Predatory on the elderly, Fraudulent, offer no sort of help, doesn't even work. Our contract renewal was signed at the same IP address as the sales rep, not by the customer. Customer service dodges calls and refuse to offer any way of helping. Have stolen thousands of dollars from us alone.

Safety Home Security engages in deceptive business practices by automatically renewing contracts without consent or clear communication. When I tried to cancel, they claimed the process would take 2 months—an obvious tactic to keep charging me against my will. The customer service experience was appalling. The representative demanded unnecessary private information about my finances and tenants—completely irrelevant to canceling my service. When I asked to speak with a manager, they refused to escalate the call and eventually hung up on me!
To make matters worse, their customer support ignores emails, leaving customers with no recourse. This company operates with shady auto-renewals, unreasonable delays, and outright disrespect for its customers. Avoid Safety Home Security at all costs—they trap customers, ignore complaints, and treat people with zero professionalism. If you value transparency and decent service, look elsewhere. Worst experience with a security company ever!

I only needed two days to realize that safe home security.was deceptive and awful. I was quoted a certain amount for a monthly fee. They told me that the equipment and installation was free. Ten minutes after the installer left, my card dinged me that I had a charge. I checked and they charged me for the installation. I emailed them and told them I wanted to cancel, and I was informing them in my 3 day period to cancel. I also sent a certified letter postmarked in the 3 day cancellation letter.
I wrote two more emails and finally was told to call a different number. I was promised an email that informed me that I would get my money back, the service would be cancelled and someone would pick up the equipment and they would take no more money out of my account. I’m still waiting. I couldn’t sit on my front porch because it would keep taking pictures and dinging my phone and recording the conversations. A man was mowing my lawn and each time he went by it would take a picture and ding my phone. Believe me you do not want this service.

SHS and its affiliated company SafeGuard America is a predatory company. I gave them more than adequate notice of my intent to no renew my monitoring services after it expire on may 26, 2025. After my contract ended, they refuse to reset my DSC installer code back to the default manufacturers code and refused to release my cellular communicator. I was unable to speak to a supervisor or manager (the customer support person named Josh ** told me he is the only one I am able to talk to). After several conversations and emails requesting them to reset my DSC installer code back to the manufacturer's default code and release/unlock my communicator so I can use a local monitoring service, they continually told me cannot (will not??) do that and it is something they never do. Instead of releasing my equipment, they continually try to get me to sign another contract.
This went on over 3 weeks with telephone calls and emails requesting them to return full control of my equipment back to me (which I purchased before my monitoring service was sold to them). I suspected they are a predatory company exploiting elderly retired folks like myself so, as a precaution, I cancelled my credit card after my contract ended to make sure they don't keep charging me after my contract expired.
After 3 weeks, they released my cellular communicator (because they were paying alarm.com for keeping my cellular active but realize they weren't getting paid by me) but did not reset the installer code for DSC system back to the manufacturer's default code. My only choice at this time is probably to pay another alarm company to hard reset my DSC system to factory settings and reprogram my entire system again. STAY AWAY FROM SHS and all of its affiliated companies because they will make your life hell if you try to leave them you will never regain control of your equipment.

My mother is 87 years old and has early stage dementia. She lost the pendant she wears around her neck. I called SHS to get a replacement and was told it would cost $180. $180 for a piece of plastic with a transmitter inside. It most likely cost less than $1 from China. With her dementia slowly progressing, I'm sure it will go missing again. That's $180 each time. This smells like elder financial abuse. To me, they are taking advantage of elders' declining health. SHS should be ashamed. I'd never use the company. I'm sure there are more honest companies out there.

Do not use this company. I have been with them since 2020. This month after I reached my 5 year cutoff I switched providers for some equipment upgrades. Then called to cancel. The customer service rep became irate refusing to even tell me the address to send written notification to. Telling me a bunch of nonsense about breach of contract etc. This is the same company that lost a class action suit over business practices and needs to be put out of business. Stay far away from them.

You better watch your billing close!!! My paper copy says due 18th but online May 31st! Couldn't figure out why I’m late each month. Talked to rep who sounded totally exhausted from struggling to understand it enough to explain. He said it’s stupid and causes people to be late which affects credit scores! I was also slimed into another contract when I called to cancel 2 months before end of contract. If you have them cancel when you can. If you’ve been solicited by sales hang up on them. My bill has Been twice as much as they said it would be. Now because of how they bill, I’m paying for 2 months each month!

I have been with this company for a few years just so they don't ruin my credit, make sure you read the agreement as they have hidden clauses that they do not explain to the customer when they are rushing you to sign. Their agreement renews automatically every three years if I'm not mistaken and when you try to cancel the customer service gives people a hard time not explaining that to cancel you need to send them a letter 60 days before your contract is due for renewal. This company make you feel like you signed your credit and your life away. DO NOT EVEN TRY IT.

This is the worst company I've ever done business with. They don't have qualified people in my area. They make promises they don't keep. When I had an alarm and I called, four different people could not give me an accurate code to shut off the alarm. They called my neighbor instead of me to check if I was OK. They told me the only thing I could do to shut off the alarm was to cut the wires. Don't ever let these people near your home. Read ALL the reviews on a number of sites to get a true picture of this horrid company.

I just settled a year long dispute with them over their auto resign up clause. Six months prior to my contract being up I called for service. When they were going to charge me for getting the system back working I asked to Cancel. They told me my contract wasn't up until March and I would have to call back then and cancel. When I called in March they said I had to pay an additional year because I didn't give written notice so many days prior to that. They have all this information that I called in October but because it was verbal and they won't share the recording and they are hiding behind the clause.
When speaking to them they asked if I read the contract and in fact I did, 3 years before when I signed it. Like most normal people I didn't pull it out and check to see if the rep had given me bad information. I feel certain she knew exactly what she was doing and would be able to get an additional years payments by telling me to call. I would choose another company that I could trust if I were signing up for another security system. Hope this helps others make a better decision than I did.

After 25 years of service and never a late payment, my security was breached. A buyer for my home wanted to take over my contract. When he was sent a new contract, he decided he did not want a new 60 month contract. But while looking over the contract, he was able to change the verbal passcode and contact info without my permission or verbal passcode. SHS refuses to acknowledge written documentation that I did not share my verbal passcode. I had to pay off my contract in order to not have my credit ruined.

What a horrible company! Door to door salesman sold my elderly (85) mother on their services when she already had a security service that was fine. He had her sign a contract and then proceeded to pull out her security panel and install a new one. My mom told him that she doesn't want the new service and to please cancel contract. He left her home with the system not fully installed and she has been billed every month since. How can this company still be in business. All reviews are horrible. It is pathetic that there are people and companies out there that treat people this way - especially the elderly!

I was never made aware that I was entering into a long-term contract. The last time I contacted Safe Home Security for a service request, I was forced to sign an agreement to upgrade service to have someone come out and fix my equipment. At the time, I had no alternative but to agree, as I was leaving the country for an extended period and needed my security system to be functional. I was not provided with a clear explanation of the terms, nor was I given a choice in the matter. Now that I am attempting to cancel, I am being told that I must pay 90% of the remaining contract balance—a wholly unreasonable and exploitative policy. At no point was this explicitly communicated to me, and I strongly contest the legitimacy of this contract. This is a classic example of deceptive sales tactics and Safe Home Security’s lack of transparency.

Joshua ** the owner of SAFE HOME SECURITY FROM CHARLOTTE OR HOSPITALITY CAMERA is nothing but a fraud and a liar, I gave him a job for 2 hotels to put 32 cameras in each property, and paid him $16K for this job, and before I gave him the job, I told him that I currently have a system which is good, but old and tired, so I want to replace and get the best commercial grade cameras, night vision, and an NVR/DVR which holds recording up to 30 days. He also sent the tech to see our property, and he promised us they will do everything and it will be much better system.
He also promised us that we will be able to see the cameras on our existing desktops but nothing was true. Once the installation completed, nothing worked for 2 months, then he forced us to buy 3 new 4K TV’s, HDMI cables and a 3-way switch, and that also he did not come to install, instead of that my electrician completed his work. When the system was installed in first 2 weeks one of the brand new camera died, and half a dozen camera were moved from its original location.
HE SOLD US A VERY CHEAP RESIDENTIAL PRODUCT, and the NVR records only 2 to 3 days of recording and then it overwrites on the oldest recording. During Christmas, he promised me and also threatened me that if I keep calling him, he will block me, and said, that he will send a tech out first week of January after the holidays. As of today he did not send any text, emails or called to do any work and on the contract he had promised 3 years of warranty for parts and labor and will replace any cameras or the NVR. Since he failed to keep his promise, I have filed a lawsuit and he has not responded to my attorney or me, please do not trust him at all!

Do not sign the contract!!! The equipment sucks! I have had the system for five years and decided to cancel the service since the battery on the console is going out and it's $40 for a new one. They say it won't work without it even with it plugged into the wall. The motion detector hasn't worked in years even after I tech checked on it. The fire and carbon monoxide detectors aren't working with the system after 3 years and changing the batteries on them several times. I called to ask about the service and they give an option to cancel by phone but all it is is someone trying to talk you out of canceling. I wrote them a letter. Wish me luck!!!!

I sold my home with the alarm system and I called and wrote letters to have my service canceled and even emailed supervisor supporting documentation. The supervisors would not call back and I called so many times, I cannot count. I was told that they would cancel my service if I sold my home and they still have not cancelled the contract and it has been over a month. The agents are rude and incompetent and the supervisors will not call you back. I informed them that I did not need to transfer service because where I was going I did not need service. The only thing I keep being told is I have to pay 90 percent of remaining balance to have it canceled. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The only person in the entire company that treated me well was the person who sold me the contract and did regular maintenance on my system.

I can confirm this was the worst decision of my life. Was approached by a salesman who stated I would pay 4.99 per month and could cancel at anytime if I did not like the system. He had me answer a video prompt and gave me a thumbs up or thumbs down on how to answer the questions (this video has now been used against me after attempting to cancel). I told the salesman I didn’t rent, he told me that it wouldn’t be a problem, and to just tell the video prompt that I owned the home. I am now locked into a 66 month contract- this was never once discussed during the conversation. The 4.99$ has now become 66.00$ after 5 months and I am faced with paying $3,300 to cancel the contract. I was never provided with any copies of the contract. I have been duped by these guys, don’t make the same mistake.

We came to be in business with AHS after our previous contract expired with ADT. From the start there were issues however, after they gifted us free cameras to keep us we decided they made an effort so should we. For the most part, it's been a good experience. Fast forward to month 40 of a 42 month contract. We started having issues with the alarm, as it would just go off several times a day without notice. Here we are at 42 months and they still haven't fixed the issue. We were told we would have a technician come out to fix the issue and no such visit has ever been made. So here is the kicker, I called customer service to confirm we have met all our obligations and we would be terminating service and they tried to tell me that I would've had to write them a letter 60 days prior to the end of the contract to end services. They are now trying to tell me my contract doesn't end for another 12 months. Lol.. So do yourself a favor. Go with ADT!

If I could give zero stars I certainly would. This review doesn’t involve me directly, but my sister, who had service with them. They were emailed in 10/2021 to stop her service, her house burned to the ground. My sister died on 1/18/25, I came across a few bank statements to show that payments were still being taken out. When I called to inquire that’s when the run-a-round started, not only will they not call to discuss why payments are being deducted, I’ve also asked for an invoice showing how long payments have been coming from my sister’s account, the more emails I send they email me back saying that it’s a duplicate request and the ticket is being closed.
The 2 times I actually spoke to someone, I was told they would look into it, and I’d immediately get an email saying the ticket was being closed. This sort of thing is obviously a part of how they scam people and I’m sure my sister is not the only one. I would never do business with them, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone else, I have emails to back up everything I’m saying.

I do not recommend this company. I signed a contract of 5 years. Nearing my contract's end I contacted them to service the alarm system. I explained that that I have a tenant residing at the address. He is only permitted to allow access. Any fees or questions or anything that requires a signature contact me. The technician allowed the tenant to sign his name and give his email and phone number.
The tenant entered into another 5-year contract. I contacted them and stated I did not want to renew the contract. Billing department sent me a copy of the contract signed by my tenant I told her that was not my signature. After going round and round with them I was told file a police report as I did which did nothing. I was told make monthly payments or buy out the contract. I disputed it with the credit bureaus after that the alarm company increased my balance owed. They are money hungry evey month my bill was different. I was told if they sent out a bill it's an additional 3.00 most months I never received a paper bill or e bill or even a text regarding my bill. None of the employees are on the same page, it's always a different story. I'm totally disappointed and dissatisfied!

I can attest to the fact that when the system fails they are not willing to fix and make multiple excuses. I have spoken with 11 different people about my system which has been offline for about a month and they don’t have a technician to come out for another month or 2 and I’ve only had the system for a total of 3 months. The representative in the cancellation department actually growled at me. Another mail representative got upset because I told him I wasn’t willing to pull the system myself and risk damaging any equipment for them to try and make me liable.

Safe Home Security has one of the most deceptive operation I have seen. I was told my existing system was outdated. At the time I move in I didn't know that the security system was far Superior, with all devices linked to main monitor. SHS setup was only main monitor and door camera that is on different app. Was told that I would only paid $4.98 per month for 5 years because the salesperson: Joe ** If they can use my home for advertising. Note: At no time did the Salesperson: Joe **, Show me, notify, our state that they have a contract. Salesman: **, Also told me to tell main office that I didn't have pre-existing system.
Now when I cancelled service do to poor service and equipment problems. They are saying I have Contract when I answered their 10 Questions. At no time did the main office say a word of terms and conditions or any real tangible information that would constitute any kind of contract. I made the assumption that I was just merely agreeing to have their service in that if I was dissatisfied or wanted to cancel considering there was nothing given to me saying any terms and conditions that I can merely call them up and tell him that I was dissatisfied with their product. It didn't live up to the expectations and therefore I could just cancel.
Well that proved to be impossible. After sending letter of cancellation and sending equipment back. They just said they would send me to Collections and then they kept on billing me regardless no matter how many times I talk to them. I requested a copy of this so called contact they said I signed. After over 3 months. They mail me it. They include a letter saying. salesman: Joe **, forgot to give me. The contract had my email wrong. My signature was forged and copied on to document. Note: I did file a police report on the forged documents.
I informed SHS again on these issues and they saying because I verbally agreed to their service and I said I don't see how that would make any sense. If you didn't give me the terms and conditions and then they told me oh well we have you on video and I'm saying okay does that video show me that I signed a contract and of course I'm making a guess it doesn't which I never the salesperson Joe never showed me any video screen what not there are 10 questions they ask you. Does not tell you any terms or conditions so therefore I cannot see how you could possibly have a contract for them to send me a contract with my name forged. Just goes to tell you that obviously they do have terms and conditions and if you were able to read them you would probably never in a million years agree to the service.
Why would you start a service and if you have a problem and then you decide to cancel it that you're going to pay 90% the cost of the service that's in crazy. It's like buying a car, returning your car and they said well you still have to pay the loan but you're going to return your car no sense whatsoever. I have also received emails of the contract in PDF format which has different information on each one. In my last conversation with a safe home security, it seems like the only way they're ever going to deal with this contract and actually cancel it even with all the falsehoods misleading information forgery and so forth and tampering of the documents, that unless you get an attorney is about the only way you're probably going to be able to stop this. This should never be allowed to happen.

I wish that I could leave no stars. This place has scammed me. It makes me feel like I was being right. I tried to cancel my service and I was given the wrong information by customer service so when I got the call this morning from them in Connecticut they like, "Oh sorry it needed to be 60 days in advance so you're rolled over into another year." The bad part is I have been with your service over two or three years when they switched over to the YG because they wanted $200 upfront for me and I didn’t have it and they wouldn’t allow me to make four payments of $50. I even reached out to the Better Business Bureau who tried to be a mediator in between me and the company, but no one with Phone to let me pay for payments of $50 so I continue to pay and I would ask when can I in my contract and they told me February 2025.
So when I called in December, they didn’t give me much information but when I called in January to pay my bill because I still continue to pay my bill matter of fact I paid over because I have a credit of $41 and some change. The lady told me, "You just had to be a letter 30 days in advance." It’s to write my account number and she gave me that. She said she think that’s all I needed to do. She said if it was more that they would contact me and she gave me the email to where to send the letter. So January 8 today they told me it needed to be 60 days in advance. So either customer service does not know their job and the policy or they just set out to scam Rob and rate me of another year 13 months of money even though I have no service
