    The service guy inspected the unit and found a leak. He repaired the leak and put two pounds of freon in the unit. He also gave me a couple of tips on what I could do. I noticed later in the week that it was having problems. He was extremely gracious and said to let him know if I was getting a particular variable, which I was. On Sunday, my unit had completely frozen up. I had sent him pictures and he showed up at my house first thing Monday morning. He told me to file another claim because they would still recontact him but he was already there. The unit was again out of freon and we had turned the system off. The unit had thawed overnight. He put in a dye that had a plug or some type of sealant in it because he was able to find another leak in the coils. He had it back working perfectly. He was fantastic.

    When I tried to redo the claim, I was originally going to do it online. It appeared that they wanted to charge me the service call, which they had just been out the week before, so I called the number in and the gal was fantastic. She was extremely pleasant to work with and said absolutely there would be no secondary service call because the system is still not cooling. American Home Shield was very diligent in making sure that my claim was taken care of in a timely fashion, that they sent out professional help and that the people that they were contracting to represent them as a company were top-notch. I went with American Home Shield because my daughter who lives in another state has them and every claim that she's ever filed has been smooth sailing and wonderful.

    The washing machine wouldn't run. It turned out the water pump went bad on it. John Broussard was fantastic. He replaced the pump and the belt. As far as American Home Shield, I'm very leery because I've been through some issues with them in the past. I wanna cancel. I'm not gonna renew them. I thought it was a good idea back then. But with the fiasco last year with my air conditioner, I decided to drop them because their handling of it was extremely subpar.

    There was a leak under the sink. I called American Home Shield and they sent MacLin out. The tech was very polite, friendly and did a fine job. He had to replace the sink faucet. Everything seems to be working fine, and I've been pleased with their service. I would tell others that AHS is a very good service.

Both times that they came out to my house, both the technicians were professional, neat, groomed and uniformed. They were able to service my system in a timely manner.     Recently, we had popped a fuse and I didn't know what to do with it. We called American Home Shield and it was a week before the techs could get to us. 100 degrees every day. That's not acceptable. They don't have suppliers in this part of the country. Therefore I will not be renewing with them all. If you pay for the service, you expect the service to be rendered in a timely manner and a week is not a timely manner. AHS is not a good service for me anymore.

    Also, when I bought the policy, it was not represented to me that there was a $1,500 limit per contract per year on the services. So, if I'm buying something for $600 a year and my air conditioner goes out in six years, they ought to pay for it and they don't. It's been unsatisfactory all along. They also replaced a dishwasher for us and they wanted to supply a dishwasher that was really of inferior quality. So, I paid the difference between a better product and the one that they wanted to provide.

    The service is okay in the first half of the time that I've had it. I’ve had two claims over the past six months. One took three and a half months to get resolved, and the other one is still not resolved. It seemed the vendors that American Home Shield were getting to do it kept not reaching out to them. Everybody kept saying they would call me back in 24 to 48 hours, but they wouldn't. So I would call back in three or four days and tell them the same old story all over again.

    They said, “All right, let me reach out to them.” They would not get them for some reason. They’re gone. And that just kept happening. Finally, I was like, “All right? What happens here after four years and we keep calling? We're gonna switch to a different vendor? What happens?” Eventually, it was three months and a half on the first one, they switched to a different vendor and they got it handled. The recent one I'm still working on, they switched to a different vendor. But they're still working on it. We were very upset. We even thought of canceling this AHS thing. It’s not worth it. We have to wait a million years for everything to be solved. The dishwasher, we waited three months. I was three months without being able to wash my dish.

    The new vendor that just came was amazing. He came and tried to fix refrigerator. And he said, “We fix it. In a month or two, it's gonna be broken again.” I said, “Really?” And he said, “Yeah, I'm gonna see if I can talk to them to see if they can get you a new one. It’s gonna cost more to be fixed in every one or two months every time than just getting a new one.” So I said, “Okay, that's nice.” And then the other refrigerator, he's going to fix it. He’s going to order the part. And we are waiting on that. He’s on it.

    When we first had this for the first year, it was great. It's the best thing in the world with American Home Shield. When I had an air conditioner problem, they fixed it. Everything was great, except these last two situations. How is it the same company? We had some claims last year during the pandemic. They came out, boom, banged it out, it was cool.

    The biggest problem was keeping in contact. Every time I spoke to someone just recently over this past six months, “We have to look into this. Give me a minute, I'm gonna go on their line.” I would say, “You're not gonna get this guy.” For whatever reason, they couldn't get the vendor. “It's okay. We're gonna call you within 24 to 48 hours.” But I told him, "Nobody's gonna call. I'm saying how it's gonna go down." "Well, I promise you're gonna get a call from me." And they show us the thing, what I was doing, how many times I call them. They show these different calls. No one ever called back. That was the worst part. We're not needy customers. We only call AHS once in a while whenever we really need them.

    D & S Plumbing came out in regards to our hot water heater. It was giving a code saying that the gas was no longer lit. There must have been a leak in the line that allowed that to happen when they came out and fixed it. They got over early and was able to fix the issue right then and there.

    Everything was great. My dishwasher and stove were not functioning, and the guy from Coastal Appliance that American Home Shield sent out was nice, very professional and good. He was running a little late, but he let me know ahead of time. It was very helpful, and I had no problem with that. He fixed everything in one visit. However, it wasn't simple, initially, dealing with American Home Shield, and there needs to be better communication on what the expectations are from the customer once scheduling for an appliance repair.

    There was a $100 fee out-of-pocket the last time we used them, and we had an issue with that, but we paid the technician. He wanted the $100 prior to services even being rendered. I went on and paid it. I was told that we will pay the rep, but they still took the payment out of my account and I didn't like that. I didn't pay twice, but the communication was poor regarding whatever that deposit was. The rep also didn’t have the most customer-first attitude, but at the end of the day, once it got to Coastal, it was fine.

    The wash pump and the rinse pump went out on the dishwasher. I called AHS and I was on hold for quite a while before someone got on. They were getting excessive calls at the time, so I wasn't in a hurry. Then, the contractor emailed me and just before the tech came here, he called and said that he was on his way. The experience was very enlightening and I learned something new. Then, something on the bottom of the dishwasher needed to be replaced but they couldn't get that part and they couldn't repair without one of the parts on there. So, they ordered a new one and we got it in but it hasn't been installed yet. Other than that, I've told my daughter that they should get the warranty for their house because it's a good value, it protects your appliances, and it's more than a fair consumer product.

    When I call AHS, somebody always comes out. Recently, we have a heat pump and it wasn't keeping up with the heat outside. It seemed like it ran a long time, like it was working hard. I wanted to make sure it had enough Freon in it, so we had the tech come out but he couldn’t get in it. He said it had all the Freon in it that it needed. It was just because it was old. This house was built in 2003 and it has worked harder to cool down.

    He gave us some tips that we could use to help the conditioner not work so hard, like putting insulation in or keeping the blinds closed. He was very pleasant and he went about doing his job. He was here long enough to do what he needed to do, but he didn't fiddle-faddle around. However, the first time we had somebody out here earlier this year, I wasn't as satisfied with them and it was the same company. It was just a different guy. We wanted them to clean out the ducts up there. The tech went up the stairs and he said he saw something and he came on down but he wouldn't go back up.

    American Home Shield has been very good to us. We've had them on a couple of different homes. It's an insurance policy for our home emergencies. Having he service is very cost-effective.     The air conditioning stopped working. The tech came out and fixed it. He said something about a sensor and he showed me something that got wet. And he said that it backed up.     One of my recent requests for service was an electrical problem, which is always unnerving. When I put in the request, I got the call from the company that American Home Shield contracted out to. But the company was not available to come out for a little over two weeks. So I called American Home Shield and let them know what the timeframe was and that I really needed somebody sooner because of what the electrical problem was. The first person on the phone argued with me telling me that, "No, they were scheduled to be there that day." I said, "No, I just got the phone with them. And it is, in fact, over two weeks." So then the gentleman put me on hold, and said, "Well, let me confirm that it is today." But he instead hung up on me.

    I called American Home Shield back and got a different customer service person. I explained the situation again and was told by this lady that I would need to make the phone calls to their other contracted service providers to see if there was a sooner time. Then I would need to call them back and let them know if somebody else was available sooner. So I told her, "Well, this is why I have you guys, why I have paid for the service, so that I don't have to spend my time making phone calls out to different companies. Could you check with these other third party, contracted providers and let me know what you find out?" But she couldn't do that.

    I needed to make those calls, otherwise, I need to deal with the fact that they were going to be there in two weeks. So I was underwhelmed. It really soured me. Other than that, the companies that they've contracted with that have come and done service have all been good. I've been very happy with the companies that have provided the services.

    When I had a recent claim with AHS, it was a good experience. They came to do a repair on the icemaker. They were Johnny-on-the-spot, showed up when they needed to show up and fixed it correctly. It had a little plastic arm that goes up and down. When they took it off, they found that the rest of the unit where it went into the unit, wasn't attached correctly. So, they had to put a new icemaker in it. It's working great. The guys were professional, quick and very informative.

    The techs that came for my recent claim checked the Freon, the air pressure and the control box on the wall. Everything was running well, so they ended up changing the control box to get the air back on. Everything's working fine. The overall process has been good with AHS. But I would prefer them not to collect the money for the service appointment until they’re sure that they have a vendor and everything went well, ‘cause sometimes, their vendors come out and they can’t do anything for you, but you’ve already paid.

    We lost power to our AC and Panhandle looked it over. They checked everything and found out that everything was running in real good shape. They were very friendly and very knowledgeable.     My name is Matt K. I would like to give you my story on what you guys have put me through. I filed a work order for my Air Condition August 17th, 2021. You guys assigned one guy, he could not work on my air cause they don't work on my brand of units. You guys assigned another guy, he could not work on my air cause they don't work on my brand of units. You guys assigned a third guy, he could work on my brand of units but he doesn't have a deal with Lennox to order parts. Then you assigned a fourth guy, he works on my brand of units and can order my brand of parts but he refuses to answer the phone.

    He was assigned my contract August 23rd and he didn't answer my phone calls for one whole week. THEN I called you guys yesterday and NO ONE told me, that during that entire week, we were waiting to get authorization to get the part we needed order. It finally after ONE WHOLE WEEK got approved to be ordered. Now today someone contacts me and says, "Actually the part was never ordered. We'll reimburse you but for not the full amount of what the replacement part costs." ALL I WANT IS TO BE REIMBURSED for the part and HAVE MY OWN people do the work. I am done dealing with you guys and your horrible customer service.

    American Home Shield is perfect. When my air conditioner stopped working, a contractor came out to look at it. They said, “We can fix it, but it's gonna cost $1,200 for the freon.” I said the heck with it and just got a brand-new one. The only thing I don't like is on a refrigerator, American Home Shield said they cover it. That's not true. They cover everything except the icemaker. On the consumer book, when you're looking at what they cover on the fridge, American Home shield should not put “We cover the refrigerator,” then in very small print, “Not the icemaker.” They should do it the opposite way around. They should say, “We don't cover icemakers on any fridge, but we cover the rest of the fridge.”

    It took a little while to fix the refrigerator, but the contractor finally got it done. At first, they needed a compressor. But it turned out the issue wasn't the compressor, it was just a fan. Then, they ordered the fan and that took another little bit of time to get the order. Then they finished that. But they didn't finish the ice maker and I had to call them back for that and they got the ice maker all finished and fixed up now. I'd recommend American Home Shield. It's great to have somebody that's got connections in plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration and that knows who to call and can get somebody to you without you having to do the research yourself.

    The contractor that came out to do the rekey could have been better. After they rekeyed and cut me additional keys, I started to check the rest of the keys, and they weren't working. The technician came back out and he recut them again. That was how we discovered that his company uses short keys. With the short keys, you can't stick the key all the way in the hole in order for it to work correctly. They also use cheap keys. If they used main-brand keys, it would come a little longer than non-name brands. Overall, the service was nice but I wouldn't recommend the product.

    I've used the service twice for plumbing issues. The first time I requested for service, I did it via the telephone and got stuck on something.     Before, it took four days for somebody to come out or even schedule an appointment for our warranty. On the other hand, American Home Shield was much better, much easier, no fussing. We had told our pool company that our filter didn't seem like it was filtering. They said we should call our home warranty, so we called American Home Shield and then our pool company came out and checked it. Their level of knowledge was excellent. One guy came twice, and another guy that came out another time were both very nice. Some people could be, "You don't know anything about your pool."     We were disappointed in the coverage. The whole air handler went out in the house and we ended up spending quite a bit of money out of our pocket. The same thing with the big tank that went out. We spent a lot of money on that. We were expecting our warranty system to warrant everything for that year. But they have this incredibly low limit on what they cover. It is not a fully covered unit. The contractors did their job. They were great people. I had no problem with any of them that came out working on any of the plumbing or the HVAC system. But then I'd tell people to find another warranty company.

    My refrigerator broke one day and I called American Home Shield. The contractor was very nice. They had to order a part and it took five days to come in. But we’re dealing with Covid so it’s not anything that they could probably control. In my experience before that, the tech came and solved the air conditioning problem in 30 minutes but it took him a week to come out. So, the whole refrigerator thing exacerbated me and it made me even upset even though it's not AHS' fault. Their response time is not fast and I understand we're going through a pandemic but 48 hours is way different than 7 days.     The AC unit was making a very loud noise every so often. It made me think something was going to break, so I would turn it off. When it would get so hot, I would turn it back on again and it would go for so long then it would make the noise again. The first time I called, American Home Shield sent Precision out. It took about six days for them to come out. The repairman was very frustrated and irritated when he got here. He only stood in front of the unit and asked me what seemed to be the problem. I told him, and he took a flashlight and kept looking. I said, "Don't you think you have to take the cover off in order to see something?" He said unless it would make the noise when he was here, he might not be able to diagnose it. He was prepared not do anything. He tightened wherever the system's fan is. He said it looked like it had been sliding over, and sometimes it does it after usual wear. When he tightened it, it centered it back wherever it's supposed to be, and he left.

    Within a day or so, it was making the noise again. I called back and told American Home Shield not to send the same technician because he seemed to be exhausted from his day and had no intention of doing any work. A technician from Bennett Air came and said it was low on freon, and he put that in there. I have heard the noise twice since he's left but the unit is a lot better so I'm assuming that it's taken care of.

    Some of the plumbing in my house is 120 years old. Plumbing has been a major issue and I've had a plumber come out and fix a major pipe in the basement. It took him half a day to replace one of those big steel pipes. Recently, the valves in the tub were leaking. I normally can do things like that, but I could not get those old valves out to replace them with new ones. That's when I filled out a request with American Home Shield and Showers Plumbing Company called me within 24 hours. There's a real shortage of plumbers these days, but American Home Shield has a lot of them. It didn't take them long to find somebody to come out.

    There are potential issues to having a home warranty. One is they might try and deny a claim based on tight wording of what's allowable and what's not. But American Home Shield did not do that. They took our word for it. But they're a little sticky on what they'll pay for. We had our valves replaced in our tub, and they didn't wanna pay for the new knobs on the water control. But the plumber had some in his truck, and he put them on there for us.

    When I submitted a claim, it was so easy. A woman answered and she took all the information that she needed. That was on a Saturday and by Monday, they had called me back. The contractor made an appointment and the tech came on time. Everything was fine. I've had American Home Shield out twice and both times they fixed my problem. The first claim was for something in the shower. Then the second was for my garbage disposal. The first time their tech Bob came, all we did was hit the reset button. I was twisting the big knob underneath the disposal for two months but I hurt my back and I can't get down on the floor. I called and AHS sent Bob back.     Never go with American Home Shield. The only thing that went fine was my heating and air system. I would give Cool Breeze 1250 Heating and Air the highest mark. But as far as American Home Shield, I would give them the lowest because they were not wanting to replace my air conditioner. They wouldn't replace any of the refrigerant and it was gonna cost me $800 for the refrigerant. The unit was almost 30 years old and I told them I was not putting that kind of money in when the unit is about to go anyway. They were gonna order another part, and I was gonna have to pay a part of it. Then they said they would replace then they weren't wanting to replace. They ended up replacing it but I had to pay $1,500. They wouldn't have done that if not for Cool Breeze 1250 who was calling them and telling them what situation it was, how bad the unit was and it was crazy to put that kind of money into a unit like that.

    M water heater was the same thing. When I had a refrigerator three or four years back, it was a battle back and forth. American Home Shield wants to do exactly what they can and put a Band-Aid on them. I still haven't got the issue with my washing machine resolved. I called them and they opened the ticket on May the 10th. The technician didn't know what to do so he called to get advice on what to do. They’d walk him through it but still didn't get it fixed. They came back and said they needed a part. They ordered the part but it wasn't the right part. They ended up breaking the latch on the door, so we couldn't use the washing machine at all. It locked. They thought it was the latch so they ordered a new latch. The technician came out but couldn't get in it. He didn’t know how so he called. They told him how to do it manually. They kept on and on but never did get the washing machine repaired properly.

    They closed the ticket, thinking it was fixed. I had to call American Home Shield and reopen the ticket. They were gonna try to charge me another $106 for when you first call them to go out but I told them no. The technician came back out. He told me it needed a control board. This is the fourth time they've ordered different parts. Then he said, “Let me see if I can get it.” They called me back and told me they could not get a control board. They didn’t make it anymore. So, they were turning it back over to American Home Shield. American Home Shield called me and told me that they had ordered the control board, that it was on its way to my house. I told them I didn't know how to put it in. They said they were sending the contractor back out. I told them I didn't want them back in my house and they didn't know what they were doing. I said, “I had them before. I told y’all don’t send them out here.” They did anyway.

    Two days later, I look at my email. American Home Shield said that they couldn't get the control board after they told me that it was already ordered and on its way to my house. I called them back. They said they were gonna have to replace the washing machine and they were sending me General Electric options. I’ve got a Bosch. I said, “No. That's like trading a Mercedes-Benz in for a Volkswagen.” I don't want a General Electric. I've had them before, and they don't hold up. They said they would do a cash-out for $639.18. I told them I could not buy a washing machine for that. We've been going round and round. For three weeks now, I’ve been calling and requesting to talk to a supervisor. You can never get anybody you can understand or that understands you. They talk around in circles and won't let you talk to a supervisor.

    I talked to this lady and she promised me she would have a supervisor call me. I talked to somebody yesterday and they said they were putting that same request. I've been requesting this for going on three weeks to talk to a supervisor. Nothing has moved. Every time I call, I get really frustrated. I've been dealing with this since April. It's almost September now. I've been having to carry clothes back and forth to the laundromat. I've got elderly parents that require attention and a lot of laundry. We got kids too. We're spending a lot of money in cash in going back and forth to the laundromat to do laundry. Ever since I've been a member with American Home Shield, I’ve been begging every time I talk to somebody to send me an information packet. They say they’re going to, but they never do. When I get this resolved, I'm canceling.

    My stove went out and the buttons on it weren't working, so I called AHS and asked for someone to come out and look at it. At the same time, I was also having issues with my dryer and the dishwasher. It took them four times to get a technician to come out. My dishwasher is Samsung, and the first thing was someone was gonna come out to look at two appliances, but they couldn't look at the dishwasher because they don't service that type of item. AHS said, "Okay, well, we need to get someone who can service all three items instead of just one item. Okay?" So I asked them who are the guys that they were gonna send. Then they said, "Well, call these three people, see if they can come out." I called the three people and they said they don't service those items. So it was like a waiting game.

    I had to wait until the technician called AHS to say, "Hey, we don't service that item," before they could send someone out. AHS should know who can service what before they even give you a number to call. So the service can be a lot better. It has not been what I was expecting, especially when you're having issues when you're home and panicking. So it's great that I had the warranty system but it's not as great as I would like it to be. The service is sometimes a bit of a headache.

    I'm really enjoying American Home Shield. It's worth the money. It has come in extremely handy the two times I've had to use it. Once was on the refrigerator. They had to work on the freezer part and I had excellent service from TNT Appliance. Tanya is the technician's name. The second time, my ignition switch went out on my desktop stove, and they had to order the part. I was gonna be out of town, so we scheduled it for the first part of September. She came out early that morning and got it fixed for me. She cleaned up her mess and took the part with her in case she needed to show American Home Shield. It was a really good experience. I've got some overtop appliances that I'm not ready to get rid of yet. If that can be fixed, I'd like for them to be fixed. If they can't, then I know American Home Shield will replace that. I'm not concerned that it's not going to be replaced if it needs to be replaced.

    Sales team is taught to tell you everything is covered and not to worry. My HVAC system stopped working and when I called to verify it was covered, was assured item is covered. They sent local technician who diagnosed issue and reported back to AHS. After a month, AHS stated they did not receive paperwork. AHS asked to have another technician sent out. Different technician came out, same diagnosis. After another month, AHS states they have not received paperwork and asked to have a third technician sent out. Third technician provided same diagnosis. Finally, after 8 months of calls, AHS states item is not covered, even though was told it was covered earlier. Company is a scam and will tell you what you want to hear to so you purchase coverage, but when you have a claim, they will deny, stating item is not covered.

    Late last year, I requested a tune-up for my AC. That was a service that American Home Shield was offering. A gentleman came out and he did that. A week or so ago, our AC would turn on then it would stop, turn on, and stop. I called for service and the AC guy was quick. As soon as he opened the unit, he knew what was going on. Apparently, some kind of pipe in the AC was clogged up. The AC was preventing it from spilling the water. It would put a cap on to stop it. The AC guy said it was good because that was preventing the water from overflowing into the house.

    The problem was a quick fix. The guy put some vinegar and he unclogged it. Now I know I need to do this every three months to prevent this kind of problem. It was something simple. The AC is working now. You have to have good AC in Texas, so I was happy. American Home Shield is a good service and I'm happy with it. They are quick and their response is prompt. But I wish they were quicker where service is as soon as the day I call in a claim, especially when the AC goes out.

    Barnett Air was great. One of my air conditioning units was not blowing. The outside compressor was coming on, but the unit was not blowing cool air for the house. The tech fixed the machine. The guy was really nice about it. He said it was really simple. He felt guilty that it was only taking 10 minutes, so he checked out other things on the unit and gave me a clean bill of health. The unit's been working fine since then. This time the claim process with AHS was positive. But I had another claim on a washing machine that was difficult to resolve.     There was some type of leakage near the furnace. AAA Heating & Air Conditioning came out but the tech had to leave and come back the next day because the storm started pouring rain. He couldn't finish the job that day. But he was good and polite. He worked with my husband mostly and my husband said he explained to him what was going on.     My garage door wouldn't open. No remotes would work and the buttons wouldn't work. I had to do it manually to open the garage door. I called AHS and let them know what was wrong. They sent me an email and said, "This is your contractor. If they don't call you within this amount of time, here's the number and you can reach out to them." The tech came out on a Friday and he was really nice. I explained to him what I was trying to do and he tried to figure it out. He tried putting in new parts. He tried his best to make it work and nothing would still work. Then he explained to me that the whole opener was broken and he had to get a whole new opener. He said he had to get it approved with AHS and then he would come back out on Monday.

    Our tech got here faster than I thought he would, especially with the weather being like it has been. He was able to do the service really quickly and he was very courteous. He didn't have to come in the house and that was a good thing too, with everything going on now. My service with American Home Shield has been good so far. I had other claims and used other people too. They were pretty courteous as well.

    American Home Shield has been pretty efficient. I used them for plumbing when I had a stopped-up tub and that was covered. There was also a claim where tech had done my garage opener. I only wish that if the home warranty is covering one area, they could cover the whole area and not just a part of it. One time I had a claim for something in my bathroom. It was weird that the toilet was covered but not the sink.

    Another thing with American Home Shield is timeliness. Sometimes technicians take a little while to come to your house. Sometimes we have to keep calling different areas because American Home Shield would give us someone from an area that's too far away. I live in Cincinnati and they would give me someone from the Dayton area to come and fix an item in my house. That's a stretch. The tech would say, "I'm not in your area, so it'll take me a day because it's snowing."

    We're out in the desert and it's very hard to get service. I've been constantly having problems. But Sears came out recently and they were good. On the other hand, American Home Shield's service is not too good. I'm on the line for sometimes 45 minutes waiting for customer service. I know they hire out-of-country telephone services so they could answer their calls for 24 hours but sometimes it's really hard to understand the reps. It's very frustrating because they're reading a script and I'm trying to explain to them and they're going round and round.

    The capacitor on my AC failed, so the fan wouldn't turn on. Since the fan wouldn't turn on, the unit would come on for a bit, the coil would overheat, and it would do a shutdown. I figured it out. I've got an industrial fan. I set it on top of the air conditioner and turned it on, and it got it running until the guy got here. When he got here, I showed it to him. He goes, "I know just what it is," opened it up, went right to it, and checked the coolant levels. It's been working great ever since, and it's 74 degrees in here now. I have nothing but good things to say.

    We've called American Home Shield for four different issues. They have addressed two of them so right now, we're getting about 50% of our issues taken care of. We had an issue with the dryer when we moved in and they sent someone out. They repaired it but it wasn't working correctly. We also had a complaint with the dishwasher and it was non-repairable. So, they sent us a gift card to Lowe's to have the dishwasher replaced, which we did.

    In the last plumbing issue that we called in, AHS sent a plumber out and the issue was resolved. He did a wonderful job. But in the other plumbing issue, the toilet tank was filling with hot water and that's in both bathrooms upstairs. So, apparently, somebody switched up the lines that go upstairs and the hot water is cold and the cold water is hot. Initially, I thought it was just the lettering on the faucets that were mixed up. But when I realized the toilet is filling with hot water as well, we called AHS and my daughter paid $75 for that but no one ever came out for it.

    American Home Shield comes in handy when something breaks. But I'm looking to switch. One time, I had issues with my air conditioning unit that took way too long to resolve. I'm talking a period of over 90 days. That was three years ago. But it started with them sending A-US Air out. They would come and say it was this, they would fix it, charged AHS. Because in the long run, all I paid out of that was my work order fee. Charged AHS for the part that they said needed to be fixed and it never fixed it. It was like fighting tooth and nail to get AHS to send someone else out to look.

    Every time I would call and speak with a representative and tell them it wasn't fixed, they would say, “Well, we have to send A-US Air back because we started the work order with them.” Throughout all of this, it happened in the middle of the summertime. I went from July to the end of August without air conditioning in an all-electric home. Skyrocketed my electric bills because I had to go out and purchase window units to put in my home to have some sort of air. At the end of August, I finally was able to escalate it high enough to get someone else to come out and look at it, and it ended up being no Freon. So, at that point forward, I finally got it resolved. And I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. But I should have switched from AHS at that point.

    Before all this happened, whenever I was in my battle back and forth, the reason why I finally got my way to get it switched is because I have security cameras at my house. I have one camera an AHS worker coming out to my house, allowing themselves into my backyard, and they stole some of my personal property. That's the only thing that I was able to get my way with to get it switched from them having to fix my repairs to sending someone else out. Because at that time, I provided AHS with copies of my security saying, “From this point forward, that company is not allowed to step foot on my property.”

    So weeks ago when I had to file another claim to get my air conditioner looked at, AHS sent A-US Air for my work order. I called AHS' customer service, explained to them that they should have on record that A-US Air should never set foot on my property, and that they would not provide the service. And their worker tried to tell me they have the right to send whoever they want out to my house. So, I said, “No, I understand that. And I understand you guys have contracts.”

    I work for a company and we have contracts with vendors as well. And obviously, they would use the vendors that they have contracts with. But I said, “No, you're not going to send them out and you're not going to tell me y’all have the right to send USA Air out because I have the right to request someone else, especially at the beginning of service. Because I knew what was going to happen. If they came out and they couldn't resolve it, I was going to fight over and over and over to send someone else.” That representative would not listen to me. I had to go online, cancel the work order online, then call back in to AHS and have someone speak with me over the phone to set up a request to service instead of doing it easily online through their system.

    The second time I did it, where after I canceled it and did it online, the lady was very helpful. She gave me a provider other than A-US Air. He came out and resolved it with no problem. Those are my biggest complaints. And AHS has always come through. It's great to have a warranty company when we have issues with appliances so I could just call my warranty company, pay my work order fee, and as long as it's something that's covered within my contract, $75 is all it cost me. It saves a lot of time and money.

    But at the same time, it's not worth having to fight with AHS when there are multiple warranty companies I could go with. And the problems that I've had when it has come to my air conditioner having issues in the last time I had to file a claim, it's not worth it. I don't want to have to do service with a warranty company that cannot meet my needs. If I tell AHS that the contractor is not to come out to my property and they want to tell me AHS has the right to send who they want, then I have the right to cancel my contract with AHS and go to their competitor. It's my home. It's a waste of time whenever I don't get things accommodated that way.

    Having a home warranty is useful. But when it came to that experience I had three years ago with my air conditioner, if I would have just called an air conditioner provider from the get-go and not went through my warranty company, it probably would have cost me more than $75. But in the long run, having to fool with A-US Air over and over again cost me a lot of money that AHS could not reimburse. They cannot reimburse me for my electric bill. They were high because of things I had to do to get air in my house in the middle of the summer. And I live in Texas, where it's hot as hell in summertime. When it comes down to me wanting to utilize my warranty and I have to explain they're not going to come to my house, and then AHS' customer service representatives want to argue that fact, then it makes me feel like, “Why do I have to have my service with this company?”

    There are some things that I've experienced makes me feel like it's not worth going with this particular warranty company, if that's the type of service I'm going to get in turn, especially when I do have an issue. Because in reality, I pay for this 12 months out of the year and I don't file a lot of claims. I could sit there and take the money that I paid for my warranty, put that in a savings, and not have to pay it directly to a warranty provider. I can put it in my savings and have that built up for when something does fall apart.

    The other vendors that have come out and serviced my air conditioner don’t know why AHS continues to use A-US Air as a vendor because they don't prioritize AHS' customers at all. They would come out and look at what was wrong and then I'd have to wait a week for them to say they had to order a part and come back out. Nobody should have to sit in a house for that extended period of time when they have a warranty provider. My encouragement would be to American Home Shield to review their contracts with A-US Air because that's the reason why. When it all boils down to if I did swap, it would not be negative service with AHS. It's going to be that vendor that makes me swap and the experience that I had with them going through AHS.

    I have a slow leak on my AC unit and when I submit a claim with AHS, I usually wait to get service. But for my last claim, I was very surprised that with all the COVID thing going on, the techs were so quick and prompt to come out. I also liked the people that American Home Shield sent out. They were wonderful. The ones I had before worked with me but I had issues with them. All in all, AHS is a great investment most people can afford every month. It's hard to come up with everything all together if my AC unit went off or things happened to my washer/dryer. It's so much easier to pay monthly versus what the expense all at once. I always recommend American Home Shield to everybody and my boyfriend is looking into it right now. With my AC, it has been a thing. But I understand that if they can fix it, then they fix it. I probably have the oldest unit on my whole building but it's still going and it works great. So they're doing something right.

    I put in a request for some plumbing to be done. Both of my upstairs toilets were running. Normally, American Home Shield sends out 2 Sons Plumbing, and they’re local. But at this time, they sent out Jacobs Family Plumbing. Even though they're in the same state as I am, they're about 100 miles from me. They have to drive through downtown Seattle traffic to get to my house so it took the guy a while to get out.

    Normally, with American Home Shield, the contractors will contact me. But this time, I had to contact them. I kept getting a recording and finally, after about a week, I got ahold of somebody. She told me she was was on vacation. They finally made it out after canceling several times. The town I live in is called Federal Way. The technician said, “I’m gonna be down in Federal Way on Tuesday." He called back on Tuesday and said, “I didn't know you were down in Federal Way. I probably am not gonna be able to get down there until next week.”

    Finally, the guy came down and did the work. Then one of the toilets started running again. American Home Shield's call center is terrible. It's in the Philippines so A, there's a language barrier, and B, there's a delay. Not only were we not understanding each other, but also we were talking over each other all the time. They apologize 50 times. I don't want to hear their apologies because it’s not their fault. I ended up talking to somebody from some other office and they're in the United States. The rep said, “Just ask for us from now on. Don’t even bother with them.” I asked for that office and the reps in the Philippines told me, “We need a reason why.” I told them, “No, I don't need to give you a reason why. You need to transfer me," but they insisted they needed a reason.

    After about a month, Jacobs Family Plumbing got back in touch with me. I'm not wanting to use them anymore but the call center doesn't get it. My biggest complaint is probably somebody from the Philippines assigned this guy to me. I had to deal with this call center, and they're a nightmare. There must be a way to request a contractor that I’ve used before. But Jacobs Family Plumbing finally came back down and fixed the problem. The technician took 30 seconds. He just changed out a gasket and it was fine.

    I've been working with American Home Shield for years and it has always been great. They've been quick. My recent claim was for an electrical plug that leads to my pool light. The contractor ended up not doing anything because it was connected correctly. I just didn't realize that it was. There were other problems that caused it to trip, so it wasn't the actual plug. It was the light that was filled halfway with water in the pool. There was nothing to repair. I have another one turned in for them to come out and look at my heater. But on that work order, everything is fine. My mom and dad have a policy too, and they had an air conditioner problem the other day. The contractor out and fixed it the next day.

    The whole experience has been bad. In the end, they did what they had to do, but it took long and it caused so much damage. My boiler started leaking on Monday and American Home Shield kept sending out an air conditioner company for three days after the company kept calling me saying, "I don't know why they're booking me for you if it's a boiler. We already told them we don't service that." They sent another air conditioner person and they also declined to come out.

    I called the four companies that AHS said were going to service and I told AHS they were all air conditioner companies. They do not service boilers. They just kept telling me, "Oh, it's okay. We're gonna find a new one. Call back in four hours." And it took three days, and on the third day, finally, a supervisor called and said that she would finally appoint it to Pruitt's Plumbing, which I had already told them that Pruitt's Plumbing could do because that was a company they sent out earlier that week to fix my shower leak. And they told me that I had to shut off my main water line and I had no water for three days. It caused three room water damage that now I have to pay for because it took three days for AHS to send someone out. And then, our air conditioner shut off. Luckily, we were able to get that fixed. So, they have so much equipment working here that it kept shutting down the breaker. Use someone else.

    Prayco was awesome. Our unit wasn't clicking on, and they handled it very professionally, fast, and very polite. The only problem I ever had was when Calverts Plumbing came out. It was our very first claim and they were absolutely horrible. They didn't have their own equipment, so they used our hose to shove down our sewer drain. When I call in, I make sure I don't get them. Lately, we haven't had any issues, but we had some issues with our air conditioning before. After every couple of months, our air conditioner kept going out and it was consistent. They put a band-aid on it, and then we have to pay another deductible, put a band-aid on it, then another deductible. In general though, the home warranty company is great.

    My AC was running, but it was not cooling, so the temperature was very high. It was 82, but I set it to 75. The first time MI Choice Heating & Cooling came, they added some coolant. American Home Shield only paid very little for that, but the AC started running, so it was good. That happened Friday, then on Sunday, the AC stopped working again. I called American Home Shield again then MI Choice Heating & Cooling came back and found out that the fan that moved the cold air from the AC to the house, the board was bad. They filed on my behalf to change the board and the claim was approved, then they had the board and came back. They put the new board in, and now, the AC is working fine. MI Choice Heating & Cooling was professional and good. I didn't have any problem with them. I have not been with American Home Shield for that long and this is my first claim, but I would recommend people to give it a try.

    My stove was broken and when I submitted the claim to American Home Shield, it was fairly easy. I didn't have my paperwork or account number handy, but they were able to work with me and get me on the schedule. They got me connected to somebody who came out to service the stove. The first day the tech cam out, he went through it and he was able to fix half of it. It's a fancy new ceramic glass stove, so there was a lot of electronic components. We had to order a part to replace a panel board and it was going to take a day or two to come in, but at least I had two burners to work with. As soon he received the order, he called and came back out and fixed it. So, it's working again and I didn't have to buy a new stove. It was a very good experience. I wish though that AHS had a better deal. The prices are going up and up more so than I'd like to say.

    My air conditioner was not cooling off like it should and the tech who came out pretty much said that the air filters needed to be cleaned. He didn't really look at the unit and just said that my filters were dirty. After the service, the AC's performance is still the same. It is summertime and I know it's going to work a little harder than normal. But I felt like it should still get to the temperature that you set it to. Despite that, I didn't call the tech back out. If they couldn’t do the job right the first time, I don’t want them to come back another time. Other than that, AHS has been good. For the previous claim I had, they sent the techs out and fixed my problem. They also showed me all the receipts and gave me all the updates.

    If there's something that goes wrong with different appliances or with plumbing, I just deal with American Home Shield and they are able to find somebody reputable. Also, unless there's something major going on, I just pay a set fee per visit and that makes it easier, too. Submitting claims is better than it has been in the past, where they sent us a text letting us know who was assigned to the job with information within 24 hours of us filing a request. And so, instead of waiting for the contractor to call me, I call them the next day. It's time-saving. I really appreciate what AHS is doing on a regular basis now.

    We had a problem with our air conditioner, and I called, but all I was able to get was a recorded line. I wanted to ask a question, and it wouldn't let me do that. Before I knew it, they automatically charged our credit card. I didn't want yet to make an appointment, but we ended up having someone come out. That was awful. The second you pay for something, you can't talk to a person. I'd like American Home Shield to not be charging my credit card without talking to me. If I'm asking to speak with an agent through them, the only way to be able to do anything was to do that. Also, the person they sent out to fix my air conditioning system was a 19-year-old kid who just graduated high school from the VoTec Program last year.

    I’ve got some medical issues, and we needed the air conditioner. As it turned out, my husband forgot to cancel our other home warranty and they were able to come out the very next day that it occurred. My husband said, “There was no charge for them to come out, so we'll see what they say.” They told us that we needed a part to the air conditioner and that they would be able to get ahold of it and wasn’t gonna cost us anything. We weren't paying the $100 we pay to American Home Shield, so I said, “Fine. Come on out.” It wasn't clear whether or not that part would be all that was needed, so I called American Home Shield and made an appointment as well. It just so happened they came at the same time.

    The first one came and started the install of the part, and then American Home Shield came. I had a very experienced guy putting in the parts and it didn't cost us anything ‘cause we had this other program. He was finishing as the other guy came. The American Home Shield guy took a look at everything, but he was watching him. The young guy understood what the other guy did. I said, “So, you both agree? Everybody's on the same track here?” Truly important to us. We had to pay for one of them to come out but not the other.

    Everything was okay and we were glad to have that, but I don't know if the young guy would have been able to do it. There was also a question of whether or not it was fixed properly or that there was something else wrong, ‘cause it wasn't cooling off the house eight hours later. I thought it should be within three hours that the house would start cooling. I called American Home Shield back and said, “Can the guy come back out tomorrow just to double-check? ‘Cause I'm really concerned about this.” “Nope. Can't come out till Tuesday.” This was from a Thursday to a Tuesday.

    The reason we got American Home Shield was ‘cause a cousin in Long Island, which is about 60 miles from here, had an excellent experience with them. We said, “Okay. We'll switch over to them.” However, I wasn't thrilled that they sent me somebody with a one-year experience. It turned out that everything was fine though. It was just because with the heatwave, it took a long time to cool off the house again. They didn't have to come back out, and I cancelled the appointment the night before.

    The locksmith did half of the locks as fast as he could. They weren’t turned right. Maybe that's the way they were, but it's up to him to put them right. We used to have a locksmith business, so I know what should be done. They all fit one key and that was all he cared about. The smallest dummy could have picked the lock with the key they gave me. Instead of going up and down and up and down and being a little different, they were all the same. My husband would have never used a key like that to key a lock but that was us. Maybe we were more particular. I've been meaning to call them because there was one lock he forgot to key.

    American Home Shield’s service is fine. They sent somebody out and the guy got the job done although it was shoddy. And it was just that locksmith. The guy who did the refrigeration was great. He did the job and it was good. My air conditioner works and off the guy went. I have another home that I haven't got sold and the big refrigerator handle broke off at the freezer. The guy was nice, too.

    We just moved into the house. The hookup for the washer such as the pipes were old according to the people who came to install it. So, the plumber came and he said that it should be okay. He hooked it up fast and was out of there in 10 minutes. He was nice and friendly. I have the electrician coming tomorrow too. The claims process with American Home Shield was easy.     When I signed up for AHS, they said that I have up to $5,000 to use on appliances. But then what actually turns out is I have to buy from the service person that came to the house that they deemed was an equal product. Otherwise, you could take cash, which was way less than the machine that they said was similar to mine that I definitely did not want. I never would have signed up for AHS if I would have known they were going to tell me what kind of appliance I have to buy. I was misled in that whole conversation and that part really upset me.

    The techs were out three different times for my recent claim. When I told them the first time they came, what the problem was, they figured out that was the problem the third time. One thing, they were late several times, which means the four-hour windows, I waited a couple of times five and a half hours. I also didn't like that when I called in, I got someone from another country that really had no way of directing me into any manager. This has been going back since June. I just got my new appliances two weeks ago. I am a Realtor and I would never recommend American Home Shield to one of my clients. If I could get out of my contract, I would.

    All the workers were great, except for one person they kept sending back who I think should retire. He didn't fix the things that he was trying to fix, so then I had to wait for the part then I had to reschedule, then I had to wait another four-hour window, then they'd come out, then it wouldn't work. So I would have to call them again and reschedule. The only good thing was when AHS was sending me the check, I got the check immediately.

    The drain pan on the AC unit had shifted somehow, so instead of the water going to the drain like it should, it was overflowing and got the ceiling wet. I submitted a claim online and the process with AHS was straightforward. When the tech came out here, he got in the attic, realigned everything, and got it all leveled out. He ran water through it to make sure it was flowing all right and it was good to go from there. Other than that, I read the fine print as to what's covered in my warranty and in my case, I thought because the AC unit had caused structural damage that the structural damage would be fixed by American Home Shield as well, but it's not. I had to cover that under my homeowner's insurance, so that was an added step I had to go through to get this thing resolved. Folks should read the fine print as to what's covered and what isn't covered. In this case, it was the unit itself that malfunctioned, not the damage caused by it.

    Watertight Pool & Spa took about a week the first time they came. It was for the pool and they replaced the bearings in the pump motor. It lasted about another four months. This time, they were here the next day and replaced the whole motor in probably an hour. American Home Shield is good value. We had it on our other house, too, that had washer issues and some other things. It was more cost-effective on that house than this one.

He suggested that we potentially put enzymes in it to prevent it from happening. However, I wish there was a spot online where I could write a little bit more detail for the other requests so that the repair person would know what's going on.

    When Barnett Air came out, they were awesome. It was the company before that, Texas Best Air Conditioner, that was the reason why American Home Shield had partially declined the claim from the beginning. The gentleman wanted to try to put another air duct in there knowing that my contract only has up to $1500 on air ducts. He tried to upsell me, and he got mad because I told him that was not what he came here for. The man never had any kind of tool in his hand. He went up in my attic and said I was going to need a new 10x13 blower fan and a new 9000-unit furnace blower. He gave all this false information.

    When American Home Shield sent the second opinion out there, Barnett had tools in their hands. They went up in my attic and told me within less than 15 minutes what was wrong with my air conditioner and changed the thermostat. I like American Home Shield but when it goes to escalation, they should allow us to speak to somebody other than a customer service rep. Those people that you'll be talking to after hours are foreigners and you can't understand anything they're saying. It's like a losing battle talking to them.

    A-US Air Conditioning came out a few times. There was an issue with it not cooling on the second floor, and they had to get some type of flapper motor thing. Then it wasn't cooling on the first and the third floor, and they realized those motor flapper things weren't working either. So, they had to order two of those. When the motor flapper things came in, they came and installed them. They were professional and courteous.

    As far as American Home Shield, I don't think I've had any issues submitting a claim. I've had issues with the people coming out. Several people from other air conditioning companies came out and did nothing but said that they didn't know what was wrong. AHS could have more competent providers or service people. If people asked me, "How do you like American Home Shield?" I would tell them I would get it because the things that have been fixed would have been more expensive if I would have done them with an individual company. So, that has saved me a lot of money in that regard.

    Recently, we had a leak in our sink in our kitchen and it was due to a faulty disposal. The tech replaced the disposal on the spot. He had it available, 'cause he seemed to be intuitive about knowing what the issue was and it's replaced. We called back and said it was still leaking, but that was some residual condensation. We cancelled him to come back out 'cause we put some paper towels down to make sure it wasn't leaking. But he did a good job and fixed the problem. We're very happy.     A couple of weeks ago, we had that really bad storm and lightning struck down in front of my garage. It fried my electricals so half the power is out in my house. It also fried my garage door. I called American Home Shield and they tried to set up a claim for someone to come out to take a look at those. Shaggy was the company that came and my daughter liked their tech. He checked all the electrical sockets and panels out in the garage. He was nice enough to take one light from another room and put it in my kitchen. My daughter called me and told me that the tech was letting me know he doubted very seriously if American Home Shield would replace the lights. There are 35 lights in my house.

    American Home Shield told me that due to an act of God, they won’t cover the claim. I was a little surprised because I'm trying to figure out why am I paying them if they're not going to help me get my problem fixed. I've had my home warranty for about a year and a half and this was the first time I used them. My brother has American Home Shield too and they do pretty well for him. My girlfriend said the same. But with my LED lights, American Home Shield does not replace them and now, I have to replace everything myself. There's a lot of stuff that American Home Shield actually does not do that I thought that they did. Customers should be aware of whatever package that they have with American Home Shield.

    I put in a ticket when the AC wasn't working and then the contractor came out and said the issue was the evaporative dryer in the AC. They replaced that, and then put new Freon in. So I gave them a $1,500 check, but then the AC wasn’t cooling like it should have been. It wouldn’t go below 75. They said I could call them again if anything was going on, so I called them the next day. They were super busy, so they put in a ticket, and they finally got out to me yesterday. The guy came and said that it was their fault. He said they may have to change out a part because they put new Freon in an old Freon system. When he left my house yesterday, it was already 6:00 so they were closed. So he said, “I’m gonna have to put the ticket in. I have to get the part, and then come back. And then if that doesn’t work, then we’re gonna have to change out this whole unit.” But overall, I'm happy with American Home Shield's service.

    The dishwasher went out and when the tech came, he couldn't fix it. He called American Home back and they said they would get on it. They sent me emails that they would replace the dishwasher. They gave me a list and told me to choose from that or I could get one that I prefer and have it count towards that, and that's what we did. We upgraded a little bit and that went well. They paid their part and we paid our part and it was ordered. However, the people that delivered it broke it before it even got into the house. They said they were delivering a washing machine, then the washing machine fell on the dishwasher, and then it got broken. They called me and said they would order another one and get it to me. That took a while. When they finally brought it out, the guy said he couldn’t install it because the piping was wrong. He also couldn't change it and so I needed to have a plumber.

    I called American Home and they sent a plumber out and he did the changes. I thought he was going to install it and he said no. I went back again and American Home sent the guy who was going to install it. But he couldn't get the dishwasher out because of the way it had been installed before. He then said that I would have to get an electrician. I got that to come out and change the electrical setup and that was an extra cost out of my pocket. Once he did what he was supposed to do, then the guy came back out and finally installed it.

    I wasn't satisfied with the experience because of everything else that happened. But American Home did their part and in a timely manner. It wasn't their fault that all the other stuff took place. But having to get the other stuff in and what I had to do every time I went back to American Home, they fulfilled it, stepped up, and got the people there to do it. The last part I was only upset with was I had to get an electrician out. But American Home, as far as the part when I called for the problem and the resolution to the problem, was excellent.

    American Home Shield has been pretty amazing. It has been really fast and right off the bat issues are fixed. If something doesn't work out, they’ll have a better streamlined process to move on to the next thing. The AC issue was addressed really good. The pipes were clogged up causing the sensors to go off and stop the AC from working. A technician came out really quick the next day and took care of it. However, I did have a deal with my refrigerator where it took almost a month to get fixed up. The dude said he kind of fixed it. He's had to transfer to someone else. The company refused to fix it for a long time, or refused to change to someone else because that one company had to answer the phone and say something. They refused to bypass that without talking to that company. It took almost a month to finally get it sorted out so I was a month without a refrigerator.

    We were having a noise in our AC unit and the tech didn't even go up into the attic to check the it. He just stated that our airflow was not big enough when they built the house, had us sign the form, and left. We were shocked and not impressed with him. But the Sears guy for the refrigerator did great. He was quick, he cleaned up his mess, and he was very professional. AHS should ask for feedback when the service contractors come out. I left one about the air conditioner contractor and about the Sears one as well. And I would expect if I'm leaving bad feedback that they'd want to talk to me so that they can make sure that they're not using that contractor, go to somebody else, or help them improve their service.     Someone came out, oiled my sump pump, and said it would be all right. He said, "If it goes out, just say you need a recall." He should have known that it was not good. Within the week, I had to call again because the sump pump was not all right. The switch was bad on it. A guy came out a second time and he had to go to the store to get a new sump pump. That took about an hour and a half. The first guy should have done that. On the whole, American Home Shield is fine. I passed an email on to one of my friends to use them.

    So far, AHS has been satisfactory. I like that, number one, that they cover a number of different systems, number two, the ease in obtaining a service tech. You call. They have someone identified within 24 hours. They also let you know right away. As with their technicians, everyone has been courteous and competent. ​For our recent claim, the AC was making a very strange noise. As it turned out, it wasn't the air conditioner. The technician found that it was a fan that service both the air conditioner and the heater that was located in the garage. So, they fixed that. It worked out very well.

    I like the way they come right away. They do a good job. When they can't fix it, they replace it. They have replaced my dishwasher and one of my refrigerators.     I’ve had several things done through American Home Shield, and I've never had any complaints with them at all or the technicians that came out. They've all been very good. Everything I've had done was nothing major, so it ended up saving me money ‘cause I just paid the service fee. That's all you're paying unless it's something that's not covered under the warranty, if there are parts that aren't covered under it.

    With my garbage disposal, I didn't have all the tools to change it myself. I had a friend that was a commercial plumber that if he had been alive, I'd end up getting his stuff and doing it, but for $100, I could get it changed. That way, I didn't have to worry about getting all the tools to take it out and put it in. The plumber called me the next day after I got the notification, and then it was the day after that he came. He’s a very good plumber and I would recommend him.

    I would recommend AHS. I’ve had American Home Shield on previous houses that I owned, and they had done very well. Replaced a very expensive oven in my last home.     The tech for the frigerator really knew what he was doing. He pulled it out, saw that the line was frozen and had rusted through the back. It's not repairable and I'm waiting to hear from American Home Shield about what they want to do. With AHS, keep track of your calls and make sure you keep a record of when you have called so that you can follow up in a timely fashion when they don't.

    Other than that, American Home Shield has helped with our oven. We had to replace it and everything went fine. We had to replace our dishwasher as well and that went fine. We're working on the frigerator and the microwave. The tech is coming to replace the part on the microwave tomorrow.

    It was super-slow trying to get anybody out here. I didn't hear back from them for a week. Every time I called in, American Home Shield said they were trying to look for somebody in my area and they were going to call back either that day or the next day. I never heard back from anybody. I had to reinitiate all the calls. That was frustrating, waiting on hold for a long time. It wasted probably an hour out of my day. But so far, American Home Shield has covered everything that's gone wrong. Other than the slowness of the customer service, the technicians that came out were great. When we didn't have power to the washing machine circuit, the contractor found there were some loose revert connections in the crawl space that they took care of.

    I went to American Home Shield and said there was an issue with the outlet. There was no power. We were remote working so I filed the claim online. But generally, I do all that online. I just click on submit a claim. I then look for the appliance, electrical, plumbing, click it then send it through. Then AHS acknowledges it. They then say, “Somebody will be assigned to you.” AHS gives me the contractor's name, address, and phone number. If they don't call me the next business day, I call them. But this last time they called me right away.

    They ran the diagnostics before they determined what the issue may or may not be. I have two breaker boxes. They looked at the one and they tested that. Then they looked at the other one and tested that too. They explained it all and did their thing. There was this handy dandy little thing where I could track where they are. And I could watch them. When it was hot, I just put cold bottled water for them. Because they run around like crazy people.

    My neighbor kept saying I had a leak. I said he needed to call his people. I called the leak detection people but I couldn’t find anything. And the guy that came out with the leak detection service that I paid for checked and said, “This is the neighbor’s.” I told my neighbor that he needed to have a home service. He asked who I work with and I said, “Here's the thing. I don't know what I paid, like $40, $50 a month, but you're just out $12,000.” If you never use it, it's insurance. If you ever have anything horrific, and that was a fluke leak. I told my neighbor he has to be preventative. He's retired and on a limited income. I told him if I had to pay for the insurance, over the years, it will pay for itself.

    I used to feel really good about American Home Shield’s service. I can't say the same anymore. When we first started, the monthly amount that we paid was reasonable. We liked that. When we had any issues, they took really good care of us. But recently, we had an issue with our dishwasher and that was where our relationship went down the drain. Our dishwasher stopped working. They sent somebody out to fix it. We paid $125. The person came out, and he did something. He said, “Okay. It’s working now" and he left. We loaded up the dishwasher again and ran it, and it still wasn’t working. So, we called them back. They got in touch with the same guy. The guy called them back. He was like, “Oh, well, if it's not working, then I can't do anything. I'm going out of town for my daughter's wedding. Have them rerouted to somebody else.”

    So, we have been rerouted to Sears. They sent one person out who looked at it. He ordered the part and was like, “Well, more than likely, it's not going to be fixed because that part may not be available.” They called us back saying, “Oh, the part is available.” Then nothing happened for 10 days. We have four kids, two little ones that drink from bottles so we need a dishwasher, and we're dealing with it. We keep telling them, “Hey, we need someone to work on this.” 10 days went by. Nobody called us. We finally got someone to call us and say, “They called. We're so sorry, but the part just arrived. And we're scheduling you for someone to come out.” They scheduled for someone to come out.

    The person that came out did not know what he was doing. He installed the part and it was still not working. He was on the phone with someone else. He was like, “There is nothing more we can do. We need to replace this. This unit is not fixable. We need to replace it.” So, now, we waited a week. There was nothing from American Home Shield. They were like, “Oh, we’re still reviewing our files. We're reviewing our files. We'll get back to you.” Finally, somebody got back to me saying, “Okay. Yes. We reviewed our files. We sent it up for approval. But yeah, you guys can go ahead and find a replacement. And we'll reimburse you up to approved amount.” We were like, “Okay. Fine.”

    We need a dishwasher, so we went out and purchased one. We're waiting for American Home Shield and there was nothing. The dishwasher that we purchased, it even took them three weeks to install it, and there was nothing from American Home Shield in those three weeks. The day that the dishwasher got installed and they hauled away our old dishwasher, American Home Shield then called and was like, “We figured out what the problem is. We don't need to replace it. We can fix it. Can you please have these guys come out?” I was like, “But there is no more old dishwasher. Someone told us that we can go ahead and replace it. And we replaced it.”

    Now, the dishwasher is gone. I am not getting reimbursed for it, and they told me that it's my fault. Also, they increased my monthly. So, when I first bought the house, I was paying $70 a month. Now, they're charging me $100 a month. Now, I'm paying $1,200 a year, and I did not get my situation resolved from them. So, I am not a happy camper about American Home Shield.

    I had two contractors come. Marathon came for the plumbing issue and then AHS had HRS come and they fixed it. However, I'm gonna have to call AHS back because the tech told me that the noise would stop and that it was air going down through my air conditioner through my pipes. It's been a week and the noise is still going on. I hate for the tech to come back out but the noise hasn't stopped yet.

    Also previously, if I had an issue, it would be a bigger company coming out. Now AHS has more mom-and-pop people coming. One time, I had an issue and the contractor accepted it but they never showed up. They told me I had to be here all day. American Home Shield told me, “We're going to give them another shot.” And they didn't show up the second time. I called AHS and said, “Now listen, I've got this issue and you keep telling me that I have to go with these people. I'm not doing that because they're not showing up.” It's very frustrating. Other than that, I like American Home Shield. I liked that though I thought my problem was a plumbing issue and it wasn't, they allowed me to change my claim to one for an AC issue and didn't charge me another $100. I recommend AHS but they need to go back and use more professional contractors.

    My upstairs air conditioner was not cooling on a Friday. I called American Home Shield and by the next Friday, it was blowing snowballs. The contractor that they sent out was professional and competent. They figured it out, took care of the problem, and went on their way. I was very satisfied. On the other hand, my previous service was over my dishwasher and it was the most horrible experience I've ever had with American Home Shield. Every time, the contractor said he would come out, and he would not. "I'll be out on Tuesday, between 10:00 and 2:00," but I never heard a word from the guy. Nothing, and then I called American Home Shield. This went on for months.

    The contractor also lied and said, "We tried to fix his dishwasher, but he wants a new dishwasher." That was a bald-faced lie. All I wanted was for the unit to work one way or the other. It made no difference to me. If they put a part in it, I'm happy. If they're going to replace it, okay. This is what I'm paying for. Once we changed the service people, then the new company came out, and I eventually had to get a new dishwasher once that was determined. I'm very satisfied with who the home warranty company used and with the installation. However, there was a time I was going to cancel them. Flat out was just, "I'm done with this."

    I felt like American Home Shield and their customer service department were lying to me. Were they lying? I don't know, but they gave me the runaround, and I felt like they were blowing me off. They would say, "Well, okay, I'll take this to my team. I'll take this to my supervisor and we'll get back to you," and they never would get back to me. One more thing is the customer service for American Home Shield. The people there are a third party sourced outside of the country with extreme accents that are very difficult to understand.

    All in all, my rating is a combination of the horrible experience I had with my dishwasher and the completely awesome experience I had with the air conditioner. It was from one extreme to the other. I was on the verge of canceling, but I am going to continue my account and my service with American Home Shield. It suits me. I'm too old to work on my stuff and I've forgotten most everything that I ever knew about anything.

    The techs replaced the icemaker unit but they're out of stock of the valve that has something to do with the water and it’s pending. A rep called me the day before yesterday and let me know that it was on order and they were going to take care of it as soon as they got the part. I'm very happy with them and they're very good people.

    But the claims process with AHS was very difficult. We had a water heater that went out and they kept putting us off. There was a whole bunch of malarkey with their reps. We got something of a deluxe contract, a little bit better than normal, and we knew we were right about our coverage but we couldn't get an answer from those people. It was really starting to upset the hell out of me, but I got over it. After nine days with no water heater, we got service on it. The experience was very unpleasant, but they got it straightened out. The techs came and we had to pay a little extra, then they put a water heater in. So I'm happy with it now.

    There was a pipe in the attic for hot water that was leaking. I called AHS and talked to a representative. The process was pretty good. But I had a hard time understanding the representative because of his accent. I apologized to him and told him that I can’t understand him. He was very nice. I felt bad because he was trying very hard. He had to spell a couple of things. But I was very satisfied with how AHS handled everything. The contractor was great. Chris was the plumber that came out, and he was very knowledgeable and professional. If I had to call a plumber without American Home Shield, I would probably call them.

    American Home Shield had better coverage and the copay was more than what I was paying my previous home warranty company, but I’m so okay with that. I’ve had to put out a claim with American Home Shield, and they were right on the spot every time. They replaced the air conditioner for me because it was old and it could not be fixed. So I’ve been extremely happy with them. It gives me peace of mind to have somebody that I can call and know that the problem is going to be taken care of. Also, if for any reason, if I wasn’t satisfied, they would send somebody else out to rectify the situation.

    I did a claim with the washer and the stove and was told to get ahold of the contractor. I called them and left a message. At first, it was kind of rocky because they weren't answering and I needed my washer as soon as possible.     For my AHS claim, the AC wasn't getting cold. I have a Nest Thermostat. When I was on vacation, I got a little thing that said that it was trying to cool off the house, but it wasn't. It gave me an error message. So when I got home, the whole upstairs was really high. When the techs came out, they said, “It was on and it might have shut off.” The tech said it was nothing wrong with it, like it was air coming out, but sometimes when parts start going out, it might stop and then it'll reset itself.

    He said it was still working. When you put your hand up there, cold air was coming out. But eventually, it got hot again. On his end, he was like, “Everything seems cool.” So I don't know if it’s my filters, like when the company comes and cleans out your ducts, maybe that’s why it's not blowing hard. Because they never solved that problem. It'll get cold, but then I got the same error message. They said my system's working. They did what they had to do regardless of me getting that error message that said it was 90 degrees upstairs. It eventually got back cold. They went and checked everything. They were fine. The tech was very knowledgeable and he was not leaving until I was like, “No, you're gonna show me exactly that this is on.” Then I liked the fact that he said, “If anything happens. You can always call us back.”

    The claim was addressed well. The trouble was the door was splitting down the middle and it couldn't be saved. When the repairman came out, he was very nice. He told us what he was gonna do. He was here the next day and did it. However, I've had difficulty because when you call American Home Shield, it’s just a machine. When you talk to it, it only does what's programmed into it. I told them my garage door was broken and they kept saying garage door opener so a person was sent here to do the opener. I had another problem when I said a cooler, which is a swamp cooler, and they sent an air conditioning-heating person out. I have a bathtub and the jet stopped working. To date, it hasn't been repaired. American Home Shield did send somebody but he didn't do that kind of work.

    My refrigerator went out and they were going to order the part. I got an email saying the part was ordered. Then yesterday, I got an email saying it couldn't be repaired, and I could get it at Lowe's. However, they showed me a picture of a refrigerator like the one I have or similar. Then it says underneath it, it's not available in my zip code. Then they showed me these little refrigerators that you keep in your office. I don't need those kinds. Why wouldn’t they show me different kinds of large refrigerators? Why would they send me one that says not available in my zip code? I would like to see an option where you can talk to a person when you call in rather than the machine that is not programmed for the questions you have or what you want done.

    I've been very happy with my decision to go with AHS based on some of the repairs that have been made. For my recent claim for the AC, the Airmax repairman saw what it was, and within an hour and a half, my AC was running, and he was on his way. One of the things I was caught by surprise was my unit was 10 years old, and in order for American Home Shield to continue to warranty it after repairs, it had to be brought up to code. So, that resulted in an additional $1,400 out of pocket above what my deductible was. It was all in the fine print, but that was a little bit of sticker shock. But I understood why they did that and why they do that.

    If anything is broken, it's easy to contact American Home Shield to get someone to help. We usually request Epic Air Heating and Cooling because they always do a great job. We've had other contractors in the past who aren't timely and they're inefficient. Epic Air is always timely which is very important and they get the job done. So that's key. Professional.

    However, if you call AHS at 7 o'clock in the morning when they open, you get a message that says, "Due to high call volume." Like it's gonna be like so many minutes. And that is a little bit concerning for me because I know it's not high call volume. It's always high call volume. One of the things that American Home Shield can do is to allow you to keep your name in the queue for you to call back. I remember I was on hold for about over an hour before and then I got disconnected, and then nobody calls me back which is very frustrating. But other than that, AHS is fine.

    The tech from BA Distributing LLC came out for my dishwasher door that wasn't closing and my icemaker that wasn't making any ice. He replaced my icemaker and he repaired the door on my dishwasher. It went really well. The repair guy complimented me on giving the serial numbers and the model number of the appliances because it helped him when he got here to make sure that he had replacement parts on the claims that I was inquiring about. The benefit of having AHS is good. The only thing that’s a disadvantage to me is the copay. I had to pay $100 or so upfront prior to the repair guy coming out and with me paying monthly for the insurance, I assumed that it should have been covered. But other than that, I'm satisfied with it.

    My AC unit wasn't turning on. I tried to call the first company and I couldn't get a hold of them at all. American Home Shield was super helpful with that situation. They tried to get a hold of the company and they couldn't either. The girl who helped me was like, Okay, well, since we're not able to get ahold of them, we're gonna give it a couple of hours and see if they call us back, or if they call you back, or if we can get ahold of them. And if not, then we'll move it to a different company.” So they move it to a different company and I heard from that guy the same day. He told me they wouldn't be able to make it out until a Thursday and at that point, it was a Tuesday. But then he ended up calling me a little later that day and was like, “Hey, I had a cancellation. I could come out to your house today, if that's all right.”

    It was an electronic issue but the guy who came talked us through it a little bit just to explain why it wasn't working right which I greatly appreciated. He told me to let him know if we had any issues with the AC after we got the electric fixed, and he would come back out if he needed to. And then we were able to get that issue fixed on our own because my dad does some electronic work for his actual job. So he was able to help me out with that. Once we fixed that issue, everything else worked just fine.

    We opened the ticket, then we waited for someone to show up and call us from a contractor, but nobody called. We had to call the insurance, then they called the contractor who told them that they would call us. Finally, I received a call from the contractor to schedule. He came, then we said, "This issue happened before multiple times, so hope it gets fixed this time or you will be able to resolve it, and it won't happen again." He went back and reported that we didn't want the machine to be fixed.

    I called back. The insurance said that "The claim has been closed because you don't want the machine to be fixed. You want money for the repair." I said, "I never said we want money for the repair. We want the machine to be fixed. We just told the guy that we hope this thing does not come back after fixing. We have fixed so many times before to insurance and hope this doesn't happen again." They said, "Oh, sorry for misunderstanding. We'll reopen the ticket." They opened a ticket with another contractor, who then we had to follow up. We had to make at least three calls and finally, the guy came and said they had to order a part. They ordered it, and then it sat with us. Nobody called us and we called again, said we have a part, they said, "Okay, we'll schedule something." They did, but the guy never showed up.

    We called back and they said the guy was sick so they would reschedule. So, my last ticket I had for the hood took six months to resolve. It's not an easy process with this insurance company. Lack of proactiveness there. Just opening a ticket and then sitting on it does not help the customer until the issue is resolved. That's where the management comes in.

    Some of the contractors say, "Give me a week, and we'll order a part. We know what the issue is" via their experience. Some, they come, look at the model then say they cannot fix it and have to order a part. That also required a follow-up. They said we need a part, so after a week or two I had to call the insurance to find out what was the status, what had the contractor or insurance bought. Then, they would say, "Oh, the part was ordered, you have to wait." and then it took one week for the part to arrive. We had to call the contractor back to tell them that we have received the part.

    Express was a bit better because they at least had the text update. You could text the technician and talk to them. But some of the previous contractors we had were horrible. The one who worked on the hood, we had to chase a lot. American Home Shield is needed, but the quality is not there. If they open a ticket, follow-up to make sure the contractor has reached and went to the customer or not. Stay on top of it. If you see that contractor has not reached out, there should be some follow-up to know that the customer is getting taken care of or not, instead of the customer calling, trying to find out the scheduling and appointments.

    Also, I told the lady my cost went up on the insurance policy. They said the cost has increased from last year. I said, "So, okay, so the cost has increased but some of the service has not improved." I'm not seeing good service, so it doesn't justify. She said, "Yeah, the cost has increased. What can we do?" I never received any call for any kind of paperwork in the mail. My American Express charges went from $70 to $80 a month. And I said, "Why? What happened?" They told me that the cost has increased from July. I said, "Nobody told me about that."

    We had a leak under the sink that was leaking into behind our dishwasher and into all the wood and presumably down through the wall and into the basement. The All Drains guys were absolutely awesome. We had gotten a quote previously from another local plumber when we first discovered the issue and it was astronomical. But the guy that I spoke to at All Drains was pretty upfront about that, and how much it really should have cost, even if they were going to do the work that the other plumbers said that they needed to do, which he said was very unnecessary. The price that they quoted me was more than double what he would have charged me for it. All Drains fixed it within an hour and a half. They were quick.

    Everything went as well as we would have expected. The only thing my wife had to say was the first contractor that was assigned to the job is a well-known bad business around here. They have a lot of bad reviews, and they're not looked at very well by the Better Business Bureau either. So she jumped on that pretty quickly to get that change. But she didn't have any problems changing it. So everything went as smoothly as I would have ever expected.

    We had a leaking faucet and the contracted company provided great service. But the service before that was horrible. The claim had to do with my sewer septic line. It was backed up and I needed to see what was going on with that. I called the contractor and they didn't contact me. I never got a call back within the timeframe that I was told. It was a few days and by that time I called someone else, had them come out, and do the service. I also had this one heating AC person years ago at another property that I didn't care for.

    I have used American Home Shield over the years. The service I got was good for the most part and I have told several people about them. There is only one thing that bothers me at this point. I had two properties and I got a discount. I don't have one of the properties anymore. The price for the home warranty has gone up and no matter how often you use it, it keeps going up a lot. It would be better for a customer of many years to have better rates or incentives. So, I've looked at other home warranty companies in the past and I tried to re-evaluate what other companies have to offer. I still have American Home Shield's service and I appreciate the contractors who come out on time, respond in a timely manner, and take care of my issue. But I don't like the rising monthly premiums.

    American Home Shield sent us an email back saying that Sears was going to be coming out for the icemaker that wasn't working. They came out twice. The first time, we told them the icemaker wasn’t working. It made one tray of ice before they got here, so they couldn't do anything. They had to wait a week of it not making ice. When they came back, I told them it hadn’t worked since they came in the last time. They said there was one part on there they replaced then the icemaker started making ice.     My air conditioner had shut off. I got ahold of my American Home Shield via their online. They sent me an email almost immediately that said that they were gonna have a company contact me. Then that company sent me an email that said that they would have the tech calling me the night before to set up a window, which he did. I'm an AC&R technician myself, so I knew what the problem was. Whenever he contacted me for the window, I just told him what he needed to bring and have on the truck. That way, he didn't have to make a second trip. He was more than happy to bring the stuff.     We had some outlets that weren't working, and it turned out they were daisy chained off of an EMI switch. So, we ended up locating it and getting the circuit back working. The techs were here for about 30 minutes, but it took maybe a week to get it scheduled and to have them come out. They were super nice. Having American Home Shield is good if it's a major issue. If something more major would have happened, that would have had some coverage. So far, it's just been a little bit of out-of-pocket every time I've had to use or make an inquiry on something or to get a plumber or an electrician.

    Sears came out last week and fixed a part but it didn't fix the issue. A guy came back out today and he's someone we've seen before. He's super nice. He said that the part wasn't the problem and he fixed the problem. This last time was pretty good. We didn't need to use American Home Shield the first couple years we had it, but recently, we've had to use it more for the first time. The first couple times I've had to call, I had a really hard time with understanding what the people were saying. They didn't speak very clear English, and I feel bad saying that to them, so I kept acting like it was my phone and I didn't have a good connection. They got rude and annoyed with me because I couldn't understand. That'd be the only thing that is a little frustrating.

    The first company that was given by AHS for our claim rated really low. We had started on a Monday. It had gone out over the weekend. It was a little bit interesting in that we had to wait after they had given us the first name. I questioned about that one. It was after 48 hours, then I could request a different one or a different one would be appointed. We were away from our home for a couple of days and got a notification and the name had been given to us. Buckhannon's HVAC was the second company. So, I had called them and set it up.

    We talked to them on a Friday and they were able to come out on a Monday. Very nice. It was the blower motor fan and they had to order it directly from the factory, so they told us that it would be two to three weeks. It got here in about a couple of weeks and they came out and put it in. I would use Buckhannon's again whether I had a warranty or not. I was very happy with them. They tried to get to us as soon as they could. They were honest in telling me that they had other customers that had been waiting and the parts just weren't available yet for them. So, at least they were upfront.

    I'm mediumly satisfied with AHS. Their phone technicians answer 24/7 and they really listen. I had to have a hole cut in my ceiling due to a leak and the tech came to repair the drywall. I had a replacement light and they gave me the most basic model. The cover that goes over the light cracked before they even could get it on. Then, I had to wait another two weeks to get it. We also get to give feedback on the techs after each time they come out, so I know that AHS is weeding through them. So far, there's only been one that I haven't liked. It's just that the constraints of the warranty had prevented me from getting the highest quality replacement. I would have loved to have known that I wouldn't have been replaced with a similar item upfront or that the ceiling repair wouldn't have included paint. If I had know that in advance, I might have just gone ahead and contracted on my own for those things.

    AHS had always come through for me when I need it. Both of my refrigerators had issues. One of them had a leak, and a gentleman came out and fixed it. Then the other one, the ice maker was broken. I was getting the ice maker completely fixed on September 3rd. They called today to tell me that the part came in. I like AA Dependable Appliance Service. Then with my appliances, I get the same gentleman. It's good when you see the same person over and over again instead of seeing different people. I really do enjoy working with them.

    The beneficial part about having AHS is you pay monthly, and if anything happens, you only pay $100 deductible. If it's fixable, they'll fix it. If it's not, they'll put in a request for you to get either the same product or something different. I also like their submission process. I like to speak to an agent when I do my request for services. I really don't trust the computer too much. So I'd rather call and speak to an agent and get everything done over the phone with the agent, and then go from there.

    The toilet's water pressure was low, and it wouldn't flush properly. It kept happening over and over again. I plunged it a couple of times, and it seemed to go down. But then it wasn't successful after a couple of days. So, I contacted American Home Shield and T Mayes came out. The guy was here for about eight minutes. He flushed and he said, “The line is clear, but I’m gonna snake it anyway. If you had any problems, call us back. You got a warranty of 60 days, and I’ll be happy to get myself or somebody to come out and look at it again.” It started happening again. But then, I got a notice on the condo association saying that there was a problem with the sewer, and Baltimore County was coming out to snake the line. So, I said if I had to wait another week, I could’ve saved my money. It was something in the community and not necessarily just my toilet.

    I scheduled a second appointment, but I cancelled it before they could come out. Still, they were willing and available. So, I was very pleased with that. Overall, I’ve been pleased with American Home Shield. It's been pretty simple to request service. I never really had my policy number with me. I just give my name, my phone number, and they can process it. The turnaround time is absolutely quick. They either text me or call me.

    August 2, 2021 my HVAC broke. 20 days later the compressor came in. It was the wrong one. On 8/23/2021 I was charged $520 for refrigerant which did not fix the problem. The contractor stated he would let AHS to reorder the correct part. On 8/24,25,26 and 27th I attempted to reach the escalation department. I was on hole each time and again each time I was told no one was available to help. The staff were rude and uncaring, each day I was told someone would call me back. I have been out of pocket $970 in window units. My dog died of heat stroke. As of 8/27/2021 I have filed a lawsuit. Take my advice and do not use American Home Shield.

    On a Sunday I woke up to water pouring out of broken pipe next to water heater. I was able to turn off water. I contacted AHS who agreed was an emergency, did try & contact first company assigned but they could not reach anyone. Told me someone from "Expediate Team" would call in 4 hours. Of course they did not. I had to find my own plumber as was unable to even flush toilet. I called 5 days in a row, spoke to 5 different people overseas who promised a supervisor would call in 4 hours and each time was a lie. I tried reaching out on Twitter, got someone again not US based who did not seem to understand my issues. I looked up corporate office in TN but phone numbers listed go overseas as well. I am going to look for company that is actually US based & hopefully does not train its employees to outright lie.

    Would have given 0 stars if it would have let me. Our air conditioner broke and we paid the $100 for AHS to send a contractor. The contractor came and said we needed a new compressor. It took over 2 weeks for AHS to approve and order the part. When the contractor went to pick up the part AHS hadn't paid for it so they couldn't pick it up. We went back and forth with AHS for 2 more weeks and nobody would return our calls. Finally, after 4 weeks without air, we paid out of pocket for a new unit. When we called to cancel our contract with AHS they wouldn't refund us our $100 or any of our premiums and the woman refused to let me speak with anyone higher up, she said that nobody else would be able to help me. She also said that she couldn't guarantee that we wouldn't be penalized for cancelling our contract.
