What a complete waste of two days. On June 30, I was given a four-hour service window from 1:00–5:00 p.m. I left work early to be home by 12:45 p.m., only to receive a text at 1:00 p.m. saying they couldn’t make it and would need to reschedule. My appointment was then moved to July 1 with a service window of 12:00–5:00 p.m. At 1:55 p.m., I received a text saying the technician was on the way. Then, at 3:03 p.m., I received another text saying they couldn’t make it after all. That’s two days of taking time away from work for absolutely nothing. The lack of communication and disregard for customers’ time is unacceptable. This was some of the poorest customer service I’ve experienced. Save yourself the time and frustration and look elsewhere. They will never receive my business again.

**Terrible Experience with Choice Home Warranty & Sears** I filed an AC repair claim on **June 19** through Choice Home Warranty. A Sears technician came on **June 24** but couldn't do the job because he didn't bring a ladder. He said the next technician would come prepared. The second technician arrived on **June 30**—again **without a ladder**. We even offered our own ladder, but he refused to use it and rescheduled the appointment to **July 7**. I've now been without AC for nearly three weeks in the South Florida heat, not because of the repair itself, but because technicians repeatedly arrived unprepared. To make matters worse, Sears offers no way to speak with a live customer representative—only a chatbot that cannot handle situations like this. This has been a frustrating and unacceptable experience. Poor coordination, repeated delays, and no customer support. I would not recommend this service.

If you don’t want get fleeced, DO NOT use these people. The technicians are wonderful, but the billing is atrocious. I needed a new gasket for my freezer drawer and the cost of the gasket from LG is $85.94; Sears charged me $157.90. The worst part, is the technician was at my house for 15 minutes total. He pulled the old gasket out and snapped the new one in. For this, I got charged $319.95 for labor. He accomplished this in less than 5 minutes. I realized that I am a female and they took full advantage of that. So, buyer beware. These are not honest people.

Sears services screwed us over in the most annoying way possible. They were scheduled to look at our HVAC system through our home warranty and because the technician didn’t have a ladder ready, we have been rescheduled for another two weeks out. I get a call from the technician and we come to find out that he doesn’t have a ladder (which he will need to access part of our HVAC unit in the attic). Upon realizing this I am told that they will have to reschedule the appointment. I tried my absolute hardest to prevent this from happening, including offering to go to Home Depot and buy my own ladder for them to use. I was told that it’s a liability issue and that since he didn’t have the ladder ready today, we had to reschedule the appointment. This was a no fault of ours, it was genuinely just lack of preparation on their part and we are now being forced to wait another 2 weeks for a new appointment.

For context, we’ve already been waiting a week and a half for this appointment and now we have to wait another two weeks with no AC in June in South Carolina. Because the technician was not prepared for this appointment we are having to deal with the consequences. I tried to call their number and get a hold of someone to resolve this, but was only able to get a hold of an AI bot and not an actual person. After complaining repeatedly to the technician, he said he’d have his manager call me which never happened. I really don’t think they give a shit about us waiting, and showed no professionalism, customer service skills, or desire to fix that why did wrong. I’d rather give my dog a wrench and ask him to look at the unit before calling Sears as he would become more prepared.

However an electrician came and determined the problem and has been communicating via email stating the parts needed came in wrong and a new parts ordered. The electrician has sent emails back-and-forth to us however now he is no longer communicating and when we finally got a hold of Sears, they informed us that they had closed our file in January 2026. I have had a contract with Sears Home Services for many years and have only used them a few times. It is impossible to speak to a real person. I've tried for several hours. Our Kenmore refrigerator stopped working. I scheduled an appointment for a technician to come out and paid the $100 deductible. I couldn't get an appointment for 4 days and they gave me a window of 8 to 5 for the technician to arrive, explaining in an email that the day before, I would get an update with a narrower time window.

No update and no way to check on it. Of course, no technician showed up and at the end of the window, I received an email saying that I would have to reschedule - no explanation and no apology. I rescheduled the appointment and the soonest I could get a technician out was 27 days since my original call. We've had to purchase a 2nd hand refrigerator in the meantime. I will be ending our contract as soon as we get a technician out and get this resolved. BTW, the lowest rating I can give them is 1 star, but they don't deserve that.

At around 4 pm I began calling and of course there is nobody to speak to, other than reschedule option. I then went to the website for a live agent who said, "Sorry, your next appt. is June 25 or in July." Absolute horrible service. I would not recommend them whatsoever.

My Sears Kenmore clothes dryer was making a terrible noise. I contacted Sears Home Repair and they sent a technician out three days later to diagnose the issue. He said if I paid for the service labor and part up front, Sears would waive my fee for his diagnostic visit. I paid, he ordered the part and scheduled a repair visit for three days later. The part arrived, but the technician was a no show for that repair visit and two more, all of them scheduled through Sears automated customer service system who sent repeated texts reminding me of each date and time of the repair visits.

I called, emailed and texted about the no shows. All of their contact info is on an automated system. I finally found an email on a Reddit thread devoted to Sears Home Repair complaints. They agreed to cancel the repair and reimburse for the part if I returned it at my own cost. When I checked the cost for the part on the website for the company that sent it, I discovered Sears charged me twice as much for the part is was priced on the website. Despite repeated emails to them stating that I should not have to pay the diagnostic fee because their waiver of that fee was predicated on a written agreement that if I paid in full they would waive the fee and deliver the repair service.

I had a repair done on April 20 on my Kenmore washer. This repair cost me $450 to replace the water pump. This repair was done by Mitch 2931. Around June 1, when I was manually draining excess water as per the front loader instructions, I discovered that the water wouldn’t drain through the tube. When I removed the filter, water drained everywhere, leaking water on my wood stand and floor, not to mention the water sipping inside the washer, which I’m unable to get to.

I noticed Sears, but they are charging me another service fee $129.00 since it was over 30 days. I have attempted to call but get AI, and I’m not allowed to speak with anyone. Finally, I started randomly failing numbers and got a Aneki and he gave me his number of 800-469-7499 ext 2. He told me that the Dispatching dept would contact me in 24 hours.

It’s been over 96 hours, and I haven’t heard from anyone. When I try to call Aneki’ s number he gave me, it says not a working number. I try other numbers and can’t talk to a person. I’m 73 years old live on a fixed income and don’t have a lot of resources and so SEARS, this is how you treat your customers, shame on you. A WARNING to everyone, do not purchase SEARS appliances or use their repairman, especially Mitch ** who serves Muskogee and Eufaula, Oklahoma area.

Updated on 07/16/2026: Avoid this service at all cost. No humans--you can only talk to Bots. Service was No Show on the first appointment, although assigned technician forged a "Service Completed" document and then forged my signature. A senior technician showed up on the second visit, diagnosed my fridge problem (compression which also needed a new compatible mother board and one more part). Parts ordered and delivered 3 days later to my doorstep.

Now, the problem is the Sears computer shows the supplier not shipping two of the three parts and thus, my appointments keep getting canceled. When I talk to Samantha (the AI Bot), she says she'll take care of it but then she doesn't. Now she says she has no control of changing the Sears computers to show I have the parts. and Samantha says, "There are no human beings on this line," or any other line I call. So ... hell will freeze over before I get the fridge fixed. I'm calling a private company to install the parts and then cancelling my contract. See all the other One-Star Reviews with the same problems. Of course, Sears Protect won't publish this if this is a Sear Protect site. Or .... maybe it will get through the Bots.

Original Review: I was given a window for today of 8 AM to 5 PM. Then it was 10 to 12. Then 1 to 3. Somebody texted at 11:45, "You're my next stop. Should be there within 45 minutes." Still nobody. Called the company and kept getting Samantha, the AI Bot. She would not tell me what had happened and said just wait until 5 and if no show, call her. Finally got a human on phone after 5 PM using one of about 7 numbers I have for the company. They were more inanimate than Samantha. What happened did not phase the 2 people I talked with. They just wanted to make another appt for me. Then I got an e-mail with a forged work order attached stating job done and using 2 vertical lines as my signature. All I can say is WOW. And I put myself on Autopay. Have to find a BOT to reverse that ASAP. Wish me luck.

Part came in about 3 days later. On day of scheduled service no tech shows up. No texts. No emails or so we thought. Check spam and there is an email stating part not delivered, so appt rescheduled. We have contacted Sears numerous times via phone and online to tell them part has arrived. Yet they keep rescheduling because part hasn’t arrived. It’s sitting on my kitchen table. Today was supposed to be the day tech comes to install the motor. Just received an email not coming because part has not been delivered. WTF! Biggest issue is cannot speak to a human. Have tried all sorts of phone numbers to try to speak with a human, nothing. We play their game. Confirm we have part at website, via email (which brings us to online) and via the many phone numbers. Tired of playing these games. Now we’re trying to figure out how to return the ‘part that never arrived but is sitting on my kitchen table’. This should be fun! Caveat emptor.

We have an oven that stopped with an error code that indicated that a specific part assembly had failed. The "helpful" AI insisted that things would be fixed faster with the error code information. I "assumed" that meant the tech would arrive for the first visit with the part already in his possession. After being rescheduled two times the technician arrived and basically laughed when asked if he had the part. "No, we don't carry parts, I'm just here to diagnose". What a load of manure from the AI. Of course the tech already had the error code but that didn't matter. He ordered the part and said he'd be back in a week. Of course the part came in but it's the wrong part.

The "helpful" AI is not programmed to handle anything like this so now we wait for the tech to come out (delayed three days already) and reorder the correct part. Never again. We've been loyal Sears customers since the late 70s, all our appliances were Kenmore and our tools were Craftsman. We had protection agreements for all our stuff but we're letting them lapse now. Seems that with the Internet I can diagnose problems, purchase parts on Amazon and replace them for very little money and only within a couple of days rather than the weeks it takes Sears Home Services. One more thing, our tech said that the employees have to deal with the AI too. Because of that 20 of the older techs quit and that's just in the Tucson area.

I am extremely dissatisfied with Sears appliance service. A technician came out twice to repair my washing machine. Parts were ordered and delivered to my home, but instead of completing the repair properly, the technician took the parts with him and reportedly sent them back to Sears. Despite this, I was still charged for those parts through my bank and have not been properly reimbursed. The service itself was completely unprofessional. The technician's assistant appeared to smell strongly of alcohol and behaved in an unprofessional manner throughout the visit. The entire experience left me with very little confidence in Sears' service department.

Between the poor communication, mishandling of parts, billing issues, and unprofessional conduct of the service team, this has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I hate that I had to give them a star before writing a review. They don’t deserve any stars. I ordered a home repair for my rider mower. They took my money but refused to show up to do the work. Every week, their AI agent gives me a new date to start work and every week they cancel because the parts weren’t received. The parts were received by me three weeks ago. I’ve called at least a dozen times to inform them I have the parts. They don’t have what they refer to as live agents, they only have virtual agents. It’s like trying to talk to a piece of rope.

I have had the Sears maintenance plan for over 30 years and never really utilized it until recently. I have been trying to get my washing machine fixed through Sears for three months now. I scheduled an appointment. They never showed up. I tried to call to find out why that’s all I could get was an AI robot. Finally after trying for days I got a live person. The technician is out of New York. They send someone out to diagnose the problem. Then they have to order the part and like apparently there’s someone in Connecticut. It’s been three weeks now since the problem was diagnosed. I haven’t heard a word, called back. Got the AI system, kept trying for days. Finally got a live person. She escalated the problem to a higher level and said someone would get back to me within 24 hours. That hasn’t happened. This is the worst service. Please do not get Sears.

Warning! Sears Service sends incompetent repairmen and is a complete scam run by an overseas scheduling and repair care team. After 3 terrifying hours, the Sears serviceman would not leave until I paid via credit card for an overcharged service fee of 400 for simple maintenance! This is without all confirmation of charges..he just made it up!. Two hours being conned into signing up for the Sears Protect home warranty plan of 700 dollars per year to save 50% off his overrated 400 dollar fee... Which was also not the truth. He refused to leave my home until I paid without an invoice! Alone, afraid to call the police...

Overview of events: A Sears appliance Service Call was requested. The serviceman was incompetent... He had to look up in his van how to place a plastic part back onto my refrigerator drawer. No parts or repairs were required... A maintenance at best. This was not what I expected, unlike in my 40 years of home appliance repairs! Usually, they check your refrigerator before starting the service..He just did what I showed him!. His main objective appeared to be a setup, a con to sign up for the Warranty. I could never trust Sears to enter my home again. Buyer Beware

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and urgent concern regarding the ongoing service request for my broken washing machine. [If you have a Service Request Number, please insert it here, e.g., "Reference Service Request Number: 123456"]. Following my initial service request, a technician promptly visited on [Date of initial visit, if known] and correctly identified the necessary part for the repair. I was initially encouraged by the efficiency, as the required component arrived within a couple of days, leading me to believe a swift resolution was imminent.

However, the process has since encountered a critical breakdown. Despite receiving the part, your computer system has failed to recognize its delivery, preventing me from scheduling the crucial follow-up repair. I have made numerous attempts to rectify this systemic error through various channels: I tried to update the status via your online portal, but it repeatedly showed the part as pending. I placed multiple phone calls to your customer service, only to be informed that the status could not be manually updated to reflect the part's arrival. Even interactions with your virtual assistant proved fruitless, confirming the inability to override the incorrect system status.

As a result of this persistent system failure, I have been forced to accept a repair appointment that is now scheduled for six weeks after my initial service request. Furthermore, the earliest available appointment from today’s date is still an additional four weeks away. Being without a functional washing machine for such an extended period is completely unacceptable and causes significant disruption to my household.

This experience has severely eroded my confidence in the warranty service I purchased, leading me to believe it is a considerable waste of both money and time when the fundamental process of securing a repair is so profoundly flawed. I demand an immediate and expedited resolution to this issue. I expect an alternative arrangement to be made for my washing machine to be repaired significantly sooner than the currently proposed four-week waiting period. Please escalate this matter and provide a concrete plan to rectify this unacceptable delay without further inconvenience to me.

I called for repair on 05/20/26 and couldn’t not talk to agent, but with lots of effort made an appointment, and also got an email that stated I have no payment for labor or parts, but close to the time of Tech arrival, I had a computerized call demanding $115 extra on top of my full guarantee of service for parts and labor.

Several appointments and only 1 of 6 service techs would even have the real skills to perform the proper repairs. They never have part with them so a 2nd visit needs to happen 90% of the time. Urgent Request - Immediate Attention Requested - To the Attention of Sears Protect Escalation Team, I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Sears Home Warranty/Protect Home Warranty over the past six months. The situation has continued to worsen with each new incident. Despite maintaining an active protection plan and scheduling multiple service appointments, technicians repeatedly failed to show up, with little to no communication or follow-up. Most frustrating was the false AI-generated update on 3/23/26 stating, “The Service Order has been completed” for my Cooling Tune-Up appointment. I waited at home from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, lost an entire day of work, and incurred over $800 in lost pay—yet no technician ever arrived.

I spent significant time trying to contact customer service without any meaningful resolution. This pattern of poor service is unacceptable and should never happen repeatedly. Additionally, the so-called AI assistant “Samantha” has been extremely frustrating, repeatedly preventing me from speaking with a live agent. I left three voicemail messages, sent two escalation emails, and specifically requested assistance from Ms. **, who was very responsive in December. Unfortunately, no one has contacted me.

Now, my AC unit is no longer functioning, likely because the preventive maintenance service I requested in March was never completed. I am requesting an immediate call from senior management to address this matter and provide a resolution as soon as possible. As my laundry piled up, I was anxiously waiting for my appointment. Finally, a repairman came, and he seemed to be having trouble figuring out the problem. He made a call, and a second man showed up to help. After an hour, they said they had to order a mother board and another part. They said it should arrive in about 48 hours, and I could call to schedule a return appointment. When I checked the status of my repair online, it said the parts hadn’t arrived. Today, after a week, I called and managed to get a live person after multiple calls arguing and screaming at the AI assistants. The person I spoke to said there was no record of anyone ever being at our house, WHAT? Who were those men who struggled to fix my washer?

I was transferred to two other people, and both said there was no service appointment, and there was no record that anyone ever came to my house. I asked who sent me the text messages and emails asking for the model number, one confirming my appointment time, another reminding me a serviceman was coming and finally the message that said he was on his way. The response—we have no record of anyone ever being there. What was it a rogue AI assistant? After asking more questions they couldn’t answer, they said they could get a repairman out tomorrow. I accepted the appointment, but I still wasn’t given any explanation about the two clueless men who spent an hour at my house last week working on my Kenmore washing machine.

The fourth appointment the technician came out and told me this new part would be an additional 600+ dollars bringing my total amount to almost $1000 to fix the washing machine. I declined and said I could put that money towards a new washing machine, especially if I had known that with the first appointment. I’m having a terrible experience with Sears Home Services. I have a 2.5-year-old Whirlpool microwave/oven wall combo. The microwave started making noise and showing a flashing light near the bottom waveguide. I scheduled a diagnosis appointment that cost $250. One technician came, briefly looked at it, and—without performing any real tests or detailed diagnosis—immediately concluded that the magnetron needed to be replaced. He said it was a two-person job and estimated about $150 for the part and $100 for the second technician, which I initially accepted.

Since then, Sears has scheduled four repair visits. Every single time, only one technician showed up, despite repeatedly stating it was a two-person job. On the latest visit, it was the same technician who did the original “diagnosis,” and he actually asked us to describe the problem again. Shouldn’t there be notes from the first visit—especially when they charged $250 for a diagnostic visit?

The same technician who insisted it was a two-person job then tried to proceed alone, getting his tools ready. I told him I was not comfortable with that, both for his safety and to avoid any damage to the cabinet or floors. He admitted that our case was already flagged in their system as multiple failed repair attempts and said he “couldn’t afford” another failure.

When I reiterated that I only wanted the work done with the proper two-person team, he became frustrated and offered to refund the magnetron part cost and the helper fee instead. He also admitted he wasn’t sure replacing the magnetron would even fix the issue—and if they installed it and it didn’t work, I would not get any refund including the $150 part because it would be considered “used.”

    This raises serious questions:
    • Why are you replacing a major part without any proper testing or diagnosis to confirm it’s defective or that it’s the only issue?
    • Why charge $250 for a “diagnostic” visit when no meaningful diagnosis is actually performed?

    • Why repeatedly schedule a two-person job and send only one technician every time?

Overall, I feel misled, overcharged, and left with an unresolved problem. I would strongly reconsider using Sears Home Services for any future repairs.

He scheduled the repair for April 23, 8-5 time frame. On April 21, a package was delivered to the house. It was the repair part. This surprised us because we assumed it would be delivered to Sears Home Services. April 22, in the afternoon, we get email a text updates that our appointment for 4/23 would be rescheduled for 4/30 BECAUSE THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED THE PART!!

I immediately began trying to communicate with AI “Samantha” that the part was at my house and to keep the appointment for 4/23. After many attempts of trying to get this understood and being told “no live customer service available “, AI finally said she understood the part was at our house and appt would be 4/30 and would not be there 4/23 as scheduled even though I was telling them this on 4/22…they still canceled the appt on 4/23. Then comes 4/30 and the text updates and tracking indicates the repairman will be there approximately 10, then an update about a delay and would be around noon. Then an update that it looked like would not be there at all, but would let me know by 3 pm for sure. Then at approximately 1:30, update says won’t be here at all (4/30) and gave me 3 choices of Thursdays in May. This entire communication was AI GENERATED.

I did everything possible to convey to AI that I wanted a live agent or an email that was monitored by a live agent. Finally AI told me “we understand your frustration and a you will be connected to a live agent shortly.” That was yesterday and no live agent reached out. AI reached out again by phone and emails with 3 options for May service dates.

I kept saying sooner than May 7 please. I was told May 7 earliest. So it’s 2 weeks and 1 day since I paid almost $800, and no repair and have no idea if I will be put through this same torture in a week on May 7. And of course it is another 8 am - 5 pm time frame and someone must be home waiting. So I will be spending a 3rd Thursday in a row waiting. And all because they delivered the part to me and they did not reach out by any means on 4/22 to see if by chance the part had been delivered to my house. If they had done that OR IF a live agent (not AI) had answered my calls and texts on 4/22 in response to “THE PART IS HERE. DON’T CANCEL!”, my stove just might have been fixed on 4/23.

Assuming I didn’t get the continued “sorry our repair tech is being delayed“ updates like I did yesterday 4/30!!! I would NEVER RECOMMEND this company. It is a Bosch dual fuel stove and our local repair guy was not Bosch certified and unsure he could guarantee what the error code was. He gave me Sears Home Services suggested since he says one of their vans occasionally in our small town. I cannot tell you how frustrating this has been. And AI doesn’t help. He did not fix a thing and was there for 10-13 min. Beware of using this service. It’s a scam. I scammed out of $129. I tried to call for my refund but they tried to charge me $5 to talk to a technician about it. To charge me to get my refund is another scam. So yeah, DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE, if your appliances need repair.

I moved from Cinch to Sears because cinch could never find a technician in a reasonable time. Went with sears because the techs are sears employees. And my experience getting a tech to come was much better. But their back end systems and web portal suck. Limited options to talk about your claim; the chat bot only has five categories with canned responses. On my most recent claim it took three calls to get a proper diagnosis. I ended up paying the diag fee twice because their system had no record of the first call. On the third call the tech ordered the required part. Part arrived quickly, but was not the correct part. I knew it when it arrived I can tell the difference between a belt and a pump. This was five days before the scheduled install of the pump so I tried to alert them that the wrong part arrived. Used their portal, thier sms system and the chat bot. There was no way to talk to a human and get this corrected.

I found one of the tech’s personal mobile number in my call logs and reached out to him but he warned me there was little to nothing he could do in their system. Their techs can’t even engage their system on a claim. He was the only human I could get to. The portal even switched my appliance from GE to Whirlpool for no reason. I liked their techs, but thier backend system negates even the best. Gonna buy a new washing machine and drop this contract. Doubt I will ever pay for another home warranty program from anyone.

Sears (aka Cinch) Home Services came out to check my water heater working properly. The technician had no tools other than a cell phone. He looked at it, held the hot water outlet which was warm, and then checked the temperature setting while I was looking for a screw driver to remove the top cover plate. I said top plate because the water heater has two heating elements and one can work while the other does not. I asked if he checked the lower heating element and he told me that there was only one in this unit. The unit is 8 years old and I have physically watched the last repair plumber check both and replaced them because it was not working and they usually fail at about the same time so he replaced both.

This plumber was hired and paid by me because Sears (aka Cinch) Home services could not get a plumber to come out to fix the hot water heater. I had it repaired, paid for it and submitted the bill which we fought about for months before Sears paid me back. I talked to the technician's boss and he told me this guy was a "master" plumber. Then he should know there can be two heating elements and the two cover plates on the front of the heater would have been a clue. So he reported the water heater was functioning mechanically so nothing was wrong.

A water heater with a bad top heating element just does not get the water hot enough while a bad lower heating element just runs out of hot water much faster than normal. Also, if you let a water heater sit unused for hours, you will get hot water for a short time because it rises to the top of the water tank. So Sears decided my water heater was working fine mechanically. I am sure I will have to hire my own plumber to check it out and fix what is broken - which reflects the way that Sears (aka Cinch) Home Services works.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer from Sears about 10 years ago and have maintained a Maintenance Protection Agreement on both appliances since the day I bought them. I also schedule the recommended annual preventive maintenance every year to keep the machines in good working condition. In February of this year, I began noticing water occasionally appearing in the washer even when it wasn’t running, though the machine was otherwise operable. I called for service on February 22 and was given an appointment for March 6, 2026. That appointment was rescheduled twice without any notification — I only discovered the changes when I called the repair number to check the status.

A technician finally arrived on March 14, diagnosed a faulty valve, and ordered a part with the expectation that installation would occur on March 18. A different technician arrived that day, installed the part, and said the machine was repaired. However, within one hour of trying to do a load of laundry, the washer would not fill with water and would not agitate. The repair made the machine completely inoperable.

I called immediately and was told a technician would come the next day, March 19. That tech arrived, retrieved an error code, and appeared unsure of the issue — repeatedly consulting a handheld device. He eventually said another part was needed and that it would be installed on April 1. The part arrived on March 20.

Then on March 28, I received an email asking about the status of the part — only to discover, when I called, that I had no open repair order and no appointment scheduled at all. They rescheduled me for March 30, between 8–5, so I took off work. After waiting all day, I received an email at 4:30 pm stating the repair had been rescheduled to March 31.

On March 31, I again waited the entire day while receiving multiple changing “estimated arrival” emails. At 5 pm I checked my email and saw that it claimed I had requested a reschedule to April 6 — something I absolutely did not do. I contacted the scheduling system and, after expressing frustration to the AI agent, was finally given an appointment for April 1 from 8–5.

Throughout this entire process, there has been no reliable way to speak to a human being. No customer service phone number, no direct email, and nearly every point of contact routes to an AI system with no ability to escalate. I eventually found an online chat on the Sears Home Services website, where I was told my issue would be “escalated” and that I would “definitely” see a tech on April 1 — though at this point I have no confidence in that promise. I have now been without a washer for weeks, have taken time off work for appointments where no one showed up, and still have no clear communication or resolution. Meanwhile, I continue to receive calls from Sears offering to provide maintenance on all my appliances and home services. This experience has been unacceptable, and the lack of human customer service or reliable scheduling has made an already stressful situation far worse.

The annual price is outrageous and they claim to have all of these benefits, but fail to mention there’s a deductible for EVERY repair call and the “free” HVAC tune-ups are only available for a limited time each year. Their repair windows also change from when you schedule to when they send confirmation.

My washer needed repair so a tech came out. When he was testing to see if there was power to the circuit board, his meter leads touched and he blew the whole board (which was fine previously). He identified other issues, said it was going to be an expensive repair and he has to call his supervisor. The supervisor said they won’t cover it because we couldn’t find the serial # even though I bought the machine directly from Sears. The tech said to call customer service and left. I called 4 different numbers and they are all AI agents. You can’t talk to anyone. There’s no alternative number, no email, only chat bots and agents with limited options. Then they had the nerve to charge me a $100 deductible on top of the $877 cost of the “warranty”! This is nothing but an expensive scam. DO NOT get suckered into buying it.

We have a Sears Home Warranty policy and put in a request several weeks ago for a repair on our refrigerator. 3 times, after waiting at home 8am-5pm, I received a text saying they needed to reschedule. The repair person eventually showed up stating a lack of technicians caused the delay. The repair tech did not have the parts and so we had to schedule another day/time. A different tech came to the house and completed the repair. The technician caused damage to our refrigerator, dents and scratches to the front door of the fridge. He acknowledged the damage and put it in his notes. He indicated he had no choice because the "tool" he used caused the damage. I attempted to reach out to Sears and can only speak to an AI assistant. So totally frustrated! Our fridge is damaged. So mad!!!

Stay very far away from Sears Home Warranty repair service. If you have a Sears Home Warranty contract, CANCEL it now. Ten years ago it was OK, but now it is a joke. I called to schedule service on my dishwasher. I say "called" with a very strong qualification. In four weeks of dealing with Sears Home Warranty, I have NEVER been able to "speak" with a "live" person on the phone. A technician finally arrived a week later after my "call".. He arrived form a city 35 miles from my home, examined the dishwasher that had a problem, said he was ordering parts, and parts took another 10 days to get to my home. The service person was scheduled back yet another week later, and I have not seen him yet.

After another "chat" with yet another "AI" computer, they tell me he is now scheduled tomorrow...between 8 AM and 5 PM. I am not holding my breath. I've paid over $700 for the yearly contract and $100 in advance of the current service tech arrival. My wife and I have been hand washing dishes for three weeks. Sears Home Warranty "Service" is a huge rip off!

Sears Home Services broke me. I’m not being dramatic — they literally made me cry. We needed a basic dryer repair through our home warranty. Instead, Sears turned it into a month-long nightmare while I’ve been caring for a three-month-old baby and trying to keep up with laundry for a blue-collar husband coming home in filthy work clothes — with NO dryer. That includes dealing with constant baby blowouts, washing clothes, towels, and blankets around the clock, and then being forced to put my infant in crusty, air-dried clothes because Sears couldn’t get their act together. I contacted Sears at least two to three times every single week — sometimes more — desperately trying to move this along. They shipped parts to the wrong address, even though I updated the address before shipping. One agent confirmed it was fixed. The next agent said they can’t update addresses and told me to contact Speed Queen.

Speed Queen already had the correct address. Back to Sears. Over and over. Same loop. Same lies. After two weeks of waiting, the parts were finally reordered and were delivered TODAY to our correct address — yet Sears still claimed the technician did not have the correct address. How is it possible for parts to arrive at the correct address, but the technician somehow can’t find it? I confirmed our address with every single person I spoke to. Eleven Sears agents. Eight Speed Queen agents. Nineteen people and not one competent resolution. For the most recent appointment attempt today, I even put our correct address in the special notes section to make absolutely sure there was no confusion. They ignored it completely. On the day of my confirmed appointment, Sears told me I didn’t have an appointment, then said I did, then said the technician didn’t have the address, and then said it was my responsibility to fix it.

All of this happened through chat only, because Sears doesn’t even give customers the dignity of speaking to a human voice. Then — without my consent — Sears rescheduled my appointment THREE WEEKS OUT, despite earlier openings being available. No one called me. If they did, no voicemail was left. I had one missed call — when I called it back, it played hold music forever, with no indication of who was calling or how to reach an actual person. Only today, after all of this, I finally got a phone number for someone at Sears through chat. I texted the number to my husband immediately because we had to reach out yet again, while I stood there crying, holding my crying baby, after receiving the text message notifying me that my appointment had been rescheduled out to 03/19. The tears started coming the moment I read it.

I was escalated four times. No one ever followed up. No one ever called. No one ever took ownership. At this point, you are better off paying out of pocket to have your appliance repaired than using Sears Home Services through a warranty. The “coverage” is meaningless when it costs you weeks of stress, exhaustion, and emotional distress.

This company is disorganized, dishonest, and utterly heartless. Their systems are broken. Their agents contradict each other constantly. Customers have zero control, zero transparency, and zero support. If you’re a parent, a working family, or anyone who actually depends on functioning appliances — run far away from Sears Home Services. This wasn’t just bad service. It was emotionally draining, disrespectful, and unacceptable. I will never use this company again, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

Communication Breakdown: Customers report being transferred repeatedly, speaking with reps who can't help, and getting generic or AI-generated email responses, with supervisors rarely available.

Repair Delays & Parts: Ordering parts can take weeks or months, with inaccurate delivery estimates, prolonging appliance downtime.

We have been without a refrigerator since November. We had to buy a small garage fridge to hold us off. What you read about them on line is absolutely true. Our refrigerator is only 3 years old it came with the package when we built our new home. It just stop cooling, we had to give several of our neighbors our food so it wouldn’t spoil. There was no weekend emergency no.

We had a friend from out of town who used to do this kind of work tell us to look in the back and feel if it was hot. It was and he told us to unplug immediately because the new refrigerant that they use now is highly flammable. Thank goodness he helped us stop a potential fire. Sears finally comes out 2 weeks later and informed us it was the compressor and under GE and not warranty co.

Ok GE fixes it and a week later it was broken but now it was something else. Sears comes another couple of weeks and the guy looks at everything and says it’s the evaporator coils and can’t be fixed and it’s because it’s coming from the compressor. He tells us to refuse the parts because it’s not fixable, and that they would recommend replacement. He also recommended looking for one that doesn’t use refrigerant using 600. My husband then called the GE guy that Put in compressor and he says that the young guys are afraid to work with refrigerators with the 600 coolant because it’s flammable.

We call the warranty company on Monday and they have no record of what the tech said, they tell us no it has to be fixed! Now they have to order parts and wait until there’s a technician available. We finally get an appointment and it was scheduled for 8-5 on a Tuesday, updates via app were posted saying when to expect tech. By 6:30 it says you’re next by 8:00 pm no show.

We call next day try to reschedule and we get AI appointment from 12-5 but we’re not getting any updates. We call and get some a guy named Skyler who says there’s no appointment showing and did I mention we also had a part in our dishwasher that was scheduled to be replaced we got the part and the appointment for that a couple of weeks before. That was canceled because they didn’t have a technician in our area. He said he didn’t see the appointment made by AI and there wasn’t anything he could do. He said he could reschedule for the next day both services and by that time we were frustrated that communication between technicians and customers were non existent.

Skyler became unprofessional and decided to play a game and say that his applications just went down he got the dishwasher on the schedule but not the fridge. The dishwasher was working it just needed a small part! We needed the refrigerator desperately. My husband lost his job with the government and has been out of work for 7 months. We have wonderful friends giving us gift cards for groceries. We are not able to take advantage of any sale items we could freeze because they have not followed through. I would never want to deal with them again. So unprofessional, unreliable and lazy. Not one person there went above and beyond to help us. He set up for between 8 and noon. Well, no one showed up until after 4 and he didn’t have the part because he had no idea what the issue was. He did tell us that we would not be charged until the work was complete. Well we checked with our bank and we were charged last week. We will NEVER do business again with Sears!!!

My experience of this service was very negative. The price of parts and labor was highly inflated making the repairs not worth the cost. The high cost was then used as an incentive to buy a home warranty policy which was a dirty bait and switch. I held my nose and paid the obligatory $129 fee-what a waste of money and time!!!

Our initial appointment, from 8 am to 5 pm, the technician did not arrive. They had the courtesy to ‘make it up to us’ by scheduling another appointment a week later. Wow!! How generous. The technician showed up this time to determine the issue and ordered a part. He scheduled a third appointment YESTERDAY and failed to show up. His assistant from another location stopped by to say the technician would make it today and would ‘reschedule’. Umm, that’s not rescheduling that’s failing to show up!! Isn’t it great how you sit and wait ALL day only to not have them do scheduled work. Sears - you SUCK!!

I have read so many reviews that align with our experience with this company. If one star was an option I would select it! We simply had a suds code occasionally on our almost brand new whirlpool washer and reached out to Sears Home Improvement unfortunately to speak to Samantha their AI assistant. We got an 8 hour window for our diagnostic appointment and received a quote of 139 for that service. Upon arrival our service technician Scott diagnosed the issue with confidence and gave an updated estimate while confirming multiple times a total quote of 410 including the full diagnostic fee being applied to that leaving a remaining 270 and some change for the service when the part that conveniently had to be ordered came in.

I asked several times if I could get some time to speak with my significant other who works nights about scheduling and pricing but call back just to schedule the service. He confirmed that would be totally fine and collected payment before leaving. When we called back to schedule with “Samantha” the AI robot we were mistakenly scheduled for the same diagnostic service we had already received and after begging to be escalated to a live representative continued going around and around with the robot personnel. The next technician came out and also “diagnosed” we ended paying over 360 for that service because he assured us the part we needed and labor needed to be paid for in advance.

A final tech came out and ripped our washing machine apart finding yet another issue and struggling to take the components apart for hours. He explained that yet another part would be needed to solve the original issue and labor for that would need to be paid as well. When we explained that the original tech gave us an estimate in which we had already overpaid for and none of the diagnostic had gone towards yet, not to mention what he priced us out for that day we were told “he told you wrong.” I asked “what do I do with that and was referred to a multitude of automated service numbers and people who continually threw their hands up when I asked we be refunded since no work had been done no parts had been installed and our washer was left in pieces now unusable.

I cannot explain the frustration, grief and financial strain this company has caused especially around the holidays. All I have asked for is to speak with a human being so I can explain our situation and seek resolution, the final technician was very sympathetic and said we would receive a partial refund check in the mail (who knows?!) We will be making a report to the BBB but based on other reviews I can see that also being another dead end. Shame on Sears!!!! Will never recommend their services and will ensure they never could potentially do any repair work on our future appliances.

Our Thor cooktop - purchased at Lowe's March 2025 - had a few 'teething problems' from the word go, such as the unit not powering on after several attempts for a few minutes, and the largest burner simply not turning on a few times. May that zone stopped working altogether and the powering-up issue got worse. We had to reset our breakers a few times a week in order to get the unit to work (electrician checked - we definitely had enough power to handle this cooktop). Set up an appointment through their app and when a technician finally came by a few weeks later, he said "Just keep resetting the breakers". I told him that was an unacceptable solution (which it is). He reluctantly ordered a heating element for the non-working zone and said he'd be back in a couple of weeks. Of course it took ages as he was fired and SHS decided one instead of three techs for our region of the country was fine.

The next tech, a month later, said that part wasn't the problem - that the whole board needed to be replaced. So he said he'd order that. He came by a month later, according to this appointment he made (which was a reschedule - he got too busy, I guess), and of course the part wasn't there as he'd not ordered it after all, and had actually forgotten our issue until he arrived at our house. He finally ordered the part, but after some emailing Thor back and forth, I discovered the part wouldn't arrive until around January 2026!!

Two more appointments were made and cancelled by SHS, without explanation, the latest to be Dec 1 (today!). I wrote an email last week asking why this latest cancellation occurred, and they are yet to get back to me. Now none of the zones work fully - they all only heat up on one half. That is if I can get the unit to turn on at all. I am going through the holiday season with an unreliable cooktop, and this is the NINTH month of this debacle. Why is Transformco, Sears and Sears Home Services parent company, allowing this to happen? I have tried their corporate number and of course that gives you options that have malfunctioning IVRs. Absolutely terrible service by all departments. And to think Sears used to be the epitome of a good department store.

They ordered the part and came for the repair on 11/21. We attempted to use the washer after the repair; when we checked on it 10 minutes into the wash, there was water overflowing out of it. Whatever "repair" the tech made was not done correctly or not fully tested to ensure the washer was functioning properly.

When you call the company to report the issue- insufficient repair, water flooded basement utility room- it is impossible to speak to a human. This is not a company that I would recommend to anyone that wants knowledgeable, effective, and complete resolution of their issues, and the ability to get immediate support when their repair not only doesn't work but also causes a significant issue in the home.

We endured two weeks without running hot water.

After several calls pushing to get a Tech. Sears told me to hire my own due to the lack of service assistants & I would be reimbursed. I did so & sent them the bill & evaluation they need to install a new Tank. I had to stay on Sears Services to get someone to get to my home to evaluate what I paid the Tech to evaluate which cost me $265.00 & I have an existing Service Agreement. Still out of HOT water for the whole house to bathe. In my home I have children & elderly family members I kept calling Sears! Eventually I informed them I will be using the licensed Technician who evaluated the Tank stated I need a replacement, to replace the 50 gallon Tank that was bursted on the top & bottom which also flooded my basement.

I sent the bill to Sears prior to the job, no response. I waited weeks for Sears to get the matter resolved. We have to bathe to go to work, etc. I had no alternative but to call back the Technician to get the job done! I sent the bill to Sears $2,330 for labor, purchase of a new Tank & installation. They refused to reimburse me the full amount stating they are the only one that can approve the Tank replacement under the Service Contract I have been paying for, for years! I am disappointed & disgusted because Sears Services could not get the job done, we would have to wait literally a month after going through their process!!! I have sent emails regarding my full reimbursement & Sears Services refuse to respond to my questions!!

I plan to do away with their Service Agreement. Sears Services has failed not just in this example. Every time you schedule appointments for Service they do not show up! They take months after months to get parts to be delivered coming to a Service appointments unnecessarily. The quality service they did back in the 90’s does not exist today! Sears still owes me $600 plus! What is the use of having Service Contracts? People seek other Service Contracts.

Total cost to fix the washing machine was more than the machine was brand new. Considering you're on the hook the the service call as soon as they show up they try to overcharge. Stay Away!

This review concerns a standalone Sears Home Services repair appointment, not a warranty plan. Sears took full payment for a dryer repair they never completed. They missed two scheduled appointments without any notice or communication, then refused to reschedule promptly. After the second no-show, I called to request an earlier date, but the earliest slot offered was days later. At that point, I requested a refund. Sears required me to return an unused part at my own expense before issuing only a partial refund. Their own website clearly states: “If you proceed with the recommended repair, the diagnostic fee will be waived.” We authorized and paid in full for the repair, but Sears failed to complete it. Despite this, they kept the $129 diagnostic fee and refused to refund it—even after I cited their own policy.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and again cited their own written policy, but Sears once again ignored their stated policy and insisted the fee was non-refundable. I ultimately filed a credit card dispute and won. This was the worst customer-service experience I have ever had—missed appointments, no accountability, and a total refusal to follow their own written policy. Avoid Sears Home Services completely.

Our GF refrigerator was purchased at Sears. We purchased the extended warranty Sears called at the master plan. It was extremely expensive at the time that we felt that it was best to purchase. The refrigerator went out on October 23. It completely stopped cooling and freezing. We contacted Sears Home Repair. They came out and they tried to collect $129 from us for diagnostic however we refused to pay that fee because it was under warranty that we purchased.

The technician stated that the compressor needs to be replaced and would order the part and be back next week, which is November 4. There was a no-show. From my understanding they have rescheduled the appointment for sometime in December as a diagnostic appointment and wish to charge again $129. I have also done some research only to find out that the Sears repair warranty has been transferred to Transformco company and from what I understand, many people have had tremendous problems without being able to get repairs. I have tried many ways to reach out to this company only to be frustrated.

Horrible. Do not use Sears maintenance service for repairs. They send out 3rd party repairmen. I ended up with A&E and can’t help but feel ripped off. He told me no worries. It’s just a fuse and he fixed it without providing me with an estimate (as was the agreement in the service call) and then charged 379.00 for the repair. I tried to follow up with Sears and they only have chat and they provide an email for complaints and the response from email seems to be AI generated as well since my original emails two them had the same response all three times. You cannot speak to a human and the credit card company could not either so I am stuck paying the bill.

I have been paying for this service monthly since 2021. When you file a claim, there is a fee (currently $100) in addition to the monthly fees. I have come to realize that parts can be replaced, over and over again, while the issue persists. In my case, my washing machine wo stop working and there will be two error codes that show on the display. The technician would come, order parts and then after a week or two, the parts arrive and another technician would come to install the parts. Unfortunately, the problem persisted causing me to have to go to the laundromat to wash my clothes. When the technician came out again due to the machine still not working and displaying the same codes after four parts were replaced, I was told that more parts needed to be ordered. More waiting and wondering if when these new parts are installed, the washing machine will finally work.

When I asked the technician about when there would potentially be a credit issued for me to purchase a new machine since just about every part on it has been replaced already, he indicated this would likely never happen. Sears will continue to have the technician order parts and replace them, even parts that have already replaced! I realized that this service is all about collecting the monthly fee and dragging things out so that they recoup their costs and then some. This service may be worth it if your appliance was fixed once and for all, but this is not what has happened in my case. This company uses the Sears name, but there is zero customer service and zero accountability. The Sears brand may fool people into thinking that this is the Sears of old that provides value, but the name has absolutely no value at this point in time.

2025 update. Complete Scam. Their website purposely hides links to your warranty, hoping that you schedule for "regular service" out of pocket so that you don't get any benefits from the home warranty you may have paid for multiple years in a row. It was always hard to get any actual service, but was doable if you spoke with multiple call center folks directly to actually get an order synced up and pushed through the system. Now even that garbage "feature" is gone. All client communications are "AI." The "AI" features that they have running the text chat AND the phone center are incapable of even basic support operations.

One week my name and address easily looked up my warranty. The next week there's "no active warranty" even though we've been paying through the nose for premium coverage. They have the audacity to set up the "AI agent" to ask why you are requesting a human contact, and then, after you've wasted your time elaborating on why the algorithm can't help you and hasn't helped you on multiple previous attempts, they tell you they're an "all AI" service with no human agents now. We are truly living in a nightmare future. My family had 40+ years of dealings with Sears, and had their own warranty for 15+ years. I'm a new homeowner customer who has been wrestling with this service for the last 3 years or so. We are all leaving this service and will never do business with Sears or any related company again.

Then it all went downhill. Tech came out during the time frame request was at the house 5 min. Said he needed to order a part. Okay we ordered the part I PAID IN FULL for service and part. Part did not come in before next appointment time one week later; and I understand that happens. But I had to cancel that appointment and reschedule, lady helping me this time very rude and even though she claimed to make my appointment did not because I received an email that work had been completed. Had to call back, make another appointment request the same time because I work full time and on a very strict schedule; of course no time available for two weeks. Had to take time off so I could get my washer fixed.

When I finally got the tech back to the house; he was there maybe 20 min and didn't even put back all the screws into the washer!!! Said he didn't need them! I am sorry what, they came out of the washer they go in the washer. So I paid $405.46 for 30 min for crap service and can't even put my washer back completely. NEVER AGAIN SEARS.

I called Sears back and told them what he had found, and they wanted me to jump through a bunch of hoops before they would do anything. I was supposed to chase this guy around and get an invoice that said the parts weren’t available.

They returned a few days later and finished the job. This was one service, not two. The service man warned not to let the company charge again. That's exactly what they have done. I was turned over to a collection company who demands that I prove that I paid. I showed them a copy of the check that I used to pay on the spot.

They said, "That's not proof. You could have just made it up." Sears should research their records instead accusing me of not paying. The job would never have been started if I didn't pay. It's home warranty policy. I am a 79-year-old disabled veteran and I think they are trying to take advantage of the old. We are a target these days. They won't call the home warranty company because the company will ask why they did the job without getting payment from the customer up front, which by the way, the warranty company already paid them for.
