AAA has created a new home insurance renew policy that asks people to do their own inspections and submit photos... How stupid.. I could have walked across the street and took pictures of their home.... STUPID... Let's be honest... AAA didn't want to pay experienced home inspectors to inspect homes... STUPID... NOW AAA will lose millions of customers and their stock price will tank....

I’ve had AAA Home Insurance since 2021, but I recently discovered a major issue when I filed a claim. AAA had incorrectly listed my home—a double/duplex—as a single-family dwelling. This mistake went unnoticed for years, and I can only imagine the devastating consequences if my home had been completely lost in a fire or another disaster.

Once AAA corrected their error, my premium skyrocketed, more than tripling to an outrageous $4,460 per year—an increase of over $300 per month on my mortgage. This was not due to any changes on my end but solely because they had misclassified my property from the start. This entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. The stress and frustration of dealing with their mistakes, on top of the financial burden, have made it clear that AAA is not the right insurance provider for me. Once my current claim for a roof leak is resolved, I will be switching to another company. If you’re considering AAA for homeowners insurance, double-check every detail of your policy before it’s too late. Their errors could cost you dearly.

WARNING!!!! If you have AAA insurance for your home! I had a plumbing line that had split. I caught it before it did any damage inside my home. We had to spend 4 nights at a hotel since we could not flush toilets or run any water in the house. I did not think to call my AAA home insurance right away, I called a plumber. I even paid a down payment and then the Rotor cleaning co wanted a payment. I finally called AAA and it turns out that they were not willing to reimburse me or pay for the hotel or pay the company that did the work.

The reason was that the inside of my house was not damaged. Something that I was unaware of during all the many years I have made payments to AAA. I just want to warn you that if you have anything that is going wrong with your home, it is better to let damage happen inside so that you will get paid by the insurance co. I feel very cheated!!! I have been with AAA since the '50's. I am out the money for the hotel....and on top of that 30,000.

Cancelled my home insurance with AAA. Could not get my agent to cancel or even search for a better rate. When I finally got a different agent to fill out declaration of cancellation, she never sent the paperwork in, it was all signed in Sept, sent in yesterday. 2 agents at AAA that did not do their jobs. If I can list their names, I would, my insurance agents are in the Rhode Island office. I went with Travelers for home and car insurance at a huge savings, I was a over 6 year AAA customer. So, I actually paid 2 home insurance policies because of AAA's incompetence. I wait for my refund now, that should of been issued in September. The worst agents I have ever dealt with, I could do that job, do not need to do anything.

I had Triple AAA auto insurance for 25 years and homeowners for four years. Right before moving onto another insurance carrier, I received my renewal for homeowners. It had significantly increased without having any claims for vehicle and homeowners. So I signed with another insurance company for both types of insurance. A year later I decided to go back to AAA. They ended up quoting me way more than they did during my recent renewal and more than the new insurance company. They are all about trying to maximize their profits. I understand that they are a business and need to make a profit. However, they were overcharging. I would not recommend them for any type of service. They force their roadside assistance on you. You can't buy their auto insurance without their yearly fee for roadside. I had a new car that included roadside. I don't know any other insurance company that does that. SCAMMERS!!!

What on earth am I paying for. Five years ago I had a small leak on my ceiling. AAA came out and told me my roof looked great and that I’m responsible for that small leak. Fast-forward five years later and my good looking roof that is 15 yrs old now looks like 30 yrs old. Why didn’t you tell me this 5 yrs ago. Now my damage is more, the roof is more.

Had you told me five years ago I needed a new roof. I would’ve got a new roof, no way does a roof go from 10 years old to 30 years old in five years.. I have two homes and a car covered through AAA. Not any more. They don’t have your back. 25 years later and my deductible is $10,000. I don’t recommend these guys. You don’t even get an agent every time you call. You get a new person which means you have to repeat yourself every time.

Stay AWAY from AAA is my new motto. After having a large tree fall onto my house during a storm I contacted AAA and they sent out an inspector within just a day or so. While waiting on their report I also contacted multiple contractors for estimates. The AAA inspector they sent out showed up in a little smart car and no ladder. Said he would be about 10 minutes. He took 5 minutes and left without a word to me. He did not move any debris to inspect and I was told by AAA that they don't do that. So really how could he inspect without moving stuff out of the way. I contacted AAA and the service agent tells me he didn't find any damage. That she even looked at the photos he took and she didn't see any damage. My God There was a huge tree sticking out of my roof! You don't see that damage?

The contractors on the other hand found 3 large holes in the roof, shingles were ripped off, the tree destroyed my siding, and gutters were ripped down etc... yet he found no damage? Then it rained again the next day and started leaking inside ceiling. I called AAA again and they said it would be a new claim. I argued since this is clearly from the roof damage and not a new claim. I also told them to send someone out to tarp the roof to prevent further damage inside. They did send someone out to tarp who also took pictures of the damage. AAA is now sending out the same guy who initially came out that "found no damage" even after I requested someone else. I mean honestly he didn't even go up on the roof and look. How could he without a ladder? How much is this guy getting paid by AAA to say he didn't see anything?

Once I started asking these questions AAA will not return my calls or emails now and I have been slowly moving up the chain of command. I am at the manager level now and still no response. I will have to get an attorney and will cost me even more money just to get my home fixed. I am also positive that they will drop my insurance right away even after I asked them and they said they would not do that to a good customer. If this is what you do to a good customer I would hate to see a bad one. We shall see though if they do. I just can't believe after being a loyal customer for years that AAA would treat people like this. I thought they were a reputable company.

My roof was hit badly by the storm. All my neighbors replaced their roof because we all had damaged. I filed a claim with AAA for the damage. It took months for an adjuster to come out because they were giving excuses of being busy with all the other claims around town. I waited and an adjuster came out. Quoted my roof with $2000 while my contractor said the roof isn’t repairable. I contacted my adjuster and he never called me back. My emails were ignored. I had to call AAA department directly and was told to wait an adjuster would call me back. Months later, no calls. So I called AAA again. I was assigned a new adjuster that asked me questions of back to square 1. Telling me to send documents over then ignore me again. I had to call AAA again and was assigned a new adjuster. Then the new one asked me same questions from all the previous adjusters then ignores me again.

Months become years. Since I kept calling back AAA, the adjuster said, "Send me your documents again," and had to wait forever. Finally they came back with it has been too long so they aren’t going to pay. Really AAA? You made me wait forever and not responding back to me and now your excuse is time passed? Time passed because your company kept telling me to wait and nobody responded back to me. This company likes to stall, ignores the customers, then give the excuse of time’s over. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They want your money but they don’t want to payout a claim. My family and I have been enduring in our dealings with AAA. On August 12, 2023, an incident occurred that has left us grappling with not only the damages to our property but also the lack of support from our Claims Agent over the past three months. The gravity of our situation is exacerbated by the presence of young children and a stroke victim in our household. Regrettably, for months, we have been unable to use essential household appliances, including our washer, dryer, water heater, furnace, water filtration system, and various other basement-based appliances.

Adding to our woes, our contractor is threatening to file a lien against our property due to unpaid fees for services rendered. In an effort to address this, we consulted our mortgage representative, who advised us to remit the $1,000 deductible to our contractor, a payment we promptly made. Despite two inspections to assess damages, our attempts to engage with our Claims representative have been fruitless. False assurances, pending paperwork excuses, and significant delays have characterized our interactions.

Moreover, the information provided by AAA Management regarding a partial payout was not only delayed but also insufficient to cover the restoration of all damaged items. Despite multiple attempts to communicate, we have faced significant delays in completing necessary repairs and obtaining reimbursement for our losses. The situation has escalated to the point where legal action and the imposition of a lien on our property are being considered by our contractor due to AAA's delays and misinformation.

We appeal to AAA Supervisors and Upper Management to expedite the resolution of this matter, as the impending legal actions pose a severe threat to our property. Your prompt attention to this issue is crucial, and we implore your assistance in bringing about a swift and satisfactory conclusion to this unfortunate situation. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.

You can see many other similar reviews. I had filed a hail damage claim last year where multiple roofing companies agreed that the damage was there, and I personally saw the damage as well. I started to get leaking into my house in multiple locations after a couple of hail storms. They tried to give me some money for the leak spot (1.5k, under my deductible) but denied the roof.

Fast forward a year later, we got an even bigger hail storm where more damage occurred, and more leaks into our ceiling and more buckling decking boards on our roof. The adjuster obviously saw damage as metals were damaged, the air conditioner was damaged - which they actually approved. However they are still claiming that the damage on the roof is not hail damage.

In a fury, I emailed the desk adjuster with some photos in order to get some clarity. I sent three photos which were obviously big hail hits and wanted to ask them what about this was not hail damage. You can tell they're trained to respond in certain ways as to not get them into legal trouble. Her only response (which took 3 weeks) was "this is not consistent with hail damage". There is absolutely nothing about those hits that could be anything else. And again, multiple roofing companies have agreed with me. One of the photos was old hail damage as you could see the fibers. It was obviously at one point due to hail and you cannot claim that it is not consistent with hail damage. You can say it is old, but it is still consistent with hail damage. And an old hit could have been from them denying me last year too.

All in all, it has been a big pain in the butt to get valid damage approved. They accept little things just to get you off their back but then don't agree to the high value items. The adjuster secretly told me that they are one of the most difficult insurance companies to get to covered hail damage because "they go by the book to every last word" and then some. Don't make the same mistake going for the cheapest premium. Because once you get damage and they won't cover it, you're facing far more money to get something fixed than if you would have just gone with a proper company with a little higher premiums in the first place.

After I escalated my dispute with field agent's manager, there was virtually no response up to this moment. My claim experience was so bad that, when I cancelled the policy, the agent who sold me the policy told me he probably would have done the same thing. The whole process took about six months and the desk adjuster repeatedly ignored me, so I often had to ask my agent to contact her for me. After a hailstorm, AAA agreed to replace half of the roof (overlooking hail damage on the other half) and told me to repair the siding, but wouldn't replace it. That type of siding was no longer manufactured and, after repeatedly explaining this to the desk adjuster, I threatened to file a secondary claim because the interior water damage was visibly worsening. She still refused to replace the other half of the roof and changed the reason every time we sent in pictures to answer the previous reason. She also refused to issue a denial of the supplement request and told me in writing that she would not issue a denial letter.

She sent an engineer who claimed that there was no hail damage anywhere on the roof and issued a strongly worded denial letter, although she did agree to replace a roof vent that she had previously claimed was only damaged after the initial inspection. The engineer's report was dubious and it referred to 3-tab shingles, but the roof had architectural shingles, and this was not the only flaw. I reminded the adjuster of her earlier written statement that she wouldn't issue a denial letter, but she said it didn't count.

After completing the approved work, I sent in pictures and receipts and asked for payment, but after multiple emails and five weeks of waiting, no payment was sent. Through my agent, I threatened to report it to the state, at which point payment was sent with an apology for the "oversight." After completing a post-claim survey, I got a call from the adjuster's manager who defended the decision. I asked for evidence of the engineer's expert credentials, and he sent the engineer's own resume which showed no training in roofing or construction. He had an engineering degree and had worked a series of unrelated jobs. When I pointed this out, the adjuster's manager did not refute it, but told me in writing that AAA stood by the report.

My parents have been with AAA for 57 years and have all of their insurance with AAA (car, home, blanket). They live in Orange County Southern California, where we have been experiencing extreme rain and storm damage. Their roof started leaking when the rain season started, and in addition to the roof damage there is considerable water damage to portions of the interior of the house (ceiling collapse, walls, wood flooring).

The adjuster came and inspected the situation and AAA then denied the claim because the damage is not caused by storm damage, and explained that there is a clause in their policy that says the roof leakage has to be caused by something like a tree falling on the roof to open it up. It does not cover leakage and damage caused by wind and rain. When the adjuster was doing the inspection he said that the claim was going to be denied for the reasons stated above, and said that he was very sorry. He also said that he had worked to as an adjuster for other home insurance companies that did not have that special clause in their policies and that would not have denied this claim. Needless to say I'll be changing all of their insurance policies to different companies, but unfortunately it is too late for this damage/claim. I wish I had known about this situation before the damage occurred.

I have never made a flood/hurricane/fire/robbery claim in that entire time. The 4 “not-at-fault” incidents are all auto: 1 was a rear end collision and his insurance covered it in total, the other 3 are WINDSHIELD REPAIR!!! REPAIR, NOT REPLACE…EACH TAKING 5 MINUTES OR SO. I thought I was doing the responsible thing by reporting when there was just a little chip so that it could be repaired and not replaced which would be costlier!!!

Living near all this new construction makes the stones and pebbles pretty hazardous but they have taught me not to do the right thing...just wait till it shatters and needs a major repair. This decision came down from the Florida Automobile Underwriting Association and cannot be appealed. Obviously they are using every excuse in the book to not insure homes in Florida. It should not be allowed! Fraudulent!

AAA sent two adjusters both of whom must have been blind because they both said "no damage." Problem is, my roofer took pictures of all the damage. Yet, they still denied the claim. After I kept appealing the denial, AAA eventually gave me money for hail damage to my aluminum siding. Imagine that, the hail damaged the sides of my house but completely missed my roof according to AAA. AAA will be glad to collect your premiums but good luck getting them to pay a claim.

After months of their losing papers and giving incorrect information the State of TX had to intercede to force them to non activated policy. This company has independent groups and rules and the kept sending my call to California. I have sent proof of insurance with another company and out of spite they turned over a bill to collection that is going to court. AAA states they can not stop it even though they admit I had another company. It has been a horrible experience for over a year. I can not go to court due to an issue that may require a leg amputation. Do not use this company. The agents tell you there is coverage that is not there. If it takes months to go through all the required photos and documents, I can not imagine how bad and slow their claims process is. The current response is that once in collection there is nothing they can do to stop it. No way to cancel even with proof of their fraud.

I tape all calls with companies for cases like this. Most are a bit more subtle. AAA does not bother with customer service. They need an investigation. One more warning. One person will admit receiving information but another on the same day will say there is no evidence of receipt. They have passed bad service. This is knowingly providing false information. There are better companies. Check them out first.

Thankfully that hasn't happened much over the months living in Florida. The leak is in my husband's closet where we have had to move everything out. At times rain pours through the light fixture into a cooler that we have underneath to catch the water. AAA nor Belfor Restoration can find the leak and we have been dealing with this since August 1, 2020. They said they would send an engineer out however this has yet to happen.

It came as a shock. In 43 years of purchasing homeowner insurance, AAA is the first and only time I’ve been canceled – for any policy. Why? “The condition of the roof on the dwelling presents an increased exposure to weather-related losses and makes the policy ineligible.” I would appreciate if you would let me know what roof condition concerns you, because I would like to address it, for my own sake. The roof was replaced in 2013, professionally installed with top quality shingles and does not leak. The old roofing materials were completely removed. There’s only one layer of shingles (using nails, not staples), along with underlayment materials and extra underlayment for valleys. I provided your agent with proof of the roof’s age and you sent an inspector who photographed my house and could easily see that the house is in great upkeep.

I suspected service would be lacking because after paying the premium, I couldn’t get any answers about the policy from the local AAA agency. They didn’t respond to emails or phone messages. A decent agent would have called me regarding the roof issue and termination. I suppose I’m lucky to be rid of you, before I had a claim.

I certainly don’t want to continue doing business with AAA. I can only imagine what trouble you would give me in the event of a claim. I’ve never had any home claim in the 43 years I’ve lived here. I don’t casually switch insurance companies, and will return to my prior carrier, a little more expensive, but with excellent service, according to friends who have made claims, and very responsive. But, I would appreciate, as a courtesy, if you would share with me your concern about the condition of my roof, as I will surely address any important issue. I want to continue my sterling record of no claims.

We are victims of both the Tubbs Fire (October 2017) and most recently the Glass Fire (September 2020). We purchased home insurance from AAA after our previous insurer increased our rate from $1700 to $4400 per year. We paid our premiums for approximately 1 year, when the Glass Fire hit. Luckily, our home was not destroyed as many of our neighbor’s homes were. We however, sustained significant damage to our property, to the tune of approximately $450,000. We submitted a claim immediately and an AAA adjuster came out to assess the damage. He admitted this was his first assignment as an adjuster and he was woefully unprepared. We received an $8,000 check as “settlement for our claim”, which we did not cash.

We hired a third party adjuster to deal with AAA on our behalf, which has resulted in no cooperation whatsoever. We were assigned a new adjuster and an assistant, neither of whom will talk to us directly, in direct violation of California Insurance Code 15027 v (3). It’s been over 4 months and AAA has not paid a single dime against this claim, despite several letters requesting interim payments to reimburse us for our “out of pocket” expenses. They continue to delay and obfuscate by requesting receipts from the Tubbs Fire, current vendors performing the work we are paying out of pocket, etc. They refuse to respond to these same vendors when contacted directly for payment. The bottom line is that AAA is a bottom feeder and is not living up to its obligations as a reputable insurer. Do not buy insurance from AAA, no matter how cheap. They are disreputable scammers.

I went ahead and shut down the main water valve outside the house. I called a plumber and have my brother – James ** assisted him since I was on my way to the Saddleback hospital at that time. Ms. Jessica ** stated that someone or an adjuster will be calling me. I mentioned to Ms. Jessica ** to speak with my daughter Elaine ** for now due to my health condition.

When I came back from hospital the plumber along with Procore restoration told me that slab leak was from caused by hot water high pressure. Due to water trying to find the way out it causes water leakage spread out even between the slab and tile caused a tile to crack and others with hallow sound or ready to pop. I cannot really communicate or talked that much to my plumber (Chris) and Procore (Mr. Gerardo **) at that time due to just got out from hospital. In spite of my health condition I have been trying to contact my adjuster Mr. Sean ** but most of the time either he is not there or our schedule does not tag along. On May 22, 2020 I talked to him about our situation. Mr. Sean ** mentioned that he is going to send Serv Pro. I told him that I trusted my team and they will be my spoke persons due to my health condition.

I was scheduled to have a lobectomy and trying to recuperate but all of these just got aggravated big time. Instead of me recuperating from my health issues talking with AAA adjuster Mr. Sean ** made it worst physically and mentally especially when I spoke with him on May 22, 2020. Mr. Sean ** kept saying it is time for him to go or go home. I kept telling him that I just got out of the hospital and scheduled for surgery. He is not concerned about what my health conditions. Instead he kept saying it is time for him to go home. Mr. Sean ** customer service was really aggravated my health conditions. I told Mr. Sean ** that the ProCore team are starting the restoration and my family needed a temporary shelter. Mr. Sean ** kept telling that without the plumbing status of work it cannot be done. He kept telling me that he needs to go now or go home then he said, "You can talk to my supervisor."

So, I went ahead and talked to his supervisor Ms. **. She told me that we can go ahead and find somewhere to stay and call back Tuesday May 26, 2020. I told Ms. ** that Mr. Sean ** specifically told me that without the status of work from plumber we cannot do that and I don’t want to jeopardize that. I told Ms. ** as well please be aware that it’s long weekend (due to Memorial Day weekend) hard to get book for hotel at anywhere. I told her that the total persons live in my house are nine (9). It is hard to get a house or hotel. It will cost a lot to get a hotel to accommodate all of us. I also told her my health conditions that I am trying to recuperate but instead Mr. Sean ** aggravated it.

I am very pleased with ProCore restoration (Mr. Gerardo **) and Premier Restoration Services Inc. (Mr. James **) for helping me all the way. My team really do an excellent job. They are professionals and knowledgeable. They are my representative especially Mr. James ** from Premier Restoration. From the reports I have been getting from AAA investigators such as Paley, Soil inspector, and so forth I will say Premier Restoration Services Inc and ProCore restoration are more honest, knowledgeable and experts. They are highly recommendable, I don’t understand why in the beginning Mr. Sean ** change his way of dealing with my claim after I explained I am going to use my own people. I feel like after I told him I am going to use my own people he was mad and I believe the delays I am going through is out of retaliation of not using his contractors. I am sorry I can use his contractors. Even their repair contractor made a mistake with the drywall in the garage. I don’t trust their contractor.

We have been with AAA Automobile Club of Southern California members for so long approximately 30 years. We bought our house on November 6, 2018 and use AAA as home insurance. Now that I am getting these bad experiences from AAA no doubt that 30 years being a member will end. AAA adjuster Mr. Sean ** and his team made us stays in Airbnb from May 29, 2020 up to now. AAA is paying for that temporary shelter and I thank them for that but that’s not cost effective at all.

AAA are doing lots of investigations wasting time instead of resolving the issues and get it done. Proofs been submitted but they wanted their own results and hire their own people that they can manipulate the results. They hired Paley Stone & Tile Forensics also known as Atlas to investigate. Our existing tile was discontinued, which meant insurance should pay to replace the existing floor. Paley Stone & Tile Forensics was hired to lie and provide a report so that AAA would not be liable.

I just don’t know why AAA kept sending their hired experts to investigate my property when all proofs provided. I am not an expert or good at plumbing, maintenance, and so forth but I have common sense that I can see what’s going on. he water leak or flooding was beyond my or our control. I don’t believe AAA is handling my claim with good faith, because they are taking too long. They don’t give me information I have to ask Mr. James ** to get me an update. When he asks them for information they take a long time to answer. Sometimes he has to remind them they are supposed to respond by a certain time, and then finally they respond. For example the Policy. It took over 3 weeks to produce my policy. If it take that long to produce my policy then how can the adjuster make coverage determinations.

I believe this is Mr. Sean ** way of discriminating against me because I did not use his contractor. If they is the way he is bullying me that’s not how you do business. This whole claim is taking too long. I want to get back to normal as soon as possible. I read other complaints online about AAA and now I see those complaints are true, because I am living the same experience.

The Doc. told us to stay in a hotel until AAA can rip out the carpet and pad...Still nothing from AAA...Over 2 weeks later, and lots of phone calls to AAA, and still no answer, I had to hire a contractor to remove a whole wall from the ground up, 3 quarters of the ceiling, all the insulation, and replace with new drywall, insulation, etc. Now, AAA finally calls back, and tells us that since we did the work in the bedroom, they won't pay for it...NOW, in the meantime they find out there are a bunch of roofing tiles gone from the roof, and the roof is exposed, that's where the water came in from...We got 3 quotes from contractors to restore our kitchen walls and cabinets.

AAA sent their guy in to give us an estimate, and he says they can't do the work. Then AAA says the quotes are too high, and "they aren't in the business of remodeling kitchens."? The house is over 30 years old, and the kitchen has never been remodeled...It was in perfect working order, and we just want it replaced with comparable cabinets. AAA then tells us, "We should have used their contractor in the beginning"... Their guy said he couldn't do the dang job! She wouldn't approve any contractor I found, AAA's payout to us would be $18,000 to do the roof, bedroom, kitchen! The lowest bid we can find is from Sears at $32,000 just to get the kitchen back to where we can put our dishes back, and cook!

The roof is estimated at $4000...The bedroom was $3,500. Total for the whole thing is $39,500. We're not asking for AAA to pay for the 2 weeks in a hotel, or any other expenses we had to incur...We pay our premiums on time, every month, year after year! AAA should have our backs! AMENDMENT: It's now July 6th 2020....and STILL no working kitchen, we had to pay for the roof and bedroom out of pocket.

I had a very bad experience when it came time to use my homeowner's insurance and file a claim after a hail storm. I have a house that is 13 year old. I was told that only a small part of it had received damage from that particular storm and I could not have any other parts covered, and in fact after my 1000 deductible was paid I would have to go after the depreciated value to get more back (so essentially hardly any money was going towards the repair).

I was not going to be able to get the rest repaired (even though it would never match) because it was from another storm, and it was cosmetic at this time. Now, I have never used my homeowner's insurance, but it goes up every year and I pay it. So, from there it only got worse, as I brought a roof contractor in and he got blown off, even though the claims agent said he was going to work with us after I had called the AAA office of ILLINOIS. Anyhow, I have to bite the bullet in costs to get roof repaired and dump AAA. I will be telling everyone that asks me.

I had a large branch off of a very large tree fall on my garage and backyard fence. AAA sent an adjuster who began our encounter lecturing me about how "some people" want to get their damaged property improved not just repaired. He was obviously insinuating that I was going to do this. I have a 1924 craftsman house is an historic neighborhood. My detached garage was knocked off square, the roof was penetrated gutter and soffit was torn off, and roof rafters were split. The 6' wooden fence was splintered as well as the entryway.

Two cost estimates from a reputable fence firm for the fence was between 5800.00 (if I wanted the archway entryway reconstructed) to 3800.00 if I just wanted a standard gate. I submitted the full replacement quote to the adjuster and was told that they would not pay for the 8' (out of 35') that the main tree had occupied.. The fence was built around the tree. I had to pay 4000.00 to have the tree removed myself and 3' of good fence was taken out to allow the arborists to access the 5' diameter tree to remove it. I sent the adjuster the smaller quote of 3800.00 without the archway and told him I would pay for 800.00 of the cost for the 8' of tree length. They sent me 1200.00.

The garage repair was problematic. Two contractors refused to even quote the job to square up the garage due to liability issues. I insisted that the adjuster contract a structural engineer to determine if the garage could be fixed. Seven months later and a call to his supervisor finally got the engineer on site. I was pleased to hear that the garage can be straightened. In the meantime I had a quote to reroof the garage, sister the rafters, replace the gutter and screens, soffit, and brace the interior..12,000.00. I had the garage insured for 30,000.00.

Final total: Max cost via quotes for garage, limb, and fence..max: 17,300.00.
Total AAA paid: 6349.00... with depreciation added 8184.77.

My cost including 1000.00 deductible: over 9000.00.

My Advice.. avoid AAA like the plague.

I had AAA flood insurance in Tampa, FL for over 20 years and every year they increased my rate by over $100. When I had an Elevation survey done I called them to refund premiums. They said, "Oh we only will refund for the current policy" even though they over charged me about $1400 a year for about 20 years. I told them I got a new Quote. It would be only $826 a year instead of $2,225 a year 2019-2020 price. They somehow stated, "Oh no. The new insurance quote you got from a totally different company can't be right." They said it should be $1568 a year. I went right away to sign up for the new policy and was advised by the agent, "Oh the insurance company called me back and stated they should charge you $1553."

FYI as of 7/2019 new Florida law states that private market flood insurance companies can replace the previous mandatory and only option available was FEMA insurance for flood. Now if you have a conventional loan you have the option of obtaining private flood flood insurance instead. AAA only does FEMA insurance by the way. Long story short they were saying, "Well what do you have in your garage? What kind of equipment." Why so they could look for things to raise my rate in order to not give me a fair quote for the flood insurance based on the elevation certificate. I talked to them every day for a week either by email or phone.

Finally talked to underwriter cause they were asking for pictures of my garage which they already had from the elevation certificate pictures. Underwriter said, "Oh ok I see the roof line. I will fix this and in 48 hours your refund will be processed." Called back 2 days later nothing. She I told her was documented. They said, "Oh we haven't processed anything. You need to fill out these forms." They emailed me the form with the same questions the underwriter asked me 2 days before. The agent I was speaking to had to fill out the form and they made me wait another 2 days to refund me the lowball refund.

AAA are nasty scammers that want to find any reason to not give you a refund and if that is not possible then they want to scam the crap out of you to refund you as little as possible and prolong the refund process as well. I am going to call them every day until my refund is in the mail. Stay away. AAA scammers. No integrity and most of their employees are arrogant and act like they own the company and they will be paying you out of their own paycheck. I don't recommend AAA to anyone and if you are with them run. Cancel. Find another company. They need to be out of business which I am sure they will be very soon by the looks of the reviews and how poorly they are running this company.

We have had our home insured through AAA for several years. We have never had to file a claim and never really needed to put the services to the test. An insurance company can only be accurately assessed when a need arises and the homeowner has to file a claim. We believed AAA to be a top rate company and never doubted that if we needed to file a claim, that the claim would receive prompt attention and superior service.

We recently needed to file a claim with AAA for roof damage that occurred as a result of two separate hailstorms in 2017. We discovered the problem in 2018 when a section of the roof leaked into the master bedroom. Two adjustors made an initial visit to our home, but did not ascend to the roof. The adjustors indicated there was frost on the roof and another visit would be scheduled at another time to check out the roof. The adjustors instead conducted an assessment of some sort around the perimeter of the home and took many pictures. I was not aware that this would take place and neither adjustor indicated at the time of the initial visit that a perimeter inspection of my home would be conducted.

A day or two later, we receive a voicemail to call the adjustor and an email indicating our claim had been denied. Apparently, unbeknownst to us the homeowners, an adjustor had been to the home at some point, ascended to the roof to conduct the inspection while we were away! This was upsetting as we wanted to be notified of the inspection to have a certified and qualified roofer act as our advocate and provide us with information concerning the status of the claim and sort out any insurance jargon for later follow up. Upon contacting the adjustor as to the nature of the denial, the adjustor stated there was no damage to the roof and that any damage noted from hail was due to the age of the roof.

Our home was built in 2005 and we have never had any issues. We asked several roofers to assess the roof and each indicated roof damage and provided pictures to show us. I asked the adjustor if any pictures taken could be provided as proof that he was actually on the roof. Our request was denied. We further inquired about the appeal process as we were perplexed the claim was denied. The adjustor indicated that our options were to hire an attorney or schedule an adjustor to come out or file a complaint with the state.

The adjustor further indicated that if we opted to contact the state, our only other recourse beyond that was to hire an attorney. We inquired about the credentials of the adjustor and that of the engineer. The adjustor indicated that he had some training as it relates to roof matters and material and that the structural engineer would conduct some tests the nature of which we did not understand. We opted for the structural engineer who also denied roof damage and supported denial of the claim.

This whole process was troubling as we inquired throughout the community as to storm related damage. Although many roofs in the community have been replaced by other companies due to roof damage, all homeowners within our community insured through AAA who submitted similar claims were also denied. It is perplexing that a perceived reputable company such as AAA is involved in systematically denying legitimate claims for various nefarious reasons. We are highly disappointed, plan to post a review to alert other homeowners and take a look at other insurers reviews to determine a better fit for our homeowner insurance needs.

A few days went by without a response. I called my agent several times and did not get a response. I called her manager and did not get a response. I emailed policy management and did not get a response. I finally called policy management (as I did the first time) and again, they were not able to provide the details I needed to become reinstated. Today, I received an email stating that debris needed to be removed from my yard and that low hanging branches from a tree needed to be trimmed. No details, no pictures. We are literally going in circles. We are not opposed to doing the requirements they set forth to become reinstated, but without knowing what exactly needs to be done, it's not a viable option. Additionally, our yard and house are very clean, so we are confused about what debris needs to be removed. Maybe I should apply to AAA. It sounds like I'd fit in.

With a limited timeframe and the inability to get the details of what needs to be done to become reinstated, we will most likely end up dropping AAA for homeowners insurance. AAA is terminating my policy on the basis of errors in an inspector's report. They have persistently contradicted themselves in correspondence as to the reason(s) why they are terminating my policy. The primary reason they give is that the residence is "non-owner" occupied. I have lived in this house since the day I bought. I have a rental cottage on the property that is occupied, but I am doing renovations on it, so I gave my tenant a room in the primary residence until the renovations are complete.

AAA states that having an occupant in the primary residence who is a tenant constitutes a liability. I suppose if you have a guest come and stay overnight and tree falls on the house and there are injuries and you file a claim, you're going to be disqualified because we've come to point in society where having company overnight is now considered too risky for insurance companies to issue a policy. I mean if their logic is that the tenant is in the house constitutes a liability, don't they then naturally proceed to consider anyone other than the owner a risk if they come to stay? They won't answer that question when it's asked, because they already know that that's exactly what would happen, and if you know before you sign on the dotted line, you likely won't take out a policy with their company.

Every time I've called to try and get the report corrected and amended, I have had to tell the whole story all over again, because you get somebody different every time you call. This company has so consistently failed to understand the actual conditions that exist, and written so much fiction and fairy tale about my property, they've lulled themselves into an inescapable stupor.

The notes on my account are different from agent to agent, in spite of the fact that I have stated myself and the property conditions accurately and consistently and without error or deviation each time I've talked to them. Yet the account notes that get read back to me change the story EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. And they have absolutely NO concern whatsoever with either obtaining a paying customer, nor with retaining a paying customer. They sit on their throne and issue and cancel policies at will, and without due consideration of either the facts, nor the needs of the customer. AAA is incompetent, inconsistent, and is now the subject of a consumer complaint with the State Safety and Fire Commissioner's Office because of their absolute lack of proficiency and competence in issuing a simple home owner's insurance policy. In short, stay away from AAA.

'Till the Bank person put in her two cents and the AAA service rep all of a sudden changed his tune and said "NOT MY DEPARTMENT. IT'S BILLING DEPT. ALL WE DO IS PROCESS THE CC CHARGES."

It's a joke. You are not allowed to speak to AAA billing, even the customer service reps on the phone cant talk to them, they're sealed in a soundproof room and the only way to communicate with them is by email. You ask a question, in 60 days you get a reply. Not a answer. A reply. Now a month into this and no closer to a conclusion. AAA is now what it once was for sure, the customer reps actually argue with you, then they say "not my dept" and run and hide. This says something about the "good hands" you think you're in with AAA insurance. They cant even unwind a simple screw up THEY caused and argue the fact and when confronted with the proof, they run away again and say "NOT MY DEPARTMENT". If it happen to me, it could happen to you. If the AAA billing department is hiding you have to ask yourself, if I ever had a claim how well would I be covered.

There are no trees within 100 yards of my house, and there is a city 5 million gallon water tank between any trees and my house. I cannot see any of those trees from anywhere on my lot. This is so ridiculous, I am will to sign a waiver to not be insured for wildfires. They wouldn't hear it. So I went to Costco Insurance with car and house. Six months later, I asked for a quote on car insurance, and AAA said I am not a loyal member, so they increase my auto insurance by $2,000. They cancel me, and I'm not loyal. What a bunch of **.

I went with AAA home insurance coverage for two reasons - to bundle with my auto insurance AND because they send out an inspector PRIOR to the close of escrow. One of my contingencies for closing escrow was the insurance inspection and assurance that I would NOT require specialty insurance of any kind. The AAA inspector came out to inspect the home and I closed Escrow on April 19, 2019 and thought all was fine. MUCH TO MY SHOCK AAA sent me a letter of cancellation several weeks later because the property is "on a hill!!!"

When I spoke with their office, they blamed it all on the agent - saying that he should of told of about that possibility. That is TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE - this should have been made CRYSTAL CLEAR in writing on the Dec Page and/or elsewhere! How can these insurance companies get away with this??? Now I'm looking at having to pay $700 extra per year for "speciality insurance" because AAA cancelled my policy. BUYER BEWARE - avoid AAA.

We had a slab leak. The pressure caused by excess stored water between the slab and tile caused a tile to crack and 2 others to pop. We notified our homeowners insurance, AAA. They hired Paley Stone & Tile Forensics also known as Atlas to investigate. Our existing tile was discontinued, which meant insurance should pay to replace the existing floor. Paley Stone & Tile Forensics was hired to lie and provide a report so that AAA would not be liable.

Mr. Paley came over with a metal ball and crawled around our home. His report stated ongoing exterior moisture was the cause of damaged tile. He trespassed into our home, into areas not affected by the leak, in private spaces, moved our furniture to support his claim. He stated exterior water from the garage 18 inches below our living room slab, where the leak was, was the cause, apparently water can move upwards against gravity! Upon repair of our floor, at our cost, a moisture barrier was used. The moisture barrier responded as expected, changed color once cured.

If moisture existed according to Paley, the moisture barrier would not have changed color to confirm dryness. Beware Paley Stone & Tile Forensics/Atlas and AAA work together to deny homeowners. Paley is a liar, charlatan and a con artist! He was an English teacher in South America. He is anti women and a male chauvinist, and worst of all AAA refuses to address any of our concerns/requests.

First claim: My roof had leaks in 3 places. Three AAA 'independent" adjusters claimed there was no hail damage to the shingles. However, EVER piece of metal on my roof, including siding and guttering/downspouts was totaled by all three adjusters. No one would ever explain how I had three separate roof leaks but no hail or wind damage to the shingles. It took over a year to get my roof replaced and cost me an extra $2500 in expenses to fight these liars. I had three different roofers including the AAA preferred roofer look at the roof and all said there is no way the roof isn't totaled.

Second claim 9/1/2018: Kitchen faucet failed with a pinhole leak. The leak was discovered when the downstairs bedroom ceiling collapsed. Hand-scraped wood flooring buckled in the kitchen. Over 1000SF of connected wood flooring. The first adjuster tried to only replace the kitchen flooring. I argued with him before he left and he finally agreed it should all match and measured the space at just over 700SF. I custom built the home and still have the SF of wood flooring I paid for, so I know exactly how much is needed.

This first adjuster offered $7000 TOTAL. I spent almost $7000 when I purchased the original wood floor. The second adjuster came to $12000 and the third adjuster is at $24,000. My independent adjuster is at $46,000. And again, I am having to pay people to fight this dishonest company. Instead of a $1500 deductible, I am going to spend more than $3000 to get what should have been paid immediately. Not only that but my family and I have lived with a partially demolished kitchen for months.

Because they refuse to pay the claim I cannot switch insurance companies because no company will take you with an outstanding claim. AAA has increased my rate for the third time in 3 years. I am almost at double what my original insurance was. I guess they figure if they actually have to pay a claim they will rip you off by delaying the claim and forcing you to pay outrageous insurance rates for as long as possible. Run from AAA. They don't pay their claims.

I've been a long-term loyal AAA member. My parents have always used AAA as well. AAA Homeowners Insurance, however, has been a nightmare to deal with. I've used AAA since my house was bought 5 years ago and recently started to see leaks in my roof. We live in Dallas so hail and wind damage is very frequent. We contacted AAA and had our roof evaluated and was told that only one slope of our roof would be replaced due to hail damage. We live in a condo with HOA overseeing our property. Our HOA denied the replacement of only one slope of the roof because my shingles are no longer being manufactured and any replacement shingles would not match.

I spoke to a Robert ** from AAA about that and was told "you can send in your HOA denial all you want, but it has no bearing on what we are going to cover". On top of this, there are multiple areas of my home that is experiencing leaks. The leaks are not even on the same side of the home. I'm baffled by the one slope replacement. My roofer even sent in photos to show that there are multiple areas of the home that are experiencing leaks, not just that one slope, but nothing is being done. Robert even refused to send out another inspector to look at my roof to see that there are multiple areas of the roof that are leaking and creating mold inside my home.

My phone calls were ignored and my messages unanswered. It took 3 months of calls just to get a estimate drawn up and sent to me for the 1 slope. How convenient that the estimate for the 1 slope falls within our deductible. To say I’m mad and disappointed would be an understatement. I feel betrayed by the insurance that was suppose to protect me. What is the point of insurance if they won't step up to help you when you need them? Go with any other company, don't use AAA.

After reading other reviews from this site, I have to agree with the one star rating. My home was damaged during a wind storm with a neighbor's tree falling on my house and taking out the bathroom and part of the bedroom. The only argument I did not have with them was for my hotel bill since I only have one bathroom. My claim was made on July 20, 2018 and work BEGAN on my house in mid October. My deductible and depreciation cost me more than $12,000. The whole story is too long to go into, but the biggest complaint was the roof. They would only cover a small portion of it and the contractor would not give me a warranty without the whole roof being done. I also asked the insurance guy where they were going to stop the new roof work. I never got an answer. Some of my personal property loss included antiques. Have you ever tried to find a comparable cost? Finally gave up.

My first offer of damages incurred was $18,000. I told them they were crazy and was not accepting it. My contractor's estimate was more than $40, 000 and they finally paid. This has been the worst experience of my life. I decided to turn them in to KY Department of Insurance. Unfortunately they could not help me. My claims rep left the company (or was fired) near the end of my claim. This in turn closed my case. I had to jump through hoops to get it re-opened. In the end, I was able to get back into my home on December 7, 2018, 112 days from date of claim. Truly incomprehensible. I did not wait for them to cancel me - I canceled them. PS: Their billing is as screwed up as their claim department. I did not tell them I was canceling, I just did not pay the premium. Thank goodness the time for renewal was almost up when the work was finished.

My family and I have had AAA for our home, car and rv for over ten years but have never utilized them for any claims. We recently sold our first home and bought a bigger home that was in need of some remodeling. So we started projects immediately and delayed our move in date. About four or five weeks in we get a letter stating our homeowners insurance policy will be terminated in four weeks time because we did not submit pictures of the new property and home. I was never asked to have someone come out so was annoyed by the letter stating that we failed to do so as if we were asked and denied their request. We had someone come out within a few days and we’re told that someone would call if there were issues and more action was required. I then spent the next three weeks calling and leaving several messages each with three different people that were assigned to my case and they did not ever return my calls.

I finally called the basic number so that I could speak to someone live and not be sent to voicemail. By the end of that week they helped me discover that we could not be insured because our master bath’s tile wasn’t in yet so they would in fact cancel our policy. Since it took three and a half weeks to be told this information, they cancelled our policy since the remodeling work could not finished by that termination date. They would not give me an extension of even one to two weeks despite them admitting that it was their error and that they had no explanation for people not returning my repeated calls. I could have easily had that two day tile project done if I was told in a timely manner that it was an insurance issue. But by then, my tile guy was on another job and would not be available until the following week. So I had to get another policy in the meantime.

Upon calling again and being elevated to some customer service person, I was told that it was our fault for being under construction and that no money would be reimbursed. And, conveniently, the policy that I was told to get in the meantime was some AAA side company that was very expensive and later when I looked into them, has awful reviews and is not rated well at all. So we are out several hundred dollars and had much stress because of their lack of courtesy to inform clients of potential issues, their lack of customer service to correct errors that they made, and their lack of ability to work and respect clients with a long history with them that had ZERO claims. We are switching immediately to another company.

In all the time we have had insurance with them we never have filed a claim. This year after all the wildfires in California, AAA sends us a letter wanting an inspector to come take new photos inside & out - mandatory so they can renew our policy, I called & told them we had no changes to our property and my husband and I are disabled & that they already took pictures when we bought the house and we didn't want anybody in the house. Elvis the underwriter said it was just structural pictures when I explained it was Still Christmas. We had a lot of boxes out and in our garage & our house was still a mess from the Holidays. Elvis said no problem. It is only for structural pictures.

We felt uncomfortable having them take pictures inside our home. It's invasive but reluctantly agreed since we are 1 month to renewal. Lady came. The lady said Reason was water heater not strapped, boxes were in the way, etc. She really couldn't give me a solid reason why and no time to fix it just cancelling. If we want she says we can call the phone numbers they send us on the notice of nonrenewal to call, I asked if they are connected to AAA. My home was $187,000 to purchase 2 years ago and built in the 90's. New homes are for sale near mine in a nicer area 50% larger for about $250k to 260K. After this yahoo takes photos, AAA comes back and says my home is a substantial upgrade with an attached garage (which I already told them) and would be $330k to replace!!! 330,000!!! In my area, that would get you a mansion. A new mansion!!

I argued with them telling them they were way WAY WAY OFF on their estimates. They played the blame game and blamed their underwriter which I know was total BS. I told them to look at new builds online and they can get an idea of what my home would cost. They refused. This was a bait and switch and they sent me an additional premium bill for about 40% more than I already paid. What a con they are running! Smart and manipulative and probably not even illegal. It worked out to even higher than I was paying before I switched. Just beware. I'm not the only one who had this problem with them. This is a standard maneuver for AAA when they bundle. AAA adjuster came out and determined there was wind and hail damaged, but said only enough on the front part of the four sided roof. The shingles are discontinued and every roofing contractor states, new shingles will not reasonably match per KY State law, yet AAA will not say they can reasonably match roof and have rejected my request to replace only the front and have a 3rd party Independent inspector come out and verify it does or does not reasonably match, I offered this twice and was will to pay for the inspector myself. I am still fighting this, hiring an Attorney (at my expense again). The point of this review is buyer beware of AAA Homeowners, they are the most difficult people I have ever dealt with.

AAA Homeowners Insurance was included as part of my mortgage plan through a third party lender. The company itself is okay and they are fairly easy to get in contact with and act swiftly should there be an issue with the home. The last time I filed a claim, an adjuster was out quickly and on my schedule. I've had a good experience. But the policy appears to be a bit dynamic in the fact that the rules of it tend to change and there is no grandfathering. I filed a claim a few years back in regards to something that was covered previously only to find out that it was no longer covered.

My mom had AAA for home and auto. Her homeowner's association recommended we all make sure to get an HO6 plan that would cover special assessments from the association. So we contact the agent and he sold us a policy stating that my mom would be covered if a special assessment from the HOA happened. Well, one major hail storm later and a special assessment happened. However, AAA writes a tiny little footnote that allows them to only pay a small portion of a special assessment if any of the assessment has to go toward paying the master HOA policy deductible - which will be the case for most special assessments. They did some song and dance and said that their policy doesn't have to pay out in this instance. Basically they wrote a special exception into the plan that allows them to 'not have to pay out' for most of the HOA special assessments that would ever happen.

Long story short - everyone else in the complex had insurance coverage that paid the $5,000 assessment - even though it was to go toward the deductible - except my mom. So if you are thinking of purchasing homeowners HO6 policy from them - DON'T. You'll regret it. Good business model for them since they'll never have to pay, bad for you if you use them.

Once there was a need for the adjuster to return and a new person came right away. I wish it would not increase every year. Every year it goes up about a hundred dollars. One year I got a discount for no claims and the next renewal they raised it right back up even though I had no claims. Other than that, I liked the agent the best of all I talked with. We have had ALL of our insurance through AAA for over 15 years. We have had to do a couple of car insurance claims in that time and they were wonderful. THEN we had a huge storm that damaged our home and had to open a Homeowners claim. The storm happened June 2017 and we STILL haven’t had all the damage repaired (a year and a half later). AAA refuses to pay the necessary amount to properly fix the damage.

Our roof, windows and siding were all damaged during the storm. They were fine with replacing the roof and that was done a few months later. The rest, however, has been a nightmare. For some reason, they don’t seem to believe how much it’s going to cost to replace the windows (as if we can control that). We even took it upon ourselves to get SEVERAL quotes from various window manufacturers. We are the original owners/builders of this home so we even showed the ORIGINAL order form of the ORIGINAL windows to show what brand and type they are. What more do they need?!

We just want our home returned back to the way it was... nothing extra. At this point, our contractor is at his wit's end, our house is being infested by hornets that have made a home behind the damaged siding and windows so we couldn’t enjoy our yard all summer and now it is October... that means snow is on its way (we live in Wisconsin) so any home repairs are, once again, going to have to wait until Spring.

On top of that... AAA has not responded to our contractor AFTER he talked to a manager that was “going to take care of it right away.” This was a month ago. I am not a confrontational person, but this situation has pushed me to the brink. We are honest people and we have been loyal to this company for years. I’m beyond disappointed with the way we have been treated. I didn’t ask to be hit by a hail storm, but it happened. I thought AAA would be right there for us. Instead, I feel like we have to fight tooth and nail every step of the way.

DO NOT HIRE, this guy took 2 days to install an air conditioner at my house, where it only took 4 hours for a professional. He was not able to get the unit in the attic or the outside unit on the concrete block and required my help to do it. In doing so, he set the AC down in my house and scratched the wood floors and damaged a picture.

While I was helping him get it into the attic, he was complaining that he was "in the wrong business." He asked me several times which unit he was installing, the upstairs or downstairs. 1 day later the unit has begun to leak in my attic OUTSIDE the drain pan. There was over 7 gallons of water in the drain pan as well. When I turned the unit off water poured out of the side of the unit at least a pint or two. The whole thing was a circus. He arrived late, with 1/2 the AC unit and had to drive an hour back to get the other. At 8 pm he told me that he "had to be honest, that he was beat." I explained that I had another crew coming in the morning, lucky me I had two units go out at the same time... and he needed to complete the work that evening, which he couldn't because he forgot, or ran out of oxygen to light his torch.

BEWARE, this is not a professional, and I doubt at this point that he is certified. Ridiculous and a waste of my time. In total he spent 11:30-10 pm (with one other guy and some of my help, and Friday and 9:30-4 pm on. So ~25 hrs in what Barton AC did in 4!!! Swearing, pleading his case, excuses and using my tools. Had my auto/homeowners insurance at "like a good neighbor", which was great. I had an at fault accident and consequently my rates went up, leading me to check around. AAA in Glendora Ca seemed fitting especially being a member of 30 years. So I/we had a meeting where my emphasis was to be clear and disclose everything accurately. I made it clear I wanted the correct information about me to be considered. The agent didn't seem to get it. He kept throwing in discounts which I don't want or should have. I'm not married, I don't smoke, I'm not retired. Whatever. Everything would get more reasonable if I get auto and homeowners insurance so I did. So now nearly two months in I get a letter terminating my homeowners policy. They say I'm in a brush fire is area, near a slope or hillside, and that a burglar alarm had inadvertently been applied. So guess what happens to my auto insurance rates.

I wrote a letter to my agent at AAA and he worked to escalate the issue with my claim being denied. An adjuster was sent out to record everything and my claim was approved. While the entire situation has been stressful, I am glad I was able to work everything out with AAA and that they were willing to work with me in the end.

    Original Review: Sept. 19, 2018

I live in a condo. One of my neighbors, who I share a wall with, passed away. He wasn't found for a few weeks so he was severely decomposed when they did. Due to this, and no notification to me, I ended up with maggots/larvae/pupaes/flies in my condo. So bad that the larvae were rising out of the carpet. AAA refused to look at the claim as a biohazard, as should have been done, but as an infestation to avoid paying anything on my claim. Even the companies that clean up these scenes, all the time, said that because of where the bugs came from, it was a biohazard and anywhere the flies or pupae are/land, can cause me, my family, or pets to get sick.

Doesn't matter though, AAA won't even have someone come out and inspect, they just denied the claim based on the incorrect information that was put down when I called in. How do you fully deny something when you didn't even send an inspector out? Not even a partial approval, just outright denied. I now have to spend thousands of dollars to replace carpeting (as they were under the carpet too) and clean everything to make sure I'm not living with diseased bugs. I know my other insurance is going to go up, but I'll be taking my homeowner insurance elsewhere. The lack of investigation or care on anyone's part at AAA isn't worth the couple of dollars discount. Will not be recommending AAA to anyone.

I am contacting you today because I am very upset with how this situation has been handled and how it has impacted my family. It has put a strain on 86 year old senior citizen's quality of life and her caretaker's life. AAA has made this situation physically, mentally, and emotionally straining. This “small leak” isolated to two rooms has become a homeowner's nightmare to manage due to AAA’s lack of ability to manage their work. As stated in the plumbers report, there is absolutely no evidence of where the leak came from, but it is being falsely stated and believed that it came from a crack that was dye tested and said not leaking. I had to take it upon myself to push to get the inspector about replacing the shower. It is a good thing that I did push because the inspector agreed it absolutely needed to be replaced.

The ** Family is physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted with the strain the lack of communication that has been going on since day one has caused. We started this claim on June 18th and we are almost at the three month mark and still are not close to being done. As a client of AAA, this situation has risen out of control and I will be seeking legal representation if this matter is not solved swiftly and if we are not provided a timeline for events to finish the work that needs to be completed. I will also be demanding that all costs be absorbed by AAA for negligence and for the inconvenience of getting us back into our family home. This weekend after seeing the pain and suffering that our family has sustained after being placed out of our home for a few months has pushed me to advise AAA that enough is enough.

I have even tried to speed up the process by asking BMS to not replace the carpet/flooring in hopes of getting us back into the home faster I should not have to do this. I am doing this to get my family back to a quality of life in the comfort of their own home. In the last email chain, I gave the go ahead on August 3rd, to which it was obvious that no one had a clue of what has been going on or how long we have been out of our home. The worst part, is that the contractor doesn’t even realize that there is a time frame in which the work needs to be completed. AAA should be dictating this to the companies they are working with. This was the reason I chose to use your vendor so issues would be minimized. I have forwarded Jamie ** my out of pocket I took in the beginning as requested for reimbursed.

Renters Insurance Claim - Terrible! I would never purchase a policy with AAA. My neighbors had it. I did not but their apartment flooded into my apartment for a few hours. When I returned home my apartment and belongings were so bad. I sent minimal requests for damage even though I lost more (for instance I had to pay to relocate with my 5 kids and I didn't even add those in my damage costs). Well my adjuster has been giving me the runaround for 5 months now and has just informed me that she has 3 years to settle my claim.

Well it took me 25 hours to send her all my receipts. I’m not understanding why I should have to wait so long to be reimbursed. That’s ridiculous! And then she told me to stop contacting her supervisor only contact her because she will get to it. She’s behind, AAA needs to hire people that have the time to actually DO THEIR JOB! I don’t care what you don’t have time for. You’re still getting paid. Very poor customer service if you ask me.

My agent was Chris ** in the Thornwood AAA office for decades, in the beginning he was very responsive and very accurate with all aspects of our transactions. He even responded and conducted a lot of our business via email. Things were great up until about 4 years ago for some reason. I had always recommended AAA to my friends and family until then. About 4 years ago things changed drastically not only with Chris but also with the offices and its personnel. His responses became less consistent by email up to days, then weeks then so long that I ended up having to call to reach him at all. Then even calling I was unable to reach him and left voicemails to him and his assistant.

This went on for about 4 years and only got worse. The last straw was when I NEEDED to make sure my homeowners coverage was still current and was not able to reach him or anyone who would help me at ALL. I called the office that he had been in Thornwood but they said he had moved I believe to the Capital office. I complained about the lack of responsiveness to the manager at the time who was there, but she was not interesting in dealing with the issues and said that I need to talk to him directly to clear things up, not even a sorry to hear about your experience. So I called that office but he wasn't there AGAIN. I was transferred to someone who they said was his assistant (not sure if it was just for that day) a female at the time but she also was not interested at all in my obvious description of 'very poor service' and in fact responded quite shockingly "So what do you want me to do about this?". Are you kidding me?

If a customer complains that they can't get anyone to return their call or get status on their policies, wouldn't you think a more professional and compassionate response would be, "I am so very sorry to heard about your troubles, let me see if we can't straighten this out for you now. Let me ask you some questions. I might not be able to straighten things out for you, but we will get the ball rolling", or something like that. I tried a few more minutes with her but I could tell she was not interested in assisting me, so I asked for the manager but got a supervisor instead.

A female who after I calmly explained about my original issue with Chris and the new problems with his assistants lack of interest in providing friendly customer service I got a similar response from her initially. She was not interested in helping me with my policies and she did not acknowledge that there was a issue with the staff at all at first. She referred me to the 800 number if I needed to clear things up right away, that was it! I asked her "are you at all concerned about the customer service issues I just mentioned?". She halfheartedly acknowledged by saying "yes, and what would you like me to do?" OMG seriously, this now seemed like a systemic issue with minimal or no customer service training.

I asked if I could speak to the manager, she said he would be in tomorrow BUT then she started apologizing and became more open to listening to my issues, but I was done at that point. I asked if she could have the manager of this office give me a call. She said very politely 'yes, absolutely I will let him know and have him call you as soon as he comes in'. Can you guess what happens next... Yes of course, no one called. I call the 800 number that day and cancelled all 5 of my policies that day! (2 cars, 1 rental, 1 home, 1 earthquake). I was really shocked I have been with AAA for over 30 years and they used to have the very best people and service. Not sure what has happened in that last 4 years but they ** suck now.

I am writing this review because I want the consumer to do their homework, ask questions and get everything in writing before you purchase Insurance from this well-known company. I purchased renters insurance through AAA Jan 19, 2017, after a friend told me that she had it with them and it would cost less than a hundred $ for a year. I had never needed or been asked to purchase this insurance for a rental before. I called them up and was sold renters insurance over the phone by just providing the address of the complex and my personal info. A few mins later I received an email that I had to use a special code to access to sign my documents. Paid with my debit card and then received a copy of my renter's insurance Declaration.

Fast forward 11 months and I go to file a claim and was told it wasn't covered. Turns out the only thing covered is Fire, theft, burglary, water damage if it's to my personal property and a few other natural disaster events, oh and someone gets hurt while they are at my house. When the salesman sold me the policy, he said that my personal belongings were covered up to $20,000 if they were damaged or stolen. He never mentioned that it was only for very specific causes of damages. How is this even legal to sell things without being upfront about what is really covered.

My apartment was exterminated and the chemicals that were used were not EPA approved and so we lost almost everything we owned and Triple A said, "Sorry it's not covered by your policy." Oh and when you buy your policy, supposedly, they can't email you the contract of what is and what is not covered. It has to be mailed to you. I never received a contract in the mail so I can only go by what they are telling me over the phone. I have no proof of what I was told and can't access the email because the code is only good for a few days then expires and the codes are computer generated so no one knows them. After this event and them not paying for another claim we canceled all of our insurance with them. Something needs to be done to stop this company from taking advantage of so many people.

In April I moved my auto and home insurance with AAA. I was informed that there would be a person to take pictures about 3 weeks ago (early June 2018). I am a disabled person and I informed them that I was not able to clean my house. I did have stuff on my sofa but my house otherwise was clean. I got a notice in the mail that my home and earthquake insurance was going to be canceled in July. I did not get a reason why. I called AAA and the underwriters told my agent that my house was not insurable because of overgrowth in the backyard (I was doing yard work when the pictures were taken, and I fixed it). They said my pool was green, it wasn't, everything is automatic), they stated my house was a fire hazard because it was not clean (hoarder style), like I said that was not the case I had sewing stuff on my couch... This was the first time.

The second time they had someone come and take pictures again, everything was clean, my yard was completed. I called today 06/15/18 to see what was going on. The underwriters apparently told my Franklin that my house was in disrepair and was not insurable but they would not give any other explanation. So ultimately they canceled my policy. I canceled my membership, auto, and well my homeowners was already canceled without warning. NEVER EVER GO WITH AAA. Their underwriters are very rude and really invasive. They buttered me up in April just to cancel me 2 months later. It was obvious they had no business or interest in actually insuring my house. It seems that they just want some quick, no work money. I feel sorry for the customer service and insurance agents because they try hard to get some money by getting policies and I had no issues except them making excuses for the underwriters' behavior.

We have had AAA for more than 34 years. Our house was built in 1984. The family room flooring is grouted porcelain tile over linoleum on a concrete slab, I think. The original homeowner installed the flooring before we bought the house 28 years ago. March, 2018, we called AAA to report a one foot area in our family room floor made a squishy sound when you walked over it and it was growing. AAA sent a 3rd party field rep to look at the area and ordered a leak detection company to inspect for a leak.

First leak detection plumber walked over the squishy area and agreed it sounded like water. Plus he pointed out the tile flooring was raised up and moved when you walked on it. He checked all over the area but found no water seeping between the tiles or wet baseboards. He wanted to check behind our wet bar wall for water leaking. He also checked the water pressure, shuts off the incoming water to the house and put a gauge on. He notes a slight variance in water pressure. He cameras our clean out drain and does not see any leaks. He drills a hole into the raised floor grout and air blows out.

3rd party field rep returns for follow up and said no leak was found by the plumber. No one drills into the squishy tiled area to check if there is water there. Meanwhile, the squishy floor and raised area continues to increase in size. We are thinking the first plumber will come back to check behind the wet bar wall which is the closest water source to the problem area. He never returns. Two weeks later we get a letter from AAA stating we have a slab leak and they don't cover slab leaks. What slab leak are they talking about???

April, 2018, call AAA claims about their letter. We are surprised they report it's a slab leak. I ask them to send plumber again to show us the slab leak. New leak detection plumber comes out. He retests the water pressure and states no change in water pressure was found. He won't drill into the squishy floor to find out why it squishes.

Finally, May, 2018, a letter from AAA arrives stating we have a slab leak (with zero physically proof) and they don't fix slab leaks. AAA claims the recent rains caused the problem of water seeping into the slab. Plus the house was still settling. Also the problem area is in a high traffic area which caused the tiles to loosen and raise up. We are extremely disappointed with AAA. The tile floor is in the kitchen, family room, laundry room, all areas of high traffic. AAA NEVER physically proved it is a slab leak. They only proved they will not determine why the floor is squishy and raised. AAA left us to fend for ourselves. What's the point of having homeowners insurance with them? Are there better ones out there?

She only cared about the fact that my deductible is $1000 and that I will be getting a call from an inside adjuster.

I asked Ms. ** who and when as this situation was urgent, and she was doing nothing but YELLING at me as if I had no right to speaking to her anymore and that It's my problem not hers... or AAA. Left him my number, case number and asked for a return call. Well Never received a call either from him. I did what thought was best for me. I called my own Emergency Service for water damage, and scheduled my own appt for Tuesday 8 am. I then got a call from a company that apparently was from the Insurance company's Emergency Service at 4:30 pm Monday 13th, 2017. I asked the gentlemen what did it take him 24 hours to call me. He stated that he just got the information from AAA about 3:30 pm and was given the wrong number, and he had to call them back to get my correct number... (WHAT A JOKE).

I told him that I already hired someone to come to my house tomorrow morning and his services are not needed. So I had to do it myself when this company gets my MONEY monthly. I then got another call from the Outside adjuster to come to my house. He will be coming tomorrow at 10:30 am to see the damage.

I am looking for the address of the Headquarters of AAA, for this branch that these people work at as I need to let management know what is going on, which I'm sure is not the first time that this has happened with this group of people. DO NOT HIRE AAA (KEYSTONE) AS YOUR HOME OR AUTO CARRIER.

We filed a claim on Sept. 4th for a busted water heater that damaged all but 2 rooms of our house. It is now Nov. 2nd and we are still living in our bedroom. Our floors, walls, cabinets, personal items, etc. were damaged. We still have no work done because AAA has it "in review" as they take 15-25 days to ever answer any questions, emails. We even called our adjustor's supervisor to take it to the next level and they have not responded via email or phone call. They simply do not care. They sent an "inspector" - not an adjustor - to our home 2 days after reporting the water damage. She literally was walking next to the remediation company so there is no way she saw all of the damage as the remediation company even came back 4 days after she was there to continue the tearing up of the water damaged walls and cabinets.

We finally got a call of a settlement of $6,000 on Sept. 29th (25 days to get that to us!) and it was about a third of what 3 contractors told us was needed. We told her that on the phone and she said to submit the bids. We got the $6000 check on Oct. 4th. Submitted a contractor bid on Oct. 18th (it took him that long to fit us in) and now it's in "review" and they will not email or call us to let us know what is happening. It's now Nov. 2nd and we are hearing crickets. Worst customer service ever. And since they are in Oklahoma, they send out an inspector so there is no one local to even talk to when you need help. The adjustor is on a different time zone so that is also a factor in trying to call in between working hours. I cannot believe they won't return emails or phone calls. I hate to get a lawyer because of the expense but we don't have a choice, it seems. RUN, RUN as fast you can away from AAA Homeowners Insurance.

Horrible experience buying a home insurance policy with AAA south at Fort Myers! The insurance issues have been going on for 2 months now and not yet settled. The insurance company sent an email to the sales agent Stephanie ** asking for repairs and inspection, which she didn't tell me in time! I tried to reach her so many times before Hurricane Irma came to find out if the policy had been set up correctly, but she wouldn't return my call or send an email response. Later the company sent me a bill asking for more premium and they were going to cancel the policy because the paperwork was not filed properly. I had to find out all this via AAA's 1-800 number because this sales agent Stephanie ** wouldn't do her job! I reported this to her boss John **, but he kept supporting her! I would stay away from the Fort Myers branch of AAA for home insurance!!
