I have a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. On April 2005, I purchased a service plan for five years which would expire on April 2010. I received a renewal form on April 2008 which would cover me for an additional year. It claimed that my washer and dryer was out of contract.

I needed service on my washer so on July 24th 2009, I talked with Allison and I was told that my warranty expired on April 2008. I went through my records to find that I paid them through April 3rd 2011. I was told that they would issue me a new agreement number so that I can call for service. I did not hear from them so I called and talked with Nicole on September 2nd. She said that I would get a call back and I talked with Brad. He said to fax, at 812-542-2387, proof to Supervisor Janet. I faxed five pages and I received a call back with a new contract number which I was assured that it was through April 2011.

I called for service in December 2010 and talked with Angelique, who told me that my contract has expired. I told them that it expires April 2011. She reviewed my record and said that I was correct and it would be submitted for a new contract number so that I may get my washer repaired. They would call me with new number in a few days. I called back on January 4th 2011 and talked with Tina. She told me the same thing. I called back on January 12th 2011 and she said that it was not processed and she would do it today.

I am very upset that they are dragging their feet and hoping to drag this out until April 3rd 2011, when my contract expires. I feel that they owe me additional time on my contract.

My washer leaks and would like to get it fixed. I asked for a supervisor and they claim that they are the supervisor. They have been trying to cheat me.

Update 1/4/10: I finally received a reply from Whirlpool. In short (the way I understood it), they said that no they will not stand behind their product and that I should be happy with the warranty covering the repairs. Never mind, this washer will be useless within months of the warranty being up (just like it's useless now as we wait for them to replace 'all the guts' of it). And never mind that we paid several hundred dollars in good faith of receiving a machine that would work for more than mere months and would not destroy thousands of dollars in clothing.

Update 1/27/10: Because of what a serious problem this washer is (and I'm sure it will continue to be), I contacted the Whirlpool representative who contacted us through another consumer review site I posted these all on first. I asked if there was any way we can return and be refunded for the washer as it's an obviously defective model and replacing the parts is only going to last a few months before we start this whole process over again, destroying more clothing and shortly having to also pay out of pocket for the repairs. I will update with what we are to be told.

My wife and I purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer combo (over $3,000) from the Columbus, GA store. We had to wait over three weeks for delivery. When they finally delivered it, they could not get the dryer to work. We had to wait two more days for a tech person to come by. He did come by and had it working. The next day, the washer and dryer stopped working. We contacted the customer solution center and they said it would be over a week before someone could come by.

After much complaining, they finally moved it to three days later (Monday, in which I would have to take off again). Finally, I tried the local store to see if they could help. After much exasperation, I asked them to pick up the units and refund our money. They said it would be a week before they could pick them up. It would be another 7 to 10 days after then before we would get our money back. It is a shame that they are only nice and helpful when they are trying to sell you something. We will never step foot in another Sears store or purchase anything from them online!

I had bought a Whirlpool duet sports washer and dryer in March of 2009. Ever since I bought this machine it has screwed up. The majority of the time I would wash clothes I would get errors, some the same, sometimes they would be different. My clothes would get locked into the machine but luckily after dealing with this problem so many times, I figured out how to get them out myself.

I have had a repair man come out three times, most of the time he pulled a sock out and said that is the problem. Well he was only here less than 2 months ago and the other day when I went to wash my clothes, on top of the bouncing off the floor sound that the washer always makes, there was a weird clicking noise. I ran downstairs and went to open the machine and literally, the whole front piece was not attached! I had to move around the washer to actually get into since it was 3 feet away from where it was supposed to sit.

Luckily, it was not full of water to go everywhere at that point or we would have had a mess. I called Whirlpool to ask who they were sending out today and they told me the same guy! When I called a week ago, we agreed upon someone else since this guy was not fixing the problems! I am mad. I told them to shove it and I would find a way to buy a new washer and never again will I buy Whirlpool products or recommend them.

We purchased on 7-04-10 a Whirlpool washer model #WFW9150WW00 Type 832-A from Lowe's Hardware on Calvine Rd, Elk Grove, CA. On Thanksgiving Day, 2010, our washer suddenly ceased working, flooding our floor. On the Friday following Thanksgiving, we contacted Whirlpool who set a service appointment for 12-01-10. The repair person informed us that we needed a part, called a bellow, and that it would be sent to our home by December 10, 2010. On 12-13-2010, after having received no bellow, Whirlpool informed us that the part was "back-ordered" until at least 12-24-10, and would be mailed then.

We were repeatedly placed on hold for lengthy periods of time, and hung-up on by Whirlpool, when attempting to find a more reasonable solution than waiting a month for our washer to be repaired. We are a family of eight, with six children, and do approximately 2-3 loads of wash a day. This major inconvenience in our lives has caused us to spend an average of $6.00 a day at the laundry mat. We were repeatedly misinformed and misled by Whirlpool as to when our part would arrive, and what the corporation could do to help us.

We are concerned that the bellow will be a recurring problem and perhaps a design flaw, and have demanded a that Whirlpool offer us the ability to return, or exchange, our appliance for one that does not require this part. They have been unreceptive, and thus far unwilling to help us in this manner, leaving us without any reasonable laundry options for, at this point, a minimum of one month.

    We are extremely dissatisfied.

The Whirlpool Duet washer is defective. We purchased this on 8/23/2006 and it was defective from the beginning. It vibrates violently in the spin cycle and then walks - not a little but a lot. We had service repairmen out many times during the warranty and then spent extra money for the extended warranty. No matter what, no one can solve the problem. We would never buy this product again. We would like Whirlpool to replace it.

I am staying in Shillong. I bought a Whirlpool washing machine "Whitemagic Pro 700H" from Guwahati in February 2010. It stopped working sometime in the month of October 2010. Since then, I have contacted everyone, right up to the office of their VP Sales, but all I have given is assurances, apologies or just plain another number to contact. This, too, while my machine is in warranty period. Also, I have come to know that mine is not an isolated case, but almost everyone in Northeast is facing the same problem because this self-proclaimed world leader in home appliances is unable to shift its warehouse at Guwahati since the last two months and has not bothered to make any alternate arrangements for its suffering customers. This is not just incompetence but also criminal breach of warranty conditions.

I bought a top of the line Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Energy Star high efficiency top loading washing machine in Feb 2007 at Pacific Sales in Torrance, CA for $777 (including delivery, installation, and haul away--a really good price at the time).

My wife has complained from the beginning that it does not clean well. It had a problem while under warranty that the service guy said was probably caused by too much detergent, which would cause overusing and overwork the pumps that empty the machine (and also maybe not make the clothes as clean). I warned my wife (who in turn told our housekeeper) not to put too much detergent in.

She continued to complain about the clothes not being clean, and she started using Oxyclean in addition to regular (HE) detergent. Today, the repairman came out because the machine in very noisy. He said the main bearings are shot. Estimate for repair is $850. He said this model is poor design, lots of problems. The current model has a better design, but he is not sure it will actually hold up better. He said maybe I could complain to Whirlpool and get free or discounted repair parts, but the labor is still going to be $400 or so. I am not going to pay more to repair this machine than I paid for it or I could replace it for. I am thinking it is better just to buy a low tech low efficiency direct drive machine--cheapest I can find. The repair guy says there are built like a tank and problems are few and cheap to fix. I wonder how long it would take the water and gas bills to increase enough for that to be more costly.

Now I am afraid to use it because I had towels and clothes with big holes on them. I hate this machine. I now have an expensive machine in my garage and here I am washing our clothes with my hand.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer & Dryer set on 12/23/2006 from a local appliance store. My sister purchased the same set a few weeks after my purchase. This past February, my washer started giving a digital code of "F50", and would not spin. The appliance store where I purchased the machine from sent their service technician out to diagnose the problem. He installed a central control part and another part. The washer started roaring like a jet engine during spin cycles the end of March. The service tech came back out 4/1/2010 and said the center bearing had gone bad and it would cost approx. $300 to repair. I declined at that time, thinking that I could buy a new machine for not much more than that.

Ironically, my sister's washer started doing the same thing during the summer. The service tech told her to contact the manufacturer to see if they would pay for the center bearing. Whirlpool provided her with the part and all she had to pay was the labor cost. They installed the new center bearing in September and the machine is working like new. On 10/21/2010, I contacted Whirlpool Customer Service to file a formal complaint. I spoke with Diana, customer service rep. She asked me to have the appliance store fax her documentation on the parts that had been replaced on my machine. Once they received the fax, they would review and get back in touch with me.

I never heard back from Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool again 11/2/2010 and spoke with a different rep named Darren. Darren confirmed they did receive the fax on 10/22/2010 from my service tech. This was noted in their system by Sally **. He went on to say that my request had been denied because it was one year after the warranty expiration. I asked him why they replaced the center bearing on my sister's machine which was the same age as mine and she did not have extended warranty. He could not give me a reason.

I have viewed several other complaints on the internet that were concerning the same problem. On the second repair service call, I was quoted $489.00 for repair by replacing suspension rods. The tech was uncertain if this would solve the problem. It seems to be a manufacturing defect. Will Whirlpool replace my washer with a new one that is a non-defective model?

This is supposed to be top of the line top load Whirlpool Washer. We bought a set of Washer and Dryer when they first came out three years back. We moved to the Gulf and took them with us. The little over 1 year old washing machine had stopped advancing beyond loading up water into the drum. Did every bit of troubleshooting advice to no avail. No local Whirlpool service had accepted to look at the unit, not even for a fee for service. They have no experience with the unit since the local vendor never carried that advanced model. Ended up with a useless piece of metal sitting in the corner of one of the bedrooms (I had to move it out of the laundry compartment and rent another one out). So much so for the reputation of Whirlpool. I definitely regret this purchase.

On Oct 15, 2010, I renewed a service contract with Whirlpool extended service for 2 items: Whirlpool Washer - contract number **; GE Dishwasher - contract number **. I purchased a 3 year contract, totaling $649.75, after asking numerous questions, with emphasis placed on the refund policy with the sales representative. I do not recall the name of the representative I spoke to when the purchase was made. The rep informed me that I would be able to revise the term or cancel my contract with a full refund within 60 days, and to call back if I decided to cancel or make changes to the contract, i.e. choosing 1 year instead of 3 years.

On 10/19/10 at 7:15 pm, I called the number listed herein, and asked the rep to change the contract to 1 year. The rep informed me that she could not assist me because all revisions/cancellations must be made in writing. I informed her that the sales rep did not disclose this information to me when the purchase was made and requested to speak to a supervisor to see if anything could be done. I was transferred to rep Lori, who identified herself as the ' floor supervisor' and provided her rep number ** on request, having declined to disclose her last name, saying "We're not required to give out our last names." I repeated my request and also expressed my frustration with what I felt was misrepresentation on the part of the sales rep.

Lori informed me that the renewal notice indicated these terms on the back of the notice, and though she stated she would review the recording of the conversation I had with the sales rep, she was only able to provide me with the address to which I could direct my request for cancellation, as any revisions would require a cancellation and then a reprocessing of a new contract . The instructions she provided were to write to the company cancellation division (listed herein), including my name, address, phone, policy numbers and request cancellation. I asked if there was a way to call, she stated there was no phone number to call. I asked when should I expect to hear from them.

She stated they would get back to me upon receipt of my letter and could not give me a time estimate. I asked if she could contact them in her role as representative and she stated her department does not do this. She concluded the conversation by stating, "You can call our number with any questions regarding your contract at the number listed herein," and stated her records indicated that a copy of the new contract listed as having been mailed out.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio wash machine in January of 2008 (model no. WTW6600SG2). In August of 2010, the washer developed a loud noise when it was in the spin cycle. We contacted the dealer we purchased the machine and they said that it sounded like the bearing in the outer tub assembly was bad. They went on to say Whirlpool had a problem with some of the bearings a subcontractor had made for them. The repairman came, and sure enough, he said we needed part no. W10128830.

He suggested we call Whirlpool directly and perhaps they would send the part with no charge. I called Whirlpool and while they were very courteous, they said they would have to charge me for the part. I called back my dealer and asked if they could help me out with Whirlpool. The dealer called Whirlpool and they agreed to sell me the part at 25% off which came to $427.04! After the labor bill, I could probably buy a new washer. I called my dealer to inquire about the cost of a new washer and they said the $427.04 sounded too high. They called Whirlpool and discovered Whirlpool said I also needed to purchase part no. W10296143.

The repairman called his Whirlpool service representative and the service representative said just the one part was needed. I got the one part shipped to me for $194.24 and the labor bill was $65.00. The washer is working fine now. I'm just thankful I purchased from a reputable dealer who went to bat for me, Fellows Appliance in North Platte, NE!

Bottom line, I think Whirlpool has a problem with the Cabrio washing machine. The previous washer we had lasted us 23 years with no problems the first 10 years and minimal problems until it finally wore out. I thought the Cabrio was supposed to be one of Whirlpool's better products. In my opinion it is not.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer in July 2009 for $1900. I had three service calls in the first year and was told basically I didn't know how to do laundry. I have been doing laundry the same way for 57 years all using Whirlpool washers and dryers. My clothes do not come clean, are not soft and are being ruined.

The last serviceman sent out by Whirlpool told me the cause was the high speed of the spin cycle which helped the clothes dry faster; therefore, both the washer and dryer earn the energy star rating. Are these machines tested by the government before receiving these ratings? I bought these appliances to save water and energy to insure a better world for my grandchildren. It uses more of both to try and do a decent laundry. Be aware that Whirlpool now owns Maytag and KitchenAid and who knows what else. I will never buy anything with these brand names again.

It cost me more to do laundry now because I wash and use an extra rinse and then use an extra rinse and spin cycle. I also use white vinegar in the rinse cycle to get them to rinse better. I use a He soap, which cost more, and two dryer sheets trying to have soft towels. Finally, I realized the reason for hard clothes was because the high spin speed is taking the terry off my towels and wearing out all our clothes. It is impossible to get a sparkling white wash with this washer. I ask Whirlpool to take it back and give me a regular agitator washer even trade and they refused. Where do I go from here?

This unit still does not work.

The only help Maytag offers is to spend more money on parts and service that might not fix the problem! After investing several thousand dollars purchasing these units, I would expect a better product and better customer support than what I am receiving. While trying to repair this washer I received several recall notices about several other appliances that I own that have been manufactured by Whirlpool/Maytag. It appears to me that Whirlpool/Maytag is only interested in my money and they do not care how they get it! All correspondence with Whirlpool/Maytag has been by me to them; they have not ever contacted me to check the repair status on this unit.

Motor cost $200. Motor control unit, $220. Time spent was approximately 6 hours. Every week since the problem started, I had one trip to the laundry mat and the money lost to someone else for use of their machine. I had to move this machine. It has caused undue stress physically on myself and my wife as well as having to move the laundry in and out the house and laundry facility.

I purchased a Whirlpool Calypso Washing Machine in April of 2004. I wanted to communicate it is the worst purchase of my life. It is poorly engineered and we have experienced numerous issues with the performance of this washer. Feel free to pass this along to your R&D department. We have been a dedicated customer of Whirlpool and Maytag, but the inferiority of this product forces me to rethink the quality of their brand. In an effort to launch an innovative design while keeping product costs at a minimum, Whirlpool may have sacrificed quality in the process. I have been extremely patient and now have reached an intolerant point. As the washer ages, problems mount.

Here are the issues we have experienced the past 4-5 years. I can safely assume this isn’t the first you’re hearing of this. (1) The water outlet clogs easily and frequently from lint and soap residue. The issue occurs regularly enough where I keep the back panel off the machine. (2) Periodically an odor from this residue is transferred onto the cloths. (3) Lighter clothing items, such as socks and undergarments pass by the inner gasket in the drum and clog the water discharge. We purchased a mesh laundry bag to help prevent this from happening. (4) We now have larger items getting caught in the inner gasket and drum tearing and twisting cloths and ruining zippers. The bottom line is it is now damaging clothes forcing us to look at purchasing another washer. If it were one chronic issue, I may consider repair, but I don’t foresee any sustaining resolution to the issues stated.

This is my second washer in less than one year. The first one was a Maytag front loader, supposedly the best and most expensive. What a joke. After two months after use, our clothes came out of the washer and stunk, plus clothes didn't come clean. Only to find out you have to do run the washer once a month with dishwasher cleaner. How does that save energy? More electricity, water and propane for the hot water. Got rid of it and got a Whirlpool top load, obviously whoever came up with putting all these sensors in these machines think they know more than the person who wants to have clean clothes.

We farm and get very dirty. When I want to wash in hot water, there's a reason for it, to get the clothes cleaned only to have some stupid sensor that won't let it fill to the top with just hot water. I give up. I want a washer that does what I tell it to, not some sensor some idiot came up with for the machine for whatever stupid reason. The new washers out there today, as far as I'm concerned, are all junk! If you know of a washer when you turn it to hot it actually runs hot to top plus actually gets clothes cleaned and doesn't stink after a few loads without extra maintenance, please let me know which one it is!

Here we go again, it is Oct 2010 and the same exact issue has happened again. Called Whirlpool, they made an appointment for repairman to come over. Much to our surprise, this guy told me that the "mother board" on these Cabrio machines had a recall and that the first time I called about it I should not of been charged, due to the recall. He even gave me the recall number. Since the board had been replaced by the Sears repairman this guy said he has to charge us to change it again.

While he was fixing it, he showed me that it wasn't even the right board that was supposed to go in this machine. It should have a purple sticker on it and this one had a yellow one, and it should not say "made in China", which mine does. When I called Whirlpool, they gave me so many bogus stories, one, they had no record that I even called in Mar 2009 nor did they have record that I had just called on Fri Oct 9th which was only 4 days earlier. Once I mentioned about the recall, I was told there had never been a recall on this model and the repairman didn't know what he was talking about. I will keep doing what I have to do to get to the bottom of this issue and in the future we will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance ever.

Bought my Cabrio washer in June 2007 and had no problems up until last week. Spin cycle seems to be stuck on extra high and sounds like a jet taking off!

I've tried changing the wash cycle, adjusting the spin speed but it stays on high no matter what I do. Can't imagine that this is good for the machine or my clothes. Called Whirlpool and they don't show anything in their troubleshooting about spin speed and suggested that I contact a repair service. I mentioned that I had researched this problem on the web and noticed that there had been lots of complaints about not only this washer but this specific problem. She was not aware of any problems, so I asked her how I could register a complaint. She gave me the address to write Whirlpool. Sure that will be successful and said that she would note my complaint on my records! And again suggested that I contact a repair service.

Having paid about $1000 for this washer 3 years ago and as others have mentioned, expected it to last at least 8-10 years as my previous, less expensive washer I have. I am extremely disappointed and will not purchase another Whirlpool product. I would also be interested if a class action suit is pursued as a result of these complaints.

We spent approx. $1000 on this machine new, about 3 1/2 years ago. The performance was great for the first 2 1/2 years. Then we began to get F codes. There is a design flaw in the circuit board, which results in scoring of a board rendering the machine inoperable. We found instructions for how to repair this on the web, so were able to do so without purchasing parts (note: my husband is a pretty handy guy). This took the better part of 1 day to do.

Fast forward six months, and the spin cycle is becoming louder and louder, until it sounds pretty much like a jet engine. Next, the start button fails. We again find instructions on the web on how to remove the console. We super glued the plastic button on as a temporary measure, and ordered a new console ($175) to replace this one when it eventually fails for good. Meanwhile, husband decides to look into why the washer is now drowning out all other sound during the spin cycle. Looking into this, (again web-based research), we find that: a) it is a failing bearing, and b) we cannot replace it without replacing the entire tub, as the bearing is sealed in. This is $600. We are now going to return the console (haven't put it on yet), and use the money from that return to finance a new washer.

Although Whirlpool says, "That's okay because it's only cosmetic!" No amount of discussion with Whirlpool has resulted in any satisfactory agreement with regard to the replacement of this ridiculously inferior piece. The same part, which is the water sensor, has broken four times, beginning in December of 2009, then again in March of 2010, May of 2010 and August of 2010. Every time this has happened, the machine won't fill with water. I called the number. I am told that since it didn't break down within 30 days of purchase, they won't replace it but they will repair it. I have had a Whirlpool representative ask me what I wanted him to do about the washer and I told him to come get it and replace it but they refuse to do that.

I have to schedule an appointment with the repair service, take time off from work to be at home when they come and am without a washer for the time from the break down to the time of repair. The first two times it broke down, I was without a washer for a total of about three weeks because the part was back ordered because it was breaking on all the washers. Lowe's actually found the part and sent it to me the second time but the repair service found the part around the same time and I let them use their part.

It is a $400 washer and Whirlpool has spent at least that much in time, money and repairs. Obviously the machine is a lemon but they refused to replace it. I don't understand that corporate mentality. Today, their representative told me that if it broke again, which would be no. 5, they would send it up for review. The last representative told me when it broke the 3rd time that if it broke again, they would send it up for review. They don't have a "policy" per se about if or when to replace a lemon.

I know that I will never purchase another Whirlpool product of any kind and everyone who knows me will never purchase a Whirlpool product either. In the 11+ months I have had the washer, it has not worked for approximately five weeks. Numerous phone calls, hours on hold, four days off of work to wait for repairman, trips to go do laundry at other places, but mostly irritation with Whirlpool and their representatives.

I'm actually very dissatisfied with the washer and dryer. The washer is leveled properly and is on the main floor and when I'm upstairs, I can feel the shaking of the washer when it's on the spin cycle. We have had it checked and they don't know why it does that. With the dryer, the lint trap liner keeps coming out when I pull out the lint trap. Now, we also have a Whirlpool disher, brand new, and we have had a previous one that also didn't clean well. The agent at Olums Furniture told us that it might be leaving food on the dishes because we are not supposed to pre-rinse first. That it needs the dirty dishes to stay dirty in order to clean properly. We have done that now with our new dishwasher and things still do not come clean. I am very unhappy with Whirlpool products and would like an answer on what to do. Thank you for any help you can give me.

The Whirlpool Cabrio is the absolute worst washing machine ever built. I'd rather have a bucket and washboard! A few years ago, I spent a lot of money ($1000) on this Cabrio piece of junk from Whirlpool. It will not stay balanced, regardless of the size of load. I get the "F" code often. I get the "uL" (out of balance) code. And, I get a bunch of other codes. I can get it fixed for about half the price of the original machine -- great deal, huh? It has cost me about 4 times the amount of electricity and water than any other washing machine because of the need to repeat the cycles from where it left off at the time of the error code.

The Cabrio is garbage and Whirlpool will do nothing about it because they are obviously not concerned with customer service, fixing their defective machines, or selling quality products. Because of the rotten service, total lack of support, and extreme costs associated with this machine (initial costs, water and electricity), I will never buy another Whirlpool product and will continue to advise all my friends and family to stay away from Whirlpool products! I am interested in a class-action lawsuit against Whirlpool and would gladly join as a plaintiff on any legal actions against Whirlpool concerning the Cabrio washing machine!

I bought the Cabrio washer and dyer in November 2006. Before it was a year old, the washer was giving me the "F1" code. I called and they sent someone out to repair it and it required the computer board to be replaced. The catch on dryer door had also fallen out requiring me to change the orientation of the door to make it work. Then in April of 2010, I disconnected the washer and turned the water off to it, just like the manual said because I would not be using it for awhile. It is in my house and I left the air-conditioner on.

When I came back at the end of May 2010, and hooked the washer back up, it would not run. Every time I try to run it, it gets to the wash cycle, it drains. After it drains, it flashes "oL", indicating that it is overloaded. It does it no matter what is in the tub. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance. I had bought a Whirlpool freezer about 6 months before I bought the washer and dryer, and it went out when it was just over a year old. Everything I have seen indicates that it will cost in excess of $200.00 to repair. The repair for the freezer was almost $200.00. I replaced it.

My complaint is not against Lowes because they have always taken care of any issues. However, I always thought Whirlpool was a good brand but I will never purchase anything from them again. We bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer from Lowe's around 6/30/2010. It was hooked up on July 31, 2010. I noticed when I used it that the soap dispenser releases the soap, bleach, and softener all at the same time. Also, if the soap is added first, it goes right into the wash as I am loading it. I ruined two shirts and some towels because of this. I called Whirlpool and they said I needed a service man to come in, that it is internal. I explained I just got the washer, used it maybe 3 times, and it is brand new. They did not care. They said I needed it to be serviced.

They were very nasty with me. I said I would return the washer and dryer then to Lowe's and they said, “Then do that.” Why would I service a brand new washer I just bought? This is not for litigation. Lowe's is taking care of it. I just wanted to complain about Whirlpool who doesn’t care about their customers. Now I have to bring it down a flight of stairs, travel an hour to get to Lowe's, and then have to order a new one. My complaint is against Whirlpool for the aggravation. I spent a lot of money on this set, duet steam, and they could not care less. I will never buy a product from Whirlpool again.

It will cost you more to fix it than if you just go buy a new one."

What? I just spent over $700 on this over 2 years ago. I am still using it and I get a "work-out" every Monday mornings (day- I do laundry. ) I have to reset and reset and reset and move around the close and turn the adjetator etc. every load, then sometimes resetting if it doesn't work so I have to drain the water and rinse and drain the load or drain and spin. I love it when it takes me 6 hours to wash 4 loads.

Please email me if they recall this crappy machine. I feel stuck using the washer. I can't afford another one for a long while. I have never had all the electronic problems with the washer that others are reporting. I bought it three years ago and have had no issues with it. It is not, however, a good product. Because it is an HE washer, it uses very little water and I believe this is why it simply does not clean clothes well. We have four dogs with the resulting hair and it washes very little hair out of clothing, bedding, etc. We have to run it through several cycles to get the hair off enough to allow the dryer to handle the rest. I'm very disappointed with the product. If we could adjust it so that it adds more water to the tub, I think this would fix our issues. Whirlpool states that it isn't possible to change the water levels. We spent $1800 on the washer and dryer combo. We'd have been better off with a much cheaper washer.

Whirlpool said it was from the detergent I used (I used the HX2). The tech said it was from change and things getting sucked down and not being able to retrieve them. The second pump went almost exactly a year later in 2009, and the third pump went almost exactly a year later, two months ago (2010). We are paying for the new pumps, and luckily my husband can install them.

There is definitely a flaw in the manufacture of this machine. There should be a strainer of sorts to prevent items from getting to the pump. I'm not sure what we are doing next, but we would not buy another Whirlpool item. We are paying for the new pumps (we are replacing both each time). We are having to take our laundry to a laundromat. I continue to get an error code F51. It used to come on just during the washer cycle, now it comes on when turning the washer on, which results in having to turn the washer completely off and try again to start. This usually takes about 3 times. If it makes it through this, you still get the error code during the cycle, which when the code comes on the cycle stops, and you have to rearrange and hope it works. That may last a few minutes before you have to do it again. Usually, you have to shut off the washer, let it drain, then put it through the drain and spin cycle and hope it makes it through that. It odes this no matter the washer load size, sheets or one pair of panties its the same.

I have already spent over $300 in the first year to have it fixed. Whirlpool will not acknowledge there is a problem with these washers but are more than happy to help you schedule a repairman and your personal request at least that was the way it was the first time I called. We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer-- supposedly the latest in energy and water saving. When clothes began to come out torn and damaged i.e. underwire bras mangled beyond repair, pockets on pants ripped shirts twisted to the point of shredding, we allowed the washer to fill and then checked it level. The water level was so minuscule that the clothes were mangled. Because of this wringing, the clothes were majorly wrinkled. Onto the dryer... We were advised by our sales rep at Appliance Smart that the heat sensors in these dryers cause us not to be able to use the dryer sheets because they cause a film to build up on the sensor and it stops working. So no dryer sheets and twisted, mangled clothes makes for very wrinkled clothing and lots of ironing.

More work, more cost to replace expensive clothing not to mention the emotional trauma of favorite items being ruined all add up to "try again Whirlpool..." When I contacted the service rep she was rude and detached in offering any sort of a solution other than to suggest having a repair person come and check the unit. What else can they tell me? It runs but it's operative functions are dismal at best? I just want to return them and get myself something that is worthy of the money and the job. Simple enough to me. We purchased a Cabrio Washer in July of 2009 from Sears along with a 5-year extended warranty. Since the purchase, there have been several times that we get error messages that tell us it is too full when it is not (only a couple items like a delicate load) and it shuts down on us. We have had to turn the power off and restart the load completely. Well, on May 29th (less than 11 months old), it shut down completely and would not drain the water. A&E whom both Whirlpool and Sears use for servicing under warranty could not get a serviceman here until June 10th.

We ended up with mildew in our machine which we predicted may happen for waiting this long. One technician on the phone told us to pour bleach in our machine until a serviceman arrived, of which we said no to because of fear that the bleach may strip the inside or cause more damage. Well, now we had a broken machine with a mildew inside that we don't want to wash our clothes in. Then, once the tech arrived on June 10, a whole other mess began. The 3 parts he ordered for the machine have been on back order and are still on back order today.

Everyone at A&E has been very nice and professional but all the people but two at Whirlpool have been very rude and not professional at all. I told one man how much we have been out so far on using the washateria and he said something like, "I have seven children and it doesn't cost that much." First of all, is it his business to judge his customer on how much I wash clothes? And secondly (as I judge him), I wonder how often his poor kids have to re-wear their clothes and how often he washes their sheets?

My machine is only 11 months old now, so should they not have parts for it? How crazy is this? We paid a lot for this machine and the extended warranty. The least they could do while we wait for them to fix our machines is for them to pay for the washateria or a rental machine. They would have much happier customers. I now refuse to ever buy a Whirlpool after this. In fact, we are talking about selling it once it's fixed because we don't want to deal with them. I plan to write this complaint on every site I can find. I'm so frustrated in how we have been treated.

I bought a Whirlpool washer 7 years ago. It is rusting to pieces. The bleach dispenser on the side did not seal and leaked when liquid bleach would be put in and it began to rust. The machine has run very well but it has fallen to pieces. Before this, I had another Whirlpool washer for 25 years and it looked better than this. We only had to replace the pump. Maybe we should have kept doing that. I am replacing a washer far too soon. What happened to Whirlpool quality?

My husband and I purchased a washer and dryer on September 29, 2009. This is the worst washer I've ever had. It's very loud, rattles, shakes the whole house and clunks at the end of a cycle. I cringe every time I use it. I called the dealer where it was purchased the first week. They sent someone out to look at it and said it was fine. After four months, I called again to see if I could trade it for a better one and they said they would buy it back for a certain percent of what we paid. After discussing it with my husband, we decided to just wait until it stops working (which I'm sure will be soon) and get a new one. I will never buy another Whirlpool and never go back to the place we purchased it from. This is the third set of washers and dryers that we've had in 30 years and one we gave away when we sold our last home and never have we had this problem.

In July 2009, we purchased a Whirlpool duet washer & dryer set along with pedestal bases. The washer ran fine for the first 9 months. Then, one day, when I was ready to wash a load, there was no power to washer. My husband checked the outlet with a volt meter. It was fine, and had power. We called Whirlpool 800 number, were told to unplug washer, and wait 20 minutes so computer could reset itself. I did that, still there was no power. I was given 3 names of authorized repairmen.I had to wait until that Monday. I called, and made the appointment. A man came out, checked the washer, and states that we needed a control panel circuit board which will have to be ordered; if it is in stock, it will take 3-5 days shipping. So, we did that. Finally, the part came in. The mechanic put in the part, did a "quick wash" as a test.

Everything seemed to be working. He left. I washed a load, then went to wash a second load, and there was no power. I called the repairman right back. He said he would order new parts. The next day, which was Friday, 4-23-10, he called and asked if he could come by and check the connections on the washer. He came and checked the connections, and said that he called Whirlpool tech service, and they said the connectors could be corroded, or the wires damaged. He reconnected everything, did a "quick wash cycle". I washed one load, and it worked fine. Then I put the second load in, and there was no power. It was just a repeat of what happened previously. So now, I am waiting again for parts. After reading about everyone's problems, I am afraid that after the warranty runs out, we will be stuck. We paid a lot of money for the set. I gave our 19 year old Maytag set that was absolutely trouble free to our son and daughter-in-law. We were trying to go "green" and buy a product that would use less water and less energy, hmm, a bad choice.

After owning it for about 6 months, it began to leak and ruined my new flooring. A&E Factory Service came out and "repaired" the problem, and Whirlpool gave me a settlement of, I think it was, $2,500.

The washer leaked again and ruined my flooring again about 6 months later. A&E came out again and blamed the problem on me. He said I need to use 1/2 of the recommended amount of the HE detergent. 2 Days later, it leaked again. A&E came out and deemed the washer unrepairable, and I got a new washer (the same exact model though). I received $7,500 from A&E after 6 months of fighting with Whirlpool and A&E for the washer destroying my flooring. Whirlpool decided it was A&E's fault for not fixing it the first time.

Well, here we are again 6 months later. Guess what? It is leaking again. A&E came out last week and said I was using too much detergent. They said use a tablespoon of soap! Are you for real? Is that getting my clothes clean? Well, I tried that; and, guess what, it is still leaking. This washer has been a total nightmare.

A&E said I have to regularly clean the washer with bleach. One guy said do not use bleach, only use a special formula. One guy said only use vinegar. They said I need to wipe the barrel down after each load. I would really like to go back to my top-load washer where I did not have leaking issues and did not have to maintain the washer as much as this one. If you do not clean it each and every load, it will begin to mold!

I think it is just this model, because I know people who have front loads and they have never heard of the things that A&E was telling me. A&E Factory Service was unprofessional and unreliable, and they all say something different!

But now, Maytag top-loaders are just re-badged as Whirlpools. This machine had the fewest electronic gizmos and mechanical gewgaws of any conventional top-loader, and the best reviews of any machine I researched. The "next-day delivery" occurred on 21 January due to machine availability.

The machine's "Hot" wash selection does not allow wash temperature over 97 degrees F (about the same as a cooler-than-comfortably warm bath). There is no lint filter, and the machine ties the clothes in knots. It goes out of balance regardless of how carefully you load it.

I am not strong enough to move the washer back in place after it moves so I can get my clothes out. I have pulled my shoulder muscles doing this. Everyone I talk to that has this complaint about the rocking and walking, Whirlpool says use jack, rubber blocks or rebuild my floors. They know about this and keep selling them. The rocking and walking causes the washer to break down then you have to have it repaired. They are making money. I just want clean clothes. Thank you.

I have six Whirlpool appliances. They were two years old except for my washing machine which was 13 months old. It was out of warranty and completely done. It needed more repair than I paid for it. I bought a new Whirlpool washing machine because it was out of warranty. Now my dishwasher needs $671.00 worth of repair. Whirlpool sent me the parts but refused to pay for labor. The labor is $169.00. I'm thinking if I should put $169.00 into a new dishwasher. By the way, not a Whirlpool!

In 2008, I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer. My clothes are starting to look gray and dingy. I use the same detergent and clothe whiteners. My sheets come out of the washer tied in knots. It takes my husband and I both to get the sheets out. Blue jean legs are tangled so bad I feel like I'm about to pull my arms out of place. I have had Spichers Appliances out to look at the washer. The problem is there is not enough water that goes into the machine to even make the clothes wet enough to come clean. I have bleached marks on my towels where the bleach dispenser releases the bleach onto dry towels.

I didn't deal with any company because of the complaints involved, but I had my Whirlpool for approximately two years and every now and then, a big boom sounds and the plastic gizmo that is right in the front as you open the dryer washer door where the water flows out to fill the washer today got real slow filling up. I reached in thinking it was a filter and wanted to pull it out gently. When I did, it broke off on one side and it felt like old plastic that was in the sun for years. Now I am afraid that water is going to fill up in the washer's housing. I thought that it was a sturdy washer called Whirlpool, but I have other ideas now. I had a Kenmore and this washer lasted more than ten years without a problem. Kenmore is made by Whirlpool.

I am surprised that Whirlpool is so cheaply made. This is my last one. Everything is happening to it now from banging to twisting my cloths and other smaller parts malfunctioning, but I am not going to bother with any of them. I will just chuck it and if anyone gets it, I am so sorry for their surprise. The gears, when it turns into another mode, seems to make a bigger clunk than ever. Now after other complaints, I know that mine will soon be next. Thanks. Sick of dealing with these con artists.

We have owned a Cabrio washer for four years now and it always has issues when you load it to the capacity, which is the reason we bought it so we could do larger loads and save money which we were sold on. After the warranty passed, it started to leak. I never overload it and certainly not to the max capacity as it is constantly unbalanced which causes it to stop and show a code which means nothing to us. Our clothes are clearly taking a beating as some are ripped and just worn out faster due to washing. I regret buying this unit without the middle section in it also to help, so the clothes don't become one big twisted knot which is what comes out at the end of each cycle. It leaks water on the floor all the time and in short, was a complete waste of money. Completely unreliable. Has Whirlpool done anything in terms of a recall on these units? They need to be held more accountable for their products. Clearly, the product testing was not thorough enough or they are not using their own products.

The rubber boot (part no. 26 110 8182119 1) which seals the door developed a tear over a metal vent causing a leak. This is the second time in just over a year. First repair was on 4/14/08. Second time was on 11/11/09. You can feel the vent pressing on the boot and it is evident that it is causing pressure which results in an eventual tear and leakage. This is a flaw in design or product failure which will result in continuous problems. We have an extended protection plan, so our cost was only $11.21. The issue is that it has happened twice now and it is evident it will happen again because of the design flaw. We will have to continue replacing this and eventually our warranty will expire. Also, there is a possibility of damage to the floor if we do not catch the problem.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Sport washer and dryer. The washer was delivered in June 2008. It worked okay for the first few months, then began to get louder and louder on the spin cycle to the point where it sounded like a jet was taking off in our laundry room. We called Sears and they had us contact a technician. They came out and said it was the bearings and would have to replace it and some other parts. This was under warranty. In July 2009, we had the same problem. The technicians came out and said it would be 3-4 weeks to get parts. They called us at the beginning of November and said that the parts alone would be between $500 and $600, plus labor on top of that. Because it was fixed under warranty the first time, there is no warranty on the parts or labor now.

I can see that several people have had issues with this machine. Is there anyway there would be a recall? I will never buy another product built by Whirlpool at this point and will never recommend anyone else to buy one either. I encouraged my sister-in-law to get the same machine when we had newly purchased ours and she has had the computer replaced already. I cannot afford to purchase another machine but will have to find a way to do so.

They delivered a new front loading Whirlpool Duet Sport on 09-03-09. Washing machine would not stay on by 10-25-09. Repairman stated on 10-28-09 I would need a new control panel and it would be in the following week. They were to do the repair work on 11-04-09. The parts are not in and now the hope is to have it repaired on 11-12-09, if parts are available. I am a family of one and have not run 20 loads through this machine. The only response I get from Whirlpool is it is man made and they do no replace faulty equipment. This lack of moral and ethical responsibility on the part of Whirlpool is so wrong. Why isn't there a recourse for disreputable manufacturers such as these?

I purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Loading washer in July 2007. Two months after, I had the machine it broke down. Whirlpool replaced the computer. Over the next 1 1/2 years, it has had the drum replaced 4-5 times. Whirlpool will not replace my machine. It has been the worst appliance purchase I have ever made. I feel duped and stuck. Can you help? I have read online that tons of others have had the same issues with noise and clunking with this machine. I can't believe they don't recall it. I am waiting for the repairman to come on 11/3 again! God help me. I hate going to the Laundromat. It takes weeks to get the parts. #WFW9200SQ00, Serial #CSU1311103, Type 199.

I bought a brand new Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer and have used it about 15-20 times. The control unit has already failed, leaving me with all my clothes locked inside, with no instructions in the manual for a door lock override. As it turns out, you had to remove an access panel - what a dumb design. Whirlpool's authorized service was not available on weekends and when I called Saturday morning, I was told that the earliest they could even look at it would be on Thursday afternoon. Then, of course, they would need to order a control unit or door lock unit; and maybe two weeks later, they might have time to actually fix it. I would need to travel to a laundromat to do my laundry and lose many hours. Plus, I would have to leave work to meet the repair guy on his schedule, not mine, so I would lose billable time at work. No appliance should fail within a month like this. Buyers beware: this thing is junk.

We are calling on a daily basis to local customer service centre (Rajamundry) and yesterday onwards calling to Hyderabad customer care centre. It was discussed to Suresh, Kiran, Sultan and Bala many times. But there was no given good response. It is already 20 days completed. Every service should complete by 7 days. But still, there is no progress on this. This is very irresponsible. Please help me in this regard.
