I moved from one state to another. This company would not let me cancel my service and said that the only way was to install another service for an additional 2 years in my new house and that then they would cancel my other service. I am still being billed by mail for both systems AND being charged on my credit card as well (after 5 months). I have called, written and emailed everyone that I can reach with no results. I get voicemail or told they will look into it but then no response. I cannot reach anyone with any ability to do anything about it. Next is my attorney. Fraud!!!

This company is absolutely horrible, taking advantage of the elderly by knocking on their doors and intimidating them into having Security Systems installed. Having them sign a 5 year contract. My parents cancelled and had the equipment removed within the 3 days and are still being charged for the 5 years of monitoring. Nobody should sign anything with this company. Please don't get ripped off!!!

I subscribed to Safe Home Security on August, 2017 when a young man knocked on my door. He had a list of addresses, and he knew my existing security contract had been completed. He said he worked for Quantum Energy, and he represented Safe Home Security. He asked me if my current service charged me when something malfunctioned. I answered "yes". He told me that SHS would replace any malfunctioning piece of equipment for free, and would even replace the batteries -- all for $39.99/mo. When I hesitated, he offered a "Ring" security camera for free. With those conditions, I signed up for their service. I told him I had a malfunctioning TouchPad upstairs, and he said his technician would follow shortly, and determine if it needed replacing. The tech guy showed up 30 minutes later, inspected my existing system, determined that the TouchPad needed replacing, and pulled it off the wall. He said he'd follow through with replacement.
I waited 1 month with no further communication from SHS, then called customer care. This was September, 2017, and I've been getting the runaround since then. I've called customer care over 10 times, and they keep promising a solution, but never call back. They set up a service call for Jan 4, but never showed up. When I called, the rep stated that he cancelled the service call because SHS will only replace equipment that THEY installed! That was never the agreement. Replacement/repair of existing equipment was the reason I switched companies! It has been 4.5 months with no resolution, and I now expect none. Oh, they also charged me for the "free" Ring camera, by adding $4.00 to the monthly service fee.

Man came over to my house to sell me this crap. I fell for it! I was offered six months free and he stated and wrote down on paper. After the six month is over you can call to cancel with NO PENALTIES!!! First the alarm just sucks, keeps going off. Called a few times for someone to come and fix it and In six month no one has came or made an attempt to contact me!!! Called customer service and told them I was unhappy with the services that I was NOT getting first of all and they told me I could not cancel because I was on a five year contract that their employee who she stated is no longer with them and if he was he would be fired cause it's not the first time which I taught hilarious!!! But anywho he told me it was 2 year tops BUT that during my trail period it will not affect me but yet HERE WE ARE!!! I will be taking action against them. They falsely advertise and are extremely rude and arrogant pompous **.

The system is extremely faulty and customer service is extremely rude. Customer service won't send someone to fix my system and when I tell them to just cancel my service they got extremely rude and then hung up on me twice.

In September 2015 my mother and step-father signed up with this company for a home alarm system. Mind you at the time my mother's age was 89 and my step-fathers age was 91. They were not aware of the fact they were signing up for 5 years, or the most important part that there was no way to cancel this policy until the five years were up. My mother is the most honest person in the world and has numerous health conditions. Nowhere on the contract does it say it is for five years. The little one line for cancellation just says if you cancel before you are liable for 90% of the contract due. My mother was extremely upset when her husband dies and she moved in with me and we found this out.
The people there are extremely rude. We couldn't find the single page contract when she moved so we stopped the autopay from her bank. They then contacted her sending a letter to the previous address. This was in March. She moved in with me in October 2016 and paid them through March when we canceled. They then called the neighbor who was on the emergency list to inform her that the bills were not being paid. How dare they do this. I then got a number to call and I called right away after I found out how they had treated my mother. I have only been getting the runaround and they are not nice to deal with in any way shape or form. We did everything that they requested. Sent a letter canceling, sent the death certificate and the sale of the trailer paperwork. You would think this would be enough and they are still billing her monthly for their service.
I am getting ready to contact an attorney to find out what we can do since she did not know it was a five-year contract and did not know that there was a clause that even in death you still owed the contract. My stepfather was put on hospice care permanently a few months later and died one year after they signed their contract. I would really love to know if others are having this issue also. They are terrible people who prey on the elderly. Why would you sign up a couple knowing what their ages were for the longest contract possible and not explain to them in detail that if one of them passed away the other would be liable for the remaining contract. This is shoddy business practice and very deceitful. My step-father would NEVER have agreed to those terms as well as my mother.

I am writing this for my father who in 2015 agreed to a 5 year contract for a home security system. The monthly fee is $ 42.99. Recently, Dad was diagnosed with dementia and it was suggested he required full time care. I live in Los Angeles, he lives in Kingman, AZ. I put my dad in a memory care facility in Kingman and am preparing his home for sale. I called Safe Home Security in an effort to explain our change in life situation and requested termination of my dad's security system service. SHS informed me that Dad had a 5 year contract and, while they understood our situation, they could not cancel his contract unless we paid the balance of the unused contract amount of roughly $1,300.00. They offered to move the service to his new home. I explained that he is now in an assisted living facility and there is no place to move the service to.
A "customer care" rep suggested that I needed to send a letter from my dad's physician verifying his condition and they would review the case. 3 weeks later, and after SHS had debited my dad's checking account for another $ 42.99, I had heard nothing in response. I did receive a form letter offering to move Dad's service to a new address. I contacted customer care again and was informed that, despite my father's condition and his obvious lack of need for home security, SHS could not cancel his contract unless he paid the $1,300.00. I'm furious and can't believe that any company with any sort of moral or ethical common sense wouldn't just let my dad out of this contract.
It's bad enough that Dad developed dementia, has to move from his home, can't drive a car and feels he has lost his freedom. Now I'm dealing with these stubborn and insensitive people who insist on taking money that they will never have to provide service for. It is absolutely mind boggling!! The people I have spoken with have all been condescending and unresponsive. I jumped through all of the hoops that they set up to "resolve" this situation, was left in the dark with no follow up on their part and ended up right where I had started 3 weeks ago. No resolution. I am so frustrated and disgusted with Safe Home Security that I had to take the time to write this review. I wish the rating system included negative stars because I feel like 1 star is even too kind to give this company!

The following information was sent to Safe Home Security & Alarm.com back in May, 2017. Alarm.com who is the monitoring company for Safe Home Security tried to get Safe Home Security to address the stated issues, to NO AVAIL. It is with a high degree of frustration, concern and feelings of “betrayal” that I write this. This is regarding services provided by alarm.com (a.k.a. Safe Home Security, a.k.a Security Systems, a.k.a. Alliance, a.k.a. ProLink Protection). Back in March, 2015, (3/24/15 late PM) we, as renters, of the property at **, we were solicited by a gentleman by the name of **, Advertising Coordinator from ProLink Protection to “lower” our monthly security/alarm service thru installation of a protection system provided by ProLink Protection, 1910 S Stapley Drive, Suite 119, Mesa AZ 85204.
Mr. **, was very persuasive regarding the level of services to be provided, service cancellation, provided lots of references and assured us that since we were renters of the property, we would be able to cancel the service, if and when we decided to move, purchase a property, etc. There was never any conversation about a long term contract, a need to move the service if we decided to move, etc.
The fact that we were never made aware of any company by the name of Alliance, Security Systems, Safe Home Security, Alarm.com involved in this proposed security system/thermostat, etc. makes matters even worse. To all intents and purposes, and, as far as we knew, we were doing business with ProLink Protection of Mesa AZ from 3/24/15 until approximately 4/15/16. The “email” documentation included in this package, hopefully, supports the back and forth with ProLink Protection of Mesa AZ in support of notification of our pending move effective 4/14/16.
Now, unfortunately, it wasn’t until today, Tuesday, 5/9/17 that I was made aware this service was never disconnected, billing was never stopped, due to receiving an email message indicating there was “failure message” coming from the system; and, now, it appears, as a result of contacting Safe Home Security what we understood to be your basic month-to-month service agreement, because we were renters, is still in service and the only way out of this “agreement” is a buy out.
We were never notified of any change in name of the company ProLink Protection to Alliance, Security Systems, Safe Home Security, alarm.com, etc. We have never received any information regarding the system was still in service. We have never, until today, received any messages regarding system failures, or any indication the system was still active.
The other very unfortunate part of all this is the copy of the agreement written by Mr. ** on March 25, 2015 is so illegible, faded & unclear, it’s virtually impossible to read anything. Additionally, it’s obvious that we were “duped” by Mr. **, as when the agreement was written (what appears now to be fraudulent), it is clear that he chose to indicate that we were the “homeowners”, which is totally untrue. At the time the agreement was written I made it very clear we were NOT the homeowners, and, even suggested to Mr. ** that he contact the homeowners about them undertaking this agreement.
It is with regret that this situation is just now surfacing; however, based on the circumstances outlined in this documentation, I have no intention of continuing this service; a) in a home I no longer live, b) haven’t lived in for over 12 months, c) have no interest in providing services for people I don’t even know, and, d) believed this was a month-to-month agreement. Letter RE: Service at **.
My position on this situation is this: I believe, based on never having been notified by ProLink Protection, that now a company by the Alliance, or, Security Systems, or, Safe Home Security/alarm.com of any name change/purchase/sale of ProLink Protection, I’m not responsible for this agreement, I believe, based on the documentation provided, the $40.99 per month, from 4/15/16 thru 5/20/27 should be refunded immediately, I believe this agreement was written fraudulently by Mr. ** in an attempt to bolster his “sales numbers”, The automatic debit payment(s) of $40.99 per month will be stopped as of 5/20/17.
The following information Your immediate attention to this matter is appreciated. In an effort to expedite this matter, a copy of this and associated email correspondence with ProLink Protection has been sent via email to: info@alarm.com Please provide & reply all communications regarding this matter in writing, either via, USPS or email. Thank you!

I switched from ADT to Safe Home Security based on the reviews they had gathered from themselves on their web-site. I had to move to Asia for work and had to cancel service. I called Security One was told that my contract will only end on December 30, 2017. I was asked to write an official letter and they cannot take my cancellation by phone! I was willing to do that. I told them I was prepared to pay the penalty for early termination. However, the agent said they were not willing to stop the monitoring because she declared that they had to honor their contract! Is there a more illogical service than Security One. When I ask to speak to the manager, she said they are busy with other callers. Then before I could give her my mobile number, she hung up on me. Very very rude unreasonable service.

I have never had a worse experience with a company then I have with Safe Home Security. We signed up July 2012 while building a home and explained that we would be moving in 6 months but we would NOT be selling our current home (family would be renting it). They said "no problem" and we could move the system for free. It all sounded great. We loved the system at first in our home, no complaints. Then we moved. They came and uninstalled our unit and packed it up for us to take with us. 2 weeks after moving we called them to come and install at our new home and they wanted to charge us $180. When they came to uninstall they never mentioned a charge to reinstall and again when we signed up they said it would be free. That was the start of the issues.
The service tech no showed on 3 different appointments. He finally showed up and installed the equipment but we had to pay. I continued to fight it and after a year they did reimburse our money after the company that installed it originally got involved (honestly I think the 3rd party ended up paying SHS and so SHS just reimbursed us to appease us but I don't know this for sure).
Well the system after it was installed at our new home never worked right and said disconnected on the main panel. We called back and they said they would send someone out and eventually they did. He said something was broken on the main panel so he ordered some new piece to be mailed to us and he would come back to install. The piece came but he never came back. We called and he never came so we called to try to get out of our contract since we didn't have a working unit due to them. They assured someone would come out and fix it yet no one did and we couldn't get out of our contract.
Also in this time frame they double billed us March, April and May 2013. They billed us under Safe Home Security and VOS ALARM on the same day in March and one day apart in April and May. I called in June after noticing it and they assured they would refund it. They never did. I kept calling and every time we had a new account rep and they had "no clue" what was going on with our account and would need to "look over the account and call us back". Well we would never get a call. I was calling monthly for a while then started to give up. I realized we were stuck paying for this crap for 5 yrs and had no way out.
I kept trying to get my refund for the double billing and sent in faxes of my bank statements numerous times to different account reps and still we have not seen a refund. I cancelled our account April 2017 and was told we would stop being billed yet we have continued to be billed. Called back and they said we will be until July. I explained again about the double billing and how if they will just cancel us now and not charge again I'll drop it and they assured me they cannot cancel me as we are in a black and white agreement. I assured them my black and white agreement stated we would have a working system.
Upon calling this last time we also found that this entire time they never changed our address to our new one even though we have informed them numerous times... Every time we called in fact over the past 4 years... And if we were to have an emergency this entire time emergency personnel would have been dispatched to our old address, 45 min north of us. How that is legal and keeps us safe is beyond me. Thank God we have not had an emergency and needed them. This company should NOT be in business. Not only have they demonstrated extremely poor customer service time and time again but I have paid them monthly for the past 5 years to keep my family safe and my family's safety is the main thing they have put in danger by not keeping proper records or doing their job.

I had a previous home monitoring contract with another company that expired and I fell on a month to month plan. That company no longer offered home monitoring using home phone service so they sold me to this crappy ** company! About 6 months went by when I realized I was being billed for service from a company I never heard of. I called them to see who they were and why was they was trying billing me and I was informed they were a home monitoring company. I immediately told them I wanted to cancel the service and they told me I had to do so by writing.
I sent a email and a letter! I called back to get the final payment and they said I was under a year contract which I knew I was not. Long story short this went on back & forth for a whole year with them annoyingly calling me telling me my bill is racking up when will I make a payment. I kept telling them I sent in a letter to terminate the service and they will tell me when they receive it but never cancelled the service.
A year pass and someone called me and finally agreed that I indeed is under a month to month but instructs me to pay the fees & interests on a bill I tried to take care of a year ago but they said I was under contract another year. So they let a whole year go by to gather the info they needed to close it out but they want me to pay for the fees & interest of their negligence!!! This company is not BBB accredited for a reason. They suck and they know it! I'm just waiting on a class action law suit against them!!! Nothing is still resolved and they are still billing me for service after they have confirm all the facts of receiving my letter of cancellation and my service was month to month!

I was transferred to Safe Home Security from a different company. Things were ok for a large part of the time until my contract expired. They tried to sell me on a three year contract that could not be cancelled, and if I moved, sold my house or anything related, I would have to pay off the contract to get out of it. I never signed the contract because I was assured I could stay on with them month to month.
In January 2017 something changed. I suddenly set off my alarm a few times without receiving a phone call at all from the dispatch that would normally call me. So after a few months of noticing that I was not getting any calls (even though the money was being withdrawn from my bank monthly) I reached out to them and they told me the reason for this issue was because the G2 technology which my system was using to communicate was no longer in place. If it wasn't because I noticed that I was not getting called when the alarm was being set off I would have never received a notification of the issue. When I spoke to them, they claimed that they had notified me, but what they kept notifying me about was an attempt to get me to sign a 3 year contract, they never once told me about this technology issue with my system.
I called and asked them to cancel my account, and they said I had to email them a request to cancel. After emailing, they then sent me a letter telling them I had to call them to discuss my account. When I called again, they said it took 30 days to cancel the account, so I sent them a total of 4 months worth of payments without actually having any sort of security coverage from them. Must be nice to get paid to do NOTHING.

Dishonest business practice. For 3.5 years Safe Home Security withdrew $40 a month from my bank account for a service that never worked. Pinnacle Security sold my account to Safe Home. No letters, no phone calls received regarding this transition. In August, 2016 I called my bank to stop payment on future payments because I decided to go with a new security service - One that worked. At that time, I asked them to identify the merchant so I could send an official cancellation letter. The bank was unable to identify.
As soon as I stopped Automated payments, I heard from Safe Home, by letter, telling me I owed them money. I called and left over a dozen messages that I needed to cancel the service and left my name and phone number. I never received a single phone call back but I continued receiving their billing statements. Finally, I pulled up SHS on the web and called a technical support number. For the first time, I got someone live. It wasn't who I needed to talk to but they transferred me someone in billing who actually picked up the phone. This person said they received my voice mail about cancelling the service in August 2016. When asked why they never returned my phone calls so I could square up financially, they couldn't or wouldn't respond.
Bottom line, they say they are on the up and up contractually and I have no choice but to abide. But for people who are seeking a good security service, do not select Safe Home Security. They don't answer phone calls probably because they're banking on you getting frustrated and hanging up without ever resolving the issue. Don't know how these people face themselves in the mirror everyday.

In May 2016, "Todd" showed up at my home and said my contract with current monitoring company (Monitronics) was about to expire and he was there to upgrade my alarm system and give me 6 months of monitoring service for free. He called a technician, who arrived at my home later that day and replaced a chip in my existing alarm panel and installed a camera on the exterior of my home (which never worked and caused me to miss several important package deliveries, until I removed it a couple of weeks after installation). Todd hand-wrote a cancellation request letter to Monitronics and asked me to sign it.
In June 2016, I received a response letter from Monitronics saying that my contract with them does not end until June 2019 and refusing to cancel. Immediately, I called the number Todd had given me with the express directions to "only call this number if anything comes up and do not call Safe Home Security directly". There was no recording on the voice mailbox other than a standard robotic voice, no company name, no personal name... nothing. I called that number 3 times over the next week and never received a return call. So, I reached out to Safe Home Security directly. I explained the situation to them and they told me I needed to contact "the dealer directly". I told them I'd tried several times, with no response. They said they would have the dealer contact me. No one ever contacted me.
I contacted my prior company and had the chip SHS had installed removed and my system reconnected to Monitronics' monitoring service in June 2016. In December 2016, I noticed a charge on my account from SHS. So, I reached out to them again to re-iterate what I reported to them in June and that I still had not received any responses from their "dealer" and that I had not been receiving monitoring services from them for 6 months, as I had my Monitronics service re-connected. SHS told me they couldn't help me because I was still in the first year of my contract and that I had to deal with their dealer instead. I told them to cancel my contract with them, which is under their name and not their "dealer's".
In February 2017, I noticed yet another charge from SHS on my credit card statement. So, again, I reached out to them via telephone and was once again told they couldn't help me cancel their service because I was in the first year of service. Later that month, I received a copy of the contract with SHS. Again, I called to let them know I am not using their service and need to cancel. They told me they require 60 days notice in writing and gave me an email address to send my notice to, which I promptly did.
Then, in March, I received another letter from SHS saying that I'm under contract with them through November 2021 and giving me their Customer Care Department's direct telephone number. When I called the number, it was disconnected, with no forwarding number. I found another number for SHS online and called. After 25 minutes on hold, I was transferred to "Maria", in "Dealer Support". She took down the information (that I had already given so many times to various representatives) and said she would contact the dealer on my behalf.
When I finally spoke with the dealer (Todd's boss), he was very rude and argumentative, hurling accusations and calling me "stupid" and requiring me to send him a copy of my contract with Monitronics. I told him that was confidential information that I didn't want to share with him. He said there was nothing he could do to terminate the contract with SHS without my information from Monitronics. This felt very "off" to me. No vendor has ever required such a thing of me in the past to cancel a service (particularly one I'm not using and was sold under false pretenses). So, I hung up and called Maria at SHS. She told me that I was required to send confirmation that my Monitronics contract was still active in order for my cancellation with SHS to be considered and gave me her email address to send it to directly. I did send the letter from Monitronics I received in June 2016 to the email address Maria gave me.
The next day, I called her to make sure she'd received my email containing the letter. No return call. So, I called again the following day and left a voicemail message for her. No return call. I called again and left a message. Still no return call. So, I dialed the main SHS number and was told "Maria has left for the day". SHS has cost me a huge amount of time dealing with this ridiculous situation. Why are they so cavalier? At this point, I believe the company to be run by scam artists. I do not wish to deal with them again and will warn anyone willing to listen against using their services.

Never sign up for monitoring with this company! I was switched over to them by another carrier. They forced me to sign a 5-year contract, when I objected they said that was the only option. I should have walked away then, but I wasn't aware I had a choice. A few years down the line I did some remodeling. One of the doors with a sensor was being replaced, I called to see what I should do. I followed their instructions but the sensor never worked again. When the new door was in place we reinstalled the sensor and called to see how to activate it. (For almost one year we paid for monitoring that we could not use). The phone support could not find a solution. They said I would need to pay $75 for a technician to come out. When I called back to schedule the technicians visit they said one would call me. I waited one month, no one called. I called back and made a similar request. Again, no response.
After waiting another month I sent a letter to discontinue the service based on their inability to service my system. I got no response. I called and was told that I had been paying every month for service (14.95) but they had no one in my area to service the system! I then got a lawyer, who was unable to get them to cooperate. It was passed on to the State of Minnesota Attorney General. That only triggered a very rude letter. My bill continues to add up and I have no idea what to do next. I will not pay them another dime.

This company focus on taking money but deliver bad services and options. I have been with them for 9 years and wanted to include video monitoring and remote services but they wanted money that was not competitive. I called to cancel my services after 9 years and was told to send a letter which I did. Then the automatic withdrawal from my account did not stop. I called them to stop taking money from my account and was told no. In effect forcing me to continue with a service that I did not need any longer.
According to them if I don't cancel by January 21st then there is a rolling automatic contract for a year. I sent my cancellation on 13th January so that did not hold water. Then I was told that they need 60 days prior notice so in effect my cancellation prior to January 21st is void and will have the rolling automatic contract for a year. This to me is about the money not the service they provide. Don't ever sign up for their services because it is inferior and they have horrible customer service in effect mafia.

They came to my home in 2012 selling their services and equipment. I signed up for a 5 year contract allowing them to autodraft $50 from my account monthly. I have not used the service in 2-3 years. I tried to cancel 2 years ago and I was told they would not allow me out of my contract. Now that my contract has ended, I am told I had to send a request in writing to cancel 60 days prior or I will be AUTOMATICALLY renewed for another year. They are now again refusing to cancel. They are cons who only want to access your account with no plans to ever service the customer. They are only available to service the system during work hours anyway. The service is lacking and the contracts are designed to take your money indefinitely. I am still fighting to get my contract canceled.

Safe Home Security an out of state based company hire dishonest installers to represent their company and sell security equipment to the elderly. My parents of 90+ yrs. were approached at their home by two men who informed them that the current security system my parents were contracted with was no longer in business. These men said they were sent to switch the monitoring system to Safe Home Security, the replacement company, and that the monthly fee would be less than they had been paying. My unsuspecting parents let them in the house!
Upon completing the written contract my mom noticed the monthly monitoring fee was quite a bit higher than they had been paying. When she mentioned this she was immediately accommodated with a lower monthly fee which was written and she initialed it. However, we believe the change was only made on the pink-customer copy not the original copy. At 90 yrs. she did not catch this scam tactic. After two weeks passed it was discovered that their original security company did not go out of business and their contract with the original company was still binding. This company was kind enough to give my parents two months credit and time to work out the issue with Safe Home Security.
Advocating for my parents I have gotten nowhere over a course of 5 months. Safe Home representatives have done nothing but transfer me to other representatives arguing that there is no upper management to speak to for such issues. They have not returned calls, written communication nor sent a requested copy of the original contract (white-company copy). Plus the monthly fee is not the amount my mom initialed. It is a much larger fee! My parents canceled their credit card in which auto withdraws were authorized and reinstated security monitoring with their original security company. Now they receive hard copy bills from Safe Home Security and have been threatened with collections. I am still trying to resolve this issue for them. Nightmare!
Safe Home Security and all the other names it goes by is a disreputable security alarm company who employ temporary workers to aggressively canvass neighborhoods selling residential security systems. These workers use unethical and dishonest sales tactics meant to mislead and confuse the homeowner. They target not only people already under contract with other alarm companies, but also the elderly. What is worse is that Safe Home Security looks the other way and allows this to happen! Beware this company!!!

This company is terrible, they come to your house and they lie from the beginning, They install the system in August 2015, the system did not work properly. They sent a technician three times and the system did not work properly, but they want me to pay. I closed my bank account for other reasons so they could not take my money. In September 2016, I did a deal with them. I paid in full what I owned, for a service I did not receive, and they promise me to fix the system. They did an appointment but the technician never arrived but they want me to pay again. Yesterday, after almost 2 years they came to fix the system, wow, what a great company, I do not want to deal with this people Anymore. I refuse to pay for something I did not receive, please, somebody help us to stop this people. They are stealing our money legally?? There must be something we can do.

Bad home security service! One month ago on 1-3-17, I purchase Safe Home security system for my home. From day one I've had problems with this system. I called the company numerous times about the system giving false alarm to the police department. I called Richard from Safe Home to send out a technician to fix the problem. Nothing was never resolved. So I called Richard back a week later about the problem. He stated "What do you want me to do. Put a gun to the technician head to fix the problem." (Richard work in the schedule department.) So I just want to cancelled my service!

Impossible to get service canceled once you sign 5 year contracts! I was divorced, moved out of the house and exchanged several emails with "customer care" to have the service canceled. My Ex took over the bank account that was being charged, so I did not know they continued to charge him for 7 months after I had the account canceled to the tune of $244.93!!! Still trying to get a refund, but I think I am hitting a wall. I have to go find cancellation papers that were filed and put into storage when I moved. When I called about it, the receptionist at billing said our contract was (magically) running out THIS month - what a coincidence!! I hope someone files a Class Action Lawsuit against these thieves! DO NOT enter into any contract with them, you'll be signing your life away - they are crooks.

I've had problems with my alarm system since day one. In the middle of the night, the alarm would go off, then it started to beep every 2 minutes, just like the smoke detectors do when they're running outta battery, then I noticed a yellow symbol on the panel was constantly on and the beep would come and go! Of course the system is hooked through the landline and every single time there was a problem, Of course my internet would be disconnected, my printer didn't work and I couldn't use my land line, Then they'd call to notify me they received a medical emergency call, which I don't even have the required equipment for such service.
And this is at my parents' house and I don't even live there, and they don't speak English, so every single time something after god knows how many phone calls and zillion emails and 3 no show appointments, somebody came and replaced batteries in all the sensors with brand new ones, the very next day I had the same issue. And the panel kept showing low battery in the master bedroom's sensor, finally I got a call From Jemma who claimed she is a supervisor, contacted me directly, and that's after several requests to call my cellphone instead of my dad's!!! Anyway, she had no idea what the hell she was talking about, she even said that herself, she didn't even know what kinda battery should be used for the sensors, let alone knowing what number! But even after hours of explanation, she still sent me the wrong batteries! Which I didn't even need!
So finally said I wanna cancel my service. She talked me into renewing my contract electronically, since It was close to that date. I said I would do it only if they upgrade and install a brand new system for me after all the hassle, and she verbally Agreed to that. She emailed me the renewal forms but I was busy and couldn't get back to her right away, she bombarded my email account and was super pushy. Well I was so irritated by the time I opened the email that totally didn't pay attention to the ridiculous terms and never noticed that she actually put my mom's initial on the papers herself, even wrote my mom's name in her handwriting, but unfortunately my dumb ass already had signed the papers electronically.
Anyway long story short, Friday somebody was suppose to come to install the new system, Jemma left me multiple voice msgs to expect somebody between 9 am to 1 pm, guess what nobody showed up! Finally we rescheduled for today, the guy showed up around noon, and as he started drilling the wall, told me he is only gonna install a new panel, and all it says on his ticket! I called Jemma right then and there, I was so irritated I could break the phone as she was struggling to say the right word, and all her responses were so unrelated and poor, it almost made me laugh! She said "In order to cancel your service we must first, receive your written request" and that she doesn't have the authority to take further actions!!!
BUNCHA BS ALL ALONG! Waste of my breath, waste of time, money, space... and I just came across this page, which made me happy and upset at the same time, I kinda felt stupid for falling for the whole thing and just realized how difficult is to get rid of them. But at the end of the day, I appreciate whoever created this page and all the effort everybody has put in, knowing that I'm not the only one, puts my mind in ease, a little bit. I am writing this cancellation request right now, any suggestion in terms of what to say or what not to say, I'm done being polite, honestly. But if anybody out there had success in any way, I would appreciate a feedback!

I've had the alarm from Safe Home for over a year now and it hasn't worked properly since I've had it. Several false alarms. Was called by alarm company and told someone was breaking in my house. Left work and speeded home to find everything just as I left it. No break ins. No police responding. Called for service and took off from work to meet service person. They never showed! Called and tried to cancel the whole alarm and was told I can't until contract is up. Scheduled second service appointment. Was told no openings for three weeks yet I still have to pay for service since I'm in a contract! This company is a rip off and should be shut down. Beware.

To begin, we sign up with SHS in 2015. In March 2016, we had a false smoke detector alarm. I spoke with the person over the system and explained something is wrong with this detector. The lady I spoke with scheduled an appoint for service. No one ever showed up. After this, and going through many medical issues...The alarm did not go off, so we let it go. All indications was that it was fine. IT WAS NOT.
In June 2016, we had 2 false alarms again. Both times, I spoke with SHS on the intercom, that all was fine. After the 2nd alarm, I requested to have someone check my system. I was informed that the service COULD NOT be arranged until 3 weeks later. As I said, dealing with many health issues... when I was told it would be 3 weeks, my 1st question was "how can you be a security company?" Then, so I pay for a month and only 1 week of service. Doing this, YOU ARE NOT!!!
I sat and read my 3 year contract. On the contract it gives a fax number to fax the cancellation to. In addition, even though I did not agree...it said to cancel, you had to pay the current and next months charges...which they had already taken. I cancelled the auto pay at my bank. They can NOT get to my money anymore...without a courtroom...I PRAY. Due to my circumstances, and had to act on behalf of MY family's safety. THEY BREACHED THE CONTRACT due to not providing the security they claim to provide. 3 weeks away is a joke. And in mine and many other's book IS NOT A SECURITY COMPANY. Anyone WILL see this the same way. It's like a bank opening the doors and leaving. Take what you want. LOL.
My system was COMPLETELY removed in early July 2016. The complete system has been shut off since June 23rd 2016. I get regular calls from them for money. As soon as I mention the step in cancellation, they hang up. Back in June 23rd 2016, after finding all this out, I became very UPSET to say is being kind because, I have my wife, her sister and a 3 year old living in my home...and I had MAJOR brain surgery on July 14th. I have screen copies of my login with them. And keep in mind it is 2017. Over 6 months my online status has been shown as June 23rd 2016 10 - 11 AM. I have YET to get a call after 6 months, other than threatening me to pay up...that I cannot cancel.
I explained that THEY breached the contract, failing to service equipment, as stated in THEIR contract. I followed it to the letter. Still no service from them and MANY threatening calls on a regular basis. Since this is happening, and I find them on the phone, I say "1 moment please. Yes I am her, and by law I must inform you that this conversation is being recorded. Most object, or just hang up." The objections, I just tell them, "the answering from THE COMPANY notified was being recorded. Why can't I. What are you afraid of." So they hang up. Put in request for a manager now 4 times. Only answering machine and no call back.
After I recovered well enough from removing the aneurysm, with brain surgery...SO I am tired and talking to a very good friend and my attorney...he's ready. This is NOT phone harassment or any minor issue. They have put my wife, son, sister-in-law and her 3 yr old IN DANGER. I keep begging them to take it to court and if it shows on my credit report, we would have a major legal problem. GOOD LUCK. Almost sounds to me, they need class act (Group) to file. Worked with my friend against a very similar company. It went very very well. The company, between both attorneys and 3 others they flew in from Colorado...tally they paid just over $250,000.
PS. Please not all problems shown are right now...and the dates on the problems over 6 months ago. Also, I think my attorney has the contract but I DO have these 2 attachment, they are playing games. The bill says Safeguard Security, but the log in print of my status also shows SHS (Safe Home Security). Top left corner.

Got sales call from Safe Home; decided to try them. They came out too early and I wasn't home yet or ready for them to come. The person who came told me that he was not even close to prepared for the job he was given, even though I told them all the windows and doors as well. He could not answer basic questions about my systems other than "this one is wireless," however, that wasn't my question.
The guy has to come back and he said that he didn't think I would have the "free installation" b/c of the need for all the windows (despite me giving the number of windows/doors I have). I told him "the person on the phone said it didn't matter it was all covered," and he said, "Well that might be the case." I told him it would be the case or there would be no business interaction b/c several companies have called to get our business and we have the opportunity to get a good deal. He stated multiple times that the middle persons who set up the call and sales pitch had nothing to do with him, that they don't work for the company, they are a "middle man."
Not taking any responsibility for the services that got them the business in the first place. I'm glad the guy had to leave and didn't have the supplies necessary to do the job, I haven't even gotten a callback. Based on the interaction alone and the lack of communication and continuity from Safe Home, I will NOT use this company. No one called me to tell me that my front door alarm was going off. Safe Home Security sent me an e-mail!!! They actually sent me 2 e-mails telling me my alarm was going off! I cannot explain how disturbed I was to read that this event this took place over 2 hours ago. I cannot believe they didn't call me immediately, directly on my cell phone which is the number I provided them as the 1st call. They did however call my home phone, which the answer machine recorded 37 attempts by them. I'm floored and a bit angry that they didn't call me directly on my cell phone. On top of that, there is no callback phone number listed in the e-mail, only a Reference #.
I called into customer service, and I'm again surprised to find that there is not an option to speak to someone regarding an alarm event. I chose option 2... Customer service, and was promptly put on hold, and then hung up on. Called back, and spoke to someone who was very apologetic, but could offer no explanation for why I wasn't called. He did suggest that I speak to his Manager, who was currently on the phone but advised me to leave a message and he promised the Manager would call me back. I'm still waiting for that return phone call. I did not sign up with this company, I signed up with Security One and was extremely pleased with their Customer Service. Then I received a call saying there is no service guy available - it will be three weeks before someone can come because they are too busy in other areas. I was also told that since my contract is up - I will have to pay for the battery myself and also for the service call. Later I called the office again to change my credit card auto payment- I was told that the change cannot be done until 2 weeks later. I signed up with Security One two years ago. I was recently told that Safe Home Security had bought my contract. My payments are automatically withdrawn and nothing changed so I was unaware. Recently there was an issue with my system. I had been ill and hadn't reported it. As luck would have it someone called to get me to renew my contract. I told the person on the phone that I would renew with the tech when he fixed my alarm. She said the visit would be free because I was renewing. I asked if they could come the next day which was Veterans Day and I was off work. She said she needed to email tech. No one showed up and no one called me. I call back on Tuesday the following week. I was told they could fix problem on phone. Not only could they not fix the problem but made it worse.
Then I was told three weeks for a service call. I ask to speak with a supervisor and I was told the only person higher than the person I was speaking to was the owner. I said then have the owner call me. Of course no phone call. I decided that I may need some of the equipment replaced. I called customer service to find my local office so I can just change our equipment and be done. The customer service person told me they didn't know the address. Unbelievable! Then she transferred me to a supervisor. He was rude. He told me my appointment was never confirmed. I didn't have a service ticket in. He tried to put words in my mouth. He called me intimidating. He said they were one of the largest alarm companies in the world but they only have one tech in my area and he is only available on Thursdays, which I was never told before. This Thursday was Thanksgiving so I would need to wait another week.
The bottom line is I pay this company monthly to monitor my alarm system. If the system isn't working they can't monitor it. If I am paying for alarm service that is because I feel I need it. When I report a problem I expect it to be taken care of in a courteous and timely manner, the same way I pay my bill each month. I decided I want out of my contract. I was told to send in a letter now but I had to keep paying until August when my contract expire. If I didn't send in a letter my contract will be automatically renewed.
I never chose this company. After reading the reviews I would have never chose them. There should be a way I could end this contract. They are not protecting me and my family if I have faulty equipment and have to wait weeks for them to replace it. After reading reviews not only will I have to wait weeks but I will have a big bill to accompany my wait. All these people do is collect a check. If my alarm goes off they call the cops. In the two years it's went off once by mistake and no one notified me. They said they didn't have my cell. When I signed up I provided my cell as well as my son's. They said they called the house. Obviously I wasn't at home. I have had alarm service since the 90's and never had a problem.

We were first involved in this situation via our contract and involvement with Point Home security. It seems that there are others in our position. Point Home Security was a sham of a company, which could never get billing straight, and which did not ever answer the phone or return voice mails. Evidently they were bought out of bankruptcy by SHS, which is not surprising. We thought we were out of the woods as SHS could at least get the billing straight, but not so.
Oddly enough, when our 3-year contract with PHS ran out in 8/2016, SHS cancelled our contract without inquiring whether we wanted to continue service, which I thought was rather unusual. Usually companies want to keep charging you. I looked at other security companies but everyone wanted $2K up front for all new equipment so I contacted SHS to continue service at 1/2 the former price as the equipment was all paid for. This was finalized in 9/2016 and I thought all was good. However in 10/2016 the Alarm.com APP stopped working and after several calls to them they pointed the finger at SHS. I called SHS 3 times (at least they do answer the phone) and was told each time that the problem would be fixed with Alarm.com and I would be contacted when that was accomplished, which never happened.
I just called them for the 4th time and now they say they are discontinuing to work with Alarm.com and need to switch me over to Quantum, and that requires a second service call. So it has taken 4 weeks and 7 calls to Alarm.com and SHS and I still have to deal with scheduling another service call (they came out when I re-upped service in 9/2016 already), and evidently have to deal with another APP. Just a huge disappointment. We knew PHS was a dog and now it looks like SHS is no better. By the time this is over I will have made 10 telephone calls and dealt with two service calls and I don't know when it will be done with. Something like this should have been fixed with the first call or two. I, and I assume anyone else, doesn't have time to deal with inconsistent and poor customer service. I would urge everyone to avoid SHS like the plague and start with a reputable security company with good customer service and prompt follow up.

Not competitive. 2) When we retired, sold our large home, and moved into a rented retirement home SHS would now allow us to cancel our contract. They are unbending! You would regret ever doing business with them. What if you lost your job, were transferred, or otherwise needed to move? You would very much regret having used this company.

This is a bad company through and through. I had a new (upgraded) system installed a few months ago. The alarm has gone off in the middle-of-the-night almost a dozen times since it was installed. I have not been able to get the system serviced. They claim to have no record of any service calls that I made. An imbecile named Princess described herself as a manager and was unbelievably rude and insulting. If nine other customers give glowing reviews compared to my one extremely negative review, just keep in mind that 10% of the sample feels that the company stinks and does not keep their home secure. The worst of the worst.

They pretended to be my old security company, when I signed I figured that was another different company, but they offered me a "GOOD DEAL", so I accepted to change, they made the installation, they did not install it right, they came like three more time to fix the installation, but never worked anyways, and now they want me to pay, for 6 months of service, which service?? I want to cancel, but I have to pay too much money, they promise me to send technicians to fix the system, but nobody shows, I'm so disappointed and angry. Is there something I can do? It is not fair that they treat us like that and take our money for nothing. If somebody find the way, please let me know.

They prey on the elderly with their high powered sales tactics that talks people into buying these systems, but fail to make sure they are aware they are signing a 5 year contract that cannot be broken. The system does not work properly either. Alarms going off in the middle of the night is extremely disturbing to the elderly too. My sister-in-law has been in a nightmare with these people for the past 3 yrs and they refuse to cancel the contract when I know the equipment is more than paid for. The "monitoring" part is a joke. We signed up for SHS years ago... We were happy with them until we called to cancel the service. We had the service for 7-8 years, and we were on a month to month basis. We told them we wanted it cancelled in September and we refused to pay further. They said we signed a contract in August, which was a lie! In October, we switched companies. SHS started calling us 2-3 times per day, as late as 9:00 pm! I told them I had cancelled the service and to stop calling. They tried to tell us that we renewed the contract automatically so we could not cancel and would have to pay 1 year of services to cancel. Then they said we needed to do a letter 60 days in advance of the contract renewing...
I called to cancel the last week of August 2015, we signed up in October 2006 or 2007. When I called today, they threatened to take us to court, and was extremely rude, like the other people we have dealt with! In August 2015, I received a series of emails from Safe Home Security Inc, my home security alarm company, to sign up an online document to upgrade my alarm system. I initially ignored these emails till I got a phone call from one of the representative from this company. He told me the signature on the document is for the upgrade of the alarm system. I found time from my busy schedule to connect to the web link and electronically signed the document without completely reading the document. This was supposed to be one of the biggest blunders that I seem to have committed. Somewhere in the document there was 48 month contract was listed.
Ever since I signed that contract and after the system was upgraded, my alarm system does not seem to be monitored by this company. I discovered this a few weeks after that upgrade when there was a false alarm at home, due my kids (there will be frequent false alarms at my residence because of the fact I activate my alarm system before I go to bed at night and my kids run into the sensors without switching them off, in the morning). I did not receive any call from the company's monitoring representative. I called them up to inquire and then they said that they are going to look into it call me back. I never got a call from them.
Ever since then they have not responded to at least 5 false alarms. I have called them several time to complain about this and they have not rectified it till today. They have been charging my credit card every month. Last month, I asked them to stop the service and I issued a stop payment on my credit card. Now they have sent me a letter to refer my case to the collection agency. This company is one of the worst service providers I have come across. I am planning to take this legally with the help of an attorney. I would sincerely suggest others to be extra cautious with such companies. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

On 2/8/2016 I was contacted by a customer service rep. from my home alarm company (Safe Home Security, Safeguard America, Silverline Security, etc. etc.). Apparently this company goes by several different names. Anyway I was told that my alarm system needed to be upgraded and wanted to know a good time for a technician to be at my house to do this upgrade. Of course they never mention anything about trying to sneak a new 60-month contract for me to sign by the technician doing the work, which I refused to sign.
The technician then called the alarm company's main office and he handed me his phone to talk with a supervisor on the other end. The supervisor said that I needed to sign the contract because the upgraded 4G card was a couple hundred dollars, I told him to tell the technician to take it out and I would not be paying for any upgrade equipment on a system that the alarm company is responsible for making sure it works the duration of the contract.
Now I just notice that they ACH debit my bank account an additional $199.00 (assuming this is what covers the cost of the 4G card). I contacted them to find out why they did this and they told me this was the reason and if I didn't sign a new contract (60-month) I would be responsible for the 4G wireless card installed. I'm currently working with my bank to dispute the $199 charge to my account by the alarm company without my authorization. Consumers beware, apparently other alarm companies are doing the same. I can't believe these alarm companies are getting away with deceiving their customers and their trust. I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General and whomever listens, there has got to be something illegal about this.

You can't blame a company for one bad salesperson especially when they may be independent contractors, but you can judge the company on how they handle the situation when it is brought to their attention. My elderly parents were convinced to switch alarm companies when they still had 6 months of service on their old contract - which was prepaid in full. They didn't understand the terms of the new contract and thought they made it perfectly clear what they wanted and how much they would pay.
I contacted Safe Home Security and spoke to a very nice young lady. She was respectful and wanted to help us. However, she did not have the authorization/power to complete our request. I was referred to a second person, a supervisor. I called for 3 days and left messages for the supervisor but never got a return call. So I climbed the organizational ladder to one of the department directors. I got immediate help from him and I was told to send him a letter explaining my situation and that he would send it to the right person. I sent the letter the same day and one day later I received a call from the local company.
The local company reviewed the situation and was trying to help me. I had requested a full termination of the contract. The representative from the local company - Global Alarm Protection - was again very professional and handled my situation extremely well. After some conversation, I was able to terminate the contract. I am very pleased with these companies willingness to listen to the entire situation and make a decision that is best for all.

I've had Safe Home Security since 2001 and up until the past year or so have been satisfied with the system, the customer service and the technicians. That has all changed. They came out to my house to update my security panel. I asked that they adjust or remove the motion detector because I have dogs that set it off. They said they had disconnected it from the office... they hadn't. Another call to customer service to request another tech come out and at least adjust the motion detector so the dogs don't set it off. I was scheduled for Jan 14, 2016 between 2-6. They never showed up. I called back to reschedule and they wanted to come out on Jan 21, 2016 between 2-6. I told them that I had a dentist appt that afternoon until after 3:30 and needed another day. The female on the phone said that was alright. She could book the appt for between 4-5. I thanked her very much and took the appt.
Fast forward to Jan 21st. I had just left the dentist office and my emergency contact... my son Mike... called me to tell me that they had called him and told him they would be at my house within a half hour. It was 1:30 and they weren't suppose to arrive until after 4pm. Needless to say because I couldn't make it home in time they cancelled my appt. I call Customer Service to tell them that the appt was suppose to be between 4-5. I was placed on hold and was hung up on 3 times within 45 minutes. The 3rd time I had called I spoke with Inez and she insinuated I was lying and that they would never schedule from 4-5. I told her they had and she said no they didn't. She was yelling at me so I asked to speak with a manager. I was put on a dead line and held for over 15 minutes before realizing that she did not transfer my call.
Out of the blue 2 weeks later I was called to confirm I had a tech coming out the next day. I knew nothing about it but said I'd be home. The tech showed up and couldn't enter his code into my security panel... He also couldn't get anyone to answer the phone at SHS to help him. He did change out my motion detector but didn't align it properly so again no motion detector. As he left he told me to call SHS the next day to make sure that my alarm system was set up properly because he has been pushing the buttons trying to get into it. I've left messages for them to call me back for a few days now and still no call back. I called the manager Manuel... got his voice mail a few time and as yet have not heard back from him either.
In the meantime I don't know if my alarm system or monitored smoke detectors are even working properly and I can use the motion detector because it's not set up right. Please help me. And when I called to cancel, the representative did not say anything to me about my contract or account information. So now when I have moved, I am hearing of all these consequences and stuck paying for services I am not using and do not have. The representative and director Kris ** was horrible and have no regard for their customer. I would not recommend their service, not even to my worst enemy. STAY AWAY!!! Service is not even worth the waste. I basically paid 2 years for poor horrible service. Your house can do without services if they are the company of choice.

Avoid SHS at all costs. If you are involved with them now, beware of their ethics (or lack of them). This company appears to have a specialty in misleading or scamming people (especially seniors) into contracts then making it virtually impossible to get out of. They have no scruples about reporting negative information to credit agencies and damaging credit ratings then harassing people for payment.
On April 19, 2011 we made the mistake of switching from ADT to Safe Home Security. The performance and equipment functioned acceptably until October 8, 2014. On October 16, 2014 a service call was made to repair what was a communication problem between the equipment and SHS. We were given a paper to sign that we were told was an acknowledgement of the service. We were never told, either in setting up the service or when the paperwork was presented that the fine print included a contract extension of 5 years. We would never have agreed to that commitment.
On May 1, 2014 we requested cancellation of our service verbally and were told all we had to do was send them a written request for cancellation. A letter was written to SHS and mailed that day. In May, we had two phone calls with SHS regarding our cancellation request. The last conversation was with Chris **, Customer Service. He was adamant that he explained to us on October 8, 2014 that we would be responsible for a five-year contract. He further asserted that he had taped the call, would forward an audio file of the recording to my clients by email and in the interim he would discuss the termination request with the company owner. No audio file or follow up response from Mr. ** or any representative of SHS was ever received.
Since then, we have blocked payments to SHS and have received monthly invoices from SHS. We have sent two additional letters to SHS (July 7 and September 19) regarding our reasons for cancellation and stopping payment. Our attorney has also sent a letter (September 2) to SHS. On September I noted that SHS had sent negative information to Equifax. This resulted in a drop in our credit rating from Excellent to Fair. We are now so upset with SHS, we are looking at personally suing SHS for fraud no matter what it costs us.

Hey guys, as many of you know this alarm company is just a scam, that sadly I fell for. My 3 year contract was over and even though I sent a cancellation letter a month before and an email, they told me I couldn't cancel that it was too late, that they never received my letter or email. Now I was wondering if I refuse to sign a contract and pay the cancellation fee of $700, would this affect my credit in anyway? Nowhere in my contract do I see my ssn being used. And I hate to leave it like that, but it's bs what they do.

Now I am being told I have to wait and pay for another full year because the is 37 days ahead and not the complete 60 days! Ok! My contract also says 60 months and my 60 months is up Oct. 9, 2015. I no longer want to participate with this alarm company due to my alarm going off during every power outage and storms. It has not served me well for the monies I have had taken out of my checking account every month.
It's like a scam that I am being forced to let them take out for another year past my 5 year contract because I sent my letter of cancellation in 37 days ahead of time instead of the full 60 days. Warning do not deal with this company!! All viewers we need to get reporters and legal folk to look into this matter immediately!! Horrible business. They keep telling me the wrong date to when I can cancel. I finally get to the date and send in my termination letter. Called back to make sure everything went through and it did go through. They said that I was mistaken and that I was automatically enrolled again for another year because I was late getting my letter in. I told them that I was not late and they said I had to get the letter there before March. They told me Sept. Now it's March.
So because they lied to me, I am stuck with these people for another year. I don't want the service and I have been trying to cancel for 4 years now. I am so frustrated with this corporation. So because I don't want this service, they requested that I pay them almost $450 to end my service. They have no ethics and are a disgrace. I have been through more war with this company than on the battlefield in Afghanistan. For a person who is a young disabled veteran, that is a lot of money. In 2008, my wife and I subscribed to "Monitronics" security service for the installation of an alarm system into our home in Puerto Rico. Monitronics (out of Dallas, TX) was to be the monitoring company. In 2013, we had the alarm company (now Alpha One) technician come out to service our system in the home. Upon finishing the service, I signed what I thought was a "service tag" from the technician. It turned out to be an additional three year contract through April 2016. And the monitoring service was changed or sold off to Safe Home Security. We had no issues with our account since we were set up with automatic payment. Now we want to stop service on our vacant property, but, SHS now want to enforce it until April 2016...

I fulfilled my 3 year contract and called them to inform them that I needed to cancel as I was moving out of the country. They were rude and told me that I could NOT cancel as they had already automatically renewed my contract without notifying me. I have since sold my house and now live abroad. They have reported me to a credit agency and said that I owe them hundreds of dollars. I moved from one state to another and the Safe Home Security burglar alarm was reinstalled a few days ago in my new house at a cost of $200. I learned today that the alarm service is worthless in my new house because the alarm can be unplugged from the only landline in the house which is about two inches from the alarm unit. The supervisor I spoke to on the phone today agreed that the alarm wouldn't call the central monitoring center if anyone unplugged it from the phone line, although there would still be an alarm sound which would be heard in the house (only). The installer said nothing whatsoever about this. He said he would get the cell phone unit if it were him, but he didn't inform me that the burglar alarm is now essentially worthless with my landline.
The supervisor wanted me either to pay $20 more a month for the cell phone unit (I have one year left on my 5-year contract) or pay $8 a month more with a new 3-year contract. He said there was absolutely nothing else he could or would do for me. So, I have a worthless alarm system that I'm forced to pay for another 12 months with the company attempting to twist my arm behind my back to get a longer contract and pretending that no matter what, the yard signs and window decals are good enough. What a rotten company! And this is after 4 years of paying every month for this "service" and $200 to reinstall this worthless system.

I signed a contract with this company and was never late on any payments. I signed the contract August 2012. I completed the contract and contacted the company to request cancellation. The first time I was told “No you can't cancel because your contract is not over until November 2015.” I assured the woman I was speaking with I had signed the contract in August. She claimed I was incorrect so I started looking for my copy of the contract and indeed I was correct, so I contacted this company a second time.
The person I spoke with once again was very rude, started yelling at me saying I couldn't cancel and if I wanted to I had to write them a letter requesting cancellation. I asked her plenty of times to just cancel the service. She finally said "Don't you speak English?" At that point I was very upset so I requested to speak with a supervisor. She stated there was no supervisor available and proceeded to give me a supervisor’s name and phone number. I hung up with this woman and tried to contact the supervisor at the number I was given. That number was a fake number.
I called a third time and spoke with a gentleman whom stated he was a supervisor. I told him about the incident with the previous representative. He started by apologizing and I asked him to please cancel my service. He started off by saying my home owner’s insurance was gonna go up if I cancelled it. I stated that was fine. I still wanted to cancel. He then proceeded to offer me 5 months free of service and monthly payment. After that was $19 a month. I asked if that would renew my contract he said it would be a "different type of contract". I refused the offer so this gentleman started yelling at me as well saying he wasn't going to cancel my service and I could email a letter to request cancellation. I have emailed the letter plenty of times and have gotten no response. I have contacted my bank and blocked them from my account. I refuse to pay for a service I have asked to cancel plenty of times. I have had this company for 5 years going into year 6. The first 3 years were pretty good - no complaints, alarm worked perfectly. After my 3-year contract was up I was offered an upgrade if I re-signed with them; which I did. Now this is where the issue starts - my system has not worked for the last 4 months or so. A tech was suppose to come out 3x after 5pm twice he came before 5pm. The last time I never got a call to set up an appt. I received two calls asking if the tech had called and I advised no. Had not heard from anyone for the last month and half. I sent in a cancellation request to advise they had broken the contract as I have not had service in 4 months. I got a call and a letter advising I couldn't cancel because my 3 years was not up. Time went on and finally got what I knew I would get - a past due bill.
I contacted them and was told would get a call back which I did. Spoke to a "manager" who is trying to get me to upgrade my equipment as the one I got 2 years ago is absolute and when I upgrade I would get another 3 years. She could speak to her supervisor and maybe get it to 2 years. Are they kidding? I'm trying to get out of this mess and you want me to sign up for another 2 years. Don't think so. Anyway "manager" tell me to think about it and she will give a callback. I have thought about it and the answer is still no - I have not heard back from the "manager". I am filing a class action lawsuit with the CT AG but afraid while this is going on my credit will be ruin. I can't afford to pay for a service I don't have. Any suggestions on what to do?

Last year, as my contract was ending I attempted to cancel this service about 1 month prior to the end of my current contract. I was inform that, even though I did not agree to continue the service, my contract was automatically renewed for 1 year. I tried to cancel this service and for months went back and for the senior account executive, I lost and must still pay for this year.
During my arguments with them I informed them that there was a very good chance that I would be moving and I was told that if I move I can cancel the contract. WRONG, I am moving but will continue to own this property and set it up as a rental. The tenant does not wish to have the security service, but I cannot cancel service because I am not selling the property. When they tried to get me to agree to a long term contract I was told I could cancel if I moved. In my talking with this person I voice my concerns stating, in writing, that I believed that when the time came for to move I would have problems with cancellations. As it turns out, I was right.
This company has so many little I-GOT-YA's in their contract and rules, that they do not clearly explain when you deal with them. It is almost impossible to get out of dealing with them, even when you do the things asked of you, because there is always some new I-GOT-YA. It is no wonder that this business has a rating with the BBB that is in the toilet based on complaints.
PLEASE, for the sake of your Credit Score and well being do not deal with this company. They are crooks that hide behind written words that most people refer to as the "Small Print." Some of this small print is in the pamphlets and papers you get after you have already signed with them. Don't fall for this unethical practice. NOT A TRUSTWORTHY OR HONORABLE COMPANY, AT ALL.

Then a second time, I called to confirm the install. To my surprise (not really), there was no install scheduled. To add to the insult, they actually talked me into upgrading my contract from 34.95 to 54.95 and waived me for one month. They also did not inform me of my options. I was told that this was a 5 year contract. I was not told that this could be a 3 or 5 year contract. Then I was billed the first month after being promised a waiver of the first month.
This company does nothing but lie and generate a bill. Do not sign a contract with this company. I have seen absolutely no proof that they do anything except automatically bill your account. We are attempting to dispute the erroneous "unsecured loan charge off" on our credit report. This is not an unsecured loan. It was an alarm service that did not perform as their contract & salesperson stated from inception. The company salesperson would not return our calls. We called for 7 months with no response. When contacting the corporate office, they could not even find us in their database. A complaint was filed with the BBB, to which the company was unresponsive. The final straw was when our alarm went off at 4am. The signal was from my 6-yr old's bedroom window. We did not receive a call from the alarm company on our cell or home phone or thru the alarm control system affixed to the wall, police were not called either.
Thank God the issue was just the alarm unit becoming unattached from the window, and not an intruder. The alarm company never made contact with us to inquire as to why the alarm went off. We called them the next afternoon, and requested someone come out to fix the unit. Three weeks later a repairman showed up at our door. We had no idea he was even coming out. No one bothered to call and schedule an appt or give us a call to let us know he was coming. This company was not going to protect our family. This company is ruining our credit.

I had both my Amex and bank debit cards cutoff in Dec 2014 due to fraudulent charges. On January 28, 2015, I received a letter stating I was past due on my SHS account. After receiving this nasty letter and I did not even get a courtesy call asking if there was an issue for my auto payment being denied after over 4 1/2 years, I decided this company was a scam and wanted to end my service. So, I sent my cancellation notification on 1/29/15. Then, I began this journey attempting to pay my account in full and close it.
I contacted customer service with Safe Home Security attempting to send my cancellation letter. Once I knew it was received, a customer service rep, **, stated I had missed the 60-day cutoff mark and would have to renew my agreement for another year. I clearly stated my cancellation letter was dated 1/29/2015 and my 5-years ended 4/15/2015, clearly more than the 60 day notice was given, and I needed final payment amount so I could pay my account and close bit out.
After numerous phone calls, going in circles with the customer service, no one could help me and was continually told I would need to be passed to the cancellation dept. Finally, first week in February, I was told **, in the cancellation dept would help me make my final payment in full for the remainder of my 60 days. When I was finally able to speak with **, she tried everything to get me to reconsider and even told me to sleep on it, and would not take no for an answer, nor take my payment, but would call me back in 2 days. She did call, not in 2 days, but 3, and I was not available to talk.
Finally, after a few more calls, a week went by and attempts to called back to pay my final bill, but needed an amount, but, once again, was told to wait and think about it. In the meantime, I went online, paid amount of bill less late payment fee and service fee on a bill dated 1/25/15, that was for $194.94, I paid $164.96! on 3/5/15 because was tired of being put off. I have my cancelled check and confirmation of my payment. I did not pay the service fee since SHS was partially to blame for delaying the payment, 2 x with ** asking me to sleep on it and refused to take my payment over the phone and after feeling frustrated.
Then, another bill for $330.86, another service fee and late fee and it did not show my payment. Again, I called SHS, was told I would now need to speak with ** as she was now over my account. After several attempts of phone calls, and can't leave a message because if they are not at their desk, the phone rings back to customer service, and in a circle of getting nowhere. Even spoke with **, but stated he could not help me because ** was over my account. At this point, I am angry, then ** states the system is down and can't see my account to assist me. ** did call me back, but I was busy and could not answer at the time she called.
Finally, I spoke with ** on 5/18, in the evening, requested full amount for payoff. ** provided the new amount less the months service I was being charged for on the bill in hand by this time, after my official agreement ended because I had given 60 day notification to cancel my agreement effective 4/15/15, but would not remove the late fees on the bill or service fees. I agreed to pay the disclosed amount, only wanting this to be over. I advised ** I wanted confirmation of my payment and written notification my account was cancelled and paid in full. ** stated I would not receive my notification of payment or cancellation until 11:30 AM EST, the following day. I paid reluctantly because I really wanted immediate confirmation. I received the email at 12:30 PM or so the following day, 5/19/15, via email. I thought, finally, this nightmare was over.
Well, today, 6/2/2015, I receive another bill for $97.27 dated 5/25/15. This statement reflects the amount of my previous bill $200.32 less $114.34 showing I still owe $97.27, and another late fee and finance charges added. Why does this bill not reflect my the actual amount I paid while on the phone with ** and I have confirmation of it. Why was I even receiving this bill? My account was paid in full and closed. This is the 2nd time the statement does not reflect the actual amount I paid. I am not sure why or where my other $'s went or were applied on either occasion. Why am I still getting a bill, 2 months after my service ended and after I have documentation of my account closed and paid from **, via email?
I feel this truly is unjust, unprofessional, and should be against the law. I would like to have my account closed. I feel this is now harassment and I feel I need compensation for my time attempting to resolve this without any type of customer satisfaction. What has happened to customer satisfaction? Why does this bill not reflect the amount I actually paid?
I have my original contract and it was setup on auto pay for the entire contract since 2010 until fraudulent charges hit my card, causing the card to be cancelled in Dec. 2014. I forgot my SHS was setup for auto pay on the card that was cancelled until I received this nasty letter stating my account was past due and it would be sent to the credit bureau if I did not pay. I guess this was God's way of reminding me to close and send my cancellation notice to SHS. The letter from SHS is dated 1/19/15. Just got off of the phone trying to cancel their service. They told my husband that we are contracted to them until 2017. We've been with them for 8 years so our original 3 year contract has since expired. The guy starts yelling (literally) at my husband telling him they are not going to cancel the contract because we renewed it for 5 years back in 2012. This is not true. When you call to cancel they take it personally. The conversation was quite unsettling. My husband called back to speak to a manager and the person that answered hung up on him. I'm guessing they're all in one room together. Beware of this company.

This company claims it provides security, but they provide no service. Months ago, the alarm box started beeping at all hours of the day and night. The only way to stop it was to re-set it. Then it would keep quite for a few hours and start in again. I called service and after a couple of weeks they sent someone out to fix the problem. His fix was to take the sensor off the front door, leaving the house unprotected. The annoying beeping did stop however.
When I contacted the company to fix the problem by re-installing a sensor, the wait period was 3 weeks and by the time they could come, I was out of town. When I returned I tried to schedule another service. Again, the wait was weeks. Meanwhile, my mother, whose house was the place with the faulty system, died. I called and cancelled. They agreed to cancel when I did so. However, they continue to try to collect on a monthly basis. Since my mother's death, the account has been closed. Looks like I'm not the only unsatisfied customer. I think there is a basis for a class action lawsuit. Anyone else agree?

When I called SHS last month stating that I no longer owned my home & needed to cancel my service, the rep stated that I need to send a certified letter stating that I was no longer the owner & I will not be penalized. I faxed the requested information over the same day. Weeks later I received a letter from their Collections Manager stating that I owe them $999 for canceling before my contract expired. I mentioned the conversation I had with a previous rep & he mentions that I'm not being penalized, it's what left on my contract that I have to pay even though I don't live there.
I have 2 options in order not to be in default. Pay it all now in full or decelerate the payments & continue the monthly payments until my contract expires 2 years from now. This company is a rip off & I definitely will not be promoting their business. It's disgusting how companies can take advantage of their customers. Had I known their horrible reputation, I definitely would have never signed a contract at all.

I had this system for three years. I found out after the system was installed there was a three-year commitment I paid. I had problems with it regularly. The battery pieces of the system were glued on and started falling off fairly early on. I called them and they offered no help. In Sept 2014 at 2 am the alarm went off. It was not armed at the time. I called the company and when they could find no way to turn off the extremely loud noise, they told me where to look for a way to unplug the system. I would never have been able to do this without their help as it was well-hidden. I cancelled the system that day. I sent three letters over the next months because they kept harassing me for money.
They finally said in November 2014 that they would stop and accept my cancellation. Six weeks later it started again. I was asked again to send a letter. This time I emailed it. This is the second time I have had service problems with Safe Home Security and no one came out. This last situation was an emergency situation where the panel went completely dark - could not see anything and could not activate numbers or away or stay. I'm thinking the alarm was not activated. Once someone went in and out of door, alarm went out and we were unable to deactivate the alarm. Called Safe Home Security for Service Tech, told me they had no one to come out to service alarm. I had also called the day before which was New Year's Eve. Service Tech told me they would have someone call me the next day. I asked if office was open and the person said yes. I waited thinking someone would call not knowing there was a real problem until someone actually opened the door around 5pm New Year's Day, having to get up to go to work at 4:00am.
A Supervisor got on the phone, telling us to unplug the alarm. We kept telling him there was not a cord we could unplug and they insisted that there was and that he could not do anything for us. I informed him I would not get off the phone until this issues was resolved and he told me I was not cooperating. Finally my son got on the phone and asked him if something could be done. We could not go in and out of door with alarm going off, as I had informed him we had neighbors above me with a little kid, three years old and that I had to leave for work at four AM. He didn't seem to care cause there was nothing he could do.
He advised my son to unscrew several wires, which I do not have phone service, and as he was unscrewing the wires you could see fire popping. He also had me pulling out the battery trying to tell him what wires were leading to where and both of us sweating and my heart beating and both very nervous. Finally got wires unscrewed and when I finally talked to someone, I refused to allow someone to come out because I'm canceling service with Safe Home Security. They are now turning the situation back on me saying I'm refusing service. Yes, I am refusing service, who wouldn't?

I brought this to SHS's attention and asked to have my service canceled as I could no longer afford it. I was told they could not cancel service because I was under contract for 5 years. The rep then told me he could lower my monthly fee to make it more affordable. When I called back to confirm I was told they could not do that for me. A few months later I called again to ask about canceling my service and was told no, but that I would get one month waived.
Yesterday I was told by one of my credit card companies that my line of credit was cut by 55% due to a delinquent account. I checked my credit report and found that it was SHS, even though I was under the impression I was caught up due to the free month of service I was promised. When I called to complain SHS was totally unsympathetic and refused to revise their report to the credit agency. This credit card limit decrease was ultimately the result of one late payment, which I didn't realize was late, and I don't feel that a late $29 payment should be penalized with a $14000 credit limit decrease.

I wish I could put zero stars. First FYI there is a lawsuit FROM THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE of CT pending against this company for dishonest business practices so let that be your first warning. So it's not a frivolous lawsuit. For me it's been a nightmare since April and it's now the end of October. I'm too tired to write it all but suffice it to say, I was promised a lot of equipment since I had their service for over 9 years and had NEVER gotten any new equipment. They scheduled an install, the installer came out and told me to get it from Best Buy and that he didn't think all this was free and I should call the company. I called the company. Collin said he should have known it was free since the monthly amount was $60 and he scheduled it again. Installers were a no show. Called Collin again. He said the contractors get paid the same amount regardless of the install so cameras were too much bother. He said he would get the owner to install it personally so this didn't happen again. But of course it did. They were a no show 2 more times.
Additionally I had requested Collin to send me the contract so if they argued the price I would have the contract which he also did not supply. I escalated to a manager. He said he would personally supervise Collin and if he himself handled they wouldn't learn. One more failed attempt. So the manager handled. Well I got the contract but again no installers showed up and no one installed my equipment. This was July. Mind you I started this process in April. I gave up and sent them a letter in beginning of September telling them they were clearly incapable of providing this service and to release me from all my obligations. No one called.
I called them 3 days ago, it's now Oct. 31st and I get more begging, pleading and promising things will be different. I have heard this before many times so no I want to be released. Never once will he tell me the terms of my contract or what it will take to get out just more harassing and ignoring my requests. I do my research and find I HAVE BEEN BEING BILLED THE $60/mth for the service I never received!!!! My old bill was $25/th. So now it is officially FRAUD. I have left a message for the Asst. Attny General handling the case any hour ago. Funny how they knew the company EXACTLY and patched me right through! I suggest if they have not released you from your contract (file by certified mail so they can't lie) 60 days before you are up and when they don't release you which I feel confident they won't file with the attny general's office in your own state. Good luck!

Safe Home security went into my checking account without my consent and illegally stole $847.00 on October 16, 2014. I did not give permission to authorize this transaction and I was not informed of any extra charges to my account other than my $42.00 monthly fee for the alarm system which was installed back in 2008. I called Safe Home Security a few months back during the summer because I was trying to save money and wanted to cancel the service that I had since 2008. I informed the person I was speaking with that I had personally installed a camera system that monitored my house from the outside with video surveillance 24 hours a day and recorded footage of movement and even took pictures and sent to my cellphone. One of the managers got on the phone and proceeded then ask me why I was canceling my service. I told him about my camera system and he played on the fact that I liked technology and asked me about my system. He asked me questions about what my system had and compared it to theirs. I insisted that I just wanted to cancel the service and wanted to save money.
He wouldn't kept talking to me telling me about how elaborate their new system was using technical terms that I had no knowledge of and said that their new cameras were fancy and could be do more than mine and the new unit on they would install on my wall was touch screen and could be programmed with my houses heating and cooling and he would throw in a free moving coupon in the event that I should move I could take the system with me for free. When I still refused he lowered the price and said what if I could give you all this for the same fee you're paying now. (Somewhere along the line I think he spoke to me so long that I forgot the purpose of my call, to save money.) I agreed to have this new fancy unit installed in my home because the manager I spoke with is a smooth talking con artist that made his product seem like something of the future that I had to have. He explained it to me like it was really elaborate and fancy and impressive. (He pretty much kept me on the phone until I gave in and agreed to get the new unit.) He told me he was going to e-mail me a digital contract that I could E-sign and insisted that I e-sign it immediately so he can book an appointment for his installers to come out.
I e-signed the document and sent the digital contract back to the company. (I didn't even know this was possible btw.) Days later the installers came out and had me sign forms before they began to install the unit. When they pulled the unit out of the box it was nothing like the way the gentlemen on the phone had described. It was my old unit that I currently have on the wall with a tiny window (screen on it). Also the camera monitor the guy on the phone said I was getting was going to be mounted on the inside of my house. I told him I wanted an outside camera. The installers saw the disappointment on my face and asked what was wrong. I told them that I already had a surveillance system that I installed myself and didn't pay any money for. I also told them that I originally called to cancel this service and that guy on the phone talked me into getting this stuff. He told me it was so fancy and new and state of the art and now that I see it there is nothing fancy about it. Plus I thought the camera you all were installing was an outside camera, and it wasn't even a camera. It was a sensor to sense movement which I already had one up from the previous system. They asked me if I still wanted it and I said no.
They contacted the guy that talked me into having the unit installed and put me on the phone with him. I told him that I didn't want it because it wasn't the way he described it to be and I didn't want the service anymore. He then informed me that the form that I e-signed had locked me in and I had 24 hours to cancel. I told him how can you give me 24 hours to cancel something that I never even saw. That wasn't fair and I was tricked into paying for something that I called to cancel and already had and didn't pay anything for. He told me if I already had it why did I agree to it. I told him that I told him I had it and he was the professional that installed these units and knew that it was something I already had and paid no money for and he talked me into having it installed. He pressured me into this agreement and now was telling me that my window to cancel the service had cancelled prior to me even seeing that the product was not as described. The installers got to my house I think 1 day after my window to cancel had expired.
He said that I had to get it and there was nothing I could do at that point. I told him I didn't want it and and didn't want the service at all and wanted to cancel all of the services because it was redundant for me to have my monitoring system that I pay no money for and this one which was the same thing and pay a company $49 a month for. If you are a company in business and a customer has a service that you are charging a fee for but he pays nothing for it why would you continue to talk him into getting it. I didn't know It was the same thing I had. I told the gentleman that this wasn't fair and I didn't want the system. He told me look lets take a day or two and think and then he would call me back. I told him that I didn't want the service anymore. The installers left that day and took all their equipment with them.
On October 18th an overdraft alert came to my phone and I preceded to go online to see why my account was over drawn. Safe Home Security illegally went into my account without my permission and took out $847.00 for an equipment not returned fee. The same equipment that the installers took with them the day I didn't get the alarm system installed. I called the company on October 18, 2014 and spoke to a representative. She asked if I had returned the equipment that was sent to me but there was no equipment sent to me. The installers came to my house with the unit but never installed it. The woman on the phone told me I had to wait till Monday to talk to the department that handled the charges. I no longer want to be affiliated with them and hope that I can cancel the entire service without being hassled on Monday.

The last communication with their collection department for the last payment was every other day with a call even after I promise to mail the last payment. I was told last year that I had to write a statement asking for my contract to cancel but it was too late last year for me to do so, because October 27th had past . This year I called and ask to cancel and was told to send in the written statement. I sent it in September of this year. I received a letter saying I had to send it the request 60 days prior to the contract renewal date. No one told me this last year when I tried to cancel or in September of this year.
The contract was automatically renewed and I don't want to renew the contract at all. I have repeatedly tried to cancel. I do not wish to have or continue this service but safe home security will not cancel the contract. I told them I will not send in another payment. This is my mother's account and she has Alzheimers. She can't walk, talk, or eat and she has a feeding tube and is bedridden. She has a hospice nurse and someone has to do everything for her. Safe home security is aware of her condition and still will not cancel her contract. I told them I will not pay another bill on the behalf of my mother. They told me it would go to collections and make her credit bad. What can my mother do with credit in her condition that is not expected to improve. I told the supervisor that they are only running up a bill that they are not going to get paid for.

I had two problems with Safe Home Security. I had their contract for 6 years, and when I went to cancel it by phone at the end of the contract within the 60 days, I was told that they needed it in writing. Since it was at the end of the 60 days, they would not honor my request, (even in writing I was told) and I was forced to pay for another year which I did not want. Now that I'm out from under their clutches, they will not reset my access code, to default so that I can have another security company work on my system. Their customer service is horrible, and it galls me that a system I paid for and is in my house, I can't use, unless I replace the main mother board, which is 100s of dollars, I'm being told. This is just not right, and companies like this should be OUT OF BUSINESS. They are suppose to be here to protect you, but instead they screw you.

After being a customer for over 10 years, made my April, May, June, July payments. Payments were not credited to my account. Was told the payments were in a pending status and were now credited to my account at the end of July. Then was offered lots of extras for a new contract with a 3 year renewal. Refused that. In August two payments were returned to my bank and I received a statement showing NO credit of any of 4 payments and I was now getting calls from the collection dept. Called and spoke to someone who told me they were the head of the Collections Dept., only to be told several weeks later, this person was NOT who they represented themselves to be. Faxed copies of my bank statements showing the payments to this person. Emailed him to ensure he received them. That was the last I heard from anyone.
Sent another email to this person after 2 weeks of no response and still nothing. Started calling the CEO every hour with NO response. Finally got one of his admin assistants who would forward me to the head of billing which is where I started and received NO resolution to the situation. Consequences are that I probably now have a black mark on my credit and can get NO response from anyone at the Company. My next actions will be to send the balance of the months that I owe them and put in writing to cancel my contract. Too bad my credit rating will have to suffer for this. Stay VERY, VERY far away from this company and they have several other names that they are using for monitoring companies. NOT worth the trouble!

We originally signed a two year contract with a guy that was canvassing the neighborhood. We were ADT customers at the time but were already shopping for a change in monitoring companies. He said he was with GE and could save us some money on the monthly monitoring fee and would (like ADT) guarantee the system hardware and functionality already in place. This was a hard-wire system that uses a landline, and cell service is poor in our part of the city, entire state (OR) and that he knew very little about the system parts or functioning of it. After multiple visits (that took multiple calls to even arrange) he finally disconnected the whole thing and left. He never returned. Reading the contract I found that we could cancel with 30 days notice. About that time (early 2014) I started investigating this company on the 'net and found legions of angry customers.
So I sent in a formal letter (with delivery receipt received...) telling them to contact me immediately and explained that I considered their service to be canceled by them. That was many months ago. They have sent several strange monthly billing notices with wildly varying amounts demanded, with NO explanation of what any of the $ were for. This unpleasant experience certainly reinforces that you should NEVER do business with a "cold call" solicitor and if someone comes to your door selling anything, do not let them come inside.(!) We have another alarm company, but it is a local one with local references.

I have had Safe insurance since before 2011 when my house was broken into. They were called Pinnacle before. They were horrible as well and sold my contract to Safe without authorization. I think I had a total of 6 months of (OK) service in total in all this time. Their technicians broke my sliding door which is still not full functional. The police department know my house very well due to all the false alarms that trigger off due to faulty equipment. I have had to pay so many fines in false alarms to the police department. When I complain, Safe Security says they have to send a tech out to my house before they can issue any credits. They send subcontractors that are not familiar with their equipment. They don't fix the problem and I miss work.
Now I'm being charged for months of no service at all tech visits that Safe sent out to my house and equipment they had to replace due to faulty equipment and a key chain their tech took and did not return. The company sent me another one after more than 3 months and then charged me for it. I tried to come to an agreement with them just to finish the contract and they agreed to credit the account but I would still be responsible for the tech visits and the equipment exchanged. I said I was not in agreement and requested a supervisor to return my request. *I am still waiting. They threatened to send me to collections.* Stay away from this company. Buy security cameras from BJ's and you and your family will be safer and at least you know if the system works.

My problem is similar to Chris' in CT. I have Safe Home Security monitoring. I had a faulty phone line that went out three times due to rain. My modem connected line worked but the line connected to my security panel did not. The first time this happened, it took me a week to discover that the panel line was out. I never got a call from Safe Home to tell me there was a problem. I have finally had it. I called Safe Home by letter and by phone to cancel the service and was coerced to pay the remainder of the contract. If you have a hard wired alarm system, DO NOT use Safe Home to monitor it. I previously used ADT and never experienced this problem with them. ADT always called to let me know there was a problem.
When I called to cancel Safe Home monitoring, I was told that if the phone line went down, Safe Home would not be aware of this. So I asked John, what if a burglar cut my phone lines while I was away on vacation. He wouldn't have to worry about getting caught as Safe Home would not know that the phone lines had been cut and the burglar was free to go about his business. Don't count on Safe Home to monitor your security system.

If the alarm is going off and they are "monitoring" why aren't the cops coming? So I took a a chance. I activated the system tonight. I went to the wall and cut the wire to the plug. I then opened the case while it started beeping I pulled the wifi wire (it was still beeping and flashing). I then grabbed my needle nose pliers and pulled the battery plug, and the system shut down. 5 hours have passed, I have removed every single piece of equipment from my home and have it sitting on my dining room table, the police have not showed up. The system, although I am paying 50.00 a month to be monitored is not being monitored. I am in a contract in which safe home has backed out of. Now I want out and I am locked in? Please tell me this is not right. I have video of me disconnecting the system while active.

I've had Safe Home Security since 2006. We battled for the first 3 years about communication failures because I had Verizon DSL and when they installed the system, they didn't put a filter on the line. That was finally resolved in 2009 when the contract automatically renewed. Many problems after that and when I sent in my cancellation notice in 2012, they said it was too late to cancel. So got stuck with another 3 years. Contacted my attorney and they said there is not much I can do. Apparently, also, in 2012 Verizon made changes to the land line service which made it incompatible with Safe Home Security's equipment.
Safe Home knew this and didn't do any follow up. I've got a cancellation in with them now to end in May 2015. They said they'd come out and put in another system for free if I signed another 3 year contract. Really?? Or, I could pay another $200 and they'd increase the monitoring fee from $40 to $50 a month. He said they would send someone out to inspect our system and I could change over then. The man came from a distributor from the Philadelphia area, Family First Detection. In March of 2011, someone called from SHS hinted that ADT has been taken over by them & he is calling all old customers asking them to come back. I explained the poor service from ADT. He assured all that has changed and they have improved their services. He made an appointment to come & check the equipment. He "Noah **" met me at my apt (with no additional equipment) on 03/15/2011 & asked me to sign an agreement. I told him I want a call from the company every time the alarm goes off or if it gets cut off & that is the only condition I have. He assured me & even set up a password for when they call. I told him specifically that I will test their service for a short while & I will cancel if they do not comply. He again assured me and told me I can cancel if I am not satisfied & asked me to sign a new contract, said there is nothing new to it. Just sign here, initial there & he has covered all the points verbally, no need for me to read all the minuscule prints.
I signed & wrote him a check for $30 (1st month payment) for him to set up auto payments. Within 24 hours, I tested the system. Turned the alarm on and opened a window & sure enough the alarm sounded. I waited & waited, no call from SHS came in. Repeated this next day & again no call from SHS. I called that day which is 48 hrs after the agreement & spoke to one of their customer service, told them what happened. He said it is because the equipment (I had purchased the equipment from ADT. It was not SHS"s) has a battery. I said. "That does not help me if someone is trying to cut my throat or rob my house. The alarm is blazing & you are relying on the battery?" & this is the same problem I was having with the other alarm company.
I requested the service to be cancelled. That was the last time I heard from them until July 2013 which I rec'd a bill $92.97. Please note that I did not hear from them for over 2 years & no additional monthly payments were deducted from my acct so I assumed that all is well & acct cancelled. I also found out ADT had not gone out of business & and that SHS gave me fraudulent info. They started bombarding me with calls & bills. Since then I have called them several times but no use. I talked to several supervisors & they said that the contract stated I am bound to them for 5 years. I asked them why I was not told that & they point to the contract that it was written there. A contract that the representative told me I do not need to read.
In their last letter dated 04/08/2014 they are asking for $585.63 & threatening they will give the account to a collection agency. I am an honest consumer being taken advantage of by this company. Please also note that in 2012, my cable co. during one of their visit to my house to replace a cable box cut the alarm line so SHS had no way of monitoring the alarm yet here they are trying to collect on services that were not provided. We also had the power lines down for several hours in my area and nobody has ever called my cell phone (emergency phone that SHS has) from SHS. This company needs to be shut down. I signed a 2-year contract with ADT in 2007. Automatic payment for the service was done via credit card. When the 2 years ended, I continued with ADT on a month to month basis. The contract clearly states that 30 days notice is needed to terminate the contract and that a maximum $5.00 fee would be charged for late payment and NO finance charge would be assessed. At some point in time, SHS acquired the contract (I received no correspondence informing me of this).
I lost my credit card in March 2013 and had a new one issued. I forgot to update the payment record for the monitoring service. Consequently when the payment request was made to the old card, it was not paid. 3 months later, SHS mailed me an invoice for over $189.00 which at most should have been for $105.00. I should point out that this was the first time I knew that SHS was my monitoring service. Naturally I disputed the charges. I paid up what I legitimately owed and asked to have the service cancelled. I was told I could not do so until September 2015.
I provided a copy of the contract to SHS showing that I have a 30 days cancellation notice clause and the maximum fees that should be charged; to no avail. I sent several emails and had several conversations with SHS's collection manager. He was very rude and threatening insisting that I pay an additional $160.00 which I refused. He proceeded to tell me that since I will not pay he is going to bill me for $359.00 and that the service would not be cancelled until I pay up. True to his word I got an invoice on 04/21/2014 for said amount. This says to me that SHS is an unscrupulous company.

I called back in June 2013 and asked the same question, I was told at that time the pay off on my account was $133.51. There was a power surge to homes in my neighborhood and I lost several electronic items that could not be placed on surge protectors. One of those was my alarm system. This happened on 1/10. My alarm system was not working for 4 days before I called the company. I never received a phone call asking me why there was no longer a signal from my home. I contacted customer service on 1/14 to request a service call. I was told that the earliest that a technician could come out would be on 1/30. When I continued to balk at the ridiculously long wait, I was finally given a date of 1/25. When the technician arrived, he found that the system was fried and told me that it had to be replaced. He did not have the equipment with him which means that he had to come back. He told me that I had to call the company to schedule another appointment.
When I called back, I was told that the equipment was going to cost me $777.98. When I expressed my astonishment over the unbelievable price, I was told that I could get it at 50% if I signed up for the warranty at $10 per month. Since I still have 30 months left on my contract, I did not consider that a savings as that amounts to $300. My next appointment was set up for 2/11 (now 1 month without service). I was never offered a refund of the monthly monitoring fee and quite honestly, I did not ask for it. I am not trying to have this contract extended even 1 month beyond it's expiration.
My technician was scheduled to come out between 1pm and 5pm. Of course I had to take a half day off work for this. The technician did not arrive until 6pm and needless to say, I was very upset that I missed work when I could have worked an entire day. I did not receive much of an apology except that the technician was caught in traffic. When the technician finished with the repair, he admitted that one part of the system did not have to be replaced but then he was asking me for the full $777.98. When I told him that I was not going to pay the full amount, he called the office and talked to the customer service rep that gave me the estimate. She gave him a new amount but it was still $36 more than it should have been. He then called her back and got the correct amount.
I also want to point out to everyone that the back up battery is not like a normal back up battery. Once it dies, it does not recharge once the power comes back on. No one ever told me this. During the hurricanes over a year ago, my power was out for 6 days. I did not know until this incident that I have not had battery back up since then. By the way, you have to pay another $59 for a new battery.
I wanted to point out several concerns that make me believe that everything in my house will be gone if anyone ever breaks in: I never received a call saying that the company was not receiving a signal when the system went out OR when I have lost power several times and there was no battery backup. I tried to call the phone number listed on the sign and the window stickers and no one ever answered. Probably no longer in service and I never received new signs. I have had several false alarms (door accidentally opened without turning off alarm) and have NEVER received a phone call from the alarm company checking to see if it was a false alarm. The company does not see anything wrong with not having a working system for over a month. Since part of their sales pitch is the fact that homes need to be monitored at all times, I would think that they would not be so nonchalant about my system not working.
I want to say that the customer service rep and the technician were always professional and courteous. They were never rude to me. Even when I complained about how stunned I was about the ridiculous price, the customer service rep was always respectful. I will definitely cancel my service as soon as this contract is up.

I can show proof that my home was transferred out of my name (closing docs or HUD statement) and that I could cancel the service and no buy out fee was mentioned with this option. Today I called and spoke with Conner and Colin. Both of them told me that either option I choose there would be a fee involved. When I asked to see it in writing with these guidelines were for cancellations. I was told by Colin that there are none, it goes by whatever is on your original contract. My contract doesn't state anything about early cancellations. That's why I wanted something in writing from the company. I feel like prices and percentages are made up. There are no set standards when it's not listed on the contract. I did NOT choose this company. My original alarm company merged with them. I want to cancel my service. I want a clear written explanation on how the cancellation policy works for both options. Then I would be willing to pay the necessary and fair amount if need be...

We have been having so much trouble with this company and the people that handle the customer service and collections. We are Very frustrated and feel that we are at the beginning of a nightmare!! I wish I would have read their reviews first! They are So Rude!!!!!!! Do Not do business with Safe Home Security Inc!!!!! The first event we had with them was when our alarm went off (or at least they said it did, we were not home). They called us, we missed their call and when I called them right back, I requested that they don't send the cops to the house because I know it's a false alarm and the girl told me she would try to cancel the order.
A few minutes later, she said she couldn't. It was too late, but I could tell in her voice she did't want to make the effort. She was just being lazy and her attitude was so like "Sorry, oh well." The second incident was recently when my husband told this company to freeze the account for the moment and they said that they would make note of it in their system. Not only did they Continue to bill us for those months, but now they say that they don't freeze accounts, that they don't do that and now we owe them a ridiculous amount and on top of that, we have to deal with the stress and frustration of being mistreated on the phone.
My husband has requested to speak with the Manager and owner of the company and was denied. The representative refuse to let him talk to them. They interrupt him, hang up on him and transfer his calls or put him on hold without telling him! She was So Rude, aggressive, hostile and unprofessional, as were the rest of the representatives we have spoken to. We used to be with ADT. Then when we did not renew our services, we received visits and phone calls from Safe Home Security saying they were affiliated with ADT but the rates were lower and can provide same service. Not sure if ADT gave them our information, but I wish I would have Never let the Safe Home Rep IN my house!!!
We have worked so hard to have good credit and now we are afraid that they make false reports to the credit bureaus just like they did to the rest of their unsatisfied customers. That's a Big Deal. By doing that, they are messing with people's lives and futures. If you apply for something in the future, it could mean higher rates, mortgages or even worst (!), you can have car and home loans denied. Don't know what to do, but I am frustrated.

They will tell the customer what the monthly rate will be then they tell us to write in a higher amount so we as installers can make more money. Was at an install and they told the customer that if they wanted the smoke to work it would be 5 more dollars a month to turn on the photo eye. That is a lie; you can't turn that on or off. I had two occasions where the alarm went off late in the evening when my child came into the house and set the alarm off. It took at the minimum 10 min. before she received a call checking on her. As she says, she could have been dead by this time. I reported these issues to Safe Home and at no time did they offer to do a check on the equipment. Because of this, I cancelled the service both by calling and faxing a cancel to the company. Their answer: "You signed a 60-mo. contract. Pay out the existing contract and we will cancel." I was never late on a payment and all was fine w/ them as long as you're paying but when there was a need for the service and it wasn't provided, that's when I feel they broke this contract. I refuse to pay for a service not being provided and will take my chances with my credit being tarnished. After 3 months of no phone line and not one call from SHS to inquire why, I stopped paying SHS. Only then did I receive a call from SHS to find out why I stopped paying. SHS didn't even know they couldn't monitor my home. Boy, did I feel safe now.
Two years later, they are still hounding me for a payment. They must be in dire states for money. SHS wants me to pay for a service they can't perform because there is no link from my home to SHS. Last August 2012, my 85-year-old father, who lived in Alabama, fell 2 stories from a ladder into a sliding glass door, hitting his head on concrete. He suffered a major concussion, multiple cuts and bruises, rib injuries, and almost lost his life. He was in the hospital in another city for nearly 2 months. Right before that, my mother passed away, so their house was empty.
While he was in the hospital recovering, I called Safe Home Security (SHS) about installing an alarm system in his home. Shortly after my dad completed Rehab, we moved him from Alabama to an assisted living facility in Charlotte (October), and sold his home to a cousin which closed in early January 2013. During the negotiations of the sale in December, my cousin told me she would like to take on the contract with Safe Home Security, and asked me for the contact information for SHS. I spoke to my contact at the alarm company and told her I wanted to connect her with my cousin who wanted to pick up the remaining term of the contract. They immediately connected with each other.
At no time did my contact at SHS mention that we would not be able to transfer the term of the contract. Instead, they signed her up to an entirely NEW contract with the same equipment, with a few add-ons, and are telling me we owe $1,900. I sent in writing a cancellation notice and proof of residence from my dad's assisted living facility on January 30. I spoke to an executive with the company on Saturday, May 11, and with a manager at the company on May 13 about this case, to try and make sense of why we would still be liable for a system that (i) is now being used and paid for by another occupant of the house, and (ii) why they are not allowing for a reasonable early termination fee for a man who not only doesn't own the property any longer, but who also has moved out of state, and can no longer take care of his affairs.
We, in good faith, attempted to transfer the service with the new owners of the house, but that wasn't good enough for this company. They are exploiting the situation, double dipping on the contract, and taking advantage of people who walked into this with the expectation we could get out of the contract under extreme circumstances like the ones I've described above.
SHS maintains that they paid off the entire amount of the contract @ $59.99 per month for 36 months to a subcontractor the day the contract was signed. In essence, they are claiming they paid my dad's contract in full the day the contract was signed, as well as the new owner's contract in full the day she signed the same property and the same equipment (with a few new enhancements).
We find it hard to believe that a company would actually pay a subcontractor the full amount of the contract in advance and would like an investigation of who the sub-contractor(s) were (SHS told me on May 11 that there were two different contractors), and whether the subcontractors were actually paid in full. SHS also contend the subcontractors for each install were different but were part of the same Florida group. I asked them to send me a copy of the contract my brother signed (to see if they altered the one I have) and have not received anything. I've also asked them to provide me the details on the subcontractors they say they paid, but have not received anything.
Our father, nor we, should have to deal with these harassing people, and would like to reach an agreement that doesn't force us to pay out 90% of the original contract amount, particularly since we no longer occupy the property or live in the state.

When my wife and I moved into our new home in 2011, we came across IE Home Security at a Lawn and Garden show in Charlotte, NC. We agreed to allow them to come out to our home for an evaluation. They offered a 36-month contract with an incentive/rebate program that would give us $20 each month for 24 months on a debit card. This was a good deal, so we signed up (while paying $300 for installation). Our bank account was deducted for eight months, but I could never get anywhere about getting the rebate we were promised. After this time, I called IE and informed them I wished to terminate my contract because the terms were not met. They agreed and stopped billing me.
Four months later, enter Safe Home Security. They informed they were attempting to draft my payment from my checking account and were unable to do so. I told them the entire situation. Their response was that they had purchased my contract from IE Home Security and they were not responsible for what I signed up for. I completely and utterly disagreed. I told them I was willing to negotiate with them to continue service, but would do so at a reduced amount due to their insistence that I would not get any rebate. I was disgusted by their response and attitude towards the situation.
Since that time I have been called, harassed and bothered to the point of anger. Today the representative told me that I had a skewed view because I purchased the security system due to the rebate program. If I am not mistaken, don't most people buy things that are an advantageous deal to them? This is free enterprise! Obviously, I feel that Safe Home Security is not a reputable entity whatsoever. My rights as a consumer have been severely violated. Now I have noticed that I am not alone in having these problems with this company. I kept calling to get service tech out to fix the non-working system. No one would return call to schedule maintenance. So to get their attention, I quit paying for lack of service. I was told I owed past due; and if I paid half over the phone, then if they sent someone out and they determined the system was not the problem, then I would have to pay the balance in full.
They turned me over to the credit bureau. These people owe me from day one for a faulty system that never worked. They do not stand by their product or their customer. I should get back every penny I paid to them. Complaints were filed on local TV and they reported this company has an (F) rating.
I refused. I started getting threatening calls from a manager. I told him that when the two-year contract was up, I was going to cancel. Response to derogatory credit report entry (4/14/2013):
Excuse me if I don't remember the dates in question, but the facts are otherwise pretty much accurate. I was in a contract with ADT Home Security for alarm home services. At the end of the contract, I did not renew. The account was deactivated, but the equipment was not removed. Approximately a year later, I received a call from someone purporting to be from 3M, indicating that they were the manufacturers of the equipment and would like offer a very exciting service utilizing the equipment that I had already paid for. We set up an appointment. A representative came at the appointed time, but had no knowledge of 3M. He said that he was from Security-one. After he gave his pitch, I agreed to try out the service. He did something to the equipment to activate with Security-one. I paid him the initial setup fee using a check on my credit union account.
Immediately after he left, my internet was not performing well. Security-one suggested that I call AT&T as it had to be something with the phone line. AT&T came out and determined that it was due to the alarm system, and they installed filters on the line. In the meantime, the alarm would go off randomly at all hours of the day and night. Security-one blamed it on AT&T or defective batteries. I informed Security-one that their service was not meeting my needs. I was not billed and I did not pay further. In approximately 11 months to a year later, I noticed a $39 debit to my Credit Union account. Not knowing the charging source, I issued stopped payment orders against further charges.
I was able to track the source to Safe Home Securities. I had no idea who they were. They claim to have acquired Security-one and that I had a contractual agreement to maintain the service for 3 years. Safe Home continued to bill me, even though the wires were cut and the alarm was out of commission. I was getting harassing calls almost daily, with threats of ruining my credit if I did not pay. It started out at $39 and somehow ended at some ridiculous amount. Threats to ruin my credit is the ultimate form of consumer bullying. I refused to pay. A Derogatory Credit Report Entry is now on file and has resulted in a denial of credit by Wells Fargo in the purchase of an automobile.
I have renewed my home security services with ADT and I am satisfied. I meet my obligation, but I do not pay for services not rendered and I do not bow to bullying.

An SHS salesman came pandering for business at my door and posed as my ADT contractor as I had ADT at the time. I was at home minding my own business as I am severely disabled. The salesman convinced me that they were doing the monitoring anyway so I needed to switch with them to "cut out the middle man" and they promised me a "free" monitor for my new home when I got ready to move. Unknowingly I thought this company was legit, but that wasn’t the case as I was being illegally monitored for 7 months by this "unlicensed" company, by their unlicensed subcontractor (Family First Detection whom I never heard of).
When I moved, I found all the sales pitches were lies and also found out both the salesman and Safe Home Security nor Family First were not licensed to do business in my state (my state requires a license for both company and any door-to-door) and the fact that he entered my home under false pretense of pretending that he was from a different company. That is illegal as hell! That didn’t stop SHS customer service from being rude, harassing me for money; they continue to take out money from my card when I had no system and even tried to coerce me into talking the buyers of my home to use their services.
I called the Attorney General and the Criminal Justice Services to make a formal complaint and only then when confronted with the fact they had no license at all to do business here did SHS back off. They put me through hell mentally and physically as I am severely disabled with a life-limiting illness and any stress can further my pain and damage. For that they can throw out their company mission statement of not taking the trust of their customers for granted as they did just that! And still I have not received a formal apology for everything they had put me through nor have they refunded me for all of the months they monitored my home illegally. Not enough that they are licensed in 11 states, but now they are trying to pander business where they have no authority to do business.
Stay away from Safe Home Security. If they are caught again doing business here, they will face criminal charges. And I’m not so sure I should not be taking them to court on a lawsuit as they took advantage of a totally disabled person with lies, bullying, harassment and unlawful business. They knew what they were doing, but they banked on me being stupid just because I’m disabled. But I am not stupid and checking them out was the best thing I could have done or they would have felt illegally "entitled" to ruin my credit and harass me further. I feel psychologically "pillaged" and physically drained and am no longer at all a trusting person, thanks to Safe Home Security. Next time I see them may be in court.

In Dec 2010, we hired a Raleigh NC security company, who had really good customer satisfaction reports, to install a hi-tech security system in our home and office. The day before the system was completely installed, we had a water pipe break that flooded all 3 floors of our home & office. The house had to be demolished inside to the 2 x 4s. The Raleigh firm was aware that of the water damage as the final wire was installed the day after the "flood". This firm did not tell me that our 24-month contract with them was being sold to this "Safe Home Security of CT for a 36-month contract nor did they inform SHS that the house would be vacated due to the damage and to cancel the contract."
Due to all the confusion with the demolition, dealing with insurance, etc., I was not aware that our CC was being debited each month for security. Eight months later, the reconstruction was completed and we moved in to find that the security system was not complete. During this time, we never had any contact by SHS. I called the Raleigh installation firm to have them come back and reconnect the system and reinstall missing cameras and was told that they did not do this and could not help me. I had to call four times before I spoke with someone who told me that our account had been sold to SHS in CT; that is who I would have to call.
After calling SHS four times, I finally got to speak with a woman who told me I would need to speak with a manager. I called this manager and he said that he would need to know the parts number of the items that needed to be replaced and to call him back with this information, which I did and because he was out of the office, I had to leave him a message; that was in February 2011. This manager never returned my call nor did anyone from SHS call.
Due to some very serious family issues, SHS was put on the back "burner" all the while I have an inoperable system. However, my credit card is being debited for the "service". For 23 months, SHS debited my credit card for $55 without ever considering the breach of contract in not providing the service per the contract. Since December and my canceling the credit card, SHS has decided I am a "customer of interest" and that I owe them money! I have told them that for 23 months they got paid for doing nothing and that they breached the contract by not providing the service they contracted for. I am now going to take this issue to the North Carolina Attorney General as this company does not need to be licensed in NC.

I purchased an alarm system in 2002 from Family First Security. My contract was sold many times in the last 11 years, but I have made my payment every month of those 11 years. I’m 55 and a busy person between work, raising a daughter and trying to have a life in between. As many times as my contract has changed hands in the last 11 years, it has been next to impossible to keep track. Not once when my contract has changed hands was I ever notified of these changes. The last I knew, my contract was with Paramount Alarms and the only reason I found that out was making no less than ten phone calls to try and track it down, so I could get the certification letter to give to my homeowner’s insurance.
Last Sunday, for the first time in the 20 years that I have owned my home, someone tried to break in and burglarize my home while I was in the house. This unfortunate incident brought my alarm system back into my consciousness, so I decided to go with a company I felt safe with, that would still be my company next year and the year after that. That is after all why someone subscribes to an alarm monitoring service, to feel safe, is it not? So I called Paramount only to be told that they were no longer servicing my contract. This did not make me feel safe. I was dumbfounded. So who was servicing my contract? Why would someone purchase a contract and neglect to inform the subscriber? Is it my responsibility to figure this out year after year? Is the contract holder under no obligation whatsoever to do anything but collect my money? This does not make me feel safe.
A few hours later, the nice lady at Paramount (who quite frankly sounded like she was working out of a daycare center judging from the background noise) called me back and gave me a phone number to try. She was not sure if it was the right number but she was trying to be helpful. I appreciated her kindness, but it didn’t make me feel safe. So in order to feel safe, I decided after 11 years and over $4,000 in fees paid to whomever to change to another company. I called the number I was given and spoke to Paige who did confirm that I was a customer. I explained that I did not feel safe, that I wanted to cancel the service. She promptly informed me (in such a manner it was obvious that they have a high rate of attrition) that my contract had just renewed in February and if I cancelled, I would be held liable for the remainder of a year’s worth of service fees. This did not make me feel safe. She was very rude. That did not make me feel safe either.
I asked to speak with her supervisor and Ricky came on the line. He said he wanted to help me but he went about it in such a rude and condescending manner. I did not feel safe or important or valued. I told him I had the alarm system for over a decade to which he retorted, “Well, no you haven’t." It’s only been since 2005. I knew exactly how long it was because I purchased it exactly one year after my husband passed away. First, Ricky said he had no record that Safe had ever contacted me. Then Ricky said that Safe had tried to contact me but that I had put in a billing address change, but he couldn’t tell me when or how. That is impossible considering I didn’t even know Safe was servicing my contract. I insisted that Safe Security had never, not once contacted me, and then he kept insisting that my billing address had been changed to an apartment address.
I’m not sure where Ricky was getting his information but I found his argument hollow and mean. He had the dates wrong, the address wrong and yet still kept trying to unsettle me and unsettle me he did. I don’t know when I’ve ever been treated with such disrespect. This definitely did not make me feel safe, just very upset. I have filed a complaint with the BBB but after reading all of these complaints just like mine, I assume I'm in for a fight. I'm very confused that this company maintains an A rating on the BBB. I'm angry enough that I am considering retaining a lawyer.

They didn't call to confirm a password (same with me - 5 times) and did not send police (same with me, 5 times). Another point to ponder: on one occasion when the alarm went off at my shop, and they actually did call, they requested my password. I accidentally gave them the wrong one. The operator actually told me that was incorrect. She requested it several more times. Now, here’s my thought: if I were actually being robbed, why the hell would I give them the correct code word?! They were now charging me for the Tech! I complained again; they removed the charge. I gave them my card information to make the payment and got a Confirmation Number from the Rep. Almost 15 days later and the payment has not gone through! I called to find out what was going on and my account was now in Collections! I explained to over half a dozen people about what happened and all of them said, "OK. We'll call you back…" They never called back.
So I waited a couple of days and called back myself. I asked for a Supervisor or Manager and it seemed like they didn't want to take calls or there were no Supervisors or Managers on site. Everyone sounded like they were just winging their job over there. I am still waiting for a call back. There is no one there that knows what they are doing and now I am stuck with a sub-standard company for the next 36 months. This will be the last time I renew with this company. Whoever reads this: stay away from Safe Home Security in Cromwell. They suck!

Safe Home Security tortured me for their 5 years. In the first year, one of many issues was that they were not receiving signal from my home. They allowed that to continue for 3 months of which I was never notified and they continued to charge each month. Once, I received a stub in the mail to notify me of this. I went through lengths to get my payments back. I did receive it all. After the first 3 years, I couldn't take it any longer. They told me I needed to submit cancellation in writing. Two months prior to that month, I typed a cancellation letter, emailed, mailed and faxed it. They called to speak with me to see if they could resolve and convince me to stay. I said I do not want to renew my contract, end of story. Would you believe that this company charged me for another three months after?! And the calling began and yes, I was refunded. One year after that drama, I reviewed my credit score and what do I see? Safe Home Security reported eight late payments which we all know is impossible, because they withdraw the money automatically! It never ends. I'm still in correspondence with this horrendous company. Never use them, ever.

Canceled in April 2012, Charged through Oct 2012, Declined refund - In March 2012, I notified Safe Home Security of the sale of our home and to cancel the plan. They said to send the closing documents and that my contract was valid for closing. We sent the closing docs in April 2012 and spoke with Ken in Customer Service for a month. They charged us until October 2012 and declined a refund. Since March of 2012, I have been dealing with customer service and the resolution department to close my account. I sent all required paperwork to close the account and yet they continued to debit my checking account $42.99 through Oct 2012. I have been calling 2-3 times a month, writing emails once a month, and have been given the runaround excuses like "it's under review" (for 7 months!).
Customer service gave different excuses as to why the account was still open (they did or did not receive the required closing documents, they will give me a refund, then the CEO reviewed it in December and declined the refund request but he agreed to close the account). When speaking with the resolution department for these past several months, they agreed that my account was available to close since June 2012. We are now at the end of December and they are saying the CEO declined it because my account actually ends in June of 2013. Of course I called every time to discuss my account as no one there calls you back as promised. They were not going to call me or send me a written notice of their decision.
After speaking with 5 different agents for 8 months and being promised a refund, the CEO declined it. The customer service agents, their supervisors, and managers all gave me false information and were inconsistent with their policies and practices. Terrible service. If customers receive inconsistent and false information from Safe Home Security Inc.'s customer service department, resolution department, and managers at Safe Home Security, who are they supposed to contact? The CEO?

Two years ago, we decided to end our contract with Safe Home due to a 10-year-old system, poor service, and replacement unavailability. A letter was sent and again the updated contact request was sent to cancel the service. No response and also no payment on our end. Another letter was sent to end service and refund all funds from our overpayment. Now two years later, Safe Home has no record of our requests and has been using our overpayment to monitor a system that has been removed from the house. I need to write yet another letter but no longer have an address and none appears on the wonderful website. It is all about the money not customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately, my existing alarm company sold my service to Safehome. Due to an error by Safehome and their subcontractor, I have lost my entire alarm system (which I paid substantially for). Safehome has stated that they will not replace the system, even it was their fault, and would not let me cancel. I originally called mid-October after I received a contract to sell my home and knew what the closing date would be. I called Howard at Safehome to request that the system be transferred from my old home in Lagrange, KY to my new home in Louisville, KY. He arranged for my alarm to be picked up on Monday, October 22. Because I was out of town that entire week for business, we were to arrange a time when I got back to have it re-installed.
At the closing that next week, the buyers told me that no one had shown up and the alarm was still there - and that since the closing was taking place and their elderly mother moving in, they were unwilling to set up another time to have it removed. I had received no call from the alarm person to try to reschedule or even tell me he wouldn’t be able to make the appointment. He just didn’t show up. I immediately called Howard at Safehome back to discuss the problem. He told me he completely understood my frustration and would work on the problem and call me back the next day. He never called back. I left him numerous messages for weeks and did not receive any returned calls.
I called back and spoke with customer service, which referred me to who they said was Howard’s manager, Justin. I left a message for Justin explaining the situation and asking for a callback. No response. I left another few messages - no response. I had customer service send an email asking him to call me - no response. I eventually called, and customer service transferred me to Kim. I explained the situation and was told she would have to order a copy of my contract, but should have it by the next day. She assured me she would call me back. She didn’t. I left her numerous messages. No response. This has been well over a month and a half of leaving messages for three people + with no returned calls. I would like to point out that I have stayed calm and was simply asking for help on my account to fix the problem that Safehome created - not yelling or rude. This is the poorest customer service I have ever experienced.
Eventually, I was able to get on the phone with Valerie, and she determined with management that they would not replace my security system, even though I lost it through a Safehome mistake. She explained the process of what I need to do to cancel my contract - to send in a letter and my HUD to show I moved. I did. Who should respond to my complaint? Justin, the manager that I was complaining about! He emailed me that Safehome was not responsible for my "personal problems" that resulted in them not being able to monitor my service and I needed to pay over $600 in an early cancelation fee. Is moving and requesting my alarm be transferred a personal problem? I was astounded, so I have emailed the CEO. I can't imagine he will even respond, so I plan on seeking legal help with the matter.

I have had a number of problems with Safe Home Security, Inc. Currently, I am not able to get service, even though I am paying for this. I took a day off work. Before doing this, I confirmed my appointment day and time. They did not show up. When I called them, they said that was not their problem. I canceled my credit card so they can no longer get automatic payments from me. They have really bad customer service. I originally signed up with a local company called IE Security. Next thing I find out is that I am with Safe Home Security. IE Security was only responsible for maintenance. IE Security is currently out of business. I end up with no service.
