    We like American Home Shield a lot. They've updated some of the things they're doing because I'm not having to wait as long to get someone out here. They asked me to take pictures of the appliance that I was having a problem with, and all that may be handled before they get here so I don't wait two or three weeks to get a part. Or sometimes, the people that they send wouldn't even contact me. I'd have to contact them and then they take forever to get out here. Then I'd call and say, “When is it coming in?” I was not satisfied with it. But the last time I called, I was satisfied. I liked the last contractor that was out here. They called to delay the service for a week because of some problem in their family. But at least they called and were in contact with me. We’ve used another company before and they were slow to respond and sometimes, they wouldn't even call me.

    We tried to replace the unit, and we didn't do it as well as we could have. A tech came out and fixed that. Then there was a crack in the reservoir of one of the toilets so we had to replace the whole unit after that. Jerry was nice. However, contacting American Home Shield by phone is always frustrating. There's no way to speak to anyone who works directly with American Home Shield that's making some bigger decisions. You're getting sometimes different information from different people. They're telling you they'll call back but they never call back. There's no follow through.

    American Home Shield had lied to me one time. I called first. The rep was very helpful to me. When I called back, I got somebody else. It was about the antifreeze. The copay is too much, plus what you have to pay every month. AHS told me they wouldn't put the antifreeze. We had to do that ourselves. But I found out something there. So, we were in this house for three weeks with no air conditioning. When I got back again while the guy was out here talking, he said, “You are covered. ’Cause you have the platinum. And when you got that platinum, you are covered. They're supposed to put it in.” He was so good. I love that guy. And he said, “Let me pull it up and show you.”

    While he was here, I called AHS. I'm glad I got the rep I got before. She said, “Yes. You are covered.” I said, “Okay. That's all I want to know.” I love her. She was good and she helped me. That's why I like to call early in the morning to get her. She's the one that I love to talk to. When I call a bit later than that, I get somebody else. You could get the wrong one that will give you the right answer, or get the right ones that will give you the right answer. AHS needs to get rid of a couple of ones they got working there.

    When you get platinum, that’s it. But me paying a $100 copay? I lost $300. The first time, the guy couldn't do this or that. “You have to do that yourself. That gotta come out your pocket.” That was $100. But he couldn’t do that. That was another $100. I live on a fixed income. I don't work. I'm disabled, yet I was taken advantage of. When you pay $79 a month for platinum and if you end up anything breaks in the house, and somebody has to come out and fix it, that's $100 copay. That should come down on that copay. Because when I had them, when I had them a long time ago, it wasn't $100. My copay was $60. And a lot of us is upset about that. I’m gonna straighten it down because the way they would do wasn’t right. There are seniors. I’m a senior. I have a teenager. And I have my little dog. We were completely miserable.

    And the guy duped me on the money I had to pay out of my pocket myself. He didn’t even fix it. So, the boy that came out here and fixed my air conditioning said, “This is what he did.” He is good. He had to take a picture of what the one I hired to do it did. He said, “Miss, you know what? So, he just got your money for nothing.” I said, “Well, here's a picture he took.” He said, “Uh-uh. He didn't do nothing.” And I'm not gonna be used anymore like that. They better not start that mess anymore.

    My AC went out. First, I called American Home Shield and they sent out Max Cool to evaluate it and there was a leak in my cooling system, the Freon. They patched it up and it worked fine for about two days, and then it went out again. I filed another claim with American Home Shield and they sent Max Cool out again. This time, the unit inside my garage had a defective part and they had to order the part, which they got in a day, and then they came out and replaced it and everything's working fine so far.

    American Home Shield has bad AC contractors. One came out to repair one of my ACs that wasn’t working and he said what he did, wrote it up and left. A few weeks later, my AC overflowed and cracks in my ceiling. The water went through my ceiling, through my floor and then to the garage. When I checked his work, he had not done what he said he did. So, I called American Home Shield and they sent another contractor. The guy documented the things the first guy did wrong. He did not drain the line, which was why it clogged up and overflowed, and he said he cleaned the drain line out but didn’t. I got a whole gallon full of muck out of the drain line when the next AC contractor came and cleaned it himself. The first guy also wired the float valve backwards. The float valve cuts it off when it starts to accumulate water and it never cut off because he wired it wrong, which was what caused it to overflow.

    I sent a letter to American Home Shield describing these problems, put pictures of what happened and put the documents of the next AC contractor documenting what he found. But I never heard anything back from AHS on that. I will have to take action if I want them to fix the damages. So, that’s one bad experience. We’ve had several other bad experiences with AC contractors. But once in a while, we get a good AC contractor and we have a good experience. AHS’ service other than AC is okay but I would like them to improve on it by coming to fix my house that their air conditioning contractor damaged.

    Excellence Air came out to my rental property for the AC. It wasn't working and Excellence Air came out twice. The only thing is they could come out on a weekend. The issue was reported on a Friday and they didn't come out till Monday. We are in Las Vegas and the tenants didn't have any cold air downstairs for a couple of days.

    I will not continue my business with AHS. I live in Arizona and we are currently experiencing a heat wave. I woke up to my AC not cooling (of all days) and my home thermostat is currently at 96 degrees (and we are definitely feeling it), the current weather is 104 degrees. I immediately went online scheduled an appointment, called the contractors explained my family's needs, and was told that I would have to wait another 2 days for my AC to be serviced and they could not give me a time.

    Today is Tuesday, June 14, 2022, the appointment is for June 16, 2022, time - unknown. I looked up the temperatures for June 15th & 16th, and it's showing 105 & 111 degrees. I called AHS and explained to them what the contractor told me. I asked the AHS representative if there was any way I could get a list of their affiliated contractors to see if there was an earlier date for servicing my AC. The AHS rep told me that he would have to cancel my existing appointment to get a new one (although that's not what I asked) and he could not help with any further options. Not sure why it's so difficult for AHS reps to help their customers find the best service options by simply calling around but I guess that's not a part of their customer service satisfaction policy. I pay $68.82/mo for their Shield Platinum with a $100 TRADE SERVICE CALL FEE each time I place a service order. I am done with AHS and will not recommend them to anyone.

    I sold my home in April 2022. I called to cancel AHS in March as I canceled everything else for the date that I would move out in April. AHS renewed a contract that was not authorized or signed by me and continued to bill me for service until June 2022. They had not serviced my home since July 2021. When I contacted them regarding the issue, they refused to correct it and said it would be turned over to collections. I let them know that I would be disputing any charges because the account was canceled. I spoke with 3 different people regarding this issue and today a rep called me posing as a supervisor just to say the same thing they said the day before. Beware before using this company.

    This should be a 1 star review. I paid $85 to have them come look at a light. A fricken light that was not working. Not some overly complicated situation. Basically long story short, they came out to my unit. Looked at the light and said "Light does not work". 3 minutes later he was gone, said AHS would contact me. Didn't actually get a call, I got a request to leave a review about services rendered. I said "Why would I review you guys, nothing has been done." They proceeded to tell me they closed the work order because fixing the light is not covered. I said "What? Why did you all even come out then..." and they said, "Oh you should read the contract." What kind of scammer crap is this warranty company?

    One claim was a dryer, which was scheduled to be taken care of on Thursday the 9th between 2:30 and 4:30. The tech was a great guy. The problem that I had was a ceiling fan. American Home Shield sent a person out a week and a half ago. He said he couldn't replace the fan because it was too high off the floor. They canceled the plan, then I called twice. So, I called yesterday and we stayed on the phone for almost half an hour. They tried to give me all kinds of excuses. They wanted to charge me for reopen a claim for which they messed up and I disagreed with it.

    I was disgruntled with the way that they handled the claim because they closed it. They didn't even consult me. And it never was touched. The guy came out took the light fixture off the fan, checked everything out, and the light worked but the fan didn't. He said it needed to be replaced and he would go back to his office and tell his supervisor to contact AHS to give the job to someone else. Instead of doing that, they canceled it and said they wouldn't change it. So, we went through all kinds of things and I took all the excuses away from them. The gentleman that came over from Eric Electric changed the fan and it took him 45 minutes. So, AHS sent the wrong person out the first time. The second guy did a great job. Both claims have been closed and everything turned out great, and both technicians did a great job in completing the job and it was professional.

    So last year in July of 2020 we made a claim about our a/c. Paid the 100.00 They came out and looked at unit said it needed a evap coil and 8 lbs of Freon. That being said it was 1,200 to fix. We currently didn’t have it due to a new baby and other financial responsibilities. So we just used the upstairs unit the rest of the summer. Fast forward to 2021. I called AHS and told them I had the money and would like to fix now. Keep in mind it has been turned off since the previous July. They proceeded to tell me I had to pay another 100.00 because it’s been over 1 month since they last came out. Nothing has changed. Just take my money and fix the issue. Right?! So paid another 100.00 and the contractor told me they didn’t need to come back out so they just ordered the parts. Finally we had ac again or so I thought.

    A week later it wasn’t blowing cold air. Called them back out. The joint they fixed leaked all the Freon out. I was not paying 90.00 per pound again. Lucky me I didn’t have to. Fast forward to June 2022 no ac again. Called. Made a claim. Paid another 100.00. So now I’m 300.00 deep in service call fees plus my 160.00 I’ve been paying monthly for 3+ years. For them to tell me that oh it’s leaking from the same spot. Now they want me to replace condenser, 3lbs of Freon 420.00, surge protector 375.00 and a pad for condenser 150.00 and electrical work 250.00 for a grand total of 1195.00. It hasn’t been 1 year since it was last worked on.

    Thinking about of opening a savings account and putting what I normally pay AHS away. We currently had the kitchen remodel and bought a new washer and dryer. So pretty much everything is now and under a manufacture warranty for a year. For anyone who took the time to read this take your time and shop around. Look at the fine print. Me personally would not recommend this service to family, friends or even a stranger for that matter. All in all spent the ac has cost my family and I a total of 2,995 in the past two years with service fees. Plus what I’ve paid in for 3 years 5,760.00. Total for both 8,755.00 DON’T DO IT!!

    The service was great for they replaced my air conditioner recently. I was very happy with how fast they got that turned around. The AC people were here the very next day to check it out and my system got installed within a week. They were really fast in terms of responding to me any time I had a phone call for them or a question. The guy that replaced the air conditioner was very efficient. He had the whole thing up and fixed within three hours. But it was a whole different story when I had the refrigerator repaired.

    Where I'm located, AHS only uses Sears for repairs, so it was very slow. My fridge claim last time took about six weeks to get repaired. AHS kept sending people out here and they thought the issue was one part, then another part, and then another part. On the fourth time, they got the actual thing fixed. I was very, very angry about this fridge. We were fortunate because we have a garage fridge, so we were able to move all the stuff from there and make it work. My dishwasher claim was the same thing. But the dishwasher went a little faster because they ended up not being able to find the parts, so they had to give me a brand new one. Every single contractor we've had has been great.

    The gentleman who came out was professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He came out right away, too. They scheduled right away as soon as I put in the claim. He needed some extra piece and said that he would order it immediately. Within two days, he had the parts and was right back. It took him less than half an hour to fix my icemaker.

    American Home Shield gives me peace of mind knowing that if something breaks down, I can call and have someone come out and look at it. I’m not worried about being out of thousands and thousands of dollars for each thing that goes wrong. I've had six claims in, and American Home Shield took care of all of it. It cost $75 per claim, but I didn’t realize that you can do multiple issues in one claim. I kept on putting in separate claims and I paid for each. For the contractors, their goal is to fix a unit, not to replace it, which I like a lot. Home warranty companies can’t afford to go out and replace a brand new AC unit for $6,000, when you’re paying only 1,800 bucks or 2,400 bucks per year.

    American Home Shield's claim admission process is very simple. But whenever I call the customer service, what I don't like is the calls are routed overseas somewhere. Sounds like India. So, it is always an issue with them trying to understand what's going on. Just going back and forth, it’s a language barrier there. But the website is easy to navigate, and I like that better. Also, the contractor came within 48 hours, and were very professional. But I need to call them because the ac blows the air lightly.

    I put my claim online with AHS. But the company canceled it. When I called AHS, they said, "You canceled it too." I said, "I didn't cancel." The rep said the company canceled. I said, "But why didn't anybody call me?" The rep said, "We can't let you do anything because you're a day away from your contract ending." I said, "But my contract ends on the 31st. That doesn't mean I can't get service because I put in a claim on 31st before the 1st hit." The rep said, "We're not going to help you." I said, "Let me talk to a manager." The rep said, "You're gonna have to wait two weeks to talk to a manager." But Beaches Air was great. The tech fixed my AC. He told us what was wrong. He was downright amazing and he was early and even came on a holiday.

    I'm dissatisfied right now with the air conditioner situation. I'm ill and I called and told them I need to have this air conditioner come out. Sometimes what happens is, maybe because they're so large, they're not very good at handling and seeing things through to fruition. Especially now that they're more automated, they rely a lot on the customer using their portal. You have to call in. When you get them, they're wonderful, but there's not customer care. There's not someone saying, "Hey, wait a minute. She put this claim in three weeks ago. She said it was an emergency. She's sick. Her air conditioner doesn't cool. She's an asthmatic." I put in, "I need someone out here yesterday." But no one came and I had to call twice. And then they were, "Oh, we're so sorry." So, they waived the fee.

    Recently, the refrigerator was leaking, so I had the gentleman come out. We weren't aware that it was leaking. So, the floor was all wet. The gentleman was really good. He said the drain hole was blocked. He unplugged it and he was great. The fridge was working fine when he left.

    I've had American Home Shield decades for different houses that I've had. The two things that I like about them is the accessibility. They seem to be everywhere or nationwide because I was military. I moved a lot and I lived in different places. Also, they have a very low deductible. A lot of these other places, they want you to pay $175 for each visit. But AHS has been lower than the other guys all 20-something years that I've used them.

    American Home Shield's website is difficult to navigate. I'm trying to put in an order for something to be done and I have to search for it. Even when I type it in, it's not coming up. For instance, I have a washing machine that's a Costway and it's not coming up on American Home Shield, so I can't do a claim for it. Little things like that are a problem for me. It didn't take the contractor long to come out, but putting in the claim took the longest time. So I have been without a washing machine for a whole month because AHS doesn't have a way for me to tell them that that's what I need to be fixed. But the tech was on time. He did what he was supposed to do. He gave me information and resources and told me what I needed to buy to make sure that everything was working perfectly. I've had American Home Shield for a while and it's good to have. If something breaks down in the home, you will have at least someone to come out and look at it.

    Angel Appliances did a wonderful job. When they initially took a look at the unit, they found the gear case was broken. They ordered the parts and when the tech opened it up afterward, he found some other problem. The magnetic piece underneath it was also broken and he came back the very next day and installed everything. Everything worked perfectly. Having AHs is very convenient. It costs a little bit of money, but it gives me a lot of peace of mind.

    The tech who came out for the air conditioning was efficient and nice. But it was a different problem and he couldn’t help with it. He said it was an electrical problem. The electrical guy came and he said it was just the age of the home and the entire home has to be rewired.     It's a deductible fee every single time. And I like the response time every time I've made a call on this place. I also had American Home Shield at my previous house. I didn't have to wait more than a couple of days. The couple of recen times I needed to have a service call done went great. The first one was the before-summer-check-them-up, just to make sure everything was running fine. And all was good. That first guy was great. He likes cats. I have a blind kitty and he adored her. But his service was wonderful, too. The second one was the fan motor busted. The contractor came and replaced it. The guy was afraid to get up on the second story of my house. So, he had to call in another technician, which is fine. I'd rather have them feel safe than sorry. But those two guys did great.

    American Home Shield said they were going to give me the new refrigerator, but they offered me a check instead. But at the time, I said I'd rather have the refrigerator. Other than that, everything's been awesome. I've recommended them to several of my friends and family because I had no idea this was such a good thing. When my garbage disposal quit working, the tech came out, looked at it, and he tried it but it didn't work. But he fixed it, and it's been working ever since. So it was very nice.

    I have used American Home Shield several times since I bought this house and I've been really, really happy. I've liked everybody that they sent out. Everybody that I've dealt with has been extremely good at what they did. They've all been able to either fix it or replace whatever needed fixing or replaced. They replaced my hot water heater, which I'm very thankful for. The only thing that seems to be recurring is the upstairs air conditioner. The contractor came twice recently. They fixed something but then, during the night, it sounded like one of Elon Musk's rockets. So I called them and they came back and they fixed that too. It seems to be okay now.

    Updated on 7/25/2022: I have a previous open request through Consumer Affairs. I was working with Robert ** at AHS and he closed the request without answering me. I have been waiting on an A/c service call for sometime. All techs that they have sent out have said it needs replaced but all Ahs will authorize is more freon, not fixing the issue. If Robert is unable to assist, I would like his supervisor to contact me. My phone # is on the contract as is my email address. He states he called me, but no missed calls or a voicemail. I need follow up. Not having a correctly working A/c for months is difficult with 100+ degree temps.

    Original review: I normally would never turn to social media, but I am at a loss. I have had my Air Conditioner looked at 5/2021 and had Freon added 3 or 4 times between May & Aug of 2021 out of pocket since only $10 a pound is covered. I was told then there wasn’t enough proof of a Freon leak so the unit wouldn’t be replaced. Fast forward to today, and one again Freon had to be added. I have had 2 Ahs companies tell me that the unit needs replaced but that all Ahs will do is add Freon. I had a company of my own add Freon as well in 2020. This company also works for Ahs and says it needs replaced. At what point do we listen to the contractors? I attempted to discuss with customer service but all the reps are so scripted I’ve given up there as well.

    To submit a claim with AHS, it's easy. You could go online. However, when I called for the air conditioning recently, the guy was trying to sell me his package. He fixed the AC, and then he took the parts out and went to his car. He said he called another guy. When I saw that, I completely lost 100% trust in these people. He said, “I'm gonna call the specialist and he's gonna tell you what you need, what you don't.” I just needed my AC fixed. I ended up paying the service charge for them to come out too, 75 bucks. Also when I called for a plumber, the plumber said, “That's not in the contract. We don't do that. That's somebody else.” But they were nice. They didn't fix the pipe. They added some tape, and it tightened the pipe and it fixed it.

    It took a long time to get the AC fixed because they wanted me to put down several $100, to give them $700, which I did. Then, they came back out. I told them what was wrong, and they told me I need to pay them $700. Then another day later, somebody else came out, brought the parts and fixed it. They were supposed to put in some liquid sealant but the tech didn’t know how to spray it in there, so he couldn’t get it in.

    Most of the coolant was spilled and then the tech said I was also paying $700 for the coolant. But the amount of coolant that they expected it to take didn’t fill it up. So I pulled back the $700 from my card and then I called American Home Shield to tell them that I did it. But I haven't heard anything else from them since then. The first tech that came out seemed like he knew what he was doing. But the second one didn’t. American Home Shield might be a good company, but to me, it seems like they’re talking too much money for somebody on a warranty.

    I found out that American Home Shield’s call center is in Columbia. I finally got ahold of one person. It has been good because now I get how to work it. I know that the call center in Columbia has a standard page to read to the customers. Because if they don’t have answers, you’re screwed. My refrigerator was broken since November of last year. And I went around and around with AHS. It was terrible, about the fan.

    That went on from Foster Appliances. I didn’t want to deal with them anymore. And I dealt with Swift which was good with helping me, but they didn’t have the parts. So, AHS sent me to Sears. The kid that came here was so good. I said, “Buddy, I don’t have the part yet.” And he said, “Let me go down there anyway. Let me see what you got.” He came and said, “Yeah, you need a fan.” I said, “I know. I don’t have the parts.” And he said, “You know what? Let me find out what’s going on.”

    He called another vendor from Sears in Redlands. He said, “Sir, I believe we might have the fan. So, I’m gonna drive to Redlands” I live in San Dimas. He drove all the way to Redlands, got the part for us, and came all the way back. And when he came back, I wasn’t even here. He said, “Sir, I’ll sit here in the front porch till you get here.” I said, “Buddy, please don’t leave until we get the part.” I was so anxious. Came in, replaced the part, and the fridge is working perfectly. This kid went out of his way. Without him, I would still be without a refrigerator. AHS better keep that thing with Sears people going, and keep Foster and the other ones out of the picture. Sears was fantastic. Also, when AHS replaced my garbage disposal, they were on it. I called in. I paid my money. The guy came in and said, “I’ll be out in 20 minutes,” he was out in 15. It was great.

    It was 90 degrees in my house. The ac didn't work. I had to put it down to 50 to get it to cool. The contractor was out the next day and fixed it. The tec went downstairs, came up, told me what he did, and that it should be working now. He put some Freon and replaced the capacitor with a $10 part. Hopefully, it keeps working. The only complaint about is I pay a bunch every month and every time I fix anything, it’s a hundred extra dollars. One would think what I pay monthly would cover small stuff anyway. But I like keeping American Home Shield as insurance in case something major goes wrong.

They fixed the refrigerator but it went out again. They came back out and they found some big cracks in the back of the refrigerator. It's cracked all the way from one side to the other.     I’ve had American Home Shield for four months when the microwave on my microwave/oven combination stopped working. I just ignored it because you had to buy the whole unit, top and bottom. I had previously replaced the heating element of the oven myself so I figured that nothing else was going to go wrong. I would just put up with not having a microwave for a while when, without the microwave, we could still survive. However, the controls are on the same electrical pad. So eventually, the controls went out and I couldn't do anything. At the same time, the washing machine started leaking. It wouldn't throw out the water.

    I called American Home Shield and because they’re both utility things in the kitchen, I could call one time and pay $100. They sent someone and the guy probably fixed the washing machine. But the oven/microwave had to be totally replaced. I paid AHS $55 a month but it's 59 now. It's gone up a little. But for that one visit of $100, I got a new microwave and oven combination. And I thought the washing machine was fixed. However, it started leaking so, the guy came back and he said he thought he fixed it. But it was an old washing machine that had a steel drum and he said it’s not even being made anymore.

    I got them all replaced, which sold me on AHS so much. But since then, they've done other things. They've replaced what they call the motherboard to my air conditioning. It wouldn't turn on and the tech said there were some electrical problems. He made sure that the switches in the breakers were all right. He said it was an electrical problem in the motherboard and he could replace it. But it's an old unit so it might take a long time to get it. He had a few in his van and he looked at what he got. He came back and said he had one that would work, and he put it in.

    All the techs have been very nice. We had some trouble with the refrigerator. It wasn't keeping the freezer cold. That was about last Christmas and since then, they've come three different times for the same refrigerator. It seemed to take them a long time to figure out exactly what wasn't working. They'd get it working and then it would stop again. They fixed it and when I called within a month, they didn't charge me $100 again. I've only been charged twice because one time was further away in time. American Home Shield was there when I needed them. They came fairly quickly and always sent people that were responsible. I would highly recommend them.

    SWAT Plumbing came out for the hot water tank. The heat temperature would go really high and was out of control. All they had to do was replace a couple of these two small parts on the side of the hot water tank and they fixed it. Everything was perfect. They were great, very intelligent and on time.     The fan on the unit outside went out. The techs came out and replaced the fan. However, clipped-off pieces of the wire were left laying in my yard. I got a survey back from American Home Shield, "How was the service with the contractor?" I said, "It was sorry and this is why." The next time I call about air conditioning, I got the same contract. AHS is not worth the money. It'd be also nice if they had a customer service number where you can actually get someone on the phone that could speak intelligently about your claims. It's a miserable setup to get ahold of anyone at almost any business to get someone to discuss your issues.

    We had an outlet that was not functioning. I did that one online with American Home Shield and the website was functioning so it was fine. They sent an email and sent a text about who was coming.     AHS is good as far as following up. The website is good, too. When you got a problem, you just put it in there and they'll get back to you with the vendor that would be coming out to see you. The handle of the oven busted. I put in the claim for a new handle and that was good. They let me know what was going on. The guy came out here and was very friendly, and he put it on and it was perfect. However, my air conditioner was making noise. They wouldn't repair the noise because it was working, and I didn't like that. There's nothing I can do about it with them.

    The AC wasn’t cooling and it was freezing from the outside. The gentleman from AAA All Brands Appliances called and asked what the problem was. He was very concerned because he said he could come right away but I wasn’t home. He said he was gonna call me back and redo his schedule so he could come when I was available. Sure enough, he said he could come such and such time, and he did. He had a lot of compassion about what was going on for me and whatever I asked him to do, he did it. So, I was thankful for that. All I needed was Freon and I was all done. He was good.

    I have had three problems so far. One was my water heater went and two times with my air conditioner. American Home Shield had to change one. The first time with the air, the tech had to change something on the outside and then he said I would be cool enough in a minute. And sure enough, I was. Then, AHS called and asked how everything was. They made sure everything was going good. So, I like that too. I would recommend people to get on AHS’ plan ASAP.

    The faucet in my bathroom was clogged up and I couldn't work it. I couldn't make the shower work. I had tried to disconnect it but it was all stuck. When a tech came in, I didn't think he would be able to do it right away but he did. He changed it out and it’s perfect. This claim was handled wonderfully.     Our dishwasher was broken and we had one person come out and. The repair person didn't do anything and didn't even look at it. Just said it's wear and tear. Didn't even fix the little arm that was broken. I called American Home Shield, they said, "We're gonna get someone else out there," give us a second opinion. They sent someone, the arm was reordered and it was reinstalled. They followed up with me to make sure that I was happy with what happened and how they fixed it. And it went great. I love American Home Shield. I recommended them to my mom and to my sister. So, my family actually has policies with all of them.

    Peace of mind of when repairs are needed and AHS is very honest about what's on the policies. My policy entails my swimming pool and pumps. They were very clear about that. My mom doesn't have a pool. So, they priced out what she does have. They're very informative, very open, they talk about the network of people they have that helps fix repairs. So, my mom had her fridge go out, the contractor came out, they saw that it couldn't be repaired -- it was a bad pump -- and they didn't give a hassle to get it replaced.     I have a continuous claim for my air conditioning unit. It never got fixed every time the service people came out. One service man put the fan in backwards. When the other guy came because it still wasn't working, he notified me that it was put backwards. The air conditioning unit never got fixed and they're trying to say it was due to the weather. The weather doesn't put the air conditioner fan backwards. I was told the unit had to be replaced but American Home Shield refused to replace it. They said it was due to damage. My experience with American Home Shield has been very poor and I'm not satisfied at all. If they do a project, they should finish it.

    American Home Shield was a good deal with what they cover. So far, we've had good luck with it. I've had them on another house then I decided to get them on my new home. My wife then added her three properties. Even though you pay the monthly fee and the $75, sometimes it's paid off. It's been an advantage to some degree. A couple of the contractors lately screwed up. But the jobs are getting done. It just takes some time and frustration with a couple of them.

    I do claims online and the website works well. I had a credit card loaded one time then all of a sudden, it didn't recognize it. But I realized it was my mistake. Other than that, it's pretty easy. You can get a claim in there in less than five minutes. I first get the thing from American Home Shield then I will get either a text or an email from a contractor notifying me to call them to schedule. One contractor came out and they replaced two faucets. Their guy ordered them and when those arrived, he came back out and installed them. It took two trips.

    I'm not too fond of American Home Shield’s service. I called to have my central air conditioner looked at because it wasn't working and when the people came out, they said a part was bad. Then, they had to put the refrigerant in it. The warranty only covered $10 of refrigerant and it cost me $475. I will be canceling it because it was absolutely ridiculous that they only paid $10 of refrigerant.

Then here in Florida, they changed capacitors in the air conditioner almost every summer. The young lady that came out was efficient and wonderful. She was detailed in her work. She was also funny. She came with her own can of bug spray because she knew she had to get in the attic. It was just the funniest thing. She was doing the best she could do. If I could get her all the time to come do something around my house, I would love it.

    The representative was wonderful, and the visit went great. I needed to get my oven and dishwasher replaced. They're so old that they can't repair it so they recommended replacement. American Home Shield is waiting on us to select a dishwasher. On the other hand, we've been waiting for someone to come and look at our air conditioner since May 18th. The technician was scheduled to come out, and he said that he was having car trouble. Nobody has come out at all, and it's been 108 degrees and I have an infant. American Home Shield said that they're working on getting somebody to come out and they've left the place messages, but they are refusing to reassign it to a different company. I would never recommend this even to my worst enemy.

    I've been with AHS since 2019 and one of the things I really like is I don't have to figure out who to call. They call the appropriate people and I've had very good luck with the contractors that have come. The garbage disposal was leaking and the tech from Plumb Genius knew what to do. He said I need a new disposal and he had multiple replacements in his vehicle, which I thought was amazing. He was an awesome and very nice young man. It was so fast.     In the earlier years, American Home Shield's customer service was terrible. We had one time a few years ago where we had to be reimbursed and it was quite a bit of money. It took months to get a response and they hung up on me. They put me on hold for an hour. But this last year or so has been great. The vendors that have been sent have been professional, timely, and knowledgeable. American Home Shield has also been working really quickly on their responses. I've been doing all my requests online and that has worked really well. American Home Shield also improved on their communication such as follow-up emails. It's great that they have heard the feedback that there are so many dissatisfied customers. We're seeing a lot of effort being made to improve that and that says a lot.

    We had a contractor that was fantastic and I cannot recommend them enough. Even if we have to have repairs that wouldn't be under warranty, I would call them. They're thorough and professional. They explained everything and were neat. You couldn't tell they were here. They gave good suggestions on how to maintain the unit. Overall, we couldn't be happier.     My sister had this big air conditioning problem. She told us that she had American Home Shield and she walked us through the process of calling them and explaining what happened. Techs came out and were able to take care of what would have been a very expensive fix for her for whatever her monthly had been and the deductible for the repair.

    On a whim, I signed up with American Home Shield and it was very reasonably priced. I did it because of my sister. When I explained the value of the home warranty to my husband, he said, “That’s one on my side of the list. Just go and get it if it's inexpensive.” Thank God I signed up because they fixed our oven. When we did the oven, it might have been a $1,500 fix because it was a software issue. My husband said, “It’s worth its weight in gold."

    They had fixed the air conditioning unit three times too. The techs were fantastic. They were on time and they identified the problem in minutes. All of the air conditioning units in this house are the big brand Carrier. It seems that that is a very popular unit. This summer alone, it's been so hot and two of the units stopped working. The issue was the same part both times. The techs weren’t even here 30 minutes before both units were repaired. My mom's a senior and she lives with me. I have a dog too. My husband and I could deal with AC situation, but the dog and my mother cannot.

    It's so convenient to have American Home Shield and let someone else worry about things. They send the right technician. I like technology with this company. I go online and open my request. I'm assigned to someone in seconds. By the next day, someone's calling me to schedule the appointment then I get those text messages about when they're on the way and who's coming.     The service of AHS has been good. My only complaint was that we scheduled an air conditioner tune-up and evaluation. While the vendor was here doing that, they identified an additional problem with the system that wasn't covered under the tune-up. When I went to schedule the next ticket to take care of that, American Home Shield didn't have the same vendor contracted for that type of service. A completely new vendor has to come out and redo the evaluation and perform the service that way.

    It'll be fine, 'cause it'll work out and there's really no cost difference to me. But it's annoying because while they were here, they took full documentation of what was wrong and what the part numbers were. They were ready to perform the service. They just didn't have authorization. Now, someone else has to go through that whole process again. If AHS is going to offer a service for tuning up air conditioners, offer it through a vendor that you have a contract for them to also repair them. But everything else has been great with AHS.

    I never, ever do this, but I have had such a bad experience, I feel the need to. I had my water heater go out so I contacted AHS to service it. The unit was old and the part that went bad was no longer made, so the unit had to be replaced. The contractor hired came quickly and that's where the good experiences ended...

    Over the next four or five days, I was calling between the contractor and AHS, each one pointing the finger at the other as to why there had been zero progression. The only thing American Home Shield was willing to do was to take an authorization from me to cover $150 in uncovered expenses and to offer me a cash-out option so that I could handle the replacement myself! I repeatedly asked what unit would be replacing mine and they would not give me that information.

    Finally, two weeks to the day that I requested service, the water heater was ordered and a service date set for three days later. I received a call from the contractor at 9:30 that morning stating the unit had not arrived and so they would not be able to go forward with the install. I had taken a day off of work. They stated it would be in the next day, so I took yet another day off of work to be there. The next day came and around 9 am, the contractor called again stating that the wrong water heater had been ordered and blamed AHS for the issue. Remember that I had repeatedly asked what unit would be replacing mine.

    Contacting AHS several times that day, they stated that indeed the wrong unit had been ordered and blamed the contractor. They stated that another had been ordered the previous day and that it would be there the same day. When I questioned how that was possible when they just discovered it was the wrong unit 15 minutes prior, they changed their answer and said that it was in process of being ordered. When I pressed further for information, I was told that it had been ordered during our conversation. When I attempted to clarify that, they again told me that they were still reviewing the information and that the unit had NOT been ordered.

    At this point, I was clearly upset and asked to speak to a supervisor from within AHS. I was told to hold and they would see if one was available. After waiting 15 minutes, I was hung up on. Contacting AHS back, I was told that they were not able/allowed to transfer me to a supervisor, but that one would call me back within 48 hours!!! The next day, the supervisor called me back. Keep in mind that this is a call center that AHS outsources from the Philippines. I asked why an AHS employee had not called and they told me that there was no one within AHS who could call because they did not have managers!?!?

    The supervisor spent the next 20 minutes pandering to me while half-listening to my story. He wanted to take no responsibility for their actions or bad information they had given me. He could provide no information as to where we were in the process, when it might be approved, and stated they could not call me once the water heater had actually been ordered. At this point it has been three weeks and no idea when the water heater will be ordered, arrive, or be replaced. When you outsource customer service, it is no longer customer service, it is information services because they have no authority and no skin in the game. Just an awful experience.

    The water was backing up in the dishwasher. But the person that took my claim wrote it wrong. When I called American Home Shield, my initial call to them was a leaky faucet in the kitchen and water backing up in the dishwasher. But I was told that on the ticket, the guy put down about a dishwasher and garbage disposal. So I called the day before yesterday and I spoke to a young lady and she was telling me that it was not in the system for a faucet and that they never received the findings from Metropolitan Plumbing. So she told me to call Metropolitan Plumbing and have them to submit their findings.

    Metropolitan did submit that they did call. I talked to the guy that came out. He submitted his findings to American Home Shield. He told American Home Shield told him that it was not covered under my insurance. I had a problem back with American Home Shield but I never received a call. There's never a supervisor or anyone that can talk to you. You take what they give you and that’s it. You can’t go further than that. But the contractors were fine and very professional.

    The hot water heater went out and Stewart Plumbing came out and replaced it. They located the hot water heater that matched up and told us that we needed a new pan underneath the hot water heater. They brought a new pan and put it under it. We paid extra for that but they installed everything and had it all done in less than a week. A friend asked yesterday about American Home Shield and we told them it's a great deal. You're paying for your repairs on a monthly basis instead of all at once. And it's a great thing. The only downside is sometimes they're a little slow getting everything done. They did the hot water heater in a week. We've had other appliances go out and by the time they do their troubleshooting, get back with AHS, and they get back and tell the contractor what they want done, it takes too long sometimes. We had an air conditioning go out last summer and it was two weeks before they got it going. But they did get it going.

    The biggest benefit of having a home warranty is knowing that if something breaks down, we can get it fixed. That gives me peace of mind. We just have to pay the deductible and maybe something extra for something that's not covered. They have relatively good customer service and they usually take care of my needs quickly. American Home Shield has reliable people and they pretty much come on time.

    We used the home warranty when our unit was turning on but it was blowing hot air. A tech came out on a Friday. They couldn't get the part that he needed but he somehow found a part. The tech was excellent and he went above and beyond. He initially said he would probably be back the following week but he knew my husband and I are older people. He figured, “Let me see what I can do.” He went somewhere, got the correct part, and he installed it on a Saturday morning. That took him maybe an hour. We were cool from then on. I was extremely pleased.

The first service person came out and my husband told them not to park on the driveway because my granddaughter was outside. The guy left and said, “Okay. No, I’m not gonna service you guys.” So then, AHS rescheduled somebody else the same day. I called that person right away and they came out two days later. I’ve been happy with them. They’re amazing.     I've had some services recently and AHS has been very good with me. The drainage was full of water and it got into my ceiling. I had to replace my whole ceiling and my floors 'cause the AC was leaking. The AC guys that they sent took the water out and unclogged the pipes. Recently, they came and did a checkup because I thought my AC was not working. They told me that I needed to change my filters. They also taught me how to be a homeowner.     The compressor went out on the air conditioning unit. American Home Shield would not give me the money to buy it upfront. I had to buy it, then they will reimburse me. But they will not reimburse me the whole amount. They just reimburse me what they want to reimburse me. If I was to let Express fix it, it was $2,600 out of my pocket. I didn't know that I was gonna have to pay for the people to vacuum down the freon and it was $300 a pound. What is the sense of me having a warranty if I gotta pay $2,600 out of my pocket for the company that they sent out to fix it? After this situation, I don't know if I'm gonna continue. I have some bad experiences with them. I also had a claim on my refrigerator that took about five months.

    5/23/22 5/23/21 6/2020. I summitted a claim because my AC wasn't working properly. After each request the contractors assured me it was fixed. Since June of 2020 I've been paying American Home Shield Contractors for Freon to refill my AC unit only for it to leak out within 12 months. I've asked AHS reps could they send a contractor out after the job is finish to check the Freon levels to make sure it's not leaking. They told me no it has to be broken. Over the last 2 years alone I've spent over 1k in Freon for a leak that was never repaired. AHS has offer me no compensation for their contractors failing to fix the problem. Not even the $10 off per pound offered by the company because it's over 200$. I made this same request 2020 and 2021 and and the total was over 200$ both times now all of a sudden it's changed. They only guarantee the repairs for 3 months which it takes over 3 months for the Freon to leak out.

    I have a 7 pound tank. I requested that only 3 pounds be put in because of this reoccurring issue. The AHS rep that I talked to 6/9/22 said no, then told me I had to pay for the service before the contactor comes out to complete the service. This is robbery!!! No one should have to pay for Freon every year with absolutely no solution to the problem other than to repay to get it fix. I currently have a request open for the same issue #**. I asked the AHS rep to give me a breakdown of the bill and how much it cost for the Freon they told me it's 80$ a pound without the 10$ discount which would bring make the cost of the Freon $560.00 but they are charging me $704.00. I'm confused as to why I'm being charged 100$ a pound. (I paid for Freon for the last 2 years!!!) Not mention I've taken off of work only for their contractor to be a no call no show.

    The first time Crispy Air came, the techs did something and the air conditioner ran for a couple days. I told them that the motor was going out but they didn't change it. So, a couple of days later, the air broke down and we were without air for a week with a one-year-old, a three-year-old, and a seven-year-old. And my mom's an elder. We tried to explain to Crispy Air when we called and told them to please send somebody back out here. They said it was a Friday and a holiday weekend. They couldn’t come out and could be out Tuesday.

    The second technician came out and he was a genius. He came with the motor and changed it, and the air runs like a champ. We're very pleased now. He was awesome. I have no problem with American Home Shield. It’s just I had a bad experience with the technician from Crispy Air the first time. But I've already referred people. AHS is worth it.

    I had a concern with my A/C unit and decided to utilize my home warranty rather than contact my regular A/C company. I waited a week for an appointment with their vendor, Air Doctor A/C & Heating, despite having my own preferred company. The technician didn't really seem bothered by my concerns, but did let me know I needed insulation and the system was overcharged, so he needed to take refrigerant off the system. While this sounded strange to me as my A/C had its 6-month check less than 3 months prior, I agreed. A huge mistake.

    Do not trust the technicians at Air Doctor A/C & Heating. Within an hour of the technician leaving, I noticed my A/C was actually in worse shape. I contacted American Home Shield to let them know of the mistake of their vendor and also set up an appointment with my trusted company the following day. I asked for a refund of the service fee for the error and they refused because of their policies and procedures, so I asked them to send out another vendor to correct the mistake. They couldn't guarantee another vendor prior to my scheduled appointment and it could have taken days for them to satisfy their policies and procedures to get a second opinion.

    Meanwhile, my family and pets were in an extremely uncomfortable and somewhat unsafe home due to the heat in Florida because of their mistake. I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked to have my vendor approved since they couldn't correct the mistake in a timely fashion. They again refused because of their policies and procedures. My trusted provider fixed the damage done and I paid out of pocket. When I called to ask again if they would do anything to rectify their mistake, they still had no response. I opted to cancel my contract and the supposedly non-refundable service fee was immediately offered to try to retain me as a customer.

    At this point, I would never do business with a company that treats customers in such an atrocious manner, so it was too little too late. But apparently, policies and procedures go out the window when it suits them, but not when it is in the best interests of their customers when they make a mistake. I will likely have to go through arbitration if I would like to be reimbursed for their mistake. Try to avoid this warranty company at all costs if you have any other options.

    Sewage was coming up. The contractor came out and looked at it. It ended up being an outdoor drain. We ended up having to use MSD to come out and fix it. Which luckily, I called them as well for the outdoor claim part of it, and they fixed it. American Home Shield is very useful. And so far, it has worked for us. They have great customer service. We have told everybody about them. Everybody should have it, especially with the older home with older appliances. It really is a benefit to have. I'd rather pay monthly for something than pay for a bunch of stuff to go wrong all at once. You cannot have too much insurance.

    American Home Shield is easy to work with. They haven’t turned down a claim yet. Filing a claim is super easy. You can call in or you can log into it online. It's a couple of clicks online and the calling thing is all automated too. I could say, “My AC is broken,” and then they send me a text message about 10 minutes later saying they got it scheduled. The technicians generally do good work. American Home Shield sent out a bad technician. But that has been resolved. They sent out a better one and fixed the problem. I'm extremely happy with American Home Shield.

    Sometimes, when I gotta get to a representative, I wish they would have a little bit more patience and understanding that we're frustrated because something broke at our house. I had this lady lately with the issue with the Knock Out pools. I turned the water off to the pump that was leaking, which seemed like the right thing to do. She was talking down to me and acting like I was stupid for doing that. But everybody else I've dealt with at Knock Out Pools has been outstanding. So I called back American Home Shield and said, “Hey, can you send somebody else out, you know, a different company, if this is how they're going to be?” But whoever I was talking to at American Home Shield said, “No, we can't.” It rubbed me the wrong way.

    The drain pipe was clogged. It was moved so it was pointing upwards and it didn't drain. The outer unit was getting shut off because of that. That was happening for about two days.     The upstairs air conditioning hasn't worked since we got in there. One guy showed up but he didn't have an extension ladder to get on the roof. He said he would send someone else out. I told someone twice to bring a ladder. Somebody finally brought a ladder. They got up there and what they saw was something only an electrician can take care of. The electrician came out. I spoke to somebody on the phone before they sent him out and I told them to make sure he brings a ladder. That didn't happen. He fixed a couple of things around the house, but he didn't get up and fix the most important issue. I haven't heard back from anybody since.

    I used American Home Shield for the replacement of a hot water heater. I still had to pay some out of pocket, but it was nice to have. I called and made the claim. But every time I'm calling in a claim, I get people who don't understand English. So you're calling, getting feedback and you can understand me fine, but I have a hard time making the claim every time. I had to speak to five people. I said my water heater was pouring water out of the side of the water heater and I have a bucket catching it. The rep could never understand what the water heater was. It was very frustrating. Then they finally got a manager on who could understand me a little bit better and got a plumber out there.

    When the plumber came, he was great. He was a nice guy. But it was a company out of Mobile, and I live in Louisiana. So that was weird for me. The water heater had to be changed out and it had to be brought up to code. So I had to pay that portion of it because American Home Shield refused to pay that, which I get it. As a homeowner, that's my responsibility. But it was really hard to make a claim with American Home Shield. But the technicians that they send out are pretty great people for the most part.

    They're responsive and they communicate well. Their customer support is good. Sometimes, the process takes a week. But sometimes, they just gotta wait for parts. I did a claim for the dryer and the technician that came out was good. He tried to repair it three times. He got parts three times and tore it apart but it just would not work. It was one of those things that weren't repairable. So I bought a new dryer and American Home Shield is supposed to refund it. I’ve turned in my receipt and the refund is supposed to be in progress.

    I wasn't able to be home when the contractor came for the AC. But my wife was home and there was a miscommunication with the contractor. My wife called me. So I explained to the tech. He said that I needed something replaced. So they were gonna go through American Home Shield to approve it. When I got home, my downstairs AC wasn't working and it was the AC upstairs that the person was supposed to be there for. I called the contractor and spoke to the customer service person. They connected me with the tech that came out. He said he didn't touch the downstairs. He said it was just coincidence. But what he did was turn off my downstairs unit while he was working and forgot to turn it back on. I figured that out by myself.

    American Home Shield approved the compressor and all I had to pay for was the refrigerant. I made sure I was home when the people came out. The lead came in and apologized for the previous service. But I didn't need a compressor. I just needed the coils cleaned. They did that and everything was working. I double checked and I thanked them for their honesty and apologizing for the previous tech. So ultimately, my experience turned out good because I didn't have to pay extra. Overall, it's been an easy experience to go online and request service from American Home Shield. The contractors call you right away to schedule service.

    American Home Shield has been horrible. When I had a claim dealing with electrical work, the contractor didn't want to do the work. They told American Home Shield it was some type of wear and tear issue so they got out of doing the work, but they could bill for that 100 service fee. I also had someone come out to deal with a built-in microwave. It took them three months to get that resolved.

    In the last situation that we filed an incident for the AC unit, we had two contractors come out. The first was an AC rep indicated that there was not enough electrical current going to the unit and that was causing the issue. He recommended that an electrician get involved. Then American Home Shield sent out an electrician. That person indicated that in order for them to do the work as far as replacing the breaker box to the unit, we would have to pay some additional money out of pocket to remove paneling from the house so they can gain access to it. Long story short, we ended up paying out of pocket for another HVAC professional to come out and look at it for a second opinion. The whole issue was resolved by them just resetting the breaker box.

    The two contractors through American Home Shield misdiagnosed the issue. Luckily, we did not have someone do the necessary work that the last technician suggested because that would have been more out of pocket and it would have been unnecessary. We're very dissatisfied with the experience with American Home Shield.

    The service guy that fixed my washing machine and dryer was fine. The issue I'm having now is that I'm still waiting on them to send someone to fix my refrigerator. And my food is messing up in my refrigerator. I've called them a couple of times and they still say that it's pending 'cause they don't have anybody to send out.

    The first guy who came to fix my stuff let them know that he was not supposed to fix that and they were supposed to send someone else out to complete it.     The air conditioner was no longer cooling. I called American Home Shield's number and talked with their automated system. The contractor diagnosed the problem and told us what needed to be done. Then they replaced the parts that were broken. It turned out good. But when I had an issue with the dryer, I was told it was not included in my policy. I reviewed my policy after I was told that and confirmed what I was told. I was surprised because I thought all appliances were covered, but that one was not. So that was disappointing.

    I had an air conditioning unit that was not functioning. Techs came out and they told me that since it has an old type of Freon in it, it needed to be replaced. They also told me that it's not repairable. American Home Shield advertised that if something's broken, they'll replace it. But that is not true. Looking at my contract, it says that they'll pay up to $1,500 for a new air conditioning unit. The out-of-pocket is $3,000. I called the contractor and what they're covering is about $673 in my lifetime. They were telling me that the air conditioning unit that they're going to purchase for me is $583. I don't understand how it can possibly cost $3,000 to install a $586 air conditioning. Where in the world you could possibly purchase such a thing? They really couldn't give me a breakdown of the out-of-pocket.

    If I'm out 3,000, they should be out the first 1,500. And the contractor, Jar Electric, tried to upsell me a new system. They also said by replacing the air conditioning unit, I would need a new furnace and there was no warranty on the new furnace. The rep couldn't tell me what type of furnace I was paying $3,000 for. I decided to take the cash option. Once I get that, I will cancel with American Home Shield and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

    American Home Shield replaced our washing machine. But I wasn't satisfied with the people who were supposed to change out the washing machine. They were not able to accomplish that. We've got a busted washer upstairs on the second floor and a brand-new washer in the garage They did not remove the one that was broken because they were afraid to disconnect the connection to the water supply. As a result, American Home Shield contacted McAtee and McAtee sent somebody out that took care of that problem. The tech took the old water hoses off and connected new ones. McAtee was really good. We couldn't get anybody to take the old washing machine out and put the new washing machine in. I had to contact someone who's supposed to be coming tomorrow to hook it up but it's going to be at my own expense and it's going to cost me $200.

    One of the problems I have with American Home Shield is they outsource all their operators and I can't understand a word any of them are saying. The last woman I was speaking to was from Guyana. After a while, communication just breaks down completely. American Home Shield dropped the ball. As soon as I get this washing machine installed properly, I'm going to look for another warranty company because this was a total disaster. I wasn't able to communicate with anybody to straighten it out. Going by this last experience, I'm very dissatisfied.

    Our air conditioner keeps flipping the breaker. It's not operating. Frog Pro came two days after I put in the request. The guy was there for less than five minutes. He didn’t touch it. He asked me to flip the breaker and try turning it on, and it flipped back. He said, “Yeah, it flipped the breaker. You probably need a new compressor or need to replace. I’ll have the office get back to you.” But I never heard from them again.

    I’ve tried calling them multiple times, every day. One time, I got ahold of them about a week after that. They went ahead and they gave me quotes, 900 and something dollars to replace the compressor and $3,200 to just replace the whole air conditioner. I was confused about those amounts, because they were a bit higher than we expected. I called AHS and they said they've never heard of those numbers. They've never even heard of the repair. They kept telling us on the phone that they don't know, that they'll keep putting in a request for Frog Pro to ask them to submit their quote. They said, “You can also try calling Frog Pro.” My wife tried calling them five times today and she got hung up on all five times. At this point, we’ve gone two weeks without air conditioning.

    The latest guy that came out was for my AC. I have a split unit AC and he didn’t know anything about split units though. I guess it was my fault because I didn't say split unit. He just cleaned out the line because it was leaking in the house, and it was because it was clogged. Also, I was pissed off because the guy couldn't get here on time.     The dishwasher would start then the cycle wouldn't continue because the auto light would flash. We did one of those video chats with the contractor, 1st Choice, and they are able to see and they took some pictures. The technician who came by was top-tier and he did a really good job.     American Home Shield is vanilla when it comes to this kind of stuff. Their service portal window works fine. I fill out a ticket online and they contact the repair service., who comes out and fixes it. AHS is for larger appliances in the house, like the air conditioning. Just peace of mind. They're doing their jobs. The only concern I had is when I went to cancel the policy for my Austin house. AHS gave me some grief about not returning the yearly amount I had paid them. That was poison being as I was going to pick up a warranty here. It used to be 800 for a year. I used five months of that and asked them to give me my money back for the rest but they wouldn't. But ever since, I've gone to month to month billing, so that's not a concern.

    The amazing thing is when I put in a service request, it was super fast. The contractor was there that day. I was stunned by how cool that was. The first time was simple. I just go on there and click “request service.” And there's a little drop-down list of which items I might need, and what's going on, just a couple of words, or a sentence or two and boom, send it. And when I had to contact American Home Shield because it was still acting up, I used their chat service. There was a chat person there that walked me through the steps and, “No, we're gonna send out another person to check it out and make a recommendation on what needs to be done.”

    The AC unit was working, but not very well. So, the contractor came out and cleaned up the outside unit, and checked things out. And they've had to come out a second time because it was working great but it stopped again. Now they detected that there's something more serious going on with the system. There's a little valve that shuts off, so that it stops cooling. It goes into heating mode, which isn't good for summer. Now, they're going to actually fix that. I'm still waiting to hear from that because according to the technician that was here, this is going to require them to have a special trailer. They have to pump out all the Freon. It's almost like tearing down a part of the unit and rebuilding it. But having AHS is peace of mind because knowing that if something does happen to an appliance, air conditioning or the heat, that you have help that there if you need it.

    American Home Shield has been helpful. I currently have a claim going on right now. The sink was leaking from both sides. The guy who came fixed one side, and then he couldn’t find the leak on the other side. It was leaking later that night when I was cooking dinner. So, they’re supposed to come back today. They gave me a window between 12:00 and 5:00.

    We've used American Home Shield a lot. It's a lot of peace of mind having the warranty. All the stuff that's happened to us since we've moved in has been a lot and without the home warranty, I don't know how much money we would have spent. One of our first claims was for the refrigerator that was leaking, and a guy came out about three times. Then they sent a different guy who completely fixed it right away on the first try. We also had a claim for the furnace. It took a really long time for it to get put in. We ordered it in August, and it didn’t get put in until the end of November. We have a small baby, and it was really cold for the baby. Besides that, it's been great. It’s been a lifesaver to have the warranty.

    I had a recent claim to American Home Shield where they sent Brick Street Plumbing. There were a few hiccups but in the end, it went well. They fixed a garbage disposal problem. It was not functioning properly and they replaced it. What I don't like about AHS is it takes time to assign the contractor for which you have to call but the overall experience was good. I need to follow up with the contractor a couple of times to set up the appointment, but after about three days, I was able to get hold of him. American Home Shield is way better than Choice. I had a year with Choice. AHS always tries to diagnose the problem first and try to fix the things instead of giving any wrong commitment to the customer. I had two occurrences where the techs fixed my issues in a single visit. So, that's the good thing about them.

    I had some work done on my AC unit. It was throwing out lukewarm air. American Home Shield's rep was informative. She took the information and was thorough. AHS gave me the contractor's name. I googled them. I had to look up their reviews to make sure the reviews were okay. Because here lately, AHS has been giving bottom-of-the-line vendors, which I'm not happy with.

    The people that came out were very knowledgeable. The guy was funny. He went far and beyond and he fixed it. He came to our home a little late, but it's only because he got hung up at another place working on somebody else's unit. But he was determined and he came out and got it done. I have nothing against that. It was dark, but he put on a hat that had a light on it and he still succeeded. So, he did a very good job.

    But AHS needs to have better vendors. They need to wean out the vendors that are crappy, with a low score, especially like D&J Appliances with a review of 1.2 and they still keep them there. And I'm paying them money every month to get bottomline feeders. I'm not happy with that. That was the reason why I started doing it. Because after D&J Appliances, I knew I would not allow them to send me crappy vendors. And I had to go to the point where I had to express to them that I didn't feel comfortable with this particular vendor in my home. AHS collects money from me on a regular monthly basis but they give me bottom-feeder vendors. That does not sit well with me.

    My most recent experience was for a leak in the dishwasher that North MS Appliance Repair came out for and it worked real well. The guy was very competent in what he did, made a decision quickly, and got back when he had what he needed. We had to buy a part that AHS did not cover, which was the insulation that had turned moldy. But over 30 years with AHS and the one big problem is a problem every time. If they require us to get a contractor because they cannot find one, they never pay the claims. They always find an excuse, even though we go back and show them where we got authorization.

    The last time this happened was with a claim for the ceiling fan. They could not find a contractor to repair it, we found one, and we were getting authorization for him to repair it. The authorization department did not answer their phone even though he called them several times. We gave him the number for the general call to set up the appointments. They gave him the authorization to go ahead and do it. But once he had finished and filed the proper forms, they denied it because we talked to the wrong department that gave him authorization. We went on with it for five months. Never accept their authorization for you to find a contractor.

    We love American Home Shield. They have done everything we needed them to do. My refrigerator and dishwasher got fixed, and my stove got replaced. They also covered the cost of my roof leaks so that I could get my roof replaced. Our last home warranty company always picked contractors that had F ratings on the Better Business Bureau but the contractors American Home Shield has sent out have been fabulous. My roofing guy was phenomenal. They replaced our whole roof in six hours and it's not a little house. They did a pristine job.

    The video analysis that you can do where you can video the problem you're having so that it can be sent to the contractor and they can look at it is the best feature ever. A lot of times, I'd get a contractor who'd say, "We have to come out and take a look.” I would tell them, “I’m telling you exactly what’s wrong with it. Here’s the part number that you need.” But they would still say, "We still have to come out and take a look,” then say, “It’s gonna take us a week to get the parts.” With the video thing, I can say, “Here's the part. Here's the part number. Here's what's wrong,” and they just order it. When they show up, it’s fixed.

    I had used American Home Shield in the past when we moved to the new house. We were looking for a warranty for the whole house and got a call. It seemed like a good offer from another organization. But after two years with them, we were not satisfied with anything. They didn't cover anything in the house. So, we went looking again and decided that the experience with AHS was very good and we liked what happened there. So, we went back and joined again.

    We had multiple things that were happening. Series of outlets that were no longer working. We had the doorbell that had stopped working. The stove started giving us strange error messages and we wanted somebody to track that down. And he was very good. The breaker was stuck and he was able to get it to move back into the right position. He was very thorough and talked to us very well about what was happening and what might be going on. So, we were pleased with that. We're still having trouble with the stove. We know what it is now. They were able to get the error messages it was showing interpreted. So, we need to call back and make another appointment request to AHS.

    Everything has been good so far. We're looking at some plumbing things we know that are coming up, we want to get on. The only thing I don't like about the AHS service or any other warranty services is you cannot make recommendations to them who's a good plumber or electrician or anything if you had prior experience. So far, that has worked out well for us in other places. But we've used one of the plumbing services that we would like to be working with again when we had to go outside the AHS to do that, to get someone we know who's a reliable service provider.

    We've been in this house for three years now, but it was 26 years old. We knew that it's a lot of all the original appliances. So, we were concerned that if something big came up, that's a hard hit. And we knew finding somebody was so confusing. If you don't have people that have used other companies that can tell you what they think about companies, it's very difficult to weed out which ones are decent coming out, being on time, good estimates, things like that. It's a matter of covering anything that might go wrong.

    I have a Samsung convection oven and when I tried to start the upper level only, the temperature would climb but it would give an error code. It would never get passed 200-something. A guy came out and looked at it. He was professional but he was having some family issues, so I was trying to be wary of that. He said that if the issue was the heating element, the oven would not heat at all. I told him, "I've tried it more than 10 times and I disagree with you." He checked it again and the next time he came out, he said, "Can you go ahead and start? Turn the oven on so it's already preheated when I get there so we can play with it from there instead of waiting." It turned out to be the heating element and I ended up getting a new one. The only weird thing was the tech never gave me a receipt as everybody else does. Other than that, everything is fine.

    American Home Shield has a really nice feature with their premium package. They sent an email about the AC check before the season started. The guy that came found the air handler that was supposed to give out 10 BTUs or what the AC measurement was, was only at five. It was starting to go out so I got a new one. We had to do a second call because the first call was the free check. My deductible was a $1,500 part.

    It's easy to use the portal. I just do it online, and American Home Shield has been pretty prompt. I've had a couple of repairs done, and the only time there was a delay was when they had to wait for a part. When our toilet was making noises, the plumber came and said he didn't see anything wrong with it. He said, “If you hear it again, come let me know. We'll just replace the pieces inside.” After he left, the issue kept happening more often. He came back and replaced all the pieces, and I haven't heard the noise since. He was very good.

    American Home Shield's deductible is a bit too much though. This toilet job couldn’t have been 100 bucks. The pieces were probably $25. I compared their deductible to other competitors' as well, and another company's overall rate for the renewal was a bit higher, but when one has an issue, it was 50 bucks instead of 100. I also didn't like that I had all my items under warranty, but since my fridge ended up being in the garage, American Home Shield wouldn't cover it when I had a problem with it. They said it was in the fine lines. Technically, the coverage book said dwelling, but it didn't say anything about garage. I had to get a separate warranty on that unit, so I could have that covered. That was not cool.

    I had two claims with AHS. One was for my central air unit that was blowing hot air. The other one was for our garbage disposal. The claims process went pretty smoothly. Both experiences with the techs had been very well. For the garbage disposal, it was too small. The tech had to go and get another one. He came back and replaced it. The other one told me that I may need a new heater for the central air unit ‘cause it's tied in together. He told me that in the future and even within a year, I may need a new one.     I can rely on American Home Shield to get things fixed that I can't fix. When I put a claim in for my attic fan, a contractor called me immediately after I got the claim in to make an appointment. They came out there that day. The guy worked in the rain and everything was done in an hour. He put it back at the right temperature for it to come on at 90 degrees. It hasn’t been 90 degrees for it to come on. He tested it. I also just got my AC unit repaired. American Home Shield gave me a new compressor and a new condenser. Although there was out-of-pocket cost, it wasn't as much as I thought it was going to be. I was happy about that.

    Their technicians are professional. Everybody comes with their logo trucks. They have their logos on their shirts. They're very knowledgeable about what’s wrong with the unit and give me feedback. They also call me and set up a schedule. However, on another claim with Comfort Pros, they don't make the initial calls. I had an appointment with them today and I called yesterday to make sure they are coming. But when they come out, they explain to me what's wrong and everything goes well. When they say they're coming, they're coming.

    I like that American Home Shield is responsive and I like the services that they offer. But when we have something that's a service, we don't consistently get the same type of quality on the service people. We had some AC work done and the guy from Grace Heat and Air came out and I knew something wasn't right. It wasn't cooling right and he tried to tell me to just change the filters more. I told him that didn't make sense. He said, "Well, 'cause you have dogs." I told him, "So, it's not getting colder in here because I have dogs. That doesn't make sense." He said, "Well, I put some Freon in it. It should be fine." Then he left and a week and a half later, it stopped working.

    We put in another request for the AC and American Home Shield told me, "Well, that person has to come back out and they have to see it." I told them, "We don't have air. It's going to be 90 degrees. I'm in Texas. That can't be okay." It was a Friday and the contractor couldn't be there till the next Thursday. Those people were obviously just taking the money. He was here less than 10 minutes when he came. Grace Heat and Air are the worst I've ever dealt with before in my life.

    The tech that came out for our spa was very communicative. We had a couple of issues, but he followed up each time and gave different suggestions of what was going on. Sometimes the contractor doesn't always know and I get it. It's trial and error. But he didn't just leave me hanging. Even though he wasn't 100% sure, he still followed back up and that makes a difference. We also had someone for the hot water heater. But he had COVID and he never called us back. I called three times and our water heater was leaking, and then American Home Shield finally reassigned it.

    The coverage for us has been pretty good. But the cost keeps creeping up a little bit. We have an older house, so American Home Shield really helps. I like that we're able to go online and make a call to set up someone to come out. It's not overly expensive for a call to come out. With our pool, it worked out well. We've had a few things on the garage door, and they were pretty responsive, and that's been a big deal. Sometimes, you don't really know who to call when something happens so American Home Shield helps because it guides us through, "Hey, okay, this is who will take care of you," which is great. But they could really work on the quality of service by the service people.

    I'm satisfied with what was accomplished from my call. One thing, though, was the contractor that was initially called for my account was located in Placerville, which is a significant distance from where I live. But what I liked about American Home Shield is that I called back and requested another company be provided because they could not satisfy the call for two weeks from the time I requested the service. It was an air conditioning claim and hot weather was coming, it was kind of important to get it addressed as soon as possible. To the company's credit, the gentleman who helped me found another vendor. I was very happy with that in a shorter period of time. AMHSI serviced my AC and the gentleman who came out was very professional. He was here on time and got the problem resolved in a very timely manner. I haven't had to request service on any of my appliances but I hope that I would get good service when I need that type of support.

    There was a clog in my dishwasher, so it wasn't draining. I called American Home Shield and asked them if they could send someone out. They told me what the company was over the phone. They set the appointment right there and then. Then I got a call a day later from them. They said who they are and what day they'd be coming. They were phenomenal. They did their job well.     The issue was a leak in our ceiling, in our actual laundry room. I called and put in the claim for someone to come out. That's how I normally do if I put in a claim for American Home Shield. It's always easy. They right away sent the email to me, let me know that they assigned it. The email came out within 10 minutes after the call telling me who would come out. The gentleman contacted us, just to confirm the appointment that they had. Very professional. And they told me that they would call me when they were 30 minutes within the scope, and they were here. The tech showed my husband that the grout is what is causing the leakage. Where the bathroom was, there are holes in the grout that caused the leakage. It's just normal wear and tear.

    With our recent claim with AHS, the sump pump wasn't pumping the water out. It had burned out and wasn't working. The Clog Father was assigned and the techs had to completely replace it. The only thing, I had a five-gallon bucket and they took it with them when they took the sump pump. But other than that, everything was fine. I had an issue with the sump pump a week later. It wasn't working. The guy came out and looked at it. He said, "Normally, I would charge for this." But he noted that I was a single mom and had a lot going on.

    Somehow a Lego had gotten in the water reservoir and had stuck up in the sump pump and there were some rocks in there as well from the bottom of the sump pump. He got it all out and came up with something so that it wouldn't suck up the rocks. I was really impressed. They were a really nice company. But when the techs did my water heater, I noticed that they must have needed a rag to clean something off and they just grabbed a rag from my laundry room. I wish they would have asked me. But I've made the most claims this year with AHS and I've been really impressed with everybody that has been sent out. They've been really helpful and kind.

    I had the dishwasher delivered to my house. Two guys went in to remove the other one to install the new one and they said they could not do it because the water line would have to be changed. They weren't allowed to do it because it would cause a leak if they used the old water line as the seal would be no good. The Hays Appliance guy came the next day and said they could fix that with no trouble. He knew exactly what he was doing and had it all done and hooked back up in an hour. His wife stayed right on top of things and she was very cordial. She was really good about telling me when they were coming and arriving exactly at the right time. I was very happy with them.     I was having trouble with a washer and I called American Home Shield. They sent out Calvary, and they were very good. The spin cycle was not working. It would keep repeating the cycle.     I'm mad because I have a ventilation problem that's going on in my house. Up on in my house is covered with plastic, and they want me to go up on there and cut the plastic, so they can call somebody to come and fix it. That's not my job. If I'm paying American Home Shield 70 something dollars a month to ensure everything that I got is insured, it should be their responsibility to find somebody to cut that plastic and find out what's going on with my ventilation problem. But they're not finding anybody to fix my ventilation. I'm wasting money.

    The guy that came out wouldn't replace the knobs on the range. He did just enough to make it work again and that's what I found that American Home Shield does. I'm a little bit disappointed that I'm paying $70 a month for several years. I expect to have a little bit more. They started out at $40 and it's gone up to $70. I will not allow one of their contractors to come back to my property again. They charged me $500 for a refrigerant coolant. We checked the price of that and it was grossly inflated and American Home Shield only paid a part of that. Then two days later, the damn thing went down again and we had to fight them to get that done. They replaced the unit upstairs and they wanted to charge me for upgrades to code standards. But they didn't do any work. I had to take photographs and do stuff on it. Overall, American Home Shield could help me in the case of a catastrophe. But if I put my money in a savings account, I'd probably be better off.

    Overall, American Home Shield is okay but they're not fantastic. You've got to take whoever they want to send to you. You don't get to choose who it is. I had one of the contractors come out and I was having a problem with him. I told him, "Hey, look, man, I don't want that done." He said, "Well, I don't work for you. I work for American Home Shield. I do not work for you and you don't tell me what I can and I can't do." This is the attitude that I've had more than not. American Home Shield just does what they have to do but they're not on my side. They're on the side of making money. Every month that they take that $70, I'm on the verge of canceling.

    We had a claim to American Home Shield for an icemaker. The icemaker took about a month and a half before they decided to fully replace the fridge, which was nice. It just took a really long time between the video diagnosis. They diagnosed the wrong thing, so when the guy came, he had to order a different part. When the next guy came with the next part, it didn't fix the problem because it was an electrical problem. So, it took several weeks and it took several visits. I was without ice and that was frustrating. But eventually, they did replace the whole fridge.

    It was a very frustrating part of the process that we would have to order the part, wait for the part to come, and then we could call to schedule for the next person. That person, usually, was at least 10 days to two weeks out before they could come. Knowing that the part only takes a couple of days to come, it would have been nice if we have started that process much sooner and saved a couple of days. Other than that, when they couldn't fix it, they replaced the item with something comparable. So, I appreciate that.

    I love American Home Shield's service, so far. They've been great, and the benefit of having them is a lot. I spend a lot less than having to do it by myself, ‘cause I don't know what I'm doing. It's also really easy to submit a claim. I can either call AHS on the phone or go online and submit a ticket. All of the technicians have been awesome too. Recently, I had a leak inside the walls on one of my guest bathtubs. The techs weren't able to resolve the problem right away because, initially, they thought it was a pipe, but it was actually a valve. They came back and fixed it a couple of days later. A week later, they patched the holes and did everything really quickly.

    The tech from Greenway Heating and Cooling said that they couldn't fix my issue because a part was stolen. I had issues with my furnace and when a company came out to look at it and do whatever it was they were doing, they stole a part to the central air unit. He showed me where it was cut from and I was so upset. He said that his company couldn't fix that and that I will have to get a whole new unit, which wouldn't be covered under that warranty. He was really nice, though, and I like the service.

    There was an issue with the air conditioner and the technician sent out was very good. But one year ago, I had another HVAC technician come out who I was very disappointed with. He didn't repair the underlying problem and tried to upsell me on services which were not required. AHS could make sure they have well-vetted people that they're dealing with.

    I had three things going on. I had a leak in the kitchen. The tech didn't have it on his truck, so he's downstairs replacing that now. I had a leaky toilet and a leaky faucet which he wound up replacing a thing in. The guy has been fine. He was supposed to come out last week and he said he'd give me a call Tuesday. But he didn’t, so I gave him a call on Thursday. He told me that he was ill. He said, “I'll call you early next week to schedule a time.” He did. He called this morning and said, “I'm thinking today or tomorrow.” He called me an hour ago and said, “If you're available, I'll be out there in about 30 minutes.”

    I have another issue going on with my dryer. The way that AHS is going about it is a little frustrating for me. My dryer was making a loud noise. I requested service. The guy said, “You need a new drum. I'll order it. American Home Shield has approved the purchase. We can't come back out and fix it until you get the parts.” The parts came. They rescheduled the appointment. The guy came out. But, the dryer still does not work at all. When he replaced the drum, it was still making a noise. He told me that the dryer was warped and that he requested that American Shield just go ahead and replace them.

    AHS said, “We'll get a second opinion.” But they requested a second opinion from somebody who doesn't even fix Kenmore appliances. I went online today to look at the request ID but it was marked as complete. I went on the little chat and was able to chat with somebody and told her about it. So they got another repair person coming out to take a look at that.

    I also used the chat and I asked about renewal and what would the rates look like if I want to lower my service fee, ‘cause right now I pay $100 for the service fee. But they were not able to give me that information. They said, “We can make the changes today if you want.” That was the only way that they could pull the trigger and couldn’t even give me a ballpark of what it would look like. That was a little disappointing. They didn't even refer me to anywhere on the website where I could go in and do a mock-up.

    The guy came when he was supposed to and fixed the AC. It made a big old noise and I needed service quick. He said the motor went out and he had one and put it in. It took him about an hour. I'm very happy with his service. With American Home Shield, I'm getting somebody over here quick. So far, so good. They replaced my dishwasher and also fixed my refrigerator. When my sink was plugged up, I got a guy over here to unplug it. It's been unplugged ever since. I pay for American Home Shield, so I'm glad I can use it.

    We had some problems with the ice shoot mechanism on the refrigerator and some washing machine issues. They sent out the first person and both of them said they both needed parts. Without us being informed of it, the washing machine portion was shunted off to a different company, sort of trained. The refrigerator needed a part and that part came in. The refrigerator was repaired. But there was another part that wasn't working so we're waiting for a second part. It's been a couple of weeks now. The washing machine issue is settled, though. It's worked out perfectly well aside from that lack of notification of the handoff to a different vendor.

    I've had American Home Shield for a long time and I like it. I've had excellent service from AHS in getting something repaired. And it has saved me a lot of money.

    There's an automatic shut-off on the unit and it somehow got water in it to cause that shut-off to activate and turn it off. That was one of the first things the repair person that came out here checked and that solved the problem. He was very professional, knew what he was doing, very personable.     The first guy that came out could not fix the dishwasher at all. He said it was our fault that the dishwasher broke, and they couldn’t fix it. He said AHS wouldn't cover the problem. But the second guy fixed my problem in one minute. He said he would get me a spring for the door and it would be delivered on the 22nd. He was good.

    The heating mechanism on the dryer wasn't coming on to dry the clothing. The tech that AHS sent was excellent. He was able to fit me into his schedule right away and was punctual. He gave me some options of some time frames and called me 30 minutes before, so I could leave work. He went right into work and knew what to do. He was able to fix the part on that particular visit. He had to part in his vehicle, so he didn't have to go and find the part or come back. Overall, I had a great experience.

    I like to have American Home Shield. The biggest thing for me is I like having my appliances covered. I don't have to come out that big amount of money when something comes up. And I'm able to call AHS, have somebody come by, look at it and whether they would fix it or not, or I get a new appliance. Recently my microwave was messed up.     When I turned on the shower, it made this noise. I thought something might have been broken. I called American Home Shield. They said I would be charged and they took my payment. They sent me an email saying that I had been assigned to Grade A Plumbing. Somebody called me to schedule a time to come out. The plumber was very nice. He cleaned up his mess in the bathroom after he made whatever change he made. But he said that there wasn't much he could do as far as noises were concerned as long as there was nothing broken.

    I felt like nothing happened because it's still doing the same thing. It's still making the same noise. He said something about hard water. I was not satisfied. I had another claim in that I was not happy with American Home Shield. It was my air conditioning. Because their commercials say if they can't fix it, they replace it. But they were charging me $4,000 because they said it was normal wear and tear. So, I'm done with American Home Shield as far as I'm concerned.

    The electricity in the neighborhood went out and when it came back on six hours later, the electricity wasn't coming back on in some parts of my house. I called American Home Shield. Then, they gave me Turner Electrical's number. It was the hottest day of the week. It was over 102 degrees and I felt like I was dying. When I called Turner Electric, they said that the soonest they would get me was the next following week. I said, "No, that's not gonna happen. I need someone to come out right away, like in the movies do." Then, I said, "Can you give me another electrical number?" They said, "No, because once we cancel it, you might not even get an appointment." I finally got an appointment for the next day. I pushed the issue and that worked out because then, the guy came out and fixed the issue.

    The gentleman that came, Chris, was very professional, he knew what he was doing, and he got the job done. He also took the time to explain. He told me to keep an eye out if there are any more surges but since he fixed what he needed to fix, there haven't been any more surges. So, that was great advice. With my experience, I would recommend the company again.

    I couldn't find the emergency number, so I went online because I'm already signed in, and did the ticket from there. What I didn’t like is I had to pay upfront the $100. And I had to use my credit card. I'm used to you coming to the facility and either I write a check. I wasn't used to that. I couldn't finish the ticket online unless I produced a credit card or paycheck. But the contractor came out the same day I did it. I did it about 9:00 or 10:00 that morning, and they were there the same day. Not only did they come out, and the holiday was the next day, the tech was very nice. He explained everything to me. I enjoyed his performance. He was very professional. I liked that plumbing place. Everybody at my job likes American Home Shield. I referred somebody to them.

    I still have an issue that needs to be resolved. Recently, I had some repair done and there's something wrong with the process. I don't know what happened. So, I called the 1800 number, but they just put notes there. I'm at a loss until now. I thought the contractor contacted American Home Shield. So, they repaired it, and now I received a bill from them. I told the contractor, "Why will I pay that? It's between you and American Home Shield. Why will you bill me?" I've had some repairs before. But the last service was terrible. Maybe it's the fault of the contractor because they didn't wait for AHS's authorization.

    All of their services should have some fine print in it. For example, when I replaced my water heater, I paid $600 more. I did a separate check-up on my AC. So, I asked them if, "For example, because it's 12 years old now, if this breaks down, will American Home Shield shoulder?" "Oh no, no, no. I don't know. You'll be paying a lot of money even if you're with American Home Shield." If your AC or heater breaks down. Some contractors are very good, but sometimes you'll be surprised you'll just get repair only. AHS will not replace it. How will AHS handle it if my AC breaks down? There should be some fine print in it. That's why I got this insurance. I will pay less. Some of the policies are not clear. It's not completely relayed to customers like me. Last time, I was surprised. "Oh, really? I have to pay this much?" Some of my friends recommended me to another provider. So, I'm thinking about it.
