It has been a pleasure and an honor to have worked with Vector security. When you call them about a concern you are greeted with a voice and not a recording. Their customer service is second to none. Depending on your issues, they can have a serviceman at your door before the end of business day, and that important to me. Service techs know my system which makes it easy on me as I don't have to reteach them every time they come out. In conclusion, I hate to drop this vendor (Vector) but our corp guideline dictate who we use moving forward.

I've had them for almost 5 years in SC. From the start, I had issues with Vector. The guy who did the install messed up a few items even though the house was pre-wired. He even spliced my phone line, even though that wasn't necessary. Took a while to get someone else out to get it all working OK. At least once a year, I'd get a call saying the alarm wasn't functioning properly and I'd have an extension I had to call. The guy NEVER answered and would return my call up to a day later, so we'd typically play phone tag for a week. So for at least a week, I had no functioning alarm service. This finally happened again last week, so I decided to cancel and move to someone else. Trying to cancel was a CHORE! On hold for over half an hour, then disconnected. I'd get someone and tell them I want to cancel and they'd put me back on hold! Then someone will "need to call me" and they called three days later.
I got the message and called them back – did they answer? NO, but returned my call 4 days later. Par for the course – horrible, horrible service and communication. Then they let me know that I have an auto-renewing contract that isn't up until May. Nice... Would I like to cancel now and pay the balance, or cancel effective May 1? Not much logic in canceling now and paying for no service. Of course, this was all after the offer of new equipment, upgrades, reduced price, etc., etc. Stay away. You can do way better.

My experience with Vector Security has been excellent. Greg ** my sales rep represented your company very well and everything that he said was exactly how things happened. Your installation crew was on time and very thorough as they made sure everything worked properly and even tried a couple different things with my motion detector due to my large dog. I would definitely recommend Vector to anyone needing protection for their home or business.

I was very happy from the time the salesman met me at my house. He was very professional. He answered all my questions and concerns. I never felt pressured at any time. It was easy to sign up for this service because I was fully prepared on the next steps. When the installation happened it was smooth and easy. They came on time and finished quickly. He also did a great job and took his time on the training of our new system. Thanks.

I'm impressed with the quick response time regarding our smoke detector when the oven overflowed. They responded with a phone call almost immediately. When we accidentally set off alarm they called quickly but would not give us any information until we gave them our code. Feel very safe with Vector. Have experience with other security systems and they do not compare to Vector as far as response time. Spoke with Anthony ** at the Home Show and he was very informative and helpful. Very satisfied. Overall, excellent!

Salesman was knowledgeable and friendly and helped me to decide what features I did and did not want. Installer did the work well, and had to make some on-site adjustments to the plan the salesman had made, but we will work through these issues to revise our hardware plan (and costs) with the salesman Chris **.

Vector was recommended to me by my son and I was contacted by David ** who arranged for the installation of my alarm system. Dave was very knowledgeable and professional and someone who I could call when I had a question or problem. The installer was at my home on the day arranged and the install of the actual alarm was neat and done in a timely manner. In the next few weeks I will be needing a home medical alert system which Dave and I have discussed and will be installing in my home. I would certainly recommend Vector and Dave if asked about an alarm system.

I have used Vector for over 12 years and they are the only ones I go to for all of my security needs at my commercial properties. They are always fair and their service people are very knowledgeable. One person is that I need to give praise to is Ricky **, he is absolutely fabulous and I call him and only him for whatever I need done and he makes sure that I have immediate service and that is rare in big corporations.

Our technician and our sales rep were absolutely fantastic! They took the time to answer each of our questions and make sure that we understood the system and felt safe. After the break-in (before our system was installed), we both felt unsure and unsettled. They made us feel like family. I would absolutely recommend Vector!

I've worked with Frank ** of Vector on security systems for an apartment and my current home, and he does great explaining the benefits of different options. He is courteous and treats clients with respect. The various installers likewise are skilled at executing the plans that we develop.

I'm able to set and unset my alarm from my phone, have my A/C automatically kick on when I get close to the house, view my video cameras, and get text messages anytime someone disarms the system.

Gordon ** replaced sensor once before and since it failed again he relocated the sensor to the upper part of the window and thoroughly tested. When we mentioned that the other window in the room also seemed to lose connection, he relocated that sensor and tested that to eliminate a similar issue. We have had the pleasure of working with Gordon for many years and appreciate his professionalism, promptness, thoroughness, and feel he makes sure to understand the issue at hand and does all he can to find a satisfactory solution. Vector Security has been REALLY great. It is extremely high tech equipment that we can control from our phones - so we have peace of mind wherever we are. The monitoring folks are excellent as well. We even get phone calls when our batteries in our smoke detectors are low so we know we have to change them. Definitely would recommend to a friend and I have!

Recommended by my brother-in-law who spoke highly of the service he'd received over the years, our salesman actually remembered my father for whom he'd sold a security system some 20 years ago. Our salesman was very thorough in explaining all the details of the security system packages, and also very patient in helping my 76-year-old mother understand how it would protect the house.
The serviceman was prompt, professional, friendly, and also thoroughly explained the control panel with incredible patience. Curiously enough, the serviceman who came to install the system was also familiar with my parents as he now lives out near the airport where they had just moved from. Everything about our security system purchase with Vector went smoothly. Having family members recommend them, and then knowing their sales and installation agents are also from the area, greatly enhanced our confidence. Excellent experience.

Technician did a good job upgrading my system. It was not very time consuming. My only concern was that he brought an outdated surveillance camera that has to be replaced. He did a good job explaining how to use system.

Local sales/service are 5-stars, but I'm giving a 4-star review because the wireless keypads occasionally do not sync properly and will lock up the way a computer does, causing us to only set and disarm using the main panel.

My experience with Vector Security has been excellent, especially with my local Tallahassee office. Any time I've had issues or concerns, I've called on manager Stone ** who has gone above and beyond to ensure that I am satisfied and safe. I've been so pleased with the service that I added service in my home as well as my office. I love the system I had installed at my office which enables me to use keyless entry to unlock and disarm the system, set up codes for different people, and access the system remotely. It is a state-of-the-art system, and the customer service is exemplary.

We have been customers of Vector Security and Frank ** for more than a decade, and we couldn't be more pleased. Our security system makes us feel safer when we are home and gives us peace of mind when we are away. The mobile app makes it easy to monitor and control the system's functions and view our optional cameras. We are so happy with our recent addition of a module that allows us to open and close our garage door from the app! It's also nice to be able to double check that the door is closed when we aren't home. We hope to add more home automation features in the future!

Because of my experience she is the first recommendation that I give to anyone asking for a referral. From there the service continues with the installation and tech staff. We have had Vector Security for several years. Our sales rep was never pushy, and made recommendations that were customized to our needs and within our budget. He recently made some suggestions for new technology, but I never feel pressured. We have not had any problems with the system in the several years since installation. We recently did some renovations to our home which required additional sensors from Vector. Their repair person was clean, on time, polite, and very informative. We will always recommend Vector.

Our company been doing business with Vector Security for many years and they have protected a number of our locations with quality service and excellent products. We are a large wholesale beer and wine distributor in Ohio, and the talented staff at Vector Security, of Youngstown, Ohio, along with our Vector Salesman Tod ** designed and installed a complete security system in our new facility which is over one half million square feet. We have a full comprehensive system that monitors our facility for fire, burglary, sprinkler flow and tamper, low and high temperatures, security cameras, panic and holdup alarms, and a full card access system, plus other special features.

To say we are pleased with our sales and service is an understatement. Several years ago our house was broken in to (we had no security system). We believed, like most of the people in our neighborhood, that we were safe and things like that didn't happen there. Our car was vandalized and honestly our sense of security in our own home was shattered. We filed a report with the police and they had a good idea of who it was but no charges were ever filed.
Our children sleep in a finished basement that has several windows. They were terrified that someone would break through the window and take them and possibly hurt our family. My wife and I spent hours comforting them by telling them that everything was fine. However, we were wondering ourselves whether something like this would happen again. From the time the Vector Security system went in, the sign went in our yard and the security alarms went on the windows, we have been able to feel a little safer. Our children still always make sure we check the system before bedtime.
The crew that placed the system in our home was professional and incredibly courteous. All of our questions were answered and they even followed up to make sure we understood everything. I have called our local office a few times with minor questions and the staff is always so helpful and understanding. We are not naive to believe we are their only customers but sometimes it feels that way. THANK YOU VECTOR SECURITY FOR HELPING OUR FAMILY FEEL SAFE AGAIN!

Our company (Youngstown Central Area Community Improvement Corporation) has used Vector Security for the card-controlled access system on our building(s) located in downtown Youngstown since 1999. I installed a Vector security system that includes fire and burglary protection in our rental unit. The system was installed approximately May of 2011. I wanted a system to protect our property along with enabling our tenants to feel safe in a potentially new community to them. The system has worked very well and met all of our expectations. The monitoring center works well with new tenants that may not be used to how the alarm business operates. I have had not service issues with the equipment installed and the key fobs are very convenient for tenants. I have and will continue to recommend a Vector alarm system to anyone who may be considering an alarm system of any kind.

Atlas first installed a factory and office fire alarm system utilizing Vector Security nearly 20 years ago. The system has performed well with very few maintenance problems. We recently added an access control system for the front office to protect data and electronic equipment. It also has performed as expected. Vector's service department is very knowledgeable and quick to resolve the few issues we've had. We are very happy with the quality of equipment and service the Mansfield office of Vector Security has provided.

I signed up with Vector Security after having been on a plan for years with ADT. The rep that Vector sent walked me through everything about my house, security in general and their offerings. The system and monitoring package included digital keypad with wireless communication, remote controlled door locks, motion detector, door sensors, smoke detectors and iPad/iPhone control of my house. All this was included at way below the rate that ADT had been charging me for a 7 year old system.
My installer was great and had all of my work done in just a few hours. I've had the system live for 4 months now and my ability to monitor things on my phone is amazing. No more getting up in the middle of the night to check a door or wondering "did I leave the garage door up?" I had a battery go bad on my system and was notified by my control panel, my phone and then also called by Vector. I called back and the person who answered my call checked my account, walked me through replacing the battery (2 minutes time) and then made sure the system reset so resolve the alert. I love these guys and would recommend everyone to use them.

Last year after a couple of issues with friends and neighbors my wife and I decided to invest in a home security system. Like most would do we called around to many security companies to gather information and pricing. After talking with Steven at Vector Security on the phone during the day he then called me again in the evening to ask if my wife had any questions on the system. This was a HUGE sell for us! He cared that much for a potential customer that he wanted to talk after hours to see we had our questions answered! We had our system installed a couple of days later and couldn't be happier.
Steven was at our house during the installation and the tech was very helpful and answered all of our questions. We leave our house now and don't worry about "what if" when we get home. When we go to bed at night our kids set the alarm so they know that nothing will happen to them while they are sleeping. All around we are thrilled with the product, the people, and the security company known as Vector Security. Vector Security has installed and maintained our company Security Systems and Card Access system. Our company has seven buildings on our campus. Overall, I'm very satisfied. There are some things I'm very happy about and some things that I'm not so happy about. For example, the customer service is great, and they stand behind everything they sell. I had trouble with my control panel, and they replaced it for free. However, I'm still having the same trouble with the 2nd control panel. I've just learned to live with it. Also, only some of the features work. I can't unlock my front door or turn on the light with the iPhone app anymore. I'd recommend them to someone else. However, I wish I wouldn't have gotten the camera. I feel like if my house gets robbed, it won't give me a good enough description of the suspect.

I am paying for a camera system that hasn't worked correctly since day one. It is now over a year and 5 service calls later they have begun becoming very rude. The supervisor was very argumentative when I told her the rotor that they installed is the problem and she was not believing that they installed rotors for the camera. Then wanted to argued I wasn't being billed for the camera anyway when I'm sitting here looking at it and it sure shows home video auth dlr $5.00. I believe someone was asleep during training or these little service centers aren't up to date with what the main branch is doing.
When you call in for service time and time again and they don't call you back until 2 days later when you finally call them then you are told the person that never called was their best employee then something is definitely missing in customer service. As well as being told by the service tech that came out the week before that the equipment we have is junk then I truly believe one hand does not know what the other is doing. I am adding a photo of the rotor to prove to the supervisor who argued so strongly that you do not provide rotors with or to run your camera that she should be made to take a training course before arguing with a customer.

I prepaid for 3 years of service in advance. Once the 3 years was up I did not receive a call wanting to renegotiate the contract, I received a bill, at a much higher rate than was previously paid for. I contact the company and said that I was not able to even use the current system because of the size of my dog... Long story short, I have a security system that my dog sets off, with a wire running outside of my wall (crappy installation) and a company that now wants to turn my account over to collections (after I prepaid for 3 years) and they try to bill me at a higher rate! You lost me, as a customer. Come get your signs out of my yard. I will get another company that appreciates my advance payment and will not try to screw me with some fine print!

I am happy overall with Vector Security. Installation was smooth and the programming worked without hiccups. The keypad is user friendly and marks the zones in an easy to understand manner. I am giving a "satisfied" vs. "happy" rating because we have ongoing issues of the wind hitting a bay door in our warehouse, which sets the alarm off, police are dispatched, and we incur charges from the "police false alarm" department. I would have given an excellent if Customer Service followed up and scheduled a service call on last false alarm, but it is a technical issue, apparently.

Had issues with the keypad going off. The signal was not strong enough, they put a new AT&T board in, system seems to be fine now. The installer Dave ** was fantastic, very patient and so courteous. He is a great asset to Vector. I only ask for him when my system has issues. Setting up the appoint I dealt with April at the Ft Lauderdale office. She is so nice and so pleasant, another great asset to Vector Security.

Vector has experienced professionals that truly understand the value of customer service. My experience with two employees, Amy ** and Andrew was probably the best service I have ever had. They both were not satisfied that the job was completed until I was totally satisfied. They worked with me while I was out of town and they understood the importance and value of me knowing that my home was safe, secure and in good working order, no matter how long it took. They made me feel like my schedule was JUST as important as theirs. They were both timely, responsive, and were there for my convenience all while I was in another state! It took over 4 minutes to receive a call when I set off my security (system check). Once the call came in I asked the rep why it took so long to call me. Her response was they had high call volume. Unacceptable! So I hung up, tripped the alarm again and after 7 min. of no call from the monitor service I called back and asked why I did not receive a call. I was then told by Leslie that if a false alarm is verified and a new alarm is received within 4 minutes they are not required to call. This is wrong on every level. I asked for a mgr and was placed on hold an additional 8 min then the call was dropped.
I called back. I got the same rep Leslie who placed me on hold. I got her so called mgr. Jenna who confirmed they are not required to callback if 2 alarms are set off within a 4 min time frame. I have been with this company over 3 years and will be cancelling my contract as this is not the 1st occurrence of poor customer service. In addition I do not feel safe or protected by this monitoring company.

Thank you for your feedback. Like many other security companies, Vector Security uses what is called an “electronic verification” process. When a false alarm is triggered, we receive a signal that indicates no true emergency exists, therefore we do not dispatch help to your location. This process is common practice in the alarm industry and helps ensure resources are reserved for true emergencies, reduces false alarm dispatches and saves valuable human and financial resources.

The alarm was installed in March, 2015. For no apparent reason the alarm would go off when walking by a sensor in living room. After an attempt was made for service, wrote a letter to company to stop service and informed them that it was more than we could tolerate... I removed the sensors and have been paying the bill. An attempt was made in December, 2015 to re-connect, however, a service date was not available until Jan, 2016. We have decided that continuing any relationship with Vector would be fruitless and not worth the trouble of connecting and waiting. The representative asked why I would pay for something that we are not using, cannot make that question up. Dumbfounded in Denville.
I was informed by email that they sent a letter demanding the balance of $1,600.00 through the end of a 3 year contract. Never received letter, so, fearing a credit bureau negative report, we continue to pay $53.00 per month for something that has never performed and is totally disconnected. Finally, was able to connect with Vector in Wilkes-Barre and the accounting rep. Janette ** was sensitive to our ordeal. She has agreed to accept monthly payments until paid in full in two years. Janette was professional and responded to every question and concern almost instantly.
We requested letters stating that our account was in good standing and would not be automatically renewed, which is in the small print on contract for auto-renew. Janette made that happen with first contact, something that amazed us, since we had been trying for months for same result. We will never purchase anything in the future without reading the reviews, if we had, I could be doing something more productive. Total investment to date: $1,230.00. Installation was ok. Our account is cancelled, the equipment is now collecting dust.

It's easy to use and I feel much better about leaving my older kids home alone now that we have security system and special password for possible home invasions.

Have a Vector system that was destroyed in a storm. They came and replaced for no charge. They only wanted us to renew our service contracts which we were not planning on changing companies anyway. Very satisfied with their professional personnel.

I recently has a new home security system installed by Vector Security. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism of the installer as well as the quality of work. All of this and at a better price than any of the other name brand companies I look at. I would definitely look to Vector again if I decide to go with home automation or a camera system. I have and will continue to recommend them to all friends and family who are looking for the added level of security that a new home security system offers.

Since purchasing Vector Security in June of 2010, it has been a complete nightmare! From the moment the salesman left my door, the lies and shady practices began. I provided the representative with a check that was pro-dated for seven days out because I was told that that I had seven days to cancel the service. If I chose to cancel the service, the check would be destroyed. Both were lies. The company cashed the check within two days and I was told that I could not cancel the service until the contract ended. I was basically trapped into this contract!
For the past three years I have contacted Vector Security on numerous occasions and expressed my mistrust of them and their practices. Each time I told the representative that as soon as my contract ended, I wanted the account cancelled. However, Vector Security has refused to cancel the account. On the 10th of November 2015, I spoke with Glenn ** (Retention Specialist) who advised me that because I did not cancel the account in June, it automatically "renewed" and was extended for an additional year. I told him that I had been attempting to have it closed for the previous three years and he blew me off. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Vector's spokesperson, Ms. Diana **, stated that I would have to honor this unethical contract extension. Do not use this company. Use a more reputable company like ADT or CPI.

I had issues with the equipment in which this company would not fix. I was told that I had to finish out my five-year contract before I could cancel my services. When I call after my contract was up, I was told that it had automatically renewed. This was not made clear to me when I signed the contract and I'm sure this is something that stands out. Now my paper copy of the contract is unreadable. I believe this is a company with no ethical standards.

I am a senior resident at the Carlin where these people are the security agents for the cameras in the lobby, elevators and front door. I have watched people enter my apartment on camera. They never seem to alert the building managers of the entrance of unwanted guests. I believe that I am the target of a group of the residents who have an alternative lifestyle. They just want to run me off the property and no one is helping.

I received a letter in August that they could not process a recent electronic account debit. I wrote to their office in Warrendale, asking to be changed to paper billing. Nothing happened. I also sent them a check for the month's service. I then received a similar letter on September 22nd; they again could not process my electronic bank debit. I spoke with Janette ** who was with the Warrendale office, and she promised to change my billing to paper. This has not happened yet. I sent them a check for the September balance.
Now, I get a letter from the Pensacola office saying that my account is over 30 days delinquent and that I owe them $85.98, which is the total cost of the August and September bills! I called them today and spoke with their president, a lady, and we could not come to an agreement. I still do not have paper billing!!! And I cannot get anyone at Vector Security to call me!!! I could not submit a receipt because the option to FAX was not available.

This company is a complete and total rip off. We moved out of state, and although the company cannot provide service at our new address, they refuse to work with us on a cancellation due to the fact that they cannot uphold their part of the contract. I was told that my contract is with the address we were at when we first received their service, not with us as customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS and you will pay dearly for it.

A kid wearing a Vector Security shirt went door to door. As he approached me, I asked if he had a permit, which is needed for soliciting in this city. He said he sure did, then showed me his Vector Security ID card. I cleared up that I meant a permit from city hall. He said he trusted his bosses, who told him the permit was in the mail. (Hmm, a minute ago he thought his ID card was the permit.) I said he should wait till he has the actual permit, so he can show it to folks as proof. I don't believe he has one. He came after city hall had closed, so I couldn't check on the spot.
He claimed he was from the sales department and that they were to each go give away 3 free services per street, to drum up business by others seeing the signs. When asked how long it was free, he said 5 years, adding we would still have to pay $50 / month, but that'd be the only costs, and my neighbors would be paying much more. He did not say how much it would go up in 5 years or how much I was saving over the neighbors or with this "free" offer. It all seemed off somehow, so I declined. Then I came here to check their reviews, and I'm glad I did; I'll be sure to avoid them now.

Be careful of this company. I had a three year contract and didn't read the fine print. After the three year contract was up, they automatically renewed for another full year. The fine print states you must provide 30 days notice before the end of the contract regarding discontinuing service. Once you have been automatically renewed for a fourth year, they will not financially prorate the fourth year. That is, you will be required to pay the full year, however, they will end your service if you desire. The automatic renewal was not explained to me before I signed the initial contract. Disappointing business ethics by Vector Security.

Beware - the worst of all security services. I wanted to install a fire alarm to my home security system. They would not give MY SPECIFIC installer code, so that I could link the alarm to my home security system. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. They are a bunch of thugs! They want me to pay them to install the alarm at twice the price.

Had a severe storm with loss of power a month ago. Just received a letter from Vector that my phone system is not communicating with them since the storm and suggested I call them immediately! This was a month after the storm! I called immediately and they told me this happened with so many people that they could not call all of them and needed to send out letters! Have that never heard of renting a call center to perform this task for them! I tried to schedule a service call but no one was available for another five days! And this is a company I trust to keep me secure!! My service has not been dependable for over a month and I am notified via mail because they are too cheap to pay employees overtime or rent a call center to provide this service. Leaving this company immediately!!
