    GE RightHeight Design Series GFW490RPKRR. Would give a "Zero"! I contacted service warranty for repair service on my front-load washer due to a loud noise and a service repair tech came out and replaced a couple of parts, including the "stator". He stated, the noise should quiet down. It did not. I contacted again for return repair check.

    2nd visit, repair tech adjusted parts and stated the machine should take about a week to level out, balance and noise should quiet down. After 2 weeks, the noise has gotten worse and is horrible, so loud it sounds like the machine is going to come apart. I contacted service warranty again. The repair tech was scheduled to show up on 1/02/26 between 8am - 5pm; he did not show/call. I did not receive any communication until 6:30 pm that night via text only stating of a new appointment date of 1/06/26 between 8 am - 5 pm was scheduled. No apologies for any inconveniences of my entire day/time wasted. When the repair tech finally showed on 1/05/26 (again rescheduled), it was at 4:30 pm and was for maybe 10 minutes.

    On this 3rd visit, the repair tech DID NOT even turn on my machine to check what was wrong so, he did not know how it was actually functioning, nor what noise it was making. So, he had no idea what part he actually needed or not. He stated, the service warranty company would be contacting me with their determination of whether they would repair or replace my machine next.

    After a week of not hearing from them, I contacted them to find out what was the status was of my repair and a couple of days later, they sent me an email with the claim settlement determination of an unacceptable amount of $496.50. They say they determined the amount for the claim using the AJMadison website at a reduced price. The amount I paid was not a discounted price as you found on AJMadison, I paid local retail original price of $1295. So, that is an unfair determination of value. Obviously, having a service warranty contract is not the way to keep your appliances repaired and in working order and to be assured any chance of a faithful replacement warranty.

    I have taken excellent care of my appliances and they are in immaculate condition and well maintained; not a scratch on them, cleaned regularly, door left open to dry after each use, etc. This service warranty was not worth the price and they did not even try to fix my machince which is what I want, nor did they respect me and my time.

    Appointment was not written up under my warranty. So the repair guy was supposed to charge me. Fortunately, he has been to my address before and knew I had a warranty. Also, they keep writing my services up for my washer, when this was for my dryer. This particular appointment, after the guy ordered my part, got cancelled. After a couple weeks, I heard nothing from them, so I called the service line. I was told it was cancelled. Fortunately, the gentleman saw where the part was ordered and was able to still order my part and then set up the appointment to have it installed.

    Really good service. Just had trouble in the process of getting the work done. Had trouble getting a number to call somebody and speak to somebody personally. That was the only trouble I had. If I had to pay if I had to get reimbursed for all questions I had but had trouble talking to somebody on the phone, one number was talking to people in Canada, which was all French. Did not understand anything they were saying. Would be great if we could get it easier process on filing a claim.

    If we could rate this company a negative we would. Unfortunately the lowest rate available is 1 star. 3 weeks ago, following the instructions of our 5 year Lowe’s Assurant extended warranty we placed a call for repair. The rep indicated they have no record of our extended warranty. We submitted the requested documents - sales receipt for the 4 appliances AND the sales receipt we received in the mail for the extended warranty.

    Assurant has now responded that the documents submitted do not include the appliance #s. Both documents include each one of the appliance #s. It seems they are doing everything to breach the warranty contract (a ploy) ASSURANT REP - PLEASE do not waste our time responding with a private message. We do not need another request. We need you to COMPLY WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY by sending the technician to evaluate and repair the appliance.

    We subscribed for 2 yrs for our GE range. This year we had to have a knob adjusted. I called and was told to call Sears for repair for them. I scheduled an appt and they canceled the day they said they would come. They rescheduled for the following week and canceled again the day of the appt. I repeatedly called Assurant. They wouldn't answer. Then when I was able to speak to someone he laughed as if it were a joke. I called again and got someone who was incoherent and honestly sounded drunk.

    I again called and the woman hung up on me when I explained the difficulty I was having. Another call and I got a woman who helped me and scheduled a GE technician which I had requested to begin with. It was a horrible experience and overall I had to wait 4 weeks before the stove was repaired. With the exception of the last person who helped me, the rest are buffoons. We will not be renewing this service. Don't waste your money with their incompetence.

    I have bought multiple of these appliance warranties for several properties. The first service call went well and everything was fixed. I made a second claim, then third, a few months ago, that still is not resolved. Multiple part replacements then determined that the unit was unrepairable. I have spent countless hours and hundreds of phone calls trying to get the technician / Assurant to resolve. Getting nowhere. I wouldn't recommend purchasing one of these unless you need to raise your blood pressure. Turning into a circular game, trying to get a resolution with what was sold as a warranty but is beginning to look like a scam.

    As a individual having to initiate a claim through Assurant is starting to become very difficult. We had a emergency issue with the AquaGo Tankless Water Heater prior to a camping trip to Maine. I contacted Assurant and explained the who situation; got a email on actions I needed to do; I complied and provided everything that was asked of me within the email. This all was accomplished on 21 Oct after returning from out trip. To date I have called at least 4 times for status and have not been given a satisfactory answer and it's time I hear from Management on claim number **.

Finally on the third appointment a tech showed up, repaired the issue, wasn’t able to replace a second set of rollers because he was unfamiliar how to get them off, left a screw in the floor, and lost a second one.     I was not happy with the insurance send a tech to fix the machine on the November 17, 2025 and he ordered all the part and they came back defective and he can not fix my original machine then the insurance call me saying they can not cover for a new machine. They give me a gift card for 470 dollars and I have to put 395 dollars for a new machine. Now they say they can not deliver on December 8 because they do not have the machine in storage and they are saying is coming after December 16, now I have to spend money going to the laundry, I am not happy at all.

    I have a service plan. When the door on my dishwasher would not close, I filed for a repair visit. The first available date was a WEEK out! That is not good service. 1-3 days would be acceptable.     Do not buy this insurance! Today is December 5 and the third time an A & E Factory Service technician has cancelled an appointment to repair a 2 1/2 year old KitchenAid dishwasher. We have been without a dishwasher for over 3 1/2 weeks and Assurant insists that an A & E technician must evaluate the problem before they settle a claim. There is no assurance in this insurance! One-star is too generous! Assurant deserves a 0.

    The claim settlement was grossly minimal. There was no point in buying insurance from Assurant. You worked with Sears to try to repair unit. You were unable to find a part so you decided to send a gift card whose value is only 20% the amount required to buy a replacement and have it installed!

    Updated on 01/12/2026: They are not willing to replace our 3 yr old GE Profile refrigerator. We have had 4 different visits from Technicians and each time we have to wait sometimes for 2 weeks for parts. The compressor had to be replaced and then the e coils aren’t working. We have been without a functioning refrigerator in our home since November, it’s now January. The Technician told us to refuse the parts because what’s causing the problem is the compressor parts don’t fit properly.

    We had to buy a small garage fridge to hold us off. My husband lost his government job 7 months ago so buying anything that expensive wasn’t what we needed. So now another Technician tomorrow and waiting for parts for something they already know but won’t order until the Technician comes and says the same thing he did a few days ago. Then they act like there’s nothing they can do. They make millions of dollars on warranty payments and helping us wasn’t what they wanted to do. They use the sympathetic we understand voice but they don’t give a crap. I’m not even sure they live in this country, so hard to understand. They even know there have been class action suits an BBB complaints for this and other GE appliances. So they would rather make us miserable and spend money and time coming back and forth. You can believe they will be back a few more times.

    Original Review: We tried and tried to get through to the emergency number on Sunday. Our refrigerator broke down and we needed emergency help. Not one person answered. Went through all an options, we were prompted to hold for next available operator. Next thing you know we are disconnected. It happened several times. We ended up having to call someone else who of course charged us 175.00 and proceeded to tell us it would cost us 1,200.00 for a new compressor and they couldn’t fix it until they ordered the part. What the heck is the point of a warranty emergency number if no one answered. I wouldn’t use them, there’s nothing more frustrating than to not get someone to answer or speak to. We will be canceling our contract with them it isn’t worth it.

    I have a GE Monogram gas range that needed repair in July 2025. I purchased an Assurant service protection plan previously and filed a claim for repair due to one of my burners continuously sparking when turned on as well as oven wasn’t preheating properly. Technician came 7/14/25 diagnosed and ordered parts. He came back 8/1/25, fixed the oven and attempted to repair the burner but the part he replaced didn’t fix the issue. He ordered more parts and rescheduled the appointment to 8/14/25. Stove was still operable as again only one burner was a problem so could use my range and oven was fixed. 8/14/25 appt. was cancelled due to a back ordered part. Rescheduled to 8/28/25 parts were here and I called in morning because I didn’t receive confirmation of appt. They gave me run around saying I had to wait till afternoon, I called team services as trying to get to a live person is almost impossible, they indicated I don’t have an appt.

    So wasted a day off from work for nothing. This continues again on 9/10/25 and 9/25/25 no one showed up and was given run around when I called to be cancelled via AI text end of day. Again wasted time off from work and overly frustrated. Technician came out on 10/3/25 and completely took the top of stove top apart replaced wire harness put back to together to find the burner now doing opposite, sparking when knob not on and actually flaming up on its own due to gas leak below burners, smelled like propane in house so due to obvious fire and safety hazard turned gas and power off to range. Technician was unable to fix and ordered more parts and left my range completely unable to use. Rescheduled to 10/29/25 so he could have another technician here with him. In mean time received all parts and was looking forward to 10/29/25 to get range operable again received multiple confirmations of my appt.

    On 10/29/25 8am to 12pm. Day came and no one showed up by noon website said someone was coming but I wasn’t hopeful so started calling spoke to 4 different people at all different phone numbers over an hour trying to get someone to help me. The first person confirmed someone was coming the final number I called confirmed no one was coming and that my claim was closed 10\9\25 due to being fixed. I wanted to cry and yell because I was livid to hear this as it couldn’t be more farther from the truth. All they could do was say sorry and rescheduled to 11/6/25. So I have to take another day off of work with no guarantee someone will show. I filed a complaint with the bureau of consumer affairs and will be filing a complaint with BBB. I wish I never used this company as now my range doesn’t work at all due to their technician.

    I often purchase replacement plans and warranty programs, depending on the actual purchase as in what type of product and of course the total cost. This time I was required to purchase a new replacement plan when replacing an item. It’s not even six months old and has failed.     I bought a Predator 5000 generator in October 2024 with extended warranty and put 40 hours on it in 11 months but then it quit working electrically (overload) not the motor, just electrical, so I took it back. They replaced it with another one and even though I had a two year warranty you’re only allowed one exchange during the warranty period so the second year warranty was basically a waste. Anyway, I exchange it for another one. But to my surprise I had to buy ANOTHER 1 year plan for $299. This new generator broke within three days and I took it back and they wanted me to exchange it again but I didn’t want another one, I wanted a refund. But they won't give an actual refund, they give you a store credit - you don’t get the cash.

    They did refund the money I paid for the additional warranty on the second machine. I would be really thinking over whether you want this predator 5000 because there are obviously major issues.     Impossible to deal, unprofessional. Customer service argumentative especially when it comes the rental process and working with the dealership to start the process. Contract through Maxcare states 7 days of rental, not 3, then fight with you to extend.

    To be clear: assurant support was 5 stars for effort. However they are completely unable to bring any kind of quick resolution to the issue at hand. GE front load washer has been out of commission for 3 weeks. I have spent almost as much on the laundromat than I have on my service contract at this point. August 23rd the request was made. Technician came to diagnose 3 days later. I've called the technician's company about I times. They repeatedly state that the part is delayed or lost. This is a 3 year old washer and I found the part for sale on multiple sites.

    I even offered to order it for them, but this is not possible. If the company is not willing to advertise a reasonable time frame, and acceptable recourse if that time frame is surpassed, then they should not be in the business of offering insurance. E.g. "We'll replace you're entire washer within the next 50 years". If you're a Assurant employee who has the power to effect a positive change, please feel to reach out. I'm doing a whole tour of every review platform in the meantime.

    I’ve had Assurant provide extended warranties on my major kitchen appliances for almost 10 years. They’ve sent out GE service technicians for my GE Monogram’s appliances who were knowledgeable and prompt. This past June, they sent out a Sears Home Services technician who has been a nightmare — late, or just not showing up, wrong diagnoses, resulting in a protracted months-long, ordeal - still ongoing as of today! Each of the almost 10 scheduled visits require my husband or I waiting at the house all day (because the tech is scheduled for 8am to 5pm)!!! Assurant has switched (I think) to TRANSFORM A&E FACTORY SVC LLC, who manages the repair schedule nationwide. Calling their number only takes me to a telephone tree of prompts & choices like cancelling or rescheduling the appointment.

    When I’ve asked Assurant to send out a tech from another company like GE, they say they can’t because Sears started & so has to finish my contract. Three appointments ago (before the last two no -shows) OJ, the tech said he was never coming back. Well, he’s kept his promise. Meanwhile my refrigerator still freezes everything (from gallon jugs of milk to all my vegetables) and Assurant still won’t send out a different technician. I’ve already paid for this “protection,” and I am loath to shell out hundreds of dollars more to get this fixed — the principle of the thing!!!

    I have been dealing with a defective GE front-load washer that has been leaking water for over three months. During this time, I have had five repair visits — none of which fixed the issue. Sears, the contracted repair provider, sends technicians who rely on an AI systems for their customer support and repeatedly fail to resolve the problem (s). My floors are now destroyed from repeated water damage and further torn up by the technicians moving the washer without care. After multiple complaints and having to make a new claim for the SAME non fixed issue- I was finally sent a “master technician” who admitted the washer is not repairable because the leak is coming from the bottom of the machine, which cannot be taken apart and some other computer issue.

    In his own words: It needs to be replaced, UNFIXABLE. Exactly what I have been saying from the start since all the parts sent to fix it never fixed it! Yet despite this, your company has failed to replace the washer or reimburse me so I can obtain a working unit in a timely fashion. Worse, the significant damage to my floors — caused directly by your Covered product and negligent service providers — is not even being acknowledged. I have been told repeatedly that the issue was “escalated” and that I would receive confirmation of a replacement or reimbursement within 2 business days. I was even promised texts or emails with updates. Weeks later, I still have nothing. I call daily, speak to managers and agents who all have different information or are too lazy to look back into the file.

    At minimum tell the same story or information, I am told the same empty line: “You’ll have resolution by the end of the day.” Yet each day ends with no washer, no resolution, no compensation, and no accountability. Meanwhile, I have children, no washer, rising laundromat expenses, and water-damaged floors I now need to pay outta my pocket to repair since clearly y'all don't care. I paid for warranty coverage in good faith — you had no issue taking my payment immediately — yet when it comes time to honor the warranty and address the damages caused, I am left stranded.

    To make matters worse, I am told this mysterious “higher department” that supposedly makes these decisions of reimbursement cannot even be contacted by managers or staff. How is that acceptable? How can you claim a resolution is coming when no one can even reach the department responsible to settle claims? This raises serious concerns about whether this warranty service is fraudulent. I am putting you on notice: If this matter is not resolved immediately — with both a washer replacement and compensation for the damages to my floors or a good solution to my floors — I will be seeking legal recourse and filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and other consumer protection agencies. This situation is beyond unacceptable. I expect immediate action. Hopefully to get others to be aware.

    I bought a Samsung side by side refrigerator freezer from Lowe's and paid extra for insurance coverage. The unit is just over 2 years old. After waiting about 1 week for a tech, and given the wrong day he arrived and confirmed that the evaporator fan motor is bad and need replacement. I asked about the time frame to get a new motor, and he informed me the insurance must approve it first that that can take as long as 3-4 weeks. But hoped in might only be 2 weeks. I have a non-functioning refrigerator and really don't know when and if Assurant will authorize the replacement of this relatively inexpensive part.

    Service on Maytag washer was unsatisfactory. On June 30th, using Assurant website to schedule a repair I was given an appointment for July 7th. When the technician arrived, he did not perform full diagnostics. Rather, he simply replicated the problem we had described and proceeded to start moving the washer away from the wall to access the rear panel. When asked to use a pad to avoid scratching the floor, he replied that he did not have one but asked us to provide a large towel. Upon removing the rear panel and inspecting the washer, he said we needed a new circuit control board, which he ordered and scheduled a follow-up visit (1st available) for July 28th.

    After the replacement part arrived on July 1st, I attempted to reschedule the follow-up appointment for an earlier date but discovered that the incident was listed on the Sears website as “completed.” Attempts to get an explanation or schedule a new appointment through Sears were unsuccessful. However, I was able to reach an Assurant customer service representative at an overseas call center, who told me she had now scheduled a new appointment for July 29th. Regrettably, that appointment (order #**) appeared on the Sears website as “virtual.” All attempts to change this to on-site were unsuccessful. The Sears website relies exclusively on an AI chat bot and most of time so does Assurant's.

    Out of patience and clean clothes I contacted Maytag factory service. They came the following day, did a full diagnostics to verify that only the circuit control board was needed, pulled the unit away from the wall using their own pad to protect the floor and replaced the defective circuit board with the one shipped by Sears. The cost for that visit was $254.18 for which I requested reimbursement. The service provided by Sears was substandard and I am disappointed that Assurant would use them. Multiple requests for Assurant to reimburse the service provided by Maytag factory authorized service have gone unanswered despite having provided necessary documentation.

    Over a year ago I had an issue with an appliance and when serviced under the original warranty it was suggested to purchased an extended warranty for an additional 2 years and I did.     I filed a claim through my phone carrier. I paid the deductible to have the phone replaced. It seemed like a smooth process. I received the replacement phone and immediately noticed it was not a proper replacement. The phone was dirty, the screen was pixelated, the battery wouldn’t hold more than 80% of a charge, the phone wouldn’t connect to my network, and the phone struggled to update.

    I immediately reached out to Assurant and that was when the nightmare started. I was expected to send BOTH phones to them for them to send a second replacement. There was no expedited shipping and this was before a four-day weekend. This would leave me without a phone for at least four days, and that was unacceptable. I am a mom of seven, I work in a sales position that has me an hour and a phone from home in a rural area, and had no way of contacting anyone if there was an emergency. I ended up having to trade in the defective device for an upgraded phone, causing me to incur a new monthly payment on my bill.

    I asked for a refund of my deductible and they refuse. This was a week-long ordeal that honestly caused a severe amount of anxiety because I had a half-working phone with small children at home. I made several posts on social media and the rep for the company was absolutely horrible to deal with. Today, almost two months later, I received an email with a shipping label to send back my device. My concerns are the condition of the replacement device, being out $100 plus the cost of a new phone, and the horrible customer service.

    If I could give 0 stars I would. I called about my granny window air conditioner unit almost a month ago and still nothing has been done about it. My granny is 90 years old and has been paying for your protection plan for 4 years and yall refuse to honor the plan she is paying for. You sent one technician out and he lied on the report so you closed the claim. We made another claim and the technician reschedule the appointment. Today they were supposed to come out and rescheduled it again until the 14th of next month. Seems like you don't mind taking my granny's money but when it comes to having to honor the policy you would rather have her suffer in this hot ass weather.

    Purchased extended warranty on a new 5th wheel and in Feb 2025 the freezer stopped working. Took it to the repair shop and was told the unit needed to be replaced, however Assurant wanted to repair. Now after 4 different repairs and still the same issue, Assurant wants additional repairs to be made all while the repair shop tells them it can't be repaired. Been without the 5th wheel use for several weeks this camping season. Buyers beware when purchasing extended warranty from Assurant. Keep in mind this freezer is less than 20 month old.

    I purchased the extended warranty for a Samsung appliance (washer), my washer has been out of service since 04/17/2025, when my claim was started. They did send YOTA services to try and repair the washer over 6 visits, with no success, so after over 10 calls they finally decided to issue a reimbursement check. That was 06/19/2025, and today is 07/15/2025, and there is still no check received, and no update other than "this has been escalated, and we need to wait longer".

    I have called over 20 times, not even exaggerating in order to get constant updates, as they don't communicate. It is almost 2 months, and I am still out of a working washer, so please do not purchase this extended warranty, it is not worth the time and hassle! I called again today for an update, and the lady answering the phone had the audacity to tell me that I called the wrong number, and should be reaching out to Samsung, which is incorrect. I reached out to Samsung & Samsung helped me get back on the line with them. I am on hold again as I am typing this out, buyer beware!!!

    So far, very disappointed with the service protection policy from Assurant. They contract with local repair companies and I have tried twice to have a leak repaired in my refrigerator. Both technicians said they either don't know how to work on my type of fridge or it is not listed in their system. So I have paid over $400 for a company that does not know anything about my refrigerator. Getting through to a human being is near impossible. They use AI which is useless when you have a special circumstance. Now both companies are telling me I have to contact the other to solve the issue. I am hoping someone eventually will take responsibility and repair the issue. I do not recommend Assurant for any type of protection policy!

    The technician contracted through GE Factory Service failed to competently reassemble our washer tub during the service visit on April 17, 2025. As a direct result of this substandard workmanship, we have sustained significant water damage to our luxury vinyl plank flooring, baseboards, and carpet. We have also incurred costs related to emergency drying services to mitigate mold risk. In addition, we now face further expenses to assess potential mold contamination and to replace the warped baseboards and damaged carpet.

    Compounding the issue, the GE Appliances Store does not carry a compatible washer model for our current stacking configuration. This forces us to prematurely replace both the washer and dryer, despite the dryer still being functional. We will also bear the costs of delivery, installation, and removal of the damaged unit caused by the technician.

    Given the above, the amount of money that was offered fell well short of covering the following costs:
    Purchase of a new stacking washer/dryer set
    Delivery and installation of the new unit
    Removal and disposal of the damaged unit
    Mold assessment and remediation

    Replacement of damaged flooring and baseboards

Instead, they give you Joe Smoes appliance repair service (this has happened multiple times for various past claims).     This was a horrible experience. It took me 4 phone calls, one with a supervisor, to be told 4 different stories on why my bill wasn't being covered, even though the part was being replaced as a warranty covered item. I'm left in the middle between the dealership and Assurant, and this whole situation has been time-consuming, frustrating, and I feel like I'm stuck between two people bad mouthing the other. Completely unprofessional.

    On March 24, 2025 I submitted a claim for my washing machine. The technician came out promptly, diagnosed the problem (transmission) and submitted the information to Assurant. Days passed and the decision process of two different 2-3 business days stretched over two weekends while the warranty company decided what to do and when. It has been two days short of one month since my initial contact and I still do not have a replacement washing machine. A gift card for a replacement washer was issued fairly promptly and was easy to use. The time expended to make something happen for me, or anyone, was too long. One month without a vital piece of household equipment is not okay.

    I have nothing good to say about the Assurant Service Protection Plan. I've had it for over a year.... Had my repair on relatively new washer set up for over 2 months only to be rescheduled 3 times. It would seem they could nudge the local repair contractors. This washer was purchased brand new from Home Depot.... FYI.... the whole internal workings has been replaced once already and will be replaced again, that is if the repair guy actually shows up! FYI this is a GE Washer.

    Assurant declined to repair ice maker, waited a week for a replacement/repair or at least a call to discuss what's next - absolutely no customer service, phone number is not even on the Extended warranty. Email a week later issued a "gift" card to replace ice maker only via GE website with inflated prices and the ice maker is not available. Adjusted depreciated value is based upon order date not 6 month later delivery date, which I provided to Assurant with original warranty for $1263. $2500 on a $3800 ice maker doesn't help when it's not available via only store "gift" card can be used at. We would not purchase another warranty from Assurant based upon lack of customer service, ineffective communications with customers and forced replacement with their own overpriced online store when using one of their "gift" cards...

    3 weeks ago my Frigidaire Professional refrigerator stopped working, I immediately call Assurant, then send a repairman who never even attempts to repair the unit, he says it looks fine and suggest we get our own thermometer. I call them back 2 weeks ago to tell them it is still not holding temp and now it's over heating. Same guy comes out was here for 10 mins telling us he can't find the serial number (clearly stamped in serval places on the machines). Now they are saying it cannot be fixed and have sent me a GE gift card. This is a Frigidaire product, that is installed to connect to the match freezer unit. This gift card is useless to me, as the products need to match (they are meant to be installed to appear as one unit).

    GE 1) does not offer anything like this. 2) I did not buy a GE. I bought a Frigidaire Professional unit and will need to replace both if I cannot get the same brand. You call and get nowhere, you e-mail and everything says they will resend within 30 days. I have already been without a fridge for just shy of a month, and have wasted so much food. THIS WARRANTY IS WORTHLESS.

    Repairman is very knowledgeable, and takes care of repairs, etc. in a timely manner. Great to have a warranty company that provides service from the area, and a reputable repair person. The only time we had a problem with Assurant was when we received a defective filter from them. The fault of GE not us. We had to pay the $50.00 deductible for the repairman, but we had to order another filter, at our own expense and they refused to reimburse us. Assurant said it was GE's fault and GE, said Assurant should reimburse. We pay $200 + a year for the warranty and approximately $130.00 a year for 3 filters. The repairman has been reliable, knowledgeable and good to work with. No complaints at all with scheduling service or the time it takes. We are comfortable with the warranty service provided by Assurant.

    Terrible Customer Service – Contract Canceled Without Notice! I am extremely disappointed with Assurant's service protection. They canceled my contract without any notification, leaving me completely unprotected when I needed coverage the most. There was no email, call, or letter informing me about the cancellation, which is completely unacceptable for a company that claims to offer "reliable protection."

    To make matters worse, their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive when I reached out for an explanation. Instead of providing solutions, I was met with vague responses and zero accountability. If you're considering Assurant for protection, think twice. A service contract is worthless if the company can cancel it at any time without warning.     I was contacted by Assurant Service Protection Advantage, and they promptly resolved my claim issue. Apparently, my claim was "stuck" somewhere in their system and it was not being worked. After Assurant contacted me, they explained the problem and promised to call me back the next day. True to their word I received a call back, Assurant offered a fair and equitable claim settlement. I accepted their offer and my claim was closed. Although there were issues with the claim process Assurant followed up and resolved the issue. You cannot ask for more that... So, I would purchase another service contract from them in the future.

    Y'all suck. 3 months is so wrong. Repairman took 2 hours to mess my washer up. He even stole a good flashlight that he had to get off shelf. Same repairman that I asked not to come back took less than 20 minutes to fix. When washer spins it shakes a lot. Couldn't get Assurant or the repait company acs to call me.     My dryer stopped working and I filed a claim. Scheduled my service call and the technician came and diagnosed the problem. Filed his report immediately. That was a week ago. Was told that Assurant was going to offer a buyout in 2-3 business days. It’s been a week.. I check daily and each time given the same impersonal response "2-3 business days check your email and junk folder". You CANNOT speak on the phone with a human being. Don’t waste your money on this supposed warranty.

    Returned a Generator which was not starting. I upgraded to an electric start and paid the difference between the 2 models. I drained the fluids from the faulty generator and took it back to the store. While there I asked if I could pay the difference between the original and the similar model with electric start because at age 80 it is harder to use a pull start and we agreed on the difference and exchanged the generator.

    From reporting the claim to technician arrival took 6 days. In this case, the microwave was still functional. However, had the microwave been inoperative, it would have been unsatisfactory, considering that the tech had to check the unit and order the part, which added 9 more days to the repair. In addition, a 5-hour window for tech to arrive is long, A 2- or 3-hour window would be an improvement..

    You will get the run-around with zero sense of urgency after multiple phone calls and service visits.     Derrick called the morning after the review was posted. He apologized for the confusion and offered to cancel the two eDisbursement Cards and mail a check for the total amount. That was just want I needed to hear. In a follow-up call I was told the check had been mailed that same afternoon and should arrive next week. Really good response to my complaint from Assurant.

    We have an over $4,000 induction range that can not be cooked on. It failed in mid January; it was two years old this weekend! An appointment for a service call was quickly scheduled for only a few days after it failed. That was great. The serviceman said it would probably take a few days to get the authorization to order the parts.

    After a week with no word, I made several calls to "Customer Service". The woman in Bangladesh or some where off-shore was of no help. "Willard" and "Charles" were very helpful in explaining the delay. After more than two weeks, we received an e-mail from "Jenn" a "Client Support Specialist" in "In-Home Solutions" (with no last name, phone number or e-mail address). She stated that eDisbursement Cards, for $4,299.00 were being e-mailed to us. The funds arrived as two open, non-encrypted, unsecured e-mails. In addition, both of them had already been activated and showed the cards account and security numbers. Anyone could have intercepted them and used them! Just how stupid is that? We have advised Assurant to cancel the cards and to send a check to us soon as soon as possible since it looks like we will have to wait several more weeks for a replacement.

    I was contacted by the Executive Offices of Assurant and was assigned Sonya to resolve my issues with the repair of my washing machine. She did a wonderful job setting up an appointment with a qualified repair specialist. The repair person showed up on time, ordered the correct replacement part and did a quick temporary fix so I could use the washer temporarily until the new part arrived. They had the part shipped to me, and the repairment installed the part within a few days of receiving the new part at my home.     I was solicited by Assurant to purchase a 1 yr extended warranty as my original warranty was going to expire in 11/24....I purchased the extended warranty. Then, unfortunately, on 1/18, my GE washer that was part of a stackable set, stopped working. I signed up for an appointment for a technician to come to my house the following Monday, 1/20/25...the inconvenient issue is that the appointment was anytime from 8am to 5pm, so I had to stay home the entire day. About mid day I got a text from their "virtual assistant" saying that "due to unforeseen circumstances they would not be able to send a technician that day to service my appliance.... They said they were sorry and rescheduled for 1/23/25 (also from 8am to 5pm). On the 23rd the technician showed up about 3:30 and worked on my washer and said he fixed it.. And then he left.

    I was able too wash one load of clothes and then the washer had the same problem again and would not turn on... I called and had to set up a new appointment to have the washer fixed again. That appointment was for today (between 8am and 5pm)....about middle of the day I got another text from the virtual assistant that "due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be able to have a technician available to service your appliance"... and they have rescheduled me for 1/29/25...I have wasted several days waiting from 8 to 5 for someone to show up and fix my appliance...I have reserved 3 full days for the technician and I still do not have a working washer. I hope they eventually come to my house and repair my GE washer but so far I have not been at all pleased.

    Tech said this upright freezer was not repairable and said they would have to buy it out. I received a virtual gift card that major vendors such as cowboy Maloney don’t accept at all and Home Depot won’t order something that isn’t in stock..     This company sends out bottom-of-the-barrel repair companies who do not follow up and must not be paid well because they could care less about finishing the job. 24/7 appliance repair in Defuniak Springs FL just lied and said a circuit board was on back order for 2 months. Finally, when I asked for the part number, I caught him in his bold face lie. Part was readily available. This guy then proceeded to leave my company a negative review because I reviewed his company. I have never done business with him through my company but because I left him a bad review he retaliated. Beyond scummy and unethical. Do not ever buy a warranty from assuring they do not provide any real service. They just sub out crappy repair companies. Waste of money!

    I purchased the Assurant warranty for refrigerator in 2021. I have received some reimbursement for filters through their online service. Tough to do but doable. I completed a phone repair claim 1/10/25. That was even more difficult because of their agent language difficulty. A company almost 2 hrs away was assigned to me. This company tech came out and seemed annoyed by questions I asked and had little respect for my property. He became angry when I asked if another tech could come out to finish the repair when part came in. He ended up slamming my door on the way out. He almost hit me but did I level my door.

    He gave a different version of this visit and in the end his boss filed a hostile environment claim. Insurance claims department informed me without talking to me about this situation that I would now find my own repair company and pay out of pocket. I could file for reimbursement with probable delays. Assurant part of this problem because they will continue to use a somewhat dangerous company as this is the only repair company in my region and this company filed a malicious and fraudulent claim. Don’t trust unprofessional insurance and scary repair company.

    The authorized tech sent to fix my GE Range was not very skilled on this model and thus left my Range not in 100% working order. He informed me that he needed to order a part for the area he broke. A week later I called for status only to be told there was no part ordered and that they had no record of the call for repair.     Extended warranties are not worth the paper they are written on with Assurant. We have an extended warranty that goes to Dec 2025, we submitted a claim on our stove that had the element go out on it. They have been reviewing the claim for over three week according to what is posted when I log into my claim status. They requested a copy of purchase receipt and estimate from repairman. Provided both those.

    After posting negative review, they said they are so sorry about my experience and requested the estimate again and a photo of the stove. Provided both same day. It's been another 2 weeks and no communication. Anyone with a 6th grade education could have reviewed it by now. Assurant is just like a home warranty company, not work a dime. Save your money and never buy extended warranties with Assurant as the company providing the coverage.

    Fridge broken for 6+ months. 8 technician visits to figure it out. Each time we wait 2-4 weeks for parts then tech comes out either diagnoses it different or installs incorrectly. Dishwasher has been broken for 3 months. Same thing, wrong part ordered, or in one case not ordered. Different tech, different diagnosis. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME on this warranty. I was even charged extra for a tech to reinstall something the prior tech installed backwards.

    This company should not exist. Every interaction with their bot service is painful and it's impossible to get through it to actually have your problem handled. They scheduled a technician to fix our washing machine, but the tech fell through. I get it. Things happen. But so far they have been impossible to deal with to rectify the situation, meanwhile the washing machine remains broken. We paid for a warranty, we expect it to be honored. The customer experience is awful and we've simply been ignored. Called 11/12. Technician sent 11/15 and stated he needed to order new parts and estimated 2 weeks. It's now been 5 weeks and we haven't heard from the company since then. We've tried to reach both the tech and Assurant and can't get any traction. The chat bot is infuriating and unhelpful and at no point could we get access to an actual person.

    Assurant is great to have, until you need to reach an actual person or have a complaint. After a repairman failed to show to fix my washer, Assurant kept telling me they couldn't reschedule and I would have to reach the service provider. The service provider told me it was Assurant. 2 hours of phone calls later I got some reassurance that my service call would be scheduled. And I still haven't heard back. This is after it has taken 2 weeks to get someone to look at the washer. Don't buy your appliances from a huge box store and then think your warranty will matter to any real people!

    Updated on 11/22/2024: Now my icemaker is acting up and I need it fixed. I've tried contacting Assurant at least 10 times over the last month with no response from them. I finally received an email on 11/15 from Derek ** of Assurants Executive Office (yeah right) asking me to reach out to him on his direct line which I did on November 17th. He called me the evening of the 18th. I picked up the phone said hello several times and was then disconnected. To my surprise I received an email from Mr. ** stating that he called but "couldn't get through". Mind you he didn't leave a voice mail or anything, just an email. Additionally he hasn't responded to my phone calls and emails on the 11/18, 11/19 or 11/21. This product is a complete ripoff!

    Updated on 11/14/2024: It's been a week since I wrote you regarding my paid for protection plan. Although Assurant is the contract servicer, you indicate you sent it Conn's for a response and to date I have received no other responses from either Assurant or Conn's. Nor did you answer my question regarding whether you are going to honor the PAID FOR service contract or refund the pro rated amount back to me. Your service contract is an absolute rip off!

    Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator in January 2023. It has a 4 year service/repair agreement which expires January 15, 2027. The icemaker is malfunctioning and it's almost impossible to make an appt to have a service tech come out to take a look. If you want to schedule you have to go to the customer portal only no phone call, online only. When I enter my name and phone number they say they have no record of my contract even though they have been to my house before. I tried to initiate a chat session but the chat feature does not work, and I keep getting redirected to the main number with no option to speak with a human being. Very, Very frustrating to deal with

    When I bought a product in June of 2024, I always buy the extended warranty to ensure the "just in case" scenario is covered. The product I purchased happened to be defective and was returned to the store within the 90-day period. We got the exact same product that we returned, only to find out that the extended warranty was only good for product we returned, NOT for the same product we were getting?! We were told that "this is how this company handles things, and each product has to have its own warranty plan", which I could understand IF I got a different product! It was the same product.

    The warranty for 1 year should have stood; however, we were "required" to purchase a new plan for this same product. Far be it from me, but this sort of business tactic seems more like a scam than good business. I'm less than happy with Assurant and their services, as I feel like all they truly care about is money, money, money in a downed economy. Thumbs down on this and do not reccomend.

Says the technician told them that I did not want him to come out, that is false statement, I want him to come out, so the police can question him regarding his business information and insurance.     Communication with 3d party on-site service provider (A&E Factory Service LLC) was particularly poor resulting in “no show” and cancelled appointments, extending time to complete service to 6 weeks. Despite claims by customer service representatives that we would receive confirming emails and texts, none were received to advise us of schedule changes or causes. This resulted in our waiting hours for a service technician who had been rescheduled. Once service technicians were on-site, repairs were accomplished quickly and efficiently. The only explanation offered was that the company had been involved in a “system conversion” that began in April 2024.

    Pump failed while in use and although I had purchased the extended warranty, a replacement is over a week away. This process has caused issues for me and is not acceptable. Had I been able to just return it to the store for a replacement, things would have been much easier.
