ServicePlus Home Warranty costs

Plans generally range from around $50 per month to $80 per month. Prices will typically vary by location, home size and selected plan, so the best way to get an accurate cost estimate is to request a quote from ServicePlus Home Warranty.

ServicePlus Home Warranty coverage exclusions

Preexisting conditions are not covered, which is standard with most home warranty contracts. Additionally, there may be parts or components of covered items that are excluded from coverage.

For example, while air conditioning systems are covered under the Platinum plan, replacement filters for those systems are not provided, according to ServicePlus’s sample service agreement. With appliances, items like knobs, dials, shelving and any removable accessories are generally excluded from coverage.

ServicePlus Home Warranty claims

You can file a claim 24/7 online or by calling the ServicePlus claims department toll-free. After you submit your claim to ServicePlus, it will assign one of its approved local contractors to your case within two business days (four days on weekends and holidays). The service provider will then contact you to schedule your appointment, and you’ll pay a service call fee, which is specified in your contract.

ServicePlus guarantees labor for 30 days and parts for 90 days. Should a failure occur due to the labor provided on your repair within 30 days, ServicePlus will send a technician to fix the problem at no additional cost to you.

There is no limit on the number of claims you can make during your contract term. However, there are dollar caps on some covered items per contract term.

ServicePlus Home Warranty coverage limits

ServicePlus Home Warranty places coverage limits on certain items. If the cost of a repair or replacement exceeds this amount, you’ll be responsible for covering the remainder of the costs yourself.

ServicePlus caps coverage at $1,000 for certain brands and at $1,500 generally for access, diagnosis, repair or replacement of all covered items. In addition, it has some per-item coverage limits. This is the maximum dollar amount the company will pay out per contract term for specific items.

*For access, diagnosis, repair or replacement (per contract term)

Does ServicePlus have a waiting period?

Yes, coverage kicks in 30 days after enrollment. In certain circumstances, ServicePlus may waive the waiting period.

However, you’ll need to call for a quote as it doesn’t list its plan pricing or service call fees online.

One star is way too high! My AC went out and was called in to service plus, after not getting through, I called hqs. This was in July! Never assigned and after I complained, my repair request was closed. I called again, and they said they were trying to find a repairman. After I threatened to sue, they sent me an email offering $200 if the problem was covered. I went ahead and had it repaired out of pocket, almost $2000. I just received a notice they were sending someone out. Received this notice on August 18. This company is a total scam. A total nightmare. DO NOT BUY A PLAN.

One of the worst companies out there for warranty service - They prey on contractors and move from one to the other. Lucky we only had a few very small amounts with them. But for them to lie about payments would be paid for over 9 months to only keep delaying saying payment was coming the next month. You can not even reach their AP department directly, Just someone that is on the phone that is trained to be nice and say "I am Sorry, Payment will be made next month." Contractors - STAY AWAY!!!! Homeowners - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! Do you really want to give out your hard earned money to someone that can not pay their contractors and also do everything can do to try to find a way to deny claims.

This is the worst warranty company, our ac went on the blink and they said someone would call in 24 to 48 hours. Well no one called and some company showed up a week later wanting to look at our ac unit. This is in the middle of the summer in Texas so no claim. Well our refrigerator started leaking from the bottom and they told us it was not covered when on the contract it states that it is covered. This company is a scam. I highly DO NOT recommend them. This company sucks. I had a problem with my AC, it was making a terrible loud vibrating noise that bothered us and prevented us from sleeping. I called in and reported the problem on their automated system on 6/30/26. Their policy says that it takes them two days to assign a repair tech. Well that didn't happen. They emailed me late on 7/1/26 after their business hours to say they didn't have enough information and I had to call into them to provide the missing information before they'd process my claim. I called the next morning on 7/2/26 and there is no option to get ahold of a live person to collect my missing info, nor was there a way I could modify my original claim to provide any missing info online! I found out later that day on 7/2/26 that they cancelled my claim! How rude!

Why don't they call me to collect the missing information instead of telling me to call in, when I can't get ahold of a person to take the missing info over the phone? Then they cancelled the claim! Lame! So I put in a new claim online instead of on the phone, later that day on 7/2/26 being sure to enter all information online this time. I didn't get a reply until 7/6/26 that they would assign a technician to my case. (Weekends dont count!) The tech called later that day and came out the next day on 7/7/26 (this being a whole week after filing my original claim!). Thank goodness my AC wasn't broken or we would have melted in this heat, but it took them a whole week to get someone out here! This is not acceptable! Then the technician said the problem was with needing more freon added, and he said the warranty company had to approve this before he could do it.

The next day I get an email from the warranty company stating that they won't approve more freon without a leak test and I had to pay for the leak test of $140 separately as it's not covered by the warranty company. The tech should have told me this when he came out but either he didn't know or was ignorant of the warranty company's policy which would incur another trip charge. In the mean time I started looking for help elsewhere because a week and no resolution was unacceptable, so I used another HVAC company to come out and check my problem. My new tech found the source of the loud noise right away and fixed it in 10 minutes! I didn't even need more freon as that wasn't the problem! Incompetent company and poor customer service. I do not recommend, and am not renewing policy on my anniversary!

I would not even give them a one star if that was a choice. They do not do what they say. When the repairman sends in the report and if there is a word that means the same as another. The repairman said my compressor is locked up instead of saying it will not come on so the warranty company will not cover my cost. He (the guy at the warranty company) even admitted it is the same thing but since he said locked up they will not cover it and said it’s a secondary issue. The line blew a hole and let the Freon out in the house so the repairman fixed it to add Freon in to the system so he could check out. Since he fixed the hole without the warranty company saying it’s ok to fix the leak so he could checkout the system. Now they will not pay any thing for the replacement. They will come up with excuses not to pay you. I hope I explained it clearly to understand.

I have faithfully paid my bill every month since October 23, 2023. I filed my first claim on July 9, 2026. My air conditioner stopped working and here it is July 13, 2026 and it still isn’t working. I have contacted the company (ServicePlus) 4 times. Each time I get the same response, "You should get an email within 24-48 hours." I called today and was told that today made 48 hours and I should receive an email today and a call from a technician. Well here it is 1:00 pm and I haven’t heard from anyone. I’m not happy with the service and results so far.

Our air conditioner actually stopped working on July 6, 2026, but it started working again during the early morning hours of July 7, 2026 and worked until it stopped working sometime during the night on July 8, 2026. That is when I called my claim in. My wife and I are disabled senior citizens and it doesn’t feel the greatest when the inside temperature is almost 90 degrees. We are going to form an official complaint with the attorney general. This is absolutely ridiculous being without air conditioning since July 8, 2026. It’s hot in here. The company is a complete fraud. First, they promised everything, the truth is they do not cover anything. I will give them a rating of minus 0. As a matter of fact, I am filing a formal complaint against them. Please, if you have been deceived by this company, get in contact with the BBB. They did not send me the Home guarantee guide until a month has passed and they already charged me 500 dollars to star on February.

When I realize 2 more payments of 299 have charged on my credit card. On March the 2nd and April the 2nd. When I asked for service. Because I paid for the Platinum package, they were supposed to charge me only 45 dollars for service call. When I checked the paperwork they were asking for a 100 dollars for service call. When I requested a service nothing was covered. The first page said they cover everything. When you read the subsequent pages, they worded this way: service parts are covered and you read the two lines of what is covered and 80 lines of what it isn't covered, if you are lucky to be able to see the type, that is minuscule. The owner of the company have a email address that isn't existing. If you try to contact him, you aren't going nowhere.

He also have acount on Instagram and LinkedIn. You can't get to him. All the contacts are fake. Please read the fine print of the contract and you will find out. Don't fall for it. And if they get you, please let's get together and file a Class act demand in Court. People that scam should be punished by the law. They target older people.

I am also complaining to the Council of Age. They don't want to give my money back. I request a refund because my stove top reheated and goy damage, of course, they send a good local man who determine the glass should have been change because the heat will not be conducting the right way because the glass was damaged. They only cover a 16 dollars sensor. The worst part is that I call and ask to terminate the contract and they still charged a different Credit Card without my authorization! I will pursue fraud charges. I don't give them the credit card number, but somehow they find out ??? How? Please don't fall for this scam!!!

This was the absolute worst home warranty experience. I had some electric problems. The first person fixed the symptom, not the root problem that appeared a few months later. My heat wasn't working. The tech said a compressor needed to be replaced. That didn't sound right to me. I had my HVAC people come out, as I have a maintenance agreement with them. They confirmed my heating system was working. It was an electrical issue. It took a while before Service Plus could get a tech out. Then my power went out throughout my home except my refrigerator, coffee maker and my wi-fi (thankfully, I could still work). Fortunately, it was a warm fall, but it was now December. I called an electrician and had to replace my circuit panel. Service Plus agreed to refund my money. After countless calls and promises it is in process. It took 2 1/2 years to receive. The technicians did not seem very qualified at their job.

Waiting on tech to be assigned. Called everyday nothing. That's been 6 months ago, they still have as open not assigned. Again we had to fix.

I called ServicePlus and now I hear that there are another company called Hope Plumbing Service and they merged. I was having an issue with the dishwasher. The representative or the dishwasher guy was supposed to come over. He was rude and obnoxious and I decided not to even work with them. Now today I’m having a problem with a one of my refrigerator. I spoke to somebody a young lady from I think she said she was in Louisiana and she wasn’t answering service. She did not have a lot of knowledge I asked for an email. She didn’t have an email. I need somebody to come out and fix my refrigerator. I gave her the model number she didn’t even want to take that information.

I’m not too happy with this company right now. I hope they’re gonna rectify it because I’m an interior design of 44 years and I’m a great referral person to get them more business. I looked up the CEO and he’s in jail for tax evasion. Davis **. That’s a terrible shame. He has a beautiful family anyway now I find out Service Plus and Hope Plumbing are merge together. Let’s see if they’re gonna help me at all. Then they try to make you say on the voicemail. Yes, I will accept that you’re gonna bill me and all these things who’s gonna say yes on the phone like that. If you don’t press yes or no, you can’t send the information so I had to press yes for now till I find out if I speak to somebody who is reputable in the company, I’m a business woman an interior designer for 44 years, I know what’s what.

I filed a claim on 9/13/25 for my well pump. They first tried to deny it saying I filed for a sump pump which is covered in basic plan. I had bought the additional plan to include the well pump as well - platinum coverage. It is March 2nd, 2026 and despite my calls I have yet to receive my $500 check for a $2000 loss. The excuse is that has been scheduled to come out in the next batch but they don’t know when that batch will be issued. In the meantime they have taken out an additional $12 for premiums for past two months without notice of any increase. They do not mail out any statements.

This is my second claim and ServicePlus has been the absolute worst with both claims!! It has been a month and a half since I submitted my claim for a dishwasher repair. The tech did come out right away, but they claim they are waiting on a part. ServicePlus has been unresponsive and today closed my claim w/o repair or replacement. VERY poor customer service. No follow through and no accountability!!

I have filed 4 claims in 4 years and all were denied. A ceiling fan stopped working and no repair services were available in my area so I was asked to find one myself and pay the fees for a service call for a diagnostic and quote. The service call was $125 and the quote for the fan would be around $275 to replace due to the height and model. ServicePlus paid $0. I filed a claim for a heater blower but no techs in the area so I had to find one. Everyone I called (5 providers) refused to work with Service Plus. I paid out of pocket again.

I filed a claim on my water heater. There was water leaking out around the tank. I was told the warranty does not cover any water leaks on a water heater. Claim denied. I filed a claim for an ice maker on my refrigerator. You can guess. The warranty does not cover ice makers or water dispensers. I asked for a refund after the second claim was denied or at least a prorated amount but I was told that is not possible and no refund would be issued. I have not found anything that is covered by this warranty and I would not waste my money.

I would rate my experience a Zero, I can never get a technician to come out. They just want to give me 200 and sweep it under. They never want to send anyone out to see what’s wrong with my furnace or appliances. And the time I called over my dishwasher it took somebody 3 weeks to come out. I have called over my furnace and they don’t want to send anyone out. I do not need the 200 dollars. I need a technician to come out. They are the worst company to get warranty from. Anybody has to be better than these people. I’m going to file with better business bureau on them.

This company is fraudulent. They should be not allowed to do business. They pressured me into signing up for a plan. They denied my claim even though the plan is active. They are stating reason that is not accurate.

Great service, professional, punctual. My wife recommended Service Plus to her sister for her family. We had an issue with our dishwasher and instead of buying a new one, we called in Service Plus and a technician came to replace. I believe it was a gasket, a whole lot cheaper than $1000 at Home Depot for a new machine.

We were pressured into signing up for their 3.5 year prepaid plan. After reviewing their company I felt we needed to go somewhere else. I asked for a cancellation and refund (Less than 24 hours after signing up). They told me the refund would take 15-30 days to be returned to my bank account.

Horrible company. They don't cover anything and you can't cancel service. They lie, put you on year contract without telling you and I told guy I'll just not pay. He say, "Do what you want but we come after you and get our money." those are his words. I had to pay 650 dollars to have water heater fixed. They don't cover items under warranty so ud it's new. Don't get this company coverage, waste of money
