AHS is worth it. They protect your home. When I have an issue, they get it taken care of. There was a leak in the bathtub recently. The techs fixed it first shot. The techs were good.

The handle on the sink was leaking when you open it and the pipe was not draining. The water was coming out of the wall. The washing machine never finished the cycle because it was always dripping with water. I filed a claim and the contractor was gonna come a day after I asked it, but no one could be at home at that time. When they got in, I explained where the problem was. They went and got some tools and fixed it quickly. AHS is super easy. Other warranties would tell you, “This is gonna be your deductible,” but at the end, they come with something else. With American Home Shield, it’s not like that.

I had a clogged sink in the bathroom that was slow, so I submitted a claim with AHS and it was easy to use their website. The plumbers that came were good.

When my dryer stopped heating, American Home Shield was very accommodating. It took them a day to respond to me and give me the contractor's name. Within a day after that, the contractor from Sears Fairfield called to schedule an appointment. The repairman took about 30 minutes to look at the dryer. He told us what was wrong with it and that he needed to order parts. He scheduled another appointment and ordered parts for us. About two weeks after that, somebody else came back and installed the parts that we received.

The tech got back to me within a couple of hours of me submitting the request and he did great. He explained our issue. He had to go get a part and come back but all was well. One of the circuit boards of our unit needed to be replaced. It was a good service call and it got everything working. I'm satisfied with AHS.

We were without heat at the end of winter for about 10 days. A&J was our contractor and this was the second time we used them through American Home Shield. They were very professional and they did their best. They just seemed to be overwhelmed and it was two days before we got someone else to look at the furnace. The issue was getting a part to Sioux Falls so the furnace can be repaired. Other than that, they were very timely when they had the part. American Home Shield gives us peace of mind that should something happen to the house, there is a warranty that's not gonna wipe out our savings. Customer service has been very good too. We're very pleased with American Home Shield.

The fan was broken on the condenser of my AC. The tech was really good. On a home as old as ours, the warranty is a benefit since we don't know necessarily the shape of everything. We just bought it a year ago and most of it is nearing end-of-life anyway. So, the warranty been good.

I was not happy in the beginning because we bought the house, we moved in, and AHS said they would send a letter outlining the service and all that I would get for the first year. But when we were moving in, we had a problem with the washer and I didn't have any information or anything. I had to call a plumber and pay $500, which I was not happy about. Then when I got the letter from them, I asked if they were going to cover it and they said no because I didn't call. It had to be their providers but I didn't know who their providers were because I hadn't gotten my information yet. That kind of sucked. But other than that, I've already had to use AHS twice in the last couple of months and I'm very pleased with the service. They're quick, on time, and very professional.

Part of the tub wasn't sealed so the water was splashing down into it. The claims process with American Home Shield was very efficient and the repair guy did a great job. He was very professional and figured it out. We also had to recreate the problem. Everything worked smoothly.

American Home Shield has been a good company so far. When we have an issue, they take care of it immediately. But if we have to replace something, I am not 100% satisfied with how much their portion will be compared to what we need to pay out-of-pocket. Other than that, it’s not bad overall.
We have an AC that we had for a long time. Techs came and looked at it and they gave us an estimate out-of-pocket, which is almost $4,800 compared to what Home Shield will be able to cover. The estimate went to American Home Shield but when we contacted them, the representative was not able to tell me. The contractor already got approval from the home warranty for what is to be covered. But when I called them, they were not aware of it. There was confusion there. I had to call American Home Shield and they had to contact the contractor again and get the approval.
In the end, I didn’t want to spend that much money out-of-pocket to fix it so I decided to change the whole unit. The process took almost a week. Now, American Home Shield decided on our cash out and we're gonna take whatever they’re offering. We don’t have any other choice. The cash out they offered me was not really that much. We bought a new unit and another company came in and installed the whole thing.
With the whole process, we have to run after what we needed. They never contacted us and we were the ones contacting them. We’ve been waiting without an AC and the response was in two or three days. I was expecting them to call us and give us the final news instead of us calling them and being put on hold. We were waiting for the cash-out department which took half an hour. That department did not know anything about the part that they had to pay us for.
Other than that, American Home Shield has been good with some other stuff that we used them for. They sent a contractor for the garbage disposal and they replaced it. It was covered 100%. It's not a bad company. It’s just there's a lack of communication and it's not clear about what’s covered, what's not covered, and how much they're paying the value.

My experience has been fine with American Home Shield so far. The initial problem was a leak in the Jacuzzi tub. It wound up being the drain though, after the contractor troubleshot it. The tech had to install a new drain and drain plug. The seal was eroded around the drain itself, so the plug wouldn’t seal correctly. And while they were replacing that, they found a cracked pipe that they replaced too. They were fantastic. It was a great service.

I like that with AHS if anything breaks down, I can call them. It’s cheaper to get them to get somebody out here, even though there are times that they've had to come two or three times. It's still more convenient. However, their prices keep going up. But the tech that came out for the washer was really nice and informative. Told me a whole lot of things I didn’t know. He fixed it in about 20 minutes and it's working well now.

I submitted a claim for the air conditioner through American Home Shield's website. That was a Sunday and they assigned it that night. On Monday morning, I got a call from the place they assigned it to. On Monday afternoon, a guy came out and figured out what was wrong with it. American Home Shield reached out after that to let me know that I was on the hook for most of the Freon cost then the company called me and scheduled a time to come out, replace the part and fill up the freon. It was straightforward. Having American Home Shield gives peace of mind that you're not going to have a large expenditure at one time. But in the end, it's most definitely in your benefit just to save that money you're spending on the American Home Shield warranty in an account and use that to pay for stuff that happens to your house.

We've had issues with the heating and the air since we bought our place two years ago. Home Shield kept just fixing it but it kept breaking down. It went out on November 4 and I called the home warranty. It took forever to get somebody and when they did, they kept making him change out parts. He was the second repairman to say we needed new units. Home Shield kept trying to do bandage jobs.
Eventually, after repairing everything that could be repaired, they said to put a new unit outside. After that, we still had issues with it. There were days that it didn't work. It seemed the colder it was, the harder it was for the unit to work. Our heating unit was 26 years old and it's not compatible with the outside unit anymore because that has more electronics. That took five months and we didn't have heat.
I didn't find Home Shield caring enough. Customer service is reading off of a script to you and it's very obvious because all they would talk in the same type of wording over and over. They're like broken records so you can't have a conversation with them. One kept saying recall and I had to explain what a recall is and they still didn't understand.
On the whole, I like the fact of having a home warranty. But Home Shield's customer service is what made this drag out. I really would like to get somewhere with customer service because if I stay with them, I don't want to keep having these issues. Customer service sucked. I actually had to call sales to try and get somewhere. Finally, the tech was able to replace the blower on the inside of our heating unit. But I have to have the tech come back out because it's whistling when it turns on. It's a high pitch so it wakes everybody up. I had other work done with Home Shield and I was fine. That was in the very beginning. I had a claim on my refrigerator and techs came out and did some work on the freezer. Now I just wish Home Shield had somebody that we could talk to.

The air conditioning company they picked fixed what I needed and they replaced the fan motor, but they didn't do anything else. I asked them and they said they don't do tune-ups and they don't clean the air conditioner. And I'm like, "Okay." I used to work for a air conditioning company and we used to acid wash the air conditioners and tune them up, put Freon in them, and whatever needed to be done. That's why I know that's not a very good air conditioning company. Other than that, AHS was quick.

The AC wasn't cooling. American Home Shield responded quickly, but they got the wrong number. So they took some days. I called them again and they clarified the misunderstanding with the phone number. They called me right away as soon they got my right number. AHS did the best for me. They always answered all my questions and tried to find a way to help me. Because with my schedule, I called and told them, "Hey, this has happened." When the first technician fixed the problem that he thought was with my AC, it wasn't the main problem. I called them again, they called the company and they sent somebody right away. So, they help me a lot. They always understood what I need. I recommend them to every single mom in the world. I am going to be by myself and I'm going to need something. I will never know when I'm gonna use it and $50 a month is peace of mind.

Sometimes, I don't get people who speak the greatest English. But for the most part, AHS is good. Recently, my washing machine was vibrating a lot. I called AHS and let them know what it did. The techs fixed it. They were very good. I've had other companies call me to change, and I said, "Nope. Been with American Home Shield for years, and I'll stay with them."

The tech cleaned the air conditioner. He was wonderful and did everything correctly. He was very knowledgeable and said how good my air conditioner was. American Home Shield is excellent because I have an old man's house.

There was an issue with the AC. When we first put the claim in, American Home Shield got back to us pretty quickly. They tried to schedule it as soon as they could. They sent a contractor to come and fix it. The contractor had said there was nothing wrong with it and didn't fix it. Summer came in, and it started getting really hot. We called American Home Shield again to send someone. They sent another person and that person did a very good job. He fixed the AC and everything has been great since then. Having American Home Shield, it's a lot better to know that somebody's there to fix things that might happen that you're not accounting for. If something happens, sometimes it can be pretty pricey instead of paying per month and being secure. It makes me feel better.

I had someone inspect the house, and he told me that there were some leaks in certain areas. I didn't know if they were previous leaks or leaks that were continuing. So, I had ASAP Plumbing come over to put in a new faucet. They inspected the other areas to make sure there were no leaks and they went ahead and scheduled to have the kitchen sink faucet replaced because it has deteriorated on the inside. I first contacted American Home Shield by phone to do the claim, and their customer service was very nice and helpful.

I've had a problem with my air conditioner, and American Home Shield sent somebody out and everything was repaired. They also sent Hospitality Heating & Air out to do the warranty stuff. I was with another company for the maintenance of my system. But then I switched to Hospitality Heating & Air and got a maintenance contract with them because I was really impressed with them.
It's really easy to deal with American Home Shield. They contact you and let you know that the part is ordered. Then the guy calls you when the part’s in and schedules an appointment. They send emails out that your part has to be ordered, or they would say, “We can't find this part anymore. We're gonna offer you money and we'll send you a list of what we got. And it won't cost you anything if you get from our list. And if you want something outside of that, we'll send you a check.” It’s a great warranty company.

American Home Shield is great. Our home heater broke and they replaced the whole thing because it was so new. Our refrigerator broke and it wasn’t very old either. It was 11 years old but it quit being cold and the freezer quit too. It was no good. It was nice and I loved it, but it broke. AHS paid for us a brand-new refrigerator. The customer service is very nice, helpful and they know what they’re doing. You don’t have to wait on the phone very long for them to answer. We might have a holdup from our fridge because of the way things are from COVID so we still don't have our refrigerator but we’ll get it soon. If people could afford AHS, it's worth it. The refrigerator cost more than our yearly premium did for the warranty. We paid more than half of what the refrigerator cost for the year.

The claims process with American Home Shield went very smoothly. I have dealt with them before on a water heater and the company they had was out to rip me off. I have two water heaters and the repair guy said both of them were out. But my son looked at it and said that there was nothing wrong with one of them. And sure enough, there was nothing wrong with it. So, it depends on the people that they send. It seems that they were out to get AHS’ money and my money. So, I wasn't happy with that.
I was given a quote of $300 and I said that I could live with that. Then, it took six months and I was without a water heater. Nobody cared. When the water heater finally came in, the guy came back and said I owed them $900. I said that we agreed to $300 and when I called AHS to cancel, they said that I could do a cash payout. The people who answered the phone was trying to get you to get frustrated and give up, which is what I did. I said that I would do the cash payout on the water heater and within three days, I had a brand-new water heater and it cost me $100.
For this other company that AHS had for the stove, they were aware of what they needed to do and they did it, and it was just like the commercial. I was impressed. They cared about me as a customer. I was going to cancel my account if I had been dealt again with the gas stove like they did with the gas water heater. I had another claim on a microwave and the people that AHS sent, once again, didn't want to fix it or said they couldn't fix it. I got the runaround. So, I've had three claims and two have been a disaster. But the last one was great. The gentleman they sent out was a professional and explained everything to me. AHS needs more people like that working for them instead of just anybody.

I had a couple of switches that had gone bad that had to be replaced. The tech from Best Heating and Cooling looked those up and he thought there was possibly knob-and-tube wiring involved. I had a separate electrician come out and take a peek at that. It turns out that it's not knob-and-tube, it's just older, cloth-covered Romex. But it can look like a knob-and-tube when it's in a switch. There was confusion but the repairs are great and the tech was very nice and professional. He just mixed up the kind of wiring that it was but he knew his stuff. If he saw the wiring downstairs, he would have known it wasn't know-and-tube. The switches work fine and they're safe.
There was another time I had a really old stove that went bad about two weeks after I moved in. AHS sent somebody out who worked really hard to try to find parts. They couldn't and AHS gave me the value of that stove and I was able to replace it. I also ended up replacing the refrigerator. There wasn't anything wrong with it, there just wasn't space to put a modern-sized stove and a giant fridge like what was there. The money that they gave for the stove really helped and it took care of that. I've been really satisfied. Having AHS, it's nice to have that peace of mind. It's nice to have that cushion there in case something goes wrong and they are always really prompt. I appreciate them getting things taken care of.

I have a problem with American Home Shield's professionalism and the people that they hired to be their contractors are not dependable. AHS gave me the contractor's name and number to set up the appointment to check my washing machine. I called and called. Finally, he called me. We were able to set up an appointment for him to come out. He said that the machine needed a part, some sealant type of part. He told me that once the part gets delivered to my house, to call him so that we can set up another appointment for him to come out.
The part came in. I kept calling and calling. It kept going to voicemail. I kept leaving messages. Went on for a whole week. I had to go out of town. He called me while I was out of town and told me he was in my driveway. I said, “What are you doing in my driveway? You never even returned my call to set up an appointment. We don't have an appointment today.” He said, “I spoke to somebody.” I said, “You didn't speak to anybody.” He said, “I'm sorry. I did get your messages but I apologize.” I said, “We have to set an appointment for you to come to my house. You can't just show up at my house.”
Because I wasn't able to really depend on him, I called American Home Shield and told them that I wanted another contracting company. They gave me another contracting company. They came out and tried to put the part on for my washing machine. But it didn't fit. It was the wrong size. But they assessed the washing machine and said that there was nothing wrong with it because it never drained any water again after that one time. So they said that probably, the drain area was not clean. They cleaned it out and I haven't had a problem since. That's been a month now.
I have a problem now with my dishwasher. I asked for JDS because they came so quickly for my washing machine. That claim went in on the 31st. I was trying to find out why it was taking so long for them to call me to set up an appointment. First I was told that there were parts ordered. I said, “Why would you order parts when a tech was never out here?”
I got really upset. I got to the point where I was getting tired of them telling me, “We called JDS and we keep getting the answering machine. We left messages.” That was going on for a whole week. I said, “Can you get me another contracting company? Because seeing that you're not able to get in contact with JDS, then you need to get another contractor” They got my $100 and then they were giving me the runaround. I said I needed to speak to a supervisor. When I spoke with the supervisor, the supervisor was trying to tell me the same story. I got very upset with the supervisor and I said, “If I don't get anybody to call me by tomorrow, I will be canceling this contract.” As soon as I got off the phone with the supervisor, somebody called me and set up an appointment.

We had another company previously, and the workman would get exasperated because they'd ask so many questions and have to come up with so much documentation. So finally, I switched to Home Shield and they're very good about taking care of our issues. The technicians were good. They got right to the problem, knew what was going on, and handled everything as far as communicating with American Home Shield.

The garbage disposal started leaking so I called AHS and they told me that someone from NW Sundance Services is gonna call me. The tech came out and did a full inspection of everything. After he did the inspection, he noticed that there was some issues with some of the O-rings where the garbage disposal connect with the sink. He separated the garbage disposal and he looked inside and saw there was a little corrosion. He noticed that the garbage disposal needed to be replaced. He did a good job. He explained everything that he was doing and showed me why he was doing it, which was pretty helpful.

The tech that went out for our stove did a good job. He was in, fixed it and he was out. He was prompt, too. He said it was the bottom unit on our stove that was broken. He replaced it and now, it's fine.

A guy came and took a look at everything. He said it was the fuse. He fixed the air and everything was working fine. Two days later, the unit stopped working again so we contacted him. He came and said the breaker melted. It was like a shortage. A technician came the next day and changed the breaker. Everything's going good for now. American Home Shield's service is good. It's just that I was talking to some lady from there and I told her to put a tune-up. When I contacted American Home Shield to see if they put the tune-up, she said no one did.

I've had American Home Shield on this house in Pennsylvania and we had American Home Shield's sister company on our house in Jersey. It's a great product and I wouldn't not have one on my home. Recently, we made a claim because the dishwasher wouldn't turn off. The only way to get the machine to stop was to shut the breaker off in the house. The dishwasher people were good. They came out, looked at the machine and determined that a part was needed. They went back and got the approval through American Home Shield. As soon as the part came in, they came in and installed it. They were able to fix everything that needed to be done including some wiring.
When I did the phone call, they had me relay with a tech via a live video call on American Home Shield’s side. It seemed a little redundant if the people had to come out anyway to see what was wrong. I'm not sure what benefit that had. I also wish that it hadn't taken two weeks in between the initial come out and the final, but it's not their fault. It's not like you can stock every part to every dishwasher that every home has. We totally understood it and were completely happy with the service we received.

I like American Home Shield. I call them and everything’s taken care of. I had an experience before where I had to find whoever was going to work on it. I had to pay them, and then American Home Shield paid me. I’ve had nothing but good service. I'm very happy we have American Home Shield. I sent in a claim when the blower thing was loose, so it was rattling all over. It started again so the contractor went in deeper, and the unit had mold on it, which was causing it to be off balance. So they replaced the motor and it’s working like a jewel. The contractor was very nice and polite.

I had a couple of toilets leaking and my sink was leaking from the bottom. Also, there was a pipe that was still clogged up. The repair guy came out and fixed three of the items and he said he was gonna call and get an approval for a camera to go through the pipes. That was two weeks ago and I haven't heard anything back from him. But the service was good and knowledgeable. He knew what he was talking about. I enjoyed American Home Shield. They helped me out when I needed them. They'd been out a couple times and fixed my stuff very well.

My most recent claim with American Home Shield was for the fridge. The techs were very timely and respectful. Overall, this home warranty contracts great and dependable companies to repair. The service is great but I wish certain things were covered that aren't covered. For instance, my garage door. The garage door took a fall on us. The contract states the rails and the motor are covered but the door itself isn't. That cost me a good chunk of change and I'm currently just a student so it's hard. Also, it's hectic to get through the American Home Shield phone line every now and then. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

American Home Shield’s customer service is great. I had to call in one time and they were very responsive. I was able to make an appointment and about a half-hour after, I had a call from the technician and he was here within two hours. My inducer motor was acting up. I had to manually turn it to make it work and it would stop. So, the tech tested it out. At first, he tried repairing it and he did everything he possibly could. But the thing was not gonna be fixed so he had to order one and replace it. It works great now and there are no issues so far. I would highly recommend getting the service. I wish I had gotten it when I got the house because there were plenty of things that I could have used that service on. But it's better late than never.

American Home Shield is a good warranty company. The service is fast and they cover what they say they're going to cover. Recently, a repairman came, looked at the hot water heater, put his assessment on paper, and made recommendations to American Home Shield. They made another appointment for the 11th and they’re coming to replace it. My wife called to see how much we had to pay, and they said that since it was broken, we don't have anything to pay. Plumbing Enterprises did a good job. They pointed out a lot of stuff that I didn't know.

My AC unit was not working. The techs fixed it. The techs were good. My AC is working really well now. Everything was all good with the AHS website when I submitted the claim. AHS is a really great company.

We couldn't get the contractor out the next day when we reported the claim for our AC. It was Thursday before they could make it because my wife had to have surgery. But the claim was great. The techs got the issue fixed and didn't have any issues. However, I wish it could have been a little bit sooner. With AHS, there's peace of mind knowing that if something breaks down, we've got warranty service. We can call, get help immediately and not be out thousands of dollars on something that shouldn't even be breaking down to begin with.

A year ago, American Home Shield had someone install my water heater and it was with Climate Brothers. They did a horrible, shady work and I complained a lot with American Home Shield. I feel like American Home Shield just dispatched vendors, but they don't look. They don't oversee what vendors are doing with their clients. Climate Brothers took too much time to even install. I really had to go after them and made several calls to set up an appointment to bring them over.

My husband's toilet continued to run and we couldn't turn the water off. I filed the claim, which was very easy, then I got a call telling me when the contractor would be here. They called to know what the problem was then they scheduled an appointment and the plumber fixed the issue for us. He was very professional and good. Overall, American Home Shield has been excellent. I also referred somebody and they signed up for it.

I had a trash compactor that went out and they replaced it. The technician that came out initially and checked everything was great. He decided that it was impossible to fix. He informed AHS about it and they supplied a new one to me. I also had a replacement of an air handler system on one of my air conditioner units. That took a long time. I had a little bit of a problem getting it, or they did. In any case, they finally got it, and it went okay from there. AHS did what they said they were going to do.

We had another plumber come out and he told us we needed to replace all the showerheads and all the water faucets in the house. I ended up replacing a couple of them and it didn't do anything, which was when we refiled with American Home Shield. It turned out to be the valve in the master shower. When it was originally put in, it was oriented the wrong way so it was letting cold water flow into the hot water side. Everything seems to be working. So, to that point, I'm happy.
We had a couple of different things before that didn't go exactly how I had planned for them to go as far as communication. We had a septic problem on our last house and one of the points that the young lady had made was AHS doesn't cover normal wear and tear. Then when our refrigerator went out, I called and the gentleman said they only cover normal wear and tear. But other than that, everything on this has gone great. There are a lot of stuff that our regular insurance company doesn't cover that home warranty does. I'm dealing with things right now with my regular insurance company and I have a $1,000 deductible. With the home warranty company, it's $75. It makes it a ton easier.

It's always easy with American Home Shield. We had a fan that was running even though we had the unit turned off, and it was always cold air even though the heater was supposed to be on. It generally came on around 9:00 at night or in the middle of the night. It was odd hours. I logged in over the internet and did a service request on the 26th, which was a Saturday, and someone came out on Monday. We got lucky they had a cancellation. They went up and investigated, and it turned out that our unit has some kind of fan on it that, on its own, turns on and off when it's needed to do that. There was nothing wrong with the unit, apparently. It felt cold because it was cold outside.

My dryer was broken. Once you turned it on, it doesn't work. My wife submitted a claim to American Home Shield. A guy came with a new dryer and exchanged the whole thing. American Home Shield is very good.

The service could be better. I'd like to have more say in the service providers. I get service fast, but I would like where they say, "Of these providers that are available, which one would you prefer?" or something. I've had service people come out before I had American Home Shield and I thought they were top-notch people. I feel like I get what's leftover through American Home Shield. I don't think they go for the best providers.
I had a problem with a washing machine leaking and the gentleman that came out to fix it made the leak a whole lot worse and flooded my laundry room. That was the second time somebody had been out. The third time, they replaced my washer. But he should have checked out the washing machine before he left and not left me a mess to clean up. Also, I recently had my AC fixed and they don't cover but the first $10 of Freon. That's extremely expensive and that should be covered or at least a greater percentage than just one pound.

The guys that came out fixed the issue quickly. It was the capacitor that they replaced. They sent me a quote for if we wanted to replace the unit, which we don't want to right now, but sending the quote was nice that they offered that. They went above and beyond what they had to do. I'm happy with the service.

All the vendors are good. It's just that they got to follow their rules. When they tell me my washing machine is going out and it's making a lot of noise but it's not impairing the function of it, so I have to listen to this loud noise 'til it's destroyed, that ain't worth crap to me. The tech didn't repair it and said nothing was wrong with it and that it ran.
I called American Home Shield and they told me that as long as it runs, I need to use it. And I said, "Well, what about the noise?". The rep told me that the noise ain't covered and that I just keep running the machine. So, I have to call the tech the second time after he destroys it, and then I have to pay another 100 bucks. So that's 200 bucks out of my pocket toward a new one and I have to put up with that noise.

My oven and range top both quit working. The claims process went well. AHS sent out a contractor, and he recommended they be replaced. There was a little snafu at that point because when I went on to my app for American Home Shield, it said that the cases were closed, but I still hadn't received any work or appliances. So, I called them and they said they showed there was an email sent for me to look over appliances and pick out which one I wanted, and I had never received the email. They verified my email address was correct, emailed me while I was on the phone with them, and it did come in. So I'm pleased overall.
I've had AHS for several years, and I've had to use them only about four times, and overall, I've been very pleased each time. I did have a plumbing issue, and the contractor they sent out was not able to fix it correctly, did not communicate well, and came out two or three times trying to fix it but never did. I finally got them to send out another contractor who took care of it within 10 minutes. So while I'm very happy with them, some of the contractors could be vetted better.

The floodlights on the house were not working and they had to be replaced. The techs called within 24 hours and it was about a week before they could get me worked in the schedule. They identified the problem which was what I told them.

I had an issue with the type of faucet selected by the company that came out because the faucet that was selected had a deck plate in it and there is no deck plate on the faucet in my kitchen. I called AHS recently to discuss this and I had to decline that faucet. So now I'm waiting for them to get that decline notice and let me know what the next step is.
The only thing I would have disagreed with was the fact that they didn't give you choices. If they picked for you, it should have been more than one faucet, something for you to be able to look at and choose. The other thing I did not like about the company was that they did not return my phone call when I called them about that before I called AHS. They should have returned the phone call. Because now, the wait time is a lot longer. I'm still waiting. I haven't heard from anybody yet. But everything else was okay. The guy that was sent out from the company was great. I'm happy with the service of AHS too.

When we had the freeze, my unit had went out. I got American Home Shield after that. It started leaking from the faucet under the cabinet, and there was water leaking. The contractor came the next day. They were very patient and considerate that I went to a funeral. But I came back and they waited for me. The guy was nice and explanatory. They had to order the faucet. And he came back a couple of days later.

I was with AHS a few years ago and I stay with them because they’re getting better service people out. The plumbing companies and the different companies that are coming out are more “want to fix the problem” versus “do a halfway job.” The gentleman came out today for the washing machine. He didn’t have the part to fix it, so he ordered the part and had it mailed here. We rescheduled for next Saturday for him to repair it. He was very professional. We also had a claim for our garbage disposal. They fixed that within an hour. I also had a claim for the dishwasher and the gentleman did very good work as well. He fixed it. He was saying there was a part that had burnt out. So, they replaced that.

Well, I was burned again. First with First American Home Warranty and now American Home Shield! Stop wasting your time shopping around for these companies, they all put language in their terms to deny your claim. AHS is the worst of them all!! Paid the 100.00 deductible to unclog a PVC pipe from my sink, the idiot who came was going to fix it and he didn't even have a long enough snake to unclog, said he would have to call AMS to get another company out here to fix. Then my claim was denied. Called the next day to cancel with AHS next day, hold time was 50 min or longer and one person even hung up on me, and they charged me for two months after that. Thought it was cancelled!
After repeated attempts to talk to supervisors they told me I had to pay till term was up. AHS is a scam and most others are too. Don't waste your time!! I'm totally done with these so called services. AHS is a really bad company, told my friend that I referred to AHS and he is going to cancel too before something bad happens. Just stay away from this company. They are total crooks!!!

We had the service of AHS for years. When I buy or sell a house, I make sure that I put the coverage in place. They respond promptly and have always had positive interactions. We liked our experience with AHS. Our furnace wasn't working recently. They sent out a guy to see what was wrong. He looked in the attic and told us we had a panel that was needed to be done.

For the evaporator coil in my house in Florida, I had to pay $1,100 for Freon for them to replace it. Within the week, it broke down. So, I paid another $100 for a new service fee for someone else to get back out there, for them to not work, for me to call back and have to pay $50 for the company to come back to come to fix it. But I like AHS all the way around. My other claims have been all right. The only thing that I would like to change is when it comes to sinks, when they’re leaking, that should be added as one of the things to get replaced.

My dishwasher went out and a tech from JNJ Plumbing came out. I showed him what was going on and he went to work. He had to come back out because he replaced it. Then, a few days after he left, the dishwasher was leaking so I called him back. He came out and he apologized. Something wasn't connected and he fixed it. I haven't had a problem with it since.

Other than the price increase, AHS has been great. I'm able to get really good service. From the day I started with them, every time I've ever called to say, “Hey, I have a problem,” they have someone out to me within 24 hours or sometimes less. Anytime there's a problem with any of their contractors, all I do is call and say, “Hey, they didn't do what they're supposed to do.” One time, by the time we got to the third person, my issue was fixed. This last issue was on the weekend. I called on a Friday, and somebody was out on Saturday.
The plumbing company they sent was great. The tech looked at my garbage disposal and said, “Yeah, we need to put in a new one. There's no way we can actually repair this.” He went back to the truck, got a new garbage disposal, and installed it in an hour. I like the range of things that AHS covers. I also love the convenience of being able to just go online and submit a claim. And I get a response within 30 minutes.

I had a problem with the freezer on my refrigerator. First, American Home Shield called Sears to come out but they never showed up. When I called AHS, they turned around and sent another company out. And that guy fixed everything and everything has been fine. He was very nice. I’ve stayed with AHS because they have always taken care of stuff. Our heater, the air conditioning, and another went out. And they took care of all that. They also took care of my range top when it cracked. They’ve been really good.

I had an issue with my sump pump. But that didn't go well. The contractor put one in that I wasn't happy with, so they have to come back and do something about it. It's noisy, and I can't live with that. So, I had to put in an escalation this morning. Other than that, American Home Shield acts quickly and I appreciate that. I'm not satisfied lately. In the past, when something couldn't be fixed, they would replace it. Now we've been having an issue with the oven and they want to rebuild it. They said that, "Oh, we got another company. They said they'll order parts." The parts are out of stock, so it's just taking too long. I realized with the COVID, some parts are not available. But they should just replace my oven. They gave us an option to buy out. But the amount they're giving is ridiculous. It doesn't cover anything. Also, some of the contractors they deal with are not good companies. They have very poor reviews.

I filed a claim online, and the plumbing company responded within 24 hours. I put it in on Saturday then someone called me on Sunday and I had someone here on Monday. It was quick. The plumber knew exactly what the issue was, had it fixed within 20 minutes, and he was on his way. He serviced my thermostat. My hot water kept cutting off, so he had to replace some parts on my water heater. American Home Shield has been fairly responsive to my requests. I haven't had any issues, and the benefit of having them is I don't have to come out of my pocket for major expenses.

My refrigerator stopped working and a guy came out to assess the thing. He said it was my thermostat so we had to wait for parts. Then, another guy came and repaired it, and it works fine. The whole thing took close to two weeks.

Everything’s good, so far with AHS. Our first year was 700 and then we got the cheaper rate for the second year, so we continued on with it. Recently, the sink was backing up on both sides, and then it started leaking from underneath. The plumber came out and looked at it, and he pulled out a knife. He said it must have been in there for years, but it was stuck down in the drain. It took two hours for him to fix it.

The pump went out on the washer and American Home Shield referred me to a technician. He called, made an appointment and figured it out. He ordered the part, came back and did it very quickly. It was an excellent experience. AHS refers us to available service people and we don't have to wait a long time.

The process with American Home Shield is very simple, easy, and you do everything online. The contractors I've had have been really good. I've had a few things the last few years and everyone that I have dealt with was very nice, pleasant, and efficient. I recently had a problem with my garbage disposal. I called ny home warranty and they replaced it. The person that I dealt with was very good.
It took the tech a day and a half to come out. He was efficient, very pleasant, and he cleaned up. I was very happy with his work. Everything's working now. The only complaint I have is I have a stainless-steel sink and the top insert I had with my previous disposal was also the brushed stainless steel. They used a shiny one. But I'm living with it.

I've been very happy with the contractors that American Home Shield has sent out. Recently, the oven part of my stove stopped working. I called American Home Shield, and they sent a repairman out. He fixed it. A week later, it stopped working again so they replaced it. This is the first time that I had to have something replaced. My dishwasher went out shortly after I moved into the house 15 years ago. I called American Home Shield, and they sent a guy out. He fixed it and it's been working great ever since. I'm happy with what American Home Shield does and how they take care of everything. I’ve recommended them to other people all the time. For $75, I can have a technician come out, diagnose the problem and fix it.

American Home Shield's customer service quality is mixed. From the standpoint of their agents on the telephone, I don't like that they now have people that we can't understand. They outsourced it to different countries, and there were language barriers. I understand that they can't control the technicians that come into your house, but we do have more and more bilingual people and you have a hard time understanding them. On the customer service end, I've had people calling with their kids screaming. I can understand that better than not being able to understand the person.
Now that they have gone to the virtual technician where a technician doesn't even come out to your house to try to diagnose an issue, it's hard enough having to do that yourself, and then trying to visit with somebody that doesn't speak English to try to tell them what's wrong and what you want. It is a nightmare and I don't like that. They need to employ people in America. The name of their company is American Home Shield and their people should be working from America.
In my most recent claim, our pool pump was leaking, so Aeon came in. The tech knew what he was doing on it. He was very nice. His customer service was was top-notch and he did a very good job. For what he did, he was perfect. He will represent their company well. Lately, we had a big claim. They've always told me, "If you've got something wrong with an appliance or something, try to wait and save and get everything at one time because you get one deductible." I didn't plan on it, but a lot of things went out at one time. The handles came off on my dishwashers and refrigerator that we bought at the same time. It was loose on both of them. Because my oven went out at Christmas, I said, "Well, when I call it in, I'll have them both done."
In the meantime, the very next day, the ice maker went out on my refrigerator, and then my dryer went out. Then, at Christmas time, the same time my oven went out, the vent hood went out. Then, the pool pump went out, which was a different call than the appliance call. Then, my garbage disposal went out, which was a different call. My garage door opener went out. It was like, "Okay, the house is falling apart." But yesterday, somebody came and put the vent hood in. This all started in December and the refrigerator is not complete. The bad thing is the actual technician was not the technician that I talked to on the virtual technician thing. He's not with the company. But they brought a part just to fix the part that you push to bring the water out. That didn't fix it because, now, the ice isn't coming out. So, he's gonna have to come out and he had to order a part for the ice maker.
On the dishwasher, the door was going all the way down and we told him that and he didn't bring that part. So, he's got two parts to bring back. But he had brought an extra part in case it didn't fix the dryer. Parts are hard to come by, and so he had to wait. We just got the oven installed this week. The oven and teh dryer were the biggest things and both of those just got fixed and they went out in December. Part of that is because of the part, but also, part of it was that they didn't need the part that they were waiting on on the dryer. They were waiting on something they didn't need because they don't come out.
Then, they wouldn't come out until they had the parts from every appliance. What happened is they had to replace the oven and on the vent hood, they said all they need to do is fix a light. I said, "What are you talking about? The lights work. They just don't work all the time." Finally, we got it all straight, but that was the problem. I guess the picture that I took looked black. They bought a black handle for the dishwasher and everything is all stainless steel. I said, "You don't even need a new handle. All you need to do is show me how to put the screw on. And I saved the nut. All you need to do is show me how to -- I'm going to fix it."
The experience with our air conditioning unit was the only really bad one and they gave us such a little bit of money. This one took so long as well. Then, at one time, they sent a man that broke our granite and we ended up just settling with him, and then we just had to have it repaired. Other than those, I love the company.

A-1 Plumbing has been nothing but nice. I was very happy that they were very prompt. They were also very courteous and helpful. There was something broken on the sprayer in the kitchen faucet. They needed to order that part and a brand new faucet for the laundry room. We got the part and the plumber changed it. Also, the faucet has a little screen on the end of it and it had lime. I asked the plumber if he knew what I could do about it. He went ahead and took it off for me and told me to put in vinegar and soda. Sure enough, that did the trick. By the time they left, it was already cleaned. He put it back on there for me. That was not part of what he was supposed to do and he didn't charge me.

It's been a great experience with AHS. They fixed a few things of ours already. It's nice to have that peace of mind of being able to call them and only having a small fee to pay instead of a major repair cost. Recently, the techs came out for the first time and fixed the garbage disposal. However, it was leaking and it wouldn't work anymore after they fixed it the first time. I called American Home Shield and they said that there is a 30-day warranty. They went ahead and redid that for me. The techs were nice. They ended up replacing it because it was unfixable. It was awesome because now I can clean my dishes and not have to worry about scraping them in the trash and having a strainer to catch all the food. It definitely smells a lot better in the house, too.

I have very recently switched from a different provider to American Home Shield. A lot of my friends said that they have had very good experience with American Home Shield. They also cited a couple of instances where the service was good. I would rather switch with something that other people have experienced positively. Recently, my water heater was leaking from the bottom a little bit. The contractor informed me upfront what time they would come and came in right on time. The person who came in knew what he was doing and told me what he thought the issue was. I knew exactly what they were looking to do. He said that the heater has to be replaced because once it starts dripping, that means the tank has eroded. He said that he would need to put in a request for getting a part and based on the availability, he would schedule when to come back. It was fairly clear. He told me exactly what I wanted to know.

I had a leaking pump for my recent claim with AHS. The tech texted me and called me to let me know when he was gonna be there. However, when there's an issue, sometimes it's difficult to speak to someone from AHS that speaks English as their first language. It's difficult to get the point across.

I used American Home Shield a few times. I was assigned a contractor to come out and fulfill the job. In those times, it was done. One claim I had was for a faucet that would leak water even when it wasn't on. Even when I wasn't running any water in the house, I'd have water underneath the sink and all of the countertops. Instead of booking online and filling out all this stuff, I would prefer if I could have a number to call and speak to someone directly. Because maybe in that instance I'm describing my problem, it would relate to another service. I said it was a leaking pipe when actually it was a leaking faucet. If you speak with someone who's knowledgeable in what you're talking about, they would direct you or assign the right contractor.
The techs diagnosed the problem then ordered a part and came back. We thought we might have to order a whole new faucet, which I didn't wanna do because they don't make that color anymore. The techs tried very hard to do a fix so that I could use the faucet while the part was on order. That didn't work but and I commend them for trying. In the end, the issue was fixed.

The contractor for the AC came last week but they were given the wrong parts. It was a size 14, and they needed a size 16. They called me the day before yesterday and they said they got the parts now and they are coming on Thursday to fix it. I also had a claim for the stove and the microwave and it went well. The two burners of the stove were not working properly. Then the microwave was not warming up the food. Both of them were fixed already.
Today, I called in a claim for the refrigerator and this is the first time that American Home Shield didn't call me right away. They told me they were gonna send me the same company that came before for the appliances, but they haven't called me. So I'm still waiting. Even though I tried to call them, I couldn't get in touch with no one. There was also an instance when I put the claim for the appliances, and it took about three weeks before the guy came back to fix it. He said something happened with the supply chain and that was understandable. It's not their fault. But besides that, American Home Shield is pretty good.

I've had two claims. I had one plumbing issue with my coolant connector to my new refrigerator. They had to fix that then the rekey company had to come out and do a little drywall in the home. The second claim was the air conditioner. The unit worked in December then on a warm day, I went to turn it on and it was broken too. Doctor Cool, the air conditioning company, was real good. Meanwhile, Dockside, the plumbers that handled the claim, was a little weird, but they handled the main problem. I've had a lot of other expenses that hasn't been covered, but American Home Shield covered a good portion of the air conditioner and of the plumbing. I was very happy with that. I also like that they handled my two claims quickly and efficiently. That's the way business should be done.

American Home Shield is not the worst company I've dealt with, but certainly not the best. Something they can improve on is following up on their end instead of me having to call them back. When one of my toilets wouldn't stop running, I had to call them about it because I filed the claim and didn't hear from anyone. Shortly after I called them, I received a call from the maintenance person and it was a positive experience. I just don't like to keep following up when I'm paying $80 a month. It's not the cheapest warranty plan out there. AHS also sends these "Hey, get this tune up, get this check-up" messages. I called last week to schedule a service for my AC units, but I haven't heard from anyone and I paid $150 for that. That wasn't even included. I'll have to make another call to see what the issue is.

When our stuff breaks, they get fixed through American Home Shield and it doesn’t cost much. We called them recently for our washing machine. The control panels failed. It took a while to get someone out here. Our area doesn't really have anybody who works with American Home Shield. The techs did a good job. They looked at it, told American Home Shield what the problem was, and American Home Shield ended up just replacing the washing machine. It just took us a while to get the check to reimburse us for buying the washer. As far as customer service goes, they've been pretty good.

The AC unit wasn't heating and it happens every summer. The contractor keeps saying that it's the controller on the wall and they take the control off the wall and do something. Then, they put it back and that's it. They've been here three or four times. Also, a repair up in the attic was done but we ended up getting a crack from that repair and water started leaking through the ceiling. My husband ended up replacing the pipe that was put up there. I just stopped calling AHS. Nothing ever gets done.

I mainly decided to get a home warranty because of air conditioning and heating issues. I wasn’t happy with my home warranty. I switched to American Home Shield but they've gone backwards a little bit lately. When there's a problem, somebody can come out and they may have that part in stock. The providers told me that they can't change the part because American Home Shield wants to send them their own part. It can sometimes add several days to a week to a fix that could be done on the same day. The only improvement would be to just allow the local providers to source parts if they have them on hand. AHS does not do that to try to save on cost. But there should be a good balance between saving on cost and long delays for customers.
I had a claim that took several visits. First, they told me the fan motor was bad so they replaced it. But that didn’t work. The techs were gonna come back and replace a control board. Before they replaced the control board, they sent a third person out to verify that diagnosis. He said, “No, it's not the control board, it's the thermostat.” The thermostat had to be sourced, which took a while. A gentleman came out and replaced the thermostat and it still didn't work. They then said, “Your control board is bad," so they had to get a control board. The tech had to come back out and fix that. It took probably five visits to get that issue resolved. Shortly thereafter, my other AC unit had a problem. That was just a bad relay. But everything seems to be working okay right now.
When you have a home warranty, you do not have to incur the entire cost if a major repair comes around. Most of my claims with American Home Shield have been heating and AC and they have been different problems. I have an older system. I do my claims online and it's easy.

Over the period of two years now, I like the service. I like AHS. I'm going to extend them. But then service request calls take so long. It's hard to talk to someone on customer service line. Other than that, I don't need to worry because I have American Home Shield. I don't need to chase someone for the service request. Whatever problem I'm getting, I just open service request and it gets addressed right away. But the wait time is very late, so that pisses me sometimes.
The technician that came out for the pool repair was good. He fixed the problem. I wanted someone to take a look so that I want to know how everything is working, and he gave me enough insight. When I sent in a claim for an AC tune up, it went fine. There was a recommendation to get the capacitor replaced and the contractor said they will report it to AHS. But from AHS side, there was no call back to me and it's been more than a week. I was expecting AHS to follow up on that one because I don't know the exact comments in the system. The contractor said it might go for a month or for two years.
I put a case for my backyard lights. The timer was not working. It was not triggering. The technician came and he said the problem was electrical which is inside but they are going to address that only if it is outside. So even though it was on my wall, he didn't address it. I wasted my money on that one. I didn't get time to follow up with AHS because if I call them, it takes very long time. Sometimes it is one hour or so. So that particular timer equipment is still not working.

American Home Shield's rates were decent. They weren’t exceptionally high as far as what I could afford. I can afford maybe to scrape together 100 bucks to have a serviceman take a look at my dishwasher if it's not operating. And that's what I almost need to do next month because I'm on a fixed income. I'm retired. So I don't have a lot of money to work with. Right now, my dishwasher is accumulating water in the bottom of it and it caused a leak downstairs in the basement. So I need to have someone come in and take a look, but I wanted to wait until I had 100 bucks to apply towards that.

So far, so good. When the icemaker in our Samsung refrigerator was not working, a repairman came out and fixed it. I’m getting ready to call AHS again because my dishwasher won’t dry the dishes. It washes them but I have to get the towel out and dry it. I didn't realize they charge $90 every time they have a person come out but it's still a whole lot cheaper than having someone come out and charge $250 to look at it.

I like American Home Shield. They are very on top of it and accommodating. They're a good company so far and it’s way better than the one I have in my home. My other company that I do for this house is always questioning things and makes it difficult. When I submit a claim, AHS assigns a plumber and provides the number but usually, the plumber will call to schedule something once the claim goes in. A lot of times when you call a plumber, that costs you an absolute fortune. I had four different issues and they came and fixed them and it cost me $100, which is the deductible. I happened to have four issues so, I only had to pay $100. So, it was great.

American Home Shield has always been very easy to work with. Their claims process is simple. The prices are reasonable for what you get. It covers almost everything in your house. When you sign up for the warranty, you get to check off what you want covered. And what you can get covered is extensive. Part of it is HVAC.
I go online with American Home Shield and submit my claim, tell them that my heat is not working. They contact the company, and the company contacts me. The techs were great. It was a simple fix for them. We had a sub-zero cold snap, and it is something that could happen to your furnace. It affects a relay. It's very common, and they had it fixed. They were in and out here in 10 minutes.
Our first claim was a plumbing issue where the drain in the main bathroom is getting our son's carpet wet, and we didn't know what was going on. It turned out that it just wore out. So, the drain flowed from the bathtub. The contractor had to chip away concrete, which was a much bigger job than I could do. We had two plumbers out here all day working on it. And there was a part that wasn't covered in the warranty. But still, I had two plumbers out here all day for 275. You cannot beat that.

I had a previous account with American Home Shield on a different home that I made a claim at that time. The contractor that was sent out was not able to resolve the issue that I was experiencing. They ended up having to call a different contractor who was also not able to resolve the issue. Despite the fact that my issue wasn't resolved, when I sold my home and wanted to transfer my fully prepaid American Home Shield one-year contract to my new home, I was not permitted to do so. Not only that, I was not permitted to receive any refund of the prepaid one-year contract at that time. That experience was predominantly negative. However, I was willing to give it another shot and sign up for a contract on my new home. The recent service for my plumbing stoppage was excellent. The contractor was able to resolve the issue very quickly and thoroughly.

I was getting ready to terminate American Home Shield. Because I had a claim and I paid them the deductible, and the contractor came out last Monday. And Wednesday, the contractor called me, “I’m not on American Home Shield warranty,” and asked me, said I had to come up with money out of my pocket. I said, “What are you talking about? Did you talk to American Home Shield.” I said, “No. They didn’t send me any information.” So when I called them, they told me there were some modifications made, and that I had to come up with $485 out of my pocket. It was, “Okay, so when was y’all gonna tell me that? And why should the contractor be contacting me instead of you all?”
The next day, Thursday, I talked to AHS again. I told them it was ridiculous. Because I was out of my house for four days. I filed the claim on Monday. They didn’t come and fix it until Friday. And I told the person that that was ridiculous, and the way that they did the business wasn't right, and on Friday after they did the work, that I will end my contract with them. The person said, “Okay. Well, you call back Friday and do that,” and they hung up the phone. I called back Thursday evening and they were supposed to do a call review. Because the person didn’t record anything and I didn’t get the name. So I was very disappointed in AHS, and the way they handled my claim. I was told that they were a good company. But I found out otherwise when I filed my claim. They said they do not even care that I was out of my home for four days, and the person hung up the phone on me. That was very unprofessional.

I loved the tech that came out for the garage door. He was polite and very friendly. He was very knowledgeable with what he was doing and he answered questions. Everything worked out. But when I had a problem with my air unit, it took a long process. American Home Shield kept sending people out there and they weren’t getting the job done. Then they turned around and charged me a lot just to get it reinstalled again. I was out of my pocket almost $1,500.

The AC unit was acting up and we had to send out several trouble calls on it because it wasn't completely fixed. When the contractor came out, they fixed one problem, and then they left, and then it froze over. So, I had to put in a recall for them to come back out and see what was going on. There was another problem going on but it's fixed now. The tech was very knowledgeable. I've also had previous repairs. I had a claim for the hot water heater about two years ago, and it had to be replaced. American Home Shield is pretty on point. They send out a technician, the technician contacts you, and then he comes out.

I had two sinks that were leaking. The technician came to see what was the leak about and then she replaced the parts. From that moment, we don't have any problems. The way the technician came, greeted, explained, and solved the problem was quite nice. It was really good service.

There was a leak underneath the heater, and it was causing some issues. So, Express Plumbing came out, diagnosed it, and then, they filed the claim. They took pictures, and they replaced the water heater. This is the first claim I have with American Home Shield that something got fixed, but I like that they partner with local companies and that they give you an option to choose the company you want to work with. For the most part, when they assign someone, it's usually professional. So, I like that.
There was a claim that wasn't covered. It was fine. The person that AHS sent out still gave advice on how to deal with the issue that I was having. So, it's fine. I just didn't totally understand exactly what was covered and what wasn’t. Overall, AHS is a good company. I would just advise people to get specifics and understand what parts of the coverage apply to them.

I previously had a warranty with American Home Shield in my home in Savannah, Georgia for five years then we moved here in August and one of the first things I did was take out a warranty. We used them one time on a washing machine. The guy came out and said that the issue was a small float valve and that he would order it and it would take a week. He then came out, put it in, and everything worked fine.
Since we moved here, we've had our second claim wherein the AC/heat pump has gone out on our unit and no heat would come on at all. I called in on Saturday the 26th and spoke with American Home Shield. ACE Heating came out Monday the 28th, diagnosed that it was a computer board on the unit itself, then turned it in to American Home Shield. AHS's parts department supposedly looked through the inventory in the United States and found out that part’s no longer made. It went back to the adjuster, then it went back to the parts department. It was back and forth.
I have been calling American Home Shield almost every day and ACE Heating. I'm caught in limbo, because talking to somebody at the call center, they don't seem to understand that they've got to give approval for ACE Heating to replace the whole unit, because you can't just replace the heat pump. They've already told me that the entire unit is gonna have to be replaced, but ACE Heating can't do anything until they're given the go ahead. We've been without heat for the last two weeks. During the daytime, our temperatures get up in the 70s, which is okay, but at night, it drops down to the 50s. We get up in the morning that’s anywhere from 50 to 52 degrees, and I have to turn on our electric oven to try and heat up our kitchen area.
The problem is that the call center being in India or the Philippines, they don't quite understand the urgency. There are also problems with the language. I called and said, “Look, what is the status?” The first time, they told me, “You need to speak with the technician.” I said, “Okay. Let me speak with the technician,” then they gave me the number for ACE Heating & Cooling. I said, “No. Do you have a technician that I can speak to?” Eventually, we understood they were talking about ACE Heating & Cooling.
ACE Heating & Cooling has been very nice. They've been very patient with my phone calls, saying, “We have not heard anything. As soon as we do, we’ll let you know.” Twice now, the two different girls that talked to me said, “Please hold while I speak to ACE.” Ten minutes later, they said, “I have talked with them. And we've got it straight, and everything is authorized.” I called back a couple hours later to check with ACE, and they said, “We've received no correspondence by email, text, or voice.” It's a runaround, and I can't find the number to call the home office to report this problem to.

AHS gets people out there right away and they're also responsive. I also get to choose my deductible. I can pay more per month and have a lower deductible, or less per month and have a higher deductible. I had a dishwasher that broke a couple of months ago and it couldn’t get repaired because they didn't make the parts anymore. AHS offered to provide a dishwasher for me on their list, on their website, but I didn't like any dishwashers they had. They weren't the quality I was looking for. They offered a cash buyout to get my own dishwasher. But in order to get the money, I had to show them the receipt and the installation stuff from wherever I bought the dishwasher from, which wasn't made apparent to me beforehand, but wasn't a problem, because I replaced the dishwasher and I have the receipt. With my recent claim with Integrity Air, I had a condensate line that was blocked and they fixed that up in a heartbeat.

I did a claim with American Home Shield and the guy who came out said that if the issue was the breaker, he couldn’t replace it and I would have to go and buy a new one. I could buy one from him too and he could replace it. But why would I want to do that if he was supposed to come and do the whole repair? That didn’t make sense to me and I was taken aback by his saying that. But then he referred me to an appliance company.
A tech came and he asked me to turn the thing back off. I didn’t even realize he might try to do something to the microwave. I heard it when it clicked off again before I even came in. I went back and I clicked it back on. By the time I got back in here, he was taking it apart. I stood there and watched him. He replaced everything that needed to be replaced so quickly.
When you have a home warranty, there is comfort because I know it’s there. I didn’t have to deal with the issue. At the end of the day, it’s like having a handyman in the pocket. The interesting thing is you can go online and do a claim. One of them was electrical and the other one was plumbing. I tried to do it online or on the app, but it was limiting me. For plumbing, I either could tell them my sinks, how many sinks, and one toilet, or so many toilets and one sink. The issue I had was with all toilets and all sinks. I called in because I didn’t want to have two service charges for plumbing. That was very easy to go through.
The first time I did it, I had a huge list. The rep took it all down and said, “Well, let me just let you know you got to pay a deductible for each one of these ‘cause they’re different.” It was electrical, plumbing and appliance. Once she explained it to me, that made sense and I was good. I love American Home Shield's system.
I had an issue with a contractor but it worked its way out so I didn’t have to go back to American Home Shield. I have something on my list I want to go back and ask them because of what was said. I have a tankless water heater and I was without hot water for a month. That whole situation had to end up being escalated through the plumber that came in. They didn’t have the parts. Then they ordered the wrong part. They had to order another part then they came back and said, “No, we need the other part. Now, we got to come back next week.” It was a comedy of errors.
The very last person who came was the first person who came who had an issue. I didn’t know that there was a wash mesh in my tankless water heater and that was a whole blow-up situation. Finally, they realized that they needed all the parts they ordered. At the end of the day, they ended up having to go back to the office and get the other parts that they said they didn’t need and my tank got fixed.

My washer just stopped working. I did the claim to American Home Shield by phone. Their customer service rep was good. Sears came out to do the section and said that it was about three different parts that needed to be replaced. So, they just replaced the washer. They ended up having to come back because we had to order the replacement washer.

American Home Shield has good and timely service. My bathroom lights were strobe lighting. I already tried changing the bulbs, making sure that they were screwed and tight. It was still strobing. When the guy came here, he put the new light bulb in and it was fine. He just screwed the bulb in and it was good. He told me nothing was wrong. My electricity was fine. So, I paid $100 service call for him to come out and do what I already did. And there was no issue.
I made a different service order one time and the people told me they wouldn't be able to schedule me for two weeks. I called AHS back and said, "I want you guys to give me a different service person." And they said, "Well, we have to call them first and then we'll call you back." So I just said, "Forget it” and kept the people that were scheduled for me. And they were able to get the people call me back and were able to get me in four days. So that turned out to be a positive experience, too.

I've used AHS several times since moving into the home. Just having a copay or a flat fee for a certain replacement of a toilet is super convenient. The plumbers that came out for the toilet that wouldn't flush were fabulous. They did a great job. I highly recommend AHS. It's nice to have that peace of mind. It's like insurance for your home but not. It's for the little things, hot water heater, all that other stuff that comes along with buying a home.

The condenser, the big coil in the back, had a leak in it. Both technicians were really good. I like not having to put out a lot of money to go get a brand-new appliance. The service visits went good and our refrigerator is finally fixed.

M&H provided excellent service. They helped with my issue with my heating system and an issue with the display box. They had to come back several times to fix the issue. Everything is okay now. As far as American Home Shield, they have great service. They’re always helpful when I have issues, and they send people out to fix the issues.

There was a leak on the water pressure regulators where it comes into the house. It reduces the pressure down to 40 or 50 pounds. The same company replaced it last June of 2021 as extra work when they replaced the water heater. This particular device was not covered under our warranty. So we paid extra for it at the time. Prime Plumbing came, and the issue was just a small leak. It was just a drop every hour, and they said that their labor was only warranted for a month, which is a very short time. I've since learned that the part that they used has a one year warranty. But I don't think they knew that at the time. When it came to replacing it, the last quote they gave me was $500 to replace it. I complained to the plumber a little bit and to the person there. They said they could lower it to 400. But that was still too much money for a half hour job. So I haven't done anything. I'm just watching the leak.
We've had the water heater replaced under the warranty. So that's good. It was very quick service. We appreciate that. We've had the furnace and air conditioner serviced also. We used to call American Home Shield to submit our claims. But then I realized they have an online portal and it's quicker to go in it to request service. Overall, American Home Shield's customer support is very good. They're responsive and they looked into things when I called. But it's different people each time I call. Sometimes they have accents and they don't have perfect English. I know that you can't expect that from everyone because we're a diverse society. But maybe they could practice their pronunciation to make it sound easier to communicate.

Somebody is supposed to come back tomorrow to finish up the garbage disposal. But the guy that American Home Shield sent to fix my ice maker and washing machine is waiting for the parts to come, and I didn't realize that AHS ordered the parts. I thought that the company or the department gets reimbursed. It was this past week. The rep said AHS could take a while sending the parts so that’s frustrating. Everything else has been going fine. I just don't understand the process. It's taking too long. AHS was good in the past and my heater unit was repaired.

I submitted a claim online with AHS and they told me I was going to be contacted. It took them two days for them to contact me. This guy said, "I'll be there next day." He was a very nice guy, but he couldn't fix the thing. He needed somebody else to do the tile work. I ended up hiring a handyman and taking care of the whole thing and it cost me less than I would be spending with the plumber, the $100 fee and the whole nine yards. But the plumbers that they sent were okay and friendly.

I've had very bad experiences with American Home Shield. I had a massive water leak that flooded my whole yard. They sent five different people out there and none of them fixed it. American Home Shield sent two HVAC technicians and two plumbers. The plumber came in the first time and said it was the AC, but the AC guy came in and said it was the plumbing. It happened two times in a row. The final AC guy said, "Hey, I have no idea what it is. We're gonna send a home inspector out here." But the home inspector couldn't find the problem. I had to fix it myself. The city water department came out and we tracked down the leak and fixed it. But when I fixed it myself, American Home Shield told me that I couldn't. So then, I broke it again, and then they sent a final person out there that tried to not fix it but I didn't make him leave until he fixed it.
It took six different people to solve a problem that should have been fixed by one person. I had to pay $75 five different times, but I only got reimbursed twice when they told me I was gonna get reimbursed for the whole thing and that they were gonna get the company to pay me back for it. This wasn't the first time this has happened. When I first got in the house, I had a problem with my toilet and I ended up installing a whole brand-new toilet. But American Home Shield had three separate plumbers come out there and I only got reimbursed for one. They sent incompetent people. I'm a plumber and a mechanic myself and I found the problem in five minutes. I got to the point where I got sick of waiting.
American Home Shield should improve their customer service. They hung up on me four times in a row. I get somebody on the phone I trust there, talk to somebody, and they just hang up on me. I sat there and waited each time and they never called me back. So then, I called them again. The prices are reasonable and it seems like a good deal but they're not providing the services that I'm paying for.

We have had a leaky kitchen sink most recently and initially, the contractor was very responsive. The tech came out very quickly and it went well overall. We got it repaired and then within that same week, it started leaking again. So we called back to try to get them to look at it again. But they never responded to any of my phone calls over a four-day period, which was a little disappointing. They said, “Oh, we didn't call you back because you need to call your home warranty for a recall.” I told them that they could have called me to tell me that because I didn't know. So the communication was a little poor. But overall, the service has been good. The technicians were seemingly knowledgeable.
Overall we've liked American Home Shield. But we've had a few moments where it's been more challenging than others. We've had a few times where we've had some frustrating moments. But it was likely related to some communication errors as to whose job it was to follow up on things. So overall it's been a very positive experience. We have had multiple things that needed servicing or repairs so we've made our money's worth back.

It was in the late afternoon when I realized I had a problem. I contacted American Hoem Shield and techs were here the next morning. They got everything taken care of. It required waiting for an air conditioner condenser to be delivered. Because of the delay in shipping, it took about close to two weeks to get the product in. I was among several customers who were waiting for products to come off a ship someplace. Once the product came in, the issue was taken care of within 24 hours. I had a very good experience with this contractor and I would use them at any time and refer them to anybody.

My first claim was fast and easy. It went great. The guy who fixed the dryer was very professional. He answered every question I had. The spinning on the spinning motor inside the washer was broken. So they had to replace that. I appreciate AHS's customer service. They're very friendly when I call in. I'm having a great experience with them. So I'm definitely sticking around. The hardest thing at first was because of how they outsource a lot of their work, so a lot of times, I get people from different countries. They get tired of me saying “Excuse me? Excuse me? Excuse me? What did you say?” But other than that, I have no problem. AHS just sent a plumber because one of my toilet bowls wasn't working properly. After the plumber fixed it, it was still making a sizzling noise so I called AHS again and somebody got in touch with me that same day. The contractors were courteous. They asked if they needed to put on shields on their shoes. Plus, they had masks on. However, AHS's response time is not cool. When I put my requests in, they already snatch my $100 from American Express in the blink of an eye as quickly as I get service. But the best thing about AHS is that I don't have to stress about it when something breaks down.

Our AC would blow on, and it was working, then it would blow hot air. I put a request in to have it serviced, and American Home Shield was responsive to have a technician assigned to the job. Stellar Air reached out to me, then I reached out to them and we coordinated a time. The tech came by the house and topped our AC off with Freon. It was my first experience with American Home Shield. According to my conversation with the person from Stellar Air and even a bit of conversation with American Home Shield, if the system's old, there has to be at least three attempts to come and check it out and make sure, “Yup, we feel it's old.” Going through a bit of time until there's a determination that the system needs to be replaced would have to happen. Same thing with any appliances inside the house.

Two years ago, I had a leak in my garage that was from behind the wall. A tech fixed it and two years later, here it is again in the exact same place. I called AHS again and said, “Please do not send that same guy out that you sent before.” The plumber they sent the second time was very professional. He took something off the pipe that the first guy hooked up from the last claim. He said, "What's this? I've never seen this before." and threw that thing into the trash. So far, everything has been good except with that issue that they sent out the first guy.

I happened to read some good reviews about American Home Shield and I got an online discount code. The signup process was pretty simple online. I saw the feature, the function, and the benefits of the warranty. I went with the platinum or the top coverage. The only thing I didn't get covered was my TVs. I have American Home Shield and I have where they come out and service your air conditioner. The guy who came was okay, but he didn't stay as long and that was concerning a bit. Also, I've never heard of them before, so I was leery about that. On the other hand, I had an issue with the toilet where my fill valve was not filling up, and Honesty Mechanical was great. It didn't take long for them to come out, and they were pretty fast and efficient with the repair.

There was water leaking from the water tank. I just noticed that it was on the ground, and it started leaking into the drain. I submitted my claim with American Home Shield on a Monday and the contractor was there that week. So, it took three days max. The tech came, took some pictures and diagnosed the problem of what he needed to do. He was inside the property 15 minutes at most. And when he came back the next day to install the product, he took less than an hour.

American Home Shield is a great service to have and I have recommended it to my friends who own homes. I had it a long time ago when I first bought my house. Then I moved around and in 2020, I restarted an account and they're really, really good for me. The claim with my furnace went really well because not only did they do their job well, but I was in the hospital for an emergency for five days, and they were able to work around that and work with me. They were able to rearrange and pick a better time after I was released, so I was very happy about that.
I like the fact that I can do a claim online. You can log into your account and quickly put in a claim. Then American Home Shield will get the appropriate people to call you quickly. So that is definitely helpful, not having to jump through a lot of hoops to process something. It is not very time consuming. Also, the people that they contract with have been great.

Terrible experience attempting to get my home heating system repaired. First called contracted damaged our system and after several calls a second opinion contractor has come out to look at our system and we have been denied coverage. The company doesn’t seem to understand that the first contractor caused the damage and attempting to talk to customer service is a horrific experience. They can’t seem to understand the problem and they only read from the script they are given from either their own report or from the contractor.
It’s been 5 days since the initial call for our thermostat to get fixed and dealing with the customer service department has been a nightmare. After numerous calls and basically getting zero help we are considering calling our own contractor to get our heat fixed. Look elsewhere for home warranty and avoid AHS at all costs. I would give a zero star rating if I could and I will be calling the BBB after this fiasco.

I sent in a claim for a dishwasher that wasn't working. It would go through a cycle, but the dishes weren't clean. There was no water coming out. After the cycle, the soap was still there and dry. I put in a claim at about 10:00 at night, and then the next morning, the contractor showed up around 11:30. That was a surprise because I didn't expect that. I expected them to look for a part, and then order parts, but the tech had the parts with him. Overall, my experience with American Home Shield has been very smooth. I'm quite happy that they quickly responded.

We had a front load Bosch washing machine that had a leak, and the service was very good. The guy came out, and we were the first people of the day for him. He rang the doorbell, came in, assessed the situation, and fixed it to my satisfaction. There wasn't anything wrong, but he explained what was happening. From that, I've been able to take care of it and it was all good. It was the way that the machine goes together, so all we have to do is monitor what's going on and make sure a certain part of the seal is kept clean and dry. It's just a maintenance issue. We were worried about the machine, and now we're not. It eased the mind of the main operator.

I did a claim when I had a leaky bathroom faucet. Then within a day, the contractor came and repaired it. Everything was fine. It was a really good experience. The tech was knowledgeable. He was in and out in 15 minutes. He was great. I’ve been with American Home Shield for about four years now and I like their service. American Home Shield has replaced some things that needed to be fixed. There was a problem with our fridge. Our fridge isn't that old, but part of the water and ice system was messed up, so they fixed it. So, certain fixes have been good and made sense. When the toilet was clogged and had a leak, the tech fixed both things. Everything got fixed up fine. But the HVAC system has just been a Band-Aid over and over, when it's getting older as an overall system and it's getting to the point where we just want it to be replaced.
We continually have problems with our HVAC system. And we're waiting for AHS to go ahead and replace the HVAC and not just keep patching it together. They keep replacing pieces and parts instead of actually replacing the whole system. They said it's a very old system that it’s getting time to replace. And they just replaced little to get it just enough to run. But always, every few months, we have to get more fixed on it. It has been a year since we moved in. They just fixed another part of it last week. I have brought up in the past about replacing it. And AHS said, “Well, it needs to be a complete system failure of some type where just replacing parts or a piece is gonna get it running for a while.” Because I still pay the $75 each time to get part of it repaired. At what point do we just replace everything?

With AHS, I like having the security of knowing I can have my appliances repaired. They had a bit of a long repair time to come in for my washer, but I understand that last-minute stuff. Unfortunately, the machine ended up being totaled. I had two different people come in, and both times, I had to pay $100, and now, the machine is just dead. So, I'm getting a replacement. The techs were all fine and polite.
I've contacted AHS and they gave me a list I can choose from, and then it shows anywhere from zero to 1,000+, if I want to pay for a better line. They also said that if I didn't find one on their list that I was happy with that I would get something like $124.68 that I can get reimbursed for if I pick one out on my own. Under a couple of conditions, I can have at least a year warranty.

I did a lot of hunting around searching, and the guy from American Home Shield offered a really good deal. He was nice and friendly. He didn't try to make me feel pressured into something. I'm going through something with American Home Shield now. S & S Appliance Parts & Service came out and said that the damper was stuck open. Because it was freezing, it caused the damper casing to crack so water is leaking all over my floor. This has been doing this about almost two weeks now. I'm getting water every day and every night. When I get up in the morning, it's wet. When I come home from work, it's wet. Even though I got stuff down, it's drenched.
When the guy came out on the 28th, he said that the part was discontinued. He reported that back and called me back 30 minutes later. He said, "I reported to American Home Shield that the part is discontinued. They said they were gonna research the part." Come to find out, American Home Shield went on eBay and found one. They had it shipped to S & S, which was supposed to get there today. I called S & S and they said they didn't know anything about it because American Home Shield, on the date S & S came out, told them to close it because they couldn't order the part in, where the part was discontinued. I called back to American Home Shield just a minute ago. The lady said the part was shipped out there. She called S & S and they said they got to find it. Now, I still don't have a part and I fear that water's running all over my floor.
The refrigerator's over 20 years old. They didn't fix it when they came in July. They put a temporary part on it and ordered the new part. They wanted to charge me another service fee, but the work was never done. The technician said he was gonna call me and tell me what he meant. But he never came back out here and put the permanent piece back on my refrigerator. At this point, I'm feeling the refrigerator I bought when I moved in the house 20 years ago is on its last life. They're gonna keep continuing to piece and piece it together, and I keep having a problem after problem. I'm so dissatisfied with American Home Shield. When they fix this refrigerator, I'm canceling them. They don't have a problem deducting that $60 out my account every month. If I have floor damage which they say is not covered, I'm gonna sue them because they're the reason for it.

I went through three customer service reps and the one I got a second time was not good at all. He left me on the line for almost half an hour. But the first and the third people were very nice and prompt. I had York Mechanical come out for a dust pipe on the roof. It took a process to get them out but when they did, they did a fantastic job.

It's usually a lower cost to have AHS contact somebody and have them come out. I had an annual checkup on my unit and I have some water on the floor that I'm concerned about. The techs were very professional. The older guy was very knowledgeable and he knew where to look and what to look at. The heater is fine. But there's a leak coming from the chimney. So I need to get that checked on.

So I called AHS instead and the person that I talked to gave me the contractor's name and number. So I called them and left a message. Then they called me back a day or two later. The contractor was very good. They didn't call me back right away. But when they called me, I was available the next day that they were available to work. The guy that came out was very good. I love the service. It's fantastic. I was very hesitant when I first joined AHS. The plumbing thing happened and I wasn't happy completely. I did another plumbing thing and the last guy who came out did a beyond fantastic job. So the people that AHS is getting are very good. I am very happy with my service. So I'm thrilled. When I call to file a claim, I press a button and it's automated. I hate it but it's fine. I've also done the claims process online and it's very easy to do. I press a button and then I'm charged. Last time, I was charged for plumbing twice and I really hope that they reimburse me. But I never checked.

My AC unit was on emergency heat, but it didn't work either. So the contractor came out and fixed it. I had another problem. They came right back out and fixed it. It was on time, took care of the problem. Having American Home Shield is a peace of mind. I'm very happy.

Some requests sometimes take a little bit long time once the contractor is assigned to the task. But I'm enjoying American Home Shield because they are responding to all my questions and requests on time. Overall, it's good. I like it. My refrigerator had multiple defects and the service was good because the contractor did good repair.

Four months ago, someone was supposed to come and fix my hot water heater. At that time, American Home Shield sent out a man who was coming for the furnace. He wasn't coming for the heater, but he told me that they had to order a pipe for the hot water boiler to work. Four months passed and I never heard from them. I called back and they told me the guy never even put in the order. When they tried to send somebody, it took almost another month. I kept calling, and he never called back to me to tell me about my heater down there. When the repair man came, he did it so quick. I said, "How you do this this quick like that?" He said, "Because I cut the pipe off." He didn't do it right, and now, my water pressure is down.
I was very upset because the AHS rep said, "Well, what is the problem?" I said, "You can't help me with the problem because I've talked to you guys several times. I need to speak to a manager." And they didn't want me to speak to a manager. I called back the next day hoping to get someone else then when I got someone else, I could hardly understand them. I noticed a lot of Mexicans working for American Home Shield, but still, they were able to speak English very well. These ones that I've been getting can't speak English well, and they tell me, "I'm sorry, I can't let you talk to a manager." Then, I got ahold of one person and I don't think she was from Mexico. I understood every word she said and she got me to a manager who said someone will be out to take care of this.
When I called back again, AHS told me that he would be calling me within a day. This man never called me back again. I'm in the same bind I was, and I'm tired of calling. The repair man was told to come back three weeks ago, but they never got him back. I'm getting ready to cancel out my service. This is the second time I was with American Home Shield and it seems like each time I go back and give them another chance, they mess up again. I'm very disappointed with this company.
I don't know why American Home Shield would mess with a company that they know is not doing the job, and then they're gonna tell me that the master is going to call me. This man is not thinking about calling me. When he called, he sent a guy and he did a halfway job. Quick and fast. They don't care. Whatever contract AHS has with them, they'll need to cancel it out and get somebody else because they're gonna lose a lot of customers with this character.

So far, it's been good with American Home Shield. My oven was smelling like gas when I turned it on and we got that fixed thru them. But when the person was there fixing it, he scratched my cabinet doors and said somebody would get ahold of me last week to get that fixed but I never heard anything. I called that appliance repair company yesterday and today. Today, I finally left a message but haven't heard back from them. On the other claim, our hot water heater kept shutting off. I called American Home Shield on Friday and there was somebody there to fix it within two hours.

American Home Shield said my refrigerator was deemed unrepairable. But it has only been five years. But my understanding of the warranty program is they replace it with the same value of the one I had. And when they say the same value, they meant depreciation, the same value that it was five years ago. That was not my understanding. However, I was wrong. I called AHS back and told them I needed more money because I could not come up with that $700 that would be the difference for the exact refrigerator. And the rep said, “Well, let me see.” She gave me more money. And I thought, “If I hadn’t been complaining, they wouldn't have given me that more money.” There are some people not like me, and they would just accept what AHS would say and take the lesser amount. But in this house, I could not afford that.
The only complaint I have is the check I'm getting from AHS is taking way too long. I’m without a refrigerator. Luckily, I had a bottom freezer, and a couple of days ago, that quit. I had to borrow a smaller refrigerator from someone, but nobody has a smaller freezer. So, we are limited as to what we can eat. And even when I get the check, Sears would have to order the refrigerator. So, it's going to be another couple of weeks after I get the check. Other than that, Sears has been great. The tech got the job done.

American Home Shield's contractors have been very good. The people that come out usually wear their masks and they come to the house and introduce themselves. They call ahead of time because that's been scheduled, and then they come in and they get right to work and take care of it. They're professional in their manner, but they're also knowledgeable.

Whatever I ask AHS, they send somebody and take care of the problem. A recent claim was when All Hours Emergency Plumber came out for my shower that was leaking behind the walls. The plumber came and fixed the cartridge on the handle of the shower and then he had to get some other contractors to come in here and take the shower apart. They put a purifier in it and made sure there was no mold and mildew in the house and all that. They took care of everything.
But some of their contractors don't know what they're doing. I wasn't getting any ventilation in a couple of the rooms, which mean the air ducts weren't working. The AC guy went up there in the attic and he never fixed anything. Also, he fell and cracked one of the beams. They told me they were gonna fix it but they never did. This was in December and I still haven't heard from them. The beam is still cracked and I'm still having airflow problems in there.
Then, I came to find out that the return ducts aren’t even hooked up. A tech came just last week and all he told me was that my problem is that I had the wrong air filter. He didn’t look at the return ducts. Every time I call Home Shield, I have to pay for them to bring service out here and I'm not getting any service. My air condition still isn’t fixed. And Home Shield is getting ripped off because these people are billing them and they aren’t fixing anything.

I was with AHS before. I went back to them because the one that I had really screwed me over. I got a better policy now with them because as soon as this weather clears up, I've called them to come out and fix my house. That was what they promised they would do since I was switching to them and took the better program they were offering. They also gave me a senior discount.

American Home Shield has to do something about communicating expectation of repair with the amount of time it actually takes. If parts are needed, it was almost a month and a half. I would be a lot more patient had I known that. But I was ready to call up and cancel the policy. And if it wasn't for the great service I got from the repair shop once they showed up, I probably would have. But at what point my time and inconvenience is worth more than waiting for a part? Either replace the appliance, but at least give me an indication of how long it's going to take.

The first time the technician came, it was raining. He said that it would corrupt the system if he had to go open up the refrigerants. So, we got it put off for another day when it wasn’t gonna rain. Then a second technician came and he told me that he found the leaks, and they were more than one leak, and that he found it in a coil, and that the coil would need to be replaced. My system is old, so it's gonna cost a lot for the refrigerant because that particular refrigerant is no longer being made. And so, whatever is in supply, it's like $175 per pound. American Home Shield is only paying $10 a pound, so I would have to pay the other $165 a pound. It's probably gonna take 10 to 13 pounds because of the size of the system to fill it back up. He said he’d give me a quote for a new system if I just wanna change the outside unit, that he’d give me a quote for the outside unit because the warranty company is gonna pay to fix the coil. So I accepted that.

I like that it's a one flat fee, and a flat fee for every service call. I recently had a leaky AC unit and a not working AC unit. It took the contractor four days to come out. It took the tech 20 minutes to fix it. The units are doing good. I'm gonna continue American Home Shield.

Our garbage disposal was not working properly. My husband tried to reset it, but it was still not working properly. So we had to have a somebody come out and look at it. He came out, fixed the garbage disposal, and it's working fine now. He did a good job. He was fast and friendly.

So they redirected me to a different company. The company called me, made an estimation, and came in one week and fixed everything. It was pretty easy.

My washer wasn't draining properly. It locked up on me and wouldn't shut off. It was sucking the little socks of my nieces into the filter. The tech had to take the thing apart, rodded the filter and pulled out six socks. The process with AHS worked out great. Things happened exactly as the rep said it would happen. The contractor was on time. He was a nice guy and I'm totally satisfied with the service.

The pool pump wasn't suctioning, pulling the water into the filter. Someone from Aaron's Pools came out, looked at the old pump system, and got it going. They were really good and informative. I like that American Home Shield is available and it covers everything I need.

I paid for a platinum level American Home Shield membership. I called back to get my furnace tuned up, and they said I had to wait three more days and that I was not out of the 30-day grace period. I was okay with that. So I simply called back and said, "The 30 days is up. I'm ready to schedule my tune up." They said, "We don't offer that." I said, "What the hell? You verbally told me that. I saw it on your website." They said sorry, but I told them to let me talk to someone that possibly could help me, like a supervisor. They said, "I don't have a supervisor here. We'll have to have him call you back." So I gave them my information. But at the end of the week, I didn't hear anything.
I called back again and explained what happened. They said, "Oh, so sorry, so sorry. But we don't offer a furnace tune up.” But they offered it before I bought it. So I asked to talk to a supervisor and they said, "You want to escalate this call?" I said, "I'm not sure the terminology you need to use, but I want to talk to a supervisor." So they said, "Hold on." Then I got Angela, a supervisor, and explained what happened. She said, "Yeah. I see your point, sir. You've been told you are going to get this and then we didn't give it to you. Let me see what I can do." Then there was a click and I was disconnected. It was a 45-minute phone call.
I called American Home Shield back a few days later, explained it again to the customer service rep and that I wanted a tune up. But I still got the same answer, "Oh, we don't give that anymore." So I asked to speak with a supervisor. The rep said, "Oh, would you like to escalate this to...?" I replied, "Sure. Escalate it." I got another person and I had to go over the whole story again. She said, “Is there anything else I can help you with?" But she was just trying to get that answer so she could hang up. So I said, "Yeah. You can help me. I need help. Your company." I told her that I was frustrated and I felt that I was very taken advantage of.
Now, I called the 800 customer service number and pushed the button for sales. I immediately got an answer. I got a very clear speaking person and I told her what was going on. She was very apologetic and sympathetic. She told me, "I will absolutely escalate this. I'll get this to my supervisor. And we'll have someone call you back within 48 hours." But I've heard nothing.
It's almost a month passed since I was told that I was eligible to get my furnace tuned up. That was part of the reason I did the membership with the platinum service. I'm ready to cancel the platinum agreement, get my refund prorated and go back to Fidelity because American Home Shield has not done anything. It's not very good business they're doing, so far.

I had an issue with my washing machine and I called American Home Shield, and they made the appointment. The only problem with them is that it's kind of hard to get people. They had a long waiting list and they couldn't get me for a week. So, I called and asked them if there was anybody that could do the service sooner. They found somebody that could service it sooner, and he came out. He was really nice. He did what he had to do. He fixed what I called him for, but he noticed that something else was going out, and he fixed that, too. So, I like him.

I was really frustrated last year. We had our main sewer line go out and I had main sewer insurance. But the break was only in the road, it wasn’t on our property. Because of where we lived, they made it a rule 10 years ago that the line is still ours, even into the street, because they're having so many of them fail. I thought that they were going to at least cover us, or at least maybe even help out. But AHS did absolutely nothing. We had to replace our entire main sewer line ourselves, which was very frustrating because we had that insured specifically. We had to pay almost $20,000 out of pocket when we had that item insured. But other than that, we haven't had any issues. Everything else has been fine. But that almost made us walk away completely. We were gonna stop after the year, then they offered to cut down costs for us. So, we decided to stay another year.

We had a dishwasher problem and then a water heater problem. These were all fixed. I'm happy. The claims process went fine. American Home Shield located the person that would help me and then they called me up pretty fast. They're doing a pretty good job.

My last experience, which was the refrigerator icemaker repair, was great. But I've had a number of times it was not positive. Very difficult issues that would come up. And I was responsible for chasing American Home Shield down with the vendor that they contacted to come and do the work. That has been a disappointing aspect of this experience. I've never used a home warranty product before, so I've continued to use it, but I had some big concerns about the process and how awkward it is. And there's no way to call and talk to anybody with any authority in AHS.
The tech showed up on time and got it done, and it has been working perfectly, so I'm very satisfied with that. But a consumer should be able to call AHS and talk to a person that has some capacity to look into a situation and resolve a situation. And when a customer describes the issue that they need assistance with and provides things like model numbers and make and all that information, it would be helpful if the repair person could bring the associated parts with that on that trip instead of them coming, looking at the situation, and saying, “Well, now I'm gonna have to go order parts. I'll be back in a week or two.” So, this hasn’t been simple and easy, and obvious and direct. It should be. That's the way AHS markets their product, that it takes the burden off of me to deal with these things. But that's not the case.

The service of AHS seemed good and the benefits that come with it and the pricing were all better than other people. The signup process was good. The only downside was there was a very large delay in the call between me talking and them talking. The rep's system was down. So, the rep had to call me back 15 minutes later to get everything back up and running.

The tech just changed the flapper in the toilet and didn't check the toilet and we've got a leak. Also, we needed some faucets changed and we had changed the order that morning. So I realized he probably didn't get it and told me he didn't have time. But he said put another call in and he would come back. We did but he didn't. So, we went with another company, but they never even called to set an appointment. I'm on my third company this morning and they haven’t called. They have not responded at all, so I'm calling today to get the fourth company.
I've been with American Home Shield for 22 years. I brought a lot of people to them when they first started out. What I don't like is having to speak to someone in the Philippines. I hate talking to people that read a cue card. Everybody says they don't read cue cards. Then why do they say the same thing over and over? They have no authority. And their queue, I would fire their computer programmers.
I spent six months fighting with AHS to replace my furnace. The coil interfaces between the air conditioning and the furnace and is partly responsible for pumping the air through the system. They did not replace the coil. They only replaced the furnace. They were not intelligent enough to understand what I was saying. These pipes need to be replaced. So, they cannot replace that. The air conditioning is going on the fritz and I have to fight with that. All I’m doing is fighting. On top of that, they have a program where you can upgrade. In other words, part of their program has always been, “Would you like to upgrade, since you’re going to pay the difference?” I was offered that opportunity on the furnace. I was told, “This is what you get,” and that's it. So they didn’t comply with their own contract program.

The outside faucet was leaking at the valve. The contractor was solid. This is the second time I've had to use the American Home Shield and I've heard of people not liking the providers because it's essentially random for them. But it's super too, right now. So they're pretty awesome. It's a benefit not having to worry about the big stuff. Our first time was our AC and that was gonna be a huge cost. And it was literally 50 bucks and they fixed everything. It's just very nice service.

There was no hot water coming out in one of my showers and then for the other bathroom, the hot water was lasting only about 10 minutes. So I called American Home Shield and the lady at the customer service helped me. She gave me a number and doing the appointment, I called the number, and the contractor had the appointment earlier than she thought. He fixed the issue and the hot water lasts longer now.

We have water leaking in the kitchen. I used the online claim option for American Home Shield and the plumber company called me within a day. The next service was available a day later, which was fine. Alan was my tech and he did really well. He replaced the handles because it was covered in my warranty. But he has to come back. They got to call me back because now the water doesn't work at all.

I'm paying 70 a month and then I have to pay 125 every time I have an issue. The 70 should apply for the service call. Recently, the techs from Affordable Garage Door replaced the switch on the wall for the garage door. But I had another company come before with which I did not have to pay a service charge. I am considering dropping or changing to a better place. Except the service charge, everything is good.

The service has been crappy. My hot water tank started leaking, so I called to have it repaired and the plumber that American Home Shield assigned me was Nussbaumer Plumbing. They couldn't get me in until Friday, and that was a Tuesday, and it was starting to flood my basement. I called American Home Shield, and they said that they would prioritize it as an emergency and if they couldn't find anybody within four hours, then I was welcome to find my own plumber.
They never called me back at all. I found my own plumber, had it done the next day and when I called to find out how to submit my receipt, they told me that they never approved for me to find my own plumber. I said, "Well, your person on the phone said that I could find one if they couldn't find one for me." I've been waiting for them to reimburse me, and they haven't done so yet. They've been saying that they had to review that phone call, and they haven't. I've been asking for the call review since January, and I keep calling them every week.
American Home Shield has done other repairs for me, and all of those have been fine, but this one's really sticking out to me right now. Also, it would be great if they didn't have their call center in Asia. Not to offend anybody, but it's really hard talking to somebody that sometimes is just reading from a script and doesn't know what else to say. Not only that, you also can't talk to anybody who's above that person to get anything done when you do have a problem.

I put in a claim to American Home Shield for the heating unit. It's over 20 years old and it doesn't heat my home properly. We're about to hit the summer months so that won't really be applicable. The gentleman said it's working fine, but my house just doesn't get hot the way it should. If I put it at 72, it should be 72 in the house. I have to put it at 77 to get it up to 72 degrees. He cleaned it. The furnace needs to be replaced but as long as someone says it works okay, AHS is not going to replace it. Last year, they replaced six parts and they've already come out and replaced another part this year. I think what’s gonna end up happening is they're gonna end up rebuilding my AC unit instead of replacing it. I guess it's more cost-effective for them to replace the parts as opposed to the whole unit.
I think they'd be better off replacing the unit and moving on and they won't have an issue with me for the next 20 years but that’s just not what they’re gonna do. It’s expensive to replace it and I’m aware of that. So, if they can avoid replacing it, they'll avoid replacing it. They’ll just continue to replace the parts. Other than that, I like the response time to the vendors that they have. It's just that their automated system is annoying. It takes you forever to get a human being, but the response time is really quick when you do get someone. They try to get a vendor out pretty quickly, which is appreciated, especially when it's concerning your heat and AC use. I'm grateful that I have the warranty because when I think about what I could be spending on repairs, even though I'm not happy about them just piecing together the air conditioning unit, as long as it works, I'm good.

I'm not enjoying American Home Shield’s service. My stove started messing up so I filed the claim with AHS and they sent one person who changed a bunch of stuff on the stove. And the same thing happened again. I called back again. It was in 30 days that same thing happened. They sent somebody else again with no charge. I was without a stove since August of last year and they didn't want to replace it. They sent 10 different companies to fix it.
I was looking forward to getting a different company. I was just waiting for AHS to close my case. After almost a year, they replaced my stove. This last time, even the technician that went out there told me, “No, there's nothing I can do about the stove.” And he called and told the company, “You know what? I can’t fix the stove. Everything that needs to be replaced, it’s already got replaced.” It took me a long time and a lot of fighting. This last time, I even told AHS that if they don’t replace the stove, I might try to file a lawsuit and make a report with ConsumerAffairs or the Better Business Bureau because they are too much. The only thing I got happy is that I got my stove replaced after almost a year. But that’s that. I don’t recommend AHS.

When I first signed up, my email address went to the previous homeowner’s plan. But American Home Shield got that fixed. I had a little problem with the pipe that was leaking and the contractor came to fix it. It's working good now. American Home Shield is working good. Their people is very nice and I feel comfortable with the customer service.

I had a repairman come out yesterday to look at my dryer. And that's up in the air. The tub may be warped, so that rope glider came out on one side again. He thinks the tub may be warped. It may need a new tub. It was on backorder. So, I don't know how long it's gonna be before the dryer piece will be ready. And that's disconcerting. But as far as our dishwasher and refrigerator stuff, all of that was fine. American Home Shield couldn't get the part for the refrigerator, so I got a Lowe's e-card for $1,241. I couldn't buy a good refrigerator for that. But I went ahead and upgraded a bit. The dishwasher is fine. The tech replaced the soap dispenser, and the jet dry dispenser thing. And that's all it needed. So, it's working great. I'm pleased so far.

The heating element in the dryer was not heating at all. Customer service was outstanding and the contractor reached out to me within 24 hours. They had to order the parts. Once they ordered the parts, then they contacted me within about 72 hours to arrange for installation. The gentleman who came out immediately started working. In a half-hour, he had the dryer all torn apart, he reinstalled, put it back together again and it was back operation.

The thermostat and pilot light of the water heater had melted some of the wires. So, the whole thermostat of the water heater had to be replaced. They replaced it for me completely. The service was great.

So far, the claim process has been easy. I have the option to either set something up online or call and talk to a representative. Also, when we had somebody look at our dryer, the contractor did a virtual visit and it was nice to have that option. They listened to what was going on and had me snap a few pictures. They figured out from that what was going on and had the parts all ready to come in with.
Recently, our water heater was producing little hot water so I had Doherty's Plumbing take a look at it. They diagnosed it and said they would contact American Home Shield. We got a contact a month later that they approved water heater. Doherty's got it installed very quickly. They didn't leave a mess. They went over functionality and everything they had done with me.
Taking care of our members is the main goal here at AHS. I am glad that you were happy with the work done.

The washing machine wasn't working. We called in. American Home Shield sent out the service to do an assessment, and they determined that it was repairable and they saw the part. They ordered the part and that was it. It took a couple of weeks to get it sorted out. But they had somebody out there within three days of the first one. He was really good. My wife wanted him to scrap the washer and buy a new one, but they fixed it and that was plan B. Everything was good.

Our warranty program is about to expire, and I'm thinking about renewing it. It offers convenience, and I've had pretty good experience during the different occasions I’ve used them. When our washing machine was leaking, the repair people responded in two days and replaced some parts. They did great, and I enjoyed working with them.

There was a leak in my bedroom in my water pipe. The contractor came out and fixed it. It was difficult because American Home Shield assigned one plumbing company, but nobody called me for four days. It took four phone calls to AHS to try to get another plumber out here while I was out of water. And they finally assigned Hers & His Plumbing.
It took so long for AHS to contact me back. They didn't stay in touch. Nobody would stay and contact me at all. I had to call them every time. I got no response from them whatsoever. I had to call them and stay on hold for hours to try to get Hers & His Plumbing out here before they did anything. It took way too long trying to go with that first company that they assigned. And nobody could get anything done for a week. I didn't get a call from the contractor, First Choice. And I didn't get a call from AHS for three days in a row. And the first lady I talked to at AHS, I explained I had no water. And she said, “Well, we're gonna put an urgent express call on this for you.” Didn’t hear from anybody.
I kept having to call them back and still got no response until, finally, I got off of my ass to look. “This is not good. I want a plumbing company out here now. You've got to have more than one plumbing company assigned to your area here.” And they finally said yes and got that other company assigned. I had to make the initiative to do all of that. And I work in this home improvement business. I shouldn't have to do that.
After AHS assigned, Hers & His came right out, did the inspection, did everything, and were fantastic to work with. Zach was the gentleman's name that came out. He was very good, professional, came out, figured everything out. They had to get a leak detecting company to come out and find the leak. And the next day, they came back and fixed it. Hers & His Plumbing did a great job. AHS should have assigned them right away if they put it in as an emergency, rather than me waiting for four days before I called them back and got no contact with them. That was the only problem.

I had a clogged drain. I called American Home Shield to let them know. That was on a Thursday, and the tech came that Monday. He unclogged the drain. He was nice. I liked him. Having my warranty, I don’t have to worry about paying a huge amount of money. When I have to call them, it’s only $100. I like the way AHS treats people.

I submitted a ticket online for the AC. Then I got contacted by the service provider. They came in, did the diagnosis, and then bought a new part and got it fixed. It's been working for the past week with no issue. The claims process with AHS was good. I used to have a different provider and the process was much more complicated. So I've been happy so far.

The first time around that the contractor came for the AC, they ordered the wrong part. But other than that, mistakes happen. I’m not too upset about it. The technician is very professional. When he called and gave me an estimated arrival time, he was always on time. So he’s pretty good. He did a good job. The AC is working. Overall, American Home Shield pretty much helps you save a lot. You use it when it's needed. The service is automatically done online. So it’s an easy process.

I'm not happy with AHS. I put in a call for my hot water heater. They sent somebody out. The diagnosis they gave me was wrong. They refused to cover the appliance when I set it up. They also told me they would add my freezer to my warranty because I have a freestanding freezer. But they didn't do that. They want me to keep paying for the warranty and they don't want me to cancel it, but they don't want to cover anything they have on it.

American Home Shield was not that great. I wasn't with them long, but I got the beginning charge for joining. Then I had a plumbing issue less than 30 days. So they gave me the number to call the plumber, which I paid for. But what was the purpose of me calling them and then them giving me a telephone number to call the plumber myself? I could’ve called a plumber anywhere in my local area. I understood the part that they don't do anything for a month. But the part I didn't understand is why I was being charged $100 if they were not making the call. It was a bad experience. They advertise on TV and they are great company. But in the long run, they're not. You don't charge somebody for a full month, then charge them $100, and get nothing for it. That's a rip-off.

I started off with American Home Shield, and then I switched to Choice. I didn't like Choice’s webpage and I didn't have a very good experience with them the first time I had to call in for service, so I switched back to American Home Shield. For the most part, my experience was pretty good. I did have one instance with a refrigerator where it took them the fourth time coming out before they replaced it. And in that time, I lost a freezer full of food. So, my suggestion to them was to possibly make an add-on that they would maybe put a cap on the amount of food one loses in the refrigerator because of the fridge being broken. Having the warranty is great for somebody that is not a fixer-upper or doesn't have the funds on hand immediately to get something done.

The repair person deemed our kitchen faucet to be unrepairable. We went through AHS to replace. Repair person came in with new faucet and said they were replacing it with the same one I originally had. No need to stare at the guy doing the work, right? He left and when I came into room the faucet was a different design style. Slightly different color and a brand name I never heard of. The guy did a great job installing but when I called AHS they said "it's close enough". I was shocked.
We purchased the policy to protect what I've invested in. I don't want an ugly, cheap, discolored faucet in my modern new home! I sent pics of the differences which are actually hard to pick up accurately with my phone camera but when in person you can completely see the differences against the rest of home. Just so disappointed with this company! I have to purchase and hire someone to reinstall my faucet. I would have to say BUYER BEWARE when considering buying a policy with them. PS. I am a realtor and purchased the absolute best policy I could buy with them.

We had sewage backing up from the toilet into our shower. The techs that AHS sent said they needed to snake it. They snaked and snaked. They said they went 36 feet. The guy said it was full of tampons and baby wipes. I said those weren't coming from us. Then a couple of days later, my youngest went in. She flushed and it wouldn't go down. I plunged and plunged till the cows came home, couldn't get it. My husband came home. He plunged and plunged and it started backing up into the shower again. We called them and I said there was an issue. They came back yesterday and walked in, went into the bathroom. They ran the shower and the sink. They flushed the toilet about 40 times and nothing came back. They said it’s clear. They were very polite. They were supposed to be there between 12:00 and 2:00 and they showed up at 8:40. Everything is working okay now.

I decided to get American Home Shield because most of my appliances are 10 years old and they are probably going to start breaking down. And so, I thought it was about a good time to get the coverage. There was another company that first reached out to me but I wasn't happy with them. On the other hand, American Home Shield's representative was very responsive and the rate may have just been a tiny bit more than the other company. But I wanted a company that was going to respond to me when I needed to be communicated to. If anything goes wrong with all of my appliances excluding my microwave plus wall heaters, I call American Home Shield and they will send out somebody who will either fix it or determine if something needs to be replaced. If it needs to be replaced, they will replace it comparable to what I currently own.
The other reason that I had signed up was because there was one wall heater that was acting up. I hope it even makes it through the 30-day window of the warranty. On the 4th of February, it stopped working. I was able to press the button and get it working but it would turn off quickly. I called my home warranty and told them about the issue. I was under the assumption from the communication that I got that day that they were looking to find a provider to come and fix my heater. But I heard nothing for four days. I called and they said, "OhYou called in on the 4th. Your policy didn't start till the 5th. So it wasn't covered." Communication about that would have been nice.
I got the heater to work but it kept turning off. I called American Home Shield again and they said, "That one heater obviously you can't get covered because you've already called in on it... You have to prove that this one's been fixed before we'll even come fix any other heater in your home." It was very unclear to me, and it was very confusing. That was my first experience trying to use my policy and this communication that I thought was great with the person who sold me the policy wasn't great in that experience. That was disappointing.

I've been happy with American Home Shield generally. Sometimes, it's not the easiest depending on the job and what we're dealing with and there are a lot of steps to go through. With replacing something, like air conditioning, you need to get somebody out and you need to get them to determine that it needs to be replaced. Then, you need to get American Home Shield to agree. When they agree, of course, not everything's covered. You have to get the technician to tell you how much is not covered and how much you have to pay. Much of the extra that you pay is for modifications on whatever is hooked up to be up to code. Some of these costs vary dramatically. So, it's out of the control of American Home Shield since they're only paying for the equipment and the installation. And then, they turn around and they say, "Well, what about a cashout?"
The last situation I had is, "Okay, for the inside-outside full air conditioner with install, we'll give you less than $1,000." "What?" Those units cost $2,000 apiece, plus install. So, you're probably getting $2,500 worth of equipment when somebody does it, but they only give a cashout for less than half of that for whatever reason. So then, you're stuck with "do I take $1,000 and get somebody who's more honest in giving me the extra stuff to code to deal with, or am I losing money because they're not paying a full cashout for the value of the equipment?". Those are issues that you deal with American Home Shield and with the provider they have. So, it's good, but it's difficult.
Recently, techs came to one of my properties to repair a refrigerator that had stopped cooling. They identified the problem on the first contact and they fixed it. Then, they said, "You got another problem which is a light switch when you open the door for the thing. We need to order that and we'll come back." They came back in a week and fixed it at no extra cost. That was great.
When it's a repair, that goes pretty well because American Home Shield will certainly pay for a repair on a system. When it comes to replacement of the equipment, we've been through hoops on dishwashers, refrigerators, and air conditioning systems, and we go through hoops with American Home Shield on that to figure out the value.
The last company sent for the air conditioner on our rental property said, "The condenser's out. You need to replace it. It's old. You need the inside and outside unit." And American Home Shield has agreed to pay for that. Our cost to install that with upgrades is $3,500 out of pocket in addition to what AHS is paying for the air conditioner. You can buy a unit for $3,500 and have it installed, never mind the extras that they're charging. In this case, it was exorbitant and I thought they were scamming me.
I've had a lot of experience with AHS on multiple properties on multiple issues, I requested that they have one of their approved companies see this air conditioner that I had a problem with. The person who I'm calling is in the Philippines and they say, "No, I'm sorry, we can't select that company. You have to take what the computer selects." And I said, "Really? Why not? This company has worked with me and is an approved American Home Shield provider for years." I had to take this other company that is scamming me on this deal. If AHS has providers that owners have experience with and request, they should allow that to take place.

I've had my stopped up commode for over a week now and I still don't have my issue fixed. One person says one thing but another says something else. The contractors were good and I like them. They're nice and they've really helped me out before. But this time I'm just disappointed and almost in desperation. They haven't done anything yet. I can't wash clothes or dishes or anything. Other than that, I'm very pleased with AHS and I would definitely recommend them.

I’m very satisfied with American Home Shield. I know eventually they get things done. Sometimes it takes a while longer, depending on the situation like I have right now. A guy came out this morning to repair the stove but he couldn't get it done. He said that there was a problem with electrical, but my electrical guy just came out last week and cleared everything. So they're gonna send another guy to cover what he said he could not cover. That’s set for tomorrow. And once that guy clears the electrical, they’ll send somebody else back again to see if they can get the stove going and they'll go from there. I haven't cooked on my stove in a week and a half now, so that has been tough. And I have the setup for soup today so I can put that in the microwave. But I know it will get taken care of, whether they get it fixed or replaced. I just don't know how long it will take. But it will get done.
When we signed up, the contractor assumed that my address was in Orlando because when they asked me for my address, I said my address was 1720 Open Road, and that was all they needed. But what they did not ask about was the zip code. So what they did was when they put it in 1720 Road, apparently in the Orlando zip code, I said, “No.” The guy was getting ready to come out and he said that he doesn't do Lakeland. It was not the address that he had. We figured out. It was the wrong zip code.
It took three days to get all the bugs out. Once we got it, the guy from Hers and His Plumbing came out. The young man, Dennis, and this guy that worked with him, came in and checked everything out. He went to my number one problem, which was the faucet. He took that apart. Everything that happened, he showed it to me. And the leak, it was crazy. It was amazing how a little thing can cause such a big problem. They fixed that. I was very satisfied with that. And I'm very satisfied with Hers and His Plumbing.
The next day, a young guy came out. He took care of it because still the dryer wasn't coming on. What it was was in the breaker box. So, he replaced that breaker in the box and checked everything, turned the dryer on, and there it was. When my wife connected the washer, she had the wrong line going in the cold so we didn't have cold water going in there. They came and took care of that as well.

I have a leak in my shower and under my sink. The contractor came out and looked at it. But I haven't heard anything since. They weren't that good. It's been over two weeks since they saw the bathroom. The follow-ups need to be more clear because now, I'm just sitting and waiting and not sure what the turnaround time’s gonna be. The contractor didn't tell me when to look out for them to come and do the leak. I had another claim with the roof to get some patching done and it went better because the roofing guy was really responsive. I should be getting that done within the next two weeks. The roofing contractor was amazing and really thorough.
