We had smoke detectors that were 16 years old. So, we needed them replaced. I got someone to come out who noticed it was 16 years old. So, we asked him to replace them and check all the connections with it. He was incredibly helpful. I find having American Home Shield a very useful thing to do. You can get your service done at one-shop place. You then get to know what the different contractors are around. So for me, it's great because you don't go trolling around the internet having no clue who’s gonna come.

My dishwasher, dryer, and washer all needed repair. I was satisfied with who American Home Shield sent. They had to order parts. So, it took a week. But all in all, it was good. The tech was quick. It took him 15 minutes to do all three. With having American Home Shield, I don't have to go and find a repair person myself. So far, so good.

Sewer Medic came out to dry my walls on the inside and so far, they are doing a very good job. I haven't had any problems with American Home Shield and it's been a good experience for me. My sister has AHS too and she was the one who told me about calling them about this water problem that I was having so, I did.

The tech came out to fix the power that was off and on in three of the bedrooms. He did a good job. We thought the problem was something within our main bedroom, but it wasn't. He took apart the fan, which had nothing wrong, and he ended up fixing some wire that he thought was wrong. Then he found the source of the problem in our kids’ room and he ended up fixing that. It was really fast and convenient. It was nice. He was a good tech. He came within the time period that he said he was gonna come and he was professional. This claim was perfectly fine, but the claim with the AC and with the plumbing for the water heater have not been great. The AC unit claim has been open since June, and I haven't heard anything. So I'm not happy with American Home Shield.

American Home Shield's service was amazing. I was very excited about this warranty. There were two separate claims. After the inside plug failed, the outside one failed too so the contractor came back out the second time. They were able to fix the outside and that was fantastic.

I'm not overly thrilled sometimes with American Home Shield, and I have considered going to someone else. I understand that if an appliance can be repaired, that's what they do over a replacement. My washing machine went out and the guy that they sent said he was gonna recommend it to be replaced. But American Home Shield did not replace it. They made him come back and repair it.
Recently, I had a situation where I had a leak. They sent a plumber who cut a hole to get to the pipes. He said that there was no leak in the pipes, which I was glad to hear. He said I needed to get someone to come in to do caulking around the fixtures. Then I had someone else who told me that the showerhead really needed some kind of mesh tape around it. My thought was, if American Home Shield sent a plumber to fix something for me, they should have been able to fix it. The person who told me that I needed mesh tape around the showerhead unscrewed it from the wall, put some kind of special tape around the ridges, put it back in and I did not have the problem anymore. I did go on and take the advice of having somebody come in and caulk around it in case that was an issue.
American Home Shield did send someone else back to fix the hole. The guy said, "It's gonna have to be sandpaper.” I told him, "If you put a drywall up, you should avoid sandpaper to sandpaper it.” He said, “When you get rid of paint, the painter will know to sandpaper it.” Sometimes, I don't think they send the best people out and sometimes I'm not always pleased with the service that I've gotten from some of their contractors. But they haven’t been all bad. When my refrigerator went out, American Home Shield did replace it.

Our AC was not blowing cold air. I had another technician took a look at it and he said the condenser was blown up. When A L Affordable from American Home Shield came out, he said the same thing. After a week, he brought it and then he fixed it. It's working fine now. I love AHS. It's helped me a lot because that condenser and fixing it, would cost me a lot of money. So I saved a lot on that.

The AC unit wasn't coming on and when the tech came over here, he saw that it was a capacitor that was bad. He changed the capacitor, and it started working again. Then he came in and checked the temperature and stuff in the house. He was very courteous, professional and a good person. A few years ago, I had a problem with the water heating and the people that came over said they thought it was a slab leak. Another specialist supposedly had come out here with a sonar but didn't really check anything out. They just said, "You have a slab leak. And the best thing to do is if you route your plumbing so it goes upstairs and comes down." What it would cost me was way too expensive, so I didn't do that.
It's good to have the coverage because if I would have called someone by myself, it would have cost a lot more than my $125 copay I had to pay for them to come out here. If it's something that's gonna cost about as much as your copay, just buy and do it yourself. Don’t call Home Shield to try to get something new. If you've got something that needs to be fixed, it comes in handy. When somebody asks me, I tell them they need to get Home Shield. They got a good play going on, and I don't mind spending the money if nothing does happen. At least I got peace of mind that I'm covered.

One evening, the downstairs air conditioning unit quit operating, so I went online with American Home Shield's website and submitted a trouble ticket. Almost immediately, I got back a text message that said Valley Construction had been identified as the the contractor assigned to my case and that they would be in contact with me. That was super easy. The next morning, I waited until about 10 o’clock, then I gave the phone number a call. Talked to Pete. He said he happened to be in the area working on another install, and he would be at my house that afternoon. He came out and fixed it. I was watching what he was doing and talking to him while he was doing it. He was very competent and very thorough with it, so I was very happy with what he did.

When we flush the toilet, it was going into the bathtub. Somehow it didn't do it at first, but the buildup made it go ahead and do that. The person came in, fixed it and it's fine. Everything was done quick with the claims process. Even this morning, I had to call in again for another problem and it's going to be taken care of. I'm getting a security system and they can't put the camera in because there is something wrong with the wiring of the doorbell. I made a call a few minutes ago and American Home Shield is going to contact me about that. I'm sure it'd be fine. All in all, everything has been good. Hopefully, I won't have any more problems, so I won't have to find out.

The claim was for the condensation drain that was plugged up. Our unit is in the center of the house, so it was starting to leak water from the condensation pan. A technician came out and cleared out the drain line. He sucked out the drain line from the side of the house that goes under the concrete slab then up to the unit that’s in the house. He cleared that so that it'll drain the condensation water out from the pan. He told me to put a small mixture of water and bleach down that cleanout tube and that will keep it from gumming up.

Out of all the home warranties, American Home Shield is the best one I've ever used. They don't hassle me if I call them about three or four times. They listen and they don't say, "Well, I'm not sure if that's covered." When something happens, I need to call them, I don't want an issue, just come out and fix it and go away. It's awesome that they send someone out because I'll use them forever now and I'll have fewer issues. If I have issues like the tub's blinking, the toilet, the water is running, they'd let me combine them all into the $175, which is really nice. With my recent claim, the dryer was really hot. Whirlpool came and checked to make sure that the filter or the vent thing was all cleaned out. I have referred American Home Shield to so many people so far saying, "Don't even use anyone else." I'm so impressed with them.

We just bought our house and a lot of the major appliances are pretty old so the warranty helps. We recently had the AC worked on and it went well. The contractor fixed it.

I’ve had claims with American Home Shield on my AC unit, my oven and my washer and dryer. It’s a little bit of everything and the claims process is usually the same. It’s smooth and within 24 hours, they have somebody calling, communicating and trying to make an appointment with me on when the company is going to come over and fix whatever is broken in the house. The contractors were good although there were a couple of guys who couldn’t get the job done that day. But some of them even went out of their way and worked over the time that they were supposed to to get the appliance fixed for us. So, I absolutely have no complaints there.
American Home Shield is fairly inexpensive. For the work that we’ve had done, I would probably have paid double or triple what I paid so far from working through them. The customer service has always been good. They've always been nice and accommodating to whatever I needed. There were a couple of times when I called them and I didn't know if they covered that area, and they were patient with me. So, I have no problems. I'm a very satisfied customer.

The second bathroom toilet decided to either completely drain and give a sewer smell or overflow and just run. Tom Melton Services had a fellow within an hour and a half at the house the next day and had it taken care of. It's nice to have a warranty on things breaking down when getting a new home. I was not pleased to be able to test the service, but impressed with how it worked.

When I called American Home Shield, they came out quickly and did the job right away. I noticed that on two of the rooms, the air was not coming out the vent like in the other rooms. The ducts were not the way they were supposed to be and air was escaping in the attic. I called and AHS sent someone who fixed it in one day. It's working good now.

When we submitted a claim with AHS, somebody came within a couple of days. The tech evaluated the situation and let us know he'll get back to us. But over a week went by, we didn't hear anything at all. Within a couple of days, they sent somebody over, but it sounded like we had been forgotten. But when the second tech came, it was perfect. He changed the fan and was gone in 15 minutes.

I'm feeling good about American Home Shield. I was very happy their technician was able to come out and get my air back going upstairs 'cause it was kind of hot up there. He did a good job. He came in no time and got it taken care of. He wasn't there long as I thought. However, when I did call the claim in to American Home Shield, I got a lady that had an out of country accent. We were having problems understanding each other. I ended the call and it was easier for me just to do it online.

I went from California to Connecticut. Apparently, in Connecticut, a home warranty is not a traditional thing. That's part of the sale that the seller provides. I specifically asked for a warranty because I know how valuable they are. My main concerns were the major systems in my house. American Home Shield does cover HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. But it is twice the price as my other one, and they covered everything. On the other hand, AHS doesn't cover my appliances and it's a lot less coverage for what I pay for. The total cost was $150 more, but it's for less coverage. And the cost to have somebody come out is double.
Since I bought the house, the supply line from the valve to the toilet, wasn't tightened. It’s a compression fitting. The plumber came out, and he had to turn it four times. And I had a leak from my second floor through my main floor, all the way to my basement, and went through my kitchen. So, I called AHS. They're involved now. And water abatement came out and began the process. This is going to be huge because it has been leaking for almost a year now. And I never knew it because there was no water on the floor. It was just following the pipe, right down through the hole.
So I'm expecting to get a new kitchen. My cabinets and my wood floors underneath are probably all damaged. And I'm assuming that it's all gonna have to get replaced. The plumber that came out to my house said to keep AHS, and that they're worth their weight in gold and they're awesome. He said there's a waitlist to get with them. I found that hard to believe. So, he seems to think that they're great but he also has a contract with them. But I liked him a lot. AHS though is overpriced. I just think that their pricing is not as competitive it could be.

Getting the service for the washer and the refrigerator was a problem. I asked for that together and American Home Shield said it would be on the same ticket because it was the same technician. It turned out that for some reason, initially, the washer was not on the ticket with the refrigerator. So, I had to call back in. The people in the call center do not speak English very well at all. I've worked in insurance for a long time, so we spoke to people in call centers in different places. I’m not unfamiliar with working with people in different places but this girl was terrible. She could not get it out of her head that I had a Whirlpool refrigerator. I was on hold for five minutes while apparently, she called Whirlpool. I said that she needed to stop talking about a Whirlpool refrigerator because it’s a GE refrigerator and I need to have this on the same ticket as my washer.
The girl said that the only thing she could do was cancel the ticket for the refrigerator and then reschedule it with someone else for both of the tickets. So, the person who originally was assigned for the service lost out because she couldn't do anything to get the tickets together. But the guy came out with both of the appliances. Everything was fine except I got a text message from the original place that it was scheduled that I shouldn't forget that I have an appointment with them tomorrow. So, she didn't cancel that appointment. It was very difficult working with her but scheduling it myself online seemed like an easy process. I don't know what happened that the two appliances got dropped but trying to get that fixed was a pain in the butt.
I had to have somebody out here to look at my air conditioner on Monday and they were very nice. They were prompt and they got the problem fixed right away. I was very happy with that. The guy who came out to look at both of my appliances yesterday was very nice too. I was sad that he couldn't fix my washer because I liked that washer but that's the way it is.

The contractor handled the plumbing problem and everything was resolved. The gentlemen who came out the last time were great. As I'm learning, anything could go wrong in the house and I’m not prepared for the little things. So it's good to have American Home Shield for the “just in case.”

If I lose American Home Shield, I'm in the mountains. I was very happy with it. The top stove on the double stove would not bake. It would just boil and toast. So, the guy looked at it and realized that it was a blown or malfunctioning board. He put a different motherboard back in and since then, the stove has been working great. This is the only claim we have with AHS but we probably broke about even making this claim. So, we would continue doing it for the next year. But we'll see when we're up which is in a couple of months.

I had a leaking toilet. The tech was very polite and professional. He allowed me to explain to him the things that I've witnessed as part of the problem. Right away, he was able to identify the problem and take care of it. I've also had refrigerator done before through AHS and I was 100% happy with that. With the warranty, I don't have to pay a plumber $105 to come out when I pay 75 to have someone come out and fix it.

AHS is great. Every time we've got a problem, they’ve come out and fixed it. The refrigerator kept kicking off and on recently. The tech came out and checked it, and then the next day, he came back with a thermostat, replaced it, and it seemed to be working fine now. He was really polite, professional, and a good guy. He did a good job. It went real smoothly. He came out really fast and took care of the problem.

American Home Shield is a good deal. I called them recently and told them that I had a problem with the air conditioner. Within a reasonable time after that, the air conditioner people called us. They told us when they would come, and they came. They said there was a part that they had to order, and they would call when it came in. Within a week, the part came in. They came over and did their job. We're very satisfied with the contractor. American Home Shield did exactly what I want them to do. I understood the way it was gonna happen, and it did. We’re very pleased with them and we'll renew the policy next year.

The AC has been functioning but the board underneath the air conditioning unit was getting soaked. I called the air conditioning people before I called American Home Shield. They sent somebody out and the first person said they couldn't do it because it looked like a pipe problem. So, I called AHS back and I told them. They wanted a second opinion. So, they had somebody else come out and they went with the second opinion. The piping was blocked up, and the guy switched it and it made it go down. The guy was courteous and professional.

I've had this U-Line icemaker that hasn't worked since January. The guy from All Out Appliance, Justin, was nice but he didn’t know much about it at all. He called a friend of his who works on them and talked to him. Justin tried everything and worked hard on it. This last call, he said he switched out the water valve but maybe I misunderstood that. When a different company came out to fix my icemaker in the refrigerator and the freezer, the guy took a look at it for and he said the water valve hasn't been changed out. He showed me all the dust on it and he cleaned off the coils around it and said that that needed to be replaced. It looks like this company is fine and gonna be able to fix it. But I’m into All Out Appliance or into American Home Shield for over $400 now for the repair. Which if it was a bad water valve from the get-go, should have been fixed for $100 the first call.
I called American Home Shield and I said that I should not have to pay $100 for each call when the guy comes out and it hasn't been fixed. They said that it’s because it's a different part or it's a different diagnosis. I said that it's not a different diagnosis because I told them from the beginning that it wasn't working. I'm ready to have it fixed and be done with the whole thing because it's seven months going into August. It's a little excessive.
I noticed that AHS covers freestanding icemakers and other home warranty companies don't. So, I'm happy with that. But from what I've experienced talking with people that don't use a home warranty system and call contractors out to work on their appliances and pay whatever price they have to pay, that the people they call are, in some cases, more competent and more reliable companies than going through a home warranty company. I've got a bad taste now for home warranty companies in general but that also has to do with our house being only five years old. I was a little disappointed to see that the icemaker stopped working after only five years.

AHS picked an incompetent air conditioning expert, called Quick AC out of Orlando. They came out and determined that the compressor was bad. They made me wait in 100-degree weather for almost a week and a half. They came out and replaced it, but they let some wires hang on the copper tubing, the hot end of the copper tubing, that goes to the compressor unshielded, which, within a few days, burning a hole into the copper tubing and let all the Freon out. I had to pay $400 for the Freon, to begin with. I didn't want them to come out again because they did such shoddy work.
AHS picked another contractor who came out and welded the hole and moved the wire somewhat away from where it was arcing. Then I had to pay for that Freon, even though AHS picked the incompetent worker who blew it the first place. Then now we're working with a compressor that was running on with no Freon for a while. Then about four days later, in my office, I heard a loud noise, and I went outside. The compressor stopped working. I had to call AHS again. I paid another $100. It’s like $300 now.
World Class came out and determined that the compressor was now totally bad. But it was still under warranty with AHS. So, then I waited another week and a half in the hot 90-degree weather with asthma and being 70 years old. They came out and brought the other compressor to replace the one that got broken and fixed it and moved the wires away from it, did a good job insulating it. This World Class did a world-class job.
They said that, also, the coils needed to be cleaned and some other stuff they noticed. However, when it's 95 degrees outside, it still gets up to 88 degrees inside. So, it doesn't cool down until the nighttime. I had to pay again for Freon. I paid, so far, $1,200 of Freon because of shoddy work done by Quick AC. I had to pay $100 for each time everybody came back. It cost me almost $1,500 and it should only cost me $100 the first time. So, I'm in the process of thinking of suing because that's the only way I'm gonna get my money back for the Freon. I didn’t pick the contractor. AHS did.
I also had several calls to come out to fix my dryer. They came out and replaced fuses. I kept telling them the fuses keep popping. Then miraculously, the dryer works for four loads. Then, boom, no more heat. Then they’d come out again, replaced the fuses. Then five loads, boom. No heat. Right now, I have a dryer with no heat. Each time they came out, I had spent 100 bucks on it. I have an air conditioner that doesn't work if the temperature gets above 90 outside, ‘cause inside it comes 88. Supposed to be a 10 to 15-degree difference and it’s only a 2-degree difference. I'm thankful for the Lord when it's cloudy out or when we get a thunderstorm because then it cools the attic off. I don't know why it's doing that. Nobody can figure it out. None of the contractors could figure out why it gets hot.
AHS is good at claim support and getting somebody out here. But they're very bad at picking people that know what they're doing. Three in every four people they pick don't know what they're doing. Each one tried to sell me a new air conditioning system. So, their hearts are not in repairing. Their hearts are in trying to sell me something new.

Our air conditioning unit had gone out a couple months ago and AHS had a technician come out but the technician couldn't figure it out. The AC unit started running again then it went back out again. The guys that we had come out had to come out three different times to figure out what exactly was wrong with it. But they finally got it working and had to replace a circuit board on it. They were phenomenal and now, we're up and running. I've had an AC claim last summer and this summer and I've also had my refrigerator repaired thru AHS when we first moved in. Everyone's been super good to deal with. The cost savings of having AHS is huge. It's $100 deductible and there's an annual fee but if you compare that to what it would cost to pay out of pocket for something like that, it definitely pays for itself.

I called American Home Shield because there was a leak. The techs that came out were very nice and professional. However, the last couple of claims haven't been very good. They've sent out people that were unqualified. They sent out a garage door company to check my garage door opener. The guy gave me all these big old estimates about what needed to be done. Said that the springs had to be repaired, the springs need to be replaced and I knew he was lying. Then, the last time they sent out an electrical company, the guy did nothing. He said, "Oh, you had a surge." And he left. He didn't write up anything on the paperwork. With these two claims, I had to call back and I was told, "If this other company comes up with the same assessment as the first one, you're going to get charged another fee." So, not good.
The people I communicate with when I call in and often the people that they send out have English as a Second Language, so it's often hard to communicate. I assume they have call centers in the Philippines. So they're always very polite, but they're also very hard to understand. When they sent out the electrician, he spoke almost no English. He spoke Armenian. We couldn't communicate with him. He didn't have a clue what we were saying and we didn't have a clue what he was saying.

American Home Shield is very convenient and effective. It's a great way to find a handyman. I recently called them for the dryer that wasn't heating. A technician came and changed some fuses and the heating component. I can do my laundry now.

It was easy to get through and schedule the request. The agent came and he rekeyed four locks. He was very professional. We just bought the house and we don't know who else has keys. The previous owner had given us one key originally. And I reached out to the previous owner, and I was able to get an additional four keys from her for the door. So I don't know, they’re 6, 10. But to know that my family's safe and that nobody can enter the house whenever they choose, rekeying was important to us.
I later found out, just going to Ace Hardware, that they actually sell a $15 kit that you can do it yourself. Need to pay $100 versus doing a $15 deal, and you could rekey up to six different key holes or locks. I would have done that, as opposed to paying the $100 deductible to get the rekey done. Obviously, it was done by a professional, but in this YouTube age, anything is possible. And I'm not dealing with the last people. It's just simple, follow the instructions and you'll be able to do it. So if I think about it that way, obviously, there's no benefit. We initially thought that it was covered as part of the American Home Shield program, and there wasn't any additional cost. And that, we were a little discouraged. A simple thing like that should have been covered. But my wife was happy that it was available. So, we went with it, and we're satisfied with the work.

I submitted a claim for my washer that wasn't spinning on a Friday or Saturday and a repairman was at my house by Tuesday. I was a little cold off because I did read some bad reviews about the company itself online and there was a little bit of lack in communication. He told me he was coming one day and I got off work early to go home but he never showed up. He finally replied the next morning saying he had a family issue. But he was wonderful. He came that very next day after that, and he was in and out in no time.
Since I've had American Home Shield, I've had my refrigerator and my garbage disposal go wrong. It's worth it to be able to go to one place I can schedule service calls or whatever may be wrong, and American Home Shield already has these relationships with these vendors that do all these repairs so I love it. I don't have to go searching for repair places for all the appliances.

I've only had two claims with American Home Shield and both have been fine. I usually call my claims in so I can tell people what's wrong. Recently, the freezer part of the refrigerator was not freezing. The tech said it happens often in these appliances. He knew exactly what to do. They had to order the part, and they did it in a timely fashion. He came, put it in, and it's working. Everything is wonderful.

I submitted a claim for our refrigerator that was having problems and couldn't be fixed, and a contractor came out one or two days later. American Home Shield replaced the refrigerator and saved me money. I liked it all except I had to pay for the new refrigerator upfront then had to wait a month and a half for them to reimburse what they offered me for it. Oher than that, it was great.

The tech that was assigned to repair something on our recent claim was a very knowledgeable young man. We felt comfortable being around him. He was very professional and he knows what he's doing. We’ve used American Home Shield for 24 years and I feel good about their service. It's nice to know that they will send someone out and repair what needs to be repaired. The service fee is a set fee. Even though we spend quite a bit each month, considering what they’ve had to do over the years, it has been cost-effective or either broken even. But it’s comforting to know that they're there if we need them.
Sometimes, they would send somebody that we didn't feel comfortable about. After looking up about them, they didn't always have the best technicians that they sent out. But Jones Electronics is tops. They have been here several times over the year, and they’re probably our favorite of the companies that AHS uses. They fixed our Sub-Zero refrigerator, and did not have to get a new one. We bought the house 24 years ago, and it was already in the house when we bought it. The tech had to put in a new compressor. Jones Electric seemed to know their business. We like it when AHS sends them. When they were gonna send somebody else, I called and requested Jones Electric because I felt like they would do a better job.

We had a ceiling fan and a light fixture that didn’t work. Then we had outlets that were non-functional due to a moist GFI. We liked the technician a lot. He was very competent and professional. He got the job done quickly.

American Home Shield was very responsive and they got someone out when my garbage disposal wasn't working and I thought it was broken. They sent out a plumber who inspected the garbage disposal and it was fine. American Home Shield then sent out C & M Electrical Service and they were excellent. The tech analyzed the problem and said that the outlet or socket where the garbage disposal was was dead. He was able to fix it right away. I got my home warranty in 2009 and in the beginning, some of the vendors or contractors that were used were late in responding or getting back to me. But with American Home Shield, everything has been good.

We discovered that the fuses in the AC had been reversed. The 30 amp was in the place of a 60 amp and vice versa. Another problem was the AC was making a bang as it started up. The repairman told me he checked the gas and the amp draw. They look okay and could last a long time but they could do nothing unless the unit goes completely out. It's working fine now. There's just some noise when it starts but the fuse problem was corrected so I’m happy. I have peace of mind with my home warranty.

AHS' service has been fine. When Element come out recently, it went very well. They were very professional. They got to the problem quickly and were on time. In fact, they were a little bit early. It was great. They solved my problem and got me back in business. I also used the rekeying thing. I also had an electrician come out because the dryer wouldn't work. I thought they had blown the plug. But it's all gone pretty well. AHS has been very good. I have recommended it.

I had some leaking faucets in my bathroom. It was in the sink faucet and the bathtub faucet. I had one part of it fixed already and I feel good about that. However, my bathtub faucet is not up to code so the techs can't technically fix it. I'm going to redo it. American Home Shield will give me X amount of money towards that and I'm still waiting on that part. I haven't interacted with my home warranty much but everything had been good when I did.

Our AC was not cooling. We have had that problem with it previously. It had gone past where you put the AC Freon, it wasn't coded anymore. It was not cooling at all and it was putting off some odor. So, they replaced it. The techs were amazing. The whole process took just a day and a half. We've been very pleased with AHS.

I submitted a request for the dryer and they were pretty prompt about it. The tech from Unique Appliance gave me a good 40-minute call in advance to let me know what his ETA was, which was extremely helpful. But he didn't have the needed part on hand. I knew the issue and I had written it down in the service request, so I don't know why they didn't have the part but it's fine. He had to come out a second time and he was quick and prompt. He got everything resolved.

I had a leaky regulator on the water main coming into the house. The tech came out here very quickly, assessed the issue, gave me an update of what was going on and what the plan was to address it. It was all resolved in the same day. I'm happy with American Home Shield's service.

The first time I called American Home Shield, I was having an issue with my air conditioning unit. I told them I thought there was an issue with the air and with the thermostat. Two guys came out. I guess they were junior technicians. They didn't do too much and didn't change out filters. I didn't even realize they changed out the thermostat. They didn't really tell me anything. One of them was like, “Oh, if it’s not working within a couple of weeks, then just call us back.” About a week and a half ago, it stopped working. It wouldn't get cool at all. On a Thursday, I called AHS and put another claim in. A guy came that Monday. He was very knowledgeable. He figured out it was just a small issue that he had to exchange out. It took him all of 10 minutes.
Sometimes, when I call AHS, some of the reps are not as knowledgeable. I've called before, and one young lady was telling me that my contract was totally different. I understand that sometimes when we're working on something, we may not be as knowledgeable. My thing is for someone not to give me misinformed information. Sometimes, you might have to put somebody on hold. I would rather you put me on hold and tell me, “Hey, let me check with somebody.” As a matter of fact, my card had changed. My payments come out automatically. I told the guy that I had spoke to right before that, “I don't want there to be an issue with my payment.”
Sure enough, my information wasn't updated. I probably wouldn't even be able to do the call in and do the claim again because it said that I had missed a payment. So I told the young lady, “If you don't understand, just let me know and that's fine. You can put me on hold. But I don't want to think that my payment is gonna go through for this month and it didn't go through.” I was a little annoyed by that. If you're not knowledgeable about something, it's okay. Just get somebody that can answer the question. We all don't know every answer to every question. If you have the resources to utilize or ask somebody for help, I would rather you do that than give me an incorrect answer.
I've been with AHS since 2017 when I moved here to Virginia, and my contract has changed about five times. I asked for something if it's covered, they told me it was covered. Then when I called in for a claim, it wasn't covered. I had to pay a difference in the contract. Then I had to wait into the contract to be renewed. So, I would make sure everything that weren't covered under the contract is documented. I had to threaten to leave them several times because that's been annoying. AHS should make sure that their reps are very knowledgeable, and that they're telling you absolutely what is covered under your contract. There are just certain things for American Home Shield to work on, but I’ll still recommend them.

My washing machine was leaking. The contractor came out the next day. He was amazing. He ordered me a part. And within four days, he already called me back and said that it was ready. He installed it that day, and it worked out perfect. I wish I could have the same company for every single thing that we do. The first guy, there was something wrong with my sink. He ordered me a part for my sink. And then, when I called them back to let them know that the part came, they never came back. So, I ended up installing it. And then, my dishwasher, it took forever for them. I had to email them back twice to say, “Hey, the part’s never come.” So, about six weeks later, my dishwasher, I finally got to use again. I'm not too happy. I don't feel I should pay $100 for a claim when I'm installing the part myself. I’m sure that company got paid for their job, but they didn't do anything. I'm not 100% satisfied with it.
Also, when you call to get help, a lot of times the reps are not speaking English very clear and it's very hard to understand. And it would be nice just to be able to explain something and both of us understand what's going on. There's a gap between what I would call it and what they would call it. Because they live in a different country. So, it's not like the person is not helpful. It’s not all the same. Like when I was trying to explain my sink, they were not understanding what I was trying to explain to them about the handle that comes out. And it was rough.

Kevin, the guy that does service through American Home Shield, came out the first time when I made the first complaint. He put a fan on the unit and within a month, it broke again. But from the time it broke, it was over the 30 days so I had to go back in again. He came out, put the fan back on it, and said that it needed an electricity guy. I told him if I called American Home Shield, it was gonna take a while putting the order in. He recommend somebody else and I asked how much it would be for them to come out and fix the problem. They came out and fixed the problem but that wasn't the problem.
I called Kevin back, and he said it was already too late for him to turn around and come back out there. He’s a very nice guy but I feel like if you got somebody working for you, you should have some kind of courtesy, and you need to come back that same day if the problem wasn’t fixed especially if you recommended somebody that you knew. I called somebody else to come and look at it. He thought that it was the motor too. I didn't have them to work on it but in some kind of way, we got air then it went right back off again. Kevin came out on Monday, worked hard and fixed it. He just upset me that day when he couldn’t turn around and come back.
I called American Home Shield to see what they could do. Miss smarty pants on the telephone was who I got upset with. She couldn’t help me. She said, "You still have another case open. If we send somebody out there, that would be another charge.” I told her we’ve been in this heat for so many days and she told me there was nothing she could do about it. I asked if we could speak to a manager but she couldn't do anything about it too. She said she'd get back in touch with me between 24 and 48 hours. She was very rude on the phone. She almost made me cancel the whole plan.

The air conditioner was clogged and the whole system was leaking at one side. The techs were able to solve the problem the same day. Some of the other contractors that you look up sometimes have a little bit lower rating. But the last two have been good so I don't have any complaints at all.

I was with American Home Shield last year and I discontinued it. It got frustrating with the vendors. I had a vendor that had an appointment and he told us that he was running late. He called and asked if he could come in the morning and I said yes but he never showed up. But I signed up and I ended up having to call someone last week. I complained about this vendor to American Home Shield because I had this bad experience over and over. They had to come out so many times until you end up getting someone else. But this time, this particular vendor was early and courteous, and he fixed the problem. I told him that this was refreshing. I'm used to them being late and it was nice for a change, and he didn't take long to do it.
If you don’t want to shell out a whole lot of money if something breaks down, a home warranty is important. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t have gotten it because I had it when I first purchased my home but I didn’t start it back up. I started getting these things in the mail and I talked to some people who had them, and I started it back up. I had a little sour taste in my mouth with what happened the first time but AHS has redeemed themselves and hopefully, there are no issues. I had AC issues and I put in the service request online. Considering it was hot, every HVAC person is very busy. The vendor still got there within a reasonable amount time considering the service.
AHS is a little pricey and each service request is 100 bucks but compared to paying for a whole new appliance, it’s a lot cheaper. The higher your premium is, the lower the service request. And you try to keep it reasonable so that you can afford it so, you end up with the higher call fee. That’s the only thing that I don’t care for and hopefully, anytime I have a problem in the future I’m going to get a good vendor and I won’t have any more issue.

The refrigerator door was not sealing properly and we were having issues with the ice maker that came unhinged. The tech did the seal the first day, then he said he needed to order the bolts for the ice maker, and he was true to his word. Within a week, he contacted me, came out, and took care of the ice maker a week later. Everything has been working great since then and I'd give him the highest ranking. I'm also satisfied with AHS. Their claims process seemed to be efficient.

I've had problems with AHS in the past, but the last couple of experiences have been fine. I also used AHS, previously, in another house for quite a few years. I submitted a claim recently because the base of the garbage disposal was leaking a ton of water into the cabinetry, and all the bottles and dish soap were all flooded below that. Before the technician came out, I was notified of his name, who to expect, and the day and time that he would be here. He was nice, professional, wore a mask, seemed to know exactly what needed to be done. The repairs were completed and it's working well.

Our microwave had a whole bunch of rust and a burn spot. Sometimes it sparks when we turn it on. AHS called Appliance Guy to look at it. The first lady I spoke with was just giving us the runaround. And then, I had to make an appointment with The Appliance Guy. The tech was pretty good. He checked the microwave out and then looked at the oven which we haven't called for. He said the previous owners had put foil underneath it and that stuck to the oven. He also said they were going to look for a replacement for the microwave. However, they couldn't find one that fits into the wall where we have it. Also, I thought American Home Shield would replace my microwave for me and do all the labor of putting in and all those other measurements. I am by myself and I have nobody to help me do that. So, I have to pay somebody else to do that for me.

The garage door opener wasn't working correctly. The door wouldn't close. But then the few times that it would, it would just pop back open. So, I was afraid it would happen when I'm away from home. That was by the end of the day to set up something. And the contractor said, “We’re going to try to squeeze you in the next day," which was Friday, "instead of making it wait over the weekend.” And they were able to do that. The tech troubleshooted everything and he had to adjust the sensors and something else. He was professional and polite, didn't leave a mess and everything was wonderful. Whatever it was, he fixed it. Because the service request went through American Home Shield, it got quicker attention from the company that provided the service. Because sometimes you call someplace and they would say, “Well, we can't get to you until next week.” And they were just all over it.

I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth with American Home Shield. Every time I have something wrong with me, I'm coming out thousands of dollars' worth of repair and the issues are not covered. So I'm paying for services that are being rendered. For example, I had a contractor that came out early June for the AC and they said they needed a part. I'm still waiting for that part and it's gonna be $1,000. So, this is our frustration. I'm paying for the service, but every time something goes down, I got to pay $100 out of pocket before the contractor can even come. Then the minimum information is provided when they do come out.
The technician told me that he could put antifreeze in the AC until the part comes in, which was fine. I appreciate that. The he said, "But by the way, that's something that is gonna cost you $1,000 to get that." Who has $1,000 during a pandemic? The thing is is that I've got to put out thousands of dollars and American Home Shield pays for nothing. Then I get minimum service. I pay every month hundreds of dollars for the service that I'm putting in this every month. But when something goes down, American Home Shield pays for nothing. So I'm really frustrated with this. It's awful service. I'm not really happy with American Home Shield. They care nothing about their employees and about a pandemic and just situations.

I was a little disappointed that American Home Shield didn't cover my sprinkler control when it got hit by lightning. It was in the garage. But the contractor did a good job. And then, the AC fan broke. It made a real loud noise. It still works, but the noise was horrific. We had to turn it off. The contractor had to come back the next day because he didn't have the part. But I had good luck with AHS. The techs pretty much fixed everything we had wrong except that sprinkler controller. AHS fixed the AC several times. They also unstopped a couple of sinks, fixed the dishwasher and replaced the microwave.

The microwave was triggering the breaker to pop when we tried to use it. The techs that came had everything they needed and were able to fix it right on the spot. The microwave is working great now. American Home Shield offers a variety of services and the cost per month is pretty reasonable. They're also pretty quick on assigning a repair person to whatever the need is that we had.

American Home Shield is great. If you need to have something replaced, you don't have to worry about putting out thousands of dollars at once. Recently, our AC was kicking on, but it was not cooling. The tech got here quick, and he was very professional. It was awesome. He got to the root of the problem immediately, and all we needed was Freon in the AC. I was shocked about the efficiency of how it was fixed. My neighbor's AC is out too, but they don’t have a home warranty. They called a company called ARS. ARS came out, put a new air condition in, but it’s not working. My neighbors still don’t have AC. They sent it back and now, they’re getting one from our electric company that hopefully will work. On the other hand, ours is kicking.

There was an issue with my AC. A & R came out and fixed the motor. It was leaking from the overflow from the condensation. The way the original guy that came out explained to me was that he wasn't sure what the issue was, so he didn't do anything but he thought it was a plumbing issue. It was still leaking, so I called out a plumber. When the plumber came out, he said, "No, no, no. That's AC." So, I got back in touch with American Home Shield. They sent out Air Pro Masters for the plumbing and A & R for the AC. They sent that same guy back out. He went up and realize what it was. He said that he had not seen it like that. He'd known about the condensations, but in most of the homes that he had dealt with, the condensation would do a runoff off the roof and not inside the garage. So once he realized what it was, he fixed it. He blew out the line, and then replaced some line. Before he left, the leak had stopped.
I spoke to a representative from AHS and said, "I'm paying two $75 fees here, when originally, the first guy should have fixed the problem." She got off the line. She went and talk to somebody. She said that I was gonna get my $75 back because I shouldn't have to pay for the second service fee. I had an issue once a long time ago with a dishwasher, and I kept getting all these service fees but because whoever was coming out didn't fix the problem right. They finally got it fixed and I got a new dishwasher. The one that they were offering me was a little bit lower grade than what I wanted. My issue has always been that they will send somebody out and send me a list of products that I can choose from. I don't expect them to offer the highest grade products, but the secondary product that they sent me for my washing machine was an upgrade from what I had in there. So, I was fine with it.
When I call AHS, I don't get a lot of runaround. The only time I had an issue was when my hot water heater went out and it was cheaper for me to get my son to go get a hot water heater and put it in for me. But other than that, I don't really have any issues with the company. I've had them for 13 years, and most of the time when I called them, they've sent somebody out. The people would come right out and fix the problem. Would I recommend American Home Shield? I would.

Our garage door wasn't opening, and the repairman fixed it in no time. It was great, and I really appreciate American Home Shield's service. It worked out great for us, so far. The service fee was all I had to pay and the home warranty paid the rest of it. That gave me a definite amount that I had to pay, and the uncertainty of it is gone.

We're getting ready to sell our home so we had a check on the furnace. The inspector found that there was a cracked housing in the air box and we had to have that fixed. Somebody came and took care of it. He had to order the part but other than that, it was handled very well. With a home warranty, there's the safety of having somebody there to help out.

American Home Shield's customer service is very hard to get ahold of sometimes. I had one issue last year where it took a month to get a part and stuff fixed. Once something is in motion, there's nothing you can do to hurry something on. I put in another claim when my system wasn't cooling. Best Care was my contractor and they did a great job. They found a small leak and put some more Freon in the unit.

Our tenant called and told us that the AC system wasn't cooling the house. We contacted our property manager to send someone out there because it was an emergency. They told us that it was leaking and it'd need replacement. So, I submitted the claim through American Home Shield and May Heating went out there. They diagnosed it with the same issue and that there's water or some kind of oil which needed to be replaced. They were very professional and able to get my tenants in before the date that they said they would.
With AHS, filing the claim was a simple process because all I had to do was go in their website and put in what was going on. And I was able to get someone right away. Even though the appointment wasn't next day, they assigned a company right away. But we had to come out of pocket for it. If they don't cover a certain thing, they should have said that upfront, as far as the AC units goes. And I didn't know that there was an approval process. Once May uploaded the report, it had to go to somewhere else for revision and approval. But other than that, this is their third time going out and they fixed the issues.

My AC wasn't working. I would turn it on and we would hear a little loud noise outside and no cold air would come out from the vents. The techs took care of the issue. They were quick. American Home Shield has been good, too. We called them during the weekend and the techs showed up the next day. I would recommend AHS. This was our first claim and the service was great.

A technician from Sears came out when my washing machine had a leak. He was here when he said he was supposed to be there. He checked the unit out and changed a cold water valve on it. He resolved the problem. For this one instance, there was a timely response on the assignment of a technician.

American Home Shield is good when I call for some repairs. Anytime I've ever had any plumbing problems, they've always used After Hours Plumbing. With my recent plumbing claim, the repairman seemed like he knew what he was doing. He said that he thought it was coming from the overflow valve from the bathtub where water was running down into my bathroom downstairs. He said that they would send somebody to repair that hole in the ceiling that had to be cut open. I'm waiting on a call or something to be done with that. Also, I had some electrical stuff done and we still can't use the microwave that came with the house. Whenever we do, it shuts off power in certain areas in the house. We have a microwave sitting there that we can't use which I wish I could because it would give me a little bit more counter space in my kitchen.

For our garage opener claim with AHS, the tech said there was a spring broken. He said now these parts are not available. So he said he would try to find a part and as soon as he would get it, he'd come and fix it and he did. He did a really good job. However, when I took a contract with AHS, I thought each service payment fee is only 75. But when I created an incident, I was charged $100.

I had some plumbing issues and halfway through the company that we hired fixing it, we remembered we had American Home Shield. We had the company we hired do the portion they were working on then we had American Home Shield's plumber come out and finish the work. I waited a week and a half for American Home Shield to call me to schedule them to come out and fix the problem. In the meantime, I had told them to use my number because my husband is on call 24/7. Most of the jobs he goes on, he can't have his phone on him and he's out of service. They never even put my number in the system. Apparently, they had been calling my husband's phone. When I finally spoke to somebody at the company that they sent, they were totally cool about everything and updated everything in the system.
I was trying to talk to somebody at American Home Shield and the first girl I spoke to told me one thing. I had already asked to speak to somebody about getting reimbursed for some work we had done. That's not how the process works, but I wanted to talk to somebody. But nobody called me back. I called again and spoke to her again. When I talked to her again, she kind of backtracked. I requested to speak to a supervisor and she told me I could not speak to a supervisor. I went around with her then she allegedly placed the call for a supervisor to call me.
The last person I talked to from American Home Shield apologized for everything. She was very professional and set up a call for somebody to call me back. Somebody still never called me back but she updated my number in the system. The people American Home Shield has sent out to do the repairs have been great but I'm upset that nobody's ever called me back to discuss my issues.

I had a button that kept falling off the stove. The techs fixed that on the same day they came. They fixed my dishwasher too which had racks that kept falling down. They replaced the parts and it's like brand new. So, I'm happy and very satisfied. AHS has been the good warranty. Out of every one I have, with them usually everything gets approved.

I had a problem with the air conditioner numerous times over the last year. The last claim I had for it was a clogged drain line. So the contractor came and unclogged the drain line and it's working fine. But the first time I had an issue with the air conditioner, the guy who was fixing it had the part and we had to wait two weeks to get the air conditioner fixed because American Home Shield decided to ship the compressor from wherever they get it. It wasn't nice in the middle of the summer to not have your air conditioning for two weeks. Other than that one time with the compressor, I had no complaints at all with American Home Shield. The only reason I discontinued the service was because we sold the house.

Our whole house was stopped up and nothing would drain. Third Generation Plumbing came out and they snaked it. But we couldn't use our toilets or showers for almost two days because American Home Shield couldn't get somebody out here right away. They should open up their places they use to do their claims.

It takes forever and a day to get anything done and sometimes, AHS doesn't send the best people to do the job. I had my electricity went out here and they sent out two kids. One of them was a trainee and the other one couldn’t have been any more than 20 years old. Their diagnosis was wrong. I called AHS and said I want a second opinion. That’s when they sent JLM and the tech diagnosed it. He knew what he was talking about and he fixed it. I also had a plumbing thing done. They sent a guy out that wasn’t very good, but he finished the job so it was okay.

The website of AHS is user-friendly. I submitted a claim because the igniter was out on the oven. There were two different guys that came out and they were both great. One guy came out and did the analysis. Then one guy came and fixed when the part came in. It works now. AHS is a good service to have if you have an old home.

The initial issue was my refrigerator and freezer stopped working. I went in online, and I put in the issues with my refrigerator and icemaker. The first vendor that I called told me it would be September before they could come out to my house and check my refrigerator. I immediately called American Home Shield back and they gave me Peerless. AHS sent me an email. I received the call from Peerless and the lady that I spoke to was very polite and professional. She asked me what were the issues I was having and I told her. Peerless told me they would send somebody out in the next two weeks. She sent the technician out. The technician looked at the refrigerator. That was the first time. He did a diagnosis and ordered parts.
A week later, they came back out, made an attempt to put the parts on them but found out that if he would have looked further, he would have seen that the compressor was bad. I shouldn't be the one to say, “You need to check for our compressor.” He should’ve checked the compressors first. So, I've been without a refrigerator for almost a month. I'm thinking of coming out of pocket and buying one. He told me that the refrigerator is unrepairable. He said that it would cost more to repair the refrigerator than what the refrigerator is actually worth. But if anything happens to anything in my house, as long as I have AHS, Peerless will be the company that I recommend to anybody. They did a great job. Also, AHS has been on point every step of the way. That’s the exact way to do business.

Everything's been going well with American Home Shield. The website's designed well. It's easy to use. There were a few issues with getting somebody out to fix our AC unit in a timely fashion but the people I spoke with at the company were able to handle that and even gave me the option to switch providers if need be, so I felt satisfied. Another person came to check on our electric. Everybody was good and honest. They were able to resolve them.

Our air conditioner was running nonstop and it was leaking. It was not getting really cold. The guy who came found out that there was a clogged drain and some ducts weren’t open. He unclogged the drain and opened two of the ducts. It feels cool in the house lately but the AC seems to still run a lot. Other than that, having American Home Shield is convenient. When I have an issue, I call them. Repair people come and fix whatever is messed up for a monthly set price.

It has been a little difficult to get through to AHS's website when I'm trying to find out what's covered or not but it's been okay. My garbage disposal was clogged and was not functioning correctly. The contractor was awesome. They were responsive and they communicated well. They told me when they were going to be here and sent me a list of what was going on. I recommend AHS. They cover all my basic needs for all of my basic appliances that break down.

The AC unit was blowing warm air on Friday night. The thermostat in my bedroom was up to 82 degrees, even though the air conditioner was set at 76. So I put in an order online, and the first technician that AHS assigned to us was a company called Comfort Pro. I then called Comfort Pro to see if someone could come on Saturday, and the tape recording said they won't open till Monday.
We have had AHS for over 20 years and I understand that a lot of their technicians don't have the greatest reviews, but also, only unhappy people tend to leave reviews as opposed to happy people. I looked at Comfort Pro's reviews and I have never seen such negative reviews for a company, especially in the last two months.
The last review that I saw was posted literally the day before. It was horrible. So I called AHS and spoke to a lovely customer service person, her name was Deborah, and I told her that I will not let this technician into the house. She said she understands, and since my payment hadn't been put through, it was easy for her to negate that. She put in for a new work order, and then Central Jersey Heating and Cooling came up. The technician was absolutely fabulous. He showed up Saturday and explained he works on Saturdays, and he knew what the problem was almost instantly. He replaced the part. He was terrific. I highly recommend him.
Submitting the claim is a simple thing to get through if you do it online. But when I called AHS, I had to wait for 45 minutes before I spoke to someone. It's a lengthy process. I've had AHS for over 20 years. Some of our experience has been really good but some hasn't been great. But on the whole, AHS is something that we have to keep because it makes it easier for us to get work people.
Since we initially took out the policy 20 years ago, a lot has changed and AHS restructured the policies in the last few years so that there are limits on things. We changed our policy to a platinum policy on our renewal day. I have a Thermador Built-in Refrigerator and under the policy that we had before, the maximum amount that AHS would give us towards a new refrigerator was $4,000. A refrigerator like mine now costs between 11,000 and 12,000. Under the new policy, AHS will give us $6,000. Interestingly enough, I pay $2 less a month for the new policy, and I'm getting better coverage.
We replaced our hot water heater a few months ago before the new policy, and we were absolutely lied to. Before we replaced the hot water heater, we spoke to someone and we had everything annotated. We were told that if we got our own contractor to put in a new hot water heater since the person that AHS sent couldn't get the model that we wanted, then AHS will reimburse us between 1000 and 1100. But at the end of the day, they gave us $525, and there was absolutely no one that we could speak to that would budge even though we were told it would be 1000 to 1100. It was not a great experience.

American Home Shield sent the air conditioner people out today but the AC has been fixed a week ago. I have to do the claim for the refrigerator again and sit on the phone for 30 minutes. We put the claim in two weeks ago and the guy who came out was with some company, and he didn't know squat. So, the AC was still having a problem that blew a circuit breaker. We called again and got Quality Air out here who serviced us before and they fixed it. The refrigerator guy was supposed to come out today between 8:00 and 12:00 and nobody's coming to fix the refrigerator.
By having AHS, I can make a phone call and they usually fix it. But the last two months, it seems like they are a whole different company. I don't know what's going on. It also takes forever to get in to get to talk to somebody and then, they don't take the information right. It sounds like there are all kinds of noises behind them where I can't hear them. I'm 100% disabled vet and I have hearing issues also. So, it seems to be an effort to deal with them. Especially when I've been waiting for a month and a half to have somebody come out and fix my refrigerator.

I had the plumbing came out and they fixed the toilet. My issue was the refrigerator. The service guy came out and he said he had to order the part, and that was on the first of June. But that part has not been ordered yet and the service has not been completed. I'm satisfied with AHS. It's just every now and then, things don't fall through. I don't think it's on their end. It's on their contractor's end.

The initial issue was that I smelled something burning. My son went outside to check the system. He said it was not spinning. We've had J & J out before in June for my air conditioner and I immediately called for a revisit of J & J 'cause the technician had told me I had 60 days in order to do that. The technician came out and told me the thermostat control panel was not connecting. I said, “This kind of stuff can't continue for the rest of my existence in this house for my air conditioning system ‘cause I just paid for all this other stuff to make sure I didn't have any problems with it.” I asked would it solve it if I had a new thermostat system breaking away from what I got. He said, "If that's what you choose, you can. It'll have to be mounted a different way." In other words, it wasn't done correctly. He said, "You can call and find out. I'm going to turn it in."
I love the technician 'cause this is my third time dealing with him. He is so honest. He walked me and my son through the steps in reference to what he found. It takes J & J a while to get to you but I always specifically ask for this one technician 'cause I know that he's going to do what is honestly best for my situation. When you get a technician who knows what they're doing, it's a beautiful thing. You don't have any hassles. You don't have to go through it because they've made sure whatever they’re reporting is clear of what they've explained to you and I appreciate that. I'm pleased with American Home Shield.

We had scheduled appointments to get our refrigerator and our stove repaired. We also had some drainage problems with our bathtub and the stopper to be put back on one of the bathtubs. Those were two separate calls. We were on the phone with someone for about 30 to 45 minutes and someone did come in to do the tub. When the plumber came to the house, we asked him if he would wear a mask. He said “I'll wear one if you wear one.” He had to replace the stopper in the bathtub bedroom. He kinda tried to talk us out of it by saying that there was a risk of him doing something, and it was meaning that we would have to tear out the whole wall and this and that. We told him to take a chance. Other than those, he provided the service. But we still haven't heard anything from the people that were supposed to fix the fridge and the stove and we have them and left a message. Also, we already paid our deposit for the services.

The contractors with American Home Shield always do great. A plumbing company recently came out the next day after I did a claim for my clogged drain. They resolved it for the moment, but some of the pipe needs to be redone. I don't think American Home Shield covers that so we're going to do that and set up a payment and an appointment for the plumbing company to take care of the rest. I've had other claims and they're normally related to the same thing. We have some roots grow in through our plumbing pipe outside so it's kind of been giving us problems about twice a year since we moved. But everything else has been fine with American Home Shield. They're cheaper for a service call.

The ease of use of the website of AHS is really good. The companies that they've used that I've had to use since I've moved into the house a year ago through any claims have done a really good job. I've had AH Appliances Repair out a couple of times. I had them out one time to fix the ice maker in my refrigerator a couple of months ago. Then, recently, they were here to fix something on my washing machine. There was a propeller on the drain pump that spins as it pumps water into the drain line. That broke off and was stopping the drain pump. So, my washing machine wasn't draining.
They were professional and timely. They replaced the drain pump altogether. First, they did a video chat to confirm. They used a secure link to do a video chat for me to show them the drain pump. From there, he was able to assess the issue. So, when he showed up, he was prepared with the parts and everything that he needed.

Recently, I was having issues with my tub. The handle came off. Then I had the technician look at my other bathroom because that's what I requested, two bathrooms. But they only had told him to look at the one where my handle had come off. He tested and made sure my water pressure and everything was what I wanted. Other than that, he checked my second bathroom and gave me advice on what I should do, as far as the issue I'm having with my second restroom. He did a good job. Everything's functioning well. It wasn’t difficult submitting the claim with AHS. I just had a little issue with understanding the person because they had an accent. So far, I’ve gotten great service from AHS. The technicians sent out were very professional, timely and knowledgeable.

My air conditioning wasn't working properly and Air Plus Heating did everything. The tech had to put a new compressor in it. He was very nice and the experience with them was very good. When I started out with American Home Shield, it was $45 a month and now, it’s $66. I’m wondering why their prices went up so high.

It was included when we bought the house then we decided to keep it after the year because we used it a few times and we liked it a lot. We've had to use the service a couple times for our washer and once for our air conditioner. They've been very good about getting people out there quick and the people have been great that we've worked with. One of them was Shields. They came out and fixed the problem, and everything was great. All in all, we're very satisfied with the service.

I had a home warranty before when I lived in Texas and the key thing is, if they come out immediately, that's perfect. If they can fix it right there on the spot, that's even better. A lot of times, it could be days till you heard anything back. Who wants to wait for something to be repaired, with air conditioning especially? I was excited that American Home Shield could have someone come in the same day. When there was a coil that was wrong with our AC, the guy came very quickly to repair it and he cleaned it all up. It poured down rain, and in a matter of time, he was done and outta here. He was nice, efficient, and everything was perfect. We're glad we had him.

When I've needed American Home Shield, I've called them and they've always sent someone out. I've been satisfied. But I'm not satisfied that there's going to be such a big increase in my premium when it renews in September. Also, I was without a refrigerator for almost three months because of the parts that they had to have to fix it. The estimated repair amount was $1,000 but they chose to fix it.
Then the ice maker quit working and American Home Shield sent somebody to fix it. He had to get a part for it and then he fixed it. But a week later it stopped again. He had to come back out and jiggled it around. He didn't even know what he done to make it start working again. I called in a repair last week, and the young man came out and he said, “The tray thing in it is not very big, and it just don't make it often enough, I guess.” So I paid a service charge for that and there was nothing wrong with it according to him. But American Home Shield did what they were supposed to do.

When my dryer would not heat up recently, a technician was able to get here two days ahead of schedule and had it fixed in no time. The whole process was very simple, and the technician was knowledgeable, very patient, and took all safety precautions. He's a good technician, and I'm very pleased. This is the second time he came. When he came the first time, one part had gone bad. When the other went bad, he had to come again. Overall, my experience has been very great with American Home Shield, and I have no unexpected big repair bills.

The technician for the pool was fabulous and knew his stuff. There was a leak on the pool and he came out and replaced the pump. After he replaced it, we had to keep the equipment shut down for six hours so it could all dry out. After we turned it on, we also saw there was another sort of dripping which was going on. We took the video of that and we sent it over to Expert Pools. We have not heard back from them yet. The part that the technician replaced seems to be fine. The leak was not where the part was replaced but it’s joined to that.
We have had three issues so far and American Home Shield have been good so far. We bought the most expensive plan, which is the Platinum plan, because we have high-end appliances. If something was to break down that can be repaired, we have higher warranty limits. A few years ago, in our other house in Atlanta, we had a home warranty service from American Home Shield. And even back then, we generally had a good experience. So we insisted, when we got this place, to get AHS. There were so many other competing home warranty plans and they were cheaper but we went with American Home Shield.

Somehow, the AC unit outside didn't have a good connection to it, so it wasn't coming on and off like it was supposed to. And it wasn't getting stuff cool around in it. I made a claim with AHS and the next day after I called the contractor, they called to tell me that they’d be in the next day, because it was on a weekend. When the tech came out, he looked at the air conditioning unit and said there were some wires that weren't connecting right. He fixed that in no time and he was very good. He was also very polite, professional, and went right straight to working. Before this, we had another claim with AHS where we had to replace our icebox. They had to bring their icebox a couple of times because they dropped it one time. But it was okay.

The AC was clogged. It wasn't draining the condensation out. The tech was very polite and professional. He diagnosed it and got it fixed.

The air conditioner was not cooling. Going back to the air condition, someone texted me and let me know that that person was coming out. So I sent them a text back, asking them are they gonna wait until the top of the hour and say, “Oh, I'm sorry. They’re not coming.” But that didn't happen. They didn't show up in the slot of time that they gave me, from 10:00 to 2:00, but I overlooked that. They did show up. When the guy came out, he discovered that a capacitor was bad. He had one with him. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Everything has been operating really good.
However, when my stovetop went out last year, American Home Shield took them from November all the way up until February to replace it. Here I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner on a hot plate. It was a GE countertop stove. And they had plenty of time. They said they were ordering, the part had came in, and all of a sudden, they said they had the wrong part. And I got a complete runaround. One contractor showed, looked at it, took it apart, and left. He wasn't very friendly. I called the contractor, asking them, “Where’s the part?” They said the part was coming in. The part is in. And all of a sudden, they said, “No, that's the wrong part.” So I stopped calling the contractor, and started calling American Home Shield. It was Christmas, New Year. How do you go about cooking dinner on a hot plate? At one point, I thought about waiting until this service was over, and I would get out of the contract. I didn't want them anymore.

I like the website of AHS. It's convenient. AHS is also quick, easy, and affordable. For my recent claim, I had to set up the appointment myself. They provided me with a contractor, and then I called them and set up. I've had three claims so far and they were all processed just fine.

A contractor responded the same day the ticket for the garbage disposal that wasn't working went in. That was a Friday and they were out here on a Monday. They replaced the garbage disposal, and it was all good.

My most recent claim was for my old water heater from '07. It had two elements and the bottom one was not working at all. It was rusted out. The tech ended up putting a new water heater in. He was professional. I’ve got another claim for my dishwasher that's open still. It needs a new timer. I have the timer that was shipped directly here and I'm waiting for another tech to install it, which will be next week.

My air conditioning unit wasn't cooling and American Home Shield responded right away. They assigned XTREME Heating & Air Conditioning to look at the problem and the contractor said I needed my coil replaced or I could get a whole new unit for the outside and the inside. It was fine. I will have a person that's gonna change the coil and I'm waiting on American Home Shield to see if they will approve it.

The previous company I had didn’t have any deductibles when they sent contractors at home but a lot of the stuff wasn’t covered by the policy, which I wasn't aware of. That's the reason I cancelled and moved to American Home Shield. Recently, a circuit breaker was tripping most of the time so I called American Home Shield to send Authorized Electric people. They were super. They came and found the problem in a few minutes. As a matter of fact, they were ahead of schedule and replaced the whole circuit breaker. Everything started working and we don’t have no problem so far.

American Home Shield is probably the better home warranty out there. They’re rated number 1 as far as doing what they say. So far, they've been good. I hope I don’t have to turn anything else in, but if I do, I hope they will help me again. When the inside unit would come on but the outside unit wouldn’t, I was scheduled right away and a repairman came out. He asked me what the problem was and I told him. He went right to it and changed the start capacitor. After he was done, the unit started. I would use him again. I don’t think he’s been in business too long but he’s real professional and knew what he was doing. I was very pleased with him.

Care Appliance Repair couldn't fix the washing machine door when the tech came by with the parts. He had to take it back to the shop and brainstorm with the technicians there. But they were able to come back the day after and fix it. It went well and everything's going good.

We called in for our garbage disposal. The lady explained we'll get a bill and we’ll be charged 75. Then a lady plumber came. She did everything, replaced the garbage disposal, and was in and out. It’s working great.

We had a fluorescent light fixture and I had changed the lights bulbs out but it still didn't work. So, I put a ballast in and sure enough, it was the ballast that went out. It was good dealing with the repair guy when he came out. More times than not, with what goes wrong with the house, you may pay a little more for a year for what you're getting than what you would have paid for. But there are times too that the home warranty saves you money in the long run. Plus, you get it done quickly. There were times if I was trying to call an electrician, it might be a week or two for him to get out there. But with American Home Shield, it’s a day or two. They are well-worth your money.

I'm very pleased with AHS. My heating and air conditioning systems just suddenly stopped working. I had no AC and the temperature was very hot in the house. I went online and requested a service call and I got a response very quickly from the system saying it had received the request and was reaching out to vendors in my area. Then, I got a message saying that an appointment was scheduled with a vendor for three days out. I called the vendor and explained the problem. They called me the next time they had a cancellation and offered me an appointment the next day. They came out and fixed it within a half-hour.
AHS saved me from the trouble of having to find a vendor in a particular field of service and got me somebody who was very good. The techs showed up on time and gave me advance notice of when they were arriving. They were also very knowledgeable and did a fine job and I was more than happy to pay the $100 service call fee.

The light fixtures in a room in our upstairs worked fine, but the outlets did not. I put it in Monday, and the electrician came Thursday. He was very helpful. He was able to identify the problem and fix it. This is one example of things being ideal. On the flip side of the coin, my refrigerator has been off and on and I submitted that claim six weeks ago. They've been having issues locating the parts, but I'm confident it will eventually get fixed. It's just been a long process.

For the most part, the service of AHS has been very good. We've gotten some benefit from it. It's just a little disappointing because there are so many rules, "This is covered. This isn't covered." But the areas that we've needed to use them, they've been responsive. They helped us replace our refrigerator. We also had an issue with the leaking around the base of the toilet. CNJ Services came out and they were great. Everyone AHS has sent to us has been very good. I've been very pleased with the contractors that they work with.

I gave American Home Shield a call for a recent claim. The first number I had wasn't working. I had to go online and pull up a new number, and that was how I reached out to them. But the electrician they sent was great and having American Home Shield, I can get stuff fixed in a timely manner.

I requested service to American Home Shield to fix my refrigerator and other application. I was very satisfied with their service. Previously, I usually called AHS when requesting service. I usually wait for more than half an hour or even an hour to get an agent to talk with me. So, that was not very convenient. This time, I did it through the website. The website is good. The tech from Long Lane came to do the inspection and find which part caused the issue. The next week, he ordered the cooling stuff and other filters at the back. He came to fix in one hour, and everything was done. The only problem was it took me about a week to gather feedback from Long Lane, but it was not a very emergency thing. So, I could wait for that long time. But when it is an emergency thing, I don’t wanna waste that too much long time.

Silver Appliances fixed the problem and I’m very happy with the delivered results. American Home Shield is providing excellent service. Most of the cases are nice although in some circumstances, they need to be more responsive. I would recommend AHS but it depends. In some instances, we need to get the service right away, which was why we bought the AHS home warranty. But when we need it most, like when we have plumbing issues, the plumbing service is not there. When I had a kitchen stoppage, I couldn’t use the kitchen and I waited for another week to get serviced. So, they should improve on that.

The condenser fan of my AC wasn't turning on. The tech came out to fix my AC and he had to put a new coil in it. It worked before he left and he put a new thermostat in. But it wasn't fixed when I got home. It was running but then now it's broken again. I texted the guy and opened a recall. He said, "Okay, judging from the age of the unit, it may need to be replaced." So, we've been without AC for a while now, and it's gonna be 100 today. He is supposed to come out tomorrow. Other than that, AHS is doing its part. It's the other contractors that are taking forever to get out. It's like nobody wants to work anymore, it's crazy.

Our recent claims, one for plumbing and another for a pool service, were much better than we've experienced in the past. The response time was better. They did everything remotely. My husband may have interacted with the plumber, but the pool service, they were able to do whatever they needed on the outside. It was resolved on the first visit.

American Home Shield did a good job. I had claims for the refrigerator and the air conditioner, and the process was very easy. They sent out people very promptly and both contractors were excellent. They replaced the parts and they had those with them so both units were fixed on the day that they came. AHS has good customer service and good contacts on an out-of-town property.

Whenever I called in, everything has been handled, but sometimes it is hard to understand some of the representatives. Also, there are not a lot of different companies to choose from. Every time I call, there's always one particular company that I'm given to, and it's always a wait. I have to call back and see if they can find someone else. Recently, the electrical outlet in my son's room went out, and the guy that came for my electrical is not as close to me as the other people are. He had to drive aways to get to me. When he checked the breaker, he said it burned and he replaced it for me.

I called my realtor for advice on where to get some plumbing work done. She said we got American Home Shield and it covered that. It did the claim and ever since then, I thought I was gonna stick with American Home Shield any time we get in a house deal. I have not had any problems with them. There were never any questions asked unlike with some other warranties we've had.
This last claim was a stoppage and a plumber did fix that. He showed me where it's gonna happen again. It made sense, so we addressed it. We had the pipe rerun a different way. It still cost us money but the guy, Hector, was very credible. I had zero concern that he was lying to me. He was not trying to take advantage of us. We've had enough repairs done where we know he was looking out for our best interest. American Home Shield has quality vendors that represent them. The only thing that could be better is the timing. If it's a plumbing issue, three or four days can make a huge difference. But I understand why it took long. It's hard to get work done at all, let alone in three days.

I feel better calling in my claim with American Home Shield. It was 115 degrees here and I did a claim for my air conditioner. It was really quick this time. The tech was nice and very professional. He was very to the point and got things done. I was more impressed with him. There was an instance where I couldn't get in touch with the company that American Home Shield had given me. It was several days late when they told me they had one person for Beaufort, Savannah, Jacksonville, Florida, and Hilton Head. It was the middle of summer when everybody's air conditioners were out, so that was a little bit of an issue. But it still wasn't bad. American Home Shield is usually pretty quick. I use them once every two years. My only complaint is I have a hard time understanding a lot of their reps and they don't understand me. That's very complicated. That aside, American Home Shield is great to have and it's worth it. My whole family has it.

American Home Shield responds immediately and they usually have somebody out within one to three days. I've had dishwasher problems and a problem with the dryer. The contractor came in and did their job. The one thing though, we needed a part for our dishwasher and it took a really long time to order because we're with American Home Shield, they have to order it. They can't just take the parts from their store, so it takes longer. But they have been able to fix the problems. AHS's service is good to have.

Very, very little water was coming out from the kitchen faucet. When the plumber got there, he checked under the sink to see if there was any leaks and he didn't find any. He quickly cleaned the inside of the faucet and it's flowing good. He told me I didn't need to change the faucet at this time because it's still working. Then he went upstairs to the bathroom because the sink was not draining well. He cleaned it up and after that, it flowed again. So everything went well. I'm satisfied. He was respectful and professional.
Asking for service for our home needs is not a problem. The only thing that kind of frustrates me with American Home Shield is some of the issues at home that happen are not covered. Because the plumber told me that the issue could be part of the sink area. Maybe that's where part of the water is flowing down under the sink that is causing the wood to have a bad smell, but that part is not covered in my plan or in any other plan. I called American Home Shield's number and someone helped me understand the plan that I have. I was told that the things that I was asking are not covered in my plan and in any other plan. So if they’re not covered, then I have to shoulder them myself and it's kind of inconvenient. They should expand their coverage more. But otherwise, I'm happy with American Home Shield.

We were having issues with our air conditioning. It wasn't blowing and a lot of the time, it wasn't turning on and it wasn't very cold. So we called American Home Shield and talked to an agent. It was pretty easy to submit the claim and there was a low wait time as well. We got a call that the contractor was coming out an hour before.
The man that showed up was very knowledgeable and polite. He was very thorough as well. He went through everything and explained exactly what he was doing, why he was doing it and explained his hypotheses as he was sort of debugging. So I really appreciated that. He told me that he was cleaning out these columns, that he was draining the condensation that had built up, and that he had cleaned the coils outside. Now, we have proper climate control in our house, which is very important in this very hot weather. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and convenient it was to file a claim with American Home Shield and get everything fixed up.

When requesting for service, I call usually and make a claim there because it's easier for me instead of going online. On the phone though, they don't sometimes know what you're talking about. They would use big words and they aren't making it in layman's terms like I'm a second grader. That’s what I need. Other than that, it's good on the phone, and usually, American Home Shield is quick to fix your stuff. One time, they had an air conditioning company come out and they were professional and went above and beyond on the air conditioning. These people were better than the last air conditioning people I had. They were fast, and that's what I like. All in all, American Home Shield has been good to us and I'd tell friends to get it. We have my mother-in-law on there, and she's gotten a new refrigerator and a new stovetop. They did well for her.

With American Home Shield, if a major component is going to go out (like the air conditioning unit), I can get the problem fixed with the copay. In some cases, the problem could be quite expensive. Having that peace of mind is the most important element of having the warranty, especially when you are retired. When I was working, I never had any warranty, but now that I'm retired, my source of income plays a major role.
Recently, the pilot on my stove started to click without stopping and that whole component went bad, so we had to replace it. The repair company came out and did a really good job. The technician that was assigned was extremely professional, respectful, and knowledgeable. I'm very happy with that. The only thing is it took a week and a half to get the part. Getting a part nowadays is difficult because of the change in quality, and with all the stuff now made in China and in other countries, it becomes a nightmare. It's something that is beyond everyone's control though.

American Home Shield is slow and all they want to do is patch everything together. For the last four years, that's all they've ever done with my AC. They just patch it 'til the next time it breaks. We submit a claim and it takes a week to get somebody out. They look at my AC and then it takes another week to order the parts. And it takes another week to reschedule something. Just like how we got our AC fixed last time. They sent somebody out to look at it and it cost 75 bucks.
The contractor called me and it was gonna be 10 days before they could get out and fix the AC. It's 100 degrees out here. I called AHS and got another contractor that was able to show up that Friday. But it's all just the process. AHS doesn't want to pay anything. Plus, the companies they use are all single contractors with one or two trucks. They don't use companies that are big and reputable.

The pipe underneath the kitchen sink got a hole in it. Dense Mechanical came out and fixed it. They were fine. They were right there when they said they were going to be, on time, and very clean. Everything's great. Submitting the claim with AHS was very easy. I just went online and requested the service, and they took care of it. The service was impeccable. I don't have any complaints whatsoever on Dense or on American Home Shield.

I had a claim for my air conditioner that wasn't working correctly. A contractor came out and that appears to be fixed. I had another problem before which was a plumbing one. My dishwasher wasn’t working correctly. The first company American Home Shield sent out didn’t know how to fix my dishwasher so they sent out another one that specializes in my type of dishwasher. The second one ended up being able to fix it. It took them a couple of months, but ultimately it got fixed. It would have been good if the first company that they sent out would have been certified in my type of dishwasher. That would have avoided one of the extra visits. But I’m pretty happy with the service that I’ve had from American Home Shield. All in all, it’s more positive than negative. Everything’s been taken care of. I did just recommend them to somebody who was looking for a home warranty company. They offer the best value and the cost per visit is kind of high but that was an option that I chose to keep the price down a little bit.

The contractor didn't get out quick enough. I called on the weekend, which I thought they had some kind of emergency service, but they didn't. So, I had to wait till Tuesday before they could get out and fix the leaks. But I was happy with the service and everything is functioning great now. If people have any problems with anything, American Home Shield usually is prompt about getting people out to fix it.

American Home Shield couldn't tell me anything and refused to give me any sort of phone numbers and confirmation. We've been waiting about a month now and we had to rent a different property for money because we couldn't live in our house. Anytime I went to try to get information or try to figure out what was going on, they said parts were going to be delivered last week. The technician had no idea and the customer service has been horrible. We have to find somewhere else to live and it’s costing us money and nobody is giving us any timeline. This is the first time that it has happened where it’s been terrible. It left a bad taste in our mouth. If we buy a new house, I doubt we would ever use AHS.

I normally go online and go through the descriptions of what I need to complete. And I request the service. I like that American Home Shield has their descriptions of certain things. Because I'm girly-girly, I don't know stuff to do with no house, other than ringing a doorbell, so it's nice. And I like the warranty. There was a storm in the area so it blew out the electricity. The central air unit wouldn't come back on. The tech showed me that there was a piece that needed to be replaced every so often, and he replaced it.
He was really nice, because some people just come in and do their job and leave. He wanted to show me what was wrong. And he even showed me how to use the system. Because I rent the property out, so I wanted to know how to show someone else how to use it. The air came right on. He was one of the best servicemen out of the whole entire time that I had the warranty. When I purchase my next house, I'm gonna make sure that I get the same warranty on that house. I will recommend it.

The online claims process is pretty easy. However, if the issue isn't resolved, it has a link where it's like, “Hey, does it still need to be repaired or it's still not fixed?” When you do that, it creates a whole new claim instead of reopening the claim, so then you're charged again. So then you have to call in, and calling in is not very helpful because depending on the representative you get, sometimes there can be a language barrier or they don't understand what the full issue is that's going on, and that just adds to the problem and makes you a little bit more upset. So if the issue’s not fixed the first time, the experience after that is just not great.
When purchasing a home warranty, you want to pick the best value for the service that you're going to get. For me, just experiencing what I have so far, there should be more transparency as to what the full claims process looks like. Right now, it's just too generalized. But once you actually have an issue, that's when you really get into what the specifics are, what coverages are, what pieces of coverage you're responsible for, like as far as dollar limits and out-of-pocket costs. That should be weighed a little bit heavier.

All the claims that I’ve put in so far have been taken care of in a timely manner. I love that. I put in a claim for a leaky showerhead and a leaky pipe. AHS gave me the contractor who was over the claim and Marathon Services called and made the appointment. They replaced the valve and some washers and stuff. Also, they summed up the problem and gave AHS the paperwork of what services were performed that day.

The sinks needed to be replaced. American Home Shield needed more information from Anywhere Plumbing and they sent that in. Then American Home Shield said it's another 24 to 48 hours. I'm waiting on them to let me know what options I have for replacement. I'm gonna try to call them this afternoon if I haven't heard back from them.

Before COVID started, I had these appliances, and I sent in an order to get them repaired and it was never done. Parts were ordered but nothing. It was said that the refrigerator was repaired, but it still did the same thing. It flooded out my floors and I had to replace those. I've written to the Department of Consumer Affairs. I've also written a letter to the insurance company, one of their vendors, because of the floor damage, and nobody wanted to take the responsible party. The fellow, on the other hand, when he came out, was a very knowledgeable technician. The only thing is, he didn't follow through. He didn’t finish what he started. I thought, for once, I was gonna have faith in American Home Shield again.
I pay them and I'm still giving them the opportunity to make things right. Obviously, they're not making things right with me. I've had five different companies out here and they tell me that they're all professional, but not a single one of them can fix my Thermador oven. As a matter of fact, one of their vendors took my oven apart and never put it back together. Up until this day, I have not had an oven for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any of those times. We've been cooking out of an air fryer. Luckily, the stove works. This is ongoing and they don't seem to care, because I don't receive a single phone call from any of them. The last guy told me that the stove was no longer repairable and that I would need to purchase a new one, which I agreed on. But I never received a check from this insurance company.
I've even reached out to them via email and through their porthole and got the runaround. Also, everybody I'm talking to is out of state. They're in the Philippines. I've even heard the people on line talking about me because I was angry, not knowing that I speak Filipino. If I wasn't just waiting for them to repair, my Yelps are gonna be amazing when I get done with them. I would definitely not recommend American Home Shield.

The repair for my dishwasher hasn't been done. The tech ordered a part for me and told me that he was gonna get with AHS and that AHS would get back to me and let me know when the part came in and when the techs could bring it out. AHS then let me know that the part needed no longer exists for that model of dishwasher. So they told me that they were gonna get me a new dishwasher and set me the information to order one. I've had to call American Home Shield 20 years ago in another home. I thought I was getting them when I moved into my house six years ago. I ended up with Choice Home Warranty so I dealt with them for two years until I got sick of them so I had to find AHS. With AHS, competent people come out.

The tech has to rewire the wire from the breaker box down to the receptacle on our inside unit. I got a text from them saying they ordered the wiring and as soon as they get it in, they will call us to make an appointment. Having American Home Shield fix whatever is wrong and pay them a fixed $70 fee has been a benefit versus having a company come and fix it for hundreds of dollars. However, I'm still waiting for them to send me a check for my appliance that they were supposed to pay for. I had a company come out and AHS approved the replacement. They were going to send me a check to cover what they were gonna pay for one unit.

American Home Shield just puts a Band-Aid over something that needs a plug. They don't want to really fix them. I had an air conditioner guy come in the other day, and air conditioner wasn't cooling down. So he put some Freon and left, but he had to come back the next day because it didn't work. I got him back the second time when the air conditioner wasn't cooling and the fan motor quit running and it started smoking. He said, "Oh, well, it didn't have enough amps run into it." He brought a fan with him and said, "Oh, no. This fan is not bad." So he didn't fix it. He just put the wires tighter. So I'm not very happy with that. It's working now.
The first time I used that I used American Home Shield was when my dishwasher went out. It was old but it was a solid dishwasher. It had to be replaced and they gave me their comparable model. But they brought me out a piece of trash. It doesn't even clean the dishes. It's made out of all of it is plastic. It's already bad. It was not even close to the kind of dishwasher that I had. But it is what it is. They did replace the hot water heater and whoever put it in did a good job.

The air conditioning stopped working completely and American Home Shield was able to get me an appointment for the next day, which was fabulous. The contractor came and found out that my air conditioning unit had too much water in the pan that collects the humidity water, and it has a shutoff valve. The pipe that ran from the air conditioning unit outside was clogged up so they unclogged and drained the pan. My air conditioning went right back on and it's been working ever since. The claims reps were wonderful. I was with another company for a couple of years and the difference is amazing. American Home Shield has a 24-hour day and you can report on a phone or online. They're very responsive and I am very pleased. I've had it for maybe five years maybe and I’m thoroughly satisfied.

The AC wasn't turning on at all and when the tech came, he opened it and told me to turn it on. He diagnosed it with some special tool that he had, told me exactly what the problem was, and got it ordered. And we're getting it installed today. The claims process was pretty simple, too. I just called because I had a question and the lady I spoke to explained stuff to me, then I understood.

The tech came to see why there was a leak and an overflow of our double washer. He opened things and checked. But he said that he needs to check with a plumber to clean the drain for the water from the washer to get through. I asked if I needed to make that appointment and he said that he would work that out. The plumbers worked the blockage so that the water from the machine would go through. They did that on a Friday.
That Saturday, when we had to wash the laundry, we realized that the bottom machine wasn't working. I called and the tech wouldn't answer so I called back. He didn't answer again. So, I called the customer service line and they said that they will connect with the tech or send somebody to look at the washer. The tech called me yesterday saying that he's going to come tomorrow to check on the washer. He said he didn't do anything but I said it was working before.

When my icemaker wasn't working properly, I called the AHS number to put in a claim. I've never used Home Shield before, but it was tremendously easy. The issue was apparently on the Whirlpool unit. It had a light that went across on top of the icemaker, and it wasn't working properly, so the repair man worked on that. He thought that particular Whirlpool has a problem with the icemaker freezing, the way that it gets the ice out, and he took care of that too. He was absolutely fabulous. Overall, the service was excellent. The response was timely and the people I dealt with were great.

The guy from Moonstar who came out for the refrigerator was wonderful. He was very understanding and clear. He was listening to me and was acting really very professionally. AHS is paying some amounts of money for the replacement. The fridge costs more than 1,000 but then they're offering me $350. I have a few properties with AHS. One time, we had an air conditioning problem, and I totally had to pay myself from my own pocket. I sent them all the invoice but they said the cause of the damage was by an animal, so they did not take care of that. Other than that, I’m satisfied.

I've been with American Home Shield for 16 years. The good thing about them is when there's an item that's broken in my home, I can call them provided that the item is covered. They would send somebody out that's licensed and bonded. I don't have to do that work and it makes me feel safe. The bad thing is sometimes American Home Shield goes up on the rates, which is not what a customer wants to hear. The service fee is also constantly going up. When I started, it was $60 then over the years, it went up to 75. I hope I don't get another increase in the service fee.
Another thing that shook my feathers was when I had a claim for the sink. The sink was clogged but it was still going down. The pipe was leaking. When the technician came out, he realized that the sink was clogged. He looked under and felt moistness down there. But it wasn’t actually leaking. When the technician finished the service, he put it in as a clog. He texted me back and told me that American Home Shield didn't honor it. He was very disappointed but he wasn't rude. He was very direct and we had a decent conversation. At that point, he said, “I guess you got the service free. Why don't you call your service and make sure that that's covered?” I didn't wanna ever feel someone was working in my house for free so I was forced to pay the technician out of pocket for the service, which really was not in my budget.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the service from American Home Shield. I just wish that when the service tech gets the call and they say something is approved, it could be submitted where it's already approved. When I talked to a lady at American Home Shield and I told her what my problem was, she told me it was already approved. But when the technician submitted the payment then he told me the claim was not approved, I was caught in the middle.

AHS is always slow. I have a problem with the washer and dryer and the tech recommended replacing it. AHS said they didn't get anything from that guy. I called the company and they said they sent the report right away. It took AHS a month and a half. My tenant didn't have a washer and dryer and I had to compensate for it. Also, AHS uses companies and they don't pay them enough. The contractors don't want to do the job. I had an AC issue and the guy that came out didn't want to go in the crawling space because it was too hot. Then, AHS sent another company and they said they cannot get to the crawling space because they're afraid there'll be damage but they didn't say anything about anything else.

A repairman came out for our AC, looked at it, determined that a damper motor went out on us, and ordered one. Two working days later, he came back and reinstalled the new one. We've been homeowners for 48 years and this is the first time my wife and I have ever had a Home Shield protection. The process so far has been very good, and I'm very pleased with everything.
We have a lot of knowledge in what goes on in homes and what things cost. Last year, when we purchased this house, the Home Shield warranty was thrown in by the sellers, and they paid $500. We had to use it once the first year, and when it came up for renewal, we decided to do another year and see if we will continue this. My only issue is this year, we had to pay 750. That wasn't fair to go up 250 in one year on us. Otherwise, I am perfectly content and happy with it.

Our refrigerator kept going off, and it turns out, it had a bad circuit breaker. So, we worked with AHS and we ordered them. Then the electrician came out and installed it. Now, we have cold food. The claim process with American Home Shield is not quite as quick as if we called somebody ourselves, but it was reasonable. We've had them come out to do another circuit breaker issue earlier, and they were great then too. Our experience so far with with AHS has been fantastic.

I felt like my house wasn't getting cool enough. So, when it was getting hotter during the day, it was getting hotter inside and the AC just constantly kept running. So, it wasn't keeping up with the actual temperature outside. The guy from Mister Freeze came out here. He had all the tools in his van and he fixed the problem within an hour. He was very professional and polite. He addressed the issue. He explained what was going on with it and he told me there was a leak. There was a hole. So, he had to replace one of the tubing and had to put coolant back into it because that hole was pushing all the coolant out when it was running. Home Shield's claim process is very simple. What I do is I call them. They set me up an appointment. They give me the contact information for the person that's gonna be assigned to work on my house. And within 24 hours, the person has called me back setting up an appointment.

The inside panel of the dishwasher was completely broken. A gentleman came over and according to him, the appliance is 18 years old but it is better put together than the newer ones. He did a very good job of repairing our dishwasher and it was done in a timely manner. It also didn't take a huge amount of time to get the part. Once they got it in, he contacted me. The only thing is companies need to learn that when they have people calling, they need to have the company identified. The gentleman called me a couple of times and I didn't recognize the number. I put a block in the number. It makes it hard when people call from their own personal phones. People in my age group are hesitant because there are so many telemarketers that call and we don't want to answer.
I've been with American Home Shield since 2018. The rise in the cost hasn't been really bad but it does worry me being on a fixed income. Also, we have a dryer and the door is not completely broken off yet but it's getting to a point where it could break off. When appliances get to be old, it would be more cost-effective to just have them replaced rather than try and fix them.
On the whole, our home warranty is helpful. This is the first time we used it and we had to pay a $100 copay, which we knew about upfront. On the other hand, the out-of-pocket hourly rate for somebody to come out and fix something is astronomical. American Home Shield's price seems to be fair and it's really a good deal. Based on this experience where I had to call them and had work done, I was very pleased. It was very good service.

I just had a service call and a contractor came out to repair the AC unit. There was water filling up in the pan underneath the unit and the pump was working intermittently. The day before they came, I had dipped all the water out by hand, poured it out, and the pump worked intermittently. But once it filled up, it kicked off. They replaced the pump but the issue is still happening. Somebody needs to come back out.
It is hit or miss with American Home Shield. Around this time last year, someone came out and it kind of felt like he was on drugs. I asked American Home Shield to send someone back out and was very specific in the notes I made. I even called Greenway Services but they sent the same guy back out. I felt unsafe being a single woman with children in the home and this guy coming. I just paid for someone to come on my own to fix what needed to happen because I did not feel safe. But for the other things that have gone on, American Home Shield has been very good and quick in resolving those issues. I would absolutely recommend them. I've been very pleased at who's been sent out. Even the people that came out for the fan problems were amazing.

I've had American Home Shield for a couple of years now and their claims process is good and fast. When our air conditioner wasn't cooling, the AC company put some Stop Leak and some Freon.

Most of the items that I report are not covered and that makes me wonder, why do I have them if everything is not covered? I was gonna go through them with the toilet, but I went through an outside plumber. My toilet wasn’t covered. Something was wrong with my sink, and it wasn’t covered too. So I had to pay them out of pocket for that. My hot water heater wasn’t covered. I had to pay for that as well. They came in, some of my plugs weren’t working, and I had to pay some of that.
It's warranty cover, if you're telling me it’s wear and tear, then why do I have insurance if it’s wear and tear? Then I don’t need insurance. I was thinking about canceling at the first of the year. Because I have three policies with AHS and that’s quite a bit a month. When I call them, nothing’s covered. I'm always out of pocket. Then, I have to pay $100 for someone to come out, that doesn’t apply when they tell me it’s not covered. You’re also on hold forever when you call them. And you got to go online, and older people, we’re not computer savvy to always be going online. I will not recommend AHS.

A Go Home Appliance Repair came and replaced a burned part in the wall oven. They were good but the repair took almost two months and I had to live without an oven during that time. That was the only challenge.

Our dryer was running but it wouldn't heat up to dry the clothes. The tech was able to get out the next day after I made the claim with AHS and she was very professional. The service also didn't take long. She said the heating element had gone out, so she replaced that. And now it's been working fine.

The premium of AHS is high compared to other home warranty companies. However, overall, we have been more satisfied with the service provided by American Home Shield. They send people out in a timely manner and follow up on requests for service. We have been happier with them than anybody else. Requesting for service has also been very nice. Being able to submit the claim online instead of having to call makes the most of our time and just makes it a lot easier in general. Like I was sitting on my couch, I was able to file the claim really quick instead of having to call during business hours, take time away from work.
Plumb Genius came out towards the end of the day for my recent claim and they were awesome. They showed up during the time period they said they would be there. They were ready to evaluate the issue right away. Just got in and got it taken care of. I already called them to say, “Hey, do we need to reach out, or will you guys contact us when you have the part you need?” Because they have to come back out to complete the service. They said, “We'll call you as soon as we have it.” They communicated well and didn't waste our time.

There seemed to be an issue with a few outlets that were out in a couple of rooms. A & P Electric replaced the outlets. They also determined that the ceiling fan motor had blown out so they ended up replacing that as well. Then, they double-checked the main breaker to make sure everything was good. AHS is something that I think everyone should have. The process is speedy and it's convenient and easy. It works for me and I plan to keep it.

We had a contractor come out for the AC and the tech said he needed to add other parts to my air conditioner, which I didn't understand. Also, they told me I'm going to have charges because certain things aren't covered but I don't know why my out-of-pocket was so high. I had a second company come out and the tech from ACS Absolute Comfort was very thorough and very informative. He told me exactly why the Freon is low and what the problem is. I have a pan where the water is supposed to retain after its use. They say that the line that sends out the water that accumulates is clogged. AHS is still investigating and the rep I talked to said she's gonna call me back as soon as she finishes talking with ACS Absolute Comfort.

There was no water going to the air conditioner and it wouldn’t work. It was the hose bib that was the problem. The techs were excellent and very good. They identified the problem quickly and resolved it quickly too. They had everything with them. Now, everything is perfectly fine. My son and daughter-in-law has had American Home Shield's service for a long time. And I thought, "Well, okay, I'll try it." It was so difficult getting through because AHS has a lot of foreign people that answered the phones. It was really irritating. And I just told him, "Look, I'm used to when I call somebody, I get an answer right away, and there's no fooling around." I did call them back. And then I told him, "You need to give me another plumbing company because--" and I told him, "I want to cancel my whole policy. I'll go with somebody else that I can trust. Because if I can't trust you, I don't have your policy."
Everything has gone smooth. But I requested Street because I had them over here before. The first time I ever called American Home Shield to have somebody come out, they referred me to Honest Plumbing. Jesus Christ, let's have a name that's not even reputable. They never bothered to call me back. I was a sales rep for 30 years, and I never treated customers in that respect. So I was really hesitant, except for my son said, "Call them. Just call American Home Shield and have them come out and fix it or replace it." Because they have the same policy. And I just thought, "Okay. Well, I'll just request Street." And I just told them. They put it through.
I called them on Friday, so they set it up for Monday. And the guy was here early. He said, "Is it okay?" I said, "Get in here. It's fine. I'm early to everything too. I know what you're doing." So we're great because they are absolutely awesome. When they came out here, and I told him, "I'm pretty sure it's broken," because it's not jammed or anything. They replaced it right away. The guy had some in his truck. He already knew. It was great. I only had to wait the weekend, which was fine.

I just moved in to my condo and water started leaking underneath the toilet onto the floor. I'm single and I didn't know how to do it. I noticed that my plan covered plumbing so I called American Home Shield. The repair guy was wonderful. As soon as he looked at it, he could see what was going on and he fixed it. Apparently, the person who flipped the condo that I bought used a shorter hose than he should have. So, water was leaking from the handle every time I flushed it. He did an extension with the hose and it’s now working perfectly. The repair helped me calm down because the repair guy came right out and it was over and done with. It wasn't something I had to continue to worry about. AHS is a great deal.

I’ve suggested American Home Shield to a couple people at work. We had them when we lived in Louisville but we quit them when we moved down here to Paducah. My sister-in-law was talking to me about it and we went ahead and did. So far, we’ve had good results with everything that we've had go wrong. We just had two appliances fixed and everything was great. The repairman was super professional and very quick. The only thing is the reps at American Home Shield misunderstood me when I told them what the issue was. We had a dishwasher and a dryer that went down at the same time. I told them we had a Whirlpool clothes dryer and a General Electric dishwasher. When they sent the claims in, they reversed them and said we had a Whirlpool dishwasher and a GE dryer. When the repairman came, he said he couldn't work on the dishwasher because it was listed as a Whirlpool. But as he was standing here, he got a text message and American Home Shield corrected it all.

Air First Mechanical came out and quickly assessed the problem. It was about a 24-hour turnaround from the initial complaint. They told me what the problem was and fixed it. They advised that they didn't need to run any diagnostics and that it was just a small repair. The tech, Don, was very hospitable. This is my first time having used the service and as far as the expediency of both fixing and coming out there, I'm pretty satisfied with it.

I sent a claim online for a leaking faucet. The website was pretty simple. American Home Shield did a great job. It was a great program. The tech came out and installed a new faucet for me. It was done in a timely manner and the young man from J & M was hell of a good kid. He was very professional. Overall, most of the program is pretty quick and American Home Shield a good company to deal with.

I like that, if an issue arises, like an emergency, and my schedule doesn't let me handle it myself, I know that I can just contact AHS and they'll have someone over to fix it. I called in a claim with AHS recently because there were multiple leaks. The service of the techs that came was great.

I called and said something was wrong with the refrigerator, AHS sent a contractor out but the contractor didn't work on Samsung. I had to call again and tell them that but they should have known that. Then they assigned me SG Heating and Cooling. The tech was appropriate and patient. He explained everything to me. He fixed the refrigerator piece that was loose but he was unable to fix the freezer part.
A lady called me and said they wanted me to get a refrigerator from Lowe's. What I was not aware of when I first signed up was that AHS only does business with Lowe’s and that they get some kind of great discount. And the refrigerator was on backorder. They didn't know when it will come in but I need the freezer-refrigerator now. I told her that I can get my own unit and she said the offer was something like 1359. You can't get a refrigerator in 2021 for $1300. It's totally unsatisfactory to me. It was like, “You got to take what we're giving you.” But I told her to send that to me and I forwarded the receipt with the warranty and everything to AHS.

I had an icemaker go bad. I got contacted within a day. It got resolved after a week and a half, but the contractor had to order parts. Four days later, the icemaker is doing okay.

I had a leak in the ceiling of my basement. On the first call we made for service, I had to go to the hospital and my daughter had to cancel the appointment. After I came back out of the hospital, my daughter called again. American Home Shield didn't answer right away and we had to call again to let them know that we had tried to get them. They said okay then we called that we did get them. They don't have anyone to answer the phone. You leave a message and they call back. A tech came. The pipe was leaking and he put a clamp on it. The leak stopped, which helped greatly, and I was satisfied.

Very very slow and unresponsive service. I do not recommend if you need anything fixed in a timely manner. If your AC is down and temps are in the 90's, expect to wait weeks or months for a repair and they blame COVID and supply chain issues, however another AC company said they would schedule the repair within a few days. I spoke to the company doing the repair and they told me that was "too bad because that is how American Home Shield does things" and that they are "not an emergency service." They suggested I'd be better off paying someone to do the repair if I wanted it done in a reasonable amount of time. They use a company in my area called "Integrity Air Conditioning" which is a total joke and they have to have a name like that because they are so disreputable.

We were very pleased with the air conditioner people. We had a cooling issue. It was 100 degrees plus for a number of days. We came back from a weekend away and it was 90 degrees in the house. They were there the next day very quickly and were able to figure out it was a lack of coolant in the system and fixed it the following day. It was all covered by AHS. I am pleased so far with AHS.

I was recommended American Home Shield by my parents. One time, the drain pipe on our air conditioner in the back of the house was blocked up with something, and the unit did not shut down like it was supposed to. Water filled up that pan and leaked into the room below. American Home Shield sent Airmax out and they were professional, but they didn't do anything about the water. The first time they came, my wife said they were there for 10 minutes. They went in at the sending unit upstairs, cut the PVC pipe and blew out the line to clear the obstruction. They thought they resolved everything, and everything should've been okay, but then our air conditioner did it again a week later. I had to do a second call and the second guy came out and spent more time with the drain line. He went up further into the air handler unit. He fixed the issue, and right now, the unit is working fine.

Normally, if I have a repair, it tends to go for four weeks before it is fixed. You put the information in and American Home Shield books you with somebody a week out. AHS has not given them the information on what the repair is even about other than it's a dishwasher. So, the tech comes out without any knowledge of what's going on. They bring their laptop and order the parts. The parts take 10 days to come in from AHS, and they come back and fix it. With my hot water heater, I didn't have hot water in the house for four weeks. If something happened to my furnace, I'd be pissed.
This last repair was for my dishwasher again. It went out and in January. It took them three weeks to get it fixed. Somebody showed up with a laptop and looked at it. It was the first time they heard what the dishwasher model was and what the problem was. It happened again a couple of weeks ago and it started up again whereas it was going to be a different person coming out and AHS didn't pass any of the information over.
This one was a little different. AHS assigned the claim to Sears and they booked the appointment with me. Then arbitrarily the day before they were supposed to come, they rebooked the appointment a month later. I was not super kind to customer services when I called. But no matter how mean I was to the lady, she was a champ. She booked somebody who knew what they were doing. When I rated the guy who came out and did the repair, I said that this should be a model of how they always work. That the vendor has the information before they show up. I trusted him. He showed up in the window that they gave me with a part in hand and was able to fix it 20 minutes.
I love having the warranty. I got AHS after I got my new furnace and air conditioning unit put in, thinking everything's new and it saved me thousands of dollars. It's just you have to be able to work without stuff for a while. If they have to make the fix more than twice, they buy you a new one. It's not a horrible process and maybe some of this is COVID. The communication from AHS to the vendors is not good in any way, shape or form because I've had techs come out and say that if they had known what it was, they could have brought a part with them.

I love American Home Shield. They give you peace of mind for sure. Everything that we've had issues with has been taken care of really quick by them. This is our ninth home that we're in and ever since we've had the policy, it has always paid for itself by far. For every home that we sold, we purchased a one-year American Home Shield policy to go with the sale of the home and the feedback I got from the new homeowners was, "Thank you so much." ** happens but AHS is there to pick it up. I just sold a home before we got into this one. About two weeks after the new owners moved in, the pool heater broke. They called me and I told them I bought them an American Home Shield policy so just call it in or go online and register then do the claim. They called me back about three or four days later and thanked me up and down for that American Home Shield warranty. With the $75 deductible, the contractor rebuilt the entire pool heater for them.
Recently, a gentleman came out for the icemaker in the fridge that stopped working. He knew what it was instantly. He said he thought he had the part back at the office, but he wasn't sure and would let me know. After he left, I got a call an hour and a half later. He said, "I do have the part at the office and had a cancellation so if you wouldn't mind, would you like me to come out and finish fixing it for you?" I told him it was okay. He fixed it and it was awesome.
The only time I can remember there was an issue with American Home Shield was three houses ago when I had a pool pump go out. A technician came out and said it needed a new pool pump. It was an expensive one 'cause it was a two-speed. American Home Shield said they were not gonna cover it because it was a preexisting condition. They gave the technician a hard time about it. He said, "There's no way it could have been preexisting. It had to just go out." He had to fight them a little bit for it, but he did get the approval and got us a new pool pump. But everything else has been handled very professionally. Everybody that's come out has been awesome. They bend over backwards. I have one guy with a dishwasher on a claim. He came out three or four times. He had ordered the part and they sent him the wrong part. He didn't realize it till he got to the house and had to reorder it and come back.

We've had one to two service calls a year in the last six years with the air conditioner. I just wished American Home Shield would go ahead and replace it. It always goes out at the most inopportune time. Their claim process is much better than it was. Now that they have the online option and we can call it 24 hours a day, seven days a week to set it up, that helps. They're doing a good job. We still have them and gonna keep them.

My inside compressor was running, but there was a component in the AC unit outside that was being put through too much work and it made the top AC fan motor overheat. It's a heat way system, so once it hit a certain temperature threshold, the system shut down and I was no longer getting any cold air in my home. The AC guy who came was super knowledgeable, very helpful and explained to me everything that needed to be done to prevent issues like that from happening again. He said it wasn't anything that was my fault. The AC compressor motor was super old and all rusty and needed to be replaced regardless. He replaced that as well as the component that works with an AC compressor motor to regulate the temperature.

There was a leak and I thought it was coming from the water heater, which is why we called. American Home Shield sent a plumber out. T Mayes said the leak was not from the water heater. It was actually traveling under the water heater and it was coming out of the humidifier on our HVAC. Because it was on the HVAC system, they made a referral back to AHS to have an HVAC tech come out and look at it. Sometimes AHS had problems in the past. But in general, I like the quality of the service and the efficiency and quickness of it. I referred AHS to a friend of mine who asked about home warranty companies and I expressed that I have been very satisfied, as have been my in-laws, because they use AHS as well.

The pool motor wasn't running like it was supposed to run. I called a claim in and Ecotech Pool Service came out. I got a thing before they came to tell me how far they were from the house and what time the tech was going to arrive. The tech was nice. He called the place to check on both motors because we had a different type of motor and they didn't have anything. They had to order that.

I've used American Home Shield two times. One claim was for the air conditioning, and the other was for a pipe leak. The claim process and the technicians were fine. The only issue I have is not receiving a detailed report of what they reported. But other than that, everything is okay.

We had heating issues and American Home Shield sent Ces-Tech out. We thought the issue was our ducts, but apparently, it wasn't. We just needed Freon. We were three pounds low on Freon. So, the tech filled it up and it seems to be working now. He was able to help us. He was very nice, very knowledgeable and thorough.

The lid on my dryer had a crack on it and the repair guy replaced it. He also did a tune up and showed me what I need to do to maintain my machine. Neither of them was broken but he showed me certain cleaning things that I got to keep up in order to keep it from ever breaking. The response time was impressive and then, he gave me tons of advice after that. He ordered the part and as the part came back, he was very on top of it and had great communication.

I love AHS. When my washer was leaking, the techs changed the fill on it. I also had a water leak under the cement at my house and it took them a while, but they sent somebody out. The techs fixed it and it would have cost a couple thousand dollars that I didn't have. It took them a week for the water but it was coming from my main water line.
Then they replaced my dryer but the people that they sent out didn't communicate well with them. The techs came and tried to repair it, but instead of them contacting AHS and saying they couldn't repair it, I had to call AHS and have them send the techs out again. And I called them to ask if they could make my dryer not repairable, so AHS could replace it. Finally, when they got the call to come out again and I talked to the rep, she took care of it. But the little communication problem was with the company that came to work on my dryer, not the one that got me the new dryer. Aside from that, I had a claim for my AC where the compressor was out and when I called AHS on Monday, the guy was there Tuesday. He told us why it went out and how the air conditioner was. He gave us a good spiel on everything.

American Home Shield has been great. As soon as I signed up, my light switch went out. I didn't know about the 30-day waiting period but American Home Shield sent me an electrician for a one-time waiver. The electrician came over the very next day and fixed my light switch.
