We bought this plan in March 2017. We needed of A/C repaired in May 2017 and it took approximately a week to get someone who was will to come to our area to service the unit, (If you decide to buy this plan make sure they have vendors in your area!!!). T.H.P. did not have a HVAC service provider near where we live and the company they offered did not want to travel 2 hrs. to our home. They finally agreed to come after T.H.P. was willing to paid for travel expense. So now it is August 2017 and again the unit is freezing up (It keeps losing Coolant). We call again for repair @9:00 am, BY 1:00 pm no e-mail for a vendor. Which by the way is how you get a vendors name & contact # to call and set up an appt. T.H.P. has 24-48 hrs to find a vendor for you. I did get a name & # within 24 hrs. BUT... the e-mail has the wrong contact # and wrong e-mail address.

So now I have to search the internet for the correct information. When I contacted them they also said they do not service in my area, so back to T.H.P. After strongly presenting my situation they agreed to authorize payment to my local HVAC service company a big $100.00 dollars. So I have my local A/C guy come and the system (which was again frozen/No Coolant) and he adds coolant. The price was $245.00 dollars. I faxed the invoice back to T.H.P. but I doubt (after reading other reviews about this company) that I will be reimbursed for at least the $100.00. We will see.

DO NOT PURCHASE! I too bought this as I am a single homeowner and don't have a lot of money when things break. I first called in a claim July 25th for my Air conditioner was told I would be hearing from them the next day... By July 27th I still had heard nothing. So I called again only to be told the first claim was never filed! I then filed yet another claim. As of yet July 31st I still have no A.C. I live in South Texas. It was 106 yesterday and 104 today! I have called every hour and have been told sorry no vendor has accepted the work order.

However to fair they did offer me a reimbursement should I call and have it repaired... 10 -15 days for refund... If approved! I have 2 little dogs 12 lbs who will die in that house if I left them all day... So for the past 2 nights I have slept in my car with A. C and took off work today as my dogs can't be left in the heat... To me this unacceptable! If I had money to have it fixed I would not need the warranty... I have paid for a service and for nothing. If you don't have vendors that will accept work orders then don't sell the warranty!

On 12/13/2016, I submitted a review. The company replied that they sincerely apologize for on behalf of the technician’s missed appointments, and they would like to offer me a free service call fee on my next claim. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. On May 2017, I called Total Homeshield and placed a claim because I had a plumbing issue. When I flush my toilet the water stays in top and did not want to go down. I had to use a plunger to flush the water. I also had the same problem with my bathroom sink. The technician said he call the company to get approval before he fix it and the guy the technician spoke to said he would not approve anything that would cost more than $300.00, and they would need to speak with the customer. After one or two days they called me and said my claim was denied. I was very upset and I cancel the policy right away. I had the policy for 8 months and I feel like I was throwing money away because I could not get service for what I paid for. Total Homeshield is the worse company ever. Please stay away from them.

Excellent sales people. Unfortunately complete and absolute frauds. I've been servicing my HVAC system every 6 months, fall and spring for the last 23 years with the same vendors. My system finally gave up and waved its white flag and surrendered to "Normal wear and tear". I had the same vendor come out and diagnose the issue and they told me what was wrong. I then called Total Home Protection and had them come with their technician to diagnose the system. Guess what this guy says... Something else completely different and lo and behold the system is not covered, but he can make the repairs to the tune of $1400+... But the entire system can be replaced for $4800... And then to top it off, the wait time to get service has averaged 25 minutes!

When I signed up, for only $399 and a $45 service call, I thought too good to be true. I told Marc that it sounds great. He immediately started in on trying to get me to get the 5 year plan. I told him I don't know them and we'll see how they perform this year. I sure am glad I did not go with the long term policy. If they are going to bait and switch everything you claim, then what is the point of the warranty?

I have a home protection through Total Home Protect. Their contract states that covered appliances and systems will be repaired or replaced after paying the individual deductible of $150. I was told there were no service people who could come same day to look at the system, so I could find my own person. He came out and stated that the entire system would need to be replaced, which would cost about $6000. The company then said that the system would have to be repaired first with their parts, and this a/c repair company stated they would not install the parts that the company wants installed. Therefore, the home warranty company now wants to send me $1000 and considers the matter done.

I spoke with a customer service rep last week, who stated the parts would be ordered and one of their companies would come and install the parts, but that this would take 3-5 business days. We are now 6 business days further and I spoke with a supervisor who stated that they would go ahead and issue the $1000 since my original a/c person had refused to put their parts into my a/c. I told them that this was not what was in the contract, which states that a system will be repaired and if deemed not repairable, it will be replaced.

This paltry sum they have deemed appropriate to buy off their promise in the contract is nowhere near enough to even get some parts replaced. I am now going on day 8 of no air conditioning, in Oklahoma, with temperatures daily over 100 degrees. Don't buy a contract from this company, I am sure there are many good home warranty companies out there, and once this is done, we will definitely make the switch to a more reputable, reliable company.

I first contacted Total Home on 6/18/2017 because I was having problems with my central air conditioner. I received their answering service. They took down minimum information and stated that they were forwarding the call to dispatch. They did not provide me with a reference number for the call. I called back a few hours later after I had not heard from anyone and they said that all they do is take messages and forward to the dispatcher since this is on the weekends. They could not provide me with a status of my call or any information. One of this companies selling points is the fact that they provide 24/7 service. This is absolutely not true. Needless to say I never heard from anyone.

When I contacted the office on Monday June 19th, 2017, they indicated that they did not have any record of my call. I spoke with a Mark (**) who stated that he was a customer service manager. I explained to him about my recent call over the weekend and he said that they did not have any record of my calls. He said that he can take a new call and walk my information over to his dispatch unit and someone will contact me to come out. Unfortunately it can take up to 24 hours... mind you this is in addition to the days that I have already been waiting. Also keep in mind THP has collected 2 payments from me on-time... 24 hours came and went and no one ever called me. I called back and was given more excuses than as to why no one ever contacted me (the customer). I was given the dispatch manager Dane ** (**) and was told he did not know why I had not been contacted.

Their problem did not have a contractor in the area that I live in... How is that possible? I live near ANN ARBOR, CANTON and surrounding communities. I'm confused? Bottom line they did not have anyone to service the Ypsilanti Area... wow... this is what I paid for. He said that I could get a contractor to come out and have them call them for authorization prior to providing service. A week went by and still no call from THP the warranty company that I am paying... I called them back and spoke with Dane and he could not explain why to date I had not heard from anyone... he offered a ton more of excuses.

I contacted a contractor and he came out and diagnosed the problem and called THP (I was on the call) and they asked him so many questions like they did not want to cover the repair. This is exactly what happened. They denied my claim stating that it was a pre-existing problem and could not have happened within the days after the policy became effective. You do not know when your appliances will stop working. It's unforeseen. Do not purchase their warranty... you get the run around and they DO NOT PAY!

The charge for a service call is $45, and most people tell me that their home warranty service charges them $75 to $80 per service call. I went on the website of Total Home Protection to see how they would handle a problem, if I had one. I also researched reviews and they had negatives and positives, like with any company, so I’ll have to see for myself. I am waiting for the paper copy of the contract. I hope they send that because I'd just seen some reviews that people never got it. The first service rep that called me was a jerk. We didn't have time, so I never called back. The next day, they found a vendor for me so I got the impression that they found somebody because I threatened to cancel the membership.

The contractor didn’t show up one time and was not very responsive to me. He wouldn’t get on the phone. I had to call Total Home Protection and complain that I couldn’t get in touch with him. The next day, I got him to call me. He came but didn’t get approval from Total Home Protection to do the work. He was sitting out in front of the house for a while and I couldn’t understand why he didn’t get the approval before he came. And when he came, he had the wrong part and had to wait another day. It was a pain in the neck and I was dissatisfied. It was my first claim with them so my first impression of them was not good. I’m waiting to see what happens on the next claim. Maybe the pool was the problem because it’s pool season and they’re having a tough time finding pool guys to work. If it was a regular problem like AC, I’m curious as to how they would perform there.

We have a home warranty for a rental condo that we purchased 3 years ago. The AC unit recently quits working. Upon request, Total Home Protection dispatched a technician on May 21 to check it out and the Technician determined that the coil is leaking and recommended replacement. We paid $45 for the inspection. What happened next surprised us completely. Instead of honoring the warranty policy and fix the AC unit, Total Home Protection rejected our claim citing that the unit had previous services before. This, happens to be a baseless argument that was completely made up on their end to not honor their warranty service agreement for two reasons -

    1. Total Home Protection claims that the technician stated that the coil has a mismatch with the unit, and used this as their basis for their argument that the unit was serviced in the past. In making up this fraudulent determination, they failed to recognize three fundamental facts - a. We bought this unit 3 years ago and the AC unit has been working all along and we have had no repair services on the unit until now. b. If indeed it was a coil mismatch, how could the unit keep working all these 3 years until now? c. Who on earth would "service" an AC unit by putting a mismatched coil in in the first place?

    2. In the receipt the technician gave us a copy of, there is no statement at all that indicated a "mismatched coil" as Total Home Protection claimed. All he stated is "Leak in old coil. Rec. Replace System" (receipt image attached).

When we bought the unit, we have done a thorough inspection by a licensed inspector, all appliances were working well. Like I said, the AC unit has been working all along and we had no service repairs throughout those years until now. It's a shame that Total Home Protection, in an effort to avoid honoring their policy, would cook up such a baseless excuse to try to disqualify our claim and request for service. This is our first time using Total Home Protection, clearly this is not a business we could trust to honor any of their policies, if they can simply generate out of the blue a baseless excuse like this. I'd like to request Consumer Affairs investigate or alert FTC to look into the claim processing practices within Total Home Protection.

Then, he found out that was part of the problem. He said it needed a water inlet valve and that they had to order it. He called me today and said that he's not getting any response from Total Home Protection and it's going to cost me $300 or more for him to repair it. I said, “No. It’s not. I have the warranty to cover it.” However, I called Total Home Protection and got a hold of them and they said they’re going to call him tomorrow because he didn’t wanna talk to them today. I'm not pleased right now.

My first call was for my garage door, they said they just can’t fix rollers just the motor parts, no the roller, I passed, then I look for another company and fixed it for $60.00 dollars.

My second call was my water heater broke and I they said that they only fix the component's of the water heater no the tank, this is a fraud company, I cancel my account and they charge me with, two months plus cancellation, Why I have to pay cancelation fees, your company is not fixing anything that I asked. Please be careful this company is a fraud, I still do not receive my refund and more than 10 days have passed, is a fraud

Whatever you do, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY. This is not a real company. It's a fraud. It's run by 2-3 young 22-25 year old guys. There is no underlying network of contractors. It's all a lie... There is no file a claim on website. It does not exist. It's a make believe only... If you file a claim with them to send out a contractor to repair something in your home I guarantee you that this repair person will never arrive and all you will do is call and call the next day and the day after that explaining yourself as to why they did not send anyone. They will apologize and give you another nonexistence contractor phone number only for you to call again and complain.

Total Home Protection is a TOTAL SCAM. BE AWARE!!! I bought a home warranty coverage policy from this company effective from 4/23/2017-6/24/2018. I paid with my credit card $2100 for 6 policies. I was influenced to join after reading on their website that it only costs $45 for a technician visit which is the cheapest by far compared to any other home warranty in the market today.

On 05/07/2017 I called to place a claim for a leak inside the house located California 91367 with the contract number **. The person there after 2 days emailed me a number for a company called US Veterans Home Services Inc. After calling this number numerous times and leaving messages, no one called me back and so I called the Total Home Protection again and told them that no matter how many times I call no one at this US Veterans Home Services picks up the phone or returns calls. Then they provided another plumbing company phone number this one called Drain Doctors Plumbing and Rooter. This time a person by the name of Arnold picked up the phone and told me he would come by on 05/10/2017 but the next day he called and cancelled the appointment mentioning that he does not want to work with Total Home Protection Company for reasons he did not tell me.

Again, I called the Total Home Protection the next on 05/10/2017 called and told them the problem and the individual said hold on and put me on hold and never came back. After 20 minutes I hung up. And 12:02 I called again and this time another individual who represented himself as manager pick up the phone. I told him about how fraudulent everything seems. He said he will personally call me and make sure the problem is resolved in the next 30 minutes. He never called back but 4 hours later, an email came with another plumber's phone number this time called Royalty Plumbers and Air Conditioning Services. I called this number and the calls goes to answering machine and the message says voice box is full.

I believe that all these numbers not working for one reason or another is not a coincidence. I have a belief that this company is functioning only to defraud the American people with fake home warranty protection policy. There is no functional underlying network of service providers in an event of submitting a claim. They claim in the contract that policy holder can check the status or file a new claim Online but that is a lie. When I asked them how come I cannot check or file a claim online they said it under repair. I have a sincere belief that the check status section has never been operate nor will it ever be.

I looked up Total Home Protection online. When I had a pool problem, I was referred to this certain guy who came in, but he wouldn't even submit a report. I paid the $45 copayment and I kept calling him every day, "Could you please submit a report? I need the pool to be fixed." After one week, he just wrote anything and sent it. I told him, "This is not right." I brought somebody else while I was working with him. This next guy said the filter needs to be changed, but the company is refusing to do that. They have been trying everything to get out of it. This is not somebody that I know. It was referred by the warranty company. It dragged on for about three or four weeks. I'm very disappointed and even thought of cancelling. I told Total Home Protection, "Can you find me someone else?" They said, "Okay, we'll find somebody else. We'll even waive the copayment for you."

I brought two companies, one theirs and the other was the pool company that I wanted to hire, which told me they won't start the service until I do the repair. My pool was starting to go bad because I don't have a pool guy and I really want to hire this company. They said the filter needs to be changed. The filter is covered but the warranty company tried to get out of it by finding an excuse not to cover it. The manager offered $200, then another manager pumped it up to $315 towards fixing of the problems because they know I need to change the filter. I left several messages to the manager that I spoke to and the one who offered me $315 never called me back. I was going to ask him about the $45 for the copayment on top of the $315, but I've never gotten an answer. I told the guy "Go ahead and change the filter." I was going to pay the difference.

I would not ring Total Home in the future. I didn't want to go through that. I paid upfront but it's very unfair and unprofessional. If it's covered, it's covered. More than one person said the filter needs to be changed. Even the guy said "I've worked with a lot of warranty companies. This one would have been covered in a minute. It wouldn't be a question." I already recommended other people to Total Home Protection and then there were going to be more people, but I'm not going to do that in the future. I am very dissatisfied.

I asked for a refund. They gave me a runaround, then they sent me a document. Well I don't sign my rights away. I called Chase Bank, and THS has an agreement with them that if there is a dispute they won't fight it and will refund fully. The contract states, "THP reserves the right to offer cash back in lieu of repair or replacement in the amount of our actual cost, which at times may be less than retail, to repair or replace any covered system, component, or appliance." Now they just called my while I'm writing a RELEASE AGREEMENT.

He said Total Home Protection have said that he has a job to be done but they haven't sent the work order. He said that he needs that work order for him to come and do their stuff. I called Total Home again and they said they're going to send right away and they did. The contractor said that he received the email but the attachment wasn't there. I contracted for a home warranty protection plan with Total Home Protection and had 30 days to review the contract which was not sent out. We had to call again for the contract. Since our house was a short sale the contract did not cover us so I called to cancel the contract on April 19 (had gotten the contract March 27). I spoke to Dane who said no problem he would cancel the contract. I went out of town returning April 29 and I saw I had been charged another $375.38 again and my contract obviously had not been cancelled. I will try again 5-1 to speak to a representative. I was told their offices are closed.

When I was online, a guy from Total Home Protection called me. He convinced me I should buy and based on the prices, I did.

I called Total Home Protection once, since I joined, about my oven. I had cooked a meal and I turned it off. And then I turned it back on to do something else and it just kept getting cool and it wouldn't start. I told them what I thought the problem was and that I needed someone to come out and look at it. Total scheduled it and the guy came out the next day or the day after. He fixed it so I’m pleased. Total Home Protection is good and so is their coverage. I recommend them.

My water heater went out, so I called Total Home Protection and then I got an automated email saying who my contractor was going to be. I essentially gave them an idea of what was going on. Their customer web portal was not up at that time and it took a day for me to get a response back. I also got two different emails. The first email told me that it was going to be zero dollars because when I first signed up, they gave me two free service charges. I got another email back 30 minutes later telling me it was going to be $45. So I called them and I said, “Hey, this shouldn’t be $45,” and they said, “Oh, yeah. You have two credits on there,” so they wiped it and I didn’t get charged for it.

The only problem I had was that I was told I was supposed to get a call from the contractor but I didn’t. I eventually called the contractor and he said he just got our information in. We set up a time for the following day to have him come and he said he was going to come between 8:00 and 12:00. So I took the day off work, but I didn’t get any phone call and he didn’t arrive. I called him and he said he didn’t have our information. Then he said, “I have to call the warranty company to get the information.” I was confused. Then he didn’t give me a call back again that day, so I had to call him the next day. There was a lot of me giving them a call and leaving voicemails.

It was a little disheartening because that was the coldest week of the whole year so far. Luckily, we have a fireplace, so we were able to heat it up and it was only cold for about three of those days. But we didn’t have heat until about a week and a half later. They might have been able to come out on a Friday and ordered the part if they got approved by the warranty. The contractor said he would give me another call back once he got it approved, but he didn’t get it approved until a Monday. Then they came out on a Tuesday and got it up and running. The contractor showed me afterward what they did and the guy explained everything.

Overall, I had no problem with Total Home Protection. They did everything that they possibly could. I think they need to vet who they're using as contractors a little bit better. If I had gone straight through that contractor without the home warranty, I would've dropped them in a minute. The lack of communication was a bit appalling in my opinion. Then anytime I called, it seemed like as if I was in the wrong 'cause I shouldn’t have been calling as much as I would. His customer service was not great, but Total Home Protection was perfect.

Then he came out two days afterwards, looked at it, didn't take him long, was professional and took care of the issue. We had to order a part and it took about five business days before he put it on. When I was travelling from New York to Florida, I went to visit my daughter and I got a call from Total Home Protection. They were explaining to me what kind of service they provide. At the time I was trying to getting them off the phone because I was driving. I told him I was driving and that I'd call him back if I could. He asked how long before I get where I'm going so I told him about four hours. Diligently, he called back again. The persistence got me to thinking that I needed some protection and it felt right. When he called back again, I decided that I was going to get it. He was a good salesman.

My daughter goes to school in New York. She lost her mom so I spend a lot of time up there comforting and helping her out. So, I'm not always home. My cousins, who are at the house, told me that the washing machine stops when it gets to cycle and beeps. So they shut the machine off and waited until I got home. When I got home after two weeks, I tried it on and it has completed the cycle. So about two weeks later, I went to go do laundry again and the same thing happened again. So I called Total Home Protection and on that day, I opened the garage and the garage made a popping sound and the door stopped rolling. At first, the information didn't get to the vendors that they sent me as fast as the email got to me. They weren't aware who I was and what I wanted. But I called Total Home Protection back and figured it out.

When I called the first time, the individual was helpful. When I called the second time, I assumed that the information should have been put into the computer and then I wouldn't have to go through the explanation process. But I had to and I did it. Then the third time I called back, I had to explain again. And that was a little bit annoying because I thought that after calling the first, second and third time I shouldn't have to explain again. I assumed somebody put it in the computer, because on calling after that I had no problems of them realizing or knowing who I was.

But when the techs finally came, they were excellent and very professional. They did their jobs very adequately and called back to check and make sure that I was satisfied. My interaction with the vendors were a lot smoother than that with Total Home. But I'm glad I chose them because if I hadn't the cost would have been a lot more expensive for me. It was a good investment and I was glad that their sales rep called me the day that he called me.

It caused an issue because my wife works from home so she expected them during this time and the guy showed up late and she was on a conference call. Also, he left a mess in the bathroom. For the second claim, our washer-dryer was constantly tilting. Mmaybe it was not covered from what I explained, but no one came back and said if it's covered or not.

I would still recommend Total Home Protection to a friend. I’m assuming the one issue that I had isn’t gonna occur again and overall the cost was good. It’s $45 compared to my previous home warranty. I paid $530 and each time I would have someone come out, it was $75. I only got 15 months on it. So I wasn’t planning on using it and wouldn't renew it. My dad bought a house and told me that he's using Total Home Protection and they gave him some free months. When you do that, you're going to have to at least obligate yourself through a whole year of paying $40 which comes up to $507. There were some things I found out the hard way. So the policy wasn't cheap.

Total Home Protection gave me a plumber who never came out. When I called him, his equipment didn't work. I called Total Home Protection back and asked for another plumber, but they tried to send the same one out. I kept leaving him voicemail, but he never returned my call. The customer service supervisor wasn't much of a help. I also spoke to the manager of dispatch and she was totally nasty. So I spoke with her boss and I was told to just hire somebody to do it myself and I did that. They said if the bill was over $100, I need to call and get approval. It's $132 and I figured after the $45, it'd be less than $100 but they wanted approval. They told me to send them the bill, and I'm in the process of doing now, and I hope they pay it. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

He called and set up an appointment and had it repaired in a reasonable amount of time. It works fine now. Also, I've had to call them a few times, but each time they were very pleasant to talk to and very helpful. They got the job done with no issues. I have recommended them to several people.

I had a leak from the bathroom which came down to my ceiling. I called all the plumbers first because I had no idea that my Total Home Protection would take care of it. Then when I decided to call THP, they weren't able to come out the same night that I needed them and I had to get a plumber myself who fixed it but he won't do my wall. He didn't fix my ceiling but he knew somebody else who could fix it. I said I was going to hold off on that because I still got my insurance people to see what's going on.

So I still had a leak and it was coming from the tub as well. When I talked to my insurance and told them what's going on, they said that was fine because they can fix it. They sent a company out to look at it and they gave a quote and they went at it. Then, they said that since I got a plumber already, I have to send them the copy of my receipt and they'd reimburse me for that and it was fine because they did exactly what they said they were gonna do. But the people they sent out to fix the ceiling weren't gonna do it because they wanted to fix it for $600 and they didn't think that the hole that I had was worth $600. A week passed, I told the company that they sent that they need to call my insurance because my insurance said they're gonna have to do it.

By the time they got back to my insurance, the insurance said they weren't gonna do it. The insurance was gonna cover for a certain amount and I will have to come up, out of my pocket, with $200. I said I'm not paying $200 for that to get fixed when the insurance people said that they were gonna do it. Then, the insurance guy asked me to send him a picture of the hole in my ceiling and I did. Then they straight came up and said that they're not going to do it at all because I pulled down the sheetrock off my wall. I said that the sheetrock was hanging off the wall and it fell down on its own and that if he were to ask me to send him pictures from different angles, I could have done that. Better yet, he should have sent somebody out here to look on their own.

Then, he said sorry and that there's nothing that they can do. But it was his own decision. How is he gonna make a decision off of something he didn't see? He should have sent somebody out here that knows what they're looking at. I waited and they got somebody else to fix it but I was so disappointed with them. I really don't want to use them again but I was thinking of the other stuff that I have to do, so I gave them another chance later on when I need something else done. But that was not a good experience. Something kept leaking from the ceiling down to the floor and it's supposed to be an emergency so I felt that they didn't do what they had to.

Then, I had my washing machine fixed. They were talking about a switch and this is going for maybe three weeks now. Nobody has ever come back and nobody has called me about when the switch came in or not for them to put back on my washer. They just fixed it temporarily and got it running but I'm trying to figure out if the switch ever come in or not. But they paid for that and that was fine. They got my appliance working. I just think everything important to me is not important to them. It's not bad but I think I was more disappointed because they had me waiting for a long time to commit that they were gonna do something and they resolved not to do it after I was told it was gonna be done.

The unit went out on a Saturday, and I called the following Monday and I didn't hear anything from them on Tuesday. So, I called them and I was told at that point that my request was still in the kiosk, so they could find someone. Later on, someone from Total Home called me and said they found someone and he will be contacting me soon. It was late in the afternoon on that same day when the person called me and we set up some arrangements and he came out. It was a very positive and smooth experience. Since the repair, I have not had used the AC a lot but it's working perfectly. I turned it on for a while and I'm not having any problems so far. My overall experience with Total Home has been very positive. They're prompt and right on point.

My account was closed by Dane ** & Kim without consent so repairs to my dishwasher wouldn't be repaired. I originally called in to have my dishwasher repaired and the repairs were immediately denied after the technician came to my home. After a few days of calls between the technician and the warranty company we agreed to have it repaired. I then called and spoke with Dane because I was concerned that I was going to continue to have problems with the warranty company and asked if I could request to cancel my account on February 1. He said, "Sure that wouldn't be a problem" and I would still have the repairs done.

Over the weekend I decided I didn't want my account canceled and called in to make sure it wouldn't be. I was then informed that my account was canceled and my repairs wouldn't be covered. I requested to speak with a manager and got Kim who advised me that she and Dane canceled the account because I asked for a future date of cancellation. She then began to yell and say I could contact a lawyer and waste my money for a $35 warranty. I have never dealt with a company that is this horrible to customers. Per the contract all cancellation requests are to be made in writing.

It took two weeks before it completely went out and the next day, I called in and filed the claim, and they were very friendly and knowledgeable. They got a serviceman out the next day to look at the compressor. He went over all the different stuff, and what could be the problem, and then he diagnosed it, I was happy with the conclusion, and they eventually replaced the compressor. I would recommend them to anybody that's interested in a home protection service.

Called for claim on garbage disposal (since my plan covers plumbing). They send a plumber who immediately replaces the garbage disposal and puts it in the trash can (no test no examination). The next day, warranty company says the garbage disposal was leaking and it was rusty and the damage started more than 11 days ago, therefore, they would not cover it (Neither the plumber nor anyone else looked closely at the garbage disposal). Just like that. An incoherent, irrelevant, crazy reason to just get away from covering the disposal.

Moreover, a short story, the plumber takes a look at a leaking toilet. After three visits and no success at fixing it, he says there is a crack on it and needs to be replaced. Guess what? Warranty doesn't cover it either. I called them and they are very well trained in apologizing and telling you they will call you because they need to talk to their manager. No calls. Nothing. A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. STAY AWAY AND PAY A BIT MORE FOR A LITTLE RESPECT.

I was with another warranty company that was less than reputable and I was looking for a replacement. I saw something online about Total Home Protection and looked into them. I got an estimated bid from them on a monthly basis and took it from there. I'm new with them and hopefully, I don't need them too often. However, I've had to have service done on my heater twice since I've been with them. If there was a complaint to be had, it'd be that there was a lack of communication between Total and myself or the consumer. I shouldn't have to keep calling Total to find out who's gonna come out.

The last claim was just this month. I woke up on a Saturday morning and my house was 50 degrees. It was 27 degrees outside and my heater at home was cycling but it wasn't staying on. When I got up, I called Total and requested an emergency repair. I talked with Jennifer who was very helpful. She said she would file an emergency repair order. But by Monday, I had not gotten any information or I did not have anybody coming out. I called again and talked to Keith. He said the work has been assigned to a contractor. They gave me the contractor's phone number and I called them. They said they did not have a work order from Total and that they would call Total and get back with me. The contractor didn't get the work order until Tuesday and came late that evening but they had to come back Wednesday because they didn't have a part on their truck to fix it. But so far, everything is working the way it's supposed to.

In fact, I even had one service company go and sign up with them to get on their list to provide services. I have a refrigerator-freezer combination, side-by-side and the control on the front of the door had stopped working. I submitted my claim over the phone and didn't have any difficulty with it whatsoever. A contractor was sent within the day.

In December I had a piece of piping that had to be fixed on my supply system for my swimming pool. I had a very good service and quick turnaround with it. The people that they sent out were very understanding and competent. I explained what the issue was and what had happened in the past. And in this particular situation, there had been previous work on the system where I needed the repair. They listened to what I was saying, and got the correction made and I've had no difficulty with it since then. I had total satisfaction.

My wife and I felt like we're getting older and we should try to work it in our budget in case something bad happens. That's why I bought this servicing for heating and cooling systems 'cause they are very expensive to replace. They are the fifth company I've been with in the last 18 months and at this point I have nothing but good things to say.

There was a little bit wrong though in my most recent claim with Total Home Protection but it was not that much upsetting. What happened was my cook stove went out and so they sent a man out here. A service call was $45. He reported back to Total Home Protection and they agreed that it would better to buy a new one. They allowed me $200 and it's gonna cost about $350 to do it. So, they didn't play what they advertised they do. They did pay some but they didn't pay it all. It has been about two weeks before I received the check. Also, setting up somebody to come here seems to be a long period of time. It took a week for the technician to arrive after the company contacted him.

I have no problem with them at this time and I'll continue to do with them as long as everything seems to be fine. And I'm hoping that I don't have to call them. I'd rather pay so much on monthly service and not have to go through all of this. I just did it as a backup for the cost. They are not perfect but they're a lot better than the ones I've had.

The guy that came out to do the repairs was really nice. He showed me how to take care of all the equipment properly and how to clean everything and to make sure it was being cared for the way it was supposed to be. He gave me a run down since I hadn't been there very long. It was nice. The only thing I was disappointed at was the replacement part was refurbished and I thought it was going to be new. They said that their company requires it to be refurbished. The repairman first stated that there wasn't a problem with the refrigerator, the exhaust fan was too old, and he would have to rebuild the mother board of my oven. I continued to complain about my refrigerator not freezing and that's when the same repairman return and then stated that "there is a leak somewhere".

Total HomeShield then stated that I must and I did present a inspection report to them proving that the appliances is in good working condition. They refused to fix or replace my exhaust fan, continued to state that "it's too old", refused to fix my refrigerator until I pay for a "leak test" at a additional cost of $125. About a 2 weeks later the repairman took out the mother board of the oven, and stated that he will be back in 7 to 10 days. Well it's been 2 weeks later and I spoke to several Total HomeShield Representatives. The last one is Dane at ext. 710, and he stated that the appliance co. told him that they "should have the oven repaired by 11/19/16." However, I'm beginning to second guess the value in having some of the things that’s covered in their package because based on my past experience whenever I called for something that’s going wrong and I've always had home warranty since I purchased this house, sometimes I just get the feeling they had been way too interrogative. Also, I'm still waiting on the information in the mail which I'm supposed to get with the warranty to go over some details because it was mostly something that was discussed over the phone.

I signed up for Total Homeshield on the internet. The reason why I was trying to get somebody else was because I got a contract from American Home Shield and for everything they said they would do, there were 10 things or stipulations where they wouldn't pay. However, Total Homeshield didn’t put down how much it's going to cost me per month. I never got to the point that they would say it was going to cost me X dollars for the warranty. They never said that anywhere on the internet. I don’t know what it is in writing of what's going to cost per month.

I never received the contract because when I talked to the guy from Total Homeshield, I said I'd give him my credit card number and he said he'd email the contract. I took their word that they were going to live up to their part of the deal. When I tried giving the number he said he'd get it sent to me. It's been a couple of weeks and it's getting scary because I gave them my account number at the bank and have received nothing from them. I have done my part, but they haven’t done theirs. I thought that at some point in time I would have received the contract telling me what they're going to do and not do. I want to compare their contract with the one that I've been carrying for about 15 years with American Home Shield and I'm not going to cancel until I find out what Total Homeshield offers. I'll give the guy a call to find out what's going on.

I spoke to two different people from Total Homeshield who might want to consider using different sales tactics. Pressure sales is never good. I felt like I was at a used car lot. It’s like doing one of those things for a timeshare. I would caution people about the way Total Homeshield tries to get them to buy.

We talked to some local people, some of our friends and relatives, and we decided that having a home warranty might not be a bad idea. I did some online comparisons and then the different companies started sending me emails. I got a couple of phone calls and discussed it with my husband and we decided that Total Homeshield was probably the best deal out of the ones that we talked to. We looked at the different things that Total provided as compared to some of the other companies that we looked at -- items that were covered, cost, and cost-effectiveness. We purchased the warranty a month ago and the sales representative was great. He explained everything to me and I didn't really have a whole lot of questions but he left his name and his number told me that if I came up with any questions to get back in touch with him and he'd be more than happy to answer them. Overall, it was a good experience and it gives us a little peace of mind.

I have three A/C units and one just quit cooling. I got an impression initially that my air conditioners were covered and asked the technician to check on the others to make sure they're not going to go out too. I was told they don’t do service on one and not repair. Then I was told the A/Cs were not covered. I had to pay $125 a piece and also had to pay additional $8 or $10 to my policy because I have three units. I wound up paying $450 off my pocket. The other two units only had to have new filters put in, but the tech put new filters in all three, which I had to provide because I keep them all the time and I didn’t want to pay $50 for each. I kept thinking why the work was quick and I was told all was needed was cleaning.

Lots of times I've talked to Total Homeshield to use the warranty, they said I am not covered for something which was not what I understood. I'm looking at $700 this year on what I thought they'd cover. The claims reps were very nice, though. They were very convenient and thoughtful. I couldn’t ask for better service people.

Getting protection seemed like a good idea because I’m a single female and I own two houses. So I thought it would be better just to have a Plan B. I just told the people at Total Homeshield what I wanted and they gave it to me. It was an easy sale. I asked the representative if there were any out-of-pocket expenses, and he said there were none. It turns out, there is a $60 fee each time someone is called out and he wasn’t quite upfront with that. When I sent him a message after I had paid for it, to say something about that, he never acknowledged it. That’s the only negative I had. But, the $60 fee didn’t bother me because that’s not unreasonable.

I called my sales rep and thought I was getting Home Shield, but I got Total Home Shield instead. When I had checked out the other one's price, it was a little pricier so I decided to give Total Home Shield a shot. The salesman was pleasant and helpful when I purchased it but it's been close to a month and I haven't received anything like a packet or contract from them.

I went online looking for a home warranty company after having very horrible experiences with several companies. I was also looking for the lowest price and I found Total Homeshield. The sales rep continuously called me until he closed the sale, but he was professional and exceptionally well. It's been an interesting and rewarding experience overall.

I had a home warranty before and during the time, my husband was sick. And so it got away from me and I didn't pay it when it was up for renewal. I was very pleased with the one that I had before and when I saw Total Homeshield on Facebook, I said, "This is something I need to do while I'm looking at this. Let me take care of it now." And that's what I did. I was very pleased with the guy that did the enrollment for me. Everything that I asked him, he had an answer for me. He was really knowledgeable about everything with the policy.
