    I had some condensation leakage in my AC. I did a claim the first time online. When it reoccurred within a week, I called a representative. The person was a little hard to understand but overall, it was good. The person was quick and very attentive. Nicholas was the tech that came out the first time and he was a good dude. He showed me what was going on. When I had the reoccurring issue, he came back and showed me it was something related but different. He cleaned everything up and everything's good. Home Shield is working for me and I would recommend them. I had a different company before and they were garbage.

    I tried to get ahold of a person on the phone but it was impossible. I had a hard time navigating their online platform at first but I started getting responses and they were very communicative. They did a fantastic job. The techs did their research and due diligence for the washer and dryer. When it wasn't repairable, AHS had a check for the amount they felt it was worth. They also fixed the icemaker and the dishwasher. I'm inclined to have my mother keep the warranty next year when it lapses and I'm thinking about picking it up myself.

    My son uses American Home Shield all the time. I have three houses, and I've had it for two years. I’m also debating if I'm gonna use them for my fourth house. I used it on a house in Pittsburgh where my mother lives and she was very happy. They straightened out the refrigerator and the dishwasher. I just used the warranty on my New York house too. Nice Air Conditioning was nice. The first guy before that, Ace, was no good. He was supposed to call and my tenant was waiting, but he never called. I called him. He said, “Oh, well, I was busy.” I was like, “Excuse me.” He told American Home Shield that he canceled because my tenant spoke Spanish, but that wasn't the reason. The reason was that I told him, "It ain’t professional for you not to show up." On the other hand, the Nice guy was very good. He called, showed up and fixed the issue.

    We purchased a townhome condominium a little over two and a half years ago. The first year we owned it, it came with a prepaid one-year warranty that the previous owners had purchased through American Home Shield. When that expired, I decided I would take it on myself because we had a couple of issues that we found throughout the first year, and American Home Shield was very responsive. We were fairly happy with it so I stayed with it. When I put in a work request, I get a response quickly. The workmanship of some of the vendors had left a lot to be desired so I have had to call back a couple of times. Largely, my issues were addressed. In one case, after two times with this one particular vendor, I told American Home Shield not to send that same person out, and they didn't. They sent someone else and they fixed the problem.

    American Home Shield has saved us some headaches though the reverse is also true because each time I do a service call, I have to pay a fee. This last issue I had, it was just a matter of turning a screw so I felt like an idiot. There I was, paying this money out and somebody showed up. In 30 seconds, they fixed it with the turning of a screw.

    I had a leaky faucet and when I tried to get through to American Home Shield, it was way easier than it was in the past where you had to wait a whole hour before somebody comes on. The contractor they sent out was very good and a complete professional. Most of my family members already got AHS once that I recommended. But I would tell them to go with AHS.     I had some issues with my dishwasher and microwave and my washer. I made a claim online to American Home Shield, paid the deductible and they sent a third company out. The company never dispatched anyone so after five days, I called them and they scheduled someone to come out immediately. They were able to fix the washer. They ordered a part for the dishwasher, which needed a control panel but my microwave wasn't covered under warranty because it was a countertop microwave. I called them back to get someone and asked how much it would be out of pocket but no one followed back up with that, so the microwave is still just sitting. I wish someone would call me back to see if I can get that resolved. It's a $500 microwave, so I wish I can get it fixed. I gotta get a new microwave, it's fine. I just wish that I knew that a $500 microwave wasn't covered under the warranty.

    I've had somebody come out for a refrigerator, and that was fine. I also had a claim for a stove that is doing the same problem that we had before. I called it in today. However, last Thursday, I called about a hot water heater tripping the breakers, and no one has called me since. I've called American Home Shield three times, and they still can't find any help for me. If they're not going to have an appropriate time for service response, they should refund the payment to the person. I should be refunded the $100. I've been sitting here boiling water so I can get a bath because my hot water heater’s not working, and that's unacceptable. They should call their customers within 24 hours to give them a status update as to what's going on.

    My AC was making a loud noise, and I just moved into this place, so I thought, “Oh, well, I need to find out why.” An AC guy came out and said I was hearing the capacitor. He was very nice, and he explained everything to me, which was good. He said the capacitor was gonna eventually stop working. He replaced it and told me that it was a 2019, and it needed an acid wash, which American Home Shield doesn't cover. I said, “Okay, if it requires that, then go ahead and I’ll pay whatever it is for it because I need this unit to work.” He did that and replaced my air filters for me as well. Everything's working good.

    I also had an electrician come out, but I wasn’t happy with him at all. It could have been improved if the guy would have spent, instead of five minutes, telling me my GFI, he didn’t feel there was anything wrong. But he was gonna put in for my bathroom one, and he would have to get those approved by American Home Shield. I thought, “Okay, I have to go buy what he says.” He only clicked them once, and the whole time I was clicking the switch, the GFI kept tripping. I wasn’t happy with that.

    I called the electrical place, and the technician said if I wanted 5 GFIs replaced, it would cost me $225 per GFI to have replaced. I said, “Are you out of your freakin' mind? I work with electric. I know how much they are. So, no.” I sold my property in December and purchased this property. My daughter said, “You need to get a home warranty,” which I’ve never had. I said, “Okay,” then that happened. I got soured, because I thought, “This is why I didn’t have one.”

    American Home Shield has been great. I had a leak and I just made a phone call to let them know what was going on. They walked me through the process, and they scheduled someone to come out. He explained everything very well. The problem ended up being something different. My roof had a leak in it, and the ceiling fell in. I had to go through my home insurance. I also had a plumbing issue, and somebody came out and did that. It’s great having AHS because I don't have to pay a whole bunch out of pocket when they come out to do a service.

    American Home Shield sent 3-D Hoover for the water heater. I had several problems with the water heater. It was installed in 2007 and the last year or so, I've had several problems. This time, it completely cut off and would not re-fire. I've had some air conditioning problems, too and American Home Shield's website wasn’t very user-friendly in that respect but on the water heater, it’s just a single line item. So, you just click one item and it sends in a request for that one thing. The tech told me that the igniter appeared to be bad. We would have to get a new igniter. The water heater's working like it’s supposed to, finally.

    Our AC stopped working. It turned out the motor was defective. The contractor was very good, and very, very professional. But it was hard getting the technician to come earlier. We live in the desert and it was very hot, especially in the summer. If the contractor couldn't make it early, we wish we could have options or a different provider. But not long after I filed my claim, I got a notification of who was assigned, and then they did contact us. Another issue was getting in contact with them initially was kind of tough.

It took them three days to come out but we were right in the middle of a hurricane so it was absolutely incredible. This last experience was very good.     Refrigerator broke, called in a repair. AHS assigned repair to Sears, who subbed it out to another company. Over a week to Diagnose and order parts. Two weeks later parts arrive and they don’t have a tech available. Another week parts were installed and deemed repaired. Next day quits working again. Called AHS to send tech back out. Tech again not available for over a week. Request another company be assigned to complete the repair. AHS requires that I pay an additional service charge to have another company perform a timely repair. Currently waiting over 72 hours for a person at AHS to call me back to resolve the problem. Customer service is obviously outsourced overseas as English is never the first language of the service reps.

    The last repairman that came out was super, but the one before that was a capital A. He came before the time slot that they gave me. It was between 2:00 and 4:00 but he came at 1:00. I had previous errands to run and I was home before 2:00. He left a message saying he was here, but I wasn't here. I needed to call and reschedule. The company sent him back. When he came in, he had an attitude. He looked at the garbage disposal. He pressed the little button underneath. I said, “Maybe we should look at the power source." He muttered something. That didn't sit right with him. He just stood there then took out his cell phone and started taking pictures of the inside of the garbage disposal. He said, “There's something in there.” I had fished around in there with my hands and there was nothing in there. He said, “There's something in there. I can't service this. You can call the company," and left.

    I called American Home Shield and they sent another contracted company. They sent another guy out. He was on time, within the timeframe he said he'd be here. He called before he arrived. He came and fixed the garbage disposal. American Home Shield is sketchy. They're responsive sometimes, and sometimes they're not. The contractors that work with the service are not up to par all the time. I'm not sure I want to renew it next year.

    When I was washing clothes and it gets to spin cycle, the machine would get out of balance. It would come back with a UB code on the screen. The washing machine would drain and refill itself, trying to balance the load and try to spin. It would cycle through that twice, and then it would eventually shut itself off. I called American Home Shield and the technician came out. He looked at the washing machine and said it was under warranty. He gave me a number to call and I called Samsung. They thought the problem was a different issue, so they sent me brackets for the top of the washing machine.

    When the guy came to put those brackets in, he said, “These are the wrong brackets.” So I called back American Home Shield and said that the recall to Samsung was the wrong thing. The dispatcher figured out what the problem was. It needed four rods that were vertical instead of horizontal. When the technician came, he brought the brackets out and put them in. He was great. For now, the machine works fine.

    American Home Shield has done good. With all warranty contracts, there are always stipulations and/or certain things that sometimes we have to fight a little harder for to get approved. On one of my claims, I had to fight for a minute on them. But it's more of just an inconvenience of having to have a second opinion come out, and do another appointment time where I got to figure out another time for a babysitter. Which is sometimes annoying, but as long as the problem gets fixed, it hasn't interrupted too much of my life. I have had a couple jobs that if I would have probably had to pay some out of pocket, it would have cost me more than having my warranty for the year. So, it has been beneficial in a couple of instances so far.

    I had a leak coming out of my refrigerator. I also had a problem with the microwave. AHS provided a company that came out and repaired our refrigerator and the microwave. However, the refrigerator just kept leaking after that. But a GE gentleman came out and he definitely took care of it. I haven’t had any problems with the refrigerator ever since. AHS is a good company.

    I called American Home Shield because of some AC issues. A technician came and said there was nothing wrong. It just needed a little bit of temperature adjustment and it was working. It was a mechanical thing. When we initially had another technician come out, they said a whole bunch of things were wrong with the air conditioning unit because it was really hot and they didn't make us drop the thermostat way down, which this technician did. Clearly, there was no issue except adjusting the temperature downwards. We had to lower the thermostat considerably more than the previous company technician told us to do. Once that happened, the AC started working.

    This whole AC thing was a breeze. The plumbing claim I had, on the other hand, was awful. I had family and visitors from overseas and having a non-functional one bathroom was an extreme inconvenience. American Home Shield said I had to deal with the plumbing company they assigned me to, which didn't respond to us for three months constantly. We left voicemails and messages and they wouldn't get back to us. American Home Shield wouldn't cooperate and give us a new plumbing company.

    Their manager or supervisor said, "I can't do anything beyond just holding your breath and waiting for the company to get back to you." Three and a half months into it, I was so frustrated. I'm like, "Would you guys not ever consider taking the insurance money? You are always willing to take that, but my service request has been delayed by over three months." They kept saying they couldn't do anything. After many calls, I was able to find a cooperative representative of American Home Shield who switched me to another plumbing company. They brought the wrong part. That aside, we got our bathroom functional after four and a half months into this nightmare.

    The refrigerator was six years old and it was working fine. One night, the condenser must have stopped 'cause in the morning, everything inside was lukewarm. When we called LG to try to troubleshoot it, I couldn't get an official answer from them. So I called American Home Shield and they called their certified technician who came out to do a test and told us that the condenser was broken. He was awesome. He called before he came. The part took a bit longer than he expected. He called and gave me an update on that as well. He made the assumption that it would come in late Friday, which it did. We booked an appointment for the service. He showed up as scheduled. American Home Shield is very responsive. When I called in the complaint, they told me that $85 would be reimbursed after it was verified that it was covered. I have yet to get that reimbursed.

    I used American Home Shield when my stove went out on September 20th. They finally made the delivery yesterday. The delivery company called us out of the blue and said, "We have a scheduled pickup tomorrow at this time," but I had an appointment that I had been waiting for for two months at the doctor, and I couldn't change the doctor's appointment. I was uneasy about that because I didn't have any type of communication until the day of delivery. When the guy unpacked it, he noticed there was a huge dent on its side. But I told him that I still wanna keep it because we haven't had a stove, and we were living off an air fryer and microwave with three kids. But he said, "No, we can't because it's against our policy." So they had to reorder it. That was the only hiccup I was having with American Home Shield.

    American Home Shield is great. It's just this last situation has been very grueling. American Home Shield is very, very prompt. When you call them, they will make sure that your service is taken care of even if there's a wait time. In some cases, the technicians came out the following day and fixed everything that I've had problems with.

    The AC wasn’t cooling nor blowing well and my outside unit was making some noise. Camaire, the contractor, came out and it went great. The guy said the motor was going out and he got it fixed. We've had American Home Shield for years. I like that they’re able to cover everything that we have issues with and it’s been nice. It pays for itself. For the most part, the contractors they’ve sent out are good. I’ve had a few that I don’t want to use again but I try to make note of the ones that I like.     The contractor that came out for the AC unit that wasn't working was efficient. However, I've been waiting for six months for my oven to be repaired. They took a part out of the oven because when we put it on boil, it wouldn't turn off of boil. They said there was a problem in the electronic connection. They took somebody out here who serviced us. He diagnosed what was wrong and let them know. They sent him back out here to take the part out and send it to them to get repaired but they never returned it. If it's not done soon, I'm gonna cancel my policy with American Home Shield.

    When I renewed American Home Shield last, it was about 500 and then this year, it went up to about 900. It got too expensive. Just as American Home Shield was about to expire, the AC started having an issue. So, I renewed it for one more month to make sure that we're covered and I was gonna cancel after that since the AC is fixed now. AHS had been very efficient and when I submit a claim, I'm already getting calls to have somebody come out and fix stuff immediately. AHS is a good service and I was appreciative that I had it. I renewed it that second year and then the water heater went out, and then the stove. I got my money's worth out of it. We used it several times this last year but you almost get penalized for using the service that you have. It’s just not cost-effective. If it was a couple of $100 less, it might be more feasible.

    I've had American Home Shield for a year and I just continued it. I hardly ever call them. I called them once a few years back on my hot water heater. Recently, I came home and my AC wasn't working right. I looked outside, and the pipes were frozen. So, I turned the AC off. There were two guys that came out. The first time, I had one of the repair guys. He was a nice guy. Everything was okay with him. All he did was diagnose the problem and said, "You need more Freon but I don't have any. I ran out. So, somebody will call you back in two or three." Somebody called me back was five days later. I was low on the R-22 stuff, and that was what caused the pipes to freeze. He said he would put more freon in it, and they would put some sealant in there. They did that and it worked for three days, but the same thing is wrong with it again.

    The problem I had with the guy was trying to call and talk to him. The phone would just ring, it would go to voicemail, and it was full so I could never leave a message. I went on their website, I sent him a note, and they responded within days after that. I realized it was hot, so they got a lot of customers. The second time when they came out and did the work, it was the owner of the company that came out, and he was fine.

    I had an issue with the actuator for the refrigerator. The tech said that that's a common issue with the refrigerator.     We couldn't get the dishwasher to work and the guy came in and he was thorough. He checked everything and ran it through a short cycle to make sure everything was working right. He fixed the issue and gave us a few recommendations and suggestions. He did a wonderful job. The dishwasher works great and we’ve washed dishes three times.     I've had both good and bad problems. A year ago, the compressor on my fridge went out, and the technician came out within about a week, but overall, I was down a couple of weeks with no refrigerator. About half of it was with American Home Shield. They kept trying to tell me it was under warranty, and it was not. That delayed it about a week. Also, the techs always make two trips. One, to come look at something, then they have to order parts, and then come back, and it was about a week to 10 days later on that. I’ve had two more service requests as well. One was on a stove, and it was acceptable, but again, I was without a stove. The last one was on a clothes dryer, and the fellow that did the repair was very good.

    I've used AHS a couple of times and they're fantastic. I had another company sometime back and it turned out to be a total joke. But with American Home Shield, I haven't had any problems. The times that I've made claims, the techs took care of the problems quickly and there had been no argument about what they needed to do. In my house in Texas, I had to have a water heater replaced then I had a shower drain that backed up. At another time, there were sink drains that backed up. I have them now at the Tennessee house where I just moved in and they told me when I applied for the service that they have a benefit of rekeying your house. So I called them yesterday and they're sending somebody out to rekey my doors. They've been perfect so far.

AHS called another company, and that was fine, but the other company that fixed my garbage processor in the sink told me the home warranty company only approved a specific item. It was not a good item, and the repair man told me he had to make some adjustments to put the item they approved. He also told me they had a better item than the one AHS approved and that we didn't have to fix anything. They just put it over there.

    At that moment, I accepted that because it was already removed from the sink, but I asked the repair man, “What if I don't want it?” “Oh, we don't put anything.” I paid an extra $100 for that, plus the $75 I paid to the insurance. Right now, the last two requests I made, American Home Shield was not very fast, but it was because of the parts. About a year ago though, I had a problem with my washer. The company came and checked, and they told that the parts were on order, but they never came to fix it. I had to buy a new washer, and American Home Shield gave me $250. It was not good. I'm not happy with the insurance.

    I only had one issue a year ago with a contractor that American Home Shield had sent to the same property. And the contractor was dishonest because they did not submit the paperwork that they needed to submit on time. And that costed me nearly $700 because I had to buy a new washer. And I had to call AHS four times to figure out when the problem would be resolved. I've called service out, for that property and another property in New Mexico a total of four times. I will look closely to see who they would send if I were to have an issue with my washer again not to get that contractor because that particular contractor was dishonest.

    Recently, the AC would come on, and a few seconds later, it would trip out. Affordapro came out one day last week. But in June, I had a similar problem and another company came out. They flushed the line and said it worked. And that worked for a bit. Last week, it started happening again. So, I contacted AHS, and they sent another contractor out. They were very prompt and helpful.

    When it was time for us to renew, we got a call from someone representing them saying that if we renewed, the cost would be at a certain price. There was a $125 discount for renewing if I did it then. I said I would wait until I go home and see if that discount still applies so I did and we paid the discounted price. But a month or two later, we got an invoice for the $125 difference. When we disputed that, it was questioned. They're trying to bait and switch and make you pay the full price for it and I didn't appreciate that at all. They subsequently came back and gave the discount but don't offer customers something and then try to take it back.

    Also, having that $100 fee upfront without knowing what the problem is with something is a little steep. When we called for the second AC repair, I had to pay $100 to get the guy out there, but it turns out that the fan setting had been reset to the "always stay on" mode and it wasn't circulating that moisture out of the house. Other than that, everything's been fine so far.

    The contractor came out to see why our dryer wasn't drying. They did a good job. There was a bird's nest in the dryer vent. They pried open the vent thing, on the exterior of the house. The tech said he couldn't touch it because it was technically on the exterior of the house, but it was easy enough to do. The dryer has been working fine after that.

    I had one experience with the washing machine that was not good. We had a technician come out and he failed to diagnose it. He fixed a bunch of parts that didn't fix it. Then when the issue came back, we requested a different technician, but American Home Shield sent the same guy. He still didn't fix the washing machine, and then we just bought a new one. So I was kinda upset about that one. I would recommend American Home Shield as a warranty company but they should vet their service people a little bit better.

    Last spring, the radiators in the basement were not giving off any heat so we had someone come look at them. The first guy that came out was hilarious. He asked what he was there for and I told him it was to try and get our furnace lit. We have a boiler and he said he didn't do boilers. He got on the phone with the office person. He then told me someone was gonna be calling me back because they needed their boiler person to come out. Someone called me back and was really nice about it. She was worried about getting someone out right away. She thought that it was gonna be a long time before they could get somebody out. But she said their boiler person had a cancellation so he would come out.

    He came a couple of days later and he was awesome. He asked, “Do you know why the call was transferred to me?” I said, “Because we have a boiler and not a furnace.” He goes, “I don’t understand that at all. Lighting a furnace is no different than lighting a boiler. They have all the same parts in them for that.” This guy took tons of time and went through everything for me. He tracked down where all of our lines go and told us what was wrong with the one that was not heating.

    I hate the fact that I have to pay money for this American Home Shield's service and still have to pay $100. I would not continue the service past the year. We have a three-stall garage in this house. We called American Home Shield and said the electricity was not working over here. An electrician came out and dug in the walls and said somebody cut the wire to it. I asked if he could fix it and he said he didn't know. American Home Shield would not pay to get the lighting going in that other stall. We had to pay the 100 bucks for the electrician to come out to tell us somebody cut the wire and American Home Shield won’t fix it.

    With my furnace claim, the tech was very professional. He came on time, did his job, and was very helpful. But American Home Shield forced me to either fix the water heater myself or wait in the middle of the winter for two to three months without water heater. That left a sour note for myself and my family. So, I left AHS for six months. I was going to replace them with Sears program. They are more diversified. But some people told me that AHS is the biggest in their field. I see that they added some technology for customer service. They have increased their price. I pay $110 a month and $100 per visit. A bit pricey. So, at the end of the year, I will decide whether to continue or not.

    I had a plumbing problem. They just kept sending somebody and kept ignoring me. I kept having to call the service manager and kept getting connected to people in other countries. They said, “I'm gonna fix it right now.” But only when I rated them really bad, did I get somebody to call me back. Then they said, “Your mom's problem is bad. We can't fix that property.” The plumber said that he wasn't going to fix it. Finally, I just hired a plumber on my own. He fixed it and there was no problem ever since.     The claim submission process with American Home Shield is straightforward and easy. The one I did a few weeks ago might have been the first time I've used it. One of my toilets wasn't flushing but it wasn't clogged. So, I decided to try myself to replace the mechanism that's in the back tank. I've done that before but it just wasn't right and I decided to put in the request. I immediately got a text telling me what company was assigned to it and that they would be getting in touch with me within 24 hours to schedule, which T Mayes did. They were able to fit me in quickly and were out within a couple of days. The technician was great and polite. I showed him the bathroom and explained what was going on, and he got to work. It was a quick fix. It wasn't a major plumbing issue and it wasn't gonna be a big deal for somebody who knew what they were doing.

    There's a little piece of tubing that goes right to your toilet and it's only 6 inches long and I told him that when I turn the water off, it seems like that mechanism’s old. He said he was just gonna replace that little water line and he went out to the truck to get one and did that. He was very professional. It was late in the day. They were backed up so I'm sure he was efficient all day. But as he was ending his long day with me, he was ready to get it done, and he got it done well.

    A benefit of having the home warranty is the financial security that if something big goes wrong, I'm not paying everything out of pocket. I paid the $100 to have this plumber come out. That was a little job but I don't know what it would have cost otherwise. It cost a lot any time anybody comes to your house to do anything. I had a couple of bigger things go wrong. I had to get a new HVAC unit my first year in my house and I had to put some money toward that one. Then something was wrong in one of the kitchen appliances and the tech couldn't fix it or couldn't find the part, so AHS replaced it. At that point, it was a $75 copay. I don't like having the worry of what if something big goes wrong so, I like the home warranty. Also, I don't need to go online and find a plumber.

    We noticed a flickering in the room a week before, but it was sporadic. Then the next week, it just went out.     When I was showering, it sounded like it was a lot of water. So, we turned off the shower. And above our shower, directly below was the kitchen. We turned off the shower, but we could still hear it raining. So, we came downstairs, and it was completely raining all across my ceiling in the kitchen. We called American Home Shield and hoped that they could help. But the pipe where the drain was at, the man told us it was put on with a bad washer. So, the washer probably unscrewed from the water pressure and opened up.

    The ceiling is yellow now. He was trying to see if the whole ceiling would have to be pulled apart and put back up. But he said that we could just use some mold from Home Depot and paint over it. He was here for 40 minutes. He was very nice. I asked him to check if I had water build up in the ceiling, and it was no water build up or mold. I can’t imagine how much it would have burdened us if we had to go through and find somebody else, and if they ever fixed it right, and how can we hold them accountable. I don’t like trying to find people on my own. Not everybody in this world is bad, but some people are.

    We had two homes insured with American Home Shield. We had an issue with the water heater at one house. We couldn't get the person at American Home Shield to understand that we had two different contracts and the water heater issue was at a different house. It's very difficult at times because English is their second language and they are reading off of a script. They were really not listening to what we were saying and they kept saying, “We can't come out again because of some reason.” For the house where we had the water heater issue, we had to have somebody come out five times. We weren't happy with the technicians. Finally, a person came out and actually found the problem. All in all, sometimes our experiences were good. Technicians came and did whatever they were supposed to do.

    I’m very disappointed with American Home Shield. They upped my plan $7 and never told me about it. Then, when I had to talk to them over and over, they said it was not a problem. They were gonna credit it back to my card and send in 41. I said that I’m on Social Security, I’m a widow, and I needed to know that they’re upping my plan. Maybe that’s not a big deal to them but $7 is a big deal to me. Then, they said it would be in my account in 2 days. There was nothing and I called them again. Six calls later, I get this story that they were not gonna give me the money back. If I call again and I have a service call, they’ll send it back to my account.

    The service people who come out are great and I don’t have a problem with them. But I had a problem with getting six different stories about the money that AHS was gonna give me. I can never talk to anybody who doesn't have an accent and I can't even understand them. And all I got was the runaround, six times. And this last week was my last time talking to them. I’ve talked to two managers. It’s been a nightmare in that way. I’m upset with the way they treated me and didn’t even tell me they were raising my price.

    American Home Shield is excellent, except they call in the orders. When I bought my home, they offered a free keying service. They did their part, but the people where I live didn't do their part. The day I canceled the order was when the company called me to rekey my house. The reason I canceled the claim was I was three weeks into my house, and they didn't call me. I just changed the locks myself. But when my air conditioner went out two weeks into the house, that was taken care of immediately. The repairman, Anthony, was very honest. He diagnosed the problem, and my AC was fixed in a week.

    American Home Shield's customer service is great. I'm not a big do everything on the computer. I like to talk to people so I had called. I was very pleased with everything. Plus, I learned certain things that weren't covered when I spoke with the young lady. For instance, there's an outside leak in the faucet, and I didn't know that wasn't covered. It's all interior, nothing exterior.

    The air conditioning wasn't working so I called American Home Shield. The first day I called was on a Friday and the lady I talked to started asking all these questions.     I had a light in the ceiling that came on by itself and I couldn't shut it off. The tech came out the next day. He figured it out quickly, fixed it, and was on his way. The washer had some broken parts. And it was so old, the contractor couldn't replace the parts. So, American Home Shield got me a new washer.

    The circuit breakers went bad. They kept flipping back and forth for the refrigerator and the microwave oven. So those two went bad. The guy that American Home Shield sent out was pretty good and very professional. I like the home warranty but I'm paying too much money every month. American Home Shield promised me one thing as far as the price. But when I see deductions, I see something else. I thought they would work with me since I got two houses under them.

    The freezer on my refrigerator started to thaw, and water was leaking where things had melted. Then the refrigerator was not very cold. So, I called American Home Shield one day, and they said they’d send somebody out the very next day, which was a very positive thing. The guy came, and he was very knowledgeable. He fixed my refrigerator and it seems to be freezing, and the refrigerator seems to be cold. I'm pleased with this service because they did fix what was wrong, however, I’m gonna have to call them back because now my icemaker is not working on my freezer. It's not making ice.

    The dishwasher didn't power on at all. I put in the request and then they assigned AZ. Then AZ came out and took care of it. They pulled the door apart, identified the burnt wire and fixed it. They replaced the water hose as well because they found a leak while they were out there. They had to come back another day to bring a hose because they didn't have the hose. The guy that came out seemed to know what he was doing. So it was good. AZ was very professional. I sent in the claim online and American Home Shield's website was fine. It's pretty simple. It's very fast and easy.

    The experience is getting better and better over the years. My biggest issue with American Home Shield to begin with was their customer service department because I'd have to wait on the calls for an hour before I got help. Generally, I don't have an hour to just sit on the phone. But the most recent experience with trying to call them to get support was only about 15 minutes. It's still long but manageable compared to the previous times.

    Prior to covid, I would have sworn by American Home Shield. I would've made a video and sent it out to everybody, saying, “You're stupid if you don't have it.” Now, it's changing. Post covid, when it comes to trying to get people in to do certain things in a timely manner, it's gonna take about three weeks. When my sink was stopped up, I started going to other plumbers and scheduled them out of my pocket because dealing with American Home Shield, after you wait online for so long on hold to talk to someone, you can't get appointment for three weeks. When I first got American Shield, whatever was covered, I had timely people. I still have relationship with the the people that were contracted by American Home Shield. But when I call American Home Shield, they can’t get them people scheduled. They get other people who can't come out for three or four weeks because it’s not a priority.

    The warranty is good for me, but it also should be able to give me what I want within reason. On my other home, which is a rental property, they always get confused with them understanding that there’s a tenant in there. I cannot schedule anything without going through the tenant because it's illegal for me to just say, “These people come in your house tomorrow. Take off work.” I tried to get the people to understand that it's a little bit more complicated.

    SG Heating & Cooling was dealing with some stove issues at the rental property. It felt complicated. They said, “We don't know the brand it is. We can't do anything.” I was an aircraft mechanic by trade. Everything has a serial number. If you run a serial number, it's gonna tell you the exact day it was made, the manufacturer, who’s the manufacturer’s boss, and what's in the supply system to fix it.

    The biggest advantage of having the home warranty is if I have a major problem and if I can get somebody in here thru American Home Shield, it’s not gonna cost me as much as if I was to cold-call someone. I recommend American Home Shield to all my retired military friends that I'm very close with that also have rental properties. But it’s getting problematic to get people to come out and repair something where it doesn't take three weeks to get them out. For a stopped-up sink, you can't wait three weeks. When your hot water heater goes out, you can't wait three weeks.

    I'm hoping that some internal things happen to get back the way American Home Shield used to be. If it’s economics where the prices has to go up, that's understandable. I'm not upset with that. What I want is, if I'm paying you, give me timely service. I also highly recommend that somebody internal in American Home Shield try to contact and talk to a human about an existing problem and see how long it takes them just to get through. I know everything is done online in email but older people are accustomed to talking to people, not going online. But if it takes me an hour to talk to somebody, that's not good. Also, the person that you get, you may not be able to understand what they say because of language barrier.

    Last tax season, after trying to get ahold of a human being with American Home Shield, I finally got ahold of someone. I told them, “What I need is an invoice of everything that I paid on a particular property. The reason being is ‘cause it's a rental. I lost the receipt.” That was impossible. I still don't have it. I used to be able to get that. I was told, “No, you never was able to get that.” They were calling me a liar. I've had rental properties for quite some time. I used to be able to call and they'd say, "We’ll email it right to you."

    I called the AHS customer service, then I scheduled an appointment pretty quickly with the contractor. I had to have the fridge repaired since one component was breaking. The tech was professional and he did the repair within one hour, which was really quick. We analyzed the root cause quickly, too, then he went out to buy the new component and replaced it for me. With AHS, I didn't have to call the appliance manufacturer when the warranty on it had expired. Then, the service was not that expensive. It only cost me 80 bucks for one technician to come and fix the issue.

    I really like AHS. In the last few years, they've come through for us many times. We recently had a thing with our furnace that didn't quite work out as well as we would have hoped, but it wasn't really American Home Shield's fault. It was going to cost extra over and above what we expected it to cost but American Home Shield said that we could go to our own contractor if we wanted. So, we really are very pleased with their service and that's why we've kept the warranty up for the last two years.

    They've been out a few times and I've been delighted with the service they've given me. They came out to check on our stove and that was a simple fix. Then, they replaced our washing machine and our gray water ejector pump. Also, there had been a couple of times that the techs came out to check our AC unit and our furnace that were both fixable in years past. Unfortunately, this latest one, we're going to need a new furnace. But AHS covered the fixes the year before that.

    People who were coming were not qualified and they were giving the wrong information. It turned out that there were some plumbing issues and they have to fix that. But the plumber was saying it was a machine appliance issue. But the appliance tech says it's a plumbing issue. Nobody was solving the issue.     I'm going through a little crisis mode in my house. My washer, my dishwasher, my dryer is still waiting for parts to come in so it can be repaired. Everything’s breaking in the last three months.     It was a very slow process. Because I called in August 2nd and I didn't get anyone out to my home until August 17th. And I didn't get my dryer fixed until the first week of September. First it was another company. And American Home Shield called Sears, and they came in. They had to order a part. The part they ordered still wasn't the part that they needed. And come find out, as a technician was there, he finally picked the dryer all the way apart and found out it wasn't even a part that they were supposed to order. It was something else. AHS did what they were supposed to do. I paid the service fee. The coverage is fine. I paid the deductible and I didn't have to pay anything else even though they came back three times. It was just on the service facility that contracted with them.

    Wright Refrigeration came out when there was loss in coldness for the food in the freezer and the refrigerator. The response time from them was great. Someone was able to get me in. The technician looked at the refrigerator and said that they were gonna have to get to the motor that's on the freezer side. He was gonna have to clean out the whole refrigerator and freezer because he had to do something on both sides. But in order for them to get to the motor, I had to completely defrost the refrigerator, so I had to throw a lot of food away. But the technician was top notch. He explained things. He even told me where I could go because I needed some other pieces like the vegetable bin. The owner was very professional when I called back to ask them a question because I didn't think that it was going to defrost in time. They gave me enough time. However, American Home Shield's price went up, and I'm a little disturbed. I've been with the company for over 20 years, and if anything, my bill should have went down.

    The stove was not getting hot and the broiler part of the stove would not even come on. The tech from All Star came out and he explained what the problem was. When he came back and he finished, he took a little box out and showed me. He put a couple of screws in on the knob because a couple had fallen out and he saved them.     I had a PVC pipe that runs from my kitchen sink underneath the floor joists so it's accessible by the basement. It goes out to the system that goes to the sewer. In the middle, there is a galvanized steel pipe that runs from a utility sink and it intersects it right in the middle. The goober who did this plumbing job used the galvanized 3-way to for connection. That made sense for the galvanized pipe but the PVC is never gonna last. It started leaking right there. The plumber sized up the situation and he had to replace that faulty part. He used the word modify and that killed it for American Home Shield. It was a straightforward plumbing job where the job was done incorrectly the first time and all he had to do was correct it. But American Home Shield rejected my project and I ended up paying $364 out of pocket on top of the $100 deductible for the home warranty. I'm not happy.

    All in all, the plumber was great but American Home Shield let me down. I'm not necessarily done with American Home Shield. But the next time I have an issue and before I call under the home warranty, I will review my contract and look for the trip words and make sure that the plumber, electrician, or whoever does an honest appraisal and doesn't use any of those words, and then maybe it'll work out okay.

    Initially, the problem looked like a thermostat. I changed out the thermostat myself and got the unit to go off and go on again. However, the reset button kept clicking off. That was when I realized the thermostat was doing this for a reason, and it had got to be more than that. Then I noticed it was leaking at the bottom. That was when I filed the claim. Breon’s Plumbing Heating and Cooling came out and looked at it. They said, “It's good that you got it running for now because they're not that fast when it comes to replacing these things. It's probably going to take a week.” American Home Shield approved the claim the same day. Breon’s Plumbing Heating and Cooling called me yesterday and they will be there on Monday at 8 AM to install the new hot water heater. Overall, I like American Home Shield's service. They're a bit slow sometimes to respond, depending on the claim, which probably isn't their fault. With all the things they cover, they got to reach out to a contractor. But they covered my claim, so I’m happy about that.

    Our AC wasn't cooling and Austin Heat & Air came out two times to look at it. But the AC was working properly when the technician was here. He did his test and it was running the way it should. Then, the machine failed in front of the technician, so he was able to determine what was wrong with it. Austin's reps were professional 100%.     American Home Shield is great. When you have a problem, call them, let them know what’s going on, and they'll send somebody out in 24 to 48 hours. The turnaround time is not very long. When I was having problems with my door, I just called and paid the deposit. The repair people came out and fixed it. They were very cohesive. They let me know what they were doing before they started work then upon completion, they let me know that they were done. It went well. However, my door was working for a couple of days, then it fell offline again. I called them again, and they came back out again and fixed it. Now, everything is working great.

    So far, AHS has been doing really well. Sometimes the folks that they assign to a project don't always respond as promptly as they are asked to. They also don't call back. It happened only once though. That was the first claim I initially put in for some electrical work. I ended up calling the tech. He said it was because it was going to be a holiday weekend and he was going to be out of town. But he'd get with me when he got back. He never did. So I called American Home Shield and they contacted him. He still never followed back up. So they dropped him and gave me someone else and the tech came by the house. He was very good.

    I've tried to do two things with American Home Shield. They couldn't help me with one, but they did the other. It did take two times with American Home Shield to get connected with somebody. The first time I tried to get with them, they connected a service agent that was from Eastern Virginia, which was about a four-hour drive away, and the guy never called me back. Finally, when I got in touch with him, he was like, “Yeah. It’s not even in my service area.” So, we had to get back with American Home Shield. They got Country Roads and that guy was great. He was the next town over and he got everything taken care of right away.

    So far, we had to get a washer machine looked at. They didn't have anybody in the area that could service it, which required me to go out and try to find someone locally that could service it. When I did find someone local, it was cheaper to get them to do it than pay the copay to American Home Shield. So, we canceled the request with American Home Shield and just paid the service contractor to do the fix. Overall, the service that AHS was able to provide went through great. The only thing is before we signed up for it, I wish they knew if they had service people in the area because so far, everything else we've tried to get, they were like, “We don't have anybody. Find somebody, and then we'll pay them out the thing.” When the repair’s $75 and the copay is $100 copay, it's a little concerning.

    My fridge was leaking and I did a claim for it. The submission was fine. American Home Shield was supposed to take the $100 payment but they didn’t. Something went wrong where they were showing that I owed $300 but the technician was wonderful. He was very polite, clean, and quick. He kept me updated and was very punctual. But the claim process was very difficult with the fridge. The service from the reps wasn't as good as the technician's. I probably talked to four or five reps. The retention lady that I spoke to got that issue resolved and she even did a recall because after the technicians changed one part on the fridge, it started frosting. She sent the technician back out there to see why it was frosting. There was a back-and-forth. Even though I spoke to a couple of people that didn't understand the situation, it was overall resolved and I was helped.

    When water was leaking in my garage because of my air conditioner, I requested service through American Home Shield. The repair people gave me a call, explained who they were and came out as scheduled. Once the repair man came out, he told me that the condenser was clogged and it was leaking water too. He poured some solution in the drain hole. He also told me what to do to rectify it in the future. He told me to take 12 to 15 ounces of bleach and showed me where I should pour it each month so I wouldn't have that problem again. I put the bleach in the 1st of October, and that problem hasn't occurred.

    I have been promoting American Home Shield even to people I meet. I heard a guy one day talking about their refrigerator that went out and the things he needed. I said, “Do you have a home warranty?” He said he didn't, so I said, “Having a home warranty is the best thing that you could ever do, because even though you get new appliances, you don't even know when they're gonna go out.” Most things act up the day after the warranty goes out, and one starts with paying the service charges only.

    I told the guy, “I got a new water heater.” It went out right on the holiday, and I explained to him my experience. I said, “If I didn't have American Home Shield, I will be coming out X amount of dollars.” Most people don't have that kind of money sitting around. I said, “It was well, well worth it.” He said his friend suggested he get one, and I said, “Hon, you better listen to your friend because you can be paying out astronomical prices for service charges.” So, he said that he was gonna join.

    We had two claims in the past couple of months. One was for our dishwasher that stopped working. American Home Shield contracted a company to come out and fix it, and they had to come out a couple of times because they needed more parts than they expected. It took a while because of the new parts, but I wouldn't put that on the contractor they assigned for the repair. They ultimately fixed it, and all we had to pay was the $125 service fee. There was no hidden cost, and they replaced practically all the parts in the dishwasher, except for the physical outside of it. I was looking at dishwasher prices, and it might have been less expensive for them to get a new one.

    The other claim we had was for the air conditioner and that one was more complicated. There was a lot of fine print in the air conditioner clause of the contract, and we ended up having to pay 85% of the repairs. One of the main things that got us is a weird clause in the contract about they don't cover regulatory requirements, that if they're new from when you bought the house or when it was installed. There were some upgrades to the regulations that are required in Texas for the ACs. So, that was a huge cost of the repair that they didn't cover. Another thing is the contract only covers $10 a pound for the chemical coolant when you have to refill it. Everything over that, the homeowner has to pay the difference. If it’s $20 a pound, then we have to pay $10 a pound. Unfortunately, due to the crazy supply chain issues, the chemical is $90 a pound now. So, we had to pay about $800 on that as well.

    I told American Home Shield, “Come on, you’re hardly covering anything. You’re covering about $500.” If I went out and contracted the company myself, I would be paying $500 more than what I ended up paying. American Home Shield wouldn’t budge on it. It’s in the contract that I signed, so I can't dispute it. I don’t think I have any legal recourse to fight it. I didn’t read with a fine-tooth comb every single detail of the contract, but I glanced at it when I signed up. I figured, this is a new house and I was not gonna need a new air conditioner anytime soon. There are a couple other clauses in my contract, too, that potentially could cost us as well if something like that breaks in the house.

    American Home Shield might still be the best one out there. That’s what most reviews say. However, the air conditioner claim really frustrated me. All the other ones we’ve had, it was just the $125 service fee, then they fixed it. We’ve had several other service calls for minor plumbing issues. They did a great job with the dishwasher as well.

    The garage door spring broke and I couldn't get in or out of the garage. I called American Home Shield and #1 Garage Door came out. Unfortunately, what my warranty covers did not cover the spring but the guy that came out was fantastic. He was here the next day after I called him and he came early. I had another incident last December where my oven went out right at Christmas and because of the pandemic, I had a real problem getting somebody out here. We were without a stove for three weeks. On the day that the guy was supposed to come, we were in the midst of a snowstorm. He couldn't get to me and I had to reschedule. That's the only negative thing I can say about American Home Shield.

    I had another issue with them with some plumbing. I wouldn't recommend the guy they sent out. That job ended up costing me over $500 out of pocket. I had to bring somebody else in to correct and fix it. I tried to make AHS aware of that, but nothing happened. Other than those, every time anybody's ever done anything for me, AHS always follows up and checks how it went. That's an admirable gesture on their part.

    When I first bought my house 20 years ago, I had American Home Shield and I really liked their service and I always kept them.     AHS has done a few good things but there are some things that I wish they could improve on. I have an issue with my bathtub in the hall bath. I've had to have them come out several times and unclog it. The last time they sent someone, that contractor said the plumbing was wrong and they can't fix it anymore. AHS said they're not going to cover it anymore. The same thing happened with the toilet in the bathroom. The techs weren't going to come out and fix it. Each visit is $100 and I've already spent a lot of money on having them come several times.

    But other bathrooms have been unclogged successfully. I've also had them do electrical work like replacing an outlet. They said it really wasn't covered but the tech had one on his truck and replaced it. Also, a light fixture had fallen in the basement and the electrician got all the wires patched up so we could put another light in. I felt good about that Electrician.

    I still have a pending request out because my roof was leaking. They took my money but I have yet to see the roofer come out. AHS is an insurance company. If they can get away with not covering something, they will absolutely do it.

    Having Home Shield is good because when you have a home, things break and it's best to pay that instead of having to try to pay it out of your pocket. Every time I call Home Shield, they get somebody out here to fix my issue. My last experience with them was when my air conditioner went out. This was about four weeks ago. A lot more people’s air conditioning units probably went out too. The guy fixed the air conditioner. He was good and did everything. There were some ants that got up in my box cabinet. He put another switch on and sprayed some stuff in there to keep the ants out.

    I've been with American Home Shield for a long time and when I have problems with different things that break down, it's always a good thing to have if you can't afford to replace them right then. Most of the time, I call when I submit a claim and usually, it doesn’t take long for someone to pick up. I had my AC worked on and it went okay.     Since we subscribed to American Home Shield, we've had two appliances fail and both of them have been replaced very promptly. The process of choosing a new dishwasher was interesting and a little confusing. When they send out an email that gives you a choice of replacements, one thing that is not explained is that the list changes every day. Once I made a phone call and found that out, I was able to go back into the site and make a selection. But it's disconcerting because you get a list and you think that's the list. But in actuality, something may be on the list one day and not on it the next, and something new will pop up.

    The service people that came out have been fine. Each time I got a referral, I looked them up online. In the case of the garbage disposal replacement, the first contractor had a ghastly reputation. I called American Home Shield and said, “No. This is what the Better Business Bureau says about this company." The person online replaced the contractor with a different one who did a very nice job. American Home Shield is an organization that seems to be very responsive. When there are questions or issues, there's no problem getting through to a person to speak to, which is very helpful, and there's no problem getting an answer

    The top of my glass range broke. The guy that replaced it did a phenomenal job. But we had problems when we were trying to get our air conditioning fixed. I've got really, really bad COPD. So getting too hot is not a good idea. The AC went out Sunday morning and it was summer in Arizona at the time. We tried to contact American Home Shield but there was no answer. My wife left a message and still nothing. Come Monday morning, I called a local company, and even though American Home Shield didn’t cover it, absolute total props to them. For 890 bucks, they replaced a bunch of crap, refilled my AC, and replaced the lines in my AC. I had to take that one on the chin. I’m not amused about it, but that was okay.

    When we first moved in, we did our inspection, everything was working just fine. And it all of a sudden started going on. We’d be cooking, the burners would just shut off. And we went from having six burners, and little by little trickled down to where we only had two. My wife was supposed to try the oven and get that working, and after that point, we decided to make our phone call and let American Home Shield know that we were having issues.

    When we submitted a claim, when I told the rep my issues, she right away said, “Hey, I’m gonna send you a link. And through that link, we’ll be able to video chat, and you can show us all the symptoms that you are now experiencing.” That was helpful because I was able to point out everything to her while I was talking to her, like a Skype call. And she would tell me, “Okay. Here’s the model number.” After that, she would receive that. Turn everything on, showed me everything of the issues we were having. So, it was a good experience with that.

    The tech came in. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. Right away when I met him, he asked where the stove was. And I took him to where we started testing everything that was on his report. And he asked me what else I did notice. I showed him. And right away, he started breaking it down, trying to troubleshoot, see what he could find, and determined the report. They bought it out. I’d tell everybody to get on AHS. It's something you should think about. Because you never know what can happen. When it does happen, you want to have somebody reliable, somebody there.

    The motor on the refrigerator side of my mother's Frigidaire went out. Somebody had to come and replace that portion. He was excellent and knew what he was doing immediately. On his first visit, he knew within three minutes what the problem was, and ordered the part. I got an email that the part was ordered. Then the hurricane hit us, so we had to wait an additional week. They rescheduled, and the tech was here and he installed it. As far as American Home Shield, we've used them twice in the time we've had them. We had a claim for the washing machine and that went as smooth as the refrigerator. The service was excellent.     Sometimes it takes too long to do things. We had a problem with a sewage line and it was very stressful to go through AHS. They assigned my claim to some guy in San Leandro and when I called, he was extremely rude. I called AHS back and said, they'll have to get anyone else and that the contractor canceled. I couldn't use the toilet or the shower.

    When this thing went through, it was just a point that was urgent. When I finally spoke to somebody else, they said, “We’ll move your status to emergency” But I had told the first person it was an emergency and they put it on a status where that contractor would call me within 24 hours. From the beginning, it should have been an emergency because it was an emergency.

    Other than that, AHS is doing okay. Finally, someone helped and the guy who came did a good job. He was polite and kind. The warranty is worth it. I recommend it 'cause it is useful.

    I had a leak. It was a drain pipe that drains and it leaked through my ceiling. It comes through the hallway ceiling. We had a bucket up there. And we had a contractor come out and take a look at it. He got out there quickly. He came out and I wasn't at home. I was still at work. My husband was at home to greet him and let him into the house to do the things. And when he got in there, he said, "Where's the other guy?" Dave said, "Oh, my husband's at work." He gave a "Hmm" and asked "Oh, who's the other guy?" "My husband." He gave a "Hmm" and didn't have much more to say at that point. He went up, took his pictures and left. He got back to AHS. And whatever report he gave them was it was not due to fair wear and tear. He put it on us that it was our fault. So, I had to have a second opinion.

    I did have the second opinion come out. And the guy was very pleasant. Went and looked at everything. He took his pictures as well. But he came down and asked Dave some questions like how long we had lived there. Because Dave shared with him, he said, "This other guy said it was our fault, basically, the homeowner." And we have never been up in the attic. We bought the house roughly eight years. And this guy, the second guy said, "Well, this has been like this for like 30 years." So the second guy came out and did his thing and left.

    When he went back, he gave his report, American Home Shield still would not cover it. They still said, "No. We're denying this claim because it wasn't installed properly." And I asked them, "So you mean to tell me because I wasn't here 30 years ago to tell the builder that they built the house wrong and put the air conditioner in wrong and set the drain pipe up wrong, it's my fault? It's my responsibility? Even I'm paying you this money." And they said, "Yes." And I said, "Well, then cancel the service. I'll get it done myself."

    The second guy will be out next Wednesday to do the repairs. And with what I'm going to pay him is what I paid AHS over the last three years. So if I had just put the money in my savings account, I would be much better off. Because it even cost me $48 to cancel the service. They said I was within my year. But they charge me every month and doing nothing for me. They've done one thing. They fixed my water heater. And I added that up and it wasn't that much of a savings. So, this was a big thing and they're not there for me. So how do I know the next time I call them when they send someone out, they would not give me the same song and dance? They're worthless.

    The cold water was running very slow and T Mayes Plumbing came out three days after I called in the claim. The tech found the problem and told me what it was. He told me he would get back to me about whether it was covered or not but he didn't so I called American Home Shield. They told me they don't cover the filter and told me how much it would cost. The price they gave me was 195 and it was the cost of a new water filter, which I did not need. I checked the cost of everything and I called them back and told them that I did not need their service. I didn't have any problem with customer service. I understood everything they said and they were very kind. They explained everything and answered every question that I had to my satisfaction and to my understanding.

    I had American Home Shield before but I left them, and I went somewhere else. But I found out that American Home Shield is the best. I came back to them. I had one experience with them where the technician wasn’t able to complete the job, and they had to send out another technician. Aside from that, every time they send out a technician, they handle the job. They do what I need them to do. They got my washer, my garbage disposal, my air conditioner, and my refrigerator running.

    This last time, when the technician said that he was not able to complete the job, I called American Home Shield, and they said they had to wait for the technician to contact them. I said, "He's already said he can't do it. I'm sitting over here with my washer not done.” The customer service representative should have the authority to make a decision and put another order out for me instead of waiting on the previous technician to contact them and tell them that they couldn't do it.

    The reps are always courteous and friendly. I just can't always understand them. The tech came out, looked at the part that was broken and said they would order it, and they did. The guy was very polite when he came out. I was told it was on order for a month. And American Home Shield said, "Go look for a new dryer." Because they couldn't get the part.

    Action needed for dispatch. Maybe that's for my payment. 928. They have accepted it. Next step, email proof of repair. I've already sent AHS that. They sent me something back saying they got that. And it now says, "Check will be mailed to you within 21 business days of receiving proof of repair." I sent them the receipt over a week ago that the Home Depot sent me for the dryer that I got. It was more than what they allowed. But they will pay me whatever they agreed to. So, it all worked out well. I recommended AHS to somebody recently. I've only had one problem with one of the vendors, who is an idiot. But generally, they've sent good vendors. One of them was exceptional. So, I'm happy.

    We have an older home. So, American Home Shield is very beneficial and cost-effective for us. And we don't have any problems other than dealing with people that we couldn't understand, that English is not their native language. Sears has come out twice in the last month and a half. The first time was for the oven. And they repaired the heating element and the locking mechanism on the oven door. They also came out last week, replaced the locking mechanism on the dishwasher and the switch. They looked at it for an hour to figure out what was going on with it. After that, it was a week to get the part. And they came. They had the part on the truck last week. And the tech was in and out for a bit over an hour. Sears did an excellent job.
