    I had a drip and I thought it was with the air conditioning unit. So, I originally asked AHS for the air conditioner man, but when the air conditioner man came out, he said it was not an air conditioner problem. It was something up in our pipes, which was under the floorboard. So I rescheduled and AHS sent the plumber with Metropolitan Plumbing. The plumber was a very nice gentleman and he was polite. He looked at the dishwasher because that was where I thought the leak was coming from. He pulled the little thing out of the dishwasher and took everything out of the cabinets. He said there was no water there and that if there was a leak there, he would see water either under the dishwasher or in the cabinets.

    Then we went downstairs and he looked at the water dripping. He said it was dripping from up there and it might be a pipe just under our floor. He said it must be small, but it must be constant, because the wood was rotting. Most plumbers that I know, if they need to cut some wood to get to the pipe, then they cut the wood. But that little fella said that he didn’t do that. He said that he would write up the report and send it to American Home Shield, and they would send somebody.

    He said I would get a call from them saying that they could get somebody to cut the woods. But I talked to American Home Shield and they said they don't have anyone to come out and cut the wood out so the plumber can get to the pipe. So I've not been helped yet. I had to give up $100 for no reason at all for the tech to come out and tell me that they need to come and send somebody to cut the floor. And now I'm rethinking the whole American Home Shield process because they can't help me and I'm going to have to get somebody on the outside to come in and cut the wood so a plumber can get to the leak.

    At this point, I'm ready to cut AHS off. It's so frustrating when you try to pay for service so you’ll be covered then when something happens, you're not covered. Aside from that, I'm paying them a monthly fee which they take out of my account, but every time I call them, I got to pay 100 dollars. That's wrong and $100 don’t grow on trees.

    I had an incident with the kitchen sink and a leak that had a contractor come out. We thought that we were all set to have them come back, and it would be fixed during the week between Christmas and New Year's. But we didn't hear anything from them at all until after New Year’s. When I reached out, the tech got very hostile with us and it became very uncomfortable. I tried to shift the work order to another company, and American Home Shield said, "We'll give you $200 and you can go with whoever you like." But I’ve got to do the legwork myself. On the other hand, I recently had a fridge leak. The guy came out in very short order. He was very nice and knocked it out like nothing. It's a matter of the contractors needing to be vetted properly. After that incident with the one guy, I did a quick Google search. There were a number of negative reviews that said similar things about this gentleman specifically but they’re still being used by American Home Shield.

    My service with American Home Shield has been great every time. I did a claim when the spring thing in my garage broke for a second time. The process was very quick and easy. I submitted the claim online and I was assigned a repair person. They called me the next day and scheduled an appointment. They came exactly when they said they would and repaired the garage quickly.     I had a washer claim and the contractor tried to repair it but they couldn't repair it. Home Shield gave me the buyout value and I bought another unit. Now, my dishwasher just went out and another company came out. They said that the dishwasher was worth 500 but Home Shield said it’s only worth 400. I thought that was a big difference. It's 100 bucks off but Home Shield wouldn't change it. I've been with them for six years. I'm paying $40 a month and I still pay a fee of 125 for a tech to come out. Right now, I'm looking for somebody else who's cheaper.

    AHS is something good to have when you have unforeseen repairs. The biggest thing for me was when I used to rent properties out, I used to use it. But now, I don’t own any other properties other than the one I live in. But I still keep using it and it’s always worked out really well. However, for air conditioning, they only cover so many pounds of Freon. They should have a premium kind of plan where more things are covered and they’re more specific.

    We bought this house, and the water heater was old and ready to go. So, our house flooded because the water heater was leaking. We took care of that, then American Home Shield had someone replace the water heater very good. I had very little issues with American Home Shield or All American Plumbing, but when they replaced the water heater, unfortunately, they must have touched the gas valve. Because the same day, after we had hot water for half a day, I could smell gas in the air. We had a gas technician come out for an emergency call, and he determined that there was a gas leak at the valve where the natural gas was being pumped into the house. We had to have the gas shut off. So, they had to come back and replace that part of the valve that was leaking and broken most likely as a result of extending the water heater, because none of us messed with the gas line.

    The customer service was fantastic. I absolutely loved every interaction with American Home Shield and All American Plumbing, and I would not go to any other home warranty. I even had a billing question, and that was answered to me so competently. I had to carry some cost myself, because something was not covered by my plan. I inquired about why this cost suddenly fell on to us, and it was laid out for me so well that I wouldn't even want to argue about it. It made perfect sense. I felt very well-taken care of, and I absolutely agreed to the terms that I initially signed, so that was very good all around.

    They come right out and take care of business. They’re always professional. They do a good job. My second bathroom sink is worn out and it haa a hole in it almost the size of a pencil point. You could see it. There's rust or corrosion around the edges of it. It doesn't look very nice. But it’s not covered. Also, the toilet cannot be repaired if there's a crack in it.

    I feel pretty good about my service with American Home Shield. The only thing that I would say is sometimes it takes longer to do things than we would like. For example, we had a stove issue that went out and it was over a month before it was repaired. The service technician came out, did an initial look at it, and then had to order the part. This has happened a couple of times. We had a hot water heater that went out and the process was lengthy, as well.

    But the last time we used American Home Shield was for a toilet upstairs and during the phone call, they have a new system where I took a video of it and streamed it. That feature helped a lot in the process. The technician came out and he knew exactly what was wrong with it and what he had to bring to the job instead of coming out, making a diagnosis, and then ordering a part. He was able to just show up within five days to do it. This last experience was much more positive than experiences in the past. I am pleased to see that American Home Shield has used technology to expedite the process.

    The oven was having some issues heating up. There was something wrong with the motherboard because the display was flashing and the light kept on flashing even though the door was open. When it was closed, it kept on saying the door was open. The technician that came out was absolutely brilliant. If I didn't have American Home Shield, I would definitely re-engage them to help me. Their customer service was amazing.

    The people who have come out to fix the problems have been great. But American Home Shield will do everything that they possibly can to not replace something. It seems like there are just band-aids that are being put on things. For example, the washing machine wasn't really working properly and the technician fixed it as much as they could, but it's still not really great.

    When the capacitor wasn't working within our AC unit, the contractor said, "Well, American Home Shield won't approve anything because there's still cold air coming out." So they didn't fix the issue with the actual fuse board, which is making this horrendous buzzing noise every time it kicks on because it's drawing power from the fuse board and not the capacitor. It was a little disappointing. I couldn't replace it because it's still blowing cold air. But it wakes me up every single time at night because it's that loud. We won't renew with American Home Shield because I'd rather spend that money buying new appliances than spending the money to renew the membership and pay the service fee.

    The motor was burnt out so I had an AC guy come out. This happened on a Saturday night. I called Saturday and he called me Sunday at 8:00 in the morning, saying he would be out there. I thought I'd have to wait until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest. But he was out here Sunday morning. I’m a maintenance tech. So, when he came out here, I told him everything that was wrong with it. He looked it over and said it was good. But as he was leaving, it went out again. So, I flagged him down quick and he came right back in and fixed it. He left me a piece of paper. He said that if it acts up any time after this, to give them a call.     I had a leak under my sink. I heard from the contractor the next day. The techs finished the job. I've had mostly good experiences with AHS. But they sold me a package that was still a higher-up package than what I had previously and included an HVAC service. There was some confusion around what was covered versus what was not and people weren't calling me back. The person who sold me the coverage said both my units would be covered to get serviced once a year and that didn't happen. I tried to just set up for the one because it was an $80 value and they wouldn't do it. They said it was past time. I said, “Well, that's because you guys took forever to get back to me.” That left a really bad taste in my mouth.

    The AC had a weird noise inside of the house and it was not blowing really hard. I called American Home Shield on July 24. Technicians came to my house and they inspected the unit. My blower had an issue because it was making a grinding noise, like when metal is touching another metal. It was very loud.     My most recent claim to American Home Shield was for an electrical issue that was not a problem at all. I learned from the experience. The claims process was smooth. It seems like everything always occurs at the end of the week and I end up getting pushed to the following week to have a service call, which is unfortunate, especially when it concerns having a power outage in a certain part of my home like I did. So, AHS could have a more timely service call response to a request for service.

    Overall, I've been pleased with AHS. I had a plumbing issue which is what I was really disappointed with. I had been having frequent problems with my toilet downstairs being able to flush. It would get backed up. Then I had a shower upstairs that was not draining properly. The technician said there wasn't really a problem with the toilet line, which disappointed me. He said, "You really probably should consider getting a new toilet." This house was just built in 2017. He quoted me two prices. One was $770 for a standard toilet. Then another was the pressure-assisted, and he quoted me $1,100 to do it and told me just to call them when I was ready.

    I got online on the internet and there was nothing that was that high that I found. I ended up getting the pressure-assisted toilet replaced by a recommended plumbing service for $700, which was $400 less than I was quoted. That really concerned me because I didn't feel that he took the time to adequately determine. I knew I had a problem. I've been dealing with it for almost a year, and he's telling me there wasn't. I really was gravely disappointed in that experience, and that was not American Home Shield as much as it was the company, and yet they were the same company that came out on my electrical issue.

    This plumber just didn't feel right from the beginning. It truly didn't. I was really disappointed with the conclusion of it after having spent $107.25 to have the service call and then him telling me I didn't have a problem and I just need to change the toilet. There was nothing even in the ballpark of what he quoted me to do it. Everything was significantly less expensive than what he quoted. I paid $770 and that included everything. There was no tax on top of that. I'm a senior citizen living on a fixed income, and those issues affect my life.

    I've used American Home Shield a couple of times. When my washer was leaking, the Appliance Repair Experts guy came in on time, did his thing and explained it to me. He was awesome. Right now though, I'm not too thrilled with my swamp cooler experience, which is going on three weeks now. First, American Home Shield sent a guy from Anthem, and he recommended to get a new one, which American Home Shield said they couldn't cover it. Still, they ordered me one and it took two weeks to get it there. American Home Shield told me they can't do anything, and I had to call today to set up an appointment. I finally got a hold of Anthem, but they can’t install the new swamp cooler until September. It's hot as hell in my area, and I have kids too. Besides that, Anthem has been okay.

    The panel on my stove went out. The technician went downstairs to check it wasn't a circuit breaker problem then he came back up, did whatever he could, and it wouldn't do anything. He left and ordered a new part, but first he took pictures of it to make sure he was ordering the right stuff. When he came back in, he put it back together for me, and it's working just fine. The technician was very prompt. He called before he came, finished up the work, and gave me good feedback. He had to take the panel off, and he gave me a few minutes to clean up while he was doing something else.

    The rubber thing which will help the washing machine work looked like it had gone bad. The Sears technician came in and ordered a part and when it came back, I called him. He immediately came and fixed it so there was not issue at all. It was smooth. But I had a bad experience right after that with the contractor for plumbing.     I only use American Home Shield when I need it and that's far and few. But as a single female, the home warranty is very helpful in that when I need service done, fieldwork is done for me. Usually, a call goes out in a proper amount of time and everything is taken care of within a few business days. I’m definitely pleased. When a fan in my attic wasn’t circulating, a tech came out within a few days. It was within the timeframe. He worked very quickly up in the attic. It’s hot right now in the south so he did well.     I'm very unhappy with American Home Shield. I had a washer that was leaking water. I called American Home Shield. They referred the company, Axis, to come and do the repairs. We've had the Axis repair person here at least five times, and the problem still persists. I called American Home Shield and I said, “If you have a repair person who has been coming to fix the same problem four times, and the problem still persists, that tells me that that repair person doesn't know what he's doing.” We haven't been able to use our washer for four weeks now. So, I told American Home Shield that they've got to do something, either change the repair person or the repair company. They said they couldn't. If I want them to change the company, I have to pay an extra $100. Otherwise, that's the way the contract is.

    I expressed my displeasure that that's not acceptable at all. They have to be flexible when they have any incompetent service company that they signed a contract with. They’ve got to be able to be flexible to change when that company is not doing a good job. I had another claim with an AC repair company, and the AC repair company was extremely interested in selling me their AC. So, the sales interest was greater than the interest in getting the service performed. So I decided to use a third party.

    I had a malfunctioning AC unit. The contractor that AHS sent inspected the unit and determined that the blower motor needed to be replaced. But 57 days later, they still haven't come back yet. Originally, they ordered the wrong part. So, they figured that out when they went to pick up the part. This is where the problem started. There was a miscommunication between the contractor and AHS. From that point forward, when they figured out that the wrong part was ordered, no action was taken by either side for about a month. The contractor never returned my call, left me several voice messages, and I've been contacting AHS. AHS was claiming that the contractor never submitted for them to determine or approve the purchase of that part of that blower motor. But the contractor submitted that information on June 28th. As soon as I get this resolved, I'm gonna cancel my service with AHS.

    I called them for Freon in my AC and the first tech put Freon in one of my units. He looked at the second unit and he said, “Well, this is good. It seems to be working well and it doesn’t look like it needs any Freon.” I said, “Okay, no problem.” I went to sleep and woke up sweating. I called the work order back in and another gentleman showed up. He said, “Okay, your capacitor went out.” He had the part in the truck. And it took him about less than five minutes to take the bolts out and plug it up and put a new one on there and then it cranked up. Everything started working. He also checked my Freon levels again for that unit, which didn't get checked the first time, with a gauge. I was pleased with the quickness that everything happened.

    Submitting a claim to American Home Shield was easy and I could do it on my phone. Air Comfort Complete was a contractor I had and they were good. They basically had to rebuild my washing machine. They tried a couple things and those didn't work. They then decided to put in a whole new motor and now, it's working like a trooper. Overall, my experience was nice. They came out and finished the work. But it did take a month and a half because of parts and time. They came out every week and kept me in the loop of what was going on. Everything worked out real well.

    So far, I am very impressed with American Home Shield and it's gonna be them that I will recommend. It's a bit more expensive than my previous home warranty company but I am very pleased with the service I've gotten so far. Recently, my hot water heater had quit working. A contractor came out, and they replaced the element. The young fellow told me that if it still didn't work, to call them back. The next morning, it seemed to me it was doing okay. But later in the day, it wasn't. I called them back then scheduled someone to come out on Sunday.

    That Saturday morning, I got up. I had scorching hot water. I called them and told them I had hot water. Later, I didn't have hot water. I started writing it down, when I had hot water and when it came again. I came to find out I would have hot water first thing in the morning and that was it. I wound up calling them back and asking them what it was I needed to do. They said I needed to put in a recall for them to come back out. I called American Home Shield and they didn't give me any trouble. They were happy to work with me to resolve my problem. I wish I had dealt with them a long time ago. The customer service was easy to talk to. I didn't have to go through 15 people to talk to somebody. The only thing I didn’t like was not getting paid for documentation.

    In general, the service is okay, but it's awfully expensive. We were paying $63 a month plus $135 when we put in a request of an appliance problem. Now, as of August 1st, they're charging me $20 extra a month. Also, they have not reimbursed me for something that they should have reimbursed me for. We can't go with them anymore. Not in this kind of economy. We'd be paying over $1,000 a year to them, whether we use them or not. And they have a problem with getting technicians. We've used AHS a lot and sometimes it was great but sometimes it wasn't.

    I have a fridge that had consistent issues. The contractor came to check out the fridge, my washer and dryer, and the stove. With this last thing, I have to wait until the service repair person comes in and says, “Okay, we can't fix it.” If they can fix it, they just take care of it. So, with the stove, they came and just changed some knob or something. But with the washing machine, they weren’t to order the parts. So, they just sent me an email with how much it was worth and then, they gave me three choices of either purchasing through them. But they didn't really have anything that I like. I had to buy my own, then they'll reimburse or use the Lowe's gift card.

    My sink got plugged up. My husband tried to use the snake on it and he couldn't get it cleared. American Home Shield sent Sundance and two guys tried to electric snake my drain and they weren't successful. They told me somebody else would have to rip out the counters and cupboard to access the clog. I called my brother-in-law who’s a union plumber and there were several things that Sundance said to me that were of concern to him. They could only get their electric snake 5 to 10 feet in and it was plugged up at a T in the pipe. And it wasn't letting it go any further than that because he said we have galvanized pipes. My home was built in 1993 and they stopped using galvanized pipes in the '70s. So there was one thing that they weren't correct on.

    The second thing was that for residential plumbing, the T can only be a maximum of one and a half foot past the cleanout and they were going down 5 or 10 feet. After all was said and done, I called our homeowners and they sent someone out. There wasn't $1,000 worth of damage for homeowners to cover. That was our deductible. We poured something similar to Drano down the drain, and it cleared it.

    The Sundance techs were very friendly but I don't think they knew what they were doing. Other than that, every time that I've had American Home Shield come out, I've been totally happy with what they did. They fixed everything and it's been totally worth it to me.

    I like American Home Shield’s service. I love that I can use the internet to schedule my appointments and have my appliance people to come over and fix my appliances. I've only used AHS twice but I've had great experiences with it. Coastline, the contractor, did a wonderful job. They were timely and gave us the information. They ordered a part for us and came back right away once the part came in. They still weren't able to fix the appliance but they shared all that information with us. So, they were good.     The initial issue was the conditioner was not working at all. The repairman from Prayco replaced a breaker inside the air handler and a capacitor on the outside air conditioning unit. He fixed everything wonderfully. The second issue he came out for was about the condensation getting on the air filter. He came out yesterday, but what he thought he had fixed, it is still doing it again. They're gonna come out and do that. I pay for that 'cause he said that's all under maintenance which I understand. He is wonderful. He knows what he's doing.

    I have a claim that's still pending on my oven. I'm waiting for the oven to get here. American Home Shield couldn't find the oven for me so they made me an offer of $2,600 to replace it. I found one at Best Buy but Best Buy has to get it to Kansas City from Kentucky. I'm supposed to be getting it here the end of this month. I was told by a technician some time ago that American Home Shield is the best warranty company. The guy from Prayco told me the same thing. Out of all the warranty companies they work with, American Home Shield is the best. They pay their techs the best and they also take care of their customers the best.

    There was a leak coming from the water valve for my washer and dryer. I had to pay 75 bucks for the guy to come out and do an estimate. He wanted to do something crazy by tearing out the wall and cutting the pipes and redo everything. He told me that Home Shield wouldn't pay for all of it and that I’d have to foot the bill for tearing out the walls. Apparently, it said that in the agreement. I've used AHS for other problems and we've had people come out and fix our appliances. They were pretty good about getting the work done. But with this plumber, it was really bad. He was not a friendly guy. He seemed to be irritated about being there. He wasn't a happy guy coming to give me an estimate.

    CNJ said they were gonna send me an estimate of the cost to get this issue fixed. The next day, I got an email from them saying that I would have to cough up 850 bucks to fix two water valves. That was ridiculous. I told them I didn't think that was really the problem. I complained to Home Shield about it but they kept telling me that CNJ had good ratings with them. But when I looked at Google, they've got a lot of 1-star reviews. They should be removed from Home Shield's list. Home Shield is using companies that will charge an arm and a leg to fix these problems. A lot of these companies are taking advantage of people like me.

    I found a local plumber not too far from where I live that got a lot of good reviews and my neighborhood said good things about this guy. So I called him up and he came out and looked at it. He said that he could do it for $350. I paid the guy and said, “Go ahead and do it. Get it done.” He fixed the problem and I saved myself 500 bucks.

    I had another claim that was good. The tech came out for our dryer. He did an excellent job. He was very friendly. He tried to find out what the problem was and I told him what the problem was. He ordered the part. When the part came in, he came out and replaced it. Everything was fine. I didn't have to pay 500 or 1,000 bucks for him to replace it.

    When I signed the yearly contract with American Home Shield, I thought I was paying $45. But when I looked at my bill, it was $57 a month. They didn’t tell me they were gonna jack up my premium. But they have the best program overall compared to a lot of other companies. It's just that they wouldn't cover the plumbing 100%. Even though it was above ground, they wouldn't cover all of it.

    The garage door was unbalanced and we found out that the spring was broken. I was disappointed at trying to get the techs here because I was told that they were going to call me the next day, but I never got a phone call. So, I made a decision to make that call instead. But other than that, customer service-wise with them was pretty good. When the guy got here, he was pretty smooth, fast, and explained to me what was wrong and how could I fix it.

    I had to pay extra because one of the springs was broken, but the other one wasn't. The other one was showing age and already about to break. So, I decided that I wasn't going to wait for another time when I got to pay some more money for the tech to come over and get it replaced when he already here. I asked the tech why was I going to pay for the other one and he told me it was not covered. So, I paid for it with my own money and my insurance paid for the other side that was broken. They said they could only cover the one that was broken.

    I also called AHS about three weeks ago as I was paying for my insurance for a certain amount of money, but they have insurance also on their side that they just updated. It's brand-new and it's covered by less of what I'm paying for. And the one I have, which I'm paying a lot more, does not include coverage for this part. It doesn't make sense at all. I was never notified about the changes to that and I wish they did. Other than that, AHS has been pretty good and I've never had issues with their customer service. But sometimes I have issues with the contractors when there's a miscommunication between my insurance and their company and trying to get ahold of the customer service reps to get help.

    I am partially happy with American Home Shield. There are some things that I had experienced in the past, but there's nothing I can do about that. They had their own rules, and I needed their company. I had a recent toilet claim, and I didn't have any problem with that. The company and their guy were excellent. They came in on time.

    Overall, American Home Shield has negative and positive things. In case of an emergency, the company will provide some help right away, even within 24 hours, which I experienced a few winters ago. That saves us a lot of worries. That's what I like. The only negative thing that I could think of is that for the replacement, even if you bought very expensive equipment, what you're gonna be replaced with is just the average or lower kind of equipment replacement. I have a Casablanca. It was changed with something lower than Hunter. There was nothing I can do because if that is their company policy, I should have read more. Other than that, I love how fast they gave their services. One time, a guy from an electrical company came, and he was obnoxious and he thought that we're racist. I complained to the company. AHS did something about it. I never met that guy anymore. So, they do something with their people's complaints. That’s good.

    We made a sevice request for our air conditioner. It ceased to function and it was smoky. It had a very chemical-like smell so I shut the unit off. When the tech came out, he said that the motor had seized. Since it was a Friday, he was gonna put the order in once he got back. However, I may not get serviced until the following week. I went and bought a bunch of fans. I then got a text message that an agent was on his way. It didn't register to me at first that it was a different company until he got here. He started asking if he could go up and review what was going on and he explained to me that he was from a different company.

    I had to look through my emails or my text messages to remind myself of who it was that had initially looked at the unit. I let him know, “Hey, this was May Heating and Air that had contacted me initially.” He went outside and called American Home Shield just to get the story. He had the motor with him so he went ahead and made the repair. Even though there may have been little confusion between May Heating and the other agency, the unit still got fixed and American Home Shield was on it. They did what they needed to do and things worked out really well. That agent was awesome too.

    Right now, it seems like the air conditioner is working. I'm keeping an eye on it just because our bedroom is normally an icebox at this point. For some reason, it isn't. It's just taking a minute. I can always call American Home Shield if I have to next week if there's still an issue. But I don't foresee there being an issue. It just needs a little time to reset or cool everything. So far, the house seems nice and cool.

    I've told people like friends of mine who have experienced issues about American Home Shield. I asked them, “Do you guys have a home warranty?” They're like, “No” so I tell them to get one and that American Home Shield has one of the best ratings.     When I first got the house, my burners on the stove didn't work. Somebody came over and they said, "You need new parts and we'll order them." Everything was good. So, for three weeks, I was waiting and I called American Home Shield and they said, "they don't want to do the service. We're going to send you another company." The second company came and looked at my burners and said, "Oh, yeah, we'll get you the parts." They didn't want to do the work because it's not an easy job. A third company came and said, "I only do installations. I don't repair." So then, they referred me back to one of the other ones.

    What I have is a Thermador freestanding range and AHS said, "Well, none of the repair technicians can get the parts. We need a Thermador vendor." Nothing happened. I called. "We need the approval to get a Thermador vendor." The last I heard was they assigned me a Thermador vendor, who I called to make sure they service Thermador, and they said, "No problem. We'll call you next week." They never called.

    The problem with AHS is every time you call, you get a different person and a different story. Every technician I speak to tells me they're going to do the job and they don't do the job. I waited a long time because they couldn't find anyone from Thermador. I was like, "I bet you I can find someone in a half hour. Do you want me to find someone for you?" They were like, "No." They got me the person, but he hasn't called me to make the appointment. Three people have already stated what parts needed to be ordered. No one has to come. They just have to get the parts. That's only one appliance.

    AHS is horrible. They gave me money for a new refrigerator and my suspicion is they don't want to give me any more money and are giving me the runaround. I would appreciate it if they'd just say, "I'm sorry, we don't cover this anymore," so I didn't waste my life thinking they did. It's almost like I'm being lied to. Alsoo, American Home Shield's website is inoperable. So, I can't follow up on anything that's been going on. I can't see any of my status for anything. It stopped recording things. I cannot request service online, too. I have to call. I've complained about that, too. If it was online, then we could trace everything like, "Part's been ordered." You can't trace anything because nothing shows up online.

    On the 18th of July, Crispy Air came into my house to try and repair my AC. Their diagnosis was that there was a compressor problem and that it was going to take one week to find a compressor and to bring it back. I asked why it was a long time like that and they said they have a timeframe of one or two weeks. They also said that if I needed it to be more quick, I got to buy a unit. They told me that they could bring a unit from National on the next day, that they could finance it for me for two years, and in the next two days, they could can put in the new AC. I told them that I'm with American Home Shield but they said that AHS doesn’t respond too quickly and that was why they have to do things like that. But I told them that I have a good insurance with American Home Shield and they are really good with me.

    The techs then said that they would have to make a new appointment and that they would be coming out between 12:00 noon and 6:00 in the afternoon. But on the day of the appointment, they showed up at 9:30 in the night with the wrong compressor. When they started to see that they couldn’t put the compressor, they said they had to bring another one because the one that they had was different. When I asked how long it was going to take, they said it would take another week or so and that they got to see if they could find this compressor and bring it back. So, I had to go another week with no AC.

    After that, they came in and we had the same issue. They should have shown up between 12:00 and 6:00 in the afternoon, but they showed up at 8:30 at night. They figured out that the compressor was okay but they checked the air handler and said that they had to replace it. They said they had to call American Home Shield and get the approval. When I asked how long it was going to take, they said that in the next couple of days, they could bring me a new unit. They said that if I did business with them, they could finance it for 24 months and I'd pay $100. It seemed to me that they wanted me to buy from them and they didn't want to fix my unit through American Home Shield.

    After another week, they came in with the air handler and put it in. But the AC had been good for one day and it stopped again. I called them and they put me in the least on the line. They said I had to wait for a week to get a technician here because they got so many people and so many customers to take care of. I told them that I got a 2 months old baby in my house and an old person. We cannot live in Arizona with no AC. But they still said that I had to wait another week for the technician to come over.

    Yesterday, a technician came to my place. He gave me a timeframe between 2:00 to 6:00, and he showed up at 7:30. He started to fix the AC and tried to make a chomp in here. He said it seemed like the problem was with the electronic board and that it was really complicated to find. He said he needed a part and that it should be here overnight. But I told him that I’ve been working in maintenance for a lot of years and when the machine is broken, I fix it and stay. I don’t have to wait for a week and a half for a part. He then said not to worry and that he would see what he could do. He said he would fix it in the next 15 minutes. He tried to put Freon in and left. But the AC was broken again after two hours.

    So I called back this morning and these people said that the guy that I asked for, Brandon, was in a meeting. He's supposed to be the manager and he's the one I talk to as I cannot speak to the company because it seems like I had to speak with somebody in the top. I was almost ready to call the Consumer Affairs for a lot of times before. But I tried to see if I could give a chance for these people to fix my AC. It seems though that these guys only want me to buy a unit from them. Plus, they talked very bad about American Home Shield. But I know that American Home Shield doesn’t have a problem with me. I have the top insurance and I never had a problem like I had with this Crispy Air company. Last week, the water heater was broken and techs came the next day. They came in with a new water heater and replaced the old one.

    After being almost a month and a half or more with Crispy Air, I went over the internet and checked their reviews. Everybody’s talking really bad about that company. So, I feel like I am in the loop with these people and I don’t know what to do. I also talked to American Home Shield a lot of times and I talked to managers. And it seems like those people talk to Crispy every time I call but Crispy doesn’t care. American Home Shield should talk to these guys. They will get in trouble if these people don’t fix my AC soon. I also spend so much time to reach them AHS. Every time the Crispy people would come in, I'd call back American Home Shield and it’d be an hour where I have to be on the phone. Then I have to wait for 24 hours to speak with the supervisors sometimes.

    American Home Shield has done what they advertised they're doing. Recently, my air conditioner had to be repaired. The outside unit was down and I told the tech that the inside unit had problems as well but he couldn't test it because the outside unit was down. If they fix that, they're gonna have a claim in for another one so I asked for the money in lieu of repairs and I bought and put in a whole new unit. They said the reimbursement could be anywhere up to three weeks. Usually, they're pretty good, though. I've had previous claims that were settled fairly quickly. But they need to streamline their process when they're going to offer cash in lieu of repairs because that's money out of my pocket without being reimbursed for a while.

    I got a water heater installed, and the plumbing company that came out was good. However, they were supposed to do an inspection. So, I had to follow up a number of times to get the inspection done. The inspection passed, but it’s a safety issue. They have to install something on top of the hot water heater for it to be safe, and it looks like they did not do that part. They were supposed to follow up with it, but I never heard back from them. I made several calls to both American Home Shield to set up the inspection and the plumbing company, and I just called again to get that fixed. Everything else is fine.

    My dryer was leaving black lines on clothing, meaning that one of the bearings was out. The dryer is only five years old, so it shouldn't have been doing that. I called American Home Shield and paid the $125 fee for the tech to come out. He replaced the $5 part in about 20 minutes then he charged me about $75 to clean out the lines that were there. And the dryer is functioning appropriately now. He was a cool guy but the service fee was expensive considering I had something that was supposed to cover that. But there are going to be things where I have to pay for but are not exactly going to be like replacing a dryer.

    I have three faucets total, two in the master bedroom and one in the downstairs bathroom. One of the two faucets on my master bedroom was leaking. When I called American Home Shield, they told me to take a picture of the leaking. I took the video, sent it to them and they approved that. When the technician came out and checked it, he didn't turn back on the valve. He couldn't see the leaking. He put it as no malfunction so American Home Shield didn't approve for that. But I had called and American Home Shield said it was approved. Also, the one downstairs faucet wasn’t added for some reason when he came to fix it. He said that was not approved.

    The first time when he came to fix the leaking upstairs, my sink is a little longer than the standard replacement of the faucet, so he had to reorder the extension. He couldn't replace it all the way. He just removed all the faucet. Then we waited for them to order a new faucet that have longer extension to fit my sink. During the waiting time, I sent another video of this downstairs faucet and American Home Shield approved that. When he came over the second time, he replaced everything.

    Third Generation came out three times to repair an air conditioner unit. The first time they came out, they replaced a transformer and a capacitor. The unit started running and the guy left. About six hours later, we realized that the air conditioner was running, but it would not shut off and I could not shut it off with the thermostat. The only way I could shut it off was by pulling the main circuit breaker in the house. They came back out and they looked at it. They said, "Well, there's nothing I can do because we have to apply for American Home Shield to repair a low voltage wire and I can't do that while I'm here." That was on Saturday. So, we kept on turning the circuit breaker on and off for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday too. On Tuesday, somebody came out and they replaced the wall thermostat and that cured the problem.

    We had another plumbing issue that was not taken care of. We had a leak and it was a severe leak, and a guy came out. He said, "I'm going to apply to American Shield. I have to get an estimate to you and to them." He came back with an absolutely ridiculous repair and he said, "Well, fixing the problem will only be 100-some dollars. But there's other things that we have to do or we will not do the repair." So, American Home Shield was supposed to repair and between their contractor, the only way that we could get it done was by paying them an extra $350.

    In the meantime, the leak had progressed to the point that I had to go and cut the line that was leaking and put a cap on both ends of it. That was a cure, but it did not properly address the problem, because now, we have an interrupted line. Another contractor was sent out for a second opinion and he said, "I won't touch that either." So, nobody repaired the leak. AHS hasn't been able to get anybody. They consider it done. I'm not at the property now. I was at the property. I flew down and I was there for 13 days to try and get this matter fixed and was not able to accomplish it within the time I was in Florida. So, I would not recommend American Home Shield. I am very disappointed.

    I called to report the problem to American Home Shield and the rep went through the process. They took our money and said that Kelly’s Appliance would be in touch. It took closer to a week than it was less and I wound up calling AHS back and the automated system gave me the contact for Kelly's so I called Kelly’s. The tech immediately answered and said that he just hadn't had a chance to call me. He sounded like he was busy.

    Once I've called the tech and talked to him, he was Johnny-on-the-spot. He came the next morning and looked at the refrigerator, and he knew what part needed to be ordered. He told me that he would order the part and as soon as it comes in, he would be right there to fix it. He left and another week went by, and there was no contact. He told me the part would be just four days so I called him back and he said he got the part and he was ready to go. He scheduled it within 48 hours and a day or two later, he was up here and he fixed the appliance. The only negative part about that whole thing is he never would ever contact me. I had to contact him every time. I didn't like that too well but when I talked to him, he was quick to get it done.

    I have no problems with American Home Shield and I would recommend them to a friend. We had them several years ago and when you called, you had an opportunity to talk to someone. If there's a way to talk to somebody, somebody can explain to me how. But I never get to talk to anyone. I'm not the kind of person who feels very happy just trying to communicate with computers and AI. I'd like to be able to at least ask a question to someone. If all you want to do is give them your credit card and report it, and then somebody calls you the next day or two days later, if that system always works and it works well, then it's not that big a deal. But if I want to ask somebody a question, I don't know how to get up with them.

    When I didn't hear from Kelly’s Appliances for nearly a week and I tried to get back and get some information, I had to navigate the system a little bit. I'm not the most computer savvy person, but I had to keep trying and going up and going down the different fingers of choices that they gave me till I got it. I'm not completely against an automated system because a lot of people like that. But I'd like to be able to have a better choice. We used AHS for a while and then we dropped them not because they were bad. It's just we thought we could save a little money. But we decided that it's about equal. By the time we would fix one appliance, we can almost just get an annual subscription to American Home Shield. So we went back to them, but when we went back, we had all this automated stuff and that was very different.

    Called for Ceiling Fan that stopped working and electrical problems with lights all in same area. 5 weeks, 3 - 1 hour long phone calls later, and 2 visits from the same provider who lied on multiple occasions, I called a reputable company to fix and they fixed it for less than the cost of service call with AHW. The company they sent out put in a diagnosis of it not being covered prior to even coming out to the house. I am filing with the BBB as well. Side Note their only call center is in another company and most conversations start with repeating your information 3-6 times as the person on the other end does not speak sufficient English to understand phone number nor addresses.

    My outside condenser broke down. It's no longer heating. Someone has been out to examine it and deemed it unfixable and it has to be replaced entirely. So, we're waiting to set up the final appointment to get rid of the old unit and replace it with a new unit.     Sirius came out and took care of my AC problem immediately. They had to replace a fan motor and got our AC working back again within 48 hours of the call and 24 hours of when it failed. When I made the claim to American Home Shield, the motor was making noise. So, I knew the bearing was going out. Then, the next day, it seized. So, he was able to change it. He told me though that if the motor hadn't seized and was still spinning, he couldn't have changed it, which I was shocked about because it was definitely on its way out. He said the warranty wouldn't cover it if it was still moving, even though it was obviously going to die. At any rate, we got it taken care of.

    American Home Shield has come in handy when we've needed things repaired or looked at. We had a valve for one of our toilets. The wall valve was broken. We couldn't turn it off and that would have cost a couple of hundred dollars to have it repaired. I was able to have it done with a $75 claim. For the most part, it's been good. The only thing that they wouldn't cover originally was the PRV valve, which caused the pipes to shatter in the house because it was failing and they don't cover anything like that that's outside the walls of the house. So, that was unfortunate.

    Sirius didn't try to sell me anything crazy. The plumbing guys really haven't done anything. The first time we had to have the AC repaired this year, they were trying to sell stuff. In the end, we were able to just have something repaired. The one challenge with the warranty though is that if you have to have a major system replaced, you get a discount. If the air conditioner failed completely to the point where it would have to be replaced, they wouldn't pay for that. They're not made for big expense claims.

    The air conditioner was engaging but not going and I did the claim online. American Home Shield's website was extremely simple and I was pleasantly surprised. They scheduled an initial appointment and I informed them that I had a seven-year-old special needs child at home. So, they called me when they had a cancelation. AHS gave me the technician’s name and the time he would arrive, and he was early. So, it couldn't have gone any smoother. The contractor, A-1 Quality Care, did a great job. The technician was extremely knowledgeable and was able to identify the problem quickly. It's been a pleasant experience.     I've been with American Home Shield for a long time and in general, I am very pleased. I just have had one issue, which came up again at this last service call. But once they selected the right provider, it worked out wonderfully. I have a stackable washer dryer and it’s in a closet because we don’t have basements since we’re not living in a house. American Home Shield’s policy is that we have to pull it out, then they will fix it. I have to give them access. So, I gave them access. It’s not built-in and the techs don’t have to take a cabinet apart. They didn’t have to pull it out. It’s very heavy and it’s connected with gas lines. AHS sent someone out and when the guy came, he said he was not pulling it out. Because this noise that I was hearing was not gonna do anything. I’m just concerned about it. And he was right, that noise didn't harm anything.

    This time around was a more involved problem where some of the controls weren't working. AHS assigned me to a first company and I called them first before they came out. I told them they may have to pull the washer dryer out. Maybe they won't. Maybe it's fixable without pulling it out. And they said they don’t pull it out. I told them I would cancel the contract. If I go with a contract with Sears, they would pull it out or me. But this company wouldn’t pull it out. I was put into the retention department. The first person I spoke with found some company and she said they would pull out the washer-dryer. I asked to have a conference call because I didn’t believe it. When the rep called, the company said they were not gonna pull it out. They said she and the rep must have a misunderstanding.

    The rep worked hard to try to resolve this and found another company called Shapiro Appliances and the guy was great. He said he would pull it out. He came and as it turns out, it was a simple thing. You have to press some buttons to reset something, and all was fine. So, we didn’t have to pull it out. In the interim, I had sent photos but the reps couldn’t tell from pictures. But the bottom line was it got resolved this time, because the tech didn’t need to pull it out. If push came to shove, I’m hoping he was who pulled it out. But it was a two-person job because when they installed it, originally, it was two people. Sears mixed up the hot and the cold and they had to pull it out and switch it. And granted, it’s not easy. But that’s the warranty. The Shapiro guy was great. He knew right away what to do and I’m assuming he would have kept his word.

    I’m on the top floor and the air conditioning unit blows directly in a big unit. And it broke. It had to be replaced and I had to pay a little extra for the crane. But it was replaced. AHS honored it. So, I was very pleased. They didn't give me any grief with the air conditioner. They lost money on it but that’s part of the warranty business. You win some and lose some. I get this grief about access with the washer dryer and I'm expecting when if it should break again, that I'll get the same grief. But it got resolved this time fortunately.

    I hate American Home Shield. I'm paying them money each month for nothing at all. I'm looking into changing my home warranty company. They should stop telling customers they are covered in their contract but whenever anything breaks down and you call them, they tell you that they don't cover. They told us that if anything's wrong with my air conditioner and I needed a new appliance, that will be covered in my contract. But when my unit had to be changed, they were only responsible for $1,000 and I was responsible for $2,000. They did not tell me that before I signed that contract with them.

    With my garage door, they told me that they fully covered it. But when my garage door came off the track, they told me that they didn't cover it. I had to pay 200 and something to fix my garage door. When something broke in my toilet tank, they sent someone to my house who just looked at it and said somebody broke it. American Home Shield told me that they didn't cover it. The only good thing I see American Home Shield do for me is when my air needs some freon and their contractor comes to put on it.

    I've been with them for 28 years and I still had to pay $4,000 out of my pocket to get my air fixed. They said they don't cover modification, which I don't know what the modification is. The only reason I kept them was because of my more expensive stuff like my electrical and my units but I don't see any point in keeping them if I still had to pay out of my pocket. Also, they gave me such a hard time about getting it fixed. I'm not gonna stay with them.

    The service seems to take a long time. We went 10 days without hot water and we went over two weeks without air conditioning. After sending in a claim, the contractor right away got ahold of me. But then getting the part and getting it ordered took a while from Home Shield. So it wasn't the contractor. The contractor has been great. American Home Shield is good. There's security that if something happens we know we might have to be inconvenienced, but it's covered. We're very happy we took it out. But sometimes I wish it could be faster.

    The fan of my air conditioning was not going and my house was almost 90 degrees. I called American Home Shield at 11 o'clock on a Sunday and they assigned AC Rescue. At four o'clock I called AC Rescue and they said they're open Monday through Saturday. That's not an AC rescue company. I called American Home Shield and said. How soon can I get somebody out here? The weather is over 100 degrees.” They said, “We're trying to push through.” On Monday morning, I called AC Rescue again, and they told me, “Well, I don't see your email. We'll get somebody as soon as possible.”

    I called American Home Shield and said, “That’s not acceptable. I've been a client for over three years. I pay my claim every month. I need somebody out here today.” The lady kept me on the phone for an hour and I really appreciated that. But she spoke English well and she kept putting me on hold. I said, “I need to escalate this. I cannot live in this house another night with no air.” She finally found A-Us Air and the guy came out so that was perfect. When AC Rescue called back, I told them, “I no longer need your service. You should not call yourself AC Rescue because if you're open Monday through Saturday, that's not a rescue company. Somebody already came out to help me.” The guy was concerned so he came back the next day and he fixed it. But he said there are still some issues he's concerned about. He said that eventually, my system is gonna need to be replaced.

    I was happy with that tech. He was very knowledgeable. I also like the fact that AHS found someone better. But they need to screen their companies a bit better because AC Rescue should not tell people that “I work Monday through Saturday.” I called them on a Sunday. t first, the lady said, “Well, you're gonna have to wait 24 to 48 hours.” I said, “That's not acceptable. It's over 100 degrees here in Texas. I pay my bill on time and I've been a customer for many years. I want somebody to come out today to service me.” And whoever it was, I kept getting transferred.

    The drain for the air conditioner was stopped up. I did a claim on the computer. I'm not a computer guru and everything worked okay. American Home Shield sent me something on the computer saying Service-All would be responding to the call. The guy that came out, Jamie, did a good job. In the past, I had some other people who didn't do too good on some air conditioner work for me. I was not happy with it, but Jamie seems to be knowledgeable. He came and took care of the problem. I would not accept Service-All's call unless Jamie came out because some of the other guys that came out here in the past made a big mess. I've had to get a guy from the coast to come up here and fix my air conditioner finally after Service-All messed it up.

    I had several problems with American Home Shield's plumbing contractor. They are horrible. I have problems with having good plumbers come out. I live in a gated community and it's required that you go through a security guard. You have to have a valid driver's license to drive in for insurance purposes. If you don't, you have to park outside the gate and walk in. For a plumber, they need their truck. American Home Shield was sending out plumbers without a valid driver's license. As a result, it delayed my work for weeks. It ended up being around Easter time. This wasn't the first time. The first time, they were able to work it out.

    It was important that our bathroom be up for our guest. I ended up paying for a one-day plumber privately coming out the pocket to have someone come out that day. American Home Shield just couldn't figure out how to get a plumber in our community that had a valid license. That was the problem. I'm a little indifferent about the service. I started researching other agencies as a result.

    There was also a time when another plumber came out. They were so quick to diagnose the problem and dismiss it as something they can’t handle. I later found out that they didn't do a leak detection to tell us where the leak was. That plumber was just trying to close out the case. They saw water on the floor and thought it was coming from the ground of the garage. We ended up having other plumbers come out to get their opinion outside of the home warranty. They said, “The leak is not coming from the slab. It's in the garage, which we're not allowed to touch. It's coming from the wall and we need to do a leak detection.” I had to go back to American Home Shield and fight with them.

    The ceiling fan quit but the light worked, so I knew that there was power. I filed a claim and American Home Shield sent someone out. I asked if it could be fixed and he said yes but he didn't have the part. It was gonna take about a week to get the part. He came back out about a week and put in the part that he needed. I had to go through a few companies because some of them didn't know when they could be out. The first company that was supposed to be out flat didn't show up. That was for another claim. With the ceiling fan, one company said that they no longer service those, or they don't work with American Home Shield. When I called American Home Shield back, I told them the company they referred said that they no longer are contracted to them and to make sure their contractors are current.

    There’s a breakdown in communication when the contractor doesn't let American Home Shield know that they're no longer doing business with them. The worst incident was the garage door. I called the companies that American Home Shield had referred. The lady said, “We no longer do business with them.” I called American Home Shield again and told them I needed somebody local that could do it. I contacted the number that they gave me. This guy called and said he'd be out on a Friday between 1:00 and 4:00. I made it a point to be here. That day, we had storms. I called him again and asked if he was going to show up. He said, “Lady, I am sitting out here. There's hail. I could try to be there tomorrow, but I'm generally off on Saturdays so that would be a no.” I said, “I need to know now. Can you be here?” He said, “I'm not getting this garage door dented just to get out there to you.”

    Our air conditioner was blowing hot air and we weren’t getting any cold air on the other unit. The contractor checked both of them to make sure they were fine. They were very professional. American Home Shield initially gave us a different company and it was going to be almost 10 days before they could come to our house. I wasn't gonna do that. So I called back American Home Shield and they got us this other company. They were there within three days. Customer service at American Home Shield is very good. They've always been good to us and that’s why I stayed.

    My AC gets nice and cold at night, but then during the day, it does not work. It gets very hot in the house. The AC Plus tech said it's because there's a heat surge and the air doesn't run because it's over-working itself. So he said he was going to clean it out. He did a cleaning on the outside system. I told him to come check the upstairs but he said it was too hot. But there's nothing wrong with the upstairs. It looks fine. After he was done, he said the filter was changed and everything was good. I asked him if there was enough Freon and he said, “Yeah, you got more than enough Freon.”

    A day goes by and the air conditioner is not working. I went outside and the pipes have frozen. I called him the next day but he didn’t answer. He called me that afternoon and said, “Oh, well, you must not have enough Freon.” So I said, “But you told me I had enough Freon.” Then he said, “Oh, well, you're gonna have to pay for Freon. I can't come out until Wednesday.”

    I looked at his reviews and he's a one-man shop. There's no other person but him. The reviews state that he's a 1 or 2 or the highest is a 3. He had the worst customer review. He doesn't come out and if he does come out, he comes out, messes up the system, so he comes back out again so he can get paid by the insurance company. I don't know how American Home Shield has him as a contractor on the list. I had to hire a person on my own to get my air conditioning fixed. I had to pay $200 out of pocket after paying the $75 to American Home Shield for the tech to come out one day and mess up my system on the outside. It was hot as heck but I had to shut my air conditioning off for a day for the pipes to defrost.

    American Home Shield would not send anybody out because AC Plus never closed out the initial work order. I kept explaining to them what he had did and they said, “Well, we can't send somebody else out because he didn't close out the first work order. We have to wait for him to close out the work order and wait for him to come out again.” But I told them that I didn't want him to come out again. He messed up the system. I got so furious. I would never get that guy again to come out here.

    I had a pipe burst and the contractor fixed that. I had to replace dishwasher and the garbage disposal. My plumbing people are excellent. The last plumbing people I had were good people. They come out right away. So I really had no problem with American Home Shield, except the long wait on the phone. Sometimes, I have to wait for an hour before someone gets on the phone. So if I don't call early, like 6 o'clock in the morning or late in the evening, I won't get anybody on the phone. The wait time is ridiculous.

I called American Home Shield, I discussed my issues, they put in a request, somebody called me, and they came and fixed my problem as they usually do. With having AHS, you don't have to worry about a problem. You pay your fee and you get your product or the problem solved in your home. It's beneficial because you didn’t have to worry about a very expensive bill.

    I had the heater element go out in the dryer, then I had a door issue with the microwave. And I did both of them within days of each other through American Home Shield. The tech from Rick's Appliance who worked on the microwave was friendly and he came out two days after I put in the tickets. He saw the issue and he did not have the part with him but on the same day, he went ahead and ordered it from someone else. He drove out and got the whole replacement door for a fairly expensive like mounted microwave. It took about 40 minutes for him to go get it then he came back and fixed our microwave.     There are things that I love about American Home Shield, and there are things that I'm not loving so much. I love their phone system and how they get back to the customers. We don't have to wait in a queue. It says, "You'll keep your place in line, and we'll call you right back." I appreciate the customer service. I also love that after a call, we can give a rating about how the call was. I love that it's so short.

    But my husband is always complaining that we've paid $100 for their contractor to come out, but nothing's getting resolved. An air conditioning guy come out but he couldn't fit through this little attic of ours. We put the air conditioning on yesterday because it was warm in our home. We've never had this where the vents were dripping. I was stumbling about trying to look at the vents, and there was water on the floor. We've never ever had the vents dripping like that. The technician said there was nothing wrong with the system and did nothing so I was frustrated. Then a plumber came but he couldn't do very much. He's coming back and I hope he can fix it.

    For the stove top, a man came over. Our range is gas and the starters were clicking for no reason, and it scares me. A guy was just here and said if one of the gas turners were on, it would be a problem but he also said there was nothing he could do. He's seeing if one of the parts will get covered, but he hasn't gotten back to me. I called American Home Shield and told them it sounds like the ticket has been closed. The rep said it hasn't been closed. Last night, I was checking all of them. There are six burners on top, and I saw one of the little starters was wiggly. I don't think he even looked at each starter. I couldn't get it to stop clicking and was afraid that if we go to sleep, what the heck's gonna happen.

    My dryer wasn't getting hot, my refrigerator kept cutting on and off, and my microwave wouldn't come on. I called American Home Shield over the phone and had no problem getting through. They told me somebody will be out and I will receive the information. I received the information through the email from AHS, and the person that came out contacted me as well.

    When the repair person came, he told me what was wrong with my refrigerator. He attempted to fix the microwave, but it went out again. American Home Shield had to do a repeat order, but before they did that, they just said they were gonna replace the microwave and when the repair person was going to come back out again. The repair person was able to fix my dryer as well. He told me he left my vent unplugged, and the reason why he did that, I needed to go buy a new vent. He was real good.     ATR General Services didn't communicate very well to let us know what was going on. When they first came out, the tech let us know that we needed a new condenser and that it would probably be a few days before we got it after I asked the question. The next technician came out and after they ordered the part, he was having a hard time getting it in. He said that the condenser fan motor didn't fit the make and model of the unit, but didn't let us know how long it would be before they got back to us. We weren't happy with their service at all. I had just gotten out of surgery a week before and it was too hot. So, we had someone else do the condenser.

    AHS had three options. They had an option for a new service request, the second option was for an AHS representative, and the third one was for the technician. There was no way for us to even contact ATR General Services to ask them any questions. That was concerning because I was trying to find out when possibly a new condenser would have been ordered.

    I called American Home Shield for a claim and customer service helped and handled the matter very well. I called on Monday and they said they didn't have anybody they could get right then. They told me they will call me when I would be able to get somebody. They called me on Tuesday and I talked with Pamela's Plumbing on Tuesday afternoon. They said the earliest time they could get here was today, between 9:00 and 1:00. At about 9:15, they were here. Pamela's Plumbing was excellent and they went through everything. I showed them where the spouts were outside and they ran their two lines and unplugged the drain. They had a little problem with the waterspout. They broke it but they replaced everything.     I'm gonna be out about $5,000 to redo the whole bathroom and the experience has been very nerve-racking. I had an issue because of that situation with the AC. It was leaking into my ducting under our mobile home and American Home Shield denied my claim for leakage. A repairman from US Air went to look at the ducting but was too afraid to go under the mobile home. He just wrote it up that it was a rodent tear, but it wasn't. We had to hire another company to come in and give us a quote on it. They found no rodent tear and we had to pay them 80 bucks to tell us that.

    When I called for American Home Shield to come in for the AC, it took forever to get the customer service to understand. They kept telling me, “Your claim is denied. We're not going to fix your ducting.” I said, “No. It’s not with the ducting. It’s leaking." It took me 15 to 20 minutes to try to get them to understand that our AC was a completely different issue from the ducting. Finally, the rep got it. She put in an order for the AC and they sent US Air. This guy from US Air looked at it. He said it needed to be cleaned and American Home Shield would not cover it. It was going to cost me $250. We paid it and he was there for another 20 minutes. He said it would dry up in a couple of days. We checked it in a couple of days, and it was worse. It was spewing water all over the place.

    Finally US Air sent someone out yesterday and the gentleman looked at it. He said, “I’m not even gonna touch it. The electrical box is under water from where the air unit is spewing water. They’re gonna have to come in and replace the coil, which I don’t do." I checked with US Air today, and they told me early this morning, "We need to send in that report.” I said, “Can you please send it immediately so that I can get on with American Home Shield to get this expedited?”

    When I called American Home Shield a couple of hours later, US Air still had not sent them that report. I spoke to the young lady, Amina. She said she was going to make sure that it got there. She was supposed to call me back today at 2:00 to give me an update, but nothing. My husband and I are senior citizens. I told them it’s too hot and I can’t afford for it to continue doing more damage. It's a mobile home and I can’t get my bathroom worked on and the mold out because they won’t touch it until the leak situation is taken care of. Meanwhile, my husband and I taped it off as best we could and I don't know if we've been breathing in that mold.

    But this has been an isolated issue. I’ve been with American Home Shield for 13 years and I’ve never had this nightmare with them. They’ve even replaced my refrigerator. They’ve done other work for me that has worked out perfectly. I would recommend them, as I have recommended many friends, and they have gone with American Home Shield. We can’t afford these repairs and it just cost us $75 every time. They have come through.

    My fan was broken. I filed a claim to American Home Shield and it went fine. The guy from Shaw Electrical came in and saw that the motor was going out. He put in some kind of thing to get a new fan, and they put in the fan. Overall, the technicians that were sent out for our claims were fine, except the first person they sent out for the toilets was highly unprofessional. His name was Ronnie. He had rips all over his clothes. He kinda scared me the way he was dressed. He did seem to know a little bit about toilets, but he really didn't fix the toilets. He figured out there was something that the one toilet needed to be replaced.

    Another guy came and he had to redo everything that he did. I had to call three different times on the one toilet because it wasn't fixed. On the other toilet, Ronnie came and the other guy came, looked at it, and saw that it was the same problem. There was a crack so the water kept leaking out all the time no matter what. So, he replaced the toilet.

    The HVAC unit was not pushing any cold air at all. It services the upstairs. The claims process is relatively straightforward. Once you submit the claim online, they send you a notification that the claim has been received and it's been processed. The next thing you get is a notification. I personally get one via email and text. American Home Shield will send an email that articulates the company that has been assigned the ticket and whether or not it has already been scheduled by the time that email comes out.

    At some point, between when I submit the ticket and I get the email from American Home Shield, I've gotten a call from the company and they already scheduled something. So sometimes, they'll send a text that says, "Somebody's working on your case. The company is going to call you. This is the company that's going to call you and the phone number to call the company if you want to do so proactively." Then usually, the company calls within hours, unless it's already late in the day and they call the next morning. They schedule a time to come out and fix whatever issue. The contractors have been great. They seem to be knowledgeable and they managed to fix the issues oftentimes within less than an hour they were out.

    Each time I've had an issue, it's usually the companies that can't come out fast enough. But sometimes, you have to be understanding. I live in Texas. If you have an AC issue and we have 100 degrees, it's an emergency. But everybody else has an emergency. So you want to be the first guy that they get to. Unfortunately, you're probably number 150 and they eventually get to you. So I've been very patient with the process. But I've been happy with the experience with American Home Shield. They've been great.

    I had a problem with two of my bathrooms. One of the problems was the faucets were old and one of them had come off. The plumber that AHS sent out said the problem was beyond his scope and that it had to be handled by a company that works with older homes. He said, “My buddy works with older homes, and he can come out here in the hour.”

    At that point, it wasn't through American Home Shield anymore. But this plumber had his buddy come out and this other guy said, “You've got water behind the wall. I can open a claim with your insurance company right away, and we can have this fixed.” It ended up that my insurance company sent out another investigator and it was a fraudulent problem that took about two weeks to resolve. But American Home Shield wasn't directly involved. I'm overall a satisfied customer and I plan to continue with the policy. You just can't use AHS if you have something that needs to be fixed immediately. If you have a problem, that could be resolved in five to seven days.

    American Home Shield has a seamless and straightforward claims process. I was able to go online and figure out pretty quickly how to do that. The only thing that was slightly confusing was what was covered.     Here's what you can expect when it's 100 degrees outside and your air conditioning breaks. 1. Call AHS, wait on hold for an hour. 2. Pay $100, wait for their referred contractor to call. 3. Contractor says, "We can come out in 2 weeks." 4. Call another contractor (ours came out in 24 hours). 5. Call AHS back, wait on hold for another hour. 6. Ask to cancel the service call. 7. Argue about refunding the $100. 8. Ask for reimbursement for the work done. Yeah, good luck. 9. Ask to cancel the warranty for a refund. Sure, but the cancellation fee is almost as much as the refund. Not worth it, STAY AWAY.

    Our fridge broke and we booked a service, but AHS' low-bid contractor failed to show up 5 times in 2 weeks with ZERO communication; after a while we had to switch providers. We requested the original contractor be blacklisted but I doubt that happened. We repeatedly requested a phone follow-up from AHS, but they never called; we had to call & even then they didn't help. Every time I called, I had to wait to get connected to someone overseas who could do nothing but book another service appointment or "elevate" the matter to their supervisor. When I spoke to the supervisor, they just said there's nothing they could do.

    We lost hundreds of dollars' worth of food and had to spend even more since I couldn't store food in the fridge to feed the family. AHS simply didn't care, so we had to switch contractors and got someone to finally fix the fridge. I asked for compensation for our time and for the food wasted, but they offered nothing. In fact, they charged the deductible twice! It would have been fair to have the previous year's fee refunded because of the awful service.

    I think one of the worst parts of working with AHS is the customer service model. The agents were nice, but they're overseas and have absolutely no power to fix complex problems or to give any kind of superior service. AHS charges a lot of money for their plans and the service has to improve drastically to be even close to worthwhile. In total, I spent over 25 hours on the phone dealing with AHS and trying to get my fridge fixed. That's a lot of time wasted. At the end of this saga, I tried to cancel my membership and get a refund, and the agent did not make it easy, even after I explained that I was dissatisfied with the company.

    Repeatedly, I asked to speak with someone at corporate HQ in Memphis, and I even called their local number, but all I got is the same old overseas call center. The agents claimed they "could not" talk to corporate, either via phone or email, which I didn't believe. How could a corporation not have a communication channel back to their HQ from overseas business centers? That's just poor management. There's no corporate accountability or responsibility to be a truly exemplary model of timely customer service as they claim. AHS, you must do better.

    It took too long to get through a rep. But once I got the live body, I was able to do what I needed. I had two different issues that required two different contractors. I had a new coil and then I had a hole in the Freon line. Tey changed up the coil, charged it with Freon, but nobody realized there was a hole in the Freon line. They had to come back out and solder that, and then recharge the system. It’s worked great ever since.

    The door on the oven had shattered. The contractor did a video on my stove and they said they would give me a new door. But I'm dissatisfied with AHS because I had some problems with them. Someone called me back and they said that they told him that somebody busted it. That was not true at all. That stove has never been used. I told the rep, "I don't know who told you that, but the last report I got was that they were gonna give me a new door." She said that she would check into it further. But I haven't heard from her.

    I put in a claim for the refrigerator. I had flashing lights and the water and the icemaker didn't work. I recently bought this property and I didn't have a filter. The filter was down low rather than the filter that I had had in my previous refrigerator had been up in the refrigerator compartment. But this one was down below the door level. So I hadn't even known that there was a filter down there. But the contractor that came out showed me and they gave me the number of the filter to order, which I did. Then I put the filter in. I had trouble getting the filter in but I still didn't have the water and the ice. Then I had a problem that the dishwasher had died. The contractor pulled out the dishwasher and there was a part in it or something that had melted. The tech said they would recommend that I get a new one.

    I got the email from American Home Shield that said, “Select your dishwasher.” I recently had knee replacement surgery so I haven't been on top of all of my to-do list. When the contractor was here for the dishwasher, they told that I would have to put another request in for the refrigerator. I did that and it's been assigned to the same company, but I have not heard back from them yet. Other than that, the guys that came out were fantastic. They were friendly and polite. They were right on time. It was fantastic service.

The only thing is that the website is so limited to the options that I have to let them know what's going on with my problem. With the AC unit, there was no leaking in the options.     I like American Home Shield. I like the idea that I don't have to wait on the phone. I can go online, schedule an appointment, and take care of everything across online.     The company they sent was amazing. It took them four trips because there were a lot of things going on with my air conditioner. It wasn't cooling and they came out on the 22nd of June. We asked them if it was the Freon and they said no. They said the issue was a part that I had to have and I said okay. So they replaced the part and the tech said it was cooling. But the house wasn't cooling. So I called back that evening. My husband has a heart condition and he can't get overheated.

    They came out the next day and they cleaned up the filters and the coils. They told me, “Hey. Look, this is something you can do on your own.” Then they showed me how to do it, which makes it easy on me. The tech said it should work now. But six hours later, the house was hotter inside than it was outside. So I called back and they couldn't come in until the next week because it was a Friday.

    When they came back, the tech said that I needed Freon. I knew the home warranty only pay $10 on Freon. He said I needed at least two pounds of Freon. I asked him how much it would going to be and he said, “Well, for one pound of Freon and the Fix-A-Leak, it was going to be $256.” I started squalling. I had to quit working and we live in a very limited budget. I've just spent $300 on a huge air conditioner window unit so at least I could cool one room. But had they said that I needed Freon when they were here twice, I wouldn't have bought the window unit. I would have just put my husband in a hotel for a couple of days. So I was devastated.

    The tech told me, “I can put a pound in if that's okay. And then if it works, it works. But you need two pounds at least and you need the Fix-A-Leak. I can't guarantee it’ll work.” I told them to put the Freon in but it did not work. They were gone for about an hour and the coils began to ice up. But they were very honest, professional and kind. But when someone keeps saying, “Are you sure?” The system's from 1967. We've lived here 10 years and there's only been Freon put in it one time. So Freon should have been checked but it wasn't. But it's okay. I resolved the issue myself. It certainly wasn't American Home Shield's fault. They understood that they needed to get here and try and resolve it. I didn't get the resolution I needed, but they still had really good service.

    I initially had a lot of issues with American Home Shield. My outside air conditioner stopped working and they sent a contractor out. The contractor diagnosed the issue as a piece inside the house where the air and everything was being defective. We were waiting and I was calling asking where the part was. It kept going and going. Finally, I reached out to the gentleman who put that unit in for me about 10 years ago and he was very suspicious of the contractor's diagnosis since that part very rarely ever goes bad. Techs came back and looked at it. It was in fact the outside unit that was bad and not the piece inside the house.

    The issue went over three months. Finally, American Home Shield ignored me. I paid someone to fix the air conditioner and went back to the home warranty and told them to give me my money back. That wasn't smooth and I ended up having to sue them. After they got notice of the suit, all of a sudden they wanted to talk to me which was fine. But that was what I had to do to get their attention.

    After that initial bad experience, everything else went smoothly. I had two different things I needed to be fixed. American Home Shield was professional. They took the claim and it got assigned to somebody. I then got an email telling me who it was assigned to and it went well. I talked with the contractor on the phone before they came out. I was comfortable that they were professional and knew what they were doing. The initial issue was in one room where there was a Mitsubishi-style system and it wasn't working. The techs ended up having to replace the whole unit because they couldn't get parts to fix the one piece that wasn't working. In another room, I had the same type of system. They were able to get parts to fix that one.

    The dishwasher that we have is falling apart and we've replaced many things on it. Over the last month or so, the heating element wasn't heating up and that rendered the hot water not working. The techs replaced the heating element then there were all kinds of problems. They replaced the motherboard then a knocking sound started to happen and we don't know what that knocking sound is. And a piece of trim is falling off for the second time on the top. We're able to do the dishes, but it's not where we want it to be. We paid a good amount of money for this and it hasn't even lasted for more than a year and two months. But Diaz and Sons has been very good. They've been coming back and forth trying to fix it, ordering those parts, and trying to put it back together. American Home Shield has been very responsive, too.

    I love American Home Shield. They're great. I've been with them throughout my whole entire life. Every house we had, we had them. The best part of having them is their reliability. When something breaks, you know they're there to back you up and to help you and provide everything that you need to possibly get the job done to whatever it is that you called it on.

    Air Dynasty came out because of our air conditioning. We have a two-story home but a one-ton unit. The dampers have motors in them to where it's like when the bottom is cooling off, it closes up to release the cool air to the top. One of the motors had broke or wouldn't open the damper, so they had to replace that motor to have the AC flow to each part of the house.

    I didn't like the first tech that came out. He only checked one and gave us advice about the filters that we should put. I knew that that was sort of wrong because when you’re putting those filters in, you’re trapping your air and you’re cluttering up your AC because the air doesn't have anywhere to go. The second tech came out and said exactly what we thought that it was just blocking the air and clogging up the passageway of our thing. He sat us down and gave us pictures by pictures of the airflow throughout the house and the roof. He was a better person to show us what we needed. Overall, AHS' customer service is excellent. They get on the job right then and there before I can hang up. That person who they assigned to me is already calling me before I can even hang up the phone.

    I had a situation with my washing machine that took quite a while. It had something to do with the control switch. The tech diagnosed that and he had to get approval. A month or so into the process, the contractor called and said, “Okay, we got the part.” We rented a washing machine because it got to the point that it was a little lengthy. Other than that, the tech was great and they saved me some money. We're grateful. The washing machine is up and running now.

    Also, we have a rental property and there was a service call regarding the roof. They charged me $100 but I never really heard from anyone. I called back in and AHS said, "Okay. We’ll follow up with the person." But I still never heard anything. AHS's service call fee is a little high too. Everybody else is $55.

    The first plumber called and said they could do the job. Then they came and couldn't do it. I called AHS and argued with one of the reps there saying that, "The techs diagnosed the problem and you're gonna have to pay another $100 to get somebody else." I said, "They didn't diagnose the problem. I told them what the problem was." That went back and forth for a long time. I even told them that there were some mold and it needs to be cut to the drywall. When they got here, they couldn't do that. But they tell me they diagnosed the problem and they got the $100 for saying they did that. That's a flat out lie. Finally, they called the first plumbers to say, "No. We don't want to come back." So they ended up giving me the plumber I wanted for the second choice and they did a good job.

    AHS should get people who know American culture and some language. It's hard to to get someone who knows how to talk English and to whom you won't repeat yourself. I can't work that way sometimes. So I hang up.

    Every time I call in, I always have to pay a large sum of money to get something repaired. Whenever I explain what I wanted to have done, as a consumer, I don't understand it. That's why when I called them, I explained what I wanted to do. I said, “I want my AC to be covered. I want my hot water heater to be covered.” I want it to make it to where if I have any repairs, I'm not going to be out of pocket. And they said, "No. We cover the AC. We cover this. We cover that.”

    So at the time that it's time to get stuff done, people are coming out and it just comes out to be that they only cover the bare minimum, which leaves me as a consumer with a cost. My hot water heater was an additional $600. I had to replace my AC unit, which was $6,000 and American Home Shield only gave me $1,000 towards that. They were going to fix it. I could have fixed the problem and it still would have cost me $2,000. And it would only have been warrantied for 30 days. And if it went out again, that would have been another $2,000 or I could have made the decision to go ahead and replace the unit because it was so old.

    One of the things AHS says is, "If we can't fix it, we'll replace it." My AC unit at this time was so old that it was patching it. And I understand they gotta be in the market to make money. But living in Texas with the extreme heat that we have here and the issue that the AC was having, it was better to replace it. I made the decision to go ahead and replace it versus keep throwing money at an old unit. So, I'm not pleased with it.

    I've had other small issues and there were no issues with them. But when it comes to the larger issues, that if I just took the payment that I was making, the months I've never used the warranty, I would have had the money to pay for my AC unit straight up.     When I reported that the microwave was down, the service guy that was supposed to come out and look at it took forever to come out, and I was having to call him. Finally, I got him in to look at it. He was there five minutes and he left. We got our email in to pick our new microwave. We did that. They told me it was going to be delivered. When the delivery guy got here, he said he was just here to deliver it and not to install it. So, I have a brand new microwave sitting in my garage right now. When I contacted American Home Shield last week about it, they said that the guy who delivered it was supposed to install it. On the call before that, the service guy that had to come out was supposed to install it. I called him for a week and he would not answer my calls, he would not call me back, and would just send me directly to voicemail.

    So, I called American Home Shield again. They told me that the guy who delivered it was supposed to install it. Then they said they were going to send out an order and I would hear back from them within 24 hours either with a call or by email. I haven't received either one, and this was last week. I'm very upset. It's been a month now that we've been without a microwave, and American Home Shield has been great up until last week when I still have not heard from anyone. Overall, their customer service has been amazing, except for this latest incident.

    There was a blockage down in the pipe. We did everything we could first before we called American Home Shield. But my husband couldn't get that snake thing to work to go all the way. The contractor had a little more powerful than what we were trying. The tech that came out was really knowledgeable. When I had a hot water heater issue, American Home Shield sent someone out here the next day and started getting things resolved. They got me a new hot water tank in. I've also had to get a new washing machine through American Home Shield. So it's been a great experience for me.

    I had a service request for the dishwasher and the GE people who came for that did the work. I had another claim for the garbage disposal where the techs came and installed a new one. But it's not working and they said AHS needs to send an electrician to get it working, which they haven't done yet. I paid them the 100-something dollars and it's been about two months now.

    Ryan, the tech, confirmed that there was nothing wrong with my AC, which I thought was the case, but it's been so hot recently. It was an excess amount of condensation. Ryan ended up looking at both units, and I was very pleased with him. My wife also said she would have felt comfortable being at home, if I weren't here, with Ryan. He didn't give off any weird vibes, and he was knowledgeable and looked at you when he talked to you. He seemed like a person you could trust.

    I've had American Home Shield for eight years now and have always had really good service. This is the third house I've had, and I heard horror stories when I moved here to Elizabeth City eight months ago. When I say horror stories, it's regarding people having to come down from Virginia, and you don't always get the best service. Other people have had issues with it, and I said, “Well, I've never had a problem, so I'm using American Home Shield.” The first time I needed them, I was a little apprehensive making a call because of what I'd heard. But Ryan came right out, and we were very happy with it. So I will be renewing my policy within the next week. It expires the end of this month, and I'm getting a lot of notices from AHS that it's time to renew.

    I have used American Home Shield several times with only one area being a challenge. Earlier this year, my built-in microwave needed a repair. There were several contractors assigned, but none of them would do work with American Home Shield because there were unpaid bills apparently. It took probably 60 days or more to get it fixed. But usually, anytime that I've had to get service has been fairly quick. I usually have a contractor assigned that day and the contractor gets in touch with me within 24 to 48 hours. I renewed the contract so it can't be all that bad.

We bought a house and the pool heater wasn't working for the previous owner. So, we were trying to get it looked at. I filed the claim and somebody called me, and then I haven't heard anything since.     My wife called and set up a service request for our AC. The biggest challenge is, in our area, it seems to be difficult to find a vendor, so it took several days to find one. It was a little warm for eight days, and we're not used to that weather up here in the mountains. Other than that, the vendor that came out was great. They took a look at the system, diagnosed what the issue was, and fixed it. They had to replace one part and they had it with them. They were done in 20 minutes.

    I had a leak in the bathroom. I had a good experience with the rep and the contracting company. They cut through the drywall and looked if there was a leak in the wall. It was the toilet for the line that goes into the wall. So, they replaced that. AHS is good. Things get taken of in a timely manner.

    My dishwasher was filled with water, but it wouldn't drain. I called American Home Shield and I had two contractors come out. Sears was my first, and they set the appointment and came just like they said. It was only a couple of weeks. They came pretty fast, and there was no problem with them other than they couldn't get all the parts for the dishwasher. There were three parts that were going to be replaced, but the main one was the master circuit control. Sears informed me that they couldn't get that part, but I had to call to find out when I didn't hear from them. Sears was very good, but we didn't have a dishwasher for almost three months by the time it was all finished. American Home Shield gave me a Lowe's voucher for $725 to get another dishwasher.

    I like American Home Shield. I had them in the past and they've always been very good. They're better now because years ago they would prorate your dishwasher and give you an amount based on the prorated price. For example, if you had it two years, they would give less. This time, they just gave me the exact amount for that particular dishwasher. So they changed their policy on that.

    I told my stepfather that he needs to get American Home Shield for his house, and he's going to do that. I heard about American through some people as well. I used to have a business at the airport, and they're the ones who told me about it. They were fabulous with them, so I went with them too and it's always worked for me. I don't know that you save a lot of money because you're paying them $100 to come out then you're paying that monthly fee. So it averages out. We're about even now. I didn't have to lay out a lot of money for the other dishwasher.

    The tech who came for the washing machine-dryer combination was great and American Home Shield's service has been good. Like most people, I don't like to get a whole lot of marketing emails. But in the case of AHS, I would like to see a few more emails marketing-wise such as suggestions for maintenance. I saw a couple of years ago that they were running some type of special deal on air conditioning maintenance. Most people let their air conditioners go but most of their appliances go until they won't. There could be a major cost involved or they might even need to be replaced. But that could have been avoided with maybe regular or better maintenance. So one of the things that I saw that one time was a great idea. It saves AHS money in the long run and it's less hassle for us because no one wants to deal with a totally inoperative appliance, especially air conditioning. But I haven't seen it since so that's too bad.

    Every time I call, American Home Shield sends out Doctor Cool. When the upstairs air conditioning had a low flow, the technician did his inspections and he found the service valve was leaking and there was no coolant. So he had to put coolant in. He also resealed the service valve and then did the temperature check at the registers. Everything was fine. Before he left, he said, "Let it run. If anything happens, give us a call. We'll come back out." But it's been fine.

    American Home Shield addressed the problems I had and took care of them. We had the hot water heater go bad. It was leaking. The technicians were good. They had sent the wrong water heater the first time. It was a natural gas water heater. We are way out in the boonies and it should have been propane. The wrong thing was installed, but Home Shield was on top of it. When we had them come back out, the techs realized what they had done and they corrected it. Home Shield insisted they put a brand-new one in and not just repair the one they had sent wrong. So, it was a good experience. We did not have to pay anything, too.
