Sears Home Hub or Home Warranty is a total disaster. Each review on here that is negative regarding cancelling appt repeatedly (mine was 9 times over 32 days) is honest. I have cancelled them and will never use them again. The techs are frustrated to know end. Everything is done through ineffective AI and you will be lied to and never be able to talk to anyone. When I lucked out one day and got a live person they gave me an escalation dept number that were disconnected! Be careful!

They are a joke. 100% AI call center. Now I have had 3 Appts. all changed or canceled with no notification. There is no way to get a refund for the over $500 I have spent on trying to get my washer fixed. The tech gave me the only number he has for corporate which is the same AI customer number. This is a complete waste of time. Avoid this company at all cost. Run as fast as you can the other direction.

They just cancelled for the 2nd time after having me wait around the house for most of the day. They make your appointment and give a timeframe between 8 am to 5 pm. There seems to be no way to talk to a real person. They let you chat to an AI rep who surprisingly won't take any complaints or give you any important info (like a phone # for real person). After they said they could not make it today, they sent me another message that my appointment was still on for today. I'm fairly certain it isn't and think AI just confused itself!

Words can not express my frustration with this company. June 20th my dishwasher would not power on. I called Sears #Warranty and they were able to come out the very same day. The technician came in never opened the door to look to see what was going on. Just said it needed a control board and that he would order it. It took over two weeks for it to come in and another week to get a service guy out to install it when the service guy came out finally, he took the door apart and installed the control board and it still didn’t work so he continued to look through the area of the door where he found that the wiring harness had been burnt, and the fuse had been burnt, so I was still without a dishwasher because he had to order those parts. He stated that he wasn’t even sure that would fix the problem when he got them.
So fast-forward a week I reached out to Sears when I hadn’t gotten the parts and still no working dishwasher, I talked to a really nice guy that said he was going to put in a request for a replacement dishwasher because there were two attempts in the unit was not fixed. He said to check back in 3 to 5 days to see if I got approved for the replacement dishwasher. He said once I was approved then I could cancel the repair part so that’s what I did four days after I spoke with him. I called and a nice lady told me that I had been approved and that the next steps were to keep a check on my email that I would be getting a coupon code that I could use towards any dishwasher on the Sears website and they would cover all costs for the dishwasher, the installation and the haul off of my old dishwasher. She stated that it would take 3 to 5 business days to get the coupon code.
I called on the fourth day to see where we are and another lady said it had to go through channels before you could get the coupon code so she accelerated the order and said I should have an answer in 3 to 5 days. I am still waiting. And to top it off they have now said the promise for the new dishwasher was an error. They now show my service has been complete and my dishwasher is still dead.
The lies and all the phone calls are exhausting not to mention the CSR now just disconnect my phone calls. I called back immediately yesterday asking to speak to a supervisor, they claim they are the highest person I can speak with. This is unacceptable. This needs to be made right. MY ADVICE IS TO STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY UNTIL THEY GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER.

Scottsdale AZ. Been paying for warranty for over five years. 8-year old GE microwave went out in April and 8-year old Bosh dish washer went out in May. They sent a totally incompetent technician, Joseph, three times. He never turned them on, but said he knew what the problems are and ordered four different parts. Came back two more times and totally burned up the microwave and said he would order a new one, but never did. Today, July 31, they sent Jakob, who as excellent and knowledgeable, said the dishwasher part was wrong and Joseph removed some parts. After three months, three visits and dozens of phone calls, we hope we have a solution to both.

Worst service, came on Monday not prepared to fix my dryer. For some reason they thought it was a washer even though I put in the serial number and Lowe’s confirmed it was a dryer on their website. Said they would be here Wednesday. Never showed up. Impossible to contact them because they do not have people. It is an AI only. Waited around Thursday for seven hours and yet again nobody showed up. I will never buy from Lowe’s or use this type of protection plan from a company again.

I contacted Sears to schedule maintenance for my washer and dryer. The technician pushed a $66/month home warranty that covered all appliances—I only needed help with the washer, but he said it was “all or nothing.” I trusted he’d still do quality work, so I declined the warranty. Big mistake. I didn’t check the washer before he left, and when I went to use it, it wasn’t working at all. Now I’m calling another company and will never use Sears again for any repair or maintenance. Disappointed in the upsell pressure and lack of accountability.

I wouldn't even give Sears Home Warranty services one star (but it wouldn't let me post without it)!! I purchased the Warranty when I purchased my new washer in 2022. My washer broke down 4 MONTHS ago (in April, 2025) and I am STILL waiting for a technician. I have had 5 appointments scheduled with them and they have either canceled them the day of the appointment or just didn't show up, but still continue to collect my monthly service fee. When I try to contact an agent all I get is an AI who tells me there are no agents to speak with. OUTRAGEOUS!!! I will NEVER deal with Sears again.

I'm a Sears customer for 42 years. I have a Sears whole home warranty. My AC unit is not running efficiently and blowing warm air. I received a text that my appointment is canceled during a heatwave. I've been addressing this AC efficiency issue for 4 years. Tech's said, "unit should be replaced, but I can't recommend that to my company, because I will get in trouble". There is a replacement guarantee!!! In the meantime, I keep paying deductibles. I spoke to a supervisor who didn't care. Customer service is incompetent. Nightmare! I waited three weeks for the repair parts to come in for my 2 1/2 year-old dishwasher. I kept calling and calling finally I was told that I would be able to order a new one, but the kicker is I had to order it from Sears. Supposedly it would cover Installation and take away. Attempted to order new dishwasher with the 10% discount. Listed on the Sears website. Told that their system was down and impossible to order. I had to wait four days before the system was up and then the 10% discount only was for teachers and one other group. Previously, it was not For specific persons. It was for anyone that bought an appliance. Then it was another several weeks for delivery. I was told by a phone call. It was going to be delivered the next day, but I never got a delivery between the hours that I was told so I called and learned that the dishwasher had just arrived in their warehouse in Illinois so another week I had to wait.
Dishwasher is here but for three weeks I’ve been calling to set up an installation and take away for the dishwasher. Last week they finally told me there is no one within 100 mile radius of my home for that service so now I am looking for a plumber. 90% of the customer service reps are poorly trained, and give out incorrect information. In addition, they have a heavy accent and difficult to understand. I am sorry that I purchased this coverage because I could’ve had a new dishwasher installed and the old taken away back in April.
Prior to this nightmare, I had a service man come out about my 48 inch refrigerator freezer. He told me that part needed to be replaced, but the entire unit would have to be pulled out because the replacement part was in the back of the unit. I received the part and someone was sent in for the repair And the service man said no you don’t have to pull the unit out. It was accessible from the front. It is evident that Sears has incompetent repair people as well as their customer Service reps.

As with many other reviews, my experience with Sears has been extremely frustrating and now worrisome. I contacted them to repair my Kenmore dryer. The automated "AI" system is frustrating, and it is impossible to talk to a "real" person. The AI "chat bot" does not allow you to ask questions. Finally, I got an appointment. The technician came in his own car, not wearing a uniform, and spent most of the time looking at his phone before telling me I needed an expensive part he did not have. I ordered this part and paid for it, set up a follow-up repair day when I worked from home. After four hours, I received an "AI" text cancelling my appointment. Since I use a flip phone, I cannot open the links in the "AI"-generated text messages. It is impossible to inform them of this since there is no "them," just an AI bot.
I am currently waiting for the technician to show up. I spent over 500 dollars on a part which sits in my basement. I am so frustrated in my attempts to get support or answers and am now worried that this issue will not be resolved and I will have spent all this money for naught. Sears used to be great, reliable company which has denigrated. Clearly, it is run by some large corporation seeking to make profits and could care less about customers--the opposite of how a good business works. While it helps to know that I am not alone in this experience, I hope some type of action against Sears will occur in the future, perhaps a class-action lawsuit for customers who have suffered from their terrible customer service and failure to offer effective support for their products.

I set up a repair appointment for a Sears Kenmore refrigerator. The estimated time of the technicians arrival was between 2:30 and 4:00. Since I work 40 minutes away, I tried to arrange for the tech to call me when he was on the way so I could meet him at the house. Unfortunately, you cannot talk to a real person, only AI. The AI assured me that the tech would call me before traveling to the house which of course did not happen. The app that was sent to me so that I would know when the tech was on the way is useless. I checked the app multiple times and it kept telling me that the earliest the tech would arrive was still 2:30. The option to send the tech a message in the app is non functional.
The app is absolutely useless. I checked the app again at 11:30 am and of course the tech had arrived at 11:27 am and I received the dreaded "Sorry we missed you" message. I can not put into words how upset this made me. For the next hour I tried without success to actually talk to a real person only to get another AI. I then tried to make another appointment but I think the tech that had to drive that far out of their way would not accept the appointment at my address for any open days right out into August. I will never purchase a Sears Kenmore product again. I will now have to purchase a new refrigerator because of this complete incompetence! Buyer beware!!!

By far the worse company I have ever dealt with. Three appointments were no shows. Lost three days work waiting for no one. Home Shield repair order, so Sears had no record of my phone number. Their help line then didn't recognize me so the AI just hung up on me. When a tech did come, he misdiagnosed and ordered parts. When he got the parts and repaired the washer, said "it's fixed, but don't put anything but light loads in it. It won't work." So he admitted he was wrong. Next tech told me the firs guy was totally wrong. Ordered parts and I waited a month for appointment. But again...they were no shows. Now it's up to my attorneys.

😤 Outrageous Experience with Sears Home Services. If I could give negative stars, I would. My experience with Sears Home Services was a masterclass in negligence, broken promises, and AI-driven stonewalling. It started on June 13, when I scheduled an appointment for a refrigerator repair. The technician never showed up—no notice, no apology. I tried calling, but there is no human support. Just a lifeless AI bot that couldn’t answer basic questions. Fine. I rescheduled for July 1. This time the technician arrived, diagnosed the issue, collected a deposit for parts, and promised a follow-up. The parts arrived around July 9, and installation was scheduled for July 15. Guess what? Another no-show. Canceled with zero warning at noon the day of. Beyond frustrated, I rescheduled again for July 22, confirmed multiple times, and STILL—canceled AGAIN at 5 PM the same day. I gave this company every chance to make things right.
And here’s the kicker: the technician who did show up left a voicemail from A&E Factory Services—a company linked to Sears. One quick Google search and I found a sea of 1-star reviews complaining about the exact same issues: deposits taken, no follow-ups, and no accountability. Meanwhile, Sears hides behind bots with no humans available to help. No returned calls. No escalation options. Just a black hole of customer service failure. I’ve paid them. I’ve waited. I’ve been polite. And I’ve been ignored. This is unacceptable. Sears Home Services and their contractors are operating in a way that feels almost predatory. Do not trust this company with your time, your money, or your appliances.

I had an appointment for these people for nearly a week. They gave me a window of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to be here. I had heard nothing all day and called several times to find out I was on a route and they would be here. At around 3:30 they told me they would not make it today. But they could come back either one week or two weeks from today. I waited around all day for these people and will never do it again. If I was you I wouldn't do it either. If they can't keep an appointment what kind of repair service will they do?

The agent told me the dishwasher was fine, and that clearing my drain would solve the issue. It didn’t, so I brought him back two days later. He insisted the dishwasher was fine, and told me to call a plumber. He said I could order a $400 part if it would make me happy, and that he’d have to charge me for the second visit. When I refused, as he had said the second visit would be free, he just walked out. Eventually, I was able to diagnose and fix the dishwasher myself, with no more appliance repair training than a YouTube video, and two months’ worth of calls to Sears finally got my visit fee refunded. Before you call Sears, see if you can fix it yourself; you may be more qualified and capable than whoever they send to your door.

Never choose Sears Home Services!!! My 88 year old mother went without a working refrigerator for almost 3 weeks after having the problem diagnosed. She would schedule the repair, received confirmation the morning of the service, then no one would show up. This happened 4 times. I called to help get someone scheduled, and it's almost impossible to talk with a person. You are constantly routed to the website or to an AI assistant, so you can't enter a complaint or seek resolution to confirm a technician is assigned to your appointment.

I was able to easily reschedule a return visit from technician Ruben for the very next day. He came in the morning early and finally fixed the problem, and I was not charged again. The initial charge of $129 covered this second visit. This was simply a repair. I did not sign up for any type of warranty program with Sears Home Services. Technician was professional, courteous and friendly. I was kept updated via text on his arrival time.

The title says it all. It would seem that a Sears Repair Insurance Plan would prevent you from constantly searching for a reliable technician to handle your washer that is badly in need of repairs, but this is an illusion. Even when one is a customer in good standing, Sears does not provide dependable services. The services that should have been provided have not been executed even though your monthly payment has been paid. Today was the eighth time that I receive a text message from Sears Home Services stating that: "WE regret to inform you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to have a technician available to service your appliance."
Picture receiving the same message eight times in nine months. Despite charging your credit card a $100.00 fee, there has been no technician visit to your house. Remember that the reason was "due to unforeseen circumstances." Forget about the fact that you might have taken a day off from work every time to be present. Unfortunately, the text message reached you while you were waiting for the technician's arrival. Who cares? This is the motto of Sears Home Services: "As long as we receive payment for our monthly Service Plan, we do not care if you have to wait seven or eight months to have your appliances fixed. Moreover, we do not care if your appliances are not fixed."

Dear Sears Customer Service Team. I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the service I have received from Sears Repair. My recent experience has been nothing short of unacceptable, and I feel compelled to bring it to your attention. I scheduled a repair for a Kenmore Elite Dryer. Not only was the appointment rescheduled without adequate notice, but I also received little to no communication from your team. When I attempted to reach out for updates, I was met with long wait times, transferred multiple times, and no verbal communication from your team.
Even more concerning, the technician who finally arrived was either unprepared or unable to complete the repair, leaving the issue unresolved. I've been trying to contact you but to no avail. Once again, I have been left in the dark with no response. This experience has caused significant inconvenience and has shaken my confidence in the reliability and professionalism of your service department. I expected much better from a company with Sears’ reputation. I would appreciate it if someone could follow up with me directly to address this matter and explain how Sears intends to make this right.

We prepaid for the parts and it took contacting the company 4 separate times to secure a refund. I would NOT recommend this service, at all. The second technician came and said the first technician ordered the wrong parts so he ordered another set of parts. Beyond that, it was a struggle to get another technician to come and install the newly ordered parts. The first schedule, the technician just did not show up. Sears provides a wide window for their services from 8 AM to 5 p m.
I waited all day and received a text message at 430 pm that the schedule had been moved to the next day. The next day, the technician called me at 330 PM and said he will arrive at 430 p m. My wife was with my son at PT. I called my wife and asked her to return home just to meet the tech. 20 minutes after my wife had already made it home, the tech texted and said he couldn't make it anymore. And that the appointment has been moved to tomorrow. I tried reaching out to this tech, but he would not pick up his phone or respond to my texts. The next day the part came and I received an automated call from Sears stating that the repair date would be canceled and I would have to re-schedule up to 3 to 4 months out. The technician came into the home took a picture of the model/serial number and went out to his vehicle for less than 5 mins. returning to the front door stating that he must stop here. He was just informed that they no longer service Kenmore water heaters and no longer sell water heaters so there was no service he could offer me. They made it as if I declined their services.
#1 Why would you send a technician to my home for an appliance that you no longer service? #2 The representative who schedule the appointment should have been aware that the Kenmore water heater appliance is something that Sears no longer service or provide. #3 I paid a service fee and was not provided any service, no suggestions, no referrals for service with another vendor. Sears tech pulled up to my home in his personal Jeep Compass and a faded blue Sears shirt collecting free $119.00 service fees. I reached out to have them stop by to service our appliance, it started on Wednesday, I scheduled for Thursday. We had guests coming so needed our washer repaired in a hurry.
They pushed it from Thursday to Friday, and then to Monday. Monday a tech showed up. Said we needed a new pump. So he ordered the pump to ship overnight and said he would come back on Tuesday. They sent a note on Tuesday and said they would come out on Wednesday instead, then pushed it to Thursday, then pushed it to Friday. Then no show on Friday. I finally installed the pump myself on Saturday and cancelled the appointment. They charged me $369 for part and installation. Part cost slightly over $100.00
Then a service guy showed up on Monday. Told him we installed the pump ourselves so he left. I reached out to make sure future appointments were cancelled. Another service guy showed up on Tuesday. I told him the same thing. He left. No apologies and no suggestions on how to get a refund. I have yet to be refunded for the installation. No one to talk to, just AI prompts sending me nowhere. They sent the request to Sears Home Services. I was excited when I saw it was going to Sears because I bought the washing machine about 10 years ago from Sears & thought this would be a great fit. I was scheduled for June 9th. First they give you an 8 hour window, which I felt was strange, have never encountered this type of window in all my years, but the technician did show up, looked at my machine and stated he needed to order some parts & the parts would come to my home w/in 3 to 5 days and we rescheduled for June 13th to put the parts in; I was a bit worried the parts would not get here in time, but they did, which was great.
Well, on June 12th, I received a text message that unfortunately, the parts will not be here in time for the scheduled appointment on the 13th, & they were scheduling me for the 24th about 2 weeks later. I was SHOCKED because I was looking at the parts and I could not wait 2 weeks for a repair, I was running out of clean clothes to wear. I contacted my home warranty company & told them and they contacted them & they gave me a date of the 14th to come out, (which was a Saturday) well I waited all day & close to the end of the 8 hr. window, I received a text message; due to unforeseen circumstances they could not come out to do the repair.
I contacted my warranty company, they contacted them only to find out the office was closed. They called them again on Monday & I was given the 17th to come out & once again another text message that the could not come out; my warranty company called again & I was given the 19th; once again a text message they could not come out. The warranty company stated that when they called they stated the technician did not have a work order to come to my house; I replied that makes NO SENSE whatsoever, they scheduled me for the 21st; another Saturday, which I refused, because the office is closed.
I demanded the warranty company to send my work order to another vendor; which they did & they forgot to cancel out of the Sears system & guess what, I let the appointment stand, and of course, I received a text message at the end of the day that they were not coming and requesting another date for them to NOT come out; which I refused to respond to. I told my warranty company they need to get rid of them because they are giving them a bad name.
They use AI & text messages to communicate with the customers, which I think is fantastic, but if you are using technology to hide, because you know you will not be coming out to assist customers, then you need to stop using it and if this is the treatment you will give to customers, then you should not be in business. I will be sharing my experiences with any and all avenues I can to spare people the frustration and anger I have been going through from this disgusting company and to everyone who has a contract with them, please get out of it now. I also saw another site where there was over 200 complaints against them.

We have been using Sears Home Services since approximately 1990. We had a Refrigerator/freezer, a stand-alone Freezer, a Washing Machine and a Dryer covered under their “Master Protection Agreement”. I generally find extended maintenance agreements to be a waste of money. When I met my wife, she was a single Mom with 3 children and at the time, the Sears maintenance coverage was a good insurance plan for her. After we married, we continued to renew the plan every few years. Sear Home Services is now using AI for all their rescheduling appointments. Getting a human to talk to is next to impossible. If you call sales to buy a service plan you can talk to a very well spoken English speaking employee.
If you call to make your initial service appointment you will get someone who speaks heavily accented English from a call center somewhere over seas. If you need to follow up on an existing appointment or to reschedule an existing appointment you will have to communicate with AI. It’s a terribly painful system to deal with and the reason that prompted me to write this review.
Today I had a 35 minute conversation with Samantha (or Sondra or some other AI) who apologized twenty two times (literally) and tried to help me reschedule an appointment only to tell me there was a system trouble (after half an hour!) and I would have to hang up and try to reschedule online. We have been waiting thirty (yes 30) days for Sears to repair our refrigerator/freezer and, oh well, here’s our story to date…
On Friday, May 16, 2025, we opened our refrigerator to find a hot mess. A fully packed freezer and refrigerator was hot and leaking all over the kitchen floor. We had to throw out approximately $800 worth of food and prescription medicine. After cleaning up the mess, we called Sears Home Services to schedule a technician to repair the fridge/freezer. We were able to speak to a live person and were told the first available appointment was 7 days later, Friday, May 23rd.
On Friday, May 23rd (after waiting 7 days) the technician arrived and determined the problem was a failed compressor. He then ordered the part and had it shipped to the Sears warehouse. He told us they would need to reschedule a technician to come back to install the new compressor after they received it. The earliest appointment we could get for a Sears technician to install the new compressor was 12 days later on Wednesday, June 4th. (19 days after our initial call for service.)
At 8:03am Wednesday, June 4th, we received an email reminding us that the Sears technician would arrive between 8am and 5pm. We set aside the nine hours so we could be home and wait for the technician. Somewhere around 4:00pm we received an email/text stating Sears was sorry, but they would not be able to keep our appointment that day and we would need to reschedule.
I then attempted to reach a live person at Sears and somehow was able to speak to a woman who said she would make a note on our account that we were in desperate need of service for medical reasons, and they would try to get us an earlier appointment. We told her we would be traveling out of the country on Monday, June 9th through Thursday, June 12th and would not be available those four days. The earliest appointment they could schedule for us was 9 days later, Friday, June 13th. Not happy with the additional 9 day wait but desperate to get our fridge/freezer fixed, we then made plans to be home to wait for a Sears technician for 9 more hours on June 13th.
On Thursday, June 5th at 7:25am we received an email telling us our appointment had been rescheduled for Tuesday, June 10th (one of the days we would be out of the country). After many failed attempts to reach a live person, we ended up using the online rescheduling tool. Only now, our original appointment for June 13th was not available. AI had changed our appointment without asking us to a day we were not available and would be out of the country. The earliest appointment available to reschedule was now Monday, June 16th, 12 days after our initial appointment to diagnose the problem and 30 days after our first call to Sears.
On Wednesday, June 11th at 4:52pm we received an email reminding us that a technician would be arriving on Monday, June 16th between 8:00am and 5:00pm. (We are hopeful). On Friday, June 13th at 2:41pm we received an email reminding us that a technician would be arriving on Monday, June 16th between 8:00am and 5:00pm. (We are happy.)
On Saturday, June 14th at 5:03pm we received an email reminding us that a technician would be arriving on Monday, June 16th between 8:00am and 5:00pm.(We are excited.) On Sunday, June 15th we received an email reminding us that a technician would be arriving on Monday, June 16th between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Each one of these emails reminded us, “Your repair appointment is Monday. Need to cancel or reschedule? Let us know right away, to avoid a service charge.” Really? (We are now tired of eating out and just want our refrigerator/freezer fixed.)
Today is Monday, June 16th. The day is finally here! At 8:00am we are ready for the technician. The refrigerator is cleared of all obstacles that could get in the technician’s way. We have cleared our schedules for the entire day and have one thing on our mind. (Okay, many things on our mind like homemade eggs and bacon in the morning, ice coffee, iced tea, hell, anything with ice in it…) We received an email at 8:04 this morning reminding us we have an appointment today and to let them know right away if we need to cancel it to avoid a surcharge. Oh wait! Another text at 12:54pm.
“Hello, this is Richard, your AI virtual assistant from Sears Home Services. We regret to inform you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to have a technician available today to service your appliance. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We would like to make this right by rescheduling your appointment at the next available time. Which of the following works best for you?
1) Saturday, 6/21, 8am-5pm2) Monday, 6/30, 8am-5pm
3) Tuesday, 7/1, 8am-5pm
4) Wednesday, 7/2, 8am-5pm”
Okay, is it me or is there something very wrong happening here? I had to try one more time for a live person. That’s when I got Samantha (or Sondra or some other AI) who apologized 22 times (literally) and tried to help me reschedule an appointment only to tell me there was a system trouble (after half an hour!) and I would have to hang up and try to reschedule online. We have been waiting thirty (yes 30) days for Sears to repair our refrigerator/freezer and, oh well, here we go again.
Are they trying to drive customers away? I realize the Sears our parents and grandparents knew disappeared a long time ago. But there must still be many thousands of families out there who have bought contracts with Sears Home Services and are as unhappy as we are with the “service”. Sears is now a disgrace of a company who has gone the way of over seas call centers and now AI only interactions with most of their services.
I’ll admit, I had an interesting discussion with Samantha (or Sondra or some other AI) this afternoon. I asked her if she was really “sorry” as she kept saying. How could she be sorry if feeling sorry was a feeling that she as an AI thingy couldn’t feel? She apologized again and gave me a really intelligent (yet snotty) answer, "Sorry?" She (IT) wasn’t very authentic. How can a machine, devoid of genuine emotions, offer an apology?
Our new rescheduled appointment is Monday, June 30th. That is another 14 days from today. That is 44 days after our initial call to Sears Home Services. How sad. :-( I just read through the Sears Master Agreement and do not see any promise to repair in any reasonable amount of time. There may be something in there but this is probably a class action waiting to happen. Me? I’m not interested. Just fix my fridge/freezer and I will never ask you to come back.

We have made multiple attempts at scheduling repair. It was difficult to get appointments and one was canceled and another was a no-show. Whether you call or go online, there is an AI system “Samantha” that is glitchy, requiring you to start from the beginning repeatedly as if you already hadn’t spent an hour going over and over the issue and providing the requested information. After much frustration and interruption the one tells you the at you have to go to the other, and round and round for hours you go. They tell you that there is no live person option, “but I can help you resolve your issue quickly”, and the gaslighting continues. There appears to be no actual way to schedule an appointment or resolve an actual, reality-based issue. They express apologies and offer to send you around and around again. Our refrigerator sits in repaired after three months and over thirty attempts at resolution.

Sears gave me a Saturday appt with a 8a-5p window. They messaged me, "Hello, this Richard from Sears Home Services – checking in to ensure that the technician can have the right parts ready prior to your appointment. What’s your appliance’s model number?" I provided the model number. They informed that they would order the parts prior to the technician's arrival and to keep in mind that my appointment could change depending on parts availability.
On Saturday morning at 7:18a I received an email confirming my appointment. At 4.23p I contacted Sears to inquire if the technician was en route as my 8.5 hour wait time was closing and the technician had not called or arrived to my home. The virtual assistant thanked me for calling and informed me that I needed to reschedule my appointment. This is unacceptable to have someone waiting for 8 hours and the company not call and or show up for an appointment. I will NEVER 👎 use Sears again for my appliance repairs. I will wait or buy new appliances before I use theirs services.

Since the moment Abimael ** stepped foot on my property, it was clear I was dealing with someone who thinks he's above accountability. This technician showed up with a smug attitude, zero professionalism, and a giant chip on his shoulder. He acted like a know-it-all, completely unwilling to listen, explain, or collaborate. In his mind, the buck stops with him--and customer concerns don't matter. Instead of addressing any concerns like a professional, Abimael ** escalated, got defensive, and made the situation personal. He wasn't there to help--he was there to posture, prove a point, and flex authority he clearly didn't have.
It was less of a service visit and more of a power display by someone who doesn't understand the concept of respect or customer care. The lack of courtesy, decency, or even basic communication was appalling. If this is who Sears trusts to represent their brand, then the entire department needs to be reevaluated. It's evident loyalty doesn't matter. Abimael ** didn't just fail to resolve the issue--he made it worse. And Sears, by allowing this kind of behavior to slide, is complicit in the damage being done to its customer relationships. Avoid this technician. Avoid this company. They've clearly forgotten who they work for. And don't bother calling Sears. You can't get anywhere with them. It's only a matter of time before Transformco collapses because of its employees.

(Meaning: they were in working order except for some snafu) There is an immediate $100 copay for a service technician to even come out. But so far, no out-of-pocket payments for labor and parts. So, if you can hold on to older appliances before replacing, this is a good enough option for service.

I had a leak that had developed somewhere near my refrigerator’s water filter. I contacted Sears Home Services to repair the leak and they promptly scheduled a service visit. The service visit occurred on 4/16/25 and was very brief. The technician explained I needed some parts totaling $201.43 and would schedule a return visit once the parts arrived. He further explained that the service call charge would be added into the subsequent visit tentatively scheduled for 4/30/25 and showed the total bill would be $571.38 (which included the $201.43 for parts) which I paid in advance.
The parts arrived fairly quickly and I opened the shipping bag to inspect the contents which consisted of a water filter (my existing water filter was new and the leak wasn’t originating from the filter) and a cap/plug for the water filter which I assumed would allow water to by-pass the filter. These parts didn’t appear to match the issue so I attempted to contact Sears Home Services to speak to a technician. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any contact information that would connect me with a person. In the meantime, the automated Sears Home Services scheduling system contacted me to set up the follow-up appointment on 4/21/25. I changed my work schedule to accommodate the new date.
On 4/20/25 I received an automated call informing the me that the technician needed to reschedule the appointment and referred me to an email to reschedule. I returned to the Sears Home Services website in an attempt to speak with someone. I remained concerned that the parts shipped were incorrect and that the technician may not be as skilled as he needed to be to complete the repair. After numerous calls (and dead-ends that led to automated assistants), I was finally able to speak with a person. I explained my concerns and was told that I could request a technician who was more skilled/experienced than the person who made the first service call. This person set up a rescheduled visit for 4/22. I again changed my work schedule to accommodate this new date. On the morning of 4/22 I received an automated call informing me that the technician needed to cancel the service call.
Two days later I received an automated call to reschedule the service visit. I attempted to request to speak to a representative but there was no option to do so. Again, I returned to the Sears Home Services website in an attempt to speak with someone but was unsuccessful. At this point, I had paid $571.38 for a ten-minute “service call” (diagnostic?) and parts (1 water filter and one small plastic plug/cap). Water continued to leak into a ½ gallon container placed inside the refrigerator every day. I was unable to speak to anyone at Sears Home Services.
I then contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge since I couldn’t communicate with Sears Home Services. I would have much preferred speaking with Sears, perhaps completing the repair or returning the parts and paying for the original service call. My credit card company reviewed the dispute and determined that Sears Home Services stated I had received the parts (true) and the repair was completed (not true).

The appointment for LG washer repair has been rescheduled 3 times, with the reason being given that the part will not arrive in time. Each reschedule is 1 week later. Sears wants you to get frustrated and hire someone on your own to do the repair. Before buying the home warranty, I could always get a repair through Sears or others within a couple of days. I have a home service Insurance with Sears. My washing machine broke in March, and I had a technician come to take a look at it. He said the machine was too old, there were no parts available anymore and I should get a new one. I was told that they will send me a check for the new machine. Weeks went by and I didn’t hear back from them. I called them and heard from them that the technician hadn’t signed off on the order and I should wait.
I also texted the technician, Randall, several times who seemed to be a nice guy. He was also the one who sold me on the insurance a year earlier. But it wasn’t so nice that he didn’t get back to me. He went totally out of communication. Then at some point, I was sent a new service appointment which two days before it happened was canceled without reason from their end.
Two months after the first appointment, I called the company again and they told me that because I don’t have the broken machine anymore, they wouldn’t pay for a new one. So they really expected me to sit here for two months without a washing machine? I asked for the supervisor to get back to me which has not happened. This is very upsetting. Beware: Deceptive Practices and Potential Fraud. I strongly urge others to avoid using Sears Home Services. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare and, frankly, borders on fraudulent business practices. In March, I paid nearly $600 for a stove repair. I was told a replacement part was being ordered and the technician would return within a week. Instead, my appointment was repeatedly cancelled due to supposed backorders & delays. After six weeks, an aftermarket part—ordered by Sears, from Amazon—was shipped to my home.
When the technician arrived, he confirmed the part was incorrect and incompatible. He advised that the original manufacturer part was unavailable, said he would take the part with him & have it returned to Amazon, and promised me a full refund would be issued. That refund never came. Since then, I’ve been stuck in an endless loop between a useless AI system (“Samantha”) that can’t assist with refunds and directs you to the website, and a website that refers you back to the phone line. I filed a dispute through my bank which was recently denied after Sears falsely claimed the part was delivered and service was rendered.
After days of persistence, I reached a live agent who confirmed their records showed the part was returned and no repair completed. He agreed the refund should have been processed over a month prior and said the issue would be escalated. I was told to expect an email confirmation within two days. That never came.
I followed up again today and was told to “be patient”—despite having waited nearly three months already. I asked for a supervisor, was placed on hold for 15 minutes, then disconnected. When I tried to call back, the system looped me back to the AI assistant, which again directed me to the website before hanging up.
This is not just poor customer service—it’s unethical. Sears Home Services took my money, failed to deliver the service, and has made it virtually impossible to speak with a human or get resolution. These tactics are consistent with deceptive trade practices and even constitutes as consumer fraud under state law. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. Avoid this company at all costs.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I purchased a service plan from SEARS home services in April 2024 because I had used sears services in the past and had a great experience. The current administrators of the Sears home services brand is "Transform SR brands LLC". This new sears service brand is a total rip-off! I had a problem occur at the beginning of 2025 that involved both my clothes washer and dishwasher. It took 2 months to fix the clothes washer...we had to travel to the nearest laundromat and pay during the 2 months.
First, their time frame for arrival to the house is always 8 am-5pm, so you need an entire day to wait around for them to show up. When they did show up, they ordered a part, it was the wrong part, so they 2 visits later, they ordered another part. During this time, they canceled appointments twice with no consideration for the time that my wife had taken off from work to accommodate their schedule. So the clothes washer get fixed finally. The dishwasher required another service person to come out. They ordered a part based on my wife's description (no diagnostic).
When it arrived, they said that I could fix the machine. I refused, since I'm paying for a contract and made them send out a service person. He arrived about a month later, after 2 cancellations. The part was wrong, so they needed another part. It got ordered, and in March they installed it. Keep in mind that this had been ongoing since January. Since the second part was installed my dishwasher now leaks, which it wasn't doing before! I tried on several occasions to contact the service plan administrators only to find that all phone numbers go to an automated line with the exception of this one (847-418-8223). I'm posting this because it is near impossible to find. Anyway, I have canceled my contract with them and I'm moving on to a reputable company. If you're looking for TERRIBLE SERVICE from everyone involved, and appliance in WORSE CONDITION than when they started, try your luck.

Don't bother with the home warranty service. Sears is not what it use to be and they don't stand behind products or this expensive warranty. You are better off to save the monthly fee and buy a new appliance if yours breaks or buy from somewhere else that has better customer service. My appointment to fix my washing machine has been rescheduled over 5 times now, no call and now show for most of those after taking the full day off of work waiting for them.
Now they say the part is no longer available but instead of replacing the washer, they are ordering refurbished parts to try to fix it so I am waiting another 3 days in hopes that it shows up after already waiting for over a month and then crossing my fingers that a used part will work. You can't reach a human, everything is AI prompted. You have to act like you want to buy a new warranty to actually reach someone to talk to but even escalating it to the supervisor level doesn't help when talking with a human as they are still reading from a script and not helpful. I want Sears of the old days back.

Six weeks later, after countless calls and speaking to people who are difficult to understand, a promise to replace the machine at 4 weeks (someone will get with you in 5 business days), no one did. Called again, the part that wasn’t available for 4 weeks is now arriving. Received part, notified Sears, tech assigned for Monday. Of course, he didn’t show. Next available is Friday. It’s always Mondays and Fridays, so you can bother them over the weekend. And don’t get me started with the virtual assistant with an attitude. I understand why they have a 1-star rating. Stay clear.

Came out the next day when I called to get my refrigerator fixed. The part was $755.17 and I later found it on Amazon for under $300. I signed up for the $75.70 monthly service contract. It had to be rescheduled once at the last minute after I waited at home all day - no explanation. It was fixed. A month later the refrigerator stopped working. I called and it took two weeks for the repair tech to come. He ordered a part that came in on a Tuesday and he was supposed to be here on Friday. About 4pm I got a message saying they had to reschedule again for the next Friday. The next Friday came and about 3:30 they wanted to reschedule. The closest option was Tuesday but when I selected that it said it was no longer available.
Now the next time was a few more weeks away. I called and cancelled the policy. It seems like I'm not the first one who got great service - until they signed a service contract. Then, it seems like I was placed on a non-priority list of some sort. I live in southeastern Wisconsin - about 45 minutes southwest of Milwaukee and it appears they don't have service techs in the area - both fellows that showed up lived nearly an hour away in a Chicago suburb. It's unfortunate because the plan would be worthwhile if they had adequate staff. Unfortunately they do not.

I have ZERO confidence about anything Sears Home Service has to say. Their performance under this warranty has been abysmal. First they send someone to fix my old Kenmore clothes washing machine. Then they can't get all the parts after the repairman he verified that they were available. I was notified via e-mail that a replacement machine had been ordered for me. No prior notification about his decision by Sears. I ordered a replacement Kenmore machine and was given a delivery date. The scheduled delivery didn't happen on two different scheduled dates. It turned out that a replacement Kenmore machine was not available. Then I selected a different brand. Now that has not been available despite the fact that I have been given 3 different delivery dates.
What are you people doing? Your so-called home warranty has been worthless. I haven't had a working washing machine for more than 3 months and Sears has blown through 5 different delivery dates. At no time has Sears ever contacted me to tell me that they were not going to deliver the machine on the scheduled date. I had to sit around and waste my time all day. That happened once again on April 25, 2025.
So today UPS leaves a notice on my front door that they had come to make a pickup of the parts that they had delivered to fix my machine (they couldn't get them all despite their assurance to the repairman that they had all of them). No notice that they were coming of course. I was taking an afternoon nap and they left a notice on my front door. I took the parts down to UPS and they wouldn't accept them because I had no mailing labels. Sears had never gave me call or sent me a notice that the pickup would be made today and a mailing label or the address to put on a mailing label.
Now Sears has sent me an e-mail that a have a new delivery date of June 20, 2025 for my replacement washing machine. SEARS CALL THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE? No wonder Sears has all but gone out of business. I warn you to avoid Sears at all costs. Go with anybody else. Their warranties used to be the gold standard. These aren't.

Unfortunately we were charged for the parts and repair $614.00. A new date was scheduled, but it was a no show. Another date was scheduled, no show, they claim there was no repair person in the area to fix the snowblower, then communication just stopped. I called to find out where the parts were that were ordered and paid for.. They had to reorder, since no one seemed to know where they were. The technician apparently had them. Wrong again. I finally got 2 parts shipped to my home. The carburetor was shipped to a warehouse and the technician was to pick it up.
I had the confirmation that it was delivered to Joe. No one seemed to know anything. I then demanded my money back. I have called 6 times since Feb. All with the same answer. The return is pending, they can only communicate through email. I am beyond upset and will now report to the BBB, FTC, the bank and everyone that is relevant. I have had work done with Sears before, was never a problem, so had high expectations that things would be fixed.. Not sure what happened, but they have turned into a business that I will never contact again.

I have had several home warranty companies. I have had Sears for nearly ten years on two houses in two different service areas.I only filed a handful of claims and each was handled horribly. First, they state that they have technicians in your service area, right? Nope, they are lying! I had ONE service call where they sub-contracted another company to come out, and that one took so long I ended up just buying a new appliance. They exercise fraud to induce people to enter into service contracts, and then they breach those contracts by not performing the work or denying the claim. In my case I have experienced both.
Most recently, I ended up having a claim denied which definitely should have been paid. They operate in BAD FAITH. They are almost as bad as Choice. I am not litigious, but I will gladly enter into litigation with them because they are getting away with murder by not paying claims. Avoid at all costs unless you want to find your own contractor, get the claim denied, and end up paying for the entire thing PLUS have the headache of paying 75 bucks a month for nothing.

You have scheduled installation three times and cancelled three times. The customer services reps (Alina, Diego, Reyzel, Angel, Joshua, Jefh, Pablo, Maggie and supervisors Esa, Kim and Iza} have all given us different stories of why the installation services had been cancelled. Supervisor Esa told us back in March that a case manager had been assigned who will call us within 24 to 48 hours (still have not received that call). Then Supervisor Kim on 14 April stated that our case had been elevated to priority and someone from intervention would call within 24 to 48 hours (no call), then supervisor Iza on 17 April stated that someone would call from intervention by 5pm EDT (NO CALL).
So now we receive this email requesting parts returned, WHAT THE HELL? Why can't Sears Home Services honor the contract that you entered with us to provide coverage on the covered appliances. You took our money but have not provided the services you agreed to provide and now you are asking for parts to be returned?

After several attempts, and more of my time handed over to Sears, I was able to crack the code to a number that gave me a foreigner. He apologized, and assured me the problem would be escalated to a smaller window the next morning.
Fast forward to me waiting the next morning with no notifications or tracking as he had assured me. I begin the journey of more calls, only to eventually be told by a foreigner that I had a window of 8 to 5. After I explained everything, we canceled that day's appointment and went back to the theory of the escalated shorter window of the following morning. Later that day I received a cancelation text at 1:35 pm to cancel that day's appointment, the one that the representative and I had already canceled in our conversation earlier that morning. Next morning, as I sit waiting for any notifications regarding the alleged appointment, nothing, except for texts and emails telling me that I have already passed my appointment for the previous day, and I should reschedule. They do not send a technician for a diagnostic visit. Instead, they ask you questions about your appliance and, based on your answers, they order the part(s) they think necessary for the repair. The parts are sent to your home address and the technician is scheduled a week or two later, when the parts should have arrived.
At their request, we had to cancel the given repair appointment the night before because the part(s) never arrived. When calling to reschedule, I was told I had to start all over again because the appointment had been cancelled. I was also reminded that I could be charged another $100 if the technician deemed this a new job! No one at the Sears Home Warranty knows where the parts that had been initially ordered are.
When you call their Home Service Provider telephone, the people you finally get to speak to simply relay information given to them. WHO gives them the information? These individuals are polite and patient but it is VERY difficult to understand them and asking them to repeat what they said does not always improve the communication. No one can commit to an appointment time (morning or afternoon) - when you finally get an appointment date you are expected to be home from 8:00 until 5:00 in the afternoon. My experience was a negative 100 out of 10!!! Absolute scam and rip off as other reviewers have stated. We got this "warranty" in August 2024. My oven went out right before Thanksgiving so we called for a repair 11/19/2024. They told me in December the part needed was discontinued so I would get escalated to get a replacement. I ordered my "new oven" 1/14/2025. I had a delivery scheduled twice (1/22 and 1/31). No delivery, no call to explain, no nothing. Now I did receive a call twice from the contractors that were to install my oven. Why you ask? Because they were told that my oven had been delivered on 1/22/2025. On 2/13/2025, I was told my order had been cancelled and I needed to get a new replacement waiver!!! This is after SEVERAL calls for an update on the oven!
I finally get in touch with someone in Florida (because all other services are outsourced, and you consistently have to repeat any issue you may be having) to assist with getting me the new waiver for the oven to order a second time. Again I was told the oven would be delivered 2/24 and 3/7 (after again no deliver and no call from Sears as to why). After four months without an oven and a HORRIBLE customer service experience trying to get the replacement that was promised, I decided I would just cancel my warranty and find a more reliable company. Why in the world did the agent tell me "I should just wait because I have had this much skin in the game" AND "they have a 97% success rate with customers"?!?! I was also told because I had an order (the oven I never received), I had to wait 72 hours before I could cancel!!
I was finally able to cancel this "warranty" today! Please save yourself the headache and frustration and DO NOT get SCAMMED by this so called warranty company. 10 out of 10 would NEVER recommend!

Would give 0 Stars if possible. In short, AVOID!, AVOID! AVOID!. Our dryer quit working and we contacted Sears Home Services to come and evaluate the dryer. The technician arrived, recommended work and we paid for parts and labor that did not make the dryer functional. The technician then recommended purchasing another part, which we did, and he disappeared. He would not answer our calls. When we contacted Sears Home Services at their end they reported that the tech signed off the work and that it was completed. (Likely we were scammed into signing the work was done when he told us to sign for the part.) Fool me once it is on us. Don't let them fool you also.

1/31/24 ice maker dispenser replaced by Sears at cost of $597. Mid January not working, sent repair person out, charged us service fee of $129 said it was after 30 days and the problem was really in the ice maker which the part wasn't made anymore. On phone requested at least partial refund and was told to send the part back. Technician took the original part so we need this one until old one returned. Told we would hear in 7 business days. Called them again 3/7/25 told they would mark the request as expedited and we would hear in 3 business days. No response
Called on 3/7/25. First call no answer. Second one directed to AI which said couldn't handle refunds, call the number I was currently using. Called again, someone picked up then promptly hung up. First technician did not fix the problem but we paid $597. Second technician said past 30 days and we needed a part no longer made, couldn't help with cost. Sears can do a much better job - asking to at a minimum negotiate the over $700 we paid for repair they recommended and still not working.

Our Samsung refrigerator stopped working (inside of the refrigerator and freezer became warm). We contacted a Sears technician on January 7, 2025, who came out and troubleshot the problem and determined that the capacitor has gone bad. The technician offered a Sears Home Services warranty, which my husband promptly agreed to, enrolled in, and made 3 payments, so far (against my better judgment). The technician ordered the parts in the amount of $321.06 and they have arrived.
However, the problem is that the technician has repeatedly scheduled, cancelled, and rescheduling a repair appointment since the parts arrived. The technician continued with the behavior of scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling a repair appointment. The technician rescheduled a repair appointment for February 10, 2025 and then rescheduled the appointment again on February 11, 2025 with no time frame listed in the notification. Then, the technician was a no-show on February 11, 2025.
Then, today, February 12, 2025, we received a notification email stating that "This is Sears Home Services reaching out as we noticed your service request date has already passed and wanted us to reschedule the appointment. Our refrigerator has not worked for over month, the technician scheduled repair appointments, promptly rescheduled, or cancelled, and then rescheduled another appointment repeatedly. And, after the technician was a no-show, Sears Home Services has the audacity to send us a notification to reschedule an appointment with a technician. We have not been able to use our refrigerator for over a month and want it to be repaired right away. Not sure where we will go from here. My recommendation is to stay away from Sears Home Services because, in my opinion, they are a failure at providing service. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I purchased a dishwasher from Sears just under 5 years ago, with a 5 year warranty. The dishwasher began leaking, and caused damage to the carpet in my living room. I called for service, and technician came out and, as usual, had to order parts, leading to a 7 or 8 delay in a return visit. When technician returned, (not the same technician who came before) he said that the part he needed had not been ordered. That part arrived about a week later, and we had an appointment to have it installed and the repair completed.
On the day technician was to return, I received a text message saying that no technician was available, and they offered to schedule a return another week later. A week later, they sent a cancellation late in the afternoon, and scheduled a return on Feb. 10. About noon on Feb. 10, they cancelled for a third time, saying that they regretted that they had no technician to complete the repair, and offered a new appointment on Feb. 14, 15, or 17. There is no way to speak with a human in telephone communications, only through AI computers. I believe that they passed on me, a warranty repair, in favor of cash clients. I know why Sears is no longer in business.

This was followed by email telling me the expected arrival time and the technician would be calling. I was expecting this to be a productive appointment based on what I was told verbally and in writing.
I kept my phone at hand this Tuesday morning and next thing I see is a van sitting in front of my house. No texts, no phone call. The tech came in and determined he could not work on the dryer in its present location. My options were to set it out so he could work on it or he could bring a helper that I would have to pay for. My story - Double wall oven on a Sears Home Warranty. 15 months and still no oven.
2023Oct - Upper oven will not heat. Report problem.
Nov 13: Finally get tech visit. Orders heating element.
Nov 28: Tech visit. Can't troubleshoot because requires two techs and only one showed.
2024Jan 18, Feb 2, Feb 26, Mar 12: Two techs show up and parts don't fix it. Order control board. Wait for replacement but not available. Techs return and remove control panel, send it off to get repaired. Control panel eventually comes back, schedule techs to install and when they do nothing works.
March - Submit request for replacement oven. Long wait. Eventually approved but not full replacement cost. Order must go through Sears.com but only two choices of correct size, one in black and one in stainless steel. All of our kitchen appliances are black so only one choice. Order black oven.
October - After many phone calls having been told manufacturer has not been able to deliver the unit, told Sears is having technical problems and we need to reorder a different unit. During all this time Sears.com com has been advertising the unit we originally ordered. Eventually, get approval and order the more expensive stainless steel unit.
Dec - Multiple calls and same problems getting the stainless unit. Are again told to reorder. With only the same two choices available, one in black and one in stainless. Decide to give the black unit another try since the stainless is not happening.
Dec 19 - Black unit shows up at our house. All previous efforts the unit was going to a warehouse and the techs would bring it when they plan to install it. We now have a unit and are not letting it out of our sight.
October - Tried to cancel warranty after a year of this nonsense and told couldn't because I had open ticket. Need to keep paying monthly fee if I ever want to see an oven even though I have an open, approved replacement order. Switched credit card on file to one I don't use anymore and then cancelled the card. Lots of reminders to keep paying but replacement order still effective.
2025Jan 14 - Third scheduled visit the techs manage to show up. They unbox new unit and find it was damaged, likely in shipping. Report problem and over two weeks later we are still awaiting approval for an exchange order. System is unable to handle exchange orders and they have to manually process it. I'm told it will take 2 weeks. Now over 2 weeks and they started a new exchange order. Told it will take 2 more weeks.

Updated on 03/19/2025: Short story: it took 3 months to replace a defective washer that could not be repaired AND we were unable to replace it with a similar washer. Customer service was awful, several agents gave us incorrect information, and Sears' inventory for warranty replacement is poor. Longer story. Recently, our washer failed. Sears service came out, saw the washer, diagnosed the problem, and ordered the repair part. Part never came and is not available. It took me over a month to convince Sears to recognize that no part was available.
Then it took another two months to find that replacement appliances were not generally available from Sears. The Sears website features a number of items that are out of stock - no idea when they'll be in - and items sold by Sears 'partners,' which aren't available as warranty replacements. Three months in, we still do not have a replacement washer. And we have a similar story with a refrigerator ice-maker. Took months to fix. We're going elsewhere. Sears no longer lives up to its name.
Original: Sears has lost its edge and no longer backs up its agreements. Technicians vary in quality from pretty good to total waste of time. They resist replacing unrepairable appliances as their agreements promise. I’m now two months of calling to get a washer replaced they could not repair under the agreement. Every call gets a runaround, asks me to wait another 3-5 days. I was a happy customer for years and am now looking to drop them, and can no longer recommend Sears Home Services to anyone.

I had forgotten to remove the cap on the filter so it wouldn't seat properly. Operator error. He fixed it, took him less than 10 minutes. Charged $350 which I thought was exorbitant for what was a minor fix without need for parts and less than 15 minutes labor. Tech said Sears has set price for service calls so it's not based on actual service performed but some algorithm Sears has come up with. I wouldn't have Sears out again for any of my appliance repairs and wouldn't recommend them for this reason.

1. By 1/2 I will receive an email with selected replacement. 2. I will authorize. 3. They will send coupon code. 4. I will then go online and use coupon code to order the selected washer.
1/3/2025 - I called because I had heard nothing. I was transferred to the Replacement team. Re-escalated. I could not talk to anyone higher or a manager or anyone else. I was told if I don't hear anything by 1/9 to call again. "Sometimes it takes more than one re-escalation."
1/5/2025 - I called again because I was getting emails (2) asking me to confirm or cancel appt. There was no part so why was there an appt? I have another home warranty company that was only 30 days which you want something that's going be back up on their services. Sears home warranty services is the biggest in America, they have all the major cities etc when many are limited but it varies what companies offer in areas vs other areas that can't provide service. Some people have 2 home warranties because they know that home care cost are expensive so they want guaranteed service. I'm was thinking of having 2 at the same time too but right now I'll keep Seas as my main warranty company.
What like about Sears is, it's a old company and being a store customer I also depended Sears with almost everything in my house on appliances etc but when I called them when the needed them they come out. One time I needed a lot of electrical work done and it took a couple weeks to get an electrician out here but when they did come, boy they came in a huge electrical truck, 2 electricians and spent the whole day fixing everything, I was completely satisfied but more so I really got my money's worth. Anytime one of my appliances goes, I have them here the next day, it's effective for me.
Anyway I am a actual customer, I've never worked for Sears but I know people have complained about them but actually everybody came complains on all home warranty companies, none of them are perfect so that said Sears is available in my area so I'm going to stay with them. The pictures provided are Sears appliance people fixing my microwave last week and too, this microwave was a Sears replacement too, when I needed a new microwave, Sears said, "Here you go." I want to preface this complaint with the fact that I used Sears Home Services years ago, and got a diagnosis on the first trip, even though the diagnosis was that it was not worth fixing my 2 year old washing machine. Since the beginning of December 2024, I have been trying to an issue with my refrigerator diagnosed by Sears Home Services. The issue: excessive frost on the refrigerator evaporator coil. The first time the technician came out, I paid the $129 diagnostic fee to find out what the issue was. The technician said he was not able to determine the problem, and left.
A few weeks later, I realized that was an unacceptable answer, and I called Sears Home Services back out and explained the situation. I even spoke to one of their virtual technicians, who seemed very knowledgeable, and helpful, and said the onsite technician should absolutely be able to diagnose the issue. For example: On the first visit, I asked the technician if he could determine if any power was going to the defrost coil. He said he could not, despite the virtual tech. Saying they can do that.
I then scheduled a follow up visit (free of charge) and asked to NOT send the same tech. as the first time. They did! This time, I told him to use his multi-meter to test for power, and he did find power to the heater coil, but then it would stop. He then said it could be the main control board, but wasn't sure. So, he texted another tech. who was supposedly an expert with GE. It was Christmas Eve, so the tech didn't respond, but the one at my home said he would get back to me with his answer. He of course never did. I should mention that prior to the second visit, there was a "no show" day where I waited the entire day and the tech. didn't show up, nor did he provide any text/email/phone updates! Given that I still didn't have an answer after two visits, I again called Sears to schedule another appointment for 12/26/24. I pleaded to not send the same tech., but that's who they scheduled.
I waited the entire day and no tech. showed again, with no email/text/phone updates. At this point, I requested a refund of my $129 diagnostic fee, and the operator said she would put the request in. I asked to speak to a manager, and she said that was not possible. So, at this point, I still have a broken refrigerator, and I'm out $129. Sears Home Services should be ashamed of this very unprofessional service, not to mention being extremely inconsiderate of the customer's time and the stress it puts them through.

But the parts would be shipped to us in a couple of days and he would be right back out. Several weeks went by, no parts no service. It's hard to get by for weeks without a refrigerator! We got parts from EBay, fixed it ourselves. Now they keep billing us for service and threatening to send it to collection. HORRIBLE SERVICE, fraudulent billing!

Sears Home Services serving Elizabeth City, NC: The scope of the original diagnosis changed from one part needed to two parts needed, thus affecting the total cost of initial repairs. The parts ordered arrived broken. The next scheduled repair date was cancelled then rescheduled for nearly two weeks later. I had to change that to three days sooner because we had already made plans to be away for the holidays. The follow-up service required the replacement of a third part that, if initially checked, may have been the root cause of the problem. Therefore I do not trust the original diagnosis for which I had already paid in full. Overall, going through Sears Home Maintenance was a mistake and was unsatisfactory.
After today’s service the original problem has not been resolved and our GE dryer does not work at all. I have instructed my bank to dispute the charge for the full amount. I have also called the local service technician/contractor to ask him to return with urgency to complete the job. Avoid this service company! It has cost us over $437.00 and still no working dryer!

Not at all recommended; this company is a fraud! My dishwasher has not worked for a month now and the company is delaying getting me a replacement since parts needed to fix it are not available any longer. Technician came within a few days to look at it, but merely reset it (and charged me my $100 deductible to do so). However, it did not fix it, so he ordered the necessary parts which are nowhere to be found. Will not only cancel my warranty, but also challenge the credit card payments made the last 9 months. Maybe the worse part about it is that you can never talk to anyone from Sears, but rather, you talk to a foreign call center. Buyer beware!

I purchased a Kenmore refrigerator in 2021 from Sears, I've purchased appliances from sears many of years. I've had problems with appliances in the past and my repairs was made quickly with no problems, this is why I can't understand what the problem is currently with the repair to my refrigerator now when I call sears, I get the pass the buck to whoever can tell the believable truth of uncertainty. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from using sears. I used sears because my parents were loyal customers, and my dad worked for sears for many years, so my parents taught me about sears as a young man to teach my children but, I respectfully chose not to.
I don't appreciate being lied to over and over and sears not honoring the warranty that I paid for. They are not the sears that I've grown to know from back in the 70's. I suggest that you look at the rating for sears1 star out of 5 stars again I'm not trying to discourage anyone with this review beware that this is not the sears that we were watching the commercials of sears in America. I will never shop sears again and I did away with my sears credit card that I had for years.
