Purchased a Troy Bilt Pressure Washer from Lowes. After only 2 years, the product developed several leaks below the pump unit, resulting in no pressure for washing. Spent three weeks contacting Troy Bilt through 800 numbers and local service providers. Local service provider could not cross reference part numbers required with Troy Bilt. Troy Bilt finally informed me (after repeated calls) that the model I had purchased had been manufactured by GENERAC and provided a number to contact GENERAC.

GENERAC phone support did not provide live assistance only phone options, none of which related to replacement parts. Ordered replacement manifold through local service provider for GENERAC products (no online ordering from GENERAC). Received parts within a week, which turned out to be Briggs and Stratton parts. Learned Briggs and Stratton owns the GENERAC brand. Inspection of the orginal manifold showed several cracks in the casting. This has to be a flaw in the manufacturing of the castings for the manifold. The pressure washer had been prepared for storage per instructions provided. Cost of replacement parts was $75.

Difficulty in finding a service provider that could order replacement parts. Spent several weeks tracking down correct information to be able to order parts. After only two years, had to spend $75 in parts on top of initial purchase price of $299 to fix the pressure washer myself.

I was thinking of purchasing a Troy Built Tiller, so I rented one to try it. I rented the Troy Built Horse tiller. It was the most unpredictable, dangerous machines that I have ever used. It would take off on it's own. At the end of a pass, If you could make a pass without it taking off, you would try to put it in neutral and it would jump in high gear and take off. The only thing that would stop it was the house or the fence.

I had to put all children and pets in the house so it would not run over them. This machine needs a stop between high and low gear so you can only shift into high gear when you want to. I would consider this to be a safty feature. I will never own or operate one of these machines in the future. I will buy one of the old style front tine tillers.

For the 3rd time in 55 running hours, the spindles on the cutting deck of my new Troybilt GTX-2446 Garden tractor / mower have failed. The last time was June 29, 2004. I STILL haven't got my machine back. The company passes the buck about giving the repair shop (where I was told to take it for repair) a repair authorization code I enlisted the aid of Loews (where I bought it for a premiuim price) to resolve the issue, but they are ALSO stalled at the Troybilt level.

The TroyBilt Pony I purchased 4-3-2004 has been backfiring everytime I shut it down since I purchased it. It also is miserably tough to shift from forward to reverse and in less than three months it's has blown its belts.. Its factory blades leave uneven mowing marks. Lowes refuses to take it back

I bought a troy-bilt 2600 PSI pressure washer with 5.0 HP Honda engine from Lowes. Upon assembly, I found the oil filler cap/dipstick missing. It was not in the engine or anywhere in the box or hardware. Both the box and a bright green flyer inside indicate not to return the merchandise for problems - to call their number for help with setup, service, or general use. It states in LARGE letters to Let Us Help. I called twice (888-611-6708), speaking to different people who both refused to give their names and said they had no supervisor. They both told me I would have to call the Honda company because it was Honda's engine.

I reminded them that it said 'Troy-Bilt' on the box and that their people put an engine on the equipment that was missing a part. They didn't care, and said they could not help me. There is nothing more frustrating than buying something complete in a box, taking it home, and discovering that it cannot be used because parts are missing. I was aggravated even more by the written insistence that they help, but their refusal to help when I called. Also, there is no contact information for Honda anywhere in the container or owner's manuals for either the pressure washer or the engine. I am taking the item back to Lowes for a refund. Troy-Bilt will not have me as a customer, and I will tell everyone I know not to buy MTD, Troy-Bilt, Ryobi, or anything else related.

$200 for a day of work lost and tremendous mental stress and frustration with the terrible quality and service.

I purchased a Troybuilt cultivator 3 years ago. Since then the company was purchased by MTD, and the same model is still available. My unit has less than ten hours on it and now requires $130 in parts alone. MTD customer service has been arrogant, insulting and downright rude when I have corresponded with them in an unsuccessful attempt to determine if individual parts are available rather than assemblies (a $3.00 bushing only comes as part of a $30.00 assembly) and if any improvements have been made to the machine since they purchased the company and refuse to accept any responsibility for the former owner's products.

In response to my first query about the product was a line, "For a complete explanation you would likely need to enroll in a course on inventory management at a business college." These customer service reps are rude and demeaning and after several attempts ultimatley refused to answer questions as to changed manufacturing processes to improve (or degrade) their products.
