This warranty company is the worst company I have ever worked with in my 60 years of existence. They delayed me for replacement of my range for over three months over the holidays despite me calling weekly. Continual lying, false promises, rescheduling, delaying, stalling to the point I gave up and bought us a range and cancelled the plan. DO NOT purchase this plan. I only wish I would have researched it first before signing up. Working with them has been utter hell.

I’m under Sears Home Warranty for yrs. This is the first time a 6yr old stove needed repair from sears. Now I find a sears does not utilize technicians that can complete the work. The repair man are so inept that they shotgun repairs!!! Meaning they don’t diagnose, they order and replace parts until they find out which one works.??? From Jan 3 to Feb 4 I had 4 appt with 2 techs. Each looked at the stove and ordered parts. I had parts replaced and returned 4 times. The worst was Eric K. He returned parts ordered by H without trying seemingly because he doesn’t like H. AND ERIC still didn’t fix the stove!!! Instead ERIC coded the job as complete —saying I didn’t want the repair!! Sears won’t answer HOW many times a technician will come and NOT fix the stove Today will be my FIFTH tech visit. And I am more than a month without the stove!

I called Sears Home Services Monday, February 3, 2025. Made an appointment for February 4, 2025, and was told I would get text updates and I would get a phone call from the technician the morning of service to discuss the problem I was having. This was followed by email telling me the expected arrival time and the technician would be calling. I was expecting this to be a productive appointment based on what I was told verbally and in writing.

I kept my phone at hand this Tuesday morning and next thing I see is a van sitting in front of my house. No texts, no phone call. The tech came in and determined he could not work on the dryer in its present location. My options were to set it out so he could work on it or he could bring a helper that I would have to pay for. (I’m a retired electrician and have worked on the dryer where it is. Now I’m disabled, hence the reason for the appointment.) I suggested the tech leave and do not send a bill. I do not recommend Sears Home Services.

After the initial appointment the Technician ordered the necessary parts. Parts & labor were paid at that time. Second appointment scheduled after receiving a parts delivery. Tech arrived & stated all parts were not delivered. No mention to reschedule within 30 days. Additional parts still have not arrived, but I’m told I have to schedule & pay for another appointment because it’s beyond 30 days. Compounding the problem is that I cannot make contact with Customer Service to submit a complaint!

Many of the people answering the phones have accents that are very hard to understand, the phones connections are noisy and they sound like they are working from home. Most have very limited ability to do anything other than check a database. I have never receive a promised response. If you want to know or do anything you need to constantly be calling them. I have their hold music memorized. Everything Sears does takes longer than the DMV.

My story - Double wall oven on a Sears Home Warranty. 15 months and still no oven.

    2023
Oct - Upper oven will not heat. Report problem.
Nov 13: Finally get tech visit. Orders heating element.

Nov 28: Tech visit. Can't troubleshoot because requires two techs and only one showed.

    2024
Jan 18, Feb 2, Feb 26, Mar 12: Two techs show up and parts don't fix it. Order control board. Wait for replacement but not available. Techs return and remove control panel, send it off to get repaired. Control panel eventually comes back, schedule techs to install and when they do nothing works.
March - Submit request for replacement oven. Long wait. Eventually approved but not full replacement cost. Order must go through Sears.com but only two choices of correct size, one in black and one in stainless steel. All of our kitchen appliances are black so only one choice. Order black oven.
October - After many phone calls having been told manufacturer has not been able to deliver the unit, told Sears is having technical problems and we need to reorder a different unit. During all this time Sears.com com has been advertising the unit we originally ordered. Eventually, get approval and order the more expensive stainless steel unit.
Dec - Multiple calls and same problems getting the stainless unit. Are again told to reorder. With only the same two choices available, one in black and one in stainless. Decide to give the black unit another try since the stainless is not happening.

Dec 19 - Black unit shows up at our house. All previous efforts the unit was going to a warehouse and the techs would bring it when they plan to install it. We now have a unit and are not letting it out of our sight.

October - Tried to cancel warranty after a year of this nonsense and told couldn't because I had open ticket. Need to keep paying monthly fee if I ever want to see an oven even though I have an open, approved replacement order. Switched credit card on file to one I don't use anymore and then cancelled the card. Lots of reminders to keep paying but replacement order still effective.

    2025
Jan 14 - Third scheduled visit the techs manage to show up. They unbox new unit and find it was damaged, likely in shipping. Report problem and over two weeks later we are still awaiting approval for an exchange order. System is unable to handle exchange orders and they have to manually process it. I'm told it will take 2 weeks. Now over 2 weeks and they started a new exchange order. Told it will take 2 more weeks.

Jan 27th comes - Tech no show, I reschedule for the next earliest appointment Jan 30th. Jan 30th You guessed it. No show. We had a furnace put in Dec. 2017. We have a warranty for 10 years on parts or lifetime on heat exchanger. Sears will not honor it saying it expired in 2022. But my papers have no date. It was issued as part of furnace price. We tried faxing them and we tried sending pictures to e-mail. None of these sites work. Called and they kept giving me other numbers. I had them come in 2 times. Then he said to get someone local because he lived 1 hour away. We did and this guy fixed it. It was a gas valve. It costs us $500 and I think Sears should cover some of this or at least send us another gas valve.

Updated on 03/19/2025: Short story: it took 3 months to replace a defective washer that could not be repaired AND we were unable to replace it with a similar washer. Customer service was awful, several agents gave us incorrect information, and Sears' inventory for warranty replacement is poor. Longer story. Recently, our washer failed. Sears service came out, saw the washer, diagnosed the problem, and ordered the repair part. Part never came and is not available. It took me over a month to convince Sears to recognize that no part was available.

Then it took another two months to find that replacement appliances were not generally available from Sears. The Sears website features a number of items that are out of stock - no idea when they'll be in - and items sold by Sears 'partners,' which aren't available as warranty replacements. Three months in, we still do not have a replacement washer. And we have a similar story with a refrigerator ice-maker. Took months to fix. We're going elsewhere. Sears no longer lives up to its name.

Original: Sears has lost its edge and no longer backs up its agreements. Technicians vary in quality from pretty good to total waste of time. They resist replacing unrepairable appliances as their agreements promise. I’m now two months of calling to get a washer replaced they could not repair under the agreement. Every call gets a runaround, asks me to wait another 3-5 days. I was a happy customer for years and am now looking to drop them, and can no longer recommend Sears Home Services to anyone.

Did not contact Sears but another company who turned out to be Sears. Had problem replacing a Samsung refrigerator filter. Tech came out. I had forgotten to remove the cap on the filter so it wouldn't seat properly. Operator error. He fixed it, took him less than 10 minutes. Charged $350 which I thought was exorbitant for what was a minor fix without need for parts and less than 15 minutes labor. Tech said Sears has set price for service calls so it's not based on actual service performed but some algorithm Sears has come up with. I wouldn't have Sears out again for any of my appliance repairs and wouldn't recommend them for this reason.

We purchased a GE Dishwasher from HD on November 8, 2024. It was installed and used a total of 3 times before it would no longer clean anything. Contacted HD and they told me to call the Warranty number, ended up with A&E Appliance repair which is now Sears Home Services. The earliest date I could get was 12/5/24 which was earlier than a 12/26 appointment.

The repairman came was polite and determined that a new pump motor is needed. Parts were ordered and received several messages for repair dates after a notice parts had arrived. I got a new date of 12/26. Waited all day called Sears and actually talked to someone, the parts arrived but were not with the correct repair man. New date 1/23/25, today received a message, at 11:30, that needed to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. New date of 1/30/25. We'll see if that works. The communications is horrible and if you call you get someone you can't understand or on hold for long periods. Would not recommend Sears to anyone. Was also told by HD that a local contractor would be able to do the repairs, but GE dictated Sears for warranty work. Last GE appliance and last appliance from HD.

Not only will I not give up but I will pursue with the California Attorney General and will ask how a class action suit can be started as I said I am sure the form letter was sent to many. Repairs have been wonderful. Repairmen knowledgeable and friendly texting us their ETA. No complaints on repair services. We live 50 miles from San Antonio so I was pleasantly surprised that service wasn't an issue. The problem comes when parts are discontinued and they say they will replace the appliance.

11/28/2024 - Tech came out and determined washer drum wouldn't budge. The tech searched for part before he left. He couldn't find it. He left saying they would search.
11/29/24 - Part found & ordered. I heard nothing more. Appointment set up for 12/16.
12/9 - I called to confirm part ordered since there was not the usual shipping info sent to me. Yes, ETA for part 12/13 with appt set up for 12/16.
12/12 - I called again because I had no confirmation of shipped part (parts had always came to house so I previously had always had shipping info.) Part discontinued... Case # sent to Replacement team. I will receive an email in 5 business days.
12/19 - I called because I had received no email with any info regarding case or replacement. She re-escalated. I would receive email within 5 business days or was to call back next Friday (12/27 because of holidays) at end of the day.
12/30 - Monday I called. My thinking was if I called at end of day Friday it might get lost over the weekend. So I waited til first thing on 30th. Re-escalated again...
    1. By 1/2 I will receive an email with selected replacement. 2. I will authorize. 3. They will send coupon code. 4. I will then go online and use coupon code to order the selected washer.
1/3/2025 - I called because I had heard nothing. I was transferred to the Replacement team. Re-escalated. I could not talk to anyone higher or a manager or anyone else. I was told if I don't hear anything by 1/9 to call again. "Sometimes it takes more than one re-escalation."
1/5/2025 - I called again because I was getting emails (2) asking me to confirm or cancel appt. There was no part so why was there an appt? Mabel explained that she will reschedule because she cannot close the case because it was being worked on. I explained again that there was no part so why make an appt for the 10th? Yes, she could see there was no part and rescheduled anyway.

Today is 1/8/25. I have heard nothing. Due to call again 1/9/25.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. On 10/24/24 I had problems with my washing machine. A few days later I made an online appointment for repair. The day of the appt. the technician called to confirm & when he found out it was a stacked unit he cancelled the appt. since he said he needed a helper. I had to reschedule an appointment which took 3 weeks. When he did show up he had to order parts & set up another appointment for 12/12/24. The parts came in but the technician never showed up for the appointment.

After many, many attempts to speak to someone I find out they no longer have a technician to fix my washer. Every phone number I would attempt to call on their website, appeared to be not in service. This entire experience has been less than pleasant. Today, 1/3/25, when I attempt to cancel my warranty, I find out that I will have to pay $173 in cancellation fees, or continue to be billed my monthly rate until 4/23/25 because I am on a one year contract!

I have a Sears home warranty and I'm going on my 6 years with them. I'm happy with them, maybe not perfect but I've had other home warranty services that wasn't happy about but Sears home warranty offers 180 warranty and back it up. I have another home warranty company that was only 30 days which you want something that's going be back up on their services. Sears home warranty services is the biggest in America, they have all the major cities etc when many are limited but it varies what companies offer in areas vs other areas that can't provide service. Some people have 2 home warranties because they know that home care cost are expensive so they want guaranteed service. I'm was thinking of having 2 at the same time too but right now I'll keep Seas as my main warranty company.

What like about Sears is, it's a old company and being a store customer I also depended Sears with almost everything in my house on appliances etc but when I called them when the needed them they come out. One time I needed a lot of electrical work done and it took a couple weeks to get an electrician out here but when they did come, boy they came in a huge electrical truck, 2 electricians and spent the whole day fixing everything, I was completely satisfied but more so I really got my money's worth. Anytime one of my appliances goes, I have them here the next day, it's effective for me.

Anyway I am a actual customer, I've never worked for Sears but I know people have complained about them but actually everybody came complains on all home warranty companies, none of them are perfect so that said Sears is available in my area so I'm going to stay with them. The pictures provided are Sears appliance people fixing my microwave last week and too, this microwave was a Sears replacement too, when I needed a new microwave, Sears said, "Here you go." But remember I have 180 days after service warranty, you can't go wrong with that. Thank you Sears home warranty services.

I want to preface this complaint with the fact that I used Sears Home Services years ago, and got a diagnosis on the first trip, even though the diagnosis was that it was not worth fixing my 2 year old washing machine. Since the beginning of December 2024, I have been trying to an issue with my refrigerator diagnosed by Sears Home Services. The issue: excessive frost on the refrigerator evaporator coil. The first time the technician came out, I paid the $129 diagnostic fee to find out what the issue was. The technician said he was not able to determine the problem, and left.

A few weeks later, I realized that was an unacceptable answer, and I called Sears Home Services back out and explained the situation. I even spoke to one of their virtual technicians, who seemed very knowledgeable, and helpful, and said the onsite technician should absolutely be able to diagnose the issue. For example: On the first visit, I asked the technician if he could determine if any power was going to the defrost coil. He said he could not, despite the virtual tech. Saying they can do that.

I then scheduled a follow up visit (free of charge) and asked to NOT send the same tech. as the first time. They did! This time, I told him to use his multi-meter to test for power, and he did find power to the heater coil, but then it would stop. He then said it could be the main control board, but wasn't sure. So, he texted another tech. who was supposedly an expert with GE. It was Christmas Eve, so the tech didn't respond, but the one at my home said he would get back to me with his answer. He of course never did. I should mention that prior to the second visit, there was a "no show" day where I waited the entire day and the tech. didn't show up, nor did he provide any text/email/phone updates! Given that I still didn't have an answer after two visits, I again called Sears to schedule another appointment for 12/26/24. I pleaded to not send the same tech., but that's who they scheduled.

I waited the entire day and no tech. showed again, with no email/text/phone updates. At this point, I requested a refund of my $129 diagnostic fee, and the operator said she would put the request in. I asked to speak to a manager, and she said that was not possible. So, at this point, I still have a broken refrigerator, and I'm out $129. Sears Home Services should be ashamed of this very unprofessional service, not to mention being extremely inconsiderate of the customer's time and the stress it puts them through.

Sears Home Services serving Elizabeth City, NC: The scope of the original diagnosis changed from one part needed to two parts needed, thus affecting the total cost of initial repairs. The parts ordered arrived broken. The next scheduled repair date was cancelled then rescheduled for nearly two weeks later. I had to change that to three days sooner because we had already made plans to be away for the holidays. The follow-up service required the replacement of a third part that, if initially checked, may have been the root cause of the problem. Therefore I do not trust the original diagnosis for which I had already paid in full. Overall, going through Sears Home Maintenance was a mistake and was unsatisfactory.

I had never had any bad experiences with Sears warranty neither in Miami or in San Juan, PR but in Northern Fl, it's a different story. We purchased a washer in 2019 at Sears Brand Central. This washer has been receiving warranty service since the beginning. In 2023 we waited for service for three months, the first over they did not call when they were coming over, the tech did not, he left. Requested service again and had to go to a laundromat and wash. Finally, when the service person came and fixed the washer, we donated it to Salvation Army and bought a Speedqueen washer.

We have tried to cancel the remaining service agreement since it expires on 5/2025 and it's so difficult. When calling the email address cannot be understood. We stay on line and the recording all attendants are busy... After waiting 25 minutes, Daniel answers the call. I told him, Don't care about the money. I don't want Sears to be calling to renew so remove my phone and my address. Northern FL service is really bad.

Moved into new house with new Frigidaire 'fridge August 1, 2024. Four months later woke to total loss of food in fridge and freezer. Called Lowes, transferred to Frigidaire, to Sears Home Services and ... TWO weeks to service. Thankful, was bumped up to next day as insulin dependent. Very informative, respectful serviceman, Wyman indicated repair requires 3 parts (which came VERY quick) shipped to my home BUT repair service not available until Dec. 26 ...two weeks out. Was told to call 800 number when parts arrive and can maybe bump service up sooner.

Welllll, TRY to get hold of Sears Home Services after an initial call.... IMPOSSIBLE!! Called about five different numbers I found and all have ONLY 'virtual assistant', absolutely NO way to get a "live" agent. Called Lowe's again to Frigidaire and was on hold over 30 minutes (after an estimate of seven minutes)... I give up. Will wait for the Dec. 26 service and NEVER buy another appliance from Lowe's and NEVER a Frigidaire. Thank goodness kind neighbors are storing my insulin in their 'fridge.

I purchased an extended warranty for my LG dishwasher from Conn's. It has been a good machine, but the pump would keep running, and I had to shut it off at the circuit breaker to stop it from running. I contacted Sear Home Services. They rescheduled me three times before they showed up to diagnose, two weeks after my first call. The technician diagnosed it, ordered a bunch of parts and got them approved over the phone before he left. He also scheduled the appointment to install them. I received the parts a few days later. Now They have missed two appointments to install them.

I have been without a dishwasher for six weeks. If you contact Sears customer service line, you deal with a AI robot. If you can get the number to talk to a human being, you will get a call center based outside of the US. The folks there are nice enough, but they have heavily accented English, and are not familiar with common American idioms. I found they were not familiar with our cities, where they are placed, and how to pronounce them. Also, they have no power to do anything but to listen to you complain. As I write this my dishwasher hasn't been repaired.

I have been a Sears home warranty customer for a while now. All in all it has been a frustrating experience. The main reason is there is no way to give them feedback or address an issue. The only way you can do it to call their number which goes to a call center I hear even they do not have ability to call and resolve the issue, They can only send a message

Three times in last 4 months this has happened to me. 1. Tech came before the appointment and rang the bell for 1 minute before I could open the door he left stating I was not available. No telephone call or text message. But he says he left a VM. I did not get any.. No way to call him back either because no number was left. 2. They have come in few times and said I am not the technician and gone away. Most of the technicians are employees so all they have to do a checkmark they have come knocked at the door. No way to give reviews about their work or customer service.

    3. Tech are supposed to get signatures from the customers, instead they sign as you and just send you the form as if you have signed. (Can this be considered forgery). Absolutely no checks and balances. They are surviving on the fact that many people pay the dues and do not use their services. If they do call Deny, delay and dispose is their motto. Be careful. They also make it harder for you to cancel the service

We have had this warranty on our washer and dryer for several years. In the last two years the services have gone completely downhill. We rely on the units to handle the laundry needs necessary with taking care of my wife's mother. The last two times we have needed service (dryer once and this time washer) has been horrible. My wife called in requesting the service, told them it would not drain, tech called on Tuesday (never came to look at washer) and said it was the pump. It was ordered Wednesday and sent here for a Saturday appointment. We received the part on Friday and apparently this "service" company is not aware of how to use package tracking so they sent an email at 1630 the day before (Friday) wanting to know if the part was here which my wife responded to with yes it was here.

Next thing we hear from them is a reschedule for the appointment (sent at 0430 Saturday morning) moving to Wednesday (day before Thanksgiving), would be here between 0800-1700. No one showed and the appointment was cancelled. We made another appointment to have someone come out for today (Friday) between 0800-1200. We received texts each time extending the tech's arrival and then at 1400 it was cancelled. We will NEVER AGAIN deal with Sears or the unprofessional, discourteous way this rip-off service deals with their customers. They don't even have the courtesy of having a live representative to talk with, instead using an automated response that is there primarily to try and sell you more services instead of taking care of the ones they are already supposed to provide.

I recently booked Sears Home Services’ “Clean & Maintain” package for three kitchen and two laundry appliances. At $295 ($249.99 + tax), it seemed like a good deal—until the technician showed up. Cleaning? What Cleaning? Armed with just a vacuum and no proper cleaning supplies, the technician’s work was superficial at best. The washing machine’s soap dispenser? Untouched. No cleaning cycle run. Instead, I was told to “run vinegar through it myself.” Why did I even bother hiring them?

Negligence Across the Board: The oven range? Not cleaned. A self-cleaning cycle could’ve done the same (for free). The ice dispenser? Don’t even ask. The service felt lazy and incomplete, with zero attention to detail. No Accountability, No Transparency: To make matters worse, there was no written report detailing what was done, the current condition of my appliances, or any suggested repairs. Who knows what (if anything) they actually did? False Promises, No Support: The “30-day warranty” is a joke. Contact details? Nonexistent. Their chatbot provides no real support, and reaching an actual person is impossible. And oh, they don’t accept AMEX. Lame. Verdict: Sears Home Services is like that once-charming ex who now leaves you regretting every encounter. Skip the stress and hire a reputable cleaning or maintenance service instead. Rating: 0/10

We received a 9 hour window when service would come (taking off work to wait for service people who created more problems than they solved) Cleaned the drain OK but never looked at the ice maker/reviewed with a scheduling agent and it was on the order per my request but not addressed. They left but not before leaving mud on the carpet and sand all over the floor.

I do not know where these people were before coming here but they were inconsiderate and certainly not competent to be in this field of expertise if they do not address what is on a service order. The automated AI scheduled the first appointment in mid-October. The appointment has been missed and rescheduled 4 times by the company and after over a month no service repairman has yet to keep the appointment.

We're forced to deal with the web-site and AI web bot to schedule and reschedule the appointment. It is almost impossible to get a person on the phone to discuss the missed appoint and need to get it rescheduled soon and when they do, it's all empty promises. I can't recall the number of times, we've been promised a service technician will be here, only to have a no show, As I say, it may be a scam where you pay a monthly fee, but never receive any service from the company.

To replace a garbage disposal was only approved at $280 when it cost $500 for a cheap unit and installation. They only covered 50%, so I was out $320.

I would not recommend using Sears Home Services. I requested service for a washing machine I bought from Sears some years ago. The person who came to do the diagnosis said I need a new drain pump, and right there, he placed the order for it. He told me it would be delivered to me, how long it should take, and he made me an appointment for the repair. I then paid $525.58 in advance for the part, and the labor. This is where my nightmare begins...

The part reached USPS in the city in which I live...and USPS immediately returned it to the sender because my address, which I had given correctly (as seen by the fact that the person who diagnosed the problem was able to find my home), was typed incorrectly on the shipping label. I called Sears Home Services to request that the label be fixed, but when I called, they had no record of my work order number. They had no record of the phone number I had provided when I placed the initial service request. And they had no record of the email address I provided when I placed the initial service request.

As a result, I had to repeatedly call back to select incorrect options just to speak to a human, and when I got a human, they somehow had as my contact phone number an old number that I have not had in over a decade, and an email address which I no longer had access to, and did not even provide when I requested service. They did reorder the part, and they did say that they fixed the address label, and they even said they corrected my email address and phone number in their records.

When the part they ordered the second time arrived at USPS in the city in which I live, once again, USPS immediately returned it to the sender due to insufficient address on the label. I called Sears Home Services again, and took nearly twenty minutes to speak to someone, because they STILL had no record of my work request number, my phone number, or my email address.

I had to give the serial number of my washing machine before they found my work order in their system. and guess what? IT WAS THE SAME NUMBER I HAD GIVEN THEM, WHICH THEY COULD NOT FIND!!! They could, however, inform me that they had recordings of all the complaints I left when I called and was upset because they could not find my work order...

I finally requested a refund, and was transferred to someone who tried to convince me not to cancel my appointment. I had to call back again to request a refund, and managed to reach someone in the billing department. Since I had given them a check, they promised to mail me a check for the full amount I had paid.

That was at the end of September 2024. Here it is, November 13, 2024, and I have not yet received my refund, and my washing machine is still in need of repair. I am a retiree and cannot afford to lose $525.58, and I need that money refunded so that I can use it with someone reputable to get my washing machine fixed. I am totally disgusted, and will never use Sears Home Services for anything. I would not recommend that anyone use Sears Home Services for anything.

So all of a sudden this operator (which I could barely understand) starts t talking about the cost. I was on the phone for nearly 15 minutes and had no idea what I was getting. She made appointment. So I go to check my credit card and they charged me $650 for a yearly plan for all my appliances which I did not want. This plan has a $100 deductible on top of it. Plus you have to wait 30 days to use it. Definitely not worth it. So I get a text message giving my appointment info. I was blown away when they said the tech would show up between 8am and 5pm. He ended up showing up around 4.

To be fair the tech was very professional and found problem and ordered part. So he said part would come to my, house. It did by Amazon. Wow. So I opened up package and the invoice was for 33.40 for the fan. They charged me $84. I could understand some markup but this is criminal. So the total job cost me 289 which included a $150 discount because of this wonderful plan. So without that plan it costing $440. To change out a fan which was easy access. Moreover, their phone lines are often staticky or filled with background noise which makes it difficult to understand their accented English. I frequently had to ask for things to be repeated. Customer service personnel stick to long, unhelpful scripts and ask for your contact information each time you call because the system they use is not connected to the system customers use, the text system, or the automated voice system. Note that I'm not speaking of account confirmation, they simply don't have the same information across systems.

I called and the automated system said my appointment had been cancelled. When I spoke with a human I was told that my appointment had NOT been cancelled.

The day of the appointment I received another text stating that the part in my possession had not shipped and that my appointment had been cancelled. This is the most poorly run, inefficient, warranty and repair service I have ever dealt with. I am sorry I EVER signed with them. And I WILL be turning this review over to the Better Business Bureau as well. FIVE months of order a part, wait 2 weeks, that doesn't fix it, order another part, wait 2 weeks, still broke, repairman goes on 2 week vacation, so wait almost 3 weeks for appointment that gets canceled because part did not arrive, that repair doesn't work, so order another part.

I purchased Sears Home Warranty Plan to cover the repairs of major appliances in my home. Other than the monthly $59 fee, I have to pay a $100 deductible for each repair. If the repair takes more than one visit, (such as when they need to order parts and come back to finish the repair) it is still just $100 deductible. In December last year, I scheduled for a repair. I was charged $100 immediately. The Sears technician came but needed to order parts. So they came back in January to complete the repair. I should not be charged the $100 deductible again but they did charge me.

I called Sears in March to ask for a refund. I was told they would mail me a refund check. But the refund check never arrived. In April, I called Sears again to follow up. I was transferred from one department to another department for multiple times until I had to hang up because I needed to leave for an appointment. I tried another time subsequent to that and experienced same thing. I got busy for a few months because I went on several trips. Today, July 16 I called Sears again. I was again transferred from department to department.

After three transfers, I spoke to somebody in the benefit department. I told her the whole story the fourth time, she told me that it's too late for her to do anything because it's been many months since the charge was made. I was furious. She transferred me to another person. I was told the same thing. I asked to talk to a manager. I was told this was the highest point of contact that I will be able to get. How infuriating!!! Sears is a scam. Don't ever buy any service contract from them!!! They used to be good. But they probably sold out their repair service to somebody else. Now it's terrible. Sears, you are scammer!!!

My Father has a contract for repair services with Sears, which he paid in full good till March 2025. His dryer broke in early March. I reached out to them on his behalf and have been given the runaround for more than 4 months. At first, they sent the repairman to the wrong house several times and when a repairman finally came, they kept saying that they need to get a new part which never came. Whenever you call them, you are on the phone for at least one hour if you're lucky. Most of the time it is longer and if you even get the chance to speak to someone, they are unable to resolve the issue or the phone mysteriously just hangs up.

After complaining for several months, they sent him a $298 voucher to put toward the purchase of a new Dryer however you can only use it at Sears. He ordered a new dryer online at Sears .com on July 3rd and had to add an additional $500 to purchase the dryer with a delivery date of July 15th which was confirmed via an email that they sent him but to no surprise the dryer wasn’t delivered on the promised date. On the day of the delivery He did not receive an email, phone call or anything to tell him that there was an issue and that he would not be receiving the dryer on the 15th ,when I called them they told me that the dryer that he purchased online on their website is not in inventory and that they would have to wait to find out from the manufacturer when the dryer would be available for delivery as they could not confirm a new delivery date.

Sears repair and Sears as a whole is a scam I would advise anyone who is thinking about purchasing an appliance from Sears or signing up for their repair services to run, not walk away from this company and to find a company that has better customer service and stands behind their words and puts customers first. They will take your money and not deliver the service or the product. The Sears Brand is Dead as it should be!!!

Called them for my undercounter ice maker and when the technician came out he took a few pictures, pushed a few buttons and went outside for a little bit and came back in and said it'll be $1500.00 to repair it. I obviously declined that and then he left. Next morning I decided to change the filter why not can't hurt. So when I got home that evening it was completely full of ice and as I'm typing now it's working perfectly. They wouldn't give me back my initial diagnostic fee of $184.00. My opinion is there was no diagnosis

My mother purchased the Sears Home Services package for approximately $800. When her air conditioning unit malfunctioned, we promptly contacted their service department. The initial appointment was scheduled for June 14, 2024. On that day, a Sears service person arrived around 1 PM and identified the problem as a frozen air conditioning line, stating they would return on June 17, 2024, without providing a specific time.

On June 17, no technician arrived, and there was no communication from Sears. My mother called the 800 number, but the representative could not understand her needs and rescheduled the appointment for June 25, 2024. I called customer service at 1-800-697-3277 to express my concerns, only to be told there was no record of the initial visit. Despite my insistence on an earlier appointment due to the situation’s urgency, the representative could not accommodate my request, and attempts to escalate the issue to a supervisor were unsuccessful.

On June 25, Technician Erek (ID# **) arrived and stated that a part needed to be ordered, promising a return visit on June 29 or 30 to complete the repair. Again, no one called or showed up. Upon contacting the 800 number, I was informed that the next appointment was scheduled for July 8, 2024, between 1-5 PM. Due to a heat advisory, I had to move my mother into a hotel until July 8.

On July 8, despite the scheduled time window, we were informed at 4:30 PM that the appointment had been rescheduled to July 25. We spoke to representative George (#**) at 5 PM, who could not provide an explanation and promised a call from a technician within 15-30 minutes, which never happened. The repeated failures, lack of communication, and disregard for my elderly mother’s needs by Sears Home Services are unacceptable. As a result, we will no longer do business with or recommend this company. I am seeking assistance in resolving this matter and ensuring that Sears Home Services is held accountable for their inadequate service.

This is far and away the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Please don't make the mistake of paying for this worse than useless service. I first had a repair issue last October and have literally over a hundred hours on the phone, I have still not gotten service. Something has gone very wrong in this business and they are failing miserably at taking responsibility. It's bad. I believe they are being sued and they deserve it.

Do not--repeat, NOT--purchase a Sears Home Service contract. We had a refrigerator fail 9 months ago. Two techs have been out and failed to effect repairs. Under the terms of the contract, Sears is to repair or replace. They then told me to find a repair service myself and send them an estimate. When I notified them that I was unable to find a repair service in our area, they told me to call one of the services who had already been here and had been unable to make the necessary repairs, pay them myself and submit the bill to Sears for reimbursement. I am in the process of canceling the contract.

The terms of the contract call for a $25 processing fee for cancelation. When I opted for an online cancellation, I was informed that it would cost me $422 to cancel. More to come--including involving my attorney or Small Claims Court if necessary. Do NOT use these people. As Monty Python would say, "Run away, run away!" They don't rate even a one star!

Again, no call, no show. Called again, same lame excuse. Again, I told them the parts are here & I gave them the part numbers. Received another empty apology and was rescheduled AGAIN, this time 11 more days out. Asked to speak to a manager and was dropped during the transfer???? I don't even know where a Sears Home Service near me or I would go there myself to talk with someone in person. This is the WORST experience with a repair ever, even worse than Lowe's!

I purchased a freezer in 2019 from Sears and bought the extended warranty however I had to have it repaired after week one. They said they would replace it if I could load it and bring it back, I told them I don't have a way to get it there. This was the first of many disappointing experiences with this company. I have lost food several times and when I bought the extended warranty I was told if they had to come out 4 times it would be replaced. Covid happened and parts were hard to get and when I got parts they have been damaged. I spoke with Esther 10/28/23 at 3:53PM and was told I would have a replacement within 3-5 business days. Well here we go again still without a freezer and the repair company just closes out the tickets which makes it difficult to try and get any information. I asked for a manager, they don't have the authority to send me to a manager. This American Freight with Sears Prime Warranty is a sham.

I have to call and pay out of pocket for my local appliance repair man to fix my fridge. Numerous calls to sears/numerous "repair appointments" they never confirmed via email/text that they are supposed to do. Talking to some foreign person that simply don't care and forget talking to a supervisor.. They won't do it. If I could give them a -100 I would.

The tech never showed up and I never received a notification that was appointment was cancelled. I have since had 4-5 additional appointments scheduled with the tech being a no-show and not receiving any notification. It is very difficult to get a live person on the line and when you do all they do is read a spiel. There is no way to talk to customer service or a supervisor. Now I am trying to get my nearly $500 back and find another repair service. I would not recommend this service. Save yourself the headache.

I have called Sears Home Services about getting my Kenmore dishwasher repaired. I scheduled a home repair on Feb 23,2024 repair man showed up, checked dishwasher for problem. He said that he would order a part and to call him when I received that part. No part was ever received and his phone number did not have a voice mail so I was unable to contact him. I waited 2 months for this part that never came. So I called Sears Home Service again. They sent out another Sears Home Services repair person this time on April 29,2024. He checked dishwasher and also ordered a part that was needed to repair the dishwasher. He scheduled an appointment for May 7th between 1and 5PM. He never called to cancel appointment and I never received the part to repair the dishwasher.

I called Sears Home Services and they said they would investigate the matter and get back to me. So far I have heard nothing. They just pay you Lip Service and Ignore your problem. I have been a Sears Customer since 1982 and never had so much of a problem getting Sears to take care of it. No wonder they went out of business. So disappointed with them I wouldn't recommend them for any kind of repairs.

Twenty years ago, we purchased a Sony Wega TV and a Sears Home Service agreement, that included home service to fix or replace the Sony. For 20 years, there was never a problem with the TV, and for 20 years we continued to pay the for Sears Home Service. (Yes, we were foolish!) This year, one of the parts (not the major tube!) bummed out. Sears Home Service provided an excellent local technician who located the problem—but the part was no longer available (not from Sears, nor from anywhere else). Sears Home Service, via repeated phone calls, processed the situation and agreed to replace the TV or to pay compensation. It has taken more than a month and all they are going to do after "processing" the situation is a check that will not arrive for another month for $299.00—period!

At first I was told they would also provide compensation for delivery, and to have my wonderful old Sony picked up and discarded. But for whatever reason they are not even going to do that. Yes, I was an idiot for renewing the Agreement for twenty years (for approximately one thousand dollars over the twenty years—without ever a home service needed). Again, yes, that was a pretty dumb thing to do! But we did it... expecting Sears Home Service would abide to the Agreement, just as I paid them monthly for the twenty years. The Moral is... I will never buy any Agreement and continue it for more than three years; and I will never, ever, ever deal with Sears Home Services.
