one-stop shop as opposed to tracking down a plumber or an electrician for different issues. It's easy just to have one place to go to. For a recent claim, Nussbaumer Plumbing was very nice to do a great job. Also, they were out of here in 10 minutes or so.

The refrigerator and freezer were not cooling. It was multiple issues. I contacted American Home Shield. I called the number and informed them what was happening. And they took it from there. They sent an email right away. The contractor was very knowledgeable, seemed to have known what he was doing, and very polite and professional. He did his evaluation and told us exactly the steps he was taking. He had to come more than once to get it resolved. AHS is on top of things. They make sure that I am informed and they get the job done.

American Home Shield's warranty has additions. Make sure you know what's covered. The well pump is not included in the regular warranty. It's not going to cover your pool too. If you want those things included you have to pay a little extra. Other than that AHS does a good job with its process. Recently, my outlets weren't working and the techs replaced them.

Last year, I've been having a problem with my AC and it was terrible. American Home Shield sent the same people back out, and I didn't like that. We should be able to pick our own people to come out, and then get with the home warranty company about the situation here and we only just pay our $75 co-pay. Also, when I put out money last year on my AC, I shouldn't have to be putting money out on it this year. I've been with American Home Shield a long time. I'm still satisfied with the service. This year, the people have gotten better. When they came out this time, they did great.

Our garbage disposal was leaking and Plumb Genius replaced it. The service was fantastic. It helped a lot. I use my garbage disposal often so repairing that gave me the opportunity to use my garbage disposal. I got the leaking out early so it didn't mess up too much my undercabinet. American Home Shield is very good and I've never had any issues every time I call. It always works and they send out good people. $100 is not that bad to pay to get somebody out because he’s gonna fix what needs to get fixed. So, I've used AHS several times and everything has always been great.

American Home Shield takes away some of the worry when major appliances break. I don't have to worry about coming out of pocket as much. I recently had two claims, one was for the air conditioner and one was for the microwave. It was good service. The technicians were both friendly. They explained everything and were meticulous. I was a little bummed that the whole AC unit wasn't replaced. The house was built in '96 so that unit is old and not energy efficient. When it went out, the guy put a new motor on it. Whether that is considered energy efficient or not, I don't know, but it's working great. He said that it could last a week, two weeks, or years. I asked why they wouldn't replace the whole thing and he said that that's not how American Home Shield works. They do a small repair instead of a replacement.
We had a discussion and I couldn't believe that it wasn't actually replaced because I'm sure it's running hard since it is much older. I have a two-story, so to blow the air upstairs, who knows how hard it's actually working. If something is 20 years-plus, it's obvious that it's ready to go out and it could work a little harder to do what it's supposed to. It happened to go out when we had the hottest week and it was repaired when we had the cool weather. It was not good timing. But the guy was super nice and professional, and he answered questions. When he said he would be there between here and here, he would text me and he made it during those times. So, that company is a nice one.
Anything has been fixed and repaired through American Home Shield's service whatever and whenever it happened. I've only had minor things repaired and the most expensive was a hot water tank. It probably came with the house and those don't last that long. Then, when the other guy came in to look at the dishwasher, he said it was done. The guys from the company that delivered the first dishwasher called and said that they were headed my way. I thought I would beat them but they were already there and had it unpacked. When they brought it in, I opened the door to look at it and I pulled the top tray out and it was crooked. It fell off the rollers. The guy told me that that would okay once it's installed. I was not thinking that something was actually broken and the installer would know. He was looking at it. It had been dropped.
In a built-in dishwasher, the bottom has a metal frame around it and the guy showed me where it was bent. He opened the inside and the plastic pieces were broken off. So, luckily, the installer was very honest, and told me that he couldn’t fix it and that it wasn't his place to fix the brand-new dishwasher. So, that company was a good choice. The two guys were totally honest and the service overall was fine. I just wished that the guy would have replaced the whole air conditioning because who knows how long it will actually last with it being quite old. But the motor he put on is a tiny bit quieter and the house is staying cool, and it blows out just fine.

American Home Shield's customer service is fine. Some things are hit or miss. The electricians, that's an iffy subject because you never know what is going to be wrong until they get out there and they say something is not covered. I hate to pay 75 bucks just to find out, "Nope, that's wear and tear." We tried to get some of the pool things done and the people were saying that was not warrantied as it was wear and tear. I wish there was some clarity of what actually might be covered or considered, especially for warranty items and when it comes to electric stuff and the outside pool. That aside, we had a claim for our air conditioner and a tech with Delta came out. The air conditioner wasn't kicking on. There was a short in some wiring and the tech replaced it. That took him 15 minutes and the unit was working.

The Whirlpool refrigerator was not cooling down. On May the 28th, the technician diagnosed it via video call. He told me to turn it to the coolest setting. He also asked if the compressor kicked in and those general questions and some of those things were not happening. The refrigerator's almost 14 years old so he suggested that he was going to go ahead and call in to American Home Shield and let them know what the issue was. In his opinion, because it's a closed compression unit, it can't be refilled with any kind of Freon so the fridge has to be replaced. He told me that American Home Shield would get in touch with me within 24 to 48 hours of him submitting the request.
When I called American Home Shield after 72 hours, they told me that he had not yet submitted the repair request or the replacement request. I tried texting him back asking him if he did that already, but I never heard back from him. American Home Shield also told me that they were going to send him an email or text or call him to have him submit that replacement request because there's nothing they could do on their end without his input. I called again three different times and talked to three different agents. They said they were following up and still haven't got ahold of anybody yet. They said they'll have a supervisor call me with the final resolution to it. We're running on two weeks from tomorrow and this issue has still not been addressed and I need to get this replaced.
It left a bad sour taste in my mouth with the way everything went down because the repair guy took a minute before he responded back to me and was not responding accordingly. Then I asked American Home Shield if they could get somebody else to take a look at this thing and let me know which way to go with it because I needed another fridge. I've been promised callbacks and no one has responded to my requests up until now.
At this point, I'd just purchase a fridge then cancel the service because it seems like there is no reason to have it if this is how business is done. Granted, I already paid $125 plus the 44 that they want every month, and apparently, he's diagnosed what the issue is. I've also had another claim about the water heater not too long ago. I called it in, the company came out, and we had to go back and forth with that also before they finally agreed to get the unit replaced. It's been crazy with the experience.

The service with American Home Shield has been very good when I've needed them. One of our air conditioning units for the zone was not working and it was a repetition of a previous claim that we had a technician come out to fix. But it wasn't fixed properly so we had to get the technician assigned to fix it. The process was very good.
I had just come home from the hospital from surgery and walked into the house that was very hot. I called American Home Shield and explained that, and they got the original company to reschedule somebody to come out and fix it quickly, especially because it was over the Memorial Day weekend. We got a very good response. It wasn't the same technician but the ones that came out did a very good job finding what the problem was and fixing it. AHS takes me out of the loop of having to find the specific type of technician that's needed, which is why I have this service contract. They found one very quickly and whereas I would be trying to find out through friends, if they've ever had that kind of problem and who they used and how did they feel.

I still kick out a lot of money having a home warranty but it helps with some of the major costs. I used it when my water heater started leaking. Technicians came and they were very professional. The only thing is when you're paying a monthly premium for the home warranty, you should get better coverage and pay less out of pocket because you're already paying it per month.

There was no power to my dishwasher, so I went online to AHS and put in the claim for it. The gentleman that came out the very next day was polite and he was in and out really quickly. He let me know that the problem was a fuse that went out to the circuit board, which was causing my dishwasher to not have any power. He didn't say too much, just fixed it. He replaced the fuse. We use our dishwasher every day, so it really helped. I did not wanna wash dishes by hand. I've told people American Home Shield is great to have, especially with appliances. You just never know. And the fact that if they come out, they fix it or they replace it, it’s definitely a money saver. I've recommended to quite a few people to get it.

The service with American Home Shield is good but I pay them $49 a month and then, I pay for contractors to come out. On top of that, I gotta pay money for them to fix it. So, I was thinking about canceling, after the last service call. The technician was good but I didn’t know that you have to pay for Freon. It was expensive. I thought that would be under the Home Shield plan. I didn't know that that was not covered so, I'm gonna have to look into more on my plan to see what's covered and not. But that's my fault. When I bought the house, they gave me the American Home Shield. It was gonna be up for after a year. So, I kept it and I never went over it. No one ever went over anything with me.

The tech was real cocky. He told me that he does a super duper great job and he takes his time. He replaced the motor and a transmission then left. On the first load we did, the machine didn't sound right. It sounded like there was metal scraping against metal. After a couple more loads, the machine was dancing all over the floor and it destroyed a part inside of it. We had plastic pieces coming out of the drain hose. He said that we needed a new spin basket. He was going to order it and it would take three to five days. We were waiting for that part when we got notified that it was their recommendation to the home warranty people that the machine has to be replaced. So now we're waiting for a decision on that.
We just came back from the laundromat and it's the first time we've been to a laundromat in 22 years. Once this problem gets resolved, we're thinking about dropping American Home Shield. With the amount of downtime that we have, it might be cheaper just for us to get the original equipment manufacturer to come in and work on our stuff. We're not thrilled with American Home Shield's service. The people they hire to do the work never get it right the first time. They are not quality people. We've never used American Home Shield where someone came out and got it right the first time. We had an air conditioner problem that lasted all summer. The contractor didn't fix it until August. They were back eight times. American Home Shield needs to hire better qualified contractors to do the repair.

I recommend American Home Shield to everyone. They're right on the ball every time I've called them for anything and they take care of the problem immediately. I like that. With the way things are going on in the world right now, especially where I live, which is a rural area, it takes forever to get anybody to do anything. With AHS, the contractor is out the next day, revealing the problem and within less than a week, the problem's taken care of. So, I'm very happy with it. The tech from Godstone Garage Door was perfect. He was a no fuss, no muss, nice guy. Everything was in tip-top shape when he left. I recommend him to anyone that needs work done.
I had one problem a while back and I wasn't happy with the fellow who came out originally. He managed to take the garage door but the mechanism down and put it in the yard. Then he came back with the wrong size, which was his fault. He wanted to charge me another 100 and some dollars to move the electrical and do a couple things. I called the company and I had to talk to one of the operators. I said I was getting nowhere and I needed to talk to somebody with a little more power. So, the fellow called me and we got it taken care of. What they said was they weren't going to fix it and the claim was denied even though I paid my deductible and the guy came out.
A new guy came out and it was perfect. I would not recommend the fellow before that. AHS takes care of everything. I'm up for renewal next month so I need to find out how that's gonna go. I am a widower and I have a 3,500 square foot house that I try to maintain on my own. Whenever I have help that American Home Shield offers, they go beyond what I expect, so I'm very happy with them.

The person who came was in and out fairly quickly, but he was very professional and very nice. There was also an issue with the refrigerator in the kitchen, so we have some people coming out today to look at it. Getting on the schedule was fairly easy as well. I didn't like the fact that AHS denied my claim where they said it was normal wear and tear because some parts were missing on the back of the refrigerator. I expressed to them that's not my job to be going back there and messing with that stuff. I was out for almost a month without a refrigerator going back and forth with them for them to tell me there was nothing they could do for me. But with my recent claim, it was good. The techs were fine like with the time. As soon as I made the claim, they were there within an hour. But they couldn't fix it because they didn't have the part on hand and it was during the holidays. But it's fixed now.

I had to call to put in the request with S & R, which was a two-call process. When I initially put the claim in online, American Home Shield didn't allow me to choose the contractor that I wanted. I spoke with the young lady that said S & R was not affiliated with American Home Shield. S & R was the contractor that I had previously servicing my unit before the issue and they were the ones that encouraged me to get American Home Shield. So I was trying to figure out where was the disconnect coming. When I called back American Home Shield, the rep said I had to use the contractor in my zip code. But I told her that I should be able to make a preference on who I want to use if I'm the one paying for the service.
I live on the border line between DC and Maryland, so S & R coming down the street is less than a 15-minute drive. The rep said she would look them up and then she said that S & R's calendar was on hold. But she didn't know that I was grabbing my work phone. I called S & R's number and I was able to talk to them. I told them that I was circling back with S & R because I was trying to submit a request for them to come back to American Home Shield. I also told them that American Home Shield said they were on hold. But they told me that they were not on hold. So I told that to the American Home Shield rep. S & R said that I could put them on a three-way call and they can assist me with whatever the rep needed. When the rep heard that, she said that S & R was not on hold.
Once S & R arrived on the scene, they were able to troubleshoot everything effectively both inside and outside of the home because my air conditioning unit is outside. But overall, the experience was phenomenal. I just had to wait and it was hot. They said they would come between 8:00 and 10:00, and they arrived about quarter till 9:00, so they were pretty early. There were two technicians that arrived on the scene to troubleshoot the unit. Both of them were excellent. They were very professional. When one of the techs arrived on the scene, he let me know that it could even be my control board or tension wire, but they needed to do a little bit more deeper dive.
They worked very diligently to figure out what the issue was and they stayed for about an additional 10 minutes to see if the thermostat was starting to go down, what they were able to get it on. Once they did, they had a follow-up call with me to see how things were going. So overall, my experience was definitely stellar because of the interest and they've shown that the home was that comfortable.

The water in the dishwasher was not going out. The first company that came in was Sears, and they wouldn’t find the issue because there is no model number on the dishwasher. This is a home which we purchased three weeks back, so we didn't know where the model number was, and they won't touch it. Next, Airboss came, and the guy was super good. The issue is not even in the dishwasher. They flip some sensor under the sink. So he tripped it and water drained out.
I call the 800 number to file my claims to American Home Shield. Everything is automated, so I was able to punch in my number and get the booking done. It's simple. Every time I call American Home Shield, I had to pay $75 whereas others are saying it's only 45. My neighbor just across the street came to my house and he said, “Oh, I'm using this company and they charge me only 43 bucks.” So, I wasn't sure why 75 has to be paid. I spoke to five people and everyone said they pay only 45. If the amount with AHS is reduced, then I will recommend them.

As soon as I call American Home Shield, it's easy to get through and then they usually get somebody right away to fix any problem. We've used them for our dryer. We've also used them for water leakage from our kitchen faucet. We're in the process of using them for a replacement of a toilet and then having the technician set it up. The contractor told me exactly what needs to take place. It's just a matter of us going to buy the actual toilet and then conversate with American Home Shield that it's ready to go. I've been waiting since April to get my dishwasher fixed. But AHS did excellent. I can go online and put my order in for repair and it works perfect. It's just that the first person that came out fixed everything but my dishwasher because he was waiting on a part. That was April 3rd and today is June 10th. But he was really good. I put in another request for my microwave and the tech that came out instantly knew what was wrong with it. He placed the order and AHS is supposed to replace it but nobody's came back and gotten in touch with me. AHS doesn't have a problem with sending people to come out but the follow-up sucks. Other than that, AHS is great. I like it. I would recommend it to other people. I wouldn't go without it.

On my recent claim, the tech had to replace a pressure tank on a hot water heater. It was a very straightforward issue. He came in, and it was done. The only issue that we had was the address of our property is 995 and when they sent out the technician to make the installation, he was given the address 955. I just happened to see him drive by the house. I went out and I tried to call him. But the wrong address was on the service call. Other than that, everything was fine. He was on time and took care of everything. This was the first claim to American Home Shield and everything's gone just as I would hope.

There's a wall in my room that connects to the bathroom. One day when I was vacuuming, I started seeing yellow and black stuff coming out after I moved the mirror in front of it. There's a little door and my neighbor told me that that's where the plumbing inside of the wall is. I called American Home Shield for a plumber, which was very easy, as always. They are so helpful and so easy to work with. They told me they were sending Shield Plumbing to come check it out.
The plumber opened the wall and the water was leaking. When I turned on my shower, the water was bursting into the wall. The plumber fixed the pipes, and he did it so fast and efficient. I wondered if the black stuff was black mold, but he said it is not. It's just because the water was leaking so long. I was also told that the wall just needed a coat of primer painted over it. That plumber came twice already and he's amazing. He fixed my toilet before that as well. I'm satisfied.

The issue is not fixed yet because the original visit was just to look at it. The contractor had to get American Home Shield to order the water heater because it needs to be replaced. It was over a week before that happened and that was on American Home Shield. But once it happened, they are picking it up. They've scheduled it to come in on Tuesday. That's when it'll be fixed. Luckily, it's got a drain in the room so it's not going into my house and flooding because of it or it would be an emergency.
The person who came in was terrific. He explained what he needed to do and everything worked well. It's just a matter of getting the last part of that, which is for American Home Shield, order the part and communicate with the contractor. The same thing goes with the air conditioner that needs to be replaced. We're still waiting for that. I'm not pleased with the delays. On the air conditioning side, I know that because American Home Shield only works with one vendor, it's gonna take time. But with the water heater, I'm a little bit dismayed because they had an appointment to come out but the water heater hadn't been ordered. I had been told by American Home Shield I had an appointment on Monday. When I called the contractor, I was told that their appointment was on Tuesday. Then that was cancelled because of the water heater not being ordered.
Whenever I've talked to anybody, anybody I've spoken to has been terrific. I called somebody yesterday and that person was fantastic. She went and got the information that I needed which was great. She was very personable and I was very pleased with her. I got an email back from a person who had been assigned to look into this as well.

When the contractor first came out, they tried to put in a washer and a spring. During the second time, they put in a different O-ring and I thought it was gonna be all right. The original leak was in the actual turn, where you turn the faucet. It stopped with the latest thing they did. But now, it doesn't shut off at the spout. They told me that if it didn't work, they were going to order the part and put it in. They're working on it, and I'm okay with everything that's happened. They've been very cooperative when they've been out here. They were having a hard time getting to the part but they did a good job.
It was pretty easy to submit the claim online. There was a time around February that it wasn't working. But American Home Shield got it fixed. The biggest problem I had was on my air conditioner. I ended up replacing my whole air conditioning system. American Home Shield gave me a $450 check, which was based on just replacing the coil. I'm lucky to get that much. But it seems like they should have done a little better because that heating and air system was 25 years old. They should have been a little bit more considerate. I was tired of the headaches and the calls. I knew that the whole thing had to be replaced. But all I got from American Home Shield was a $450 discount with the supplier. The system cost me $7,400, which was a good price from the vendor. I was a little disappointed. But they were very good on some other things.

Mister Service has been great. They’ve been out several times for issues this year. They recently came out for a fridge repair. When I first moved into the home, they came out in November for the same issue with that fridge. The tech is very professional. He replaced the parts that he thought were broken. It took a couple months for them to come in because of supply chain issues. But once they came in, it was working. But as the tech predicted, it wasn't real fixed so it continued to leak. The second time he came out, he agreed that it needed replaced. He processed it and everything was great.
The replacement is supposed to be coming today. I’m waiting for them to come between 11:00 and 3:00 to deliver the second fridge. It was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday but the delivery company that American Home Shield assigned to deliver the replacement fridge was very unprofessional. I'm very frustrated with their process. They called within 20 minutes before they were gonna come.
When they came in, I got them set up so they can replace the fridge. They had asked me one simple question about a waterline and because I wasn't available, they left and made me reschedule even though the job could have been completed on Wednesday. It was the only time during the entire four-hour window I could not be available for 10 minutes. We're working from home and this technician came up. He was yelling outside my office door, asking for me to respond to him when I was on a business call. I complained with the person I rescheduled with. That’s absolutely unacceptable that they would be doing that in a place of business.
My biggest downfall with American Home Shield is the vendors they use to conduct the business. Also, American Home Shield's deductible of $75 per visit is a little steep. Usually, it takes three or four visits before an appliance gets replaced. Now, you've spent $200 on replacing the appliance and that's expensive. If their deductible was $50 per visit versus $75, it would be more palatable and more people would use them.

My experience with American Home Shield has been terrible. They told me on May 24th that I needed a new air conditioning condenser and coil. Since that time, I have requested to find out what make and model they would be ordering. That has still not been answered. I asked how much it would cost for me to upgrade to a higher system, and still haven't gotten that answered. I've had to request a cash in lieu and I had to figure it out about four times before I got it. All of American Home Shield's home warranties are not to the benefit of the consumer at all.
It's been three weeks without air conditioning with weather in the 90s for two weeks, so I'm very dissatisfied. I will not be moving forward with American Home Shield. I'm also a real estate agent and I'm not going to recommend American Home Shield to any of my clients. Furthermore, I plan to talk with my company about their affiliation with American Home Shield, and tell them about my experience. It has been very complicated to get straight answers.
At one point, I waited on the line with a customer service rep for about 15 minutes trying to get the answer to what make and model is being ordered and the answer she gave me was the make and model of my current system after 15 minutes. My current system is from 1999. On top of all of all of that, they said it won't be American Standard, which is my current brand, and that it would be something else. They couldn't tell me what the something else was. But why couldn't they tell me that it would not be the same as my current brand weeks ago?
I certainly hate to hear that you have received less than satisfactory service & I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for sharing your feedback. Have a great week.

The overall general experience is terrible because I have to be on hold for hours. I put them on hold and then, I have to go around doing stuff. I managed to drive my child to school as well as do a lot of work. By the time the person comes on the phone, I've forgotten why I called. That’s bad. I would appreciate it if the hold time is shorter. Also, in my last experience, ANO Appliance came to look at the stovetop. They came out a couple of times to my tenants' house and my beach house. They told us they were going to replace it and then suddenly, I got a text that Sears was at my tenants' door. I was confused as to why it was Sears coming out. ANO already said they were going to replace it.
Nobody knew what Sears was at the door for, and the poor technician from Sears called me, saying, “I'm here. No one's here.” I said, “Who are you? And what are you there for?” I had to call on hold for another hour to find out that it was a second opinion that American Home Shield was requesting from Sears, another company. American Home Shield should at least call or email me, or my property manager, or both, to let someone know that there would be another tech out for a second opinion. We were all flabbergasted why this person was outside and it raised alarm bells to the tenants. The tenant's poor husband has PTSD because he's a war veteran, and he was all stressed out about why all these people were coming over. That's not good for an army veteran with PTSD.
Also, when AHS rescheduled for Sears to come out on June 2nd, the tenants waited at home for the four-hour window, but they were a no show. I heard that the wife of the PTSD army vet was really upset because the no-show did a bad thing on her poor husband. I rescheduled the appointment to today. They're supposed to come today between 10:00 and 2:00, and I told them, “You just call me when you're on the way.”
Thanks for reaching out to provide that feedback. I am glad the contractors followed through with the appointment that was set but happier for you that your issue has been resolved. We are here for you if you need us in the future. Take Care.

He said he could probably put some lines into my wall and find out where the leak is coming from. But that's no guarantee because it might leak out again. He was very polite and straightforward with what was wrong with my AC.
The home warranty is to get things fixed without that high cost. I could see me having somebody to get a new one. But I had also requested American Home Shield to have a plumber sent out and the plumber did not want to work on my kitchen sink. I told him that my kitchen sink was making a noise. I had no air coming out of the vents when I had the AC or the thermostat set to cool. I submitted a request for service and Vierling’s came out and saw that the blower in the furnace was lying on the ground. It had rattled off, but they mounted it back up and got at least air to start moving again. But he suggested that the whole unit is bad and it needs to be replaced. I tend to agree because the vibration coming out of the furnace is shaking the house. It sounds horrible and it's really shaking. I'm not happy with it. The follow-up hasn't been great as well. They haven't contacted me since to continue work. But historically, I've been very happy with AHS. It's been very straightforward and I've had good results.

My AC was making a lot of loud noises and it was so unbearable that I'm sure the neighbors were hearing it because I could hear it clearly in my entire house. Someone came out and replaced the fan. He came back and fixed another thing on there. The tech seemed really helpful and he explained what he was doing. He was very fast at fixing the unit. I'm starting to hear a rattling noise again and it might just be the enclosure for the AC unit. It's okay. American Home Shield seems to be getting better every year. So far, they are doing outstandingly. I like their app and it's really user-friendly. The customer service is really good too. They are very expedient with service.

The process of submitting claims is as simple as AHS could make it but it's not all been a great experience with them. When Sears came out the first time to fix our washer, the guy thought one part was broken. We waited a week for that part to show up and then for them to come back out to try and repair it. But as soon as the next guy came out, he said the first guy was wrong and the said part was not what was broken. It was going to be another week while the second guy ordered the correct part. We spent $200 in the laundromat while without a washer.
Another claim was when the inside of the oven would no longer heat up and a few of the top burners would only light specific periods of time. AHS sent out a repair guy from GE Appliances. But the unit was so old, they no longer make the part so we needed to get a new one. I feel like I was ripped off during the replacement process. Once the tech called AHS and said the unit could not be repaired, they called and they went over comparable options for it being like gas and a range. They sent me pages and pages of units to choose from and I went through it. They were going to put a certain amount of money towards the new one and then I had to pay the difference. I paid almost 900 for the oven I chose but I found it at Best Buy, Lowe's, and Home Depot for 599. I'm a little pissed off about that.
Then, it was a little discouraging that GE just dropped the oven in the kitchen and I still had to wait another six days for somebody to come and hook it up. I was without an oven with a family of six for three weeks. AHS needs to display right off the bat that when you order a new appliance and it has to be installed, the delivery company and the installation company are two separate entities. Had I known that, I would have reached out a lot sooner.
We do appreciate you sharing your feedback and providing your experience thus far. We do apologize for the delay in the repairs related to the appliances and would be more than happy to assist with a resolution. My name is Robert and I will be assisting you further.

The contractor for my electrical needs did very professional, outstanding work. As far as the electrical tech that American Home Shield sent out on my last request, he was more than outstanding. He came in and assessed the situation. He knew what had to be done. The only issue that I had was with American Home Shield's automated system. It works, but it kinda takes you around for very, very long time. When you do get through and let the machine know, it tries to avoid you getting to a direct contact with a person, especially when I need to talk to someone.
After I had got to a point where the machine said, “Okay, I'm gonna transfer you over a representative,” I was put on hold, and I noticed I had to wait a very, very long time for a human to pick up to talk to about my situation. I was very dissatisfied with waiting too long. But when they did pick up, I got very good assistance. They gave me the best service as possible. The automated system probably saves a company extra funds, but there should be a open door where customers can quickly get around it when they need to really reach out and contact a live representative.
I noticed that American Home Shield does not offer a senior citizen discount. If they put that out there, they could also pull in additional customers. Because there's a lot of seniors out there, and that would be very beneficial to them. But overall, American Home Shield offers very good service. When my water heater acted up, I had quick response. I got the part, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I was happy about that. I was glad that it didn't cost me extra money.

The compressor thing for the water pump had an issue and the repair guy put some compressed air into it. He said that it has to be replaced eventually, probably within the year. It's going to be $1,200 to replace it and I'm going to ask American Home Shield if it’s covered with the warranty. I have the air conditioner being serviced now. When it's over 95, it'll turn off and won't work at all. I've had to wait over a week for service to come out so that was not cool. Still, AHS was on it. It's just the scheduling aspect. I have no regrets in purchasing AHS and I will remain a customer, if they will.

We thought we had a leak from our water heater. When the tech came out, he had the foresight to have me check our shower, sink, and toilet to see if maybe one of those was causing the leak instead, before he left, and he found out that it was our shower drain that was leaking and not the water heater. Originally, when I submitted the claim to American Home Shield, I thought it was the water heater because that was where we saw the water. It was on top of the water heater and on the ground.
Submitting the claim was easy. I haven't had any problems with it other than with the end of that claim. When I tried to get them to amend it, the company wants me to put a whole new work order in. I asked to have the order amended from being a water heater issue because the issue hasn't been resolved. I still have a leak so I can't use my shower upstairs at all. So I was hoping, because the issue wasn't resolved, that it can be amended into a shower leak issue instead of a water pump leak issue. I was told that I'd have to set a whole new work order for it therefore paying another fee for it.
We've used Heros Plumbing a couple times now, and I haven't had a problem with them. They're really good. The guy was very professional. He's a little funny because we made a joke. He was very friendly. He made a joke about my football totem that I have in my room. He was really nice, though. He was very respectful and formal. I understand why he couldn't fix the issue that day because he had to put into the order that it wasn't the water pump and that it was the shower instead. He said, “Just call them back and they should be able to amend the work order so I can come back and fix whatever the issue is, or find out what it is and fix it.”
I tried to call American Home Shield the other day, but it took a little while and I was at work and I was on my lunch and just about to leave to go back to work. American Home Shield could have a little more workability when it comes to amendments for certain things. It was frustrating because I was told that I needed to put a whole new work order in for something that still needed a plumber, but the reasoning behind the new work order was that it was a different trade. A plumber is a plumber, whether it's a shower, water heater, sink or dishwasher. He's there to fix whatever issues you have with piping and water.

The most recent claim with Air Majesty went fantastically. I thought for sure that my issue was going to be low freon and I was gonna have to pay $800 like last time to fill it up. But no. The tech came out and said it was a small part and replaced that part. He was gone within 30 minutes. However, I did have an issue last time because there was a claim from the first AC guy. I have two different units and the other unit lost freon. It was leaking. In April, American Home Shield had a different contractor come out and look at it. They said that there was damage to the unit outside from my yard guys and that was what was causing the high-pressure leak. There were parts needed to be replaced in the attic too and it was going to cost quite a bit of money or I could replace the whole unit for five grand.
I contacted American Home Shield to get some clarification on why they weren't covering it. Then we decided to get a second opinion. A tech came for the second opinion which happened to be Air Majesty also. He said the issue was not anything like what the other guy said but it was still gonna cost me somewhere around $1,300 to repair. I thought about going to replace the whole unit. American Home Shield said I had the option to do a cashout. They would give me cash instead of repairing the unit and I could put that towards a new unit if I wanted to. They were supposed to have somebody contact me for that and that never happened. No one ever called me back for the cash option. Eventually, after about three weeks of waiting for that, I called back. I had them go ahead and have Air Majesty come out and repair it. That ended up only costing me $1,000. $800 was freon. That worked out great for Air Majesty as well.
American Home Shield is a fine company for what they do. The fee for the service itself hasn't gone up in quite some time. When I first started, it was $50. It's $75 now. That's not a big deal to me. But the monthly charge is the issue. It's gone up from $40 to $70 a month. That's a little pricey to me. I've been with them for 16 years and I'm not gonna cut bait just because they've been going up a few dollars every year but whenever they have a process of contacting me after the initial call for the cash option, that fell through. My standing with them, being with them for that long, should merit a little pull if I really do need something done. They were reluctant at first to do it. My other issue with American Home Shield is it seems like no matter what time of the day I call, I always get somebody from overseas. I can't understand them with the accents and the different verbiage they use. If American Home Shield is gonna outsource, there are outsource companies in the U.S. that can handle that.

I had a service ticket to American Home Shield for the light in my powder room that went out. I could get the switch to come on but I couldn't get it to go off. I got my American Home Shield contract, called them and they told me that they had a person to do the work. That person called and we set up a date and time, and he came out at that specified date and time. He looked at what he had to do, he went back to his truck and got his part. He gave us suggestions. We had one type of switch, and the plate that went with it was a little old. He made sure everything was coordinated and that we shouldn't use the other one because the other one kept going. We've called on the same switch at least a couple times. He switched us over to something else and it's been doing pretty good. He was extremely helpful.
As far as the AHS contractors, I get the expected timeframe from them. I get the contractor's name and phone number from AHS. If they don't call within the next 12 to 24 hours, then I have their number and I can call them. Most of the time, the contractor calls me even before I can almost hang up with AHS, sometimes, to set up a date and time.
AHS is an okay company. I have an older house, so some things are not covered under their plan. It's just that some things are not covered under an older house. I asked the lady at AHS once before whether I could get something added on because I had a problem with my faucet. I was told that the plan didn't cover faucets. It covered the spigot thing in the tub, but it didn't cover the one in the faucet. Things like that are kinda disappointing. I had to go and find another plumber to come out and fix the drainage.
AHS has really not been an issue for me in the past. We used them a couple of times when he had another property. My nephew talked me into getting it for my residency home. As I get older, I don't feel like being bothered with trying to look up somebody on Angie's List or Craigslist or somebody else. I felt like I could just call American Home Shield and let them take care of it. For the most part, I've not had a tremendously bad experience that I want to just cut them off.

As long as I go through online, submitting claims is fine. The people on the phone are not very communicative for the most part, either through language or training. Also, AHS can provide email communication links so that someone can quickly send information back and forth by email instead of having to call in and wait an hour or two on the phone. As for the contractors, the only concern is I've come across lazy contractors. I don't think any of them are trustworthy.
But overall, AHS is a good deal if you omit the issues with them on Freon. They grant $10 for a pound, which is the wholesale price, but contractors charge you whatever they can get by with, which now is $200 a pound. It kind of negates the whole point of getting the appliance fixed. You go out and buy your own Freon and fix it yourself. That's cheaper than calling one of these contractors and let them rip you off.

On my bathroom in the master bedroom, the toilet wasn't flushing. I couldn't figure out why. So, I had someone come. I paid my 75 deductible. The guy was in and out in less than five minutes. He said the flapper or something was rubbing at the side, and it was moved and causing it not to flush. So he had to just move it back in place. It was flushing when he left. Then a couple of hours later, I went to use the bathroom, and it didn't flush again. I've been so busy. I've been traveling and I haven't had a chance to call back American Home Shield to let them know.
American Home Shield's claims process is horrible. If it’s on the phone, sometimes you leave a message and no one calls you back. Then when we finally get someone on the phone, we could tell it's someone overseas that barely understands English. They’re able to help, but there’s a language barrier. Before someone came for my plumbing, I called them for the AC. I paid my 75 deductible. They had the AC people come out. They diagnosed it. They instantly told me what was wrong with it. They let me know that they are waiting on AHS to give them further instructions about what they're going to pay.
I waited two weeks, and I called Bennett Air. I said, “I still have no air, and I've been waiting.” They said American Home Shield hasn't gotten back to them. I called American Home Shield, and they were like, “Oh, we’re waiting for them to sign some document.” I was like, “Well, they said they haven’t heard from you. So can you send it again or communicate with them?” The lady said that she was going to send them an email saying they were gonna contact them. Finally, after three weeks, they gave me the information. I really was disappointed because I still had to come out of pocket about $2,100. I needed Freon and there was some other repair. I paid like $500 for it. It was something ridiculous. I was like, “What is the whole point of having a warranty when they're not doing majority of the work?” I was really disappointed with that. I’m paying $70 a month, and I don't really feel satisfied. I don't feel like it's well spent.

Fortunately, the ETA when to expect the contractor is always within a reasonable time. Having AHS gives comfort knowing that if something goes bad, it's not gonna cost thousands of dollars, especially when you live in an older home. I had a claim when the AC unit started making a really loud noise, which was the compressor going bad. Then it would just stop cooling and trip a breaker off. Cabot Mechanical kept coming out. They would fix the unit and then it would go out a few days later. It kept going on and on but once they put the new unit in, it's been fine ever since. Cabot Mechanical did a great job.

The tech was very knowledgeable. He was able to explain to me my question, so he addressed all my questions. He was here on time. He made sure that all the stuff was taken care of and had the right parts in his vehicle. So that allowed me to have my AC up and running because I had been waiting. He was prepared and he was able to help me right away, so I like that. I recommend a lot of my clients to get insured through American Home Shield because of another vendor I had touch based with. I really like the service.
I worked at a warranty department for a call center for a utility company back in the day and I had a general idea of terms or concepts of the HVAC system. The AHS rep that I talked to lost me over and over and over again. I'm not sure if the reps are outsourced to a different country and it was like those huge cultural differences that she wasn't able to fully understand. I had to repeat myself over and over. But she was more than willing to take my information and comply and be really helpful overall up to her capacity. She was trying to understand as much as possible. It was a little difficult. But she was really pleasant to speak to. Also, American Home Shield's system was confusing because it would say that the service was confirmed but they haven't confirmed anything with me. But we were able to sort it out directly with the contractors.
My microwave was deemed irreparable by the service technician. But American Home Shield sent me parts and I did not care to have another issue with this stupid microwave. It was very bothersome. It was a very old unit as well. I was really dissatisfied. I had to go to total different experiences with the policy. But the contractors were very knowledgeable and helpful. They were here on time. They did what they had to do. They wore booties when they were inside my house and took them off when they had to go out and fix the unit. I had a really pleasant experience with them. I also asked them if they would recommend any other good warranty companies out there and they did not share, which was good. They were very ethical.

The initial issue was that the system wasn’t working. It will come on and it would just run, but it wasn’t putting no air. When the first guy came out, he checked everything. He came upstairs and fixed something and then it started running like it should. But then it was running nonstop. It got real cold. It would not shut down. So, that was not good.
I called back American Home Shield and they sent somebody out here a few days ago. He checked everything out. He’d seen where the other person had put stuff. Then he put some new stuff there. He went outside, kept back checking and checking. He kept checking the thermostat on the wall. There was something with a wire on that thermostat that's causing the HVAC light to come on. So, at this point, he said everything is running. But we don't have the system on. My wife got in contact with the company where we got this alarm system thing and they’re supposed to be sending somebody here to replace the whole part.
I don't like that it takes too long for American Home Shield to get somebody out here. When I call American Home Shield, sometimes I'm on the line for about one hour and I wouldn't connect. Then when you’re talking to people on the phone, the people are overseas. You can't understand what they’re saying, and there's a break in communication. I’ll waste my time if I don’t understand what’s going on. It’s frustrating me and nothing is getting done. I'm 64 and the way thing used to be is that if you talk to somebody, they're somewhere in the United States. But now, when you talk to somebody about something, it could be in the Caribbean or Korea.
The first time we had problem with this system during the winter time, we went from December up to March, before we got anything corrected. We spent a lot of money with wood it was so much. We pay our money to American Home Shield every month and I expect extreme customer service. But we haven't gotten that. I am not satisfied.

The warranty saves us a ton of money. When you're paying a certain amount for the service call to come out and they're fixing everything, and the parts don't cost you anything, you got to be saving money. Also, if they need a cancellation, there could have been a better attempt to notify me that the appointment was cancelled. I was never notified. It's a concern that when I get a home warranty they make it seem too good to be true in terms of what they cover. Once the AC company comes out, hopefully they fix everything and I don't end up being one of those that has to say, "Don't ever get a home warranty because there's always red tape that is just not made aware of".

The service was good. It's just frustrating because I've carried the service for a year and a half now in my old house that I just moved from. But when I moved in, they put me on where I could only have one service done. And then, I had a waiting period of a month. I talked to five different people. And they all said that they couldn't do it. That they would allow just the one service. And then, I would have to go to the waiting period. I never could get an answer from them. Other than that, it has been all right. The homeowners already had the contract. And they just transferred it over into my name. That worked out all right.
What I did not understand is, what I told them, and they had the information in front of them that was from the title company, that shows that the seller had given me that. All that was in paperwork. And when I read it online, it says that when you receive that, you automatically don't have to go through that 30-day waiting period. I kept asking the rep about that. But I never could get a straight answer. They just kept telling me that I'd have to go through the waiting period. I said, “Well, why are you not honoring this?” “Well, let me check with someone in that department.” And they would come back on the line, five minutes later, and say, “Well, we can't help you.” So, they never would even give me an answer. I even looked it up. It states that they bypassed that, and they never did.
The frustrating thing in that home was the dishwasher was very old. It worked okay. But the motherboard kept going out. When we did the inspection, the dishwasher was working fine. And the day I moved in, went in there and opened it up, there was stale water that smelled like a sewer. So, I had to put up with that for 10 days or longer, before AHS would send anybody out here.
I liked the contractor. They told me they would have to order the part. So, at first, that was frustrating because they said I have to wait, but it was only five days, and said they would get the part in right away through AHS, and then, would install it the next week. But I ended up spending $300 on the old dishwasher because they just kept coming out and resetting it. They wouldn’t fix it. The board must be the most expensive. But instead of just saying, “Okay, stop, we'll just buy you a new one,” I couldn’t get anywhere. Finally, after I spent $300, I stopped and bought it myself. Do not get AHS because it's so frustrating. My daughter-in-law had the same experience. After the contract ends, I am not ever going to renew it again.

Submitting claims to American Home Shield used to be hard but now it's a little easier. They wanted me to keep going on a computer and I'm computer illiterate. For me, it's always best to talk to someone in customer service. Other than that, AHS is a good system to be able to call somebody out when my appliances break down. With my recent claim, the guy had to come back out to tighten up the leak in one of the connectors. But everything is great now.

Our air conditioner wasn't working and the contractor told us they would email us with an approximate date and they did. Then, we asked if we could change it and we did. They came on the time they said. The guy did what he needed to do and since then, the AC seems to be functioning well. The repair helped us sleep better and get our things done that we need to get done without sweating to death. American Home Shield is a good idea. They come out quickly and show you what’s wrong.

The contractor come out and they got the flow of the clog to go a little bit better. But two days later, it was clogged back up. I called American Home Shield and told them what it needed. They haven't contacted me back yet and I've already fixed it myself. So I don't need them to. Submitting the claim is fairly simple but they should have a better customer service. I asked to speak to a supervisor about this issue here and they said they would call me back the same day. But that was a week and a half ago. I still haven't heard from them.
I do not recommend American Home Shield at all. The only reason I have them is because I've already paid it. I'm sure I would have to fight tooth and nail to get my money back. But I won't be renewing with them. Also, most of the time, the people they send out there are people who can't get business on their own because they got a 1.5 star Yelp reviews. So they have to do something to get business and they go through American Home Shield.

American Home Shield’s service is okay but there are some things that I am concerned about. One would be the vendors. They take too long to come out to service whatever the need is. They'll contact you within the 24 hours that they're supposed to, but sometimes their appointments would be two weeks out. I'm gonna be calling them today. My tenant just called me and said that she doesn't have any hot water. We had PG&E to come out and the hot water heater is busted. I can't have her without hot water for two weeks. I know it's gonna take that long so I'm gonna see what I can do.
Also, when a vendor comes out and fix something, the warranty is only for 60 days. Normally, when someone comes out and fix a product or fix something in your home, you get at least a year. When the doorbell went out, I called AHS and they had a vendor that came out to fix the doorbell. Three months later, the doorbell went out again. I had to call so, I had to pay again.
AHS has the vendors on hand and those who come out are qualified. I only had one who wasn't qualified to do some plumbing for me. AHS quickly got somebody else out there because the guy even had to admit that he wasn't qualified to do the job. So, it was a time-saver because I don't live on the property. It’s easier for me to call them and they can find somebody and get them out there. One more thing that I don't like about this is that if I have a complaint, they would tell you to hold and never come back to the phone. You get that often. If the complaint is too big or something that they are not trained to handle, they would tell you to hold on and no one ever comes back to the phone.

Then, I got an email that offered me credit for a new freezer. I had a pipe that was leaking and it created mold in my ceiling. It put us down to one toilet, and I have five people. The toilet is in the master bedroom, so it was not an optimal situation. Plus, I'm the only woman in a house with all those other men and my son has the master bedroom. He's 24 and his girlfriend just started spending the night, so it was even more of a worse situation. I went on, filed the claim, and it was super easy. It was almost immediate that I was assigned someone, and then within the same evening, I got an appointment scheduled. American Home Shield gave me the contractor's phone number. It was a holiday weekend and I was freaking out. I called the plumber himself and he responded with, "It's okay."
The plumber came out the very next day, and he was polite and efficient. He was absolutely fantastic. He was kind enough to come out on a Sunday before Memorial Day. I was so grateful. I'd recommend American Home Shield. Thank God for it. Our house is old, and I'm not well to do. We got the warranty as a preventative measure, not wanting to use it unless it was absolutely necessary. We call for something that I couldn’t fix myself. American Home Shield was right there to help us out. I have a big fancy inside unit in my house and I recently had my outside unit serviced. As soon as the summertime heat hit, our AC went down. I checked the outside unit, and it seemed to be working fine. When I checked the inside unit, it was completely frozen over. It was making cold air, but the motor in it had blown out and it wasn’t pushing any cold air out. That's not something that I know how to fix, so I had to call and get somebody to come and take a look at it.
The guy came out straight away, which was a Friday right before a long weekend. He had to order a part for my unit, because it's a multi-speed motor and it's not one that they keep it in stock. He was great. He left us a window unit that we could put into one of the bedrooms, so the whole family just slept here in the master bedroom for the couple of days until that part got here. He then came out first thing on Tuesday, replaced the motor, and got everything put back together the way it was supposed to be, and we've been doing well since then.

The contractor figured out what the problem was for the dishwasher that wasn't draining. They ordered a part for it and it came in. The tech came back and replaced it. However, we might look at other warranty companies. When we had our AC checked, the contractor came out and said it was no good. They repaired it but we had to pay for additional freon. There were two separate companies and they also tried to upsell us to a new system. From what I've seen in commercials about American Home Shield, my experience wasn't like what you see on TV which is "that’s broken, we’ll fix it” or “we just called and they fixed it” for the AC. They said, "Your system is outdated. We can fix it for you, but it's gonna cost you X amount of dollars.” A way for American Home Shield to make the customer experience better for my experience is not to be so misleading with the commercials that they have.

I kept having these little puddles of water in the floor, and touching the refrigerator, it was very hot. Even though the inside of the refrigerator and the freezer were still working, the surface of it would almost burn your hand. As a result, the techs had to put the fan that goes in there that keeps the mechanical working cool. They assessed that situation. They had to order a part, and they came back out and repaired it for me. So far, I haven’t had any problem.
As far as American Home Shield, they keep going up on the service cost, and I don't use it that much. To have to pay every month for that and then to pay for a service cost, is a little much. Also, they need to be clear on what's covered with an appliance. If there's an issue with the icemaker in my refrigerator in the house where the icemaker didn’t go out, but the little blade that comes on that crushes the ice went out, they wouldn't replace it or repair it because that part was not covered under the warranty. That should be clear. It's also helpful to know the timeframe of which a service call is going to take. Other than those so far the service has been okay.

I call American Home Shield when I submit claims if it's an emergency. The process is very difficult with some people because they have people that do not speak English. I had a problem with my system backing up the other day and I was talking to this young lady and she just didn't understand. They need to have some people that speak English that can relay more to people and let them know what's going on. Also, it takes a while for them to get you to a real person on the line. You're paying AHS all this money every month and you don't want to talk to the automated system because you got an emergency.
But the contractors are very good. I've dealt with Myers for a long time. They installed the air condition for me and they do my inspection for my air condition and my heat. They are very nice. Also, the person from BC Plumbing that came out diagnosed the problem right away. He went out and got whatever had to be done. In less than 15 minutes, the problem was solved.

I didn't have a good experience this last time with American Home Shield. The contractor that came before Active Appliances had an attitude when he came in. He didn't even pay attention to what was wrong with my microwave. He went back to AHS and told them that the door of the microwave was broken. This problem is because of that. Then, AHS sent me an email that it would not be covered. I called them back and said, “I'd like to have a second opinion because the door is not broken. And if you want, I can send pictures of it. Send me somebody else. And if this person says the door is broken, that's fine.”
I'm not satisfied because the guy that took my call was very rude. I couldn't even hear his accent. It was such a bad experience. I said, “Just send me somebody else.” He wouldn't even pay attention to what I was saying. And I said, “I’m so frustrated. Just put your stuff in my shoe. How can you guys just say, ‘No, we can’t fix it. You broke the door.’” I said, “What door? Why don't you come here and look at the door? The door is not broken.” So, Active Appliances came and he said, “Why didn't they fix it for you in the first place?” I said, “Because they said the door is broken.” He said, “The door is not broken. I'll make sure they will take care of it this time.” I said, “Well, you just saved me because AHS didn't believe me. They took the guy’s words. Instead of taking care of the customer, they trusted the contractor."
I asked him, “Can you take pictures of it, then show them to that guy that took the call and just tell them not to do this anymore?” He's going to make customers cancel with AHS. Very bad. AHS should be nice to Active Appliances because they know what they're doing, and they kept me as a customer. If he had not come to my house, I was just about to cancel the AHS and go with American Home Buyers because I have them for my other house.

I put the request for a leak on the fridge and for the icemaker that was not working. American Home Shield's website was fine. There was a couple of things that it didn't allow me to keep going if I didn't know the information, like the model. At first, I tried to submit the request while I was out on the street, so I didn't really know. I have to wait and go back home and do it again. But other than that, it's not too bad. They asked me to pick a timeframe and then I got a text message confirmation saying that someone was assigned and the time that they were expected to arrive. On the morning of the job, I also received a text and then I received a call.
I communicated directly with the technician that came and he was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He was very professional. He explained step-by-step to me. He got his job done. We don't have a water leak anymore. However, I had to call and make a recall on the job because he did told me that it might happen. He said, "Normally, once the clog is gone, everything works fine. But if there's any issue, just make sure you call us back." So it is not leaking anymore, but my icemaker is still not working.
When I put my first request for my sink, I didn't know that I can add more than one sink because the website doesn't explain that. That was the only issue I had with American Home Shield. Now, I'm gonna have to pay another $100 to get someone to look at the other sink. I could have gotten everything looked at the first time. So there should be a disclaimer on the website that says you can add multiple or if it's the same or similar issue to the same request. Other than that, American Home Shield is the best thing ever. I don't have to worry. I make a phone call, pay $100 and they come and take care of the problem.

Our AC unit wasn't getting power. AHS ended up having to send an electrician who then rectified the problem. One thing about AHS's process is that I learned to look and see what's covered first. And then, I cal and verify three times that what I'm calling for is covered because we submitted a claim back in October and the item wasn't covered. So, we wasted $75. For the things that are covered though, AHS's process is pretty smooth. Each time I go look and see what's covered. AHS's website makes me download a PDF. So, I have to search through my own PDFs, go back and delete 100 PDFs to check what's covered. It would be easier for me if it was labeled on their website where I didn't have to download my coverage each time.

We found that there was a leak in the inside unit. It's called A-coil, and Westex Air said, “We'll have to order one.” They ordered it and when it arrived, they came out and put it in very successfully. My daughter lives in the house and it is nice and comfortable now. I also asked that the repair company clean the outside unit because the veins of the unit or little holes in the coils outside were stopped up with dirt. They performed that service for me, and they did a fine job. The only questionable area to me would be that the repair company billed me for the refrigerant, which was a certain amount, but they discounted the price on the bill.
American Home Shield allows $10 a pound, and Westex Air used six pounds. Instead of charging me $45 a pound, it was $35 a pound. I didn't see that that had been discounted, so I had a question of who do I get the $10 a pound to pay for it. I called American Home Shield. They said, "You really need to call and see if they gave it to you at a discount..." The fellow that I talked to with the home warranty company said that's how they sometimes do it, but I will have to file a separate claim to get the $10 a pound. The other thing would be that Westex Air didn't have the price of the A-coil. They said they replaced it and the receipt showed they did. American Home Shield paid for it too. However, there was no indicator on the receipt how much the A-coil costs, which was a curious point. Other than that, I was pleased with their service. They did a thorough job.
The fellows who came out was a technician and his apprentice or helper came with him. My daughter asked them to wear a mask, and they complied. That was good. She's got an immune disorder, and COVID is still gently with us as well, so she didn't want to take any chances. I would recommend American Home Shield. In fact, what led me to use the service is I worked for Century 21 for a few years as a Realtor, and I used to offer American Home Shield with the sale of a house. It was something I was aware of and have been for quite some time. They helped me sell homes.

The only thing I noticed that was a little confusing was when I put the first claim in, I cancelled it and American Home Shield don't charge the call fee when you cancel it. I got the email saying that it was cancelled. But it wasn't sent in time to the people that the work was going to be scheduled with because they were calling to set something up. The guy even told me that he could be here in 30 minutes. I had to tell him that we canceled it and I felt bad having to be the person that had to relay that to the company. But they were very friendly about it. Other than that, everything was great.

He recharged the coolant explained to me what he was doing. However, I have a second claim that has been denied because AHS thought the problem was the filtration system. But the tech who saw it said it's the expansion tank. I was told they're gonna send an email to the contractor who would then contact me. It's been over a week now and I'm still waiting to hear back.

I had my policy with American Home Shield for at least 10 years and when I had an issue, it was taken care of. Sometimes it would take longer than I would have liked, but that was not American Home Shield's problem. It was supply and demand in terms of parts. They had my two-year-old dishwasher fixed. I have two air conditioning units and American Home Shield had those repaired three times. There was also service done to my washer and dryer a couple of times.
What I liked about American Home Shield was I didn't have to worry about finding somebody to fix things. They do that for me. I was happy with them. But the premium got really expensive on a monthly basis so I started looking around. I terminated my contract at the end of May and went with First American. My policy went down about $25 a month.

I sent an email to submit a claim and AHS sent me back who was going to be available, and I agreed to the time. The technician came on time, immediately assessed the situation, and saw that the refrigerator was irreparable. I ordered one and it won't be delivered till the 21st, so I'm trying to squeeze some type of life out of the refrigerator I have until I finish sending the receipt to AHS. The technician made some recommendations with regards to doing that. It's not a refrigerator anymore, it's just a place to keep stuff cool in the freezer. Overall, I'm very happy with the service.

We've used AHS for 10-plus years and they have performed admirably. In this day and time, especially with the way manufacturer's warranties work now, getting the home warranty is a minor cost in the big scheme of things when you look at the cost to replace stuff. We recently had a claim for the refrigerator and ultimately, the repair wasn't completed. Then, after about four weeks of me calling and calling, we got the resolution and AHS sent me a check for a replacement refrigerator. But when this thing was kicked over to the authorization department to get it done, there was no way to communicate with the authorization department. I told them that and put a negative review out on it. Then, they contacted me and the one who resolved this for me was one of their social media people. But it was frustrating that I had to keep badgering them.
Another thing is, they sent me a replacement cost which was not enough to replace the refrigerator. The refrigerator's only two years old, so for all intents and purposes, it's still almost new. But to replace the refrigerator that we've got would require $3,000 and they only sent me $2,028. So, we're still going to have to come out of pocket. Other than that, all my previous experiences with American Home Shield have been excellent and for the most part, except for this one time, they have lived up to my expectations of the way they would perform.

Aside from that, I just noticed today that my monthly payment went up $18 a month and I don't know why. It went from 50.99 to 68 something. I was going to call them about it and it was hard to find how to contact them on their website. Within the last two hours, I was on their website for that.

But on a previous call, the contractor did not do anything and charged me for it. I had to call to get another person to come out. That was difficult because AHS was using a call center in the Philippines and it was difficult for the rep and I to understand each other. Other than that, AHS is fine. I submitted a claim for a replacement of a faucet for the kitchen. Also, I wanted someone to look at a clog in the basement and a leak on the ceiling of the basement from the tub. It was easy to submit the service call to American Home Shield and they said somebody would contact me within 24 hours. But I needed the faucet replaced as soon as possible. It hadn't been 24 hours and I called TMD Plumbing the next morning. I left a voice message and the rep called me right back. She gave me a time frame and the date and the guy came out. He looked at everything and told me right off the bat.
He was able to replace the faucet and the clog ended up being the septic or the sump pump, so I had to replace that. He couldn't do it at the time, so he gave me a quote on that. And the leak that I thought was under the tub that ended up going to the ceiling was too much water splashed outside and he gave me ideas on how to resolve it.

Norcal Repair Services did a great job on the microwave. There was a bad heating element that was from the manufacturer that wasn't their fault. So, they’re coming back. They were amazing. Even though it was time-consuming, they were like, “Okay, we got to do this.” My washing machine was grinding while they were here. The tech said, “You need to call in before that thing goes out.” Also, I opened the refrigerator just before they got here. My milk fell out. My shelves fell out. It broke. He was like, “You need to call and put those both in one.” They were very helpful. I would definitely recommend them to my friends because my oven wasn't working, and they came out and fixed that.
As far as American Home Shield, I would be keeping them when my year comes up. It’s something I feel that is very beneficial to the homeowner because things can get pricey. The service techs that they sent out were competent, professional and did a good job. I'm going to ask them to have Norcal come back and be the people to fix my washing machine and my refrigerator. The whole thing with the AC claim was great from beginning to end. The contractor came out on time. They fixed everything. It was covered under the warranty and the AC is working great now. American Home Shield is user-friendly. It was really easy to submit the claim. I went on to My Account, hit the request service button, put AC, and then two hours later, some guy called me. It was pretty fast.
I made another claim because we had a plumbing issue and it kind of fell apart. It was a while before I was contacted. But that wasn’t American Home Shield’s fault. They said the contractor was gonna call me, but the contractor took two days, and then once they came out, you could tell they were tired. It was the end of the day. They said they made a phone call. They also told me two minutes later that whatever needed to be done wasn't covered under the warranty, and then they were trying to bill me $500.
The contractor said they spoke with American Home Shield, and that American Home Shield told them that I would have to pay out of pocket for the cleaning. So if that is true, American Home Shield didn't back the warranty that they were supposed to. I'm pretty sure draining those main lines is part of the plumbing contract for the warranty, but I don't know if they actually spoke with American Home Shield to see if it was covered. I think they were just trying to get more money. So I haven’t been able to get to fix things up. I’ve been trying to call different plumbers because I didn't want to pay that amount. But it's hard finding a plumber right now. We can’t use any of the showers in the house now.

When I put in a claim through American Home Shield, oftentimes, they will tell me when the vendor is going to come and then they don't show up. I have to keep calling. I work for a living, so if they tell me they're going to be at my house in between so and so time, I'm going to make it a point to be there even if I have to take off my job. There should be a courtesy call if they're not gonna make it. Time is so precious and valuable. I am one not to waste time and it really bothers me that somebody wasted my time.
I also had one problem and I was getting ready to cancel my account with Home Shield because I wasn't satisfied. I called way back in February and put in a claim to have three ceiling fans in two different rooms repaired. When the guy got there, he fixed the two in the master bedroom, but he said he didn't have a ladder for the fan in the den. It's an extremely tall ceiling and he said would be back the following week, but he never showed up. It got to be four weeks. I called four times, and I never got an answer from the repairman.
I called Home Shield back and told them what was going on. They said to let them call him, and they did, but he never came out. As of yet, we still have not gotten the fan fixed, and I've called Home Shield five times. I had to threaten to cancel my account to get something done. They assigned it to somebody else, which is what I was asking for all the time. The new repairman is supposed to be out at 4 o'clock today to fix my fans.

When I had a plumbing issue, I utilized the electronic way to do the claim. There were three issues and when the plumbing company came out, the only issue they could correct that day would be what AHS told them to, which was the faucet. There were other issues that I didn't tell the computer it needed correcting. So, my preference to line these maintenance things was to speak to a person.

When I was with 2-10 Home Warranty, they would get in contact with a contractor and set up the appointment. With American Home Shield, they give the name of the contractor and I have to call and set up the appointment. In the beginning, the AHS reps ask what time I want to schedule for the contractor to come. I have to go through that whole process again after I've contacted the contractor myself.
The tech for my stove claim recognized the problem right away and fixed it. He demonstrated that the stove was working before he left and asked me if I had any questions. If you don't have an emergency fund, a home warranty can be beneficial. But, if you don't use it, you just kicked out $700 for peace of mind. I've found handymen and technicians and what they would charge me would not come up to the full amount of the home warranty. So, it would be cheaper to just do that. I give AHS $700 and I have to pay $100 for them to come out. I could do better going out on my own.

The installer was on time. They did really well in answering questions, installing and with cleanliness. The only hiccup that we had was when they were supposed to fix the toilet. We had a bidet attached, so they had to get the claims process approved by AHS before they could come back and do it. That part could have been improved because when AHS got the order from them, they sent me a voicemail, and I called them back. They said that they were gonna send G & G plumbing another work order, but I guess they never got it, so I was the one that had to call and reschedule everything. The first claim was easy. It was just when they had to get that second work approved, it seemed like there was kind of a disconnect between who was supposed to be calling who or sending another work order. So, that could have been more streamlined. Still, it's overall a simple process, instead of going out and researching plumbers and stuff on my own.

We smelled gas. So, we called the gas company. They came out, put paper on our stove and were like, “You can't use your stove.” The appliance company came out and he was a lovely gentleman. He was super sweet. He checked some things. He had his little meter out. And he was like, “There's nothing wrong so there's nothing for me to fix. It could be your furnace.” Because we just moved into the home. So, it was the first time we were using a lot of these things. The appliance gentleman explained it to me. He said, “Because the house was sitting for a couple of weeks, there can be air pockets. And then, when you turn it on, you get this whole burst of it.” He said, “I'm gonna go ahead and switch this over to HVAC so you don't have to pay again. Because literally, I didn't do anything. There's nothing wrong. When I get home later today, I will send in the paperwork.”
American Home Shield has been super sweet too. I've called them a couple of times. They said, “We can't switch it until we get his notes. And we don't have it.” I tried to call the appliances. They've called twice. And at one point, the lovely woman said, “Well, I can just go ahead and reimburse you.” And I was like, “Well, I can wait for him to get in contact with you. I'm not worried about it.” But now I realize I should have just had her do that.

Sometimes, it's a little hard to get the right type of contractor. I had a problem with trying to do it just using the online menu. Usually, I had to speak to someone to make sure I got it correctly, what I needed done, what the problem was. Then generally, it's going to cost $100 to get someone to come out and address whatever the issue happens to be. I got someone I could call directly, and it's been pretty good about assigning someone. But I had a little bit of a problem last summer when my refrigerator went out. It took a while and a couple of different contractors before I could get someone to come out right away. Then, of course, they needed a part, and I had to wait another week. Imagine going a couple of weeks without a refrigerator. It eventually got fixed, so that was the good side of it.
Recently, my pool heater was not working. The first contractor that was picked couldn't come for two or three weeks, so I asked for a different one. AHS picked another one out. They sent a tech and he saw that a piece of equipment needed to be replaced. I waited another week, they had to get the piece of equipment, and they sent out a tech and fixed it. In fact, he had to look for another part for the display portion, and he found it and came back and fixed it with no problem. Overall, I've got the right kind of coverage and I've been happy.

I can't expect anything different especially with covid. They're out and done within two days.
My hot water heater in my barn had busted on the bottom. A plumber came out and the home warranty was going to cover the unit but not the plumber. That was $400 or $500. I didn't have that money at the time so I had to wait on that. When I got the money, I ended up buying it outright and paying it. Then I submitted that to get my hot water heater. American Home Shield was very prompt in taking care of my claim for the AC and once I got the request through, they gave me numbers. The one thing that I didn't like was I stayed on the line for an hour and a half and then another hour after that but I never got to speak to anyone. But they had Lane Services out in a reasonable time. Then, two days later, the AC was still having issues with temperature. They came back out and they thought they had fixed it again. I'm not really happy with the American Home Shield about the AC units. They only pay like $10 on some of the coolant and the prices of the coolant have gone up a whole lot. They should adjust some of their prices on that too.
AHS can also have more customer service when the customer calls in and ask for an agent to talk to. The problem was I didn't have anything. When I would call them, it was all automated and it went to a service thing that I have to hold. I couldn't say that I'm still having trouble and when I tried to do that, they would switch me back over to the main menu. It was frustrating. They kept saying they would place my request for what I need. I didn't need anything but for someone else to go back out and check it and I couldn't get anywhere that way.

We just bought our house, and all the appliances are brand new (the washer, dryer, stove, dishwasher, and fridge). That's wonderful. However, the AC, the furnace, and the water heater are almost 30 years old. We knew that we would be running into issues with them with purchasing the home, and being first time homebuyers, we requested the home warranty thinking that that it would be super beneficial. If something were to happen, our system would be replaced because it's so old. So, we first moved in and had the unit serviced like they suggested, via email. I paid $75 to have it cleaned and checked, so they did that. Allied Air was great. The tech came out and did what he was supposed to do. The AC was pumping cold air and working great again.
I'm in Illinois and it got cold again outside, so then we needed to kick our heat on. We had an issue with it, so we had to request service for our heat. That was 75 the first time, and 100 the second time. They came out, cleaned the heating coils, and got the heat up and running. Awesome. That's working now, then it got hot outside again and we were using the air. On Memorial Day, a holiday, it was 95 degrees here in Illinois, and the AC went out. I put in a service request with American Home Shield and paid the 100 bucks. The guy came out, thought it was just this one little part, and replaced it. "Oh, look, it's not just that little part. It's the whole compressor." Everyone that I've talked to said if the compressor goes out, they just replace it, instead of paying for a new one.
I get it's our first year with this home warranty company (that's probably why it's not being replaced), but I'm frustrated with this AC situation. I was sure they were going to replace it if they looked at how many times their people have come and serviced it and how long we've been with them. I'm sure at the end of the day, the company as a whole needs to make money. That's what all businesses are about and that was why I was thinking they were replacing it, but they're not. Now we are on day number nine of no air conditioner. I have five kids between me and my boyfriend. When they finally let me know they aren't replacing it, but they are authorizing to order the parts, I'm like, "Okay. Fine."
Not only is the home warranty company not gonna pay for the parts, but we're gonna pay for the refrigerant on this 30-year old system as well. I'm not the one that paid for the warranty, so I didn't read the whole contract, but then I found out we have to pay $595 out of pocket for the refrigerant for them to fix the thing, not even replace it. I talked to a couple different people that know HVAC besides the guy that we were paying to fix it. 'Cause I figured I should get a second opinion. They're like, "The same thing's gonna happen every single summer. So you're going to go through this every year. It's 30 years old. Every single year, you're gonna have to call in a thing with American Home Shield, and they're going to do the same thing to you."
My boyfriend's parents also have this home warranty company and they still go through them. They're not saying, "Don't continue to go through them," but they have the same issue. American Home Shield has replaced their compressor 15 times. It was so much money being poured into it, and it doesn't make sense. Finally, they ended up replacing their own AC unit because it still was never replaced.
The people I talked to told us, "You might as well just bite the bullet. If they're not willing to do it for you, then just buy one." If something goes wrong, it'll be under warranty with who I buy it with and I'll still have American Home Shield for backup. Overall, American Home Shield is doing what it's supposed to do, but it really sucks that the AC is 30 years old. It's from 1990, and it's now 2021. Everyone's like, "There's no reason to repair it. It's 30 years old." They told me 10 to 20 is a good life of a AC unit.

The website for requesting service was pretty cool. I put in what I need and then someone contacted me 12 hours later and got an appointment scheduled. Realty Rekey's guy was super nice and friendly. We have a new puppy here and he was willing to play with her. This is the first time we've ever had a warranty service but everything was as I was told. I hope I don't have to use it again but if I did, it wouldn't be the end of the world because I know it would be pretty easy to get everything figured out.

The tech from Nunez Heating/Air Plus More came on time and knew exactly what the problem was. He showed the problem to me and took pictures of it. It took about a week for the part to come in and then, he came in and within 10 minutes, he fixed the problem. He turned on the oven to make sure it worked and the burner turned red. I've been with AHS for a long time. I got my girlfriend to sign up with them and she just left because they're getting harder and harder to contact. My contract is almost up and if it wasn't for this good interaction I had this time with them, I was thinking about changing too. The price keeps on going up and the customer service is getting harder to contact.
Also, the air conditioner went last year and people told me I need a new heater. The heater in the air conditioner was old but it was working so I didn't expect them to change it but they told me I had to change it. It was their choice and then they charged me the cost of the heater because they said it wasn't covered. It cost me $3,000 for a heater and the air conditioner when I just needed the air conditioner because the old heater was working. I knew the heater needed to be replaced soon, so I didn't mind changing it, but that wasn't my choice. That was their choice telling me that it had to be changed at that time and that it wasn't gonna be covered.

Reliable Mechanical Services called pretty quickly to set up the appointment, and the techs were able to come during their window and get everything fixed. So it went really well. The scheduling with American Home Shield was okay. Sometimes, I don't really know how to fill out the forms because I don't really know what's going on, but I give it my best guess and it seems to work okay so far. The only thing is with the claim I have going on right now, the rep only texts and that kind of bothers me.

AHS covers everything and that gives me peace of mind. When I need them, they provide the service so I'm not sitting there for a week with something broken. Also, the contractors they've sent out were always very pleasant. One of our HVAC units stopped cooling and Guaranteed Services came out. They looked at it and said that they would have to order a part. Then, they came back and put the part on.

When my air conditioner wasn't working at all, the repairman came out in less than a week and put in a new motor (the motor was broken). Everything went well. However, my AC is making a rattling noise. The repairman told me to contact him directly within a two-month time period if there was something going on. I contacted him, and he has not come out yet. Apart from that, he was very good and professional.

The hose from the washing machine that goes into the drain and then back out to the sewer was overflowing and water was flooding into the kitchen and into the back hole of the house. AHS was very helpful. They set me up with a plumber who was very professional. He did his best to clear the line. The work was satisfactory. The next day, it flooded again. I contacted the company and they sent the same person. We tried to replicate the problem but we weren't able to. The plumber was knowledgeable although he was frustrated that he couldn't figure out what was going on. He advised me to make a record of all the details every time I wash my clothes - how full the washing machine is, the hours in it, and what cycle I have it on. So, if the flooding happens again, I'll have information leading up to it. AHS was a conscientious service. They went out of their way to correct the issue quickly.

Ryco Electric came out to check the lights that were flickering in my bedroom, laundry room, and kitchen. The service was really good and the electrician went above and beyond. He switched out the whole light fixture in my room and he even rewired the closet light as well. But there's one bulb that has started flickering again so I don't think he changed that one all the way out.

I filed for the dishwasher and the garbage disposal at the same time because there was something happening between the dishwasher and the piping that was causing the dishwasher to overfill into the sink. The guy who fixed the garbage disposal did great and we ended up needing a new disposal. So, I'm happy that he was able to get that done but he didn't look into the other piping. He may not have understood that he needed to. I was on a conference call because I work remote, so I couldn't be in there with him and have full conversations, so that part didn't happen. Then, when the guy from a whole different company came for the dishwasher, he wouldn't look into the pipe so I'm still stuck with the same problem. American Home Shield was supposed to be sending someone else out but I haven't heard anything from them or from any of their contractors to come out and look into the plumbing or the dishwasher again.
I am actually having a challenge accessing my account online, and it's been like that for several weeks now. When I called in to request someone else come back out, the gentleman I spoke with said he put in a ticket for IT to have that resolved. I still cannot log in, and I'm not receiving the email. When I go to do a password reset, I'm not receiving those emails to allow me to reset my password so it's been a little frustrating. Typically, whenever I do my claims online, everything goes smoothly. I usually don't have any issues. I don't know what the difference is, but calling them in is not getting it resolved.

The air conditioner fan wouldn’t turn on and it ended up being just a part. The tech was in and out of here in 15 minutes. When I had the plumber out to my house, he had to cut a hole in my wall to access the plumbing. He said somebody would come back and fix it, but nobody has ever been back to fix it and it's been six months ago.

Requesting for service was easy online. I got a call, and they went ahead and scheduled with me. I originally put in a claim for my icemaker. It was not working, and the repair man got it to work. It was great. He knew what he was doing, and he didn't take too long to figure out what happened. However, the water in the icemaker was very salty. When the ice started to come out, I threw them out and made some more. I did that a couple of times, and then it would still have that salty taste to it. Eventually, I called the repair company back, and I asked them to come and look at it. They didn’t come out, though. They just said that I needed to get an inline filter for the water. I just bought this condo, so I wasn't sure what I needed as far as the ice and the water. I wanted someone to come back, but I know that that would probably be an extra fee on me.

I called Home Shield and let them know what was wrong. They got in contact with the people, and the people responded back to me within 24 hours and set up a time. They came out, looked at it and got their work done. The tech who came to do my AC was very courteous. He let me know what he replaced and everything was fine. That went good. On the other hand, I had a claim where I had to wait on a part to come in, and I was concerned about that ‘cause it took two weeks. With the pandemic though, I understood and I kept in contact with the company that was assigned to me. It had been taken care of and I'm okay. Get American Home Shield.

We were trying to turn our thermostat on and it wasn't sending anything to the unit. The unit wasn't coming on at all, only the fan on the inside was coming on. I submitted a claim online with AHS pretty late in the evening and the tech called me first thing the next morning. He was super friendly and very detailed in what had to do. He asked me what was going on and I let him know. When he was done, he showed me the piece that burned up and how he replaced it. Then he thanked me for the business. I tell my friends all the time that getting AHS is the safest thing to do and I like the convenience of having the warranty. We've had to use it a few times and it has helped us out in times my husband didn't want to deal with the problem.

Some of the vendors through American Home Shield are not that reliable. I’m a nurse, and they got windows that go for eight hours a day, and I don’t have that kind of window. Discount Contractors is great. I work 16 hours a day and five days a week. I was running late. My son told me they would turn around and get the job done. The tech was able to come back. He didn’t have to because I was running late, but he totally sent someone out and got the job done. I was very pleased with that.
The biggest thing that I have an issue with is American Home Shield does not disclose what they cover. I never know what it is that they cover until I get the denial. That is disappointing. My garage door failed, and I called them. I paid $100, but then they didn’t cover the door. I’d like it to be more transparent, so then I would know. I eventually just paid out of pocket. The company that they recommended charged me $3,000. Then the company that I found on my own charged me $1,700. It was almost half price.

It's simple submitting a claim with AHS. I can go on my cell phone and pull up their website and submit an order. Within a few minutes, I'm getting a phone call from them, and then, I get a phone call from the contractor that they're trying to do the job. This is the third time we used it, and each time, they've had some really good contractors come out.
The first one and the most recent one was the Sunbelt Electric, and it was even the same guy. He's a good candidate. He's very knowledgeable, respectful and he does his work quickly and professionally. With our most recent claim, the ceiling fan motor went out. He checked it out and told me that the fan was burned out and then he already had a fan to replace it with. He installed the fan and it's been working great ever since. We're pretty happy with AHS so far. They've been really good for us.

I'm very happy with American Home Shield. When I signed up, the people that referred me said, “They don't really get back to you. It takes forever to get a technician out.” But I didn't have that experience. American Home Shield answered my calls right away. I didn't have to hold forever to talk to somebody which I really appreciated. Getting someone out to service the appliances that I needed to be serviced took forever because my schedule sucks. The contractor was available right away but I wasn't. I ended up having two and both of them were nice. They explained what was going on. They also explained prevention and maintenance. They told me how to call back American Home Shield to get other stuff going on. They really helped kind of keep things moving by closing that gap of how to go back through American Home Shield to get the repair done that I needed.
