When I submitted a claim with AHS online, someone reached out to me in a day. I had an air-conditioning-related problem. I was out $75 to find that out. Air Majesty came out.

Our AC completely stopped working randomly one day. We reset the stuff but it didn't work. I then called American Home Shield. The tech who came did a reset and it started working. After like 20 minutes of tinkering, he figured it out. He was able to get the unit rocking and rolling within an hour. He ended up replacing something that is very common on AC units. Everything is working well now. American Home Shield is great overall and their claim process worked. I can fill it out online and pay right there immediately. They then bring someone out effectively and soon. I would recommend this home warranty to folks, especially as new homeowners.

My dishwasher wouldn't clean the dishes. I wouldn't have been able to fix it. So, the tech took it all apart and he took care of whatever it was. I was impressed. I've never had somebody take stuff apart like they were supposed to when they're working on something to find out what is wrong. I called American Home Shield several times. I was getting aggravated but after the tech fixed it and I watched him fix it, move around and do stuff, he did a great job. If anybody ever needs a reference, he's your man. That claim he did was the best thing I ever did with Home Shield.

If I have any issues with anything, I can reach out quickly and American Home Shield gets somebody to respond. That peace of mind is what I like the most about them. Most of my experiences with them have been with my AC unit, that they've sent out Beaches Air right away. They looked at the issue, then took care of that piece of it. It was a motor that ended up being broken, so they replaced it for us.

I’ve had American Home Shield out several times and they've been great. I can submit a claim either by computer or by talking to a person. It’s a very simple procedure and they've always been on point and respond right away. They send me an email telling me who the contractor is and that they would reach out to us to set the appointment up. The last time I did a claim, it was the heat and air unit. A couple of times before, I had a washing machine that was giving me fits and the guy had to come out three times, but American Home Shield didn’t charge me the deductible. They were very good about that.
I also did a claim for my water heater. When the repair person called me to confirm, I told him my granddaughter had COVID and gave him the opportunity not to come. I also told him that the water heater was in the garage, so he didn't have to come into the house. He said, “If it’s outside, I can fix it from out there.” He didn’t have to, but he came and took care of it right away. He was here half an hour tops and he was very personable.

Whenever we need something and something breaks, we call and American Home Shield schedules something to get it replaced or fixed. It has worked out well. Recently, we had a claim for our central vacuum and that was excellent. The guy that came from the company did great work, informed us they had to get some parts, and he rescheduled. All in all, American Home Shield is good to have. There have been years that we haven't needed it, so we look at that as money we wasted. Conversely, on times we've needed it, it more than paid for itself.

The opening and closing of the garage was intermittent. Also, when we pressed the button, the pad just wouldn't work. We filed a claim to American Home Shield via their website. It was very user-friendly. I got the email from American Home Shield that Ace's would be the company. Then they started communicating with me, sending me emails and text messages, letting me know when they would be here or what was a good time. We spoke to confirm the time.
As far as Ace's Garage Doors, everything was spot-on. I had no issues. It's just they had to switch the initial appointment they gave to me because I think their office was closed but that was not an issue for me. The service was spot-on. They fixed exactly what they came here to fix. I have no issues. I had no attitudes, which is one of the things that somehow people tend to have these days. They were very respectful. The repair helped tremendously. When I close my garage, after I press the button and it does not go down, I don't have to come out of my car to hold the button down on the keypad outside to hold it close. When I press the button, it just closes. I don't even have to turn back, although I do that anyway.

I had a claim for the dishwasher and it was a fiasco. The vendor that American Home Shield used had more excuses than can you name. They came out and said they couldn't repair it because there wasn't a place to get the parts. I told them I'd call American Home Shield and they said to go ahead and get a new one since they couldn't repair it. And they set it up for the techs to come back and install the replacement. When they came back to me the day of install, they told me that they do not install, all they do is repair. But they're plumbers so I told them that they can install. But they said that their liability insurance would not let them install. I've been in construction for over 45 years and this was the first time I've run into this problem.
I then called American Home Shield and they, in turn, sent me another vendor to do the install. They got there and told me they couldn't install because a mouse had pulled some of the insulation off the wire and they didn't want the liability. I told them that all they got to do was unplug the damn thing. But they couldn't do it. So, I told them to get off the property. I called American Home Shield and tomorrow, I got Comfort coming. They guaranteed me they can install and haul the old one away.
So, I've wasted three weeks fooling with these people and I am at the point where I'm about ready to tell American Home Shield I'm going to leave them because I don't need the aggravation. I pay almost $700 a year for this service and this is the second time this has happened to me. The other one was with the range. If it happens one more time, I will leave them and I'll ask for my money back. But I have no problem with American Home Shield. They have done everything they said they were going to do for me. It's with their vendors that I had issues with.

I had a plumbing issue. I was putting in a new faucet in the kitchen sink and somehow, I couldn't get the hoses to go back on correctly. Pipes had also come loose. Discount Contractors came out to look over my hot and cold water hookup and got it hooked up corrrectly. AHS service has been beneficial to me. It saves me money and they got a quick reaction. Their deposit is a little steep, though. Because if I call a plumber up or anybody, I automatically pay a $100 deductible. If I'm paying AHS on a monthly basis, I don't think I should be paying $100 deductible. I should be paying less than $100. They also don't notify me when they haven't gotten the monthly payment. They only notify me when it's late.

The AC wasn't working at all and when Complete Air Mechanical came out, it was just the fuse that they turned back on. They were supposed to troubleshoot it and see why the AC wasn't working. The tech said that the air handler wasn't on. He went to the fuse box and turned it on. The second trip he came out and he opened up the air handler, he saw that there was a short in one of the wires and he said that was why the fuse went off. Then, he said my compressor wasn't working. He told me they will order a new compressor. We're just gonna buy a new air conditioning unit and put it in so that we don't have to keep going through this.
He should have looked and found out why the first time the unit wasn't working rather than flipped the switch. There's got to be a reason why the switch flipped. Other than that, he was pretty personable. His name was Chris. They didn't take any money from me. On the second time, he just looked at the compressor and said it wasn't working and that we needed to purchase a new one and if we wanted to, they could order it for us. It would take three weeks. The price was 650. My wife and I talked about it and we said, "Hey, we keep putting money in this thing every year. Let's just buy a new one and get it over and done with."
From a business point, I understand that American Home Shield tries to save money by repairing it. But on another note, I don't think they're looking at it on the customer's behalf and saying that, "This customer, every single year, has to call us to do something to this air conditioning unit. They need a new one and we're going to suggest that." On that note I would give Home Shield not a great rating. They are very responsive. If I put the message on the app that I need service, they charge me immediately and they get me somebody here within two or three days. Initially, they would get you somebody here within 24 hours. Now, it's two to three days.
I wish that they would follow up, too, like they would call us after a job is done to tell us if everything went well, are there any complaints that we had with the service or what do I think they can do to help us get this done. We live in Florida. It's 100 degrees every day and we went three weeks with no AC. There was no follow-up. That was the other reason why we decided to just get a new AC. A friend of mine referred me to American Home Shield and she said when she first got it, the same issue happened to her and they got her a new AC. We did not get that service, so we just decided to go out on our own and pay for our own. My wife wants more options.

Technicians had to replace the heating element of my AC. A guy came and found the problem within 20 minutes. It then took two days to get a part in. A second guy came in three days and it took him about an hour replacing it all and getting the AC to come up. With American Home Shield, I like the ease of getting something replaced. The one thing I had a problem with is there were some companies that didn't service me. It took a couple of different calls to get the right person out to my place. About 16 years ago, the floor furnace of the house we were getting ready to sell quit working. The contractor that AHS sent out said they didn't make the furnace anymore and they couldn't help us. I hated AHS all this time. But I like them better now. When I called them, they got back to me in less than five minutes. They told me what was approved and what wasn't. Then they arranged for a contractor. The technician came out and fixed the garage door. He was excellent. He's 26 years old and a wise man in his own time.

American Home Shield has saved us millions of times. They just recently replaced our pool pump, and that's a huge expense. And we got the pool covered. Besides sometimes the wait time on the phone, it was great. Because we only had to pay the one deductible and AHS kept sending the contractor out until the problem was fixed.
Recently, there was no cool air coming out of the ac. It was a grinding noise. The blower was stopping and, say it was set on 72 degrees, it was like 76 or 77. It was just blowing hot air. I got online. The AHS website is easy to follow and file a claim. I got a message that "You've been assigned so and so to come check your air." I was unhappy the first day the tech came out because we had heard the grinding noise and shut it down. It was obvious something was going wrong and the guy could hear it a bit. He said, "Well, it could be the blower, but I'm not quite sure. So, I can't really change it out without being more sure what's going on, blah, blah, blah." It didn't make sense to me. And he said, "Right now, it seems like it's running." But within two minutes of him leaving, the grinding noise started back again. So, I had to call back.
I did a video and sent it to him. So, they had to come back out, and it was him again. He switched out a blade. He didn't change out the part he stated himself he thought was going out. He said it looked a little bent and maybe it was just rubbing against something, and that should do it. So, again, within a few minutes of leaving, it started again. So, I recorded again and sent it to him. I had his cell number by this point, so I sent it to him directly. He never responded to me. I guess I was on his nerves. So, I had to call back. Each time I had to call back to AHS, I stayed on the phone forever. And I told them, "I'm really upset. He, himself, stated he thinks he knows what the problem is but is not convinced enough to do it."
So, on the third time, when the guy came out, really nice guy and he said, "Oh, well, it's really obvious, your blower's going out." and replaced it. And everything has been perfect. I don't know if there are certain stipulations like, "Don't replace a part unless you can prove that's what it is." Or if they had some kind of rule. But the other guy that came the third time wasn't even here 25 minutes and had the blower replaced and done. So, it took three times for something that took 25 minutes to fix. If you're sure that you know what the issue is, why not go ahead and fix what you think that is? The first guy made a comment he has been doing this 18 years. I would think he knew that's what it was.

I had worked with the tech often because I had been having a lot of problems with my heat pump. So, it wasn't ever like a surprise someone else was coming. Everything was great. He replaced my indoor and outdoor heat pump unit. Also, he replaced some of the ductwork, but I paid for that out of pocket. I was selling my house and the inspector for the buyer pointed out to me that two of the eyes on the stove did not work. I had to have it fixed before closing. When I sent the request in, American Home Shield sent me a text saying that they would be 10 more days before they could have anybody there. The repair guy came out eventually on the 30th and he managed to, so called, fix it. I wasn't cooking because I had to have the kitchen cleaned and I didn't want to mess up anything. It just so happened that on the 5th, I turned the stove on and it didn't do anything.
I was closing in two days. Needless to say, I contacted American Home Shield then I went through umpteen people because they kept putting me on hold and I kept getting cut off. By the time that day ended, which is a Wednesday of the 6th, I was totally frustrated. Finally, I got so angry and told the lady, “If my house doesn't close, I will be in court with American Home Shield. Because I will sue for the money that I'm losing on this sale.” Nobody came out though. I sold the house on the 7th and just did not say anything to the buyer. I was hoping that maybe the stove will decide to come on at some point.
It was piss-poor at customer service and at this point, American Home Shield wouldn't even get a referral from me. They didn't take my timetable into consideration. The fact that the man fixed it and it didn't work a week later, they should have had somebody out there because everybody knew that I was selling the house. This was the worst experience I've had. It’s like they're limited on contractors, or at least they make it seem like it. They have people that don't even speak English as well. I've got to figure out what was they said before I can answer their question.

I've been in and out of town. When I was in town, I had several things taken care of and the providers did a good job. One of the items was a leakage in my washer and dryer and I didn't have to worry about that while I was out of town. The people that did the servicing came out the same day. I really liked that because I explained I had to go out of town to take care of my brother. I'm very satisfied. In terms of warranty though, I'm very disappointed. I'm still having an issue about my air conditioner and prior to when it stopped working, it had been less than a month when I had it inspected for the summer.
The provider American Home Shield sent out to check it and make the repairs explained what was going on with it, and they shut it off from outside. The provider sent me an email that said they would repair it, but American Home Shield said that I would have to pay $1,200. I told the provider I would need to call American Home Shield. I want them to take care of it without me having to pay $1,200. The air conditioner is relatively new. In fact, American Home Shield had it installed with their provider a couple of years ago and whatever they did inside, I paid $400. I've also done my part by getting maintenance annually.
I'm a little frustrated. If this air conditioner has gone out in such a short period of time, either it's a faulty product or someone did something wrong, or it's poor quality. It's something that I didn't cause and I don't see why I have to pay $1,200. American Home Shield needs to pay for it. I pay my bill regularly. At one time, I had two houses, my parent's house and my home. I've been a good customer and I don't abuse anything.

When I call American Home Shield, they react really, really slow. Every time I have to get an expensive bill, they have to argue about it, and they deny it and then I have to justify it. On my water heater claim, they covered it after I tried to sue them for breach of fiduciary relationship. Half the time they don't want to pay what they say. But it's okay. I put them on Twitter and Facebook, as much bad publicity as I can. They should be more proactive with their customers. They should follow up once something got done. But Plumbers, Inc was good. I had an issue with my washing machine and a tech was quick to come out. This was the second time that American Home Shield called him to come out. He was with Better Baker and his company was a good one. The people that came before didn't come out as quickly. Their tech seemed to have a problem understanding what I was trying to tell him. I always stick around and try to learn things. I was trying to tell the tech what was wrong exactly. I also had a tech before that came for my air conditioner and he didn't listen.
But the one from Better Baker was very good about his job and he answered all my questions. He had fixed the washing machine and he did it in a timely manner. I didn't have to wait so long for the part to be ordered as I did with another person where the part that was ordered took almost two months, which was ridiculous. This time, I was trying to do a recall because even though the Better Baker tech fixed the washing machine, it is making a noise really loud. That could be the belt.
I call American Hoem Shield and a lot of times, I tell them I forgot my number. I have a southern accent and sometimes customer service has trouble understanding me. Doing things over the phone could be a pain in the butt. But once they get it, they're pretty good and would tell me the company I am assigned to and that they would call me or I could call them.
I wish American Home Shield covered more because there are certain things that they won't cover. These are stuff you have to learn as you go. We had a slab leak this past February. They sent Prime Plumbing and their tech was so rushed. Usually, techs are only rushed when it comes to dealing with the AC in the summer. The Prime Plumbing tech didn't really go into a thorough check and we ended up having to pay for things ourselves. The tech told me American Home Shield would only pay for a certain amount. After I've learned what I learned, I realize they didn't really handle things right. That company never called me back. I even called and spoke to a lady and told her I wanted to speak to the boss. The boss did not call me back.
Most of the time, I'm not displeased with American Home Shield. If you don't have a home warranty and something messes up, you're gonna pay a lot more out of your pocket. If you don't know who to call, you try to think of one. When we had to get that slab leak fixed, we were facing all these names and wondered who to call and trust. There are some dishonest people and I've heard so many horror stories. With American Home Shield, if they send someone out here, they check them out before they go with them.

American Home Shield's claim process is great. When I schedule an appointment, people come out and take a look at things. It's just that, in the situation wherein my InSinkErator garbage disposal stopped working, they should have replaced it first because it was over 10 years old. The first time somebody from Budget Rooter came out, they used an Allen key and turned something underneath the garbage disposal. It started working, but in a month, it stopped again. We called then they came, did the same thing and got the garbage disposal rotating again. Clearly though, there was an issue with it. On the third time, the individual who came got a new part out and just replaced it. It was done in a couple of hours. However, if I count 125 bucks every service, it will cost me the same for a garbage disposal and the $100 installation.

I have a dual-zone home and one of the capacitors was blue on the primary unit. Technicians were able to be here the next day and they were on time. They were nice and they got the problem fixed quickly. Everything is working well now. I replaced that capacitor out of pocket twice and I used American Home Shield once. They got $400. The couple bucks I pay monthly on AC alone is a worthwhile investment considering they're older units.

I stopped the service with American Home Shield because I'm getting ready to do travel work with healthcare, so I won't be here. Other than that, everything was fine. I submitted a claim with AHS because the AC had iced up and was not cooling. The tech came out that same day. He was very nice. He did some things and then he turned it on, but it was still blowing warm air. He went outside and came back in to tell me that it was low on Freon and that he was going to need to put 3 lbs. in. He also said that the coils were leaking, and that needed to be replaced. That I also needed a whole new AC and that he was going to go ahead and put the Freon in it, but he couldn't guarantee how long that was going to last. American Home Shield will only pay 10. I got hit with another $255 on top of the $75 service cost. It started to cool on a Wednesday but by Friday afternoon, it was blowing warm air out again.
During the time of him putting the Freon in and coming inside, he was really pushing a new unit. Their unit was $6,900, American Home Shield would pay around $450, which would leave me $6,400. He went out and got all the paperwork. I went ahead and paid the $255, and he said, "If you will go and do a new unit, we will forego the $255." It would be like a service and they wouldn't cash the check. I got estimates from other air conditioner companies. Because $450 of $6,000 isn't a big deal. He got a unit much cheaper and just didn't go under AHS. I was not happy. AHS clearly says on the website, "We are not to pay them anything at the door." But yet, he insisted I pay him $255 for the freon.
He said, "You can call and cancel your AHS. You don't need the air condition." I got to thinking, after we put the new unit in, I don't need air condition now. Because this unit that I got with another company came with a much better warranty, 10 years on the air condition and 10 years warranty, parts and labor. Which their company didn't offer. They only offered a year on parts and labor. So it's a better warranty.
So, I had called AHS to cancel. I was gonna go with another company. Because I was paying $72.99 a month. It's just gone up over the past 12 years. I started at $42, and now we're up to $72. But the lady told me they had some other plans. I don't use it often, so I went ahead and upped that and she put me on a different plan, which is supposed to be $48 a month. I've also had a few plumbing things and they sent a plumber to come right out. The old air conditioner fan motors went out and they came out and replaced it right away.

I'm okay with American Home Shield's overall service but it's inconsistent. Sometimes they don't know what their contractors are doing and what they're doing. I had an issue where the contractor says one thing, AHS says another and nothing gets done - especially on a recall issue. The contractor came for the initial ticket and fixed it without going back to Home Shield. But he didn't fix the subject. So, I called them out again and said what was wrong. When they tried to get in touch with Home Shield, they said they needed to get a recall ticket. It was about a week being stuck between the contractor and AHS to get the problem solved. Presently, I'm waiting for the contractor to come from a ticket that was issued over two weeks ago. And that’s with an AC as well and it's been hot recently.

I heard rave reviews about American Shield being good. But they have vendors like Island Mann Plumbing that has really taken down the face of American Shield. I also didn't have any problems with Island Mann until something happened to my bathroom. It’s not flooded but water covered all the floor and it leaked down to the second floor. A supervisor came out and looked if there were any damages. The guy turned off the thing at the manifold to turn the water off upstairs. But when he turned it back on, it started gushing again.
I'm truly, to my core, disappointed that I reported this to American Home Shield. I forwarded the video and pictures to the company. When the field supervisor from Island Mann Plumbing came out, I told him. He asked if the damage was there before. I said, “The damage under the counter wasn’t there. That wood was not sunken in.” He tried to make it seem like that was the only reason they were changing the faucet. It wasn’t leaking but it was just turning. They then replaced the faucet upstairs that caused all that issue. They changed out my faucet with one that’s not similar. I understood what American Home Shield was telling me that they don't replace to the brand or finishing. But I'm not asking for that. I'm just asking for a faucet that’s similar and of the same height.
I got this faucet fit down to the sink. American Shield didn't even get anything similar. I said, “The part that you pull out, it’s not the height of the faucet.” What the technicians did was they got one out of their truck then they billed American Home Shield for those cheap faucets. The faucet upstairs and the one in the kitchen were $200. It was ripoff. American Home Shield said there was nothing they could do. Why are they approving these vendors who can do whatever they want to us? That puts a sour taste in my mouth.
That aside, the representatives that I spoke to were at least really trying to help me. But I was transferred from Island Mann to Sun King Construction for the plumbing. I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau and they are working with a 45. This led me to believe that negativity in what I read is a little true. American Home Shield needs to take time to review the process they have in selecting their vendors. I read about how rude the people were and I experienced everything that those people were saying with each vendor that was sent out, except for SJDI. They were thorough and they did a phenomenal job.
American Home Shield came to me via my cousin. I told him what was going on and he said that they had an issue once or twice and American Home Shield helped them. Everybody should do their research and make sure that when a vendor is assigned, they look the vendor up, look at the reviews, and immediately contact American Home Shield to see if it's okay to switch vendors. I don't like that we don't have that option like some companies. I've done my research of other companies I'm thinking of changing to. Even if I have to pay more money, I would like to have the option that we look at who’s being selected. American Home Shield only have two plumbers that they give you. It’s the Island Plumbing and Sun King. Both of them are bad.

The oven wasn't working and I called Home Shield to have someone check it out. The technician came all the way from the other end of Jersey, which is like a two-and-a-half-hour ride for him. I don't know why they did not pick a technician within the area. When he showed up, he was very impatient. He did not want to come back and follow up with anything else. He said it was a part and he ordered it.
I was out of the country because of my job when the tech was supposed to come back and he never showed up. When I came back from my deployment, I started calling, asking what was going on. By then, it had been about three months. They informed me that the technician claimed that the issue looked like it was an issue that had been there before. How can somebody make a diagnosis of an issue and claim that 'Well, I think that this problem has been there before.'
I confronted them and we went back and forth. I put in a claim with Home Shield and when they noticed that I put the claim, their story started changing all over the place. Eventually, I canceled the service and Home Shield started calling me back and requested that I pay a membership fee. They said if I pay the last membership fee, they would send a new technician out to check it and I got to pay another $100. I agreed and a second technician came out. He checked the stuff and said that the problem is the motherboard. They made an attempt to fix it but eventually, Home Shield realized that the technician couldn't fix it and they replaced my stove.
What I would like to see handled differently is when they are dealing with customers, I would rather see them send their own people that represent them instead of taking up a technician’s word. I would love to see them send their own people to do a proper evaluation and assure the customer that the issue will be resolved rather than go back and forth, making false claims. Other than that, I'm somewhat satisfied with the end result. But the replacement stove came damaged so now, I still have to wait for another one. I'm willing to be a little patient.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them. When I moved in the house, a friend of mine sent a plumber out to my house who did absolutely nothing and charged me $200. I later found out from someone from AHS that it was not a plumbing issue but an electrical one. It was the AC/DC port and all he did was push that to turn the Jacuzzi on in the master bedroom.

There was rust, glue, and dirt in the tub. It was horrible. I destroyed 12 designer whites and had to throw them in the trash because they got so stained.
American Home Shield contacted The Supreme Group. American Home Shield gave me the number of the company so that I could call them or they could call me. I called the company and a young lady answered the phone. I told her what I had done and she said they hadn't come across from American Home Shield yet. I told her I was calling because I couldn't live in the house with five people with no washer. I was trying to speed up the process. But there was nothing she could do until American Home Sheild sent a ticket.
I got an appointment in five days and the techs were here on time. They had been to my house before for my oven. In the end, I was told that the washer was unrepairable. When American Home Shield told me that they had to replace the washer, they sent an email with selections that I could choose from or I had the option to buy my own. I chose the latter. It wouldn't make sense for me to replace the 18-year old washer and not the 18-year old dryer. I had both of them put in my home when the home was built. I needed to upgrade and I chose to buy a matching set. Overall, the process was painless.

I ended up having three guys to do the job on my AC claim. The first one came out, said it was a thermostat and he replaced that. About three days later, the unit quit again. Another guy came out. He got into the air handler and said that there was a short and he couldn't work on it because Orange County Utilities had an Energy Saver module hooked up, which I have hooked up to both air conditioners, both hot water heaters, my pool pump and so on and so forth. He said he couldn't work on it until they come out and unhook it. So, I had to get Orange County to come out and unhook it. I was out of town, unfortunately, and he also told my wife some stuff such that energy saving unit wasn't good for the air conditioner. Another guy came out, serviced the unit and said there was a short in a line going out to the air conditioner unit and a possible short or a bad circuit board.
He said he bypassed something because there was some kind of system out of the air conditioner that had like a defrost unit there. He got the unit to work while he ordered a circuit board. He got the circuit board, came back out, and when he ordered the circuit board, he told me that I had a short in a wire also. He said the wiring is not covered. I said, “Well, I have Platinum policy with Home Shield. So, I think it's got $1,000 worth of electrical wiring in the plan.” He said he'll check on that. I didn't hear anything back. He came out a few days later with the new circuit board, put the circuit board in, pulled the old one out and said, “Oh, yeah, there's a short in the circuit board, evidently.” I said, “Well, what about the wire?” He said, “No, there's no shortage in the wire. It was the circuit board.” So, he put that in. It's been working fine. Orange County just came back today and hooked back up my energy saving device.
So far, everything's been working good. But I just don't have a good feeling about the guys knowing what they were doing when three guys came out, and one replaced the thermostat. I had a two-phase. He pulled that out and said, “You don't need a two-phase or two-stage unit.” So, he put a one-stage thermostat in replacement of it, which is probably fine. But in the old unit, I could see the outside air temperature and the inside air temperature. So, it gives you an idea maybe where I want to set my thermostat. Because if it gets hotter, I'll let my inside temperature go up a little bit warmer since it's so hot outside. You can monitor it.
He said, “Yeah, you don't need it. It's not needed or anything like that.” So, I don't even know the thermostat was even bad because it may have just been the short in the air handler module or circuit board that created what he thought was a thermostat issue because three days later, it wasn't the thermostat because it went out. They came back out again to look at it. Overall, American Home Shield does not go with the cheapest guys but there is that thought process that if you get a guy here that doesn't know what he's doing, takes three tries, they're replacing things that maybe didn't need replacing, maybe AHS should find a little bit better contractor.

The AC unit stopped working. The internal blower was still working, but there was no cold air coming out. So, we contacted American Home Shield using their website and did a service call. The next day, we were contacted by the air conditioning company and they were out very quickly to take care of it. It was also simple to get through to AHS. The website's easy to navigate and I have noticed that you can create more than one service order at a time if you want to. So, it seems pretty intuitive and I'm happy with it. We've done two claims so far and both have been for the same air conditioning unit that we believe is on its last leg. In both times, it was for same problem and we got the same solution. The two service technicians who came out were from different companies but they had the same quick response rate and were both very helpful.

My dishwasher was not draining. Also, when we came back from vacation, my microwave was making a loud popping noise. We got through to American Home Shield after a 10-minute wait. When I got through, the experience was easy. They gave me all the information and when the tech was on the way, they called. The first time, we did a video conference with a company so they could see the problem and have an idea of what they're working on. The guy got a picture of the model number that I was acquiring. The tech came in a couple of days later and he knew what he was coming to look at it and he had some parts already for one of the items. The other parts, he had to get a closer look. Now, the dishwasher and microwave are working. For the refrigerator, the item is not covered so we have to try to order the part and go from there. I was satisfied with the company and dissatisfied with AHS as well because we've had them for 15 years now.
American Home Shield has taken the worries of what happens when anything breaks down. When something breaks down, I just give them a call and someone will look at my problem. I trust whoever they send that they're going to do a better job because they have to answer to AHS. The warranty costs a little bit per year because everything has gone up but the experience once you have one claim normally pays for most of the year's claim. I see how much money I've spent for 15 years. But in the peace of mind, it’s easier to do than to worry about how much it's gonna cost to fix my issue.

American Home Shield has been great every issue. I've had some work men sent over within two days. While they were minor, the stuff was fixed and I didn't hear anything from AHS. So, it seems everything gets approved. The techs are very informative and on time. I've had some big appliances go, and AHS has replaced them with equal or more of value. At this point it's hard to find people AHS can get out quickly. There's a lot of work going on in Austin where we live. And with the people that AHS has, they are usually there within 48 hours. Because they are not there to sell AHS' services, they are there to fix it. So, that's always nice.

I went through the app of AHS to submit a claim. Then I chatted with a rep of AHS. It was nice. We were having a disconnect through the chat, so she ended up just calling me, which made it so much better ‘cause we were on two different pages. Then after she called, we got on the same page. She put in my order to have the tech come out to look at the unit. The tech that came said that my Freon was leaking. He said that I had to put another order in order for him to come back out.
In the first unit, he refilled the Freon. That unit is upstairs, so the kids were very happy. Then for the downstairs one, I was happy and satisfied because the tech caught it before it got worse, ‘cause I would hate to be in the winter and have no heat and I have to call back to have someone come out and repair. It was reassuring of having that ability to know beforehand before something gets worse.
There were two different gentlemen. Both times were nice and informative. The second time the guy came out, he changed all three of my filters for me ‘cause I couldn't reach them. That was very nice of him to do that for me. He was very nice. That was the reason why I asked for that company specifically to come out the second time. I'm very satisfied with AHS.

We had an AC issue recently. There was some noise that was being made. I was satisfied with the service I received there. But when it comes to plumbing, it's a disaster. They will not move from the one person they assigned and those people are totally overbooked. When a client is asking to have a different provider assigned and AHS knows that that assigned person is already booked for two weeks, AHS should attempt at least to get another provider on for them. But other than plumbing, I've had okay service.

My hot water heater wasn't getting hot and when I looked in there, the light wasn't on. I submitted a claim and American Home Shield sent me my claim number and the number of the vendor that was going to be coming out. It was excellent with the contractor, Bestway Mechanical, but it was mroe than 24 hours before they came out. When you have something as critical as no hot water or your plumbing is out, it needs to be some type of emergency service. But they explained to me what was wrong and everything was excellent, except I've noticed that my water pressure in the kitchen is not as strong as it was before I had that service done. Also, I was a little disappointed with American Home Shield that I still had to pay out of pocket because I had to have my whole hot water heater replaced and I had to pay more than my service fee. Other than that, I love them. That's the reason I stayed with them for 10 years.

It has been a really rough year with American Home Shield, but in the past, it's been wonderful. This year, the service has been slow and I'm hoping it's because of COVID. When my washing machine stopped and wouldn't drain and finish the cycle, American Home Shield initially signed me up with GE and it was going to be two weeks. I called back and Tech-Tonics was able to come out that day. They repaired it that same day and it worked for three days then something burnt out. I had to call back, and Tech-Tonics came out the next day and fixed it. It's the second time I've used them for something and they were great. I wish they would come every time I had something.

The refrigerator handle on my freezer is broken. Home Shield contracted out the job to Universal. They got the part and a tech was supposed to come out last Friday. But on Thursday, they called me and said that no one was gonna come Friday because the guy called out he would come Saturday. I said okay and the schedule was set for the same time at 11:00 to 3:00.
On Saturday morning, someone called me at 8:15 and said they wanted to make sure that somebody would be there because the tech was coming out. I said we would be there. 3:00 came and went so I called. Nobody answered the phone so I left a message. Somebody called me back within half an hour and said he was calling to reschedule my appointment. I asked why a tech didn't come that day and was told that someone called in morning to confirm and I didn't answer the phone. I said, "Excuse me, not only did I speak to someone, he sent me a confirmation email saying they would be there between 11:00 and 3:00, and then no one came."
I needed an appointment so that person I was talking to gave me one for Thursday morning. I was going to be the first one on the list. But he never sent me a confirmation email. On Monday, I called and I was told that I was not in the book. I didn't have an appointment set up yet. Someone would call me in 48 hours to make an appointment. I called Home Shield to tell them what happened and the rep said she would call Universal. They could deal with her directly so that I wouldn't have to put up with the bother. Universal told the rep that the guy didn't come because he had an emergency. The Home Shield rep then never called me.
On Wednesday, I called Universal back and the rep there said I was scheduled for the following morning and I was the first appointment. But I still had not gotten the confirmation email. He said that the scheduler just put it in his notes and not in the system." Yesterday morning, a tech came. He had the wrong handle to the door, he didn't have screws, and some other piece was missing. But the person I originally did the virtual call with looked at the door, got the serial number, and the model number. Now, they have to order the parts all over again. I also usually get a confirmation email saying, "Your parts have been ordered." I got nothing this time. I had a problem one other time and it was the same thing where people did not show when they were supposed to. But in the past, I had no problems.

The AC was freezing up and it was blowing hot air. When the techs first called to set up an appointment, I told them that the day they wanted to come, I had a doctor's appointment. They said, "Okay. That's fine." I told them I needed to know what time they would come. I said I'd prefer early in the morning if possible. They said, "Okay. That should be fine. I'll let your tech know."
The day of, they called and told me that they wouldn't be there till 2 o'clock. My appointment was at 2 o'clock, so I was having issues there. I called them but they said that they couldn't. I said okay. So I called my doctor's office and thankfully they had time to reschedule me. I went ahead and rescheduled it. My doctor's appointment was in the morning and their appointment was in the afternoon.
As I was on my way to the doctor's office, they called me and said, "We're on our way to your house now." I told them that would not work for me. I already rescheduled. The tech said, "I was hoping you didn't reschedule." I said, "When I spoke with your person earlier, they said that you told them there was no way that you would be able to get to my house early in the morning." He said, "We were able to get through a few house calls fairly quickly. So we're able to come to your house now. We're on our way."
I said, "I need something later because I'm on my way to the doctor's." They said, "Okay. We can go see the next person, skip you and go see the next person. And if we can get to you after that then great. We'll let you know whenever we're done." I went to my doctor's appointment and I got out of there. They ended up skipping me twice and then they finally ended up showing up. They were knowledgeable and they solved the issue fairly quickly. Luckily, it wasn't too bad.
I had to change out the air filter. The tech tested my refrigerant to make sure it was where it needed to be. He said it was fine. I have dogs and he said, "You need to try and change this more often." He explained to me why it could be clogged was because of the dogs, especially because my return vent is so low. He also cleaned up my AC unit outside and he said that should take care of it. So far, so good. I haven't had any issues since.
However, I've had issues in the past with people that AHS sent out doing a real ** job and just trying to get in and get out. I've called and complained about it to AHS. But then they kept sending people out, different companies, which really helped out a lot until I finally got one that really was patient. He did a thorough job and helped us out. It's been a love-hate relationship.

Back in the day, when we were in the villages, AHS used to say repair or replace. And they were pretty much on top of everything to repair. But I did something very stupid. Right before we left there, our air conditioner went out and it was covered. And I had forgotten that I had American Home Shield. So, I bought a new air conditioner. I called them and I guess they won't do any coverage, after the fact. In this place, my garbage disposal went out. And again, because it was leaking all over the kitchen floor, I had to get it fixed right away. The plumber came and got me a new one. AHS said to me that once the job is done, I can't do a claim.
Recently, we had a flood in our villa. I had a plumber come right away to stop the water. I called my homeowners insurance and they said they do not handle leaks. So then, I called American Home Shield and they said, “Yes, leaks are covered.” They sent out His and Hers Plumbing to stop the leak. They were excellent. The job they did looks great.
But now it has turned into a nightmare and there's mold in our house. I'm at my wit's end because I have a lung disease. So, I can't go back into the house, even though the insurance company told me a couple of weeks ago that once there's running water in the toilet, that means your house is habitable. Almost a month later, we're not back in our house, and nothing's been done yet.

I wouldn't recommend AHS to anybody. Our experience with them has not been good. Early this year, my washing machine went out. The guy that came out to look at it said they didn't make the part that was needed anymore. I said, “Oh, good. Then it won’t take long for them to make a decision to replace it.” He said, “Oh, no. It'll take them a while.” Sure enough, two months I went without a washing machine. It was ridiculous. I had to send out my laundry to some company to do, send it back to me. That was unacceptable to me.
The first year I had them, my dishwasher went out. Same thing. Took two months, at least. They don't want to spend the money to replace something, and that's obvious. So what most people would have done is just go out and buy a washing machine, I was told, and then they would have been free of having to replace it. But I wasn’t gonna do that. I had that warranty and I was going to use it. But I ended up having to wait.
When there's a problem, they should respond to it instead of putting people off. I'd call them every week to check with the company. They would still say that they were waiting for the part. I said, “There's no part to wait on.” But it was like talking to the ball. I’d just hung up because I'd get tired of talking to them. They wouldn't listen to me.

American Home Shield's claim process is super simple and you don't have to fill out too much information. Once a tech gets assigned, they figure all that stuff out. It's user-friendly and easy to get scheduled. I really enjoy the service that American Home Shield provides. We used their service when the shower in the upstairs bathroom was leaking through the floor and through one of the light fixtures downstairs. When a technician came out, he found that the threading on the shower arm that comes out of the wall completely cracked off. The shower arm fell out right when we tried to take it off. That was where the leak was coming from.
The technician replaced the shower arm and that seemed to fix the problem. Everything is working great right now and there is no more leak happening. The person who came out to inspect everything came back out after the leak was fixed and found that all the moisture in the ceiling was gone. Everything dried up really nicely.

Once they did that, they called me back and scheduled a time for the dryer to be serviced. My only issue is it takes three weeks for them to come out initially. I wish the waiting time wouldn't be so long. Other than that, their tech came out and the issue ended up being a couple of more things than what they had told us. The tech had the parts and he fixed everything. The dryer is working well now. I've always had a good experience with American Home Shield. They've always fixed everything that happened. I referred the home warranty to my in-laws and they have them too.
I apologize for the inconvenience. My name is Stacy & I've just sent you an email to obtain more information about your experience & assist with unresolved issues. I look forward to speaking with you.

I've had great experiences with the several technicians that have come out for the claims I've had. They've always been very respectful and professional. When I get a good technician and if I have a problem that I know that same technician or that company does, I request that same company. That has worked out well. I'm not a shy person. I will ask for what I want so there's no confusion and people generally respond.
I had a service request for an appliance repair recently and the issue was fixed. American Home Shield has been the best thing for me. I don't have to pay the full price for whatever repair that I need to be done, even though I know I'm paying so much every month and that equals so much a year. But the fact is it's easier for me to pay that small amount a month than for something big to happen and not to have a chunk of money at one time.

I wasn't too happy on the stove claim because I had to call American Home Shield twice then I had to pay twice. Maybe it was a little bit of my fault because I waited. I'm not gonna judge them on that issue. On the second time they came, the guy checked the AC and he replaced a capacitor. He was okay and was very knowledgeable. So far, so good.
American Home Shield do keep the appointments. I just wish on emergencies like if somebody calls about the AC, they should at least get somebody to come the next day. On another stuff, I could wait two or three days but when it was hot outside, and I spent almost two and a half days with no AC, at least they could have gotten somebody to come the next day.

The last issue about my home was really crucial so I needed to get someone on the phone at AHS. Initially, I was told that the tech wasn't going to come until four days later. So, I called AHS back asking for escalation in my ticket because it was something dealing with gas. They reached back out to them and I don't know what they did but the tech said he'd be out the next day. He was great and he called me before he got there to let me know that he was 30 minutes out. My AC would not get cold and the repair company has been out six times. They never take too long to come, but we've done the Freon then they had to change a board. The last technician that came out seemed good. He told me that it's very wet inside of the box that it's in and that it needs to dry out, but he doesn't even know that it can dry out. We're getting conflicting answers as to what the problem is and it costs me 100 bucks every time they come out. I have no idea what the problem is or if it's fixed or I'm gonna continue to have issues with it. Another thing is, American Home Shield didn't cover the Freon. I also had a pool issue wherein I called before I started the claim. "Is this something that's covered?" "Oh, it's covered." Someone came out, and it was not covered. I'm debating whether or not to renew.

We’ve had some plumbing repairs, and I was particularly impressed by Barlow Plumbing. The job that was really memorable was when we had a toilet in the hallway bathroom that needed to be reset. The technician was good. His name is Andrew and he did an incredibly professional and thorough job. I've never seen anybody work both knowledgeably and confidently. He reset a toilet that we have had to have reset over the many years we've had this house. I'd be surprised if it doesn't last another 5 or 10 years. That job he did, he knew what he was doing. He didn't just put a new ring on, bolt it down and go away. That was a good job, and they get an A-plus.
The fellow from the electrical company that came by this last week did a super good job too. While he was here and at no charge to us or to American Home Shield, he quickly did some checks in the area where he was working. He tightened up a couple of wall outlets that were loose and hadn't been put up right. That's the kind of thoughtfulness when they're here that I really appreciate. They find things that aren't gonna be a future work order, and it saves us money. I’ve been quite pleased.
The responses have also been rather quick. We weren't shut down on anything, to any real inconvenience. We haven't had any calls to American Home Shield in quite a long time, but things seem to come in bunches. We're paying attention to the property right now because we’re getting it ready for sale. My Realtor is gonna urge anyone who buys it to continue the coverage with American Home Shield because it's proven to be a good investment, and we're also thinking hard about adding a policy for our own home where we live.

We had Bennett Appliance come for a claim and they were fantastic. Their guy was very respectful of my husband's health situation. My husband has cancer and he's in treatment. When we asked that the guy please have his personal protective gear on, he did that. He didn't question or argue the point. He got his work done and cleaned up after himself. He had to order a part for a replacement. He explained to us what the problem was and how long it would take to get the part. He notified us when the part came in. He worked around my husband's medical appointment schedule. He then replaced the part quickly.
We've had American Home Shield for many years and we've been always happy with the service they provide. But we were disappointed to find out that it costs the same now to cover our new home and new appliances as it did when we bought old homes with old appliances. We received an offer recently from a similar company and at the price that we used to pay when we had our last new home. As much as I hate the increase in the rates of American Home Shield, we've always had good service. We have always had a quick response, so we'll stay with American Home Shield.

It was great service. The guy, Chris, was great. He replaced the pump. It's good now. It's working.
I have other issues like my AC where they took more than a month to fix. On my refrigerator, the company they used was not trusted. They came in. I used a different home warranty program and I gave them up for American Home Shield. The claim submission process is very straightforward and easy to do. The web application on your phone is very easy and simple. If anything, the confusion comes in with the provider. But the submission process is very solid. It would be nice though to be able to say I would prefer my vendors I've already used versus others. I had no problem with AJ Appliance Service and I've used them twice since the pandemic. The first time, it took them a very long time to get parts but that was an issue with the distributor. It was not AJ’s fault. They were very good and provided a tremendous amount of detail. It was almost too detailed but it was what they were supposed to do, and that was not a negative.
One of the reasons why it's nice to have a home warranty is, it's very straightforward. You don't have to go find somebody nor haggle stuff. There was one time when I had to get a replacement done and it was difficult to get a follow up. But that was during COVID when everyone was breaking their stuff and having to get replacements done. Still, it felt like it disappeared a little bit into the ether. I spent $600 out of pocket to replace the washing machine and it took a while to get the claim processed appropriately. The agents that I spoke to were international so it was tough to get them on the phone, and there was a language issue. But it's not that out of hand from anything. That was from a customer service standpoint of what I would’ve preferred. I’d love if American Home Shield would lower their upfront rates. But you gotta pay them to keep them in business and it's probably fine. They should keep up the good work.
Chris,

I had a leaking water problem and dripping water from the main multi-valve. I called American Home Shield and Reflection Pools called me to find out what the issue was. I told them that I had filter material coming back into my pool and an issue with my filter as well. There were holes in a couple of the grid sets and the techs fixed it. Also, they replaced the top part of the multi-valve to fix the leak.
Reflection Pools has been the principal company that has come. The only reason I keep my AHS warranty is because of companies like them. They are a small company that is highly professional. They send the same person who knows the pool and they always do good work. But what annoys me is that AHS used to have an option for me to say if I wanted the same company to come out. They removed that. They sent another company previously and it took them two attempts to fix the problem. Reflection Pools diagnosed it and got it fixed. If you have a swimming pool, I would recommend American Home Shield. If you don't have a swimming pool, maybe not.

Also, the contractors are not available very quickly so you might be waiting a week to get things resolved. I used a different warranty company out of Florida and it was efficient and quicker. However, all he noticed was the Freon was low and he said, “Well, it's going to cost you for some additional Freon.” I asked, “And how much is that gonna be?” He said, “$265,” then I said, “Well, I don't think so, because I'm paying American Home Shield. So my question to you is, why should I have to pay for Freon when that is a part of my contract?” I said, “You're going to only put so much Freon in it. But you’re going to charge me for the difference of Freon that’s needed to be put into the unit.”
Had I not protested, the young man was going to charge me $265. He said it was stipulated in the contract then I said, “Then you need to read it again.” I read the contract to him and he said, “Oh.” I said, “Well, call your company. I'm looking at what it says here on my contract.” I also called and told American Home Shield what was going on. They said, “No. You’re covered.” I said, “I know I am. I read on the contract where it says that I'm covered.”
I've always dealt with American Home Shield and they're a good company. I dealt with them before when I had my home in California, and one of the reasons why I went back with them was because they stand behind their product and everything that they do for their customers. There was a leak in the AC valve and the Freon was leaking out. The AC completely froze up, and it was because of the size of the filter that was put in. We made the thickness thinner and that helped, but it still wasn't cooling. The last guy that came out and looked at it said that it looked like there was a hole in the tube. I was really glad he told me.
I called American Home Shield back and told them that they needed to check that to make sure that the hole was sealed. The young man came back out and said, “Well, I'm glad you told me about that because that's exactly what it was. There was a hole that needed to be sealed up.” I said, “You didn't notice that when you first came out?” I'm wondering if I hadn't remembered what had happened the last time, if he would have caught that.

They remedied it down at the base, but they didn't remedy it all the way up through the top and it happened again. The prior year, they did the same thing. They do a great job. My concern was it took a few days for them to get there, depending upon the schedule. I called the company directly once they were appointed again and Johnny tried, but they were busy with other projects. I had to shut my AC down and it was three days before he got there, but it wasn't the worst-case scenario. Had it been earlier in the year, it might have been a disaster.
American Home Shield has been there for me. It's both been silly problems, but it hasn't been their fault and they were quick to react. The second time this year, the claims process was blistery fast. I never talked to somebody and for automation, it was very easy. We used their service when I couldn't get my dishwasher to work and they sent Appliance Network out. The tech tried to start it and it went to smoking. He said they couldn't do anything with the dishwasher so they were gonna have to replace it. That was all well and good. I got an email and a call from American Home Shield to go online and select a dishwasher. I did that. This was where a hiccup came in. I thought American Home Shield would coincide the delivery of the dishwasher and Appliance Network coming in to install it. I got a call from JB Hunt, the delivery company, that they were on their way with a dishwasher. At that time, I was not told anything about when the tech was gonna install it. The dishwasher is sitting in the dining room right now.
I called Appliance Network and they had not received the order from American Home Shield to install. I called American Home Shield close to the weekend. They were trying to call Appliance Network. After 5:00, people go home here so American Home Shield never really got Appliance Network. I called Appliance Network back and asked them to contact American Home Shield. In the end, we got things together and they're on it now. I suggest though that when American Home Shield gets a service order and if that appliance has to be replaced, they should let whoever took that service order keep that and follow up on it. There was a glitch in that part. That aside, the service the home warranty provides is 100% excellent. On some days they have a hiccup and I'm okay with that. I responded to their 50th anniversary $125 off ad for a one year home warranty policy. Before buying, being "helped" on their phone line, I specifically asked: "My HVAC is over 20 years old.... will it be covered?" Their "cust serv rep" answered HVAC will be repaired or replaced. Here's the catch, when I made a claim for, yes, an HVAC break down, then AHS advises "in my contract" Freon is excluded less $10/pound. The "repair" AHS offers is they will charge me $100 claim deductible, $1800 Freon, and other various costs totaling over $2,000 out of pocket for my "covered" .... "repair"... of an out of date HVAC. I have had non-AHS related contractors out who advise me my equipment is NOT REPAIRABLE because the system cannot be tested for leaks or other breakdown issues without a compressor.... and forcing a customer to spend $2,000 to learn whether or not there are other issues with a 20 year old HVAC is non reasonable, non honest.
AHS is a scam business. They FAILED to apply the offered discount forcing me to spend over 2 hours on their "cust. serv." phone line. Their "licensed contractor," is in the scam of getting thousands from AHS "insured" customers out of pocket before the unit can even be properly, professionally diagnosed for true wear and failure condition. After being forced to put thousands of dollars into an obsolete unit, then if the unit still doesn't work, it's another claim deductible, more run around, and probably just for some low ball "cashout." KEEP YOUR MONEY, DON'T BUY AHS, RUN!

Finally the vendor shows up, turns off AC unit, says he'll be right back and LEAVES. NEVER CAME BACK. Through all this AHS still refused to send another vendor because the "no shows" never completed their ticket, therefore it shows them the AC repair company will be back. This was occurring over a 4 week time period. Meanwhile it's 90 degrees outside and 86 degrees inside our home and we have with small children. After the last call to AHS, and again them REFUSING to assign another vendor, we canceled our contract. THEN AHS stated they would "look" into the matter. Well, too late. And after all that AHS charged us a $49.95 cancellation fee. Never ever will I use them again!
We do appreciate your feedback and apologize that this issue has caused you to cancel your warranty. It is not our intent to cause a difficult experience, and hopes that you would consider joining the AHS team in the near future. Have a great day!

Then I called American Home Shield and they sent their people out knowing what was wrong with the unit. Warren-Hay came out and they went upstairs and said that the issue was the fan sensor. They ordered the fan sensor and it came in last Friday. So they came back on Friday and had what they thought was the part. The guy went upstairs and said, "No, this part's not gonna work. It's not the right part." I talked to the man with Warren-Hay yesterday and he said he had the part in his truck. He assured me that he would be back down next Monday to put what he hopes is going to be the part that's going to make it work.
My experience with American Home Shield is fine if I do all their work. I've also got another air condition system that had the same situation as the other unit before. The system downstairs started making some fan noise. So I called American Home Shield and they sent a company out. They came out and said, "No, we ain't working on that." So they left and that was when American Home Shield called Warren-Hay. Warren-Hay came out and said, "Well it's completely corroded. The fan bracket's gone." There was about a 14-day lapse between the time I called American Home Shield on the air conditioning system downstairs and when Warren-Hay finally came up and said they could get the part. We went 13 days with no air condition downstairs and American Home Shield didn't do anything. I canceled the service for the downstairs unit and told Warren-Hay to focus on the upstairs unit because that's where we live.
Bottom line is I've got neither one of the air condition systems that work like they're supposed to. The one upstairs is completely shut down now and it has been for the week I've been gone because I did not feel comfortable leaving the fan blowing continuously. I paid American Home Shield 150 so far for two service visits, and one of them didn't do anything. So my initial opinion of American Home Shield is not very good. But the man with Warren-Hay was a heck of a nice guy. I'll probably go with him as far as servicing the air condition when all is said and done.

I've had AHS for two years so far. It's been great. It's been beneficial. I've had to use it twice and I appreciated it both times I had it. Recently, I had a drip in the bathroom. Then there was air in the pipe like a toilet was constantly running. So, the techs came out and replaced a valve and fixed the faucet. They replaced the flapper on the toilet and it fixed it.
The contractor was awesome. The only thing that was difficult was the scheduling. It took almost two weeks to get an appointment and they had called me. Then I called them back. But nobody called me. It was just there was a little bit of a communication issue. I was glad it wasn't an urgent plumbing request. They were very professional, though. Once I got the schedule, then the tech came out and he was awesome. They had a nice app that let me know the status of where exactly he was and what time. So, it made it a lot easier to plan my day around the window that he was gonna be coming.
I work full-time and I've been able to do some things on my own. It's nice to have that assurance, like an added thing without having to use your homeowner insurance for things. Just to have the added security factor, knowing that if an appliance or my garage door opener, stops working, it's a backup insurance policy. Last year, when my policy had expired by about a month, and then I had an issue with my garbage disposal, I called to see what I could do and the agent that I spoke to was amazing. She renewed my warranty, and then she allowed me to put in the service request right away, which I really appreciated. I thought I wouldn't be able to do that. I thought it was unusual. It was extremely helpful.

I've had the good and bad contractors come out. I didn't have any hot water so I called American Home Shield and told them I needed a plumber. With the first contractor that came out, Plumb Genius, my husband and I thought the tech was blowing smoke. He wanted to direct a different problem, which was out of our pocket and was not an issue. He said our piping was emitting carbon monoxide. We wanted a second opinion and John Hudgins Plumbing came out. The tech came out and right off the bat, he told us what was wrong. It was pretty much an easy fix and he said our piping isn't going to kill us like the other guy tried to tell us. He also fixed another problem that we had.
Also, we had a new roof put on a couple of years ago and something got knocked off. We just put it on like it was supposed to be and the guy told us our ceiling was falling in. My husband went into the attic and our ceiling is not falling in but there was a lot of stuff that wasn’t right. Another guy came out for a second opinion and he knew exactly what was going on. He fixed it and we haven't had any problems since.
Thanks for reaching out to provide that feedback. I am glad the contractors followed through with the appointment that was set but happier for you that your issue has been resolved.

The tech that came out from the company that American Home Shield contacted, which was Platinum Services, was very nice, but it was like he was fixated on just the filter being the issue. He thought that when he put this plug in where the filter would be in our refrigerator, the water would start coming out. He said that the filters that we use were defective. We usually get our filters shipped every six months so we can change the filter. The first time, the tech said, "Oh, it's your filter. It wasn't tightened." The next day, the water dispenser was doing the same thing. It would come out strong, but then the stream would get thin.
We called American Home Shield and they got in touch with Platinum Services. They explained that if they accepted to come out, then we wouldn't be charged. They would fix it. Platinum Services sent the same technician out again from and he said he tested all this stuff and said, "It's your filter, defective. I suggest you go to Lowe's and purchase a different filter." He sent me the picture, and my son-in-law went and got the filter then we put it in. There's only one way to put it in and you tighten it. The next day, the dispenser for the water started doing the same thing where the stream is coming out real thin. We think that it's defective. My husband called American Home Shield back. He was very upset, but talking to American Home Shield, he explained everything.
They were so good, American Home Shield's customer rep, and explained everything. They finally got in touch with Platinum Services on our behalf, and then Platinum Services called us. American Home Shield, as far as their customer service, is fantastic. They're fabulous and their customer reps are great. The reason we have it is our daughter and her husband and kids lived up in Jersey and they always had American Home Shield. I'm in South Carolina and when they moved down here, they got American Home Shield. That's what made us get it. We've called them out for our toilets. We've never had a problem with American Home Shield itself and we still don't. It's just this one service that they use, Platinum Services.

My thermostat was just blank. There were no numbers on it. So, I put some batteries in it. It shouldn't need batteries. The tech found a clogged drain. Then he looked at the other parts of my air conditioner, and he told me to keep the pine straw and the leaves away from it. He was really good. He also recommended to get the ultraviolet light when I have the money. I will be calling AHS as soon as I have the money to do that because I do want that.
It was amazing when I submitted this claim. I called AHS on a Sunday night, and Monday morning I got the call that the tech was on his way. So, I was thrilled. Everything is working great. I don't know what I would've done without AHS this year. Between the toilet and the air conditioning and everything else, it's been wonderful. I'm very satisfied, and I already have recommended them to several friends and neighbors. I'm really happy with them and really glad it was a change that I made. I've had American Home Shield periodically. When I first bought my house, I had them and then, I moved. It’s a good thing to have if you don’t want to have any cost that hits you all of a sudden, as long as you keep good track and if you have good maintenance of your stuff. Like the commercial says, things break down. If you don’t have the extra money, it's hard to pay for some of the things. It is almost like an insurance policy. If you have a major occurrence, hopefully American Home Shield will pay for at least part of it. I like the home policies myself. I’ve only been with AHS, at this point, for about a year. The contractors came out for three minor things and it all worked out good. I’ve been very pleased, in general, with the experience so far.
Precision Appliance came out for a microwave and they addressed it quickly. It was not turning on because it wasn't closing perfectly and the fellow had the part on the truck, which was very surprising. I was thinking he was gonna take an extra day or two to order the part. But he got me fixed up and running within 30 minutes. So, he was good and explained everything to me. I’m happy with it.

The AC coil went bad and Cabot Mechanical came out within a day after I filed the claim. They were able to get it fixed fairly quickly. The primary delay was getting the approval but they were able to make the fix on the same day. But I realized I had about a $1,500 charge built up where things had to be done. As a consumer, I wasn't totally happy with it.
What I really don't care for with AHS is that I don't have a real person to talk to sometimes and when I do, I end up with someone that has a lot of difficulty with the English language. I'm not sure if they understand what's going on. And when I call to inquire, it's the same thing. I go through about 15 different voicemails to talk to a person and I don't get to talk to a person. Other than that, I'm pretty comfortable and I save money.

I turned up the thing but I didn't see the flame. So, I said the only thing I could think of was my son went down in the morning and tried to relight it. But he would have known to turn the switch to the correct temperature. I liked the two guys that came out. They took the heater apart and cleaned. The first guy said, "Oh, this is clean. It doesn't need anything done to it." And the guys said, "Let's clean it up." They cleaned it and made some little comments, too much techie stuff for me. But they explained a lot of things to me and did it in a very professional manner. They did a good job. The water heater is working fine now.

I had a problem with my air conditioning and I called American Home Shield and they sent somebody out. The guy tried telling me that my whole unit was destroyed and it wouldn't work again and that it was too old. But he got one in his garage that he was selling for 2,700. I called him back and he gave me the runaround. I asked American Home Shield for a second opinion and they sent another person out. The other guy came out and he said the first guy was trying to rip me off. He took me downstairs in the basement and showed me that the whole problem was just a wire that corroded on the fan. So he switched it out, cleaned it up, and that was it.
When the air conditioner went out, I turned the circuit breaker off and turned it back on, hoping that would solve the problem. But when I turned the circuit breaker back on, my TV wouldn't come on. So I called and told American Home Shield about it. They sent out somebody saying that the issue was the circuit breaker that was destroyed. I told him, "It's not the circuit breaker, it's the TV wouldn't come back on." This happened three weeks ago now and every time I call American Home Shield about the TV, they give me the runaround. They tried to send me to All State to have them take care of it, and then they gave me the runaround and they said that American Home Shield won't send them the information they need to get the problem solved.
Before the TV issue and when American Home Shield wanted my business, they told me, "Oh, don't worry. If this happened, we ride over there. We would take care of it. If we can't take care of it, we replace it. You have nothing to worry about. Everything's insured and all your electronics and your TV and everything is covered," which got me feeling like they lied to me. All they want is the money. When a person comes down with a problem, American Home Shield just wants to leave them high and dry. I don't feel too good about American Home Shield now.

What we were having was with our hot tub spa in the backyard, we were losing water in some way. Aaron Pools came out and immediately diagnosed a significant leak and just replaced an O-ring gasket. Because I had it serviced by the company that we bought the spa from and they installed the wrong size O-ring so it continued to leak. So, they took care of that leak. That first guy, right away, was all over it. And once he did the first install of the O-ring, we didn't see any drip in that area.
But he told us at the time, "Now, keep an eye on this over the next week or so." He said we got a 30-day guarantee and said, "Get us back out here if there's something that isn't right." And that was when I called back and tried to get a second person out there. Because we were still continuing to lose two to three inches of water a day. And there was a company that has something "Green" in the name of it who doesn't service those types of spas. So, Aaron's was assigned to come out. And immediately, when I talked to the scheduling person, she realized that a mistake was made. But usually, she would tell me that we would get a call back from Aaron's. But we never get those follow-up calls.
This last time, Aaron Pools got the reassignment, a young man came out and he called the guy that did the first service. I had taken all the access panels off so the guy could see as much as we possibly could. And he identified right away, "I really am not qualified to do this. Somebody from Aaron Pools would be calling to reschedule and get a second tech out." They never called. We never heard anything from American Home Shield.
I talked with an AHS agent and tried to explain what happened with the process. I wasn't clear that it was properly conveyed because I tried to take my time and explained all of those different stops and steps that we've gone through. We're in New York right now and won't be back until the 28th of October. We turned the spa off and we had the cover on it. So, it's not doing any damage to it. But I didn't want to keep putting water into it only to have it leak out. Fortunately, the way this pool is installed, there's an area where all of the mechanical equipment sits above any possible water line. I'd like to get it fixed as quickly as we can. It's just this is one of those things that are hard to diagnose and find. But we still don't have the repair. And that was my problem with the company that we bought it from.
The spa is now six years old so it's out of warranty. But I always had good luck with their repair people. When the guy came out and did the repair, he told me he had severed ties with the company and would no longer be doing service work on that. So, I probably should have expected the response I got because he was the one that put in the wrong size O-ring. But I had him service the thing on a regular basis before and he has done a good job. But I sent five texts, made four phone calls and nothing was ever returned. I just like to get the repair done. And I should not be paying out another service fee because we didn't get it repaired the first time.

The pool pump failed. We called American Home Shield to file a claim. They authorized the one-time payment for us to pay them 100 bucks and then they didn’t do anything. They sat on their thumbs. So, we started screaming at Home Shield umpteen times. Finally, they reacted and they said they were trying to find an agency who could handle the repair of which they weren't doing. So, we looked in the phone directory for Tri-Cities, which is a neighbor of Walla Walla and found these people that came and fixed the pump. They were wonderful. They did exactly what they said. We took pictures of the existing system and sent those to them. We told them what was wrong. They had the new pump with them when they arrived, they took the old one out and had the new one running in not much time at all.
We’ve got a very large place with a lot of amenities and we’re now 75. We thought having American Home Shield would be more sensible than to take it on the chin the time something failed. We had to pay extra money to have the pool covered. So, we pay extra money every month for the pool. American Home Shield is really a pain to deal with, but we think it's the same thing that everybody goes through. When you call in, you have to wait and you have to pay extra money upfront. Another thing is they shipped us to some foreign country to talk to somebody for help. It's really sick. The people you talk to don't understand what you're trying to say. We kept trying to explain to them, and they wanted a technician to come out and look. We said, “Well, then we waste the service call in that time and then he's going to determine what we know.” We knew it was the pump. It was blowing the breaker off the wall and it was definitely gone.

I have a Sub-Zero refrigerator that has broken three different times. They tried to fix it, but the thing is that the refrigerator is 30 years old. Now, it’s broken again. It hasn't worked for 10 days. Then, there are no parts available until November because of the supply chain problem. They don’t even know when the part is gonna come in, that’s an estimate. Even if there were parts, my point is this refrigerator has to be replaced. It's been fixed three times and it still breaks. We used it to the maximum we could, but, now is the time. AHS was saying that because the technician recommended repair, that they couldn’t do it.
The technician has no motivation to recommend the replacement when they could just keep fixing it over and over and just taking everybody for money. At best, it’s a $2,000 repair. They’re talking about replacing the whole evaporator and taking the thing apart and putting it back together, and they can’t get parts. If there is a time, this would be the time where a replacement would be called for. I also can't get through to anybody. The people that I'm speaking with don't even understand what I'm saying. They may not fully comprehend what the challenge is.
I’m not surprised because of the supply chain issue. I’m in finance. My fiancée is a real estate broker and we recommend American Home Shield to the sellers to provide a warranty for the buyers in order to comfort them at the point of sale. That’s a big plus for American Home Shield. We refer business that way. But now, it’s like, “Wow.” We’re wondering if we should be referring anyone if it’s really not for real. I’ve had a decent experience with them, but I haven’t had anything really major go wrong. The techs came out, and then they fixed the plumbing issue. It costs 70 bucks, which was great. But this is something that's happening now after I've had the policy for this particular round the whole year, and I've had it with AHS before that. It's coming up in November for renewal. It's an $800-a-year policy. I just feel like I’m due a claim here.
They also said that somebody may call me back from the parts department now. That's been told to me twice but no one ever calls. Then, when I called back to see if I could find out, the parts department doesn't have a phone number. So, I can't call out to them. I have to wait for them to call me back and then they don't. Then my refrigerator still doesn't work. So, then I call back again to customer service, and I start all over with someone else.

American Home Shield's claim process is terrible. The electrical guy that came out was prompt and nice but with the whole dryer situation, I'm on my third contractor. The first one couldn't take it because it was a stackable washer and dryer. The second one did a virtual appointment and said he was going to order a part. After a week and a half, I've called to check up because no one followed up and part hasn't been ordered.

American Home Shield is accurate and as soon as I call with an issue, they take care of it. With my most recent claim though, the claims process was a headache at first. Our toilet was broken and so was the faucet. The toilet kept running. Originally, I put in a claim on the Friday, and somehow, they couldn't find it, but they picked it and got it taken care of on Monday.

Everything went okay as far as the claim itself, but I was a little bothered by the fact that I could never get in touch with an agent. I don't even have a number for AHS. I was never able to talk to a real person besides the people that came out. The claim was for an AC unit that went out on me. It was hot, and my dog and I really suffered. I was having anxiety because I couldn't talk to anyone, so I didn't know if the claim would even go through. This was my first time ever using American Home Shield.
I filed the claim online and the status went through within a week. That process went surprisingly thorough and quick. I went online to check the status and it said that the claim had been received and that they were working on it. The amount of time it took them to do it was going on two months. The heating company told me it was due to COVID that I couldn't get an AC unit. I went the whole summer without an AC unit, but eventually, they took care of it.
The people that came out, Perfect Temp, did an awesome job. Their technicians were all over everything. Once we got the ball rolling and they got equipment in, after waiting for the two months, the Perfect Temp technicians was the highlight of the whole experience. They were very knowledgeable, handled everything and asked me questions and about concerns. They were very thorough.

Family A/C Service came out and we informed them ahead of time that we had our property manager inbound to meet the technician. The technician told me he would give me up to 30 minutes but at 29 minutes, he called me and said he was leaving. At that point, I just talked to my property manager and he was around the corner but the tech said he couldn't wait.
I got to American Home Shield to have us transferred over to another contractor but my property manager had got on the horn and reached out to someone that we had dealt with in the past with American Home Shield scheduled us with. At the same time, I reached out to AHS and they closed the loop on it. They were able to get the service company contracted for the service, although we had reached out to them privately. The contractor repaired the heating on the spot with no issues.
The biggest gripe I usually have with AHS is that sometimes there can be a breakdown in communication. A lot of times, it's hard to interpret exactly what the representative is saying on the other end whenever I have a concern. They seem like they're a little confused and lost. Also, they should take into account the time frame in order to get a technician out to accomplish the work. We have two properties -- one here in Alabama and one in North Florida, two of the hottest locations in the country. But when I submit a claim to AHS on a Sunday, they wouldn't get a technician out till a Friday. I find it weird that we have to wait but if I were to call somebody privately, they can either come out the same day or the next day. I don't understand that process. Other than those, they're doing a pretty good job as it is.

We have tenants in our house right now. The HVAC was not working and making weird sounds. The first two times Island Breeze came out, it was quickly. The third time, the wait was a little bit longer than what it should be for an HVAC, considering that we have people that live in our house and we have to make sure that they have working AC. Also, whenever they were done with their work, we didn't get a call back to say exactly what was going on. I've had to call myself to find out what was going on.
Submitting a claim with AHS was easy 'cause I was able to do it online. But then, the last time, we had a difficult time when we were on the phone trying to get somebody to come out. Because we had called and Island Breeze couldn't come out until the following Friday that we had called. So, we were trying to see if American Home Shield could give us a different company to come out sooner than that. It was really a tense situation going on with that. AHS should improve the process of trying to find a different company to come out when another company can't come out within the next day. There should be a list of different vendors that we could find out and select ourselves if the one that we originally had come out can't come out.

Mike from Air Force Heating and Air Conditioning came out and he went into detail and walked me around. He was able to unclog my drains and clear up the problem. Then, I had to do a wet vac and I cleared up the water. He recommended that I also get this FLEX shield. After I cleaned up the water, they came back two days later to make sure there were no other additional leaks.

We've had AHS with some other rental properties and they've been good. We'd always get a response right away and they have helped us out with a few accounts. Of the five that we have, they've been able to do everything right with the four. But the last one for one of our properties which involved the compressor was a bad experience because they messed up the outside unit. The tech that AHS sent out said some very strange things and said that our AC unit was messed up due to being close to the water refinery. But our property is not close to the refinery. Then today, they told us that we're going to have to pay him 1,200, but they're only paying 700 for a compressor.
Despite that, I’ll recommend AHS. The warranty is worth it and for the most part, it has covered some things. Some of the contractors they sent out were iffy but then some of them were really good. But with our last experience, AHS sucked. We got insurance to cover all stuff then we'd find out that they couldn't repair certain things. That's stealing.

If I had a choice, I would change American Home Shield to another company. They don't solve the problem easily. Recently, our AC was making a very loud noise. I paid the deductible and the guy came. He gave the receiver to another guy. He said, “We are gonna contact American Home Shield if they wanna update your AC or do this.” Since then, it has been more than 15 days. I haven't heard from them. I was lucky that I went to Orange County for 10 days. But there I live, the weather goes up and down. Sometimes, it's burning hot. I was sweating.
When I called the Judieh place, they said, “We don't have time.” Those days were 97 degrees. I called them on Thursday. And the closest appointment the lady gave me for the AC said it would be Tuesday. Tuesday, the guy came. First, he said the noises from the fan was not good. And he said, “We are gonna contact AHS. And then they will let you know from there.” I haven't heard from anyone. I came yesterday from the road trip. I called AHS and they said, “Hold on. We will call you back.” They never did. This morning, I called them. I was holding the receiver for 20 minutes, but no one answered.

We have recommended American Home Shield to several people. Even our sons took out a contract with them. We had a claim on our refrigerator and a guy came out and fixed it. When we had a leak in a major pipe in our basement, a contractor came out and repaired it. However, sometimes they can fix it and sometimes, they can't. Sometimes, you can get it cheaper somewhere else. Also, I don't understand why we have to pay a premium and also have to pay for the service call. We had one contractor come out about a drip in a bathroom tub faucet but he could not fix it. My husband ended up fixing it but American Home Shield charged us a service call for that guy coming out.
A contractor came out recently and assessed our furnace. They gave us a price that it would cost. I called American Home Shield and they said that we could either go with that contractor or we could find our own contractor. We chose to find our own contractor because we got a better price. I got a copy of the invoice that it would cost for the furnace itself. The installation is not included. I will submit a claim for the furnace to American Home Shield for them to pay us direct.

It took the technician a week to come out, but it's kind of understandable now with what's going on with COVID. He was very professional. He looked at the microwave and assessed it, and ordered parts for it. What I thought was remarkable about his service was he even gave me some tips on other appliances in the house as to how to maintain them. Having the home warranty these days is such a benefit because repairs and stuff are so expensive. To have to pay just that one-time fee to get my stuff repaired is remarkable for me. My fridge wasn't working and the contractor was able to come in and fix it. It was shorter than all my other experiences with American Home Shield. I put in my ticket, I reached out to whoever was assigned to it just to check in with them because they have come out to fix my appliance before. They first ordered parts, so it took a little longer because they ordered the parts and waited for them to come in. Two weeks. When I went through them for my air conditioning for a while, they authorized an outside service and that was a hassle in itself. So, know the timeline for how long you would have to wait to get services done or how easy it would be to work with an outside service contractor. In the summer and wintertime, they're slower in getting stuff done - if it's in the summertime and you need your AC, or if it's in the wintertime and you need your furnace fixed.
I struggled a lot with the process over the summer. I put in a ticket for my air conditioning. And from the time I did that to the time everything was fixed, it took nine weeks, which is a long time in the summer not to have AC. That was the one time I was like, "I shouldn't even have American Home Shield. I should just leave it be if this is the process that it takes to get things done. And the pricing too, because there are things that I wasn't aware of before contracting with them. But that was my one time that I was thoroughly disappointed in their services. Other than that, they're decent.
Look into the price and fees. For example, when I had my AC broken, I know when they advertise themselves or when I got my contracts, AHS said I just have to pay my payment fee for a contractor to come out. And if I needed a new appliance, AHS would cover it 100%. But I ended up paying two grand out of pocket for my new AC. That is something that I thought I would avoid by having the warranty. Look into what is covered if you do need something, like a new furnace or a new appliance, how much you would actually pay out of pocket, because they advertise that it would not be anything, but you would have to pay some money out of pocket.

So, I ended up having to call American Home Shield directly and just do it that way. But for this dishwasher claim, I was able to access my online account.
The techs were great and they came quickly. They assessed the situation and realized that the board had gone bad. So they placed the order for the board. When they got a date that it was gonna be in, they scheduled me ahead of time the day after the board arrived and they were able to come back and fix my dishwasher. When I first got American Home Shield, I had a bit of difficulty getting people to call me back, but now, it's been great. When my AC was not cooling, I entered the claim into the their website and it got immediately sent to their contractor, Royal Flush. It was very well done. They came out and said my AC needed a new part. It took two weeks for the part to come in and I didn't have air then. They finally came in last Thursday, put it in, and it worked for a day then I noticed the fan in the outside unit would stop, but the motor kept running. I called and the company said, "Turn it off." This was Friday and they sent somebody out on Monday.
We went and turned on the air conditioner where the thermostat and we sat outside. I said, "It takes about 15 minutes." It was the motor would get hot then it would cease or the fan would cease. We were out there for 35 minutes, and it never did it. The tech hooked different things up to it, trying to test it, and after 35 minutes, he said, "Well, it's working." They called me this morning to see if it was still okay, and I said, "Yeah. It's down to 74. I turned it up to 76. It went off and I'm going to work." Royal Flush was great. The only thing that was disappointing was it took so long to get the part in. However, they were super nice about it, called and said, "We have good news." I said, "What?" They said, "The part's in. But we have bad news. We can't get out there today." I said okay and they came the very next day.

However, with AHS, they can be a little pain in the butt. Because you tell them what's wrong and they either don't understand what's wrong, or they just misdiagnose it. Before they've sent people out and it was just a waste of my time. They should improve their ability to help troubleshoot the problems a little bit better. I don't know if they have people who aren't necessarily familiar with the type of claims, so if they could've worked on better improving their understanding of what their client’s talking about, it might alleviate a lot of the problems of wasted time for not only the technicians but the clients, too.

My HVAC unit is in the attic and I noticed water dripping all the way down the wall to the bottom floor, even onto the hardwood. So, I turned the AC off. I put in the order to American Home Shield and then, the person called me back the next day to schedule from Southern Comfort, and I explained what was going on. The guy came out and said that it was low on Freon and when that happens, the unit will freeze up and as the ice melts, you get leaking. He explained the coverage, which was $5 per thing of Freon that they give you but I would have to pay the balance of that because American Home Shield doesn't cover it. So I ended up getting the Freon and filled it up. He said I was all set and he turned on the unit. The unit had been running and then, I heard dripping. I opened my bedroom door and it was dripping much worse.
I called American Home Shield this time and the rep said she was going to do a recall. So the next day, I reached back out to Southern Comfort and said that they should have a recall request to come back out because my AC is dripping again and it was worse than it was before. They sent the same guy back out and he seemed nice and showed up on time. They have the where's my technician app that shows you their ETA, and it was to the minute. He was ringing the doorbell when they said that he was going to be here. He said that he checked everything again and everything was fine. He flushed the Freon line again.
There was a lot of water when the guy was there before and there was still a lot of water in the unit. He said that when the unit was turning on and shaking, that was what was making that water leak out. So I would need to get water restoration people who can suction the water out. The guy said that they don't do that because with the warranty company, they want them to only do the one thing that they're there for. So since they're HVAC, they don't remove the water.
The guy suggested a couple of companies to call on and it's been hell trying to get someone to return a call to get out and to do it. I don't have any complaints about the contractor at all, other than he didn't tell me about the water the first day. And then, it was worse. I have not had the HVAC unit back on since because if it's going to leak when I turn it on, I'm not going to turn it on because it's causing damage. I've got the water stains on the wall. It's been hot and we've just been in here sweating until I can try to get somebody to come out to deal with it and get the water out.
