Worst experience of my life! I was lied to and tricked into believing that there would be a camera attached to my house. This all started by the sales people saying that they could lower my Cox bill and my CenturyLink bill and would install the camera at no additional cost. Well, that was a lie. Now I’m being charged for some system that I did not even want in the system is malfunctioning 90% of the time. I want out of this contract, but don’t know how to do it these people should be turned into consumer affairs, and the Better Business Bureau Flim Flamm, and shady activities is what they associate with.

Please do due diligence before you sign with them. We have been lied to and deceived by this company so much. Today we were told that ADT bought their contracts and I was now in a contract with ADT. When we left Florida for the move to Georgia, we were told we could not bring our equipment with us, that we needed new equipment. When the tech came to install the system, we again stated NEW EQUIPMENT ONLY, NOT CONTRACT UPGRADE. Well hidden in those 9 million papers is just the opposite.

What got me was I was in a chat with Safe Home and asked for the owner's name and address, and email. He asked me why I told him so I could file a complaint with Georgia Attorney General's office. He comes out of the chat and calls my husband on his phone. I got on the phone and he snarly told me that, "Well, ma'am, as a consumer you should read before you sign." Really.

NEVER EVER sign up with this company. My account was sold to ADP without my knowledge. I was told I'm still under contract with Safe Home Security. Mr. Ryan ** was the rudest agent I ever spoke with in my life. He cursed me out and stated he doesn't have to deal with me anymore because we have been sold to ADP. ADP instantly gave me a discount for the next 3 months after letting the ADP agent listen to the call from Safe Home Security. They have the worst customer service and if you alarm goes off, it takes them 5 to 10 minutes just to acknowledge it. So you will just be screwed in the event of an emergency. Also when we signed up 6 years ago, we were told we were signing a 3 year contract just to be surprised that is was for 6 years. Horrible Company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Now on the to the BBB, Attorney General, and my 4 million followers!!!!

On 11-21-25, 2 agents that had Cox Communication name badges on knocked on my door. Wanted to talk about lowering my Cox bill. From there it changed to lowering my DirecTv bill. Then they showed me how I can get a security system without any additional cost to me. I told them we needed to keep Hallmark channels. About 2-4-26 all the changes that they put in happened. We lost all the hallmark channels that we had and the number of total channels was reduced. I contacted Cox Communications to find out what was going on and they said the agents did not work for them and that they had quit selling alarm systems on 11-12-25. I called the alarm company and they knew nothing about the 2 agents and kept saying you signed a contract. My wishes upfront went on deaf ears.

I returned my Directv services back to normal on 2-5-26. I had many phone calls from the alarm company during this time. Each one was the same. You signed a contract. On Feb 12 they tried changing my Directv service again and I returned it back to what I wanted. There was One phone call that was recorded by the alarm company about a deal to pay for 14 mos of service to get out of the contract. The next day I was told that was a mistake and I have 60 mos to pay. If I keep the channels that I said I wanted, they cannot meet the totals that they quoted to me. That does not bother them because I signed a contract.

I am not looking to recoup the money I have paid, although it would be nice. I would like to stop the fraud and the scam before someone else falls for it like I did. Anything you can do would be appreciated. They are also charging $5.99 a month to ensure my prices stay locked in. The promise for Cox Communications was $55 a month. They have come nowhere close to that.

I purchased the Safe Home Security system and I have not been secure at all. I purchased my system and within 3 months the camera was not functioning. I called the company several times and and 2 occasions was told to get a ladder, climb up and take the camera down from the corner of the garage and charge it!! Finally, after several more calls the recharged the battery which lasted 1 month. As of 2-11-26 I have not had a working camera since Dec. 2025. I have had 4 false alarms reported because the system is setting itself off. Each time the false alarm was initiated I was away from home!!

I have called the office over at least 20 times...repeating my complaint to replace the camera and repair the system. I did register a complaint with the BBB in which Safe Home agreed to reimburse me for 2 months service only!!! The system still doesn't work and I'm still getting false alarms. I would LOVE to cancel my 3 year contract!! Do not go with this company!!

Do not recommend. I am having to pay over $1000 to get out of my contract because we are moved, but I was willing to do that just to be done with this company. However, it's been over a month now that I provided proof of sale of my house and they have not gotten back with. Yet I am still being charged monthly and the new owners of my previous home say the service has been turned off. I have to pay it though because if I don't they will probably report me to the credit bureau again like they did when I accidentally missed 2 months of payments. They never even tried to contact me before reporting me to the credit bureau either. There's enough bad review on here and Better Business complaints, I feel like a class action lawsuit is in order.

I strongly recommend that no one get involved with Safe Home Security or their affiliate Safeguard America. What started as a simple request to move my home security service turned into a nightmare of misleading contracts, a system that never worked, and being billed for a house I no longer own. I ended up with overlapping agreements, no working system at my new home, continued billing for my old one, and additional charges of around $400 for equipment and services that never functioned. The equipment that was installed never worked properly. I had no real monitoring, no app access, and no ability to use the system the way a security system is supposed to work.

When I tried to get help, the representative repeatedly interrupted me while I was explaining the problem and said, “I don’t care what you’re telling me — you are not getting out of the contract under any circumstances.” When I asked to speak with a manager, the call was disconnected. No one attempted to fix the system or resolve the issue. Even after disputing everything in writing, the company continued sending invoices and threatening collection. Their responses have been inconsistent and unprofessional. This company appears to operate in a way that traps customers in contracts rather than providing real security. There are many alarm companies out there — I strongly recommend choosing someone else.

Was convinced to install system in our new home. Installer made an unrepaired hole in the wall attempting to set system up. Was told that he would return the next day to finish explaining system and give us the resources to secure our home. No call...No show. Went to YouTube to learn how to activate my system from my cell phone which required another app. Still unable to download video feed to my wife's phone. System failed due to a faulty sensor and set off alarm. My wife's code did not shut off system. The only code that worked was the silent alarm. This resulted in a visit from the police who were quick to inform us that next false alarm would cost.

We have made no less than 10 calls to the company to get issues resolved for more than 4 weeks. Camera for the front has failed leading to no vehicle protection in addition to the failure of the back door sensor. Company is now refusing to answer our request to have this system repaired. I have now asked for it to be removed, the wall fixed, and account terminated with a full refund. Calls and request are falling on deaf ears. Have no path to success at this stage.

I have never had a company that penalizes their clients!!! I have attempted to cancel my services 6 months ago and they say I must pay up to the date of 10/27/2026 at $45 dollars a month no matter when I cancel. This is a hardship for me. My husband passed away and now every penny must be counted. I believe in paying my bills, but not if I'm not going to use the service or product. This should be against the law. I understand a penalty for cancelling a contract, but this is astronomical!!! This was NOT explained to me when I was shopping for an alarm company and it is not even clear on the contract without having someone explaining it. I would like to know if it is possible to start a Class Action suit on Companies like this for creating a Hardship for people trying to live with security?? 5 year- no cancellation is not how the system was sold.

The terrible reviews are 1000% accurate. Completed my 3 year monitoring agreement in which I purchased and paid for the alarm panel, sensors, etc. upfront from their local dealer. The system has worked fine and the monitoring service was good (they use Rapid Response). However, upon the end of the 3 year agreement, I contacted them to cancel my monitoring service and release my alarm panel from the Alarm.com account so I could use my panel for another service if I so desired. Again, I own the equipment and have every right to do so.

In order to cancel once you’re outside of contract, they make you jump through the hoop of providing a 30 day written notice via USPS certified mail, which I provided to them as required. During this 30 day cancellation period, I received multiple voicemails from their “Tech Support” department (never would provide a name) confirming that my panel would be released at the conclusion of the cancellation window. The 30 day window has come and gone, but they still haven’t released my alarm panel despite repeated attempts to get them to do so. This apparently is a common tactic if you read other reviews. The only person you can ever get on the phone is someone in their sales department who either won’t or isn’t able to be of much help other than trying to get you to re-enter into a new agreement.

I should have read the reviews before ever signing up with this predatory company. Let this be a warning to anyone considering using this company that they will use every deceptive trick in the book to avoid turning your alarm panel back over to you, despite having paid for and owning it. They want to make it as painful and difficult for you as possible in hopes that you’ll just give up. They’ve had their opportunity to resolve this. I’ve since filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s office.

I recently attempted to cancel a service my late husband signed up for in 2022. He passed away nearly three years ago, and I have since sold the home associated with the account. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that I would still be responsible for payments until October 2027. I requested a copy of the contract to understand how the company addresses something as significant as the death of the contract holder. The agreement, however, contains no mention of survivorship, death, or any related provisions. Only after I pointed out this omission was I told that I would be required to pay 90% of the remaining contract balance.

It’s certainly an interesting approach—one that seems to rely on policies that aren’t actually written anywhere, while offering very little flexibility or compassion. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this service to review their contract thoroughly and be prepared for surprises should any real-life complications arise.

Claimed “official” ADT technician would come later if desired, but would charge $199 to do it, while he would do it for free if done while he was here today. Safe Home Security is a scam company. I signed up with 5 sensors, including a motion sensor I was assured would not be triggered by my dogs. From day one, it caused nightly false alarms. A technician later admitted the issue couldn’t be fixed and told me to cancel, which I did in 2022. Despite canceling and never using the system again, Safe Home kept billing me every month. When I called, they dismissed it with “it sucks that it happened” and tried to upsell me new equipment or a new 3-year contract. They refused a refund, refused to take responsibility, and hid behind a “written cancellation required” excuse.

I filed a BBB complaint, but their only solution was for me to spend more money and extend my contract. No accountability, no ownership of their mistakes. SHS and its affiliated company SafeGuard America is a predatory company. I gave them more than adequate notice of my intent to no renew my monitoring services after it expire on may 26, 2025. After my contract ended, they refuse to reset my DSC installer code back to the default manufacturers code and refused to release my cellular communicator. I was unable to speak to a supervisor or manager (the customer support person named Josh ** told me he is the only one I am able to talk to). After several conversations and emails requesting them to reset my DSC installer code back to the manufacturer's default code and release/unlock my communicator so I can use a local monitoring service, they continually told me cannot (will not??) do that and it is something they never do. Instead of releasing my equipment, they continually try to get me to sign another contract.

This went on over 3 weeks with telephone calls and emails requesting them to return full control of my equipment back to me (which I purchased before my monitoring service was sold to them). I suspected they are a predatory company exploiting elderly retired folks like myself so, as a precaution, I cancelled my credit card after my contract ended to make sure they don't keep charging me after my contract expired.

After 3 weeks, they released my cellular communicator (because they were paying alarm.com for keeping my cellular active but realize they weren't getting paid by me) but did not reset the installer code for DSC system back to the manufacturer's default code. My only choice at this time is probably to pay another alarm company to hard reset my DSC system to factory settings and reprogram my entire system again. STAY AWAY FROM SHS and all of its affiliated companies because they will make your life hell if you try to leave them you will never regain control of your equipment.
